(Y/n) and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week: Monday
Tuesday     Wednesday     Thursday (Part 1)     Thursday (Part 2)     Friday     Saturday     Sunday
Spotify Playlist (collaborative)
Pairing: SBI x sister!reader (she/her pronouns)
Warnings: swearing, toxic friends, panic spirals/attacks, injury, taking pills for pain
Summary: you have a very bad week, how will you manage? (Characters are fully human, but based on their DSMP characters. High school AU)
Word count: 4,818
(A/N): I’ve never played volleyball or watched Haikyuu before, so I’m not 100% certain how games work. Also, I probs should’ve split this into two parts, but eh.
“(Y/n) love, you look homeless in that sweater, it’s literally so fucking ugly.”
“Haha, yeah it is. I guess I just wasn’t really trying today.”
Adrian snorted, scanning your body with his cold eyes. “Today? You don’t try at all. You always look like trash.”
“More than trash, you always look like you just rolled in dog shit.” Sammy threw her head back and cackled at her own joke.
Your friends around you erupted in laughter as you four walked down the hallways of the hell that was your public high school. You awkwardly chuckled alongside them, you didn’t really find it funny, but you didn’t want to draw more attention towards yourself.
“Seriously, (y/n), I really don’t know why we still hang out around you anymore. You really let yourself go.”
“Yeah, now that I think about it, you did gain like five pounds in the past week.”
“Really not a good look on you, love. Then again, nothing you do can make you look good anymore.”
You tried to not let their comments get to you, you really did, but sometimes their comments just rooted themselves deep into your subconscious. You didn’t try looking good anymore, you couldn’t wear anything without them criticising it. You could never win.
“Awe,” Adrien poked your cheeks, “stop looking so sad. We’re just trying to give you advice. You really need it.”
“Yeah, (y/n). You’re so sensitive, get a grip.”
“Guys look, I think she’s gonna cry!”
You wiped at your welling eyes with the sleeves of your sweater. “I’m not. I just got allergies.”
Annie rolled her eyes. “Uh-huh. Anyways, what are our plans for Halloween? We should totally dress up like sexy angels! I think that’d be so cool. Like, Clint’s party won’t be ready for us.”
“Oh, about that Annie…”
“God, what now (y/n)?”
“I was actually planning on spending Halloween night taking Tommy and Tubbo trick-or-treating with my brothers and dad. I won’t be able to go with you guys, I’m sorry.”
The group groaned loudly. “C’mon (y/n), you never hang out with us anymore.”
“Oh my god (y/n) you still go trick-or-treating? We’re juniors.”
“I’m sorry, I’ve just been busy with my AP classes and studying for the SAT. My team captain’s really been pushing the team hard with volleyball practice. State finals are soon and we want first this year.”
“No matter how much studying you do, you’re gonna fail. You’re stupid, so why try? Just give up and hang out with uuussss.”
“Yeah (y/n),” Adrien looked at you suspiciously, “you’ve been ignoring us lately. I thought we were friends. Do you even wanna be friends anymore?”
You felt a flare of panic flare up in your gut. “I do! I-I just have so much going on right now. It’s starting to get hard to juggle everything.”
“We’re starting to think that you don’t like us anymore, we want our (y/n) back!” Sammy whined. The others agreed with her, making you feel guilty. You were ignoring them, it was selfish in your opinion. You supposed that you could skip out on taking Tommy and Tubbo trick-or-treating, there’ll be other years you could take them.
“I guess I can take Tommy and Tubbo another year. They’d just have to go without me this year.”
They cheered, giving you praise. You beamed at that, they seemed down lately and you loved it when they’d give you compliments. They didn’t do that much, so that made their praise more special to you. You strived to get compliments.
You four went off to your separate first classes for the day. Yours was statistics, a class you’ve been struggling in lately. You didn’t know anybody in there except for your oldest brother Techno, so you tried to stick with him. Unfortunately, the teacher’s seating chart placed you both on opposite ends of the room, probably because of your last names indicating that you’re siblings. You placed your stuff down on the table and plopped down into your seat, already drained. You had a long day ahead of you; you had a major AP world history test in your next class, you had to give a presentation in your AP english class that was worth a quarter of your final grade, and you had a semifinals volleyball match that would last until late in the night. If your team won, you would be going to state finals, so it was a lot of pressure on your shoulders. You were the main setter, so you had to really focus tonight if you were going to score your team points.
“Alright class, pull out your homework!”
Fuck, you had homework? You looked in your folder, only to see the unfinished sheet full of equations you didn’t understand staring back at you tauntingly. Mr. Mullins walked over to your desk, took one look at your blank homework, and just walked right past you. Another big fat zero in the gradebook for you, just what you needed. At least he wasn’t in the mood to berate you today. You didn’t need any more stress piled onto your shoulders.
The lesson felt like it dragged on forever with you frantically trying to copy down the notes on the board and trying to understand the content at the same time. Overtime, he would call students up to the board. Hopefully, he would skip over you today. “Ms. Minecraft.” Goddamn it, you spoke too soon.
Your head perked up and you looked at him. “Yes sir?”
“Come up to the board and solve this.”
Gulping, you felt panic rise up in you and stood up with shaky knees. On the board was part of the newer content he was just teaching. Something that you understood only a little bit better than the rest, and that’s not saying much. You still didn’t understand the content completely. Your writing was shaky as you wrote what you thought was right on the board. Finding the answer, you circled it and looked at Mr. Mullins. He looked disappointed.
“That’s wrong, Ms. Minecraft. Please sit down.”
You felt like your face was on fire as you saw the entire class burning holes into you with their eyes. Though they looked dead inside, as per usual with any morning class full of tired teenagers, their effects still took hold on you. You wanted to crawl into a dark hole and die. You sat back down and stared at your note packet, you couldn’t focus on the lecture anymore. Your attention was fully on your surroundings, you were hyper aware of every little whisper and bouncing leg in your peripheral vision. You could feel yourself spiraling, usually that wouldn’t happen until after your third class. Today was going to be rough.
The loud chime of the bell startled you out of your thoughts. You shakily put your papers back into your binder and put the binder back into your backpack. Right as you were about to walk through the door, you heard Techno catch up to you. “Hey, you good?”
“Yeah Tech, I’m just peachy.”
“Are you su-”
“Technoblade. I’m fine. Now if you excuse me, I have to get to my next class. I have an important presentation I’ve gotta prepare for.”
Without giving him any room to argue, you rushed off to your english class. You had Adrian and Annie in your class. For your presentation, you were paired up with people that you hardly knew. At least they did their part in the project, you were certain you were going to die if you got paired up with Adrian and Annie again. You loved them, but they never did any part of their portion of work. They left it to you to finish at midnight the day the project was due. To be fair, they both told you they had family emergencies, so you covered for them just that once.
You pulled out your flashcards only to have them knocked out of your hand when someone bumped into you. You quickly crouched to pick them up so you could have them in order by time class started. “Oops, sorry love.”
It was Annie. She and Adrian towered over your crouched form smirking at you. Looking back down to rearrange your cards, you murmured “it’s ok.”
“Are you ready for this presentation, I know I am.”
You smiled a little. “Actually, I think I’m going to ace this. English is my best subject.”
“Yeah (y/n), I wasn’t asking you. I was talking to Annie. Besides, you’re probably going to fail this.” Adrian scoffed.
“Thank you for asking, Adrian,” Annie shot a pointed look at you, “at least someone cares.”
The bell rang, signifying the start of your second block. You felt like you had a lump in your throat blocking your breathing. If Adrian, one of the smartest kids in your english class, said that you were going to fail, then you probably were going to fail. That would take a huge hit on your grade, this project was worth a quarter of your final grade after all. You were zoned out for the entirety of your classmate’s presentations putting yourself into a spiral. You jumped when Mr. Todd, your teacher, called your group up to present.
You stood stiffly in the middle of your two groupmates and clutched your flashcards with clammy hands. Luckily, your part of the presentation was not first. When it came to your part, you were stuttering and tumbling over your words. You even dropped your flashcards in front of everybody, causing half the class to snicker. Your face burned as you hurried to pick them up and your other groupmate took this as a signal to continue the presentation. You still had an important point to make that was integral for the set up to your other groupmate’s part of her presentation. You stared at your flashcards for the rest of the presentation.
When the bell rang, you made a mad dash out of the classroom. You didn’t want to talk to anybody, especially not Adrian or Annie. It was a relief that you had your lunch period at the moment. You could hide yourself in the bathroom nobody used and let your panic attack ride itself out.
You ducked inside a stall and sat on the toilet, bringing your knees up to bury your face in them. The tears and panic you were holding in all day let itself out with explosive effects. You started to hyperventilate as you muffled your sobs with your knee. Your chest painfully clenched so you couldn’t breathe. Your limbs felt like they weighed two tons each and they were shaking intensely. You didn’t hear the end of the lunch bell ring. By the time you calmed down slightly, you were five minutes late to AP world history.
You packed your stuff up in a hurry, power walking through the halls. You probably looked like shit, but you didn’t care, you had a class to get to and a test that you probably wouldn’t be able to finish now. You lost ten minutes of your test time. When you tried to open the closed door, you found that it was locked. You had to knock if you wanted to get in. You raised a shaking hand to knock, but the door was opened by a less-than-impressed Ms. Osborne. She ushered you to your desk and gave you your unit test.
You couldn’t focus. The multiple choice section was usually a breeze to you, but you couldn’t comprehend any of the questions. When you could comprehend them, you couldn’t concentrate on choosing an answer. You did your best to find the correct answers, but you were almost positive that at least half of them were wrong. Your handwriting was nearly incomprehensible and your essay topic was something you didn’t study for. When you were done with half of the body paragraphs, the bell rang and you had to turn in your unfinished test.
You had your independent online psychology course next in the library. You usually worked alone secluded in a corner deep inside the library where nobody went. You would get some solace in being alone. Maybe you’d calm down enough so that you could ride home with your brothers and not go for a long walk so you could avoid them.
You settled down in the comfortable chair and pulled out your laptop to get started. Psychology was your favorite class. It was easy for you to understand, it didn’t have much of a workload attached to it, and it was fun to learn about. It always calmed you down reading about the intricate workings of the brain.
By time the day was over, you got most of your psychology work done and you were on your way to the car you shared with Technoblade and Wilbur. You took out your spare keys and slumped against the window in the backseat. You were absolutely drained after your terrible day and you still felt panic swirling deep within you, waiting for the right moment to strike.
You stretched out your legs across the seat and leaned your back against the door. For the first time that day, you felt peaceful. You still had at least fifteen minutes to yourself until your brothers would start to make your way to the car. You felt the panic subside slightly and you fully relaxed. You closed your eyes and let yourself drift off into a light sleep. You needed your energy for tonight’s match.
The door you were leaning on swung open and you tumbled backwards smacking the back of your head against the metal frame of the car and reverse scorpioning onto the pavement. Your entire upper back and the back of your head exploded in pain and your lower back hurt slightly from having your back bent uncomfortably. You heard laughter above you as you felt tears of pain start to slip out of your eyes. Your legs swung out from their place above your face and landed on the ground with a painful thump.
You saw three blurry figures above you laughing at your pain. You reached up with a shaky hand to wipe at your tears and saw Adrian, Sammy, and Annie. They were cackling as you shakily stood up and sat on the comfortable seats of the car. You waited patiently for them to calm down.
Eventually, Sammy calmed down enough to explain what happened to you through chuckles. “I’m sorry (y/n), it was just too good to resist. You should’ve seen your face.”
She and the others broke back into uncontrolled laughter as they remembered your embarrassing fall. You were used to their antics, and quite frankly it felt good to make your friends laugh, even if it were at your own expense. Just as they were calming down once again, you saw Wilbur and Techno walk out the front doors of the school laughing at something the other said. Annie and Sammy heard their laughter and quickly turned around to watch them. They had massive crushes on both of your brothers, many in the school did.
Your brothers made their way to your shared car and stopped to look at you in slight confusion. “(Y/n), were you crying? What happened?” Wilbur asked worriedly.
“Yea-”
“Oh Wilbur, it was terrible, (y/n) fell out of the car. I don’t think she closed the door before she leaned on it.” Annie interrupted you with a faked concerned tone, a complete contradiction to her reaction before your brothers came.
Techno hastily made his way to the driver’s side door. “Well, if she’s hurt we better get going, right Wilbur?”
“Yes! We better get going, please excuse us.” He sat in the passenger seat and closed the door without hearing Sammy and Annie’s desperate attempts to stop them so they could talk to them. Your brothers thought Sammy and Annie were annoying. They absolutely hated being around them.
Waving apologetically at your friends, you pulled yourself into the car and closed the door. Annie and Sammy looked offended that you had let Wilbur and Techno get away from them. Avoiding their eyes, you looked down at your tightly clasped hands. They were shaking slightly.
After pulling out of the parking lot, Techno glanced at you from the rearview mirror. “You ok (y/n)?”
“Yeah, my back just hurts and I have a headache.”
“Well, do you wanna go and get some ice cream? We still have some time left before we have to pick up Tommy and Tubbo. Dad doesn’t have to know,” Wilbur asked you.
You sighed, you wanted nothing other than to take a nap before your match. “Sorry, but I need to watch what I eat today. We have semifinals tonight and I can’t have anything sugary. I just wanna go home and take a nap.”
Your brothers were quiet for the rest of the car ride until you reached your driveway. Techno twisted his body around in his seat to look at you after he put the car in park. “Did you actually fall out of the car?”
Shit, should you tell him the truth? If you did, they would almost certainly get mad at your friends. Sammy and Annie would never forgive you if you turned your brothers against them. You decided that you would take one for the team again. “Yeah, I wasn’t paying attention.”
Techno snorted. “Well, that was stupid,” he jokingly said. “Next time you’re gonna get run over by a parked car.”
You knew that he meant that as a joke, but it still stung. Stamping your emotions down, you laughed with him and Wilbur. It was stupid of you to do, you shouldn’t have let your guard down if you weren’t at home.
You winced as you slung your bag on your back and walked the best you could back into your house. Your upper back was killing you. You made a beeline to the bathroom and rummaged through the medicine cabinet looking for some pain relief pills. You took some and shambled off to your room to take your well earned nap. You set your alarm’s setting to its loudest volume and passed out.
You jolted up and gasped when you felt a wave of pain hit your upper back. You blearily looked at the time. You had a little under two hours before you had to get back to the school for your match. You groaned when you pulled yourself up, your head pounding with every turn. You pulled yourself out of bed and once again took some pain pills. You went downstairs to grab an apple or something to eat. Your dad was at the stove stirring something around in a pot.
He turned to look at you with an excited smile. “You ready for your match tonight? You’re gonna kill it!”
You only nodded halfheartedly and plopped yourself down at the table with your apple. Philza frowned at your lack of enthusiasm, but he figured that it was just because you just woke up from a nap. You’d bounce back eventually.
“Wilbur told me that you fell out of the car? How’d you do that?”
You shrugged, wincing slightly as it moved your back slightly. “Dunno, must’ve not closed the door.”
Philza was at your side in a hurry, his hands hovering over your shoulders. “Did you get hurt? Show me where it hurts.”
“My back and the back of my head.”
“Can I move your shirt so I could look?”
“Sure, go ahead.”
You felt him gently pull the neck of your t-shirt away from your body to peek at your back. You heard his breath hitch as he looked. Was it that bad? “Good god (y/n),” he breathed out.
“What, is it bad?”
“Don’t you feel how bad it is? Your entire back is bruised. I think there’s some blood too.”
“Damn.”
“First, language. Second, that’s all you have to say? Aren’t you in pain?”
“Yeah, but the pain pills are gonna kick in soon. I’ll be fine.”
“Would you be able to play tonight? I really think you should sit this one out.”
“No, I’m playing tonight Dad.”
“(Y/n),” oh no, he was using his stern dad voice. “It’s not a good idea to play tonight. You’re hurt, I’m sure they’ll understand if you sit this one out.”
You felt frustration rise up in you. “We’re in the semifinals. They need me, I’m the main setter. They’d lose without me playing.”
“(Y/n), I’m serious. You’re not playing today.”
“Dad, I am playing today. Look, I’ll talk to Coach Williams to see if I could be rotated out more often. I know she’d let me.”
He stared at you for a while before sighing. He knew there was no convincing you. “...Fine. But you better talk to Coach Williams about sitting out for a bit if your back hurts too much or I swear I’ll drag you off the court myself.”
You smiled a little at the small victory. “Thank you! I promise I’ll sit out if needed.”
He quirked an eyebrow at you. “If needed?”
You sighed, “when needed.”
He walked over to the pot, stirring the contents slightly. “That’s better. Dinner’s almost ready, I made some pasta.”
“It smells good, but I think I’m skipping out on it for today. I already ate this apple and if I eat any more I’ll probably hurl on the court.”
He made a displeased noise in the back of his throat, “fine, but you’re eating something when we get home tonight.”
He walked off to go get your brothers and Tubbo for dinner. You could hear their booming steps racing down the stairs towards the kitchen. They raced into the kitchen and almost crashed into the back of your chair. You stood up and looked at the two excitable fifth graders. “Careful boys, don’t want you getting hurt.”
“You’re no fun (y/n),” Tommy whined.
“Sure, sorry bout that,” Tubbo beamed at you.
You chuckled, making your way upstairs to get ready for your match. You took off your clothes with great difficulty and slipped on your jersey and your spandex shorts. They were way too short for your tastes, but you couldn’t wear longer ones, they’d just get in the way. You fondly remembered how your dad flipped out when he first saw you in them, he hated them with a burning passion. He still hates how short they are.
When you were struggling with pulling your hair back into a tight, sleek ponytail, the back of your head throbbed continuously with pain. You most likely bruised your scalp.
You slipped on your shoes that were made specifically for playing volleyball and headed downstairs. You were met with Tommy and Tubbo jumping in excitement seeing you in your uniform. They loved going to your matches, even if they would always pass out in the car after them because matches usually ended late at night. You grabbed your dad’s keys and headed to his car. Before you could lead the boys out the door, Philza’s voice stopped you.
“(Y/n), coat.”
You huffed, grabbing your coat and putting it on before tossing him his keys. You four got into the car and set out for the high school. The short drive was filled with Tommy and Tubbo asking you questions about volleyball and encouraging you. “(Y/n), you’re gonna kick their butts!”
“Yeah!” Tubbo cheered
Despite their voices causing a spike of pain to shoot throughout your head, you laughed at their enthusiasm. It was always nice to hear your little brother and pseudo brother in the stands cheering you on, they were your and your team’s personal cheerleaders.
Not long after you got to the school, you were stretching with your team on the gym’s floor. Your posse found their way into the stands, sitting in the front row. The away team watched your team like a hawk, analysing every single player for any weakness. It was because of them that you tried to not show any pain when you moved your back. You talked to Coach Williams before the team stretch and she was obviously sympathetic with your situation. She agreed to switching you out with the standby setter every few rotations.
The echo of the whistles caused pain to ring in your head every time someone scored or a foul was called. Your team captain, Haley, was constantly, yet discreetly checking on you throughout the game since she was always next to you. She was the team’s main spiker after all.
The game droned on and on before you realized that the opposing team was targeting you when they were offensive. They probably realized that you were injured a round ago. You tried your best to block every ball that was sent your way, but a few managed to slip past you when you couldn’t move fast enough. This team was good, but your team was better.
The score during the final round was tied and the clock was on it’s last ten seconds as the ball soared your way. You dove to hit it, landing on your shoulder on the hard floor and hitting it up high enough for Haley to spike the ball down. The crowd went wild as the ball bounced off from the opposite end of the court almost simultaneously with the screeching of the referee’s whistle, signifying the end of the game and your team’s victory.
You laid on the floor in pain, you thought you must’ve pulled your tender muscles in your back and shoulder. It hurt to move it. You felt one of your teammates grab your hand to yank you up into a giant full team group hug. You yelped slightly in pain as you felt arms press against your back and hands firmly patting your bruised shoulders. You were whisked away into the locker room to change into the pajamas you brought with you.
“(Y/n), are you alright? That was a pretty hard fall.” Haley’s soft voice asked you. You felt your heart sing in your chest.
“Yeah Hales, I’m fine. I just pulled a few muscles.”
Her perfectly shaped eyebrows furrowed together, “are you sure? As your team captain and your friend, I’m worried about you.”
You couldn’t help the smile that spread across your face. You felt warm knowing that she cared about you. “I’m sure, worrywart.”
She rolled her eyes playfully and breathed out a soft laugh. “Sorry for asking, grump.” Her laugh sounded like music to your ears.
Your phone vibrated in your pajama pocket, alerting you of your family waiting for you in the car and for you to hurry up. You sighed, “sorry Hales, I gotta go. Dad’s getting impatient.”
She gave you a small smile. “Oh, well, tell your family I said hi! Good work on the court today, I wouldn’t ask for a different setter.”
You felt your cheeks warm up and you watched with wide eyes as she left the locker room. Your phone vibrated again, your dad was really starting to get impatient.
You walked out of the school as fast as you could to find your dad’s car waiting for you up front. Jumping in and softly closing the passenger side door, you slumped against the window. “(Y/n),” Tommy’s tired voice slurred. “That. Was. Pog…”
You glanced back to see him and Tubbo snoring away in their seats. Your match was more exciting than usual, so that must’ve really tired them out. You chuckled, turning back around to lean against the window. You took care not to put any weight on your shoulder or back.
“(Y/n), you were amazing out there, but why did you dive for that ball? That fall looked like it hurt.”
You hummed tiredly, “thanks Dad. I just did what I thought would win us the game. We’re going to finals!” You quietly sang.
“Did you hurt your shoulder?”
“I actually don’t know, but I think I might’ve pulled a few muscles. Nothing too bad.”
“...I scheduled a doctor’s appointment for you tomorrow morning during your first and second blocks. I want you to get your back, shoulder, and head looked at. You looked miserable the entire match.”
You sighed, too tired to argue, “mmk.”
He chuckled before the car fell into a comfortable silence. The gentle bouncing of the car and the subtle hum of the engine was lulling you to sleep. Your eyelids were drooping by the time you pulled into your driveway.
You drug yourself out of the car and into the house, leaving Philza with the sleeping boys. You walked straight to your room and plopped down on your bed, passing out instantly for the second time that day.

Pairing: Shy!Peter Parker x Reader
Request by @satanswitchings : reader asks a very shy Peter to help her with her math homework. They become close, but Peters feelings get hurt when reader won’t admit they’re friends in school

“Hey, wait up.”
Peter stopped in his tracks when he heard your voice from behind him in the hallway. He turned around slowly just as you caught up to him. You gave him your million dollar smile and ran your fingers through your hair, knowing exactly what you were doing.
“It’s Peter, right?” You asked, but you knew the answer. He’d sat in front of you in math half the year and though he never raised his Ahmed or participated in class, he aced every test. The same, however, could not be said for you.
Peter gulped and nodded rapidly, not trusting his voice enough to speak.
“Cool.” You smiled. “So, I have no idea what we just learned. I paid attention and took notes but it still doesn’t make sense to me. I um, I saw you got a 100 on the test. Are you good at math?”
It took Peter a minute to process what you had even said. He was focusing so hard on listening that he didn’t listen at all. He blinked a few times and forced himself to nod, internally kicking himself for being too shy to speak.
“Well, I’m not. Like, at all.” You sighed and shifted your books in your arms. Peter’s eyes clocked the math test on top of your notebook with a failing grade. “I was wondering if you could help me out with the homework? Logarithms for right over my head.”
Peter made sure to listen this time and wordlessly took off his backpack. He went into his red math folder, because math is red, and handing you his completed homework. Your eyes widened in surprise at how easy it was to get it as you looked over the sheet.
“Oh, thanks. I’ll see you-“ You looked up to thank him but he was already gone.
“-later. What a little weirdo.” You chuckled to yourself and put his homework in your folder.
“Who was that?” Your friend Gwen came up to you to ask as she squinted her eyes in Peters direction.
“I don’t know. Some boy in my math class.” You lied. “He gave me his homework though.”
“Nice. I love getting nerds to help me.” She nudged you teasingly with her elbow.
“You’re such a bitch. I love it.” You teased her back as you walked to your next class.
You were walking by the library the next morning when you spotted Peter inside, sitting alone at a table. You went in and took the seat across from him, chuckling a little as he slowly looked up at you in disbelief. A blush spread from the bridge of his nose all the way down his neck as you smiled at him.
“Hey. Thanks for letting me copy it.” You greeted him as you gave him back his math work.
“N-no problem.” He stammered, not looking at you as he put in back in his folder.
“Ahh. So you do speak.” You commented, pleasantly surprised to hear his voice for the first time. He gave you a weak smile and quickly looked away, eyes going back to his Spanish homework. You noticed what he was doing and furrowed your eyebrows. His homework was barely done and it was due later that day. You knew because you were in the same class and breezed through it the night before.
“Is that for Señor Kuhn’s class?” You nodded towards his paper. He looked at you quickly and nodded as he toyed with the cap of his pen.
“You know it’s due today, right?” You asked just to make sure he knew.
“Spanish isn’t my speciality.” He said softly as he brushed some hair out of his eyes.
“Really?” You wondered. “I thought everything was your specialty.”
You knew Peter was a smart kid, some might even call him one of the schools nerds. It surprised you to hear he also struggled with schoolwork.
“I, um, can’t really figure things out without an equation.” He was barely audible but you still heard him. He was painfully shy, and that made him all the more endearing to you.
“Well, Spanish is kinda like an equation.” You told him. “You add the subject to the verb to get the conjugate. Like, this is your homework and you didn’t do it. No hiciste la tarea. I did do the homework. Hice la tarea. Does that make sense?”
“Yeah.” He smiled a little. “Kinda.”
“Here.” You took out your Spanish homework and handed it to him. “You can copy mine. I owe you one for the math homework.”
“Thanks.” He didn’t look at you as he accepted the paper, but his tone told you he was grateful.
“You can look at me, you know.” You chuckled. “You won’t turn to stone or anything.”
Peter’s face flamed red again as you acknowledged his shyness. As much as he wanted to talk to you, he didn’t know how. The words came to mind but died in his throat, leaving him speechless.
“You don’t talk much, do you?” You asked softly, but not meanly. Peter shook his head as he slowly looked at you, a sheepish look on his face.
“Not really.” He mumbled.
“Thats okay.” You shrugged. Talkings overrated. I’ll, uh, I’ll see you around?”
Peter nodded eagerly at you as you stood up from the chair. You waved at him, and he weakly waved back. As soon as you were out of sight, he banged his head on the desk a few times out of embarrassment. The girl he’s been crushing on since third grade had finally noticed him and he couldn’t hold it together long enough to speak to her. He picked his head up and sighed, eyes flickering over to your Spanish homework. He smiled a little at your unmistakable handwriting before picking up the paper and copying the answers down.
This was the first of my many homework trade offs. He’d give you the math homework and you’d give him the Spanish, an arrangement that benefited the both of you.
“Peter.” You came up to him the following week. “Did you happen to do the math homework last night? I got up to number 7 and my mind shut down. It was totally lost on me.”
Peter silently handed it to you, already having it ready since he knew he’d run into you between classes.
“Thank you so much.” You sighed in relief. “I have the spanish, if you need it.”
“Thanks.” Peter mumbled as he took the Spanish from you. “Bye.”
“Bye.” You called after him, but he had already run away.
He came to your locker the next morning with the math homework in his hand, wordlessly holding it out to you.
“Oh my God, thanks.” You took it and slipped it into your folder. “Stay here, I’ll get the Spanish.”
Peter stood there in silence as you began to rummage through your locker. He peered inside, smiling to himself at all the pictures of you and your many friends you had hanging up. Your lives couldn’t be more different, but this single thread tied you together.
“Are you on the Decathlon team?” You asked suddenly as you took out your Spanish folder. Peters face flushed as he nodded, too shy to speak. You got the homework out but didn’t give it to him just yet, knowing he’d run away once you did.
“Is it fun?” You asked. “I almost signed up freshman year until I found out you have to take a bus all the way to Washington DC every year. I get crazy motion sickness.”
“It’s fun. I- I like it.” He stammered, surprised at you making small talk with him. Though you’d never admit it to your friends, you liked Peter. You liked him a lot, in fact. He was far better than the jocks you had pinning after you. You appreciated his help with homework, but you wanted more from him. Despite his obvious shyness, you were determined to get a conversation out of him.
“That’s cool. Do you do any other clubs?” You kept the conversation going just to keep him there.
“Marching band and robotics.” He told you, speaking a little louder now.
“Wow. So you’re like a total nerd, huh?” You joked as you shut your locker. Peter opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. His ears turned pink as he struggled to talk to you.
“Relax. I’m just teasing.” You assured him as you squeezed his arm. “I think robotics are cool. Have you built one yet?”
“I’ve built a few.” He nodded. “It’s probably not the kind of robots you’re thinking of, though. It’s mostly machines that can complete basic tasks.”
“That’s the most I’ve ever heard you speak at once.” You smiled happily. “Here’s the Spanish.”
“Thank you.” He mumbled through a smile as he took it. “Uh, I’ll see you later. Bye.”
And with that, Peter bolted away without another word. You laughed to yourself at his odd behavior before one of your friends came up to you.
“Hey girl.” She greeted. “Who was that?”
“No one.” You lied again, wondering briefly why you even did it. “Let’s go to homeroom.”
In a slight change of events, Peter was the one to approach you the following week. He spotted you in the library and had every intention of minding his own business when he realized you were crying. He couldn’t be totally sure because you had your hands over your face, but your body language told him you were very upset. He took a deep breath and smacked himself on the cheek before walking up to your table.
“Hey.” He said softly, startling you a little as you looked up. You quickly wiped your face free of tears and gave a weak smile, gesturing for him to sit down.
“Hi.” You nodded, averting your eyes so he couldn’t tell how glassy they were.
“You okay?” He asked as he slid a packet of tissues towards you. You laughed sadly as you accepted the packet, quickly taking one out to dry your eyes.
“This is so embarrassing.” You sniffled. “I cannot understand this math for the life of me. You know I got a 67 on the last test? I’m gonna fail this class.”
“You won’t fail.” Peter assured you. “You just need to practice.”
“I try to but I get frustrated when I can’t understand the problem and then I stop. How is it so easy for you?” You asked desperately.
“The same way Spanish is easy for you.” He said. “Different people have different skills.”
“But math is a basic skill that we learned when we were five. The teacher told me if I fail one more test, I’m gonna go to summer school. I’m so stupid.” Yoh began to cry again, turning your face so he wouldn’t see. Peter felt a strong urge to walk away due to his inter hatred of awkward situations, but he felt a stronger urge to comfort you. He got out of his seat and took the one beside you instead, placing a gentle hand over yours. You turned your head sharply in his direction at the unexpected contact, eyes flickering from your hands to his face.
“You’re not stupid.” He said at the loudest you ever heard him.
“Then why can’t I get this?” You whispered.
“Um, I…I don’t…” Peter struggled to find the words to say to make you feel better. He frowned and shook his head, cursing himself for being shy.
“It’s okay, Peter.” You said suddenly. “I shouldn’t even be talking to you about this. I’m sure you have your own things to deal with, you don’t need me to burden you with mine.”
“You’re not being a burden.” He found the words this time. “Doing the homework is what helps me remember how to solve the equations. Since you’re just copying my work, you’re not getting the extra practice.”
“You’re probably right. Actually, I bet you’re exactly right.” You sighed as you looked down at the math you’d been trying to figure out for the last hour. You chewed your bottom lip as you through about what he said and came up with a solution.
“Could I get your number?” You asked him. “Maybe it’ll help me if you explain the homework to me instead of just giving me the answers.”
“Oh, sure.” Peter gulped nervously as he took out his phone, handing it to you with shaking hands. You typed your number into it, smirking at his Lock Screen, a picture of him and Mr. Stark.
“Cute background.” You mumbled as you handed his phone back. “You can put your number into mine as well. I have a feeling you’re not one for texting first.”
“That’s, um, that’s true.” He laughed shyly as he put his number in your phone. “You may be struggling with math, but you’re excellent at reading people.”
“I do my best.” You shrugged. “I’ll talk to you later, Peter.”
Just as you promised, a text from you appeared on Peters screen later that evening.
“Hey Peter. It’s Y/n.”
Peter gulped nervously and picked up his phone, thumbs dancing over his keyboard as he thought of a response.
“Hi. Need help with math?” He texted back.
“Eager to get started I see. We could talk first, you know.” You teased him, hoping he would get your sarcasm through the text.
“About what?” He asked, having literally no idea what a girl like you would possibly want to talk about with a boy like him.
“Idk. Our days, the weather, the fictional character from our childhood that we projected on. Whatever you want to talk about.” You sent, making him laugh.
“I have nothing to say.” He wrote back. He knew it sounded lame, but he was being honest.
“Then I’ll start. What’s your favorite fruit?” You texted. The random quetsion made him chuckled as he rolled over and hugged his pillow.
“Strawberries.” He answered back.
“This is the part where you ask me what my favorite fruit is. That’s how a conversation works.” You wrote, poking fun at him once again.
“I’m not good at conversations.” He reminded you, a cheeky smile on his face.
“So I see. Come on, Peter. Let me pick that pretty little brain of yours.”
Peter rubbed his face as he grinned, blushing over you once again.
“I already told you I like strawberries. Idk what else I can say. That’s basically my whole personality right there.” He texted you, letting a little bit of his personally shine through.
“Hark! 😳Is that a sense of humor? You’re three dimensional after all” You wrote back.
“I have a glimmer of a personality every now and then” He laughed as his own joke as he texted you.
“I’m shocked. I thought you were just the token cute but shy background character that gets his arc in the third season” You sent. Peter let out a shaky breath when he read that you called him cute. If he didn’t know any better, he’d think you were flirting.
“Oh I’m much more. I only think about the way I said “here” during attendance for HALF the day now. Used to be much longer 😏”
You laughed out loud when you read his text, loving that he was finally showing you his personality.
“Say less 🙈😍” You texted back.
“Sometimes I hold eye contact when I’m really feeling wild” He wrote you.
“BABY stop you’re turning me on”
“One time I coughed in class instead of holding it in even though I already coughed a few minutes before” Peter was feeling much more comfortable with you now, your reaction to his texts giving him the confidence to go on.
“You’re such a bad boy 🥵 Do you ever ask to go to the bathroom during class?”
“Never 😉” He sent, making you giggle.
“That’s so hot 🥴” You texted him, imagining the blush it would put on his face.
“I’m glad you think so. I’m just a little 👉👈”
You sat up in bed and laughed loudly, falling in love with him with every text. It’s always the people you don’t expect who make you smile the most.
“BAHHAA I cannot believe you. You should talk more!! You’re actually really funny” You texted him, hoping he would listen. If he had been this open in school, you would’ve noticed him years ago.
“You mean I’m not just a pretty face? 😔🥺” He stole your joke from before. It was a minute before you answered, his heart pounding as he waited.
“You’re that too” You finally said, making him smile.
“Don’t get used to this.” He told you. “It’s a lot easier to talk over text. It may be months before I make eye contact with you”
“Well lucky for you I’m a patient person”
“Are you ready to do the math now?” He asked, feeling his social better beginning to drain.
“Yes I’ve gotten my Peter fill. Can we FaceTime?” You asked and his heart skipped a beat. Not knowing what to say, he turned to humor.
“Sure but I’ll only show my ceiling and barely speak 🥰” He wrote. You let out a breathy laugh and shook your head at his antics.
“That’s okay.” You sent. “I’m calling you now”
Peter sat up in bed and swiped his hands through his hair to tame it before your contact lit up on his screen. He took a deep breath before clicking the answer button.
“Hey. What are you doing?” Your smile appeared on his screen. Your phone was propped up against something as you sat at your desk, homework all out in front of you. A smile tugged at Peter’s lips as he saw a glimpse into your room, and you think thinking the exact same thing. Your walls were full of pictures of friends and his were full of decathlon posters. They were different, but different was okay.
“I’m just laying in bed.” Peter told you. Only his eyes could be seen from his camera and as promised, you were looking at his ceiling.
“Aw. Without me?” You teased and shot him a wink. Peter’s face flamed red before he disappeared from your screen all together. You let out a laugh at the surprised squeak he made as he struggled to find words to say.
“Wait, come back.” You chuckled. “It’s so fun to flirt with you because of how red you get but I genuinely fear you’re gonna have a heart attack. Does your family have a history of heart problems?”
“No.” He answered your joke question seriously.
“Okay.” You nodded in satisfaction. “Then you looked really cute today.”
Peter’s face left the screen again but you heard him let out a flustered laugh, which made you laugh as well.
“Let me see your face.” You whined as you leaned your cheek on your hand.
“No.” Peter laughed. “Open your textbook to page 56. There’s a good practice test I want you to do.”
“Okay, I see it.” You found the page and looked over the question. “How do you do number one?”
Your face timing sessions became a nightly routine as you tutored each other in your respective subjects. Peter eventually worked up the courage to ask you to come over to study for midterms, which you gladly accepted. Even after you got an 81 on the midterm, you continued to go to his house twice a week for studying. Two months later, he had become one of your best friends, even if he was still a little shy around you.
“I think of it as BAE.” Peter explained, lying on his stomach beside you on his bed. “Base, answer, exponent. Do you want to try this one?”
“Okay.” You nodded and took the pencil from him. “The base is 2. The answer is 8. And the exponent is 3?”
“That’s right.” Peter smiled but didn’t look at you. “You got it.”
“Finally.” You sighed in relief. “Do you think I’ll be ready for the test on Friday?”
“I think so.” He nodded as he wrote down another problem.
“I think so?” I need to hear your confidence, Peter.” You urged as you nudged him with your elbow.
“Fine.” He spoke up. “You’re going to ace this test, I know it. You are going to ace this test because you are smart and capable and I’m so proud of you.”
A shocked smile lit up your face at Peter’s words of encouragement.
“Wow. That was almost a normal volume. I’m impressed.” You remarked.
“Shut up.” He mumbled through a laugh as he went back to his equation.
“Sorry. I’m just teasing.” You assured him. “You can speak at whatever volume you want.”
Peter looked up from his notebook and smiled softly at you, holding your gaze for a moment before returning to his work.
“Hey.” You smiled in realization.
“What?” He wondered.
“You looked at me.”
“I always look at you.”
“Yeah, but you held eye contact with me.” You gushed. “You don’t normally do that.”
“I guess I’m getting more comfortable around you.” He shrugged bashfully as he averted his eyes. You knew he was getting overwhelmed, so you didn’t push the subject. It still meant the world to you, though, as he was finally coming out of his shell.
“Good.” You mumbled. “Good, I’m glad.”
Peter looked at you again with a shy smile, and you looked back. As you stared at each other, you saw his eyes drop to your lips before returning to your eyes. You picked up his signal and leaned in a little, but he quickly looked down and away. You pulled your bottom lip between your teeth and cleared your throat to hide your disappointment from him.
“Um, so do you want to start Spanish?” You suggested, not wanting to spend another minute in that moment.
“Y-yeah.” He stammered. “Let’s start Spanish.”
You walked into school the next day with a heavy heart after Peter rejected you. Being in the popular crowd, you were usually the one doing the rejecting. You had always assumed Peter wasn’t making the first move because he was shy, but now you knew it was because he didn’t feel the same. Your friends were already waiting for you at your locker, so you painted on a smile and let it go.
Peter spotted you at your locker and could immediately tell something was off. He knew you well enough to know when your smile was forced and he was a sneaking suspicion that he was the reason why. He hadn’t meant to dodge your kiss the night before. He wasn’t even entirely sure you were leaning in for one, which is why he short circuited and pulled away. He’d been beating himself up over it but had an idea of how to make it right. You were always encouraging him to be bolder in school, and he couldn’t think of anything bolder than walking up to you while you were with the popular kids. Before he could lose his nerve, he walked up to you and cleared his throat.
“Hi, Y/n.” He said a little louder than he was used to, surprising the both of you.
“Uh, hi Peter.” You looked at him briefly and quickly looked back at your friends. You couldn’t hear what they were saying anymore because of the range of emotions you were going through. You were frankly a little pissed at Peter for pulling away from the kiss, but you were also proud of him for having the courage to come up to you at school. That pride was currently being overshadowed by embarrassment as your friends gave you strange looks for talking to him. On any other day, you would’ve been happy to talk to him in public. But him pulling away from your kiss and then talking to you was sending you mixed signals that frustrated you to the point where you didn’t even want to speak to him.
“Um, do you think we could meet an hour later that usual today?” He asked sheepishly. “I have a feeling band practice is gonna run late.”
Your friends looked at you in amusement and one of them made kissy faces in your direction. Your face heated up in embarrassment and you decided you needed to get rid of Peter as quickly as possible.
“Sure. Whatever, that’s fine.” You said quickly, hoping he’d get the message and leave.
“Did have any trouble with the practice problems I gave you?” He asked and your jaw almost dropped. Your friends raised their eyebrows at you, looking for answers you didn’t want to give them.
“No.” You stated bitterly.
“Practice problems?” Gwen snickered and looked at you questioningly.
“It’s nothing.” You assured her before looking at Peter. “Is there something else you needed?”
“No.” He said, shocked by your bitter tone. “I’ll see you later.”
“Yeah.” You nodded vaguely and turned back to your conversation. Peter took that as his cue to leave and began to wonder if the way he was feeling was how he had made you feel the night before. If it was, he understood why you didn’t want to talk to him.
“What was that?” Your friend laughed tauntingly, making the rest of the group laugh as well.
“Nothing.” You dismissed quickly. “Let’s just go to class.”
Peter was already waiting for you in your room when you got home, the sight of him making you let out an angry huff.
“What was that?” You demanded with your hands on your hips.
“What?” Peter asked curiously as he looked up from him his notebook.
“This morning. You totally embarrassed me in front of my friends.” You whined.
“How did I embarrass you? All I did was talk to you.” He pointed out, hurt evident in his voice.
“Yes, and that’s how you embarrassed me.” You stated. “They don’t need to know that you and I are hanging out all the time and they certainly didn’t need to know that you’re giving me practice problems. Now they’re gonna think I’m stupid.”
“You’re not stupid for needing help.” He said quietly.
“But they don’t get that. I never wanted them to know about this, or us, or any of it.” You explained. “What you and I do in private is between us. You can’t just come up to me and act like…”
“Like we’re friends?” He finished your sentence as he stood up from your bed. Your face fell when you realized how bad it sounded. The hurt look on your best friends face, a look you put there, made your anger evaporate. You realized almost immediately that you were in the wrong and shouldn’t be scolding him.
“Peter, please don’t do this. You know I care about you. Love you, even.” You walked to him and put your hands on his shoulders. “You’re my best friend within these four walls. But when we’re at school, people expect me to be friends with girls like Gwen and boys like Flash. People like you and me don’t really hang out, you know?”
“And I expect you to be kind.” He snapped as he pushed your hands off. “Should I not do that? Are you not capable of that?”
“Why are you yelling at me?” You stepped back from him, knowing he was getting overwhelmed. “I’ve never heard you raise your voice above a mumble.”
“I’m yelling because I’m hurt.” He yelled, voice cracking at the end. “Are we even friends? Do you regard me as that much or am I just a tutor to you?”
“What are you talking about? Of course we’re friends.” You reached for him again but he pulled away.
“Well you’re being a bad one.” Peter shot back. Your face twisted in pain as he stared at you, both of your chests heaving. Peter tore his eyes away from you and went into his backpack, quickly getting out his math folder.
“Here.” He took your practice test from his folder and held it out to you. “You got them all right.”
You took the test and looked at in in disbelief, momentarily forgetting about the fight. You’d never gotten all of the questions right before. You looked up in time to see Peter leaving with his backpack.
Where are you going?” You grabbed his arm gently to stop him.
“Home.” He told you. “You don’t need tutoring anymore so I have no reason to stay.”
“We can still hang out. You’re not just my math tutor.” You made a desperate attempt for him to stay as the weight of your actions hit you. Peter laughed darkly before looking up at you, an amused look in his eyes.
“Would you ever admit that outside this room?” He asked.
“I…”
“Then I am just your tutor.” He spat. “Goodbye.
Peter managed to avoid you the next morning, dodging you all together until math class. You knew you had to focus on the test and not your fight, but all you wanted to do was make up with him. Once the tests were over and handed in, you took your shot.
“Hey.” You whispered as you poked him with your pencil. “How do you think you did?”
Peter didn’t turn around, which you partially expected.
“I bet you did really well.” You tried again. “I actually think I did well too, thanks to you.”
Again, silence.
“Peter, please talk to me. I’m sorry about our fight.” You rubbed his shoulder kindly but he still didn’t move.
“You are my friend.” You said a little louder. “You’re my best friend. What can I do to prove that to you?
Peter was tempted to say something to you, but the bell rang before he could. He grabbed his books and hastily got out of his seat before you had a chance to to speak to him again. You grabbed your backpack and ran after him, determined to make this right.
“Excuse me, sorry.” You pushed past people to catch up to Peter. “Hey, Peter!”
When he didn’t answer, you called out again.
“Peter! Wait up.”
Still no answer, and you were starting to get frustrated.
“Hey! I’m talking to you.” You caught up to him and grabbed his hand. He looked at your hands before looking you in the eyes and dropping your hands harshly. You stood there stunned for a moment as he began to walk away until you decided you had enough.
“PETER PARKER.” You screamed, making everyone look at you. Every pair of eyes in the hallway was looking in your direction, but you were only looked at Peter.
Peter, who was about to pass away from the attention, by the way.
He looked around sheepishly as people cranes their necks to see who you were yelling at and felt his face turn redder than it ever had.
“You don’t talk much, and that’s fine.” You continued, loud enough for everyone to hear you. “I just need you to listen.”
Peter blinked a few times before nodded slowly, signaling that he would listen. You smiled in relief before digging in your backpack and pulling out your math test from earlier that day. You held it up over your head and turned in a circle so everyone could see it.
“I got an 92 on my math test last week.” You announced. “That’s the highest I’ve gotten since middle school and I couldn’t have done it without Peter tutoring me. I came to him for help with homework but I ended up with a best friend whom I love very dearly.” You were only looking at him now. “I will admit that behind closed doors and I will admit that here. But I also have to admit that I have not been a good friend and for that I am truly sorry.”
Peter smiled a little as the shocked looks of the crowd faded to nothing when he looked at you.
“You don’t have to do this here.” He whispered, but you weren’t finished yet.
“I haven’t even done it yet.” You half smiled as you shoved your test into your bag.
“Done what?” He asked as you walked up to him. You got to him and gave him an apologetic smile in advance for the attention you were about to draw to him.
“What I’ve been wanting to do for a long time now.” You told him. Peter barely had time to react before you put your hands on his face and pulled him into a kiss. You could feel his body tense up momentarily, so you pulled away just enough to whisper…
“Relax.”
Peter’s body did a better job at listening than he did as he slowly loosened his muscles. A hesitant hand found your waist and rested there as you wrapped your arms around his neck. You could feel the heat of his skin against your face and pulled away before he could get too overwhelmed.
“I.…just…heh…um - wow - uh…” He stumbled over his words as he looked at you with a shy smile.
“Don’t speak.” You laughed and shook your head. “Just kiss me.”

Hestia
– Goddess of the hearth, home and family
Mondays and Wednesdays always seemed to drag.
Thanks to her lack of Rowan in class, Aelin’s classes were boring and she found herself thinking of other things, rather than the notes she was supposed to be taking. Like the way Rowan’s eyes had been on her as she went down on him in the shower earlier than morning.
At his insistence, she’d begun using his shower for more than just sex purposes, as she’d so eloquently explained to him the week before. She was regularly staying over, getting ready for her own classes in the morning, just as he was. But whenever one of them followed the other into the tiled shower, it was used for practical reasons.
As well as sexual ones.
Suppressing a whine as she thought of the way Rowan had pinned her up against the cool tiles that morning, Aelin crossed her legs and checked her watch. Only another twenty minutes and then she had her break between classes. She wasn’t hungry, thanks to the protein bar she’d eaten just before this class started, and she was close to the gen ed building, so she decided she would drop by her mythology professor’s office. She had a few questions about the homework he’d assigned yesterday and face-to-face was always better to her than an email.
Once her anatomy professor was wrapping up, Aelin was tossing her books into a bag and hauling ass across campus. Rowan’s last class was wrapping up, too, and she didn’t want to miss him before he hurried off to do whatever else.
She could’ve texted him to stay put, but she didn’t want to ruin the surprise.
She made it to his building and dodged by those who were hurrying off to their other classes or their beds, and stopped at Rowan’s office door before giving it a halting knock.
It took him a second to answer, but when he did, he was handsome as ever.
His shirt sleeves were rolled up, the button down tucked into his trousers. When he saw it was Aelin at his office door, a silver brow lifted.
“Aelin,” he began, clearing his throat. “How may I help you?”
“I have some questions about the homework,” she began, voice low, even though no one else was around. “Can I come in for a second?”
Rowan moved aside before she had finished her question. With one last glance down the hall he shared with a few other first-year professors, he shut the door, sealing them into his office. The blinds were open, but on the third floor, it wasn’t like anyone could see the private meeting he and his student were about to have.
Even if he didn’t know what kind of meeting it was about to be.
“Are you on your lunch break?” She asked, leaning back against his desk.
He nodded. “Didn’t plan on taking lunch, but I’ve got a couple hours before my next class. Was going to work on some grading. Why?”
He had stepped closer, pausing beside one of the chairs he kept in front of the desk for students to sit in.
Aelin clearly had other ideas of where to sit though. With a smirk, she reached out and lightly gripped his shirt, pulling him towards her.
“You had questions about the homework,” he breathed, leaning away as she tried to kiss him.
It wasn’t that he wouldn’t kiss her. He just wanted to see her squirm.
And squirm, she did. “You know very well that I turned in the homework yesterday afternoon.”
She tried to kiss him again, but he fell away, even though his arms were around her waist.
“I don’t recall that,” he taunted. “Maybe you could remind me.”
“I turned it in just before I did this,” she crooned, and her lips found his.
Aelin kissed him, slowly, her arms snaking around his neck. She swore she would never tire of the feeling of his mouth on hers.
“Oh yeah,” Rowan muttered, against her lips. “Now I remember.”
It only took him a second to grab her hips and set her on top of his desk.
There was a clattering of something tipping over, probably a cup of pens or paper clips from the sound of it, but neither of them cared. Not as he gripped the outside of her thigh where her legs were wrapped around him, or her hand found its way into his hair. He was both frustrated and very glad she’d worn leggings today. While he wished she was wearing something with a bit easier access, it was probably a blessing in disguise that he couldn’t get his hand between her legs.
Or his mouth.
Or any other body parts.
That wasn’t stopping Aelin from rubbing against him, looking for friction, as their tongues battled and teeth occasionally clashed. She let out a quiet moan and he tugged on her hair, pulling her lips from his.
“We’re not fucking in my office,” he breathed, looking her in the eyes. “It is way too dangerous.”
She nodded, knowing and accepting the fact, but it didn’t mean she was done kissing him.
“Was this morning not enough?” He smirked, trailing his lips down her throat instead of returning to hers.
“It’s never enough,” she gasped. “Every time I’m away from you…”
Her words trailed off as their lips met. It was true. It was never enough. She was so fulfilled with Rowan, and the second he was gone, she longed for him.
“Come over tonight,” Aelin begged. “Stay with me tonight.”
Rowan groaned as his tongue slipped between her lips.
They stayed at Rowan’s nearly every night. The only times Aelin stayed at her own apartment was when she had an exam or homework she had to work on, without Rowan distracting her. Lysandra and Aedion had met Rowan over dinner a few nights before, though Aelin had insisted take out was much more her friends’ speed than a fully home cooked meal. However, Aelin had a lab due the following morning, so after dinner, Rowan had gone back home.
Alone.
“We have class tomorrow,” he replied, lips still on hers.
“So we’ll make sure we get up early.” Dragging her teeth across his jaw, she gripped his shoulders. “Bring over everything you’ll need to come straight to class.”
Rowan hesitated. “I don’t know.”
“We don’t live on campus,” Aelin said, quietly. “It’s not like I live somewhere surrounded by students.”
Rowan pulled back and met her gaze. “It’s important to you?”
Aelin nodded, arms still wrapped around the back of his neck. “I love being cooped up in your apartment. I really do. But, sometimes I wanna be cooped up somewhere else, too.”
Rowan huffed a laugh. “Alright.”
“Yeah?” Aelin asked, a soft smile painted across her light pink lips.
Rowan couldn’t help his own smile forming as he leaned forward and pulled Aelin closer to him as he kissed her, softly. They went on like that, dwelling in those slow, prolonged kisses. There was something personal, something exceptional about a long, slow kiss. Something sensual that made Aelin’s stomach feel like it was going to explode, even though it lacked that animalistic passion they had come to find within one another.
A quick knock at the door had them jumping apart, Rowan dragging a quick hand through his hair, not having a chance to reply before the door opened.
“Hey, Rowan, I was hoping you could— Oh.”
The pretty woman froze in the doorway, taking in the scene in front of her.
It was innocent enough, though Aelin’s lips were swollen from their kisses. That could easily be explained away, especially as her teeth found the bottom lip and gnawed on it.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you had an appointment,” she said, eyeing Aelin, who had thankfully gotten off the desk before she’d entered.
“It wasn’t officially booked,” he explained, slightly stepping in front of Aelin to keep her shielded. “Miss Galathynius had a few questions about the homework I assigned in class and about an upcoming project. She stopped by during her lunch break, since her schedule is so busy.”
Silence built in the office, and after a second, Rowan cleared his throat. “Did you need something, Remelle?”
“Maeve sent out an email about a mandatory department meeting for Thursday night,” she said, slowly, still looking at them both suspiciously. “A couple of us in the building were going to get drinks after, wanted to know if you wanted to come.”
Rowan cleared his throat. “Uh, yeah. Sure. I’ll plan on it.”
“Good,” Remelle said, a little too quickly. “And check your mailbox in the office. It’s full.”
With another look at Aelin, then at Rowan, Remelle left and the door fell shut behind her.
Silence enveloped the room.
Rowan slowly turned around to look at Aelin, whose face was pale.
“You couldn’t have locked the door?” she whispered.
Rowan scoffed. “Yeah, because that wouldn’t have been suspicious, being locked in here with a student.”
For some reason, the word student felt like a jab coming from him in that moment. Aelin’s back straightened. “I wasn’t aware that the receptionist randomly barges into your office. If a student found it locked, they probably wouldn’t think it was weird, at all. Offices around here are locked all the damn time.”
Rowan sighed and nodded. He stepped towards her and ran his hands up and down her arms, pressing a soft kiss to Aelin’s forehead. “You should go. There’s only so much we can talk about homework.”
Nodding, Aelin wrapped her arms around his waist, and he wrapped her up in his own. “I’ll see you after class?”
“I’ll run by my place to grab some things and pick up dinner on the way,” he promised, tilting her chin up to look at him. “I’ll see you later.”
She nodded and rose up on her toes to press a kiss to his lips. Grabbing her bag from the chair, she adjusted her messy bun, which was only a little messier than it had been before and slipped out the office door.
Leaning back on the spot Aelin had just been sitting in, Rowan took a quick moment to breathe before setting his desk to rights and heading down to check his community mailbox. It wasn’t full as Remelle had implied, but there were a few things in it, mostly department memos and notes from other professors. He ignored her suspicious look as he made his way back up the stairs to his office and settled behind his desk to work on the grading he’d planned to do during his lunch.
He was halfway through an essay from one of his upperclassmen when his email dinged on his laptop. It had gone off a few times since Aelin had left, but he’d ignored them, assuming they were automatic replies to Maeve’s email about the meeting.
Tapping on the track pad of his laptop to wake it up, he kept reading over the essay as his email came to life, but he waited until he was done to look over at the most recent notifications.
Freezing, Rowan’s eyes flashed over the subject of the email from Maeve three times before he actually had the nerve to open it.
Meeting in my office after your final class of the evening.
We need to have a talk.
*
Aelin felt as if she had been holding her breath for hours.
Which was exactly how long it had been since she had received her text from Rowan.
As someone who was not nervous or paranoid by nature, she hated the feeling of being so freaked out that she was nearly about to vomit. She had already cleaned her apartment once, and was pouring herself a glass of wine as she was deciding what she could clean next. Maybe she would clean out the fridge.
After downing her glass of wine, she did just that, throwing open the refrigerator door and emptying out what had been in there for over a week.
She didn’t even hear the front door open, nor did she hear her roommate and cousin walk into the kitchen.
“Ace?”
Aelin yelped, jumped, and spun around, nearly knocking over her glass of wine on the counter nearby. “What the hell?” she yelled. “You can’t just sneak up on people like that! Doesn’t anyone realize how fucking rude it is to just barge in?!”
Aedion’s brows shot up as Lysandra stepped forward. “Uh, everything okay?”
Aelin’s face fell into her hands as she leaned against the countertop. “Does it look like everything is okay?” she asked, words muffled.
“What happened?” Lysandra asked, gently prying Aelin’s hands from her face.
Her eyes were still shut, as if she could shut out the world. Taking a deep breath, she released it, answering in one, quick burst. “I think Rowan and I got caught.”
She heard something hit the floor, clearly dropped by Aedion, but Lysandra’s hands went slack on her wrist. “What do you mean?”
Letting her head fall to the countertop, she groaned once before standing up straight and looking at them. Aedion had indeed dropped the bag of pretzels he’d pulled from the cabinet.
“We both had long breaks today, so I stopped by his office to see him for a minute. I didn’t mean for anything to happen. I mean… Yeah, I kinda did. I kissed him first.”
“I don’t need to hear about this. Lys can fill me in,” Aedion muttered, scooping the bag of pretzels off the floor and heading for Lysandra’s bedroom.
“We didn’t fuck or anything,” Aelin sighed after he left. “But we did make out on his desk a bit. It was barely even PG-13.”
“So what happened?” Lysandra asked, getting another glass down and refilling Aelin’s glassed wine and filling one for herself. “How did you get caught?”
“The secretary walked in,” Aelin said, staring at a spot on the hardwood. “She didn’t see anything, we broke apart before the door opened, but… I don’t know. She sounded suspicious, looked suspicious.” Aelin took a sip from her glass. “I mean, seriously, who knocks but doesn’t wait for a come in before they open the damn door? It’s rude as hell.”
“I don’t wait before coming into your room,” Lysandra said.
“That’s different, we live together,” Aelin said, unable to control her chuckle.
Lysandra smiled, but it faded as she shook her head. “That man needs to learn how to lock his office.”
“That’s what I said!” Aelin agreed, and topped off her glass before it was even halfway empty.
“So, what?” Lysandra went on. “She came in but didn’t see anything. Maybe she just always looks suspicious. I’m sure nothing will come out of it.”
Without another word, Aelin took her phone out of her pocket and slid it across the counter. Lysandra slowly picked it up and read Rowan’s text.
Got an email from Maeve. I have to go to her office tonight. Says she needs to talk to me. Sounded urgent.
Aelin had texted back. Did she say what it was about?
No, Rowan had replied. But it doesn’t sound good.
“Have you heard from him since he sent these?” Lysandra asked, setting the phone down.
“No, but we’ve both been in class.” Aelin let her head fall to the countertop again. “He’s supposed to come over after he gets out. But now I’m wondering if that’s such a good idea. What if someone sees him getting here?”
“It’s not all students, and we’re not exactly social butterflies. We don’t know any of our neighbors,” Lysandra said, clearly trying to soothe her.
Aelin just shook her head. “I like him, Lys. A lot. I can see a future with this guy, but… What if this is all too much? It’s too dangerous. We’re jeopardizing our futures.”
Lysandra’s eyes softened. “The secretive part of your relationship is only temporary. Besides, he’s head over heels for you, too. Would it really be worth it to give that up?”
“What if Rowan is about to lose his job?” Aelin shot back. “Lys, I would never be able to forgive myself. I have to do something.”
“Always the hero,” Lysandra muttered. “Look, the best thing you can do right now is stay here, drink wine, and let it all play out. Rowan is a big boy. He can handle himself.” Aelin said nothing, so Lysandra went on. “I just want to see you happy. Does he make you happy?”
“Beyond. Happier than I’ve been in a long time,” she sighed, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against the counter. “I know it’s only been a few weeks, but… I care about him.”
“And it’s pretty damn clear that he cares about you, so sitting and waiting sucks, but that’s what you’ll have to do.” Lysandra crossed the kitchen and wrapped her best friend up in a hug. Aelin’s forehead fell to her shoulder. “I can send Aedion to get more wine if you want.”
Aelin nodded.
Lysandra chuckled and said, “Then that’s what we’ll do. Why don’t you—?”
A knock on the front door had Aelin’s head snapping up and she hurried from the kitchen. Throwing open the door, she found Rowan standing on the other side. Before he could say anything, she pulled him inside and wrapped her arms around his waist, burying her face in his chest. “Gods, I’ve been so fucking worried.”
To her surprise, he laughed quietly, and it only caused Aelin to lean back, eyes wide. “What could possibly be funny right now?”
“I’m not I’m trouble,” he whispered, arms going around her waist. “We’re safe, we’re fine.”
Aelin blinked, all anxiety fading from her body only to be replaced with confusion. “Why did Maeve call you into her office, then?”
“She just wanted to check how things were going.” He shrugged. “Being new, and her nephew, she just wanted to check in.”
“Gods, Rowan!” She shoved his chest, lightly. “You couldn’t have texted me that? I’ve been a nervous mess!”
“She’s not exaggerating,” Lysandra mumbled from behind them. “Hi, Professor.”
Rowan rolled his eyes. “Hi, Lysandra.”
As Lysandra headed towards her room, he looked down to where Aelin was staring at his chest. He tilted her chin up until she was forced to look at him. His brow furrowed and he was surprised to see silver lining her eyes. “Everything is okay, baby. Why are you crying?”
She shook her head and blinked, but wasn’t able to stop the single tear that spilled over. He wiped it away with his thumb. “I thought we got caught, that I had ruined your life.”
His heart nearly broke. “Aelin…” He wrapped her up in his arms again, holding her as tightly as he dared, as if he could keep her from falling apart. After a second, he leaned back so he could look at her, but didn’t let her go. “Being together isn’t a decision that just one of us has made. We both went into this relationship knowing the consequences. If something were to happen, if someone finds out, you aren’t ruining my life.”
Aelin snorted, and framed his face in her hands. “So we’d both be ruining your life?”
“No one’s life will be ruined,” Rowan promised. “I’m going to be with you, Aelin. Now, and when you graduate, we can have a normal relationship, whatever the hell that means. If you’ll have me, I’m not going anywhere.”
“That’s a big promise to make so early in our relationship,” Aelin breathed, running her thumbs across his cheeks.
“I have a good feeling about us,” Rowan followed, melting into her touch.
Leaning down, he pressed his lips to hers, but pulled back and smirked. “But maybe I’ll start locking my office, just in case you decide to make another unexpected visit.”
Aelin threw her head back and laughed, wrapping her arms around his neck as she rose up on her toes to kiss him again.
The day had stressed them both out, but throughout it all, there was only one thing Rowan could think about: he didn’t know what his future held, but there was one thing for sure.
He wanted Aelin in it.

PART 1
* * *
You didn’t mean to avoid Luke, it just kind of happened. Junior Year was no joke and it felt like every night and every weekend you had piles of homework to get done, so you sort of drifted from going to Julie’s house everyday. She didn’t mind, she understood just as much and kept you updated on how the band was doing. However, you still felt guilty for avoiding the boys. You were worried that Luke would think he scared you away by touching you, but you were feeling the exact opposite. You wanted to explore more and find out more but here you were, in your room at 12am trying to finish this nagging essay that was due in 8 hours.
You felt your eyelids growing heavy but you shook your head, trying to keep yourself awake. The 3 monster drinks on your nightstand said enough about how much you were trying to keep yourself awake. You had 2 paragraphs left but you knew you were at a losing battle with yourself. The way your eyes were just glazing over at this point and rereading the same sentence over and over was becoming a very evident indication that you needed sleep. Before you could even think about quitting for the night, there was a noise from the side of your room and a grunt. Your eyes quickly darted over to where the noise came from and there stood Luke with that magenta pull over that you really liked.
“Luke?” His eyes quickly darted over to you, clearly surprised to still see you awake.
“Y/n..hey..” He started and you pushed your laptop away to give him your full attention.
“What are you..doing here?..” You weren’t really sure why he was here and you felt a small bit of tension in the room from avoiding him for the past few weeks.
“I uh..came to see you..” His voice was small and you pushed your eyebrows together in confusion.
“At 12 in the morning?..” You knew ghosts didn’t really sleep but it was still a strange sight to see Luke in your bedroom this late at night.
“Yup..” He trails off and pushes his glance down to the floor. You raised your eyebrow, knowing he wasn’t telling you the whole truth. You two were still best friends after all, so you could read him like an open book.
“Luke, seriously. What are you doing here?” You ask trying to push an answer out of him. He finally meets your gaze again and you see his small expression on his face.
“Why have you been avoiding me?”
You blinked a few times at his bluntness. This time you were the one to avoid his gaze. You picked at your fingernails slightly, knowing Luke was watching you and waiting for an answer.
“I don't mean too.. School’s been tough and stuff.” You say cringing at how lame that sounded even though it was true. Luke stayed silent for a moment, trying to decide if you were lying to him or not. You avoided his eyes and kept your glance locked on the floor.
“Did I do something wrong? Did I overstep by touching you? I didn’t mean to scare you or anything..” Luke trails off and you frown. You quickly shake your head to tell him no.
“No, no, no. You didn’t do anything wrong. I’ve just been really swamped with homework..” You grimace to yourself for coming back to your really lame excuse. You watch as Luke steps a little closer, testing the waters. When you don’t object to him moving closer, he takes a slow seat on your bed beside you.
“You look tired..” He points out, gently reaching to touch your cheek. It warms both of your bodies as your skin makes contact. His hands were..warm..and comforting. You weren’t sure what you expected but it definitely wasn't this. Who knew ghosts were warm?
“I told you I’ve been swamped with homework.” You chuckle and this time Luke chuckles along with you. He gently pulls his hand away and folds them into his lap. You stare down at your feet for a few moments trying to figure out what to say next. This felt like completely new territory the two of you were exploring and by the energy and growing tension in the room; this was a little bit scary.
“Do you think you know..why we can..touch?” You ask hesitantly. Julie was filling you in here and there at school, but it wasn’t much and they didn’t seem to come up with anything as to why you had the “powers” too.
“No..it’s still all confusing. We think Julie’s mom has something to do with us being connected to Julie but we don’t know about you.” Luke says, side eyeing you and you weren’t sure if that was a hint for you to talk about your past or not.
You didn’t really open up about your past. No one had ever really asked so you never really talked. Julie knew a little bit, she knew that your mom and dad fought a lot and you didn’t like being at home that much, but that was about it. You didn’t talk about it further than that, so when you could feel Luke trying to dig into your past more, you shrugged.
“My parents don’t talk much about stuff. I don’t know.” You say, keeping it short and simple. Luke frowns a little at your answer, but he knows not to push so he doesn’t. The two of you sit in more silence beside one another. You picked at your finger nails while Luke’s eyes travelled around your room.
“I ran out on my mom. She didn’t believe in my dream and though dropping out of high school was the worst possible idea. We got into a fight and I ran out. That was the last time I saw her face to face. I died before I could make amends with her.” You glance at Luke, surprised at his openness. Even though you guys were best friends, talking about stuff like this was kind of off limits. The memory hurt too much so you never talked about at home, parent problems.
“Wow..I’m sorry. That must have been hard on both of you.” You admit and Luke nods.
“It was, but Julie helped me make amends with them last year.” Luke smiles a little and you smile too. You knew his little story was a play to get you to start talking so you took in a little breath.
“My dad cheated on my mom a few years ago with..a few other women. My mom keeps trying to make excuses for him to keep him around. They fight a lot because my dad doesn’t want to stay but my mom keeps pushing it. They’re both pretty heavy drinkers, too. It’s not a very good mix.” You explain. It felt weird to say it out loud, but it also felt nice to talk about it with someone.
“I’m really sorry, Y/n. I can’t imagine how difficult that is.” Luke empathizes but you only shrug.
“It’s a good thing Julie let’s me come over so much. She’s been there for me for it all and I really love her for that.” You say, smiling at the thought of Julie’s friendship. You really couldn’t ask for a better best friend to get through it all.
“Yeah, Julie’s really great. She does it all.” Luke laughs and you nod in agreement. More silence fills in between you two but it was comfortable silence. This time you lean your head on Luke’s shoulder and he pulls his arm around you to bring you closer. You could feel the tension slowly fading away. Sometimes all it took was one meaningful conversation to break the barrier.
“Oh yeah, I saw these on my way over here and I thought you might like them.” Luke smiles and you watch as he digs into his pocket before pulling out a small bouquet of those pretty Aster flowers. You sit up a little, instantly recognizing them. They were your grandma’s favorite before she passed away when you were little.
“Asters?” You ask and Luke glances at you a little surprised.
“Is that what they’re called? They’re really pretty.” Luke smiles and hands them to you. You smile, smelling them and instantly getting that fresh scent of your grandma’s house.
“They are very pretty. Thank you.” You smile warmly and Luke smiles again.
“Yeah, you’re welcome. They just reminded me of you.” Luke says and you chuckle. That was something your grandma had said to you a lot.
“You should probably get going. It’s getting late and the boys are probably wondering where you are.” You chuckle, glancing at how much later it had gotten and you still had to wake up for school the next morning.
“Yeah, you’re probably right. I’ll see you at Julie’s tomorrow?” Luke stands up and sends you a hopeful glance. You chuckle and nod a yes.
“Yeah, see you there, Patterson.” Luke smiles at your response. You watch as he hesitates to leave for a moment and you’re about to question him when in one quick motion he plants a kiss on your cheek before poofing out.
You sit there, a little stunned, before allowing a small blush to creep its way onto your cheeks. You got up to put your flowers in your little vase on your desk. It added a nice touch to your room. If Luke hadn’t come in to make you more alert, you would have missed it. On your desk by the vase was a small piece of paper with writing on it. Upon examining it further, it was one of the last notes your grandma had written to you before she passed away. You thought you had lost that somewhere in your numerous papers, but there it was, front and center on your desk.
I will be with you, today, tomorrow, and forever. You just have to look for the signs - Grandma

Tumblr media Tumblr media
eijirou kirishima
kirishima may have placed second in ua’s entrance exam, but he still needs to study. a lot
your also pretty smart but that doesn’t mean you don’t need to study as well, so when kirishima asked if you wanted to study with him it was perfect for both of you
it was also perfect because the two of you have fat crushes on each other
the two of you were going to meet up in your room after class ended, since your room was easier to study in—
when class ended, you walked over to kirishima’s desk. once he packed up the two of you started walking to the dorms
“hey (y/n) can we study english today? since we have a quiz tomorrow.” kirishima glanced at you, to see if you’d agree
you nodded your head in response, “good idea, we probably should review the material from today. it’ll most likely be the majority of the quiz.”
the two of you continue to easily converse about how to study for today, you have always been able to easily talk with kirishima
it’s definitely one of the reasons why you fell for him
when you get to your dorm, the both of you sit at your chabudai desk. sitting across from each other because you’re not sure if you’re ready to sit so close to kirishima. he’s not sure either
as you start getting your notes out from your earlier lesson, kirishima is currently worrying about being in your room. it’s his first time being in your room, with only you.
you snap him back to reality, “kirishima? are you going to get your notes out?”
the red head tenses slightly since you caught him spacing out, “right sorry (y/n)!” he laughs nervously and fishes his notes out from his backpack
the two of you then spend the next few hours studying your english from material from that day and the rest of the week
“kirishima, you forgot the comma here.”
“(y/n) which sentence structure do i use here?”
“wait how do you spell ketchup again..”
“why is english so complicated?!”
after almost four hours of studying, mostly english but the two of you completed the homework due tomorrow as well, you were starting to get tired. it was already dark outside as well
you let out a big yawn, causing kirishima to pause what he was doing and look up at you. “getting tired? maybe we should call it for today.”
you immediately shake your head at the male, “no i’m fine let’s just finish since we’re almost done.” even if you were tired you didn’t want this to end, you were actually having fun studying with kirishima. he definitely made it more enjoyable
kirishima definitely didn’t think you were just fine, but he let it slide. he was planning on letting you sleep if you let out another big yawn like that though
you continued to work on a worksheet but you were having trouble remembering something. so you got up and plopped down next to kirishima, “can you help me with this? sorry it’s just easier to sit next to you instead of sliding the paper back and forth.”
kirishima was a little surprised that you were now sitting so close to him, your shoulders touching with his now. but he swatted that thought away and focused on helping you with the worksheet. a small blush still spread along his cheeks however
he started to explain it more thoroughly, not realizing that you had started to lean against him. it was only after he finished explaining that he fully noticed that you had fell asleep while leaning against him.
you were already pretty tired, so when kirishima started to smoothly talk, plus his comfortable warmth. yea it just soothed you into an easy sleep, leaving a very surprised, flustered red head
the red head blushed deeply when he saw that you were now slumped against him and sleeping. he couldn’t help the lopsided smile that easily spread on his face as he watched your sleeping form
but now kirishima was contemplating whether he should move you to your bed or not. he was so afraid of waking you up, the sweet boy didn’t want to disturb you. you looked too cute sleeping anyways
but while he was deciding there was a sudden knock on the door, which then opened quickly after
“hey (y/n)! the girls were wondering if you wanted to join...kirishima!! what are you doing here?” mina was standing in the open door frame, along with tsuyu and hagakure
kirishima immediately brought his finger to his lips to shush the loud pink girl, when mina shouted in surprise you started to stir slightly
“please don’t wake up (y/n), they just fell asleep.” the red head was quietly trying to make sure the girls weren’t too loud again. but they were struggling from holding back their squeals of excitement since of course they knew about your crush
“ok we will leave then, but not after taking a dozen pictures first!” mina quietly shouted, then whipped out her phone and started to snap pictures of your sleeping form leaning against kirishima.
the next day you practically died from over heating after seeing all the pictures mina took, but at least you and kirishima got high grades on the quiz
the two of you would definitely be studying again together
Tumblr media
denki kaminari
it’s no secret that kaminari needs to study more, i’m pretty sure everyone knows that much
he’s actually ranked last in class 1-a’s grades, this idiot
so when kaminari practically begs you to help him study, since bakugou doesn’t want to teach him anymore, you can’t refuse him
besides it helps you learn as well, plus of course you don’t mind spending more time with your crush
during lunch the blonde practically drags you to the library to help him review for a test they have right after lunch.
you can’t even stop him from dragging you because you’re blushing from him just holding your hand
honestly kaminari would be a little short circuited as well but he’s too worried about failing this test
kaminari finds a table for the both of you near the back of the library and immediately starts to bombarde you with questions
“how do you memorize all of this laws?”
“do heroes pay for building damages or is it covered by the government?”
“and also—“
he goes on for a minute or so before finally taking a breath and letting you process, you can’t even hold yourself back from laughing because half of the stuff he said wasn’t even related to what you had learned in class
“kaminari, do you even pay attention? here let me explain what we learned this week.” you grabbed your notebook and moved to sit beside the electric boy
as you read through your notebook, reviewing the weeks material, kaminari just stared at you as you talked
seeing you beside him definitely hit different, it just meant he could admire you up close. also he never knew hearing you talk so confidently about this subject would be hot
congrats kaminari thinks you’re smarts are hot too
when you finished explaining, turning to face the blonde, you definitely weren’t expecting him to be so blantantly staring at you
a pink tint spread on your cheeks as you looked back at him in confusion, “kaminari? were you listening to anything i said?”
“huh?” it took the blonde a moment to register your words, but he then smiled sheepishly. “what of course i did, your good looks just distracted me slightly that’s all.”
your mouth dropped open slightly, eyes blinking slowly as you sat in shock. yea you knew kaminari could be a flirt, but it didn’t mean that you were immune to it
as your cheeks grew red, you cleared your throat and focused back on helping the dunce face study. “right well if you can answer these questions then you should be fine for the next class.”
kaminari was silently grinning in victory, loving your adorable reaction to his flirting. he wanted to flirt with you more
you quickly wrote down a couple of questions, from some worksheets and other you made up, so that kaminari could answer them
you gave the paper to kaminari and he stared to answer them, leaving you with nothing to do. so you decided to rest your head on the table, using your own hand as a pillow for your face
the previous night you slept pretty late, for no particular reason you just couldn’t sleep. so it didn’t take much for you too easily fall asleep in the quiet library
that’s a BIG lie we both know you were probably up on your phone, maybe watching tiktok as well don’t think i don’t know
kaminari finished all the questions and was about to slide the paper to you when he saw you had fallen asleep
the blonde was surprised to see you had fallen asleep so easily, and now he was unsure what to do
the thought of the test quickly fleeted from his mind as he just watched you. your small rising and falling with each breath, your mouth slightly open, and your hair gently framing your face
the blonde gently reached over and brushed some stray hairs that dared to block your face. he couldn’t help but smile as he did so
goodness kaminari couldn’t help but think you were still so attractive as you slept! but now that he thought of it, of course you would be attractive with everything you do
he decided to let you rest, mostly because it was an excuse for him to watch you. he laid his arms on the table and laid on them as well, watching you as you took a little nap
after a few minutes of watching you, he knew that the bell would ring soon. so instead of letting the bell wake you, he decided that he would rather do it
a mischievous grin spread along his face, his charges his finger with enough electricity to definitely wake you up. but of course not enough to hurt you or anything like that
as he pressed his finger against your arm you immediately jolted awake with a little gasp following
“k-kaminari!” you shouted, forgetting you were in a library. everyone around you immediately shushed you to silence, making your cheeks turn red with embarrassment
you shot a glare at the blonde who was holding back his laughter, “i’m sorry (y/n), i couldn’t help myself. you fell asleep and the bells going to ring. can you look over my answers?”
you were still upset with the male, not angry or anything but you were still pouting about him shocking you. you looked over the paper as you grumbled about him shocking you awake
“well you passed, but this is the last time i’m helping you study.” the bell rung as you stood from the table, grabbing your things to walking to leave the library
the blonde panicked when you got up and did the same, “wait (y/n) i’m really sorry! i promise i won’t shock you, you’re the best and only tutor i have!”
hearing kaminari beg made you grin, of course you were going to get him back for earlier. you stopped in your tracks and looked back at him
“hm fine, but next time, you better be paying closer attention.” you squinted your eyes at him, trying your best to threaten him
he nodded quickly, “yes yes of course!” he was grateful you were going to study with him again, he wouldn’t want to study with anyone else anymore
“kaminari...you left your things in the library and class is going to start soon...”
“huh? oh crap!” you laughed as you watched the blonde scramble back to the library to grab his things. who knew studying could be so eventful?

katsuki bakugou
ok we all know that bakugou is smart, like he look like the type to slack off. but when he says he wants to be the best, that includes grades
this guy is actually a nerd, like funny how you call deku a nerd when you’re a big one yourself bakagou
and the two of you compete, with training, with grades, with like almost anything you can compete with
so when the class came back from a long day of training, to get their quiz scores from the previous week, you were devastated to see that you barely got a passing grade
usually you got high grades but this new section of math, definitely had you struggling. you just couldn’t quite get it right
bakugou was definitely proud of his high score and turned to you, wanting to know your score. so that he could flaunt it in your face that he did better then you, since he usually did only slightly better
“hey dumbass, guess who got a higher score than you again.” he showed you his paper, a proud grin plastered on his face. you didn’t even pay attention to him, still distraught about your score
seeing that you didn’t even notice, the blonde just got more annoyed. “hey idiot don’t just ignore me.” he snatched the paper out from your hands, to see what you got, but once he saw your score he went silent for a moment
that’s rare
bakugou started to laugh, catching you off guard. why was he laughing? were your bad grades actually funny to him?
“i can’t believe it, you turned into an ACTUALL dumbass!” he calmed down from his laughter, only to tease you of course. this just annoyed you, causing you to pout at the spiky blonde
“yeah well maybe it’s your fault for calling me dumbass and idiot all the time.” you retorted, stealing your paper back and stuffing it in your bag.
bakugou just rolled his eyes at you, “yeah whatever shitty girl.” he packed up the rest of his things and headed out of the classroom.
you also grabbed your things and followed beside the male, it was just an unspoken aggreement that you two walk to the dorms together
actually at first he yelled at you for following him, but now he just doesn’t care and maybe just maybe enjoys your company
you know you need help on the current math section, and you know the next math test will have half of it’s problems about it
you also know that the person who can probably help you, is also the same person who laughed at your bad grade
so when you guys arrive at the dorms you know what you have to do. “bakugou,” you start, which made him glance over at you briefly, “please help me with math!”
bakugou stopped walking to look at you, you were seriously asking for his help? “as if idiot, why should i help my competition?”
“well didn’t you say it’s not worth winning if your opponent is not giving it their all?”
awe shit, you got him there
bakugou growled under his breath, angry that you were right. “fine fine! besides it’s annoying hearing you whine so much.” he grumbled under his breath as he walked too his dorm room.
“HEY I DID NOT WHINE!”
you ended up going to your dorm to change out of your uniform, then went to bakugou’s so that you could study
you entered his room and saw that he had prepared everything already, a cushion was set out for you and his notes were all organized. man you really had fallen for a nerd
the next two hours went as following:
“it’s literally so easy you idiot.”
“JUST REMEMBER THE EQUATION DUMBASS”
“can you even read?”
“bAKUGOU IF YOU HIT ME WITH THAT NEWSPAPER ONE MORE TIME I WILL GO LORD EXPLOSION MURDER ON YOUR ASS”
bakugou may have thought that last one was hot
but finally after yelling and dealing with bakugou LITERALLY trying to whack the math homework into your head, it finally clicked
“god it took you long enough dumbass, now hurry up it’s almost eight.” you shot a glare at bakugou but sighed, not wanting to argue you anymore
bakugou was also a little proud of you for working so hard, BUT YOU HEARD NOTHING FROM ME
you were getting tired yourself but you wanted to finish the last few practice problems to make sure you got it down
you rested your head against your offhand, continuing to work out the equations and such. your eyes were starting to feel pretty heavy and before you knew it you passed out
today you were more exhausted from usual because of a particular rough day of practice, and you were partenered with bakugou for sparring. he did not let you get off easy
bakugou heard the thud from when your head fell against the table, worried for a brief moment before he saw you were just sleeping
“they really fell asleep...oi wake up, you’re not sleeping in my room.” bakugou pokes you with his pen, continuously doing so until he got annoyed since you weren’t wake up
he grumbled under his breath about how you were such a pain in the ass and such, you know. the usual.
the spiky blonde sat there, wondering if he should leave you or not. but seeing as you weren’t waking uphe decided it would be better to move you
bakugou let out a soft, woah he can be soft, sigh as he easily picked up your sleeping body. he walked over to his door and peeked out first, making sure the coast was clear
no way was he going to get caught carrying you back to bed like a NICE person, oh no he’d rather jump off ua
as he walked over to your room he couldn’t help but watch you sleep. how could you be so peaceful after he kept trying to wake you up
also, how were you still able to making his ears turn all red, even though you’re just sleeping. maybe it’s because you’re so close to him, or the fact that he’s holding you
goodness this just fueled his anger for his crush on you, no way he’d let you win his heart so easily. but it was already too late for that
bakugou was distracted, so when todoroki asked him what he was doing he was caught off guard
and this idiot DROPPED YOU
with being dropped you finally woke up, your back and butt hurting from the impact but it was nothing lasting
bakugou whipped around and started to yell and shout and poor todoroki, about how he shouldn’t scare people and that he was a stalker and...
todoroki was in for an earful, poor boy
well actually poor you, because you were sat on the floor in utter confusion. weren’t you just studying? it took you a moment to connect the pieces
and it it took you seconds for your cheeks to flare up from realizing that bakugou was carrying you moments ago!
you didn’t get to ask bakugou about it because he was still yelling at todoroki, only for him to stomp away angrily when he was satisfied
todoroki was unfazed and went to help you up, asking if you were ok and such. you were fine and went to your room so that you could finally sleep
you were definitely planning on trying to study with bakugou more, and maybe even try to find a way for him to carry you again

Tumblr media Tumblr media
The rain poured that late afternoon.
The pitter-patter of droplets calmed you down as you stared outside of the classroom. It was five minutes before classes would end. The sounds of your professor’s voice were muffled in your ears as you watched nature unfold its tears in front of you. It’s tears being the life source of plants and rivers while also healing the souls of humans. The critters that would often bustle around the school campus now stay within their homes for shelter. The sun was barely seen as its beautiful colours now drowned behind the dark clouds. You assumed the rain would get heavier later on.
The bell rang and students began to pack their things, ready to head back to their dorms to finish homework and rest. Clubs were cancelled for today due to the rain and it would be unfair if outdoor clubs would only get the cancellation. However, you figured the rain won’t stop Malleus from doing his nightly rounds around his school either for his gargoyle research society or for his usual hobby. At least, that’s what you’ve heard from Lilia.
Yet, the rain didn’t stop you from secluding yourself from the others. Surely, the dorm would be a good place to run to, then sleeping on your warm bed while the rain poured. However, you couldn’t, not yet. Maybe, you could enjoy the rain during your little walk? Less likely. It’s not like you would see Malleus when you’re worlds apart. With your umbrella sheltering you from nature’s tears, you walked away from the school building and around the grounds. Luliton, Academy Of Sorcery’s grounds at night looked scary, that’s why you stayed where there were lights and stayed as near as you can around the mirror chamber.
Yes, you could say Luliton was The Valley of Thorns’ own version of Night Raven College. It wasn’t that popular nor as prestigious as the said school but, itis the perfect school for you. It’s smaller than NRC, best fit for someone who likes to value their alone time.
You sighed and walked over to the hooded bridge near the mirror chamber. Nature’s tears love blending in with your mood, no? Perhaps, it’s because you miss your darling fae. Your friends have probably gone back to the dorm by now. It’s just you and nature while the time of crepuscule finally dawned on the earth. You closed your umbrella, hooking it on the bridge’s ledge, leaning your arms on the platform. It was peaceful. The lanterns were on yet the absence of fireflies somehow affected you.
You remember how Malleus would make fun of you by disappearing and appearing anywhere. Every time he would do that, small green firefly-like lights would dance around you. They would tickle your skin a lot.
My, why are you reminiscing as if he’s gone?
“Remember me…” you hummed, leaning on the bridge’s post. “Though I have to say goodbye… Remember me…” You reached your hand out from under the shelter. The rain dropped on your hand gently, drenching your uniform sleeve as the droplets fell to the flowing river under you. You tilted your head to the side as you watched the rain dance on your hand. Or is it, you, catching nature’s tears since no one would pay attention to it?
“Don’t let it make you cry…” You brought your hand back and dried it off. “For ever if I’m far away, I hold you in my heart…” You looked over at the other end of the bridge and began walking. You left your umbrella behind, not like it would disappear. “I sing a secret song to you… each night we are apart…” Your voice, calm and mellifluous, blended with the water hitting the soil. Subconsciously, maybe even not, you pushed yourself under the rain.
Her tears hitting your clothes and skin, drenching you almost immediately. You didn’t care, you wanted to accompany mother nature with her emotions. Is she in need of a hug right now if she were human would you run and give her one. Is it that you are touch-starved? How childish of you to suddenly miss your beloved. You remember…
“Remember me…”
“Though I have to travel far…”
...that night where you both were chosen by your schools. His was a black carriage, and yours was a golden one. It pained you to separate ways for your own good, but that’s the test. It won’t last long, it won’t take forever. It’s not like you won’t see each other again. The feared dark fae would’ve been smirking and teasing you by now if he saw the desperate look on your face. He knew you would miss him. Wouldn’t he be as well?
“Remember me…”
“Each time you hear a sad guitar…”
“Know that I’m with you…”
You dwelled deeper into the forest-like garden Luliton had. Your face was already wet in her tears, maybe even yours. You wouldn’t know. You missed him. It has been months since you last saw him. You wished he was doing his best. And you wished he was by your side, right now. Selfish is thee to hope, but not to force.
“The only way that I can be…”
“Until you’re in my arms again…”
Your voice cracked and you covered your mouth. Is it one of those moments where you saudade on the presence of the other? Perhaps. Homesickness was an understatement. You sniffled, looking up to the sky and watching as the ongoing droplets freely fell from the clouds. No stars painting the sky nor animals around to join you in your solemn walk. “Mal mal…” you sobbed and covered your eyes. Crying along as nothing can comfort you but nature’s own tears dropping on you.
“Why are you out here and not inside your dorm?”
You quickly spun around and slouched. Relaxing your shoulders as your eyes laid on your dragon’s form. More tears cascaded down your cheeks, lips quivering into a solemn smile just when you hastily ran over to him and wrapped your arms around his chest. You broke down into more sobs at the very moment that you felt his warm body against your cold and soaked frame. Your hands clenched on his clothes feeling that if you would let go, he would disappear.
Cliche, yes, but you’re in a state of wanting to be touched.
“What’s wrong little beastie?” Malleus asked, a hand holding the umbrella above both of you and the other holding on your fragile form. He hears your cries, he heard your song. Though he already knew the answer, he wanted to hear it from you directly. Both you and Malleus are touch-deprived, even from those who are in the same school as you. “I miss you…” you hiccuped, “...so much. I look stupid b-but I really—” you fell into short breaths as you looked up at his green eyes.
He was smiling down at you. Smirking, maybe? You couldn’t tell. Either way, he was probably going to tease you again. “I wasn’t even gone that long. I just gave you a letter a week ago.” He tilted his head to the side, his lips stretching more, amused by your puffy nose and small hiccups. He likes the feeling of being missed. Makes him have a purpose in your life other than being your boyfriend.
“I don’t care…” you breathed out and hugged him tighter. “I want you. A-And if you’re going to tease me, do it already.” You buried your head on his chest before mumbling, “I missed that too…”
“My, little beastie, you’re such a cry baby.” He laughed and easily scooped you up. You adjusted your arms and wrapped them around his neck, hiding your flushed face from his view. “I know…”
“And haven’t I warned you about going out when it’s raining? You’ll catch a cold.”
“I don’t care…” you huffed, starting to calm down from your break down. The presence of your man warming your whole body. “Gives me a better reason to have you by my side.”
“Little beastie, you know that doesn’t impress me in the slightest.” There goes his protective side.
Perhaps, nature’s tears do bring some joy to others. She continues to cry down on her creations, cooling the atmosphere, feeding the plants, and hydrating other creatures. It is when in someone’s distress she would be of a company. She knows when it is time to bloom. Fret not, she will smile again and let the warmth on the sun light down on the future of a human and a fae.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 2 - Chapter 4 - Chapter 5 (FINAL)
Summary: The lucky few who have a soulmate are born with heterochromia, with their left eye being the color of their soulmate’s eyes and their right eye being their own color. Not only was Virgil one of the lucky few to have a soulmate, but he was given four. His left eye changed colors every time he blinked, rotating between his four soulmates’ eye colors. His rotating eye colors caused him to be a bit of an outcast growing up, but when he finally leaves for college, things start to fall into place. This is the journey of five strangers finding each other.

The rest of the summer Virgil kept up with Patton and Logan in a group chat Patton made. Patton would regularly send Virgil selfies of him and Logan together. And while Virgil was always filled with a warm happiness upon seeing them together, he couldn't ignore the bitter pang of loneliness.
As the start of their junior year drew nearer, Logan went back to his apartment. With the three of them all in separate locations, they would have regular skype calls that would usually last hours longer than planned (they'd only end once Logan was insistent they go to bed).
Logan sighed after he hung up the skype call. Virgil and Patton were comfortably back in their dorm and were cuddling on one of their beds as they talked with him. Logan didn't mind watching them show affection for each other (he actually enjoyed it, though he'd never admit it out loud), but he was starting to feel the bitter truths of the isolation he built for himself. He hadn't bothered to try and make any friends during his time at college. He told himself he wanted to focus on studies. He was okay, better even, on his own. But then he ran into Patton and Virgil, and he felt more alone than ever.
He got up from his desk and went to the kitchen to refill his water bottle before heading to bed.
'Hiya, Logan," his roommate Emile said from the couch. "How are Patton and Virgil?"
"They're doing well."
Emile was studying to be a therapist at the same university and had answered Logan's roommate ad. Logan had started off rather distant, engaging in small talk but never bothering to try and get to know him. It wasn't that Emile wasn't a good roommate - he was as good a roommate you could ask for. Always paid his share of rent on time, never made a huge mess, did his share of chores - but Logan just always claimed to be too busy to let himself get "distracted." But since Logan met Patton and Virgil, he decided to make more of an effort to get to know Emile, much to Emile's delight.
"What are you watching?" Logan asked as he glanced towards the TV.
Emile's dual-colored eyes lit up. That was a big reason Logan chose him as a roommate. He also was one of the few with a soulmate. "Steven Universe. Have you heard of it? It's about this kid named Steven-"
Logan listened as he waited for his water bottle to fill up. He had heard of Steven Universe, though he never bothered to look at it before. Patton had talked about it, saying he wanted the three of them to watch it together sometime. Maybe he should try and introduce Patton to Emile. The two would probably get along well-
"Logan?" Emile asked, snapping Logan from his thoughts.
"Sorry," Logan said as he twisted the cap back onto his water bottle. "I just got lost in thought.
Emile gave him a soft smile as Logan started to head back towards his bedroom. "You miss them?"
Logan paused. Well, of course he missed them a bit. They were soulmates. But in actuality, did he miss them that much? To the point of it hurting? To the point of it affecting his mood? When he was with them, they never got past hand holding, never said anything "lovey-dovey" past sending the occasional heart emoji. And even that was sometimes overwhelming. Was he ready to admit how much he actually liked them?
Logan shook his head. "Goodnight, Emile."
"Goodnight, Logan."
After quickly getting ready, Logan got into bed. He turned over to switch off his bedside lamp, ignoring the buzz of his text alert.
*
Logan woke up to good morning texts from Patton and Virgil. He responded with "Good morning." before pushing himself up to get coffee and prepare for school.
His day went on as normal, which he appreciated. On his way to his first afternoon class, he felt his phone buzz in his pocket but he ignored it. He could always read the text when class was over.
He sat down in the front row and pulled out his laptop. He tried to ignore the growing volume of people coming in and sitting around him.
Class went as it usually did, Logan asking too many questions to where the professor got annoyed and his classmates rolled their eyes. The teachers especially didn't like it when they didn't have answers.
Logan couldn't help he was smarter than them.
Class ended before Logan could ask his last question. He huffed in annoyance and started to pack his bag when his pen rolled off his desk. Before he could reach down for it, someone else had already grabbed it for him.
"You really gave the teach a run for her money, huh?" the stranger teased as he handed Logan his pen.
Logan vaguely recognized the stranger. He was the guy who was always on the posters all around campus for the theatre productions.
"Thank you," Logan said. He looked at the stranger's face and froze. His right eye was a deep brown and his left was a light green.
He couldn't be, could he? There was the possibility that the man in front of him only had one soulmate who's eyes also happened to be green or-
The man blinked and his left eye turned from Patton's green to Virgil's gray.
He was Logan's soulmate.
Logan watched as his soulmate's eyes widened and a large smile graced his face.
"Roman," he said in a breathless voice.
"Logan."
Dear God, why now? He was still trying to figure out his feelings towards Patton and Virgil, and now the universe wanted to introduce him to another?
"This is amazing!" Roman exclaimed as Logan finally stood from his desk. "I've been waiting to meet one of you for such a long time! Let me take out to-"
"I have another class in fifteen minutes," Logan interrupted. Roman's smile faltered a bit, and Logan felt a bit guilty but pushed that aside immediately. His studies came before anything. Classes - Logan understood those.
"But we're soulmates! This is the first time I've met one of you. Surely we can miss one class"
"No," Logan said. "I'll see you in class Thursday."
A disappointed look fell on Roman's face. He opened his mouth to speak, but Logan started heading towards the door before he could. Roman scrambled to get his backpack together to follow him.
"Wait!" Logan didn't stop walking. "Wait!"
Logan jerked back as Roman grabbed his shoulder.
"I've dreamed about this moment for as long as I can remember!" Roman pleaded. "Logan, we're soulmates. We're made for each other-"
"We can always talk later-"
"Why wait??" Roman asked as he reached for Logan's hand, but Logan jerked it back. "Why not take full advantage of the time we're given?"
"I need to go," Logan said adamantly. Roman opened his mouth to object and Logan sighed and pulled out his phone. "If I get out of class early I'll text you."
Roman eagerly took Logan's phone and punched his number in. As soon as Logan had his phone back he turned and started heading towards his next building.
Logan wished Patton was the one to meet Roman. Patton would have been a much better match for Roman. He would know how to react and what to do. Logan sighed as he walked into the building, hoping for a long and boring class.
Of course not.
Of course today was a day the professor decided to let them out early. Logan's mind raced as he tried to think of anything else he could work on.
He was all caught up on his homework - ahead, even. He had all the terms he needed to memorize memorized and had already created all the study flashcards he needed. He had read all the book chapters that needed to be read and had already highlighted everything important. He had no future tests or quizzes to study for nor did he have any extra credit options to due as he had already completed them.
Dammit, why did he have to be so diligent at school work??
The thought of not telling Roman he was out of class flashed through his mind, but that thought made him uneasy. While he was not the keenest on other people's emotions, he was no liar. Besides, Roman was his soulmate. At the very least, he deserved a chance to speak with him.
The campus coffee shop was nearby, so he texted Roman that if he was out of class to meet him there. He ordered his coffee (black, of course) and sat down in a secluded seat by a window. It was fairly crowded, and this was the one instance Logan was grateful for that.
Very shortly after Logan sat down, Roman walked in and eagerly looked for him, beaming once he saw him. He sat down in front of Logan and flashed another cocky smile.
"Hello," Roman said. "I am very glad I get to see you again."
"Hello. Did you not have class?" Logan asked as he put his drink down. "If you did, it was very convenient you were dismissed early as well."
"Actually, I just left," Roman grinned.
"You were dismissed just a few minutes ago?"
"Well, no. I got your text so I just got up and left."
"In the middle of-"
"In the middle of the lecture, yeah."
"...Okay, then," Logan said after a couple tense moments of silence.
"I want to know all about you. How old are you? What year are you in? Did you grow up around here? What are you-"
"I'm twenty-one and a senior," Logan interrupted before he could get barraged with more questions. "And I was not raised here. I grew up out of state."
"...What about yourself?" Logan added onto the end. It was polite to ask others about themselves as well, right? Besides, he needed to get to know his soulmate, right?
God he hated this.
"I'm nineteen and a sophomore," Roman said as he relaxed back in his chair. "And I grew up in a small town not too far from here. "God, I hated it."
"So... you've met two others?" Roman then asked, voice laced with hope.
"I met them this summer."
"So they were already together?"
"Yes."
Sadness flashed over Roman's face for a split second but was quickly disguised again by Roman's large grin.
"Could you tell me about them?"
"Their names are Patton and Virgil. Patton's the green, Virgil's the gray," Logan said as he picked up his coffee again, wanting to avoid the soft gaze Roman had on his face. "They're both juniors and twenty, though Patton is older than Virgil by three months. They're art majors but Virgil has a minor in creative writing and Patton has been looking into dual majoring in psychology. They both live and go to a university out of state."
"Could you introduce me to them?"
"I'll tell them I met you tonight and see if they'd prefer video call or in person."
Roman nodded.
"Back to you," Roman said as he managed to catch Logan's eye. "What are you majoring in?"
"I am majoring in chemical engineering, with a minor in education so that I may teach one day if I so choose."
As Logan talked, Roman rested his head on his hand and smiled at Logan in such an admiring way it almost made Logan uncomfortable. Those looks were for Patton and Virgil only, who he already knew to a degree. How could Roman look at Logan with such eyes when they had met not two hours ago?
"Yourself?" Logan asked.
"I'm majoring in musical theatre with a minor in theatrical costuming, but I also persuaded the chorus professor to give me voice lessons that are usually reserved only for voice majors," Roman said with a proud grin.
"Hm," Logan huffed, though immediately regretted it.
When Logan met Patton and Virgil and learned they were both art majors, he was a bit disappointed he couldn't talk to them about the sciences, but it didn't bother him too much since at least he had two other soulmates who could share his passion for math and science.
But now his third one is a theatre major, leaving only one. Logan was running out of options.
"...What does 'hm' mean?" Roman asked defensively, straightening his back as he examined Logan's face.
"It's nothing. I shouldn't have said it."
"It's clearly something."
"I just... I can't understand why you would spend your time and money in higher education only to indulge in over-glorified make believe," Logan said incredulously, completely aware of how rude he sounded but not being able to help himself.
"I wouldn't put it like that," Roman said defensively. "I don't think you're aware of how much hard work one has to do to refine one's acting abilities-"
"One's higher education is one of the most important and deciding times of one's life," Logan interrupted. "And you're here studying theatre and skipping classes."
"I bailed so I could see my soulmate," Roman said, voice rising in volume. Logan glanced at the people around them. "Perhaps you're taking college a bit too seriously! Yes, and education is important, but college is also the time to have fun and discover yourself!"
People were staring at them.
"If you are just going to yell, I am going to take my leave," Logan said as he grabbed his bag. Roman's eyes widened as he stood with Logan and went to say something but Logan didn't let him speak. "I will see you in class. Goodbye, Roman."
"Really!?" Roman shouted after him. Now everyone was staring. "When I imagined my soulmates, the ones made for me, I always imagined someone who I can share my passions with. But are you really so impersonal you'd abandon your own soulmate? Is school really all you care about!?"
"Goodbye, Roman."
And Logan left.
Logan fell back onto his bed and groaned into his hands. God, why did he have to be so bad at interacting with others? Why did he have to be so bad at understanding emotions that he could neither understand his own or read others? Why did he have to have no filter between his brain and his mouth?
He heard his phone buzz and he groaned again. He knew who it was.
Patton: Me and Virgil are ready to video chat when you are <3 <3
Logan had to stop himself from correcting him to "Virgil and I."
He bit his lip as his thumb hovered over his phone keyboard before quickly typing out a message.
Logan: I'm afraid I'm feeling a bit sick tonight. I think I'll just go to bed early, but I'll talk to you soon. Patton: Oh, I'm sorry! :( I hope you feel better soon <3 <3 <3 Virgil: take care, logan Virgil: <3
He couldn't let them see him. He hadn't had the courage to look, but he knew his left eye was just light brown now. Once Patton and Virgil noticed his eye no longer changed color, he'd have to tell them about Roman and what a disaster that was.
He did go to bed early that night, exhausted from all the emotional turmoil from the day. He wasn't looking forward to Thursday.
*
As much as Logan wished the Earth would have been engulfed by the sun before Thursday, that wasn't due for another billion years, so Logan had to go to class.
He got there early and sat in his seat in the front row. He pulled his laptop out of his backpack and stared at it, not being able to comprehend anything on the screen.
Other students started trailing in to their usual seats, though Logan' refused to look at any of them. But when someone in red walked past him, he knew it was Roman. He recognized the cologne.
When the class finally ended, Logan stood right outside the doorway to try and catch him.
"Roman!" Logan called when he walked out. Roman's eyes widened a bit but he nodded.
"Logan."
"I wanted to apologize-"
Roman held up a hand to stop him and motioned his head towards the end of the hall where it was quieter.
"I wanted to apologize for what I said on Tuesday," Logan started. "It was very rude of me to say, and I'm sorry."
"It's okay. I... I'm sorry if I was a bit overbearing," Roman shrugged back.
"It's fine," Logan said. The two just stared at each other for a few moments, not knowing what to say.
"I... I have another class," Logan started.
"...I guess I'll... see you around?"
Logan nodded and the two parted ways. Logan didn't normally leave using the back door, but he didn't want to have to walk back down the hallway behind Roman.
Of course it was awkward. Of course it wasn't okay. There was no way to take back what had been said. Even though Logan apologized, Roman still knows what Logan thinks about his major, and Logan still knows Roman thinks he's stuck-up.
Logan sighed as he walked towards his class. At least he'll have calculus to distract him.
*
That next Monday, Logan was sitting at one of the outside tables outside the school union. He was working on extra credit for astronomy, one of his favorite classes. The weather was a bit cooler, and he was almost cold in the shade, and the fact that there had been steady wind all day wasn't helping.
Logan heard the chair across from him scrape against the concrete. Logan looked up to see Roman sitting across from him.
"Hello," Roman said with a small smile.
"Salutations," Logan responded, a bit dumbfounded. "How- How are you?"
"Fine," Roman said. "Rehearsals for the fall musical started. It's going really well. You?"
"Fine. Classes are going well."
"Good, good."
Awkward silence fell back over them as the wind rushed past them again, causing Logan to shiver.
"Are you cold? Would you like my jack-"
"I'm fine, thank you," Logan said quickly.
Another awkward silence.
"What are you working on?" Roman asked.
"I am working on an extra credit paper for astronomy, but I can't decide if I should write about the Copernicus and heliocentric models of the galaxy, black holes, or dark energy and matter. All of the topics are so interesting, it's hard to decide."
"I... understood maybe half those words," Roman admitted.
"Oh..."
"Why don't you tell me about them?" Roman asked, voice almost hopeful. Logan stared at him for a few moments.
"...Are you sure?"
"Yeah," Roman shrugged as he sat back in his chair. "I'm done with classes for today. Maybe talking about it out loud will help you decide what to write about?"
So Logan did. He told Roman all about his astronomy galaxy models and black holes and what dark matter is (or really, what it isn't), but soon he found himself rambling about other things, from space travel to gravitational waves to how the human eyes perceive light - any topic he came across relating to the subjects he had to talk about. They were all so interesting, how could he not?
Roman's own face lit up as he walked Logan talk. The way Logan's face brightened with excitement, the way he excitedly moved his hands around - it was all... adorable.
"Nice to see you excited about something, Specs," Roman said with a grin as he rested his head in his hand.
"Wh- what?"
"I like knowing you have passions, Roman shrugged. "Let's me know you aren't such a straight-ass as I thought."
Logan felt his cheeks heat up and he prayed to God that it wasn't noticeable (it was).
"That love you have for astronomy? That's how I feel about theatre," Roman said as he shoved his hands into his jacket pockets. Logan just stared at him.
"...I'll see you around, Logan."
Then Roman stood and walked away, leaving Logan with a blush dusted across his face.
*
That Friday, Logan was walking back towards the student parking lot. It was the end of a long week, and Logan was frankly ready to get back to his apartment, make some tea, and relax while listening to podcasts.
"Logan?"
"Oh, hello, Roman," Logan said once he turned around to see who had spoken to him.
"So. This is the Logan you were telling me about," the man next to Roman said as he placed the hand not holding an ice coffee on his hip.
"Oh boy. Logan, this is my cousin, Remy."
"It's nice to meet you."
"Pleasure, doll."
Logan could tell it was anything but.
"Logan!" someone called out. "You left your phone in the union- oh, I'm sorry. Am I interrupting something?"
"No. And thank you, Emile," Logan said as he took his phone back from his friend. He said nothing else for a moment before he realized he should probably introduce everyone.
"This is Roman. Roman this is-"
"I'm Remy," he interrupted. "What's your name, dollface?"
"I'm Emile! Lovely to meet you. Do you how do?" Emile said with a large grin.
"Uh... what?" Roman asked quietly.
"Adorable," Remy smirked as he pushed his sunglasses down, exposing his eyes. His left was a light blue while his right was a dark, coffee brown. Emile gasped, and their eyes shifted into their own colors.
"Oh my goooooosh!" Roman squealed as he lifted his hands to his mouth and glanced between the two.
"Oh my stars! It's so nice to finally meet you," Emile stammered as his face grew red.
"Wanna go grab a coffee? Get to know each other?" Remy asked as he looked Emile up and down before sliding his shades back over his eyes.
"You already have a coffee," Logan pointed out.
"No I don't," Remy said as he poured the remnants of his cup onto the grass and shoved the empty plastic into Roman's hands. "What do you say?"
"I'd love to!" Emile said with a wide grin. Remy returned it with a cocky smile as he looped his arm around Emile's and looked down at the shorter man, Emile's blush growing darker.
"We'll see you two gents later," Remy said before turning and leading Emile down the sidewalk.
"...Well then," Logan said after a moment as he and Roman watched the two walk away.
"Oh, Logan, wasn't that incredible?" Romans sighed. "We got to bring two soulmates together!"
"Yes, I suppose it was."
"...Hey, so, uh," Roman started before the silence between them got too awkward. "I was just about to head to rehearsals, if you'd like to come watch?"
Logan's first instinct was to say no, but he hesitated. It wasn't like he had anything to do. Besides, Roman's making a clear effort to move past their first day together. Logan should, too.
"Sure."
Roman beamed.
Logan sat in the middle of the house, watching as the director stopped the actors again and again and again - giving notes and drilling them with questions about their characters and their choices. They went over and over the same scenes until even Logan knew the lines.
But Roman never seemed to get tired. While a couple actors would roll their eyes, huff in frustration, Roman never did. He took all the criticism in stride, answered all the director's questions in a heartbeat, and took the notes from the director to heart as he improved his performance in the next run.
Roman was really... dedicated.
Logan waited in his seat at the end of rehearsal as everyone filed out. When everyone had left except Roman, Logan stood up and went backstage where he found Roman playing notes on the piano.
"Oh, sorry! Honestly, I completely forgot you were out there," Roman said sheepishly as Logan walked in. "...Did you see how many times I messed up the notes in the opening song? I was practicing to make sure that didn't happen again."
"Roman I'm... I'm sorry. Truly this time."
Roman froze for a few moments before he patted the piano bench as he slid over, leaving room for Logan.
"You were correct in your previous statement about me not knowing how hard one has to work to be a talented actor. I saw how passionate you are about this show, about your performance - how dedicated you are to your craft.
And I'm sorry. My statement was ignorant, and I wish I could revoke my words. But I can't, so I can only offer my sincerest apologies and hope you can accept them."
"Thanks, Logan," Roman said with a soft smile. A genuine one, not one of the cocky ones Roman often flashes around campus. One very few get to actually see. "I'm sorry I called you impersonal, or whatever. I was just angry."
"You had every right to be."
"We're not so different, you and I," Roman said with a cheeky grin. "We hold similar fervor, we just fan different flames. I saw that spark in your eyes on Monday. You're passionate in your own way. I admire that. Plus, you're super smart and have a gorgeous face. How lucky am I to get you as a soulmate?"
"I admire your passion and dedication, as well," Logan said as he glanced away, feeling his face heat up again.
Roman smiled, and when Logan looked back at him, he couldn't help but smile back.
"So, you play piano?" Logan asked.
"Yep. And guitar. And drums. And french horn and violin."
"Wow. How did you manage to learn all those?"
"French horn I learned in my school's band and violin in the orchestra. Piano, guitar, and drums I taught myself by saving up money washing cars and buying discounted instruments online."
"Incredible," Logan whispered. Now it was Roman's turn to blush. "And you can sing and act. Now who's the lucky one?"
"Still me," Roman grinned. "But thank you," he added softly as he glanced away.
"Will you play me something?"
"Happily. Any requests?"
"One of your favorites."
Roman thought for a moment before placing his hands on the keys. He started singing in that low, beautiful voice Part of Your World.
"You're magnificent," Logan said as Roman took his hands off the keys. Roman's blush returned.
"Thank you."
"So you like Disney?"
"I love Disney," Roman grinned. "Do you?"
"I have never seen a Disney movie. I never watched much TV growing up. My parents told me it would hinder my studies," Logan said. "I've seen parts whenever Emile watches them in the apartment, and I'm familiar with a few songs I've heard over the years, but I can not say if I like Disney or not."
"Never seen Disney?" Roman gasped. "Come over to mine and Remy's apartment tomorrow. I'll kick him out for the day, and we can binge Disney movies. I'll show you all the classics."
"I think I could enjoy that," Logan said as he made the mental note to finish his assignment tonight so he had free time tomorrow.
"It's a date?" Roman asked with a hopeful smile.
"It's a date. I'll let you continue practicing, now. I have schoolwork I need to do, anyways," Logan said as he stood up.
"I'll see you later, Specs."
"Goodbye, Roman."
"...Wait, Logan?" Roman asked once Logan was at the door.
"Yes?"
"Do... do the others know about me yet?" Roman asked so softly Logan almost didn't hear him.
"I'll tell them about you tonight. I promise," Logan said. "I'll text you what they say about meeting you."
"Thanks, Logan."
Logan nodded and turned to leave, the sound of the piano and Roman's beautiful voice fading as he walked away.

My Muse
Tenya Iida x Reader
Description: Reader is an artist who is shy about their art work. Due to an accident, their sketchbook ends up in Tenya's hands. Why are there hearts around his name?
Thank you for the request @coleluuviida ! I had fun writing this and I hope you like it! 💞
Tumblr media
You bit your lip in frustration, knowing you were going to fail the test you’d have coming up this week. The lesson was difficult, sure, but that wasn’t the problem. The problem was how good Tenya looked.
Damn, he was such a distraction.
You watched as he raised his hand to answer another question, he’d already answered most of them so Aizawa-Sensei probably wasn’t gonna choose him.
You couldn’t help but admire his broad shoulders, strong hands, and chiseled jaw. The details of his neck and his focused stare. And before you know it, you were slowly opening your sketchbook so as to not let Aizawa-Sensei catch you.
You were just going to doodle for a bit, then you’d get back work. Easy peasy.. Well, that’s what you tried to tell yourself.
But you couldn’t help it. It went from an outline to a full, detailed drawing, and of Tenya nonetheless. You’d forgotten how many times you’d drawn him in class.
You rarely even had to glance up, only looking to double-check the finer details. But why wouldn’t you be so sure? He was practically all you could think about sometimes.
You smiled softly, unconsciously doodling hearts around the drawing midway through before continuing.
And before you knew it, today’s lesson was over. “Alright, everyone. Class is dismissed, and I expect tomorrow’s homework to be done.” Aizawa-Sensei said grumpily. Everyone gave him a “Yes, Sensei!” or a “Yes, Sir!”, knowing any other response was not an option.
You looked down at your drawing and hummed in approval. Done right on time.
“Hey, Y/n-Chan! What’cha got there?”
You blushed darkly and quickly closed your book, turning to see Uraraka. “Ah, nothing! Just some sketches..” You quickly attempted to dismiss.
Most of the rest of the group right behind, Todoroiki slung his bag over his shoulders. “Is it me or was today’s lesson particularly harder? You think Aizawa-Sensei’s still mad about Kaminari’s presentation on the word ‘Yeet’ and it’s appropriate use?”
“You were listening?” You raised an eyebrow. He gave you a look that read “Why wouldn’t I?” And you chuckled at the obliviousness. “Well, I’m not sure. I wasn’t paying much attention.”
“Have you been feeling alright?” Tenya’s asked you from behind. You turned to see a worried expression on his face. “You’ve been out of it a lot during class. And you don’t eat much at breakfast.”
You couldn’t help but smile. “I’m fine, really. I just can’t believe you noticed all that.”
He smiled gently at you. “Of course. Your health is very important to me, so I hope you’re eating and sleeping well.”
You felt yourself begin to blush as you tried reasoning with your feelings, telling yourself he simply worried for you as a classmate would.
If only you knew of the special place you had in Tenya’s heart.
“I will. Thank you.” You nodded. He went to speak but was promptly cut off.
Midoriya gave you a smile. “Probably drawing in your book huh?”
You chuckled at that. “You’ve got your book, I’ve got mine, Midoriya.” You said. He sheepishly laughed and scratched the back of his head.
“Seriously, Y/n, I’m super curious as to what you draw!” Uraraka said with a grin.
Shaking your head, you looked at the book. “They’re not all that good. And some of them are kinda embarrassing." Of course, you meant your many drawings of Tenya.
“Y/n, c’mon, they’re giving us the art room for an hour!” Kyoka called out from the door. You quickly rushed to put your books away, knowing the time frame would be str
“Gotta go, guys!” You rushed over to Kyoka who smirked at you. You did your best to ignore the look on her face as you both walked down the hall.
Breaking the silence, she raised an eyebrow. “Flirting with Iida finally?”
You sighed, not thinking your face could feel any hotter. “Noooo.. I wish..” You said mumbling towards the end.
She chuckled and lightly nudged your shoulder. “Oh, c’mon. You might as well tell him. It’s obvious he has a soft spot for you.” She shrugged, smirking.
Rolling your eyes, you shook your head. “Yeah, yeah. You got your tablet?”
She nodded. “Of course.”
~~~~
The Dekusquad continued to grab their things in a hurry, as Aizawa-Sensei was not in the mood to just stand there all day. As they left, Tenya held a book. Your sketchbook.
“It’s surprising that they’d drop their book. I wish we’d seen it sooner.” He stared at the cover in slight shock. This was your sketchbook, one of the most important things to you. He felt wrong holding it.
“You guys didn’t see Y/n drop their sketchbook when they left?” He asked, looking at them. All of them immediately looked over in surprise.
Tenya proceeded to make a chopping motion. “Why didn’t you tell them when it dropped?” He exclaimed.
Todoroki sighed softly. “They left in such a rush.” He shrugged.
Uraraka plucked it from Tenya’s hands. “Hey, guys? I know they said they didn’t want us to look, but one peek wouldn’t hurt right?"
Asui made a small ribbit noise. “I have to admit I am a little curious, ribbit.”
Uraraka opened the sketchbook, Tenya now chopping the air faster. “Guys! We need to respect Y/n’s privacy! It’s their private property and it wouldn’t be right for us to look at it!” He exclaimed.
“Wow! They drew Aizawa-Sensei so well! And All Might!”
Asui looked over the other girl’s shoulder. “And Present Mic, ribbit.”
The three boys tried to not seem interested, as they wanted to respect your privacy like Tenya had said.
“Is that us?” Asui asked, drawing the attention of Midoriya and Todoroki. Hesitantly looking over their shoulders, they immediately began to admire the art.
“Woah.. That’s amazing!” Midoriya said, not being able to hold back a smile as a drawing of him became visible.
Todoroki’s drawing was on the next page. “The attention to even our quirks is great. They put a lot of detail into these.”
Asui flipped the next page. “It’s Iida in his hero costume!”
Tenya quickly took the book but closed it. “Where is your self-restraint? You have broken the trust of our classmate!” He sighed, shaking his head. “I am studying with Tokoyami and Shoji, so I will bring this to the boys' dorms and keep an eye on it!”
It was obvious the Dekusquad wanted to continue looking through the book, but they knew Tenya was right.
Carefully placing the book in his bag, he walked off.
~~~~
Tenya sat in bed, unable to look away from his school bag. He knew it was wrong, especially after he lectured the others, but he couldn’t help it.
You’d always interested him, from your drawings to the sound of your voice. Dare he say he had a huge crush on you.
Unable to help himself, he got out of bed and walked over to the bag. He proceeded to pull out the book. He’d only look for a bit.
Sitting back in bed, he started flipping through the sketchbook. The rest of the group was right. Your drawings were amazing. And to think of all the time he’d heard you talking about how your drawings weren’t that good.
After a while, he landed on a drawing of himself. Not in his hero costume, not training. Just him behind himself.
Taking in the details, he blushed as he noticed the hearts surrounding the drawing.
Could it mean..? No, no.. But the others didn’t have hearts drawn around them. Why else would all his drawings have hearts?
~~~~
Tenya walked in to see his four closest friends bowing to you.
“We’re sorry!” The four of them exclaimed. You simply sighed, pinching the bridge of your nose.
“It’s fine. But where is the book?"
Walking over, Tenya cleared his throat and held out the sketchbook. You quickly took it, giving Tenya a bow of your own. “Thank you so much!”
Tenya looked away with a blush. “It’s quite alright, but please be careful next time. Anyone could have found it.”
You nodded, laughing quietly. “Yeah. I should have been more careful.”
“Now.. At the risk of embarrassing myself... Could we spend some time together after class?” He asked, trying to block out the excited stares of his classmates.
Behind Tenya, you watched Kyoka give you a thumbs up and a grin. So with a smile, you nod. “I’d like that.”
What Should We Name Him?
Tumblr media
Summary: Three years after gaining control of his own destiny, Dean Winchester discovers a puppy abandoned on the side of the road. What should he do? Take it home to his wife and children, of course. Painting: Dean Winchester x Reader (Series Rewrite Setting) Word Count: 2,137. Warning: Possible spoilers for 15.19! (???)
This might be my little take on what life would be like after the show “ended.” (Plus I believe this is how that scene should have ended.) I wrote this out of whim, so it's not perfect. But there’s a whole lot of fluff because we need it right now. Enjoy!
Dean loves the high he gets after finishing up a hunt. He spent three days in Missouri due to a nasty vampire nest Sam was trying to take down with Eileen that got out of control and required some backup. His brother and fiancée decided to stick around to clean up, letting Dean slip back to the bunker and to his own awaiting family back in Kansas.
The Impala drives down the empty road he’s taken thousands of times that always leads him back home. His favorite tunes play as he enjoys the feeling of the wind rushing through the open windows all by himself. Today is perfect weather with the sun shining bright in the blue sky, not a single cloud in sight. No little kids trying to touch the buttons to the radio or asking what the strange rectangular object is after they went snooping around underneath the seats searching for a toy they dropped. It was just Dean and Baby, just like the good old times. The only thing missing was his wife and little brother in their respective seats singing along.
Dean finishes out the classic rock song by softly slapping his hands along with the rhythm of the drums. The music gets shut off for a brief moment when he spots the gas station he always stops by to fill up the Impala. He continues on with his routine of getting gas and thinking about what to get inside. Maybe some candy for the twins when you told them about how well they did on their spelling test. Hell, he might even pick up a six pack to celebrate the successful hunt.
He stopped drinking heavily as he had in the past. And the hunts he participated in slowly dropped to only a few times a month. Dean’s lifestyle changed dramatically when Chuck was kicked out of the picture. It allowed Dean to breathe and step back at the life he was finally able to control. The man wasn’t getting any younger and his kids were growing up fast. He wanted to be a good father, best that he could be. Which meant not having the twins creating memories of  him nursing a beer at ten in the morning. And forcing himself to let Sam do more of the cooking and incorporating some greens into his meals.
Dean wanted to live long enough to see his babies grow up—see what they were going to do with their lives. Make decisions their parents were never allowed to. Dean’s entire life someone has been telling him what to do, writing down what to say. Not anymore. For the first time ever the curse was broken and he was able to do what he wanted. And he wanted to be a better man. He wanted to grow old with his wife and raise his children right. Watch his baby brother walk down the aisle with Eileen. Have some quality time with his friends and live his own life, damnit. And he was.
Dean checked his phone while filling up Baby to see you responded back to his text about heading back from the hunt. Like always, you warned him about making it back safe and signed off with a quick ‘love you ❤” that never ceased to make his own heart beat faster. He smiled to himself and shoved his phone into his back pocket once again. If there was one thing in this world that he knew, it was his love for you was tried and true. Your love was not a story that could be written or broken up. No one or nothing would be able to take that away from him.
After doing his normal routine and fetching a few snakes for the short ride home, Dean decided to make one more stop to the bathroom when he spotted the sign on his way back to the Impala. That's when he hears it—a whimper. The noise caught him off guard as his hand lingered over the doorknob. A few seconds passed before he heard it again. Dean stepped away and tried to figure out where the noise came from. He followed it until he came across something that made him stop in his tracks.
“Hey, buddy.” Dean ever so softly greets the puppy that is hiding in a cardboard box that has seen better days. Someone might have confused it with the rest of the trash next to the dumpster. Inside was a puppy that had to be only weeks old with old sheets. Dean dropped down to a crouch to carefully inspect the puppy for any possible tags indicating an order. His lips stretched into a frown when there was none. “Someone’s gotta be missing you, right?”
Dean knew he couldn't leave the poor dog on the side of the road. He always had a strict rule of never letting any non-humans into his car. The guilt would eat him inside if he let the poor dog remain abandoned. Dean picked up the box and carefully set it inside the backseat. He decided to make one more pitstop before heading home.
***
One stop ended up turning into two. The vet told him there had been no reports of a missing German Shepherd puppy recently reported. Which meant someone had abandoned the dog at the gas station in hopes someone might find him. Dean could have left it at that and headed home. But he kept staring at the dog. It reminded him of something that happened a few years ago. For some reason he wasn't able to part with the dog. He needed to be sure the mutt got a good home. The decision led to him making another stop—to the pet store.
The vet cleared the dog of any possible or diseases until the next check up. Dean splurged on the new addition to the family; puppy food the vet recommended, a dog bed, toys, anything the mutt might need. And most importantly a collar and leash. He got himself prepared with anything the dog might need. The amount of money he spent that day reminded him of the times he prepared for the birth of the twins. Expensive. But well worth it in the end. He couldn’t wait to see their faces.
***
“We’re home!”
Dean found his family where he normally did after coming home from a hunt; the twins in the library doing their homework while you and Cas kept tabs on the network of hunters across the states. You quickly looked up when you heard his voice echo through the bunker. An expression of pure relief crossed your face when you realized he was all right. You opened your mouth to ask him what took so long, but you found yourself with more questions than answers when you saw what he was holding. And the small creature at his side.
“Daddy!” The twins wasted no time dropping their pencils and jumping out of their seats to greet their father. Dean dropped the bags to the floor and crouched down to be attacked by two six-year olds with tight hugs. He embraced the both of them and gave out forehead kisses.
“Monkeys! I’ve missed you!” He greeted his children with the same amount of enthusiasm like always. “Were you two good for Mommy and Uncle Cas?” The twins nodded their head a little too eagerly.
“Dean,” You got up from your seat and headed over to your husband who had failed to yet mention the extra companion he brought home. You pointed a finger to the puppy sitting next to him. “What is that?”
“A dog.” He said a little too casually.
You rolled your eyes at the obvious response and tried again when he stood back up. “What is it doing here?”
“I found him on the side of the road.” Dean explained. “I couldn’t leave the little guy there so I brought him home.”
“Can we keep him? Please?”
“Please? Pretty please?”
“I promise I’ll walk him—”
“And I’ll feed him—”
“Okay! Okay.” You quickly stopped the twins from chattering your ear off at the possibility of adding another member to the family. You let out a quiet sigh when they wasted no effort in warming up to the dog. He was friendly enough, giving out licks and happy barks. You thought about this for a moment. “Maybe we can look after him for a little while. See if anyone lost this poor baby.”
You had to be honest, seeing the little guy made your heart swell in delight. It was always a dream of yours to own a pet. But the life you lead made it impossible. A lot of things seemed like that. Until a few years ago when it all changed for the better. You didn’t want to get your hopes up that Dean would be on board with another member of the family. Especially a furry four-legged creature.
“The vet told me no one reported any missing dogs. My bet someone abandoned him.” Dean said. Your expression quickly flashed into anger at the news at someone’s abusive and reckless behavior on a poor and defenseless creature. “I say...their loss. Our gain.”
“Wait, what?” You sounded surprised at his reaction. “Are you suggesting we keep him?”
“Why not? He’s updated on all his shots and the vet ran a whole bunch of tests. This little guy needs a good home.” Dean said. He smiled to himself at the sight of Mariella and Robert playing with the dog. Their smiles were too pure. They’d be heartbroken if Dean denied them an opportunity to have a pet. “Looks like he’s already part of the family.”
You can't help yourself when you make your way over to the dog and greet him with pets and ear scratches. You remind the twins to be careful when they take note of the puppy's floppy ears. The three of you look so happy in the moment. He couldn't wait to see Sam's reaction when he got home. He always secretly wanted a dog as his own. Today that dream was going to come true.
“What should we name the little guy?” You asked.
The twins thought about it for a moment before a round of names only a child could think of were shot off left and right, too fast for either you or Dean to keep up on. You let out a faint sigh when the discussion quickly turned into a fight about which name was better. Dean was quick to defuse the situation before it could end in tears.
“How about...” Dean crouched down to give the dog a scratch behind the ear like he seemed to enjoy. He examined the mutt for a second before the perfect name popped into his head. “Zeppelin?”
“Zeppelin?” You repeated the name, your tone the least be enthusiastic about the reference he subtly passed by you. “Are you seri—”
“Zeppelin!” Mariella shouted the name with excitement. To her it was odd and unique, something a six year old thought was perfect. “I like it, Daddy!”
“Me too!” Robert agreed.
Dean smiled to himself when you playfully rolled your eyes. Zeppelin decided to explore the bunker, his new home, with curious but cautious steps. He made his way over to the angel and started sniffing him out.
“Hello, there.” Cas greeted the puppy. He offered his hand for the dog to sniff to try and get to know him better. “You are certainly adorable. And a perfect addition to the family. German Shepherds are known to be a perfect guard dog. They are loyal and smart. Very strong."
“Sort of like you.” You softly nudged Dean with your elbow.
“Then it’s settled.” Dean said. “Zeppelin’s here to stay.”
Dean never really did like dogs. He always complained they shedded too much, barked at the smallest things and required too much attention. His opinion changed ever so slightly after taking a hunt with a German Shepherd that required him to meld minds with the animal. His opinion softened, but the lifestyle he led made it impossible up until this point in his life. But seeing this poor fella abandoned on the side of the road, the exact same way he did when all hope felt lost? He couldn’t turn his back on the dog. There was still an ounce of happiness left in him that blossomed back up.
This little guy reminded him that he was in control of his life. There was no one who was going to take Zeppelin away. Or you. Or the twins. Or Sam and his family. And most importantly, Cas. It was funny how dogs could bring out the best in people and reminded them small miracles existed. Maybe dogs weren’t so bad after all.
The Parent-Teacher Conference
Thanks to @leias-left-hair-bun for the inspiration!
Jesse x female Twi’lek reader
“Nope, I’m not going this time! I went last time.” You reminded your husband over the comm. You were going through a To Do List you had made, you had to make sure you’d completed everything before the trial tomorrow.
“But baby, you’re so much better at that than me!” Jesse countered, he used that phrase a lot. Sometimes it was true. But not today.
“Hon, it’s just sitting down with Kasen’s teacher while she tells you that he’s doing okay in her class. She’ll probably tell you something he needs to work on, maybe he’s too talkative, maybe not talkative enough, I don’t know. Where did I put those crime scene photos......oh wait they’re in here already.” You heard Jesse inhale to make another excuse, but you were ready for him.
“Now remember babe, the conference is at 3pm or 1500 your time. You’ll do awesome! I love you!” You made kiss sounds into the comm and ended the conversation.
“Couldn’t get out of it?” Fives asked, him and Echo were gearing up for a friendly game of squash. And by friendly, chances are they’d end up bruised and sore after. They’d discovered the game after watching Obiwan play against Cody and decided to try it themselves. The idea of trying to hit each other with a ball smacked off the wall appealed to them more.
“Nope.” Jesse looked defeated, he never knew what to say at those things. But, he had made you go to the last three.
At 2:45pm, Jesse was sitting in the hallway outside his son’s classroom. Kasen sat next to him reading a book, his foot knocking against his father’s armored calf. A couple of the other parents in the hall gave Jesse nervous glances, it wasn’t every day they saw a fully armored and helmeted ARC Trooper sitting on a bench meant for kids.
“Is he awake?” He heard on dad whisper to another. Jesse was leaning back against the wall, his arms folded over his chest. The look his visor had seemed to be staring down the rest of the parents waiting in the hall. The intimidating visor worked wonders in the principal’s office and with the other teachers, but it had been a while since he’d been to this teacher’s office.
“I don’t know. It looks like he’s staring over here though.” The other dad whispered back. Jesse smirked under his helmet. He actually was busy watching Echo and Fives destroy each other in their friendly squash game via a live feed from Kix. Kasen asked to watch, Jesse transferring the helmet over to his son.
“Hey Uncle Kix!! Who’s winning?”
“Kasen.” A female voice made Jesse sit up, it was time. He took his helmet back from Kasen and placed it back on.
“Come on bud.” He nudged his youngest, who looked nervous. Jesse stood and walked passed the young teacher as she stood aside for them. Kasen hurried to a chair and sat down.
“It’s nice to see you again Mr. Victoire. Your wife has kept you up to date with Kasen’s time in my class yes?” The teacher asked as she sat down behind her desk, Jesse took the seat in front of the desk.
“Uhm, yeah she’s given me the cliff note version.” He said with a shrug.
“Well I’ll start with the good then.” The teacher propped a datapad up on her desk and angled it for Jesse to look at it.
“As you can see, his grades have gone up since the last semester. Especially in reading. Math is going up slowly as well. He’s always been good with science.” The teacher started, this wasn’t so bad. Jesse could do more of these if they were all just looking at his kid’s grades. But then the teacher abruptly jumped into test score averages and where Kasen was in terms of class percentage. It quickly evolved into gibberish.
“Uhhhh...is that good?” Jesse asked after the teacher explained standardized testing and where Kasen was in terms of the educational standards. He looked down at Kasen, so looked just as lost. The teacher gave a smirk.
“It’s a little below average, but not by much. Kasen knows the material, based on his homework grades. But he’s not a good test taker. Which is normal. Not many kids are. I wasn’t. I think he second guesses his answers or blanks sometimes.” This was the part Jesse was dreading. His tests weren’t written. His tests were graded but only in a sense of life or death (simulated and not).
“It’s okay though,” the teacher soothed, picking up on the ARC Trooper’s uncertainty. She had to rely on his tone of voice since he was helmeted. Usually she’d require that he remove his helmet, but she knew it could be a sense of comfort.
“I’m going to start handing out practice tests to the kids who have testing anxiety. Both to do in class and at home. They’re not graded, and it’s not going to be the same test questions, but the material is going to be the same.” She explained, Jesse gave a nod.
“Well, if that’s everything, then...” Jesse stated, pushing his chair back. Kasen quickly grabbing his bag.
“Not quite.” Jesse pulled his chair back in and Kasen’s bag dropped to the floor with a thump.
“Usually I have issues getting kids to stop chatting in class, but Kasen doesn’t talk much at all. Is he a shy kid?” The teacher asked. Jesse gave Kasen a look, which was hidden behind his helmet but he knew his kid saw it.
“Not at home.” Jesse replied. He knew Kasen had issues with some of the other students in his classes. The teacher sighed.
“I know he has gotten into fights. I’ve tried to discipline those students when I see the teasing or fighting happen, but I don’t always catch it.” The woman admitted. She sounded defeated.
“I know his sister steps in and has fought the bullies, but I’m worried about what happens when she ages out of this school.” She added. Jesse and you had worried the same. Kasen could defend himself if he needed, but he wasn’t one to fight first.
“Mr. Victoire?” The teacher’s voice prodded him out of his thoughts. “I have a feeling Kasen’s lack of class participation is due to the students who make fun of him, to put it bluntly. Now, I plan to discuss this with those parents, but perhaps you can work on building Kasen’s confidence.” Jesse gave a nod but still kept his eyes on his kid. Kasen felt his father’s stare and tensed up. These things made him uncomfortable. He relaxed when his father’s hand ruffled his hair.
“Which kids are they? If they’re out in the hall, will you point them out?” Jesse asked, his voice gentle but stern.
“Uhm, sir, I don’t think I can let you intimidate the children...” the teacher began, uncertainly. Jesse sighed.
“Kasen is too good of a kid to point them out. But I’ll think of something. It’s been a good conference, thanks Mrs....?”
“Fortner.” The teacher answered, giving up. She led them to the door and prayed nothing happened that would require her to call the Coruscant Guard. She called the other student and the door closed.
Jesse waited as his son took a homework book out of his locker, his helmeted gaze landing on each of the parents and students still gathered. He wasn’t sure which ones were the culprits, but he decided to just give each a stern stare down. Wolffe would be proud he felt. He’d taken lessons on how to stare intimidatingly while helmeted from him.
“Dad, can we go home now.” Kasen asked.
“Yup, just checking out who all is in your class.” He picked Kasen up, making it crystal clear he was his father.
“I knew he was looking at us!” The father from earlier whispered to the other dad.
“So, you’re going to tell me which kids are being little kriff heads right?” He said clearly as he walked passed the other students and parents gathered. He noted two boys who shifted nervously and refused to look at Kasen. Jesse smirked.
worrisome thoughts | todoroki shouto
genre: fluff // fem! reader
summary: in which todoroki is spent the day overthinking and worrying about whether he said the right thing to (Y/N)
word count? i zon’t know but it’s short~
Tumblr media
You weren’t seated at your assigned desk in class today.
To most, this wasn’t something that would be fretted over. It was natural. Some students would skip class or couldn’t show up to school due to personal reasons. Which is why your classmates weren’t heavily concerned with your non-attendance for the entire school day.
But for Todoroki, it had him on edge.
With each second that ticked by, Todoroki would grow antsier. He held his emotions well, still managing to still follow the lesson and what Aizawa was teaching to the class. Though, his seatmate, Yaoyorozu, was able to see how much your absence was affecting him.
She was puzzled due to how often Todoroki’s heterochromatic eyes would dart over to your empty seat throughout the past hour. Or how he would visibly sit up straighter when your name was announced for roll call or when the secretary buzzed into class to check if you were there.
Todoroki’s peculiar and detached behaviour had also caught the attention of a few of his classmates. “Todoroki-kun, are you okay?” Midoriya asks his friend during lunch. “You seem to be out of it today...”
Todoroki picks at his soba with his utensils, something he rarely does. He doesn’t answer his friend immediately. Instead, he blinks and stares at his food. “(Y/N) isn’t here.”
Uraraka nods, “Mhm, she hasn’t answered my texts! I hope she’s okay,” she ponders out loud. There’s a grain of rice stuck on the side of her cheek which momentarily pulls Todoroki away from his intrusive, prodding thoughts to direct his attention on it.
“It’s probably because I told her that I loved her,” he says, slumping a bit in his chair as he goes to mix around the contents in his bowl.
Uraraka sputters in her cup of water in a state of astonishment while Midoriya has a sheepish, yet stunned, smile on his face. Todoroki was too blunt.
“Perhaps I scared her away.”
Midoriya pats his friend’s shoulder in a reassuring manner. Sometimes Todoroki had tendencies to be aloof with his emotions. So it was only right to comfort him that it wasn’t entirely his fault. “I’m sure you didn’t Todoroki-kun!”
“Yeah!” Uraraka adds. “Besides, you know how (L/N)-san is! She isn’t the best when it comes to reciprocation.”
These were all things Todoroki had talked himself into the morning prior to this conversation. Confirming words he would’ve considered had it not been for the fact that, “She closed the door on me right after when I dropped her off yesterday,” he spoke.
Oh. Well... Crap.
“Okay...! So, maybe visiting her house is a good option, yeah?”
Tumblr media
With the encouragement from his friends and the constant thoughts shrouding his mind, Todoroki worked up the courage to make a quick stop at your house as soon as the school day was done.
So there he stood at the front door of your home with your schoolwork in tow, waiting for you to open the door.
A solid minute has passed by before Todoroki is greeted by the site of your mother. “Ah, Shouto!” She beams down at him, offering him a smile that quite resembled your own. “What brings you here?”
Todoroki swallows and points at the sheets of paper in his hand. It’d be embarrassing if he were to say that he came here all to see why her daughter wouldn’t talk to him after he confessed his love for her. So instead, he settles for a, “I’m just here to drop off some things for (Y/N) since she wasn’t at school.”
Yeah. That sounded way better.
Your mother swings the door open to allow him further entry into the house. “She’s upstairs,” she says, pointing a gloved finger up to the ceiling. “Knock on her door before you enter though. She isn’t in the best of conditions.”
Todoroki slips off his shoes and steps inside. Him saying those three words really must’ve held an effect on you, he initially thought while he climbed the stairs to head to your bedroom.
Todoroki knocks on your door before he invites himself in. Too eager to wait for your response, for he has missed you dearly. “(Y/N)?” He questions before he sees your head peek out from the stacks of pillows on your bed.
“Shouto-kun?”
Your voice sounded a bit croaky and bleak. And your mom was right, you really didn’t look like you were in a good state. Your hair was touselled and you wore a faded red shirt which began to slip inch by inch off of your shoulder with each brash movement you made.
But that all didn’t matter to Todoroki. You still were his S/O.
“I missed you, my love,” he replies, setting your homework down on your nightstand table before he sits on your bed and leans in to give you a kiss.
“Shouto I’m literally sick,” you say, blocking his lips with your hand before it collided with your cheek. Your palm was incredibly warm. “How come you’re here?”
Ah, so you were sick. That explains why there was no sign or word from you in class today.
“For starters, I came to bring you the work from today,” he answers. Now for the real reason why he came to visit you. Todoroki stares down at his plain white socks while he picks at the lint from your comforter. “And to see why you haven’t talked to me since, you know, yesterday.”
“Was shy,” you mumble, turning your face away from him once you began to feel your cheeks grow warm at the memory of him saying the first ‘I love you’ in your relationship. “I didn’t know what to say so I was going to wait until tomorrow --now today, I suppose-- to tell you.”
Now the pieces were gradually starting to be put together.
“But since we were out yesterday and because I didn’t have a jacket, I caught a cold. So I didn’t come to school today.” You explain, studying your boyfriend’s face for any type of reaction that may show. “Sorry if my lack of communication made it seem like I was ignoring you, Shou-kun...”
What a relief. Here he was, spending the entire day overthinking his actions when it turns out it was all a simple misunderstanding.
“So you aren’t upset with me?”
You shake your head. “Why should I be?”
Todoroki reaches for your hand with his right, despite it being clammy due to how hot your room was. You feel him putting his quirk into use, as a means to cool you down. “Does- Does that mean you feel the same?” He asks.
You clear your throat and fix your eyes to stare at anything but the adoring emotion of love and hope in Todoroki’s eyes. For if you were to, you were sure you’d embarrass yourself in front of him for the second time that week.
It wasn’t long before you nod again and release a meek, “Yes,” much to Todoroki’s delight.
Relieved and restored with an abundant sense of joy at the return of your feelings, Todoroki tests his luck again to ask, “May I kiss you, please?” He really, desperately, wanted to release the endearing, heavy emotions he was feeling onto you. Even if you were sick. He didn’t care.
“Shouto!”
But the kiss and catching your cold seemed to be worth it the next week when he sees you walk through his door with homemade food and the homework he had missed for the week.
Stay - Rafe x reader
Tumblr media
(not my gif)
Word count: 1,728
Warnings: Swearing, angst and fluff
Request: prompt number one with rafe pretty please 🥺
Prompt: “Have you ever kissed anyone before?”
A/n: yes I know Rafe is not a good person, but he is intriguing and I love Drew so I just had to write for him, and in this I wrote him much sweeter like they should have written him, and in this he doesn't kill the sheriff.  In this the reader and Rafe are 17 so still in high school as well. Also send in requests for JJ and Rafe, and I’d also be willing to write for John B. and Pope. prompt list
Rafe Cameron. He was the most popular boy at the kook academy. He was the guy girls swooned over even though he tended to be an arrogant ass, especially when he was around his friends. You on the other hand had seen the soft side of him. The side of him the made your heart swell and your cheeks heat up which was precisely why you may have had a tiny crush on him. You on the other hand weren't popular at all. You were one of those people who were just there. No one really had a problem with you, and you had a small group of best friends who were the only people you would hang out with. You would consider Rafe one of your best friends, but just not to the outside world.
Ward Cameron and your father were business partners. You lived a small drive or boat ride from their residence meaning most of their meetings and planning were done in person, and oftentimes Ward would bring Rafe and Sarah along to your house or you and your sister would go there. Your sister was fourteen the same with Sarah, and you and Rafe were seventeen. You sister would usually hang out with Sarah, and you would usually join them, but some days you spend the time with Rafe. A lot of the time it would be working on homework or talking about the kook academy drama going on in your grade. Rafe was a different person when he wasn’t surrounded by others. He was considerate, he would ask you how things were going for you, and he would listen to you if you ever had any problems, and in return you would listen to him. You too were pretty close, but the truth was to the outside world and your fellow classmates you didn’t exist to Rafe. What they didn’t know was you were the person who was always here for him. The person who he came to talk to when you felt alone. At times the fact he would ignore exist unless you were alone together angered you, but you would never say anything about it because the last thing you wanted was to taint the relationship you and
Rafe had built throughout the years of friendship.
Ward was a bad father, that's one thing you knew for sure. The way he treated Rafe was unacceptable, and it broke your heart to hear Rafe tell you the awful things his father would say to him. Sarah was his obvious favorite child. He praised her, and gave her whatever her heart desired, but when it came to Rafe he was never enough, and it weighed him down. Rafe would try, so hard to prove himself to his father. He got good grades, was one of the fastest swimmers on the swim team even making nationals, but Ward didn’t care. You were always there up the pieces and the pain of feeling like a disappointment. Rafe Cameron wasn’t a disappointment to you. To you he was extraordinary, and you made sure to always remind him that you were proud of him.
You and Rafe had an emotional connection that was more than just friendship, but both of you were terrified to ruin it, because you needed each other.
Today Ward brought Rafe to your house to listen in on business plans. He had told Rafe that if he showed responsibility he would maybe be able to take over in the future. Rafe was ecstatic that his father was giving him a chance today, but you were a mess. You were usually a happy person, but you were stressed to the max. You had tests in 3 of your classes and an essay due, and you were overwhelmed to the point you couldn’t think straight. You were frustrated, and ready to have a complete mental breakdown. Tears threatened to spill from your eyes, and all you wanted to do was scream into a pillow. You felt like you were getting worked up over nothing, and that so many people were going through worse, but anxiety was coursing through your veins and you just wanted to cry. Honestly what you really wanted was for someone to hold you well you cried, and the last thing you thought was that the one thing you wanted would come true.
You forgot that Rafe was even here, even though texted you, and asked to hang out after the meeting was over, so when you heard a knock on your door followed by the voice of Rafe asking if you were in there you almost had a heart attack.
You looked like a mess. Your hair was in a messy bun. You were wearing a large sweat shirt that covered your shorts, and your eyes were red, and your make most definitely made you look like a raccoon. You quickly wiped your eyes looking in your full length mirror trying to fix yourself as best as you could and you yelled to him that he could come in. You could tell the meeting must have gone well because his demeanor was soft and happy. You were hoping he wouldn’t be able to tell you were upset, but the second he saw your face he frowned noticing that you were visibly distraught.
“Hey what's wrong” he asked softly, coming closer to you.
“Rafe, it's nothing I wanna hear about how today went,” you said, blinking away the tears that were trying to escape your eyes.
“It doesn’t seem like nothing, you look like you have been crying” he argued, and you walked to sit down against the head of your bed.
“Rafe I’m seriously fine, just tell me about how today went” you reassured, but he wasn’t convinced. He didn’t want to talk about how the meeting went until he fixed whatever had made you cry. Seeing you sad was breaking his heart.
“Please talk to me Y/n, I know you're upset. I've known you long enough to know when you are sad” he said as he took a seat next to you.
“It’s not a big deal. I’m just stressed. I have so many tests and a whole essay to write this weekend, and I feel like my head is going to explode, and all I want to do is curl up and cry” you ranted the tears stinging your eyes again, and you looked away from him as tears slid down your face.
“Hey look I know I can’t study for you, but you are the smartest girl I know, and I know you will be able to get it all done, and after monday I’ll take you out for ice cream to celebrate no matter how you do, because I know how hard you try” he smiled softly turning you face to face him. He wiped a tear from your eyes, and he could tell you were holding in the tears. “It's okay to let it out Y/n sometimes the best thing is to cry, and after you feel better” and with that you started to cry, and Rafe pulled you into his chest, and you cried into his shirt letting out all your anger and stress. He rubbed your back whispering sweet things like how everything was going to be fine, and you held onto him for dear life never wanting to let go. Once you had calmed down you laid limp in his arms. You closed your eyes enjoying the warmth of his body. You eventually pulled away wiping your eyes and looking up at him.
“Thanks Rafe I definitely need that” you whispered.
“It’s no problem I know you do the same for me” he smiled wiping a tear that you had missed from your eye making you blush. This was the closest you had ever really been to him, your face was inches from his. His eyes flicked from your lips back to your eyes, and you were pretty sure he was going to kiss you. You wanted to kiss him, but you were terrified to, not only were you not prepared to face your feelings for him, you had never kissed anyone and the last thing you wanted was to be a horrible kisser, and you were pulled from his thoughts, when he asked.
“Can I kiss you”
Your thoughts were racing, and you knew you had to answer quickly or it would get really awkward really fast so you said what you wanted to say.
“Yes” but before he could lean in you cut him off. “But i’ve never well..” you trailed off your face becoming as bright as a tomato, and you bowed your head down. His eyes widened for a second when he realized you never kissed anyone. He thought your reaction was adorable.
“Have you ever kissed anyone before?” he smirked
“No” you mumbled.
“Do you want to kiss me” he asked hopefully.
“So bad” you responded looking back up at him, and he slowly connected his lips to yours. His lips were soft, adn a bit chapped. His lips moved slowly against yours and one of his hands held your cheek. Your brain was going into overload, and you felt all the stress slip away from your body, because you were kissing the boy you’ve been crushing on since elementary school. You pulled apart from the kiss your faces still close.
“So how was that for a first kiss?” he breathed.
“Everything I wanted and more” you smiled giving him a peck on the lips.
“So how would you feel about me taking you out to dinner next week?” he winked.
“I think we could arrange something” you giggled, and he kissed your forehead, and you cuddled back into his chest enjoying the fact that the boy you loved was now yours.
-------------------------
After school, Dream, George, and Sapnap tossed their bags into Techno’s trunk. Technically, he and Dream did have PowerPoint projects to complete, but it was a solo project and he already finished it at lunch.
Snagging the shotgun seat, Sapnap cheered, “To the mall!”
Techno grimaced. At least Sapnap was excited.
Actually, there was one good thing that came from them: friendship. Techno had met Dream at one of these mall fights while they went to different middle schools, then they ended up at the same high school and started to drag Dream’s other friends to them. Techno didn’t mind George and Sapnap, they were just more Dream’s friends than his.
Techno drove them out of the city, and they cruised down the highway for twenty minutes before pulling off to the exit towards the abandoned mall.
“I’ve never understood why this shit happens right after school,” George said.
Dream answered him, “It’s because the cops think this stuff happens at night. They don’t think to look for this stuff during the day.”
“Plus, there’s a lot more of the other stuff going on, so they’re busy.”
“Why do you know that, Sapnap?”
“Reasons.”
Techno rolled his eyes at the trio, and pulled the first aid kit and his backpack out of the trunk. “I’m gonna stay in the car today.” He handed the box to George. “Math homework due tomorrow,” he explained.
“Ah man. That’s too bad,” Dream said, stretching out his arms. “More practice for me.”
“Maybe you’ll even beat me next time,” Techno joked.
Dream wheezed, and Sapnap had to push him away towards the building.
Techno got back in his car, cranked the radio, and blasted the AC, shutting the windows tight. Throwing the bag into the seat next to him, Techno pulled out his binder, and opened it to a fresh piece of graph paper. Study time lasted all of forty minutes before the sirens rang out.
“Snitch,” he muttered to himself. He slumped down in his seat, and pulled out his phone. He debated who to text before deciding that George was least likely to be busy at any given moment.
Techno Got snitched Cops in lot
George Fuck Dream says leave Drop our stuff at Bad’s Drop Tubbo with Punz
Techno Roger
A squad of four cars descended on the parking lot. Most of the officers stormed the mall, but three stayed behind. Two began making their rounds around the parking lot, but--of course--the other was left behind to secure the entrance. It was standard procedure, so Techno wasn’t very surprised to see this happening.
Techno made the decision to continue doing his homework rather than try to get away. He tossed his phone on the passenger seat and turned the radio off.
He was calm. He was cool. He was doing his math homework. He was rolling down the window when prompted by a tap on the glass.
“Captain Craft,” the officer stated.
“Pleasure,” Techno responded.
“License and registration.”
Techno grabbed his wallet from his backpack and gave Captain Craft his license. He leaned over to the glove box to grab his car’s registration. “Afternoon Sir,” he muttered, handing over his paperwork.
“Techno Blade? Unique name.”
Techno snorted at the officer’s attempt at small talk. “Was born with it, I'm afraid.”
“That’s cool.” He handed Techno back his paperwork. “What are you doing here?”
Techno gestured to the paper in his lap. “Homework. Got a calculus test next week.”
“Smart kid.” Captain Craft was writing things down in his notebook. “Do you know why the police were called to this location?”
“No Sir.”
“What brings you here?”
“A quiet space to work, the foster home gets really loud. Normally this place is empty.”
“Normally it is,” Captain Craft agreed. “So you don’t know anything about a potential drug deal?”
The surprise on Techno’s face was genuine. Yeah this was an illegal ring, but drug deals? Really? “No Sir. I’m just doing my homework.”
“You promise?”
“Yeah,” Techno said, not playing the officer’s game.
Captain Craft leaned back to look at the backseat.
Techno had never been more thankful that Dream, Sapnap, and George liked throwing their stuff in the trunk for more leg room in the backseat.
Captain Craft patted the car. “Well. I feel comfortable letting you go free kid. Clearly you have nothing to do with this.”
“No Sir.”
“Techno Blade was it?”
“Yes Sir.”
“Do you have a number we could potentially call if need be?”
Now, Techno would have loved to give the officer his home number--giving the police a direct line of contact with his cell didn’t sound good--but that was a horrible idea. One of the other kids would pick up the phone, and they’d talk. Or the Foster Bitch would pick up, and she’d just cuss out the poor person who called. “Yeah. Let me get you my cell number.”
Captain Craft scribed the number down in his notebook. He flipped the page and ripped off the next page. “Doctor’s note to get you out of the parking lot.”
Techno snorted as he grabbed the paper. “Thanks.”
Techno shifted the car into reserve and pulled out of his parking spot. He drove towards the checkpoint and didn’t roll up the window until the officer standing guard approved his departure.
Techno arrived at Sapnap and Bad’s house. He pulled into the parking spot in the apartment’s garage that Bad paid for, so Sapnap’s friends could leave their cars when they came over. He grunted in annoyance at the weight of the three backpacks; there also wasn’t a convenient way to carry three backpacks. He rode the elevator up to the first floor and buzzed Bad’s apartments.
“Who’s there?” Bad’s voice crackles through the intercom.
“Techno, I’m here for delivery and pickup.”
Bad laughed.. “Hi Techno, they’re in the middle of something so it’ll be a little while.” The buzzer sounds and Techno steps into the room, taking the elevator to Bad’s floor, which was unreasonably high. How was Sapnap supposed to climb through the window late at night at this height?
Although Techno was required to have someone buzz him in, he conveniently had his own key for the door, and could use that. Techno couldn’t be bothered to remember which room was Sapnap’s, but he knew where the guest room was, so he tossed all their stuff in there.
“Hi Bad. Have any snacks?” Techno asked, entering the kitchen. Mario Kart sounds floated over from the living room. “It’s time to go home!” Techno called out to the kids.
“Why?” Tommy yelled back.
“Because. Also Tubbo, Dream said that I’m dropping you off with Purpled at Punz’s place.”
“Oh.” Techno could hear the way Tubbo’s face fell. “He got into something again?”
Techno took the plate of sandwiches from Bad and brought them out to the boys. He gave Tubbo a tight smile. “Apparently, but he’ll be fine.”
Once the boys finished their game--Ranboo won--they all bid Bad adieu and head back for Techno’s car. The boys and their backpacks file in. Tommy sat up front; Tubbo situated himself on the middle hump, and Purpled and Ranboo arranged their legs accordingly.
He let the boys karaoke on the way to Punz’s place. They were very loud, but it helps that he didn’t have to worry about where he was going, as he is far more familiar with these streets than he would have liked to be.
Techno pulls into the driveway. “Get out.”
“Thanks for the drive Blade!” Tubbo said, following Purpled out of the backseat.
“Good luck!” Ranboo yelled after them, stretching his legs into the newfound space he had at his disposal.
“Stay safe!” Tommy shouted, only half joking. “Let’s get out of here.”
Techno pulled out of the area once Tubbo and Purpled had made it into the house. He then drove them out of the slums to the richer areas of the city where Ranboo lived. He parked the car in Ranboo’s cul de sac.
“This is my stop,” Ranboo said lowly.
“This is your stop.” After a few minutes of silence Techno spoke again. “You gonna get out?”
“Yeah. Yeah.” Ranboo opened the door. “Thanks for the ride!” He pushed it shut once outside and walked up the lawn to his manor.
Tommy waved goodbye to his friend then turned to look straight ahead. “Let’s go back now.”
“Are you still mad at me for hanging out with Dream?”
Tommy didn’t respond.
Techno pressed on the gas and brought the car back to the main road. “I’m allowed to have friends, kid. I don’t need to explain myself to you.”
“Then stop. Stop defending yourself. You don’t need my approval.”
“When did you get older than me?”
“When you started hanging out with kids who get put in the newspaper for petty crimes!”
“I’ve been hanging out with Dream since long before you even got here.”
“And? People change. Little Dream isn't big Dream!”
“I know who my friends are,” Techno bit.
“I hope you do. Because Tubbo is having a sleepover with Purpled which means Dream isn’t home. And you were there. So what happened?”
All of Techno’s pent up energy left his body, and he fell into a steely expression. “Nothing.”
“Something happened! Why isn’t Dream home?”
Techno turned on the radio.
“Tell me bitch boy!”
“Do you want to eat tonight?” Techno shouted back at him, turning to face him directly now that they were stopped at a red light.
Tommy’s eyes were wide. He had one hand on his seat belt buckle and one on the door handle. He was as pressed away from Techno as he could get in the car. He was holding his breath and his body was tense. “Please,” he whimpered.
Techno tensed up as well. He had gone too far. He knew he had gone too far. That wasn’t cool playing on Tommy’s fears like that. “Tommy--”
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I’ll shut up. Please. I know it’s your stash. Please.”
“Tommy.” The light turned green. “We’ve been over this. My stash is your stash.”
Tommy mutely shook his head, refusing to reply.
Internally sighing, Techno tapped his finger on the side of the steering wheel, his brain working hard. He should have known not to say that with Tommy, but of course he had to mess up again.
The car behind them honked its horn loudly, jerking Techno out of his thoughts. He lifted his foot from the brake, and placed it down on the gas, accelerating forwards, and allowing the long line of traffic behind him to go.
Tommy still hadn't spoken, but was shaking slightly, and it wasn't because he was cold.
“My stash is your stash,” Techno reiterated, if only to fill the silence.
“No it’s not,” Tommy said in a small voice. “You keep saying it is, but it’s not.”
“Then steal from my stash to make your own stash. You’ve done that before.”
“Not from people I need to like me.”
Techno stopped looking at Tommy in hopes he would calm down slightly. “I do like you,” he reassured. “If I didn’t I wouldn’t be trying to convince you that we share a stash.”
Tommy fiddled with the radio stations and made a noncommittal sound of what Techno pretended was agreement.
Techno and Tommy spent the rest of the ride home in silence, Techno glancing at Tommy out of the corner of his eye the whole time.
When they arrived home, Techno put the car in park, and undid his seatbelt, but made no move to get out of the car. Twisting his neck, he looked Tommy in the eyes.
Techno knew what Tommy needed to hear, even if he hated having to need to say it. “You can eat tonight. Grab whatever you want from my stash.”
“Really?” Tommy asked more hopefully than Techno was comfortable with.
“Yeah.”
Tommy then bolted out of the car, as if to make sure he did the thing while he had permission before it was taken away abruptly.
Which Techno would never do. Techno was feeling like shit playing on Tommy’s insecurities to get him to shut up. That wasn’t cool and he knew that. Techno slowly pulled himself out of the car. He grabbed his backpack, and the one Tommy had left in his haste.
Walking slowly to the house, Techno gave Tommy some time to settle in before entering their shared space. Yes he generally wished that Tommy was quieter after 10pm, but tonight it would be for the wrong reasons.
At least Tommy didn’t seem to think Techno was about to hit him.
Falling For Red Masterlist
This Months Writing
Leaning against the wall that led to the house, I placed a cigarette between my lips, watching as the smoke rose into the air, my mind was spinning. Right now I hated everyone, mainly Grayson and Blade. I kind of got why Blade was acting up, ever since Axel had gotten home, I had pushed him a side. But Grayson, he was a different story entirely. Every fibre of my body screamed when I was around him, I wanted to punch and stab him but at the same time I felt this weird pull towards him.
A pull that made me want to submit fully to him. No matter how much I hated him, it was like my pussy took over from my brain. God I was turning into a guy. I didn’t think it was physically possible to know this little about someone but hate every ounce of my body. But I guess I had never met anyone like Grayson fucking Knox before.
“Yo Red?” Phoenix shouted from the porch. “You calmer now?”
“Define calmer Nix” I smirked, throwing the cigarette butt on the floor, crushing it into the tarmac with my foot.
“Well do I need to hide the knives or are we safe?” He smirked as I waltzed up the path, wrapping my arms around his waist as soon as I was close enough.
Nix was like the older brother I never had. Even though we fought all the time, Nix fully understood me. He knew when he was about to cross a line and stopped before he did. He was also my confidant, I could tell him everything and he alway had pretty decent advice.
“It all depends if anyone pisses me off” I said looking up at my bearded teddy bear. “But I would suggest they stay out of the kitchen whilst I cook”
“Thank god I am starving” he winked as he walked into the house “I think I am gonna waste away soon”
“Idiot” I laughed, shaking my head as I followed him into the house and into the kitchen.
As I was prepping the onions for my homemade spaghetti bolognese, I heard the sound of Jacob laughing. My grip tightened on the knife as I tried to calm my breathing. I was being tested today, but somehow I didn’t think this encounter would be as pleasant as the previous ones of the day. Who was I kidding, I had nearly stabbed two people and it wasn’t even five pm yet.
“Just breathe Angel” Maddox smiled, kissing my head “ignore him”
“I will as long as he stays out of-” I nodded stopping as Jacob strolled into the kitchen like he lived here “the kitchen”
“Oh you can actually cook then” Jacob laughed as he leant against the fridge, “here's me thinking you just live on takeaways”
“Jay don't,” Blade sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“I’m just saying” Jacob shrugged “I mean who knew Lola could cook let alone hold her own, this isn’t the Lola I know”
That was it I saw red, within seconds I was lunging at Jacob, with the knife still in my firm grasp. The guys didn’t do anything, they had warned Jacob that if he called me Lola again they wouldn’t intervene. The only sound in the kitchen was Jacob crying in agony as I plunged the knife into his thigh, knowing exactly where to stab so I didn’t hit an artery. It felt good to actually hurt someone today, it was what I needed after a completely fucked up day.
“You psycho bitch” He hissed looking down at the knife jammed in his thigh “You stabbed me”
“You called me Lola asshole” I shrugged, going back to the stove pouring the onions into the pan.
“We did warn you man,” Axel said with no emotion in his voice. “Blade take your idiot of a brother out of here and get his leg seen to, last thing we need is his blood getting in the grout”
“I won’t forget this you bitch” Jacob sneered as Blade helped him out of the kitchen.
I had blocked everyone out, yes it felt good to finally have stabbed someone today but I felt the tears burn my eyes as my mind drifted back to the time of highschool.
Another day in hell, I hated this place with a passion, in fact I hated life with a passion. Ever since my so-called family had disowned me due to getting arrested for fighting. Family that was meant to love you and help you through the shit times, not kick you out at the age of fifteen. Taking a deep breath, I adjusted the straps of the backpack on my shoulders before walking into hell, I'm sorry school. I tried to keep a low profile, I didn’t need the unwanted attention, but it came anyway.
In the form of Jacob Rivers.
He thought he owned this school, he had everyone wrapped around his little finger, he said jump and they would say how high. And he also made my life a living hell.
I was weak, kind of nerdy and vulnerable.
No one wanted to be my friend after her parents disowned me, why would they?
“Well if it isn’t Lola Hudson” Jacob sneered with an evil smirk on his face as he slammed the door to my locker closed, almost trapping my fingers in the hinges. “Have you got my homework?”
I didn’t make any eye contact and tried to make myself as small as possible, wishing this day to be over all ready. When I didn’t answer him, I found myself being thrown against the metal lockers, and a fist connecting with my face, throwing my head to the right, followed by the slow trickle of blood coming from my nose.
“You are just a pathetic bitch” Jacob laughed grabbing my face. “You will never amount to anything, ever. Your parents didn’t even want you”
I didn’t say anything, it was like my body had frozen in place, my limbs felt like they were weighed down with lead bricks. So I just took the abuse, just like every single day.
“Get the fuck off her” A voice roared.
The voice made me look around, no one had ever come to my aid before. Yet here was Blade Rivers swooping in and saving my pathetic ass.
“Brother, I said get off her” Blade growled grabbing his brother by the shoulder “She has done nothing to you so just back off”
“Well if it isn’t my brother coming in to save the day” Jacob sneered with a laugh before he turned back to face me “One day, he won’t be around to save your ass, and I will get the last laugh, trust me”
I kept my eyes on the cracks in the tiled floor, I didn’t dare look up. Not until a hand being placed on my shoulder made her jump.
“Hey it’s okay” Blade whispered “I’m not going to hurt you, and trust me I won’t let him hurt you again”
“You aren’t going to be around all the time” I mumbled, still not making eye contact with Blade.
“I know” he whispered placing his thumb under me chin so I was forced to look at him “But I will teach you how to protect yourself, how to fight back”
From that moment, I vowed to never feel weak again. Lola was dead and Angel would rise from the ashes of the destruction.
“Princess” Axel whispered, brushing his knuckles over my cheek, drying a couple of tears that had fallen, and in the process pulling me out of the dark thoughts.
“Yeah” I mumbled.
“Leave dinner to Nix okay” he whispered looking into my eyes, I knew he hated that he couldn’t read my emotions at the moment. “Why don’t you come tell me about your case whilst we cuddle”
“No” I snapped, snatching my body out of Axel’s grasp. “I just want to be alone, I have had enough of people today”
“Princess wait” Axel whispered as I sprinted out of the kitchen, the thuds on the stairs told them where I was headed.
This was confirmed when I slammed my bedroom door, followed by the heavy bass from my music vibrating the walls of the house.
I Wanna Know What It’s Like (f.w.)
A/N: So, I am going to start making new Masterlists and today I was supposed to start them, but I’ve had this idea for an imagine in my head for weeks now so I am writing it instead. I also couldn’t choose who to write this for so I’m doing multiple variations of this for different characters and stuff. I decided to do Fred first bc my other Fred imagine was really sad so this is a way to make up for that unnecessary sadness.
I am also testing out a new scene divider, idk if I’ll like it, but we’ll see! This is a repost bc the tags weren’t working the first time a posted which was upsetting and I really hope that they work this time. This is another repost (last one for a while if this one doesn’t get any feedback or the tags don’t work).
Anyway, Enjoy!
Pairing: Fred Weasley x Gryffindor!Reader
Fandom: Harry Potter
Inspo: The Tik Tok audio for Let’s Be Friends by Emily Osment, links to the song below so you don’t have to search for it like I had to 😂
                  - The song the Tik Tok audio is cut from                   - Slowed version I found and really like
Warnings: None except making out I guess. Some NSFW hints and thoughts. Like downright sinful thoughts. Hints towards a kinky reader? (Is that even a warning? And is wanting to be completely railed a kink? Is it?)
Y/n couldn’t seem to pull her eyes from the red-head seated next to his identical twin. The pair of them sitting farther down the Gryffindor table than Y/n and her friends. The hall was silent as all the students were working on their essays, being monitored by Snape, but the greasy Potions Master nor the rules silenced the twins - them having found a loophole that let them annoy the largely hated Professor. There was a rule about no talking, but he couldn’t punish them if they never spoke actual words, could he? From where she sat, she could hear their loud grunts and hums from their wordless conversation with each other.
She didn’t understand the sudden fascination with the Weasley boy. It confused her since when she had left Hogwarts last year, she found him annoying, but alas, once she laid eyes on him for the first time this year at the Welcoming Feast, something had changed. She definitely couldn’t pin-point it to save her soul. Maybe it was the fact that he had grown his hair out, but then she’d also be attracted to his twin since he had done the same. Could it have been that she finally developed her attraction to bad boys? Was she looking to spice up her dating life since her past boyfriends had been quite lackluster with their golden-boy attitudes? Whatever it was, it made her question her sanity since this was Fred Weasley she was talking about. The same boy who decided it would be funny to throw a large Dungbomb into her dorm in First Year. She had stunk for a good two weeks along with the only other girl that was in her room at the time.
“L/n,” The monotone drawl of Snape made her feel like someone had just dumped a bucket of ice water over her - which she was thankful for since she could sense her thoughts for the red-head were about to take a steamier turn. Gulping, she slowly turned her head to look at the scowling man donned in black. “I suspect that you’re done your essay already since you certainly do not look like you’re working on it anymore. Didn’t take you to be too keen about potions based on your unsuccessful potion brewing.” His voice was slow and sharp, showing that he was not in the mood to even be pleasant to Gryffindors.
“Almost, sir. Just a bit distracted. Sorry, Professor.” She shrunk under his hardening glare, realizing that he probably didn’t want her to answer his statement.
“Five points from Gryffindor for talking, L/n.” Snape sneered making Y/n’s jaw fall in shock. Her eyes stared up at him in disbelief. He was the one who talked to her first!
“But I was just-”
“Another five points from Gryffindor, need I take more?” Snape asked in a threatening tone, his frame seeming to grow and tower over the girl, intimidating her. She gulped, shaking her head nervously, remaining silent. She might not be someone who thought things through before acting, but she certainly did learn from her mistakes - usually after the second time. With a nod and a flick of his long cloak, Snape stalked along the table, glaring at the Weasley twins as they continued on with their nonsense, pushing his buttons as he waited for the moment one of them slipped up. Huffing as she casted one last glance towards Fred, she couldn’t help letting the question slip through her lips.
“When did he get hot?” Her eyes widened when she realized she muttered the words out loud. Her friends looked up from their own essays, snickering at the red-faced Gryffindor. A few other Gryffindors looked up at the girl in confusion, but she noticed that her quiet voice hadn’t reached the students near the Twins. She let out the breath she held, thinking that she was safe from embarrassment from Fred hearing and Snape hearing, but her false sense of security was yanked out from under her.
“Another five points from Gryffindor, Miss L/n!” She cringed, peeking up to see Snape glaring at her from the middle of the Great Hall. A groan emitted from her before her forehead fell against where she thought her pile of parchment and books were only for it to thud against the wooden table harshly. She didn’t react, only hissing and scrunching her face in pain but otherwise keeping her head down.
_____________________________________________________________________
Saturday was the day of relaxation. Where you ignore all your problems like the load of homework you had due on Monday. The day was designed for this, putting everything off and worrying about it on Sunday when you had a pile of work that needed to be done in the single day. Y/n was the queen of blissful Saturday ignorance which is why it was so surprising to see her sitting outside, staring blankly at the lake (at least they thought it was the lake) as she clearly worried about something. Her friends, in turn, ended up breaking their Saturday tradition to worry about their friend.
In reality, Y/n wasn’t staring at a wall and she really wasn’t worried about anything. As her and her friends sat under the shade of a large tree, the Weasley Twins were tossing something into the lake. She was sure they were up to something, but that wasn’t on her mind. What was on her mind was the fact that she was still trying to figure out why she liked Fred Weasley. She had figured her feelings for the boy when she saw him flirting with some random Ravenclaw Prefect to create a distraction for George to slip past the Prefect and place their product in her bag that sat on the floor by her feet. Before realizing what the two masterminds had plotted, she felt a wave of unfamiliar anger flaring in the pit of her stomach - something she later diagnosed as jealously.
Her thoughts were definitely clouded with steamy thoughts that could be the contents of a dirty movie. As her eyes scanned over the tall boy standing at the shore of the lake, laughing mischievously with his twin, she couldn’t help but wonder if he was different than her past experiences. He was a flirt, he talked a big game, but when it got down to it, did he really know how to please her? Did he know how to make her scream louder than she ever has? Would he be scared to hurt her or would he not think twice to push her into the mattress and completely destroy her? “Y/n!” Her friend shoved her, making her almost topple over. Snapping her once glazed-over eyes to her friend, she saw her friend group blinking at her expectantly.
“What,” She asked, clearing her throat when her words came out too high to be played off as normal. The friend that had pushed her shared a concerned look with the others before looking back at the wide-eyed girl whose cheeks had become tinted with pink when she retraced her thoughts. “What do you want Cami?”
“We were talking about Cedric and asked you a question-” Another friend, Alyssa, popped into the conversation. Cedric, Hogwarts Heartthrob and Golden-boy. When Y/n broke up with Roger Davis, they were sure her and Cedric would pair up, they were the most attractive students at Hogwarts, they would be the power couple - it must have been destined. Y/n was even convinced that they would end up dating this year, but once she caught sight of Fred, that all went out the window. She wasn’t entirely convinced that it was entirely the oldest twin’s doing since when Y/n saw Cedric on the platform before boarding the train, she questioned what all the fawning was about. Sure, he was attractive, but he was too good. If she had dated him, she’d probably end up bored of the relationship just like the others.
“Repeated it ten times, too.” Her Hufflepuff friend, Sophie, spoke up.
“We wanted to know when you guys were going to get together? Word has it, Cho and him have been talking, you might want to jump on him when you have a chance! Ask him to the Yule Ball!” Cami regained control of the conversation. Y/n shrugged, opening her mouth to speak, but was interrupted by her other friend pointing off towards the lake.
“Look! Janet Green is going to ask Fred to the Yule Ball,” Alyssa exclaimed in a hushed, gossipy voice. Y/n instantly looked towards the lake to see the same Ravenclaw Prefect Fred flirted with approaching the snickering twins. “I heard she’s been plucking up the courage for days. Poor girl, hope he says yes. It’d be awfully embarrassing to be turned down after it’s all she’s been talking about!” She gushed in a fake sympathetic tone. She lived for drama and gossip, no matter what Fred answered, it’d be good for her since she’d be able to spread the news.
The group watched, Y/n hoping that Fred would say no. Janet started to talk, nervously playing with the ring on her pointer finger as she talked to him, George watching with a playful smirk on his face still. Y/n took in the younger twin’s form, seeing his shoulders shaking ever so slightly with smothered laughter, the smirk on his face saying that he knew the answer his brother was going to give. Y/n furrowed her brows as he obviously enjoyed the situation his brother was being placed in. “I can’t watch this-” Sophie gasped, being cut off.
“Be quiet, they’ll know we’re watching!” Alyssa hissed at her, whacking her with the muggle magazine her mother sent her. The snap of the magazine resulted in George flicking his eyes up to the group, all of their eyes widening, but his smirk just grew more and they could clearly see a sparkle in his eyes when he noticed Y/n staring intently down at the group. They could all see that his eyes stayed on her for a solid second, singling her out before he sent her a knowing wink before he looked back at his stammering twin.
“That,” Sophie breathed out. “Did not go well, poor girl.” She finished with a real sympathetic sigh.
“Yeah,” Alyssa let out a fake sigh before smiling brightly. “I’ve got to go tell Alicia Spinnet, she owes me ten sickles!” And with that, she scrambled up and was running towards the castle.
“Alyssa, no! You’ll embarrass the poor girl further!” Sophie gasped, chasing after her Gryffindor friend. Cami watched the two runoff, but Y/n couldn’t be bothered with them. She was too busy trying to decode what had just happened. From her thoughts to George’s wink. It was all like a secret code. She watched closely as George poked fun at Fred once the embarrassed Ravenclaw was far enough away. She hummed, noticing George trying to discretely point towards her as he tried to convince Fred of something. She could see Fred’s hair blowing slightly, the flaming hair looking smooth. Suddenly, her mind was clouded once again, imagining how it feels to have him press her up against a wall, her legs wrapped around his waist, their lips locked together in a heated kiss, their tongues invading each other’s mouth, her fingers tangled in the locks of fire-
“What are you doing, Y/n,” Cami asked, snapping her out of her daydream. She looked over at her friend to see her with furrowed brows. “You were,” She paused, looking disturbed by the next word she was going to say. “Moaning, I think?” She wasn’t even sure what Y/n was doing. Y/n would have normally flushed in embarrassment, but it seemed like her mind had a different plan. She wanted to know what the big deal about Fred Weasley was about. There must be something about him that she wanted, why else would she be plagued with these curiosities? She can’t even look at the guy without suddenly wondering something about him. She wanted to know how his lips tasted, to know if his hair was soft, if her fingers could glide right through his locks without getting caught on any tangles. She wanted to know everything her mind was wondering.
“I’m going to go get answers, that’s what.” She told her friend, making Cami more confused as she stood up, her eyes on Fred and George. George, seeing that Y/n was storming her way over, looking like she was on a mission quickly told his brother who seemed to freeze before turning around to see that his brother was telling the truth. After a second of shock, he plastered his normal smirk on his lips, but Y/n could see the nervousness in his eyes. She had studied that smirk since the beginning of the year after all.
Cami watched in shock and confusion as her friend marched up to Fred, standing in front of him. The tall boy looked down at her, his smirk still on his face (looking normal to her) as Y/n craned her neck to look at his face. “Hey, Fred.” Y/n smiled, completely unsure of how she was doing this. Her inner self was having a complete meltdown, her brain being overridden with confidence.
“Hello, Y/n.” He perked an eyebrow at the girl, feeling her confidence rolling from her, a stark difference from Janet a mere few minutes ago. She hummed, a smirk that she didn’t even know she could produce stretching onto her face. It was like she wasn’t even in control of her body, she was being driven by her sheer attraction to the boy standing in front of her.
“Let’s be friends so we can make out,” She came right out with it, Fred’s smirk falling as he nearly choked on his own spit, taken back by her statement. “You’re hot, I wanna know what it’d be like. We can go to the Yule Ball, sneak away to make out in a dark hallway,” She shrugged, her eyes glistening with the normal flirtatious sparkle Fred held in his. “Don’t you wanna know what it’d be like to make out with someone who has only been with good guys? Show me the wild side?” She stepped closer to him, her hand skimming his hip as she did so, her hip bone hitting just below his hip due to the height difference.
Fred was silent, his pupils completely blown as he processed what was going on. Her confidence faltered slightly, but she then remembered all the flirting tips she had read in Alyssa’s magazines. Walk away, leave them wanting more. She picked the dropped confidence up, adding more onto the surge she was miraculously given somehow. “If you want to take me up on the offer, you know where to find me.” She rolled up onto the balls of her feet, pressing a soft kiss to the skin close to Fred’s mouth while still being able to say it was the cheek before spinning around and sauntering back towards stunned Cami. It took everything in her to fight against her inner self that wanted to die right there not to drop the smirk, hoping that he’d come after her once he got over his shock.
The hand wrapping around her wrist didn’t surprise her, she almost knew it was coming. In a swift movement, she was whirled back around, facing Fred who panted slightly, a flirty smirk on his face as he gazed down at her. “I think I’ll take the offer,” He hummed, his eyes dropping down to look at her lips, his tongue swiping over his bottom lip hungrily. “You and me, the Yule Ball and a dark hallway, see you then.” He pressed a kiss to the very corner of her lips, regaining his confidence before releasing her wrist and walking back towards the lake where his brother smiled proudly. She watched him, the corners of her lips feeling the aftershocks of having his lips touch her. Cami walked up to stand beside her, looking at Fred and George as well.
“Guess you’re gonna need to get a really sexy dress now,” She commented, nodding absentmindedly. Y/n hummed in agreement, stunned that it had worked and that she had actually just did that. “Now I know why you’re a Gryffindor,” She added on before grabbing Y/n’s arm and dragging her back to the castle. “Come on, we need to make a list for possible dresses and Alyssa owes me the ten sickles Alicia is giving her.”
