Some Byler flirting on the Wheeler's roof for BylerDay 2023🥰
I made a speedpaint for this👀
I recorded about 3,5h of footage of the process. I didn't record everything(like the bg, the hands, fixing mike's face etc.) and I cut some parts where I was messing up a lot or was just being super slow. Very impressed with myself for getting this done so fast and also for once recording most of it. I usually don't even bother recording because I am so slow🙃 (speeding up the footage really fucked up the quality at the shading part but oh well)

Fifty Reasons To Share A Bed
Thanks for the prompt @jroseley <3 <3
41) Because your cat sleeps on my chest. (I’m not here for you… of course.)
Set between the first and second THG books.
Canon-Divergent.
"Bad night?" Prim asked as Katniss stopped to pull her boots on before heading out to do whatever she filled her days with while their mother worked and Prim went to school. Katniss had been so different since she'd come home. She worried about her sister.
“Yeah, it was; sorry I woke you up,” Katniss admitted.
That wasn't why Prim had mentioned it. But now that the door was open---"I don't know if you're aware, but you were calling for Peeta in your sleep again," she said.
Katniss visibly stiffened.
“I wish you would at least talk to him,” Prim said, picking Buttercup up and scratching the big baby behind his ears.
Katniss stared out the window and across the road where Peeta’s house sat, silent as the grave. No one but Haymitch ever visited there. If it weren’t for the tail of smoke coming from the chimney, it would be easy to think the house was empty. “He's avoiding me too. It’s complicated,” she said before leaving.
Prim sighed. Ignoring each other wasn't going to reconcile anything.
Buttercup began purring in Prim's arms, a low rumble that vibrated through her fingertips. She studied her big orange tomcat, and an idea took root in her mind.
"Hey boy, we have some work to do," she explained, carrying him into the living room and sitting with him. As she brushed out his fur, Prim explained the details to him. Buttercup's gold eyes glowed with extraordinary intelligence. He blinked at her, occasionally capturing her wrist with his paws and licking her hand.
KPKPKPKPKPKP
Prim watched out the window as Peeta crossed Victor's Village with Buttercup in his arms. He navigated the walkway and the front steps, balancing the cat before disappearing beneath the porch roof. Stealthily, she snuck out of her bedroom and hid in the back stairwell where she could eavesdrop on his and her sister's conversation.
"I don't know why Buttercup keeps coming over," she hears Peeta say.
"Me neither. He's obsessed with Prim," Katniss said. "But, uh, thanks for bringing him home. I'll make sure to shut him in tonight."
"He's fine. He doesn't really bother me, just sleeps on my chest," Peeta admits.
"It's a nice place to sleep," Katniss says, shocking Prim so much she has to stifle her laughter to keep them from hearing her.
Her sister was an idiot when it came to her feelings, plain and simple. She knows Katniss better than everyone else, but still, Prim thought her crush on Peeta was pretty obvious to everyone watching from home. Why else would Gale be so jealous of Peeta?
Peeta and Katniss both laugh quietly. "Yeah, I like knowing someone else is there at night," he said.
"Probably gets lonely at your house with your family all in town," Katniss said, voice soft.
"Yeah. Too far for them to walk to work, so my mother says."
"Still feels like I'm alone a lot of the time, even when everyone is home," Katniss admitted.
"No one else understands what it was like," Peeta supplied the answer they both had to be thinking.
"No. No, they don't."
Prim left after that, allowing Katniss and Peeta some privacy to talk now that they were beginning to patch things up. Her work was done, and Buttercup's as well.
"Tonight, you need to stay with me," she whispered to the cat when he nosed the door open and strolled into her room. Buttercup sat down and regarded her seriously. Prim had no idea how he understood her, but she knew he did. Later that night, when Buttercup was curled up at her side, she heard the back door open, followed by heavy footsteps to Katniss's room.
Prim just knew her sister would sleep better tonight.

How would Midorima, Akashi and Murasakibara react to over hearing a popular older senpai in their school saying she thinks they are cute but then she say something like "too bad he's so young." These boys are my favorite but they are so serious I want to see them cute and bushing.
Murasakibara.....serious? *hits X to doubt*
Akashi + Midorima + Murasakibara - Older Senpai Reader
Akashi
He had heard his name wafting out of the music room, like the forgotten notes of the instruments, when he had been passing by.
“Akashi-kun is so cute!” One of the seniors said. Cooing like a silly girl at [Y/N]. Also a senior, and someone he was familiar with from student council. “You’re so lucky to have student council meetings with him. I bet he’s so dreamy when he’s being all authoritative. I’m so jealous!”
“Akashi-san is very capable.” They reply calmly, and the redhead smiled. That was what he liked about [Y/N]. They were very level headed and practical. None of this ridiculous, childish flittering that other girls did. It was how he had come to admire them so. “Too bad he’s so young.”
Akashi’s back straightened at the remark. Feeling....offended somehow.
He wasn’t sure why. His age had never bothered him before. In fact, he took it as a compliment most times that he had accomplished so much for being so young. This was the first time he had felt it was a detriment.
The council president adjusted his tie, then went on with his business away from the music room before he could eavesdrop any further. It wasn’t very dignified to listen to other people’s conversations. Nor be flustered by things he wasn’t supposed to hear in the first place.
Midorima
Cram school was hard. But that was the point if you wanted to get into a top university. Midorima wanted to get into the best school possible, so he could go to the best medical school, and become the best doctor. This would all be worth it in the end.
“I still can’t believe some first year is in cram school with us.”
He heard the chatter behind him, but pretended not to notice. It wasn’t the first time that particular group of seniors was commenting on his presence. Like he was taking up a seat and not doing better than them.
“Relax. What difference is it to you if they’re here? If he wants to spend his weekday evenings bettering himself, instead of killing braincells like you did, then I say more power to him.”
Midorima recognized the second voice. A pretty senior from another school than Shūtoku, and also very good at the course work. Particularly fine literature.
There was some noise of a light scuffle and snickering before the first voice spoke again. “Geez. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you had a crush on the kid.”
“Well, you know, green is my favorite color.” Midorima felt his whole face heat up, and was concerned he might fog his glasses as he hyper focused on writing. “Too bad he’s so young.”
The sound of a loud snap echoed across the room as his pencil snapped in half between his fingers. His lucky pencil. That was a sign.
He picked his stuff up and decided to skip the second portion of class. He had time to work on getting into the best school, to go to the best med school, to become the best doctor. Right now, he felt like he had a lot of growing up to do.
Murasakibara
He was going to his new favorite nap spot on the roof.
Since talking to Mine-chin again after so long, the other basketball star told him the best places to take naps around school without being notices, and Murasakibara had been eternally grateful.
He had shuffled his way up the roof top stairs when he heard some voice behind him. Echoing up from the hallway into the stairwell corridor like it was meant for him.
“Don’t tell me you like that Murasakibara guy?!”
“I didn’t say that!” [Y/N] squawked back. A senior he knew from his remedial maths class where senpais would tutor juniors to help them get ahead. It was a program for athletes in particular to help them stay on the team. “I just said he’s a nice guy. Once you get to know him.”
“I get it. I mean, he’s really tall. I wouldn’t mind climbing him like a tree.” Another girl commented with a lecherous snicker.
“Don’t be gross!” [Y/N] snapped back. Swatting at them. “He’s just a freshman. He’s too young to be doing stuff like that!”
Murasakibara frowned in the shadows. Though he had never thought about it, it still sucked to just be counted out because he was young. Because of his size it rarely happened, as everyone always assumed he was older. Especially to hear it from [Y/N] really sucked.
The tall center pouted as he trudged the rest of the way up to his nap spot. Thinking about how he didn’t want to be climbed on like a tree. But if it was [Y/N] it wouldn’t be so bad.

SUBMISSION: How about a nasty sweaty incel shiggy waiting everyday for his dad to go to work so that he could have his relief with stepmom?
Tumblr media
Excellent submission! Love that. Love that a lot! I find it only fair to warn you, however, that I won’t be doing mommy kink for it. Mommy kink is one of my squicks, and one of the very, very few I have. I’ll do the closest thing to it though: Daddy kink. Also I find the irony of him making his little stepmom call him daddy to be absolutely hilarious.
Also this one is a great concept and I love it but it’s going to have to be a multi-parter cause it got a little bit long. Lemme know if you like the concept and I’ll continue it. Also this posted under anonymous for some reason so cheers to tumblr and its endless fucking glitches that it never fixes or seems to make any better.
Warnings: Noncon, dubcon, sexism, really gross incel behavior, nsfl things, masturbation, violent sexual fantasies, nefarious planning, horrible suggestions from even more horrible friends, absolute LOATHING of family, and entitled bastard.

There is only one thing on this planet that Tomura hates more than his father.
Only one thing can even compare to the level of abject disgust he has for his dad. Everything about the man is abhorrent and degenerate, only tolerated because Tomura is, admittedly, a NEET, and had no where else to go after graduation. But if anything- anything- could hold a candle, it would be his taste in women.
All women are trashy on some level, but his dad really manages to find ones that pretend so hard that they aren’t. Vipers behind the veneer of smiling faces clad in red lipstick and smart skirts. Always “kind”, always “thoughtful”, and always fleeting. Fickle, stupid bimbos charmed by his dads surface level charisma to quickly realize just how shallow the pool became.
Even his own mom was like that: She fucked off once she realized staying with him meant staying with his dad, and that was a sacrifice she wasn’t willing to make. So she left him to rot in this cesspit with his worthless father and no other way out.
He figures he can’t hold it against her, not as much as he’d like. A few weeks with his shriveled up paternal figure and most women quickly figure out they can do so much better. It’s in their nature to seek out the best, and that certainly isn’t Kotaro; A bumbling idiot with nothing to offer on the best of days. They don’t know any better, so they never last long after being brought home to meet his son, and those are the ones that even make it that far.
So when he starts yammering on about meeting yet another skank and how ‘in love’ he already is, Tomura’s eyes roll so far back in his head that he swears his retinas will detach. He makes a point to be around as little as possible, but somehow still manages to catch an earful about his latest fling and how excited he is for Tomura to meet her.
Great.
True to his word, Kotaro brings you home one evening, eager to impress his son with his latest catch.
His father had a lot of nerve dragging him from his room to meet you- his latest glorified slut. Adding insult to injury, you had the unmitigated gall to talk down to him like you were an adult and he wasn’t. Even though you had to crane your neck to look up and greet him, you still talked at him like he was some child. So different from you even though you were so much smaller than he was- barely even a few years older than he is, if even that.
So polite, introducing yourself and gently shaking his reluctant hand, making a point to smile at him and telling him how happy were to finally meet him and that you’d heard so much about him. Your hands were so soft, so little in comparison to his own. He dwarfs his pathetic father, practically towers over you, yet you still talk to him like you’re the adult in the equation.
So young, so pretty, though. Far better than anything his father had a right to pull. They weren’t exactly swimming in cash, the house was nothing in particular to gloat about, and he’d done enough eavesdropping around late at night to know his father suffered a particular… ailment, so it certainly wasn’t sexual satisfaction keeping you around. What was it then?
Probably nothing. You’d probably run off in a few weeks like they all do.
Kotaro is a worthless sack of drooping skin and aging bones; A ghost of a man not worthy of the phantoms he’s seen pass in his years. No longer the dominant male even in his own home: not with a stronger, more virile son coming into his prime under the roof as well. A beta male at best, withering away while his own son eclipses him in strength and intellect and physique. Tomura is in his mid twenties and blooming- His father… who even knows. He doesn’t care- he doesn’t bother to keep track.
So, maybe you really are just a dumb little whore. It would make sense. Father dearest always had been a dirty old man; A raging pervert with wandering hands and lingering eyes. Always sets his predatory sights on some cute thing too good for him.
Then again, the poisoned apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, now does it?
You’re cute enough you could have gotten some alpha at your beck and call, yet you’ve attached yourself to his worthless father who, in turn, parades you around like his most beloved trophy. Taking you to dinners he can’t afford despite your ‘insistence’ that you be allowed to pay, buying you things you claim you don’t need. Oh, how the moron dotes on his whores as if it’s enough to keep them anchored to him.
Strangely though, you don’t run off.
If anything, you sink your claws in even further, getting more and more comfortable and showing up more and more. Every time Tomura leaves his fucking room- which isn’t often- you’re there around the corner, smiling dumb and pretty and greeting him politely.
Fuck, he hates you. Hates your stupid voice, your shitty dresses, hates hearing his father happy for once.
It’s no surprise- but unwelcome no less- that he’d move you in sooner rather than later. Terrified to let you out of his sight for even a second lest you come to what little senses you have in your tiny brain and dump him. Of course, he’s quick to take on all of your burdens as his own, even if it means working overtime to support you. He’s always wanted another little housewife, and now he’s so close.
Tomura listens in on the whole conversation feeling sick to his gut.
You beg him not to- offering to pay your own way just like a good girl, but of course his dumbass dad will hear none of it. He’s more than happy to spend a couple of extra hours at work. His dad is so idiotic, so fucking blind. He’s playing right into it. He’s willing to be your workhorse if it means keeping you all to himself.
He’ll hear none of it. None of the fussing or the questions. You’re welcome in his home, he wants you there. It’s no imposition at all, he knows the house will be better with you around.
Except he forgets one crucial detail-
The son he leaves home alone with you every single day when he leaves.
You’re nothing but a nuisance, something infringing on his private space. The time he used to get home alone to spend to his own devices is now split with you flittering around the house doing whatever it is bimbos like you do. Cleaning, cooking, pretending to read, whatever. He doesn’t have to see you if he doesn’t want, sure, but he still knows you’re there and that’s more than enough to annoy him.
It’s almost like you catch on to his animosity after a while. The way he won’t greet you back, the way he utterly ignores your existence. It bugs you, and as far as he’s concerned, good.
You try to slip him up, try to get close to him and make him like you. You always set a place for him at the table even after Kotaro repeatedly insists- truthfully- that he’ll never join for dinner. Even then, you always bring the plate to his door. He never bothers to answer- not after the first few times when he only opened it a sliver to see your stupid smiling face. After that, he didn’t bother answering. He’ll eat it of course- won’t pass up free food he doesn’t have to leave his room for- and then leave the dirty dish back outside where you left it. You brought it, after all. You can clean it up.
All your efforts only get you mocked, and boy do you try so hard to get his affection. He even overhears you whining to his dad once or twice, not understanding why he doesn’t like you.
It makes him smile.
His friends- online of course, but still friends or comrades or kindred spirits or whatever- have more opportunistic ideas about it. His first post to the forum complaining about the new living situation was met with envy and awe- not necessarily the response he was expecting, though looking back on it, he supposes they were right.
lmpwrst: Why u bitchin’? Ur living with a girl ur not related to and that’s closer than any of us have gotten u ungrateful ass
KingKockRool: Go jerk off on her pillow.
Stacystabber91: take a video hold her down and fuck her then idiot
KingKockRool: No wait till she’s sleeping and jerk it on her face
st8lker: Bet she’s ugly tho if she’s dating your dad lol
Oddly enough, he doesn’t agree. That’s one thing he understands about you, loathe as he is to admit it. His new ‘stepmom’, for all her annoyances, is pretty easy on the eyes. The kinda girl that would have caught his eye in an unrelated situation and earned a permanent spot in his spank bank. Thinking about it, the whole ‘dating his dad’ situation maybe threw off his judgement more than he realized.
He’ll let the jury decide: He finds a photo on your social media, crops everyone else out of it, and hits enter. Easy peasy. He saves it to his hard drive for later too. Might as well.
‘Here, you decide then.’
Thus the shitstorm begins.
st8lker: Oh fuckkk fuck me mommy lmao
lmpwrst: Opportunity is wasted on u
Stacystabber91: you pussy punk bitch, i stand by what I said earlier. dont be a bitch and fuck the little cunt already
VolceliSwear: Whos the bitch
lmpwrst: Scratchy’s new stepmommy lol
VolceliSwear: Nice. Hit it yet?
Stacystabber91: he hasn’t cause he’s a gigantic fuckin pussy like i told you all
VolceliSwear: Come on dude you actually have that gash sleeping in your house and you haven’t made a move?
Stacystabber91: it’s not like she could say no cause you’re a big lanky bastard aren’t you? that’s one thing we got over the shortcels and you’re bigger and stronger than her so take what’s yours idiot or I will
lmpwrst: I agree with SS lol U complain all the time about not having a hole to fuck and now u do
VolceliSwear: ^^ Isn’t your dad a limp-dicked prick who can’t get it up? Someone’s gotta do it so it might as well be you. Hit the bitch so hard and fast she doesn’t know what way is up
Stacystabber91: and send pics moron I want to see tits or I’m coming over there to do it myself
It’s an… intriguing thought. To be honest, he’s never actually considered fucking you before. Had the passive thought like he does with most girls he sees, but never stopped to think on actually doing it. For some reason, there was a mental wall between him and his father’s girlfriends. But why should there be?
Depraved little bastard that he is, he’s not above cornering a girl and forcing himself on her but he’s not keen on going to jail, so he’s never escalated past creepy photos and following the occasional broad a little too closely. Maybe a couple gropes in passing… okay, maybe a lot. But he’s never gotten caught- maybe the girls don’t report it or just couldn’t find him afterward. Either way, it’s all worked out so far because he doesn’t cross certain boundaries.
Most girls are repulsed by him and his repugnant behavior, so they stay far, far away. It’s like he’s a giant blaring warning sign that they tend to heed instinctively.
But you don’t.
This is different. You live here, so close to him, so within reach. Just how close you are. How easy it would be for him to force you down and make you take it. Just how much time alone he really has with you since his father leaves and returns like clockwork. He’s got the entire day once his father leaves for work. And all night once he takes his sleeping medication. An easy, pretty little catch already wiggling in his web.
 ‘Maybe I will.’
That’s how it starts.
Snowball into snowstorm.
With an idea and a lot of goading from his online buddies, a monster is born and weaned on his own depravity and escalates into something very real, and very dangerous.
Tomura is achingly familiar with the scene- he’s seen enough porn to give him ample ideas. But he’s got all the time in the world. It’s hard not to rush things considering how eager he is, but it’s safer to test the waters first. Get you nice and scared so you’ll keep your pretty mouth shut unless he tells you to open it for him. See how far he can get, how much he can toy with you before you finally catch on.
Who knows? Maybe you’ll fuck him willingly. You are a stupid little slut, after all. Most of you females are deep down beneath that holier-than-thou, stuck up bitchiness you hide behind.
So he starts with a time honored tradition. He steals your panties.
The bathroom is cluttered with your shit. Your fruity shampoos and conditioners, your makeup, your perfumes. Tomura has a toothbrush and a comb he doesn’t use, a bottle of 3-1 for when he forces himself into a shower, and a singular gray towel, but the rest is between you and his father. Your body washes, your scrubs, your clothes in the hamper.
It’s easy enough to fish out a fresh pair- only a couple of hours old. Some lacy contraption you must’ve been wearing beneath your clothes and carelessly left in the bin when you showered. It’s easy to pocket them before you hear him rummaging around, and maybe you’ll miss them, but that’s not his problem. Washer eats things all the time, doesn’t it?
He’s hidden back in his room, safely dodging you before he allows himself to indulge- Bringing them to his nose and inhaling the doubled fabric of the crotch so hard that it catches on the edge of his nostrils.
Fuck, your cunt smell good- tangy and sweet but the tiniest hint of bitter. A couple of whiffs is enough to get his cock twitching, inflating into a painful hardness as he hears you walking around outside in the hallway. Shit, you’re so fuckin’ airheaded, walking around so oblivious as he tongues at the cloth that was nestled right up against your pussy until a few hours ago. He can taste you, sucking your left over essence through his teeth and he swears he’s going to cream all over the inside of his jeans if he doesn’t jerk off right now.
He’s quick to drop his sweats and sprawl on his bed, thumbing the tip of his prick and licking gratuitous stripes up the slim of your discarded panties with his tongue. You’d look so good sucking his cock; On your bruised knees, face a slathered mess of cum and saliva and running makeup. Bulge in your throat from taking him so deep and trying so hard to please him like you always do- or maybe avoid a painful punishment because he isn’t above using his hands on you and you learned that the hard way.
The thought of your ruddy, soppy face makes him throb- fucking your wet little throat until you’re suffocating, pulling out to let you breathe only to cum on your face. Yanking you up to bend you over the stove and force you to make his worthless father’s dinner with his spend tacking across your face and his cock lodged deep in your cunt. Worthless fucking sack of shit that his father is, he’d spit in it too and make you serve it to him with a smile while your actual daddy watches you do it and rewards you later with his dick fucking you between your tits.
Fuck yes, that’s what he’ll make you do. He’ll make you call him daddy when he creampies you- the opportunity is too perfect to pass. He’ll fuck his father’s pretty whore as she screams and moans for daddy’s cock while his father is away at work to pay all her frivolous bills like the beta-cuck he is. None of the work and all of the reward- as it should be.
It’s not like Kotaro can fuck you, and his friends are right. Someone should. So why not him? Why not spread your legs for your boyfriend’s younger, more powerful son? Oh, sorry, did he give you the illusion that you had a choice? He’ll take what is rightfully his and there’s not a fucking thing you or his pathetic fucking father can ever do about it.
He plucks your panties from his face, moving them instead to work over his cock. It would feel so much better if you were wearing them- grinding your sweet little cunt against his dick, begging him not to fuck you but getting so wet all the same. The silky fabric feels so good against his hypersensitive skin, coupled with the clenched pumping of his fist as he daydreams about railing you into his filthy mattress until you’re too weak to even move on your own, his cum dripping from every one of your used holes. Limp, useless little whore too fucked out to even fight him as he fucks her in the ass again-
Fantasies swirl in his head, flashes of scenarios that tease him and work him into a frenzy. He’s going to cum hard to the thought filling you, your agonized face as the tip of him knocks against the opening of your womb, buried so deep in your cute pussy that he can feel the wall that keeps him firmly locked out of your guts. So close, so tight, so warm. He’s going to pump you full to the brim like the skank you are, fill you nice and thick full of his seed and then use you again and again and again-
He feels it in his spine, waves of pleasure furling at the base and congealing together impossibly tight, so ready to burst. His thighs flex, muscles in his stomach tightening and breath staggering. Searing white behind dry, clenched eyes and his cock twitches in his palm, knot bursting deep between his legs as his hand stills momentarily. His hands twitch, cock throbbing as thick ropes of cum spill over the slats of his fingers, splattering his stomach and the waist of his sweatpants and all over your adorable little panties.
“Shit-”
Shallow, shaky breaths, still seeing stars popping behind his eyelids. Fuck, he hasn’t cum that hard in- well, a very long time. Is it the thought of having something tangible soon? His very own cunt to abuse? Grinning, he looks down at the absolutely drenched pair in his hand, sticky with fresh seed.
He thinks so.
Instinctively, he wipes the excess off his fingers and onto his dirty, rumpled black sheets, swiping across his shirt and his skin. Just another ‘mystery spot’ among the rest, soon to become a crusty, flaked white stain on the fabric among all the preexisting ones.
With some effort on his part, he sits up, still trying to catch his breath. He thought post orgasm clarity might deter him from this path, but if anything, he’s even more determined now. Why should he sit and touch himself in a dark room when there’s a perfectly good set of holes to fuck wandering around freely outside?
Oh yeah, this should work out just fine.
There’s a knock on the door while he’s still wading through his gross thoughts, softly at first but then slightly more insistent. It jolts him alert, irritating him that he’s being bothered when he’s scheming. He’s already finished the dirty dead, all ready to put himself away for now but it’s still jarring none the less when someone comes around so closely to him wanking. A quick dash at the clock tells him it’s not dinner time yet, so what gives? Why are you bothering him now? Nothing is ready yet.
He tucks himself away and quickly buries your soiled underwear in the pocket of his sweats. Quickly wiping any remnants on the knees of his pants before swinging his door open, agitation palpable as he greets your stupid, sunny face.
Speak of the she-devil.
“Hi, Tomura! Just wondering if you have any laundry or anything you want me to take!” “N-”  He’s about to slam the door. About to. But you know what? You want his laundry? Sure. He’s got some for you.  “Yeah- yeah, sure.”
He steps back from behind the door, letting it creak open a little as he rips off his freshly re-soiled sheets.
“Oh, good! Yeah, I’m throwing in my own so I’ll take your load too-“
Yeah you will.
Balling it up, he chucks it at you as you curiously peek your head in. You’ve never seen the inside of his room, but soon you’ll see plenty. He doesn’t know if you can feel the fresh cum on the sheets, but he’s willing to bet you can probably smell it. To your credit, you barely falter, even with the sheet cradled in your bare arms.
You’re probably having a moment of “understanding.” ‘He’s a young man with no girlfriend and no other outlet. Of course he’s going to wack off’ and all that. It’s cute, the way you pretend not to notice. That’s okay, he’ll give you something you can’t ignore.
He steps up to the door again, yanking his black shirt over his head and dropping it in your arms with a shit eating grin.
“Oh- okay, yeah-“
Your sentence halts completely as he starts to strip off his pants and you’re left staring in slight horror as your stepson strips down to his boxers in front of you before placing his sweats on the top of the pile you’re carrying- right by your face.
“I’ve got some more dirty boxers if you think you can handle anymore.” He’s grinning like a fiend, reveling in your poorly concealed discomfort as he leans against the doorframe, swinging out towards you. You’re backing away from him, desperately trying to keep your eyes up and away from his very exposed body, and especially the half hard cock tenting the front of his boxers. Your face is turning a viciously dark shade, stifling your breathing because he just knows what you’re refusing to see, you can almost certainly smell.
“Um- nope! This should be a full one! I’ll get them back to you soon!”
“Oh, take your time. No rush.”
You scurry off down the hall much quicker than your usual casual walk, probably to scrub your arms clean with iron wool. Poor little thing, just trying to be nice and this is what it gets you.
He cackles something fierce as he shuts his door again, going to look for your ruined panties to post a pic but remembering they’re still in the pocket of his sweatpants, covered in his cum and saliva. A fun little surprise for you to find when you go through pockets to ensure nothing gets stuck in the washer.
And he notices, in the coming days, you stop leaving your clothes in the hamper- or even being able to meet his eyes.
Oh, this should be fun.

(Y/N) was nowhere to be found.
It wasn't Tsukishima's habit to eavesdrop on other people's conversation, but he couldn't help but listen when he heard her name from her classmates. She was a consistent top student that will never neglect her studies, so it was unusual to know that she was absent today. He thought that maybe she got sick or she decided to go crazy and skip school. If it was the latter, he hoped that she knows what she's doing, because midterms are coming in 3 days, and he's not going to listen to her whines and begs to help her study for the tests.
And now he just happened to overhear that she was missing.
He saw her parents walk out of the campus after talking to the vice-principal and to the teachers. Gossip filled the corridors and rooms. Tsukishima went back to his room, clearly annoyed with the unnecessary noise.
He listened to the lectures of each subject and continued to write down important points, but the thought of (Y/N) lingered in his head. What could've happened that led to her disappearance? Was she kidnapped? No, he just walked her home last night and she'll never leave her place past midnight. Kidnappers won't dare to make a move in daylight because of the town's high authority visibility. There's no way she'll be lost in an area she's very familiar with.
She ran away from home. That is the only logical possibility he could come up with, but he couldn't think of an idea as to why. (Y/N), who loves to be cooped up in her room with music blaring in her earphones while drawing, left her home without a trace. Tsukishima was a little worried, but he won't let his face show whatever the hell he's feeling.
His plays and blocks aren't exactly bad, but Yamaguchi could sense that Tsukishima was thinking of something other than the volleyball practice. He approached his friend who was resting on the floor, his long arms covering his curled up legs.
"Tsukki, what's with that expression? Did you get a failing score in a quiz?" Yamaguchi started, in an attempt to lighten up the atmosphere.
The blonde's eyes darted to him, "Like hell, I'm going to let that happen. What do you want?"
He shrugged, "Nothing, I just noticed that you were a little quieter and more passive today. Normally, you would've chewed the first years out with their simple blocking errors, but you didn't say a thing. You're scarier in their eyes when you're silent."
"I was tired. I'll only waste my voice pointing out something I did a million times." A sigh escaped his lips
"Right..." Yamaguchi paused, "So, I assume you have heard?"
"Heard of what?"
"That (Y/N) is missing."
"Oh," A frown fell on his features. It wasn't his usual frown. People who really know him would notice that his eyes are full of worry.
He sat beside Tsukishima before he spoke again. "I know you have ideas on places (Y/N) could've gone to."
"I do not know what you're talking about."
The latter chuckled, "Oh, humor me, Tsukki. If you're that worried, I can excuse you for today's practice. No problem."
"Does that mean that you aren't concerned?"
"I am concerned. I want to look for her as well, but I have to whip the other players into shape. I'm sorry if I couldn't accompany you right away."
Tsukishima stood up and sighed again, "You will excuse me, you said?"
"Yeah."
There were silence and the background noise of balls and shoes colliding on the floor. He wiped the sweat off his face before replying, "I'll be leaving the gym in a few minutes."
He changed his clothes and packed his things up, causing the team to exchange glances.
"Tsukki!" Yamaguchi called, throwing his friend's large jacket to him, which the other caught. "Take care! I hope you find (Y/N) and get her home safe."
"I wish. Then, I'll leave it to you, Captain."
The green-haired middle blocker's eyes teared up and sparkled as he beamed a smile back, "I got it!"
Tsukishima started to look for (Y/N) at the places she liked to go to; the art store, the Central Park, the kid's playground, the museum, and the prefectural library. But there was no sign of her anywhere. He looked at the nearby places to no avail. He walked on while dialing her number, but her phone is out of coverage area. He spent 3 more hours finding the girl and soon received a message from Yamaguchi, telling him that (Y/N) hasn't been found yet and that he joined the authorities to help them find her.
He walked back to the direction of his home, panting softly. He had failed to find (Y/N), yet his brain won't stop thinking about her possible whereabouts. The cool breeze of winter hit Tsukishima's face and shivered at the contact. He had hoped again that she is inside of an establishment, safe from such cold weather.
Tsukishima's home has its lights out. Her mother was invited into her colleagues' reunion as said in her text, and both his father and brother are busy at work. He reached for his key in his pocket and was opening the door, not until he heard a loud sob from somewhere. Tsukishima looked around the place as the sobbing continued. He searched for the source and ended up in their backyard. He caught the sight of a small figure behind the bushes and went closer to confirm.
It was a cat. It had scurried away once he got close to it. Oh, how stupid he is to get his hopes up only to find a scared animal. But he was certain he heard a sob somewhere near. And cats aren't capable of making a sound like that. Or maybe he was only hearing things?
He dragged his feet to the main door to unlock it, but this time, there was a loud noise of scrubbing on the roof. What is it this time? He moved back and looked upon where it came from.
To his surprise, it wasn't another cat but a person. Their legs were curled up, arms covered around them, with their chin on their knees. Tsukishima turned on his phone's flashlight and there she was.
It was (Y/N). Her shoulders shook, either from the cold or trying her best not to cry out loud.
"H-Help me."
He stared at the girl, confused and fighting back laughter because of how scared (Y/N) looked. "How the heck did you get in there?"
"I climbed that tree and jumped off to break in and hide in your room. Turned out that the windows are locked. I don't know how to jump back and I-I was too high from the ground. You know I'm scared of heights! Why did you lock the window?! Stupid!"
"Of course, I would lock the window for the security. And wow, aren't you the stupid one for knowing how to climb and jump up to my window and not knowing how to get down? Why did you climb if you are scared of heights? Such an idiot."
"Fine, fine. I am an idiot. Now, can you help me get off this roof?"
He crossed his arms and smirked, "No."
"Ugh! Please, Kei. I've been trapped here for hours. I am begging you to help me get down. Please?"
He sighed in defeat and raised his arms. "Here. Jump."
For seconds, (Y/N) didn't respond as she was having second thoughts about jumping.
"What? Do you expect me to get a ladder? I'm sorry, but it's in the basement, broken." He said in a mocking tone. "Don't you want to come down?"
"Can you catch me properly? Are your arms stable? Won't you fall on your ass?" (Y/N) interrogated.
Tsukishima rolled his eyes, "Alright, stay there and freeze to death."
"No, wait! I was just asking! Come back! Don't leave meeee!"
The blonde looked up to her and raised his arms again, "Don't think. Trust me, I will catch you properly and you won't crash to the ground. You weigh like nothing anyway."
"Are you talking about yourself?" She retorted, pertaining to his weight.
"Can you please just jump?"
(Y/N) inhaled and went to the edge of the roof. It was a scary view for her, just looking down makes her dizzy, and want to throw up.  She thought he would have the largest frown on his face because of how irritatingly slow she was, but there was Tsukishima waiting for her with the calmest expression. She smiled a little.
"Here I go..."
She took off, closing her eyes, and swallowing her fears. The gravity pulled her feet down shortly after, and Tsukishima readied himself for the impact as he reached her waist. He held on to her lower torso while (Y/N) placed her arms around his shoulders tightly and legs on his waist. The athlete's balance slightly went off, so he took a step back to support both their weights. It was now steady.
"I'm surprised you didn't lose your balance. Where's the weak boned beanpole 3 years ago?"
"I did for a second."
"Doesn't matter. You caught me. Thank you."
They had stayed in that way for a moment until Tsukishima spoke, "Do you plan to get off?"
"No. I'm tired."
"I am too." Yet she refused to let go.
He exhaled, carrying (Y/N) to the main entrance and finally unlocking the door. Her hoodie was cold and some parts are wet, but it didn't rain on that day. He took her in and placed her on the couch. Tsukishima went to his room, changed clothes, and brought a spare sweatshirt, handkerchief, and a towel. He went down but didn't find (Y/N) where he left her, so he walked to the kitchen counter and found the girl on the corner, shivering like a pup.
He tossed the clothing at her without further words. There was a note from her mom beside the curry in the table, saying she had eaten and she left rolls in the refrigerator. He was about to turn on the stove to reheat the food his mother left, but his eyes landed on (Y/N) who sat quietly, hugging the sweatshirt instead of wearing it. Her hair was disheveled, the sleeves and neck part of her hoodie was damp, her nose was red and her puffy, bloodshot eyes implied that she has been crying for who knows how long. He set the pan down to get her a glass of water.
"Everyone was looking for you." Said Tsukishima.
"No one was really looking for me." (Y/N) replied, clearing her nose.
"I didn't spend the last 3 hours tiring myself to scan the whole town for no reason." He sat beside her, handing the glass. "Care to spill the tea?"
(Y/N) drank first before speaking weakly, "I hate them. So much."
The male remained quiet, waiting for her to continue her dilemma.
"Remember when I told you and the class that I will be the most successful doctor in Japan after I finished my studies? It was a lie. It wasn't my dream to stay in a hospital and treat ill people, I only wanted to draw and paint. I didn't care if it never made them or anyone happy, I am happy doing it. And they are taking it away from me."
He knew from the start that her dream job as a doctor wasn't true. For years she stayed close to him as a friend or more, she won't blabber anything of the medical topic. She was terrified of syringes. He saw her reading an article about surgeries and like, but her focus was easily taken away.
She will get a pencil then start scribbling and drawing. Something that Tsukishima always sees her doing whenever she has a pen and paper, but she insists that it was a mere hobby. Her notebooks are well designed and organized, but the back is always full of artistic doodles instead of algebra solutions. She only has very few art materials yet she can make a portrait with only her fingers to shade. She makes digital art without a stylus. She would drag him to the museum after class to view some western and eastern paintings or any work of art while he admires the dinosaur fossils. For times she's watching an art tutorial and talk about art, draw and paint, she has those stupid sparkles in her eyes and a huge smile on her face.
"You know Tsukishima, after I finish studying and became a doctor, I'll become an artist and if the time let's it, I'll open my own art gallery. That's my ultimate dream." She looked alive and delighted.
Very much the opposite of what she looks like right now.
Even though she was a slave of art, as Tsukishima was a slave of his own interests, (Y/N) prioritized her studies so much. He understood why when he went to her house and met her parents before their study sessions. He had noticed everything but chose to stay quiet.
"I-I was drawing last night. Dad entered my room but I didn't notice so he ripped the music away from my ears and yelled. He said that I would always lock myself in my room and draw every night. It was never-ending and irritates the shit out of him. He asked why would I do something so useless that isn't even connected to any academic subject. He was looking down on my art like he was looking at a piece of crap. He told me to stop and threatened me if I didn't. Why would I get punished for drawing? I couldn't get myself to stay silent so I retorted. If he doesn't want to see me drawing, then he shouldn't enter my room at all. He should stop meddling with my hobbies. His anger only went up."
(Y/N) stopped for a while to wipe her tears and snot with her sleeves but Tsukishima placed a handkerchief on her hands. She muttered her thanks and blew her nose and soon followed with a sneeze.
"Soon, it became a full-blown argument. He said that he was checking out if I was doing my projects, but oh he was so disappointed only to find his daughter drawing for nothing. What the heck? I gave them the best grades I could get, and part of it was because of you, Tsukishima, but they still aren't satisfied? I balanced drawing and academics, but they made it seem that all I was doing was my hobby, completely ignoring my efforts at school. I finished the school activities and I reviewed for midterms and all I want is to be left alone and draw. What, they want me to go crazy by studying every hour with things I won't even apply in real life?"
Her fake laughter echoed in the kitchen for seconds before her depressed tone took over again.
"Mom heard all the shouting and joined the argument. Of course, she sided with dad without listening to my feelings and there they ridiculed their youngest child's interests and talent. They told me that everything I do is bullshit and wrong, that I was useless, that I was the huge opposite of their expectations, and... and how come God gave them a joke. She said they raised me so that I could help them, not to do such useless things. It hurts to shout back but I did to explain why I'm so passionate about art in hopes that they will listen and understand but, I was so wrong. I was suddenly slapped..." She placed her hand to her left cheek, her lips quivered a little.
"I-It stung so much. Mom complained about how the Internet generation is so rebellious and won't listen to the elders. They didn't raise and teach me to talk back at them, but here is their child being a bitch. They started comparing me to my elder siblings or relatives who focused on their studies and who are at the door of success. I know they only want me to achieve the best, but my success isn't up to them! It's on me!! And I've invested a lot for that! They shouted at me as mom pulled my hair. It was so loud I thought I was going deaf. Dad blamed the gadget's influence and my drawings. I have only drawn decent fanarts of fictional characters, people, and sceneries, but they believed that because of these, I turned into a mannerless bastard. So mom decided to get my phone and lessen my allowance so that I wouldn't buy any art materials that are a waste of fortune--"
She bit her lower lip that is trembling uncontrollably and her eyesight blurred as her fat tears got in the way.
"and... D-Dad... he... he... he tore m-my sketch pad apart..."
Tsukishima's eyes widened. (Y/N) brought that thing with her almost everywhere she went and it was filled with good drawings and art plans. She has a lot of them though, but Tsukishima could only imagine how she felt when her efforts were trampled over by someone important to her.
(Y/N) broke down, bawled her eyes out, and shrieked hysterically. He looked at her with a heavy heart. He had seen her crying sometimes, be it because of a sad movie or empathy, but never like this. A depressed, emotional wreck. Her eyes were sore enough after a lot of hours, but she won't stop crying. It was heartbreaking to see and hear his significant other in this state, yet Tsukishima didn't know what is the right thing to say.
But maybe there was no need to say anything at all.
Kei wrapped his arms around her weeping figure and pulled her towards him. Cry it out, pipsqueak. (Y/N) didn't expect this action, nonetheless cried in his shoulder He didn't care anymore if this meant he gets his clothes drenched in her snot and tears as long as she felt a little less lonely. He rubbed her back and hair in an attempt to comfort his lover. (Y/N)'s airways hurt, but she screamed the pain out, in hopes that the pain in her heart would vanish. Her weeping went on for long minutes until she choked in her own sobs that Tsukishima had to get her another glass of water.
"Tell me, Kei." She began, wiping her eyes, "Is there... something wrong with me? Is my dream really that insignificant?"
"There's nothing wrong with you. You followed your ideals. Anyone including me would've done the same." He answered beside her.
"I-It's realistic, right?"
"It is."
"Then... why did it turn out like this?" Her voice was cracking.
Tsukishima looked down, "The society is just very cruel."
"Yeah. It sure is. Such a cruel society to live with."
(Y/N) let out a dejected sigh and leaned on Tsukki's shoulder. "I couldn't look at them without such overwhelming fear and hate anymore. I wonder if... they knew that I was doing this for them. I'd like to make them smile with something I've made myself. Once, I made each of them a portrait. A realistic one made from a pencil. I couldn't afford a material set that can be used to paint realistically, but I tried my best to impress them with a charcoal one. Oh, if only you saw their faces when I gave them the portraits. They returned a half-hearted smile. It wasn't the same kind of joy I see whenever I give them perfect scores on tests. I didn't spend 3 sleepless nights just to see their half happy, half unpleased reaction. I wish they could feel more proud of their daughter who worked hard for them... I wonder if they threw it away as he did on my sketch pad..."
They let silence engulf the atmosphere for a while. (Y/N) had calmed down a little, despite shedding smaller tears from the side of her eyes. Tsukishima held the sweatshirt he gave her earlier to make her wear it on the top of her hoodie to lessen her shivering. He stared at her, while the other gazed down on the floor with dead eyes.
Tsukishima asked, "So, what are you going to do now?"
"What am I going to do now huh..." (Y/N) repeated. "I'll probably... put everything to an end."
"You know I won't let you."
"I'm not talking about my life, silly. I might stop drawing and all. I've lost it."
"Isn't your life and drawing one and the same? And I'm pretty sure you have that immense talent to continue."
"No... Besides, talent isn't a talent if it doesn't make anyone happy."
The blonde mentally scoffed. She just said that it makes her happy in the beginning.
"Oh? Fine, stop doing that one thing you put everything into. What would that girl you received a commission from would feel if she were to hear you though?"
(Y/N) was stunned. She had completely forgotten about the whole commission thing she opened in her social media accounts. Tsukishima accompanied (Y/N) on giving the commissioned charcoal portrait to a girl last 3 weeks ago. It was (Y/N)'s first commission for years she's making art. Someone liked her work for the first time and paid for it, and her client looks very contented and glad. The words she said filled her thoughts with inspiration.
"Wow, this is awesome! I'm so happy!! Thank you for making this, it was exactly what I've pictured on my mind! You're amazing! All the excitement I've bottled up for this day is so worth it," The girl, probably a little older than them paused and admired the painting she received from (Y/N).
"Would you ignore those words she said?"
'Please don't stop drawing, I'll be looking forward to your future works!'
A pang of guilt hit her chest. She wants to pursue art, but there are these shackles and chains on her limbs and around her neck that made it hard for her to move forward. She couldn't breathe. What happened yesterday night was too much. Her parents went overboard.
"B-But—"
A monotone voice interrupted her, "Don't. Never stop striving for something you have been building for years. You might be defeated now, but surely, you will win some time. There's no way you'll stay in the lowest level of the ladder after I saw how hard you worked. You will go to nationals again, and I will continue to support you. I'll cheer for you and stay by your side! So please, do not stop! Let me see those beautiful blocks that you execute in the game once more! And I will watch you reach the top! Doesn't matter how many times, I'll never get weary of watching you do amazing things!"
She was silenced by that statement. She had definitely heard those before, but couldn't quite remember where.
"Does the sentiment seem familiar to you? Those are the same words that came from your mouth when I was planning to quit volleyball after our huge loss to Date Tech last year. I am returning them back to you."
"Huh?" She replied with a meek voice.
"That time, you really did a good job meddling with my decisions. It annoyed me first, but what you had stated held a weight that I couldn't disregard. You gave me the small push I didn't know I needed. In the end, I'd like to pay you back." Tsukishima stated with a far away look in his eyes.
(Y/N) listened with watery eyes. This Tsukishima's side isn't definitely the one she gets to see every day so she couldn't feel anything but the warm, fuzzy feeling that is healing her heart.
"It's probably selfish for me to say this but, don't you dare give up. I didn't stop. No matter how long and hard the game is, no matter how tired and discouraged I get, and no matter how many pessimistic thoughts clouded my head, I didn't stop chasing after a falling ball and thinking of another tactic to counter the enemy. I kept your words with me in court. It was you who told me not to in the first place, and I'm not going to forgive you if you ever dropped everything. I won't let the stupid, starry-eyed (Y/N) die today."
The girl beside her started sobbing. "But you told me once that my drawing are ugly."
"Oh. That. I... kind of remember that. I'm not sorry about what I said because I did it to provoke and rile you up. It was a lie though. As someone who always sees you drawing, I can't call your work ugly at all. Your art is... astounding. You make it look like it's so easy to do. I think you forgot next sentence after I told you that."
"What was the sentence after?"
Tsukishima sighed, "I told you to keep doing it, right?"
The sound of (Y/N) crying engulfed the kitchen, "Oh gosh, why did I forget that... I'm sorry, I'm so idiotic..."
The blonde brought her back to his arms, "Will you stop crying, you've been too hard on yourself today,"
(Y/N) hid her face on his chest, muffling her speech, "c-couldn't help it... my mind is such a mess... I do not know..." She paused, coughing. "It's no use if m-my parents don't acknowledge me..."
"Hundreds, or perhaps thousands of people who follow you on social media account recognize you. People in school recognizes you. I recognize you. I am your ally. Isn't that enough reason for you to get back on your feet? I will support you just like how you supported me. You have a lot of people who admire you, but I only have a few people and you. Yet your words are enough. I'm certain that soon, you will reach your parents' standards and get them to acknowledge you. It's not impossible."
(Y/N) fixed her tear-stained face before looking up to him, "You know what? Who are you? Is a good spirit possessing your body? The Kei I know will either stay quiet or laugh at me for being pathetic."
"I was trying to be nice for once and this is what I get?" He frowned.
(Y/N) chuckled and hugged Tsukishima, "I'm sorry. Everything you said meant the world to me. Thank you very much."
She relaxed against his lean body, "I have a question though..."
"What?"
"You literally had no business in my art, it was my own problem. Why are you doing this?"
"Why don't you ask yourself after you argued with me that night? Why did you have to butt in with my choices?"
"Because you like volleyball! You might look like that someone stole your dinosaur collection when you're at practice, but you're good at it and have a future in it! It is a part of you, and you're deciding to throw it away? Your potential is too big to be wasted and I refuse to let that happen." Her voice is a little louder now, but hoarse.
"There's your answer, little gremlin."
"How is that— Oh."
"But I'd like to add something."
"What is it?"
"You look better doing what you really like. It makes you look less like a hag."
It was silent after that. (Y/N) punched his arm. Tsukishima didn't even wince but asked, "What was that for?"
"The last statement was unnecessary, and the first one is sweet yet cringey." She criticized.
"C'mon, I'm just a teenager. Aren't you the cringey one most of the times?"
She used the handkerchief to sniffle her runny nose away, "Why do you have a knack of returning everything I said to me?"
"I won't do it if it's not appropriate." Tsukishima placed his hands on her back and to her hair, "So, what are you going to do now, (Y/N)?"
"I'll think things through. My brain is still slightly messy, but I'll be fine, thanks to you. But Kei..."
He hummed as a response. "I don't want to go home. I want to run away."
"Not possible. You can't survive on your own. You're almost 18 and until now, you don't understand how a washing machine works with all your perfect scores in exams."
"This is just a thought. I didn't say I'll be alone. I'm taking you with me."
"I refuse."
"Why?"
"Couldn't you wait for more months until we graduate?"
(Y/N)'s eyebrows raised, "So basically, you're agreeing, but not this time?"
"No, but you'll be free of your parents' suffocating control. Who knows how huge is your potential by that time."
"How considerate of you." The girl smiled.
"Only this time. And no, we won't live in the same place in college. Not yet. Not until we finish our studies, have secured jobs, and get important things done."
"Will you be playing volleyball at college?"
He lazily replied, "Probably."
"Don't give me such an ambiguous answer!"
"Probably yes."
"Hmm. Fine by me. I'll continue to draw, then." (Y/N) rested her head near Tsukishima's neck.
He smiled a little at her answer, "Another thing though. I don't think... you should leave things with your parents like that. There'll be a time where you have to face it."
"Yes, that sucks... I don't want to think about it but I'll have to go back eventually... When that confrontation happens, I'll try to calmly talk it out with them. I will never be certain if it will end well. But my hate and fear of them won't change."
"You can always run back here if it didn't end well."
"Kei, don't want to see their faces just yet. Can I stay here for a while?"
"You even bother to ask. You are welcome anytime in this household. Just enter the house in the front door, not in my window."
"Right... thank you."
"Oh, now it's my turn to ask. How did you get in there?"
(Y/N) sighed, "It was on 4:30pm. I was on the loose and I looked for a store where anyone can't recognize me so I can eat for lunch. But there's this creep who kept on following me—"
"Did he hurt you?" He abruptly questioned.
"No. I ran as fast as I could before he could even get close to me, but in the next block, there were the town authorities with my mom, and I knew they were looking for me, so I blended into the people with my hoodie on and made my way. I climbed the tree in panic that they'll find me and hid there. It took me hours to notice that your house is just next to it, so I decided to climb to your window. However, the window was locked, and I was stuck."
Tsukishima sighed in relief. "It was a miracle that a klutz like you didn't fell off the tree and surprisingly, no one found you."
"I was high in adrenaline when I climbed the tree. My blending and hiding skills are in ninja-tier now, I beat you."
"Whatever. What did you have for breakfast?"
"...a melon bread."
"Just that?"
"Just that."
Tsukishima kissed her forehead before lifting her up with him. "Go change. Borrow any of my clothes. I'll reheat the food."
(Y/N) kissed his cheek, slowly got off him and went upstairs. Tsukishima opened his phone to text Yamaguchi about her situation and proceeded to reheat the spicy curry.
"Wait, Kei! Is it okay for me to eat?" She shouted from upstairs.
"What kind of question is that? Of course you can." He shouted back.
"Your mom left that for you, for your dad and for your brother. I'd feel bad."
"My brother and dad will come home late and I'm sure they've eaten already. So is mom."
"Are you sure? I can replace the food." She said while going down the stairs.
"Oh, you can cook? I'm afraid you'll burn the whole kitchen." He mocked.
"At least not the whole house." (Y/N) laughed, "Just kidding, I have a tiny knowledge in cooking."
"You don't have to, I told you they already ate. I'll bring out the sushi mom made if you still want to eat."
"Alright. Thank you for the food."
Few hours later, Tsukishima's mom came home and took off her shoes. "I'm home."
As she was about to enter the living room, Akiteru greeted her and placed his finger in front of his lips, indicating her to keep quiet. She wondered what was going on and saw her youngest son and his girlfriend leaning on his shoulder, asleep on the couch in front of the TV. He signaled her to read the note Kei left on the table.
To mom, dad, and brother,
Earlier in the morning, (Y/N) went missing and her parents and town authorities were looking for her. I found her on the way home, but it turns out that she ran away from her home because of an intense argument between her parents, and doesn't want to be found yet. Please let her stay here for a while. I'll do most of the household chores or any favor you ask me in return.
Mom, I shared the curry and sushi rolls with her. I left for some for dad and brother. (Y/N) said it was very delicious.
Love,
Kei.
She smiled after reading the note and looked at the sleeping kids. She took notice of (Y/N)'s eyes and quickly understood the situation. Before she left to rest in her room, she looked for a spare blanket and laid it atop them to keep them warm.
(Y/N) snuggled further to Tsukishima's arms, satisfied on how this night will end well, unlike yesterday's.

Why You Should Never Eavesdrop
AHHH it’s my first ever Naruto fic!! Don’t hate me if it sucks
Kakashi x female reader.
I will soon branch out to write for like Genma and Izumo but I had to make my first fic for Kakashi since he was my first ever crush ever XD. I’m going to write a part two because this is a terrible place to end it. I just got excited and wanted to post this now lol
Naruto Masterlist
Of course you went after him. You wanted to see if everything was okay, he was your friend after all and you cared about him. But when you got lost in the trees looking for him, this was the last thing you expected.
You were a Jonin, masking your chakra was second nature and something you always did, which is why you were able to quietly and accidentally sneak up underneath them. Kakashi with his student, Sauske, in the tree, “you’re a little late to the game” you froze, should you run? Should you speak up? You held your breath so they wouldn’t hear you as you debated what you should do. You didn’t mean to eavesdrop but part of you was glad you were when you heard the words that came out his mouth next “everyone I care about is already dead”
You disappear quick after that, realizing it wasn’t a conversation you should be listening to. Also realizing that he didn’t think you were as close of friends as you did. You know about his past, his history, you know about it all, but you thought, stupidly, as you now realize, that you could be someone to him. “Ridiculous” you nutter to yourself as you take to the trees, running through them as far as you could go, far away from Kakashi.
Far as possible without leaving this village, was to the trees by the gate, it was always nice here, the clouds easier to see because it’s where there was the tallest tree and you loved to sit at the very top. You were disappointed in yourself, you were a shinobi for crying out loud! you never got so invested in your feelings before. You will not let your feelings interfere with your life. You needed to think and this was where you came when you needed space.
Kakashi didn’t even come in to your life until recently, you got back from a mission that lasted a few years, protection of a political family, now you were home after so long and just when you thought you’d be given a little time off, the Hokage told you he wanted you to be a sensei to some new young Genin. That’s what brought Kakashi into your life.
You knew him growing up, had mutual friends in the academy, but you’ve never talked to him directly. Until after one especially long day with your rowdy eleven year olds you decided to go get some ramen and de-stress. The only chair open was next to Kakashi at the bar, who wasn’t even eating anymore, he was reading his icha icha book while Naruto rambled on next to him about Sakura.
He knows when you arrived, felt you sit next to him, but he didn’t show any signs. He had a crush on you in school and when you were in ANBU at the same time, you never looked his way so he didn’t think you even knew about him. That was, until tonight.
You’re so fried right now, bags under your eyes from the missions you’ve been sent on and from teaching, plus, you don’t remember the last time you slept more than three hours a night. Given that, your filter when speaking to people is basically nonexistent.
You wait for your ramen to cool a little before eating it and your eyes wander over to the words on the page you can read over his shoulder. “This part was my favorite” you say “then the part at the end as well. Have you seen the poster for the new movie?” You ask and then turn your tired attention to your ramen, taking slow bites so you could enjoy it.
He’s glad his blush is hidden by his mask, “I’ve seen it” he says and you nod “I thought you would have. You’ve always loved those books” you say and then smile content with your ramen. “It looks like it’s going to be good” you say and he nods.
When you finish your meal you turn in your stool towards him, Naruto has been distracted by someone else he knows and so you’re not interrupting anything, “i liked that book the best” you say and push your empty bowl forward, leaning your elbow on the table and leaning your head on your hand to smile at him. You talked together about icha icha books and the movies, sharing your favorite parts and ways you thought it could be better. You talk so long that by the time you leave Naruto had already left.
He wouldn’t lie about the fact that your smile always made his heart race, no, he wouldn’t lie, but he wouldn’t tell the truth, either, if he was ever asked about it. “Goodnight y/n” he says and does his cute closed eye thing where you can tell he’s smiling. You feel your cheeks warm up in a blush but you don’t look away you place your money on the counter before hopping off from your stool “I’ll see you around Kakashi” you say and shove your hands in the pockets of your pants and walk out of the shop.
He watched you leave, a curious smile on his lips under his mask, you surprised him today and now he’s curious to know more about you. After that you somehow ran in to him every time you had ramen, and you talked every time for sometimes hours, before you knew it you grew close with him. You trusted him and believed he felt similarly to you.
It’s been a year since then, you felt like he was a good friend now and didn’t even consider it wouldn’t be the same for him. You were both called into the Hokage’s office for a mission together, you were hyped, it was going to be easy peasy, you’ll be back in three months and you’ll have more time with Kakashi. You were walking back home when you saw the fight on the roof of the hospital which led you to wanting to find Kakashi since you knew how he felt about his students, which led to you here, now in the tree tops, trying to get over your feelings and hide them like a true shinobi.
“There you are” a voice said behind you, a voice you knew well, “here I am” you said and made your face neutral before you turned around to look at him. “What’s going on?” You ask and meet his eye, tilting your head a little. You wanted to pretend nothing was wrong and act normal but you felt cold. Inside and out.
“We’re supposed to be leaving tonight?” He says and furrows his eyebrows. “Shit. I’m sorry Kakashi I lost track of time. Give me five minutes I just need to grab my pack” you say before disappearing, running back to your house to grab your bag that’s already been prepared, cursing under your breath for being so stupid for a second time today.
You’re glad that he’s never made you feel like you have to talk, you can run though the trees with him in silence and not be awkward. “Did you hear me? Y/n?” You finally realized he was talking to you and you looked over at him “what was that?” You said and he came to a stop, you following suit and stopping next to him. “I said we should stop for the night. We’ve been going for hours now. it’s probably after two am” he says and you nod “sounds good” he knows something is off but doesn’t press it “there should be a cave up ahead we can stay in” he says and takes off, you right behind him.
“I’ll take the first guard shift. Get some rest” you say as you finish setting up your bed, standing up and walking over to the entrance of the cave, the whole time not really even paying attention to Kakashi or anything he’s saying, if he’s even said anything you don’t really know. You sit at the entrance, your back to him as you keep your mind aware of everything out in the woods and unaware of the man behind you who’s staring at your back, the book in his hand forgotten about, as he keeps wondering why you’re acting weird.
After your guard shift is over you quietly make your way over next to where he’s sleeping, you place your hand on his shoulder and he wakes up instantly, his eye looking into yours. His hand reaches up to grab yours that’s still on his shoulder “oh sorry” you say and try to take it away but he doesn’t move his hand. You look back into his eye and raise your eyebrows, wondering what he was thinking, wondering if he’ll ask the question you can see in his eye. He seems to make up his mind when he releases your hand and looks away, he goes to sit up and you clear your throat “like fifteen minutes ago I felt something off over to the east, but I couldn’t see anything with my Kekkei Genkai. It could be nothing but just in case” you say as you lay down on your back in your bed, using your arm to cover your eyes.
You’ve been on the road traveling for about a month now, you almost made it to your destination and once you were there you would deliver your message and then take a package back to the Hokage. You successfully shoved every feeling back into a tiny jar in your heart, now easier to pretend you never had them to begin with, although you acted a lot like you did when you were an ANBU. He’s noticed, of course he’s noticed, he notices everything about you, he has since you punched him once in the Chunin exams when you stole his scroll. He watched you now out of the corner of his eye as you run through the treetops, he missed how you used to laugh so easily with him.
You’re walking now, him a bit ahead of you, the sun has been down for a while “We can rest here since it’s a bit late or keep pushing until we get there, we could stay at an inn and have our meeting in the morning.” He matches your pace before he responds “second one is my choice” he says and you nod “we’re only about an hour out I’d guess” you say “yeah I’d bet you’re right” that was the last thing said for the rest of the walk. The lights of the city coming into view, your stomach growls for the first time in all these weeks when you pass by a ramen shop “come on” Kakashi says and walks through the door, you thanked every deity you could think of in that moment and then followed him in.
“Yummmm” You hummed over your steaming bowl, you felt like this was exactly what you needed. To warm your soul and let the unknown go. So what he doesn’t care about you. He’s just being a good Jonin and shinobi. It was fitting that it was ramen that helped you release your pent up emotions.
Kakashi was sitting across from you in the booth of the nearly empty restaurant, it was probably around 10 pm now and the only people in here other than you both were a few drunk men at a different table. “After we eat let’s get a room and a bath and we’ll meet the Kage in the morning” he says and you nod, your mouth full of noodles and your heart happier than it’s been these past few weeks. You were going to be yourself and be his friend no matter what, because you cared about him and that was all that mattered. ‘Everything will be fine.’ You think to yourself as you finish your bowl and meet his eye, smiling warmly at him. That just confused him even more. He was sitting here the entire time wondering how to talk to you about what’s going wrong and you just turn around and act normal again. What the hell. He’ll talk to you more about it later tonight.
“I’m gonna get a room at the inn down the road and then head to the bathhouse, you eat and we’ll meet up after” you say as you place enough money on the table for both of your meals before slipping out of the booth and out into the chilly night air. ‘Yea’ Kakashi thinks to himself ‘I’ll definitely have to talk to her about this later’
“Lucky you!” The person at the front desk says “it’s the last room” they hand you over your key and a string of curses go through your mind, you let go of your pent of feelings but that didn’t mean you wanted to be thrown right into intimate moments with him. You couldn’t do much about it now “do you have an extra mattress? I have a friend who needs a room as well and we might have to share” you say and frown, to which they chuckle amusedly at your unhappiness “yes we do! We’ll have one sent to your room” you nod “thank you. Where is the bathhouse?”
The cold night air is calming, you look up at the moon as you walk slowly down the road to the bathhouse, grateful to the inn keeper for the directions. Your hands in your pocket and your footsteps practically silent, just like your thoughts, surprisingly quiet for the first time in weeks. You felt a weight off your shoulders, like physical evidence of your letting go of your hard feelings. Finally coming to terms with your heart. You felt so relieved and you can’t wait to sink into the hot water so your muscles could feel the same kind of relief.
Strings of even more harsher curses run through your head as you read the sign on the bathhouse. It was co-ed. Open to all. Which means you’ll probably have to share a bath with your ninja partner. Just great. You took a deep breath and steeled your nerves before walking into the establishment. Maybe Kakashi would take his time or maybe he’d find another inn and go to bed right away. You sigh, knowing he’ll be here soon.
Luckily the bath was empty as you entered, you lowered your body into the hot water and sighed in happiness. You considered hurrying but now that your body is in the water you know you’ll stay as long as your body wants, no matter who showed up. You laid your head back and took a deep breath, feeling the hot water release the tension you’ve been holding, which was almost immediately replaced with new tension when you heard the door open.
Even though you knew who it was, you raised your left eyebrow, causing your eye to open lazily as you looked through the steam at the silver haired man. He gave you a slight nod before you closed your eye and focused on steadying your breathing. You’ve seen him shirtless before, but you knew if you saw him in this setting you’d have a heart attack and stop breathing. He’d never let you forget that either so you couldn’t let him know the affect he had on you, sure, you’ve accepted you’d never be anything more than work friends but that didn’t mean you were blind.
His body couldn’t relax in the hot water, he had no room and now he had to share a bath with you. How cruel could the universe be? The wet glint off your shoulders that peaked out of the water, your wet hair stuck to your neck, the way you looked so relaxed in the hot water, it all drove him wild. What done him in though, was the way you looked at him when he walked in, ‘sooo cute.’ He thought. This was exactly like a scene from his favorite book, it was everything he could just to keep his boner at bay. So
The sigh that left your lips as ran the warm wet washcloth over your neck, made his heart race, he couldn’t help but watch you. You don’t know what has happened, something in you snapped the longer he watched you wash your chest and shoulders, something compelled you and you didn’t fight it, you embraced it. “You want to help me wash my back or are you just enjoying the show?” You ask, your eyes still on the washcloth as it passes across your skin. His heart beat is hammering in his chest, that was the last thing he expected you to say but he couldn’t resist from moving slowly through the water and over to you, sitting behind you he reaches down and takes the cloth from you, slowly running it up your arm and over your shoulder.
Your heart is pounding in your ears, you sigh softly and your eyes flutter closed, tilting your head to the side as the cloth passes over your shoulder and neck. You pull your hair all to the front of your shoulder so your back was completely open and you hum contentedly as he begins to wash your back slowly, you lean forward when he gets midway so he could go lower if he wanted, your knees up on the side of the seats and your arms wrapped around your knees.
When you’re satisfied with his work you look over your shoulder at him with a smile before turning around to face him, looking into his eye as you take the cloth from him, you run the warm cloth up his arm starting from his wrist, when you get to his shoulder he breaks eye contact to turn around to allow you to wash his back as well. You wash his strong shoulders, leaving the cloth on one of them as you begin to massage his neck, kneading your fingers into his skin, working down his strong shoulders, kneading out knots and smiling every time he lets out of a relaxed, soft, moan. You massage down his back, working the muscles near his spine massaging in small circles with your thumbs to his lower back before running your finger tips up his back and across his ribs before grabbing the cloth and finishing washing him now that you were satisfied with how relaxed he looked. You set the cloth down to the side, softly running your finger tips across his shoulders before placing a feather kiss to the back of his neck. “Thank you for your help ‘Kashi” you whisper, finally breaking the silence, “if you don’t have a room, I’ll get another mattress and you can stay with me. Room 23.”
He was so relaxed he didn’t know you were gone until your words registered, who knows how long it’s really been, he thought he felt you kiss his neck but part of him believes he dreamed it. The longer this mission went the more confused he got.

You spent your entire free period up on that roof, hoping by some miracle that you weren’t crazy, that the group of second-year students that had seemingly vanished before your eyes were in fact pranking you, and upon seeing that you weren’t amused, would get tired of hiding and pop out, finishing the surprise. No such luck, however, and so you left, the second-period bell forcing your hand. Spending the first period of your day - a bit of free time meant for studying, finishing homework, or otherwise enriching yourself educationally - up on the roof and unaccounted for by any teachers was a bit risky already, and you were a decent enough student. There was no way you could just sit there all day, skipping the rest of your classes. Sighing, you resolved to just give up the hunt for your destined main character and by extension the group of potential new friends.
Often after school, you headed to the library, which stayed open along with a select few other areas of Shujin for student use after the last bell rang. Today, however, you felt drawn back to that place, back to that rooftop where you’d seen Akira, Ryuji, and Ann disappear hours earlier. It just wasn’t sitting right with you; you felt a stirring in your soul, like a tiny voice in your head, a shimmering blue butterfly in your stomach. Lucky for you, the rooftop was also open, though you’d never really spent time there. Certain students, including another third-year you admired raised plants up there where the sun could reach them, while others simply came up there for the view or the breeze, some private space to study.
Today, the breeze was indeed blowing, and you sat there writing as it whistled past your ears, polishing up some plot points, scrawling down ideas for your protagonist straight from the imagination, since it seemed you wouldn’t be finding any real-life inspiration anytime soon. It was frustrating, writer’s block, and for the past month or so, it’s all you could do to write a single paragraph. You always found yourself lost in the pages of the novels you loved, and you could identify great writing, appreciate the artistry of another writer, but it was sometimes so hard to put your own thoughts down on the pages of your journal. Why was it so hard? You knew what real romance was. You knew which themes and cliches were overdone and unrealistic. You had a mature and healthy outlook on real relationships and could pick apart the stereotypical female protagonist who was strong and independent until she met the man who would break down her walls or the toxic bad boy who women loved on paper but would cry their eyes out over in real life. You’d read thousands of books and fan-fiction, listened to hundreds of audiobooks, watched tons of romance movies, so why, lately, was it not clicking?! Where was the disconnect between having thoughts and transcribing said thoughts down into your very own masterpiece? Fantasy came so easily to you, sci-fi, non-fiction essays for class, mysteries, research papers, but romance, the genre you loved the most, seemed to purposely elude you.
You were shaken out of your frazzled state when something caught your attention out of the corner of your eye. Shaking your head a bit to try and focus your vision, you looked over your shoulder to see that the black spot on the fringe of your blind spot was in fact actually there. You rubbed your eyes just to be sure, but there it was, a wavering black inky spot hovering in the air. Another appeared, then another, now red in color. You were beginning to feel insane for the second time that day, but rather safe than sorry, you quickly stood, shoving your work and pencils into your bag and shuffling away from the blobs, which were now oscillating and dancing around each other, phasing in and out of existence like a fisheye lens. This was a bit too freaky for your liking, and you were beginning to feel a frightening chill up your spine. The hairs on the back of your neck stood up, and you elected to put some kind of barrier of safety between yourself and the floating bubbles. Like any rational person, your mind was screaming “unknown situation: possible threat: run!” but again, that little butterfly in the pit of your guts was saying there was something worth staying for. So, running to the door to the roof, you swung it open, a ringing in your ear starting to buzz and chime. You closed it frantically, pressing your nose up against the small glass windows that allowed a limited view of the roof. A small gasp escaped your lips, and you instinctively grabbed onto your bag a bit tighter.
The red and black splotches began to dissipate and fade like some kind of glitch in reality, and three figures appeared like mist, like ghosts before beginning to solidify and slowly become tangible silhouettes. Then, as if some kind of magic ritual was coming to a close, the figures poofed into existence, and your brain processed the scene before you.
“Holy shit…” you whispered. There, clear as day were Sakamoto, Takamaki, and the new kid. They were just standing adjusting their clothes, stretching their arms and legs, situating their personal items. It was just then that you saw a little furry head poke up out of Akira’s school bag. Your harsh, analytical gaze softened a bit upon seeing the small black cat that appeared. Had he been carrying that cat around all day? Surely not, right? How would he keep it quiet and still? “What the…?” The inquisitive glare returned to your features when they began… speaking to the cat. It wasn’t the cute baby talk people often use with their pets, either. It was a full-on, serious conversation, and the cat was meowing back, clearly, in response to their statements.
It was a bit muffled by the thick door, but you could make out bits and pieces.
Metaverse? Palace. Shadows... treasure? Kamoshida? Great, that asshole, but what could he have to do with this? What even was this?
You were questioning everything you knew. You were wondering if the juice you had this morning at breakfast was spiked. There was no winning in this scenario, either you were crazy, or these kids were. You looked downward, contemplating your navel as your mind tried to make sense of the events of today. You glanced up again, trying to eavesdrop a little better, get some more detail. You took a step closer, trying to will the sound of their voices through the door to be just a little louder, just a little clearer, when Sakamoto suddenly pivoted, stretching and cracking his spine with a sigh.
“Gah!”  You shouted out. His eyes met yours through the window and widened like a kid caught in the cookie jar. You jumped with a start, taking a cautionary step back and nearly tumbling down the stairs. It was a miracle you caught yourself in time, but your little outburst had definitely caught the attention of the group. Your cover was thoroughly blown. “Oh, no…” You cursed under your breath, spotting both Ann and Akira’s eyes on you now as well.
“Shit! Do you think they saw?” Ryuji’s hands flew to his hair, mussing and working out his frustrations on the dyed strands while simultaneously, Akira was already in motion, rushing toward the door to apprehend the unwelcome listener.
Your heartbeat sped up, and like a gazelle spotted by a lion, a fire was lit under you and you began to sprint, clumsily fumbling down the stairwell and onto the flat platform where the stairs rotated 90 degrees and continued downward. Inhaling sharply, your foot, nervous and supporting jelly-like legs, missed the final step. Your belongings, along with your body, spilled across the square, flat platform, and the door behind you slammed open.
“Hey!” Akira’s yell echoed through the stairwell, and your thoughts bounced off the walls just like his voice. Scrambling, you scooped only the essentials into your hands: your journal, the phone of course, a few homework binders, ditching the easily replaceable items like chewing gum and pencils. Taking to one scraped-up knee and ready to bolt, you felt a hand close upon your bicep and clamp down firmly. “Hey, hey… slow down.” Akira again, now gentler with his tone, spun you around to face him. You stood clutching your things to your chest like a life preserver. “I’m not gonna like… kill you or anything.” A breathy chuckle, and now he was on the platform next to you, scanning you up and down for injuries with his hands in his pockets. “So, uh… so don’t kill yourself by fallin’ down these stairs, huh?” He played off the tense feeling in the air with humor, but the sheer proximity of him, standing there in front of you mere inches away in the cramped space, it was like you could hear your blood pounding in your ears.
What was he thinking right now? Did he think you were some weirdo stalker? I mean, you’d just met him this morning and now you were watching him through a small window like a creep after school… after following him there. Wait, that wasn’t important right now! Was he going to kill you? He didn’t seem like the type of guy to do that, but then again, he didn’t seem like the type to phase in and out of existence either… neither did Ryuji and Ann… what were people with powers like that capable of?
Right now, you were just going to mind your business, and play it safe. It wasn’t worth getting mixed up with people who warp through a “metaverse” and talk to animals just for some good writing material, not if it turned out to be dangerous.
“Well…” you hesitated, “it’s none of my business, what I just saw, and I won’t tell anyone.” You breathed a little easier, tried to regain your composure, to not look too weak.
“So they did see! Awww, shit!” Ryuji’s head popped through the door, interrupting the uncomfortable conversation, and the hot air of the enclosed space was cut through by a gust of wind from the now open rooftop door.
“Now, just hold on, Ryuji,” Akira held out one hand to placate his rather temperamental friend.
“No, no really it’s fine that you talk to your… cat and just… vanish... and I’m sure it’s all fine and multiverse-y and…”
“Metaverse.” Akira corrected you with a small smile, bending down to pick up the rest of your scattered objects.
“Dude!” Ryuji ran a hand down his face in defeat.
“They saw us, no point in being tight-lipped,” he stood, handing them to you.
“Metaverse… right,” you took them, watching every move he made carefully. “Sorry, I’m… a bit more... eloquent in my writing,” you moved to the side, ready to sneak past and descend the rest of the stairs. Anything to get on with your day and escape this unbelievable situation. Akira shuffled, mirroring you and completely blocking the stairwell. There was something clever about him, something sharp and charismatic. He knew exactly what he was doing, what he wanted to achieve, and he knew how to calmly and smoothly execute his plans, unlike Sakamoto, who was far less… organized.
“Writing…?” He was keeping you locked into this conversation, as gently and amiably as he could, and you were not leaving until he was sure he could trust your word.
“Uh… yeah, that’s why I was up…” your eyes met his, quickly recoiling and looking toward the floor again, “...up on the roof. I was just looking for a quiet place to write.”
“What, uh, what kind of stuff do you write?” Ann had now joined Ryuji at the top of the stairs, leaving you feeling completely caged in. Ann threw Akira - who seemed like the leader of the small band of misfits - a desperate glance, a sort of look that seemed to ask: “Where are you going with this? Are we screwed?”
“It’s… it’s kind of private. It’s just… romance stuff. I don’t know, I do all kinds of different stuff, whatever I’m in the mood for.” Akira nodded, more to his friends than you, something you had a feeling you weren’t supposed to pick up on. He stuck his hand out flat, gesturing toward the rooftop behind you. You took the hint, heading a bit anxiously back up the stairs, Ryuji and Ann making way for you.
“You any good?” Akira followed behind you, and now on the rooftop once again, the cool air felt freeing, less constricting, though his question felt a bit insulting, a bit nosey.
“I don’t know… I’ve been told I am…” The three friends took a seat in areas that seemed very familiar to them, like they’d been up here warping in and out of this realm many times before. Now settled into place, Ann spoke up, obviously as apprehensive as you were:
“Well do you… do you think…?” Her high-pitched voice seemed to be hesitant, not yet confident in her next words, not sure if they were all on the same page.
“Yeah, my thoughts exactly,” Akira smirked as if the three had one mind. He turned to you, trying to make eye contact that you vehemently avoided. “How would you feel about helping us out?”

Hi sorry it took me a ridiculously huge amount of time to do this, but here we gooo
200. "He loves you, you know? He's just afraid of admitting it"
_
Steve and Billy's friendship was.. complicated to say the least. Admittedly, Hargrove having punched the shit out of the other boy last November was probably not helping their case. Before that fight, it had been rivalry, mainly fueled by Billy while Steve tried his best to just ignore the guy. After that, they kept their distance for a while, and Steve found out from Dustin that Maxine had threatened her brother with a nailed bat to leave them alone. But the whole thing felt off to Harrington. It's a good thing Hargrove wasn't trying to fight with him anymore, but it seemed everything else was gone with it. His fire died down. Billy came back to school with a black eye Steve knew for a fact he wasn't the one responsible for, and alarmingly quiet. Him who usually was loud and obnoxious was just trying to stay quiet. After interrogating Max (god forbid he'd ask the guy himself), he wasn't given much of an answer, but it seemed Mayfield definitely felt somewhat of an embarrassment when the question dropped. This only concerned him more. The real turn however was one time Steve drove the redhead back to Cherry Lane. Both Neil and Billy's vehicles were parked here and as soon as they got out of Steve's beamer, they could already hear some fighting was going on inside.
"Steve, you should leave now" Max had told, despite the concern written across her face.
"why? What's happening?" Harrington asked with a worried frown that only deepened as Neil's voice raised even louder. They could hear him like he was simply in the room next to them and not outside the house. Max bit the inner side of her cheek, swallowing hard.
"Please, you really sho-" The girl had started before their discussion was cut short by the most haunting pleading Steve's heard. At least in a while. It was clearly Billy screaming, with the sound of a vase breaking right after. He couldn't make up the exact words, but it was obvious the blond was begging for this to stop.
And things kind of clicked. Why Billy was behaving the way he did. Despite Max trying to avoid this being known, because Billy doesn't want it to be known he's guessing, Steve knows now. No matter how much his guts are telling him to storm inside, to just do something, anything, he leaves. He feels extremely gross for days afterwards, spent the weekend wondering if complying to the redhead's request had been a good idea at all. When Billy showed up at school with a scar forming on his eyebrow, having split it in a way that probably would never grow back, Steve had no doubt about the situation.
So he tried finding small ways to somehow approach Billy, befriend him. It was clear the guy's behaviour was stemming from his life at home, but Steve was certain that with some help, he could give the blond a more healthy outlet than knocking people out. This was definitely easier said than done, with Billy being very hostile at the idea of ever hanging out or even being seen with the guy. But one step at a time, one meaningless small talk at a time, they started actually hanging out at lunch. Then after school. Shared joints and deeper conversations ensued over the course of a few months and although this didn't fix Billy's issue, it was obvious he wasn't as agitated anymore.
The main turning point for them was a night of April. In which Steve confided in his own insecurities. Brought up his failed relationship with Nancy, the fact that his parents themselves didn't know him more than on an acquaintance type of level. He felt alone in a stupidly big fucking house all the time, stuck with nightmares he couldn't describe to the blond. For a second he thought maybe Billy would mock him, or flee his way out of the conversation but he did not. He listened. Hargrove let Steve talk and although it was clear the Californian native wasn't used to give advices, he genuinely tried and it showed. Then he opened up too. Billy seemed really hesitant for a hot minute, but he confessed to the abuse at home. The fact that it's been happening for so long and gradually getting worse. The fact that it took an awful turn when Neil caught him with a guy.
Holy shit.
That wasn't expected for sure, caught him off-guard for sure and judging by Billy's face, it showed. The guy looked like he was seeing someone dying. It hit him now. Just how much trust Billy has in him now, to even just share this.
"Nevermind, I'll just go" Hargrove blurted out, getting up with a reddening face. An awful sense of embarrassment coursing through his body. He just made a fool of himself. Again. As he walked out, Steve ran after him, grabbing his wrist but Billy instantly moved it away almost mechanically.
"Listen man, it's okay, I just didn't expect it" Harrington awkwardly let out, watching Billy's back still turned towards him. "It's a bit of a lot to process at once that's all. I think I figured out for your dad, but I didn't know you.." the brunet went on, earning a chuckle that held no joy from Hargrove. "It's okay. That doesn't change anything for me. I'm sorry this happened to you, you don't deserve any of it. Just know you can always come over if you need to sleep away from your house"
And just like this, Billy's sexual orientation was never brought up again. Steve was supportive and offered him a roof more than anyone has in YEARS. He was always stupidly kind, never asked for anything in return. Billy finally had a safe space and someone he could count on. Billy laughed harder than he ever had with him, and the experience was mutual. It was just. Easy. Stress free. Well until he caught feelings. Until he came to realize just to what degree Harrington mattered to him. He'd rather die than admit it, of course, but they were there. The stupid fucking butterflies. Whenever Steve smiled too bright of showed too much care. Usually Billy found a way to distract them both with something totally different, just so he can focus on something else than the way he feels. But with time, it became harder and harder and the fear of slipping up grew bigger and bigger. As much as it pained Billy, he slowly tried distancing himself. Just to avoid this disaster.
However, what Billy hadn't anticipated was just how much this would hurt Steve. He just couldn't understand what the hell he did to upset Billy. And whenever he asked, Hargrove would assure nothing happened and they're fine.
After weeks of useless back and forth, Steve asked Max. Asked what the hell was wrong with Billy. And apparently that was a really stupid question, judging by the stare she gave him. She shook her head with a whispered "boys" before looking around them to make sure no one was eavesdropping.
"You really have no idea?" the redhead asked, crossing her arms.
"Not really, no" the teenage boy reiterated with a sigh.
"He loves you, y'know? He's just afraid to admit it" Maxine explained. "He's changed a lot since you guys made peace. It's obvious he cares a lot for you, so please don't let this destroy your friendship. Just give him time to move on-" she started, cut by Steve that was finally processing the words.
"He's in love with me?" Harrington questioned, although the answer was given to him even before he spoke. Well, damn. He didn't even add anything else, just left with Max calling him behind him.
He just hopped into his beamer and drove off, later realizing he probably scared her to death, she probably thought he was about to fight with her brother over it. But he just had to see Billy. It's now been weeks since he's been questioning himself over this, over how much he cares about the blond. Over the implications of it. But hearing Billy loved him was like all of his thoughts now made sense. He parked into the public pool's parking lot, knowing Billy was on his Saturday shift. He walked in, ignored the girl at the entrance, vaguely explaining he was there to see Billy and headed to the lockers, finding him there.
"The hell are you doing here?" Billy told, putting his sweater on properly as Harrington was just walking towards him in an overwhelmingly confident manner. Now dragged into a changing room, he's really starting to freak out.
"Jesus man, what's your issue?!" Hargrove insisted as the brunet locked the door behind them. "What do you want?"
Steve just found himself speechless once locked in here with the other, now only fully understanding what this was. "You're in love with me" he let out, quite breathless sounding. And Billy turned white like a ghost. The guy that usually dripped in confident was losing all of his arrogance in seconds.
"No" Hargrove mumbled out, his voice now slightly shaky. There were no fucking way out. Both of the discussion and physically.
"You're not a good liar" Steve smiled, watching the blond embarrass himself like a twelve year old.
"Fuck off" Billy replied, trying to move Steve out of the way, just to get his arm pulled even closer into Harrington's space, chest pressed against chest. Steve had this dumb smile on his face, and Billy felt like this was a joke at his expense. Couldn't be anything else. "That's not funny. Just beat the shit out of me, get this over with already"
"I want you to tell me. Say it to me, please" Steve said, completely ignoring Billy's previous words.
"Are you serious?"
"Please" Harrington asked again.
"I.." he looked away, swallowing tightly. "I'm in love. With you"
In response, Steve gave him one of those beautiful bright smiles of his, his hand sliding up to cup Billy's cheek. "You're beautiful" he told before leaning in to kiss that fucking idiot.

MASTERLIST
Disclaimer: I don’t own anything from the Potterverse!
___________________
He couldn’t meet your eyes. James Potter had been avoiding you and you were devastated. You were proud of yourself at how well you hid your inner turmoil since no one said anything, until Remus and you were sitting alone outside in the lawn that is.
You sat beneath a tree, shielding yourself from the afternoon sun. The others were busy in a competition on who could throw the gnomes the farthest. Though however tempting it was to join in, you settled for relaxing since you didn’t want to soil James’ good mood. Remus, wanting to get some reading done, opted to join you.
“I’m going home tomorrow.” You told him.
Remus looked at you in surprise, as if you just dropped a bomb. “What?” He closed his book and set it aside, “Why? We’re supposed to spend two weeks here. We have a week left.”
You pulled your legs up to your chest and hugged yourself, “I just... I think I’ve overstayed my welcome.” You shrugged; you tried to act nonchalant about it but you knew he could very well see your anxiety behind your orbs.
Remus furrowed his brows, “Why would you ever think that? Y/N, everyone wants you to be here.”
You shook your head, “I don’t think James does.” You mumbled, you didn’t want to but tears still prickled at the edges of your orbs. Remus heard you all the same. “He knows, Rem. He knows and now he can’t even look at me.” Going home to the family who all but ignored you was better than being rejected by the person who used to welcome you with open arms. “It’s been two days and he all but flees whenever I enter the same room as him. He can’t stand it, and I won’t force him to.”
“I’ll go talk to him.” Remus was about to stand up but you grabbed his arm and held him down.
“It’s okay.” You told him, giving off a sad smile.  Remus looked conflicted but settled down nonetheless. He held your hand fondly and gave it a squeeze in reassurance, which you were grateful for. He let out a deep sigh and opened his book again.
-
You set down your quill as you folded the piece of parchment and packed it inside an envelope. You sealed it with melted wax and a stamp and handed it to the white barn-owl that perched itself on your windowsill. It was a reply to the Dumbledore’s letter to you; you had written to him immediately after returning to the Potter’s residence two days ago, your hands clammy with nerves, and your ears ringing from everything. You opened his reply once again.
Dear Miss Y/L/N,
It is a surprise to hear of your connection to the recent incident, and I must commend how you and the others fought off the Death Eaters and helped the Aurors, though extremely reckless it was. I believe Voldemort already knows of your identity and would be ever pursuant of his current interest in you. He will try to get you to join him again, and you must stay vigilant. He will not do anything as long as you remain a student of Hogwarts, but I believe it best to relocate your family soon, in case he catches winds about your residence. If you decide to do so, I will, of course, send help.
Take care,
Albus Dumbledore
You rubbed your forehead as you read the letter again, chastising yourself for being so stupid. Dumbledore was right, Voldemort had enough connections to easily know who you were, and you not only put yourself in danger, but now so is your family. They had to move, and you had to leave them to keep them safe. He won’t be able to do anything as long as you still went to Hogwarts, the notion was comforting yet ominous, because what would happen the moment you graduated?
The ministry was abuzz since ten muggles were murdered that night, and more people severely injured. The Muggle Prime Minister struggled to make believable alibis and he couldn’t give out an adequate one was it not for the help of the Minister of Magic. You tapped your fingers on the mahogany desk. You wondered if Severus was able to escape unscathed, but you shook your head at the thought; of course, he would go unscathed, he knew about the attack beforehand after all. You bit your lower lip; he had tried to protect you- you know that now. You may still be able to sway him away from the dark path he seemed all too eager to walk on.
You packed what little you had and zipped your bag close. Now all that was left was to tell the others during dinner. You decided that saying that your mum wanted you home immediately because she heard what had happened at the concert and was concerned for your safety was a good enough excuse.
A knock came from your door and before you could even walk towards it, it creaked open and James came in. He glanced at your packed bag on the bed and turned to look at you, his eyes wide in shock. He took two long strides towards you and pulled you into a hug. “I’m sorry.” His voice shook as he buried his face on the crook of your neck. His breath tickled but you were utterly confused to be focused on that right now.
“I’m sorry.” He repeated. “I’ve been so stupid, and you didn’t deserve the way I avoided you. I don’t want you to leave, if I had my way, I’d want you to never leave.” He pulled away but still held you by the shoulders. His hazel eyes searched yours for something you didn’t know. “You see- what I’m trying to say is... is that I don’t care if you’re a Legilimens. I don’t care if you know every little thing about me, if you can read my mind this very instant, I don’t care. I will never turn my back on you again, never. I hold you too dearly.” You just noticed how his hands were shaking, you took them from your shoulders and held them.
“James, I-” You were about to say but someone cleared their throat by the doorway which made you all but drop his hands and your gaze immediately.
“Uh- s-sorry to bother, b-but your mum wants to know what you want to have for di-dinner, Prongs.” Peter stammered. Sirius snickered from behind him while Remus tried to hold in his laughter as well.
You flushed a deep shade of red as you turned away from them, hands on your warming cheeks. “Out! All of you!” James had snapped, and the boys went running away in snickers. You turned back to him and found him pretty much in the same state as you were in, flushed cheeks and all that.
He cleared his throat, “So um, please don’t go home... yet...” He added the last word like an afterthought, as if realizing that, yes, you still have a family who might be wondering where you were if you wouldn’t return. You nodded and he grinned at you. “I’ll, um... see you at dinner then?”
“Uh-huh.” You sheepishly replied and he bit his lower lip then turned to go out, leaving the door open.
-
“So Y/N, will you tell me what every girl at Hogwarts thinks about me next time?” Sirius grinned as all of you laid on top of the roof, watching the stars. It was a clear night, perfect for star gazing, and you took the opportunity to do so.
You let out a dry laugh, “Of course not, Siri. What fun would that be for your conquests?” Sirius and Peter had learned of your ‘gift’ when they were busy eavesdropping earlier, and like Remus had done so long ago, the rest of the Marauders had sworn themselves to secrecy regarding your ability.
Sirius chuckled, twirling his wand between his fingers, “Point taken.”
You stared at the twinkling stars that shone millions of miles away and listened to the voices of your friends. You wished time would stop in this moment. You wished all of you would stay like this forever... young and free; unbothered by the looming war that plagued your lives.
You sat up as reality started sinking in. The screams of people dying too haunting to be forgotten, and the pale face of the Auror who only tried to protect you. You never even knew his name. You felt a warm jacket wrap around you, and you turned to see James beside you, a soft smile on his face.
“Thank you.” You murmured. The others continued on their conversation while James adjusted the glasses on the bridge of his nose.
“I remember it too.” He told you as he ruffled his hair. You cast him a questioning gaze, prompting him to elaborate; “The concert, I mean. Sometimes I still hear the screams and see the flashes of green when I close my eyes.”
You held his hand and gave it a small squeeze which made him smile. “I reckon the five of us will carry this memory for the rest of our lives.” You pointed out sadly.
He nodded, “True. But I feel a little better knowing that you guys will be with me through it.” He told you and you could feel your heart move by the sincerity of his words that tears prickled at the corner of your eyes.
You wouldn’t be dealing with all these emotions alone, not anymore, and that very notion comforted you greatly. You scooted closer to James and leaned your head on his shoulder, and he instantly wrapped an arm around you.  You sighed in content, because at this very moment, all was well.   “That reminds me,” You started, “You never told me why you were avoiding me so adamantly.” You turned to look up at him, backtracking when he was already looking at you, your faces inches away from each other. You recoiled and he dropped his hand from your shoulder, a deep red penetrating his features.
He cleared his throat, “I’ll tell you someday. Promise you won’t search for the answer yourself?” Tapping his head with his index finger.
You laughed, “I’ll try.”
The rest of the summer had passed by rather uneventfully as you returned home a couple days later. You had set up some enchantments on your home the moment you arrived with the help of Professor Flitwick, who arrived a few moments after you. He thought you the charms and reinforced them for better durability.
Your mother had invited him for tea, but he politely refused, saying that he must visit other households and left in a hurry. Your family, except your youngest sister, looked at him rather curiously and you were glad they didn’t voice out their apparent discomfort. They had also watched you and your professor in awe from the living room window as you casted the spells.
Now you sat on a chair by the dinner table as your mother rubbed her temples and your step-father tried to take in everything you just said; you had explained to them why there was a need to enchant your home.
“So... you’re saying that... that a lunatic is out there causing havoc?” You step-father asked hesitantly.
“Well he’s not just any lunatic, he’s public enemy number one in our world.” You pointed out. “And he’s not just causing any havoc, he’s killing people. Muggles, non-wizard people.” You elaborated once more, “You guys are the very kind of people he’ll be after, and I’m only telling you all these because I want you guys to be safe.” The tea had long gone cold and a tense silence hung in the air. Your two siblings were sent to bed early for you guys to have this conversation, but you weren’t surprised to hear your stepsister eavesdropping at the top of the stairs.
"Y/N, are you sure we’re safe here?” Your mother questioned, gathering her thoughts together. She, at least, understood the gravity of the situation. You knew she liked to read the Daily Prophet when you were done with it, and you were aware she didn’t skip the latest news about the Dark Wizard.
You frowned, letting out a deep sigh, “He wants me to join his cause.” You admitted, and the color of your mother’s face drained. You took her outstretched hand and gave it a squeeze, a gesture that brought tears to her eyes, it had been years since you initiated any sort of physical contact with her. “I won’t join him; I assure you that.” You swore. “Dumbledore is certain he won’t come looking for me until I graduate. By then I’ll be out of this house and the lot of you will be moving somewhere far from here.”
Realization dawned on their faces, “You’re leaving? Why? Wouldn’t it be safer if you went with us?”
You shook your head, choosing not to answer.
I have gathered a group of people who are willing to oppose the Dark Lord himself and thwart his plans, Miss Y/L/N, and I am formally extending an invitation for you to be part of that said group. It will be dangerous and it will require courage, you will not only be part of the heart of the war, your life will be on the line and your skills will no doubt be put to the test time and time again. But this will all be for the greater good, so I prompt you to at least consider it.
“Y/N?”
Your thoughts broken, you looked at the both of them who shared a look of concern at your lack of reply. “It’ll be better this way. This will all be for the greater good.”
You left the dinner table at that, and sought solace in your bedroom, glad that your step-sister had retreated to her own room just as you finished your conversation. You locked your door and got your potions textbook and cauldron out of your trunk. You searched the table of contents and smirked bitterly as you found the page you were looking for:
Chapter 16: Memory Potion . . . . . . . . . . . . 394
-
“Y/N!” Lily yelled as she run to you and wrapped her arms around you, “I missed you!” The two of you reunited at King’s Cross Station, the Hogwarts Express right in front of you, smoke bellowing, getting ready for the journey to Hogwarts. Chatter rang out the entire station as friends reunited after without seeing each other for the entire summer.
You chortled and returned the hug, “It’s so good to see you again Lily.”
“What, no hug for me?”
The two of you broke the hug to look at the messy-haired boy smirk at the both of you. Lily rolled her emerald orbs heavenward, “Sod off, Potter.”
James chuckled at her, “Feisty as ever I see.” He then turned to you and smiled, “Y/N.”
You nodded at him, “James.” It has been three weeks since you last saw him and it feels like it’s been forever.
Lily eyed the both of you, her eyes wide as if formulating something. She instantly grabbed you and pulled you away as Sirius called out to the three of you, much to the confusion of the boys. “Did something happen between the both of you?” She interrogated.
You furrowed your brows, “What?”
She giggled excitedly, “You and James I mean!” She whispered-yelled. “Is there something going on that I should know about?!”
“Um, I don’t think so?” You denied, because really, there wasn’t, wasn’t there?
She pulled you further away, “I saw the way you two looked at each other! If there’s something going on between the both of you, I’m all in for it!”
“Lily didn’t you call him an arrogant toerag before?” You raised a brow at her.
“Oh please, that was before we all got to become friends!” She turned to look at the boys, Remus and Peter had already arrived and the four of them were talking animatedly with each other as if they haven’t seen each other for years. “I’m just saying, I think the both of you make a fine pair now that I see you guys again. It’s like a spell had been cast during summer break that changed everyone’s demeanor.”
Ah that was right, Lily didn’t know what happened yet. You had avoided writing to her about what happened since you didn’t want to worry her, and also you didn’t want to relive the memories. Your expression may have changed since Lily went from excited to concerned in an instant, “What is it? What’s wrong?” She questioned.
“I need to tell you something...” You trailed off but before you could go into your story-telling, the train chimed out. It was time to go.
The boys headed your way, “Ladies,” James uttered and grabbed your trunk from your hands. You tried to get it back from him but it was futile, which only made Lily cast you another knowing smirk. You frowned at her in reply.
“We have to go to the Prefects compartment.” Lily informed you as she and Remus stopped midway.
“Oh, right. Sure.” You nodded, “I’ll talk to you later then?”
The redhead smiled at you, “Of course.” They then walked off towards the other end of the train while you, Peter, Sirius, and James easily found an empty compartment and went inside. You stood by the doorway while the boys placed the trunks up, and entered when they were done.
James took his seat beside you while Sirius and Peter sat on the opposite side. The train took off a few minutes later, and you leaned your head on the window glass, looking at the vast terrain. The boys chatted on, paying no heed to your lack of input to their conversation.
The cart lady soon did her rounds around the train, and James and Peter got up to buy some sweets. Sirius nudged you with his foot and you shot him a look, “What?”
He chuckled, “Nothing. It’s just- you're real quiet today. Is everything all right?”
“Of course. I... I just have a lot on my mind right now.” You confessed.
Sirius gave you a sad smile. “Well, don’t get consumed by those thoughts. We’re here for you aright?” He pulled the sleeves of his sweater.
“Sirius?”
“Hm?”
You folded your hands together in your laps, glancing outside where the others were still busy picking the sweets they want. “We both know you’re more troubled than I am. Do you want to talk about it?”
Sirius stopped pulling his sleeves instantly, “I almost forgot you’re a Legilimens.” He chortled lowly, but it held no actual mirth. “I was disowned, kicked out of the house- with all that burning of my picture in the family tree.” He shook his head as if he found it absolutely ridiculous, “I think Bella told them about our little encounter during the concert incident and that flipped them how I could stand against the Dark Lord himself and their cause. So now I live with James apparently. It’s fine though, if anything, I’m glad to be rid of all that pureblood supremacy nonsense.”
You frowned deeply; his pureblood fanatic family was not foreign to you. You knew, since before, that Sirius suffered immensely in his household, and it made your family life all the much better. “You’re worried about your brother?” You surmised.
He nodded slowly, “They’re poisoning his mind, they are. He’s my little brother and I couldn’t even protect him. I can’t stop him from walking down that path...”
Your heart ached from the familiarity, you leaned back on your seat, “Well... all we can do is not give up now.” You told him, and he understood. He understood that the both of you were in a similar boat, and that made him smile genuinely and nod. You were thankful about the fact that he didn’t even comment about how he knew you were talking about Severus. You knew they weren’t on the best terms but you were worried he might convince you to forget about that snake. That he wasn’t worth it.
James and Peter came back with their hands full with sweet treats and they set it down on the cushions. “Take anything you want.” James told you and you looked through the candies and chocolates. You took a cauldron cake, thanking him.
Halfway before arriving to Hogwarts, you all started to change into your robes. You had to leave the compartment to change at the comfort room all the way down the train hallway while the boys had no trouble pulling their sweaters over their heads.
“Wouldn’t mind if you changed here, Y/N.” Sirius wiggled his brows at you but yelped when James threw his robes at him.
“Hi, Y/N.” A girl with ginger hair and warm brown eyes greeted you as you waited in line for your turn to change in the bathroom. “I’m Marlene McKinnon; we share the same dorm?” She introduced herself when you just stared at her.
You shook your head, “Oh sorry, I know who you are, I’m just a little surprised is all. We’ve never really talked before.” She was nervous, she didn’t think she would ever get to talk to you as well.
She chuckled lightly, “We haven’t, haven’t we? I’m sorry about that; but I hope to rectify that, Lily’s friend is our friend of course.” She gestured to the person inside the room who just came out.
“Oh, hi Y/N.” Mary Macdonald greeted, already in her robes, a kind smile on her face.
“You can change first Y/N.” Marlene told you; you thanked her, not wanting to make it awkward.
You closed the door behind you and discarded your sweater. You could faintly hear Marlene and Mary chatting in the other side of the door, it was a good thing they weren’t talking about you. Was it going to be like this from now on? You wondered. Were your housemates going to make pleasant conversation with you just because you were friends with Lily and the Marauders? Somehow the thought of not being ostracized by your own house anymore wasn’t so bad.
You came out after changing and Marlene went in afterwards. You smiled at Mary, in which she returned the gesture and you made your way back to your compartment. You passed by a group of snickering students, and when you turned to glance, you frowned deeply as you took note of their green robes. It was Mulciber and his little gang; their compartment door was slightly open and they passed around the daily prophet. You squinted in disgust and continued on, missing the way Severus looked as you walked away from inside the compartment.
You dragged the door open and found your three friends tossing Fizzing Whizbees at each other and catching it with their mouths. “Does anyone have a copy of today’s Daily Prophet?” You questioned, interrupting their game as you took your seat beside James.
“I might have one.” Peter replied, swallowing the candy, and got up the seats to reach for his trunk.
“Did something happen?” James looked at you in question.
“I don’t know yet.” You answered. Peter fished out the newspaper from his trunk and threw it to you, which you expertly caught. You immediately skimmed through the headlines while the blonde boy closed his trunk and flopped down on his seat.
Sirius and James huddled closer towards you to check the newspaper, and you arrived at the latest news about the Dark Lord. It said that there were three more attacks, all in different locations throughout the country. Your face paled at the list of casualties, the war wasn’t just starting, it was at its height already, you realized.
The atmosphere in the compartment turned grim. Sirius took the newspaper from your hands and crumpled it up and threw it outside the window. “It’s nothing new. People die every day.” He shrugged then took a packet of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans and ripped it open. “Here, Peter, I dare you to eat this.” He handed the boy an earth-colored bean.
You sighed, all of you coped in a different way, you concluded. Though not particularly healthy, denial was one way to go about it. But you weren’t one to talk since the way you stressed about it all the time couldn’t be considered healthy as well.
You felt eyes on you and you turned to see James looking at you. You cocked your head to your side in question and there was a waver in his gaze. He felt hurt; he wanted to know what you were thinking about and it pained him to see you build walls around yourself once more. You turned away from him, guilt creeping onto your conscience.

Lost and Found

Lost
Time flowed differently as the wind. At first, she was lost. She had no control of her elemental form. The wind was everywhere, and so was she. Simultaneously she was rushing through valleys, wisping up snow in tundras, blowing tumbleweeds across desert lands, and delivering the breath of life to a newborn. Over time she gained back the memories of who she was.
She was Kagura of the Wind, born of Naraku, and died as the free wind.
I want to see him. She hated that her first thought after regaining herself was of a man. However, Sesshomaru’s image filled her mind and she yearned for just a glance of his silver locks. She knew exactly where to look.
The first place she stopped was the village where Inuyasha lived. It turned out to be more bittersweet than she was expecting.
Seeing Kohaku was a welcome surprise. Saving him was the catalyst that was ultimately her demise, so seeing him alive and well made the loss a little easier. Rin had grown significantly too. The little girl who once cowered in fear of her was learning to be a midwife from Kaede. Kagura overheard the town’s people as they praised her bravery as she delivered Hisui in Kaede’s stead. The monk and demon slayer survived. And were breeding like rabbits, already siring twin girls and a son. Even Kagome who just recently returned from “her world”, as Inuyasha called it, was adapting well to her new life.
Life moved on without her. She knew it would, but she couldn’t help but feel envious of everything she could never have. It left her bitter.
She did not return to the village for months after that.
Spring turned into Summer, which rolled into Autumn, and the itch to return to the village became overwhelming. It became so powerful that she no longer avoided scratching.
And like a drug, once she got a taste, she could not stop. It became a daily occurrence to swing by and see if she could catch a glimpse of him.
Which was ridiculous, the entire world was her domain, and she was determined to see every part of it. The whole point of her freedom was that she could no longer be held down. But here she was, clinging to a hope of a glance at her lost love.
Kagura was furious at herself for allowing herself to be so desperate, but it had been months since she regained her consciousness. Not once since she returned had she caught a glance of the mysterious Lord. It wasn’t until one day that she eavesdropped onto a conversation between Rin and Kagome, she found out that he visits Rin on the day of the full moon. To her excitement, it was just a week away.
For the first time since being the wind, she counted her days.
The dawn of the full moon, Kagura rushed in with the sun. She was not sure what she was expecting, but just the thought of his molten gold eyes makes her weak. Anxiously she awaited his arrival as self doubt bombarded her mind, making her want to flee.
Hardening herself, she paced around Kaede’s hut where Rin was sleeping. She tried to keep herself busy by blowing off cobwebs and pushing loose dirt from the roof. That was short lived, so she did every hut in the village. And soon she found herself swirling around, impatiently waiting for her chance to catch a glimpse of silver hair.
A couple hours after dawn, Rin emerged from the hut. A huge grin was plastered on her face as she happily rushed to the town’s center. Kagura followed, right on her heels. Eager as Rin was to see the Lord of the West. However, to Kagura's disappointment, Rin was just meeting Kagome to start her daily chores. Begrudgingly, Kagura followed them to fields where they harvested different herbs.
Kagura paced nervously beside the humans. It was almost mid afternoon and there was still no sign of Sesshomaru. Rin also had said nothing of it, and she worried she picked the wrong day. She was beginning to lose hope, until Kagome's word's shocked her to her core.
“I hope it’s not so windy when Sesshomaru shows up, I would hate for it to ruin your day.” Kagome said, holding down her woven hat tightly to her scalp.
Kagura freezes at Kagome’s words, like she is holding her breath. The thought of her element distributing Sesshomaru and Rin’s quality time had never crossed her mind. However, once it was there, it burned into her. Disgust and self-loathing coursed through her. Even now, she was going to be a burden to Sesshomaru.
Preparing to save-face and leave, Rins words stopped her in her tracks.
“Don’t be silly, Lord Sesshomaru loves the wind.” Rin says easily with a laugh, and Kagura releases the breath she was holding as a gust of wind. Kagome’s hat got caught in the burst, and went flying into the sky.
“Well, right now, I don't.” Kagome sighed, watching her hat fly off into the distance. Kagura wished the priestess could feel her presence right now. If she could, she would know that Kagura was not one bit sorry. In fact, she felt pretty smug about it.
She didn’t get much time to think about what Rin had said, as a thick demonic aura was quickly coming down on them. Kagura was the first one to notice as Sesshomaru approached on the back of his two headed dragon. His powerful energy electrified and disturbed the air around him.
Panic course through her. For months she thought about seeing him again, and now that he was here, she was terrified. Instinctually, she fled from the humans side. Inwardly she cursed her cowardice, as she watched from the tree line as Rin excitedly greeted her Lord. However, she could not help but admit that it was a cute scene. The little girl jumped and waved her arms, like a child greeting their parents after a long day.
From a distance, she watched Sesshomaru land and greet his ward and Kagome. Slowly she crept back in, still keeping away from the group. Close enough where she could still hear them, but far enough where she could escape unnoticed. Rin was eagerly recounting something, and the two adults listened quietly. After a moment, Kagome turned to Sesshomaru.
“You’re lucky, it’s been really windy today. It just died down.” Kagome tucked her messy hair behind her ear, not hiding her annoyance.
Sesshomaru’s eye widened a millisecond before they scanned the field around them. His eyes seemed to hone in where Kagura approximately was. A small smirk flirted with his lips as his glance turned back to Kagome. “Is that so?”
“Yea, it took my favorite hat.” Kagome huffed.
“It would look better on her anyway.” Rin laughed, earning a confused look from the priestess. There was no further explanation, as she led the way back to the town. “Come on, let’s go dry these.”
Kagome followed, continuing her education about proper herb blending. Sesshomaru stayed, eyes still lingering where Kagura was hiding. For a moment, she was wondering if she should approach, but he turned and followed his ward before she could make a decision.
All evening she kept her distance. Not like she had much of a choice. She was locked out when they all retired to Kaede’s hut, and the wind didn’t belong indoors.
Rude. She thought to herself as she waited outside. What was said behind closed doors was a mystery to Kagura. A mystery she couldn't solve as they spoke quietly to themselves for a couple hours. She wanted to knock down the hut so she could hear them.
What was she missing out on? Were they talking about her? Did he ever talk about her?
Well, she could know. The only thing standing in her way was four thin walls. With just a little push... There would be no more mystery.
But alas, she restrains herself and returns to her musings.
It was at dusk, Inuyasha returned from his patrol to gather Kagome. She had no problem hearing Inuyasha shout at his older brother, or the very firm “Sit Boy.” from Kagome.
Kagome pulled Inuyasha out of the hut by the ear, all while apologizing sweetly to her in-law. They bickered playfully all the way back to the hut they called their home. It was sweet that they still had the same fire they had all those years ago.
It wasn’t much longer until Sesshomaru emerged from the hut, and Kagura flew back. She watched as Rin tried not to cry as she said her farewells, Kaede patting the girl’s shoulders to calm her down. He tossed her hair before saying his only and final farewell, leaving a brave faced Rin who returned with Kaede back to her hut.
Kagura watched in the distance as her moment slipped by. Gracefully he walked to the meadow where he had left his steed. However she could not find the courage to approach. She knew he was leaving, and that she would not get the chance again for another month, but the thought didn’t bother her. She had gotten to see him again, and she was content. As the wind another month meant nothing. There would be another chance.
However, she couldn’t help feeling an overwhelming amount of disappointment in herself. Even now she was too afraid to stand up for what she wanted.
She watched sadly as he packed his belongings on the beast. She was about to leave, but instead of mounting his dragon, he continued to walk deeper into the meadow. Curious, she followed him. Excited and anxious energy coursed through her as she watched Sesshomaru sit in the middle of the field. Chin tilted skyward, his eyes lazily stared at the stars above.
Recognizing her moment, she cautiously approached. He made no movement, or sign of acknowledgement that he was aware of her presence. Deep in his thoughts, his eyes searched the sky for answers. She blew gently from the grass, before raising to face his sad eyes.
Just a touch. Kagura ghosts a caress over his face. Softly, her winds breeze over his stripes and through his bangs. He froze for a moment, eyes widening, before relaxing.
“Kagura.” He sighed, closing his eyes and leaning into her embrace.
She pulled back instantly, an absent heart pounds wildly within her. His eyes open half way, and she takes in the beautiful molten gold orbs. They searched the air for someone that was not there. Wondering if maybe he had just imagined it.
Hesitantly, she caressed his cheek again. This time feathering over his stripes, and through a lock of hair that was on the wrong side. A small throaty growl escaped, obviously liking what she did. His eyes remained half open, fixated on the spot he thought she was. Boldening her, she ran herself through his hair and mokomoko, sending strands flying.
“I knew it was you.” Sesshomaru said softly. The very same words he said back then, stirring old painful emotions.
There were so many things she wished she could say to him. Things that she regretted not saying when she was still alive. If she could do it all over again, she would have been honest with her feelings. Naraku be damned.
Now she would never have the chance.
Gently she returned to face him, blowing back some of the stray locks of hair. His clawed fingers push back the wind-teased tresses, and a ghost of a smirk adornes his lips. She stirred the grass at his fingertips, embracing them in the blades.
They sat in silence, enjoying the peace, and in the quiet, she danced for him. Bringing in leaves, feathers, and petals, she twirled them along the grass as she moved around Sesshomaru. Flirting with danger, she would graze close to his body. However, she was especially careful not to have anything actually touch him as it was part of her performance. He would watch her show in awe as she glided across the soft grass. Her winds telling their story in the blades. Captivated, he watched her every move. The perfect audience.
She kept up the dance before settling beside him. They enjoyed each other’s company in silence before Sesshomaru started speaking. He told her what happened after Naraku, and how he earned Bakusaiga. Never before had he spoken so much, but as he continued his tale, she would do her best to respond with her element. When there was nothing left to say or if it just felt right, he would stop talking, and they would sit in comfortable silence. It continued all night, until they ended up watching the sunrise together.
There was no telling how long they could have enjoyed each other’s company, but it was disturbed by a very tired half demon.
“Sesshomaru?” Inuyasha asked with a yawn, making Sesshomaru jump. He must have been starting his patrol for the day, as sleep still clung to him. “Who are you talking to?”
Sesshomaru stood slowly, not used to being caught off guard. Using the opportunity, Kagura said her farewell by running through his hair and flying high above into the clouds.
With a small smirk, he turned away from his younger half brother. “To the wind.”

Kagura gasped as air filled her newly formed lungs. Her eyes shot open to gather her bearings. Absentmindedly, her hand clutched her chest; and what she expected to be empty, pound wildly in her chest. The heart she died for, now raged against her ribs. A grin broke out as she fought back tears.
She felt him lower himself to her level. Glancing up, her eyes met Sesshomaru’s. All worries of her previous life melted away as she smiled.
His eyes held a deeper intensity. Behind his golden orbs swirled sadness, regret, and longing. But mostly, uncertainty. As if she would just disappear into the wind again. His palm hesitantly reached out, and carefully caressed her cheek. Once that small contact, his facial features softened as he stared into his eyes.
“It's you.” Kagura whispered softly leaning into his palm. Reaching out, her fingertips dragged gently against his chest.
Her words stirred something in him, and his eyes softened in a way she would never thought possible.
“Kagura.” His voice was pained as his stare bore into her, but she shushed his words with her lips. As they embraced, the wind stirred on it’s own violation, blowing loose white and yellow petals into the sky.
Everything was right, now.
Now that she was found.

Confessions.
A\N: is this self-indulgent? Yes, yes it is. And did I cry writing this? Positive. Okay, the thing is, this is something I've been wanting to publish for so long, but I didn't have the courage to do so. But recently, I told someone about the whole ordeal and the reaction I got was so different than I expected, so I thought why not write this? Even if one person sees it and relates, or maybe even encourages them to talk to anyone about it, (even if you don't have anybody please I beg you come to me I'll always listen to anything you want to say), I would be so happy. Please don't think this is because I'm trying to get sympathy points, it's not. I don't want anything like that, just to actually help anyone who was in my situation. This fic (rant more like it) isn't fully based on my situation, mine is different, but I didn't feel comfortable talking about that, oh and this isn't edited, I didn't really want to read it over and over again so idk. So, anyway, I'll be posting one of the requests today too, it's fluff yay and my first aizawa attempt, so... Yeah. A/n is longer than the fic itself, seems like it.
Warnings: delicate subject, mentions of sexual harrasment, reader isn't in a good mental state, guys if it's triggering don't read it please I have no idea if there's any other things that could be triggering
Genre: angst, some fluff in the end
Pairing: bakugou x reader
W.c: 1,6k
You felt weak.
You have never felt this weak before, so helpless and unsafe.
You felt like you weren't supposed to talk about this with anyone. It was like if you told anyone, they would shame you, like they wouldn't believe you, or maybe even tell you it was your fault.
It didn't make any sense, why would anyone think that your logical part asked. But your insecurities wouldn't let you tell anything to anyone, making you feel sick when you tried to even hint it.
So you decided it was the best not to say anything, hide it forever even. Though you thought that was for the best for everyone, it was the hardest thing you probably ever did.
Your friends were aware of how jumpy you were late, how whenever someone touched you for anything, or even brushed you slightly, you froze with fear. But when they asked about it, you would brush it off as nothing.
They noticed how moody you were too, how frustrated you were with everything, crying, or getting mad at random, small things.
How you distanced yourself from people, hid for them, isolating yourself.
It was hard for them to see you like this -you were trying your hardest to smile and laugh like you always did, but they could see how much it hurt you to pretend- but it was especially hard for one certain angry boy. Bakugou was going insane, not knowing what was hurting you so and not being able to do anything about it.
Though he could never admit it, he had a crush on you. The worst kind, at that, or so he thought. He didn't like this feeling, of liking someone so much that you were constantly on his mind, his mood changing according to yours, laughing when you laughed, getting furious when you cried.
And lately, it was killing him. He knew you had feelings for him too, he knew how much you tried to look happy when he was around but it was just hurting you and that was even worse.
It was only until that one day he heard your soft voice, trembling with sadness as you explained what was going on to your best friend, Kirishima.
He hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but it was impossible for him to just leave when you were crying so.
"I'm sorry." You told Kirishima between your tears. "I'm so sorry."
***
You knew you had to tell him some time. You just hoped it would be later. But there was no running away when Kirishima pulled you to the roof, making you sit and waiting for you to speak.
"You have to tell me." He told you as you squirmed to get away. "I need you to speak to me, Yn. I need to know so I can help you, you're my best friend and I can't keep pretending nothings going on."
"I can't either." You answered, whispering without even noticing.
"I can't lie anymore, I'm tired." You sighed and hid your face in your hands. "Eiji, you have to promise me you'll listen to me until the end, and don't do anything I tell you not to do."
"Of course." He promised.
"This is about my professor." You finally admitted.
"The one you get along very well with?" He asked cautiously, afraid that wrong words were going to make you stop.
"Uh, yeah." You answered with a dry, humorless chuckle. "Apparently, we weren't getting along for the right reasons." At this, his head snapped up, his eyes locked with yours. "What?!"
"He-he tries to touch me." You mumbled in your hands. "Y/N, what the fuck does that mean?" He tried to stay calm, but how could someone stay calm over that?
Your insecurities infecting you, you felt like he was questioning you, not believing you and you swallowed hardly. "You know what? I-it's really not that important, I exaggerated." You told him, feeling uneasy all of a sudden. But he wasn't having it. He scooted near you, taking your hand in his. "No, Y/N, we have to talk about this! What do you mean by- by trying to touch you?" Your heart hammering in your chest you decided to rip the band-aid off.
"He touches me." You repeated, a lump in your throat, not allowing you to speak more than a whisper. "And he always has that- that smile... that smile that shows he knows what he's doing, and he knows how weak I am, how I can never do anything about it." You went on, feeling the hot tears tumbling down your cheeks. You shuddered with the unwanted memories.
"Did he-" Kirishima stopped talking, wide eyes watching you. "Did he ever..." Although he couldn't finish his sentence, you knew what he meant. "No." You told him. "He never went all the way, it's more like he's toying with me."
"How did this happen?" He asked, words so silent, you almost didn't hear them.
You shrugged. "It started small." Your voice faltering with tears. "At first I thought it wasn't on purpose." You told him as you relived the memories. "His hand sometimes brushed my breasts and my skirt... He would also press his body against mine when he was walking in the hallways..."
Oh my God, this was terrible. Just talking about it made you feel so weak. Why couldn't you just say something, do anything? Why did you always freeze with fear instead of fighting? Maybe some people just didn't have it. Did this make you unworthy?
"Then it just started to get worse. He would full-on grab me when he 'helped' me with my questions, would always come so- so close to me that I could feel him. He started to corner me, made me stay after class, and just always tried to catch me alone."
"Oh my God," Kirishima mumbled, unable to say anything else. "Why didn't you say anything?"
Yes. Why didn't you?
"I was scared." You whispered. "I was scared of- of you thinking I was lying, that I was saying this for attention, that I was exaggerating, that this wasn't important that this was my fault."
Was it your fault? Maybe you could have worn pants instead of skirts. Or maybe you smiled at him too much, did you give him the wrong impressions? Was it really your fault?
His head snapped up, angrier than you had ever seen him. "How could you think all that?" He asked voice laced with anger. "He is a... a well-loved person, Eijirou. Everybody likes him, trusts him and he just looks so nice... Why would anyone believe me when-" You stopped talking when he hugged you once again, tighter than ever before. "I would always believe you."
I would always believe you. Words you longed to hear so damn much, making you cry uncontrollably.
"I feel so weak, Eiji." You said once again, the nickname you had given him falling off your lips for the first time in a while. "I can't even say anything to him... I'm weak... I'm afraid of people judging me, and I just can't feel safe anymore. I can't even trust myself."
"I'm so sorry." He told you between the sniffs he was trying to hide, you thought it was ironic that he was the one apologizing. "I'm so sorry Y/N."
Both of you weren't aware of the angry boy listening to you, shaking with anger and sadness. He couldn't believe there was someone out there making you feel like this when he himself couldn't even dare to tell you his feelings, let alone touch you.
***
"Where are you taking me?" You asked at the boy tugging at your wrists, pulling you somewhere.
Bakugou came to your door the next day he heard your conversation with Kirishima, a plan in his mind to help you, at least a little bit.
"Okay, we're here." He told you. He had brought you on a small field, surrounded by trees and flowers, an empty space in the middle. Your heart beat fastened in your chest, but how could it not when he looked this way to you?
"I will teach you self defense." He told you.
"What?" Wasn't that a little too random? "You heard me." He answered gruffly. "I'll teach you how to defend yourself."
"I- I mean- thank you!" You said, laughing a little. "But I don't understand..."
Oh no.
"Why?" You wanted- needed his answer to be something, anything other than what you had in mind. But it was obvious that it wasn't, when he stayed quiet.
"You heard us." You whispered, hand trembling with fear. The boy you liked, the one you had the biggest crush on, had heard how pathetic you were, how you didn't even have the courage to speak, to push this man's hand and confront him.
"No-" you choked. "It's not what you think." You said as you thought about what you could say, but your mind went blank when his hand caressed your cheek. "Don't." He told you. "Don't lie to me, you don't need to. You don't have to talk about it either, but I'll be here, always here for you to speak, to seek help, and now I will teach you self defense. You said you didn't feel safe, you felt weak. I'll be your safe place if you need me to, but I want you to feel safe yourself too."
You opened your mouth to say something but he didn't let you.
"Look, this isn't because I'm pitying you, or because I think you're not capable of defending yourself. I just- I want to help you, be with you, and this is the only thing I can do."
"Thank you." You whispered and without giving any warnings, you wrapped your arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. "You have no idea how much this helps."
A long silence went between you, allowing you to ask that one question.
"But why are you doing all this for me, Bakugou?"
He pulled back with your question, though so slightly that your noses almost touched each other. "It's because-" he stopped, fear clawing in him. What if you didn't feel the same way? He knew you did, but what if you didn't?
He gulped and took a deep breath. You have been acting so brave for the longest time, he couldn't even understand what you had went through- even though you couldn't see how brave you were yourself. So he decided it was his turn to be brave now.
"It's because I'm in love with you." Your breath stuck in you, eyes wide but a smile of relief on your lips. "Bakugou..." You whispered as he leaned in a little more.
"I love you too."

Miraculous Flash Forward part 6: Romantic Gestures
A Miraculous Fan-Fic
Written By
AJ Dunn
The scene was set. The sun had gone down and Cat Noir had set up the rooftop overlooking the Seine with the same candle arrangements as before. Rose petals laid out on the floor with a red and white picnic blanket spread out. A basket holding foods he had prepared himself thanks to the teachings of Cheng Sifu. It had been 5 years since he had seen her and he was sure she was still patrolling every night without him. If only he had known her true identity then he wouldn’t be standing here feeling foolish as he waited for her to make her way around. He could smell freshly baked bread coming from the bakery just down the road. His gaze drifted to the balcony above Marinette’s bedroom. Oh, many nights he found himself standing on that balcony, with her and wishing she was with him.
How long had he been standing here? She should have been here by now. Temptation lured him to creep off the roof and into the alley near the bakery.
“Claws off,” he said then walked casually into the bakery.
“Oh, Marinette is going to look so lovely in that dress.” Sabine was cooing in the bakery’s kitchen.
“This wedding is going to be perfect,” Tom said. “Good thing your uncle was able to find this dress in her size.”
“I am so proud of our daughter Tom, she did a great job with this one.”
He didn’t mean to eavesdrop, but the conversation caught his tongue and he couldn’t speak. She was getting married. He had waited too long to return. He had turned to leave when he heard footsteps entering the front of the bakery.
“Can we get you something? Most of our pastries are gone for the day.” Sabine said cheerfully.
“Macaroons?” Adrien said. “Passionfruit.” he turned around hoping they wouldn’t recognize him.
“Yes of course,” Sabine said and began gathering up a box of them. “How many.” Adrien nodded knowing what she was asking.
“A whole box ma’am.”
“I don’t recall seeing here before are you in from out of town,” Tom asked. Adrien nodded.
“Oh, for the wedding or the Reunion?” Sabine asked. Excitedly.
“The reunion.” He felt pressure on his heart and wanted to escape.
“Oh, hold on.” Tom grabbed a camera. “We are taking pictures of all of the graduating class for Alya, she’s making a photo journal for your class.” Adrien shifted nervously.
“I uh, got to go.” Before he could escape Tom snapped the photo as Adrien held the box of macaroons. His hood still pulled partially over his head, though his face and bangs still showed. Adrien turned quickly and left. He transformed back into Cat Noir and headed back to the rooftop. Just in time to see Ladybug swing away.
“Ah, stupid stupid.” He quickly followed her hoping to catch up and insist she returned to the picnic. How long had he been waiting in the bakery, had he spoken up he wouldn’t have missed Ladybug, or gotten his picture taken. He was nearly caught up to her when she dropped out of sight. He leaped over the rooftop of the last where she had disappeared and nothing.  He looked around until he saw a window lit up not far from where Ladybug disappeared. It was a balcony much smaller than his own with a sliding door. He saw a crack in the blinds and he could see Marinette.
An old familiar coincidence to run into Marinette right after Ladybug detransforms. His suspicions had been on her this whole time. Midnight hair, bluebell eyes, and the pigtails, well now she simply wore her hair loose. Both of them in fact. Not to mention, their mannerisms. Even Ladybug herself was clumsy at first, even introduced herself as “Madly Clumsy”.
Cat Noir went home, at least now he knew where to find Marinette.
There was a car out front of the manor when Cat Noir scurried into his room. He made his way to the front entrance after detransforming. The gate bell was chiming angrily. Adrien hurried to the front hall where the security controls were. He flipped a switch and the gate camera came on. It was Nino. He hit a buzzer opening the gates and waited at the front door. He steadied himself for whatever his best friend would say. He owed him an apology for leaving too and hoped it would be enough. A knock sounded on the door. Adrien slowly opened it up to meet his friend who stood slightly shorter than him now.
“Adrien?” Nino asked
“How did you know I was here?” Adrien held the door open for his friend who stepped inside nervously.
“Dude, your bedroom light is on, it’s not been on for 5 years,” Nino said pointing to the ceiling. “When… when did you get back?”
“Today,” Adrien said choking back his emotions. “We have a lot to talk about.” He started for the stairs heading back to his bedroom. “Are you still Carapace?” he asked after they closed the door.”
“Yeah kinda, I mean, no one but Ladybug ever goes out,” Nino said looking around the room. “It’s still the same.”
“Yeah, I don’t ever come here.” Adrien didn’t have to say it. “It’s hard for me to be here.”
“You don’t have to explain Adrien, we all understand.”
“We?”
“Your friends.” Nino placed his hands on Adrien’s shoulders. “You are not your father, his actions are not yours.”
“It’s easy for you to say.” Adrien stepped back. “Everything that happened that day has haunted me all these years.” He walked over to the piano and ran his fingers across the keys. He hadn’t played since he had been forced to practice every night. “Everything from what happened with Marinette to Hawk Moth, and even Ladybug.”
“What happened with Marinette?” That was the question Nino chose to ask.
“Don’t worry about it, besides I’m sure Alya already told you she tells you everything.” Adrien smiled remembering the duo that had actually broken his heart even though they never knew. “I was always jealous of you two. Are you still together.”
“Engaged,” Nino said
“Did she propose.”
“You know it, dude.” Nino sat down on the couch and took a deep breath. “How long are you staying?”
“I’m planning on going home, on Sunday.”
“Home!” Nino stood up again starring him down as if he had said something wrong. “THIS is your home, Adrien.”
“This. was my PRISON!” Adrien snapped. “Sure, I had my friends when I was ALLOWED to see them but I was held captive in this very room my entire life.” He sucked in a deep breath as his hands made a motion in the air as if to gather his senses. “I am sorry my friend, it’s just hard being here.”
“So you won’t stay for the Wedding.” Adrien couldn’t tell if it was a question or a statement.
“Marinette?” Adrien choked back his emotions. Nino looked up at him and began to laugh.
“No dude, me and Alya.” a sigh of relief seemed to appear on his face as Nino stopped laughing.
“She’s still waiting,” Nino said seriously. “For your answer.” Adrien looked up at him and smiled.
“Then I guess I better give her one.” Nino walked to the door.
“I have to go man, but you better stay for my wedding. I don’t even have a best man, no one could take your place, Adrien.” Adrien moved to walk his friend out. At the front door, he caught Nino’s arm as he was walking out the door.
“Don’t tell anyone I am back.”
“To late, Ladybug seen your light, she told Alya who told me.”
“And Marinette?”
“She overheard Ladybug.”
“Well, let’s keep our conversation between us then.” Adrien released his arm.
“Of course dude, what are buds for.” he watched Nino leave.
The next day as he was driving to the apartment he had seen Marinette at, he noticed a sidewalk sale featuring Ladybug and Cat Noir stuff. He parked the car on the curb and inspected the goods. He found a Kwami sized Plagg and purchased it. Then ducked into an Alleyway. He set the Kwami Swishy down to transform then leaped up the side of the building to her balcony. He saw the blinds closed but for a small crack enough to peak through. He saw Marinette enter the bedroom wearing nothing but a towel. His cheeks flushed as he ducked out of view. He left the Swishy on the seat and hurried down the side of the building and transformed.
He was still panting as he slipped back into his car. Adrien sat in his car for a while as he saw Alya and Marinette leave their building. He didn’t know what to do, he contemplated talking to them, but by the time he got up the nerve to do so, they were gone. He slipped out of his car and went across the street to a cafe and ordered a ham and spinach omelet with orange juice. He could still see their building from the window seat but thanks to the tinting no one could see in. He kept his hood up so no one would recognize him. To his surprise, no one seemed to even notice him.
After a while and a few more additions to his order he saw Marinette return by herself. Adrien paid for his food and left. At the front entrance of her building, there was a buzzer entrance. He decided to go into the alleyway. His stomach churned as he tried to get the nerve to go see her.
“Why not just push the buzzer,” Plagg asked getting annoyed. Adrien’s lungs struggled to pull in oxygen as he squatted down. His head was spinning and his heart throttled.
“Plagg claws out.” He finally managed to say after catching his breath. On the balcony, he found the sliding door opened.
“Marinette.” He said softly as he squatted on the railing.
“Who?” He could hear her choking on her words. He dropped his feet to the floor and stood in front of the door. “Who are you?” her voice shook as if she didn’t recognize him.
“Are you scared of me Purrrrinceess?” He had hoped his cattish demeanor would soften the mood between them, he couldn’t stand for her being afraid of him. He stepped back as she stepped closer. He leaned against the railing as she came out onto the balcony. She was so beautiful. Her hair was like midnight as the sun bounced off it. While her eyes twinkled. She had a black cat squishie snuggled against her chest. It was a larger one, big enough to cover her entire torso. His heart flipped in his chest like Plagg had last night at the sight of Camembert. He knew this love.
“I could never be afraid of you, I was just.” she choked. Cat Noir had to catch his breath. The sound of her voice was so sweet. It felt like the air had been trapped in his throat. “Not expecting you. How did you know I lived here? She swallowed.
“I saw Ladybug last night, I tried to catch up with her.” He had to shift his eyes off of her as he was losing the ability to maintain his thoughts. “But when I got here I lost sight of her, over there.” He lifted his hand up.
“Oh, you were looking for Ladybug.” Everyone knew how much Cat Noir loved Ladybug, but after he abandoned her, it was likely that everyone now hated him for it. He watched her take a seat then crossed his as he stood there, then slid to the cold concrete floor. Looking up at her he didn’t have to raise his head too far.  There was something in her eyes, sad and it made him want to cry.
“Something wrong? He asked as he tried to get her to make eye contact.
“The 5th anniversary is tomorrow.” he hung his head wondering how hard this must be for her. Was she hoping to see Adrien there?
“I know, that’s why I am back. He saw her face change from sadness to anger, was she angry he was back? “Are you… okay?” he asked nervously.
“You have been gone so long, do you have any idea what you did to Ladybug?” the words struck him like a cold wet hand against his face. “She has patrolled this city every night for the last 5 years, everyone watched her with breaking hearts as she looked for you.” If Marinette was this mad over his breaking someone else’s heart, imagine how the rest of the city felt about him right now. “We ALL missed you.” her tears tugged at his as he almost lost control of his emotions. He tried to focus his attention on his breathing.
“I see you found it.” he indicated towards the seat she now sat in.
“The cat squishy?” she continued to cuddle the larger one as if squeezing the life out of it was her only solace in this conversation.
“I remembered you being a Cat Noir fan... “ he suddenly remembered the incident a few hours ago seeing her in her towel and began to worry she’d see the embarrassment on his face and know he had seen. “I stopped by this morning but…”
“Oh, oh, um… did you? Her voice cracking as the words came out. It reminded if of how she talked to Adrien back in their high school days.
“I didn’t see anything, I am sorry I didn’t mean to…”
“No, no it’s my fault for not closing the blinds all of the ways.” He felt a sense of relief as even she too seemed to relax. “So, Francois Dupont?” His brain clicked off. Wait, what was she asking?
“You went to school there? Did we know each other?” He wasn’t ready for the identity reveal just yet, but what could he say to get out of this one. “You said you were here for the reunion.”
“Oh, oh that…” He felt a sudden shock in his heart as he rubbed the back of his neck. He was wearing his Cat Noir costume as opposed to his Hei Mao one so his head and neck weren’t covered. “I um… was actually here for the City Reunion of the Super… heroes… that save Paris.” It had been all over the news for the past week. The city was apparently putting on a big show for them and had expected to see everyone, although no one knew if he was coming or not. She seemed content with that answer.
“So, why are you... here here?” He figured she was asking why he was on the balcony. He suddenly felt unwanted as her words slipped from her lips.
“You’re the first friend I have seen, other than Ladybug.” he sighed. “I didn’t get to talk to her.” If only she knew who he really was, she’d know why he was there.
“Oh, you might tonight, she goes on patrol ever night.” he could hear her chuckle a little bit and it sounded almost mischievous. “Why did you leave?”
“I am sorry Marinette, I can’t tell you that.’ this was the question he was prepared for. “I’m sorry, it’s just, not something I can share with a civilian.”
“Well, if you remember right, I was Multimouse.” He smiled remembering how adorable she was in her mouse suit. “For a day.”
“Ladybug and I are the only ones who that about you.” He let his smile go. “But not ever she knows my secret.” he wanted Ladybug to be the first.
“Are you going to tell her?”
“If she wants to know, yes.” he had made up his mind, “Even if it means she takes my miraculous… and Plagg.” He didn’t want to give up his best friend, but it was something he was willing to do, for the sake of restoring himself with Ladybug. They talked a while longer as Marinette asked him various mundane questions. Like where has he been, and whether he was married or not. This gave him the opportunity to play around with her and tease her. Sure making her blush was always a bonus.
He stood up to leave bidding her goodbye. He couldn’t wait to see Ladybug tonight and he would be sure to not leave the rooftop until she sat down with him.
Cat noir paced back and forth on the rooftop. Red rose petals scattered on the floor flew up in huffs as Cat paced back and forth. All of the candles were lit and a blanket laid out among the flower petals. A bouquet of roses and a picnic basket sat there as well. This wasn’t going to be like it was before. He wasn’t there to profess his love. Not this time, he was there to beg for her to forgive him. Hoping she wouldn’t be mad at him. He was so lost in thought that he didn’t realize when he wasn’t alone anymore.
“Cat.” A small voice sounded from behind him. He spun around to see Ladybug standing there. She was more beautiful than ever. Her figure filled out more than the teenage Ladybug, her suit confessed her body's curves and the details of her shape as she stood so elegantly amidst the candlelight. His heart stalled in his chest as he fought back the urge to scoop her up and hold her. His body began to quiver fearing the words that were bound to come from her lips.
Silence fell between them as they stood there for what seemed like forever.
“Bugaboo I….” The name slipped his lips before he knew it, the sound of it freezing in his veins. He blinked just once and she was in his arms. Her face was buried in his neck. He closed his arms around her standing at his full height, her legs dangling in the air. He felt her heart throbbing in her chest as her body began to shake. Was she crying. I didn’t dare pull back. He could feel his body growing weak at the thought of her crying, his emotions swirled around him as his knees began to weaken. Slipping to the floor, he held his grip on her.
Now sitting on his knees, her on his lap he allowed his emotions to free. Tears poured out as he too cried.
“How could you leave me?” She sobbed. “I needed you and you were gone.” He could hear her choking on her words. He couldn’t speak through the sound of her tears. His heart was breaking for her. If only she knew, if only he could have taken her with him. They held each other for what seemed like forever as they both released 5 years of pain and loss for their beloved partner.
“Don’t you ever leave me again.” She said, pulling back from him. She banged on his chest with both hands as her anger flared up. “You can never leave me again.” he reached to take her hands and moved them around his waist then wrapped his arms around her again.
“I never wanted to leave you, I wanted to take you with me.” he whispered. “I didn’t have a choice but to leave, and I am sorry I wasn’t allowed to say goodbye.” She pulled back from him standing up. She stormed over to the concrete railing.
“You had your cat phone…” She said, stifling her tears. His heart ached as he watched her leaning on her arms. “I left you so many messages, and you…” she sniffled.
“I am sorry I hurt you.” He said. “I knew you’d be okay, because…”
“I was NOT okay!” She spun around facing him, her anger displayed heavy on her face. “My best friend left me. When I needed him the most.”
“You were always stronger than me.” He said, stepping up to her. “I didn’t have the strength emotionally to say goodbye to you, and hearing your voice over and over again was enough torture for me, I couldn’t bring myself to call you back.” Her face shifted.
“You...listened to my messages?” Ladybug wiped a tear from her eye.
“Everyone, and every night,” he said. “For the past 5 years.” He reached out for her hands. She let him take them as he stepped back leading her to the picnic blanket. “I even made a point to watch the paper for sightings of you.” he smiled.
“Alya…” Ladybug swallowed her tears. “She kept up the Lady blog and even went to work for the paper, trying to send you a message to come home.”
“I got the message, I am sorry it took me so long.” He sat down still holding one of her hands. “I had…. Some things to process through.”
“Well, you didn’t have to do it alone.” She sniped.
“I couldn’t face you, or our friends,” he said. “I had my own shame I had to… I didn’t want to bring you guys down with me.” his voice trembled. He still felt the shame, the shame of being the son of the man who terrorized his home and all of his friends. He couldn’t bear to show his face.
“Where did you go?” She asked as he began setting out the various cheeses, and fruits. Marinette noticed the TS Boulangerie Patisserie logo she had designed for her parents. He had bought an assortment of macaroons and croissants. He even pulled out a spinach quiche.
“You must really like that bakery.” Ladybug teased.
“Best in Paris.” he chirped.
“Are you going to save any of this for your Mrs. Cat?” Ladybug toyed.
“Only if you’ll have me.” He teased back.
“Cat.” She blushed, flicking his bell for old times’ sake. “I’m serious.”
“You don’t think I am?” His voice lowered as if he were hurt. “What about you, did you ever tell him you love him?” His voice was crisp as his words came out too quickly for her to process them. She sighed and looked away. “I see.” He picked up a macaron and stuffed it into her mouth. “If you're not going to talk you might as well eat.” he chuckled. She ate the cookie.
“So, the reunion is tomorrow?” He changed the subject. “Who all is going to be there?”
“You were the only one we were waiting for.” She said, placing her open hand smoothly against his cheek. He leaned into it, closing his eyes. He took her hand from his cheek and placed his lips gently on her knuckles. Oh, the reminiscence of old. He watched as her cheeks flushed a hue of pink that took him back to the innocents of their youth. He had made her blush before and the prospect of doing it again was exhilarating. Oh, how time slipped away as they feasted on each other's presence in the glow of the full moon.
It was hard to part with her as her hand slowly slipped from his. Her eyes watched him until her yo-yo secured on an adjacent building, and she swung away. He packed up the picnic stuff. He headed for the edge of the roof and made his way back to his empty mansion. His bedroom window opened and the lights were on as he slipped inside, placing the basket on the piano then heading for the bathroom after transformed.
“Claws in,” he said as the Kwami dove for the picnic basket.

of coffee cups + criminals - three [j.todd]

Chapter three
Waking up whilst tied to a chair was not on [Y/N]’s to-do list.
Groggily, she tried to look around the dimly lit space - though found it nearly impossible to open up her eyes. The front of her face felt hot and sore, a temporary reminder of the punch she had endured.
Pushing through the searing pain, she opened her swollen eyes to the best of her ability. From what [Y/N] could make out, it was a large room - the ceiling nearly impossible to see. The space around her seemed to be crowded. Multiple different crates littered the area, some open - their covers tossed among the floor, others stacked atop each other.
Based on the minimal sight of her surroundings, [Y/N]’s best guess at her location was a warehouse. Though, that didn't really help her narrow down exact places as Gotham was full of warehouses.
Assuming that the Black Mask was smart enough to operate in secrecy, she knew that the warehouse wouldn't be one near Gotham Square. No, it must have been near the outskirts of town, maybe even close to Blüdhaven.
“...my end of the deal.”
A voice sounded from the far right of the room, [Y/N]’s head snapping towards the sound. It was just light enough to make out a few figures, one animatedly talking.
“I told you, I always keep my word.”
[Y/N] could easily tell who the baritone belonged to. Hell, it was the last thing she had heard, right before that fucker punched her in the face. Sionis grew closer, his conversation now clearer to her ears. Deciding it better to be found asleep, rather than face the criminal again, [Y/N] drooped her head, feigning a deep slumber.
“Not sure why you think she’s needed, didn't seem to know a lick about the Hood - but if this is all I gotta do to make sure he's taken care of… She's all yours.”
The small group was now mere feet in front of her, all the members oblivious to her eavesdropping. Risking it, she peaked open an eye in an attempt to count the pairs of feet.
One, Two, Three…
On the fourth pair, her breath caught in her throat.
She didn't believe it.
There was just no way.
And then in one quick sentence, Roman Sionis confirmed her fears.
“Pleasure doing business with you, Mr. J.”
-
Seven hours, thirty-two minutes and 12 seconds since the last time he had heard from her.
Jason was officially starting to panic. After phoning, dare he say it, Batman, he had sent a signal to the rest of the family - putting his own hubris aside to get [Y/N] back safely.  Though, that was over 6 hours ago.
Dick and Damian had gone to Blüdhaven, expanding the search effort outside of Gotham. Meanwhile, Tim had been instructed to remain in the cave and access each and every public camera in the city in hopes to catch a glimpse of [Y/N]. Steph stayed too, wanting to be on guard just in case Tim found something. Cass and Duke briefly went out on recon, but came back empty handed. The only two that were actively on the scene were Jason and Bruce. The distant father and son duo had spent the waking morning on the roofs of Gotham.
Currently, Batman stood with his back towards Jason - getting intel from Oracle through the cowl. It had been like this for a while now, Bruce would silently get filled in whilst leaving his son to wonder what Barbara had said. Jason had just about had enough, it was his search after all, no one would be involved if it weren't for him. They should be filling him in, not Bruce.
“You ever planning on filling me in, old man?” Jason finally spoke. He leaned against the rooftop ledge, angrily (and anxiously) drumming his gloved fingers against his leather coat.
Bruce grunted as a reply, acknowledging his son's question, but not bothering to turn around.
Jason, with years of practiced impatience, scoffed and tapped the side of his helmet, tuning into the comlink. “Oracle, do me a favour - quit talking to Bats and actually tell me what's going on.”
He almost cringed at the harshness in his tone. He had never had anything against Barbara, if anything he felt closer to her than anyone else in the family. Shared trauma tends to do that to a person. Nonetheless, the secrecy between her and Bruce was getting on his nerves. He knew the longer he was out of the loop, the longer it would take to find [Y/N] - and that was the opposite of what he wanted.
“...Red Hood, I don't know if that's the best course of action right now. I think letting Batman handle this would-” Jason was quick to rebuttal, the notion of letting Bruce handle anything set him off.
“I’m sorry Babs - But last I checked I asked him for help, not the other way.” The name drop, Jason will admit, was immature. Though the line was secure, he knew better than to expose identities. Sighing, Jason apologized, “... Sorry Oracle, that was on me. I just… I just need to find [Y/N].”
It wasn't often that Jason shared his true feelings with the Batfamily, thus this admission of truth was a pleasant surprise to Barbara. The older woman then spoke through her link, “It's fine Hood.” She then turned her words to Bruce. “I- I think he's right Batman. It is his case… He deserves to know everything.”
Maybe it was admiration for Barbara or maybe it was the swell of ‘I told you so’ to Bruce, but Jason, for the first time since [Y/N] had disappeared, felt hopeful.
Bruce finally turned around to face his son, who in turn titled his head in earnest. “Oracle,” The older man voiced, “shut off the coms.” A click resounded inside the two mens headsets, signaling the radio silence.
“Before I disclose the information, I need a promise.” Though he donned the cape and cowl, Jason knew that this was not the caped crusader asking for a promise, but his father. As civil as he could be, Jason nodded for him to continue. “I need you to promise me that you won't go running into wherever, that you won't let your emotions get the best of you.”
The former Robin wanted to scoff, but opted for rolling his eyes under his mask. Bruce was being ridiculous, “This isn't fucking Serejavo, alright?” He knew that he stuck a nerve, he could see a fraction of a flinch from his mentor. “I’m twenty-two, not fifteen - remember? Or do you have me confused with another one of your child soldiers?”
Uncomfortable silence ensued between the two, the seconds ticking by as Jason quietly wished for [Y/N] to be by his side, making this time spent with his adoptive father tolerable.
Bruce’s response was monotonous, practiced as to not show emotion, “That's enough. We’re on a life or death search, this isn't time for a pity party.”
‘Okay, Ouch.’ Thought Jason, ‘Thanks for rubbing salt in the wounds, really great work there B-man.’
Having had enough of this familial crap for the day (lifetime it felt like), Jason conceded, “Just get on with it.”
Heaving a sigh, Bruce took a small tablet out from under his cape. He handed it to Jason who quickly sifted through all of the information. It was chocked full of files, pictures, videos, fingerprints, fuck - blood samples. He perused more and more, going further into the database and then -
Jason thought his heart stopped, again.
He felt as though all the air had been pulled from his lungs.
File 104 out of 305: a single strand of acid green hair paired next to an unknown fingerprint.
“Nightwing found it while crashing a drug trade.” Bruce stated, tone calm and collected.
At that, Jason's brows furrowed, “That's not usually his M.O. Drug trades were never his thing.”
‘No,’ A sick voice hissed in Jason's head, ‘Brutally beating a child to death is though!’
Batman nodded, “Correct. He didn't conduct it. The Black Mask did.”
Roman Sionis, that fucking dweeb.
Jason had had a personal vendetta against him ever since his successful take over of the Gotham underground. In the past, he wouldn't have paid a second of attention to that idiot, but once Falcone dipped, the crooks of Gotham were his for the taking. Sionis seemed to think that just any ‘Roman’ could replace ‘The Roman’.
“What's this got to do with [Y/N]. I don't have time for an extra case, if you haven't realised, my girlfriend-”
Bruce was quick to interrupt before Jason continued one of his heated tangents, “We have reason to believe that he and Black Mask are working together.”
Jason stayed silent, for the first time actually wanting to hear what Bruce had to say. “That being said, rather, we believe Black Mask has hired…” The older Wayne looked at him head on, trying to gage his emotional response before he pressed on, “We think he has hired the Joker.”
It was involuntary, just an ingrained reaction for him to tense up at the mention of the Clown Prince of Crime. Maybe his constant thoughts of [Y/N] were clouding his detective skills, but he had yet to make a connection - or maybe he knew exactly where Bruce was going, but refused to even think of the implications.
“So what are you saying…”
The dark knight closed his eyes, composing himself before giving the final blow.
“I am saying, Black Mask has hired the Joker… to get rid of you.” Even with the mask on, Bruce could sense the indignance oozing from Jason, he held his hand up to silence him and continued, “You’ve been severely depleting the Black Masks profits - he’s losing grip of the crime world. He’s deemed you as the one thing stopping him from complete control, and he's desperate. So desperate that he's hired a maniac to do his bidding.”
Taking another deep breath, Bruce let the information he had been keeping in, spill out, coating Jason in its toxic bearings. “The Joker knows you, as much as I hate it - he knows you better than any other criminal out there. He knows how to get to you. He knows your weaknesses. He knows your strengths, and he knows your allies. Even Jason Todd’s allies.”
And just like that, the small ounce of hope that Jason had felt earlier, diminished to nothing.
He would have taken being blown up again than this.
“Where is he?” Was all that Jason could muster.
Bruce immediately shook his head, “No, Rob- Red Hood, I told you, you promised not to go in like-”
“Like last time?” Jason interjected.
Under the cowl, Bruce's face felt hot, unexpected embarrassment rising to his cheeks. “I didn't say that.” He grit out.
Jason finally let out the over do scoff, “But you meant it.” He then approached the larger man, leather gloved hand stretched out, “Now give me the fucking location.”
Though Jason was the closest to Bruce's build within the family, the older Wayne still had a height advantage on him. He stared down at his son, piercing eyes glaring at Jason to ‘stand down’.
Lifting a hand to press the comlink on, Jason spoke into the helmet mic, “Oracle, send me the Jokers coordinates.”
Before Bruce even got a chance to interrupt Barbara's channel, Jason had received the map, location locked in.
Jason backed away from the Bat, crossing over to the ledge once more, grappling gun at the ready.
“Jason!”
Annoyed, he turned around to catch a glimpse at his mentor, expecting to be yelled at or lectured. Surprisingly, Bruce gave him a tight lipped nod, then - “Be safe.”
Not bothering to acknowledge his fathers - what he assumed to be - half assed façade of care, he swung to the next building, ready to get his girl back.
Bruce knew that two words wouldn't make up for all the hurt he's put Jason through, but it was the most he could do at this moment. He was afraid, he was worried, he was everything a father would be when their child throws themself into danger. Letting out a sigh of built up frustration, he linked up to Babs.
“Keep an eye on him, if it gets out of his control - I’m going in.” Oracle gave a hum of recognition, tuning in her cameras to Jason's helmet.
“Keep him safe… please.”

I’ve been told that I jump to conclusions too quickly, something that has followed me for years. I can’t help it if my mind runs wild, it’s normally after hearing something odd that makes me jump to conclusions.
Ok I guess it is partially my fault, I do eavesdrop into conversations that shouldn’t be heard by my ears, I just can’t stop myself from snooping.
That was how I found myself stood behind the ajar door that held Natasha, Tony and Steve, myself trying to stay hidden so I could hear what they are talking about.
“I don’t know guys, I just don’t think we want the same things” I hear Natasha say, instantly making my heart sink. What did she mean we didn’t want the same things?
“I’m sure Y/n wants the same as you Nat, just talk to her” Steve responds softly, I hold my breath as I await the reply from my red headed girlfriend.
“I guess so, I mean why prolong the inevitable” Nat sighs out, my skin turning ice cold as I let her words wash over me. She’s going to break up with me, the love of my life is going to break my heart.
I hurriedly run away from the door and as far away from Natasha as I could, not wanting to be near the girl so I could prepare myself for the heartbreak that is going to happen.
I have never been happier than I am when I am surrounded by Natasha, be that her arms wrapped around me or just hearing her voice soothing me to sleep.
I thought things have been going well between the both of us, I never had any inclination that something was wrong between us or that we both had different plans for this partnership.
“Y/n where have you been? I’ve been looking for you everywhere” a slightly out of breath Natasha huffs out as she slows down her paces as she spots be sat on the roof.
“Why so you could break my heart?” I spit out as I wipe the tears from my eyes, pulling Natasha’s overgrown hoodie over my frame as I look out over the New York skyline.
“What the hell are you talking about?” Natasha asks me confused as she sits down next to me on the roof ledge, she goes to hold my hand but I flinch away from her much to her dislike.
“I heard you talking to Steve and Tony, heard you tell them that you don’t have the same vision as I do for us. Well just go ahead and break up with me” I tell her as I try not to burst out in tears at the thought of Nat walking away from me, I hear a sigh before she places her hand on my shoulder trying to get me to look at her.
“Baby I wasn’t talking about us breaking up, I wanted to propose to you but didn’t want to make you uncomfortable if you didn’t want to get married. I would never leave you Y/n, I love you too much to do that” The redhead passionately tells me, I instantly let out a breath as I let her words wash over me.
“You want to be my wife?” I ask timidly earning a loud chuckle from Tasha, she gives me a bright smile that I melt at.
“Of course I do Y/n, I would love nothing more.”

Can you please do a 5. “No, please don’t turn off the light!” postwar ptsd moment? 😢
Hi anon! Thanks for the ask! Here’s some post war Hermione with PTSD, with Ron comforting her, and an explanation to Molly and Arthur!
***************************************
No, please don’t turn off the lights. (Terror 5)
Ginny and Hermione were getting ready for bed, and as Hermione was tucking herself in, Mrs. Weasley came in to check on them and say goodnight. This had become Mrs. Weasley’s newest routine, checking on each member in the household before turning in herself. It was one of the little things that gave her comfort since Fred’s passing. Hermione figured that it gave her some semblance of control.
“All set for bed, girls?” Mrs. Weasley asked. Both responded yes, as per the usual routine. “Good, good,” she continued. At this point, Mrs. Weasley would normally tell them to sleep well and shut the door behind her, but tonight, the time was later than usual. Seeing that both girls were already under the covers, Mrs. Weasley said, “Here, I’ll put out this light for you so you don’t have to get back up again,” she smiled as she went to turn it off, when all of a sudden Hermione yelped.
“No! Please don’t turn off the lights!” It wasn’t that Hermione was afraid of the dark, but ever since Malfoy Manor, she’d always slept better when there was one light dimly lit. The soft glow would give her a bit of comfort, and Hermione was convinced it helped with the nightmares (though, nothing helped as much as Ron being there with her).
“But why, dear? Surely, you need it dark to be able to sleep?” Mrs. Weasley reasoned. Unfortunately, her reasoning was off. Even before Malfoy Manor, they always had a blue bell light or oil lamp burning in the tent. It was never truly pitch black.
“Mum, just leave it on, it’s not a big deal,” Ginny tried to intervene. While Ginny had heard many of the details in the past weeks about what the trio had been through, they still hadn’t found time to sit down with Ron’s parents to discuss what exactly had happened. This was partially because they hadn’t discussed how much they were comfortable sharing. Everyone was still healing from the lives lost, and they didn’t want to add more trauma so soon.
“No, Ginevra, I’d quite like to know why the lights need to stay on. You are under my roof after all,” Mrs. Weasley was standing her ground. Hermione understood that it was once again a matter of control, and knew she wouldn’t be able to fight it.
So she chose her words carefully. “I’m sorry, Mrs. Weasley. I know we haven’t exactly given much detail about what we’ve been through since August, but it’s just that the light has been comforting to me when I sleep. Ginny’s been okay with it, too. There’s always been a light on at night for us. It helps me feel safe.”
“But you’re at the Burrow now! You are safe!.Lights or no lights!” Mrs. Weasley objected. “Nothing is going to happen to you here.”
Hermione gave Ginny a weak look. She was about to give in and just let Mrs. Weasley have her way, when Ginny chimed in.
“Mum, it’s either let the light stay on, or let Ron share a bed with Hermione.” Ginny said matter of factly.
“EXCUSE ME? RONALD BILIUS WEASLEY YOU GET DOWN HER THIS INSTANT.” Mrs. Weasley screamed as she looked horrified at her daughter, as Hermione covered her mouth with her hands.
“Ginny-” Hermione hissed at her. She’d made it sound like there had been bed sharing, but there hadn’t! Only on the roughest nights, where Hermione would wake from a nightmare, did Ron come down and lay with her, and he always reluctantly returned to his room after she’d fallen back asleep.
Ron came bounding down the stairs at his mother’s use of his full name. Even Mr. Weasley came to see what was going on, and Hermione was sure that George and Percy were eavesdropping now. When Ron made it to Ginny’s room, Mrs. Weasly moved slightly to let him in, and Mr. Weasley stood in the doorway to monitor the situation.
“Please explain to me why Ginny seems to think you need to share a bed with Hermione,” she said, a look so deadly that Hermione shrunk back into her pillow, as Ron shot Ginny a completely bewildered look. They’d been keeping her nightmares a secret, and as such, hadn’t really discussed sharing that information with anyone. Hermione could now see a black shock of messy hair in the doorway, and knew Harry had come down now as well.
“I’m waiting,” Mrs. Weasley said. She noticed Hermione staring past her and turned to see Harry standing there. “Oh, honestly with all the secret looks! What is going on?” She was getting impatient now.
Harry simply nodded at Hermione, giving her his blessing to say whatever she wanted about the nightmares, including the backstory behind it. Hermione then looked at Ron for the strength she needed to tell them what happened. Ron instinctively walked over and sat down next to Hermione for support. Molly looked like she was about to protest when she felt Arthur’s hand on her shoulder. He let Harry slip into the room.
Hermione took a deep breath. “I’ve been having nightmares,” Hermione started. “What Ginny meant was that Ron’s the only one who can bring me out of them.”
“But we haven’t heard anything in the middle of the night, dear. They can’t be that bad,” Molly said sympathetically. It wasn’t that she didn’t believe Hermione, it just wasn’t adding up quite yet.
“That’s because we silence the room at night. Ginny typically wakes up and goes to get Ron. He’s the only one who is able to wake me and calm me from them. He stays with me until I fall back asleep, and then he always returns to his room. We’ve respected your rules, Mrs. Weasley, I promise.”
“But dear, we have dreamless sleep if you’d like that,” Molly said, trying to be helpful, and a little hurt that they’d been going to these measures to hide this from her.
“No, please. I used it before, but I need to figure out how to manage this without it.” She looked at Ron, who put an arm around her. “Ron’s the only one who takes the fear away.”
“Hermione,” Arthur spoke, “May I ask what’s been causing these nightmares?”
Ron spoke up. “Dad, I’m not sure we’re ready to talk about it yet. We do want to tell you all what happened when we were on the run, but-”
“The timing hasn’t been right,” Harry chimed in.
Ron nodded and looked back at Hermione. “You don’t have to say anything if you’re not ready.”
“No, I think they need to know. It might help, too. Talking about it,” Hermione said. Both Harry and Ron gave her a look that said, ‘Are you sure?’
“About a month and a half ago, we got caught by snatchers and were taken to Malfoy Manor,” Hermione started. She heard a sharp intake of air from Arthur, as Molly clutched the dresser that was next to her, leaning on it for support at the shock of her words.
“They were going through my bag, and found the sword of Gryffindor, which Bellatrix thought we’d somehow stolen from her vault at Gringotts. There was really a fake planted there, but she went into a manic state. She kept me for questioning and they locked Harry and Ron in the cellar. She- she-” Hermione was choking up at her own words and buried her face into Ron, unable to continue.
“-Bellatrix tortured her,” Ron looked directly at his parents as he said. “Used the Cruciatus. I don’t know how many times. It was bad. We couldn’t do anything because we were locked in there. If it wasn’t for Harry and that magical mirror…”
“I asked the mirror for help, and Dobby appeared. He was able to get us out and we got to Hermione just in time.” Harry continued.
“Mum, Dad, she was unconscious and Bellatrix was about to give her to Greyback. Dobby saved us, and we were able to get to Shell Cottage, and I- I don’t know what I’d have done if Fleur wasn’t there. She was in really bad shape.”
“Bill never did tell us what had happened before you turned up,” Arthur said quietly. “Only that we needed to leave, and that you’d been found out.”
“That’s because we couldn’t tell them anything,” Harry said. “I reckon we owe him the explanation now.”
“Fleur always left a light on in the room as I slept, in case she needed to come in and check on me, or give me another dose of potion. But Ron was always there next to me, and the one time he wasn’t, the nightmares started. They go away when he’s with me. It’s the only time I’m able to sleep soundly. I like to think the light helps, but we’d been sleeping with a light on since we’d started staying in the tent.”
“See, Mum? I told you it wasn’t a big deal.” Ginny muttered under her breath.
“I’m sorry, Hermione, I had no idea. Of course you can keep the light on,” Molly said as she walked over to wrap her in a tight hug.
“And how long have the two of you been together?” Arthur asked with a knowing smile. Harry and Ginny both made a look, knowing Ron and Hermione had finally been found out.
Ron and Hermione both looked at each other. They hadn’t exactly talked about when it officially started. It could have been the kiss during the Battle, or the conversations in the days after. Putting a date on it wasn’t really that important to either of them. “Er, officially? Probably the battle..” Ron said as Hermione nodded. She smiled nervously, waiting for Mr. and Mrs. Weasley’s reactions.
Molly burst into tears. “Oh, that’s wonderful news! Finally! I’d been hoping and hoping!” She then wrapped Ron in a giant hug before kissing him on the forehead as only a mother could.
Arthur beamed with pride as he watched his youngest son taking care of the young woman he so clearly loved. Molly may give him hell for it later, but he spoke then and said, “Hermione, if it will help you heal and ease the nightmares you’ve been having, I don’t see why Ron can’t stay with you for the time being.”
Molly pursed her lips as she turned to look at her husband. They shared a silent conversation before Molly said, “I suppose that’s fine, but Ginny or Harry must be in the room at ALL times, depending on where you decide to sleep. And if I suspect at all that there is anything but sleeping going on, that’ll be the end of that.” Both Ron and Hermione turned pink at the insinuation, as Harry and Ginny laughed at their embarrassment.
Ron said, “Yes, Mum,” as Hermione responded with, “Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. You have nothing to worry about.”
With that, Molly and Arthur turned to exit the room. When they were gone, Ginny quickly said, “Harry, you can be on babysitting duty tonight. I could use with a decent night’s sleep. No offense, Hermione.”
“None taken, Ginny,” Hermione responded.
“I’m going to the loo quick, let you both get settled upstairs. I’ll be up in a bit.” Harry said as Ron stood up and helped Hermione to her feet. She grabbed her pillow and followed him up the stairs.
When they entered his room, Hermione said, “I’d bet you a galleon he just wanted some extra alone time with Ginny.” She laughed as Ron made a gagging noise. “You know it’s true..”
“Yeah, well, even still I don’t want to think about it.” He leaned in to kiss her. “Remind me to thank him for giving us a moment alone, though.”
Hermione smiled as she climbed into his bed and got comfortable. He followed suit and said, “That was really brave of you tonight. I’m sorry Mum went a bit off her rocker about the whole light thing.”
“It’s fine. I get it. She’s just trying to have control over what she can. It helps her grieve. I actually feel better now that we’ve talked about it a bit. Maybe it will help with the nightmares.”
“Shh, don’t say that too loud. If Mum knows they aren’t happening anymore, she’ll split us up again. I don’t know about you, but I could get used to this.” He smiled as he wrapped his arms around her.
“Oh, please, I’m sure you’ll get sick of me soon enough.” Hermione responded.
“Not a chance. It’s been seven years, and I couldn’t get enough of you as friends that I needed more. Now that I have you, I never want to go back.” Hermione leaned in to kiss him passionately. His words were so sweet, and she hoped without a doubt that he wasn’t lying. This was everything she ever wanted.
“Goodnight, Ron,” she said quietly, as she nuzzled against his chest.
“Goodnight, Hermione.” For the first night since before the Battle, Hermione was able to sleep soundly with no disruptions.

Little People - An Irish Fairy Tale Part 2
The reign of dreams and roses
"Don't bother them, my dear. You were lucky they found your little trap hilarious!" "Mister O'Reilly, what happened in this valley? Why is everyone warning me against the little people?" A long silence followed, during which the old man sipped his Connemara peated whiskey. "Sweetheart, you may hear a lot of tales down at the pub, but also in our family there's something to tell. You've never known your cousin Billy, haven't you? Well, he might tell you about that time he became slave of the Queen of Spiny Roses for a whole moon cycle." "Slave?" "Don't be surprised. They're ancient souls. They conceive only those rapports they can understand and here in the citadel for a thousand years there was a Count and his servants. They don't understand this free life thing, without owners, where everyone seems equal to each other. They have a very strict hierarchy and I can promise you.. if you keep giving enough rope, they will tie you up. At least, that's what happened to Billy." "What did Billy have to do for the Queen?" "At that time Billy would have sold his soul to fill his glass, to those vices the good people like to cling. A night in the woods a little crowd of fairies bumped into  giant Billy, the Queen ordered her folks to bring their guest a glass of the bitter Spirit's nectar. He guzzle that witches' brew without a single word. He could swear it was tasty like ambrosia of all forgotten Gods. The Queen claimed a payment for his drink and Billy started to mock her 'Is it I pay you?' said Billy 'could I not just take you up and put you in my pocket as easily as a blackberry?' The Queen did not let go of that insolence and the good lords  tightened the invisible harness they caught him in and led him to their ruler like a steed. She imposed a vow of obedience till the end of next moon cycle and on occasion she showed off their rivals her power over him, claiming his tongue as footrest." "I don't get what you're saying, sir. You did tell me we've got power over fairy manifestation.. that it depends on our thoughts and our desires, our hopes and fears." The old man smiled "From what slavery would a man be freed? From drink-slavery or from a queen-slavery?" The girl understood that story was concealing a metaphor of redemption and humility. The old man's stories are indeed so bewildering: you never know where the symbol ends and the anecdote begins. "Anyway when we found Billy he was covered in stings from the waist up. He said the ball of Roses court had been held on his chest. A ball where every damsel's heel is a thorn of a flower and all skirts are petals. To us he had fallen in a field full of nettles." "What a strange story. I would never be enslaved by such a wicked Queen. Why didn't he rise up against her, I wonder." The old man shrugged muttering a proverb of his parts "The lake is not burdened by its swan, the steed by its bridle, or a man by the soul that is in him".
***
That night Elizabeth wrote a quick note in Gaelic by the windowsill:"I want to meet you. Come and see me.". She left a sugar cube as gift. The girl rolled over her bed restlessly, hoping her message would reach its destination and, as often happens, sleep came  all of a sudden, like a swoon. She found herself in a very strange place never seen before. It resempled an ancient kitchen on the basement of a castle, with no windows, red briks as walls and roof, painted cardboard as wallpaper on one side, a makeshift chimney. Outside the noise of the rain was heavy and emptied out of the comforting sensation with which it gifted melancholic souls. She was identifying in that room a combination of minuscule things. All chairs were small wooden cubes of an old child's game, and so was the table. They weren't comfy, but pieces of cloth stuffed with wool, roughly sewn, gave softness to the seat. A pocket mirror served as tray for a miniature porcelaine tea set, a bit chipped, but lovely at first sight. The sugar cube she had left in gift was lying right next to it, with an awl sticked at its center. The girl realized she was falling in a bizarre dream scenario, but something real was also taking place. "Is this a dream?" "Of course, little girl" answered a middle-aged male voice from the outside. The small door of that sort of kitchen was a metal shutter. A man was moving it with his shoulder, carrying a bundle of sticks or twigs bound together and a bucket of water. Covered with a waterproof plastic bag, the man laid down all the materials and cast a glance over the table to be sure everything was in place. His big nose and bushy eyebrows gave him an austere touch and there was something of the  craftsman's wisdom in his skilled hands and his silence. He hunged his unusual coat on the knight's head of a chessboard (his clothes rack, she guessed). The girl was paralyzed and hugged herself in the nightgown. She wasn't cold, the atmosphere was warm enough, she was feeling a sense of vulnerability that made her closed off. The man took care of the fireplace and fill the water on the teapot. "Come closer to the fireplace, kid!" He had a raspy voice and an unjustified scowl to her feeling. "Why'd you bring me here?" He looked her up and down like a fool, then he nodded toward the table where a piece of paper was serving as tablecloth. 'I want to meet you.' read the girl, recognizing her handwriting. "But.. are you Tuvia!?" After a moment of silence, during which the man was trying to  catch the sincerity of the question, he laughed outright "AHAHAH Me? That leaf in the wind? Do I seem a rain spirit?! I thought you were a smart one, kid, but if these are the premises.." The girl didn't seem to appreciate the little man humour "So Sir.. you picked up a message that was not addressed to you. Why should you interfere with my correspondence?!" "Correspondence? Look, sweetie.. what do you think we have a mail service here in Bluebell forest? We give more values to a tree then your own kind.. we don't waste their sheets for a futile message." "Who the hell are you, anyway? Little people? What are you doing here in my dreams?" "That's how we meet for the first time. We don't accept invitations from strangers." The teapot started to splutter on the fireplace, the steam bubbles looked like small domes and the water sounded so much deeper then usual.. she understood that her size was making every sound so alien and unsettling. From the infusion aromas of wildflowers started to spread in the room. "What's your name?" "My dear, what sort of question is that? I'm the guardian spirit of O'Really's family. My name's O'Really, of course" "So.. Do Guardian spirits take the name from the family they protect?" He didn't answer. He didn't seem to like rhetorical question, but was forcing himself to stay kind and served the tea calmly with a piece of sugar cube in it. "Listen, child. We Home spirits don't talk more than is strictly necessary. Our silence is our invisibility. So let me get right to the point: you heard elder O'Reilly advice before.. Do not upset the spirits of these woods. He's telling you this for your own good" Being called 'child" from that Spirit turned Elizabeth against him. She changed attitude and the tone of voices turned sharp and bitter. "So you just don't collect someonelse's letters, you also eavesdrop their conversations!" Talking to her was a great exercise in patience, he acknowledged. "It's not what you're thinking.. I can't just ignore whatever happens inside these walls. We're born from the feelings of this family, if they are worried for you, so am I. That's why I appear in your dream." "I weep from your sudden sentimentality" she said sarcastically "but I'm willing to bet that you were able to eavesdrop on our conversations simply because your lair is not so far from the fireplace" "I'm warning you, don't try to find it. You'd cause trouble to the O'Really family!" "Perhaps you should've considered that before you invited me in first place, you silly little man! Now, give this KID here a good reason she should not wake up and start to play cat-and-mouse game with you?" She sipped the tea, staring at the little spirit with an imperious smile that didn't bode well. "A reason, you say? With humans reasoning is not persuasive. I just pointed the sill you shall not cross, my dear, I didn't mean to push you through it" "Advice I didn't ask for" she crossed her arms and the situation freezed up. The home spirit resigned himself. "How do I wake?" she asked. "Don't worry, soon enough you'll be laying in your bed. Humans have control over the waking hours, but we spirits have our revenge in dreams realm. You're lucky we didn't inherit your cruelty. Anyway, if I can't dissuade you, I will be your messenger and maybe one day I will lead you to Tuvia" "I don't get if you're here to sabotage me or to help me" "We should not threaten the delicate balance currently in place in Bluebell forest. The Queen of Roses is the keeper of this equilibrium, she can't bear humans intrusiveness into her reign. Especially from someone that does look like her." "Do I look like the Queen of Roses?" Elizabeth's questions were to him as sharp and wit as the echo of a well. "Tuvia fought The Court of Roses, you know?" "That light thingie? He's fragile like a blade of grass. I bet if I dare to lay down in the garden he'd become a stain on my dress. Also, if he's so brave why isn't he in the forest, why doesn't he just keep fighiting?" "He's an exile, he no longer knows the comfort of a border. He's devoted to the rain, cause he sees himself and his destiny in the clouds. A new Queen would save him. But he doesn't want to be saved!" The Spirit of O'Reilly got pretty mouthy with sadness. Elizabeth recognized some of the distinctive features of elder Mr O'Reilly and the hardness of Mrs O'Reilly too. A weird mix of both personality traits. Elizabeth sipped the infusion, this time fully enjoying the aroma of freshly picked flowers. She felt her body tossing in her sleep.. she didn't want to wake right now. O'Reilly spirit stared at her then nodded as a farewell. When she opened her eyes, the Spirit's last words were echoing in her head, filling the heart with an odd hope "a new Queen.." she repeated to herself. She could have sworn to feel the wildflowers taste on the tip of her tongue.

"Come vi chiamate?" "Come faccio a svegliarmi?" Elizabeth sorseggiò quell'infuso, stavolta godendone appieno l'aroma.
