@wolfstarmicrofic - prompt: trinkets + sugar high - more hikers... (after camper and nomad)
Of all the places Remus thought he might have ended up at the end of the day, it could not have been the inside of Sirius Black’s tent. Not in his wildest dreams.
But here he was, sat across from Sirius in the tiny space that smelt faintly of new nylon and cows, as Sirius hung up a headlight onto a hook dangling from the tent roof.
In spite of all his collectedness from earlier, Sirius was fidgeting now, unpacking and repacking half his bag, spilling its content onto the mat between them. It was ridiculous, there wasn’t that much space to begin with.
Remus picked up a lighter, flicked open its lid.
“That’s water and wind proof,” Sirius offered, “don’t— turn it on in here.”
Remus snorted. “Of course.” he flicked the lid back on. “This must come in handy.”
“Yeah... I’ve all sorts of trinkets. Threw out half of them, though.”
“I don’t really understand most of them.”
“I know. What old souls we are, ey?”
They lapsed into silence. Remus watched Sirius’ features, sculpted by the lamp light, and wondered why it felt like a sheet of slate stood between them and broaching everything scattered between them. Maybe it’s this, where they were, connected to the land and the sea and nothing else. Not the past, not who they were in another world. But they were here too, before.
“You got me into this whole trekking thing, remember?” Sirius said.
“How could I forget.” Then, smirking a little, he added “and you were always the whiniest little shit.”
“Oh, okay.” Sirius smiled back, “could you blame me, though?”
“Well. You got better at it.”
They both got better at it. They had all the time in the world, to walk from the paths just beyond Hope’s backyard to the Welsh coast, to that trail between lakes and Roman ruins, to those three weeks scaling the Pennines— their last, longest hike together, before everything fell apart, but there they’d learnt so much about and from each other nothing was ever the same again. If nothing else about them made sense, they at least had this. This never changed.
“It was glorious, wasn’t it?” Sirius looked into his eyes, emerging from the same reminiscence.
“I wonder if we can still get our sugar highs to synch up.” Remus muttered.
“Oh yeah, that was funny.”
“We could try that again. Tomorrow.”
“We could.”
“This is—” Remus said after a beat, “strange. I’ve not shared a tent with anyone since Pennine Way with you.”
Sirius’ eyes widened a little, “really?”
“Yeah.”
“Well— me neither, so. What a coincidence.”
Tentatively, Remus brushed away the clutter between them, and shuffled forward to take one of Sirius’ hands into his. “We used to get up to all sorts of stuff—”
“And we still could.” Sirius waggled his eyebrows exaggeratedly.
“—Like lying outside to watch the stars and catching a cold from it.”
Sirius laughed. “We could still do that too.”
“We could.”
Their faces were close and wearing matching faint smiles.
“Wanna go now?” Sirius grinned, his breath tickling Remus’ chin. For some reason, it made Remus laugh.
Before he could think too much, Remus leaned forward, closed the distance between them. And when their lips met all he could think about was what on earth had kept them from this all evening.
“Let’s go now.” He said. Tent-sharing, star-gazing, it all made him feel way too much younger than he should.
But really, those were problems for another world.

I needed to hear you say it | James Potter
Tumblr media
Pairing: James Potter x Fem!Reader
Word Count: 1.6k
Summary: Unrequited love on both sides, James' side in part two– You're in love with James who, despite knowing about your feelings, ignores it as he doesn't want to lose you by rejecting you. After a rejection, you get over him and leave him strangely enough, conflicted.
Notes: I was not going to post anything until I got back from holidays, but it’s really short, so here it is anyway! Not proofread and typed on a phone ;)
Masterlist Part two
______________
“I’m sorry.”
You shook your head at his words, assuring him that it wasn’t his fault. After all, you don’t choose who you fall in love with. It just happens. Just like how you don’t choose who you don’t fall in love with.
The words "I don't love you" rang through your head.
“It’s alright,” you tried to offer him a smile, but your eyes avoided his, your face tilted downwards. Despite your heart hurting, you felt slightly lighter, as if a massive weight had been taken off the back of your mind. “I think I knew. Despite your mixed signals which I must admit, gave me a little hope, I knew. So did you.”
James was slouched on the couch in front of the fireplace, taking up the entire space, leaving Peter and Remus to sit on the floor in front of him, both busy studying like dutiful students should. He looked up at you, vision up side down as a result of his head that had lolled off the edge of the couch, a conflicted expression adorned his face while he studied yours.
You watched his glasses that sat uneven on the bridge of his nose, eyes that seemed to bore right through you, though you sure hoped they couldn’t. How humiliating it would be, you thought to yourself, since more often than not, you imagined what it would be like to be loved by him, accidentally zoning out with your eyes trained on James. You shook the thoughts away in a flustered manner as if to hide them away.
Noticing that James was still peering up at you, you stretched out your leg towards him and nudged your foot against his head in a teasing manner, trying to get him to break his gaze. It worked, and James pushed it away with a face of mock disgust.
“Ew! Get your smelly feet away from my face.” He complained.
You stuck your tongue out at him. “No. I don’t think I will,” you taunted and wiggled your foot in front of him a little more. With lightning quick reflexes, James managed to grad your ankle and started to tickle your foot.
You squirmed away with a high pitched shriek, almost kicking James in the face. “James! Bloody hell?” You loudly exclaimed and retracted your leg. James only grinned in response, blowing you a kiss and a wink. It had your heart skip a beat.
“So what were you thinking about,” you decided to ask him, his frown not having gone unnoticed by you.
‘About how I know that you’re in love with me,’ he thought. He had been thinking about that a lot recently, but unfortunately not because he returned your feelings.
James was trying to pass his behaviour off as normal recently, despite having found out about it. He prayed that you would never confess your feelings directly to his face, because he knew that he’d have to reject you, inevitably losing you in the process. Something he wanted to avoid at all costs.
He needed you.
But he wanted Lily. She was it for him after all, no matter how close you and James were.
“Lots of things on my mind,” James cleared his throat. “Like do you guys think that McGonagall has ever... involved herself with another cat?” He asked the first thing that popped up in his mind and was successful in diverting the conversation. The immediate response was four groans and a chorus of “That’s bloody disgusting, Prongs, what the hell mate?”
James shoulders relaxed when he saw you laugh along. He didn’t want things to change.
James didn’t know what to say to you. He hadn’t wanted to lose you, so he avoided the confrontation, unintentionally stringing you along on the way, breaking your heart when the news that Lily decided to give James a chance had reached you before he could tell you himself.
But now he knew somewhere in his gut that this was the going to be the end of you two. At least for now, he realised.
“Thank you,” you managed and his head snapped up to yours, searching for your eyes but yours were firmly focused on the brick wall behind him.
You took a deep breath. “I needed to hear you say it,” you exhaled, your eyes glistering in the reflected light when you looked up again.
You reached your hand into the pocket of your sweater, grasping at the ring that James had given you. You had pocketed it after you found out that the only reason you received that wonderful gift, was because Lily had told James that she didn’t like wearing jewellery.
You held your hand out to him. James, somewhat confused, still held his hand out and you let the ring drop in the palm of his hand. “I’m not going to get strung along by you anymore,” you told him. Your voice was barely louder than a whisper, but was firm.
James heart clenched, the pit in his stomach enlarging. ‘This is it,’ he thought.
“No more hurting. No more feelings,” you said out loud, as if you were vowing them to him. “Let’s meet up after the summer vacation, yeah?” James’ eyes searched your face, hope at your words, lighting them up.
“I swear on the marauders, everything will be back to normal next year, and we’ll be okay.” Your words were confident, putting him at ease, knowing you’d keep your promise. You beamed up at him one last time before you stepped back, disappearing through the brick wall of Platform 9¾.
September 1st.
James dearly missed you. You hadn’t visited over the holidays as usual. Nor had you answered the letters that James couldn’t help but send you to keep you up to date on what you were missing out on. James was already on the platform, waiting in front of the Hogwarts express. He was early, but he knew that you were always one of the first to arrive of all the students, ready to secure a compartment for the marauders.
James had spent a few weeks with Lily during the holidays, and the both of them had realised that maybe they weren’t it for each other.
Whereas James slept in and enjoyed late night talks, Lily would wake up as an early bird. He wanted to go out and stroll through the streets, get lost in London or hang out at a bar and Lily would rather go to the park and calmly read a book that she’d treated to herself. James liked trying out new places to eat at, maybe laughing at how disgusting something was, while Lily thoroughly enjoyed making meals herself to match her tastes.
She didn’t feel too comfortable with James’ public affection or physical touch, so he would often find himself walking next to her, arms awkwardly hanging by his sides. He realised that even when walking around with his friends, he’d have his arm thrown across their shoulders.
James was also a little bit of a complainer. He would dramatically gasp for air and wave his hands at himself during the heat wave that hit London while whining about the temperature. He sourly eyed the ridiculously long queue of the movie theatre of a movie that he wasn’t particularly interested in due to different tastes and couldn’t help but complain about it. He cursed out loud when they missed the bus and grumbled about the 30-minute wait until the next.
Lily would roll her eyes at him, albeit amusedly. She would hush him and shake her head at his childishness, sometimes with a slightly embarrassed chuckle which was the final issue; she was often embarrassed at his loud rambunctiousness.
Finally coming to terms with reality, Lily and James amicably split up. He still thought she was a great person, but maybe not for him per se.
He was lost in thoughts until two hands obscured his sight, effectively pulling him back to the present. They were warm to the touch and smelled like you. James’ stomach swirled for just a split second, but he didn’t have time to process the feeling in his gut when you spoke up in a low voice, trying to pass off as someone else, as if James would be fooled by that.
“Guess who?”
A grin broke out on his face and he grabbed one of your wrists, spun around and then made your twirl around as well. “My favourite person?” He cheekily teased. He was taken aback when you threw yourself at him, that same fluttering feeling reappearing, despite the fact that you often hugged others like that, and the action being no different than your usual way of greeting him.
When you felt James’ body stiffen, you quickly released him, kind but apologetic smile on your face. You were looking good, James realised. Not in the sense that you suddenly looked incredibly stunning after the summer holiday or anything, although James had always thought you were quite pretty, but you looked relaxed. A delighted expression on your face. Positivity seemed to pour out of you and your smile was just captivating.
“Sorry, did I make you uncomfortable?” You asked, concern lacing your voice. Before he could answer you, you continued. “I’m so sorry if I did, but I promise you, I have absolutely no feelings for you anymore, Prongs. Everything’s back to normal,” you sincerely assured him.
James smiled back at you, he wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you flush to his side while he guided you towards the train. “Everything's back to normal,” he cheerily affirmed, forcing himself to ignore the way his heart had dropped, and the forming pit in his stomach at your words.
“How was your summer,” he asked, before his mind could wander off and imagine what it would be like to be loved by you, instead.

A Man With a Plan.5
prologue // p1 // p2 // p3 // p4 // p5 // p6 // p7
Remus Lupin x whimsical!reader - Hogwarts Era (no Voldemort) - Soulmate AU
CW: swearing, self-deprecating thoughts, James losing his ever-loving mind.
“Okay. Start again, from the beginning.” Remus heard James say as he made his way back down to the common room with the Marauder’s Map held fast in his iron grip.
Regulus sighed something that sounded a lot like for Salazar’s sake, Potter as he looked at the ceiling of the Gryffindor common room for patience; jury’s still out on whether he found any or not.
“She was supposed to meet me in the library after the game to study.” He muttered plainly.
“Right.” James said as he paced near the fire, arms crossed and one hand up near his mouth as he chewed on his cuticles.
“She never showed at the library, but I didn’t think anything of it as she often gets-”
“Distracted, right.” James agreed readily.
Regulus had lowered his head and was now looking at the floor. “I still had her books though, so I went to bring them to her dorm, or at least drop them off for her. Her roommate-”
“Which one?” James interrupted.
“What?”
“Which roommate?”
Regulus scoffed and levelled James with an incredulous glare. “I don’t know, Potter. Why would I know her roommates? The lot of them are tosser’s anyway.”
“Did Reggie just refer to someone as a tosser?” Sirius stage whispered to Remus.
“Was it Mary-Ella?”
“I don’t know who that is, Potter.”
“Did she have glasses?” James tried again.
“No.”
“The red head?”
“No.”
“Okay so it was Jill, then; the blonde.”
“Fine. Yes, Jill,” Regulus started, obviously antsy to get this conversation over with. “Said she had packed a small bag and said, and I quote,” he emphasized, obviously already having gone over this with James, “it’s better that she stays away from the castle for the weekend.”
James had since stopped his pacing and stood in front of the fire as he pieced the facts together.
“Okay...” he started as he looked to Regulus again. “One more time.”
“Potter!” Regulus shouted at the same time Sirius whined “Prongs!”
“This is awful. This is just awful.” James said as he resumed his pacing.
“Okay, well, relax Potter. She’s more clever than people give her credit for – I’m sure she’s fine.” Regulus said as he rubbed his temples.
“I know she’s more clever than people give her credit for.”
“Then why are you so wound up?” Sirius asked. Big mistake.
“Because, if she’s not here, who will stop the nargles, Sirius!?” James shrilled.
“What the fuck is a nargle!?” Sirius shouted back.
“I don’t know! All I know is that Y/N’s not here, and now the nargles are going to steal my stuff!”
Remus was fully convinced that dogs two counties over could hear James at this point.
“Guys? Has anyone seen my shoes?” Peter interjected as he stood from his spot on the carpet where Sirius had abandoned their card game. “I swear they were just here.”
“Oh gods, it’s starting.” James cried miserably.
“Oh relax, Potter. The nargles aren’t interested in smelly running shoes.” Regulus added with derision. “They’d much prefer a nice wizarding pair of dragonhide boots.”
Suddenly, realization seemed to dawn on Regulus’ face as he turned quickly and exited the Gryffindor common room.
“Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods, oh gods.” James muttered as he resumed his pacing.
“Alright, are you going to tell him? Or should I?” Sirius said as he turned his sights to Remus.
“Tell me what?” James said immediately, looking between his two friends.
Remus’ face was pale and clammy while Moony was screaming in his mind at the thought of you being gone, not being safe, being hurt, hiding.
“Tell me what?!” James asked again.
Remus just shook his head.
“Remus.” Sirius warned.
“What did you do? What did you say to her?” James accused, immediately on the offensive as he stalked towards him. Lily stood swiftly to block James’ path.
“I...I can’t...I-she’s,” Remus stuttered miserably.
“Oh, for Godric’s sake.” Sirius muttered as he stalked up to his dorm room. He returned swiftly with the book Hairy Snout, Human Heart and tossed it to James who caught it easily.
“She is his soulmate.” He said simply.
“SOULMATE!?” Lily, Peter, and James all guffawed in unison.
“I thought that was just a myth.” Peter muttered as he took the book from James’ hand and began flipping through it.
“Apparently not.” Sirius muttered as he ran a hand through his hair. “It’s had this guy wound up for weeks.”
“Holy shit.” Peter muttered as he held the book out for James and Lily to see as well. “It’s true. It’s here.”
“How do you know it’s her?” Lily asked Remus.
He snorted and shook his head as Moony shouted MINE.
“Just a hunch.” He muttered miserably.
“Is this why you’ve been so upset, recently?” Peter asked quietly. James scoffed and shook his head angrily.
“So upset... to have such an odd girl as your soulmate, Moony?” James spat furiously.
Remus felt the colour drain from his face as Moony started arguing angrily in his head. IS MINE. IS MINE. MINE, GOOD. MINE, GOOD.
James scoffed and threw the book onto the table. “You know, out of everyone, Remus, I thought at least you’d be more understanding. That perhaps maybe you would know what it’s like to be different from everyone else – treated differently than your peers.”
James looked down his nose at his friend as he began to stalk out of the room. “Turns out you’re just as bad as the rest of them.”
Remus felt a tear fall as he turned back to regard his friends.
“Sirius.” He whispered miserably.
“I know, Moons. I know that’s not why; I’ll talk to him - but I don’t blame him for being angry.” Sirius offered solemnly before he followed James up the stairs.
“You know...it makes a lot of sense.” Peter mused aloud.
Lily and Remus turned to face him with matching expressions of bemusement.
“A witch who believes in nargles ought to believe in soulmates. She’s probably the perfect person for you.” He said simply with a shrug.
Mine. Miss. Missing. Where? Mine. Moony whimpered.
Tumblr media
James was officially missing one half of two pairs of socks, his watch, his school tie, and his new quill set that his mom had sent him.
Oh, and also his sanity if you asked Sirius.
Sirius was starting to feel like he was losing his sanity too, between Remus’ brooding over your ‘disappearance’ (which sounded so dramatic considering you told people you were leaving and that you’d be back after the weekend), James’ (and admittedly, Regulus’) fussing over nargles, auras, and something other entity Sirius has never heard of, and Peter’s complete lack of help with any of the above.
“All this over a bird.” He muttered to himself as he handed James one of his extra ties.
“Moony, up. We’re going to breakfast.” He barked over his shoulder. Remus just shook his head.
“Get up.” He demanded.
“M’not hungry.” Remus muttered petulantly.
“Don’t care, Moons – we’re going to breakfast.”
“Leave me alone.”
“Oh, for fucking fuck!” Sirius said as he stomped his feet. “Lupin, I swear to fuck if you do not get your arse down to the Great Hall right now and eat - because I know you won’t eat later and then you’ll have the moon tonight and then you won’t eat tomorrow morning which will have meant you haven’t eaten in over 24-hours – I will find your bird and bed her myself.”
Sirius felt ridiculous for a) his temper tantrum and b) threatening to steal his best mate’s girl – but it appeared to have its desired effect when Remus stood abruptly from what Sirius had officially dubbed the brooding chair with a growl and stalked out the dormitory door, shouldering Sirius as he went.
It was going to be a long day.
Unfortunately for Sirius, it was an even longer night.
James and Remus still weren’t speaking as the four of them made their way to the Shrieking Shack for Moony’s transformation. Peter, the poor sod, kept trying to make conversation, though it was all in vain as Remus was still too broody to engage and James just offered the occasional grunt of acknowledgement.
And unfortunately, Moony wasn’t in better spirits.
After Remus’ transformation, Sirius – now Padfoot – had the unenviable task of watching a Werewolf in mourning.
The Wolf spent most of the night making pathetically sorrowful howls at the moon, and when he wasn’t crying, he was trying to gnaw angrily on his ankles. When Padfoot tried to get him to stop, or encourage a playful romp, Moony snapped at him.
Padfoot huffed to say “fine, you sod”, but his whimper as he laid on the opposite end of the room betrayed his haughtiness – Padfoot’s heart was breaking.
It was breaking for his Moony – his pack – and it also broke for Remus. Remus, who finally had a shot at something wonderful but let it slip through his fingers because he was too full of self-loathing to accept an opportunity. Remus, who deserves love and compassion, because lord knows he doesn’t give enough of it to himself. Remus, who found probably the most openminded and understanding person in the world. Remus...who found his soulmate.
His soulmate.
Moony found his happy ending.
And Padfoot was not going to let him lose it.
Tumblr media
Remus blinked against the harsh brightness of the infirmary the following morning – his body aching in ways it hadn’t since before the boys started joining him for the full moons. As he stretched, the bandages that pulled at his wrists and ankles explained why.
Moony had been angry. And he’d taken it out on Remus.
Remus couldn’t blame him. All of the floundering, grasping at ridiculous straws, the planning he’d been doing all week. For what?
To use a poor girl for sex and distractions? To cheat Moony, and himself, from what he really wanted? To fight and argue with his friends, his pack? To have you take off for two nights?
He hated himself.
He hated himself, he hated himself, he hated himself.
And Moony hated him too.
Remus groaned as he pushed himself up in a sitting position.
“Feeling better?” James muttered as he fluffed Remus’ pillow for him. His face and tone remained angry despite his kind gesture.
“No, not really...” Remus admitted.
“Me neither.”
“James, I’m sorry.” Remus sighed as he settled back into his pillow. “I swear I...it’s not her, I-”
“It’s not you, it’s me. Really, Moony?” James sneered.
“Yes, Prongs. You know this.” Remus stressed.
“Uhm, no. What I know, Moony, is that you are a wonderful, caring friend who loves his people so strongly, and has more love to give, and certainly deserves more love than he allows himself. That’s what I know.
“I also know that I have a very wonderful, lovely, caring friend who deserves the same amount of love she gives to everyone else, and you wouldn’t even give her a chance!”
“James. I know.”
“And anoth- what?” James stopped in his tirade.
“I know.” Remus repeated as his eyes welled with tears. “I tried to fight it because I didn’t want to drag anyone else into my mess; I didn’t want anyone else to feel responsible for me. I’ve already damned my mum and dad, I’ve already dragged you three into this – I couldn’t do it again. I thought I was strong enough to ignore it, but I can’t.”
“Rem, you didn’t damn your parents. That’s what happens when you have a kid; the kids’ job is to be who they are, and the parent’s job is to love them regardless. And we chose to help you through this Rem – and it was the right thing to do!” James cried as he lifted his hands in the air.
“I just don’t want you guys to regret it one day or decide I’m too much. Then what would I do?” Remus admitted quietly.
“Oh, for- You know what, Lupin? Only way you’re getting rid of me is through death. Got it?” James said with all the sternness he could muster.
Remus huffed a laugh and nodded. “Okay Prongs.”
James deflated and offered a curt nod. “Good. ‘Cause I need your help finding Y/N. I cannot risk losing another one of my quills – my mom is going to kill me.”
Tumblr media
Padfoot felt like he may have scrapes on his nose from how long he’s been out here following your scent. But he knew it would be worth it when he found you and got you back to Moony.
His ears perked up when he heard movement, but he swiftly hid behind a large oak tree when some Centaurs stepped onto the path.
“Now, if you continue West from here, you should find the rest of your path to Hogwarts unhindered. Stepping off the path brings the chance of new adventures and grave danger.” A centaur proclaimed.
“Thank you very much, Firenze. Best of luck on your search for the Snidgets.” An airy voice called back.
Padfoot knew that voice! That was Moony’s soulmate! Padfoot tried to hide his excitement (i.e., he tried to stop his tail from wagging) until the centaurs all left.
Suddenly, Padfoot shifted and bolted out from behind the tree to stand in front of you.
“Y/N!” He shouted as he grabbed your upper arms in his hands, scanning you from head-to-toe for any signs of injury.
You seemed surprised by his appearance, but not startled. Sirius figured you probably should have been startled – it was a pretty startling thing for him to do.
You had no injuries, but a few branches and leaves were caught in your hair and on various parts of your body. You were also not wearing shoes.
“Well, hello Sirius. It’s very nice to see you.” You said plainly.
“Nice to see me? Are you- where are your shoes?” He decided to settle on first. Not the most important question – but it took priority in Sirius’ mind.
You looked down at your feet like you weren’t fully aware they were bare. “You know, I’m not quite sure. Not to worry, though; I’m sure they’ll turn up. Lost things often have ways of finding their way back to us, if not always in the way we expect.”
Sirius had no idea how to respond to that – so he didn’t. “Do you have any idea how worried everyone has been?” He sputtered at you.
Your eyebrows furrowed at that, and you almost seemed upset as you responded, “Oh dear, I didn’t mean to concern anyone.”
Sirius immediately regretted saying anything; now he could see why James was so sweet on you.
“Well, let’s go to the castle and tell them all that, then.” He acquiesced as he hooked your arm in his and began the path back to Hogwarts. You did not seem concerned nor feel the need to object to his manhandling you. But Sirius knew he would not be letting go of you until you were back in the castle – maybe not even then. He was not going to deal with Remus, James, and Regulus like this again.
“Regulus was perhaps most concerned.” He lied, knowing very well he was far from the most dramatic through all of this. “Very worried about the nargles in your absence.”
You hummed in acknowledgement. “As he should; they’d be quite interested in his dragonhide boots.”
“You don’t say.” Sirius murmured, unadmittedly becoming increasingly concerned with the state of his beloved Doc Marten’s stowed in his school trunk.
“Better hurry then.” He said as he all but dragged you up towards the castle.
Tumblr media
Remus tried not to get too caught up on the fact that he was sitting in the infirmary with James and Regulus Black of all people as they scanned the Marauder’s map for any sign of you. He also pretended he didn’t notice the fact that Regulus was holding a duffle bag that appeared to have everything he owned jammed inside it.
“She said she’d only need to stay away from the castle for the weekend, right?” James asked as he continued to scan the parchment.
Regulus rolled his eyes. “Yes, Potter. Like I said.”
“Okay, I can’t look at this anymore – I’m going cross-eyed.” James moaned as he leaned away from the map and rubbed his eyes from behind his glasses.
Remus felt awfully guilty. He didn’t know how you would know - though he wouldn’t put it past you at this point - but he didn’t think it was a coincidence that you left for the full moon. He doesn’t think he’d ever forgive himself if something happened to you because of it.
“Oh, thank Godric.” James finally breathed as he stood from his chair.
“Godric had nothing to do with it, Prongsie.” Sirius called out as he waltzed into the infirmary – your arm in his.
James all but shoved Sirius aside as he enveloped you in his arms. “Where have you been!?”
You smiled sweetly – that damned dimple making an appearance to taunt Remus – and patted your friends back.
“Oh, I wasn’t far Jamie.”
Sirius let out a pfft from where he was now leaning against the wall at the end of Remus’ bed. “Not far she says. I found her with a herd of centaurs.”
“CENTAURS.” The three other boys shouted, earning them a dramatic shushing from the matron.
“Y/N, centaurs are very hostile towards wizard-kind.” Regulus spoke severely, albeit more quietly for Madame Pomfrey's benefit.
“I don’t agree.” You said simply as you turned to look at Remus. “Are you feeling much better?” You asked him.
Your voice was so tranquil compared to the conversation with the boys, and even with Madame Pomfrey – Remus was sure if he was hooked up to a muggle heart monitor, his blood pressure would be dropping just from listening to you speak.
Keep smiling at him like that, though, and it might pick right back up.
“I am, Y/N. Thank you.”
You sighed in relief as you sat on the edge of the foot of Remus’ bed. “Oh good. I figured it’d be easier if I was gone.”
Sirius and James’ necks looked like they might have snapped as they turned to look at you. The room fell painfully quiet as Sirius, James, and Remus all looked at each other and then to Regulus.
Regulus seemed to understand his intrusion. “Uhm, right. Well, Y/N L/N, you are to never take off like that again without informing me. Got it?” He said severely. Remus is sure most people would have cowered, but you smiled sweetly and brushed his cheek.
"Okay, Reg."
Regulus offered you a curt nod and left the infirmary. Remus supposed that was likely as loving as Regulus Black could ever get.
“What would have been easier if you were gone, Y/N?” James asked quietly.
“Well, the moon, of course.” You responded.
That muggle heart rate monitor? It’d be showing no signal at this point.
“I’m terribly sorry if your bond to me is causing you problems, Remus.” You offered solemnly. Remus thought this might be the most emotion he’d ever seen from you.
“It’s...it’s not your fault.” Remus croaked.
“Y/N, how much do you know?” Sirius asked.
You considered Sirius for a moment before responding. “About what?”
Sirius looked between the you and Remus before arching his brow at the latter. Remus grimaced and leaned forward to tap his finger against your hand that was closest to him to bring your attention to him.
“How much do you know about me?”
 “Well, I know your name is Remus Lupin. You’re from a town outside of Cardiff. You’re a Pisces, a Gryffindor, a werewolf, and a prefect. And you have a magical connection to me, it seems.” You said all too simply, head tilted as you searched his face for something.
Remus’ mind was reeling; it was reeling that you apparently knew he was a werewolf, and it was reeling at the fact that in a list of things you knew about him, that fact fell between him being a Gryffindor and a prefect and was not as important to you as his birth sign.
“What’s his name?” You asked suddenly.
Remus shook his head as if to wake himself up. “I’m sorry?”
“The Wolf; what’s his name?”
Remus looked to Sirius who was staring at you with a terrified sort of awe, and then to James who looked both proud and smug that you’d figured it out.
“It’s Moony.” Remus whispered.
You smiled greatly at that. “A wonderful name.”
Sirius smirked at that – clearly chuffed his hard work was appreciated.
“It’s fitting too – should have seen him mooning over you this weekend – this month even!” James said.
Remus threw a chocolate wrapper at him from his bedside table.
“I’m sure it’s difficult, feeling tied to someone so odd.” You offered quietly, and any friendly banter drained from the boys immediately.
“Y/N, that’s-” James started, but Remus interrupted.
“I’m so sorry to have made you believe that Y/N, but it’s just not true.” He said emphatically.
You tilted your head at him in intrigue. “No?”
He shook his head. “No. I was trying to keep you away from...Moony, from my infliction.” He admitted shamefully.
“Hm. Well, that didn’t work very well.” You said plainly, causing Sirius to bark a laugh.
“Most of his plans don’t, dollface.” He said through a chuckle.
“Oh, plans aren’t always a bad thing: it’s good to be prepared. But it’s important to plan to be spontaneous as well.”
“Plan to be spontaneous?” James asked incredulously.
“Oh yes,” you said severely. “I get my best work done that way.”
James seemed to consider this as Sirius sighed. “Yes, and, if you plan too much, auror’s throw around words like premeditated.”
You nodded in comradery. “Very true, Sirius.”

lovely hair
summary remus won't let you shower when you get home.
content remus lupin x fem!afab!reader
note um yes this is him <3
You finish work and there are about three things on your mind. Dinner, taking your horrible shoes off, and your boyfriend who you know is about somewhere. You suspect his bedroom.
You sit down at his ottoman and slip your mary jane's off. You leave them on the rug and decide to deal with them later. You can hear Remus's heavy footsteps across his flat.
You head to where you know he is and crack the door open. He sits on his bed with a towel around his waist and another in his hair. "Rem," you say quietly, not to disturb the blanket of quiet. He drags the towel over his face and looks at you. Smiling.
"Baby," he says. He never calls you baby.
"Hello," you chirp. Moving over to him, you unzip your skirt for more relief. You stand between his legs and sigh.
"Missed you," he mumbles as you throw your arms over his shoulders, linked behind his neck. The towel guards you against the water on his skin.
"Yeah?" you ask. You can't help it when you take the hair at the nape of his neck between gentle fingers. You twist and twist until water beads between your pointer and thumb and drags down your palm.
"Had a long day," he admits and sounds more tired than he seems. He looks fresh and dewy from his shower, cheeks a tinge of pink, eyelashes sparkling with drops of water. Still, he blinks slowly and you can see his breaths becoming more shallow.
You take his towel from his shoulders before his back can get any worse, and pout on his behalf. "I'm sorry, honey," you say gently. With even worse hands, you start to dry his hair.
You're much more gentle than you know he would've been. You can see it's started to frizz where it falls around his eyes where he's been rough with it. You work the excess water from his hair, slow where you squeeze and ruffle his soft locks.
"Feels nice," he says. Voice quiet and thick when he speaks. You watch him close his eyes and lean back into your arms. He's adorable.
"Yeah, you're mean to your hair," you say just as quietly.
"Am not."
"You're too quick, you gotta do it slowly," you tell him and throw his damp towel through the open door of his bathroom. "You have such lovely hair."
He leans back in and pushes his face into your abdomen. Nose pressing into the fat of your belly, he sighs. He wraps his arms around your legs and the barrier of your work tights feels horrible. You need to feel his skin some more if you're honest about it.
"Wanna take off your skirt?" he says into your shirt.
"Yeah," you say back.
He lets you go with a touch of excitement. You giggle and bend down to tug it down your legs and step out of it. He's back on you before you know it.
"Can I get changed?" you ask, holding his face in your hands. You tug his cheeks back gently and brush your thumbs over their highest point.
He shakes his head and mumbles a no.
"Remus, I'm all smelly," you say with a wrinkled face. You'd push him off if you had it in you.
"No, you're not," he says firmly. "You smell like you."
"I've been at work all day, I wanna have a shower," you tell him through a laugh.
"But, I've already showered," he says, mildly put out.
It's a treasure, really, to see him like this. It's rare, he's never this touchy, this wanting. You're used to his silent pleas, the grabs and searching hands that he tries to keep minimal. Though, when he's tired like this he hasn't an ounce of resolve. He's much more pliable, you think.
"Remus," you say as firmly as you can manage. Not very, if you're honest.
"Just lay down with me for a little bit." It's not really a question and you don't blame him for it. You've felt the same way several times - most of the time - and he's never denied you. He sleeps in later than he should with you in the mornings, he lets you sit in his lap when you ask him, and he never says no when you ask to cuddle on his sofa. It's not in his nature.
You look at him, the last sparkles of dampness, the towel that's started to slip off his waist, and his soft tummy, and you suddenly don't think it's in your nature to say no to him either.
"Okay," you say much to his delight. His droopy eyes brighten more than you thought was possible. "Okay, we can do that."
He doesn't say anything intelligible, just tugs you down with him into his bed. You curl in on yourself, tucked into his side with his arm behind your head. You lay your arm over his naked torso and realise this is much better.
“Not long, though,” you say but you don’t want to. You’d hoped this wouldn’t happen. “Gotta have a shower and make dinner.”
“Can I shower with you?” he asks, hand smoothing a pattern up your arm and into the rumpled sleeve of your blouse.
“You’re not serious, are you?” you laugh and look at him through the crush of your eyelashes.
He looks like you’ve slapped him. “Yeah, sweetheart.”
“Your hair’s just dried, baby.” You twist another selfish finger through his damp hair in front of his face. He keens.
“I’ll sit on the toilet.” You think he actually Is being serious.
"C'mon, Remus. You're tired." You kiss his cheek. "I'll shower and then make us some soup or something." Then his other cheek and his top lip. He chases you blindly when you pull back.
"You've just finished work. You shower and I'll make dinner, yeah?"
You sigh. You don't think you'll win with him. "You sure? It won't take me long."
"I don't mind." He kisses like you wished you would've. Slow and warm against your mouth until you're hiccuping a gaspy sound that makes Remus want to cry.
"You're unbelievable," you sigh.
"I know."
It takes you an hour before you convince Remus to let you shower.

Harry would have been a Daddy’s boy this. Harry would have been a Mommy’s boy this.
No. He would have 100% been Regulus’ boy. Harry would be obsessed with being like his papa. Especially since he would be the only one of this parents that wasn’t biologically related to him.
Like picture little Harry following him around while he gets his ingredients ready and Reg letting him help brew basic safe potions.
Harry try to tame his hair to look more like Reg and treating his word like its law.
Ex
Sirius: *yells/vague insults a house elf*
Harry: Papa said they don’t like being yelled at either
Sirius: well your Papa is a smelly loser
Harry: NO YOU TAKE THAT BACK TAKE IT BACK TAKE IT BACK
Sirius: SORRY, sorry you are James boy alright no else like Reg that much
Lily: i don’t know i think i like him well enough *rubs her pregnant belly* i mean i am carrying his baby
James: Well he tried get me pregnant but it wouldn’t take *rubs his own belly*
Sirius: all of you disgust me *leans into Remus*

I believe Snape is autistic
(FYI: I’m autistic myself and I have autistic children.)
He’s lonely. He doesn’t really have friends. We know of Lily, we also hear about Lucius Malfoy, but we don’t really see their friendship which in my opinion is much less close than fans believe. As a student he’s so alone that no one but Lily tries to stop the bullying.
He doesn’t participate in any social meetings. He’s quite miserable during the Christmas in Harry’s third year. He patrols the corridors and the grounds instead of attending the Yule Ball. He doesn’t stay for dinner after the Order meetings. He only attends the DE meetings because he has to.
His peers at school think he’s weird. Lily’s friends from Gryffindor don’t understand why she’s friends with him. When Harry asks why the Marauders bullied him, Sirius says he was different, weird, he was an "oddball". Autistic children and teenagers are often bullied because they are perceived as not normal, awkward, weird.
He doesn’t make a normal eye contact, he stares a bit too much. It can be partly explained by Legillimency, but he stared too much even as a teenager.
There’s a difference between how he speaks as a teenager and as an adult. It doesn’t sound entirely natural, he definitely had to put effort into that. It’s partly because he doesn’t want to sound like a poor man with a northern (?) accent, but autistic struggle with fluent communication may also be a reason.
He insists on precise definitions: Legilimency is not mind-reading, ghosts are not transparent but they are imprints of departed souls. He’s irritated that Harry has "no subtlety" and he doesn’t "understand fine distinctions".
He’s quite rude. He might be just *evil*, but he may just not fully understand how cruel he actually sounds. From his point of view he’s just honest and doesn’t beat around the bush. OK, maybe he’s a little mean, but not cruel… right?
He uses sarcasm (a lot of autistics actually do), but he doesn’t really appreciate Harry’s and other people’s sass, he treats their words too seriously.
He usually speaks coldly / calmly / without much emotion.
He’s usually dispassionate, he has limited facial expressions. Many autistic people also have a "resting b!tch face" unless they try to look more "normal". Perhaps he isn’t always as hateful as Harry thinks, perhaps it’s just his face.
He seems a little oblivious to other people’s emotional state and seems to analyse their behavior more intellectually.
He has special interests: Dark Arts / DADA and Potions.
He has his own collection of Potions ingredients, including rare ones, collection of weird jars (I guess they may contain some Potions ingredients, but also he may like them because of visual stimming aspect) and vast collection of books at home.
His Potions ingredients must be very orderly, he knows immediately that something is missing and what it is.
He "loves" rules. Students are breaking the rules? He takes points or gives detention. The Marauders are bullying him? He wants them expelled. (While Harry deals with the bullies on his own.) He’s caught Sirius whom he believes to be responsible for Lily’s death? He’s going to hand him over to the Ministry and the Dementors. (While Sirius and Remus want to murder Peter themselves.)
Since Snape likes rules and order, Harry who is a bit wild and unpredictable annoys him.
He doesn’t wash his hair as often as he should. It could be partly because of his poor background (he was neglected, he wasn’t taught to take a proper care of his hair, he didn’t even have a real bathroom as a child), partly because he has no one to look nice for, partly because of the Potions fumes. Autism might make him care less about his appearance. (He does care about hygiene though. Apparently he shaves regularly and Harry would certainly notice if Snape was dirty or smelly. His sallow skin and teeth have nothing to do with hygiene, it’s a result of his poverty and malnutrition.)
He stimms: He’s shredding leaves as a child. He’s flexing his fingers after the Shrieking Shack incident. During the Occlumency lessons he’s touching his lips with his finger while he’s thinking.
He has some sensory issues. He wears the same, a little baggy robes (they flutter as he walks). He’s sensitive to light: his Potions classroom is dim (it’s in the dungeons, but he could brighten it up with magic); he makes his DADA classroom dim, even though it’s no longer in the dungeons; when Harry comes to his first Occlumency lesson, Snape waits for him in a dark room. (You know, people don’t do things like that because they’re evil, it doesn’t make sense).
As a teenager he walks "like a spider" and generally he isn’t good at sports (we see him on a broom three times: in a memory of his unsuccessful flying lesson at school, being very pale and probably frightened after refereeing the Quidditch match in PS and trying to curse a DE and missing during the Battle of Seven Harrys).
John Nettleship whom Snape was partly based on was probably autistic.

could you write a friends go lovers thing where remus sees the reader at a halloween party but her costume is hella short and stuff so a bunch of guys are tryna get her attention/already have it
All that Remus offers is a gruff, "Emergency" as he drags you away from the man you're speaking to; Jason, you think?
"I'm sorry!" You shout over the music, one hand cupped around your mouth and smudging the heart-shaped blush on your cheek, "I'll talk to you later!"
Though, as Remus slams the heavy door behind him after guiding you out into the backyard, you're not sure you will.
"So?" You bounce on the balls of your feet, eager to hear the news, "What's the emergency?"
"I was lonely," Remus supplies with a lazy grin, "'Needed some company."
"Remus John Lupin," You scold, mouth dropping in a dramatic display as your hands ball into fists at your sides, "You're awful! I was talking to him, you know."
"I know," He confirms, stuffing his hands in his pockets. You'd insisted that he go in costume, but he hadn't been too fond of your idea.
"Really?" Remus stares at you with an unimpressed glare, furry abomination in hand, "A werewolf?"
'It'll be funny," You insist, "Please?
So now here he stands, jacket thrown over his furry shoulders, yellow contacts in his eyes, and ears atop his head.
"Why don't you talk to that lifeguard over there?" You point to a woman in red shorts short enough that you could see her slim underwear beneath them, "I saw her ogling you earlier."
"No thanks," Remus grumbles, instead catching the eyes of a man he'd seen ogling you earlier, and noting that they were downcast towards your short skirt, "Here, um, wanna smoke?"
He shifts in front of you so that he's standing between you and the sliding glass door. It means that none of the, no pun intended, wolves inside can undress you with their eyes. You don't notice, though, eyes shining at the offer.
"Yes please," You eagerly nod, chest shaking with the vigor of your movements. It means that your tits bounce in your shirt that barely holds them, and Remus focuses on digging through his pockets so that he doesn't jump you.
His lighter is buried beneath his headphones, and he digs it out with mild difficulty. He sets a joint between your pretty, freshly-manicured fingers, holding your hand in his as he lights it.
"First go," He nudges your hand towards you, the cold from the sliding glass door seeping through his costume and chipping away at his bones. You eagerly take a drag, though it's been a while since you smoked with Remus, and it shows.
Your eyes grow wide and watery and your chest heaves. You break into a coughing fit that shakes your chest even more, tits nearly flying out of your shirt. Remus feels like every man inside when he lets himself watch, but pats you on your back nonetheless. He feels only the fabric of your shirt between him and your skin, though; you're not wearing a bra.
"Gimme," He huffs, yanking your hand up to his lips while you recover from your intense coughing fit. He inhales hard enough to burst his lungs, and it's semi-intentional when he lets it out into your face.
"Remmy," You blink rapidly, swatting away at the smelly smoke, "You're gonna make me choke again."
"Sorry, dovey," He drawls, but with one glance down at your fit-to-burst chest, he's not, "If you cough one more time I think your costume'll slide right off."

Word Count: 3k
Pairing: Young!Severus Snape x Fem!Reader
Warning: Mentions of bullying and angst
English is not my native language, so I apologize for any mistake and if you can help me improve it, I will greatly appreciate it. I hope you enjoy it :D
Tumblr media
Severus just waited for someone to hear his calls for help, someone who truly cared about his existence in the world and made sure of his absence during meals in the Great Hall or classes he shared with his classmates from the same year who belonged to the house of snakes or badgers, but the passing of the hours showed without any shame that his hope was a lie that he had created for himself so as not to suffer from the anxiety caused by the situation in which he found himself for having run into with certain Gryffindors who couldn't bear to see him at school; the simple fact of remembering the bright look of James Potter that, reflected in his glasses, showed amusement and malice by wanting to "play" with him caused a great current of chills to run through his entire body again and he felt even colder than the one he had felt over the last few hours where the lack of his cloak and his wand had made it impossible for him to escape the torture he had put himself through.
Having left his last morning class before lunch, Charms, he had run into the quartet he always had to hide from and they, determined to have some fun with their "friend", sought the most original way to torment the Slytherin so, with a vote in which Remus Lupine did not participate because of his friend Potter's childish way of showing his jealousy, the three remaining members of The Marauders decided to shove Severus out of his long coat and snatch his wand before locking him in one of the many cabinets in the castle that, for obvious reasons, was of no interest to any of the students. No one wanted to hide in a cramped, cold, smelly little room containing the mop bucket, and no one would consider that someone could be locked in there, much less if one of those people was Severus Snape.
The young Slytherin had listened, over the hours, to the innumerable scampers of each of the Hogwarts students and, although at first, he had pounded on the thick wooden door that separated him from freedom, he had finally decided to abandon his attempts to leave when he was sure no one would hear him. If he yelled for help while there was no one in the halls and everything was completely silent, no one would listen to him, and if he yelled for help while everything was packed with students and teachers, they would not hear him because of the huge crowd and the innumerable voices that could be heard from anywhere in the huge castle.
In either case, he was doomed.
A vague hope kept him alert, thinking that maybe James would open the door for him and return his belongings once they were tired of keeping him in the closet, but, that same small flame that had caused him to look with bright eyes towards the door. It slowly faded as he was able to make out the sunlight slowly disappearing as he looked at the small crack in the keyhole, having been his only source of illumination, finally engulfing himself in darkness. It was at that precise moment that he gave up.
Someone might or might not find him, but he was sure that tonight he would be completely alone in the janitor's closet.
The teenager, tired of having been standing for several hours and feeling how the muscles of his legs were slowly going to sleep, finally sat down on the frozen rocky floor of the room, bringing his long limbs close to his chest and hugging them to the side knee height, trying to stay in a fetal position to prevent the cold from penetrating his emaciated body. Without the usual tunic that he could wear as protection against the cold, the huge cloak that had been provided as an accessory that he could have used as a blanket or his determined wand that could have made him cast some kind of charm to make him leave the little room or having created a small fire, he could only rely on the thin off-white shirt he had worn all day to protect him from the cold.
« Hopefully, I will have symptoms of hypothermia once they find me here. »
That thought did nothing but sadden the boy's afflicted heart.
He couldn't believe how lonely he was from the moment he insulted Lily so vilely, and just thinking about her made him feel disgusted for himself. He had had a wonderful, sweet, loving girl by his side, and he had ruined everything because of James Potte and his gang of brainless assholes, even if deep down he admitted that it was all because of his big mouth and the way he was abrupt that he had to express what he thought or felt, and, although he was aware that the redhead might have been never going to reciprocate his feelings for the news that he had recently begun a relationship with the bespectacled teenager who was so loved at Hogwarts at least he had hoped to keep her by his side as a friend, as always, everything had to be ruined.
Suddenly, the quick footsteps of someone from outside brought Severus back to reality, brushing his bangs from his face and putting his ear close to the door to listen properly and make sure if it was an auditory hallucination or not, but it was the shoes. nearby which made him feel his heart beating again.
"I'm here!"
He yelled, pounding on the door. The footsteps began to get closer.
"Get me out of here!"
He exclaimed, hitting the wooden barrier with his open hand. The heels made him understand that a girl was approaching, possibly Lily, who had noticed her absence at dinner.
"I am Severus Snape. I am here!"
Suddenly, a few centimetres from the door, the footsteps stopped, resounding again to begin to move away from the room.
The Slytherin felt like a real fool to think that, by mentioning his name, the person who had come to help him had withdrawn. He was possibly one of Potter's friends or some other student who didn't want to appear to be on the opposite side of Gryffindor, but it wasn't until a few minutes later that he was sure someone had heard him.
Through a small hole, which was next to the lowest hinge of the dilapidated door, a small and hairy face appeared, curiously moving its aquiline nose quickly while the fine and semi-transparent whiskers that decorated it went up, and they descended to the rhythm of the breathing of the adorable little animal that, confused by the calls of the young boy, had managed to reach the small room where the adolescent was. The teenager expected the presence of anyone, but not something like that.
Severus, confused by the appearance of that little furry ball that he was unable to distinguish correctly in the dark, managed to remember how he had managed to see each of the Marauders turn into animals when they tried to play a trick on him so that they would see the true form of Lupin in the light of a full moon, frowning sharply as he remembered how Pettigrew's animal form was a rodent. He hadn't been able to see it up close, he wasn't even able to tell how big he was because of how far away he was from the other student, but he was able to make out that long pink tail anywhere.
"You came to laugh at me, right?" Snape questioned, getting up slowly from the ground as he felt a strange tingling in his legs due to their falling asleep. His hands, previously relaxed, were now clenched into fists that, because of the force, had turned his knuckles completely white. "You've come here so you can tell Potter that 'Whiner' is crying like a first-year, but here I am, perfectly fine and not sniffling like you might have expected him to be."
The little mouse, confused by the words coming from the Slytherin, cocked his head slightly to one side, scratching the back of his left ear before bristling completely when he realized that a huge shadow was hanging over him and that Severus, fed up from the teasing of his companions and wishing to put an end to that feeling of suffering that had devastated him for several hours, he had decided to step on the rodent that had sneaked into the room to hurt him, thus creating a situation really funny between the two. The small animal, scared and faster, managed to dodge each of the attacks that the student launched in his direction. While it was true that attempts to crush, or catch, the rodent began to be futile, it was Slytherin's pent-up anger that caused his face to turn a bright reddish hue and his breathing to start to get heavier. He was angry, and seeing the little ball of fur move to escape unscathed from his attacks made him feel worse and worse to the point where he ended up kicking him out of the room through the same hole he had entered with a strong kick, hitting the door hard with the skin in the process.
Once again alone in the small space that the room had, he allowed himself to lean his lanky figure against the door and let himself fall slowly until he sat down on the floor again, realizing then that small and salty tears had promptly come out of his eyes once. Once he had seen the mouse and they had already stained his cheeks, making him suppose that it had been the dire memories of the constant teasing of Potter and his friends that made him act that way with the little animal that wasn't even Peter; now that he could allow himself to think coldly he had realized that a rat was not so small and that it couldn't fit through that small hole.
Before the Slytherin sank back into his thoughts, he felt a soft caress run down his right leg and arm on the same side, finally noticing how his shoulder had a slight weight that made him turn his head so he could see that, above on his shoulder was the same furry figure that a few minutes before had stormed out the door, this time watching him with such intensity that he could swear those black eyes could read his soul and could penetrate his deepest memories in a way that not even Legilimency could.
"Get out," he muttered, raising his left hand to try to catch the little rodent, being teased as he felt it crawl up his hair to escape his attempted grasp. "Please, go away."
Severus' short, feeble pleas elicited no reaction from the mouse.
"I'm not in the mood, go away."
The animal perched again on the dark-haired man's shoulder with an agile jump, approaching his face with short steps until it was placed on two legs to be able to touch the boy's pale cheek with its small front hands, feeling on them how wet they were because of the silent crying that he had not even realized had started, thus surprising the rodent who hadn't expected to have that reaction from the Slytherin.
Severus, tired of the rodent, ended up inadvertently pushing it away with an unexpected slap, seeing how the small ball of fur fell sideways to the ground and screeched slightly from the fall and the impact on the stony ground, making the student feel worse. He didn't think it had been so abrupt. He settled back into the fetal position, the same way he had done countless times at home or school when something really bad happened to him, and he sought solace in himself not knowing where else to turn, mostly out of fear to be laughed at or there was no one willing to help him, hiding his face in his arms as he continued his silent crying.
The field mouse, who had come to the room because of the calls for help, looked at the boy's hurt and dark face, barely being able to distinguish something from him, feeling a strong pinch in his chest that made him shake to try to fix his fur because of the fall to later climb the boy's long leg until it reached his knees, grabbing some of the dark locks to make the student turn his gaze towards him, getting it after making several attempts. Snape slowly raised his head until part of his face was unearthed, being able to see perfectly close up the little mouse that quickly placed its small front paws on his nose as a support and quickly moved the whiskers near his nose to tickle him, getting him in The teen's gaunt face broke into a soft smile.
"Thank you," he whispered.
Suddenly, the rodent's ears began to move quickly in various directions, dropping to the ground from the boy's knees to get out of the room and, although Severus had been confused by how quickly it had gone, he was exceedingly surprised when he finally heard quick footsteps approaching his position and opening the door of the room in which he had been locked, meeting the curious and surprised look of Minerva McGonagall, who did not understand the reason why a student would be there.
The next morning, after Severus had given a long report on the attitudes that Potter and his friends had had towards him, he finally felt that everything was back to normal, feeling much calmer for having been able to rest in the comfort of his bedroom, but with a strange feeling of discomfort at being stripped of his wand and robes that James denied having stolen. The head of the lion house searched various parts of the room of the boy and his friends, denying having found what Snape had lost, so the boy was forced to wait for them to do some kind of reconnaissance throughout the house of the Gryffindors until they found the whereabouts of his belongings.
It was a new day, completely sunny as it had been for the past week with the arrival of spring, and Snape had settled into one of the huge trees nearest the Black Loch in the early hours of the morning while he comfortably read one of the books whose syllabus was too important due to the upcoming exam that would take place in a few days; he was too engrossed in his reading, but it was the sudden arrival of a certain light brown rodent that made him smile for the first time that day.
He was sure it was that little mouse that had accompanied him the night before.
"I'm glad to see you," he murmured, carefully taking the animal before gently caressing it with one of his fingers, avoiding exerting too much pressure so as not to hurt it. Those dark eyes reminded her of the events of the night before, and reflexively his smile faltered and he shrugged as a deep blush settled on the tip of his nose and under his eyes. "I wanted to apologize for my behaviour. I don't think you can understand me, but it was stress and other things that made me act that way. I am sorry."
Severus almost thought he saw the little mouse smile, but it wasn't until he saw a young woman appear above him that he was finally surprised.
Your tall figure, hovering over her person and with a brilliant smile that illuminated her pale face much more than the sun, was the reason for her sudden shock, because he had not expected such an adorable little animal to be you, the young and famous Hufflepuff who had blown up every cauldron in the potions room and on her first day at Hogwarts had caused a fire in her common room by trying to turn water into wine.
"I forgive you, Sev," you said with emotion, moving away from him to give him some space. "Everything is forgotten."
Your animated words were accompanied by various movements that surprised and confused him, seeing how you searched in the small bag that you carried with you the enormous robe with elements of the colour of his house that belonged to him and the long blackish wand with strange patterns on its base that they made him realize that, in some way or another, you had managed to find him; he didn't want to question how you could have stolen all that, but then he understood why McGonagall didn't find his belongings in the Marauders' rooms.
"All of that is mine," he murmured, pointing to his garment and his wand.
"Indeed, my friend," you affirmed, holding out his belongings before taking a seat next to him, taking the book from him to see that he was reading. "Ugh, potions."
Severus couldn't help but gaze in fascination at his belongings, being able to make out your fragrance on his jacket once he put it on, turning his gaze from him to meet yours, noticing how his cheeks were suddenly beginning to heat up.
You, as you watched your fellow Slytherin turn his head to look at his own hands, couldn't help but smile warmly in his direction, feeling your heart pump harder and harder, just like he did, when you saw the bright blush slowly appearing on the tips of his ears.

*Roman and Remus are at a bar and are drunk, then they decided a idea that Thomas should make*
Remus: Okay, So his name is Smelly The Clown, and he is a clown, and he stinks.
Roman: And that's all he does is stink! Like regular clown shoes squeak, but when Smelly walks, it sounds like this.
*Roman making fart noises with his tongue, Remus laughs out loud*
Remus: And when he shows up to kids parties, He say's "Hey Kids! I was gonna make balloon animals. But instead... I brought this plate of Sh*t!*
Roman: Oh my god, we gotta use actual human kids!
*Roman and Remus laugh*
Roman: Listen, I know everytime We come up with an idea like this, we end up not doing it, but Smelly The Clown, We gotta do that!
*The very next day, Roman and Remus are back in Thomas' house*
Roman: We can't do that.
Remus: Yeah, We cannot do Smelly The Clown... You just wanna do a Top ten list?
Roman: Great, how about uh, "Top ten Disney movies?"
Remus, synching out: Whatever, I don't care.

I'm just so new at being a Marauders fan, two and a half months into this sad, angsty bullshit, and I still have to connect some dots.
Today's realization doze happened exactly five seconds ago, because;
Sirius spent his birthday, on November 2nd, 1981 after two days in Azkaban. With no one he loves around.
James and Lily dead, Peter deadly gone, Remus dead inside, and Sirius losing his shine, falling down as a dead star.
Now imagine him muttering constantly why he killed his only family, only for Bellatrix, next to his cellar, to whisper "I know you didn't do it."
I love to imagine them having a "nice childhood" together, only to be separated because of their parents' beliefs.
Imagine Sirius all dead inside, in a rotting, smelly prison, with his long ago evil turned cousin next to him, trying to awaken his shine again. Because Sirius cannot die, one of her favorite little Black.

I feel like Hedwig and Sirius would be BFFs
wouldn’t it be the best!!!!’ there’s already many who theorise sirius was like. an animal whisperer. wouldn’t take much to get the lil snowy over on his side.
i like to think—in the beginning, hedwig would only squint at him suspiciously, unsure of this strange smelly man near her boy. but it’s when she realises how devoted s is to harry that she softens. the first time she lets sirius pet her feather w/o nipping at him was properly celebrated. (remus watched on enviously bc hedwig literally always, without fail, divebombs him when he’s near)

The crowd cheered as the Quarterback, James Potter caught the football, throwing it over to Sirius Black; the Wide Receiver. He jumped into the air with a massive smile on his face, catching the ball in his arms; before making a bee-line to the end zone. The crowd was on its feet in an instant and roared even louder. You jumped as best as you could in your giant mascot suit, cheering as your team scored. You were the mascot called Wolfy the Wolverine Wizard. Basically, for each game, you suited up in the smelly costume for a couple of hours; dancing and hyping up the crowd. Which, you were surprisingly good at. In school, outside of the mascot suit, you were shy; and honestly, a bookworm. But, being hidden inside that suit gave you the courage and power to be more 'out there' as your parents would say it.
You didn't care for football too much, but the offer to be the mascot... You couldn't say no. The principal, Mr. Dumbledore, said they would pay you... Twenty-four dollars an hour. More than you honestly made in a week at your part-time job at your aunt's flower shop. On top of the good pay, you found out that they give out amazing scholarships to those who were high school mascots... Lucky you. And honestly, you did get used to the sweaty smell that aerated the suit, and the darkness that constantly engulfed you. The only light you got was from the cartoonish mouth of the Wolverine you dressed as. Which, you thought, was quite cute in its purple wizard robe. It even had little stars on it.
As the game continued, your team would only need a few more points to win, and you were excited to get the suit off and go home. You really wanted to go home and do your homework before you kicked back and watched your favorite tv show. But, you quickly had to snap out of your daydream, swiftly getting back into character; skipping sideways across the sidelines, trying to hype up the crowd. Waving your large fuzzy paws, you were able to get the crowds on the many bleachers to start the wave. A proud accomplishment.
Stomping your heavy feet and clapping your hands, you and the crowd chanted "Go, Go, Wolverines," as the play continued. You watched for the briefest of moments, watching as James got tossed the ball. James Potter was the most popular kid in all of Rowena High School. You remembered in Freshman year he used to be a ladies' man before he met his current girlfriend, Lily Evans. Ever since then, he never flirted or gave another girl at the school a second glance. You thought he was kind of whipped for the redhead.
And then there was Remus Lupin. He was Coach Hooch's assistant, he came up with most of the plays, being a little genius. In school, he was always carrying a book with him or a clipboard. He wasn't as popular as James, but he was still friends with him. Remus was actually an acquaintance of yours. Having three classes with him, you thought he was sweet and smart; also having been paired up for most of your projects. He gave the best book recommendations.
There was also Peter Pettiegrew, the third member of their little group. He was less popular than Remus, and he was always a bit awkward. You did feel bad for him though. He did get bullied a lot, some people around the school called him 'Wormtail.' You tried to talk with him, befriend him, but he’d always try and avoid you, making up excuses for where he needed to be. You gave up after a while, you didn’t want to make him uncomfortable.
And, lastly, the fourth and last member of The Marauders, as they called themselves, was Sirius Black. Now, he was the second most popular guy at your school. Sirius was charming, witty, funny, and not-to-mention a ladies' man. (You even knew his cousin, she was kind of a loner and a frantic shopper at Hot Topic; you didn’t really hang with her and her bad crowd). For your three and a half years of high school at Rowena High... You had seen Sirius with a lot of girls. It was like he always had a girl on his arm, or pinning them to their locker, or sneaking off, and skipping classes. His girl problems were almost as bad as the constant pranking problems he'd have with James. He was annoying to you, to say the least. But, as annoying as he was, you couldn’t ignore how handsome he was. Though, out of the four boys, you'd rather be stuck on an island with Remus. At least with him, he'd probably know how to get off the thing.
Before you knew it, the crowd was going wild. Your team won! You watched as the team lifted Sirius into the air on their shoulders, cheering and chanting his name. Letting him down, he was smiling so widely it looked painful, holding a trophy in his hand. He was laughing as the rest of the students rushed towards him. They were all hugging, congratulating him. As the cheering died down, you stayed back as most of the crowd and team left to go inside. You let out a sigh, heading your way to the empty bleachers to sit down. It was nice to finally take a break after so long, but it was so worth it. Letting out another sigh, you reached up to lift the mascot's head off of you, finally breathing in some good ol' fresh air. You blinked your eyes at the abusive light as your eyes adjusted before you set your mascot's head on the ground.
"I didn't realize you were a girl," You heard a voice speak up, surprising you and making you whip around. Sirius Black stood a few feet away, still in his football gear, but his helmet under his arm. "Or pretty." He finished, giving you a grin as you turned away, fighting the blush that would gradually make its way to your face.
"Thank, I guess." You muttered, "And, yes... I'm a girl. Not all mascots are guys." You rolled your eyes as Sirius shook his head, chuckling lightly.
"No... I didn't mean it in a bad way... Uh, I just didn't know you were a girl is all." He responded, scratching the back of his neck nervously as you shrugged the best you could.
"I'm not offended," You assured him, standing straight again, "It's cool.
"Cool, cool, cool…” Sirius stared at you briefly before snapping out of his gaze, “Uh, I actually wanted to know how you did that cartwheel. You know, with the mascot's head and all." Sirius asked, as you grabbed the mascot's head and stood up.
"Magic. Now, if you'll excuse me... I need to get home. Uh... Good game." You gave him a small smile before heading off to the school.
Sirius watched as you left, feeling slightly disappointed. He really liked you. And couldn’t believe he never bumped into you in the halls or anything. How did he miss a girl like you? Maybe we could ask you out sometime. Letting out a sigh, Sirius walked over to Remus, who was helping clean up.
"Hey, Moony, who's the girl in the mascot costume?" He asked his friend, wanting to know your name; hoping Remus knew who you were considering he was the Coach Assistant.
Remus looked up from what he was doing, "Oh, Y/N? Yeah, her name is Y/N. Why? Are you going to try and ask her out too?" Remus asked, pausing what he was doing to cross his arms, "'Cause it's not going to work."
Sirius raised an eyebrow, "Really? Why? She seems like a nice girl."
Remus sighed, shaking his head, "Yeah, she is a nice girl... But that's not the problem here. You are a ladies' man, a casanova, if you will. Y/N is a smart girl... She won't fall for you." He sighed once more, “And honestly, we all know you get tired of her and dump her. Like all the other girls you’ve dated.”
Sirius rolled his eyes, ignoring Remus’s last comment, and adjusting his helmet in his gloved hands, "Girls love me, everyone loves me!" He exclaimed as Remus gave him a deadpan look.
"I don't love you and that Snape kid doesn't love you. I bet more than eighty percent of people at this school hate you. Especially Mrs. McGonagall since you pranked her and cheated on her test in Sophomore year. Which, by the way, if you want to even have the slightest chance with this girl... Cut the pranks and the bullying. She's friends with Snape."
Sirius sputtered out a laugh, "Snivellus? She's friends with that loser?"
Remus sighed, "You're hopeless."
Sirius huffed before he headed back into the school and the locker rooms. With a pep in his step, Sirius began to plan how to ask you out. He was confident that you would say yes. Of course, you would, he was Sirius Black.
~~~
"He talked to you?" Severus asked, shocked before his wide eyes narrowed and he gave the ground a judgemental look. "I hate that guy." He muttered, before turning to you beside him on the bench. "You can't talk to him. He's no good. You know what they do to me." Severus practically pleaded, as you nodded and gave him a small sigh.
"Yeah, yeah, I know. But I couldn't not answer his compliment."
Severus was one of your best friends. You had met him on the first couple of days of Freshman year. Severus was a small, shy guy, eyes always on the ground and head down. He was smart though, which you quickly found out in class. You had noticed that Severus usually worked alone and didn't really talk to anyone, so you decided to talk to him. It was a rough start, but as the weeks went by, Severus grew to trust you. Soon enough, you were hanging out whenever you could; at lunch, studying, free hours... You trusted Severus with your life.
And you trusted his word and honored his opinion. You knew what James and Sirius usually did to Severus. Pranking and overall bullying. It was terrible in Freshman year, getting intense at times before it slowly fizzled out in Senior year. Yes, sometimes they called him names and stuff like that. But at least they weren’t giving him wedgies anymore. You grew to dislike James and Sirius. Mostly James, for he was the leader of the bullying. And Sirius, the leader of the pranks.
Severus looked up at you, bewildered once more, "He complimented you? That... That idiot."
"What?" You asked, glancing up from your sketchbook, "Why can't he compliment me? It was harmless." You shrugged and Severus huffed, kicking his beat-up black converse in the dirt.
"What did he say?" Severus asked softly, begrudgingly.
"He said that I was pretty." You answered simply, Severus immediately groaned after you finished, tilting his head back before he hunched over; raking his hands through his hair. You narrowed your own eyes, "What? Am I not deserving of a kind compliment?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No... You do deserve a good compliment. It's just the person who gave you the compliment is the problem." Severus sighed deeply, frustratedly, as he sat up and looked at you. "You have to avoid him, Y/N/N. He's a playboy. You know it."
You nodded, finishing your sketch of the flowers a few feet from you. "Yeah, I know. I know he's trouble." You shut your sketchbook, sliding your pencil in the coils of it. "But... Who knows..." You stood up, grabbing your backpack as the bell rang. "He might’ve changed his ways…"
Severus's eyes widened comically wide as he stumbled to stand and make his way up to you, matching your walking pace as he struggled to adjust the backpack straps on his shoulders. "You won't." Severus gasped, and you hummed, grinning lightly.
"No... Sev... I won't. And I won't speak to him or seek him out..." Severus sighed in relief, "Unless I have to." You finished as you headed off to class, waving goodbye to your friend.
~~~
Sliding your books into your locker, you slammed it closed with a sigh as you locked it, turning to head down the corridor; you jumped back. Standing before you was Sirius Black, a grin on his face, and his hands firmly stuffed into the pockets of his black jeans. You stared up at him, shifting in your spot as his grin widened. "Hi," You breathed out.
"Hey." He replied, moving his hand onto the lockers, leaning against him as he looked down at you. "How are you?" He questioned, causing you to give him an amused smile.
"I'm good, and also late to class. So... If you'll excuse me." You stepped around him, heading to class as Sirius jogged to catch up with you.
"Well, I won't keep you long, Y/N. Just want to ask you something." He spoke and you paused, looking up at him with a raised eyebrow.
"How do you-" You hummed, realization dawning over your features as you smiled, "Oh... Remus told you who I am?" And Sirius nodded.
"Yeah, anyway. Wanna go out sometime?" He asked, causing you to blink in surprise.
"Me?" You repeated, confused; surprised. Looking at Sirius, you cursed him and his good looks. Why did he have to be so handsome? No, Y/N, don't fall for his tricks.
"Yes, you. On a date with me." Sirius nodded again with a smirk, wiggling his eyebrows.
You scoffed, shaking your head. "I don't think so. If you don't know... Mr. Sirius..." You glared up at him, "You bully my best friend."
You started off back down the hall. Sirius's mouth opened and closed in surprise before he rushed back over to you.
"Listen, I'm sorry about what I've done to Sniv-" You turned to give him a hard glare, quickly shutting him up. "S... Snape." He finished, making you raise an eyebrow skeptically.
"I'm not the one you should be apologizing to, Sirius." You scolded, causing him to gulp nervously, his brown eyes wide. You stared up at him, inspecting his face, features, and overall expression, before sighing, shaking your head, and heading to class once more.
"Y/N, wait!" Sirius called, running to catch up to you. He reached out and held onto your arm, turning you around slightly. "Look, what can I do?"
You stared at him, confused more than ever. You knew Sirius always got a girl on his arm, it was almost too easy for him to grab a date. Every girl in that school worshiped him. Why was he so desperate to go on a date with you? You didn't like it. Either it was some sick prank or... Maybe he just liked the chase. With a frown on your face, you shook your head. "There is nothing you can do." You mumbled before continuing on your walk. Sirius watched you leave until you disappeared around the corner, sighing.
~~~
"I don't know what to do. She wants nothing to do with me." Sirius basically whined, pushing his food around on his tray. Meatloaf. Sirius hated meatloaf.
Remus sighed heavily, rolling his eyes as he put his fork down. "You must stop being such a drama queen, Sirius. You cannot force her to like you."
“Crimes against humanity.” Peter muttered, eating his lunch.
Sirius huffed, resting his hand under his chin, and slouching in his seat. "I'm not a drama queen. I just don't get it. I thought she'd say yes."
Remus paused his eating to stare at Sirius, narrowing his eyes as he analyzed him. Remus noticed the sad, longing look in Sirius's eyes, the way his shoulders slumped as he gazed off into space. ‘Space’ as in staring across the lunchroom at you. Remus narrowed his eyes further, his lips pressing together tightly. "Sirius," He called softly, snapping the other boy out of whatever trance he had been in. "Are you... Do you like her?" His question gained Peter's and James's attention as well.
Sirius huffed indignantly, glaring at his best friend. "Of course I do... I did ask her out."
Remus rolled his eyes, "No, I mean, do you like her?"
Sirius looked at Remus, confused, "Why would I ask her out if I didn't like her?" He asked, causing Remus to sigh again.
"That isn't what I meant, Sirius."
Peter cleared his throat, "He means to say, do you fancy her?"
Sirius's eyes widened, before he cast his eyes down to his tray, clearing his throat. Suddenly the large room felt hot and Sirius's face began to flush, the tip of his ears red. James watched in awe before he slammed his hand on the lunch table with a laugh. "Ha! Sirius is in love!" He exclaimed, Sirius quickly covered James's mouth with his hand, shushing him violently.
"Shut it, Potter." He growled at his friend, pulling his hand away slowly. He looked at his friends, who all seemed rather impressed with how flustered Sirius had become. "I'm not... In love with her." He muttered, picking up a piece of bread and shoving it in his mouth.
"Really? Are you sure?" James continued to taunt him, smiling innocently.
"Shut. Up." Sirius snapped, his cheeks flushed as he glared at them.
"Sorry, but you are pretty red, Padfoot." Peter pointed out. Sirius rolled his eyes at that, taking another bite of his meal; ignoring Peter's words entirely.
~~~
Opening your locker, you paused, finding a rose sitting inside, tucked behind a piece of paper. Your eyes widened as you grabbed the note, unfolding it slowly, squinting as your eyes scanned over it.
'Roses are red, violets are blue, I'd really like to go on a date with you.'
You huffed, twisting the perfect red rose in your fingers as you closed your locker. Knowing exactly who gave you the wonderful rose, you sighed, rolling your eyes. You just hoped that Sirius would give up sooner rather than later.
The next day though was similar. You had found some chocolate M&Ms in your locker. And then the next, you found a small bear plush in your locker. You thought it was cute, a red bear with shiny black eyes. You named him Griffon. But, you weren't falling for it. Even though, for the next few weeks, Sirius left gifts in your locker everyday. From flowers, to snacks, to plushies.
Opening your locker three weeks later, you sighed, finding a small rectangular velvet box. For a moment, you freaked out but realized it was too big for an engagement ring. You huffed, chuckling to yourself. If Sirius had proposed, then he really was committed to convincing you.
"Y/N, uh, hey." You heard, turning to see Sirius beside you. He looked as he usually did, hand stuffed in his pockets, and the first two buttons of his black button-up undone. He looked almost nervous, which was odd for the usually confident boy.
"What are you doing here?" You asked, raising your eyebrow curiously.
"I wanted to talk to you." He replied with a shrug.
You shook your head, smiling awkwardly as you grabbed the most recent present from your locker before closing it. "It's too early for this. I'm going to class." You spoke as Sirius noticed the box in your hand.
"Do you like your gift?" He asked, giving you a small smile, eyes glancing at you, to the box, and back; eyeing you expectantly.
You looked at the box, "Uh, I haven't opened it yet." You looked back up at him. “And I have no idea how you keep breaking into my locker.” You muttered after.
"Oh, uh, it's a necklace. I thought you'd like it." He spoke up, “You know… Saw it and thought of you.” He muttered and you shook your head, shoving the box in his hands.
"Another reason why I don't need it." You shook your head, "Gifts won't magically make me say yes to a date with you, Sirius." You turned to go down the hall.
"What will?" He suddenly asked, gaining the attention of a few peers already in the hall as he called to you. "What can I do?"
You turned, shuffling in your spot as you adjusted your backpack strap on your shoulder. You pursed your lips, staring at the young man before you as you thought. You watched as Sirius stared back at you with his sad brown puppy eyes. Again, he seemed nervous, and anxious as he waited impatiently for your answer. You felt as if you were being pulled in two opposite directions. Your heart going one way and your brain going the other. Your eyes shifted down towards the floor. You couldn't help it. He had a really beautiful face. His dark hair was curly and grazed his shoulders. It suited him very much. Staring at his black hightop converse, you sighed. Scoffing you shook your head, upset with yourself.
"Apologize to Severus, stop calling him names, stop pranking him and other innocent people, stop bullying people in general, stop James from doing the same..." You ranted in one breath, breathing heavily as you ran a hand through your hand, frustratedly. Looking up, you look back up at Sirius, "And maybe... Maybe I'll go on that date with you." You finished quietly, looking away from him when you saw him smile. A blush formed on your cheeks before you turned around, and walked away from him.
Sirius watched as you left down the hall, watching you until you turned the corner and disappeared, leaving him standing alone in the hallway as the second bell rang. He smiled as he looked down at the velvet box in his hand before putting it in his pocket for a rainy day. Adjusting his collar, Sirius sighed, he'd have to man up and apologize to Severus. That was his only option after all.
~~~
Walking with Lily outside before school, you heard a lot of chatter, more than usual. Confused, both you and Lily gave each other a glance before you turned the corner and found Sirius standing before Severus. A circle of other students were around them as if a fight was going to break out. Looking around the circle, you noticed James, Remus, and Peter. You bit your lip, anxiety chilling you to the bone as you and Lily ran over, pushing past your peers to get inside. Lily went straight to James, slapping him on the arm as she began to scold him, while you went to stand next to Remus.
"What is he doing, Remus?" You asked, "Is he going-"
"Nothing bad, I don't think, Y/N." Remus interrupted you before glancing at you and giving you a shrug, "Sirius has been acting weird all morning." You turned back to watch Sirius and Severus. Concerned and beyond worried for your friend's safety. What was Sirius doing? Was running through your head.
"Yo!" A kid yelled from the circling crowd, "You gonna fight or what?!"
Not long after the kid's question, most of the crowd began to chant. "Fight! Fight! Fight!"
As they continued to chant, Sirius shook his head, "Shut up would you!" He turned around at the circle around him. "What is wrong with you all?"
It was deathly silent, everyone watching as Sirius stood in front of Severus and crossed his arms. Severus looked furious, glaring at Sirius, while a few kids backed away a step, before leaving entirely.
"What do you want, Black?" Severus sneered, "Haven't you tortured me enough?"
"I want to talk." He said simply. There was silence for a few moments, nobody speaking as Severus narrowed his eyes at Sirius.
"What do you mean you want to talk, Black?"
You stared at Sirius hard as he dug his heel into the grassy ground, hands deeply stuffed in his jean pockets. Taking a deep breath, he lifted his gaze towards Severus, eyes meeting the other boy's before he spoke again, his voice calm, but firm; full of conviction.
"I want to... Apologize."
There was dead silence once more. Severus glared back at him, his jaw clenching tightly. "Please, sure you do. This is just a joke, a prank." Severus spoke, sarcasm dripping from his tone.
"No, this isn't a joke." Sirius said firmly, staring at the other boy before turning back to stare at the group of students who were still gathered together in the middle of the field, "I am sorry."
Severus scoffed, shaking his head slightly, crossing his arms, "Well, I guess there's nothing left to be done about that then." With that, Severus turned, walking off as he muttered under his breath. The rest of the crowd began to disperse, dispersing into groups of friends that went inside the school. A sigh left you as you glanced over at Sirius, biting your lip.
"That was intense." Remus sighed, as Peter shrugged and left as well.
"Dude," James began, confused, "Why did you apologize to that los- Ow! I mean... That... Dude?" He asked, rubbing his arm where Lily punched him.
Sirius turned to his friends and you, "It was the right thing to do." He began as James scoffed. "Listen, we're adults. Pranking someone, bullying... It's very immature. We're better than that." Sirius stated, looking directly at James before continuing. "We're not children anymore, James. We can't act like children anymore."
James let out a breathy laugh, before glancing at you and back at Sirius, "Oh, I get it! You're whipped!" He laughed even louder this time, "Wow, mate, I thought my best friend could never love anyone that much."
"James!" Lily snapped, annoyed.
"Come on, leave them alone," Remus added.
You continued to stare at Sirius, mouth slightly agape as you tried to process what just happened. You were shocked and confused before realization dawned on you once more... Sirius was... Well, serious. He actually gave Severus an alright apology, and you understood why Severus didn't accept it. But... Maybe you were right. Maybe Sirius did change.
~~~
Running along the sidelines in your mascot suit, you hyped up the team during the before-prom game. The team was about to run in to start the game, going up against Durmstrang Institute, who had beaten your school three years in a row. But you were hopeful, for some reason.
Soon the team ran out, your school cheering as they ran in. Your eyes followed Sirius, number three, as he waved to the crowd. His eyes landed on you in your suit, giving you a personal wave before getting in position.
"Twenty-two, forty-three, seventy-five...-"
"Wait!" Sirius cried out, stopping the game before it even started. You and the crowd of students watched, perplexed as Sirius jogged over to Remus, grabbing a mic from him. Tapping the top of the mic, the sound echoed through the large speakers on the light poles of the field. You furrowed your eyebrows under the suit as you watched Sirius as he cleared his throat, "I'd like to take a moment to say something before the game," His head tilted downwards slightly, his fingers fidgeting with the edge of the microphone as he took another deep breath. "I met this girl... And she is the most amazing person I've ever met." He paused, taking a deep breath and releasing it slowly.
"She made me realize a lot of things about me and the way I run my life." He said quietly, a smile playing on his lips, causing his dimples to show. "She helped me become a better person." Your heart began to beat rapidly in your chest, a small smile appeared on your lips. Your mind began to wonder where this story was going. "And..." He breathed out, "I'd like to ask her a question." He swallowed, his face contorted by nervousness, before looking down. "Y/N… Will you go to Prom with me?" Silence filled the air as you stared at him, shock and disbelief painted across your features, ones no one could see.
Swallowing, you walked over onto the field and to Sirius. Reaching up, you pulled off the mascot's mask, revealing your beautiful face as you smiled at Sirius. "Yes," You told him, nodding your head enthusiastically.
His face instantly broke out into a smile, one that lit up his entire face as his eyes shined. Pulling you into a hug, he squeezed you as tight as he could over your mascot suit, causing the audience to cheer.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," Sirius muttered in your ear, not even minding your sweaty skin and hair. "I'll buy you ice cream. And a puppy. Do you want a puppy?" You couldn't help but chuckle as you placed your hands… Paws on his chest.
"Play the game." You ordered gently before grabbing your mascot's head. "Find me after the game, I'll give you my number."
"Deal." He winked, before putting on his helmet, knocking on the side of it before running back to his spot.
You headed back to the sidelines, going back to hyping the crowd as the game began. As you did your job, you watched the game, or watched Sirius, as much as you could. Your heart was racing still from his confession and question, and you felt giddy from happiness. You couldn't wait for Prom next Friday.
~~~
"What about this one, Sev?" You asked Severus who was beside you, arms crossed as you pointed to another dress.
"I can't believe you said yes to that jerk." Severus pouted, eyes cast to the ground of the small dress shop.
You sighed, letting go of the skirt of the green dress. "You saw what he did. He apologized. I know you don't trust him, but can you please pretend to be happy for me?" You begged, stepping closer to Severus, placing your hand on his shoulder as you looked up at him.
He stared at you, looking reluctant before letting out a soft sigh and nodding his head. "Alright, alright." He grumbled, holding up his hands as you smiled and hugged him. "I am happy for you, but I hate him." He mumbled against your cheek.
You chuckled as you pulled away, placing a quick kiss on his cheek. "Thank you, Sevy." You turned back to the dresses, walking slowly down the aisle, as Severus followed. "Did you ask anyone to prom? Or has anyone asked you?" You asked as you heard Severus sigh.
"Nope." He mumbled, "Don't want to go anyway. I have too much homework to do and I'm not interested in girls." You smiled softly as he rolled his eyes.
You shook your head, "No, you're only interested in Lily." You teased, causing Severus' face to turn bright red as he stuttered for words, trying to defend himself. "You've been crushing on her since I met you." You finished with a chuckle. You stopped, hand brushing against the fabric of another dress as you frowned slightly, "I wish your friendship with her didn't fall apart. But, what you said to her, and what she said to you... It's understandable. I just wish she could see how sweet you really are."
"Yeah. Me too." Severus sighed, his arms folded over his chest, "But it hurts when someone breaks your heart."
You nodded your head in agreement before your eyes landed on a dress. Rushing over, you took Severus by surprise as you grabbed his hand and dragged him along with you.
"Look at this one." You spoke, standing in front of the dress. "What do you think?"
"Uh... It's cute. Nice color, I think." Severus stated as you nodded, staring at the dress in awe.
"I'm gonna get this one." You stated, looking at Severus with determination before grabbing the dress and rushing towards the counter, "Excuse me, miss!" You called out as Severus watched you.
Even though he hated Sirius, Severus wanted you to be happy. And if you were happy, he was happy too.
~~~
In front of your mirror, you smoothed out the glittery tulle skirt, loving the way the navy blue dress looked on you. It was an evening gown, your mother called it, with a short v-neck, and short sleeves. The skirt flowed, swayed, and when you spun, it looked like a fairy tale come to life. You looked amazing like you knew you would. Slipping on your matching ankle-boot heels, you double and triple-checked your hair, before grabbing your small purse; making sure you had your phone and keys. Stepping out of your room, you headed down the stairs, your mother waiting for you at the bottom.
You gave her a small smile before looking nervously at the phone in her hands. "Just one, mom." You begged, "One picture.
She nodded, "Of course, dear. One picture of my little princess."
You groaned softly, "Mom."
"Stand up straight, okay maybe a little pose? Oh, you look beautiful." She ignored you, ordering you around for the picture. You simply stood, hands clasped together, wanting to get it over with. Clicking the button on her screen, she sighed, staring at her phone. "Thank you, now we can wait until your date arrives for the next one."
Your eyes widened as you rapidly shook your head, "No, mom, one pic. Aka, only me. I don't want you-"
"What?" Your mother asked, raising an eyebrow, "You don't want me to embarrass you?" You bit your lip as you hesitantly nodded. "Well," Your mother began, just as the doorbell rang, "That was what I was planning to do." She teased, before leaving the room.
"Mom!" You whispered-yelled as she walked over to the door. If your hair wasn't all done, you would've ran your hands through it as you heard your mother introducing herself to Sirius. Calming your racing heart and building up nerves, you turned the corner, spotting Sirius in the entranceway of your home, talking with your mother. You watched as Sirius glanced over at you, back to your mom, before quickly looking back over at you. freezing, Sirius turned to fully look at you, mouth slightly agape as he stared at you. He looked absolutely breathtaking as always, dapper in his black suit, and little bow tie.
Suddenly, you were being pulled out of your trance by your mother, "Y/n, darling," She whispered, "Go say hello, yeah? Don't be rude."
You cleared your throat, "Uh, hi." You greeted him, as he continued to stare at you in awe.
"You look perfect." He muttered loud enough for you to hear, making your cheeks flush in surprise.
"Oh! Thanks, you look really good too. Very nice. Very good." You inwardly cringed. You wanted the ground to swallow you up.
Your mother sighed, before she nudged you towards Sirius, "You two have fun, alright? Bring her home before ten." She instructed before heading further into the house.
The awkward silence between you two only lasted a moment or two before a small smile formed on Sirius's face, "Shall we go?"
"Yeah," You replied softly, following him outside. The sun was beginning to set as you closed the door behind you. Both of you walk down the driveway to his car. You didn't want to embarrass yourself further, so you were glad the ride to the school was a short one, because soon enough, you were there.
Entering the great hall of your school, you stood looking around the room, stunned. The entire room was decorated in its winter theme, 'Winter Wonderland.' There were fake snowflakes and icicles hanging from the ceiling, some lights were hung from the wall while others were lit up with fairy lights. There were tables filled with sweets, hot chocolates, and a chocolate fountain. There was even a band, playing instrumental versions of popular songs. You were amazed.
"Wow." You breathed out, turning your head to look at Sirius, finding him already looking at you.
"Wow indeed," He grinned softly, offering you his arm, "You ready, love?"
You blushed at the sound of the nickname he gave you, shyly nodding before he led you down the stairs. On the last step, you spotted Lily, who in turn, spotted you. Letting go of Sirius, you rushed over to her, Lily doing the same, the both of you meeting in the middle.
"Look at you!" Lily gushed, holding your hands in hers as she looked at your dress.
You smiled bashfully, "Thanks. You look stunning yourself." You complimented which made her blush, giving you a toothy smile. Lily's dress was a soft royal purple, littered with gold embellishments of leaves and flowers. It was off-the-shoulder, and the skirt shape was similar to yours but reminded you more of a princess gown than anything. Out of every girl there, she was the queen.
"That's what James has been telling me all night. That boy has been practically drooling." She giggled.
You laughed quietly, shaking your head at her comment. "Isn't he always?"
Looking around the room once more, you spotted Bellatrix, surprisingly. You were beyond surprised actually, seeing her wearing 'The Black Swan' dress that you saw in the window of an expensive boutique. The skirt was black tulle, with speckles of glitter, flowing out similar to yours and Lily's. The top was a matte black fabric, overlapped with the black tulle in jagged edges. If anything, that dress was made for Bellatrix.
Taking in more of the prom, you also spotted Gilderoy. With two girls on his arm. Typical. He was almost as bad as Sirius when it came to the ladies. But, it was understandable, Gilderoy's family was pretty famous, both being writers and best sellers. Moving your eyes around more, you even spotted Lucius and Narcissa. Looking poised and elegant as always. Lucius was in an all-black suit, while Narcissa was in a beautiful silver gown, with sheer sleeves and a glittery top bodice. It really looked good on her.
As the band began to play a slower song, you felt someone tap your shoulder. Turning you found Sirius, offering his hand out to you. "Would you like to dance?" He asked, and you nodded, nervously taking his hand, hoping your hands weren't sweaty. Gripping onto his hand, you felt him tug you closer, leading you out to the dance floor. Taking your time, you took a deep breath as Sirius guided you to the beat of the music. Slowly moving your feet along the rhythm, you smiled shyly up at Sirius, falling deep into his chocolate brown pools. His hand resting respectively on your waist, his hand holding yours in the air beside you, as your arm was placed on his shoulder.
He was so close to you, you could see the freckles dotting his cheeks and nose. He smelled like peppermint and fresh cologne, making your stomach churn pleasantly. You never thought you'd go to prom with anyone in your school, let alone Sirius Black. Yet here you were. Dancing in his arms, feeling his warmth against you, his hand gently wrapped around your waist. You swore that this moment would stay forever in your mind.
"Have I told you how gorgeous you are tonight?" Sirius murmured against your ear, making shivers run up and down your spine.
Slightly pulling away from him, you looked him in the eye, "No, but thank you."
"I should be thanking you," He chuckled softly, "It doesn't take a genius to know that you look absolutely beautiful. Even in that mascot costume." He bit his lip briefly, "But, seriously-" You sputtered a small giggle, earning a grin from Sirius as he continued, "Anyway... Thank you for agreeing to go with me. I didn't think you'd say yes... But who's ever had their first date at Prom?" He shrugged a shoulder as you looked up at him with a small smile.
"Probably a lot of people." You reasoned and Sirius hummed, "I never thought my first date with you was going to be at prom, though. If we are counting this as our first date, that is." You tilted your head slightly as Sirius raised an eyebrow.
"Are you saying that I can take you out on another first date?" He asked and you chuckled lightly, eyes drifting off to look around the room.
"Well, technically that would be a second date, but yes." You stated, biting your lip.
"We'll work on it." Sirius winked, pulling you closer to him so that your chest was brushing against each other. "So, tell me about yourself, YN/." He asked, the both of you swaying side to side.
"Me?" You asked, quirking your eyebrows, "What would you like to know?"
Sirius shrugged, "Have you always wanted to be a football furry?"
You gasped, slapping Sirius lightly on his shoulder as he laughed, making you pout slightly. "That's not very nice, Sirius." You scolded, laughing out your words as you rolled your eyes. "What do you really want to know?"
Sirius's laughter slowly died down, as he gazed down at you, "Everything?" He sighed.
You hummed, glancing around the room again, noticing James and Lily dancing nearby. "Well, I love to read, and I love drawing..." You let out a breathy laugh, shaking your head, "Sorry, I can’t think of anything else at the moment." You looked back up at him.
"No worries, we have time. I mean, I'd like to have the time to get to know you, you know?"
You stared at him for a moment before speaking, "Why were you so persistent on going on a date with me, Sirius?"
"Because..." He trailed off, looking slightly embarrassed.
"Because..?" You encouraged him, urging him to continue.
His cheeks flushed, as he avoided your gaze. It wasn't like him, to feel so nervous. But with you, he never knew if he was going to say something stupid. And right now, he knew he was in trouble. Taking a deep breath, he finally looked up at you. He was still staring at you, but his dark eyes were filled with uncertainty and possible fear. You couldn't help but notice this sudden change in him. He wasn't his charming and charismatic usual self. You began to worry, were you right? Did Sirius only try and talk to you for some prank, a dare, for some sick personal gain? Maybe he did this out of spite. Maybe he just needed to find something to make fun of. Maybe you were wrong, maybe you had misunderstood everything that happened between you two. Maybe it was only a joke.
But, he had apologized to Severus. In front of a lot of people at the school. That took guts. And you knew how much Sirius cared about his ego. Maybe he did change. Maybe he realized the terrible things he did were exactly that... Terrible. You could only hope. You really liked Sirius. A lot. As much as you hated to admit it, he really meant a lot to you. So maybe you shouldn't be jumping to conclusions just yet.
"Um," Sirius cleared his throat, breaking you out of your thoughts, the slow song coming to an end. As another song began, Sirius's eyes darted around the room as you looked at him confused. "Uh, let's go get some air." He spoke, before leading you out and into the hall. You watched as he let out a breath, running a hand through his hair before he turned back to you. Taking both your hands in his, he let out another small breath, gaining his courage once more. "I was persistent because I like you."
Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "Wha- What do you mean?"
Sirius licked his bottom lip, "Ever since I saw you, on the field, taking off that mascot head... It was like my world went into slow motion. Everything about you just drew me in. And when you were talking to me, I couldn't believe this breathtaking girl was talking to me. I couldn't believe I had never seen you around the school, or during these four years. I guess I was just blind. A blind fool in love with you." He muttered lowly, his cheeks tinting pink as he glanced down at you. You didn't answer, instead opting to stare at him in surprise. It was almost unreal that he was confessing to you like this. You never thought Sirius would ever like you, especially when he had all the girls at school begging to date him. But, as Sirius continued on, your heart melted. There was something about how earnest and sweet he was being.
"Sirius..." You spoke up softly, your eyes tearing up slightly, "You make it sound like such an honor to be in love with me." You smiled weakly up at him. "But why?"
He frowned slightly, "I don't know. I just felt drawn to you. Like there was some kind of pull towards you that I couldn't ignore. I've tried but it's no use." He raised a hand to cup your cheek, "You've enchanted me. Completely."
Nodding softly, you gave him a soft smile, "Consider your feelings returned. You've completely enchanted me as well."
"Y/N..." Sirius whispered quietly, his lips curving upwards. "May I?"
Taking one step closer to him, you leaned forward, pressing your lips against his warm ones. As your lips moved together, Sirius immediately responded, deepening the kiss, his hands cupping your cheeks. His lips pressed into yours desperately, as you tangled your fingers in his black curls; they were as soft as they looked. Pulling away slightly from each other, you rested your forehead against his as you caught your breath. "You have no idea how long I waited for this," Sirius breathed, placing a chaste kiss on your forehead.
Shaking your head slightly, you giggled softly, as Sirius pulled that velvet box out of his pants pocket. The one from your locker from weeks before.
"The necklace?' You questioned, as Sirius nodded.
"Yes, I uh, thought you should have it." He smiled shyly as you opened the box and you gasped softly.
The necklace was a silver paw print, on a simple silver chain. You placed a hand on your cheek before you picked up the necklace from the box.
"It's beautiful..." You sighed, looking up at Sirius, "This reminded you of me?" You asked and he nodded, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah, since you are the mascot, and you know, that's where I first met you... When you were in that costume... I don't know... I saw it and thought of you." He explained, causing your heart to swell.
"Thank you, Sirius." You shyly spoke, before offering him the necklace, "Mind helping me put it on?" You asked and Sirius gently took the necklace from you as you turned around. Carefully unclasping it, you moved your hair as he brought the necklace around your neck, clipping it closed. The cool metal warmed your bare skin as you turned back around, looking down at the necklace and back up at him.
"How does it look?" You heard him ask quietly.
"Beautiful. Almost as beautiful as you." Sirius said simply, smiling at you.
And just like that, you had fallen in love. All you wanted to do was keep this feeling with you forever. And the way Sirius was looking at you, you knew he felt the same way too.

Okay but like Remus coming home one day to find eight-year-old Harry eating ice cream for dinner in front of the television and there’s a brand-new racing broom on the couch next to him, and he just sighs and goes “alright what did Harry call Snape this time” and Sirius is like “he called him a smelly arsehole” and Harry pipes up and goes “did Moony bring me a present too??” and Remus says “you get presents from Moony when your insults are more creative than ‘smelly arsehole’” but he gives Harry a high-five anyway.

So Thomas and Joan a couple years ago made a video out of a bunch of quotes from the movie Anchorman, and I just found the transcription I made for it again…
So here I present to you:
Anchorman Sides
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Roman: I need all of you to stop what you’re doing and listen! CANNONBALL!!
Roman: I’m kind of a big deal.
Logan: Really.
Roman: People know me.
Logan: Well I’m very happy for you.
Roman: I’m very important, uhhh I have… many leather bound books.
Remus: What in the hell’s diversity?
Roman: Well I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
Virgil: Hey nice clothes gentlemen. I didn’t know the Salvation Army was having a sale. HAHAHAHAHA
Patton: Hey! Where did you get those clothes? At the toilet store?
Logan: I will have you know that I have more talent and more intellegence in my little finger than you do in your entire body! Sir!
Roman: You are a smelly pirate hooker!
*dog barks*
Roman: You pooped in the refridgerator? How’d you do that? I’m not even mad, that’s amazing.
Roman: I’m not prepared. I’m really not prepared at all.
Remus: I woke up this morning… and I shit a squirrel.
Roman: AAAHHH I’M IN A GLASS CASE OF EMOTION!
Janus: They had to bring a female in. Change your diapers, wipe the dribble away from your bubbling lips. Rub vaseline all over your hiney and tell you it’s special you different from everyone else’s. *laughs*
Patton: You said hiney!
Logan: Pat get back over here.
Patton: haha Hiney
Roman: You’re a real hooker. I’m gonna slap you in public.
Logan: *laughs* You have man boobs.
Roman: You’ve got a dirty whore-ish mouth, that’s what you have.
Logan: A jazz flute is for little fairy boys.
Roman: Ok, you know what? That’s uncalled for. I can’t work with this man.
Logan: I’m Logan Sanders.
Roman: And I’m Roman Sanders. Go fuck yourself, San Diego.
Virgil: *screams*
Patton: Why did you say that? You’re my hero, Roman!
Roman: Pat, I…
Patton: And you come out with stink like that! Poop! You poop mouth! The poop outta your mouth! *cries*
Roman: Pat, if I were to give you some money out of my wallet, would that ease the pain?
Roman: We are IN LOOOOOOVVVVEEE!!!!!
Roman: Did I say that loud?
Virgil: Yeah, you pretty much yelled it.
Patton: I love carpet.
Roman: Pat are you just looking at things in the office and saying that you love them?
Patton: I love lamp.
Roman: Do you really love the lamp? Or are you just saying it because you saw it?
Patton: I love lamp! I love lamp!
Roman: Pat, where’d you get a hand grenade?
Patton: I don’t know.
Remus: What do you say we go out on a date? Have some chicken, maybe some sex. You know, see what happens?
Logan: Oh, let me get this over here *dick punches Remus, Remus keels over* Sorry.
Patton: People seem to like me because I’m polite, and I’m rarely late. I like to eat ice cream, and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Remus: I’m all about having fun, you know, get a couple cocktails in me, start a fire in someone’s kitchen. Maybe go to Sea World, take my pants off.
Roman: Great Oden’s Raven!
Janus: *referring to his cologne* It’s called ‘Sex Panther’ by Odeon. It’s illegal in 9 countries.
Roman: Jan, I’m gonna be honest with you. That smells like pure gasoline.
Janus: They’ve done studies, you know. 60% of the time it works every time.
Roman: That doesn’t make sense
Patton: Logan.
Logan: Ahem.
Patton: I would like to extend to you an invitation to the ‘pant’s party’.
Logan: Excuse me?
Patton: The…party. The pants…with pants. The party with pants?
Logan: Pat, are you saying that there’s a party in your pants and I’m invited?
Patton: That’s it!
Logan: Did Janus tell you to say this, Patton?
Patton: No…Yes he did.
Logan: Ok. No, I don’t want to go to a party in your pants.
Patton: Very well. Virgil, would you like to go to a party in my pants?
