remus would not be one of those people who only listens to underground music and avoids anything mainstream and really loves being unique and an individual and not like anyone else.

that man is the most sheep person ever. he already has enough stuff that sets him apart from his peers, he would not actively be trying to further that! that man wants to fit in so bad and be like everyone else. he'd pretend to like popular bands and films and act like he gives a damn about quidditch.

like, especially as a teenager, remus was so preoccupied with fitting in with the masses but could just never succeed cause he was too gangly and awkward and poor and weird and could never shake off the rumours he was mentally unstable (hence the nickname 'loopy lupin'). which is one of the biggest reasons the marauders was so important to him. because it was the only thing where he fit in and belonged.

YES EXACTLY,, like i very much picture regulus as finding sirius arguing with their parents and speaking out as just making an unnecessary scene.

that is the moment i meant, yeah. i definitely think they both would see each other like that. like sirius thinking of regulus as a 'stupid idiot' because he refuses to ever defy the family and gets so easily led by people that don't really care about him. and regulus would think of sirius as a 'stupid idiot' for defying their family and not just being quiet and not realising their parents just want the best for them.

im sick too! we're twinning !! ✨ So, what are your thoughts on Sirius and Regulus' relationship in canon? Because many people hc they used to get along a lot, both were abused by their parents, and after Sirius left everything went to shit... But I personally like to think that Sirius was always the favourite one and Regulus was a bit more like Percy Weasley in terms of personality? Bighead boy and all... It was nice to get all the attention and approval for once now that Sirius was "out of the way". What do you reckon?

i kinda see it as more that regulus did miss sirius and he did love him, but he also saw it as sirius betraying the family and forced himself to stop missing sirius and instead see it as relief that the black family name is safer in his hands (in terms on keeping tradition and not ruining the family name), as the new heir.

i do definitely agree with you about sirius being the favourite. i think with orion, sirius was absolutely his favourite and he never liked to interact with regulus who he only saw as a 'spare heir' for sirius. and with walburga, i think she did coddle regulus a lot but sirius was still more her favourite as he was more talented/smarter/charming and also reminded her of herself (i imagine walburga as being quite rebellious to her own parents as a teen but ultimately went back into the family fold, so she assumed sirius would be the same)

i think sirius and regulus do love each other a lot, but their relationship is also wrapped up in a lot of family trauma and different priorities that they can't really get past. like how sirius refers to regulus seems to hold a lot of affection, but he's still disappointed in regulus for being unable to recognise the harm of their family.

in terms of younger them, i think they still weren't super close. i think they would have had a lot of studies to do, which they did alone/with tutors and not together as sirius would be quite disruptive. and out of that, sirius would have a lot of playmates (kids of family friends) over that he liked to prank, whilst regulus hid from the other kids by staying in his room and reading. they had very different definitions of fun so didn't really play together at all. however there is one thing that i hc they did together- going to a music shop nearby. however as they got older, regulus stopped wanting to go as much, whilst sirius was constantly there or just loitering around camden all day.

love love prongstail. i think canonly, i see it more as unrequited but i like to explore it as requited outside of canon.

i do think james is a huge romantic and loves pda, big gestures, and is polyamorous. whilst peter is more into sexual aspects of relationships, hates pda, is quite private, and gets quite jealous easily. so i think prongstail is always doomed to fail (in terms of them dating), and yet they'd still try as hard as they can.

in terms of canon, i kinda see it as peter blatantly being in love with james, which all three of the others marauders know but don't really talk about in fear of the group falling apart. and i think from then, with james then marrying lily and starting his own life, and everyone else seems to be changing and growing up- peter kinda just realises everythings gone (apart from his own life), and forces himself to not care about anything but keeping his life.

they definitely made out at least once (even in canon. it happened)
