Just listened to Bayo3’s Moonlight Serenade and it just hit me again how absolutely furious I am about this game. Waiting 5 years since the announcement and then 2 further years before I could finally play it just to be met by that was… I don’t even have words for it.
And the worst part is - I was having so much fun playing it! Sure, it wasn’t on the level of Bayo1 or Bayo2, but it was still a delight to play! I loved the new designs, I loved the new weapons, I loved the music, I loved the new flow of combat, I genuinely had such a great time! Alright, the writing wasn’t exceptional, but the idea of parallel universes was still fun to explore - and I’m not fond of the enemies’ design in general, but I had a blast fighting them once I figured them out, and I appreciate the fact that they tried to do something different once again (after fighting angels in Bayo1 and demons in Bayo2). I even loved Jeanne’s little spy levels!! They were so cool and charming and so much fun to play through!
And I liked Viola! The narrative really didn’t do her justice but she was still such an endearing character! Her fighting sections were different but still enjoyable, and I enjoyed everything about Cheshire, which made her levels even better.
And I just - to take all that potential, all that joy, and squander it so completely and maliciously right at the end was just… devastating to me. I know Bayonetta isn’t made for the girls and the gays, but that’s not even the point - I would’ve at least enjoyed a Cereza/Luka ending if it had been written properly! Instead they decided to assassinate the characters we all knew and loved, spit on all the established lore and themes of the previous games, stomp on all the newly introduced characters, and all to shoehorn in a fated-lovers narrative that doesn’t even work on its own, without taking into account everything that contradicts it in the previous instalments.
And as if that’s not enough, they forced it into the most depressing, most nonsensical, most malicious finale I have ever witnessed. Why are you punishing me for winning the fights? Where is the reward for getting to the end? I was waiting at the edge of my seat for the entire game to see how Cereza would turn the situation around, how she’d overcome the impossible odds and come out dancing on her enemies, and instead they told me no, she saves almost no-one, she dies a pointless death she could’ve easily avoided so we can get a) the stupidest romance ever seen and b) a new protagonist that we spent no time developing, and nothing you did in this game had any meaning at all, fuck you.
Sorry for the rant, but I’m just… I’m so disappointed. I really really wanted to like this game and instead the finale ruined the whole experience for me. I literally sat in silence as the final scene and credits rolled out because I just couldn’t fathom what I was watching. How do you take such a great cast of beloved characters and decide that this is what you want to do with them? With a 5-year development time, no less? They deserved better, Cereza especially deserved better, and we all deserved so much better.

Only Time Makes It Human
Hi, hello I was so excited to write this story you don't understand! I hope you all like it, I'm open to suggestions for part two or even part three hehe, I just like this concept a lot, lol i even made a Spotify playlist to listen to while writing. And I dont do that very often.
Pairing: Levi/ Reader
Summary: he shouldn't have let Hange drag him to that frat party with Petra as his date, not when she knew you'd be there with someone else.
Tags: college au!, Angst, eventual fluff, slightly nsfw
Warnings: mentions of smoking, cheating, drinking and of you squint hard enough there's some nsfw, literally it's a frat party, you know how college students are
Disclaimer: drink responsibility if you are of drinking age, don't smoke, absolutely don't drive while being drunk, also I don't own the characters, but you already know that.
Tumblr media
The deafening sound of pop music abused Levi's ears to the point his head was pulsing. His drink, a ratty cheep lager that was disturbingly common in such parties, stood in a red plastic cup in his hand, not even halfway drank. It was the watery taste he despised; when he wasn't much of an alcohol drinker, he was adamant about bitter tastes in beverages, a preference he hadn't managed to fight in his whole life time.
He shot an ominous glance at Hange and Petra. Stood right in front him, swaying their hips and smiling at each other as they shipped from their makeshift cocktails, they were more than surprised whatever they had dumped on their cups was consumable.
Petra in particular, beamed everytime she looked his way, auburn locks of her grazing the sides of her kind face as she swayed closer to him. The way his eyes never landed on her until it was necessary guilted him more than he wanted to admit. Mainly because Hange had set them up, and also because he shouldn't have been frying his brain with thoughts of someone else when he was with her.
But sometimes he couldn't help himself.
In an attempt to shut his brain down from making generously misery thoughts, he locked his hand around Petra's waist, sipping ever so slightly off his beer in the meantime. He didn't miss the way she lowered her head to smile, the sheer maroon tint on her cheeks. She fidgeted her fingers around her drink, shooting happy stares to Hange, Erwin and Mike as she went to rest get head on Levis shoulder.
Hange softly smiled back, curling her lips on an upward curve then brushing of three long to stare at the couple with ogling eyes. She focused on the conversation Mike and Erwin were having, as if it was something important enough to get lost into.
"I'm just wondering where Nanaba is, she said I'd find her here." Mike spoke with a puzzled voice, bobbing his head around to scout for the familiar blotch of short blonde hair that acostumed the face of his long term lover.
"Ah, she's with (y/n), silly. They're probably somewhere around if you want to say hi." Hange beamed.
Levi's eyes went wide and his hands numb at the sound of your name; he couldn't believe the plastic cup hadn't slipped off his palm. It had been so long since Hange had mentioned you so casually in a shared conversation, at least before him that is. It was more than natural to assume his friends hadn't cut ties with you, in contrast to his previous belief.
It was unlikely they were working against him on this situation, but his mind couldn't stop from running in possible imageries between them and you. Were they going to that cafe near campus with you when he denied their invitation? Did they spent some nights at your new place, drinking and driving you on watching horror parodies, when you despised it?
He shook his head trying to brush bubbling thoughts of you away from his mind. With a quick look at Petra, he decided to gulp down the warmed up lager, in hopes of finding relief in a stronger refill.
He despised the way beer didn't spritz on his tongue in it's warm state, but he refused to cringe at the aftertaste. Meanwhile, on his left, Petra enthusiastically bobbed her weight between her legs at the sound of another well known song. He didn't bother to comply to her moves, his eyes averted bitterly to the emptiness of his cup, yet he couldn't eagerly decide to step out of the comfort of his position.
Strolling around meant that he could come across you and he wasn't sure whether he wanted that or not.
Yet, Hange was adamant about dragging him, through the crowd to the kitchen counter, seeing his need for a refill as an excuse to get a new drink to mix to her cocktail.
Familiar faces fleet the kitchen, strolling around with numerous cups in their hands, heading to all directions. Levi pinched his nose in annoyance; the stench of sweat and smoke numbed his nostrils making him snicker, disgust masking the look on his face.
Setting his goal as to find a closed bottle of whiskey, his hands managed to work fast to their task. Upon discovering a single bottle that was still intact he twist the cap open, skillfully bringing the rim of his cap underneath the bottle's opening. Copper liquid poured in gushes in the red plastic, filling it to its maximum capacity.
The bigger the drink, the more chances he had to get a little drunk, maybe forget about you in the process.
"Are you thinking about her, shorty?"
Hange's voice rang in his blank head for several seconds fighting to elicit an answer out of him. He fought back, merely for a moment. If he knew Hange she would have kept pressuring him to answer her question on front of every one else for the rest of the night. He was trying to fix his mood with at least some alcohol, so he wouldn't let Hange ruin it.
He hesitated to speak loud enough for his voice to reach her eardrums. Admitting to his pain made it real, and he hated still being sentimental when it came to you. At least Hange would keep her mouth shut if she got her rightful answer.
"Well I do, I suppose." He muttered below his breath, gray eyes never averting to her direction.
Hange curious expression immediately transformed into one of pure mischievous excitement that, he had to admit, was pretty unsettling. He knew that look on his friend's face, he couldn't fight it even if he wanted to so naturally he wished he had bit back on his answer. Nevertheless, what was done was done.
"It sucks doesn't it?" Hange spoke, pointer finger stretching to fox her glasses.
"It makes me feel lonely."
"Well don't make your self suffer, shorty." Hange's eyes softened as she threw a playful punch on his bicept, her drink long forgotten on the counter. "You could try to be friends with her."
"It's not that I want to suffer, it keeps me going sometimes. And no, I don't want to."
With squinted eyes and a disappointed gaze Hange shook her head at him and grabbed her drink from the wooden counter. Her mouth formed in a disapproving smirk causing her cheeks to squint and scrunch in an almost too comical manner. Levi knew he should have paid, absolutely, no mind on stressing over it; whether she was right or wrong she wasn't in a place to judge him for any of his choices, especially on the ones on his romantic life. And even more executionally, on ones she had helped him make by setting him up with Petra.
Not that he had anything against Petra.
He actually enjoyed her company. The cute little remarks she'd make for him, the way she cared for anything he did or the way her eyes would ogle at him as if he was a god. She could keep her space clean and she was kind to everyone in the sweetest manner. On top of that she had a girl next door type of beauty, auburn hair parted messily according to any occasion and round hazel eyes. All in all Hange had been right to point out she looked good on him.
Tonight, Petra was shining in her favorite pastel layers. A soft strawberry lilac turtleneck with flared sleeves as a base, topped with a powder blue strappy dress and finally completed with velvet baby pink Vans. Cute sparkly pins were accessorising her hair and numerous necklaces with moon and star charms shone on her neck. The effort she had put to perfect her aesthetic had indeed paid off; she looked like a fairy under the erratic lights of the party. She had achieved her initial goal to stand out from the occasional soft girls around the crowd, signifying she was Levi's girl.
With Levi's popularity amongst ladies, she had to be effortlessly perfect.
And she was, for as long as she was concerned.
Levi shot his eyes to his friends' direction, catching quickly glimpses of the way Petra danced with Hange. Erwin and Mike were nowhere to be found for now, as he assumed they would be searching for Nanaba.
He cringed at the chaotic arrangement of things; Nanaba had distanced her self from the group because she was your childhood friend so her relationship with Mike naturally came second to not forcing you into the same group as Levi. As if Levi wanted to be forced to be in the same group as you.
Fortunately, you had plenty of friends as to not to stick onto his group.
He was gulping a mouthful of his drink, copper whiskey watering down his dry throat as if he hasn't drunk anything in hours, when his eyes met yours in the crowd. His heart immediately skipped a long beat, chest heavying at the sight of your flushed face.
Maybe, on second thought, you hadn't actually noticed him.
You stood outside of the massive glass window proudly downing the shot in your hand after cheering on it with Eren. There was joy written on your makeup accessoried face; with your eyes squinted and your smile spread to your face asour hips moved according to the music engulfed in Eren's palms. Your hair swayed with each one of your movements, (h/c) locks landed messily on your face and shoulders mirroring Eren's to perfection. Levi couldn't help but notice how Eren's man bun was coming undone on the erratic movements his made.
As you slightly squated, attempting to perk your buttocks in the air for your partner to grab, your baggy jeans tightened their hug on your body in perfection. Levi remembered having seeing you in those baggy cargo jeans from afar on a few occasions, always thinking how good they looked on you, always admiring how you could always lull off your desired aesthetic effortlessly.
It was true that had he not seen you flawnting your effortless dark urban style, he would have thought that Petra had been the only girl who could show anyone how dressing aesthetically could be achieved. But you were something different. They way your breasts sat firmly at the bustier bits of your spaghetti strapped top, adorned by the corset like nature of the torso tube looked magnificent paired to your jeans. Your jet black Dr Marten's boots peaked from the flared finish of your jeans, giving the look a 90s grungy edge along with your all natural -be it for your dark maroon lip color.
Looking around, amongst numerous art majors like you he couldn't find someone who could mimick the way you pulled it off.
There fore, on a way he didn't blame Eren's hands as they traveled down your curves and touched tenderly at your torso. Even if the motion pulled any string in his heart that wasn't numbed by his alcoholic beverage.
He loathed you looked so good, and he loathed the way you danced to the loud tune as if no one was around.
With another big gulp on his whiskey, he felt the world slowing down around him.
As your eyes finally met -this time it wasn't just him imagining things- the tune changed, mocking him for gawking at you while taking your side against him. He noticed you mouth the lyrics to him, your head turned to his direction as his eyes struggled to rip away from your form.
Your moves on Eren became more intimate, more suggestive as you scratched the nape of his neck, bringing your mouth close to his ear to whisper words Levi couldn't have known of. Quickly, Eren pulled away with a pouty smile, displeased that he had to pull away from you. It was in that second that Levi's chest tightened dangerously, as Eren's lips brushed chastely on yours, noses bumping on eachother.
In an attempt to shook the image out of his head he turned on his heels, cup squeezed in hand and stomach growling in anxiety as he marched to his group of friends. Smiling faces welcomed him but he paid no mind in reciprocating the slightest glance. Levi wasn't exactly the type to bounce back immediately after having experienced his heart sinking in such horrid way.
Unsurprisingly for him -seeing that he was used to things only going downhill after a shitty event- Mike appeared out of the blue with Nanaba linked on him through their elbows. It wasn't in fact Nanaba that shattered any remain of his, already ruined, mood, but the person that clung into her palm.
More specifically, you.
"Heyy!!" Hange screamed, hands stretching towards your direction, already pulling you in her embrace once you reached her velocity. "I have missed you so much, where have you been these days!"
"Hange we went out for launch yesterday." You giggled through your squished cheek.
"Noo, that was ages ago I miss you everyday."
You shot a judgemental look at Erwin from Hange's back as she began to pull back from your embrace. The lisps and slips of her tongue were starting to become prominent as she poured words before you in an excessively fast paced manner, leaving you unable to come up with a way to respond to her, let alone understand what she had been saying.
Erwin scratched the back of his head an but his lip in response, shoulders rising up in an unbeknownst manner.
"You shouldn't let her drink that much. You know how she gets." You scolded, looking around the faces of your friends, trying your best not to let your faint voice get overlapped by the loud reggaeton beat.
Once again as Levi's eyes locked gazes with yours your breath hitched inside your chest.
His hand strode out to Petra's waist, pulling her closer almost too automatically for anyone not to notice. The commotion caught your eye, but you never flinched, much to your demise. Petra's hair swayed to the right as her smile widened from the sudden affectionate gesture, making you sick to the stomach from how soft and fragile and enchanting she had managed to look.
"Anyways I just came to say hi, I'll go find Eren now-"
Your words were cut short as your aforementioned significant other showed up bouncing in excitement beside you. Mirroring Levi's actions he pulled you close in a swift movement before ensuring he gave soft smiles to everyone. Hange excitedly greeted him back as Nanaba and Mike caught him up in casual conversation.
Levi watched as the brunette whipped his head whenever he flawnted on his achievements, causing Nanaba to shoot him awkward smiles and Mike to shrug him off in the process. You could see the despair in their faces as Eren egoistically carried on the conversation, but you tried to shrug it off for the moment as you conversed with Erwin.
Your mind wouldn't stop ordering your eyes to attach themselves into the picture perfect couple ahead of you, who paid no mind to your mere existence. In a way you blamed yourself for having caused this. Had you uttered a single hello to them you wouldn't have received such treatment. It served you right for knowingly intruding their space with the intention to make your presence known to Levi.
If you knew if the way Levi's eyes fell onto you everytime you looked away, you wouldn't have had yanked Eren's hand in an attempt to gain his attention.
"Ah sweetheart, I'm sorry, Yeagerbombs with your Yeager boy?" Eren blinked his emerald eyes into yours, pride splattered in his smile for his -cringeworthy to anyone else but himself- pun. You couldn't help but let out a nervous snicker of a laugh as he yanked you close to him again, pleading eyes landing into Levi's stormy gaze.
For you, the world seemed to stop in the moment as you took in his dimly lit face and delicate features. The music fell deaf to your ears as you gawked at him, hands trembling and tongue tied in words that you failed to recognize.
That mellow melancholy in his eyes, the adorning eyebags, the way some short coarse hairs on his face tried to mimick his neatly kept undercut, it all seemed unreal to you.
How long had it been since you had been so close to him? Nowadays it seemed the two of you had moved on to whatever. You had tried so much to avoid eachother that your timing never allowed the two of you to meet, not even for a the slightest, in hopes of forgetting about each others existence.
What downed you, though, from your precious pink cherry blossom rainfall bubble was that Petra was wrapped lovingly around him, her aesthetically pleasing image fitting conveniently with your little fairytale background, throwing you out of it.
By faintly excusing yourself from the group you let yourself lose on Eren's grip as he slipped you away from the crowd and towards the kitchen.
__
Levi didn't want to have to take a trip to the bathroom of a sorority house. In thought it seemed disgusting and unsanitary, but he had so much to drink that his body had been begging and screaming to him for some sort of relief.
He assumed the upstairs bathroom would be clean, supposing there weren't any horny young adults crushing their reproductive organs against eachother as there would normally be at any party of this nature.
With a steady knock that elicited no answer or even a simple grunt from the other side of the door he knew he was good to go. With a movement of his wrist the handle twisted and he slowly let himself in, eager to get through the process as fast as possible.
A few moments later and the fly of his distressed jeans was being zipped up again, tucked neatly under his black crewneck's bottom. He scrunched his sleeves up above his elbows and run his hand under the sink, waiting for the water to warm up.
His face looked tainted in the mirror; puffy eyebags and a deadpan expression while his lips stayed chapped. In an attempt to look presentable he run his now excessively washed hands through his front bangs tagging slightly to form a little volume at the roots.
He hadn't expected to swoon so easily at the sight of you being playfully entangled with Eren. He hadn't expected his heart to sink at the sight of you being explicitly affectionate with anyone before him and he wondered if it was simply due to the fact that he hadn't been accostumed to it. He certainly hadn't expected of Eren to step in and swoop you away before his very eyes; the pain of seeing you next to a friend of his seemed even more devastating for a few seconds.
Nevertheless, the little shit had always had an eye on you, even if he liked to consider himself as a protegee if his.
Levi wondered if you had felt that loathing feeling as well. Petra hadn't been that private about their relationship, with her constant posts on Instagram, her continuous snaps of him on a daily basis. Whereas he hadn't seen you post many things in the course of eight months.
He had brushed off the idea of scrolling through your socials a numerous times before finally agreeing on linking with Petra. Secretly he'd search for your shared photos, hoping they'd appear out of nowhere on your profile. Secretly he'd stare at his archived posts, contemplating on whether he should keep photos of a better time protected or whether he should delete them.
Now with his back against the sink to prevent himself from catching his reflection judging him, he unlocked his phone and tapped the familiar fuchsia icon. As expected, Eren's profile icon flashed in a pink and orange ombre circle before all others, signaling he had posted a story. Not supressing his pulled heartstrings who were set to call the shots tonight, Levi tapped on the icon with such force that a loud tapping sound filled his ears.
The video loaded painfully slow, his data connection giving in to the thick bathroom walls. Eren's face flashed on his screen, sheepish smile adorning his features."There's no hope for us!" He spoked in blurred pronounciation. "Even the anti smoker is smoking!" In a quick sequence the camera angle shifted on you, apathetically taking a drag out of a freshly rolled cigarette while cussing him out in a stern tone.
Silently he scrunched his nose and clicked his tongue in annoyance. Surely you still hadn't learnt from past mistakes. In seldom occasions you'd smoke while mixing your drinks, nothing unusual for people at your age; although Levi knew better than to do it consciously, you sometimes did. He had been strick and unforgiving on you, snapping out on you the following day for not taking good care of yourself. Clearly his short temper had only pushed you to riot now that you were away from him.
When the door shot open, causing him to jump and nearly let his phone slip away from his grip, he couldn't bring himself to realise for how long he'd been sitting in the bathroom, replaying Eren's story.
His eyes quickly recognised you as you shot your arms to pull your hair away from your face. He had seen you from every possible angle, a feeling that once upon a time had made him feel sick and trapped, pushing him to make stressed decisions. Every little detail of yours was curved in the back of his brain, awaiting for moments like this to unleash. It was easy like that to recognize you for miles ago.
As much as he'd like to, he didn't make a move towards you, afraid that maybe if you saw him out of all people in this state you'd jump in fear.
Nonetheless he couldn't help the silent inquiry concerning your condition not slip off his mouth. "You alright there?"
"I'm fine." You gulped, supressing the urge to spill your stomach's insides before the person behind you. "It's just- my ex is here and I- I guess I got stressed and I smoked and I drunk too much and ugh-" you cringed at the way you overshared your personal matters with a stranger, although you momentarily found comfort in the action. No one could judge you if they didn't know you, right?
"You don't say!"
Of course luck wouldn't be on your side. Ever since you laid your eyes on him a few hours ago you knew it in your heart this night would fall in crumbles, but did it really have to be this way?
You jumped, startled at the sight of Levi's familiar face, ignoring the way your heart fell as hard as a rock in your stomach, ignoring the vertigo like feeling to numb the poor organ. Puke hitched in your throat and you ripped your eyes away from his form in a panicked state. Your stomach emptied in the porcelain toilet, leaving atrocious sounds as it burned and scratched on your throat. You feel your whole body go weak with every shot of your stomach. Your hands couldn't keep their grasp on your hair; they quickly fell near your legs.
Levi crouched to your side in a heartbeat, his quick instincts getting the best of him as he grabbed your hair tenderly in order to keep it away from your face.
"Fuck, just how much did you even drink?" He whispered, hand reluctantly reaching to soothe down your back.
"You should know." You barked. "You were staring. How dare you?"
He had grown accustomised to quite make out your mutters by assuming what you were feeling in the moment. Athough, as your excessive vomiting came to an alt, you yanked your hair angrily out of his hands, refusing to associate yourself with him anymore.
As you meticulously washed your hands and mouth you noticed his stretched hand shielded the way to the door, blocking you from exiting. Your dizzy state didn't allow you to be feisty as you fixated your interest in swooning over the way his arms looked with his sleeves rolled up. You took a mental note to scold yourself for that very fact once you were sober enough.
"I have to go to my friends, thanks for helping me."
"You're not going anywhere." You noticed his breath hitched as he spoke. Was he equally as drunk? Wasn't he supposed to handle his alcohol like he had always said? Just how much had he had to drink? "You're not going anywhere until you tell me why you drunk so much."
Your silent thoughts geared up inside your brain, ready to skyrocket out of your mouth the moment you opened it to speak. "It's because you're here and you're with her and seeing the two of you in action is only making it real!"
Levi erratically blinked at your word vomiting. He hadn't expected you to just spill out those words without a notice it a warning, hell, even a little warm up would be nice to help him form a preserved reaction without becoming a drunk stuttering mess.
Without warning your hands wrapped around him, chests pressed against each other in the firmest way possible, sending shivers down his newly sweating spine. Normally, he'd say he hated the way you nuzzled against the crook of his neck, wiggling your nose through his crewneck sweater to coo into his warmth. Normally, he'd pinch himself and wake up and you would disappear, never to been seen laying beside him in such manner again.
Normally his blood wouldn't pump profoundly in his veins in excitement and lust as your touch and your smell.
As the sweet aroma of vanilla and pergamont englulfed his nostrils his arms loosened around him before jumping to the sides of your face, yanking it away from his neck. His next move was crucial; thumbs tenderly stroked on your cheeks as his stormy eyes looked silently into yours. He could only listen to his heartbeat as he crushed his mouth against yours in a feverous manner.
His body pushed against yours in need to pull you into the kiss as you responded with equal effort to your passion. Fortunately for him you had spent minutes trying meticulous wash out any smell or taste away from your mouth with some oral hygiene products you had happened to come across in the cupboards. The fact that he was drunk didn't mean he was inconsiderate of his need for everything to be clean.
__
All in all, be wasn't sure how the two of you ended up in the backseat of his car, topless with your tongues genuinely battling for dominance.
He must have been in a haze as he pushed past and out of the crowd, erratically trying to remember the general direction in which his car was parked.
As his hands gripped everywhere he could find his eyes didn't dare to shoot open. Existing in this moment, dry humping to your hips from underneath you. Tiny bumps adorned your skin every time he touched you. The freezing air of December had finally brushed its effect on both of you, soft shivers shook your whole form and he couldn't help but notice.
He couldn't think straight, despite wanting to though.
Your lips launched in the soft spot on his neck in an effortless manner. To him it was obvious you hadn't forgotten his own anatomy; all the places that you touched teased him perfectly to submission making him sink into the black industrial seat.
Your hands passionately grabbed the back of his hair, elbows colliding with the skin just under his collarbone.
"I've missed this, I've longed for this."
Your words, whether they were intentional or not, slit through his chest and set fire to the wound, causing another wave of stressful passion to spread from his stomach to his whole body. Chaste kisses were places all over his face, underneath his bangs, on his eyes, even the tenders corners of his jaw.
Your noses crashed, your breaths mingling in the air as your lips found his again.
You moved your lips in perfect synch, as if they were two pieces of a puzzle that were fabricated to fit perfectly on eachother. It hurt you that your bodies were working against your sober wills. You made another note to punish yourself for that as well once you were in your right mind.
His hands wrapped tighter around your back, crashing you impossibly closer next to him. Your chest fought to rise and fall as squirms escaped you, engulfed into his mouth.
"We shouldn't do this here, I'm not up to voyeuring anyone." He remarked, but fell silent as you placed another brushing kiss on his lips before pulling back to slightly nod in agreement.
Before you knew it you were wrapped in his jacket, your top long forgotten in an unseen corner of his car. His own charcoal black crewneck shielded his body from your sight as he hit the pedals of his car almost too closely to the allowed speed limit.
Long forgotten were his friends and date to the first party, long forgotten were any attempts to find excuses for whatever had ignited what was happening.
The trip to his apartment was quicker than what you had expected; maybe it was for the alcohol in your system that left you in a constant vertigo, but your head wasn't getting any better. The warm golden Christmas city lights adorned every single aspect of the streets and captivated your eyes spreading their heat into your whole form. With Christmas around the corner the current situation felt even more alluring to indulge into.
Christmas always meant Levi, in a way.
You swore you only blinked for a second once you entered the apartment building front door but when you opened your eyes you were before his door.
As always, it read 25B.
In a flash you were underneath him in his bed, hair sprawled everywhere around you as his lips angrily assaulted your collarbones. You didn't trust your drunk antics to tell you if the night was still young, but you assumed it could still labor a few more hours of the greediness between two long lost lovers.
"I" he started acting kissed on your lips as his hands came to mingle with the button of your jeans. "Want you to know." Another kiss was placed on your lips. "That" another "I-"
This time you cut him off with your swollen lips on his, sucking all air out of his lungs. "Just kiss me and we'll talk about this afterwards."
__
Your eyes throbbed as light entered their cavities, reflecting on your irises despite your best wishes. You had only just shot out a hand to shield them from the warm rays of sun when panic stabbed through your chest like a murderous intruder.
They blueyish grey tink to the walls and the futuristic design of the drawers and nightstands were all too familiar to you. They stood there, mocking you on all their dark chocolaty color for being unable to come up with an immediate answer to your whereabouts.
Your head was being occasionally jolted in throbbing hot pain as you decided to look around you in the matress, in hopes of recognising the person to whom the newly sounding grunts belonged to.
To your utter shock and disbelief, Levi shot up from his position on the bed. You watched as his eyes widened at the sight of you, grey orbs slightly shrinking in shock and realisation.
"What did you-" he began but soon his hand shot up to his own throbbing head. "Shit just how much did we have to drink?"
"Okay I have a better question," you added to your shared misery "are you as naked as I am?"
It was on rare occasions that you had seen such irrational panic mask Levi's face, yet this time must have been the most striking one amongst the ones you could recall. His skin had lost at least two shades of color, his lips parted slightly. His forehead was cringled as his eyebrows were skyrocketing away from his eyes.
Although when he opened his mouth in an attempt to confirm the obvious, he was quickly cut off by the sound of his doorbell being rung, along with three stern knocks on his door. Even his phone started ringing from beside him, adding pressure to his momentarily frozen state. He picked the divice in his hands, fingers shakingly making their way to the acceptance button.
"Hey Petra!"
"Hey love!" You heard the cheerful voice fill the air through his speaker. Petra had a really loud voice, you noticed, it was either that or that your head was about to explode from the hangover. "I'm outside, please open up, you left without even saying goodbye and wouldn't pick up your phone. I'm so worried."
"Tch, give me a second I'll get changes and we can have breakfast at that cafe you like." Levi grunted, his thumb reaching to rub soothing circles on the prominent vein in his forehead.
"Can I come inside?"
Shit.
"Yeah yeah." He spoke as he hit the closing button, his phone being slammed against the bed. His head turned to you, only to reveal a section of his throat that was bruised in lovemarks you had left on him. "Hide, stay silent, I don't know which one, just do it."
After his harsh order, his eyes never had a chance to reach yours as he got up from the bed to sprint to his dresser, hurriedly searching for the only washed black turtleneck he owned. He hadn't even had a chance to look himself in the mirror, but knowing you, you couldn't have held back from munching on the skin in his throat.
Upon his quick discovery, he threw on a pair of gray of sweats that he recover from the hanger behind his door.
You didn't dare speak, hell you didn't even dare move, the fear of being discovered in such pretentious position -as the third person- in a house you once had lived in overtook your natural senses and your irrational thinking. Your heart didn't cease to sink as moments later you heard the door click open, then immediately close.
The familiar buzzing sound of silence filled your ears a few moments later. This time realisation kicked in immediately in hopes of drowning your mind in excessive amounts of overthinking. That's how it was then?
Your head plopped down the pillows, sinking deeper and deeper with each passing second. Your heart skipped essential beats and your breathing hitched in your throat. Only one question stood on top of others.
What had you done?

I thought i’d write something different from what I usually do to say ‘ thank you for 400 followers ‘ I hope you like it
“ light no you can’t write my name please “
the air in the room was tense as you stood moving your weight between each foot “ light I don’t understand —whatd I do to you—please “
you felt the patience youd held for him earlier slipping out of your body as you reached out to grab his notebook “ don’t “
your hand pulled back quickly as if his voice alone was a hot pan you just touched
“ touch my book “
you shivered at his tone
“ and return back to your seat on the bed — that she placed you in“
you followed his orders as you perched yourself at the foot of the bed eyes darting across his back In fear anytime he flexed his muscles
You actually weren’t sure how you ended up here much less how he ended up with you in his care you weren’t his responsibility but what he did know was that he was pissed the fuck off with misa’s big mouth.
I mean who the hell lets their best friend know they have shinagami eyes and that they have a book they can kill people with much less tells them that their said crush has the same book
in all honestly this has to be your fault —seriously are you stupid why did you not run? he can’t even begin to think how you just agreed to any of what she told you but here you were sitting prettily on his bed alert and at attention for his next orders god your just like her he gripped his pen tightly at the thought
He couldn’t even wrap his head around why you stayed behind with him after misa left to go complete a job given to her by her ‘boyfriend’ earlier
when the two stepped out the room to speak him thinking he was giving you enough time to escape before he came back only to want to drop dead when he walked in and turned his head to your smiling face just his luck you didn’t leave now not only one could bother him but two
he got rid of one nuisance only to be greeted with another and this one was worse. body always moving and hovering around him , hands always wrapped around something that he’d have to tell you to stop touching , your mouth moving at the speed of light , he let out a scoff in his head at that one.
the only way he was able to get you to relax was for him to tell you he’d write your name in his book that you lucky for him feared. Honestly, He didn’t even know if he wanted to or not you were kinda fun to mess with and he didn’t get much fun in his life moving from college top A student to leader of a world spread killing spree
You were like a breath of fresh air to him except you were just like misa
it was like having a misa and misa jr in his room you were no different from her and you didn’t annoy him any less but he knew you were workable, he knew by the way you followed his orders like a blind puppy. You were so quick to do whatever he asked and all it took was a little threatening to get you to do it.
he studied you out of the corner of his eyes mind slowing with only one thought about how you could be easier to control than misa and who was he to resist taking the easy way out that was the point of having a partner right, to tell them to do something and they simply do it. eyebrow furrowing as he looked at you maybe just maybe
he sighed leaning back in his chair “ look”
he turned to face you hands crossed and sat neatly in his lap “ I won’t write your name if you do me a favor“
your eyes came up to meet his in a hurry a quick whiny answer leaving your lips “ yes light “
his body went hot at the way you put up no fight ‘ just like misa ‘
“ come here “ you felt your body grow cold as you neared him you didn’t have shinagami eyes or even a notebook but you could feel the cool air of something next to you head spinning at the thought of someone something watching you walk towards the male in the chair “ look at me “
your eyes found his quickly “ good girl “
you smiled softly before he spoke “ why are you smiling? who told you to smile— I can take my deal back just as fast if you don’t listen to me “
you straightened up but still shifting your weight between your other foot
“ I need you to do something for me y/n ok “
your eyes moving around jittery thanks to the new change in air
“ calm down pretty girl only you can do it that’s why i’m asking “
his voice was soft as he looked up at you “ I know you can do it “
you felt everything in your body want to tell him you could and you would do anything if he could just give you more praise you loved the way he was talking you up
the way he was building you up and setting your building blocks up to build a nice home of safety for yourself that you’d never known
Light knew exactly what he was doing even in the beginning before the book he had a way with words and as his job with killing criminals progressed and he had to get people off his tracks it just got better.
He was sure he could find anything someone wanted and give It to them to make sure they did what he wanted them to
“ y-yes light “
he smiled “ I need you to do something that’s not gonna sound well— appealing at first “
your eyes concentrated on the floor as he snapped his fingers at you to say focus seeing you looking over to your side to see what this scary feeling of someone watching you was
“ here come sit because you can’t pay attention on your own “ he spit out “ obviously “
you moved slowly to sit in the open place hed made for you on his lap “ come on y/n “
you rushed to get over there plopping your butt down on his leg like a child with a pretend santa at the mall
“ it’s gonna sound scary I know but I need you to do it ok “
“ ok “ you sat in anxiousness you just wanted him to get to the point so you could happily say ye—
“ I need you to get shinagami eyes “
your face fell as you felt all your muscles tense , mind racing , face rising in confusion and fear as your body started to grow heavy and shake you were now understanding what you got yourself into
Your feet ready to run as you looked to the door and back to the male behind you who fell back into his chair with a groan and an eyeroll hand moving down his face in obvious annoyance and hands finally coming to a rest on his chin
You taking this moment to try to run
‘ misa can have this shit I will not be partaking‘
as soon as your body stood his left arm hooked around you and he pulled you right back into his hold only to separate his legs and have you sit between em’ so he could hold your waist in a deadly hold and his mouth could whisper into your ear
“ pretty girl what happened huh “ his fingers grabbed a piece of your belly fat through your shirt in a pinch “ you’ve been demoted now — your not a good girl anymore your a bad one y/n “
he pouted “ that’s not good “ his voice sounded disappointed as you sulked “ you were doing so good for me what happened huh “
you hated how your body felt weird you felt like you’d just failed him like you owed him something and couldn’t help but to give it to him because that’s what he deserved
but all you wanted to do was get out of here you didn’t want to give him what he desevered was that wrong was he right
“ you were just gonna leave me here to myself —all by myself alone with my book of dead people ? “ he sighed as he spoke into your neck “ dont you think that would’ve made me depressed “
he questioned “ what would have happened if I did something to myself because I was depressed huh “
his grip on you tightned pressuring you into answering
“ I-I don’t know light “
“ misa would have been so mad at you she would have blamed you for my actions could you live with that huh ? could you live with losing your best friend because you left me here in pain ? in obvious hurt crying for your help?“
“ no “
“ see you have to think about things before you do them ok minx “
you just wanted to leave why couldn’t you leave ? his words weren’t helping you were just losing yourself in them and thinking that you really were a bad person for trying to get out when you did
“ think about misa y/n think about me — I — I have a family y/n “
you body slumped at the thought of you ruining a family.
him picking up on it and only feeding Into it “ I do pretty girl I have a mom , a dad who works in the police force working his ass off to provide for our family god I wanna grow up and take care of a family don’t you think I can do that “ his mouth trailed back up to your ear his fingers interlocking with yours
“ maybe with you— your a nice girl right except for when your being mean right “ he smiled at your confused and hurt expression “ I have a sister — a younger one “
you perked up you always wanted a sibling you knew they were hard to deal with but just the thought of being there for someone or even having someone be there for you misa was like that to you
“ you—you have a sister “
“ yeah — she’s so smart and talented and I would love to grow up with her and see her live her life and be at her wedding even — I wanna grow up and have my own one of those too “
he laughed “ don’t you “
“ I - I don’t know light “
“ well whatever you wanted to do i’d be right by your side y’know“ your heart warmed had anyone even paid attention to you like this before
he sighed in your ear eyes looking forward at your hands that now stuck together with his “ y/n there’s a reason i’m asking you to get the shinagami eyes — I wouldn’t just be asking without a reason “
“ what is it because if misa has them you don’t need me you just want to fuck me over so I never tell anyone about your stupid book“
“ huh so you talk when you want to huh “ thinking back to earlier when you were so submissive to him where’d this come from ? He couldn’t say he was upset just a little thrown off at your sudden ability to speak up for yourself
he sat back in his chair “ I don’t like that “ he whispered under his breath “ maybe your not like her“
he smiled speaking louder and continuing his proposal for you “ no I just need you y/n -“
you froze
“ that’s it that’s all “ he came back up both his arms crossing over your stomach “ I like you y/n “
“ no you don’t “
he laughed “ why else would I let you stay here — in my room — after your friend left ? do you think I give a fuck if she’s mad if I didn’t like you I would have killed you — i’m not keeping you alive for her “
“ then wha— “
“ I just said I like you y/n “ his voice grew rough he was getting tired of this you changed too much for his liking either you were submissive or a brat pick one “ baby pay attention “
your body stalled ‘ he really has a way with words ‘
“ look I like being around you more than misa so it would do me a favor greatly to have someone who can help me and not annoy me“
he smiled “ imagine all the fun we can have together my love — all the times we can spend talking like we are now “
you bit your lip “ I just need you to say yes and go through the process to get the shinagami eyes “
“ light I don’t even have a book if i wa—“
he smiled sickly behind you knowing his foot was in the door “ correct which is why you need a book yeah ?
“ um yes “
he moved the chair you two sat in over to his table smiling as he found the book he had for you “ look “
“ how “ your mind raced theres for sure no turning back now there was no reason for you not to help him. He obviously needed it like he said earlier, misa liked him so what could possibly be so wrong about him, and he seemed to like you back which was only a plus
“ don’t ask me questions “ he spoke “ not until you get the eyes ok“
“ ok—o-ok “
you reached out to touch the book as you smiled at him returning what he’d shown you when you peeked down at him
“ come on pretty girl put both of them “
you thought for a moment before you gave in and put your other hand on the book blinking before you met his eyes
“ d-did I do it “
he smirked “ not quite my love — here tell me if you can see this“
he turned you around as your body froze
“ and here I was silently praying that you weren’t stupid like she was when she listened to him and gave up ownership of her death note “

Girl Talk (The Song of Sway Lake Fic)
A/N: The moment has finally arrived! The first official collab/crossover between myself and @miss-kittys-magical-library! I’m really excited for how this came out, and how much fun we had writing it together. 😊 Word Count: 3127 Rating: T - mild language, brief mention of blood, discussion of violence
~The Papermill bookstore, Sway Lake~
Selina burst through the door of the bookstore.  She almost doesn't wait for Jess to say hello or ask questions.  Selina is overcome with adrenaline, the exhilaration of what she did. A giant smile spread across her lips.  There's almost a dreamy look in her eyes.
She's covered in blood: her hands, her jeans, the bottom of her shirt.  Selina held her hands like a surgeon so she didn't touch anything.
Jess’s mouth hung open while she pointed nervously towards the upstairs.  Her friend knew where to find what she needed.
Selina comes out of the hot shower knowing Jess will be in the room waiting.  She found clean clothes but stopped to study herself in the mirror.  Somehow she felt like her body had changed somehow.
Selina caught a picture of her and Jess and held it up.  How far they've come from the girls in the photo on her best friend’s dresser.
She glimpsed Jess in the mirror, a strange smirk on her face.  Selina knew something was up.  She handed the picture to her friend and spoke,
“Can you believe this was us?”
------
There had been a time in life where Selina and Jess had told each other everything, no matter what. And yet somehow this summer, one of the most eventful in recent history, Jess hadn’t told her best friend anything. Anyone who had spent any time on the lake knew about tensions between the Sways and...basically everyone, but especially Selina’s mother and her relatives. And more than that, it had been kind of nice to have a good secret all to herself for a little while. But she missed her friend, and would have loved her advice on what to do about the boy who was quickly becoming someone important, and a problem for her heart.
She was just thinking about the other girl, wondering if she should call her after work, maybe suggest a bonfire or late night rowboat race like they used to have, when Selina burst through the door. Jess’s eyes fell to the blood first, and then rose quickly to Selina’s face and the expression that didn’t match the apparent situation at all.
A thousand questions raced through her mind as she pointed her best friend toward her bathroom (not that Selina didn’t know where it was by now) and made quick work of closing the shop. She didn’t seem hurt, so everything else could wait. While Selina washed herself clean, Jess dug for any clothes left behind the last time she had come for a visit, and failing that, any old shorts and t-shirt. She left them on top of the dresser and poked her head into the bathroom to gather the discarded bloody garments and throw them into the wash.
Selina was standing in the bedroom, studying herself in the mirror when Jess returned, and for a moment she wondered, again, if her friend was injured.
“Can you believe this was us, what?”
Selina laughed, “These girls.  We’re just girls here trying to be grown women.  I sort of treated you like I did Sunny.”
She waited for Jess to maybe bristle or tense up at his name. “I marched on to the beach, saw the first girl my age who had SOMETHING in common with me, and declared you mine.  We aren't little girls anymore.”
There was a bittersweetness in her voice.  Selina didn't even care that she was naked.
Jess laughed. She remembered that day, meeting Selina after escaping her siblings in search of a moment of peace and quiet, far from what actually found her instead. But they had got on so quickly she'd forgotten to be angry about it.
"No, we really aren't," she agreed with a tinge of nostalgic sadness in her own voice.
She leaned back on her hands on the bed, watching her friend study the picture. "I never minded, you know. It was kind of nice to be claimed by somebody. You'll always be my first for that," she bit her lip, hoping the joke didn't come off as uncomfortable given the situation.
Selina finally dressed and sat beside her friend on the bed.  Her knuckles caressed the other woman’s cheek before she swept the hair from her face. Without a thought, she leaned in and gently pressed her lips to Jess’s, tongue lingered a bit before she broke away.
“That's from Sunny too.”  Selina laid on her side tucked under Jess’s arm.  “How is it that I was here for a few weeks, and youuuu have been tramping around Sway Lake with some chick?!  Have you gone FULL lesbian?” she dropped her voice low.
Jess turned onto her side, propping a head on her arm to face Selina.
"You two are so weird," she rolled her eyes. "I don't think I'll ever get used to that."
Her stomach flipped at the thought of Sunny, eyes cast to the ceiling as her thoughts wandered. She loved Ollie, but there was something raw about the idea of losing the other boy, even though he wasn't really hers anymore and hadn't been in quite some time.
She quirked a teasing eyebrow as she returned to the present moment and the woman beside her.
"If I was going to do that, do you think it would be with anyone else than you? Whoever gave you your gossip needs glasses."
Selina’s mouth dropped open, “There's a guy around here with hair that long?!”
She linked her arm through Jess’s and pulled her in for a hug.  The other woman now wrapped up in her embrace.  Selina let her chin rest on her friend’s head as she stroked her hair.  “You feel happier.  Content.  Like you're just drifting along.  I know you loved Sunny in your own way, but this is different.  It's the,” she ran a hand up and down Jess’s body without touching it, “this.  Papa would call it your aura.”
Jess grinned. "I am. I'm really, really happy," she answered dreamily. "Ollie's a really sweet guy. But only here for the summer…"
She swallowed down the lingering bitter taste her argument with Ollie the previous morning had left in her mouth, not wanting to burden the conversation with her fears. Especially not when she still had so many questions of her own.
"But don't think asking about my love life is going to get you out of explaining yourself, missy." She teased.
Selina sat up, “Oliver Sway?!  Jessica!  Come on.  Any other Tom, Dick or asshole at this stupid lake.  Sunny.  Sunny’s RIGHT THERE.  Just grab him by the ankle and bring him back to Earth.  He needs you.”
She took a breath, “That.. harpie will tear you apart because you aren't good breeding.  It's Sway Lake because that's what those upper crust cunts hold over this entire town.  Sway.  Lakes dont belong to one family, they should belong to EVERY person.  Are Sunny and I the only ones NOT under this family’s curse?  First Tom, then Nikolai and now you.”
Selina’s voice was full of disappointment more than anger.  She looked at her hands.  Her palms, white and clean, were just caked brownish red not even an hour ago.  “It can't be the both of us.”
"Nikolai?!" Jess asked, staring for a moment before doubling over in laughter. "Oh god it all makes sense now."
She struggled to contain her laughter, gasping for air and wiping away the tears in her eyes from it.
"Fuck Charlotte Sway, I couldn't care less what she thinks," she said, sobering and then sighing. "It's not like I planned on falling in love with Ollie. But I did, and it kinda scares me. I really really don't want to lose him. And he hates her and the whole legacy bullshit as much as anyone. Let it all rot or burn or whatever."
Jess was silent for a moment. It was hard to say Selina was her only or even oldest friend. But they were best friends, for certain, and they knew everything about each other. There were even times when they were younger that Selina and Sunny had talked about soulmates and Jess had wondered if she were hers. Which is why her stomach twisted with guilt as she realized just how unsettled Selina was, and pretending not to be.
"But enough about me, it doesn't matter. Are you okay?"
Selina took Jess’s hand in hers.  She laced their fingers together and laid down again.  This time she and her friend were side by side.  She was certain no one in any spoken language had invented a word for what the two of them were.
Selina knew it was why Leon and Johnny always ended phone calls and visits with long hugs and I love yous.  Why Honey and Klaus showered each other with intimacy and affection Honey showed Leon.  Friendships that made people question your sexual intentions.  It was probably something in the Kostas skin, like a pheromone.
The 23 year old pushed the thought out of her mind that everyone around them was their friend because they didn't have a choice.  Instead she squeezed Jess’s hand.
“You know Honey, she holds grudges with a tight grip.  There's only two people she hates: Charlotte Sway and Reginald Hargreeves, and he's the one she really wants dead.  Charlie is lonely and miserable. That's punishment enough for Mama.  Papa always says she would make a great Mafia don. She DID like Tim Sway;
cried when he killed himself.  He wasn't even Charlot-”  Selina cut herself off.  “Either way Ollie must take after him then.  I hope he does.  I think we played together when we were little?”
She realized she was avoiding the question and wanted to deflect solely on Jess.  Sunny wasn't the only one who slept around up here, or had a weird effect.  Selina again panicked if maybe, somehow, what was in him was in her.  That the Russian on a canoe in the middle of the night would show up in the Village, screaming at her in the dead of night.  Some of the guys she fucked flopped around on top of Selina for a few minutes, got off while she stared at the ceiling.  Then they laid claim to her like any White guy who thought he owned someone else’s land.
“And don't laugh like that either!  I was doing my duty as a future nurse and helping someone who got hurt.”
She watched Jess cross her arms, even on her back.  She was giving Selina THAT stare.  Selina threw her hands up. “Ohhh,” she whined, ”I was swimming, floating really.  Probably out further than I should be in the middle of the night, but that fucking moon.  And there he was on his way to get rid of those horrendous jet skis of Jimmy’s.  And he was flirtatious and made me groan, but also laugh?”
Selina had pulled her knees up to her chest so she could hug them.  A far off look on her face.  “And he's very.. I didn't really pay attention to what he looked like.  WHO, right?  It was just this fire that went through me.  Like I knew him?
“Mama always talks about the day I was born and speaking into existence this notion. That every version of her will be loved by and love Papa.  She thought it was blood loss creating insanity, but Sunny and I had designs on a love like theirs.”
“And the way Nikolai made me feel, and the way he knew my body?  We didn't even fuck; not like that.  I haven't cum that hard or much ever.  Even by myself.”
“Then he got hurt, and I made Sunny take me to him.  Ollie had saved him, right?  As we're stitching him back together, I see his face.  That face I grew up with three times over.  He's fashioned for me, Jess.  Maybe like Ollie is for you.  But Nikolai is Leon and Nicklaus and Klaus and he's made to be mine.”
"No, no  I'm not laughing at that, or you," Jess promised. "Just...the first decent conversation Nikolai and I had, he mentioned meeting someone. Matching his description to you is what's funny. And the fact that you two are such opposites." Jess paused, smiling in fondness for both parties in question. "But it's safe to say he likes you, a lot."
She felt silly now, not putting it together sooner. After all, there was no one else in the world she could think more aptly described as a siren made of the moon. And as funny as it was on paper, something about Selina and Nikolai made sense.
 And, it made her heart beat giddily. Her faith in fate was complicated, but when it came to the Kostases, the concept was shockingly simple. And it seemed impossible that this was just coincidence, the four of them tied together like this.
'Or maybe,' she silently scolded, 'it's wishful thinking so you can tell yourself you're not being completely crazy.'
The rest of what Selina said registered belatedly and she blanched. "Wait. That was a lot of blood. Are you saying that it was all Nikolai's?"
“It was,” Selina replied softly.
"Jesus. What did he do, get in a knife fight?" Her voice was a mixture of concern and annoyance.
She could see Nikolai doing something like that, to defend his own pride which he deflected onto Ollie, or for some other stubborn, idiotic thing. And now that there were two people she loved who would get hurt if something happened to him, she made a note to have a little chat with him about being so reckless. And to find Ollie later to check on both boys.
"I know if he had you helping take care of him, I don't have to ask if he'll be alright." She nudged Selina teasingly with a shoulder, hoping to break up some of the heavy, contemplative air settling over them both.
“Knives don't cause QUITE as much damage as you think.  Unless you hit a vein.  Diego showed me how to do it effectively once.  Plus if he's like the others, Nikolai probably prefers fists to weapons.  Or the spider monkey sleeper-hold thing Klaus and Sunny do.  Although Papa stabbed Uncle Jonny once, it was just an artificial wound.”
Selina suddenly scooped Jess up in her arms so they could go back to a cuddle.  She tangled her legs and arms around Jess to sort of dominate her personal space.  Her forehead pressed into her friend’s neck.
“He and Jimmy got into it, and they were on the boat dock.  Nik slipped and hit his head.  Ollie swam for like, the first time ever to get him up into a boat.  Had pressure on it.  I just stitched him with fishing wire.  They'll do better at the ER.”
Selina sighed, “If he's like them he wouldn't die anyways.  Klaus died like twice in a few days, also head injuries?  Either way, Nikolai would’ve been fine without me.”
Then almost like an afterthought, “Did you say he talked to you about me?  Probably something about conquests and the Russian army.  But you!  YOU FELL IN LOVE this summer!  I got my pussy licked and think he's this mythical soulmate.  You're in actual, real love.”
Selina propped up on her elbow, “Have you slept together?  No I'm sorry,  YOU get to call it MAKING LOVE!!”  she burst into a fit of giggles around cheeks fired by jealousy.  “I am happy for you.  I promise.  I'm glad Sunny..  I'm just happy.”
"No, actually," Jess said, shifting around Selina so they tucked together more cleanly, like two matched puzzle pieces. This kind of closeness wasn't Jess's favorite thing, but Selina knew that, and Jess trusted that if she didn't need it, she wouldn't be initiating it. "It was surprisingly non-militant. And only one nautical reference."
Jess hesitated, remembering some of the incidents Selina had to deal with and one or two more from the summers that  Sunny, or Jess herself, had headed off before they got far enough to be a concern (or for Selina to even know). She wanted her friend to know just what Nikolai had said, and that he very much did not just see her as just some conquest. But the line between sweet and creepy was a hazy one at best. She brought one hand away from the tangle to fret the corner of her thumb between her teeth while she thought it over.
"I'm not saying I'm jealous...but I thought it was romantic. And dramatic of course, look who we're talking about. But dramatic isn't always bad. I wish you'd stop dismissing yourself like that. Soulmate or no, you have some sort of feelings for him which seem serious; one might call it a crush at least. And he made you feel good. He made you happy. You're allowed that. You deserve it. And now, for the moment if not more, you have it, savor it."
"As for Ollie and me..."
She froze, frowning as she struggled to figure out just what to say. There was a part of her that feared a reputation of some kind (even though it was just Ollie that she'd been a first time for, and Sunny, but he didn't count). And another part that wanted to keep it to herself, even though most of her wanted to share. She bit again at her thumb, searching for words.
"It's not that big of a deal?"
Selina bit her lip before a yawn escaped her.  “One: a crush is a crush because you can get hurt.  Otherwise, it would be called a cushion.  I think that's what Papa said once.  Or was it Klaus?”
Selina closed her eyes now. “Either way, it's a very big deal!  I can feel the difference in you.  I want you to be in love.  To maybe leave Sway Lake.  Come back to the city with me?  Close up this place for a few months.  You can live with me.  Or Oliver for a little while. Oh lovely little Oliver making my sweet Jessica come ‘round again.  All your sadness and little pieces everywhere.  I couldn't stitch you back together with fishing wire, could I?  I shouldn't have let Sunny break your heart.  I just didn't want being around me to remind you of him.  I'm sorry.  But Ollie.. he’ll..  Sorry, I think I'm a bit delirious from adrenaline?  Mind if I nap a bit?”
But Selina was fast asleep before Jess could give permission.
Jess shook her head with a smile, carefully extricating herself and tucking her friend into the bed. Selina had given her a lot to think about.

ok so im not a JJK fan so i dont even know much about these characters im just going off by what some mutuals post, but how about Gojo x Utahime for First Time Getting Lost?
Tumblr media
First Argument
Pairing: Satoru Gojo/Utahime Iori
Fandom: Jujutsu Kaisen
Words: 818
“And this,” Suguru Geto said, following his and Shoko’s introductions, “is Satoru.”
Utahime’s smile brightened as she swept her gaze upward, taking in the impressive height of the third Jujutsu High student to step forward for the exchange event. His shining white hair fell like a feathery fringe over his black-lensed sunglasses, just above his glossy smile. He looked suave and confident as he stood there, but Utahime wouldn’t expect anything different from the Gojo clan boy who wielded both Infinity and the Six Eyes. She felt heat rise to her cheeks, even prickling the fresh scar covering the bridge of her nose. She extended her hand forward and then inhaled deeply as Gojo Satoru took it into his firm, warm grasp.
“Of course,” Utahime said with a coy smile as Gojo released the handshake, “I know who he is. Everyone in the jujutsu world knows who Gojo Satoru is.”
“Because of my good looks?” Gojo said, grin broadening as he pinched his chin between the long fingers that had just shaken Utahime’s hand. “Or because of my power?”
“W-well, because of your power!” Utahime blinked rapidly, flustered. “I didn’t know how good-looking you were until n–”
The moment she recognized the amused slant of Gojo’s lips, Utahime smacked her hands over her mouth, stopping it from running over any more than it already was. His rumble of laughter would’ve been attractive to her, but the knowledge that he was mocking her took away from that.
“You see,” Gojo continued as if there’d never been a break in their conversation, “because that explains why I don’t know your name. You look weak.”
Utahime shrieked. “What?”
Gojo nodded. “Very weak. Are you sure you belong here?”
“Gojo!” Shoko hissed, prodding him with an elbow.
Gojo didn’t even flinch. It was just as they said. He was untouchable when he used Infinity. He would be impossible to beat in this exchange event and he knew it. Utahime’s face burned, reddening from anger. He didn’t have to be such a jerk! Utahime and her classmates were strong. Just because they weren’t on the level of a guy blessed from birth with talents no one else would ever possess didn’t mean she deserved to be demeaned the moment she kindly introduced herself to this smug prick.
“I’m sorry for my classmate,” Suguru Geto said with an apologetic smile.
Utahime growled and stepped past him to prod her finger at Gojo, knowing she wouldn’t make contact but not caring. All that mattered was that he felt the weight of her threat.
“I am Utahime Iori!” she said, snapping her gaze up at him and refusing to let their height difference overwhelm her any more than their power difference. “I am a jujutsu sorcerer and I will kick your ass in this event!”
She didn’t have a chance. Even as she gulped and locked her gaze on Gojo’s black lenses, Utahime knew her words were empty. The conviction behind her threat was real, though. She was going to give it everything she had out there today, taking down as many curses as she could before the Jujutsu High students could get to them.
Gojo raised a brow before lifting his hand toward his face. The movement drew a startled gasp from Utahime, causing her to step back as he slid his glasses down the bridge of his nose, exposing shimmering blue eyes to Utahime’s gaze. Her breath caught as she took in the sight of his stunning eyes, hating the fact that a man so absolutely gorgeous had to have such a shitty personality.
“Well then,” Gojo drawled, lips spreading into a grin, “I’ll enjoy watching you try.”
Utahime pressed her lips together and curled her fists by her sides as Gojo lifted his sunglasses back into place. He was still mocking her. But his words felt like an invitation to impress him. She hadn’t proven her strength. Most likely, this event would only prove how right he was about their power difference. But she wouldn’t disappoint him. She wouldn’t disappoint herself. The display she was about to put on was going to be enough to impress the Satoru Gojo. He could insult her lack of power all he wanted, but it would be Utahime in the end who won this argument. No one would tell her she didn’t belong here, not even the handsome bastard too gifted to understand how hard the rest of them had to fight to be here.
She rolled back her sleeves and lifted her fists. “Bring it on, Jerk!”
Gojo’s answering smile was all the ammunition she needed. He was so smug that he wasn’t even arguing with her. He was infuriating. This was why he had to go down. This was why, in spite of the fact that Utahime already knew she’d lose against him, she would never stop fighting him to the best of her ability.

A Phony Boyfriend
After moving into the dorms, class 1-A discovers that Bakugo is constantly on his phone. This leads to them discovering he has a boyfriend and going on a quest to find out as much as they can while Bakugo comes to terms with the fact that High School will be different than Middle School as well as his internalized homophobia.
On AO3.
Ships: Bakudeku
Warnings: mentions of past homophobia, internalized homophobia and fear of homophobia (no one is mean to them, dont worry)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since moving into the dorms they had learned a lot about the others that they had not realized before.
Sato could bake really well, Iida had a really strict and strange work out routine, Jiro always had music in when she cooked, Momo liked tea, especially fancy tea, and Bakugo was completely glued to his phone after school.
The last one was very surprising, since Bakugo had never seemed like a phone person, usually ignoring texts and calls and never having his phone in class.
However, since they lived with him it became apparent that he was prone to typing away on his phone and ignoring everyone else in the room. He was still strict to himself about phone usage during school hours, but after school was out, it was fair game.
Naturally this made them curious to what their explosive classmate was doing on his phone, so after a few weeks Hagekure cracked. She fell on the couch next to Bakugo and asked: “What you doing?”
“Nothing,” Bakugo grumbled.
“Doesn’t look like nothing to me,” she replied innocently.
Bakugo rolled his eyes and said: “Just messaging people and stuff,” before going back to ignoring her.
“Your parents?” she asked, she was gaining an audience and she wanted to deliver as the person who had been brave enough to ask what all had been wondering.
“No,” was Bakugo’s curt response.
Hagakure’s eyes lit up and she sat up in excitement and asked: “A girlfriend?”
Bakugo wrinkled his nose and again said: “No.”
At this point Mina joined the conversation, as a patented pansexual, she felt this shouldn’t be the end of the investigation. So she asked: “A boyfriend, maybe?”
The effect was instant. Bakugo’s stilled and he stopped typing as he avoided their gazes even more than before and a light blush spread across his cheeks. His scowl deepened and he growled: “Shut the fuck up.”
It didn’t work, because the two girls gasped as they exclaimed: “Oh my god!” and “You have a boyfriend?”
“I said shut up,” Bakugo yelled, blushing even harder.
“But that’s so cute,” Hagakure whined, “You have to tell us more.”
“Yeah, Bakugo, you can’t leave us hanging after a revelation like that,” Mina pouted.
“I can and I will, now leave me alone,” Bakugo said, getting up.
“You’re not even going to tell us his name?” she asked.
“No,” Bakugo stomped off, his fingers once again dancing over the keyboard.
The two pouted harder, but didn’t pester him more. They were beyond curious, but also weren’t about to pry in their classmate’s life if he was uncomfortable with it. Still that didn’t stop them from theorizing.
“What do you think is his type?” Mina asked first.
“Probably tough and mean,” Hagakure replied, “They probably do stuff like boxing together and yell at movies.”
“Yeah, or they throw rocks and stuff,” Mina added.
“First off, this is such a weird thing to talk about,” Kirishima interrupted, “Second off, you two have no clue what people do on dates.”
“Oh, and you do, Eijiro?” Mina asked, “Do tell what you think Bakugo and his mystery boyfriend do on their dates.”
“Probably normal stuff, like drinking coffee and talking,” Kirishima shrugged, “I never really thought about my friend’s dating life.”
“You’re not even a but curious?” Hagakure asked.
“Of course I am, I’m just not going to theorize about it,” Kirishima said.
“Boring,” Mina booed, “Kaminari, Sero, Jirowhat do you think?”
“I think Bakugo would be surprisingly romantic,” said Kaminari.
“And I think you finally lost the last of your brain cells, Kaminari,” Mina jeered.
“That does seem unlikely,” Hagakure agreed.
Sero thought about it, then said: “I think he’s more of grand and flashy stuff, like his quirk. Maybe he does the flowers and stuff.”
“Where are the explosions here!” Mina complained.
“I don’t think he’s exploding his boyfriend, Mina,” Jiro pointed out.
While downstairs they were arguing about whether or not Bakugo would use explosions to be romantic, Bakugo himself was in his bedroom, panicking and calling Izu. “It must suck that you didn’t get to tell them in your own time, Kacchan,” Izu said, “But they sound like they reacted well, right?”
“I mean, yes, but what if they think it’s gross?”
“Kacchan, don’t call us gross,” Izu said sternly, “I thought you were getting better with the internalized stuff.”
“I know, I know, just- Ugh!” Kacchan let out a cry of frustration.
“It’s okay, Kacchan, I love you.”
And wasn’t that a soothing balm on all the turmoil in his brain. He couldn't help, but smile as he returned the sentiment: “I love you too, Izu.” Apause. “I’m sorry about freaking out on you, I truly love you, but I just panicked, because the class has been really cool and it would suck if they turned out to- you know?”
“I know, Kacchan, I understand,” Izu said, “But they sounded like they were cool, don’t ruin it for yourself for the small chance that they do. You’re amazing, they just have to deal with it.”
“I hate it when you’re right,” Kacchan sighed.
“Damn, I didn’t know my own boyfriend hated me all the time,” Izu teased.
“Shut up, you shitty nerd.”
“Never, Kacchan.”
“Good.” It was quiet for a moment, then Kacchan said: “I’m probably overreacting. I know that Kirishima is cool. He has two moms, loves them to death.”
“There you go,” Izu encouraged, “I like Kirishima from what you told me, he’ll be on your side if anyone’s a dick about it.”
“Yeah, yeah, he is, the idiot,” Kacchan said fondly.
“I’m so glad you made friends.”
“Oi, what’s that supposed to mean? I can make friends.”
“Everyone at kindergarten was afraid of you, Kacchan.”
“You weren’t and I bet it wasn’t everyone.”
“Okay, okay, but you can be an acquired taste,” Izu conceded, “What I meant to say is that I’m glad you have people in your corner, Kacchan. You know. Now that I can’t be there with you all the time. Or hardly any time.”
Kacchan nodded, he knew how worried Izu could get about stuff and he knew what the underlying message was. He replied: “I miss you too, Izu.”
There was a small little content huff from the other side of the line, then Izu said: “I have to go eat now, Kacchan. Update me on if it goes well, okay? I love you.”
“Love you,” Kacchan said right before the line went dead. He looked at the clock and groaned, he really should be going down for dinner as well.
On a logical level, he knew most – if not all – of class 1-A would be cool about him being gay and having a boyfriend, but a small part worried that his friends would fall away and turn on him, like they’d done in Middle School.
So with slight apprehension, he made his way downstairs.
Nothing seemed out of the ordinary with some bustling about to make everyone dinner and to set the table, where some were trying to quickly finish some homework. It was normal, peaceful and Bakugo was dreading its end.
Kirishima noticed him first and waved: “Oi, Bakubro, can you help me with this Math problem, Mina is being mean about it.”
“I’m not mean, he’s just stupid,” Mina protested.
All had decided to drop the subject of the mystery boyfriend for now. Especially after they’d gotten a lecture from Iida about prying into people’s business and when Fumikage had said: “Dark, the mind can be, when demons of the past have not yet been dismissed.”
It made them realize that maybe Bakugo wasn’t comfortable with the revelation and it had made them feel terrible.
So, they didn’t say a thing.
Cautiously Bakugo made his way over to Kirishima, trying to see if this was a set up or if they had really blessed him with silence.
Kirishima was really struggling with a Math problem. Bakugo knew it wasn’t a set up both because Kirishima would be too honest for it and because it was a problem he had struggled with in the past and could never seem to get.
Beside him Mina was painting her nails. Bakugo saw that her thumb and pinky were black, but the other fingers were painted in the pan flag colors. A bit of relief, loosened in his chest.
Mina saw him looking and smiled, before winking and going back to work on her other hand, while Bakugo explained to Kirishima again that if a full circle was 360 degree, half a circle would be 180 degrees, so the triangle corner couldn't be more than a 180 degrees.
During dinner it was as peaceful as it would get and Bakugo felt himself relaxing.
He didn’t stick around to figure out if the peace would last, instead fleeing to the patio out front and leaning against the wall as he watched the stars. Silently he wished Izu could be there with him and point out the constellations.
His peace was in the end broken by Kirishima, who lowered himself next to Bakugo. He was quiet for a moment, then asked: “Is he treating you right?”
“What?” Bakugo couldn't help but be slightly confused.
“The boyfriend, is he good to you?” Kirishima asked.
“Are you going to defend my honor otherwise or something,” Bakugo rolled his eyes, immensely surprised when Kirishima’s response was: “Yes, if I have to.”
It touched Bakugo’s heart in a way he wasn’t ready to deal with so he just softly said: “He is. Good, I mean. He’s very good. The best, actually. Maybe a bit better than the best.”
That made Kirishima smile. He liked that his friend had someone in his corner, who wasn’t in the middle of the chaos that was their life and could support him. He nodded: “That’s good to hear, Bakubro. I’m happy for you.”
After that it was quiet.
Then, in the softest voice, which was so vulnerable that it broke Kirishima’s heart in little pieces while simultaneously it made him want to punch someone, Bakugo asked: “You are?”
“Yeah, of course, what else should I be?”
“I- I don’t know, disappointed? Angry?” Bakugo sounded helpless in his own confusion.
“Why?”
“That it’s a he.”
Kirishima hated how quickly Bakugo had the answer to that question, so he pulled Bakugo into a side hug and said: “I will never be angry or disappointed because of that. I swear it. And no one else will be either, and if they are they’ll deal with my fists and then with the principle.”
“Thank you,” Bakugo whispered.
“No problem,” Kirishima said back.
They sat there for a moment, then Kirishima confessed: “I’ve been send by the others, because I was least likely to get blown to bits. Uhm, most wanted to say sorry for prying and also that they support you.”
Bakugo chuckled at that. In the silence he had come to terms with the fact that High School might be different and an elated feeling had loosened in his chest. He grinned: “That’s good. Did they also send you to spy?”
Kirishima blushed and quickly said: “I wasn’t going to.”
“So yes?”
“Yes.”
“Well, tell them thanks and also that it’s none of their business, but also that they will catch my hands if I hear them badmouthing him, because he’s an angel.”
“I will,” Kirishima rolled his eyes, then got up, “I’ll give you your time here. Don’t stay out too late.”
“Yes, mom,” Bakugo stuck out his tongue and got a similar gesture in return.
In the end no one saw Bakugo until the next morning, where he pretended nothing had ever happened. Though he did carry himself more lightly and Mina spotted a small rainbow key chain on his bag, which made her smile.
But since he wasn’t acknowledging it any further, neither were they. They would keep their silence until Bakugo was ready to talk about it.
However, they were also way too curious about the mysterious boy that had managed to captivate the most stand-off and anti-social person in their class. The one who had the hardest time befriending people.
He should be lucky they lasted two weeks.
After those two weeks they couldn't take it anymore. So, when Bakugo was once again typing away on his phone Mina exclaimed: “I can’t do this anymore, Bakugo you have to tell me more about your secret boyfriend. I demand to know as fellow queer in crime.”
“You demand to know as nosy asshole, raccoon,” Bakugo retorted.
“Then I demand to know as nosy asshole, just tell me something, anything,” she practically begged.
“Well, if you must know, we’re talking about All Might,” he told her.
“Is he a fan?” Mina would take any bit of information and she watched in wonder as something in Bakugo’s face turned gentle and a smile creeped up his face. He nodded: “The biggest one out there, the idiot.”
“Does he want to be a hero too?” she asked.
“Nah,” Bakugo said, “He wanted to, for a long time, but he’s actually on his way to become a nurse, specializing in hero incidents and support. Always talking about being my back up and making sure I don’t die from recklessness.”
Mina couldn't help but smile at the fond tone in Bakugo’s voice and she mentally adjusted the picture of rough-stone-throwing-hooligan to a softer yet strong teen, who carried an injured Bakugo through the streets.
“That’s so cute,” she squealed.
Bakugo rolled his eyes at her reaction, but secretly agreed. It was very cute how worked up Izu would get over his safety and how he fussed over every little injury while scolding him.
Still, he didn’t give her more information than that, because Izu had finally finished typing his half analysis, half rant over the latest All Might incident report. He was arguing that All Might was loosing power, which Bakugo thought was kinda stupid, so he had to go an tell him that.
With Mina not being completely shut down, the floodgates opened with Hagakure asking about Izu when they were sitting on the couch and Sero during lunch, while others also tried to get a bit of information out of him.
All curious about Izu.
Bakugo would never admit it to another breathing soul, except Izu, but he was touched that they cared so much. That they weren’t trying to ignore the gay part, but were actively trying to learn more about it.
“Then why don’t you say anything, Kacchan?” Izu asked after he had told him about it.
“Because I like having you for myself,” Kacchan pouted.
“Ahw, how sweet,” Izu smiled, he liked how Kacchan would say the most romantic things, just because he was honest at heart and meant it.
“Oh, shut up.”
“No, but Kacchan, it was super sweet, I like the idea of a secret romance, it’s very cute,” he smiled, “But I’m afraid you’ll have to do it by yourself, I showed my friends pictures of you and they follow me online.”
“So you do care about me,” Kacchan teased, knowing how much the other did.
“Of course, I do. You’re the greatest and I love you very much.”
“Love you too.”
“Did you manage to get permission to leave next weekend? Because I can make it home as well and mom promised she’ll make both curry and katsudon, if you come over,” Izu said.
“I still have to hear back from Aizawa-sensei,” he replied, “But I really want to. I need to ask auntie her recipe, mine hasn’t been turning out like hers.”
“You made curry?”
“Yeah, it was my turn to cook and I wanted curry,” Kacchan shrugged.
“That’s so funny to picture,” Izu giggled.
The sound of his boyfriend’s giggles made his heart lighter, but he still said: “Oi, what’s that supposed to mean, I’m a good cook!”
“I guess you’ll have to show me sometime.”
“I will, just you wait.”
“Looking forward to it.” There was a short lull in conversation, then Izu asked: “Have you been eating alright? Since you have to cook, are the others doing their part? A good diet is important, especially with all the physical stuff you have to do. We’re currently having a nutrition course and I’m worried about you.”
“I’m eating fine, Izu, promise,” Kacchan said, “There have been a few we had to ban from the kitchen, but we’re eating fine. I was about to grab a snack actually.”
“Good to hear. What are you grabbing?”
“I don’t know yet. And I’m not grabbing it just now, I’m still talking to you and that’s way more fun.”
“Why can’t you do both?”
“What?”
“I mean, I think I can survive it if you grab a snack while talking to me, Kacchan. I believe in your multitasking skills.”
“That’s not the concern, Izu,” Kacchan whined.
“Ahw, come on. Pretty please, Kacchan? I can help you pick a snack! I have my notes here, I know everything about ultimate snacking,” Izu was starting to get excited, “Just tell me what you’ve eaten and I’ll figure out what nutrients you missed today. They gave us charts.”
Kacchan knew the moment that hint of excitement crept into Izu’s voice, he would be sold. He just couldn't say no to that, so he relented: “Okay, okay,” before telling Izu what he wanted to know and going to the kitchen.
A few of his classmates that were still left at that hour looked up when he entered, some raising their brow at the phone squished between his shoulder and ear. To those he gave a middle finger, because he was too busy listening to Izu ramble to want to talk to them.
“So, what options do we have?” Izu’s voice rang in his ear.
“Got some leftover rice, pocky, umeboshi, some peaches and taiyaki,” he listed, “And like condiments and raw stuff, but I’m not cooking.”
As the only one of their friends here Kaminari was listening in and getting more confused by the second. Why would Bakugo be listing what they had in their kitchen of all things?
Kacchan waited as he listened, before saying: “Oh, really?”
His voice was genuine as if he was interested in the answer he received. He grabbed the rice and listened to whatever the person on the other side of the line was saying.
Then Kacchan said: “You’d do that for me?” a beat, “Wait, wait a second, idiot. I don’t have anything to write here. No, you don’t have to type it out, I can write,” then he hurried up the stairs with his bowl.
The next morning Kaminari asked what that was about and Bakugo shrugged: “Izu’s taking a course about nutrients, he made me an eating chart.”
“Izu?” Kaminari repeated, thinking it was a professional Bakugo went to to stay in shape. He didn’t think it improbably that Bakugo would call a professional idiot.
But then Bakugo blushed and cursed slightly and even Kaminari could put together who the name actually belonged to.
His eyes went wide with the realization.
Bakugo had been secretive about his boyfriend, telling everyone to stop being nosy dicks, which did not at all discourage anyone from trying to find out more, curiosity being fulled by mystery.
Kaminari did the smart thing and stopped talking, only mentioning it to the other during lunch, which surprisingly Bakugo did nothing with.
He didn’t mind that much, he was just scared that if ‘boyfriend’ actually became a person, people would freak out, but so far they all had been nice and Izu was encouraging him to get out of his shell and find confidence in who he was. He also felt like Izu deserved all the praise and not someone who he thought was ashamed of him.
Because he wasn’t.
Bakugo was incredibly proud of his boyfriend, who was not only a lovely and amazing person, but also very talented and deeply caring, while managing to be smart on top of it all.
So when during lunch Kaminari - albeit with an apologetic look - asked: “Izu pick that out for you?” he just sighed, before nodding.
Mina perked up immediately and looked between Bakugo and Kaminari, then back, before her eyes got big with excitement and she asked: “Izu is your boyfriend’s name?”
Deciding to just give in on that point, he explained: “Yeah, well, it’s- it’s a nickname, but it feels weird to say his full name.”
“And I’m guessing you’re not going to give us his full name so we can look him up,” she pouted, already scrolling through the location tag of Bakugo’s home to see if she could find a username with Izu in it.
“No,” Bakugo chuckled, “And you’re not finding him there either. He’s in Tokyo right now.”
“Oh, yeah, he’s becoming a nurse right?” Kirishima recalled.
“Isn’t there that really big nursing school in Tokyo?” Jiro commented, “I heard it’s very prestigious.”
“It is,” Bakugo bragged, “Izu got in top of his class.”
“That’s so cool,” Kaminari said, “Your eating schedule must be super good then.”
Bakugo nodded: “Yeah, he was already working on it. He picked me to focus on for the hero they would have to make a schedule for. He’s an idiot, but it’s sweet, I guess.”
“Ahww,” some of the others commented, before the conversation moved on from there.
He was in a good mood with his friends remembering stuff he’d told them and getting to brag about his boyfriend a bit. A boyfriend that he would probably see that weekend.
The very next day that was gone, he came into class with Aizawa, arguing with his teacher: “You have to let me go, sir. Why can’t I go? Please, you don’t understand.”
“I understand Bakugo, but whatever you have planned can wait another week,” Aizawa said.
“It can’t, it has to be this week.”
“Then I’m very sorry for you, but too many students are already leaving, there just isn’t a spot free. It happens,” Aizawa explained.
“But sir-”
“No, Bakugo, end of discussion,” Aizawa cut him off, leaving Bakugo frustrated and upset. He had his fist and jaw clenched and he was hunched in a fighting stand while simultaneously managing to look very small.
“Bakubro?” Kirishima asked tentatively, “What happened?”
He didn’t want to be this upset, but he had fucking missed Izu so much and he had been looking forwards to it and then it had been crushed right before his eyes. Much to his horror tears were beginning to gather in his eyes.
“Bro?” Kirishima asked again.
“I can’t go home this weekend,” he finally managed to get out, fighting off the tears, “Izu gets to go home too this weekend and we were going to spend it together. I- I just want to see him again, but the spots to go home for the weekend are already full.”
“Oh, Bakugo, that must suck so hard,” Mina sympathized.
Others had similar sentiments, no one had ever seen the explosive blond like that. Then help came from the most unlikely source, Todoroki. He said: “You can have my slot.”
“Really?” Bakugo asked, not even insulting the other boy.
Todorokithought of the awkward and painful family dinner he would have to attend, before nodding firmly: “Yeah, I have nothing important. It can be rescheduled easily.”
“Thank you, Icy-Hot,” Bakugo grinned, lighting up immediately.
Henodded back and that was the end of the conversation.
The weekend came and Bakugo practically ran out of the dorm Friday afternoon, yelling a quick goodbye and muttering something about train arrivals when he passed.
He was on time for the train, even managing to snatch up some flowers on his way to the station and before he knew it, he had an excited green haired boy in his arms again.
It all passed by much faster than Bakugo wanted and before he knew it he was walking back into UA with only memories of doing homework together, picnicking in the park they used to explore as kids, whispering till deep in the night and laughing together in the kitchen.
When he got back the others noticed how he carried himself slightly different and they tried to pry details out of during lunch. He told them nothing more besides: “It was fun.”
Until they were in the dorms and Bakugo walked up to Todoroki, obviously not wanting to, with something in his hands. He trusted out a little packed and said: “Izu would be mad if I didn’t give these to you. They’re a thank you for giving up your spot.”
“Oh, uhm, thank you…” Todoroki said, inspecting the packet.
“They’re cookies, dumbass. You’ve seen those before,” Bakugo snapped.
Mina jumped on his back and cooed: “Ahw, did Izu make cookies.”
“More, me and auntie,” Bakugo snorted, “Izu can do much, but he’s a disaster in the kitchen. He manged to burn water once, that was an experience.”
“I didn’t know you can bake,” Sero said.
“It’s not really I do often and auntie is better at it, I just know how not to burn stuff,” Bakugo shrugged.
“The opposite of your quirk,” Kaminari joked, getting some laughs.
“But you and Izu baked together?” Mina got them back on topic, “What else did you do?”
“None of your business, raccoon,” Bakugo informed her, finally getting her off his back.
She shrugged: “Worth a try.”
“Can I see the cookies, Todoroki?” Hagakure asked.
“Oh, sure,” Todoroki showed her the cookies and she giggled: “They’re All Might shaped.”
“Really?” other went to go see and the cookies were indeed in the shape of All Might’s head with pink icing on it.
“It was the only one we had,” Bakugo blushed, omitting that there had been heart shaped ones as well and he had a packet of those himself that Izu decorated, while he had decorated the ones Izu had taken with him to Tokyo.
After the others tricked Todoroki out of most of his cookies, they went to get started on all the homework they’d gotten today.
Everyone had been nothing but positive about his boyfriend, even his self appointed nemesis had given up his own weekend home for him to go see Izu. With all the nice reactions, Bakugo was pretty certain it wouldn’t be a repeat of Middle School and was commenting more and more about things related to Izu.
He commented that Izu would have loved seeing everyone training to upgrade their quirk, because he loved quirks in general, but especially weaknesses and how they could turn on the user and how to avoid that.
And he explained that katsudon was Izu’s favourite food when they asked him how he’d gotten so good at making it.
But all the good things couldn't stop the bad nights that still plagued him.
So when he had awoken from a nightmare, he called Izu awake, knowing that the other told him to not feel guilty about and to just do it.
In the end he found himself on the kitchen floor, feeling much calmer while Izu finished his story of what a classmate had done that day. When he was done it was quiet for a moment, then Kacchan softly said: “Thank you, Izu.”
“Of course, Kacchan. Try to sleep, okay?” Izu replied, “I love you.”
“Love you too,” Kacchan returned, before hanging up.
After he’d hung up, he noticed a form in the doorway. He looked up and saw Kirishima standing in the doorway in his pajama pants. He looked like a deer in headlight and said: “I haven’t been listening in, I just got here.”
“It’s fine,” Bakugo sighed, “free world.”
“Hey, are you okay?” Kirishima noticed the state Bakugo was in.
“No, I just like calling my boyfriend in the middle of the night while he needs his rest as well for fun,” he said sarcastically.
“Oh, yeah, sorry.”
“Don’t worry, just tired,” Bakugo rubbed his eyes, regretting snapping at Kirishima, when the cheery boy was one of the last people to deserve it.
Kirishima sat down next to him and said: “It’s okay. I can’t imagine you’re here because you want to be.”
“Tell me about it,” Bakugo rolled his eyes, “I didn’t wake you up, did I?”
“Nah, I got thirsty,” Kirishima said, “Do you want to talk about what woke you up?”
“Not really, Izu already forced me to tell him that was enough for one night,” Bakugo told him, “I was gathering the energy to go back to sleep again.”
“Good that you’re at least talking to someone,” Kirishima said, “Here, I’m making us tea, then we’ll go back to bed together. Sound good?”
“Sounds perfect.”
They didn’t speak of the meeting the next morning nor after that, but Kirishima did take up the habit of asking Bakugo if he’d slept well, earning him an eyeroll and Bakugo telling he already had one mother hen in his life.
Though he did answer every time.
It was just life in the dorms. Everyone had gotten used to living with the others and slowly they were becoming more comfortable with each other and turning into a slightly dysfunctional and highly chaotic family.
Which meant that by the time Bakugo was comfortable calling Izu in the common area the others had no qualms about interrupting him.
He had called Izu more often, but usually walked out of the room after a few minutes. However that time period had become longer and longer and he had been talking to Izu for nearly 45 minutes already, mostly telling him about his own day and listening to Izu talk about his.
Right now the conversation had wondered to a recent villain take-down by The Lurkers and the strategy team up of Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods.
So, Mina walked over and whined: “This is boring, Bakugo. Here, gimme the phone,” as she grabbed for his phone.
He ducked and shouted: “Oi, raccoon, leave me the fuck alone.”
“But Bakugo, I wanna talk to Izu,” Mina pouted, grabbing for the phone again, “You’re being boring and it’s not fun to listen in if you’re talking about heroes. We already hear about heroes constantly.”
“You’re not talking to him, piss off,” Bakugo danced away from Mina’s hand, but she was on his tail and they were running around the table.
As they ran Izu’s confused voice came over the speaker: “Kacchan?”
“Sorry, Izu, I’m being chased!” Bakugo yelled.
“Are you okay?” Izu asked concerned.
“Yeah, just a raccoon on my tale.”
“I’m not a raccoon!”
“You mean Mina?” Izu laughed.
“Yes!” Bakugo yelpedright as he tripped onto the couch. Mina immediate took the chance and jumped to wrestle the phone out of his hands.
Success.
She ran off with her prize, holding the phone to her ear as she greeted: “Hi, Izu! I don’t know your full name, but I’m Mina, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Hi, Mina, I’m Izuku,” a light and friendly voice greeted her.
“Bakugo only ever gives us grains about you,” Mina said, “So, tell me more.”
“Oh, uhm, I- I don’t really know. I- uh, I like heroes, you were really cool at the sports festival, I was really rooting for you,” Izu answered, voice getting more steady once he got talking about her quirk, “I do hope you’re immune to your own acid or that would be a problem.”
“It’s not a problem, but it’s fun that your brain jumps to that with you becoming a hero nurse,” Mina said.
“Oh, haha, didn’t even realize that,” Izuku chuckled awkwardly.
At this point Bakugo had freed himself from Sero and Kaminari, who had aided Mina in her quest to talk to Izuku and was going after her again, while having the two boys on his own trail, who in turn had Kirishima after them to stop them from stopping Bakugo.
Mina set off running again, panting into the phone: “Your boyfriend is chasing me, help. What do I say to calm him down? You’re the Bakugo whisperer.”
Izuku laughed at that, before telling her to put him on speaker. She did and he called out: “Kacchan, Kacchan!”
“Nerd,” Bakugo yelled back, “Are you okay.”
“I’m fine, Kacchan,” Izuku shouted back, “It’s fun, come on, it’s not the end of the world. Pinky promise I won’t tell them about the ant incident.”
Bakugo stopped chasing Mina, much to her delight and surprise. He just walked over to her, no more threatening steps, and just said: “You promise?”
“I promise,” Izuku said, “You can put me on speaker and I can say hi to people. I heard so much about them, but never even said hi. Pretty please?”
“Okay, okay.”
Sero coughed: “Whipped,” and subsequently got an elbow in the side from Mina, who didn’t want this opportunity to get taken from her.
Bakugo took the phone back and walked to the couch, where he sat down. Mina, Hagaure, Kaminari, Sero and Kirishima all crouched around the phone and Jiro also made her way over from where she had been ignoring most of the chaos.
Izuku greeted everyone first: “Hi, I’m Midoriya Izuku, it’s nice to meet you all, whoever is there with Kacchan right now.”
Kaminari giggled: “Kacchan.”
“Shut up,” Bakugo blushed.
“I’m Kaminari Denki,” Kaminari ignored Bakugo.
“I m Kirishima Eijiro.” Kirishima said cheerily, “Hi!”
“Sero Hanta, nice to meet you.”
“And I’m Hagakure Toru, I’m so excited to hear from you.”
“Oh, and I’m Jiro Kyoka,” Jiro added.
“And I’m still here as well!” Mina said.
“Hello everyone,” there was clearly a smile in Midoriya’s voice, “I’ll try to remember all your names, some are familiar, so I think I’ll manage, but sorry if I mess up.”
“Of course, no problem,” Hagakure said.
“Do you have anything embarrassing about Bakugo we could use against him?” Kaminari asked.
“Probably,” Midoriya said, “Though, I don’t know if he’ll like metelling you. He can be a bit grumpy when I turn on him and I would like to keep my cuddle privileges.”
“I doubt you can loose them with how Bakugo raves on about you,” Kirishima said, hardening his side for the elbow he knew was coming.
“Ahw, he talks about me?” Midoriya said.
“It’s adorable,” Hagakure told him.
“That’s so nice to hear. He was really scared of opening up, it’s good that he’s comfortable around you all. You’re really good friends, even if he isn’t the best at telling you all,” Midoriya was audibly relieved and the ones around the phone were strangely proud of making that tone appear.
“And we’re glad he has you to talk to,” Kirishima added, “You sound really manly and cool, bro.”
“You guys done with your circle jerk,” Bakugo grouched.
“Don’t be mean, Kacchan,” Midoriya admonished.
“How did you two meet?” Mina asked, not minding a topic change.
“We’ve always known each other,” Midoriya said, “We lived in the same neighborhood and played in the same playground since we were little. High School is the first time we’ve been apart for so long ever.”
“Ahw, a childhood friends to lovers trope,” Hagakure gushed.
“Kind of, yeah,” Midoriya laughed.
“We still didn’t get the embarrassing stories,” Kaminari whined as Sero loudly agreed, much to Bakugo’s displeasure.
“Well, there was that time with the cold,” Midoriya mused.
“Izu, no,” Bakugo said horrified.
“Midoriya, please tell us!” the others cheered.
“Sorry, Kacchan, majority rules,” Midoriya said, a bit of little shit shining through, “So, Kacchan had a cold, but he came to school anyway, because he’s an idiot.”
“I take offense to that.”
“Than take offense, babe, it was stupid,” Midoriya shot back, “He had no voice at all left, Little Mermaid style, and was carrying around a notebook to communicate. He had a bit of a croak left, but he definitely shouldn’t be talking.”
They were all listening closely, except for Bakugo who was pouting and leaning back, but he wasn’t interrupting. He liked listening to Izu talk even if it was to embarrass him in front of his friends.
“But then some kids came up to me during recess,” Midoriya went on, “And they were calling me names, just being mean, not important.”
“It is important, they were dicks,” Bakugo groused.
“Yeah, Kacchan, I know, but it’s not now the point, don’t deflect,” Midoriya said, “So, Kacchan comes to save me, very sweet of him, my own prince in shining armor.”
Hagakure, Mina and Kirishima cooed at that.
“However, while it was very sweet, Kacchan had forgotten that he didn’t have a voice,” there was a bit laughter, “So, when he came running, yelling, there was no yelling, just a soft little long croak like so.”
Midoriya imitated a frog like croak, causing more laughter and giggles.
“And that wasn’t even the end, because the little croak didn’t stop him. He pushed them away and told them they were dick bags, but all that came out was bags,” Midoriya finished, “He was Mr. Bagsfor weeks.”
There were peels of laughter and chocked off repeated of ‘Mr. Bags’ while Bakugo pushed them away with a ‘shut up.’
“Tells us more, tell us more,” was chanted, but then a sort of loud alarm went of in the background.
Bakugo seized the phone and asked: “Are you okay, Izu?”
“I’m fine, Kacchan,” Midoriya didn’t sound shaken or scared, which calmed everyone, “It’s a training exercise. Some second years told me about it, it’s because you can’t count on normal hours when supporting heroes and they can need you at any moment. I have to go respond to the call. Talk to you later. It was nice to meet you all. Love you, Kacchan.”
“Love you too. Good luck,” Bakugo was just in time before Midoriya hung up.
It was quiet for a moment, then Kaminari chocked: “Kacchan,” and everyone lost it again.
“Oh, shut up, he started calling me that when we were like three,” Bakugo rolled his eyes, but he couldn't mind the laughter that much after talking with Izu and his friends being nice to his boyfriend after all the shit he had meeting new people.
“Midoriya is such a sweetheart,” Hagakure told him, “He’s such a pleasant person.”
“Yeah, not at all Mr. Stone Thrower, I imagined him to be,” Mina agreed.
“Stone thrower?” Bakugo frowned.
“You don’t wanna know,” Kirishima told him and Bakugo decided it would be better not to ask, so he just said: “Alright. But Izu isn’t that sweet. Well, he is, of course, but he can be a little shit. Didn’t you just hear him, be mean to me?”
“Ahw, little Kacchan has a boo-boo on his ego,” Kaminari managed before Bakugo jumped him.
“Don’t call me Kacchan,” he yelled.
“What else should we call you then,” Sero grinned from the couch, “Mr. Bags.”
“I hate you all!”
“But we’re really good friends, Bakubro,” Kirishima teased.
“Not you too. I’ll kill you,” Bakugo screamed, but no one could take his threats seriously after the sweet and kind voice of Midoriya had just told them how much Bakugo secretly cares about them and called him ‘Kacchan.’
Later Mina would pout and tell him she couldn't find Midoriya Izuku anywhere online and Bakugo would grin and shrug, not sharing that his boyfriend’s username was @AllMightssuperfan everywhere. Izu had been religious about online safety and had never shared his name on any of his accounts.
And the next time he was calling with Izu, multiple people told him to say hi, with Sero grinning: “Tell your nice half hi from me.”
He was glad that the others liked Izu. His boyfriend had had enough trouble with people being mean to him for no reason, but his friends had taken a liking to him almost instantly.
Though they seem to have a mental picture of Izu in which he was a sweetheart. This in itself wasn’t a lie, Izu was one of the kindest people Kacchan knew, but it wasn’t just kindness. The other could be ruthless if he was angry and was a bigger trouble magnet than Kacchan with a dose of little shit built in permanently.
Still, Bakugo was trying to think of a way to introduce his friends to his boyfriend, but with the safety measures surrounding UA that was more difficult than expected.
Luckily it soon happened by chance.
Class 1-A would be going to a training exercise in Tokyo, where they would learn to be mindful of property destruction and building safety.
The training exercise would have taught them how to spot when a building was about to fall, how certain walls and pillars were integral to the structure staying upright and how they could see if there were important electric wires or water lines in the ground.
However, it was Class 1-A and things never really went the way they wanted and planned, so naturally the class was attacked while at the training facility that lay between multiple schools in the area.
Though, since it was also Class 1-A they had enough experience to fight off the attack without any life-threatening injuries. So, they were only mildly scraped up and injured by the time they defeated the villains.
They were barely catching their breath when a form of green was running towards them, multiple people on their trail. As the person got closer they heard them yell: “Kacchaaaaan!!”
Bakugo whipped his head up and Kirishima, Mina and Jiro dredged themselves up into a protective stance at this newcomer, until Momo commented: “Huh, that’s the uniform of the nursing school nearby.”
That comment and name tickled something in the back of their minds, but they were tired and the pieces wouldn’t yet click.
The person was nearby and they saw it was a green haired boy with freckles and a face that was more prone to laughter even if it was frowning now. He shouldered past Kirishima and Mina, who were in his way more prominently, before kneeling next to Bakugo and grabbing the first aid kit that hung around his shoulder.
“Hey,” Kirishima said, though he didn’t stop the boy, seeing that he was friendly.
“Izu?” Bakugo said, horridly confused.
At that everyone turned and looked at the boy, wide eyes as finally it all added up. He had called Bakugo Kacchan and wore the uniform of a Tokyo nursing school. With Bakugo identifying him, it was easy to see that this was his boyfriend.
However, before any of the could react, Midoriya was scolding Bakugo: “You absolute, idiot. Do you know how worried I was? We got a warning there was a villain attack ongoing and then I heard yourexplosions and when I looked out the window I saw you fall. You know better than to go that high.”
“I’m sorry, Izu, but-”
“You can save your sorry, Kacchan,” Izu huffed, “Let me check you over first. Are there any spots you landed on or that ache?”
“My ribs,” Kacchan decided it was better to let his boyfriend fuss, feeling bad about worrying the already natural anxious boy.
The rest of the class stood in shocked silence at the interaction. Then the people following Midoriya arrived, apologizing to Aizawa as one explained: “Midoriya ran out before we could stop him, I apologize on his behalf as class president. We’re Class 1-A of Tokyo School of Nursing, nearby. We also came to help if needed, but we’re only first years.”
They showed their first aid kits and Aizawa said: “It’s fine, I suppose. Don’t cause any trouble. I’ll see if we can get police on sight and medical professionals with a license.”
“I’m sure a few of our teachers will be here soon, but we’ll see what we can do,” the class president bowed along with the other four students that had run after Midoriya, before setting to work, checking everyone over and tending to their wounds when possible.
Kirishima and Mina were being looked over, while gawking at Bakugo and Midoriya. Midoriya had checked over Bakugo’s ribs and bandaged them and was now cleaning the cuts on his face, while saying: “You’re going to be the death of me.”
“Sorry, Izu,” Kacchan replied, “I don’t mean to get caught up in these things.”
“I know and I’m going to have to get used to this, aren’t I?” Izu sniffled, “I just saw you fall and I reacted before I even knew.”
“Hey, I’ll be more careful, promise,” Kacchan said.
“You better, I’m telling on you to auntie next time I see her, maybe I’ll even call her tonight and next time you’re over we’re not eating curry,” Izu’s jaw set, “I’m pissed at you for throwing your life so easily in the balance. I thought your whole thing was to learn to save people, include yourself in the definition of people.”
“I do that!” Kacchan squawked indignantly.
“Sure, whatever you say, Kacchan,” Izu obviously didn’t believe him, “That’s why you always died a dramatic death every time we played hero.”
“You were just as dramatic, weeping over my death,” Kacchan protested.
“Of course, my knight in shining armor disappeared,” Izu laughed, “Now, you need to watch those wounds. I don’t think they need stitches, but I would advise against touching them and make sure they don’t start to get infected. The moment they show signs of swelling, discoloration or heating up, you go tell someone.”
Kacchan listened closely to the instructions and Izu finished: “Also try not to put any strain on your ribs. No sudden movements, no jumping, no twisting. Rest them. You hear me, Kacchan, rest.”
“Yeah,” Kacchan nodded, before smirking, “But you forgot something.”
“What?” Izu frowned, going over the steps mentally, trying to figure out what he skipped and how Kacchan would even know that.
“You still have to kiss it better,” Kacchan informed him with a grin.
Izu sighed, but there was a small smile playing around his lips as he said: “That’s not very professional, now is it, Mr. Bakugo?”
“I think you can hardly call that scolding you just gave me professional, angel,” Kacchan shot back.
“Touche,” Izu agreed, before leaning in and kissing the scrapes on Kacchans knuckles and cheek, before kissing him on his lips and whispering, “I’m not kissing your ribs in public.”
At that Kacchan blinked the dazed, sappy look out of his eyes and remembered his class was right there and he wasn’t alone with his boyfriend. With the elation of seeing Izu wearing off and making way for embarrassment, he blushed heavily.
“Ahw, blush-y Kacchan, so cute,” Izu commented, not at all feeling bad for his boyfriend’s embarrassment.
Mina practically skipped forward when the student tending to the gash in her arm finally let her go. She stuck out her hand: “I’m Ashido Mina, we met on the phone, I believe.”
“Midoriya Izuku, you’d be correct,” Midoriya smiled, shaking her hand, “Kacchan really told me so much about you all, it’s nice to finally meet you in person.”
“And I’m Kirishima Eijiro,” Kirishima wanted to make contact, before either Bakugo or Aizawa dragged them away.
“Oh, hi!” Midoriya said, “Kacchan was right about the hair being dramatic, I like your costume. It fits really well.”
“Ah, thanks,” Kirishima blushed, “It’s Crimson Riot inspired.”
“You’re a fan?” Midoriya asked, “Good choice, he’s great. Him during All Mights Silver Age was unrivaled. Their team up was so cool.”
“I know right,” Kirishima was glad someone saw how right his opinion was.
“Enough boring bullshit,” Mina pushed him away, “I want to get your social media @ because I couldn't find you anywhere.”
“Ah, yeah, sorry,” Midoriya rubbed the back of his head, “It’s @AllMightssuperfan.”
She quickly typed something, before grinning: “Now I’m following you. I have to say it’s been a trip to meet you.”
“I can imagine thatno one thought this would be the meeting, yes,” Midoriya smiled.
Bakugo walked up behind him, not liking his boyfriend leaving him for his friends. He put his head on Midoriya’s shoulder and wrapped his arms around Midoriya’s waist, not letting up his scowl as he said: “You’re also an idiot for running towards an active attack.”
“It was already ending by the time I arrived,” Midoriya waved it away.
“I can still be mad about that,” Bakugo pouted.
“Suppose you can,” Midoriya shrugged, leaning his head against Bakugo’s, “I will try to be more careful, but just as your job is going to become running into danger, mine is going to be running after you.”
“Ahww,” Hagakure gushed, finally having made her way over to the other.
Midoriya looked confused for a moment at the sound of a new voice before he spotted the gloves, then he greeted: “You must be Hagakure Toru.”
“I am!”
“You’re not injured are you?” Midoriya frowned, “It would be hard to see if you’re hit.”
“Ah, yes, it would,” Hagakure said, “But don’t worry, I’m fine!”
“That’s good to hear,” Midoriya smiled, before he mused to himself, “There isn’t really much training about what to do when you can’t see the patient, say that she ever gets knocked unconscious.”
“Stop mumbling, Izu,” Bakugo snapped him out of it.
“Oh, sorry, I get caught up in my head,” Midoriya apologized.
But before he could get back to talking with Bakugo’s classmates a severe looking lady sternly called out: “Midoriya Izuku, come here right now.”
Midoriya stiffened, before whispering: “That’s my homeroom teacher. Sorry, gotta go,” the he hurried over to the lady.
She put her hands on her hips, before scolding: “What on earth were you thinking, running off in the middle of class like that? Towards a fight, no less. That was very dangerous young man and you will be punished accordingly.”
“Sorry, sensei,” Midoriya said softly, then he looked up defiantly, “But I still stand by my decision to run.”
“What?” the teacher exclaimed, along with a few bystanders.
Kirishima hissed into Bakugo’s ear: “What is he doing? He’s already in trouble.”
Bakugo smiled, looking a bit proud, then answered: “He might be an idiot, but he is an idiot with a heart. If he thinks he did the right thing, he will stand by it.”
“If we’re just going of response,” Midoriya indeed defended himself, “I was here first. Actual licensed medical professionals had to be called after the fact. You always press how importance time is and how it can save or costs life, sensei. We got extra experience and ensured that if there had been serious injuries, we could hold down the fort until an ambulance got here.”
The teacher hesitated, then her shoulders sagged slightly. She smiled gently then said: “I appreciate your fire, Midoriya. Still we’re responsible for you and this was a very dangerous thing to do. You could have been hurt as well.”
“I wouldn’t, Kacchan would have protected me,” Midoriya stated as if it was a fact, “But I understand, sensei. I will accept any punishment you see fit and I will try not to do it again.”
“That’s all I can ask,” the teacher said, she understood a bit better, having heard the nickname ‘Kacchan’ many times when her students could talk during her classes.
“Kacchan?” Aizawa asked, having joined the teacher to also scold the boy, “You mean Bakugo Katsuki?”
“Yes, I’m his boyfriend,” Midoriya smiled sweetly, making Bakugo blush when Aizawa looked his way and as his friends jeered.
“Well, then I think you’re quite right in your assessment of the Problem Child,” Aizawa said, “But it was still dangerous.”
“I understand, Eraser Head,” Midoriya bowed again, “Still, thank you for keeping him safe and not turning away our help.”
“And thank you for your help, despite the illogical reason behind it,” Aizawa said, “Now, I want to speak to your teacher, so enjoy the time with Bakugo, please do not do anything more stupid and stay in sight.”
Midoriya blushed, but said nothing, just bowing before rushing back to Bakugo.
“I would have protected you, would I?” Bakugo teased when he returned.
“Shut up, you would,” Midoriya pouted.
“Yeah, I would,” Bakugo said proudly.
“You actually talked back to Aizawa,” Kirishima said and Hagakure asked: “Weren’t you scared? He’s so intimidating at first.”
“It was terrifying, I don’t know why I did that,” Midoriya’s face was anxiety filled.
“Because you knew you were right,” Bakugo said, kissing his forehead, “You did well standing up for yourself. Hope you won’t be in too much trouble.”
Midoriya smiled at Bakugo’s encouragement. He waved the concern away: “Sensei is more bark than bite. She looks sterner than she is, she was just concerned after I ran out of class.”
“I can understand that,” Hagakure said.
“So manly,” Kirishima commented.
At that Midoriya giggled: “You actually do say it. I thought Kacchan was being dramatic about it. Sorry that sounded rude, I think it’s fun actually.”
“He talks about us?” Mina asked.
“Of course,” Midoriya sounded surprised at the question, “He talks about everyone in your class. It’s sometimes like I know all of you already. I’m very impressed with how far all of you’ve come in comparison to the start of the year. Kacchan tells me how hard you all work.”
Mina pulled him into a hug and said: “You’re so cute, Midoriya. I am so messaging you online, we need to be friends.”
“I’d love that,” Midoriya smiled.
Bakugo pulled Midoriya back and scowled: “Stop pulling on my boyfriend. I haven’t seen him in weeks, piss off.”
“Sharing is caring, Bakubro,” Kirishima teased.
“Sharing can go fuck itself,” Bakugo grouched and Midoriya snorted, before saying: “Missed you too, babe.”
They continued talking until Midoriya was called back to go to class. Kacchan and Izu drew out their goodbye for as long as they could manage until Izu had to stop waving and Kacchan disappeared out of sight.
Class 1-A mentally adjusted the image they had both of Bakugo and Midoriya.
Seeing Bakugo be himself completely, taking a scolding with understanding and demanding kisses from his boyfriend, added a layer to the grumpy boy they usually saw.
Midoriya had already undergone an entire transformation in the minds of most. From the stone throwing boyfriend they had imagined to gentle giant to the defiant yet kind person they had met today, who would do what was right, but still only lost that last bit of anxiousness when he was with Bakugo.
They were excited for him to graduate and hoped to see him have their backs again in the future.
~
A/N:
Idk if my idea for Midoriya really came through, but I imagine that hero agencies have personal medical staff to ensure that there will be medical aid if hospitals have a crisis or if the injuries aren’t big enough for injuries. These will be educated for quirk related injuries and since Izu is becoming one to support Kacchan, he will try and focus his assignments on his boyfriend, which is allowed after the sports festival.
I’m not keeping to canon bc I want them to actually meet Izu and I really wanted it to go like this, so a weird extra attack thingy it is. At first, I wanted to do something with the provisional hero license exam, but I felt it wouldn’t go well with the fic.
One thing, I really like it imagining how Bakugo would be if he didn’t have a festering resentment that grew for years, but instead actual support. And how Midoriya would be if he had a chance to develop confidence.
Thank you for encouraging a safe space on Tumblr. It might seem like basic courtesy to leave people be, leave them their comfort and creative freedom, but apparently it's not. As someone who has very questionable self ship poly dynamics, it's.. nice not being scared of seeing "Don't interact if this- dont interact if that" and then in danger of harrassment.
Please keep spreading these vibes of comfort and love - you're a great person whom we need a lot more of in the world wide web
You're very welcome, lovely! :) :) :)
Hoo boy. I have...soooo many thoughts on like....ALL of this. And this post is gonna get LONG because I've opened the can of worms and I'm lettin' it all out :P
The amount of bullying and negativity I've seen in the selfshipping community lately is very painful and disappointing to watch. Tumblr and fandom has always been somewhat of a cesspool but I had hoped that selfshipping was a little better.
I'm not seeing a positive community on a large scale right now.
There are some people who are shining little stars out there of course! But there's more hate being spread around than I can stomach.
I've spent Y E A R S researching and unlearning and pushing back against the psychological and emotional effects of manipulative behaviors like: blame, guilt, shame, and harassment.
I absolutely 100000% believe you can speak to people civilly and state your reasons why you think their behavior is damaging. Without telling them, "You are wrong. You are a bad person." Or otherwise making them feel shitty about themselves.
And I also believe that you CAN allow that person to say, "I don't agree with what you're saying" and you can still have normal interactions with that person without immediately shunning them and labeling them as a terrible person.
People BLOSSOM when they are showered in love, acceptance, and understanding. People are MUCH more willing to listen and heed what you have to say when you give them SPACE to see your point of view (or disagree with you and still accept them).
This culture on social media where people jump STRAIGHT to, "You're a HORRIBLE person because you do something I disagree with!" is, frankly, horrifying and a little disgusting.
Does this mean I condone negative and damaging behaviors?
No. Absolutely not.
But there seems to be this loss of perspective on what is considered "negative and damaging behaviors".
1. It's fiction. Fiction has NEVER been "clean". It's a place of freedom to discuss EVERYTHING.
2. You don't have to feel comfortable with everything being discussed in fiction. I'm not. If I don't like a self-shipper's content because it hits some trigger buttons for me...I don't follow their blog. Because that's my boundary and I have every right to it.
Do I send them messages saying, "You're a toxic person!"
Nope.
Do I comment on their ship that they love and say, "This makes me uncomfortable!"
Nope.
It's not my business.
Also: it’s fiction and there are MUCH bigger problems that require my energy than whether or not I should correct someone’s fictional ship.
Go save the ocean.
Go save the rainforest.
Go save the planet you live and breath on.
Fiction should not be making you angry enough to send hate mail to someone else. Full stop. That should never ever be a priority.
3. Some people engage in selfshipping "negative behaviors" as a way to cope with their trauma. We have no idea what a person has been through and we have no right to tell them that they should stop what they're doing when we do not know where they are on their journey of healing.
It hurts my heart so, so much when I receive messages from selfshippers like you, dear anon, who are TERRIFIED to share their love stories with their characters because they're afraid of being labeled/attacked/harassed by the community.
That's the community letting you down. That should NOT be happening and I'm so sorry you're feeling that way, lovely.
The ENTIRE point of selfshipping was to ESCAPE the people who criticized for shipping yourself with a character that you love. The foundation of selfshipping is that ANYTHING is possible!!! You are limitless!!!
And now people are policing what you can do??? That's...that completely obliterates the point of selfshipping. That's WHY we escaped to our own community!
I don't know if this video is available outside of the U.S., but I highly recommend, the Crappy Childhood Fairy's Youtube video on Cancel Culture. It's a great listen when you're navigating the emotional turmoil of social media culture.
So, if you're still reading after ALL OF THAT :P here are some key points about this blog and my philosophy when it comes to selfshipping:
This blog will always be a judgment free zone
Of course I have opinions! Of course we may disagree on something! But I won't judge you for it. You're allowed to do your own thang! ;)
I will never have a DNI.
If I feel an interaction is crossing into territory that isn't appropriate or acceptable, I'll say so. And if that doesn't work, I'll block and report. But I will never have a DNI on this blog.
Yes, I am an adult. So if minors don't feel comfortable following my blog, it's okay if they don't! I understand!
But I don't have a problem talking with minors because they are human beings and they may need support. I worked in Youth Services at a library for over two years. I know sometimes kids just want someone to talk about cool books and movies with and I'm 100% down for that 24/7 :)
Because this blog is all-ages friendly, I will never post 18+ content because - just like IRL - I make sure that I am mindful of the people around me. I may post some suggestive content that is tagged, but I try not to get too explicit.
I also don’t really think a DNI is necessary for me personally. Of course if I feel threatened by someone, I won’t interact with that person. But if a shipper is into content that I don’t like???? I don’t feel the need to say, “I will never interact with you!” That’s....exhausting. Besides, there are plenty of other things we can chat about! :)
I will always share f/os.
I know some people don't like to share and that's their boundary they can draw if they want to (no shade here!), but I've found that if I don't share, it's a very lonely experience. So I always share and I’m happy to interact if we have the same f/o :)
DMs are always open if you need a shoulder to lean on
If you need to dump or vent or whatever, my DMs will always be open so you can chat! It can feel weird, and maybe you'll feel bad because you won't know what to say!!!
That's okay :)
Even if all you want to do is vent and never reply, I'm happy to listen and offer any words of encouragement and support you need to hear! :)
9:28 pm Halloween night with Mark Lee (M)
Halloween night is the only night people of all ages get wild and be whoever they want to be. As for this year’s Halloween you went for an innocent angel and you wonder what your boyfriend Mark’s costume is. The night is still young and the parties across town are just starting. When you arrived at the party you saw your friends dancing and hurriedly grabbed you to come dance with them.
“Hey y/n, you’re far from being an innocent angel. But you fucking look good!” Yeji screams under the loud music while dancing with you. You didn’t know the angel costume would really look good on you, you just thought it’s the easiest costume so you went for it. “Have you seen Mark?” you asked Yeji as loud as you can, she shook her head. But little did you know he’s watching you now from a far, sipping his cold bear admiring you move around Jaehyun’s living room with those angel wings that suits you perfectly.
Already sweating and thirsty, you get yourself a drink when you felt Mark’s hands around your waist. You knew it was him, no one would dare hold and touch you like that. Only Mark can. “You always look beautiful but tonight you look heaven-sent” who wouldn’t blush if your boyfriend compliments you like that. You turn around and see you your boyfriend wearing a full body Spiderman costume, looking fine as hell.
You crashed your lips on Marks, smudging your lipstick a little bit and transferring some color on his lips. “Now, I look nothing like an innocent angel. I look like Spiderman just kissed me” he laughed at what you said and kissed you properly this time.
“Let’s go home and have sex with me all night” Mark’s arms caged your whole frame, you can smell his perfume. This time its you who laughed at what he said, “It’s Halloween, we can have sex any day” you said as you gulped your beer in one down.
“But that’s the point, it’s the only night I can fuck you with those angel wings” he points at your wings and caressed the soft feathers.
“Good point” you gave him a peck on the lips again, “Two hours tops, I’ll spend some time with the girls. I love you! Don’t get drunk” and you pull away from his embrace, letting go of his hand once Yeji grab a hold on you again. He hates seeing you let go of his hand and watch your wonderful presence drift away with the crowd. Mark spend his time with the guys drinking and getting Johnny drunk while you’re busy dancing while downing every alcohol Yeji gave you. Halloween is indeed the best time of the year.
11:24 pm sex on Halloween night with Mark Lee (M)
While walking to his house, Mark was telling you how the boys made fun of Johnny during drinking games and he just pass out on the sink. Laughing while walking on the quiet streets, kicking scattered Halloween decorations. By the time Mark closed the door, his hands are gently cupping your face and kissing you softly showing how much he loves you. “Were alone” he whispers after kissing you. His parents are out for a Halloween party down town and will be back probably in the morning, his brother is out staying over with friends which means, “We can have rough sex, vanilla sex, anything you want. Halloween is our new Valentines” he kissed you again and slowly walking you towards his room.
Lips never leave each other, he removes his hot Spiderman costume leaving him with only his black boxers brief. Pushing him to his messy bed before his hand goes to your dress, “Wow. I wouldn’t get the honor of removing that beautiful dress?” Mark pretends to be disappointed. “No. But you get to watch me undress” you slowly unzip in front of him, removing your clothes one by one. Mark’s heart beats fast seeing you like this.
Naked and only wearing your angel wings that he so love, you crawl from the edge of the bed kissing Mark’s thighs and removing his underwear throwing it on the floor. ”So this means I’m going to be on top? For sure you dont want to crush my wings” your legs are already on each side of his body before he could even nod. Grinding on his hard cock making your pussy wet even more, Mark moans deliciously and you smile at him.
He grabbed his cock and lined it to your cunt as you slowly put it inside, making sure its fully in. He groans a little too loud before he slaps your ass and grip it, “Oh - where did you learn that?” He puts his thumb in your mouth and you gladly suck it, “You make me horny, thats all” he removed his thumb in your mouth and puts it on your clit, making you grind a little bit faster on his cock.
“Those angel wings on you makes me crazy” he pulls you closer to his chest, arms wrapped around your torso. He licks your nipples softly giving you tingles that goes directly to your pussy. Mark’s hands are on your boobs as you start bouncing up and down on his cock. “You don’t look innocent now but you still looked like an angel, fuck me - ” he slaps your ass again and pinched your nipples. “Oh Mark, please take over” you begged as your legs get tired after bouncing on his cock for some time. “Gladly” He pulls you close again, kissing your lips and thrusting upwards taking full control.
He brought you on edge slowly pushing you to cum, “Mark Im gonna cum” his thrusts became faster when he heard you so you could enjoy your high. Eyes roll back, mouth parted and your body shivers on top of Mark’s. Your orgasm was different in a good way tonight.
“Was that good?” Still catching your breath, you nod to answer his question. He helps you calm down and waits for your body to stop shivering.
Arms around yours, playing with your hair, he reached for your lips to kiss you oh so sweetly and make you feel so loved. “Will you let Spiderman fuck you now?” You were surprised as he got out of bed and grabbed his mask. Putting it on, leaving his nose and mouth uncovered.
You forced yourself to get up and make the iconic Spiderman kiss, “Yes please” he giggle at what you did. Giving him one last peck before your’re on your stomach, legs spread wide and ass in the air. Mark’s favorite sex position. “Oh angel, I don’t need to tell you what to do, huh. Good girl”
Mark is using the tip of his cock to tease your entrance before going in slowly. Rocking his hips back and forth as he lets you moan beneath him. “Feels good angel?” you try to answer him but nothing comes out. Fucking you sharply with heavy breaths, you arch your back so hard to try and ease the tingling sensation on your pussy but it only made Mark fuck you even harder. “Just like that baby. Fuck I love this view” thats why its his favorite position.
He puts his thumb on your cunt making you cum again for the second time. Moaning loudly as Mark grabbed your ass and fucked you faster. The sound of skin slapping around the room is making you both horny. You begged Mark to stop but he knew you didn’t mean it because you said, ‘faster’ afterwards and moaned.
When he came inside you, he gave you last three sharp thrusts before going slow again and finally stopping. Cum drips from your cunt, his cock still inside of you as he he leaned forward to kiss your lips asking if you’re alright, you smile beautifully.
“I love you” he kissed you on the lips again removing strands of hair covering your face.
“I love you too” you kissed him back, removing his mask and throwing it away.
Can I just say I love how positive and welcoming your blog is!! Ik I just followed you but I've loved your gifsets in the past (my brain never connects peoples blogs to things in the tag so I never knew you made like all my faves til now LOL). But like 1 blog I used to love became SO negative after Liam confirmed caleb liked jester I was like woah ?? totally get ppl dont like certain ships but they DESPISE w/j like crazy. They also wanted b/j really bad and then again got mad when b/y became more prominent. Like ofc I love b/y (yasha has been my #1 since day 1) but when b/j was more focused i vibed with it! I just want all the characters to be happy LOL. I dont hate any ship rn and like each ship has so much promise, ppl need to chill. All this to say thank you for being so great!
Thank you for the kind words <3
I’m a big advocate for multi-shipping in the CR fandom. I love it. I love exploring the various dynamics between characters and watching each of their relationships influence each other (a thing that gets ignored a lot in fandom - that no ship exists in isolation and that no matter who they are romantically interested in... they are still a group, first and foremost).
But I understand that multi-shipping isn’t for everyone and that some people prefer to focus on a very specific dynamic between two or more characters. Great! Go for it! But don’t forget nuance. In so many single-ship spaces fans egg each other on and discard nuance for the benefit of romanticizing or villainizing certain characters, their flaws or even the actors playing them. I’ve seen it happen in the best, most welcoming of spaces and it’s never not disheartening.
Embracing nuance means to
a. view the show as a whole piece of media without isolating specific interactions as the only important bits of the story (which creates skewed characterizations and a wrong understanding of how much ‘evidence’ there is for a ship in canon - I say this as someone who loves supercuts... but I also understand that there are hours of canon interactions happening between those moments), and
b. understand that your shipping preferences should exist as part of a much larger fandom experience. By making your ship the center of your experience in fandom you push the actual show to the sidelines, expecting it to serve your ship, which 95% of the time won’t happen, leaving you disappointed and resentful.
So, yeah - I know the kind of people you are talking about, but sadly this is not a bj-shipper phenomenon, but has spread to most corners of the fandom.
I don’t mean to sound so negative. Shipping is still my favorite thing to do and I enjoy the infinite shipping content on here and the many interesting interactions with shippers I have on a daily basis, but a few months ago there was so much horrendous shipping discourse making the rounds that I now take any opportunity to remind people to take a step back, view the whole picture and consider their ships as part of a much larger narrative and not the show’s singular purpose.
Begone
Streamer Gang & Asexual Reader (Gender Neutral)
Warnings: Acephobia, Swearing
Genre: Platonic Fluff, Comfort, RPF (Real Person Fic)
Summary: Having recently come out as asexual, Y/N faces some less than pleasant or appropriate responses in their chat during their stream with the gang. Luckily, they’re not alone in battling the haters this time.
Requested by the lovely Anon who told acephobes to begone, yeah you know who you are hehe. Thank you so much for the request darling! Let’s show these acehobes who they’re messing with! Love, Vy ❤
Boy is this nerve-wrecking or what? Sure, I maybe woke up with a ton of confidence, I listened to motivational and uplifting talks and listened to mood boosting music. I had a healthy breakfast and a cup of coffee. Damn it, I went on a run, all in an attempt to convince myself that dealing with the online world again is but a piece of cake for a badass like me. Well, low and behold, that feeling didn’t last very long. Here I am, chewing my nails off at the though of hopping in the Discord call and Among Us lobby with my friends and starting my stream. It’s not like I’m not expecting my friends and fans to support me - of course I am! I know they’re gonna give me a ton of love and appreciation and support and uplift me no matter what. But then again, there’s still those people who believe me and other people like me to be invalid and broken and whatnot.
Those are the ones I wanna avoid.
It’s not like their words mean much to me but I simply don’t wanna see em, you know? It’s not only about me - it’s least about me actually - it’s more about all those wonderful people they are insulting when they say shit like that about asexuals and all the people on the ace spectrum. I can’t help but flare up and get angry on the behalf of all my ace friends and even people I’ve never met.
It’s also my first time being directly thrown into the fire instead of getting caught in the crossfire seeing as how I came out to my fandom via a tweet and an Instagram post a week ago, telling my identity’s truth: finally bringing my asexuality to the surface to shine its brightest so I can be be my best and reach for my full potential.
But damn am I afraid to see how everyone took it.
My friends were quick to jump in and take me offline before I start refreshing my own posts to see the comments under them. Lord knows that without them I would’ve driven myself insane, I’ll forever be grateful for what they did and the lengths they went to to keep me offline and whatnot. One word to give you an idea of how invested they were in this: origami. All of us might as well have been born with two left hands and yet we still tried doing origami. Freaking origami.
Damn do I love my friends.
But now I don’t have sheets of paper and my friends to distract me. I have a fanbase to entertain and another friend group I haven’t talked to in a while. I don’t wanna get any predictions in already so I don’t jinx myself, so I’m just gonna say it’s gonna be...interesting regardless of what happens.
Then again, when is it not interesting when the streamer gang’s involved.
Deep breaths, Y/N. You got this
Listening to that encouraging little voice inside my head, I finally equip my headphones and in one fluid motion turn my camera on, officially starting my stream and unmuting my mic as I hop in the call with everyone.
“Hi guys! Guess who’s returned!“ I exclaim cheerfully, desperate to hide the nervousness of my voice.
“You really missed your opportunity to say ‘guess who’s back...back again’ didn’t you?“ Charlie is the one who greets me first, sounding rather disappointed in me in his usual jokester manner. It’s nice to hear, it makes me feel like nothing’s changed in the week I’ve been gone. Like I’m still the same person to these people. I really am the same, I just now am a lot better version of myself. Almost as though I’ve reached my final form. It feels empowering really. “I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” Charlie laughs again, “Congrats, by the way. You keep proving you can get cooler and cooler.“
“Careful there Charlie, I can only handle so large of an ego.“ I joke back, rolling my eyes playfully as a wide grin spreads across my face, “No, but seriously, thank you so much, man. It means the world to me that you support me.“
“Um, how could we NOT?“ That’s very clearly Rae, “Hun, you are so brave and amazing and wonderful, how could we ever NOT support you?“
“Yeah, we’ll always support you no matter what, Y/N. We’ll always be your friends, through thick, thin and beyond.“ Poki too interferes, her words only making my smile wider.
“Alright, alright, y’all are gonna make me cry and I haven’t even read my chat yet, hold on.“ I say, fanning my face to dry the tears I hope the webcam isn’t spotting, “Darn, you guys are the best. Sorry, give me a sec to gather my composure, I’ll be right back.“
I quickly mute my in-game mic as I turn to my chat where I see the same amount of love and support in the form of comments and emojis flooding in from my viewers. A warm feeling spreads throughout my chest, making me feel the most comfortable with myself I’ve ever felt. The most loved I’ve ever felt. The most seen and understood. To finally be you feels like you are finally really living in this world, not like you’ve been already living in it for God knows how long. It makes me so freaking happy and fulfilled to finally be living as me, as the real me.
Unfortunately, in life, nothing can be 100% pure and good. There’s always at least 1% there threatening to ruin all your happiness you worked so hard to build or obtain. It may be one in a hundred, but fuck it’s powerful and effective.
And in my case it comes in the form of two comments that stick out to my eyes. Acephobic comments saying my identity’s fake, claiming I’m faking it, saying us acephobes are immature creatures who refuse to grow up, or attention whores. Or just saying we’re delusional and in denial, confused about who we are.
I hadn’t even realized I was clenching my jaw and fists but when I do, I slowly relax my muscles and crack my knuckles before addressing the two people who spat out that nonsense.
“Ok, listen here, shooterpro69 and yourmom_lol. For starters, I want to apologize for your ignorance and lack of education on the matter of asexuality. In fact, for you especially, I plan on making an educational video, explaining asexuality to people who need or want to learn more. You, my friends, are in desperate need to be fed some knowledge cause damn, God knows how many people secretly think you’re hella stupid. Not that they’re wrong to think so but anyway. Unless you have anything nice or positive to say, begone from my chat. Actually, when I think about it, begone from every chat. No one needs you polluting their communities with acephobia and hate.“ I say, all spoken in a calm tone despite the boiling anger within me. People who know me well would probably be able to tell I’m fuming underneath the calm façade, but at least I got my message across loud and clear.
“WOO HOO, You tell em Y/N!“ Toast cheers, clapping his hands and whistling as more cheering arises from each my friends, leaving me in a state of mild shock and confusion.
Wait, what?!
“Um, wait, you guys heard that?“ I ask, my eyes darting to thein-game mic symbol that shows an not crossed-off mic, meaning it was enabled during the entirety of my speech.
“Hell yeah we did! You slayed them, Y/N! Damn goddamn!“ Rae whistles too, her enthusiasm wafting over me like a breath of fresh air.
“I second that!“ Corpse joins in, “And remember what we said - we’ll support you through anything. Need to bury an acephobe’s body, we’re the people you should call.” He says, confident as heck.
And I just can’t hold it in anymore - I burst out laughing, doubling over from the intensity.
If I thought I was happy and fulfilled before, this has to be the closest to paradise I’m gonna get on Earth.  All thanks to these wonderful people. Friends are really something else aren’t they: they come into your life - often unexpectedly - and change it completely. Suddenly you’re not alone, you’re not forced to deal with everything and face everything on your own. Someone’s got your back and you’ve got theirs.
Through thick, thin and beyond.
And it’s so fucking amazing.
Obi Wan x Padawan Reader Never Lie to Me
Pairing: Sith Obi Wan Kenobi x padawan reader
Summary : Reader misplaces something important and tries to find it before her Master can find out.
Warnings: language, sexual themes, *slight smut*
***************************************************
Hello my loves! Ok so I absolutely love Sith obi wan but for some reason I struggle to write him. I tried something and hopefully it's not complete trash like I think it is lol anywaaaaaaays enjoy😚
18+ readers only!
*************************************************
Oh this was bad...this was very very bad....
Okay y/n don't freak out, you can hide this! You can totally hide this!!
Fuck no you couldn't
You groaned sliding down the wall of your chambers. How could you be so stupid?! Losing your lightsaber like that?! Did you have a death wish?!
You could only imagine how enraged your master would be.. you shook your head violently dissipating the horrible thoughts.
No no no, it would not come to that becasue you would find it. It probably fell somewhere by your speeder. Yeah it's there for sure.....probably.....
Sighing you stood up and grabbed a cloak to cover your hip and the usual missing weapon spot that hung there.
You couldn't help but imagine all the horrible scenarios that ran through your mind if Master kenobi found out.
One included merciless unending training, not letting you rest for even a moment.
Another image had you bent over his knee whilst he.... ughhh you could already feel the sting.
Your master and you had a...unique relationship to say the least... he was your master in the ways of the dark side, so you had a strict student master dynamic during training.
He took your training very seriously, leaving little room for error. But as some point his punishments got more....creative..
You couldn't help but feel your face heat up remembering that time you screwed up a mission and he saw to your reprimanding. From then on your relationship became more....personal.
He didnt give you any special treatment, and didnt allow any distractions during training. But the times after training...when he would call you to his chambers and.....
You couldn't help but feel your heart skip a beat, or two, or twenty, and you couldn't help but to recall those moments..
That scent...
Those whispers..
His fingers.....
"What are you thinking about?" A smooth voice cut through your indecent thoughts like butter. You whipped around startled that the man in question was now standing right behind you.
Quickly you made sure your shields were up, something you had made sure to refine. You didnt want him hearing all your dirty thoughts during training...
"I-I was just thinking about the mission.." you took a step back trying to regain your composure. Why did you always manage to act like a floundering idiot when he was around?!
"Hmm, is it really the mission that has you so flustered?" He mused stepping closer.
"Or something else?"he smirked knowingly.
Bastard, he must've read my thoughts before I realized he was here...
"It's-" you attempted to change the subject before he cut you off.
"And I know you know better than to lie to me don't you?" He said slightly more serious. A familiar dark edge to his voice.
You gulped, "Yes master..."
"I was thinking of other things..." you trail off averting your gaze hoping he wouldnt make you say it out loud.
Although he'd technically seen you naked quite a few times now, you still felt so embarrassed regarding anything or your "intimate moments". This was due mostly to the many embarrassing things he made you do....well ok to be fair you didnt REALLY try to stop him...but the second those moments were over you could barely look him in the eyes.
You felt those familiar warm finger gently lift your chin. You met his deep gaze,
"Speaking of other things...you did rather well on the mission, we were able to conquer the planet thanks to your efforts, so I suppose a reward is in order...dont you agree darling?" He whispered the last part in your ear making you shiver slightly.
Oh how you enjoyed those rewards of his...quite possibly the only time he would treat you gently. Well there were those times he wasnt so gentle either...actually maybe you liked those more...
AH WAIT WHAT AM I DOING, I NEED TO FIND MY SABER!!
You place you hands on his chest and gently push.
"A-actually master I wondered if I might have your permission to leave the ship I..wanted too...look around a bit more before we have to leave!" You hurriedly came up with an excuse.
He stepped back, eyeing you for a moment before nodding his approval, "Alright, be back before nightfall" he warned and continued walking down the hall.
As soon as he was out of sight you let out a sigh of relief. Hopefully he bought that story. You quickly made your way to the ship's exit and onto the lush planet known as Misano.
Normally you would've liked a chance to explore and maybe even sneak some souvenirs back. But you had no time for that now. If you didnt find that saber soon you were toast. And it didnt help that Misano turned from a tropical paradise to a frozen tundra trap by nightfall. It was truly a unique planet.
But you could admire it another time, preferably when your life wasn't on the line...
************************************
You looked up at the setting sky as dread washed over you. You had scoured and searched for your blasted saber for hours but it was no use. You had retraced your steps multiple times and even question some of the citizens to see if they knew anything.
You didnt want to even humor the idea but now it was the most likely truth. Some lowlife had probably picked it up and would soon be rolling in credits.
You pulled your cloak tighter around you as the wind started to pick up. You knew you should start to head back before it got too cold but honestly freezing to death sounded better than whatever punishment you master would enforce...
************************************
You were now full on shivering as you made your way back to the ship. The sun had set long ago and you now knew why everyone kept warning you to get inside. Your boots the only reason you could trudge through the many layers of snow.
You must've questioned every suspicious looking citizen however no luck. Your saber was probably gone forever and on top of that punishment you were sure your master was going to be angry that you disobeyed and stayed out later than he permissed.
Ughh I should just let myself freeze over...
Another half an hour later you finally made it back to the ship. Immediately you dragged yourself through the halls to your room and ordered your droid servant to run a hot bath. You were extremely lucky that master kenobi hadn't spotted you yet.
You could barely feel anything and felt horribly tired. Even the steam rising from afar felt like heaven as it reached your frost bitten skin.
You removed your practically stiff cloak but had no energy for the rest so you plopped fully clothed into the steaming water, immediately sighing in relief as you slowly felt feeling returning to all parts of your body.
You rested your head back and took a deep breath, inhaling the warm air.
*achoo* fuck...
you could already feel your nose becoming stuffed and there was a slight scratch in your throat. Perfect, getting sick was just what you needed.
After you were fully warmed up, you drained the water and lazily wrapped a fluffy towel around you. You felt the exhaustion of the mission plus everything afterwards tenfold as soon as your body hit the mattress.
You spread out lazily letting the cool sheets relax your now warmed body, covers discarded on the floor.
Your eyes drooped slowly closed once, focused on the space by the end of your bed, you tried to fight off sleep but it was proving difficult,
You opened them but slowly they drooped closed again,
The third time however you saw a blurry outline of a man.
"M-master!" Like a rocket you sat up, heart beating out of your chest. You quickly pulled up the towel over your chest.
"Y-you scared me..." You placed a hand over your beating chest trying to catch your breath. You had been too tired to even sense him coming.
He stood with his arms crossed, an unreadable expression on his face. "I distinctly remember telling you to be back before dark did I not?" He stepped closer until he was right at the end of the bed.
Oh Crap hes mad.... you sat up a little straighter trying to ignore the fact you were practically naked in front of him.
"I'm sorry master, the time got away from me..." your mouth feeling unnaturally dry as the lie left your lips.
You hated lying to him. Well you hated what usually happened when you lied to him and he found out....
He eyed you silently before leaning over the bed intimidatingly close. He leaned next to your ear before speaking,
"You're lying" a dangerous edge to his voice now
You felt your heart stop and a rush of panic fill you. Fuck fuck fuck.
Slowly he came back into view.
His eyes were a threatning color now. A silent deadly warning to choose your next words carefully. You had just broken his one rule. And he knew...
You felt a million emotions running through you. Fear, for getting caught breaking his most important rule. Shame for being stupid enough to lose something so important. And Guilt for lying to the one person you never ever wanted to lie too...
"Ah I-I'm Sorry!!" You blurted out suddenly. "I-I didn't mean too! But so much was going on with the mission!! A-and I must've been distracted and I swear I tried master I really did! B-but no one knew anything and then it started getting dark and cold a-and I didnt know what to do so I came back, but I didnt want you to be disappointed or mad so I didnt tell you the truth and I'm so so so sorry!!" You bowed your head breathing heavily, hardly realizing that your explanation made no sense. Your eyes shut tightly shielding you from his whatever horrible expression he surely had on his face.
A few moments of dreadful silence passed before you felt him shift.
"Look at me" you barely felt the ghostly touch of his fingers guide your chin up.
You sucked in a nervous breathe when you realized you were only inches from his face. His eyes were dark and penetrating. Whenever he looked at you like this you felt completely exposed. Like he could see right through your soul.
"Now calm down and tell me the truth little one" he said dangerously calm. Sometimes that was even scarier then when he yelled...
Taking a deep breathe you gathered your wits and with a deeply ashamed tone you confessed, "I lost my lightsaber.." you could feel burning at the corner of your eyes but you continued through it, "I looked for it everywhere but..." you looked down again dejectedly. What a dumb apprentice I am.. hes probably so disappointed in me.. "I'm sorry Master.."
You waited for what felt like hours until he spoke, "I know" he said in an even tone.
Your eyes shot open in surprise, "w-what?"
"How many times must I remind you nothing happens without me knowing about it."
"So then..." he knew you were lying all along...
"Yes my apprentice" he grasped your chin slightly harder now but still somehow gentle, "When will you learn..." he slowly ran his thumb over your bottom lip, dragging it down, "that you can't hide anything from me.." he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I know..I'm sorry, I was just afrai-" he cut you off with a sharp slap to your thigh.
"What have I told you about lying to me?" he caressed your bare thigh making it harder for you to focus.
"That-that I am never to lie to you...no matter what..." your breath hitched as his hand inched closer across your thigh and to your most sensitive area. However just when he was inches away he abruptly removed all contact.
You immediately felt sad at the loss.
"Exactly, and yet you did exactly that" he nodded his head, "I'm disappointed little one, especially since if you had told the truth..." he reached behind him grabbing something and bringing it forward, "you could've saved yourself alot of trouble"
You let out a gasp, "My saber!!" He let you take it from his grasp, you beamed finally feeling whole again.
"But how did you..?" You asked confused where and how he had found it.
"It fell when you jumped on your speeder during the battle" he explained nodding slightly in exasperation.
So this whole time he had it?! And that means he knew all day that you.....
"I shouldnt have lied" you apologized sincerely. "I just didn't want to disappoint you..especially since I did so well on the mission..." you mustered the best regretful expression you could. "Are you angry with me...?" You couldn't help but ask.
After a moment he smiled slightly, resting his rough palm on your cheek, "No..well not anymore, I was more upset that you risked your health by staying out too long, however I do sense your deep regret, so this time I'll let it slide"
Whoa did I hear that correctly, hes going to let it slide?? My master?? Had he hit his head during battle??
"Thank you Master, I promise it won't happen again" you meant it this time.
"Oh I know it wont pet" you shivered at the pet name he called you. He suddenly force pulled you closer until you were basically straddling him. You let out a shriek.
"Because this time.." he placed a firm hand on the back of your neck pulling you in for a possessive kiss.
He pulled away slightly and you felt his hot breathe by your ear, "I'll make sure you remember what happens when you don't." Suddenly you were on you back, towel thrown across the room.
"Whaa what?! I thought you said I was off the hook?!" You blushed fiercely as he force held your hands and legs to each corner and stood back to admire your helpless form.
He smirked wickedly, "I said you were off the hook for staying out too late.. however..." you gasped as you felt invisible fingers begin to tease your most sensitive area.
"For lying to me.." he eyed you with a gaze now hooded with lust and a dangerous glint, "You will be punished until I am certain you've learned your lesson my darling..."
why are you still interacting w vanmccannonlyfans? they're a stalker who has abused many people and doxxes people online.
i dont mean to be blunt, but they have upset and abused a lot of people. some of those people have been tumblr blogs and have had to delete their blogs bc of her.
In the wise words of Van McCann: I’m dead peaceful. I am here to obsess over CATB and don’t want to be involved but here I am. 😐
As someone on the sidelines observing, I am disappointed in how this whole situation is being handled. What do you think you’ll achieve by pointing fingers and spreading hate? Do you think the problem will go away? In order to resolve conflict, you need to have a civil discussion, and if you can’t come to an agreement, you can agree to disagree. So here’s my attempt at trying to fix the issue rather than spreading hate which accomplishes nothing.
@vanmccannonlyfans: I don’t know if any of these accusations are true but we’re going to put them to the side for the time being. I’ve been told that if you don’t have anything nice to say, it’s better to say nothing at all. Whether you believe that person or not is up to you but just be careful of what you say because although you can’t see their face, you’re talking to another human being with feelings. What only takes a few seconds to type can have a lasting impact on that person emotionally. Think before you speak. If something upsets you, don’t engage. It’s not worth your time. Simple as that.
@no-words-no-name and everyone else: I understand you’re upset but this isn’t how you solve the issue. If you’re starting witch hunts and sending hate through asks, you’re no different. Again—think about the impact your words and actions have on someone else and don’t you dare say they deserve it because no one deserves hate in any form. Not everyone you encounter in life will agree with you. You can have a civil discussion to work things out or you can agree to disagree. You cannot force someone to see eye to eye with you.
And some words regarding the privacy of band members, their family, and friends: I’ve seen the word “stalker” used incorrectly. A stalker is:
a person who harasses or persecutes someone with unwanted and obsessive attention.
If you are harassing the band members, their family, and friends asking them what’s happening with the band, that is not okay. Whether they want to tell us or not is their choice. Things are already stressful as it is. Have some patience and sympathy. Respect their privacy.
However, there’s nothing wrong with knowing information but not doing anything malicious with it. We’re all curious people wanting to know the latest information. Don’t make them feel like the bad guy when they’re not.
.
.
Okay, going back to the point of this post. Do I think this write up will do anything? No, but I hope it makes everyone think twice before saying or doing something harmful. It doesn’t take much to be nice. Life is already tough as it is. If everyone showed more compassion and understanding, the world would be a better place. At the end of the day, ask yourself this: why are you on Tumblr? You’re here to interact with people with similar interests. You’re here to have fun and to relax. Don’t take away that fun from others with this negativity.
Anon, to answer your question: I’m not going to choose a side. You can choose war or peace and I choose peace.
Rebellious Royalty (Pt.1)
-------------------------
Virgil was a prince, that much was true. But was he good at it? Not- exactly. Constantly lashing out, constantly on edge, it was no surprise he spent most of his time stuck in his tower, regardless of whether or not there were any dragons present. His parents were worried about him, and he never understood why. It wasnt like he was crazy! He just hated people!
"Virgil all we're saying is this isnt healthy for a teenage boy! You need friends!" said his mother. Virgil, of course, was paying little attention, focusing more on running a hand along the large black dog who's head was rested on his stomach.
"Virgil! Pay attention!" his father's voice cut through the fog in Virgil's head.
"I dont need or want friends, I'm fine with it just being me and Charlotte forever," Virgil said, burying his hand in the Newfoundland's fur.
"Virgil. . ." his mother's eyes were sympathetic, but there was a hint of disappointment behind them.
"Sorry I'm such a disappointment," Virgil sighed, he wriggled his way out from under Charolette's weight and walked to his room, the dog trailing behind him, tail raised in the air happily.
"I just dont get it! Why cant they just understand I dont want to hang around people! It's to much work!" Virgil said as he shut the door. Charlotte let out a whine and tilted her head.
"Dont give me that look," Virgil said, glaring slightly at the dog. He trudged over to his bed and let out a sigh.
"One day I'm gonna move out, I'll live on my own in the woods, maybe get you a rabbit friend or two," Virgil said, glancing toward the side of the bed Charlotte's face was resting. The dog nuzzled his cheek and pressed her nose against his own. Virgil let out a sneeze and winced.
"Geez- been wearing this thing for to long- eh, I was gonna take a nap anyways," said Virgil, changing out of his binder, t-shirt, and leggings, into a hoodie that was six sizes to big for him and shorts.
He woke up a while later with Charlotte licking his face excitedly.
"What is it girl? You wanna go on a walk? Is that it? Is that what you want?" he said, grinning. Charlotte barked and rushed out of the room. While Virgil waited for her to come back with her leash he changed into a slightly less baggy hoodie and a pair of sweatpants, gaze lingering over the binder for a few seconds. He would've put it on, but Charlotte wouldnt leave until she was sure he wouldnt get hurt while they were walking, and she hated when he tried to do any exercise while wearing it.
Charlotte trotted up to him with her leash and collar in her mouth. Virgil took it from her and slipped the collar around her back and shoulders, letting the leash hang limply in his hand.
"You ready girl?" Virgil said, chuckling slightly as Charlotte did a small tap dance where she stood.
"Mom! Dad! Charlotte and I are going for a walk!" Virgil said as he made his way to the front door.
"Be back before sundown! And dont talk to anyone suspicious!" his mother called as he left. Virgil merely nodded and shut the door behind him.
He and Charlotte had been walking for maybe an hour or two before Virgil began to feel uneasy.
"Charlotte? Do you smell anything?" he said. The dog raised her head high and sniffed, before letting out a growl. She pressed her weight against Virgil's legs, hackles raised and teeth bared.
"Aaaawwww- cute dog you got there," Virgil felt someone grab him by the arm and pull him back. When he'd moved his hood he was faced with a man who looked like he hadnt heard of a shower since the 1500s. His eyes were so red it looked like he'd colored them with blood, and the mustache gracing his face looked more like a deranged catterpillar than actual hair. Charlotte let out a growl and went for the man's legs.
"Charlotte- down," Virgil said, wrenching himself away from the man. Charlotte backed towards him, still growling.
"Who are you," Virgil said, narrowing his eyes.
"Remus Duke-Prince at your service!" Remus responded, a deranged grin spreading across his face.
Virgil stood up slightly taller "Virgil, last name none of your business," he said, a growl low in his throat.
"Oooohhhh- scary one arentcha Virgie? Think you're tough? Think you can fight hm?" Remus said, laughing.
"If I have to fight you I will, you dont scare me you overgrown rat," Virgil said. He was about to brace for impact when Charlotte bolted between Remus' legs, knocking him over and dragging Virgil away.
It was times like that when Virgil was glad to have a dog like Charlotte, had it not been for her he wasnt sure what he would've done.
"Virgil! Get dressed! We have vistors!" his mother called from downstairs. Virgil put on one of his fancier outfits and got a once over from Charlotte to make sure she though he would be comfortable before heading downstairs.
"We're arranging a peace treaty today so I want you to be on your best behavior," said his mother as they walked to the entrance hall. Virgil wasn't nervous, he didnt talk enough for it to be an issue, until he saw what was waiting for him in the hall. Four people, each with nearly identical dark red hair, and tannish brown skin, stood at the center of the hall. One of which, with bright red eyes, and a disaster of a mustache.
"Oh, you have got to be kidding me," Virgil muttered under his breath, feeling his heart sink.
Dont Fret My Dear, Ill Keep You Safe
Requested by anon! Var gets roofied and Hugo prevents anything from happening! That being said there is a slight warning possibly? For the usage of well the roofie and while nothing bad happens it is discussed as a possibility of have happening. That being said Enjoy!
One second, all it took was one second to turn this wonderful evening into an absolute shit show. He was grateful that Nuru had offered them a night to themselves, staying at their campsite with Yong while he took Varian out for the night. He supposed technically it was their first date. They’d been together for a while now, but it was hard to find time alone when they were constantly traveling. He had been looking forward to it, and it had been everything he could have ever wanted, until that sick bastard made his appearance. He had flirted with Varian persistently, never letting up in his advances despite the fact that Varian had repeatedly told him he wasn’t interested, despite that he was very obviously uncomfortable, despite that he had made it clear numerous times that he was taken and Hugo was right there. He seemed to finally get it when Hugo resorted to threatening to cut up the man into pieces so small they’d never be able to piece him back together again. Maybe he shouldn’t have, maybe if he didn’t Varian wouldn’t have had to suffer the consequences.
Once they were certain he was gone, it didn’t take long for them to fall back into the comfort of each other’s company as they drank at the tavern. He should’ve stayed more alert, he should’ve paid more attention. All it took was one second, one second in which their eyes closed as their lips locked together, one second was enough for that creep to slip something into Varian’s drink. He knew what it was, he knew it, as soon as Varian started giggling like a maniac. Sure Varian was typically a happy drunk, but it had been excessive and he hadn’t even had that much to drink yet. He had been selfish, he ignored the signs of the drug, all because he didn’t want the night to be over, he certainly didn’t want it to end like this. So he waited until the next effect hit. He was all too familiar with the signs of the drug, he’d used it, not for any of its more sinister purposes, but it worked like a charm when he stole from other’s. He knew the signs like the back of his hand.
Varian’s eyes were half lidded, glossed over, and seemed unable to focus on anything. He drooped forward in his seat, leaning heavily on Hugo. “I don’t feel very good.”
His cheeks were flushed pink from the alcohol, but Hugo knew it wasn’t the reason for his sudden sickness. He quickly paid their tab, sliding out of his seat. “Let’s get you out of here.”
Varian didn’t protest, didn’t say anything, just gave a small nod as Hugo wrapped his arm around him, keeping him as close as possible as they exited the tavern. He knew it was the purpose of the drug to make the victim as complacent as possible, it still made him sick to his stomach. What if he hadn’t been here? What if he had to leave Varian for just a moment? What would’ve happened then? He didn’t want to think about it, with the way that he looked at Varian he already had a pretty good guess. He hated that he put them in this situation. He felt Varian slump further against him. He was already more or less carrying Varian, his steps slow and unsteady. Just how much did that bastard slip him?
Hugo tightened his grip around him at the sound of footsteps approaching from behind, his other hand slipping into his pocket to grip one of his vials. It wouldn’t be nearly as effective as the bombs, but it would give them enough time to get away. He turned slowly, careful not to jostle Varian too much, the slightest movement and the boy would probably fall over. Of course the bastard had followed them. “Hey! I’m not letting you reap the benefits of my hard work.”
Hugo was shaking with rage, his hand clutching the vial so tightly he thought it might break, Varian of course oblivious to it all, he wasn’t even sure he was aware of anything going on. “You sick fuck, I am not going to rape my boyfriend!”
The man scoffed, he fucking scoffed, as if what Hugo was implying was absolutely ridiculous. “That little slut is anything but innocent. He’s been throwing himself around all night. He just needed something to loosen him up. He wants it.”
He let his anger take control, letting go of Varian and storming towards the man. “You take that back! You don’t know anything! Just because your giant ego can’t handle rejection doesn’t mean you can rape someone!”
“Stop saying that word!”
“Fucking make me!” Hugo sneered, leaning forward on the balls of his feet ready to strike, a loud thud gaining his attention. His eyes went wide as he spotted Varian crumpled in the dirt road, the effects of the drug finally knocking him out. He had been so caught up in his anger that he put Varian’s safety in jeopardy again. He needed to get Varian out of there first and foremost. He tossed the vial to the ground, right in front of the bastard’s feet, the smoke spreading instantly. Hugo scooped Varian up as the man sputtered and coughed as the smoke filled his lungs. He ran a few doors down, he learned to never enter the first available door, it made one all too easy to find. He swung the door open, closing it just as quickly behind him before taking a deep breath. Varian was limp against him, his limbs hanging uselessly, his head the same. Hugo tried to adjust his position to support him better, it was impossible to do so when he was carrying him bridal style.
“You need a room for the night?” Hugo jumped at the sound of the woman’s voice, turning to face the reception desk. She wasn’t even looking up, her face buried in a book.
“Uh, yeah. Thanks.” Nuru would kill him for spending the money, but it was the safest route. He didn’t want to lead that sicko back to their campsite, at least at the inn they’d have a lock and Yong and Nuru would be safe. With some difficulty he handed over some money and took the offered key, struggling again when he came to the door. His arms were shaking by the time he got them safely inside. Varian wasn’t particularly heavy, but he wasn’t that strong either. He set Varian down as gently as possible, thankful the room was stocked with water. He filled a glass for Varian before dipping a cloth in it and placing it on his forehead. He’d have a hell of a headache whenever he woke up. “I’m sorry, babe, I should’ve been keeping a better eye out for you. I’ll do better next time.”
He couldn’t do better, he couldn’t be better, not when Donella still expected him to betray them. But he didn’t have to, did he? He could stay with the group, never return to her. He could do it, he should do it. This was where he belonged, with Varian. He loved him, holy shit, he loved him. He was in too deep, there was no going back now. He placed a kiss to Varian’s cheek, it was as far as he’d go when he was like this. He prepared himself for a long night. He needed to make sure Varian would wake up and get him properly hydrated when he did.
He waited two hours, two excruciating hours, before Varian started to stir. He groaned, moving to sit up. “Hey, take your time. Take it slow.” He helped him into a sitting position, Varian cradling his head in his hands.
“I feel like death. How much did I drink?” Varian asked, gladly taking the water from Hugo’s hand and taking small sips from it.
He was at war with himself. Did he tell him what almost happened? Did Varian not know how close they were to disaster? Was it right to keep it from him? “How much do you remember?”
Varian stiffened, his hand shaking slightly around the glass. His eyes were wide, fear lacing them. “I- what happened, Hugo? Please tell me it was a dream. Did- did he-“
Hugo took the glass, placing it on the bedside table before pulling Varian into a hug. “No, no I didn’t let him lay a finger on you. He just slipped something in your drink, but no one touched you, okay? You’re okay.”
Varian nodded. “Thank you. I’m glad you were here.” Something about the words sent a feeling of guilt through him. He caused this to happen, he didn’t pay close enough attention. He was supposed to protect them from this kind of stuff, he was supposed to be the street smart one.
“I’m sorry. I should’ve done better.” Hugo pulled away from Varian, keeping his eyes downcast. He didn’t want to see the disappointment that was sure to be there.
“How?” Varian asked. Hugo’s head snapped up, his confusion matching Varian’s.
“What?”
“How could you have done better? You kept me safe. What more could you have possibly done?” Varian seemed to be genuinely curious, gently lifting Hugo’s chin so he was looking at him again.
Hugo was panicking, why was he panicking? He should know the answer to Varian’s question. He’d heard Donella say those words so many times. What could he have done differently? What could he have done better? If he didn’t answer, if he didn’t know, what punishment awaited him? “I should’ve- I could’ve-“
Varian’s look softened, something sad lingering behind his eyes. “Nothing. The answer is nothing.”
He didn’t understand, he didn’t get it. Varian still suffered, how could there be nothing he should’ve done differently? He should be angry with him, disappointed in him, instead Varian looked at him with nothing but love. Hugo smiles then, reminded of why he was willing to leave his old life behind for him. He expected nothing but love in return. And he could give that, he wanted to give that. Varian closed the distance between them, pulling Hugo as close as possible, his lips feeling heavenly on his. And maybe Varian was right, the answer had to be nothing, because there was nothing he wanted to change about his time spent with Varian.
Map reading tragedy - 6
SMILE MASTERLIST
-
it was the day that every second and third year in the volleyball team dreaded, or at least you thought so. finally, sunday had come and it was the day when yui would be moving away. spirits were still kept high though, as everyone wandered through the beautiful streets of hyogo, clad in thick fur jackets, beanies, scarves and mittens. you held onto your beanie as a particularly harsh gust of wind passed by, threatening to blow your hat away and to carry it far off into the distance.
"atsumu, are you sure we're heading in the right direction? we've been walking for the past 15 minutes and this park is only supposed to be 5 minutes away."
"of course we're going in the right direction, i'm great at following directions!"
"atsumu-san. hand over the map", kita gestured for the map a creepy blank look implanted on his face making everyone sweat drop. atsumu handed over the map without any thought, not wanting to disappoint his captain. kita inspected the map for a few seconds, quickly coming up to the reason as to why it was taking so long. "you were holding the map upside down."
this sent the second years and most of the third years into a fit of laughter. "only tsumu' would do something so dumb!"
"oh my god, i think this actually has made my life worthwhile, i think i'm crying-"
"don't worry atsumu! better luck not being an idiot next time, you'll need all the luck you can get!"
"how is this even possible. how can one be so stupid to do something like that", yui deadpanned, facepalming while opening up a map app on her phone. "the park is all the way back there, this time, ya'll will be following me, we cant let a bunch of dummies minus kita-san take the map."
----
"uhm yui-san, i hate to tell you, but it's been like 20 minutes and we're still not there yet", you popped into her field of vision, your voice covering the annoyed grumbling ones of everyone else. kita was tasked with holding the picnic basket since everyone else would just eat all the food before even arriving at the destination. no one even dared try to grab a piece of bread from inside to fill their hunger, too afraid to do so.
"are you sure it's been 20 minutes?"
"yeah, everyone is getting hungry."
"it can't be much further, just another 5 minutes."
"okay", you retreated back to the end of the group beside kita, to make sure no one got lost or was left behind.
"so how was it?", he asked, eyes still staring straight ahead.
"yui-san said that it'll only be another 5 minutes."
"alright."
----
"ermmm where are we?"
"uhhh"
"this isn't a park."
"no shit sherlock."
"yes, call me sherlock atsumu."
"ew, that sounds so dumb. at least i don't have to share a family name with you now."
"my name is sherlock miya atsumu."
"that's even worse."
"awww, just admit you love the name as you're jealous you're not a sherlock."
"what person in the right mind would be jealous of you?"
"plenty of people!"
"from your imagination?"
"noo, you're one of them."
"sure."
"osamu. atsumu."
"yes, sorry kita-san!"
"yui-san, please hand over your map", kita gestured for the map, "the location that has been set is wrong. we were meant to take a left as a street 17 minutes ago. we've been going in the wong direction for a long time."
"o-oh, sorry."
"I'll take the map. it's for the best, clearly."
----
the group finally stepped out into a beautiful open area, children gleefully running around, a glimmering lake in the middle of it all with multiple stalls selling various bits and bobs set up near it.
"finally! i knew we could rely on ya kita-senpai", you smiled, placing a hand on his shoulder gently.
"i am sure that any of us would've been able to do it eventually", he replied bluntly, completely missing the point of what you had said. why couldn't he just say thanks or something?
"of course of course, whatever you say kita-senpai", you mocked, rushing off towards the lake first, spreading your arms out and letting the wind blow against your face as you ran backwards, tumbling onto the grass. laying down, you allowed yourself to make grass angels and was soon joined by atsumu who copied your moves. then came akagi and suna who made a grass human, not bothered to move and too just plop down onto the grass. how had you gotten so close and easy going with the team within a week of knowing them, minus osamu? kita, being the oh-so responsible captain had laid down the mat and was beginning to set up the various plates of food, with yui helping as everyone else wandered off.
"kita-senpai, come play with me at the swings!"
"aren't we a bit too old?"
"aw don't be a downer! pleeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaseeee? you can set up the food later!"
"y/n-chan is right kita-san, I'll take care of the food, you guys enjoy yourselves."
"i can't, this is supposed to be for you and yet you're doing all the work."
"it's fine, you're helping me by making my favourite ship sail!"
"i dont understand how hanging out with y/n-san will make a ship sail?"
"aiyo, just go already lah", yui said, pushing kita towards you, who was eagerly waiting by the swings. kita moved over to you robotically, looking at you judgingly, but you seemed unfazed by it.
"push me?", you asked him, holding tightly onto the chains holding the swings up, feet not quite reaching the floor, allowing you to swing your feet back and forth.
"okay", he complied, beginning to gently push you forwards by your back, "hold on tightly."
"mhm, i will", you smiled brightly like a child on Christmas eve, rejoicing in the feeling of childhood. kita began to push the swing gently, just enough for a romantic atmosphere, without pushing you to the point where you would feel nauseous. if only this could last forever
"what did you say l/n-san?"
"huh? i didn't say anything and didn't i tell you to call me y/n?"
"sorry, I'll keep that in mind, but you did mention something about lasting forever?"
"oh that. ill be straight forwards with you. i wish that we can be together forever."
"mmm..."
"I'll miss you after you graduate. it might sound a bit odd coming from someone you've only known for a week, but i feel like I've known you forever."
"it's not odd at all, we won't ever judge you."
"since when have you been so sentimental?"
"i'm just stating the facts."
"well then, i look forward to cracking a smile out of you."
"of course", he nodded as you got off the swing, hands behind your back and grinning, before rushing off towards yui where all the food was laid out and ready to enjoy.
Geez, this person really went all out with this BS rant against the show/staff. www(.)reddit( lcom/r/RWBY/comments/kiqatg/why_rwby_will_always_be_an_okay_show/
... You know I have been trying to step away from directly addressing RWBY bullshit. But...fuck it here.
If you ever talked to me about how I felt about RWBY, I would say that RWBY pre-Volume 8 has been a touchy subject for me. I felt very validated by two videos, "Why RWBY is Disappointing" and "The White Fang Problem".
Yes yes, and people with parental issues feel validated by their abusive spouse. That means nothing, especially given that one of those videos you mentioned is riddled with bullshit.
"Why RWBY is Disappointing" validated my criticism of RWBYs writing. The fact that Miles and Kerry can't and refuse to take any kind of criticism that doesn't hurt their feelings is complete [insert bad word here]. All criticism is going to hurt your feelings. Yes, you should probably ignore the long winded rants that make themselves out to be self important- why is there a mirror here? But there is truth to all criticism.
And there’s a kernel of truth in the best lies- they’re still LIES.
Not to mention the video you mentioned here (which I am assuming is Hbomberguy’s) pulls the SAME SHIT it calls out. Like say...decrying critics pesonally attacking the writers...while proclaiming Jaune and Neptune as self inserts even though Miles AND Kerry is on the record saying that at least Jaune isn’t written by his voice actor.
I'm currently learning about Branding and how important it is to know your audience. Take self.care breaks, talk with someone you trust. Someone who isn't Miles or Kerry! If your reading this. An outside perspective can help. The reason I say that is because if you two constantly talk to each other you're going to end up in an echo chamber. TALK TO FIONA! She's literally your target audience!
Because hey, a man who contradicts himself numerous times and made personal attacks on the creators that only the most malicious and self righteous do is SOOOO trustworthy right?
Remember that tweet Hbomb brought up in his video as an example of criticism the creators should listen to? The one that demanded Miles get back to work and tried to use the catchphrase of his dead friend to manipulate him?
What a fucking target audience.
I know they mentioned ‘Fiona’ (likely the character’s voice actress) but there’s a supposed fan, one that pretty much sums up the critics, and a perfect example why it gets tossed out.
Moving on, the other video validated something I wish it didn't. "The White Fang Problem" brought to light something I knew was there but either ignored or I wasn't thinking. The White Fang has always made me a little uncomfortable. As a minority, it didn't translate well in my head. The minority are the bad guys. The Civil rights group were the bad guys. I brushed it off for a long time but after that video I couldn't.
Ah huh. So uh, the existence of Blake, Ghira, Kali, Sun, Illa, Velvet, Neon ect. is just incovienable to you huh? And don’t give me that ‘But civil rights group!’- The first episode had them break up a peaceful protest and it’s repeatedly hammered home that the current White Fang doesn’t give a SHIT about equal rights. And no, that concept is not racist- Judging from a story I read, that happened to the New Black Panthers in REAL LIFE.
It became a moral issue. Watching RWBY became a moral issue. RWBY is still pushing right wing talking points.-
Being right of you is not right wing, Especially given how you just acted.
I dont believe Miles and Kerry are racist. I do believe that Miles and Kerry both hold skewed beliefs in what right and wrong is.
Projection.
The way Miles and Kerry treat self defense and protest shows that they know nothing about being Black. They didn't do their research. They didn't talk to minorities about how they were being portrayed. They simply believed that they were right and we were wrong.
Ah huh, ah huh, ah huh-
Monty wrote the White Fang this way. You know, the ASIAN man of FOUR NATIONALITIES. So uh, congrats on saying at the absolute most- Nothing.
Now these two videos are old news. They've been posted on this very same subreddit. But you can't go around and say how much of a progressive and open minded individual you are when the fact that RWBY is a racist show and treats minorities very badly. So no one talks about them.
Or that, as I showed: these videos are bullshit.
Also its kinda homophobic too, not because of Bumblby but because despite Tera and Saphorn being a happy married couple they never kiss on screen. Have you seen happy married couples? Have you seen gay happy married couples? They literally do nothing but kiss. Its cute and adorable and deserves to be spread as far and wide. Despite the show having two straight couple kisses, granted one was in Volume but still, they couldn't get the married couple to kiss? Just saying.
... And not all gay couples are the same, even if I’m sure you’re thinking of TEENAGERS.
You know, judging people based on a preconcieved notion (AKA stereotyping) is pretty fucking bigoted itself...
Watch people be in the comments typing away that this isn't a romance show and how I shouldn't expect romance in an action adventure show despite the long list of evidence to the contrary.
Ah yes, that long list of ONE kiss by a TORPEDOED SHIP.
Such convincing rhetoric.
So you can see I was not coming into Volume 8 with my rose colored glasses. I'm sure many of you hate me because of all my comments, but I don't care. I was ready to leave RWBY. I didn't care. RWBY had taken up so much of my life but I don't care. I was not going to support a show that didn't improve.
Ah huh-
You just came in with jade-colored glass and accepted anything that validated you instead of questioning yourself. You talk about branding but that’s ALL you’ve branded yourself as.
So I watched. And something happened. Something strange. RWBY was moving in a direction I didn't expect it to. Oscar got what he deserved. The Heros were oblivious to the danger that is Salem. Things were headed in the direction that would change the characters forever. It'll be just like Beacon but better. And then they had to ruin it.
Oh we are about to get some real bullshit.
Oscar somehow convinces Hazel to betray Salem. What could have been an avenue to a multi season story arc for Oscar that included the stories villains became a shitty uninspired redemption arc. Kill me.
No he didn’t and this has been something hinted at since Volume 4.
There's still hope for the season but at this point I lost all hope.
Tumblr media
This is the scene that killed Volume 8 for me. Oscar should not be the one who defeats Salem. In fact he should be an avenue to learn more about the villains. He served his purpose with the heroes, now he has a new arc with the villains. Oscar doesn't turn evil, but he's like a conscious. Salem doesn't want to kill him because he can be useful in finding the last remaining relics and maidens.
Assumptions.
Oscar has a heart to heart with all the villains including Salem. Oscar learns to be his own man and accepts he's now one with Ozma but he doesn't have to be another Ozma. He doesn't have to make the same decisions.
Its a great Arc for Oscar. It also makes sense for his character. Ozma feels Salem is pure evil but Oscar can learn for himself.
Headcanon.
But they won't do that. Instead they're going to take the easy way out. Like always.
Bias getting in the way.
Miles and Kerry love wrapping up each season in a little bow. This is why RWBY is so okay.
They say as every RWBY Volumes ends in a cliffhanger.
This is Beacon but if Miles and Kerry thought that RWBY should still be in Beacon. This is Beacon but without major character death. This is Beacon but the main villain loses because the heroes can't lose. Cinder isn't threatening. None of the villains are. Salem is in a Grimm! She should know everything! Why is there no creativity? Why is she not an over powered mess in A GRIMM!? Her own domain?! Why are the writers writing her not as a powerful goddess reaffirming her as a threat but as a human being. Yes I know what that sounds like but hear me out.
‘None of the villains are threatening!’
‘WHY IS THE MAIN VILLAIN NOT BEING TREATED AS THREATENING LIKE I THINK SHE IS!’
‘Why is there no creativity?’
‘DO THE MOST UNCREATIVE THING POSSIBLE!’
How about I keep mocking you?
If Salem can be out smarted by a 10 year old boy, why did it take Ozma so long to defeat her? Oscar should fail. RWBY should fail. They should go through character arcs that help them better understand Salem. Because that's how you defeat Salem.
Pushing your own thoughts onto the show. Also assumptions AGAIN.
I always believed that Ozma and Salem are very similar to Ruby and Weiss. Yes I know how it sounds but it makes sense.-
Too bad your AU fanfic doesn’t matter.
But they won't. Miles and Kerry will use Oscar to defeat Salem. Why? Who knows at this point. I dont know why Miles and Kerry keep pushing Oscar into the spotlight. Its exactly how they treated Jaune Pre-Volume 7. Jaune had to be the focus so often we hated him. And they're doing it again with Oscar
Ah huh. You know, the whole NOTHING Jaune did in Volume 6 was SOOO spotlight stealing, along with his REMOVAL FROM THE CAST FOR SEVERAL EPISODES.
Wanna bet this is another case of ‘penis on screen, me hate’?
They refuse learn and they refuse to improve. If Volume 8 doesn't improve im leaving RWBY. It doesn't matter to any of you. I'm saying it more for myself. So I don't continue with a show that constantly disappoints me. But more so, I don't support a show that views people like me as lesser. If the writing improves it proves that they can grow and get better but if it doesn't it means they will continue to treat Faunus as misguided and horrible characters. And I refuse to support a show that uses my likeness to get brownie points from people who are unaffected by such messages.
A. No, that’s who refused to do self reflection and improve.
B. Should have done that in the first place.
C. No, once again- You blind yourself from the shit that disproves you.
D. You heard him- Treat the Fanaus like shit and make the humans in the right. You know, the opposite what the show is doing now since it’s SOOO horrible.
E. You are not the center of the universe.
