idk uhhhh i wrote a series once where two of the main couples break up at the end, but it wasn't really angsty

i don't outline or edit or re-read any of my fanfic. i just type it and then eyeball it for typos and then post it. i COULD outline and such to really make the narrative nice and tight, but i don't find it very fun to do (for fanfic) and this is like, my relaxing wind down hobby. i just wanna have fun haha. the only reason my fics like, make sense, is because i write at least one ending scene first thing and always aim for that, and also i write out of order so i kinda know the route of the story

nah my mom got my name from a baby name book in the 90s BUT what's wild is that she gave me and my brother Irish names based on the fact that she was told my grandma's birth family was Irish... which is wild because we had no proof of that until like 2 years ago when she was able to find half of my grandma's birth family thru those genetic testing family tree sites. so it's a good thing that was true because it would have been kinda weird in hindsight if we weren't

been thinking about this lately... currently i work in the R&D department of a biotech company and i like it a lot for the most part, and in general i really enjoy being a research scientist but i don't think it's a job i want to be in forever... in no small part because the role i'm in now is sort of "entry" level, so you're sort of naturally expected to rise through the ranks over the years but these days it just gets harder and harder to do that without a master's degree or higher. so i think i might go back to school once i decide what kind of specialty i would want to be in and then i think settling into a more established scientist role could be nice. but honestly i also think i'd make a pretty decent lab manager since i'm insane lol. also considered pivoting into science writing for a spell because i think that could be something i could do on a part time/freelance basis if i find myself in the family way but idk.

tl;dr i currently do science and would like to keep doing science without ruining my hands by pipetting for like 40 years

10 -Do you work on multiple wips or stick to one fic at a time?

Multiple ones, but I "limit" myself to max 3 fic at a time. My biggest challenge is finishing things, so I’ve been really pushing myself to balance some short pieces with only one long one. That being said, I have an idea document that I keep updated, so I don’t lose anything that I really like.

20 - Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

Canon is easier for some reason? I think that’s because I like working within confines of a pre-existing world rather than having A TON of possibility. That being said, I am warming up to AUs and have been trying my hand at them.

30 - How much do you edit your fics?  Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?

A ton. I try and get everything out at once. Then I read for plot…does it make sense (hopefully)? Then I edit for specific word choice. Then I go back and do this bit over and over until I get so sick of the chapter that I would rather clean my apartment. THEN I run everything through grammarly and pray it catches everything. Then I post… and then I find errors. : ) 

40 - What is your favorite world that you’ve created for a fic?

I don't have a lot out but BITW is my fav...which is just ACOTAR 2.0. SJM didn’t give us a lot on Montesere so I basically built an entire nation/economy/politics for several months so I’d have something to work with. It’s not perfect but I’m proud of it. 

50 - How would you describe your writing style?

I’m cheating here a bit. My writing instructor from when I took a class this year says that I like to write with visceral sensations err… like “feel it in your body” kind of things. I don’t know if my fanfics really embody that, but my original fiction definitely leans on sensations being a major component of my writing. I also am very plot driven.

60 - In [insert fic], what inspired the idea for the plot?

I’ll do a 2 for 1 on this one You’re going to laugh at this, BITW was inspired by The Cruel Prince, Natasha, Pierre, and the War of 1812 (aka War and Peace), St. George and the Dragon, and my desperate need for Eris to get laid by someone who will give him hell first. Heatwave is just inspired by Rockport, MA + My late cousin who had Elain’s job.

70 - Are you subscribed to any writers on AO3?

 My friends @bennylavasbuns + @praetorqueenreyna, and GreenZeus and LadyTess (both not on Tumblr????? idk). I need to use this feature more often. I didn’t start actually “USING” AO3 until recently so I’m still discovering how this site works haha. I am certain that in a month I will have about 30 writers on this list.

Back from 2015-18 I co-wrote a fic with a close friend. It was this very CW-style (like riverdale) queer drama about slightly supernatural-ish teens living in a mansion in the woods. I still have all of it. I wish I could do something with it one day, but the timing isn't right. It's two hundred typed pages...single spaced.

As someone on the sidelines observing, I am disappointed in how this whole situation is being handled. What do you think you’ll achieve by pointing fingers and spreading hate? Do you think the problem will go away? In order to resolve conflict, you need to have a civil discussion, and if you can’t come to an agreement, you can agree to disagree. So here’s my attempt at trying to fix the issue rather than spreading hate which accomplishes nothing.

@vanmccannonlyfans: I don’t know if any of these accusations are true but we’re going to put them to the side for the time being. I’ve been told that if you don’t have anything nice to say, it’s better to say nothing at all. Whether you believe that person or not is up to you but just be careful of what you say because although you can’t see their face, you’re talking to another human being with feelings. What only takes a few seconds to type can have a lasting impact on that person emotionally. Think before you speak. If something upsets you, don’t engage. It’s not worth your time. Simple as that.

@no-words-no-name and everyone else: I understand you’re upset but this isn’t how you solve the issue. If you’re starting witch hunts and sending hate through asks, you’re no different. Again—think about the impact your words and actions have on someone else and don’t you dare say they deserve it because no one deserves hate in any form. Not everyone you encounter in life will agree with you. You can have a civil discussion to work things out or you can agree to disagree. You cannot force someone to see eye to eye with you.

And some words regarding the privacy of band members, their family, and friends: I’ve seen the word “stalker” used incorrectly. A stalker is:

a person who harasses or persecutes someone with unwanted and obsessive attention.

If you are harassing the band members, their family, and friends asking them what’s happening with the band, that is not okay. Whether they want to tell us or not is their choice. Things are already stressful as it is. Have some patience and sympathy. Respect their privacy.

However, there’s nothing wrong with knowing information but not doing anything malicious with it. We’re all curious people wanting to know the latest information. Don’t make them feel like the bad guy when they’re not.

Okay, going back to the point of this post. Do I think this write up will do anything? No, but I hope it makes everyone think twice before saying or doing something harmful. It doesn’t take much to be nice. Life is already tough as it is. If everyone showed more compassion and understanding, the world would be a better place. At the end of the day, ask yourself this: why are you on Tumblr? You’re here to interact with people with similar interests. You’re here to have fun and to relax. Don’t take away that fun from others with this negativity.

Some predictions for s2 of The Legend of Vox Machina

(and how it will affect Gilmore’s storyline and how new fans perceive him)

If you will indulge me, here are the story beats I’m predicting for a 12 episode Chroma Conclave arc:

The dragons attack the city. Rawr. VM fight valiantly but end up having to retreat and teleport to Vasselheim to get help. 

Earthbreaker Groon tests Grog and tries to get him to ditch Craven Edge by telling him about Vestiges. Maybe even specific ones in a certain sunken tomb and Westruun. B-story will be our intro to Viktor and his chaos.

The sunken toooooooooooooooooomb. All angst and finally some focus on Vex’ahlia. Who is the least favourite female PC of all new fans to LoVM because the writers gave her nothing in s1. But that’s another rant.

The Herd of Storms. Kevdak. Westruun. Kaylie. Poppa Willhand. The one-on-one between Grog and Kevdak, ending with a cliffhanger where Grog almost dies.

Surprise, Grog doesn’t die. Now it’s time to fight Umbrasyl with the herd. Black dragon is down in one. No one is surprised after what happened with Brimscythe in episode 3. But wait! It’s Kerr! Let’s celebrate victory and give Keyleth a pep talk about leadership, because she’s the main character.

Time to head to the Feywild, little dogies! Find out why the twins are the way they are, introduce Artagan and watch the chaos, because we would never play down a fan favourite. 

This one is probably a two-parter, because everyone loves Artagan and if the writers don’t take advantage of the angst in Vex’ahlia’s choice between Saundor and her friends, then can they really call themselves writers?

We go to Marquet to grab Cabal’s Ruin, meet J’mon Sa Ord, get drugs for Scanlan, fly on a ship to Glintshore and all that lovely mess because we cannot deny Percival his swan song (his second swan song? idk).

Things have happened. They’re sad. Resurrection ritual. But we have the vestige and one BONUS vestige. Huzzah. Oh no! Raishan in disguise? Stab her, Percy! CLIFFHANGER

Nevermind, it’s fine. On to the elemental plane of fire. A card game. A pit fiend. A slave market. Vestige acquired. Huzzah. 

OH NO save KimAllura from bad mages at Fort Daxio. Then time to kill Vorugal so Raishan can prove herself. Where’s Larkin? Lots of treasure, including the Spire of Conflux. Now let’s do the Siege of Emon. 

The Siege of Emon. Wait, Raishan got away. Let’s go kill her ass. Big victory party. But at the end, Vex shoots a critical success arrow into the spinning ball of death and sees Thar Amphala on the other side. CLIFFHANGER. 

This leaves 0 room for Gilmore. It doesn’t leave room for Gilmore to single-handedly fight Thordak in episode 39. It doesn’t leave room for Vax to cry over his nearly-dead body in episode 40. Moreover, it would be an emotional beat no new viewers would understand, because Vax and Gilmore’s relationship has not been set up to BE that. 

In fact, I would argue that we GOT that emotional beat from Vax for Keyleth in the added FoD scene in episode 11-12. Look at my face. I’m totally fine that they took that moment away from Gilmore and appropriated it to Keyleth. Everything is fine. Mlm is valid in this show, we’re just not going to show you any apart from “harmless” flirting and Scanlan’s innuendos. 

Likewise, 57 makes no emotional sense. It’s not a huge shock anymore when Hotis stabs Vax disguised as Gilmore, because Gilmore is just an acquaintance. There’s no emotional impact. And the show has already set Hotis up as a little side gag in episode 5. Then how does Vax find out about his wings, you ask? Well, obviously it’s something about Keyleth and true love and why do you need Gilmore for that? There’s nothing special about him, and definitely nothing special to VAX about him.

There’s no need for Gilmore to create and maintain the shield over Whitestone. No need for Gilmore to save them from Vorugal in episode 64. At this point, new viewers would just wonder why time is being taken away from the main characters for this shopkeeper guy.

With all that, I can see Gilmore maybe MAYBE getting to fight Thordak with them in episode 12. But as of now in the story, we have no concept of his real power as a wizard, either. So bringing him along will no doubt seem random. VM will probably bring Allura along instead because it’s been established that she has old beef with Thordak, her boo Kima will be there (and c2 critters love their shield wife lesbians), and she’s also the imperial wizard of Emon. 

Please understand I’m not HOPING for any of this, but I feel like I can see it coming like a slow-moving freight train, and I’m just trying to prepare myself.

Every song has 3 "reviews": before looking up lyrics, after looking up lyrics and final.

1 – Cheese

BEFORE: Ohh the guitar riff. I am WEAK for guitar in this one. Probably a song I’d play waiting for the traffic light to go green. It has nice, somehow fun beat. But, we definitely could have survived without them naming types of cheese.

AFTER: Heh. A real fuck you in not romantic way.

FINAL: I appreciate the entire idea behind the song. Tho, we still could’ve survived without types of cheese.

2 – Thunderous

BEFORE: Idk why, but beginning reminds me of Rhythm Ta. Yes Changbineeeeeeey take it away.

Did I hear it right? "I’m not sorry, I’m dirty." Babes, are we okay?

Ah yes, Aussie line being more Aussie with each passing day. OMG THAT LAUGH AT 2:03 YES.

Oh I def heard it right, I’m not sorry I’m dirty. Cool, cool, ok. The rapapapam bought me, seriously.

It has very Kingdom!Ateez sound to it which isn’t a bad thing at all, I’m a sucker for Kingdom!Ateez. But… I don’t know, I miss either more intense build-up or beat drop. That would, like, totally kill me and pay for my burial.

AFTER: Oh. Changbin’s part is really, really good. Okay, okay, seriously props to whoever wrote the lyrics. But we really could’ve survived without I’m not sorry, I’m dirty.

Kkundeuri wasseoyo and Gyerani wasseoyo need to have a collab if you know what I mean hehe 😉

FINAL: I feel like my precious I.N had so much fun in this one, so I give bonus points. The song is good, the lyrics are bomb, but the sound lacks intensity. I wish they went with a bit harsher tone, the song would be absolute bomb slap then. All in all, I like it.

3 – Domino

BEFORE: GOING IN STRONG YES. Yeah, goodbye brain, I’ll be going around singing Domino, domino, DOMINO. Yo, that stop and then intense rap at approximately 1:15 is very nice touch.

Don’t kill me, but in my very humble opinion, Chan’s parts feel a bit out of place in the song.

Oh… I don’t like the pace change starting at 2:40…

AFTER: Ah, yet another fuck you, I’ll succeed no matter what you say song.

FINAL: Kinda have a feeling it might grow on me after a few days, but right now… Hm. I don’t know. Maybe one of those songs which need to marinate and which might slap after I come back to them randomly.

4 – Ssick

BEFORE: Oh, the beginning gives me Ikon vibes, yes please. Okay, okay, this drop at 0:50 is really good, I like it very much.

This song has nice transitions and per se, variety, that maybe previous songs lack. For now, my favourite song. It is repetitive, just like the previous ones, and that’s not a bad thing, but I think this one has the best mix of repetitive and filled with variety in beat.

AFTER: 3rd fuck you haters song? I mean sure, fuck haters, but isn’t dedicating 3 songs to them giving them a bit too much attention? This one isn’t just about fuck you tho, it’s also about being there for your friends and I like that aspect. It’s like fuck you to haters and i wuw you to friends and supporters.

Also very, very, very important and positive part of the lyrics is “Oh yeah, I know that I don’t have anything special. But, yeah, do you know that I myself am special?” This, boys, girls, rocks and flowers, this is very valuable lesson. You don’t have to own something special because you are special by just being. Don’t belittle yourself. Even skz is telling you that.

FINAL: From all the fuck you songs this is probably my favorite.

5 – The View

BEFORE: Awww very summery song, very sweet since the beginning. OH SHIT I AM CRYING WTF?

Fuck, this reminds me of a feeling, if you get me, but I don’t know which one? I like it. I LIKE IT SO MUCH. YES. BRING IT ON. BRING ON THE TEARS YES. (i am probably the only person being excited to cry but that says a lot about me sush please).

This is one of the songs I’d LOVE to randomly hear on the radio. Just driving to the beach, vibing you know.

And getting attacked by sudden rap and beat change because why tf not, you know?

AFTER: “Clouds like a submarine swim” I told you, summer vibes.

Ah, fuck. Here, it’s this why I cried. I sensed something in the way they delivered this part of the song and it was this: “The road in front of me seemed dark ‘cause i never ever let it go. Now I feel comfortable, I like it, this feeling and I’ll never ever let it go.” Not to be someone who’ll be like Aha! This is the meaning behind this! but to me this reminds me a lot of feeling stuck with bad self-image, both mentally and physically, and because I said this is like a summer song, my brain immediately goes to all those summers I hated my body and this one being the first summer ever that I didn’t actively hate myself. This part of lyrics is for me like finally breaking out of the shell or maybe a better expression, shedding old skin and just leaving it behind, going forward with new, more positive mentality and a sense of liberation.

“I like the view right now” is like 1) i literally like the view (sunset on beach type of vibe), 2) i like looking at you/myself and realising you’re feeling comfortable around me/yourself/myself, and/or 3) i like this new view on life I have.

Look, I could literally quote entire song and give in depth analysis of on what level they resonate with me, but I won’t do that. I’ll just say these are one of the best lyrics I’ve ever read and they’re so well combined with music ughhh. And the fact this song came at the right time in my life *insert chef’s kiss*

FINAL: I love it. It was really good before I read lyrics and after it’s like three times better. One of my faves on the album.

6 – Sorry, I love you

BEFORE: Nothing special for except for the slight angsty tones I hear. I like it, but nothing crazy. I’d like it to pop up on my playlist occasionally. I think it would be an absolute BOP for me if it was leaning more to the rock genre. Like, a bit slowed down with accent just on guitar and their voices. But, that’s just me always being a sucker for rock ballads. For some reason to me, best ballads and most songs which evoke strong emotion from me are the ones which accentuate the words, the voice and one instrument.

AFTER: Very convinced this song is written by the one who is watching Nevertheless (is it Seungmin? or someone else?). My roommate strongly disagrees with that, but look, I don’t make rules, I think, I say.

FINAL: I hate to admit it but it’s catchy. I’d love live band version of this ngl.

7 – Silent Cry

BEFORE: Interesting intro huh. But something doesn’t sit with me right with the rest of the song. I don’t know what. I really don’t.

AFTER: Yeah sure, hit me with depresso lyrics right in the beginning.

FUCK. The lyrics are really killing me.

FINAL: I just can’t suffer through music. Lyrics are amazing, but idk, music is so not my style and somehow don’t suit the lyrics.

8 – Secret Secret

BEFORE: WAIT WHY DO I HAVE EMOTIONS ALREADY IT’S ONLY BEEN LIKE 10 SECONDS INTO THE SONG. Fuck. I’m on the verge of tears. Imagine listening to this and then Ex I would straight up have emotional breakdown. Yeah, yeah, I’m crying. Leave me alone. The softness, the preciousness, the cuteness, ugh I am broken™.

AFTER: Yeah, fuck. I’m crying again.The lyrics are killing me.

FINAL: This song makes me very emotional, I am a literal mess right now. Kill me, resurrect me, kill me again.

9 – Star Lost

Not my type of song. Like, nothing’s wrong, it’s just so not my type.

10 – Red Lights

BEFORE: Well, the beat drop for sure slaps. The song reminds me of something, it’s either a movie or a song, but I can’t remember. And that’s not a bad thing, I just hate the fact I can’t remember what it reminds me of.

AFTER: “I’m staying up all night again.” I see what you did there, tsch.

“Now tell me you hate me I can’t stand you any longer. But I know, you and me, there’s nothing I can do.” this is very good. I like this.

FINAL: This song could be about so many things. Lust, control problems, feeling of losing yourself, not knowing what your stage personality is and what is real you, anxiety, insomnia, depression… The thing they really managed to do is achieving a level of intensity. I like the song more after I read the lyrics, but I have to say I thought it would be much, much more intense and in your face. I’ll let it crawl in my mind and heart. Slowly. Hehe.

11 – Surfin’

BEFORE: I’m not a fan of summer. Or summer songs. But this is good. Wtf. Something’s going on with me lol. I have nothing much to say, I like the song, that’s it hahah.

AFTER: Felix talking about working 24/7 isn’t something I thought I’d hear in such a summery song.

“My head is overheated just like my laptop.” yo Changbin, mood.

FINAL: I hate summer songs, but this one slaps. This is the only summer song I’ll ever love and accept. Absolute bop.

12 – Gone Away

More Religious Headcanons no one asked for

Okay so I stumbled across these on the Object Show wiki

(this can be an extremely cursed take depending on who you ask) But if I'm being serious, as far as I know, Religion is not mentioned in the shows BFDI - BFB but it's possible it could have been referenced in a spinoff or fanmade show. But there are some juicy head canons I came up with based on what I see here. TW: RELIGIOUS TRAUMA! Also, don't take this too seriously, this wiki was made by the object show fandom (not people actually involved in BFDI-BFB and I don't trust them anyway.) Also these characters are literally objects that could fit in the palm of your hand so it's nothing to freak out over (even though I myself am overanalyzing this for funsies)

1. Leafy

🍃 She's ethnically Jewish. Since Leafy is a lemon leaf, I figured she may be a lemon/Balady citron hybrid, since

🍃She is a very legalistic Christian. In canon, we see her keep a "niceness list" and has a ranking for everyone and ultimately tries to keep herself in the top rank. She makes judgements about right and wrong very quickly, and is very vocal about it, but she also insists that people can be forgiven and work their way back up. While saying this behavior is related to Legalism might be seen as an insensitive jab to some Christians, it kind of makes sense? Like,,, who else is that obsessed with being 'good?' 🍃Because of her legalistic background, Leafy is sensitive to traumatic situations along with possibly having her own religious trauma baggage. She is constantly afraid of not being good enough and while she asserts to others that she is good and that she is the nicest person in the group--she's quick to panic when something or someone indicates that she's not. She's very insecure and desperate for sincere friendships. Her religious trauma mixes with the trauma of being pursued, receiving death threats, and living in isolation for years, so she's very unstable. 🍃After BFB 22, Leafy begins to drift away from legalism as her friendships start to heal. She sees grace in her friends and she more freely offers it herself, though she still struggles with whether or not she's good enough. I could see her starting a Bible Study in the evenings when this happens. 🍃Leafy is probably the biggest advocate for mental health in her Church. 🍃Leafy would be the worship leader in a youth group and you know it.

2. Lollipop

🍭She's the woke Christian who probably wrote a book or devotional or something idk. 🍭She's a biromantic ace (and the only character I would headcanon an orientation for) since canonically, she does flirt with other characters (usually female), but it's usually in her usual playful/bantering/half-sarcastic way and is not intended to lead to a relationship. 🍭She thinks Moses and Elisha are big moods. 🍭She advocates for platonic partnerships and listens to Life on Side B podcasts. 🍭Defies societal expectations like a boss 🍭 Runs 40 Christian Minecraft servers and openly talks about being bi on all of them. Never swear on her server though. 🍭Probably homeschooled. I mean, just look at her attitude and how she laughs in the face of things like schedules. She would 100% homeschool any children she adopts. 🍭Speaking of adoption, she'd probably be like a nun, living with Gelatin and Flower like family, helping them run their businesses along with her own, and start an orphanage for small or disabled objects (because I don't think there's such thing as biological reproduction in their reality anyway) once they accumulate enough money. 🍭 Insists on reading the Bible in Greek and Hebrew, but doesn't know either language so settles for ESV and NASB interlinear much to her chagrin.

3. Gelatin

🍴 He's that one guy in youth group cracking the jokes that half the group facepalms at and the other half and the youth pastor just EXPLODE into laughter. 🍴 Gelatin's steakhouse is closed on Sundays, except for right after Church when he invites everyone to come over for lunch and offers discounts. 🍴 He probably has a stash of edgy Christian memes that he knows would make the pastor angry but one day his entire meme collection somehow shows up on the projector during Worship. 🍴 He would open a soup kitchen if he stopped insisting that all food must be eaten with forks. 🍴 Caters at VBS. Also does the silly goofy skits at VBS to keep the children laughing while waiting to be picked up by their families at the end of the day. (Half the time, he gets to be the child at VBS. He could be anywhere between 6 and 16 for all we know) 🍴 Prefers sprinkling to full submersion Baptism, but don't tell anybody in the Baptist Church Next Door to the Church he attends he said that please. 🍴 Whatever Lollipop is, he's her counterpart. No they are not dating. They are best friends. 🍴 He reads out loud from the Message Bible in Church much to his pastor's chagrin. 🍴 His favorite Bibles are the NLT Manga Bible, the Action Bible, and that one NIV Teen Study Bible from the early 90s with all the wacky graphic organizers and stuff inside that have that very 80s-90s aesthetic.

4. Ice Cube

🧊 Messianic Jew 🧊 She's the most chill girl in the congregation. 🧊 Passover is her favorite time of year. And she loves Matzah! 🧊 Obsessed with The Maccabeats and Veggietales.

5. Grassy

I skipped to him since he's the only other character from BFDI-BFB in the "Christian" section. He doesn't have a lot of screen time so I don't have much to go on, but he definitely goes to VBS and absolutely adores gelatin. 6. Bubble, Pen and Match go to the same synagogue together. Somehow, Match always wins Spin the Dreidel during Hanukkah. (Despite being ethnically Jewish myself, I don't know enough about my heritage to come up with good head canons) 7. I have no idea how Teardrop is Christian, Jewish, and Muslim, the only explanation I have is that she's basically Pi from Life of Pi, who is also a devout Christian, Hindu, and Muslim.

1. I would like to go to the movies with him. To be honest, I don’t really like the movies cause I have the attention span of a small rabbit, but it just seems like it’d be better with him there. After we’d go out to eat somewhere where we could talk about the movie and him making snarky comments about the bad decisions made.

2. I think he would take me on a classic date. Like a nice dinner, and then a walk on the boardwalk (I live by water, and it has always been a dream of mine for the Haikyuu!! Boys to walk with me on the boardwalk😞) where he holds my hand and gives me his jacket when it gets cold. (lol he’s one of the few characters whose jacket would actually be big on me cause I have *shoulders*)

3. This might be weird but hEaR me OUT. Him driving (definitely not cause I can’t..) while I sit in the passengers seat, us going to get groceries or food or something like that. He would let me play whatever music I wanted (@foodacoochie you already know who we’re listening to~) and smile as I beautifully sang along.

4. The fact that i’m reliable. I’m a responsible person, I do what’s expected of me and I do the best I can! I hate letting people down, and I want to be someone people can rely on. I think he’d like that he wouldn’t have to worry about me as much because I am very independent,  I’d also be someone he could go to for his problems because I would listen.

Numai Kazuma:

1. I’d want to go on an amusement park date! For some reason when I imagined going on a date with Numai, amusement park was the first thing I thought of. I just think it’d be so cute!! I’m not a fan of crowds, but I wouldn’t feel uncomfy cause he would be there to ~protect me~😌

2. I honestly think he’d actually take me on the amusement park date! (that or I really just wanna go to six flags right now-) He seems like someone who might be a little clumsy in a relationship at first, and dates is one of those things he just has to get a hang of, so I think an amusement park is a good first/second date cause I think he’d be more comfortable. (Did that make any sense?)

3. Our usual hangout would be at one of our houses just lounging on the couch on our phones with our limbs all tangled together and eating some kind of snack, showing each other funny stuff we find and what not~

4. I think his favorite thing about me would be my character. I’m very morally inclined, and I do what’s right because it’s right, I have a strong moral compass. I think he’d like that because he hates being called a cheater for being on Nohebi, so I think he’d like that, I also can’t stand cheating/lying.

Shirabu Kenjirou:

1. I would like to go to a museum with Shirabu. I love museums, I always have. I don’t even care what it’s about, I love pretty much all subjects, but history museums are my favorite.

2. I think he’d be down for the museum date, but I think he’d choose something like one of those couples paint lessons (?). Like, you go to a one time art lesson where all the couples follow an instructor to paint a picture. idk I just think that sounds like something he’d pick, and it’d be really cute.

3. Probably him making me sit down at my desk and do my homework :p It’s not like I’m bad at school, there’s just so many better things I could be doing. So it would probably be him making me do my homework when it’s assigned, not the night before it’s due😔

4. My bluntness. I am very blunt. I have a filter, and i’m sure it’s in great condition because it’s never been used✌😙. I’m not like Ushijima blunt, I have social skills, but things have slipped before. Nonetheless, I think he’d like that i’m straightforward and to the point.

Iizuna Tsukasa:

1. I would like to go on a beach date with him! For starters, I think he’d look real nice with sunglasses on (don’t judge me, it’s 12:40 am and i’m halfway through an iced coffee, I’m not thinking my thoughts all the way through anymore), and I think it’d be a good relaxation day, to just get away from everything and spend time with each other. I do think he’d splash me, or at the very least try to throw me into the water.

2. I think he’d take me to the mall, where we’d just walk around and look at the shops. I do think he’d be one of the best Haikyuu!! Boys to take to the mall especially if you’re shopping for clothes. He’s stuck between 2 sisters, he knows how to give solid advice without falling into the ‘does this make me look fat’ trap that most boys do. He’d also carry the bags🥰 (whether he does it by will, or by force is irrelevant)

3. Us cooking together! Whether it was baking a cake at 10 pm or making dinner together, I think it’d be fun to cook with Iizuna, and a regular thing that we just did together.

4. My sense of humor. I have a very sharp wit, and that paired with my bluntness has ngl lead to some funny conversations. I think he’d appreciate it because it would let him wind down from being captain of a powerhouse school. Cause with me he gets to be himself, with no pressure to be perfect.

Kunimi Akira:

1. I’d like him to take me to a baseball game. Now, I don’t actually like sports, but for some reason I like baseball. More like I like going to baseball games, cause it’s its own experience, but he would ‘watch’ them with me and eat a bunch of the good stadium food.

2. He’d take me to a concert. I think he would do this for my birthday, cause I love music. Even if he didn’t like the singer/band, he would go just to make me happy. AND, concerts are pretty fun even if you don’t know the artist, so I think he’d enjoy it too!

3. Him laying his head on my lap as he took a nap while I wrote my stories. I think he’d be pretty chill with me simping for fictional men, cause he’s my boyfriend, and it makes me happy so he’s fine with it~ The typing would just lull him to sleep faster so he’d really be fine with it.

4. My laugh. I can’t really explain this one, I was thinking one day and I just thought he would like it. idk man, this one just made sense to me~

HTTYD Homecoming Predictions + What I Want To See

So HTTYD Homecoming is 2 months away (the book I think is 1 I swear to Thor I will cry if I see spoilers) so I thought I could write down my predictions and stuff I'd look forward to seeing in the short before it comes out!

Predictions

1. The short takes place after the reunion

Based off of the description, the book cover and other information we have this short has to take place after the reunion. It says it takes place 10 years after the events of THW, same year as the reunion and it wouldn't really make sense for it to be before in my opinion. Plus the book cover and playmobil sets which lead me to my next prediction

2. The dragons (or at least Toothless and his family) will visit New Berk

This one seems so obvious to me because the title is Homecoming, the cover of the book shows Toothless, the Light Fury and the Nightlights on New Berk watching the Snoggletog pageant I assume (based on Jays recordings) and the playmobil set shows Zephyr and Nuffink playing with the Night Lights on what looks like New Berk so... safe to assume they stop in for a visit!

3. Someone will be dead

Now I don't want this one to be true AT ALL but since Viking lifespans are usually only into their 40's or 50's I predict somebody will be dead. Probably Valka or Gobber EVEN THOUGH THAT WOULD BREAK ME I DON'T WANT IT TO BE TRUE THEY WOULD BE IN THEIR 50's OR 60's SO I'M JUST PRAYING THEY LEAVE THAT IRL ASPECT OF VIKING OUT OF IT

4. Astrid will make Yaknog because even after 16 years NO ONE has told her it's DISGUSTING

Seriously, I made it. It's nasty. But I feel like she goes to make it and everyone is like "yeah great can't wait haha......" and Zephyr or Nuffink (probably Nuffink) will be like "Ew Mommy's Yaknog is gross why do you drink it?" or something idk I feel like that could totally happen

5. Stoick Flashbacks

Gerard is in the cast so you know what that means! GET THE TISSUES AND BE PREPARED TO CRY!

6. The 2nd reunion will make us CRY

The reunion in the epilogue of THW killed me and if this short has a reunion (and I'm thinking it will bases off of what I've said before) ANYTHING like GOTNF (which still gets me sometimes, especially after THW) then we are all going to C R Y legit I might start sobbing but I kinda want to. Just imagine this:

It's early Snoggletog morning, Hiccup and Astrid are asleep. They're expecting to be woken up by Zephyr and Nuffink excited to see what Odin brought, but instead its by a thump on the roof. That thump is followed by more thumps, bigger thumps that begin shaking the entire house. Hiccups heart stops for a moment before he slowly rises out of bed and makes his way downstairs while Astrid goes to check on the kids. He makes his way outside, all while the thumping continues, looks up onto the roof and sees Toothless smiling down at him.

I'M CRYING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT JUST IMAGINE THAT AFTER 10 YEARS HICCUP WAKES UP TO TOOTHLESS JUMPING ON THE ROOF LIKE HE USED TO, WAITING FOR HIM TO GO FLYING WITH HIM I JUST- I CAN'T PLEASE DEAN GIVE ME THIS

What I Want To See

1. That reunion scene I just wrote about ^^^

Seriously just thinking about it has me crying I would die if anything CLOSE to that happens. Scratch that the reunion in general will make me cry.

2. Zephyr and Nuffink with Valka

We will never get to see Stoick with his grandbabies *sob* so if we could see Grandma Valka even for just 1 seconds I would be forever greatful

3. Cheif and Cheiftess Hiccstrid

I'm REALLY excited to see Hiccup and Astrid together as leaders we got a little bit in THW but NOW they've been doing it for about 11 years or so I just.... I need it Dean pls

4. Gobber and Eret

Okay so we all saw THW, we all saw those little moments and hints and there is no doubt that Gobber likes Eret but in general I just want to see where they're at in their relationship I feel like they could be really close and good friends (or more owo) but yeah I just want to see that

5. Ruffnut and Fishlegs

Are they together???? Are they married??? (For the 2nd time if you count RTTE lmao) What's up with them I NEED ANSWERS PLEASE I'LL TAKE ANYTHING

6. Snotlout and Tuffnut

I'd love to see them being this iconic duo, being fucking amazing yet troublesome uncles for Zephyr and Nuffink like JUST IMAGINE THAT. Like they'd teach them to do all sorts of bad things and play pranks on Hiccstrid with them but they're also really protective of them and love them to bits. I want this so bad.

7. Toothless being a DAD

So in THW we saw him with the Nightlights but I really want to see him actually being a father towards them. I need more interaction between them it would be adorable PLEASE. Also I headcanon they only listen to the Light Fury. Like Toothless tries to get them to stop doing something and they just don't and the second the Light Fury says anything they're immediately at attention and behaving. Poor Toothless.

8. Momstrid and Dadcup

This one is a given but I just want MORE of them I am weak for Dadcup I will legit start crying just cuz its so precious I KID YOU NOT THAT WAS PART OF THE REASON THE END OF THW MADE ME CRY

9. Any and all Hiccup and Toothless moments

I miss them so damn much please Dean I need Them back so badly I will literally sell my soul to you plEASE THEY LOVE EACH OTHER SO MUCH THEY NEED TO BE WITH EACH OTHER AGAIN EVEN IF ITS FOR JUST 5 MINUTES P L E A S E

I’m so intrigued as to why you hated Peter Rabbit so much omg. Please tell!!

I’m putting this under a read more because it got really long and complicated. Sorry, but I have a lot of feelings and thoughts about this and Peter Rabbit is the vessel.

That being said, if you like the movie, that’s okay! You’re allowed to like it and you shouldn’t let me make you feel bad. I love tons of bad movies! Spice World always makes me smile!

Also I want to say that I am not blaming or mad at the actors, crew, the CGI people. Like they did the best with what they had and I don’t fault them. I mostly blame the writers, director, and producers. Especially the producers.

BUT we can’t forget that, at the end of the day, this movie was a cashgrab, merchandise factory of a movie. This is, as my old roommate coined, a parking ticket movie. Basically the only reason half of the people worked on this movie was because they got a bad parking ticket and needed some quick cash. I do not believe for a second that Margot Robbie or Domhnall Gleeson looked at this script and went “yes, this seems like exactly the kind of children’s movie I’ve always dreamed of doing.” Everyone involved with this film did it for the money or because they were contractually obligated. And honestly, that’s okay. I could live with that. These are their jobs and they’re allowed to make money. But when you do a project because you’re forced to, or for the payout, it shows in the work. We can tell when your heart’s not in it. But the movie had bigger issues than the motivations behind it.

1. The movie didn’t have a good villain. Perhaps this is because I’m older and have more sympathy but Thomas McGregor is a very ineffectual villain. We start the movie, meeting him, as if he were the main character! We see that he’s a bit of a control freak and that he can be a little rude to people and then we see him lose his job and have a mental breakdown. He gets this house in the country and all he wants to do is sell it and move on. The rabbits are actively (and against their own desires, but we’ll get into that later) working against him to make selling the house harder. This guy’s supposed to be the villain? This guy who basically lost everything in his life and just wants to go home and spends half the movie getting electrocuted because he doesn’t want animals in the house when he’s trying to sell it? Maybe it’s because Domhnall can make anyone charming, or maybe it’s poor writing, but I watched the movie asking why I was supposed to hate McGregor. He hadn’t done anything wrong! To be honest, as you go through the movie it seems like the rabbits are the antagonists! If the movie was hoping to make him a Cruella DeVil figure, they failed. Thomas is a sad, broken man and I just felt bad for him. Also I don’t enjoy seeing my husband getting beat up by CGI rabbits, it’s embarrassing, but that’s beside the point.

2. The romance between Bea and Thomas is forced, unnecessary, and unlikely to last. Considering they’re supposed to get married and have a baby in the sequel, I think it’s even more ridiculous. The third movie will have them getting a much needed divorce. Like this is a kid’s movie, I don’t know why it needed a romance?? But basically Bea and Thomas have absolutely nothing in common. This isn’t a cute ‘opposites attract’ thing, this is that their values and morals and desires don’t match up at all. They’re completely different people! The fact that Thomas spends the whole movie basically lying to get Bea to like him should be proof enough that whoever wrote the characters never intended them to be a legitimate couple. They’re pushed together because, idk it’s a movie and we have to have a happy ending which means a wedding because apparently we’re in Shakespeare’s time?? People are allowed to be friends and they work better as friends! Also do you think Bea knows anything about shibari? That’s what Thomas needs and you expect this little granola painter to be able to tie him up and rough him around? Oh please.

3. The movie is just bad. The humor and plot are very weak and the characters are mostly one dimensional. I think I laughed once during the entire time I watched it. I must admit, in an effort for transparency, that I didn’t finish the movie. I had to stop watching after 45 minutes because I couldn’t take anymore. What does it say about your movie that 45 minutes in and the plot hadn’t really even started yet? It was ALL exposition and that’s bad! This is a kid’s movie, the action needs to start sooner! The humor was oddly topical and unoriginal; the whole movie was. It was clear this was a rip off of Home Alone, Alvin and the Chipmunks, 101 Dalmatians, The Minions. If not through plot than through style. Playing a Top 40 song during an opening scene doesn’t make your movie better, it just makes it lazy. It’s clear you didn’t pick “Feel it Still” by Portugal the Man because it added something to Peter’s character. You added it because people know the song and it will make them sing along and smile. The plot is weak too, it doesn’t make sense. The whole point is that the rabbits want McGregor to leave... he does too! They actively sabotage themselves by pulling all these stunts on him. If they had just left him alone for 2 weeks, he could’ve sold the house and left. He probably would’ve sold it to some rich family that wouldn’t care about a garden full of animals! But instead they realize Thomas doesn’t like them and decide to electrocute him and humiliate him because he doesn’t want them in his garden for a specific amount of time that has an end date. Until the rabbits bothered him, Thomas didn’t care about them! If they had left him alone, he wouldn’t have ‘fallen in love’ with Bea and their other problems wouldn’t have happened too! They caused their own misery! What is this plot?! 

4. Bea is just an idiot and I can’t stand her. No shade to Rose Byrne because she is literally so pretty but the character is very dumb and annoying. She’s supposed to be Beatrix Potter which is also a very strange inclusion considering Beatrix was a real person and had her own life, just saying. But anyway, we can see early on in the film that Bea can communicate with the rabbits. They respect her and listen to her. So why does she let them, and at times, instigate them towards McGregor’s garden! She knows how dangerous it is and that Peter’s dad died there. They literally have the whole forest and her property and they can’t stay out of a 10 square foot garden? If she cares about those rabbits so much why doesn’t she grow some vegetables? Why doesn’t she stop them from bothering the guy who clearly wants nothing to do with them? She’s so caught up in ‘respecting nature’ and ‘being an artist’ that she’s so oblivious to everything else in her life and completely useless in every other way. Thomas deserves a better partner and Beatrix Potter deserved a better interpretation.

5. The characters are mean. Peter Rabbit is supposed to be a bit of a rascal and a scamp. He’s a troublemaker compared to his goody-two shoes siblings. We know this, it’s in the books. But everyone in this movie, especially Peter, is just so mean! Every other comment he makes is something disparaging against Benjamin or one of the other animals. He spends the whole movie being rude and dismissive and cocky. We’re supposed to root for this character? At times, considering his dialogue, Peter seems like more of an antagonist than Thomas. At least Thomas is nice to Bea, at least Thomas, in the beginning, only tries to keep the rabbits out and not hurt them. Peter’s a jerk and I don’t like his character. I don’t like any of the animal characters, they’re all so sarcastic and unsympathetic. So much of the ‘humor’ comes from one of the characters making fun of another and the jokes fall flat because of it. Beatrix Potter’s characters have such a softness to them, they invoke warm and cozy feelings. This movie was such an insult to her work.

Right before Peter Rabbit came out, I saw the Mr. Rogers documentary. Seeing him be so passionate about children’s media really made me think about the stories we give our kids. They deserve better than this recycled garbage! They deserve better characters and better stories. They deserve to be treated like human beings with brains and feelings and talents, instead of just mindless meat bags we plop in front of a screen to keep them out of our hair. I’m not saying that we can’t have entertainment that’s silly or stupid but when every kid’s movie is exactly the same, I start to feel bad. Children deserve quality! 

So here’s my pitch for a Peter Rabbit movie: Up until Thomas goes to drop the rabbits in the river, everything is the same. I would make Peter and his siblings nicer and more inclined to work together as a team but otherwise everything is the same. Then, right before Thomas drops the bag, he stops. What is he doing? What has his life become? He’s about to kill innocent animals because he lost his job? He sinks down on the bridge and starts to cry. He starts telling the rabbits, because he has no one else, how terrible he feels. His job was the most important thing to him. He has no friends, no hobbies, no direction. He doesn’t know what to do with his life now. Maybe Peter pokes his head out and snuggles up to Thomas, showing empathy. Thomas goes on to say that while he enjoyed his job, he realizes now that he wasn’t truly happy and that getting revenge won’t make him happy. He looks down and sees the binoculars, the first gift he’s gotten in years. He looks and sees the rabbits curling up against him and he thinks maybe he doesn’t have to sell the house. Maybe he doesn’t have to go back to his life. So, with the help of his friend Bea and the rabbits, Thomas learns how to calm down and enjoy life. He learns to appreciate the small things and respect the beauty of nature. Maybe there’s a funny montage of Thomas trying to mow the lawn or garden. Maybe he makes everyone dinner with his vegetables and it’s really bad and everyone makes a funny face. It ends (a little like the original ending) with Thomas realizing that he may have lost his successful glamorous job in the city, but now he has friends. Now he has people who care about him and good food on his table. So the movie ends on a toy shop. Thomas is showing a little boy how to fly a remote control plane. Benjamin and Cottontail are in the middle of a tea party with a little girl. Bea is wrapping a gift for customer and Flopsy gets her paw stuck in the bow. Everything seems perfect and wonderful when we hear a huge crash offscreen. PETER! End Credits

A long-ass response to nonnie dude

First of all, you said nothing about what made this cute guy accomplished. So he’s cute and has married rich? So what? What are his actual accomplishments? Has he mastered a difficult skill? Has he made himself a better person with more integrity or self-discipline? You need to rethink the definition of success. “Not to mention, I feel like a failure since I thought I had been doing better for a whole year” Doing better doesn’t mean “doing better than other people” or “doing better than random people on the internet who only portray the things that they want you to see,” it means doing or being better than you yourself were before. Congrats, you have succeeded! You’re right, time isn’t stopping. So you have two choices in life: 1) follow your passions and do what makes you happy 2) not do what makes you happy, and live and die miserable, regretting your life as you live it, and regretting it when you’re dying, and all the while you will be inflicted by guilt, regret, anxiety, and depression, etc.

And you’re saying that it’s too late to do number 1) because you’re already 26 and can’t earn money from it right now? (As if it’s not possible to earn money from it later!) I can’t formulate it into words how ridiculous it sounds to me that you can’t do what makes you happy if you can’t earn money from it. Is happiness only worthwhile if it comes with money? Lol, what sort of nonsense. “Reading and looking at beautiful works of fine art makes me feel elated and alive, but I can’t do it because it doesn’t make me money!” You see how nonsensical this is? (How many fics - or traditionally pusblished books - do you think would exist if people only wrote for money, not for the love of it?) You’re going to die one day, so what the fuck do you have to lose by doing what makes you happy? You have your life to lose by doing what makes you unhappy, btw. So you’re 26. Let’s say you live until 66, ‘cause I slept 2 ½ hours and did 3 hours of taekwondo today and don’t want to do any math - so you have 40 years left. 40 years (and you’ll probably live longer, if you take proper care of yourself) is enough to master several skills, or several instruments and several languages, if you wish to stick to only those two. Even if you only master them by age 65, you spent your life doing the things you love doing, so wtf did you actully lose by doing them? Also, why do you measure success by money? Isn’t doing what you love and developing yourself as a person, whether you ever get money for it or not, a much better measure of success? Or do you consider all the artists who were ahead of their time and died in poverty failures, or think they should’ve done something else since they never earned money from their art? If not, why do you have this double standard for youself? “I’m 26 now, but I feel I can never get away from my parents’ rules & influence.” That’s literally nothing but a feeling you have. It’s not actually stopping you, which you’ll notice if you actually do something outside of your parents’ influence. People are always justifying how they can’t do things because of some feeling or other, but it’s possible to have the feeling and choose to work from another part of you - a part that’s courageous, for instance, or passionate about music or languages. Feelings are irrational as shit, and you’d do well not to think you are your feelings, but look at them logically and as moods that will pass. I was really jealous a couple of months ago, but I looked at it objectively, deemed it bullshit, had several good laughs over how dumb my own feelings were, and did nothing about my jealousy except logic it away. I didn’t take it to heart - it’s just a feeling, a fleeting thing based on the experiences I’ve had in my life. It doesn’t really have much to do with reality. Your parents aren’t stopping you here with feelings - you are. Idk what your living or financial situation is, but if you’re only able to do what you love secretly, then fucking do it secretly. If it helps, I took until 30 (I’m 32 now) to figure out what I want. I absolutely wasted my 20s. I could now throw in the towel because of my age, and my life thereafter would be a fairly meaningless passage of time, going from one thing to the next. But time (my life) will pass regardless of what I do with it, so I can waste it or do something fucking useful with it, whether it brings me financial success or not. And let me tell you, I’m far happier broke and uneducated than my highly educated saving-for-a-house friend who lets her parents’ and society’s bs get to her, and determines success by external markers - marriage, owning a home, etc. She doesn’t like her job despite being educated for it: she chose it for financial security, which she isn’t even getting like she thought she would. She has so much anxiety and depression and feels like a failure because she’s not married and doesn’t have her house, despite her being way more successful than I am in all of these external ways. Measuring success this way will only bring discontentment, because there will always be people richer and whatever - but also because it’s external. I believe that real, lasting happiness comes from internal things - such as sense of accomplishment by skill acquisition, i.e. mastery; growing as a person via self-reflection, or devoting yourself to a cause bigger than you, such as a charity or art, etc. I think you know this, too, because you said music and languages instead of money and a good-looking partner! (Speaking of looks - you will be far more attractive when you speak several languages, sing, and play an instrument or two, whether you make a penny for it or not. If you live a bitter, regretful life, even if you’re a rich engineer, you will be less attractive, 'cause it absolutely shows. If you want to be more attractive, do what makes you happy.) Also, you are FAR ahead of most people because you know what you want. Most have no clue and thus spend their lives passively consuming and ignoring the fact that they’re wasting their lives in meaningless mediocrity. Your problem now is that, having achieved this knowledge, you can’t waste away your life and make-believe that it was well spent - you’ll know it wasn’t, because you know what you really want. So you can choose a life of increasing anxiety and physical & psychological sufferings, or simply do what you love. It’s that simple.
