Very hard session today. I really didn't want to go to the gym today, was looking for any discomfort to use as an excuse to call it quits. Had to tell my inner bitch to shut the fuck up and lift the goddamned weights.
The days that are the hardest are the ones that matter most.

okay, quick advice needed! 🌷💞💞💞
so since last year, I've found myself having really awful health issues, and they've been affecting just about everything — friends, family, internships, studies!
so! this year, I've decided to get myself to exercise more! which is quite lovely, however, I've found why I've always struggled exercising in the past:
spoiler alert, it's not because I'm lazy.
it's boring.
that's it, that's what I've ignored for so long. exercising and going to the gym, the grey and monotone equipment, the same routine every week, it's so incredibly boring.
I've heard a million times about "discipline", but failed a million times on it. my adhd gremlin brain simply does not want it. but you know what actually works? martial arts. taekwondo. badminton. but all things you can't do alone!
so here's the question:
how do you make your workouts fun?

I survived the wedding & I had a great time!
I definitely got some comments from my Ex, mostly about how she was mad at herself for fucking this up, because Dayum, I look so good.
Mmmhmmm.
Tumblr media
I did too. Super hot, for me.
In a super non trashy way because my dress had a high neckline and fell below the knee.
My gf showed up, which was not expected at all.
I felt a little suspicious, like she may have been trying to catch me misbehaving (not sure why I would think that).... but she said later it was a grand romantic gesture.
She is definitely reacting to me differently these days, more affection, compliements, etc....
Which is awesome but makes me so fucking sad, in a huge and weird way. Because I am the same person.... same humor, personality, ambition, etc.... I am just thinner.
Just thinner
I am not even small for a woman yet, I am just small for me.
Tumblr media
People's reactions to me are so different & it is creating some weird feelings.
Weird feelings
Weird feelings
Weird feelings
If anyone has any advice for me on how to get past the mid weight loss journey emotions and all that, please comment.
I am aware that stuff like this can cause internal struggle so please chime in.
I need your best words of wisdom if you have been thru this.
I am not even under 200 yet. Still very large.
Still very large.
I am only 5' 5.
So... feel free to comment your experiences with people reacting to you after losing a large amount of weight and any tips you have to get thru the weird feelings. I am afraid that somehow their comments will make me lose focus, regain weight, lose self-esteem progress, cause eating issues, emotional imbalances, etc.
Best responses? Because I have blanked out a couple times.

Here is an update… been working out at least 5 days a week (& now at work since I work at a gym & I’m already on my feet the whole time). I finally got the courage to go on the scale since I’ve been so disciplined and eating a lot less and when I do eat, it’s healthy. I was super disappointed because I’ve only lost about 30lbs… which means I’m still in the 200’s. Even though I went down 2 clothing sizes.. when googling it,the only thing that makes sense as to why this is happening is, I’m gaining muscle faster than I’m losing fat?? Does that sound right? I have barely eaten any simple carbs.. most of my carb intake (if I do eat any) has been complex carbs.. I’m always moving and burn between 2500-3000 calories a day and my meals are never more than 400-500calories; I don’t eat late at night after work anymore; I continue to hit my water goals, i dont eat until I’m full, just only until my hunger goes away… idk what else could be up other than maybe my birth control is holding me back??
If you have any advice it is certainly welcomed…

it’s so frustrating having to specify that my anxiety about working out has practically NOTHING to do with “what other people think”. It’s more like I’m scared I’ll go into sensory overload and feel like a failure. Does anyone else deal with this? Because I can’t ever find tips for dealing with this specific brand of gym anxiety. It’s always the social anxiety side. Which is totally valid and all, but so feel like my side isn’t prevalent enough to get support…

As more of us WFH, let’s all take a moment to remind ourselves of the importance of consuming healthful, consistent meals. It’s all too easy to favor meals that can be prepped quickly in an effort to save time throughout our day. However, taking an additional moment to prepare a meal (such as this one!) helps me to remain conscious of what I am eating—and, importantly, why. So, pace yourself where you can, and feel how the love you introduce to your meals fuels your mind and body!

Up 0.2 lbs from last week. Not much, but not the direction I am trying to go in. And I can't even blame it on a feeder yet.
Delay in Strength Training
I went to the gym last night to meet with the trainer I have been working with. Only he wasn't there. I asked another staff and was told he was no longer working there.
I hope he's ok.
Last week he had told me he'd had a bit of an accident and hurt himself with it. I was surprised he came into work instead of canceling/rescheduling. So, I suspect his departure might be related to that.
I am a bit sad about it. He was a good kid and I enjoyed the interactions.
But this also means that I am back at square one with gym stuff... I don't really comfortably know my way around a lot of the equipment and weights. And I feel really self conscious to do anything myself at the gym -- not self conscious about my body but just feel incompetent/awkward that I am doing it wrong.
I have some dumbbells at home. And can do body weight stuff. But I really would like to work toward being more confident/knowledgeable with weights/equipment at the gym.
Not sure what I do from here. And would legitimately appreciate any help/ guidance from the fitness people of Tumblr

On days where you're so mentally or physically exhausted it's still important to show up and do something, anything, the bare minimum, enough to say that you put in the effort.
Sometimes when all you have is 20% to give, giving that 20% is giving your 100%. Don't let your pursuit of perfection and lofty goals stop you from showing up when you're down.

Omg your fitblr is so inspiring!!❤️ But bad times happen ,too.. What should I do I felt out of my fitness process .. I’m just overeating all week long and literally the only thing I was able to do was run 3kms today.. How should I go back to track? I feel so guilty..
thanks! the blog was made to inspire so I'm glad I can do that for you
don't be hard on yourself! a 3km run is not easy so good on you for accomplishing that. my advice is to start slow. say you ran everyday in your prime. while getting back on track, don't try to run everyday, start from the bottom. if the run was hard for you, maybe run a shorter distance/walk until you feel ready to turn it up! your body will let you know when you are ready for more. hope this helps

New Blog Name
I have decided once again to change my blog name. I recently decided I'm no longer focusing on losing weight so I imagine people hoping for workout pics or weigh ins will be disappointed if they check out my "fitblrs". For the record, I am still continuing my health journey. I've just come to the conclusion that losing weight will be the natural consequence of living the life I want to live. I am still doing yoga every day and fasting and all the other stuff I have been doing for untold eons. I am and always will be trying to eat more veggies, drink more water and run more miles. But my journey now is basically all mental. Physical fitness is still a huge part of my life but I recognize now the things that were holding me back from physical fitness were my mental disorders like depression and food addiction. The only real progress I've ever made has been when I have finally figured something out. And there really is no fitness advice I could give anyone that isn't about mental health at this point. I made exactly no progress until I admitted I had a food addiction and started journaling through cravings and the urge to binge. And that was just the start.
So yeah. I have realized the problem is not my body, it is my mind. I'm just focusing on building the daily routine that leads to mental, physical and spiritual health so I changed my name to reflect that. I really feel like I've been on a journey lately and I'll still be taking you all with me.

Any fitblrs out there have advice for my browning toenails after my hike? ESP related to how not to get them again. I’m assuming it’s related to jabbing my toes on the ends of my shoes and I should really 1 get hiking boots or 2 tie my shoelaces and heel lock my sneaker sneaks lol.

A piece of advice from a 5 year experience fitblr
The majority of us recommend working out first thing in the morning. Don’t feel like you have to do this every morning. If you struggle getting up early, then do it 2 or 3 times during the week.

Question!
Hey Tumblr, it’s been awhile. I was wondering if any of you have any good/favorite Youtube home workout videos? I’m desperate! Just moved into a new apartment and need to get to work!
