Arts and Crafts Disaster
Warnings: blood, papers cuts, slight cursing, let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Castiel x reader platonic, Dean Winchester x sister reader, Sam Winchester x sister reader
Request: hello :))) I have a request!! Can you do a castiel x child reader where castiel has to babysit child reader again, but child reader somehow injured themself and dean and sam come back from a hunt to a crying child reader and a panicky cas? thanks!! love your stories btw<33
Request by: @homowholikespace
*not my gif*
Summary: Cas is back to babysit again
A/N: There’s some references to a past work of mine —> Of Cats and Angels; Also, yes paper cuts do hurt that much. No, it’s not dramatic
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
“Cassie!” You cheered as soon as the angel landed in the bunker's library, hurrying over and wrapping your arms tightly around his leg in a hug.
“Hello, Y/n.” He greeted, patting the top of your head fondly.
“Thanks again for watching her, Cas.” Dean spoke up, striding into the room as he slung a duffel bag containing all he would need for the upcoming hunt over his shoulder.
“It is no problem.” He answered the eldest Winchester honestly, nodding along as you already began babbling to him about one thing or another.
Dean gave him a smile, clapping him on the back before trailing after Sam, who had walked up the stairs and out into the garage moments ago.
The two of them were going out on a hunt a couple miles away, so they called up their angel friend to babysit you once more. Considering the last time had been a success, save for the newfound kitten that now roamed the halls of the bunker.
“Say ‘hi’ to Sir. Fuzzy- Bottom Mittens, Cassie!” You demanded, presenting the cat up to him as soon as your brother disappeared.
“Hello, Sir. Fuzzy- Bottom Mittens.” He echoed, reaching out a finger and gently scratching the small thing behind its ear.
You grinned up at him, satisfied, and set the cat free on the ground, “What are we gonna do today?” You asked eagerly.
From the look on your face, he could tell you were hoping that today would end with you gaining a new pet again. But he couldn’t let that happen, he doubted your brothers would let it slide again. It was pure luck he got away unscathed after they found out about Sir. Fuzzy- Bottom Mittens last time.
“How about some arts and crafts?” Castiel suggested.
After the last time, he had done some research on what children liked to do, and this was one of the top results he had found.
You squealed, nodding up and down happily before skipping off to go get some art supplies Sam had left in a nearby closet for you and returned with a box filled to the brim with different papers, colored pencils, markers, and crayons.
You happily dumped them on a table and you and Cas set to work, a determined silence falling over the two of you like a blanket.
Working side by side, you each were laser focused on your own projects at hand, Castiel trying to draw a rainbow with the perfect mix of colors, and you working hard to draw a family picture of you and your brothers- featuring Castiel and Sir. Fuzzy- Bottom Mittens, of course.
This went on for hours. Every time one of you finished your drawings, you wouldn’t find it satisfying enough, and would crumble it into a ball, toss it into a nearby wastebasket, and start over. There was definitely something admirable about both of your determination to get your pieces of art just right.
Finally, a wide grin broke out onto your face as you stared down at your paper, “Cassie! Cassie, look! I did it-“ You whipped your paper into your hands all too quickly to try and show the angel your finished product. The material sliced across your finger in such a way that it began to bleed immediately. Paper cut.
Both of you stilled for all of a minute, until the pain stung harsh and fast and tears began to fill your eyes.
You began wailing right away, sticking out your wounded hand as if it was infected, and Cas’s panic quickly filled his silent void.
“Are you alright?” He asked hurriedly, “What can I-“
You just kept bawling though, the sting of the paper cut that dug deep fresh in your pain.
Poor Castiel had no idea what to do. He had never been in this situation before. Sure, he could reach over and easily heal you with a touch, but all logic seemed to fly out of his mind the second you began sobbing.
“Hey! We’re home!” As always, Dean and Sam burst in at just the wrong moment.
The second your cries reached their ears, they flew down the stairs in a blur of movement and panic, very similar to Castiels, not stopping until they were right in front of the two of you.
“What is it?” Dean panted instantly, “What’s wrong?”
With a wobbling lip, you held out your scarred finger to them, and they both let out simultaneous breaths of relief.
“Oh, sweetheart.” Sam cooed, shoulders relaxing as he scooped you up into his arms, letting you burrow your face into the crook of his neck, “It’s okay, you’re alright.”
He lead you off to get a bandaid and Dean whirled around to face Cas as soon as he was out of sight, “What the hell, man?” He demanded.
The angel shrugged helplessly, “Just a moment ago she started crying very loudly and I didn’t know-“
You and Sam entered back in the room, hand in hand, as you wiped your eyes and nose with the back of your sleeve, calming down significantly.
“Are you alright?” Cas immediately asked in concern.
You nodded shyly, focusing your eyes on the ground as you shuffled your feet up and down.
Sam smiled down at you softly, squeezing your hand gently in reassurance, “She’s alright, just got a bit freaked out, that’s all.”
You sniffled slightly, gently letting go of Sam’s hand and walking back over to the table, lifting up your drawing- very carefully this time- to show the three men your hard work.
“Wow, great job, kiddo.” Dean praised instantly, reaching over and ruffling your hair, emitting giggles from you.
Sam grinned, studying the drawing of himself, “The hair is spot on.” He remarked.
“It looks wonderful, Y/n.” Castiel told you honestly.
All four of you were standing in a line in the picture, holding hands and wearing bright smiles, Sir. Fuzzy- Bottom Mittens of course hanging a couple inches above all of you in the air, doing so with the powers you were convinced he had and just never used when you were all around.

Hello, i dont know if you're taking requests at the moment, but I was wondering if you could do a denji x little sister reader. You can write whatever you want. Also, sorry if this is wordy. This is my first time asking for to be written.
Tumblr media
Platonic! Little sister! (Y/N) x Denji
Tumblr media
You're the most important female in his life, not even Makima could compare to you. If you even utter a word about disliking Makima, all of a sudden his feelings are dropped. "Makima who?"
If you're a normal civilian, Denji's always going to make sure you're somewhere nice and safe before even thinking about hunting a devil. If you're a devil hunter, well, tough luck; Denji's still going to be protective of you and make the job take even longer than necessary because of his rebuttals. He just wants to make sure you're safe!
Can and will fight anyone who insults you. Yes, you may live on the streets with him. Yes, you might've not had a shower in who knows how long. Yes, your hair is matted, but they don't have the right to insult you. Denji might be a skinny person, but he's been on the streets since he was a kid with you (and he's a devil hunter) so he knows how to fight. Even when he does have his (Aki's) apartment and someone picks on you, well, he now has his own trash can to dump their remains in instead of a local dumpster.
Denji will always make sure you eat your food; especially your vegetables. No buts! You need to stay healthy!
Denji would actually die if something bad ever happens to you. He lost his mother and got placed into a shitty situation thanks to his dead dad, you're the only one left in his life and he'll fight tooth and nail to make sure you stay with him.
Denji was a little afraid that you wouldn't like Pochita when he brought him to your little shack one day. He really grew a bond with Pochita, but he doesn't want you to be upset or scared of the devil dog. He was very happy when you accepted Pochita with open arms.
Denji will let you use his jacket as a blanket. You can cuddle up with him and Pochita too if you're too cold. He knows he doesn't have much to provide for you (and he feels awful about it) but he wants to make sure you're at least warm at night.
Denji will always make sure you and Pochita eat first before him. Your needs come before his own.
When Denji moves in with Aki and Power, he's very cautious of them (especially Aki). Denji wants to make sure Aki and Power won't hurt you, so he's always keeping a watchful eye on them.
Denji was more lenient on Power. Of course, he still kept an eye open at all times, but he was glad to find you and her roughhousing one day (yes, you got hurt since she couldn't control her strength. She was really sorry about it but refused to admit it, so she let you play with Meowy all day).
Aki slowly started to gain Denji's trust when Denji miserably failed to make your favorite food on your birthday. Denji woke up extra early to surprise you but was having so much trouble that Aki smelt burnt food and ended up waking up. He found Denji dumping out another batch of burnt food and ended up helping him (just so he didn't waste all his money on restocking the groceries). Yes, Denji took all the credibility. No, Aki did not care enough to try and correct him.
Manga spoilers ahead, so if you don't know who Nayuta is, don't read!
When Nayuta comes into the picture, Denji was a little hesitant of it. Two kids to take care of? He can barely take care of himself on good days! Kishibe insisted that Denji take Nayuta in so he really didn't have much of a choice.
There's some silent jealousy between the two of you, but Denji is too dense to realize it. Denji thinks you two stare at each other because you're very curious and excited to become friends/sisters! Denji was very relieved to see you both coloring together (Nayuta was ruining your zebra with red crayon, so you ruined her dog with a blue one).
When you and Nayuta finally got along with each other, Denji finally realized the rivalry the two of you had going on. He felt a little bad that he didn't realize sooner since he could've tried to help you two get along, but he's really glad that you both were able to set aside your differences to focus on your main goal: care for your big brother, Denji!
Now you and Nayuta do everything together! Drawing, watching TV, playing at the playground, you're basically inseparable twins! You even share the same classroom together (if you're around her age). If you're older than Nayuta, you drop her off at her school and pick her up when it's over. Nayuta is always bouncing with unseen excitement when she sees you and Denji from her school gates, ready to take her home.
I really hope you like dogs because Denji has a lot of them now that Makima's gone. Denji will build a fence in his apartment to keep them out of your room if you're allergic or dislike them. If you do like them, that's great! You can help Denji and Nayuta walk them, feed them, bathe them; it'll be fun!
Denji really loves you and Nayuta and is very protective of you. He knows you and him have had a hard uprising, he just wants to make sure you're happy and content with the life you have now with him, Nayuta, and many dogs. If you're not happy, he'll try his darn best to make it better for you.
Tumblr media
Thank you for my first request! I'm happy to be of service! (The Denji Drought on Tumblr and any other website is serious, stay hydrated y'all).
I hope you enjoyed this! If you have any requests, feel free to ask! I have a masterlist on who I write for on my profile. This applies to anyone!

PRINCESSCONSUELA'S FALLFEST EVENT🍂🧣🎃🍃
🧣 - Cozy Up: Send in any fluff requests from the prompt list that should be posted shortly. I will write a short blurb for any prompt.
Tumblr media
—🧣
Summary: it’s Halloween, so you convince the boys to go trick or treating…even though you’re all on high school now.
Warnings: cursing, South Park…all warnings that come with that.
Authors Note: I’m so sorry this took so long, but I adored this idea!!! More Fallfest docs coming out tonight!!! Enjoy!
—🧣
IT WAS AN EXCEPTIONALLY WARM DAY FOR FALL IN SOUTH PARK. Like Cartman liked to say, the only two seasons in South Park were Winter and July, but today was different. It was warm, WARM! In South Park! You couldn’t just let that pass up.
“Come on guys, please! Look at the sun, it’s shining! Have you ever seen the sun before?” You rambled, practically running circles around the boys as they walked to class. You and been friends with them since the 4th grade, and now being Juniors in high school, it was safe to say you were very close.
“Yes I’ve seen the damn sun before y/n.” Cartman snarked, choosing to miss the point of what you were saying. You rolled your eyes, shoving him lightly as the other boys chuckled.
“We could be scooby doo, or, what about..”
“I swear to god, if you suggest crayons again I’m going to scream.” Kyle said, making you groan, shaking him lightly with impatience.
“Oh come on you guys.”
“I don’t know y/n it’s just, we’re in high school now. Isn’t there like, a legal age limit for trick or treating.” Stan said, making Cartman scoff, nudging you back.
“Yeah, it ends at 8 years old.” He teased, making you roll my eyes yet again.
“I’m sure Kenny wasn’t to go, don’t you?”
“Anything for free candy.” Kenny said, the two of you high diving as Cartman rolled his eyes in defeat.
“Yeah you know what, I can be a kid for the night for some free candy.”
“You don’t need anymore candy fatass.” Kyle teased, Cartman turning to look at him angrily.
“Aye!” He shouted, as you and Kyle laugh to each other.
“I guess I’ll go. Got nothing better to do anyways.” Stan says, shrugging as you jump up and down with excitement. You turn to Kyle, rubbing your shoulder happily against his as you smiled.
“Yay! So Kyle, what’s it gonna be?” You teased, making him sigh.
“Fine.” He pointed a finger at you. “But I’m not being a damn crayon.” You nodded in agreement before jumping and squealing happily.
—🧣
SOMEHOW YOU HAD MANAGED TO CONVINCE THE BOYS TO BE THE GHOST BUSTERS. You had found a bucket of green paint in Stan’s farm-from good knows what- and paint Cartman head to toe in green paint. You sewed together some makeshift green outfit for him to wear and deemed him the ghost to your quartet. You can only imagine how happy that made Cartman.
“Why did I have to be the ghost?” He whined, stomping behind the four of you as you came up to your first door.
“Because your fat.” Kyle said, not missing a beat.
“Aye!”
“What he meant to say, was that you just shine, like a ghost would shine.” You say, as Cartman scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“Oh cut the crap y/n.”
“Trick or treat!” You all shouted, bright smiles on all your faces as the two adults at the door greeted you with excitement.
“Oh honey look, it’s the ghost busters!” The one woman said, nudging her husband as she pointed out Cartman.
“Yeah, and Bruce vilange.” Her husband cheered, making Cartman fume.
“God damnit I’m not Bruce villange! I’m a ghost!”
“Oh, of course you are honey.” The woman said nicely, making cartman scoff, grabbing the serving bowl from the lady and dumping half of it into his pillow case, causing you and the other boys to laugh.
“Just gimme the damn candy.” He grumbled, making you lean onto Stan as you laughed even harder. “I hate you guys.”
—🧣
“YOU GIVE ME YOUR ALMOND JOYS AND I'LL GIVE YOU MY PRETZELS.” Cartman bargained, making you frown as you held the blue wrapped candy up to you chest protectively. The five of you were now sitting in Stan’s living room, the contents of your pillow cases spilled out infront of you as you made trades for candy. Most of the time, when you were younger atleast, all the bags of chips and pretzels and drinks that you all got, you would all donate to Kenny, so he could take something home for his family. And besides that, he got to bring home the candy no one else would eat. Now Cartman on the other hand, would always try to go to bed Halloween night with even more candy than he had walking in the house. You of course, wouldn’t let this happen.
“But I want my almond joys.” You mumbled, a pour on your face as Cartman sighed, waving the bag of pumpkin shaped pretzels in the air.
“Well, don’t you want some pretzels?”
“Sure, here. I’ll give you my almond joys.” You handed him a few candy bars as he clapped excitedly.
“One bag of pretzels is equal to four.” Cartman corrected, making you roll your eyes.
“Right okay, well pretend that makes sense. Now, you give me your pretzels.”
“Ooo, ghost and pumpkin shaped, how spooky. Now, you give me back two almond joys.”
“Okay.”
“And I give you back your pretzels.”
“Okay.”
“Now you give me three more almond joys.”
“But there’s only two in my hands.” Cartman pouted, as you shook you head at him, gesturing to his pillow case.
“Then take it out of your bag.”
“Good idea.” He said, quickly digging for almond joys in his bag.
“Okay, and now you give me your pretzels.”
“Perfect. Aye!” Cartman yelled, watching angrily as you proudly stuffed both the new almond joys and spooky pretzels into you bag.
“No more candy trades boys, I’m all out.” You teased, dusting off your hands as Kyle Stan and Kenny all applauded you with amusement.
“That was amazing.” Stan muttered, making you chuckle as Cartman pouted in the corner, almost just like when you were kids. It was wonderful to be kids again on Halloween. Something the boys had missed. And even if they wouldn’t admit it, in fear of bruising their pride, they were happy you convinced them to go.

I see that your ask are open for request and I see that you do fnaf and I was wondering do you do all the Fnaf games like for example Security Breach if sooo
Can you do worker y/n x Yandere moondrop/sundrop
(Either one is good moondrop or Sundrop or even both, I just love them so much)
Of course! I love those two lol.
DAYCARE ATTENDANT X WORKER!GN!READER
Tumblr media
cw: yandere, possessiveness, blood mentions
REQUESTS ARE STILL OPEN
You sighed, making your way over to the daycare, wheeling over your massive cart as your heart filled with dread.
The daycare was not your favorite place to clean in the Pizzaplex, namely because once you think you finished cleaning one thing, another thing always pops up. Oh,you finally scrubbed out the blood an injured kid dripped onto the mat? Guess what, there’s a new crayon mess you somehow missed! Oh, you finished cleaning off the crayons? One kid found a sharpie and drew inside the slide, guess like you have to clean that up!
These kids were always so messy, and it was moments like this that made you wish that there was another person working with you, as much as you hated working with other people.
You made your way into the daycare, which was just as messy as it normally is, only this time something else was there.
The Daycare Attendant, the Sun.
He was picking up the mess that the children made before the daycare closed. He noticed you walk in and gave you a wide and excited wave.
"Hello, Sunbeam!" He said, "I’m helping you pick up!"
Sunbeam was Sun's nickname for you. He bounded his way over to you, dumping some trash into the nearby bin and soon after wrapped his arms around you in a warm embrace.
You, in turn, hugged him back. He was a solace after a long day, and usually he’d spend his time trying to entertain you.
Yet today seemed… different. He was acting strange the past month, acting more protective of you. He's also been asking more personal questions about you.
Today was different, after cleaning up the mess that the children made he simply wrapped himself around you and hugged you once again.
"Sunbeam, why do you leave every night?" asked Sun.
"I have a home to go to," you answered, "I have to pay bills, pay rent, pay taxes… I have to do a lot of stuff, it’s the responsibility of living,"
Sun didn't look so pleased.
"But those are all bad things!" Sun said, "Don't you want to stay here and play forever?"
You were silent for a bit, Sun anticipating your answer.
"…No,"
Sun was silent, but you spoke again.
"I don’t mean that… I dislike you, quite the opposite, but… I have friends outside, and I have a life to live,"
"What could be more important than your very special best friend?" Sun asked.
"My family? Family's important," you responded.
Sun didn't respond, but didn't let go. You snuggled into him, to help make up for you not staying with him forever, yet he still didn't let go.
"Uh… Sun?" you asked, "Can you let go?"
"No," Sun said, chillingly.
Your stomach dropped. He was serious about you staying with him forever. You quickly wormed your way out of Sun's grasp and made your way over to the exit, but Sun was surprisingly agile and was faster than you, blocking the door with his body.
"I didn't want to do this, Sunbeam," Sun said, before reaching for the light-switch and turning the lights off.
You took out your flashlight and aimed it at the door, only to find Sun wasn't there… there was nothing between you and the door.
You ran over and grabbed the doorknob, but a pair of hands wrapped around you.
"It's nice to meet you, Starlight~," a deep voice says into your ear. You snapped your head to find that the Sun was replaced with a similar animatronic, one that represented the moon.
"Moon?" you hesitantly asked, to which the attendant nodded.
"Let's not stay up any longer~," Moon said, "You'd be naughty if you stayed up past your bedtime, and I don't want to punish you, Starlight~,"
Moon effortlessly picked you up and brought you into the rear of the play area, where a small tent was set up. His red eyes bore into you as you both entered the tent.
He set you down on a pile of blankets, taking a spot next to you and snuggling into you.
"Good night, Starlight~…" Moon cooed.
You were exhausted, and while you did try to put up a fight, exhaustion kicked in and you fell asleep in his comfortable arms.

Shakey Sundays #14:
Stills-Young Band's Long May You Run
Tumblr media
I've gone all soft on Stephen Stills of late. After seven straight months and 50+ posts spent excoriating Neil Young's nemesis/buddy/paste-eating boyband classmate I've given Stills a break in March. He had no business interrupting my vital appreciations of Karl Wallinger, Kris Kristofferson and Sandy Denny. There was barely room for him in my far less vital ruminations on Neil Young's Life or Peace Trail.
But your play time is over young Stephen. It's time to pack away your blocks, crayons and wah wah peddle and face my puritanical, yet objective, judgment regarding a core phase in your suckiness: that's right, it's time for me to actually listen to all of Long May You Run.
It took me a few years to find this relatively common-place Dollar Bin record way back when in the 90's. That's because all my usual haunts dumped their fairly worthless copies of Long May You Run in the never-of-any-interest-to-anyone-with-a-decent-sense-of-ethics-and-self-respect Stills, Stephen section instead of in Young, Neil.
But I knew the album's title track from Decade and from what remains my most prized Neil Young record: a bootleg copy of his 74 Honey Slides Bottom Line Show (note: the bootleg is better than Neil's recent official release of the show in that every rambling, humble word and harmonica fumble remains intact). That bootleg was so expensive at a very sketchy shop on the Santa Monica Promenade (the place also sold Star Wars ephemera and water pipes) that I convinced three of my buddies to chip in $5 each in exchange for my commitment to have it transferred to tape for each of them post haste.
Every moment of the show is rich and fulsome, including the premier of the song Long May You Run, which Neil introduces as a song he wrote for his new bus because he can no longer deal with flying airplanes, a detail that goes a long way to understanding the concept behind one of his most complicated records, Landing on Water.
youtube
And so I am still never prepared to hear the original album mix of this song. Young ditched not just Zuma-era Crazy Horse but also his savant producer David Briggs to make the entire coked-up record; out of an equal mix of savvy and bitterness Briggs then remixed Stephen Stills almost entirely out of the song on Decade. He also chucked the most Briggs-like event in that original version, a what-the-hell-just-include-it errant harmonica blast before the song gets started. "No sloppy sounds are allowed, Neil" Briggs boomed from his captain's chair. "Not unless I'm around to approve them!"
youtube
The song is a Young classic, sure, but it's never been one of my favorites. Too pretty; too earnest. Yes, the verses include a good sex joke (we found things to do in stormy weather) and some juicy Beach Boys non sequitors, but Young is too wasted to land his own jokes.
Neil has a dozen or more different ways to sing while wasted. There's his terrific tequila stagger (just about everything on Tonight's the Night), the terrifying "someone, please someone, pull me out of my dumpster of sorrow" vibe on songs like Pardon my Heart and Borrowed Tune, not to mention his, "Hey, everybody look! I'm so high I'm a flapping penguin" vocals on Vampire Blues or Cripple Creek Ferry.
I could go on; Neil is a connoisseur of making art while altered. The only time Neil sounds unappealingly stoned is whenever Stills's percussionist/vocalist/dealer Joe Lala is around, cutting lines of coke for everyone on his handheld mirrors. Here are Lala and Young together during his Trans tour. Neil is inquiring where he went wrong; Lala is indicating that it all goes back to hiring him to play bongos.
Tumblr media
Throughout Long May You Run, it sounds like Neil keeps catching glimpses of himself in Lala's chop glass, and every time Stills and Joe are there grinning over both his shoulders; you can hear the dull, self-loathing result in Long May You Run's vocals.
The same thing happens, only worse, on Young's potentially best song on the record, Let It Shine. I first came to the song via driving and soaring cuts from 76 Japan bootlegs (catch my details on that vital tour here).
youtube
But on the record Young sings Let It Shine with self-hatred and a layer of very unattractive menace. There's nothing funny here; it's just ugly. And the guitars sound like they too are supplied from Joe Lala's terrible stash.
I've never done cocaine. The reasons are many: too scary, too expensive, too many lives ruined by the drug trade, and did I mention, too scary? But I've never really needed to think twice about the drug because I've heard this song once a year, or so, for the past 25+ years. If this is what coke does, I want nothing to do with it.
youtube
Neil shakes all this weighty failure off a few times on the record. He sounds appealing silly on Ocean Girl, helps the band make a Bee Gees audition tape on Midnight on the Bay (Joe Freakin' Lala passed the test; I imagine Stayin' Alive is the best song he ever performed on) and earnestly asks us about some complex nonsense on the Florida-based, wave riding precursor to Surfer Joe and Moe the Sleaze, Fountainbleau.
youtube
For the record: I do not know who put the palm over your blond, Neil. Nor do I know who's been moving everything to where it last was seen. But I do know that Joe Freakin' Lala does everything he can to wreck this otherwise groovy track with his terrible, whoops-I-dropped-my-bong-on-my-bongos-again percussion.
I only play this record when I've got the chance to sit beside the turntable. That's because there are four Stephen Stills tracks littering up the mix, each of them unlistenable. But I will now make myself listen to them anyway.
Here goes:
Make Love to You is ugly terror. Stills thinks he's Ray Manzarek meets Neil Diamond. He gathers the band around him to buff and polish both his nails and his lizard skin pants. The song was recorded 48 years ago but the "girl" in question is probably still in hiding after hearing Stephen the bar crawling man monster bust out his bluesiest warble to announce that he wanted to make love to her and that it was gonna take all night.
There's a flute driven bridge planted in the middle of this harrowing track like a Trump Flag at a pro wrestling event; someone get me the hell out of here before Stills wants to make love to me too.
youtube
Black Coral is a soundtrack for my nightmares. The piano riff is fevered and gross, Joe Lala thinks he's getting paid per beat, and Stills has shanghaied us 200 feet down underwater (with Jesus of Nazareth apparently in attendance, I guess? Maybe he forgot how to walk on water?). Stills has no coherent plan other than reminding us to take care: turns out he's more than a terrible musician, he's also the world's worst scuba instructor. There's more flute here too. The drummer, Joe Vital, is responsible. He probably figured, I played a mean flute in elementary school so, what the hell? How could a song like this get any worse?
12/8 Blues is actually worth listening to, once, so as to hear Neil's tiny, I'm a mouse and I'm trapped, backing vocals and his fairly killer guitar. But the riff is toxic and so are the lyrics. Stills tells he's dying, but don't get your hopes up. He wants us to know that he's "got the music" and he grunts like he knows how to pump iron while Neil tries to make something worthwhile out of it all.
youtube
The album closes with Guardian Angel, which somehow manages to be boring and nauseating all once. Lala shows off his touch typing skills throughout. Curses upon him. Stills' guardian angel demanded reassignment the moment they heard this song.
Neil has a guitar solo towards the end of Guardian Angel that's mixed to sound like he's in another state; which of course he was, as he literally told them all to eat a peach and went back to Crazy Horse at his first sober and available moment.
And that's exactly what I'm going to do now too: leave the Stills-Young band solidly in my rear-view mirror, listen to Zuma and recover.

I found this template and I thought it would be fun to do. I think Fem!Gappy was the one drawing where I was personally gushing about how cute she was, I especially loved how her hair turned out. As for the halloween ones it was a major chibi art with a different coloring style than what I’m used to. It was like using a crayon on a brown paper napkin!
Art Resolutions (just dumping out thoughts from my brain lol)
I want to try and make more comics in more of a traditional format instead of the no borders “4koma-esque” style I have been using. But every time I draw the outlines, I feel so confined to the square. It’s something I def need to improve on. (Hopefully).
Expanding more on Silver Void and my other jojo OCs is something I want to do. I mean I just keep making new characters or concepts and it gets eaten up by other things. I have way too many ideas and I tend to vomit them all at once. It’s quite the bad habit and I really want to focus on writing the stories I want to tell.
Draw hands better, it’s a half joke. I can draw hands and fingers well sometimes, but hand posing still needs work. At this point I’ve gone from lego to barbie hands, now I just need to get to ball jointed doll levels of movements with hands. I’ve tried looking at my own hands for these poses and references, but the depth is still kind of weird. I want to draw hands Yoshikage Kira would want to steal! XD
I hope you guys have a Happy New Year! Here’s to 2023. 🎊🎉🥂🍾🎇🎆

This is… Not at all what I thought I’d be typing out today, but this is more of like- Helping with writing characters who are just a little bit oblivious to being bullied/mistreated. I am one of those people who are SUPER oblivious to things like this (though not as much now.) Let’s begin with my own experiences first, shall we? We’ll start off with a few examples of what I went through. When I was in elementary school (specifically around second grade), there was one kid who would always mess with me and mess with my stuff, breaking all the crayons in my crayon box, and later going on to twist my fingers in ways that hurt. Nothing was really done about it and I never thought too much of it. Later on, I would go to experience the following from later grades and other people; Salt dumped in my hair, my arm twisted to the point I bled, getting kicked in the back of the head (singularly and one time only), and being teased in general (name-calling, insults, theft, so on). This all sounds like things I should’ve realized were bullying, right? Wrong! I was never taught these were wrong because the people who had done these things were never punished for what they did. I never saw them as wrong and always assumed that this was just how things were. So how do we write a character who is oblivious to torment from other people? 1.) Make them unsure if what’s happening is wrong. This is a big part that changes the perception of what’s being done to them. Whatever is going on, the person who is causing them this pain or discomfort should not be caught or punished. The attacker should frequently cause your character discomfort to the point they are under the belief that it is a normal occurrence. 2.) Have the character tell people about what happened as a (funny) story. Have them act like it was something silly that happened to them, or something they found super bizarre! They tell it like it’s a common occurrence or some kind of joke! When another character hears this information, let them be the one to open your character’s eyes and bring the realization that it isn’t okay that those things happened. 3.) They will be oblivious to most things. It shouldn’t just be the discomfort and pain that they’ll be oblivious to, but rather so many different things including how they feel in general. They might be able to describe their emotions in vivid detail, but they won’t be able to describe them correctly even when they do try to. 4.) Distrust for people. Whether it’s just simple anxiety that someone will do something like this to them again, or if it’s just a fear of people in general, they should be paranoid and unsure of other people’s intentions. 5.) Unknowingly blocking people off. They should, as in the title, unknowingly separate themself from other people. There may be a few people they are close to, but for the majority, they block themself off. 6.) Unknown paranoia. Going with number 4, they shouldn’t be very aware that they’re paranoid, even if someone proves it to them, or they might be completely aware they are paranoid, but under the belief that they are lying to themself to make themself feel more comfortable.
7.) Morally grey. This isn’t exactly a must, and honestly wholly depends on how extreme the events that occurred were. If they simply had their belongings stolen, they most likely won’t be exactly morally grey, but if they’ve been harmed severely or harassed/tormented mentally, then it’s a possibility. I struggle with my morals sometimes.
This is the most I can come up with regarding this. Again, this is just from my personal experiences and my own reflection of self. I don’t expect people to have it the same, or anywhere similar.

An AU I have just created.
Amy is insane and has to take shots regularly; Sonic is jaded, depressed, and alcoholic; Knuckles died after killing Eggman; Rouge went into a coma; Tails has brain damage and Sonic has to take care of him and Amy.
Sonic doesn’t believe the world needs heroes anymore and Amy does. She constantly tells him that she knows where Shadow went because he went missing and Sonic doesn’t believe her. He doesn’t believe in anything anymore.
A hopeless Sonic drinks all day and somehow keeps track of when Amy needs her shots and can take care of a mute, absent minded Tails. He is so tired.
—————
One day, Amy brought someone to the apartment after she escaped her room. She had him tied to a chair and had been interrogating him. Sonic walked into the kitchen and took a sip of alcohol before telling her it was time for her shots.
“Awe do I have to? I hate shots!”, she whined in an unsettling pitch.
“Yes, now put down the hammer and come here.”, he sighed.
“Okay!”, she chirped and skipped gleefully to him.
She got sleepy and he carried her to the couch to sleep on. He puts a blanket on her before going to the fridge to get a can of beer. He casually sips it as he looks at the guy tied to the chair.
Sonic didn’t think he’d see an old enemy with make up scribbled on his face by Amy. The guy had his mouth covered.
“Wow, funny seeing you here. I’m not going to help you, if messing with your heads going to keep her docile outside then I don’t care. Have fun being her new doll.”, Sonic walks a way to feed Tails.
Sonic opened a door that led to Tails room with crayon marks all over. In the middle of the floor, Tails stares at a butterfly he drew. Sonic places a plate of cut baby carrots, peas, peaches, cauliflower, and ranch.
“Eat up buddy”, Sonic sat with him.
Tails didn’t look at him or move. Sonic burped and took a spoon to feed Tails some peas. Tails turned his head. Sonic took a fork to give him a peach slice, Tails did not open his mouth.
Sonic took a baby carrot and dipped in ranch and Tails ate it.
“Come on buddy, you need to eat more than carrots.”, said Sonic.
Sonic stopped trying to feed Tails and drew a picture for him. He drew him, Amy, and Tails in the picture.
Sonic lift Tails up and put him into bed. He put up the guard rails to make sure he doesn’t get out.
Sonic drooped and went to the living room to put Amy in her room. It was padded and full of soft toys. Her room was a little ripped up and so were her dolls.
He chained her up and locked her door. He went over to the enemy and dragged him over to the closet. Sonic gave him a beer with a straw and placed it on a shelf. He locked the door.
——————
Days later, the enemy escaped and opened a time portal. Amy had a creepy smile and grabbed her backpack, Tails and leaped after him.
Sonic got emotional for the first time in a long time and ran after them.
A crazy Amy holding hands with Tails walks a round the past like it was a normal adventure. She’d show him places they use to go and tried to play on the wings with him.
Sonic hadn’t really been much of a runner and had a bit of a beer gut. He met with a past Tails and cried. Confused, Tails covers him with an umbrella- taking him home. Past Sonic didn’t not like what he looked like in the future and wanted to know why he got fat.
Future Sonic was just bawling his eyes out and apologizing to Knuckles. Eventually he told them what the future is like and what happened to everyone else.
“We need to find them, Amy needs her shots soon- she can’t take care of Tails the way she is now. That-that’s my fault too. Please help me.”, said future Sonic.
“Can you please take a shower first? Then we can go look for them.”, asked Past Sonic.
—————
Blah blah blah Future Amy toted future Tails in a pink wagon she found in the dump. Eggman and a robot showed up. She beat them up and scared them into running a way.
They were found by past Sonic team and future Sonic. Amy was given her shots. Tails as disturbed by Tails. Future Tails stared at Knuckles and took a picture out of Amy’s backpack.
Future Sonic was shocked that he was moving. Tails had drawn everyone else into the picture; knuckles, Rouge, Shadow, and Omega.
More crying, with a headache because future Sonic has had a drink since he came to the past.
Blah blah blah- you end it, bye!

“So, what do you do for a living?”
Kayla sighed internally at the question and took a sip of her Pinot Grigio. She hated first dates with a burning passion, but unfortunately, that was the only way to find a man around here. She went through the motions of politely answering his questions, barely asking any of her own. She didn’t care. Even just fifteen minutes in, Kayla could tell he didn’t excite her, and she lamented the waste of a good outfit as she listened to him drone on about his life. Every now and then, he’d stop and ask a question about her, but she could tell he was only asking so he could talk more about himself.
How many siblings do you have?
What’s your sign?
Why did your last relationship end?
Her mind traveled to her ex-boyfriend, Erik Stevens. They had spent six blissful years together, and Kayla thought he was the one. She wanted them to get married and start a family, and she thought he did, too, but every time she brought it up, he’d find some excuse to change the subject. At thirty years old, Kayla wasn’t getting any younger, so she grew tired of his avoidance and eventually cut him loose. She needed more out of life, but the guy currently sitting across from her certainly wasn’t it.
“We wanted different things,” she answered vaguely and took another sip. It would be a long night with what’s-his-name. David? Devon? Whatever. At least he had money and took her to a nice restaurant.
Darryl took the opportunity to bore her with the details of his job, which Kayla already knew. He was a colleague of her best friend, Carina’s husband. They worked at the same law firm, and Carina decided to hook them up after tiring of hearing Kayla complain about dating apps. As much as Kayla hated Tinder, she would’ve much rather been at home on her couch swiping left on the cesspool of single men Oakland had to offer. Every few dozen swipes or so, she’d find a cutie, but his bio would be abysmal, or his conversation skills would fall flat.
Despite the fact that their relationship just couldn’t make it, Kayla still thought of Erik as the gold standard. Just thinking about his dimples and his struggle beard made her smile dreamily. His big, strong arms would wrap around her and hold her tight at night, and she’d trace her fingers over the intentionally placed keloid scars that held his darkest secrets. She missed retwisting his locs and the way he always smelled like sandalwood and warm vanilla. Kayla didn’t want to admit it, but she still loved him. No man could compare to her Erik.
“Hello? Kayla?”
“Huh? Oh, sorry. Can you repeat that last part?”
“Uh, yeah, sure. What’s got you so distracted, babygirl?”
Kayla fought the bile rising in her throat. She wasn’t his babygirl. It didn’t even sound right coming from his mouth. Maybe it was the thinness of his lips. They weren’t “white man” thin, but they couldn’t hold a candle to the juicy pussy pleasers she had grown accustomed to.
“Nothing, just thought I saw somebody I know. You were saying?”
“Just that you look beautiful tonight,” Damon attempted to flirt with her.
Kayla wanted to roll her eyes but thanked him instead and smiled politely again. Of course she looked beautiful; she had pulled out all the stops for what she had hoped would be a good night out. Kayla had squeezed her thickness into a lavender satin dress. The way the dress’s skirt cinched on the side kept it snug around her plush waist, but the high slit that traveled up her thigh was the main attraction. The strappy silver heels on her feet showed off her matching pedicure that contrasted beautifully with her glistening brown skin, and her makeup was flawless. Her outerwear for the night, a cropped fur jacket that had found its way to the coat check when they arrived, was the icing on the cake. Her outfit deserved the appreciation, just not from Deshawn.
The waiter saved her from having to focus on her date when she brought out the food they had ordered. Since Kayla knew Derek had money, she had ordered the whole lobster, and she fought her mouth from drooling too much as the waiter set it down in front of her. It laid on a bed of forbidden rice, and the side of roasted brussels sprouts and cremini mushrooms looked heavenly. The ramekin of drawn butter off to the side tempted her as it sat next to the minuscule seafood fork. She may not enjoy her company for the evening, but Kayla damn sure was going to enjoy her meal.
“Looks good,” Dominic called from the other side of the table, breaking Kayla from her trance as he cut into his wagyu beef.
“Sure does.” Kayla wasted no time before digging into her meal. Not only was it the perfect excuse to avoid conversation, but it was perfect, period.
A slight chill permeated the air as the door swung open and the crisp January air entered the small restaurant. Kayla shivered as she complained internally about being forced to sit near the door, but that shiver intensified as she heard a voice. His voice.
“Reservation for Stevens, please.”
Kayla stilled.
“Of course. Right this way, sir,” the maitre d’ responded, and Kayla heard three sets of footsteps coming her way.
--------
“Babe, let’s go!”
“Yell at me one more time, woman,” Erik warned as he came around the corner into the living room, fastening his watch.
“I swear, you take more time getting ready than I do.”
“Whatever, Mo. You ready?”
“Nigga, I been ready!”
Erik rolled his eyes and grabbed his keys. It would be a rough night, and things were already starting off on a bad foot. He and Monique had been seeing each other for the better part of a year, and he’d finally reached his limit. She was overbearing, rude, and just after him for his money, but he hated being alone, so he put up with her bullshit. His cousin, T’Challa, had tried to hook him up with a few ladies back in Wakanda when he went to visit after his breakup, but nothing stuck. Almost immediately after coming back to the states, Erik met Monique at a charity event for the Outreach Center. She had the singing voice of an angel and had been booked as the entertainment for the evening. Erik was drawn to her like a sailor to a siren, and she immediately sank her teeth into him. Past her vocal talents, Monique wasn’t really anything special. Her personality left a lot to be desired, she wasn’t the sharpest crayon in the box, and she just wasn’t her.
The moment Kayla ended their relationship a year ago, Erik’s whole world shattered. He had lived a life full of pain and loss, but Kayla had been his lifeline. She pulled him out of the dark and made him revel in the sunshine. Hell, she was the sunshine, but now he had settled for a UV lamp at best. Kayla had wanted a life that Erik was too scared to give her, but that fear became his downfall. He still missed her most nights. He was lonely, and Monique was there to keep him company, but that wasn’t enough for him anymore. Erik craved a connection that Monique just couldn’t provide. So he decided he had to break it off and figured that doing so in a public place would probably be best. She had a tendency to throw things when she got angry.
The car ride to Chez Martine was tense. Monique had been angry all day because Erik had taken back his credit card even though she wanted to buy a new dress for their date. Her lousy mood almost made him dump her back at his condo, but Erik kept a cool head and stayed focused on the plan. He ignored the way Monique complained the entire time she got ready, reluctantly putting on a dress he had seen her wear before. It didn’t matter to him; he knew what the night held.
When they walked into the restaurant, Erik’s heart dropped into his stomach. He’d recognize that shoulder blade tattoo anywhere. She had cut off all her hair and lost a few pounds, but he knew for sure that he was looking at Kayla. His Kayla. He forced himself to look straight ahead as they passed her table and prayed that the maitre d’ didn’t sit them where she could see him. Unfortunately, he had no such luck because the only open table for two was directly within her line of sight. He prayed again that Monique would sit on the far side of the table, but Bast ignored his pleas once more. He had to sit facing her, and as soon as he got comfortable in his chair, her gaze slyly trailed over to him. They locked eyes across the room, and Erik’s heart stopped. She was just as beautiful as the last time he saw her all those months ago, but who the fuck was that sitting across from her?
“What are you looking at?” Monique’s abrasive voice cut through his eardrums.
“Nothing. Just thought I saw someone I know, that’s all.”
She cut her eyes at him and turned around to look as he buried his face in the menu.
“Quit being nosy,” he complained.
“I just wanna see who’s got your attention, that’s all.” Monique turned back around with a sour look on her face. “It’s probably that fat girl with her cleavage all out.”
“Mo, just look at the fucking menu and act like you got some sense.”
“Fine.”
Monique pouted until the waiter showed up, but she plastered a fake smile on her face as he took their order. As usual, she ordered the most expensive thing on the menu, and it bothered him to no end that she was hellbent on spending all of his money. Of course, he had plenty, but she felt entitled to it. Kayla never cared about him being rich. Hell, when they got together, she didn’t even know he was a prince, but he loved to spoil her nonetheless. He loved the look on her face when he’d buy her things or take her on the expensive trips that she more than deserved. Kayla appreciated everything he did for her with all her heart, but she’d say the same thing every time.
“Thank you, baby, but you’re all I need.”
Erik smiled fondly at the memory of when he bought her a diamond tennis bracelet from Wakanda for their second anniversary. She was so excited to have diamonds that weren’t marred by exploited labor that she damn near dropped the box when she saw what was inside. It had been a rough year for them, what with him disappearing for a couple of months to seize the Wakandan throne and all. She certainly had plenty of colorful words for him when he came back. He’ll never forget the look on her face when he showed up at her door. He had brought T’Challa for backup just in case, but she looked right past the king as tears welled up in her eyes at seeing her Erik, alive and well.
Erik’s eyes started to get misty as he thought about the way she kissed him with so much emotion...then slapped him across the face for leaving. His gaze wandered back over to Kayla and he noticed the light bounce off of something on her arm. She was wearing the bracelet.
As if she felt his glare, Kayla shifted uncomfortably in her seat, so he averted his eyes back to Monique, who had caught him staring again.
“Why don’t you go say hi?” she asked sarcastically, making him roll his eyes so hard they almost got stuck.
--------
Erik Stevens. Here, of all places. He just had to be here.
Kayla noticed that he didn’t seem to be enjoying his modelesque date’s company any more than she was enjoying Darwin’s, and the pang of jealousy she felt at seeing him with another woman went away. She knew she had no right to feel any kind of way about it, especially since she was the one that broke things off. That didn’t make it any easier, though.
Dylan was too wrapped up in his steak to notice her wandering eye, but it seemed that Erik’s food was as uninteresting as the woman across from him. Kayla watched as he half-heartedly pushed it around his plate, but he certainly kept his favorite whiskey coming. She wanted to chuckle but didn’t want Daniel to think he had anything to do with her levity. They were both drowning their dissatisfactions in their alcohols of choice, and Kayla got a phantom taste of Uncle Nearest 1856 on her lips as she watched him take a sip. When he set the glass down and licked his lips, Kayla felt flush. She missed those lips…
“So, how about dessert?” Damien asked as he leaned back in his chair and rubbed his stomach. “I hear their creme brulee is amazing.”
“Uh, sure, why not?”
“You know,” he began as he leaned in and reached for her hands. She allowed him to take them, but the softness of his hands disgusted her. No callouses, no roughness, not even a firm grip. “I’ve had a great night. I’d love to see you again.”
Kayla chuckled nervously, unsure of how to proceed.
“What are you doing next-”
“Are you fucking kidding me?!”
A shrill voice pierced the air as Erik’s date bolted up from her seat. Desmond, and the whole restaurant, turned around to see what was going on, and Kayla took the opportunity to remove her hands from his.
“Keep your voice down,” Erik sneered through his teeth. “We’re in public.”
“So?! You bring me out here just to dump me? To dump this?!” she gestured at her slim figure, and he rolled his eyes.
“You ain’t even all that,” he waved her off. He was tired of playing nice, and Kayla could see the exasperation written all over his face.
“Excuse me, miss-” the waiter attempted to calm her down, but the crazed woman cut him off.
“Stay out of this!”
“I’m so sorry,” Erik mouthed to the poor man who would absolutely be getting a monstrous tip later.
“Oh, you’re sorry for him, but not for me?”
“Mo, just sit down. We can finish our meal like adults-”
“Fuck you, Erik.” She threw her dirty martini at him, soaking the front of his all-black ensemble.
Kayla could damn near see the steam coming out of his ears as his apparent ex stormed out of the restaurant. Erik locked eyes with her across the room, and when he saw the concern written all over her face, his softened.
“Whew, poor fella,” Dexter commented as he turned back around. “Where was I? Oh-”
“Excuse me, where’s your restroom?” Kayla interrupted him as their waiter walked by.
“Right down there.” She pointed at a set of stairs off to the side, and Kayla thanked her as she slid out of her seat.
“I’ll be back, Darius.”
“It’s Denzel.” He deflated.
“Fuck,” she froze. She had been sure it was Darius. “Still, I’ll be back.”
“I’ll be here,” he responded, obviously upset by her slip-up.
Kayla hurried off down the stairs and leaned against the wall as she waited for either of the single-use restrooms to open up. She took a deep breath and opened her clutch, reaching in to pull out her phone with a shaky hand and typing in his number. It was one of the few she had memorized, just in case.
“You ok?”
Her thumb hovered over the send button, but she couldn’t press it. Her heart nearly thumped out of her chest at the thought of starting a conversation with him, but something within her said that she should. It would be weird not to say anything after all that, right?
“Hey-”
“Shit!” Kayla dropped her phone when his silky baritone graced her ears.
“My fault, ma.” Erik leaned over and picked the phone off the floor, checking it for cracks. He saw she had typed a message out to him and smirked before handing it back to her.
“T-thanks.”
“No problem. And, yeah, I’m ok.”
“Huh?”
Erik pointed at her phone screen.
“Oh! Right. Um, well, that’s good to hear.” Kayla attempted to push her hair behind her ear out of habit, forgetting she had just cut it all off a week ago.
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“You ok? You don’t seem to into ole dude out there.”
Kayla sighed and rolled her eyes, “Oh, him.”
“Damn, it’s like that?” Erik laughed, and she slapped his arm. That slight contact was enough to spark a flame in them both, and Erik’s face turned serious. “For real, though, not going well?”
“Better than you, it seems,” she quipped as she eyed his wet shirt. That was a bad idea because his first three buttons were undone, and she caught a peek of the raised scars that she missed so much. And that broad chest, and the chain with his father’s ring that he always wore. He’d let her wear it from time to time, and she always felt like it was such an honor. He trusted her enough to let her wear it. He loved her enough to-
Kayla pried her eyes away and made yet another mistake: she looked up at him. Those eyes still looked like sweet, sweet molasses, and even though his locs were braided back, she could tell he was letting them grow out. She momentarily wondered who was retwisting them nowadays, but her train of thought was cut short by the scent of sandalwood and vanilla. Kayla’s mind went blank as she inhaled slowly.
“Heh, yeah. That was...that was pretty embarrassing. Not even gonna lie.” Erik looked away shyly, unable to hold her gaze.
“I guess you’ll need to find a new date spot, huh?”
“Nah, I think I’m good on dating for a while.”
“Same,” Kayla sighed. “Dating sucks.”
“Yeah…”
One of the bathroom doors unlocked, and a middle-aged white man stepped out and passed them on the way up the stairs.
“Well, I should-”
“Yeah, go ahead.”
Kayla walked towards the bathroom, but before she could reach the door, she felt a light tug on her wrist. His touch still gave her goosebumps, and he noticed her raised skin as she turned to face him.
“I just, uh...it was nice seeing you, Kay-kay.” Erik smiled at her, and she nearly melted. She missed when he called her that, too. “You look good.”
“Thanks, E.” She smiled back. “So do you.”
He let her go, and Kayla disappeared into the bathroom. When she closed the door behind her, she took a deep breath to center herself. After all these months, Erik still took her breath away. He clouded her senses and scrambled her mind. Even as she took care of business, her brain replayed their short interaction on a loop.
Kayla locked eyes with her reflection as she dried her hands. How could she go back up there to- what’s his name? Oh, yeah, Da- Denzel. That’s it, Denzel. How could she go back up there to his mediocre company when the man she still loved had made her feel so alive with just one touch. That was the magic of Erik, his magnetism. When they were together, she couldn’t help but be drawn to him, even when she wanted to slap him across his beautiful face. Those were some of the best times, though. If she was angry at him, he knew exactly what to do to calm her down. To put her in her place. To remind her-
Kayla’s daydreaming was cut short by a knock at the door.
“Occupied!”
It came again.
“I’ll be out in a minute!”
She reached for another paper towel to dab off the sweat that had started to pool on her skin at the thought of Erik’s dominance when the door opened.
“What the f- Erik?!”
He pushed inside the bathroom and locked the door behind him.
“You need to start locking doors, Kay.”
“I- what do you want?”
“I want to talk to you,” he spoke as he moved closer to her.
“Here?!”
“Yeah, here,” he chuckled.
Kayla rolled her eyes and tried to push past him.
“Now is not the time or place-”
“When is?” he blocked her exit, and she crossed her arms in defeat, looking up at him through her lashes as she leaned against the sink. “Look, I just need to say something real quick.”
“Fine,” Kayla sighed and gestured for him to continue. She knew there was no use fighting him. She wasn’t leaving that bathroom until he was good and ready.
“Kay,” his voice softened, and she looked away only to have her face pulled back in his direction. “Kay-kay, look at me.”
She made the mistake of doing just that, getting lost in his eyes again.
“I miss you,” Erik murmured.
“Erik-”
“Look, I know, ok? I know. And I’m sorry, Kay. I really am- no, look at me. I’m sorry I wasn’t enough for you...but I miss you, girl.”
Kayla’s eyes welled up with tears that she tried her hardest to blink away, but one had the nerve to fall. Erik wiped it away, and the next one, and the next one. A sob wracked Kayla’s body, and he wrapped his arms around her body.
“Don’t cry, babygirl. I know you worked hard on your makeup.”
Kayla laughed through her tears, but the emotions washed back over her, and she buried her face into his chest. It was already soaked with gin, so what harm would a few tears do?
He held her and rocked her softly from side to side as she cried, and after a couple of minutes, she found the will to look up at him again. His cheeks were wet, so she reached up and swiped her thumbs over them as she held his face in her small hands. He nuzzled into them and kissed her wrists.
“I miss you, too, E,” she croaked.
“I know, babygirl.”
He leaned in to kiss her forehead, and she closed her eyes as his soft lips caressed her skin. They stayed intertwined for who knows how long until Erik felt Kayla begin to pull back. He looked down at her, and the two of them locked eyes. Before they knew it, their lips had met in the middle in a passionate embrace. They got lost in each other for a moment until common sense returned to Kayla, and she pushed him off.
“We can’t-”
“Why not?”
“Because…”
“Because what, Kay?” Erik’s voice rumbled as he closed what little gap was between their bodies. He left soft kisses on her temples before working down to her cheeks, then her jawline, and eventually the column of her neck. She let out a soft whimper when his teeth grazed the crook of her neck but pushed him back again before he could continue any further.
“Erik, I...I still love you, and-”
He attacked her lips with his, hands feverishly gripping her waist as he pushed her further into the sink. She had nowhere to go, and she was ok with that.
“I...love you...too...babygirl,” he whispered between kisses.
Kayla’s mind went blank as he lifted her up on the counter and pressed himself between her legs. She could feel him, all of him, and damn did she miss that monster between his legs.
“Erik,” she moaned as he nipped at her earlobe. He still knew how to play her body like a violin.
“Mmm, say it again.”
“Erik!” she squeaked as she felt his strong hands grip her thighs.
“Just like that,” he groaned, and she flooded her already wet panties.
“Baby-”
He connected his forehead to hers and stared deep into her eyes. “You miss me?”
“Mhm,” Kayla nodded with her lip between her teeth.
“I miss you, too, baby. I think about you all the time. Every day,” he pecked her lips, “every night. I miss everything about you, Kay-kay. Your off-key singing, your horrible cooking-”
“Shut up,” Kayla giggled as his hands traveled up her dress.
“Your body…fuck I miss this body. I miss how you smell, how you taste...how that tight little pussy feels wrapped around my dick.”
Kayla widened her legs for him as his fingers found their way to the seat of her panties, stroking up and down her slit. Erik kissed his way back down her face and over to her ear, his warm breath sending chills down her spine.
“Do you think about me when you touch yourself? Because I do. You’re all I see when I stroke my dick...wishing it was your hand...your lips...this fucking pussy.”
Erik pushed her panties to the side, and his nimble fingers circled her clit. Kayla let out a small moan that was music to his ears, making fingers move faster and her breath grow shallower with each rotation.
“Answer me.”
“Mhm.”
“Come on, babygirl, you can do better than that. You think about me when you play in your pussy? This pussy right here?” he asked as he slapped her vulva, her wetness sticking to his hand.
“Y-yes, baby-”
“Uh-uh, you know who I am. Say it,” Erik commanded as he snuck three fingers inside her wetness, making her moan loudly in his ear. “Shhh, you gotta be quiet, babygirl. You don’t want people out there knowing how much of a slut you are, right?”
Kayla shook her head no.
“That’s what I thought. Now, I asked you a question, Kayla,” he reminded her. His gruff voice made her weak, and the fingers that were steadily speeding up inside her certainly didn’t help. “Answer me. Who am I, babygirl?”
Kayla tried to hold out as much as she could. She didn’t want to say it, too proud to give in, but the way he was currently stretching out her pussy and curling his fingers inside her made her cling to his shoulders. The bastard knew what he was doing, and she didn’t want to let him win. But then, he played dirty and bit down on her neck. She cried out, and when he pulled back to look at her, the ferocity in his eyes drove her up the wall.
“I said, who the fuck am I, Kayla?” Erik growled. His hand sped up, making her weak with every thrust. She couldn’t hold it anymore and came undone around him, her mouth betraying her as his name fell from her lips.
“Daddy!” she gasped as her pussy spasmed, and he chuckled darkly.
“Damn right I am,” he kissed her lips, “now gimme that pussy. Daddy missed his pussy.”
Kayla heard a rip and felt the cool air between her legs as he tore through her panties to get to her treasure trove. She reached down between them and grabbed his clothed erection in her hand, making him groan as he bit down on his luscious bottom lip. She undid his belt buckle and slowly unzipped his pants before reaching in and pulling out his throbbing dick.
The longing in her eyes told him everything he needed to know, so he pushed her legs back and tapped his head on her clit.
“You want daddy’s dick in you?”
“Mhm,” she whimpered.
“Good.”
He pushed in and groaned at the feeling of her pussy walls gripping him as he sheathed himself inside her.
“Fuck, you feel like home.”
Kayla moaned into his neck in response and wound her hips against him, meeting him thrust for thrust as he stroked into her slow and deep. She couldn’t form words. He felt so damn good inside her that Kayla’s brain had short-circuited. Erik’s dick hit spots that she could never find herself no matter how hard she tried. Even in her dreams, he drove her body wild. She had spent the last year trying to find somebody, anybody who could make her feel that way, but nobody could compare to Erik Stevens.
Erik and Kayla panted heavily into each others’ mouths as he made love to her body, and as soon as Kayla started to tense up, his thrusts grew harder.
“I-I-”
“I know, babygirl. Daddy feels it,” he groaned as he nipped at her bottom lip. “Cum on my dick like a good girl.”
His words sent Kayla into overdrive, and her body shook as she spilled over him. Her spasming walls hugged him tight, and she wrapped her legs around his waist, begging him with her eyes.
“You feel amazing,” she moaned.
“Mhm. I know them other niggas wasn’t hitting it like this. I just know it. Look at you, cumming all over daddy’s dick. Look at it!” He grabbed her chin and made her look down at her throbbing pussy as his dick slid in and out of her.
“We look so good, daddy!”
Erik slammed into her, and she bit into his shoulder to keep from screaming. He gave her his all over and over, rocking the countertop in the process.
“We’ll look even better if you let me cum in this pussy. Mix my cum with yours-”
“Yes!”
“Yes?” He chuckled. “You want it that bad, huh? Nasty ass, in here getting fucked while that bum ass nigga’s waiting for you upstairs.”
“Mmm, I want it.”
“Want what, babygirl?” Erik teased as he brought his thumb to her clit, strumming it slowly as he thrust into her.
“You. I want you to cum deep in me.”
“Shit,” Erik groaned. “You want it deep in there?”
“Mhm. Put it where it belongs, daddy.” Kayla licked up the side of his neck, making his knees buckle. “Cum in your pussy.”
Erik lost all sense of control and pounded into her tight pussy, somehow getting even deeper in preparation for his release. Kayla held on tight as she felt him begin to spasm inside her, and she released around him again as his deep moans tickled her ear. Erik thrust extra deep and held his dick in place as he emptied his balls into her warmth, whimpering lightly as she rubbed his back to soothe him and bring him back down.
“I missed you, babygirl.”
“I missed you, too, daddy.”
They stayed like that, wrapped up in each other until their breathing slowed. Erik was the first to move, slowly pulling himself out of Kayla as she whined at the loss of contact. He kissed all over her face before planting a slow, sweet kiss on her lips.
“I can’t let you go again, Kay-kay,” his voice cracked as tears threatened to fall from his eyes again.
Kayla pulled him back in and kissed him so deeply that she nearly lost herself in him again, but he pulled away and looked her in her eyes.
“I’m serious, girl. I’ll do anything. I’ll marry you, give you as many big-headed babies as you want. Just, please, Kay-” she cut him off with another kiss to shut him up.
“We should go back to my place and talk,” she whispered, and Erik’s face lit up. Something about the way she said it, the way she kissed him, the way her body still responded to his...it gave him hope. Kayla smiled at him and pecked his lips once more before hopping off of the sink. He had to catch her because her legs were wobbly, and she stumbled a little in her heels.
“You aight?” he laughed.
“No, nigga,” she slapped his chest, and the two of them got caught in a laughing fit. They had really just fucked in the bathroom at Chez Martine. Kayla was on cloud nine until a thought occurred to her, and her face fell flat. “Oh, shit.”
“What?” Erik’s face turned serious, and his eyes scanned over her body, looking for whatever the problem was.
Kayla started giggling again, and he looked confused.
“What is it?” he asked, barely able to keep a straight face. Her laugh was always so infectious…
“Demetrius.”
“Who?!”
“My date.”
“Girl, don’t worry about him. He probably thinks you dipped out anyway.”
Kayla shrugged and fixed her dress as Erik stuffed his shirt back in his pants. They checked their reflections in the mirror, and Kayla was pleasantly surprised that her makeup was still intact thanks to that setting spray she had splurged on the other day.
“Ready?” Erik asked as he admired her beauty. Kayla nodded, and he unlocked the door, opening it to find Duncan leaning against the wall with a sour look on his face. Kayla’s eyes blew wide as she tried to figure out what to say to her date for the evening.
“Heyyy, um…”
“Denzel,” he seethed.
“Yeah, sorry. So, um, we’re-”
“Sorry, bruh,” Erik clapped him on the shoulder, “but we heading out. Bathroom’s all yours, though.”
Erik pulled Kayla along, and she sent Deion an apologetic glance before following Erik up the stairs. It seemed the whole restaurant knew what had occurred, but neither one of them cared. They were just happy to be around each other again. It had been entirely too long.

DON’T REPOST MY WORK
You were a bright child.
Beaming bright enough to keep a tight lipped smile during flu-shots, and enough to put on a happy façade when your dad threw away the drawing you had done of your family dog, rather than hang it up on the fridge.
Children have foolish dreams, and that was yours. Your friends in preschool boasted about their pictures being hung like trophies on fridges, with decorative magnets and even bigger pink bow ties.
The fridge in the Y/L/N manor was empty. Always empty, just how Ms. Y/L/N liked it. Empty marble floors with empty rug designs, and empty rooms with even emptier people living in it. They were both empty people. Hollow and void of any emotion, at least towards you.
You were different though. You were filled to the brim with ambition and hope and so many positive emotions that your parents never seemed to reflect on you. You were like those Disney princesses. The princesses always had hope, and when you have hope good things happen.
Right?
Your dad never meant to give you false hope. He just wished you’d keep your mouth shut as he worked until late hours. Using big words and having big aspirations, you shouldn’t have.
Mr and Mrs Y/L/N weren't bad people per say, just busy. They didn't know how to raise a child, this was obvious, because the purpose of even having a child was to fix their marriage. But a temporary fix wouldn't do it, it never did. There was always that hole on the roof, leaking rain of despair into their falsely built home that no bucket big enough could hold back. Because it always found a way to overflow.
They didn't know how to show their love, so they did it with money, clothes, toys and crayons that you would later use to draw pictures of your family, only to have them end up in the dumpster once again.
They spoiled you rotten, bought you gifts you never even dreamed of asking. You just shut up and enjoyed it, what else could you do? Whine and demand attention? Risk losing their favor? There was no favor to lose.
You got yourself a fat A plus on your third grade math test. Star stickers on your chest, you entered through the glass double doors of your house with a crooked smile - two front teeth missing of course - making your joy all the more endearing. Your backpack strapped tightly over your narrow shoulders, hanging low with all the crammed books you pushed before leaving school because you were just so excited to show your parents.
You received a big sloppy kiss from your Nanny, who practically was like a second mom to you, and dashed right into your fathers office to show him your new accomplishment.
"Good job, I'm proud of you."
You froze. You found a way to actually get their attention. The attention you so craved, the recognition you would die for. This was revolutionary. Basically a new era for you.
Nanny made you a star shaped cake that night, and sat with you while gently stroking your hair and listening to you blabber about how easy the math questions were. It felt warm, motherly love. Even if it was false, it would never compare to the love of your own mother, a love you would never get.
You spent all your night studying, your eyes burning under the harsh light of your lamp in the early mornings and your pencil, ebbing away over sheets and sheets of blank paper. Writing away your little hands off until they ached, just to snatch another A and get a good job.
This was good, it worked out very well. You became that student who looked forward to class, just to get a good grade and have the validation of your parents. The sight of your father’s lips quirk up even in the slightest, and how your mother’s eyes shone briefly in appreciation of your hard work, even if it was for a quick second, it was worth it.
Until the new neighbors moved in.
Mr. Burke was a round, cheerful man with an even rounder belly, and a big fat pipe that always hung on his lips. Mrs Burke looked and acted like those fairy godmothers you adored. You couldn’t believe such people existed. Mr Y/L/N invited them over for dinner, for courtesy. He was not happy about said courtesy.
He ended up liking the couple, they had a little daughter called Eva, who was small and adorable with round red cheeks and big doe eyes. Not only Mr and Mrs Burke, but the Y/L/N’s adored Eva as well. She was happy, always smiling, and her teeth weren't nearly as crooked as yours, not to mention she had pretty long hair like a princess.
You liked her a lot, took her to pick flowers, showed her the drawings you had prepared for the empty fridge; in case Mr Y/L/N ever had a change of heart and hung them up, you had been trying for three years and weren't giving up any sooner.
Eva was nice, kind enough to share her M&M's and very used to compliments unlike you. She seemed to get a lot from her parents and yours. The adults were so kind to her, always smothering her with love and kisses. You were happy for Eva, happy that Eva somehow managed to gain the favor of your parents before you did.
Little girls tended to be jealous, you weren’t. You were just glad to have a friend so cool, she didn't blush and stutter under praise and apparently her drawings were pretty enough to go on a fridge.
It was a Thursday afternoon when your mom smiled at you for the first time since your last exam grade. "Look, Eva drew us a picture, isn't it pretty?"
The crayola stash under your bed was no longer needed, they appeared clumsily dumped in the neighborhood trash the next day, most of them stomped under the pressure of your little sneakers. And the bundle of drawings you hid under your pillow, wishing on fairy godmother that one day they would be hung up too, were ripped; clearly a struggle given. You had paper cuts on your hands, and your Nanny thankfully applied ointment before Ms and Mr Y/L/N noticed, or rather, stopped to care.
Though you knew that even if you paraded herself with bloody fingers dripping to your elbows, they wouldn't care.
Nanny did, she was there. There when you were haunted with nightmares when the moon was particularly dark, cooing at you and letting you sleep next to her in that small bed of hers. There when you tripped and fell, small scratch resulting in a screaming tantrum. She was gentle, sweet, paid well.
You decided to go and pick flowers with Eva, and make a pretty flower crown for yourself, months after your drawing incident. Of course, you didn't have such silly dreams anymore. You didn’t wish to have your pictures hung, to have your mother wear the flower crowns you made and frankly you didn’t care for the sight of the sparkle in your parents eyes. Nanny’s was enough.
Eva agreed, dressed in a pink tutu Mrs Y/L/N gifted. You didn't comment, though deep down you gazed at the skirt in sparkling envy. Your mother never bothered to get you such pretty things. The two of you gathered saturated petals and nice ribbons while giggling amongst yourselves. Until, you accidentally caused Eva’s flowers to levitate.
Eva ran home, crying and calling you a witch. Mr and Mrs Y/L/N’s dirty looks made her feel shameful, and even dirtier when a letter addressed to her was dropped by a pretty owl you insisted on petting. It was from a school called Hogwarts, in the faraway land of London, and it seemed, not only you but Eva got the same letter the next day.
Though the Y/L/N’s and Burke’s were proud of Eva’s letter. They weren’t with yours.
— — — —
The ride to Hogwarts was interesting to say the least. You had so many questions unanswered, were you a fairy godmother too? Was that your destiny? Was that the reason you never got any attention, because you were destined to give instead of receive?
Eva was cheerful as always, making fast friends in newly bought uniforms and holding a pretty, long and thin wand, with designs flowing across the premise. Your wand was...functional. You were sad you couldn't choose, and that the wand chose the owner. It didn't make sense, what if you didn't want this wand? What if you wanted something charming like Eva’s? It should have been mutual.
It was while trying to find your way to the bathroom that you met the Weasley twins. Quite handsome, a year older and absolute fucktards. A word you learned from the two. Though you always found yourself laughing more at Fred’s jokes, you liked them both equally.
“Hey George! Look.” Fred had exclaimed, clinging onto his brothers shoulder and dragging him across. “Who's that girl?”
You introduced yourself, happy façade on, gentle words slipping out of your mouth like nectar. They had to like you, you told yourself. Just this once, more than Eva.
When sorted into Gryffindor, Eva, you and the twins became inseparable. Your group grew in second year, when Katie, Lee and Alicia Spinnet joined the bunch. You would make fun of the ghastly Potions Professor Snape, and imitate Dumbledore in the hallways to mess with the older students.
You loved your time at Hogwarts, and the adventures that came every year. Especially when Harry Potter joined.
“Hey Fred.”
Fred, who was fiddling with his bracelet you had bought him hummed in response, not bothering to look up.
You sighed, “Do you think the flowers can feel it when we pluck them?”
Fred turned at that, his bracelet was now tightly secure after his struggles. “I hope not.” he smiled, a faraway look on his face whenever he gazed at you. “You know, some people like pain.” he winked.
You merely looked at him confused, clearly way too young for...whatever that is.
He started laughing loudly, slapping his knee and causing you to scoff and slap him on the shoulder.
Third year was when it bloomed. The slight girly attention you gave Fred grew. Fred was...Fred. A handsome ginger, beater for their house's Quidditch team, always charming and charismatic that somehow oozed out of him whenever he did anything really. It was not unusual, every girl in school had a crush on him. That wasn't the case, Fred was one of your best friends, and you refused to entertain the idea of a possible...relationship.
Yet sometimes, you'd find yourself thinking about hugging and kissing Fred like you’d seen couples in your favorite movies did and you’d fall asleep with reddened cheeks and a boy with even redder hair in your mind.
But feelings couldn’t be controlled, nor easily hidden. Eva found out in your fourth year after hearing you mumble his name in your dreams. Fred Weasley was getting more handsome as years passed, and you found it hard to contain your feelings. You were crushing, hard.
Eva was...Eva about it. Happy, but nothing changed. She didn't tease like George did when he found out, nor did she act any differently towards Fred.
“Hey ____!” Fred had sat next to you, shaking the entire couch because he grew that tall during summer. “Got a new girl after me.” he looked at you, almost expectantly, as if you wouldn’t react the way you always reacted.
“That’s great Fred.” you smiled, gulping whatever lump that was forming in your throat and struggling to come out as vulgar words you wished to yell.
“Yeah,” Fred sighed, “It’s...great.”
Fred Weasley was a ladies man, and he wasn't afraid to show it. It was okay, because you were happy enough to be one of his closest, and that was enough. He often boasted about getting girls, and how successful his jokes were, and you always loved snapping back to him cockily, even more cockily than him. Playful banter was easy, comforting between them and when he turned away you would love to shyly entertain the idea of being one of those girl’s Fred talked about.
Fifth year, you had a sudden growth spurt. That was also the year where you discovered Cosmopolitan, Vogue and of course Witch Weekly. Hair no longer in a ponytail, legs shaved and smooth, short skirts with no nylons, you were a new person. After getting your period in third year, your spurt came late, but sudden. Way too sudden in the time of three months. It was hard to handle the changes occurring to your body. It was all too much that you had to become a lady and the fact that you didn’t have your mother to help was a pain you hid deep within.
It was as if whichever god above decided to squeeze your entire life into a summer and call it a day, because it was simply too busy. How ironic. No one saw your growth except old Nanny Gladys. Not Eva, nor her parents considering they went on a getaway and the Burke's, who had gone to Brazil.
But you were over that, you discovered the great telephone, and the great Hermione Granger, package deal with Ginny Weasley. You guys would talk on the phone for hours upon hours, Ginny obscuring your personality and Hermione altering your view on your parents. And Hermione was right, they were assholes. You didn't give a flying fuck about empty praises anymore.
You had become almost too tall for your older clothes, and your breasts were way too big to fit in the training bra you bought not even a month ago. Your hips, now wide and swaying as you walk became graceful, were decorated with long gem bracelets.
You cursed like a sailor that summer, ran around fields with family - your family being your dog, Jambo - bare feet. You stomped on flowers you used to pick as a little girl, stomping on those silly fairytale dreams you used to nurse, and never felt freer. For the first time ever you felt that maybe being empty could be more freeing than having false hope weighing you down.
Returning to Hogwarts was a big deal to students. Who changed, who glowed up after what happened last year - nothing, it was all childish drama.
Before your parents could even see your new self, your escapade to the Granger household was successful. The Y/L/N's didn't care, nor did they write. You knew it should’ve hurt, but frankly, you didn’t think having the pain in your chest was worth it. Hermione was awestruck, of course, after laying her sights on you for the first time since May and insisted on walking into the Entrance Hall, arm in arm with her and Ginny to show you off like some sort of revelation.
It was a revelation all right, at least to the boys, and some girls. It seemed no one saw you as a girl before. George oogled, and Lee was so shocked to find out that you were actually a girl with a pretty figure and an even prettier smile that he stopped clapping you on the back like he always did. Not a girl, you have become a woman. It was far too sudden, new uniforms and a whole new wardrobe had to be bought.
"____? You were a girl?" Fred joked, ruffling your hair like nothing changed between you. And that's when you realized, no slutty skirt, how much pushup your bra, or no matter how pretty your hair looked, Fred would always see you as ____, the girl with crooked front teeth and who once ate a worm in second year. Your teeth weren't crooked at all anymore - thanks to a few years of braces - and finally clear of uncomfortable metals but you felt as if Fred would always see the ghost of them on your pearly whites when you smiled.
He had this view of you that blinded him, caused him to treat you as he treated Ginny while he flirted and played footsie with other girls, including Eva.
That did not stop Eva from giving you false hope, and you took the bait, naive like always. Hope, that's what ruined it all. "You're beautiful now, of course you have a chance!" she said, rubbing your shoulder reassuringly, as if she had warmth to begin with.
It was all false, yet you still believed. You always had. Like a fool.
Ginny didn't like Eva, and maybe that's why you gravitated towards her. She was the first person who had ever met Eva that wasn't charmed by her kind smile and attractive words. Eva was...displeased. She grew up having the attention of everyone around, so when Ginny Weasley told her straight to her face that she wasn't shit, Eva seethed. The attention of Ginny changed nothing though, because Eva was the main character. Everyone - except Ginny, and secretly Hermione (though she would never say it) - loved her, they followed her around like puppies and praised her on her wonky wand work.
The upcoming Yule Ball brought great upswing to Hogwarts.
You were far too busy with her classes to take interest in the tournament - even though the dragon race was the gnarliest sight you had ever seen. Your goal was set, become a badass Auror and move out as soon as possible, so you didn't have to face your parents (except Holidays, yuck.)
But the Yule Ball was your chance. A chance with Fred Weasley.
You could ask to go as friends and maybe, just maybe a little hope and the night would end much more romantic than you had anticipated.
Plucking up courage was the hardest part, you practiced with your bathroom mirror so long that Ginny had to blast through the door and drag you out of her dormitory.
Fred Weasley agreed, why wouldn't he? You, his closest friend, asking to go as a group and drink all night while gossiping? It was a win win. At least that's what you told herself.
That was a lie, it wasn't a win win.
You gave it your all getting ready, dress silk, makeup and expensive shoes. You took a long shower, scrubbing and shaving yourself to a smooth gliding porcelain, only for it all to be washed down with reddened eyes and a boy with even redder hair.
Fred greeted you the same, danced the same, and you chatted the same; you were reminded again, for the second time, that you stood no chance.
Fred told you that he was going to get drinks, a quick trip to the booth and mumbled I'll be back in a second. He was not back in a second. Several minutes passed, and your worries caused your feet to follow after Fred's footsteps.
You ran, trying to find him in the empty corridors of Hogwarts, tears welling in your eyes because he wouldn't. He wasn't that cruel, life wasn't that cruel.
But it was, and in a distant empty classroom you saw Fred Weasley, on his knees and between Eva's legs, groaning and praising her like a starved man. Worshipping her like everyone else had, burying himself in her and completely forgetting the drink he’d bring back in just a second. He’d left you thirsty and alone in the Great Hall and left you to drink from a cup he hadn’t known to be forbidden. Yet Eva did.
Eva's perfect dainty hands tangled in his ginger hair, thighs clamping shut while her high pitched moans flooded your mind and echoed around your head. They were so loud that she couldn’t even hear the loud echoes of your footsteps and the woeful cries that left your lips as you ran. It wouldn’t be the first time she had ignored your pain for her own selfish reasons.
Your heart shattered, and suddenly you were six again, watching your parents praise Eva, hang her drawing on the fridge. A soft breeze tickling your bare toes, dangling from the small cushioned seat you sat on while you watched Eva braid Mrs Y/L/N’s hair. Emotionless, silent, not asking for anything, knowing that you won't receive in return. Eva's small hands carefully placed the flower crown on Mrs Y/L/N’s pool of hair, and she smiled, heart warming and hopeful. Suddenly you remembered the feel of your own hands tangling in between your locks as you stood on your tiptoes, trying to imitate your mothers braid on yourself in the mirror you couldn't reach. You pretended, only for a moment before it twisted into knots.
What a cruel joke, you thought as you watched Eva receive the world from Fred, from your parents, from your friends and from every damn person you had met.
You cried on a big set of stairs that night, your wails echoing as you asked whoever, whatever what you had done. What you had done to deserve such treatment from the people around you. It was rather cliche - and maybe a bit too dramatic. It was an uncomfortable seat of course, and your body, as well as your heart, ached. Pain, misery, false hope and enough hair spray to melt the ozone.
The princesses always cried on big sets of stairs, uncomfortable stone floors causing them to shiver while they hid away their beautifully animated faces in their perfect hands. This was different, there was no fairy godmother to fix your makeup and clone a gentlemanly Fred Weasley, a perfect prince. You knew, because you cried, and prayed and cried and prayed until your throat was sore. There was no fairy godmother, it was all a lie. There was no happy ending. There would be none.
No one came to find you that night either, and you had to drag yourself back to the Gryffindor common room, feet bare, mascara, blush - anything else you put on in hopes of being able to become like Eva even only for one night - practically nonexistent from the way your tears washed them away.
You didn't sleep that night, and your head was unusually clear, pounding, but clear. You laid awake, eyes blood-shot and stinging while your dress shuffled uncomfortably between your sheets. You were too tired to change, and your dress was far too pretty to be worn so short.
Ginny's words replayed over and over again. "They're not worth it." her voice was so clear, and true. Mr and Mrs Burke weren't worth it. Your parents weren't worth it. Fred Weasley wasn't worth it. Eva wasn't worth it. The midnight chirping of bugs invited themselves in from your open window, and blue moonlight streaks beaming down in lines from the tulle curtain flowed with breeze, it was calming.
You felt calm, for the first time in sixteen years. You felt calm.
Fred and Eva started dating that week. Everyone acted like they expected it, and you realized just how blind you had been. Eva Burke and Fred Weasley, golden couple of Hogwarts.
You watched them, emotionless, as they embraced with love and so much passion that you felt embarrassed. Embarrassed at how you’d blushed and squeal over Fred in front of Eva and George and anyone who had found out because now you knew. Now you knew that their amused smiles were probably pitying grimaces because they knew that you two were never meant to be. It was always Fred and Eva.
Fred was an amazing boyfriend, making sure Eva was taken care of, lovingly staring at her whenever and wherever, arm looped around her waist at all times; you realized they were truly not worth it.
"You disgust me."
You didn't mean the words to escape so carelessly, but when you said them, you realized you didn't want to take them back. The growing pit in your stomach felt weightless. "Excuse me?" said Fred, stopping his nibbling on Eva's neck, who was just as shocked. You scoffed, Eva already had enough purple bruises to parade around so why did Fred have the need to add more?
"You heard me right," George, Lee, Ron, Harry, Katie and whoever sitting in their circle stared at you, wide-eyed, Ginny and Hermione, however, were grinning devilishly. Kind ____, wouldn't hurt a fly, quiet at times and didn't know how to stand up for herself. It was shocking, but you were done pretending. You didn't want to be like that anymore, you wanted to say whatever came to mind and not worry about the consequences. "You guys disgust me, I know I should be supportive but you don't match, at all."
You turned to George. "And you, no you can't talk about Katie like that." George went pink. "You're disgusting for sleeping around carelessly and telling girls you'd write, stop giving people false hope. Grow up. You’re nearly an adult and you can’t even treat a girl right."
"And you Lee," Lee went quiet. "What gives you the right to make fun of me like that. I'll wear whatever the fuck I want, just because you don't have the courage to wear a headband. If you can talk about my breasts, I'll talk about your shrimp."
"Ron, you take advantage of Hermione then lead her on. Open your eyes, asshole."
"Harry, you're not the main character. You're not always going to be the center of attention, nor do you have the right to yell at your friends."
"Alicia, god you're so stupid. I'm sorry, you're great but such an airhead. No, you can't ride a Thestral if you can't see them, and stop eating quill ink they're bad for you."
You stood up, grinning proudly, heart loud in your chest you feared someone might hear. "Frankly, I don't wanna be friends anymore. I'm done with this façade, except you two, 'Gin, Hermione. The rest of you are just so fake." she gestured to them. "Boys," she nodded again. "Don't talk to me anymore, and Lee, give me back the money, think it's about time don't you think? I've been paying for you since third year."
And with that, you left. You left Three Broomsticks, grin wide and chest heaving. Hermione and Ginny ran behind, whooping and cheering you on as they laughed.
The news of your outburst spread fast like wildfire caught in wind. That week was bliss, you no longer had to watch Fred and Eva, nor did you have to act sweet to anyone. You didn't have to laugh along Lee's sexist jokes and look away to wince, it was pure bliss. You realized that the feeling of being free didn’t have to be momentary.
Pansy Parkinson was surprisingly a good friend, she didn't have the same fakeness to her, the one Eva had where her smile was too kind. She spoke her mind, though every Slytherin did, and you liked that. Ginny wasn't happy with your new found friends, but she couldn't separate you. You made your own decisions from now on. It was refreshing.
You told your new friends everything, eager to get it off your chest and breathe, and they listened. For the first time, someone listened. You didn't have to get good grades, nor did you have to act like a sweet angel.
You teared up the first time Pansy said; "It's not your fault,". You knew it wasn't your fault, but hearing someone else say it with such genuine eyes made you believe. Actually believe.
It started off with you watching from the sidelines as Draco and Blaise pranked, insulted and shamed whatever your old friend group did. It wasn't unusual for Draco to act this way, but he got especially irritated after hearing what you told them. Blaise, someone usually quiet, had stepped up and decided to somehow release the pent up anger he had for the Gryffindor students.
The year ended, and you had started to sneak in an insult or two towards Fred and Eva. It felt nice, like finally, step by step you were clearing your years of hidden jealousy. But, there was no one to tell you that this simply wasn't the right way.
That summer, you stayed at the Burrow. Ginny had invited you and you were quick to say yes; obviously a fact forgotten. Fred, George and whoever you had insulted last year stayed in the same house. You simply didn't want to go home, and if this meant seeing Fred Weasley then you had to endure it.
Molly Weasley was the sweetest person you could ever meet, and it was genuine. It felt genuine, you feared your teeth might rot if the woman got another word in. Molly greeted you as if you were her own daughter she hadn't seen in years. You felt valued, seen.
Until Eva was there, Fred invited her. You had to watch the only person you were able to love, introduce the only person he was able to love to his mother. It wasn't you. It would never be you.
And you realized, even after everything, Eva had once again found a way to be more loved than you.
The grin Molly broke out was nothing short of beautiful, and you couldn't help but smile as well. The smile wasn't directed towards you of course, and you sat on that small kitchen chair, celebrating a relationship that caused your ruin.
Eva didn't care that your friendship was over, nothing budged in her life. She still got the same attention, still received the same love from Fred. The same affection, the same attention and the same everything. Or so it seemed.
Though unlike Eva, Fred merely watched you with sad eyes.
You stayed clear of the couple and the rest. You hung out with Ginny and Hermione only, ignoring the dirty looks Ron and Harry gave you. The secret, whispered insults Eva threw your way. George didn't say anything, but he didn't object either. This was enough to show how he felt. At this point you really didn't care. Why would you, when they didn’t either?
You held your head high just like Ginny and Hermione told you to, and you spoke in a loud and clear tone whenever asked something. Eva didn't, she stuttered when you spoke to her directly. Her words scrambled against each other when she tried to voice her insults in louder statements than a whisper. For the first time, you felt relief. You felt intimidating, protected by the barriers you had built around yourself.
Longest day of summer hit, and it boiled. Tanning became a distant dream, you would bake in this weather, and you were thankful to the big AC box you had brought from home. You couldn't sleep that night, sweat beads falling down your forehead that was already covered in a thin sheen. You had decided to get a cold glass of water, not sure how you ended up face to face with Fred Weasley. His wand tip shone with blue light, and his freckles were much darker because of the sun. It seemed the sun decided to be cruel to Fred Weasley back and wash Fred over with it's deathly heat. He was sunburnt, this was an understatement. He was burnt.
You couldn't help but start laughing when you met, ignoring the proximity, ignoring the sleeping house, dead silent and a big leap from the lively Burrow, ignoring Fred's soft breaths he let out every other second. You couldn't live off on false hope anymore.
Suddenly it wasn't so funny anymore, and your face quickly fell. You took a big step back and inhaled, ready to ignore him like you had been doing for the past year. But Fred Weasley was a persistent man, and he gripped your arm and looked at you with determined, doe-like eyes. "Tell me what I did wrong." he said, adamant on fixing this, whatever this was. You both didn't know.
You stood silent.
"Please flower,"
"Don't call me that." you said, stern and gaze sharp. Fred didn't react, he kept on insisting.
"Please, tell me how to fix this. I can fix it," he pleaded, a plethora of empty promises fell out of his lips like nothing. He lied like it was nothing, he was oblivious to everything he and everyone around them had put you through. It was infuriating.
You didn't say anything. You knew he would not fix anything but maybe staying silent would give him the false hope that spinned mockingly in your head for the past eighteen years.
"I'm sorry, just please. I can fix this, I promise, don't be like that." empty tears fell down from his eyes. He looked empty, tired. They lacked the charm they usually shined with and you wondered if it was only you that caused such dullness. Eye bags prominent that you never noticed before. It all felt like a lie, a cruel joke.
Fred Weasley was simply a cruel joke. His presence could only be compared to a shot of whiskey, especially when you down it like how Hagrid nurses a Firewhiskey filled pint glass. You never know how it will hit you. But in the end, you'd always find yourself curled next to the toilet, crying your eyes out because your headache was simply too much.
He was sobbing now, hanging onto your waist like you would simply vanish and you let him. The grip he had on was like steel vice - almost concerning - but you didn't touch him, didn't say anything. You just let him be, like he did to you. Allowed him to hopelessly hang off you before you would eventually leave him alone, like he did to you. "Where did I go wrong? How could we end up like this? What went wrong?"
‘You’, but your voice couldn’t be found.
Questions were useless when the answer was already right in front of his eyes. You didn’t let a single tear fall, you wouldn't forgive yourself if you cried in front of him.
You blinked, and that night was over. Summer continued on like nothing happened, like it didn't leave you heart broken and in such shame yet again. You continued on ignoring Fred as he looked at you with sorrowful eyes. Looked at you more, with more than he did his own girlfriend.
You blinked and the school year started again with another terror looming around the corner. There was simply no need to keep up anymore, because school was easy. You attended classes, got good grades, a few scar here and there from Umbridge's torture chamber, a woman who stood at a whopping five foot three yet still teriffied an entire school.
You blinked and you had already become a proud member of Draco's insult the Gryffindor's club. You didn't even feel bad, being horrible to the people you hated for years felt like a breath of fresh air. You didn't go as far as physically hurting any of your old friends, but coming up with damaging insults was such fun. A lot more fun than sitting around with a fake smile.
You blinked, and you were already moving out from your childhood house. Mr and Mrs Y/L/N were unusually happy, this was a given. They would have a new empty room and make another office, like they didn't have enough already. You feared they would start getting rid of bathrooms once too into their work, and they would have to do their business in bushes or buckets. Scratch that, you didn't fear that, it would be fucking hilarious.
You blinked, and when had time passed too quickly? Where did all those empty childhood years had gone? You were already graduating, on your way to become an Auror. You had lost contact with all your old friends now, regretfully Ginny and Hermione too.
The war had hit too quickly, luckily you survived, so did your friends. Unluckily, it left you with a nasty scar right across your left brow. It looked sick, but the hit wasn't worth it. It hurt like a bitch. You could see, it was a close call but vision wasn't an issue. The trauma though, god did Bellatrix's breath smell bad.
When it was all over, you had seen Fred hugging his family tightly. It seemed the Weasley's all survived, and you gave them each tight lipped smiles while holding a bunched up rag to your head to stop the blood gushing out. This wasn't the reunion you wanted to have with Ginny, but hey, you take what you can get after a revolutionary Wizarding war you barely made out alive.
Before a franticly running Fred could reach you though, you apparated to your flat in Diagon Alley, ignoring the thrumming of your heart, and how you practiced in front of a mirror to congratulate their successful joke shop that morning.

Tumblr media
It had been a month and you'd been thinking about it. You knew you shouldn't have. That it did nothing to help you. That going over the events over and over in your mind would only bring back more pain. But, like a wound on the inside of your cheek, you couldn't help but touch it.
You were pouring your cup of coffee, thinking about the blood. The gore. The broken face and his final cry. You thought about what he'd been trying to tell you, what he'd been trying to get at. The wax bodies all over town. He'd mentioned your type, and, for a moment, you wondered if you really were just attracted to crazy. You shook your head. Vincent wasn't crazy. Bo on the other hand. Maybe. But Vincent was lucid. And he still did the thing he did. You bit the inside of your cheek. Okay, maybe your track record wasn't amazing. And maybe if you'd listened to him-
"Shit." You said, feeling the hot coffee touch your hand. Your thoughts had gone elsewhere for too long, to the point where you'd overfilled your cup until the coffee spread across the counter and down onto the floor. You were quick to grab some paper towels to clean up your mess, and Vincent was reaching over to help you. He quickly signed,
"You okay?" And you gave him a nod. It wasn't a lie. Physically, you hadn't been hurt more than a minor shock of the initial burn. Mentally, however? That was another story. You ended up dumping out a little bit of your cup, just so you wouldn't end up spilling it on your way down to the workshop.
You spent all of your time with Vincent. You went down to his workshop with him, carrying your coffee and your breakfast. You were going to spend some time reading, maybe take a nap, and try your best to hold onto your slipping sanity. Vincent, despite his hobby, was a big help. He understood that the whole event was traumatizing, and your hesitance to really leave the safety of the workshop. It was away from the rest of the world, perfectly hidden and the perfect place to recoup yourself. He would let you lay in his bed, reading, sleeping, or even prepping for some more lessons for the others.
But, after you finished eating, you couldn't find it in you to pick up the book you'd left on the side of Vincent's bed. You knew you could try your hand at drawing, as Vincent had offered to let you use any of his notebooks and had given you some of his own lessons. After a moment, you asked for some of his pencils and he was quick to offer you a variety of drawing tools. Charcoal, pencils, pens, markers. You almost wanted to ask if he had crayons. You chose a simple pencil, before you reached for one of his notebooks and began flipping through the pages. Vincent always let you use whatever you wanted. He had plenty of notebooks, plenty of tools. It was rare that he'd ever need all of them, and he always told you that it was all at your disposal.
So, you hadn't expected to find what you did. You knew that Vincent drew you. Hell, you'd posed for some of his drawings. But this was not the usual portraits you found. You flipped further, quickly figuring out that this notebook seemed to have one specific purpose. Part of you wanted to just tuck it away and pretend you never saw anything. And another part of you wanted to tease him ruthlessly for it.
Finally, you decided on the former. You tucked that particular notebook away, looking for a different one for you to begin sketching in. As much as you just wanted to draw whatever came to mind, you found the only thing that came to mind was Vincent.
You and Vincent had kissed and done some light touching, but your original path had been undoubtedly slowed by what happened with your ex. Vincent didn't want to push, you knew. So, the most you'd done was a few light kisses that you'd initiated, and it was always nothing more than something to relieve some of your stress or to bask in the comfort of the early morning. You were aware that Vincent was inexperienced, but it was almost reassuring to see that he did desire you. Even if he planned on keeping it to himself.
You stared at him for a moment. You watched the way his hands moved, how they moved with the utmost precision and certainty. How his movements were both gentle and sure, like a well oiled machine. The muscle you knew he possessed was covered by a sweater that hung off of him, and his long black hair was tied back at his neck. You wished for this morning to return, wished that you'd spent more time running your hands through it. Well, you knew you'd get to play with it when you settled for bed.
You drew him until Vincent was done with his pet project, a lamp for the upstairs bedroom. When Vincent came over to peek at what you'd been drawing, you thought you could see a crinkle in his eye and you watched the way he played with his hands. He was embarrassed, you could tell, and, after a moment, he signed,
"Me?" And you gave him a smile and a nod. He turned away, busying himself by fixing his ponytail. But you knew he was pleased. You smiled to yourself. Even if it wasn't as good as Vincent's, he still liked it. He grabbed the lamp, holding it with one arm. You were quick to say and sign,
"You're going upstairs?" And he gave you a nod. After a moment, he moved it in his arms to comfortably sign,
"You don't have to come." He said, and you bit your lip. You knew that he knew you liked to avoid the House of Wax as much as possible. After everything that happened there, he understood. You frowned. It had once been your favorite place in all of Ambrose. You glanced down the hallway. But you didn't really like being alone in the basement either. You sighed, deciding that you'd rather face your issues than stay alone in the basement.
"It's fine. I'll come." You said, and you pulled on your slippers and one of Vincent's sweaters over your pajamas. You couldn't ignore how Vincent seemed happy, even if he wouldn't say anything. He held out his hand for you, and you took it and gave it a squeeze.
He guided you through the underground tunnels, even if you'd been going through them long enough to know where to go. He walked up the steps, and you absentmindly reached out to touch the faces carved into the walls as Vincent walked in front of you. You were following him like a lost little puppy, your mind elsewhere as you tried not to let memories of what happened the month before flood your mind. Surprisingly, you were able to find a pretty good distraction.
You thought about the images that Vincent had drawn, all the positions he must've imagined. Even if he was inexperienced, he definitely had quite the imagination. As Vincent guided you and you trailed behind him silently, your mind flooding with different images of all the ways Vincent could take you. On your back, one your stomach, on your knees. You tried not to blush as you thought a particular angle that made it clear Vincent had been imagining something slightly more self serving.
It made it so you could completely ignore all the terrible reminders of what you'd done, up until you were in the wax bedroom Vincent had created. You glanced at the bed, immediately imagining Vincent in-between your legs. And then you in-between his . It was almost unfair. Vincent seemed to know about every little dip and curve you had, how he knew that you'd figure out another time, but you had barely seen anything. A couple of flashes here or there, but Vincent was shy. He kept his clothes on even when you did some experimental touching. You bit your lip, just before Vincent signed,
"You okay?"
***
Vincent knew this was a bad idea, but he didn't want to force you to stay in the basement. Any time you came up into the House of Wax usually didn't end well, and his nerves only grew as your silence stretched on.
He watched how you bit your lip, refused to meet his eyes. How you seemed far off and in your own head, millions of miles away from him and where you were. He thought the flush on your cheeks was just from the heat of wearing his sweater. Why would it be from anything else?
Even when you nodded and assured him that you were fine, Vincent didn't believe you. He knew this was a bad idea. He knew he should've just waited until you went to take a nap. Then, he could've slipped away and been back before you ever knew the wiser. Instead, he'd brought you here and now you were- His self deprecating paused as you reached a hand under his sweater.
His hand instantly went around your wrist, but he didn't pull it away. It was out of surprise more than anything, but his grip quickly relaxed. Still, his bigger hands circled your wrist as your hand moved. It was just the lightest of touches, your fingertips barely brushing against his skin. You were touching the flesh of his side, before your hand was sliding up and you were moving your palm across his abdomen. Feeling his happy trail, before teasing the edge of his sweatpants. He stared down at you, watching as you gazed up at him. You were still biting your lip, your cheeks were still flushed, but he finally noticed the way your pupils had blown out and- Oh . Vincent wasn't the most experienced. It's probably why it took him this long to figure out what you'd been thinking about. Or what he assumed you were. A quick thought told him he was being silly, that you couldn't possibly want that.
Even as you leaned up to nip and kiss at his collarbone, as your hands pushed his shirt up further and felt the expanse of his chest. Even as you leaned forward to suck a hickey into his chest, leaving him practically trembling. He didn't believe you could want him like that up until you whispered,
***
"Vincent, can I touch you?" You watched as a look of surprise was quick to flit through his eye. He gave you a nod, almost a jerk of his head compared to his usual slow movements. You gave him a grin, before you were sliding your hand under his pants. You'd never been so bold before with him, but you couldn't help it. You wanted to know. Wanted to feel the weight in your hand. On your tongue.
You barely had to brush your fingers against the front of his briefs before you could feel that he was half-hard already. A few more light brushes and he was straining against the material of his underwear. Vincent let out a soft noise, the sound of a puff of air hitting his mask. You had barely touched him, but he already looked half-wrecked. It occurred to you then that Vincent probably wouldn't last long, and it was strange to you. To hold power over someone.
You pushed his sweatpants down his narrow hips, sinking onto your knees in front of him. He practically jumped when he realized what you were doing, and you quickly asked,
"Is this alright?" But he was quick to nod. He leaned back, resting back on the dresser he'd made. He motioned for you to continue, and you smiled up to him as you leaned forward to nuzzle the crotch of his pants. Your nose bumped along his clothed cock, before you were giving it an experimental lick through the fabric of his underwear. You heard him sigh again, and you watched as he tightened his grip on the edge of the dresser. "You're so handsome, Vincent." You whispered the praise, kissing along the waistband before you were tugging his underwear down. You looked up, seeing that his flush was heading down his neck and towards the tips of his ears. Once again you asked, "You're okay, right? You'll tell me if you want me to stop?" He'd started to fist his sweater, to bring it up to hide his face. He gave you another quick nod and you pulled him free. You gave him a few experimental pumps, leaning in to lick along his shaft to lubricate your hand. You watched how Vincent shivered at the feeling of your wet appendage, and you had to bite back a satisfied grin. After that, you didn't waste any time wrapping your mouth around the head of his cock.
You sucked him off slowly, flattening your tongue against the underside as you bobbed your head half-way. He was big, as big as his height and the size of his hands may have suggested, and thick. Even if you were more experienced than him, you found it difficult to fit him completely down your throat.
His hands tugged and pulled at the fabric of his sweater before one of them was cupping the back of your neck. He tilted his hips forward, rocking his hips ever so slightly with every bob of your head. This was the most noise you ever heard Vincent make. He let out little groans and sounds, half-keened whines and breathless gasps. He shivered and trembled with every flick of your tongue. You held his hips, thumbing them as you stared up at him through your lashes. He was keeping his head tossed back, his eye firmly closed from what you could tell. But when he'd finally looked down at you and made eye contact with you, you practically felt his resolve snap.
His hand moved from your neck to the back of your head. He only pressed your head down farther for a few thrusts, ones that practically slid his cock all the way down your throat, before you felt him tense. He held your head, doubling over as he slid his cock down the back of your throat. You could feel his cum hitting the back of your throat, giving you no choice but to swallow around his cock. You could feel tears in the corners of your eyes, and you tried to blink them away as you focused on trying not to gag. He let out a strangled sound, no doubt feeling the muscles of your throat work around his cock. His hips stuttered, before he was pulling out with panting breaths. He leaned back against dresser, his head falling back and strands of his hair falling out from his ponytail from where he'd gripped at it. You almost wished you could take a picture.
You wiped your mouth with the back of your hand, watching him as he calmed himself down and you helped him tuck himself away. You lifted yourself to your feet with his help, and he signed a simple,
"You okay?" And you nearly laughed. Vincent seemed to ask you that at least five times a day.
"I'm fine. Are you okay?" You asked, prodding his chest. You heard him laugh, a soft and raspy sound. He gave you a nod, even if it still seemed like he was collecting himself. He reached out, running a hand through your hair before settling his palm against your cheek. His thumb brushed over your bottom lip, running over the sensitive skin. You hummed, parting your lips and sucking his thumb into your mouth. You barely realized what you were doing before you did it, but you gave his thumb a slow suck as you ran your tongue over it. You watched as his eye darkened once more, and you squeaked when he pulled his hand away and tugged you up like you didn't weigh a thing.
You squealed and laughed when your back hit the wax mattress, which, despite looking comfortable, was only slightly less forgiving than if he'd shoved you against the wall. But you barely had time to think about that. Vincent was quickly pushing his mask away from his face and you shut your eyes out of habit. You felt his lips clumsily press against yours, and his confidence was either from the month of practice or from the rage of desire that was flooding his system. He boxed you in with one arm, his other hand quick to trace all the parts he'd already memorized. You giggled. You couldn't help it. You'd never felt Vincent so eager, so confident . It sent the rush of a thrill through you, and you were wrapping your arms around his neck and pressing your chest against his to get him as close as possible.
"Touch me, touch me, touch me," You practically begged, your legs curling around his hips and drawing him closer. He groaned at the press of his front against yours, undeniably sensitive from before. He drew his lips from yours, mouthing down your cheek to your jaw until he reached your neck. His fingers weren't moving fast enough, and you pressed your chest against his hand to urge him further as he fondled you through your shirt. Even as he slipped his hand underneath, teasing and gently twisting your nipples, you knew it wouldn't be enough. You rolled your hips against his, trying to get any sort of friction as you tugged on his black strands of hair. He moaned against your skin, before his lips were attempting to clamp back onto yours. You begged for more, and Vincent wasn't one to keep you waiting. His hand rubbed you through the fabric of your bottoms, and he swallowed the moan that left your lips. He traced your heat through the fabric, pressing hard enough to feel his touch.
It wasn't enough until his hand was slipping inside, slipping past your panties and running his bare fingertips through the folds of your cunt. You whined, gripping his shoulders and bucking your hips against his hand. Vincent pulled away from the kiss, but you were too distracted to care as you guided his fingers over your aching clit.
***
Vincent was watching you, memorizing the expressions you made as you screwed your eyes closed and gasped. You gasped and whined, bucking and practically throbbing against his hand. When he dipped his fingers inside you, he found feel your walls sucking his fingers up. Trying to drag them deeper and swallow them in your warm, wet heat.
His cock was already heavy and hard in his sweatpants again, but he fought the urge to grind against your thigh as he fingered you. This was about you. He pressed the heel of his palm against the spot you'd lead him to, watching the way you shuddered and trembled underneath him. He drew everything in, only muffling your sounds when he needed your lips against his.
He kissed you anywhere his lips reached, trying to silently tell you how beautiful you were. How precious you looked. Everything that he couldn't sign to you with your eyes closed and one of his hands down your pants, his fingers buried and thrusting inside of you.
***
You whimpered as he pushed you further and further, your hips jerking as Vincent listened to every word you told him. He moved his fingers just so, seeming to even listen just to the way your voice would change. You'd been touched before, either by yourself or by your ex, but you couldn't remember a time you'd been listened to so eagerly before. Had someone that could reach the spots inside you that you couldn't.
"Right there, Vincent. Ah- Just like that." He rubbed that spot over and over until your hips were jerking. Whether to get closer or farther away you didn't know. But Vincent pulled back almost completely. You could feel his weight shift, and then you felt his other hand holding you down by pressing his large hand flat against your stomach. So you couldn't move and so you were forced to feel . "Oh, Vincent ." Your voice went up an octave. You tried to fist the sheets of the bed, but all you did was scrape your nails against the wax. You tried to move your hips, but you couldn't. You tried to shift away from the intensity of the pleasure, of how he'd shifted from using the heel of his palm and instead circled your clit with his thumb, but he was relentless. Persistent with his pleasure.
You felt close to tears, a stream of cries and praise leaving your lips before you could feel your thighs start to shake. Your abdomen start to tense. You reached to hold onto his forearm, your nails biting into his skin as the other gripped your own hair. You came around his fingers, a cry of his name leaving your lips as you arched your head back. He didn't stop, even if his actions slowed. You shivered and trembled through the aftershocks, twitching before you finally begged him,
"Open." And you knew that you hadn't been mistaken. It was rare that you heard his voice. You were almost sure that it had been the first time. You knew he didn't speak simply because it pained him to do so, and you knew that he wouldn't do it unless he was absolutely sure. So, slowly, you peeled open your eyes and looked into the half-scarred face of your lover. Your hand glided over the smooth, untouched side of his face. One that was identical to Bo's. You didn't dare touch the scar tissue, as you didn't want to potentially hurt him. But, still, your eyes glided over it as if there wasn't a blemish there. Softly, you whispered,
"Okay, okay, okay, enough. Fuck- Vincent, I can't-" And he finally drew his hand away. You panted and relaxed, slumping against the solid block of wax and waiting until Vincent told you he was ready for you to look. Instead, you felt the plushness of his lips press against yours. It was soft and short, before he was kissing you again. And again, and again. You giggled, running your fingers through the strands of his hair and kissing him back each time. He kissed your cheek and your forehead, before he pressed soft kisses to the back of your eyelids. They nearly fluttered open, but then Vincent did it again. You made a face, questioning if you thought he was telling you to do what you thought he was. Then, he did it again and you heard the raspy whisper of the word,
"Hello, handsome." And you finally got to watch him blush properly.

A Mandalorian Birthday Surprise
Word Count: 2.3k
Pairing: Din x Reader, no usage of y/n
Warnings: major fluff, mentions of Cara Dune (yuck, i know, sorry)
A/N: some of the food I mention on here is actually from @raiikensmandaloriancuisine , so go check out their recipes here | General Masterlist | Taglist
Sometimes when Din knows you're fast asleep, he likes to search you up on the holonet to see what shows up. Not that he’s looking for reasons to dump you off in the next space port. No, he’s just curious about what information he can find out about your life before joining him and Grogu.
It’s not until he pulls up a minor traffic violation from Coruscant’s police records when he notices your date of birth. Din never really paid much mind about your birthday in the past, different planet rotations made birthdays a bit tricky. However, he never thought to look up your birthday on the Galactic Standard Calendar. And now, your galactic standard birthday is practically slapping him in the face.
Maker, he thinks, it’s today!
Just his rotten luck. As he sits in the cockpit chair, he glances over at you sound asleep in the passenger seat, making snores so soft even his sensors are having a hard time picking them up. You look so peaceful for someone harboring such a personal secret. Din looks pretty statuesque himself in his armor. While normal, the cause this time is from being frozen in horror at the fact that he has nothing planned for your “big day.”
Zip. Zilch.
Why would I make it such a big deal? Din reasons with himself. Obviously, it’s not something you’re concerned with, never mentioning birthdays. I haven’t revealed mine. Why does it matter?
Din sighs quietly. He knows exactly why.
You matter to every rim of the galaxy in his eyes. Every day, it’s like you wake up and make it your personal mission to brighten up Din’s spaces and make his newly found clan whole. You are the missing piece Din never knew he needed. It’s not a question of if it matters, but rather, “is there a reason I shouldn’t?”
Din taps in a new set of coordinates, careful not to disturb you. Luckily, the destination isn’t more than a few hours away. As he issues a few “urgent” messages through his holopad, Din feels a gentle tug on the end of his cape and finds Grogu rubbing sleep from his Krugga doe eyes. The kid makes hushed coos.
Din picks up Grogu and stands up from the seat, cradling him. “Shhhh,” Din hushes, “don’t wanna wake buir.” He stealthy skirts past you and climbs down the cockpit ladder to whisper a bit more freely.
“It’s a good thing you’re up, ad’ika. We’ve got things to make.”
Grogu frowns and murmurs.
“Yes, that includes snacks.”
For the next couple of hours, Din and Grogu both work on their secret birthday projects in their respective corners on the hull. For Grogu, Din sets the child (along with his newly acquired Mantell mix and juice pack) on a bundle of blankets and brings Grogu his meager art supplies. “Go crazy, kid. But remember, think thoughtfully this time.” Grogu doesn’t pay him any attention as he zones in on the crayons, already having a picture in mind.
Din then saunters off to the cargo hold of the hull to the ship’s nano-cooker. There, he prepares a covert celebration classic, Uj’alayi. It’s a dense cake he and his fellow mandalorians-in-arms used to eat on special occasions (for the most part, but when the sweet cravings struck…). The cake itself is composed of whatever preserves and spices you have on hand: chopped nuts, dried fruit, flour, assorted hand-me-down spices from Din’s covert, and (most importantly) the spiced syrup of uj’ayl.
Once the cake is done baking and cooling, Din carefully stashes it away in a nearby empty crate. He quickly puts on a kettle of his usual jana’caf (spiced caffeinated drink, his specialty) to hopefully mask the smell of the cake. When all of his cooking is complete, Din checks up on how Grogu’s progress is coming along. Despite his size and lack of maturity, Grogu makes quite a few wonderful drawings, even a few decorations of his own. But this artistic expression comes at a price. Grogu has trashed his workspace and is now covered in his work and causes Din to frantically clean up after Grogu and his messes.
As soon as Din has gotten the last of the glue off of Grogu’s face, he hears you stirring in the cockpit above. In a flash, he gathers all of the drawings, decorations, and supplies and throws it in the crate alongside the cake. When you descend the ladder, Din resumes wiping off Grogu’s face to cover up his previous actions.
“Hey,” you say groggily, still dressed in your sweats. “What smells so good?”
“It’s probably the caf waiting for you on the hot plate.”
“Oh, thank you.” Din nods your way. You try to focus your eyes on the kettle across the hull as you shuffle closer to it. You get out your mug and pour yourself a cup. It’s not until after you sigh in relief from the first taste of caf that you speak again. “Hmmm, no. I’m smelling something more bread-y. You make bread, Djarin?” You look at the nano-cooker for any signs of baking.
Din panics only a little at your suspicions, but he has been rehearsing this fib since the cake’s cooling. “I made some, what do you call it, pancakes for this one here. I did make you some, but this green gremlin ate them.” Grogu crosses his arm and grumpily babbles at Din for the false accusation. “We’ve run out of ingredients, so I set coordinates for Nevarro to pick up a few things at the market.”
You gulp the cup of caf and set it down. “Sure. Well, good luck trying to avoid speaking to Karga. I’m going to clean myself up.” You make your way over to the fresher but pause in the doorway to look smug at Din. “Oh, you missed a spot, by the way.” Din turns to find he’s been mindlessly moving the cloth in circles on Grogu’s already clean cheek. Dins sighs as you chuckle to yourself as you close the fresher door behind you.
He looks in the kid’s eyes. “You think your buir bought it?”
“Eh.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Din has you off on the supply run as he “runs a few errands.” You think to yourself, that’s exactly what I’m doing! He’s been acting really strange since the moment you woke up. When it comes to things that matter to him, Din is terrible at hiding his emotions. What could have gotten him in such a twist?
You mull over all the possible options as you skirt your way over to Greef Karga’s offices. Din can avoid others all he wants, but you try your best to keep in touch with what few allies you have.
You don’t even look straight into his office as you come in since you’re used to these visits. You nearly drop the sack of flour when everyone shouts at your arrival.
“Surprise!”
To your astonishment, you find familiar faces staring back at you: Din, Grogu, Karga, Cara, even that mythrol whose name evades you. Surrounding them are a bunch of hastily put together decorations and lovely child-like artworks plastered on the walls. Desks have been moved to the side as tables of food and drinks have been scattered across the office. The one table they’re huddled around has a sugar-dusted cake filled with nuts and candied fruit front and center.
You can’t believe you’ve forgotten your own birthday, losing all track of time traveling with your Crest companions over the months. What you can’t believe even more is the unexpected dedication you see before you. You stand frozen at the door in content shock.
“It would have been a lot nicer if helmet head notified us sooner,” the mythrol butts in. Cara jabs him in the side with her elbow while maintaining her smile. Din moves from his position by the table to grab your hand in front of you.
“Happy Birthday, ner kar’ta.”
You smile up at Din, and he stands there for a beat before leading you over to your party patrons. Karga beams at you while holding an equally joyful baby in his arms.
“See! I told you Mando had gone all soft on you.”
You continue to look mildly glossy-eyed at Din. “You came up with all this? But I didn’t…”
“You didn’t have to. Besides, I was looking for excuses to treat you anyways.” Din clears his throat, the hard-shelled liar.
“Well,” you smirk at Din, “in that case, I think you’ll find at the top of my treat list is the admission of your own birthday.”
“We’re getting ahead of ourselves here.”
That gets a laugh out of everyone.
Greef Karga chimes in. “Alright, are we just gonna stand here and talk about our wishes or are we going to dig in and relish in them?”
You drop the supplies you were holding in your other arm only to be quickly caught by Din. “Of course! I could eat an entire bantha.”
You spend a good chunk of the day on Nevarro eating and drinking, having a surprisingly relaxing time celebrating your birthday. Din’s cake, amazing. You had your silent reservations about the heavy, fruity, and nutty cake; but the combinations perfectly compliment one another in a sweet earthy way. You make sure to save a large helping of your meals for Din to savor later. You swap crazy mission stories with the company much to Din’s embarrassment (you can tell, his hands can’t keep still). You also carry Grogu around the room to give praise to his wall of artwork as he tries to explain to you the reasoning behind the pieces. You nod, though half of the time you have no idea what you’re staring at. But you cherish the gesture nonetheless.
By the end of your visit, Din speaks to you off to the side of the office. “You enjoy the rest of the party. I’ve got to go take care of something for real this time. See you back at the Crest, mesh’la.” He holds the side of your face before walking out into the streets of Nevarro. When you turn back to the company, everyone (minus the mythrol, who decided to bail after he received the food he was promised) is lined up with gifts. Karga and Cara wiggle their eyebrows at Din’s response. Karga loudly whispers to you. “See...soft.”
You roll your eyes. “Shut up. What’s this?”
“Surely you know no birthday party is ever complete without gifts.” Karga sticks out a small rectangle of paper to you. The card is a non-expiring coupon for one free couple’s massage at the Twi’lek healing baths. You look confused at him. “For when you figure out when his birthday is,” Karga responds. You awkwardly chuckle at the bizarreness of the gift, but you accept it in hopes to at least convince Din to have a trip there soon. You move on and Cara hands you an expertly crafted yet sturdy dagger. “To keep you safe on those wild missions,” she tells you. You nod and smile in appreciation. Finally, you crouch down to Grogu who’s got his hands behind his back and can barely contain his excitement. You beam at him. “You’ve got more?! I thought the art was your gift.” Grogu giggles and shakes his head. He abruptly sticks out his arm to show you a sealed packet of blue cookies. His gift shocks you the most out of the three. This kid never offers up his food. “Your secret stash? Buddy… Tell you what, how about we split the cookies later and you show me how to fingerpaint like that. Deal?” Grogu nods furiously and runs up into your arms, hugging as much as he can with such little wingspan. You hug the little squirt back as you pick up him and the cookies.
You gather your gifts and food to take back to Din, say your thanks and “see you soon”s to Karga and Cara, and head back home. You greatly anticipate your much needed rest from such an eventful day.
When you open the hatch to the Crest, Din is standing in front of the opening (how long has he been standing here like this?). “Your birthday’s not over yet, mesh’la.” You set down Grogu and your items on the floor of the ship and close the hatch behind you. You notice he has his arms behind him and flash him a coy smile. “It’s not?”
Din responds by handing you a bouquet of a beautiful assortment of wildflowers. You soften at the sight of them and take a deep breath at its fragrant smell “They’re wonderful, Din. Thank you.” He tilts his head off to the side and rubs your hand. “Look closer.”
You examine the bouquet closer and notice what holds the flowers at the stems. Pulling around the flowers, you find a chain bracelet made of the familiar pure beskar silver sheen. In the center of the bracelet, a small mudhorn charm shines back at you.
Din breaks the silence between the two of you. “I know how much you hate necklaces getting in the way when you tinker away at the ship. I uh - also asked the Armorer to leave a few extra spaces to maybe add charms of your own… If you ever feel like it. But, don’t tell her I didn’t give this to Grogu, this technically counts as a marriage proposal in a handful of parsecs. And -” You whip your eyes back up to Din’s nervous gaze, suddenly tearing up at the generous gesture. You cut Din off by wrapping your arms around his neck, still holding the bouquet in your hand.
“It’s perfect Din,” you say, muffled by burying your face into his neck. You break your hold on him slightly to place a kiss on the exposed skin underneath his chin. “Thank you.”
Din processes the notions and holds you back. He sighs in relief and melts in satisfaction behind his helmet. “Of course.”
“Happy birthday, ner kar’ta.”

can I kiss you on the dancefloor?
Steve Rogers/Reader
One year into a relationship, yet still dancing in secrecy. Steve thinks he’s protecting you.
When a civilian and a hero fall in love, anything could go wrong. But not in the way Steve would have thought.
Or how the media play with the lives of superheroes.

On his day-offs, Steve Rogers was a man full of disguises.
When they first started, it was the baseball cap and thick-rimmed glasses. He liked it, it was simple, but he knew it wouldn’t be long before someone would notice. How could one not when his face was the one plastered in old war propaganda, in the museums commemorating his achievements, and even flashes on the telly when you walk past the local electronics store.
Hence, it wasn’t a surprise when the tabloids posted a photo of him in his disguise, waiting at a crosswalk on a cold night.
‘Captain America spotted on a midnight stroll’ came the next morning. It was taken after he was done walking you home, thankful they didn’t catch a glimpse of you.
“So capsicle, where were you off to last night?” Tony greeted him at breakfast, offending paper in hand. He unrolled it, opening and making a show of reading, displaying the front page for all seated to see. “Nice reading glasses, wasn’t aware you needed them.”
Striding into the room, Natasha came and snatched the tabloid. She gave it a critical eye, judging, before turning towards him.
“Hmm, recycling disguises, Rogers? I’m disappointed.”
Steve just groaned in reply.
The second time it happened, he had gone to the Black Widow herself for advice. He had expected sound advice coming from a former KGB spy who spent her paycheck on hair, but all he got was a stick-on mustache. Something about ‘needing to blend in rather than pointing the obvious’.
“I don’t know what you’re up to, Steve, but at least it’s better than that nerd get-up,” she smirked.
You had liked it. Giggling every time he kissed you, the fibres tickling your lips. He had ‘a caterpillar’ on his upper lip as you called it. And Steve had learned to get used to the itch.
But it wasn’t long before his new look was the star in barbershops.
‘Captain America’s new look takes the world by storm.’ They had caught him again in another paparazzi shot. Tony had teased him for days after.
He couldn’t shake it off easily, constantly reminded of it when he walked the streets. Seeing them on screens when he’s channel-surfing. Even when he’s training new recruits, his vision filled with a sea of unshaved cadets, their hairy upper lips a prominent fixture.
He knew he had to do something when Bucky and Sam came in one day sporting twin mustaches.
He discarded the strip of fibre in the bin. Reminding to pay Natasha a visit.
The third time he decided, he seeked out the help of Scott Lang, who was a master in keeping out of sight during his burglary days. Scott had given him a black beanie and told him to grow out his facial hair.
The beanie hid his golden locks and the beard made him look rugged. You loved it, your thighs quivered when it was him and you in the four walls of your room. Uncontrollable groans as he went down. ‘Beard burn’ you had called it. Whatever it was, he loved the sounds you let out.
Four months. That’s how long the disguise lasted. His longest disguise to date.
Before he became a trend.
‘Captain America is the new style icon.’ The internet sleuths found out where he got it too. ‘The sale of Walmart beanies skyrocketed by 70% thanks to Captain America.’
Tony had bought everyone in the compound a black beanie for Christmas, including the receptionist.
“Our grandpa’s a trendsetter, who knew,” he announced. Steve had smacked the back of Tony’s head with the beanie before retiring the disguise.
Now, sitting in The Sleeping Cat, Steve had opted for aviators and a Nasa baseball cap. He still kept his beard after your pleads, and he liked the look, he admits. It was back to basics for him and this was one of the only places where he was safe from prying eyes. Afterall, it was in this very café where he had met you.
The Sleeping Cat was a quaint little thing, a hole in the wall in a quiet part of the city. Not many knew of its existence, the entrance obscure, a blink and you’ll miss it. Which made it all the more perfect for him. The baristas knew him and minded their own business, offering him a smile every time he visited. ‘You’re safe with us’ they seem to say.
He could say the same about the patrons. Most that frequented were regulars like him, they seemed the same, looking for a place to get away from the overbearing world. They seemed to share an understanding, paying him no mind as if he was just another man they passed on the streets. And that’s how he preferred it.
Just a boy from Brooklyn.
Ding!
The chime of the door pulled him out of his thoughts. Facing the door, he saw you, smiling as you came through.
This was the best part of his days.
Tumblr media
You had met Steve Rogers at the most unexpected of times.
Terminated from your previous job at a small gallery, dumped by an ex-boyfriend after a 2 year relationship, you were at an utmost low. To escape your roommates —in case of pitying or prying, but if you were honest with yourself, it was to escape your own humiliation— you left the apartment on weekdays under the guise of going to work. In reality, you were at The Sleeping Cat applying for jobs on your laptop.
It was during one of the afternoon hours when you felt a tap on your shoulder.
Turning to your left, you were greeted by a pair of startling blues. They were bright but worn as if they’ve seen too many. Looking at the bigger picture, you took him in. Hair hidden under a cap, a sharp jaw and an equally sharp nose, and if you looked closely, you thought you could spot a few moles on his cheeks. He looked familiar, but you couldn’t put a finger to it.
Eyes fleeting to his lips, you realized he was actually talking.
“Huh?”
“I was wondering if this seat’s taken?” He smiled, gesturing towards the empty seat opposite. He was clearly amused.
“Yeah, sure, sure,” you nodded, making room for his things.
The following days, it became a routine and an arrangement. You would be at the café as early as the owner would allow, laptop in hand. While he would come in the afternoons in a different jacket each day, a sketchbook in hand. You would be propped up, sending application after application, praying for luck. While he would quietly sit, churning sketch after sketch, in a relaxed demeanour.
Sometimes you would peek over your screen and watch him draw for a few minutes, lost in his strokes. When you look up, you’ll find his eyes locked with yours, and you’ll immediately reimmerse yourself behind the screen, embarrassed.
It was a comfortable routine. You came to expect him everyday. And on the days that he didn’t make it, you felt a bit forlorn looking at the empty seat. You both didn’t talk much, yet you were getting comfortable in his presence.
Until one day, he broke the silence.
“So, what is it that you do?”
You stared, dumbfounded. Looking around there wasn’t anyone nearby.
“Were you talking to me?” you asked.
“Yes,” he chuckled. “It’s just that you’re always on your computer…” he trailed off.
“I’m an assistant curator at an art gallery— or, er, used to be,” you explained. “Long story short, I lost my job and now I’m looking for a new one, that’s why I’m here.”
He seemed to ruminate before replying, “So you know a thing or two about art?”
You both started a new routine; one with a lot of communicating. He would ask you about your mundane weekends and interests and in turn, you would ask about his. Except, he was anything but mundane.
On the days he was absent, you learned Steve was away on a lot of ‘business trips’. When he returned, he had never failed to present you with a souvenir. From matryoshkas to sarongs, it was always a surprise accompanied by a tale.
“The pattern on the sarong is called a batik, and it’s amazing how they’re drawn using wax like a liquid crayon. It’s an interesting art form.”
Outside of your little routine, he was an enigma. You barely knew about the Steve outside of The Sleeping Cat. Sometimes he threw the names ‘Bucky’ and ‘Sam’ a lot —out of exhaustion— without giving away anything, remaining tight-lipped. While his mysteriousness should’ve been a cause of concern, you couldn’t help but gravitate towards him, wanting to peel more of his layers, like the shell of a matryoshka.
The routine went on for a few more weeks, with calls of interviews and business trips in between. Before you received a phone call.
“I got a job! At the Whitney!” you squealed, shaking his shoulders over the table, oblivious to the other patrons. Steve endured it, smiling.
“Congratulations,” he said when you’ve calmed down. “I guess this is the last time I’ll be seeing you?”
You froze, high coming down, realization settling in. After a few weeks of secret meetings, of getting to know him, of having lunch together, of sharing laughs, you’ve come to see Steve as a good friend. And maybe, there was the birth of something more.
“Let’s exchange numbers,” you said, opening your phone. “This way, maybe we can hang out again. Have lunch sometimes?”
“I’d like that.” He smiled.
And the rest was history.
Making your way towards The Sleeping Cat, you amused yourself with past memories. Memories from almost over a year ago.
Steve had come to give a speech at the opening ceremony of an exhibition at the Whitney. Your first exhibition as a curator. An exhibition on art from the war times. When they had announced his title, a loud ‘oh’ was the only thing you could muster.
The ‘ding’ of the bell resounded, announcing your arrival. Heading in, you saw a head perked up, beaming, baseball cap securing his golden locks and aviators hiding his mesmerizing blues.
This was the best part of your days.
But maybe, you were getting a little tired.
Tumblr media
If someone were to ask you months ago if you were happy and content with your relationship, you would’ve replied with a swift yes in a heartbeat. No hesitation, no reservations, no doubt. Now, sitting in the same cafe, the same one you frequent on dates, the same one you both met in, you weren’t sure of the answer anymore.
As Steve gets up to order for you both, your eyes wander to his sketchpad. It was filled with sketches of random objects; the flower on the table, the pastries on display, sometimes the patrons of the cafe, and occasionally, you.
“You’re my favourite subject, so far.”
It was not for the lack of love or the lack of affection. Steve was the most loving; loyal in so many ways, gentle when asked, and protective to a fault. Maybe the protectiveness was the cause of it all.
Staring at Steve’s back, your mind shifted to a memory from the past week, when your roommate pulled you aside from a get-together at the ice rink.
“Hey,” she called your name, taking a hold of your elbow. “Can I talk to you for a sec?”
“Sure, what’s up?” you followed her, leading you to the sides.
Her eyes conveyed her worry. It amplified with the chewing of her bottom lip, a nervous tick.
“Are you and Steve… okay?” she asked, her brows perked. “I’m not sure if you notice, but today, it’s full of couples.”
You looked towards your group of friends. There was your roommate’s girlfriend tying her skates, your other roommate and her boyfriend talking to another couple —their friends— and they were all holding their significant other’s hand. Oh.
“I don’t want to throw you out of the loop, but there would probably be a lot of double skating involved today,” she said, widening her eyes, looking comical. “Do you want me to talk to Steve? Maybe I could convince him to come, y’know?”
Out of your two roommates, she was the only one who knew of your paramour. Having walked in on you and Steve making out on the couch. She was sworn into secrecy, with the promise of autographs from all the Avengers.
“Look, it’s okay,” you assured her. “I can handle skating alone, and you know why he can’t really come here with us,” you shrugged.
“Okay, but aren’t you tired? Of all this sneaking around? Don’t you want to shout to the whole world ‘I’m fucking Captain America!’” she flailed.
You shushed her, muffling her mouth with your gloved hand.
Part of the secret was how Steven Rogers was an engineered superhero. A superhero with many enemies, leading him to fear for his loved ones, and that included you.
You went into the relationship whole-heartedly knowing the challenges; discreet rendezvous, kisses in the dark, minimal contact in public. You were his secret and he was yours. It was for your own good, wasn’t it?
“What’s got your little head wrapped up?” Steve’s voice startled you, bringing you back to the café. On the table, two cups of coffee and a slice of cake was served.
“Hmm? Oh, just thinking about this party the museum’s throwing this weekend,” you took your cup, blowing, contemplating your next words.“Say, how about you and I, I don’t know, go as dates?”
Steve crunched his brows. “You know that’s a hard thing for me to do, especially with your colleagues around.”
“I know! But maybe… maybe, you can go in one of your disguises this time? Remember that one time we went to Central Park?”
Steve exhaled, he remembered that afternoon. It was the one-off that you both ventured on a date in the outdoors.
Decked in his beanie, casually strolling through Central Park with you beside him. Although he was still wary, keeping his hands in his pockets, fighting the urge to hold your hand.
No one had recognized him; not the ice-cream man, not the kids running around, not the mothers pushing strollers. No one.
“I’ll see what I can do.”
You leaned forward, pecking him on the lips multiple times. “Thank you!”
Tumblr media
“You sure this looks convincing?”
“Trust me, punk. Grade A assassin here, thank you very much,” Bucky boasted while fixing the wig on his scalp, untangling the unruly strands.
Steve had sought Bucky for help, with the belief that assassins were good at hiding in plain sight (and maybe, he just didn’t want to go to Natasha twice). Bucky was also his most trusted confidant and he knew about you, Steve trusted him not to tell. But now looking at himself in the opposite mirror, he wasn’t so sure of that anymore.
Long dangly tresses hung on the sides of his face parting in the middle, a trimmed beard leaving a bit of goatee, and to finish it off, Bucky dressed him in a checkered shirt consisting of random coloured squares. He looked like he just stepped out of the 60’s.
“Oh, wear these,” Bucky handed him a pair of large wire-framed glasses. “Done.”
Steve took a look in the mirror. A seedy pimp was the first thought that crossed his mind.
“Thanks Buck, I owe you one.”
“Sure Stevie, just bring me around next time on one of your dates, I’d like to meet her,” Bucky winked. “Or make it double.” He wagged his brows. “Like old times.”
Steve snorted.
“Okay, I got—“ Steve’s words halted when an alarm blared overhead. It demanded their attention.
“Captain Rogers, Sergeant Barnes, your presence is required in Prep Room six,” called the disembodied voice. “There’s been a breach of extraterrestrial energy in the airspace of Sweden.”
Steve exited and rushed through the hallways, Bucky following close behind. He made it through the living quarters, trudging to the training wing before entering one of the many prep rooms.
“Nice costume, Cap. Halloween already?” Sam quipped. Almost everyone was present, they were equally amused.
Before anyone else could follow, Tony strided in immediately, grumbling. “Okay team, there’s been an E.T synthezoid putting holes in the ozone layer. I’ll fill you all in the quinjet. Suit up and meet me at the hangover in 10.”
Everybody gathered their equipment and hurried to leave, passing by him. Before Tony could, he took notice of Steve and did a double take. And then a third.
“What’s with the pimp daddy get-up, Capsicle?”
Steve huffed, ignoring the jab. “I have something that I need to attend. How important am I in this, Tony?”
“We need all hands on deck. We don’t really know what we’re up against, Fury’s still running recon,” Tony explained, squaring his shoulders. “Whatever it is you have, Cap. It can wait. Lives are at stake here.” With that, he left, not standing by for a response.
“Darn it,” Steve cursed, removing the glasses and the wig.
He left the prep room with his shield in hand. With one hand, he shot a text to you. He’ll make it up next time.

Loverboy [6:30 PM]: Emergency mission
Loverboy [6:30 PM]: Can’t make it, sorry
You switched the screen off, sighing. Around you, the party was in full swing. Invitees mingling with refreshments in hand, discussing the pieces on display tonight, and bidding on the pieces they find exquisite. Hors d’oeuvres and champagne were being served, brought around by servers on silver platters. You’ve been munching on them non-stop, grabbing one every time a server comes your way, needing something to occupy you.
Surrounding you, you’d see the occasional couple walking around, enjoying their time. The palms of their hands locked in each other’s as they navigate together, rarely straying afar.
You clenched your hand, reminded of how empty it felt.
It was inevitable, you were warned of this, you were told to expect this. Dating a superhero meant that he was never solely yours. You were sharing your boyfriend with someone, except that someone was the world.
“Hiiii!” a shrill voice broke your thought, calling you by name. A blonde woman, followed by a brunette emerged from the gathering of art-goers, headed towards you. “It’s been a long while!”
“Hey! Yeah, it’s been awhile,” you waved, recognizing the two.
When they reached you, you were aware of the slight tension in the air, leaving the three of you standing awkwardly. After all, these two were your ex-colleagues and you didn’t exactly leave the previous gallery on good terms. Tonight was a night with masks, it seemed.
“So, how are you two doing?” you decided to get it over with.
“We’re fine, everyone’s fine! But how are you? We heard you worked here now, pretty impressive,” the brunette —Claire— winked at you. You laughed.
“Yeah, it’s so nice seeing you again, and at the Whitney? The pay must be good, you know what I’m saying?” Hilda chimed, knocking her elbows with yours. You didn’t appreciate it but you endured.
“Say, what are you doing over here far away? Why not you join us over there,” Hilda pointed, towards a mounted canvas at the end of the hall. It was occupied by two men in a discussion among themselves. “Chat a bit to catch up, a bit of art philosophical debate in between. What do you say?”
You contemplated her offer, not wanting to seem pretentious, but thought about the false flattery and ego-stroking that would sure ensue in their company. The thought of it drained you.
“It’s okay,” you waved them off nervously. “I have to call my boyfriend sooner, gotta check up on him and let him know I’m... alright.” You held up your phone, playing on convincing.
“Oh? He isn’t here tonight?” Claire seemed to feign worry.
“No, he got caught up with something. He’s a busy man,” you cooked up an excuse. No one could know.
“Okay… In that case, we’ll leave you to it. Maybe we’ll bump into each other sooner.”
“Yeah, I’ll see you guys soon.”
They waved before backing away into the mass of patrons. You let out a breath you didn’t know you held in.
While the interaction was unexpected, this was what you had to deal with when it came to the question of your relationship. The excuses, they became second nature to you. The lies. The deceit. Anything to protect Steve’s identity, and inadvertently, you.
Throughout the night, you mingled with any clients interested in a work of art, all the while stepping out of Hilda and Claire’s line of sight. You didn’t wish a repeat of the earlier evening.
When the crowd started dwindling, signalling the end of the night, you were relieved of your duties. You headed straight for the restrooms after, one getaway before leaving. You huddled yourself in a cubicle, locking it shut.
Seconds in, you heard the creak of the restroom door followed by the clicks of heels.
“Can you believe it? Someone like that got the chance of working here.”
You recognized the nasally tone. It was Claire.
“Yeah? Not like she deserves it. I mean look at her? Demure, slow. It’s like talking to a mouse. I bet she’s a prude too.” That was Hilda.
The gushing of the faucet muffled their voices, but their sharp words were clear as day, your ear catching every snark and hiss.
“And when she was talking about her boyfriend? He probably doesn’t even exist, it was just to get off our backs,” Hilda paused. “Last time I heard, her boyfriend dumped her. So, I guess she’s creating imaginary ones now.”
They both cackled.
By now, you knew they were talking about you. Their words didn’t hurt as much, you knew the colour of their hearts beneath the masks. But was that how people viewed your hidden relationship? A facade? A farce?
Once the door clicked shut, and the tapping of their heels faded, you left the restroom, heart feeling heavier.

Steve chuckled when he turned on his phone, amused at your texts. You always sent him good luck messages every time he went off for missions. Although he didn’t seem to get the emoticons that you sent, even after being taught by Peter Parker. He just didn’t get them.
Steve dialed your number, sitting on the edge of the bed as he dried his washed hair. Beeps ringed before you picked up, your smooth lilt permeating the speakers.
“Hello? Stevie?”
Steve smiled, missing the caress of your voice after a day filled with explosions and cries.
“Hello, sweetheart,” he greeted. “How’s my girl been?”
“Great, now that you called,” you teased. “But are ‘you’ fine?” you emphasized.
On the other end of the line, you mirrored his position, sitting on one corner of the bed. Picking the newspaper in your lap, you observed the front page: ‘Avengers saves the Arctic!’
“Same old, same old,” his voice carries. “Listen, about yesterday—“
“It’s okay,” you interrupted him, other hand gripping the newspaper. “You have to protect the Earth and that also means me. You don’t have to apologize, I knew what I signed up for.”
Did you? Or was it now a hollow statement to convince yourself?
“I still want to make up for it, my girl deserves that much,” he responded.
You slowly unclenched the paper. It left Steve’s form crinkled.
“If you want to sooo bad,” you exaggerated. “There’s a Valentines charity ball for our arts program in three weeks time. You think you could make it this time?”
“You know no promises, but I plan to, even if I have to do everyone’s laundry for a week.” You heard rustling on the other line. “What’s the exact date? I’ll put it on my calendar.”
“The 16th.” Scratchy scribbling filled your ear, the sound loud in the silence.
“Done. Can’t wait to see you all dolled up, sweetheart.”
“Me too, baby,” you said. “At least put on a nice moustache this time.”
He laughed. Your heart felt lighter. To him, it was probably nothing, but to you, it was a form of reassurance. A reassurance that what you had was real.
Tumblr media
“Steve, you got a moment?”
The aforementioned man turned around, taking a glance over his shoulder. Sharon Carter slowed to a stop, a small smile on her face. As always, she carried an air of superiority, matching that of Steve’s wavelength. Yet today, it seemed dim.
“I think we need to talk, you have time for coffee?”
Glancing at his watch, he nodded. “Sure, Sharon. Lead the way.”
She took them outside of S.H.I.E.L.D and into the chilly air of DC, navigating through streets and crowds while huddling in their coats. They chatted, breaths puffing as they caught up, the familiar scenes passing by.
He hadn’t been in DC in awhile, it felt good to be back.
“We’re here.”
Sharon headed in first, holding the door for him. He thanked her. They ordered and got seated. A smile was shared, strained as it seemed.
“Better just rip the band-aid off,” Sharon sighed. “I miss us.”
“Sharon—“
“Please, hear me out first,” she insisted, showing her palm. “We probably shouldn’t have done what we’ve done after Aunt Peggy’s funeral. I just lost someone I looked up to the most, and you lost the woman that you loved. We were both grieving. It wasn’t fair to the both of us.”
“While I do miss us, I know that it wasn’t meant to be,” she continued, shooting a sombre smile. “I understand that now. I guess, what I wanted was closure.”
Her hand quivered on the table between them. Steve clasped his over hers, offering to soothe.
“I don’t regret what happened in Germany. While yes, it should have not happened, it was what we thought we needed at that time. We both lost someone we held dear,” Steve explained, hoping his words reached her. “None of it was a mistake, Sharon. You’re still someone I trust and hold dear, remember that.”
Steve clutched her hand tighter, running his thumb over her knuckles in circular motions, attempting to calm and show understanding.
In his efforts, unknown to the two, the shutter of a camera went off across the street.
Tumblr media
Something felt off. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. At first, you thought it was your own anxious mind running.
You woke up late on a work day, burned your eggs and toast, accidentally wore unmatching socks, and your roommate was acting weird. All jittery when you entered the hall, stammering her words, and performing this bizarre dance when you walked past the living room. You gave her no mind when you passed the threshold and slammed the door, phone gripped in hand.
Loverboy [6:00 AM]: Good morning, dear
Loverboy [6:01 AM]: [image]
A photo of Steve, sweaty after a run showed on the screen. He was smiling, shirt stained and clinging to his chest. You had taught him how to take selfies.
You [7:20 AM]: morning, handsome
You [7:20 AM]: 😍😍😍
The morning texts were the best part of your morning commute. It made the arduous and packed journey worthwhile. Even when you almost tripped at the doors, it couldn’t take away your joy.
You made it just in time and clocked in, meeting clients and discussions with artists throughout the day. It was uneventful, although the bad luck seemed to have followed when you spilled your coffee on the concrete.
It was when you left the museum that your day took a turn for the worst.
On the ride home, the man opposite you was reading a newspaper. Nothing unusual, but at a glance, you thought you saw a familiar face printed on the corner. Before you could take a closer look, the man folded it in half and got off.
A few minutes later, you arrived at your stop, exiting the station with the fast-paced crowd. That’s when you were bombarded.
Lining the streets, your vision was filled with the scattering of a crowd of papers. Every face you saw was plastered in them.
‘The Good Captain In Love?’
‘A Superhero & A Civilian Romance?’
‘Captain America’s Girl? Mysterious Woman Sighted’
The sight of them left you in a panic, your anxiety spiking through the roof. Your world started spinning, everything —buildings, trees, faces— blending altogether. Everywhere your eyes deflected, a headline invaded your sight, imprinting itself on your retinas. Had they found out?
Composing yourself, you headed towards the nearest news stall, mind boggled with too many questions and not enough answers. How? Why? When?
Only, it wasn’t your face they were publishing.
‘“Oh Captain, My Captain” America in love? Spotted last week in DC was Captain Steven Rogers with a mysterious lady. They seemed to be cozy with each other, an eyewitness told Us Weekly. Story on Page 11.’
The photograph showcased Steve with a blonde woman, sitting in a café with their hands clasped on the table. Your heart shattered at the sight, remembering how empty yours have felt lately.
Was he purposely out with this woman in public? What did that mean for you? Why were you shadowed?
“Are you and Steve… okay?”
“She’s creating imaginary ones now.”
“Aren’t you tired? Of all this sneaking around?”
“You know that’s a hard thing for me to do.”
“Hey lady, you gonna pay for that?”
You were shaken out of your stupor. Looking down, you were clutching the magazine too hard, ripping the image of Steve and the woman in half, right in the middle where their hands met.
You apologized to the man and paid for the magazine. Immediately discarding it in the next trash bin you saw.
Tumblr media
“So… you and Sharon?” Sam had asked him after training.
“What?”
“You, and, Sharon,” Sam emphasized, pronouncing each syllable. “Are together. Man, when were you gonna tell me? I thought it was over.”
Steve froze before replying, “Because it is. A long time ago.”
“Well, this seems to say otherwise.”
Sam showed him his phone, the screen displaying an article; ‘Captain America’s Girl Revealed. A Family Affair That Transcends Time.’ On top of the article was a photo of him and Sharon at the cafe in DC, his hand atop of hers on the table. A zoomed in version of their hands were provided, fueling the tabloid’s narrative.
Steve paled at the sight. This wasn’t supposed to happen. This was his fears manifested; his anonymity taken, his privacy invaded, but his worst fear was putting his loved ones in danger. And if it was due to their association with him, it would leave him racked with guilt.
While the tabloids were wrong, he knew that Sharon could defend for herself. You on the other hand…
His heart rate rose, a new wave of anxiety spiked. Steve wondered if you’ve seen this. No, you must’ve seen this.
Fishing for his phone, with clammy hands, Steve quickly dialed your number, anxiously waiting for the beeping to end.
‘The number you’ve dialed is not—‘
“Damn it!”
His outburst surprised Sam, shocking him. Sam gave him a look, inquisitive.
“Sorry Sam, I have to run.”
He left, heart in his throat.
Tumblr media
When Steve arrived at your apartment, he was almost out of breath. He was still anxious, the ride here not doing much to his addled mind. But he was determined.
Rapidly knocking on your front door, Steve composed himself. When it opened, he was met with the sight of your roommate -- the one that he has never met before.
“Ca-Captain America?” she yelped, shocked to see him on the doorstep.
“Is your roommate in?” he steeled.
“Which one—”
“Steve,” a voice interrupted.
The door pulled further, widening the entrance. Steve was met with your familiar roommate. She was tense, arms locked across her chest, eyes full of fury. Steve detected something else in them; worry.
“You fucked up,” she said. He winced.
“I know,” he admitted. “And I’m here to make things right. Can I please see her?”
She sighed, stepping in, nodding towards your room.
Steve hastily walked in, stopping in front of your door. He knocked thrice, signalling you, before turning the knob. It was unlocked. The room was dark when he entered, every source of light switched off, except for your curtains.
Sitting on the edge of the bed was you, figure illuminated by the street lights against pitch black darkness. When he stepped in closer, you looked up, eyes meeting his.
Steve turned on the lights and closed the door. He took a good look at you; hair frazzled, eyes bloodshot and dry, nose red. You were the image of heartbreak.
“Are you ashamed of me?” you asked, eyes locked with his.
“What? No, I—“
“Is it because I’m not strong?” you cut him off. “I know she’s Peggy’s niece… a-and I know how much you loved her. She was your first love.”
“She and I, it’s all in the past. She moved on and lived her life, and I… did too.”
“But did you really, Steve? Move on?” you whispered, getting up. You stood in front of him. Steve could see how puffed your eyes were from crying. “Or was I just… a rebound?”
“No. No, you were never a rebound,” he took hold of your forearms. “I care for you, too much.”
“Then why?!” you shrieked, shocking Steve. “Why the secrets? Why the hiding? Steve, you’ve never even introduced me to your friends. Shouldn’t they know?”
“I wanted to protect you!”
“Protect me from what?!” you roared, eyes full of fury. “The Avengers? If they knew about me, they would protect me. Don’t you think so?”
Steve had no words to that, his mind a jumbled mess.
“I’m… beginning to think that you’re embarrassed with me,” you sighed. “We’ve never been on a date publicly, as each other. We’ve never held hands in public. I want you to meet my friends. I want to introduce you to them, and maybe soon, I want you to meet my family.”
“B-but, I’m tired, Steve. Tired of all the hiding. Of all the sneaking around. I want to tell the world that I’m in love with Steve Rogers, not Captain America,” you sighed, shedding a few tears.
You waited for his reply, only to be disappointed.
“You know I can’t do that.”
You saw red. All you saw was red.
You started pushing him, swatting him in the chest. Steve didn’t fight back, letting you unleash your anger, your disappointment. He took your hits, letting you release your pent up emotions. He began backing away when you started advancing, back against the door.
“Get out! Get out!” you screeched, pushing him.
When he unlocked the door and crossed, you immediately shut the door in his face. Steve heard sobbing from inside, his heart shattering at the sounds.
“This way, Captain,” your roommate approached him, showing him to the door.
Steve relented, shame flooding him. He fucked up.
Tumblr media
You stopped visiting The Sleeping Cat, wanting to avoid him at all costs. You blocked his number. You immersed yourself in your work, prepping for the upcoming charity gala.
Sometimes you find yourself thinking about him when sleep proved to be difficult. It’s when you’re laying at night that you missed him the most.
But it was for the best, you reasoned. For you and him.
Tumblr media
The Avengers PR had pushed for a fix-it, publishing a story that spoke a truth. ‘Just Friends: Romantic Allegations Proved False’. Steve had hoped you’d seen it.
He called you every day but found himself blocked from everything. He still tried, hoping you’d come around one day. He came by The Sleeping Cat every other day, sitting in the same spot, hoping to catch you.
But you never came.
Tumblr media
You clasped the necklace in place, admiring how it sat on your clavicle through the mirror. You took a step back and took yourself in, smiling at what you saw. It didn’t reach your eyes.
Today was the day of the Valentines gala and you weren’t feeling particularly giddy about it.
Opening your phone, you stared at the one contact that stood out, finger hovering over his name. That name used to give you so many feelings, but today it was a reminder that you were going alone, again.
Sighing, you threw it in your purse and left. Another lonely night, and on an even celebrating love.
Tumblr media
Days turned into weeks, and soon, before he knew it, the day of your Valentines gala arrived.
Steve stared at the calendar. The heart-shaped doodle he drew called out to him, reminding him of fond memories. Fond memories that seemed like a distant dream. But then, he went back to last week, and it all came crashing.
He had hurt you. While thinking he was protecting you, he hadn’t realized he was inadvertently pushing you away. He had no one to blame but himself.
He loved you. No, still loves you. You grounded him, gave him the normalcy that he craved. Reminded him of a distant time before he was Captain America.
You made him feel like the boy from Brooklyn again.
While he was ruminating in his feelings, Steve was caught off-guard when the door burst open with Tony Stark coming through. From his peripheral, he could see Bucky and Sam peeking through the frame.
“Heard from the Manchurian Candidate that someone has a case of the achy breaky heart,” Tony said, smug.
“Leave me alone, Tony. I’m not in the mood,” he grumbled, setting down the calendar.
“And leave you wallowing like shit while your girl is out there probably equally miserable? I know a thing or two about women, Rogers, and it’s that they don’t like to be kept waiting.”
Tony snapped his fingers and from behind, Sam came in with a tuxedo in hand.
“Thought you might need this,” Sam said.
Bucky came out behind him, with a brush and can of hairspray. “And I still know how to do hair.”
“And I have friends in places,” Tony quipped. “I can get you in.”
Steve was surprised. His friends had surprised him. You would’ve loved them. He was left speechless.
“What are you waiting for, Cap? Suit up.” Tony winked.
Tumblr media
Swirling the glass of rosé, your gaze fell towards the dance floor. An upbeat song was being played as people flocked near the middle, letting their bodies take charge for the night. You saw your former co-workers among the throng, hands thrown around their significant others, having the time of their lives.
The gala was in full swing, if the crowd and chatter was any indication. Red and roses were the main theme, with a red carpet stretching from the grand staircase towards the main hall and roses lining every corner and wall. Taking it all in, you were proud to see your ideas visualized and work came to fruition.
You sipped your rosé, enjoying every bit of the gala as you could. From the sidelines, you spoke with a few potential clients and art collectors. Their presence made you feel your importance, and if you dared say it, a little less lonely.
It was during one of your little chats that you didn’t realize when the hall suddenly fell quiet. You turned around when you felt a tap on your shoulder.
Tumblr media
“Hi folks, mind if I crash your party?”
Steve smiled at Tony’s antics. They both had arrived at the gallery dressed in their best, and with Tony’s connections, they were granted access.
Stepping down the grand staircase, Steve felt all eyes on him. He paid them no mind, the thought of you the only occupant of his racing mind. Gazing over the crowd, Steve spotted you to the side, occupied in a chatter.
Taking deliberate steps, Steve soon found himself behind you. He admired your gown and hair, it entranced him. You still hadn’t registered his presence, even when your partner had ceased chatting and was now staring at him.
With a tap on your shoulder, he was taken away as immediately as you spun around. Steve took in your whole image; your dolled-up face, your intricate dress, your styled hair. It left him floored.
You always did manage to take his breath away. Was this what he had been missing out all this time?
Taking your unoccupied hand, Steve pressed a small kiss before meeting your eyes.
“May I have this dance?”
Giving away your drink, you took his hand as he pulled your towards the centre, taking space among the crowd. A slow number started, and before you realized, you were swept in a slow dance. It didn’t take long before you felt the sensation of his two left feet.
“Sorry, a hundred years and you’d think I’d know how to dance,” he said.
A small smile lightened your face. Steve savoured it all he could. Gulping, he took the first step.
“I’m... sorry for what I’ve done. I realize now that you were right,” he started. “I thought I was protecting you, but now I see that all it did was push you away. You have all the rights to be mad at me. I was being an idiot, a selfish one. I didn’t think about how you felt about it.”
You winced. Steve had stepped on your toes again. He murmured an apology, resorting to swaying instead.
“Can we start again? No more hiding. No more disguises,” he breathed, keeping his eyes locked on yours. “ We can meet your friends, you can meet mine. Bucky’s been pestering me to bring you to the compound, he wants to meet you.”
You laughed. How Steve had missed the tune.
“How can I make it up to you? How do you want to take the first step? A picnic at Central Park? Dinner at the compound? A trip to the beach?”
You seemed to contemplate, a thoughtful look on your face. You both failed to realize all the eyes on you two.
“How about now?”
“Right here? Right now?” he asked.
“Yes, right here, right now,” you said, determined.
Without hesitation —no more— Steve dived in, planting a kiss on your wine-coloured lips for the whole world to see. Your first kiss in public, yet it felt as if it was only the two of you there, lost in the moment.
You both didn’t notice the gasping crowd nor the clicks of cameras from photographers nor the booming laughter of Tony Stark. You both only felt the other in your orbit, and that was all that mattered.
Tumblr media
“Can you put that down? You’ve been staring at it for the past hour.”
You pouted, setting the frame on the side table, where it has been designated since its publication.
“I can’t help it, I think it’s a good shot. Don’t you think so, Alpine?” you petted the snowy white cat lazing on the arm of the sofa. Its’ purrs intensified.
“Dinner’s ready!” Bucky shouted.
You and Steve left the room, joining the others in the dining room for dinner. On the side table, the framed article sat neatly, showcasing the tale of the famed occurrence that took place at a charity gala.
‘America’s Girl: The Modern Woman of The Captain’s Dreams.’

AN: I took a break from El Novio and thanks to Michael's Tiwtich stream an idea for Luke and Rory came about and I added that new pic y’alls mans posted 😌😌😌 also our newest 5sos!baby is named after my fave @wastelandcth
Requested? No
Warnings: general fluff with a breif interaction with rude a parent

Luke gently pushed down Aaliyah onto the couch. He quickly sat up and removed his shirt. He unzipped Aaliyah’s windbreaker and kissed down her body. His hands instinctively tugged down her leggings. He choked on air as he saw that she wasn’t wearing anything under.
“I get butt sweat when I wear panties.” Aaliyah explained to him.
“All the more reason why you should ditch Alex, Fiona and Marina and stay with me. I can get you hot and stretched out so you don’t go to hot yoga.” Luke said before kissing her thighs.
“Mumma, I need my leo!” Rory yelled from her room, making them jump.
“I got it.” Luke mumbled kissing Aaliyah.
He slipped on his shirt and adjusted his boxers to cover the tent in his sweatpants. He jogged upstairs to Rory’s room and found all of her clothes discarded on the floor.
“What’s this?” He asked her.
“I can’t find my leo.” She said, dramatically laying on her rug.
Luke rolled his eyes at his three year old. He picked her up and sat her on the bed. He tossed her clothes on the bed and noted that she took out the clothes on the bottom drawers she reached. He pulled the second drawer and closed it back up remembering that it was her tennis and not her gymnastics one. All of her leotards and gymnastics equipment were in her closet.
“Here you go love.” Luke said, handing Rory her favorite leotard. It was forest green with silver stars around her arms. She liked it in part because it was the same green as the shirt he wore where his ‘boobies’ showed. It also meant that Luke had to wear the shirt so they could be matchy-matchy. A term Rory took from Nico.
“Thank you.” She went to her bathroom and went to change.
Luke folded her clothes and put them back in the drawers.
“Tada!” Rory said before she did a somersault.
“A perfect ten.” Luke said.
“Woohoo!” she cheered as she jumped to give him a high five. She went to her closet and grabbed her koala Converse Luke’s parents gave her when they all went to Australia for the band’s final leg of tour back in December. “Can I wear these?”
“Of course. Do you need help tying your shoelaces?”
“Yes, but I put them on.” Rory said. She slipped them on and pushed her feet towards Luke. He tied them and nearly fell back when she tackled him to a hug. “Thank you daddy!”
“You are welcome.”
Luke placed her on his shoulders and let her steer them downstairs. He ducked her as they went through the door frame and made sure she didn’t hit her head again. He put her down on her feet and watched her greet the dogs. She scratched Goldie’s tummy and kissed both Noon and Petunia’s heads.
“Wash your hands love.” Luke said when he saw her pull her chair.
“Oh yeah.” She pushed her chair and went to wash her hands. She stood on the stool and washed her hands with Luke. She dried them and went to sit on her activities table to color while she waited for Luke to get started on breaky.
“I’m going to kill Marina.” Aaliyah groaned as she went straight to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of green juice. She looked back to a wide eyed Rory.
“Not nice, mumma.” Rory said, dumping her crayon box onto the table.
“I didn’t mean it literally. It’s an expression you say when you get annoyed with someone because they’re making you do something you don’t want to.” She quickly explained. She turned to Luke. “So our yoga class got cancelled, and Marina came up with the genius idea that we go hiking near the house she and Ashton bought near the mountains.”
“That’s not so bad.” Luke said, flipping Rory’s blueberry pancakes.
“She wants us to bring the kids.” She deadpanned.
“But Rory has gymnastics.”
“Now you know why I want to kill her.”
Luke placed the pancakes on a plate for Rory and made a smiley face with more blueberries. He placed her pancakes on the breakfast table and motioned to come eat. He nodded along to whatever else Aaliyah was telling him.
“So it’s settled then.” She said, making him look over to her, confused. She gave him a look before she explained, “I’ll go run a few errands and get what we need for the trip while you take Rory to gymnastics. She’s super excited to show you off.”
Luke smirked and proudly looked at Rory. “I mean, I am Luke Hemmings, the father of the Aurora Marie Hemmings-Douglass after all.”
***
“Daddy, lights.” Rory pointed at their green vintage Porsche with the headlights still on.
Luke turned back and adjusted Rory’s bag over his shoulder. “They’ll turn off in a bit. C’mon we’re already late.” He said, tugging her down to the street.
Once inside the gym, Rory pulled off her Converse and chucked them at Luke. She quickly snuck into the middle of the line and followed the warmups.
The second he sat down at one of the empty tables, he got swarmed by a group of teenage girls, all giddy that he was at their gym. He took a few selfies with them until their trainers called them back from their break. They all giggled and bid him goodbye.
Once the last gymnast left, Luke focused on Rory. She was the best in her class. She followed every direction and watched the other kids. She would gather their mistakes and make mental notes not to do them. A trait she got from Aaliyah.
If Ryan Tedder hadn't sat next to Aaliyah, who was taking notes of if her classmates' mistakes and improving her work, at the UC Berkeley showcase, Rory wouldn't exist.
A few hours had gone by, Luke began reflecting. He leaned back and crossed his arms. It was the first time in a while that he felt like a dad. On top of their own world tour they did the year before, in the past few weeks, the band had been traveling all over the UK and Europe opening for Halsey's tour. So Luke hadn't had much time to spend with Rory. The last he had seen her was when she and Aaliyah visited him in Amsterdam to celebrate Rory's birthday. Now seeing her almost a head taller and with a more broader vocabulary, made him realize all that he's missed.
His heart warmed watching Rory high five a blonde girl with soft blue eyes before she went up.
"She's great, ain't she?" A woman with a heavy East Coast accent said, approaching him. She had large ginger-red hair and held a large bedazzled Starbucks cup.
"Best in class if I say so myself." Luke said politely.
"No offense, but the best in the class is the charity case in the green leotard." Rory was only one in green. "Poor thing was lucky that this place takes students based on talent and not if their single mom can afford it. It's funny that they both say that the dad—"
"Go Rory!" Luke cheered as Rory did a perfect cartwheels across the floor.
He clapped loudly and whistled. Rory high fived the trainer and went up to him as the trainers announced the end of training.
"Daddy, did you see me?" Rory asked him, climbing onto his lap.
Luke nodded and smiled. "I did. Perfect as always, love." he handed her water bottle.
The woman had walked away and went to a group of moms. Luke had noticed them when they arrived, but didn't pay much attention to them. But now that he eyed them, he saw them for what they were: vultures. He felt angry and annoyed with them.
"Are you ready?" Luke asked Rory.
"Yes." She said.
He grabbed her things and let her lead them out of the gym. She swung their hands together as they made their way to the car. Luke placed her things in the back next to her and helped her buckle up in her car seat. He rounded back to the driver's seat and started the car. Only for it to not to start. The car struggled a bit and gave out.
Luke cursed, remembering that it was probably the car lights he left on. He called Aaliyah to help him recharge his car. While they waited for her, he handed Rory his phone and played her a movie. A few moms had come up to them and offered to recharge his car, among other things. He declined them, with Rory assuring them that her mumma was coming.
Aaliyah pulled next to them a good fifteen minutes later. Luke pulled her into a hug and thanked her after she teased him once again for forgetting to turn off his lights. Rory got out of the car and hugged her. She went on explaining to her all the new stuff she learned and how happy she was that Luke took her.
"Daddy, can I go with mumma?" Rory asked once Luke's car was starting again.
"Sure,” He nodded. “ I'll race you two home." He challenged Aaliyah.
She shook her head. They both knew Aaliyah is the better driver between the two. "It's on."
***
By the time they arrived at Ashton and Marina’s house it was around bed time for the kids. Around one in the morning Rory snuck into Luke and Aaliyah’s room because Max and Ethan were having a farting competition. Resulting in Luke and Aaliyah not being able to sleep because she took up half the bed, despite being barely three feet tall. But they were glad she was sleeping. The reason why they showed up at night was because she had a whole moment because they were taking the grey SUV Porsche and not the vintage green one.
“It’s so early Al.” Luke grumbled as he slipped on his boots.
“Oh shush, how many times did we have phone sex in the middle of the night because someone was in Europe and couldn’t wait a few hours.” Aaliyah sassed him as they quietly snuck outside.
Luke jogged to the car and removed Rory’s car seat, placing it in the trunk. Aaaliyah climbed inside and pushed him down on the seat. They devoured each other, not sure where to get started.
Aaliyah got off his lap and sat next to Luke, pulling off her pajamas. She threw them haphazardly around the car.  Luke already settled in the middle seat shirtless and with his pants and boxers around his ankles as his cock stood proudly. While Aaliyah fixed her hair, he searched inside the center console, grabbing a box of condoms.
“What’s with the condoms?” She asked as he skillfully rolled it on him. “We haven’t used one in years. Why do we need one now? We literally have a child sleeping upstairs”
“Aaliyah,” Luke groaned at her in frustration.
“I’m not going to get into it right now because it’s early, but after breakfast we’re going to have a serious talk.”
Aaliyah stood on her knees over Luke’s cock and reached down for it as she ran her arousal on it. Luke grabbed her hips and guided her down his cock. Both let out a satisfied moan. Aaliyah grabbed the headrest and slowly rode him. Once she got used to him, Luke met her thrusts. They were urgent yet passionate. Aaliyah was a moaning mess for him.
Luke watched her dainty Cartier necklace bounce on her chest. He pulled her lips back to his. They moaned into each other. Aaliyah rode him with more urgency, but he pulled out of her.
Aaliyah couldn’t process anything because next thing she knew, Luke laid her on the car seat. He planted one of his knees on the seat and wrapped her legs around his torso. Aaliyah’s whimpers filled the room as he thrusted back into her. One of her hands gripped his bicep while the other traveled down to her clit.
While she rubbed herself, she panted. “I’m going to come.”
“Fuck—can you hold it? I’m almost there.”
Aaliyah nodded.
Luke slowed his thrusts. They were deeper and more precise, he took her as if he was making love to her. Aaliyah pulled his mouth to hers. This kiss itself was also slow and soft.
Aaliyah closed her eyes, she was close. “Eyes on me Aaliyah” he said. She opened her eyes and met Luke’s full of love and admiration.
With one swift movement both came undone, moaning each other’s names.
After another heated makeout session they got dressed. They quietly giggled to each other, surprised that Ashton wasn’t up yet doing yoga by the picnic table. They closed the front door and found the kids running around.
“My daddy says that there’s supposed to be ten numbers on a phone 9-1-1 has three.” Nico argued with Ethan.
“Nico, I’m six almost seven, trust me.” He said.
“Why are we calling 911?” Luke asked them.
“Rory is missing.” Max and Gemma, Michael and Fiona’s daughter said at the same time.
Nico and Ethan shushed them. Nico fixed her rainbow pajama leggings and said. “As Gemma and Max said, Rory is missing. When we woke up she was— “
“It’s Gemma like gem not with an H sound.” Ethan interjected.
“Well I’m Mexican and Mexicans say it with an H.”
“This isn’t Mexico, Nicolasa.”
Aaliyah got in between Nico and Ethan before their argument woke up the other parents. “Okay! Let’s bring it back to Rory. What do you mean she’s missing?” She motioned to her and Luke. “We went for a quick...walk and left her sleeping in our room.”
“Oh.” the four kids said in unison.
“Can we have breaky?” Max asked, making his way to the kitchen.
“Mumma, I want breaky too.” Rory mumbled, rubbing her eye.
All the kids ran and hugged her. “Rory!”
“Where were you?” Nico asked like a worried mother, who’s kid accidentally napped when they were supposed to be paying attention to the route thus making them miss their stop.
Rory shrugged. “Sleeping.”
