#but man you gotta be able to note the small victories too

The thing I keep coming back to, with all the *gestures expansively* is that real life doesn't have peaceful epilogues.
Every single win has to be defended. Forever. I'm sorry. It sucks. The Nazis lost until they stopped losing. The US had abortion rights, and then 50 years later it didn't. Empires fall, and then they invade other countries again. Oppressive regimes are overthrown and replaced with other oppressive regimes. You will never finish the work etc etc etc. Which is why it's so fucking important to be able to acknowledge and celebrate progress, when it happens. The people who came before you didn't put in all that work for nothing, and you aren't, either. You can't save it all for the Ultimate Victory because there is never going to be an Ultimate Victory. There's no such thing as a time when everything is good, and ours shall not be the commune of Heaven.

Childish Ways
Osamu Miya x Reader
Genre: fluff
Warnings: none
Note: this is the first piece of writing on my blog!
Tumblr media
Osamu Miya who grew up just down the street from you.
Who you met when playing at the park and a volleyball smacked your head.
Who came running over with his brother’s shirt balled in his fist.
“Apologize Atsumu.”
Atsumu bowing down grumpily and saying a quick “sorry.”
Atsumu runs off while Osamu stands there looking at you.
A thoughtful look on his face.
He seems to come to a conclusion when he says “wanna come play with us?”
Skeptically you agree and run over to where Atsumu went with the ball.
Osamu Miya who becomes your best friend over the next few months.
Who always invites you to come over and bake cookies for his mom or to practice volleyball with Atsumu.
But one time when playing tag, Osamu Miya feels truly jealous for the first time.
Atsumu was the tagger and was right on your tail.
Swerving and dodging weren’t doing much to dissuade the chase.
But at a tree you were able to evade his grasp as Atsumu lunged forward for what he thought was the winning touch.
“Haha! Missed me! Missed me! Now you gotta kiss me!”
The song sprung from your lips as a victory cry, but it didn’t last long.
Especially since Atsumu grabbed your shirt and yanked you back.
In your stunned state the older twin proceeded to plant his lips on your cheek then run away with a blush and a giggle.
Osamu Miya who was watching from behind a bush with clenched fingers and tense shoulders.
Who was mad at his brother because Osamu was supposed to kiss you first.
Osamu Miya who thinks on the memory often when you come into Onigiri Miya for a snack.
Who desperately wants to confess his love for you but is too afraid of ruining the bond you already have.
Who holds you so close to his heart that he swears if you ever left he’d die of a broken heart.
Osamu Miya who knows your schedule like the back of his hand.
Knows when you’ll come in every morning to share a coffee before work.
Knows when you’ll come in in the afternoon for dinner.
Knows as soon as you walk in if something is wrong.
Osamu Miya who loves you so much that he’d do anything *anything* to make you happy.
Osamu Miya who misses you after you had gone on a trip.
So he invites you over to his apartment to make cookies like when you were younger.
Who gets a devious plan and a sly smirk.
Who gathers some flour in his hand and tosses it at your face.
“‘Samu! What the hell!” You exclaim with a smile that says you’re not at all mad.
You collect a scoop of flour as well and a small war ensues in his tiny kitchen.
And when he dodged one of your flour bombs the first thing that comes to mind and pops out of his mouth is “Missed me! Missed me! Now you gotta kiss me!”
You still for a mere fraction of a second before marching over to the broad man.
A fist grabs the collar of his shirt and the next thing Osamu knows is that he wants to never let you go.
Osamu Miya who lets out the most relieved sigh when you kiss him.
Who rest his hands on your hips and pulls you tight against his strong chest.
Who can’t control himself anymore and buries his face in your neck repeating “I love you” over and over again.
Osamu Miya who is surprised when you cup his face in your hands and bring his eyes to meet your own.
And when you smile with tears in your eyes and confess as well?
He’s the happiest man on the Earth at that moment.
He picks you up and spins you around.
You kiss and laugh and confess and just rejoice at finally belonging to the other.
And for the rest of the night you cuddle on the couch watching cheesy romance movies and eating cookies.

When you awoke the next morning you found yourself alone in your bed. The sheets were cold, though his side still smelt like Steve. You groaned as you stretched your arms above your head and your legs as far down as you could.
     You were sore.
Sore in the best possible way as butterflies flocked to your belly as you thought about how Steve was perfectly situated between your thighs or the way his cock filled you full.
You finally got the strength to get out of bed, legs slightly shaky as you grabbed your phone only to find it dead. It was plugged in and forgotten soon after as you started on a pot of coffee.
Your eyes caught sight of a note neatly placed on your small kitchen table, coming closer to inspect the neat writing over it.
Had to run to work, last night was everything and more. Give me a call when you see this. xx
    Steve (678-136-7092)
You smiled, as old-fashioned as a note might be, it made you feel warm inside as you impatiently waited for your phone to charge. It was only ten in the morning, you were sure he could wait just a little longer.
Your peace was soon disturbed by loud, incessant knocking at your front door that startled you, making you jump. You barely had time to set the piece of paper down before an envelope slipped under your door.
Grabbing it and quickly tearing it open you couldn't believe your eyes.
    An eviction notice?
You groaned, rolling your eyes in disbelief as you shot daggers at your front door where your landlord was surely standing not even minutes ago. Still, you shook your head, tossing the notice onto your table before grabbing Steve's note and hoping your phone had enough juice to turn on.
Your day seemed to be turning up as it flashed on, a small victory as you quickly punched in Steve's number, turning speakerphone on as you tapped your foot waiting for him to pick up.
"Was startin' to think I scared you off after last night," Steve chuckled as he picked up the phone on the third ring. You playfully rolled your eyes, falling back against your bed.
"Scared me off? If anything you'll have trouble getting rid of me." You chid back as you heard Steve laugh followed by a click, probably an office door closing.
"Princess I won't be gettin' rid of you anytime soon." He said earnestly as you bit your lip trying to conceal your smile. You felt giddy, like a high schooler talking to their crush late on a Friday night.
"Do you think you can come down to my office this afternoon? I think we should discuss some rules." He said seriously, a twinge of professionalism coming through as your stomach flipped with nerves.
"Uhm yeah, sure, does one o'clock work?" You asked, sitting up to take a look at the time on the wall clock mounted right across from your bed.
"That's great, I'll send over a town car. See you soon, Princess." Steve said and you could hear the smirk in his voice as you stood up, feeling more confident in yourself.
"I'll see you later, Daddy." You nearly purred as he groaned lowly on the other end of the line, "oh I can't wait." And with that you were getting ready for your day.
~
Stark Towers was an impressive, daunting looking building as you stepped out of the town car Steve had sent over. The driver told you to just go to the front desk, tell them your name, and the rest would be taken care of.
You did just that, the petite woman behind the desk giving you a warm smile as she led you through a set of doors where you both got into a polished elevator. She hit the number 92 on the panel before you began your swift ascent.
The doors opened to white marble tiling, dark blue accents, and crystal clean statutes as she led you to a large set of where the name Steve Rogers, VP read in neat writing. She knocked twice before the doors were opened.
Steve had a hard look on his face that softened immediately as he caught sight of you.
"Thank you Belinda, can you prepare an all access card for her please?" He asked as she nodded her head, disappearing back into the elevator as Steve led you inside of his office.
He embraced you, wrapping his arms around your waist and placed a sweet kiss to your lips.
"I haven't stopped thinking of you," he mumbled, smiling as you played with the short hairs at the nape of his neck. He hummed, feeling the vibrations against your own chest as he leaned his forehead against yours.
"But as much as I'd love to take you right here, over my desk and in front of the windows, we have to set some rules." You couldn't help but whimper at his words, your arousal growing as he took a step away.
"Sit," it was a gentle command, and you did as you were told, taking a seat in one of the two plush chairs that were positioned right in front of his large oak desk. He leaned against the front of the desk, crossing his arms over his chest as he licked his bottom lip.
"I'm a man of business as you know, so," he grabbed something behind him, "there is a short contract."
You narrowed your eyes at the paper, extending your arm wordlessly as he gave it over to you. You skimmed over the first few paragraphs, noting how there were four pages total before you glanced at where he had already placed his signature.
"You signed already?" You asked, a little puzzled as he chuckled, "this is something I'm confident in." Steve shrugged, pushing himself off the desk and placing both of his hands on either side of your chair.
"Take your time, I don't need an answer right away." He says sweetly, his body towering over yours and the only thing you can think of is how much bigger he felt as he was on top of you last night.
You nodded your head slowly, swallowing thickly as he straightened his posture. He was so tall and broad and you had to stop thinking of him like that. At least for right now.
"I'll take a look at it tonight," you replied as he smiled, "good girl."
The praise sent another shiver down your spine as you watched him lick his bottom lip, he knew what he was doing to you, was this a test?
"Let's have dinner tomorrow, same time, different place? You can ask any questions you have pertaining to the contract, how's that sound?" You nodded your head again as Steve spoke.
"That sounds good." You told him with a smile as he extended his hand for you to take, he helped you up before his arms were around your waist again, lips against yours before his hands travelled down to your ass.
"Good girl, maybe this time you can skip the panties?" He purrs against your neck, his lips already nipping at your exposed collarbones as you feel him stiffen against your hip. You gasp, nodding your head, "o-okay."
"Okay who?" Steve eggs, "o-okay, Daddy," you whisper, biting your lip as he slowly rocks your hips against his.
You're just able to get your hand on the outline of his cock as his intercom buzzes, "Mr. Rogers, your one-thirty is here, should I send him in?" A woman's voice interrupts the two of you as Steve groans, rolling his eyes.
He hits a button on his desk harshly, "give me five minutes."
You reluctantly step away from him, taking in the bulge in his pants, wet lips, and slightly mused hair.
"I'm sorry Princess, Daddy's gotta work," he winked, readjusting himself as you gave him a small pout. He cooed at you, pressing a kiss to your forehead, "don't pout, if you're good maybe you'll get a surprise or two tonight." Steve promises as your eyes light up at his words.
"Now be a good girl, okay?" He says, giving your bum a pinch as he leads your out of his office, pressing the button on his elevator.
"Stop at the front desk on your way out and pick up your access key, okay? And text me when you get home, the car's out front for you." Steve says as you nod, clutching the contract tightly in your hands.
He presses a chaste kiss to your cheek before the elevator doors close leaving you alone to your thoughts.
~
You sat in your dimly illuminated kitchen, Netflix playing softly in the background as a cooling cup of tea was at your side. The contract was in front of you as you tapped your pen against it.
Clause 1.0: You will attend all events asked by Steve Rogers assuming he gives you enough time in advance.
That seemed fair, not like you were about to turn down anymore fancy dinners or a trip to the Alps.
Clause 2.0: In return, Steve Rogers will take care of and pay all bills. Any extra cash needed will be provided.
2.1: A credit card with a limit will be available at any time
You stared at the words, it almost seemed too good to be true. You'd struggled with money nearly all your life and for Steve to just take all those troubles away?
Clause 3.0: This is a monogamous, exclusive relationship where no third party shall be involved unless each party involved agrees.
    No problem there.
Clause 4.0: Transportation and housing will be provided through Steve Rogers.
As your eyes scanned through each clause you felt yourself getting antsy, wanting to see Steve again as you chewed on your lip.
You got to the final clause, skimming it over.
Clause 10.0: You are to refer to Steve Rogers as Daddy unless specified otherwise.
Your stomach flipped, thighs burning as you longed to feel the weight of his cock between your legs. You wanted to sign the damn thing right then and there, but you capped the pen, sliding the contract up the table before hopping into the shower.
    Tomorrow would be interesting.
~
Steve had chosen an equally fancy restaurant, you expected nothing less as you walked through the glass doors, led to the table where Steve was waiting for you, phone to his ear as he caught sight of you.
You were wearing the only form fitting dress you owned, but it clung to you like a second skin and you could see his eyes darken as he cut whoever was on the phone by hanging up on them without a second thought.
"Christ, Princess," he groaned in your ear as he enveloped you, "you tryin' to give me a heart attack?" He smirked, taking your head and letting you spin around as you giggled.
"Only the best for you, Daddy." You purred, watching as his jaw clenched. You slid into the seat, Steve climbing in beside you in the booth before his hand was instinctively on your thigh.
Two menus are placed in front of you, the waiter pouring two glasses of water as you skim through the pages.
"I have something for you," you whisper, grabbing the folded contract out of your purse, handing it to Steve as he looks at you darkly.
He looks through it, noting the signature as he shoves it into his blazer pocket.
"It's all official now, Princess," he purrs, tilting your chin upwards with his index finger so you're looking up at him. You can feel the heat coming off of his body, the warmth of his finger under your chin causes you to shiver as his lips hover over yours, "meet me in the bathrooms in three minutes."
With that, Steve slipped out of the booth and gave you one last glance over his shoulder before disappearing from sight. Your heart was racing, nearly beating out of your chest as you tapped your fingers on the table before deciding fuck it and slinking away to the bathroom.
Steve was leaning against the wall, foot against the wall as he cocked his head to the side.
"There's my best girl," he said, extending his hand before pushing you both through the threshold of the toilets.
The door was locked seconds later, Steve whipping around to pin you against the sinks.
"Princess do you have any idea how hard it's been to keep my mind off of you? When I've had you writhing under me, my cock deep inside of you as I fucked you senseless?" His words were a low growl in your ear as you gasped.
"Daddy, fuck, I-I need you." You mewled, pouting and nearly begging him up you looked up at him through your lashes.
"Love hearin' you beg for my cock, Princess." He growls, hand snaking behind your neck as he kisses you roughly. It's teeth and tongue as he nips at your lower lip, tugging it before he's shoving his thick thigh between your legs.
You gasp at the contact, his hard flesh meeting your core as jolts of electricity run through you. You can barely keep your eyes open as his mouth is sucking right below your ear, his coarse beard tickling at your skin.
"Grind yourself over my thigh, Princess. Wanna watch as you ride it." He whispers darkly into your ear. You're shamelessly grinding yourself over his thigh as his hands go to palm your breasts through your dress.
It feels quick and dirty, but it's exactly what you need.
"Fuck, Daddy, want your cock." You whimper before he's stopping all movements to grab your chin and force you to look up at him.
"Oh is my dumb baby already so desperate for my cock, hmm? Then get on your knees and open that pretty mouth of yours." It's a simple command, your breath getting caught in your throat as you're pushed down onto the cool tiling of the bathroom floor.
You watch as he undoes his belt, bulge meeting your eyes before he's freeing his cock.
"Go on, Princess. Put that sweet mouth of yours to work," he purrs, running his thumb over your bottom lip as you wrap your hand around his base.
You pump him slowly, eyes watching him as he lets out a low groan, throwing his head back when you wrap your lips around his tip.
You can taste the salty pre-cum as you take him further, slowly relaxing your throat before hollowing your cheeks as you bob your head.
"Oh fuck—what a good little girl, look so pretty with Daddy's cock in your mouth Princess." He praises, your arousal growing as you feel your panties get wetter as you take him further.
Steve's gripping the edge of the counter as he lets his head fall forward. Your saliva coats his cock, your hands, and your chin as you moan around him. Steve's low grunts and groans fill the echoey bathroom before he's pulling his cock out of your mouth.
"Up. Now." And there's a sense of urgency in his voice that you've never heard before.
You do as you're told, Steve lifting you onto the counter and hiking your dress up, sneering when he finds you wearing panties.
"What did I tell you about panties, Princess?" It's a condescending tone as your head falls forward. He's pinching each cheek with his fingers as he makes you look up at him.
"Good girls get rewards," he speaks, "but bad, bratty girls don't get to cum." He growls, ripping your panties off as you squeak.
He's plunging his cock into you seconds later, the action causing your body to jolt upwards. Steve is merciless in his thrusts as he keeps your body locked with his, your legs wrapped around his torso as he clamps his hand around your mouth to keep you quiet.
"My dumb little baby, couldn't even listen to simple instructions," he grunts, "God your pussy feels so good wrapped 'round me, Princess."
You can feel the coil starting to form, the pressure building as your toes curl inside of your shoes and you want nothing more than to chant more, more, more.
"I know you wanna cum, baby, I can feel you squeezin' me," he whispers huskily, a dark smirk on his lips.
"If only you had listened to your Daddy," he almost snickers as he pulls out, fisting his cock until he's painting your thighs with his cum. It makes you shudder, watching him cum, feeling him cum, as he makes you watch.
He's breathing heavy, panting nearly as he drops his hand and kisses each cheek lightly before sealing his lips over yours.
"Let's get you all cleaned up, Sweetheart." Steve's tone has changed, now sweet and caring as he takes care of the mess he's made. You let, relishing in the gentle touches before he's helping you down from the sink and back onto your feet.
You pout when you meet his eyes again and he taps your nose, "don't give me that look, Princess." He warms playfully before you're making a hmph sound that makes him chuckle.
"How about I take you back to mine, we'll order in tonight, though what I want a taste of isn't exactly on anyone's menu."

"A kiss that is really a bet on a few yen"
Tumblr media
-pairing: dice arisugawa x gn!reader
-genre: fluff
-summary: a game of pocky between you and dice becomes way too intense for its own good
-word count: ~4.2k
Tumblr media
a bet, for nothing more than the couple of yen you had left, lying around in the empty depths of your pocket.
to anyone else, this was a downright ridiculous bet, one not even worth betting on in the first place. it was only a few yen, after all, not much to buy things from even the cheapest stores around. what could one even do with the three coins or so you had forgotten that you carried in the left pocket of your hoodie, all of varying monetary value? it wasn’t worth much if anything.
and yet, to dice, this seemed like just the opportunity he was waiting for. he was eager, a bit too eager for what was nothing more than money one spent on a singular yet small piece of candy from the nearest drug store, to get those coins from you. they were practically calling him. hell, it’d be worth more than what he currently had to his name, which honestly says more about him than you who had taken him up on the offer or even suggested the idea in the first place.
“let’s play,” you announced, placing the three or so coins in the center, right between where you and dice had been sitting and taking out a small box of pocky in the process. he only looked at you with curious eyes, a sort of glint in his gaze.
usually, dice never was one to play for cheap pocket change, which was a generous way of putting it given the amount you guys were betting on. such games were much too boring. there wasn’t enough excitement, no threat of losing everything in mere seconds looming over your head. dice didn’t care for losing or winning such small amounts of money here and there (well, most times when he wasn’t dead on broke that is) since they never did make or break his lifestyle. it was whatever, and winning it never did give him that same sort of thrill he got each time he hit a jackpot in the casino or won big. yeah, he may have won like...a few hundred yen? but what would that even do? such bets were of no interest to dice who sought out that specific sort of adrenaline, the life or death situation. there really was no better feeling than winning big after months of tireless effort and tries coupled with the fact that he may have even lost everything in an instant. betting on such small amounts could even be seen as some kind of an insult to dice who took his gambling quite seriously.
but this time around, whether it was due to his pure, undefeated boredom of being cooped in the house as of late or simply because he was betting against you specifically, dice felt compelled to play along and accept your offer. if he won whatever challenge you’d suggest, then he’d get those glorious one hundred yen coins with a few lint and loose yarn strands thrown in as a gratuitous gesture. truly a one of a kind prize. besides, dice couldn’t quite recall the last time he had made a bet with you, so even if this was so small and worth practically nothing, he was, nonetheless, excited at the prospect. see, betting and winning against someone he was close to was more fun than doing so in a casino, in a room full of strangers he’d probably never see again. he got to victoriously gloat over you, and seeing your crushed face of defeat would surely be worth it (this was all in a loving sense, of course).
“soo,” dice rubbed his hands together, a smirk much too mischievous for its own good playing on his lips. he really couldn’t wait to start. “how do ya’ play?”
“it’s simple, really,” you smirked back in retaliation, almost as if tempting him, able to read his thoughts and begging him to just try and win against you. honestly, this game was already getting too serious for its own good. it wasn’t a life or death situation. you were simply two dumbasses betting on three hundred yen for nothing more than entertainment.
you opened the box of pocky and took one out. “the name of the game is that two people hold on to the stick, one at each end, and they slowly inch forward. whoever breaks the stick first or lets go loses.” then you placed one end, the chocolate dipped one, between your lips, motioning for dice to do the same on the other end, well, unless he didn’t want to. all that meant is that he’d forfeit and you’d win back your yen, but more importantly, it also meant that you got to be the one to gloat about winning against the self-proclaimed gambler, the one who knew all the rules of the game, both inside and out. and that truly would feel glorious.
it was done purposefully, the fact that you left out the most crucial element to the pocky game, what made the pocky game the pocky game, rather notorious. you never did mention the fact that it’d surely end in a kiss if neither one of you wanted to let go, too stubborn to accept a loss, not that it’d take a genius to figure it out. you, however, had only wanted to fluster dice, which really wasn’t an easy task. you bet red would look so good on him, but alas, you’d never know. besides, it’d be quite funny to see his mind racing in real-time, words jumbled and sentences incoherent. that’d be a win in and of itself.
dice, however, quickly caught on to the memo. yes, he certainly was a dumbass at times, but not always. that was only a part-time job of his, next to being a full-time rapper and gambler. it didn’t take long for him to figure out your true intention. certainly you just wanted to kiss him, which you simply could’ve told him straight up. there was no need for this roundabout way (i told you, being a dumbass wasn’t his full-time job, but he still was one). jokes aside, he knew exactly what you had intended on given by that devilish smirk on your face. besides, the thought of a kiss with you wasn’t really the first thing that could fluster him, nor was it the last on that note. he simply didn’t think much of it.
and so, he gave a smirk back of his own, placing the biscuit end between his own lips and staring you in the eyes rather intensely, if only to intimidate you. and it certainly did work to some extent, not that you’d ever let dice know that. it was too late, however, as dice already saw the way your cocky smile faltered for less than a second, which surely only gave him an ego boost.
you began first as a sort of retaliation against the man you loved, irritated at the fact that he had the audacity to think he could win against you. so you took your first nibble forward, savoring the sweet chocolate taste between your taste buds. it tasted just as good as you remembered, but it’d taste even better with victory on the side.
then it was dice’s turn, who moved forward twice the amount you did, which surprised you and caused you to unconsciously break the stick, though it certainly wasn’t your fault, not at all! the sticks were honestly quite fragile, a bit too much in a way, and it was definitely unfair on dice’s end for him to move so quickly. if he did that, then the game would end right before it could even begin! and then where was the fun in that? sure, you’d get that kiss, but at what cost? at the cost of getting flustered and giving dice a reason to tease you? well, that wasn’t worth it at all then. it didn’t sound too pleasant, especially not for your ego.
“heh, that was too easy!” dice grinned, already beginning to gloat at his perceived victory, though he didn’t seem to eat the remainder of the stick.
“this time didn’t count,” you proclaimed, starting to feel the heat rush to your cheeks, whether it was from bewilderment or irritation, that you didn’t know. and it only worsened once dice shot you another cocky smirk, presumably one calling you a sore loser.
“you win some, you lose some.”
“i shouldn’t be hearing that from you of all people.” you could only roll his eyes at his continued teasing. ugh, such a child, not that you’d act any better if you were in his place. well, this wasn’t going according to plan at all. “you’re not even supposed to take big bites. that’s unfair! and against the rules actually.”
at this, dice certainly did look a bit confused and perhaps even somewhat spooked. against the rules? he had never heard of that, though then again, he never did hear about the pocky game until you brought it up a few moments ago. this was all your own doing, however, grinning as you finally got dice where you wanted him, confused and at your mercy. in fact, you didn’t know if it actually was against the rules or not, or if there even were official rules in the first place. you simply didn’t want it to end this fast, to lose your couple hundred yen, but more importantly, to lose to dice of all people. if that made you a sore loser, then so be it. your pride was on the line (a bit much, eh?).
“yep, so we gotta play again, and this time,” you pointed the stick at him, almost in a threatening-like manner, only furthered by the fact that he had an all too guilty look on his face, “you better play fair and not take big bites.”
“y-yea’”
you grinned, “good.”
and so, you took the stick, placing the chocolate end once more between your lips; it was the more delectable part after all. dice quickly did the same to the other end, and the game began once more, this time the two of you concentrating a lot more than before for whatever reason. those coins of yen were looking really nice right about now.
almost like déjà vu, you took the initiative once more and got the first nibble, inching in closer to dice who seemed to pay no mind to you but rather focusing on the stick that was the only thing separating you two. hm, was this a sign that he was growing flustered? that’d surely be a welcome surprise, a delight if you will. i mean, he wouldn’t even look you in the eye right now, so that must be the reason. alas, you knew that that most likely wasn’t the reason, though it certainly was tempting to imagine.
dice responded by inching closer as well, this time actually taking smaller bites than before, ones almost the same size as yours. this particular game was turning out to be a delight already, even if you could feel the heat rush to your face once more for whatever reason. you had been the one to suggest the pocky game to dice in the first place, so why were you the one getting all flustered now that his face was slightly closer to yours while he wasn’t? in fact, he didn’t seem to be showing any emotion, well, other than the typical aloof grin he had on and that oh so adoring gaze. ugh, why did he have to be kinda cute this up close? that was an understatement, however.
trying your best to brush those thoughts away, you nibbled the next bite, trying to calm your beating heart so that dice wouldn’t be able to hear it, if that was even possible. perhaps it would be considering how loud it sounded to you right at this moment. and it only increased in intensity as dice also took the next bite forward.
you felt as if you were reaching your limit, as if you were going to break away from the stick and end the game, losing not only your money but your pride as well after having boasted to dice about how you’d most definitely win against him. you hated, absolutely despised, the very thought of that happening, but you also didn’t know if you could keep this up. at this rate, even if you won, dice would almost certainly tease you about how embarrassed you got and how loud that heartbeat of yours was, so loud one could hear it from space even. so who would be the true winner of this?
thankfully and fortunately on your end, before you could break away, dice did so first, eating up the rest of the stick with that same grin on his face that you had undoubtedly fallen for after being exposed to it for the hundredth time. it only seemed to grow cuter with each passing moment.
“h-hey!”
you didn’t even know why you had said that in the first place, sounding somewhat disappointed that the game had ended so soon. you had won. now the yen was all yours and the permission to rub it in dice’s face, and yet, you somehow found yourself hoping that it’d drag on for just a bit longer. did you possibly want to kiss dice? to have dice kiss you, to feel his lips against yours? even if this wasn’t your first kiss with dice, you still found yourself longing for his touch much more than usual right now. it was an unexplained phenomenon, one that you couldn’t even begin to explain. all that you knew was that you wanted to kiss dice, and badly at that.
however, you, of course, didn’t want to accept that, especially not in the middle of such an intense gambling match. so you tried your best to hide these feelings, this sensation of being too touch starved for your own good, by staring at dice in a rather angry manner, or at least, the angriest you could muster. in all honesty, it was more of a teasing and fun glare, but a glare nonetheless.
“ah, sorry.” dice sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, an action that you found too cute for words, one that was as such that your heart couldn’t help but skip a beat, all the blood and heat rushing to your cheeks, the sensation you had in your arms and legs leaving. now really wasn’t the best time for your love for the man to flare up yet again. but...perhaps you’d consider hearing this apology out. “i wondered what they tasted like, so i wanted to try one.”
hngg...fine, you’ll accept his reasoning.
but just this once!! of course. you’d never want to give him the benefit of the doubt, to give him second chances just because you were fond of him. pfft, that was such an utterly ridiculous thought. that’d never be the reason. it was only because you didn’t want the game to end right then and there, to win your yen back so easily. besides, if one thought about it more, it was technically a tie. you had broken the stick on the first run-through of the game, and now on the second, it was dice. technically speaking, neither one of you won or lost. only a third and final game would determine that.
“fine.” it was nothing more than a mutter, a soft one at that. you didn’t know where all that confidence and charisma you had at the beginning had gone. it must’ve vanished somewhere after all. things simply can’t disappear out of thin air, at least, without turning into something at first. first law of thermodynamics after all. “but if either one of us breaks away, then i win by default.”
“oi! that’s not fair!!-”
you suddenly cut him off by shoving the biscuit end of yet another pocky stick in his mouth, which prompted him to shut up completely. much better.
“oh hush you.”
smirking once more (something you guys seemed to be doing a lot of in this game) at the sight of his pout, you took the chocolate end between your lips once more, this time even more determined to get your kiss from dice um uh i mean to win the bet. yeah, that’s totally the end goal here, not some measly kiss. where did that idea even come from? there was no way you possibly could want to feel dice’s lips on yours, not how they seemed to fit perfectly, how soft they felt, how...surprisingly good he was at kissing. he was quite good, even if he did use his tongue a bit too often, but it still felt nice, especially when he licked your lips, a sensation that you couldn’t even describe, simply reminiscing in that electrical-like feeling.
wait, no!! that was beside the point. don’t lose focus. the main thing here was to win against dice and prove to him that you were a much better gambler than he was. forget the fact that this was some dumb betting idea you had come up with, you only wanted to show off to him. that was what you planned on from the start anyway. kissing dice was only in place for you to win. that was the objective of the pocky game after all. it did end up in sweet, chocolate-filled kisses, but that was the fun of it. really, all that mattered was winning, or at least, that’s what you tried to tell yourself.
shaking your head free from any of those...intrusive thoughts, you focused on the fragile little edible stick in front of you, trying your hardest to ignore the attractive man named dice who so happened to also be in front of you.
what a complete coincidence, i know.
for one final time, you took the initiative once more, moving forward just a bit but nonetheless noticeable. the chocolate on your tongue no longer tasted that good; rather, it felt nothing more than something that you were tasting. it was alright at best right now, though perhaps that was because you were craving something a bit sweeter this instant.
dice moved in closer as well, still seeming as nonchalant as ever, well, as nonchalant as dice could get in the first place.
the two of you continued on like this, worming in closer, able to feel your breaths against each other, but also concentrating on not breaking the stick that was undeniably shrinking by the second. this was the farthest you’d actually ever gone in a game of pocky, so of course, you were starting to feel the heat, in more ways than one might i add.
you were so close, so close to victory. you could practically taste it, and no, that wasn’t the melted chocolate on your tongue. yet, you couldn’t find it in yourself to continue. the only thing on your mind right now was the thought of kissing dice, of connecting your lips and capturing his own in a sweet and passionate kiss. gosh, you just wanted to kiss him already, to feel him underneath you, to simply feel his touch and warmth. you couldn’t wait any longer honestly; you were growing more and more impatient.
yet, you couldn’t find it in yourself to close the gap, to seal the deal and win once and for all. taking the initiative at the end and kissing dice on your own terms? now that was much too embarrassing. it was difficult to think straight right now, to think of anything that wasn’t how good it’d feel to kiss dice. your heartbeat could be heard all the way in your ears, and it was getting much too hot in here, almost suffocating to a degree. you didn’t know if you could handle this warmth anymore, or if you could handle the growing uneasiness and antsy feeling that you were experiencing right now. geez, being this close to dice, seeing him all serious and the like, in the element as when he is while gambling, it was all too flustering.
but just as you were about to break away, to give in and throw in the towel, deciding that gaining bragging rights simply wasn’t worth it in comparison to being flustered when the two of you eventually kissed, dice did what you least expected him to do despite you knowing full well the extent of his spontaneity.
dice closed the gap between you guys, kissing you deeply and finishing the remainder of the pocky that was left hanging in your mouth.
it was a sloppy and wet kiss, rather characteristic of dice as a person as well. his kisses seemed to always encapsulate this sorta feeling, not that you minded all that much, however. it was also a bit rough, though not a lot, only a bit to give it some excitement, not that this scenario could be any more exciting than it already was. and mixed in with the sweetness of the now melted stick and chocolate, the kiss only felt and tasted even better. gosh, this was beyond your expectations. this was way better than what you had imagined in the first place. and right at this moment, you forgot all about the bet, if only for a few seconds, and relished in this kiss. it truly did feel a lot like dice, even if the only reason he kissed you was for a bet for a couple hundred yen. right now, you didn’t care, though when he pulled back, you’d certainly have a much different expression.
“damn,” he muttered, wiping the remaining chocolate around his lips (the one that came from your very own mouth given that deep kiss he just gave you) with his finger and then proceeding to lick it, a rather attractive and hot action mind you, though perhaps you only felt that way because you too felt quite hot right now. “that is good.”
you didn’t even have the guts or the correct mindset to fire back at him, to come up with a good comeback. you could only sit there, a flustered and bewildered expression as you try to come to terms with what had just happened. you wiped your now wet mouth with the back of your sleeve, only feeling the butterflies once more as you saw a few light chocolate stains on it once you pulled away. what...just happened?
“heh, don’t mind if i do.”
dice paid no mind to you as he scooped up your yen from the floor, tossing them in the air a couple of times simply to hear that beautiful clash of metal that he oh so dearly loved. it was one of his favorite sounds after all. but how could he be so nonchalant about this? how could he turn away and look at the coins, sparkle in his eye, right after he gave you a deep kiss out of the blue, as if it required almost no thought out of him? gah, this was particularly frustrating. all this time, the thought of kissing dice was the only thing clouding your mind, the only thing that you could think of that wouldn’t dare leave your head. hell, you even began doubting if you were strong enough to carry out the bet you suggested in the first place! yet, here was dice, thinking nothing of the kiss you had longed for, for so long too (at least, it felt like it). it was only natural to get annoyed.
“hey-”
“oh no,” he cut off, assuming what you were going to say already, even though it was far from correct. “i won this fair and square. i played by your rules too.”
it was a small giggle that erupted from you, one that you couldn’t suppress given how cute it seemed that dice got all defensive over some yen you could find lying on the floor of some convenience store or parking lot. he really was a dumbass, but so were you to an extent. dice really was too cute, and you couldn’t stay mad at him for too long, not like this anyway. he could be a bit airheaded at times after all, and you knew that that kiss really wasn’t supposed to mean much, especially not when it was only because of a bet. really, you were feeling too many emotions at that moment, and perhaps it’d be best for you to rest as of now. this had been quite the rollercoaster, from start to finish.
you took out another pocky stick and began snacking on it, staring at dice rather adoringly as he, just as promised, began boasting about how awesome he was to have won, not that it required much effort in the first place. he was dice, after all, the most notorious of gamblers here in shibuya. every casino must’ve known of him by now, and not because of the fact that he was sort of a popular figure around here. honestly, right now, you didn’t even care that he was bragging, simply content, albeit embarrassed, at the outcome of the game that you had suggested in the first place.
pocky did taste a bit sweeter now with this memory fresh in your mind.

Calculated Risk (Anakin x Reader)
Author’s Note: Here’s the Anakin fic I said was coming out today! Don’t worry, this one is all fluff after the last angst one I posted haha. I hope you guys enjoy! And as always, my tag list/ask box/requests are always open! Thanks so much!
Requested?: Yes, by @cluelessgurl - “I’d love to see a jedi reader coming to Anakin’s rescue during a battle, even though he felt like he didn’t need it but being grateful anyway, just the reader being badass basically lmao. That doesn’t mean the reader doesn’t get a scolding from Anakin after the mission though with some fluff of course.”
Summary: You swoop into battle to help your crush, Anakin, who has vehemently denied the need for any back-up on his mission.
Calculated Risk
Anakin Skywalker x Reader
Word Count: 1.9k
Warnings: None, I don’t think!
“Ready to report a status update.” Anakin’s voice crackles to life on a hologram behind you. Out of curiosity, you turn to see Obi-Wan talking to Anakin.
“Yes?” Obi-Wan prompts, raising an eyebrow. You drift over to Obi-Wan’s side, ignoring the glance he gives you as you train your eyes on Anakin. Yes, you have a crush on Anakin. But it’s not like he actually likes you back, so it’s no big deal.
“A small droid army has intercepted us and we are working our way through,” Anakin says, and you hear blaster shots firing all around him.
“Do you need...help?” Obi-Wan asks, hearing a few grunts from clones who are getting shot.
“Oh, no, we’re fine. I’ve got this mission completely under control, don’t even worry about it.” Anakin chuckles, refusing help a little too much. You and Obi-Wan give each other a knowing glance.
“Anakin, we can easily send a squad-”
“Obi-Wan, I assure you, I can handle this myself. Ahsoka’s here, too, and she would say the same thing. Right, Ahsoka?” Anakin calls out.
“Master, we need your help over here! There’s too many of them!” Ahsoka’s voice comes ‘off-screen’ from the hologram.
“See? We’re doing just fine on our own. Gotta go!” Anakin quickly ends the transmission.
Obi-Wan turns to you, clearly still not convinced by Anakin’s antics.
“It’s obvious that he needs a little help, but he refuses to call in more troops. If I send in reinforcements behind his back, he won’t be happy about it.” Obi-Wan grumbles.
“When has Anakin being grumpy ever held you back?” You laugh.
“Well-”
“What if I could offer a compromise?” You interject again, actually happier with your plan than what Obi-Wan wants to do.
“And what do you suggest we do instead?” He lifts an eyebrow at you and folds his arms. You have a habit of getting into trouble just like Anakin, so he probably doesn’t trust your ideas too often.
“Send me.” You grin triumphantly at him.
“Send...you?” He repeats back slowly, turning the idea over in his mind. It’s not a no, so you continue to explain yourself.
“I’m one of the best Jedi Knights, even you can’t deny that. I can be reinforcements. But I’m still not a squad being dispatched to him so he can’t be mad because you didn’t technically ‘send reinforcements.’” You smirk, knowing you’ve outwitted Anakin. Obi-Wan sighs, but you see the small smile he’s trying to hide.
“You have a fair point...and Anakin is always happy to see you, so he won’t be upset that you’ve been sent.” Obi-Wan thinks out loud.
“What?”
“What?”
“I’m...gonna go now.” You murmur, still not sure if you heard him correctly.
“Okay, stay safe. And...keep Anakin out of trouble, please.” He sighs. You grin wickedly at him.
“You’re telling me that?” You ask.
“That’s true, you egg on his antics... Still, you know the difference between reckless stupidity and calculated risks that need to be taken.” He groans, motioning for you to leave already.
“Sure, Obi-Wan. I’ll see you once I save Anakin and complete the mission!” You laugh, running to the hangar. You climb into your speeder and take off from the cruiser, headed toward Anakin.
~+~
Upon your arrival on the planet, an imperial bomber greets you. You try to maneuver your ship around the blast, but unfortunately, it takes out one of your wings and your speeder starts to go down.
As the ship plummets to the ground, you (as gracefully as possible) flip out of the top of it and land on a nearby rock, not too far from the battle. You watch as your ship makes contact with the ground and blows up. Sigh, you suppose you’ll have to take a ship back with the others.
You slide down the rock you’re currently on and join in the battle, taking down droids as you fight your way to Anakin and his crew.
You spot Anakin fighting near Ahsoka, getting pushed back by the sheer amount of droids trying to overwhelm them. That’s the thing about the empire. They may not have good fighters, but they had a lot of them.
“Anakin!” You call, flinging your lightsaber like a boomerang through the sea of droids. You call it back to your hand with the force and find that you have successfully cleared a path to Anakin. You decide to take your chance while you have it and run to him.
“(Y/n)? What are you doing here?” Anakin grunts, still fighting off droids. You deflect a blaster shot that was aimed at him while he’s preoccupied.
“Helping you, duh.” You make a face, jumping into battle next to him. The two of you work flawlessly together, making quick work of the droids.
“I said I didn’t need reinforcements.” He sighs.
“Oh, don’t worry. I’m not reinforcements. I just came here to see you, of course.” You wink at him, taking down another entire line of droids. Anakin watches in almost-awe as you fight off the droids, much more efficient than the rest of his crew, and maybe even him. He’d never admit that, though.
He watches you do a backflip over a droid, slicing it straight through the middle as you land behind it. This elicits a chuckle from his lips.
“Always one to put on a show, huh?” He smirks, glancing over at you as if he wasn’t just staring.
“Only if I care who’s watching,” You flirt, giving him a quick smile as the two of you fall back into sync.
It’s only a moment later when you speak again.
“Bend down,” You tell him.
“What?”
“Bend down.”
“Why?”
“Just do it!” You groan. Does he always have to question you? You never question his antics.
“Fine!” He crouches down and slashes at the feet of droids for a moment. You grin wickedly and use his back as a stepping stone, propelling yourself forward as you slice straight through a line of at least five droids.
“Gotcha!” You laugh, continuing to have fun despite being in the midst of a battle. Anakin shakes his head at you, but you see the small smile gracing his face.
“Always so dramatic with your fighting,” He tsks.
“Says Anakin Skywalker, the man who always has to have a dramatic entrance.” You tease him. He’s silent for a moment.
“...Touché.”
~+~
Once the battle is over, you look over to Anakin who had made his way across the battlefield while fighting. He’s walking over to you, and he doesn’t look quite happy.
“Before you get mad-” But before you can even finish your sentence, he roughly grabs your wrist and yanks you over to the side of the group that was forming to get ready to leave.
He lets go of you and turns around to look at you, his eyes scanning all over your body. You suddenly feel slightly self-conscious.
“Um...Anakin? Are you checking me out?” You try to tease, but your words seem more shy than bold like you intended.
“Checking you out for injuries, yes.” He huffs, but you see a slight blush rise to his cheeks, making you feel a little bit triumphant for at least a small victory.
“We have a medic for that.” You muse, growing bolder now that you know you’re not the only one slightly flustered.
“I know but- you could’ve gotten hurt, (Y/n). Why did you come out here?” He seems slightly distressed even after he concludes that you definitely didn’t get any injuries.
“I came to...help? Didn’t you hear me when I arrived?”
“I didn’t need the help-”
“Anakin I was literally here. I fought the battle, too, and I saw how many enemies there were. You needed the help.”
“I...I didn’t want it to be you, though.”
You’re hurt by his words. Your brows furrow and you start to turn away from him. If he’s going to be like that, then you’ll just leave. You don’t have to put up with this.
“No, wait! Sorry, I didn’t mean it like that…” He grabs your upper arm to stop you. He rubs the back of his neck nervously as you turn to look back at him.
“How did you mean it, then?” You hum skeptically.
“I...I just worry about you, that’s all. I didn’t want you to get hurt because of me, I wouldn’t be able to take the guilt.” He murmurs, much quieter than he was before. You turn back to face him fully again, stepping just slightly closer to him than you were earlier. His face is downcast to the floor.
“Why?” You ask him, tilting his head up to meet your eye.
“I like you.” He blurts out. This makes your eyes widen in surprise. You didn’t think he’d be so...blunt with it.
But once again, before you can continue he tries to explain himself further.
“I like you, (Y/n), and I don’t want to be the reason you get hurt. I wanted to handle myself so that you...well, you wouldn’t have to come down here and you’d be impressed by me getting it done all by myself.” He explains, almost rambling at this point. You put a finger to his lips, successfully shutting him up.
“Ani, I’m already impressed by you every day. You don’t need to take on an entire droid army to impress me, but I do appreciate the thought.” You giggle, pressing a feather-light kiss to his cheek. You see his face flush again and you smile at the thought of making him feel this way.
You see movement in the background and you look behind Anakin to see some boxes shifting slightly to block the two of you off from the rest of the group.
“What are you doing?” You ask Anakin, knowing that he’s definitely using the force to do that.
“Just moving some boxes in the way of prying eyes so I can do this.” You don’t have time to react before his lips are on yours. You kiss him back eagerly, wrapping your arms around his neck as his arms snake around your waist.
Once the two of you pull apart for air, there’s a goofy grin on both your faces.
“I was wondering when that was going to happen,” You giggle.
“We’ll have to keep this a secret from the Order.” Anakin breathes out, the smile not leaving his face as he takes your features in from up this close.
“I’m willing to take the risk.” You smile at him, kissing him again. He melts into your touch.
“Good, because I am, too.” He kisses you one last time. You finally break away from each other, knowing that staying here too long would cause suspicion.
“See you on the ship, Anakin.” You wink at him and walk toward the boxes, shifting them back with the force as you join the group again.
Anakin trails behind a bit, a dumbstruck look still on his face. You’d tell him to be more subtle, but it’s only Anakin’s squad of clones and you know they wouldn’t say anything. That, and it’s too cute for you to ruin.
Obi-Wan was right about you being the one to take calculated risks that you deemed worth it, and you’ve never been more sure about anything: Anakin is a calculated risk that is more than worth it.

Pretty sure that's normal, right?
Hermittober 2021 -- Day 1 -- Wings -------------------- Etho's finally completed the No Wings Club! Which is great-- except for the fact that he no longer has an excuse not to use an elytra. (How do all the other hermits do it?!)
Or: Etho realizes-- with Bdubs' help-- that his experiences with elytra might not be the same as everyone else's. -------------------- Cross-posted on Ao3-- link in the notes! --------------------
To fly, or not to fly. That was the question.
Etho sighed, shaking his head. It was no use deliberating-- he might as well just get it over with.
After he reached his thousand days in the No Wings Club, he'd stored an elytra in his enderchest, as well as some rockets-- he didn't need it around his and Iskall's base, thanks to Riptide, but the other hermits were a different matter. Visiting Doc had been a hassle while the club was still ongoing, and with the giant mountains that every hermit on the server seemed to be constructing, it would probably be best to get in back in the elytra routine as soon as possible.
He shuffled the wings out of his enderchest, shaking them out before inspecting their condition. After ensuring the wings themselves were flying fit, he moved on to the horrible, awful, terrible straps of leather they were attached to, which were unfortunately also in working order. Sighing, he buckled them on-- he'd tried to pad the things before, even tried to etch some sort of feather falling-silk touch combo onto the interiors to make them magically less painful to wear...it'd worked with the surface-level pain from the constant digging into his skin through his vest, at least.
    "Ah! Etho!"
He turned quickly, gripping the hilt of his sword before relaxing at the familiar sight of his friend's round, googly glasses. "Hey, how's it going, Bdubs?"
Bdubs grinned brightly, leaning against a tree. "Oh, just fine, just fine. Been doing some work here and there on the Big Eyes shopping district-- ran out here to get a few more spruce logs, you know how it is." He pulled out his axe, tapping the butt of the blade against the trunk-- then paused, intrigued. "Wait a minute... are you wearing an elytra?!"
"Yeppers." Etho flexed the faux wings experimentally. Good, the locking mechanism was working. "Got my final medal a few weeks ago, figured it was about time to get back into using this."
Bdubs whistled. "Wow, got 'em dyed and everything already. A few weeks, though? You could wait that long?"
"Well... 's'not like I really need elytra to get around in the savannah."
"I guess." Bdubs shrugged-- then hefted his axe, wedging it into the bottom of the tree trunk. "Where are you headed, then?" Thunk. "Kinda"-- thunk-- "middle of nowhere"-- thunk-- he set the axe down, exhaling loudly. "Alright. Don't chop and talk, Bdubs, it's impolite. Where ya headed?"
Etho shrugged. "Nowhere, really. I was planning on just flying around for a few minutes, getting back into shape, getting used to the whole thing."
A snort. "Sure... getting used to it."
"Yeah, well. I gotta make sure I don't fall in public." Etho shot back, perhaps a bit sharper than he should have-- "can't have the people know I'm not an expert."
Bdubs nodded in mock seriousness-- "right, right. Of course! Gotta keep 'em all fooled." A sigh, a kind grin. "No, I'm just teasin' ya. Go do your flyin', poor old Bdubs'll be here chopping logs."
Etho chuckled, giving his friend a mock salute before grabbing a firework out of his inventory, pulling the start string, and taking off.
Flying fireworks were a pretty ingenious invention-- Etho hadn't come up with them himself, of course, but he couldn't help but admire the design. A string attached to a fire-starting strip pulled through the base of the firecracker in order to ignite the gunpowder-- he pulled the string upwards, avoiding the flame, though it wouldn't hurt him through his standard enchanted gloves. (He'd have to customize those later-- dying them like his standard blue ones should be fine if he didn't come up with a better idea.)
He'd only gone through a few fireworks out of his stack, but he considered that a victory. What had it been, ten minutes? Twelve? Either way, his shoulders were already crying out for mercy; he grimaced underneath his mask, scanning the ground for a good place to land.
Normally he wouldn't have done his first flight around Bdubs, but... well. It didn't really matter-- his friend was probably having the same struggles, what with his flip-flopping between wearing elytra and going without.
He should probably tease him about that.
The forest below was missing... maybe three, four trees compared to before. Etho narrowed his eyes-- Bdubs was striking his axe into a fir next to the small clearing he'd created, completely oblivious to his altudiously advantaged watcher.
    Etho grinned and dived.
    "Aah! Wh-- Etho!"
He skidded to a stop in the grass behind Bdubs, twirling the stolen axe in the air with a snicker. "Did I get ya?"
"Get me? I almost had a heart attack!" Bdubs stomped over, slugging Etho in the shoulder as he swiped at his axe; Etho quickly adjusted so that the axe was held right out of Bdub's reach. "Oh good grief!"
Etho chuckled deviously. "Oh, sorry, I should hold this down for you, I forgot." He leaned down so that the axe was a few inches above the ground, earning a indignant shout from his friend-- and then dropped it, letting out an involuntary "oof" as his back protested at the motion.
Bdubs snatched his axe from the ground. "Hah! Serves you right. Old man Etho having back trouble?" he crowed triumphantly-- then paused, pushing up his googly-eye glasses to look at Etho in concern. "Hey, man, are you okay? Do you need to sit down or somethin'?"
Etho sighed. "No, I... okay, fine." He smacked away Bdubs' arm as the other tried to help him over to the shade of a nearby tree-- thankfully he was still able to stand up this time, at least for the most part. Using the tree to keep himself steady, he unbuckled his elytra before lowering himself to the ground with a pained huff.
"So," Bdubs started, flopping onto the ground next to him. "You okay, big guy? That was kinda out of nowhere."
Etho shrugged, then winced, immediately regretting the painful motion. "I mean, it wasn't out of nowhere, was it? It was my first elytra flight of the season. It's always gonna be a little rough, especially since I've gone so long without using one."
Bdubs frowned, raising an eyebrow. "You were up there for like... five minutes, tops. That shouldn't bother your back enough that you almost fall over."
"I did not 'almost fall over!'"
    "Did too!"
Etho rolled his eyes. "Did not. Besides, it was more like ten minutes, right?"
Bdubs scoffed. "Do you doubt the clock-keeping abilities of the Time King, Etho?"
"Ah, the Time King. How could I forget." Etho deadpanned.
"Hey! Stop trying to get me off topic, you... you... ohhh, I know you're laughing at me, stop that!" Despite his protests, Etho did not miss the fact that Bdubs was laughing along. "But... seriously. Does your back hurt often? Like, have you been doing any heavy lifting lately?"
Etho thought about it for a moment. "Not more than the usual, no. But the pain's been pretty normal, too."
Bdubs looked at him oddly. "Normal? Like, what's normal for you? Like"-- he tapped his leg, seemingly reaching for the right words-- "like, let's say you've got a scale of one to ten, and one is 'I'm Fine,' five is 'I'm pretty uncomfortable and I might have to not, say, fly as much' and ten is, uh. Bad."
"Uhh..." Etho snorted. "Like, daily, or..." after seeing Bdubs' affirmative nod, he continued. "Well, back in Season Seven when I was flying a lot more, it was like, a four on a good day?"
    "On a good day."
"Yeah?" Etho answered, perplexed. "And normally it would be around a five. But nowadays it's been better, what with the No Wings Club. Like, maybe a four or five usually instead of six or seven."
    "Instead of--" Bdubs spluttered. "Etho!"
"What?" Etho laughed. "That's normal, isn't it? Like, we aren't built for flying like Grian or Pearl are. S'just how the muscles work on most players."
"And the-- the other pain?! Without flying?!" Bdubs half-shouted.
Etho pondered this for a moment. "Dunno. Never really thought about it."
"Never really--" Bdubs covered his face in his hands with a groan. "Etho. My friend. My fellow redstone genius." He looked up at him, a desperate expression on his face. "Do you mean to tell me that you... just... feel pain, all the time, and... you think it's normal?"
He stared at him. "Is... is it not?"
Bdubs stared back. "Oh my gosh."
    "What?"
    "You're an idiot."
    "Hey!"
"No, but seriously!" Bdubs jumped to his feet, pacing back and forth, gesticulating wildly in an attempt to convey his extremely confusing point. "You... feeling pain-- it's not-- it's not supposed to be normal. Does it ever stop? Are you ever-- what d-- the-- you--" He pulled up the bottom of his moss-colored sweater, holding it to his face to muffle his frustrated scream. When he uncovered his head, he looked back over at Etho, who was genuinely surprised at how distraught his friend appeared to be. "Did... we've been friends for forever, Etho. Why didn't you ever tell me-- or Beef, or Doc, or-- or anyone?"
"I..." He didn't know what to say. "I guess I thought it was normal. And, like, I didn't want to bother anyone."
"You didn't want to... bother anyone," Bdubs muttered, disbelieving. "About... about... being in pain."
Etho shrugged, grateful his back had calmed down enough to allow him to move without dying. "I mean, yeah. Like, it's not a big deal, you know? I didn't think anyone would care."
"I would care!" Bdubs yelled suddenly, desperately putting a hand over his heart, waving the other towards the Boatem village-- "Doc would care! Beef would care! Hell, if you told any of the hermits 'hey, I'm Etho, my back hurts like I crushed it with one of my anvils, sorry to bother you' I bet you fifty diamonds-- no, fifty diamond blocks they would have helped out in a heartbeat! You can't"-- he laughed, exhausted-- "you can't just say 'no one would care!'"
Etho frowned, staring at nothing in particular. A few leaves fell off a stray oak tree. A squirrel darted through a fallen trunk.
"Well." He sighed quietly, hauling himself off the ground. "I... I guess I just didn't know it was something I needed to ask about." Stretching quickly, he touched his gloved palms to the pine-needle covered floor, legs straight. "If... if you're mad at me, I--"
"Mad at you? I'm-- I'm--" Bdubs' face melted as he walked up to Etho, putting his hands on his shoulders-- then grumbling, taking a piece of scaffold out of his inventory, placing it down, climbing on top and trying again. "There. Equal height. But"-- he took a deep breath. "Etho, I'm not mad at you. I just... I'm worried! You... you're my friend, Etho. I don't want you to be in pain, and-- and it makes me feel awful that I didn't notice you were hurting sooner."
Etho stared at him for a moment, taken aback. "Oh."
Bdubs snorted. "Yeah! 'Oh,' he says, 'oh.' C'mere, stupid." He pulled Etho into a tight, quick hug, then let him go, looking at him with watery eyes. "Oh, you."
    Etho grinned. "Who, me?"
"Yes, you, stupid!" A pause-- then a sigh. "Ah, I'm just kiddin'. Love ya, buddy."
    A snort. "Love you too."
    ...
"By the way, you'd better talk to Stress about this later."
"Uh... nice talking to you, Bdubs, real-- real good talking to you, but I gotta"-- Etho shuffled through his inventory, grabbing an enderpearl-- "uh, gotta go." He lobbed it... somewhere. Hopefully not in a lava pool.
"Uh-huh! Sure!" Bdubs yelled after him, even as he vwoop'ed to his new location. "Yeah, I'll call her myself if I have to! You'd better watch out, I bet she makes house calls!"
Etho chuckled as he started at a leisurely pace towards home. He'd talk to Stress about it at some point. Maybe. Probably. Bdubs' threat didn't hold any water.
    Hopefully.

To Love or To Lose
Tumblr media
Sebastian Stan masterlist - Full masterlist
Summary: Antony convinced Sebastion to take a small vacation to Europe with him. In a mixup of sorts, they end up at the small town bar you work at. There’s a spark between you and Sebastian but they’re only there for a few days before they have to leave again. You’ll be damned if you let Sebastian go that easily.
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Fem!Reader
Word count: 3145
Author’s note: Hi, I wrote this very, very quickly at 1am because this was in my dream last night and I couldn’t get rid of it in my head. Yes, this is fully just a story I thought up for myself to insert myself in. I am Dutch.
Tumblr media
‘We’re lost.’ ‘We’re not lost.’ ‘Just admit we’re lost.’ ‘We’re not lost.’ ‘We can just use our phone-’ ‘We’re not lost!’ Sebastian sighs and looks around while Antony tries to figure out the cyclist map they bought in town. He’s sure they’ve cycled for miles but they must’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere. Now they’re in the Dutch countryside, surrounded by fields and farms. ‘Oh, look at this.’ Antony pulls Sebastian’s attention back to the map. He points at a street sign and then to the street as indicated on the map. ‘There’s a town just a little bit away from here.’ ‘Good, let’s go.’ Sebastian hops on his bike faster than Mackie can fold the map and is almost down the street when Antony joins him. They are surprised by the fact that there is a huge intersection just around the corner. ‘I guess you were right,’ Sebastian admits. Mackie just laughs and presses the button for the traffic lights. They cycle down the street to a roundabout and decide to take the first exit even though it seems less busy. ‘We could have a drink,’ Sebastian points out when they pass a small, roadside café. ‘We’ll have a drink at the next one,’ Antony says, still a bit sour that they’re not where they’re supposed to be yet. And no more than half a mile later they spot the next café. ‘Fine,’ Antony sighs. They cross the street and set their bike’s in their respective places in front of the bar. ‘Must be a bunch of alcoholics in this town if they have two bars in the same street,’ Mackie jokes, knowing that half of the people won’t understand him if they aren’t paying attention.
The terrace is quite full but there’s space. They walk up to a small standing table that has a sign on it. Neither of them can read it but they suppose it means something like “Wait here for service.” They see a tall, lanky man with a beard and messy hair walk around the terrace, delivering drinks to the patrons. He makes eye contact with the two and nods at them to let them know he’s coming. ‘Ik kom zo bij jullie.’ A girl rushes past so fast that Sebastian barely gets the chance to look at her. She carries a tray full of tap beer to a table across the terrace with such ease that it looks like second nature to her. Antony nudges him. ‘What do you think she said?’ ‘Probably something about coming over here to help us?’ ‘Yeah, sure.’ Together, they watch the girl as she stands by a table with rowdy men giving her lusting looks and strange smiles. They’re quite obviously very drunk. Sebastian takes a second to take her in as she stands with her back towards them. She has her hair in a kind of half-up, half-down style and wears a copper wrap dress with white specks on it. From the side, Sebastian can see a tattoo peek out from under her dress. She wears white tennis shoes with creme-colored ruffled socks poking out of them. When she turns around with a smile on her face he can see her red lips and blushy cheeks. She walks incredibly fast for someone her height, though she is a bit taller than the average American woman she still looks quite short compared to other people around. ‘Wat kan ik voor jullie betekenen?’ She speaks in Dutch and then she does a double-take. There’s recognition in her eyes as she speaks again: ‘Oh, sorry. How may I help you?’ ‘We’d like to have a drink and some help with our map,’ Antony tells her. ‘Of course,’ she smiles and looks around the terrace, ‘I have a spot down there on the benches or a few under the parasol.’ ‘Seb?’ He takes a look around and finds a nice spot that doesn’t have too much sun but isn’t quite in the shade either. Plus, it’s a bit more secluded. ‘That one over there. Is that okay?’ She looks down at the paper in front of her and nods. ‘Yeah, that’s alright. Have a seat. I’ll be right there.’ ‘Thank you.’ ‘No problem.’ She runs back into the bar to do whatever she has to do. They sit down and watch her dart all over the terrace, stopping shorty to inform her colleague with the beard of something, and then walks over to them. ‘What can I get you?’  She smiles brightly at the two. ‘A beer please,’ Antony says. ‘Make that two,’ Sebastian adds. She nods. ‘Two beers, coming right up.’ And she’s gone again. Before she reaches the door, she seems to be stopped by a guest whose glass is still full. She talks to her briefly and while the woman talking to her seems very serious, she keeps laughing it off. All while darting short glances at them and then the woman she’s talking to points at them. Of course, Antony takes that opportunity to joke around. He points at himself with a questioning look as he catches the woman’s eye. She shakes her head and points at Sebastian. The girl waves it off and quickly runs inside. It takes less than a minute until she’s outside again and standing at their table. ‘What was all that about,’ Antony asks her as she puts the beers down in front of them. ‘Oh, she’s a regular and she was curious why she heard me talk English.’ ‘So why the pointing?’ Her cheeks turn bright red as she clutches her tray with two hands but the look on her face seems to tell a whole different story than her body language. She chuckles. ‘She knows my love life is a mess and she knows I fall for guys like you,’ she tells the two as she looks at Sebastian, ‘I might have to prepare you for her. She’s quite the woman and she’s tried to set me up with guests before.’ Antony laughs. ‘I’m sure we’ll be able to handle her.’ ‘You’re American, right?’ He nods. ‘I’m not sure you’ll be able to handle her.’ With those words, she walks away with a huge grin on her lips.
‘En?’ The woman looks anxiously excited for your answer. You laugh and wave her off. ‘Heb het niet gevraagd.’ I didn’t ask. ‘Waarom niet?’ Why not? ‘Hij komt alleen voor een drankje en ik ben aan her werk. Ik hoor niet met gasten te flirten.’ He’s only here for a drink and I’m working. I’m not supposed to flirt with guests. ‘Dus? Hij is je type en je bent al bijna een jaar niet uit geweest.’ So? He’s your type and you haven’t gone out in a year. You sigh and shake your head. ‘Ik ga hem niet uit vragen.’ I’m not going to ask him out. ‘Dan doe ik het.’ Then I will. ‘Be my guest.’ She gets up from her chair and limps over to the two Americans sitting across the terrace. You can’t help but watch what she’s going to do and your coworker joins you. ‘Wat gaat Sanne doen?’ What’s Sanne doing? ‘Ze gaat een date voor me regelen.’ She’s getting me a date. He looks over at the two men and looks a bit confused. ‘Wacht, zijn dat-’ Wait, are they- ‘Sebastian Stan en Antony Mackie. De winter soldier en de falcon.’ ‘Maar die zijn toch al veertig ofzo?’ Aren’t those two like forty or something? You shrug. ‘Sanne stond erop. Op deze manier laat ze in ieder geval even met rust.’ Sanne insisted. At least she’ll leave me alone for a while after this. ‘Je gaat ervan uit dat ze niet me je uit zouden willen?’ You’re assuming they wouldn’t go out with you? ‘Antony is getrouwd en ik ben vrij zeker dat ze beter dan mij kunnen krijgen. Er staan letterlijk modellen voor ze in de rij.’ Antony is married and I’m pretty sure they can get better than me. Modells literally line up for them. ‘Ze ziet er anders vrij tevreden uit.’ She looks pretty satisfied. We watch as Sanne walks back towards us with a victorious look on her face. ‘Tom, je moet haar vrij geven. Hij zei dat hij met haar uit zo gaan als ze zou helpen met hun kaart. Ze zijn verdwaalt ofzo.’ Tom, you have to give her the rest of the day off. He told me that he’d take her out if she’d help them with their map. They’re lost or something. You could sink into the ground right there and then. Tom checks his watch and seems to seriously consider it. ‘Ja, ga ze maar helpen. T is toch rustig.’ Yeah, you go help them. It’s not busy. Your jaw drops. Tom can be quite lazy and often keeps you on until closing so he doesn’t have to do everything alone. ‘Je maakt een grapje.’ You’re kidding, right? He nudges you towards the door of the bar, knowing that you’ll have to write down your hours and grab your phone before you sit down with them. ‘Nee, kom op. Dit meen je niet.’ No, come on. You’re not serious. ‘Y/n, maakt niet uit wat er gebeurt, dit is een geweldig verhaal om te vertellen op feestjes. Ga gewoon.’ Y/n, it doesn’t matter what happens, this’ll still be a great story to tell at parties. Just go. Sanne puts her hand on your shoulder as she says it. You sigh and take your loss. Or win. However you want to look at it. ‘Wat wil je drinken?’ What do you want to drink? Tom asks as he trails behind you into the building. ‘Doe maar een biertje.’ A beer would be nice. He nods and gets to tapping while you fill in your hours in the folder behind the bar and take your phone out of a drawer under the coffee machine. ‘Ik haat je.’ I hate you. ‘Tuurlijk.’ For sure. Tom hands you your beer and you head outside to sit down with Sebastian and Antony. You grab a chair and pull it towards their table. When you sit down, both men have an astonished look on their faces. ‘They actually gave you the day off,’ Antony asks, ‘all because your love life isn’t ideal?’ ‘You clearly underestimated how terrible my love life is,’ you joke. ‘Well now you’ve gotta tell us everything,’ Antony urges as he leans back in his chair. ‘I don’t have to tell you anything.’ ‘I’m supposed to take you on a date, so I would like it if you did tell me something,’ Sebastian says. ‘You really don’t have to,’ you tell them, ‘I know she’s a scary woman but she won’t kill you or anything. Besides, you won’t ever see either of us again once you leave.’ ‘That’s fair but this is a great story,’ Sebastian shrugs. You scoff and scoot your chair a little closer. ‘Sure. Now let’s see this map of yours.’
“We found it.” Sebastian sends the text and drops his bag in his room. It takes only a few seconds until you send a message back. “Yay, good job.” He smiles as he sits down on his bed and types his response. “Nah, that was all you. “I wouldn’t be too grateful. I am going to cyberbully the shit out of you.” “Sure.” There’s knocking on his hotel room. He calls for the person to come in, knowing it’ll probably be Mackie and it is. ‘Hey man,’ he says and sits down in a nice chair across the room. ‘Hey,’ Sebastian replies, ‘you got a good room?’ ‘Great. Say, are you going to go back to take our tour guide on that date?’ Sebastian shrugs. ‘I was thinking about it but she’s quite a bit younger.’ ‘That’s what I was thinking,’ Antony says with a nod. ‘But I still think you should do it.’ ‘Hold on, why?’ ‘She said something on the terrace that kind of stuck with me.’ He gets up from his chair and walks over to the window to look out over the busy Amsterdam streets. He looks a bit disappointed by the view. He preferred the small town. ‘You will probably never see her again after you leave.’ ‘What?’ ‘She’s from a small town, she works in the town’s bar, no one has a clue who you are around there. And I saw how you looked at her. So why not take a chance? Best case scenario, you have a fun date. Worst case scenario, you have a great date and are stuck with feelings for a woman who lives across the world. Either way, she’s fun to be around.’ Sebastian is shocked for a second but Antony is spitting straight facts. Y/n was a joy to talk to while she was helping them figure out their next move and what does he really have to lose? ‘You’re right.’
~Two months later~
‘Sebastian, we heard you finally took a trip with Antony Mackie. Do you have any stories?’ The fan looks smug as she asks it like she knows something. Like she knows what he and Mackie know. He adjusts himself in his seat and puts the microphone to his mouth. ‘We went to the Netherlands and when you’re there you have to go cycling. We got lost and Mackie refused to use his phone to look for where to go so we ended up in a small local bar where the waitress helped us find out that we were actually cycling towards the wrong city. We wanted to cycle to Amsterdam and we ended up in Amersfoort.’ And then I fell for the waitress who showed us around the city to make sure we had a good time either way even if we could’ve just taken a taxi to Amsterdam. We stayed longer than we should’ve and I miss her. But he doesn’t say that. He couldn’t. ‘The waitress,’ the interviewer asks in disbelief, ‘she could speak English?’ ‘The Dutch are actually great English speakers.’ ‘Was the waitress cute?’ Sebastian laughs. ‘She was adorable,’ he says, trying to play it off as a joke, an exaggeration, ‘but she was really smart. She helped us figure it out and even helped us to get back to our hotel.’ ‘You didn’t sneak her in, did you?’ ‘Oh, no, no. She just told us what to do and where to go.’
Sebastian walks through his apartment when his phone goes off. He checks the screen to see Mackie’s name pop up and he sighs. He knows what he wants to talk about. The interview went up just an hour or so ago. ‘I know,’ Sebastian says as he presses his phone to his ear. “Just for good measure, I’m going to tell you anyway. Call her.” ‘I can’t do that to her.’ “To her or to yourself?” ‘It’s too much of a distance. Even for long-distance.’ “She told you she’s thinking of moving to Canada.” ‘Doesn’t mean she’ll move here with the probability of a relationship. And a relationship in the spotlight.’ “So you’re going to deny you felt something?” ‘I’m not going to deny it, I just-’ “You’re going to bottle it up until it eats you alive in hopes of losing feelings.” Antony sighs. “Seb, this girl was made for you.” His phone starts beeping. ‘Hold up, I’m getting another line.’ “Sebastian, don’t-” He hangs up and picks the other call up without checking who is calling. He just wanted to get rid of Mackie for bothering him about Y/n again. ‘Hello?’ “Oh, hey.” Sebastian freezes at the sound of your voice coming through the speaker. “I didn’t think you’d pick up this fast. I need some help.” ‘From me?’ “Yes, I seem to have taken a wrong turn while cycling to Amsterdam.” She giggles softly. “And now I’m lost in New Amsterdam.” ‘New Amsterdam?’ He feels his stomach tingle at the words but he isn’t sure if she’s hinting at what she’s hinting at. “No, wait, they don’t call it that anymore. New York.” ‘You’re in New York?’ “Yeah, some dude with a gap in his teeth dropped me off in front of an apartment complex in SoHo but I think I’ve been scammed.” ‘In SoHo?’ He rushes to his window, struggling to open it with one hand. “Yeah, you know anyone who might have a place for me to rest my head until I figure out how to get back?” He finally pulls the window open and sticks his head out to look down and there you stand. You smile up at him and wave. “Oh, there you are,” she says through the phone. ‘I’ll be right down.’ He doesn’t waste another second. He pulls on his shoes on his bare feet, hopping as he goes. Snatches his keys from the table and sprints out, not really caring that he looks a mess. He runs down the stairs, not wanting to wait for the elevator, and bursts out the door. You smile at him and he freezes, suddenly realizing you’re really here. ‘Wow,’ he mumbles, ‘it’s you.’ ‘Hey,’ you say as you bite your lip. He leans in slightly and then Sebastian becomes awfully aware of the prying eyes on the New York streets. He wants to hold you, kiss your lips, but he can’t on the street. Not when you just came here. ‘Come in,’ he says as he starts to usher you inside. He walks you to the elevator and presses the button. It opens right away and the two of you step inside. He notices you study his face and he feels himself getting nervous. ‘What are you doing?’ ‘Trying to figure out if you’re actually happy to see me or just scared that I’m a stalker.’ ‘I’m happy to see you,’ he tells you as he suppresses a smile. You don’t. You smile brightly as you take his hand. The feeling is familiar and yet a little nostalgic after being apart for two whole months. ‘I’m happy to see you too.’ The elevator door opens and he shows you to his door. It’s only then that he notices you don’t have anything with you. ‘Did you jump on a plane like this?’ ‘No, I got a hotel room just in case I read you all wrong when you left.’ You take off your shoes as you step inside, something you also did at your own place when you took him home. He smiles and wraps his arms around your waist. ‘You didn’t’. Your arms slide around his neck as if they’re meant to be there. He slowly dips down and presses a kiss to your lips. ‘Good, ‘cause you’re stuck with me two weeks.’ ‘And after that?’ ‘I either introduce you to my parents or I go back.’ ‘Go hard or go home.’ ‘Exactly.’

She wasn’t sure of the events that led her to the current situation. Or, you know, maybe she was— she wasn’t dumb. No in fact, other than Spencer, she was probably one of the smartest people on the team. Regardless of whatever the reason was, she was still there. She was in a terrible, terrible situation.
What was once a car chase turned foot, had quickly turned into a hostage situation. A standoff between three FBI agents (JJ, Spencer, and Y/N) was cut short when the villain with the psychopathic tendencies forced all three to toss aside their weapons. He then forced an innocent hostage to lockdown the small shop. The innocent woman, who doubled as a mother and the judge who had locked the unsub away, with the other gun, pleaded with him.
“Please, don’t hurt her. I don’t know how they found us, I didn’t call them!” she was nervous, her  hands shaky. Y/N, ironically, could feel the anxiety flowing from her own body. She was supposed to save them, save them all, and yet, here she was barely able to breathe as the potentially deadly weapon was trained on her boyfriend of three years. “Please, just let her go!”
“Melissa, we haven’t finished our little game.” The nasty man sneered at her, still holding the blonde against him while pointing his gun at Spencer. The three agents, shared a look. It was clear between them that they weren’t getting out without setting the man off.
Casey forced Y/N down first, noises of protest coming from both her and Spencer. He had pulled her arms behind her back, more rough than needed, and wrapped her wrists in multiple layers of duct-tape. The tape pulled harshly at her skin, no doubt leaving behind a couple of nasty bruises. JJ and Spencer not far behind her, instead, Casey forced Melissa to do so.
Spencer, trying to relive at least some of the tension, said, “Don’t worry, it's gonna be okay.” While Y/N knew that he was talking to the judge, she felt the undertones of his promise.
don’t worry. it’ll be okay. we’ll get out of this, promise. nothing will happen. She knew that it was  meant for her too.
“Hurry up!” Casey stressed, gun pointed at the stomach of the blonde who was barely holding it together. “Get over here. This is all your fault. I told you it was an accident, that—that Mark was the one who forced me to do it.”
The three tied up cops shared a look. This was bad, really really bad. Casey continued. angry, “But you wouldn’t listen! You just sat up there looking smug and superior. You think you’re so much better than me, but you’re not. You’re just as capable of hurting someone as anybody is.”
With too much force, Casey forced the young blonde to the ground, causing her to cry out as well as causing Y/N to move to her knees. He then pointed the gun back at Melissa, Y/N let out a noise of discomfort before saying, “C’mon, C-Casey, you don’t want to do this.”
A smirk playing on his lips, gross and unattractive, he looked to Melissa and ignored Y/N’s pleas, “Well, here it is, judge, your moment of truth.” In his outstretched hand was the gun that Melissa had previously tossed aside. She took it from the unsub’s hand, Jennifer’s eyes going wide at the sight. “Shoot her. Or i’ll kill your daughter.”
No one moved. No one breathed. No one spoke a word— that is until JJ’s voice rung out, breaking the silence. “Come on. She’s got nothing to do with this, okay? Just let her go.”
“Shoot her!” It was forceful and loud and dangerous all at the same time. Spencer and Y/N were stunned into silence, JJ spoke again, “Casey, she’s not a part of this. Okay?” She was trying so desperately to get everyone out with out any injuries. She was brave and Y/N admired that about her good friend. “You have no reason to hurt her. Just let her go.”
Y/N knew it was wrong as soon as the words passed her good friend’s lips. She watched with an anxiety filled heart as Casey’s whole demeanor changed, he snatched the gun from Melissa’s hands and stomped over to where JJ was sitting. He knelt down to her level and roughly grabbed a chunk of her beautiful blonde locks. Spencer moved forward, like he was going to say something, something that would aggravate the gunman even more. Y/N silently pleaded with him to stop, to just say silent— stay safe.
However, Y/N beat him to it. She didn’t care if the fire was on her. She’d rather that than on JJ or Spencer or an innocent bystander. “Leave her alone.”
Her voice was harsh and threatening all at once. In all the years that Y/N had been on the team, no one had ever heard her talk like that. Then again, Y/N was always cautious enough to never end up in a hostage situation.
It was then Casey pointed his gun at Y/N—Spencer’s heart stopping— “I wasn’t talking to you.” It was clear to the room that he was directing that to both girls. He then, without anymore aggravations, violently released JJ before standing up, gun still trained on Y/N, and backed up to the blonde who had the unfortunate job of working in this shop on this god-awful day.
“Get up! Now!” He pulled the young girl up, tossing her into the counter next to Spencer. Her body flung into the counter with such force it knocked down a mirror, shattering. A gun shot rung out and Melissa and the unnamed worker both yelped— one in fear and the other in pain.
Y/N watched as Spencer slowly moved over, trying to see the young girl, only to be stopped by a shout and a gun in his face. “Do not move!”
If Y/N’s anxiety ridden heart was in her throat before it was now jumping from her mouth and onto the floor. She didn’t understand why she was on the verge of loosing her breath. She had seen a gun pointed at her boyfriend before. It wasn’t anything new, it happened. It came with the job. Maybe it was the fact that she knew there was no getting out of this without injury and pain.
Again, Casey’s focus was on Melissa, “New deal.” Gun in her face, gun in his hand, offering. All three agents watching helplessly. They were out of options. This was really fucking bad. “Now you need to kill one of these three.”
Y/N’s heart calmed slightly as she watched the scared brunette take the gun from the wild man’s hand. She could do this. She could talk her down— this she could do. Melissa turned to the three, gun pointed at the floor before focusing it on Spencer.
“Melissa— Melissa, you don't want to do this. I know you don’t, you can stop this. Just put down the gun. Please—”
“Shut up!” Casey’s voice was raw. It was clear his patience was running thin. He was going to snap. Back to Melissa, he asked, “Who’s it gonna be?”
Her eyes locked with Spencer’s then with Y/N’s, they were sad and scared, “Please. Please, I don’t want to do this.”
“Focus, Melissa!” Loud and angry. The gun shook with his words.
“Please,” she begged, it was no louder than a whisper. Y/N could feel herself loosing hope, maybe she was wrong. Maybe she couldn’t do this.
“Judge, you gotta decide. That’s what you do right?” He was calm, now. Way, way too calm. “Decide life or death with a flick of your gavel.”
The gun in Melissa’s hands moved from Spencer then to the floor and then to JJ only to go back to Spencer in the end. And Y/N was going to lose it. She was ready to do something, anything when the phone rang. Hope flooding her veins again. Help was here. They would get them out, without any damage. Right?
Y/N let out a breath, one she wasn’t aware she was holding, when Spencer spoke. His voice providing her with a much needed feeling of ease. “Answer it. Casey, answer it.”
“Shut up!” Melissa’s gun was still trained on Spencer as Casey yelled at her, “Pull the trigger!”
Melissa cried out, terrified. Y/N opened her mouth, the words flowing out before she could stop them. “Please, please don’t do this.”
“Shut up, everybody, shut up!” Casey was nearing his end, he was snapping. He lunged forward, ripping the cord from the wall, the insistent ringing stopping with it. “Focus, Melissa! Pull the trigger.”
JJ shared a look with Spencer then looked to Y/N, before trying one last time, “Casey, if Melissa won’t play, I will.” The beautiful blonde moved to her knees. She was determined to take the heat off Spencer. She couldn’t lose her best friend— she couldn’t let Y/N loose the love of her life.
Jennifer was standing now, everyone sharing a worried look. Casey trained his gun on JJ, moving it from Melissa. Small victories.
“Truth or dare, that’s your game, right?” The beauty shrugged, like it was nothing off her back, “I’ll play.”
“JJ—” Y/N started, but cut herself short when Casey pointed the gun at her again. “Melissa, the weapon— give it, now!”
“Casey,” Spencer began and Y/N felt her eyes close, hope slowly draining away again, ‘I know what its like, to be wrongly accused, sent to prison for a crime you didn’t commit.”
Casey laughed, though no humor was held behind it, “Bullshit. You went to jail?”
Spencer nodded and Casey laughed again, “Yeah, I’d like to see that, pretty boy.” He then moved over to JJ and Y/N’s mind was running a mile a minute trying to fix this. Trying to find a way to get them to safety. Trying, trying and failing.
“Alright, agent. . .”
“Jareau,” she supplied and Y/N could hear the underlying fear.
“Agent Jareau,” he repeated, testing it on his tongue, “truth or dare?”
“Truth.” she was calm, but Y/N could tell that her good friend was just trying to put on a brave face.
“If I think you’re lying or stretching the truth in the slightest, I’ll kill him.” His gun was pointed at Spencer again and Y/N felt herself gasp loudly. JJ nodded solemnly and the wild man continued, “you ever shoot anybody before?”
“Yes, I have.”
He was sick; he laughed, “You enjoy it?”
“No.” Y/N felt like she was going to throw up. She couldn’t, this was too much. She couldn’t believe this was how her day turned out. She watched with a heavy heart and tearful eyes as Casey’s face morphed into anger. She knew JJ had messed up. He turned, annoyance heavy on his shoulders. Before any of the highly trained agents could make a move, Casey pointed the gun in Spencer’s direction and fired, screaming out. “Liar!”
Both Y/N and JJ gasped, but Y/N was the only one to yell out. “No!”
Panicked, JJ’s wide eyes moved from Spencer’s uninjured form to the man with the gun, “No, no, no. I’m not lying. Okay? I’m not lying. The people I shot, I had no choice, but I did not enjoy it. I didn’t. Okay, you asked and I-I told the truth. Okay, I told you the truth, so, uh— now, it's my turn. Right? That’s how this game is played, we take turns. Truth or dare?”
Casey slowly lowered his gun and Y/N watched helpless. “Truth.”
“What’s it gonna take for all of us to walk out of here alive? For this to end peacefully?”
Casey scoffed and trained his gun on JJ again, angry, “I ain’t going back to prison. My turn. Truth or dare?”
“Truth.”
“I want you to say something you’re afraid to say, that you’d never tell anybody. And you better make it good, ‘cause if it's not, it's gonna be the last thing you ever say.” Y/N was out of hope. She could feel her walls breaking down, she could feel the few tears that had escaped her closed eyes. The gunman continued, shaking his weapon, “What’s it gonna be?”
JJ shook her head, voice watery. “There are only four people I trust in this world.”
“Boring.” He had snapped. This was it, his breaking point; he moved the gun back to Melissa and pulled the trigger, the bullet entering her leg. She yelled out and collapsed to the ground. Casey brought the gun back to Jennifer, “Next!”
“Um. . . My. . .” she was struggling, “My baby I lost, I, um—” Y/N’s eyes opened, trained on her friend, watery and blurry. “I wanted to name her Maggie.”
“Wrong!” He wanted more. He wanted her deepest secret, “Come on, you can do better than that!”
“Casey.” Spencer’s voice rung out, warning.
“Shut up!” The dangerous man rushed her then. His hand attached itself to JJ’s arm and shoved her down to her knees with force, gun eye level to the blonde, “Last chance. Something you would never say aloud, not even to your partners here. Your deepest, darkest secret. Impress me or I kill him.”
“JJ,” Y/N’s broken voice was no louder than a whisper as she begged her friend to save her boyfriend, “please.”
The blonde shared a look with both of her friends as Casey yelled again, “Come on!”
JJ’s eyes and voice were watery as she spoke. “Spence, I, uh, I’ve always loved you.”
It was like a punch to the gut. She felt like she was a balloon and all the air had escaped. She didn’t believe what she was hearing spill from her best friend’s lips. In a broken whisper, Y/N asked, “What? JJ—”
Spencer had turned to the blonde, his face that once held anger and confusion now held a look that Y/N couldn’t quite place. The blonde continued on, crying, ignoring Y/N’s cries, “And I was just too scared to say it before. And now things are just really too complicated to say it now, because I have Will and the boys and you have Y/N— I’m sorry, but you should know.”
Y/N’s blurry eyesight shot to her boyfriend, trying to see his reaction. And what she saw broke her heart in half. He smiled. He fucking smiled. He had a fucking smile on his lips and he was looking at JJ how he usually looked at Y/N. And maybe that was what hurt the most. Seeing the far away, lovestruck look in his eyes.
Casey broke the heavy silence, his laugh was loud and bitter, gun lowered, “Hot damn. That’s what I’m talking about. Now those are some last words right there, but not good enough to save your life.”
Casey leveled his gun on JJ’s forehead again, ready to pull the trigger. Y/N cried out, eyes slamming shut, she couldn’t watch this. Sure, her best friend had just admitted to having feelings for her very own boyfriend, but she was still her best friend.
A gunshot filled the room. Y/N yelped, crying harder, opening her eyes after hearing a thud. Only, JJ was fine and Spencer was holding a gun, panting, keeping eye contact with the aforementioned blonde. Spencer had moved to cut his girl free first, helping her stand. Then he moved to the blonde who had just confessed her undying love for him.
The brokenhearted girl watched as her boyfriend carefully cut JJ free, an unspoken conversation seemed to be flowing through them. Spencer had a look of peace on his face as Jennifer turned to look at him. It was like they had forgotten that Y/N was in the room, heart breaking.
Spencer opened his mouth, to say something. To fix it, Y/N hoped. But before he could get the words out, the back door burst open, their team rushing in, and the spell was broken.
The two moved away from each other. Y/N watched as how her boyfriend seemed to remember she was standing right there. She watched as he turned to face her, reach for her. She watched as he moved to comfort her.
But before he had the chance, she ripped away from his gaze and left him standing in the small shop. Left him standing in the place where their relationship died.
Six weeks had passed. Six weeks of sitting across from one another. Six weeks of stolen glances and regretful eyes. Six weeks of Y/N wishing, longing for Spencer. Hoping that he would come back to her and just say he was sorry.
Sorry for pushing her away. Sorry for giving the heartbroken girl the impression that JJ was his girl. Sorry for making her feel like she was a second choice; for acting like nothing ever happened; for everything.
She he’d been held up in her apartment, surrounded by all the things that reminded her of the pretty boy (apart from work, she barely left. and to say the team was very worried about the young girl was and understatement). Ironic, right? All she wanted was to forget about the curly haired boy and yet, he was all that plagued her mind.
Y/N was surrounded by boxes, some taped shut and marked with what was inside; others only half filled, things hazardously sticking out the top. The memory that all the packages brought was a stab to her heart and a kick in her stomach. How dare they still be there; unmoved and happy.
The once happy couple, who were together for almost four years, was all set to move in together. Y/N could almost imagine Spencer in the new, bigger and better, apartment all by himself. She could see him waking up before the sun and pouring himself a cup of too sweet coffee and re-reading books he had already read. She could see it all.
She hoped it was lonely, that it held the same sadness that she was feeling. She hoped that he was just as miserable.
She knew he wasn’t though. He couldn’t be. No, he couldn’t be. . . right? He had JJ now. He was happy now; he finally had what he always wanted— the pretty blonde girl that he had been in love with since day one. Day one of the BAU, day one of friendship, day one of birth— the girl that he was always meant to be with. Y/N wasn’t stupid, she knew how much she paled in comparison to the very beautiful girl.
She could only imagine all the times that Spencer had wished that it was Jennifer Jaraeu instead of his loser of a girlfriend. She imagined all the fantasies that had to be playing in his mind every time they kissed, every time they laughed, every time they touched, every time they made love.
Maybe that was what hurt the most; knowing that he had always wanted it to be her. The blonde. The beauty. The brains. The everything Y/N was not.
A very loud ringing broke Y/N away from her intrusive thoughts. Again. She had thrown her phone across the room (not literally, of course. She had just dumped it on the counter along with everything else that she didn’t want to look at). She knew who it was; JJ. It had to be— everyday for the past month she had been calling, trying to apologize, explain, salvage what was left of their friendship. Jennifer had left voicemail after voicemail and text after text, trying to get the heartbroken girl’s attention.
It wasn’t like Y/N was completely ignoring her old friend—no, she wasn’t that much of an asshole—, she would read all the texts received and listen to the messages (which actually, when she thought about it, that was probably even worse. maybe she was the asshole she tried so hard not to be).
She even talked to her during cases (of which there had been two since the incident), but the second JJ had brought up anything to do with Spencer or what had happened, Y/N retreated into the shell she had created for herself. Though it wasn’t a perfect situation, it worked. It worked for her and that’s all that mattered.
What she didn’t expect though, was a knock at her front door. She had considered ignoring it and letting whoever was at her door think she was out or asleep. Or literally anything else that would excuse her not moving from her pathetic slumped position.
The knocking sounded again before his muffled voice flowed through the door, stopping her heart. “Y/N, I know you’re in there.”
She sighed (he did too). Her heart was in her throat (so was his); she hadn’t seen him outside work for longer than she cared to admit. She stood and felt her body drag her to the wood that separated her and her pretty boy.
And before she knew what was happening, Y/N was swinging the door open, Spencer was standing before her— distraught.
“Why do you look like that?” She asked, deadpanning. There’s that asshole bit rearing its ugly head again. It wasn’t fair that he looked so strung out, he did this. This was his fault. Her hand was resting on the door, barricading him out and her in.
“What?” Genuine confusion crossed his face and Y/N almost felt bad. Almost. “Y/N, we haven’t talked in weeks.”
“We talk at work.” Short and unforgiving. He sighed at her words, running a very gorgeous hand through his curls, breaking apart a few. A part of Y/N, a very, very small part, wished it was her fingers pulling apart his crazy mane. She missed how soft his hair was, the way he smelled. She missed how with just one touch she could feel all of the stress leave his body. She missed how he looked at her. She missed it all and she hated herself because of it.
“Don’t be so obtuse.” The regretful boy started and Y/N could feel her heart breaking all over again, “I mean, for real. . . Y/N, I miss you— I miss us.”
“Yeah, and whose fault is that?” A knife to his heart, she could tell. Good. He deserved this; he deserved to hurt just as much as he had hurt her.
“That’s not fair, she—”
“No,” the heartbroken girl began, a sadness in her voice. “you don’t get to decide what’s fair and what’s not— especially when it comes to my feelings, Spencer Reid.”
He was still standing in the hallway, eyes begging to be let in. The pleading didn’t go unnoticed; maybe that’s why she found herself opening the door and dropping her arm, watching as he moved inside.
He was still her boy. Her beautiful boy. No matter what he or JJ had done, Spencer Reid was still undeniably hers. No matter what she was still under the spell of his gorgeous browns.
The sad boy followed her into the living room, taking in the scene. He felt his breath hitch as his eyes swept over all the boxes and the mess that covered the once happy apartment. He could just about throttle himself; he couldn’t believe he had let this happen. That he had let it get this bad— he was such a fucking idiot.
Y/N watched as his curious eyes took in everything before him, committing it to his never forgetting memory. She knew that, regardless of anything, he would always come back to this moment. She knew that he would always blame himself. Spencer Reid had such a big heart and that was probably his one and only fault. Regardless of any hurt he may have caused her, she knew deep down that he hadn’t meant to. He would never intentionally hurt anyone, and maybe that’s why she asked her next question:
“Why are you here, Spencer?” She had pulled his eyes back to her.
Swimming in regret, he said, “I want to fix this.” Y/N had begun to shake her head and opened her mouth but he cut her off, continuing, “Please. . . Y/N, tell me how I can fix this.”
“I-I. . . Spencer, I don’t know if you can.” Heart breaking more than she thought possible.
Then, he did something she would’ve given her life to never see.
Spencer got down onto his knees, now eye level with the girl on the old couch. He placed a hesitant hand on her knee and squeezed. When Y/N met his gaze, she felt her heart break its final piece. His eyes were glossed over with unshed tears and when he spoke his voice was wet with the cries he was trying so hard to push down. And Y/N hated it.
“Y/N. . . please,” he was begging. Begging to be heard, to be forgiven, for her. Just begging.
Against her own wishes, Y/N’s hand reached out and pushed back the hair like she had been wanting to since he showed up at her doorstep. “Spencer, I— There’s things we’d have to talk about— questions I have. I-I can’t just jump back in, we have to talk about—”
“Then ask me.” The crying boy rushed out, sniffing. “Ask me anything.”
Y/N sighed. Did she really want to do this right now? Could she handle this?
“Do you love her?” It spilled from her lips before she knew what she was asking. She didn’t regret it.
His answer spilled from his too, “Yes.” Maybe she did.
Tears spilled from her eyes and she struggled to hold down a sob. It came out as a watery laugh and she stood up, forcing his hands off her body. She closed her arms around herself, another barricade from the boy who refuses to stop breaking her heart into a million little pieces. He stood up too, reaching a hand to connect them together again but decided against it, too afraid of being rejected.
Her mind was running a mile a minute. She was kicking herself for trusting a man who was so clearly into another woman— a married woman. She was so angry that he led her on for so long. She wanted to throttle him; she could’ve too, if she really wanted to. As much as she wanted to, she knew her body would never do it. As angry as she was, her body was still irrevocably in love with Spencer Reid.
“Then why are you here?” It was dangerous. She half wished he wouldn’t answer, she didn’t know if she could handle the answer.
His reply was slow to start, she wondered if he had even heard her, “. . . Because, I love you, too. I love you differently.”
“What?” She was tired. So, so fucking tired.
She felt his hand place itself on her shoulder, she didn’t react. She didn’t move, didn’t lean into it. She just froze and waited for his response. Spencer surprised her for a third time. His hand moved down to her elbow, turning her around gently before starting his monologue. Her eyes stayed glued to the ground as he spoke.
“Y/N, I’ve known JJ for over 14 years. When I first met her, sure I wanted her to notice me,” he paused to laugh before continuing, “I even tried to take her on a date one time. . . she ended up inviting Penelope. . . I was mortified. . . that’s not my point. Hell, I don’t really know what I’m saying. I tried for so long. I tried to get her to notice me, but then she met Will and then she had Henry and everything got so complicated. And I realized, Y/N, that I had to let her go, and then I met you and everything changed.”
Y/N’s eyes finally met his brown ones. She echoed him, “Everything changed?”
Sappy and clumsily, he laughed, “Yeah. Y/N, everything— everything changed. Suddenly, instead of wondering what Jennifer thought I was thinking about you— thinking how to talk to you, what you liked, if you liked me. God, I was so into you back then. . . I still am. I won’t lie to you, Y/N, I never have and I won’t start now. Yes, I love JJ. I think I always will, it’s just different. I love her, but I’m in love with you. And I always will be, I-I mean, you’re my girl.”
During his confession, Y/N had moved closer. She had hesitantly placed her hands on his chest, where they belonged— she realized. “Spencer. . .”
His eyes were soft as they gazed down at her. They held love— the love that she had seen focused on JJ all those weeks ago. He brought a hand up to her face, thumb tracing her cheekbone. It felt like it was forever, them just looking— gazing, falling back in love. Then, she watched as her boy started, very, very slowly, to lean down. She felt his lips just barely brush against hers, his breath fanning her face as he spoke. “Y/N, please.”
And that was all that it took. The desperation in his voice was what made her finally, finally, connect their lips. It was just as wonderful as she remembered. His lips fumbled lazily against hers; she could feel the love though the sloppy kiss. He had brought his other hand up, fisting her hair into a messy bunch. Her hands pulled him closer, her lips spreading as she felt Spencer’s tongue dart across her lips, asking to be let in. His name fell from her lips in a hungry manner, she wanted him. She needed him. The only sound in the small apartment was their moans and the noise of them reconnecting. In between kisses, Spencer managed to sneak in the few words Y/N was sure she’d never tire of hearing.
“I. . kiss. . love you. . . kiss kiss. . so much. kiss. . .Y/N.” She had smiled against his lips, feeling like everything would be okay. While she knew they had more than enough healing to do (both together and apart), she also knew that she wasn’t going to lose him anytime soon. And that was all that mattered, because the rest would figure itself out.

Heaven Sent; Part 7
Jin x Reader
Genre: Angst, hurt/comfort, fluff
Warnings: None to note.
Tumblr media
Jin did not expect himself to be in this position eight months after the death of his best friend. He hadn’t expected to even lose his best friend in the first place, but he really didn’t expect to have developed such strong feelings for the widow that he left behind either.
He thought that for the circumstances, everything was going as well as it could. You and Jin had been taking things slow but they were still moving along well, Aera was doing good and didn’t seem to mind the increased amount of time that he was spending with the both of them, and Jin wasn’t feeling as guilty about having feelings for you anymore. Well, at least until you started ignoring him.
“It’s been a month and I have no idea what the hell I did,” Jin groaned as he threw himself down onto the sofa at Hobi’s house, where he had met up with his friends for their annual movie night.
“Have you tried talking to her?” Jimin wondered.
“Did you not catch the part where I said that she’s been ignoring me?” Jin scoffed. “And it’s messed up because we were doing good, or at least I thought we were.”
“Well, maybe you should try a little harder,” Jungkook suggested. “It’s obvious that she makes you happy hyung.”
“She does but I can’t and I won’t push her,” Jin stated firmly. “She has enough going on, I can’t push my shit onto her.”
“Hyung, you having feelings and communicating those feelings wouldn’t be pushing them onto her,” Namjoon lightly chastised. “Your feelings are just as valid as hers.”
“But she lost her husband.”
“And you lost a bestfriend,” Hobi interjected. “I know you’re trying to be considerate but don’t discredit your own feelings hyung.”
“It’s different,” Jin tried to say.
“Different relationships maybe, but the pain is the same,” Jimin shrugged. “Maybe that’s what it is. Maybe she’s just now realizing what her having feelings for you means.”
“But that’s still not fair because Jin hyung is hurting the same too,” Jungkook spoke up.
“Have you been honest about your feelings with her hyung?” Hobi questioned and they all looked at Jin.
“Yeah, but I always hesitate because I don’t want to scare her,” Jin confessed. “And hell, I’m still conflicted about my feelings myself. I really like Y/N-ah. I love spending time with her, she’s funny, she’s so caring, and she’s gorgeous but I can’t help but to feel like I’m sneaking behind my best friend’s back.”
“Hyung, I’m gonna say something and I don’t want you to think that I’m being disrespectful or anything but you need to hear it, alright?” Namjoon said and Jin nodded. “You cannot continue to put the feelings of someone who’s not even here anymore over your own. You deserve to be happy and if Y/N is who makes you happy and she feels the same way, then you have the right to pursue that.”
“But,-” Jin tried to say but Hobi cut him off.
“But nothing,” Hobi cut him off. “Joon-ah’s right. I know it’s hard hyung but from what you told us about him, I truly don’t think Hae-il would be completely against you seeing Y/N. Especially if it meant you caring for her and Aera in his absence.”
“You think?” Jin wondered and they all nodded their heads.
“You have to talk to her hyung,” Namjoon said. “If for nothing else, then for closure for both you and her.”
“Agreed,” Jimin and Jungkook replied at the same time.
“You guys are right,” Jin sighed. “I’ll talk to her. I just have to....figure out how to do it.”
..................................................
Month eight was admittedly the worst you had felt since Hae-il had first died, and that was saying a lot. Although it was grief that you felt with Hae-il, it was guilt you were feeling with Jin.
The rational part of you knew that you shouldn’t be avoiding Jin, and you truly didn’t mean to let an entire month pass without talking to him about things. It was just.....easier to continue to put the conversation off rather than face the uncomfortability of having to tell him that you thought the two of you should just go back to being just friends; especially when that couldn’t be further from the truth.
In order to help get your mind off of things, you had been trying to make sure you spent extra time with Aera. Although she hadn’t explicitly said anything about missing Jin, you knew that she probably did. Also, you just felt like you needed to.
“Can I go play Mommy?” Aera asked excitedly, bouncing up and down as she pointed to the playground. The two of you had been on a walk to go get ice cream, but Aera got distracted by the shouts of the other kids playing.
“Sure, but only for a few minutes and then we’re gonna go get ice cream, alright?” You told her and she nodded happily before running off.
“Be careful!” You shouted after her with a small smile, moving over to a nearby bench and sitting down to watch over her. You had only been sitting down for about two minutes before your phone started to ring, so you pulled it out of your pocket and smiled at seeing Yoongi’s name.
“Hello?” You answered.
“Hey, quick question and please say yes,” Yoongi begged, making you laugh. “You backed up the design plan of that house that we’re working on on your computer right?”
“Yeah, I did,” you said. “But wait, wasn’t Tae supposed to do it?”
“He was but he didn’t and I needed it,” he huffed. “So thank God you thought to back it up because I sure as hell didn’t.”
“Well, you know the password to my computer so knock yourself out,” you shrugged.
“10 and 7, I’m in,” he announced victoriously. “Thanks Y/N-ah. What are you up to?”
“I was taking Aera out for ice cream but she saw a playground and you know how that went,” you giggled. “So I’m sitting on a bench watching her.”
“Oh yeah, you’re never gonna be able to get her to leave,” he chuckled. “Are you there by yourself?”
“Yoongi,” you groaned, knowing exactly what he was insinuating.
“I’m just saying Y/N-ah, I wish you’d just talk to that man already,” Yoongi told you. “You’re not making things any easier by avoiding him.”
“I know but I just can’t have that conversation with him,” you admitted. “Feels like I’ve had way too many hard conversations this year.”
“That is very true but you need to do it,” Yoongi replied. “You’re both grown adults and avoiding him would be childish. Besides, we all know the real reason why you won’t talk to him.”
“And what’s that?”
“You still have feelings for him, you just feel bad for having said feelings,” Yoongi stated. “And I could still deck your punk ass mother-in-law for coming at you like that.”
“Yoongi!” You chuckled. “She had a point.”
“Maybe so, but questioning the love that you had for her son wasn’t the way to go about it,” he scoffed. “So like I said, I could still deck her.”
“As tempting as that is, it wouldn’t solve anything,” you giggled.
“You’re right. You going and talking to Jin would do that,” Yoongi said.
“Yoongi, you know I can’t,-” you began to repeat for what felt like the 1000th time but you were interrupted by a shrill cry of your name.
“Mommy!!!” You heard Aera’s voice scream and your heart instantly leapt up into your throat.
“Yoongi, I gotta go!” You said, hanging up the phone and jumping up, sprinting over to the playground and leaping down to the sand. You looked around wildly, until another cry of your name made your head whip over to the left where Aera was laying underneath the monkey bars.
“Oh my gosh Aera, are you alright?!” You questioned as you ran up to her, falling onto your knees as you lifted her up and hugged her to your chest.
“I-I f-f-fell off o-o-of the mon-monkey bars,” Aera sobbed into your shirt.
“Does anything hurt really bad?” You asked her as you began to check her limbs, silently sighing in relief when you didn’t see any signs of major injuries or blood.
“N-Nooo,” she drawled and you knew then that it was probably just the scare of falling that was hurting her more than anything else.
“Oh Love, it’s ok,” you tried to soothe her, rocking her gently in your arms. “You’re not hurt too bad so it’ll be alright.”
“I want uncle Jinnie,” she sniffled and you froze at her words, not expecting her to say that. However, you quickly recovered.
“How about we get some ice cream like we planned on doing earlier?” You suggested. “You can get two scoops.”
“Really?” She wondered as she looked up at you with teary eyes, and you nodded with a small smile as you reached up to wipe those tears away.
“Come on Love.”
..................................................
The amazing thing about kids was that it was relatively easy to redirect their attention whenever you wanted to. This time, the medium cup with two scoops of strawberry ice cream did the trick for you, as Aera happily sat at the table with you in the small ice cream shop eating her treat.
“Feeling better?” You wondered after taking a slurp of your own vanilla cone, chuckling at how eagerly Aera nodded her head in response.
“Yeah, it was scary,” she confessed.
“It was,” you agreed. A few seconds of silence fell over the two of you then, with Aera eating her ice cream and you trying to figure out how to ask her the question that had been floating around in your mind since she fell off of the monkey bars.
“Aera, can I ask you a question?” You wondered, waiting for her head nod before continuing. “Do you miss Jin?”
“Yeah, a lot,” she replied with no hesitation, which instantly made you feel bad. “I miss seeing him.”
“I’m sorry that you haven’t been able to see him more, it’s just....complicated,” you tried to explain to her.
“Grown up stuff?” She guessed, which made you laugh.
“Yeah Love, grown up stuff,” you confirmed.
“He reminds me of Daddy,” Aera admitted quietly and your eyes immediately began to get misty with tears.
“Really?”
“Yeah,” she said. “He plays with me and makes me laugh and makes me feel special, like Daddy used to.”
“He does,” you smiled. “Aera, would you mind if Jin was around a lot? Like, all the time?”
“Like how Daddy was?” Aera wondered and you shrugged.
“Kind of,” you nodded.
“I would like it,” she stated firmly. “He’s good and makes us laugh and helps us be happy.”
“He does, doesn’t he?” You sighed, because hearing your daughter’s opinion was the exact push that you needed. “Alright Love, I’m gonna fix it so that he can keep making us happy, ok? I promise.”

KELLY SEVERIDE
Chicago's IT Lawyer And Girlfriend
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Requested: yes
Prompts: none

Authors note: /
"I hate this." You whisper sleepily while fighting the urge to yawn. With your head against the window you scan the area in front of you.
So much press.
"I have to go there and give them a 5 minute long statement at 6 in the morning."
Kelly Severide doesn't fear the press and easily manoeuvres his car onto the free parking space, reserved for Chicago's finest law fighters only.
The muscled arms of your boyfriend easily turn off the car and wrap around you.
Bathing in your boyfriend's cologne is just the right thing you needed to be able to fight through the day.
"You got this. You're Y/N Y/LN." You snort at his words. They have a drop of mock in them but you know what he really means.
Ever since this case got out in the public, where you're representing an Interpol agent in a case gone wrong, you've been the news' favourite plaything.
Chicago's IT lawyer, they call you. Y/N Y/LN now holds serious weight. Luckily for you, you managed to snatch the heart of this hardworking lieutenant before you became so badass at fighting the law.
"I wish we can go eat after your shift is over," You admit. "But the press has been on my tail since this thing blew up."
Kelly isn't a stranger to the news outlets, he had his own share of being in the centre of their attention.
The kiss he gives you melts you in a puddle. It makes you weak in the knees like always and suddenly your stoney facade crashes and you become Y/N. Just Y/N.
"Crush them babe." Kelly encourages. "I'll be watching the news."
"Channel 9?"
"The firehouse watches you on Channel 6?" He tells you. Kelly just found out that his girlfriend is more in the spotlight then he ever thought possible for a hotshot lawyer.
"No, no, no... Channel  6 is rubbish. They make things up." You're quick to explain. "And what's even worse... They edit me to make it seem like I'm a heartless monster. I don't wanna be a heartless monster Kelly!"
"Okay... So channel 9 then?"
"Yes! That way when I meet your friends they don't think I'm heartless."
"You're not heartless baby." He says, his long fingers tucking a strand of stray hair behind your ear.
You check your watch and realise that it's time to go. "I'll see you after shift?"
"Of course. Break a leg Y/N!" He yells once you're out of the car.
"Don't say that Kelly you know I'm clumsy!"
***
The 24 hour long shift is killing him. He spends more time in the common room than at the squad table because that's where the TV is.
After a lot of attempts he finnaly managed to get Mouch to switch the news to channel 9. Just how you told him to.
"Andy Holland. Never liked the guy." Mouch comments on the news reporter.
"Yeah like Miranda is any better. She just spreads lies." Kelly shoots back. The two channels are reporting things very differently and he's looking out for you.
"But it's kind of true." Brian agrees with Kelly. "Channel 6 makes it seem like Y/N's a monster. Andy gives her some credit at least."
"Thank you!" Kelly yells out to him.
"And why do you care Severide?" Cruz joins the discussion. "Sure she's hot and smart but there's no way you can get into her pants. Not hers."
This sparked Kelly's interest. They have no idea. "Oh really?"
Joe let's out a "mhmm" before retreating to the comfort of his bed.
At that moment, Kelly's phone dings, indicating a new message.
From Y/N [4:55 P.M]
Hey you left your wallet at my place. Want me to drop it off?
I'm meeting the client and my team at 7 and I'll be gone until the morning.
Night shift suckssss!
A smile sneaks up on his face without him even noticing. He types a reply quickly, full-heartedly inviting you to the firehouse with the simple message.
***
Just 15 minutes after the small exchange, you're outside the firehouse leaning against your sleek womanly car. You patiently wait for Kelly with sunglasses over your eyes.
You notice him jogging towards you and soon you're in his arms. "I missed you."
"We saw each other this morning Y/N."
You give him an offended look once you take your sunglasses off. "Can't a girl miss her boyfriend?"
"Yeah," He leans in for a tortured kiss, showing you just how much he missed you too. "She can."
You pull away blushing and move to grab your bag. Finally, you fish out his wallet and hand it to him. "Well. Here you go."
"Do you wanna come in?"
"Who? Me?" You're not really dressed to impress. You wanted your first encounter with them be normal. Normal as in you will dress up like a normal woman your age and act like it.
But in the outfit that consisted of a black pencil skirt, white blouse, black blazer and pointy heels you were meant for formality and formality only.
"I want them to meet you." He admits. "I realised how hard it will be to not talk about you. Everyone thinks that I'm way out of your league."
"Oh so your plan is to get me to meet them so you can brag about sleeping with me." For a second that thought hurt your heart.
"No, no, no, no... I just want to be able to brag about how amazing you are as a person. And how much I love you." He leans in until you're inches apart. "I want them to know that we're serious about each other."
He stays quiet for a moment before whispering "And also... They're fans of you."
"Well in that case." You loop your arm through his. "Let's go meet them."
***
"Hey Severide! Come see what they're saying about your imaginary girlf-" Mouch' words die right on his tounge when he sees who's on Kelly's arm. "Girlf-f-friend. Y/N Y/LN is that you?!" He points between the TV and your living body aggressively with his glasses.
"In the flesh... Mouch?" You remember his name because of the detailed description your boyfriend gave you.
"She knows my name! Oh my Trudy is going to be so happy." He puts his glasses back on and starts to work his way around his cellphone, eventually succeeding and calling Trudy Platt. "Stay right there." He tells you and dissapears. You can still hear him even though he isn't in your line of vision.
"How much did he pay you to play his fake girlfriend?" A dark haired man with an impressive mustache comes up to you. Absolutely chirping with joy, almost as if he isn't surprised at all. Mustache.
"Oh! You're Brian right? Or Otis? I don't know which one you prefer." You tell him shyly, embarrassed for not knowing what to call him.
"You can call me whatever." He wraps his hands around yours and places a kiss to the back of it. It brings slight blush to your cheeks and he sees that as the day's biggest victory.
"Okay Otis that's enough." Kelly steps in.
"Y/N Y/LN. I've heard so much about you." An older man comes up to you with glitter in his eyes. He enthusiastically takes your hand and instead of pressing a kiss to it like Otis did, he shakes it with such honor that surprises you.
"He's a fan." Otis fake coughs.
"Of course I am. Y/N I've been watching the news ever since it became public." He slowly pulls you away from your boyfriend and sits you at the long table. "I gotta say. You're great! Calm, cool, collected... A little bit cold but that's alright. My wife Cindy, let me tell ya. She loves you. Emphasis on loves."
You're lulled into his conversation that not even Kelly can get you away from him. Once you're done you realised one simple thing about the older gentleman - he loves to talk.
"Oh my my." Another voice appears by the door. "Y/N?"
"Um...hi. I'm here with Kelly nice to meet-"
The man pulls you into a bone-crashing hug. "You're with Severide?!"
The surprise in his voice and the knowing look on your boyfriend's face caught you off guard. "Yeah? He's my boyfriend."
You easily connect the name to the face. Joe Curz in the flesh.
"Hey, hey what's going on in here?" Another voice joins you and you recognise it. Truck's lieutenant and alderman, Matt Casey, joins you in the common room and stops when he sees you.
"Alderman Casey." You greet your old friend.
"Y/N Y/LN. Haven't seen you in a while." He gives your hand a firm shake for formality sake before you both drop the facade and pull each other in for a hug.
"Wait you two know each other?" Your boyfriend asks in shock. He did not expect this.
"Yeah. Matt and I met at a few events." You explain. "A few glasses of burbon and we were pronounced as friends. Didn't I tell you that?"
A pitch of guilt shoots through your body at the untold information but when you see Kelly smile you immediately relax. "Sorry I didn't tell you. Guess I forgot."
"Don't worry. How long until you have to go?" He asks you before sneaking his arm around your waist.
You check your watch. "An hour."
"Good. Let's have some fun." Kelly kisses your forehead and you join the rest of the buzzing firefighters.
When you leave the firehouse to go to work, you not only leave with the weight off your shoulders but a lot of new friends.

[Author’s Note: Oh Hi there! This fic is now over a YEAR old! Woah!! ]
[ Summary: Ladybug figures out her Lucky Charm, just in the nick of time. ]
[ Posted on Ao3 ] [ Chapter 1 ] [ Chapter 14 ] [ Chapter 16 ]
Ladybug was up high, holding on to the top of the Eiffel Tower like a cliche reenactment of that Dancing in the Rain scene where the man is swinging around a lamp post. Only, she’s over 300 metres above the ground instead of just one, and she’s admittedly quite terrified of looking directly downward. Still, she pushes down the instinct to be terrified and looks out, beyond the surrounding park below, towards the glowing lines still spreading through the city.
“Map, roads, landmarks, personal pins, lost items…” Ladybug’s mind tried to piece together all the little clues she had gathered. She looked down to her hand, a small roll of red paper clutched in it. Letting it unfurl, she took note of the various numbers and letters printed in black ink. There was almost a pattern to it, though they made no particular sense to her.
“Map, landmarks, numbers, map, landmarks, numbers,” she repeated to herself, before it clicked. “Numbers and personal pins, all on a map. These are coordinates-! Ack! ” She held tighter to the tower, her momentary distraction making her tilt a bit too far out.
Still continuing to avoid looking down, Ladybug took one more glance to the skyline, and a certain marker caught her eye. It was one of the unique ones, further out towards the edges of the growing map. It was moving. But it wasn’t along any of the main roads. At least not above ground. And the Akuma had mentioned the subway.
“More than just a map,” Ladybug realized. “Slowly growing like a buffer, keeping track of places and active transit routes... This is a GPS! Of course! Atlas lost something, now they’re trying to track it down!” She looked down toward her hand, “My Luck Charm must be-” and she saw the ground, far, far below.
And Ladybug thought she was scared earlier when she was swinging precariously through the streets of Paris by the cord of a yo-yo.
It didn’t help that an unexpected beeping suddenly invaded her ears just as wind whipped hair into her eyes, and by instinct both hands went to her ears, eyes screwed shut.
Ladybug gasped, breath catching and body stiffening as she realized she was tilting away from her perch on the tower once again. Only now, she didn’t have a hand holding her to it, and the arm that finally reached out to grab for something, anything , was a moment too late.
There was no scream as she fell, only the rush of air around her, contrasting to the lack of breathing in her chest. Her two masked eyes opened out of fright, flinching from the wind. For a moment, she didn’t know which way was up or down, until her peripheral saw the top observation deck pass by in a blur.
She reached for her yo-yo clumsily, and knowing every second counted toward saving herself only made her muscles refuse to cooperate. Barely managing to get a finger through the yo-yo’s ring, Ladybug threw her only weapon out, towards the beams of the tower, hoping beyond hope that it would catch hold.
Her luck held, and the yo-yo caught.
But she was still falling, of course, and as the ground grew closer and the string drew taunt, Ladybug squeaked as she was suddenly swinging into the force of her own pendulum.
She swung past the ground between the legs of the Eiffel Tower and went back upwards, straight up through the open center of the first observation deck.
Her breath caught again as gravity slowed her upward trek, and for a moment, she felt herself suspended in the open air.
That moment stretched longer.
Before her brain could question the fact she was closer to floating than actually reaching the peak of upward lift, gravity reclaimed Ladybug, and she was falling again.
“Ack! Gotta stop gotta stop-!”
Tugged at the string of her yo-yo as she went, and it expanded, dropping her closer to the ground than before. At the moment she swung parallel to the ground, she gave another tug, and the yo-yo’s main body, wherever it had caught on the tower above, let itself free, and Ladybug tumbled into a roll across the ground.
“Owch… I really need to get better at this,” She grumbled to herself as she staggered back to standing. A black clad figure slid into place beside her, a hand reaching out to give balance, the other with an extended baton held out defensively.
“You sure do, Buggy,” Oncilla said. “Welcome back to the battle. Sorry I couldn’t catch you myself, Atlas is surprisingly tough to distract.”
Ladybug shook her head, “Think nothing of it, I’m fine. Thanks for giving me the time I needed to figure out what to do.”
“No problem! So what’s the plan now?” Oncilla asked as she picked up a still unsteady Ladybug and jumped out of the way of Atlas as they charged forward. It had barely been a minute since she left the battle to call for her Lucky Charm, but Ladybug already felt like the last time she had been moving around this much had been an hour ago. She was really going to need to get used to this whole stop-and-go process, and hopefully soon.
“My Lucky Charm gave me coordinates. I noticed that this whole thing, all the changes to the city, it’s a giant GPS system, tuned in to the Akuma’s own needs.”
“How does that help us fight it?” Oncilla asks, puzzled.
“We- we might not have to, I think that’s the point. Sometimes, the best thing to do in a fight is to not fight, but to help ,” Ladybug realized. “Quick, put me down, I need to get Atlas’s attention.”
Oncilla did as asked, and Ladybug immediately started waving her arms over her head.
“Truce! We call a truce!! I know how we can help each other without needing to fight!”
The Akuma paused in their attack, before flying straight to Ladybug and stopping directly in front of her, an intimidating figure that made the new hero flinch. Oncilla stood close, tense.
“Explain,” Atlas commanded with a voice of steel. “You have 30 seconds.”
“You’re connected to the map that's imposed over the city, right?” A nod in response. “Well, I think we found your items that you lost. At least, sort of.”
“ Sort of? ” they growled, prompting the Black Cat user to step closer and growl back.
“You’ll have to confirm it for us,” Ladybug appeased gently. “I have coordinates, they should lead you where you need to go since you know how to use the map. But…” She paused, glancing at her partner before continuing more confidently, “But we have to trade. Your Akumatized item, for my Lucky Charm. You get what you need, and we get what we need. A fair trade, right?”
There’s a pause, stretched out by held breaths and the flickering of a butterfly outline over eyes.
Atlas glanced at Ladybug's earrings, just as they started to beep for a second time, and the hero gulped. Then, the supervillain stepped back.
“You have a deal,” Atlas proclaimed, clearly ignoring Hawk Moth’s interruption. The two heroes let out relieved breaths. “But you’re coming with me. If I don’t get what I want, you’re both going to pay dearly.”
Oncilla and Ladybug nod in understanding, Ladybug a bit nervous in contrast to Oncilla’s confidence. No, it was pride, directed at Ladybug. “You’re doing great, Little Lady,” the Black Cat hero reassured with a grin. “This will be over soon. Let’s go.”
And with that, Ladybug hands her Lucky Charm to Atlas, who in turn hands over their own item. It was nothing more than small, shaped sticky notes meant for organization. It felt unnerving in Ladybug’s hand, something so small and simple able to be used for something so strong and menacing.
The two heroes then followed Atlas as they pinpointed the exact location of the coordinates. It was near one of the personal landmarks, a place Ladybug didn’t know, but Atlas clearly knew it. After some frustrated searching, another round of beeping from the earrings, and a couple tense moments where the heroes thought the Akuma might blow their top, the missing items were found.
Atlas held the pack of calligraphy and felt tip pens like they meant the world to them.
“Thanks,” they said quietly, genuinely. They handed the no longer needed Lucky Charm back to Ladybug with an appreciative nod. “Do what you need to do. I don’t need Hawk Moth any longer. I can deal with my own battles myself.”
Ladybug turned to Oncilla, smiling big with the overwhelming emotions of an unexpected victory. “Want to do the honors?” she asked as she held out the Akumatized sticky notes.
“I’d be happy to,” Oncilla purred, taking the item in her ringed hand. “Cataclysm!”
The sticky notes disintegrated, and a dark butterfly emerged like it was hatching from a cocoon. Ladybug, with an encouraging nudge from Oncilla that also served as a reminder, took out her yo-yo once more, activated its ability to purify, and caught the little insect.
“Bye-bye, little butterfly,” she whispered to the creature as it fluttered away. Then, with a deep breath, she clutched the Lucky Charm before tossing it high; “Miraculous Ladybug!”
Ladybug jumped back with a squeak, surprised by the sudden burst of black, red, and white magic from the item, watching in awe as it swept down the streets and into the distance.
A fourth set of beeps rang in her ears, drawing her attention away with a start.
“I need to go! Oncilla, can you-?”
“I can cover the civilian and make sure they get home; don’t worry, I got this! See you later, Your Ladyship ,” the other hero reassured and teased with a playful wink.
Ladybug giggled and flushed at the whole embarrassing ordeal. “Yes, of course- See you around then, Lancelot ,” she managed to return the tease through her flustered state, before throwing out her yo-yo and pulling herself back towards home.

warnings: nudity, mildly suggestive language
words: 4000+

note: For… reasons, this is an alternate universe in which space ships have actual showers with water, not just sonic showers. Also, Maul’s cybernetics are waterproof. I don’t make the rules... wait- I do. Also, make sure to read the end notes today :)
_____
Stars, you hate it here.
Everything, from the endless nights to the lack of clean water and the ever-looming prospect of going to prison increases your motivation to somehow fix the communicator yourself and run off before Kenobi can take you with him, leaving him stranded on the planet.
For exactly a decade, just to be even.
“It should work,” Kenobi remarks with very apparent annoyance. “Everything is connected and the power source is on.”
“Well, it’s obviously not working.”
“Thank you for your observation.” He drops his hands into his lap, looking quite defeated. And tired.
While you’ve been keeping some structure in your days, he’s been working tirelessly on repairing that communicator. Until he did tire out, occasionally.
Now was one of these occasions.
“I’m losing focus and I can hardly see anything. It’ll be best to continue when the sun comes back up again.”
Which is precisely what you were hoping he’d say, but you still force yourself to make another snide comment. “Maybe it’ll fix itself while you’re resting and we are magically transported off this planet.”
He pays you no mind and heads to what’s become his sleeping spot over the past days - or has it been over a week already?
“I trust you’ll keep watch?”
You just huff, but don’t refuse his request. It is an agreement you’ve come to quite early on when you both realized that the death of one would make the other’s survival significantly less likely. So while he sleeps, you make sure no animals sneak up and attack him, which, apart from the “dinner” incident a few days ago, only happened once, but still rattled him enough to make him remind you of your duty evry time he went to sleep.
Except tonight, you plan on shifting your attention to something completely different.
You have not, in fact, come to terms with the probable reality that you’ll spend the rest of your days in a prison of the Republic. Instead, you’ve been observing what exactly Kenobi is doing to repair the life-saving device and despite your lack of aptitude in such things, you, too, see that the communicator should - in theory - work. Kenobi is overworked and agitated; it would only be natural for him to miss something.
Something you might be able to catch and use to your advantage.
You remain still where you are until you hear his quiet breaths evening out, indicating he has fallen asleep.
“Kenobi?” You whisper into the silence, a last test to check if he is still conscious.
No response.
Your heart beats fast in your chest, all too aware of how pressing time is. For some reason, this man rarely sleeps more than two hours at a time, which could be partially blamed on you for always nagging at him when he isn’t trying to fix the communicator. But then again, you have the feeling that he usually doesn’t have very different habits.
With the kind of stealth only someone who has been trained in these arts could bring up, you sneak across the clearing to where the source of all your troubles and hope lies on the ground.
The device has been taken out of the starfighters cockpit and thus looks pretty out of place and… unfinished. But you know better, having watched the Jedi dismantle and reassemble every little piece.
The metal glints in the shine of your flashlight as you crouch to be on eye-level with the device. At first glance everything seems to be in order, just like the Jedi remarked, but that is not acceptable. Fixing the cursed thing before Kenobi is your only way to freedom and you will not allow your own incompetence to stand in your way.
So you look again. And again.
You shine light into every little corner, every port, under every wire and in between each panel. Time is passing too quickly, you are aware, and your chances are dwindling.
But then you see it.
Tiny and inconspicuous, something organic - a seed maybe - is blocking one of the loose wires from connecting with its respective port.
You bite your lip to suppress a victorious exclamation, looking over your shoulder to check if Kenobi is still fast asleep.
Heart thrumming in your ears, you take a deep breath to calm your nerves and steady your hand for the task ahead. Cautiously, you lift some of the metal paneling to give you access to the section, fingers weaving through the wires with extra care since many of them are not firmly in place due to the crash and were only pinned to their receptors by Kenobi.
At last, your fingertips graze the disruptive piece of forest that has made it so far into the technology. Slowly, you remove it from its spot, moving the wire back to where it was supposed to connect.
Now let’s try this.
You turn the power on, holding your breath and praying to whatever force there is out there that it won’t make any noise.
A quiet whir is the only indication that the power is flowing, causing a small smile to creep over your hidden features. The display comes to life, faintly glowing blue. You throw looks over your shoulder every few seconds, hastily pressing the buttons to type in the private comm information Maul and all his commanding warriors kept as a backup for emergencies. You have no idea how many emergencies must have occurred in these past weeks, but you hope your message won’t be drowned out by others. This is the only shot you get.
You pick some coordinates that, if your knowledge of space navigation isn’t misleading you, should be a few miles north of your current location, then sign the message with ‘ -S ’ .
You stare at the numbers, forcing your mind to absorb them, then you hit send and a series of green lights tells you it at least went out successfully, meaning all you can do now is to hope that it will be received the same way.
Kenobi is still fast asleep, chest rising and falling steadily. You almost feel sorry for what you’re about to do, but there really aren’t many alternatives.
You take out a small vial from a pocket in your belt, filling a syringe with it. It’s been a while since you last used it, but you made sure you always have some tranquilizers on you, and now you’re thankful for that.
On your tiptoes, you sneak to Kenobi’s sleeping form, narrowing your eyes to make out the exposed skin on his neck.
The needle is buried in his neck in a matter of seconds and his eyes shoot open in shock and confusion while his hands fly to his neck.
“Why-”
“Nothing personal,” you assure him when his eyelids droop and his words lose coherence.
Normally, this should knock a person out for at least three hours, but you don’t know how a force sensitivity might influence that. One way or another, you should take off now and get as big a headstart as you can. But first, one more thing.
You give the heap of beige robes that is the Jedi knight one more almost regretful look, then you crush the communicator beneath your heel. Can’t risk him calling for Republic forces while you’re still in the area after all, and you’d have no way of taking the device with you, since it’s hooked up to the ship wreckage.
Why you spare his life, you don’t know, and you’d rather not spend too much time thinking about it. Perhaps you should kill him, after all he’s done to Maul, and why your conscience decides to pipe up now of all times will remain a mystery. You have killed people in less honorable ways, but…
“Ugh,” you grunt, finally turning your back on the Jedi and starting your journey north.
 *
 “Maul! Maul, come here!”
He jerks up, briefly having fallen asleep leaned against the wall. For a second, he fully expects to see your gleaming eyes staring back at him, that’s how familiar the voice is. It takes him a moment to understand that it’s not you, but Loa calling him.
Which is supremely peculiar, because the young woman rarely ever addresses him, let alone command him.
He is out of the room, your room, in a flash, looking over Loa’s shoulder at the message displayed a second later.
Both of his hearts seem to skip a beat.
The message consists of nothing but a set of coordinates, the only indication of its origin the ‘ -S ’ with which it is signed.
S as in… Spectress?
It must be you. There is no one else with access to this line of communication who would send this kind of message.
Loa gapes at the writing.
“It’s… It’s her, isn’t it? It’s gotta be her, I’m…”
“Set course,” is his only response, sitting down in the copilot’s seat, several scenarios already running through his mind.
“Looks like some type of… forest moon,” She remarks, readying the ship for hyperspace with outstanding speed and routine. You weren’t exaggerating at all when you said she had become a good pilot.
He ponders for a minute. If you are somehow stranded there, they won’t need reinforcement, with their forces stretched thin as it is. But if any threats lurk nearby and he puts your little sister in danger…
He will die by your hand, then. Or his own.
“How long?”
“Estimate of four hours.”
“Very well. I will try to find out what to expect when we arrive there.”
According to his sources, there has been no Republic activity in the system in question over the past month - that’s what he found out after two hours of vehement research. Really, he already knew that after thirty minutes, but you being so close yet so far from him drove him to bury himself in databanks and records by his spies.
His thoughts travel to a darker place.
He doesn’t know what state you’ll be in when he finds you - if he finds you. And even if you’re fine, everything else is far from fine. Mandalore, the crime syndicate and most of all, Savage…
Something on the dresser that takes up most of the cramped space clatters to the floor when he loses control of the chaotic force inside him and he flinches, immediately worrying he broke something of importance to you. After all, he has taken up residence in what used to be your small quarters on your ship, before everything happened, before you joined the Death Watch, before you saw him again.
When you were still living relatively safe, off the Republic’s radars.
Out of Master’s reach.
It’s been torturing him every waking moment to think that you might meet the same end that Savage did. The speculation of what could have been if he hadn’t reentered your life has become a constant in his mind. Because if he ever has to see the life fade out of your eyes, the way he saw the nightsister magick leave Savage when he exhaled his last breath, he isn’t sure he could forgive the galaxy. He vows to himself, already vowed to himself few days after he first laid eyes on you, that he will do anything to keep that fiery soul safe.
His fingers run over the cold piece of metal that has fallen, curiously examining it. No, not normal metal, beskar . There are letters forged into it, but they look like traditional Mando’a scripture, which he is still unpracticed in reading.
He contemplates putting it into the uppermost drawer, lest it get lost during more daring flight maneuvers, but he hesitates. He’s never opened any of the drawers, despite the very persistent curiosity he felt. The last he’d want is to invade your privacy; you hadn’t even consented to him sleeping in your private space (although he doubts you would mind after he has literally slept with you).
Maul makes up his mind and pulls the drawer open, not intending to even look, but his gaze still gets caught.
He expected to find clothes, maybe, or, knowing you, weapons. What he finds instead is a collection of… trinkets.
It’s not new to him that you have a tendency to collect items, sometimes out of sentiment, sometimes as a trophy. He didn’t realize you kept them so meticulously stored.
It’s quite endearing, he thinks.
Some of the items he recalls you talking about, but others seem entirely random. His eyes linger on a piece of flimsiplast that looks like a child has drawn on it.
He is tempted to take it out and hold it into the light, but quickly realizes that it would go against his original decision not to pry.
There is so much personal history collected in that small space. Dozens of untold stories, so many parts of your life that he missed.
He won’t rest until he knows you’ll still be able to tell them.
 *
Oddly enough, you miss Kenobi. More precisely, you miss his ability to sense danger before it has reached you.
Every little noise startles you, every swish of wind making your heart stop and you increase your speed a little.
By now, you’re nearly running through the woods, less than half a mile away from the coordinates you chose.
Chances are, he has woken up by now. And you’re not stupid; you know it’ll be easy for him to track you down when there is no civilization around. From what your understanding of the force is, he should be able to sense your force signature from a larger distance when there is nothing else to disrupt it. That also means that he will be hot on your tail, so whoever shows up to rescue you better hurry .
With a heavy heart, you turn off your flashlight and lean against a tree while you remove your mask for better air supply and allow your eyes to adjust. It still takes so kriffing long, you wonder if that’ll ever change.
If Kenobi finds you first, it won’t make much of a difference.
You get moving again, slower but also less of a beacon in the dark.
The trees start coming in more sparsely now, until you can actually see farther than twenty feet without trees blocking your view. This allows you to pick up speed again and thus make up for the darkness that is slowing you down, until the landscape is so open that you’re actually running now.
And that’s when you hear them.
Branches cracking somewhere behind you.
Probably just the wind. Keep going.
The dull thud of feet hitting the ground makes your breath catch in your throat.
So maybe he did wake up earlier than anticipated.
You whirl around, seeing nothing but his black silhouette and desperately wishing for a lightsaber, which you - unwisely - have sworn off after the Naboo incident. That, and running around wielding a lightsaber wasn’t exactly the level of subtlety you were going for at the time.
But now, you could really use it.
“I spared your life!” You yell.
“And destroyed my only way away from here,” he responds, sounding almost hurt as he makes slow steps towards you. You take just as many backwards.
Something in the sky beyond him catches your eye and suddenly, the situation looks different.
“I’ve got to look out for myself first,” you argue. “Surely, you understand that.”
“You know I can’t let you go.”
“I do,” you say serenely, taking a deep breath, then whirling around to make a run for it.
You don’t need to look over your shoulder to know he is following you and, even worse, gaining on you.
The small headstart you got, combined with the distance between you two in the first place isn’t nearly enough, even though you are in great shape and a truly fast runner.
The ship you spotted earlier now flies over your head, approaching the ground and you could laugh and cry at the same time. It’s not just any ship, it’s your ship. Your home, and aboard, you hope, your family.
It doesn’t touch the ground, but it flies low enough to be accessible from the ground while slowing to a speed that should allow for you to jump on, if you could only run a little faster.
Damn, ten years ago this would have been easier.
The blast door in the back, only about twenty feet away from you, slides open, revealing a figure that even in the dark you can make out to be…
Maul.
He extends his hand and you instantly know what he wants you to do.
So, you take a deep breath and jump .
The moment your feet leave the ground you feel the tug of the force pulling you to the zabrak while your own hand reaches forward and you fly through the air, until your hand finally reaches Maul’s.
You are not safe yet, still hanging from the edge of the ship when you suddenly feel a different pull on one of your ankles. Your eyes widen in shock and you try to tell Maul that it’s Kenobi, he is pulling you back, but all that you manage is a terrified shriek when your hand almost slips out of his at a particularly strong pull backwards.
Not this time, Kenobi.
Your determination sets in and you look down to see Kenobi standing still, arms extended to manipulate the force. With your one free hand, you reach for your blaster, aiming and-
The hold on your ankle abruptly loosens and you are yanked on board at once, the blast door sliding shut immediately, drowning out the deafening sound of wind.
You are panting, sprawled out on the floor, not even realizing that you did it .
“Hyperspace, as soon as possible,” you distantly hear Maul say, but the thrumming of your heart is too loud to properly hear his voice, until he somehow sits you up and…
Embraces you.
Warm fingers run through your messy hair, soft murmurs that you can’t quite understand coming from right next to your ear.
“I’m filthy,” you protest weakly, half-heartedly trying to free yourself from his hold but he only holds on tighter and at last you melt into the affection, burying your face in his neck.
“Is Loa…?”
“In the cockpit,” he instantly calms your worries and you sigh happily. For a moment, everything is alright.
“What did I miss?” You eventually muster up the courage to ask.
His grip tightens so much you can feel his fingertips dig into your hip and you immediately know something bad happened.
“It was… Master. He killed Savage.”
Your heart sinks, the previous relief replaced by a dark type of sadness. There is anger and, most dominantly, fear.
The Sith lord doesn’t intend on letting Maul off, which by extension also means there is a target on everyone he surrounds himself with.
You can’t even find words to console him, only taking in a shaky breath against his skin and whispering, "I'm sorry."
"He's free now."
Eventually, you find the strength to get up, tiredly patting over to the cockpit.
“Hey.” Loa presses a few last buttons, then jumps up and crushes you in a tight hug.
“I thought I would never see you again.”
“You know me better than that,” you retort mildly.
“I suppose so,” she sighs, holding you at an arm’s length. “You need a shower,” she assesses, plucking a leaf from your hair.
Self-consciously you run a hand through the tangles, then look down at your muddy clothes.
“I agree.”
Maul waits for you when you leave the cockpit, immediately taking your hand as if to reassure himself that you are truly there.
“Missed me?” You joke half-heartedly, doing nothing to hide the way the tension seems to melt from your body at the touch.
“Every minute,” he answers earnestly, not a hint of a joke in his voice.
“Come with me, then,” you offer, making your way to the refresher and pulling him along. As expected, he follows you all too willingly, thumb rubbing circles on the back of your hand.
You don’t even bother undressing all the way before getting under the water stream, suddenly realizing how much you’ve been longing for it. While your clothes soak, the water pooling around your feet turns a muddy brown as the dirt from the forest is finally washed off.
Maul steps in the small shower behind you, holding a hand into the falling water.
“That’s cold,” he states.
“Not for me, it’s not.” You eye his frown. “But we can turn the temperature up.”
The heat does feel good, and not much later you finally attempt to peel off the remaining layers of clothing. Red tattooed hands come to your aid fast and within seconds, your skin is completely exposed, the stress of the past weeks running down the drain along with the dirt and… blood?
You bring a hand up to touch your forehead at the same time that a scowl makes its way on Maul’s face.
“Kenobi,” he growls, but you shake your head.
“That’s from when I crashed the starfighter.” You examine your bloodied fingers with moderate interest. “I think it’s healed already, that’s just dried blood coming off.”
He huffs, lightly running a finger over the area on your face.
“Any other injuries?” His eyes roam your body, not in a sexual, but in a concerned manner.
“None I can think of,” you sigh as he gathers soap in his hands, closing your eyes for a moment as the warm water runs over your face. When you don’t hear another noise from Maul, you open your eyes again, only to find him staring at you with something like bewilderment in his eyes.
“Are you okay?”
He responds by crashing his lips into yours, expressing so many emotions through his actions that he otherwise can’t find the words for. You very nearly fall at the suddenness of it, but his arms are wrapped around you in a heartbeat, pressing you into his chest and giving you the skin-to-skin contact you’ve been missing so terribly.
Your eyes water as emotions overcome you, the relief, the sorrow, the uncertainty and… guilt.
When you break apart, his are shining in a similar way.
You lean against the weapons locker, facing the ceiling while you let the details of your situation soak in. The havoc that was wreaked on Mandalore by the resistant Mandalorians, the coming and going of the crime families, and the looming threat of Sidious’ grand plan finally coming together.
“I have a suggestion,” you begin slowly. “But you’re not going to like it.”
“Go on.”
“The Jedi are not our main enemy anymore, if what you foresee comes true.” You recall him talking about the envisioned destruction of the Jedi order, something that Sidious has been plotting for a long time. “If we give them the right tools to do so, it’ll be them who need to fight him, not you. Not any of us.” Your eyes dart to the cockpit where your sister is holed up.
“Tools, such as… knowledge?” He touches his chin the way he always does when he mulls over an idea.
“Sidious is but one man. He only thrives on secrecy, so if we-”
“A Jedi will never cooperate with a Sith .” He snarls. “Their self-righteousness wouldn’t allow it.”
“Maybe not.” You sigh with exhaustion. “All I know is that the better equipped the Jedi, the higher the chance of them actually defeating Sidious before it’s too late. And that’s why I have another proposition.”
“What is it?”
“We make a small transmission to the Republic fleet, sending them the same coordinates I sent you.”
“You’re trying to save Kenobi?” He doesn’t sound angered, he sounds… surprised.
“As much as I dislike him, he is one of their more capable knights, and it’s become pretty obvious he and his padawan are quite invested in uncovering Sidious’ identity.”
You are astounded he even considers the idea.
“Also, helping him could be interpreted as a show of good faith. Might get them off our back for some time, until we figure out who to fight,” you add.
For a minute, he remains silent. Then, his arm is wrapped around your waist and his lips brush over your temple.
“I trust your judgment,” he mumbles. “Do what you believe is right.”

SOOO, after a two week delay, I have elected to post once more... my bad. In the next 2-4 weeks I’d like to edit and improve the older chapters because I’m not 100% happy with the writing in them anymore, so because of that there won’t be another update during that time. Don’t worry though, I’m not done yet, the story will go on - just after a short break :,)

Hui X Reader [Featuring: Shinwon and Changgu as siblings]
50s AU [What I wish the 50s were]
“This place is the antsville,...” I muttered to myself when my siblings and I entered the bar. It was jam-packed with people no more than a few inches away from each other as they tried to crowd around the stage. Who was going to play? I had no clue, but I knew they were going to be big. So I pushed myself between people and squeezed to the barrier as the musicians came onto the stage. That’s when I saw him, his eyes glimmered under the pink lights. Carding his hand through his hair, he stated, “Tonight, folks, we’re going to play a few of our hits. Let’s see if you know them!” And with that, he holds up his fingers and signals, ‘1, 2, 3, 4’!
Surprisingly, I knew every song as I listened to the radio as often as possible. It’s only when my parents are busy listening to the news playing on the Morning Radio that I miss the hits. Whenever everyone was outside, I would find an excuse to be listening to the radio on the inside. Would I get in trouble for it? Yes, but it is worth every second. Finding out the voice I found attractive belongs to a handsome man? Made it well worth getting scolded for listening to the radio, ‘too much'. While I sang along, I found myself getting lost in his demeanor; how his voice would ring out on high notes, how his voice sounded like pure honey. I couldn’t get enough of it. So when their concert ended, my heart broke. I wished to see him again, but I knew I was getting my hopes up too fast. I found Changgu and Shinwon, my two younger siblings, perched at the bar.
They were drinking two milkshakes, and when they waved me over, they ordered me one. Which I gladly accepted, "Did you germs enjoy the concert?" They smirk at each other and nod at me, “You were ogling the crooner~” Changgu teases me, “He’s not a crooner, you germ.” Changgu shrugs at me, and I roll my eyes. Shinwon gets up, flips his collar up, acting like he’s hot shit. And says, “Well, it was nice knowing you oddballs, but I see a looker at 10 O’clock, and I don’t want to miss my shot.” I roll my eyes yet again and shrug, “Later, guess it’s just you and me, Changgu.” He shakes his head, “It's just you, I’m gonna talk to the drummer, Wooseok.” I gasp, “You know him?” He nods, “I’m not introducing you to the lead--” I groan, “Later, Germ!” I groan, into my straw and watch the clock. Three more hours before my siblings and I need to be back. If we are late, I am so blaming it on Changgu.
While waiting on the two, a grubby guy comes up to me and asks me questions like, ‘How’s my night going’? to which I answer 'Fine.' And, ‘What’s my name?’ to which I don’t respond. On the fifth question of, ‘Do you come here often?’ I finally have enough and ask, “Are you writing a book?” Doesn’t he get that I am not interested? I groan internally. What will it take for him to leave me alone? When this gorgeous guy comes up to me and asks, “Is he bothering you, Baby?” I nod, and the guy quickly backs up and goes, “I was not--, I did not know they were yours. Actually, I hear my buddies calling, so I’ll be splitting.” The guy smirks and sits down at the bar next to me when I recognize him. He was the guy singing up on the stage, “You have a bad reputation or somethin’?’ He shrugs, “Depends on who you ask.” I smirk to myself, “Well, what if I’m askin’?” He smirks over at me, “Well, I’m as bad as you want me to be, Baby.” I conceal my smile and wink at him.
One thing led to another, and I was in his backseat making out with him. Don’t know how it happened, but I’m not complaining. I drag him on top of my lap and suck a bright red hickey on his collarbone. He's not one to be outdone, which leaves me, two bright red hickeys, on my neck. I have my hands fisted in his dress shirt, pulling him closer and causing wrinkles. When we hear a knock on his passenger window, it's the drummer, Wooseok, “Can I catch a ride from you?” Hui groans into my neck, “Can’t you see I’m-- Yes, yes I can. Give us a few minutes, okay?” I laugh as Hui gestures to the two of us, and Wooseok gives me a small wave. When Wooseok leaves, Hui slips off my lap, and I whine, making grabby hands at him. He chuckles, "I'm sorry to cut this short I don't want this to end." I pout, "Me neither. Why can't he get a ride from someone else?" Hui laughs, "I have a feeling the others already took home their dates. Plus, Wooseok can't drive--" I interrupt "What eighteen-year-old can't drive?" Hui laughs, "He's learning." I cross my arms over my torso and say, "Well, I was learning what your lips taste like." Hui smirks and pulls me back in for another kiss, "I know I won't be able to fall asleep in this class." I smile as we part and help him fix his dress shirt as he helps me fix up my hair. He asked if I needed a ride as well, and I shook my head. Since I'm taking Shinwon and Changgu home, I’m going to need to get a turtleneck to cover up this damage. We part ways with one final kiss, and he asks, "Will I ever see you, again?" I smile, "Depends. Are you asking to stay?" He smiles, "I live ten houses down on Maynard." I nod, and with that, I'm gone like the wind.
I find my way back into the bar and find Shinwon lying on a bench. While Changgu is laughing at whatever the bartender is saying. Shinwon catches my eye, and with a smirk, he says, “I heard you were doing back seat bingo with Hui from Wooseok~.” I roll my eyes, “Oh shut it, Shinwon. Can you give me your turtleneck? So our parents don’t see my marks?” He shrugs and goes to the bathroom and comes back with his coat covering his chest. And hands over his turtleneck which I slip over my shirt. “What happened to the ones you guys had an eye on?” Changgu groans, “They had a girlfriend and did not want anything to do with me.” I squint, “I thought you were talking to Wooseok.” He shrugs, “I was, but I saw a cutie, and I went after them, and it was a complete bust.” I laugh, and Shinwon shakes his head, “Mine wasn’t much better.” He tells us with a sigh, and I ask, “How so?” He smirks, “I got a date next Friday, suckers!” I roll my eyes, “Of course.” Changgu groans even louder into the table, “Am I the only one whose night out didn’t go well.” I shrug, “I mean at least you aren’t working this shift.” He shrugs, “You have me there. So do you have a way to contact Hui?” I nod, "I am striking out this week." In unison, Shinwon and I go, "You should try out for baseball then." Shinwon is celebrating his victory, acting like he won when I am the one that hit a home run. I ended up snogging and giving hickeys to the lead singer of a famous hometown band.
The daylight couldn't arrive faster as I watched the clock, waking up every so often to see only twenty minutes have passed. I wanted to scream, but that would alert the whole house I was anxious about tomorrow. What if he turns me down? What if he only wanted to be with me for that night, and Wooseok ruined his plans? It made me nervous and restless. The clock could not tick faster to reach 9 a.m., could it? I wish to know more about him. Like what is his favorite time of day, what keeps him up at night. What makes his heartbeat fast? Where did he learn to sing? The questions raced around my mind so much, I finally crashed.
I wake up and stretch out my limbs to see it’s eight-thirty in the morning. Which leaves me enough time to get up, have some breakfast with my family. Get dressed and walk down my street and over to Mayard and to the tenth house on the right. When I’ve brushed my teeth and headed downstairs, I find my mom and Shinwon sharing a cup of coffee. They wave and tell me there is more in the coffee pot and toast if I would like some. I grin and pour myself a cup and join the two at the table with a piece of toast in my mouth. My dad bounds down the stairs and sighs, “I’m gonna be late.” My mom shakes her head, “Honey, you live right across from the school. I hardly doubt you can’t make it on time.” He shakes his head and kisses her on the cheek. Changgu comes down the stairs with a whine, “I want to go back to bed!” We shake our heads at him, “It’s your last year in school. If anything you should be grateful.” Our parents laugh, “Yeah, when we were in high school, they canceled our senior year due to the Spanish Flu. So be glad.” Changgu groans, “I would much rather they do that--.” My dad shakes his head, “Alright, grab a cup of coffee, and we are off to school, bud.” Changgu groans again, and they leave the house in a rush.
My mom turns on the Morning Radio and says, “I heard you and the lead singer of that group you like so much,... What do they call it? Backseat Flinging?” I groan, “Shinwon---!” Shinwon shakes his head and says, “I did not tell her it was called that.” I shake my head, “We just made out.” She smirks, “Yeah, that’s why you’re wearing a turtleneck in the middle of Spring. I remember what it’s like to be a teenager!” I shake my head, “Are you sure?” It’s her turn to laugh with Shinwon. “Shinwon, you’re acting like you didn’t score a date last night!” Our mom’s jaw drops, “So you were just gonna leave this out, Ko Shinwon?” She scoffs, and I smirk at him, “Oh yeah, you should have seen him last night, Mom!” It’s his turn to groan as I fill her in on the details. We tell her how Changgu’s catch was a complete bust. She pouts, “I want my kids to be happy. Come on! These people need to step up their game. We’re the best-looking family on the whole block.” I laugh, “You got that right, Mom. Well, I gotta get goin’, or I’ll miss my chance.” They nod and bid me goodbye.
I walk down the street, trying to ease my nerves by looking at the different types of flowers. The daffodils are beautiful this time of year. I pluck one, hoping Hui and I can start a new beginning. I knock on the door, my nerves wanting me to turn around and run down the block with all I got. But I steal my nerves and smile as his father opens the door. With a warm timbre, he asks, “Who are you here to see?” I tell him softly, “Hui.” He yells for Hui to come downstairs that a good-looking person standing on the porch wants to see them. I hear loud footsteps resonate throughout the house. And quicker than lighting there, he stands in front of his dad. Thanking him and shuts the door behind him, I hand him the flower. His cheeks turn red as he accepts the flower as his sweater falls off his shoulder, revealing the hickeys I gave him. He catches me staring at them, and he smiles, “I was hoping to see you again.” I grin, I didn’t expect him to wear my hickeys proudly, but I’m pleasantly surprised. I blushed and traced them with my fingers, my heart beating out of its chest as my touch sent shivers down his spine. He places the daffodil behind his ear, and my heart warms at the act.
He leads me over to the porch swing and asks, “What do you say, if you’re free, of course. Would you want to spend the day together?” I shrug, “As long as you bring me home for dinner time at my folks' house. Then, yeah.” He smiles, “I can do that.” We split a milkshake at a diner, cranking out the latest hits from the jukebox that fills in our pauses. “No, you would not believe how fast Shinwon ratted me out to my mom that I was snogging you.” He laughs as I sip from our milkshake and tells me, “The band came over for some midnight snacks while my dad was still up. They went ‘Look at what your son was up to’ those bugs.” I laugh, “What did your dad say?” He grins, “Said, ‘Thank Lord Almighty that he’s finally gonna settle’.” I grin, “Is he right?” Hui scrunches his nose up and tilts his head from side to side with a smile playing on his face as he tells me, “Depends.” I playfully roll my eyes and say, “Okay, Dreamboat.” He smirks, “Ahh, you think I’m dreamy?” I shrug, “I don’t think you’re a boat if that is what you're asking.” We snicker as our fries come out, “You’re unreal.” I lightly pinch myself and let out a tiny ‘ow’ and tell him, “I feel very real to myself.” He grins, and that’s how we spend the rest of our day.
When we reach his house, I go to kiss his cheek, and he turns his head fast, and I kiss him by accident. He smirks as he pulls me in for another, “One is never enough.” I can’t stop the smile from dancing across my lips. I grab his collar pulling him deeper into the kiss. When we finally pull away, I ask, “So what do you say to going steady?” He leans his forehead against mine and says, “You got me pinned, Baby.” I smile and kiss his cheek successfully this time and rush off, “Well, I gotta split baby, I’ll see you in my dreams!” He yells out, “I’ll see you there!”

“put you on something new” - part 1
The frat!Steve x jock!Bucky College AU by @the1918 and @howdoyousleep3
Read the introduction
Steve feels like he’s riding the highest of highs.
It’s a high that’s got him high-fiving random people, smacking others on the shoulder. It’s a high that has him turning his hat around backwards without even realizing it. It’s a high like he’d felt watching the conference championship game last year when their team caught a game-winning interception in double overtime. Every other noise out of his mouth is some sort of chuckle and there’s nothing stopping them, not when “Lucky Bucky” Barnes is his beer pong partner and definitely not when they just fucking crushed their competition and came out on top in the tournament.
Adding to his hype is the fact that Steve’s the one who put together this whole fucking kegger and tournament together, and he’s damn near certain his name should go up in the Theta Phi Hall of Fame for this night alone.
When Clint had come by in French class on Thursday and told him that the Lucky Bucky — shining star of State’s football team — was planning to stop by their frat’s party Steve had damn near fallen out of his chair.
“If you’re fuckin’ with me I swear to—”
“No, dude I’m so serious. He asked me for a pencil in Stats and then saw my Theta hat and was like, ‘Heard about your party, sounds killer. Maybe I’ll come by.’ Bro... bro. Lucky fucking Bucky might come to the party on Saturday. Rogers, if—!”
“Yeah, Barton shit I know, shit!”
The pressure had been on. Steve was a natural at throwing parties, knew the exact number of kegs needed for the approximate number of people expected. He knew how to delegate, knew how to keep the alcohol flowing, knew how to ensure people had a safe and fun time. He had not once felt the pressure of throwing a kegger until he heard Lucky Bucky had expressed even the slightest interest in showing up to one.
This had to be the best fucking party, needed to go down in history, to be talked about for years to come. And all of that had rested on Steve’s shoulders.
Good thing Steve’s shoulders are jacked as shit and he can bench a solid 240 pounds, metaphorical or not.
Steve had been kind of worried that Bucky would be a pompous dick, that he’d leave their party early or shit talk it on the way out, and that wasn’t something Steve needed. But as soon as Bucky had arrived with his own tight crew, greeted Steve with a handshake and pulled him in close and tight for a bro hug, it had suddenly felt like everything was going to work out just fine.
Steve has to ensure everything is just that though, is fine, so he’d taken it upon himself to be the one to give Bucky a tour, to make sure Bucky always had fresh jungle juice in his hand, to make sure he’s not bombarded and cornered by star-struck freshmen. Bucky is surprisingly kind, exudes confidence and smoothness and natural energy, giving randos high-fives and laughing at their stories and recapping memories he’s somehow involved in even though he just met these people. Steve gets along with Bucky well, or at least wants to think he does.
Because this is the Lucky Bucky, the very same that has throttled the ass of every wide receiver he’s ever come across since the day he started playing football, is the reason behind some of Steve’s most hyped college memories. Bucky can get test answers from anyone if he wants to, can get Professors to up his grade with one smile, can get all the pussy he wants with just one wink. To say that Steve is envious of Bucky is an understatement, but to say that this night and winning a beer pong tournament with Lucky Bucky has been the highlight of his young life is not an exaggeration.
“Damn, you throw a kick-ass party, Steve,” Bucky says as he takes the fresh beer that Steve offers, the two of them taking a step outside to cool off.
Steve’s never gotten a better compliment, can’t stop from reaching out and squeezing at Bucky’s shoulder, can’t stop his, “Shit, thanks, man.”
The cool breeze feels amazing on his cheeks, sobers him up a little after a night of chugging the good victory beers, which taste infinitely better than the Coors Light in cheap solo cups.
“M’glad you showed up, wasn’t sure if you would or not,” Steve says before he can stop himself, must be a little tipsier than he thought he was if it’s got him opening his mouth in such a way. Bucky smiles, lets out a little laugh before bringing his cup up to his lips to take a drink. Steve finds himself watching the way Bucky’s throat moves as he drinks, the way his lips look a little slick when he pulls his cup away from them. Yeah, Steve’s definitely tipsy.
“Yeah, I’m glad too. The guys have been talking about these parties for a while, figured I’d come check it out myself now that the season is over.”
Steve will never feel as good as he does in this moment ever again in his life. Even if Natasha Romanoff showed up, the one chick he’s never been able to get into bed with him, and showed him her tits that still would not top how he feels in this moment.
Maybe Bucky would come back another time. Hell, maybe Bucky would want to hang out sometimes outside of a party such as this. That would be dope, would give Steve insane clout, would give him unfathomable access to girls and booze and the most incredible college experience he could ask for.
He’s gotta get Bucky’s number. So they can hang. Like bros.
Bucky’s hair looks nice, long enough to be thrown up into a bun, one he tousled together after Round 2 of the tournament. Should he grow his hair out? Would more girls dig him more? Would Bucky want to hang out with him if he had soft hair like that? Steve should grow his hair out.
“Bruh, is that Lucky Bucky?”
Steve has a love-hate relationship with freshmen. He loves their pledges, enjoys that sense of mentorship that the fraternity provides him as a junior, but he hates how fucking stupid they can be sometimes. Steve’s always saying, “Just use your fuckin’ brain!”, wishing he could maybe smack them on the side of the head and this is one of those times. He’s about to step between the few guys encroaching on Bucky when the brunette is the one that speaks first.
“Hey, Parker…how you doin’, baby?”
Steve knows he’s tipsy, but now he thinks he must be smashed out of his mind. That’s the only thing that could explain the onslaught of confusion he experiences at far too rapid of a pace. He doesn’t miss the way Peter Parker’s head ducks with a blush, doesn’t miss the way Bucky licks his lip a little, smirks into the movement. Steve knows that look, knows that tone of voice; it’s the only thing that got Sharon Carter into bed with him.
Parker stands at the back of the small group, nods dumbly in Bucky’s direction, doesn’t look up from the ground whatsoever. Steve’s never seen Parker so flustered, Steve always having to tell him to shut the hell up during meetings, and what the fuck is happening? The freshman mumbles something Steve misses and that’s probably because his head snapped in the direction of Bucky as soon as he heard the guy purr out “baby” at a frat dude.
No one but Steve seems to notice the odd tension of the moment, of Bucky’s forwardness. Words are exchanged as well as some high-fives, but Steve isn’t listening to what transpires. He can’t stop replaying how you doin’, baby in his head, can’t stop seeing that smirk, can’t stop watching Bucky’s mouth as he talks.
Plenty of dudes call other guys “baby”; that’s not weird. It’s not. And Steve isn’t a part of any sports teams aside from the flag football and disc golf groups they set up randomly throughout the year so who knows what goes on in the locker room or behind the scenes. Baby isn’t weird, Steve decides that in the moment, but what is weird is the way it sounded coming out of Bucky’s mouth.
What’s really weird is the way Steve is reacting to the way it sounded coming out of Bucky’s mouth. The way his stomach turns and the way he feels his chest heave in order to take a steady breath or two, the way his palms feel clammy.
The small group walks away then, some stumbling and more whispered hype, and Steve makes a mental note to figure out what the fuck was up with the moment he just witnessed by asking Peter later.
“Kid sucked my dick in the showers last week. S’got a pretty mouth, had a lot of enthusiasm, wanted to swallow and everything”
Fuck.
Bucky just...says it. He just casually comes out and tells Steve, a dude he just met hours before, that another guy sucked him off in the showers. A guy. A guy gave Bucky a blowjob. Parker gave Lucky Bucky a suckjob in the shower. Steve is pretty sure he stands there like an idiot with his mouth open, gaping like a fish, and when Bucky looks over at him and laughs his transparency is confirmed.
“What? Y’never suck a dick before, Rogers?”
Steve can’t even stop the hysterical bubble of overcompensated laughter that escapes out his open mouth. It’s loud and such an extreme reaction that Steve can’t take back, makes his cheeks heat right back up. He shuffles on his feet, bounces on the balls of them a few times, has another round of giggles as he chugs the rest of his beer.
“N-nah, I...fuck, yeah no I haven’t really—” Bucky saves him from this embarrassing shit storm of a spectacle but it doesn’t make Steve feel any more relieved.
“No shit? With lips like those?” Bucky looks genuinely surprised but then his face morphs into something almost predatory, all teeth and glee and plans.
“Well, that’s a goddamn cryin’ shame…”

The wind shifted after sunrise bringing with it a cold blast in from the arctic ocean. The biting chill made progress slow and arduous. Zuko was able to keep warm enough to function, but he was clearly the most miserable of the four men. Fortunately, the  cold was enough to make conversation a near impossibility, so Zuko only had to endure smug looks from Sokka instead of actual taunting.
“Not much farther now!” Bato called over the wind. “These tracks are fresher!”  Zuko peered down at the tracks and noted that they did seem deeper and clearer than the tracks they’d seen the day before. He was glad. The sooner they found their prey, the sooner they’d be able to go back to the village. The sooner they’d be back to the relative warmth and shelter of Hakoda’s home. The sooner Zuko and Katara would be able to make their engagement official. The thought of Katara and of a warm bed preceded by a warm meal was more than enough to motivate Zuko to keep moving forward.
“This is it,” Sokka whispered at Zuko. “First one to spot the prey and get first blood wins!” The young Tribesman sounded excited, but Zuko found he couldn’t care less who won their bet. His prize for returning home with a fresh catch would be Katara’s hand, no matter whose spear pierced it first. Still...Zuko thought his new brother could stand a lesson in humility, so he kept his eyes peeled.
By midday, the tracks they had been following were joined by others. The sea moose they were following was likely a lone male looking to mate with some of the females of the nearby pod, Bato explained to Zuko. A few miles later, they heard the guttural barks of the large animals. Sokka shot Zuko a triumphant smirk before he started to charge up the icy hill.
“Hey!” Zuko protested. He didn’t have time to do much else. Sokka had taken three steps before his foot slipped on a patch of ice, sending him skidding back downhill. Zuko let out a laugh before scrambling to the top of the hill. Hakoda and Bato made their way sedately up the hill behind him ,and Sokka, having righted himself crested last. Below them was an expanse of frozen beach dotted with dozens of sea moose. Zuko had never seen one up close, and the four men were still tens of yards away, but even at that distance, Zuko could see that they were all massive. His eyes fell on what seemed to be a brood of baby sea moose, and he guessed that the smallest among them would have been about the size of a well-fed twelve year old child.
“Well, the jobs half-done,” Bato said, clapping Zuko and Sokka on their shoulders. “So, which one’s coming home with us?” Zuko and Sokka scanned the beach, and nearly simultaneously pointed out two different sea moose and cried,
“That one!”
“Are you kidding?” Sokka laughed. “That one is so small, it’d never feed the whole village! Clearly we have to pick the big one.”
“And how do we get it back?” Zuko demanded. “That thing is almost as big as Appa! And its tusks are as big as we are!”
“Fellas!” Hakoda’s voice boomed out over what was developing into a bickering match. “Neither of those will work. The little is too small to bring home. And that big one is the bull moose, and it’s mating season. We want to leave him alone.”
“Right,” Zuko nodded. “That makes sense. You want to make sure that there will be lots of moose born later.”
“That and you don’t want to mess with a bull that size in heat,” Sokka snorted. He sighed and held his hands up in surrender. “Alright. Alright. I got a bit ahead of myself with that one.” Zuko huffed and scanned the beach again. He had been enjoying this trip, but he really wanted to go home. His gaze landed on a large sea moose near the edge of the colony. It was lumbering eagerly around the outskirts, nosing at cows randomly, and getting barked and snapped at for it’s troubles. Zuko guessed it was an interloper. It was about half the size of the large bull, but much larger than the moose that Zuko picked first. He raised a gloved hand and pointed it out to the others.
“How about that one?” he asked. The others looked in the moose’s direction and considered it a moment. They exchanged grins and turned back to Zuko.
“Good choice!” Hakoda complimented him. “He’s trying to take over the harem, so either way, he was probably going to die today. Bulls don’t take too kindly to intruders.
“I’d have picked him next,” Sokka assured the group. “But since this is for your engagement dinner, I’m glad you spotted him first.”
“That point goes to Zuko,” Bato announced, grinning at the younger man. “That puts you ahead by two.”
“That basically means I win, right?” Zuko asked, smirking at Sokka.
“Hey, I could still win!” he insisted. “I could!”
“We still have to catch and kill it,” Hakoda reminded them. “Let’s focus.”
Hunting the sea moose was made easier by the fact that their prey had caught the notice of the giant bull moose. He hauled his bulky frame with surprising agility and speed at the intruder sending the smaller bull fleeing away from the harem and closer to the waiting hunters.
“We’ll flush him,” Hakoda told Zuko and Sokka. “You two make the kill.” With that, they split into two teams. Hakoda and Bato circled around behind the moose as it pulled itself along the ice and hid among the snow banks. It was heading in the general direction of the sea, but it was taking the long way around the outside of the colony. When it was far enough separated from the rest of the moose, Hakoda and Bato leapt out of hiding, weapons drawn and bellowing warrior cried, and rushed in on the moose. With a startled yelp, the moose scrambled away from the men, falling right into the snare Sokka and Zuko had set.
It had been caught off guard, but unfortunately, the beast had enough momentum to duck Zuko’s spear. He had just barely missed having his foot impaled on the sea moose’s tusk. The beast reared up to attack again, but Zuko rolled away.
“Keep it busy!” he heard Sokka shout. Zuko huffed in annoyance as he scrambled to his feet. Had he really been demoted to live bait? He reached out to grab his spear, but his hand only grasped an icy mix of snow and gravel. Where had his weapon gone?
The sea moose let a loud, angry bark, and Zuko spotted his spear. It was on the ground in front of the sea moose, between it’s flippers and guarded by a pair of ivory tusks as long as Zuko’s arms and nearly twice as thick. Perfect.
From far away, Zuko could tell that the sea moose was big. But up close, it was massive! He was easily 15 feet long and bulging fat that concealed, Zuko knew, solid muscle beneath. Zuko was suddenly grateful they hadn’t tried for the head bull of the colony. This one was enough of a challenge. It lowered it’s head menacingly, and Zuko prepared to dive away again.
“You’re doing great buddy!” Sokka shouted. It didn’t distract the sea moose at all.
“I dropped my spear!” Zuko said.
“Great!” Sokka crowed. “That means first spear is mine!”  With a grunt Sokka hurled his spear at the sea moose, and for a moment Zuko thought he would miss, but the sea moose lifted it’s head to attack Zuko and spear sunk into it jugular cleanly. Sokka pumped his fist in victory, and then stepped away from the thrashing animal. Hakoda and Bato came in from behind the sea moose and stabbed the sea moose as close to it’s heart and lungs as they could get.
“Zuko!” Hakoda tossed a cudgel to him, and Zuko managed to catch it with minimal fumbling. “Hit it as hard as you can over the head.”
Zuko nodded once and turned his attention to the sea moose thrashing on the ground. It’s movements were erratic, but slowing as it bled out. Zuko considered the sea moose’s skull for a moment. It was thick bone, made to withstand fights with other heavy, tusked sea moose, but Zuko aimed carefully, and brought the cudgel down hard on it’s temple. The blow reverberated through Zuko’s shoulder and back painfully, but the bone crumbled under the cudgel and the sea moose went still.
For a moment, it seemed as if the entire world had gone silent, and the only sound to be heard was the heavy breathing of the four men as they stood over their kill. There was a slowly expanding puddle of blood. The still warm liquid steamed in the frigid air, and the coppery, briny smell of it hung over the hunting party. Bato broke the silence first, murmuring a prayer of thanks for a successful hunt. Then, with that ritual complete, the wind stirred again, and the distant barks and grunts of the rest of the sea moose colony brought them back to the present.
“Alright!” Sokka cheered. “First spear! That’s gotta be worth at least ten points!”
“You get one point for each task,” Bato said. “But it was a close one. The groom to be won, though. Congratulations, Fire Lord Zuko.” Bato reached out and clasped Zuko’s arm with a wide and warm smile. “Welcome to the family.”

A part 3 to Katsuki’s nightmare. Click for Part 1 and Part 2
After that weird outburst of laughter, Todoroki starts avoiding him. Katsuki can't even blame the guy, considering how out of character that was for him. The most likely culprit for it would be that mysterious lover of his. Katsuki blames giddiness over moving in together or some shit.
He doesn’t want anything to do with that so he ignores it like he does everything else he can’t be bothered with, Todoroki keeps shying away from him, and Kuri is happily purring on his chest from time to time.
It all comes crashing down on him when Midoriya accosts him on a Friday evening while he’s making his way back home. The guy just so happened to see him and decided to stick around, apparently.
And he keeps making small talk as if Katsuki is interested in his opinion of the weather or whether he’s eaten or not. He talks and talks, without any input from Katsuki.
“Shut up,” Katsuki finally speaks up, not able to hold out any longer. “What the fuck is wrong with you?”
“Oh, thank god,” Midoriya says, apparently sheepish now, when he was talking a mile a minute just two seconds ago. “I was afraid you were ignoring me.”
“It’s exactly what I was doing,” Katsuki grits out but starts walking again. “Stop following me. What are you, a stalker?”
“Actually,” Midoriya starts and falls silent just as suddenly. Katsuki can feel a headache coming. Anything the ass does only fuels Katsuki’s bad opinion of him.
“Spit it out. You had no problem talking my ear off ‘till just now, didn’t you?”
“Right,” Midoriya mutters, hurrying to fall into step with him. Katsuki notes with satisfaction that he’s got a few inches on Midoriya. It’s not like the man is small, it’s just that Katsuki and Todoroki are on the rather tall end of the spectrum. He’s grown quite a bit since high school.
He hates how Todoroki is just a smidgen taller than him but that’s easy to ignore, when Todoroki looks like a damn bean sprout and Katsuki prides himself in a healthy workout routine.
“I was wondering if Shouto talked to you yet…” Midoriya finally spills and Katsuki immediately regrets asking.
“No,” he says.
“Right, I thought so-”
“That’s not what I fucking meant.” Katsuki turns on him which causes Midoriya to fall back a step. Looking down on him, Katsuki declares, “I ain’t moving in with some asshole who can’t be bothered to name his damn cat.”
“Wha?” Midoriya splutters, flushing. Then, before Katsuki can truly go off on him, Midoriya holds up a hand and manages to gain space without pushing him away. “No!”
“No, what?” Katsuki asks, annoyed that he fell back that one step. “No, you aren’t a horrible asshole or no you didn’t leave Kuri with the most irresponsible human plant ever?”
“I named her. I just wasn’t around to call her by her name! I found her on the night before my business trip and had no choice but to leave her with Shouto since we were out having dinner together. And then Shouto told me you named her, too!”
“The fuck?” Katsuki asks, frowning. He’s starting to get a better picture of the situation but it doesn’t make him any happier.
“She was abandoned and it was raining. I was a little drunk, I must admit, but I couldn’t leave her alone and my apartment doesn’t allow pets, not to mention that I had a business trip overseas the next day. Shouto agreed to look after her ‘cause I couldn't make other arrangements on such short notice.” After vomiting all that out, Midoriya takes a deep breath and narrows his eyes back at Katsuki. “I appreciate all you did for Ki- Kuri, I do. But you can’t ju-”
“What did you name her?” Katsuki interrupts him.
“What?” Midoriya asks, bewildered.
“You said you named her. What?”
“I want you to know, I named her first,” Midoriya says and deflates with it. “I named her the day after I found her and Shouto knew, actually. I texted him.”
Of course his damn roommate knew. He probably forgot ‘cause he never bothered to interact with Kuri past the feeding and cleaning of the litter box. And apparently a visit to the vet.
“Just spill already.”
“Kiri.”
“Kiri?”
“Yeah.”
“You sure it’s not Kuri.”
“I named her first,” Midoriya insists and starts walking again. “Kiri because she’s gray and the first thing that came to mind was fog.”
Katsuki snorts, but follows anyway. “Kuri is better. And she reacts to it.” It’s his win. Also Kiri reminds him too much of Kirishima. He can’t associate it with Kuri. It might also be another reason why Todoroki didn’t bother to call her that.
“You won’t know if she will react to Kiri or not, until you try calling her that.”
“Hah. We can try right now and see you fail miserably.”
“I saved her. She will react to anything I call her.”
Katsuki snorts and finally overtakes Midoriya, to lead the way to his apartment. “She saw you for all of a night. I looked after her for close to three months. The only one she will play favourites with is me.” Which is true, since Kuri still hates Todoroki.
Feeling his imminent victory, Katsuki doesn’t even bother getting angry about Midoriya’s obvious bait. The loser was aiming to end up at his apartment from the beginning but Katsuki could care less. Once he proves his point, he will pawn Midoriya off to Todoroki.
He’s grinning for the rest of their short trip and once he unlocks the door and bends to take his shoes off, he can hear the cautious steps coming towards them. His grin only grows wilder when, after making sure that it’s not Todoroki at the door, Kuri comes to greet him with a very soft mewl and an obvious invitation for scratches.
So, Katsuki reaches out to give her these scratches as a reward for the sweet victory she will give him. “Hey there, Kuri.”
When he turns around to boast about it, he stops short at the soft look in Midoriya’s eyes and the small smile on his face. “She looks healthy and happy,” he observes.
Katsuki feels an itch at the back of his neck, his grin falling off his face. He leaves Kuri at the door to stare at Midoriya as he stomps to his room and discards his bag on the ground. “Of course, she is. Who the fuck is looking after her, Todoroki?” Katsuki mutters, changing into comfortable clothes before he goes to wash his hands.
He’s not good with shit like that, alright.
When he’s done settling in, he realizes that Midoriya and Kuri are still staring at each other in the hallway. “Move your ass in and close the door,” Katsuki tells him, annoyed at the whole situation. Someone just had to ruin the mood.
“Right, sorry,” Midoriya whispers, trying not to spook the cat but there is nothing to spook.
“Kuri,” Katsuki calls out, finally feeling a sense of satisfaction again when her right ear twitches before she turns and follows him into the living room. He can feel Midoriya’s eyes on them as they leave him standing there.
By the time Midoriya joins them in the living room, Katsuki has settled in with Kuri curled up on his lap. “Go on. Try and fail,” he goads, leaning back and stretching his arms out.
Midoriya only spares him a glare before he sighs and crouches down, leaning on the balls of his feet in front of Katsuki, to be at eye level with her. “Hello there,” he starts but doesn’t get a response.
Katsuki doesn’t bother holding back a grin. That’s a good girl for ya.
“Remember me?” Midoriya tries, leaning farther forward and slowly reaching a hand out. “Hey,” he whispers before he says, softly, “Kiri.”
Kuri looks up at that just as the front door slams shut, spooking Kuri who then jumps up and off Katsuki’s lap to step on Midoriya’s head and fall gracefully onto the ground before disappearing. Midoriya loses balance and falls forward into Katsuki’s lap before Katsuki can stop him and Todoroki appears at the entrance to the living room just as Katsuki manages to get a hold of Midoriya’s shoulders.
Todoroki stares at them. Midoriya manages to lift his face out of Katsuki’s lap and Katsuki marvels at the expression of distaste on Todoroki’s face. At the end of this shitshow, he will at least remember that there are things that Todoroki dislikes other than his father.
“Yo,” he calls out because he can’t be bothered to save this train wreck. He’s zen like that. This is the universe telling him he can’t win it all. Life’s gotta be fair and hand him shit like this every now and then.
“Shouto,” Midoriya greets in a strangled voice.
Todoroki falls back into his plant routine and wipes the expression off his face. “Midoriya,” he greets back before his eyes meet Katsuki’s. “I didn’t mean to disturb.” And then he takes off down the hallway to his room.
“Shouto, wait!” Midoriya calls out, a hand on Katsuki’s thigh to push himself up. Only his damn hand slips and Midoriya falls, sliding his hand right down and crushing it into Katsuki’s crotch.
Katsuki flinches so hard he sees black for a second before the pain really sets in and he rolls down the couch, hand protecting his crotch from anymore assault. He thinks Midoriya screams or maybe that’s him but the pain is too deafening to make sure. He feels like a raw nerve suddenly exposed and assaulted.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I was trying to get up. Are you alright? Need me to call an ambulance?” Midoriya mutters with fluttering hands, taking a step closer and then back again. Katsuki would laugh at his stupid dance but the pain is real. He fucking hurts so bad he wants to blow Midoriya up to show him just how fucking bad.
Again he laments the fact that he can’t magically blow shit up.
His own private hell only gets worse when Todoroki comes back into the living room and frowns at them. He stares at Katsuki before looking at Midoriya who is still apologizing and Katsuki just knows that whatever the fuck Todoroki’s about to say will make his brain hurt but the real pain in his dick stops him from stopping Todoroki.
“Did you bite it?” Todoroki asks Midoriya.
Katsuki screams.
