“Alright, fine. But we sleep on the couch. And I want that big green blanket. And you have to snuggle me because—”  They freeze. It’s hard to immediately interpret the noise he hears then, but it’s a noise that has them both stopping in their tracks on the stairs. It sounds like banging, then like fireworks.
