It all started when...
Tumblr media
A/N: hey guys!! i'm back with new oneshot. this one includes mentions of bullying too. i have a lot of ideas about bullied reader, prolly cuz i was bullied myself, and i kinda find inspiration of it now😂
Summary: Russo brothers "host a show" for avengers cast, and they see beginings of cast in MCU.
Warnings: my broken humor (this is a HUGE warning), mention of bullying but not angsty way
Set anytime between Age of ultron and Infinity war.
You were at the show Russo brothers "hosted". It was basically occasional game between avengers cast they would post on youtube, but oh well.
There were: Evans, Mackie, Sebastian, Tom Hiddleston, Scar, RDJ, Renner, Hemsworth and you. As only teen actress on the team, everyone wanted to sit next to you. This time, however, you were between Seb and Tom. Evans was next to Seb, while Renner and Hemsworth were still bickering about who will sit next to Tom.
There was also a huge monitor across from huge sofa you were on.
Joe and Antony were yet to tell you what's going on.
"Soooo" Joe started after introducing everyone to camera. "tonight we are going to go to the beginnings of the avengers cast. Specifically events between employing them, and telling the world about their roles."
All of you looked confused, so Anthony continiued.
"MCU has a certain policy, where we do not allow actors to immidiately talk about their roles. So to ensure this for the lead role actors, we hire some kind of, let's say private detectives. They basically film you in public places, for evidence if you break the contract."
Everyone was staring at them in shock. You were shocked, how did you never notice?
"So, tonight we are gonna see a few funny incidents. Of course none of you told anything, you wouldn't be here tonight if you did."
"So let's start. Chris, you had hard time hiding your role from your brother Scott, didn't you?"
and the madness began
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|||||||timeskip cuz why not|||||||
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
You just finished watching a particulary funny video, where Sebastian had to tell him mum he didn't get the role. She was threatening to beat up Russo brothers with a broomstick, claiming that "MY SEBBY IS THE BEST ONE THEY WILL EVER GET!".
The laughter died down, and they moved on.
"Y/N." Joe began. Ah, it was your time. You couldn't wait to see what do they have in store for you.
"You are the youngest of the avengers cast. You were 1st year of high school when you got this role, correct?"
"Yes." you said with a smile.
"We know that only you and one more girl from your town auditioned, and both got roles. Her role wasn't big, crossing the street in Spider Man movie. But yours is one of the most important. How did your friends find out you were both accepted?"
"Well, you posted actors statistics. And you wrote there were 2 kids from (your/hometown). You said one was the lead role, and other was not. They knew it was only us 2 on auditions, so it was pretty obvious. I didn't tell anything tho." you said. It wasn't easy speaking about other girl, since she was your biggest bully. But you didn't want to talk about that, so you went on with the story.
"We know you didn't. The other girl was very hard to cope with, from what we saw." on this Tom Hiddleston, Seb and 2 Chrises turned their heads towards you, faces laced with concern. You didn't look at them, hoping video wouldn't show too much. You never told your castmates about bullying, thinking you'd annoy them or something.
"Let's watch it, then." your train of toughts was stopped when Anthony turned on the big screen again, video starting to play.
You were in school, sitting on a bench with your friends, who were bothering you to admit that you got the lead role in MCU.
"But I didn't! I told you. I'm just an extra, what is so hard to believe in that?" you answered for 100th time that day. You couldn't tell them the truth, out of fear of getting fired before anything even started.
"Oh, nothing except that (your/bullys/name) got the lead role then." your b/f/n retorted.
"Cmon, Y/N, you really want us to believe that? That they would choose mindless, dumb bully instead if you." other friend of yours asked.
"How would they know she is bullying me? Why would they care after all, that's of none importance out there. But maybe she is better actress? Or they just like her better? There's nothing wrong with that."
Your friends didn't even get to answer that when (your/bully's/name) walked by, bragging about her lead mcu role (she didn't get) to anyone who wanted to listen. And there were plenty of people who wanted to. She knew you couldn't say anything, so she lied to everyone, saying she got the lead role. You and your friends cought a little bit of her "filming adventures". (filming wasn't even started then)
"...and then after Sebby showed up in my trailer, he kissed me so passionately. You see my make up is smeared, right? It was him."
"But didn't you say you got home yesterday afternoon?" one girl questioned.
"Oh, but he was just so passionate, I couldn't take it off. He texted me this morning, saying he couldn't take my lipstick off either. Tomorrow I have a kissing scene with Tom Hiddleston to shoot. And oh my God, that Chris Evans was just starring at me the WHOLE time. I think he likes me..." and their conversation faded away as they went on.
Your friends were giving you pointed looks.
"Okay can you now see why we don't believe you?" one of them asked.
You just stared helplessly at them, trying to think of an excuse.
"I'm just gonna. Go. Homework and some other stuff that I'm totally not using to get out of this conversation." you said, now half joking, knowing that if there was a hope of them believing you, it was now gone.
The video ended, everyone laughing their heads off at the stupidity of that girl.
"I just want to declare that I kissed no minors in anyone's trailer." Sebastian said seriously, after laughing.
"And I didn't ogle anyone." Evans added.
"And I most definately didn't shoot a kissing scene with minor, ever." Hiddleston piped up.
"I think that is pretty clear. We found out later on, that her family payed, just so she could pass by in movie since she was so untalented. Since then, we have to watch over every cast member's audition, no matter how small their role is." Joe said.
You laughed some more, and then watched RDJ's oldest son and his reaction.
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|||||||timeskip again cuz me lazy|||||||
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
You and other cast members went for drinks afterwards. They all took some cocktails, and you were sipping your orange juice. Suddenly you felt a hand on your shoulder. It was Evans, looking kinda serious.
"In that videk your friends mentioned bullying. Why didn't you tell anyone that you were getting bullied?" he asked. Suddenly all eyes were on you.
"Well, it just didn't seem like a big thing. I didn't want to bother anyone with my petty problems." you said and smiled a little.
"Kiddo, you ain't bothering us. we are family here, we talk aboyt everything. Please ask for help if you ever need it." Jeremy said.
Everyone else voiced their agreement. You talked a little more about it, but then started joking around, talking about random stuff. The night was great, and you were happy to have them there with you.

I keep seeing people say that Yelena didn’t know that Nat and Clint were best friends, but here’s the thing; even in Black Widow, it’s pretty clear she knows at least roughly. if they talked literally at all between Black Widow and Infinity War, Yelena knows very clearly
but she’s grieving. and she’s jealous that Clint got to know Nat in ways that she never did. and it’s so much easier if she has someone to blame, because if she has someone to blame, there’s something she can do about it. and because she knows Clint and Nat were best friends, he’s the perfect person for her to blame
because otherwise she has to admit how much he meant to Nat
if she’s mad, she doesn’t have to accept that Clint is grieving as much as her. if she’s mad, she doesn’t have to accept that she wasn’t Nat’s only family. if she’s mad, she doesn’t have to accept that this random Avenger—who, in Black Widow, it was made very clear she had some pent-up resentment toward because she felt like Nat abandoned her for the Avengers—wasn’t just a stand in until Nat accepted that her Black Widow family was her family
Yelena knew perfectly well that Nat and Clint were best friends, it was just easier for her to accept that he’d turned on her than that he missed her just as much as she did

yes “Is this what heroes do? Arrest their mother on Christmas?” is a stupid line. you know what else it is? a really fucking accurate depiction of how abusers talk. it’s stupid and over the top, as an actual thing to say, but it’s not bad writing. it’s fucking good writing. because that manipulation? that’s exactly how a lot of parents talk to their kids. and it looks stupid, because Kate sees right through it. but how many times didn’t she, before? because I'd bet it’s a lot. and so her standing up? saying hey, that’s stupid? that’s powerful

Random Sigyn Dialogue Dump Nobody Asked For
Tumblr media
A/N: These are just a series of random bits of dialogue and incomplete scenes I’ve strung together to integrate my interpretation of Sigyn in the MCU.
I’ve been thinking about her and Loki for a while and just wanted to get all my thoughts out there. Hopefully some of you find it entertaining.
Pre-Thor
“Theoric,” Thor greeted with a beaming smile, “my friend, there is no need for formalities.  What has kept you away all these years? And who is this lovely creature you’ve brought with you?”
“The answer to both your questions is one and the same,” Theoric replied.  “May I present my fiancé Lady Sigyn, daughter of Lord Iwaldi and Lady Freya.”
Sigyn gave them each a low curtsy.
“My princes,” she said softly.
Loki was taken by surprise.  He had expected a light fluttering voice to escape from her lips, instead it was low, smooth and elegant more fitting of a queen than a guard’s prize.
Thor wasted no time taking Sigyn’s hand in his and kissing her knuckles lightly.
“You truly are your mother’s daughter,” Thor said kindly.
She gave a polite smile.  “Thank you.”
Loki in turn took her hand in his and kissed it gently.  “My lady,” he greeted before looking up at her.  There was no blush on her cheek, nor did she look away with embarrassment or false modesty.  She looked him in the eye and smiled the same polite smile she did Thor.
“Your highness,” she curtsied back.
Loki very much wanted to keep his eyes and hand connected to hers, but he looked away and dropped her hand before society dictated his gaze and grip inappropriately long.
——————————————————————————
“Why do I have the sinking sensation you’re going to cause me nothing but trouble?” Sigyn whispered.
“Thinking about running away?” he teased.
“No. To be honest, my life could use a little more trouble.”
“Famous last words.”
Thor
“Do you think he will make a good king?”  he asked, occupying himself with playing with their intertwined hands rather than look at her.
She didn’t speak for a moment looking down as well.
“I think that Thor still has a lot to learn when it comes to being King,” she sighed. “He can be arrogant and has penchant to show off, not mention his needs to learn how to heed advice.”
Loki nodded his head as she spoke agreeing whole heartedly with her words.
“That being said,” she continued, “I would say the same of you. “
Loki looked up at her with creased brows.  “Is that so?”
“Yes,” she said looking him in the eye.  “You’re clever Loki, extraordinarily so.  The problem is you know it, and you let it get to your head.  When your ego is bruised you try everything in you power to rectify it, by playing tricks.  And Odin knows you need to listen to me more often than you do.”
Loki’s face remained neutral, but Sigyn could tell he was at least a little insulted by her words.  She placed a gentle hand on his cheek.
“But I still think you would make a great king. You would grow into your role, as will Thor now.  Your father is still alive to guide him.  And you are much too clever to allow him to do anything too reckless.”
Loki allowed a small smile to escape his lips.
“Sometimes I wish you weren’t sensible.”
“One of us has to be.”
Thor: The Dark World
“Can I ask you a question?” Jane asked.
“You want to know why him.”
Jane gave a slightly guilty look, but Sigyn quickly consoled her with an understanding smile.
“I’ve been asking myself that question for some time now,” she admitted. “The simple answer? He could make me laugh.”
“And the complicated answer?”
She gave a dry laugh. “How much time to you have?”
——————————————————————————
“No!” she screamed, “no, no, no, no, Loki stay with me.”
Loki gave a weak smile up at her.  “Giving me orders until the end.”
“Only because I always know what’s best.  Just hold on, you’re going to be fine.”
“I’m sorry Sigyn,” Loki said.
“You can’t,” she begged.
Thor: Ragnarok
“You were worried about me?!  You were dead!  I saw you die!”
“Sigyn, how long have you been here?”
“I don’t know, a five, six months, what does that have to do with anything?”
“Dear…Malekith, the dark elves, everything…that was four years ago.”
“You’re lying.”
“I’m not.”
“Stop it! Stop lying!”
“Sigyn, listen, listen to me,” Loki said, taking her by the shoulders. “You disappeared.  Heimdall couldn’t find you.  I couldn’t find you. I looked everywhere. I tried everything.  I thought you were dead.”
“How did you get here?”
“It’s a long story.”
“I’ve got time.”
“I fell out of the Bifrost.”
“How?”
“That’s another long story.”
“Then start at the beginning.  Start at the very beginning and explain to me how you’re not dead and what you’ve been doing for the past four years.”
“Dear…”
“What. Did. You. Do?”
——————————————————————————
“You said you would go with me anywhere,” Loki said. “That if I asked it of you, we would run off together and find a corner of the universe to call our own. Where nobody knew our names.  Well, we’re here and I’m asking you; please stay.”
“I also told you if you made a move against Asgard, I would stop you.”
“I didn’t move against Asgard.”
“You imprisoned Odin and let me believe you were dead for years! You made your choice. It’s not something you can just go back on.”
“Do you no longer love me?”
“Loki, I adore you. But, I can’t give you what you ask.  You’ve abused the privilege.”
“What can I do? What can I do to earn your trust again?”
“There isn’t one thing you can do. I’m tired Loki.  I’m just so tired of the same routine over and over again.  I’m tired of going in circles.”
“I am sorry.”
“I wish I could believe that.”
“Then let me try and prove it.  At least give me the chance.”
“I’m not sure you have the time.”
“I don’t care how long it takes. Just so long as I can try.”
He reached a hand to her and placed it on her cheek.  Only, there was no cheek.
Loki’s eyes widened as he hand shifted right through her skin as if it were air.
The illusion of Sigyn only smiled.
“Like I said, I don’t think you have the time.”
He stared at her a mixture of confusion, frustration and hurt streaming across his features.
“Ta, love.” And with a wink, she disappeared in a shower of golden light.
——————————————————————————
“It varies from moment to moment.”
“Really, Loki? No need to be dramatic.”
“You know him too, huh?” Bruce quipped.
“She’s my wife,” Loki clarified, with a not so subtle glare.
“Ex-wife,” Sigyn countered.
“You haven’t divorced me yet.”
“You died, twice, I didn’t think I had to.”
——————————————————————————
“There was one time when we were children, he transformed himself into a snake, and he knows I love snakes.  So I went to pick the snake up to admire it and he transformed back into himself and he was like, “Blah, it’s me!” and he stabbed me. We were eight at the time.”
A muffled snort came form Sigyn which she quickly tried to cover with her hand.
Bruce looked at her, appalled. “Are you laughing?”
“No,” Sigyn said, laughing.  “No, not at all, it’s just...so sad.”
——————————————————————————
With a wave of her hand, a glimmer of gold light cascaded down her body transforming her into just another face in the crowd.
Bruce’s eyes widened. “Woah, can you do me?”
She glanced at him with a raised eyebrow. “Will it make you feel better?”
——————————————————————————
“Wait, are you asking to be nice or are you actually interested?” Bruce asked.
“No, I’m really interested,” Sigyn insisted.
“Oh no, that is much worse.”
——————————————————————————
“It’s you, me, my sister, and the big guy. Although, probably not sister for much longer.”
“Oh no Thor, you divorce husbands, not brothers.”
“You sure it wouldn’t be weird.”
“No, I don’t think so.”
——————————————————————————
“That’s not funny.”
“Really, then why are you smiling?”
Avengers: Infinity War
“That’s the Cloak of Levitation,” Sigyn said with wide eyes. “How did ou get your hands on that?”
“It chose me, how do you know what it is?”
“Asgard keeps a record of magical artifacts from across the realms.  I didn’t realize Midgard housed such artifacts.  This is incredible.  You are one of a kind.”
“Thank you.”
“I wasn’t talking to you.”
——————————————————————————
“Who is she,” Tony cut in, finally noticing the only woman in the room.
“Oh yeah, this is Sigyn,” Bruce introduced.  “She’s Thor’s sister.”
“Sister?”
“In law,” Sigyn clarified.  “I think you for your efforts Doctor, but I don’t think we’ll have time for revelations later.”
“Please tell me Thor has another brother or sister I don’t know about,” Tony grumbled.
“Well, he does technically,” Sigyn said.  “She’d dead now.  It’s a long story.  But, to answer your question, I am married to exactly the one you’re thinking of.  I can only promise you I knew nothing of Loki’s actions on Midgard.  They were as much a surprise to you as they were to me.  I’m here of offer my help.”
Tony stared at her in bewilderment, but before he could reply, Bruce stepped in.
“I trust her Tony.  Thor trust her.  She’s got as much a reason to fight Thanos as any of us.  We need her help.”
Tony looked to his friend, studying him carefully before turning his sights on Sigyn.
“Okay.”
——————————————————————————
“For what, nearly sending me into space,” Strange bit back.
“We could have easily let you,” Sigyn said, tightly.
Strange finally turned his attention to her.
“You said yourself, a dead man’s spell is nearly impossible to break,” she continued, coolly. “If we were to let you drift into the vacuum of space, well...needle, meet haystack.”
He narrowed his eyes, taking a careful step toward her. “You’re really not making a good case for yourself.”
“And yet, you’re still breathing,” she countered. “I’ll take that thank you now.”
“I don’t owe you anything.”
“Of course not. Just your life.”
—————————————————————————
“Trust me, dark haired magicians who think they’re the center of the universe is not exactly new to me.”

Falcon and Winter Soldier Episode 1 and 2 breakdown.
My oh My, Marvel is really giving us some sort of like a reality check in here. They added twists here that our current society are facing to hopefully “probably” teach us about our humanity as an individual.
In Episode 1, the series started out with Sam being on a mission in Tunisian Airspace to save Captain Vassant, who is now help hostage by LAF, there’s no reference to LAF in the comic, but here in MCU – it is describe as a criminal organization who is taking advantage of the commotion of the reverse blip in order to make profit. And here, Batroc makes his appearance once again after his first appearance in Captain America and Winter Soldier. Just a quick fact, Georges Batroc is portrayed by Georges St-Pierre, who not only shares his first name, but St-Pierre is a MMA Champion with a record of 28 matches of 26 wins and 2 losses, *woooot*, no wonder his moves are so fluid.
Moving on, Sam is now in Washington giving his speech as he surrenders Captain America’s shield, in which he believed will be put in the museum in honor and respect for Steve Rogers, but little did her know, there was a conspiracy behind it (which we’ll discuss later). James Rhodes still tried to talk some sense out of him, but Sam’s always reply with “It feels like it belongs to someone else. That someone else is Steve.” But let’s try to pay attention to what Rhodey say’s to him back.
World’s a crazy place right now. People are… Well, nobody’s stable. Allies are now enemies. Alliances are all torn apart. The world’s broken. Everybody is just looking for somebody to fix it.
It makes me think that Rhodey is specifically referring to Wanda when he said nobody is stable, not the people of the world specifically, because when we speak to someone, we know that everyone else are experiencing hardship, but we will always use someone as an example for the conversation, but on this case, they avoided referencing Wanda directly. Also the series takes place “months after the blip”, we don’t have the exact timeline yet, but we do know it takes place after WandaVision (two months earliest) and before Spider-Man Far From Home. So Rhodey receiving a report of Wanda’s actions, and Vision’s revival and Westview rampage is not impossible. The “Allies are now enemies. Alliances are all torn apart.” reference can have double meaning, considering what they did in WandaVision where they made the audience feel there’s more to that statement. But this can be an easter egg to Dr. Strange where they use the same tagged line for the movie prep while the alliances could referring to Avengers itself (though it already is, but they still considered that HQ as their home till Thanos destroyed it), S.H.I.E.L.D (we know this is not the same SHIELD of Nick Fury as he is now in space as hinted in SM:FFH), S.W.O.R.D (with Hayward abusing his authorities), and possibly the Sokovia Accords because of what Wanda and Vision did in Westview. But as I said, because of what Marvel did in WandaVision, in the end , they could probably just dismiss it as some government related stuff.
We now have Barnes who is reliving in his nightmares of the killing. Plate Number 10872 FQ is a reference to Marvel Comics called Introducing the New Captain America and Bucky that was publish in October 1987, where John Walker is now the new Captain America as shown at the end of the episode. Other think I actually like about Bucky’s therapy session was when the doctor asked for his phone, he is using a flip phone, not just any flip phones, looks like a AT&T Cingular Flip 2 (I guess it pays off learning about phones because I used to work for them, ahahaha), and since its year 2023-24 in this timeline, it’s quite fun to see this small detail done so perfectly because AT&T no longer service 2G signals since January 2017 (if I remember it correctly), to give way into 5G services. Anyway, this attention to detail about Bucky using a 4G flip phone is pretty amazing. And how am I guessing this is an AT&T phone? Well, in Infinity War, the phone Steve gave Tony is also another AT&T Flip Phone which I think is a Z223 (a 3G flip phone – not to be confused with Z222 which is a 2G version and both phones look identical). It’s quite funny actually that AT&T, who is the parent company of WarnerMedia (WB who owns DC) is very present here.
Then now we see Sam going back to his family whom he hasn’t visited for quite some time. Here he sees the struggle of his sister, and tried to offer his help. We can probably assume as per his behavior that when they go to the bank, their loan request will be approve because of his affiliations of saving the world and for being the Falcon, but reality check slapped him hard, the guy didn’t even bother listening to their plans and straight out denied their loan application – which was made clear in Episode 2 as to what the problem could actually be.
We now also see Bucky answering the set-up date Yori made for him with the woman name Leah, who works as a waitress at the Japanese Bar/Restaurant called Izzy. As their conversation proceeded, Bucky ran away to find Yori under the pretense of owing him his lunch, when in reality, it was his guilt of killing his son who became witness of his assassination.
Episode 1 ends by introducing the new Captain America, holding the shield Sam surrendered in the museum.
Episode 2 started with John Walker visiting his Alma Mater, Custer’s Grove High School. His full introduction even played Captain America’s theme song only re-arrange to match modern era. During his interview for GMA, he mentions that “I’m not Tony Stark, I’m not Doctor Banner, okay? I don’t have the flashiest gadgets, I don’t have super strength. But what I do have is guts.” Mentioning these lines could probably a way of him to get the sympathy of the people, by saying I’m not Tony Stark is like an indication that he doesn’t have the money, brains (to invent), or Iron Man suit that can make him powerful. By saying he’s not Doctor Banner, who have seven PhD’s and can transform himself into the Hulk, and debatable as the strongest Avenger, he can make almost like an assurance to the people that as an ordinary human, he have the guts to fight to the best of his abilities.
Bucky who is watching the whole interview, have a smirk on his face for disbelief and disappointment that his best friend’s shield is now in the hands of a wanna be. It then cuts to Sam who is also in disbelief that everywhere he go, he is seeing the face an unfamiliar guy wielding the shield that Cap gave him. He got ambushed by Bucky to told him he shouldn’t have surrendered the shield to which Sam replied “No, of course I didn’t know that was gonna happen. You think it didn’t break my heart to see them march him out there and call him the new Captain America?” – which I believe is his wholehearted feeling as he was cheated and betrayed by the government. But let us also pay attention to what Sam said after Bucky told him “This isn’t what Steve want.”
Oh my God. So what do you want me to do? Call America and tell ‘em I change my mind?
It’s easy to assume that the government and him probably had a conversation about becoming the new Captain America, but more than likely he declined, that’s why in Episode 1, Rhodey told him “I see you’re gonna make me ask. Why didn’t you take up the mantle?” Well, it’s probably more complex than his “It feels like it belongs to someone else.” –but we’ll talk about it in a bit.
I find it really funny about Bucky jumping off the plane feeling nervous, yelling even. I think the purpose of the director and writers are doing this is basically to give Bucky the opportunity or making the audiences feel that, even though he was an emotionless, robotic-like assassin, he can change and by including the rules his therapist gave him, can help him gain his humanity back.
1.    Can’t do anything illegal.
2.    Nobody gets hurt.
3.    Unspoken (probably to introduce himself not as the Winter Soldier but Bucky Barnes or just simply smile). Dr Raynor only says that “The whole point of making amends is to fulfill rule number three.”
Also I really just wanna guess who those under 10 contact numbers are. We are sure its Dr. Rayner and Sam, I’m guessing it also has Steve’s old number, I wanna guess T’Challa too, so that’s four of them. Hmmmm, can’t really think of anybody else.
By the way, the SMILING thing. Right now, Bucky’s smiling is so unnatural, but even so, if he keeps on doing it, one day, he can smile naturally. And now we can also see him showing another kind of emotion, NERVOUSNESS – when he was about to jump down the plan. I'm pretty sure if he is his former Winter Soldier, he won’t even feel the slightest nervousness jumping off the plane, let alone landing gracefully, in contrast to here where he landed, let’s admit it, quite shamefully, even Torres will surely agree with me here. Then there's also the AGGRAVATION towards the new Captain America because of the shield. And the most important part of his humanity that’s resurfacing is his GUILT or CONSCIENCE, where his nightmare and Yori’s presence speaks very loudly.
While Bucky is stealthily walking, Sam references him as a White Panther, which is basically him being Caucasian and came back from his like rehabilitation in Wakanda, he has become like opposite of T’Challa’s Black Panther. And now Bucky corrects him by saying his new moniker is now White Wolf, a name that T’Challa bestowed on him (if not referred only).
Now for the action part, we get to witness once more Bucky’s Super Soldier ability by seeing how he outruns the second truck and catch up with the first truck, and these are 14-wheeler trucks (they’re scary in real life ahaha). Anyway, the battle began after the suspected hostage turns out to the head of the group, threw Bucky onto the windshield of the second truck, then pulled up by the other two members on top of the truck and John Walker and Lamar Hoskins joining them after.
I’m pretty sure STACKIE fans out there went nuts with a bit of that fan-service they did, when Falcon dive under the first truck on the way to the second truck to save Bucky, but I think the wings got caught on the ground making Sam loose his balance that’s why they went rollin’ on the yellow flower field – which looks like either chrysanthemum or daisy, which is in flower language, Yellow Daisy means a good friend while Yellow Chrysanthemum can mean neglect of love or sorrow. It actually looks more like daisy, it’s just that the leaves kind of looks like chrysanthemum… I could be wrong, but if it is daisy, then putting a yellow daisy here will be could actually mean that a good friendship is about to start and the chrysanthemum could mean their sorrow stemming from Steve and living up to his expectations.
We now have Bucky and Sam being invited by John and Lamar to ride with them on their jeep stating that it’s about 20miles to the airport and they need a ride. After joining them on the jeep, we now can see finally having a proper conversation. But we can see that Sam actually have to asked them twice about what are they doing there, they have successfully avoided the first time by stating that they checked their location thru Red Wing and on the second time, Lemar responded with “Well, they provide the resources and we keep things stable.” Then John followed it with “Yeah, violent revolutionaries aren’t usually good for anyone’s cause.” –which from my understanding, still doesn’t answer Sam’s question, that why Sam sarcastically responded with “Usually said by the people with the resources.” Then now John offered the two to join them, in which Bucky frankly declined, the Lemar tried to rub salt on their wound by saying their asses were getting kicked till they show up, that starts to tick off Bucky, until he mentions he’s called Battlestar, which pissed Bucky off even further. I’m not really sure why he got pissed after hearing that, but I’m guessing (yes, guessing, meaning I'm not sure) that the reason he got pissed was because Lemar have a hero name, pretty much like Bucky being the Winter Soldier/White Wolf and Sam being the Falcon, and of course Steve being the true Captain America, Bucky probably felt insulted that not only America made a new Captain America, they even gave him a side kick with a hero name.
Bucky got off the jeep first then John apologizing to Sam by saying he’s not Steve and is not trying be like him, but trying to be a Captain America in his own way. Sam left the jeep as well after he felt insulted when John wanted Sam and Bucky, who are Steve’s best friend and partners, to be his wingmen. John clearly have no idea of what their relationship really is and calling them Steve’s wingmen rather than Steve’s friend or partner, but he used wingmen, that John interprets as they are just someone that supports Steve, he’s clearly belittling them, that’s why Sam scoffs and responded with “It’s always that last line.”
We now see the Flagsmashers arriving on a place of one their group’s supporters to get some rest. Their leader Karli received a text message saying “You took what’s mine. I’m going to find you and kill you.” –which I think is a message from John Walker. Because in the comics, John became like a super soldier from Powerbroker, and in here, we can probably theorized that the real reason he is in Munich is to get his hand on the serum but Karli stole it from him before he could get his hands on it.
We now have Sam and Bucky on military plane and Bucky telling Sam that they should take the shield back, in which Sam told they can’t do it just like that cause the last time they did (also in Germany), Sharon – Peggy’s niece who was also a CIA, helped Steve and Sam get their weapons back (shield and wings before the airport battle in Civil War), then they went on hiding until Thanos came, and Bucky was taken in by T’Challa to cure him at Wakanda. Sharon was punished for her actions, and she will be making her appearance any time soon since the ED also have her picture included but her name is not yet present since she hasn’t made any appearance yet.
Bucky brought Sam to Baltimore, MD to meet the Black Super Soldier, Isaiah Bradley. As they walk thru the neighborhood on the way to Isaiah’s house , looks like the show have already hinted what’s about to come in the future. The kid upon being introduced called Sam the Black Falcon, instead of just simply the Falcon. Sam played with the kid by asking him “Is it because I’m black and I'm the Falcon?” and the kid confusedly replied with “Well, technically, I mean, yes.” Then Sam playfully responded with “So are you, like, Black kid?” and they started laughing it off. But if you look at it from a different perspective, it is kind of like the premonition, because within their conversation, it can only be done by them, because if a white person actually say that phrase? I’m pretty sure, that laugh in the end will not be present. There’s more to it but I’ll discuss it after.
Sam and Bucky arrived at Isaiah’s house, and Bucky introduced him to Sam by saying “He was a hero. One of the ones that HYDRA feared the most, like Steve.” As their conversation proceeded, Isaiah explained that others like him that were sent in Goyang never came back, so the military sent him to deal with Bucky and he won that battle. But instead of being celebrated as a hero, the military or government decided to brand him and put him in jail for 30 years. I’m not gonna use his comic s counterpart since MCU have their own story retelling. But as I mentioned before, it’s a premonition.
Then Bucky and Sam left the house and Sam feeling a bit frustrated due to disbelief that other than Bucky and Steve, there’s another Super Soldier still alive for decades. Then here comes a bit of reality check in America. A patrolling police catches them having an argument. Soon after, the police asked for Sam’s ID but didn’t asked for Bucky’s but instead asked Bucky if this man is bothering him. Now this is actually quite a very, very good reality check and I applaud the Malcolm Spellman and Kari Skogland for putting this kind of a wakeup call here. These scene or event is very powerful and it mirrors the reality of the black community experiencing the racial profiling from the police brutality in America. We can also see the house behind Sam that says STOP THE VIOLENCE, then on board beside it reads words like, HEAL THE SICK, STOP KILLING, PLANT A SEED, LOVE, TRUST. It was not until Bucky dropped the hint by saying “Do you know who this is?” and one of the police recognizing them as the Avengers and the police stared at Sam for bit and realized its Sam Wilson aka the Falcon and started apologizing by saying he didn’t recognized him since he isn’t wearing his goggles. With the police instead of just letting it go, still tried to look for a loophole, but sadly the loophole is not with Sam, but with Bucky, who missed his therapy session because of going with Sam on Munich then to Baltimore.
We now see Bucky being released thru John Walker’s authority and Dr. Raynor summoning both of them for a therapy session. The scene started out quite funny but later on, it hit hard again. Dr. Raynor asked Bucky why Sam aggravates him.
Bucky: Why did you gave up that shield?
Sam: Why are you making such a big deal out of something that has nothing to do with you?
Bucky: Steve believed in you. He trusted you. He gave you that shield for a reason. That shield, that is… that is everything he stood for. That is his legacy. He gave you that shield, and you threw it away like it was nothing.
Sam: Shut up.
Bucky: … So maybe he was wrong about you. And if he was wrong about you, then he was wrong about me.
Sam: You finished?
Bucky: Yeah.
Sam: All right, good. Maybe this is something you or Steve will never understand. But can you accept that I did what I thought was right?
We can now also see that before Bucky leaves, it dropped yet another hint of what’s about to happen by asking his doctor, “What was rule number two again?” which is more likely will be broken and even Dr Raynor acknowledges that it will.
I’ll skip John Walker scene, and now we have Karli loadingthe plane with their Super Soldier serum supply. When a member of Flagsmashers stay behind to delay the Power Broker’s, one of Power Broker’s men who is seen wearing a bullet proof vest was seen talking over the phone saying “They got away.” whom I think he’s reporting to John Walker.
Now let jump back with Sam and Bucky. Sam asked Bucky what he’s thinking, Bucky responded with “When Isaiah said my people”… Sam understood that when he said “my people” – meaning white people that’s why Sam said “Oh, don’t take it to heart. That’s not what he meant.” To which Bucky corrected him saying “No, he meant HYDRA. HYDRA used to be my people.” And now they are off to see Zemo and now we see Zemo inside his cell.
Pheewwwwww, that’s a long post… ahahaha, see you on the next one, still working with Snyder Cut but im still considering of I should post it or not, after all, so many groups out there already made a video and article out it…but we’ll see…

Title: Going Through Motions {8}**
Steve Rogers X Reader OFC Korral “Korri” Evans
Warning: Plot, Cursing, HEAVY Angst, SMUTTY SMUT SMUT, NSFW
Word Count: 6.8K
Summary: You and Steve had a hot, passionate, and wild romance seven years ago when you worked with the Avengers. It was the best year of your life; you’d never felt the things you’d felt in all your life. Then out of nowhere, Steve just ended things—in a letter. A heartbreaking letter, then the world deemed him a criminal, and he disappeared. Now, you’ve moved on and have gotten engaged to rich man Marc Spector. Tony brings you back to work with the newly rebuilt Avengers that is still led by Captain America who is definitely done asking for permission and not looking for forgiveness. Or is he?
Note: So, for this fic, we are going to alter the MCU timeline a bit. This takes place after Civil War, but Infinity War has not happened yet. Steve is off the grid for seven years before he comes back. {I know that’s a long time, but let me rock please} Also, I’m going to be introing/adding in Moon Knight (Marc Spector) in just because I feel like it and I want to start exploring other Marvel characters and of course I will twist him to serve my purposes.

-Steve-
Three times. Three times he’d had you. Three times he’d lost you. It was hard not to feel angry about it or entitled to what was his. You were his. There was no doubt in his mind that you were or not. Yes, you had a fiancé, yes you seemed to have moved on. Seemed was the operative word. He knew you hadn’t the first time he saw it in your eyes. It was in the bathroom after he’d shattered the mirror. He saw a glint of something that intensified, and he recognized clearly as love. When he first returned and saw you, he thought he saw it, but he wasn’t sure, and he was too afraid to look closer. He was fearful he really would see nothing but a wasteland of where love had resided.
After the last two encounters with you, he was certain. You still loved him. Not only did you still love him, but you desired him. He knew that if you could push the man you claimed you loved to the side to let him touch you, kiss you, make love to you then it was not love at all. The fire between you had yet to fade. It had been that way from the day you’d met.
Both of you knew the spark you felt knew the intensity of which your feelings arose, and though you both tried to deny it for several weeks, him the most; it was inevitable—your love was unavoidable. You couldn’t keep your eyes, hands, or lips off each other and neither of you had ever felt like that before. Neither of you knew how to handle your love while being at the beck and call of danger. Most times he thought that major caveat was one of the reasons you fell so hard and so fast for each other. You both knew time was fleeting and life was fragile. Nothing was promised, and with the life you led, the end could come in the blink of an eye. He, for one, didn’t want to push your love to the side because he more than anyone knew those lessons—he’d lived them.
You’d loved him through his dangerous phase where he was reckless and put everything on his shoulders, took every risk. It was a time in his life he didn’t feel like he knew his purpose in this new world. Everyone joked he was an old man with an old soul living in the times of electronic and technological giants, he felt out of place. He’d almost made up his mind that he’d do everything he could to push himself to the end. Everyone believed he was indestructible, but he knew he was still a man, he knew death had to come at some point. So, he did what he could to tempt it.
You quickly saw that and showed him life was worth living, and being out of place just meant you had to find the right place. The right place only felt right with you by his side. Leaving was the hardest thing he’d ever had to do. It was like taking one of Clint’s blades and piercing his own heart. It hurt, and he barely made it through. For a month he kept the secret feed he had of your shared room open. A whole month he watched you cry, trash the place and sit up and stare aimlessly into darkness. He watched you deteriorate, and every day he wanted to go back. Every day he made the plan to go back, and at the point of execution, he stopped thinking of the danger you’d be in. Then he’d continue on as he explained it away by convincing himself he could more than protect you, only to stop again when he was faced with the fact that you shouldn’t have to live a life on the run where he had to protect you from people who wanted you either dead or buried underground in a cell. It was a hard truth, but it was the truth—he was more detrimental to your life being in it then out of it. Bucky told him his hero complex would be the death of him. He was right. After that month, the day he ended the feed was the day that old Steve Rogers died.
Suddenly, he stopped and bent over, resting his hands on the tops of his knees and allowed himself to get some air. When he looked at the device on his wrist, he barely blinked when it read he’d ran thirty-five miles in just under thirty minutes. As he stood he groaned.
“I’m getting too old for this.”
Tumblr media
Sam dropped to the ground next to him in full falcon gear. “Maybe you should stop running from your problems then.”
He rolled his eyes and sighed. “Did you follow me, Sam?”
“Follow is a very suspect word; it makes it sound like stalking. I am not a stalker, man.”
He shook his head, rolled his eyes, then rubbed his jaw. “I really didn’t want any company Sam, that’s why I left without telling anyone.”
“Yeah, I figured. Part of me thought you might run again, especially after you realized Korri wasn’t going to be easy.
“I never expected her to be easy, Sam. Matter of fact, I knew this would not be easy. I knew she would be—angry, hell furious. I knew she would want to kill me. I knew she would hate me.” He rubbed his forehead and groaned. He expected it all, but he was no way in form prepared for it. To see anger, hate, and the pain in your eyes instead of the love he remembered was hard.
“She doesn’t hate you, man. She’s hurt—surprised. She didn’t know how you really felt; she moved on and probably resolved to never seeing you again, and here you are—complicating everything she had planned.”
They stood silently until he sat on the ground and leaned against a tree. He looked up into the sky and through the leaves and branches that swayed in the air. It was soothing and brought him back to a simpler time. A time where he was a different man. Again, he sighed.
  “How bad is it?”
He wanted to laugh at Sam’s question. If he only knew just how bad things were. “Besides the fact, the woman I love is engaged to another man and seems hell-bent on actually going through with living her life without him. He took a deep breath and shook his head.
“Bad.” Sam nodded and sat across from him at his own tree and waited for him to continue. “We slept together.” Sam’s jaw dropped.
  “Already?” He nodded.
  “Twice.”
Sam snorted then laughed his boisterous laugh. He nodded again, fully seeing what he’d done. “Well, you waste no time. I can’t say that I’m surprised. Everyone could feel the tension off the two of you since we got back. Honestly, we all wondered how long it would be.
“Great, glad to know my turmoil is your entertainment.”
“So I take it things didn’t go according to plan.”
He didn’t really even have a plan. When he finally decided to come back, he knew he wanted you back, he wanted you more than anything, and he was prepared to fight for you, but when he found out you were engaged he felt pause. He worried that you really had moved on. He worried that you really didn’t love him anymore, and his words in the letter really were too real.
“I told her the letter was a lie, told her why I wrote it, and that—I’ve never stopped loving her,” he admitted. Sam looked as if he were holding his breath.
“Wow, that was loaded and heavy. How did she take it?”
“Oh, she blew up. She was pissed like really pissed. So was furious.”
  “As expected,” Sam interjected.
“Yeah, as expected. She left both times and told me not to be there when she returned. Then brought up her fiancée. She’s still going through with it, Sam. It’s been a week, and she avoids me, she sees me coming, she goes the other way. She doesn’t speak to me; she doesn’t look at me she doesn’t—I don’t know what to do. I’m trying to--.”
“Take a breath, Cap. Look at this objectively. Take yourself out of the equation. Look at things from there.” He took a breath and listened to Sam’s advice.
“Good. You left her. You didn’t utter a word about it, just up and left; told her in a letter you didn’t love her and only loved one woman and she wasn’t it. You’ve been gone for six years. Six years she spent alone, rebuilding a life without you, living that life, expecting never to see you again. She probably stuffed whatever unresolved feelings she had in a box and hid it. Then here you come six years later, disrupting everything she built, everything she thought, everything she felt. Her once stable world--.”
“Is unstable. It’s out of whack. I’m the root; it’s my fault.”
“Again, not the point. It’s not about who is the cause. It’s about how she feels, what she’s dealing with. You have to think about that before you get frustrated with where you are. The difference between you and Korri is you lived the last six years knowing the truth of everything. you had no uncertainties, no false pretenses.”
“No uncertainties. Sam. You’re kidding, right? My entire six years was uncertainty. It’s not even about being unsure if I’d live to see the next day or the next week. It was about what she was doing, how she was feeling, was she okay? I was filled with uncertainty.”
Sam sighed and nodded. He understood, they all did. They saw his change; they saw him go from the optimistic, just man who sees the good in everyone to the cynical, lose moral veteran who saw the good but also saw the evil and recognized that evil sometimes usually wins out over the good. He’d seen a lot of darkness and he had a hard time believing that the world that he fought so hard for really deserved it. The only thing he knew was you deserved nothing but the best.
“I told you to talk to her. I told you there was a better way Steve. You insisted there wasn’t.”
He kissed his teeth; he’d grown to regret that decision. He now saw there could have possibly been another way. He knew with everything in him that you would have dropped everything to fall off the face of the Earth with him. You would have done it and justified it by saying at least you were together. Hell, he would have justified it with the same words.
“Give her space. Give her time to reconcile the last six years of lies with the present truths.”
He knew Sam was right. He knew time was what you needed, he knew you had to come to him on your own, but a genuine fear filled him. It was the fear that you’d choose Marc over him. You’d prefer this life you built over any that included him. He feared you really did hate him underneath the lust, and tangled emotions of love and regret. He wasn’t sure if he could handle the decision you made if it wasn’t him.
“You’re a good man Cap, always have been and always will be. I know the last six years have made you adapt if you will, but I know deep down you want to do good, you want to be good. You don’t want to be that guy who does dick things like sleep with someone else’s girl behind their back. You don’t want to be the side piece.”
“I also don’t want him to have her either Sam.”
“And I hear you on that.”
They sat in silence for several long minutes until Sam released a huff of breath. “Can’t believe I’m telling you this--.” He sighed, shook his head. “Remind her why she fell for you, Cap.”
Letting Sam’s words marinate, he thought again to why it was that you did fall for him. It had been so long he wasn’t sure why you fell in love with him anymore.

No matter what you tried, you couldn’t find much information on the mercenaries who attacked the Pentagon. There were reports on them from other attacks, but when it came to anything deeper like who they worked for, that was still the mystery. You hit roadblock after roadblock after roadblock, and after four hours you were fed up. You shrieked out loud as you pounded your hands onto the desk.
“Woah, they have activities to relieve all that stress, you know.” You turned to see Tony with a pleased smirk on his face. You rolled your eyes and looked back to the screen.
“How can I help you, Tony?”
“It’s safe to say you’ve also been unsuccessful too.”
You groaned again and rolled your eyes. “I can’t find anything. Normally I can find anything I want; I am the queen of finding that which doesn’t want to be found. I can’t find anything!”
“Calm down. My god if I didn’t know any better I’d think you’re not really frustrated by this and more frustrated with the fact that you’re living a double life.”
You snapped your head to Tony, who was tapping away on his tablet. You narrowed your eyes and actually envisioned yourself knocking him out. He must have sensed it because he stepped back. When he looked at you he “tsked” at you.
  “No need for violence, Korral.”
“Have you been spying on me, Tony?”
“Spying? Is it really classified as that when everyone under this roof knows that there are surveillance measures in place for everyone’s safety?”
He walked to the other side of the lab, and your head went through the possibilities.
“The balcony window.” You closed your eyes and mentally kicked yourself.
“Tony, you better have not watched.”
“Watch? Though I have always wondered if Captain America’s powers from the super serum went past combat, I did not watch—much.”
You gaped at him. You couldn’t believe this. “I think my father and Dr. Erskin would be proud to know just how super the serum is.”
   “Tony!”
He raised his hand in surrender, you stood. “Delete the footage!”
“It’s already deleted, Korral.” You took a deep breath and rubbed your forehead. You could feel the life you’d built over the last six years slowly crumbling.
“If I may. Though I am not an expert in women or relationships and my track record is not a prime example. Hell, before Pepper—.” He shook his head. “Even with Pepper, I was—lacking. Anyway, what I am trying to say is, instead of trying to bury your actions, or even hiding them, maybe you should face them—accept them even.”
The urge to deck him was stronger even though he spoke nothing but the truth. You took several breathes and rolled your shoulders back. The bottom line was he was right; you focused on that. Turning your back you returned to your seat and computer and stared at the screen; the only face you saw was Steve’s.
“Someone once told me the one thing I was afraid to hear. They said; perhaps I’m not good enough to even stand in my father’s shadow, perhaps I think I’m a God because the man who was like a God to me never saw me.” Tony paused for a few moments then took a deep breath. “So, I will be the person to say the one thing you are afraid to hear, and I hope you can forgive me for it, Korral, because I think of you as my sister, and I respect the hell out of you. Perhaps you’re not as in love with Marc as you think, and it’s because you never got your heart back from Steve. Perhaps you’re still as much in love with him today as you were six years ago.”
Once he said the words, he walked out, but the cloud of emotions his words elicited hovered in the air suffocating you. Damn right you were afraid to hear them. If they were true then the last six years of your life was built on a lie. You moved on because you had no choice, you moved on because he left you, you moved on because you’d wasted a year of your life with someone who didn’t love you. That is what you told yourself. You gave Marc a chance because he was different than what you usually fell for. He was different from Steve.
Where Steve was mainly idealistic, marc was a realist. Where Steve couldn’t help but see the good in everyone and build it up, Marc knew human beings were flawed; he knew their ability for corruption, so his inventions kept that in mind. Steve drew others to him, brought others to follow him from his sheer charisma and likability, Marc preferred to keep the majority of the world away only showing what needed to be or what he chose. Steve was a profoundly compassionate lover, and Marc relied solely on his intensity, and it showed in the way they both approached life and love.
At the thought of love, you rolled your eyes. Did you even love Marc? If you did, how could you have allowed yourself to sleep with Steve? You groaned and looked to the big screen in the lab that held the composites of the virus, according to the doctor who’d created it. You were able to decipher his notes and put together the necessary information that showed you just why Johnson would risk it all for the cannister. Tomorrow the Secretary of Defense would be by to collect it and bring it somewhere more secure. Until then, everyone was still on high alert.
After you closed your files and locked your computer, you walked back to your room but found yourself going to what used to be Steve’s room instead. Three times you changed course once you realized where you were, and every time your feet still ended up on the path to his room. On the fourth attempt, you quickly ducked into the sauna room and pressed your back to the door. This was not your intended destination, but it would have to do until you regained some control of your limbs and confidence you’d make it to your room and not his.
Tumblr media
Quickly you stripped and wrapped in one of the luxurious towels and made it into the sitting area. You could barely see anything thanks to the thick steam that filled the room. You used your hands to feel your way to one of the seats then dropped into one with a long sigh. You closed your eyes and tried to relax. Your head dropped back, and you allowed your mind to drift. You saw yourself six years ago. You and Steve were sitting on the balcony, your legs were rested in his lap, and his hands were slowly stroking your calves.
“I can’t believe we actually have a day to ourselves,” you whispered, afraid someone would hear and change it.
“I know, I was just thinking the same thing. You’re the one with the guts to say it out loud.” You laughed and leaned to him and rested your head on his shoulder then sighed as you watched the sunset behind the trees. Steve kissed your forehead twice and rested his cheek on your head.
“You know, since I woke up in this insane world, I’ve always felt like I was slowly spiraling away from sanity and control, and it was never a feeling I liked. In order to not put too much attention on it I kept busy, mission after mission, fight after fight, death-defying move after death-defying move.” He took a deep breath; you could feel the clench of his jaw on your forehead, and you looked at him grasping his hands and caressing them. “With you, the world seems less crazy, it’s almost controlled, and I feel saner, and I know it’s because of you, Korri.” You smiled small and felt his soft cheek.
The way the setting sun caught his face gave him a warm, romantic glow and made his blondish hair look almost orange. The piece that hung over his brow made him look a little less kempt, and you loved it when he looked less than put together. The world saw this beacon of hope and control, but around you away from the world, you allowed him to be himself. You let him be vulnerable, to show the bouts of depression he had over losing Bucky, the sorrow he felt for missing out on a life to live for seventy years, he was able to be Steve the scrawny kid from Brooklyn who carried years of rejection with him from no one wanting him or picking him. You were never drawn to the Captain. You loved Steve.
You traced the fine lines in his skin and gazed adoringly into his eyes. “Where have you been all my life, Rogers?” He smiled and knew the lines to echo next. He turned his lips to your palm and kissed it. “Asleep for most of it but right where I belong now. I love you, Korri, forever and a day.” You smiled and kissed him determined to breathe life, love, and hope into him and all the areas he lacked it.
Like a hazy vision, the memory faded and brought a new one. This one not so happy. You sat on the bed you shared with Steve holding the letter he’d written you. Your hands were shaking, and you could hear your heart pounding, but your sobs were also very audible. The words swam in your head like a pool of deception, lies, and pain.
Korri, for the last year, one thing has become more apparent to me than anything else—and that is you are an amazing woman. You are smart, strong, dependable, loyal, compassionate, honest, so giving, but entirely too gullible. You have the ability to see the good in any heart. You strive to make the world better; protect it even if you didn’t you wouldn’t have willingly walked into work with The Avengers. You care about those around you and love incredible deeply.
I tried to listen to my head when it said you were a good alternative. I really believed it; I believed you would be able to hold up to her. Sadly, I was mistaken, and I didn’t know anything. See I’d planted a fake image of you were in my mind, an image that I hoped with everything could be anything like the woman I loved, the only woman I’ve ever loved. Peggy. I dreamt of her for seventy years, work up and still dreamed of her every day. I dreamed of what could have been if only we’d been given time.
Over time, it became painfully clear that you weren’t her. You are nothing like her. She was tenacious, cunning, incredibly strong, stubborn, and so beautiful, just to name a few. You’re not her, and that realization is the reason why it’s clear to me that I could never end up with you. We aren’t endgame; we aren’t meant. I don’t know what’s meant for me anymore if there is anything or anyone in the world who I could love, but I won’t find that here with you. I’m sorry for leading you on and making you think and feel an illusion; I was wrong for that. I never meant to hurt you, but I guess I’m still as lost as you’ve always thought. Goodbye Korri.”
Your sobs finally uncaged and echoed throughout the room.
The memory was so powerful the pain you felt gripped you crippled you and held you where you were trapped in the past—a past of pain and lies.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, it meant nothing. I didn’t feel that way. None of it was true.”
Your lips trembled, and before you knew it, your tears were streaming down your face and sobs coming from your lips.
“I love you Korri, I’ve never stopped loving you. I needed to protect you. Being on the run was no life for you; you didn’t deserve that.”
  “Stop, stop, stop! No more!”
The memories stopped, and silence finally filled your head. It was too late though; the memories had already done their damage. You got up and walked out of the steam room, everything was spinning, and you weren’t able to catch a full breath. You stumbled into one of the sauna rooms and dropped onto one of the beds. After a few moments the spinning stopped, and you felt some sense of normalcy return. You sat in the silence of the room and slowed your breathing.
Tumblr media
“It was all a lie.”
  “Not all of it, Korri.”
You should have jumped, should have gasped, and leaped to the other side of the room, but you didn’t. Part of you felt him there, part of you always felt him no matter where he was, no matter what he was doing. That was how you knew he wasn’t dead through all these years. You closed your eyes again and took a breath. Running was not the answer. Fucking was not the answer. Wishing and hoping things were different was not the answer and crying was not it. You took a deep breath and tried to prepare yourself for what was about to happen—the conversation six years in the making.
Slowly you sat up and pressed your back to the wall and swallowed, then looked in front of you. Steve sat there, shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waist. You tried to keep your eyes above his neck, tried to tell yourself to focus, but on their own they slowly drifted down to take him in full capacity. God, he never ages, you thought. He was Michelangelo’s David without so much as a scratch. He looked to be in mint condition. You bit your bottom lip hard in order to keep your ass on your side of the room. It would be too easy to drift over and take advantage of the moment and the magnetic energy floating between the two of you. It had never been like this with Marc. You dropped your head in disgust.
“Korri--,” Steve began before you cut him off. You looked him right in the eye as you recited the words he’d written those six years ago. Sat there and watched his every move, every reaction, and read him like you’d been taught to.
With every word you spoke, he looked pained, angry, and remorse filled. Your jaw clenched, and his mirrored yours before his head dipped down, but only for a second before he met your eyes again and kept your gaze until you finished speaking the words—his words. When you finished the silence returned and the words and pain hung in the air between you.
“What was it you were saying?”
“Those words were lies. Well, some of them. You are an amazing woman. You are smart, strong, dependable, loyal, compassionate, honest, too giving. You have the ability to see the good in any heart. You strive to make the world better, to protect it. You’re not her—you’re not Peggy. I love that you’re your own woman, a damn remarkable one. I never meant to hurt you.”
Tumblr media
Somehow you were able to keep your tears inside. You were able to sit there while he spoke and keep a straight face, a face that showed no emotion, a face that didn’t betray you, and show the turmoil that bubbled within.
  “Korri, I’m sorry.”
“You keep saying that like it’s supposed to do something. Like the words erase anything. They don’t, Steve! Nothing is erased. The six years still went by, the words are spoken, the pain still there, the effect present. Nothing is changed. I don’t know what you think I’m sorry does. It’s not a fix, a cure.”
Steve quickly slid to the end of the bed he sat on and leaned to you. “Then tell me how to fix this, Korri. Tell me how to cure and heal the wound I’ve caused. Tell me, please. I have to fix this.” You saw a tear roll down his cheek, and part of you wanted to go to him, part of you desperately wanted to wrap your arms around him, but you didn’t know how you could. How could you forget everything? How could you move on after everything? How could you trust him?
“I don’t think there is anything you can do that can fix it. The damage has been done.”
He shook his head defiantly. “No. I don’t believe that. I won’t accept that. Korri, I love you. I have loved you for eight years — one from afar, one with you and six apart from you. I will love you for the rest of my life, but I don’t want to do it from afar anymore, Korri. I can’t.”
You hit your head on the wall and shook your head. “Do you know what I couldn’t do, Steve? I couldn’t breathe for weeks after you left. I couldn’t—breathe. I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t think. I couldn’t fucking function! I stayed in bed—our bed for two whole weeks. I cried, god did I cry. I have never cried that much in my life. I couldn’t look at a star and not think of you. Everything I saw, I saw your stupid face, everything. It took me two months to stop crying in the daytime, like a stupid idiot. It took me another six months to stop crying at night, and that includes in my sleep because I dreamt of you, had nightmares I woke from tear soaked. It took almost a year before I could take a full breath, but still, my chest hurt; still, my heart hurt. You had me second guessing everything, every single thing, my judgment, my assessments, my logic, my thinking, every single person I came in contact with, I second guessed, I refused to trust, I couldn’t. Because of you!”
You were fuming, but you felt good, finally getting it out. You’d kept all this in for so long it was as if your heart was a mausoleum of dead love and dreams.
“You broke my fucking heart Steve; do you realize that. You broke it and called it Tuesday and dropped off the face of the planet.”
  “Korri, I had to help--.”
“I don’t give a shit. You lied to me. You promised you’d never lie to me, and you lied and left me. No goodbye, just that letter and six years of pain. You did that Steve. Now you’re back and you what, want forgiveness?”
“Yes. Only your forgiveness.” More tears decorated his face and gut-wrenching pain, a pain you felt, you’d always felt it, and you now saw he’d felt it too. Part of you felt satisfied to know he suffered. You wanted him to suffer.
“It took Marc nearly two years to get me to agree to a date, it took him almost another year before he finally got me into bed, then four years to get me to move in, and nearly five years to get me to accept his marriage proposal. All of it took so long because of you, because of some sick feeling of betraying you but being unable to trust because of you.”
Steve looked crushed hearing the intimate details of yours and Marc’s relationship. Good, you thought. You were now in dangerous territory, the territory of wanting vengeance for the sake of it.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know what else to say. I’m sorry, I regret hurting you. I regret writing that stupid letter. I regret lying to you.”
“But you don’t regret leaving. You don’t regret everything else.” He looked down, then shook his head.
“You know I don’t. You know what Bucky meant to me. You know how I beat myself up over what happened to him, how I blamed myself for him turning into that--,” Steve trailed off his voice filled with emotion. “I don’t regret being there for him when he needed me like he’d always been there for me. He died for me, Korri.”
Your eyes remained glued to the other, and you searched his for any hint of a lie, there was no lie. The man before you was being honest and for the first time, you could see the Steve you’d fallen in love with. The man who would wreck his entire world just for a friend, who would put himself in harm’s way to save a life, a man who would do just about anything for the right thing.
You groaned loudly and hit your head on the wall again. “You should have told me, Steve. You took my choice; you had no right to do it. You stole six years from me, six years that I could have been happy, we could--.” Clenching your jaw, you closed your eyes and shook your head. With how close you’d come to saying the words it was clear to you now, your six years were a lie, everything with Marc was a lie.
“Marc.” You buried your face in your hands and groaned again.
“Marc? How could you think about him at a time like this? After--.” You heard the crunching of metal and looked across from you to see Steve tightly gripping the edge of the bed, severely breaking it.
  “Do you love him?”
“You don’t get to ask me that.” He clenched his jaw.
“Do you love me? Do I get to ask that?” You studied him some more not knowing how to answer either of those questions.
“I have a life here, Steve. I built a life out of the ash, rubble, and blood you left, and whether you like it or not Marc is part of that life.”
“After everything we’ve shared? Come on, Korri, if you loved him you would have never let me between your thighs. If you loved him you wouldn’t still be sleeping in our bed. If you loved him you wouldn’t still be hurt after all these years.”
Bam, Captain Steven Grant Rogers just hit you right between the eyes with some truth. It was a truth you didn’t want to face—not yet at least.
“Be honest with me, hell be honest with yourself.” You clenched your jaw and felt more fear.
“Love isn’t everything, Steve. It doesn’t mean as much as it once did.”
He snorted. “You’re lying. I know you Korri, I know you inside and out, I know how you think, I know better than you wish I did. I know you, Korri.”
With that, Steve was off the bed and on your side of the room, cupping your jaw. You could feel the heat radiating off him and the strength in him. Everything in you responded to him.
“Look me in the eyes, Korri.” You looked him in his blue orbs, and it was as if no time had passed at all. Like a magnet, you both levitated to each other, and in a matter of seconds, your foreheads were pressed together. “I love you Korri, only you.”
You felt the truth of those words. The fact that you knew him inside and out, too, made it easy to believe and easy to understand and feel why he did what he did. It didn’t make your situation any easier or less messy. “Do you expect me to blow up my entire life because you’re back? Do you expect me to fall into line like everyone else who follows you and do what you want? I was never meant to fall in line, Steve.”
“Oh, I know, that’s one of the reasons I fell in love with you, your defiance, your stubbornness. I just want you, Korri.” Your hand found its way to his cheek, and you relished the feel of his beard and the sweetness of his breath. His lips touched yours in the softest kiss, a kiss you stalled with returning. He waited; he was always good at waiting.
  “The choice is yours, darlin’.”
You bit your bottom lip but kissed him right after. Steve took it as an invitation and took control of the kiss that quickly turned frenzied. You moaned on his lips and nibbled his bottom one. Steve groaned and but pulled you closer to him. You moaned again and pushed him back to his side of the room.
Chris fell to the bed, and you climbed on him, straddling his lap. His hands and your hands fought for dominance and control over the other until Steve’s hands untucked your towel. You allowed it to fall and allowed Steve to cup your breasts. When his lips connected with your neck you began rocking on his lap; every swipe over the rigid mass underneath you made your core yearn as it had never yearned before.
You reached down between your bodies and loosened his towel and arched onto your knees while locking eyes with him. He didn’t move or speak. He simply waited for you to make a choice. You felt as if this was the most important choice of your life. This choice would cement those to follow. This choice would brand you for better or worse. Closing your eyes, you toned out everything, heart, head, all of it, but you made a choice, and that choice had you sinking onto his need. Steve groaned and flung his head back as he tightly squeezed your hip. The pain rang out in your pelvis, and you knew it would bruise.
Neither of you waited or took it slow. You rocked your hips back and forth and swiveled them fully taking control of your desire and his need for you. Unable to sit back and let you do all the work Steve used his grip on your hips to lift you up and down on his appendage. Every time he brought you down it wasn’t gentle. He slammed you down as he rose his hips to deliver a bruising thrust. Every time he did you screamed out and every time you did his thrusts came with more power. By the time he snapped his hips up a fifth time, you’d came around his length twice.
Steve must have known it because he held you so tightly it hurt, but then he rocked your core so expertly that you didn’t care. Just when you thought you couldn’t take anymore Steve bit down onto your shoulder, grunted loudly, quickly pumped into you. “Oh my god, Steve!”
“Yes. Korri! Ah, uugh!” His body stiffened as he sank into you to the hilt and held you in pace to receive every single inch of him. You screeched and felt his release. The two of you held tightly to each other as your pants and moans bounced off the walls. You rode the wave of your orgasm, but the fire within you didn’t subside. You feared it never would as long as he was alive.
When your body’s convulsions slowed, you looked down to Steve whose eyes were glued to you. his hand pushed back your hair and wiped a drop of sweat from your temple. Shaking your head, you allowed the tears to fall, and Steve wiped them as they did.
“I love you, Steve, I’ve always loved you. I will probably always love you.” His eyes filled with hope, a contagious hope. He brought his face closer to yours his intention to claim your lips. You allowed the kiss, and with it such nostalgia washed over you. He was the love of your life. He always would be, but he was also the only man who’d ever broken your heart, the only man you’d ever allowed close enough to do it. Slowly you pulled away and kept your eyes closed allowed the lingering effect of his kiss to remain a little longer. When you opened your eyes, it took him all of three seconds to figure out he hadn’t gotten what he wanted—not entirely.
“But I don’t think love is enough anymore.” The happiness on his face faded and was replaced by anguish. He looked as if you’d reached into his chest and pulled out his beating heart. You slid off of his lap and gathered the towel around you once more then walked out the room.

I’ll try to get the final part of this up as soon as I can and if any of you have ideas for something that you want me to write please leave a suggestion in the comments or message me, luv you all so so much!!! <3
Summary: Bucky x reader. Bucky and reader have liked each other for a long time but they’re both in denial of the other’s feelings. What will happen when Tony’s new invention accidentally brings 40sBucky and 40sSteve to the present? If this were to go in the actual MCU timeline it would probably be sometime before infinity war and before they actually figured out time travel. And for anytime that 40sBucky or 40sSteve are mentioned I used * to make it less confusing for which Steve or Bucky it is.
Word Count: 1613
Other Chapters: Time Fluff Masterlist
That morning was possibly one of the most stressful of my life, and that includes every mission that I’ve had to prepare for. I decided not to wear anything fancy, maybe if I act like it’s a normal day I will feel less nauseous thinking about leaving my room. I take a deep breath before stepping out the door and heading down to the kitchen. It feels eerily quiet throughout the compound and I figure out why once I check my phone and notice a text from Wanda.
Wanda: the rest of the team went out to show Bucky* and Steve* around New York, have fun you two ;)
I roll my eyes and decide against responding. I finish walking to the kitchen and get coffee to sip on while I wait for Bucky to (hopefully) come downstairs. I start having second thoughts once I hear heavy footsteps coming from the hallway. I scroll through my phone so I won’t be creepily watching him as he walks in but I can tell as soon as he makes it into the kitchen. “Hey Bucky, you sleep well?” I ask before looking up but I know the answer once I see his face, he looks like he hasn’t slept in a week.
He looks over at me and smiles softly before getting coffee for himself “Yeah, what about you doll?” I can tell that he has something on his mind and can only hope that he wants to tell me what I want him to.
“I slept pretty good, there was kind of something I wanted to talk to you about though…” I bite my lip anxiously hoping that he won’t reject me.
He rubs the back of his neck and looks almost everywhere except for me “I’d love to Y/N but I should go train for a while, can’t break the schedule ya know?” he walks out quickly without even finishing his coffee.
I groan loudly and rest my head on my arms when he’s gone. So much for trying to get this over with quickly, how in the world am I supposed to tell him how I feel if he runs away before I can tell him anything?
*Bucky’s POV*
I debated whether I should even get out of bed this morning knowing the I was eventually going to have to tell Y/N how I feel about her. I somehow convinced myself to get out of bed and go downstairs to get coffee at least. I barely slept last night from nightmares, but not the usual ones. This time they were filled with Y/N turning me down and losing her forever.
As I made my way down to the kitchen I check my phone, noticing the absence of personality throughout the compound. I see a text notification from Steve.
Steve: Hey pal. The rest of us went out to show our past selves around New York today, tell Y/N how you feel! I promise that she feels the same
I smile skeptically at my phone, still unsure of how she feels about me, and ridiculously nervous about confessing my heart to her. I start walking down to the kitchen again and once I get down there I notice Y/N sitting at the table on her phone. I take a deep breath, wondering if she’s going to want to talk about last night. “Hey Bucky, you sleep well?” she asks me. Obviously I’m not going to tell her what I’m really thinking, nah actually I didn’t sleep that great because all I could think about last night was you rejecting my feelings and me never getting to see you again. I’m sure that would go over amazingly.
I smile a little at her anyway out of habit while I get my coffee, “Yeah, what about you doll?” I’m genuinely curious about whether or not she had the same problem that I had.
“I slept pretty good, there was kind of something I wanted to talk to you about though…” She started biting her lip and I couldn’t handle her doing that without being able to kiss her.
I glance away from her and start rubbing my neck, a nervous habit of mine “I’d love to Y/N but I should go train for a while, can’t break the schedule ya know?” I set down my coffee and walked out of the kitchen as quickly as I could. I felt bad for avoiding her like that but I’m sure she doesn’t care too much.
*Y/N’s POV*
I stayed in the kitchen for a while longer while trying to decide my best next move. Once I got a text from Natasha and Tony I decided to grow a pair and go down to the gym to make Bucky hear what I have to say.
Nat: Have you talked to him yet?! I’m tired of waiting for the two of you to admit how you feel about each other so get on with it!! I want to have a niece to be named after! >:(
Tony: Hey kid, how’s it going? I’m just checking in to tell you to finally tell Barnes how you feel and once you admit your feelings to each other don’t do it on my couches k thx bye.
I took a deep breath and walked over to the elevator, telling Friday where I wanted to go. Once the doors opened back up I saw him at a bench lifting dumbbells, he looked up as soon as I entered the large room. I cleared my throat before speaking “Uhm, hey Buck. So, there’s something that I really need to talk to you about and I need you to hear it” I swallowed hard, waiting for him to say something before I continue.
His brow furrowed and he looked away from me again, this time seeming to be very interested in his shoes. “Bucky please, I just need you to listen to what I have to say. After I’m done you can leave or ignore me forever or whatever you want, just please listen to this” he seemed very confused for a second and glanced back up at me for only a moment before looking away again.
I ran a hand over my face and shook my head in an attempt to clear it, ignoring the tears beginning to form in my eyes I began to speak. “Okay, this is something that I’ve wanted to get off my chest for a while now because I’ve felt this way for basically the entire time that I’ve known you. I like you Bucky, a lot. I’ve had these really strong feelings as soon as I started to get to know you. I know that you can’t possibly feel the same way that I do because you’re you and you’re so amazing and you deserve so much more than me and I was so afraid of telling you all of this because I don’t want to lose you but I think you deserve to know how I really feel about you. Oh, that felt so good to finally say everything out loud” I sit down on a nearby bench and rest my head in my hands.
I look up after a while and see Bucky still looking straight ahead of him “Can you please say something?” I beg him, needing to know if this is the end of our friendship or if by some miracle he feels the same way that I do.
He stood up slowly and started walking towards me. “Doll, you are the most incredible woman that I’ve ever met. How could you possibly think that I deserve better than you? You deserve the whole world, and so so much more than I have to offer you. I have really strong feelings for you too Y/N. I think I’m in love with you, and I think I have been since the day that I met you. I didn’t think that you would feel the same about me, but I’m so happy that you feel the way about me that I do about you” he sat next to me on the bench and placed his hand on the side of my face.
“Y/N, I really want to kiss you right now” he glanced down at my lips for a moment before looking into my eyes once more.
“I really want to kiss you too James” once our lips touched it felt like time immediately stopped. He pulled me closer with one of his hands on my waist, I placed one hand on his face and my other got tangled in his hair. I tugged at it a little to see his reaction, the moan he gave in response was one of the best sounds I had ever heard. “I’m really glad that I finally told you how I feel” I said after we both pulled away for breath, smiling like idiots.
“I’m glad that I know how you feel too, and now I get to ask you to be my girlfriend. Y/N, will you be my girl?” he asked shyly with a cute little smile.
“Of course I will be you goof” I smile at him widely, feeling like I’m on cloud nine.
“You’re so beautiful, and perfect doll” he leaned in once more for a kiss that felt just as amazing as the first one, only this one got a bit more heated as it turned into a heavy make out session. That is, until everyone else came back from their day trip and Steve walked into the gym and accidentally saw two of his best friends making out in the middle of the gym.

feel free to add anything i missed, endgame haters.
This is a Wordpress post that I never posted about a Facebook post that I made last fall (2019) about how godawful Endgame was.
-------- I know I've been gone for a while and when I was here, I was writing about films I had watched. (Maybe I should start that.)
However, I am a HUGE fan of Marvel and their cinematic universe. I have the movies, the comics, the clothing, and far too much memorabilia to be considered a "casual" fan at this point. I've been reading comics for about twelve years and I started dedicating myself to the MCU around the end of Phase One.
That being said, it means everyone comes to me with their Marvel questions and everyone comes to me to see what I thought of each new film. And I don't give simple, "It was good. I really liked it," answers. I make complete strangers regret their own questions sometimes because I dive into the deep end immediately describing how they really pulled off the Mysterio "mind-bending" stuff fantastically, but how the story hinged really hard on Tony Stark when Peter in the comics stands on his own and Peter in the MCU should be able to as well.
I can give you speeches on the reason why Natasha's backstory would have been better established in The Winter Soldier than Age of Ultron or and how killing off Pietro in his first film did a disservice to Wanda's character, etc, etc. In the words of a person I passed by at work the other day, "I can talk the ears off a snake."
That's not the point of this post. That was just establishing that I am very dedicated and I Care deeply about these characters and this world.
That being said, when someone on Facebook not too long ago asked me to share my opinions on Avengers: Endgame, I asked him if he was really prepared for the novel I was going to spill on why I think that Endgame was a poorly written and directed film. He said his was. But his lack of any response to my novel was proof that he clearly was not.
However, for anyone else wondering, I copied that little book of a response and I'm posting it here. It's a little scrambled up (it was a facebook post so these things happen, okay?). I think it will still get the point across as to why I tell people that if I pulled the good parts of Endgame, I could make a really great thirty minute Avengers movie.
The post went as follows:
-Thor’s characterization was a three hour long fat joke. Thor had the most character growth out of anyone in Infinity War. His part was fantastic. Then they turned around and made everything about it completely idiotic. Thor has lived over a thousand years. He’s lost battles and lost countless, countless people before. Infinity War wasn’t the first time he made a mistake in battle that cost someone their life. He lost his entire family and almost all of friends and none of that turned him into lazy, sloppy, unshowered, fat Thor. I refuse to believe this time would magically break him. Character annihilation.
Banner has hated the Hulk for the entirety of Hulk’s existence. He’s talked about how exposed and vulnerable it makes him feel. He’s always been a quiet, shy, reclusive, and work-focused kind of guy. Now magically, he’s happy being Hulk 24/7, dabs, and takes selfies with kids? He’s hanging out in public as Hulk and drawing attention to himself? Sorry. Refuse to believe it. I know Professor Hulk is from the comics. It seems stupid and forced there too. I’m not of the opinion that just because something is found in comics that it’s necessarily a good thing. I’ve read plenty of bad comics as I’m sure any decent comic reader has.
-Tony isn’t awful. I actually think he’s done pretty well. No complaints.
-However, Pepper is awful. And it makes sense now that they’ve released the info that Gwyneth Paltrow just made up a lot of her own lines. She doesn’t know the character despite having played her for a decade. Pepper is always super cautious and she is constantly on Tony’s case about his heroic ventures, etc. Therefore, I find it incredibly hard to believe that she let him go without a fight after he “solved time travel.” I also find it absolutely impossible that she sits beside him as he’s dying and is peaceful enough to just tell Tony that he’s okay and he should rest. Per her character for the last decade, she should have been frantic. Of course it wouldn’t have been as sad and poetic an ending, but it would have been much more believable for the character.
-Clint. Meh. I can live with Clint, I think. I don’t love it or hate it. I am glad they reestablished his closeness with Natasha after AoU tried to erase it.
-Natasha. I actually like Natasha’s character in this one. Same as Tony, I think they wrote her without compromising her. Good for them. Even though I hate that they killed her off, I think that the final scene where she fights Clint is SO WELL DONE. (Except her father wasn’t named Ivan. Not even in the MCU. But whatever. Maybe Markus and McFeely know absolutely nothing about Russian names despite giving Natasha’s full name in CA:TWS. I’ll chalk it up to ignorance. Whatever.) HOWEVER, despite liking Natasha’s character and death scene, the death should not have happened. I don’t know if you’re a comic reader, but if you are, you know that the trip happens where you see the bad guy or a random person or whatever do a Bad Thing. Then later in the comic, when the Bad Thing comes into play again and there seems like absolutely no hope, the hero pulls out One Last Magic Trick. The hero manages to do what the previous person could not. And they Save the Day because they are the hero. And the hero is the one designed to give readers hope that we can overcome all odds, etc. It is literally the entire point of superhero stories to tell the stories that “realistic” books never could. We’ll come back to my complaint with Natasha’s death in a moment.
-Scott, Rhodey, Rocket, Carol were all fine. No complaints. But Okoye.
They made it out in promo that Okoye was going to have a much more significant part. She was barely in the thing. And I think it was a very missed opportunity. We saw T’Challa turn to dust. And we were told Shuri did (although, I would have paid much bigger money to see her alive and operating as The Black Panther. She’s assumed that mantle in the comics before so definitely not out of the realm of possibility.) I wanted them to show us what Wakanda would look like with half its population dusted and its ruler gone. Does M’Baku rule? What do Okoye and the Dora Milaje look like now without their King and who do they protect/defend? They had a great opportunity to show us how the world was faring after five years post-Snap, especially a place like Wakanda that rarely suffers any devastations due to their tech. Now without that protection, how are they handling the aftermath? Enormous missed opportunity.
-Steve. On my god. Where do I even start? Going into Endgame, Steve Rogers had the BEST story arc of anyone in the MCU. But here is where Marvel really shot themselves in the foot. They let the opinions of fans after Civil War severely alter their original plans for this film. (That’s a fact that’s been admitted by former Marvel employees. I didn’t make that up.). After Civil War came out, there were two strong opinions being voiced. 1) Fans who didn’t know the comics didn’t understand Sharon being there and didn’t like her quickly becoming Steve’s love interest. 2) Fans saw the always-present and ever-growing bond between Steve and Bucky and got bolder about their campaign that Steve and Bucky were a couple. Doesn’t matter if you’re for that or not. The fact of the matter is that the idea of them as a couple has A BIG FOLLOWING. I don’t think people were really pushing to see it become a real thing on screen or anything, but the execs at Marvel suddenly did this thing where they all quickly shouted “NO HOMO” really loudly and promptly dropped Bucky from as many scenes as possible. They admitted to creating distance between Steve and Bucky for this reason. And because Steve and Sharon didn’t get the reaction they wanted, they had Steve go back and get back with Peggy.
But let’s recap here and see if any of that makes sense for Steve Rogers.
—He and Bucky were “inseparable on both playground and battlefield.”
—He literally broke the law and went behind enemy lines against orders just in case he had even the slightest chance of finding and saving Bucky from a Hydra base. He didn’t even know if Bucky was still alive.
—He added Bucky to his elite team and they fought side by side until Bucky’s “death.” When Bucky “died,” Steve went from saying, “I don’t want to kill anyone. I don’t like bullies” to saying, “I’m not going to stop until all of Hydra is dead or captured.”
—Years later, when he realized Bucky was still alive, he literally stopped mid-fight and dropped all defenses. Later in the same film (on the helicarrier), he refuses to even fight Bucky. He drops his shield and was going to very willingly let Bucky kill him rather than fight him.
— When the Accords become a thing, Steve defied his own friends and 117 countries to get Bucky to safety. And then continues defying them with Bucky at his side because he is determined that Bucky deserves due process and a lawyer and help, not imprisonment.
— He helps Bucky get somewhere safe to hide and recover and visits him there. (Russos said they even discussed showing that Steve and Bucky were in regular contact between CW and IW.)
—He fights the Battle of Wakanda with Bucky and then gets to see him disintegrate right in front of him. It’s built up to be a very big moment. Bucky collapses into nothingness and Steve sits there touching Bucky’s dust remnants and with tears in his eyes. “Oh, God.”
—Then, magically comes Endgame and Steve is in a support group for people lost in the Snap and he’s grieving over PEGGY??? HE NEVER EVEN WENT ON A DATE WITH PEGGY. NOT ONE DATE. He kissed her ONE TIME very briefly 75+ years ago! HOW CAN HE BE SO SURE THEY WERE SOULMATES?! This is just awful writing.
— Then when everyone is brought back through the portals, Steve doesn’t even look for Bucky to make sure he’s there. They fight far away from one another. They never acknowledge the other one. These men have literally looked at each other before thinking that would be the last face they ever saw and then at the Battle to End All Things, they don’t even glance around to see if the other is present.
— Steve literally barely says goodbye to Bucky. He fought and was willing to die for the man, but now he is in such a rush to get back to that one girl he kissed that one time that he forsakes the people he should care about. (Sebastian Stan says he questioned this to the Russos and was actually told to just imagine Steve and Bucky must have talked it over offscreen and Sebastian tried to fight it, but was shot down.)
— Steve jumps in a time machine and goes back to live with his supposed soulmate thus creating an alternate timeline.
I have a real problem with this. A man who has been selfless his entire life chose to go and be selfish for 75+ years instead of helping anyone. This man lives to fight injustices and we are supposed to forget that? In order to believe that he went back to a woman he didn’t know that well and who already had a husband/children. CA:TWS showed that she had lived a happy life. She told him she only regretted that he didn’t get to live his. She didn’t regret them not getting to spend theirs together. And he didn’t seem to either. He was actively moving forward with his life. Thus the reason for Sharon.
Anyway, his entire story arc which is based around him being partners with Bucky and him being selfless got absolutely destroyed when he went back in the time machine and just ran away from everything he had built.
Which seems more likely? That everything in the three Cap films and IW was wrong about his character? Or that Endgame just slapped a big “No Homo” sticker on the script and did whatever they could possibly do to make sure fans could not say that Steve and Bucky were a thing?
Furthermore, I have no problem with Sam becoming the next Cap. I have a big problem with them doing it if the reason was to further the sever the ties between Steve and Bucky.
-And the Russos said that Bucky couldn’t be Cap because his mind had been compromised and that he couldn’t be trusted with a weapon. Which means that Bucky’s whole recovery story was what? A lie? They established that Bucky was really a great guy and not a terrible terrorist. And they said Shuri fixed his mind. And we still can’t trust the guy with the shield?
So either Shuri failed dramatically even though we saw her talent and progress with him in Black Panther and IW, Bucky is now magically “too broken,” or the writers and directors are stupid.  Your call, I guess.
They literally foreshadowed Bucky!Cap in all three Cap films. Bucky handles the shield in ALL THREE FILMS. But now he can’t be trusted with a weapon? Now he’s dangerous? He literally fought the battle of Wakanda with knives and an assault rifle. The shield is a DEFENSE weapon. So this excuse is the flimsiest argument ever and says horrible things about putting trust/faith in people after they’ve been victims and recovered from trauma. Gross.
-At least they FINALLY got Scarlet Witch right. I’ve been waiting to see my favorite Avenger done right for years. No complaints here except it took them long enough.
-Let’s not even discuss how their time travel ideas and theories are a MESS. Plot holes everywhere. (Steve would have created a new time line by going back. Did he just magically put the aether back in Jane? Did he have to kick Red Skull’s ass again on Vormir because I can’t imagine he would just stand by idly. This stuff would take me too long to even add onto here.)
-But back to Natasha. If it’s a “soul for a soul,” then when Steve returned the soul stone, he should have gotten Natasha back. Apparently a lot of fans saw this plot hole because they asked the Russos about it and the response they seriously got was something to the idea of, “No, you can’t do that. It doesn’t work that way.” Which WHY NOT? (Apparently because of poor writing.)
-Also not bitter (yeah right) that Tony got this big deal send off and everyone forgot about Natasha half an hour after she died. Shouldn’t the big send off at the end have been for both of them?!?! Would that have been SO hard?!
-Should I even discuss the fact that for some stupid reason Steve goes back in time and the serum stops working? Why does he age? Thor establishes in AoU that he doesn’t think Steve is mortal. And Peggy says in CA:TFA that Steve’s cells regenerate at four times the rate of average human cells. So he should still be fairly young even if he went back to the 40s. He shouldn’t start to age like a regular human just because he time traveled. He didn’t travel back to before he got the serum. I literally said, “No,” angrily the second they showed the back of Steve when he was sitting on that bench at the end. The other people in the theater turned to look at me and I was already pissed as hell and the movie wasn’t even over yet.
-Nebula having to kill her last self just seemed sloppy and cliche. I wasn’t impressed. That character had been through hell.  She is the one who really turns the tides in in the Infinity Saga comics so for her to get such poor treatment in the film?  SHE should have been the one to kill Thanos.  I know what Thor said, but Nebula literally has a lifetime of torture to make up for and she would have gotten some small consolation in avenging the death of her sister. GUH.  THIS MAKES ME SO ANGRY.  SHE DESERVED THIS.
-So we really just backtracked and retconned Gamora’s whole story like that, huh?  I’m sure James Gunn is thrilled. (I’m joking. I’d be annoyed to high heavens if I were him.) Gunn had literally written this character’s story arc and progression and the Russos and Markus/McFeely took over and then literally wrote the story equivalent of “and then they all died” with Gamora’s story.  Such a jerk move and I sincerely hope Gunn finds a way to make GotG Vol 3 work out really well despite this.
I’m sure there’s more I’m unhappy with, but you get my point. I had high hopes for this film and they did not deliver.
It’s been months and I am still so immensely disappointed in Endgame. I expected the people who had written such great films in the past to deliver with another great film and they did not.
It wasn’t a completely awful film though. I thought they did a really good job with Doctor Strange and Wanda (finally!). And I loved Steve lifting Mjölnir! Carol’s short hair made me hot and bothered.  So the film had a few perks.
I have friends who liked the film until I started pointing out its flaws. Sorry, not sorry. I'm glad Marvel broke box office records, but I'm not going to lie to anyone and say it was with a great film.
They are ----- And look, I never posted it on my blog because the rant ends there mid sentence and was never completed, but I think it’s safe to say I’m not happy.  That great cinematic masterpiece is a mockery of good character arcs. Anyone is welcome to try, but I’m unlikely to change my mind.
ETA: Since writing this, I have found multiple things about Tony’s character that upset me too.

The Lion King 2019 Review: What I Liked, What I Didn’t, and How It Compares to the Original
Non-spoilery overview and note to anyone debating watching this-
If you’re looking for this film to give you something that the original didn’t, you will be disappointed. This is a nearly shot-for-shot exact recreation of the original for most of the movie. There are some minor changes, but no major differences in plot.
However
It’s definitely worth seeing- once on a matinee ticket at the very least- if you enjoyed anything about the original. It’s pretty faithful to the source material and the hyper-realism of the animation really is best viewed on a big screen. The comedy is solid, the changes they made to the story and characters were good decisions, and as a guy that was literally raised on the original movie and grew up loving every part of it, i did legitimately enjoy seeing this remake with my mother (who introduced me to the original when I was very little) and getting to share this story that I loved with my younger sister for the first time.
If all you are here for is the “Let’s Go Lesbians” guy you will be satisfied
Spoilers under the cut
What I Liked:
The visuals of the opening sequence alone are worth the price of admission. They’ve lovingly recreated the iconic intro nearly frame for frame in astounding detail. It really succeeded in taking me back to my three-year old self seeing the original for the first time on my family’s little box tv, captivated by the visuals and score.
Timon and Pumbaa were legitimately funny and are stronger characters than in the original.
They kept the aspects of Scar that made him sinister, conniving, and creepy without stepping into queer-coding territory. They also didn’t apply racial coding to him in the overt way they did in the original.
At first I was disappointed by Rafiki’s lack of a staff in the opening, but I was later pacified by its appearance for the final battle. I would however, have liked to see the “oh yes, the past can hurt” bit between him and Simba, which was absent in this version.
I felt that the introduction of the hyena characters in the elephant graveyard was stronger in this version, but i do wish that the chase scene had gone on for longer. It’s significantly shorter than the original, and the cubs don’t fight back like they did in the original.
The hyenas played a larger role where they had much more agency, and the relationship between them and Scar was on more equal footing. Shenzi was an especially welcome change, presenting a truly chilling presence easily rivaling Scar’s. Florence Kasumba’s performance really stands out. Additionally Eric Andre and Keegan-Michael Key’s hyena characters served as quality comic relief without any jokes straying into possible able-ism.
The ‘pinned-ya’ scenes were re-choreographed to be more like two kids wrestling and didn’t have the awkward sexual implications some people point out in the original.
This version offers a quick explanation as to why Scar is living with the pride despite the typical customs of real lions
The mouths were really animated very well, and were for the most part very expressive. They were a bit hard to track during the songs, but generally words were formed pretty believably in their mouths and expressions such as smiles or grimaces were rendered very clearly without looking foreign on an animal face. This was by far best achieved on Timon and the hyenas, but was decent on the lion cubs, Scar, and most of the minor characters as well. The other adult lions weren’t as expressive, but they’re weren’t terrible either.
The animation of Timon, Pumbaa, and the hyenas continually impressed impressed me throughout the course of the film. They were simultaneously the most consistently realistic looking and the most expressive. I honestly don’t understand why some people are coming for Pumbaa and saying he’s ‘nightmare fuel’, his design was both very friendly looking and accurate to real warthogs. He and Timon seemed to be the favorites of both the kids and adults in my theater.
The short scene where adult Simba gleefully pounces after a pair of butterflies and invites a scared Hartebeest hang out, oblivious to his own  status as a carnivore, was pretty adorable.
Timon and Pumbaa were more or less confirmed to be a gay couple, and are shown with their own piglet during the ending sequence. This isn’t lingered on for longer than necessary, just long enough for you to appreciate how adorable the little striped piglet is, and thus it comes off as more genuine than performative allyship (it’s definitely better than Beauty and the Beast’s “exclusively gay moment” or Endgame’s Gay Joe Russo). It also helps that Timon isn’t being portrayed by a straight guy leaning as hard into the camp gay stereotype as possible. It was a moment that I, as a queer person, actually enjoyed.
What I Didn’t:
I felt that the musical score wasn’t as strong as the original. I wanted that first note over the sunrise to shake the theater, to bang across the screen in brilliant gold, and when it didn’t, I was disappointed. I felt this way regarding the score and soundtrack for much of the film.
While much of the dialogue matched the original nearly word for word, the delivery of most of it was much more subdued. I understand that they were going for a grittier tone that was less cartoon-y, but a lot of Scar and adult Simba’s lines seemed like they were mumbled off at the end of a work day and they’d just given up on trying to get a better take. Donald Glover seemed to teeter between Marshall Lee and complete disinterest a lot of the time.
I would have liked to have seen more of Rafiki than what we got, and I’d been hoping for an expansion on his role from the original rather than a reduction.
The “I killed Mufasa” bit was done very well- Chiwetel Ejiofor’s delivery of the line was chilling (although not as much as Jeremy Irons’), the expression in Scar’s eyes was very sinister, the light of the fire hit him just right. The following revelation of this truth to the lionesses however was bumbly, and seemed like it was originally written to be longer but was quickly and awkwardly condensed. It really didn’t flow as well as the original.
The end battle between Scar and Simba was anti-climactic. The choreography and visuals were much more creative and suspenseful in the original. The blows didn’t really have much weight or ferocity to them, and they didn’t coincide as well with the score. There also was no sick kick move, Scar literally just accidentally rolls off the cliff. The showdown between Nala and Shenzi is far better- it’s vicious and animalistic, with a few shots having them silhouetted with fire roaring behind them, Nala’s massive teeth shown off impressively in profile.
From the very first introduction of Scar, it’s strongly and very overtly implied that Sarabi is the one that gave him the scar after he attempted to advance on her despite her rejecting him. This is revisited again when he commands Sarabi to be his queen upon his assuming of the throne. She again rejects him. With this moment being played twice, I expected this to be a plant for a later third scene of Sarabi temporarily putting Scar back in his place, or at least threatening to take his other eye, to replace the scene from the original where he slaps her across the face. Scar and Sarabi do eventually come to blows as Simba and Nala return to Pride Rock, but it’s very brief and sort of just a clumsy grapple without a clear winner, and with no reference to their apparent backstory. This comes off as a case of planting without payoff. I expect that either a scene such as the one i described was originally planned and cut for time, or it was thought that the implications of such a scene might bring the film up towards a PG-13 rating.
I wish that in the more harrowing sequences, such as the elephant graveyard chase and the stampede scene, that we could see some real fear on the character’s faces. There’s some really good tensing of the body and some bared teeth, but there’s not much in the eyes. I feel the emotion would have been communicated better if the pupils were dilated, if the eyes were darting back and forth with the whites showing at the edges occasionally, the ears flattened down hard against the head. The child actors put forward some really believable fear and sadness through their voices, but the faces just didn’t quite match it. I do however understand that this is a kid’s film, and that showing a hyper-realistic lion cub gripped with sheer terror or coming to the understanding of the gravity of death is probably too much for most young kids. I personally just prefer to have truly heartwrenching, impactful, and emotional scenes in the media I consume, and I often walk away unfulfilled in this respect (although, i admit i am very difficult to please in this area- i’ve been a die-hard mcu fan for the better part of a decade and i left my first watch of infinity war almost completely unaffected.)
Continuing from the last point- The eyes on most of the characters were very static. They rarely blinked, only really looked straight ahead and lacked any range of expression beyond neutral and slightly squinted. The expression of emotion could have been greatly facilitated by the use of the brow muscles, dilating and contracting of the pupils, more squinting and widening, some side-eye or eye-rolling, etc. Even using some more body language would have made a world of difference (for example- an excited cub wriggling with excitement, his paws shifting and his little butt scooting in the sand because he just can’t contain himself, his shoulders shaking with high-pitched giggles) Emotion was delivered quite well through the mouths, but almost not at all through the eyes. This made the scene where Simba discovers his dead father especially awkward looking. JD McCrary delivers some heartbreaking cries and a few tear-choked lines, and the little cub body shakes and cowers, but Simba’s cgi face retains a completely neutral expression. Its a very cute, and perfectly realistic face for a lion cub, but it’s a face that feels inappropriate for this context. Adult Simba and Nala are the worst offenders in this respect. Simba looks almost like a plush doll, almost never changing expression at all. Nala looks superbly hyper-realistic, but... too realistic. She’s as perfect of a cgi lioness model you could possibly ask for, but because of this, there’s no intelligence in her eyes for some of the shots. It’s strange and distracting to hear a human voice come out as her mouth moves realistically while the eyes retain a vacant animal stare. This is really weird to me as there are multiple moments in the film where they absolutely nail the eyes- the sequence where Simba chases Rafiki through the dense jungle, several shots of Nala sneaking away from Pride Rock by moonlight, the close-up of Scar as he reveals to Simba that he killed Mufasa. The commonality between these shots seems to be strong directional lighting, where light from the moon or a fire can catch the irises and make the expression in them really pop. Closeups of Mufasa’s face showed that they had unprecedented control of the facial muscles- they moved with intricate complexity under the skin and fur- and yet the eyes were blank. It’s disappointing that they clearly had the capability to get the eyes right and apparently just didn’t allow the cg artists enough time to apply this consistently.
The slow motion zoom away from Simba’s face as he watches his father fall from the cliff face is admittedly ridiculous looking in cgi. This “long live the king” doesn’t come anywhere close to the original. Mufasa’s climb up the cliff is pretty good, but the fall feels flat and unemotional.
The sequence tracking the wad of Simba’s hair went on for too long.
The story seemed much faster paced than the original, and each scene seemed to be too short, leaving me wanting more. Some of the scenes feel awkwardly chopped or condensed, and some of the dialogue is a bit bumbly. This movie kinda relies on you being very familiar with the original.

Rose was 10 when her parents died. Tony was home from studying abroad, watching TV with her, they had just celebrated his 21st birthday. He always let her do whatever she wanted to, gave her candy for dinner, let her watch rated R movies. “She’s gonna go in the basement.” Rose said, throwing some popcorn as her and Tony watched some crappy old horror movie. Tony laughs reaching for the bowl, “well yeah. Of course she is.” He commented watching as the dumb blonde in the movie makes her way down the stairs to the basement. “Don’t they ever learn? It would be much easier to draw him out from the middle floor, that way they aren’t trapped.” Rose sighs, giggling as the Slasher inevitably crams a butcher knife through the poor girls chest. “Not a bad idea tot.” Tony smiles, ruffling her hair watching with a smile as she complained and fixed her hair again. “You think Daddy would watch this movie with me? I wanna show him...” Rose trailed off and Tony’s heart ached. Howard wasn’t the most loving Father but Tony knew he loved Rose. “You’ll have to ask him when he gets back. I think he would.” Tony smiled, turning back to the movie.
3 loud bangs on the door made Rose jump. She paused the movie as Tony stood- telling her to wait on the couch. “Don’t make a sound tot okay?” Tony added as he reached for the door handle. Rose nodded, not being able to see who was on the other side once the door was opened- it blocked her view. Tony’s face fell- and Rose saw an envelope in his hands. Tony closed the door, leaning back against it as he looked at Rose. She stood up instantly, “what’s that?” She asked- pointing to the envelope. Tony couldn’t speak, or move as she took it from his hands. He wanted to take it from her but he was frozen- Mom...Dad...dead? Rose ripped open the envelope, I’m sorry to inform you that a few nights ago Howard and Maria Stark were killed in a car accident..., wait...what? “Tony? What is this?” Rose asked, tears filling in her eyes. “Tony, is this a condolence letter?” Rose cried, becoming hysterical. Tony remained frozen as Rose dropped the letter and opened the front door.
Rose collapsed in the driveway- they were supposed to be home tomorrow. This isn’t happening, this isn’t real. Rose felt something building in her chest, getting bigger and heavier by the second. Her hands clamped over her ears as tears fell down her cheeks, she squeezed her eyes shut- that feeling in her chest bursting open in a scream. She screamed until her throat was raw, and then the world went black. It wasn’t for a few hours until Rose awoke, and when she did she was in her bed. Rose sat up, looking around- “Tony? Tony!” She called and he was in her room in a second. He sat on the edge of her bed, his eyes red and raw. “They’re...they’re really dead?” Rose asked, her eyes wide and watery. Tony nodded, and pulled Rose into his chest. Rose cried, and held onto Tony with all her strength- he’s all she has left. She can’t lose him- she doesn’t have anyone else. “Yeah tot, and I promise I’ll never leave you. I love you kiddo.” Tony whispered, kissing her head.
***
Rose was 27 when Tony went missing. It was a business trip, a missiles presentation. He should be home by now, but he wasn’t. Tears were in her eyes as she sat on the couch at her and Tony’s house- watching the news report his disappearance. They’re saying he was kidnapped by terrorists- Rose felt her chest squeeze and her heart ache. This isn’t happening- first Mom and Dad, and now Tony? God please not Tony. God please save him- bring him back to me. Rose prayed, on her knees with her head in her hands. “Ms. Stark?” Pepper cleared her throat, tears in her eyes. Rose looked up at her and Pepper was wrapping her arms around Rose- holding her as they cried. If he’s dead, then Rose is dead too. She can’t do this without him- she can’t live without him. That feeling in her chest never came, and it might sound crazy but she knew he wasn’t dead- it’s like she could feel it. “We just have to have faith okay? He’s alive, he’s out there, they’re looking for him. They’ll find him.” Pepper said, wiping away Rose’s tears.
The helicopter flew low over the desert, if Rose wasn’t rich and now the possible Heir to the Stark fortune and business they wouldn’t have let her come. Her eyes scanned the desert, looking for something- anything that could tell them where he is. Coming over a sand dune Rose sees a small figure, and when he yells she knows. “Tony! Oh my God it’s Tony! Take us down now!” She yells, already unbuckling her harness and she’s jumping to the ground before the helicopter has even fully touched down. She’s sprinting to him, seeing cuts, scars and bruises all over him but he’s smiling. She felt tear down her cheeks as she dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around him. Tony smiled, “hey tot.” He rasped, and she laughed- tears streaming. “God Tony you’re alive.” Rose whispered, placing her hands on his cheeks and looking in his eyes. “I promised I wouldn’t leave you.” Tony said, and Rose let out a deep breath. “Next time can you just FaceTime them?” Rose asked and Tony chuckled.
“What happened?” Rose asked on the plane, eyeing the blue circular piece of technology sticking out of my chest. Tony took her hand, “explosion left pieces of debris in my heart, and this stops them from getting to my heart.” Tony explains and Rose can tell he doesn’t want to talk about what he went through. “Remember when Mom used to play the piano?” Rose asked and Tony smiled, he looked over at Rose. “She used to play that same song constantly- drove Dad crazy.” Tony added and Rose giggled, remember her Father’s annoyed expression when he would hear the first few notes of that song start. “You’re a lot like Dad sometimes, you internalize things too much. You keep to yourself more than you should.” Rose tells Tony, watching as he looks away. She’s right- he knows she is. It’s just easier to never talk about how you feel in hopes that feeling will disappear. “Not talking about it doesn’t make it go away Tony.” Rose adds- almost as if she can read his mind. He’s not surprised she knew what he was thinking, Rose knows him better than anyone else. So he looked at her, and he told her- and you know he really hates to admit it but it made him feel better. Talking to Rose makes him feel better.
***
Rose was 29 when she met Loki. She watched him through the monitor connected to the security camera. Loki was the kind of man she had never met before- he was completely in control even when he seemed helpless. He sat on the bench in the circular prison meant for the Hulk, he didn’t seem stressed he looked utterly content. Rose felt drawn to him- and she didn’t know if she was okay with that or terrified. Tony watched her and grabbed her arm gently, “you stay away from him okay? You’re not to go near him.”  Tony ordered and Rose nodded- not arguing with him. Tony always knows what’s best for her. Tony turned and headed to the Lab Bruce was in and Rose found herself walking and followed her feet to the prison Loki was trapped in. He didn’t notice her come in- and if he did he pretended he didn’t. But out of the corner of his eye he sees her, and she’s beautiful. For a woman from Midgard. He turned to her, with a wide smile on his face- “to what do I owe the pleasure?” Loki asked her and her throat hitched in her throat. He looked ethereal- he was perfect in every way. Like a God should be. “I-” She started but her throat went dry.
Loki smiled coyly, “are you nervous?” He asked, a teasing smile on his face. A deep blush made it’s way to her cheeks- she found herself stepping towards the glass, wanting to be closer to him. What’s the matter with her? Thor is a God, and he never had this affect on her- he was more rugged while Loki was more refined. “You- you haven’t tried to escape.” Rose mumbled, her voice shaking. Her eyes widened when he stood up and made his way towards her on the other side of the glass. “That’s because darling, I’m exactly where I want to be.” Loki said lowly, raising a brow at her expression. An expression of wanting- and a bit of fear. He intimidated her. “Are you?” Loki asked, loving the deer-caught-in-headlights look on her face. Rose swallowed thickly, her heart thumping wildly in her chest. There was a softness in his eyes when he talked to her, a look that Loki himself wasn’t aware of. Unintentionally Loki was gentler with her. She didn’t know what to say to him- or why she came here at all. Rose turned on her heel to leave when he spoke, “what’s your name darling? I can’t let you leave before I can know you.” Loki said, a cocky smile sliding over his lips.
“R-Rosalie Stark.” She stammered, turning to look at him once more. Stark? “Ah you must be related to the man made of Iron.” Loki smiled and Rose nodded, “Yeah and he’d be very angry if he knew I was in here.” She said, and Loki smiled, “rebelling are we?” He teased and Rose actually laughed. Genuinely laughed, there was something about Loki that made her want to be near him. “You know I would have expected you to behave more like a caged animal all locked up in this prison.” Rose comments, feeling surprisingly comfortable with him. “Maybe if you weren’t here I would be.” Loki said- his eyes piercing through her. A deep blush crawls up her neck once more. Loki sees how easy it would be to use her- but something in him feels almost sick at the thought of using her. She weakens him- it makes him want to push her away. He needs to succeed, the consequences will be too dire if he doesn’t. They’ll have his head- he doesn’t have room for weakness.
Rose feels a hand around her arm, and a concerned and almost angry expression cross Loki’s face. She turns seeing Tony dragging her out of the room, “what the hell did I say?” Tony snapped, clearly angry at her. Loki stood, watching him forcefully drag her away from him- and he hates that. He hates that Tony drug her out of the room. He didn’t need to put his hands on her, and for the first time since Loki has been here, he feels angry. “Tony I-” Rose started but was silenced but the mere look he gave her. “Rose he’s dangerous. Do you not understand that? He doesn’t care about you or anything- Thor is his damn brother and he tried to kill him!” Tony snapped, once they’d gotten to the Lab. “Anyone can be changed Tony!” Rose yells back and his eyebrows raise. “Do you- do you care about him? Rose he’s a God who is not only insane but has absolutely no morals and is drunk with power. This little crush has to stop- now.” Tony yells, storming out of the Lab. Rose felt angry tears wet her cheeks as Bruce kept working, he looked up at her. “Rose, I commend you for your good nature and your willingness to help others but Loki? Loki can’t be saved.” He says gently, but Rose knows he’s wrong. They’re all wrong. Loki can be saved.
When Nat is sent in to interrogate him Rose slips out of the Lab without Tony noticing. Rose listens out of view, “you’re a monster!” Nat cries but Rose can tell she’s faking it. “No- you brought the monster.” Loki smiles and Nat immediately reports back, “he means on releasing the Hulk.” Nat says quickly making her way out of the room. Rose emerges from her hiding place, “you wouldn’t really do that...we’ll all die. The Hulk will rip this ship apart and clear out of the sky.” Rose says weakly, and she swears she sees Loki’s face fall a little. “Of course not darling, of course not.” Loki lies, and Rose nods. Loki examines her arm, seeing the red marks. “Your brother did that to you?” Loki asks, expression darkening. Rose looks down at her arm, knowing Tony will feel guilty he hurt her. “He didn’t mean to- he was just angry.” Rose says softly. Loki looks at her, “come here.” He says sternly but gently. “W-why?” Rose stammers and Loki smiles.
“Do you trust me?” Loki asks, his eyes not leaving hers. “No.” Rose says softly and this causes his smile to grow wider, “Good. Come here.” He orders again and Rose takes tentative steps forward, opening the door before stepping inside. The door doesn’t slide shut behind her, “you’re not trying to escape. The door is open...” Rose trails off- nervous as he approaches her. “I’m exactly where I need to be darling.” He says smoothly. Rose clears her throat, looking up at him. He’s very tall. “What do you want?” She asks and Loki smiles, leaning in to whisper in her ear, “sorry about this darling.” He murmurs, pressing his fingers to her temple. In an instant she is unconscious, and Loki hears the Hulk’s roar. Loki lifts Rose to his chest, holding her bridal style as Thor runs into the room. Using his illusion magic, Thor thinks Loki is about to escape but launches himself into the prison only to discover Loki is already out- and holding Rose. “Loki, you can’t have her.” Thor says and Loki smiles. “I already do.” He says- his fingers dancing over the button to drop the cage into the ocean.
Rose’s eyes open briefly, to see Thor in the cage- and the cage drop from the ship. “Thor!” She says weakly, pushing herself from Loki’s arms. “No can’t go there darling- it’s not safe. Come here,” he says gently lifting her back into his arms again. Rose watches as she passes through the halls of the ships in Loki’s arms, “Loki you- can’t kidnap me...” She whispers using all her strength. Loki smiles, holding her tightly so no one can take her. “I have to keep you safe.” He tells her, before boarding an airplane. Loki doesn’t know why he took her- he just knows that he can’t let her leave his sight. He needs to keep her safe, he can’t let any harm come to her. Tony is no where to be found and Rose watches in disdain as the doors close and she falls unconscious once again.
Tony’s eyes widen in panic, “he- he took her?” Tony seethes, his fists curling. Steve was the first to say anything, “Tony we’ll get her back, we know he’s at Stark tower.” He says but Tony places both fists against one of the table as his head drops. His chest is heaving- if Loki does anything to her. Rose’s eyes open, laying on one of the couches at Stark Tower. Looking towards the window- she see’s Loki. “You kidnapped me.” Rose says, anger evident in her tone. Loki turns to look at her, “I need to keep you safe. Here is the safest place for you.” He explains, and Rose rolls her eyes. She stands and runs her fingers through her hair, “you kidnapped me Loki!” Rose yells, and Loki sighs. “In time you’ll see I did the right thing.” He tells her and she takes a deep breath. “Oh my God Tony must be so worried,” Rose says- turning to the elevator. Loki turns, his heart racing when he sees her trying to leave. “I assure you they’re on their way. Stay darling.” Loki says sweetly. Rose looks at him, thinking for a moment before turning back towards him. She goes to stand next to him by the window, watching in horror as aliens come from the sky.
“It’s going to be a mass slaughter...Loki stop this please!” Rose cries, her hands flying to her face. Loki doesn’t look over at her, “I can’t.” He says, his expression hard. Rose feels tears run down her cheeks, “why on Earth not?” She asks, and Loki swallows. “They won’t let me.” He says and Rose pinches her eyebrows together. “Who?” She asks and Loki looks up into the sky and then it dawns on her. The Aliens coming from the sky, they must have a leader of their own. Is Loki being forced to do this against his will? “Loki, why did you take me? I know you want to protect me but why? I mean nothing to you, you’re a God and I’m just...me.” Rose asks, turning away from the window- hoping Tony and the others will get here soon. Loki looks genuinely confused as he doesn’t know what to say, “I- I don’t know.” He says honestly. “I do know that you’re not nothing. You are a gift to the men of this world darling- your beauty is unmatched.” Loki says simply, looking away from her. Rose reaches for his hand, he flinches at first and nearly pulls away but lets her grab his hand.
Rose watches as Thor takes the tesseract and Loki and steps forward, Loki is in handcuffs and has a muzzle on. Rose feels her heart break at the thought of never seeing him again. Loki looks at her, and there’s a look in his eyes that tells her he feels the same way. Tears build in her eyes as the Rosenbridge  appears and takes Thor and Loki with it when it disappears. A single tear falls down her face as Tony wraps his arm around her. She turns towards Tony’s car, wiping away tears as they continue to fall. The drive back to the house is long and Tony doesn’t know what to say. Loki is a maniac and will only hurt Rose or get her killed. Maybe he does care for her- that doesn’t change the fact that he’s dangerous. Rose doesn’t say anything the entire time, no matter how many times Tony tries to lighten the mood. “So Pizza tonight?” Tony smiles but Rose looks vacantly out the window. His smile falls as he reaches for her hand, and she lets him. “Rose, you can’t choose you fall in love with. I’m sorry I was so hard on you, I just want to keep you safe.” Tony tells her and she turns to him, eyes red and watery. “I know, it’s okay. Of all people I can fall for- I fall for a God.” Rose scolds herself, continuing to wipe away tears with her free hand.

“Welcome home Brother, shall we throw you a homecoming party?” Thor teased, but Loki didn’t even glance his way. Thor smiled, “oh come no Loki, silver tongue turn to lead?” Thor laughs, but his laugh quickly fades when Loki remains silent walking up to the palace. Not even a smile, or a scowl, nothing. No eye roll, no witty comeback, Thor has never seen Loki so- somber. Thor thinks for a moment- and remembers Rose. Loki misses her, he misses having her near, and he hates that he let himself care for her. When she’s near him- he feels like he can be a better man. He wants her here, he can’t get her off his mind. “You miss her don’t you?” Thor says, not joking anymore. Loki doesn’t answer, but their brief eye contact is enough of an answer for Thor. Loki is lead into the throne room when Thor feels hopeful- if Loki genuinely cares for Rose then maybe she can change him. Maybe she can make him a better man- she can bring him back.
Loki is sentenced and brought to the cells when Thor comes forward to Odin. “Father, there was a woman on Earth that Loki- uh.. well got close to.” Thor explained and Odin’s eyebrows raised. “A human?” Odin said, a disapproving tone. Despite what Loki has done, Odin forbids any of this children to marry mortals. They live, decay, and die before an Asgardian gets a quarter of the way through their lives. “I think if we brought her here, she could help him. He was different when she was near-” Thor begins but Odin waves his hand, “we do not bring mortals here Thor, you know this.” Thor continues however, “Father Loki was gentler, more compassionate when she was near I know if we bring her here she can-” Odin cuts him off once more. “I said no Thor, we do not bring mortals here. No exceptions.” Odin snaps, growing frustrated.
“One of us has to try and save Loki!” Thor yelled in frustration, he knows Rose can change Loki. Odin stands, taking a deep breath. “Tell me about this woman.” Odin says finally and Thor lets out a deep breath. “She’s smart, and kind. She’s gentle, and I myself care for her- nothing more than a shield sister. Loki however was almost drawn to her, she has this power over him. She calms him, and humbles him. He’s different when she’s near.” Thor explains and Odin thinks for a moment. “He misses her,” Thor adds and Odin looks at him finally, “get her.” Thor smiles and turns back to head to the Bifrost.

Laying in bed, Rose can’t stop thinking about Loki. She misses him, and that sounds crazy because he’s a God. He’s probably bedding all the Goddesses as she speaks. She feels tears sting the back of her eyes again and a heaviness on her chest. She sits up, the tears building- why can she not just forget him? Her heart aches so much she can’t it anymore. He’s a God he could never love her, or even give a damn about her. She’s just a human- she’s not good enough for him. She probably annoyed him- he’s probably up in Asgard so glad to finally be rid of her. Its pathetic, he’s probably forgotten about her already while she can’t get him off her mind. She rinses her face with water when she hears a sound close to a mini explosion from outside, it sounds like- like lightning. She turns out of her room to see Thor strolling into her living room, Rose glances towards Tony’s door. He’s probably working, thank God. “Thor? What are you doing here?” Rose smiles, rushing to throw her arms around him.
“I’ve come to retrieve you.” Thor smiles, happy to see her. She’s been a good friend to Thor as of late. Her eyes widen, her heart beginning to beat wildly in her chest. “Why?” She asks, her pulse rising. Thor smiles, “My Father has requested your presence- for Loki.” Thor tells her and enjoys the wide smile that spreads across her face and the blush that prickles along her cheeks. Rose scribbles a note for Tony- who is going to be livid with her when she returns. After placing it on Tony’s door, Rose turns to her room, “wait, I have something for you to wear. Asgardian noble clothing.” Thor tells her, holding up a beautiful powder pink Asgardian dress. Rose smiles, turning into her room to change and when she emerges- Thor’s eyes widen as she smiles. “Your beauty has surpassed the Goddesses themselves Lady Rose.” Thor smiled and Rose blushed, looking down at her feet. Thor is the best and greatest friend she could have asked for. “Put your arms around me,” Thor says gently and Rose reaches up and hugs him tightly as he launches them into the air and back down into the grass.
“Heimdall, I’m ready.” And suddenly they are engulfed in colors and lights, and in a few seconds they’re flying through space. Rose holds tight to Thor as she watches the starts and nebula's pass right by her- plants, galaxy's, and so many things she’s never seen before. She lands with Thor on a platform of hold and a large man with a large sword smiles down at her. “Welcome to Asgard Ms. Stark.” Heimdall smiles, and Rose blushes, following Thor to the palace. Thor holds her again and flies them right to a large Throne room. “So you are the mortal that has claimed my sons troubled heart.” Odin says and Rose’s eyes widen as she bows before him- not knowing the proper way to greet the King of the 9 Realms. Odin smiles, appreciating her attempt to be proper in his presence. “Tell me your name child.” Odin says, looking down at her from the Throne. Rose clears her throat as nerves begin to take over, “Rosalie Stark your highness.” Rose says and Odin nods, “Lady Rose is it? Thor, bring him.” Odin orders and Thor nods, turning and walking deeper into the Palace. “I don’t know what it is my son likes so much about you Lady Rose, but Thor has reassured me that you can help my son. That is the only reason you are here.” Odin tells her and Rose can’t tell if its meant to be taken as a threat or not.
“So the all mighty King has demanded the presence of his disgraced Son has he? To what do I owe the pleasure my liege,” Loki says, fake bowing a cocky smile on his face- not having seen Rose yet. Odin’s face falls to annoyance as he gestures towards Rose. Loki looks to his left and his eyes widen- his heart immediately pounding wildly behind his ribcage. He smiled and took a step towards her, “just couldn’t stay away could you? Had to travel across planets just to get another look?” Loki teased- loving the way her cheeks darkened in a blush. “I don’t see you looking away either God of Mischief.” Rose bit back, a sly smile on her face. Odin could see within moments of them speaking that Thor was right- Loki cares for this mortal. Loki smiles down at her, and Odin looks at him. “Loki you will be permitted visits with this girl but if you try to escape- I will have her executed.” Odin threatens and Loki’s expression darkens.
“Touch her and I will-” Loki snaps pulling against his restraints, “if you follow my rules she won’t be harmed.” Odin says and Loki’s expression is so dark Rose fears he would attempt to kill Odin if he wasn’t restrained. Loki’s expression softens considerably when Rose places a hand on his arm. Loki turns, and holds out an arm for Rose to take. “I’ll give you the ‘Princes Exclusive’ tour of the dungeons. Just wait- it’s very homey down there. Glamorous.” Loki says with  a sarcastic smile and Rose giggles, leaning into him a little bit after taking his arm. “I can’t believe Odin stuck you in the dungeons.” Rose whispered low enough for Loki to hear but not loud enough for the guards leading them to hear. Loki smiles, “I have all the homey touches, don’t worry dove.” Loki says softly- her heart warming at the nickname. Upon entering the dungeons, all the prisoners eyes find their way to Rose- whistling and hollering. Loki’s expression darkens as they enter his cell and the cuffs are removed. The cell is sealed with both Rose and Loki inside. “We’ll come to retrieve you when the visit is over Lady Rose,” the guards inform her.
“Why do they keep looking at me like that?” Rose asks, feeling uncomfortable at the expression the prisoners are giving her. “It’s because you look ravishing dear, sculpted from the heavens.” Loki purrs, his pupils dilating. He takes a step towards her, and slowly, carefully places his lips on hers. Rose feels swarms of butterflies fluttering around in her abdomen and her heart pounding so hard she can hear it in her ears. The kiss is short and sweet but it’s enough to make her head swim. Loki takes her hand and pulls her to sit next to him on a bench and he pulls out a necklace with a beautiful emerald in the middle of a tree.
Tumblr media
“Loki it’s beautiful.” Rose breathes as he fastens it around her neck. Loki smiles, revealing that pinned to his collar is the same tree with the emerald in it. “I made these darling, so that when you can fall asleep I can enter your dreams. We can speak and be together while you sleep.” Loki explains- taking Rose’s hands. “Only as long as you wear that- I infused it with a magic that links us together.” Rose leans up and presses a kiss to Loki’s cheek when the guard returns to the door and Rose exits the cell. “I’ll see you tomorrow Lady Rose.” Loki smiles and Rose blushes- giving him a fake curtsy before she’s lead up the stairs. At the top she’s met by Thor who gives her a friendly smile, “hello Lady Rose.” He says- slightly raising a brow at the necklace around her neck. “It’s a gift from Loki.” Rose smiles as she follows Thor. He smiles, “Thor how long am I going to be here?” She asks and Thor’s face falls. “Probably not long I’m afraid. Just enough to appease Loki and calm him for a while.”
Rose follows Thor to her room, a big room with a large round bed in the middle. Up a few steps is a beautiful balcony closed off with double doors covered with white see through curtains. “This room is beautiful.” Rose comments, noticing more dresses hung along a wall near the bathroom. Thor smiles, “this is where you’ll be staying while you’re here.” Rose feels the soft bed sheets- this isn’t a fabric that exists on Earth. “Thank you Thor, there isn’t a chance I could contact my brother is there?” Rose asks- wanting to speak to Tony. “I’m afraid not, we don’t have intergalactic communication I’m afraid.” Thor apologizes with a teasing smile. Thor excuses himself from her room, after a servant delivers a tray of food.
After eating and changing into a nighttime dress, Rose lays in the covers making sure she has the necklace on. Letting herself fall to sleep- her eyes close and when they open she’s somewhere she’s never been before. It’s a beautiful house overlooking Asgard. Is she dreaming? “Hello darling,” Loki smiles, wearing only his under armor clothing. Rose smiles and stands to press her lips to his, “is this real?” She asks, stepping out onto the balcony. “Yes, we’re in your dream. What are you dreaming of dear?” Loki asks and Rose blushes. She fell asleep dreaming of having an actual life with Loki. “Of living here, it’s beautiful here.” She lies and Loki smiles- but there’s something off. “Are you okay?” Rose asks, turning to face him. Loki looks down at her, “you’re a mortal. I’m a God Rose.” Loki says suddenly going to sit down on the bed. Rose’s heart drops, “just because I’m a mortal doesn’t mean I’m less than-” “No, it means you will die thousands of years before I do.” Loki tells her, looking away.
“Then lets enjoy the time we do have.” Rose says, reaching up to pull his lips closer to hers. He kisses her back feverishly, laying her back against the bed. Rose’s head is swimming- their romance is a whirlwind but she’s in love with a God she wasn’t expecting anything less. Loki’s hands ghost over her body, tugging down the sleeves of her nightdress, his eyes asking permission. Rose nods, her cheeks a rosy red as the clothing is removed leaving her in nothing but her panties. His lips are feather light on her skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps as his lips trace down the curve of her neck. He presses light kisses to her skin and his lips find their way to her collarbones, pressing gentle kisses to both of them. “You are breathtaking darling,” Loki whispers, his hands lightly brushing down her sides. His fingers hook into the waistband of her panties, this time needing verbal consent. “May I darling?” He asks but she hesitates, “I want to, I just don’t know if this means to you what it means to me.” Rose whispers, “I know how I feel darling, do you?” Loki asks, gently brushing the tip of his nose against hers. Rose nods, giving Loki permission to slide her panties down her legs.
Loki leans back on his heels and takes her naked body in, her fair skin shining in the moonlight. Her chest is already heaving and he’s barely even touched her. “Loki please...” Rose whines, the sexual frustration becoming too much for her to handle. He smiles coyly as the tips of his fingers trail up her stomach and towards her breasts. Rose’s back arches up into his touch but his fingers trail back down her stomach again. He smiles as he presses gentle kisses to her inner thighs lips merely brushing against where she needs him the most. Rose has never felt anything like this before, her brain was static and she almost felt lightheaded, “are you sure you can take this darling? I’m no ordinary lover,” Loki asked sincerely, and Rose nodded. She couldn’t think straight enough to speak. Loki’s hand trails back up and finally brushes over her nipples, hard and ready for him. A groan escaped her lips as she looked down at him, the brilliant blue in his eyes almost gone as his pupils have blown wide open. His eyes are near black, with a thin blue ring around them. Rose was writhing under Loki, while he was still fully clothed. Loki has an affect over her body that no one else will ever have.
Loki presses a kiss to her core, sending jolts up her body as he presses soft and gentle kisses around her. He runs his fingers through her folds, making sure she’s good and wet for him before he begins to undress. Rose’s chest is heaving as she leans up on her elbows, watching him lose his clothing piece by piece. She wants to tell him those 3 stupid little words but her mouth won’t let her, every time she opens her mouth her throat goes dry and her heart starts pounding so fast she can’t think. She wants to say it every time she looks into his eyes, I love you. But she doesn’t know if he even feels that way- maybe he just wants her body. Maybe it’s all just a trick, he is a God. It wouldn’t be hard for him to fool her. Once his pants hit the ground, Rose is in awe. He’s absolutely breathtaking, he practically glows in the moonlight. He looks like a God, perfect. Loki leans over her, his face a mere few inches from her own. He smiles fondly at her, pressing his lips to kiss her slowly and intimately. Rose’s eyes widen when she feels him pressing into her. He slides in inch by inch, spreading her open with a sharp burn up her pelvis.
Loki presses kisses to her neck as she breathes through the pain, he’s bigger than she’s had before. Like a gentleman he waits until she’s ready for him to continue, and on the tip of his tongue are those 3 pesky little words he never thought he’d say to anyone. I love you. But he can’t love her, because one day he will lose her and be forced to live all those long years without her. That will drive him to the deepest pit of the darkness within him and he fears nothing will bring him back out of it. He pushes the words to the back of his throat when he feels her loosen considerably, and with a nod he’s sliding his hips back and her mouth falls open when he pushes them against her again. Rose moans softly as he gently continues to slide his hips back in long sensual strokes. This feels more like love making than anything else. Her hands wrap around his shoulders and back as he presses kisses to her shoulders and neck.
He continues to press his hips against her, keeping his rhythm even though he felt that familiar coil tightening, Rose screwed her eyes shut as her nails dug into his back, that tightening feeling building and building until it bursts, with Loki stuttering before stopping with a deep breath. He kisses her shoulder before sliding out of her and reaching for his pants. Rose pulls the night dress over her head and sits behind Loki, pressing kisses to his bare back. He smiles, “did that really happen or was it all just in my head?” Rose asked and Loki chuckled, “You’ll have to find out tomorrow dove. Look at my back, you’ll know then.” He teases, referring to the scratch marks along his back. “Go to sleep darling, you’ll see me again soon enough.” He smiles, kissing her forehead as she lays down and lets her eyes slide shut.

When her eyes open, she smiles. Rose leaps out of bed and dresses in a white and gold silk dress. Stepping into the hallway, Thor is nowhere to be found. “Excuse me but where is Thor?” Rose asks a guard, “The infirmary, Lady Rose, I can take you there if you’d like.” The guard offers and Rose nods. Entering the infirmary Rose sees Thor next to a woman with brown hair, “Thor?” Rose says, and he turns to look at her. “Good Morning Rose, this is Jane. She has a massive and powerful energy coursing through her, we’ve come to find out what it is.” Thor explains and Rose looks down at the woman and smiles. She glances between Rose and Thor and Rose smiles, “no Thor is my friend, one of my closest friends actually. I’m here for his brother- Loki.” Rose explains and her expression turns to anger. “You’re with Loki? That murderous, raving violent ass-” “Good morning Lady Rose, isn’t it time for your visit with Loki?” Odin smiles as he walks in, Rose smiles and bows before following a guard out of the room and down to the dungeons.
Her face widens in a smile when Loki comes into view, entering his cell Rose wraps her arms around him immediately. Rose smiles shyly as Loki lifts the bottom of his shirt just enough for her to see a few red scratches. A blush crawls over her face as Loki chuckles, wrapping his arms around her. Rose looks through Loki’s books as he sits back against his bench and watches her fondly. “You know having a King for a Father must be intimidating.” Rose comments and Loki scowls, “I wouldn’t know I never met my Father.” He says and Rose’s eyebrows raise, “I’m a Jotunn, a Frost Giant. I was taken by Odin when he decimated my people and my father Laufey cast me out.” Loki explains, “you’re a Frost Giant? Aren’t they big and well- blue?” Rose asks, remembering when Thor used to talk about them.
“Yes but I’m quite talented with Illusion Magic. I can choose to appear however I wish, my Mother told me when I was a baby Odin transformed my skin so I would blend in with Asgardian’s. Only touching a relic of the Jotunheim will bring out my true skin.” Loki explained, and Rose sat next to him, “but Thor described the Jotunn’s as though they’re monsters, you’re not a monster.” Rose asked and Loki’s eyes were cast to the ground. “If you think that’s true then you don’t know me very well.” Loki said coldly, and Rose felt taken aback. “But I do know you, I know who you really are. You can be the person I see in you, kind, giving, loyal, a true hero to the people.” Rose said, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Lady Rose we are having an emergency and we need to escort you to safety.” A guard said and Loki said. “She’s already safe, leave her with me.” Loki demanded, “Sorry sir, Thor’s direct orders were to bring her to him immediately.” One of the guards said while the other entered the cell and gently grabbed Rose’s arm.
“Loki!” Rose called as they took her out of the cell and towards the stairs. Loki can hear the screams of dying men and the clash of swords in the direction they were taking her, “please leave her here! You’re bringing her into danger!” Loki yelled, anger building in his veins. Rose looked back at Loki as she disappeared up the stairs and Loki felt nothing but absolute and utter panic in his veins. “Rose!” Loki called helplessly, listening to the sound of screaming. Rose was hauled along by the soldiers, seeing big elves in heavy armor cutting down all the Asgardian soldiers. “Oh my God,” She whispered as the guards finally delivered her to Thor. “Rose, thank goodness you’re okay.” Thor breathed, “This is my Mother Frigga- go with her she will keep you safe.” Thor instructs and Rose is taken away with Frigga. Loki paces in his cell as the battle has made its way to the dungeons, and he has nothing but fear and anger in his veins. If she were here with him he’d be able to protect her. Thor takes a step towards Loki’s cell- relieved to see he’s still in there and alive. “Where is she? I swear if you get her killed-” Loki growled.
“She’s alive and well brother, she’s gone with Mother.” Thor snapped but Loki’s heart didn’t stop pounding wildly in his chest. Rose hid in Jane’s room with Frigga, fighting off a large snow elf. Jane’s eyes were red as Malekith held Frigga by her throat, and drove a sword into her abdomen. Everything went black when one of them slammed their sword into the back of Rose’s head and she crumpled to the floor. Thor lifted Rose to his arms and carried her to the infirmary where she stayed for 3 days. Loki couldn’t sleep, or eat, or drink. He sat with his head in his hands and his palms shaking. He can still those cursed words, words informing him that not only had his mother been murdered but the woman he lov- cared deeply for, was also in the infirmary. Loki continued to ask the guards how she is and if Rose is still alive, he hates that he can’t be there with her- that he has to go every agonizing second without knowing whether or not she’s okay.
On the 3rd day when Rose awoke, Thor had come to the conclusion that he was going to need Loki’s help. He had put together the whole plan and only needed to get Loki to agree. Helping Rose out of bed, Thor filled her in on what he needed to do. “I don’t know a way to get out of Asgard without attracting Odin’s attention, but Loki does. He has many secret passageways on and off the planet. I’ll need to break him out- which means you’ll need to come with us. Odin told Loki if he escapes you’ll be executed.” Thor explained and Rose’s throat closed. “You think he’d really do it?” Rose asked and Thor nodded, “if it meant putting Loki in his place, he’d do anything.” Going down the stairs into the dungeons, Rose’s heart broke when she saw that Loki was practically unaffected by the fact that she was in the infirmary. Does he not care about her? When Loki saw her however tears were in his eyes, “hello darling.” He said with a smile and before she could reply- Thor did. “Enough Illusions brother.” And an Illusion melted away revealing destroyed furniture, the books shredded apart and broken glass as well as blood coming from the bottom of Loki’s foot. His hair was disheveled, and his eyes were red and puffy.
After explaining what he needs to do Loki immediately refuses, “no, I can’t put Rose in danger.” Loki says, “she’s in danger if I go, she’ll be executed or worse slain by one of those damned elves.” Loki snapped and Rose crouched down to look at him. “Loki please, I’ll stay right by you the entire time I swear.” Rose begged and Loki looked over at her, already giving in. “Fine, but if anything happens to you-” “It won’t.” Rose smiled. Loki felt in his gut that this was a bad idea, but he couldn’t say no to her. He was still pulling away from her, a God and a Mortal were never meant to be. They were destined to be a tragedy right from the start and even in New York he knew getting close to her was dangerous but he just couldn’t stop himself.
***
Loki watched as the sword dug through his chest, but he felt no pain. It was better if Rose thought he was dead, he can’t love her. She’s mortal he can’t live without her- he just can’t. He can’t do that to her. Let her lose him instead of him losing her. Rose’s hands flew to her face as Loki collapsed back. The wound seeping with blood, “no, no I-” Rose stammered unable to speak. It felt as though her entire world was crumbling to pieces in front of her. “Loki please no,” Rose cried as he stuttered through breaths- this can’t be happening. His hand reached up and brushed along her cheek as his body turned a ashy blue and his eyes closed. A scream erupted from Rose’s lungs, ripping through the barren wasteland as tears ran down her cheeks. Heavy sobs overtook her as her head fell against his chest, her hands dug into her hair on either side of her head. Rose cried and screamed and held that little silver necklace in her hands, her face buried in his chest. Thor took a step towards her and placed a hand on her shoulder. “We can’t leave him here!” She cried as Thor helped her up. “We have no choice,” Thor said, tears in his eyes as he looked back at his little brother.
Everything went by in a blur, she couldn’t bring herself to care about anything or anyone and all the weeks later that she finally made her way back home and knocked on the door Tony yanked that door open and engulfed her in a tight hug. “Jesus Christ never disappear on me ever again. ‘Hey Tony going to Asgard home soon’? How is that supposed to ease my conscious?” Tony said, half joking, half scolding. When she doesn’t respond Tony pulls her back and looks at her, “what happened?” He asked- shutting the door behind her. “Loki- he...he’s dead.” Rose whispered, tears building in her eyes again. Tony’s face showed a mixture of emotions, but despite how he feels he pulls her in for a tight hug, knowing she loved him. She leaned against him, letting tears flow down her cheeks and her body shook with tears.
Years went by, and Rose began training with Doctor Strange, learning how to harness the mystical arts, anything to get her mind off of how much her heart ached. She hated being alive every second of everyday and every night was plagued with nightmares- memories of him. Everything just hurt so much- without him life itself was meaningless. She’d become quite talented at opening gates but that was about all she could do- Doctor Strange said her heart was too troubled for the more complicated magic. She didn’t want to fall asleep, knowing the dreams won’t stop- but her eyes slid shut as she gave in to sleep. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” He smiled, and she can feel it gauging her heart as he moved about the dream, looking at her and she feels like he’s looking right through her. It’s agonizing, she sees his smile, hears his chuckle and his voice. “I’m exactly where I want to be,” Loki smiles, and Rose can see his eyes soften when he looks at her. She sees his shoulders relax- she notices things she missed the first time she met him. She took times like that for granted, not knowing he would be taken from her so soon. It’s not fair. Tears slide down her cheeks as the image of him swirls and disappears and then she’s standing in that room filled with moonlight. The light illuminating his face, and his crystal blue eyes. She watches as he hovers above her as he did that night and she closes her eyes- willing the memory away. When she opens her eyes, there’s his body. Cold and abandoned in the dusty planet she left it on, she screams and cries- collapsing to her knees. Every night it’s this, going through memories before this one appears before her and she loses herself all over again.
Rose sits up in bed, sweat dripping down her forehead and tears still wet on her cheeks. Her chest is heaving as sobs force through her body- she can’t live like this anymore. She wipes away the tears and takes a shower, throwing on some clothes before heading to see Doctor Strange. He doesn’t mentor her in magic much anymore- but he still teaches her things about incantations. She goes over there now mostly because he’s her friend, and he takes her mind off Loki. Learning things from him gives her life purpose again. Stepping into the living room she opens a gate to his door and steps through in front of his door, closing the gate behind her. She turns and knocks on the door and Doctor Strange opens the door and smiles. “Sleep well?” He asks- knowing full well she didn’t. She glared at him before taking off her jacket, “for that you can hang up my jacket, no cheating.” Rose said, raising a brow. Steven smiled taking her jacket and hanging it on the hook. Rose laughed at his annoyed expression before hitting the books. “What are we doing today?” She asked eagerly causing Steven to raise his brows at her, “eager are we? As it so happens- nothing. Care for some tea?” He asks and Rose rolls her eyes, “nothing? Again?” She complains.
“You don’t have to come over Ms. Stark,” Steven smiles, knowing she’s going to argue with him. She’s ornery, a real spitfire sometimes. “I come over because I want to, don’t give me that crap!” She snaps, her expression turning annoyed. Steven chuckled as they drank tea and read books, this is what they do mostly. At first she was going through lessons every day but not so much anymore- now they act like a married couple that’s been together for 80 years. They sit, drink tea, and read. But just being near Steven helps take her mind off Loki. A loud pounding on the door interrupts them, “Rose won’t you go get that for me?” Steven asks and Rose nods, standing and making her way to the door. Swinging it open she sees Thor. “Thor?” She asks, her smile widening- he engulfs her in a tight hug and spins her around. “What are you doing here?” He asks and Rose smiles as Steven comes into view. “I’m a friend of Doctor Strange.” She answers and Thor looks confused, “who?” “Uh, oh!” She exclaims seeing Steven behind her, “uh Thor this is Doctor Steven Strange, Steven this is Thor.” She introduced the two men as they smiled and greeted each other politely. Steven leaned in close to Rose, “go read that letter from Odin once more, I seem to have forgotten where he’s off to.” Steven lied, and Rose nodded.
In all honesty, he wanted a chance to get Thor and Loki out of here before she got back, he didn’t want her knowing Loki was alive- knowing she’d run off again and get herself killed. Plus Tony Stark was adamant that Steven keep her safe at all costs. But she returned just as Thor said “I guess I’ll be needing my brother back.” Her eyes widened and her mouth fell open as Steven opened the portal and from it dropped Loki. “What?” Rose stammered, causing all eyes to turn to look at her. She made her way down the stairs towards Loki, “how- you...you died.” Rose said with tears in her eyes, “He faked his death Rose.” Thor explained before Loki could say anything. “Darling-” Loki started before she slapped him, tears streaming down her face. Rose turned and yanked the portal towards them- sending them all through it and to Norway. “Darling-” Loki started but Rose ignored him, turning and walking towards Odin with Thor. She couldn’t bare to look at him much less speak to him, how could he do that to her?
***
The next time Rose found the strength to look him was at Sakaar when the GrandMaster had led them to their own room. “Darling, can you please look at me?” Loki begged, but Rose just felt so torn up she couldn’t barely speak without being choked by tears. “You- you faked your own death, do you have any idea what that did to me?” Rose spoke, her voice low and tears threatening to spill over. “Am I a game to you Loki? Am I a goddamn game? You think it’s fun to play with my emotions?” Rose cried, turning to look at him- a dangerously angry look in her eyes. “No darling of course not, I was going to tell you when the time was right-” He started but Rose laughed bitterly. “Seriously? You shouldn’t have done it at all! Why- why on Earth would you torment the people you love like that? You destroyed us, me and Thor.” Rose cried and Loki for the first time actually thought she might leave him because of this.
“I didn’t tell you because I can’t let myself care about you Rose, you will die and I’ll have to go on living without you!” Loki yelled, tears stinging his eyes. “That’s what you put me through! The dreams I had every single night was that you?” Rose asked, praying he would say no, praying he didn’t give her those dreams. “I thought they would help you heal-” He started but was cut off by Rose turning away from him- digging her fingers into her hair. This isn’t happening he didn’t actually do this her. This is another nightmare, just another nightmare. “You tormented me for years Loki! I wanted to die, I couldn’t live without you, I was in agony every single day just wishing a truck would hit and kill me!” Rose yelled, looking back at him. “I’m sorry Rose I really am,” Loki said but Rose couldn’t take it anymore. “Loki if you don’t say something better than ‘I’m sorry’ then I am going to walk out that door and you’ll never see me again.” Rose snaps, her voice weak from tears.
Loki looks almost panicked, he stays silent as Rose brushes past him with tears in her eyes and at the last minute he turns and grabs her arm, “Darling please wait. I say I’m sorry because that’s all I have. I don’t have anything better, I’m sorry I was a coward and ran away from how I feel, I’m sorry I hurt you. I’ve done a lot of horrible things to a lot of innocent people, and I’ve never known guilt until I met you. You’ve awakened a side of me I was worried died a long time ago, Rose you are my strength and my weakness. You make me feel alive, and hollow. You are something I’ve never known in my entire life so I’m sorry. I’m sorry I hurt you and I’m sorry I was selfish. When I say ‘I’m sorry’ its the most sincere thing I can and will ever say.” Loki says, near begging and Rose’s eyes widen. She takes a step towards him, pressing her lips to his and just holding him- letting herself celebrate the fact that he’s alive. “I’m still upset, I don’t know if that’s something I’ll ever be able to forgive but I...” She closes her eyes, steeling her nerves as she looks at him again, “I love you. And I don’t want to lose you again.” Loki smiles and wraps his arms around her, “I love you darling, and admitting it has been the scariest thing I’ve ever done.”
***
Rose watches with tears in her eyes as Thanos approaches her, Loki standing and watching him press a stone to Rose’s head. Rose starts screaming, the pain like fire through her skull, “alright enough!” Loki yells, tears in his eyes and a defeated and empty look on his face. Thanos turns to Loki and takes the Space Stone from the Tesseract. Loki looks back at Rose, smiling sadly knowing one of them isn’t going to make it out of this alive. Loki smiles and fake offers Thanos a chance to let him be his guide on Earth, but when the opportunity presents itself he whips out a knife and attempts to stab Thanos, Thanos freezes him and lifts him by the throat. Rose watches with wide eyes, tears down her cheeks as she knows this is real. This isn’t an illusion, that’s really Loki. With a squeeze his neck breaks, and his body is tossed in front of her and Thor, this isn’t real. Tears stream down her face as everything feels empty, she can’t of lost him again, she can’t go through that again. He sacrificed his life so that her and Thor may be spared.
This can’t be happening.
***
“Tony, don’t!” Rose screams as she watches him snap his fingers, and she sees the power scorch half his body and tears stream down her face. Rose stands and sprint towards him, seeing Aliens turning to dust around her, including Thanos. She kneels in front of Tony, “what did you do?” She cries, “I lost Loki I can’t lose you too.” She sobs as Rose helps him stand and move him. Pepper helps her set him down as the rest surround them. “Tony, please we’ll get you help we’ll-” But he cuts Rose off, “I’m proud of you tot. Love you kiddo,” He breathes, growing weaker. Everyone else’s words are nothing as she hears only blood rushing in her ears and her own rapid heartbeat, when his eyes close another scream erupts from her lungs. Sobs over take her as she completely loses herself.
Mom.
Dad.
Loki.
Tony.
She has absolutely nothing left, no one left. Besides Morgan, that’s all she has. Rose’s body shakes as she cries, her face on Tony’s shoulder. Her body may be working, and her heart pumping but she’s dead. Thanos took everything from her, everything. Rose digs her hands into her hair, and screams.

Can you give us your detailed thoughts on Avengers: Endgame?
SPOILERY THOUGHTS ARE COMING.
The basis of most of my gripes are: if Age of Ultron hadn’t been so shittily written, a lot of this could have been avoided. Not all of it, but a lot of it. But I’ll go line item by line item outside of that thought.
First off, Steve. Y'all already know I’m a Stucky shipper, but even outside of the context of the ship - and I fully support people who feel their relationship is platonic but very intimate as long as they have been supportive of how emotional their story is, let’s do that more with male friendships please - you have to admit that there has been no greater, longer standing or fucking emotional relationship arc through the entire goddamn MCU than Steve and Bucky. Platonic, nonplatonic, whatever. We literally watch Steve tear down a branch of the goddamn government to get Bucky back, and since the first movie, Bucky has been his emotional touchstone. Steve’s singular dedication to rescuing and protecting Bucky has driven him to the heights of recklessness and has made him nearly sacrifice himself a dozen times.
But he ditches out on him, after he’s been dead for five years no less, to go back to the fucking fifties and derail Peggy’s entire well-lived life.
I don’t buy it. I think this was purposeful diversion to avoid appearing “too gay”, and it fucking infuriates me. There is an article on The Daily Dot that explores this better than I even thought to and you should definitely read it.
The idea of Steve getting to live a full life and be happy? Wonderful. But the way this was executed felt cold, clinical. We’ve spent more time developing emotional bonds with Steve than any other character in the MCU except maybe Tony, and yet we the audience were completely shut out of his feelings for the entire last half of the very last film. It felt like a door had been closed on us. There was none of the warmth of Steve, only the resolve of Captain America, and a very rash decision that felt so poorly planned after he said barely two things to the man who has been the axis of most of his decisions in this entire series.
Sam is absolutely the right choice for Captain America, though. That was what I was hoping for, and he deserves the mantel.
Tony Stark, love of my life, was set up to make the martyr play from the very first Avengers film. This is where it was always meant to go, and I have spent every movie since AoU waiting for it to happen. Honestly, I feel like Tony’s arc was the one arena where everything was done right (except, I’ll be honest, I don’t know how I feel about him having had a kid - I’m not mad at it, though). If you follow me you know I don’t think he and Pepper had real staying power no matter how much they love each other, but I also never anticipated that he’d be with anyone else, so this wasn’t a disappointment (I love Pepper, to be clear). I was proud of him. I was sorry he wouldn’t get to see Morgan grow up, but I was proud of my man saving the world.
I love him with all my heart. He’s made dumb decisions but when the metaphorical knife was against his throat, he came correct with absolute resolution.
Wanda might as well have been a cardboard cutout, which on one hand was fine because she had way more screen time in Infinity War than she’s had anywhere else since AoU (shudder), but she’s been reduced to this background character who got shipped off with Vision just so she’d have something to do (and yes, I know it’s comic canon, but it was so out of left field in the MCU that there was no way this wasn’t a factor in). Wanda is a wealth of possibility for a storyteller - think about the grief this character has endured (consider my consider, Wanda Maximoff diatribe from yesterday) and how she’s learned to use her power. Think about the evolution of going from a volunteer for a program to literally become a mutant to fight the Avengers and then becoming one and losing your fucking twin brother, the only constant in your life. Think about having to kill the only person you could try to put a life together with. Think about all of that and tell me she hasn’t been wasted in the background.
(Also - how in the fuck is Steve gonna tell his black best friend Sam that he preferred the fifties? Really? )
This brings me to what I think is easily the most egregious of all the fuck-ups in this movie - Clint and Natasha. This is where we can draw a direct line back to the problem in AoU, when Joss “Feminist Icon” Whedon decided that dropping a house, wife and 2.5 cardboard-ass kids we got zero development time on was a better answer than, oh, actually developing Clint as a character. Partially this was to promote Brucetasha, which as we all know went so fucking well through the rest of the movies, but subverting what he felt was the “obvious” ship for Nat (the irony of this being he said something along the lines of “well, Bruce and Nat made so much more sense to me” and pulled some lame ass Beauty and The Beast allegory out during an Entertainment Weekly interview about AoU and it’s ended up becoming one of the most hated creative decisions in the MCU as of yet.
Listen, if you want Clint and Natasha’s deep and intimate and formative relationship to be platonic-only, I’m cool with that. I ship ‘em but I also love male-female friendships that mean the entire world to the involved characters and are not romantic. But we were given a decision in AoU that was eliminated so many future possibilities and put us on the path we’re on now.
If you know Clint as a character, you know that he’s a loveable fuckup. THat’s kind of his schtick. I have no idea how they plan to make that work in the supposedly-happening Hawkeye series based on Matt Fraction’s run given that now we’ve got Clint married with kids and Natasha dead, but okay. Endgame takes Clint’s grief and weaponizes it, but naturally, we only ever see him killing people of color (they mention he killed a Mexican cartel, we see him going after Yakuza) ((if you couple this with the shaved haircut and the shitty Japanese-inspired sleeve, you start venturing dangerously close to white supremacist territory)).
Clint is dark and broken, and Natasha saves him - just like how Natasha was dark and broken, and Clint saved her. By not dying. So. I mean.
As I’ve said in another ask, here’s the thing: I would have been okay with Natasha making the sacrifice play if there had been no Bartons to bring back. I still would have been furious if they hadn’t loophole’d her ass back - What happens when Steve returns the soul stone? Do you get back what you paid for it? - but the idea that we had to trade the original female member of the team - the closest thing to diversity they had being a white woman is terrible but here we are - for one of the shittiest, most sloppily written things that Joss Whedon plunked down on a page? My blood boils.
It’s been like 4 days and I am still just beside myself angry about Natasha Romanoff. Furious. I love her and Clint and I don’t undersell the strength of their relationship but at the end of the day, she died so a man could go back to his family, because nuclear families are more important and Natasha has no one. I guess. I don’t know. I’m so fucking mad.
That pandering-ass “we’re doin’ us a feminism” scene of all the women fighting together, even though it made zero logistical battlefield sense and most of them didn’t even know each other, felt even more gross and cheesy and self-congratulatory considering what had just been done to one of the most important women in the series. But hey. We got a shot of a lot of women fighting. Hashtag feminism.
Thor’s ending was okay. Thor’s arc was pretty good. The fat jokes were shit but I loved the idea of Thor still being worthy even when he’s not who he used to be. I nearly came when Cap caught Mjolnir. Conceding New Asgard to Valkyrie was super smart, and I like that he’s going to go figure himself out with the Guardians.
Speaking of, Gamora’s whole story has made me feel gross. As the daughter of an abusive stepfather who also loved me a lot when he wasn’t being a monster, it def made me squirm. But the reality is I don’t give enough of a shit about any of the Guardians to care about what happens to them other than Thor, so. Chris Pratt can eat my entire ass.
The things it got right - pacing an insane amount of action in a way that never stalled, executing a beautifully woven and inlaid sacrifice arc for Tony, Paul Rudd in general - are so much smaller than the things that were just… gapingly terrible.
Did Bruce even get an ending? Did anyone remember what the hell he said he was gonna do? He got lost somewhere in the shuffle and I legit have no idea what his ending was.
Ugh. I need some ibuprofen and a nap. I’m gonna go back to writing my Natasha sex-shop au in which SHE WILL NEVER EVER EVER DIE FOR CLINT’S STORY DEVELOPMENT and wish I still drank.

Undo 6 - MCU x DCAU - Ending 2 P2 - Non-Canon Compliant
It has been years since the heroes and villains teamed up against Darkseid when people around the world randomly turned to dust, including Billy Batson’s twin sister and best friend. He’s summoned by the Wizard Shazam to undo this phenomenon.
AO3 I FFN
------
Everyone who had seen what had happened were in various state of shock.
The kid who could turn into an adult, turning into dust just moments after Thanos and his army did.
“Spider-Man, create a stretcher using your webs.” Doctor Strange ordered as soon as he recomposed himself.
Peter nodded as he worked on his task. He used two large slabs of rocks as foundation for the makeshift stretcher.
Once Peter was done, Pepper and Rhodey worked on loading the unconscious Stark up on the stretcher made of web fluids. They began to carry the stretcher when Doctor Strange’s cape attached itself under the makeshift stretcher and carried Ironman’s unconscious form.
Despite the sentient cape’s delicateness, Tony Stark’s wife and best friend refused to let go of him.
“King T’challa, can we use the facilities in Wakanda to treat Tony?” Professor Hulk asked for permission.
“Right this way” The Wakandan King nodded as he led the way towards the portal.
------
“What in the seven realms just happened?!” Valkyrie exclaimed.
“We won.” Carol answered bluntly. “With a single casualty.” She shrugged. “Considering the circumstances, I’d say we got off scot-free.”
“That casualty was a freaking kid!” Hawkeye yelled. “I don’t know who you’re supposed to be lady but we don’t just go willy nilly about casualties.”
“Barton, stand down.” Captain America ordered. “Let’s let everyone process what happened.” He continued.
“You don’t understand cap.” Clint replied. “Any good father, good parent would be understandably pissed and this lady just shrugs it off.” He yelled as he gestured towards Carol.
“Danvers hasn’t been with us for a very long time.” Captain America came to her defense. “I don’t exactly approve of her words but she just said how things were.”
“It’s okay Rogers.” Carol stated before turning her attention at Barton. “You don’t seem to understand that we were at war.” She looked into the archer’s eyes. “Casualties are inevitable, we should be thankful that the only casualty we have was the kid.”
“I would have to disagree.” Okoye interrupted the conversation as she got inside the lounge area. “Wakandan soldiers and the Sanctum’s sorcerers are dying as we speak.” She informed the group. “I would hope that you cease your squabbling right this moment and let the injured rest.”
After saying her piece, the Wakandan general left the group to their own devices.
“Danvers is right Clint.” Rogers sighed. “We were at war and casualties cannot be avoided.”
“It’s not about why there was a casualty cap.” Clint sighed. “It’s the fact that this lady, who came out of nowhere, simply shrugs off a young casualty like some molded bread.”
“I think everyone has yet to process what’s happened.” Sam offered. “I’m still wrapping my head around the fact head that we were dead for five years.” He admitted. “Then some new guy showed up with powers like Thor’s and then that new guy was just a kid then when Stark ensured us our victory, that same kid just crumbled away.”
“I know Sam.” Captain America nodded.
“I think we shouldn’t tell Stark about this.” Sam told everyone in the room. “After much thinking since the Civil War.” He began. “Stark was ridden with self-guilt when he urged us to sign the accords.” He added. “I once heard Wanda and Vision talk about the casualties in Sokovia and how one mother blamed Tony, not the Avengers as a group just him, for the deaths in Sokovia.”
“Didn’t he though?” Wanda asked.
“We all share the blame Wanda.” Sam answered. “People only cared to blame Tony about it.” He added. “I think this casualty would finally break the camel’s back.”
------
“Mrs. Stark.” Doctor Strange got out of Tony’s Intensive Care Room. “I’ve got some good news and bad news.”
“Let’s hear it.” Pepper nodded.
“The Good news is that with the assistance of Professor Hulk and Princess Shuri, we were able to dislodge the infinity stones from Tony Stark’s hand.” Doctor Strange reported. “He’s also stable after a successful operation.”
Pepper just nodded anticipating what the bad news could be.
“However, he’d still need some rehabilitation time to fully regain his movement.” Doctor Strange continued to report. “Due to the damage his nerves had acquired when he wielded the infinity stones.”
“But he’s going to live right?” Rhodey asked as he stood beside his best friend’s wife.
“Yes.” Doctor Strange nodded.
“So doc, as I understood you’re the big magic hotshot, Tony’s words, in the world.” Pepper started. “Can you tell us what happened?”
“Let me be frank with the both of you.” Doctor Strange replied. “The victory I foresaw came with Tony Stark’s demise.” He admitted. “It was through Tony Stark’s sacrifice that we won against Thanos and his army.”
Rhodey simply engulfed Pepper with his arm and held her tightly as the both of the processed the sorcerer’s revelation.
“There’s only one possible explanation for what happened after the battle” The doctor continued. “The lightning based hero cast a spell and took Stark’s place as the sacrifice.”
Both Pepper’s and Rhodey’s eyes widened at the revelation.
“Thank You Doctor Strange.” Pepper expressed her gratitude after she recomposed herself. “Are visitors allowed with Tony now?” She asked.
“Yes, Peter’s already in there.” Strange nodded.
------
It took a few more weeks for Tony to be able to gain consciousness and one more for him to be coherent enough to be able to communicate with his visitors.
There were questions that Tony asked as soon as he was able to communicate. One of which were about his daughter, Peter and Harley.
“Harley and Peter are both in school.” Pepper answered her husband’s query. “Morgan’s with Happy, sleeping at the lounge.” She added. “Rhodey’s been summoned to the UN to represent you and the other Avengers.” She continued.
After Pepper visited, the other Avengers visited him. Everyone from the other team in Civil War were inside.
“Any casualties?” Tony immediately asked them.
Everyone looked at each other at the sudden question.
“We have only one casualty.” Steve decided to answer the question.
“Anyone we know?” Came Tony’s next question.
“It was just one of those guys with orange rings.” Sam immediately answered.
“Does the Wizard know?”
They just nodded in response.
“I see.” Tony merely sighed. “Could you guys leave?” He asked. “I think I need to rest.”
“Rest well Tony.” Steve acknowledged as they filed out of the room one by one.
Tony wasn’t able to rest well as he kept on thinking on that one unfortunate soul that was the only casualty.
------
A few more weeks passed and Tony was finally in rehabilitation after weeks of bed confinement.
“Whatever happened to that kid?” Tony asked during one of his rehabilitation sessions. “The adult that turned into a kid when lightning hit him.” He elaborated.
“You mean to tell me they didn’t tell you?” Pepper questioned.
“Unbelievable.” Rhodey sighed.
“Tell me what?” Tony asked.
Rhodey and Pepper looked at each other. The both of them weren’t really sure how to break this information towards Tony. They both knew of Tony’s propensity to blame himself on things out of his control.
The both of them also knew how one measly lie lead to Civil War.
“Tony, we need you sitting down for this.” Pepper began.
“What?” Now Tony was really confused.
For all of Tony’s genius, he can’t get why the information he was about to hear needed him sitting. He can hear fine while standing, thank you very much.
“What you’re about to say, you can say it while I’m standing.”
Rhodey immediately went by his best friend’s side as he knows for sure what’s going to happen when his best friend hears the information.
“That kid you were asking about.” Pepper began. “He was the sole casualty during that fight against Thanos.”
The expected reaction from Tony came, he stumbled down midstep as he heard the information everyone was reluctant to share. Thankfully, Rhodey was there and was able to catch Tony in time before he hit the ground.
“I-I see.” Tony managed to stutter.
------
After regaining his mobility and finishing his rehabilitation, Tony immediately set to work on the construction of a monument to honor the only casualty in this whole mess. After his offer to resurrect the child was rebuffed by everyone, including the ex-vengers, Parker’s words, and forced him to compromise.
Tony supposes he can’t blame them, especially his wife, best friend, body guard and pseudo-sons. As he would do anything and everything for them, so would they if given the chance.
The design of the monument was according to how everyone remembered the emblem on the hero’s chest when he first appeared: a golden lightning bolt.
No one knew who the boy was, even having an adjusted BARF to give him how the boy looked and asked anyone and everyone about him. This was the only way he could atone for letting the boy die in his place.
The crew that Tony hired were just about to install the monument in front of Stark Industries when lightning struck and out came two figures, one male and one female.
“Lightning Lad.” One of the new arrivals commented. “Not bad.” He nodded. “I must admit, that did not cross my mind.”
“Oh hush you.” The woman chided. “We’re here for the heroes and explain things to them.” She reminded. “Not think up of hero names ala Nightwing.” She continued. “Besides that name’s already taken.
“Yeah by like thousands of years into the future.” The boy argued.
It just so happen that Tony Stark was supervising the installation of the monument when the two new people arrived via a lightning strike, donning the emblem of the hero, lightning lad, as the Princess of Wakanda had dubbed him.
The hero who died in his place.
The two new arrivals were Billy’s twin and best friend, in their champion forms.
“Are you here to deliver retribution, exact revenge, you know the usual?” Tony quipped as he approached the duo. “You know the normal, you killed my friend spiel?”
The new arrivals looked at each other laughed at his face. From all what they have experienced as heroes, this was the first time they had encountered something such as this.
“I’m Mary Marvel, and he’s Captain Marvel Jr.” Mary introduced herself and her companion. “I’m guessing the person who you’re honoring with this monument is my brother, Captain Marvel?” She asked.
“You know big guy, huge muscles, wears a red spandex and white cape with golden cuffs and boots?” Freddy described his best friend’s champion form.
“Stay away from Mr. Stark!” Spider-Man interrupted the conversation as he landed beside Tony.
“Stand down Underoos.” Tony ordered. “If they were here to kill me, they would’ve just directed the lightning at me.” He reasoned.
“That’s inaccurate.” Mary pointed out.
“But we’ll go with it.” Freddy shrugged.
“What do you want with Mr. Stark?” Spider-Man glared at the Marvels.
“Whoa, whoa kid, where’s the fire coming from?” Tony questioned. “They’re not a threat.”
“We didn’t come here to fight Spider-Man.” Mary assured the spider themed hero. “Rather we came here to inform.”
Spider-Man’s eyes widened. He never mentioned his name and Tony Stark did not mention it as well. There was no way that these people weren’t here to kill Mr. Stark.
“Name your price.” Tony declared.
Mary and Freddy looked at each other.
“Mary said inform Mr. Stark.” Freddy pointed out. “We’re not here to exact vengeance or even ask for compensation.” He added. “We just want to inform, that’s all.”
“Inform Mr. Stark of what exactly.” Spider-Man asked with hostility in his voice.
“Spider-Man, I’m not in distress okay?” Tony reassured the costumed hero. “I’m injured but not in distress.” He pointed out as he gestured towards his still healing hand.
“Mr. Stark they arrived via lightning!” Spider-Man reasoned out. “The ex-vengers and the Avengers all knew that someone was going to ask retribution because of Lightning Lad’s death.” He rambled as he placed himself in front of his mentor. “War Machine and Hawkeye are already en-route from the UN.”
“Looks like we’re in trouble Mary.” Freddy stated nonchalantly. “Now I know how Osiris felt.”
“Like you’re any help Junior.” Mary rolled her eyes at her companion’s words. “If everyone would just let us finish?” She exclaimed as she turned her attention towards Stark and Spider-Man. “This hostile welcome isn’t really all that necessary.”
Before Mary could even utter out another word, War Machine descended in front of Spider-Man while Hawkeve landed a few paces away from the group.
“Seriously?!” Mary yelled in exasperation.
“What’s the situation Spider-Man?” War Machine questioned.
“Nothing happened yet.” Spider-Man answered. “They have yet to make a move.”
“Really?!” Tony exclaimed. “I appreciate the sentiment and all.” He continued. “Isn’t this a bit excessive Platypus?”
“Says the guy who programmed a training wheels protocol.” War Machine bit back. “Seriously Tony, let us handle this.”
“I think the fact that we’re still in our champion forms might be giving them the wrong idea.” Freddy pointed out. “We do crackle with electricity from time to time.” He added. “I think we should transform back to our mortal forms.” He offered.
“Is it safe though?” Mary questioned, warily glancing at the heroes converging around Stark.
“Remember what Zatanna said.” Freddy replied. “Billy transformed back when that Thanos person did what Superman had done to him five years ago.” He continued. “It should be safe.”
As the group trained their eyes on the odd group as they conversed, Spider-Man’s eyes widened as he suddenly sensed something was amiss. He looked around and saw nothing out of the ordinary was happening, the workers were safely evacuated when War Machine and Hawkeye arrived.
However he then noticed that the clouds begun to darken and had converge in their general location.
“FRIDAY Activate Rust Proof Protocol”
“Kid what the hell!” Tony managed to exclaim.
“As you wish Spider-Man.” FRIDAY replied
A few of the previous Iron Man suits descended from above and began to conjure blue translucent shield in front of War Machine and the rest.
“Shazam!”
“Captain Marvel!”
Lightning struck both Marvels. Instead of disappearing or anyone new coming in, the both of them transformed back into their mortal forms.
Mary was simply wearing a white blouse inside an open blue cardigan paired with blue jeans and cute blue sandals.
Freddy simply wore a red long-sleeved shirt paired with black jeans and green sneakers while standing on his good foot and holding unto his silver crutches.
“They just changed clothes.” Rhodey commented as his jaw dropped. “All that and they just changed clothes.”
“We’ve put ourselves in a vulnerable state.” Mary informed the heroes behind the translucent shield. “Maybe you could drop your weapons now?” She asked.
“They are not crackling with electricity.” War Machine pointed out as he removed his helmet. “FRIDAY?” He asked the building’s AI.
“You are correct Col. Rhodes.” FRIDAY replied. “Both children are not showing signs of electrical surges in their personal spaces.” She continued. “The boy himself is disabled from the waist down and needs the aid of his crutches to get around.”
“That is both creepy and awesome.” Freddy commented.
“Barton, stand down.” Rhodey commanded. “Yes I’m sure, no one was harmed in the lightning strike.” He reassured someone on the line.
“FRIDAY be a dear and get these suits back from where they came from?” Tony announced.
“Of course Boss.” FRIDAY replied as the Iron Man suits began flying back from where they came from.
“Can I get you both inside?” Tony asked as he turned towards his visitors. “Sorry for the hostile welcome, I can’t exactly control these mama bears.” He quipped as he gestured towards the heroes behind him.
“Oh no, the hostile welcome was expected.” Freddy shrugged. “It’s the fact that everyone seemed too keen on interrupting us when we were about to say something important.” He admitted.
Mary cleared her throat as she glared at her companion.
“Sorry.”
“I was about to tell you Tony Stark.” Mary began. “The person you dubbed as Lightning Lad, my twin brother, is in fact not dead.” She revealed.
“He, he’s not dead?” Rhodey’s eyes narrowed.
“Don’t get us wrong, we’re not here for compensation either.” Freddy interjected. “We’re just here to inform, that’s all.”
“If he’s not dead, why can’t he tell us that himself?” Spider-Man questioned.
“Well he’s currently in a coma.” Freddy replied.
“Freddy!” Mary hissed. “They did not need to know that.”
“Umm excuse me, I think I needed to know that Lightning Lad is in a coma.” Tony interjected.
“Look, we’re just here to inform and nothing else.” Freddy responded. “A psychiatrist told us that we should inform you, Tony Stark, that my best friend is alive because you might blame yourself for the self-sacrificing shit he does.”
“Don’t get me started on the bullets he took meant for someone else.” Mary groaned. “And that someone else was bulletproof.”
“You’re not wrong about that.” Rhodes replied. “The monument was built to honor Lightning Lad.” He added. “He started this to atone for what happened.”
“I see.” Mary looked down in contemplation. “What are we going to do Freddy?” She questioned her companion.
“I think we should leave this be.” Freddy shrugged. “It’d be a shame to scrap this after all the work that was put into this.” He gestured at the unfinished monument.
“But he’s not dead.” Mary argued.
“Won’t really a change a thing Mayr.” Freddy pointed out. “As far as I know, no one has been able to identify Billy.” He continued. “Considering how advanced the AI is, I have no doubt that they tried using a facial recognition program to try and find someone who knew him.”
Tony and Rhodes were impressed at the boy’s deduction from the little information he had.
“In any case, we really just came here to inform Tony Stark and alleviate his feelings of guilt.” Mary shared. “You can go on with the monument’s installation.” She continued. “Freddy and I are in agreement that nothing would change if you knew he’s alive or not.”
“You said he was in a coma.” Spider-Man voiced out.
“Don’t worry about that.” Freddy dismissed the concern. “Billy needs to heal from the stunt he pulled.” He shared. “Let us worry about him and you worry about how you guys rebuild from the miracle you just pulled.”
Freddy and Mary gave the group a parting smile before they turned their backs on them.
“Wait.”
The Marvels took a deep breath and were about to shout the words they yelled earlier when Peter stopped them.
“If that’s the case, could you give him our thanks?” Peter voiced out. “Because of him, we did not suffer any casualties.” He continued. “For the longest time, some of us felt guilty that a child was lost in battle.” He continued. “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.” He rambled his gratitude and bowed in appreciation.
“Dude that was so cheesy!” Freddy snickered. “Gotta say tho, the bowing’s a bit over the top.” He continued. “We’re not gods or anything.” He shrugged.
“Freddy! That’s not nice!” Mary chided her companion. “But Freddy’s right.” She confirmed his statement. “We are not gods that deserve that kind of treatment. “Besides I’m sure he knows how thankful you are with the miracle he helped you guys attained.” She added.
“By the way, his hero name is Captain Marvel.” Freddy grinned.
Lightning struck him as he disappeared from everyone’s view.
“That guy.” Mary shook her head in exasperation. “In any case, it was nice meeting the people my brother helped.” She smiled at them.
Mary looked at the group and gave them one final wave before yelling.
“Shazam!”
She too was struck by lightning and disappeared promptly.
“Rhodes, do you read me!” War Machine’s communicator blared. “There were two more lightning strikes and the targets disappeared.” Hawkeye informed through the communicator. “Is everyone alright?” He questioned.
“Y-yeah.” Rhodey managed to stutter. “Yeah no one was harmed.” He relayed. “You can remove yourself from your position.”
“Roger that.”
“That happened.” Tony commented. “Would’ve liked if they did not singed the grass when they arrived and when they left.” He continued as he gestured towards the burnt marks on his pavement and grass where the Marvels stood.
“At least they only left singes.” Rhodey offered. “Thor’s method of transportation left a miniature crop circles on the grasses and that caused a lot of conspiracy theories.”
“I’ve read a lot of those.” Spider-Man chimed in. “Some say that Thor was a part of an alien species that kidnapped humans.” He continued as the mask retracted and revealed the boy under it.
“Pete.” Tony called his mentee’s attention. “Pete.” He repeated.
“Yes Mr. Stark?” Pete cut his story short.
“You’re rambling.” Tony informed Spider-Man.
“O-oh.” Pete replied as he blushed. “Sorry Mr. Stark.”
“What happened here?!” Pepper’s voice rang as she stepped outside the building. “I was just in a meeting for a few minutes and suddenly the Rust Proof protocol was activated, windows were smashed and a lot of the workers are cooped up inside.” She ranted. “Rhodey?”
“I’m hurt.” Tony immediately jabbed. “I’m your husband and you ask for my best friend’s opinion?” He sniffled in a playful manner. “I am absolutely devastated.”
“Oh please.” Pepper rolled her eyes at her husband’s antics. “You’ll recover.” She shrugged. “Rhodey?”
“It was just a case of miscommunication.” Col. Rhodes admitted. “Some people who had the same powerset as Lightning Lad arrived.” He started. “We immediately assumed, as what the Avengers had agreed on, that they were here for retribution.”
“What did they want then?”
“They just wanted to inform us that Lightning Lad isn’t dead but in a coma.” Rhodey continued. “Although I don’t think they meant to share that last bit.”
“He’s alive?” Pepper asked. “That’s great!” She exclaimed. “Where is he?”
“Despite their chatty nature, they were able to keep mum about that.” Rhodey shared. “Although from their conversations I think they implied something.” He admitted.
“So you caught on that too eh Platypus?” Tony inserted himself back into the situation as soon as Spider-Man left to return to class. “Nothing concrete but their conversations seemed to imply that they don’t exactly operate in this reality.” He continued. “Or at least this planet.”
“I see.” Pepper nodded.
“What are your plans on the monument?” Rhodey asked his best friend. “They did say that Lightning Lad is still alive.” He continued. “And apparently he’s not Lightning Lad.”
“What do you mean?” Pepper asked.
“Before that boy disappeared he said that the hero’s name was actually Captain Marvel.” Rhodey informed his best friend’s wife.
“I won’t change it.” Tony answered. “They did approve of the name.” He reasoned. “They also gave the blessing to let us continue on installing the monument.” He added. “Besides Col. Danvers is this Earth’s Captain Marvel.” He finished.
“Fair point.” Rhodey admitted.
“FRIDAY be a dear and get someone to send the construction people home.” Tony ordered his AI.
“No need FRI.” Pepper interjected. “I’ll handle that and more.”
“You’re the best Pep.” Tony praised.
“I know.”
“Get a room!” Rhodey playfully gagged.

PR Stunt Gone Wrong - Chapter 28
Pairing: Sebastian Stan x Reader
Summary: You are a fellow actress in the MCU, Bucky’s love interest. You met Seb during the CA: WS and you guys hit it off. Chemistry on and off the set, but never dated until after Infinity War. During filming of FATWS, the pandemic caused everything to shut down. Seb offered you to spend quarantine with him, but somewhere along the lines, things go wrong and Seb makes a PR decision.
A/N: I was going to to this in a Bucky story, but then I decided to keep it Seb. With everything going on with Seb over the last several months, I came up with this story in my head. Obviously a lot of this is made up, but it is using what we know Seb has been doing over the last several months.
Tumblr media
After Sebastian left, you spent a great deal of your time back on the beach, thinking. You were thankful that the area was quiet and empty and you could have time with your thoughts as you walked up and down the long beachfront with Tucker. You started thinking about everything, and got very overwhelmed. You decided to break everything down.
You started with Chase, since you both had a newer relationship, so not as much to think about. Chase was the one that was there for you when you fell apart. He came to your rescue like a knight in shining white armor. He held you when you cried, he told you all your feelings were valid, and he made you pick yourself up when you were down. He respected your ongoing feelings for Seb and never pressured you to move on.
When you both kissed the first time, you didn’t know what to think. Of course you liked it, but you immediately stopped it. You assumed it was because you weren’t over Seb. You convinced yourself that you didn’t have feelings for Chase. You tried to shut down anything that would have made you feel more for Chase, because he had become your best friend. You, eventually, let your walls down and allowed yourself to give in to temptation.
At first you didn’t regret it, because nothing changed between you. As time went on, however, you started to have some feelings, and knew he did also. When he left you to film, you missed him, a lot. But now that you think about it, you did pretty well on your own. You were calling him every day, only when you needed advice. Most of the time you were too busy with work, or talking about the trial to talk to him.
Going out to LA was amazing, and you are honestly happy you did it. Seeing him again, being with him, letting him in more, was perfect. You thought you were going to be out there for awhile, but you chose to leave. You wanted time to think. You were confused by your feelings for him, and for Sebastian.
Now Sebastian was a whole other matter. You have known him for so long, and have had so many ups and downs with him, you don’t know where to start. I guess the clue was when he didn’t choose you at first to be with. You were his fuck buddy, and nothing more. It took awhile for you both to get on the same page, and you decided to give him another chance. It was still rocky, but for the most part, you were happy.
You feel in love with him, hard. You started picturing a long life with him. Marriage, kids, growing old together, the works. You were too scared to tell him how you felt, thinking he would run away. Another clue, I guess. It took awhile, but he said it first. As mad as you were at him, your heart lit up like Christmas when you heard those words. When you finally said them back, you felt like the Earth shifted and everything was finally in their right place.
The pandemic brought a lot of struggle for you both, but you kept going, together. It wasn’t until he was given the ultimatum of doing this PR relationship, or your career was going to be ruined. You still wish that he would have spoken to you. That he would have told you what was going on, so you could fight it together. But, “to protect you” he left you. Leaving you broke you, and then find out that he was with another woman, who was younger, and thinner, prettier (in your head), broke you more.
Why would you believe that it wasn’t real? He didn’t answer your calls, texts, or any other communication. He only reached out after he saw you and Chase together, because he was jealous. Seeing him again for the first time, and seeing his sad eyes, all you wanted to do was run into his arms. You always wanted to protect him, just like he always wants to protect you. You can’t fault him for that, though you wish you could.
But he fucking slept with the bitch! That is something you are not sure you can forgive. You swore you would never sleep with him again, but obviously that didn’t work out. You want to know why! Why did he have to sleep with her? He even admitted that he liked it. That is a smack in the face like no other.
You will never forget that day in your trailer, when he told you what was going on. You finally told him how you felt. That you hated him, which a part of you really does. You hate that he took it upon himself to do this without talking to you. You hate that he broke your heart and acted like it wasn’t a big deal. You hated that he slept with her who knows how many times. Your emotions got the better of you and slept with him. You made sure that there was no emotions except anger in that moment.
Since then, he has been patient, and understanding, and kind. Almost like the old Seb that you fell in love with. He has let you be a part of everything with the case, and has been behind you with all decisions you have made. Even telling you if you chose Chase, he would support it. You feel tears in your eyes thinking about that.
Chase gave you up. Didn’t let you figure out your feelings. What if you want to be with him? Will be reject you? Is he with someone else now? Did he end it because he was jealous of the pictures with you and Sebastian? You’re glad you have this place to run away to, and still Sebastian found you. He came for you. To make sure you were ok, and safe, and that you knew you were not alone.
Today when you slept with Sebastian, you knew it wasn’t just sex for him. He was making love to you. He took his time and worshipped you; just like he used to. He made you feel loved and cherished, and you would lie if you said you didn’t enjoy every second of it. You know Seb loves you, even though he was shit at showing you before, he has shown it recently. But is it enough? Can you trust that he will continue down this path of being open, honest, and truthful with you?
When you called Chase, you thought you just needed closure, but after the conversation, you feel like you still need to consider your feelings for him. You have 2 men who you care for greatly. You have a broken heart that was caused by both of them, you need to protect. What is the right way?
You start heading off the beach toward the house. The sun has practically set and it was getting cold. You feel like you have made your decision, but you want to sleep on it and see if you still feel the same way in the morning. Then you need to get the courage to tell everyone involved.
No matter the outcome, you are doing this for you. You are making your own decisions now. You control your own destiny.

Avengers AU
I had a very specific vivid “cinematic” (according to @sui-me-away) dream about a wild course of events that would change the entire MCU, starting in Captain America: The Winter Soldier
and on request of my friend who I sent this to, I am posting it here:
SPOILERS for ENDGAME, INFINITY WAR, CIVIL WAR, and of course TWS
So... to start with, Steve and Sam are gay.  That opening scene with the “on your left” and talking about over there versus here?  That already is kinda gay.  Especially like... he already knows where Sam lives by the time he and Nat are running?  Gay.
Anyways, so my dream took it even FURTHER.  They still do the flirting with the On Your Left and talking about how the beds are too soft... and they also talk about how lonely it is at night without a bunch of your Friends to talk to and be close to and stuff.  Then Steve offers his Support... and this cute lil’ gold and red decoder ring with his address and phone number hidden in it in code, (and the camera really focuses on the ring at a certain angle where he is out of focus but his hand and the ring are in focus... more on that later)
And he’s like "I'm here for you, PTSD is some real shit and both me and my wife have it, we have both been through a lot." Because for SHIELD reasons that Fury won’t disclose, he has demanded that Natasha and Steve ‘get married’ but my gal is a bisexual mess with a huge crush on Maria Hill and Steve is a gay baby so it’s a nice best friend QPR WLW/MLM solidarity thing.  They’re like insanely loyal and love each other but all platonic.
And Sam's face is like really surprised and sad, and he’s like "Uh your wife?"
And Cap just gets all flustered and goes "Oh no no no, it's a mandated thing from shield, we aren't really married... I mean, we are, but we're not... in love. I'm gay."
And Sam just goes "haha yeah... wait what? Uh, yeah me too."
And they kinda just smile at each other before Nat shows up for Steve and then Sam says "Hey you know that decoder thing you do for Anxiety Safety? I do it too." and hands him a silver and blue ring with HIS number in it.
So most of the rest of Winter Soldier remains the same except that at the end, Natasha somehow dies saving Bucky... and nobody will believe Cap and Sam that it wasn’t Bucky who killed her unless they can prove it was someone else.  So it changed the whole course of Civil War because everyone on Tony's side is accusing Bucky but it really wasn’t him!  And that’s why Bucky is on the run!
Now Clint is the one who was on Tony's side but switched sides to protect Bucky from T’Challa... because at that point you find out that it wasn’t Bucky who was responsible for Natasha’s death, but someone deep in Hydra/SHIELD.
But when she died Cap got Very Depressed... Sam helps him with the guilt he has because she dies rescuing Bucky so Steve has SO Much Guilt...
But Cap and Sam knew where Bucky was the whole time and that’s what everyone is mad about because they’re like “He killed Natasha and you’re defending him???”
But near the end of Civil War you also find out that Natasha isnt actually dead because Nick Fury said “Nah bitch.”  (My dream was actually not specific about this part, but I imagine it’s similar to Fury’s death in TWS)
So civil war is about Natasha's death, T'Chaka's death, and the murder of Tony's parents. That's why Clint was on Tony's side. He love his Nat.
But they get it all solved with Zemo and with Nat’s death Not Being Bucky’s fault... but they still have a time with Bucky and Tony anyways because yeah he did still kill Howard and Maria Stark and Tony is LIVID
So that part essentially remains the same.
And then at the end of Civil War, after they escape the prison... Steve proposes to Sam with the red and gold decoder ring, with the same camera angle as before because Cinematic PARALLELS
He buys a real ring don’t worry but the decoder ring means more
So Bucky is happy and supportive and also maybe has a thing for Natasha but don’t ask him to admit that out loud because he will shoot your kneecaps (he won’t, Cap said no kneecap shooting, but he will seriously consider it)
Natasha does really think Maria Hill is hot but also she does like Bucky because she understands him (much like her with Bruce) and they do that “are they aren’t they” thing instead of her and Bruce...
Anyway yeah that's the first part...
So.  Onto Infinity War and Endgame.
Peter Parker was fighting Thanos on Titan with Natasha and Bucky and the Guardians but Tony was not there.
Natasha sent for help with a Redwing-like droid she had from Sam when Thanos threw a fuckin moon at Bucky... but nobody came in time
So when the Snap happened Tony knew where they were and immediately did everything within his power to get to Titan immediately and turns out he has a suit that can go to space and turns out he made TWO of them
So he and Pepper show up there in their Spaceman Iron Man Suits and they find the Guardians disappearing and Bucky is gone too and Natasha is hysterical
And Pepper goes to soothe Natasha who has never been to space before and just lost her Bucky and everything else as far as she knows...
“It’s all my fault, it’s all my fault Pepper, don’t touch me Pepper I don’t want to lose you too, quit telling me it’s not my fault, you don’t know that, it’s all my fault, I should have been more careful, we should have gotten the gauntlet off of him, it’s all my fault Pepper, he’s gone because of me, they’re all gone because of me, I’ll never see Bucky again and it’s all my fault, how do you KNOW it’s not my fault Pepper you weren’t even here--”
And Tony goes to Peter who tells him what happened, in a slow shaky voice... and he is shaking badly, and he’s getting really pale... and he’s like “Mr Stark I don’t feel so good...”
And you can tell he's fighting it off with all his strong boy Spidey powers... and then he falls into Tony and Tony lays the boy down and is trying to be Strong but also crying because that’s his boy!  He should have been here to save him!
And he’s like “Mr Stark I'm Scared I don’t wanna Go”
And he keeps getting paler and shaking more and more and his skin is starting to crack... and obviously fighting it is making him more in pain, so Tony through his hysterical tears is like "it's ok, Peter, you can rest now" (TO PARALLEL HIS OWN DEATH IN ENDGAME)
And then Peter visibly relaxes and closes his eyes and then dusts away...
So the only thing that really changes in endgame is that Steve is way more visibly upset about EVERYTHING because my boy has lost everybody... his Sam, his Bucky, and ergo his Natasha because girl is long gone mentally for a while
Even once she gets a bit more recovered Nat is vaguely hysterical the entire time because she lost her Bucky and she has so much guilt and PTSD from Titan but she gets better when they find Clint... and she still sacrifices herself.  Mostly in hopes to see Bucky again.
And Steve just fuckin loses it when Clint comes back without Natasha, he has now lost everybody, he fucking decks Clint in the face and he’s just absolutely pissed but everyone realizes it’s not personal so Clint isn’t mad but someone still needs to pull Cap off of him because dude WILL kill Clint by accident so Bruce pulls him off and then Clint (nursing his black eye) just... holds Steve while he cries, dude has also lost absolutely everything, he gets it.
Then when Bucky and Sam come back in the final battle Cap is all happy and shit
But after the battle he has the unfortunate task of telling Bucky that Natasha is gone and Bucky just breaks.  He’s broken.  He is Done with Life and Done with Everything.  But then Clint tells him the full story and he gets an idea.
So actually... Bucky... is the one that goes back in time.
He goes back with the soul stone last and meets the red skull and first things first fucking decks him in the face for WW2 and he’s like “I'm giving you back the stone give me back my Natasha”
It takes some arguing and a bit more punching but he does agree to it
And so they come back and he has Natasha and everything is solidly okay
Steve still wants to retire... but with Sam.  They both have been through enough and they just want to be happy together and start a family and whatever.
So he passes the reigns of being Captain America to Bucky.... And they go “Off The Grid” like Clint's family.  Someday they’ll start their own family but right now Uncle Sam and Uncle Steve have to help Pepper and Happy take care of Morgan with Tony gone.  (Yes he’s still gone, I’m sorry that’s what my brain said)
(I didn’t mention this before but Stan Lee made a cameo in my dream, he’s an onlooker when Steve proposes to Sam in the park where they first met and he says, “Back in my day, men weren’t allowed to do that.  I’m glad it’s changed.”  Anyway I think this dream is a message from the ghost of Stan Lee goodbye)

Wonder Woman in the MCU
In an effort to jump start my muse, I pulled out an old writing meme from the LJ days in which you take a playlist and write for as long as each song plays.  I was hoping to get something started on one of my OUaT fics so of course my brain said “Hey, you remember that time ages ago when some internet idiot asked who would win in a fight - Okoye or Wonder Woman - and you rolled your eyes because of course they wouldn’t fight each other they would meet and respect each other immensely and fight side by side and also they would be actually be a really badass ship and OMG wouldn’t Diana in Wakanda and the MCU be fricking amazing? Remember that?  You should totally let that idea take over your brain right now.”  And it did and here we are.  And it wouldn’t have seen the light of day except I was talking about it with @holdouttrout last night and now I’m thinking about it again also yes I saw the posters for Endgame and fuck them I am ignoring them Shuri is FINE so I’m posting it in the hope that it will either purge it from my head or help it become something more than random snippets.
So...have some Diana of Themyscira hanging out in Wakanda post-Infinity War.  Other than finishing the final sentence and correcting grammar/spelling issues, these were written entirely within the time the songs were playing (which are listed after each snippet.)
1.       “You are free.”
Okoye unlocked the door to his cell, her face impassive, her eyes fixed on the wall behind him.
W’Kabi stood, slowly making his way to the threshold.  He knew it was coming – after the culling, there were too few to defend Wakanda.  Queen Shuri had no choice but to trust his word that those of the border tribe that had been imprisoned for their treason would stand once more in protection of their country.
He knew she was coming.  She would allow no else to complete this task.  He half expected some sort of threat, a promise of retribution if he betrayed the Queen’s trust.  But there was nothing, nothing behind those hooded eyes.
 (Burden Down, Jennifer Hudson)
 2.       Diana stood to the side as the remaining Dora moved through the ritual moves that began all training.  The training was more for comfort than necessity at this point, a chance to strengthen and maintain the bond between the remaining warriors standing between Wakanda and the chaos that was the rest of the world.
Okoye was there as always, nudging elbows, praising those who corrected their stances without prompting.  Always standing.  Always leading.  Always the General.
Until the day ended.  Until she returned to her quarters.  Stripped herself of her armor and trudged quietly over to the bed.  The first days, she lay on her side with her arms wrapped tightly around herself, her body rigid until it finally succumbed to the exhaustion.  And even in her sleep, the lines on her face did not completely fade.
But as the days passed and the burdens grew, she found she could no longer maintain her shield in this private space.  This sanctuary that Diana tried so hard to make for her.   Now, she shed her armor completely and moved with surer if no less weary steps to where Diana lay waiting.  Draped herself across the other woman, her head resting on Diana’s breast, letting Diana stroke the lines and the stress and the grief away with gentle fingers and silent understanding.  Helping her find some measure of peace in the night so she could wake up in the morning and don her armor once more.
(Hold on, Sarah MacLachlan)
 3.       Diana spent her last day in Wakanda walking through the streets, absorbing as much as she could of its beauty and strength and love.  She wore the traditional robes that her status as daughter of the Queen of the Amazons had demanded and she had always shirked.  But here, in this place that was so different from Themyscira but not so different at all, she could finally admit who she was.  Diana, princess of Themyscira, warrior and leader. And she could finally accept her purpose.  Not to simply fight for justice, but to lead others to fight for it as well.
(Ol’ 55, Sarah MacLachlan)
4.       Through the haze that surrounded her constantly these days, she could hear the buzzing sounds of Nakia and Diana arguing.  It was the same argument every day – Nakia urging Diana to return to the outside world, to take her place on the world stage. And Diana insisting that she could not leave Wakanda.  Okoye was too busy leading the warriors in protecting their home.  M’Baku was working to integrate what was left of the Jabari people into the lives of what was left of the rest of Wakanda.  Not to mention keeping a watchful and distrusting eye on the newly freed members of the border tribe.  And Nakia was trying to negotiate a peace with the chaotic outside world.  Only Diana was left to protect her.
Protect the Queen.
The Queen.  Leader of Wakanda.  But not Black Panther.  No, there was no Black Panther now that her brother was gone.  Brother, please come back.  I can’t do this.  I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS.
But there was no one else.  Her brother gone, ashes on the wind.  Just like her mother.  Like so many of their people.  There was only her.  Shuri. The unwilling queen trying to keep her people safe.  Trying to salvage what was left of their way of life.  Without T’Challa.  Without mother and Baba and Ayo.  Without half her team.  Without half her people.
She was trying.  She was trying to do what was best, what was right.  And she knew Nakia was right.  The world needed Diana.  But Shuri needed her as well.  That constant reassuring strength at her back as she maneuvered her way through the ever-shifting landscape of this new world.  Rarely speaking, but always ready with a bracing hand or gentle embrace when it all became too much and the weight of duty and grief threatened to crush her.  Okoye was the Queen’s left hand. Nakia her right.  M’Baku her armor.  As such, they were often away, carrying out their duties.  But Diana was here.  Diana was her shield.
You cannot hide forever behind a shield, little sister.
You are Queen now, my daughter.  You cannot think of yourself.  You must think of your people.
They are all your people now Shuri.
The haze was lifting.  Or perhaps she was finally pushing it away.  Pushing away Shuri.  Embracing the Queen.
“Nakia is right, Diana.” Don’t slouch Shuri.  A queen must always stand tall and proud. She  straightened her spine, and if her hands clenched a bit too tightly to the arms of the her throne, no one was cruel enough to notice.  Her voice echoed in the vastness of the room. “Wakanda is strong.  We stand.  We will continue to stand.  But the rest of the world is falling into darkness and despair.  They need your light.”
Diana said nothing, just stood for long moments with her eyes fixed on the Queen and on Shuri underneath.  She was so like T’Challa that way, T’Challa. My brother, seeing all the parts of her whether she showed them or not. But Shuri did not flinch.  She was young.  She was scared.  But she was Queen of Wakanda.  She would not think of herself.  She would think of her people.
All her people.
Diana still did not speak.  But she finally moved, slipping first one then the other gauntlet from her wrists and passing them to Nakia before crossing her arms and lowering her head.
“It shall be as you wish, your Majesty.”
(I grieve, Peter Gabriel)
5.
The world was on fire.
Three and a half billion people gone, but three and a half billion remained. And they were lost and frightened and full of rage.
Thor was on fire.  As lost and afraid and angry as the rest of this world.  The rest of the universe.  A king without a kingdom.  A leader without a people.  A man without a purpose.
Oh, he had the Avengers.  But they were as fractured as the galaxy itself.  Full of grief and frustration, they spent more time arguing than planning. He rarely lasted more than an hour in their presence before he could take no more.  Eyes flashing, electric fire coursing through him and sparking around him, he would stalk through the halls of the palace and make his way outside, bringing lightning from the sky.
And this was where Diana found him.

MCU Rewatch: “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2″ (2017)
The best thing I can say without passing judgment is that the whole situation with Meredith Quill and Ego is really sad.
This film did so much for both Gamora and Nebula’s characters and their relationship. It actually did a lot more to set up for Infinity War at the time it came out than any other Phase 3 film before or after, even Thor: Ragnarok. And that in spite of the fact that James Gunn isn’t a huge fan of Thanos, so I’ve heard. Thanos is an influential character in the film without actually even being in it, just because of what he did to his adopted daughters and how they are dealing with it.
Mantis is the perfect addition to the Guardians of the Galaxy. Mantis is a precious cinnamon roll and must be protected at all costs.
Quill converted the other Guardians to music, I’m so proud.
But that’s probably because oldies music makes anything you do 1000% percent cooler including murder
A more accurate title for this film would be, “Journey to the Center of the Ego.”
Baby Groot may be cute but he is 50% more angst and murder than old Groot
Rocket and Yondu’s relationship in this film is so underrated. Rocket and Yondu GET EACH OTHER and it’s incredible to watch their scenes together. “I KNOW WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE YOU’RE ME.”
I know Rocket would want to kill me if I tried but I still want to hug Rocket.
Seriously, what is it with GOTG and “cute” characters that are actually sadists?
I think Peter Quill is still very much the 9-10 year old kid that Yondu abducted, just with more swearing and sex
“He may have been your father, but he weren’t your daddy” has to be one of the most profound things a character in the MCU has ever said.
One of the reasons that this isn’t one of my favorite Marvel films is because the swearing, crude humor, and sexual references are really intense throughout the whole film. I saw this film on opening night with my mother and I was so embarrassed for her. Gosh, the Guardians are probably 10x worse with it off-camera.
Another thing I realized tonight is that the climax/battle against Ego at the end is so much more intense than the same sequence in Vol. 1. Ego is a freaking scary dude. Like, his spaceship and display pods are really clean and creepy looking, his full powers are all kinds of intense. Not to mention the giant brain at the core--I am terrified of brains.
Basically, GOTG Vol. 2 is a horror movie masquerading as a space comedy
Dream Cosplay: painting myself metallic gold to be one of the Sovereign, if not Ayesha herself
Like, I want to BE Ayesha because she’s got a great wardrobe, ladies-in-waiting, and a carpet rolled out for her wherever she goes.
Did Groot every actually buckle up when Quill told him to?
Team Kraglin. Forever.
Another reason I dislike this film: intense depictions of murder. I’m willing to admit that the twats who mutinied against Yondu deserved it for throwing their opponents into space to die. But that doesn’t make me any less uncomfortable watching the arrow scene.
The entire mutiny arc is really upsetting to watch. They literally hazed baby Groot.
It’s funny, though, how in a movie littered with retro pop culture references the arrow’s trail kind of lights up like a neon sign
Yondu wasn’t really that great of a “dad” to Quill. He was abusive and cruel and made sure PQ got a good education in debauchery. But in giving his life for Peter, he took the chance to be the father figure that Peter deserved--the dad that anyone deserves. Yondu knew he had made a mistake--he knew he’d been immoral his whole life--but for this one thing, for this one person, he was determined to make things right
Bless Yondu for making Mary Poppins cool again.
My adopted brother recently reconnected with his birth parents. My family and I feel incredibly blessed that they both turned out to be good people. Believe me, I understand the tension of PQ finally meeting his biological father.
PQ has just basically had to put up with toxic people his entire life and it’s saddening to think about, but that’s why the Guardians are the best thing to ever happen to him
We don’t have as much detail about Nebula’s backstory as we do for Gamora’s. But I have the feeling she was also taken away from a murdered biological family. The line “I only wanted a sister” speaks volumes. Like Quill and Yondu, Nebula and Gamora were forced together into terrible circumstances, but they still bonded, and they bonded enough to want a relationship better than the one they had. Dysfunctional families are still family, and this theme carries over to the Guardians’ arc in Infinity War.
GOTG vol 2, highlights the importance of adoptive family, but it also emphasizes the fact that the family you don’t choose is still a part of you--and it doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
So in the audience with the Sovereign, Ayesha suggests to Quill that she would be interested in having sex with him and he responds that he would be more than happy to take her up on that. Then at the end, the leader of the Sovereign fighter fleet--Ayesha herself?--announces to the Guardians that they will be made an example of in order to make a point to the universe: “Don’t screw with the Sovereign”. If you take the term “screw” as a euphemism for intercourse, that line is a response to Ayesha and Quill’s “flirting”--he said he wanted to “screw” her but she’s telling him no (after she already said yes????)
So the fact that Yondu sold children to Ego is coming out JUST NOW? When did Sylvester Stallone find out about this?
Nebula needs to consider a career as a pirate/ravager. She’s so good at it.
There’s got to be a good story behind why Yondu decided to keep Quill. Maybe after he was abducted Peter ran and hid in a cubby somewhere on Yondu’s ship and that impressed him. Maybe that made Yondu realize that he couldn’t deliver a scared kid to a monster like Ego. Not this one. It needed to stop.
I like how Peter tries to be romantic with Gamora but she doesn’t get all his references.
One think I kind of dislike about Vol. 2 but not as much as some of my other points listed here is that PQ is kind of a damsel in distress. He falls for Ego’s trap hook, line, and sinker, and then he has to do the whole tentacle suspension.
One thing I noticed was that in the scene where Ego details the Expansion, Peter is standing in a patterned circular space in the middle of the main hall. In the storybook Dove Isabeau, the stepmother witch lures the heroine into her chamber and has her stand on a pentagram design in the center of the room, and with her in that position the witch casts her spell to turn Isabeau into a dragon. Interesting similarity.
“Hey, remember that Ayesha chick?” “Yeah--oh hell!”
Do all celestials want to destroy the universe and rebuild it in their image?
I get how Ego is a metaphor for colonialism, but there’s also the fact that he’s the toxic parent that tires to make their child be something they don’t want to be
Gosh, Ego’s Expansion gloop is horrifying. Especially on Earth. Is there a way to get rid of that stuff? Does it fade away or will it have to be removed? Like how are the stand-alone movie villains so scary and how is Thanos so bland in comparison?
Notice there was a shot or two of this happening on Xandar.
They gave us the whole scene with Rocket explaining the bomb to Groot and asking Quill for tape when there was an entire freaking battle going on outside like what? That was pretty clever.
That part where Groot got squeezed by Ego I was like “Noooo my son!”
Quill tapping into his celestial powers to fight Ego back as an equal was pretty impressive.
The scene with Rocket versus the Ravagers is a riot. Rocket is like a petty troll ninja--which is really a perfect description of a stereotypical sassy raccoon.
Also Nebula’s entrance in that scene is kind of hilarious.
“DING!”
Drax is a pretty sincere person, and he finds humor in everything. But he’s just off the wall sometimes. He’s dramatic. He hates music and dancing and if you’re paying attention when he tells the story of how he met his wife that’s actually just a thing they had in common, so Drax isn’t representative of his entire race.  Drax is...just Drax.
When we first see Mantis with Ego, we see she is scared. She knows what’s about to go down. But bless her heart she really makes the best of a new situation and befriends Drax--who is just as clueless as she is.
Ego admitting to PQ that he killed Meredith? Quill had the right reaction, man.
Ego even confesses that he was tempted to stay with Meredith, but he chose himself and his “mission” over her and their son. Really, he is the worst.
“If he ends up being evil, we’ll just kill him.” Easier said than done.
