well hello there

here is aphmau in my au/rewrite

i tried to draw her in as many of her iconic outfits as possible but good irene she has a lot [click for better quality]

so here are some changes and headcanons i have for aph in my au:

•she’s neurodivergent. not entirely sure what specifically, probably adhd. for sure dyslexic.

•she has sensory issues, which is why she’s usually in shorts. she feels like she can’t move properly in a dress for pants.

•so in my au she is irene just like regular canon. i gave her her markings but you might notice they’re different; here’s why: so in my au, scars and tattoos can both be used as runes to conduct magicks. scar runes amplify one’s existing magicks while tattoo runes bestow a certain magicks ability to a person (even if they already have one to begin with). though this practice is outdated and illegal in most parts of the world. because irene’s abilities existed prior to her become a divine warrior, she scarred herself to not only enhance said abilities but to also show her true dedication. nowadays no one, except maybe zoey, actually knows what they are or what they’re for exactly.

•when irene locked herself away, she tried to dress in a way she thought might help her blend in in whatever time she popped back out.

•she was wrong.

•phoenix drop gets really hot, especially in the summer, and it doesn’t snow there. aphmau uses it as an excuse to wear shorts all the time.

•when she first showed up she wasn’t as clueless as they made her seem in rebirth. she was just as aware as she was in the og beginning (except no she didn’t think she was playing minecraft) her reason for helping out the village was basically this: “oh look a village, cool i needed a place to stay. oh man these guys are in rough shape, they don’t have a lord?!? ah geez no one’s helping them, guess i gotta help them. oh shit they made me lord!” ok maybe not EXACTLY like that but yk

•she’s not a pick me in this universe :) and she doesn’t lead people on.

•when garroth first noticed how hard she was working on the village without even being asked, he bought her some gloves so she’d stop tearing up her hands. he bought some basic fingerless leather gloves but payed extra to have them dyed black and embroidered with lil purpley pink flowers. he hopes she’d like them and that his gesture wouldn’t come off as clunky or weird. she loved them and keeps them with her even when they’ve gotten too worn to wear.

•laurmau is endgame. aph and aaron never have any kind of romantic relationship. he’s more of a mentor to her. (i’m sorry garmau lovers i love y’all but laurance is my guy)

so that’s all folks, i’m sure i have more headcanons and changes for aphmau but none come to mind right now. feel free to leave suggestions tho :)

Hi there, anon, thank you for the request!

I don't have dyslexia, but I hope I managed to do all right with this. I did some research and tried to include different symptoms and strengths.

Please let me know if there's anything problematic about what I've written.

GN!MC has dyslexia and tells the brothers and dateables about it.

Warnings: MC has dyslexia. Mentions of negative self talk.

Lucifer

You have what? He's never heard of this. You have to explain to him what it means.

Ah, okay, will you be needing accommodations at RAD for this, MC? He wants you to be successful and he's ready to implement whatever will help you in this.

Wonders why you didn't tell him sooner. Seems genuinely confused by this. Explain you only tell people you trust. Now he's touched that you trust him enough to talk to him about it.

Supports you as much as possible, usually in a quiet subtle way. Occasionally reassures you that you're doing well. If you're the type that loses things, he gathers them for you as he finds them.

Mammon

Gets it right away. If our boy isn't neurodivergent in some way, it's gonna be a surprise to everyone. In that sense, he understands that you're different.

In fact, he may even figure it out before you tell him. But he'll wait for you to bring it up yourself. When you do, he's just like okay, no problem, MC. Doesn't make a big deal out of it. Doesn't treat you any differently.

Notices when you're struggling. If you also have dyscalculia or are otherwise having trouble with numbers, he can help with that. We all know he's good with numbers. Otherwise, he'll do whatever you ask if you need help.

Figures out your strengths, too. If you're good at reading people, he'll start to rely on you to tell whether or not he's being scammed. Runs all his ideas by you because you always have some interesting perspective he hadn't thought of.

Leviathan

Also understands as soon as you tell him. He knows what it's like to be a little different.

He's also good at helping you if you're feeling down about yourself. Levi talks badly about himself all the time, but he hates when you do it. Won't stand for it if you say something about being stupid.

If you want him to, he'll read extensive video game dialog out loud. Starts out normal, but eventually gets overly creative with it. Does different voices and everything. It's hilarious and you both end up laughing most of the time.

Will be paying attention to whether or not you seem like you're struggling with something, especially if you're both consuming some of his favorite media. He wants to be sure you're enjoying yourself, too, MC!

Satan

He knows all about it. Satan has read plenty of books about this very topic. Absolutely recognizes the signs before you tell him. Might try to help you out subtly until you tell him yourself.

Don't worry, MC. He fully understands. Please tell him exactly how it effects you, what specifically you struggle with, if you have any accompanying conditions (for instance, he has read that people with dyslexia often have ADHD as well).

He's you're study buddy. We know that Satan will tutor you as needed, so if you need extra help, he's on it. He's happy to spend time with you, going over whatever you need.

Will absolutely go flying off the handle if anyone ever says anything negative about you. Especially if some jerk of a demon calls you stupid or some variation of that. You can be sure the wrath will take over and he'll be in demon form before you know what's happening.

Asmodeus

Has never heard of this and needs you to explain it to him. Once you do, though, he has a similar reaction to Mammon's. Doesn't make a big deal out of it at all. Just accepts you as you are.

Asmo is always pampering you and this is no exception. Tell him what you need, MC! He's ready to help you with anything.

Won't stand for negative self talk. If you start doing this, he'll start kissing you all over your face to distract you. Tells you you're perfect.

Asmo quickly realizes that you have intensely creative ideas. He consults you all the time on things like what he's wearing, what kind of makeup he should use today, and so on. Your ideas are always unique and more than once he's ended up starting new trends because of your suggestions.

Beelzebub

He's going to need you to explain it to him. He asks you directly how you feel about it and what he can do to help. Tell him everything, MC.

Beel also recognizes your unique way of looking at things. Asks for your opinion on anything and everything. He tends to have a one track mind, especially when it comes to food. Your ability to look at things differently fascinates him.

He sees that you sometimes have trouble with being organized and this can result in sporadic meals. He always makes sure you're eating well. He often asks you to eat with him, that way if you haven't eaten already, you will now.

Always there to support you. Quietly stays by your side, ready to help. Not necessarily asking you about it all the time, but he's just around when you need him. Glares down anyone who dares to say anything negative about it.

Belphegor

Listens quietly as you tell him about it. Hasn't heard of it, so might ask you a lot of questions. Wants to understand this aspect of you.

Belphie is really good at being able to tell when you're overwhelmed. Takes you somewhere quiet so you can decompress. Asks you about how you're feeling so you can release some anxiety.

Similarly, he recognizes that your thoughts may be swirling by the end of the day and tries to do various relaxing activities with you so you can actually sleep. If you struggle with sleep for any reason, he's the right demon to help you with that.

Surprisingly aggressive with anyone who has the audacity to say anything negative to you about it. Gets an ominous black aura, Lucifer-style, and smiles in a terrifying way. Whoever is on the receiving end of this doesn't even have a chance to look at you funny before they are running away as fast as possible.

Diavolo

He's heard of this and now he's excited because humans are so fascinating! Tell him everything about it, please, he wants to learn.

Ah, okay, he gets it. You need some extra help with certain things. He knows how that is, he'd be totally lost without Barbatos around. He's ready to do whatever is needed to help you.

He won't make a big deal out of it, but he finds the little things that make you different really cute. If you misspell words in your D.D.D. messages, it makes him smile. If you randomly come up with some creative idea, he's always excited about it. You're just so cute, MC.

Nobody would dare to say anything bad about you in his presence, but if he hears about rumors or any such things, he will take action. Will not tolerate such things happening at RAD.

Barbatos

Yes, he is familiar with this condition. He asks you many questions, though, as he understands that it can be different for everyone.

Obviously he makes you some special tea blend. He invites you over for tea parties so he can serve it to you. Mixes in your favorite flavors, too. Insists that you need to drink it regularly. This might actually be true, but he also just wants to spend time with you.

Asks for your help with baking a lot, too. Mostly because you come up with some amazing ideas that always turn out to be delicious. Straight up changes some of his recipes due to your suggestions.

Makes sure you're taking good care of yourself. He knows that the brothers are probably on top of it, but he worries about you. He knows you can get disorganized and overwhelmed. Checks in with you regularly.

Simeon

He has no idea what it is so he listens carefully to your explanation. Gently accepting. Doesn't want to push you to tell him too much, but wants to know what you're comfortable talking to him about.

Thoughtful about it. Spends some time just observing how you act in various situations and then adjusts his own behavior accordingly. Due to this, he always knows when you're struggling with something. He's here for you, MC.

Good at redirecting things, talking you through things, or asking you specific questions to figure out what you need. Can sometimes overdo it, acting careful when you're good. Tell him as much and he checks himself immediately. Always asks for your insight on things before proceeding.

Loves cooking with you. Reads the recipes out loud as though reading them to himself, even if you don't really need him to. Fascinated by how you can come up with some seemingly crazy idea just to have it turn out amazing.

Solomon

Figures it out on his own. He's familiar with this condition and he recognizes the symptoms in you right away. Might even drop some hints that he suspects you have it. If you don't confirm it, he won't push. When you finally tell him, he nods knowingly.

Due to you being his apprentice, Solomon takes the time to figure out how to best teach you magic. If you struggle with memorizing things (like spells), he'll work to figure out how to make it easier for you.

Will absolutely spend as much time with you as needed to make sure you get all the help you need while learning from him. Magic is no joke, MC, and he's not about to let you get into anything dangerous because he didn't teach you correctly.

Constantly tells you how proud of you he is. Sees how hard you work. Even if you're quiet about your struggles, he knows about them. He doesn't want you to ever feel like you're not good enough. Reminds you of all the things you've done and everything you can do.

Luke

He's never heard of this, but he gets very serious and listens very carefully when you explain it to him. He's curious about this part of you and will ask you questions about it. You're so interesting, MC!

As with some of the others, Luke recognizes your creativity quickly. He's always asking for your opinion on all kinds of things. Asks you to come over all the time to sample his baking and give him suggestions.

Probably not very good at helping with the things you struggle with. Might try to help you with things you don't need help with. Just tell him you're good and he'll figure it out. Once he does, though, he gets better at helping you out when you actually need it.

Will absolutely yell at anyone he thinks is giving you a hard time. Pulls out some of his sass because he won't stand for it. You might have to calm him down a little.

More quick pjo/hoo headcanons

(most of these are cabin 6) (also, if I accidentally stole your headcanon, definitely let me know so I can either delete it or credit you)

Listen, I'm tired of Athena kids being only the architecture/math kids. Give me Athena kids who excel in humanities. Athena kids who know everything about their latest hyperfixation, that's it. Athena kids who are craftsmen or artists of any sort to the extent where you could mistake them for Hephaestus or Apollo kids

Generally just. Different cabins discussing someone's godly parent, because really, if you take a closer look, many gods have common traits. Like Apollo being the God of logic, music and poetry while Athena is the goddess of wisdom and art/craftsmanship. Plus Hephaestus being a blacksmith - also a craft. Dionysius, Athena, Hermes and Apollo are all associated with theatre. Hades and Hecate are both associated with magic. Is it a Demeter kid, or an Athena kid that really likes botany? You may never know. It's like Frank thinking he was a son of Apollo only to discover he is actually a son of Mars - you can have a tip and there is quite the chance you will be proven wrong.

Also. The deal with Athena kids and chess. Listen, I love you, but as a strategy lover with adhd, I have to tell you that I keep losing because I just can't focus on it. Just. Nope. Not working.

Similar goes for word games - do you think a bunch of dyslexic kids is going to love them? Maybe if it was in Greek, lmao.

I cannot get over this one: Athena kids playing instruments. Obviously, not with such an ease as many Apollo kids, but Athena kids are still pretty decent at it. Also, Athena is after all the creator of the flute. That's right. Musical talent runs in the family xd

I am once again here with my sacred animals headcanon. Gods sending their sacred animals to check on their kids. Kids being able to talk to those animals, or just being surrounded by them. Cabins having them as pets (yes, give me a cabin with a whole damn lion on a gigant dog bed)

All of the art god kids™ team up and try to convince Cheiron to let them see different musicals. So far, they have succeeded only with Hamilton, but that doesn't mean they'll give up.

Tyche, Nike and Hermes kids have bets that get out of hand very often, but they're unstoppable. Also, along with Athena and Ares kids, they take competitions to a next level, none of them willing to lose

Actually, genuenly: I'm cancelling the blond Athena kids thing. I'm moving it over to the Apollo cabin and establishing that if anything like this should work there, it should be with brunettes, because Athena herself is most commonly depicted as a brunette. Case closed.

You know that paint that basically turns everything you paint it with into a chalkboard? Or those gigantic stripes of blackboard that you can stick on your wall, mostly made for little kids to draw on? The Athena cabin has that.

Or you know what? Had. It had to be removed and replaced with whiteboards because the cabin was filled with chalk dust, which covers everything and also isn't very comfortable to breathe in.

The cabin smells like lemon and peppermint, both of which repel spiders

It also has automatic floor heating because everyone knows that the floor is the most comfortable place to study

Oh, and there is a ton of creative projects in various stages of progress

The Athena cabin sends out a messenger (animal or a person) to bring a literal olive branch when they seriously want to settle things - it's both a clever reference and a symbol of Athena. Ares cabin is the only exception because last time, they set it on fire.

You've heard all about the language headcanons, but what about Demeter kids understanding the language of flowers?

Apollo kids are either extremely afraid of snakes (because of Python) or they love them (like Asclepius), no in-between. I'm convinced that at one point, a kid determined to get their siblings to love snakes as well got one and named it William Snakespeare. That is officially the only snake liked by every cabin 7 resident

Apollo kids actually love their godly sibling, Aristaeus - God of shepherds, beekeeping, cheesemaking, stuff related to that, medicinal herbs, olive growing, oil milling and the winds that provide respite from the heat of midsummer, aka the chillest guy I've ever heard of. I'm convinced he visits the camp once in a while and brings them the good stuff. Asclepius probably visits sometimes too, but as the God od medicine, he's a busy guy. He still loves helping his sibling when it comes to his area of expertise.

All Athena kids have a gift directly received from their mother (and most of the time, it's sending a mixed message)

A cool gift concept - a weapon in the style of Jason's, except it turns into a weapon the user needs the most at the moment. It's also great because Athena kids easily adapt to any weapon with little to no training and obviously, this is a very strategic weapon to have. I also think that unlike Riptide, it could be lost very easily - Athena would definitely want to teach her kids a lesson about keeping an eye on their stuff.

You aren't allowed to ask the Athena cabin about their favourite philosophers because it always turns into a fight

Since Athena only needs a mental connection of sort to have children, there are definitely Athena kids with mortal moms or infertile parents

One time, an actual child of Minerva shows up to Camp Jupiter. Needless to say, the Romans aren't taking it well. Children of Athena are probably called to explain the circumstances of their birth, which results in a discussion uncomfortable for both sides

Since Apollo stays basically the same in Roman mythology, it can be kind of hard to tell if his kid is roman or greek. I think many children would be relieved to know that both options exist and they aren't just weird

Have I talked about how different regions worshipped gods a bit differently? Yeah. I want that to be a thing noticeable in demigods. I think I mentioned this in some of my earlier posts.

Poseidon kids instinctively know the international code of signals (a flag code used for communication between ships)

Hera's (goddess of family) and Hestia's (goddess of home) cabins can be used by unclaimed demigods

Steddie Kids

I've been stuck with the random urge to imagine Steve and Eddie's children/future for some reason. These are written with them both being cis but can be adjusted accordingly if you want one or both of them to be trans.

Steve and Eddie both end up being teachers and end up settling in Chicago using government hush money to buy a nice duplex with Robin and her partner( when people ask how they can afford it they just shrug and say that Steve had Rich parents). I fell in love with Jewish eddie so the kids grow up celebrating both Christian and Jewish holidies.

They all have Eddie's last name because I love the idea of Steve not wanting oto taint something as precious as his children with everything the Harrington name represents or contribute to his Dad having any sort of legacy. Does that make sense logistically I don't know and I don't have any particular urge to figure that out at the moment so 🤷‍♀️

Sarah Munson

Born May 11th 1995( did I make their eldest born in 95 because that was the year I was born, yes yes I did)

Born via a surrogate with eddies DNA and a doner egg

Named after the protagonist in The Labyrinth( Steve and Eddie went to see it on their first date)

Lesbian

she/they

Dark curly hair and big brown doe eyes like Eddie but tan skin and a fuller figure from her bio mom

Whether it's nature or nurture she ends up taking after Eddie loving all things fantasy and Dungeons & Dragons. She also falls in love with alt music/style but ends up going more of a punk/Riot grrrl direction much to Eddie's horror( to be clear I don't think Eddie would super buy into the punk metal rivalry but I love the idea of them getting into albeit friendly arguments about the merits of each genre)

Anthropology PhD student(studying the effect of American mass media on global cultures) and activist

ADHD/Autistic but doesn't struggle in school the same way Eddie did because he and Steve pushed to get her diagnosed when she's little so she has an IEP from kindergarten( to be clear I also think Eddie is ADHD autistic and that's why he struggled so much in school)

Daniel "Danny"Munson

Born july 2nd 1998

Born via a surrogate and a donor egg like Sarah but with Steve's DNA this time

Named for Danny Zuko( I have completely fallen in love with the idea that Steve loves Grease)

He/him

Ends up looking like a near carbon copy of Steve except for with black hair and gray eyes from his bio mom

Is athletic like Steve but also follows in his aunt Robin's footsteps and joins the marching band so he only plays sports that don't conflict. Despite for taking in to school activities that put him in a bit of a spotlight he's actually rather shy and soft spoken often having to have his big sister stand up for him. Struggles with reading but still loves discussing books with Eddie and his aunt Nancy. Pretty simple style-wise jeans and a t-shirt kind of guy.

Started a program abused neglected under privileged children both to teach them practical life skills like cooking in taxes and applying for a job but also to offer a warm supportive environment( inspired by learning about how his dads grew up)

Dyslexic; was also diagnosed Young

Charlotte and James Munson

Twins born January 31st 2000

Adopted after a younger coworker got pregnant unexpectedly and realized that she couldn't mentally be a mother but wanted them to go to a good home( birth mom is still heavily involved but fills more of an aunt role)

Named my their birth mom

Both Bi( had a crush on the same guy once it was a problem until they realize he wasn't interested in either of them)

she/her and they/them

Both have red hair and freckles( their aunt Max is delighted to have more redheads and the weird family all the upside down crew have formed over the years) but Charlotte has green eyes and James has brown

5'2" and 5'6"

both theater kids( once try to switch rules before realizing that only works with identical twins) and mischievous( yes they've been compared to the Weasley twins yes they were devastated when they found out what happened to Fred) Charlotte falls in love with Fiber Arts after helping their Middle School Drama teacher create the costumes for one of their plays. Mostly designs sew and clothing but and also knit sew and embroider. James is a writer. The twins used to put on little plays and he'd write the scripts but mostly sticks to poetry and prose as he gets older. James is an ideas guy where is Charlotte is more practical and helps him bring the ideas to life. James is more spontaneous where as Charlotte likes to stick with a routine. Charlotte style is rather eclectic and tends to shift around is mostly comprised of clothing she made or altered herself. James is one of those people that went full vintage day to day he looks like he stepped straight out of the 1920s

costume designer( Charlotte) Author/retail until his career takes off

I considered adding two more kids but I figured four was a big family while being a bit more manageable then six. However the absolutely do road trip like Steve was imagining. I could probably do a bit more to separate the twins but to avoid cliche I didn't want to make them complete opposites or exactly the same so I tried to balance the two.

Also none of them are straight because that's just how I roll is it statistically likely no do I care also no.

Random Magic School Bus headcanons

Wanda is pretty much regarded as "one of the boys." Like: she, Tim, Carlos, Ralphie, and Arnold go and do "guy things" together. (I'm a girl so I have no idea what boys like to do for fun.)

On a similar note: Carlos is the inverse. He's a guy, but he's also one of the girls. He's been invited to several "girls nights." He let Phoebe paint his nails one time.

Carlos, going on a shopping trip or something with Phoebe, D.A., Keesha, and Wanda: I'm running around Walkerville with a pack of wild lesbians.

(Wanda is the only actual lesbian in the group though.)

Sometimes Keesha and Carlos borrow each other's sweatshirts. I'll have to draw this one sometime. Keesha's wearing a dark blue hoodie and Carlos is wearing a magenta pullover with a blue stripe.

When he's older, Carlos becomes a paleontologist and for a while, works as Dr. Skeledon's assistant.

LGBTQ headcanons for the gang:

Keesha, Carlos, and Dorothy Ann: All bisexual.

Wanda: lesbian

Phoebe and Arnold: asexual

Ralphie: I hc him as aromantic for some reason. And yes, this is just based on the fact that he wears green.

Tim: gay

Wanda and Tim: *get along super well and spend lots of time together*

Someone: You two should start dating!

Them: The heck? No way. We're both gay in the wrong direction.

Phoebe and Carlos are siblings on all levels except biological. They call each other stupid nicknames. They steal each other's snacks. They would quite literally throw hands with anyone who insulted the other. They both call each other "bro."

At first glance, some people assume they are dating because they spend so much time together and they are very affectionate (lots of hugs and whatnot).

Whereas with Carlos and Dorothy Ann, those who don't know them really well don't even realize they are dating. Like: "You two can't possibly like each other that way, not with all that bickering."

Everyone who knows that bickering is just Carlos and D.A.'s way of flirting: .....

D.A. speaks with a slightly British accent, and she does have relatives in England. However, she did not get her accent from her family. Her immediate family (including herself) moved to Walkerville from Georgia, so they all have southern accents. D.A. got her accent from watching lots of BBC nature documentaries and the occasional Doctor Who episode.

D.A. comes from a family of nerds, both in the serious science aspect and the pop culture aspect. She practically grew up on sci-fi.

Ralphie, upon finding out that D.A., the class bookworm, is from Georgia: "Average student reads 10 books a day" factoid, actually statistical error. Books Georgia, who was born in the South and reads hundreds of books every day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted.

Carlos is autistic, ADHD, and dyslexic. That is all.

Not a single member of the class is neurotypical or straight.

Post-elementary and possibly middle school, D.A. starts experimenting more with her hairstyle. She's basically the class's version of Princess Leia when it comes to hairstyles. Something different every time.

Meanwhile, Phoebe found the one hairstyle she likes and just stuck with it for her entire youth.

Fun facts about Howl (that nobody asked for but I felt compelled to write)

Howl showers every day, at night. They additionally brush their teeth in the shower. They use bar soap and a washcloth and they change the water temperature several times during this because of the stim. They use floral scented shampoo and conditioner, usually either lavender or rose.

Howl hates the smell and taste of vinegar and will flee from it.

Small dog instincts despite being 5’7” they will immediately try and fight tall people. This is a horrible idea

Fucks up their uniform pretty consistantly. Wears their school uniform vest with their dorm uniform outfit, their gym uniform shirt with school uniform blazer, etc.

Mildly allergic to apples

Sleeps curled around something. Would sleep with a plush but does not have one for several reasons, most of them being “i came from a different world with no possessions” and “the tweels will bully me”

Lab partners with Deuce and hangs out with him in their spare time. They’re both dyslexic and vibing with taking turns reading the textbook wrong

Fascinating

A friend of mine who shall remain anonymous for now used to volunteer with people on the spectrum and wrote me this really fascinating take on neurodivergency in relation to my last post, and it's full of so much useful info, I'm sharing it here with permission!

Hi, I worked with adults and children on the spectrum for many years. I suspect Jungkook’s zoning out is what we’d refer to as using “one’s minds eye” to enjoy a moving picture show - the ability to see things in your mind in 3D from any viewpoint. My ex and my son are both A.D.H.D., brilliant picture thinkers, with more talent in their one finger than some have in their entire bodies. Their brains don’t like to be bored however and sitting still listening to a conversation that isn’t the least bit relevant or interesting is agony. It can make time feel like it’s standing still. The opposite is true for pleasant tasks, speeding time up and making enjoyable things feel like they are over almost immediately. The program we worked with was the Davis Correction Method. The program is this: for the 250 dolch spelling words that children are expected to know by grade 2 or 3, a picture, a meaning a the correct spelling is created using clay. This is also used for words that are often misspelled or on a weekly spelling list. In addition, the person learns to put their minds eye in one place, behind their ears, on top of their head, as though some one (another you) is reading over their shoulders. They may have changed the wording on how this is achieved, as it’s been many years since but that was the basic premise. Also, people fidget or feel the need to move when their minds eye is not on point. In young children they often feel nauseous. When they move it has a calming effect and actually feels as though they are sitting still. My son was especially sensitive to smells and the feeling of clothing next to his skin. All tags at the back of his shirts had to be removed and he would feel the fabric before he would even try something on, even at age 3 or 4 when I would try to get him dressed. T-shirts with iron on transfers or seems, itchy nylon threads at the edge of the cuff or where the buttons were sewn on would bother him. He wore 100% cotton, very good quality shirts that would feel like silk after being washed several times. He also was/is beyond gifted at sports, impressions and no longer has symptoms, so while English was not his favorite subject, he still pulled top marks in all his classes until his graduation. He obtained a Ba, with a concentration in Biology and a minor in kinesiology. He is currently working towards his masters degree. Like my ex-husband, he loves to start new things/projects but completing them is difficult if the remaining tasks are minor and boring and apt to be a bit of a hassle to do. He loves, and needs his daily routine, and does not like it when plans suddenly change at the last minute, just like his father. That is unless he is the one changing plans. That’s not to say any of this is a negative. Not at all. In fact you will find that most of the CEO’s, most successful inventors and actors are all dyslexic, ADD, ADHD. Those with dyslexia can see 3d pictures in their minds from any viewpoint. Liner thinkers like me can not. People with ADD can see in 3D too, and from any direction but they can also alter the feeling of time. Things feel slow or fast depending on interest level. A doctor performing a complicated 8 hour surgery on an infant’s heart can remain focused the entire time without so much as a tremor or a yawn. Those that possess ADHD can see in their minds as well as alter the feeling of time passing but also are considered hyper active and make exceptional athletes, dancers, idols, musicians etc. So in summary, people on the spectrum are very gifted, brilliant, inventive, creative and special beings. It is the education system that fails them unfortunately. That and the expectation that we as human beings must sit still or be indoors for hours upon hours a day doing a job in a factory, at a desk or in front of a camera. And we consider human beings to have evolved, lol. The book “The gift of dyslexia” by Ron Davis is very easy to read and it explains in the last chapters how to get “on point”, or your minds eye in the correct position.

My Horrible Adventures with Etsy

My journey with my new Etsy shop began after Redbubble changed some policies that at the moment, I can't remember what my fuss even was. In any case, I didn't like Redbubble's changes, and I had been chafing, wanting different things than Redbubble was offering, so I researched other print-on-demand platforms and immediately found Printful, which unlike Redbubble, partners with more conventional shopfront websites like Etsy, Shopify, Bigcartel and WooCommerce.

Why Print-on-Demand?

I'm fucking poor. I full stop cannot afford to order and keep a physical inventory of product so for me print-on-demand is the only answer. I literally cannot even afford my own housing where I live (I have to live with my retired dad,) so physical product inventory is completely out of the question. Currently, I only make $1,200 a month with my day job... if I'm lucky. This is while living in the most expensive place for housing in the entire landmass of North America, the Canadian province of British Columbia. Moving isn't an option as I can't even afford housing where it is cheaper in Canada, plus doing so would remove me from my family which is a no-go socially. I don't have a partner to rely on for social support: I need my family which means that I need to stay put where I am in British Columbia, at least for now.

Where do the Woes Begin?

It started with Etsy repeatedly removing my listings despite all of my art being obviously hand drawn by me (and my being able to prove it with timelapse videos,) and the use of a print-on-demand service falling well within Etsy's rules. Frustrated, I added an infographic advertising the fact that my work is absolutely mine to every single one of my listings. This did nothing. I was still somehow violating Etsy's handmade policy and I couldn't figure out why.

This is their policy, by the way:

"Handmade on Etsy is a spectrum. On one end, we have makers — sellers who are literally making their items with their own hands (or tools). On the other end, we have designers — sellers who design their items but rely entirely on outside assistance or another business to help physically produce them. Many handmade sellers fall in the middle of the spectrum because they are both making and designing their items."

Then I got the email that I took a screenshot of and included here. Unless I fixed the unknown problem, Etsy was going to suspend my account and I wouldn't be able to get it back for at least six months. Frustrated and stressed, I desperately combed over the email and my Etsy seller account, struggling to figure out what I was missing. This can be easier said than done for me because I am dyslexic, so my brain tends to skip over some of the information that I read without me even knowing about it. I also have ADHD, so my ability to focus on non-fiction jargon is even worse than usual.

You would think a creative marketplace company like Etsy would understand that not all people's brain can easily parse written instructions, except there were no real instructions in the email at all. Printful never gave me instructions for this either, which is weird considering that they want you to sell their stuff on platforms like Etsy. There were no notes that I needed to go in manually to do anything. It was only because I had already been fudging around with my listings that I finally noticed that there was a widget called 'Core Details' which needed to be edited.

At long last I had figured out that I needed to physically add a production partner - Etsy has a bulk editing option for this, but since I discovered that that option is extremely glitchy, I had to (in a panic, scared again that my shop would be banned,) edit and check every single listing to make certain that Printful was displayed as my production partner. Fixed at last, I breathed a sign of relief.

Etsy Didn't Tell Me..

...after my credit card was recently stolen that it was debiting the $.20 USD ($.28 CAD) against my future sales so when my aunt kindly bought a blanket off of me I couldn't understand why I wasn't being paid the full amount for the purchase, not even enough money to even cover its production cost. After a lot of stress and emailing I finally discovered that Etsy was charging my future sales instead of my new credit card. I still don't know if I managed to fix this or not, but in any case I took a financial hit on my aunt's sale. Hoping that I wouldn't have any more problems, I turned my mind back to other matters in my life, thinking that I could relax about my shop.

But Then I Got THIS Email!

That's right, Etsy isn't going to give me 100% of my funds after fees for three months (even though my shop has already been open for longer than that.) Since most of the cost of my product listings is my cost, this means I won't even make profit on any of my listings for a quarter of a year. This is absolutely infuriating, especially because I didn't start this shop as a hobby, but because I need money to survive, because I want to be able to support myself financially with my art because conventional day jobs just aren't working for me. I raised the prices on my items but the burn still hurts. A friend mentioned that I could sell on Ko-fi instead which would net me 100% of the funds right away, so that I never go into debt for my sales even temporarily, so I began slowly adding items to my Ko-fi shop where I already had listings for commissions. (This is still a work in progress as I write this.)

Printful's Return Policy Sucks

This one isn't Etsy's fault, but it sure hurts too and Printful never directly explained what their policy was when I was getting into doing this so like a nincompoop I just left the default 30 day Printful return policy on my items. Simply put, because Printful is a print-on-demand company they do not accept returns or refund for buyer's remorse or even for incorrect sizing (no exchanges whatsoever.) Today I learned that an apparel item that I had sold was the wrong size for my customer so I looked up Printful's return policy and learned that Printful is never going to refund me for what I paid for my customer's item

I quickly got rid of the default Printful return policy on my Etsy shop, but now I'm going to be out $60 which I couldn't afford to lose in order to refund my poor customer. Coming from a decade of working in retail I feel bad not being able to accept returns or exchanges now, but I just can't afford to swallow any costs. It's bad enough how long Etsy takes to pay me even just 70% of of my sales; by the time that they do, Printful has already taken the item cost from me.

Apart from Ko-fi, I'm not Entirely Sure What to do Now.

At the moment I plan on leaving my cheaper listings - cotton t-shirts, stickers, toques/beanies and headbands on my Etsy store and treat it as a gateway to my Ko-fi. However, Ko-fi isn't really an option for growing my business because I have never been a successful artist when it comes to offering commissions and the only people who are going to readily find my Ko-fi are my friends and other artists. The problem with us creative people is while we really love supporting each other by buying each other's merch, we're also often kind of financially challenged because a good pecentage of us are neurodivergent (conventional day jobs are hard for us. It's like asking a Windows computer to run a program coded for Apple.)

I need to have my products available to strangers who have never heard of me before, who stumble across my work because they love wolves or other animals. So, I need to research a new commerce platform. Right now I'm muddling over learning more about WooCommerce and Weebly. I like the idea of a platform that posts ads on social media where strangers might encounter them and buy my work but I may need to launch a website which is yet another monthly fee.

I Haven't Earned Anything; I've LOST Money Instead.

Before I removed all the listings from my Etsy shop I had over 200 listings, each of which cost me $.20 USD ($.28 CAD) a pop. Since at least half of those had to be relisted after three months, all those listings really add up. Now, with Etsy refusing to pay me all of my money, plus ads that I paid for, and with the confusion with Printful's ridiculous return policy I think that I'm out at least $200 which I couldn't afford to spend. All of the Youtube videos about commerce platforms preach Etsy as the best site for artists to sell their work on but I almost want to remove my shop entirely.

I read multiple things about Etsy not being great for artists before I went into this venture but truthfully the Youtube videos that I watched which said the opposite really confused me. Despite its ridiculous return policy I still like Printful but until I make a proper amount of money with it I won't be able to offer refunds at all.

Mostly, I feel like a complete idiot because my dyslexia caused me to not immediately notice particular details* and I'm upset that Etsy and Printful weren't more transparent in their communications with me. The production partner issue could have been solved with a simple picture tutorial included in the email, or even just more detailed instructions instead of the ambiguous 'review your listings' that they wrote into it. Further, as many of my friends have mentioned, Etsy's seller fees are just plain high. It's definitely not a good platform for artists at all.

I'm very grateful to all of my friends and fellow artists for trying to warn people, warn me, that Etsy is no good. I'm upset that my glitchy brain required me to learn why Etsy sucks the hard way, by trying. Hopefully someday I can still find a way to support myself with my creativity and stop hurting from my complete lack of financial independance because normal work is too stressful for me (not to mention how it is damaging my drawing hand's wrist to the point that my doctor is talking about carpal tunnel surgery.)

I'm deeply glad that I never got around to printing any business cards for my Etsy shop; it will continue to exist, for now, as a gateway to my Ko-fi shop and hopefully someday other online marketplaces.

*This isn't the first time that my dyslexia has screwed me over and it unfortunately probably will not be the last. It prevented me from pursuing my childhood dream career of becoming a wildlife biologist by making math an absolute agony of stressful frustration.

c!ranboo repeats words a lot to try to say them "right," can get stuck saying certain words / sentences again and again until it's perfect. he hates eye contact.

hes very texture sensitive n only likes certain foods for that reason, altho he cant always remember which foods he likes n which ones he doesnt. hes also very sensitive to bright light, both due to sensory issues + from being from the end which is darker than the overworld.

he also sees person to person interaction sort of like a video game and relies on trial and error to figure out how to do conversations "right" (right by nt standards).

in terms of ocd he has more intrusive thoughts n repetition n checking compulsions than anything else, no cleanliness ocd im tired of that being the only symptom thats talked abt. he always goes back n checks things n u can often find him doing things in 3s or 7s.

hes very prone to overworking himself and trying too hard to do things the way he sees as correct which exhausts him and he often works far too long at things like mining because he wants to do them right and he wants to get as many resources as possible (to prove himself to be a worthy partner :') )

c!tubbo is about the exact opposite in terms of getting things done in that he Doesnt. he gets overwhelmed very easily n it's only gotten worse as he's gotten older. he frequently has complete shutdowns bc of executive functioning issues n will just Do Nothing and hate himself about it.

however hes also very hyperactive and hyper focuses easily. any topic that is even slightly enjoyable he will spend hours researching, leading to headaches from sitting in the library trying to read and inhaling dust all day.

he masks a lot due to anxiety n tries to appear as "normal" as possible which is often a train right straight to dissociation.

he scripts out conversations with everyone but close friends and will go blank when someone goes off script- like if he goes to buy two lemonades and they say theyre out of lemonade it takes him quite a few seconds to process it, and longer to try to create a new script with the new decision, which leads to very stressful situations when talking to new ppl

he doesnt understand sarcasm at all, but ranboo, who uses sarcasm a lot as a way to blend in more with neurotypicals, is almost always able to explain what's meant when tubbo misses sarcasm

he also hates bright lights. he and ranboo have dim torches in their mansion with the only exception being the library, where there's much more light to make reading easier

he hates asking for help. hates it, he thinks it makes him weak, but it doesn't, and thats something he's still trying to internalize. he sometimes watches tommy for an example of a friend he looks up to ( :') anon u did not say "sprinkle in c!clingyduo" but I Am Anyway) who is trying to get help for his mental health to prove to himself its ok to do so as well

thinking about ranboo crying and tubbo trying to wipe his tears away so they dont burn him. also thinking about tubbo crying and ranboo wiping his tears and not flinching even though it stings.

ranboo listens to lemon demon constantly because he's cool. tubbo grows to love it even tho normally hearing the same few songs on repeat for ages would drive him mad

tubbo n ranboo keep michael inside to keep him safe but sometimes on snowy nights when theres nobody in sight and hasn't been in days theyll go outside and make snow angels and ranboo always makes sure to wear extra layers so he doesn't get hurt by the snow so he can spend as much time as possible with his son and husband

Mental Health is Important but Hard to Deal

Chopper convinced Luffy to do the nest after their mental health checkup. This allowed Chopper to conduct several tests and one-on-one interviews with crew members over the course of four days. Chopper was not a professional psychiatrist. Neither Doctor Hiluluk nor Doctorin. Yes, he studied from the books. He had read a lot of books, but that's not how psychology worked. Although the Doctorin was not a psychiatrist, there had been a few cases of Ptsd. So he had little experience, but most of his crew members were not cooperative. At least there was a lot they didn't want to tell. So Chopper was very stressed because he didn't know how to help his crew, his pack.

Realizing that Chopper was stressed, Robin decided to help him. So she knocked on the door of the med bay and, with permission from Chopper, entered.

“You okay Doctor-san?” “Robin…” “You can tell me.” “But patient-doctor confidentiality…” “Chopper, you are our pup. You shouldn't bear our scars alone.” “Robin, I don't know how to help.” "Why don't you start by telling me what you found first?" “I learned too much and too little. Some are not cooperative at all.” “I think I am one of them.” "Yes." “Sorry Chopper, but I think you know enough already.” “But Robin I remember. When you first joined. "Good morning, sister Eggbert!"

"Morning, Anileah. Can you take attendance today?"

Drama *yelling into the intercom*: AAAAHH! CODE RED, CODE RED! I REPEAT, WE HAVE A CODE RED!"

Social Skills: Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down. We'll just use the chalkboard excuse. We've seen plenty of kids use that excuse before.

Self Doubt: It's not gonna work. It's a whiteboard.

Mean Streak: You're kidding me. That's it, this is all your fault, Dyslexia.

Dyslexia: My fault? I didn't put the whiteboard there!

Mean Streak: Yeah, but everyone wouldn't be freaking out if we could actually spell something!

Dyslexia: I can't help it! My brain just shuts off!

Mean Streak: Exactly! Thanks to you, all our brains shut off, so thanks for that, thank you.

Passion: It's ok, Dyslexia. No one blames you. You help us out in a lot of ways!

Mean Streak: Speak for yourself.

"Sure, no problem!" I said, trying to ignore my pounding heart as I walked up to the whiteboard and picked up the marker.

ADHD: Wait, what did we just agree to do?

Mean Streak: Social Skills just agreed to get us all killed.

Social Skills: We had to say something! What was I supposed to do? Say no?

Everyone: YES!

Social Skills: Come on, guys, that would be uncooperative. We don't even have a valid excuse.

Mean Streak: Yes we do, and it's standing right in front of you.

Passion: Don't be mean, Mean Streak. Dyslexia's strengths just lie elsewhere. For example, did you know she is VERY creative?

Mean Streak: Oh, that's wonderful, Passion! Maybe she can write everyone's names in pretty cursive! Oh wait, she can't even read cursive, let alone write it.

Social Skills: Argue about this later, guys. Drama, got any other excuses for us?

Drama: Sure, sure, how about the fact that WE DON'T KNOW EVERYONE'S NAMES!

Social Skills: What? Yes we do.

ADHD: LOL, nope.

Social Skills: What do you mean, 'LOL nope'?

Mean Streak: You never actually introduced us to anyone.

Social Skills: Oh. Yeah, you're right. Sorry guys, that one's on me.

Drama: WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!

Mean Streak: Of embarrassment.

Social Skills: Wait, there's Landon! We know his name.

Mean Streak: Yeah, but does cross-eyes over there know how to spell it?

"Hey Landon, come write your name down on the board."

ADHD: Oo, good call.

"Uh, isn't that whoever's taking attendance's job?"

ADHD: I take it back.

Sister Eggbert peeked up from her lesson plan, "Yeah, just write their names down as they come in."

ADHD: Busted.

Everyone: Will you shut up already?

Social Skills *taking deep breath*: It's fine, guys, we got thi- DYSLEXIA NO!

"Alright." I say, scribbling 'Landin' onto the board, cringing inside at how sloppy my handwriting was.

I cringed even harder when I heard Landon say, "Um, you spelled my name with an I."

"Oh, yeah, oops." I could hear the gears turning in my brain. "It's with an E, duh."

"Uh, no. L-A-N-^%$#@^*."

Drama: ABORT ABORT! He spelled it too fast! We already failed twice! Give up while we're ahead!

"Wait, what?"

"Yeah. Landon."

"No, no. How'd you spell it?"

"I just told you. L-A-N-$#%^$#. Landon. With an O."

I sighed inwardly with relief at the last sentence. Thank heavens I wouldn't have to ask him to repeat himself a third time.

"Oh, of course! I knew that." I said, trying to laugh it off.

Mean Streak: Dyslexia, not cool.

Social Skills: Yeah, I gotta admit, Dyslexia, that... that was painful.

Passion: It's ok, Dyslexia. One person at a time. Who's next?

Social Skills: Coltrin.

ADHD: YES! My main man Coltrin! We had WAY too much fun sitting next to each other.

Mean Streak: Yeah, that's why sister Eggbert separated you two.

ADHD: Ah, good times, good times.

Social Skills *ignoring ADHD and Mean Streak*: Ok, but this time we're gonna ask him how to spell it BEFORE we attempt to. Ok Dyslexia?

Dyslexia *not paying attention*: Col-trin. Coltrin. Is it with a K or a C?

"Yo Coltrin, how do you spell your name?"

Coltrin lifted his head up from where it was nestled in his arms on his desk, "Seriously, bro?"

Drama: *passes out*.

Mean Streak: Great, now he thinks we're an illiterate idiot.

Self Doubt: Are we?

Passion: No! Of course we aren't!

Social Skills: Ok, ok, I admit, things look bleak, but I can get us out of this.

Passion: Actually, I was thinking we'd let ADHD try.

Everyone except ADHD: WHAT?!

Passion: Well, he does know Coltrin best. Aaand, he's already at the controls...

"Yes, seriously. Dude, Landon literally spells his name like someone misspelling London. For all I know, you spell your name with a C!"

"Dude, my name is spelled with a C."

"C what I mean?!"

Coltrin gave his signature lopsided grin, "Heh, I C what you did there."

I grinned right back, "Dude, you C right through me."

"No one C's you the way I do."

"Duuuude."

"Duuuuuude."

Mean Streak *facepalming*: Great. Now EVERYONE in the class thinks we're idiots. Nice going ADHD.

Social Skills: Actually... ADHD managed to handle a potentially awkward situation with humor.

Mean Streak: Yeah, stupid humor.

Social Skills: I mean, if it works, it works. Well done ADHD.

Drama: Uh, I hate to ruin the moment, BUT WE HAVE TEN STUDENTS INBOUND!

Social skills: Ok team, game plan. #1 from now on, we ask how to spell their names before attempting it on our own.

Self Doubt: What if they speak too fast?

Social Skills: There's no shame in asking them to repeat themselves more slowly.

Mean Streak: Yes, there is.

Social Skills: #2 no one listens to Mean Streak.

Mean Streak: Oh, so it's ok to listen to neurodivergent over there, but not me?

Social Skills: #3 we are going to ignore Mean Streak. And finally, to avoid this situation in the future, we will wait until at least three other students are in class before entering the premises.

Self Doubt: But what if we get here early? We always get here early.

ADHD: Easy, we sleep in.

Social Skills: And risk being late? No way. We'll just wait outside the class or hide in the bathroom or something.

Mean Streak: 'Cause that's not weird.

Social Skills: Whatever, we'll figure something out. Until then, we've got Marin coming in on the right. Dyslexia, does two R's look right?

Dyslexia: Hmm, no, that doesn't look right. I think It's just one.

"Um, it's just one R, Anileah." Marin said sweetly.

"Was just about to fix that."

Social skills: Ee! A cool kid knows our name!

Mean Streak: Of course she does. Unlike some people, she actually pays attention when someone introduces themselves.

ADHD: Don't look at me! How am I supposed to pay attention when Passion is using up all the memory space to remember everyones favorite color?!

Passion: Landon just changed his to blue last week.

ADHD: Whoa. Seriously, how'd you know?

Social Skills: Right. Well, good call, Dyslexia. Passion, the two boys behind her-

Passion: One of them's Noah, the other's Jacob... I think.

ADHD: Naw, Jacob's the tall one who sat down like five minutes ago.

Drama: Five minutes ago?! WELL, WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY SOMETHING?!

ADHD: I thought you already got him.

Social skills *going through the list*: No, I don't see any Jacob. But there's a Joey. We don't have a Joey in our class... Dyslexia?

Dyslexia: Sorry! I didn't know if Jacob was spelled with a K or a C, so I just put Joey. That's short for Jacob, right?

Social Skills *dragging a hand over her face*: No, Joey is short for Joseph, not Jacob.

Dyslexia: W-what?

Social Skills: Try both. *speaking slowly* J-A-C-K-O-B. See if that looks right.

Several agonizing minutes later, after attendance has been successfully completed (more or less).

ADHD: There's something off about Jacob.

Social Skills: Really? He seems fine to me.

ADHD: No, not the boy, dingbat, the name.

Dyslexia: There- there is?

ADHD: Yeah, your J is backward.

Dyslexia: No. Gosh, please no!

ADHD: Mmhm, and your K.

Dyslexia *groaning and burying her face in her hands*: Oh no...

ADHD: J.K! Ha! Get it? Cause I said, your J and K were backward! J.K!

Sort-of AU for Chai where they dysfunctional family are all disabled/neurodivergent in some way. (Seriously, Chai, I told you that I’m trying to work on my phantom thief AU, please stop requesting new ideas)

Celestia -Had to get her left arm amputated after a drunkard shot a bullet into it (he was upset that she beat him at gambling) -She has a prosthetic arm now, so it’s all good -Except that it sometimes acts up so she learned to gamble with only one hand. She’s really good at it

Kyoko -Mute since birth -She’s not deaf, though. She can hear fine, she just can’t speak -Caused by apraxia, specifically apraxia of speech (inability to plan and coordinate the movements needed for speech) -Taught the kids sign language

Kokichi -Paralyzed from neck down after experiencing severe trauma from a car accident -He gets around in an electric wheelchair that Miu built for him, which is equipped with cool features such as robotic hands -He can move his hands a little bit, but not his legs -Despite this, he still pranks people a lot, and can make a quicker getaway in his wheelchair

Miu -Dyslexic and autistic -She stims by constantly fiddling with her tools and stuff. Both productive and relaxing! -Created the inventions for most of her family. She’s constantly adding new features to Kokichi’s wheelchair -She can’t really read instruction sheets well, so she mostly goes along with whatever feels right and it usually turns out great (except for that one time with the microwave. They don’t discuss that)

Maki -Deaf and possibly autistic -When she was still in the orphanage, she was unable to afford hearing aids and grew up never hearing even the slightest sound -So although she has hearing aids now, she doesn’t like wearing them because she’s unused to all the noise -She gets overwhelmed easily and can’t be around large groups of people

Kotoko -Has autism and ADHD -She can’t stay focused for long periods of time and will often run off to do her own thing -You can’t touch her. She will freak out and have a meltdown, which takes a long time for her to calm down from

Nagisa -Very intense OCD, which also causes anxiety. If he doesn’t carry out his compulsions, he will have a meltdown -Constantly feels a need to be better -Throws himself into his studies, which is the only thing he feels that he can be good at

Angie -Blind. She has a guide dog, named Summer -She’s very proficient in braille and has attempted to teach it to her family members at least once -She picked up sign language pretty fast too, but can’t really use it since, y’know, she’s blind -Has an incredibly creepy habit of just staring at you, made all the more spooky since you know she can’t actually see you, but it feels like she’s staring directly into your soul -Can’t communicate with Maki too well, as she can’t see Maki and Maki can’t hear her. They’ve resorted to getting someone else as a translator

Korekiyo -Suffers from dissociation due to the trauma of their biological family’s deaths -It’s very common to walk into a room and find them there, just staring into space -The rest of them usually just gently shake them to bring him back, except for Angie, who usually does not notice that they’re even in the room because they’re so quiet

Ryoma -Like Celeste, he had to get an arm amputated due to the incident with the mafia -After that, he sank into depression, believing that he was worthless since he couldn’t even use his ultimate talent anymore -He’s getting better, but it’s a slow process -The rest of the family are very supportive of him, and he appreciates that

Lots of bold/lots of italics: for posts that have big chunks of text in bold or italics. If it has both, I'll tag both separately, ie "#lots of bold #lots of italics"

Eventual bold/eventual italics: for posts that only have one or two words at a time in bold or italics. If it has both, I'll tag both separately, ie "#eventual bold #eventual italics"

Tiny text: posts with tiny text

Big text: posts with big text

Embedded links: posts with hyperlinks

I don't use desktop, but on mobile, all you have to do is go to settings -> account settings -> filter -> add filter

If you add a word filter, any posts with that word in the body of the post will be blocked. If you add a tag filter, any posts tagged as that content will be blocked. You'll want to use the tag filter in this case

It happened too fast, and she didn't register it all yet.

She was running alongside with her friend Alex, who wasn't who she thought he was. Was there any sign? Wait no, scratch that. There were too many signs but she chose to believe there wasn't. I mean, no one could blame her for it right? She was considered a trouble maker for as long as she remembers. Changing schools too often. The signs were all there.

Y/N Y/L/N is a fourteen year old girl leading a normal life. Well, if you call having to change multiple schools for causing accidents and then getting expelled normal. But it was the longest she spent on this current school, almost a full year. Only two months until the final exams and she would complete a whole year. She was sure to stay alone with her only friend, Alex and away from everyone.

She was returning home to her family, who never seemed to be mad at her despite causing so much trouble. Her step-father, worked in a bank, and you would think this is enough to afford a good place but nope. Her home was in a dingy, crowded and closed area - where every person worked hard everyday, streets were busy, houses were unrepaired with broken water pipes and trash everywhere that caused a stench. But she didn't have complaints about it. Her neighbours were nosy, but nice people. And her parents were already losing a lot of money on her for changing schools so frequently. She was happy and felt blessed to have a home where she could be herself.

Because her experience in school was awful. Getting humiliated and laughed at in front of the whole class was kind of a daily routine to her. But she was glad for not being bullied as bad as the other students. And the reason was because of her voice. Y/N was always the lead singer. She wasn't exactly trained to be a singer, but when she started singing, it captured everyone's attention. It was a good publicity stunt for the school's image too, since she was dyslexic with ADHD. So they had no complaints, except for those in the team.

But let's get back to her current situation. It happened when she was returning home from her school and she felt someone was following her. Her home might've been in a crowded place but in order to reach there, she had to pass through a dark road. Soon she started walking faster and then running, and the footsteps behind her sounded inhumane, too loud and like a huge person was following her. She looked back to observe his face and slammed onto someone.

"What the heck are you doing here!" Alex asked pulling her along and running, "I've been calling you for hours!"

"I had music class, um, so I was late and my battery ran out!" Y/N said, "THIS IS MY WAY HOME, I SHOULD BE ASKING YOU THAT?!"

"There isn't much time to explain," he said and looked behind, "don't freak out okay? J-just follow me."

"I'm glad you're here but this isn't my way home Alex! Where are you taking me?!"

"I told you not to freak out!" he said and turned right to the main road. He looked around as if he was searching for someone when Y/N's father pulled up with a cab.

"Get in!" he said.

"Dad?"

"Just get in!" he said and both of them entered the cab, which sped up.

"What is happening? Is mom okay?"

"Ugh, I'm taking off these. It's hard to run with this man," Alex said and pulled off...

his leg?

"Wha-" Y/N started freaking out looking at his friend's legs, which were now replaced with cloven hooves and-

BONK!

Alex hit her with his fake leg and she finally passed out.

When Y/N woke up, unfortunately with a bump on her forehead, she was still in the cab, parked on a hill. Before she started freaking out again her father rested his hand on her shoulder and tried to calm her down saying, "Look, we don't have much time to explain but there's somewhere you need to go right now. There's a camp on the top of the hill there. You need to stay there, okay? Trust me."

"Why? What-"

"Listen to me...it might sound bizarre because it did sound like it when I heard it too but...your father didn't leave you and your mother behind. It was necessary because he was a..." He glanced momentarily behind her, looking at Alex and then cleared his throat saying, "god. Like an actual god."

Y/N looked at her father like he lost his mind and this was some kind of a sick joke that he was playing but her father continued, "I know it's hard to register but all those bizarre things that you saw..were all true. Your mother is in the hospital right now getting patched up. We didn't exactly have much time and I needed to hurry-"

"You left her in the hospital?! Why-"

"These monsters are after you Y/N. It was the only thing I knew what would stop the monsters from...from ruining everything."

"What do you mean?"

"The whole neighbourhood suddenly got wrecked, how we don't have idea but it happened too fast. Most of the people think it was some kind of earthquake that ruined all of their homes but that wasn't it. Your mother called you but your phone was off."

"How is she! Is she-"

"She's fine...just a broken arm. But there are a lot of others who were injured worse. We don't even have a count of how many lost their lives."

"So...if I stay away...you will be..safe?"

"Y/N we need you to stay away for your own safety. They were here to kill you."

She looked at the empty driver's seat and then at her friend.

"Take your time-" her father said but was quickly interrupted by Alex and said, "No, they'll be here soon. We need to go. The driver is kind enough to give us some space."

"Well I kind of hired him to get to office everyday. So he listens to me if I have a request." Y/N looked at her friend's feet and was about to touch his leg when he bleated and said, "Don't touch."

She looked up at his face, and noticed the horns. "Wait, what are you?"

"I'm a satyr, uh, half human and half goat?"

"Is that why you tripped all the time? Because of-"

"We should go. I'll explain it on the way."

They got out of the cab and looked at the driver, who was smoking far away from the cab. She turned to her father, half of her still didn't believe what he said but he wouldn't lie about her mom like that. It must be something urgent. He hugged Y/N and kissed her forehead.

"Please stay safe. I need to go now."

"Yeah, I'll call you. Uh..take care of mom," Y/N said.

"Nope, you can't call," Alex informed, "Don't worry there's another way."

She watched her father wave her goodbye as he left with his cab. She started walking towards the camp and stared at her friend's legs.

"Stop staring," Alex said and jumped, "See? It's real. And...sorry about hitting you back there."

"Uh..yeah it just happened so fast. I'm still processing it. You mean to tell me...all these things about god is...real? Who's my father?"

"Greek god to be specific but oh well," Alex patted her back and said, "I'll answer your every question in the camp. Let's rest a bit first. We did just run away from a monster."

"Well then atleast tell me who's my father."

"I have a hunch but...I'm not the one who should answer it."
