Dark Cream Week LV 4: Sweet Lie/Bitter Truth

Sweet Lie:

Shattered was wary of Jax so, Jax did what all narcissists do and love bombed him. Jax also uses magic as seen by the bright magenta outline of his pupil. Mild hypnosis triggered by said love bombing. Jax also used clothing to make himself look better hence the palette Shattered is wearing. To him Jax said it looks great so he believed it. It looks bland I know

(Love Bombing is the act of showing a lot of affection after an argument/ stone walling. This is a gaslighting tactic to keep the victim happy so they don’t leave due to a lack of love/affection from their abuser.)

Bitter Truth:

OG Cross deals with Gaster trying to guilt/gaslight him into coming back to being a puppet using his brother who Cross loved a lot throughout all of the overwrites. It hurt the most to see him die when he nuked X-Tale with x-chara in my AU. Regardless of emotional response Cross knows that his brother is gone and all that remains is Gaster’s pawn.

I just wanted to say, thank you so much for not being a Taylor cupcake, being sane post breakup and criticising her for associating with Him™. As someone who's been a fan since almost a decade, ik it is super hard to just dissociate from her😞. Do you think you'll ever be the same way about her?

I always thought someday I'll get over her or distance myself from her as I grow up. and it'll happen sweetly and someday I'd look back and not regret any sweet memory of being by her side in some what way and listening to her as a child and loving her. I never thought it'd turn this way.

tbf even after she started dating matty, even before the people article I thought maybe someday I'll still look back and love those days when I was a silly cupcake and would defend her no matter even when I knew I'm just streams for her.

but after this article I can't even see myself doing that. but maybe someday, if she ever apologizes (Ik she won't and it's more painful) maybe I'll start listening to her again but I'll always have a bad taste about all this.

the worst part is, I can't even think about this day dream / delusion I had anymore. she has ruined my imaginations now too along with her songs.

MOODBOARD MONDAY: Dream

Trying to get back in the groove of writing book 2 of the Truth Saga and @moon-and-seraph's MBM came up on my dash just in time!

The snake was wrapped around his throat, dragging him down into thick, black oil. He choked, tried to scream, but the oil filled his mouth and no sound could leave. There was a knife in his hand. The metal was cold in his palm as he lifted it through the sludge. His hand came free, plunged the weapon into the snake’s coiled body – but the snake was gone. His throat burned and blood coated his hand.

Blade, the main character of Bitter Truth, is an extremely closed off and brainwashed man, to the point where he can scarcely understand or recognise his own emotions in his waking life.

As such, one of the main narrative tools I use is his nightmares, thick with symbolism to warn him where his mind is at throughout the novel. These nightmares are recurring/themed so I thought I'd throw together a moodboard based on them!
