Both of you being famous wasn't easy with you being a singer and Sebastian being an actor. Especially when you wanted to keep your relationship a secret and you were quite younger than him. You have been dating for a while now and you couldn't be more in love with him. He was your muse for many of your songs, but the fans didn't know that. They did notice though that you started writing more love songs than before. You got questions about it almost every day, but you never answered them. They had their speculations, but you never confirmed any of it. It might be selfish, but you wanted to keep him all to yourself and both of you agreed to wait a little more before going public. He was promoting his new movie and you didn't want people to think that you announced your relationship only to give more publicity to it. But sometimes the universe doesn't care what you want.
It was a normal day, like any other, when you were at Sebastian's house and you started craving some McDonald's. The weather was nice for the time being past 10 pm so you decided to go out to buy it instead of ordering. It was dark already so you weren't afraid that anybody would see or recognize you. It was a five minute walk from his house and you thought it would be nice have a short walk. You waited for Sebastian to lock the front door then started walking down the street hand in hand. It probably wasn't the best idea, but you really didn't think that any paparazzi would be near you. You went into the fast food place to buy what you needed, then started walking back to his place, laughing at a story he was telling you. You loved these late night walks, the dark giving you a sense of comfort.
"Baby" he stopped walking as still giggled, making you stop as well. You turned to him, eyebrows raised in question, a smile still on your face. "I love you" he blurted out, intently looking at you, waiting for your reaction. He never said it before, despite dating for almost 6 months now. You didn't say it either yet, not wanting to make him uncomfortable or rush him. After his last relationship he wanted to be extra sure when saying the three words and you understood him. Your heart skipped a few beats at his confession, the smile widening on your lips.
"I love you too, Seb." you beamed, stepping closer to him and pulling him into a hug.
"Thank god." he mumbled into your hair, making you pull away.
"What do you mean 'thank god'? How could I not feel the same way about you? Haven't you heard the songs I wrote lately?" you asked jokingly in disbelief, but knowing he didn't mean it like that.
"You know what I mean" he blushed under the light of the streetlamp.
"I do" your arms going around his neck you pulled him down into a deep kiss. When you broke apart you walked back to his house to finally eat.
What you didn't realize was that there was a paparazzi following you, getting the perfect angle of your kiss, taking a series of photos.
The next morning you were woken up by your phone essentially exploding with calls and messages. You groaned as you reached for it, barely being able to touch it as Sebastian refused to let go of your waist.
"Why is your phone waking us up at the ass crack of dawn?" he groaned, rubbing his eyes.
"I don't know" you unlocked it to see at least 25 calls from your manager and another few from friends and family. Around the same amount of texts were sent as well, making you sit up in bed, confused. "Something is wrong." he sat up at your tone to look at your phone. You dialed your manager, putting it on speaker. She picked up right away.
"What the fuck are you doing?" she almost screamed into the device, making Sebastian look at you.
"I was sleeping. It's 7 am." you explained.
"Care to tell me why is you and Sebastian kissing plastered on every news site on the internet right now?" your whole world stopped at her words.
"What did you say?" Sebastian spoke up as you were still frozen in your spot.
"Oh your partner in crime is there too? Great. I don't have to say this twice." she was being sarcastic, but you didn't care. You just wanted an explanation.
"Tell us what is happening, please" you pleaded.
"There are multiple pictures of you going around. They are claiming that they took them last night." she explained, but that wasn't enough.
"What pictures?" you asked.
"Pictures of you holding hands and kissing." you ran your hand through your hair.
"Fuck" Sebastian sighed.
"That's an understatement." you heard shuffling on the other side. "So I recommend you guys figure out what you are going to do and do it real fast because it is getting out of hand."
"Yeah, sure we will do that." he took the phone from you. "Thanks."
"Just doing my work." she ended the call with a sigh. Sebastian looked at you as you stared at your legs, deep in thought.
"Hey" he brushed his hand up your back, shaking you out of your mind.
"Yeah?" you looked at him, startled.
"We need to do something." he explained.
"Yeah, yeah, sure. What should we do? Go public? I mean we don't really have any other choice." you furrowed your brows.
"Do you want that?" he wanted you to be hundred percent okay with whatever you were going to do.
"Yes, I just hoped it wouldn't happen like this." you sighed. "Do you want that?" you asked back.
"Yes. We already talked about going public so I guess we will have to do it now." he shrugged.
"How are we doing this then?" you stood up to get dressed, getting ready for the day.
"Posting a video on TikTok?" he grinned.
"Absolutely not. We are not posting on Tiktok." you shook your head, laughing.
"So where do you want it? Facebook?" he raised his eyebrows, joking.
"No." you laughed. "I was thinking about posting a pic on Instagram." you threw out the idea. Both of you used the app a lot so it would be the best choice.
"Okay, let's find a picture." he also stood up.
"Ah-ah" you held out your hand to stop him. "You talk to your manager while I pick out a picture to post on my account and you can post one on yours if you want to. Mine is going to be a surprise." you grinned, already having one in mind. It was your favorite picture of you, taken by a friend without your knowledge. You were in a parking lot at the beach, you sitting on the hood of his car while he was standing between your legs, kissing you. There was a second picture, where you were leaning your forehead against his, both of you laughing at your friends shouting at you to get a room. Both of your faces were clearly seen on them so you decided to post both of them.
'All of the songs are about you' the caption read. In seconds your notifications were blowing up with comments from fans. You didn't want to read them, because you knew how people on the internet could get and you knew that you being younger than him would bother some of them. Sebastian came out of the bedroom to sit next to you.
"You posted it?" he asked, taking out his phone.
"Yep" you smiled. You leaned your head against his shoulder as he opened the app, waiting for his reaction. He immediately searched up your name and tapped on the photo. His thumb froze on the little heart as he read the caption. He put the phone down and grabbed your chin to pull you to his soft lips in a kiss.
"I love you." he mumbled into your lips.
"I love you too." you giggled. He pulled away to pick up the phone to leave a comment. 'If I wrote songs mine would be about you too' you snorted at it. "You are cute"
-
A few days later you had enough courage to check the comments people were leaving online. Maybe it wasn't the best idea.
'Jesus. Isn't he like 12 years older than her?? Gross'
'He is definitely using her lmao but I can't blame him, get that coin king'
'Y'all think she calls him daddy in the bedroom kjsdnhs'
'She is just using him to write songs'
There were nice comments as well, calling you cute together and wishing you well. The mean comments always stuck with you more though and you didn't want Sebastian to read them. It was enough that you went through them. Both of you were a little insecure about your age gap, but you loved each other so you helped the other through the harder times.
You got to his house and walked in as he asked you to not to knock anymore. You found him sitting on his couch, phone in hand. Hoping that he wasn't doing what you thought he was doing you sat down next to him. He had instagram open.
"Seb" you sighed, taking the phone out of his hands.
"What? I just wanted to see what they were saying." he tried to defend himself.
"You shouldn't read these." you shook your head. "So you wanna watch a movie?" you changed the subject. He agreed with your suggestion.
The movie had been playing for a half an hour when he pulled away from your cuddling.
"What if they are right?" his voice was so quiet so almost didn't hear him. You paused the movie to look at him.
"What do you mean?" you asked, confused by his sudden outburst.
"The comments saying that you could do so much better than me" he kept looking at his feet. You sat up and grabbed his chin to turn his head towards you, your heart breaking at his words. This was exactly why you didn't want him to read them.
"Baby" you sighed. "They are not right. Not even by far. I could not find anyone better than you even if I tried. But I'm not trying because I have you with me and you are the best thing that happened to me in a long time. So get that thought out of your head." you stared into his eyes to get your point across.
"But don't you want someone your age?"
"No I don't." you shook your head. "I am perfectly happy with you and I don't need anyone else." you held his cheeks between your palms. "Plus I like it that you are older." you smirked making him chuckle lightly. Climbing onto his lap you pulled him closer. "I love it that you are more experienced." you pressed a soft kiss on his cheek. "I love it that you are taller." a kiss under his ear. "I love it that you are always so so sweet to everyone you meet." a kiss on his nose. Your right hand went into his hair as your lips kissed down to his neck. "And I love the way you make me feel when it's just the two of us." you whispered into his ear, your breath hitting his skin, making him let out a moan. He grabbed your waist in a strong grip. "I love how big your hands are." you nipped at his skin on his neck earning another noise of pleasure and his fingers digging into your skin. "But most importantly" you pulled away so you could look into his eyes to show your sincerity. "I love you. All of you. With everything I have." his eyes softened as he pulled you into a passionate kiss.
"I love you too."

as soon as the two of you stepped into changbin's apartment the whole energy that had been building up since the wedding event started to unleash itself. just like two teenagers experimenting together for the first time, changbin's hands dragged themselves along the sides of your body hungrily.
"this looks so good on you" changbin panted, the touch of his hands leaving a burning sensation on your skin even though it was still covered with the fabric of the dress.
"mhm?" you hummed, hooking your arms on the back of his neck and feeling how his longing gaze fixed on your lips. "mhm" he replied in the same tone you did, "all of the dresses look good on you, but this one..." changbin sighed with accelerated breath as he took a step back to admire your whole body "you look like a goddess".
a small smile appeared on your face as you felt changbin's embrace, his lips crashing into yours again on a sloppy but passional kiss "worship me then" you jokingly gasped in between kisses.
changbin's face froze a few centimeters away from yours while a smirk appeared in the corners of his lips "i was already planning on doing so".
one of his hands left the edge of your waist and traveled all the way to one of the pockets on his pants, pulling out a red little box. "what is that?" you asked in confusion, your heart skipping a beat or two while your face sank in the crook of his neck, kissing and softly biting his skin.
"my father helped arthur in choosing the wedding rings" changbin explained, making your whole body take a step back from him "so?" you replied.
"i saw something that reminded me of you" he said, offering you the tiny box.
with heavy breathing you accepted the gift, a little bit overwhelmed. a trail of thoughts were unraveling inside your mind: why did he buy something to me? and why is he giving it now in the middle of this? he took it to the event hall since he had it in his pocket, but what could it possibly be?
your fingers managed to remove the adhesive on each sides of the top, almost chuckling at the awkard silence that was formed with only the sounds of panting and heavy breathings filling the whole room.
it was a necklace.
an expensive one, if you dared to say.
"what is this for?" you inquired, holding the fine gold chain that had a medal with the face of an unknown person engraved in it "you saw a charm of a random man and thought of me?" you mocked him.
his fingers danced around the chain you were holding as he took it away from you, his body shortening the distance that was created a few seconds ago "i didn't say the necklace represented you" he mumbled as he hooked the necklace on your neck "think about what it really means".
your confused mind went blank as soon as you felt his lips peppering kisses on top of the chain and in your neck, softly biting and caressing the skin on your chest as he played with the charm. unconciously, your head fell slightly back to give him more access. "i don't get it" you moaned, feeling how his hands danced around your back while they slowly unzipped the dress.
"you will" he replied, his lips tracing your bare skin as you were undressing for him "does that feel good?"
"mhm" you chanted, feeling how the kisses he was leaving along your abdomen and thighs only made you wetter. your hands traveled to his hair, caressing it as your legs threatened to stop working at any second "funny how this is not the first time seeing you kneel in front of me" you joked, letting out a sigh when you felt the tip of his digits tracing the skin of your legs.
"i would be anytime on my knees for you, all you have to do is ask" changbin whispered.
the dress finally landed on your ankles and you stepped out of it to fully remove it, slightly smirking at the wise decision of wearing a fancy set of lingerie for the ocassion because, deep in your mind, you knew that this day was going to end up exactly like this: with you and changbin together.
changbin licked his lips while he admired your body from head to toes, his gaze fixing immediatly in yours. that gaze was exactly the one he had given you the first night you met him, and the first night you slept together. the gaze that, even though he had seen your naked body countless of times, was always present.
you couldn't help but squeeze your thighs together at the feeling of your cheeks burning in embarrassment "are you going to stay on your knees watching me all night?" you inquired, still working hard to keep the eye-contact even though your heart was probably going at a million miles per hour. the funniest part was that, even if you two had fucked a 100 times now, this time felt completely different. more concious, if you dared to say.
"this is my way of worshipping you" he said, his lips slightly parted as his hungrily gaze toured every inch of your skin "don't you like being admired?"
"i would prefer other ways of worshipping" you shyly teased in an attempt to relax yourself from the nerve-wrecking emotions you were starting to feel "let's say, a million dollars"
"if i could, i would buy you the entire world just for you to destroy it" he mumbled while caressing your legs and, with that statement, your heart started to feel as if it was sinking in your insides. the man who once represented everything you hated was kneeling in front of you and willing to act as you pleased, yet, that didn't meant anything. that didn't make you feel powerful.
what made you feel powerful was him. owning you.
a couple of seconds in silence passed by as you watched him in awe. he was sure of what he was doing because you couldn't catch a glimpse of hesitation in his eyes. if anything, his gaze was nothing but honest.
his lips lost no time in making contact with the skin of your legs again, leaving a trace of kisses in the opposite direction as before. "if i destroyed the whole world, you would be included there" you sighed, repressing a whine once you felt his teeth and lips softly marking the skin on your hips. "do it" he panted as his hands touched the soft lace beige panties you were wearing, his lips now focusing specially on the exposed skin of your breasts leaving kisses on your chest "i would bear it for you"
his lips crashed into yours once again, this time slower. his taste was intoxicating and, no matter how many times you kissed, you just couldn't get enough of it. his tongue grazed slightly against yours as he parted his lips more to softly bit on your lower lip. "can we take this somewhere else?" you asked in despair, mostly worried about the fact that your legs could give up any second now.
changbin made you feel things you hadn't experience before and, even though it frightened you to a certain extend, it made you curious. "you have been expecting this all night, haven't you?" he smirked against your lips.
"have you?" you replied, tilting your head. if there's one thing that you loved to do was to tease him by answering his questions with more questions. however, changbin couldn't stand that.
"yeah, i did" he muttered, his fingers playing with the strands of hair that fell all the way down the sides of your face "you have no idea all the things that crossed through my mind the moment i saw you standing next to the altar in the church"
you pushed his body slightly "you have such a perverted, unholy mind. can't even hold back in such a sacred place" you joked, feeling changbin's gaze dragging itself all over the features on your face.
"y/n, you are the only holy thing i would get on my knees for".
he had such a way with words, but the ones he was particularly chosing tonight made your heart feel a sincere warmth that you hadn't experience before.
and it was making you nervous.
"just take me before i regret this" you mumbled, your arms once again hooking behind changbin's neck. his body descended slightly and soon you felt his strong hands caressing the back of your thighs, inviting you to climb into his his body "do you regret any of this?" he asked.
your body was pressed against his as he carried you, your legs crossed and resting in his lower back. the way his arms wrapped around your fragile body reminded you how this was actually the first time you felt small.
you had always been the big girl. the big girl who had to deal with her abusive household, the big girl who had to defend her mother from her emotionally unstable father, the big girl who watched her mother go from man to man until she decided to settle, the big girl who was not allowed to ask for anything because life hadn't given her enough.
but as you smelled his scent and felt the warm of his built arms around your waist, the world started to feel big for a used soul like yours. you smiled with half-lidded eyes, your breath getting caught up in your throat.
"no" you whispered, your breathing mixing up with this.
"no?" he repeated, his hands playing with your back "that's it? you are not going to answer my question with another question?"
"no" you replied, shaking your head from side to side. one of his hands left your back to hold one side of your face, stroking slightly the soft skin of your cheeks.
your lips traveled once again to the crook of his neck once he started to walk with you to his room. with each step, your core rubbed against his clothed abdomen and you couldn't help but to let out small whimpers every time your bodies grazed together "so i assume you have been expecting this all night" he teased, his bulge growing every time he heard those sweet sounds escaping your lips.
you didn't reply but, instead, started to bite softly the skin of his neck as you felt his figure descending into the bed. his hands softly traveled to your back, unclenching the top part of your underwear as his digits traced the lace beige fabric on top of it "you wore this for me, right?" he inquired.
you gave him a soft smile "you will never know, changbin". as soon as you finished that sentence, you let out a small gasp when you felt his cold finger rings caressing your nipples as they got hard under his touch.
"i have always loved how sensitive you are" he muttered, pinching and stroking them ever so slightly. compared to other times, you could clearly see that changbin was holding back a lot of the instincts that usually arise from him during sex and, as much as you loved him being rough with you, you were curious as to what you could expect from him tonight.
he licked his lips before making contact with your hardened buds, earning a quiet moan from you as your head fell slightly back "does that feel good, y/n?"
you swallowed and nodded "mhm". the mixture between the feeling of his lips against your body and the sound of his voice pronunciating your name was something that you were definetly going to engrave in your mind forever "look at all the mess you are making in my lap" he muttered, your gaze falling on his black formal pants.
before you could apologize, his fingers traced your slit over your panties. he held his fingers coated with your escence that were glistening due to the light that emanated from the window and, without parting his eyes from yours, he licked your arousal off his digits. as you witnessed the scene, a spark of electricity traveled around your body and into your core.
"you always taste good" he whispered "you have a tight grip on me, do you know that?"
you tilted your head and smirked "is that a secret?" you inquired.
"i wish it wasn't" changbin replied as you felt a pinch in your heart. even though what happened in private with him was something good, it wasn't supposed to be happening at all and both of you knew it.
before any more words could be spilled between the two of you, you leaned in for another kiss. your hands toured his body desperately, helping him get rid of the clothes that were now the biggest obstacle between both of your bodies.
his chest and back were already decorated with a light layer of sweat and that only fed up the friction in between your bodies. the way your nipples rubbed against his chest every time you leaned in for a kiss had you on edge and moving your hips against his bulge, trying to let him know that you couldn't keep up with the foreplay anymore. "you can't wait?" you shook your head, the sound of your accelerated brething revealing what you couldn't put into words.
"turn around" he ordered, lifting up your legs from his lap as he was sitting at the edge of the bed. you got up from your previous seat and caught a glimpse of a big mirror that was strategically placed in front of you.
"you re-decorated your room?" you teased. last week you had been there but that mirror wasn't around.
"i have a lot of ideas, actually" he answered, his head rolled slightly back to see your figure standing in front of him. soon, you felt [and saw through the mirror] both of his hands bringing your body closer to his lap again, only this time you were facing the mirror instead of him. taking advantage of the position you were now in, he kissed the skin on your back as he managed to get you out of the last piece of clothing you were wearing.
"it isn't fair" you whined, looking at the mirror "i am naked and you still have your pants on"
changbin's eyes fixed on your reflection, admiring your body completely as if it was the first time he had seen it "you already made a mess on my lap, it's okay if you keep on doing it" he provoked.
his hands guided you to sit on him again, spreading your legs open in front of the mirror. you didn't really took the time to think this whole thing through but, as soon as you saw your core completely exposed and changbin's facial expressions as his hands toured your whole body, your cheeks turned completely bright red.
"what?" changbin asked, smiling every time you let out small gasps as his digits traced your slit, avoiding that place where you needed him the most "do you feel embarrassed?"
"i feel exposed" you answered back as you let out a faint laugh.
"look at yourself" he demanded against your skin, his eyes admiring your body as his digits made contact with your bundle of nerves that was pulsating with desire "look how beautiful you look for me".
even though your eyes wanted to shut close due to the pleasure and shame, you tried your best to appreciate your body under his hold "i can't believe you are completely mine" he groaned, his digits moving in circular motions against your clit making you moan.
"yours?" you asked in between sighs. changbin's gaze was darker than usual and that only made you clench harder against thin air. he smiled, again showing that cockiness you utterly hated.
without saying a word, he thrusted one of his digits inside you. you whined at the sensation, feeling again the coldness of his rings against your warm core "you want to know how i know that?" he inquired.
you moaned again when you felt the finger tips of his opposite hand brushing against your bud "look at me" he ordered, immediatly making you look for his dark gaze in the reflection of the mirror. after a few seconds, his face held a victorious smirk "your body sells you out every damn time, y/n". you licked your lips at the confusion, only to be interrupted by a loud moan once you felt the pace of his fingers inside you matching the one with his digits against your clit "the way you clench around my fingers only by looking at me betrays you"
"you are still this cocky, changbin?" you asked in between moans, your eyes fixed on the way changbin's figure took care of you.
"you are still lying, y/n?" he replied while leaving faint kisses against your shoulders. "you look so small underneath me, you know that?" all he got from an answer was a soft moan, but he still continued "look at how gorgeous your body looks when it's being touched by me"
your hands rested on your breasts as you twisted and pinched on your hardened nipples, the tension on your lower back increasing as well as the pleasure you were receiving. "you always take me so well, it makes me proud"
a small cry left your lips at his words, knowing that your whole body clenched around his finger tips harder than usual at the praise. he didn't say anything, but the smile that he had on his face revealed that he definetly felt it. "my y/n, there is not a part of you that i don't find pleasing"
his words, combined with his touch, were definetly sending you to cloud 9. by the way your whimpers were starting to sound and your hips desperately grinded against changbin's touch, he knew that you were close. "do you want to be good for me, huh?" he questioned, his eyes admiring the grimaces of pleasure you made.
"mhm" you moaned "please don't stop, changbin".
your head rested completely on his shoulder and, as much as changbin wanted you to look at yourself in the mirror, he noticed that the position was rather perfect to help you chase the orgasm that you dearly longed for. "even when you are like this" he whispered in your ear, the tingle of his hot breath against your skin making you squirm under his arms "too fucked out to even keep your eyes opened and too filthy to even be considered a saint, i think you are the most beautiful"
"changbin" you gasped loudly, your back arching your back as it withdrew from his chest, your juices coating completely his fingertips "that's my good girl" he grunted, feeling how your walls violently clenched around his digits "you are doing so well, y/n"
again, you clenched even harder at his words once you reached the highest point of your orgasm. your eyes were completely shut that you swore you could see a night sky filled with starts, the sensations of pleasure wrapping every single part of your body as the only thing you could think of was changbin.
"thank you" you whispered with broken words and teary eyes due to the overwhelming sensation you just had experience. even though you had cum countless of times with him, this one felt different.
"you took me well" changbin replied, peppering kisses in your cheek as your breathing stabilize itself. this was not his usual self, but you would be lying if you said that you didn't like it.
as soon as you reincorporated on his lap, you saw your reflection in the mirror and a smile appeared across your face. your messy hair, your rosy cheeks decorated with tears and your still trembling body that was being roughly held by changbin's arms was such a sight you would never forget.
"come here" he said, getting you up from his lap as he stood from the bed too. with swift movements, he unbuckled his belt and got rid of the remaining clothes in his body. you couldn't really help but to stare at him, his soft caramel skin and the way his veins stood out in his arms was something that had always drive you insane.
carefully, his hands guided you to rest your back on the soft mattress, feeling a sensation of comfort as soon as you smelled the bed-sheets that had their scent imprinted all over them. "what else are you going to do to praise me?" you joked.
he leaned in to start kissing your chest and breasts while your legs automatically hooking around his waist and resting on his lower back "see how your body reacts to me" he groaned, biting softly your skin without too much strength since pain was not something he wanted to inflict on you today.
with eagerness, you squeezed your legs again around him, his cock making casual contact against your wet core "do you want me?" he asked.
you looked at him with lustful eyes as he rested his body on his forearms, and you couldn't help but smile. "i am here, that should tell you everything you need to know"
changbin's gaze fixed on the necklace he had given you a few minutes before and started peppering kisses against your skin, but he didn't reply anything to that.
one of his hands guided his cock inside you, letting out a groan once he felt your tight warm walls welcoming him "you always makes me feel so good" he panted, melting at the sweet sound of your moans.
his pace was slow and more delicate than usual, but you couldn't deny that you loved it. the way his hips softly slammed into yours while his pubis brushed against your clit with every thrust had you seeing stars "fuck changbin" you cried.
"you are doing good, y/n" he reassured, both of his hands looking out for yours as he placed them on either sides of your head "your pretty body can take my cock so well"
once again, you clenched at his words "you like that, don't you?" he whispered.
"mhm" you hummed "your voice..." a small whimper left your lips when you felt his pace increasing, but the softness of each thrust was still there "i love it when you talk to me like that"
"yeah?" he asked, almost in a chanting manner "do you like it when i tell you how good your body reacts to me, y/n?"
you squeezed your legs together once again, forcing changbin deeper into your tight cunt "fuck, yes".
the way he was holding your hands as he pounded you was something you found oddly intimate, but you liked it. this felt more than a casual session of sex, but you couldn't quite understand what was the thing that made it different tonight.
"changbin" you whimpered.
"yeah, baby?"
"no one has ever made this feel good before" you admitted, melting at his gaze. "god, you feel so good inside me"
"i know, princess" he replied with a heavy groan, leaning further to place a kiss on your forehead "no one can make you feel like i do".
both of your bodies were tired, but the passion and intimacy that was built inside that room was something that you two had never experience before. the way his breathing was getting caught up in his throat and the way your whines and moans were starting to sound louder than before only indicated that the both of you were ready to let go.
and all of the sudden, an unconcious sentence left your lips in the middle of the intimacy
"don't leave me".
changbin's body slightly tensed up at your words and you cursed yourself mentally for saying such a thing out loud. however, his gaze transmitted you some sort of comfort "i'm here, i'm not going anywhere".
his lips approached yours in a kiss, repressing every single pant or moan that you two could possibly emit. the pace on his hips increased too, desperate to make you feel completely good "i am so close changbin"
he let go of one of your hands as his digits found your bundle of nerves again, rubbing it just like before and adjusting the pace of each thrust to make sure you were getting nothing but pleasure. your back arched once again, your chest rising to meet his body.
"you are so precious" he moaned "i can never forget the image of you cuming all over my cock"
again, the knot unraveled at his words. both of your arms hooked around his shoulders and back as you held his body tightly, your finger nails sinking into his skin as he cursed under his breath due to the pain. "please cum inside me" you pleaded in a broken whisper "i need you to fill me up"
those words were the push he needed to let go as well, painting your inner walls white as he held your trembling body tightly "y/n" he moaned, feeling how your hips grinded involuntarily against him in an attempt to get him deeper "you are such a goddess".
a smile appeared into your face as your eyes found his again. "i know, you told me that before"
"i will never get tired of telling you"
after some time and few attempts to catch his breath, changbin got up from his bed and looked for a towel to clean the mess he had made in you. while he did that, you laid down thinking about everything that had happen: everything he said, everything you did, the necklace and the eerie sensations you felt throughout the night.
but since you had promised yourself to let go for the night, you tried to push all those feelings away from your own good.
"do you want to take a bath?" he asked as he dragged the towel along your inner thighs.
"i want to sleep" you admitted.
"with me?" he teased "are you really planning on giving me the honor?"
"don't make me regret it, fuck"
and just with those words, he got into his own bed with you. the warmth of his body was familiar to you, but you had never felt it like this before. your body curled up against his while your face rested on his chest, noticing how it went up and down every once in a while.
"achilles" he mumbled out of nowhere.
"huh?" you asked in confusion, your head separating from his chest so you could look at his eyes.
"think about it"
but you didn't want to think about anything. you just wanted to sleep next to him, feel his body leaning against yours while you felt his embrace throughout the night.
"maybe later" you replied, yawning. your head once again fell into his chest and changbin couldn't help but smile.
even though he was a succesful man at such a young age, this was the very first time he ever felt lucky and fortunate. and even though you slept safe and sound next to him, he spent the whole night thinking about the words that left your lips.
please don't leave me.
*
the next morning, changbin dropped you at arthur's house with the promise of taking you out for dinner later that day. even when you refused twice, changbin ended up convincing you. you wanted to go, but the rational part of your brain kept trying to contradict you.
you stepped into the house wearing the same clothes as yesterday, only now you were wearing a new accessory gifted by no other than seo changbin. achilles, you thought as you closed the front door.
you were exhausted from last night and, at this point, all you wanted to do was to run upstairs and into your bed. as you walked through the hall, a small smile escaped from your lips by recalling the events of the previous night.
"y/n" a voice interrupted, making you turn around in your heels.
"you got married yesterday" you mumbled, looking at the figure of arthur standing outside of his studio-office-whatever the fuck that room was. "aren't you supposed to be at your honey moon by now?"
"care to explain this?" he inquired, completely ignoring you or what you said. as he held his cellphone in front of you, your body turned into ice and your knees felt extremely weak.
"what are you doing with that?" you asked, defensive. as he swiped through his gallery, things got worse and worse.
"better yet, what are you doing with him?" he replied "i can finally see what your mother taught you"
"this isn't about her so don't even dare to bring up her name" you snapped back "how did you get those pictures?"
"changbin, really?" he frowned his eyebrows, "i really thought he would be interested in... any other kind of woman"
"what i do or not do is none of your business" you muttered, looking directly at the series of pictures that captured the moment you and changbin left the event hall, kissing and fooling with each other.
"he is a smart man, y/n" arthur intervened "if he hasn't realized that you are no good for him by now, he will". tears started to prick into the corners of your eyes, but you would be damned if you let him see you in a vulnerable state "do you love him?" he asked with a tint of smugness in his words.
you didn't reply.
"even if you just appreciate him as a...." he looked at you and then at the cellphone, in dispair "friend, i would reccomend you to be the bigger person here and just stay away from him"
"this isn't your call to make, arthur" you groaned "stop trying to control everyone else's lives just because you couldn't control mine or hyejin's.
"i am not sure if you are aware, y/n" he said, walking around you and into the hall "but the wealth of changbin's family depends on me". you crossed your arms, still trying to think about anything that would stop you from crying in front of your father "do you really want him to throw all the effort he has made throughout his life just for a whim of yours?"
you bit your lower lip.
"i am going to be in europe for two weeks" he added as he signaled a bunch of suitcases that were by the door "i want you out of korea by then, since you only came here for the wedding". he approached you with careful steps as his rough fingers held the necklace changbin had given you the night before "i want you out of his life too, for good. he has a commitment with me and the company, and i don't want you intervening in that"
he looked at the charm and then at you as you stood there completely frozen "i truly hope you had enjoy your time here in korea" he added with a bright, cynical smile as he walked to the suitcases.
it wasn't until you heard the front door going off that you started sobbing uncontrollably in the living room floor.
you had ruined everything, and you had ruined it big time.
what started as a game to get back at your own father ended up being an emotional set up for you, and you were not sure how to fix it.

Chase You/Chase Me (Pt. 4)
Part 4: The truth will never lie to me
Catch up here: Series Masterlist
Chapter Summary: Trapped in a conference, Gabe and Alex bask in the afterglow of their interrupted moment by the lake. But before Alex can fully comprehend how she felt, she unravels a truth that may cease the chase altogether.
Book/Pairing: Choices - Laws of Attraction / Gabe Ricci x MC (Alex Keating)
Words: 1.8k+
Rating/Warnings: Mature (16+) / alcohol consumption, language, implied sexual content. Reader discretion advised.
Author's Notes: Surprise! Yep, it's an early release! I made revisions to fit the ongoing narrative and ended up breaking it down into two parts. Also, this series may span longer than I originally intended it to be, not wanting to rush things. It will probably extend until Part 7, depending on what happens at the finale. I do hope you'll still stick around. If not, I'll totally understand. 😉
Disclaimer: Most of the characters as well as some dialogue belong to Pixelberry. I am merely borrowing them.
Tumblr media
Late night, Boston
Shoe laces, cool wind and the darkness of the forest enveloping them. His breath shuddering with how close her lips was. His throat running dry.
Wanting, longing.
Just a little taste to find out how intoxicatingly delicious those cherry lips would be in his mouth and to feel the heat of her body against his.
And then a splash.
Gabe blinked as he felt ice cold liquid pouring over his crisp white shirt. He wasn't sure if he was having déjà vu.
"Oh, sorry mate," a man standing nearby had bumped into him, making the glass of scotch he was drinking shake and spill into his impeccable suit. He forced down the tasteless curse words forming in his mouth, groaning in frustration at the dissipating sensations from what he had been imagining.
His mind was stuck in an endless loop, replaying the romantic encounter with Alex just the night before. But very much like after Beau's dive into the lake, his consciousness whipped achingly back to reality.
Gabe was leaning on the mobile bar, set in the middle of the conference reception. Did he just lose himself in a daydream like a fool? He wondered, murmuring through his madness.
The time alone with her provided him a glimpse of what could be between them. And oh how euphoric it had been to have her so near, to watch his body respond to her like no other.
It left him just craving for more.
He was lying to himself if he continued to deny that he has feelings for Alex, and how deep he was already in for her. But he knew it wasn't meant to be, at least until after he admits the truth. Until then, he had to pull away.
Easier said than done.
For now, he settled for a view of her, his eyes scoured the room for the subject of his fancy. When he found her, Gabe couldn't stop his smile and the fluttering of his heart, or the warmth growing between his legs.
There she was, in the far side of the room, shining brighter than any star that they had seen in the night sky. Her audience completely captivated as he was with her.
The sight of her in that blue dress swept Gabe back into his fantasies, and how infuriatingly near he was to giving into them. He had to clench his fist around his tumbler, suppressing any trace of his earlier wild thoughts.
Apparently sensing the weight of his gaze, Alex turned to him, their eyes meeting in silent conversation. He watched as she excused herself before making her way towards where he sat.
Half-smiling, Alex's confident expression as she approached him made him swallow hard.
Gabe summoned all his willpower to rein himself in as she got closer. He plastered his usual cocky smile, once again putting up a wall of professionalism. They were in a conference, he reasoned.
"Still watching your wards, old man?" Alex chuckled as she reached a seat beside him.
"Working the room like a pro like that? Very hard to ignore," Gabe interjected, shaking his head. "Had to say Alex, I'm impressed."
"Glad you noticed," she smiled, clearly enjoying the compliment.
"Frankly, you charming the top tier lawyers were hard to miss," he said, with lips quirking into a grin.
"Were you watching the whole time?" she asked.
"Difficult not to, seeing how you're the best-dressed lawyer in the room," he continued, savoring the easy conversation.
She scoffed before turning around, grabbing a napkin from a bartender. Alex offered it to him, pointing at the light stain on his clothes.
He finally muttered a curse, realizing he had been too distracted not to notice the result of the spillage from his own drink. This was one of my best suits.
Gabe almost jumped when Alex started to wipe the front of his suit.
His eyes narrowed, unable to process what was happening. On impulse, he reached out to her, encircling his palms around her wrist. Alex snapped her head up at the touch, the intensity of her gaze enchanting him.
It took all of his strength to break free from it. He cleared his throat and looked away, before grabbing the napkin from her grasp without warning.
It had always been like this. At first, there was this fluidity, a natural attraction between them while they interacted. Then another goddamn minute passes and it all becomes downright complicated.
Gabe wasn't having it.
He briefly shut his eyes closed and released the breath he was holding. When he opened them, he focused his attention on wiping the stain from his jacket, avoiding Alex's questioning gaze. He decided to divert the conversation, robbing her of any opportunity to re-capture him in a trance.
"Don't worry, I don't judge potential partners solely on congeniality. Though I can't speak for Sadie." He then turned and discarded the cloth on the bar. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'll have to speak to a friend who I'm sure will be thrilled to know I'm now a partner."
He finally dared to look at Alex with almost apologetic eyes, before swiftly walking away towards a sea of unfamiliar faces.
Alex was left gaping at his hasty departure, uncertain how it all went south so quickly. She wanted to grab his arm and pull him to her so badly, to pick things up from where they left off last night. From that moment when his lips was inches away from taking hers, before they were interrupted.
Her body ached to be near him. Then again, that's not how she usually operates, so she let him be.
She had never thought her idol was such a tease. Or perhaps, traditional? Alex snickered. Oh how I'll make you beg, Gabriel Ricci. She exhaled, the sultry thought of the man on his knees in front of her suddenly hiking up the temperature in the room. Alex had to fan herself to cool down.
Along with the idea of finally spending some alone time together, conjuring the image of waking up beside Gabe excited her. Well, if ever this chase between them actually culminates to something.
But why was she following this trail of thought? In all her conquests, she had never stayed for what came after. She had that with Julian, and look how that ended. For her, it was always just for the fun. So why does she suddenly liked the notion with Gabe? She shuddered. Ugh, weird.
Maybe it's because it's taking the long game with him? Alex didn't want to know.
Leaving that for now, she resorted to ordering another shot of patron to drown the remnants of her heated thoughts. On her third glass, Alex heard a familiar voice ordering a shot of bourbon. She swiveled towards it and caught sight of Lina Reyes, the opposing lawyer from the Willow case.
"Fancy meeting you here," Alex smiled lazily, remembering how temptingly attractive she was. She also recalled the offer of a hook-up, which she politely declined out of courtesy.
But now, seems like she's getting another chance. And with Gabe being annoyingly hard to get, Alex had to have fun somewhere else. It's not like she and Gabe was committed, right?
Lina scooted closer to her, smelling of a heady mix of alcohol. "Speaking of fancy, damn. You look more incredible than I can remember, Alex," she teased, provocatively arching her brows at her.
Alex quickly picked up Lina's attempt to flirt, stoking her bruised ego. "Gotta be dressed to impress, right?" she waved her fingers as if in curtsy. "Enjoying the conference?"
"At this point, things tend to devolve quickly. But I do plan to have a nightcap back in my room," Lina smirked, Alex feeling the heel of velvet pumps brushing along her bare leg. "Maybe you could join me?"
The woman wasn't exactly subtle, though Alex had to give props to her for her confidence. She liked that in anyone. So Alex returned the gesture, letting her fingers hover an inch over her arm while batting her eyelashes. Two can play that game.
"I think we should stay here."
Wait, what? Did she just say no? Subconsciously? Did hell just freeze over? Or did her brain left her head?
Both women blinked, unable to determine who's more mortified between them. They were both quiet, until Lina broke the awkwardness by a chuckle.
"Had to try, didn't expect I'd be turned down twice," she said consuming the rest of her drink in one gulp. "Worth it though." she shrugged, ordering another round for herself.
Alex struggled to compose herself, brows furrowed in confusion by how that went down.
"Oh don't be so bothered, you're not my first rodeo." Lina poked at her jokingly, clearing up the air. Alex thanked her, and the conversation went smoothly from there.
Several more drinks in, the two women chatted on, venturing into a variety of topics in law and in love. It didn't take long before Lina started to slur in her words, to which Alex found amusing.
"Looks like someone didn't pace herself," she observed as she sipped her cocktail.
"Ah don't mind me, had to cleanse my palate after all the boring sessions earlier," Lina toasted her glass on hers, wobbling as she shifted to face her. "We are a rare breed, us fighters," she leaned towards Alex, lowering her voice to a whisper. "We like-minded women should just stick together, you know?"
Alex was relieved she turned her down the second time. Barely listening to her, she started to drift off as Lina continued rambling on, turning around to face the crowds as her eyes tried to locate that handsome man. Alex smirked when she found Gabe's sexy outline.
"Lot of ungrateful dipshits being freed from prison, even after we work our asses off proving they deserved an earlier release. Khan, Kozlowski, those celebrities involved with the Ivy League admission scandal? Hell, even small town criminal Cornell was released in the last five years alone!"
And with that last statement, Alex froze. "Say that again?"
Confused, Lina stuttered as if she can't remember what she was saying. To Alex's annoyance, she went silent, apparent that more humiliation was on the way. Lina abruptly stood, covering her mouth with her hand as she sprinted to the bathroom. Alex let her pass.
Assured that she'll be fine with her colleagues flanking her, Alex started to obsess over Lina's last sentence.
Was that just the patron? Or am I getting too drunk and starting to hear things? She asked herself, bewildered at how randomly Lina mentioned a Cornell.
With an exasperated sigh, she decided it wouldn't hurt to check. She pulled out her phone from her purse and fired up a search engine, where she typed in the godforsaken name. Alex tapped enter.
As soon as the results loaded, she felt the world crumble beneath her.
No, no, no, no, no. This fucking didn't happen.
She clicked on one of the articles from a local news outlet. The picture beneath the headline shoving her nightmares front and center. There it was, the title written in bold stated loud and clear: Cornell Son Gets Early Release.
Alex bit her lip as she fought to gather herself together, speed reading through the article. This was definitely a surprise, but what really got her reeling was the figure of a man walking behind Maximilian. She'd pick up who that was from anywhere within a mile radius.
Alex tried to keep herself rational, but the shock rippled through her, enough to shake off the alcohol in her system. And why did her stomach churned like she was punched in the gut a hundred times over? Why did she felt fucking betrayed?
Unexpectedly, she knew it wasn't discovering Cornell was now walking freely in the streets.
Deep down, Alex was aware it was because Gabe Ricci was involved. Either way, it looks like her high and mighty boss has some explaining to do.
Her blood boiled, a myriad of questions went through her mind. Resolute, she wanted those damn questions answered. Tonight.
She downed her drink and slammed the empty glass on the bar, sending a text to draw Gabe's attention.
She looked over where he stood, watching the frown in his face as he read her message. She clicked her head, beckoning him outside.
Even he can't fathom the fire storm that was about to come his way.

if you arent too busy, can you write a idol!hwasa x idol!reader, wherein they both have to practice with each other for a special stage. However on the first meeting they become starstruck and cant believe somethings are real, but soon warm up to each other?
i'm not terribly busy but this still took a while anyway oops - sorry this took so long anon! here you go :D
if anyone has requests for the other members hmu cuz I've got 2 more hyejin reqs after this one (not that I'm complaining)
Tumblr media
"who says we can't do something on our own?"
(hwasa x idol!reader, ~1.2k words)
cw: food + alcohol mention (y'all know how it is)
I named someone Minjeong - it's not Aespa's Winter, idk anything about 4th gen gg's - 민정 is my Korean name so it's just what came to mind
"Hey, wake up. You've gotta see this. GET UP," a voice piercing through the fog of your sleep.
What a rude awakening. Your shoulders being shaken vigorously by a pair of small hands meant they belonged to none other than Minjeong, your youngest group member. You rolled over to glare menacingly at her with one eye open, trying to pull your brain out of the slumber. All you could see was the bright light of her phone shining in your eyes - a video of some kind. But then you heard the audio:
"Have you seen the clip?" asked the interviewer.
"Yes, my members and many MooMoos made sure I saw it"— Moos? Oh, it's Hwasa. WAIT. Both your eyes flew open as you sat up and snatched Jeongie's phone out of her hand to stare at the video. Your mind immediately flashed back to the interview you did last week - they asked who you most wanted to collaborate with, if there were no limitations. Your ears started to heat up at the sheer thought of the flustered mess of an answer you gave - of course you said Hwasa. Both of you debuted relatively close to each other, within a year, but never interacted much over the years. Mamamoo as a group was a force to be reckoned with, but there was just something about Hwasa specifically. You mostly just admired her unique singing voice and undeniable stage presence, and her relentless drive to always be herself in an industry constantly trying to fit women into a box.
Finally snapping out of re-living that embarrassment, your attention turned back to the phone in your hand. The interviewer must've asked her to send a message in response to you, because you couldn't believe that she was waving and saying, "How haven't we gotten to know each other better over all these years? I'd love to work with you on something sometime," curtly dipping her head in a slight bow.
"SEE? You needed to see that," Minjeong rushed to say, full of energy. "And close your mouth, your jaw's on the floor," jokingly pointing.
You side-eyed her and shut your mouth. "Is this what Loco felt like when she called him during Hyena on the Keyboard?" you wondered aloud.
"At least she's not calling you while on camera," she commented, knowing full well that you'd probably embarrass yourself again if she did. "But hey, at least she noticed you! Can I have my phone back now?" It would be a dream come true to collaborate with her, but cross-company collabs... always a pain. that couldn't be helped. The fantasy abruptly ended with demands from your rumbling stomach. Done with your what-if's, you placed the phone back in your maknae's outstretched hand to get up and make breakfast.
~~~~
With award show season rolling around, the crazy scramble of rehearsing for special live stages without leaking sets and collabs began. Checking your email that morning showed a schedule to record the backing track for a special live stage, but that was it. With who? You texted your members a screenshot, but they all told you that block of time in their schedule was empty. A solo stage? The solo mini-album you released this cycle did relatively well, the title track got a music show win, but not a multi-week chart-topper by any means. Possibilities turning over in your mind, you stepped out from your place to head to the company, totally in the dark about what was in store.
The recording studio always smelled the same along with the couches, a comfort for all the insanely long nights and crack-of-dawn early mornings over the years. With a bit of time to kill, you plopped down on one and gingerly patted the worn cushions as some kind of symbolic thank-you for supporting you (literally).
A hesitant but loud knock sent your gaze directly to the door. Watching it slowly open, you leaned forward to see who it was. Needless to say, your jaw fell to the floor again as you clapped a hand over your gaping mouth, eyes widening. Like a soldier obeying a command, you immediately stood up as straight as possible and bowed profusely at Hwasa, sporting a very similar expression on her face (which you failed to notice, your mind running a million miles a minute).
After a series of frantic bows and miscellaneous utterances to each other, she spoke. "It's nice to finally meet you," she said with calm, surveying your frenzied state. "I guess we're granting that collab wish from your interview, huh?"
The red-hot embarrassment leapt to your face. "I...I definitely made a fool of myself answering that question. And our maknae showed me your interview clip too, which was cool, but never did I think it would actually happen," you stammered. I should probably stop talking.
"Well, here I am," she half-smiled coolly. "Let's get started, I'm really looking forward to finally work with you on this," a gleam in her eye and a hint of excitement in her voice.
The studio suddenly felt a lot smaller with her in it, despite there only being your managers, the producer, and the both of you - less people than you and your members alone. Both of you remained relatively quiet the whole time, rather unsure of what to say or talk about. You watched enough MMMTV to know that all the members on their own were shyer than together, and Hwasa knew the same was true for you. But the work basically took care of itself, seamlessly taking turns in the recording booth, witnessing each other's work style and process. The both of you knew your way in front of a mic, seasoned professionals by now. Upon wrapping up, you bowed politely to each other after a quick exchange of KaTalk info, a short and sweet goodbye.
That was... anticlimactic. I mean, it's finally happening - I can't believe it. But maybe I was too idealistic about maybe creating a meaningful relationship with her outside of work... What does she think of me?
~~~~
In the days leading up to the collab stage, you kept going back and forth on whether to reach out or not, despite now being in possession of her contact info. What would you even say? Thoughts of a witty one-liner or relatable meme came to mind, but maybe she'd assume the worst - that you were clout-chasing, or something. Anxieties abuzz, your phone vibrated in your pocket. The KaTalk notification sprawled across your screen. Speak of the devil, it's her.
"Hey, awards season has me stressed. I know you must pretty busy right now too, but I somehow get off early tomorrow if you wanna grab dinner after work?" You had to reread that one. Oh, what? She's inviting me?
Trying not to be weird about responding too quickly, you typed out, "Wow, yeah, that sounds great! ^^ wait, your company doesn't care about you going out to eat during award season?"
"nah, they stopped having that kind of control over us a while ago, we are the money-maker of the company, after all 😏"
"so I guess this means they don't check your phone either ㅋㅋ"
"nope :)"
You proceeded to set a time and place to meet, someplace with meat.
In the process of feasting on an inordinate amount of gopchang imbued with a splash of beer, you learned a fair amount about each other. You talked career, professional aspirations, the weird habits of your members, and more. What surprised you most was the amount of things she already knew about you, having admitted to watching some of your behind-the-scenes content after seeing your interview clip.
"Ah... I'm sorry if I came across as distant during that first recording session," she confessed, pausing to sip her beer. "I honestly didn't know what to do with myself, I felt a little star-struck."
"Oh what?? I felt the exact same, so no worries - and sorry if I came off similarly distant," you rambled back. A bit of silence fell between you, acknowledging the mutual sentiment. You spoke up after a bit, "Thanks for inviting me out tonight, I didn't realize how much I needed this."
"Thank you for making the time, I had fun getting to know you better," she articulated with a smile. "Maybe it'll make the collab stage better," she added on jokingly. You responded with a nod and expression of mutual affirmation.
~~~~
After that, messaging each other became a regular occurrence, that gopchang outing having broken the ice. Honestly, you tried your best to talk about anything besides work, but the baseline of shared understanding connected you in a way that came more naturally than it did with your non idol friends.
You stood across the way from her at the sound check for the final stage, dressed in joggers and slides. Funny to think that you'd be recording this for real in a couple hours, making eyes with the blinking red light on the cameras surrounding you. It sucks that fans wouldn't get to experience the energy and atmosphere of the performance - Hyejin alone is one thing, but adding someone else into her stage presence? Unmatched. There's nothing quite like a live performance - and while you knew everyone in the industry dealt with the consequences of the pandemic, it certainly took a toll to perform and not feel the energy from fans. But realistically, nothing you could do about it. The sound check went over smooth like butter. The stage chemistry came flowing naturally between you both, even when bare-faced and dressed in just sweats.
And when the time came for the actual filming, you both absolutely killed it, an upbeat mash-up of TWIT and your title track. At the very end came a sliver of hesitation before throwing your arms around each other with a big smile for the ending fairy, proud of the work you accomplished together, and a mental fist-pump to yourself for making friends with one of the industry's finest.
Once again walking to a restaurant that served mostly meat to celebrate, you playfully proposed, "We... should do that again sometime." A little puff of air came out her nose in amusement.
"Yeah, we should. Too bad we're gonna have to wait a whole cycle before we can release anything else together again," she sighed longingly.
"Who says we can't do something on our own?"
Don’t Hold Me -19- Carter Hart
Tumblr media
A/N: as always, all previous parts are linked in my master list. Also, umm don’t hate me for what happens at the very end. MENTIONS OF VIOLENCE  at the end as well, so if that could potently be triggering for you please be warned.
There was a moment, right when you first opened your eyes that you could’ve sworn you were a teenager again. You could hear Travis arguing with Ethan just feet from you, with the sound of someone playing NHL in the background. You felt so warm due to a blanket that someone had to have tossed over you at some point during the night. You wondered if you would see your house when you opened your eyes.
But there was an arm wrapped around you. So you couldn’t be at home. You were in Travis’s apartment. Ethan came in to help you and Kora move all of your things into a storage unit for the summer. He was going to stay for part of the playoffs. Carter was sleeping next to you. You’d both fallen asleep during a movie.
You wiggled out from under Carter’s arm, following the sound of the voices to the kitchen. Kora, who still looked half asleep, was tucked under Ethan’s arm. Nolan was playing NHL in the living room, yelling at one of the other Flyers through a headset. In your gut, you knew this was what a normal morning with them. This is what life should be like.
“Y/N! Tell him that he’s wrong!” Travis begged, pointing to Ethan.
You shook your head, still too tired to even start to get into their mess, “Please tell me someone made coffee?”
Kora stepped away from E, “I’ll pour you a cup.”
“Carter still knocked out?” Ethan asked as you sat down on one of the bar stools.
“Yeah, you two arguing woke me up,” You responded slowly, “What were you two arguing over anyway?”
“Don’t ask,” Kora handed you a cup of coffee, “They’re being guys.”
“They’re arguing over who had more points when they played together,” Nolan announced from the couch.
“Oh, that’s easy, it was Ethan,” You shrugged, “Travis had the most penalty minutes.”
Kora had to hold back a laugh at the face that Travis made. Truth was, although Travis was an incredible player, even then, he was still very scrappy. He made a lot of bad plays and often let his head get the better of him. Ethan was always more level headed, and was responsible for more than his fair share of assists. But when the two of them were on the ice together, nothing was going to stop them. You missed watching them together like that.
“Someone had to do all the dirty work,” Travis explained, “But I don’t get that many penalties now.”
Kora reached over and messed up his hair, “No, you behave now. Like a good little feisty Canadian.”
“Careful, he bites when provoked,” Carter joked, finally seeming to have woken up.
“Better watch it, we have practice in a couple of hours, I won’t take it easy on you,” Travis warned.
“Okay Teeks, sure,” Carter kissed the top of your head, “Morning babe.”
You felt your cheeks heat up a little as you tilted your head to look up at him. This was something you could really get used to, all of you being together like this. You and Kora had to move out of the dorm, since the year was finally over. So Travis was letting her and Ethan crash at his place, while you stayed with Carter. Although, last night all of you ended up over here to watch movies and eat pizza. Nolan casually reminded everyone that pizza was not a part of the approved playoff diet.
“Sleep okay?” Carter asked you, taking a sip of your coffee.
You nodded and leaned back into him, “Out like a light.”
Carter wrapped his arms around you, dropping his head so his chin rested on your shoulder. His hair tickled your cheek, causing you to smile. Across from you, both Ethan and Travis were watching you with the same sort of fond smile.
Kora looked between the two other men, “Just say it, they’re cute,” She huffed, “Nolan, you wanna play me?”
“I’d like to see what you’re made of,” Nolan replied, holding up an extra controller.
The following night, you, Kora, and Ethan file into the arena, ready for the next game in the series. Carter was starting in net tonight, and Travis literally wouldn’t stop bouncing all day long. You made a joke that someone needed to take out his batteries. Kora held onto Ethan, smiling as random Flyers fans high fived each other for wearing jerseys.
“Now this is a good way to celebrate another year of hell being over,” Kora joked, “We’re all drinking tonight, right?”
“You two can have all you’d like,” E told us, “I’ll be semi sober so I can take care of both of you.”
Kora looked up at him in a way that you could only describe as love. It was weird, seeing your best friend and your brother like that. Yet, it made you happy at the same time. You liked the idea of them being happy together, come what may.
“We should get to our seats,” You told them, “Drinks later.”
“I’m going to be the only one getting drunk tonight, aren’t I?” Kora questioned.
Both you and Ethan laughed, knowing you weren’t going to have more than a drink, maybe two. The only time you ever really got drunk was with Kora, but you wanted to be sober for this. You wanted to watch every second as the game unfolded. You wanted to be able to run to Carter and hold him after the game was over, because who knew how many more times you could do that.
Kora leaned over to you once you were all in your seats, “You have that look again, are you okay?”
You forced a smile and tried to push away the sudden sickening feeling you had in your stomach, “yeah, I’m fine.”
But you couldn’t shake the sudden feeling that you shouldn’t have come tonight. That you should’ve watched from Carter’s apartment. But you hadn’t missed a home game almost all season, and you certainly weren’t going to miss a playoff game.
Yet, every ounce of you was screaming to run, to get away while you still could. But you knew you were safe, Zachary wouldn’t dare come near you while Ethan was here. He wouldn’t really do anything in the arena, where all of the security knew you by now. You were safe here.
You tugged on the sleeves of your jersey, pulling them down so they covered your hands. You couldn’t help the little shiver that went through you. So instead, you pulled out your phone and looked at the last text Carter sent you, vowing to win since everyone was here. Your eyes seemed to stay glued to the part where he said he loved you and he loved knowing that you were wearing his jersey.
Although he laughed about it at first, somehow knowing that the jersey on your back was actually his old one, and not just one you got from the team store, made him feel different. Like you were really shouting to everyone that you were his, and he was yours. He often chirped some of the other guys about their relationships, but that all stopped when he realized how much he loved you.
Because the truth of it was, Carter could see a whole life with you. An entire future that was so bright and full of love and happiness. He hadn’t told you that yet, mainly because he didn’t want to scare you. But he wanted everything with you. He wanted a ring on your finger, you walking down an aisle all in white, maybe a couple of kids in a house outside the city one day. But for now...for now he was just happy knowing you had on his jersey while you watched him play.
You hold tightly onto Kora’s hand as the clock ticks down. Carter was so close to a shutout. How often could you say that your boyfriend got a shutout during the Stanley Cup playoffs? You were so sure that your heart would beat right out of your chest. Even E seemed to literally be on the edge of his seat.
Sure they were still a few games off from winning the series, but this would really tip the scales in their favor. For the first time you actually let yourself think about it. About what it would mean for Travis, Nolan, and for Carter. You could almost picture them hoisting the cup. Could almost see yourself on the ice with everyone, laughing as Travis attacked you. You could almost see all of it. You could almost see all of the things you hadn’t allowed yourself to want.
The arena erupted, fans were yelling so loudly you swore your ears were going to be rining for days. You’d even lost your own voice sometime during the second period. You spent the whole game engaging with everyone in the arena. You hadn’t experienced energy like that in years. You were almost willing to bet that you felt the same level of adrenaline as the team did. Honestly, you’d probably be just as amped up as Carter when you got home.
“He did it,” Ethan marveled over the roar of the arena, “He fucking did it.”
Kora nearly jumped on your shoulders, “My best friend is dating a goal god!”
You were in a state of shock right up until the time you saw Carter after the game. Then it was like everything kicked into high gear and you ran to him, you even jumped so he had to catch you. A couple other members of the team whistled jokingly as you kissed him.
“You did so good.”
Maybe it was the bit of alcohol in your system, or the adrenaline from the game. But you seemed to forget every little problem you had. You forgot about Zachary, and the impossible decision that lurked there. Or the fact that you still had to pick who you were going to spend the summer with, if anyone. You forgot about all of it. All you wanted to do was be with all of them.
“Damn you look good tonight,” Carter joked, tugging on his jersey.
“We should go out. All of us,” You told Carter excitedly, “Like go get drinks or something.”
“You want to go out?” Carter asked, surprised that you were the one to even bring it up.
“I feel like dancing and having fun. Finals are over, you just fucking owned the net. C’mon, please?”
“Hartsy take the girl out,” Kevin Hayes chirped.
Carter smiled and kissed you again, “Well, let’s go out then.”
So that's what you did. All of you filed into some club that Travis knew about. You weren’t really dressed for it, although you did have a nice top on under the jersey, but you didn’t care. Not as the music seemed to fill your soul as you held onto Carter. He laughed and danced with you, both of you seeming to forget everything.
Ethan watched as you let go. He and Travis just looked at each other and smiled. Neither of them had seen this side of you since you were in high school, before Zachary broke so much of you. Ethan felt himself relax the more you seemed to smile and come alive. Kora soon pulled Ethan and Travis both onto the dance floor, insisting that all of you be together.
Hours later, so late in fact that you were pretty sure it was morning, you and Carter were slowly making your way towards his building. Ethan, Kora, and Travis all split off a while ago so they could go back to Travis’ place. You were still so giddy, happily talking off Carter’s ear.
He felt a sort of warmth in his chest. This was the person Trvais and Nolan talked about. He was finally able to see the you that Travis told him about for years, the you that was free. He wished he could’ve met her sooner.
“I want to go back with you,” You told him suddenly.
“Huh?” he wasn’t entirely sure how you’d gone from talking about wanting a breakfast beagle from the diner off campus, that certainly wasn’t open this time of the morning, to wanting to go somewhere else with him. His brain was hazy, both from the alcohol and everything else that happened.
“To Canada, if the offer still stands?”
You stopped walking and turned to face him. When you really stopped to think about it earlier in the night you realized that there wasn’t any other place you wanted to be. You’d be safe with him in Canada, you would finally be able to fully love him there. Nothing would stand in your way. It would just be you and Carter. Everything would be okay.
“God I love you,” He whispered before leaning down to kiss you, “Of course the offer still stands.”
“Good,” You pulled at his neck so he would kiss you again.
You really didn’t care that you were in the middle of a dark sidewalk in the middle of the night. You couldn’t even pay attention to the cold that was slowly working its way into your bones. Because all you could think about was his lips on yours, and the summer that now awaited you. All you wanted was that. You just wanted him.
“Now Doll, this isn’t part of the game,” You couldn’t pull away from Carter fast enough to find the source of the voice. But you already knew. You wanted to warn Carter to run, to get away. But there was a loud sound that made your ears ring again, but in a different way from the arena. And then...there was just nothing.
New Norm Part 2
Hello!!! I’m back with the highly requested part 2 of my New Norm series. I am defiently open to a part 3 as well if people continue to enjoy it. Not too too much ‘plot’ here, just getting back to school while trying to navigate a new relationship. Some tender moments, and some very cuddly Sirius. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did writing it!!
Part 1
Sirius Black x Reader
The last few weeks of summer we’re the longest and most brutal weeks of your life, and for the first time you felt you understood Sirius and how he became the lighthearted boy he portrayed daily at Hogwarts. When dealing with trauma, and Merlin his mother was traumatizing, people adapted in different ways. Never have you seen such polar reactions as you saw with Sirius and the dutiful Regulus.
Sirius spent the first week you were living at Black Manor picking fight after fight with his mother. Not that she didn’t start her own plethora of ‘disagreements’. You could tell Sirius got something significant out of disobeying her and making her angry, much to your demise; as the woman began taking it out on you as well. She would nitpick you worse than your own grandmother. Sit up straight, ladies shouldn’t speak out of turn (Not that she didn’t do plenty of speaking), and most recently, a wife should know how to cook. So you spent hours of your day locked up with the awful Kreacher in the kitchen.
After a conversation one evening in hushed voices, curled up under the covers he had apologized to you.
“I’m sorry about my mother,”
“Sirius, it isn’t your fault,” You assured, playing with a loose string of his duvet.
“I don’t help it,” He admitted, staring up at the ceiling. Your hands paused and you turned your head to look at him sadly.
“Maybe not, but I can’t blame you either. She’s a witch, and I mean that as an insult. Like the Snow White kind.” Sirius turned to you making a face.
“What’s a Snow White?” You chuckled, shaking your head.
“Oh nevermind, just.. God I know it’s easier said than done, but, try and ignore her? We’ll be back at Hogwarts in no time, away from her. And then my mother said next summer we will have our own home.” Sirius gazed at you for a moment before turning away to look at the ceiling again. He didn’t answer, though you gave him room to do so. Finally you stopped your fiddling with the string and reached over, taking his hand in yours and squeezing.
“We’ll be alright.” You promised him as well as yourself. You had to be, you had no choice. Sirius squeezed your hand back and didn’t let it go for the rest of the night. Eventually silence ebbed into static breathing and light snores, and when the sun peeked through the window, you were still in bed, fast sleep, hands clasped. Sirius woke up first that morning and laid there for a while longer as you slept. He remembered his vows, that he would protect you, and that included from his own mother. If that meant becoming complacent in her demands for these next few weeks- that was something he was willing to do. For you.
Finally the morning of September 11th, 1978 came, it was a cool morning for the end of summer, but sunny. You and Sirius were dropped promptly at Kings Cross station, receiving lectures on behavior. Sirius and his father shared a few words in private that left him scowling for a good majority of the morning, even after you had found Potter, Pettigrew, and Lupin in one of the train compartments.
They eyed you funnily the entire train ride, and you did your best to ignore the gazes. Sirius had told you that he had told them about his wedding, but it was different now in person.
“So is she going to be hanging out with us now? All the time?” James eyed you skeptically and you raised your eyes from your novel to narrow them at the boy.
“She has ears, and is capable of responding to you herself.” Sirius glanced at you, the corner of his mouth twitching slightly. It was the closest you’d seen him to smiling since you boarded, and that fact was not lost on the other Marauders.
“Are you going to be hanging around all the time now?” He asked, pouting slightly. James Potter could have received straight Os if being a git was a class at Hogwarts, but you knew he was also a sweet and caring boy, when he wasn’t being 17. You had a feeling he wasn’t keen on sharing his best mate, not that you blamed him.
“James, she’s my wife now.” Sirius muttered, glancing out of the window. Potter made a face.
“I know and it's weird.” You rolled your eyes, opening your book back up and slouching in your seat.
“And you think that is lost on us? We know it’s weird. We’re living it.” James looked ready to continue but Remus cleared his throat and gave him a warning look. A silent conversation you weren’t privy too took place between the two boys and James shrugged, going back to his Quidditch magazine. You finally reached the doors to the Great Hall hours later and Sirius turned to you.
“Sitting with us?” He asked, you looked past him to James and shook your head.
“I think I’ve intruded on boy time quite enough for one day, I’m going to go find my dorm mates.” You admitted, James had the decency to look guiltily at his feet.
“Alright, I’ll see you later.” You hadn’t kissed since you were pronounced man and wife, but you had taken to holding hands in rare private moments you had gotten together. He reached out to you, allowing his hand to awkwardly drop onto your shoulder. He squeezed before letting go and you offered him a smile before turning to go find your friends, you had missed them.
That night was the first night you had not eaten together in a month, and it was weird for you. You glanced down the table a few times, making eye contact with Sirius. When your eyes would meet he’d smile at you reassuringly, and you always returned it. Meanwhile, your friends gushed about how lucky you were, married to the most gorgeous, the most wanted man at Hogwarts. You didn’t feel very lucky, nor did you think they could understand. So you smiled and nodded, and laughed, like things were how they always were. But they were not. They never would be.
When you entered the common room that night Sirius and his crew were already sitting in their seats closest to the fire, Sirius waved you towards him, but you were in the middle of a (dull) conversation with your friends about whose bum had gotten the fittest over the summer, so you shrugged, going to sit with them. About half an hour later someone approached your group and you looked up surprised to see Sirius.
“Y/N,” He greeted you, and you smiled.
“Hey, what’s up?” Your friends around you tried to stifle their giggles and hid smiles behind hands, something Sirius was used to, but for some reason, in that moment it bothered him. Were they laughing at him? Had you been laughing at him?
“Can we talk for a mo?” He asked, and for a moment he almost looked nervous, but mostly he looked slightly ticked off. You frowned. What had you done?
“Of course,” You nodded, getting up from the armchair you had been longing in. You followed Sirius silently through the common room, aware of his friend’s eyes on you as you went. You reached the corridor and he walked you a little further before sitting in an alcove. You sat with him.
“Are you angry with me?” He asked so suddenly it took a moment to process, your frown deepened.
“Merlin, no, should I be?” You asked, turning to face him, with your hands rested in your lap. He shrugged and wouldn’t look at you. “Have I done something to upset you, Sirius?” You asked gently. He shook his head no before shrugging.
“Why were your friends laughing at me? Why didn’t you sit with me?” He asked, and you sighed, taking his hand gently in yours, causing him to look at you.
“Because they think you’re cute,” You smiled slightly, nudging him, “And they think it’s brilliant I’ve gotten to marry you when half of Hogwarts would die to get ten minutes in a broom closet with you.” He smirked slightly, which made you feel better. That was the Sirius you knew. “And I didn’t sit with you because.. Because I am trying to give you space. This is new and scary. For both of us I’m sure. I don’t want you to feel like I’m smothering you, and I can tell James isn’t too keen on me, I don’t want him thinking I’m stealing his best mate.”
“But were different. I’m not married to James.” You laughed at that,
“I wouldn’t tell him that.” You joked and Sirius let out a small chuckle himself.
“You’re not smothering me. I... I enjoy you being around. I would like you to know my friends, they’re my real family after all.” You squeezed his hand again and he lifted your hand to his lips, kissing the back of it.
“I’ll sit with you lot more often then, just tell James to go easy on me. And don’t think I will be helping with any of your tomfoolery,” You chided jokingly, “My mother will have a cow,”
“Well good thing I’m your husband, I’m in charge of you now,” He grinned and you used your free hand to whack him.
“In charge of me?” You laughed, “Watch yourself, Black.”
“Oh Black huh? Well you’re Mrs. Black.” You froze at that, and something truly haunting dawned on you. Tomorrow classes started. You were no longer Ms. Y/L/N... would your teachers be calling you Ms. Black? If the whole school didn’t already know by now, they certainly would tomorrow.
“Penny for your thoughts?” He asked, resting your entwined hands in his lap.
“I’m Mrs. Black,” You repeated, he nodded, not catching on. “Everyone will call me such.”
“Does that upset you?” You shook your head.
“No no, not upset. I mean, everything is just different now? Even my name.”
“I don’t really fancy it either, don’t worry,” He joked, but you knew he was serious. “We can change it.”
“Sorry?”
“When you graduate, when we move and have jobs we can change it- to whatever you’d like.”
“I’m not sure your mother will allow that.” Sirius shook his head defiantly.
“Once I, well now you I suppose, graduate, I have no intention of doing anything that old bat has to say.” He puffed his chest out slightly, putting on an air of confidence. Your head swum slightly. If that were the case, wouldn’t you simply divorce? “Y/N,” He continued, voice lower and more gentle.
“Hm?”
“It’s going to be weird sleeping alone tonight,” He admitted sheepishly, glancing at your hands, “I’ve gotten quite used to you, I admit.” You smiled at that, leaning against him.
“I won’t miss the snoring,”
“Oi, I don’t snore!” He laughed and you grinned nodding your head.
“You do, love. But I will miss it too,”
“Come visit?” He asked wiggling his eyebrows at you again, you whacked him once more.
“No I think I’ll let you suffer, just for that.”
“Evil.”
“That’s me,” Sirius stood up, bringing you with him before releasing the hand he was holding to put his arm around your shoulder.
“Come sit with us?” He questioned, “I promise James will be good.” You nodded, leaning into the boy's touch.
“Alright, you’ve convinced me.” You spent the rest of your night at Sirius’s side.
 James was civil but you could tell he still wasn’t fond of you or your newly added presence. From that moment forward you spent nearly all your time out of class with the group of boys. You found a friendship in Remus, he was a kind boy, with similar interests. You enjoyed studying together while the others mucked around, and you talked about literature together. Even James was coming around on you, though you two still bickered constantly. Sirius once called it “Sibling rivalry.” which made you laugh. But you could tell how fiercely James cared for Sirius, it made your heart feel warm, knowing he had people to look out for him. Even Peter wasn’t bad to be around, he was funny when he wasn’t being vulgar, though he loved making jokes about the fact that Sirius was now a married man and ‘on a leash,’.
You didn’t feel like Sirius was on a leash, and certainly not your leash. You were married by your parents' request, not dating. If he wanted to go snog some slag he was more then welcome to. At least that was the lie you told yourself. Girls continued to throw themselves at Sirius, I guess a wedding ring didn’t mean much to them, and you were increasingly more surprised every time he politely turned them down. You began to relax more, maybe he wouldn’t?
One evening you all sat in the boys dormitory. Peter was practicing chess, Remus was reading and taking notes. James was laying on his back at the foot of Sirius’s bed, you were sitting back against the boy’s pillows, as he was resting his head in your lap. Sirius and James were debating the validity of some prank they wanted to pull- whether they could pull it off or something like that. You weren’t paying attention, you were reading, occasionally running your fingers through the hair of the boy who was in your lap.
“You’re making me sleepy,” He suddenly yawned, turning away from James and burying his face into your jumper. You smiled, not looking up from your reading.
“So go to sleep,”
“Get a room, you two.” James complained, whining from the bottom of the bed.
“We’re in a room, you’re the one in my bed mate.” Sirius laughed, wrapping his arm around your middle and cuddling into you. As time past Sirius became more and more physically affectionate with you. Not that you minded, it was comforting having someone around whom you could simply touch. James huffed, dramatically getting off the bed, pulling the curtains shut with a great flourish.
“Use a silencing charm for our sake!” He called.
“Piss off mate,” Sirius laughed and you chuckled slightly rolling your eyes.
“He’s just jealous you don’t cuddle him like you used to.” James made an indignant noise from the other side of the curtain and you heard him stalk away to his own bed. You carded your fingers through Sirius’s hair for a few more moments before letting out a yawn of your own.
“I should go to bed,” You murmured, hand stilling. Sirius let out a small whine and you smirked, gently tugging on one of his locks.
“So go to bed,” He joked, mirroring your earlier words. You started to move and Sirius’s arms around you tightened, pulling you to him. “Here,” He asked and you sighed, patting his head.
“And if we’re caught?” You questioned.
“Live a little, love. Girls are always sneaking into the boys dorm for sleepovers, at least we’re married.”
“I doubt McGonagall will care for that small difference.”
“Please?” Sirius asked, looking up at you through his lashes, batting them at you sweetly. You sighed, shaking your head.
“Fine, you’re a bad influence one me, you know that?”
“That’s the kindest thing a woman has ever said to me,” He grinned, peeling himself from you to sit up, “I’ll get you something to sleep in.” You hummed softly. Sirius disappeared for a moment and came back with a t-shirt for you, handing it over. You watched from your position on his bed as he undressed himself, you felt your cheeks going rosy. Once Sirius was down to his boxers he crawled back into bed beside you, nudging you. “Get changed, I wanna cuddle,” He murmured to you and your blush deepened. You stood up, standing beside the bed and facing away from Sirius as you removed your jumper, pulling the shirt on over your head. It was plenty long on you. Next you removed your skirt, leaving your clothes in a pile beside his head. You turned back around and Sirius was watching you, his own small blush. “C’mere.” He offered you his hand and you took it, allowing him to pull you down to him.
You situated the covers around you both before allowing the boy to snuggle up to your side, his head on your chest. You resumed your earlier activity of running your hands through his hair.
“Thank you for staying,” He murmured and you smiled, dropping a kiss onto the top of his head before you could think about the action.
“Of course.”
“You’re welcome in my bed, anytime.” He promised and you rolled your eyes, gently tugging his hair again.
“Don’t ruin the moment, arse.” He chuckled, tangling your legs together beneath the duvet. Sirius fell asleep to the sound of your heart beating firmly in your chest, it was the best lullaby he had ever heard. You played with his hair until his quiet snoring started before simply resting your hand on his head. It took you longer to fall asleep but you eventually did, enjoying the company of the other- you hadn’t realized how much you missed just sleeping with the boy. And this new found cuddling between the two of you really added to the whole experience.
In the morning you were rudely awoken by James, who threw the curtain of your bed open with a scowl.
“Are you wearing clothes?” He questioned, “I was kidding when I said to use a silencing charm, I don’t want you two shagging when I’m five feet away-”
“Mate,” Sirius groaned, rolling over, glaring at the boy, “Shut up,” James huffed, crossing his arm.
“Y/N better get back to her dorm before all her roommates wake up and wonder where she’s been all night.” You groaned, stretching your arms over your head.
“Thanks Jamie,”
“Don’t call me that!” He whined, shuffling away, you laughed as you untangled yourself from Sirius’s limbs, standing up.
“Do you have to go?” He asked, frowning.
“I will see you at breakfast,” You rolled your eyes, grabbing your discarded clothes from the floor. Sirius frowned, flopping back onto the bed, crossing his arms. It made you laugh, god how he and James had grown to be alike over the years. Or maybe they found each other because they were already so alike.
 “Do you want to go on a date?” Sirius asked you one morning during breakfast, your mouth full of food. You raised an eyebrow at him as you swallowed.
“Hm?”
“A date, Y/N.” Like that clarified anything.
“Is there a Hogsmeade weekend coming up?” You questioned him and he grinned, shaking his head no.
“So what, you want to go on a date in the common room?” You laughed, shaking your head at the boy, “Don’t we do that every night?”
“Not the common room, I want to show you something.” You eyed him suspiciously and he flushed slightly laughing, “Not that, who's got a dirty mind now?”
“Still you mate,” Remus interrupted and Sirius shot him a glare, but he quickly recovered, grinning at you again. You weren’t sure you liked that look.
“Sure,”
“Brilliant, be ready tonight at 8pm, in the common room.” You nodded your head, continuing to eat. Whatever he was up to, you were sure you’d be finding out soon enough.  That night you got dressed, listening to advice from all your dorm mates.
“Wear a dress!”
“Let me do your makeup please!”
“No no wear the blue skirt with the cream jumper.”
“Do you think you’ll snog?” You shrugged helplessly, ignoring all of their advice and going with your favorite pair of jeans instead and a black and white striped jumper.
“I hardly know.”
“I think it’s weird. You’re married but you don’t snog.”
“They cuddle, that’s for sure.” You flushed slightly, rolling your eyes.
“We sorta skipped a bunch of steps. It’s hard. Our relationship is unique.” You tried to explain to them. You and Sirius didn’t have some play book you could look to to figure what you should be doing and when. You were all on your own in this, on your own; together.  You allowed your friend to apply a small amount of makeup to you, no more than you would wear any other day. You didn’t want to seem like you were trying too hard- because you weren’t. You shouldn’t be. It’s not like you had to woo him or anything. Right?
You went down to the common room at 8 where Sirius was sitting with the boys waiting for you.
“Y/N!” He called excitedly, jumping up from the sofa, “You ready to go?” He asked and you nodded, coming to him and accepting his outstretched hand.
“Be good!” Remus called jokingly, waving from his spot in one of the armchairs.
“Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!” James added and Sirius threw them the finger over his shoulder before leading you from the common room.
“So,” You started, skipping slightly beside him, grinning up at the boy, “Where are we going?”
“It’s a surprise, you’ll see.” You followed Sirius up to the 7th floor corridor and were met with an expanse of blank wall, you eyes him suspiciously.
“Very nice, Sirius.” You put the hand not holding his on your hip.
“Just watch!” He assured you excitedly, “Me and James found this place 5th year when we were running from Filch. Suddenly it was there,” You listened intently, still staring at the blank wall. Maybe you were missing something? “So we did some experiments, and I think we figured it out. Remus read about it in a book we nicked from the restricted section. Apparently it’s called the Room of Requirements, or the Come and Go Room.” You looked away from the wall up at Sirius, blinking at him. He smiled down at you, nodding towards the wall, when you looked back there was a door and you gasped.
“How?”
“No idea,” He shrugged, “But it turns into whatever you need it to.” You looked at the door in awe.
“Really?” You asked, shocked.
“Yup, come on,” He tugged you forward, opening the door and ushering you in. Once you were inside you were met with a small room that closely resembled the Gryffindor common room, but maybe only one forth of the size. It had a sofa in front of a large roaring fire, there were candles lighting the rest of the room, and a few fluffy blankets sitting on the sofa.
“This is lovely,” You breathed. He pulled you towards the sofa and you allowed him to guide you. He sat down and pulling you down beside him. You sat close to him and he placed his arm around your shoulder. You pulled one of the blankets off the back of the sofa and wrapped it around both of you, leaning into him.
“Thank you,” He smiled, glad you liked it. It had taken him ages of brainstorming to decide what you both needed, for your first proper date. And in the end, he decided, simpler was probably better. You weren’t really one for grand gestures.
“How are your classes,” He asked, playing with a lock of your hair, looking at you. You were warm from the fire, but your chest felt even warmer, something fire couldn’t cause. You shrugged, leaning slightly into his touch.
“Alright, not as hard as your stuff I’m sure, but everyone’s making sure we’re preparing for the NEWTs already. It does my head in.”
“I’ve never asked you what you want to be when you graduate,” He tilted his head thoughtfully and you smiled slightly looking down.
“I’d like to be a curse-breaker,” You admitted, Sirius nudged you until you looked at him.
“That’s brilliant, you’ll do wonderfully.” You shrugged, flushing slightly at the complement.
“Maybe. I’m struggling with charms this year though.”
“Is Remus helping you?”
“Yes but still,”
“You’re brilliant, Y/N.” He assured you, resting his forehead against yours. You smiled, leaning forward slightly to nuzzle your nose against his. “You can do anything you want to do, believe that.”
“I will try. What will you do? After you graduate.” Sirius hummed softly, and you cuddled even closer to him, practically sitting in the boys lap.
“I want to be an Auror.” He spoke softly, “I want to save people, protect them. War is coming, Y/N. I want to make sure I am on the right side of history.” You took his free hand in yours and held it tightly.
“That’s sweet, you’ll make a brilliant Auror.” Sirius smiled.
“James heard his parents talking about some... organization, they call themselves the Order of the Phoenix. I want to join as soon as I’ve graduated. Their goal is to be prepared for when Voldemort finally makes his move.” You nodded, trying to swallow down the worry you felt rising in your chest. You didn’t like the idea of Sirius out there battling dark powerful wizards without you there by his side.
“Good,” You squeezed his hand tightly, “That’s good. You’re a good man.”
“My mother will disown us, she supports those pure-blood ideologies.” He spat the words out and you flinched slightly. You didn’t want to think about what your own family thought of those horrible people. Especially not your father or your grandmother.
“We’ll be alright.” You assured him. Sirius looked at you for a long moment and you smiled softly at him, nudging your nose against his again, “Alright?”
“Alright.” He assured, “Y/N...” He started before trailing off.
“Hm?”
“May I kiss you?”
“Of course,” You whispered, blushing slightly. Sirius smiled before leaning in, he didn’t have to go far before his lips were on your lips. He kissed you softly, his hand that was playing with your hair stilled, resting on the back of your neck to keep you close. You kept one hand in his and moved the other one to his chest, placing it over his heart. He broke the kiss and pulled back just far enough to look at you before his lips were on yours again, this time with more eagerness. He kissed you, lips smashed up against yours and you kissed back, moving your hand from his chest to wrap around him, pulling him closer. He parted his lips slightly, testing the water. You allowed your own lips to open as well, inviting him in. Sirius kissed you with emotion you were surprised were capable of being put into a simple kiss. Everyday Sirius surprised you more and more, and everyday you found yourself falling more and more in love with your husband. It might not have been traditional, or even preferred. But it was working, you were going to make it work.
You spent the rest of the night alternating between speaking to each other in soft voices and snogging. It was the best, and last first date you had ever been on. Sirius was becoming you safe haven in a confusing world. He was becoming your new norm.
"Welcome to the future."
The familiar voice of Maxwell Lord spoke through the TV, the sizzling sound of bacon on the stove and the soft hum of a girl's voice harmonizing with the commercial just like it did almost every morning. It was a natural occurrence for the apartment, the familiarity of it all providing a warmth to the place that Y/N herself couldn't describe.
"Life is good, but it can be better."
The girl picked up a small piece of already cooked bacon and took a bite, her eyes flickering over to the small TV while her other hand absentmindedly flipped the bacon in front of her. Y/N let her gaze wander over the man upon the screen, the corners of her lips perking up with each crunch of the bacon between her teeth while she followed every single one of his animated movements.
"And why shouldn't it be? Everything we've ever dreamed about is right at our fingertips."
He was smiling towards the camera, towards the audience watching on the other side. Maxwell Lord was a man who was destined to be a TV star in some shape or form, even if that meant a commercial. His charisma, his charm, his whole being was something the world was meant to see and Y/N had known that since the moment she first laid eyes upon him that Maxwell Lord was meant for greatness.
"But are you reaping the rewards?"
Y/N flickered her eyes back over to the bacon, smiling with satisfaction once she noticed it was almost done. She moved across the room to where pancakes were currently covered with pieces of tin foil to keep them warm. She pulled the tin foil off, tossing the discarded pieces into the trash before grabbing the extra plate she had ready and bringing it over to the bacon which she began to take off the pan one by one.
"Do you have it all?"
Y/N hesitated at that, the question ringing through her ears and swirling within her head. She was too busy thinking that she didn't even register the sound of footsteps until two arms were snaking around her waist, lips gently pressing against his neck and leaving a soft kiss  where the lingering ghosts from the night before still peppered her skin.
Yes, she wanted to say. I have everything I could ever want.
Y/N let out a soft sigh of content, her eyes fluttering closed as she leaned back against Max, her free hand sliding up into his hair while he moved his lips up her neck and towards her cheek where he left a gentle kiss. "Good morning," Max whispered, his lips brushing against her ears and making her shiver before he was burying his face into her neck while he held her close.
"Morning," Y/N replied a little breathlessly, not being able to help the effect Max always seemed to have on her. She could feel his fingers trailing down her side, gently lifting up the night shirt of his that she had thrown on so that his hands could glide across her skin. He held her waist then, his thumbs rubbing soft circles against her skin while Y/N struggled to pull herself out of the daze she was already falling into.
The smell of bacon was the only thing keeping her from falling into a mess right then and there and she didn't hesitate to pull the rest of the bacon off the pan and on to the plate. She then moved the pan off to the side, quickly shutting off the stove before turning towards her boyfriend—the one and only Maxwell Lord.
He was already dressed to impress, his usual suit hugging his body and his blonde hair styled back to perfection. His brown eyes shone down on her, twinkling as they always did when he looked at her. Then there was that smile, a smile that was very similar to the one on TV but with an extra component reserved just for her. He was a sight to behold, his beauty something that never failed to make her heart skip a beat.
Y/N barely had time to smile before Max was pulling her closer by her waist, his head ducking down to close the distance and capture her lips with his own. She instantly responded, her eyes fluttering closed while her hands reached up to wrap around his neck and pull him closer if that was even possible.
It was a simple kiss, one that still managed to make her breathless while also preventing her from forgetting the food that she had spent a while making while Max got ready for work.
Max pulled away first, his smile never leaving his face as he looked at her before he wrapped both arms around her waist and nodded towards the TV where his commercial was just ending. "You like the new commercial? Same words, just a different concept," he explained.
Y/N smiled and let her hand cup his cheek, her thumb gently caressing the skin there as she said, "It's perfect because you're in it."
Max jokingly rolled his eyes at that, pulling away from the girl in order to help grab the rest of the plates and utensils they would need while Y/N grabbed their coffee and a bottle of syrup for the pancakes. Max set his things down before pulling the chair out for Y/N to sit in. She let out a quiet mutter of thanks while he just pressed a chaste kiss to her cheek and sat down beside her.
The two were like a well oiled machine as they got their food situated, neither of them even saying anything as they automatically began passing things to one another that they knew they would need for their food. Before long they were already eating, Max letting out a small moan of delight before whispering, "Honey, you've outdone yourself again. I still think you should quit your job at the museum and open your own restaurant or maybe even a bakery."
"You only say that because you don't want to cook it yourself," Y/N teased, raising her eyebrows at the boy with a teasing smile while he simply winked at her.
"Maybe the half about me not wanting to cook is true, but the half about me only saying it's great because of that is a lie. You seriously know how to cook," Max insisted earning a small chuckle from the girl.
"Well I'm glad you love it so much and I guess you must be right if you've been able to stick with my cooking for almost three years now," Y/N admitted, noticing the way Max's smile grew a little when she mentioned how long they had been together.
"I'm always right," Max insisted earning a small eye roll from the girl which made him chuckle. He bit into a piece of bacon as he lifted up his watch to check the time. "Shit," he muttered, already turning to his plate and beginning to pile all of his dishes on top of it. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but I really have to head to work."
Y/N frowned at that, having not noticed it was already time for him to leave. "Really?" she asked, attempting to sound curious and not whiny. "Is it already time?"
Max knew what she was doing and let out a small chuckle as he set his dishes in the sink with the intent to clean them later when he got home. "Sadly, yes," he told her. "And if my calculations are correct, you have about half an hour before you need to head to work and unless you want to work in my shirt all day you might want to get ready. Not that I'm complaining."
Y/N turned to him at that, rolling her eyes at the smirk that dawned his face as he not so subtly looked her up and down. She looked away with a sigh and stood up muttering, "I wish we didn't have to work. I'd much rather spend the day here with you."
"I know, sweetheart," Max sighed, taking one last sip of his coffee before rinsing out the cup and setting it in the sink. "But we have to."
"Life is good," Y/N said before pointing to her boyfriend half heartedly and making the face she was so used to him doing on TV. "But it can be better."
Max gave her a small smile at that before walking over and pulling her in for a hug, one hand holding her head against his chest while his other arm was wrapped around her waist. Y/N closed her eyes for a moment and breathed in, Max's scent instantly filling her senses and making her feel more relaxed than before.
Y/N then glanced up at the man who smiled and leaned down to kiss her. She instantly kissed back, her hands beginning to slide up his chest and inching their way towards his hair. However, before she could deepen the kiss and somehow convince him to skip work for the day, Max was already pulling away with an apologetic smile.
"I really have to go," he told her. "I'm going to be late if I don't."
"Right," Y/N agreed. "We're still on for dinner tonight after work, right?"
"Of course," Max assured her, smiling as she pressed one more kiss to his lips.
"Good. Have a great day. I love you," Y/N said, kissing him once more which in turn made Max chase after her lips to prolong the kiss.
"And I love you," he whispered before quickly pulling away and grabbing the last of his things. He went for the door and pulled it open before glancing back at Y/N who was standing in the doorway hugging her body with a small smile on her face. She lifted her hand and waved it ever so slightly in goodbye. Max smiled and sent her one last wink before disappearing out the door and leaving Y/N behind.
The girl stood there for a little while after he had left, her thoughts consisting of nothing but her boyfriend. She couldn't help but be slightly upset for this was what every morning was like,  Max rushing off to work while they were still in the middle of breakfast. And she knew she wouldn't be able to see him until that night.
Luckily it was a date night which meant he would get off early just to eat with her, but most of the time he would be at the office until so late that by the time he got back it would be time for them to go to sleep and repeat the whole process again.
The weekends were the only days she truly got to spend a lot of time with him, but those were also the days that they were in charge of watching over his son Alistair which meant she didn't really get to have him to herself very often. Y/N never complained about it, but sometimes she wished he didn't always have to rush off or wasn't always so busy.
She just wanted to be able to spend a little more time with him was all, especially at this time since he hadn't always used to be so busy in the three years she had been with him. Lately he had just been going through a lot of things at work and he kept referring to some project that he was trying to get started, but wouldn't tell her what it was because he wanted to surprise her when it was ready.
Max's reminder of work was what kept her from getting lost in her thoughts for too long and Y/N quickly went back to the kitchen to put away the leftovers and clean up the dishes. Once she was done, she went to hers and Max's shared room and got ready, throwing on a nice blouse, jeans, and heels like always.
As she put her earrings in, her eyes flickered over to the picture frame on their dresser, her eyes lingering on the photo of her and Max from a gala the year prior. Max was kissing her cheek, an arm wrapped around her waist and holding her close while she smiled towards the camera and kept a hand upon his chest. It was almost funny to think that back then she still hadn't even moved in with the man yet. Now here she was sharing an apartment with him and wishing for the day that he finally decided to pop the question.
Brushing away all thoughts of Max, Y/N checked her appearance in the mirror one last time before grabbing her bag and heading off to work. She had been blessed enough to work at the Smithsonian Museum for a while now and was probably one of the few people on the planet who really didn't mind working. It was just the having to get ready part instead of staying in bed that got to her.
By the time she reached the Smithsonian, Y/N was already looking forward to her day. She was so lost in her thoughts about what she planned to do that she didn't even notice the person trying to go in the door at the same time as her until she had accidentally bumped into them.
"Oh my, I'm so sorry," Y/N quickly said, snapping out of her thoughts and glancing to her side where she was met with a warm smile. "Oh, Diana, good morning."
Diana Prince's smile didn't waver as she looked to the girl. "Good morning, Y/N, and it's really no problem. I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings," she insisted.
"I assure you it was my bad," Y/N said with a small laugh. "I've just been lost in thought all morning and was kind of going through the motions."
"Is everything alright?" Diana asked curiously.
"Yes, yes, everything's fine," Y/N assured her. "I've just been trying to figure out my schedule for the day so that I'm able to go to dinner with my boyfriend tonight."
For a moment Y/N was sure she saw a flicker of sadness in Diana's eyes, but it was gone before she could fully register it was even there. "Ah, trying to juggle your work life and dating life can be hard," Diana agreed while Y/N let out a small sigh of agreement.
"You have no idea," Y/N said, the two girls chuckling softly before Y/N grabbed the door and held it open. Diana gave her a smile in thanks before walking inside. The girl followed after and was about to engage Diana in another conversation when she noticed that the woman was already gone.
Blinking, Y/N looked around for a moment before brushing off the interaction. After all, it wasn't unusual for Diana to disappear when the conversations became a little too friendly. Y/N didn't blame her. It was obvious Diana wasn't looking for a friend and she wasn't going to force her into any sort of friendship that she didn't want.
Y/N let her eyes wander around the museum as she headed for the back rooms, smiling slightly at all the history that surrounded her and the kids who pointed towards different exhibits in awe. It was only when she got to the back rooms that she reminded herself to focus, instantly heading towards the front desk where she began to pick up her papers for the day and any mail that had come in for her.
She was in the middle of flipping through her mail when she heard the sound of papers hitting the ground behind her. Y/N blinked before turning around, a curious look in her eyes before she noticed a blonde on the ground struggling to pick up her papers.
"Hey, Jake!" the blonde said, eyes locked on her coworker who was walking by at that very moment. "Jake, hi! Can you. . .can you. . .?" she began, but the man merely gave her a look before walking away.
Y/N rolled her eyes at Jake's behavior, not necessarily surprised since he wasn't exactly the kindest person there. She let her gaze shift back over to the blonde who was muttering to herself with a disappointed look on her face.
The woman didn't hesitate to set her stack of papers down before walking over and helping the girl pick her own papers up. The blonde blinked in surprise and glanced up, her eyes locking with Y/N’s as she sent her a smile and said, "Good morning."
"G-Good morning," the blonde replied, still stunned at the fact that someone was helping her and someone as beautiful as Y/N no doubt. Another pair of hands joined in and the blonde's eyes grew even more at the sight of Diana who flashed her a grin as she too helped pick the papers up.
"Hi," the blonde said to the two, still looking at them in slight shock. "Thank you."
"Diana Prince, cultural anthropology and archeology," Diana said as she reached out to shake the blonde's hand.
"Y/N L/N," Y/N greeted next with a warm smile as she too shook the blonde's hand. "Anthropology and curator."
"Barbara Minerva. Geology, gemology, lithology, and part-time cryptozoologist," the blonde said with a smile.
"Woah," Y/N said with a small laugh. "That's amazing."
"I kept busy in college," Barbara explained, quickly diverting her gaze as she grabbed the last of her papers and stood up. Diana and Y/B followed, each of them handing Barbara the papers they had managed to pick up. "Sorry. It's these heels, you know. It's stupid. I don't know why I was gonna wear heels. Scientists don't wear heels."
"Sometimes we do," Diana told her with a kind smile.
"Makes things fun," Y/N said, winking at the blonde. "And it might be just me, but I love the sound of my heels clicking down the hallway."
Barbara let out another nervous laugh, feeling slightly intimidated by the two gorgeous women in front of her who were both wearing heels. "Right. Right. Those are cool," Barbara said, pointing towards Diana's cheetah print heels. "I like those. Animal prints." She then did a small growl and Diana and Barbara both awkwardly laughed while Y/N let out a small breath and reached over to grab her stack of papers from the table nearby.
"Do you want to get lunch?" Barbara asked suddenly, her eyes flickering between the two women who blinked in surprise.
"I, uh. . ." Diana began, already sending the rejection that made Barbara's smile deflate a bit.
"Not now, obviously. It's morning. But later today, or whenever. Like, around. . .Like, at lunchtime?" she asked, hope still flickering in her eyes.
Y/N felt a wave of guilt wash over her and she gave the girl an apologetic smile as she said, "I'm so sorry, Barbara. I actually have to work through lunch today so I can get some stuff done."
"And I have a lot of work today as well," Diana said. "But maybe some other time?" Y/N nodded her head in agreement, both of them looking to Barbara who was obviously trying to hide her disappointment.
"Oh. Yeah, I'm busy today, too," Barbara muttered making Y/N feel ever worse.
"Great," Diana said, but before any of them could say anymore, their boss Carol came walking up, her fingers pointing towards Diana and Y/N.
"Ah! Diana, Y/N, do you happen to know who a Barbara Minerva is?" Carol asked, genuine confusion upon her face.
"Oh, hi, Carol. Hi!" Barbara exclaimed, forcing her smile on to her face despite the confused look upon Carol's face. "It's me. I'm Barbara. Remember? You hired me. Started last week."
"Oh!" Carol exclaimed, although Y/N had a sneaking suspicion that Carol really didn't remember her. "Gemologist?"
"Yes. And zoologist," Barbara added. "We had a couple interviews."
"Yeah. Well, the FBI are gonna drop off some artifacts later this afternoon," Carol told her causing both Y/N and Barbara's eyes to widen while Diana suddenly walked back over to the conversation.
"The FBI?" Barbara asked while Y/N let out a breath of disbelief.
"Wow," the girl muttered, knowing that whatever it was that the FBI had to bring in had to be good.
"Yeah. Yes," Carol told her.
"They're coming here?" Barbara asked, still in shock.
"The mall heist yesterday, apparently they were using a jewelry store as a front," Carol explained.
"Front for what?" Diana questioned and even Y/N found herself taking a small step forward out of curiosity and anticipation.
"Black market. Stolen jewels and art meant for private buyers. But we could use your help identifying one in particular," Carol explained, gesturing towards Barbara who smiled widely.
"My help?" Barbara asked before laughing. "Yeah, I'll help the FBI with whatever they need."
"Is that a yes?" Carol asked, obviously wanting to get the conversation over with.
"Yes. I would, um. . .I would love to assist you," Barbara told her.
"Wonderful. It's nice to meet you," Carol said before walking away.
"We've met," Barbara lowly called after her, her smile disappearing into a look of utter defeat.
Y/N watched the blonde for a moment before reaching out and placing a friendly hand upon the girl's shoulder. "Don't worry about, Carol. She treated me the same way when I first started working here," she tried to assure her earning a small grateful smile from Barbara in return. "I really am sorry about lunch, but I'll try and stop by later and talk to you for a bit if that's alright?"
Barbara's eyes lit up at that, her smile widening as she said, "Yes, yes! I would. . .uh, I would love that."
Y/N gave the woman a small nod before beginning to back away. "I'll see you then," she told her before turning and going to head to her office.
"Have a nice day," Diana said as she too turned to leave.
"Bye, Y/N. Bye, Diana," Barbara called after them, a small smile dawning her features all because of the two friendly faces that had made her feel not so invisible for the first time in a long time.
- - -
Y/N let out a small sigh of triumph as she leaned back in her chair, her eyes slowly flickering over the now finished work that she had laying on her desk. It seemed she was going to not only be off in time for dinner with Max, but now an hour earlier than she had expected. All she really had to do was go see Barbara like she had promised and then she would be free to go.
The woman had a little bit of a pep in her step as she got up and began to clean up her desk, putting away the papers that needed to be filed and sending the last couple of emails that she had written throughout the day.
It was when she was in the middle of filing the last of her papers that her phone went off. She didn't even bother looking at the caller ID as she picked it up and said, "This is Y/N L/N speaking."
"Good afternoon, Miss L/N. This is Raquel, Mr. Lord's secretary," the woman on the other end of the line said, her voice just a tiny bit shaky.
"Yes! Raquel. How are you, dear?" Y/N asked, not really paying full attention to the girl for she was too busy trying to file her stack of papers in her hand.
"I'm doing good, Miss L/N. Mr. Lord asked me to call you and deliver a message for you. He's really sorry, but he won't be able to make it to dinner tonight," Raquel said, her words making Y/N freeze almost instantly.
Raquel then went into this big discussion on how Max was held up at work and wouldn't be able to get home until later that night. Y/N could only stand there and listen as the girl rambled, her eyes closing as she sat down at her desk and leaned her forehead against her hand.
"Miss L/N?" Raquel's voice echoed through her ears.
"I'm here. I'm here," Y/N assured her before she let out a small sigh and sat back up in her chair. "Thanks for letting me know, Raquel. If you don't mind just letting Max know that we can just reschedule and that I'll see him when he gets home tonight, that would be great."
"Of course, Miss L/N," Raquel said. "Have a wonderful day."
"You too, Raquel. Don't let Max push you around too much, okay?" Y/N asked.
There was a small chuckle on the other end of the line before Raquel said, "Of course, Miss L/N."
Y/N smiled softly and pulled the phone away before setting it down to end the call. She sat there for a moment after that, momentarily glancing at the paperwork that she had so desperately tried to finish that day only for it really to mean nothing in the end.
Although, she really shouldn't be surprised. This had become an often occurrence in the past couple of months.
Letting out a sigh, Y/N got back up and made no effort to work quickly as she put the rest of the papers away. When she was done, she collected all of her things and made her way to where she knew Barbara would be dealing with the new artifacts.
To her surprise, Diana was already in there with the blonde, the both of them standing over a small box as Barbara muttered, "Here it is."
"What is it?" Diana asked while Y/Nnodded in greeting to a few of the workers as she walked over to the two girls.
"Um. . .Uh. . .I can't tell. Some light," Barbara muttered as she moved a lamp over the box.
"Whatever it is. It's kind of pretty," Y/N spoke up causing Barbara to jump in surprise before smiling once she saw that it was Y/N.
"Y/N, you came," Barbara said in slight surprise.
"Of course. I told you I would, didn't I?" Y/N replied, smiling softly at the girl who only blinked with a look of disbelief on her face as if she couldn't understand that someone had actually wanted to talk to her.
"R-Right, of course you did," Barbara laughed awkwardly. "Uh. . .I was just showing this to Diana. It's the artifact that they wanted help identifying. I think the technical term here is 'extremely lame.'" She laughed in defeat while Y/N and Diana both chuckled softly with her. "Um. . .It's. . .It's citrine. A classic stone used in fakes throughout history," Barbara told them, gently picking the stone up and sighing softly. "I can't imagine this is worth any more than $75. What do you think?”
"Fakes aren't my forte, but let me see," Diana said, taking the stone from Barbara and beginning to examine it. "Mmm. Latin."
"At least it's an antique, right?" Barbara suggested.
"Or a purchase from a stall on the Ponte Vecchio last week," Diana retorted. "You never know."
"I wonder what it says," Y/N admitted, carefully reaching out to run her fingers across the Latin words while Diana kept the stone in her grasp.
"'Place upon the object held but one great wish,'" Diana read off earning a surprised look from both Barbara and Y/N as the later girl pulled away.
"You read Latin?" Barbara asked.
"Yeah. Yeah. Languages are a hobby," Diana explained.
"Wow and here my hobby is watching TV until the sky is suddenly screaming good morning to me," Y/N muttered between laughs which Barbara and Diana quickly joined in.
"So maybe it's, like, a lucky charm or something?" Barbara suggested.
"Yeah, I guess. Strange," Diana said, letting her eyes flicker over the rest of the objects upon the table and the box the stone came from.
One of Barbara's coworkers Roger must have overheard because he walked over and placed his hand upon the stone before saying, "I really wish I had a coffee."
Y/N cracked a smile at that while Barbara laughed a little too hard for Roger's joke and said, "You're funny."
It was at that moment that another coworker walked in and said, "Hey, I got Erika a coffee, but she's out sick. Does anybody want this?"
Roger blinked before laughing and looking back over at Diana, Barbara and Y/N, "What? Yeah, I'll take one." He took the coffee happily and went to take a sip as he walked away, "Ooh, hot! Hot, hot!"
Y/N watched the man go, furrowing her eyebrows slightly before glancing back at the stone that was in Diana's hands. Barbara let out a small gasp of disbelief, "Did you see that? Can you imagine?"
"If only," Diana whispered.
"Hmm. So many things, I don't even know what I would wish for," Barbara admitted.
Y/N smiled softly as she stared at the stone in Diana's hand before lowering her gaze and moving to look at the other artifacts. She knew exactly what she would wish for if given the chance—to spend more time with Max and Alistair, the two people in the world who made her the happiest she had ever been each time she saw them.
"I do," Diana said, a distant look in her eyes before she set the stone back down. "Well, um, anyway, sorry to bother you. If you need anything, I'm around."
"Oh, yeah, I'm good," Barbara told her. "But thank you for. . ."
"That's okay. It's my job. And I'll look into it more when I have a chance," Diana replied.
"Okay. Well, thanks for. . .talking to me," Barbara added before glancing towards Y/N. "The both of you." She let out an awkward chuckle and looked down bashfully. "I'm. . .I'm sorry, uh. . .I mean, I'm fine."
"You know, we could go and grab early dinner and talk about exactly how lame that stone is," Diana suggested, her words making Barbara look back up at her in surprise.
"Really?" Barbara asked, her voice barely above a whisper and sounding so fragile.
"Yeah, I mean, citrine? Who are they kidding, right?" Diana joked.
"So lame," Barbara agreed between laughs.
"Dorky," Diana added.
"Lame," Barbara said. "That's, like, the lamest of lames."
"Yeah, let's go," Diana told her and Y/N watched as the two began to leave before biting her lip nervously and then running after them.
"Hey, uh. . .if it okay if I come too?" Y/N asked. "My dinner plans kind of flopped and I'd really like to make up for the missed lunch."
Diana watched her silently and Y/N knew she was thinking back to what she had said about going to dinner with Max, but Barbara was already smiling and saying, "Y-yeah. Of course."
Y/N smiled widely. "Great," she said, falling into line with the other two women as they began to head out the building. "Thank you."
And with that, the three made their way out of the building and off to dinner while Barbara silently thanked whoever was looking out for her for putting the two amazing women in her life.
Y/N had to hold back a snort as she leaned back in her chair, laughter shaking her body while she tried to ignore the fact that maybe she had one too many drinks than she should've.
"Wow. You're so funny," Diana said as she looked to Barbara, Y/N quickly nodding in agreement.
"Oh. Thank you," Barbara said a bit surprised seeing as no one had ever told her that before.
"My sides hurt," Y/N admitted, using her hand to brush her hair out of her face as her eyes sparkled at the girls. "I think my smile is now permanently on my face."
"I've got to agree with, Y/N. Wow. I mean, no one's made me laugh like this in such a long time. I mean, it's true, I don't get out much socially, but—" Diana began, but Barbara gave her a loo of disbelief.
"You don't get out much?" Barbara asked.
"No, not really. No," Diana said and Y/N had to hold back her utter of agreement for she knew how anti-social Diana could be if she wanted to, but she didn't want to let her know that she had noticed it.
"I'm sorry," Barbara laughed. "I'm just surprised. Because you just seem like the kind of person who's, like, always out. Like, people are asking you to go out all the time and you live out. You're just out."
The three laughed at that as Barbara began making hand gestures, "Like, you never get in. You just seem like you'd be really popular. And I would know because I've never been popular."
Y/N frowned a little at that, feeling a pang of sympathy for the girl who no one really seemed to give a chance to. "I wasn't popular much either," Y/N assured her. "It happens to the best of us."
That made Barbara laugh and Diana joined before saying, "I'm surprised you two haven't. You're both so personable. So. . .free. I mean, honestly, I gotta say that I envy that."
"What?" Barbara laughed in disbelief. "You envy me? That doesn't make any sense. Oh, my gosh. People think I'm weird. They avoid me and talk behind my back when they don't think I can hear them. I'm like, 'Guys, I can hear you.'" The blonde looked down at that, awkward laughs escaping her lips while both Diana and Y/N looked at her sympathetically.
"Barbara, my life hasn't been what you probably think it has. We all have our struggles," Diana told her.
"She's right. As much as I wish it were true, no one's got a perfect life," Y/N sighed. "Life is good, but it can be better," she whispered like a mantra.
"Yeah, it just sucks," Barbara said and Y/N chuckled softly at that. The blonde let her eyes flicker over to her new friend and she gave her a curious look, "So Y/N, you mentioned earlier that you were supposed to be getting dinner with your man, what happened if you don't mind me asking?"
Said girl let out a soft sigh, her eyes focusing on the glass of wine in her hand and the way the liquid spun as she slowly moved it. "He got caught up at work," she explained with a sad smile.
"You don't sound surprised," Barbara pointed out.
Y/N glanced up to find both women staring intently at her and she just shrugged. "It's happened quite a bit lately, but it's okay," she said. "He's had a lot to deal with, so I'm not mad or anything. I just miss him is all."
"I'm sorry," Barbara frowned. "I know it must be hard."
"It is," Y/N admitted with a sad laugh.
"How long have you guys been together?" Diana asked.
"We'll be coming up on three years next month," Y/N replied, a genuine smile appearing on her lips as she thought about what an accomplishment that was and how lucky she was to have Max.
"Three years? Wow. You must really be in love with the guy," Barbara teased.
"Yeah," Y/N said with a small blush, her thoughts suddenly being consumed with everything that had to do with Max. "He's the love of my life and he has this kid who is just the greatest. I'm very lucky with what I have. I just wish we were able to spend more time together, you know?"
"I get it," Barbara told her, reaching out to gently squeeze the girl's hand in comfort before glancing at Diana. "What about you, Diana, you ever been in love?"
"Uh. . .Yeah. A long, long time ago," Diana told her. "You?"
"So many times, yeah. All the time. Often," Barbara replied instantly making Y/N chuckle softly despite the ache in her heart that had reappeared at the thought of Max. "So what happened? Where'd he go, your guy?"
"He, uh. . .He died," Diana explained, her words making Y/N still. She couldn't imagine the type of pain Diana had to be going through. She didn't know what she would do if Max ever passed away. "But I still think sometimes that I see him up there in the sky. He was a pilot."
"Oh!" Barbara exclaimed.
"That sounds fun," Y/N told the girl. "I bet he was an amazing guy."
"He was all kinds of things, but he was great. It was true," Diana said.
"I get it," Barbara said, her eyes flickering between the two women who were invisibly now thinking about theirs guys. The blonde was quick to pick up her drink, smiling at the two as she said, "Well, cheers to us. Wishing us better luck, I guess."
Y/N smiled softly at that before clinking her glass with the two beside her, but she would only be there in spirit for the rest of the dinner for her thoughts would be on Maxwell Lord.
Just like they always were.
- - -
By the time Y/N got home from dinner, she wanted nothing more than to curl into the embrace of the man that she loved. She knew she should be mad at him for ditching her once again, but she knew what it was like to be busy at work and would never blame him for working hard like he did.
However, she couldn't stop the small pit of despair that was growing in her stomach once she got back to their shared apartment only for the lights to still be off and for Max to be no where in sight.
The girl let out a soft sigh before walking towards their bedroom, stripping off her work clothes in favor of something more comfortable before pulling her hair back into a ponytail as she plopped down on the couch to watch a little TV while she waited for Max to get home.
It was at least another hour before the door opened up, Max tiredly shuffling inside before closing the door behind him. Y/N could already tell that he was tense and she frowned before slowly getting up from the couch, her eyes trailing over the man as he took his jacket off and went to hang it up.
Y/N came up from behind him, her arms snaking around his waist so that she could hug him from behind. She felt him relax under her touch, a small sigh escaping his lips as he leaned back into her while she rested her head against his back.
He sounded tired, but she could still practically hear the smile on his face as he said, "Hey there, sweetheart."
"Hi, Maxie," Y/N whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his back. "How was work?"
"Stressful," Max admitted with a small laugh. "I'm sorry about dinner. I just had a lot I had to deal with today and I didn't realize how long it would take."
"It's alright," she assured him, but Max was already turning around so that he could gently cup the side of her face.
"It's really not and I promise I will make it up to you, alright?" he told her and although she knew he would only forget just like the other times, Y/N still gave him a small nod and a smile in response.
Max smiled and leaned forward to press a kiss to her lips, his arm slowly snaking around her waist and pulling her closer before he pulled away and went to sit down on the couch. He held onto her hand and dragged her along beside him, pulling her down into his lap as he wrapped his arms around her waist and looked to her with a small smile.
"How was your day?" he asked. "A lot better than mine, I hope."
"It was the same as every other day," she told him, her eyes closing slightly in content as he pressed a small kiss to her neck before holding her tight and resting his face in the crook of her neck. "Just a lot of paperwork as always. I met a new coworker today at work named Barbara and went to dinner with her and Diana."
Max hummed in response before muttering, "Sounds like fun."
"It was," Y/N said. "Oh, and we got a shipment from the FBI with all of these cool artifacts."
Max hesitated at that and pulled his head away from her neck in order to look at her. His eyes sparkled with curiosity as he asked, "What kind of artifacts?"
Knowing that her boyfriend was intrigued, Y/N smiled and continued, not seeming to notice the way Max looked off into space as she spoke. "Apparently the mall heist the other day revealed the jewelry store was selling stuff on the black market. We got a big shipment of all sorts of artifacts. I only got to glance at a few, but there was this one gemstone looking one that I saw with this engraving on it. Diana said it mentioned something about making wishes with it and—"
It was then that she noticed Max's behavior, the way he was just staring off while being so quiet she would've assumed he was asleep if it weren't for the fact that his eyes were still open. "Max?" she questioned, her gaze flickering over him until he finally seemed to hear her voice and blinked himself back to reality.
His eyes flickered her way and she gave him a confused look. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"Of course," he told her, sending that smile of his in her direction that made her heart skip a beat. "I just love listening to you talk is all." He pulled her closer to his body if that was even possible, pressing a small kiss to her cheek before whispering, "I love you."
Y/N didn't even have time to blink before he was closing the distance between them, his lips capturing hers perfectly while his hands slowly moved under her shirt before resting upon her hips. She couldn't help the way that her eyes fluttered closed and she knew her face was heating up due to the intensity of the kiss that literally came out of no where.
When Max pulled away, Y/N was sure her face had gone bright red, but thankfully the only light in the room was coming from a lamp nearby which meant that her blush was semi-hidden by the darkness.
"What was that for?" she asked breathlessly.
Max just shrugged with a small smile as he whispered, "I love you."
"Yeah, yeah," she chuckled, her eyes fluttering closed once again as he felt him slowly begin to kiss down her neck. She leaned back with a heavy sigh while Max smirked against her skin.
"I love you so much," Max whispered, his emotions heightened even more as he tried to process how his beautiful girlfriend had been able to help him achieve his dream without even realizing it.
Y/N let out a breathy laugh as she opened her eyes to look at the man, taking note of the way his eyes seemed to sparkle as he stared at her. "Oh, really? How much?" Y/N asked, smirking at the man who merely chuckled before pulling her up off the couch with him.
His eyes were practically flashing at her as he slowly began to back her towards their bedroom, his lips curving up into a smile as he whispered, "Let me show you."
Chapter 3 - Running from the Public Eye | TRP
Tumblr media
Summary: First lesson to learn when you’re royalty: The press never rests.
Warning/s: a bit of angst, mentions of a scandal
Series Masterlist
“You ready darling?” Fred asked, gently knocking on the door of Ginny’s room.
“Just a minute.” I answered, finishing up my hair and makeup before opening the door.
He grinned, “Love, you didn’t need to doll yourself up for me. You’re already the most gorgeous woman in the world.”
I giggled, “Flatter me all you want Weasley.”
He placed a hand on the small of my back as we walked down the stairs of the Burrow, “Hey! I’m not flattering you. I’m telling you the truth.”
I raised a brow at him, “Oh yeah? Since when did you tell the truth.”
“I always tell the truth.”
“No, you don’t.”
“Yes, I do.”
“Give me at least one occasion wherein you told the whole truth.” I challenged.
He gave a small smirk, “The day I told you that I love you, that wasn’t a lie.”
He did have a point.
The smirk of Fred’s lips widened, “Rendered you speechless love?”
I couldn’t help but give a small smile, “Shut up.” I said, lightly smacking him on the chest.
“My oh my.” Ginny mused from her spot on the couch, “Freddie, where are you going with the lady dressed in red?”
My boyfriend grinned, keeping up the act his little sister has started, “Why, Miss Ginevra, I’m taking her out and showing her a good time.”
The youngest Weasley then turned to me, “And may I ask Miss Y/N, that out of all the people in the world, why would you choose him to show you a good time?”
I laughed, “Miss Ginevra, whether you believe it or not, your brother is a very charming, and may I mention, handsome man and I couldn’t imagine anyone else showing me a good time.”
“Come on guys.” George said as he entered the room, plopping down on the space next to Ginny, “Drop the posh accent. You’re making my head ache.”
“And, on that note.” Fred said, “My sweetheart and I better be going. We still have a date to go to.”
George pretended to puke at what his twin said, “Go on, don’t let us stop you. Your mushiness makes me sick.”
Ginny smacked his shoulder, “Just wait ‘til you have a girlfriend yourself. Then we’ll see about that mushiness.”
After bidding the bickering two goodbye, we headed on to the muggle town just a few blocks near the Burrow.
Fred and I walked through the town, the two of us finally having some times for ourselves.
“Did I ever tell you how lucky I am to have you in my life?” Fred asked, interlacing our hands together.
I giggled, feeling a blush rising up to my cheeks, “And did I ever tell you how much of a blessing you are to me?”
He grinned, leaning forward and connecting our lips into a sweet, slow kiss.
I held onto his shoulders to maintain my balance, smiling into the kiss as he placed his hand on the small of my back.
We didn’t care that we were snogging right in the middle of the street. Besides, we have always lived in the moment.
At the back of my mind, I knew that this was somehow a bad idea. But the rest of my mind, was filled with nothing but the man kissing me as if there was no tomorrow.
Fred Weasley had completely taken over my senses. All my thoughts were filled with nothing else but his smell, his touch and his kiss.
We pulled apart as our lungs started to demand oxygen and my mind, once again, reminded me why it was such a bad idea.
I glanced at my side, and from afar, I could spot a group of people. They didn’t even need to come nearer for me to know that they were the press.
“Darling, are you okay?” Fred asked, seeing the worried expression on my face.
“A bit uneasy.” I admitted, grabbing his hand and running, “Come on, we’ve got to go before they catch us.”
“Who exactly is going to catch us?” Fred asked as we weaved through the crowds of people.
“The press and the paparazzi.” I said, silently being grateful for all those times we had to run away from Filch, that really gave us so much practice.
“Well, we better hurry up then.” He said, pulling me towards a deserted alley.
The both of us leaned against the wall, trying to catch our breath, the paparazzi just nearby.
“Have you seen where the princess has gone?” One of them asked.
“They just disappeared.” Another answered.
“I think they went this way.” Another one from the group said.
Their clamoring then died away as they kept on their wild goose chase.
Fred and I breathed out a breath we didn’t realize we were holding.
“So,” He said with a small laugh, “this how a day in your life is huh?”
I smiled, leave it up to my boyfriend to enlighten the atmosphere with a joke. But that’s what I loved about him.
“Yeah.” I said, “I’m pretty sure half my life was spent running from the public eye.”
“I’m also pretty sure that we’ll be making the headlines tomorrow.”
Fred chuckled, wrapping an arm around my waist, pressing a kiss on the top of my head, “Let’s go home. I think we’ve had enough of an adrenaline rush for one day and if I didn’t know better. You would just want to cuddle and watch some movies.”
I smiled, leaning into his touch, “You know me so well.”
--
Remember what I said about Fred and I making the headlines?
I was right about that.
“Well, you look at that?” Ginny said amusingly as the rest of them took turns looking at the paper, “Freddie has been deemed the mysterious companion of the princess.”
Fred chuckled, “Let me have a look at that.” He said, snatching the paper from Ron, as he read through the article.
“The least they could do was say that I was good-looking.” He jokingly scoffed.
I rolled my eyes at him, “That’s because the press has to worst taste.”
“You know.” Hermione said, “I’m quite surprised that your parents haven’t been asking you about it yet.”
Just as she uttered the last word, we heard a small thud and saw that Hedwig was by the window of the Weasley’s kitchen.
I opened the window, letting the owl plop the letter into my open palm before she flew towards Harry.
I opened the letter, already suspecting was what written in it.
The letter was from my sister, she said that our parents was furious about the headlines and they were calling for me immediately.
“Right on schedule.” I muttered, throwing the letter on the table.
“What did they say?” Fred asked, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I sighed, “The letter was from my sister. But my parents want me to head over to the palace asap. They want to speak to me there.”
“Do you want me to come with you?” He asked.
I shook my head, “I’ll be fine Freddie. I’ll be back before you know it.”
He placed a peck on my cheek, “Okay then, but if they lock you up in the dungeons just tell your sister to send me an owl and I’ll be there to rescue you faster than you could say royalty.”
I laughed pressing a brief kiss on his lips, “I’ll keep that in mind Freddie.”
--
That’s how I ended up sitting in the “meeting hall” of the palace.
“Do you know that you’re giving a press an opening for a scandal?” My mother spat as she threw the newspaper on the long table in front of us.
“What kind of scandal?” Christel voiced out the question I had been wanting to ask.
My mum softened her gaze as she looked at Christel, “Well honey, you know how the press are. Once they’ve found something interesting, they won’t care about the facts. They’ll write any story as they please. And if they find something that will definitely pique the interest of everyone, there’s a sixty-five percent chance it’ll be a scandal.”
As she stated the last sentence, she shot me a death glare from across the table.
“You should know better.” My father said from my mother’s right, “You’ll be crowned Queen soon. You know that you should avoid a scandal at all costs.”
I sighed, “Look, it’s not a scandal. There’s nothing the press can say about it. Fred and I were just hanging out.”
“In a crowded place?” She taunted.
“You always told me that, in order to avoid the press, I should always be in a crowded place.”
“You know that it’s a case-to-case scenario.”
I took a deep breath, “Look, Fred and I were just hanging out. We were doing anything that we’re not supposed to do. There’ll be no scandal, or anything like that.”
“How sure are you?” My father asked.
Silence overtook the atmosphere.
He had a point. How sure was I?
“Then, we’ll just have to trust Y/N’s word. If she says that there’ll be no scandal, then we’ll just have to take her word for it.” Christel came to my defense, giving me an encouraging smile.
I gave her a grateful smile, silently thanking her for her support as mum and dad continued to discuss about the planning for the coronation.
--
“How was it?” Fred asked as I climbed in bed next to him.
“As expected, they were furious. Saying that I’ll be causing a scandal and all. But, don’t worry, I sorted it all out.” I reassured him.
He kissed the top of my head as I leaned against his chest, “Just remember dove, I’ll always be here for you, no matter what the world throws at us.”
He took my hand, raising it up to his lips as he kissed along my knuckles, “It’ll always be us against the world.”
I smiled up at him, “Us against the world? I like the sound of that.”
❥ i-land (theme song)
⤷ ellie and the 12 other applicants of i-land are introduced to their very first performance mission.
⤷ word count: 3.3k+
⤷ warning: this is all purely fictional, none of the arguments and conflicts within this series is a true reflection of the trainees. everything you read is made up from my pea-sized brain.
⤷ *italics = english / italics + bold = japanese*
Tumblr media
ellie was somehow coping...she made new friends! there was this one trainee named sunghoon who she became close to after bonding over their love for skating and then there was nicholas, who she found really entertaining. she was relaxing on her bed talking to jake when the alarms started ringing, “in 10 minutes, we will reveal the first test.” she shoots up, “we just got here...” she sighs and rushes out the door, pulling jake along with her. the other i-landers were rushing to the main room.
jake and ellie reach the mission room, sitting in chairs right beside each other. as the i-landers fill up the space, the big monitor in front of them plays a video, “that’s sick.” ellie whispers. “from now on, you have a common destiny.” ellie raises her eyebrows in anticipation. “for the four tests to come, you’ll be collectively responsible for every result.” ellie runs a hand through her hair. “the average of individuals’ scores will be the team’s score, that result will determine the number of people to be eliminated from the i-land.” the screen shows a table and ellie's mouth gapes open in shock. so what she’s seeing is, if they get anything below a 96, it guarantees an elimination...the boys beside her all gasp. “it means, everybody should get a high score for many people to stay in the i-land.” she furrowed her eyebrows. “so we all have to do well.” a trainee by the name of geonu says, “if one person does bad, it impacts everyone else.” ellie adds, the trainees around her nod their heads in agreement. “...and for the elimination.” ellie’s breath hitched, “you’ll be decided by yourself.” she groans and buries her face in her hands. “now, for determining the destiny of the collective on i-land, the first test is going to be revealed.” ellie’s eyes go wide. part of herself feels excited at the thought of their very first performance, but the other part...mhm...not so much. the screen changes and on it read the words ‘signal song’. she cocks her head in confusion. immediately, a video starts playing and the first beats of the song are heard, “oh my, it’s a song just for us!” she yelps excitedly. one side of the screen read the lyrics and the other side played the choreography. “wah...” speechless, that’s how she felt. after witnessing the entirety of the first ever song, ellie claps her hands in amusement. “i love it!” she yells, throwing her hands up. the boys laugh at her reaction. seon takes the lead, yet again, after the trainees calm down. he explains which parts get the most lines and center time, as well as those that don’t get as much. “parts 8-13 only go once.” jay mentions. she bites her lip, feeling the sweat build up on the crook of her neck. she felt anxious. she could not get any part more than a 7, she just couldn’t. analyzing the lyrics more, ellie falls deep in thought. “hey.” jake snaps her out of her thoughts, “you ok?” she nods her head, “what do i do?” she gets anxious thinking about the choosing of parts, “you’ll be fine, don’t worry about it.” jake turns his body to face her, “whatever part you get, i know you’ll shine.” he smiles and she instantly relaxes, “thanks jake.” she smiles at him, the apples of her cheeks on full blast. “from now, decide the signal song’s part.” ellie sighs, “you can change the part at any time.” she darts her eyes around the room, analyzing others’ reactions, “this test will begin in 7 days.” she gasps, “7 days?!” she turns to jake, “that’s barely enough time, my god.” the countdown appears on the egg and her heart drops to her feet. the trainees around her all exclaim, “they weren’t kidding huh.” jake says and ellie laughs, she’s losing her mind. “then what should we do first?” asks daniel. seon answers him right away, once again taking the lead. jay follows up soon after, “i think first, we need to sing...because the center has to hit all those high notes.” the conversation flows on and ellie blanks out, only nodding her head every now and then. heeseung decides to speak up after noticing the state of the conversation, suggesting the idea of learning the main choreography, first, then coming back together as a whole to decide the parts. everyone nods their heads in agreement. jake and ellie decide to head back to their room, where they are met with a few trainees, one being ni-ki. “what part are you going for ellie?” he asks in japanese, “i don’t know...anything below a 7 would be fine, i guess.” she responds back, “i’ll just go with the flow.” ni-ki nods his head, “i want part 1.” he says, switching back into korean. “don’t we all...” ellie sighs and flings her body onto the soft mattress of the bed. it’s been a few hours since the first test was announced and both ellie and ni-ki had already learned 80% of the choreography, focusing on the chorus. the trainees watch in awe. “ni-ki! ellie!” k yells in surprise. “they’re so good.” sunghoon mentions soon after. ellie smiles as the applicants clap them on. finishing up, she turns to face ni-ki and they give each other a high five, feeling exhilarated by the sudden compliments. “why are you guys so good?” sunghoon asks the two. ellie thanks him and with sass, flips her hair over her shoulder, ending it with a wink. the trainees pretend to fall over at her cute action and she laughs. the trainees were gathered in the dance room, once again, all deciding on parts for the signal song. the discussion was led by heeseung, who she has been wanting to get close to after seeing his performance during the entrance test. ellie drowns the voices out, deciding to tune back in after she calms herself down. “so, let’s take audition voluntarily and get judged by us.” was the first sentence you heard as you bring yourself back into reality, “so we are voting again?” heeseung (half-jokingly) says, “no, not the voting!” sunghoon pleads and the rest laugh. ellie smiles and looks down. “i think we should decide everything today.” heeseung says. “i agree, i think it’s better if we get all the parts down today so that we’ll have more time to prepare for the actual performance.” ellie speaks for the first time in, what felt like, an eternity. the trainees hum in approval. heeseung helps plan out the rest of the week, deciding on learning everything for the first two days and then perfecting it after the two days were up. “hands up if you want to do part 1.” the audition process starts for the parts. the trainees all look at each other in anticipation, feeling out the air. “should i count to five?” daniel asks after realizing no one had raised their hands up. the young boy starts his countdown and by the end, still no hands up. ellie’s heart rate quickens, she wants it...she wants it so bad. she bites her bottom lip. “then, does anybody want to recommend someone?” ellie looks around as the trainees agree with heeseung’s idea. both sunghoon and youngbin gain the applicants’ attention as they raise their hands up. sunghoon shyly points his hand towards heeseung, “i recommend heeseung!” he says, shooting finger guns at him. ellie wasn’t going to lie, in her heart she knew heeseung had what it takes to completely own the stage...but she wanted to prove herself. she snaps out of her thoughts with the sound of laughter. “he said it, and he can’t control how he feels.” she overhears. ellie looks around the circle, her eyes landing on the boy next to her, ni-ki. “hey, you ok?” she whispers, nudging him a bit. “if you want part 1, go for it.” she encourages him with a wink and he musters up a smile, “heeseung gets part 1!” ellie snaps her head to look back into the circle, “oh.” she sighs in defeat. ‘stupid. you should’ve raised your hand up.’ she mentally slaps herself on the head. the whole ‘choosing parts’ process took way longer than what ellie had hoped. she ended up landing a spot on part 2a, part 2b going to geonu. she was more than satisfied with her parts, but part of her still wanted that stupid part 1. “ta ta ta.” heeseung keeps the beat for the other trainees as they practice their dance, ellie follows along smoothly, having already memorized the whole dance a few minutes prior to when heeseung decided to take the lead. looking to her left, she notices a struggling jake and youngbin, her eyes immediately softening. she taps the two on the shoulders, “need help?” she asks and they both exhale, “yes please.” jake says. she pulls the two away from the bigger group to help them get a one on one practice, adhering to their pace. “perfect!” ellie smiles and claps at the two, finally finishing the dance, “youngbin, for this move,” quickly demonstrating, “try extending your arms out more to make it look cleaner...and after that, i think you’re all set!” she smiles, the apples of her cheeks becoming very prominent. youngbin bows towards her, “thank you ellie. this means so much.” he says with a dramatic tone. ellie giggles and pats his back, “of course, kind sir.” jake laughs first, ellie and youngbin follow immediately after. “should we do freestyle?” ni-ki suggests, “daniel can beatbox!” nicholas points at the young boy as he starts a beat. the i-landers were in the practice room taking a short break after practicing for hours on end. “shall we start? whichever bpm.” ni-ki says. ellie looks around with a glint in her eyes. “you should go up.” jake nudges her, “absolutely not, i’m scared.” she yell-whispers. jay is the first one up, “hey jay! hey jay!” the trainees start chanting. he rides the beat slowly and immediately starts showing off his dance steps, “oh!” ellie exclaims, waving her arms around. ni-ki is next, stepping out with a few flashy moves. the i-landers all exclaim, “wah ni-ki!” ellie yells, clapping her hands. he finishes off with a pose and everyone falls to the ground in excitement. “ellie...” jay suddenly starts, “ellie! ellie!” the chanting grows stronger while ellie gets flustered, “uh...i shouldn’t” she scratches the back of her neck, “ellie! ellie!” next to her, jake smiles, “c’mon!” ellie sighs and smirks, “alrighty then.” daniel changes the beat and her demeanor changes. stepping out, riding the beat, she starts off with a bit of popping. showing off every dance style she knows, the i-landers all yell to hype her up. feeding off of the energy in the practice room, she finishes off with a pose, “oh my god!” they all yell and come closer to her. nicholas lifts her up and they all start chanting her name, “what is happening?!” she laughs. the boy puts her down, “you’re amazing!” nicholas pats her head and she thanks him. “you never said you could freestyle?” ni-ki says with a smile, “well, the topic never got brought up...so...” she shrugs. the mood was tense as the trainees sat down, waiting to show off what they’ve learned in the little time that they were given. earlier that day, someone was arguing about the choreography, she wasn’t there to completely witness everything because she was getting water, but when she came back, everyone had a gloomy look on their face. jungwon was up first, performing perfectly even after the little time they had to practice. she’s always admired the boy, he was very talented and they were the same age, but she’s been too scared to strike up a conversation with him. he finishes off and the trainees clap, “you did well!” k compliments him. like always, ellie blanks out, getting anxious at the thought of performing in front of everyone, especially when they’re all examining the smallest details. it’s not like she doesn’t know she’ll do well, she knows she can pull it off, but she was still nervous. “ellie, you’re up!” heeseung says. the girl slowly arises from her seat, jake cheering her on. she looks around and makes eye contact with ni-ki, who mouths a, “fighting!” she smiles and mouths a thank you back. she gets to her starting position and the music starts. her body flows with the music effortlessly, completely ridding her mind off of all the thoughts that run recklessly in her brain. “that was amazing!” heeseung exclaims. she bows and calms her breathing. ni-ki whispers something to heeseung and ellie’s heart race quickens, “just say it out loud.” heeseung encourages ni-ki, “that was the best performance yet.” he quickly says, looking down. ellie smiles and bows again, “thank you!” the trainees cheer her on as she sits down next to jungwon, “you’re really good.” he compliments her. she blushes, “you too!” the silence between the grows larger, “um...2004 right?” he suddenly asks. ellie nods her head, “september 3.” she adds on. jungwon nods, “february 9.” he says, smiling to himself. “im older!” he was quick about it. ellie rolls her eyes and the two have a hearty laugh. ellie learned a lot about the boy during the few minutes they had together. he used to do taekwondo and he really loves his grandma. oh! he also has this weird obsession with curry? anyways, ellie examined the boy while he was talking. he had doe like eyes, sparkling every time he’d talk about a topic he loved. he had deep, prominent dimples that would show up every time he spoke. he also does this (really cute) thing where he furrows his eyebrows every time he- “jake! you’re up!” ellie shakes her head to get rid of the thoughts, “go jakey!” she yells for support. clapping her hands she turns back to jungwon, “he’ll do great, i know he will.” jungwon nods and smiles... during jake’s performance, ellie notices ni-ki whispering something to heeseung. her anxiety shoots up and she bites her lips, “you ok?” jungwon asks from besides her, voice laced with worry as he notices her legs bounce up and down, “oh, it’s nothing, don’t worry about it.” ellie reassures him, smiling slightly. jake has been doing amazing, maybe even better than some of the other trainees. he finishes off his dance and waits in anticipation for feedback. “ni-ki thinks that jake’s performance was one of the best by far.” jake smiles and bows, breathing out in relief. ellie’s eyes widen and she claps excitingly for her friend. standing up, she runs over to him, attacking him with a bear hug, “i knew you’d do great, mate!” she says. jake laughs and pulls her down to sit. there has been so much tension surrounding i-land during the past few days and ellie had no clue what was going on, resorting to keeping to herself and eating every once in a while. back in the dance practice room, seon whispers something to k and the next thing she knew, they were all gathered on the steps of the entrance. she looks down at her fingers, playing around with them. “i know that i’m not good and all,” youngbin musters up the courage to start, “i was ok with dancing in groups of two...” he stops to take a breath, “but heeseung made us dance one by one, i understand why you needed to see us one by one, i felt horrible and was really humiliated.” ellie’s breathing hitched, “if i’m being honest, i cried...i cried.” he sighs, finally expressing his feelings. an uneasy air filled the room, “we shouldn’t be worrying right now.” heeseung starts, ellie’s head turns towards him, “if we voted for someone to lead us, then we should trust and follow that person...we’re running out of time.” ellie felt for both sides. she knew how youngbin felt, the dreading feeling of having to perform in front of many people when he wasn’t ready to, but she also saw where heeseung was coming from. it was a bit unfair, you know? from ellie’s eyes, it seemed like they were blaming heeseung for everything...but she knew in her heart that he just wanted what was best for the team, it may have come off as a bit aggressive, but he was trying his best, giving up most of his own practice time to help the rest of the trainees. she witnessed him the other day, alone in the small corner room, looking distressed, but she decided to leave him be. “it’s fitting that heeseung is in the center, but you’re really good and you keep hanging out with those who are good, so the team’s balance is off...that’s what i personally.” daniel adds on. “i said this the first day, i predicted this...” heeseung nods his head and ellie’s eyebrows rise, “so on the first day, i said i didn’t want to be center. i knew it would result in this so that’s why i said that.” the boy starts biting his nails, a habit that ellie noticed he did every time he felt anxious, “it’s not about completing the choreography, but it has to look good...i wanted to lead you that way, but i didn’t tell you in advance, and planned on my own and got ahead of myself.” he admits, “i personally think that it’d be best if i’m not the center.” heeseung looks down at his lap, forfeiting his role as the center. everyone looks at him in shock, including ellie, “i really mean it.”  after a long meeting, ni-ki gets part 1 as the new center, while heeseung takes part 10. heeseung smiles at the young boy and slowly excuses himself from the room. ellie notices from afar and excuses herself as well.  carefully following the boy, her heart rate quickens. they both reach the corner room together, “hey ellie.” he says, turning around to smile at her, “wanna talk about it?” heeseung takes a seat, grabbing a cushion, “actually, could you just stay here with me?” ellie’s eyes widen and she quickly agrees, taking the empty seat next to him. “would you mind?” he says, gesturing to her shoulder, “oh, not at all!” he places his head on her shoulders and sighs. the silence was deafening. ellie wraps her arms around his head, ever so gently rubbing his beanie as a way to comfort the boy. that’s when the tears started. ellie’s eyes soften immediately and she looks up, trying not to let the tears spill, a tactic she learned from the last time, “it’s so hard, ellie.” heeseung says in between sobs, “i know, i know it is, but everything will work itself out, you did an amazing job.” hearing her words of encouragement made heeseung cry more, “shh, it’s alright, let it all out.” she rubs his shoulders. the two stayed in each other’s comforting presence for a good amount of time. the day had come, the countdown was getting closer and closer to 0, ellie was so anxious. “ellie! you look amazing!” jake compliments the girl, “same goes for you!” they laugh. “ellie and jake! let’s take a pic together!” heeseung calls the two over and ellie happily obliges.  they all had their mics on and ellie felt absolutely nauseous, but she held it down for the sake of the performance. she goes to the corner of the room to warm up her voice some more, “i-landers, please report to the stage.” ellie’s face drops. she grabs jakes hands and he squeezes it, “you’ll do great, mate.” ellie smiles at him, “the same goes for you, mate.” alright ellie, you got this.
Tumblr media
Mae had just begun putting herself back together right when Ron Weasley knocked her down again.
It hurt even more that she no longer had him as a best friend to turn to. She still had Ginny, Luna, and even Harry and Hermione, but she distanced herself as Ron and Lavender were present nearly all the time. They just couldn’t seem to get enough of each other.
A week had passed since Mae had seen Ron with Lavender, and Draco was finally back to classes after his stay in the hospital wing. He had surprised Mae by being cordial with her, even with Pansy at his side. Mae wasn’t quite sure what to make of it.
“Mae!”
Mae turned, her dark hair swishing behind her, to see Ginny hurrying towards her with a grin on her face.
“Yeah, Gin?” questioned Mae, falling into step next to the beautiful redhead.
“We’re having a party tonight, after the Quidditch game. Will you come?”
Mae paused, if only for a moment. Did she really want to spend her evening watching Ron and Lavender snog each other?
“Please? Luna will be disappointed if you don’t show.”
“Luna’s coming?” Mae avoided answering, bringing attention to Ginny’s girlfriend.
“‘Course she is! She’s even wearing her lion hat to the match,” Ginny shook her head good naturedly. “She said she’d rather support her girlfriend than her housemates.”
“Alright, fine,” conceded Mae, stopping at the Great Hall. “I’ll see you tonight.”
“You’re coming to the party?”
Mae and Ginny turned to see Ron standing half in and half out of the entrance, his arm wrapped in Lavender’s grasp. Mae raised an eyebrow at the sight, watching as the blonde nuzzled her head into Ron’s shoulder.
“Yes, Won Won. Have you got a problem with it?” Mae deadpanned, crossing her arms. Ginny stifled a laugh next to her, patting Mae on the shoulder before walking off, presumably heading to the Quidditch field.
Ron’s eyes narrowed. “No, but if you’ll have that attitude, perhaps you shouldn’t.”
“Shut it, Ron!” Ginny called over her shoulder before turning down the hallway.
“Let’s get to our seat,” Lavender tugged on Ron’s arm, giving a small wave to Mae. “Your hair looks pretty tied up like that.”
“Thanks, Lavender.” Mae responded, giving the girl a weak smile. It wasn’t her fault Ron was a git.
Ron was pulled away by Lavender, and Mae waited a moment before following them in. She sat at the Slytherin table, next to Blaise Zabini. He gave her a curt nod, mixing his sugar in his morning coffee. Draco and Pansy sat across the table from her, and she found it didn’t hurt as much anymore. She and Draco had closure, now. Mae hoped he would do better with Pansy.
“Are you cheering for your little Gryffindor, today?” asked Blaise, taking a sip of his coffee. Mae rolled her eyes, harshly stabbing her french toast.
“Ginny? Yes, of course I’m cheering for her.” Mae replied all too cheerily, knowing he didn’t mean her.
“Potter won’t be playing today,” said Draco, his tone more angsty than usual. “He’s serving detention with Snape.”
“Rightfully so, he nearly killed you.” Pansy scoffed, biting into her english muffin.
“He was just doing the Dark Lord a favor,” Blaise replied jokingly, cutting into his pancake.
Draco clenched his fork tightly in his hand. “Shut it, Zabini.”
Mae’s mouth had gone dry, and she faltered as she picked up her pumpkin juice. “The Dark Lord?”
“Don’t worry about it.” Draco muttered, pushing himself away from the table. He left without a backwards glance, leaving all three of them in the dust.
“Blaise, what did you mean?” questioned Mae, her concern for Draco growing.
“It was just a joke,” assured Blaise, shaking his head. “Apparently Draco left his ability to take one elsewhere.”
“Okay,” responded Mae, not thoroughly convinced. She pushed it out of her mind, however. Draco was no longer her concern.
The three ate their breakfast in silence, with the occasional comment about the Quidditch match of the day. They would all be attending, although Slytherin wasn’t playing. It was better than doing nothing, according to Pansy.
Mae had found that Pansy wasn’t so bad, if she could get past the fact that she had known she was Draco’s girlfriend the entire time she was sleeping with him. Although some days were harder than others, she found it tolerable to be around the girl.
Mae split up with the two after breakfast, making her way over to Luna who was indeed wearing her spectacular lion hat.
“Hello, Mae!” Luna greeted, giving the dark haired girl an engulfing hug. “Ginny told me you would be attending the party today!”
“Only for you, Luna,” Mae smiled at the girl, who gave her a wide grin in return.
Together, the two headed out to the Quidditch match, sunshine streaming from the sky. They sat in the middle of the stands, which quickly filled up as the game was about to begin.
“Whatever happened between you and Ronald?” Luna asked rather innocently, rearranging her lion head.
“Well,” Mae paused for a moment, before continuing. “He saw me with Draco in the hospital wing, after he was injured. He unfortunately assumed that I was back together with him.”
Luna nodded slowly, the great lion head nearly slipping off her scalp. “Did you tell him differently, then?”
“No,” considered Mae, biting her lip. “I didn’t. I assumed he, y’know, liked Lavender and not me. Obviously, with the way the two of them snog constantly.”
“Love,” Luna said softly, placing a hand on her arm. “You know Ronald is a bit unregistered. I suspect nargles, to be honest with you. How is he to know how you feel if you never told him?”
“Well, it isn’t like he ever asked me,” defended Mae. “He never once said he liked me. He probably just thought I was a friend, the whole time. Just like Hermione or Harry. He probably liked Lavender the entire time.”
“Did he ever say anything about Lavender?”
“No, but-”
“Did he ever even mention Lavender?”
“Well, not exactly-”
“So what makes you think he likes her?”
“Because he chose her over me!” Mae exploded, wincing when several people turned around to look at her. “He made it clear that she is what he wanted.”
“Or maybe, he got hurt when he saw you kissing my cousin.” Luna raised her eyebrows, giving Mae an unusually sharp look.
“Ginny told you?”
“Yes,” Luna nodded, turning her attention back to the game which had just started. “And if Ginny and I were getting close, and I saw her kissing Harry, I wouldn’t think she wanted me. I would move onto someone else so I didn’t get hurt.”
Mae was quiet at that, mulling the situation over in her head. Of course, what Luna said made sense. It usually did, and perhaps that was part of why Mae had been avoiding talking to Luna about the situation. Her pride and her heart refused to let her look at the big picture, instead just feeling the hurt and betrayal. Really, how was Ron to know if she never told him?
The game was spectacular, and Gryffindor ended up winning with four hundred and fifty to one hundred and forty. Luna and Mae cheered loudly as the score was announced, and Luna tugged on her lion hat causing a string of red and gold fireworks to shoot out of it, while a loud roar bellowed from its lips.
The two of them raced down to the grounds, eager to congratulate their friends. Mae felt a tug in her chest as Ron gave her a wide grin, sweaty and rife with excitement.
“You did so well, Ron!” complimented Mae, giving him a wide smile.
Ron responded by giving her a big hug, lifting her off the ground. Mae held back tightly, relishing the feeling of his strong arms wrapped around her. She never wanted to leave his arms.
“Won Won!”
Lavender’s voice broke the two out of their embrace, and Ron slowly set Mae back down on the ground, his arms hesitantly releasing her. Lavender rushed into his arms, Mae narrowly stepping out of her way.
The blonde began attacking Ron’s face with kisses, to the point where Madam Hooch had to come over and reprimand the two for PDA. Mae felt her heart break more and more, each time Ron and Lavender’s lips collided.
She turned her attention fully onto Ginny, who had an arm wrapped around Luna, who was praising Ginny for her amazing broom work.
“Great job, Gin!” the words came out far too cheerily, and Ginny gave her a sympathetic smile.
“Thank you. Even if Harry wasn’t able to play, we still did it.” Ginny’s eyes flickered over to Ron and Lavender, before miming shoving a finger down her throat in disgust.
Mae laughed, shaking her head.
Eventually, everyone headed back up to the Gryffindor common room where the party began in full swing. Firewhiskey was pulled from Dean and Seamus’ secret stash, butterbeer was passed around, and treats were already there courtesy of the House Elves. Dobby, Harry Potter’s closest elf, had made sure they were stocked with everything they may have needed.
Ginny, Luna, and Mae sat near the fire, and were soon joined by Ron, Lavender, Hermione, and eventually Harry, who was worn out from his detention with Snape. His mood changed, however, once he was told Gryffindor had won the match. They began drinking, and were soon joined by Dean and Seamus.
Mae noticed Harry and Hermione were sitting rather close, and Hermione kept blushing anytime his arm or hand grazed her. It made her smile, at the thought of the two together. They would make a good match, certainly.
Ginny sat between Luna’s legs, her head resting on the blonde’s chest as Luna’s nimble fingers wound through Ginny’s hair. Every so often, Ginny would turn her head and press kisses to Luna’s arm. She kept her arm wound around Luna’s thigh, tracing circles on her exposed skin.
Dean was sprawled out over Seamus’ chest, laughing loudly at the conversation they were all having. They had their hands intertwined, sharing the same armchair. It looked to be a bit of a tight fit, but the two boys certainly didn’t mind.
Ron had Lavender seated on his lap, his head resting on her shoulder and a hand on her hip. The beautiful girl kept pressing kisses to his cheek, or his neck, or his lips, ignoring the way he seemed to be uncomfortable with the amount of PDA she was putting out.
It absolutely hurt Mae to be surrounded by so many couples, including one with the boy she was in love with. As much as she wished it weren’t true, she had fallen in love with Ron Weasley. To her, it felt as though she had transferred the love and devotion she reserved for Draco onto Ron. She supposed it may not be healthy, but she couldn’t help what she felt. And that was what hurt the most.
Somewhere along the line, Ginny proposed they play truth or dare. It wasn’t the most innocent game, but it was all going smoothly until they were all so drunk they may as well have taken Veritaserum.
“Ron,” Ginny’s eyes had taken on an evil look, and she narrowed them as she stared at her brother. “I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the room.”
At this point, Lavender had fallen asleep next to Ron on the loveseat. Ron, after hearing the question, swallowed hard and turned to Mae.
Mae’s breath caught in her throat, and she stared at Ron as he walked over to her. He cupped her cheek with his large hand and leaned down to her face.
“Don’t,” Mae whispered, shutting her eyes.
But he did. Ron pressed his lovely lips against Mae’s, slipping his arms around her neck. Tears slipped from her eyes, and she roughly pushed him away. How dare he play with her feelings like that.
“You aren’t going to do this to me, Ronald,” cried Mae, stumbling towards the portrait hole. “You don’t get to play with my feelings like this.”
She stumbled drunkenly through the halls, trying her best to be as quiet as she could. The last thing she wanted was for a teacher to find her, blasted at four in the afternoon on Saturday. That wouldn’t bode well for her at all.
“Mae, wait!”
She stumbled, catching herself at the last second, turning to see Ron hurrying towards her. His eyes had lost the drunken glaze they had taken on in the Common Room, and his movements were much more fluid than her own.
“What could you possibly want, Ronald?” spit out Mae, uncaring that her voice was perhaps a little too loud in the otherwise quiet hallway.
“Can we talk?” Ron paused, his eyes flickering towards the wall. “In there. Please.”
“Where the bloody hell did that even come from?” questioned Mae, bewildered that the door had appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
“It’s the room of requirement,” explained Ron, opening the door. “Let's get in here, before a teacher catches you plastered off your arse.”
Mae rolled her eyes, but followed Ron inside. There was a plush looking couch, and a table with a pitcher of a pale yellow liquid, with two cups beside it. It reminded her of lemonade, and she suddenly felt parched.
Mae poured herself a glass, ignoring Ron’s protests. As she drank the liquid, her mind cleared of the foggy drunken haze it had been in.
“That’s disappointing,” grumbled Mae, setting the empty cup back down. “It sobers you up.”
“This room never fails at its purpose.” a grin slipped onto Ron’s face, and it hurt Mae at how handsome he looked.
Ron also took a glass of the liquid, downing it in one go. Mae watched, intrigued, as his Adams apple bobbed up and down with his gulps.
“Ron, I-”
“Mae, look-”
The two blushed as they both spoke at the same time, and uneasy laughter coming between them. Ron gestured towards the couch, and they both sat down; Mae criss crossed on the edge, Ron sitting next to her with one leg on and one leg off, facing her.
“Mae, I never fancied Lavender,” Ron confessed, his ears red as he spoke, his voice shaky. “I only started snogging her because I saw you and Draco. I figured you’d gone back to him.”
Mae shook her head, brushing her hair out of her face. “Ron, Draco broke my heart. I would be foolish to go back to him. I kissed him, after he was injured, for closure. Perhaps that doesn’t make much sense, but it is what it is.”
“That’s why I was so mad you know,” he responded quietly, averting his eyes. “He nearly destroyed you, he treated you awful, and then just when I thought.. You might fancy me.. You kissed him.”
A new burn of tears were behind Mae’s eyes. She laughed weakly, although there wasn’t much funny about the situation. “Ron, I did -do- fancy you. Quite a lot, actually. But I figured Lavender-”
“Lavender was nothing to me,” Ron interjected, his eyes finding her. “You are what I wanted. It just never made sense for you to want me back.”
“How could it not make sense?” Mae laughed again, swiping away tears that had slipped down her cheeks. “Ron, you’re.. Wonderful. You’re funny, you’re kind, you’re unbelievably handsome-”
“Rubbish-” interrupted Ron once more, his ears now red, pink staining his cheeks. “That’s rubbish. I’m not nearly enough for you.”
“You are,” Mae responded sharply, taking his hand in hers. “You are what I want. You’re what I need.”
Ron met her eyes again, and leaned forward just as he had in the Gryffindor common room. Mae met him in the middle, locking her arms around his neck as their lips pressed together once more.
Ron wrapped his arms around her waist, gently caressing the smooth skin that was exposed from her shirt riding up. Their lips moved together gently as first, before becoming heated. Mae parted her lips, and Ron pulled away. “Why’d you stop?” Mae whined, pouting as she pressed her forehead against his.
“It’s just..” Ron cleared his throat. “I know you’ve been with Draco, and I dunno if I would be any goo-”
It was Mae’s turn to cut Ron off, once again pressing her lips to his. She licked his bottom lip, making her intentions clear, and he parted his lips, allowing her tongue to explore his mouth. He began to get more comfortable with her, slipping his hands up her shirt to unclip her bra, dragging her shirt over her head with shaky hands. Mae smiled, before helping him do the same.
“Blimey,” Ron whispered, looking down at Mae’s exposed breasts. “You’re gorgeous.”
“So are you,” Mae replied, pausing as she saw Ron’s bare arms and chest for the first time. He had silver scars wrapped around his arms, and torso. “What happened?”
She trailed a finger across the scar, and Ron shifted uncomfortably.
“When we fought the Death Eaters in the ministry of magic last year,” Ron explained, wrapping his arms around her. “I got hurt. I’ll have these forever.”
“A mark of a hero,” said Mae softly, pressing a kiss to a rather deep looking one across his chest. “You’re so brave.”
Ron looked at her with a new hunger in his eyes, pressing her bare skin against his and pressing his lips to hers in a harsh kiss. This time, he explored her mouth, as his hands roamed her soft skin. Mae melted against his body, a faint moan vibrating in the back of her throat, pulling at his fiery hair. Ron groaned at that, pushing her down onto the couch and kissing her neck.
Mae wrapped her legs around Ron’s torso, her hands still fisted in his hair. Ron nipped at the sensitive skin at the base of her neck, his teeth grazing across her skin. Mae moaned, grinding her hips onto his growing hardness.
“Bloody hell,” grunted Ron, his lips pressing against hers again. His hands went to her breasts, his thumbs flicking over her nipples, smirking as she moaned into his mouth. Mae trailed her lips down Ron’s neck, sucking harshly at his skin. He tilted his head back, letting more of his neck become exposed to her.
Mae pressed kisses along his neck, coming back up to capture his lips. Ron’s hands trailed down her stomach, toying with the hem of her skirt. He pulled away slightly, giving her a questioning look. Mae nodded, and Ron slipped his hand into the waistband of her skirt. He pressed his large palm against her heat, the thin covering of her underwear being the only thing separating skin from skin.
“Please, Ron,” moaned Mae, pressing a harsh kiss to his neck. “Please.”
“Only because you asked so nicely,” Ron smirked, before slipping a finger into her core, pumping in and out slowly.
He slowly added another finger, pumping faster. He pressed a kiss to her neck as he went, and Mae began to feel her stomach tighten, and she shut her eyes, letting out a string of moans.
“I’m gonna cum,” she gasped out, her toes curling. She arched her back as Ron kept up his pace, and she came on his fingers, something that seemed to have shocked him.
“Did you just?” questioned Ron, pausing in his actions to look at her with interest.
Mae nodded, relishing in the feeling of her orgasm. A smile broke across Ron’s face, and he let out a nervous laugh.
“I’ve never done that before,” he said, raising his eyebrows.
“You were good at it for your first time then,” Mae let out a small laugh, covering her face with her hands. She felt a bit awkward, as this was much different than being with Draco. Ron wasn’t forcing her out, or expecting her to give him anything in return. It was so very different, in a good way.
It made her want to make him feel as good as he had made her feel.
Mae wiggled out from underneath Ron, ignoring his questioning look. As she brushed past him to stand, she could feel how hard he had gotten. Ron sat up, giving her a questioning look. She knelt down, unbuckling his belt and zipping down his jeans, smiling as his breathing grew heavy.
“What is you’re going-” Ron’s words were cut short as she took his dick in her hands, slowly moving up and down his length. “Bloody hell.”
She continued pumping his length, licking his red tip before taking him in her mouth. He let out a steam of moans, his hand wrapping in her hair. She swirled her head around the tip, bobbing her head up and down, moving back to focus on the tip. Ron pressed her head down further, groaning as she hollowed out her cheeks. She ran her tongue along the veins of his cock, loving the way he moaned her name.
He bucked his hips upwards, surprising Mae, and she made a noise in the back of her throat that caused Ron to curse. She sped up her movements, letting Ron guide her with his hand on the back of her head, twisted in her hair.
She could feel herself becoming aroused again, and she paused, letting go of his dick with a slight pop. Ron whined, upset that her mouth was no longer on his dick.
“Can we,” Mae paused, wiping her mouth and looking down, before looking at Ron once more. “Can I ride you?”
“Ride me?” Ron choked out, running a hand through his hair. “You don’t even have to ask, darling.”
Mae smiled at the nickname, her heart feeling like it would burst. She stood up, and put a knee on either side of Ron, hovering above his large dick. She looked at his once more, to make sure he wanted this too.
Ron wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her down onto his cock. Mae let out a gasp as he filled her up, grinding her hips against his member. Ron groaned, his fingers digging into her hips. She took a moment to let herself adjust to his size, before moving her hips up and down.
He kept a grip on her hips as he began thrusting his hips to match her own, moaning as she clenched around him. She held his shoulders, using them as leverage to move up and down. He matched her pace well, and Mae could feel another orgasm building in her lower stomach.
“‘M gonna cum,” she moaned out, noticing Ron’s thrusts become more sloppy.
“Me too,” Ron grunted, and with a loud moan, he came inside her, his hips stilling. She came nearly the same time he did, burying her head into his shoulder.
“Bloody hell,” Ron had his eyes shut, a half smile on his face. “That was amazing.”
Mae laughed lightly, moving off of him to sit next to him. She found herself unsure of what to do, as she was never allowed to be intimate after sex before.
Ron seemed to sense her uneasiness, and pulled her onto his chest, lying down on the couch. He pressed a kiss to her lips, before tangling his hand in her hair once more. Mae lay her head on his chest, listening to his fast heartbeat.
“I love you,” she said quietly, feeling Ron freeze underneath her. “I don’t expect you to say it back, but I wanted you to know.”
Ron wrapped his arms around her, kissing her temple softly. “I think I love you too.”
It was quiet for a moment, before Ron spoke again.
“Am I bigger than Draco?”
Mae lightly slapped his chest, shaking her head. “We are not having this conversation.”
“It’s an honest question!”
They lay there, arms wrapped around each other, and Mae realized she was finally loved the way she always wanted to be.
I’m actually pretty proud of this part and i would love to write a part 3 and actually make this a series if you like it so give me feedback or tell me what you would like to see in the next part. Thank you!
Part 1
Tumblr media
“Okay I have clients coming in a few minutes so enjoy the party and stay out of trouble” Sharon stands up, walking out of the room.
“Trouble” Zemo holds up his glass of whiskey.
“I think we should change” y/n looks at the clothes hanging by the wall, noting that they are still wearing their combat clothes. She can see multiple dresses but there are men’s clothes as well.
They all change out of their older clothes, the men giving y/n space to do it. She chose a simple black dress, appropriate for a party and she looks mesmerising. Bucky couldn’t see with the tactical gear on but she has a really nice figure which makes him stare at her a little longer than he should. Sam notices and decides to speak up.
“You clean up nice y/n” he smiles at her. This shakes Bucky out of his staring, realising what he was doing.
“Thanks. I’ve never really wore something like this before… you know with the whole Harcos thing and all” she shows a small smile.
“By the way, what language is that? I’ve never heard it before” Sam furrows his eyebrows, confused.
“Oh, it’s Hungarian, it means warrior” she rolls her eyes, clearly not amused by the name “I’m hungarian so I guess they thought it was fitting”
“Ah Hungary, what a nice place” Zemo speaks up “nice people too”
“If misogyny, racism and homophobia is nice to you I guess you’re right” y/n sends a sarcastic smile to him.
“We should go up into the party” Bucky intervenes before the conversation can escalate.
“Won’t people recognise you?” Sam asks y/n.
“Nah, I had a mask when I was forced to do the things I did. Not many people got to see my face and lived to tell about it” Bucky shudders, knowing exactly what she was talking about. Sam nods, holding the door open for her “thank you Sam”
The party is already in full swing, groups of people dancing to the music and others looking at the artwork that is displayed across the room. The three men with y/n walk over to the bar, trying to not bring any attention to themselves. They order drinks while waiting for Sharon to get the information. Bucky catches y/n looking at him from where she is sitting. He lifts his eyebrows in question.
“What are you looking at?” he shouts over the loud music.
“You” she is teasing him. He knows it, but that doesn’t mean he can’t play along with her.
“And what about me is so interesting that it got you looking at me instead of the party that’s happening around you?” Bucky tilts his head.
”That will be my secret” she winks at him. Bucky feels like he can’t breath for a second. She suddenly drowns her drink in one swift motion and stands up “I’m assuming you don’t want to dance with me” she grins.
“How can you even dance to music like this?” he asks, genuinely confused. The music back in his days was much better and what they did was actually dancing and not this… thing they are doing now. She looks away laughing. Her eyes catch something that makes her laugh even more.
“I think you should ask Zemo about that” she points at the man showing rather questionable dance moves. Bucky looks at him barely being able to hold his own laughter “well I’ll go mingle with the prime citizens of Madripoor” she does a small wave with her hand, walking away. Bucky watches her leave and doesn’t take his eyes off of her until she disappears in the crowd.
“Does our cyborg man have a crush?” Sam speaks up, having watched the whole interaction between them. Bucky whips his head in his direction, just realising that the other man was there the whole time.
“Definitely not” he answers “we were just talking”
“Talking? Sounded awful lot like flirting to me” Sam grins, making fun of the older man.
“We were not flirting” Bucky shakes his head and looks away to watch the crowd again. Sam only smiles to himself and stops pushing because Sharon appears next to them.
Y/N walks through the dancing people, just looking around and trying to absorb everything. She has never been to a party before, at least not while she was in control of her actions. She caught sight of Zemo again, who was still dancing. It was weird to see the very dangerous criminal just tearing it up on the dance floor. Suddenly someone grabs her hand from behind and turns her around. She almost hits the stranger in the head, but she quickly realises that it’s Bucky holding her. The crowd around them continues dancing, not paying any mind to the two super-soldiers standing among them.
“Hi” she smiles at him. They are standing so close to each other that their chests are almost touching and he is still holding her hands to his chest. Y/n has to tilt her head up so she can look in his eyes. She’s never been this close to a man before that wasn’t during a fight or in a threatening situation. She decides she likes it. Y/n doesn’t know if it’s because it’s Bucky who’s here with her or she would feel like this with any man, but she suddenly gets the urge to stand on her tiptoes and press her lips to his “You came here to dance with me?” she jokingly asks to get the image out of her head.
“You will have to wait for another party for that, Sharon got the information we need so we have to go” Bucky looks into her eyes his pupils slightly dilated, almost as if he was thinking the same thing. He starts lightly pulling her along, out of the crowd.
The next morning they are walking through the containers looking for the one that has Dr. Nagel in it.
“Okay this is the one” Sharon stops them in front a container. She hands them earpieces. Y/n feels a little nervous about meeting the man who turned her into what she is today. Bucky notices her fidgeting and puts his hand on her shoulder to reassure her. She gives him a small smile, grateful that he is here for her. She is wearing the same tactical gear she did when they first met which, crazy enough, was only yesterday. They walk through the door only to find it completely empty. Sam asks Sharon if she is sure it’s the right one and she tells them that it has to be. Zemo walks to the end of it and pushes only to find a hidden door.
“Fancy” y/n remarks, walking through it after Sam. They walk up the stairs and find a lab with music playing from a record player. Sam takes the needle off the record. Nagel turns around, scared.
“Dr. Nagel? We know you created the super-soldier serum” Sam says calmly.
“Get out of my lab” Nagel starts walking towards the door, but then sees Y/n standing there with a gun in her hand. The anger in her eyes is enough to stop him “Harcos” he says and she grits her teeth together.
“Do not call me that” she tries to stay calm.
“Jelentsd a feladatod, Harcos” he starts talking in Hungarian. State your mission, Warrior. She falters for a second, not having heard her language in a while. Selby only talked to her in English. Bucky looks at her worried as she points her gun at Nagel and takes the safety off.
“Az nem fog megtörténni” she answers. Not gonna happen. Sam looks between them, also worried for her. He thinks they shouldn’t have brought her with them, they didn’t think this through. What if Nagel knows the words and uses her against them? “Now why don’t you tell us about the serum you’re working on?” she switches back to English and pushes him back into a chair, her gun still pointed at him.
“I was brought into Hydra’s Winger Soldier program to pick up their work” he starts talking “after that I was recruited by the CIA. They had a blood sample that had semi-stable traces of serum in it” he looks at y/n who is still pointing her gun at him but this time he doesn’t cower in fear “after much labour, I was able to isolate the necessary compounds in it and that’s when I made her. The only successful outcome from over 40 tries” he stops for a second and Bucky can see a hint of something in his eyes. Before he can pin point what it is Nagel speaks again “Tizenhét” he says suddenly and y/n is immediately in front of him with her gun under his chin. Seventeen. The look in her eyes show that she is ready to kill.
“Say another word and you get a bullet in your head” she says through her teeth trying really hard to not shoot him right then and there.
“What did he say?” Sam asks not understanding the reaction from her.
“What do you call it? Trigger word?” Nagel smiles at her even though his life is on the line. The three men tense at the mention of that. Bucky steps next to her and for a moment she thinks he is going to pull her away but instead he also points his gun at Nagel.
“I will not hesitate” he says gesturing towards his gun.
“Do not worry, I only know the first word” he says, amused, but his eyes seem honest. They think about it for a second but pull their guns away from his head. Bucky looks at her, trying to catch her eyes. She looks back with a very small hint of tears in her eyes. He gets the urge to hug her but he knows he can’t do that right here so he only shows her a small encouraging smile.
“As I said: you try to say something about this and you won’t have time to finish that word” she starts walking away from Nagel “And you didn’t make me”she says as she stands next to a table, referring to his earlier statement “Continue” she orders him. So he does. He tells them about Karli and the woman called Donya Madani. He finishes with details about his serum, how it’s not like the ones before.
“I was a god” Nagel smiles like the crazy person he is “before I turned to dust and then Karli stole it” Y/n feels her angel boil and she lets it loose again.
“You are not a god” she shouts and slams her fist down on the table, a few vials falling down and breaking on the ground. Nagel flinches and tries to make himself smaller in his chair, immediately sensing the danger he is in. She lifts up her hand, realising that the table is now bent and you can see her fist’s outline in it “You are not a god” she repeats a little more calmly, but the anger can still be seen in her eyes “You never were and never will be. You just took in children who had nothing and tried to turn them into your version of the Winter Soldier” Bucky can’t help but feel like it’s his fault that she is in this situation. If the Winter Soldier didn’t exist y/n wouldn’t have had to go through these horrible things. She walks closer to the doctor “We were never asked if we wanted this. You told us it was some vaccine you were giving us and not the serum” while she is talking none of them see Zemo go around and get a gun from under one of the tables.
“Guys we are seriously out of time here” Sharon comes in and as soon as the rest of them don’t pay attention to Nagel, Zemo shoots him. Sam immediately takes the gun from him but it’s too late.
“What did you do?” he shouts at the other man but before he can answer the place blows up sending all of them backwards to the floor. Their ears are ringing and they can barely breathe. Zemo is the first to get up and he leaves them behind. Bucky gets back his senses quickly and searches for the rest to see if they are okay. Y/n is next to him trying to make sense of what happened and being a super-soldier she gets up at the same time as Bucky and helps Sam up while Bucky helps Sharon. They run outside as quickly as they can and realise that they are surrounded by people who are ready to kill them.
“Alright wait for my signal” Bucky speaks up, ready to take lead. Sam doesn’t listen to him and just runs out to take shelter “damn it” they start shooting with their pistols that they got from Sharon. Bucky stands next to y/n as his gun runs out of bullets. The both of them retreat to where Sam and Sharon are with y/n protecting his back.
“I thought we were gonna go left?” Bucky shouts at Sam.
“You went the wrong way” Sam answers, also shouting.
“I was clearing the way”
“I came out first. You were supposed to follow me”
“And where are we now” they go back and forth in the middle of the fight, like an old married couple.
“Can we talk about this later? We are kind of in the middle of something here!” Y/n interrupts them, trying to get them to focus. She and Sharon are still shooting.
“It’s in every action movie” the two men don’t even acknowledge her. Zemo appears on the top of a container in a purple mask and shoots at a pipe that blows up, giving the others enough time to get away. There are still people shooting at them as they run through the alleys. A man appears behind them and y/n kicks him hard enough that he flies across the open space and hits one of the containers. He falls to the ground unconscious. Another woman is in front of them and Bucky rips one of the pipes from the door and impales her with it. Y/n looks at him, impressed.
“You’ll have to teach me that” she grins. Bucky rolls his eyes, grabs her waist and pulls her inside. They punch the door open on the other side and Zemo shows up in a very nice looking car. It’s supercharged he says. Sam is ready to send him back to jail but Bucky reminds him that they need him to find Karli. Y/n agrees so she goes and sits behind Zemo. Bucky gets in the passenger seat while Sam sits next to her. They say goodbye to Sharon and Sam promises her that pardon. Before Zemo starts driving Bucky turns to y/n.
“You okay?” he asks.
“Yeah” she answers with a little smile.
Jinx!
Remember when I talked about the idea of Janine and Felix jinxing each other when they go to propose at the same time? Yeah, what better day to share the result with the world than Felix’s birthday :D
------------
Janine didn’t think she’d ever seen Felix voluntarily sit still this long in all the time she’d known him. If he were human she’d be wondering if he’d fallen asleep. And they weren’t even watching a movie or anything.
That had been the plan when Nate shooed them out of the kitchen, but then they’d plunked down on Felix’s bed all cuddled up and neither could be arsed to find the remote. This was good, too. And surprised as she was at him not turning into a fidgety mess after two minutes, she was enjoying it too much to tease. They so rarely got to just be, without peril and running around and other stuff. This was nice.
“I like having you all to myself,” she commented, snuggling closer.
Felix didn’t reply, and Janine arched a brow. Maybe he had actually fallen asleep.
“Babe.” She poked him in the ribs and he yelped as he twitched away. “Ah, you are awake.”
“Yeah, sorry, I was thinking. About how amazing you are,” he added before she could ask, tone genuine and mischief in his eyes.
Janine giggled. Anyone else, she’d think they were buttering her up with a line like that out of the blue, but not him. “Well, don’t let me distract you.”
Felix grinned at her. “By all means, babe, distract away.”
“In that case...” Janine rolled from her position tucked under his arm to straddle his lap, her skirt pooling over his legs and her arms loosely around his neck. “Care to stroke my ego a little and share what makes me amazing?”
“Aside from everything?” Felix snorted, but the sincerity in his eyes belied the teasing tone. “Your smile, your laugh, the way you wanna help people...” his arms slid around her waist, “...your happiness, you have a way with words that could charm a banshee out of a snit” --he stole a kiss-- “But I’m glad you decided I was a better use of your talents.” Another kiss, slightly longer. “What else.... that little wiggly-bounce you do when you’re excited. And you have great taste in men-”
She kissed him, hands braced against the wall, then laughed, giddy, breathless, overwhelmed he’d reeled that off so quickly. “That’s quite a list.”
“Didn’t get to my favorite one yet,” Felix murmured, breath warm against her cheek. “You stuck around.”
“Felix...” She kissed him again, one hand curving the back of his neck and her thumb brushing over the hair at his nape. “I’m not going anywhere,” she promised softly, resting her forehead against his. “I like the rest of the team too much, and I love you.”
His breath caught, pulse jumping against her fingertips. “I love you, too.”
She loved when he said it like that; like it was a secret just for them, a treasure too precious by half, a truth that couldn’t be contained in words. It made her heart swell, made her want to throw caution to the wind, shout from the roof of the warehouse, something to tell him and the world how much he meant to her.
There was something. It was the very definition of throwing caution to the wind, of impulsivity, but there wasn’t anything wrong with that. “Felix-”
“Janine-”
“Will you marry me?” One question fell from two pairs of lips in the same moment, and all other emotions--surprise, elation, wild excitement--were momentarily eclipsed by playground rules from when she was six, and Janine whooped, “Jinx!”
At the same moment as Felix.
Half a second later, realization clawed out from under schoolgirl habit and grey eyes met gold, both wide with glee and horror in equal measure.
Shit. Janine clapped  hand over her mouth to hold back a giggle. What do we do?! she tried to ask with just her eyes. If vampires, werewolves, and various other supernatural forces were real, no way in hell was she messing with a jinx. It might actually give her bad luck.
Felix looked just as flummoxed--and amused--as she felt. He shrugged and bit his lip. Great.
Janine’s phone chimed as she tried to work out the easiest way to fix this  When she wiggled it out of her pocket, there was a text from Tina. Need you at the station. Should be quick 🤞. She wrinkled her nose and turned the phone to show Felix the text.
He nodded, eyes still laughing, and tugged her in for one more quick kiss before she climbed off the bed and hunted down her flats.
This might be a good thing, she mused as she headed for her car. If Tina greeted her by name it would break the jinx, she could handle this ‘quick’ problem, and come back to say ‘Yes, Felix’ and unjinx him if he still needed it. Yeah, this was good.
---
Tina greeted her with an apologetic smile. “Hey. sorry to bother you on your day off, but the Captain decided these need to go to the big city” --she jostled the case files in her arms-- “and I need the detective’s signature.”
Janine nodded, fighting down  glower that Tina hadn’t used her name(but of course today would fall in the handful of occasions that happened). She got a pen from her desk and spread the files out to start signing off. There were only five, and Tina kept up a stream of chatter about her post-shift plans--never once saying Janine in the whole ramble. It was as she finished checking and signed the last file Tina poked her in the shoulder.
“Hey. You’re being awful quiet,” she pointed out, brow furrowed. “Are you mad at me?”
Janine shook her head..
Tina’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Just not feeling chatty today?”
Janine wrinkled her nose and shrugged, and Tina’s eyes lit up.
“Oh, my god, you got jinxed, didn’t you?!” she crowed as she collected the files.
Janine huffed grumpily and raked back hair that had fallen from her bun.
Tina grinned. “Who got you?”
Janine curved her hands to form a heart against her chest and fluttered her eyelashes.
“Felix?!” Tina’s grin went wider and decidedly mischievous “So I guess now you need to be unjinxed, huh?”
Janine nodded, pressing her palms together in a pleading gesture.
Tina tapped one finger against her chin and smirked. “Now, let’s see, what do I want in return for this favor....? Any ideas, J- oh, right, I’m on my own for this one.”
Janine pouted and lightly whacked her friend’s shoulder in protest. That’s not fair!
“I’d play nice if I were you, my friend,” Tina teased, wagging a finger. “Give me another second to think.”
Janine managed to control herself while Tina stroked her chin in exaggerated thought, but internally she was making strangling motions.
“I know,” Tina finally said with a giggle. “How’s a baker’s dozen pastries from Haley’s sound? Fair trade?”
You and your sweet tooth. Janine bit back a smile as she nodded. If that’s what it takes, fine.
“Promise?”
She rolled her eyes and made a heart-crossing gesture. Best I can do.
Tina grinned. “You’re the best, Janine.”
“No, you are,” Janine said fervently, wrapping her in a quick, tight hug. “I’ll get you the pastries tomorrow when they’re fresh, right now I have to go.” She darted for the door. “Thanks, Tina!”
“You’re making me think I should have aimed higher!” Tina hollered after her. “Like rights on being your bloody maid of honor or something!”
Janine snorted a laugh at the irony but didn’t even slow down.  She could explain later.
----
Felix had never been good at patience, but this was even worse than usual. He paced his room with bouncing steps for all of thirty seconds before even that wasn’t enough and he headed out to find... someone.
Mason was on patrol, Rebecca had been called to some meeting.... Maybe if he tried to sneak back into the kitchen he could get Nate to scold him and that would do the trick.
But Nate wasn’t in the kitchen anymore when Felix got there. His face crinkled in disappointment and he lightly kicked the bottom edge of the counter.
He needed to be unjinxed by the time Janine got back. Even if this quick problem stayed quick to fix, he didn’t want to wait. He wanted to be able say ‘Yes, absolutely, just try to stop me!’ as soon as she walked in.
Of course, the fact they’d both asked was sort of a yes on its own, wasn’t it? Felix eyed the fresh tray of cookies sitting atop the stove and shook his head. Didn’t matter. He wanted to actually say it.
Denied freedom via scolding, Felix wandered back out of the kitchen in search of Nate or Adam or somebody. The few agents he passed in his quest nodded politely but all looked too preoccupied to stop and help him. Somewhere in his random meanderings, he started picking up the sound of rhythmic blows and he grinned. Shoulda know Adam would be working out. His route became much more deliberate as he started making his way to the training room.
Adam was clearly focused--though no doubt noticed he had company--so Felix waited by one of the benches for a... safer feeling moment to finagle what he needed out of the team leader. It didn’t take long--though it felt like an eternity to Felix--for Adam to finish the series of moves he’d been... rehearsing? Practicing? Whatever you’d call it, he’d actually left the practice dummy in one piece this time. Normally Felix would jokingly applaud his restraint just to get an eyeroll.
“Did you need something?” Adam asked without turning around. He wasn’t even breathing hard.
Felix wrinkled his nose and hunched his shoulders. This isn’t gonna work unless you look at me, he grumbled silently.
Adam turned with a frown creasing his brow. “I do not feel like playing games, Felix. What-”
Yes! Felix pumped one fist and grinned. “No, nothing, I’m good, thanks.” That was easier than I thought it would be.
Adam’s frown deepened, suspicion mingled with annoyance now. “Then why are you here?”
“Don’t worry about it, not important anymore.” Felix started edging toward the door.
“Felix.”
“Ugh, fine.” Adam was going to think this was silly, he knew he would, but the older vampire looked ready to haul him up by his collar and let him dangle until he explained. He wouldn’t, probably, but explaining was the path of least resistance, and Felix was fond of those. Knew I shoulda looked for Nate.
Just as he opened his mouth, however, the training room door burst open to reveal Janine, loose wisps of hair hanging in her face and determined excitement burning so bright in her grey eyes it brought out the matching stripes in her dress. She hesitated a fraction of a second after catching his eye, probably worried about a repeat.
Felix was too excited to share her concern and launched himself toward her with a loudly whooped, “YES!!!”
She was giggling as he crashed into her, as she stumbled back into the door, as their hands latched onto each others’ clothes, laughing as she kissed him, deep enough he saw fireworks. Which was fitting because this deserved celebration.
It wasn’t until a deep, long-suffering sigh rumbled out of Adam they remembered they had an audience. “Do I want to know?”
Felix and Janine broke apart, grinned at each other, and both started rattling off explanations. Felix shut up a few sentences in; Janine was doing a much better job explaining that he would have. Besides, this way he got to look at her. At the way her eyes lit up, the extra wisps of hair curling and bobbing around her face as she reeled off an enthusiastic play by play of the events leading to now. She looked like she was glowing, or maybe that was just the light through the high windows, but Felix liked the thought of her glowing better.
Adam had a very skeptical eyebrow arched by the time she finished. “Jinxes are mere superstition, Detective. They cannot cause you harm because they are not real.”
“Says the vampire,” Janine shot back immediately with a grin and arched brow of her own.
Felix barely swallowed a whoop as he slung an arm around her shoulders and turned to grin at Adam. “She makes an excellent point.”
“Supernatural races existing outside legend is a different matter entirely,” Adam insisted, then shook his head as if dismissing the matter entirely. He ran a searching look over the two of them. “This... development will bring up things to discuss, but,” one corner of his mouth tipped upward. “I am happy, for both of you.”
“Thanks, I’m happy for us, too,” Janine said brightly, shuffling herself and Felix out of the way as Adam headed for the door.
“Me, three,” Felix chipped in, kissing her on the cheek.
One small chuckle escaped Adam, and he offered them a single nod of approval before he left the room. Soon as the door closed behind him, Janine;s fingers dug into Felix’s scarf and she kissed him deeply, soundly, long enough to set lights sparking behind his eyes.
“Fireworks,” he whispered mischievously, and she grinned and kissed him again so they could see some more.
Forever Thoughts (Spencer Reid x BAU!Reader)
Summary: You accidentally overhear Spencer’s thoughts as he plans for your engagement.
Warnings: Some language.
Notes: you’re welcome for this pure fluff. this is part of my soulmate series if y’all haven’t read the other parts!!
Word Count: 1.5k
Masterlist
After a year and a half, you and Spencer’s relationship couldn’t be any better. You’ve been through so much together; learning how to control your soulmate connection, meeting each other’s family, working at the BAU together, and worst of all, when you had been kidnapped by a serial killer. The day you woke up in the hospital, Spencer had promised he’d never leave your side again. True to his word, Spencer was rarely more than a room away from you. That’s why you were surprised when Spencer said he had to run errands this morning, instead of wanting to spend your whole day off together.
“Errands? What errands?” You groggily asked. Spencer was already out of bed and dressed, but you had only woken up a few minutes ago.
“We’re deathly low on groceries, I have a care package to mail to my mom, plus Morgan asked me to help with something at the house he’s renovating.”
“Well when will you be back? We hardly ever get days off, and I wanna spend it with you.” As you spoke, you got out of bed, and pulled Spencer close to you.
“I’ll be back around lunchtime. 1 at the latest.” He promised, kissing you before you could complain. “I love you.” He thought as he deepened the kiss, despite your morning breath.
“I love you more.”
“Not possible.” With that finally thought, he pulled away, before heading out for his day.
~~~
You spent your morning alone in the apartment trying to get stuff done. You cleaned, did yours and Spencer’s laundry, took out the trash; everything that you guys didn’t have a lot of time for during cases. You and Spencer checked in with each other every hour or so, just to make sure everything is ok. As you began preparing lunch for you and Spencer for when he’d arrived home, however, you heard some thoughts that you were sure Spencer hadn’t meant for you to hear.
“Multiply the approximate diameter of her ring finger by pi, she should be a 7½…”
“That diamond is too big. Is that even a thing? Too big of a diamond?”
“Round diamonds are the most popular, but Garcia is always talking about princess cut diamonds…”
Usually, you and Spencer are pretty good at only sharing thoughts you actually wanted the other person to hear, but occasionally, especially if one or both of you were stressed out, some thoughts would fall through the cracks.
When you realized what you were hearing, you got so distracted you nearly let the chicken you were cooking burn. You weren’t even mad about nearly ruining the meal, because, holy shit, Spencer is going to propose to you.
~~~
The next week was absolute hell. Not because of a case, although you had been flown out to Missouri, but because of what you had learned on your day off. You tried your best to stay calm, not wanting Spencer to know that you knew he was going to propose, but every time the two of you were alone, your heart would start racing. Spencer caught on a few times, wondering what had you so worked up, but you were able to play it off on the case you guys were working on that week.
You’re 100% certain that Spencer had no idea you had overheard his thoughts about the ring. He hadn’t mentioned anything about it to you, and you hadn’t heard anymore thoughts about the ring or the proposal. If he had told any of the team about his plans, none of them let on that something was up; one of the downsides of working with profilers. They’re all good at hiding things.
Right now, the team is on the way back home from the case, which had ended relatively well. They’d caught the unsub, and saved 2 of the people he’d kidnapped. Spencer was knocked out on the other side of the plane, Hotch was filling out paperwork, and Rossi, Morgan, and Prentiss were playing an intense game of poker. JJ sat next to you reading a book you’d recommended to her. You had your own book open, but you couldn’t focus on it. Instead, your leg was incessantly tapping as you looked out a window.
“Ok, what’s wrong?” You head snapped over to JJ, who had closed her book to look at you. You winced, and looked down at your hands.
“Can you keep a secret?” You whispered, not wanting the others to hear. Luckily, Hotch was completely focused on work, and Morgan and Prentiss were way too busy accusing Rossi of cheating to notice you and JJ. JJ moved closer to you, leaning in.
“What’s up? Is there something going on with you and Spence?”
“Do you ever hear Will’s thoughts, even when he doesn’t want you to?”
“Sure,” JJ said, a bit confused about how this had anything to do with your weird attitude, “When he’s stressed out, sometimes a few thoughts peak through. Why, what’d you overhear?”
You let out a deep breath, then spoke, “Spencer bought an engagement ring, and he doesn’t know that I know.” JJ’s eyes and smile widened immediately, clearly relieved that there was nothing wrong.
“That’s amazing! Why’re you so stres-” She stopped herself, before her voice got serious again, “You’re not gonna say no, are you?”
“No! Of course not, I love him! I just can’t stand keeping this a secret anymore!” JJ laughed lightly at your response, causing you to glare at her. “It’s not funny! If he doesn’t pop the question soon I’m gonna go insane!” You said, jokingly hitting her when her giggling didn’t stop.
“I’m sorry! You and Spence are just both so stressed out about this, even though you both know you’ll say yes-” JJ suddenly realized what she said, and your eyes widened at her slip up.
“You know!?” You sat up, leaning towards  JJ.
“We all do, Mrs. Genius.” You looked towards Morgan, only to find the rest of the team staring back at you. Across the plane, Spencer was still sound asleep.
“What? What do you know, when is he gonna do it?” You asked, only to be met with silence. JJ reopened her book, Morgan, Prentiss, and Rossi picked up their playing cards, and Hotch went back to his paperwork with a light smile ghosting his face. “Are you serious? You guys won’t tell me anything?” After another moment of silence, you huffed in annoyance, before picking up your own book again.
~~~
Finally, the plane landed back in Quantico. The team refused to tell you anything about Spencer’s plans, and once Spencer woke up from his nap, you had to stop asking. Normally, you and Spencer would head straight home, but Spencer had his favorite book in the office and wanted to get it before you left. So, the two of you went into the FBI building, which was empty due to the late hour. When the elevator opened to the floor, however, your breath was taken away.
Spencer turned to look at you as you took in everything. The place was decked out; balloons, string lights, and all over the walls, pictures of you and Spencer.
“C’mon.” He thought, before taking your hand and pulling you out of the elevator. You let him walk you into the bullpen, still taking in everything he’d put together.
“When did you have time to do all this?” You asked, not understanding how he’d put it together while you were on a case.
“Let’s just say we owe Penelope and Kevin dinner sometime.” He answered, making you giggle lightly. Finally, Spencer stopped right next to his desk. He took a deep breath, and took both of your hands into his hands. You could already feel the tears forming in your eyes.
“I was sitting right here the first time I saw you. Y/N Y/L/N. My soulmate.” His voice cracked slightly, as a tear streamed down his own face. “The first thing I thought was , ‘Wow.’ because I was so taken with you. Before I even knew your name, I knew that you were it for me. That’s why I wanted to bring you here, to where our relationship first sparked…” He put his hand into his pocket, and pulled out the small ring box. “To ask you to continue to let me love you, everyday, for the rest of our lives.” He bent down onto his knee. At this point, tears were freely falling from your eyes, and you were smiling wider than you ever have before. “Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N. Will you marry me?”
“Yes!” Your answer came immediately, and Spencer immediately stood back up to kiss you. Your hands found his face as you kissed him happily. When you pulled away, Spencer wiped the tears from your face with a smile. Then, he pulled the ring from the box and slipped it onto your finger. “I love you so much.”
“I love you more.”
“Not possible.”
“Congratulations!” You turned your head to see the rest of the team watching cheering, and Penelope running to you and enveloping you in a hug. Your mind flashed back to the very first time she’d hugged you; the same day you met Spencer. You and Spencer hugged every member of the team, and you happily showed off your ring to the ladies.
As the team celebrated you and your fiancé, you could be nothing but excited to spend the rest of your life with Spencer Reid.

“Oh, darling, everybody sees how you look at him.” | Part III
You can find parts one and two here!
This is a continuation of a little series I started a while back based on a dialogue prompt! Feel free to read all the parts if you’d like, but it’s definitely not necessary :)
---
Part 3
2.4k words
Mentions: kissing, clitoral stimulation, orgasm, feelings of insecurity/anxiety (extremely mild)
---
It’s enthralling, watching the most powerful man in the galaxy sneak into your bedroom.
Kylo moves like a ghost, slipping over your windowsill as if it’s the easiest thing in the world, as if he didn’t just scale five stories to come here. He comes into the room in a swirl of cloak, dressed head-to-toe in black. You’d been expecting nothing less, though, knowing your Kylo all too well.
He pauses there in front of the window, just a tall, looming shadow in the darkness. If he were anyone else, anything else, you may have been frightened. But as Kylo stalks towards your bed, determined and vaguely predatory, all you can do is tremble with excitement.
It had been your idea, this whole melodramatic break-in. You’d said it half-jokingly at first, frustrated by the call of your grandmother’s voice from the other side of the palace gardens. She’d forced you and Kylo away from one another just as the two of you had begun getting tangled up, tongues sliding together as your hands roamed. Everything’s been like that between you lately, more desperate, more needy.
“I just want to be alone with you,” you’d whined, putting your hair and clothes back in place as Kylo led you back to your waiting grandmother. “Maybe you should just climb in my window and have your way with me.”
You’d almost laughed. Almost… Until you saw the look in Kylo’s eyes as he turned to face you. Your grandmother was too close then, she could have heard the both of you making plans if you spoke, but your suitor’s nod was all you needed to know that this was on. So now, here you are, an animal of prey in your own bedroom.
When Kylo kisses you for the first time, it’s like the two of you have never touched each other before in your lives. His tongue is hot in your mouth, hot enough to make heat pool in your stomach, and you tangle your hands in his hair just because you can.
“Were you frightened when you first saw me?” Kylo breathes, crowding into your space, kneeling before your perch on the side of your bed. It had made you so nervous and excited at the same time, the prospect of being with him in this setting. “You looked frightened.”
“No,” you say quickly, tongue-tied at the mere idea of telling Kylo how watching him climb into your room like it was nothing made your cunt throb between your thighs. No, you could never say something like that, not out loud— not to him.
Kylo’s mouth quirks up on one side, just the barest hint of a smug little smile, and then he’s kissing you again, rising from the floor as he cradles your face in his hands. Your stomach swoops as Kylo lays you out on your back, his body so heavy and solid above you. For the first time, it dawns on you what he could be here to do, and you begin to feel self-conscious. You’re sure that Kylo’s been with women before, women more beautiful than you could ever hope to be. The thought of that makes you feel less-than in this moment, makes you want to hide yourself away under fabric and blankets and anything else that could conceal your form.
“My darling,” Kylo declares, still studying the shape of you beneath him, “I can assure you that you put every one of my past lovers to shame.”
Fucking mind reader, you curse, drawing a laugh from your beloved.
“You’re the one who lets me in,” he chides, bringing your hand to his lips. You feel so vulnerable like this, fragile and small and delicate under Kylo. He’s so much bigger than you, broad and tall and strong, and the very idea of him pawing at your body picks at something hot and raw in your stomach.
“What are we going to do now that you’re here?” you ask quietly, fingers fidgeting in the covers. You’re sure Kylo came here to do more than kiss you, but you think you might like that. Might like more.
“Whatever you’d like,” he tells you, leaning down to kiss your neck now. He’s done this before, pressed his lips to your throat and your collarbones and the spot where your jaw meets your ear, but it’s different under these circumstances. The heat of Kylo’s body is all around you, the smell of the outside still thick on his clothes. And his hands, stars, his hands are all over you, on your sides, in your hair…
The both of you lie there like that for a moment, tongues sliding together in a way that makes your stomach swoop. Kylo makes an aborted move to put the both of you even further onto the bed, cussing under his breath about his shoes and, quote, “… all these fucking layers.” He shucks off the offending garments with haste, leaving you giggling on top of your covers as you watch him jerk off his boots and fumble with his belt. Your little laugh is staved off quickly, however, quieted by the way your lover unzips his tunic and leaves it behind with everything else. He’s not naked, not by any means, but the action still makes you blush.
“Kylo,” you say softly, breathing his name into the air. He looks strange like this, barefoot and dressed down before you. You like it, though, regardless. “I think I know what I want to do tonight.”
Your lover is silent as he crosses the room, though the bedframe creaks as he crawls back on top of you. “And what would that be, darling?”
Just as soon as you gather the courage to make your demands, your feelings of bravery dissipate, evaporated by Kylo’s close proximity and the very idea of him hearing you say the words. You clam up then, fingers pressed to your lips in embarrassment.
“My love,” Kylo chides, stroking your cheek with the back of his hand, “you have to say what you want. I need to hear it.”
That makes something inside you shiver, but still, you search for a way around this whole ordeal. “Come on, Kylo, I know you can see what’s in my head.”
“Yes, but I still want you to say it out loud. You have to be able to talk to me, it’s very important, especially during moments such as this.”
You huff at that, cheeks burning as you break Kylo’s gaze. He’s not going to let this go, is he?
“I— I want you to touch me.” Your words come out rushed and jumbled, pushing you to clarify. “I mean, more than you already have. I want you to touch me between my legs.”
“You want me to make you cum, my love? Is that it?”
Hearing Kylo repeat your desires back to you serves to both bolster and embarrass you, heat prickling on the back of your neck even as you nod.
“Yes, Kylo, that’s it.”
Your voice is tiny and meek in the dimness of the room, but the statement is still satisfactory.
“Come here, my darling,” your lover murmurs, maneuvering the both of you around on the covers. Kylo sits against the headboard, legs splayed wide to allow room for you between them. The plane of his chest is warm and broad and unyielding against your back, both of his strong arms a comfort around your middle as he lets you settle yourself. It takes you a moment, but you finally recline back, allowing Kylo’s scent and the heat of his body to comfort you, to soothe the anxiety you feel. Still, your heart pounds, and you’re sure he can feel you—
“Shaking.” The word is said right in your ear, causing you to jump out of your skin. Kylo’s hand are there, though, easing you back down, rubbing at your bare arms. “You’re shaking, my love.”
“I’m nervous,” you admit, and it’s a bit of a relief to finally say it out loud. “No one’s ever touched me…”
Kylo noses at the top of your head, presses kisses into your hair. “But you’ve touched yourself.”
It’s not a question, and you know at once that he’s seen your thoughts.
“Alright, I really don’t like this whole mind-reader thing,” you cut, but there’s more embarrassment than malice in your words. They earn you a huffing laugh from Kylo, his breath warm on your skin.
“As I said, my love, you’re the one who lets me do it,” he reminds, and then he’s reaching down, slowly drawing the hem of your nightgown up up up your calves, over your knees, and to your hips, the fabric pooling all over your lap. His hands come up underneath all of it, fingers hooking into the waistband of your panties to take them down. The action makes your chest seize, but you force yourself to relax.
Kylo will lead you. You’re safe with him.
“Open your legs for me, my love,” he murmurs, gentle as he helps you part your thighs. You’re grateful for the darkness now, glad that Kylo can’t exactly see you plainly. “Now unlace the front of your nightgown.”
With shaking fingers, you do as your lover says, pulling apart the front of the garment quickly. Your breasts aren’t laid bare, but this action coupled with the exposure of your cunt makes you feel almost entirely naked.
Kylo’s voice is low and soft in your ear, his breath warm on your skin. “Relax,” he says, pressing you back against his chest, “I’ve got you now.”
And he means that. Your beloved is gentle, so very gentle, slipping one hand inside your nightgown as the other moves between your legs. He caresses you as if you’re something breakable, refraining from pinching or groping or moving too suddenly. The callouses on Kylo’s palm catch your nipples in the best way, the sensation prickling down your stomach and right to your clit. And his fingers, stars, his fingers rub the most wonderful circles between your legs, the skin there coated in your slick.
You melt against Kylo entirely after just a couple of minutes, unable to do anything except mewl and sigh as he pleasures you lazily. Almost immediately, however, the game changes, and you find yourself clapping a hand over your mouth to keep from crying out. Kylo’s working your clit in earnest now, his motions tight and purposeful. He clamps one nipple between his fingers, rolling and tugging, pinching and pulling. Your heart pounds almost painfully, breath stuttering as the pleasure builds to a peak, and you have an idle thought that you might not survive this.
“It’s alright, precious,” Kylo murmurs, face pressing close to yours as you fist your hands in the fabric of his pants. You can’t believe it’s happening this fast, your orgasm building almost without warning in the pit of your stomach. Part of your wants to be embarrassed, but these feelings are tamped down as Kylo huffs quiet praises in your ear.
“I— Kylo, Maker, I’m going to—”
“Cum for me, my love, please,” your lover presses, desperation and urgency dripping from his every word as he picks up the pace, fingers working double time between your legs now.
You have to choke off a distraught noise not one second later, for Kylo slips his hand out of your nightgown. He’s quick to salve the wound, however, bringing your own hands to your chest now, urging you to fondle yourself as he clamps his palm over your mouth.
“You’re going to scream,” is all he has to say for himself, this the answer to your silent question. But you barely have time to care, your orgasm washing over you like one hot, all-consuming wave as soon as you get some pressure back on your nipples.
The haze of endorphins is almost debilitating, you’re still able to acknowledge that Kylo was right— you do scream, though you realize this about five seconds after it actually happens. It’s too good, the pleasure, and it makes you shake and shiver and thrash in the bed. Kylo helps you through it, rubbing at your clit as he keeps you quiet, letting your thighs clamp down on his hand without uttering a word of complaint. Finally, though, it’s too much, and you grab at Kylo’s wrist to make him stop.
Once the world comes back into focus, you slump against your beloved, spent but so, so satisfied. Kylo holds you close, rubbing your back and kissing your face as you try to get a handle on your mind and muscles. Still, you’re able to capture Kylo’s lips in a lazy kiss that he’s more than eager to return.
“Good?” Kylo finally asks, breaking the silence with a single word. You laugh quietly, nodding hiding your face in his neck.
“Better than that.”
Your lover’s gives you a squeeze then, and the two of you stay like that for a long while, just holding one another and breathing together in the darkness. Suddenly, you’re overcome with the realization that you’ve neglected to return the favor.
“Kylo,” you blurt, sitting up to face him. “Oh baby, I’m so sorry. Here, let me—”
“That’s alright, my love,” Kylo cuts, stopping you from making a move towards the front of his pants. “There’s time for all that another night. You need to rest, and I need to get back to the Supremacy.”
One glance at the chronometer on your bedside table shows you just how late it is, and sadness blooms in your chest at the thought of your beloved leaving.
“Okay,” you sigh, and then you’re reaching up for one last kiss, one last hug. Kylo’s happy to give them to you, but he has one final request as he slips out of bed and starts getting ready to go.
“Let me take these?” he asks, your panties held aloft in his hand. The sight of them makes you flustered, for you’re sure they’re still wet.
“What do you want those for?”
Kylo comes back to the bed, offering you one last kiss. “I’ll show you one day, darling.”

A Jikook Guide to Run! BTS: 1-20
Tumblr media
Hi all! Welcome to part one of my overview of all jikook moments in Run! BTS and Run BEHIND.
My biggest takeaway from these early episodes is that BH didn't quite know how to make a good variety show yet. Some of the set-ups are awkward and the guys are clearly still getting used to being on camera in this format. The jikook moments aren’t as frequent or obvious. As we go on, expect less “they look at each other in a maybe meaningful way” and more “then he sat down in his lap...” That said, this set of episodes includes both the priest skit and the cops skit, so if you’re into role-play, this was your era of Run!
Episode Guide under the cut, to avoid both spoilers and taking up half your dash...
UPDATED PER THE SUGGESTIONS OF SOME LOVELY COMMENTERS. THANK YOU ALL! New content in bold.
FYI: When you don’t see “BEHIND” descriptions or photos, it means there were no notable jikook moments. I’ve given each ep a general rating and a special Jikook-ery rating, both out of 5. YMMV!
Ep 1  (n/a)
The one that’s just a commercial for the V app
Ep 2 “The Greatest Man” (Ep: 3 / KM: 1)
The one with the most homoerotic series of challenges I’ve ever seen to prove who’s the “best” man
6:28 - Jimin TWICE randomly announces during musical chairs that JK will win
Not ikook-specific, but FYI, Jungkook REALLY likes being tickled. If you want a vague idea of what the beginnings of an OT7 orgy might look like, the scene at 2:09 is for you! And if you’re curious what each member looks like putting on lipstick and holding their mouths open, check out 4:24.
Ep 3  “Theme Park” (Ep: 1 / KM: 1)
The one at Six Flags that’s not worth watching unless you enjoy shaky camera footage of people screaming on roller coasters
5:44 - When Jimin is proud of himself for having ridden a coaster, JK goes to say something to him but keeps glancing at the camera self-consciously.
6:19 - With the camera further away, JK and JM talk with each other while waiting on line
7:06 - JK fast-walks to get to JM and then leans on JM’s shoulder to check the post-ride pictures
Ep 4  “30 Second Gate” (Ep: 1 / KM: 0.5)
The one where they do fairly boring challenges in a pool
5:26 - There’s a super brief instant of JK looking over at Jimin while shyly tugging on his shirt collar. Prob not even worth being noted as a moment, but JK looks so adorable that I’m including it anyway
Ep 5  “100 Seconds Sports Day” (Ep: 1 / KM: 1)
The one with a rather repetitive relay game
5:56 - JM playfully throws a milk carton at JK when JK fails to complete his task
7:53 - JK does some “teleporting” where he goes from being behind Suga in one shot to next to JM in the following one. He stays next to JM the whole rest of the time they’re mixing the drink.
Ep 6 “Sketch: Confession” (Ep: 2 / KM: 4)
The priest sketch that launched a thousand AUs...
3:30 - Jungkook comes in to “confess his sins” to Jimin, who is playing a priest and calls him “darling.” JK confesses to using Jin’s razor while also claiming to be the eldest in BTS. Jimin tells him that he’s so handsome, it must be that he’s blessed by God and can be forgiven for most things. Jimin tells JK to give him a hug to get forgiveness for his sins. As they hug, both are smiling and the onscreen text tells us how happy Jimin is and puts a little heart next to his face during the hug. Jimin strokes JK’s cheek after and it seems to make JK a little shy. Jimin calls out “bye, darling” as he leaves, then calls him “cutie” for the camera.  For comparison’s sake, Jimin hits V on the forehead and makes J-Hope do 50 push-ups to earn forgiveness. He hugs J-Hope at the end of it and the difference between how that hug feels versus the one with JK is clear as day.
Ep 6pt2 “Sketch: Confession” (Ep: 2 / KM: 0 )
None (neither appear in this episode)
Ep 7 “Paintball” (Ep: 1 / KM: 1)
The one that reminds you paintball is more fun to play than to watch
I’ll be honest, guys, between the masked helmets they’re wearing and the constant cutting around, I cannot follow the paintball games in this episode at all. I’m going to go out on a limb and say nothing particularly shippy happens during them.
9:54 - JK picks up Jimin from behind and bounces him around for a while (we don’t know how long because the camera cuts before he’s done). It will be revealed in ep. 10 that this is part of JK’s secret mission, which is to get Jimin to say “please stop.” However, despite Jimin not looking thrilled at all the bouncing around, he doesn’t tell JK to stop.
Ep 8 “Treasure Hunt” (Ep: 2 / KM: 2)
The one where they run or ride ATVs to find flags in the woods
1:15 - Jimin says out of nowhere that he thinks JK is going to be running and tells him to be careful not to bump into anyone (I think - the subs are a little weird on this one).
13:09 - JK tries to take one of JM’s meal ticket flags. JM refuses and claims JK called him “trash.” JK (kind of?) denies this and throws his one flag on the ground in frustration. J-Hope grabs it and JK sulks a bit because he’s left with nothing.
13:33 - Jimin reverses course and gives JK one of his flags. JK is delighted. RM asks why (apparently he, Jimin, and V had a deal to share their flags?) and Jimin just responds that Jungkook is very cute (which the on-screen texts puts a heart next to).  Jimin ends up giving a flag to V, too, but he makes him beg like a dog first.
14:16 - Jimin calls JK over and gives him a brief hug / pat on the back
Ep 9 “Bungee Jump” (Ep: 1 / KM: 0.5)
The one where it is what it says on the tin
11:25 - Some jikookers have reported hearing JK say an un-captioned “pretty” here (sounds like yebbeo or yeebeun in Korean). I’ll be totally honest that I can’t really make it out, but I will put this note here in case others with better ears than mine want to check it out!
13:59 - JM has his arm around JK at the start of the shot here
Ep 10 “Spy for Silmido Island” (Ep: 2 / KM: 2)
The one where everyone eats a meal as they learn how JK has been doing secret missions the last three episodes
6:16 - JK explains that he failed his mission to get Jimin to say, “please stop.” We see flashbacks of JK trying - in addition to the above picking JM up, JK also pulled on his hair and gave him a shoulder rub (there is no explanation for why he thought that would be something JM would tell him to stop), and spraying him with a water bottle.  The main jikook takeaway from this and the confession episode seems to be that JM will let JK get away with anything because he think he’s cute.
7:00 - We see that JM inadvertently made JK fail his mission to feed the camera man because, when JK held out food, JM got JK to feed him instead
Ep 11 "Back to School" (Ep: 3 / KM: 1)
The one where Suga dresses as a girl and gets hit on by the rest of the band
21:28 - Despite Jimin doing nothing but smiling in the sketch, JK says he's the day's MVP and is weirdly sincere about it
24:05 - YMMV on jeon-lous, but he does indeed do the tongue thing here when JM is flirting with girl-Yoongi
Ep 12 "Cops" (Ep: 4 / KM: 4)
The police sketch that launched ten thousand AUs...
6:46 - "Detective" Jungkook pulls "criminal" Jimin away by his collar 8:41 - After Jimin acts cute and says he's bored, JK comes over and slaps his upper thigh before throwing Jimin over his shoulder and slapping his butt. When JK puts him down, Jimin just looks at him with a dazed smile for a moment before they continue on with the sketch.
9:30 - Jimin tries to flirt his way out of of JK’s interrogation, which JK says is for “setting fire to ARMY’s hearts with his smiling eyes.”
10:25 - After a brief interuption by “Captain” Suga, the interrogation starts having flirty vibes again, with JK smirking and making eye contact while Jimin acts bashful and speaks in a whispery voice.
11:00 - JK holds a fake gun on JM as he starts his “Lie” dance, during which he directs finger hearts towards JK. The camera focuses on JM and, by the time it shows JK again, he’s lowered the gun and put his other hand over his heart. The on-screen text says “Detective Jeon’s heart is attacked.”
12:55 - JM and JK switch roles so JM is the detective. He hits JK over the head with a book. JK has basically no visible reaction, but JM has clearly flustered himself.
Note: To explain my reasoning for these originally not being here - if you look at the other skits in this ep, they are all accusing each other of doing things to ARMY’s hearts and being weirdly flirty with each other. Like, this police station has some serious sexual harassment issues all around! That said, the vibes are unique with jikook and, upon rewatch, I came to agree with y’all that the above should’ve been included. 19:30 - Alternate version of the sketch where Jimin and JK have a dance battle that ends in both of them being put in the jail cell and told to dance.
BEHIND  0:58 - Jimin flirt-ily calls out "I'm bored; play with me, Detective" (presumably to JK since they're scene partners).  Note: Adults saying they "played" with each other is a common way to describe hanging out in Korean and doesn't necessarily have the sexual connotations it does in English.
4:08 - Jimin stares at JK as he does squats
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ep 13 "The Spy Who Returned Part 1" (Ep: 4 / KM: 2)
The ones where they play games at an indoor water park
1:00 - Jimin does an exaggerated running motion and JK slaps him to make him stop, which JM finds funny
1:43 - JM has his arm around JK
6:00 - JK jokingly(?) tells JM his wet hair looks cool
11:12 - JM calls JK their team's ace and they whisper about who he should call out from the other team
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ep 14 "The Spy Who Returned Part 2" (Ep: 3 / KM: 2)
16:04 - JM jokingly hits JK for getting the answer super wrong and then they go down the waterslide together. (Note: I've seen some jikook-ers claim JK messed up on purpose so the game wouldn't end and he'd get to ride with Jimin, but I'm not sure there's actual evidence to support that theory.)
The moment that led to the picture below isn’t in the ep or the BEHIND, but I raised the episode’s KM score a full point for it
Tumblr media
Ep 15 "The Spy Who Returned Part 3" (Ep: 3 / KM: 2)
TW for this ep: 5:14 - during the confessions game, Jin tells Jimin that whenever Jimin asks if he put on weight, Jin wants to say he looks like a pig. Jimin claims to not be upset after, but looks like he's going to cry and seems off for a while. Then, at 10:45, Jin reiterates that Jimin "got fat." Everyone laughs except JK, who widens his eyes and then starts chewing on his finger.
6:37 - Despite being on the same team as JK, Jimin joins J-Hope's complaints about JK coming to their room uninvited, saying that JK often brushes his teeth in their room. He accuses JK of buying the exact same toothbrush as Jimin’s and complains that they can’t tell them a part. JK says it wasn't him and then there's a weird cut to sometime later when Jimin is sitting back down again...  Just prior to this, Jimin is looking unhappy as Hobi tells a story about JK seeing him naked, but it’s hard to tell if he’s reacting to that or feeling upset about Jin’s weight comments from the previous round.
16:02 - Jimin defends Jungkook against accusations that he's the spy
BEHIND 4:30 - Jimin sits on Jungkook's lap and, when he leans over to try to get Jin to give him food, JK puts his hand on JM's hip to steady him
Ep 16 "Snowpark Winter Olympics" (Ep: 4 / KM: 1)
The one where everyone plays winter games
4:35 - When JM and JK are the finalists for the sledding round, JM thanks the viewers for their support. JK asks "what does that make me?" and yells/sings badly, which makes JM laugh. I don’t quite get it, tbh, but they seem to be enjoying themselves
14:50 - JK helps JM get his sled in place
BEHIND 3:02 - JK smiles as he gets pushed towards JM on the ice
Ep 17 "Arcade Olympics Part 1" (Ep: 2 / JK: 2)
The ones where we are reminded that playing arcade games is more fun than watching people play them
All of this and next episode, whenever they all reshuffle positions, Jimin and Jungkook end up standing next to each other. This happens pretty frequently in Run BTS generally, but it was particularly noticeable in this ep since it's not like they're on the same team or anything...
4:16 - When Jimin does a dramatic DDR finish, JK calls attention to it. JM turns to him and they lock eyes for a second
15:00 - JK cheers Jimin's name when it looks like he's going to win the basketball game
BEHIND
3:36 - JK & JM play a 4D game together Also, JK has an interesting mark on his neck on his right side that does not appear to be there in the episode itself...

Ep 18 "Arcade Olympics Part 2" (Ep: 2 / JK: 1)
3:30 - JK tries (unsuccessfully) to coach Jimin on the driving game
3:45 - JK stands up for Jimin and says he's getting the hang of the game
14:36 - JM & JK laugh together at RM's failure
19:58 - It's not super clear, but it sounds like JK calls JM "Jiminie" at the end of his sentence
Tumblr media
Ep 19 "Strike" (Ep: 2 / JK: 1)
The one where BTS go bowling together and end up bowing down to JK
4:47 - JK shares that he and Jimin used to bowl together

If there’s anything I’ve missed or that anyone has different interpretations of, I’d love to hear it.
