#and also really shitty of the leader to agree with a name like that

Note
for your bsd warriors au. have you had any thoughts on the subject of names? because the naming conventions are so specific, i'd love to see what your thoughts on it were
I haven’t thought of any names for the characters yet but if there is one thing i am not going to be doing is limiting myself! I’d like to imagine that because cats of different backgrounds joining the ADA and Port Mafia clans they don’t really stick to a certain theme, whatever the cat feels fits the most is what their name should be. Names in warrior cats are supposed to be unique to the cat I feel, they should be happy with their name and show it off with pride. So, if they want to why make them stick to a certain set of names according to their eyes.
With that aside I will be giving them a prefix and suffix but also may add a small little system where cats they deem important to them can call them only by their prefix because prefixes are unique to them! I will not have any repeating names.

Rumors
─ Tenjiku x fem!reader
─ Summary: certain rumors about a powerful girl lead Tenjiku to you
─ Warnings: description of unpleasant ways to die
Part two / Part three / Part four
Tumblr media
"I'm telling you again, you have the wrong person…"
You murmured to some boys that had cornered you before you could leave through the great doors of your high school, the head of that small group looked at you, fed up with you denying being who people said.
"Don't be stupid! There is no one else that matches your name."
You groaned in disgust when you noticed his growing anger, you didn't want to waste your valuable free time, you frowned making the hardest look you could, your dark circles dimmed your eyes and you gave one last blank look at the 'leader' of the group. The atmosphere around you intensified, as if it were suffocating, as if you were capable of breaking the necks of these five guys with one move.
The legs of the teenagers began to shake from the personality change, your sinister face and your iron gaze were enough to scare them away, although they said they would come back to kick your ass, you and your so-called gang.
"My God, what's up lately with all the jerks looking for a fight?"
You really didn't understand shit, as far as you knew, this last month there were several groups of people asking about you, they wanted to fight you because apparently you had a powerful gang and your name started to spread like wildfire, you heard nonsense like you had defeated a group of twenty men without ruffling your hair, even while filing your nails.
You? fighting? Do you even want to socialize a bit? If beating people up counts as socializing of course, you had nothing to do with those things anyway, the only struggles you had were with your math problems and if that subject was a person it would have kicked your ass not vice versa.
You had to ask a few people from your class, some who were more or less trustworthy and not swayed by those rumors, yes, rumors about you, not that you paid much attention to them but man, painting you as something inhuman that would be able to dismounting people twice your size with one punch was a bit over the top, wasn't it?
It's not that you looked cute or flirty, that was the main cause of the rumors starting, okay you admit it, you don't have the best fashion sense and maybe you dress a little darker than the others, maybe what sparked the rumors was your impassive demeanor, and your shitty face, because you didn't like to get up early, who does anyway? You just get to class and everyone is greeting each other with smiles on a Monday at seven in the morning, shut the fuck up, you want to sleep.
Looking back, yeah, maybe it was a bit because of your behavior, another reason that you thought would be of weight was your honesty, harsh honesty, you didn't like to beat around the bush and you went straight to the point of the issues, maybe that made your classmates see you as intimidating, geez, if they knew you cry over strangers' stories on the internet every time you open Twitter… Maybe some people were even intimidated by your height? Not that you were a building, but considering the average height of the girls, you were a bit above that.
The truth is that you had to agree with some of the rumors, you are creepy as fuck, not only sometimes because of your disheveled appearance, but also because of some of your comments, you could make very accurate descriptions of painful or disturbing deaths if is that the situation made you think of ways to die doing something everyday. Well, it's not your fault that you're a fan of crime shows, serial killers, etc.
"I hope we're not wasting time with this."
"Calm down Shion, it's not like we have anything to do, we're all here for a reason."
Izana commented as he looked at the others, Tenjiku had gathered because Kisaki had been hearing those rumors, your rumors, they were looking for strong people and if you had what they were looking for you were definitely joining the group.
"Whatever, he could have at least brought his pathetic ass here too…"
"Nu-uh, I needed Sanzu, Mucho and him to do something for me, anyway, I think we're here now."
You were half asleep at recess, getting some rest from another night of tossing and turning, otome games were messing with your sleep schedule. You almost fell asleep if not for a slight jolt, you groaned but opened your eyes finding yourself face to face with lavender eyes that seemed to penetrate your soul, your mind assimilated everything quickly when you saw how they were dressed together, also noticing the others behind of the boy.
They didn't even ask for your name when you put your hands to your head, letting out a cry of despair because you already knew what they had come for.
“I swear to god, I don't have a gang and I can't take down twenty men with one punch."
"Well, most people don't think the same as you."
Ran spoke, balancing his weapon against his palm, smiling sadistically at how you trembled a little. You know that intimidating feeling, when you know someone is angry and they seem like they're invincible? That same pressure the boys felt when you got up from your seat, although it was only a defense mechanism when you were scared.
"Just leave me alone, I don't want or am interested in fighting, I don't care what you think I am."
Apparently the trick of looking intimidating didn't help, the guy with a scar on his forehead that reached down to one of his eyes approached threateningly, grabbing your shirt to lift you into the air. You screamed internally from the looks you were getting from everyone, normally the idiots who came to confront you would get scared ─luckily─ and you didn't have to run away, but it was clear that these guys weren't weaklings like all the others.
Since silent intimidation didn't help, it might help to use your twisted mind, hopefully you might scare them off.
"I would like to lock you in a coffin alive, bury you three meters underground, wait for you to die slowly, gradually running out of oxygen, when your mind fades your bodies will rot, I will dig the bodies up and feed them to the Insects more disgusting than you can imagine."
"What the hell-"
Rin looked at you with a grimace seeing how you didn't blink once in your little monologue, Kakucho's grip loosened a bit, lowering you back to the ground but keeping you where you were. You started to sweat, without letting them recriminate you, you started to talk again.
"If you don't like that death, I can also sedate you, empty all your bodies, without intestines, while you slowly watch each other as you die little by little, I will do it slowly playing with your livers, making your intestines into scarves, I will burn you and I will feed you to pigs."
Kokonoi and Mochizuki looked at each other in silence with disgust clear on their faces, Kakucho had let go of you taking a step back to Izana's side. Hanma had a small crooked smile, it was his turn to approach you, patting your shoulder.
"What creepy things you say to be a scared cat."
Well, shit, your words hadn't sounded with the usual impassive enough tone or your nervousness had been detected by this damned matchstick. You shrank into your site, feeling smaller next to him, you raised your hands in defeat.
“Non-verbal and verbal intimidation don't work, okay, I give up, but I guess you know that that shit was just rumors."
Everyone was stunned at the guffaw Izana let out after that, he normally kept that serious tone when he was in a group, he usually only let that side out when he was alone with Kakucho, but oh boy, you were too much.
“Look at you, trying to intimidate us while you were all scared! You know, if you'd made it clear, we would have left, but you're so funny."
"What? If you're saying that you're a bad liar, I could see how you wanted to beat me up."
"Oh of course not, I would never hit a girl-"
"Yes, you should break a leg for lying so bad."
You gave your typical blank face, much more relaxed than before, but still a bit uncomfortable with all the attention you were getting, not to mention someone still with their arm around your shoulders.
"Hey, matchstick, personal space."
It was the turn of the Haitani brothers to laugh at the nickname you had given Hanma, he turned away with an offended look, but you didn't care, looking at the brothers, without a doubt their laughter bothered you because they were the ones that scared you the most.
"I don't know what's so funny, eh, Bert and Ernie?"
Kokonoi bit his tongue to keep from laughing, thinking that if he did, he would be the next person to be attacked by your big mouth, however Izana spoke again.
"You go from completely shaking and trying to be brave to messing with us? Every time you surprise me more."
"Nah, I'm just being honest now that I know you won't break my legs, I'm not making fun of you, I'm just objectively saying what you look like."
Now they all fell silent looking at you, feeling as if you were criticizing them with a simple look, imagining characters similar to them to make fun of.
"Wait, does that mean that you associate us all with something or someone?" you hummed affirmatively at Mochizuki's question "can we know-"
"You look like an onigiri if you put yourself completely in front."
"What about me?"
Madarame watched expectantly as you narrowed your eyes at him, analyzing his stance, oh, you definitely knew what he was.
"Gay."
"Wha- THAT'S NOT EVEN AN OBJECT OR PERSON!"
"Are you saying that gays are not people? Pretty disrespectful of you."
"IT'S NOT THE POINT!" he complained for a few minutes like Mochi for their comparison, he looked at you again, pointing to the remaining three; Koko, Izana and Kakucho "What about them? What stupid thing are they?"
"Mmh…" you rubbed your index finger and thumb on your chin, thinking deeply, looking at the three boys "They are just handsome."
"Nah, this bitch is not being serious-"
Hanma prevented the blonde from hitting you for your comparisons, despite also being insulted, the scene was quite funny for him. Ignoring the little spat everyone started to have, deciding you'd had too much human contact for today, you packed up your stuff to leave, only someone stopped you before you left.
"Take this please, let's talk later!"
You blinked at the piece of paper Izana had given you, it was his phone number, you shrugged, you liked the internet contact better anyway, you took one last look at the group before disappearing, briefly greeting Kakucho, who went with the only one you caught eyes with, completely ignoring how his cheeks had some rosy tinge.
"Someone had a crush?"
"Shut up Ran."

like ok i think about green so much. i think about green and red and just. god. canonically for some fucking reason he's 13-14 as viridian's gym leader???????????????????? which. does not match his appearance tbh but its pokemon what the hell do i know. imo he looks like 16. but eh.
like ok my personal timeline is. following canon to an extent also disclaimer this is primarily green pov, sliding pokemas to the side im not putting it here. also btw Leaf does exist here but im gonna focus on green and his pov of Red particularly:
______________________________________________________________
5 years - 10 years: tiny babies :'] they get along great at first. pokemon nerds. Green becomes a bit more astute. u know the usual fandom hc of pokemon oak's not the Greatest Parenting. Like He's Trying but Green being a kid notices and a bunch of misunderstandings and mistakes pile yk? kids notice. and kids also assume. and Green assumed. Green starts to antagonize Red more, shifting him from a friend to a rival. the rivalry is starting to bleed out the friendship. Red notices, but not aware of the familial situation, is just hurt.
10 years old - 11 years: whatever the fuck happened in frlg. insane preteen angst between the two. i like to think they got in a fistfight. poor kids.
11 years - 12 years: red disappears around this time. 12 year old kid learns how to be a caveman. Green goes to school. Kind of mumbles through the process of becoming champion, and losing it in less than an hour. he's like halfway through a process of whatever happened when he gets the opportunity and he pounces. school is paused.
13 years old - 14 years old: Apparently a girl named Leaf took over the old champion position. From pallet town too. Not that he rlly cares. Green only hears rumors about Red being at the top of the mountain, repressed whatever had happened and the whole situation of their relationship, doesn't rlly want to confirm for himself rlly. cause. well. don't ask. shut the fuck up.
15- 17 years old: what the fuck do you mean the rumors are true. Green gets egged on to finally check after confirmation of Ethan/Lyra. By Red's mom, Daisy, Professor Oak, the whole fucking town jesus christ- and. really he shouldn't be here. doesn't really deserve to be here. but he finally sees red. its an awkward as hell 2 years, warming up a cold 5 year old friendship. they don't talk about it.
18 years old: it almost felt like nothing ever happened. for a while. he had visited monthly, bringing supplies, warm wishes. the usual topic had been about the gym, the family, pokemon battles, people in pallet town, safe topics. The only one he's willing to breach is how to get Red off the damn mountain, but as you can clearly read, hasn't been successful. red's grown taller than him. annoying as hell, but his eyes still sparkle when he talks about new pokemon. Green restarts his education, and lucky for him his brain is still sharp enough to catch up. He applies for a university in Kalos.
19 years old: he got in, awesome. he breaks the news to Red. he leaves in five months. Red....doesn't seem happy, but he congratulates Green anyways. on a whim to try to cheer him up, Green makes an shitty joke attempt: come down for a dinner celebration in Pallet Town in a week. Just Red's mom, Red, Daisy, Green, and Professor Oak. No one else, and afterwards we can send you right back to your happy cave home mountain, yeah? Red doesn't respond. The next day however, he agrees. Green doesn't know how the fuck that worked.
The dinner: Green breaks the news to his family and Red's mom, and helps a frantic Daisy prepare the food, where he confesses his doubts over Red's reaction. Daisy suggests that Red may have been used to his company, seeing as he was the only human willing to trek Mount Silver monthly just to see him. Green decides to phone Ethan/Lyra to ask them a favor.
The favor: ok so you've been looking for a challenge right. right ok. i thought you would rebattle Red or something. where the hell are you nowadays. why? oh idk just wondering, cause he just got a new team member and I thought you-no? aw man ok cause I can't go to the mountain for a Long While. He needs a training partner. Ok! thanks, smell ya later.
The Dinner Cont.: Red appears with his mom, and. Green notices the redness around her eyes. Red's hand was carefully clasped around hers. Red's eyes flitted almost anywhere but their faces, but he nods a greeting to Gramps and Daisy on the way in, before sitting at the table. the roast duck was ready. Professor Oak lobs his questions at Red, almost automatically. How was he, his pokemon?? How was Mt. Silver's eco-climate, did you know how the league operated- yadda yada yada yada yada Green began to buzz out in the middle of chewing some potatoes. It wasn't until Oak grasped his shoulders, commenting about Green's recent success could Green finally grasp whatever expression was on Red's face.
outside, the dishes were being washed, and the two friends elected to take a walk.
hesitation wrangles his hands, before signing. "I thought you and Professor Oak weren't getting along?"
a waved hand. "he's better. Helped me with the whole application process, so I had no choice but to kind of had The Talk.
"and?"
"It went shit. we got into another fight, but I think I got something through."
"...."
"He still asks about you though. That didn't change. And, don't worry, I stopped him from trekking over there himself. I think he's getting like, old old. He only holes up in his lab now."
"I thought he still trekked into viridian forest to collect metapod shells."
"He only did that to make sure we didn't somehow end up there. we were seven- you know how we were."
"we could've ended up there."
"HA- no- yeah. yeah actually. I think I would have somehow been dragged by you. You used to chase rattatas for crying out loud. It's a shock how you weren't infected by a disease."
"You told me they were strong."
"what did you think 'strong' meant to a 7 year old?"
"......I thought they meant they were the best."
"....yeah well, me too."
"I'm sorry, Green."
"I should be the one saying that, you asshole."
"...."
"I think I should have said that from the beginning. I'm sorry, Red. I'm so sorry."
The walk ended with a silent beat.
After the Dinner: weird clean up, Green feels like the ice had finally, chipped around Red. He hasn't seen Red's mom kiss her son's forehead for a long time. He hadn't seen Red in his childhood room where they used to play pretend for a long time. He hadn't seen Red smile like that..... in a long time. He takes him back to Mt. Silver.
There are 5 visits left until Kalos.
5 visits left: Red makes a face and comments about Lyra/Ethan's sudden visits again. It's kind of funny, seeing a mildly aghast look on his face as he signs about their new look, team, personality even. His eyes shine as he talks about pokemon he has never seen before, what do you mean there's a different form of slowbro????? He almost looks younger, hands now more lively as he talks strategy with Green.
3 visits left: It's Red's 20th birthday. Green and Lyra/Ethan make a trip this time together. Somehow, through Reds mom magic, the cake stays preserved throughout the entire trip. They munch through strawberry cream cake in silence, occasionally breaking into conversation about the travels, preparations, and global news. Red's eyes stay shiny under the candles until blown out. Green gets him a pokemon egg. What it is, he won't tell Red. Lyra/Ethan gets him a new pokegear. the first number he adds is Green.
2 visits left: Red keeps staring at Green. it's pissing him off. He stares as he cooks, as he rants, when he's tending to his pokemon. Green decides to play cool, talking more and more about the process of moving. He has to license his pokemon, contact his mentors, pack all of his stuff. Kalos apparently has good fashion too, did you know, maybe I could finally install a change to your godawful outfit- Red just keeps staring. The egg remains unhatched, yet the signs tell him that its near time.
1.5 visits left:
Red: The egg hatched.
Green: LMAO did you like it??????
[ a blurry photo is sent, barely depicting the picture of a shiny mimikyu, surrounded by Pikachu and venasaur.]
Green: IS THAT A SHINY???????
Green: RED.
Green: OF FUCKING COURSE.
Red: :)
1 visit left: They sit in silence by the open fire, cozy and in their own world. That is, until a finger jolted Green awake. Red only stared back with a serious expression.
"I think I forgave you a long time ago."
"It took me a while, to connect everything together." Red seemed to be reciting this, almost as if he practiced this speech.
"But I wasn't sure. you never brought it up, which wasn't the best. You weren't....good when we were kids. but you were my friend. You are my rival. "
"I understand, why you were like that. and I saw you again, and it was really good. Really good." Red emphasized.
Green blinked. "like we were kids again?"
Red nodded. "It was back to before then. before the championship. We used to talk more. You didn't avoid me, and we battled like usual. we didn't have to worry about league management, or team rocket. I thought maybe we could start over again."
Green grimaced. "But?"
"You're leaving." Finally, with the wind taken out of him, Red deflated right in front of Green, seemingly worn. He almost looked like a limp balloon. Vaguely, Green wondered what his 11 year old self would thinking looking at him. Probably not a nice thing.
He's not 11 now though.
"You....could come with me?" Green froze under Red's incredulous look. "Look, I was an asshole, still am an asshole times 100 there is no denying that. I'm surprised you even let me on this mountain. I thought you would never talk to me again, and I would totally get it. I would maul myself."
"But I want to start over too. If you could just. think about it. You can't room with me, but given you're a champion I'm pretty sure you're able to get some sort of bonus, but only if you're really really REALLY sure, this cold ass mountain never seemed to lift its grip from you-" A pair of hands swiftly covered Green's mouth, muffling him.
A silence swept over the two, before slowly, Red's hands lifted from Green's lips.
"....Let me think about it." Red signed.
"All the power to you, buddy."
A snort. "Buddy?"
"shut up."
Three days later, Green flew to Kalos.
A year later, Red moved to Kalos.
Post Kalos: so you may have noticed i have not rlly pushed on the romantic agenda. yeah i rev the engines slow here. but point is its not my forte most of the time. either way they do get together inbetween kalos and sm. Green writes a hell of a thesis paper on pokemon research, they still have things to hash out and properly explain, but its a working process. Red gets invited to every champion event ever when he finally cracks out of mt silver. If you ask me who catches feelings first, i'm going to say they both did at the same time cause its funny and they annoyed the hell out of every surrounding colleague with their pining.
Misc
red's mimikyu is a girl, like his pikachu
Leaf and Green meet at Kalos, she helped him make an arrangement when Red was moving over. They became rlly good friends with all three of them!!! :D They also found out they wall lived in pallet town, just never met because Leaf entered school rather than their reckless 10 year old adventures.
Professor Oak's whole issue is saying the wrong things when he means one thing. Which causes Green to snap back and then he gets mad at the disrespect and yaknow. they're slowly getting better though. this also did Numbers of Green's self-esteem.
Red does live with his mom before leaving with Green. They visit Kanto as often as possible.
Green and Red's mom had a talk when Green was about 16, about his whole deal. Green wonders how she could smile at him afterwards. But Red's mom is understanding and observable as her own son. Not to say she isn't letting Green go scot-free though. it's what finally cracks Green to reflect.
"Hey so why didn't Green try to get Red off the mountain when he was visiting over and over again?" I did consider that. I think they were so close to teetering off the edge when they battled it out on Mt. Silver that teenager Green was just deathly afraid of fucking things over and scaring Red away from contacting Pallet town again. It was a slow process for him to get Red curious enough about the outside world to goad him into even considering visiting places.
Does Red Sign? Yes! I'm not completely sure how to properly write it cause i am a Novice. (u are free to give sources, though i'm not a writer I will look through yes yes) He's selectively mute in my eyes!
The Viridian Gym Leader position got shifted a few months before Green moved to Kalos, but Lance has always told Green that the position is open if he rlly wants it.
Lyra/Ethan could be whatever u wish. is lyra and ethan the same person and they have incredible gender and two names? sure. are they separate people on their own and they're just a duo? if u want. go ham.
note: i didn't expect this to be THIS LONG but also forgive me i just vomited word thought and it evolved to semi-writing. I'm a completely beginner at this. this is just my interpretation of the red/green whole spiel cause i had brain worms. if urs is different that is cool!!! rad!!!

sky thoughts below the cut, mostly about nightheart and bramblesquirrel (spoilers obvs). its a wild one folks
reading this book was honestly a struggle. there were so few likable characters, frostpaw's pov remains uninteresting to me, and worst of all, nightheart is in it.
before, nightheart's struggles amused me. i thought he was struggling with the ego his clanmates accidentally gave him by comparing him to firestar, even if he didn't know it. now for some godforsaken reason he's caught between bramblesquirrel's dumpster fire of a relationship and he's on bramblestar's side.
why is bramblestar so eager to encourage his warriors to undermine squirrelflight's authority? and why is he so eager to make it happen that he gets nightheart in trouble? i thought they would bond over being named after cats they'd rather not be (him being named after tigerclaw and nightheart after firestar) but instead he's treating him like squirrelflight's keeper and using what he says to punish her. he must surely know nightheart doesn't think fondly of his mate so why is he getting him involved with their shitty dynamic??? does bramblestar even fucking like squirrelflight at all?? why doesn't he support a single thought she has?? SHE SAVED YOU FROM DEATH, SHE FOLLOWED YOU INTO HELL, AND YOU BROUGHT HELL BACK TO HER IN THANKS?
this is all AFTER it's shown and mentioned that she's been doing the majority of the work HE should be doing as leader, and it's also implied that she's better at it too because so few cats agree with what bramblestar's saying throughout. leafstar and bayshine both show that they value her words more than bramblestar's, and throughout sky bramblestar's only supporter is nightheart, who sucks
in one scene nightheart's whiny ass frets that if bramblestar is usurped, squirrelflight would have authority over him—which she fucking does anyway, as his deputy, but i guess it doesn't matter because she isn't leader so he doesn't have to really follow her rules—and make his life miserable. why does he think this? he thinks this because she refused him his name after he wasnt rewarded by her for taking an unnecessary risk. over and over again he blames she-cats in his life for his problems and now im really seeing his sexism shine through. he's just really frustrating to read because on top of not respecting his deputy and taking the side of her abusive mate he is just so self absorbed
i will say that his interactions with sunbeam were cute, even though i don't think he should ever be with a woman.

I mean the Feinstein thing is about two things.
one is she's a woman and an older woman and being shitty to women, particularly older women, women aging in public is easy, this is why her why her over Mitch McConnell or Chuck Grassley and of course the media's bias against Democrats adds into that
but this drum beat of "retire" "clinging onto power" etc that ignores willfully (and honestly it feels like many leftist trolls who are worked up about it don't know she's leaving at the end of 2024, I see people saying she's running again etc) that she is retiring she is leaving we are measuring her term in months not years. All that I think is driven by the big unspoken. It's about her, but it's also about Biden. Her name, her picture (looking old, looking frail) her list of medical issues, some unfounded stuff about aids supporting her too much (because her mind is gone!! ahhh!) slid into an article about how "age" is a problem for the Democrats or for America if we want to list Mitch's problems, or we wanted to talk about Nancy and Chuck and Biden back when she was leader. It's about putting Biden next to someone who's not just old but also sick and frail and hoping people tie him in with her, that people walk away thinking/feeling like they read about a Biden infirmity too.
the fact she's a woman, the fact she's a Democrat makes never giving up, never moving on, and implying or just stating the worst without proof all socially okay but I think the intense interest even after getting her to retire is about Biden.
Oh, I absolutely agree with all of this, and it's why I said that the coverage about Dianne Feinstein is not entirely (or even really primarily) about Dianne Feinstein.

oh boy, I just saw the post about dragons in FE are inherintly bad and I'm gonna weigh in about Jugdral cause that's where my braincells are.
as already pointed out, the evil dragon Loptous became a problem after Galle/Gair/whatever his localised name is went out of his way to travel to Archanea in search of power and found it in the form of a bloodpact with Loptous. Also nobody said Loptous is innocent whatsoever, so no idea where that came from?? (And yes, Loptous resided in the tome and descends into anyone with the fitting Holy Blood. Only at the end he's released after Julius is defeated.) Anyways, Galle returns, establish his funky new empire and everything starts going awry for several years. "When it came to that, the other group of dragons who were then living in secret came to discuss what they ought to do. So, in the middle of that discussion, their leader proposed tentatively trusting the humans and intervening, and they distributed their power to the soldiers who remained until the end--that's a summary of the event that we call The Miracle at Darna Fortress. [...] Afterward, humanity preserved the teachings of the gods AKA dragons, and for several decades, continued the era of peace. However…… as time passed, the teachings of the gods were slowly forgotten, and humanity became arrogant." - Kaga [Source]
And that's quite literally the theme of FE4! Humanity's hubris once someone gains an inch of power. In the span of barely 100 years the people went from waging war against Loptous to waging war against one another because everyone believes themselves to be in the right. (Importance of the word "seisen" and the implications it has in Japan) "Seeing this, the dragons from whom the Twelve Crusaders drew their power regretted aiding the humans, and agreed never to intervene in the human world again."
That is until Forseti/Lewyn, who helped out a little. He only sheltered Julia for several years, taught Arthur wind magic, helped out in Leonster, watched over Lene (if he's her father) and basically provided guidance for the new generation. So yeah, I guees he helped out "a little". He also delivered this banger of a quote: "Yeah... Consider this a lesson, Seliph. Good and evil can't be easily reduced to such simple, black-and-white ideals. If you must hate, hate the evil which lurks in us all, not the individual. Never forget this."
In short, FE4 is not a game about "dragons bad". Yes, there is a dragon, who is bad but overall the shittiness in Jugdral stems from people being greedy and arrogant. Galle also would have established his empire if the power came from a freaking salmon, it's all about power and what it does to people! And Julius in the end is just a vicitm of circumstances.
Oh damn, this is long but I couldn't just let this be, sorry for that. Also I wouldn't think too hard about Ced/Sety being named after the crusader. I think this is more of a case of Kaga not being subtle/being biased towards Lewyn x Erin, why else would she name her son after an crusader even if Lewyn isn't her husband. Of course, there can be an analysis in that direction but Kaga had his clear biases and I think this is one of them.
Nah, don't worry!
I'm not posting as much about Jugdral as I used to be, but I welcome any kind of discussion about the verse!
I don't know what was wrong with that person, but they apparently didn't want to talk, because if you rebuked them or disagreed, you were apparently a terf and whatnot, and then they brought their degree and I nope'd out of it because it just isn't worth it - like, seriously, I do not understand how you can brag about academics when we're talking about video games, but the more you know...
Imagine if everytime someone criticised Thatcher and some people would immediately jump on you affirming you said she was "stupid because she has ovaries" - no mate, I've never talked about ovaries, and quite frankly I don't really want to.
Anyways, I agree with everything you said!
Jugdral is the verse where we don't see manaketes and physical dragons ruining things - Jugdral is the verse where humans abuse power, let it come from a dragon or a jack'o'latern, to do cruel, petty or stupid things because Jugdralians are shitty people.
But for every Raydrick out there, we also have an Amalda, an Eyvel or a Siggy.
Dragons left, Forseti tries to help and guide... it doesn't always work - and the world would have been doomed if Manfroy wasn't a petty bastard - but his MO is to let humans deal with their own mess, he is just here to give directions.
IDK about Ced/Sety, but I thought it was maybe just a callback to the OG Crusader and founder of Silesse - since Erinys becomes Queen, maybe she would have found it nice for her child to be named after the previous Hero and founder of Silesse?
And this is mainly why I really do not want a remake for Jugdral to be announced, I know some people like that person did would, not misunderstand, but refuse even to listen or to consider what the game wanted to tell, if it can be used to prop, usually, Supreme Leader and her nauseabond take that people with scales are the reason why humans suffer.
There can be no discussion with someone who refuses to engage, and I've seen it in real life, it becomes quickly tiresome.
In real life, I cannot block those people but in the fandom?
I can cure my own experience, and yet, as we saw with FE16, it will spread around like an unattended chamber pot. At first I thought Serenes might be the last bastion of common sense, since people who played and talked about past games, who (used?) are open to discussion could kindly rebuke them, and if it ever escalated mods are here to remove their access to debating spaces if it becomes clear they do not want to engage in any discussion and are just here to troll...
But Serenes let Beta ruin the FE16 subforum for several months, with the famous "one day one bad take" and everyone who disagreed would either be harshly rebuked or straight out ignored, so...
So I don't know if it counts as gatekeeping, I hope not, but even being worried about the question raises an issue about the current state of the fandom, are you really gatekeeping when you just ask of someone who wants to debate/talk/engage to play the game or read the script? When you ask them to answer and reply with canon material, and not their latest recipe on how to make egg-less mayo?

dream summary 1. abandoned building into costco candy whip cream milkshake 2. shopping (i wanted to get another milkshake) 3. acting outdoors 4. going to an area & there was an anime con in the same building as the conference
1. dream started with .. I was exploring a maze like abandoned building. in if my friend was there .there were other people but I don't know if I was allird with them. we got stuck in one part that looked a bit like the pirate cave in the goonies with a hard to find exit .
then I went Costco & I was making a millshake with some kind of candy whipped cream, but I used too much & the employee forced me to buy a membership. but they did let me name the drink, so I named it adter I e of my friends fsr the one that explored the building with me? it was really good milkshake though.
i was in the area again with friends . we stopped at a Target to get some snacks, but everything was weird here. the self checkout was weird and sucked.
then: I was at a creek doing a favor for my sister & agreed to act in some play her & her friends were hosting. she was the main prinfess & I was the tutor. i have never acted before, but sure. anyway a rival group showed up and the acting fairy told us to hide in the creek since there was a hole in the middle, so I dived in. nobody else from the group was there shddebly (turns out bandits had shot one of the girls) & I couldn't hold my breath that long, so they eventually found me. they had a cute leader though.
then some kind of work trip to a conference, but seems like a shitty anime con was taking place at the same area. i ditched the people I came with the pick up som crappy weapns from an animated metal suit & then wanted to dollow my friends down to the night beach. the beach was down a long hallway past some somewht convoluted sevret doors. we couldn't blog back that way because people were having sex suddenly in the rooms down there very loudly.
I use the mace to unlock a secret passage. there was a bloodborne looking room back there in shades of dark blue and indigo, with thin pink flowers & a weird looking blacksmith guy who forgws the three flowers into an upgrade my tool for me. however they were cursed& the voice of the evil could enter me& try to possess me.
there was a portal at the back. we went through it. it was a large open air field of rubble floating in a cloudy thunderstorm like area, heavily trapped and with house of thorns every so often. the destination was a far off inverted tower with a maze of pasageways and the exit, also floating in pieces.
I could use my magic to knit everything back together but the mental strain was intense - I needed a nearby magical item to ground me. the hero party consisted of me, a new knight who kookted very anime nerd - the classic isekai guy haircut in blue, square frame glasses. he was sweet though. we had another ?mage? really similar in vibe or at least appearance to yae Miko, who tried to cross first. & her bodyguard, a woman real similar to Gideon tlt but with darker hair. she was the master of some kind of spin jump kick thing & she had hung behind to finish investigating the room with the flowers. when she came out and had heard that pink hair team member had tried to cross, she immediately left to catch up. she made it pretty far, but stopped by a healing stone & then was snared by thorns. she cut through them without hesitation but now one of her legs was injured.
the hero had wanted to stay with me but it seems like the other two were having difficulty, so he left his magic spike shield as the grounding factor for me & left & caught up with the others. they were almost at the exit, but the bodyguard was heavily injured, turned into her original form a small green alien fairy thing, & died. the pink mage was cornered by enemies& stuck in thorns, and the hero who'd almost escapoed turned back out of instinct. he should have made for the escape. all our items and party members wojld be teleported out when one person made it. we would have been able to revive pixie guard and heal pink mage & I. then I woke up

We all know how good Reeve is, but somehow I feel that he is still underrated.
In the midst of intense competition even just to be a mere employee or lowly trooper at Shinra Inc, Reeve deserves more credit.
He came from the countryside (at least his mother used to live there and followed him to Midgar). This implied that Reeve was a country boy who moved to Midgar and managed to land a job at Shinra.
In JP dub, Cait Sith speaks with a Kansai-ben (accent). Sometimes when excited, Reeve often slips talking like this. Reeve's accent, which Midgarians deem 'weird', hints his origin from suburban area.
Aged 35 years old (FF7 timeline), he is the youngest executive at Shinra Inc.!!
In Before Crisis, he was an architect who designed mako reactor and in Crisis Core mentioned through Zack's mail, he was the Director of City Planning.
And those he achieved when he was younger (perhaps around late 20s to early 30s).
Although his main fields are architecture and urban planning, he also has interest and expertise in robotics.
And speaking of his leadership, he is a good leader, loved and respected by his underlings. In short, he is pretty charismatic.
After the meteor fall (and the fall of Shinra), he founded and controlled World Regenesis Organization (WRO), its role in the story is as a transitional replacement for Shinra Inc. as a government and military.
It is implied that WRO is funded by Rufus Shinra and this is what makes it somewhat interesting. He probably does it as a penitence for his company's actions against the planet.
However, there is a theory that by funding the organization, Rufus effectively becomes de facto leader of the WRO.
Especially considering that the name 'Shinra' is already hated by the public and Rufus' status post-meteor fall as being 'legally died', it will be quite complicated to rebuild Shinra again.
But does this mean that Reeve is merely a figurehead and not truly leading WRO?
I actually agree with this theory, that Rufus may have some influence within WRO.
But is it that simple to put aside Reeve's role and contribution? Do you think that Reeve is not that good at leading so he needs to be 'controlled'?
Does Reeve really lack leadership skills and charisma? I don't think so.
He is a capable leader, he is loved by his people. Being loved by his subordinates means that he is quite charismatic.
First, let's go back to reviewing his achievements.
A country boy who managed to get a respectable position in Shinra Inc.
Where many people failed and ended up in Midgar slums.
The boys in NIbelheim who want to go to Midgar and get a successful career at Shinra may be inspired by the story of Reeve's success.
But Rufus is younger than Reeve, and he is the President and his superior.
Is the struggle and achievement of a country boy without connection comparable to a son born from conglomerate who automatically inherited his father's company?
After all Reeve could not go full leader because his position is not the highest in Shinra. Of course hierarchically he must obey and act as an underling to his superior, the President.
He can’t also be aggressive towards fellow executives, he needs to protect his image and position, and he also maintains the peace internally.
Rufus has never really experienced being an underling, surely he was an underling to his father (President) when he was a Vice President. But he also has no obligation to respect his father in a way an employee should respect their boss (at least that's what it looks in BC).
But Rufus also has its own struggles, he even once staged a coup against his own father and failed.
Papa Shinra himself said in BC that Rufus was going to inherit his place someday anyway~~
Actually, Rufus tries to imagine what he would be like if he grew up normal outside Shinra’s supremacy and it’s impossible for him.
Of course I'm not questioning Rufus' capability and his charm, (or ignoring his suffering for being raised by shitty dad) because he is my favorite character after all.
But glorifying him while downplaying others' value and competence is my biggest NO.
Rather than seeing Rufus as the true leader of WRO and merely using Reeve as a stand-in or representative. I'd like to see them mutually working together.
I believe Rufus has his own vision and goals on WRO, but he's also not going to waste Reeve's talent by simply making him a figurehead with no real authority.
Okay, maybe the reason you think Reeve has lesser leadership capability than Rufus is because we've never seen him reprimanding or being harsh to his underlings.
He also seems like ‘a loser' among the other executives (and that's if you disregard Palmer). But bear in mind that he chose to be patient here because he was the youngest executive and also probably has the humblest backgrounds, and the 'age difference' in Japanese culture is a big thing.
Also, Reeve being Reeve, he’d rather maintain peace than confront the other executives and potentially cause hostility which may lead to worse things.
He also needs to protect his underlings who work in Shinra.
Rufus is able to reprimand someone like Heidegger (who was obviously much older than him) because as the president, he is hierarchically above him.
And Japanese culture also places great importance on hierarchy regardless age difference as it shows in their honorific speeches.
After all, isn't it great to have an idea that the reason Reeve never reprimanded his subordinates is that he does not have any bad underlings?
Like... he is very good at screening his employees.

PAPA!ENJI AU CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
Tumblr media
hello ! this is some new content idea that i thought would help everyone understand their dynamic better, and if this turns out well i’d turn this into an event too, i hope you enjoy. with love, moon. cw : mentions of death, violence, suicide, slight yandere tendencies.
“if you (have to) choose between the fate of your partner or the fate of the world, what will you choose ?”
y/n’s answer : them
y/n is very selfish when it comes to her relationship with enji. there’s something with the way she thinks, that’s just different and not even i, her creator can fathom or tell if it’s good or not. she’s so emotionally intelligent it boosts her and even enji’s publicity. but at the same time, to her nothing matters other than enji and her brothers. she would gladly knock on devil’s door and put a bargain on things no one wants to know what is just to get her way.
enji’s answer : the world
this is pretty obvious. enji is officially japan’s number one hero, with a successful agency to lead aside from it. it naturally makes him a leader that will have no choice but to put others first, it’s his responsibility, it’s his fate.
“will you sacrifice yourself for the other person ?”
y/n’s answer : will
after all the todoroki discourse, y/n considers enji her life and death. she vowed to herself to do everything in her power and beyond to make sure enji can be happy with her. to her, death is painless. it is life that brings misery.
enji’s answer : will
this is self explanatory. even if their relationship remained platonic, enji’s parental love would still let him give up his life for her.
“can you kill your partner if they become a monster ?”
y/n’s answer : can not
as i stated previously, y/n is selfish when it comes to enji. she would rather sit back and watch the world gets consumed by hellfire if it means she can be with enji.
enji’s answer : can
he has his responsibilities as a hero, and sacrificing personal matters is at the top of the list. he knew what it’s like to lose a child, so he can have a better judgement of what he would do. it’d crush him though. he’d be on distraught for a long time.
“will you take revenge if your partner is killed ?”
y/n’s answer : will
enji is a hard man to kill, if he somehow got killed it would be because he was distracted like when dabi revealed himself as touya, or it would be because reinforcement came late. the latter would be worse though, there’s no limit to how far she would go.
enji’s answer : will
unlike y/n’s egocentric temper, enji wouldn’t blame it on reinforcement or other survivors. he’d use all his connections and power as the number one to find whoever’s responsible. i haven’t thought this enough but it’s possible that the grief gets too much for enji to handle, it completely dulls his hero tendencies. he not only will let your killer die a slow and painful death, but also their kid too. an eye for an eye.
“will you follow your partner to death ?”
y/n’s answer : will
there are two scenarios where i thought about this possibility may occur. scenario one would be if enji’s sacrificing himself to save everyone like fighting a villain or gets trapped etc, if that’s the case she’ll stay and let life play whatever joke it has on them, as long as she has him, it doesn’t matter. scenario two would be if enji died without her like for example in a hospital or a battleground where she’s not present, if that’s the case she wouldn’t straight up kill herself, she’ll see what happens after like if it was accidental or planned or anything, but im not disclosing anything though, she can be unpredictable when it comes to enji.
enji’s answer : will not
if the conditions are like as i stated with y/n, on scenario one enji would sacrifice himself with y/n so ‘she at least won’t be alone in her last moments’. meanwhile on scenario two, he’s gonna prompt for revenge, and maybe find a way to bring her back.
“possibility of marriage ?”
y/n’s answer : there is not
enji’s answer : there is not
enji is legally still married to rei in this au. even if their marriage wasn’t built on love and it’s practically ended, a divorce will stain his and his family’s name. they had a talk about this about two years after both of them became a thing, and there’s a mutual agreement on this matter. the todoroki legacy that has been built is way too valuable to taint. enji feels bad though, y/n has sacrificed way too much, even more than rei did. so enji did give her a promise ring, making it clear that he’s not messing with her feelings or taking her for granted. he wears that ring in place of his first one that he got with rei. on a more simple answer, i’m sure incest marriage is illegal. (too bad)
“at the end of the world will you be with your partner ?”
y/n’s answer : will
enji’s answer : will
there’s no need to elaborate further on y/n’s answer. however enji’s a bit tricky since he should be trying to save people, right ? but no. he’s still a person with his own desires before he is a hero. it’s not like the world ever sacrificed its life for him anyways. enji would stop by rei’s place where natsuo and shoto lives to give a last apology, then go somewhere nice with y/n to watch the skies darken for the last time.
“will you tell lies to your partner ?”
y/n’s answer : will
enji’s answer : will
both of them are similar in this. i guess this is where the todoroki genes take place. she would only do harmless lies like birthday surprises and when she’s hiding her struggles or something because really there’s nothing for her to lie about, while enji would lie to protect her from the harsh knowledge of the grown up’s world. he thinks you’re still too innocent for the world, and he’d like to keep it that way.
“your partner has been killed to end their hellish suffering, will you revive them ?”
y/n’s answer : will
by now, it’s clearing up that she has some yandere tendencies. it’s not to the extent that she beheads any woman breathing the same air as enji, but it’s enough to be delusional at times. in this case, if enji was killed then she’d go into a craze frenzy. it’s even worse because people will come up to her and say shit like “he’s happy now.” she’d think “he was happy with me too” and mutter it lots of times. kinda scary to the people around her, and if given the chance to revive him, she’d take it in a heartbeat. she’s sure she can make him happy.
enji’s answer : will not
well, how do i say it. enji do loves her, but the years difference in life experience between him and y/n makes all the difference. he thinks rationally, like a normal person do. he’s not that confident in making y/n happy in the first place either, it’s not like she was free from his shitty jerk behaviour back then, if not she even sometimes took the hit for his brothers too. he’s not sure if he ever really made you happy despite trying his best. thus if given such situation, his insecure ass would consider it best if he lets what has happened, happened.
“can you live your position and responsibility for your partner ?”
y/n’s answer : can
y/n’s still quite young, only a few years in her hero career. she doesn’t really have a lot to stake on to be frank. especially with her pesonality, it won’t be a hard choice. hell if enji asks her to be a homemaker she’d be delighted to resign.
enji’s answer : can not
he has too much responsibility, having achieved that much in such a young age means he has a lot in stake. it’s unprofessional too, it irks him to be anything other than that.
“what are the last words you will say to your partner before you part ways forever ?”
y/n’s answer : i will care for you always, that was my part of the deal.
enji’s answer : i’m sorry.
in my au, i only consider this possible to happen if rei wanted to get back together and enji had no choice but to agree. it would be a long shot though, it’s canon in my au that y/n despises her mother, she’d be on her neck the moment she got off the hospital, keeping her away from enji as much as possible. but if this scenario did somehow happen, i think y/n would give in. he’d do anything for enji at the end of the day. (as long as they still fuck regularly tho)
“would they want to meet each other again if they were reborn ?”
y/n’s answer : i want to
enji’s answer : i want to
maybe this time, he won’t be so insecure and flawed. maybe this time, she would fight harder for him.
“finally, one word to describe their relationship ?”
moon’s answer : romantic.
maybe they were doomed from the very start, but they loved each other with all they had. maybe it was wrong, and ugly at times, but still they were two romantics yearning for each other.
Tumblr media
this is the end of the character breakdown, thank you so much for making it this far and enjoying my papa!enji au. i appreciate all of you so much.

On being a boss
Piggybacking off my earlier comment about how politicians are employees; I don’t think enough people realize that that means we are their bosses. And while I know many folks who are reading this have never thought of themselves has being in a position of authority over anyone, the minute you become an eligible voter, that’s literally what you are. There are different names for it—voter, constituent, stakeholder—but it all means the same thing. You’re a boss, baby.
And that means you need to be an effective boss.
Think about how authority figures in your life have influenced you, either well or badly. Did the PTA meeting between your parents and your teachers always fill you with dread? That’s how politicians feel about polls. Do you hate getting summoned into a boss’s office to get reamed over something you did wrong? That’s how politicians feel about town halls. Did you get absolutely devastated over losing a job or not getting a job you really wanted? That’s how politicians feel when they get beaten in elections.
I’m not saying this to encourage you to have empathy for politicians—although honestly maybe remembering that they’re human beings once in a while wouldn’t kill some of you—but rather to show you how to be effective at getting your employee to do what you want.
Now, obviously there are some big differences in terms of scale; you are, please remember, not this politician’s only boss and almost certainly not their most influential. And politicians also listen to people who aren’t their bosses, like their donors or their family or their friends or their party leaders or the companies they came from pre-political career or the ones they want to join post-political career (they call it the revolving door for a reason). Those people aren’t their bosses, but they have pull all the same. So there’s that.
But even though the scale is different, all of us, no matter how young (including the 12-year-old who’s stumbled on this post) have had to deal with the pressures of multiple authority figures wanting us to do completely different things RIGHT NOW. So think back on those situations and consider what choices you made in those moments. Whose “orders” did you follow: was it the boss who would be most upset if you disappointed them, was it the boss who would retaliate the most harshly if you crossed them, was it the boss who would reward you if you pleased them, was it the boss who wanted you to do something that you yourself already wanted to do/planned to do anyway?
That’s not a trick question, I promise; chances are that your answer changes based on a shitton of variables. And because politicians are human beings, they also have different answers to that question. Sometimes they go with the people who gave them the most money in the last election (although that happens less often than you think, and way less often the more powerful a politician gets, for obvious reasons). Sometimes they go with the people who agree with them. Sometimes they go with the people who voted for them. Sometimes they even go with what they sincerely believe is right (anybody rolling their eyes at this wasn’t paying attention during the political massacre that took place after Dems rammed through the ACA in 2009; there are a dozen or so people whose political careers ended because they voted for it).
So as your politician’s boss, you have to figure out what tactic is most effective to get your employee to do what you want, because as nice as it sounds, you can’t just fire them every time they piss you off. So think about a politician whose mind you want to change—your Congressman doesn’t want to support climate legislation, let’s say. Look at her record and her interviews and past elections: what’s influenced her over the years and what’s changed her mind. Then you know where the pressure points are.
Of course you, by yourself, can’t make your politicians do whatever you want every time; not even whatever boogeyman people conjure up like the Koch brothers or Bill Gates or George Soros can do that (and believe me, a lot of them have tried). But, you do have more power than you think: you can attend a town hall and confront your wayward politician, you can volunteer for promising opponents, you can call her office and find out if her staff take in-person meetings (less common these days but my mayor does do zoom calls, lol). You can even run for something yourself; it’s really not as stupid as it sounds, especially if you’re not the only one in the field, because more people running is always a good thing. These are all time-consuming and energy-consuming options, and I know we’re all exhausted. But we’re also bosses, and we’ve got to do what we can to ensure our employees do the best job they can.
Besides, politicians change their minds based on their voters’ influence all the time—Bernie Sanders, for example, is a principled opponent of the US’s foreign policy and believes we should withdraw from the “forever wars” that we’ve been embroiled in for decades. But he also championed the construction of the... uh, not-exactly-practical F-35 fighter jet, which over the years has cost almost as much as the entire COVID relief bill that just passed. Sanders didn’t support it because he’s a hypocrite or a warmonger in disguise; he supported it because it brought crucial, desperately-needed jobs to Vermont, and he genuinely cares about his constituents. Sanders has also credited the influence of his constituents on his championing of queer rights and gay marriage, before most other politicians were sticking their necks out in support, because the people who spoke with him changed his mind. And while you can argue that Sanders is unique amongst politicians, he really isn’t; Biden himself came out in support of gay marriage just a couple years afterward—in an election year, no less, and I remember the absolute panic that set in about whether or not his radical notions would cost Obama reelection. (It’s weird thinking that it’s been a little under six years since Obergefell, isn’t it???)
Every day we’re seeing politicians getting pushed one way or another by their voters; the mayor of Austin had to go to court to defend his city’s mask mandate, for example, and Florida cities are fighting to keep their own mandates going despite their shitty governor doing everything he can to undermine them. (There are other examples but it’s Saturday morning, what do you want from me.) They can be pushed, and they should be.
To write politicians off as evil monsters who are doing a bad job because they’re just amoral is to ignore your job as their boss; if you want your employee to work for you, you’ve got to figure out why they aren’t (or if they aren’t, which: I could go into that whole thing but this is already longer than my dick). And then you can decide whether to push your influence, which you do in fact have, to either change them or replace them. It’s up to you. Go be a boss, baby.

The Dominators - Episode Two
Written by - Norman Ashby Director - Morris Barry Producer - Peter Bryant
Episode Two
("I've got to make them believe me, before it's too late!" - Cully to Zoe about saving the Dulcians before they're all either taken as slaves or killed.)
Likes
- Ooh, I like that the Dominators have a wall that can slide down and become a medical bay. That's nice. At least they have the equipment to actually pull off the looking at alien genetic makeup.
- I can't remember if he dies or not, but I sure hope not. I am loving Cully in this, just so much. Sass your way through life, my dude.
- Jamie agreeing to act stupid, when the Doctor told him to and saying that acting that way is easy. I love these two and the way they act around each other. Jamie's face after he had said it would be easy XD
- The fun of the Doctor and Jamie pretending to be Dulcians and bumbling their way around everything. But I especially liked the part with the gun. The Doctor used what little he knows of the Dulcians from this time period to use it against the Dominator. Nice.
- Zoe complaining about how the female uniform on Dulkis is impractical and doesn't feel right on her. I am just imagining what would happen if she was Polly instead. She loved playing with clothes and dressing up. Zoe prefers full body suits and practicality. Nice.
Dislikes
- Uh, maybe not mention very loudly that the Quarks need to save their power. It's like giving away your secrets to enemies who will use it against you.
- ...What kind of plan is this? "Oh yes, we nuked the site, the radiation's all gone now even though the area is still pretty much dead, let's make this shit site a holiday spot. People will love the nothingness going on of this historical event."
- Umm, the Dulcians are supposed to be an advanced race, yes? Why do they seem anything but?
- Did that Dominator at the end (I can never remember their names...) have the order to blow up and destroy the research station? I thought he was told to investigate not destroy. He's a bit more bloodthirsty than the leader.
Awesome
- Oooooh, my god, the props in this are so utterly silly and ridiculous I can't help but love them. Look at the silly as scanner glasses the Dominators use. Just...look at them.
- Look at that sideways view of the capsule. From that angle, they look like miniature rockets and nice to look at. Front view they look more like bullets with feathering on the sides. Like the Dulcians merged together arrows and bullets.
Shitty
- Don't really like the Quarks too much. They just seem....harmless, for a lack of a better word. They don't come across as intimidating. This may be a thing though about age and how I wasn't around in the 60's to watch this in real time. Maybe back then it was different? All my older whovians out there who were kids in the 60's, do you remember?
- Ooh, shadow of a boom mic got in there! Several times! Haven't seen that in a while XD
- This is likely to be on all of them, because just gyeh. Those shoulders on the Dominators. They go all around the back too. Those things must have been so horrible to wear.
In Conclusion
Not as boring as last episode, but not all that great either in places. Like that council meeting. What exactly was the point of that, except to see how annoying a bunch of people all in a room together can get while trying to talk over each other. Still, this one had a bit of fun in it, so I am happy with that.
The Doctor and Jamie shine in this, so much. Just pretending to be completely ignorant of everything. Zoe and Cully are also great to watch. Those two bounce off each other nicely. I also liked, as was up in my likes list, Zoe complaining of how impractical the clothes there are. Zoe, look, it could be worse. You could be wearing the Dominator outfit.
I also like Keel and Kando beginning to think and question things.
Much better than last episode but still on the meh side of the scale for Doctor Who episodes.
Body count - 0. No one but Zoe and Cully were in the station when it got blown up, and they were both very much alive in the last frame as the credits began to roll. Everyone else was definitely alive last we saw them.

What about an Akechi/Joker role swap AU where Akechi is still the detective prince and Joker is still the Shujin delinquent, but the major difference is that Morgana never lost his memories and found Akechi before he approached Shido with his metaverse assassination plot?
Like, imagine Akechi, bitter and jaded, who has just awakened Loki and felt the terrifying and thrilling rush of the berserk power. He's formed a plan to get back at his piece of shit father, even managed to set up a meeting, which he had to set up months in advance, and on the day he's going to present Shido with info on the metaverse, he winds up arriving a few minutes late, because even though he intended to be early, he was accosted by a talking cat (he's been in the metaverse, so he can hear him) on the way over, and in the whole wtf-ery of the moment, lost track of time. Shido, being Shido, refuses to see him and will not reschedule because he doesn't like having his time wasted.
Pissed off, Akechi leaves to find Morgana still waiting for him outside. So he doesn't look like an idiot yelling at a cat on the street, he brings Morgana back to his shitty apartment, where Morgana explains why he had found Akechi and whats up. He doesn't know about Yaldobaoth taking Igor's place, he just knows there's two champions, and Akechi was the one he found first, so he must be Igor's chosen champion. (It is my theory that it doesn't actually matter who was Igor's and Yaldobaoth's champions, it was more about the choices they each made and where they ended up.)
Akechi has no interest in saving the world, but he knows that if he wants to get back at Shido, he needs to become someone of consequence, so he agrees to undergo Morgana's training, since Morgana clearly knows more about the metaverse than he does, and he can use it to solve cold cases, earning him a place as the Detective Prince. He changes a few hearts, to pacify Morgana, too. It takes a couple years, but during his senior year in high school, he makes it, earning himself the cooperation of the police and the spotlight of the public eye. He's getting so close to making Shido notice him that he can practically taste it. Also, what’s this ‘velvet room’ he keeps dreaming about?
Then Morgana finds Kamoshida’s palace and is like ‘heyo, you thought changing hearts in the metaverse was cool, check this shit out’ and Akechi is admittedly intrigued , so he takes a look. He sees the inside of Kamoshida’s heart and is appropriately disgusted and says to Morgana, ‘hey we should totally kill this guy’s shadow.’ Morgana’s like ‘why is your first suggestion always murder, we don’t know what would happen if we killed his shadow, Igor wasn’t very clear about that bit, we should try stealing the treasure instead’ and Morgana has been useful (and it’s been really nice to have the company these past two years, though he won’t admit that) so Akechi agrees ‘fine, we’ll steal the treasure, but if that doesn’t work, then I’m killing his shadow.’
And that’s when Ryuji and Ann make an appearance (’ohmigawd, goro, be more careful with that damn app, i s2g.’) Ryuji’s mom apparently thinks Akechi is pretty neat and watches all his interviews, so Ryuji knows who he is and is delighted to find out that the lame-ass detective his mom has talked about is actually a grumpy badass in the metaverse, with this shadow that has some kind of insane power, and hey, he helped them bring down Kamoshida (alive,) so maybe he is actually pretty cool, even though sometimes he spaces out and talks about evil twins and some longed-nose dude. He decides then and there that he’s going to be Akechi’s best friend, since he apparently has none, and Ann is all too happy to join in for the ride, and all of Goro’s protests have fallen on deaf ears, and they know about the whole detective prince thing being a facade, so he might as well indulge them for now.
The ‘Phantom Thieves’ (a name that makes Goro want to roll his eyes whenever he hears it, and why is everyone calling him ‘leader?’) gain fame and change hearts, gaining new members such as this weird-ass artist dude who fights with ice, and oh, god, one Nijima is bad enough, don’t tell me there’s two! and she uses nukes, wtf?!
Around this time, he also meets Shujin’s delinquent, enigmatic transfer student whose talk of hope and justice never quite seem to reflect in his stormy grey eyes, and he and Goro are clearly birds of a feather in a way, he can tell, there’s just something about him, and he thinks this guy might actually be his best friend, but don’t tell Ryuji that, he’d never hear the end of it.
Akechi learns the truth behind Akira’s arrest and Shido’s involvement and he is disgusted to find that he genuinely wants to help this guy, and he can’t do that if Shido’s dead, maybe he doesn’t want his revenge as badly as he thought??? Oh, ew, I have feelings that aren’t anger and it’s all my friends’ fault, I can’t just leave them and go off to get revenge, they’d literally die without me, those lovable idiots. Also, when Ryuji saw his home, he pretty much insisted he stay with him instead, and Ryuji’s mom reminds him of the good times he had with his own mother, and he honestly doesn’t think he has the strength to disappoint her like that. So, he decides to change Shido’s heart, but he knows that there’s no way that this little group of miscreants is strong enough to take on the fucked up bullshit that he’s seen in Shido’s heart, so let’s hit pause on that for now.
Shido had Wakaba killed via completely non-supernatural ways and stole her research, same as before, so Futaba still has a palace. He found out Akira worked at Leblanc a while ago and started dropping by, and then somehow Ryuji found out about it, and now all the Phantom Thieves know, so much for a peaceful place to get away, but he actually doesn’t mind that much, and Akira lets Akechi keep an eye on the shop when there are no customers so he can go out and do errands and Boss doesn’t mind, so they’ve ended up hanging out there as a group from time to time and talking Phantom Thief business, so Futaba knows who they are, and asks for their help.
Okumura’s palace pretty much goes the same, Okumura dies somehow, are we responsible, why does murder actually make me feel kinda bad, stupid friends and their stupid good influence.
Goro attends the Shujin student fair as guest speaker, whoa, the class president being friends with Akechi does have its perks, doesn’t it? Akira finds them all there together and approaches them, tells them he saw them go into the metaverse, awakened his own persona, and saw a guy in a black mask kill Okumura’s shadow, hey why don’t I join you, you probably need all the help you can get, who’s heart are we stealing next, how about Sae, she knows my probabtion officer and has been giving me hell, plus I already checked, she definitely has a palace.
They agree, and oh, hey, Akira can hear Morgana talk now, but WAIT A MINUTE?! Didn’t he hear Morgana talk before when he told Goro that Leblanc didn’t sell sushi, even though Goro hadn’t asked for any?
They hack Akira’s phone, learn that Shido (Akechi recognizes that voice) will have thugs waiting to capture them when they leave the palace. They plan around it, pull the metaverse switch and manage to sneak a heavily drugged Akechi out of the warehouse Shido stashed him in by traveling through the metaverse. Shido’s lackey’s have written a fake suicide letter from the leader of the Phantom thieves, and the chief of police, under Shido’s orders, delivers a statement confirming its authenticity, and look the plan succeeded. All they need to do know is take down Shido.
Things are going great, until they get to the engine room, where Joker, having realized what happened, is waiting for them. Joker, who lost everything after he transferred, who discovered the metaverse completely alone, who didn’t mean to kill that guy’s shadow, but he attacked him first, and Shido had somehow known, had been keeping an eye on him, had him convicted for a crime that he didn’t commit in the hopes that he would break because he needed an agent in the metaverse, and so far he’s had no luck. Joker, who had nothing left to lose and had accepted the only hand that had reached out for him.
They fight, and when it looks like things are going badly for Joker, he pulls out... a second persona?!?! At least, it looks like a persona, but something about it is off. it looks familiar somehow. And then Akira asks if they knew it was possible to fuse personas and Akechi realizes what he’s looking at. These aren’t the clean executions that Caroline and Justine perform, these are personas that have been ripped apart and haphazardly thrown back together with no thought to form or elegance, look, there’s a Yaksini’s arm, and that bit right there clearly used to belong to a Rangda, and I think that piece might have belonged to a Seiryu, and Akechi should stop listing personas now because Ann thinks she’s going to be sick.
They keep fighting. Joker can’t understand the difference in power between them. After all, aren’t they the same? Unloved, unwanted, soldiers pitted against each other by some bullshit higher power?
When Joker shoots the bulkhead door closed and Futaba reports that she’s lost Joker’s reading, Akechi vows then and there that he’s going to kill Shido after all. And he almost does. He stands there, with his gun pressed to the head of the shadow of his father, his friends can’t blame him, and even Morgana knows better than to try and stop him. But he doesn’t. He remembers Akira’s madness there at the end, and wonders what he would have become of him if it weren’t for Ryuji, who somewhere along the way, he’d realized he’d stopped tolerating and started actually liking. Ann, who shared his woes about being in the public eye and swapped tips with him about how to handle the press. Yusuke, who, although he was still completely bizarre to him, appreciated the beauty in life and didn’t tease Goro for his taste in Grandpa clothes. Makoto, who knew the importance of hard work and who, between herself and her sister, had caused Goro to pick up some healthier coping mechanisms. Futaba, who made fun of him for his food blog, but liked the same nerd bullshit that he did and would bombard him with memes until his day somehow became a little less shittier. Haru, who dreamed of starting her own business and actually cared about Goro’s opinions, and could threaten someone with a smile in a way that even Goro was jealous of. And Morganna, who had reminded him what it was like to not be lonely, and demanded more sushi than he could afford, but always made sure Goro ate his fill, instead of getting so focused on his work that he forgot.
Akechi guesses that he must have turned soft somewhere during the past several months, but after seeing what happened to Akira, he can’t help but be grateful, knowing with certainty that if things had turned out differently, that would have been him. Hey, Morgana, you know that world-saving bs you talked about two years ago? Let’s leave this piece of shit here to rot and focus our attention on that instead.
And you guys know the rest.
Or, at least, that’s how I thought it would go. Feel free to share your thoughts. :)

red on red, nothing on everything - world maps
Hello hello! Welcome to the first reveal of the world of red on red, nothing on everything, my ongoing Kacchako A/B/O fantasy fanfiction. Last chapter, I asked readers if they wanted a map of the world to help visualize things, and one (1) whole person said yes, which was all the excuse I needed to clean up my already half-made maps and post ‘em.
If you’re not reading the fic, none of what’s below will make sense. But if you’re sticking around for shits and giggles anyway, all the better - hope you enjoy! ;)
I conceptualized the world long before I made any drawings, but I have little artistic skill so I wanted a software or online tool that could make really detailed, highly customizable maps. I found and used this really cool fantasy map generator for the base; it’s probably the most complicated, but also the most effective, worldbuilding tool I’ve ever come across; and while it’s not perfect, it has some really powerful functionality especially for the physical characteristics of maps. In addition, for my own clarity I added modifications, including the colouring and political delineations of the different regions, in FireAlpaca on my own by working on top of the baseline from the map generator.
PLEASE CLICK THE PICTURES FOR BETTER QUALITY.
Map #1 - Big Picture, “The Land”
Tumblr media
This world of this story does not have a name (at least not yet; I’m not sure it ever will). There are different regions that have been referred to in the story. Clans, essentially noble families, have settled down and split the territories by grouping themselves according to bloodlines. There are multiple clans within a given bloodline region; some are made up of fewer, like Lightning, while others, like Dawn, have numerous clans. The current regions of the world include: Fire, Ice, Wind, Dawn, Stone, Lightning Dust, and Twilight Bloodlines.
Black lines indicate bloodline borders; dark grey lines indicate a current clan border; light grey lines indicate former clan borders (for clans that do not exist at present); finally, red lines indicate the current borders of No Man’s Land, the disputed region in which outlaws and bandits thrive.
No Man’s Land stretches all the way from the north to the south, and forms the border region between the two groupings of allies in this world: Dust, led by King Shigaraki, allied with Lightning, Twilight, and Stone; and Fire, led by Todoroki Clan, (much more loosely) allied with Ice, Wind, and as of the current story moment, potentially Dawn.
The scale in the bottom indicates what two hundred miles is like on the map, but to be quite honest I might have changed this in the meantime and I’m really not sure if it’s accurate anymore.
I’ve been approximating The Land as a whole to be about the same size as the US state of Texas.
Now, zooming in somewhat where the action takes place.
Map #2 - Major Clans
Tumblr media
These are all of the clans that have so far been named in the story. From west to east:
Fire - Todoroki Clan; Dawn - Utsushimi, Jirou, Yamada, Uraraka, Yaoyorozu Clans; Lightning - Kaminari, Tesura Clans; Stone - Kirishima, Imasuji Clans; Dust - Shigaraki Clan.
(Not Pictured is Twilight - Chisaki Clan; but it is visible in the first map in dark purple in the south-east, next to its allies in lilac).
Capital letters indicate that that clan is the Master Clan of that particular bloodline. These clans are considered the most powerful and important, and act as leaders (or in worse cases, controllers) for the rest. At the moment, Todoroki Clan is the Master Clan of the Fire Bloodline; Kaminari Clan for Lightning; Imasuji Clan for Stone; and Shigaraki Clan for dust. (Chisaki Clan for Twilight, but it doesn’t fit on this map). Dawn is a splintered region and has no clear Master Clan.
Getting a bit closer, we can also see that No Man’s Land eats much more into the territory of Shigaraki-allied regions than it does into the territory of his enemies. Lightning and Stone in particular have large swathes of disputed territory.
Next, looking at the relief.
Map #3 - Major Locations and Natural Features
Tumblr media
Starting with the major locations, we can find the cities/towns that have so far been named in the story.
Starting in the west: Musutafu, the capital and seat of power of Todoroki Clan, the location of Castle Endeavour; Aichi, the largest city in Jirou Clan; Rozaryu, the largest city in Uraraka Clan; Shizuoka, the largest city in Yaoyorozu Clan. The Midoriya home sits on the border between Yaoyorozu and Uraraka Clans, and neither really knows to which the cottage belongs. Esuha is the largest city and capital of Kirishima Clan; Gunga is this for Kaminari Clan. Kamino (now destroyed), the city where the Bakugou Summer Estate was located. Deika, the capital and seat of power of Shigaraki Clan, where King Shigaraki and his Blackwitch reside in their castle.
Datsugoku is the capital of Imasuji Clan. It has been referred to in the story, but has not been named (you get a freebie if you’re reading this). The name is literally just Japanese for Muscular’s second villain name (Jailbreaker); I picked it because the man has no named notable locations associated with him and I got a little desperate. Plus it sounds kind of cool. Pretend it doesn’t mean anything in the context of the story lol.
In addition to these major cities, on the map we can see the shitty town in the south of Dawn where Katsuki and his pack first spy the undercover caravan that they end up ambushing in Chapter 1. It is located in Yamada Clan, and as mentioned in the most recent chapter (7), it is where Hawks intercepted Aizawa as well. We can also see the seedy town in Tesura Clan that was mentioned in Chapter 6; this is where Dabi missed a contract, but ended up having a wonderful evening with a barmaid and bartender who skipped out on their work to get in his pants.
The mountains are also labelled on the map. Yes, all of these names are taken from canon DnD material. They sound cool and that’s all that matters.
The majority of our action so far takes place in the Storm Horns, which curve around in Lightning territory. The three overpasses are also labelled; the eastern and western ones are well-known, while the central is not. In addition to these, several other mountain ranges are mentioned in the most recent chapter. In the far north we have the Spine of the World. Both that range and the Sword Mountains in Stone extend beyond what is visible on the map. The Star Mounts are also present in the mid-eastern region of Dust, and the Greypeaks and Cloud Peaks are in the south, going through Lightning, part of Dust, and Twilight.
Finally, I thought it might be useful to take a look at where the characters have moved thus far.
Map #4 - Major Locations and Character Movement
Tumblr media
I’ve split this into different sections, as labelled on the map. It might be a bit hard to see, but click for better quality.
Part 1 (white) - Ochaco travels from Rozaryu to Musutafu for her wedding to Shouto, a trip of just over 200 miles, escorted by Aizawa and a caravan of Todoroki Clan fighters. She passes through Aichi (Jirou Clan) and several other Dawn Clans.
Part 2 (red) - The Todoroki caravan is intercepted around the halfway point with a night ambush by Shigaraki fighters. Ochaco is taken. They swing south and end up in the shitty town in the south of Dawn (Yamada Clan), where katsuki and his pack spot them. This is roughly 130 miles.
Part 3 (red and white) - Katsuki and his pack move ahead on the road, crossing into Lightning Territory (Kaminari Clan) to set up an ambush for the Shigaraki caravan. It’s about 30 miles of travel, which is also traversed shortly after by the Shigaraki caravan itself. The ambush goes well, they take the caravan, and move.
Part 4 (white) - Katsuki and the pack discover Ochaco in the caravan. They decide to move up the mountains for added safety, stopping halfway up the Storm Horns. This is roughly another 30 miles, part of which is mountainous ascent. They interrogate Ochaco, and at that point Imasuji Gouto and his warriors attack.
Part 5 (dashed red) - After surviving the attack and spending some time separated on the mountainside, Katsuki and Ochaco meet and agree to travel together to follow the pack. Katsuki proposes they take the central overpass, move very quickly and cut the pack off on the road they will take back to Datsugoku (labeled as Planned Ambush). This would be approximately 60 miles.
Part 6 (dashed cyan) - The path Katsuki deduces Imasuji will take. Imasuji will double back, take the eastern overpass, and head straight north to Datsugoku, allowing Katsuki and Ochaco to ambush them on the way if all goes according to plan.
Of course, all does not go according to plan.
And that’s it! I had a lot of fun worldbuilding for this story, almost as much as doing the actual writing, and I’m glad I got to share even a part of it with you guys. My ask box is always open to answer any questions about it!
And of course (ha!), you can find red on red, nothing on everything right here on AO3.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading! :)

Time travel au info dump part 2 electric bulagoo!
For context of the au
Last I ended it on the election arc with the timeline changes so I’m going to continue off that and such.
Timeline changes:
-Tubbo is a good leader and is much better than Wilbur or Schlatt ever was. L’Manberg soon starts actually looking pretty like in the construction arc. So people favor Tubbo more and the country doesn’t go into shambles immediately.
-Due to Quackity forcing character development on Schlatt, he is...trying to play nice. He’s still a bit of an asshole but is significantly better. This would also mean that he is going to try to reconcile with Wilbur, and while the process is a bit rocky, they eventually become friends again.
-The Badlands still becomes it’s own faction because even with Tubbo being president and doing a good job, Wilbur wasn’t exactly the best president for the country. So while the faction forms a bit slower, it does form within about 3 months into the presidency.
-Dream is full on suspicious of the time travelers, especially with the fact that they know so much about what is happening in the server, who is whitelisted, and more. It doesn’t help that there is a lot of weird magic coming off of them (Nonhuman Dream is my jam).
-This would soon lead to Dream putting up a large bounty on the time travelers and asked the Badlands and other Neutral parties to hunt them down. Dream gave his word to the Badlands to offer them their own land if they help him and as for the other Neutrals? Well money and other resources does help them sing his tune instead.
-Tubbo, Fundy, and Quackity are now outlaws because of this and while the presidency probably negates that, you really can’t disagree with the admin of the SMP so now they are running for their lives.
-The Badlands soon becomes it’s own independent country and take L’Manberg. Their rule isn’t bad as Schlatt’s and it is actually not that bad but everyone agrees that they would like L’Manberg back.
-Tommy and Wilbur propose to start up an underground revolution, and name it “Pogtopia” this time with just the idea of getting their land back. Niki, Schlatt, and Eret are apart of this. Techno soon joins as well because of revolution. Don’t worry guys! He will be very loyal to them and won’t betray them at all!
-Fundy, Quackity, and Tubbo on the meanwhile is just running for their lives and trying make sure that the timeline doesn’t fall apart and the whole thing doesn’t go boom again.
-Wilbur doesn’t go too far on the deep end but still says they should use TNT to JFK the Badland members. Schlatt, because I refuse to believe that either of them has a braincell, is absolutely on board with the plan. They are both paranoid and everyone except Techn is giving them a powerpoint on why they shouldn’t blow up the Badlands.
-Tubbo at some point gets captured and while he isn’t publicly executed like before, he still does get a firework to the chest in the squirmish of trying to get Tubbo out.
-Wilbur does not have the TNT resources from Dream like before, so at best he gets enough TNT to just blow up where the Badlands are located at.
-Badlands vs Pogtopia war is a go and George still goes and just makes a nice little house in the middle of it.
And that’s about it in the timeline changes within the series. Might change some things but for now this is the basic timeline.
Notes:
Fundy, Tubbo, and Quackity all have some tells that something is off with them. Fundy would noticeably keep Wilbur at arm’s distance, Tubbo has a strong dislike for fireworks and does not like the Tubbox joke anymore, and Quackity would flinch when people’s voices are raised or if they move too fast. They need therapy and a hug.
Schlatt after his character development decides to introduce Quackity to the Lunch Club and everyone just agrees that Quackity is the weird younger brother Schlatt never had.
Quackity, Tubbo, and Fundy are all very good at combat due to age and it shows. The Dream SMP and L’Manbergians have noticed the sudden advancement in Tubbo’s and Fundy’s fighting skills. Quackity is the only one without any sudden spikes of fighting level known due to how he was added to the server after the Revolution.
BadBoyHalo is also suspicious of the time travel squad but doesn’t bring it up until Tubbo and him start to do some negotiations about L’Manberg. Needless to say Tubbo was scared shitless but Bad reassured him that he won’t tell anyone unless it is needed.
Pet wars happen a lot less due to Fundy interfering with many of these. Fungi and Henry are he only casualties but this still leads to the Battle of the Lake.
Quackity dropped in a conversation once with L’Manberg squad about some experiences with alternate Schlatt and how shitty he was. Everyone was willing to beat him up with no knowledge that Quackity was talking about alternate Schlatt.
(Quackity: Man my old boss was shit man, he went and just didn’t listen to anything I said and tried to convince me to pinion my wings. :(
Everyone:
Schlatt: I’m sorry he what-)
That’s about it so far, I’m going to go and take a nap now and se if inspiration hits again. Anyway I’ll put in some actual plot besides just a timeline at some point.

@aromantic-enjolras, @p-trichor
*awkward wave* hiiiiiiii:))))
okay so i know i said i would write this last week, but tbh, last week was a w e e k (fuckyouanxiety)
anyways, i have written down my headcanons for the werewolf au! it is a bit of a mess, and it probably doesn't make much sense but! i did it!:))
i honestly wasn't planning on writing this much tho, it kinda got away from me lol, but i would have written more tbh, if it wasn't already so long
(also now that i have written this i really want to draw this whole thing, somebody please s t o p m e)
(also if anyone wants to take this shitty au idea and actually write a fic, i would be absolutely delighted! and! i would love to do art for it!:))))
enjoy this mess i guess:))))
General:
This is a fantasy au, set in a slightly ambiguous time period (I'm thinking anywhere from the middle ages, to today, mixed together and thrown in a blender:)))
Werewolves and other monsters live side by side with humans, but often have to hide their identity for fear of discrimination and unjust prosecution
Les Amis de l'ABC Is an activist group, fighting against the discrimination of werewolves and other monsters
The group consists of both humans and non-humans
Grantaire:
He was born with lycanthropy, as the result of a curse placed upon his parents before he was born
His parents didn't want a wolf child, so they abandoned him in the woods as a newborn, where he was found by an old woman who took him in
The old woman had been raised by witches, and though not skilled in the art of magic herself, had quite the talent for medecine, and remedies, and was well equipped to take care of a young werewolf
And so, for most of his childhood, Grantaire and the old woman lived peacefully and happily in a small cottage in the woods
The old woman taught him to read and write, and gifted him with books on mythology, art, and magic, and on full moon nights, he would be allowed to roam the woods
When he was eight he met Enjolras for the first time
They never knew each other by name, they were just two children playing together in the woods, referring to each other as 'friend'
A year later Grantaire tells Enjolras about his lycanthropy, and the following week, Enjolras stops coming to the woods
Grantaire learned to keep his lycanthropy to himself after that
When he was seventeen, Grantaire left the safety of the small cottage behind, wanting to explore more of the world than the woods he had been raised in. He left the old woman with the promise that he would write home with tales of his adventures, and would visit whenever he was in the area.
A werewolf is not, as you might have heard, some kind of vicious, mindless beast. If you stay out of it's path and treat it with respect, it should pose no particular danger, to anyone but the fools stupid enough to threaten it.
Unfortunately most people do not know this fact, and Grantaire quickly learned to hide everything that about himself that tied him to the wolf.
He was nineteen, when the old woman he had lived with his whole childhood, sent him a letter telling him not to come visit anymore. A while later he found out that she had been arrested and executed for alleged crimes against the country. And he realized, that her letter had not been her rejecting him, but a warning, and that her only crime had been housing a werewolf.
Around the same time, he started drinking. He started sleeping around with anyone who would take him. And he fell into cynicism and depression
The boy who had been raised with love and care, and had gone out into the world, hopeful, and eager to create his own path, had now seen just how cruel the world could be to anyone it deemed a threat, or viewed as different. He was done fighting.
When he was twenty five he met Les Amis de l'ABC, and he fell in love. For the first time in six years, he felt hope again.
Enjolras:
Ejolras was born with a tail. No one knew exactly how or why, except maybe his parents, but to them the fact that their only child had a tail, was their greatest shame, and as far as they were concerned, it had to stay hidden at all times
In every other aspect, Enjolras was perfect. Having been born with beautiful golden locks, and radiant blue eyes, and being rather mild marrered, his parnents would recieve many compliments on their child's good looks and behaviour
Enjolras might have been a soft spoken child, but his favourite thing was playing outside in the woods, much to his parents frustration. Enjolras also did not like his parents very much
Enjolras' parents were very conservative, very outspoken against anything they didn't agree with, and most of all, not very good people. Not that anyone but Enjolras seemed to notice this, they were wealthy after all, and were respected members of the community.
When Enjolras was six, he met Grantaire and he made his first friend
Grantaire doesn't care that Enjolras has a tail. Grantaire doesn't care that Enjolras likes to play outside, and gets dirty sometimes. Grantaire doesn't care that he doesn't wear the dresses his mother buys him, or that he isn't really a girl.
Grantaire is weird, and he is Enjolras' favourite person
When Grantaire tells him that he is a werewolf, Enjolras knows his parents are wrong
He gets in a fight with them.the following week, and the next day his parents hire a surgeon to remove his tail, and he is shipped off to boarding school
Enjolras cries for weeks after that
At school he meets Combeferre and Courfeyrac, and they quickly become his most trusted friends
It's not until years later that he realizes that neither of them are completely human, and he accepts them fully , just as they have always accepted him
When he is thirteen, his two best friends are sent away, and for the first time in seven years he feels entirely alone
At sixteen he runs away from home, and from school, and from everything he has ever known.
The first of the amis he meets is Bahorel. They meet after he gets into a fight with three people twice his size, and Bahorel saves him. He proceeds to call Enjolras an idiot, and takes him under his wing.
Bahorel is seven years older than him, and a werewolf, and he introduces him to Feuilly and Jehan (a human and a wood nymph)
He meets Joly and Bossuet next
Joly is dabbling in witchcraft next to his medical studies, an Bossuet is his boyfriend who has been cursed from an early age with bad luck
Enjolras takes to his new friends instantly and together they form Les Amis de l'ABC
Enjolras is twenty and he is the leader of an activist group fighting for the rights of every creature and human alike
Two years later Combeferre and Courfeyrac finds him again
They find him by accident, having heard of the group and decided to attend a meeting. The moment Enjolras sees them, his eyes light up, and he embraces them both in a crushing hug. The rest of the group warms up to them immediately
A year later Grantaire joins them, and Enjolras doesn't recognize him

I respect your view on the Ayo/Bucky fight. I personally don’t share this view but I believe you’re free to do you! What I really don’t agree with is telling people they’re wrong for seeing both sides. I’m not saying Ayo was wrong, I empathise with her. But I also empathise with Bucky too. You can understand & criticise both characters. I’m not saying you have to agree with me, but it would be nice if we could all respect each other’s views here instead of spreading needless hate. Peace & love, have a nice day!
*sigh* Let me tell you a story. Imagine, if you will, a person going to a beautiful *~exotic~* place.
He is so happy that the people seem so welcoming! They allow this person to stay for a bit, maybe grant some inner-circle cultural markers... such as local craft or a local familiar name. Now, imagine this culture has NEVER let anyone inside their country before... because you see, every other country surrounding it has been subject to decimation, destruction -the greed and pillaging of outsiders. Imagine that this person they sheltered, was initially thought to be the person who killed their beloved leader.  But they find out he’s actually the most notorious assassin in history.
STILL...
They not only treat this man’s broken mind, but allow him peace for two whole years. Imagine the kind of trust and how much THEY GAVE... while knowing this man was never going to be able to grant anything close to what they gave him.
Now, imagine the kind of FUCKED UP ENTITLEMENT a person would have to have to think there’s a both sides here...
When THAT MAN decides to free the man who killed their king.
Imagine the weird jujitsu logic one must employ to think these people owe this person anything after such a HUGE betrayal of their hospitality, their trust, their inclusion of him in their culture!
Just. Imagine.
EVERYTHING this man is, every stitch of healing he has managed post-Steve he owes to these people who by all rights, should have treated him like every other outisder they’ve witnessed throughout history torturing and destroying neighboring peoples...
If you can still fix your fingers to type out anything about this being an equal yolk or both sides...Please kindly FUCK RIGHT OFF and NEVER in your natural life travel ANYWHERE.
The people of the world deserve better than someone bringing that kind of shitty entitlement to their culture.
