ReiKasa x Marvel Cinematic Universe Crossover Headcanon #023

Reiner and Mikasa both are very profound in terms of their raw strength and savior energies. In cross fandom universes, they would be the ultimate superhero couple. Well, Reiner very possibly would begin as an anti-hero from Marley who would eventually discover an initial kindred spirit type of camaraderie before it develops into an intense battle synergy & palpable chemistry with the all-Eldian super heroine, Mikasa Ackerman. From two opposing forces, Reiner and Mikasa would somehow find their stars aligned in the cosmos that would bind them together as each other's ride or die. With that in mind, these 3 pairings from the Marvel Cinematic Universe would best be embodied by ReiKasa in their own special ways.

1) Thor & Mighty Thor (Jane Foster)

Apart from sharing similar physique - buff and sturdy body frame and roguish facial shape and hair, Reiner embraces Thor's honor, pride and an almost fallen out of grace moment in his life as he goes through a period of lost and searching for himself. Thor finds himself allying with the Guardians of the Galaxy in order to save the remaining humanity from Thanos (which more or less had an almost similar ideal as SnK's big bad, Eren Jeager), same as what Reiner did in SnK's final arc when he allied with the surviving elite members of the Survey Corps.

Meanwhile, Mikasa would embody the Mighty Thor's relentless fight for the greater good even if she knows that by doing so, she would be sacrificing the most important part of herself all for humanity. This resonated so well in SnK's canonverse. Mikasa has a steely resolve to save humanity at all costs, the same way Jane Foster did as the Mighty Thor. If Mjolnir had chosen Jane as the one worthy enough to wield it, the Founder Ymir had chosen Mikasa to be the one who eventually eliminates the Titan curse & liberates her from her 2,000 years worth of inter-dimensional self-imposed imprisonment.

Traits: The couples shares resilience, bravery and impeccable teamwork.

And just imagine, Thor!Reiner holding Stormbreaker standing back to back with MightyThor!Mikasa wielding Mjolnir as the God & Goddess of Thunder?

2) Iron Fist (Danny Rand) & Colleen Wing

Dubbed as the daughter of the Dragon, Colleen Wing is a martial artist and instructor. Similar to Mikasa, who's of Japanese blood (Hizuru in SnK), both are exceptional blade wielders and hardened fighters. Where Colleen used Chi manipulation, Mikasa was blessed with awakened Ackerman powers that blessed them both with superhuman strength. Both bear a strong character based on discipline, and both prefer to fight their own battles rather than have someone else do the job for them. Mikasa & Colleen uphold a specific code of conduct - loyalty, courage, veracity, compassion, and honor above all else.

Meanwhile, Reiner and Danny, were both blessed with amazing powers from a mythical legend. Both were forced to survive through a rough childhood and intense systematic training as children. Danny inherited the power of the Iron Fist through the heart of K'un-Lun's mythical beast, Shun-Lao the Undying while Reiner inherited the power of the Armored Titan through his predecessor.

Traits: The couples are very in-sync in battles with complementing styles & moves. And yes, exceptional tag team energy.

3) Moon Knight (Marc Spector/Steven Grant) & Scarlet Scarab (Layla El-Faouly)

Marc Spector (Moon Knight) is a character which is well known for his DID, whereas he has 3 identities/alters which draw similarities to Reiner's duality in the series (despite SnK's guidebook stating that it's fictional 'schizophrenia'), where it was shown that Reiner dissociated heavily that he had two sides - Warrior and Soldier. It may not necessarily be a different consciousness but it involved something as equally complex. Both Marc and Reiner's psyche began to split due to a traumatic incident when they were younger and both are/were in military. Where Marc Spector (one of the alters) was chosen as an avatar by the Egyptian Moon God, Khonshu, Reiner was chosen to wield the Armored, one of the Nine Titans in his universe.

Layla is Marc's (& Stephen) wife who works together with her husband to stop a villain & an ancient deity from unleashing judgment & destruction upon humanity, very similar to Reiner, Mikasa and the Alliance's combined efforts to stop Eren Jeager's the Rumbling through the ancient Founder's will. Layla, (spoiler alert!), is also a chosen avatar by one of the Egyptian Goddess, granting her many abilities including superhuman strength, agility, durability, stamina and reflexes, which are similar to Mikasa's Awakened Ackerman powers.

Traits: The couples have distintinctive battle prowess and deeply care about the other. Despite the challenges and separation, they persevered to protect mankind through the powers that were bestowed upon them.

"Fighting Game... Is something so Great!"

I've left two spots empty, which games are you adding and why?

All the big names are pretty much there, except Killer Instinct, Darkstalkers and, if you nasty, Fighting EX Layer, but I've barely touched DS and EX Layer and I've never had any console that KI was available on so I really don't have enough experience to talk about them. Smash is also missing because it's not a fighting game platform fighters are kind of their own separate sub genre than traditional fighting games and, again, is only available on systems that I don't own.

Anyhow, just go play fighting games. They're awesome.

Note

Here's a thought: Steve has a Ryu Number of 1, which he qualifies for through at least 2 different games: Minecraft: Bedrock Edition, and Super Smash Bros. Which character would have the largest number of games they could qualify for a Ryu Number of 1 through?

And a follow up question: which character not from Street Fighter has the largest number of games they could qualify for a Ryu number of 1 through?

Breadth isn't my strong suit, so it's entirely possible that my cursory research is incorrect. That being said, the answer seems to be, unsurprisingly, Chun-Li. The specific number is a little weird since there's the open question of "how many versions of a game do you count", but excluding Limited Ryu Number-only appearances like Fortnite, Ryu and Chun-Li share a grand total of (give or take) 47 games.

Late April rain pitter-patters against Eren’s car windows, and Mikasa watches the droplets race down the glass. She blows into the paper cup in her hand, cooling down her hot cocoa before she takes a long, slurping sip.

Since they’ve begun hanging out more frequently over the past couple of months, Eren has offered almost every day to drive her home (or wherever she wants to go) after school. Usually, Mikasa rejects him: she tells him that she likes biking because the movement calms her overactive mind.

(Plus, she doesn’t want to feed the gossipmongers in Trost, who would undoubtedly tell Mama that they spotted Mikasa in the car with some suspicious-looking boy.)

But today, with the rain freely falling since lunch period without any signs of stopping, Mikasa has finally relented and asked Eren to pick her up from school. Her bike is tucked in his car trunk, and they’ve decided to grab some warm drinks and park at the overlook on the other side of town — a treat and some time together before he drops her off, always a block away from her house and away from potentially prying eyes.

It’s been nice: how comfortable Mikasa has started to feel in Eren’s presence, how he has started to anticipate her needs, how he likes to treat her to things, just because. It feels nice to be taken care of, she thinks to herself as she sips on her hot cocoa and as Eren intertwines his hand with hers, his fingertips dancing on her skin.

“You okay?” He puts his emptied coffee cup into the cup holder and starts to draw more deliberate circles on her skin with his thumb.

Mikasa hums her assent, then sighs. “Just feeling a little wound up,” she responds, her voice breathy. “Just… thinking about a lot of stuff. School. Some things I need to do this weekend for the spring formal. Family stuff.”

He hums understandingly, then leans over to press a kiss to her temple. He’s always very sweet, very tender with her — and Mikasa relishes the fact that she gets to see this side of the boy who seems so menacing to everyone else in town.

“Need a distraction?” he murmurs against her hair.

Mikasa doesn’t even answer. She just turns her head for a kiss. She tastes his coffee’s bitterness and the remnants of the cigarette he smoked earlier, probably right before he picked her up. And she’s grateful when, still attached to her lips, Eren takes her half-empty cup from her hands: she takes advantage of her freed fingers and threads them in his long hair.

She doesn’t even have to signal anything, and Eren knows that she needs him to kiss her more ferociously. He massages her lips open. Licks her tongue and the roof of her mouth. Mikasa gets dizzy, lightly whimpers at the overwhelming taste of him — and, unthinkingly, she untangles one hand from his locks so she can grab his wrist to place his hand on her inner thigh.

Eren breaks away from her mouth with a gasp. He pants heavily, obviously trying to calm himself down, as he stares — entranced, marveling — at his tan hand absentmindedly rubbing circles under Mikasa’s skirt, on her pale and silky smooth thigh.

“You sure?”

Mikasa feels like she’s lost all faculties of speech, answers his question instead with a soft whine and by opening her legs wider for him. Eren looks down, his eyes darkening at the damp white cotton peeking from beneath her skirt. Then, without prompting, he takes his thumb and presses it firm against her center — Mikasa winces, arches her back off the seat, her eyes squeezing tight and her fingernails digging into his neck, as he rubs the calloused pad of his thumb slowly, but deliberately, a little forcefully, against her quickly wetting center.

But she doesn’t have a right to, can’t even deny how much she misses his ministrations on her center — and his smirk shows that he knows it. Then, she gasps in surprise as Eren pulls the seat’s lever and the passenger seat zooms back, making just enough room in front of her for someone to nestle between her legs.

She giggles like a maniac as she watches Eren climb out of the driver’s seat and over the center console. He’s cursing up a storm: he can barely squeeze through the cramped space, and Mikasa would be worried that he’s going to pull a muscle or tweak his back — if she weren’t so entertained by how ridiculous he looks.

But her giggles die on her lips — although her smile doesn’t fade and her blush deepens — when he finally settles between her legs. His face is flushed from the effort he exerted. But his eyes, usually vibrant blue-green, have become nearly black. Mikasa shivers in anticipation, both fearful and eager to discover what Eren is about to subject her to...

Kneeling in the cramped space between her legs, Eren leans forward, and Mikasa hungrily meets his lips in a fevered kiss. There's an urgency in his movements, as he slants his mouth over hers, then as his lips travel across her jawline, down her neck, across her collarbone.

Mikasa's breath quickens into desperate pants — and she whiningly curses as Eren palms her center, the first time that he's ever touched her this way... The pads of his fingers caress the cloth where she’s wettest; the heel of his palm deliciously presses down on the spot where she’s most sensitive.

And Mikasa gasps and her face contorts in pleasurable discomfort when he slips his middle finger past the gusset of her underwear and into her cunt. Eren’s eyes widen, and his jaw drops. But he quickly recovers — gives her a smirk and tugs on one of her loose curls. He smiles as it bounces back into a tight coil.

“I know I love you, Mikasa.”

i have fallen down the rabbit hole of game collecting and i own a good few systems now. i'm curious about getting a dreamcast but i've been putting it off because i kind of expect myself only to get the two Sonic Adventure games on it. (i have a Wii so i could always get their gamecube ports, even though sadx is quite bad)

do you think a dreamcast is worth the investment? i know i'm probably missing some obvious hits on the platform

I still think SA1 (obviously) and SA2 play best on the Dreamcast.

As for other Dreamcast games, hm. There are a handful of games that never really came to other platforms, including:

Cannon Spike, the home console port of Capcom's top down arcade shooter. You can play as Cammy and Mega Man. It's fun but not incredible (like all arcade games, there's about 20 minutes worth of content).

Chu Chu Rocket, which probably needs no introduction. It had a GBA port, which is also pretty good, but you can't beat the Dreamcast original.

If you ask me, Crazy Taxi also plays best on Dreamcast, unless you have access to an arcade machine with a wheel (though the Gamecube version is probably fine). And Crazy Taxi 2 has yet to see release on any other platform (unless you count Crazy Taxi 3 on Xbox, but that's a different beast).

Blue Stinger and Illbleed are sort of legendary games that never left Dreamcast. I think even fans of these two games would agree they're not very fun, but they are deeply interesting and very weird.

I think D2 was practically a launch title for the Dreamcast and one of the first multi-disc games. People talked about it a lot at release but don't anymore. I have no idea what it's like, outside of it being a horror game.

Floigan Bros. is absolutely miserable. Peter Moore said it was going to be Sega's "Super Mario Bros." I think. It's a point and click adventure game and was going to be episodic. Only one episode ever came out. But it's so bad it's worth owning.

Since I've already recommended games of questionable quality, I suppose it's worth pointing out that Sonic Shuffle has also never left the Dreamcast.

It came out on other platforms, but I think the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 is considered to be the best one. Other versions have weird changes or missing features, whereas the Dreamcast version is apparently the best of all worlds.

I think the Dreamcast is also home to the only console ports of Sega Rally 2 and Zombie Revenge. The latter is basically a House of the Dead Beat'em'up.

Metropolis Street Racer is also a Dreamcast exclusive, and while older racing sims aren't usually sought-after, I had fun when I revisited this last year.

Super Magnetic Neo is also unique and probably worth looking in to.

As is Super Runabout: San Francisco. Had fun with that one last year, too.

Which is to say nothing about Soulcalibur.

The Dreamcast version of Skies of Arcadia seems to have better visuals on Dreamcast, but a worse difficulty curve and less content. Pick your poison.

Games that may also be worth looking in to that I am not super familiar with: Cosmic Smash, Fighting Vipers 2, Headhunter, Maken X, PenPen Tri-Icelon, POD Speed Zone, Psychic Force, Stunt GP, Toy Commander, Sword of the Berserk, Confidential Mission, Tokyo Xtreme Racer 1 & 2, Ecco the Dolphin: Defender of the Future, Fur Fighters

Don't forget unreleased games: Half-Life, Propeller Arena, and a Dreamcast prototype of Toejam & Earl III.

Other Great Dreamcast Ports: Dynamite Cop, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Marvel vs. Capcom 1 & 2, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Capcom vs. SNK 1 & 2, Mark of the Wolves, Last Blade 2, Guilty Gear XX, Mr. Driller, Powerstone 1 & 2, Project Justice, any of Capcom's "For Matching Service" games, Dead or Alive 2, Ikaruga, and Bangai-O.

My only concern with collecting Dreamcast stuff is that the console has a tendency to burn itself out after enough time. The GD-ROM laser doesn't last forever (I know mine is on its last legs) and it is basically impossible to service. Most people seem to go the route of installing an SD card loader or something.
