People that say mutual pining is the best trope are simply in correct. The best trope both in fanfics and regular books is mutual thirsting. There's nothing better than having two characters that want each other and they know they want each other so you get all the playful banter and flirting plus the anticipation that comes with waiting for them to finally give into their desires.

Some of the Most Story Moments of All Time:

Hand kisses

Forehead touches

First kiss between character who has been pining for ages and character whose feelings have always been hidden/unclear

Desperate weeping in the arms of someone the character loves

Desperate weeping in the arms of someone the character hates, because that's the only person there

Someone whose head is lowered in shame having it lifted up with a gentle hand under the chin, only to see forgiveness in the eyes of someone who has every right not to give it

Trying not to cry, only for something small and inconsequential to shatter the character completely

Noses brushing before or after a kiss

When they're kissing and crying at the same time, tears mingling

When a character's friend or beloved is in danger and they go quiet and/or silent, and anyone who knows them knows they just got a lot more dangerous

A character stroking someone's hair

When they know they have a lot they need to say to each other-good, bad, or other-but they're both so exhausted that they just sink to the ground, words temporarily put aside for rest, for listening to each other's quiet breaths

When a character has one specific thing they always use to get through to/comfort someone they love, and one day they have to use it under extreme circumstances (the other character is brainwashed, for instance) and it works

Similarly, a character stepping closer to a brainwashed character, ignoring the warnings, because "I know you won't hurt me"

When two characters who have had several almost-kisses finally get their kiss

Dancing but with a threat behind it; the assassin dancing with the target, and they both know who the other is, but they're both too careful to make a scene, so they sway in each other's arms, faces serene, as if one isn't holding a knife on the other and the other doesn't have a gun resting against the one's back

I think applying tropes commonly found in Sonadow fics to other sonic ships is very funny

Like today I saw the cute posts by Blu-ish about how hedgehogs circle and headbutt eachother when courting and how Sonic and Shadow would do that and I agree.

However I think the implication that mobian hedgehogs do this is HILARIOUS when applied to ships that only involve one hedgehog.

Like Silver starts circling around Espio one day and lightly shoving him with his hip or his shoulder and Espio is like: ???? What are you doing??

Or even Blazamy like- Amy keeps circling Blaze and the less Blaze reciprocates Amy does it more to try to get Blaze to react. Blaze eventually just tries to politely tell Amy to stop cause it’s hard to hold conversation while she’s moving all around.

But later Blaze talks to Silver and is like: “I have no idea what she is trying to do…perhaps she is finding a weakness in my stance? Should I fear her hunting me for sport???”

And Silver is like: uh. Well. I think she’s hitting on you? It’s a hedgehog thing.

And Blaze just freaks out because WHAT DO YOU MEAN AMY WAS FLIRTING WITH HER

I love krusie but I don't think they would do normal "couple's" stuff even if shipped romantically. Susie chomps Kris's head every day in the lunch room and huffs their apple hair all day during class and brawls them in the hallways and nobody knows they're dating until 6 months in when Toriel makes some remark about "Kris's girlfriend" and everybody loses their shit
