As I mentioned before, I do take requests! Now I do wanna start this off by saying:

I consider myself an ORIGINAL AUTHOR. I mostly write ORIGINAL WORKS. Though those take quite a long time to come out and sometimes I want to write but not focus on larger, original projects- so I take REQUESTS and write MY OWN fanfictions, but those are LOW on the priority list. I spend the majority of my time writing WORKING ON ORIGINAL WORK, so I do want to say FANFICTION REQUESTS MAY TAKE A WHILE TO GET SENT OUT. My boundaries when writing fanfiction will not always align with my boundaries when writing original fiction. I want to respect the original piece of media and the creatives behind it- so I refrain from writing anything particularly heavy, intense, or mature that has not happened in the original piece or anything incredibly off-canon. I also know the large majority of those who read/request fanfiction are minors, and I want to be able to give them a place to read lots of fics without worrying about coming across anything particularly disturbing. Writing Prompt? Kinda

I’ve had this idea for a while now but I haven’t been able to really put it into a story because it much MUCH darker and fucked up than what I usually write so I’ll just throw it out here because I don’t want it to go to waste and I’m also really interested in seeing what other people might make from it.

Genre: psychological thriller (ig? Whatever the genre for stories that are meant to make the reader really really uncomfortable is. On that note I’d put a TW here but the only way I can think to describe this is ig toxic relationship. But that barely does the prompt justice so proceed with caution.)

What would happen if two parallel universe versions of the same character for once didn’t have to close the portal that brought them together before it rips apart the essence of the universe and just got to interact? What if one isn’t the dark mirror of the other and they’re just completely identical up until the moment they first met? They are themselves and the other at the same time. They know exactly what the other thinks, down to the deepest most shameful thoughts; because they are the same person. They share the exact same memories, down to the most embarrassing, most awful things they’ve done, the secrets of which they swore to take to their graves; because they are the same person. What if they’re touch starved, what if they’re lonely? How close would they get once they realise that they can completely and utterly trust the other because they want the exact same as them? How intimate? After all, the relationship with the other is nothing more than the relationship with themselves, right? The other‘s body is nothing more than their own. Right? Whatever they do, to themselves, to each other, it’s the same as if they were still all alone. No one will ever know. No one but the other, who is just themselves.

This idea originally came from seeing a bunch of AUs from all kind of different stuff where different versions of the same character just got to hang out. Most of them are meant to just be light hearted fun but when I though about it I noticed just how weird and uncomfortable it would be to suddenly be face to face with someone who literally knows your every thought. If they manage to get over the discomfort the relationship could start out as „finally someone who I can talk to about my problems“ and be quite therapeutic but it also has the potential to get incredibly fucked up and codependent because every idea they have could be followed by „Omg that’s disgusting, they would never do that. No wait, they’re ‚me‘. They had the same thought, they would do that!“. At that point the only thing stopping them is weather or not they’re willing to abandon the social rules and expectations we have even for intimate relationships. Even normal people irl can go quite far with those things so just how far can they go?

And just to be clear, yes this is meant to be fucked up and uncomfortable and yes it can get fucked up in a sexual way, that’s the point, but I will personally strangle anyone who sends me a selfcest fantasy based on this. Not everything containing sex is meant to or even should be erotic. I can’t stop you from writing that and it’s not my place to do so but please don’t send it to me.

man while i'm on my felix kick it fucking sucks that they keep not knowing what the FUCK to do with this character when he's actually very strongly characterized. i went off about this last night but like, underutilized aspect of felix: he's like, a really good leader?? and i'm not talking an uber-inspiring protagonist-type leader like the PC; i'm talking an extremely functional organizer of people that you especially need in a military context. it's kind of hard to clock at first if you're not paying attention, especially because you're introduced to him while he's desperately trying to stave off a mutiny; but considering he's on a shithole iceball with a group of restless 18-to-25-year-old recruits who, as far as they're concerned, are trying to kill an immortal enemy, the fact that only one of them winds up ultimately raising a hand against him is impressive. he boosts morale, he makes good tactical calls on his own while not being too proud to take assistance, he metes out swift discipline without being needlessly punitive. and when the squad splits up, people keep in touch with him!!!

like, felix is extremely good at his job, and that aspect of him kind of deepens the tragedy of his permanent stagnation in rank when you compare him to other soldier comps like Rusk or even early-game Jorgan. i'm not a fan of fictional or real militaries but this character's skillset as an officer has been a repeatedly underutilized resource narratively & it makes me want to eat glass

I've had the idea for a psychological horror novel, so my plans for the day are to brainstorm and see whether the idea I have will make a good plot or not!

This is my first “big” project. I don't know how far this will go in practice, but I am certain that, if nothing else, deep down there's always a reason why I started.

Whenever I feel lost in the process of writing, I tend to ask myself: “What do you, as a writer, want to get from this book?“. And the answer in the current moment is experience, growth, and relief.

The next question is: ”What do you want it to be like?“. Right now I am trying to achieve something equal parts enlightening, tragic, comical, and violent, in a way that each will have a reason to be there.

At last, I need to know what I want to give to the reader. If both previous questions are answered and the only thing I lack is motivation, I tend to return to the day that I decided that out of all things I ought to write this out of my heart and my head. It helps to bring back what inspired the whole story: the sense of injustice. Resentment towards one world you never asked to be brought to, and towards the one you wanted to escape to but found no comfort in. A topic very close to me, as you understand.

Except I am not settling with all this anger inside. I want to use this experience to learn to look at one problem from different angles to find the best solution, to understand people better through building characters, and, ideally, to dig deeper into my own brain to discover something new about myself as well, and either accept it and find relief or change it for the better and grow, to work towards being able to say that I love my life. And if the reader doesn't see it the same way and can't use this story for the same purposes, then what I wish to do is tell them: “You are not alone. You deserve justice in the way you need it”.

…Or to give them something fun to read, I would be just as glad to know that someone enjoyed reading what I offer, but that's all.

Of course, I can't deny that beginning is the scariest part of the process. But I've been living with fear long enough to know better than to back down last minute.
