I'm making this mental note to myself, because it's happened repeatedly while I'm writing this fic:

Your least favorite plot arc will always be whatever plot arc you're currently working on. One you start working on the next arc, the previous one will instantly be terrific in comparison. So just keep moving and it'll be fine.

I try. I used to be very good at responding but my backlog has gotten extreme (1491 unanswered comments as of right now, if you're curious) so at this point I pretty much only answer if it's a chapter in an ongoing multichap, or someone asks a question.

What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I have a caradin fic that's straight up a break-up fic with no resolution, but I still feel like my angstiest is probably Black Moon (napollya), because they're in love but the situation is so fucking bleak. Sorry guys.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Any of them that end with a proposal lol? I've got a lot of fluffy fics and all of my long fics end with pure fluff, so I don't think I could pick out one.

Do you get hate on fics?

I have been lucky not to really get any, at least lately. I've gotten... less than polite comments, of course, but no outright hate (knock on wood).

Do you write smut?

Yes, although I would not say it's an integral part of my writing tbh.

Craziest crossover:

Craziest might be Maybe, This Time, which is a Mandalorian/BSG crossover that involves dimension-hopping lol.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I've had a few of my TMFU works translated and now there's someone in the RWRB fandom that translates most (!!) of my fics into Mandarin, which is mind blowing and flattering and I'm so grateful because I've gotten comments from people who have read them translated and loved them.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Not yet!

All time favorite ship?

I don't think I can pick one; some of my past ships are just that—past—but there are a few I will carry in my heart forever.

What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

If I want to finish it, I will, even if it takes a long time. I might stop wanting to finish a wip, but that's not the question is it?

What are your writing strengths?

Banter/dialogue, action, pacing, plots. People have told me that they can picture my scenes like a movie because of the description and that makes me feel good.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Although I have my moments, I don't really tend to think of my writing as beautiful. I'm just not that poetic/lyrical.

Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

Sure! If it's in my own fic I usually have a native speaker look over it (I haven't done this lately but I have gotten Russian consults for TMFU fics).

First fandom you wrote in?

Xena: Warrior Princess, back when that show was airing. Fanfic primarily distributed over internet mailing lists and posted on your own website.

Favorite fic you've written?

Stealing Nina's idea and doing one in each of my main fandoms I've written in because it's hard to pick (even then this was rough).

status update (?)

it's 2024, my real life is a bit of a mess (pending job change & cross country move), and i need a plan. i keep getting this urge to streamline, instead of bouncing around between fics like a goldfish with no attention span, so i'm going to lean into that and hope to god we get some results.

this is in terms of actively writing and posting. guaranteed i will still be daydreaming and plotting for all fics, but i still want to share some expectations with you all so we are on the same page and so i can hold my self accountable to my own imaginary deadlines.

at this point in time, i am going to post and complete SPRING FEVER first. it is the easiest and quickest to finish (pun intended) by far. and the only reason i haven't done it, is because i'm convinced the majority of you want other updates first. but i need to get it out of my head and off my plate.

after spring fever is completed... give me a few weeks? then THE PATH FROM YOU takes the drivers' seat. we are so close to the climax and conclusion, that it *should* go pretty quick and fast-paced from here. I don't have a timeline for completion but my goal is to post one chapter a month once we get to that point.

here is where i'm going to disappoint some of you. ALREADY GONE is going on hiatus. at least until the path from you is finished. this fic started as a side project, a distraction (read: shitpost), and now I have to rethink some things and potentially even dedicate myself to some mild rewrites. there is just a lot I want to do with it now, that i didn't in the beginning, and i want to be able to dedicate my full headspace to it. because the emotions and conclusion could be so good, but only if i give it time.

for hannah 2.0 and val: MEMORIES FEEL LIKE WEAPONS will get it's day in the sun. i've been taking notes on it for over a year, and i definitely need to work through it and finish it before i even attempt a tpfy sequel. there is so much i want to showcase in this fic outside of ginny's journey, but like with already gone, i need the time and headspace to do it. i will also, almost definitely, rewrite and repost chapter 2 at some point. i have more groundwork i need to lay with a certain slytherin. but that's a discussion for another day.

if this is in anyway a let down for you, i'm sorry. but this is the only way i can stay sane during a total life upheaval. thanks for sticking around if you've read this far and still like me. as always, i will post an changes or updates as soon as i figure them out.

COMMUNITY QUESTIONS!

This may be a bit of an embarrassing post, but if any of you wouldn’t mind reading and answering a few questions I would be extremely appreciative!

I have had Tumblr for a very long time, but I have never used it for posting. However I have been a writer, and have often used this app for reading purposes! (mostly fanfics and such). I would like to start writing here, but i’m still unsure on what is important to add/have as a writer on this platform. I am a JJK fan, so I aim to write fanfics, one shots, smut, fluff, practically all genre’s (all probably being anime related). Below I will add a segment on what I do know vs. what I do not (or am confused about) and I would love if any of you wouldn’t mind answering or having some advice to give.

WHAT I KNOW:

I am aware that Tumblr is a so-called home to some very good and experienced writers, as well as mostly used for it’s aesthetic purposes and its vast options. I have noticed that the majority of writers specify the genre at the beginning of their posts, as well as the word count and warnings (if there are any). I am also aware that, like most posts, specific hashtags pertaining to your topic are used. I see that most writers also copyright at the bottom of their works, and that some even have masterlists or links that can direct you to other segments of their work. I have also noticed that some authors have a tagged post for their own information.

WHAT I DO NOT KNOW:

As stated above I noted that this platform is notorious for its aesthetics, and as for that I have to ask: does everyone pick their own style or color scheme and go with it for every post, and everything? If so is it okay to change it up? Another thing I must ask is about the warnings. I have seen CW (content warning I assume) a lot, and was wondering if it is used for all content, or just NSFW content. If so, what and all do you have to specify? What should mostly be specified in your warnings in general? I also don’t know if word count is necessary, as well as don’t know how to get it, but that is something I probably won’t have a problem figuring out on my own. I know that for just starting out I don’t have the need for a master list or anything of the sort, but would it be a good thing/or is it necessary to have some sort of introduction post? If so, what information is the most necessary to have? (I assume name, age, and pronouns being most important). Even then though, I am unsure on how to link things if I were to get a master list in the near future (I know, It’s kinda embarrassing and I apologize..)

There are probably more that I cannot think on top of my head at this moment, but if you have read this far I appreciate you very much. I know this is probably an embarrassing and annoying post, but we all start somewhere so I assumed it wouldn’t hurt to ask. I also did not know which tags to add to this post, hence why I chose JJK ones. I hope you all can forgive me and thank you all for your time <3 Once again I do not expect any feedback but any and all would be utterly appreciated.

Hello! I'm KAKi, I go by he/him and I write original fiction (I suppose if I were to find a fandom I liked I would write fanfiction too)

About my writing:

I like writing character-based stories, so my main genre is romance, but I love learning and branching out. I like having a "gimmick" in my work, so I often write fantasy because magic gives more variety.

I like writing short stories and novellas that usually turn into series. I want my work to be easy to jump into and satisfying to put down once you are done reading. This is probably a bad marketing tactic, but I don't mind being unmarketable.

I generally strive to write stuff I would myself want to read. This means grounded, soft and cosy stuff where most conflict comes from the world and not from the relationships. I don't really care for melodrama. I had a traumatic childhood, so I like seeing the characters I like happy and thriving. I also try to keep my casts of characters diverse and nuanced, feeling more like real people than characters. Is this an impossible task? Maybe, but I like having a goal to work toward.

You can find my Wattpad and my first book here. I have so far published a fantasy romance novella, a collection of fantasy short stories and some standalone horror short stories.

I would like to be a director of my own show one day

Why am I here?

I started this blog in hopes of finding new friends, finding mentors and peers who like reading/writing and getting feedback on my writing and how to improve the way I write characters from different groups and backgrounds.

I would like to encourage constructive feedback on this page as much as possible. As an autistic person, I find the lack of feedback in my normal life frustrating.

Suggest me things, ask me things, infodump to me about the shit you like, introduce me to your fav Thing and get me to make it my whole personality for a week!

When it comes to beta and alpha reading, I'm of course always looking for new ones as my projects move forward, and I will also do it for you in bite-sized chunks.

I doubt anyone but me has noticed this, but I have this gap in fic length on ao3. I have four fics that are over 100k (one way over), and zero fics between 46k and 100k. Then there is a good chunk of fics (a half-dozen or so) between 45k and 30k, a length I consistently seem to be able hit with not too much extra motivation or hand-wringing required.

Anyway, this has bugged me for years. Why this strange gap? Where is my ability to write a 60 or 70k fic without it spiraling above 100k?

So I am happy to report that this weekend, I hit 50k on my dihua fic and only have a few scenes left to write. I think it will actually stop at 60 or 70k. I'm so very unreasonably, disproportionately excited about this.

omg, Nico being all haughty and mighty bratty and Percy having to take it and preserve their cover, hilarious! Knowing Percy and his aversion to authority, it must have itched him to sass Nico, or did he secretly enjoy it? *gasp* your brain works wonders. Also I gotta ask but was the "Quite the surprise you didn’t just left me to starve" line a jab at Percy for letting him starve in the jar or am I reading too much into. I'm really curious to know what went through each one's head when playing "master and servant" 😂 please enlighten me.

Okay, so I guess I should give some context, then.

The fic from Percy and Nico's POV is thus: Nico is informed of disappearances that seem related to a monster, and decides to investigate alone. Percy doesn't like it, especially after a few weeks pass and Nico hasn't come back. So, he decides to go in as a waiter to be Nico's backup.

The problem is, he never told Nico, so when he first sees Percy, his reaction is to berate him for showing up and not trusting him, all while keeping in character (because anyone is a suspect of being the monster). After that, because in his anger he kinda made a scene, so he has to keep up the act, be bratty towards Percy in public to not raise suspicion.

As for Percy? He doesn't quite enjoy it, but he finds it a bit exciting to be role playing this dynamic, so to speak, especially when he gets to ravage the "bratty socialite". Because, as Percy's discovering, being with Nico is awakening a lot of fetishes he never knew he had.

One more for Sally Jackson being Steve's mom- The upside down stuff still happens. Both Steve and Percy are at the dinner table trying to be normal about the horrors they've seen.

You say that like Steve wouldn't accidently end up sharing his stories with Sally during a summer he and Percy are home because they're comparing horrors and she overhears hfjdks.

Also Percy being like "I could help tho? Like, let me help?" and Steve is like "no, no, i can't subject you to the children, you'll never survive"
