Tim or someone walking into Jon's office. F!Jon is gnawing on a tape in a last ditch unsuccessful effort to find out what the fangs are for. They make eye contact. No words are exchanged. Tim has completely forgotten what he even needed to ask about, but he's sure it couldn't have been that important. He slowly backs out of the room and closes the door.

Past!Jon went to the bathroom so Future!Jon took advantage of this and tried to eat a tape

i haven’t finished death note yet but i NEED to talk about mikami

As soon as L dies, Near and Mello show up. They—Near specifically—are supposed to be the new L, that’s their whole thing. But the writers know that there’s no replacing L, there’s no replacing such a brilliant character like him. So yeah, obviously you’re gonna be rooting for Light, you feel betrayed that these two guys show up and want to take L's place. It feels better to cheer for the guy that killed him than to the ones pretending they are his new version.

You’re lacking another compelling character to be Light's duo. You could argue Near and Mello are interesting (which they’re, just not on the L level in my opinion), but they’re each other’s own narrative foils. Of course, we have Aizawa, but despite being really well-written, he’s no match for Light. He’s a good person, he’s humble, he’s smart, but he’s not a genius—which is something he recognizes, the reason why he seeks Near.

But THEN, then comes Mikami.

What do you do when Light's second half dies? You give him another one. It’s so smart to make Mikami be a worshiper, an ally, instead of an enemy. You know the viewers miss L, so don’t try to do L 0.2, do the exact opposite of him. Yes, keep the obsession factor, but make all his values differ. That’s how you get Light's new boyfriend Mikami.

Now that authors for this year’s Ladystuck are officially revealed, I can finally post this here! My recipient, cancerously, (who may be the same as cancerously, we’re not sure?) wanted Disciple <> Redglare and boy howdy was I more than willing to deliver.

I pushed myself a lot with this project — I’ve never painted digitally like this before. It was worth it for the visual metaphor of the art style changing corresponding with Redglare’s maturation and with knowing the Disciple giving her life depth and color.

I hope you all enjoy! PLEASE DO NOT REPOST THIS, OR REMOVE THE AUTHOR COMMENTS.It’s incredibly rude and I will be very displeased.
