Um pouco sobre Anoriel:

Anoriel filha de Círnin-Galad e neta de Maglor parece ter herdado a cor de cabelos de seus antepassados da linhagem de Mahtan, mas diferente de Nerdanel (que tinha cabelos castanhos com toque de cobre), ela tinha cabelos mais vermelhos que os dela, de Maedhros e os Gêmeos, talvez pela mistura do escuro de seu pai herdado de Maglor e Feänor e do dourado de sua mãe de Origen Sindar e Noldor (e um leve toque de sangue Vanyar herdado de sua avó paterna que tinha cabelos da cor do Ouro), junto ao cobre de Mahtan, essa mistura parece ter tingido ainda mais os cabelos da elfa em um vermelho escuro que ao sol, brilhava como fogo vivo, e à sombra, como sangue fresco. Isso inspirou seu nome materno, “Ancalimë” algo como “A mais brilhante” e o nome paterno “Anoriel” ou algo como “Filha do Sol”, também algumas vezes chamada Naurath (pode ser traduzido como “que queima ou ardente, como fogo” talvez devido sua personalidade explosiva, curiosa e hiperativa quando jovem além da aparência) Anoriel, Rusco (raposa, como seu tataravô Mahtan) ou GalMaedhro (brilho de Maedhros devido sua semelhança e personalidade após a adolescência elfica).

P.s. Apesar de gostar muito, Não sou conhecedora e linguista das línguas élficas de Tolkien. Tenho alguma noção gramática, mas acho bem difícil, é algo que vejo que confunde mesmo o pessoal que estuda muito, ainda mais se tratando em mais de uma linguagem. Espero que eu tenha chegado o mais próximo da realidade possível nos nomes, inspirações com certeza. A maioria usei de origem Sindar, mas haverá outros como o Quenya.

          Mardil Voronwë was the son of Vorondil, and became the first Ruling Steward of Gondor. He served as the third and last Steward to Eärnil II and after him his son Eärnur. Upon Eärnur’s inheritance, the Witch-king of Minas Morgul, whom Eärnur had faced in the North, challenged him again to single combat. Eärnur, rash and humiliated by his failure in their first encounter, was eager to answer, but all his counselors clearly saw that it was a trap.           It took the combined persuasion of Eärnur’s mother, lover, and his Steward to convince him not to go at that time, but after his lover was slain in a skirmish, not even the wisdom of Mardil could prevent him from answering the Witch-king’s third challenge. Eärnur left his crown upon the lap of his father in the Houses of the Dead, where it would remain until Steward Faramir would pass it to King Elessar nearly a thousand years later. Eärnur rode past the gates of Minas Morgul with a small escort of loyal knights, never to be seen again.           As his fate was for a time uncertain and Eärnur had named no heir, nor were there any obvious lords of royal descent to step forth and make their claim, no new King was selected. Thus, with a heavy heart, Mardil took up the leadership of Gondor, first of the Ruling Stewards. Eradan was a solitary man who preferred quietude and the company of books. His wife, Gilwen, was of a similar mind, and together they agreed to leave one another alone as soon as their only son Herion came of age.           Unlike his father, Herion was a lively and boisterous man eager to enter the social circles of Gondor. It’s a big, confusing, but very loving family!

Magildur and Thranduil are Oropher’s sons but Anoriel and Meludir were raised to call them Uncle cause they felt it more appropriate than siblings. Legolas and Matamelcan (Also known as Mel among the fam, hence why Meludir calls himself Mel II) treat them like cousins and all in all, they’re fine with being mildly confusing to humans.

Decided to draw my Tolkien OC, Anoriel Fereniel again but this time with what I hope is her final design.

I decided to rework my designs of characters from LotR, The Hobbit, Silmarillion, etc to have the aesthetics of RoP mixed with LotR the Musical. This ofc means face paint/markings for the elves so here’s Anoriel with the Woodland Realm’s markings.

I decided to give her a spear as her weapon since she prefers distance while fighting in comparison to her brother and father. Also I hc Woodland Realm elves go barefoot, namely the scouts cause they have to maneouvre their way through the forests and trees.

Anoriel will have more outfits obvs but this is the scout’s uniforms for the Woodland Realm.

 I missed drawing Finoriel (one of my bajillion Tolkien Canon/OC ships lmao) and since I like switching between art for others and art for me as a routine and I asked my bby sister to choose between C(anon) or H(appy) E(nd). She chose HE and so we got this fluffy piece where Fili's courtship proposal is accepted by Anoriel while they're wandering through the markets of Dale together.

Anoriel Fereniel, stepdaughter of Elvenking Former Oropher as painted by her brother, Melmerondir Ferenion

I’m on a bit of a portrait making high and the first one I did was my bby Anoriel Fereniel for The Hobbit. Melmerondir answers to the name Feren gave him later on in his life where he showed a skill and passion for painting so it translates to Beloved Artist while Anoriel is literally Sun-Daughter. Melmerondir (as suggested by my bestie) developed a habit where if he comes across his family members doing something he decides he wanted to paint he’d have them stay still and pose for him. Anoriel just so happened to be the lucky victim for this one duxfgvxdiu

"Why do you weep, Muinthel?" asked Melmerondir, his eyes trained on the sons of Durin on their tombs before they were returned to the mountain. Anoriel was silent for a moment as she took time to gather herself, wiping at her red-rimmed eyes and clearing her throat as quietly as she could manage. "I...do not know." She admitted. "His loss feels like it had torn a deep chasm within my soul."

So today is the day BotFA happened in The Hobbit and I figured that I might as well draw some finoriel art. Tragic Finoriel art uwu

When their squad arrested the Company of Thorin Oakenshield, she was among the elves checking on the dwarves for any injuries with their captain.

During the dwarves' time in the dungeon (after they had acted with hostility to Thranduil and ruined the guest rooms he had sent them to), Anoriel was also one of the elves giving them food, sometimes sneaking in past curfew to make sure they were being fed enough. (They were, Anoriel just worried a lot)

For two weeks, she and Fili would speak with one another and try to see things from each other's perspectives, eventually even sharing personal details about their lives. She promises Fili that she will write him a poem and he promises her that he will craft her hair ornaments to pin her hair back from her face after seeing her constantly trying to keep her hair from falling over her face.

Anoriel and Melmerondir are among those sent to join in the Battle of the Five Armies.

Anoriel was one of the volunteers who had gone out into the battlefield to do retrieval operations. A part of her was hoping some of the bodies she recovered would be alive and since Fili was reported as missing, she kept a part of herself hoping still that he wasn't dead. Then she found him and though she feels a deep grief, she is unable to understand the depth of why she felt such a thing.

She carried Fili's body (with difficulty due to her weaker constitution and body for being a half-elf) all the way to Erebor, ignoring the biting cold of the rapidly falling snow and getting up each time she stumbled.

Anoriel attends the funeral of Thorin, Fili and Kili and slips a page with an unfinished poem into Fili's hand before leaving Erebor with her father and brother.

She never figures out the feelings she developed for Fili and experiences a more fragmented form of Fading that weakens her each year as a result of both the grief of losing one she formed a bond with and trauma from the Battle of the Five Armies. She dies of old age and a weakened body, and her brother and father sailed West shortly after.

Muita Tolkiemania, mas com adaptações, afinal essa é uma fanfiction e a gente faz isso pra sonhar oras... mas tentarei ser o mais fiel possível ao tio Tolkien. Tenha em mente muito Silmarillion na veia também e elementos dos filmes do tio Peter Jackson. Inclusive, o Elveking eu me inspiro na versão do Lee Pace. STEWARDS OF GONDOR

Are you ready for a bajillion names reused from the First Age?! The Stewards loooved to name their kids after First Age heroes - and I decided that the ladies shouldn’t get left out of that tradition either, so I scoured the family trees of the Three Houses of the Edain for some names to give their wives and daughters :)

Astorion ft. Astorion (OC), Húrin of Emyn Arnen, Idril of Emyn Arnen (OC) Though Astorion himself is an OC, everything about the appointment of the first Steward is canon or strongly implied by canon. The rules surrounding who could be Steward are also canon, though the exact circumstances of how they came about are my headcanon. Húrin of Emyn Arnen was indeed Minardil’s steward, and the stewards were chosen from his House after this, but the details about his role in these two succession crises are all headcanon. The House of Húrin was related to Anárion, though this relation being through one of his daughters is speculation on my part. See the linked Kings for details about the canonicity of their stories.

Pelendur ft. Pelendur, Meleth of Gondor (OC), Vorondil, Anwariel (OC), Mardil Voronwë The details of Pelendur’s friendship with Eärnil, and Eärnil’s ambitions toward royalty, are my headcanon; check out Eärnil’s edit for more on that. The conflict between Eärnil and Arvedui is canon, as is Pelendur’s influence in choosing which would become King. Vorondil’s hunting of the Kine of Araw and making of the Horn of Gondor is canon, though I made up the bit about it being part of a matched pair.

Mardil Voronwë ft. Mardil Voronwë, Anoriel (OC), Eradan, Gilwen of Gondor (OC), Herion, Cadwareth (OC), Belegorn, Lossendil (OC) Mardil’s ascension to power is canon, but the details of Eärnur’s demise, while canon, have been embellished (see his edit for more info on that). Mardil’s work on the calendar is canon, but his wife’s influence on its creation is headcanon. Everything about Eradan, Herion, and Belegorn is headcanon.

Húrin I ft. Húrin I, Beril of Gondor (OC), Niënor of Gondor (OC), Urwen of Gondor (OC), Túrin I All of this is headcanon; we have practically no information about Húrin I save that he had two daughters before Túrin I.

Túrin I ft. Túrin I, Andreth of Gondor (OC), Lalaith of Gondor (OC), Nellas of Gondor (OC), Níniel of Gondor (OC), Meldis of Gondor (OC), Hador of Gondor All we know about Túrin I is that he had “several daughters” with his first wife, and was the first (and only) leader of Gondor to take a second wife, with whom he had a son. Since Hador was born a year after Túrin became Steward, I think it’s reasonable to assume he had to wait ’til he was in charge to change the law to allow him to remarry, but that’s not canon. All other details are headcanon. Sorry for making him a massive dick. Túrin Turambar deserves better than being remembered like this; I’ll try to make up for it when I get to Túrin II.

Hador ft. Hador of Gondor, Maerion (OC), Barahir of Gondor, Taweneth (OC), Dior of Gondor, Rían of Gondor, Bellmund (OC), Denethor I Hador did canonically add a leap day to the calendar, and he was also the last Steward to have the “lifespan of a full Dúnadan.” Dior canonically had no children and was succeeded by his nephew. I made up literally everything else here. I’m baffled by the decision of Rían to name her son after an Avarin king when all the other names in her family that were taken from the First Age are from the Edain and the occasional Noldor or Sindar royal; there’s no reason why she would have picked that name, so I tried to give her one here.

Denethor I ft. Denethor I, Felucaliel (OC), Lalwen of Gondor (OC), Emeldir of Gondor (OC), Steward Boromir Denethor canonically had two daughters before Boromir; I changed one to be nonbinary. It was also during his rule that the Watchful Peace ended. Everything else is headcanon.

Steward Boromir ft. Steward Boromir, Amathael (OC), Círion, Hirwen of Gondor (OC), Hallas, Thalieth (OC), Húrin II, Beldis of Gondor (OC) Boromir did canonically do all that fighting, though we know nothing about his wife and sibling fighting with him; his decline after receiving a Morgul wound is also canon. Almost all of Círion’s story is canon. Hallas did indeed come up with the names “Rohan” and “Rohirrim.” Everything else is headcanon.

Belecthor I ft. Belecthor I, Glóredhel of Gondor (OC), Orodreth of Gondor, Morwen of Gondor It’s canon that the Corsairs reared their heads again in this time, but we don’t know of any major battles so I decided a stalemate made sense here. Everything else is headcanon.

Orodreth ft. Orodreth of Gondor, Beleth of Gondor (OC), Ecthelion I The only canon thing here is that Ecthelion did rebuild the White Tower. Also, you know I’m gonna make all the childless Stewards gay and/or aspec :p

Morwen ft. Morwen of Gondor, Dammoron (OC), Adanel of Gondor (OC), Faeleth (OC), Egalmoth of Gondor All of this is headcanon, except that Morwen was canonically the grandmother of Egalmoth.

Egalmoth ft. Eglamoth of Gondor, Hareth of Gondor (OC), Beren of Gondor, Gildis of Gondor (OC), Steward Beregond, Bregil of Gondor (OC), Belecthor II, Thúliel (OC), Thorondir, Helheth (OC), Túrin II, Eregil (OC), Turgon of Gondor, Mírdholen (OC) As usual, everything with the women in this edit is headcanon. The wars with the Dunlendings, Corsairs, orcs, etc. are all canon, as is Saruman’s appearance in the narrative. The recovery period after the war has been greatly embellished; everything about Belecthor II and Thorondir is headcanon except for their lifespans and the death of the White Tree (and Belecthor being an only child, weirdly enough that’s specifically noted in canon lol), though I made up the reasoning behind Thorondir’s declaration. Túrin I’s deeds are all canon, though with the exception of the Rohirrim the supporting cast’s involvement is mostly my headcanon. Nothing significant happened during Turgon’s rule except for Sauron’s declaration; his reaction to that event is headcanon.

Ecthelion II ft. Ecthelion II, Narwiel (OC), Denethor II, Taeneth (OC), Beniloth (OC) Everything about Ecthelion and Thorongil/Aragorn is canon (and leaves me wondering if they fucked...) Ecthelion canonically had two unnamed daughters. Taeneth and Beniloth are Sindarin names I adapted from the Quenya “Terenis” and “Vanyalos” given to them in LOTRO; I also poached their backstories from LOTRO. (Disclaimer that I haven’t played the game, I’m getting this all from Tolkien Gateway.)

Denethor II ft. Denethor II, Finduilas of Dol Amroth, Boromir, Faramir This is pretty much all canon, though details have been embellished here and there.

Faramir ft. Faramir, Éowyn, Elboron, Rohiril (OC), Silevegil (OC), Barahir of Ithlien All of this is canon, though it’s been slightly condensed, up until the details about Faramir and Éowyn’s descendants. It is canon that Barahir wrote the Tale of Aragorn and Arwen, but we don’t know if he was the son of Elboron or of some unknown sibling of Elboron. I ship Elboron and Eldarion, so I chose to go with the latter possibility :)

“I’ve no clue who told you those lies about my people but rest assured, we do not care only for gems and riches.” The fair haired dwarf had spoken with a sternness that Anoriel did not expect from a prisoner.

Anoriel nodded to the prisoner and waited for him to continue. She could hear the hesitance in his voice but she figured if he was to tell her then she shall not stop him.

“We treasure family, friends, those who had shown us that we can afford to trust others.” She had never heard these before and she found herself turning around, crouching to see the fair haired prisoner better.

“I…I was never told of these before.” She admitted softly, she saw him scoff.

“I would be surprised if someone did tell you.” He had told her. She can’t help but agree with him, their people despised one another for as long as she can remember and she was uncertain if a fair description of the Dwarf’s people would have been given to her had she asked.

“You had previously called me a henchman of Sauron.” She spoke slowly all of a sudden, her heart thudding against her chest frantically. She saw regret flash upon the Dwarf’s face, she waved away the apology forming on his lips.

“It matters not,” she had assured him, the fair haired dwarf nodded but she noticed his discomfort at her pardon, “I had been called such by others whenever they find out about my lineage.”

She had always been accused of being a servant of Mordor, though it only happened when she left Eryn Lasgalen.

“My mother was an Easterling, yes.” She answered the unasked question, her head bowed, “But there are some good in my mother’s people, they are not all cruel.” She should know. Her grandfather had taken her to see some of her mother’s kin and they had proven to be kind.

She heard the Dwarf chuckle, “What a pair we are.” He commented amusedly. Anoriel looked at him in confusion.

“It seems I am wrong to judge your people, Master Dwarf.” The Dwarf just shrugged and smiled wryly.

“The same can be said for you, Lady Earth-daughter.”

Fíli and my OC, Anoriel’s first civil conversation where their racial prejudices don’t cloud their judgements. And even though they’re not smiling here in the photo, at least they’re finally learning more about the other.

The bold part of the ficlet is in Khuzdul since neither of them were willing to give their name to the other.
