funny how fear didn't really have much of a grip on him until he realized just how important you were to him. if this is how love feels, he does not like it and thinks it's overrated.
but then you smile at him and he decides that actually, he's alright with being in love, as long as it's with you.
it will take possibly a life-or-death situation to get him to confess. something bad's happened. maybe it's batman, maybe a trap or something just went wrong, and now you're in danger.
he almost completely shuts down trying to get to you. he's so afraid, but he just white-knuckles it until you're safe again.
"i don't want to lose you," he whispers. "i love you."
it's a quiet, gentle, sweet affair. he'd come very close to losing you just now, and if he thought telling you while you were alive and well was terrifying, the idea of never getting to tell you at all is even worse.
"i won't let this happen again. i will keep you safe."

Tango Design (Hermitcraft & Last Life)
Ayo, I just realized I never posted my Tango Design-
He's a ravager Hybrid in my headcanons, but I've been told Tango doesn't like being drawn with horns all that much, so I had to get creative. I ended up going with skin patches and the chains that you can see in the details of the ravager's design. Chain tail, babeyyyy
Also, I had a think about Tango's minecart death in Last Life. Him just running up to a TNT minecart and punching it would be weird to depict in a drawing, so instead I imagined something much more badass; he was trying to stop the minecart with his bare hands :>

Here's one for Bane if you're interested.
Okay so I headcanon that because he grew up in prison, Bane's mother was the only woman that he got to interact with before he broke out and went to Gotham (and even still it was only for like 7-8 years of his life) and he saw her as a strong person. To me that means that Bane has respect for women and doesn't see or treat girls as weak. What are some instances that you can think of, of Bane showing respect to a woman (either one of the rogues or just a random woman)
FEMINIST BANE BABEYYYY.
Bane loathes domestic abusers or those who'd harm a woman randomly.
He won't touch civilian women. Supervillains are different tho. If it was someone like Poison Ivy and she was purposefully fighting him then he'd have no problem trying to kill her.
Bane is probably more progressive in choosing a female business partner. After being imprisoned in hell he understands everyone is equal when you have nothing. It's about what skills you have that make you worthwhile.
I can also see him wanting a woman as a business partner as she could be perceived as being more trustworthy to the men around her (Like that one BTAS episode with Bane and Candice)
Bane misses his mom a lot. He never found out what happened to her body once she died so I headcanon he bought a grave plot so he could go honour her. He brings her flowers and a small teddy bear on the anniversary of the day she died.

Bloodswap...thinking about...purple mallek. He's rebellious in his own way I think similarly to marvus he's mb not super devout or anything and just kinda wants to live his own life (not that the church isn't important to him). Def a little 'lowblood rights' here and some 'fuck the system' there but mb low-key about it (at least to other clowns)

I like that interpretation of purple Mallek a lot! I think the biggest part about this bloodswap that I would want to explore is like. Okay so I wrote here and (somewhere else... if i find it i'll link it) about how Mallek is kind of just an inherently lonely character? I wonder how that would translate into a caste that is so extremely tight knit, exclusive, and "family" oriented? Would he feel like he's on the outside, looking in? Or would he feel a false sense of security and let slip some of his more controversial thoughts.
I'm inclined to believe it would be the former; like I said, he's inherently a lonely (AND suspicious) person, caste aside (although a thought for another time is how lonely the midblood castes are; i sort of posted something similar not too long ago but never elaborated). He has a kind heart and that heart, under the pressure of alternia, has kind of hardened into someone who won't- but sooo desperately wants to- ask for help. He takes on all of this pressure, on his own terms, just because he believes it's right.
So translating that into purple, yeah I think he would feel a little disconnected from the one thing that binds them all as clowns: the messiahs. But he would still have his ear out for the morality of it all, and use that for his own agenda. And he would still be listening to the talk: how does a revolution start, and what can he do to help? Pitch / pale purple mallek and marvus indulgence. Or... even better: pitch / pale purple mallek and cerulean marvus.... I'm a one trick pony babeyyyy but he’s my trick babeyy lmao.
Uh anyway. All of that to say basically that I agree with you lol. Purple mallek good.

“Commander?” Rex’s professionally-surprised voice jolts Ahsoka out of her daze. She blinks the sleep out of her eyes as he sits across from her on the prickly grass. “You’re still awake.”
“Just keeping watch,” she replies casually enough, or so she hopes.
His face, free of its helmet, is carefully blank. “Echo’s on this shift.”
Ahsoka scratches her arm, looking everywhere but at him. “I know. But, you know, can’t hurt to have another . . . set of eyes.” Her head dips down. “You never know,” she adds quietly.
Rex’s eyebrows twitch before he nods solemnly. Then he suddenly stands, dual pistols slipped from their holsters and into his hands, feet planted firmly in attention. Ahsoka jumps, adrenaline zipping through her chest. Her lightsaber is out in the next hurried breath.
“What is it?”
But nothing moves or explodes or comes running at them, and Rex just looks at her calmly. She extinguishes her saber.
“What are you doing?” she asks, more confused than wary now.
Rex turns back. “Taking watch.”
Ahsoka’s browmarks furrow. “I’m on watch.”
“Technically, Commander, Echo’s on watch. But I’ll fill in for the extra shift you’ve made,” Rex says, his voice too matter-of-fact for Ahsoka to tell whether or not he’s joking. She hasn’t known him long, can’t quite pick up on what his sarcasm sounds like yet—or if he’s even the sarcastic type.
She clips her lightsaber back onto her belt. “It’s not—you don’t have to do that.”
“It’s no problem, sir.”
“Rex, really, I got it,” she says, slightly annoyed that he’s not taking her seriously. Did Anakin put him up to this?
He glances at her, face still perfectly professional. “Is that an order, sir?”
Ahsoka jerks back. “N—No, I didn’t mean—”
Rex nods and turns back to face the edge of camp. Ahsoka thinks she sees a light smirk on his face. She scoffs in confusion and moves to stand in front of him. Ugh, why is he so tall?
“Okay, no, what—what are you doing?” She puts on her best “I’m a Commander, listen to me” voice and tries to pretend it doesn’t sound petulant.
He easily stares over her at the starry horizon. “I told you, sir, I’m taking watch.” Okay, no, he’s definitely smiling now.
Ahsoka puts her hands on her hips, shifts onto her toes, and glowers (glowers—not pouts. It’s definitely a glower). “I don’t get it.”
“You can go back to sleep, Commander.”
Oh, so that’s what this is about. Ahsoka glares at the ground. “I’m not tired.” She spins and stands next to him at attention, elbow-to-elbow, hip-to-hip; she pushes her right foot against his left. “And I’m perfectly fine to keep watch, thank you. If you insist on staying up that’s—we’ll do it together. I guess.”
Rex chuckles—actually chuckles—at her, and Ahsoka can’t decide if that should irritate her or not. Despite what she said, her limbs are heavy and her eyelids are sinking more and more every second. But she can’t sleep. It’s too—something could happen. Something else.
She doesn’t move from her spot. They stand there in silence for a while and Ahsoka tries to think about how weird Rex is being instead of how tired she is.
“Commander.”
Ahsoka’s eyes pop open. “I was just—blinking.”
Rex looks down at her. She sighs, falling out of attention. “I get it, kid.”
“It’s stupid.” Ahsoka wraps her arms around herself. “He just came out of nowhere and I didn’t—and Anakin wasn’t there—”
“Don’t mention it,” Rex says, one gloved hand coming to rest on her shoulder. “Just go to sleep. I’ll protect you.”
Ahsoka is stunned. She looks longingly at her bedroll, and decides she’s too tired to argue. As she lays down and forces herself to close her eyes, she tries not to think about Grievous sneaking up on her, or about the bolt of fear when she realized he’d taken her lightsaber, or of the droids as they surrounded her and the brink of death clawing its way towards her, or about how small and young and helpless she felt. She just thinks of Rex standing in front of her, unmoving, unwavering, unbeatable, and drifts off to sleep.

Here's a question for ya... excluding the Starks, other major houses etc., if you had to be a member of a Westerosi house, which would it be? Maybe this is ask is just an excuse to say that I've just now decided I'd be a member of House Royce of Runestone, coz:
– I love runes, natch – Runestone is a banging name for a castle
– Runestone is also on the coast, good for those bracing breezes, days out at sea, and some tasty seafood
– Also close to Gulltown, so a nice city retreat, access to merchants, the latest townie gossip etc.
– In the geography of Westeros, it's northern enough to satisfy my cold weather needs, whilst maybe also having some warmer days
– Proud descendants of the First Men, so likely there's a godswood with a weirwood tree at Runestone? They probably worship the seven, but is there some wiggle room there? 👀
– Stark loyalists babeyyyy, through marriage ties and also good taste – Open invitation to the Gates of the Moon through the cousins
– Speaking of cousins, related to Myranda so never short of banter
– Bronze Yohn Royce with his funky armour is a certified icon
– House Royce of Runestone is a second-tier, but still and powerful and respected house, which is a nice spot to be in, not too much responsibility/spotlight, just happy to to do their own thing, manage some ports, swear to bring down pedo pete, etc.
– Sexy genes, case in point Waymar Royce

It's another city-by-the-coast combination, so there's some local culture and city life, splendid scenery and that wealth-generating port to fill my pockets, but it also sees more land-based travel than Gulltown, and it has a romantic AND therapeutic tourist attraction. THE Florian and Jonqil pool. Our future is bright.

Summary: awkward Zuko and awkward Y/N at the Jasmine Dragon!
The bell jingled behind her as Y/N opened the door to the Jasmine Dragon. Surprisingly, it was empty. Every time she passed by, the tea shop always seemed to be bustling with customers, but maybe it was a slow day?
She looked around for any workers, but there weren’t any, so she decided to take a seat.
She sat down at a table near the window, exhaling as she looked out, watching the city. She glanced at the only other customer in the shop, who seemed to not have noticed she came in.
“Hello!” She waved, and he waved back with a small smile. “So... do you come here often?” she asked, trying to spark conversation. She didn’t know how to approach him, so she just said the first thing that came to mind. The male stared at her.
“I- I literally work here.” She looked at his apron, which clearly had the Jasmine Dragon logo on it. He blinked, and she blinked back. Wait-
“Oh... oh right, sorry.” She gave an apologetic smile and internally punched herself. You idiot. He laughed and got up to wash his hands.
“No worries. But yes, I do come here often.” He dried his hands and filled up the kettle, boiling water for the next order. “What can I get you?”
“Hmm... I’ve never actually been here before.” Staring at all of the different choices, she had no idea what do get. “What do you recommend?”
“Umm.” He looked over the menu and pointed at an option. “How about this? It’s my favorite.” She nodded and he got to work. She watched him, entranced by the way he poured water into the kettle, boiling the water with impossible grace, as if he had been making tea his entire life.
Y/N, what are you doing? He’s literally just making tea, she told herself, but she couldn’t help but stare at him as he poured the steaming hot water, a tea bag already in the cup. Her eyes wandered over the cute worker, gleaming at his messy hair and red scar. Was it possible for a scar to make someone look... even better?
He looked up at her, meeting her eyes. Shoot. She quickly looked away, but not before she saw the blush on his face. Clearing his throat, he went back to work.
After a while, he grabbed the cup and handed it to her.
“Here you go, have a great day.” He smiled and went away to wash his hands. She sipped the tea, which blessed her taste buds. The tea tasted sweet, but not strong, the aroma also pulling her in. She understood why it was the boy’s favorite as she went in for another sip.
“Do you like it?” He was suddenly behind her, so she turned around to face him.
“Yeah, it’s great! Thank you.” She smiled and drank her tea in an uncomfortable silence. The two stood awkwardly, unsure what to say.
“Uhm... if it isn’t a bother, can-” He cleared his throat. “Can I possibly get your number? I think you’re cute.” he asked shyly, face blushing. Oh?
“Oh- of course!” She handed him her phone, and he typed in his number. She quickly entered in her information, under the contact name “Y/N,” hoping he would be able to recognize her by the name. “Thanks for the tea!” she said, waving goodbye and pulling up her phone.
Zuko. His name was Zuko. She already had a text from him.

Slowly, Sirius blinks open his sleep deprived eyes and relishes in the warmth emanating from their hearth like a caressing hand. He squeezes the arm he’s got wrapped around Remus’s slender waste just that bit tighter, and dips down to kiss the consolation of freckles behind his left ear. Breathes in the familiar scent of citrus and cinnamon and cigarette smoke that clings to his silk like skin.
The cottage— their home— has finally lulled into a still sort of serenity, one painted with moonlight and whispers of laughter soaked days, and it makes his heart contract. It’s been a decade since the end of the war, and even longer than that when he had finally escaped Grimmauld Place to live with the Potters, but their are still remnants of disbelief. Disbelief that his most cherished of loved ones had escaped those dark days with only a few scratches and a plethora of awful memories. Disbelief that he and Remus’s bond had never severed, that they fell back into one another like a long favored cloak, like it was always meant to be. Disbelief that he’s truly here, wrapped around the man he has always loved more than breath itself, as they gaze adoringly down at the angelic form of their son. Their Teddy.
Andromeda had offered to be their surrogate six years ago now, the day that he and Remus had wed in front of their nearest and dearest and promised themselves to one another for the next eon to come. But it had taken years filled with frightful hesitancy on Remus’s end, and endless research by James, Lily and Sirius themselves to actually except the offer. It’s been nearly two years when they had finally met a Muggle werewolf named Delilah who had three perfectly healthy children who hadn’t inherited the mutation. Remarkably, it proved enough for Remus and all his endless layers of caution.
And now they’re here.
Remus’s sat in his lap while his raspy tenner is softly crooning an old, Welsh lullaby that Hope had sung to him throughout his childhood, and Sirius is kissing along his swan like neck while holding up the bottle that a ravenous Teddy is feeding on with gusto, and they’re sat in this sort of tranquility which Sirius never knew could exist. Merlin, his chest wants to burst with the love he feels for them, to crack right open and bleed out the golden, frothy emotion of adoration he holds for the two most important souls he has ever held, and it’s all too much but not nearly enough and Sirius thinks there is nothing he wouldn’t do just to keep them like this for all their days.
“He’s beautiful,” Remus says dotingly, brushing back a lock of Teddy’s downy hair— the same golden brown as Remus’s own. It’s been a point of contention for them through the past six weeks over who Teddy looks like more, and it’s always come to a draw thanks to the fact that the Black genes are a strong lot.
He has the same shape to his eyes as Sirius, and the same blueish-gray color on top of that. He’s even got the same, dimpled chin that’s sure to be as narrow as Sirius’s own once the baby fat begins to shed. But he’s also been blessed with Remus’s button like nose, and the freckles that dance across his golden skin. “an angel just like his Tad.”
Remus snorts at him. “Flattery will get you no where Mssr Black.”
“I think flattery got me just about everywhere I wanted to go Mssr Black,” Sirius counters, kissing the hinge of Remus’s jaw, and gingerly pulling out the bottle from Teddy’s open mouth, who’s already begun to snooze. “This one is trouble,” he says while caressing his son’s cheek.
“Just like his Daddy,” Remus leers, eyes glinting with mischief and Sirius can’t believe how just a couple words pouring out Remus’s supple lips are enough to make him so thoroughly dazed.
“What did I tell you about that word,” he tries to rebuke, but his voice instead comes out haggard and horse and wanting.
“Hmm,” Remus twists around so that they’re facing one another now, smirk back on his perfect, plump lips. “Well ’s four in the morning and this one will be asleep for hours. Maybe you should remind me why I shouldn’t call you that in front of the sprog? Eh?” He asks with one of his brows hiked.
And it’s like a hook tugging against Sirius’s stomach with the sudden and searing want. “You’re a menace Mssr Black.” He tells him sagely, and swears that if all he heard for the next millennia is the sound of Remus’s laughter right then— buoyant and glimmering and kissed by sunlight— he’d be so beyond content.

The break-up scene from the Silver backstory is… I worked on it for so long guys. I worked on the fic itself for 7 months and it gave me FITS. And then like, the dynamic wasn’t quite right for William and John so I had to revamp it.
But yeah it paid off.

Sadly, and unsurprisingly, that would be the FlintMadi boat smut . I know this isn't a super popular pairing but like yall, it's def There. I have stared at canon and like. Yep. Here's a good excuse to go read my FlintMadi pieces b/c they're very good if I do say so myself. And I'm planning a non-sexual BDSM one for @calamitys-child ;)

The Blacks Sails Post-canon Fix-it Fic! it's like 15k or something. It was the very first writing/collab project Brinn and I started on and we sure were Ambitious. I maintain that it will get finished eventually. By sheer force of will.

oh gosh. so I’ve recieved many wonderful, thoughtful comments, and I genuinely treasure all of them. But perhaps the most memorable is one on my very first published Black Sails fic, in over our heads.
I had basically never published fic before that point and was just. Not used to comments and didn’t expect any. And I can still remember how just over the MOON happy I was to get this one.
Thank you!!! It pushed me to write more for that story immediately. The comments are why flogging fic got three dif chapters <3

One last time, y’all. This campaign and these characters have meant so much to me, and this seven hour finale was definitely an emotional rollercoaster. (Yes, I shed actual tears at one point, which rarely happens to me with media. But this is a special occasion.) These liveblogs are nearly as long as the episode itself, so grab a snack! With that being said, here are my very last liveblogs for Campaign 2 of Critical Role. As always, major spoilers below, so beware.
- Veth taking a level in Wizard, god I am really gonna cry ten minutes into this thing... 😭
- We got our first “stay with us” to Essek, I am emo...
- I was fully not expecting to say goodbye to Frumpkin, but now I’m on the verge of tears... farewell dear fey friend (Marisha saying “that wasn’t supposed to be what broke me” me too me too)
- “You’re a good person.” “I could be.” “You are.”
- “I think you’re a good person” I never thought that I’d hear Beau say that about Essek and this genuinely might be what breaks me... she thinks he’s a good person.... redemption is possible.... maybe love is real....
- If I end up crying over wizards, look away
- Jester lifting up Fjord’s arm to snuggle beneath it made me say “awww” out loud 🥺
- VETH GOING FOR A DIP IN THE POND, I AM GENUINELY SO PROUD OF HER

- Speaking of relationships, I am lowkey into the Fjord/Jester/Kingsley dynamic LOL no one look at me I’m in hiding

They just make me Emo
- Also. Caleb being a professor was my Number One Endgame Hope for him and the fact that it came true is just so surreal in the best way possible. I’m so used to being robbed of happy endings. The fact that the Mighty Nein all got theirs makes me incredibly happy. A story does not have to be sad to be impactful. Happy stories and happy endings, especially during a time period of tumultuous real life circumstances, have just as much value and meaning and they always will. Caleb is teaching the next generation magic, and he is teaching them to be Good, and he is nurturing them, and that just means so much

- “Let’s do it again” Please, let’s.
- Okay, everyone. I made it all seven hours in one piece with surprisingly minimal tears (though who knows, this might all sink in tomorrow.) I already wrote my thoughts earlier today about how much the Mighty Nein mean to me and how much this show and these characters have kept me holding on during quarantine and today... I’m still not ready to let them go, but I know that I can always revisit to say hello and to say thank you for changing me. Until then though... I love you all more than you could ever know. And for the last time of Campaign 2... is it Thursday yet?

(duuuude ty for the detailed answer!!) dream worrying more about george than himself in this situation kills me. like, i get why he'd try and avoid his feelings about his own shit, but between struggling through recovering from his injuries (which, let's be honest, would be pretty fucking awful) and jolting awake screaming from nightmares about sam & q, it'd be a hard thing to keep up. do you think he and george would ever fight about how set he is on ignoring his own struggles? also, gonna go ahead and sign myself like this for future reference! 🌻

he may have stopped caring about a lot of shit and a lot of people from his corruption but I'll be damned if he didn't still care about george. (even sapnap as well, just a little less because of his betrayal at the finale of the disc saga)
and yes they would have fights. most definitely. george may not care a whole lot about things, and he just usually wants to get things from people and not work for it because he has a factor where he can just do that. everyone knows this. but when it comes to dream, especially in this vulnerable state, he would be caring for him as much as he can and never asking anyone else to help. even if he could ask someone for help, he wouldn't.
dream would constantly worry about what george wants and needs even when he's hurting so bad. all, "george make sure you drink water" "george please sleep, you seem tired" "george I promise you I can do it myself."
and george coming back with "Ill get a drink if I need it. please rest" "YOU seem tired dream. I know you're in pain and sleeping could help" "no. no you can't."
it's just a back and forth of "let me take care of you!" and "no you're insane! you can hardly move let me take care of YOU!" and george has enough one day and goes on a long tangent to dream about how he will get more hurt if he does things, how he is going to make himself die faster by moving so much and stressing about what george needs instead of resting himself.
dream stays quiet after he snaps mostly. letting george help him slowly recover, but still every now and again whispering a comment how he can do this himself. george just glares back.

I don't understand how, besides being a character named after Tacos who really wants to make a Taco (which Justin admitted was racially insensitive on his part), and that being kind of a gag, how exactly is Taako racially coded at all? It kind of seems like it's all just based on his name being a joke by a white creator who wasn't thinking of the racial implications. I just don't understand why he can't really be any race anyone wants him to be (including latine btw) 1/2
2/2 The blue thing I get, btw, and I'm definitely not suggesting that as an alternative, or that we should whitewash a latine character for the sake of it-- I just don't think the McElroys have ever said he's latine. And I think judging people for being uncomfortable with their version of Taako being a representation of latine characters by assuming they have ill intent when they draw a non-latine coded Taako is maybe wrong.

Hey! So I actually kinda talked about this before, but I had a REALLY BIG thought about this in the morning actually, so hopefully I can shed a bit of light on this. (I am ignoring that canonically Taako is a Sun Elf for this)
Okay so, overall because of the McElroy's decision to keep the podcast as “race neutral” as possible, purposely living things up to interpretation, (except for the few canon characters of color (which is like 3 lmao)) This means that any slight deviation from this “neutrality” has very serious implications when it happens. It is NO coincidence that both Jewish people and Latine people have found themselves heavily relating to Taako, hc him as Jewish and/or Latine, etc. It would be foolish to think of this as simply coincidence when the text itself kind of gives us reason to. And in this “race neutral” world, that little bit is all you need.
(i may be reaching a bit but again, i want to emphasize how BECAUSE, this world is MEANT to exist in a “race free” world, LMAO whatever the hell that means, any bit of reference to culture or ethnicity is a very big deal)
Taako says stuff in Yiddish, and one of his big character arcs, is looking for the lost connection of his sister (whether he realizes it or not) and reconnecting with those lost bonds through tex-mex food. He navigates the world through food, that’s kind of his thing. Which to me is a VERY first generation, second generation, child of mexican immigrants, etc. narrative to me. Like that is1000% a Tejano/Chicano narrative to have. Having a nickname/name like Taako, Lup, Tostada, etc. IS SOMETHING we MEXICANS DO TOO LIKE A LOT, I have cousins who are nicknamed Brownie, Dulce, Coco, Guayaba, and Manzanita, and other people have name’s like Concha, which is both shell and a type of bread that looks like a shell, like honestly whether Justin realizes it or not, SILLY NICKNAMES LIKE THIS ARE KIND OF A CULTURAL THING.... White people have nicknames sometimes sure, but for us, it is like a right of passage, it is a big part of who you are, and you can even end up with many different nicknames, some are just PLAIN MEAN, like Chachalaco (someone who never shuts up), Gordita, or mine being Guero (white boyyyy) Like I RELATE TO THEIR NAMES, and that might not make sense to you, but as someone who literally has oc’s named after Mexican food from when I was a kid (Takito, Flor, and Churro) ... well.... sorry but that’s Latine culture babeyyyy
(also own personal hc but like... i can totally picture these little Latine kid’s fucking choosing their own name’s / nickname’s cause that’s like exactly what me and my siblings were like as kid’s smh)

it’s literally the most common name, it’s SO funny to me, that ALONE is enough in my opinion LMAO, you can’t name a character a common short hand for a name like Guadalupe and NOT expect me to gravitate towards her smh

I get what the brothers were trying to do by letting fans hc and come up with their own designs and stuff, but when it comes to race and ethnicity it can become kind of an issue... And as I said in the beginning, because they tried to keep the world as “blank” as possible (which often times really just means white lets be honest here) that means any small instance of a character breaking this neutrality, becomes very difficult to ignore. And I really think, ignoring how many Jewish and Latine fans relate to Taako and Lup, seems like a disservice .... there is clearly something going on here, and I don’t think we should ignore it.
At the end of the day, it is what it is, and there isn’t much else besides this, and Taako canonically being a Sun Elf, and his relationship to food, that to me feels very cultural and important, especially when it comes to trying to reconnect with something you lost (whether it’s family, or traditions), it’s all very metaphorical, but I think it does have some very strong references there that I and many others see themselves in.
(and ofc Latin America is very diverse so there’s that too)
Also I think it’s important to acknowledge that my biggest issue with blue Taako has always been the way the issue went about and what occurred. White peoples opinions on the matter were prioritized, and instead of LISTENING to poc, the McElroy’s let their white guilt take the lead... I would just like for them to have some creatives of color on their team at this point, is that too much to ask?
I think I am very much aloud to remain bitter and upset about this... I don’t want white people getting offended on my behalf over something that isn’t actually offensive, and would actually be pretty awesome representation in my opinion. But again, white voices, feelings, and opinions have been prioritized, and I just have to accept that lmao.

3. how many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
okay i mean, technically i have three on ao3. i wrote ONE fic for law & order svu and it’s an entirely irrelevant fic now because what i wrote about HAPPENED. but people still read it every now and then so i just leave it up. and i also wrote an epilogue fic for the netflix film juanita. i’m not in that fandom cuz that fandom doesn’t really exist but i watched the movie for a film class and i literally turned that fic in as my project for it (yes i got 100% yes go read the fic). so pretty much all i write for is beauty and the beast 2017, my beloved :)

6. what’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
fading memories is your dream, for SURE. 99% of my fics end in a very happy and fluffy way. the only ones that end angsty are my young adam fics, and that one is the Big Boy Prequal Fic that ends in a perfectly tragic way that should lead you right to the beginning of batb 2017. it’s all angst, man.
7. do you write crossovers?
no but i’m not against them! i think they can be fun :) emily and i have an ongoing crossover universe but we’ve never written any fics it just exists through our insane texts and incorrect quotes sjdksj
8. have you ever received hate on a fic?
thankfully, no! the batb readers are all very kind and sweet!! (or at least the ones who read my fics lol)
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
nope nope the furthest i’ll go is making out and even then i’m not graphic or detailed at all

well no not besides me and @ilikebigassbuttsandicannotlie’s crossover universe but it’s not exactly in fic form. and i collab’d with @drawnby27emilys but i did the writing and she did the illustrating, we stuck to our strong suits, lol.
13. what’s your all-time favorite ship?
adam and belle from beauty and the beast 2017 are quite nearly the only ship i have paid any attention to in the last 4 years!!
14. whats a wip that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
hmmm. maybe i’m just optimistic but i feel like i’ll get to everything eventually. there’s one really long fic that i’ve written so many bits and pieces of but never just sat down and written it. mostly for technical plot reasons that i just don’t spend enough time trying to work out. OH! there’s that fic idea i got from that dream i had where it was modern au and adam had a little sister. SHOOT bro i do wanna write that. i wrote so much dialogue for it that next day but the wip itself is hardly anything :(
15. what are your writing strengths?
setting the scene and just painting the picture really nicely so you can see everything clearly. little details that make you feel like you’re watching it. i don’t know, character blocking? i think about what they’re doing a lot, with their hands or where they’re looking or whatever. also i think i’m pretty good at dialogue but that’s just cuz adam and belle are in my head all day long so i know their voices very well
16. what are your writing weaknesses?
conflict for sure. i’m too much of a fluffy writer!! i don’t like writing arguments or them getting mad at each other unless it’s stupid domestic stuff then it’s funny. i’m really good at writing the reconciling/making up lol but i seriously need to work on creating conflict. i just get too attached and i don’t like to see them fight even though i know everyone does and it’s a part of building the relationship >:( and even if it’s not adam and belle i just need to be better at writing it in general, for my oc’s and such. do it for the kids, lyd!
17. what are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
it’s very cool in the correct context!! i can’t do it really but hell yeah!! obviously with batb being in france i sometimes use french terms of endearment, mostly for lumiere lmao, but that’s about all i’m capable of! in my recent kiddos fic i tried out some familial titles like pépère for grandpa maurice and tata & oncle for auntie plumette and uncle lumiere <3 that was fun!
18. what was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
bbc sherlock babeyyyy. i used to hand-write sherlock childhood fic in a journal??? i didn’t even know what fic was i just liked giving him a backstory haha. i did the same for loki but in my phone notes app. i’m nothing in not a sucker for the sad and innocent childhood backstories of very sad men apparently!
19. what’s your favorite fic you’ve ever written?
oh man this is so hard. i’m proud of a lot of my work! majesty of a different breed comes to mind honestly. it’s one of my longer ones and i just truly love how it turned out. i think my descriptors are so good and i capture adam and belle’s dynamic as a newly married couple really well, i think. and i give them a dog! how can you not have a good time reading that fic!
honorable mentions to easy to remember, harder to move on — my maurice memories fic that i also really love. AND fading memories is your dream! my longest work and gosh, i really do love the tragic backstories bro!!! big proud of both of those too :)

truthwatcher duo holders babeyyyy..... um dont read if u havent finished oathbringer i guess
Yoichi had to tell him. If One-For-All, his own bonded spren, couldn’t be trusted- then all he had left was Nadin. It was so easy to- they’d sworn some oaths, because it had been important to the Alethi Truthwatcher to, and Yoichi wouldn’t have been able to bear leaving Urithiru without a word.
But now he was actually facing Nadin, who smiled at him with no idea of what was to come, indulging him in taking a seat and not using his height to look down on him like he normally did.
And Yoichi was about to bring his world down.
His voice felt so dry, and he suddenly wished he’d opened a jug of stronger wine than this yellow stuff. Still, it was what he had, so he knocked it back in a moment.
Nadin lifted a brow. “Something wrong, then?”
“Yeah. It, uh, happened again. The thing. But I know what it is now.” Yoichi put the empty vessel down on the floor in front of his chair. Then he wished he hadn’t, nothing else to do with his hands but hug himself. It didn’t do much to warm him. With the window open the tower was just too cold, but Nadin liked to keep it open. He claimed the air was good for your health, but Yoichi suspected it was to make it easier for his Windrunner friend to visit.
“That should be a good thing, right? I know you and One-For-All have been trying to figure it out for a while...”
“They lied to me. They already knew what it was. Nadin, I- Those visions, i see the future.”
To see the future was of Odium.
Yoichi had never quite understood why the Alethi went so far, in the forbidding of even gambling on outcomes when it was less predictive than the Stormwardens, never quite understood their fear to get anywhere near that. Yes, seeing the future was of Odium. But no one could do that anyway, so why fear anything but a person who claimed to?
And then he’d realized what was happening, what he saw.
Suddenly, understanding had been thrust upon him. Yoichi, too, wanted to be a thousand leagues from anything resembling it, even the silly shell games from his childhood when they’d guess which shell the sphere was hidden under.
“Ok.” Nadin nodded slowly. “Ok. Well they shouldn’t have lied to you, even if they had that reason.”
Yoichi blinked. blinked again.
Did he really think he needed to be reassured about his feelings being valid right now? Did he really think that was the problem?
Illiteracy of the written type was not the only one that plagued this man, it seemed.
“Nadin. I can see the future. That’s- that’s of Odium. I don’t even know if I am a Truthwatcher!” His voice cracked on the last sentence, head dropping into his hands.
There was silence for a long moment, and Yoichi wondered if Nadin was looking to Haar for an answer, or if his own spren had perhaps returned after Yoichi shouted at him.
Then the creak of wood, the chair as Nadin stood.
That had been what he’d expected. Being left too, and why not, when he was lie.
Footsteps.
Not towards the door, but to his chair.
Nadin practically shoved him out of it before resettling them in it, arm looped casually over him.
Yoichi couldn’t see his face, but he didn’t need to to know how he felt when he spoke.
“Yo. I know you. I don’t know why you’re having visions, but I know you aren’t of Odium, at least. I trust you.” I love you. “We can figure this out, we can research. There’s plenty of non-Vorin Knights Radiant, they’d probably be easier to ask and look. And if One-For-All knew, other spren might as well. We will figure this out.”
“I don’t know where they went, after they told me the truth. I don’t know how much we can trust them anyway, or the other spren that know of it.” Yoichi sighed, resisting the urge to relax into Nadin yet. “And even aside where these visions come from- what they say is terrible too.”
“You’re worried about some of the things you saw.” Nadin realized. “Oh.”
Yeah, oh. Yoichi had only told him some of the strange sights and dreams, and there had been so many more. So many worse.
He just nodded.
He felt Nadin nod back.
Then he leaned around Yoichi to kiss him on the nose.
Yoichi jerked back, “Hey.”
“Did you see that coming?”
“Wha- no?’
“Then you just don’t see the good things coming. Your visions are not all encompassing or all powerful, so i’m afraid you will not be able to take the Almighty’s position yet.”
Yoichi twisted so he could actually see Nadin, look into his deep brown eyes. Brown, safe, not green like when he needed to draw Haar as a blade.
“I guess not.” Yoichi huffed a laugh. “But I’ll let you know if that changes, my wonderful Knight.”
“Please do.” Nadin didn’t say anything more for a while, but he did lean his head on Yoichi’s and held him close.
#second got named Nadin here bc its taken from the herald glyph 2#third is a windrunner named Chalam bc the herald glyph 3#and i made first not alethi so that i didn't have to change his name bc in that system he would have had a 'jes' in his name instead#but yeah..... my hero- my knight close enough#Haar is just another name for mist and fits the short scheme of the 'eastern rosharan' mistspren#where o-f-a actually works for a western one if 'dreaming-though-awake' can be the name of one in canon#uhh.... minor row spoilers i guess for the name of a minor character but#my writing#enjoy the duo holders ill get back to actually working on mtby tommorow#which is duo holders but so ~ not canon ~ of it lol
