"Dude. it's just so goddamn good. The rhythms. god. at around 4 minutes in it just goes absolutely fucking ham on the guitar and it's so goddamn good. every time I listen to it I like. whisper scream the melody out alongside and nearly give myself whiplash headbanging. God it's so good. Also--this song is in Homestuck, and it's one of four tracks that plays during the final battle flash. One of the greatest things about Homestuck's music is its use of recurring motifs--something Toby Fox carried with him when he later wrote Undertale's music. Heir of Grief is FULL of melodies and motifs from throughout the entire webcomic, and it ties them all together in this dramatic summation of it all on bold piano and KILLER electric guitar. I am obsessed."
Fat Funny Friend (Maddie Zahm)
Drawn out in Sharpie where I take the scissors/If that's what it took for me to look in the mirror/I've done every diet to make me look thinner/So why do I still feel so goddamn inferior?
"I have actually felt and done every single thing she talks about in this song"
In part 1 of our inaugural lgbtQ&A, Maddie Zahm takes us on a shark adventure, speaks about overcoming internalized homophobia through community, and tells us about her favorite queer character. Check out part 2 here!
