A quick tip to eating healthier for those thay struggle with it is to stop approaching it as "I can't eat this or this or that" and instead just make a commitment / plan to try a new dish / food every [insert comfortable pacing] and have each new thing you try eating be generally healthier than your usual pallete
Cause of biases humans have, its a lot easier to add more than it is to restrict, and if you only have so much time, money, and energy / ability to eat food, by expanding your palette of food you like with healthier foods, you will innately increase the average nutritional quality of your meals
Like you don't have to stop eating safe / comfort foods, just try some new "healthier" meals every so often and continue eating ones that you find out you like from time to time along with what tou currently eat.
Not eating enough veggies? Well maybe once a week try a dish that incorperates veggies in a way you havent tried or try a new vegetable. If you don't like it, thats unfortunate. If you do like it, take a mental note and consider having it again whenever you feel like it.
Its slow but its a lot more sustainable than "dieting" and involves a lot less self torture

Self-Care in Times of Atrocities
This is something I've been struggling with myself, and it's also something I have a general chip on my shoulder about (in terms of the corporatization of self-care, ugh), so here have a post
It can feel impossible or even cruel, to "practice self-care" in the face of the world right now - and in particular, in the face of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
So, I think it's really important to say that self-care does not mean that you are always emotionally balanced at all, that you are never overcome with rage and grief at the horror of ongoing atrocities.
To never be overcome by rage or horror or grief or any other negative emotions would be to shut ourselves off from a huge part of the human experience, in a situation where our connection to our common humanity is, I would argue, more important than ever.
Some days you will feel completely laid low by that rage and horror and grief. Sometimes for a few hours, sometimes for days or more.
That's not only normal, it is a completely rational response to what Israel is inflicting on Palestinians right now. I think it's a completely rational response to any genocide.
In some ways it's also a healthy response. Bottling up or choking off your emotions isn't good for you. Refusing to ever sit with pain isn't good for you. Refusing yourself grief and mourning and catharsis isn't good for you. We know all of this.
Self-care, in times of atrocity, doesn't mean always keeping yourself on some kind of even keel. In a lot of ways I think it means letting yourself cry, letting yourself channel all of your storming emotions into a force that can help, rather than just eat you up inside.
And self-care isn't the kind of corporate, hypercapitalist "buy yourself out of your feelings" bs that we're quite literally sold, either.
Self-care is, very often, not about indulging or pampering yourself (not that there's anything wrong with indulging or pampering yourself).
A lot of the time it just means...taking care of your physical form, as best you can, even when you least want to, so you don't pile more on top of everything else.
A lot of the times it means making yourself eat something, even just some crackers, even though you feel sick from horror.
Or groaning and forcing yourself to drink a glass of water, because you can, you have access to drinkable water, and you can honor that for the privilege it is by avoiding a terrible dehydration headache.
Or making yourself take a shower, even though it's the last thing you feel like doing, because you have an important meeting tomorrow.
Or locking your phone in a drawer for a while, because staying up all night doomscrolling won't do anything but drain you further.
And if you're ever feeling too guilty to do any of that, remember: you cannot pour from an empty vessel. Meeting your own basic needs as best you can is one really, really important way to make sure you have the energy to help.

I just started restrictive eating again after gaining weight on my antidepressants- things that helped me get started
starting slow:
-> cut out snacks, then breakfast, then lunch - then reduced supper to 700, down to 500cal
-> started with weight training (before i started dieting), added in 30min walks a few times a week and built up to 60mins a day and weight training 3x a week
figured out how to control cravings:
-> when i feel i need to eat, i tell myself to drink a cup of green tea, and if im still hungry ill have something small
-> im a chip girly and i love the taste, so i bought crispy minis in my favourite flavours (7cal / chip) and i eat a couple every day
-> for sweets, keep small chocolates, or i make my coffee sweet with zero cal coffee syrup, which keeps me satisfied all day
-> for fried foods, I just be careful with what I eat. for chicken fingers, i eat chicken breast instead - for fries, i eat other carbs (the low cal salty snacks help too)
-> if you don’t control your cravings, they will control you
figured out my triggering times and adjusted:
-> i start feeling hungry around 2-3, so that’s when i go on my daily walk (im lucky to be able to do this) it keeps me out of the house and away from food until supper
-> i used to binge on chips and chocolates at night, now i drink tea sweetened with stevia and a couple of crispy minis
-> at my triggering times, i look at thinspø, or my body to remind myself why im doing this
other rules i follow:
-> if tea is not available, drink an entire stanley of water before seeing if you’re hungry
-> chew about 10x per bite
-> drink an entire stanley of water while eating my supper to keep me full (i honestly feel stuffed after)
-> i still go out to eat with friends, but order something small / healthier, and pack up half for tomorrows meal. i want to lose the weight, but i want to enjoy time with friends too
-> “if i binge, ill just feel more hungry tomorrow”
-> embrace the hunger, it means im burning fat
-> i waited till i felt “skinnier” to weigh in, because i knew seeing the number would discourage me (idk why it has the opposite effect on me)
-> doing the calculations to find out when i will hit goals with my cal intake (number of days x caloric deficit / 3500 = pounds lost) - this keeps me motivated having an “end date”, but i dont think ill ever want to quit

Ya’ll already know who Leshy is so I will be skipping his introduction, so meet Miyu! Likely the Cult’s best farmer who definitely doesn’t sleep a healthy amount of hours every night and totally not works overtime at the farm to avoid said activity! They were rescued along with their two little siblings after the farm they lived in was attacked by heretics, fanatics of a certain ex-god of chaos, which got Miyu to grow quite scared and resentful towards said god. The problem? They interact with him everyday…oh but don’t worry, it’s not like they know it’s him, so it should be fine, right?
