You honestly had no clue of Luffy’s sexual past or if he even had one when you first joined the strawhats. You’ve all had sprinkled a little bit of each other’s once in a while when drinking and having little pow wow’s, but Luffy was never interested in talking about it. He was more focused on two things:

His goal.

And meat.

Somehow him being so carefree and not really caring of things like being in a relationship or doing anything intimate was attractive to you. Which sucked. You were growing an attraction to a man who shows none to anybody. But today surprised you.

You were cleaning the aquarium when Luffy came running in hollering your name,

“HEY Y/N!!! Robin wanted me to give you this book!” He giggled waving the small thing around.

“Oh thank you. I’ll be reading that later.”

“What is it about?”

You kind of side eye’d you captain for a moment, since when was he interested in books?

“Um…it’s just a stupid little romance book about a guy who’s afraid of getting with the girl he likes because he can’t kiss.”

Luffy laughed at the horrible description, “What?! That’s so stupid—“

“I know…”

“So what if he can’t kiss she should get with him!”

His slight interest in your book worried you a bit, however you have thought about asking Luffy questions similar to the topic at hand just to get an understanding of him.

…and because you have a fucking crush on the guy.

“Would you get with a girl that kissed badly, Captain?”

Luffy shrugged leaning on the wall beside you putting his arms behind his back, “I mean how can you kiss badly? I’ve seen people do it isn’t it just smashing your faces together?”

You hummed bending over slightly to wipe the glass window, “Have you ever kissed somebody , Luffy?”

“No…should I? Will it help me become a pirate king or something?”

You laughed at his curiosity, he had a tint of sarcasm behind it, but you were happy to hear some truth behind what he said, “No, but there’s nothing wrong with kissing someone…well not anybody moreso someone you like.”

“Have you kissed someone?” He walked over to you to look at your face.

“Yeah, I have kissed people before—-.”

“Did you like it?”

His quick response made you turn your head at him, and it made you feel a bit warm not realizing how close he was, his eyes were not on yours, but on your lips. You cleared your throat before sitting down on the seat to answer him.

“I liked a few…but some weren’t…so great…why did you want me to teach you?”

You were clearly joking with your last question and expecting a typical laugh and no from Luffy, but instead he did a faint chuckle with you and scratched the back of his neck.

“Yeah.” He smiled wide, “Teach me! I bet I can be way better than the last guys you kissed!”

You pause for a moment, almost scruntching your face at the man in disbelief, and you thought he was kidding until he put down his hat and faced you criss cross apple sauce with excitement in his eyes.

You looked around a moment making sure you couldn’t hear or see anybody approach but Luffy grabbed your cheeks and pulled you towards his face.

“Stop worrying if someone comes in just teach me!”

“But don’t you want to kiss someone you like?” You mumbled seeing as Luffy enjoyed squishing your cheeks together

“I do like you! I like you a lot ! You’re the only girl I’d kiss, stupid!” He did his typical snicker which made you swallow hard, really? How the hell were you supposed to know he liked you he showed no affection towards you ever?

“Okay…” You moved back and sat in front of Luffy, “You have to stop smiling, first.”

“Hahaha i cant you look so cute nervous it’s funny!”

“I’m not nervous!” You pouted making him squeeze your cheeks again. “You’re annoying.”

“But you like me thoughhhhhhhh.”

“N-no I don’t!”

“Yes you do you look at me the same way Sanji looks at women and you blush a lot when I talk to you!”

“I’m brown I can’t blush!”

“So?! Your cheeks still change color!”

You grumbled in his warm palms, but looked back at him still smiling, you push back and you cup his cheeks.

“You better not burp in my mouth.” You pout.

“No promises!”

You sigh and lean into his face, you closed your eyes and Luffy noticed this and stopped smiling, instead he got nervous, you smelled really good and clean and your lipgloss was so shiny! You planted your supple lips on his slightly dry ones and stayed there for a second. Luffy placed his hand on yours and kept his eyes open the whole time. You were a really good kisser in his mind.

“Why we’re your eyes open?!” You pull back noticing him stare back at you blankly.

“I’m supposed to close my eyes too?!”

“YES?! You look like a weirdo staring at me it’s like sneezing with your eyes open!”

“Oh I can do that too.”

“Good Lord..”

Luffy bounced up and down licking his lips, “Your lips taste like…chocolate.”

“Boy…”

“No seriously! It’s very sweet. But you Gatta do it again you didn’t move.”

“Wha—“

“See look like this—“

Luffy Grabs the back of your head and kisses you but with way more force. He grabs your thigh under your skirt, squeezing it making you open your eyes in shock, he sees your eyes open and uses his now free hand to close your lids with his fingers, his kiss was very sloppy and it felt like he wanted to eat you but it wasn’t until he slid his tongue in your mouth you had to grab onto his muscular arm.

“See!” A String of spit was disconnected from your both when Luffy wiped his mouth with the back of his palm. “That’s how you kiss!”

You were speechless. This man really had no filter, “Wh-where did you learn to kiss with tongue!?”

“I don’t know I’ve seen it once back in Dressrosa.”

You sat back in the cushioned seat but Luffy wasn’t finished he liked tasting you and he wanted more. And whatever the caption wants he gets.

He grabs your waist and plops you on his lap pulling you down to kiss you again, but you grab his chest.

“Wait wait what are you doing?!”

“I like you. I like Kissing. Let’s keep kissing, you still have to teach me more! Like…what’s that thing where the girl sticks her tongue out and the guy su—-“

“LET’S TRY ONE THING AT A TIME, LU!” You cover his mouth but he laughs and moves your hand down.

“Okay! Now kiss me again!”

You peck his lips and pull back quickly.

“Mmhm. Again.” Now he started puckering his lips in anticipation and it was literally so cute you cupped his squishy cheeks and gave him a real kiss.

Luffy was a pretty fast learner, his kisses were still a bit wetter than it should be but his lips became soft due to him practically stealing your lip gloss from your own lips, but it felt good.

“H-hey!” You squealed feeling his hand squeeze your bottom “You getting a bit frisky now! Where did you learn that?!”

Luffy Just shrugs and says in a deadpanned expression,

“I seen a lot of stuff in Dressrosa.”

Author’s Note: Hey everyone! I had a cleaning about a week and a half ago, and I got thinking . . . What would Matt be like at the dentist? And I came up with this. Enjoy! :)

Summary: It’s a normal night until Matt pulls away from a kiss. When you find out the reason why, you ask him to go to your dental office and help him out.

Warnings: Fluff, established relationship, domesticity, idiots in love, dental pain/going to the dentist (nothing graphic or terribly descriptive, just general annual/semi-annual exam descriptions, girlfriend is a dentist), allusions to sex (p in v sex, m!receiving blowjobs)

“Hey,” you smile as Matt walks through the door.

“Hey,” he mirrors, his smile matching yours. It doesn’t take long for him to put down his things and walk over to where you sit to give you a proper kiss. 

“I put your plate in the microwave,” you tell him. “I covered it with some foil, so it should still be warm if you’re hungry.”

“Thank you, sweetheart,” he says with another kiss before undoing the knot in his tie and walking to the bedroom. “We weren’t sure how long we were going to be, so we ordered in. I’ll have a few bites, but there’s no promise I’ll finish it.”

“Well, I don’t want you to feel forced into eating if you’re not hungry,” you tell him as you resume your work with your appointment schedule for the next month. “I mean, I know it’s not going to go to waste. Hey, look at it this way—you have lunch for tomorrow!”

“Always the optimist,” he smiles as he leaves the bedroom in a t-shirt and sweats, moving to put his leftovers in the fridge before sitting next to you. You smile as he keens for affection, turning and placing a big kiss on his cheek. When he winces on contact, you immediately pull back. 

“What’s wrong?” you ask. 

“Nothing,” he deflects with a little shake of his head. 

“Matty, you winced at a kiss. My kiss. Something’s up.”

“It’s really nothing. Honest.”

“Please don’t lie to me.”

He lets out a soft sigh and hangs his head, remembering your promise to one another to never keep secrets—the only acceptable secrets being good news and sweet surprises. 

“My tooth has been bothering me,” he admits. “And it didn’t start when I was Daredevil. I was just Matt.”

“When did it start?”

“Last week?”

“Matt—.”

“I didn’t say anything because I knew you’d react like this!”

“I’m reacting like this because you waited a week, Matt! You shouldn’t push something like this off!”

“I hate dentists!” he blurts, his eyes wide and his chest rising and falling quickly.

“So you hate dentists so much, you decided to date one?”

“Sweetheart, you know what I mean.”

“I get it,” you say with a long sigh, sliding your hand in his. “The dentist isn’t anyone’s favorite, and with your senses, I—.” You stop mid sentence as something occurs to you. “Matt, when was the last time you went to the dentist?”

“It’s been a while.”

“Define ‘a while’. A few years?”

“A while,” he says with a sad little ‘you’re-gonna-be-mad-but-please-don’t-hate-me’ look.

“Matt . . .”

“It just hurts so bad when I go. The nuns made sure we had our annual appointments, but after that . . .”

“So the last time you went to the dentist was when you were 18?”

“17,” he corrects. 

“Matthew! How do you still have teeth?”

“I brush and floss. Sometimes I use a rinse.”

“This isn’t funny. Matt, please,” you gently beg. “This is your health we’re talking about!”

“(Y/N)—.”

“Please let me help you with this, Matt.”

“I’m okay, (Y/N), I promise.”

“Please. I will have my best hygienist stay and we will go slow and we will be careful. I will be right there to hold your hand.”

“Sweetheart—.”

“I will even do it. Cleaning and all,” you offer. “I just . . . I care about you so much, Matt. You shouldn’t avoid doing something for your health because you’re afraid of it. I love you, and that includes the things that come out of you.” You dip your head slightly as you give his hands a squeeze. “I don’t want to see you in pain. And if this turns into something bigger, I don’t want you to be in any more pain that you already are.”

“I’ll do it,” he whispers. “For you, I’d do it.”

You tilt your head up and absorb the tenderness and sincerity all over his face. You stretch and bring your lips to his forehead, pressing a long kiss to the skin.

“Thank you,” you whisper. “I love you so much.”

“I love you more.”

You kiss his forehead once more, running your fingers through his soft locks. “Will you let me look at it tomorrow night? I’d ask to go to my office now, but I don’t want to push my luck.”

He chuckles softly. “Okay. Tomorrow.”

“Thank you,” you tell him once more. “Can I at least get you some ice for it?”

“It only hurts when something touches it, or I chew. I’m okay.”

“Please?”

“You’re gonna keep asking until I say yes, aren’t you, sweet girl?”

“You know me too well.”

“Okay, then,” he says gently, brushing his nose against mine. “You can get me some ice.”

“Alright, Matty,” you tell him as you wrap a paper bib around his neck. “If I start to hurt you at all or it’s uncomfortable or you need a break, just make a noise and I’ll stop, okay? Even if I gently poke you and you don’t like it, you make a noise, and we finish the exam.”

“Okay,” he nods. To the untrained ear, nothing sounds off. But you know Matt better—he’s nervous, scared even. 

“Hey,” you whisper. “I love you more than anything. I’m proud of you for doing this.”

“I love you, angel.”

With a kiss to his forehead, you lean him back in the chair and adjust the light above him. 

“Open your mouth and tilt toward me, Matty,” you say as you get your tools. He does as you ask and you gently start the exam, using your mouth mirror and curette to gently start looking at his teeth and cleaning them of plaque. You go very slow, taking your time on each tooth and doing gentle and repeated motions to get rid of all the build up.

“You doing okay?” you ask as you take your tools out of his mouth, giving him a bit of a reprieve.

“So far so good,” he says. “What’s the prognosis, doc?”

“Too soon to tell. You’ve got good teeth for not having braces, though. But I didn’t need to be in your mouth to tell you you have pretty teeth.”

“Isn’t it not kosher to flirt with your patients?”

“Not flirting to say someone has pretty teeth,” you smile, kissing the tip of his nose. “Besides, different rules apply when the patient is my boyfriend. Now, c’mon, open back up.”

Matt murmurs an “okay” before doing as you ask and lets you continue. He does really well with a mix of letting you work and short breaks, but when you hit a particularly tough spot of tartar and he winces as you scrape it off, you immediately withdraw and put your tools on the tray to your right.

“Okay, we’re done,” you say, moving to take off your gloves and clean up, hating yourself that you hurt Matt after he let you do something he didn’t want to in the first place.

“No, keep going,” he says.

“No,” you insist. “I promised you that at the first sign on pain and discomfort I’d stop. I hurt you—I’m stopping.”

“Hey,” he says softly, taking your hands in his. “I’m okay. I promise. I want you to finish up the exam.”

“But I hurt you,” you repeat softly. “I told you I didn’t want to see you in pain, and then I caused you pain.”

“You’re too sweet for your own good, angel. Please, finish.”

“Well, next is the polishing tool. The brush is loud. I have some earplugs if you want them to at least dull it.”

“You think of everything, sweetheart.”

Fishing out the little foam cones, you hand them to Matt and let him situate them in his ear canal before he sits back down and lets you finish it all up without a single cringe. Once you finish, you lean over and press a kiss to his lips, making him giggle and hold you in place for more embraces before sliding out the earplugs, expertly tossing them into the trash can on the opposing wall.

“You have a bruised tooth,” you say, taking your gloves off as you gently sit him up. 

“You can bruise a tooth?” he questions. 

“Mmhm. Whatever you bit down on, you bit hard and it bruised. If you had a cavity, it would’ve been a cracked tooth. The good new is that it should be feeling better by next week. But other than that, your teeth are beautiful and strong and healthy. Just use the fluoride rinse I use to help keep everything strong.”

Once the chair stops moving, you slide one of your hands in his, the other brushing hair off of his forehead. “How does your mouth feel?”

“It hurts. But nowhere near as bad as it would when I was a kid,” he says, leaning into your touch. “Thank you for taking care of me.”

“Forever and always,” I smile softly. “Would you let me do this again? Cleaning and exam, once a year?”

“I’d only say yes to you. I love you.”

“I love you more, Matty.”

“I do have a question, though.”

“Yeah?”

“Don’t get mad?”

“Now I’m a bit worried, I’m not gonna lie.”

“Is this . . . Does your jaw get this sore when we, uh, you—?” His mouth doesn’t want to finish the sentence, but the look on his face and how he holds his hands tell you everything you need to know. You can’t help the laughter that bubbles out of your chest before you kiss his temple. 

“Oh, Matt,” you hum, feeling how hot your cheeks burn at his question. “Um, no, my mouth doesn’t hurt like that when I suck on you.“

“Good,” he smiles softly. “The only spot I want you to be sore is between you legs after I’m finished with you.”

“Then mission repeatedly accomplished.”

Now it’s his turn to chuckle, resting his hand on your neck and pulling you in for a kiss. “Let’s go home, sweetheart. You’ve been at this office long enough today, no thanks to me. We can pick up some dinner.”

“That sounds nice. But we’re cooking tonight. Until that tooth feels better, it’s strict doctor’s orders.”

“Oh?” he smirks.

“Mmhm. The last thing I need is you getting chicken stuck between your teeth, especially against the bad tooth.”

“So what do you suggest we make, then?”

You purse your lips to the side and think. “Homemade pasta? Soft, tasty, and you have all the ingredients in your apartment.”

“I’m actually out of eggs.”

“I don’t know how you survive, Matty,” you chuckle.

“Takeout, food clients give as payment, and the occasional meal from Mrs. Nelson,” he smiles. “Oh, and my amazing girlfriend is the most important part in ensuring my survival.”

“The we’ll go pick up some eggs, grab some things for a sauce, and some other things for the rest of the week that will be good on your tooth.”

“Sounds good, angel. Let’s go.”

warnings: mentions serious hockey related injuries (blade cutting through skin), talks about scars, fear, insecurities, and hesitation. Reading about Nick’s face injury had me going through so many emotions, because I can’t imagine what it’d feel like to actually go through it. Also, this isn’t me trying to romanticize injuries; I just wanted to write something for those who may still be affected by life changing/ traumatic events in their life. They deserve to be empathized with.

Dallas is laid out on her bed, Nick by her side as they’re buried under her fuzzy blanket. They’re facing each other, Nick’s hand under her big shirt, rubbing her skin all while Dallas tangles her fingers in his soft hair. They’re officially boyfriend and girlfriend, but they’re still getting to know each other. Which is why Nick is finally opening up about his hockey incident.

She was quick to notice his scar when they first met, but never brought it up. She wasn’t sure if it was a sensitive subject. When they started dating, she grew more curious, but decided to wait until he brought it up.

“I feel like I’m being dramatic,” Nick warns his girlfriend.

“No, you’re not dramatic. You went through something traumatic, and if you’re willing to share that story with me, I’ll listen and I will never judge you about your feelings or thoughts,” she whispers as this moment is one of the most intimate between the couple.

“I don’t really remember feeling the blade cut through my skin, but the pain after the shock wore off was something I’ve never felt before. It wasn’t just physical pain either. I knew recovery time would take me away from hockey for a while. I also wasn’t sure if I’d even recover and still be able to play. The waiting was just absolutely daunting,” Nick speaks softly, afraid his voice might display just how affected he is by his incident, even now.

“How did you feel when you were told that you’d be okay?”

“Relieved. I was relieved that I’d make a full recovery. For most people it might seem irrelevant, but my second thought was hockey. I wanted to get back on the ice. I was so scared that I’d never be able to play again.”

“I’m so sorry you went through something like that. I can’t imagine how scared you must’ve been. How scared your parents were,” Dallas adds in, pressing a chaste kiss to his lips.

“I hate talking about it. It was a hard time for me, you know? I was thinking about hockey just about every second, but then I had to talk myself into being okay if I couldn’t play again. Do you think I’m overreacting? I feel like maybe I shouldn’t have been thinking about hockey so much, because in the grand scheme of things, it’s not a big deal. All that really mattered was if I would survive.”

“You’re not overreacting. You had a visceral reaction. There’s nothing wrong with that. You love hockey; I think it’s only natural to go through the emotions that you went through,” the girl assured him, pulling his body closer to his as if they weren’t already as close as possible. She places his hand over her heart, so that he has something soothing to focus on.

“Sometimes I’m still wary about being on the ice. I’m worried about taking another blade to the face. I don’t want another scar, even though scars in hockey are inevitable. I don’t know. I guess sometimes it can make me feel insecure,” he further explains.

“You’re still handsome. As for you being worried about another incident like that, it’s only natural. Just because you’re back to playing hockey and feel comfortable on the ice, doesn’t mean that it won’t linger in the back of your mind.”

Dallas caresses the side of his face, letting her thumb glide over the raised skin of his scar. She watches the way his eyes close at the feeling. She sees his breath get shaky, so she lays gentle kisses along the scar.

“Thank you for trusting me and telling me this story. I’m here for you always, Nicky,” she expresses her appreciation through a few more kisses, feeling content when they bring a smile to his face.

“Thanks for listening.”

Dallas just nods her head, pulling him on top of her body. Her heartbeat races when he immediately cuddles into her, his face hiding in her neck and their legs tangling together. She’d do anything to protect him and make him feel loved.

A not-as-long addition to the Ted Lasso: Coach Shaped or Dad Shaped Thesis

When it comes to Ted wildly fluctuating between being Coach Shaped and Dad Shaped with the people around him, Jamie isn’t the only one who had trouble distinguishing what side of the stick was swinging for him. Nate struggled with it too.

Nate’s is a comedic introduction but one that explains him perfectly- he’s high strung, anal retentive, lacks self confidence, is afraid to speak out, and he (rightfully) assumes he’s such a non-person that no one knows his name (which is an underdog trope in media, but a self-fulfilling prophecy in real life, but I digress.

“What was that? Sorry I have a hard time listening to people who don’t believe in themselves. Now is this plan going to work?”

So here comes Ted with his people skills and human decency and he clocks Nate pretty quickly. It’s not long before he’s giving Nate the same Ted-isms he gives the boys on the team. It’s very Coach of him. But to Nate it’s not that simple. It’s Personal Attention, and it’s falling like rain after forty years of drought. It’s clearly the first time in a long time that anyone’s put any effort into Nate - including Nate.

And don’t get me started on Nate’s age, because the actor is past 40 and the thought of Nate working as a kitman for what was likely fucking…..years, so close to his dream job but so irrelevant to the people around him. Going home to his parents and whichever sibling-with-kids. Taking all the little jabs from his dad on the chin. His mother being sweet but placating in regards to his dad’s dismissals. Having nothing to celebrate with them that isn’t a holiday or birthday, because he’s not done anything with himself worth being proud of.

He borrowed his dad’s suit to the gala, and Ted took one look at it and went ‘that’s not good enough for you. Let’s sort this out’

His own dad was fine with Nate not trying- in that he withholds all hid expectations and then judges Nate when he fails to meet them. But then there’s Ted, and his expectations of Nate are sky high, clearly spoken, and he wants to help Nate get there.

So yeah, to Nathan Shelley Ted Lasso was very very Dad Shaped.

Nate finally got his big Want - becoming one of the coach’s - but it’s afterwards that things spiraled, and it’s entirely because from Nathan’s pov he saw Ted’s affection drying up. There was this guy who spent a whole year talking and building him up, and then all the sudden he peeks behind him and no one’s holding the bicycle seat. Ted’s still down the street and he’s looking the other way- at Roy, at Jamie, at Sam. So Nate doubles-down on what he thinks made him Great in the first place- his sharp mind and cutting analytics. His ability to not be too impressed by the professional athletes around him. But he keeps doing it Wrong somehow, because Ted isn’t looking at him with approval. He’s just watching Nate, and occasionally shaking his head like he’s disappointed.

It’s so Nate’s Dad Shaped he could scream.

Ted gave him a whistle - a loud signifier of power on the field - and then when Nate wasn’t looking, he replaced it with an indoor whistle. Because Nate kept using the loud whistle too loudly. Because Nate doesn’t understand when and where to use it, just like he doesn’t know yet how and when he should use his own powers as a leader.

Roy doesn’t even need a whistle. Roy comes back and just shouts ‘whistle!’ and it’s the same if not more effective than Nate’s whistle ever was. No one had to give Roy power.

So yeah. Ted Lasso built him up the way his dad never did, and then turned away like his dad always did the second Nate did something wrong. Of course he was Dad Shaped to Nate. How could he not be?

This, if anything, is almost tangible proof that Nate never played team sports as a kid, and it’s heartbreaking because it means Nate missed all the signs in season one that Ted never set out to be a substitute father to Nate.

Ted was Coaching him, deliberately, to join him as a Coach.

He looks at Nate and he sees someone whip-smart and brimming with potential and he doesn’t think twice about testing him out. Springing questions like pop quizzes, making moments for Nate to step up and shine. He arguably doesn’t even see how much Nate is struggling past a surface level (he never sees how Nate interacts with his family). Ted has one true victory at the end of season one, and it’s that he got Nate up to Assistant Coach. And don’t forget that for Ted being a Coach is his life’s work, he loves it.

He very likely did not imagine that that wouldn’t be enough for some people.

And so throughout season two we have this dissolution between Ted and Nate. Nate keeps waiting for Ted to step back up to the plate and guide him; and Ted keeps waiting for Nate to figure out what Coach Nate looks like. Of course Ted won’t step in, just the same as he wouldn’t step on Beard’s toes. The same that he’ll remark to Roy that he’s supposed to be coaching Jamie too, but ultimately won’t step in the middle of them working out their (many many) issues. He respects them all as Coach too much to interfere.

The tragedy of it all is that they both missed the forest for the trees. They were so focused on the roles they could play in each other’s lives, that it wasn’t until the dust settled that the actual role they played in each other’s lives became apparent.

They were friends.

Not the same way that Beard and Ted are friends, which is all friendship wrapped in a blanket of “Coach” “Coach”. Not friendship the way that Ted is still having to pull Roy to the side and Coach him on Coaching, while Roy keeps Ted abay by being miles ahead at being a well-adjusted person who understands themself. But all friendship isn’t meant to be the same, and what Ted and Nate had was built on its own foundation of respect and genuinely liking the other person.

Theirs is a friendship break up, and it hurts to watch.

Happy Monday evening all :) Ewww an Ashley episode. Such a bummer after the last episode haha Not a ton of Chenford content but what we do get is good. There is a case involved but they're not in it enough to analyze anything. Oh also this ep is the intro of Chris so double eww. This episode is just one giant display of why Ashley and Chris aren't meant for either of them. But we knew that already didn't we? Let’s get started eh?

4x10 Heart Beat

Start our episode off with why Ashley isn’t right for Tim. Hit the ground running and the reasons are plentiful. First off Tim doesn’t even think to make Ashley anything. This is all for Kojo. Which I friggin love btw. The animal lover in me adores how spoiled Kojo is. Also imma need some more of this pup in S6. You hear me writers? I need this dog back. Ashley says she’s not a breakfast person but still the least romantic morning ever. They are very early in their dating period and its pretty tame. The way he moves around her. No intimacy at all. Avoiding her as he makes his way over to Kojo’s bowl.

Shows more affection towards his dog than her haha It’s the complete opposite of Tim and Lucy in 5x20. Where there is zero space, lots of touching, flirting and food to be had. Can't keep their hands off each other. The blahness that is Ashley is prominent in this opening scene. Also her judgy tone when she mentions that’s what he gets? If I was dating a man who took that good of care of his dog? I would be a goner. But this is Ashley so….

She is far too vapid for Tim. I looked up the definition of that word to reinforce my point. “Offering nothing that is stimulating or challenging.” If that isn’t the definition of their relationship and her as a character idk what is. Tim has found the very opposite from Lucy in Ashley. She is blah, doesn’t challenge him in any way and definitely doesn’t stimulate him whatsoever. All things he gets from Lucy. Interesting...Almost like he shouldn't be dating her....

She continues down her ‘Why she is wrong for Tim path' When she is afraid/doesn’t like Kojo. I already didn’t like her but this didn’t help her case. If I was dating someone and they didn’t like my dog?Goodbye sir. Twas fun while it lasted LOL Maybe it’s the protective dog person in me but I can not stand her first thought being ‘dangerous’ with Kojo. Just because he didn’t like her at first. Tim telling her he took him in cause Lucy couldn’t keep him.

He tries to help her adjust to him but she isn't about it. Just wants to leave. To me if my dog doesn’t like you that is far more telling than anything else IMO. Dogs have a good sense of people so this would’ve been telling to me as a dog owner. Ashley was already on my 'I don’t like you list.' But the not liking Kojo part plummets her to the very bottom…Also watching Tim with Kojo is ovary explosion for me. Way he pets him and loves on him. My heart. That's his kid.

We join our couple in their shop. Lucy asks how it’s going with Ashley? Tim says good but there was some weirdness this morning. Tim mentions he thinks she doesn’t like Kojo. Lucy’s reaction cracks me up. She could not be more telling when she says 'So you broke up with her? Thats too bad….I liked her…’ 'Lying liar. You know she was hoping he did. We all want that.

The way he loves that dog it actually would make sense. To Lucy as well her not liking Kojo is another strike against her anyways. It’s a valid response to anyone who is a pet owner really. Unfortunately we are stuck with her for a long while. Bleh. My dislike for her is very strong. Because she is everything he doesn’t need or want.

Tim says since when? Knowing she has never liked her. That Lucy had been giving him crap cause she’s a lifeguard ha I mean I can't say I blame her. I would too. Her sarcasm continuing with her reply. Fairly certain none of us considered it a career until Ashley came into the picture. Tim defends the training she had to go through. That it was rigorous training at the fire academy. Trying to make her job sound more prestigious than it is in just the name alone. Lucy doesn’t press it further and says my bad with a smile even though I think she is still secretly judging her LOL

Lucy has such a dog-mom moment here. I love it so very much. As she states his full name above LOL I bet you she has supplied that boy with many chew toys he’s destroyed. Makes me happy to think of Lucy going over to Tim's just to deliver treats and toys for their shared fur-child. Seriously going to need some couple moments with him in S6. It's a crime we haven't gotten them yet.

Lucy's transparency continues when she tells Tim 'Clearly Ashley has to go.' If only it was that easy. Saying it’s a moot point if she doesn’t like Kojo. Now anyone can see she isn’t right for him. The person who knows him the best? Can see it from a mile away the multiple reasons Ashley isn’t right for Tim. So might as well cut this off right now in her opinion. The look they share haha Even when talking about his relationship they are flirty af. So married in their disposition with one another. I love it. Also he's not really disagreeing with her...

Lucy ends up getting a phone call and it’s Ashley… She is confused but intrigued by this phone call. Idk how the hell she got her number. LOL Now you know Lucy is in love with Tim when she gives such solid advice to Ashley. It’s the way she talks about Kojo being like Tim. Girl is so gone for him. Something she continually tries to suppress this entire season. Like she is warding it off really.

Ashley tells her she likes Tim but she’s scared of his dog. Asking why she gave him away? Asking if he was too aggressive? Ugh I hate her animal ignorance so much. Maybe it’s because been I've been in dog world for over a decade but I cannot stand her going right to ‘aggressive.’ Lucy defends her boy says 'No! Not at all. He just wasn’t meant for her living situation.'

Lucy asks if she doesn’t like dogs? Secretly hoping she says yes heh Ashley tells she had a bad experience once. Lucy empathizes and says she gets it. Goes on to say Kojo is the sweetest guy. It’s here we see her switch over to gushing about Tim. It’s the way she’s looking at Tim in Grey’s office that gets me. As she explains how Kojo is just like Tim. Careful Lucy your feelings are showing.

He’s big, gruff, and a whole lot of bark but underneath is a sweetheart. I mean Tim is for HER. Let’s get that clear first. Tim is only soft for Lucy. I adore her helping out in this situation though. She didn't have to but it's Lucy. If Ashley could see how she was looking at Tim. She might feel a little threatened. Not only that but her deep knowledge of Tim. Might catch on she’s just the littlest bit in love with him lol But then 4x12 happens later on so.... How she didn’t break up with Tim after that display idk. So maybe she wouldn’t put 2 and 2 together.

I'm giving her too much credit haha Lucy speaks from a place of love about him. She probably has no idea how she is coming off but it's so obvious. Clearly not talking about Kojo in that tone. She loves that good boy but loves his owner more. Lucy tells her to talk to Tim about it. Ashley replies no that she’s not going to make him pick between her or his dog. That there is a whole genre of country songs about that. Before Lucy can defend Tim more or why she should Ashley cuts the convo off and says good night. Awkward…

It’s then we meet friggin Chris Sanford. *glares* The epitome of meh. Earlier in the ep they arrested young boy dealing drugs. He is one of James’s newest mentees. Lucy being the empathetic soul she is cites him out on a lower charge. That way he gets a fighting chance with James to turn his life around. Just has to attend his court date and such. Very kind thing of her to do for this young man.

He comes in like a mega douche. Instant dislike for his character for how he comes at Lucy. Trying to shame her for citing him out like she did. Calling her naive and basically being an absolute asshat. Lucy CRUSHES him in her reply above. I dislike Chris so very much so this was glorious to watch. Tim Bradford doesn’t stand a chance most days against her. You think your puny ass with 4 months of experience had a chance of winning that argument? What a putz…

Lucy catches Tim in the parking garage before he leaves. Ah this glorious place where all our wonderful moments occur. Lucy tells him it was Ashley who called her earlier. Gotta love how open she is with Tim always. As usual Lucy is toeing the line of personal boundaries with him. Possibly overstepping by bringing this up. But that’s kind of their thing.

Also like to note how telling it is that Ashley felt more comfortable coming to Lucy and not her BF about this. That she didn’t think he would listen to her but Lucy would. Because well she did. Lucy does get the other side of the story with Kojo. That is not a dislike but bad experience on her end. Which to be fair is valid when you’ve had a bad experience with a dog. Now that being said I still dislike so very much.

What I’m trying to get at here is Lucy interpreted this as Tim not fulling listening to Ashley’s concern. It’s not surprising Tim gets a little hard headed about things. Especially things he loves. So he’s instantly defensive about said things. I’m the same way. Lucy knows this about him. Which is why they’re having this conversation. So she can bring his attention to it in way only she can. Because Tim actually listens to Lucy. This scene really is more about their bond than his issue with Ashley. How Lucy is the only one who can ever get through to Tim. Her super power really.

He doesn’t listen to anyone the way he listens to Lucy. Especially when she is doling out advice for him. This is a kindness she is doing for him. Letting him know one his GF called her and two the reason behind it. That she is scared and he needs to listen to her about it. Tim shrugs it off like it’s nothing. Which you can see Lucy is a little taken aback with. How instantly shut off he is to this conversation. But like i said earlier he is defensive about things he loves. He LOVES that dog.

This is their dance with advice he is defensive or dismissive at first. Then it sinks in and he truly listens to what she is telling him. She may not like Ashley. (None of us do..) But she would be remiss not to share her opinion on this with him. Tim instead of thanking her for the advice deflects. Because well Tim. Asking why she is so invested in his love life? Asking with a little smile some sass in that question of his. Also gauging what her reaction will be. He is truly curious.

It is interesting how his love life is the only one she intercedes in. Not Nolan or any of his. She didn’t with Jackson for either of his love interests. Just Tim. Because that shows the level of importance this man has gained in her life. Saw some parallels to this moment and 2x03. When she was trying to pair Tim up with Rachel. How Lucy once again is involved in his love life. It’s true that she just wants him to be happy.

Also Tim’s interest in why she is interested in his love life is far different than 2x03. He didn’t question it then. Just thought it was apart of their bet. In S4 he is a lot more aware. Like I said in the last review their bond and their awareness of each other is far stronger than it was in S2. He is so genuinely curious why she is so invested in it?

They’ve had a lot of intimate moments and work flirts since 4x01. Tim can feel the shift that has happened between them. So it makes him curious why she is helping him like she is? Lucy does some deflecting of her own for his question. Saying she doesn’t want to drive around on patrol while he is moping around about this girl. He is so offended by her saying this it's so funny. That if he likes this girl he should listen to her. It’s funny all the things she’s telling him to do with Ashley he naturally does with her. Funny old world lol

Tim’s reply back cracks me up. Saying when has he ever moped? That he doesn’t even know how to. Oh but you do my love. You perfect it in S5. While you pine for her while she is still with Chris the putz. But ok sure you don’t know how. His eye roll is so damn funny Eric always crushes it when he does this. Her little Mmhmm as she walks away smirking. Has this man wrapped around her finger. She drives him insane and Tim absolutely loves it.

Tim follows through on Lucy’s advice and listens to Ashley’s fears. Really Lucy extended this relationship when it was destined to fail. But she cares so much about Tim and his happiness she gave him solid advice. This bit made me chuckle. Saying Kojo needs to be bossed around a little to listen. heh. Just like daddy. There's a reason he only listen's to Lucy.

Kojo being just like Tim of course he needs a strong woman to boss him around to listen. I wouldn't call Ashley strong but she got the idea. I mean that scene in the parking garage kinda a parallel to this one in that regard. Doesn’t listen at first then eventually comes around when they're bossed around ha. Not a ton in this ep for them. Solid moments nonetheless. Sadly we are saddled with a Chris and Ashley for a little while. But we get tons of goodies between all that so it helps.

“The Magic Trick You Didn’t See” is an essay written by an author who is on Tumblr, user ariaste. I think it’s a very well put together argument for “The Book of Life Theory” that has merit. However, I think there might be too much editing going on. I will explain.

I want to start this by being completely honest. I’m not sold on any theories because in the past I was so incredibly wrong about countless theories on Game of Thrones that made complete sense, I swear. But also were me just making up reasons for how the story could go my way. I’m actually really into the concept of “wait and see” because it places me firmly in the seat of “audience” or “consumer” and those are, in my opinion, the best seats in the house. 

So I’m not really a subscriber to the coffee theory or the book of life theory or the body switch theory, NOT because I don’t think they’re true or smart or have merit, but because I would genuinely like to “wait and see”. Even if that wait is until 2027. I waited this long for season 2, I’m not afraid of a few years for a good story.

Anyway, go read the very long, but very intelligent google doc, because even if you’re not sure about the theory, it has some REALLY cool meta, and some interesting easter eggs that you might have missed upon viewing the season the first go around, the very long document is HERE.

Alright here’s some highlights. Basically the essay is about how The Metatron could be pulling strings on Season Two with the help of “The Book of Life” for a number of reasons. Corresponding evidence being the lack of God’s narration, Maggie as a character, Eccles Cakes, and a whole lot of meticulous details. I really, really love the format of the essay too, but that’s just me being a nerd about magic tricks and “The Prestige” as a concept and as a movie. 

Where I diverge on this theory is simply how liberally it is applied, as well as the use of “bad” to describe certain ways of writing. And this is where my hot take kind of lies; I don’t think Good Omens 2 was bad. On purpose or by accident. I’m not saying my opinion is right, I’m just stating that that is where my perspective comes from. Now. Let’s get into why I like this essay. 

It’s so cool. And detailed. And smart. I love reading things that connect dots and describe a persons critical thought process, and wow, this essay is incredible at doing all of that. The sheer amount of information I learned from taking the time to read it gave me a lot of insight about the things I missed on my watch of the season. I found I was a lot more distracted by the Austen-esque pacing than the author of the essay who noticed things like disappearing eccles cakes, how no one else’s power went out during Crowley’s lightning storm and a load of other things. But also, being “along for the ride” made me kind of protective of the story being told. Because Season 2 isn’t the beginning, middle, and end of a story, like season 1 was. It is the “quiet, gentle, and romantic” middle of a plot sandwhich.

In any case, the essay poses quite a few things. The only major issue I have is the idea that The Book of Life can alter will, and not just situation. I don’t think Crowley or Aziraphale are changed by the Book of Life. Their actions seem distinctly them throughout the entire season, which is exactly why the season needed to end on the note it did. Obviously from a story point, we need Aziraphale to go to heaven for what I imagine is the conflict of season 3; The Second Coming. But from an internal perspective, Aziraphale’s character demanded to make that decision. It wasn’t out of character, it was distinctly in character. And yes, he could have been influenced, or manipulated, or hiding something, but he’s been affected by all of those ideas for the entirety of his existence anyway. He’s had 6000 years of The Heavenly Host manipulating him, and he’s had exactly 4 years of being on his own side(openly) with Crowley. He’s going to still be susceptible to their tactics, especially if they say exactly what he’s been wanting to hear for his whole existence. “We were wrong, and you were right.” Metatron really pulled out every stop of the proper apology except for the little dance. We were wrong about you, We were wrong about how to run things, We were wrong about Crowley. You can come back and you can bring him and you can fix everything. Crowley refusing isn’t heaven’s fault, they still offered. It’s Crowley who rejected Aziraphale. (For good reason, but that’s not what this meta is about.) So maybe things were changed by the book of life, the analysis on the opening credits is amazing, like great job. But I don’t know if they were. But that’s literally just me holding onto the plot of season 2 and shouting from the top of my lungs, “ITS ACTUALLY GOOD THOUGH BECAUSE I LIKE IT AND WHAT IT SETS UP” And who knows, we might be all wrong and what actually happened is that the whole thing was a very detailed dream that Aziraphale wrote down in one of his journals.

-Like, bro-type affection if that makes sense?? He likes being gentle with you at times of course, and very much cherishes those moments, but there’s something about being able to pick you up and squeeze you tight, or pushing you around then having you giggle because of it that’s special to him.

-Back to those soft moments, he loooves hugs and cuddles, but especially when you two are super close. Like you two can be hugging for an extended amount of time and feel comfortable, then you look up at him and smile (as he melts)

-And it’d just be wrong of him to not give you a kiss right then and there, right?

He had drank more than usual tonight, wanting to celebrate the impressive win you had earlier that day. The celebration had ended almost an hour ago, but the two of you still wanted to spend time together.

“Am I not allowed to admire my pretty boyfriend?~”

It takes a few moments to comprehend and then put together your words, but you can see the way his face heats up. He quickly tries to hide it by hugging you, and nestling in the crook of your neck.

The two of you lay like that for a while, the position being comfortable and warm. You could easily fall asleep on him, but he backs away before you could. His voice is much quieter, and the way he mumbles makes it tough to discern what he’s saying.

“Aye, luv… ye really think I’m pretty?”

Without missing a beat, you carefully bring your hand up to caress his face, and give him a short kiss.

“The prettiest.”

Extra trans male headcanons for the soul:

-If you’re trans, he is the most reassuring and comforting man you’ll meet.

-If you ever feel dysphoric, he’s so quick to shut it down.

-No!! You’re the most handsome, strong, boyest boy he’s ever met. (Yes, that’s something he’s told you.)

-I highly doubt any of the mercs would misgender you, and none of them would ever do it on purpose. But let’s say you did run into some transphobe douche while you’re out and about, I can promise that Demo would have a short fuse. (Pun intended-)

-He’d quickly passive-agressively say that you’re his boyfriend. 

-And if the ass doesn’t get the hint? Well, you won’t have to worry about them for long after they get blown up.

HIIIII okay so I’ve recently found your fanfics a Puss in boots, and I’ve officially become obsessed just the way you write the characters and the Settings that they are in are so good and like the way you enter angst is so good. The one thing I do wanna see though no hate your literally amazing is maybe Puss in the wrong I like dynamic where death realizes he’s wrong for his past action reflects because that is so strong and I love that we love a good redemption, but I would also like to see Puss maybe Being a little too mean or biased, or assuming not out of being mean or wrong, but out of like trauma, his past experiences with dad, have now shaped his choices towards him, and he realizes how much it’s affecting the way he treats him I don’t know I’m just babbling at this point but anyways much love and support. Hi! First off, thank you so much! It fills my heart with joy to hear someone enjoy my work so much 💖 And honestly that’s a route I’ve purposefully avoided going with my fics because I like Puss so much and he did nothing to deserve all the traumatic stuff Death put him through, BUT, that being said, I did actually recently come up with an idea that would fit in with Puss being meaner to him than he deserves now that you bring it up. I doubt I’ll end up actually writing it out since I don’t have the time, but the basic idea is that the reason Death did what he did was because he knew Puss would die if he didn’t step in.

Like, I found out that Death only popped up at times that Puss could very well die (except probably the cave), like when Puss is drinking at the bar after the talk with Dr. Mendez (he could well have drunk himself to death with that “heaviest cream”), when he’s leaving Jack Horner’s with the map and flaming arrows are being shot at him, the battle where Jack is shooting unicorn horns, and the final battle. And maybe he knew the only way to get Puss to truly value his final life instead of relying on more and eventually tearing through those as well, was to teach him what true fear felt like, and challenge him the way he did.

BUT, since Death isn’t actually allowed to interfere to extend lives (going purely by the rules of this fic), and this would fall under that umbrella, he couldn’t make it seems like that was his goal, instead acting like he was insulted and wanted to just torment Puss before killing him out of spite.

THEN he needs Puss’ help with something really important, otherwise bad stuff would happen to a lot of people (like a continent getting destroyed or something, idk, lol), and Puss only agrees after Death signs a pact that he won't hurt Puss or his friends. Now, since Puss isn’t afraid that Death will kill him at the drop of a hat, he feels a lot more free to say whatever he wants, which is usually some kind of jab at Death’s character (like “I’ll handle this one and nicely ask for directions, because I believe that were it up to you you’d probably threaten them at sickle point, since that seems to be how you solve your problems.”, “Yes, we could actually try to win the challenge, but why do that when you can just unfairly overpower them with your godly powers like you did with me?”, “Stand back, you’ll just give them nightmares with nothing more than your stunning personality.” etc) as a way to get back at his tormentor.

Death can’t defend his actions though, as he can’t let Puss know the truth. That he actually really admired and respected Puss (and still does), which is why he stuck his neck out in the first place. And also Death is a nice person in general, and basically just played the part of an evil jerk when dealing with Puss before. So he just takes it.

BUT THEN Puss notices how Death acts throughout their quest/journey (especially when he thinks Puss isn’t looking/paying attention). That he’s actually kind, considerate, and cares about others’ feelings (even something like a bug, helping it by flipping it over when it’s stuck on it’s back, and putting a baby bird back in its nest that got tipped, etc), and tries to figure out how that made any sense at all, considering what he put Puss through just a few weeks prior.

Eventually he does figure it out though (maybe right after the end of the adventure, when everything is resolved), putting Death’s actions through the lens of what seems to be his actual personality and moral compass. When confronting Death about it, Death urges him to stop, to not say what he’s thinking, but he can’t actually stop Puss, and when the words are out in the open Death gets in trouble with the higher powers.

Not wanting Death to be punished for what he did to him, since he now knew why he did it, Puss maybe goes through some trials to get an audience with said higher powers, and works his charms to get Death off the hook. Then they become friends or fall in love or something, the end~

            Tikki rose from her sleep. She stretched and paused seeing Marinette was gone. She flew up and saw only Gimmi curled up on the chaise. She headed towards the door downstairs when Gimmi stirred.

            “What troubles you?” Gimmi asked.

            “I need to find Marinette. She’s missing.”

            “She’s with her mother on the sofa. They fell asleep watching a movie.”

            Tikki flew over to Gimmi. “What happened? Is Marinette ok?”

            “No. Her heart is troubled. Would you help me think of a solution?”

            Tikki tilted her head. “I can, but aren’t you, well, him?”

            Gimmi stared ahead, then looked down. “I’m not quite sure what I am yet and yet there is some understanding that doesn’t make sense. Things I shouldn’t know but do. That sort of thing. And yet I can’t make any sense of it all.”

            Tikki hummed and sat beside Gimmi. “I don’t quite understand, but I’m here to help.”

            Gimmi nodded. She shared the concerns that Marinette had and the burdens that now weighed on her heart. Tikki looked away at the mention of Adrien.

            “This is… worrisome,” Tikki admitted.

            “I was afraid that was the case. What should she do then?”

            Tikki grimaced. “I… I feel like I would say she should push through, create something new from these revelations. Build something new and beautiful from it all, but something feels off. I want her to pursue love, but something just isn’t right.”

            “Is it the boy?”

            “Maybe? But it couldn’t, right? Marinette fought for a year to overcome her anxieties and everything just to win Adrien’s heart. Admittedly some of her methods were questionable, but she should be able to enjoy the reward, right? Surely, she does still love him, and he loves her.”

            Gimmi looked at Tikki, then at the floor. “That feels… wrong. At least, how you worded it. Is it really a reward one should pursue? Isn’t love supposed to be a mutual feeling that both pursue? Did both pursue it?”

            “Well, I mean, yes? It was a whole thing that got really complicated. They didn’t know each other’s identities and it caused a big mess. Chat Noir loved Ladybug, and Marinette loved Adrien. Then after so many rejections and other stuff, it switched around. Then Adrien loved Marinette and Ladybug loved Chat Noir. But even at that point, Marinette wouldn’t herself love Adrien despite him liking her. Then they started dating and there was more nonsense about being able to show affection and… and….”

            Tikki looked at Gimmi, whose face was twisted in utter confusion.

            Tikki chuckled nervously. “Yeah, it was a mess, but that’s love, right?”

            Gimmi’s face returned to a neutral position as she looked at the floor. “That doesn’t feel right either.”

            “What do you mean?”

            Gimmi’s eyebrows knotted. “Well, love is… equal.”

            Tikki gasped silently. She looked at Gimmi and saw a light in Gimmi’s eyes she had seen many times in Velze’s own eyes. She waited with bated breath for Gimmi to continue.

            “Love is… acknowledging your partner, friend, family, anyone. You respect who they are and what they want. You want them to be happy, but also for yourself to be happy. The truest of loves being honest and open. You know everything about the other and hold no judgements or harsh connotations about the other.”

            Tikki watched as Gimmi’s eyes lit up and smiled. She smiled as Gimmi slowly floated up and twirled.

            “Love is accepting the other as we are. We don’t change those we love but embrace their true selves. We don’t take away what they add to this world but lift it up as high as we can. Let the world see what we love and admire so much. Be their wings to help them soar, but also their anchor to keep them grounded and not lose themselves.”

            Tikki’s jaw dropped as lights formed around Gimmi. Gimmi shut her eyes and spun around. The lights shifted between every color of the rainbow and shaped into hearts. Tears welled in Tikki’s eyes seeing some lights flare out of Gimmi like a mane and tail.

            “Love is… freedom. It is letting those you love to be free to live as themselves. To be free to be yourself. Love is setting them free, not keeping them caged. Love is finding happiness for the other, even when they aren’t around. To wish the best for them, no matter where life will take you both.”

            Tikki smiled and flew up. She grabbed Gimmi’s hands and spun around within the light show. Gimmi looked surprised, then smiled with a familiar warmth. She knew it well; it was Velze.

            “Love is unbelievable,” Tikki said.

            “Love is reasonable,” Gimmi continued.

            “Adventurous.”

            “Hesitant.”

            “Peaceful.”

            “Frustrating.”

            “Love is fantastical.”

            “Love is real.”

            Tikki and Gimmi pressed their foreheads together as they laughed.

            “Gimmi?”

            “Yes?”

            “Do you have my memories?” Tikki asked.

            “I don’t.”

            “Then look into them. See what I have over the year and judge for yourself what needs to be done.”

            Gimmi nodded and closed her eyes. She delved into Tikki’s memories of Marinette. She bore witness to the long year Marinette spent obsessing over Adrien, stalking him, keeping him from all potential romantic partners, attempting to stomp out the feelings just to fall again until they were finally together. She watched the mess of them dating with Gabriel keeping them apart, the dysfunction of their communication, and forcing themselves to move at an uncomfortable pace due to their friends.

            The lights faded away. Tikki and Gimmi stopped and openly cried.

            “Is this what she thinks love is?” Gimmi asked.

            Tikki bowed her head. “I’m sorry. I failed.”

            “Not in the way you think. You couldn’t be what you are now. None of you could.”

            “Will you help her as you had with us so long ago?”

            “I… will?”

            Tikki grinned and hugged Gimmi. “Thank you. Thank you for everything.”

            Gimmi furrowed her brow. “You’re welcome?”

            Tikki flew back and bowed. “I’m going to return to Marc. Will you tell Marinette that I’ll see her soon?”

            Gimmi nodded. Tikki nuzzled her, then left. She remained in the room as dawn’s light poured in.

            Gimmi was unsure of what Tikki asked of her. What did Tikki mean “as she had with us so long ago”? Why did Tikki bow and had a sudden shift in compliance? She was certain Tikki would be upset and push back as Ivan had, but it was absent. An uncomfortable feeling rose and consumed her.

            Gimmi flew down to Marinette’s vanity table. She inspected herself in the mirror. A tiny white body, cicada wings, and big sea green eyes. There was no mane, tail, horns, or many eyes. She was herself, she saw it clearly, but the feeling remained. She reached out and touched the glass. Her reflection shifted to that of Velze. She gasped and flew back as her reflection returned to normal. She shook her head and returned to the chaise.

            Gimmi knew who she was. She was Gimmi, kwami of reality and shell of Velze. She wasn’t him. She was him only in concept, nothing more.

If you’re reading this, I wanted to let you know about my thoughts about Nick Nack’s past and thinking about him having PTSD. I’ve been thinking a lot about Nick’s childhood and going through trauma and abuse by his father in your AU. And it kinda got me to psychoanalyze him and theorize what he’s feeling, what he’s afraid of and that he might be going through depression after he and the Handeemen manage to escape from Francis and his mob.

I’m not a therapist or a psychiatrist or psychologist, but I have learned a little bit about how the brain works when people have experienced schizophrenia, PTSD, trauma, etc. from the videos of Therapists reacting to Arcane: League of Legends, talking about Vi’s trauma and Jinx/Powder’s PTSD and schizophrenia. Both Moxxie from Helluva Boss and Hunter from The Owl House were also abused by their parent/guaridan like Nick. It might make sense to mention them having similar situation as Nick did.

This is going to be sad what I’m about to say and long to read, but take the time you need to check it out later and if you have some free time. And let me know your thoughts about this in the comments or reblog. I am curious what you think and I think Nick needs a lot of hugs.

So, after Mortimer and the others escaped from Fracis, Nick probably would be at home blaming himself for getting the others dragged into that situation with Francis and his mob. Obviously he didn’t know that he would see his father again and didn’t know what to do. He thought he got away and never had to go back to the place he grew up in. I feel like Francis’ manipulation has pushed Nick’s sadness to guilt, making him think that it’s Nick’s fault for what happened to his mother and what was about to happen to Mortimer and the others, the way Scar did to his nephew Simba.

If Francis told him things, when he was a child and internalized those messages in his head, Nick would have a hard time challenging them as an adult. He might still carry that guilt and what Francis said to him. He probably would feel like a burden to everyone in their life. Feeling like he carried so much weight on them to stress out and felt like the one who put them in danger. He would even hate himself because he didn’t ask for anything bad to happen to the Handeemen that got dragged into that mess, he didn’t ask to be born, and never asked to be the son of the Mob Boss.

Francis’ words and manipulation would be stuck into Nick’s head, and Nick would be going through depression, fear and probably hallucinate hearing negative words around him and having nightmares and trouble falling asleep. His mother Jancis, was very kind and loving to him, like the light that guides him and there to comfort him. But since Francis took that away from him, he would felt helpless and be treated like a toy or moved around like a pawn on the chessboard.

Nick might be thinking that it’s his fault for his mother to disappear because he is her weakness. Although Jancis does love her son dearly and wanted to protect him, it isn’t true that Nick is the responsible for her disappearance because he was (I assumed when he was eight) just a kid and didn’t do anything wrong to her. It was Francis’ choices that made Jancis disappear. And that affects Nick really badly, causing him to have PTSD, and Francis hitting his own son (like an abusive father he is) makes him never forget those scars and would haunt him forever.

Of course, Nick ran away to start a new life where he can be himself and follow his dream and years later, he found others who truly cared about him and like him the way he is like Valentino, Mortimer and the others. But after meeting Francis, Nick probably felt he does not matter to anyone and is just a problem that dragged others to get hurt because of him. He is sick and tired of being the victim and wants to bury that pain or other negative emotions down in the ground forever, but it gets worse. It really doesn’t help if you keep suppressing your own emotions.

He probably would push everyone away, so that they won’t get hurt again. But he needed to realize that bad things are going to happen to everyone, including the good people. He has people who cared about him, but that scared him the most because he’s afraid that Mortimer and the others will disappear like his mother or be killed or worse and that he can’t do anything but watch it happen right in front of him, and he thinks it’ll be all his fault because he did nothing and let it happen.

Valentino may not understand what Nick is going through or what it feels like to be in his shoes, but they can sympathize that because they were mistreated by someone who treats them like they’re nothing, but a tool or pawn. Before Val opened their own boutique, they used to work with their boss who is a famous fashion designer operating in London.

Valentino was extremely happy that they got the job to work with their idol and create the dresses and suits to show their creations. But after a while working with their idol, Val told Nick that they were getting abused and under so much pressure by their boss. Valentino felt they needed to be perfect around her and keep pleasing her to do what she demanded because they are one of her best designers to create new clothes that are worth selling. She was very manipulative to them and would steal their ideas, and also insulting their appearance. And Val once said to themselves, “If I don’t complain, if I do my best, if I do every simple thing she asks of me, maybe one day she will throw me a bone. Maybe one day, I will gain her enough satisfaction that she will give me the respect and show her gratitude.” Which obviously is not good, and is unhealthy relationship to have with someone.

They worked with her for almost 3 years and it really made Val feel miserable and felt like they haven’t rested since forever. It even made them forget about their family and why they do it in the first place. However, their boss is not just awful to Valentino, she is awful to every fashion designer who works with her and would fire her least favorite designer if she didn’t like what they created.

But after Val met a friend who was very kind and gave them the wisdom they needed to hear, Val was happy that they worked up the courage to quit and say “I deserve better” and walk away from a toxic relationship. After they quit, they felt a lot happy like they haven’t been that happy for so long. Now they get to reconnect with their family and catch up for lost time, they find peace and went to therapy to talk about their emotions they felt working with their idol (well, used to be their idol). Val gives Nick advice to go to see therapy that their old friend could help.

Nick needed to realize it wasn’t his fault for putting the Handeemen in danger and his mother disappearing. He needs to see that he’s not alone and has people who are there to support and care about him. He also needed to be honest and show his vulnerability to himself and others to grow as a person. And have self-acceptance, opening up, and relinquishing his fears to build trust and honesty with others.

I think if Nick will give time to heal, he’ll finally start accepting the past and move on. And maybe he’ll be able to let go and find peace and he’ll be okay despite everything that happened.

It would be interesting to see his character development grow, seeing him standing up to his father, fighting back to protect his loved ones, seeing Riley and Nick working together to escape, and helping others to escape from Francis and his mobs. And maybe it would be cool to see Nick vs Francis if it’s possible. You know, like fight scenes. But knowing that Mortimer’s Handeemen is a kids show, I don’t think they’ll allow that. But if they do, the battles would probably be similar to Muppets as long as it is not dark, not too violent or inappropriate to watch for the kids.

Kaeya wasn’t really used to love or affection either,what he was used to was that love and affection to be immediately ripped away from him.Although as time passed he was proven wrong about that expectation.

Y/N was a happiness that wasn’t taken away from kaeya.He wasn’t used to this at all.He wasn’t used to all this love,He was indeed in love that boy,and that feeling for him was weird as he described it.

In this relationship he was washed with compliments,care and just Y/N’s plain adoration.At the start of that relationship every time he called him pretty,Kaeya would simply stop working,he was completely flustered as someone would say.He was utterly clueless at what to do,and he wasn’t even sure if it was okay the time he did compliment him back to do so.

With every passing moment Kaeya surprised himself, he was afraid having someone that close to him, he was afraid of being unable to be loved and also to love someone himself.Yet he was shown that he was able to be loved and to love.Again he was utterly in love with Y/N and he vowed to himself to show you that everyday as he showed him that.

Although those fears he had,left,at least that’s what he thought,the truth was,they had just became different alternations of those old fears. Now one of them was the thought of losing Y/N,and after him there was no one. What if he was the last one he kissed?What if Y/N was only one he’ll ever miss?

He thought of running away of ending that relationship as he was only 21,he himself hasn’t even planned his future he had no idea of who he wants to become.

No,now he was stuck in this situation,not that he thought of it as a bad thing no not at all,.He was caught in a romance with Y/N somehow and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Though to be honest he still is surprised every time Y/N says an i love you.Even then he never pressured Kaeya to say it back,he gave him as much time as he needed after all he just wanted to show Kaeya that he was safe with him.

It isn’t that Kaeya doesn’t love him back but every time he hears an i love you a shock goes through every bone because now he acknowledges that he’s got someone to lose.

Y/N where the first one to actually have mutual feelings for him,And every-time he thinks about it he feels like he might as well have a heart attack because now he has someone to call his.His partner,His significant other and his boyfriend.

He still couldn’t believe it that Y/N where his and he was Y/N’s.That there was love from both parties.That he feels happiness after such a long time and he feels as if this specific happiness won’t be taken away from him.

‘Kaeya?’

‘Hm?’

‘I love you.’

‘I love you too.’

He smiled seeing him all wide eyed.Just three words whispered and four words whispered back as an answer.This proved his point.He was happy that even just a few words can bring Joy in this relationship,and even though Y/N knew Kaeya loved him without saying those words it was just reassuring in a way to him.

They both knew that neither of them where getting rid of one another any time soon and they didn’t mind it at all.They both welcomed the thought of a future together with open arms.

For now though they are gonna cherish the moments they have together in each other’s embrace.Smiles only for each other and just warm feelings in their hearts.

Yeah he was sure now that he was loved and he was able to love as he not only loved but adored the person he could call his significant other.

I AM VERY NORMAL AND SANE ABOUT JELLY AIB. HERE'S AN ESSAY ABOUT HIM.

I’d like to preface this by saying I’ve already added like 3 paragraphs of text to Jelly’s personality page on the wiki, but I’m not quite done yet with him either. Please hear me out on this.

Jelly as a character may seem very self centered at the surface. Some might even say he’s using Popsicle Stick’s affection for him as an ego booster, but I doubt he ever had any malicious intentions. Only a few times did he act self centered, and I believe there's more a reason behind this than just him wanting attention. In this very long character analysis, I hope to explain Jelly’s motivations, what's wrong with him, and his relationship with PStick and the rest of team 2.

In the 2nd episode during the team 2 icebreakers, Jelly starts introducing himself as Can becomes upset with how this is all going. He brags about being a social butterfly, and drops the iconic line “And before anyone asks… Yes.” This is usually just interpreted as Jelly wanting attention on him, but I think he’s just doing an elaborate bit (he does enjoy attention though I will not lie about that). He notices how poorly this all has been going for Can, and wants to add something silly to lighten the mood a bit, even if that means being a little obnoxious about it. He knows he has the charisma to pull it off. He might’ve dragged on the bit too far though if Bouncy Ball didn’t fly in the last second.

Later on in ep 2 after Sock kicks Jelly in the head, possibly being the reason Jelly went stupid mode instead of it being BB’s fault. During this, I believe he's showing a bit of his “true side”. of course that's debatable, since he’s just received major brain damage, but either way, he becomes less filtered and sillier, just hanging out on the sidelines up until ep 3. PStick seems to be his self-employed caretaker for the time being.

Speaking of PStick, we should address the elephant in the room here. Jelly does seem to genuinely care for her, even if it's hard to tell in his tone in ep 1, he does show many other instances where he likes spending time with her. Unlike her, he’s able to exist alone and work alongside other people, and knows he can still be friends with her and hang out during off hours. When she joined Team 2 and Hailstone pestered her and Jelly about this, he wasn’t hesitant to ask Oodle if it was ok to switch teams. He clearly likes PStick being there, but doesn’t want to upset Hailstone or break the rules either, meaning he’s not completely biased.

Later on, esp in ep 5, Jelly seems a bit startled or worried about PStick being on the team or so attached to him. He’s starting to become uncomfortable, but instead of saying this to her, he hides that fact. He doesn’t want to hurt her, and is especially afraid of conflict. When Hailstone is upset at the fact PStick is on team 2 now, Jelly tries to console her, and understands where she's coming from, but he doesn’t want to directly tell PStick to just leave. At the start of ep 5, Jelly tries to ask Hailstone if she can go ask Oodle to do something about the heat, calling her a “good negotiator” in reference to the conversation they had in ep 4, and also not wanting to confront Oodle himself. He’s possibly afraid of confrontation or upsetting others, always being the guy who gets caught up in conflicts and tries to reach a compromise where both parties are the least unhappy. Him also trusting Hailstone shows he still respects her as his teammate, even if she isn’t a fan of PStick.

I haven’t talked much about his character in ep 3, but there's still some important things to note. He still remains silly in this ep (bababooey). When team 5 ends up disqualifying themselves and Safe is pulled out of the machine, he’s the one to go up to her and tell her it wasn’t her fault they almost lost. TBH the whole team thinks this too, with Can blaming Oodle’s oversights for why they were unable to get Safe out, but that’s not the point here. He does somewhat motivate her to go join them in their little victory party as well.

is sarumi toxic?? genuine question, i dont know if its just the way certain fanmanga that ive read portrays their relationship. i love the ship with my whole heart, dont get me wrong. ive read lost small world, finished rok and season 1 (halfway through season 2). consuming all kinds of k stuff, i personally dont see it toxic as certain people do (knowing that theyve already reconciled). im super confused on who to believe so here i am asking you

I will say to start that I’m not exactly a neutral third party here, even with me being a filthy multishipper Sarumi is still my ‘main’ ship. That said, I personally don’t consider them to be toxic as a ship. There are definitely elements of their relationship as presented that are not good and could certainly lead to toxicity, but that’s also pretty understandable considering Fushimi as a character is not a healthy person and isn’t equipped to deal with relationships in a healthy way. If we look at, say, only season one Sarumi is a vacuum there’s certainly room to call it toxic, with the way Fushimi interacts with Yata by drawing out all his negative feelings and deliberately goading him into physical violence, but thankfully there’s a lot more to their relationship than episode five of season one.

When you consider the side materials the series is pretty clear that Fushimi’s actions stem from him being an abused and neglected child who clung to the one person who ever showed him affection and who has no idea how to handle things that other people would consider easy. When they join Homra and Fushimi doesn’t feel like he fits in he starts to assume a lot of things, that Yata’s leaving him behind, that he’s going to be rejected, because up until he met Yata Fushimi’s entire life has been him being rejected by the world around him and rejecting the world in turn because it’s his only method of coping. When he burns his Homra tattoo in front of Yata it’s a move intended to hurt them both, because the only way Fushimi knows of to break something that he loves is to do it spectacularly — Fushimi himself can’t break what he cares about so he takes on the persona of the person who could, of the guy who can flawlessly destroy what Fushimi Saruhiko loves every time. Fushimi is so afraid of losing his precious friendship with Yata that he feels like he has to be the one to break it first in order to save himself the pain of losing it. This is a toxic mindset but also a totally understandable one in the context of Fushimi’s character. 

Obviously Fushimi’s way of dealing with his emotions is not healthy but he’s not a healthy person, that’s well established. Are a lot of Fushimi’s problems of his own making? Very much so. Does he really owe Yata an apology for being a dick all this time? Also yes. But Fushimi’s actions are also very understandable due to his upbringing, and Yata himself says that Fushimi is trying to be better — “You have a sense of guilt.” Fushimi’s relationship with Niki is a toxic one because Niki is abusing him and literally doesn’t care about the trauma he’s inflicting on his kid. Fushimi on the other hand is well aware of what he’s inflicting and tries very hard not to care, while still not being able to let go of Yata and still occasionally letting his mask slip (how he has difficulty dealing with a grieving Yata post-S1 for example, and how he still helps Yata in Missing Kings) and ultimately, Fushimi knows what he did was wrong and he and Yata start to reconcile. They aren’t a perfect pure and unproblematic uwu ship but I don’t consider them to be toxic just because Fushimi dared to be mentally ill, the Sarumi I ship isn’t the one where they hate each other and where Fushimi’s still constantly cruel to Yata, it’s the one where they make up and recognize their mistakes and Fushimi starts on a healing path that includes recognizing what he did to Yata and in his own fumbling way trying not to do it again even though it’s difficult for him. (And also frankly if someone does like the toxic version of them go for it, you do you. I really hate how people tend to throw around the word ‘toxic’ as some kind of forbidden brand, like if a ship is not perfect and healthy and wondrous it shouldn’t be shipped. Ship your fictional characters any way you want, as long as you tag things properly! Be free of the need to be judged!)

Physical touch. Soda loves hugs and kisses and cuddles and he isn’t ashamed to show it. He can not get enough of loving and holding you. He’s touching you 24/7. He always hangs all over you. You have to accept it or else your relationship just won’t work out.

B =Body (what is their favorite part of your body?)

Soda worships every part of your body, but I see him as a legs kind of guy. He thinks that thighs are very attractive. He doesn’t do feet, though.

C = Cuddling (how do they like to cuddle?)

Soda doesn’t have a specific way to cuddle, he just lays with you and you two end up figuring it out. He loves holding you just as much as he does being held. All we know is that this boy can and would cuddle you to death.

D = Dates (what does their ideal date with you look like?)

He likes being romantic, but not to the point that it gives others second hand embarrassment. He does diner dates and midnight drives. Sometimes you do movie dates on his couch, but it’s normally you watching the movie and him giving you hickeys.

Soda, unlike a lot of greasers, isn’t afraid of emotion. He feels love and anger and sadness like everyone else and he’s grown to accept that. If something in his life is wrong, he’ll tell you. If he feels like something is off about you and it’s scaring him, he’ll tell you.

He won’t, however, talk to you if he’s angry. He’s seen what anger can bring people to do. The last thing he wants is to do something stupid because he’s angry. He pushes you away and gets distant. Anger scares Soda. He isn’t afraid of feeling it, he’s afraid of letting it control him.

F = Family (do they want one? If they do, when?)

Soda wants a family with you. He wants to marry you, he wants kids, and he wants a fuzzy, cute family dog. That’s his ideal life.

G = Gifts (how do they feel about gift giving? What are their habits when it comes to this?)

Whenever Soda has a little extra money on hand he’ll buy you a small gift (like chocolates or something.) Or he’ll have Two-bit steal something for you. Two’s glad to do it to.

H = Holding Hands (when/how do they like to hold hands?)

Soda likes holding your hand, but he feels it isn’t close enough. He’d much rather have an arm around your waist with you tucked into his side. Soda wants to hug and squeeze you. He doesn’t know what personal space is.

I = Injury (how would they act if you got hurt?)

It honestly depends on you.

1)his amount of calm depends on the fatality of the injury. If it’s bad, he’s deadly serious about the situation and silently swears to get back at whoever did it. But if it isn’t bad, he’s quicker to forget about the person who did it and focus on patching you up and cuddling with you.

2)his amount of calm also depends on how calm you are. Soda feeds off energy of others, that’s why he understands people so well. If you’re panicking and scared, so is he. If your shaken up, so is he. He tries to take control and stay calm no matter what, but that isn’t something he’s good at.

J = Jokes (do they like to joke around with or prank you? how?)

Absolutely. He likes joking around because he likes seeing you smile. His pranks are minor because he doesn’t want to upset you, but they still happen.

K = Kisses (how do they like to kiss you?)

Neck and lip kisses are most common. He loves giving you hickeys, no matter where they are. But they’re most common on your neck. But he loves having them even more than you do. He will melt if you kiss him anywhere and give him hickeys.

L = Love (how do they tell you they love you?)

He just tells you. He looks you in the eyes and says “I love you.” Then he kisses you passionately and rests his forehead against your’s. Then he starts laughing for some odd reason.

M = Memento (Are they sentimental? Do they keep reminders of you?)

Soda’s a king at being sentimental. He keeps every single thing you give him and keeps them safe. Soda doesn’t have much, so he feels he’s the luckiest guy on Earth to be chosen by you. He wants to remember that and have something to remind him of you when you can’t see each other.

N = Nightmare (what is their worst fear?)

He’s terrified you’re going to treat him like Sandy did. That girl did him dirty. He loves you so much, he’s just not sure if he’ll be able to handle being abandoned again.

O = Oddity (what is one quirk they have?)

He puts his hand on your thigh every. Single. Time. You two sit next to each other. Even if others can see, even if you’re fighting. It’s a habit and he can’t get out of it.

P = Pet Names (what do they like to call you?)

Baby, doll, honey. Common ones are what he uses. “Doll” is his favorite.

Q = Quality Time (how do they like to spend time with you?)

Cuddling. He’d spend forever holding you, kissing you, feeling your warmth. He likes sleeping next to you and having you against him. I know I’m repeating myself, but that’s just how much he loves cuddles.

Soda swears to never hide anything from you, and begs you to do the same. When you two discussed this, he told you that honesty was what he felt he did wrong with Sandy. Truth is what he wants from you. Always.

Not very long. He was interested in you, so he asked you out. You said yes, and now you’re happy. There, solved.

U = Upset (how do they act when you’re upset?)

He listens and he holds you and he comforts you. He does everything in his power to get you smiling again.

But also, don’t be surprised if you see him producing tears of his own. Like I said, he feeds off the energy of others. If you’re crying, so is he. If you’re worked up, so is he. He can’t help it, he’s a bawl baby.

V = Vaunt (what are they proud of? Do they like to show you off?)

He’s proud to be able to hold you and love you more than anyone else. Soda doesn’t brag about you, though. He doesn’t feel the need to.

W = Wildcard (What’s a random relationship headcanon?)

You two take showers together. Some of the gang members tease you about it and make dirty jokes, but most of the time they’re never sexual. Soda doesn’t get turned on by a naked girl, unlike everyone else. So he can see you completely naked and take a shower with you and wash your back without needing to get anything out of it.

X = X-Ray (how well are they able to read you?)

Better than anyone will ever be able to. He knows when your sad or angry it jealous. He’s so good with people in general and it makes him an even better boyfriend than before, which is very damn good.

Y = Yearn (What makes them miss you?)

Anything you like or don’t like. Music you listen to makes him think of you so hard he can’t think of anything else. If you like thunderstorms, he can’t sleep when one happens. It makes him think of you.

Z = Zeal (what gets them excited?)

Seeing you happy. If you’re excited, so is he. If you’re laughing, so is he. I can’t express this enough;he will feel what you’re feeling, just as much as you’re feeling it.

I’ve been seeing these and decided what the hell? Keep in mind all of these are personal opinions and subjective to change.

Also, keep in mind that while I am in the process of re-reading the manga, I cannot recall every detail off the top of my head, I could be wrong at points. These are just brain dumps, so take everything with a grain of salt.

Also, no order for these.

Adore:

Hizashi Yamada- I really love Hizashi and connect to him on quite a few levels. He’s a super loyal friend and is very intelligent. I like that he’s not all forgiving like the rest of the main cast and is the only one willing to bring up tough issues. I even like that he’s so passive, as it's unique inner conflict for male characters. (Shame we don’t get to see him overcome it, or how much it affects his life.) He’s not a pure ball of sunshine, but he’s a kind cloak of moonlight that I adore.

Aizawa Shouta- I don’t usually like broody boys, but I like quiet ones with an air of mystery and strength. I really like his protective nature as well as his dadzawa moments. He’s also a fun foil to the wild energy around him. It’s also really neat that despite having a cool quirk, Aizawa has to work to overcome his weaknesses by using a creative support item and just working hard.

Toshinori Yagi- Unlike Hizashi, All Might really is a sweet, pure, and genuine ball of sunlight. He is a giant teddy bear that I just want to hug and squeeze. And his scenes with Izuku are the best! I love what Hori did with his character. He’s strong, smart, and an all-around golden boy, but isn’t perfect and makes a lot of mistakes. However, instead of ignoring them he acknowledges his mistakes and uses them to grow and do better. I really love Hori is showing that while All Might can’t be a hero anymore, his life isn’t over and still has meaning.

Tsuyu Asui- My favorite Class 1-A girl. I like that she’s a sweet, friendly girl who is empathetic to those around her, but knows when to use her head. I like that she’s a lawful good character and is willing to call out even her friends for thinking they should break the law and place themselves in danger because of their personal feelings. That being said, she isn’t heartless, far from it. Among the cast, she seems to be the most empathetic right along with Todoroki. (She’s also the one I like the most with Dadzawa.)

Nemuri Kayama- A lot of people are turned off by her “ahem” personality but I don’t mind it. I like female characters who aren’t afraid of their sexual nature—as long as they don’t force it on others. I really like her character in Vigilantes where she’s a sweet woman who tries to help others and is a good friend to Aizawa. I do think she’s underused, however, especially since they decided to kill her off in the main story and try to play it for high drama.

Highly Like:

Izuku Midoriya- I love Izuku! He’s a sweet little angel who deserves better than he gets. The only reason he’s not higher is that he gets pushed to the background as the series goes on. Thus, we’re not allowed to see his internal conflict very often. Plus, the manga completely tossed out a core part of his character arc, which really hurt his development. Despite that, I do like Izuku a lot. I especially like his past with Bakagou. (Not in the way BakaDeku stans do.) I liked the fact he was bullied and hurt, but despite the world being against him, Izuku remained a sweet soul who did everything to protect others. Izuku’s past was a great setup for character development and an arc. Sadly, for whatever reason, we didn’t get to fully explore it.

Toru Hagakure- While I am very fond of Toru, it’s mostly the concept and potential of her character that I like more than anything she does as she’s very underused. That being said, the concept of her character is very appealing to me and I like what little we see of her. She’s a good fanfic character for me. (I want to write a story focusing on her but I have so many plot bunnies! >x<) I’m not too crazy about her ship with Ojiro though. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing bad about it and there are a lot of good things about it, but it gets zero emotions from me. Like, it’s there, but that’s it. I think it’s because even though they’re together they rarely interact. Sorry, this ship just isn't for me.

Knuckle Duster- It’s a shame he left so early as he was a very interesting character. His backstory was interesting and I like that despite not having a quirk or a license he became a hero just to save his daughter. And I like how he handled Stain.

Makoto Tsukauchi- A woman very good at managing things even in emergencies. I love how in control she usually is and how she reins Captain Sunshine in and helps him become a better hero. Plus, her relationship with her brother feels very real. They may be at odds but they still love and respect each other.

Fat Gum- He’s a funny character and I like his interactions with other characters. (Especially Tamaki and the Crab lady.) I really liked him in Vigilantes.

Queen Bee- The bee Quirk was very interesting and I love how it was utilized. It was an awesome concept for a villain and while the manga didn’t go as far as it could, the length it did go was interesting. The idea of using bees to make people lose control of their quirks was interesting. Tamao was—okay, but we don’t get to see her much as a person to judge. Queen Bee is a very scary villain.

Six- Honestly, I think Six would have been a better antagonist for Izuku (more on that—eventually). As is, Six is a cool villain with hella potential. True, he whines at times like Shiggy but he also does stuff and works for what he wants and doesn’t just demand everything. (True, he uses horrible tactics and throws massive tantrums when he fails, but still.) Plus, he just feels more natural and less forced in his actions.

Tenya Ida- I always have fun when I see him. He’s so straightforward, innocent, and hard-working. And I like that he tries to protect Izuku from Bakagou by placing himself between the two often. His serious nature is good for comedy as well. (I especially like him with Mei.) He just reminds me of a little brother who tries to help out by taking care of his family, despite being the youngest.

Ochako Uraraka- She’s cute and I like that she has a sweet connection with her family. Though I’ll admit I like her better before she tried apologizing to Tago in later chapters (I know, I know. Petty.). Like, baby; you did nothing wrong. All you told her was that if she hurt people, she had to be held accountable. And this was AFTER spending hours digging out injured people (and possibly dead bodies). I also love her costume design! I think it's adorable.

Mei Hatsume- Mei is a very fun girl and I love her energy and her passion as an inventor. There’s also something appealing about her ambition and manipulative nature. She wants to be a famed inventor and will use whatever tricks she has to and isn’t ashamed of it.

Inko Midoriya- I love that Inko isn’t a plucky anime girl, but a sweet, shy woman who is kind. And despite not being very strong emotionally or physically, she still called out All Might and U.A. as a whole for her son’s safety. I also like both her chubby and thin design. I think both are equally cute. However, her chubby design is unique as it’s cute, not played for jokes, and her assets aren’t exaggerated. She’s round like an egg and I like that. (She reminds me of a pangolin, though.)

Mirio Togata- He’s a mini-me done right. Unlike Shinsou who is basically diet Aizawa personality wise, Mirio may share traits with All Might, however, he is very much his own person. Mirio is a sweet senpai and I love how he can inspire others. And I’ll admit that his scenes with Eri are so sweet, I can actually stand seeing her when she’s with him. He is a good friend, a good hero, and a great big brother figure.

Tamaki Amajiki- Anxiety-filled, but I like his perception skills, his interactions with others, and how he still tries his best. He’s also just a sweet little elf.

Like:

Detective Tsukauchi- This is all thanks to his vigilante persona, otherwise he’d slip under the radar. He plays the everyday man very well.

Eijiro Kirishima- Eijiro is a sweet ball of sunshine and I like the idea of him turning Bakagou into decent person. (Shame he doesn’t do so, but that’s a topic for another day.) He a genuinely good guy who cares about others. What’s not to like?

Shoto Todoroki- I like his arc and his personality after Izuku helps him, but after that, he pretty much stays the same. However, I hate his hero costumes. He needs a better designer.

Momo Yoayorozu- I like that she’s an intelligent ingenue and they set up a decent arc with her, but it was barely focused on and solved too quickly. That being said she’s sweet and cute.

Neito Monoma- He’s fun and smart. I think he gets too much hatred. Usually, I hate arrogant characters but it works with him as he is always called out and his mean-spirited actions are not only not rewarded, but punished. It also helps that while he’s a bully to Class A, he’s sweet to his classmates. Plus his design is really cute.

All For One- So, he is between like and dislike. I like him because he’s the only one the manga isn’t going, “look I know he did bad things, but you have to understand; he was sad.” Plus, as a villain, he is actually kind of fun. Less so lately, but still. Anyway, I just love cunning villains with an elegant nature and a cocky attitude that makes their defeat all the sweeter. There’s also something else that draws me to him as a villain that I can’t quite identify. (I don’t like his “human” design, however. Dunno why just don’t.)

That being said, I don’t like him currently as he’s one of the reasons the manga is dragging on. Plus, I think that his plan with Shigaraki was overly complicated and kinda pointless. If he wanted to hurt All Might, he should have turned Nana into a Nomu and if he wanted a new body, the doctor could have crafted a specially made body. I dunno, I probably missing something. I know his interest in Shiggy seems to come from Shiggy’s hatred, but he cultivated that. And didn’t Shiggy forget his past before he got his muscle-up makeover? So he didn’t hate anything, he was just teenage angry. And why would AFO let Shiggy forget his past if that’s where most of his anger comes from? Okay, cards on the table I read the chapters focusing on Shiggy once, so I’m probably missing a hell of a lot.

The point being, I think AFO makes things more complicated than he needs to on himself. Still like him better than the rest of the villains.

Neural like:

Nezu- I like what we see and again, he has potential that was unexplored. (He was way too eager to crush his students though.)

Mineta Minoru- Like everyone I hate his perviness and the lack of punishment. (I feel that if you have to have an anime pervert their actions need to be extremely exaggerated and the reactions to those actions should be Tom and Jerry level violence.)

However, I like Mineta’s inner conflict and his personality can be entertaining—again, outside his pervy traits. Personally, I think he had potential to improve and that he’s over-hated.

Mt. Lady- I love her design and how unapologetic she is for fame and I like that she knows when to set her goals aside and help people.

Star and Stripes- We didn’t get to see a lot of her, but I like her concept and wouldn’t mind reading about her in a fanfic where she’s All Might’s adopted daughter and a big sister to Izuku.

Dislike:

Shinsou- Shinsou is a character that is right between irksome and dislike. His personality doesn’t appeal to me as he feels like diet Aizawa with Bakagou’s arrogance and Shoto’s monotone. Plus it REALLY annoys me that canon and fanon try to claim that he was discriminated against for having a villainous quirk, but we never see any proof of that, far from it. Everyone admires Shinsou and his quirk, the only one who gets worshiped more than him is Bakagou. He reminds me of Goob from “Meet the Robinsons.” This might be a result of his high insecurity and that he hates himself so much he can't tell how others really feel, but if that's the case it's not explored enough.

There’s also the fact that fans want to force him into everything with Aizawa and personally, I thought the relationship was okay at best. (This, of course, is petty of me and this is NOT me telling Shinsou fans they shouldn’t do this, it’s just something that annoys me personally.) For more info--search Shinsou critical on my page.

Twice- I feel bad for his past and how he dies, but other than that I do not care about him. And while I’ll probably get hate for this, Twice brought a lot of his troubles on himself. No, he didn’t deserve to be fired or to get a mark on his record, but he didn’t even try to get a job after he was fired. He just went straight to using his clones to commit criminal acts and then treated said clones like slaves till they rebelled. The latter I don’t blame him for as he had no idea each clone was sentient but I do blame him for the criminal acts he committed with his clones before that and all the acts he did with the LoV. Speaking of which, for someone who was supposed to be the heart of the villains but he has zero issues going to a camp to essentially murder children.

Irksome:

Eri- This is through no fault of her own, she just made of a bunch of tropes I hate personally, which summarized are; The overly tragic backstory, the power breaker powers, being forced into the story when there’s no need, no personality outside of being a sad woobie child / broken bird, and the Frozen effect. Again, none of this is her fault, it’s just a bunch of meta tropes I can’t stand and the only thing I like about her is that she has a cute design and her relationship with Mirio. Bakagou- If his writing was handled better I’d actually like Bakagou better, but as is it’s annoying how the manga treats him. He’s an arrogant brat who is never called out for being arrogant, just yells at everybody, and is stated to have the potential to be a hero when all he is is a good brawler and hurts more people than he helps. Plus, he tends to be forced into parts of the story where he’s not needed. And then there’s just the bullshit around him. I don’t care if you’re a Bakustan, you have to admit that the stuff in chapters 364-365 is insane even for a story about superheroes. (Search your feelings, you know this to be true!)

Dabi- I like his design and backstory, but other than that—we go up and down and around. I might feel better about him after I get some space, but for now, I just find him annoying.

Ugh!:

Shigaraki- A boring villain with an annoying personality. Honestly, he should have just been the first boss, then tossed aside in my opinion. Plus, like Eri, he is made up of meta tropes I really, REALLY hate. And, YMMV, his whole involvement in the story feels forced at times. The whole reason he’s the main antagonist is that he’s the grandson of All Might’s mentor which give a (space balls ref) vibe, ya know? Plus, for a guy who a world who wants to do whatever he wants there’s nothing he really seems to want. He has no goals except the ones AFO gives him and no real desires. Tago wants to do whatever she wants as well, but we know what she wants; to be accepted for who she is and drink all the blood she wants regardless of the consent issue or whether she kills someone.

To be fair, I believe that’s the point of his character but still. That all his desires are AFO who is taking him over, but they did that plot better with Six. Again, I believe Six would have been a better villain for the main manga and Shiggy should have been in Vigilantes as ironically Shiggy is a better contrast to Koichi. (More on that eventually.) As is, Shiggy and I don’t click and I find his personality annoying as hell.

Himiko Tago- Again, I feel bad that she never got the quirk therapy she needed but that doesn’t change the fact she is a self-absorbed terrorist who knew her action was wrong but did them anyway. I could forgive the first time she killed as that was a moment of passion after years of suppressing herself, and maybe even the second time, but after thirteen kills, she knew exactly what her actions were doing. Plus, it annoys me that she states that draining people of their blood and becoming them is how she shows she cares. Okay, so then why does she change back? Is there a time limit on her quirk? Plus, she talks about the people she “loves” so I guess her love was flimsy.

But what really sealed the deal was that she was staring at the consequences of her actions, seeing a city destroyed, people injured and dying, and hell, she even lost her friend, and yet her main focus was on herself. Then when she went to Ochako she wanted the poor girl to feel bad for her despite the fact

a) Ochako had spent hours trying to save people who were hurt and dying

b) Togo just her how she used Ochako’s quirk to murder someone

c)TAGO WAS PART OF THE REASON PEOPLE WERE HURT AND DYING!!

And yet despite All that, Ochako wasn’t even trying to hurt her! She called Tago out for her deeds and told her she had to accept the consequences of what she did. How fucking dare she?

Overhaul- I’ll keep it short as I don’t want to talk about him. I hated what he did to Eri and wish she rewound him out of existence. The only thing I liked about him was that he managed to knock Shiggy down a peg (before he lost his arms to him). Then when he came back, he was just pathetic. All in all, I hate him. End of story.
