Earth Angel Sits On A Throne
My contribution to @crowleys-bentley-and-plants bible blackout challenge.
Tumblr media
There was a Throne in Heaven Sitting on a rainbow The Throne came.
Ass in the center, in front, and in back
Day and night They never stop to come
Sit down before him and say: "Open to me."
He came when he had taken it and the Earth Angel sits on the Throne and fell down and worshiped
*For the purposes of this nonsense, Crowley was a Throne.

Royalty AU: Heartslabyul, Savanaclaw, and Octavinelle
This is going to provide a bit more lore for the au, as well as providing some information about what the rest of the boys are doing in this world!
Start Here
Your Kingdom:
-Your kingdom is known as the Kingdom of Sages, and its capital is the city of Ramshackle. As the heir to the throne, you reside in Night Raven Castle, along with your staff. You have Crowley, your tutor and advisor. Master Crewel is your personal healer. Trein is the steward of the castle. Sam is the castle's quartermaster, and Captain Vargas is the leader of your Royal Guard. There are also more maids, butlers, and cooks than you can count. Your parents also reside within the castle, but you don't often see them, due to their royal duties.
Heartslabyul:
Riddle:
-The Rosehearts manage the Heartslabyul march, which is a fairly large patch of land on the borders of your kingdom. However, only Marquess Rosehearts actually lives in the march. Marchioness Rosehearts and Riddle both reside in a rather lavish estate in Ramshackle. The family's investments in medical research have made them more wealthy than most others of their class, and plenty of nobles despise them for it.
-Riddle's mother is still extremely strict with him, but her motivations are a bit different here. The marchioness is fairly power hungry, and she wants social status more than anything. Thus, she's been raising Riddle to be the most suitable candidate for your hand in marriage. If you choose him, then she'll be the mother of your king consort, and that grants her more social standing than the rest of the aristocracy. Riddle, for what it's worth, is hesitant to actually court you because of that. He's aware of what she's like, and he doesn't want to subject you to her whims.
Trey:
-He's recently taken over for the Four Leaf Bakery, which is the most popular sweet shop in Ramshackle. His mother, father, and siblings are still helping out, but his parents are trying to make sure that he knows how to run things properly before they get too old. Trey likes to think that people come to the bakery because of how good his treats taste, but honestly, people also come to see him. He's polite, hard working, and sweeter than a slice of his bakery's famous strawberry tarts. Swing by the shop, won't you? He'll make sure to whip up your favorites.
Cater:
-Cater works for the capital's best selling newspaper, the Ramshackle Gazette. He's always busy writing new articles, and interviewing people. Pretty much everyone recognizes his charming smile, and his news stories are always plastered on the front page. Secretly, he finds all the running around to be more than a little tiring, but he wouldn't trade his job for the world. You've spotted him prowling around the gates of your castle recently, hoping to snag an exclusive interview with you. After all, putting your words to paper will make him even more popular.
Ace:
-Ace works as a delivery boy, making sure people receive their packages and other sundries. He's often paired up with Deuce, who works for the same company. Ace ends up running around all over the capital, and he usually complains about having to do so. Honestly though, he's not sure what he'd rather do in life. He enjoys doing little magic shows, but being a street busker isn't a steady job, and his mother would yell at him for doing it. One day, he might figure out his life's purpose. But that day isn't today, he thinks, as yet another bundle of mail is shoved into his hands.
Deuce:
-He also works as a delivery boy, but he gets a few more benefits, since his mother is the one who runs the office. Unlike Ace, Deuce does like the job. He gets to wander all over the city, and meet interesting people. But he wants to be a knight, deep down inside. He grew up hearing stories about valiant knights protecting delicate princesses, and he's been enamored with the idea ever since. Still, his mother always says he should keep his head out of the clouds. So he'll work hard to make her happy.
Savanaclaw:
Leona:
-He's still the second prince of Sunset Savannah, and he still resents his place in life. However, Falena is doing what he can to further diminish Leona's political power by planting rumors and stirring up their citizens. Leona is intelligent, bitter, and ambitious. Three traits that make him a rival for the throne, despite the birth of Falena's son, Cheka. The best way to get rid of Leona is to marry him off to someone outside of their country, where he won't pose as much of a problem. Falena doesn't quite like the idea of Leona becoming your king consort, but it's better than letting him continue to stay. Besides, if you marry his brother, then your country will be more open to diplomacy, and trade. And that's what's driving Falena to push Leona your way.
-As for Leona himself, he's heard about your search, but he isn't all that interested in going to see you. He's not keen on the idea of actually courting you, because he's aware of what Falena is attempting to do. Besides, he doesn't want to end up playing second fiddle to a spouse that won't take his advice, or let him rule beside them. Although, he has to admit that he's a bit curious as to what you're actually like. And who knows? Play your cards right, and you might just be able to snag his full attention.
Ruggie:
-Cleaning, cooking, washing clothes, scrubbing floors, he does it all. Ruggie is a personal attendant for Leona, and that means doing whatever the prince demands of him. It's tough, and he almost never has time for a break, but it's not all bad. Normally, Leona would have a small fleet of servants, but thanks to Falena's efforts, Ruggie is pretty much his only servant. Despite that, Ruggie is proud to serve Leona. The prince pays well enough for Ruggie to feed his family, and that's what matters most. And, if Leona marries you, hopefully the man will remember who actually took care of him.
Jack:
-Jack serves as a personal guard for Leona. Admittedly, Jack isn't sure how he ended up being the one to guard the prince. Protecting the royal family is usually a task only given to the very best of the royal guards, but Jack is still a fresh faced recruit. Still, he takes his job very seriously. He's never too far from Leona, and he's constantly scanning his surroundings. Once he hears the news about your search, his mind instantly goes to his prince. He sincerely hopes that, if you marry Leona, you'll let him continue to protect the man who's earned his steadfast loyalty.
Octavinelle:
Azul:
-His mother owns what is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, one of the most famous restaurants in your kingdom. Even your own parents have been there, and loved every dish she presented. Azul, however, wasn't satisfied with just helping her run the family business. He set his sights higher, and managed to open his information agency with the help of the Leech family. It's worth knowing that, despite Azul's wealth and connections, his reputation isn't the best. Sure, he always delivers exactly what you asked for, but many people have figured out firsthand why you should always read the fine print.
-As for his reasons for courting you, he claims that it's all about the power he'll gain from winning your hand. And he's not exactly lying about that. But he's also a romantic, deep down. He's always wanted a fairytale romance, and he sees the opportunity to have that with you. He sighs, already dreaming about the tales people will tell about how the heir to the throne fell deeply in love with a common octopus mer. Floyd and Jade are already teasing him for how often he's practiced writing "King Consort Azul" on the margins of his papers.
Jade:
-Jade is one half of Azul's "eyes and ears." Literally. When they first started helping Azul with the Octavinelle Agency, the twins struck a deal with Azul. Now, Azul is capable of seeing and hearing the same things as them, to an extent. As for your search for a husband, he's extremely curious to see who you'll select. After all, it might be fun for him and his brother to have royal backing for their antics. Or, it might be even more amusing to watch you fall for someone else, and crush Azul's hopes and dreams.
Floyd:
-Right now, he's bouncing between eagerly listening for news on your search, and getting irritated at you because it's all anyone's talking about. Honestly, it's so much fuss! He sometimes entertains the idea of trying to woo you himself, just to see the looks on everyone's faces. But Azul's quick to remind him that meeting you is going to be a big deal, so he needs to be on his best behavior. That sounds so boring! He'd rather see how cute you'd look if he gave you a little squeeze. You won't mind, right?

in season 1 crowley kept the agnus nutter prophecy book as a souvenir when the bookshop burned down, which made me think about what he might take now.
while the 1941 polaroid is certainly an option (assuming he doesn't already have it or aziraphale took it) i have come to the conclusion that he would take the little horse statue that he used for his glasses.
every single time he entered the bookshop, he took off his shades and kept them there until he had to leave again. it represents his vulnerability, the trust he had in aziraphale, how safe he felt in his, hell, in their home.
all of which is now gone, torn down by angry words and pointless gestures.
so he takes it, it no longer has a purpose, after all, and he returns to an empty flat with empty walls and leaves it right in the middle of his desk. every time he cannot sleep or wakes from one horrible nightmare or another, he curls up in what has never been a throne but a cage, looks at it, and yearns for a different time.
a better time.
crowley watches with shining yellow eyes hidden behind tinted glass because his flat, earth, is no longer a place to be vulnerable, it isn't much of anything.
not without aziraphale.

Anyone else had new thoughts on who Crowley was before the ‘fall’ since Season 2 aired…
I know the Raphael theory is still knocking about (actually had a weird epiphany regarding this last night so more of that later) but I think Crowley was an entirely different angel.
From Season 2 we now know he was a very powerful angel indeed (dominion, throne or greater) thanks to his classified document clearance in heaven, but also because of the seriously powerful miracle he and Aziraphale cooked up with very minimal effort.
After an initial idea and since doing some research, I’m leaning towards him being Samael, Angel of Death.
Now I don’t mean Samael as in the one who becomes Lucifer - there are many texts that see these as two separate entities, with Lucifer falling thanks to his pride and Samael… well did he even fall at all?
Samael is one of the Angels of Creation alongside Orifiel, Anael, Zachariah, Raphael, Gabriel and Michael. In Season 2 in episode 1 we see Crowley as an Angel playing a pretty big part in the creation of the cosmos, in collaboration with others.
Samael is the ruler of the Fifth Heaven, which happens to be Earth.
Samael is known as the “Venom of God” and is executioner of death sentences as decreed by God. He is the accuser, seducer and destroyer. As a seducer, Samael tempts humans into committing evil deeds. Through Samael, God tests humanity and the Archangel draws out the sinful and unrepentant, then God judges then and Samael destroys them.
In seducing humanity into acts of evil, Samael is just doing his job. He is both good and evil and is highly loyal to God’s word, doing his bidding without question - he mostly destroys sinners.
Samael is also the one who planted the Tree of Knowledge in the garden of Eden to tempt Adam. God however forbade Adam to touch it and punished Samael by banishing him. In retaliation, Samael took the form of the serpent and tempted Eve to eat the fruit from the tree.
When Abraham’s faith was tested by God and commanded to sacrifice his son Isaac, it was Samael who whispered in his ear to disobey.
So where does Crowley fit into this then? Well Samael hasn’t exactly ‘fallen’ from heaven, his angelic role took him down to Earth, performing deeds considered demonic and evil and his refusal to bow down to God’s creation led to his banishment. You could say he ‘sauntered vaguely down’?
We know from Season 1 that Crowley was the serpent that tempted Eve so he fits into the Samael theory there.
In Season 2 we see that Crowley had a ‘permit’ from God to destroy Job’s children and possessions to test his faith in God.
In Season 1, Crowley talks to God and says “I know you’re testing them, you said you were going to be testing them. But you shouldn’t test them to destruction. Not to the end of the world.”
So whilst Samael is an Angel, he very much has the role and characteristics of a demon and can be described as a fugitive or wanderer.
Regarding Samael planting the Tree of Knowledge, who else do we know with a bit of a plant fetish?!
Tumblr media
Some other fun facts: Samael has red hair, and is associated with the planet Mars. He is also associated with the left side, the North and Tuesday.
It’s also said that Samael’s name shouldn’t be spoken aloud so as not to draw his attention - is this why Crowley chose a different name and doesn’t introduce himself to Aziraphale at the Horsehead nebula?
——————————————-
So here’s the slightly scary part and if Crowley actually was/is Samael…
In the Second Coming (as was mentioned as Heavens next focus at the end of season 2) the messiah is supposed to deliver everyone from death and everyone will be resurrected. But he’ll do more than bring life, he’s supposed to bring an end to death itself, including the very concept of it. Without the finality of destruction, the Angel of Death (Samael) serves no purpose and is himself, annihilated. Thus, with death undone, Samael becomes the Anti-Christ.
Could season 3 see Aziraphale finally forced to make a choice between heaven and the one he loves?

About Raphael, Crowley and Aziraphale
I'm very bored at work so I dove into Wikipedia and read some articles about Archangels and the like. I guess there are a lot of people who dove deeper into it and who are way more eloquent than me. However this is what I found. Maybe it's just too obvious, I don't know.
A lot of people believe that Crowley was Raphael as an angel. He was, what we know from S 2, at least a Throne or Dominion. According to Wikipedia Dominions were held to govern the movement of stars, planets and other celestial objects. So I believe he was that.
As for Raphael. I was always a bit confused that he hadn't shown up in GO yet along with the other Archangels (I'm alway surprised how much of my catholic upbringing is still hidden somewhere in my mind).
So I looked him up and Raphael goes by the name Azariah in Tobit. When I read that I went "Huh."
Tumblr media
RAPHAEL
AZARIAH
AZIRAPHALE
I remember thinking, when I read Good Omens for the the first time, that Aziraphale was a weird name and why he wasn't called Raphael. There was the implication in my head that he was Raphael, but they didn't want to use his name for whatever reason (probably because possible outrage from the church or something is what I thought).
Also Raphael is supposed to blow the trump at the Day of Judgement. AKA The Second Coming.
Remember what the Metatron said?
He couldn’t think of a better angel to set into motion the next step in the grand plan and he needed one with his talents to direct it and familiar with how they do things on Earth?
Well.
I'm of the firm belief that Aziraphale is going to be Raphael. Maybe not in name, but in function. Who knows, maybe they even change is name short-term for that purpose?
Take it or leave it. But it's interesting to think about.
Edit: I completely forgot. In the german version of Good Omens Aziraphale is called "Erziraphael". The "Erz" is the german word for "arch" as in Archangel. So Erzengel = Archangel.
Now this doesn't necessarily have to mean anything. Names in books were often changed in the 90s in german translations (see Harry Potter), but it still striked me as odd, that they chose that name. I mean yes, Aziraphale is difficult to pronounce for the average german, but why didn't they just change it to "Asirafell"? (the SI here is pronounced like ZI in english). It would almost be the same, especially since he does go by Mr. Fell anyways.
I mean probably they just chose a name that was somewhat familiar. People know Erzengel and they know a Raphael, so they might just have bunched that together and went with it, but still.

"and i am CONVINCED that it was azazel scheming to put someone else on the throne of hell to BLOCK lucifer’s ascension from the cage" literally stopped and stared bc i've never heard this one before, can you please elaborate
oh yes! i love this theory! be prepared for a LONG ANSWER
so basically imo the boyking and lucifer’s vessel arcs don’t entirely mesh. why go through all the trouble of creating all the special children and having them compete when sam is the one who HAS to be lucifer’s vessel? what’s the point of creating a monarch who is powerful enough and motivated to rule hell in their own right if they’re just gonna be possessed by lucifer? and why still be feeding babies demon blood in series 1? we know lucifer told azazel to find a child, to find his vessel, but having that child rule hell as the demons were expecting per the boyking comment doesn’t make sense. why would the winner of azazel’s contest ever give up their power and their BODY to be lucifer’s puppet? it doesn’t make sense
so, what does? (or at least is fun and interesting to think about)
i’ve always though demons as a whole should have been more conniving. the hell politics we got were always too simplistic. where are the SCHEMES. surely crowley wasn’t the only one who realised that lucifer had an even lower opinion of demons than of humanity and didn’t want him ruling?
azazel knew lucifer personally, was created by lucifer personally. he knows exactly what lucifer is like, so why wouldn’t he have an accurate understanding of how fucked demonkind would be if lucifer came back and the apocalypse started? also, he’s running hell, why would he want to give up that power? but he’d also want plausible deniability, both so he could control the demons who still support lucifer (like lilith and his own daughter meg!) and also on the off chance he failed and lucifer did rise
which leads us to the special children. this is where i get more into the realm of headcanon in terms of what hell is actually like, but i still think it tracks with the show. the descriptions of hell and the visuals of hell we get are all wildly different. crowley’s queue, dean’s pit, sam’s medieval dungeon, meg’s bone and blood and pain. they’re different enough that i think hell changes based in your perception. either to what will make you suffer the most (dean and meg), or if you’re powerful enough what you tell it to be (crowley very much on purpose, sam subconsciously. he created hell into somewhere he could relatively easily rescue bobby from)
all this to say that hell is a living thing. it can accept or reject a ruler, and the more accepted they are the harder it is for a ruler to be deposed. if they’re integrated with hell enough they simply can’t be. lucifer as the creator of demonkind and original ruler should be the best fit and the most accepted, but lucifer doesn’t want hell, he’ll always resent being there instead of heaven, so hell will never completely accept him. and a demon will never truly be accepted either, because they’re not lucifer and they’re not an angel, so they’re not enough like him to be a fully effective substitute
but a human with demon blood? they’re closer to the divine than a demon, but they don’t know heaven to long for it. there’s every possibility that hell would accept that special child more than azazel and more than lucifer, and because that child has the full power and support of the creature that is hell they might be able to hold the cage closed even with lilith’s death, or simply stop lucifer from taking power in hell once he’s risen, or even outright kill lucifer
so with that in mind, of course sam is the favourite. azazel is gambling here so he’s keeping his options open with multiple candidates, but lucifer’s true vessel is always gonna have the best chance of being accepted by hell and taking lucifer’s place. as long as he can control sam he’s coming up roses
but then azazel dies, and i don't see him trusting his true plans and motivations to any other demon, so they all just play out the apocalypse like they thought they were supposed to from the start. except for the crowleys (and in my headcanon ruby but that’s a question for when i finally finish and publish kindred instruments rip) who are smart enough to figure out that lucifer views them as vaguely useful cockroaches
obviously this is a watsonian answer to a doylist question, but i always find those the most fun anyway

“The Magic Trick You Didn’t See” is an essay written by an author who is on Tumblr, user ariaste. I think it’s a very well put together argument for “The Book of Life Theory” that has merit. However, I think there might be too much editing going on. I will explain.
I want to start this by being completely honest. I’m not sold on any theories because in the past I was so incredibly wrong about countless theories on Game of Thrones that made complete sense, I swear. But also were me just making up reasons for how the story could go my way. I’m actually really into the concept of “wait and see” because it places me firmly in the seat of “audience” or “consumer” and those are, in my opinion, the best seats in the house.
So I’m not really a subscriber to the coffee theory or the book of life theory or the body switch theory, NOT because I don’t think they’re true or smart or have merit, but because I would genuinely like to “wait and see”. Even if that wait is until 2027. I waited this long for season 2, I’m not afraid of a few years for a good story.
Anyway, go read the very long, but very intelligent google doc, because even if you’re not sure about the theory, it has some REALLY cool meta, and some interesting easter eggs that you might have missed upon viewing the season the first go around, the very long document is HERE.
Alright here’s some highlights. Basically the essay is about how The Metatron could be pulling strings on Season Two with the help of “The Book of Life” for a number of reasons. Corresponding evidence being the lack of God’s narration, Maggie as a character, Eccles Cakes, and a whole lot of meticulous details. I really, really love the format of the essay too, but that’s just me being a nerd about magic tricks and “The Prestige” as a concept and as a movie.
Where I diverge on this theory is simply how liberally it is applied, as well as the use of “bad” to describe certain ways of writing. And this is where my hot take kind of lies; I don’t think Good Omens 2 was bad. On purpose or by accident. I’m not saying my opinion is right, I’m just stating that that is where my perspective comes from. Now. Let’s get into why I like this essay.
It’s so cool. And detailed. And smart. I love reading things that connect dots and describe a persons critical thought process, and wow, this essay is incredible at doing all of that. The sheer amount of information I learned from taking the time to read it gave me a lot of insight about the things I missed on my watch of the season. I found I was a lot more distracted by the Austen-esque pacing than the author of the essay who noticed things like disappearing eccles cakes, how no one else’s power went out during Crowley’s lightning storm and a load of other things. But also, being “along for the ride” made me kind of protective of the story being told. Because Season 2 isn’t the beginning, middle, and end of a story, like season 1 was. It is the “quiet, gentle, and romantic” middle of a plot sandwhich.
In any case, the essay poses quite a few things. The only major issue I have is the idea that The Book of Life can alter will, and not just situation. I don’t think Crowley or Aziraphale are changed by the Book of Life. Their actions seem distinctly them throughout the entire season, which is exactly why the season needed to end on the note it did. Obviously from a story point, we need Aziraphale to go to heaven for what I imagine is the conflict of season 3; The Second Coming. But from an internal perspective, Aziraphale’s character demanded to make that decision. It wasn’t out of character, it was distinctly in character. And yes, he could have been influenced, or manipulated, or hiding something, but he’s been affected by all of those ideas for the entirety of his existence anyway. He’s had 6000 years of The Heavenly Host manipulating him, and he’s had exactly 4 years of being on his own side(openly) with Crowley. He’s going to still be susceptible to their tactics, especially if they say exactly what he’s been wanting to hear for his whole existence. “We were wrong, and you were right.” Metatron really pulled out every stop of the proper apology except for the little dance. We were wrong about you, We were wrong about how to run things, We were wrong about Crowley. You can come back and you can bring him and you can fix everything. Crowley refusing isn’t heaven’s fault, they still offered. It’s Crowley who rejected Aziraphale. (For good reason, but that’s not what this meta is about.) I made a post about Crowley and his relationship to forgiveness HERE, if you were interested.
So maybe things were changed by the book of life, the analysis on the opening credits is amazing, like great job. But I don’t know if they were. But that’s literally just me holding onto the plot of season 2 and shouting from the top of my lungs, “ITS ACTUALLY GOOD THOUGH BECAUSE I LIKE IT AND WHAT IT SETS UP” And who knows, we might be all wrong and what actually happened is that the whole thing was a very detailed dream that Aziraphale wrote down in one of his journals.

@theshamelesshussy with discussing how Aziraphale views himself and Crowley, and especially Aziraphale's "holier than thou" attitude, I was reminded of one of the characters we've seen this season -- Crowley's parallels to Job!
We know that Job is incredibly virtuous, praising of God, so on and so forth. We know it is incredibly well known that Job is God's favorite human being. And then She goes on to allow him to be tortured.
It's never said how God feels about Crowley, but I know a fan-favorite theory is that he was/is Her favorite. He talks directly to God, no hesitation, no summoning circles, just him being incredibly open and angry and vulnerable and challenging God from his throne on Earth.
And I feel like, before the fall, Crowley has more of a pure vision of God than even Aziraphale does. He cannot comprehend the idea of getting into trouble for putting in a suggestion to the upstairs. Perhaps he is used to having his opinion listened to. Where Aziraphale feared God, Crowley only ever believed She would listen. Him making suggestions is how he shows his devotion, because that's what HE would want if HE was the Creator.
What happened after is unclear. He was IN the war, he fought alongside Furfur (though apparently Furfur is known for lying, so maybe Crowley's "I don't remember you" wasn't just him being purposely dismissive). Anyway, Neil has suggested Crowley is an unreliable narrator, and I definitely think he had more to do with the rebellion than he let on.
But what made me think about Job and the parallels with Crowley/Aziraphale, is the fact that Job himself thinks he has done some great evil to deserve all this. It's not shown in the episode, but one of the things that struck me as I was reading about Job was that all of his friends had assumed Job had done something wicked to deserve all this. No one can reconcile their image of God with the fact that God just decided to do this to one of Her most devoted followers to win a bet.
And that reminded me so much of Aziraphale and Crowley. Chiefly, Aziraphale on the wall reasoning that whatever Crowley did must be bad, because Crowley is a demon, and demons do bad things, that's why they're demons. God doesn't just decide to torture the innocent! ... Until She does.
From the beginning, Aziraphale's conscious idea of good and evil is based in the institution of Heaven, and the idea that if you were good then you stayed in Heaven and if you were bad you went to Hell. Likewise, if you're good you will be rewarded, and if you're bad you will be punished. Ergo, if you are being punished, you must be bad. This is a very black and white view that Aziraphale has, despite even witnessing the treatment of Job, because at the end of this episode he breaks down about having to go to Hell now that he's lied directly to the faces of his superiors.
Deep down, Aziraphale KNOWS that Heaven is not synonymous with good, and that causes so much inner turmoil and cognitive dissonance. He gives away the sword because he knows that Eve is pregnant and it's cold out there and Adam and Eve will die if they don't have anything to protect themselves -- which is proven when Adam immediately has to fight a lion. We see Crowley push him again and again towards not just seeing this truth, but internalizing it. He is finally ready to accept this by the time the apocalypse comes around, and he realizes that no one will stop the apocalypse, and he is willing to fight alongside Crowley to prevent it from happening. I just don't think he's fully let go by the end of S2.
But this is about Crowley's parallels with Job.
This is where it gets interesting, because Aziraphale witnessed firsthand how one could be punished without doing anything wrong. He ALSO witnessed Heaven rewarding Job in the end with everything he had, two times over (though the part with the kids would have hardly been a reward) because punishment was used as a test. I almost wonder if this is what he grapples with when it comes to Crowley -- the dual ideas that punishment is for the wicked, while also realizing punishment can be a test for the good.
Which, by the way, is I think part of the toxicity of Heaven and Hell: the idea that anyone is wholly one or the other, and that one has to either be purely virtuous or else totally evil.
But that last bit reminds me of another HC that I have: God is testing everyone all the time. Maybe experimenting.
Like, in the garden -- I theorized once that the apple tree wasn't a test for the humans, it was a test for Crowley. It was asking him the question: now that you know what evil is, now that you have fallen from the grace and purity of Heaven, will you do the same to the humans? Was your freedom from Heaven worth the fall?
Job seems like it could be another test -- now that you've had everything taken away from you, will you do the same to an innocent human? Will you take away everything they love? Will you hurt another in the way that you've been hurt even though they've done nothing wrong?
And with the antichrist, well -- Crowley himself questions at the end if what happened was what God meant to happen all along. Which makes me wonder if it was another test, for humanity, for Crowley, for Aziraphale.
What I find interesting is that Crowley asked questions, and he fell because of it.
Job asked questions, and God rewarded him after it.
Interesting parallels indeed that I would love if someone else expanded on.

I know some of you waiting for my blot theory part 2 but i still trying to think through this theory to even get the whole question and evidence that did make me question it in the first place. So before that help yourself with this new theory that i just found out accidentally
Now i found the recent meleanor pic having different face that spread around twitter. While i found some of this very fit in character, there's one that make me question about something and remember about one theory that once spread in here.
What kind of theory you said?
It's still about crowley is levan theory but this include Pomefiore in the theory. I forgot what the name is but the main conclusion of it is
Crowley see meleanor in Vil
You may ask, why suddenly i remember this? Well look at this meleanor pic
Tumblr media
This one is the expression that make me question if the theory is actually true or not. Malleus smug face isn't very similar
Tumblr media
You can see that his smug face didn't really look like her
"BUT HIS EYEBROWS ISN'T THE SAME AS MELEANOR WHEN HE SHOW HIS SMUG FACE!"
My point here is that despite they look the same when they have other expressions, they have different expressions here.
And who also have the same look with meleanor when they smug? VIL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you look here they genuine look the same. This make me thinking that theory of crowley/levan sees meleanor inside Vil is true.
I forgot all the points of the theory but the theory is around how Crowley for some reason show very favoritism with pome, purpose or not purpose and how he like watching Vil more than others despite the others higher social statues.
The very known one when Crowley have connections with pome is when we see him in the last second of twst op, we see him sitting in a peacock throne, and whose dorm that have peacock dorm? Pomefiore
There's also Vil's line that he feel that someone's is looking at him, and this line only played when they have special lesson a.k.a lesson where Crowley flying in the class. There's also a compared theme of pome dorm and the theme we got in ch 7 that feel very similar but not at the same time, which make you question if this is on purpose or not, but at the same time i can't help to think there's foreshadowing here.
Knowing that we did not known anything of Crowley beside him being useless headmaster, make this fairly suspicious as well. Even if he actually a fae or half-fae we don't know, but he always as if very bold on showing his pome favoritism.
Also both Vil and Mal surprisingly have a lot of hidden detail similarity that everyone didn't realize. Both of them um is around "blessing" and "curse" and if you remember what Vil said in ch 6, both blessing and curse is one of the same coin, just how you use it or how you interpret it can change it, like for example immortality. You can see immortality as blessing and curse, just how you interpret it can change how it viewed(whether you happy to live long or angry because you will see everyone you love die before you. It's a matter of perspectives).
Both of them are one of the dorm that show their dorm throne openly even in game(riddle have it but he never show it in game, only in manga(idk the novel))
Both of them is feared and avoided for reason(Vil still have his supermodel status so he got people flocking, but if not he can be very well secluded from others from what we heard when we heard about how Vil and Rook meet)
Both of their gems stone have red dot in it when it was their time to overblot, unlike others if you see here.
Vil's and mal's gem stone:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Azul and leona gemstone(the other is exactly the same):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It show that unlike others, theirs may actually hurting in different way. It can be also because both of them having "blessing" and "curse" um unlike others. At the same time knowing that Malleus has "blessing" while Vil have "curse" may also foreshadowing Vil's being important in future.
The foreshadowing here may relate to none other than meleanor. Either he will help Malleus to get Meleanor back(if the dark mirror is Meleanor theory is true) or he will need curse or blessing to help Meleanor back, for example-
-using his own body to put Meleanor back
I have seen this one idea where Crowley used Vil's body to put grimhilde's soul in Vil's body. What if Crowley have some similar idea but with meleanor? He will put curse or blessing on Vil so Meleanor soul can go back to the world, or Malleus using his magic to save Vil from Crowley or Meleanor soul that was called upon.
Or while this can be very.....bs to you guys, but what if this is like those isekai theme where you reincarnated as someone and remember your past self because of something? But it's the type that reincarnated from his past self that are in the same world, so you died in XXX9 for example and reincarnated in X1X9 but still in the same world. What if Crowley think Meleanor reincarnated as Vil and he tried to do everything to make him remember as Meleanor? And maybe the reason he can't remember is because of a curse or something?
And some of you may also asked about lilia. I have a feeling he know and realized that Vil also look like Meleanor, but maybe unlike Crowley/Levan, he only think that Vil just look like her as coincidence. Lilia is the one who can go to Vil nore often than Crowley/Levan without needing any reason and he never do anything. Either he only have speculation or he only see Vil as Meleanor look alike(meaning he only see Vil just have similar look like Meleanor, like those there's 7 people that look the same thing)
While it didn't talked often before, after ch 5 we got a lot of talking about "blessing" and "curse" to make this coincidental. It's as if they tried to foreshadow that in the end, we will get to unfold about a curse and blessing that surround the main cast or even the world itself before "Yuu" can go back(maybe they also got cursed so they can't go back if they didn’t help the main cast first).

Timeline of Suspicious Events Brain Dump - PART 3
You know the drill at this point. Off we goooo! [Part 1][Part 2]
"Maggie and Nina are depending on me!" Azi's really drunk his own Kool-aid at this point, or he's putting on a complicated show to pretend this is a serious endeavor. Giving away a valuable book just to trick Heaven? Something's really not adding up.
Another weird noise for the logs: A bassy 'whoosh/boom' noise right after Mutt says he has anniversary dinner with his beloved spouse and the camera pans to Crowley. Not sure it means anything, but it did stand out to me lol.
Something that stands out to me a lot as well, assuming it was done deliberately (I don't know the actor) - Mutt seems to be having an awfully hard time handling the cards he's currently sorting. Like, after he says 'no' at first, I cannot figure out what he's trying to do with his right hand.
Also of note: The mysterious Bird Box is nowhere to be seen in the shop, even though MANY of the set items are identical to the 1941 scene. Where that bird at??
"Under no circumstances can I there be for tonight." ... what? This has to be on purpose, right? I'm digging, I know, but that's what we do here lol.
Big sad empty warehouse for the Demon Legions. Why on earth (or in Hell) is Hell so short staffed? Where them demons at?
DANGER...osity!
"I can only be there 'til 7" so that's a half hour window for the meeting, at least for Justine. Fair, she can only handle so much of Azi's painful French lol.
The metal barrier just outside the cafe is... awfully snake-y isn't it?
"Looking where the furniture isn't..." is definitely going to be VERY important. Crowley absolutely knows something about losing AND regaining memories and it's been telegraphed all season.
Michael has eye earrings! This feels like a huge tie-in with Maggie's all seeing eye necklace.
Skimming through the rest since I've gone through it multiple times through other posts, but quick takeaways include...
Ms Cheng looking at the Pub before she goes in. Suspicious given we know that's the Hellevator, but have no reason to believe she'd be looking for someone else coming from that direction as the cafe AND record store are the other way.
Mr Brown has to be suspicious because we HEAR him getting mulched by demons when he's taken, but he survives? WEIRD.
Maggie's main character moment as I mentioned in my 'Thoughts about Maggie' post.
Azi seems very genuine when explaining the Coffee Shop Love Plot to Nina, so maybe he really did believe he was helping. I don't get why they steamrolled past her already having a partner, both the lads knew it. It's weird for that much.
Maggie blankly standing by the open window in range of trash is weird, especially since she like Activates and Becomes Brave right after.
I do wonder... how does Shax know Maggie couldn't pay the rent? That seems awfully specific. Like REALLY specific.
Throne, Dominion or Higher Crowley - what a way to drop that info! That moment hits so hard lol.
"Institutional Problem" I wonder if we'll learn more about The Fall next season. What was it that actually triggered it (in this universe)?
I love that the archangels clearly interact with each other SO LITTLE that no one even knows if Gabriel actually has his own bloody desk lol. Talk about isolation.
Huh. I wonder why Shax didn't get discorporated by the Exploding Halo...
You know who else is wearing a damn turtleneck? SARAQUAEL. OOH. COVERT AGENT? HMMMM
No one looked at the damn box, I still can't believe it. Everyone was so busy Being In A Story that they didn't think of it lol.
Analysis of the last chunk of the episode has been done to death, so I'll finish by underlining that it's SO awfully convenient that Maggie INSISTED that she and Nina talk to "them" while Aziraphale was waylaid by the Metatron.
In fact, it's Very Fortunate that the Metatron made a point of going and sitting at JUSTINE'S CAFE out of sight of the bookshop AND Nina's Cafe. Otherwise Nina might have been like hey you, get in on this chat! Like he knew that was the plan...
Plus the fact that they do that even though Justine's cafe is clearly CLOSED. I doubt she'd be chill with that so I guess she's not around.
Anyway that's enough so here's the TLDR:
The Metatron pretty much just LETS Gabriel escape, knowing that the Archangels will go down and muddle about trying to investigate.
We still don't know why Michael thought they had the right to strike people from the Book of Life. The Metatron seems to think that's out of the question, so where did that idea come from in the first place? It was a major driver of the early plot this season.
It seems convenient that Maggie cried about Nina RIGHT before the Angels arrived to inspect the Jimbriel miracle, and then RIGHT AFTER THAT, Mr Brown (of Brown's World of Carpets) shows up to set up the venue. That alone, all happening in the span of maybe 15 minutes, is a LOT.
It really feels like much of the plot was specifically orchestrated to keep Aziraphale and Crowley apart and NOT TALKING to each other. They keep hiding shit from each other to protect each other, but just hamstring themselves.

SPN Drabbles - 11/14: Choices
Tumblr media
Fandom: Supernatural.
Category: F/M.
Relationship: Crowley x Female Reader.
Type: Drabble.
Words: 550.
Chronology: Any season.
~~~~~~~~~~
"It's time for you to pick a side. Either you're with us, or against us."
My ultimatum was left hanging in the heavy air of the room. I stared right in front of me at the man whose presence was enough to make anyone flinch. Anyone but me. I was not impressed by the demon henchmen surrounding him. I did not even pay them any attention. All I focused on was the King sitting proudly on his throne, reinforcing even further his high status. His hazel eyes pierced through mine, an indescribable feeling residing in them.
"Is this really the only purpose of your visit?" He asked while sighing. "That's a disappointment. Here I was thinking you had come here willingly to spend some quality time with me."
"I wasn't sent by Sam and Dean." I told him as I shook my head. "I am coming here willingly. It was my own decision to come see you."
Silence filled the room, putting our conversation on hold. Without speaking a word, he gestured with his hand, and all the demons around us promptly exited the room in a formation. I watched them leave from the corner of my eye, and when they had all gone out, leaving their King alone with me, he turned back to face me, a relaxed expression on his face.
"Do the Winchesters know you're here?" He asked while tilting his head slightly.
"It doesn't matter whether they do or don't. This isn't about them."
I stared deeper into his eyes, but still, I could not decipher this strange feeling that emanated from them.
"Now don't make me repeat myself. Give me an answer."
"Why pick a side?" He instantly replied.
"Because you can't keep on constantly switching sides like that, Crowley!" I exclaimed. "You think this is a game? You think everything that's been happening between you and us is only for fun?"
I took a step forward in his direction and pointed a finger at him.
"Because believe me, if you do, then we have very different definitions of 'fun'."
Crowley showed no sign of intimidation and simply kept on looking at me, his eyes wandering across my body.
"Throughout our countless confrontations, we've lost people, Crowley, because of you." I started angrily. "And I'm sick of it."
I looked down at my feet and closed my eyes while exhaling deeply, trying to calm myself.
"Yet, you've also shown us mercy at times." I said before looking back up at him, shrugging. "And, to be frank, I don't understand how that logic of yours works."
A faintly visible smile decorated his lips, partially covered by one of his hands.
"But that doesn't matter." I added while shaking my head. "I'm not here to try and understand it. I'm here because I want you to make a choice. Because I'm tired of our feuds. Because I want to know for sure whether we can trust you or not. Whether you have our backs or not."
"What if I tell you I'm on your side?" He began while walking towards me. "Would you take that as an answer?"
"This isn't just about me, Crowley." I spoke quietly.
He stopped in front of me, and at last, I understood the emotion in his eyes.
"To me, it is."
LEONA STANS HOW WE FEELING???
Leona looking like he just overthrew Farena on his card sitting on the throne with that pose. I am looking sinfully 👁️👁️. I really appreciate how Leona really looks like he is in his element, definetly he has never looked more princely than he does now. I'm so excited for this event, I really believe we are FINALLY going to meet the Kingscholar big bro!!! We got Felmier grandma, Viper sister, so now I hope Farena makes an appearence. Also more Cheka shenanigans, hopefully!!!! (kinda disappointed Ruggie and Rook are not included tho)
Also I bet Crowley is gonna send us over there with Leona to try and find a way home. Like every time. Sigh.
[Referencing this post!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
👆 Me Y’all right now 😌 Oh, but I’m sure the Leona fans are doing juuust fine… I don’t know if I can say the same for their gems and keys though 💦
bxsvsjwbw NWURrrAajUUYNAUR DONmT lET LEoNA OVERTHROW hiS BRImoThER AnD SiT ON THAT tHRonE 😭 it makes him too sexy hot BUT YEAH, L*ona looks really in his element here 🤡 definitely very powerful, very regal!! Like he knows all the moves you’re going to make and has already calculated ways to counter them…
HNFZhxbbzhababBHHFHHHHGGGGHH JUST LOOK HIm, LOOK At ThE FAcE THIS bASTARD iS MAkI NG I WAnNA JUST. UGHHHHHhHhHHGHH **aggressively shakes him like I’m making a frothy cocktail**
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I sure hope we get to meet a member of Leona’s family 👁️ My money’s also on Farena being the most likely person, but I wouldn’t be opposed to meeting Leona’s sister-in-law or even totally new characters twisted from those in The Lion King! (I have a bias for birds, so if there was a new character at all, then I’d want to see twisted!Zazu~) And, of course, hopefully we see the return of Cheka!! Lil’ guy needs more screentime, he’s been sorely missed since his cameo in the first Halloween event 😂
I think it’s still possible that Ruggie and Rook go home with us for the event (they just won’t get new outfits/cards), it depends on the circumstances. For example, Kalim went to Silk City for the Scalding Sands event despite not being one of the characters that got a Yasmina Silk card. Something similar could occur for Ruggie and Rook; maybe they’ve come to spectate in an event or a ceremony but not participate in it themselves (so they wouldn’t get special attire).
I don’t think Crowley will?? There’s only been one major instance of him sending Yuu to a new location to research a way home, and that was Glorious Masquerade. All of the other times when Yuu visited someone’s homeland, it was because they were invited to join for an event (ie Kalim invites them to Silk City’s fireworks festival, Epel invites them for Harveston’s sledding race). Other events like Vargas Camp may have Yuu tagging along for practical purposes (ie helping the teacher). In fact, Crowley sending Yuu away to new places for the purposes of finding a way home is actually a very uncommon excuse used to shoehorn them into exploring Twisted Wonderland, it’s definitely not “like every time”.
Ferid's Abnormality in an Abnormal Universe - Character Analysis
I feel that what Rígr tells Ferid about his " abnormality " has to do with the fact that Ferid seems psychologically unaffected by vampirism.
Ferid still wants revenge on Rígr in chapter 91 and he knows exactly why. His emotion is alive, human, not degraded at all in the last thousand years.
Compared to other vampires, like Crowley, for example, who, although he remembers that Ferid ruined his life by killing his friends, no longer remembers the faces or names of his friends, and the emotion of the idea of revenge had become a shadow after 50 years as a vampire only.
Also, Mikaela says after 4 years as a vampire that he is already starting to become indifferent to people, apathetic.
Vampires' memories fade over the years, and their once vivid emotions become barely palpable shadows.
But at Ferid, things are different.
His behavior as an adult and a vampire mirrors his behavior as a 16-year-old.
Tumblr media
Then his thoughts were these, but as soon as his older brother appears, his expression changes and that childish smile appears and further, a learned behavior, which his older brother likes.
Tumblr media
Obedient behavior, meant for a second-born to the throne, whose ambitions must be non-existent.
At the opposite pole, as a vampire, Ferid approaches a mask that contrasts with that of the "porcelain child" from his childhood.
"I've always been perfectly normal. Especially for someone who was second in line for a royal throne.
I had such a strict upbringing. They were teaching me to be a saint." ( Ferid to Rígr in chapter 91 )
This new mask of his is a monstrous one.
Ferid, instead of humiliating himself and stepping aside from anyone to whom he might be an impediment, like in his childhood,
Tumblr media
" Naaah. You're so much more talented than I am. I'll stay out of the way. You're more popular than I am. "
he frightens them, disgusts them all.
It is toxic revenge for how he was forced to be what others wanted him to be in order to be accepted.
But this is another mask, behind which Ferid continues to hide.
His emotions remain alive, hidden within him, the same for a thousand years.
Tumblr media
And his ideal is the same as when he was 16.
Tumblr media
Basically, Ferid has the same goal since adolescence. That of stopping the cycle of continuous reincarnation for a destroyed god, of actually confronting this god in whose palm he is a pawn since his creation as a soul.
Tumblr media
His ideal is not to die, to drink blood as a vampire.
Not.
Ferid wants to change the origin of the putrid world that created him. It is his highest ideal.
The vampire life seems like a continuation of his search.
A search for what?
Tumblr media
Ferid at 16 asks his elder brother's retainers to go on a conquest to the Far East to find the sage who wrote the treatise on reincarnation and the creation of the world.
Who is this sage? Maybe Sika Madu?
I think it is very likely.
So it can truly be said that Ferid leaves at the age of 16 to find God.
His idea of a good God who created him out of love was lost. As the author mentions this about him, that Ferid says it with genuine sadness in "The story of the Vampire Michaela".
And Ferid, however, wants to find that broken creator of his.
Tumblr media
In this discussion with Sika in chapter 76, what I say can be confirmed.
Ferid knows who the "god" of his world is, and his question here is not just about vampires, but why Sika would have created humans out of darkness, into a destroyed world where they would be condemned to endless reincarnation without a real purpose.
And how Ferid says that he will decide what to do once he learns this reason shows his need to understand the meaning and purpose of his universe.
Why is the world like this, why was his life like this?
Why was he born second in line to the throne, meant to be a shadow of his brother and continually repressed in his family?
Why did not his family accept him as himself and force him into an obedient "saint" role?
Why does not that good god exist?
Why does his own soul have to reincarnate endlessly to a horrible fate?
Why is he so lonely and could never find a place to fit in?
There are many justified questions for which Ferid wants an answer, a meaning, an order.
And I think he is like this, precisely, because Ferid's soul has always felt much too much.
Otherwise, never could a soul that does not feel touch such a pit of despair.
Tumblr media
And his mind is always too aware. Not forgetting anything, the memories remaining perfectly vivid in his mind.
It is as if Ferid is reliving the past in every moment of the present.
That is why he took refuge in reading as a child and hid with his books.
His parents considered him incorrigible, broken.
"How scary. But, ever since I was born, I have never been silent. As Papa and Mama have said. Ever since I came out of the womb, I had an incorrigible mouth. Even so, they were still my parents. What was it again. What were we talking about~ Anyways──"  ( Wrat 19, volume 1, chapter 1)
His older brother was content with Ferid being his shadow, he was glad that Ferid saw no meaning in living, so he had all the power in the kingdom.
No one could listen to Ferid, no one wanted to see, understand him.
Probably in Ferid's search for god, for Sika, he met Rígr.
And the latter convinced him that he had the solution to Ferid's purpose. That Ferid is the "chosen one" to change the putrid origin of the world, its broken laws.
Tumblr media
Rígr nurtured his ideal, only to use Ferid as an experiment, ultimately abandoning him.
But Ferid did not lose his ideal either after that or as a vampire.
The new condition, yes, accentuated his feeling of imprisonment, isolation, loneliness, his violence.
But his goal remained exactly the same.
Because Ferid, in fact, did not need anyone for finding purpose. Neither his parents nor Rígr Stafford.
Rather, the actual lack of emotional support from these people let him see the harsh reality of his universe.
And hence the desire to change the meaninglessness, the origin of the rotten world, which created him.
I think that his name, " unparalleled ", is chosen by the author with a clear intention.
Ferid is unique in his universe, able to keep his purpose regardless of becoming a vampire, regardless of not finding love in the people around him, regardless of whether the roles he is forced into are always inappropriate for who he really is.
I believe he is meant to change the universe he lives in.
To stop the senseless cycle, birth from darkness, to be more than a pawn in the palm of his broken god.
His whole search is that of a child who wants to accept and love himself, of a soul that wants freedom, meaning, order.
And in the end, Ferid is much more human than one might think. His high ideal, that of changing the laws of his rotten world, its meaninglessness, shows the great depth of his soul.
That is why he is a fascinating character, truly "one of a kind".
Delving into understanding how he never actually lost his motivation and realizing how his motivation goes so far to understanding his own creation as a soul, is heartening.
To me, he is the most fascinating and deep character.
I thank the author for creating Ferid, truly the "one of a kind".
And thanks to you, whoever is reading this.
I could talk about this character forever.
So anyone interested in understanding him like me, do not forget, feedback is appreciated and my inbox is always open.
I wish a good day to anyone who finds this post!
I saw these posters in my head for various combinations of SPN characters who appear in my fic Empty Earth, and I thought they'd be fun to actually see on screen. So I went unhinged and made them.
Most of these are serious, but some are complete crack.
Destiel:
Tumblr media
He lost a deal - he found Truth. He lost his best friend - he found Despair. (Episode 15x18 "Despair" was originally meant to be named "The Truth".)
===
Samwena:
Tumblr media
He lost his hope - he found his power. She lost her throne - she found her heart.
more posters under the cut
Tumblr media
===
===
Chuck + Amara:
Tumblr media
He lost control - he found enemies. She lost herself - she found a prison.
===
Note: Several of these combinations are not meant as romantic pairings. They just ended up in the same place at the same time in my story. Or they don't even interact, but their character arcs either have something in common or are polar opposites. You know.
(In other words, I just threw characters together into one pic on a whim because It Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time.)
I know, I know, I'm crazy for making so many of these, lol. But I injured my leg and can't walk right now, so I needed the distraction.
And I kept thinking "But what about these characters? Don't they deserve a poster, too?"
If seeing these posters made you curious, Empty Earth is on AO3.
*comes up to their door*
g-guys i cant- what if he regrets me? *hic* what if he just said yes to then hurt me? *hic* what if-?
(- a very VERY drunk @crowleytheserpentofeden )
Crowley..okay, I'm not really sure what to zay here, but, I'm gonna try, and you're just gonna have to truzzt me.
i know that Aziraphale has hurt you before, but he didnt do it on purpose. sure, a couple times he accidentally did because he was terrified that if he did anything about his feelings then, heaven, or worzze, hell, would hurt -you-, because he cares so much about you. thizz time, however, he was a manipulated angel struggling to break away from his toxic home, much like how Laudenum is deadly but addicting. but he chose you above all.
he loves you. don't listen to the what ifs. if I had listened to the what ifs, I wouldn't have Gabriel. I wouldn't have joy in my life. I would've wazzzted away on the throne of hell.
don't let yourzzelf wazte away either. <3
