Hello ! How are you doing ? I'm a FAN of your artwork and i would like to ask a few questions if it's ok for you to answer them ? I would like to know how long does a drawing take you ? ( like, for a non-background/only character by example and how long does it take you for a full masterpiece like those you are doing for khazad week ? epsecially the last one with the oh so like dream mountains ? ) And did you learn by yourself ? Are there any artists that you admire and that have inspired your style ? oh and the most important : do you think you will ever do illustrations for children's stories like fairy tales? because your artwork is very colorful and cute ( and amazing, marvelous, wonderful, poetic, incredible ) and I can see your kind of drawings on the covers of children's stories ! have a nice day !
oh wow hello!!! i am very well and luckily mostly recovered from being sick so i was properly outside again and visited the deer and goats at the park, so i'm very happy 🥰 this is such an incredibly sweet ask and i am very flattered to have received it!! i'm happy to answer your questions 🫶
luckily, i've got an artprogram (ProCreate) that automatically records my process and tells me how long it took - everything i draw varies greatly in style because i usually draw whatever i feel like drawing and try whatever i want to try...i really really like trying out all the different brushes available to me and see where they take me!! so i'll show you four different drawings and how long they took me:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
there's a lot of variables but in general cell-shading is a lot quicker than a painting approach ❣️
my latest drawing for khazad week took around 3 hours i believe - i had a lot of fun with filling everything with these little swirls and shapes, i used to fill entire pages with stuff like that during train rides when i was younger. i'm honestly a bit surprised people are liking it that much but i'm very happy! my backgrounds usually take a bit longer though, i've checked a few bigger drawings and they all come out to around 7 hours!
i had a few How To Draw books in my team, i especially remember one on animals and one on anime that i had when i was 12, though i also remember not really using them and being a bit bored by them. i also had a book about drawing when i was maybe 5 and i remember that one really fondly. it used simply shapes and bright colors and there was an underwater landscape with fish and corals and algae that i thought was sooo beautiful and that i would draw over and over again. i think that one stuck with me haha! otherwise i am self-taught in the sense that i never really attended classes beyond the mandatory ones at school. art/drawing for me personally has always been about having fun and trying myself out and being happy more than anything else.
it's also why i will not and can not ever do art properly as a proper job like graphic design, and i am not sure i could do comissions either. if i am bored and/or restricted the quality greatly suffers...this is truly just for my own fun 😚 though to prematurely answer your last questions i actually COULD very much imagine doing kids books illustrations - those are usually very whimsical and fun and unless the author has very specific pictures in mind already, i could just go nuts with it...kind of a dream honestly though the deadline would be so scary!
as for inspiration...this one is haaard to answer! i constantly get inspired by so many things i see every day - tumblr is so full of wonderful images and nature itself is so beautiful and sometimes i'll recall things from my childhood, books with vaguely remembered illustrations about all kinds of things (the caves in mountains from what i posted yesterday were based on a blurry memory of a book my father read to me when i was pretty young) and then there's museums... on top of it all i study art-history so i am always surrounded by beautiful images...how overwhelming. here are three artists that have inspired me with shapes and colors and patterns:
gustav klimt, phyllis shafer, and wenzel hablik!! in general i really really love art noveau, expressionism, and abstract art and i also love childrens books illustrations!
i don't at all come close to any of them and my more cartoonish style is a way of mimicking features of the art that i love but without putting too much work into it hahahahah
thank you again for this lovely lovely ask, it made me feel really cool 😳 i hope you'll have a wonderful day morning or evening, wherever you are 💐 feel free to ask more questions if i've answered anything in an unclear manner or if you just feel like it:)<3

Dragonborn Way of the Open Hand Monk
Tumblr media
"The worlds bounty is open to those who take it, though I question whose it is to claim."
The jade dragon is a myth told to dragonborn hatchlings, to embolden them to do good as the jade dragon would. While the metallic dragons bickered with the chromatic the rare and majestic jade dragon rose above it all and was a beacon of neutral goodness, good for the sake of good.
While most hatchlings grow out of these stories, much as human children lose interest in childhood heroes, some dragonborn pursue this dream. An order of monks scour the world for hatchlings with unique features, green tipped claws, glowing green eyes, and most rarely, jade horns. These children are taken in or request the parents to give up their child as the blood of the jade dragon runs in their veins.
Many of these parents have little choice as the order seems to have an endless supply of gold and will up the price until the often commoner family caves. Once the child arrives at the secret monastery they are personally taught by a grand master of Ki, demonstrating the balance of life, as well as the harsh martial lessons of the order.
Only two or three hatchlings appear with jade lineage every generation, and there is no rhyme or reason to where the turn up as no family has ever had two of jade blood. Thus each generation of these children are personally taught by only the greatest monks available. These children are forced to sustain themselves of minimal food and water, trained in self control to the point of obsession.
This hatchling however was graced with almost every feature of the jade dragon lineage, the horns and claws, the glowing green eyes, even breathing out gouts of emerald fire. He was an impressive martial artist, capable of crushing blows and precision strikes to destroy their enemies.
Yet his self control and meditation were lacking, brash and impulsive they were the first child to grow into an adult who still had failed all but the simplest Ki techniques. The elders came together and arrived at a decision, the child shall be banished from the monastery until they have begun to demonstrate the soul of the jade dragon.
So with no food the young dragonborn was cast out, sent out into the world with nought but the clothes on their back. And boy were they happy, free at last from the crushing pressures they began their adventure, drinking, brawling, and doing what they wanted.
Completely unaware that the gaze of the jade dragon rested upon them.
Some Ideas
I know the "jade dragon" trope is a bit overplayed but this art was amazing, and I couldn't get it out of my head. Even so I feel the backstory lets you shape the character how you would like without the standard "I am a monk, I must meditate and be nice" where the character can begin to want to do these things rather than feel they have to.
It feels like a journey of self discovery, where they see what their selfishness does to the world and begin to make healthy changes to improve themselves. Leading to being the exemplification they were born to be, maybe.
In the long game of the story I do feel like the order will request him back after doing something worthy/selfless. And of course the inner sanctum will be the lair of THE jade dragon, given a mission that is already aligned with the parties interests, perhaps coming back with a useful trinket for the party.
As always talk with your DM, they likely will have some thoughts on what kind of character development you can work on together. Or just be a cool joint crushing, stone breaking, sarcastic quipping monk content to enjoy their life :)
Art by Taran Fiddler
Oh my god he looks cool, the way the green blends into the horn and the designs. I know this is inspired by a bat but hot damn do they look majestic. This is brilliant, thank you.

Gracious yalls are raggin on SatAM in the tags more than I see anywhere else. "skrosksk environmentalism 🧠🔨" man I just wanna see fanart 🪑
Foist of all, the most common misconception I see is that every freedom fighter is anti technology. However, the only group we see that is true to this title would be the Wolf Pack. From the episode "Cry of the Wolf." Clearly stated with the main characters, we see that Sally has a device named Nicole, Rotor is The Tech Guy™, and Bunnie is literally half robot. Of course not by choice, but it gives a lot of advantages for the team. Heck even Uncle Chuck worked on this kinda stuff, considering he made the machine that defines Robotnik's character, which I'll get to later. Now yes, there are environmentalist undertones, but this was a common theme for 90s cartoons. I re watch this show a lot, and it never looks dead in the camera and tells you to plant a tree. If anything, Adventures of Sonic does that.
And then there's Robotnik. There's like an ongoing war with how this guy was interpreted. I'll give it a rating first.
Design: 6/10
Character: 7/10
Voice: 10/10
Starting with his design. Well, long story short, they didn't get his JP ref sheet. The producers of SatAM, among other fairly early Sonic continuity writers, were only given so much detail into this universe that they had to pull a few straws to make things a bit more...."consise." To put it in short terms, all they got was "Robotnik is the egg shaped bad guy who turns animals into robots." The concept art is very surreal, and just barely has the essence of Eggman. But hey, they kept the formula right. Red on top, black on bottom, yellow cape, big ol mustache. His villain generic black/red eyes are most likely AMSegas promotional art mistaking his glasses on his sprite for soulless caves. Not quite, but they got the right idea in the end. (the robotic arm is a nice touch)
His character is one that I exclusively tie to SatAM. Like if you say "Robotnik" instead of "Eggman," this is usually the first guy I think of. This is the only interpretation of him that actually took over, and poses as an serious threat, (that was well written *cough*Forces) so there's not a lot I can compare him to. A common complaint I see with this guy is that he always sits around while his robots or Snively do all the heavy lifting. While true, I see it as that he thinks so lowly of Sonic's team, he barely bats an eye or leaves his chair to deal with them. They're just that beneath him. Oh and the Naugus scene. Honestly, it was a little rushed. I feel like that's why it was so absurd. Naugus' little act was explained in one episode. They play Robotnik as this fearless warlord, so they wanted to give him something to be afraid of. Because despite his robotic appendages, he is a human. Don't even get me started on his an Snively's dynamic, that is for another day. As much as I like this interpretation, I hate the roboticizer twist. This ain't even a misinterpretation thing, they knew that was the whole point of his character. In short, he's your average edgy 90s big bad, except crank the darkness up like a few notches. Stands out across the sea of goofy eggmen.
Here's a cursed fact, he's got the same VA of Winnie the Pooh! Have that image brandished in your head. The deliveries of 80% of his lines really show how much of a creep he is. Like the shudders he does in between lines are actually unsettling. Snively does this too sometimes, but Robotnik's is too believably sadistic. There's a scene where there was like no music playing, in the beat of silence you could hear the frikkin harty inhale before delivering the next line and it made me physically recoil. Only one other character has successfully portrayed themselves with their voice alone, and got that reaction outta me, and that's the Pumpkin Rabbit from the Walten Files. Underground may have the same Robotnik design, but SatAMs got the fitting voice.
Obviously this ain't the perfect cartoon with a prime message. Heck, newer shows like Steven Universe tackle a lot of heavier topics, and it doesn't have the best writing either. But it stands strong for only having 23 episodes, with several airing and production issues, ie Antoine filler episodes/THE cliffhanger. There's so many "what could've been"s for this show that outweigh the "already are"s.

3 and 9 with todoroki and his s/o, the story is just his s/o showing him the traditions they had in their childhood, and at the end of it all todoroki is happily cuddling them next to the fireplace (❤️, i’ll stop for now fkebskfneks)
A/N: Excuse me, ❤️ anon, what do you mean you’ll stop? Never stop sending in prompts please
“Will you make a gingerbread house with me?” + “I don’t remember the last time I truly enjoyed Christmas” from Tis the Season prompt list (feel free to send in a prompt(s) and a character!)
Summary: Todoroki Shouto’s never experienced the fun of Christmas, so you take it into your own hands to show him just how fun the holiday can be
Words: 2,268
December 1st. The first day in which it’s acceptable to start counting down the days to Christmas. The snow would begin to fall from the sky, turning the boring pavement below your feet into a winter wonderland. Winter was a time for you to bundle up inside by the fire, enjoying a nice, warm drink while you spent time with those you considered your family. Christmas was the time when you could finally relax and forget about the every day stresses of life, whether it be your work, or simply living, you could just take a break from reality.
With all of these wonderful things happening around winter, it truly did not surprise you when Shouto had told you that he’d never celebrated Christmas.
Back when the two of you were in your first year of dating you had found out about the lack of warmth in the Todoroki family. It wasn’t something that he particularly wanted to tell you, but he felt like it would help to better explain why he ended up being inept when it comes to certain areas of knowledge. Childhood memories that you thought were standard, such as snowball fights in the cold, decorating a tree, and opening presents, weren’t a thing in his family, and by the time that reconciliation came, he was already an adult who no longer saw use in those things.
It hurt your heart to hear about his childhood. Not only from the fact that his family was torn apart from such a young age, but also by the fact that he seemed to be so resigned to the fact that because he was an adult, it meant that he wasn’t allowed to do all of the fun things at Christmas time. He seemed to accept the fact that his time had passed, and you didn’t like it.
In fact, it was the very reason that you were currently out at a grocery store, looking for every single Christmas-y thing that you could do this holiday season.
Well, that and the fact that this would be your first Christmas that you two spent together. So, there was that too.
You’d already stopped by the craft store, picking up some cute multicolored string lights that you could use to decorate your home with, along with a fake tree that was on sale, some cute ornaments that you thought he’d like, some sticks that would make the tree at least smell like a real tree, and, of course, some stockings for the two of you to hang by the fireplace. You would’ve been done with shopping, but they didn’t have any gingerbread house kits, and you felt like that was an important part of Christmas, and you didn’t want Shouto to miss out on a single thing. Luckily for you, the kits weren’t sold out, and you were able to snag two cute looking cottage kits for you and Shouto to decorate when he got home.
By the time you had finished up your shopping, the sun had begun to set, tinting the sky with a warm orange, though the weather was anything but. Thankfully, Shouto was still at the agency, with a short text from him telling you that he wouldn’t be home for a few more hours. That allowed you to get everything set up for when he came back.
First, you decided to set up the tree in a corner of the living room, clicking all of the parts together and fluffing out the branches. Setting aside the bag of ornaments next to it, you moved to hang the lights all around the house, letting them droop slightly as you strung them all around the house. A gleeful laugh left your lips once you finally plugged in the lights, basking in the glow of the multicolored bulbs.
By the time you had began to set up the gingerbread station, you heard the soft click of the lock. Just in time. Humming a soft tune to yourself, you waited until the man of the hour walked towards you, an adorably confused look on his face.
“(Y/N)?” When you hummed, not taking your eyes off of your gingerbread house, he sighed, moving closer until he was standing behind you, peering over your shoulder curiously, “What are you doing?”
“Designing a wonderful house for my little gingerbread people to live in,” You stated, a smile resting on your face, “Care to join me?”
He gave you a flat look, “Aren’t we a little too old for this?”
The look you gave him made him want to go back in time to when he uttered those words and slap himself. Just as he was about to take it back, you turned your body to face him, an unsure look on your face.
“I thought it’d be fun for us to do some Christmas activities together,” Grabbing one of his hands in yours, you gave him a shy smile, “Will you make a gingerbread house with me?”
At that cute look on your face, he felt his face mirroring yours, an excited voice in his head yelling at him to say “yes!”
So, that’s exactly what he did.
“You’ll have to help me out though,” He spoke, rolling up his sleeves as he stood beside you, his own house in front of him, “I’m not any good at these kinds of things,”
For the next hour, the two of you decorated your gingerbread houses. You had to do everything in your power to not laugh at the sight of Shouto’s house, watching as the icing began to slide all over the place, making it look as though his house had been through a big snowstorm. Though, from the look on Shouto’s face, it seemed as though he was close to losing it, too.
“How are you doing, honey?” You asked, stifling a small giggle that threatened to leave your lips.
Giving you a glare with no trace of malice, he turned back towards his mess of a house, “I’m telling a story. I’m sorry that it doesn’t suit your taste,”
“A story?” You gasped, a wide smile on your face, “Oh do tell, what’s the plot?”
“It’s about a family who’s stuck in the middle of a blizzard,” Just as he spoke, the gingerbread walls gave out, caving in and crumbling beneath the weight of the sugary snow above them, “And how they should get better property insurance.”
At that, you couldn’t hold it back anymore. Bending over, you let out an obnoxious sounding laugh, feeling tears begin to form in the corners of your eyes. As you gripped the counter for dear life, you could also hear the light giggles coming from the man beside you, shaking his head at his luck. Once you could finally breathe properly, you pinched his cheek, enjoying the way that he squirmed.
“Well, your gingerbread people should be thankful that at least one of us knows how to build a proper house,” You spoke, plucking his people and placing them next to yours, “They can stay here until they get that insurance money,”
He snorted, rolling his eyes. “Oh, how gracious of you,”
Once the two of you were finished with decorating your houses, you pulled him over to the living room, where you promptly shoved him towards the bare tree, grabbing the bag of ornaments as you went. With a giddy smile on your face, you held the bag in front of him, allowing him to look at the absurd amount of ornaments you bought.
“Help me decorate the tree!”
Picking up an ornament shaped like a bowl of noodles, he looked at you apprehensively. “I’m not sure if I’ll be too helpful,”
You waved him off, pulling out a long trail of silver garland from out the bag. “Who cares? Theres’ no rules to decorating a Christmas tree, and I’ll love it no matter what it looks like,” You gave him a fond smile, one that took his breath away, “Because it’s ours,”
With that, you didn’t wait for his response, slinging the garland onto the bottom of the tree, slowly working your way up to the top, “Now hurry up and pick out some cute ornaments! I grabbed a bunch, so hopefully you’ll find some that you like,”
It took a few more seconds of apprehension before you felt Shouto’s body beside yours, the noodle bowl ornament that once rested in his hands now hanging on one of your plastic branches. Giggling a bit to yourself, you dug in the bag, looking for the ones you thought were pretty.
All that could be heard in your house was the soft clinks of ornaments being pulled from the bag, and the occasional question from Shouto, asking for the fiftieth time if where he placed the snowman ornament was okay, if he was doing it right. After a while, you quietly pulled away, making sure to not be questioned by the man. Carefully, you rummaged through the bag filled with all of your impulse Christmas buys, letting out a quiet sigh of relief when your hand met with a bundle of mistletoe that you had carelessly thrown in there. Pulling it out, you moved to grab your phone off the counter, connecting it to your speakers in order to put on your Christmas playlist.
Once the soft sound of music began to ring throughout the house, walked towards Shouto, a mischievous smile playing on your lips.
“You’re really trying to get into the holiday mood, aren’t you—“
Just as he turned around, the teasing remark he had died in his throat. Eyes widening slightly, he felt his heart begin to race. When he continued to stare at you with shock, you couldn’t help the laughter that was bubbling in your chest.
“I know you haven’t really celebrated Christmas before but,” You paused, stepping closer to him,  your chests nearly touching, “You have to know what this is, right?”
He gave you an amused look, seemingly having recovered from his previous shock. “You know you can kiss me any time? You don’t need—“
Once again, he found the words being stolen from his lungs as you grabbed a handful of his shirt, tugging him down to meet your lips in a soft kiss.
Surprisingly, it felt different. When he first saw the green plant in your hand, Shouto wanted to roll his eyes, not truly understanding why kissing under the mistletoe was a tradition in the first place. It wasn’t as if the kiss would be any different, nor did it have any actual authority in making sure people followed the holiday tradition. But, when you pulled him down and pressed your lips against his, he felt as though there was something new in your kiss. It was almost as if he could feel all of the joy and love and all of those feelings you’re supposed to feel on Christmas. Not to say that he couldn’t feel your love in all of the other ways you show him affection, but there was something about the silly tradition that made him really feel all of the emotions you were trying to convey to him.
It was at that moment when he realized just how hard you were trying to make Christmas special for him. How hard you were trying to cram in every single holiday tradition into his memory, just because you knew how he’d never gotten to experience those things. Despite him telling you that he was never sad about missing the holiday, how he didn’t even really understand it being anything other than a capitalist scheme, you still wanted to show him what Christmas could be.
Pulling away to catch his breath, his arms wrapped around your waist, not letting you get too far. As he continued to stare down at you, slightly dazed from all of the emotions he was feeling, you patted his chest, your face beginning to heat up at all of the attention.
“So,” You started, tilting your head slightly, “How was your first mistletoe kiss?”
He bit his lip, pretending to think it over in his head before leaning in closer, brushing his nose against yours, “I’m not too sure, let me try again,”
By the fifth or sixth kiss, he finally told you that he loved that tradition. Though, he already knew it was one of his favorites after the first one.
As the evening had rolled in, and you’d finished most of your activities for the day, the two of you found yourselves on the couch, bundled into a blanket while watching the snow fall outside, the soft glow from the string lights being the only source of light. Wrapping your arms around his waist, you squeezed him gently, a content sigh falling from your lips.
“Thank you for putting up with me today,” You spoke, trying not to disturb the peaceful air that surrounded the two of you.
You heard him scoff, his hands reaching up to tangle themselves in your hair, rubbing the back of your head soothingly. “You shouldn’t have to thank me, in fact, I feel like I should be the one thanking you,”
When you lifted your head, the words you wanted to say about to slip out, he gave you the warmest smile you’ve ever seen, and everything you wanted to say, wanted to argue, simply left your mind.
“I don’t remember the last time I truly enjoyed Christmas,” he spoke, his eyes sparkling with joy.
“So thank you for showing me that Christmas isn’t all that bad.”

Where One Story Should End, Another Begins
Okay y’all strap in, my first actual series (instead of just one shots lol) has only been on Wattpad so far but I’m bringing her to Tumblr. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a psych major with my own mental health struggles and Wade Wilson as a comfort character so what the hell, here’s a Wade x reader series with some emotional bits haha.
Here’s the Wattpad description: You never knew how lost a person could be until you found yourself hanging from the edge of a high-rise building; you also never knew how much life could change from the introduction of a single man. From the day you met on the roof of that building, there has been a connection between you and Wade Wilson. A relationship consisting of a lot of confusion, some anger, and maybe even love.
Sidenote, several chapters are already out on Wattpad but I think I’ll space out the posts on Tumblr lol, but here’s chapter one! Also, Wade’s personality and healing factor here is based more on the original comic character than the movie interpretation (Meaning he’s slightly less vulgar and feels the full pain of his injuries. They still heal, but he also still feels all the pain until they do. Also, I love Ryan Reynolds’s interpretation, I’m just sticking more to the comics for these purposes.)
I really hope people will take the time to read this and let me know what you think
Warnings (These will be chapter by chapter, not for the whole series): suicide, depression, swearing, blood mention
Word Count: 2,076
Fuck this. You'd had enough.
As you walked down the street to the highest building in the blocks surrounding your apartment, there was no doubt in your mind that this was the right thing to do. You'd put up with too much pain for too long and you were ready to make it stop once and for all. You'd thought this through very well. You knew what you were about to do, and you were ready. So, you entered the building (a hotel, you believed) and took the elevator up as high as it would go. Your hands were shaking as the pads of your fingers clamored for the cold buttons, but now was not the time to get cold feet.
You had to do this.
The elevator opened on the roof of the building, which served as a nice patio for hotel residents to relax on. Ironic, you thought, that you'd be flinging yourself to your death from a resort that was designed to be a place of relaxation and calmness. Regardless, you pressed on to the railing of the building, looking down at the massive drop before you.
26 stories- enough to kill anyone. It was even more intimidating in person than you imagined, but as you looked down the treacherous drop to the alley below, you waited in vain for the sense of terror that you'd been expecting. This view was enough to scare the living hell out of anyone; perhaps more worrying than the drop itself was the fact that it didn't scare you. Instead, a bizarre sense of peace came over you. Soon, the pain would be gone. Just the thought of that was inviting enough for you to firmly grip the railing and carefully swing your legs over so that you were now on the opposite side, clinging on to the building by just  a few thin bars. You stood there for a moment, gathering your thoughts as you willed your breathing to steady.
You were ready.
"You don't want to do that."
The voice from behind you startled you so much that you almost fell off on accident. You were careful to quickly replace the look of surprise on your face with one of annoyance. With your hands still tightly on the railing, you slightly turned to glance out of the corner of your eye to see who the hell would also happen to be on the roof of a 26 story building at 2:30 AM. Once you caught sight of the figure though, you turned more fully to take a second look. You could make out the silhouette of a person sitting in the dark corner of the roof patio; you hadn't noticed him earlier because he was sitting just behind the door you'd come from. The stranger was entirely disguised by a red suit with black accents, and judging by the voice and body shape, a man. His suit was designed such that you couldn't see a single bit of skin, including his face- the eyes on the mask were completely whited out, giving him an eerie appearance. Your eyes trailed down from the mask to the rest of him to notice... weapons? Fuck, now that you looked closely, there were at least two pistols on him, and you could see what appeared to be the hilt of a knife poking out of the top of his boots.
"I really need to find a better way of entering a conversation, don't I? Been trying to think of a catchphrase, haven't come up with anything yet," he babbled; you weren't even sure if he was talking to himself or to you.
"...What? Who... who do you think you are, telling me what I want? Just- Never mind. Leave me alone," You snapped. You hadn't planned to even talk to the man, but you also hadn't expected him to make such a silly comment, given the situation. It caught you off guard a bit, so you turned from him to focus on the task at hand. This weirdo was not going to ruin this for you.
"Ouch. Just tryin' to help." He sounded strangely calm and unbothered by the fact that you were literally hanging off the edge of a building, poised to jump- he spoke with the ease of someone making small talk at a bus stop.
"Just FYI, that thing they say about dying from falling being painless is total bullshit. You don't faint in the air, and even though you die on impact with the ground, you still feel all the pain in the world, just for a second. Trust me, it's the worst." He said this with a slightly more earnest tone than anything else thus far, but his nonchalant vibe didn't falter. Even though you couldn't see him, you could still hear him moving behind you, even over the chaotic orchestra of city sounds below you. From his footsteps, you could tell he was standing now and walking around, likely towards you.
"What... what the hell are you talking about?" You finally caved and inquired more of his seemingly deranged mumbling.
"Take it from me, it's not a good way to go," he stated matter of factly. This earned him another glance from you, which he noticed and he returned the stare to you, now standing several meters away. At least... you think he was looking at you. It was dark, and with the mask you couldn't see his eyes whatsoever.
"I don't know who the hell you are, but clearly you're insane. Just fuck off, okay? Leave me alone," you barked at him, desperately wishing this maniac to leave so you could just do what you came to do and die in peace. Though... the longer you stood there listening to him ramble, the more you were able to take in your surroundings. The tears had slowly stopped, likely because you simply had no more to cry. Now with a slightly more clear head, you were able to take in the true height at which you clung to the railing. The breeze threatening to pluck you from the structure was somehow both inviting and terrifying. You'd thought this through well, you had everything sorted out so that you can finally die and die in peace... but the stranger's words lingered in your head. What if it did hurt...
You were very abruptly ripped from your thoughts at the realization that the man was now standing a mere few feet from you, leaning against the railing you clung to, just on the opposite side.
"Jesus! Didn't you hear me? I said to fuck off!" you snapped even more sharply this time, willing anger to hide your fear from this whack job who had no right to be here in the first place. You'd thought through and planned for many things surrounding your suicide, but this certainly was not one of them.
"Yeah, I heard you. Just 'cause I heard you doesn't mean I have to listen. Same for you. You can completely ignore me and jump if you want. But I'm kinda sensing there's a reason you haven't let go yet..." He mumbled. A wave of emotions came over you at his words. First confusion, then anger at him for barging into your affairs and presuming to know anything about anything.
"Because you're freaking me out. Don't make me say it again- fuck. off." You hissed. Weird... even though he still wore a mask and you couldn't make out even the slightest expression on his face, his silence carried a strange somberness to it, making you feel just the slightest twinge of guilt, so you very quietly added, "Please. I've had enough.. not just with you, with everything. I've thought this out well. I know what I'm doing. I know this is what needs to be done. Just, please, leave me be." The man seemed to be able to hear the cracks in your voice, much like the cracks in a dam, sealing away an ocean of emotion and pain that you fought so desperately to hold back. You were doing this so as to rid others of the burden you put on them. This man- whoever this bizarre stranger was- didn't need or deserve to be burdened by you either. When he still didn't respond, you looked up at him; after only several minutes of conversing, you could already infer that silence was uncommon with this one and that it must mean he is actually thinking. You also noticed that he'd shifted a bit closer to you now, close enough that you might be able to reach out and touch him.
"Yeah, but I'm here now. And I know it might've sounded like a joke, but I was serious when I said I knew what it felt like. Physically and emotionally. I've been through this whole shit show before but from your side, except there was no one there to try and stop me. Not that it would've worked anyways. I know what it's like to feel like there's no other option. I know I can't stop you, too. All I can do is tell you what I know, and that is that you're about to make a huge mistake. Come back over here with me and let's talk about this, preferably when you aren't quite literally clinging to life."
You hesitated for a moment, but soon frustration boiled within you again, angry with yourself this time for even considering his offer. When you didn't respond, he continued to speak.
"Well, if you won't join me-" he began, firmly holding the railing and swinging his legs over to your side, "then I guess I'll join you," he grinned, making you realize just how much of a madman he must be.
"What the hell are you doing?! Get back, leave me alone!" You screamed at him this time, your entire body trembling from adrenaline. Anywhere else, you'd probably have shoved the freak, but now definitely wasn't the time. He just looked out at the skyscrapers surrounding you, then his gaze landed on you once more.
"Beautiful out, isn't it?" He gestured broadly to the city skyline with one hand, but when his hand was towards you, he very suddenly snatched your wrist with an iron grip, tethering you to him and to the building and earning a gasp from you.
"What the fuck?! HELP! Someone-" You panicked now. Suicide seemed like an okay option when you were the one in control, but now that your life was in the hands of this stranger, fear flooded your body. You wanted to try and pry his hand off of you but if you let go with your other hand to do so, you really would fall.
"No one can hear us up here, sweetheart. I didn't want to have to do this but I'm not letting you die on my watch. Will you please come back over the railing with me? I'm asking ever so politely." You honestly couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not, but it was now or never. You turned your head to face him and tried to apologize, but your voice was too weak and no words came out. Instead, you mouthed the words 'I'm sorry' with tears in your eyes as you took a deep breath and let go with both hands.
What happened next was almost incomprehensible, and it happened so fast that you didn't even know what happened at first. When you should've been falling to your death, you felt an arm wrap around your waist and lift you hard, throwing you over the railing back onto the patio with a painful thud against the concrete. As you looked up, you realized with absolute horror that the man was no longer there- he must've lost his balance and fallen in an effort to save you. You scrambled to your feet as fast as you could and dashed over the the edge of the building, terrified to look down but you knew you had to. His death was on you now.
However, what you saw when you glanced down was somehow even more heart-stopping than the knowledge that he fell.
The man was a crippled mess, laying in a massive pool of blood. What made you dizzy though is what happened next.
He had plummeted twenty-six stories to the ground.
And he waved back up to you.

'I like to remember that we see shapes and stories in stars and clouds, and that Art goes back to prints of cave-people's hands; I like to remember that we are not built to be alone, and that we will seek out the company of others whenever we can. I like to remember that we find faces in the oddities of nature, and character in anything and everything that's around; I like to remember how much we have invested in Beauty designed for our senses, what we will do for sweet scents and soothing sounds. I like to remember that we have made much simply because it looks pretty, and done much because it feels nice; I like to remember that we are convinced of faeries in the grasses and angels in the skies. I like to remember that we make friends of strangers and treat our memories as treasures; I like to remember what empathetic things we are, and how much we do for love and pleasure.'

The last stop on your Hot Springs Around the World tour is Chile, the place you will spend eight enjoyable nights. The heat comes from a geothermal energy plant, owned by a heating firm that created the lagoon to test heating strategies in the Seventies. When the onsen's water contains distinctive minerals or chemicals, the onsen establishments display what sort of onsen it's. The scorching spring is a spot of tranquility; whereas it's definitely okay to speak amongst yourselves, it isn't meant to be treated like a public pool. While you could be excited to point out off the speedo you got while vacationing within the south of France final summer season, bathing suits are forbidden in the Japanese hot spring. If this seems off-putting, understand that it is the norm right here and most people turn into used to it somewhat rapidly. With so much to offer visitors, it’s no marvel that Glenwood Springs is Colorado’s primary selection for warm springs and wellness. Slated to open this winter, Sōkuin Austin draws from both Japanese and European custom.

Okay, Skyward Sword first impressions!
My first session was long, and there are spoilers for those who never played it before, so my thoughts are below.
- I like the ink blot opening sequence, but I’m a sucker for backstory and lore being told through illustrations and a different style than the main story.
- But why did the Goddess send all the humans to live up in the sky, but not any of the other surface peoples? Are humans just so weak that getting them out of the way is best for everyone? What about the others? I saw a Goron in that ink blot, are you telling me Gorons aren’t worthy of being saved and have to fight? Fuck you, Gorons are great.
- Also, it said humans were sent to Skyloft. Are... are we the humans? What’s the difference between Hylians and humans?
- Okay, the internet told me about Ghirahim and Demise, but who was going to tell me about the spiky doom monster?!
- The colors are very pretty. Skyloft looks great. The water reminds me of the Spyro games.
- Wow, Zelda’s bird is rude.
- Link’s got wood carving tools on his desk and I love me an artistic boi. He made all those figures in his room!
- Pipit is a little intense with severe eyebrows, but I like him. Karane is less intense, and I like her pigtails. I think she crocheted all the bird plushies in her room. I also think she has a crush on Pipit. Little evidence at this point, but that’s my theory.
- Also, if that’s the school uniform, does that mean boys get the long caps and girls get a beret? Karane doesn’t have a long cap like Pipit does. Why the different caps for different genders?
- Also Pipit doesn’t have his own room at the academy. Why doesn’t he have a room?!
- We were a year too late to have a yellow-clad hero. Bananas.
- Who made Fledge try to move these barrels by himself? Rude! At least give him a cart or something. I will help him. This poor guy!! I want to give him a hug, he seems so down on himself.
- Owlan and Horwell make me think of LOTR elves.
- PARKOUR!
- But seriously, I can see how these climbing features led to Breath of the Wild. Sky can parkour, but Wild just clings onto any surface like a spider and just goes.
- Remlits are Pokemon. And I love that Link just picks it up and just keeps smiling at it. Remlits are so cute!
- Zelda is so excited to see Link, this is such a turn from BOTW. She’s so sweet!
- Gaepora is literally an owl man. He is an owl. I don’t think his eyes can go any wider.
- Also, how come the Zeldas never look like their fathers? Zelda doesn’t look anything like an owl! And don’t get me started on Rhoam.
- Honestly, if I was Zelda, I’d be a little pissed if my dad kept saying how amazing my best friend friend is and pointing out how jealous I am but saying it’s natural because my friend’s bond with his bird is JUST. SO. AMAZING.
- SHE PUSHED ME!! D:<
- Wow, Link’s voice is deeper than I expected.
- Okay, someone stole my birb and I have to find it.
- Does no one name their Loftwings? Everyone just refers to them as “my bird”, “your bird.” If they’re supposed to be our soulmates or something, shouldn’t they have names? The remlit gets a name but not the Loftwing?
- ... Fledge, what do you know?
- These character designs are really weird. Obviously, Link and Zelda are made to be the most attractive characters, but the rest is a weird range of, slightly exaggerated but pretty normal to WTF.
- I don’t like Groose’s mouth. It makes weird shapes.
- Okay, he says I’m bragging about my friendship with Zelda, but so far it seems just her dad brags about it. I haven’t said anything. Sorry dude that I have her dad’s approval. Can’t beat that.
- Stop making that face at Zelda, it’s creepy!!
- FLEDGE!!! My goddess...  I may forgive you in time, but right now I’m mad. A heads up would have been nice! And after I helped with that barrel!
- I has sword.
- Okay, I do have a bit of trouble with the motion controls for the sword. Maybe I’ll get better with practice, but the precision I need for some of these cuts may be a problem down the line.
- Okay, does Link have premonition powers or something? First the dream with the monster, then he gets a vision at the blocked cave of his bird, even though he can’t hear or see it from this vantage point, and then later the dream with Fi. Is Link an oracle?
- ... It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that I needed to cut the gate with the sword. I’m dumb.
- MY BIRB!! :D I’m calling him Red. Or maybe Big Red.
- FLYING IS HARD OMG. I just keep going in circles over and over and over. This is going to be really difficult, and I had to recalibrate my joy cons a couple times midair.
- Okay, so Link and Zelda are the only ones around for the ceremony. Why is no one around to watch? How do they know we did it? We could’ve just skipped it and no one would have known.
- SHE PUSHED ME AGAIN!! D:<
- Aiming is hard when you’re falling. :’(
- Oh, this is a date. She wants to go on a date. Well okay, but only if she stops pushing me off stuff.
- HOW DID WE NOT NOTICE THE TORNADO?!
- Well shit.
- Also I fell again, but this time Zelda didn’t push me.
- Gaepora is really taking this well. I mean, he’s clearly concerned, but for someone whose daughter just potentially fell to her death, he’s really understanding about it.
- Fi ghost just had to lead me around the longest way possible, didn’t she.
- Also how do you pronounce her name? I’ve heard people pronounce it “Fye,” like “my”, but I keep wanting to say “Fee,” like “Do Re Mi.”
- I take back what I said about remlits.
- Motion controls once again my downfall. I’m trying to point the sword up, but Link will not follow me until my arm is completely arched over my head instead of straight up. I imagine from Fi and Gaepora’s point of view Link is just waving the sword around like a complete idiot.
- Between the sword fighting, the charging of the Goddess Sword, and all the flying, my arms are already sore. I better be ripped by the time this game is over.
- Okay, there was no chance to save any time from when I went to rescue Big Red to when I put on the green uniform. And Fi’s journey blocked all the save statues. I needed another save point in there.
- Fledge gave me a pouch, how sweet! Oh, he’s still talking down about himself. Okay, fine, I forgive him. My two goals for this game are to save Zelda and to find Fledge some self esteem.
Okay, that was my first session with Skyward Sword. I’m liking the story, but some of the controls are frustrating. I’m hoping it’s just a learning curve and I’ll get better as I go on. I know the Wii version had complaints about the controls, but I’m hoping some of it was fixed for the Switch.
Also Link is so cute!! I have to say, Link being so expressive is such a nice change from BOTW where he only makes expressions in certain situations, like when he’s taking a selfie, but he never makes any kind of expression when he’s talking to someone. It’s hard to read his character that way. But SKSW Link I feel I understand him more, and he has such a pretty smile. No wonder Zelda fell for him. XD

Heres a copy of a story i wrote in 9th grade.
A takeover of unreasonable measures, by jade.
It was a normal day, just like any other. I stood at my station in sector ⬽:➻. To pronounce it correctly, I’d have to tear out your tongue. But that's beside the point. I was scanning the travelers’ holo-passes as I did every day. I made sure they were fit for entry. If they weren’t, well, they got shoved into a disintegration chamber, which was just a massive and very intense tanning bed meant for giants, and were disintegrated on the spot. It was a simple job. It paid well and had good benefits. No insurance though. I was happy. Now, you see… today was not going to be normal. In any way at all. Because unbeknownst to me there was a fleet of ergon warships headed my way…
Just before my lunch break, I received a distress signal from a human named Wain:
“Help. If anyone can hear me, there's a fleet of *chrzch* warshi- *chrzch*headed for y- *chrzch*” That's what I remember him saying. There was a lot of interference but it sounded like a warship fleet was headed our way.  I didn't know what kind of madmen would try to invade this place. We were the most heavily protected sector in the galaxy. But it's better to be prepared than to be steamrolled by surprise. So I went to my weapons cache and retrieved my acidic sniper rifle. It was a nice long white gun, with a glowing neon green stripe along each side. The gun had a shape similar to a sideways vase with a handle on the bottom. My rifle, or the “mountain melter” as I called it was strong enough to create a hole in the side of a warship about the size of the old Mount Everest on Earth, and then continue to break apart the warship through the acidic properties of the bullet. It was the only one of its kind, as they stopped production after somebody destroyed the factory with said rifle. I ran up the stairs in my cramped workspace to my sniper nest and shut down the border. I laid down and set my scope to 300x zoom. I could see a small fleet of warships headed our way. I couldn't take a shot because I couldn't afford to miss and alert them that we knew they were there. At the pace they were moving, they would arrive in exactly 2 hours, 39 minutes and 46 seconds. I had to find the war captain and warn him.
I beamed down to the planet and approached the captains office doors. They were massive mahogany doors that opened into a gargantuan, cavernous room. I’d only been there once, when I'd been assigned to my station. But there were massive burns and cuts in the wall.- the kind that could only have been caused by a laser beam. I opened the doors and there he was. Dead. His limbs severed, his guts hanging out and his face mangled beyond recognition. I only knew it was him because of his uniform. I didn't have enough time to look because at that moment, a laser sword stabbed me through the arm. Any other sword would have caused me to bleed out, but a laser is superheated and instantly cauterizes the wound. I screamed in pain and turned to see none other than [3825968], our best swordsman. The swordsman himself, with his sword still stuck in my arm. He was an interesting character, a robot with human emotions. He didn't have a face but instead, a white sleek plate. He was tall and lanky, but that didn't make him look any less threatening. He was a streamlined type, a lot like the Japanese bullet trains on earth. He conveyed emotion by projecting emoticons onto his blank white face with a hologram projector built inside of him. He had the evil face emoticon projecting on his face. He was completely silent, without even a breath. I punched at his face and it changed from >:) to >:(. I could feel my knuckles shatter against his titanium skeleton structure. But the adrenaline and fear of death kept me going. I pulled out the sword with my other hand and sliced it through his right arm. It fell off in one clean motion and the exposed wires slowly merged. His face turned from >:(  to (ಠ_ಠ) and kicked me across the room. The impact was softened by the war captain’s corpse. I didn't have time to apologize because within a moment I was trying to keep [3825968] from tearing my face off. I managed to reach the captains desk and push a trapdoor button, causing me to fall down, down, down what felt like the longest fall ever, into the courtyard below. [3825968] fell after me and landed on his legs, which were far stronger than mine, and leapt towards me. I rolled away at the last second and kicked off his back panel, exposing his battery. He lunged at me three or four times and on the final lunge, and I managed to kick out his battery and shut him down for good.
I didn't know what could have made our most loyal swordsman turn against us, but I had a feeling it had something to do with the warship fleet heading our way.  At this point though, I had to worry about healing my wounds and not dying. Once I reached the medical bay I could see that [3825968] had already been there, but there were also other burns and holes in people. Holes that a sword couldn't have made. I didn't have time to think about it because I was starting to feel sick from the pain. I grabbed some morphine and quickly injected myself with it. Next was my arm wound, but there wasn't much to do about that other than disinfect and bandage it up. My knuckles were nearly shattered after blindly punching [3825968]'s metal face. So I got a hand cast. This cast allowed me to continue moving my fingers, because it was built specifically to keep bones together and allow continued hand use.
After I finished up in the medical bay, I headed out and found the warden's office. It was locked up tight and I could hear him crying on the other side. I guess [3825968] hadn't gotten to him yet. I knocked on the door and he yelped in surprise.
“Hey, it's me. I think we might be the only survivors of this attack. You don't know me, and I don't have a name, that you could say at least. I work at the border patrol in sector ⬽:➻”
The warden let me in and quickly closed the door behind us. He told me that the attack was worse than I had thought. The war fleet I had seen was on its way to take over our planet, and had already sent drop pods full of soldiers down to our planet, to soften our defenses before trying to negotiate an agreement. But we weren't going to stand down and let our planet fall to the enemy. It may be a craphole of a planet, but it's our craphole of a planet, dammit. So, the warden and I grabbed our weapons and headed out. I still had [3825968]’s sword but I had also grabbed my incendiary submachine gun, my subzero shotgun and of course, my trusty mountain melter. The submachine gun was of an interesting design, with a sheen black body and flames shooting out the sides. It had a simple shape, like a long pistol. Now the shotgun was of an old fashioned design. It was an almost wooden pattern with sky blue iron sights. The warden just had his massive bronze and green gauntlets and a lack of self preservation, a handy thing to have in this kind of place. So, without any regard for our surroundings, we ran headfirst into battle.
The warden's gauntlets were massive, around the size of the long extinct great dane dogs of earth. They smashed through the shields of the riot troopers, an enemy dressed in shiny sleek body armor, a lot like the design of [3825968] but they held large riot shields and laser batons. The warden's gauntlets smashed right through and blasted holes through the troopers. I took hold of my incendiary submachine gun and blasted away a small group of gunners, melting them on the spot. In my other hand I held my shotgun, which instantly froze the enemy in a block of ice upon being shot. So I took [3825968]'s sword and sliced the frozen figure into an ice sculpture of the headless horseless horseman, which means I just sliced off his head. Another drop-pod flew in, immediately crushing the warden. I shot it with my mountain melter and killed everyone inside. I didn't have time to mourn the warden because at that exact moment, a riot troop had their baton around my neck. It was red hot and I could feel the skin on my neck burning and peeling off. I managed to take hold of [3825968]'s sword and sliced through the troops waist. I took the shotgun, which was cold to the touch and pushed it against my neck to sooth the burns. I accidentally shot it off releasing an even bigger blast of cold onto my neck, and killed a random trooper nearby. My neck was freezing but it felt good on the burns. I was surrounded by riot troopers and a heavy gunner. The heavy had a massive suit of medieval looking battle armor, but it was new and mechanical, with a sleek design similar to that of [3825968]’s chassis. There was a generator on its back, probably it's only weakness. I didn't have a very clear shot, and my shotgun was out of ammo. The submachine gun was a terrible shot for accuracy, and I had to conserve ammo in my mountain melted, which I was going to need for my escape. I threw [3825968]'s sword at the heavy, it sliced right through the generator and blew up the heavy as well as at least 10 other troopers nearby. I shot the mountain melter down onto the ground and it melted instantly, causing me and every trooper in the city to plunge down into a cave system.
I survived by blasting the ground below with my submachine gun until it was melted slightly, enough that it would be soft. It would have burned me to a crisp on contact had I not landed with my braced hand. The brace was nearly indestructible and not even my mountain melter could break it. I landed softly and pushed myself off and out onto the cold dark cavern floor. I was sure the fight above had broken my tailbone. And the fall couldn't have helped at all. I stood, and I could feel the sharp pain of the bones piercing my rear. I had sent the entire city down into these caverns. I knew the medical bays wreckage couldn't be too far. I took ammo from every trooper I could find, and soon had enough to survive another fight. Every step caused agony in my rear end. I eventually found the wreckage of the medical bay, and put on an ass-cast(™). It set the bones in my tailbone back into position and would prevent any bullets from going up “main street.” It felt comfortable enough, and I could still maneuver well. I began my climb up onto the planet’s surface. Hopefully I can find a beaming station to teleport to a more civilized location on the planet, hopefully still untouched by the ergon corporation. Once I finished my climb I realized just how much I had damaged the city. It was gone. All of it. Every single building, every single person or creature had fallen and died in the pit. I had no hope of finding a beaming station. Unless one of the stray drop pods had one inside.
I headed for the closest drop pod I could see, maybe five clicks away. I kept my submachine gun out, just in case I ran into a stray trooper who had somehow escaped. It was an almost desert landscape, cracked ground and nothing to be seen other than the drop pod in the distance. I had a feeling I was going to find a trooper still in there, so I kept my gun pointing forward, safety off. I finally got there and carefully opened the door, only to find a small creature, one I called a frost hound. It was nearly pure white, and had glowing blue eyes that almost appeared to be aflame. It had light blue, jagged claws and light blue razor sharp teeth. It immediately jumped and snatched my gun out of my hand, crushing it instantly, like a kid crushing a can under his foot. All I had was my mountain melter and my shotgun, both of which would be useless. It was near impossible to get a hit with the melter, and any miss would cause my death. The shotgun was useless to me in this, because this hound could resist any form of cold, even in the form of a bullet. So I tossed my guns aside and punched the beast with my casted hand, shattering several of its teeth. It got angry at me and leapt, gripping the cast in its jaws and trying to tear off my arm. I kicked it in the stomach but the beast wasn't fazed. So I bit back, it was cold as hell-vÍti, the old norse underworld. This time the beast receded, so I bashed its face with my cast again and again, until it had a mouth of all gums. The beast wouldn't give up, and this time started swiping at me with it claws. If those made contact I was its next meal. I bashed each individual paw as they came at me, and eventually the beast had nothing else to hurt me with. So I simply lifted it off the ground, and threw it as far away as I could. I stepped into the pod, and accidentally pushed the wrong button, teleporting me directly onto the ergon mothership.
I was in a hallway of sorts,  it was a long, bright, white hallway with neon orange stripes on the walls. I heard footsteps coming down the hall and started to panic, because all I had was the mountain melter and my submachine gun, both of which could highly damage the interior of the ship and I did not want to die on this ship. I was going to have to be sneaky. I went into prone and took aim with the sniper, set it to a five-times zoom and waited for the trooper to turn the corner. The trooper never turned the corner. Instead they grabbed me from behind and confiscated my weapons. They had snuck up behind me after getting the beaming aboard alert. They dragged me by the shirt collar and tied me to a table. I knew they were going to interrogate me, likely with extreme measures. They wanted easy access to the planet, but dammit I wasn't going to give it to them. I still had my hand cast on, even though it was slightly dented from the frost hound attack. I slipped it off with a jerk of my hand and threw it at the gun cabinet, it exploded and killed the troopers, setting off the alarms.
My knuckles seemed to have healed enough to move my fingers without too much pain. I quickly ripped my arms through the ropes and grabbed my mountain melter, which had luckily survived the explosion. I knew what had to be done, and it broke my heart to know what I had to do. I took as much fabric and extra random trash I could find and shoved it down the rifle barrel until it was clogged. It would fire once more and explode releasing all its possible energy. It would destroy the ship, and every other ship nearby. Running to the pod bay, I took an elastic and put it over the trigger, I had about 20 seconds until the trigger was pulled so I threw the gun away from me and jumped into a pod, teleporting myself back to the planet. I looked up to where the ships were and saw a huge explosion of green. Tears began to stream from my face, my one possession. The only thing I owned. I had sacrificed everything I had to save the planet. My job was done. There were others far more fit to do my job. So, as you are listening to this story on this tape, I am dead. Dead inside not actually dead damnit. I plan to apply for a job at the dmv. One of the most mind numbing jobs in the universe.  *chzch beeeeep cxzchgzd.*

Before you pass out, can you tell us about any DNDsona’a you have?
(this is a week later hi)
by dnd sona do you mean, me as a dnd character or general dnd character ideas ive come up with? it doesnt matter all dnd characters are just supposed to be you projecting on someone with cool abilities anyway right (ive played like once)
i have a character that in order to make work i think i need to homebrew a race/creature for, but theyre called Shadow for now because it/they is a cluster of shadows given life. at one point i think i was playing with making Shadow’s story, an animation/etc “insert flexible mechanics here” spell gone rogue mid dungeon crawl and bringing to “life” or animating the shadows in the cave. Shade may or may not be the shadow cast by one of the dying party members and vaguely keeps the appearance and mimics the voice of that member, but has no memory or connection to them.
Tumblr media
[i.d. a black shadowy figure defined by a large brimmed, flat topped hat and glowing white eyes peeking beneath the brim. the rest of the figure is a vaguely veiled, humanoid shape. end i.d.]
a cool character but i dont know much about them, still at the “wouldnt it be cool” stage. would love to make them playable someday!
the second isnt... supposed to be a dnd character but i have a warlock named Dishwasher who is much more fleshed out (the name was supposed to be a placeholder and it kinda stuck because im terrible like that) heres everything you need to know about he/them:
Tumblr media
[i.d. a tired looking person with fire for hair is wearing a t shirt that says “i sold my soul to (eye emoji) and all i got was this lousy t shirt”. above them are the words “god wont let me die” in blue comic sans. end i.d.]
jk this character is cool, basically sold their soul but got a bad genie type deal out of it and now has to go around like some sort of cross roads demon getting other people to sell their souls too. blah blah blah, tons of character design changes and eventually they somehow destroy the system keeping them in place and escape with their boyfriend Argo. theyre basically ocs but with some tweaking Dishwasher would be an excellent dnd character
(funny enough i had NO art of shadow so slapped a scribble out for em, but for d.w. i had so much but all of it was memes or had argo in it so i made this terrible image instead. thanks brain)
i have several oc’s but almost none of them are dnd related/structured unfortunately. hope you like these two and dont mind the late reply, have a nice night!

Red Shoes - Analysis/Review
“You’re the most beautiful woman in the world… whether my eyes are open… or closed.” - Merlin
““But I’m still that Merlin inside.” - The one who grew. The one who changed, and learned to love himself and others for more than what’s on the outside. I know Snow is the main example of self love in this film, but Merlin provides a great example of this; something we don’t often see in male characters.”
--
So this film just released in North America, and I thought I’d share some thoughts and overall themes/metaphors from this film. But first, I’d just like to encourage you (if you haven't already) to go and support this film. It pretty inexpensive, and was made by an independent animation studio, which I think is absolutely amazing. Now onto the analysis!!
Love the concept of everyone being an adaptation of a fairytale character; adds to the society being shallow and appearance focus as a whole, as fairytales were traditionally focused on dichotomy and physical beauty.
The lighting, and really animation as a whole, is phenomenal for a film made by an independent studio. The shading and colour grading is a real standout, though. And the landscapes!! They feel really three dimensional, and gorgeous.
Tumblr media
[ID - A shot of a sunrise, beautifully lit behind a belltower - End ID].
Scoring/motif for the main villain is amazing.
Introduction to the protagonist is really not setup well. Did she actually get sent away from the palace? How long was she gone? How desperate is she to save her father? All of these questions are left unanswered, and no prominent character traits are shown through her first scene. She could be clever? All she did was change her hiding spot, so even that’s a stretch.
I hate the king’s narration. The dialogue is choppy, and repetitive in a completely irrelevant way.
The lore around the tree is really unclear. Why haven’t the shoes worked for Regina? Why do they work for Snow? Will they not regrow?
Love the transition scene to the dwarfs; makes it feel as though they’re just been walking listlessly since the spell was cast. Which, y’know, more or less true.
Tumblr media
[ID - A shot of the seven dwarfs walking together through the centre of a forest in midday, looking slightly dejected - End ID].
Love the fact the mirror points out that ‘wisdom’ and ‘kingdom’ don’t rhyme; I paused to point that out.
I will say that the action scenes are really well directed/choreographed. The camera flows really nicely, and always follows our protagonists (ooh, tying into the dichotomous nature of fairytales overall?), which makes the stakes and emotions feel higher/more personal.
The villain’s voice acting and dialogue is really sharp and entertaining. She feels like a real threat (and also uncannily similar to Gothel but).
Love the wooden front on their house disguised as a castle. Really nicely done metaphor for them clinging on to a cheap version of their pasts; refusing to move on, which is torn down when she arrives. Also ties in to the “what’s on the inside outweighs what’s one the outside” moral.
Tumblr media
[ID - The seven dwarfs’ house, which is a cave, with a wooden cutout shaped and painted like a castle sitting in front of it to give the illusion of a grander living space - End ID].
Can I also say I love that her first reaction isn’t insanely positive to her new appearance? In general, she just notes there’s been a change, which is a really nice subversion of the ‘overweight people have to be unhappy at the outset’ trope.
Her facial expressions are also really animated, which is something I’ve always loved (see Ariel, Anastasia, etc.), especially her eyes. Really well designed. Actually, all the expressions suit the characters’ personalities really well. Great job, animation department!
The fact that all seven dwarfs are names after popular mythical characters is really inventive (much more so than simply naming them after a character trait), as well as having their diverse fighting style be built from that, which I loved. Could even be allusions, but I don’t know enough about the original stories to say.
Hate the electric guitar of Prince Average. Highlights how much he doesn’t belong in this movie. His name is horribly uncreative, and his pop culture references break the forth wall, and aren’t funny, as they aren’t used properly. With him as the involved antagonist for most of the film, I can’t take the threat seriously. Other comic villains have been done so much better, such as Prince Charming from Shrek. The only valid line he has is about ‘dwarfs’ vs. ‘dwarves’; I never know which to use. “Finally, the big guns, thank you!” One more fourth wall break from this man I swear.
Love the added detail of the shoes not being able to be removed once you place value on the beauty they give. It’s hard to let go of that temptation; and if you don’t, you won’t be seen as your true self. It also highlights how she loves herself at the outbreak of the movie, and is therefore able to remove them freely. Also gets rid of the the deus ex machina of her shoes coming off freely in the water.
Wish we could’ve seen her doubt grow as she realizes they wouldn’t have helped her in her original form. Feels like we were a bit disconnected from her emotions. Which might not be a bad thing… if we assume Merlin in the protagonist.
Nice foreshadowing to her father being the bunny; if you know to look for it.
References such as ‘#blessed’, or ‘Pablo Picasso’, don’t work in the slightest. They serve no purpose, and aren’t funny simply because most would recognize them.
Normally I would make a note about Merlin and Snow having really standard, basic designs, but one, this animation studio is small, and on limited resources, and two, it, again, relates back to the shallow, uninteresting societal expectation of beauty that refuses to be unique.
Ahh, nice that apples are what trip the guards up in the chase scene through the market. Symbolic.
Love that she’s willing to defend the dwarfs even when she realizes they won’t help her in her original form. Again, wish we could’ve seen her emotions pertaining to that a bit more, although the reflection shot in the mirror (reflected from the shot at the start of the scene) was nice. Speaking of that, the broken, fragment reflection of her ‘fake’ self, is beautiful, because it isn’t a representation of herself, however at the end of the scene, we see the reflection in the same manner, but with her original self, but due to newly inflicted self doubt, we get a split second of that reality being fragmented too.
Tumblr media
[ID - Snow White frowning as she looks into a shattered mirror leaning against the wall of an alleyway in her society-dictated “beautiful” - End ID].

[ID - Snow White looking into the same mirror, frowning, and having removed the shoes, restoring her to her original appearance - End ID].
The three bears (I’m assuming an allusion to the Goldilocks mythos) don’t really serve any plot relevance… however they are cute, so make of their inclusion what you will.
Again, the scene where she exits the dwarfs’ home; it would’ve been great to see a shot of her internal conflict before she submits herself to giving up her freedom for Merlin and Arthur’s. Relating to that, I have noticed that the hostage situations have shockingly low stakes in this film. For instance, at the end, Merlin is simply held in a branch, and a second later, Snow is willing to give up her life to set him free.
The movie didn’t end up using this (which was a nice subversion of expectations), but if Merlin had used all his spells in the final battle, and needed just one more shot, it wouldn’t have been a deus ex machina, because we establish previously he has the one Snow gave him for luck. I assumed it’d comeback again, but turns out they just used it as a symbol (for having the flower, a symbol of outside beauty, float out of his hand), for him letting go of his shallow mindset.
Tumblr media
[ID - Snow White (wearing the shoes which change her appearance) smiles at Merlin, in his dwarf form. In his hand there’s a paper flower she folded from one of his spells - End ID].
Really love the joke about the mirror being hurt by smoke. Get it? Smoke and mirrors? Now that reference is funny; and also ties into the theme of false fronts/illusions. But not gonna lie, all that was an afterthought. It genuinely made me laugh.
Love that they rebuild the house too. It’s not beautiful, at least in a traditional sense. It’s cracked, uneven, but personal to them; they did it as a family. I’ll give the writers credit for so fully entrenching the theme into every frame and action. Nothing is meaningless in this film. Well, at least surrounding the protagonists.
Ooh, ooh, I could forgive the use of pop as their love motif if at the end, when there are no facades, it’s replaced by original scoring. I don’t remember that scene in all that much detail though.
The tree thing is… strange, I’ll admit, but considering Regina puts all her stock in the beauty which comes from the magic tree, it makes sense it’d be rooted into her magic in some way. The apple details are cool (notches shaped like seeds on the trunks), if nothing else, considering the scene with the three attacking is not investing the slightest, beyond some inventive attacks from Merlin (the action and attacks surrounding him aren’t executed all that poorly).
The directing in general is phenomenal in this movie; which is something I’ve been trying to put a bit more attention on lately.
Love small details like Merlin holding his back after the fight, circling back once again to the fact these characters are more similar than they realize (if you remember, that’s what she used as a cover when she first woke up).
Tumblr media
[ID - A shot of Merlin running, pressing a hand against his back as he does so - End ID].
Okay, I can suspend my disbelief for a lot of things in this movie, but when Snow dives into the lake, that surface tension would’ve seriously hurt her. If even some waves would’ve been added, it would’ve not only added suspense to the scene, but made it a bit more grounded as well.
“Who do you like more, Snow White or Red Shoes?” “Easy, it’s Red Shoes.” “Who does Red Shoes love more?” “Easy, it’s me. Wait… no. It’s you.” That line is by far my favourite from the film. I love that it shows his guilt. She’s chosen to love him despite his appearance, but he won’t do the same for her. And now he has to look in the mirror at that ugly part of his personality.
Tumblr media
[ID - At night, Merlin in his dwarf form stands beside Merlin in his human form. The dwarf version of him looks irritated as he looks up - End ID].
(Assuming Merlin named the rabbit, and if I’m being honest I didn’t pay attention to that) It’s sorta fitting to his character that he named it ‘Long Ears’ - a notably physical attribute.
While I do like that, just because the climax called for it, the sword didn’t suddenly lift from the stone, I really dislike that it was broken out by sheer force; which goes goes against the entire magic system/point of the sword and who gets to hold it.
Kronk as the magic mirror is hilarious. I want to credit the screenwriters for his lines… but I have a strong feeling it was mostly improv. Well done whoever is to credit for that.
Now this action scene, with Merlin being attacked by the tree roots, is insanely well done. For maybe the first time in this movie, I feel the suspense I’m intended to, and the setup and just character movement in general is really inventive. You feel his emotions and breath in this scene, which takes serious talent.
“How could she possibly want to save you more than she wants to be beautiful? Did you cast a spell?” - On a related note, I’m proud of this movie for not falling into the traditional ‘misunderstanding breaks up characters before the final battle’ (they technically do split up, but it’s the fault of Merlin’s unresolved selfish intentions rather than a petty matter) through Snow seeing the love spell, and assuming the worst even though Merlin never uses it.
The vines could be a metaphor as well; in this battle, they’re the shallow desires holding him back, while he, with the assistance of others, has to break his own way out (as shown by him using his lighting to crack a small hole in the doors (or exit) of the room.
Tumblr media
[ID - Merlin is running towards the “camera”, however, he looks surprised as a vine grabs his waist, and attempts to drag him back into the castle - End ID].
“I’m sorry, Snow White.” That’s the first time he uses her name; and he does it mentally; in a voiceover. It isn’t to impress her, or win a competition. It’s how he truly sees her now. Also, so beautiful how his motives go from being self centred, to focused on her; he changed because of her influence. It’s been done before, but that doesn’t make it any less meaningful here.
“You’re the most beautiful woman in the world… whether my eyes are open… or closed.” That wasn’t his final line (he survives), but if it was… that would’ve been so powerful. Still is, just in a different way.
“I kinda liked the short and green Merlin.” “But I’m still that Merlin inside.” - The one who grew. The one who changed, and learned to love himself and others for more than what’s on the outside. I know Snow is the main example of self love in this film, but Merlin provides a great example of this; something we don’t often see in male characters.
And I loved that it was a hug immediately after his spell is broken. He isn’t trying to gain anything, he’s just happy to be with her, which is super romantic.
Tumblr media
[ID - Both now restored to their original forms, Merlin and Snow White sit on the ground just outside the palace hugging each other, both smiling with their eyes shut. The king, and a few of the dwarfs stand in the background - End ID].
Onto a few of my favourite lines;
“I was worried about you!” “I was worried about me too. But- but mostly you!”
“If you could see the real me…” “I think I can see the real you… eyes open or closed, I still see Merlin.” What a great line. What a great theme. You don’t need to know the facts about someone, or see their original appearance, to know who they are. And I think that’s beautiful.
“Someone you’l be proud to be seen with.” “I think you’re right.”
“I thought that we were both under the same spell… but I was wrong.”
“He likes you more than he likes me,” as she looks down at the shoes.
“Who do you like more, Snow White or Red Shoes?” “Easy, it’s Red Shoes.” “Who does Red Shoes love more?” “Easy, it’s me. Wait… no. It’s you.”
“How could she possibly want to save you more than she wants to be beautiful? Did you cast a spell?”
“I’ve never been so glad to be chubby and green again.” - Because it means he’s not alone.
“I’m sorry, Snow White.”
“You’re the most beautiful woman in the world… whether my eyes are open… or closed.”
“I kinda liked the short and green Merlin.” “But I’m still that Merlin inside.”
I’ll just say, as an ending thought, that the 2D animation of their wedding is adorable.
Overall, I’d give it 8/10. Nothing phenomenal that was entirely groundbreaking, but there’s a lot of heart to be shown here, with some truly amazing characters, even if some of their universe isn’t all that intriguing. Would highly recommend.

so on Thanksgiving i saw Frozen 2 and it was AMAZING and I've only just now had the time and energy to finish my thoughts on the movie and share it with y'all so here it is. Disclaimer: Sorry for how long it is
!!!!! MAJOR FROZEN 2 SPOILERS AHEAD !!!!!!!!!
first, baby anna and elsa???? I’m dead
thjkhsdhjk the story they came up with is literally how every child played with barbie dolls and doll houses
(children are so dramatic also why did we all have the same childhood)
oooh mystery about the past
their dad is so dramatic now i know where Anna and Elsa get it from
four spirits: Earth Wind Air Water how original
(everything changed when the fire nation attacked)
(okay but while their dad was telling the story about the northedral (???) i was totaling believing this is where Elsa got her powers from)
THEIR DAD WAS SAVED BY THE VOICE
(but Elsa was born with powers so her mom is totally magical)
where the nORTH WIND MEEEEETS THE SEEEAAAAA
i love their mom omg i love this song also
(okay but at this point i was like??? did their mom save their dad)
ELSA IN PURPLE I LOVE HER
Elsa being startled and sticking herself to the railing with ice is comedic gold
ANNA’S HAIR I LOVE IT
why is Olaf’s never-ending existential crisis the most relatable thing in this movie
also i love this song about things never changing
hi the line about a stone wall never falling??? FORESHADOWING
KRISTOFF LOVES HER I LOVE HIM HE IS SO PURE
HE HAS A RING
Elsa singing about being afraid of change but seizing the day?? CHARACTER GROWTH
Arendelle flag will always fly??? FORESHADOWING
family game night??? i fucking love it
Olaf shouldn’t be allowed to play charades that way Anna is right
but Olaf imitating Elsa??? iconic
Elsa playing charades is me playing charades
THE VOICE
TELL ANNA ELSA
oooh Kristof honey don’t,, don’t do it like that,,, honey
if Elsa is comforted by their mom’s scarf where was their mom’s scarf in the first movie??
Anna singing Elsa to sleep????? so pure
THE VOICE (AGAIN!)
INTO THE UNKNOOOOOWWWWWWWN
i love this song
‘Everyone I’ve ever loved is here within these walls’ so she loves Kristof???? good me too
where does Kristof sleep?
THE SPIRITS!!! HER ICE IS SHOWING HER THE SPIRITS RIGHT????
oh its the part with the ice suspended in air from the trailer
EARTH AIR FIRE AND WATER
so um the fire went out and its windy and they’re going to the cliffs???? okay???
ummm Elsa did you awake the spirits on purpose??? did you know what you were doing?? you never said it was an accident????
Elsa you cant go alone you’re team has to go with you or else its not much of a movie now is it Elsa. don’t be selfish share some screen time
i just love their outfits so much i want to be a princess in Norway please and thanks
Olaf and his fun facts are literally me
ELSA’S ICE CASTLE THERE SHE IS i wonder if they ever go there. is it a vacation home
water has memory FORESHADOWING
‘Elsa and Olaf are asleep,,, whatcha wanna do?’ UM WHAT
’Sven, keep us steady’ UMMMMM WHAT
THIS IS A PG MOVIE I WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE NEXT TO MY TEN YEAR OLD COUSIN THANKS DISNEY
oh Kristof honey
oh no Anna he didnt mean it like that
Kristof stop just stop
ooooh the voice is back
‘Kristof stop’ ‘Good idea’ I’m dead
i don’t really remember what happens in between them stopping and them finding the mist if anything but THE MIST
oooh they’re locked in. nice
okay so wind. thats fun.
the wind spirit is v smart because she knows which one is Elsa
her name is Gale and i love her
hello water has memory
their father being saved by a young girl??? it’s their mom
okay so the northuldra (i googled it) begin to attack? or advance at least
ARENDELLE GUARDS
okay but lieutenant whats his name can get it
they’re frenemies
Olaf’s recap of the first Frozen is comedic gold i want him and Luis from Ant-Man to get together
i don’t really remember what happens at this part but: Elsa and Anna learn that their mom saved their dad (CALLED IT), their mom is northuldra (KINDA CALLED IT) and everyones been trapped in the mist since their grandfather was killed
(which that story is fishy but i don’t think king Elsa & Anna’s dad would lie so????)
OH WAIT FIRE SPIRIT HAPPENED BEFORE ELSA AND ANNA LEARNED ABOUT THEIR MOM
AND OLAF’S SONG OMG
samantha?
(that part was so simple yet so funny omfg)
olaf: “this will all make sense when i am older” all the adults in the room: :/
also notice how Elsa is mindful enough to keep the fire spirit away from the northuldra’s homes??? like i love her???
I LOVE HIM i think his name is Brunie but i don’t know how the people at the Disney Store came to that conclusion
oh also Kristof and Sven run in to save the reindeer but Anna is only worried about Elsa??? idk maybe she knows Kristof can take care of himself and knows that Kristof knows when it becomes too dangerous but Elsa is going to try to stop the threat until she physically can’t and at that point it may be too late okay i get it
(okay but if they’ve been trapped and nothing can get in or out what do they eat??? like theres a lot more northuldra than arendelle guards so do they have designated areas they’re allowed to go in?? what do they do with the people who died?? probably bury them)
(also some if them are born in there and they’ve been in for decades so a generation maybe the beginning of the next one but how many of them are related????)
Kristof has a new friend and I’m so glad they’re not fighting over Anna
(take that toxic masculinity)
HES GONNA HELP HIM PROPOSE I LOVE IT
Reindeers are better than people (cont’d.)
the following are my favorite parts/lines from Lost In The Woods
that guitar riff (?) at the very beginning? sexy
“you had to go and of course its always fine”
because Kristof loves Anna and knows that Anna loves him and they can do different things and still be in love and he doesn’t have to constantly be over her and controlling what she does
(take that toxic masculinity part TWO)
OKAY BUT Kristof saying its fine while simultaneously worrying that he’s losing Anna is absolutely breaking my heart
NORTH IS SOUTH RIGHT IS LEFT WHEN YOU’RE GONE
Kristof: “and i don’t know what path you are on” me: :((((
I NEVER THOUGHT IT WAS A QUESTION OF WHETHER
WHO AM I???? IF IM NOT YOUR GUUUYYY?????
WHERE AM I???? IF WE’RE NOT TOGETHEEEERRRRRRR??????? FOREEEEVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR
NOW I KNOW YOU’RE MY TRUE NORTH CAUSE I AM LOST IN THE WOODS
UP IS DOWN DAY IS NIGHT WHEN YOU’RE NOT THERE
YOU’RE MY ONLY LANDMARK SO IM LOST IN THE WOODS
WONDERING IF YOU STILL CARE
BUT ILL WAIT FOR A SIGN
(FOR A SIGN)
(peep the Queen reference)
THAT I’M YOUR PATH CAUSE YOU ARE MIN
UNTIL THEN IM LOST IN THE WOODS
this concludes my favorite parts/lines from Lost In The Woods
every time i type Lost In The Woods I wanna type Lost Into The Woods
okay SO
Olaf doing the siren call with Elsa is comedic gold
THEIR PARENTS SHIP OH MY GOD
peep Olaf with that gruesome “maybe there was nobody on board” when they asked how the ship was able to get through the mist
peep Olaf with the “why didn’t they just make the whole ship waterproof”
THEY WERE GOING TO FIND WHERE THE NORTH WIND MEETS THE SEA THE RIVER FILLED WITH MEMORIES
THEY WERE GOING FOR ELSA
WATER HAS MEMORY BITCH
ELSA BBY ITS NOT YOUR FAULT
LISTEN TO ANNA YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR CHOICES
so they go to the river
(low-key thought that was their goal the whole time but its fine)
ELSA!!! ANNA AND OLAF HAVE TO GO WITH YOU WHAT ARE YOU DOING
if Disney doesn’t make the ice-canoe part of the Frozen Ride in Epcot in some way shape or form i will be deeply disappointed
uh oh rock giants
oh waterfall
cave
thats fun
ah Olaf always the optimist
(but where did Anna get flint?)
Anna’s hair??? i love it
oooh Elsa on the beach
she can’t get her shoes or coat wet i understand
PONYTAIL?????
GO BITCH
YAAASSS QUEEN USE THOSE ICE POWERS
oh shit that water horse is trying to drown her
what the fuck he’s actually trying to drown her
AH SHIT ITS ELSA’S WATER HORSE NOW
YAAASSSS BITCH
sdahjhdskjhdsjk
ITS A GLACIER BECAUSE WHY FUCKING NOT
every inch of me is trembling
SHOOWW YOURSELLLF
ELSA HAS A DUET WIHT HER MOMN
IM FINE
ELSASN IS TBHE FIFHT SPRIT
THE BRIDGE
ELSA’S NEW OUTFIT AND HER HAIR I WANT
WATER HAS MEMORY
Elsa destroyed Han’s memory I’m dead
OH SHIT KING RICHARD (Elsa & Anna’s grandfather, i don’t remember his name)
KING RICHARD IS AFRAID YAASSS QUEEN TELL HIM ELSA
WAIT ELSA
GO TO FAR AND YOULL BE DROWNED
ELSA WAIT
oh shit she jumped
OH SHIT SHES COLD BUT THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED HER ANYWAY
OH SHIT KING RICHARD KILLING THAT GUY FOR NO REASON
OH SHIT ELSA’S FROZEN
BUT SHE SHOT OUT ONE LAST ICE THINGY
we now return to this episode of Olaf and Anna Alone In A Dimly Lit Area With A Little Bit Of Fire
YAASSS ANNA GOT THE MESSAGE
BREAK THE DAMN
but Arendelle
OLAF
why isn’t that when Olaf and Anna are alone one of them is always dying
now i understand the no context memes featuring spider-man from Infinity War
okay so you’re telling me that Anna learned that her sister is frozen (pun intended) and Olaf dies in her arm and she still finds the energy to save Arendelle/the forest???
GO ANNA YOU GO GIRL ITS GONNA BE ALRIGHT
DISNEY CAN’T KILL ELSA AND OLAF THEY’D LOOSE TOO MUCH MONEY
oh shit the rock giants
KRISTOF TO THE RESCUE
AND SVEN OF COURSE
WHAT DO YOU NEED I LOVE HIM
THEY BROKE THE DAMN
OH NO ANNA DONT FALL
ANNA GET OUT OF THERE
LIEUTENANT WHATS HIS NAME AND KRISTOF SAVE ANNA TOGETHERDSKJAD
ELSA AND THE WATER HROSE THEY SAVE ARENDELLE SYDJHASDJKFHSDA
the Arendelle citizens literally are so hilarious to me all they know is: the spirits are mad and all the heirs to their thrones went on a dangerous journey to save their kingdom, with no guards to protect them, then a tidal wave comes rushing towards their homes and suddenly their Queen who has always been quiet, modest, and reserved comes riding in on a fucking water horse in a boss ass outfit with her hair down and saves the kingdom. like???? imagine being on that cliff??? and all they do is clap???? I’m so dead
poor Anna :((( but Kristof is doing his best to comfort him like i love him
ELSA GO TO HER ANNA GO
THEY’RE CRYING CAUSE THEYRE SO HAPPY KJDASDHSJKHFJKSAD
ARENDELLE IS SAVED ANNA ITS OKAY
OLAF IS SAVED ANNA ITS OKAY
KRISTOF PROPOSED IN THE DORKIEST WAY BUT ANNA’S REACTION WAS THE CUTEST I LOVE IT
(WATER HAS MEMORY)
ELSA STAYS AND ANNA IS QUEEN
CUT TO ANNA’S CORONATION AND THE NEW STATUE AND THE ENCHANTED FOREST IS ICE NOW AND ELSA HAS A WATER/ICE HORSE AND GALE HELPS ANNA AND ELSA COMMUNICATE AND THE ROCK GIANTS ARE NICE AND BRUNIE IS STILL THE CUTEST AND ANNA AND ELSA STILL HAVE FAMILY GAME NIGHT
(okay but did anyone else find it odd that Elsa didn’t go to Anna’s coronation)
(also the Northudral are just totally fine with living in ice and snow and cold now too??? idk i guess Elsa asked first but whatever its not like they can say much she’s the fifth spirit so)
Olaf wearing clothes has me dead
Anna: tells Kristof she likes him “better in leather” me: when does he wear… leather :O (Anna’s freaky yo)
final thoughts: Amazing movie, the constant shade of Hans was absolute gold, Kristof is so pure, Anna and Elsa’s relationship is so amazing, everyone’s character growth is absolutely amazing
if you read all of this, bless you child I’m so sorry it was so long

HS^2 bloggin’ mainline 2020-02-24
IT’S ONLY BEEN TEN FUCKING DAYS HOW OFTEN ARE WE GONNA GET THIS STUFF
IT’S NOT EVEN A BONUS IT’S SOME MAINLINE THING
Alright, clicking the log to find my place as usual (while squinting so I don’t see too much), I see... one new page... THAT’s ominous.  Unless they’re doing the thing Andrew used to do and only showing the surface link so as not to spoil the update length/contents in the log, which would be nice given the new site format.  (Also I’ll be covering the commentary for the previous chapter here that went up on Patreon.)
Tumblr media
...um.  what?
Well, it doesn’t say [S]...
> Chapter 5. YOUR 3Y3S H4V3 B33N CLOS3D
CONTENT NOTE: This chapter contains Discussions of Suicide.
Thanks.
...I kinda understand the need for inclusion of this, though.  Not the trigger warning, that’s genuinely appreciated, I mean the working-through of many of these characters’ probably suicidal-verging thoughts given the bullshit the Epilogues have put them through, and the leadup events thereof.  Or, from the looks of this page trying to lay out how to create these new alien races, clearly based in part on pages of her Zoologically Dubious grimoire...
Tumblr media
...the creations THEMSELVES wanting to commit suicide, if I had to guess.
(Hooves?  Dirk.  Don’t let this become a Musclebeasts VS Horrorterrors session.  Whoever wins, we clearly lose.)
Tumblr media
*scrooooll*
Ohh, I get it.  It’s a single really long-form story-image to montage the process to us, instead of a series of panels.  THAT’S why it’s a one-page upd8.
Tumblr media
What are you clowns doing?  (And that architecture and teal road below it is looking kind of Land of Thought and Flow-y too.)
Tumblr media
Hah, poor Rose, just float-noping on out of there cause Dirk’s pushing his whole Cave-shadows-on-the-wall allusion.  Are you getting bored of this monstrous process, Rose?  Yes?  No??
Tumblr media
Taking a floatwalk across the gorgeous alien landscape?  (Wait, your robot floats without rocket boosters? Neat. Is that technology or God-Tier flight? Did it need to be a fancy robot to integrate the latter or was that just yours for free?)
What will she run into to make sense of the title of this chapter-panel?
Tumblr media
...Wait.
Did Terezi run back to the ship to snoop on that thing Dirk had been hiding while he and Rose were distracted?
I hope that’s what she did.
Tumblr media
Eeeewww.  It looked MUCH cooler when your human eye did a magic sun thing.
Tumblr media
Yes, yes, you have a technosight HUD, that’s no excuse, your magic was still cooler.
Tumblr media
The whimsical wandering angle of this shot makes it unclear whether Rose is flying ahead while looking into the sky, or has suddenly flopped forward onto her face on a pale patch of ground.
Ooh, and now we have text! ...Which makes it unlikely that Terezi successfully snooped anything important unless Dirk would narratively let her.  Shit.
Wait, the command for this page might make sense if she was using the command terminal in the ship to mess with Dirk or someone else, possibly to give her the opportunity to pull something.  Right?
The soft whitenoise ringing of the extensive ventilation network sounds, if she closes her nose just right, like the rustle of wind through the leaves of a treehive universes away.
...closes her nose.  ¬___¬
but Terezi isn’t distracted from the main object of her focus — the unconscious body of Rose Lalonde, bathed in dim light, chest rising and falling in an artificially-induced slumber.
Good.  Her body had better fucking stay alive for a while.  They killed Davebot’s outright, since he was an “extra”, essentially -- Rose’s needs to stay alive if we’re to have fucking hope that Kanaya can snatch her up in a comfortable non-robotic embrace and get her out of this self-centered, brainwashed nightmare.
Wires and tubes run up from her plinth to the ceiling of the chamber, keeping her alive, yes, but too much just for that purpose. Something about the tangle of intravenous tubing and fiber optic cable makes Terezi think of the old stories about the Ψiioniic.
Mhmm.  She has to stay connected to and pilot her body.
ROSE: There you are. I haven’t seen much of you. TEREZI: IV3 B33N R1GHT H3R3 FOR HOURS TEREZI: BUT YOUR 3Y3S H4VE B33N CLOS3D TH3 WHOL3 T1M3 >:[
--Oh.  I’d misremembered the chapter name as “your eyes are NOW closed”.  So it probably wasn’t some sort of trick.  (Unless she’s lying here, and tricked Rose into THINKING her body wasn’t kind of half-awake for a moment, potentially rebelliously? .....nah.)
Better question, though...
Why does Terezi care so much?
I can imagine the old Terezi getting attached enough to Rose (and Kanaya) to look at this and feel bad enough to stare, but...?  She used her emotional distance from most of her remaining friends to vamoose with these people a long while ago.  (Which was a pity.)  How did those feelings and that empathy get resurrected way out here?
Rosebot turns her head to look back at the frail, failing vessel that once housed her consciousness. She doesn't even dispatch a fake laugh to her behavioral display matrix in pity of this half-joke.
Fuck you.  Dirk is writing half of this.
ROSE: Your attachment to my comatose body is unexpectedly charming, as well as slightly sinister. ROSE: She isn’t going to do anything. ROSE: She isn’t coming back from where she’s gone. TEREZI: YOU N3V3R KNOW
Does Terezi really care about Rose that much now?
Also, fuck you, Dirk-manipulating-Rose’s-worldview.
I mean, I know she’s probably really deep into all her new power and foresight, even as herself, but she wouldn’t be nearly as dismissive and comfortable if Dirk hadn’t been shaping her with mind control for years.
ROSE: Yes, I suppose that’s true. ROSE: Anything can happen, you can’t see the future, etc. etc. ROSE: Except I can. I can see the trajectory the story needs to take, and thus I know the trajectory it will take. ROSE: And resurrecting my meat puppet would not only be difficult to the point of being worthless, it would also be extremely lame. ROSE: Not that it would be out of character for this story. We live and breathe on the stupefyingly mind-numbing, and the mind-numbingly stupid.
They’re REALLY pushing her as a full fucking villain here.  Benefits of transcending human flesh aside, she’s being WAY too dismissive of what she’s leaving behind, here.  What came with this body besides the body itself.  The attachments and Blood it means relinquishing and severing.
TEREZI: 1F WH4T YOU'R3 S4Y1NG 1S TRU3 TEREZI: 1F 4 STORY H4S TO B3 COMP3LL1NG TO B3 C4NON TEREZI: DO YOU R34LLY TH1NK D1RK 1S TH3 TYP3 TO T3LL 4 COMP3LL1NG STORY

Rose has stared into the sun so hard that she is LITERALLY BLIND.  “It didn’t happen because it didn’t happen” is the worst, most basic and wrong level one Seer of Light thing she could possibly believe.  She has completely fucking FORGOTTEN that she played through an entire game session that was clearly trying to TELL her something.  TEACH her something.  And is dismissing everything at play back then, everything that MADE reality and the final timeline what it WAS, as something at worst meaningless or just plotpoints in a subpar story, and at best a failed moral tale that she thinks she would write better in her sleep.  She’s like... worse than inverted Rose right now.  Where’s all this new Lighty wisdom she’s supposed to have?  Jasprose is showing more foresight and prudence in the bonus chapters than she is as a PURE ultimate self, thanks to her own twisted ambitions and Dirk’s horse-blinders.
TEREZI: JUST B3C4US3 YOU'V3 3L3CT3D TO 4B4NDON TH3 CONC3PTS OF "GOOD" 4ND "B4D" 3NT1R3LY DO3SN'T M34N 1 DON'T ST1LL H4V3 MOR4L R3S3RV4T1ONS

I didn’t expect the “Why would anyone read this crap?” line so early in the story.  Still, this sequel WAS designed to both ask and answer this question... I shouldn’t be so surprised.
TEREZI: YOU D1DN'T DO MUCH "WORLDBU1LD1NG" WH3N YOU FUCK3D OFF FOR 3ONS 4ND L3T CH3SS P3OPL3 BU1LD YOUR PL4N3T ROSE: That approach failed. ROSE: Without an organized antagonistic force, the planet became fundamentally unsuited to relevance.
YOU FUCKING MORONS
THE GOAL OF MAKING A NEW UNIVERSE OUTSIDE OF CANON WAS TO ESCAPE RELEVANCE FOR PEACE!
Everything New Rose says makes me want to throttle her.  :(
ROSE: We only know of one way to perpetuate canon for sure. To play and defeat the game, and continue the life cycle of the genesis frog we cling to parasitically.
WHY is “perpetuating canon” EVEN A GOAL
WHY if it isn’t even WORTH anything???
ROSE YOU SOUND LIKE A CASH-IN-HUNGRY MOVIE PRODUCER
ROSE: Now it is protected, in the steady hands of a duly-elected ruler, sure to have a boring and uneventful perpetual term in office.
Oh my GOD, Rose.  You thought leaving Racist Jane in charge was going to just be peachy?
ROSE: As the sheer number of doomed universes our actions in the game spun off should show, we barely understood the design at the time. ROSE: Truly, we stumbled through the tape of the finish line ass-first, cheating all the way.
I suppose I can agree on a small sliver of this, a tangent -- one of the same reasons I was so surprised when Homestuck’s finale closed so few threads:
You all clearly didn’t have time to learn enough lessons.
ROSE: But there was no table of judges waiting to adjudicate our performance by holding up little placards with numbers on them. ROSE: We are the observers, and we are the judges. ROSE: We won, and to the victor go the spoils. ROSE: If you want a hand in making the rules of this new world, then don't storm off.
Terezi knows better than this.  The trolls “WON” with this attitude, and were hoisted on the resulting petard.  Ah, there we go, and she’s saying just that:
TEREZI: YOU'R3 TRY1NG TO L34D M3 TO 4CC3PT YOUR MOR4L FR4M3WORK TEREZI: WH4T 1F NO ON3 SHOULD CONTROL 4 UN1V3RS3 TEREZI: 4LL W3 FOUGHT 4G41NST W4S MONST3RS WHO CONV3RT3D POW3R 1NTO CONTROL TEREZI: 4ND NOT 3V3RYTH1NG W3 LOST F1GHT1NG TH3M W4S 4 M1ST4K3 TEREZI: TH3R3 W4S 4 LOT S4CR1F1C3D FOR TH3 1D34 OF "GOOD" TEREZI: WH4T'S TH3 PO1NT 1N CONT1NU1NG TH1S STORY 1F TH4T W4S M34N1NGL3SS TEREZI: 1F LORD 3NGL1SH W4S JUST HOLD1NG UP TH3 WORLD TEREZI: 1F 1T T4K3S 4CT1NG L1K3 H1M TO K33P 1T 4L1V3 TEREZI: WOULDN'T 1T B3 B3TT3R TO JUST L3T 1T D13
...but that crazy, ruled-over multiverse they ended up escaping is exactly what we think they’re going to end up CREATING in this story, right?  A contained loop of countless universes that follow the same rules they fought so hard to shrug off, many enslaved and miserable under Lord English’s rampaging thumbs?  In trying to do it “better” her own way, Rose is going to possibly end up creating the exact system she once tried to reject.
Congratulations!  You’ll have created a prison.  For your Ultimate Villain, AND yourselves.  I just hope you come to your senses and dodge getting trapped inside there again.
Rosebot looks over at the plinth where her body sits, kept alive, sure, but atrophied and weak, dependent on this machine to continue projecting consciousness to the abiotic enclosure keeping the realization of the Ultimate Self from tearing her apart.
Wouldn't it be better to just let it die? Terezi isn't asking new questions. Rose had first threatened suicide when she was eight.
Ah, damn.  That’s the route we’re going with this conversation, huh.
I was wondering whether keeping Rose’s body alive was “necessary” for the functioning of this particular level of robo-self tech, or whether it’s the last vestige of her vacillation, refusing to cut it off completely yet only because some NON-FUCKING-BRAINWASHED piece of her is wondering if she’ll eventually decide that all this isn’t “right” after all, that she can accept being “less” if it makes her happy.
Explaining things to someone not aided by the exponential increase in processing power Rosebot has is tedious. Terezi's hesitation won't be swayed by explaining more of the universe. There's another source at work.
Source?  What?
ROSE: You said it yourself, that you don't give a shit. ROSE: This melancholy, this meaninglessness you're feeling? ROSE: I think there's another explanation for it. One having little to do with the structural soundness of our plan.
Oh, THAT kind of source. Fuck you, psychoanalyzing anybody else when you’re like THIS right now.
ROSE: You are fucking depressed. TEREZI: OH TH4NK YOU DOCTOR SC13NC3 TEREZI: L3T M3 T4K3 OUT MY HUM4N CH3CKBOOK TO P4Y YOU FOR TH3S3 1NV4LU4BL3 HUM4N 1NS1GHTS
How would you have the slightest impression that Terezi ISN’T completely aware of this, Rose?  Why do you think she CAME with you???
ROSE: The constant insistence that everything is as it ought to be isn’t just counterproductive, it’s pathetic.
Oh, you think she’s projecting.  Fuck you.
ROSE: From one seer to another, we both know how bad you’ve gotten in the past. ROSE: Or, if not in the past, in some past. ROSE: I have no desire to meet that Terezi, no matter how doubtlessly sticky and charming she might be.
Eugh.  It’s interesting that you know so thoroughly about non-blind faygo-chugging Terezi from that timeline (who Terezi fully knows about too), but using it against her is pretty low.
TEREZI: W3 4R3N'T FR13NDS TEREZI: GO 4H34D 4ND DO YOUR 4RTS 4ND CR4FTS PROJ3CT W1TH P3OPL3'S L1V3S
But she DOES keep staring at Rose’s life-support body...  so she DOES care somehow.
ROSE: Your life is going to be short, compared to mine and Dirk’s, but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. TEREZI: TH3 TWO OF YOU R34LLY 4R3 M4D3 FOR 34CH OTH3R
:C
Just, a tragedy what an asshole she’s been transformed into.
TEREZI: 1S TH4T WHY YOU L3FT K4N4Y4 B3H1ND TEREZI: B3C4US3 YOU KNOW SO FUCK1NG MUCH 4BOUT "F4M1LY" ROSE: I would be careful if I were you. ROSE: The weight of what I know and you do not is enough to overwhelm a mortal frame. TEREZI: UGH SHUT UP TEREZI: STOP PULL1NG TH1S MYST1C4L BULLSH1T 3V3RY T1M3 TEREZI: DON’T YOU M1SS H3R? ROSE: Don’t you? TEREZI: YOUR CONST4NT D3FL3CT1ON 1S 4S PO1NTL3SS 4S 1T 1S 1N3FF3CT1V3
Yeah, Terezi looking at Rose’s body and seeing constantly that crime committed against Kanaya is enough excuse to stare at Rose’s floating body, if she cares about Kanaya.
Too bad Rose is incapable of even THINKING about Kanaya properly as long as Dirk’s influence persists, and Terezi practically or literally knows it.
ROSE: We are obliged to act. To save the concept of meaning itself by continuing to spin the narrative loom into new tapestries.
Said the movie producer plonking down for the creation of Fast 7.
TEREZI: D1D YOU W4NT 4LL TH1S? TEREZI: OR D1D TH3 PR1NC3 >:?
Abruptly, Terezi is lifted from the ground with a glidingly-smooth effortless motion. Metal is so much stronger than flesh. She flashes a sharp-toothed grin as her feet dangle uselessly in front of the lithe metallic form of her counterpart Seer. Inspiring a reaction like this from Rose's robotic placidity has been like squeezing blood from a stone on this years-long journey.
Delicious, candy-red blood.
Oh hell fucking yes.  Is THIS what you were after, you beautiful troll?  Terezi just proved that SOME deep level of Rose has recognized that she’s being manipulated, and refuses to accept it for the sake of her own ego.  She couldn’t possibly get so ANGRY otherwise.  :D
ROSE: I know what I have lost. I have taken a full account of it. I cannot and will not forget it. ROSE: But to cling to it as it faded to nothing would be a meaningless capitulation to entropy.
Why do you value “perpetuation” so much?  She asked you before, and you barely gave a straight answer.
ROSE: Someone must sit atop Olympus and propagate the fabric of reality upon which these memories sit. ROSE: That is the task we have taken on. The game does not feel. The game does not mourn. The game must be played, and we must guide those who will play it better than we ourselves were guided.
DID it need YOU though?  You already had a universe under your belt.  YOU didn’t have to be the one to cause all this.  But I suppose it’s too late now -- you will be, and you might end up regretting it.
ROSE: Just as I have remembered the good, I can recall the terror that consumed me and overwhelmed my body. ROSE: The visions of dissolution. The narrative unspooling. A thousand voices shouting contradiction. ROSE: What value is a marriage, temporary domestic bliss, if all is lost? ROSE: You understand this bargain.
Yeah-- it’s pretty clear here now.
The heroes’ goal in the initial comic, and the reward they earned -- while unclear on paper and DEFINITELY not spelled out -- was to “stop being Homestuck”.  Was to escape the bounds of the comic, to almost KILL the comic.
But that was a little vaguely put, before.  HS^2 has done us the favor of making it an EXPLICIT GOAL of the heroes.
ROSE: Is your resentment towards my choice about Kanaya, or about V–
BONK. Rosebot's even metallic voice is interrupted by the bang of skull against metal, and Terezi's headbutt collapses the both of them into a crumpling heap of metal and flesh.
That was a step too far. Tensions that once simmered under the surface have found the catalyst for a boil.
Terezi’s barely holding on if she’s going to get so dramatic so fast.
Or Dirk’s writing this so dramatic, anyway.
Rosebot finally has Terezi pinned to the ground by the throat. A cool metallic knee is pressed hard between her legs, holding her down. A natural pause in the staccato squabble is found, and two pairs of red eyes are locked on each other.
Oh God, don’t <3< please.
TEREZI: 1 T4K3 1T B4CK TEREZI: TURNS OUT 1 ST1LL 3NJOY T4LK1NG TO YOU >:]
Ah, shit.  Weakness for Light players, huh.
Rosebot leans in close. Terezi can smell the licorice-black lipstick, the same kind as always, applied now to synthetic polymer lips inches away from her own. Rosebot's metal fingers close just a little tighter around her neck–Woah, woah, woah.
I fiddle with some advanced speciation machinery for a few hours and then come back to this?
...yeah, you can’t get into Terezi’s sex life without a bit of choking and breathplay I guess.
You people are here for logic. Systems. Weird plot shit. Lore. Not this.
Hm.
I have mixed feelings about this possibly-sarcastic point of view of his.  And that’s coming from someone who was fuck deep in those systems and frustrated as hell that Andrew worked them out but never explained them or made their (at least I believe) hidden importance clear.
Quit out of your browser, slam the laptop closed and punt it into the ocean. That shark is probably hungry after all the jumping.
You won’t, though. If you were going to quit you would have quit before this. We’re in this for the long haul, you and I. We’ll all go down together. Welcome to ‘Nam.
...yeah.  :C
I'll just get a head start on my species, then. It's only the fate of a new planet on which the weight of saving the universe lies.
Did Dirk never get the memo that Calliope and fucking Caliborn were born on Earth C millions of years hence???
Your universe’s “relevance” is safe, my dude.  You’re just making excuses to rule the narrative.
And... that’s it!  For this update, anyway.
Let’s cut over to the commentary for the last one, which I expect will be touching on and lampshading just how much of an amoral dick move Rose and Dirk are making with the entire live-draft species creation process.
Sketches and Commentary: Chapter 4, The Contest
Oh, two members of the writing team are discussing this one.
Plenty of appreciation of the art of the alien planet, apparently art-ed by Gina.
--Yes, I agree, Terezi probably wouldn’t be the best at parallel parking.
Oh right, I should skip most of the fluff y’all would see if you paid and get just any plot important discussion, let’s skip past some ogling of Rose’s pretty well-designed robo-form and its first onscreen appearance...
(Xam’s designs are GREAT all around.)
A1: The imagery is, admittedly, a little heavy-handed. Terezi leaving the cave for the light, the other two remaining in the darkness to talk endless circles around each other.
Heh.
...There are some seriously good jokes here.
--OH! I finally get to figure out why Dirk’s hand was glowing all weird when he slammed the “map”: ......nope, they just talk about how big his yaoi hand is.
A1: I guess this means we’ve sort of canonized Dirk’s Texas accent? a2: yeah, but i think this was a foregone conclusion. the dude lived in post-apocalyptic texas, and he's ABSOLUTELY the sort of person to adopt a long-dead accent for no reason other than historical accuracy.
That’s fair.  (Yes, I included that for plot relevance. Totally. ...I really need to be a lighter touch with how much I include of these things that isn’t helpful to actually understand what the fuck is going on with the actual plot/characterization, here, this was real borderline.)
i think we could stand to talk more about the writing at this point.
JESUS CHRIST THANK YOU
we sort of go in drunken circles of Dirk and Rose trying to out-bullshit each other and convince themselves they’re doing the right thing.
--which was obvious to everyone, but.  Still appreciated to see it spelled out.  Seeing our points of view validated like this helps us stay sane through the bullshit, a golden promise of eventual reprieve and vindication.
a2: we tried something a little different for the writing process of this update, which is that for large sections of the dialog we just rp'd the characters a2: andrew copied large sections of early homestuck from personal chatlogs with friends, and i always thought that lent it a special kind of humor and rapport that can be hard to capture by yourself. i think this approach worked pretty well for us.
It REALLY is an effective way to write dialogue for these sorts characters in particular!  Heck, I’m kind of helping someone else do exactly that.  It’s pretty fun!  There are chapters and chapters out by my understanding, having diverged from such a focus on the central character I’m playing but using our logs as a guide... none of which I’m allowed to read, not even the FIRST chapter, so as not to spoil me with the surrounding narration and added revelations.
...What?
You expected me to tell you what it is? Where to find it?
No.  :)
(Maybe later.)
A1: Moving right along. We see more of Dirk’s casual manipulation of Rose’s mental state, that he rationalizes away. It’s not actually that bad if she was going to agree anyway, right?
Mhmm.  Hard to watch.
a2: [...] but it's a large part of what this chapter is about. a2: what is the right thing to do when you're functionally omniscient? a2: or omni...whatever these kids are. A1: Yeah, the question of whether morality actually has anything to do with running a system like this. Can god be moral? a2: and of course, that's kind of the same question that i ask myself a lot when writing. authorship is a peculiar thing.
That last part is pretty key about the story this entire thing is trying to tell.  A story about the morality of how one goes about creating a story.  A just story.  And if what’s created even has value.
a2: i was responsible for the animation on the sprite panels, which was fun. it's obviously imitating andrew an awful lot, but i think that lends it an aura of homestucky authenticity. andrew is low-key really good at animation.
Yeah, he really, really is.  His keyframing and the devices he used to communicate what was physically happening were really tight.  I always appreciated that.
a2: aaaaand one last gina panel to finish with. rose may have had her doubts about this contest at first, but as soon as dirk made a little creature with tentacles she's like, fuck it, this is all i've ever wanted actually.
:(
A bit sparse on the detail I was looking for once shit started to get horrific, the implications and such... but I can understand that.
Maybe when we get to the second and third place draft aliens, we’ll actually see a hint of a moral crisis in them.  At least a tiny one.
Arrite, that’s it.  See y’all next time.  I’ll wait to blog the commentary on the past bonus chapter whenever the next bonus chapter is up for blogging.

GARVEZ STORIES
THINK LIKE A PROTON
Luke looks around. -I didn't think we should have to go even to this kind of convention.- they are surrounded by stands a little different from those of the last time. Strange stills, models that reproduce not only our solar system, giant screens that show simulations of epic proportions.
Penelope drags him by the hand. At least this time they didn't have to disguise themselves, the man thinks. -Why?- she asks, not naturally giving him time to even think of an answer. -I'm a scientist.- she reminds him. -Informatic, but still a scientist.- she likes to underline, stopping in front of the entrance to the area dedicated to the absolute genius of Leonardo da Vinci. That, like us, was a vegetarian, she told him, as they were heading here.
Worrying about the presence of so many other people (even in this case mostly they are nerds, although not everyone has the typical and stereotypical appearance of them) Luke grabs her by the waist and pushes her against his muscular body. -I could never forget you're a genius.- he whispers in her ear.
Penelope shudders, but is quick to recover. -Better this way. And then, what are you complaining about?- she turns to face him. -You are also a scientist!- it sounds like an accusation. -Do you have a degree in geology or have I dreamed of it?- it is not really a question thrown there, because, because of her fervent imagination, more than once she has dreamed things, even stupid, convincing herself of having actually lived them.
But the man nods. -No, it's true. It's that I tend not to remember it...- he looks away, not just physically -...it's so much that I don't go exploring a cave, or that I don't use a hammer... I mean one of the special ones, not the classic type for put pitons.- he hastens to specify, and he seems to have returned to the university.
-I know.- she answers with a convinced tone. This scene is followed by a pause due to the contemplation of the ornithopter, one of the first prototypes of an airplane, which cannot but make her think of the myth of Icarus, who died precipitating because he wanted to fly too close to the sun and the wax that kept the wings attached to his body melted. -I listen to what you tell me.- she adds as if half a second had passed.
-It seemed to me to pick up some nuances of reproach.- Luke replies, already though with half mind on the next reproduction, a kind of Renaissance tank, which however has the appearance of an alien spaceship, with that dome shape that ends in a tip, a kind of crushed cone. But all those cannons that sprout around the circumference clarify its certainly not harmless nature.
-Nuances?- the woman asks him, with a grimace on her face. It was not nice to find out (thanks to Da Vinci's demons) that the Genius had used his own excellent mind even for such works. Many inventions and designs later, the couple come out without words. Now they understand why there are those who consider him an alien, and Rossi's joke: After Da Vinci the world could have ended up. If you think about what he has created, with the means of his era, in comparison the greatest genius of ours is nothing but a latecomer.
-Hey, but the one near the stand about Galileo... with all those telescopes...- Luke points to the opposite side. -Don't you think it’s Reid? It looks like him.- she strains her eyes to the maximum.
-But you mean the one that is hand in hand with a blonde... oh.- she takes another look. -Wait up. Of course. Yes, it must be her. I can't believe it.- she comments, talking to herself.
-Could you also explain to those who do not read mind?- her boyfriend complains.
-A few years ago... let's say a fortnight...- she begins to explain.
But he immediately interrupts her. -A few.- Penelope throws him a dirty look.
-If you want to know, shut up.- she clarifies. -I was saying... there was a case, a young actress, Lila Archer. We found out that there was a stalker. That killed some of her rivals and her agent. That one wanted to help her, but in a perverse way. It was her assistant, she was madly in love with her. And... during this case, happened something between Spencer and Lila. But I thought he had forgotten her.- she concludes. Incredibly she managed to stay on the subject and not rambling.
-And you never told me about it!- Luke protests as they walk to join them.
-Sorry, I forgot how much you love gossip.- she teases. -Hey wonder boy!- she lays her hand on the young man's shoulder, who almost jumps.
-Guys, are you here too?- it’s evident that he hasn't blushed at all. And his hand remains tight in that of the other blonde, who seems to be about the same age.
-Yeah.- Luke smiles slyly. That's why, at the last convention, Spencer had answered him so ambiguously. Surely, they were already dating. How did I not get there? -Don't you introduce your friend to us?- he winks, getting a finger in her side.
The young woman separates to provide for herself. -Lila Archer, and...- the little genius, as Garcia calls him, doesn't accept it. And he makes a gesture that amazes everyone, especially her.
-She's not a friend.- he says, putting his right arm around her waist. -It's my girlfriend.- he says, his voice a little shaky. -We are together.- he reiterates, in a more secure way. And he realizes that only at this moment it seems real. The weeks, the past month... seemed to him like a dream. But it's much better.
The other woman wastes no time. -I'm so happy for you! Anyway, I am Penelope and...- she tries to behave in a normal way.
-You two work with him.- Lile anticipates her. -I know. I have heard so much about all of your team.- she turns her head towards Latin. -I guess you must be Luke Alvez.- the man chuckles, genuinely happy for his friend. You found a pretty tough one, Spence. Then he looks at his own girl with the corner of the eye. It wouldn't be fun otherwise.
-Are you sure you are an actress and not a federal agent?- he asks, getting a laugh in return that makes her even more beautiful, and younger.
-Surely.- she answers, then turns to Reid. -I think I've been dating you for too long. I'm starting to look like you.- he blushes a bit.
-The knowledge is like a flame from which so many candles can draw without affecting it.- he replies, in his classic citational tone which however is extremely fascinating.
-And the same applies to happiness.- Lila says, which seems to have the same opinion.
Penelope approaches her. -I love your shirt.- she comments, clapping her hands.
-Thank you.- Lila replies with a dazzling smile. Reid joins Alvez.
-Luke, I think you need to take out your wallet.- he says in a low voice.
-What? Why?- asks the other, confused.
-Do you see Garcia's eyes?- he points out. He looks better at his woman and the t-shirt bearing the words Think like a proton. Always positive.
-Oh. I got it. Indeed, it is perfect for her way of seeing the world.-
