Bucky seems sincerely lost when «I don't know» he whispers back in a shrug. But Steve «yes, you do» replies and, as he’s about to pull his body into a hug, the police break into the apartment, forcing them to escape. Steve has never been so afraid of a fight like he is today, where he finds himself chasing the Black Panther that chases Bucky, also hunted by the Bucharest police and the Hydra. A lot of things could go wrong, and Steve absolutely fears the moment when there will be a bullet, just one, too much in that fight and it’s gonna stick itself in Bucky's body. But Bucky, Steve realizes as he looks at him fighting, isn’t inexperienced. He knows how to look after himself. But this doesn’t mean that he can’t have one of his episodes, lose his mind and disappear forever. And perhaps it would have been better: if Bucky had disappeared, Steve would have even climbed on top of the world to go and bring him back... but now, all of them caught as outlaws by Rhodes... Steve is experiencing fear yet one more time. The cops deal with Bucky as if he were the most dangerous criminal, they force him to the ground to cuff him, they carry him into an armored van all the way to Berlin, chained down by inexpugnable straps, looked after, and then there’s T'challa, who Steve knows that will never stop until he pokes Bucky's body with his damned claws. And then there's Bucky. Fleeing his gaze. Who, when their eyes finally meet, tries not to lose his poker face. But the truth is that he must be feeling going crazy in those straps, and Steve knows. He knows. Because the straps restraining him are invisible, but he still feels going crazy at the thought of not being able to move a finger to save Bucky.”

How can this photo have “adult content”????

Tumblr is increasingly making it clear that the “Community Guidelines”, are based on the truth of conservatism, prejudice, homophobia, sexism and so on… How can this image have anything that references adult content. Then I ask, what adult content is this? A guy lying on another guy’s lap, is it adult content? What are these contents? This is really absurd. I really don’t know how to continue on tumblr anymore, being censored by things that literally RESPECT THE SITE GUIDELINES. That doesn’t make sense. No sense.

Detail: the photo was simply marked as “adult content”, without even giving me the chance to appeal to have it reviewed.

There are literally thousands of posts with images, gifs and even explicit sex videos here on tumblr circulating freely, with ten thousand notes or more. but an image of one guy lying on another’s lap, violates the guidelines. complicated.

The year is 2184, average earth temperature has doubled, only a few million people remain on earth. A green-movement managed to travel back to 2022. What are they doing?

2022 is a strange year to land into, yet. That’s almost - almost - where it all started: the clock is ticking but nobody seems aware of it, and the small party sent back from the future stares wide-eyed at the destruction these people are unknowingly bringing with themselves. Cars are roaming freely through the streets, every house or office has a conditioner buzzing loudly on the hot air outside: it’s mid-summer, which future reports have defined the hottest summer since decades, but people are doing nothing about it. When confronted about the climate change most governments have refused to take the matter into their own hands, and it’s very sad: since they’ve landed they’ve seen young people protesting silently on the two most trafficked byways in Italy, and videos showed the complete ignorance of passersby all jammed up in the busy roads, getting out of their vehicles to drag the protesters out of their way brutally instead of sitting on the hot road surface and protest with them. Rowan is walking to the building entrance where some meeting between Nations is about to happen hand in hand with her friends - Hailey, James, Nick - when she stops suddenly: she rummages in her backpack, taking all the papers they’ve gathered as proof out, then she exhales loudly. «Be ready, folks»

The meeting is inaccessible, but they won’t give up just yet: instead they sit on the cold floor, waiting for the most powerful people in the world to finish their work endlessly, looking at each other occasionally, and thinking: the world as these people know it doesn’t exist anymore where they come from. It’s all gone, Nations, people, borders. It’s endless lands, now. It’s scorching hot wind whipping everything up on its way. It’s water where lands used to be. It’s desolation, and death at every step. The few radio stations that still have power and people talk about a few thousands people still alive: it’s a huge change from the almost nine billion reached a couple decades before: but pandemics, rising sea levels and wars have taken a toll that was simply too big on humanity. As people start to flow out the now open door, the four get up quickly, bridging in a rush the few steps between them and the other people: Rowan grabs the American delegate’s arm, Hailey reaches up to the Portuguese one while the two boys get closer to other men and women, and they speak all together: «you need to listen to us» they exclaim loudly, rushing when the delegates try to avoid them «we’re from year 2184, and you’re about to make the biggest mistakes of your life.»

They had other parties reach out to the Nations that didn’t participate in this meeting, but they have no way to communicate with them: Rowan, Hailey, James and Nick are now sitting at a large table. People from all over the world look at them confusedly until «from where we’re from the world as you still know it» Hailey speaks in a calm but firm voice «doesn’t exist anymore. Please, read the papers and take action now.» «As of today» Nick goes on, walking around the table tirelessly, his voice rising on each word coming out of his mouth «the estimates speak of a few thousands of people left. We no longer receive news from Africa and Middle East. Entire Nations have been submerged, or erased completely by the wars. We have almost no power left ever, and governments don’t exist anymore. The last pandemic has been brutal, and there were no researchers or doctors left to find a cure. You can still change the future, your future and ours, but you need to act now.» «In our group» James begins almost quietly, but his voice seems too loud in the astonishing silence that has descended on the room «there’s almost a hundred people, we were all engineers and programmers and a few of us were physics in our past lives. We’ve put ourselves together and created a way to time travel. We’re currently based in what used to be the USA, but we’ll leave soon: in order to reach you we’re exploiting all our resources, and we’ll all be going back to a dark, dark future. Other people have reached out to the Nations that are not jere today, and they’re trying to make them understand the importance of our cause. Please, help us.»

Rowan is walking through the streets of New York, looking around to take in as many details as she can before they’ll all go. She feels Hailey’s hand grab her arm, pulling her back: she stops in the middle of the sidewalk, turning around to face her and the boys, as «what is it?» she asks, knowing right away from the look on their faces what she’s about to ask. Indeed, «why don’t we stay?» she lets out in a shameful whisper, her eyes on the ground, and Rowan thinks that yes, they could stay here in 2022, reconnect with their friends scattered all over the world, and live how many days they’ve got left here where it’s safe: they could even afford getting married or having children because in the end the time they’re from is still far away from now. But they can’t. It wouldn’t be fair, not only to whoever’s left in 2184 but also to themselves. They’ve worked so hard to stay alive, to come back, they’ve lost so much and so many… she thinks of her mom and dad, her little sister. All gone. «I can’t» she states sadly «I couldn’t… but if you want, you can. I’ll miss you tremendously, but I wouldn’t judge your choice, I… I can understand.» They all share a look, then they all take a step. Together, as it’s always been.

They’ve given themselves a set time: a year. They’ve reached out to the rest of their group, of which somebody wasn’t as lucky as them: some Nations aren’t still on the same page as the rest, but it’s okay. Hopefully the one who believed them can still change the future. It’s a long year, full of wait and sadness. And hope, too. They thought they’d find a beautiful world here in 2022, but the reality is that they’ve come back to the Earth agonizing when all they’ve seen is her corpse. It’s ugly, and raw, and it hurts. Farida and Omari, the two friends that went to Russia, have seen things they’ll never recover from, and it’s painful listening to some others tell the four of them all about the atrocities they’ve witnessed too: denied rights, war crimes and poverty are on the agenda now as they were - or will be - in the years immediately before 2184, which is simply too much to take. But they stay, and fight with those who are willing to fight with them, and witness important turnarounds coming from many Nations worldwide. And, when the time comes, they all gather together again in the presence of some of the most powerful men and women in the world, for one last meeting. They share news, sign papers and documents, read researches. Then they say goodbye: Rowan holds tight on the small controller that’ll take them all back, sharing a look with the one hundred people that partnered up with her in this long journey: she reads doubt in their eyes, but everyone wants to go back where - when - they belong. She takes one last look out the window in front of her, the blue sky, the roads full of people walking instead of driving, then she closes her eyes. She presses the button on the controller, and everything disappears.

When they land again, they find themselves in a lawn: the grass is green, the blue sky above them studded with small, white clouds. A light, fresh breeze is blowing on their skin as they all look at each other in amazement: they take a step each into a different direction, wandering and trying to see in the distance, where people are walking their pets, going to work, doing yoga in the open. They all turn around at the same moment, looking at each other again, everyone with a bright smile on their face: «we’ve made it» Nick whispers, his eyes glimmering from happiness, while «are you sure this is our time?» Hailey asks, one of her arms reaching out to touch Rowan’s shoulders. The latter looks at the controller in her hand that reads “year 2184”, then she lifts her hand, exposing the little contraption to everyone «yes.» «Let’s find the others» someone suggests, taking another step forward as some of the people start hugging each other and laughing with excitement, only one thought in their minds: we changed our future.
