As Madness Took Me
Tumblr media
Pain, that’s all his world had become. Physical, mental, hell, he’d even argue spiritual at this point. Just pain. It made him long to be back on the front lines of an active war, even if at times he found himself back there, gunfire, smoke, explosions. Not even sleep served as an escape from the torture and all-consuming fear. Every day he felt like the pain and torment consumed more and more of him from the inside out, leaving nothing but a hollow shell in its wake.
The days bled together, extending out to feel they passed in a blink while also reaching into eternity, never ending. Most things he learned to grow numb to, the physical pain, starvation, isolation. None of it was unexpected or shocking. The only thing he found he was able to cling to was the times they drugged him to shut him up or because they had no torture to inflict on him. He longed for those days, for that oblivion. Sometimes if the torture went beyond and left him too close to death, losing too much blood, or even stopping his heart due to shock a few times, he was granted relief… drugs to numb him while his body tried to heal and recover. It numbed the pain, let him drift out of existence, back into the haze he was in before those psychos dragged him off the streets and to wherever it is they had him.
This day though, he was all too aware, in more agony than even his mind could numb him to. He’d spent the first half of the day vomiting bile or retching painfully as his stomach tried to expel something not even there. His head was in agony, and he was so so cold. The room they kept him in was bare, only the blaring lights and a toilet. Not even a damn sink to try and wash the taste of bile from his mouth. His skin was on fire, muscles shaking to the point he couldn’t stop it. It was obvious it was narcotic withdrawal on top of everything else they’d inflicted. Everything hurt, but none of the physical agony compared to the thoughts of how he’d been forgotten, left to the torture, left to rot, alone.
He had five siblings, a billionaire father… and they’d abandoned him years ago. Sure, he’d been adopted, made to play military academy under the control of Sir Reginald Hargreeves along with his six other siblings. The abuse was severe for all of them, but Klaus, he’d had it the worst. Even little Viktor had admitted that in his stupid book he’d picked up a couple years back. How he’d been abused more than all of them, the quiet, sweet boy broken under the foot of their cruel, sadistic father.
Still, he’d tried to hang on, keep a part of himself, even despite the substances he’d began consuming at the age of ten. The alcohol had been all too easy to access… not even kept locked up or hidden. It was almost as if his father had wanted him to reach out for it. Old him, pre-captive him would have chuckled at the thought of his first bout of alcohol poisoning at the tender age of eleven. Eventually, nearly all of them began to drink. A whole alcoholic family. It just made their judgements sting even more.
“Klaus!!!” Flinching from his thoughts at the loud shriek of his name, Klaus looked around, his heart hammering in his chest. All he found was an empty room, the glaring lights pressing into his skull like an ice pick behind his eye, causing his empty stomach to churn and spasm even more painfully. “No no no…” Bringing his hands up, he curled into a fetal position, trying to ignore the thoughts of who the voice sounded like. He was gone Ben was gone. He’d died years ago, the images still fresh in Klaus’ mind, the rope, the swinging… he was so cold, all the screaming, begging, holding him tight after getting him down. He was gone. “Please… please make it stop! Please, just, let me die… they won’t care, they… they don’t notice… never did.”Sobbing, he clutched harder at his ears and head, just wanting it to stop, to drown the pain out. He knew it was all part of the intrinsic torture of the sadistic cult that’d dragged him here what must have been months ago. They wanted to break him, to let him have occasional relief, just to rip it away in order to cause further torture and pain. But he didn’t want to be broken, to give in to the mind control they wanted over him. No, he’d rather die… but his body refused that relief as well. It continued to cling on, to endure whatever they did, no matter how brutal. He just wanted his family, he wanted Ben, Diego, even little Five who’d ran off and vanished so long ago. He just wanted someone to save him, even if that someone was the cold, dark embrace of death.

“Luther, are you even listening to me? We’re gonna be late!” You yell up to the loft of your apartment as you busied yourself putting your earrings in. Usually you could hear that Luther was up well before you saw him, but the loft remained silent.
Tsking under your breath to yourself you marched up the short spiral staircase to see that Luther was still firmly in bed, blankets pulled all the way up to his chin, face all but buried in your pillows. You furrow your eyebrows in surprise. Luther was a light sleeper, and you had expected to come up and find your big lovable man ignoring you, not asleep.
“Luther,” you utter softly, seating yourself on the edge of the bed and giving his arm a shake, “you in there?” You giggle as he stirs, eyes bleary and red as he searches for you. “We’re meeting your family today, remember?” He makes a grumbling noise in the affirmative and raises his head slightly, swiping over his face with one of his hands. You fix him with an analysing stare, raising a hand to press to his forehead to confirm your suspicion. The back of your hand meets with a scorching forehead.
“You have a temperature.”
“I’m fiiiine,” he grumbles, now making himself sit up, although it looks to you that the motion makes him feel dizzy, “it’s just a head cold.” You snicker to yourself as you lightly place a hand on his shoulder, the small force contained in the movement enough to send him back down into the pillows.
“I don’t think so, we’re not going. I’ll call and cancel.”
“No but you were so excited, I was so excited.” You rub his bicep reassuringly as you reach for his phone to call Allison, as you didn’t have any of the Hargreeves numbers.
“I know, they’ll be more chances in the future.” Today was the day you were supposed to meet the extended Hargreeves family.
You’d been dating Luther a while but you’d always sensed some hesitation in him introducing you to the family. You didn’t take it personally, as you knew very well who Luther was when you’d met and knew he must have a complicated relationship with his family. The outing ended up being his idea, stating that he’d wanted you to be a part of his family now, and that meant meeting everybody else. You’d already met Allison a few times but the rest of the siblings you hadn’t so much as caught a glimpse of.
Allison was completely sympathetic on the phone and said it would’ve been no problem to reschedule. She also let you in on the fact that when Luther got sick it tended to put him out of action for a few days as his body mass was so large, it was quite an effort for his immune system to fight off whatever ailed him. You thanked her for the advice and hung up to the sounds of Luther trying to get out of bed.
“Oh no you don’t mister,” you yell from your place in the kitchen that you’d wandered into while on the phone, “get back in bed!” You hurry upstairs to catch him in the act, feet on the floor and hands at his sides as if he was about to push himself up.
“Babe, no, c’mon, I’ve got to get ready.”
“I already cancelled, now lie back down.” He gave you a gloomy look but obliged, lying back as you fixed the pillows so that he could be slightly propped up. “You hungry?” He opened his mouth to deny it but as he did his stomach let out an almighty sound that had you laughing and patting it as if to shush it.
You went into the kitchen and made him his favourite of yours, chilli udon noodle soup, with a cup of lemon, honey, and ginger to ease his throat, as his voice had been becoming raspier with every sentence he spoke. You took the items upstairs and placed them onto the bedside table, putting two tablets into his hand and instructing him to take them. He did with no resistance, a grin spreading over his face when he caught sight of what you’d made him. You went to give him some space, but he grabbed your hand as you turned, a barely there pout on his lips that begged you to stay.
You could never say no to Luther at the best of times, but now that he was sick and looking more beaten down than usual you were there at his beck and call. You positioned yourself in the bed so that his head rested on your chest as he ate. You wordlessly turned on the television that sat atop the dresser at the end of the bed and put on what you’d come to know as his comfort movie, Dirty Dancing. He grinned up at you like a child, you sending one right back down at him.
He fell asleep shortly after eating and barely half an hour into the movie, his head on your chest and your hand gently stroking him on the head. You gazed down at your gentle giant, sick and miserable but looking contented as he rested.
“Thank you.” His barely audible mutter just caught your ears as he repositioned himself to be cuddling your middle. You wrapped your arms around his shoulders and a small giggle passed your lips when he reached up to place one of your hands back on his head so you could resume the comforting motion you’d been doing.
“You don’t have to thank me, Luther.” You say with a small kiss to his head.
“I know,” he rests his chin on you so that he can look you in the eyes, “but I appreciate you looking after me. I love you.” It was far from the first time Luther had told you he loved you, but every time it managed to make your heart forget it’s natural rhythm for a beat.
“I love you too.”

One Bed : Five Hargreeves / F!Reader
Part of the Tesoro Series (Can be read as a one shot)
Tumblr media
Word Count : 3.7K Summary : After a failed mission with the commission, both you and Five find a hotel to rest in. The only problem is, you'll have to share a bed. Aged up!Five. ( I do not own the umbrella academy or any of it's characters ) Warnings : Smut, cursing, mentions of headaches
“Damn It!” You groaned, leaning on your knees, your chest heaved. You changed back into yourself. Happy to be back in your body instead of a very hairy man with a limp. Your head pounded, you should have been more careful. After barely getting any sleep last night you should have known better than to push your abilities. You coughed, spitting bile out onto the pavement in front of you. A crackle of blue light appeared next to you before Five flew out of the portal. He was equally out of breath.
“Where did they go?” He turned to you, throwing his hands up.
“I don’t know,” you spit glaring at him, your emotions running high, “he disappeared.” You waved in front of you. Your lungs screamed, drinking in oxygen in deep breaths, letting your lungs inflate to their limit before breathing out again.
“Disappeared?” He yelled, whipping his head to look at you. His hair falling out of his neat side part. He ran a hand through his hair, letting out a strangled scream.
“Where were you huh?” You hissed, narrowing your eyes “You could have blinked after him if you were here!” He glared at you, his face scrunched into a sour expression.
“God you are unbelievable!” He groaned, clenching his fists. His hands glowed blue before fizzling out, “I pushed myself too hard, I barely made it back to you!” You huffed rolling your eyes. Fighting would get you nowhere, Five loved arguing. When there was a fire lit in him he was an eternal flame, furning for days on end. Once you had stolen his favorite coffee mug, for no other reason than he had said something to piss you off. That was a week of hell you never wanted to relive.
“Look,” you took a breath, “we’re both tired, let’s just go find a hotel and get some rest.” You put your hands up in defeat.
He clenched his jaw, the muscle tightening. He huffed looking around.
“Fine, but you’ll follow my plan tomorrow, got it?” He pointed a finger at you. You didn’t know if it was his age, but the way he would scold you like a child drove you insane.
“Fine.” You said through gritted teeth. “Shall we?” You asked motioning to your parked car. He moved past you, hitting your shoulder as he went. You sighed following him, hurt blooming in your chest. You hung your head as you walk to the car.
He stopped, turning back to look at you. You didn’t have the best poker face, not with him at least. You looked down at the ground, refusing to meet his eyes. He bit his lip, guilt washing over him in waves.
Five had always been in agreement with himself, being alone in the apocalypse there was no room for second guessing. It was live or die every second of every day. When a simple infection from a paper cut could have as easily killed him as a broken bone, Five was always thinking ten steps ahead. Even after the commission picked him up his survival instincts hadn’t fully gone away. Whether he was in the field or not, his primal instincts still had him making decisions quickly and with no room for reflection. This was his way of life, learning layouts of offices, the nearest escape routes. Until you barged into his life.
With you, Five was constantly second guessing his actions. Normally he wouldn’t have given a shit if he was abrasive, cold or unfriendly. He didn’t come to make friends, he came to save the world. He had a job to do, and more importantly a plan. To get back to his family and stop the apocalypse. You were never a part of that plan. He had already calculated his steps when you came in throwing in three more steps to an already difficult dance. Sashaying your way into his life and heart.
He walked in front of you, cursing himself as he opened up the door of the 1977 Isuzu Gemini SL Coupe. He gave you a small smile as you got in. He closed the door behind you before walking to the driver side and getting in.
You drove in silence, leaning your head on the window. It throbbed from having to change into so many people. You rubbed your temple, praying for a shower and a warm bed.
Five’s hands gripped the wheel, he was spent. His body ached and the cramp in his shoulder was getting worse as he drove. The stress probably wasn’t helping. He stole glances at you every once and awhile. The only thing illuminating your face was the street lights as he passed under them.
He sighed under his breath, he shouldn’t have snapped at you. And it’s not like he was mad at you, he was mad at himself. He had let the guy get away, he had been worried about your safety. He had lost you at the beginning of the warehouse. The whole time he had been jumping around looking for you instead of the target. He knew he had made a mistake, using his powers for his personal gain instead of the mission. If the handler only knew, he would never be assigned with you again. Good thing she didn’t. As much as he tried to deny it he had started to enjoy working with you. You helped him maintain his humanity, like Delores had. You two were very similar, both kind, selfless, always thinking ahead. He admired your ability to stay true to your heart, even in your line of business.
He pulled off into a parking lot. Passing the glowing red sign that blinked vacancy. He rolled into a parking spot, putting the car in park. You both sat in silence, you sighed looking into the hotel lobby.
“I-“ Five started before cutting himself off, you raised your head looking at him. He stared straight ahead, his hand lazily draped on the wheel. “I’m sorry.” He mumbled, his gaze dropped to his lap.
“It’s ok.” You said touching his arm, “We’re both tired and overworked.” You looked over at him, your head throbbed. You shut your eyes covering them with your hand.
“Is it your head?” He asked, looking over at you. You nodded tears pricking in your eyes, “Hey, let’s get inside.” He said squeezing your shoulder. You nodded, wiping away tears that slipped past your eyelashes. Five opened the door, stepping out of the car. You followed him into the hotel lobby, the bell ringing as Five opened the door.
You winced, sitting down on a leather chair. The fake leather had started to crack, you mindlessly picked at the flakes. The orange carpet under your shoes had multiple stains, you wrinkled your nose in disgust.
Five walked up to the counter, his hand hovered over the bell before he looked back at you. He put his hand back into his pocket and leaned on the counter.
“Hello?” He said looking around. An older man walked out, he had a full unkempt mustache. Frizzy hair to his jaw, his tall body squeezed into a tweed suit. “One room please.” He said handing him twenty bucks. The man nodded, plucking a key off the wall behind him. He handed it to him, Five turned the red pass over in his hands. He walked back over to you, your head in your hands. His heart squeezed in his chest, he needed to get you to bed. He gently shook your shoulder. “Come on,” he said, helping you to your feet. You gripped his bicep, leaning on him. Any sense of pride had left your body when your headache started. He led you to your room, putting the key in the hole. He had to jiggle it slightly before the lock gave out.
Fives face fell as he took in the room. Only one bed.
“Damn it.” He muttered, shaking his head, you walked over to the bed. Sinking down onto it as you reached down to untie your shoes. “I’ll sleep on the floor.” He said matter of factly, sighing.
“Five.” He looked into your tired eyes. “We’re both adults, just take the other side of the bed.” You shrugged off your suit jacket, pushing yourself off the bed. You pulled out a hanger and hung your suit jacket up. You unzipped your pants, Five felt heat creep up his neck. You had undressed in front of him before, why did this bother him so much? You unbutton your blouse, hanging it up as well. God, your head hurts. It was no longer throbbing, but pounding.
“I’m gonna go take a shower.” You mumbled walking to the bathroom.
Five sat down on the edge of the bed. He untied his shoes, setting them down next to the bedside table. He listened to the shower turn on, your soft voice humming as the rings of the shower curtain scraped across the metal bar. Five swallowed, his mind started to wander. He imagined you washing your body. The suds over your breasts, letting out a sigh of relief as the hot water washed over you. He felt his dick jump in his pants. He pictured your hands traveling lower down your body, over your soft stomach, reaching between your legs. His dick was standing at attention now. He had a good couple minutes before you would be out. He reached down, rubbing himself through his pants. He could only imagine your hands instead of his, your hot breath fanning over his neck, lips, ear. He leaned back, letting his back hit the bed. He tugged at his belt, undoing the buckle. He unbuttoned his pants pulling them down with his underwear. His dick, no longer confined to his pants, sprung free onto his stomach. He spit into his hand, lubricating his dick. He ran his palm over the tip, once, twice, before he noticed the water had turned off. He quickly pulled his pants back up, buttoning them. He stood up walking over to the window, pulling back the thin green curtain. Trying to act as nonchalant as possible.
You opened the door. Your hair still slightly damp, you had a fluffy robe wrapped around your body. He turned slightly to look at you. You smiled at him, the windows low light illuminating him perfectly. He was reminiscent of a painting of an angel, the hotel sign acting as holy rays behind him. He stood tall, his arms crossed over his broad chest.
“All yours.” You sighed happily, throwing yourself onto the shitty mattress. The box spring whined as your body hit it. He nodded before taking a couple steps to the bathroom.
You laid back, combing through your hair with your fingers. You slipped under the covers, the throbbing in your head was now only a slight ache. You heard the water turn on, and shut off after a few minutes. Five opened the door, a towel hung low on his waist. Your eyes traveled down his body, for his toned chest to his firm stomach. You took in all his scars, one above his belly button, it looked like an old knife wound. Your eyes traveled further to his v, a small patch of hair leading from his chest to his hips. You looked away, a blush creeping onto your cheeks. He was drying his hair with a towel so thankfully he didn’t see you ogling him. He walked over to the bed, pulling the covers back. He sank down, the bed dipping with his weight. He laid back, his arm brushing against yours. Electricity flew up your arm.
“Night.” You said softly, he hummed in response. You rolled over, away from him. Looking out the window, listening to his breathing.
-
When you woke up, it was still dark. The sun hadn’t come up but the sky was turning more of a light blue. You felt Five’s warm arm wrapped around your waist, and Five’s breath fanning across your neck. His hand was splayed out over your stomach, holding you tightly against him. You sighed contently, enjoying the closeness to the man you had come to develop feelings for. Although any pure thoughts disappeared when he rolled his hips against your ass. A low groan left his throat, which seemed to shoot directly to your core.
You froze, you could feel his erection pressing against you. Experimentally you rolled your hips back into his, he moaned nuzzling your neck.
The angel on your shoulder yelled in your ear to wake him up. You savored the feeling, trying to memorize exactly how he felt against you, saving the memory for a later time when you were alone in your apartment, before you nudged him slightly.
“Hmmm?” He mumbled into your ear.
“Five, wake up.” You said nudging him again. He jolted up, taking in the situation.
“Oh god,” he said, pulling away from you, his voice gravely from sleep. “Jesus, I didn’t mean, if I’ve made you uncomfortable in any way I-“ he groaned, running a hand over his face.
“Five. It’s ok,” You said, pulling his hand away. Looking at him in the low light, he was breathless, a light layer of perspiration on his body. Your mouth watered as you took him in. “If you wanted to, I wouldn't be opposed…” you trailed off your eyes locking onto his face. He froze, his lips slightly parted. He tilted his head, his brows furrowing. He stared down at his hands, deep in thought. “I don’t want to pressure you into doing anything.” He said softly, you smiled. For a man who was always so self-assured, he seemed so unsure of himself.
“I’m offering. This is just to get some relief, no strings attached.” You said biting your lip, you untied your robe. Letting it fall around your body. Now having no protection from the cold night air, you felt your nipples harden. Five’s eyes raked over your body, you felt yourself grow hot under his gaze. He stared at you like you were a cool glass of water in the apocalypse.
Five was sure he had been murdered in his sleep. There was no possible reality where you were all but throwing yourself at him. All Five wanted to do was ruin you and make you his. Make you crave him as much as he craved you. He couldn’t remember the last time he had even had sex, possibly in his early days at the commission, but only to get his dick wet. He didn’t care about those girls, now you on the other hand were something special. And you were naked, in his bed.
“Right, no strings attached.” He repeated back to you. His fingers twitched and you could feel his hesitation. You grabbed one of his hands, squeezing it gently. You brought his hand up to your breast, he let out a shaky breath, his eyes finding yours for confirmation. You leaned forward to nibble his neck, kissing over the bites. He shivered his body tensing, you grinned your breath fanning over his jaw. He pinched one of your nipples, smirking as you gasped. He ducked his head, his mouth covering your other nipple, his tongue flicking the bud. Your hand tugged on his hair, he sighed around your breast.
“You’re gonna be the death of me.” He groaned, you chuckled looking up at him through your eyelashes. His erection was now painfully stretching against his underwear, you grabbed him through his boxers. He let out a pained noise, like he was being stabbed instead of pleasured. He was puddy in your hands, ready to be shaped anyway you wished. He pushed you back against the bed. In a sudden shift in dominance, his lips found your neck, kissing and nipping slightly. You bucked against his body, your nipples rubbing slightly against his bare chest. His hands mapped a path down your body, like he was trying to memorize it. Unbeknownst to you he was. His fingers found your clit, testing the waters. You gasped, your hand finding its way into his hair. You pulled at his scalp slightly, earning a low groan from him. He slipped one finger inside you, curling it as he thrusted it inside you. You moaned softly, any pain from your headache was now long gone. He added a second finger, his eyes never leaving your face. You couldn’t decide whether you wanted to cower under his gaze or beg for more. Your skin was ablaze, Five’s touch was electric, his incredibly eager fingers thrusting and curling inside you. You gripped the sheets, pleasure building in your stomach. That familiar coil tightening inside of you.
He pulled his fingers out of you, bringing them up to his lips, sucking them clean. “Shit, you’re sweet.” He hummed, swiping the head of his dick down your folds, lubricating himself with your slick. You both shuddered as his velvety soft tip found your entrance.
“Are you sure about this?” He asked softly, his other hand rubbing light circles on your thigh. You hadn’t expected him to be so doting, tales circulated around the commission of the absolute animal Five was in bed. But as his green eyes peered into yours, you could put those rumors to rest. You felt entirely bare, like he was peeling back the layers of your soul. The alarm bells had been ringing in your ears, this man was a killer. He was a survivor, stepping on anyone he had to, to get to where he was. He was a mercenary, follower of no moral code, but if he was all of these things why did he hold you like you were made of glass?
“Yes.” You said, propping yourself up on your elbows. He lowered his gaze pushing the head of his cock in slowly. You both let out a moan, he hissed, baring his teeth.
“Christ you’re tight.” He sighed his eyes squeezing close. His hands gripped your hips, his nails dug in leaving crescent shaped marks. Although you couldn’t seem to care, you had never felt so full in your life. Your hands gripped his thighs for dear life, a strangled cry left your throat as he thrust all the way in, knocking the breath out of your lungs. He stilled, a blissed out smile on his lips. You wiggled your hips, trying to get any stimulation from him.
“Fuck me.” You whined, grabbing his face, forcing you to look at him. His eyes widened before a devilishly handsome smile split his face.
“Yes ma’am.” He started a slow rhythm, his dick spearing you every time he thrusted into you. Long, hard strokes. His cock rubbed at the spongy part inside of you and you mewled. “You like that, sweetheart?” He teased a mischievous glint in his eye, you couldn’t help but nod, stroking his ego along with his cock. He took the lead titling your hips up, throwing one of your legs over his shoulders. You needed him closer. Gripping at any part of him you could get your hands on, your nails raking down his back. He moaned, breathy and high pitched. Your breath was stolen out of your chest as he quickened his pace, going deeper than before.
“Oh fuck, Five.” You groaned holding onto his shoulders, your tits bouncing.
“You’re gripping me so good tesoro.” He grimaced, his eyes fluttering close. He let out a strangled cry against your leg. Biting down harshly before kissing your calf. You yelped fingernails digging into his thighs.
“I’m close, I’m so close.” You babbled tears slipping down your cheeks, every part of you was screaming out in pleasure. This spurred him on, one of his hands traveled between the two of you rubbing tight circles on your clit. You swore you saw stars, your toes curled and you couldn’t help the high pitched whine that ripped its way out of your throat. He leaned forward, his body looming over yours. His arms effectively trapping you underneath him. Working you through your orgasm as he grinded his hips against you, using your leg as leverage.
“I’m not gonna last.” He mumbled his forehead resting against yours, wincing slightly. You grinned, reveling in the fact that you had such an effect on him.
“Cum then.” You said before sucking a deep purple mark on his neck. You felt his breath catch in his throat against your lips.
“S-shit.” He thrusted hard into you, “you’re so fucking perfect,” He moaned his hips stuttering as he came. “Oh god I love you.” You froze, he loved you? He stopped, pulling out almost immediately. “I don’t know why I said that.” He recoiled, putting as much distance as he could between the two of you. He grabbed his discarded towel, covering himself with it as he stumbled off the bed. You pulled the sheet up, covering your breasts.
“Five it’s fine,” you said sitting up.
“No. It’s not.” He growled, the sudden shift in his demeanor made you recoil. You pulled the sheet tighter around your body, suddenly all too aware of your nudity. “This never should have happened.” He motioned between the two of you.
“It’s just sex. It’s not like you meant it!” You justified, your voice higher than you intended.
He stopped, the outline of his body harsh against the street lamp outside. His head turned slightly, allowing you to see only part of his face. You could see him mentally building his walls back up, brick and mortar in his eyes.
“Five, it’s not like you meant it.” You said it more as a question than a statement, hating the slight waver in your voice. His body tensed as he sucked in a breath, he raised his shoulders.
“No. I must have been thinking of someone else.” He said coolly. Ouch. The air was sucked out of the room as he stormed into the bathroom. Slamming the door behind him. Your heart broke in your chest, slicing up your insides. You swallowed thickly, your mind struggling to keep up with Five’s constant whiplash. One minute he’s taking you to the gates of heaven only to taunt you as he drags you back to hell.
This was all your fault, you put your head in your hands. You shouldn’t have suggested anything and just lived with the constant sexual tension.
No strings attached your ass.

Weak
Even Five Hargreeves is no stranger to temptation. He tries so hard to stay away. He wants to do the right thing for once in his life. If not for himself, then for her. But every man has his breaking point.
Five Hargreeves x Reader Smut
This one shot is an accompaniment to my other work "Addicted". This can be read on its own, but is a different side of the story, as told from Five's point of view.
As always, I am open to requests. Thank you!
My Master List Of Number Five Fanfiction
Weak:
I never meant to take it this far. I never meant to be cruel. That’s not who I am, or at least I didn’t think I was. I also thought I was strong and had will power. But I guess I was wrong about that, too. Because as much as I try to stay away, I don’t.
I know who I am and what I’m made of. The terrible things I’ve done. That’s not a secret and I’ve never lied to myself about that. My morals can’t even be called a gray area anymore; they’re more like an indistinct blur. But in this one tiny part of my soul, I was trying to be better. For her, at least.
I have failed miserably.
She knows what I am. When things got too comfortable and too familiar, I told her as a way to push her away and to scare her. It didn’t work, though. In fact, it had the opposite effect. She fucking loved it…and I didn’t know how to say no to that.
How could I say no when she was tearing at my clothes, practically panting with desire, and shoving her hand down my pants? All over a bloody stain on a shirt collar and the feel of my Glock against her skin. I’m sure there’s a way to resist that, but fuck if I know what it is. I’m not smart enough or strong enough to figure that one out.
I don’t particularly like all of the killing. But I’m pretty fucking good at it and someone has to do it, I suppose. I certainly never considered it sexy in any way. Then, after that first time, when she begged me to tell her all of the gruesome details, and I watched her skin start to flush and her pupils dilate…well, fuck, that put a new spin on everything.
I still don’t like it, that part hasn’t changed. I get no pleasure from pulling that trigger and watching their skull break open like a fucking pinata, spraying the contents of their brains all over the floor like the world’s worst party game. Now, however, there is a sick little spark that will ignite in me after it’s done. Because I know how it will turn her on.
And, fuck, I am weak.
That’s what this all boils down to. Weakness. For most people that meet me or know me in any way, weak is probably the last word they would use to describe me. Cold; bitter; sarcastic; asshole. Those adjectives are much more likely to be used. But weak? Doubtful.
I know the truth, though. Deep down, that is what I am. Because when you continue to break someone’s heart time and time again, just because you can’t control your own basic urges…that’s weakness. Pure and simple.
She has told me how much I’ve hurt her, and how much I am ruining her life. She has screamed and cried and told me all of the things I know I deserve to hear. She has called me an asshole more times than I can remember, and I have never disputed it. So, I stay away, like I know I should. Until she inevitably calls again. And I slip right back into it without another thought. Like the absolute fucking bastard that I am.
Weak.
Because even though I know it’s wrong and I’m slowly poisoning her with my selfishness, each time I think maybe it will be different. Maybe this time will be the time when I stay. When I will finally be the person I should be and really want to be.
All the way up until the early morning, I will convince myself that this is it. I’ve finally seen the light and I can be the man she deserves; it will be so easy. Because when it’s just the two of us, in our own little cocoon, hidden away from the outside world, the idea is magical. I would give anything to stay there, tucked away, fucking like animals until we’re both too exhausted to talk anymore. I want to stay there and listen to her voice, and her laugh, and feel her hands on my touch-starved body. And I think, yes, this is it. This is what I want.
Then morning comes and the spell is broken.
Once that first peek of dawn starts to light up the sky, all of my anxieties come rushing back, and I remember why I can’t stay. Morning brings back the real world, and with it all of its problems.
I will freeze up, practically paralyzed with fear, as she sleeps next to me, an arm draped over my chest. I will remember what kind of person I really am, and how that just doesn’t translate to boyfriend material. And it’s not just the little fact that I am a hired assassin, although that does put a slight snag in any future meetings with parents and the like.
It’s the mixing bowl of fucked up thoughts and feelings and history that lives inside my brain. Guilt. Regret. Sadness. Rage. Take your pick, none of them are great. And I can mask them for a night or two, while I’m pretending to be someone I’m not. But they will come back again, and that’s just not something anyone needs. Especially someone you care about.
So, I do the worst, shittiest thing in the world, and leave while she’s asleep. No kiss goodbye. No note. Not even a quick morning fuck. I grab my shit and leave in a flash of blue light, like the weak coward I am. Can’t even bother to use the god damn door.
I will stay away after that. At least for a while. I will ignore the incoming texts and voice mails that sometimes will follow, and sometimes don’t. I’ll pretend I don’t care about the lectures and pleas and rightly-deserved insults. But I do care. And that’s why I won’t answer.
A month might go past, maybe more. Just enough time for me to start thinking she really is done with me. Then the call will come through, late at night, and I won’t ignore it. Because, as we’ve determined…I am weak.
She is the only one, although I’ve never told her that and I bet she thinks she’s not. I’m not interested in anyone else. I don’t need anyone else. And when she stops calling for good, which one day I know will happen, that will be it. It’s either her or nobody. And it’s barely even her.
Our paths almost never cross outside of our little midnight meetings. After that first night when all of this started, I’ve never seen her anywhere else besides her apartment. I assume it’s because the types of bars and clubs I frequent are not anywhere a normal, sane person would want to spend their free evenings. But tonight, as fate would have it, I do see her. After I grab my drink off the cracked and peeling bar top and turn to look at the room behind me, I see her. And she’s not alone.
With my glass half way to my mouth, our eyes meet, and for a second neither of us move. It’s not a big place, so we aren’t that far away from one another. But it’s loud and crowded, and the guy is leaning in close to her ear, talking loudly to be heard over the constant bass thumping through the shitty speakers on the walls. Who the fuck is this guy?
It’s not fair, I know that. Believe me, I know that. And I try to give myself a stern talking-to inside my head. She is not yours. Not even remotely. You are an asshole and she deserves better. Leave her the fuck alone.
I take a drink. And then I see his hand disappear under the table, and I can see everything from where I’m standing. He’s squeezing her thigh, leaving his hand there to rest on her leg, rubbing his thumb across the bare skin that isn’t covered by her short skirt. A skirt I know I’ve had my face under before.
Fuck. I hate this guy.
In the thirty seconds that it takes for all of this to happen, she is watching me. Reading me. A faint smile plays on her lips and I know I’m caught. My thoughts must be written all over my face like a fucking billboard, and it’s too late to pretend I haven’t seen or that I don’t care. She’s got me.
If I were stronger, or a better person, I would leave. Pay my tab, collect my coat, and get the fuck out of there without another glance in her direction. Leave her be. Let her live her fucking life. But I am not. And I’m pissed.
My first instinct is to reach behind me, grab the Glock that’s hidden in the waistband of my pants and covered up by my suit jacket, and take care of this asshole right then and there. That would probably be the nicer thing to do, honestly. Then she’d finally see what a fucking psycho I am and that would end things once and for all. But I’m also not that stupid. Or that nice.
Instead, I stay and watch. I let her see me watching, too. I lean with my back against the bar, casually sipping my drink, and my eyes never leave her. I want her to know, even if it makes me more of a giant dick than I already am. I want her to know I am not pleased.
I have no idea who this guy is, and I don’t care. Maybe it’s their first date; maybe it’s their tenth. It doesn’t matter, I want him dead. And now that she knows that, because it’s pretty fucking obvious by the way I’m coiled like a cobra ready to strike right now, it’s quickly become a game. If she had feelings for him before, that seems to have been forgotten now. Because everything she is doing is for me.
Her eyes leave mine and she returns to what I can only imagine is a very dull conversation with the Neanderthal sitting next to her. She smiles and laughs, and moves her leg closer to his so that they are touching. She reaches up and fixes his hair, tucking a stray piece of it over his ear. She rests her chin on her hand and stares at him like he’s the most interesting person she’s ever encountered. And he’s eating this shit up; kicking his game up a notch with even more inane talk and rubbing her thigh up and down with his whole hand. He thinks she’s into him. Fucking dumbass.
That’s the only thing keeping me slightly calm at the moment. Knowing it’s all a play. She is a really good actress, I’ll give her that, but I’ve paid more attention to her than she realizes. I know her tells. I know the difference between her fake laugh and her real one. I can tell when she’s actively engaged in the conversation or she is just waiting for you to shut up. I know how she touches her face when she’s nervous and I know what she looks like when she wants to fuck you.
And, buddy…I got bad news for you.
The corner of my mouth lifts in an arrogant smirk as I take another drink. I shouldn’t be proud of this; I should be appalled. How dare I think I have any right to any of her little traits and quirks? I haven’t earned that. That kind of thing is reserved for boyfriends and husbands and people that can stand to stick around for more than a few hours.
When she runs her tongue over her lips in an obvious gesture meant only for me, I actually laugh out loud. Fuck, she knows what she’s doing. And it’s one hundred percent working.
As I order my second drink, feeling the calming buzz of the booze fill my brain, I start to care less and less. I don’t care if this is not fair. I don’t care that I’m being a complete and utter shit head. I don’t care if I’m weak. I’ll deal with all of that later.
I take out my phone and type out a quick text.
Enjoying yourself?
I watch as she glances to her phone on the table as it lights up. She picks it up, angling it away from Caveman Cliff, and reads it. It’s subtle, but I saw it. A brief twitch of her mouth and a quick flit of her eyes in my direction. I see her type out a quick reply and then she is back to him, completely enrapt in his droning.
Immensely, thank you
Not able to resist, I counter with:
Even I can tell from way over here that your panties are as dry as the desert
She holds in a smile as she responds back.
Too bad you’re not going to find out
Honey, if that pussy of yours is even slightly wet, it’s only because you’re thinking of me bending you over that table you’re sitting at right now
I see her legs shift and she crosses one over the other, squeezing them together as a faint blush covers her cheeks.
And why would I be thinking that?
Because that dipshit you’re with isn’t going to give you what I know you want
I watch as she swallows and then glances at the idiot to her left that is oblivious to all of this, the poor bastard. Her response is short.
Fuck you
She puts her phone away to end this exchange, but I see the small smile she is trying to hide and the way she touches her hand to her face. I can see her chest expand as she sucks in a deep breath, biting at the inside of her cheek.
I give a short snort of satisfaction and put my phone back in my inside jacket pocket. I got what I wanted. I throw back the rest of my drink, leave a few dollars for a tip, and head for the door without another look in her direction. But I know she saw me leave.
As I wait there in the dark, I think about how awful I’m being; what a shit bag move this is. I’m using her, that’s what it boils down to. Using her for her warmth and her openness, and to temporarily calm my mind. Also, for her body and her touch. She sees something in me that isn’t there; or at least something I can’t see. But I can’t or won’t give her what she needs, and I’m also not letting her move on.
Fuck, I’m an asshole.
I hear their voices coming down the hall, the rattle of keys in her hand. As they near the door, I can hear her made up excuses. She’s tired; she had too much to drink; she has a headache. Maybe next time. She’ll call him tomorrow. Then she slips inside her darkened apartment and the door closes behind her.
I’m on her before she has a chance to turn the light on, pressing her against the door as she drops her keys on the floor. Since I’ve been waiting, the anticipation has already made me fully hard and I push my groin into her while I circle my hand lightly around her neck.
“What’s the matter, sweetheart? No love connection tonight?” I growl next to her ear.
She never even screams or fights back. She knew I would be there. But her hands grab my forearm and I hear her suck in a loud breath.
“I never knew you were the jealous type,” she smarts back.
 “Only when I see someone try to take what’s mine,” I hiss hotly against her neck, drawing my lips and then my tongue across her skin.
“I’m not your fucking property,” she snarls, but I can hear the break in her voice and she swallows hard against my hand.
I laugh cynically. “Well, then I can go and you can let him fuck you instead. Is that what you want?”
There’s a long pause and it’s just our loud breathing in the dark of the room. Then I feel her head move slowly from side to side.
“No,” she whispers.
As I crash my mouth onto hers, my hands in her hair and on her face, and down to her tits, she is reaching for the front of my pants. I had already removed my jacket and belt when I got there, as well as the pistol that I always carry with me. Our little act back at the bar was already enough foreplay and our bodies are screaming for each other.
Our hands can’t work fast enough as she is shoving my pants down my legs and tearing my shirt open while I rip her top off and yank her skirt up. My fingers are already pushing her panties to the side and entering her, sliding right in with no resistance.
I smile proudly against her neck. “I knew you were wet for me.”
As she moans and throws her head back, she is reaching down to stroke my cock, her warm hand tight and firm as she drags it slowly over my shaft.
My hips are already jerking into her and I want to be inside of her so badly I can’t think straight.
“Get these panties off so I can fuck you,” I snarl.
I pull my fingers out, pushing her underwear down roughly and she quickly steps out of them. With one pull of her hips into me, her arms clutching tightly to my shoulders, I lift her up and start fucking her against the door.
I tip my head back and groan loudly as she whines and pulls her legs tighter around my waist.
“Can he make you feel this good?” I ask between clenched teeth as I ram into her harder and the door rattles in its frame.
“No!” she cries out.
“Do you think about him when you’re alone and fingering yourself?”
Her moans are punctuated by the slamming of my body against hers and her fingers press deeper into my skin.
“No,” she breathes out. “No.”
“You think about me, don’t you?” I say with a sneer. When she doesn’t answer fast enough, I ask again, louder. “Don’t you?”
“Yes,” she whimpers pitifully, her nails digging sharply into my shoulder blades.
I can’t believe what I’m saying and what I’m doing. But she’s loving it and so I continue.
“I’m going to fuck you until you forget all about him, and then I’m going to fuck you some more. And if I ever see you with him again, I will kill him.”
“You wanted to kill him, didn’t you?” she asks, and that knowing smile starts to form as she closes her eyes and bites her lip. “When you saw him with me?”
“Fuck yes I did,” I groan loudly into her neck.
She’s almost there, I can tell. So am I, but I’m going to make her finish first. I pick up the pace, thrusting into her as hard as I can, her back and head slamming against the door, my fingers digging deeper into the flesh of her thighs and ass. I’m practically ripping into the side of her neck, latching on with my mouth and teeth, desperate to mark her as my own.
I listen as she repeats my name over and over in gasps and moans and I can’t hold back anymore.
“That’s it, sweetheart. You are all mine.”
She is falling apart in my arms, violently shaking against me as I penetrate her one last time, letting out a loud, guttural moan. I’m as deep inside of her as I can be, and I fill her up with so much cum, I know it will start sliding out; dripping down her legs and onto the floor. Somewhere deep inside, in the primordial part of my brain, I take satisfaction in knowing that it’s my seed, and only mine, that is coating her insides.
Once the last spasm has left my body, I let her down and she falls back against the door, breathing hard. Her bra is still on, but the straps have fallen down, and her skirt is bunched up around her waist. I look at the painful looking purple bruise I left on her neck, which is large enough and obvious enough that she won’t be able to cover it. Her eye makeup is smeared and her lips are swollen and red. She looks completely ravished. And then she starts to cry.
It’s because of me, I know it is. Because of the things I said and the things I did, and the way I needed her so desperately. She had been trying to break away from me and I reeled her back in. And I did it knowingly and deliberately, just to feed my ego and maybe not feel so alone. I could have found anyone for that. But, like the prick I am, I only wanted her.
“I’m sorry,” I say quietly, my lungs still working hard to get air in and out.
She just nods silently, wiping her face with her hand, and pulls down her skirt. She picks her shirt and underwear off the floor and heads to the bathroom without a word. I’m left standing there with a softening dick and my pants around my ankles.
Fuck.
I could leave now, while she’s in there, and maybe I should. That feels wrong, though. But then again, so does staying. I feel like shit and I’m so full of shame that I want to punch my fist through the wall. Instead, I zip my pants back up and walk over to her couch to wait. I turn on the table lamp and even though it’s dim, it feels blaringly bright and I have to squint my eyes.
When she comes out, she has changed into some soft shorts and a t-shirt. Her face is cleaned up and I assume her thighs and the area between them are too. She is no longer crying, but I can still see the tell-tale signs of red-rimmed eyes and flushed cheeks. I’m surprised when she comes and sits down next to me, laying her head on my shoulder.
“I’m sorry,” I say again, because I can’t think of anything better to say.
“I know. Me too,” she says and she leans her body against mine.
She has nothing to be sorry for and I’m not sure what to do, so I put my arm around her and hug her to me. I kiss her forehead and she closes her eyes. I don’t know why she’s letting me do this, but it feels good and I like it. Just like every other time, I tell myself that maybe this time will be different. I can do this; I can be that person. I don’t want to be that other jealous, callous, hurtful person. I don’t want to be the asshole.
“Just don’t go yet, ok?” she says quietly with her cheek resting against my chest.
I smooth her hair and run my hand down her back. I don’t want to go. She feels good and warm and soft against my tension-filled body. She feels right. I want to tell her all of that, too. I want to say I’m sorry a million times over and beg for her forgiveness. I want to wake up with her next to me every day.
“You’re so beautiful, you know that?” I murmur into her hair as I brush my chin across the top of her head.
“Don’t do that,” she pleads, her voice soft. “Please.”
I decide I’m going to tell her how I really feel. Before the night is over, I’ll come clean. And then I’ll stay. If she’ll still have me.
“You are, though. I mean it.”
She doesn’t respond, but sighs and nestles in, holding me around my waist. Fuck, I have craved this. More than the dirty talk and the biting and the ferocious fucking. I want this. I want her. And I’m going to tell her.
The rest of the night goes by in a blur. It’s there, on the tip of my tongue the whole time. All I have to do is say it. But I don’t.
We fuck again, rough and hard, on the couch and on the floor. I leave more marks on her chest, branding her as my own. I tell her she’s mine, and I make her scream my name again, but I don’t say what I really mean.
We fuck in her bed, while we’re both tired and slightly drunk. I pump lazily into her while she lies underneath me and moans softly. I kiss her lips and tell her how gorgeous she is, and it’s not a lie because she is. I worship her body, running my tongue over every part of it, tasting her skin and her delicious arousal. I can taste my own cum as I lick into her soft folds and inside her pussy that’s been stretched and abused by my cock several times over.
There are so many opportunities and I don’t take any of them. I let her fold her body into mine as I hold her in the dark and I can say it right now. It would be easy and it would be the truth.
I want to be with you.
I want to be yours.
I want you to be mine and mine alone.
I want to stay.
But I am weak, and so I don’t.
She sleeps against me and I listen to her rhythmic breathing while I lie there wide awake. I think about all of the things I should have said. Everything I should have done and should not have done. I hate myself for all of it.
When the sun creeps in, and the faintest light is leaking through the curtains and cutting through the safety of the darkness, it all comes crashing back. I remember why I can’t stay and why those words just wouldn’t come out. The reality of the real world is glaringly obvious in the light of day and I remember all of it.
The real world is filled with everyday things like jobs and homes and bills to pay. Coworkers and families that want to meet you. Graduation and birthday parties. Movie and dinner dates, holidays and vacations. Marriage. Children. Normalcy.
There’s just no way any of that would work. I can’t fit into that life, even though I want to. I think of all of the things holding me back and they keep piling up until they are crushing me and I feel like I can’t breathe.
I am an assassin. A killer. A murderer. I have seen the end of the world and survived the most horrific things. I have PTSD and crippling anxiety. There are nightmares and paranoia and episodes of manic rage. I am old and I am tired. There is nothing left of me and nothing left to give. I am not meant for normalcy.
As I slowly remove her arm from across my chest, she stirs but she doesn’t wake. I take a moment to look at her. Her mind isn’t betraying her with vivid dreams of the world collapsing around her in a fiery blaze or sprays of bullets piercing her body. She is at peace and I am envious of that.
I am not good for her, I know that. I need to go and stay gone. She deserves stability and happiness and a million other things I cannot give her. So, I will be the asshole that leaves in the morning before she wakes, just like I always do. She will hate me and curse me and cry for me. And I will stay away this time. I have to.
I chance it by leaning in and brushing my lips across her forehead. Her face wrinkles up and then relaxes again, but she doesn’t wake. I slip out of the bed and out of the room, following the trail of discarded clothes and put them back on one by one. Then I am gone in the same flash of light that allowed me to enter there in the first place. A convenient exit that I have misused way too many times.
Outside, the sun is bright and the world is waking up. I can feel my resolve growing stronger as the new day builds. That was it, I am done. It was awful and I shouldn’t have done it, but it’s over now and I will not be repeating it. I am a pillar of inner strength. That was the last time and she is finally free of me. I am doing the right thing.
My strength is impressive, both inside and out. But it is not impenetrable, especially when darkness falls and the world around me grows quiet. When I am alone with nothing but my thoughts, and I just need to feel something good again.
Everyone has a weakness.

A family full of superheroes, and those fuckers had no idea that one of their brothers was missing. Too wrapped up in their own bullshit to care about anything else. All those superheroes, and it took a goddamn regular human to track down and save a missing Klaus.
I had been in Klaus’ room, waiting for him to come back, when I heard gunshots downstairs. I quickly dropped to the floor and got under his bed for protection. I was not super human, so there was absolutely zero way I was getting involved with whatever was happening. I hoped Klaus also wasn’t getting involved. I listened to the sound of footsteps running past the room, things crashing downstairs, and more gunshots. My breathing became heavier with panic with every passing sound.
I waited a few seconds after the noises went quiet, waiting for any signs of Klaus, or anyone for that matter, coming to check on me. When nothing happened, I hesitantly crawled out from under the bed. I heard slamming doors outside and looked out just in time to see two figures getting into a black car and drive away from the Hargreeves residence. Neither figure looked like any of the Hargreeves siblings, so I took this to mean that the danger had left.
I slowly opened Klaus’ bedroom door and started down the hallway. There was bullet holes in the walls and pictures knocked down. The bathroom door was still open, so I peaked inside but found it empty. There were signs that Klaus had been in there, but none as to where he had gone after his bath.
I could hear voices as I descended the stairs. The giant chandelier from the foyer was now laying shattered in the middle of the floor. An uneasy feeling started to grow in my stomach.
I found Diego, Allison, and Vanya in the living room.
“Hey,” I said, breaking up their conversation. “Where’s Klaus?”
“Who cares?” Diego retorted.
“Uncalled for, Diego,” Allison muttered. “(Y/N), are you okay?”
“Fine,” I said, glaring at Diego before turning to walk away. It was clear I was getting no help from them.
I searched the entire Hargreeves estate to no avail. I knew there was no way Klaus would leave without telling me. He could be a space case sometimes, but he usually remembered to tell me things. Also, he was in the bath. How would he just get out of there and leave during all that commotion without coming to put clothes on? I’d know if he left, I was sure of it.
A thought popped into my head then: the car I had seen drive away. I rushed to Reginald’s office, the one place in the whole house I knew would have a pen and paper. I quickly wrote down the details of the car before I could forget, including the license plate number.
There has to be a way I can find this car, I thought.
But how?
Driving around town was a no go. It was too big of a town, too many places they could’ve gone or still be going to. It would take me hours, even days. Klaus might not have that long.
There was one option I could try.
I ran back down over the stairs just in time to catch Diego leaving. “Wait! Diego, wait, I need a favor.”
He paused at the door and turned to face me. “What’s in it for me?”
I rolled my eyes. “What, are you 12?”
“No, just a man who knows an opportunity when he sees it.”
“Do me this favor or I get Luther to super strength kick you in the nuts.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me.”
He looked at me, as if trying to decide whether to call my bluff or not. After a few moments, he signed and said, “What do you want?”
“I need you to call your cop girlfriend.”
“Patch? Why?”
I couldn’t tell him my suspicions about Klaus’ disappearance. He’d never believe me. I had only properly met Klaus’ siblings a few days earlier, but I could already tell they thought very lowly of him. They would just brush off his sudden disappearance as him going off on a bender and not worry about it.
“I just need her help,” I responded instead. “Please Diego.”
He pulled his phone from his pocket and dialed Patch’s number. I thanked him profusely as I took his phone. It rang for a short while before Patch answered, “Diego, what do you w - ”
“Patch!” I cut her off. “Detective Patch, this is actually (Y/N), Diego’s brother’s girlfriend. I asked him to call you for me.”
“Oh, I remember you. You’re Klaus’ girlfriend. A little too stable for a guy like him.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard that before. Listen, I need a favor. I know this is a long shot because you don’t know me, but I needed a plate run on a car to try to find it. I assume cops can do that. Maybe I’m wrong, but it’s important. I - ” I looked over at Diego, who was looking down at his knives and clearly pretending he wasn’t listening. I lowered my voice to say, “I think something happened to Klaus.”
“If it’s something so serious you’re asking for police involvement, you may just want to file a report with the police.”
“No offence, but I don’t completely trust the cops to find him in time. I don’t even trust Klaus’ siblings and they have powers. Look, all I’m asking is any info you can find on this car, that’s it. Please Patch.”
There was a moment of silence. I expected her to say no. It was a big ask for her to do this for someone she didn’t even know. As far as I could tell, she didn’t even like Diego all that much right now. But I needed her to say yes. If she didn’t, I would already be at a severe disadvantage in finding Klaus before it was too late.
“Okay,” she said, finally. “Give me the information.”
I thanked her and gave her the details I had on the car. I also gave her my phone number so she’d call me and not Diego. I thanked Diego again as I gave him his phone back and went back to Klaus’ room to wait. There wasn’t much I could do until Patch got back to me about the car. If she couldn’t find any details about the car, I’d definitely be shit out of luck. I’d never find Klaus.
I paced up and down Klaus’ room. I kept looking out the window, as if the car would return and bring Klaus back safely. I could hear his siblings moving around the house, but not once coming to see where Klaus was. I knew Diego didn’t give a shit, but I thought maybe Allison or Vanya cared enough about their brother to be concerned when I said he was missing. Wishful thinking, I guess.
When my phone rang, I practically jumped out of my skin. I answered without checking the caller ID. “Hello?”
“I got your car,” came Patch’s voice. “And a location.”
Roughly 20 minutes later, I was parked outside of a motel. The car wasn’t in the parking lot, but Patch swore this was the last known location. It was dark and my body was starting to realize it hadn’t slept in well over 12 hours. But I pushed through it. I needed to find Klaus. I needed him to be alive and safe.
The car finally pulled into the lot nearly an hour later. All sleep immediately left my body as I sat up and watched intently. The car parked and a man and woman got out. They didn’t go around to the back of the car to take a third person out, so I could only assume that Klaus was already inside their room. I got out of my car, grabbing the crowbar I had taken as a weapon before starting to follow Klaus’ captors at a safe distance. They turned a corner and I paused to let them get far enough away to keep myself safe. When I peaked around the corner, they had gone into one of the rooms.
I silently crept down the block of rooms. There was only one room with the lights on, so it was easy to find where the assailants were. I peaked through the thin white curtains to see a figure tied to a chair between the two beds.
Klaus.
I could see his two captors stood facing him, side on to where I was but not able to see me. I couldn’t make out much as the curtains still blocked a lot of my vision.
I hadn’t thought this far ahead. What was the next step here? How did I get them out of the room long enough for me to save Klaus? Or how did I knock them out long enough?
They wouldn’t just answer the door if I knocked, would they?
I took the chance and knocked at the door. “Housekeeping!”
There was silence. I knew it was a long shot, but I had no other plan, and I wasn’t sure how much time I had.
I tried again, knocking three times and repeating, “Housekeeping!”
My heart jumped when I heard the doorknob turn and the door suddenly opened. A tall man with brown hair and a beard looked down at me. Realizing that I wasn’t housekeeping, he looked at me in confusion.
I smiled. “Hello.”
And then I swung my crowbar.
It connected with the side of his head, knocking him to the door. I was surprised by how little effort it took to take him down. Now, where’s the other one?
My question was quickly answered by the sound of gunshots. I dove behind the nearest bed as the woman stepped out of the bathroom, now wearing a mask and shooting at me as I fell to the ground. I should’ve known they’d have guns. I heard the gunshots when I was at the Hargreeves’ place. And yet I came with a crowbar in hand, something that I needed to be very close to the attackers in order to use.
Stupid!
I looked over to where the man was laying unconscious. His white button up shirt was tucked into his pants, revealing his own holster with the gun. I knew it was a bad idea, but I needed to get that gun. At least to try and defend myself from this lady attacker.
I inched forward slowly. She had stopped shooting at me, so I knew she was just waiting for me to come out from my hiding spot. I had a short period of time to try and grab the gun and dive back to where I was hiding before her bullets finally made connections with my body. I had to grab something to cover me, or at least that would hopefully cover me, long enough for me to get the gun.
I looked up to see the a large briefcase on the table behind me. It was a long shot, I’m pretty sure bullets can go through briefcases, but it was all that I had. I turned so my feet were facing towards the table and kicked it. The briefcase wobbled slightly, but didn’t move.
“Hey!” called the female attacker. “What are you doing?!”
I kicked the table again and the briefcase fell over, the handle facing outwards. I reached up and grabbed it, pulling it down just in time for another bullet to whiz past my hand.
“You’re not a very good shot,” I taunted.
I held the briefcase in front of my body as I scurried out from behind the bed towards the unconscious man. I heard more gunshots and, surprisingly, they ricocheted off the briefcase.
This thing must be maid of titanium or something. It can’t be a normal briefcase.
I fumbled with the latch on his holster as another shot ran out, bouncing off the briefcase again. My hands were shaking and my heart was pounding with adrenaline. I needed to get this thing off. I needed this to be a fair fight. When the latch finally popped free, I breathed a sigh of relief before taking the gun and diving back behind the bed, taking the briefcase with me. I had a feeling it was something important, and maybe I could exchange it for Klaus.
“Listen!” I called. “I’ve never dealt with all this shooting and kidnapping shit before. I’m not part of the Umbrella Academy, I don’t have powers, I’m just a normal person. I came here because I think you took my boyfriend and I want him back. Whatever you have against the Umbrella Academy I can assure you has nothing to do with Klaus. If you’d just give him up to me, I’ll give you back your briefcase and we’ll leave. I promise you we won’t interfere with whatever you have going on. Truthfully, I don’t even really like Klaus’ siblings right now, so if you want to go after them I won’t be standing in your way.”
There was silence. I was starting to get sick of this type of silence. Either agree or disagree with what I was saying. It wasn’t that deep to have to think about it for this long about my proposition.
Another gunshot rang out, so I took that as a no.
My hands were still shaking as I popped up from behind the bed and started blindly shooting. I had never handled a gun before. They were loud and extremely scary. I knew there was very little chance I would actually hit her, but maybe if I was lucky I’d get a good shot in and I could just take Klaus and run.
It didn’t take long for me to use up all of my bullets. I looked up to see that she was nowhere to be seen. I started to rise to my feet, hoping I had hit her and she was laying on the ground. But, of course, no such luck. The moment I stood, she came out of the bathroom again, gun lifted and aimed at me. My quick instincts were suddenly gone as I stared down the barrel of the gun that would undoubtably kill me. I wondered if Klaus’ siblings would find him before he joined me in my fate. I wondered if Diego would feel guilty for not listening to me when I asked him about Klaus being missing. If any of them would even feel somewhat remorseful for not saving me or Klaus in time.
Instead of another shot ringing out, though, the gun just clicked. Both of us looked at each other - well, I looked at her, her mask looked at me - dumbfounded. She tried again and got the same results. A laughed bubbled in my throat and escaped my lips before I could stop it.
Her gun had ran out of bullets, too.
She dropped the gun and lunged over the two beds towards me. She took my off guard long enough to knock me to the ground. I tried to swing at her, but her mask was just as hard as the briefcase was. I howled in pain as my fist collided with the mask for the first time, definitely shattering the bones in my hand. She seemed delighted by the fact that I was caught off guard again and punched me in the face. Pain exploded from my nose causing tears to well up into my eyes.
My crowbar was laying just inches away from me, next to the briefcase. Either one of those things would definitely work in this situation, but I had to hit her just right on the back of her head. It was obvious hitting the mask would only protect her. And I had to do it while she least expected it. If she knew what my plan was, she’d stop me in an instant and probably take me out with her own bare hands.
I stretched an arm out as she hit me again. The pain was almost unbearable. I’d have to get my nose and my hand looked at by a doctor I was sure, but for now I had to focus on surviving this attack and saving Klaus. I felt my fingers brush against one of the two potential weapons and closed them around it. I wasn’t sure which one I had grabbed, but it didn’t matter to me now. I grit my teeth against the pain and hissed out, “You should’ve taken my deal.”
I swung and the briefcase collided with the back of her head. She fell off of me, limp on the ground. I looked down at her to see blood forming on the back of her head. Knowing she was down for the count, I quickly stood and looked for where they could’ve hidden Klaus. It didn’t take long, though, as the silence finally fell over the room made it easier to hear the sound of muffled yelling coming from the closet. When I threw the doors open, I found Klaus, wrapped only in a towel and tied to the chair. His face was just as blood as mine was.
I nearly sobbed as I reached to take the tape off of his mouth.
“You found me,” he breathed.
“I wasn’t giving up until I did,” I said. “Come on, let’s get you out of here before they wake up.”
I undid his bindings and helped him to his feet. We started out of the room, but I paused to take my crowbar and the briefcase. I figured I could use some leverage if these assholes tried to come after us again.
We scurried across the parking lot to my car. My hand and nose were throbbing. I cradled my hand on my lap and drove with the other towards my house. I felt it was a better option than going back to the Hargreeves’ place. I didn’t want his siblings to see both of us all beat up and realize I had been right about Klaus’ disappearance. Not yet, anyways. I’d save the gloating for later.
When we got back to my place, I ran the shower for Klaus so he could clean himself up. I wrapped my hand in gauze from my first aid kit and held an icepack to my nose until the swelling went down. I then cleaned the blood from my face, careful not to accidentally bump my nose. I’d need to seek medical attention, but that was for a later time.
Klaus had clothes at my place, so I laid them out on my bed for him. Poor thing had been in just a towel for who knows how long.
When he came into my room, he paused at the door to look over me. He winced as he looked at my wrapped up hand. “Did they hurt you bad?”
“Well, this was me actually,” I said. “Those fucking masks were harder than I expected them to be. But she did break my nose. I’ll go see a doctor tomorrow. Did they hurt you bad?”
“No broken bones.” He took the clothes from my bed and changed into them. “I can’t believe you risked your life for me like that.”
“Of course I did. Why wouldn’t I? They took you and they were hurting you.”
“I have superhuman siblings, though.”
I shook my head. “Too wrapped up in themselves to even listen to me. There was no other choice than for me to come find you myself.”
Klaus climbed into bed next to me. I rolled onto my side to face him, and he did the same, propping himself up on his elbow as he did so.
“I can’t believe you knocked both of them out on your own,” he said. “I heard all that gunfire and thought for sure you were dead.”
“Well, the guy wasn’t too hard to take down. He answered the door with no mask on, so I just hit him with the crowbar I brought with me. The woman put up more of a fight. I was lucky she was dumb enough to empty her gun while trying to shoot me or else I likely would’ve been a goner.”
He looked over me again. There was a look in his eyes I couldn’t quite place. It was like a combination of things. Love was the one thing I was sure I was seeing.
“I can’t believe you came for me,” he said again.
I smiled and leaned closer to him. “I love you, Klaus. I’d do anything to make sure you were safe. That includes risking my life to go after two kidnappers with guns and titanium masks on my own to save you from them.”
Klaus smiled. Tears were welling up in his eyes. He pulled me the rest of the way forward, closing the gap between us to kiss me. I wrapped my arms around him, leaning forward into the kiss so the two of us were laying down. I winced briefly as my nose brushed against his, sending a slight pain through my face.
“Sorry,” Klaus said, his voice soft. “You need to get that fixed. I can’t just not kiss you.”
I giggled. “Tomorrow, I promise. We need to rest now, though. We both had quite the night.”
As if finally realizing how tired he was, Klaus yawned and nodded. I settled into the bed next to him, cuddling into his chest. I could hear his heart beating as he drifted off to sleep. I used it as a reminder that he was there, that I had saved him, as my adrenaline finally wore off and I finally fell asleep.

Five x reader blurb
I just expect new Five fanfics to be written and there for me every second of the day.
Not like there’s actual people thinking of and writing these ideas 🙄😩
Not like it also takes me like a week to write a one shot 😭
So here's a Five x reader thought to ease my brain.
Tags: platonic Klaus, romantic Five, fluff, angst ig, some silly moments.
——————
Imagine getting separated from him in the 60’s and that moment when you all reunite and you see him again.
For him it’s only been a couple days
For you it’s been years.
When you fell into that alley way you were incredibly distraught. Not unfamiliar with the act of time travel, but Five or another commission partner was always there. You were alone, stranded in a different place and time, stuck in a younger body. The things that could happen.
You searched for any sign of the date. Newspapers, posters. It was 1961.
You’d wandered around that alley for hours. Waiting for someone else to show up.
You gave up after a while, deciding to ask strangers for help. How would any of them help you find your strange time scattered family.
You spotted a flyer, a flyer with a familiar face on it… Klaus. Looks like he was a messiah or something. You wouldn’t question it. You just knew you had to find him.
You hitched a ride, and found yourself at a big mansion. You don’t know how long Klaus had been here but damn he’s moved up in the world.
You wandered into the large house looking for him. People in light turquoise tunics were everywhere. One woman stopped you in the main foyer. “Welcome traveler, are you here to join us in our endeavors?” She asked. “Um- I’m looking for Klaus.” You held up the flyer. “The prophet! Yes, he’s right this way.”
The woman led you to a bedroom in the back of house. She pushed open the double doors to reveal the man you’d been looking for, bent over in downward dog.
The woman cleared her throat “Prophet? There’s someone here for you.”
Klaus rose from the floor and turned to face you. As soon as he saw you a bright smile plastered his face. He let out a breathy chuckle and clasped his hands together. “Y/n! You’re here!” He held his hands out and walked towards you. “Oh it’s been so crazy, when did you get here?” He asked placing his hands on your shoulders.
“It’s good to see you Klaus, I’m glad I found at least one of you idiots. I’ve been here since like yesterday. I uh, saw your flyer.”
“Mm yeah those…” said Klaus. “I got here like a year ago. Tricked some rich old lady.” Klaus giggled.
“We should find the others.”
“What? Why?” Klaus whined. “I’m having a good tiimeee. And besides some of them might not even be here yet. I’m sure Five will come collect us when the world is ending… again.”
“Five.” You say.
“Oh yeah… I don’t know if he’s here yet babe. Don’t go hurting yourself looking for him though, you know him… he’ll find us.” Klaus says in his melodic way.
——
When Diego showed up at the mansion to collect you and Klaus- or rather Ben- apparently. It was safe to say you were ecstatic. Diego didn’t have a lot of time to explain, but he did say that Five had found a way to get back to 2019.
Ben had some “unattended ghost business” to attend to so you sat around waiting for him for a good 10 minutes. Anxiously biding your time, shaking your leg, biting your nails. Five always told you to top doing that.
You hadn’t seen him in two years. You were shamed to admit that sometimes you would forget about what happened before ending up in 61. Maybe Klaus’ cult lifestyle really was calming the mind.
You don’t even know if Five missed you as much as you did him. You don’t know how long he’s been here, but the only thing on your mind is how you can’t wait to see him.
———
Klaus/Ben dragged you out the front door of the mansion, leaving the cult behind. No goodbyes, no last words of wisdom. Except for something from The Backstreet Boys.
The two of you rushed all the way to town and to the shop Diego told you to meet at.
Klaus stumbled into the alley way, struggling against himself, smacking himself in the face, shoving himself around. He ended up projectile vomiting across the ground, and whining on his knees.
Five yelled at him and threw the briefcase into the air as it went off. Their best chance of escape- gone.
Five; blinded by his rage didn't seem to notice you standing at the end of the alley.
“It was a simple task!” He complained, “meet me here within the time I told you, and we all get our real lives back! But no! Of course only two of you show up!”
“Three, actually.” You say, walking down the alley towards Five.
He turns towards the sound of your voice. His eyes grow wide for a second and a quick smile spreads on his lips. Your name comes out soft and breathy, as if he can’t believe you’re really there.
A grin is plastered across your face, and your eyes water at the sight of him. Your steps towards him quicken and his do as well. He meets you halfway and blinks right up to you, arms already open. You crash right into his arms, grip the back of his blazer, and bury your head into the crook of his neck. You breathe in his familiar scent and release a shaky sigh.
“I missed you.” You mumble.
“I missed you too. Are you okay? Not hurt? How long have you been here?” Five bombards you with questions as he pulls away and examines your face in his hands.
“Two years, I got here in 61.”
“I'm so sorry.” Five whispers, resting his forehead against yours.
"It's not your fault. I found Klaus so it was... slightly bearable." you chuckled softly. "How long have you been here?" You ask.
"I got here just a few days ago." Five says.
"Well I'm glad I found you." you say, hugging Five tighter.
----------
(AN: Next I present to you random dialogue from this story line that I don't want to fully write out into a detailed scenario)
--------
"Y/n, sweetheart, for the itching." Five says while handing you the bottle of baby powder.
"Itching? There's itching?" Questions Luther. Five ignores him.
--------
"Can't wait to meet our old selves, it's going to be so weird." You say.
"Focus y/n, we just have to get that briefcase." Five says.
"Yeah fine, you're already paranoid without the psychosis." You say.
-------
"Who the hell are you?" Asks old Five.
"Who do you think, dumb ass?" Says old y/n.
Old Five looks back and forth between the two y/ns.
------
As young and old Five beat the crap out of each other, and occasionally Luther; "Boys." old y/n sighs, wiping sweat from their brow and shifting uncomfortably. "Tell me about it." Says young y/n itching, eyes shifting around paranoid. "Just wait till you meet the rest of his brothers."
------
On the farm after Five kills The Handler;
Five lets out a breath he didn't realize he was holding as he watched the last Swede walk away. He turns around and blinks to where you stand. He takes you into his arms and holds you close. You hold him back, although a bit confused.
"What happened Five?" You whisper. You're familiar with Five, and with time travel. You figured he used his power to fix something that happened.
"You died." He mutters quickly, resting his head on your shoulder.
"Ah." You pause. "And you saved me." you reassure him.
He sighs and pulls away. He presses a kiss to your cheek and rests his nose against your temple. "Let's get out of here yeah? Let's go home."
"Yeah, let's go."
---------
Well that starting as something and then turned into something else. I just have a Five deficiency.
I hope you enjoy whatever the hell this turned out to be.
Um I'm not like taking requests officially but if you have an idea I can try to write it within like a week T-T

I’ve seen people talking about how Klaus is looking in the opposite direction in this picture, and as I was rewatching the series I noticed this picture in season one where (I think) Klaus is facing the other way….. I could be wrong but I think that’s either Klaus/Ben. Anyone find this intriguing???

[ID: an illustration of Delores as a mermaid swimming in a pool and looking at Five. It is a distant overhead shot in 3 point perspective. They are in the ruins of what might be a courtyard or a bathhouse. The color palette is made of teals, oranges, pinks, and yellows. Also in the ruins are a handful of trees and plants, a stone bench, and a frieze of a mermaid. End ID.]
i dont really know what this is. why is delores a mermaid? what is this building? why is there a mermaid in it? what does this have to do with the umbrella academy? where did five find a mermaid? all of these questions and more are completely unanswered and you can decide for yourself. i just wanted to draw a mermaid, and tile, and five and delores, and a statue, all at the same time. enjoy!

Lucky - Diego Hargreeves
Warnings: Language, mentions of blood, violence, injured reader.
AN: Some scrap of best boy Diego idk.
Tumblr media
"It's okay to cry, honey" The words of Diego, your partner in crime burned against the silence as he tended to your wound. He knew it hurt, more than you would admit, and he was trying his best to be gentle, but when tending to that of a bullet wound, such things came to be difficult.
"Don't patronize me Diego"
"I'm not patronizing you" Your leg screamed, pain ripping at your thigh with the force of a thousand stray cats hungry for a fight, but you were still just as feisty as you'd always been. Diego loved that about you, but it certainly made you hard to help. "You know, I could just leave you here to bleed out and die".
Diego watched your face contort in both pain and contemplation, "Your big boy hero complex is too strong for that". God, you made it hard to like you, yet somehow, Diego did.
"I don't have a big boy hero complex".
Diego listened to you snort as he wiped the blood from your leg. He was surprised at how you let him help you, having expected the all too famous 'I'm fine, I can do it myself'. He was beyond shocked you hadn't broken his nose yet, and that was nowhere near an exaggeration.
"You do have a hero complex, it's ninety percent of your personality Hargreeves".
"Okay," Diego admitted, allowing himself a small nod "I might have something of a hero complex, but isn't ninety percent of me".
Diego hadn't expected the smile that formed on your lips despite your pain. He knew you were trying your best to stay calm, despite the situation and he tried his best to stay composed himself.
"Seventy percent".
"How about thirty percent?" as much as he hated giving into your teases, Diego couldn't help himself. If a bargain would take your mind off the bullet in your thigh, the blood pouring from your body, so be it.
"How about fifty?" You still held your smile, but your voice was shaky with pain, as was expected in the least.
"Okay so maybe fifty percent of me is a hero complex, so what?" Diego glanced down at your injury, barely visible through smudges of blood. He tried his best not to panic at the sight, but it really was a lot.
"Tell me the truth Diego, how bad is it?".
"How would you feel if I told you a hospital trip might be in order?".
There was a short silence before a loud groan escaped your lips, making Diego wince. He knew what you would be thinking, the exact same as him. He'd made up a story in his head, what they would tell the nurses and doctors when they headed in to get you stitched up.
"You have the worst kind of luck"
Your eyes were still screwed up tight, head resting on the wall of the alley you lay in. "Don't you think I know that Diego?".
"Okay" Diego let out a huff, his efforts to fix you up doing no good for either of you. "Get in the car, we're going to the emergency room".
You groaned in response but allowed Diego to assist you to the vehicle. He knew well enough you would never hitch a ride in an ambulance so, Diego braced himself for a week of cleaning your blood off his seats.
The drive there was not easy, every bump in the road causing you to yelp out in pain despite yourself, but soon enough Diego was slamming on the brake, your destination no more than a few feet away.
"Can I have some help over here?" He knew you hated the attention, the eyes of those that most likely had been waiting hours to see a doctor or even nurse, turning in the direction of his voice only to catch sight of someone who no doubt would be attended to before them.
You left a trail of blood in your wake as you were moved to a private room, as to which nurses set to work on professionally fixing up your wound. Diego couldn't deny that he'd made a mess of it.
"Sir?" a nurse turned, facing Diego with the politest of smiles. Her blonde hair tied back in a bun, uniform pristine white. Diego thought she looked like something from a horror movie. The untrustworthy doctor’s assistant that led you to your death. "Would you mind? This might hurt". The lady gestured toward your hand and Diego understood the assignment he had been given, though he wasn't sure you would let him carry it out. The nurse had clearly never met you, nor had to experience your wrath.
You must have seen his wary eyes, wondering if he should indeed follow through with what had been asked of him, because you grasped his hand quickly, tugging him over to you. "God just hold my hand, I'm not that scary".
"You most definitely are".
"Shut up- oh Jesus Christ!" The nurse without warning had begun rubbing at your wound with disinfectant, you squeezing Diego's hand tightly in response.
"What were you saying?" He couldn't help but tease, knowing you would do the exact same to him if the roles were reversed, though in truth he was just trying to cover for the fact that he wasn't used to seeing you in so much pain. It scared him, as much as he hated to admit it.
"I will stab you Hargreeves, I swear on my-" you were cut off again as the nurse once again gave no warning, starting upon sewing up the wound. A string of curse words left your lips, tears springing to your eyes that you couldn't push down any longer.
Placing his free hand on your shoulder Diego gave it a light squeeze. "Look at me, it won't hurt if you look at me".
You turned, locking eyes with the umbrella academy graduate only to release a low growl "It still fucking hurts Diego".
"Let me kiss it better". Diego puckered his lips at you, hoping for a laugh or even a smile to ease your pain, but of course you weren't that type of person.
"If you even try such a thing, I will burn your lips off".
Diego smirked at that, taking notice of how your time spent sending him fake threats took your mind off the pain. Soon enough, many curse words later, you were stitched up and told to wait for paperwork, a wheelchair, and the official go from the doctor. Diego stood beside you, still holding your hand despite it all being over. The best part was that you hadn't told him to let go.
"You, okay?" Diego let the question slip, watching as you nodded slowly eyeing your stitches.
"Thanks" The word came in a mumble, but Diego heard you just fine, trying to hide his smile as you avoided his gaze. Diego then let himself lean forward, pressing a short kiss to the top of your head. There was a silence to which Diego thought he would be beaten half to death for such an act, but you simply sat there still grasping his hand.
"My lips are still intact it seems".
You glanced his way, a small grumble escaping you "They won't be if you keep talking".
"Oh my god" Diego's eyes widened, the realisation dawning on him. "You liked that didn't you?".
You let out a small "No”, but he'd caught you appreciating his affections and had no intention of letting it go. It was the one time when he hadn't been beaten half to death for caring about you, he wanted to make sure you knew how much that meant. He also wanted you to admit that you enjoyed such care.
"You like holding my hand".
"No, I don't".
"Then why won't you let go?".
There was silence, you avoiding his gaze once again before you heaved a sigh.
"If I admit that I don't despise you, will leave me alone?".
Diego nodded, smile on his lips "I don't think you want me to leave you alone, but sure".
You were quiet for a moment, looking toward the white basin in the corner of the room "I like holding your hand Diego Hargreeves, but you better not let it go to your head".
"Too late for that sweetheart" Diego was grinning from ear to ear, eyeing you closely, and for a mere second, he swore he saw a smile threatening to spill upon your own lips. This he didn't mention however, believing you'd had enough teasing for today. In a few days from now, Diego would bring it up again, but for now he was content with the fact that maybe you liked him just as much as he did you.

Let me look into your eyes 1/2
Tumblr media
Warning/s: Minors DNI! Usage of Ben's tentacles, Sub! Sparrow Ben ahead, Dom! Fem! Reader. If there are any warnings that haven't been mentioned, please let me know.
Summary: You don't like looking at people you don't know directly in the eyes, but you had your last straw with the other Ben and let's just say he's a good boy for not breaking any eye contact with you.
Word count: 1,7k+
A/N: I'm sorry that it took me few days to finish this. I already told you guys that it's been a long time since the last time I've written a smut so... I'll admit that I'm getting rusty. This is how I feel about Sparrow Ben, I feel like he needs more validation because of what he'd been through. Anyways, without any further ado here's the one-shot. Feedbacks / coffee are very much appreciated!
1/2 2/2
~~~
"Let me look into your eyes."
You're actually fine doing eye contact with the people you know but Ben from Sparrow Academy is a different kind of Ben. He was bolder and more extroverted compared to the deceased Ben that you know from Umbrella Academy. After the kidnap incident with Fei, Sloane, and Chris you are now held captive in their mansion.
You couldn't help but wonder how Ben ended up in this room with you and now his tentacles pinning you down and staring at you hungrily.
(Recap when you're at the dining area with them for breakfast)
"I told you Marcus wasn't with us!"
You practically half-shouted to Ben who's clearly not buying your reason, of course, you were from the other timeline and it's only normal for them to find it weird and suspicious about your sudden appearance.
"You think we're going to buy that crap?"
"Look, if this is really because of Viktor meeting Marcus? I had no idea either so please just let me go."
You massage your temple just to avoid any eye contact from him. You weren't sure if his siblings can sense the sexual tension between the two of you, but Ben just rolled his eyes and decided to call it a day. After you finish your breakfast, you just stay in the room they let you stay in.
~~~
As the time passes by you didn't notice that you fall asleep, maybe because of the exhaustion that you've been through for the past few days, that's when you woke up from the door creaking open and instead of waking up immediately, you decided to just play along.
"You missed lunch and dinner."
It was Ben. Instead of answering his question, you decided to roll over on your left side, back facing him. You weren't sure why you did this but it's probably your instincts or you want to see what he will do to you now that you guys are all alone in the room.
"Is she really sleeping or just messing with me?"
When he's about to reach out and tap on your shoulder you stretch out and yawn, now laying on your back you we're caught off guard when his tentacles pinned both of your wrists on top of your head.
"Wake up sleepy head, I already heard your stomach rumble just a minute ago."
"Is it really necessary to use your tentacles?"
Ben rolled his eyes but he didn't listen to your response and while he remove his tentacles on your wrists he immediately climbs on top of you and used his one hand to hold your wrists, again.
"Not really a huge fan of tentacles huh? Rude."
"N-no it's just that… I- rather want to feel your warmth."
You stuttered which made him smirk, still avoiding his eye contact you feel his hot breath on your exposed collarbone, so he took the chance to bite and kiss sensually making you quiver. He had barely done anything, and you could feel your core getting hot and wet at any second.
(back to present time)
"Let me look into your eyes."
He said between bites and kisses on your collarbone which made you quiver, then he proceeded to put his knee between your thighs. This made you grind your hips on his knee, you could almost feel his smirk on how your body responded to his.
"Feeling hot and bothered already (Y/N)?"
Your breath hitched when he brushed his lips to your left ear, causing you to grind your hips on his knee. You can't take it anymore, clenching your jaw you decided to flip him over. You've been wanting to teach him a lesson since the day you appeared here in Sparrow alongside your siblings, but you never got a chance.
He was about to say something, but you cupped his cheeks and start kissing him hungrily, all of the pent-up energy is now flowing back to your system, this time you want to be in control. Ben starts to roam his hands over your chest and while he’s about to unbutton your shirt, you speak up.
"I didn't say you can touch me, brat."
Ben is now too stunned to speak. He'd be lying to himself that he didn’t find this hot, you taking control over him but he's a stubborn one, he wants to see what things you will do to him if he would disobey you.
"What you're going to do about that then hmm?"
You manage to remove your lingerie underneath your skirt to put it in his mouth. As much as you want to hear him whimper, you're pretty sure there would be another next time for this.
"You talk too much, now will you be a good boy for mommy will ya?"
Now that you got a chance, you controlled his mind to not move any of his limbs. He’s trying to break free from you but there’s no use, he can’t even let his tentacles out, and now that you’re in control, oh the things that you want to do with this bad boy Ben. Tracing your fingers on his exposed collarbone, you ripped his shirt off, and now that his upper body is exposed before you, you run your fingers on his chest admiring every single part of him.
“You want me to stare at your eyes right? Now be a good boy and don’t look away.”
Ben whimpered in response as you continue to grind your hips onto his crotch, you could almost feel his cock getting harder by any second and you know that he love this, the way his breath hitches when you pull his hair, ghosting his neck with your lips leaving bruises that it will surely last for days.
Removing the lingerie that you put in his mouth earlier he tried to mutter something, tilting your head to the side you admire how his demeanor had changed, he was now being shy a bit of a mess too that is and you’re savoring every each of this.
“Use your words.”
“C-can… can you p-please… f-fuck me?”
He let out breathy moans, this is the side of Ben you've been wanting to see since day one and now you got the chance.
"It hurts doesn't it?"
You can feel his bulge throbbing between your cunt as you grind to his crotch even harder.
 "Ngh.. P-please.. Hah.."
"Please what?"
As you wait for his response you start to unzip his pants without breaking any eye contact with him, you could almost feel him arch his hips to your touch. So desperate needy boy he is, wanting to be recognized and to be given a reward for being a good obedient boy he is.
“P-please don’t s-stop… j-just take what you w-want… n-ngh.. h-hah..”
He murmured between moans; you’re enjoying this side of his way too much. His hair is a mess, his lustful eyes staring back at you not breaking any contact, his flushed cheeks, and chest, his soft reddened lips from your previous kiss. Finally removing his pants while leaving his boxers on, you run your fingers lightly to his bulge. You could feel him losing his composure.
“Mngh…! P-please make a m-mess o-of m-me… h-hah… I’ll b-be y-your mgh…”
“Be my what?”
“g-good b-boy… ngh… I’ll be y-your g-good b-boy… I.. hah.. I- mgh… I p-promise…”
Letting his cock out you could almost feel twitch his length to your hand. You’ve only done kissing and biting him and his precum is almost leaking in your fingertips.
"In one condition."
Crawling down onto his thighs not breaking any eye contact with him, you could feel his muscles tighten from you sucking and biting his flesh leaving bruises that will surely stay for days.
"a-anything f-for ngh.. anything for you m-mgh- m-mommy-"
You dig your nails to his thighs which made the young man roll his eyes back and inhaled sharply as he look back at you lustfully.
“Good. I want you and your siblings to cooperate with us. We mean no harm, I also noticed that there’s a bigger problem going on so…”
“B-but-“
“Will you be good and listen to mommy?”
Licking the tip of his cock, he bucked his hips into your mouth when he’s about to hit the back of your throat you held him down. Pulling his length out of your mouth you waited for his response.
“I- I will- just let m-me ngh… hah- gah… l-let mgh.. let me c-cum, p-please?”
“Only if you agree that you and your siblings will cooperate with us.”
“I-I’ll tell them, I ngh… I will t-try to gah… convince t-them- ngh…”
“I know you’ll be a good boy for me.”
Kissing the tip of his cock, you force him to take it inside of your mouth never breaking any eye contact with him. Ben being sensitive as he is you decided to pull him out of your mouth. Did you just hear him whimper? Oh god, the sound that he makes is such music to your ears.
“P-please ngh- m-mommy- ngh… m-make me y-yours ngh…“
He manages to speak up between shaky breaths, you take him inside of your mouth again. Swirling your tongue on the tip of it while gripping hard to his thighs. Controlling his mind again, you let him buck his hips to your mouth hitting the back of your throat again.
He loves it so much, seeing him grip the bedsheets he’s a moaning mess, thrusting in and out of your mouth only focusing on his own pleasure. You’d sure as hell your throat and mouth will feel sore by tomorrow, but it doesn’t really matter. Seeing the most confident man in the room, begging to cum already satisfies you.
“M-mommy- n-ngh.. h-hah... I-I’m close h-hah...”
Not long after his movements become sloppier, controlling his mind again you freed both of his arms. Resting his hands on your head he finally came deep inside of your throat, and you gulp every drop of his seed. Pulling him out of your mouth, you manage to take a few breaths.
On the other hand, Ben is now a complete moaning mess. He was muttering something underneath his breath but you couldn’t comprehend, when he managed to look at you he look so dazed, feeling hazy as if his head is over the clouds. This is going to be a long night for both of you.
~~~
You’re worried because he passed out from what you did to him, he was overstimulated. He’s been sleeping for an hour now and hasn’t moved an inch, but at least he finally learned his lesson; do not underestimate a Hargreeves.
want me to kill him for you? | diego hargreeves
Tumblr media
Pairing: Diego Hargreeves x g/n!reader
Warnings: fluff, venting, swearing, mentions of sex, this is rlly short and meaningless
Request: not anyone really, but my mutuals on tumblr @anne-is-obsessed @panandinpain0 (as well as this post) inspired me to write this
A/N: people suck, the only exceptions are Diego and probably some other people
Diego nearly jumped as he heard the door loudly slam shut.
“Y/N, you ok?” he asked, shifting his position on the couch to face where you were standing. It was out of character for you to be slamming doors for no reason, so he figured something was up.
He then heard the sound of footsteps stomping toward him, and he felt you slump down beside him, resting your head against his shoulder. He picked up the remote for the tv, careful not to disrupt your position as he turned off the tv to give you his full attention.
”Is everything ok?” he whispered.
Turns out he didn’t need to be careful of not disrupting your position, as you almost immediately shot up from the couch, pacing around the room as you began ranting.
Diego knew about the shitty job you had. It wasn’t the work that made it shitty, but the people that made it shitty. He listened to every story you told him about what coworker ruined your shift, or what customer tried getting you fired. He moved out when he was seventeen, so he was no stranger to terrible jobs, and knew what it was like to need to vent to someone about it. From past experience, he knew it was never a good idea to keep emotions bottled up, so he would always be there to listen to you.
"He's just such an asshole, Diego. All of them are." you began, frustration dripped with every word, "He just acts like he's so much better than me, yet he still manages to fuck up everything. What's worse, is that he never gets any blame for it!" you vented, before scoffing, "Of course he doesn't, he's been fucking our boss ever since he started working there."
Diego raised his eyebrows slightly. He hadn't heard that story before.
You let out a long sigh, your legs becoming tired from all the pacing, before you collapsed back onto the couch, resting your head on Diego's lap, "Hating things takes a lot of energy." you sighed.
Diego just nodded, "Want me to kill him for you?"
You smiled at Diego, staring up at him with adoration, "Aww, babe..."
"Is that a y-"
"No." you cut him off, your smile not fading in the slightest.
"Why not?" he asked, looking genuinely confused.
"Because you can't just kill anyone who annoys you or myself." you explained, sitting up from his lap to meet his eyes properly.
Diego tilted his head to the side with a grin, "Is it that I can't kill him?" he began, making you groan in annoyance, "Or that I'm not allowed to kill him."
You rolled your eyes, "No offense but I wish you never saw 'Everything Everywhere All At Once'."
"Why not?"
"Because you use that excuse to not do the dishes all the time." you deadpanned.
He shrugged, "Well, am I allowed to cuddle you and watch movies with you?"
You smiled brightly at him, "I think so."
Five has been distant lately, but you discover all he needs is a good workout to get his mind back on you again
Words: 2800
Five doesn’t always give you his utmost attention when he gets home. Some days he’s bursting through the door, pissed off about one thing or another, already in mid-sentence while he rants about the lack of brain cells in whoever was annoying him that day. So, you listen quietly, with an amused expression that you try and hide from him until he calms down enough for you to speak. Usually, all it takes is a soft kiss, a scratch down his back with your nails, and maybe even a stiff drink and he’s back to being putty in your hands.
You don’t care if he stomps around the kitchen, slamming cupboard doors and rattling the glasses inside. Or if he’s so worked up, he can’t sit still and he paces back and forth in the living room while muttering various curse words under his breath. You don’t mind because his anger is never aimed at you, and you are also the only one who can dare to try and calm him down without fear of bodily harm.
No, those things don’t bother you. What does bother you is when he outright ignores you. Those times when he hurries through the door, waves a hasty hello without even glancing up, and shuts himself away in his office. When you try and go to him, knocking hesitantly on the door and cracking it open, he’ll look up momentarily from whatever he’s doing, give you a brief smile, and he’s back at it again. On those days, you’ve learned to just let him be. But it still doesn’t make you any less irritated.
He knows it pisses you off. So, later, when you’ve gone to bed before him and you’re feigning sleep, he’ll slip in behind you and pull you close. He’ll whisper how much he loves you and place kisses along your shoulder and neck until you can’t take it anymore and you’re pushing back against him, having forgotten what you were mad about in the first place.
Those days used to be few and far between, but lately, it’s become a habit. Every day these past two weeks, it’s been one quick peck on the cheek or brief hug, before he’s back at his “research” and ignoring you behind closed doors. You’ve tried talking to him, and he says he’ll make an effort but so far you haven’t seen anything change. You know you have a solid relationship and he would never do anything to intentionally hurt you, but you’re not sure why he’s acting like this. Probably just because he’s an oblivious man wrapped up in his own world, but still, it’s making you worry.
When you are stressed, you usually throw yourself into some kind of physical activity. For a while it was kickboxing, and then it was tennis. Lately, it’s been yoga. It seems to work well for relaxing your mind while also getting a bit of a workout. Tonight you think about going to the studio that you usually frequent, but decide you’re too lazy and you’ll just do your own routine at home.
Five is still not home, but you aren’t going to wait for him. Not like it would matter anyway. You change into your sports bra and black leggings, pull your hair back in a ponytail, and fill up your water bottle. Once you are set up in the living room, with the lights dimmed and relaxing music playing, you begin with a few stretches and then move into some more advanced poses.
Your workout is an hour long and about 30 minutes in you have a nice sheen of sweat covering your body and you’re feeling good. The next half is more about cooling down and resetting your mind. As you are getting into position for the next pose, you hear Five open and close the door to the house, and his footsteps walking towards the room you’re in. You don’t stop what you’re doing. Your time is valuable too, and if he can’t be bothered to stop what he’s doing lately, then why should you?
You sense Five walk into the room just as you are bending over in downward facing dog, your hands on the floor in front of you and your ass in the air. You can’t see his face, but when you look through your legs, you can see that he has stopped in the doorway. Then you watch as his polished black dress shoes cross over one another and he leans into the door frame. When you stand up and look over your shoulder you see him casually watching you with a wolfish grin.
“Please, don’t let me stop you,” he says, gesturing with his hand for you to continue. His shirt sleeves are uncuffed and rolled up his forearms as he crosses his arms over his chest in an air of superiority.
You roll your eyes, but you’re smiling. “Is this what I have to do to get your attention these days? Bend over in tight pants?”
“It doesn’t hurt.”
You huff, turning away from him. “Well, I’m going to finish my workout, so either sit there quietly or go back to your office.”
“Alright, I will,” you hear him say as you get back to your routine.
Assuming he was talking about the latter of your two suggestions, you’re caught off guard when you see him cross over and sit down in one of the armchairs facing you.
“What are you doing?”
He shrugs with a smirk. “Sitting here quietly.”
Not really wanting to indulge him in whatever he’s up to, you turn away again with a loud sigh and move into another pose. There’s a few more minutes of balancing with your butt on display in Five’s direction, but he doesn’t say anything. Then you move onto the ground on your stomach, pushing the top half of your body up with your arms and looking towards the ceiling.
“So, what’s that one called?”
You sigh again. “Cobra. I thought you were supposed to be quiet.”
When you turn around again, your mouth opens in a partial gape as you watch Five in his chair. He is sitting with his legs splayed and his hand on the very prominent bulge in his crotch, eyeing you up like a hungry predator.
“I got your cobra right here, honey,” he says with a smile, and you can see he’s trying not to laugh at his stupid innuendo.
You try to hold in your own giggle but you can’t and you shake your head. “You’re disgusting.”
With another smart-ass grin, he pulls his tie off, discarding it on the floor. “No. Whipping out my dick and jerking off while watching you would be disgusting.”
Before you can make a comment, he starts doing exactly that; unbuckling his belt and unzipping the fly to his pants. He pushes them down far enough to expose his fully hard cock and he gives it a long stroke with his hand, all while keeping his eyes on you.
You should be disgusted. Or annoyed, at the very least. But, fuck, he looks hot sitting there with his sleeves rolled up and his hair flopping onto his forehead; thick cock in his hand. Your breath speeds up just a little and you swallow the pool of saliva that has collected in your mouth.
You clear your throat and flip your ponytail over your shoulder with a sly grin. “Well…you do what you want, I guess. I’m going to finish this workout.”
As you turn away, you decide you’re going to give him as good of a show as you can come up with. You get down on the ground in child’s pose, making sure to spread your knees out wide and push your ass back towards your heels while you splay your arms out in front of you in supplication. You can’t see him, but the thought of what he is doing while watching you is getting you wet and creating a damp spot in the crotch of your pants.
You are slow and deliberate with your movements, and you are back on your hands and knees, only this time you turn to face him. His breathing is louder as he shamelessly works his fist over his cock, running his thumb over the head and jerking his hips up. You can hear the wet slapping noises as his fingers spread the continuous flow of pre-cum over his shaft and he picks up the pace. One side of his mouth turns up as you look at him but he doesn’t slow his movements.
“Fuck, baby, keep going,” he breathes out.
With a breathy laugh you get back to it, pushing your ass up and arching your neck back in a cow pose. It gives him a nice view of your tits in your skimpy sports bra and you hear him let out a quiet grunt while he vigorously pleasures himself. When you flip around and push your hips towards the sky, legs spread wide in a bridge pose, you hear him moan softly.
Turning back over and staying on your hands and knees, you look up at him with wide, pleading eyes and start to crawl slowly towards him. His breath hitches in his throat when you stop between his legs, wetting your plump pink lips with your tongue and gazing up through a fan of dark lashes. Five lets out a long groan when you reach up and place your hand around his, guiding him as he slowly pumps his cock up and down.
“Do you want to fuck me, Daddy?” you ask as sweetly and innocently as possible.
Five lets out a growl through gritted teeth as he thrusts his hips up into the tight fist around his dick.
“Yes. Fuck, yes, I want to fuck you.”
You lean forward and run the flat of your tongue up the underside of his shaft, from base to tip, keeping your eyes on him until he closes his and leans his head back with a whine.
When you pull back, taking your hand with you, he looks back down at you with a deep crease between his dark brows as you start tracing one finger over the top of his thigh and sticking out your bottom lip.
“Five, I want nothing more than to feel your big, thick cock inside of me right now, but here’s the thing. Unless you get that gorgeous, brilliant head out of your ass and start making an effort to acknowledge me around here, I’m afraid that cobra of yours is going to get mighty lonely. Understand?”
Five lets out a disbelieving laugh. “You can’t be serious.”
You pout some more and then back away, shaking your head. “Sorry, baby. I’m very serious.”
Before you let him respond, your back is turned to him again and you’re bending over in an upside-down V shape while running a hand slowly over one ass cheek and down the back of your thigh.
“Fuck…” you hear him moan under his breath and you know you’ve got him. “I’m sorry,” he says, his voice sounding just a tad on the pitiful side. “I will make an effort to pay attention to you more.”
You look at him through your legs again, watching him pout with his dick in his hand, and you smile. “No more slinking into your office the minute you get home and ignoring me?”
“No, I promise. No more.”
You love that he’s practically begging you now, desperate and panting as you tease him with your tight, round ass in front of his face. You press back a little more to accentuate it.
“Alright then, as long as you promise. Now, what was it that you wanted to do to me?”
In a literal flash, Five is behind you, pants falling to the ground and his hands on your hips, tugging you backward. You shriek as he slams his pelvis into your backside, his solid cock pushing between your clothed legs. He yanks you back up to standing with a hand wrapped around your ponytail, his breath hot on your neck as his low and deadly voice buzzes over your skin.
“On your hands and knees. Daddy’s going to fuck you now.”
With a pathetic moan that is partly due to the fact that you can’t help yourself when it comes to his demands, you drop to the floor on your hands and knees. He’s behind you again, tugging at the waistband of your pants and pulling them down your thighs. When you feel his fingers slip in between your legs, your body instinctively reacts by pressing backward onto his hand.
“Five…” you whine, your head hanging down as he pushes his fingers inside you. “Please…”
“What’s wrong sweetheart? I thought you wanted more attention from me.”
You thrust your hips back and forth, fucking his fingers while you moan and gasp like some kind of feral creature. When he pulls his hand away, you feel his wet fingers on your back as he pushes your torso towards the ground. He’s teasing you with his cock, rubbing his leaking head against your clit and through your folds until you can’t stand it anymore.
“Five!” you cry, your face pushed against the floor.
“Let me hear you, darling. Tell me what you want.”
“Fuck me! Please!”
Five doesn’t hesitate for a second, slipping inside of you, pushing all of the way in until his hips are flush with your ass. He grips your waist tightly, holding you there while you squirm against him.
“Fuuuck…” he groans. “You know exactly how Daddy likes it.”
After a strong slap to your ass, Five starts fucking you hard and deep, driving into you with enough force that your body is propelled forward and you know you’re going to have rug burn on your arms and knees. But it doesn’t matter, because everything he is doing is exactly right. Each time he pounds into you, and you feel his thick cock filling you up, you cry out from how good it feels. Your pussy is soaking wet and throbbing with each thrust and you’re not sure how much more you can take.
He's breathing loud and hard behind you, a loud grunt accompanying each snap of his hips, hands firmly clutching your body; holding you steady while he pumps inside of you.
“Oh shit, you’re such a good girl for me, sweetheart. I want to feel you come on my cock,” he rasps.
With one expert move of his hand around the front of you, his fingers finding your clit and pressing into it hard, you yell out.
“Oh, god, Five! Yesss….oh fffuckk…I…I…oh shh…”
Your orgasm hits you hard and your fingers claw into the carpet beneath you, your knuckles white, and your body spasming uncontrollably against his. You continue moaning his name while he pounds into you a few more times before swearing loudly and exploding inside of you. You both stay like that, the muscles in your bodies tight and locked into position as your cries and whines soften and then subside. Soon, there is nothing but the ragged sound of your heavy breathing, and you feel him start to soften and pull out.
You both collapse onto the floor on your backs, chests heaving and shiny with sweat. When you look over at Five, you smile and then start laughing breathily.
“What’s so funny?” he smirks, turning his head to the side to look at you while he reaches down to pull up his pants.
You begin to pull up your own as you grin back at him. “You. If I had known all I needed to do to get your attention was stick my ass in your face, I would have done that weeks ago.”
Five chuckles and moves over next to you, propping his head up with one hand. He pushes a damp piece of hair off your face. “It definitely doesn’t hurt for you to do that, and I will always pay attention when that luscious ass is in my face. But I should have listened to you before. I’m sorry if you’ve felt ignored.”
“I just like spending time with you. I don’t mind you going off and doing whatever it is you do in there, but maybe sometimes include me too? You don’t have to shut me out of everything.”
He nods. “You’re right. And like I said, I promise I will stop from here on out.”
He leans down and kisses you while you run a hand through his soft hair. “I’m not sure why or how I love you as much as I do,” you sigh.
“Me either. But, god, am I glad you do.”
You never thought two simple, little lines would ever change your life so drastically. And yet, here you were, stood in your bathroom, looking down at the two digital lines that had effectively changed everything for you within five minutes.
You weren’t sure how long you had been stood there. You had been sat on the floor for the five minutes it took the test results to appear, but once the alarm you set on your phone had gone off, you stood. And now you continued to stand, still staring at the test. Had it been minutes? Hours? Days? Who knew. All you knew was that there was a life growing inside of you, and you had no idea how Diego was about to take the news.
Maybe it was something that should’ve been discussed in the early days of your relationship, but the idea of kids had never been brought up between the two of you. You knew that you wanted them, but not so badly that it would be a dealbreaker if Diego didn’t. He hadn’t brought up the idea before, and you didn’t think to bring it up, either. So, the topic just went undiscussed for a very long time.
Until now, when it was definitely too late to make the decision considering you already had a bun in the oven.
You wanted to desperately to be happy. Deep down, you felt kind of excited. The only thing dampening your mood was the dozens of outcomes running through your head of having to tell Diego that you were pregnant. You wanted to try and hope for the best, but your mind kept thinking of all the possible bad endings this could have.
When you heard the front door open and shut, you flinched. It was now or never, although you really wished it could be never.
Diego was walking up to you with wide smile as you exited the bathroom. He picked you up in his arms, causing you to exclaim as he lifted you off the ground. You couldn’t help but smile, hoping that this reaction would stay once you gave him the news.
“Hey baby,” he said. “How was your day?”
“It was...alright,” you responded. “Listen, I have to tell you something.”
He placed you down on the floor, still smiling a little but also a concerned look behind his eyes. “Uh-oh. That’s doesn’t sound good.”
“Depends on how you take the news.”
You passed him the pregnancy test. He took it and looked down at it. For a moment, there was no reaction. The suspense was killing you. And then, realization crossed his face.
“Wait,” he said. “Is this...?”
You nodded.
“How long...?” He trailed off.
“How long have I known? Or how far along am I?” you asked. When he didn’t respond, you decided to answer both questions, “I only just found out, but I’ve had a suspicion for a while. My period was late and it’s never been late before, and I’ve been experiencing some other signs of pregnancy. I don’t know how far along I am. I would have to make a doctor’s appointment to find out.”
He was still silent. He kept looking down at the pregnancy test in his hands. You wished he would give you some sort of reaction. Literally anything. Even if it was anger, you would’ve taken it over the silence. It was eating away at you, making you feel even more uneasy by the second.
Finally, he passed you back the pregnancy test and turned away. He started to walk away from you, and you quickly kept up the pace with him to follow. “Where are you going?”
“I just...I need to go out for a minute.”
“You just got home.”
“I need to go out again.”
“Diego, please.” You reached out to grab hold of him. He stopped walking for a moment, but didn’t look back at you. “Can you at least...tell me how you feel? Tell me what this means for us if I...if I want to keep it?”
But he still didn’t respond. He pulled away and started for the front door again. He didn’t even slam the door to give you any sort of clue as to whether or not he was upset. He just walked off, got into his car, and then drove away.
You watched him go before sitting back on the floor. You pulled your knees up to your chest and began to cry.
~~~~~~
You managed to pull yourself together long enough to make a doctor’s appointment for a few day’s time. You texted Diego to let him know and to tell him that if he wanted to go with you that you would greatly prefer that. When he didn’t respond you weren’t shocked, but it truly broke your heart even more.
You didn’t think this would be a dealbreaker for Diego. You didn’t think he’d get so upset that he would just up and leave. The two of you had been together for many years. You had a bond that seemed to unbreakable, to a point where even his siblings noticed how much happier he had been since meeting you. You remembered the first time you ever met the Hargreeves family, where Luther pulled you aside before you left and thanked you for “making Diego, Diego again”.
And now he was gone. No calls, no texts, no indications on whether or not this relationship was going to continue. All because you told him that you were pregnant.
Your upset was starting to melt into anger.
If he wanted to react this way, then fine, he could react this way. But he wouldn’t have you anymore if that was the case. You’d raise this baby all on your own if you had to. You didn’t need Diego.
You were in the process of calling your mom to ask her to come with you to the appointment when you heard the front door open and close. You hung up before your mom answered and slowly rose from your spot on the bed. You knew who it likely was and you weren’t sure if that made you more or less tense.
Diego appeared in the doorway just as you were about to step out. You were inches away from one another. He was looking at you in a way you once again weren’t able to read. Your anger was still fresh, so you stepped back and crossed your arms.
“Welcome home,” you said, coolly. “I wasn’t sure if you’d even come back.”
He winced at your words. “Of course I was going to come back.”
“I don’t know, you left pretty quickly after I gave you the news. When that happens, it usually means that person isn’t coming back.”
The hurt look on his face didn’t go unnoticed. You felt a little bit of pride knowing he was feeling remorse for what he did.
“I just...needed to think,” he said.
You raised an eyebrow, encouraging him to go on. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Look, come sit. I can explain everything.”
He reached out for you, but you took a step away. You turned your back to him and walked back to the bed. You both sat on the edge, leaving a bigger space between the two of you than you wanted. You couldn’t be close to him without caving, you knew that. Now that he was back, your hormones were running wild (could you even blame the pregnancy hormones yet?”, but you had to stay strong. You couldn’t cave just yet.
He was silent for a moment. You were about to open your mouth to tell him to get on with it, but he cut you off by saying, “I was scared.”
“Scared?” you questioned. “Of what? Of...of the pregnancy?”
“Of being like my dad.”
You felt your angry tension leaving your body. You moved a few inches closer to Diego, your brows furrowing together. “What do you mean?”
“I’ve told you about my dad. How he was never actually...well, a dad. He treated me and my siblings like shit. We were weapons to him. We weren’t kids to him. He fucked us all up big time.”
“I know all of this, but what does it have to do with you walking out on me after I told you I was pregnant?”
“I only had two parental figured growing up: my robot mom and my asshole father. When you told me you were pregnant, I was happy. But that happiness was overshadowed by this fear that, since Hargreeves is the only parenting style I know, that I’ll...I’ll be just as bad as him.”
You closed the gap between the two of you completely. You took his hand in yours. Now he was the one having issues making eye contact with you. You could see the moisture forming in his eyes, something he only ever let you see, and even then it was rare.
“You’re not going to be like your dad,” you assured him. “For one, I’m not popping out seven kids at one time for you to try and train as a superhero team.”
A small smile appeared on his face, which you took as a win.
“But, to me, the fact that you’re so worried about ending up like your dad means that you won’t. You’re aware of your dad’s behavior and how its effected you and your siblings, and you know you don’t want to continue that cycle with our baby.”
His eyes darted towards your stomach for a split second. You took the hand you were holding and flattened his palm against your stomach. There was no sign of a bump yet, you knew you were too early in the pregnancy for that, but you couldn’t help but already picture the baby that was growing in there.
“But what if I fuck their life up?” Diego asked, his voice soft.
“You won’t,” you assured him. “I know you won’t. You’re going to be a great father, and this baby is going to be lucky to have you as their father.”
A tear ran down his cheek. He was quick to wipe it away, but his eyes were watering quicker than he could wipe them. Diego pulled you into a tight hug. You rested your head against his chest and took in his familiar smell and warmth. You were glad to have gotten past the issue, even if you wished he had said something before he left you in your uncertainty for so long.
You exclaimed in shock as Diego pulled you both down to lay flat on the bed. He let go of the hug to sit over you. His hands pulled up your shirt just enough to expose your belly. You giggled as he pressed a kiss against your soft skin, the stubble of his beard tickling your sensitive skin.
“I don’t care what you are, or if you come out with powers or not,” he said to your stomach. “I already love you so much, and I’m going to do everything in my power to make sure you and your mom are safe and happy for the rest of my life.”
You felt tears starting to well up in your eyes as you ran a hand through Diego’s hair. He looked up at you and you felt like he had taken the breath from your lungs with just one look. You smiled at him and he smiled back before he raised himself up to become level with you again. When he kissed you, it was gentle and full of love and passion.
“I want to come to that appointment,” he told you between the kisses he pressed against your cheek, your jaw, your neck. “The one you texted me about. I want to know that our baby is healthy in there.”
“I want nothing more than for you to come with me,” you responded, a soft whimper escaping your lips as his lips found your sweet spot. “And I’m glad you want to come with me.”
In response, he pulled your shirt the rest of the way off and you both helped each other to take the rest of your clothes off and discard them onto the floor, both them and the earlier issue long forgotten.
~~~~~~
You could tell Diego was nervous the day of the appointment. He had tossed and turned so much the night before that he had woken you a few times (not that you were going to tell him that as you knew he’d feel bad if you did), he refused breakfast because he said he wasn’t hungry enough to eat, and he seemed very unfocused as you both got ready and drove to the doctor’s office. You offered to drive since you weren’t sure if you could trust him behind the wheel in this state.
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t nervous as well. You were afraid of what the outcomes to this appointment might be; of the doctor telling you that you had a false positive pregnancy test and weren’t actually pregnant; that there was something wrong with the baby; hell, even just the idea of the doctor confirming the pregnancy made you nervous. As excited as you were to be having this baby with Diego, you were also nervous for what pregnancy really entailed. You and Diego had agreed to wait before telling his family, but you were dying to talk to Allison about it since she was the only woman in your life - besides your own mother, of course - to have gone through a pregnancy.
You arrived at the doctor’s office and were brought in almost immediately. The doctor did some standard tests just to check your health and confirmed to you and Diego that you were as healthy as a horse.
“You’ll be just fine to go through this pregnancy,” he told the both of you. “But, of course, we’ll want to do annual check ups just to be sure you and the baby are doing alright.”
You nodded, although you weren’t completely absorbing his words. You were waiting for him to get to the part of the appointment that you and Diego had actually been waiting for: the ultrasound. The test that would truly confirm for the two of you whether or not you were pregnant.
The doctor helped you up onto the bed in his office and had you pull up your shirt just enough that he could see your belly. You suppressed a yelp as he put a cold, jelly like substance on your stomach and started up the ultrasound machine. The machine’s humming noise filled the room as the doctor placed the wand against your stomach and started moving it around. At first, you couldn’t see anything and you felt your heart drop. You were convinced that your worst nightmare was being confirmed - there was no baby in there.
But then the doctor said, “Ah, there you are.”
He pointed to his screen where a grey blob, no bigger than the shape of a peanut, was on display.
“It may not look like it just yet,” the doctor said, “but there’s your baby right there.”
“Whoa,” you breathed, unable to believe it.
“Holy shit,” Diego said. “That little bean turns into a baby?”
The doctor chuckled. “I know, it’s hard to believe. The fetus usually doesn’t actually develop to look like a baby until the later stages of the second trimester into the third trimester. Most people can’t even see the little blob of the fetus in their first ultrasounds like this and start to believe there’s no fetus in there.”
You tried not to let it show on your face that you were one of those people.
Diego took your hand in his. You looked up at him and saw his eyes were fixated intently on the screen. You could see they were starting to gloss over with tears again, but you knew Diego wasn’t about to try in front of a stranger like this.
You squeezed his hand and he finally looked down at you. You couldn’t help but smile at him, and he smiled back.
“That’s our baby,” he said, looking back to the screen. “I can’t believe it, but...that’s our little bean.”
“It is,” you said, feeling yourself becoming overwhelmed with emotions again. “What do you think?”
“I think I’m going to protect that little bean till the ends of the Earth.”
You let out a sound that was half laugh, half sob. Diego brushed his lips against your knuckles before leaning down to kiss your lips.
In that moment, you swore nothing could make you happier. But you knew that, within the next nine months, you’d be having another happy moment that would definitely trump this one.
