Hi. I'm back. After like a month or two. Maybe more of not updating, I'm back. I've basically been doing things on Wattpad and Ao3, but I've never took the time to go on here unless I needed to take in my daily dose of Jack content. For once that I didn't update... that's my bad LOL-
Okay. I’m doing a JTR oneshot on here- I discussed something with my best friend over on Discord- And I want to try it on here just to give a sample-
So I present to you... Metal Bat, the Yandere JTR Jikenbo x GN Reader I actually want to update lol-
This is basically a Goro Majima Reader x Yandere JTR Jikenbo characters. But be aware that Reader is already in a relationship. With Jack. And he will not let them go HH-
Characters like Kiryu and Jack do not belong to me, nor does the concept of Majima belong to me.
Now that we're done with that... let's get this going.
Warnings: Some violence, Gender Neutral Reader, Reader being addressed as Sir because "Mx" sounds too weird in a non-disrespectful way, Reader being crazy because they're basically Majima-

"Wh-Who are you?" A male mumbled to a black haired man who carried a suitcase of money.
"I saw that shit, Kiryu-chan!" Another person's voice spoke. The pair looked towards it, seeing someone carrying an umbrella over their shoulder with a grin. They had an eyepatch over their right eye, as well as a suit over their figure. "M-Mx-?! Kiryu-?! You mean..." The first man mumbled. "Yep! The Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu-chan!" The black haired man silently bowed his head. "It's been a while, Sir (Y/n)." Kiryu spoke as the person in front of him chuckled, the two men behind them following after with soft glares over their faces. "Put a lid on the formal shit. Heard you were gonna head up yer own family soon." They spoke while walking around Kiryu to the man on the floor. "By the way... this bar over here." (Y/n) looked up at a building. "That's where your sweetheart works, right? And I hear she's real easy on the eyes. Everyone's sayin so." (Y/n) continued to walk around Kiryu's figure. "They all just want in on the action!" He stayed silent with his same expression as he saw the person lean in. They then looked back at the man on the floor. "Anyways, whaddya wanna do with this fool?" He jolted. "I'm sorry! I didn't know it was you, Sir Kiryu!" He shook his head. "No, it's fine." The male spoke. "Too soft, Kiryu-chan! Soft as a marshmallow! You gotta make things right! Like this!"
(Y/n) whacked their umbrella into the man's face.
"I ain't even done!"
They continued to smack their umbrella down on the unfortunate man's face again and again.
(Y/n) then turned the umbrella around, aiming to stab the man right in the face.
Well, that was until their wrist was suddenly grabbed, stopping the man from his own possible death.
"The hell?" (Y/n) glared at Kiryu. "He's had enough." The male replied. "But I was only doin' it for you." The person tilted their head with barely saddened eyes. "And I say it's enough, so-" Kiryu was cut off. "Oh...? Well, fine then." (Y/n) nodded. "But when ya get your own men, you're gonna have to lay down the law. Let's roll." The person turned as their men did the same. "Yeah. I'll keep that in mind." Kiryu replied. "But..." This made (Y/n) stop. "Huh?" They looked back at Kiryu. "But what?" They questioned. "I'm going to do things my own way." Kiryu answered. (Y/n)'s eyebrows seemed to furrow as they walked towards the male. "And what way is that?" They questioned. "It'll be the right way." Kiryu answered. "The hell? You tryna start shit?!" (Y/n) leaned closer to him, their remaining eye glaring into his face. "I'll fight ya right here, right now!" They spoke. "No." Kiryu firmly answered as he stood his ground. "I've got no reason to fight you." He spoke. "There's no point." He added.
(Y/n) immediately slapped the male across the face.
"How 'bout now?" They questioned with a grin. "That enough reason to fight?" The person asked again. "... If I've made you angry, Sir (Y/n), I apologize." This response only seemed to irritate the person even further. "What was that?" They questioned.
(Y/n) then whacked Kiryu across the face with their umbrella.
"C'mon! Show me you've got some balls and fight back!"
He received another hit to the face, making blood trickle down the side of his head.
"And with that... Are we done here?" Kiryu questioned. "Huh?!" (Y/n)'s eyebrows furrowed yet again as they tossed their umbrella off to the side. They then took out their Demonfire dagger, pointing it up to Kiryu's face. He stood entirely firm without any sense of hesitance. "You talk tough... But I wonder how long that'll last." (Y/n) spoke.
(Y/n) pulled their knife back before stabbing it at Kiryu's face.
Yet, he stayed entirely still, his figure still entirely still.
Just like a statue.
As (Y/n) expected...
"... Whatever." They sighed as they tilted their head. "No point? You're just makin' things harder on yourself. Deprivin' yourself for no reason." (Y/n) slightly leaned towards Kiryu while sheathing their dagger. They then placed a hand over his shoulder. "You think the world gives two shits about if there's a point or two? Keep that up, and it'll break ya."
(Y/n)'s eyes somewhat reflected of sadness.
"You can see it however you want. But... Nothing you can say is going to change my mind." Kiryu answered. "... No matter what happens?" (Y/n) tilted their head again. "... Right." Kiryu nodded. The person took a few steps back with their arms crossed in thought. But in a simple minute, they grinned while looking at him with clear mischievous intent. "You got it then! I'm gonna see those ideals of yours to the end! I'll have my remaining eye on ya 24/7!" Kiryu could feel his brows somewhat furrow with confusion. "What?" He questioned. "And then, when there's a point... Are ya gonna be willing to fight me?" (Y/n) leaned forward with anticipation. "... I won't know till the time comes." Kiryu answered. "Hell yeah!!"
The person clapped their hands before punching their fist into the air. "Then all I need to do is come up with a plan to make ya fight me! Let's bounce, guys!!" They turned to their men with a laugh as they bowed their heads. (Y/n) walked past them before stopping, looking back at Kiryu. "See ya soon, Kiryu-chan! Looking forward to some fun!" He only stared with narrowed eyes as (Y/n) continued to walk out of the alley. "Man, this is gonna be sweet!" They jumped into the air before clapping one side of their foot with the other.
- Later on -
It was now night time within London, with (Y/n) silently walking down the dark streets. Rain showered down on the surfaces of the ground and the roofs as the person continued to make their way down the soaked streets. They could both hear and feel the pattering of the rain on their figure. It felt... odd. Weird. It didn't feel right. The person then continued to walk forward as they heard men ushering prostitutes towards them. Some had played along as others immediately walked away. (Y/n) then made their way towards a certain house. As they walked towards the window, they saw a silver haired man cooking something. A post it note was beside him on the counter.
(The man kept that. -(Y/n))
They softly chuckled before tapping on the window. The man looked back, only to stop once he saw them grin faintly. He only smiled in reply while walking over, opening the window. "You could have used the front door, Dearest." He spoke. "So? It was easier gettin' your attention like this, Jacky." (Y/n) crept in through the window before shutting it behind them. "You're drenched!" The silver haired man spoke with worry. "Eh? This? Nah, don't worry about that." (Y/n) smiled. "You'll get sick! You brung an umbrella. Where is it?" Jack questioned. (Y/n) stopped. "Ah... Wanna leave that for later, Prince?" They answered with a question. "That's the fifth one you've lost, (Y/n)." The man sighed. "Ah, come on, Prince." They walked over to him. "I was talking to Kiryu." Jack looked towards (Y/n). "Do you mean whacking him?" He questioned. "You know me so well." They smiled as well before they looked back at the food. "Watcha cookin', Prince?" They questioned. "I planned on serving this to you when it was actually ready. However, you got home a little earlier than I thought." Jack smiled faintly. "Oops?" (Y/n) arched an eyebrow. "The only thing you need to say that for is being drenched and getting the floor dirty." They looked down at the ground. "... Oops." Jack gently pushed them out of the kitchen. "Go take a shower." He spoke. "Fine, fine." (Y/n) took off their shoes before heading up the stairs.
Whilst they had done so, Jack had continued to cook.
It didn't take long until (Y/n) had came back down with more casual wear. "My Dear... Why do you wish to wear that?" Jack questioned. He turned off the stove before gently adjusting (Y/n)'s snakeskin blazer. "Is it not comfortable?" They smirked faintly. "... You know... You don't need to be like this with me." Jack gently placed one of his hands by their face, seeing their smirk slightly drop. "... You know fully well I can see through you like a mirror. What's wrong, Dear?" He questioned.
(Y/n)'s amused expression, as well as the rest of their smirk seemed to drop when they leaned into his figure with a tired sigh. "... Difficult day?" Jack questioned as he gently hugged them close. They silently nodded as the male brushed his hand through their damp hair. He then gently pulled away. "Why don't you tell me about it by the table?" Jack smiled faintly. "Alright, Prince." (Y/n) faintly nodded with a soft smile.

——————————————————————————
“PRICK”
You smirked laughing at Jason’s remark to the absolute freak who was stood on the table across the cafeteria. Wavy brown hair, stood there with his fingers beside his head imitating the devil. Eddie fucking Munson. You hated him, with every ounce of your being, couldn’t stand the sight of the freak. What 19 year old plays Dungeons and Dragons AND if you had to hear Ozzy fucking Osbourne blast from his shitty clapped out van again you swear you’d combust in a rage and those stupid rings he wore, those stupid fucking oversized ridiculous rings.
“Y/n, COME ON!!” You snapped out of your scowling gaze at the metal head freak who had by now absolutely scared to death a fellow class mate and resumed his seat at the table. “Y/n, will you hurry up please? Chrissy has practise and you’ll be late for class” you gathered your things and followed Jason and Chrissy.
Chrissy was your best friend, you did absolutely everything together but she’d started spending more time with Jason recently but that was ok as the three of you did everything together, it wasn’t weird though being a third wheel. You loved Jason to bits and he was your hero, you looked upto him a hell of a lot. This only bought you closer together and your bond was unbreakable.
Seeing as he is your brother, after all.
“NO FUCK RIGHT OFF, I’M NOT DOING IT, NO WAY”
“Y/N. you HAVE too. I can’t afford to be thrown off the basketball team, and Chrissy? Chrissy is smashing all classes and can’t be dropped off cheerleading”
“Jason.. please, he gives me the creeps! I can’t, I won’t. I hate him, he makes me wanna vom.”
“Look, please? Y/n for your bro? I promised the guys for the party you don’t wanna let them down do you?!”
You’d do anything, anything at all for your brother but this? This was gonna push you. You hated the idea of even being in the same school as Eddie fucking Munson, the freak, But going to get drugs from him for a party? It was a big ask, but you couldn’t let your brother down. You wouldn’t.
The cool autumn breeze moved some yellow tinged leaves along the floor of the woods where Jason told you to specifically be at 2:30pm. You left early, an hour before you had to be there, just to prepare yourself for meeting this freak.
“1:45pm, Hm. 45 minutes till IT turns up.” You mumbled under your breath. You looked around to make certain there was nobody nearby, you slipped your headphones on to your ears and hit play.
“RIDIN’ DOWN THE HIGHWAY
GOIN’ TO A SHOW
STOP IN ALL THE BYWAYS
PLAYIN’ ROCK N ROLL..”
The music blasted through your headphones, your foot tapping and head bopping. You closed your eyes and listened. You HATED the fact you absolutely loved this music because it was what he liked. That freak. It made you feel sick but you loved it and it was SO good. The music took over you, you led down on the bench, tapping your feet still, doing a little air guitar here and there while your eyes are scrunched shut.
Unbeknownst to you, leaves are crunching under white reeboks. Eddie was early, he just wanted his pre sale joint in peace but no such luck.
“Hey? Hello…?”
You didn’t respond, your music turned up full whack, you were too wrapped up in now Ozzy, which you claimed you hated but in fact absolutely loved! Eddie walked over towards you and could hear the faint beat, with a confused look on his face he bent down beside you and stretched his neck over to hear.
“I KNOW THAT THINGS ARE GOING WRONG FOR ME, YOU GOTTA LISTEN TO MY WORDS, YEAHHHH”
“Well shit.. Ozzy” Eddie muttered with a smirk appearing on his face, you blasted another little air guitar, eyes still closed not knowing what was going on. You sniffed up
“what IS that, what is that smell?!?”
Your eyes shot open and you scrambled to your feet.
“MUNSON. I.. wha..” did he hear it? He must have done, he was pretty fucking close. Eddie stood there, smirk on his stupid face and a joint to his lips.
“Ozzy eh?” He grinned.
“Why are you even here so early? Half 2 it was said.”
“Hey man, I could ask the same” he said raising his hands. “I shouted but Ozzy was priority.” A slight chuckle left his lips.
Just looking at him made your blood boil, his stupid laugh and stupid hair around his face. It made you sick. You slammed your purse on the table.
“Are we doing this or what? I don’t want to be here a moment longer with you.” Your eyebrows furrowed into a scowl.
“You think you’re better than me huh?” Eddie mocked, placing his metal lunchbox down on the bench.
“I don’t think I am, I KNOW I am.”
“The only reason they keep you around Carver, is because you’re a loser. Like me. You have nothing to lose.” Eddie taunted as he was now stood face to face with you. “They use you.”
You could feel your throat beginning to get scratchy, he’d hit a nerve. Your blood boiled and your whole being exploded.
“THEY DO NOT USE ME, I CAME HERE OFF MY OWN BACK TO DO A FUCKING DEAL WITH THE SCHOOL, NO THE TOWNS FREAK. YOU ARE NOTHING, YOU PLAY D&D WITH CHILDREN BECAUSE NOT ONE PERSON LIKES YOU, YOU LISTEN TO FUCKING METAL. IF ANYONE IS A LOSER EDDIE, ITS YOU.”
Your face was burning, the rage Inside you was too much to bare. Eddie nods in response to your outburst and leans in close to you, cm away from your face.
“Sorry what music do you listen to in secret? It takes one to know one, You’re a freak.” He smirked, massively.
“FUCK OFF, I AM ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE YOU, NOTHING. YOU WALK AROUND NOT GIVING A SHIT WHEN REALLY YOU SHOULD BECA-.”
Your words cut short, you froze still. What the fuck is happening.
*smack*
Eddie held his cheek and you pushed him back.
“WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?! WH- I-“
you were in utter disbelief. Eddie planted his lips on yours, just out the blue, you didn’t know how to feel. Weirdly you didn’t feel sick or freaked out, you glared at him. Eddie was still holding his cheek, it was a fair smack you gave him.
“That shut you up, didn’t it Carver? I tell you what, you can fucking talk for the whole of Hawkins” he raised his hands, dramatically waving them around showing his pink burning cheek.
“I- you- I-“ you stumbled over your words, a low burning feeling in your stomach. It felt good, you didn’t want to admit it, man his lips were soft. You looked at his cheek and back at him. Eddie was still rambling on, you looked at him and I mean really looked. He had the softest eyes, you’d never noticed before.
“Carver, i really shut you up huh?” He smirked. “Fuck me man, you can talk. I thought we were here to do a deal? I mean like, im sorry but Jesus h chr-.”
You cut him off. Your hand twisted in the top of his T-shirt and lips on his. You wanted to make certain that it did feel good and you weren’t just longing for touch, any kind of touch, from anybody. But no, it did. It felt good, better than even. You liked it, his lips on yours, it was new, you still hated him but by god it was electric. Eddie really leant into the kiss, he was stood over you and as he put his hand on your waist you pushed him backwards letting out a breath.
“Where’s the stuff?” Breathing heavy, you looked at Eddie who had the most confusing look on his face, he signalled over to his metal box. You took it upon yourself to walk over and open it taking 2 small bags.
“These?” You called over while Eddie just stared at you. “Is it these 2 fucking bags or not?!” Slightly irritated in his no response, he managed to give you a slight nod this time, you grabbed your purse from next to the box and threw the cash into it and just walked off and kept walking, replaying over and over what had just happened. Was that real? Did that just happen?
. . .
“COLOUR ME YOUR COLOUR, BABY
COLOUR ME YOUR CAR.
COLOUR ME YOUR COLOUR, DARLING
I KNOW WHO YOU ARE”
Music was pumping throughout the house and garden, everyone was having such a good time. “CALL ME, ON THE LINE. CALL ME CALL ME ANYTIME” you and Chrissy jumped facing towards each other singing the song and laughing so loud. Jason was playing beer pong with his fellow basketball players and they’d already delved into the 2 small bags you’d got off Eddie for them. Eddie. Eddie fucking Munson. He’d been on your mind since what happened yesterday. You’d not seen him since but seeing as it was a Saturday and you’re not in school, why would your paths ever cross?
“Man, that was the BEST EVER CAMPAIGN. Eddie sure knows how to catch us off guard.”
You spun round on your heel at the mention of his name. What? Surely he’s not here? He wasn’t invited, he’d never be invited. But to your secret anguish, he wasn’t there. Dustin, Steve and Lucas. Of course, Lucas invited his friends. Steve was invited anyway, he was so cool and you’d always liked him, Jason didn’t care dustin was here, he wasn’t like the freak.
. . .
Outside was much cooler than the sweaty mess and wave of bodies that were crammed inside. You stumbled your way to the very back of the garden and propped yourself up on the bench, head between legs. “Fuck.. I’m gon-.”
You retched and retched, throwing up everything you’d drank. Your hair gathered behind your head out of your pale face and a hand rubbed your back.
“Ugh.. Chrissy thankyou. I don’t know why I’m so bad”
“I mean I’d look FINEE as a girl but you did drink way too much”
Your head span round so fast your neck could have literally snapped. “Eddie..” you said with almost a whisper as you wiped the corner of your mouth.
“What? Ho-. WHY ARE YOU HERE!!”
“Ive been here like 2 hours maybe? Your brother and his friends pretty much ran out and LOW AND BEHOLD THE FREAK WAS SUMMONED” Eddie stretched his arms above his head and practically shouted across the garden but nobody paid him attention.
“Go home EDDIE, no ONE wants..” *hiccup* “..wants YOU here!!” You stood up wobbling and almost falling to the side but Eddie caught you.
“Woah, woahhh. Looks like someone needs bed huh? You’re waaaay too drunk Carver. The fuck have you had to make you this bad” Eddie put his arm round your waist and yours round his.
“MUNSON I swear if you don’t let go of me I will SCREAM SO F-FUCKING LOUD”
“Go for it baby, you’re going to bed.”
“PEOPLE WILL SE- SEE ME WITH A FREAK AND WHAT WILL THEY THINK?!”
Eddie threw you over his shoulder and carried you inside, not a single person turned their head to look as you glanced round, they were all too drunk to care. Jason was more or less dry humping Chrissy against the kitchen side, Dustin was well being Dustin, he was looking through the shelves and Steve was busy trying to flirt but with no avail. Your eyes heavy as Eddie carried you upstairs, he pushed your door open with his foot.
. . .
Led under your covers, your eyes closed. Tiredness took over and you fell into a deep sleep. Eddie point blank refused to leave, he was sat on the floor next to you making sure you didn’t throw up in your sleep, his hand on your forehead.
“Shit, you’re hard work Carver” he muttered under his breath as his eyes slowly closed. At this point you were both soundly asleep as Eddies hand slipped gently from your forehead onto your shoulder.
. . .
The sun peaked in through the gap in the drawn curtains, soft snores came from both you and Eddie who were still soundly sleeping. While sleeping your hand linked with his, fingers intertwined.
“Y/NNN.. will you GET UP!!!”
The call of your name from Jason didn’t wake you, nor Eddie and with a crash of your door opening Jason stood in the door way taking in what he could see before him, your hand linked with the freak, the freak that is Eddie Munson. Every part of Jason’s body boiled with anger.
“WELL WELL WELL. WHAT THE FUCK DO WE HAVE HERE THEN” your eyes opened slowly not knowing what was going on nor even having a clue your fingers linked with Eddies but before you could even process anything a hand was dragged from yours and you suddenly sat bolt upright seeing Eddie being pulled up by the scruff of his top by Jason.
“You wanna fuck around with MY sister freak? Huh? You wanna do things to her against her will? Wait till I tell everyone what you’ve done to her, you’re gonna fucking pay for this”
“Hey man, I d-did nothing, I was making sure she was okay! I- I didn’t.. I was just..”
And with that Eddie let out a loud grunt as Jason’s fist connected with Eddies stomach then his face, punch after punch. Eddies lip instantly burst, he was doubled over taking hit after hit. He looked at you, bleeding mouth, soft but scared eyes. You did nothing, nothing at all.
“Y/n.. please, t-tell him, it’s not li-like that”
“Shut the FUCK up, FREAK. She won’t help you, not after what you did to her, you were seen you know, carrying her upstairs against her will.”
You looked at Eddies face pulling your cover under your chin, you couldn’t do anything, you couldn’t speak. He needed your help, he needed you to tell the truth but you didn’t. You let him take beating after beating. Jason dragged him out your room and down the stairs and finally throwing him out the front door. Eddie led there, helpless.
“If I ever see your face again, FREAK. Just know you won’t like what happens.” And with a swift few kicks to Eddies ribs, Jason slammed the door.

breath of fresh air series
warnings: more twd violence than usual
summary: After 3 months of basically pining over each other and spending time being together, Daryl's gotta make a decision now that his brother is back.
Tumblr media
After managing to get away from neighborhood where you both almost had encounter with some old "friends" you and Daryl were currently chilling in an abandoned cabin. “Sooo, are we going to look for some more pea cans any time soon?,” you suggested, trying to break the awkward tension in the room. Daryl sighed and looked over at you, “You plannin on telling me how you know them? Maybe then we can figure out what we’re doin here,” he tells you and crosses his arms, while he waits patiently for you to talk to him.
You sighed and ran a hand through your hair before starting to make a very long story, short, “I had met them a few days before I met you. They took my stuff, beat me up, tried to kill me. When I got away, I tracked them down and went to look for my stuff. Winter was hard enough keeping supplies, so I really needed the shit they took. But, I had to kill 2 of their guys, beat up another. After I got away I bumped into a herd, and then I bumped into you.” You let out a deep breath when you saw that he nodded, feeling relieved that he believed you, “I didn’t think that they’d still be after me… I mean I just thought that they might've believed I didn't survive the herd," you pause when the realization hits you, “Oh shit, if they were after me, then they could’ve found the prison- I put you all at risk- i- in danger.”
As you feel your panic start to rise, you immediately felt his hands on you while they were holding onto your arms, rubbing his thumbs softly back and forth. He did this small action whenever you were starting to get nervous over anything, “hey, relax, if they showed up lookin for you, there’s no way in hell I’d let somethin happen to you. Got it? Everyone back home would fight for you too, you’re one of us. So just calm down alright?” He says softly, all while not breaking eye contact with you and even brushing some of your hair out of your face. The action making you blush and clear your throat, “right, yeah, yeah. Sorry,” you mumble and avoid looking at him.
He saw you trying to hide the redness displayed all over your face, “you cold? You’re all red, I can start a fire for ya if you want?” he asks while not being able to hide the smirk on his face. Your eyes are wide when you look up at him and realize that he’s teasing you. “Oh shut up, Dixon,” you say gently whacking him and rolling your eyes, “Next time I catch you staring at me, don't get all shy on me when I embarrass you.” You tell him and start walking into the kitchen in the cabin, “Pfft, I don't stare at ya,” he gruffly comments and starts scavenging around too. “Uh-huh, sureee!” you tell him and laugh.
He scoffs at you and hears something fall in the kitchen, he furrows his eyebrows and makes his way into the kitchen. Right before he is about to ask if you are okay, he looks up and he quickly raises his crossbow, aiming it directly at the man who is conveniently holding a knife to your neck. “You let ‘er go now!” he yells and you notice the panic settling in his eyes, as he tries to aim at the man’s head but the guy is trying to keep you from squirming, Daryl knows that he won't get a clean shot like this and he won’t risk the chance of hitting you instead.
“Nah man no can do! Ya see my guys are gonna be real happy I found her, she's gonna pay for killing Kenny and Al*. They'll be even more pleased especially after we just hit the jackpot on that Asian kid and his pretty girlfriend.” He boasts and smirks, pressing the knife a little harder against your throat. That's when your eyes widen at the detailed description, so you quickly step on the man's foot and quickly elbow him in the face as you move out of the way so that Daryl could put an arrow in him.
“Was he- was he just talking about Glenn and Maggie?” you ask as you try to catch your breath and wipe the blood starting to fall from your neck. Daryl immediately walks over to you and gently tilts your face to the side so he can see the cut, “you’re bleedin,” he mumbles and grabs his red rag to hold against your neck gently. You can tell that he looks worried, so you tell him that you're fine and it's just a little cut. He presses his lips together in a fine line and walks over to the dead guy’s body so he can take his arrow out from his head and also take the man’s knife and gun.
“Maggie and Glenn should be at the prison, they’re goin for that baby run tomorrow, can't be them.” He tells you and you just look over at him worriedly, “Daryl, what if we’re wrong? What if something happened and they had to go?” you tell him as your voice shakes, “Y/N, let’s just head back, if they ain’t there then we tell Rick and everyone else. And we’ll figure this shit out together alright?”
So that’s what you guys do, well you tell everyone after Daryl had found Carol and Rick started talking to Michonne. Everything was happening so fast, the days were blending into one another and it all felt like a blur. All of the fighting to get Maggie and Glenn back, then more fighting to get Daryl back which Rick made you stay behind with Glenn and Michonne since he needed you to keep them safe and he needed you to keep a clear head.
So there you were anxiously waiting for them to get back, eager to see Daryl again. That's when you hear and see Glenn jump up, calling out for Rick. You follow after him and Michonne, but are quickly shocked at the commotion starting to unravel in front of you. Glenn and Michonne are aiming their weapons at Merle, everyone's yelling while Rick and Daryl try to calm them down, and you stay back holding your gun to your side. You and Maggie exchanging nervous glances while everyone tries to settle down.
Of course, Merle had to open his big mouth and make a comment towards you, right after talking about Michonne and Andrea’s time together during the winter and talking shit to Rick, “Whooo, hooo! I mean, wow, Officer Friendly, you really do got a gang of thieves, crooks, and cowards. I've been lookin everywhere for you! How you doin baby? You miss me?” He says this to you and he even blows you a kiss. Earning your response and the raise of your gun, "Oh shut up you prick! You got what you deserved, you and your friends!" You yell at him and scoff when Daryl warns his brother to leave you alone. You lower your gun when Rick puts his hand out for you to relax and you do. Merle being Merle doesn't obviously shut up so he eventually gets knocked out by Rick's gun.
While Merle’s passed out momentarily, everyone else starts to talk about what to do with him, so you lean against the car with your arms crossed and stay quiet. That's when Daryl comes over, “I'm goin with him,” he tells you quietly and chews on his lip, waiting for your reaction, “What?” you ask and stand up straight looking at him, “He’s blood, I ain’t leavin him again, I can’t. You gotta understand.”
You stay quiet as you look at him. A part of you wants to be mad at him and tell him all the reasons why he shouldn't, you want to be selfish but you can't. So you just say, "You really don't have to do this," pausing to rest your hand on the side of his face and give him a weak smile, "But if it's what you want to do then go ahead, but you gotta know that you have family here too, even if we ain’t blood. Just… if something happens, you come home. Promise me that.” He just nods and gently squeezes your hand before letting go of it and he walks away to get his things from the trunk. As you glare at Merle, you end up just watching them both leave.
The ride back to prison is silent, you stare outside the window and try to calm down about Daryl’s well-being with his shitty ass brother. Once you arrive, you’re first to start heading inside. You’re upset obviously but as you get closer toward the cell block doors you feel your body getting heavy all of a sudden. You look down at your shirt and see a huge splotch of blood on the side of your body, "god damn it," you say and it get the attention of the group. While you are starting to feel the adrenaline from before slip away, your eyes close and sooner or later your body is eventually smacking against the pavement. Your world going dark once again.
Let's check up on Daryl hm?
Well, he felt shitty to say the least. Shitty to be back on the road (in his case the woods), shitty to leave people he cared about behind, to leave you behind. Merle wasn't helping either, insisting on making everything some kind of competition, not respecting him, not listening to him. He hated it. Daryl’s thoughts about you were invading his mind. He thought about those few seconds you held onto his face, he wondered if maybe there was something else you had to say. Daryl was mostly spacing out in a lot of Merle's rambling, that is until he heard Merle start talking about you.
“That smokin hot piece of ass back there, she is really a piece of work man, I mean if she hadn’t killed my guys, you know I was really looking forward to-"
"Bro, don’t you ever talk about her,” Daryl basically growled and got in his brothers face, “you’re the dipshit who went after her, you got what you deserved. Now I don’t wanna hear anything about her come outta your mouth, again,” he told him, starting to raise his voice while he pointed his finger at his brother angrily, "Woah baby brother, calm down now. You don't know her, I’m telling you she's crazy man," Merle mistakenly said as he felt his brother shove him, "Man, the hell did I just say? I don't wanna hear her name comin out your mouth-" he stops yelling at Merle when he hears a baby crying from a distance away.
"That's a baby," he said and backed off, grabbing his crossbow off of the ground. He scoffed when he heard Merle's nonsense about it not being baby and just some animals mating. He kept hearing the baby and it reminded him of whenever Judith cried, you and him would be right there calming her down. Whenever you were calming her down he would admire you, a hidden smile on his face while he watched. He quickly made up his mind and went up to the bridge to save the people and their baby.
After everything he was starting to get sick of it, he wanted to go back to what he considered home, his family. Once Merle ripped the back of his shirt and exposed a part of himself that he never let anyone see but you that one time, that was his last straw. He left and made his way back to the prison immediately. After saving Rick and making his way to the cell block, you were the only thing on his mind.
While he was running to get inside, he saw the blood on the pavement in front of the cell block doors from where you fell. He stopped in his tracks and pointed at it, "Rick, who's blood is that?" he gruffly called out and turned around to see Rick giving him a look, a very knowing look that Daryl was not in the mood to start getting used too.
A look that really means one of two things.
Someone they all cared about was dead or Rick had some news to share with the archer.

Summer Vacation
Prompt: Avengers prompt!
Peter is going to summer school so he can get ahead for his senior year, but when he tried to explain why he was going to the team, they didn't seem to listen, instead focusing on the fact that Peter is going to summer school.
They start teasing him, joking about how he really couldn't be much of a genius if he was going to summer school and things like that.
But Peter takes them seriously. He starts to think that he's stupid or something like that, despite the fact that he's doing all his easy classes (gym/PE, health, etc) over the summer so that he can do his harder classes (AP Biology, Physics, Spanish 4/AP Spanish, etc) during the year
Tony finds out and he, Bucky, Sam, and/or Rhodey team up to essentially give the team the most extreme dressing down/lecture they've ever had

“Summer plans,” Steve prompts, “you have any?”
Peter swallows. “Yeah, yeah, I, um, I got some plans.”
Or, Peter isn't exactly thrilled to let the Avengers know that he's planning on going to summer school. But it's fine, he's just...doing things the way he wants to do them. They'll understand.
...right?
“So,” Clint says as they sit down in the living room, “last summer before senior year, huh?”
“Yep.” Peter kicks the remote over to him. “One more year and then I’m in college!”
“Shit, kid, you’re growing.”
“You know time passes for everyone, right?”
“Yeah, yeah, you don’t have to remind me how old I am.”
“I didn’t say that!”
“’S what you meant, though.” Clint elbows him. “Young whippersnappers think you can get away with everything nowadays, don’t you?”
“You sound like Mr. Stark.”
“I’m not that old.”
“Who’re we calling old?” Natasha walks in and sits next to Peter, ruffling his hair. “Hey, Baby Spider.”
“Mama Spider,” Peter sighs, leaning into it as Clint makes a fake-gagging noise in the background. “Clint was saying that Mr. Stark—“
“Ah, yes, that makes sense.”
“I didn’t even finish!”
“You didn’t have to.” She winks and ruffles his hair again. “So, you’re a senior when you go back in the fall, huh?”
“Yeah.”
Oh, god, he’s gonna be a senior. He’s gonna go off to college. Oh, wow. Time is passing. Rude.
“You gonna go all out this summer, then?” Clint leans against the back of the couch. “Party big time? Get Tony to introduce you to the playboy lifestyle before you’ve gotta settle all down and be serious for the college admissions teams?”
“Wouldn’t it make more sense to do it the summer before he goes to college?”
“Nah. Then they’re already watching you ‘cause you ‘represent them,’ or whatever. Beforehand? You just gotta hide it well enough and you’ll be just fine.”
Silence. Clint looks over to see both Natasha and Peter staring at him.
“What? I didn’t go to college, I physically can’t speak from experience.”
“Uh-huh.”
“What’s that look for?”
“No, no, Mr. Barton, I totally believe you.”
Clint picks up a pillow and whacks him—gently!—in the face with it.
“Hey!”
“No assaulting my Baby Spider,” Natasha says, pulling Peter closer and glaring at Clint, “he didn’t do anything wrong.”
“Why, ‘cause he’s your Precious or whatever?”
“Yes.”
“I didn’t think I’d be compared to the One Ring today,” Peter mumbles half into Natasha’s sleeve, “but here we are.”
Natasha gives him one more squeeze Clint does his very best not to look fond at—seriously, these guys are super spies, you’d think they’d have a little better control of their faces—and lets him go. Peter sits up and tries to get his hair back under control.
“So since you’re not doing whatever the hell it was Barton suggested,” Natasha says, “what are you doing?”
“Well, I—uh—“
“Are we talking about summer plans?”
“Dr. Banner?” Peter turns around, hanging over the back of the couch. “I thought you weren’t getting in ’til tomorrow!”
“Conference wrapped up early, caught a good flight.” He settles into one of the chairs. “You were right, by the way, kid, about the neutrinos. Good catch.”
“Thanks, Dr. Banner, sir.”
He cracks a smile. “You don’t need to do all that, kid.”
“He’s still calling Tony ‘Mr. Stark,’” Clint stage-whispers, “I don’t think this is something you can fight.”
“What’re we fighting?”
“Okay, did all of you just finish right when we were gonna start hanging out?” Clint throws his hands up as Steve comes to join them too. “Where are all of you coming from?”
Steve blinks. “I just went to the bathroom after dinner, Clint. You saw me not ten minutes ago.”
“Wait, really?”
“He’s getting old, Steve,” Peter stage-whispers, “you have to be nice to him.”
“Well, unless I’m very much mistaken, I’m still the oldest around here when Thor’s not in town.”
“But you got the serum and were then cryogenically frozen.”
“Ah, yes, you’re right.”
“You little—“
“Hey,” Peter shrieks as Clint starts roughhousing with him, “hey! No! Not fair!”
“Of course it’s fair, you need to respect your elders!”
“Giving me noogies is not going to make me respect you!”
“No?”
“No!” Peter squirms against Clint’s grip. “It’s just what all the bullies at school do!”
He gasps as the hold suddenly releases and he’s pulled into another protective hug. As his face is smushed into the leather jacket, he can feel the death glare Natasha is giving Clint over his head. He fumbles around and pats clumsily at her elbow.
“’S fine,” he slurs, “it didn’t hurt that much, ‘m good, don’t kill him.”
“Sorry, Peter,” Clint says softly, “are you okay?”
“Yup, yeah, ‘m fine.” He keeps fumbling to try and get Natasha to let go. “We’re all good, Mama Spider, leggo.”
Natasha does but she keeps glaring at Clint even after Peter leans the other way and rests his head on his shoulder.
“Well, when I came in,” Bruce says, trying to break the tension, “we were talking about summer plans.”
“Oh, that’s right.” Steve turns to him. “Your last summer before senior year, right?”
“You guys do know there’s technically only one summer before senior year, right?”
Clint very gently hits his leg. “Don’t be a smartass, kid.”
“He’s Tony’s protege,” Bruce sighs, “don’t think that’s an option.”
“Summer plans,” Steve prompts, “you have any?”
Peter swallows. “Yeah, yeah, I, um, I got some plans.”
Steve perks right up. “Yeah? You and Aunt May gonna go anywhere, do anything? Are MJ and Ned gonna come?”
“Ooh, are MJ and Ned coming?”
Peter lifts his head to look up at Clint. “Why are you so excited about that?”
“You got friends, Pete. That’s exciting.”
“You—do you not also have friends?”
“Them? Nah. We tolerate each other at best.”
At the vague noises of agreement, Peter looks around in confusion until Natasha gives him a wink. He settles back against Clint and shakes his head.
“No, we’re not planning any trips. We, uh, don’t have the funds for that.”
“Kid. You know Tony’d foot the bill for anything you wanted, right?”
“Yeah, but then he’d also try to plan some of it, and May and I don’t really have the same…lifestyle choices that he does.”
Bruce snorts. “That’s one way to put it.”
“So no trips, then,” Natasha says, “but plans?”
“Yeah.”
When he doesn’t say anything else, Clint prods him.
“Hey! What was that for?”
“Quit being so tight-lipped, Pete, just tell us.”
“But they’re boring,” Peter whines, gesturing to the others, “what are you guys gonna do?”
“Right now, I’m gonna listen to what your plans for the summer are.”
“Oh, that sounds like fun.”
“Yeah, I like that idea.”
Peter rolls his eyes. “You guys are the worst.”
“Sure are,” Clint deadpans, “so spill.”
“I’m gonna do summer school.”
Crickets.
Then Steve huffs. “Okay, kid, if you don’t want to tell us, you don’t have to.”
Peter frowns. “I just did. Those are my plans, I’m doing summer school.”
“Why would you need to do summer school?” Bruce leans forward. “You’re one of the smartest kids I know.”
Clint snorts. “Evidently not.”
“Hey!” Peter sits up and pulls away from him. “What does that mean?”
“You’re going to summer school, Pete,” Clint says slowly like he needs to hear what he just said again, “isn’t that for the kids who need more time than the normal school year?”
“Well, yeah, but—“
“Don’t make fun of him, Barton,” Steve says, “if Peter needs a bit more help for his senior year, that’s fine.”
“It’s not that I need help—“
“No, no, it’s okay, Peter.” Bruce shifts in the chair. “I shouldn’t have said it like that. You’re not any less important to us just because you’re doing summer school.”
Peter frowns. “No, that’s not what I—“
“Peter,” Natasha says softly, “it’s fine. We understand.”
No, you don’t, Peter wants to scream, you don’t and now you’re all treating me like a kid but not in the way that you need to ‘cause I’m still squishy, in the bad way where you don’t listen to me and assume you know everything and you need to listen to me and—
“So,” Steve says, turning to Bruce, “what’re your plans for the next few months?”
And they move on.
Peter’s left there, sitting on the couch, trying to figure out how to explain why he’s going to summer school. But every time he tries to say something or figure out how to break into the conversation, there’s this awkward moment in his head where he’s sure they’re just going to give him that condescending or patronizing okay, Peter, and he doesn’t want that either.
Okay.
Okay, maybe that’ll be the end of it. He can just…go to summer school and it’ll be fine and then everything will go back to normal.
Then Clint starts teasing him about it.
“Hey, summer school, when do you start? You got all your notebooks and everything?”
“Don’t worry about it, summer school, you go study.”
“Hey, aren’t you still in school? Don’t you have homework?”
Could it be classified as concern? Yeah. Is it? Hell no.
And then Bruce starts to ask the other interns and scientists for help instead of Peter. Even when Peter knows the answer and he’s the one who’s been developing that prototype and he’s the one who found out that answer in the first place, Bruce will pass him over like he’s not even there and he knows, he knows exactly why.
And the worst part, the worst part is that Steve and Nat don’t do anything.
If Clint makes a joke, Nat either tells him to take it easy on him ‘cause he’s just a kid or she doesn’t say anything. And he can see her hiding a smile behind her coffee mug, he’s not an idiot. Or when Bruce passes him over she just shrugs and doesn’t point out that Peter’s the one who brought that issue to their attention in the first place.
And Steve? Forget it. He barely even reacts. He doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t even look over when Clint teases him, or when Bruce says he doesn’t have to worry about one of his projects, and even when he tries to work up the courage to talk to him, Steve always seems so…busy.
Peter sits on the edge of his bed, staring at his backpack. His first day is tomorrow. He has his notebooks, he has his loose leaf paper, he has his textbooks and his pencil case and everything.
His fists clench on the bedcovers.
Maybe he is stupid.
He…he shouldn’t need summer school. Ned and MJ don’t need summer school. Even Flash doesn’t need summer school. May thought it was a good idea, was she…is she just being nice? Is this her way of telling him that his grades aren’t good enough to get into college?
He grips the sheets harder.
…is that why Ned and MJ are still friends with him? Are they—do they think he needs the help? Is that why they insist on doing homework together, are they—maybe they’re trying to get that they tutored one of their fellow peers to write about for college admissions.
His lip wobbles.
His teachers did say he’d benefit from doing summer school.
Peter buries his face in his hands.
“Mr. Stark is requesting entry to your room,” FRIDAY's quiet voice comes from the ceiling, “should I activate Rainy Day Spider protocol?”
“N-no, he—he can come—come in, FRI.”
“Hey, kid, we just got that new shipment of nanites from the Cali lab, c’mon, we gotta test ‘em out.”
He should ask someone else. Someone more qualified. Someone smarter.
“Pete, come on, we’re wasting daylight here.”
No. He can’t. He’s too dumb. He’ll just break them.
“Pete? Peter?”
Just leave him here. With his stupid summer school backpack and his stupid tears and his stupid, stupid self.
“Oh, shit.”
There’s a blur of movement out of the corner of his eye and then the bed’s dipping beside him.
“Spider-ling,” he hears softly, “hey, hey, Spider-ling, c’mere.”
Peter closes his eyes and bows his head and tries to be as small as he can but then warm hands are turning him to a cotton chest and there are fingers carding through his hair.
“Hey, bambino,” Tony murmurs, “you wanna talk about it?”
Peter wriggles his head into the crook of his neck and sniffles.
“No? Not right now?” When Peter shakes his head, he gives him a squeeze. “That’s okay. Can you cry some of this out for me?”
Peter is a stupid kid and he bawls into his mentor’s shoulder like a fucking baby.
“Shh, shh, there you go,” Tony says softly, rocking him a little bit back and forth, “that’s better. We’re just gonna sit here for a moment, okay, bambino?”
Tony doesn’t call him bambino when he’s upset. He only calls him that when he’s worried. Maybe he won’t be mad if Peter tells him that he’s stupid and he should pick someone else.
When the sniffles finally trail off, Tony pulls back and gives Peter a tissue box.
“Now,” he says, still soft and careful as Peter blows his nose with a desolate honk, “why don’t you tell me what’s wrong?”
Peter sniffles. “‘M stupid.”
“It’s not stupid if it’s making you this upset, baby.”
“No,” Peter says insistently, “I’m stupid. That’s the problem.”
Tony blinks. “You’re not stupid, Peter.”
“I am.”
“Okay,” Tony says slowly, reaching up to cup Peter’s miserable face in his hands, "why don’t you tell me why you think you’re stupid?”
Peter flails in the direction of his backpack.
“…did you forget something?”
“No. I gotta go to summer school.”
“And you think that makes you stupid?” When Peter nods, Tony tuts and brings him back in for another hug. “That doesn’t make you stupid, Peter.”
“But I shouldn’t need it!”
Peter wrenches himself away, burying his face in his hands again.
“I should—shouldn’t need it ‘cause Ned—Ned and MJ don’t need it and no one else needs it and I—and I—and I should be able to do it just fine but I—but—but—“
“Shh, easy, bambino,” Tony soothes, tugging his hands away from his face, “you and I both know that being smart or stupid has nothing to do with how you do in school.”
“…it doesn’t?”
“Look, most formalized education is designed to get kids used to the capitalist workforce and how well you fit into that kind of structure.”
Amidst the snot and tears, Peter narrows his eyes at Tony. “You’re a billionaire who runs a company that contributes really heavily to the problems of capitalism, Mr. Stark.”
“…yeah, and as of next quarter, we’re shifting our practice to try and be better about that.”
Peter sniffles. Tony reaches out and rests a hand on his arm.
“But you know that you’re a smart kid. You do,” he says when Peter tries to interrupt him, “you know you’re a smart kid. And part of that is because you’re willing to work hard to do the things you want to do and learn the things you want to learn.”
“B-but if I’m going to summer school—“
“Where’s the kid that flew into an indignant rage when Ned wasn’t going to be allowed to have extra time on his tests? Where’s the kid that fought for subtitles to be added to all the mandatory in-class videos?” Tony nudges him gently. “Huh?”
Peter twists his hands together and looks down guiltily.
Tony sighs and lifts his chin back up. “You’re not stupid, Peter, and your worth isn’t determined by whether you’re taking summer school or not. You’re the smartest kid I know and you’re gonna help me as long as you want to, okay?”
“O-okay, Mr. Stark.”
“That’s my bambino.” He opens his arms. “Now c’mere.”
Peter lets Tony wrap him up in another hug, closing his eyes and breathing in the scent of coffee and grease.
“…you should wash your shirts, Mr. Stark.”
Tony lightly tugs his hair. “Shaddup, kid.”
“You shaddup.”
Voices come from the hall and Peter peeks over Tony’s shoulder just in time to see Sam and Rhodey pause by the door. Their conversation tapers off as Sam waves a little.
“Hey, Pete,” he says, “you guys need a minute?”
Peter shakes his head, sitting up a little. “You can come in if you want.”
Sam nods and they come in, Rhodey leaning against the wall by the door and Sam taking a seat on the bed next to them.
“You doing okay?”
“Mhm.”
Sam glances at Tony. “You want us to help support you or do you want a distraction?”
Peter rubs his nose. “Support would be nice.”
“Okay. Would talking about it help?”
Here goes nothing. Peter sits up and turns to face Sam, his hands clenched in his lap. “I’m going to summer school.”
Sam just nods. “Cool. My nephews are doing the same.”
“Wait, really?”
“Yeah. Sarah called me about it, had me help figure their schedules out and everything.”
“I didn’t know you had nephews.”
“Really?” Peter shakes his head. “I should introduce you. They’re real smart kids too, you guys would get along great.”
Peter nods. “What, um, what are they studying over the summer?”
“They’re doing the core curriculums that they don’t wanna do during the school year.” Sam waves his hand. “Health class, gym requirements, that kind of stuff. Sarah told me they said they wanted to make sure they had enough time to focus on ‘the good stuff’—their words, not mine—during the school year.”
Peter blinks. And blinks again.
“That…that’s what I’m doing too.”
“Oh, really? That’s cool.”
“Yeah,” Peter says, smiling a little, “yeah, that…that’s cool.”
Sam smiles too, gently nudging Peter’s leg with his. “You look a little better, kid.”
“Y-yeah. I, um, I think I feel better too.”
“That’s good.”
Rhodey glances at the backpack. “When do you start?”
“Tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow? Then we’d better get you to eat. C’mon,” he says, gesturing them out into the hall, “Mama Rhodes said the meal before your first day is the most important dinner of your life.”
“That’s what my titi said too.”
“I can’t cook like my mama can—“
“No, you cannot.”
“Shut up, Tony, you still burn water.”
“Wait, he does what?”
“Shh, shh, you didn’t hear anything. FRIDAY, let it be known that I do not burn water on the stove.”
“I don’t know, boss, there’s some footage that would stand opposed to that record.”
“FRIDAY, I’m gonna need you to send all of that footage to my phone,” Sam says, “thank you.”
“Sending, sir.”
Peter giggles as Tony and Rhodey keep bickering all the way to the kitchen. But as they get closer, he can hear the voices of the others, and the smile drops.
“Hey,” Rhodey says, elbowing him, “what happened?”
“Nothing.”
Of course, all three of them stop and look at him.
“It’s fine,” he mumbles, squirming a bit under the attention, “it’s just—“
“Hey, where’s the kid? Aren’t kids supposed to eat before they go to school?”
Peter isn’t quite quick enough to disguise his flinch and all three of them see it. Tony’s face darkens and he turns to stomp into the living room when Rhodey catches him and shakes his head.
“Come on,” Sam says, “let’s get you fed. You still up for pasta tonight? I think Steve’s cooking.”
Steve’s pasta is really good. But also…
“Yeah, sure.”
They walk into the kitchen and Clint throws up his hands. “Summer school! You made it!”
“You’re going to summer school?”
Oh great, Thor’s here. “Yeah, I’m going to summer school.”
“Is this unusual?” Thor pats the seat next to him. “You sound like you’re not used to it.”
“I’ve, uh, I haven’t gone before.”
“Ah, I see. Here, have some salad.”
“Thanks.”
“Are you learning new subjects?” Thor sets the salad bowl down and takes the big dish of pasta. “Is that why you’re going for extra schooling?”
“N-no, not really. Oh, here,” he says as Thor makes to put some pasta on his plate too, “thanks. No, I’m, uh, you have to take a certain number of mandatory classes your senior year but I’m gonna go and get them out of the way so I can focus on the fun ones throughout the rest of the year.”
“Ah, a clever solution. I presume the ones you’re getting over with are boring and uninteresting?”
“Yeah. Health class, gym, that one weird music one they make us all take for two weeks.”
Thor nods, passing off the pasta. “But that means you will not be in school all summer, then? It will be shorter?”
“Yeah. Just ‘cause I’m doing the mandatory ones. It’ll be like…three weeks at the most?”
“And you’ll probably finish in less time than that?”
“…it’s likely, yeah.”
“Well, then.” Thor grins at him. “You must come to Asgard after you’ve finished. There are some electives there that I think you would greatly enjoy.”
Peter grins. “Yeah, yeah, that sounds like fun. I mean I’d have to ask Aunt May, of course—“
“Naturally.”
“—and maybe, could Ned and MJ come too? They’re both really smart and they, um—“
“Yes, of course. The more the merrier.” Thor places a roll of bread on his plate. “Now enough talk. Eat! You’ll need your wits about you.”
Peter happily tucks into his plate, oblivious to the glares Tony is giving the rest of the team and the slightly guilty looks on their faces. He’s also oblivious to the fact that Tony lingers behind when Sam, Rhodey, and Thor all take him out for ice cream after dinner.
“So,” he says as he turns to a very shifty Clint Barton, “you wanna explain why you were making fun of Peter?”
“It wasn’t just him,” Bruce admits, “I…was also not very…decent.”
“You, Bruce? I’m surprised. And disappointed.”
“Bruce wasn’t as bad as I was,” Clint says, “I…yeah, I owe the kid an apology.”
“We do too,” Natasha says as Steve nods, “we didn’t exactly stop you too.”
“Nor did we let Peter explain.” Steve scrubs a hand over his face. “Damn.”
“So are you all gonna accept your fates and sit down?”
Clint makes a face but sits. Natasha sits next to him and folds her hands politely in her lap. Bruce sits in the chair and takes his glasses off, folding them and putting them in his pocket. Steve sits too and nods.
Tony claps his hands. “Perfect. Now, let’s talk about how not to be dicks about someone going to summer school.”
When Peter comes back to an apologetic team and one of the best Steve hugs he’s had in a while, Tony nods to himself and discreetly high-fives Thor.
“Thanks, Point Break.”
“Anytime, Stark.”
“Were you serious about the electives on Asgard?”
“Absolutely. The little spider would excel in some of their classes.”
“…and his friends, they can come too?”
“Of course.”
“…what about me?”
“Let’s not get carried away.”

If I Fell For You (Part 5) - Date Night
Tumblr media
Summary: The reader and Jensen go on their first fancy date together before attending a nanny happy hour the next night. The reader makes a new friend there to Jensen’s dismay but someone from the past will come along and change things between the new couple...
Masterlist
Pairing: Jensen x nanny!reader
Word Count: 4,200ish
Warnings: language, lying, angst, mention of past child abuse/assault, fluff
A/N: This a rough one, not gonna lie. Enjoy!
________
Friday Night
“Y/N, I’m downstairs when you’re ready,” said Jensen through your closed bedroom door.
“I’ll be there in five,” you said.
“See you in fifteen,” he chuckled before he walked away. You walked back into your bathroom, looking over your hair in a bun. It looked like a freaking messy bun actually. You should have done it down and in big flowy waves instead. You pouted and smoothed out your dress. Of course you were bloated and you’d nicked your leg more than once shaving earlier.
“It’s Jensen,” you said to yourself, taking a deep breath. “He’s never even seen you in makeup before. You’re fine. He’s not gonna say anything.”
You forced yourself out of the bathroom and slipped on your heels, your clutch in your hand. You wobbled for a step or two on the carpet but did better once you were out in the hardwood hall. Ten seconds later you were downstairs, heading over to the foyer area.
“All set?” you asked, Jensen spinning around. He smiled as he stared, eyes looking you up and down more than once, not even trying to hide it.
“Y/N, you look pretty,” said Arrow as she rushed in from the family room.
“Yes she does,” said Jensen. “We’ll be home soon, okay?”
“Okie dokie,” she said, wandering off with a little wave.
Half an hour later you were sat at a table in a very nice restaurant, Jensen tugging on his collar. His cheeks were slightly pink but it wasn’t from the cold outside.
“So...what’s a good wine?” you asked, sliding the drink list over to him. “I’m not really good with the names.”
“You like red or white?” he asked.
“Normally red,” you said. “You?”
“I like a Merlot,” he said. “You like dry?”
“Sure,” you said.
“We’re not going dutch tonight you know right. This is all on me.”
“We can go dutch, Jensen.”
“I asked you out and this is fancy, even for me. My treat, okay?” he asked.
“Alright,” you said, looking around the restaurant and over in the distance to the bar. “You know I could go for a lemon drop actually.”
He smirked and set the list down, a waiter coming by. He ordered a gin and tonic for himself while you got your cocktail, Jensen breaking off part of a breadstick from the basket.
“Bread’s good,” he said with his mouth full.
“So. Ackles,” you said, picking up a piece and tearing off a chunk with your teeth. He stared and started to laugh to himself. “Ah, there’s my sweet guy.”
“Thought you were gonna say boyfriend for a second.”
“This is our second official date,” you said. “So. Boyfriend.”
“Yes girlfriend?” he chuckled.
“What’s an appetizer look like in a place like this? Like a tiny cube of cheese with some dressing they’re gonna charge twenty bucks for or something like that?”
“You’re goofy,” he said, a big smile stuck on his face. “Uh, they probably have something like that. There’s normally some kind of bread olive oil bowl option.”
“Fancy people eat like a starving college student apparently,” you said. He tried to hide his laugh as your waiter brought over the drinks and a pair of menus. “Excuse me but can you recommend an appetizer? We’re both new to town and are wondering what you think is a good choice.”
“You can’t go wrong with our sourdough and seasoned oil dipping sauce,” he said. You glanced at Jensen and smiled. “The artichoke spinach dip and tartar crackers are also quite lovely.”
“Do you have anything with a little more substance? We’re quite starving,” said Jensen.
“The fried calamari and crab cake poppers combo is a great option,” he said.
“What’s calamari?” you asked.
“Squid, miss,” said the waiter.
“We’ll have that combo,” said Jensen.
“Perfect. I’ll put that in and be back shortly to get your dinner orders,” he said. He took off and you made a face at Jensen.
“Squid?” you asked.
“It’s fried. Trust me, it’s pretty good,” he said. “I could go for a good steak. You see a filet on here yet?”
“Uh,” you said, eyes scanning the page and seeing most everything was something you’d never heard of.
“There it is,” he said. “I’m getting that and scalloped potatoes. See anything you want to try?”
“Uh, why does half of this seem like it’s a foreign language to me?” you asked. Jensen looked at his menu and chuckled.
“That would be because it’s in French. We’re in Canada and this is a french restaurant.”
“Oh. Gotcha,” you said. He got up and leaned over the back of your chair, glancing at the page.
“These are soups and salads,” he said, pointing near the top. “Sandwiches. Pasta. Main dishes down here.”
“Uh, maybe pasta?” you said. He knelt down and read off the dishes to you one by one, your waiter returning by the time he was just finishing.
“Anything I can assist you with?” he asked.
“I’ll have the fettuccine alfredo with chicken please,” you said, handing the menu to him, Jensen returning to his seat.
“Face principale?” he asked. You stared at Jensen and he smiled.
“She doesn’t speak French,” said Jensen.
“My apologies miss. What would you like for your main side dish?” asked the waiter. “Steamed vegetables, scalloped potatoes, lobster bisque-”
“I’ll have the vegetables,” you said. Jensen ordered and the waiter went to get your appetizer, a sad smile on his face.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t think twice about the French thing.”
“Kinda hot that you know French,” you said. “I should try to learn it if we’re gonna be up here for a few months.”
“I’m an idiot and I learned it so you’ll do just fine picking it up,” he said.
“So where’d you learn in the first place?”
“I’m stuffed,” you said, plopping your napkin from your lap onto the table awhile later. Jensen took the last bite of the piece of mouse pie, licking his lips as he finished. “This might have been the best alfredo I’ve ever had.”
“I enjoyed it. Mostly I enjoyed listening to you talk,” he said. You blushed and looked away, Jensen letting out a small hum. “It’s funny. Doesn’t really feel like just a second date, does it.”
“No, not really,” you said. “I guess that’s what happens when you’re friends first.”
“Well I definitely like being friends with you,” he said.
“Me too, Jensen.”
“Want to get out of here?” he asked. You smiled and nodded, the two of you outside a few minutes later wrapped up in your coats. Your feet were cold in just your heels, Jensen’s arm wrapping around your waist when you almost slipped more than once. It was slow going back to the car, especially when it started to snow lightly.
“You know, that dress would still look hot with winter boots,” he chuckled.
“Sorry,” you said.
“No apology necessary. I got freaking dress shoes on and my feet are cold. I can’t imagine how you’re holding up,” he said.
“The perils of being a woman,” you said.
“Well, no need to impress me is all I’m saying. I ain’t looking at your feet anyways,” he said.
“Oh well in that case I’ll wear some nice baggy sweats next date.”
“Please do,” he said.
“You really don’t care, do you.”
“I think you look beautiful tonight. But I think you look beautiful every night. You did your hair and makeup and this is stunning, don’t get me wrong. But she’s not more beautiful than the girl at home with hair tossed up all messy walking around in oversized shirts and leggings. It’s like flowers. Both are pretty but one isn’t more pretty than the other.”
“Where the fuck did I find you?”
“At my house,” he chuckled. You whacked his arm and leaned your head on his shoulder. “Almost back to the car. I’ll blast the heat for us when we’re in there.”
“Thanks Jensen.”
“Thank you for the date, honey. I mean it. We’ll do it again sometime. Promise.”
Saturday Night
“Your boyfriend seems pissed,” said Brandon. You sipped up the last of your beer, glancing over to the bar where Jensen was tapping his finger.
“He’s fine,” you said. “So any good parks around the west side of town?”
“Center Grove is always my choice. Good playground, nice area, cops routinely are around. Parking can kinda be a bitch sometimes but it’s worth it in my opinion. My kids love it.”
“You’ve been their nanny for five years you said?”
“Mhm,” he said, knocking back the last of his drink. “Shawn’s mom is their mom’s best friend.”
“Oh. So you had an in already.”
“You know long term gigs are the way to go in this job,” he said. “Not too many American girls come up here. Your accent is cute.”
“Is it, eh?” you chuckled.
“Like I’ve never heard that one before,” he said, Jensen walking back with two beers and a clenched jaw.
“You okay?” you asked as he sat it down in front of you.
“I’m fine,” he said, taking a long sip. Brandon slid off his seat and made a face.
“I need a refill anyways. Nice meeting you Y/N. We gotta hang some time,” he said as he walked away.
“For sure,” you said, Jensen rolling his eyes behind his back. “Jensen what’s going on?”
“Nothing,” he said.
“Well you obviously have a problem with Brandon.”
“I don’t have a problem with him. I have a problem with my girlfriend flirting with another guy.”
“I was not flirting. I’m trying to make new friends. It was your idea to come to this thing tonight anyways.”
“Whatever,” he scoffed.
“Excuse me?”
“In case I wasn’t clear, I’m not the kind of guy where I’m okay with you dating multiple people at once. I don’t get that not exclusive shit.”
“I’m with you and only you. I was being nice. Geez, let’s just go,” you said. You got up and pulled your coat on, bumping into a guy on the way out. He turned and apologized, staring at you a little long.
“Y/N?” he asked, a big smile on his face. “My Y/N?”
“Dad?” you said, his face much older looking than you remembered but his eyes still the same.
“Dad?” said Jensen. You brushed past your dad and outside, Jensen hot on your heels.
“Y/N,” your dad said as he left the bar.
“Stay away from me,” you said. “Jensen I want to go home right now.”
“What-”
“Right fucking now!”
He held up his hands and you walked around the block to the car, getting inside and Jensen taking off.
“So your dad’s alive huh,” he said. You stared out the dark window with crossed arms. “So is everything I know about you bullshit?”
“What?”
“Is literally anything you’ve ever told me true? Your dad obviously didn’t die when you were a kid. All those late night talks about family and shit, you just like to fuck with people or something?”
“I was not flirting with Brandon you asshole. You didn’t need to know my whole life story the second I meet you.”
“Oh. Okay. Just your fake life story then, huh?” he said. You shook your head as he got stuck at a red light. “If I can’t trust you, I can’t employ you let alone date you.”
“Whatever,” you said. He drove in silence until you were out of the city, going along quieter roads. You were close to the house when he suddenly turned right towards the local park and stopped in the lot, putting the car in park. He touched your arm and you turned, Jensen leaning over and kissing you roughly, far more roughly than you thought he was capable of. You blinked when he pulled back, Jensen looking you up and down.
“He won’t hurt you.”
“What?”
“Did he walk out on you and your mom?” he asked. “You told him to stay away from you. Sort of shouted it at him. Maybe you lied but maybe...I’m sorry I got jealous of Brandon. I’m still scared and I think you’re still scared too and that’s okay. If you lied about your dad, I’m gonna trust you have a good reason for it. I’m sorry for what I said. I trust you and I don’t want to know what my life is like without you in it.”
“It’s okay,” you said quietly. “I forgive you.”
“You don’t have to tell me what happened,” he said. “We can just go home, okay?”
“Why’d you pull over?”
“Because I knew I didn’t mean it and I knew I overreacted. I said I’d mess up when we started. It’s been a long time since I’ve done this. I’m 42 with three kids. Brandon is thirty and young and stronger than I am and can go out to the bar whenever he wants. You have options. You don’t have to settle for me.”
“If I’d wanted to settle, I’d have married my ex. What I wanted was the guy that forgives me for not telling him the whole story cause I’m not ready to say it. I want the guy that makes me happy and feel like I have a teenage crush but it’s deeper than that. You’re not the settle for option, Jensen. Why don’t you get that?”
“The last time I felt like this, I married the girl,” he said quietly. “That didn’t turn out so well.”
“You didn’t get the time you deserved with her. It doesn’t mean it ended badly. You loved her and she knew it. She wants you to be happy again, whether it’s me or somebody else.”
“See? That’s the shit that tells me...it tells me to keep falling for you. I’m so sorry for how I acted tonight.”
“I lied about my dad and not a little white one either,” you said with a nod. You turned away and felt his hand on your cheek. “So much of what I told you was a lie.”
“You don’t have to tell me the truth right now, Y/N.” He stroked your cheek and you glanced over, meeting his soft green eyes.
“My mom died giving birth to me,” you said, Jensen nodding. “He hated me for it. Hated me. He would hurt me when I was a toddler. When I was four he started doing...other things.”
“Four?” he breathed out.
“I didn’t know it wasn’t normal. Not until I started school. I was scared though so I never said anything. One of my friends mom’s realized what was going on when I was over playing one day. He went away and lost custody. I went into foster care briefly and got adopted when I was eight. Single mom who’d lost her husband young. That’s my mom. She was a kind person. Ray was always good to her and to me. But I asked him not to adopt me after she was gone and he knew it was because I was still scared of a dad again. Being a nanny, I’ve met fathers that look at me and I just know what was going through their head. I reported him and kinda fucked up their family situation but-”
“That was the right thing to do,” he said.
“I know it was. I’ve just...I’ve had more than one guy and even a woman walk in on me changing or into my bathroom and it’s like, she’s just the help, nobody cares. They don’t touch so it’s like...what can I even do? Then my house before this one, the guy tried getting in my shower with me and I shoved him and he broke his arm and I just don’t understand why so many people think I’m just a piece of meat. Even my ex never got why it bothered me so much. They didn’t touch me so what was wrong with it? He just didn’t get it. He would get mad if I wasn’t in the mood for sex. Nobody ever fucking gets it except you who I lied to and pissed off tonight and without a word of an explanation why, you say you won’t let somebody hurt me. Do you get why you’re the opposite of fucking settling Jensen?”
“I won’t hurt you.”
“I know you won’t Jensen.”
“How?”
“Because you’re a good person. You’re so gentle and kind. I know you’re strong and tough but I see it everyday. You should never be worried about how your kids will turn out. If they are half as good as you are they’ll be fucking great people. Your daughters aren’t gonna put up with shit and your son is gonna be kind to everyone and say fuck you to the toxic guys out there. I can already tell the kind of person you are through them and it’s a good one. A really good one.”
“I’m not the only good person in their lives,” he said. You sniffled and looked down, Jensen’s hand sliding under your chin and tilting it up. “You don’t have to apologize for not telling me all of that. Never apologize for not telling me that. Okay?”
“I never told anyone about…the other stuff,” you said, wanting to look down but Jensen’s hand holding your chin up.
“You have nothing to be embarrassed about. I’m sorry it took you so long to find people that would protect you.”
“You mean…” He nodded and dropped his hand away, running it over your head. “You’re not gonna like, go back and kick his ass are you?”
“Want me to? I’m very tempted at the moment,” he said.
“I just want to go home. I could use one of those hugs right now.”
“Do you want to stay with me tonight? Just to stay, nothing more.” You nodded and he kissed your forehead, a tiny smile crossing your face. Ten minutes later you were home and the babysitter was gone, Jensen pulling you into his room next to yours. You blew your nose in his bathroom and washed off your face, lifting your head to find a pair of your pajama shorts and one of his shirts on the vanity beside you. He smiled as he ducked out, leaving you to change. You let your hair down and took off your bra before you walked out and saw his blanket on the opposite side of the bed. “Warm enough?”
You spun around as he walked inside and you nodded, Jensen pulling you into a hug.
“I’m sorry for how I was at the bar,” you said.
“I was the one that overreacted, not you,” he said. You felt goosebumps on your arms and he pulled away to turn up the heat, nodding over to the bed. The covers were flung back and you climbed underneath, Jensen getting in on his side. His arm wrapped over your waist and pulled your chest close to his, face only inches away. “You don’t have to worry about him anymore. No one will hurt you again. I promise.”
You moved closer to him, resting your forehead against his.
“Remember last Saturday when we were on the trampoline and you talked about those safety nets,” you said.
“Yes, I do.”
“You’re a really good net,” you said softly.
“So are you,” he murmured. He kissed the tip of your nose and you shut your eyes. “What’d you want to be when you were little?”
“A princess,” you said. He chuckled and you smiled. “I wanted a prince to come take me away and everything would be just fine.”
“Really?”
“Princesses were always happy at the end of the movie,” you said. “They got the boy and they were happy. Then I grew up and prince charming doesn’t exist.”
“Cause you’re not a damsel in distress. You didn’t need the prince to save you.”
“But the prince would have made life so much easier.”
“I’m partial to badass princesses myself,” he said. You opened your eyes and he was smiling.
“I’ve never noticed your freckles before.”
“They come out more when I spend some time in the sun.” You moved a hand up and traced under his eye, Jensen nuzzling into his pillow. “Make you a deal. If the badass princess saves me, the scared prince will save her too.”
“Okay,” you said. You kissed him lazily, Jensen smiling through it.
“Do you want to be a nanny forever?”
“Not forever. It’s an easy way to feel like you have a family when you don’t.”
“Now you do,” he said.
“Jensen you don’t know if this will work out.”
“I do and you do and we’ll take it slow anyways,” he said. “Which is why I’m asking do you want to be a nanny forever.”
“Why?”
“Because maybe someday I won’t need one,” he said.
“I thought about being an elementary school teacher when I was eighteen for a hot second.”
“You did? You’d be amazing.”
“Pay in Texas is crap though. I make more as a nanny.”
“If money wasn’t an issue though, would you want to be a teacher still?”
“Anything at all?” you asked, Jensen nodding, nose brushed against yours. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.”
“You okay?” he asked, reluctantly letting you out of bed.
“I’m good. I want to show you something,” you said. You slipped out of the room and down the hall to the playroom, picking up a book. Jensen was sat up in bed when you returned and crawled under the covers. You handed him the book and he smiled.
“I don’t remember buying this,” he said, flipping it over. “There’s no serial code on it.”
“You can’t buy it. I wrote a children’s book and printed a few copies for myself,” you said.
“You wrote a book?” he asked, flipping through it. “Did you draw this?”
“Yeah,” you said, Jensen staring at you. “I don’t know if it’s any good. I never tried publishing it.”
“You want to write children’s books, don’t you?” he said, starting to read the story.
“I have a number of them written out. I would make up the stories for kids at bedtime and decided to write them down. It’s kinda like whinnie the poo, that age group, you know? Same group of characters but different stories,” you said.
“These are adorable,” he said, turning another page. You were quiet while he read through for a few minutes, Jensen smiling when he shut the book. “I’ve never read a children’s book where they deal with the loss of a parent.”
“The kids really like it,” you said.
“You should publish this. Seriously. It’s cute and I’m a grown ass man and it made me feel better about Dee.”
“It’s just a story,” you said, rubbing the back of your neck.
“I make stories for a living. This whole place would fall apart without stories. This is good. You should consider trying to get it published.”
“Maybe if that nanny job doesn’t work out I will,” you said.
“Do you mind if I keep this?” he asked.
“Not at all. I gave it to JJ in the first place.”
“Thanks. I want to read this to the twins tomorrow,” he said. He set it on the nightstand and slid back down, pulling you with him. “Why’d the mom fox die in the story? I would have expected the dad wolf considering…”
“Wish fulfillment for a nice father,” you said. “Plus I like drawing the wolf.”
“I like him. He’s fluffy,” chuckled Jensen. “Is that why you asked if I carry a picture of my kids when we met?”
“I’m done with asshole parents. If they treat their kids like shit they sure as hell aren’t gonna treat me any better. You seemed like a good guy. Good guys tend to do that kind of thing.”
“I’m not always good.”
“Yeah, you are,” you said. You shut your eyes and nuzzled close to him, Jensen letting out a soft hum. “You okay? With me being here.”
“Very. Feeling better after everything that happened?”
“Mhm,” you said. “I’m still sorry I lied to you.”
“Did you ever lie about your mom?” he asked. “I mean aside from the fact she adopted you, did you lie about her?”
“No.”
“Then you didn’t lie, not really. I’m sorry it came out like that. You should have been able to tell me in your own time.”
“You still would have been angry,” you said.
“I still would have come to my senses too. I’m not perfect. I never was.”
“I don’t want someone perfect,” you said. Your head rested against his chest and you let out a soft sigh.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” he said. He kissed the top of your head and tucked it under his chin, adjusting the blankets once before he stilled.
“Goodnight, Jensen.”

The Wilson family house was adorable. Two stories with chipped blue paint on the walls and yellowing white on the columns. You had beat Sam there, so you decided to just look around for a few minutes before meeting Sarah and the boys. You walked out to the dock in front of their house, admiring the water, how still and calm it was. You were staring into the distance when you heard small footsteps from behind you.
“You know, it’s rude to sneak up on people.” You weren’t sure which boy it was, but you were trying to present a non-threatening front.
“You know, it’s rude to invite yourself onto someone else's property.” You were surprised when you heard Sam’s voice respond to you. Turning quickly to face the man with the confused expression. “I thought you wouldn’t come to the States because of the whole Enemy of it thing.” He walked away from you, gesturing for you to follow as he picked up your abandoned duffle. “He’s not here if that’s who you’re looking for.” You shook your head as you crossed the threshold into the living room.
“I’m not here for him, although he would be a much welcome bonus.” The two of you shared a laugh. “But no, I’m here to help you however I can.” Sam’s eyes narrowed, wondering if he should question your generosity. Your eyes must have given away your desperation for a home because he decided against it.
“Okay, but if you’re here, you’re gonna work. We’ve got a lot of shit to get done if we’re going to fix this boat up.”
“What boat?” You smiled at him as he began explaining what was going on. He just skimmed the top of what was really happening, but you could tell he was worried even though he wore a good facade.
“Get changed into some clothes you don’t mind getting messed up.”
“Am I going to be doing, like, manual labor?” He gave you a ‘duh’ look to which you groaned, “So, shorts are out of the question?” Sam had already walked into the kitchen before replying.
“Only if you want to freeze your ass off!” You changed quickly into a pair of ripped mom jeans that you cinched with a belt at your waist and a white short sleeved shirt.
“Do you have an overshirt I can borrow?”
“You mean, a flannel?” Sam shot back as he exited the room.
“Yeah, an overshirt.”
“No. A flannel. Come on, say it with me, flannel.” He tossed one your way, which you put on the rolled the sleeves up to your elbows.
“It’s an overshirt, Sam. I’m not seeing the issue.”
“Y/N, it's a flannel. Just say flannel, why you gotta make it all fancy?” He walked out the back door and onto a wooden bridge that led to the marina the boat was docked at. He didn’t let the flannel thing go the whole way over, making you laugh loudly and shake your head. As you walked up the dock, you could see several people helping Sarah and Sam with their boat.
“This is all you guys?” You were amazed, you hadn’t seen togetherness like this since before Aunt Peggy died. “Wow.” You said mostly to yourself as Sam walked you up to the woman of the hour.
“Sarah, we’ve got another one. Sarah, Y/N. Y/N, Sarah.” You stuck your hand out for Sarah to shake, which she did kindly. “I’m going to work on getting some of the siding off the boat. Sarah, Y/N is all yours.” He darted off, leaving you with Sarah.
“What ya got for me, Sarah? I’m here to do whatever you need.” She began instructing you to help with cataloging everything that people were bringing. Whether it be rusty spare parts or a couple twenty dollar bills, Sarah wanted to know and she wanted a record of it. A truck pulled up next to the boat and Sam got out hugging the men that exited it.
“Tommy, Carlos, man, this is amazing.” They exchanged a few more words before one of them asked the inevitable question.
“How do we get it off the truck?” A loud scraping sound emitted as the pallet was taken from the truck bed. Bucky lifted the bundle of parts over his head effortlessly, dropping it on the ground. He turned to the group of three men staring at him.
“You’re welcome.” You laughed as you approached. Bucky hauled a gray and black case onto the truck bed, speaking to Sam about it. Suddenly, one of the pipe fittings went out of whack, causing a steady stream of air to escape on the boat. Sarah stopped in front of it on the dock.
“Sam!” She was holding her clipboard as she watched Sam try to stop the leak with a crescent wrench. Bucky walked up next to Sarah, saying hi before telling Sam he was doing it wrong.
“Men. They even mansplain to other men, can you believe that?” You said from beside Sarah while Bucky finished fixing the leak. You tilted your head to admire him, “But we love to watch them work, huh?” She laughed as you wiggled your eyebrows at her. Bucky and Sam turned back to you and Sarah and Bucky’s eyes widened when they landed on your figure. Sam walked toward the front of the boat as Bucky stopped to introduce himself to Sarah.
“Sarah--” His eyes flicked to yours, “Y/N.” Then he quickly followed behind Sam.
“Oh, what was that, Y/N?” Sarah teased, two can play at that game.
“I don’t know, what was your thing about, Sarah?” You said her name like Bucky did to mess with her. She shoved your shoulder away and pushed you back to work.
You had to admit, watching Bucky do domestic type things with his metal appendage did things to you. Just knowing that he was comfortable enough to be around Sam’s whole family with his arm fully on display, made you happy.  The sun was beginning to go down, and you were sharing a beer with Sam and Bucky. Bucky hadn’t spoken to you directly since he got there and it was starting to irk you. You thought that you had something, but maybe not. Bucky rose from his position on the boat, clinking his bottle with Sam’s, claiming he needed to find a hotel room so he could catch his flight tomorrow.
“You’re just gonna set me up like that, huh?” Sam joked.
“I just don’t wanna make it weird for your family.” But Bucky’s eyes caught yours as he spoke.
“Just stay here, man.” Sam began a rant about the people of the town, ending with, “Plus we already got one freeloader for the night, what’s one more, right?”
“Oh goodie! Are we going to braid each other’s hair and play Seven Minutes in Heaven, too?” you teased Sam, but Bucky stiffened.
“We can do whatever you want.” Sam said, then he pointed at Bucky, “Just don’t flirt with my sister. Cause if you do, I’ll have Carlos cut you up, feed you to the fish.” Bucky made a face at Sam before smiling again.
Later that night, after you had all eaten dinner and the kids had gone to bed, you contemplated what your next move was going to be. You were sitting in one of the patio couches outside, a blanket wrapped around your legs, watching the stars reflection in the water. Bucky walked out on the porch, a pair of sweats-- that he had to borrow from Sam because he didn’t pack anything-- slung low on his hips, his blue Henley stopping just before the waistband of his boxers.
His gaze met yours and he approached you as if you were a wild animal and you were going to run away if he made any sudden movements. Your legs had been sprawled across both cushions of the couch, so instead of letting you change positions, Bucky just lifted your legs and then rested them on his lap. His left hand was rubbing back and forth just above your ankle.
“Is there a reason you’ve been avoiding me, James?” He ignored your question all together, opting to ask his own.
“Do you remember when we first met?” You thought back to the first time that you ever saw him. Chained to a chair, hair hiding his face from nosy onlookers.
“Uh, yeah. You were being treated like an animal, caged in a glass box. Why?” His left hand never stopped its motion on your leg.
“When you first started staring at me, I was absolutely positive that it was out of fear. Then when I actually looked at you, you were curious.” You nodded your head, recalling the emotions.
“That was a stressful day.” You could sense that Bucky didn’t need your input to get to where he was going.
“Then, when we were in that stupid tiny blue car that Steve had crammed us into,” he paused to laugh at the memory, “I was sure in that moment, that I was never going to see you again.” His gaze hadn’t left his palms on your legs, refusing to meet your eyes. “And when I saw you in Madripoor, I was positive that it was just someone who looked a lot like you. It couldn’t have been you, I wasn’t that lucky.”
His left hand gripped your leg as he spoke, “But then you started talking and I would’ve known that voice anywhere. All I wanted was to be close to you.”
“Bucky, you almost broke my arm because I sucker punched Zemo.” He shushed you.
“All I wanted was to be close to you, but I’m also a violent person.” He brought his head up, locking his steel blue orbs with yours. “Then you kept talking and you were so smart. So beautiful.” His metal hand left your leg to cup your chin. “Every word out of your mouth mesmerized me, even when you were kind of insulting me.” His thumb stroked your jaw, traveling up to your bottom lip. “And God, the way you said my name.” Your nostrils flared and your brow raised.
“What? James?” You trapped your bottom lip in between your teeth, giving Bucky reason to pull it out with his metal thumb. Your tongue shot out to wet your lips out of habit and Bucky shot you a glare.
“Doll. What’re you doing to me?” He dropped his thumb back to your cheek as his eye flicked over your face. He brought his hands down to your waist, holding it tightly and pulling you closer to him. Your ass now rested against his right leg, and he transferred his grip to wrap around your blanket covered thighs. A squeal escaped your lips without your permission, making your face contort.
“When we were sitting at the bar in your gallery I wanted nothing more than to smother you with all my love and affection.” Your heart rate increased, you want that too. “I’m glad I wasn’t able to though.” Your stomach dropped, a feeling of rejection washing over you. You began to pull away from him, wanting to escape his touch. He gripped your legs tighter against his body, “At that time, I wasn’t what I should be for you. I’ll probably never be exactly what I should be for you, but I’m selfish enough right now that I don’t care anymore.” He twisted his upper body to face you.
“What are you talking about, James?” A visible shiver ran down his spine as you said his real name. He brought both his hands up to grip your face. The cool air added to the temperature difference of his hands.
“I’m talking about this.” It wasn’t a half a second later that his lips were on yours. It took you a second to respond, but you did with fervor. Your hands traveled to his neck to show him that you wanted this too. His fingers fanned out, cupping behind your ears to bring you impossibly closer to him. His tongue traced your bottom lip, seeking entrance which you denied playfully. He brought his thumbs to rest on your chin, applying pressure as he asked again. At this point, you didn’t care about the pardon, or Karli and the Flag Smashers, or Sharon and the Power Broker, or even Sam, Sarah and the boys. You could only focus on James’ lips that were molding so perfectly with your own. You eventually had to break apart, your fingertips coming to rest on James’ kiss swollen lips. You locked eyes with him again, his pupils blown wide, and the two of you laughed.
“Oh, that.” You traced his lips while holding his stare. “Is that why you haven’t been talking to me?” He nodded quickly, gaze drifting down to your lips again. He leaned forward wanting to steal another kiss, but you stopped him. “That’s not okay behavior, James. You can’t just not talk to me because you’re frustrated with yourself.” He hummed a noise of assent, kissing your fingertips on his lips. His palm came up to keep your fingers pressed to his lips as his eyes roamed your face. “What does this mean, James? You aren’t just going to get my hopes up and then walk away right?”  He pulled back from you, a look of disappointment crossing his features.
“I’m sorry if I’ve made you feel like that would be a possibility.” He took a deep breath, “After my time in Wakanda, after Shuri de-programmed me, I thought I finally had a group of people I could trust. Then, Ayo was able to remove my arm within the blink of an eye, but not the way that they had when they were tweaking it.” He rested his body against the back of the patio couch. “My therapist had been telling me that I needed to trust someone, and up until that point, I did. I thought I had people who fully trusted me as well.” He looked over at you, silent tears racing down his cheeks. “This clearly isn’t a good excuse, but I felt like you wouldn’t have trusted me either.” Your hands came up to his face, wiping away his tears.
“James, I’ve known of you for years before I met you. Remember how Sharon said I did that report on you in high school?” He nodded as much as your hold on his face would allow him to. “Well, that’s when I first fell in love with the idea of you.” His eyes widened as you continued speaking. “Then, I was lucky enough to meet you and it felt like everything fell into place. After Sharon and I ran off to Madripoor, I wasn’t sure if I was going to see you again, and I was okay with that because maybe you were better left as an idea.” You laughed as you looked down at your lap, dropping your hands from his face. “Then I got dusted during the Blip, which is a whole other thing and then Sharon said that you were in Madripoor.” You shook your head then faced him, eyes locking with his red rimmed pair.
“I would love to fall in love with you. And right now, I want nothing more than to let the trust we have for each other grow into something more.” A wide smile spread across his face and he bared his teeth at you, scrunching his face at the nose.
“I want that too.” He leaned forward slapping a sloppy kiss onto your lips, which you returned with equal intensity. When Bucky pulled back from you to catch his breath, he left his forehead resting against your own. Your breaths synchronized and he patted his hand twice on your outer thigh, signalling you that he was going to get up. “We better get some sleep.” He stood in front of you, offering you his hand. You smiled as you entwined your fingers with his metal ones.
Luckily, Cas and AJ were kind enough to share a room tonight so you could sleep in the other. Bucky’s hand never left your side as he walked you up the stairs. Once you had reached the closed door, he wrapped his arm around you, twisting your body to face him, back pressed against the cold wood of the door. He pushed his whole body forward, molding your bodies together as his hands hooked into the waistband of your sleep shorts.
“I’m glad that we talked, Y/N.” He pecked your lips, pulling back afterwards to stare at your face.
“I’m glad we did too, but what are you doing?” A nervous laugh left your lips and Bucky’s eyes followed the movement.
“You’re just so pretty.” He leaned forward kissing your cheeks, “I’m happy,” A kiss to your chin. “that I’ll be able to,” one to your nose, “call you my doll soon.” His lips lingering on your forehead before bringing his chin up to the top of your head, pulling you into him for a hug. You brought your arms up to wrap around his waist, your face pressed into the spot where his neck and collarbone met.
“Am I not already your doll?” Your question was muffled against his skin, but he heard you.
“Not until I specifically ask you. You can be mine without being my doll, but I want to wine and dine you before I feast.” Your brows raised again and your lips rolled inwards.
“Before you feast?” You were holding back a laugh, so Bucky pulled back, his hands gripping your shoulders, face serious.
“Feast.” He reached behind you opening the door. He gave you a quick smooch before pushing you into the empty room, alone with your thoughts. You had a harder time falling asleep that night. Bucky, on the other hand, had no problem, sleeping like a rock with a smug smile on his face.
You woke up to the sound of eggshells being cracked and forks hitting the sides of ceramic plates. Walking down the stairs and into the kitchen, you saw Sarah working over the stove while Cas was scrambling eggs. Sarah heard you coming down, ever the always aware mother.
“Hey, hope you’re hungry, ‘cause you aren’t leaving this kitchen without eating somethin’.” She watched as you peered into the living room, searching for Bucky’s imposing figure. “I think he’s down at the dock with Sam. They left real early this morning and girl, I swear to God if they’re messin’ with that water pump, I’m going to strangle the both of them.” You laughed, taking the plate of scrambled eggs that AJ was holding out to you.
“Did you tell them that the water pump wasn’t the issue?” She nodded as she stirred the eggs in her pan. “Then you know that they are, Sarah.” The two of you shared a laugh as Cas and AJ sat down to eat, as well.
“Y’all better hurry up before you’re late for the bus.” The boys quickly shoved their remaining food into their mouths, rushing out the door after kissing their mother goodbye.
“How do you do it?” Sarah’s head tilted, wondering what you were referring to. “Being a single mother and managing a business? Does it all get to be too much sometimes?” She could tell you were genuinely curious, so she sighed.
“It’s definitely challenging at times, but thankfully I have a good enough relationship with AJ and Cas that we’re able to get through pretty much anything. After we lost their Dad, I was all alone and scared. I’m still scared a lot of the time, scared that I’m going to mess them up, you know?” She paused a second to recollect her thoughts. “It’s just by chance that we live in this amazing community that helped me whenever I needed a little bit of assistance.” The conversation between the two of you fizzled after that, perhaps it was too heavy a topic for breakfast to handle. You followed her to meet a group of people at the marina, but the journey there wasn’t silent.
“So, I have a question, but you don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to. Although I feel like if you don’t answer it, you’re kind of answering it.” You encouraged her to ask whatever she wanted to. “You and Bucky are a thing, right?” You coughed, unsure of how to answer. “That’s all the confirmation I needed.” Sarah smiled at you as your mouth struggled to form words.
“We are, but we aren’t?” Sarah gave you a look making you roll your eyes. “I don’t know he said that he was excited to see where this was going and then we kissed, so yes?”
“Oh, he looks like a good kisser.”
“Right? Just like he’s got the bone structure and lip plumpness ratio down to a T.” There was a brief moment of silence before the two of you burst into a fit of laughter. The walk down the marina dock wasn’t a long one, so you were able to see Sam and Bucky hunched over a pile of scattered parts.
“Uh-huh. No. No.” Sarah’s head began shaking as Sam was arguing with Bucky, who wasn’t paying attention to him. Instead, his eyes were roaming your figure, lingering on your face. His eyes darted to Sam before he greeted the two of you with a wave of his hand.
“I told you specifically that the water pump was not the problem, and yet, here you are.”
“Yep, Samuel.” Bucky teasingly berated, taking Sarah’s side.
“You’re in just as much trouble, you by-stander.” Your voice lilted into a playful tone as Bucky made a shocked face at you.
“In our defense, we were supposed to be done long before you woke up.”
“I don’t come up to the sky to tell you how to barrel roll, so don’t come down here and mess around with things you don’t understand.” Your fist came up to your mouth.
“Oh, that’s a-burn, Bird Brain.” You pointed a finger at Sam, clutching your stomach with your other hand as Sarah swatted the two boys away. Bucky stopped next to you, wrapping his metal arm around the front of your body, delivering a soft kiss to your temple. He left with Sam, arguing the whole way to the house while you stayed with Sarah, reassembling the water pump.
By the time you had gotten back to the Wilson house, Bucky was hauling his backpack strap onto his shoulder. You slowed your approach, holding your open palms in front of you, confused as to what Bucky was doing.
“Where are you going?” He turned to face you, a smile spreading over his face. His metal arm wrapped around your waist again, pressing a kiss to your temple.
“I’m heading to New York, I’ve got some stuff to wrap up there. I want you to come with me.” You were taken aback, what about Karli and the GRC?
“We haven’t finished this whole thing with the Flag Smashers, or Walker. Bucky, we can’t just walk away from our responsibilities.” Bucky’s hands clasped around your shoulders.
“We aren’t, Y/N, I promise. Sam has Torres doing something with some signal do-dads and he’s going to call us the second he gets a lead.” He spoke calmly and you thought it over. At least he wasn’t trying to run away again, he was accepting that he had a real role in this. You could feel a shift coming, you weren’t quite sure what it meant, but you were hoping it was a good one.
“Okay, let’s go to New York.”
The two of you hadn’t even been in New York maybe twenty minutes when Sam texted Bucky that he had a line on where Karli was. Supposedly she was heading a takeover of the GRC meeting in Lower Manhattan. If being in New York as a wanted person was nerve wracking enough, now you were going to be surrounded by hundreds of government officials and some of New York’s finest. Bucky was on the phone with Sam, talking through the plan when your phone buzzed. Pulling the device out of your pocket, you saw Sharon’s name pop up.
“Heard you were having a bit of trouble with Karli again. Don’t worry, help is on the way, dear.” Your eyes rolled, still not over your argument before.
“You don’t need to be here for this Sharon.” You paused for a second, your left hand resting on your hip. “How did you even hear about this? Sam just now called Bucky, and I guarantee that he didn’t call you first.” Sharon chuckled on her end of the phone.
“You underestimate my reach, Y/N. I’ll meet you outside the building.” Your jaw clenched.
“Sharon, you said you didn’t want to help. What the hell changed that you’re so willing to put yourself in the middle of all this shit?” She was silent on her end.
“I figured you would want me there.” Well, shit what the fuck were you supposed to say to that?
“Lower Manhattan, keep quiet.” You hung up the phone before she could say anything else. You hated not talking to her, and being mad at her was next to impossible. This was your way of saying ‘I forgive you,’ and you knew she would understand. Bucky didn’t say anything as he watched you push your phone into the pockets of your jeans. He could tell something was off, but he could also see that you definitely didn’t want to talk about it right now. Instead he jerked his head for you to follow him, leading you through the streets of Manhattan.
The two of you could see the red lights illuminating the streets, letting you know that you were here. Bucky turned to you, holding his hand out to you, a single earpiece laying in the middle of his palm. As you took it, his hand drifted to your jaw, lifting it to face him. He placed a sweet kiss to your lips before nodding for you to stay behind him. You pulled the brim down on the hat you wore as you stuck to Bucky like glue. He led you through the barricade, one of the soldiers addressing him accordingly.
“Sergeant Barnes.” You made a face beneath your cap, holding back a laugh as Bucky came to a stop in front of you.
“Oh, Sergeant Barnes.” Bucky looked at you over his shoulder as his skin twitched. Your eyes widened. “Does that turn you on, James?” He wasn’t able to answer because of an interruption by Sam’s voice in your ears.
“By the way, I called in some backup.” An agent approached the two of you while Sam kept speaking. “Also, please remember that I can hear everything you say, Y/N. And I don’t need to know what makes the Tin Man tick.” You laughed at Sam’s statement as a twinge of pink ran up the back of Bucky’s neck.
“Excuse me, sir. Are you supposed to be here?” The agent’s hand came up to his hairline. A click sounded as the agent’s face began to glitch. “It’s me.”
“Sharon, what the hell are you doing here?” Sharon pointed an accusatory finger at you.
“Why didn’t you say that to her? The same people who want me in the Raft, want her there too. Or did you forget that?”
“Do I hear Sharon?” Sam asked as he listened in on your conversation.
“Unfortunately.” Bucky grumbled back.
“Hey Sam. I thought I’d get the band back together.” She threw a wink at you as she stepped closer to Bucky. Sam said something else to her, but you had zoned out to watch Sharon. “I hear pardons aren’t all they’re cracked up to be anyway.”
“Depends on the therapist.” Bucky said as he backed away from Sharon and closer to you.
“They’re going to move on the building soon. Be ready.” Sam brought you all back to the task at hand, switching into Captain mode. Bucky nodded to you and Sharon.
“Go with her.” You made a face at him, about to protest when he cut you off. “I don’t care. Stick with her, Y/N. Don’t get arrested though. We’ve got a date.” He wrapped his arm around the front of your waist, like he did at the Wilson house. He pressed a kiss to your temple, staying a little longer than necessary and giving your hip a squeeze before he released you. You heard glass break above your head as Sam crashed through one of the windows upstairs.
“You guys are going to have to do something. Don’t let ‘em out of the building.” You walked behind Bucky to enter the building, the metal detector going off for both you and Sharon. You shared a look with the woman.
“Oops.” Bucky pointed at a guard in tactical gear while he stepped forward.
“He’s one of them. I’ll get the evac.” He left before you could stop him, leaving you and Sharon to deal with the man he pointed at. The both of you followed him to the parking garage, where he was standing post next to two black armored vehicles. The two of you were waiting behind a pillar as you debated what to do.
“We need to stop him.”
“If we take him down now, they’re going to be suspicious and we are going to get arrested. Cool your jets, Y/N.” Your nostrils flared at her tone, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Why didn’t you tell Sam you were already coming?”
“What?” Sharon seemed startled by the question as if you didn’t catch the slip Sam said earlier.
“Sam said that he called in backup. I’m assuming he meant you because we’re the only four people he knows. So why didn’t you tell him you were already coming, or already here or whatever?”
“I didn’t think it was important.” She said dismissively, you could tell she wanted you to drop the subject, but you wanted the truth. Throwing a glance up to the guard, you saw him helping the GRC officials into the vans.
“Damn it Bucky, you had one job.” Bucky ran past you, grumbling a response as he loaded his weight onto a motorbike.
“We aren’t done with this, Sharon.” You pointed at her before she walked away from you. You watched as she ran into the guard then apologized profusely to him. When you caught up to her, she clicked a button in her hand, releasing a noxious gas in the guard’s face. You saw his skin being bubbling and sizzling.
“How’d you do that?” Your eyes hadn’t left the man in the car.
“Mercury vapor, amongst other things.” The two of you continued walking out of the garage, a helicopter started taking off from the helipad on the top of the building.
“Sam, that chopper’s about to take off.”
“Bucky!”
“I don’t fly, man. That’s your thing.” Sam groaned in the earpiece and then you saw him shoot out the window again, chasing after the helicopter. You walked alongside Sharon, following Bucky’s path after the NYPD vans. You got to the barricade just in time to see Scruff holding one of the cars back from falling off a ledge. You were too far away to be able to get to him in time to help, though. You stood next to Sharon as he was ripped away from the back of the car. Your heart dropped as your gaze went to Bucky, who was standing directly underneath the car that was about to crush him.
The crowd around you was holding their phones in front of their faces, at an angle that all they could see was the back of the NYPD van full of GRC officials screaming for help. As the car slipped farther and farther down the platform, your stomach churned more and more. Suddenly, the car stopped, hovering over the opening in the ground. You could make out Sam’s new wings on either side of the car. He pushed forward, lifting the car back to a safe position and then moving away, allowing the crowd to see him fully. The star on his suit glinted proudly as he stood still for a second. The crowd erupted in cheers for the savior. A man to your left cheered for ‘Black Falcon,’ but the man beside him corrected him before you had the chance to.
“No. That’s Captain America.” Red Wing left Sam’s suit to undo the locking mechanism on the back of the van and the GRC officials evacuated the vehicle quickly. Sam turned in the air, removing his shield from his back and throwing it at the Flag Smashers below, knocking them off their feet. At some point, you began moving toward the edge of the platform, ready to help and away from Sharon.
An explosion went off to your right, causing you to search for the source. Puffs of smoke were being thrown in the pit where Sam and Bucky stood and you could see Karli getting away in the confusion. Bucky’s voice rang through your ear.
“Hey. We’re underground. We entered the tunnel on William. Heading south.” You searched for Sharon so you could join up again, but you couldn’t find her. You could hear Sam telling Bucky that the Smashers had split up, and you knew that Bucky would’ve gone with Scruff to keep an eye on him, the unstable bastard. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Sharon crouched behind a stack of pallets, and your brows furrowed. She began whistling and then you heard Karli’s voice.
“Dovich? Is that you?” Sharon emerged from behind the stack, holding her gun in front of her.
“I’m disappointed in you.” Karli brought her gun up as well, speaking to Sharon as an old friend.
“That’s what I was gonna say.” Sharon brought her hands up in surrender, and your head tilted, what the fuck is going on? “You know, when you first came to Madripoor, you reminded me of a young me. I took you in, gave you an opportunity, and you betrayed me.” Oh hell no.
“Because you wanted to control a world that hurt you.” Karli lowered her gun but all her senses remained in overdrive. “But I wanted to change it. I’m not interested in power or an empire. I have bigger dreams.” Sharon scoffed, looking around, her eyes darting over where you were hidden behind a stack of boxes. Could it really be? Was Sharon really the person that you thought you knew?
“What, like this?” She stepped closer to Karli. “Come back and work for me again. All of you. We can make a difference together.” Sharon was trying really hard to convince Karli, but she wasn’t having it.
“You just want me because you need your muscle back. Without us Super Soldiers, how much power does the Power Broker really have?” Motherfucker. You zoned out a bit, trying to decide what to do. A male voice began speaking in French causing you to refocus.
“Four times, or--” You could see Batroc’s gun pointed at Karli and Sharon’s face was indifferent.
“I don’t do blackmail.” Sharon gripped her gun tighter, raising it quickly to shoot Batroc. Karli panicked and shot Sharon in the process. The gunshots were loud enough to give Sam an idea of where you were all located. You came out from your position, gun gripped in your hand as you stood closer to Sharon. Maybe you could salvage this situation before Sam got here.
“Karli, calm down.” You kept a tight hold on your pistol as you talked. “Look, I get it. You’re scared, but I’m going to need you to put the gun down.”
“I’ll put mine down when you do.” You could hear a slight shake in her voice. You tilted your head at her apologetically.
“You know I can’t do that.” You cast a glance at Sharon who was clutching her stomach, attempting to stop the blood flow. Karli gulped as she raised her gun again.
“Well, I can’t have any loose ends now, can I? You taught me that, Power Broker.” She sneered at a groaning Sharon. A blinding pain began radiating from your shoulder and your hand immediately when to the area. The force of the bullet knocked you off your feet, slamming your head into the ground.
“Shit, what the fuck Karli!” You could make out Sam’s figure coming up from behind Karli. You saw him process Karli standing over one dead body and two injured ones. The wheels began turning and he started speaking.
“So, what’s next, huh? You kill ten this time, then, what, a hundred? Where does it end?” He stepped closer to an agitated Karli. “Please, let me help you.” He kept his voice calm.
“Don’t try and manipulate me.” Karli approached Sam ready to attack. Their fight continued as she pushed Sam backwards.
“I’m not gonna fight you!” She knocked Sam down to the ground, with the swing of a metal bar.
“Stay down!” She shouted at him. You pushed yourself to your knees, adrenaline pumping allowing you to get to Sharon to help hold pressure on her stomach. You watched from over Sharon as Sam rose to his feet, holding his body in a fighting stance.
“I can do this all day.” She launched herself at Sam, throwing his body back into a bunch of cinder blocks. Sam held his shield in front of him, protecting from her punches.
“Fight back!” She shouted as she delivered blow after blow. Sam ducked low, grabbing onto her torso, using his thrusters to send the both of them flying. Karli used the momentum to push off the ground, to bring Sam up to the ceiling. You sat back on your knees, worry lacing your features.
Sam held one of her hands to his chest as she continued throwing the other into his shield. She gripped the top edge of the shield, using it to gain leverage. She pulled her hand away from his chest, tossing his body forward. The shield slipped from Sam’s arm and he laid on the ground, recovering from her attacks. Karli leant down to pick up her gun and you pushed yourself to your feet, ready to tackle her.
She raised her gun, aiming it at a now shieldless Sam. Karli hesitated, staring at Sam before committing to her cause, ready to kill Captain America. You were steadily creeping forward as she debated, but you could see the moment she decided to pull the trigger. Just before she could, a gunshot sounded from behind you. A gasp left your lips as Sam ran to hold Karli.
Your head whipped around to see Sharon leaning against the stack behind her, gun still smoking. Sharon shook her head at you as she holstered her weapon. Sam lifted Karli into his arms and carried her away from the both of you. You stood a good three feet away from Sharon, hand on your gun in the waistband of your jeans.
“When were you going to tell me that you’re the Power Broker.”
“What the hell are you on about now, Y/N.” Your brows raised and your mouth opened in shock.
“I was fucking here when Karli was talking to you, dumbass. Is that why you shot her? ‘Can’t have any loose ends,’ she said you taught her that, Sharon. What the fuck?” Sharon laughed at you.
“You’re imagining things, Y/N.” She rose to her feet and began walking away from you.
“Sharon, don’t fuck with me right now. How long have you been the fucking Power Broker?” You followed her up the tunnel and out to where you could see Sam lecturing a Senator. Sneaking around to a medical bag, you grabbed two pieces of gauze.
“I’m not the Power Broker.” Sharon rolled her eyes at you, leaning against a car behind the ambulances. You were about to say something else when you saw Bucky and Sam approach the two of you. They took in the two of you, an angry look on your face and an annoyed one on hers.
“You’re blocking my light.” Sharon bit out to Sam.
“We got to get you to a hospital.” Sam told Sharon as Bucky walked up to you, pulling your gauze away from your shoulder, checking your bullet wound.
“It’s through and through and you know they aren’t going to listen to you.”
“It’s not the worst thing that’s happened to me all week.” Your eyes glared at Sharon as you spoke. How long has she been doing this behind your back? Someone called for Sam’s attention.
“I think he’s talking to you.” Sharon said, turning away from the newcomer’s view. “Look, I’m sorry for how things ended down there.” Your jaw clenched but you remained silent. “For what it’s worth, the suit looks good on you.” She played a good victim, that’s for sure.
“Alright, can we get out of here, please?” Bucky wrapped his arm around your waist, leading you away from the ambulances and news cameras.
“I didn’t forget my promise either, guys.” Sam nodded at the two of you before turning to do his Cap duties. Bucky remained silent beside you, content with just being in your presence again.
He led you to his apartment, bringing you to the bathroom where he pulled out a first aid kit. He placed it on the countertop, placing his hands on your hips and lifting you onto the granite.
“You’re gonna need to take your shirt off.” He flipped the top of the kit open, searching for what he needed.
“Trying to get me naked already? At least take me to dinner first, Sergeant.” You winked as you peeled your shirt off. Bucky glared at you then quickly looked at your shoulder.
“This is going to hurt, just so you know.” He didn’t give you time to say anything else before starting to clean the hole in your shoulder. You hissed as stings radiated from the wound, cursing under your breath as he blew on it. “Alright, here we go.”  Bucky began stitching, returning your body to its former glory in his eyes. “How’d you managed to get shot?”
“I was attempting to get Karli to drop her gun.” You debated on telling Bucky what you learned about Sharon. “Who do you think the Power Broker is?” You asked gauging his reaction. His attention never wavered from his task. He soon finished with the front side of your shoulder, backing away and telling you to face the mirror. Bucky leaned forward, his hips pressing against your ass as he set to work on the exit wound.
“I have my theories. What about you?” You looked at the granite below, tracing the different lines, not answering for a few minutes.
“Mm, not really.” Was it naive to keep the knowledge to yourself? Probably, but this way you could deal with Sharon on your own and not have to involve Captain America.
“Y/N. You lived there for years, you’re telling me that you never encountered the Power Broker? Never worked for him before, procuring a particular art piece?” You shook your head as you felt him start to wrap your shoulder.
“No, I made sure that all my dealings were as clean as the illegal art trade could be.” Bucky nodded, closing the first aid kit and placing it back under the sink. He walked out of the bathroom and into his kitchen, pulling out a bottle of Advil. He shook two tablets into his metal hand and gave them to you along with a water bottle from the fridge.
“Take these and then go lay down. You need to sleep so your body can heal.” You could tell something was bothering him. You reached out to grasp his metal wrist.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Hmm?”
“Nothing. I’ve just got something to do.” You nodded.
“Do you want me to come with you?” His head shook back and forth in denial.
“No, I need to do this alone. I’ll be back soon. Whenever I get back you better be asleep in that bed.” He pointed at the door to his room. He walked up next to you, wrapping his arm around the front of your waist and giving you a kiss on your temple. “I’ll be back, doll. I’ve just got a few things to wrap up.”
He left soon after, leaving you alone in his barren apartment. It was easy to see that he hadn’t made it his home. Probably feeling like he had no reason to, no ties to anyone here. Makes it easier when you have to bug out in a pinch. You walked into his room, searching for a shirt to wear to bed. Finding one of his shirts hanging in his closet, you pulled it over your head after removing your bra. You took off your jeans, trading them for your sleep shorts from your bag.
You climbed into his bed, waiting for his scent to envelope you, but it never came. Has he ever actually slept in this bed? So you laid there, unable to fall asleep, too many thoughts swirling in your brain. How long has Sharon been the Power Broker? Did it start when you first got to Madripoor? Or was it after you were dusted and she was there alone for five years? None of this changed the fact that she needed to be stopped. The amount of influence she had was too great. Your phone buzzed on the nightstand next to the bed, so you rolled over to pick it up.
Court hearing with the Senators tomorrow at 8 A.M. for you. -Sam
You thought about the possibility of being welcome back into your own country and not being treated like a criminal. Thought of the possibility of going to work for the government again. Of working with Bucky and Sam. Of being with Bucky without having to look over your shoulder all the time, and it made you smile. Your phone buzzing brought you out of your trance.
Also, you and Bucky need to come to my house tomorrow. Sarah’s throwing a party, they got the boat finished so we’re celebrating.
That made your smile grow, you were happy for the first time in a long time. The lock of the front door clicked and you jumped out of the bed, grabbing your knife, ready for an attack. You waited behind the door to Bucky’s bedroom, then swung it open. Your hand came up to the intruder's throat and your mind switched out of attack dog mode when you saw Bucky’s raised brow.
“Is there a reason for this?” His eyes were red and he had tear stains on his cheeks. You flipped your knife back down and placed it on top of your jeans.
“Sorry. Are you okay, James?” He shook his head and you opened your arms to him. He walked into your embrace, before exhaling harshly into your uninjured shoulder.
“No, but I will be.” He backed away for a second, taking in your form. “Didn’t I tell you that you were supposed to be asleep when I got back? Also, is that my shirt?”
“Yes, you did and yes, it is. Do you have an issue with that, Sergeant?” He quickly shook his head back and forth, leaning down to pick you up by your thighs and tossing you onto his bed.
“Not at all, doll. You look better in it than I do.” He smiled at you as he stripped down to his boxers before climbing into bed with you. Bucky tossed his arm over your waist, pulling your body into his. He sighed contentedly, basking in the way you smelled.
“Sam got me a hearing for a pardon.”
“Oh yeah? When’s that?” Bucky’s voice was muffled because he had buried his face in your neck, peppering small pecks there.
“Tomorrow morning at nine. Are you going to come?” Bucky thought on it for a moment, before shaking his head.
“I have one more thing to take care of.” You nodded.
“They got the boat fixed and Sarah invited us to the party. Sam says we have to go, it’s tomorrow too. I don’t actually know what time though he didn’t say.”
“Alright, I’ll pick something up to bring after I finish my thing.” You turned to face him, a smirk plastered on your face.
“So, Sergeant does it for you?” You giggled as he groaned and removed his arm from your waist. His hand came up to run through his hair, scratching his head
“Are we doing this right now, Y/N?” You released a cackle of a laugh, nodding in response. “Oh that’s how you’re gonna play this?” He attacked your sides, beginning to tickle you causing you to react accordingly. Somehow, he managed to end up on top of you, in between your thighs. He stopped suddenly to watch as you writhed and giggled.
“What?” You started getting self-conscious, afraid that there was something on your face. Your hands came up to hide your face from him, but Bucky wasn’t having it. He took your hands away from your face by trapping your wrists beside your head. “What? Why are you doing that?” You questioned, only halfway serious.
“You’re just so pretty.” He leaned forward, his lips meeting yours in a gentle kiss that soon turned into something else. His hands traveled back down to your sides, resting on the bare skin showing from your shirt having ridden up. The temperature difference shocked you enough to make you gasp, giving Bucky the perfect opportunity to slip his tongue in your mouth, escalating the situation.
Your hands came up to the back of his head, holding him in the kiss, guaranteeing that he wasn’t going anywhere. They made their way down his body to rest on his shirtless back. He pushed forward with his hips, the fabric separating the two of you becoming increasingly annoying. Bucky pulled back slightly, nudging you to open your eyes. There was a silent interaction between the two of you in that moment, neither of you was ready for anything intense, so the momentum slowed, but the energy level remained.
Bucky’s hands never left your body that night. Exploring and memorizing every ridge, every stretch mark, every piece of you that made you, you. You drifted your fingers over the scarred skin next to his arm, tiny feather touches that made him hum. Falling asleep in his arms was the easiest thing you ever had to do. And for Bucky, being able to hold you as you flutter asleep was beautiful. He watched as your face relaxed and all the tension left your body, allowing yourself to melt into his embrace. Bucky didn’t like to admit it, but he was a touch starved human being. All those years in and out of cryo and isolation gave his body plenty of reason to crave genuine human touch. And to have a human as charming and annoying as you was a dream come true, his doll.
You woke up before Bucky the next morning. You looked over at his face, tranquility lacing his features, unburdened with no glorious purposes. He was just your James. The two of you had separated sometime during the night, so you scooted closer to his frame. His metal arm is thrown across the pillow behind your head, giving you perfect access to his neck and chest. You glanced at the clock across the room, the hands telling you that it was seven thirty in the morning. If you wake him now, you could have at least thirty-five minutes of bliss, plus some heavy petting if you both were feeling cheeky.
You leaned forward towards his neck, placing tiny kisses from the base of his ear to the puckered skin of his shoulder. You were so focused on your task that you didn’t recognize the change in his breathing pattern.
“Good morning, doll.” If you could melt into the mattress, that would’ve done it. His fucking rasp grated you into a fine powder of a human. You hummed at him, not stopping your kisses, instead climbing up to his jaw and then to his lips. He turned his head and playfully laughed. “Nuh-uh, we’ve got morning breath, ya nasty.” You groaned, retreating from his figure completely.
“Fine, we will brush our teeth together and then come right back to this bed and you will love me, damn it.” Bucky laughed at you as you drug yourself into his bathroom. This was the type of bliss you wanted, and you only wanted to share it with a particular metal armed super soldier. It didn’t take long to brush your teeth, and you pushed on Bucky’s back to get him into the bed quicker. When he did get back into the bed, he was grumbling.
“I don’t know why we’re getting back in bed, we’re already up now.” He smiled as you glared at him. Bucky’s back was leaned against his headboard, so you swung your leg over his thighs, straddling his lower half. His hands rested on your waist as you brought yours up to the sides of his face.
“You frustrate me.” You said with a loving smile and tone before pecking his lips softly as he laughed. “What time do you have to leave for your thing?” You played with the strings of your sleep shorts as he answered you.
“Around eight-thirty, it takes me about thirty minutes to get there and it doesn’t open until nine.”
“I’m gonna be leaving around then, too. What do you wear when you’re going in front of senators to be pardoned for stealing a metal frisbee?” Bucky huffed a laugh, pulling you closer to him wrapping his arms around your back. “I’m thinking a crop top that says “Fuck You,” would that be too obvious?”
“Yeah, that one might be a little on the nose.” Bucky checked your shoulder as he spoke. “Your shoulder looks good, no infection, thanks to me.” He plastered a wide smile on his face afterwards. “Do you know what time Sharon’s hearing is?” You stiffened slightly at the mention of Sharon.
“Uh, no. Sam just told me my time and I haven’t talked to Sharon.” Bucky’s head tilted.
“Everything okay on that front?”
“Not really?” You went back and forth on what to tell him. You didn’t want to give him the extra burden of knowing what Sharon was. “We had a fight a few days ago and neither one of us has cooled off about it, so that’s a bit rocky.”
“Do you want to talk about it?” You shook your head, so Bucky just held you tighter. “Okay, you don’t have to.” He held you for a few more minutes, before backing away. “Alright we need to get ready.” You groaned, slackening your body, making everything about you dead weight.
“No. I don’t wanna.” You sounded like a child.
“You sound like a child.” Oh you whore, get out of my head, butt munch. Bucky said, pushing your body off his. He walked to his closet as you laid spread out like a starfish on his bed. Bucky had already picked out a shirt and put on pants whenever he walked back in and you were still laid on his bed.
“You’re gonna be late.” He leaned over your head, appearing to you upside down. His arms were resting on either side of your face, dropping down he pressed a kiss to your lips. “You’ve got to get up, Y/N.” He went to the other end of the bed, where your feet dangled off the edge. He grabbed your ankles and pulled you, you slid off the bed, taking the comforter with you. “Oh my god, this is pitiful, Y/N. You’re a grown woman!” Bucky shouted at you as he left the room.
The two of you parted ways after you got dressed, but not before Bucky wrapped his arm around the front of your waist and placed a kiss on your temple. You wondered why he did that so much, but you weren’t going to argue with the attention because you loved it. You walked up to the extravagant building that was bustling with people. Everything was white, you always wondered why that was. White represented innocence and America was anything but innocence. You ended up wearing your casual clothes for two reasons. One, you were being pardoned, why couldn’t you be comfortable for that? And two, you had somewhere to go after this and that was just as important as this court meeting to you. Walking into the courtroom, you took in all the faces in the seats. Your name was called immediately, so you approached the podium.
“Ms. Y/L/N, on behalf of the United States Intelligence Community, I’d like to offer you and your family our sincerest apologies.” You wanted to scoff, but you bit your tongue. “You’ve always been an incredible asset to our country. Today, we begin to set things right. We begin to repay some of the debt that is owed to you.” You bowed your head.
“Thank you, Senator. It’s been a long time coming.” You could see the Senator’s jaw clench, not used to being brushed off.
“And we’d like to offer you a full pardon. There might be an opening in your old division. Is that something that you’d be interested in?”
“Actually, Senator. I would like to thank you for that opportunity, but no. I’ll be working with Captain America.” The man’s whole body seemed to twitch.
“You aren’t authorized to make that kind of decision, Ms. Y/L/N.” This time you did scoff.
“Yeah, okay. Well thanks for the pardon.” You tapped the podium twice, leaning to walk away. “This has been great, I really feel like we’ve both said our peace. See ya later, Senator.” You walked out as you heard him calling your name. You pulled your phone out, dialing Bucky’s number.
“Hey doll! How’d court go?” You started walking to where you and Bucky had planned to meet after you got done with your respective tasks.
“Oh great! I’m working with Cap now.” You could almost see Bucky’s face.
“Wow, how’d you manage that?” You smirked.
“I can be very persuasive when I want to be, James.”
“Oh is that so, Y/N?” You could hear his smirk as he spoke. “Maybe you’ll have to be persuasive with me one day.” You laughed.
“James, I don’t have to be persuasive with you.” You caught sight of Bucky walking down the street with a store-bought cake in his hand. You held up your pinky finger wiggling it for emphasis, “I’ve got you wrapped around my finger.”
By the time you got to the marina that docked Paul & Darlene, you were buzzing with excitement. Bucky was giggling at your antics, you were practically bouncing in the passenger seat. As soon as Bucky got out of the car, Cas and AJ latched onto him. He went along with them, playing as if he was going to slam the cake into their faces. You walked past Bucky, hugging everyone who greeted you. Once you reached Sarah, you sat down on the picnic table for a second before taking off again. You stood to the side as you watched Sam take picture after picture with pretty much everyone from town.
Bucky stood next to you, chuckling about everyone’s reaction to Cap being from their hometown. One woman almost knocked Sam flat on his ass when she hugged him, a huge smile stretched over her face. You went back to the table Sarah was at, taking a seat next to her. Suddenly Bucky climbed on top of the table, holding his vibranium arm out with two children dangling off it. He was talking animatedly with his other as he told a story about Sam. You had zoned out just staring at him with the kids.
“You know, this could be you.” Sarah said as she leaned next to your ear.
“What could be?” You made a face at her.
“The kids, the community.” She looked over at Bucky, “That hunk of a man over there.” You slapped her shoulder softly before humming.
“I’ve thought about it, but that’s a two person decision and I don’t think either of us are at a point in our lives to raise another tiny human.” Sarah nodded, her features disbelieving.
“Just don’t let that one get away.” Her finger was pointed at Bucky who was playing with the kids at the edge of the dock. Bucky must’ve felt your gaze on him because he looked up, removing his dark sunglasses to lock eyes with you.
“Oh I don’t plan on it.” You smiled at her. You joined Bucky and Sam as they stood in front of Paul & Darlene, taking in the sunset reflecting on the water. Bucky wrapped his arm around your waist, pressing a kiss to your temple. You definitely don’t plan on it, you thought to yourself as you leaned into his embrace.

➵ nekoma wants proof that their beloved manager and their scheming captain are actually together. for better or worse, your boyfriend is a petty little shit.
wc: 2.5k
warnings: f!reader, the mildest of sexual references
a/n: thank you once again to ren for beta’ing this :( this was written with the in-between in mind, but it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone!
“Oi, Tetsu.”
“Hm?” He leaned down to get his face level with yours – a little closer than it should be.
You shoved him away by his shoulder, glaring at him. “You know, you’ve been doing a terrible job at being subtle.”
He grinned, straightening up and ruffling your hair. “What’s wrong?”
“Are you sure it’s a good idea?” You asked, eyes flicking over to the rest of the team. The two of you were courtside as Kuroo took a quick ‘water break.’ You had a feeling that his increasingly frequent breaks were less about keeping his hydration up, and more about gazing at you with a touch too much affection.
“What, telling them we’re together?” He asked, raising an eyebrow at you.
“Sh!”
He chuckled, resisting the urge to poke your nose. “You think we shouldn’t tell them?” He smirked. “Ever?”
“That’s not what I meant, and you know it.” You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms over your chest. “It’s just that… you know. The gym isn’t exactly neutral ground.”
He snorted. “Neutral ground, huh?”
“You know what I mean,” you huffed.
“Can’t say I do.”
“You’re so mean,” you whined. If you were alone, you might’ve buried your face in his chest. But, you couldn’t really do that now.
“I’m sorry,” he grinned, ruffling your hair yet again. “But we should tell them. And soon.”
You pouted at him, trying to make your eyes as endearing as you could manage.
“Nice try,” he chuckled. “But not gonna work.”
“Can we at least tell them when the coaches are gone?” You frowned petulantly, stuffing your hands in the pockets of your jacket. “That’ll make it a tad less embarrassing.”
“Ashamed to be with me?” Kuroo grinned, raising an eyebrow at you.
“No! I just—”
“I know,” he cooed, his fingers finding their way to the your shoulders and giving them a gentle massage. You would’ve melted into that touch, had you been alone.
“What did I say about being subtle?” You glared, but made no effort to whack his arms away.
“Gotta go,” he smirked, tossing his bottle at you before dashing for the court. You had half a mind to call after him, but you thought better of it.
You conceded, propping yourself against the wall as you glared at your obnoxiously tall boyfriend as subtly as you could.
Practice was over much too quickly. You’d almost wanted it to go on forever, given what you were about to do. You knew you had to tell your kids at some point, but the thought was still frightening. What would they think? Would they disapprove?
Kuroo had said it was better to tell them sooner rather than later, and you’d begrudgingly agreed. It’d be worse if you just kept putting it off, and you were sure your kids would feel like that was a betrayal.
But the logic of it didn’t stop you from being any less nervous.
So when everyone was packing up and the coaches had made their exit, Kuroo ambled over to you with a concerned look on his face.
“You sure you’re okay to tell them tonight?” Kuroo asked, tilting his head at you.
He was far too good at reading your emotions. Perceptive bastard.
You nodded, casting your eyes to your kids. “Yeah.”
“We don’t have to tell them if you don’t want to,” he murmured, zipping up his bag. “At least, not here.”
“It’s okay,” you smiled, trying to quell the hammering in your chest. “It’s like ripping the bandaid off, right?”
Kuroo snorted. “Really? That’s what you’re going to equate our relationship to?”
“Not our relationship, but—”
He held back a cackle as he stood up, turning to face the rest of the team.
“Everyone!”
The other boys turned to look at him, expressions ranging from confusion to annoyance.
“So,” Kuroo said, slinging an arm around your shoulder. You took a deep breath as you tried to look as unbothered as possible. “We have some important news for you.”
“You’ve actually become a competent captain?” Yaku snorted.
“Great guess, but no,” Kuroo grinned, looking at you. “We… are finally together.”
“Huh?” Lev tilted his head to the side, looking between the two of you. “Together?”
“Yes,” Kuroo nodded slowly. “Together… romantically.”
“You’re dating?” Inuoka blinked, looking between the two of you.
Kuroo resisted the urge to sigh. “Yes. We’re dating.”
“No way,” Yaku shook his head. “Nuh uh. No way you grew balls and asked her out.”
“Who said I asked her out?” Kuroo gasped, looking down at you.
“She’s too good for you,” Kenma shrugged. Some nods rippled through the rest of the team, the general consensus being one of agreement. You bit back a laugh. That, at least, made you feel a little less nervous.
Kuroo stared at him for a moment, looking between his once-trusted childhood friend and you.
“Then how do you explain this?” Kuroo asked, gesturing between the two of you, pointing specifically to the arm wrapped around your shoulders.
“Explain what?” Lev asked, tilting his head at the two of you.
“Well, this is… a thing couples do,” Kuroo murmured, bewilderment working its way into his expression.
“Not necessarily,” Lev piped up. “I put my arm around her all the time!”
“Trust me, I know,” Kuroo seethed, pulling you a little closer.
You bit the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from smiling too widely. Kuroo had never said that Lev’s affection towards you was a problem, but you had caught your boyfriend pouting in your general direction whenever the younger boy got a little bit too close.
“So… you don’t believe me at all?” Kuroo frowned, looking between all the faces in front of him.
“Nuh uh.” Several of the boys shook their heads.
“But… why would we both be standing here, telling you all that we’re dating?” Kuroo asked, trying to grasp at some logical argument. You could tell that his frustration was already growing. You, on the other hand, were having a great time.
“You offered to pay her five thousand yen,” Yamamoto shrugged. “Only scenario that makes sense.”
“She’s right here, you know.” Kuroo jerked his head at you.
“Did he offer to pay you, like, five thousand yen or something?” Yamamoto asked, looking you dead in the eye.
“Yes.” You were nervous – but teasing Kuroo seemed like the perfect outlet.
Kuroo’s head whipped around to look at you, aghast.
You grinned up at him.
“Sorry,” Yaku shrugged, taking a large swig of water. “We’re not just going to believe you without proof.”
“Oh?” Kuroo raised an eyebrow, a grin spreading across his face. “So you want proof, then?”
The team looked amongst themselves, nodding. “Yeah, actually. We do.”
“I see,” Kuroo hummed, turning to face you. You complied, a small knot of anxiety tightening in your stomach. What was he planning to do?
You caught a glimpse of Kenma’s face. Anticipatory discomfort. Oh, no.
Kuroo’s hands came up to cup your face, as they had many times this month. But, you trusted him; he wouldn’t do anything to make you comfortable. At least, not without checking with you first.
He leant in, his breath tickling your ear. “Can I?”
You nodded, a smile tugging at your lips. You knew the team was watching with rapt attention. And you knew that your boyfriend could be a petty little shit.
His lips met yours as he moved his hands to your waist, holding you flush against his body. Your arms found their way around his neck instinctively as you stood on your tiptoes, leaning against him for balance.
Oh.
He meant business.
He hummed, parting your lips with his. Of course he wouldn’t just go for a chaste peck. But, you’d let him get away with it this time.
Your face was burning; you were barely used to him touching you like this in private, let alone in front of your entire team. But you weren’t about to stop him. Your kids said they wanted proof, after all.
You weren’t sure who started it. But someone started screeching.
You could hear Lev screaming, shouting something about ‘betrayal.’ Yamamoto was full-on hollering, the sound ringing through the gym. Was the screeching… Fukunaga, then?
“Alright, that’s enough!” Yaku bellowed, grabbing Kuroo by the collar and yanking him away from you. Kuroo cackled as he stumbled back, arms still reaching out for you.
“You are disgusting,” Yaku cawed, looking between the two of you.
“You said you wanted proof!” Kuroo snickered, hands on his knees as he keeled over.
“Yeah, proof!” Yamamoto shouted. “Not a demonstration.”
“You’re just jealous,” Kuroo snorted, stumbling towards you. You reached out for him, planting your hands on his shoulders.
“Wait, wait, wait,” Inuoka held up a hand, looking between the two of you with wide eyes. “How long has this been going on?”
“Yeah!” Yaku huffed, hands on his hips. “How long have you been keeping this from us?”
“None of your business,” Kuroo grinned, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you into his chest. You laughed, letting yourself fall against him.
“They’ve been dating for about a month,” Kenma murmured, hands dug deep in his pockets. If he felt any remorse for outing you two like that, he didn’t show it.
“A month?” Various sounds of indignation rose up in a racket, and you knew that you had a lot to answer for.
“You!” Yaku gasped, pointing a finger at you. “You’re complicit in this!”
“Sorry,” you giggled, slipping your arms around Kuroo’s waist. Even you had to admit that the look of absolute betrayal on the boys’ faces was pretty priceless.
“Aren’t you happy for us?” Kuroo snorted, looking between the team. “Your beloved manager and your captain—”
“Of course we are,” Kai chuckled, raising a hand. “We’re just surprised.”
“I, for one, thought you had better taste,” Yaku grumbled, jabbing a finger at you.
“Look, dumbass—”
“If you’re dating him out of pity, blink twice,” Yamamoto asked, looking you straight in the eye.
“Don’t you dare,” Kuroo huffed, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
Another round of yells from your kids, mostly consisting of ‘gross!’ and ‘get a room!’
You elbowed Kuroo in the stomach swiftly before he could say ‘oh, we intend to.’
As Kuroo continued to gloat about his relationship to a wailing Yamamoto, you began apologising profusely to Lev and Yaku.
Kai, bless his heart, was doing his best to help you contain the chaos, but to no avail.
Kenma had very decidedly kept himself out of it, instead absorbing himself in whatever game he was playing on his phone.
Poor Inuoka still looked confused, but Shibayama was so red in the face that he had to be cognizant of what was going on.
Fukunaga and Teshiro just watched on, one amused and the other bewildered.
Somehow, after all that mayhem, you managed to calm the racket down. One by one, everyone began to make their way home.
You personally wanted to get into the warmth of a home as soon as possible, cold as a winter night in Tokyo could be.
As usual, you and Kuroo walked with Kenma. The only difference these days was that now you and Kuroo walked hand in hand. Kenma had been the first person to find out about your relationship, and much to your relief, it hadn’t changed how he interacted with the two of you.
If anything, he seemed quietly grateful that it gave him an opportunity to rag on Kuroo.
“That was childish of you,” Kenma sighed, his hands dug in his pockets as the three of you trudged down the street.
“They were insulting my honour,” Kuroo grinned, placing a hand to his chest. The other was wrapped firmly around one of yours.
Kenma gave him that look, the one that’d make anyone crumple up and feel like a total idiot. But Kuroo was undeterred, that childish grin of his growing bigger.
“What was I supposed to do? Let them tell me that my girlfriend is too good for me?”
“Your girlfriend is too good for you.”
“Thank you, Kenma,” you beamed, peeking around your boyfriend to catch a glimpse of the second year.
“The disrespect!” Kuroo scoffed. “To think, I put so much time and effort into being a good captain, and this is–”
“Goodnight,” Kenma cut in, waving a hand at the two of you. You looked over to see that you’d arrived at his house without even noticing. Kenma scuttled towards his front door, hunched over like a little gremlin with his hands stuffed in his pockets.
“Don’t stay up too late!” Kuroo called after him. “And make sure you eat a good dinner!”
Kenma shot him a dithering look, but Kuroo remained undeterred.
“And don’t play video games after ten! It’s bad for your eyes!”
Kenma said nothing as he shut his front door with a resounding ‘thud.’
You raised an eyebrow at your boyfriend, who turned to you with a grin.
“He’ll thank me one day.”
“You sure?” You smiled.
“He may not say it,” Kuroo tsked, “but I know he’s grateful deep down.”
You rolled your eyes at him, but he knew you didn’t mean it. He gave your hand a squeeze as he stepped forward.
“Alright, let’s get you home,” he sighed, his breath billowing in a little cloud in front of him.
“Wait,” you said, tugging on his hand.
“Hm?”
“I’ve got a question.”
“Huh?” He tilted his head at you, his nose a little red and shiny from the cold.
“Can I come over?” You hummed, giving his hand a squeeze.
Kuroo gazed at you for a moment, his heart thrumming in his chest. It wasn’t a strange question, or one that should’ve given him reason to pause. But he still wasn’t used to this sort of thing. To you asking to hang out with him, all of your feelings out in the open. He got to spend time with you without having to hold things so close to his chest that it hurt. You could do everything together, now; talk, laugh, tease, kiss. And somehow, that was all wrapped up in one little question.
“You just want to see my grandma,” he grinned. Sure, he felt all that sentimentality, but he wasn’t about to say it.
“Oh, of course,” you nodded. “And don’t forget the dog.”
He looked at you, your cheeks bitten red by the cold on this early December evening, your eyes shining with a pure and wholesome joy. The warmth of your hand was tucked safely in his, your bodies pressed together as you walked down the street. There was no strange tension between you anymore. No fear that either of you might ruin this precious thing you shared.
“I guess I can live with that.” He smiled, giving your hand a squeeze.
He’s just happy. Content. Maybe even blissful.
And for the second time in the past five minutes, Kuroo found himself at the mercy of his own fondness. He gazed at you, the softest of smiles on his face.
He really was lucky to have you.
“Don’t look at me like that,” you whined, pressing your face against his arm in an attempt to hide it.
“Like what?”
“Like… Like…” You grasped at the words, trying to think of anything that wasn’t some form of ‘like you love me.’ You gave up pretty quickly. “Like that!”
You may not have said those words, but Kuroo knew you well enough to glean what you really meant.
“I’m your boyfriend!” He chuckled, leaning back and tucking an arm around your waist. “What am I supposed to do?”
“I don’t know,” you whined, covering your face with your gloved hands. “It’s just… you… you’re embarrassing me!”
“I’m sorry,” Kuroo laughed, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. God, you really were too cute. “Let’s go home.”

When one feels like shit, one writes things to feel better :)
This is based on a very short headcanon I had a little while ago that I've decided to make into a little fic. I hope you enjoy.
Featuring: Mainly Pro Hero Red Riot. Also includes Pro Heroes Dynamight, Chargebolt, Earphone Jack, and Pinky
Y/N: They/Them (Y/H/N: Your Hero Name)
Warnings: Kidnapping (well, not kidnapping exactly, adultnapping), restrained, minor physical injuries, drugged into unconsciousness
HAPPY ENDING THOUGH, I PROMISE!
Summary: You've been captured by villains. Wonderful, right, just how you wanted your Friday to go. Your quirk isn't working thanks to them pumping you full of suppressant drugs. You were actually having a hard time remembering how you were abducted. You're only able to remember being on patrol and something smelling off before passing out. Now, thanks to the drugs, you were having a hard time remaining conscious in this...basement? Warehouse or it could be a factory... Someone would find you, your friends were perfectly capable. You just hoped it'd be before anything worse happened.
When you didn't report in at the specified time and weren't answering their calls, the rest of the heroes at the Alliance Agency grew concerned. Jiro was already pulling up your location on your cell phone while Kaminari searched for the tracker in your suit.
Unfortunately, they both ended up at the same location, a dumpster behind an apartment complex, you were nowhere to be found.
Bakugo and Kirishima, who were also concerned about your whereabouts, took a different approach since neither was too talented at the tech side of things.
Kirishima canvases the immediate area around your phone and tracker, using his easy-going smile and charming personality to coax information out of anyone who was willing to talk to him in the area. Meanwhile, Bakugo played to his own strengths and threatened the low lives of the area.
"Someone said they noticed two guys, 'helping' someone in a hero suit down the street earlier. The description of the person and suit match Y/N." Kirishima could see lights in a few of the windows flickering but no signs of people moving about in the apartments above. He couldn't help but wonder if you were in one of them.
He got a grunt of a response from Bakugo through his earpiece. "Yeah, well, I just persuaded some scum into giving up an abandoned factory location about 10 blocks from here. Says he doesn't know what they're doin' but he's seen people goin' in and out all the time. Seems odd since it's abandoned."
The location pinged on Kirishima's phone. "I'm six blocks away. Meet you there."
The building in question looked like it hadn't been in operation for at least a decade when he arrived but fresh tire tracks him something was definitely going on. Not to mention the building had electricity running to it judging by the lights he could see.
When Bakugo showed up minutes later they decided to enter through a southern entrance that Ashido had pointed out after pulling up blueprints at HQ.
"Most of the electrical usage is centered in that location." She explained, "If you're going to find anything useful, I'm betting it'll be there. Chargebolt and Earphone Jack will meet you as soon as they're done collecting security footage from the suspected abduction sight."
Bakugo scoffed. They were Dynamight and Red Riot, they didn't need any damn backup.
Kirishima broke the lock on the door with a sharp tug rather than letting Bakugo shoot it off with an explosion. "You take downstairs and I'll go up. We stay on coms." Kirishima nodded and started his descent.
There was a single guard with a gun resting on his knee and headphones in his ears making Kirishima's job too easy. Not even bothering to harden his skin, he whacked the back of the guy's head and he crumpled to the floor unconscious.
"Took out two guards and a scientist. Oh, there's a lab up here too."
"One guard taken out. Moving into another room now."
The metal door was locked up tight and the guard had a surprising lack of keys on their person. They could have been close by but Kirishima was impatient. He was aware this would be loud but at least it was efficient.
He hardened an arm and with one, two, slices of his hand diving into the metal he was able to create a hole... and garner attention. A knife broke across his hand and two gunshots were fired from inside the room, doing nothing to him.
"Gonna have to do better than that!" He roared with laughter.
Kirishima ripped the metal wide and stepped through. He wasted no time, grabbing the gun point-blank, bending the barrel upward with a devilish grin before turning on the man with two daggers. A green substance ran off his skin and down onto the blades. It burned slightly when they slashed at him but Kirishima was used to Ashido's acid by now that this was practically child's play!
The other guy came at him with an orange beam of light right from his eyes that managed to break through a bit of his hardened skin. He could feel blood start to trickle down from his forehead. "Now, we're getting somewhere!"
Using his body weight, Kirishima shoved the man with the daggers down to the ground, disarming him quickly, and used his own blades to live into his friend's leg. He watched as the acid melted the fabric and left black burns on the man's skin, nasty stuff. He tired another beam in retaliation but Kirishima dodged it this time.
"I'd love to keep playing around but I'm lookin' for someone." He used one hand to hoist the man up and another to shield his eyes. Instantly, Kirishima's hand started to burn but he held steady. "Do you know where Y/H/N is?" The beam pulsed stronger, "Fine. If you won't help me then I have no use for you." He sat him back on the ground, a harden fisted to the back of the head had him good and knocked out.
"What about you?" Kirishima asked, returning his focus to the dagger man, "Do you know where they are? Your operation is a bust, the least you can do is tell me where my friend is. I might even put in a good word for you if ya do."
He grabbed a discarded metal pipe and the man must have taken it as a threat because he lifted shaky hands that were no longer coated in green. "B-back there with the others."
"Others? Other victims or others of you?"
"Subjects, we have other subjects!"
Rage pulsed in Kirishima's veins but he kept a lid on it. "Right then. Thanks." He bent the pipe around the man's hands and another around his ankles before speaking over the coms again.
"Y/N isn't the only victim. Dynamight, get down here."
He was running to the back of the room when he saw you along with five others. Your wrists had been bound by metal shackles suspended from a beam high on the wall that the tips of your toes were just brushing the concrete floor. You were slumped forward with IVs poked into both arms.
"Y/N?" He calmly approached but you didn't answer. You just hung there like a rag doll.
Kirishima lifted your head in his hands and saw a few cuts on your face that had dried blood still surrounding them but he breathed a sigh of relief when he felt the steady drumming of your heart, shallow, but there. You were alive and that was all he cared about.
"Okay. Gonna stop whatever the hell these are..." He flipped switches on the IVs and continued to talk out loud about his process. "Then gotta get 'em outta you..."
With surprisingly delicate fingers, he pulled the needles from your arms. Stopping the small pools of blood with a few pieces of gauze and tape that someone had been so kind to leave behind.
He then wrapped his left arm snuggly around your body. Holding you against him in a way he hoped didn't hurt you any more than you already were. With his right hand, Kirishima reached up to the shackles just as you started to stir awake.
One side of him was so completely soft and caring, the other hard and brutal, snapping the manacles in a powerful grip and you fell against him completely.
"Whadda hero." His ears glowed pink from the compliment.
"I'm really glad I got you back."
A/N: I know it isn't my best writing by any means but I had to do something to distract myself. Hope you're all doing well <3

Echos In The Caverns
word count: 2,096
summary: while exploring, tubbo made an incredible discovery, and was desperate to show his best friend in grand-tubbo-fashion! however, that was just the one thing that led them to discover a large problem.
if you couldn’t tell, this fic was heavily inspired by the minecraft caves and cliffs update, i think it turned out nicely :D also if you tag this as ship i will personally hunt you down and whack you with my block button
warning: this is a sfw tickle fic! don’t read if that makes you uncomfortable :]
Tubbo_: TOMMY
Tubbo_: TOMMY ARE YOU THERE
Tommyinnit: what
Tubbo_: wheree are u
Tommyinnit: i’m at my house
Tommyinnit: why
Tubbo_: can yoyou come to your hotel
Tubbo_: and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty!!!!!
Tommyinnit: why??
Tubbo_: you’ll see!!!
…What?
Tommy always knew that Tubbo tended to be quite the… holder of schemes. Good schemes? Maybe. Bad schemes? Also maybe. It really just depended on the day. It wasn’t irregular of him to not say what his plans were either, the young boy was often one for surprises.
Tommy looked down at the clothes he was currently wearing. A red and white baseball shirt and some khakis, also known as what he wore pretty much everyday. He had plenty of other shirts and pants that looked similar, (if not, the exact same) so it would be fine if he got just one outfit a little wet.
The young boy headed out of his small residence, which wasn’t at all far from the hotel at all. He walked down the prime path, entering the gate and heading for the front of the hotel, only to see no one there.
“Tubbo? Where are ya, bee boy?” He mumbled under his breath, looking for his best friend. He wandered around to the back… maybe he was there?
And there he was.
Tubbo had his back turned, placing a line of redstone dust along the ground. He stood up, wiping the dust off of his hands, then turned around with a grin.
“Tommy!!” He ran over to his best friend, engulfing the other in a tight hug.
“Tubbo! You’re gonna get fuckin’ redstone dust all over me.” He grumbled, though a smile was on his face. He could feel Tubbo take his hands, guiding him over and walking the two of them next to a lever that wasn’t there the last time Tommy was here.
“Okay, so earlier, I decided to dig straight down, right at this spot.”
“Idiot.” Tommy poked fun at his best friend.
“I thought it would be a bad idea too, but let me finish. Anyways, I just wanted to do it because, y’know, I wanted to see where it would take me! And man, I discovered something incredible, Tommy.” Tubbo turned around leaning down a flipping the switch of the lever.
“So that’s what you’re going to be showing me, right?” Tommy crossed his arms.
“Mhm!” The older of the two stood back up, looking at Tommy with excitement in his eyes. “Just be sure to be prepared for the drop!”
“…The drop? Wh-”
Before Tommy could finish, he heard the sound of pistons and felt the ground disappear underneath him. Before he knew it, the two of them were falling. It was pitch black, and the two of them were falling and screaming. They let out two different screams, Tubbo’s out of thrill and adrenaline and Tommy’s out of pure fear.
It took about ten seconds of falling and screaming for them to finally see light, but Tommy was too terrified to open his eyes. Instead, he was met with the chilling feeling of cold water. Panicked, he opened his eyes as much as he could and swam to the surface, gasping for air.
“TUBBO! WHAT THE FUCK?!” He yelled at the other, who had also risen from the surface. “What the fuck was that for?! You can’t just make us drop like that with no warning, I thought we were gonna die! I-“
“Oh, quit whining and swim to the shore!” Tubbo brushed him off. Tommy huffed, but obeyed, throwing his arms in front of him to propel him forward. Tubbo got to the shore first, and pulled him out of the water.
“Tubbo, why the fuck did you think that was a good idea?!”
“Tommy- Tommy, calm down. One, I would never kill you on purpose. And two, this was the easiest and quickest way down! Anyways, look behind you. Turn around.” Tubbo said to him. Tommy rolled his eyes and turned, expecting nothing grand, but his eyes widened in shock.
It was the most incredible thing he had ever seen.
A roaring waterfall poured water into the lake they had just dropped into, and sides of the waterfall were lined with purple gemstones. Ores lined the stone walls and lush moss covered the ceiling, draping down. Small, jagged rocks on the ceiling were covered by moss, and it looked like someone, likely Tubbo, had placed torches and lanterns around the area.
“What… What is this?” Tommy asked, jaw agape.
“What you’re looking at is the coolest cave the two of us will ever lay eyes upon.” Tubbo grinned, placing a hand on Tommy’s wet shoulder.
“…Holy shit, Tubbo! This is fucking incredible! A-And you found this just through digging down?!”
“Yep! Now come on, there’s tons of cool things here that you gotta see!” The ram hybrid grabbed Tommy’s hand, running around the lake and dragging him along.
Tommy honestly wasn’t sure if he had ever seen anything this amazing before. He got to climb hills of stone and ore, swim in the grand lake, and he and Tubbo even found an axolotl! They took it in a bucket with water, and since it was pink, they agreed on the name of “Technoblade Jr.”
Eventually though, all good things had to come to an end. The torches wouldn’t fend off monsters forever, so the two of them decided it was best to go back to the surface. Tubbo said that he had dug out a staircase through the stone that led to the surface, somewhere near Eret’s castle.
There was only one small problem. They couldn’t find it.
“I-It should be this way!”
“Tubbo, we’ve been down here for, like- for fuckin’ ever!”
“Okay, we’ve been here for a few hours at the most. And majority of that isn’t even us searching for the stairs.” Tubbo rolled his eyes.
Tommy sighed as he and Tubbo only found another dead end, a wall covered in vines and moss. “Face it, Tubbo. We’re lost. We’re fuckin’ lost, and we’re going to have to spend the night here.” He set a torch on the wall, taking a moment to sit down.
“Oh, don’t say that, Tommy!” His friend sat down next to him on the ground. Tommy crossed his arms, looking away and making Tubbo frown. “Look, we can always make a new staircase! It’ll take a while, but we can do it!” He nudged Tommy lightly with his elbow, but only got more of the silent treatment.
Tubbo huffed in annoyance. Tommy tended to get silent when things didn’t go his way, which was understandable. But it would get frustrating to Tubbo sometimes, he wouldn’t lie. And what’s worse was that he could clearly tell that Tommy was upset, and he wasn’t saying anything about it. He lightly leaned against Tommy’s shoulder, the silence being oddly comforting for a moment.
Tubbo stood up, leaving Tommy to mope by himself. He had to admit, this was a cool place to be lost in. The sights were incredible, and there were so many things he hadn’t found in caves before. Glowing squids, axolotls, crystals, cave vines…
Cave vines.
That’s it! He knew exactly what would cheer Tommy up! Why didn’t he think of this sooner?
Tubbo walked towards the longest vine he could find that draped from the stone ceiling, standing on his toes to pull it down and grinning as the vine snapped in two. He threaded the vine through his fingers, glad to find that it wasn’t rough and didn’t have anything sharp on it. He sat down next to Tommy, holding the vine in his hands.
“Tommy…” He leaned towards his friend, still not getting a response. Quietly, he draped the vine around Tommy’s neck. The other noticed, but said nothing. That is, not until his shoulders scrunched up when he felt Tubbo pull the vine across his neck.
“Tubbo-” He said softly, slamming his lips shut afterwards.
“What’s up, Tommy?” He asked, lightly scratching the other’s neck with his fingers.
“Where’s that smile, big man?” Tubbo used his other hand to poke his friend in the side a couple of times, grinning as he saw a smile start to form at the corner of Tommy’s lips.
“Tuhubbo, quihit it!” He giggled, starting to move away before Tubbo wrapped an arm around him and pulled him close, trapping him in a half-hug.
“There we go!” Tubbo scribbled his fingers across Tommy’s stomach, making the young boy squeal and bury his head into Tubbo’s shoulder as an attempt to hide his face. Tommy laughed, trying to grab at Tubbo’s hands.
“Don’t even try to fight back, mister.” He rolled his eyes. “I wanna make sure that you keep smiling! These caves are no place to be sad!”
“TuHUHUB- *snrk* TUHUBBO! Dohohon’t!” Tommy snorted, eventually grabbing onto one of Tubbo’s wrists. Tubbo brought his other hand back to drill his fingers back into Tommy’s stomach, the other laughing and eventually grabbing onto Tubbo’s other wrist. Both of them grinned as residual laughter spilled out of Tommy’s mouth.
“You’re so fuckin’ mean.” Tommy huffed out, unable to fight a grin.
“Oh, come on, you were sad! What else am I supposed to do, not what I do whenever you’re sad?” Tubbo rolled his eyes, smirking. “Besides, you didn’t fight back. We know you liked it.”
Tommy blinked, feeling his cheeks warm up, then narrowed his eyes. “Oh, you’re asking for it.” He growled, holding the other’s hands above his head.
Tubbo squeaked, already starting to squirm. “Wahait, no! Nonono, dohon’t!” He said, unable to stop giggles from coming out from hiding.
“Aww, what’s wrong, Tubbo? Are you scared? Scared of just a little tiny bit of tickling?” Tommy smirked, holding his wrists firmly and letting go, shooting his hands into his friend’s underarms. Tubbo immediately broke, instantly leaning towards the ground to try and get away.
“NoHOHO- gehehehet oHOHOut of thehehere!” Tubbo giggled, twisting his body to try and push off Tommy’s hands.
“You did the exact same to me! It’s only natural to expect revenge!” Tommy scribbled more rapidly, grinning as the other squealed and started to kick his legs. “Wow, Tubbo. Sometimes, I honestly forget how fuckin’ ticklish you are. And then I rediscover it for myself, and I remember just how ballistic you go every time!”
“ShUHUT UHUhup, yohou dihiHIhick!” The ram hybrid yelled through giggles.
“Hey! Well that’s just rude now, isn’t it? Guess you need to learn a lesson, huh?” Tommy asked, chuckling as Tubbo rapidly shook his head. Tommy started to squeeze up and down his thighs, and the other squealed, throwing his head back and hugging himself.
“TOHOhoHOmMY!! NohohoHOHO!!”
“Oh, you brought this onto yourself, don’t even try to “Tommy, no” me!” Tommy played around, trying to see what would work back. Squeezing the back of Tubbo’s thighs made him squeak, squeezing rapidly up and down made him squeal, and raking nails up and down the inner thighs made him cackle.
“TOHOHOMMY!! PleheHEAHase, I- StohoHOhop!!” Tubbo rocked back and forth.
“Hmmm… alright.” Tommy said after a moment of thinking, drawing his hands back.
“Wahait, really?” A giggly Tubbo was quite surprised, starting to sit up.
“…No.” Tommy smirked, suddenly pushing the other’s shirt up, leaning down, and blowing a raspberry on his bare stomach. Tubbo shrieked, retreating back to the ground instantaneously.
“NOHOHOHO- AHAHAHAHA!!! TOHOHOHOMMEHEY!!!” Tubbo squirmed around, trying to get away as Tommy now scribbled and clawed as his stomach with all ten fingers. His laughter echoed throughout the caves, filling Tommy with glee.
“Come on, you deserve this for all of the times you got back at me!” His friend grinned, leaning down to blow another raspberry right onto Tubbo’s belly button. The ram’s laughter went silent momentarily, then came back in the form of cackles with hiccups mixed in. Tommy stopped, laughing softly and ruffling Tubbo’s hair.
“You feeling better, big man?” Tubbo asked with a stupidly large grin on his face.
“Much better.” Tommy grinned, standing up and extending a hand towards his friend, helping him off of the ground. “Now, come on, grab your pickaxe. That staircase isn’t gonna build itself now, innit?”
Tubbo nodded, pulling out a pickaxe and starting to help Tommy dig out a path to the surface. He looked behind him one last time, deciding that he needed to come back here again sometime with Tommy, and maybe some other friends.
After all, it’s good to go back to places that bring you happy memories, right?

My God if I could only say, I'm holding every breath for you
Description: Patton Hart has been pining for his best friend's twin brother and his boyfriends for as long as he can remember. Word Count: 3067 Ships: Patton/Remus/Janus/Virgil, background Logince, established Remus/Janus/Virgil Warnings: Remus being Remus, twins squabbling AO3 This is a gift fic for @sunshineandteddybears for the @sanderssidesgiftxchange. The “summer romance” piece kinda got away from me, but this is definitely found family! I hope you enjoy!
Patton was wiping down the counters, about 15 minutes after closing, sunset shining through the windows as he hummed along to the radio, a sense of peace radiating through the store.
Of course, that’s when chaos erupted.
“Pattycakes, you gotta save me!” Remus cried as he threw the door open so roughly the windchimes actually smacked against the window above the door before falling back down and jingling merrily to announce his presence. He ran behind the counter with no hesitation, gripping onto Patton’s waist. (Patton only shivered because of the burst of adrenaline. That was the only reason. No other possibilities. Nope.) Remus angled them both towards the doorway just as Roman came bursting in with the same amount of urgency, fire in his eyes and shirt dripping wet and seemingly tinted a particularly garish shade of greenish-brown.
“Remus, you can’t hide behind Patton forever, you bastard!” he seethed, and Logan, Janus, and Virgil came through the door behind him, much more calm, almost to the point where Patton would call them bemused. Logan took a seat at one of the small tables along the wall, pulling out his phone with a very evident intention to simply wait the whole debacle out, while Janus and Virgil both leaned up against the glass case in front of Patton. “Get out here and face me, you coward!” Roman bellowed again, clearly not giving up anytime soon.
Patton grabbed an empty paper towel roll from next to him and turned at the waist to whack Remus in the head with it, “Remus you cannot use me as a human shield, go answer for your crimes.” “Kinky. I’d much rather have you issue my punishment,” Remus joked with an eyebrow wiggle, then cackled when Patton made a strangled noise and shoved him back to the other side of the counter. However, as soon as he was in range, Roman grabbed hold of him and pulled him into a headlock and his laughter turned swiftly into a shriek of “Oh shit!”
They were 12 years old, tearing through the woods in a dual-friend-group game of manhunt the summer before 7th grade. Virgil was hot on everyone’s heels and adrenaline was coursing through their veins. Patton leapt over a log and turned a corner, hunting for a good place to hide.
He heard a curse of “Oh shit!” echo through the woods before the sound of three branches breaking in succession, a huge crash, and a subsequent groan. He quickly pivoted and went sprinting back towards the house, and the sound, easily finding Remus splayed across the forest floor even in the dim light of the moon.
“Why would you climb a tree, silly goose? Don’t you know the branches are weak that high? Scared me half to death!” he chided as he fell to his knees beside him, already pulling band-aids out of his wallet in his pocket.
Remus grinned impishly up at him, and Patton felt his breath catch in his throat, fumbling with the wallet briefly in a way he prayed the other boy didn’t notice. “What’s a lil fear in the face of a bunch of excitement, Patty?” he crooned, and Patton shoved a handful of band-aids at him with little delicacy in his haste to move past the tease. “Besides, I have the best nurse in the world to patch me up when my fun does go south, apparently.”
Patton flushed and turned away, positive Remus could tell even in the weak light, but he couldn’t keep the earnestness out of his voice, “I’ll always patch you up, Ree. Promise.”
Remus didn’t get a chance to respond before Virgil burst through the bushes and tapped them both on the shoulder to get them out and a loud, extended debate began about the validity of the “injury time out”.
Janus leaned on the counter in front of Patton, jolting him out of his reverie. He pointed at the menu, with three shiny new additions at the bottom, “You finally manage to find a flavor sweeter than you, sugar?”
Virgil shoved him out of the way with an eye roll and a fond grin, thankfully distracting from how Patton felt his cheeks would melt the freezers. “He can’t stop flirting even for two seconds, I swear.”
Janus gasped dramatically, swooning against the counter and batting his eyes at Virgil like a starlet in an old black and white, “Maybe if you and Remus gave me the attention I deserve I wouldn’t need to hunt it down in beautiful, endearing ice cream shop owners.”
Remus snorted despite the way he was currently trying to claw his way out of his brother’s hold while being noogied like they were still teenagers and not fully grown and employed adults, “We could give you all the attention in the world, Janny, it would never stop you from flirting with Patton.”
Janus sniffed derisively at them, then cocked his head to the side as the song changed and smiled softly, “Hey, I know this song.”
Patton smiled brightly back, “Yeah of course, have it on all the playlists for the shop!”
“Simp!” Remus called over just as brightly, and Patton glared back at him, assuming it was aimed at him.
“Ok, you look miserable,” Janus said, making Patton jump from where he was staring down at his water glass watching the liquid swirl around the glass as he moved it in little circles and maybe lamenting his singledom a little bit in the face of a dance floor full of sappy teenagers in fancy clothes enjoying the crisp June night and each other as their last hurrah before graduation.
Patton plastered on a smile, “Oh Jan, I am perfectly hap-”
Janus arched a brow at him, tsking lightly and just loud enough for Patton to hear and stop speaking. “Don’t try to lie to me, I know what you look like when you are actually happy, Patton. And also you’re a god-awful liar.”
“...yeah ok. I’m a little bit lonely, maybe, with Ro and Lo gettin their dance on for the romantic stuff. But I’m not mad, they’re in love, and I told them to go hang on their own. We’ll hang out at the beach house after!” He couldn’t help but glance at the dance floor, where Logan was leading Roman in a waltz that was perfectly on time with the music, lost in their own little world.
“Well Ree and V bailed for the beach early. Not exactly their style of music or dancing, or my vibe to make them do something they don’t enjoy just to get my feet stepped on. Why don’t we be miserable together?” The song changed, to a song with a more Latin-inspired beat that Patton knew only one of every 10 words to, and Janus smirked, “Maybe you and I can even make the most of it and I can score a salsa partner.” Janus ended his proposition with an exaggerated wink and bow, and Patton took his offered hand with a genuine grin.
Janus didn’t miss a beat, switching eye contact to Roman on a dime, “Hey, did you know Remus was the one who’s been screwing with your guitar’s tuning?”
“NONONO HE’S LYING,” Remus cried as Roman tightened his hold and doubled down on his attack, this time poking at his ribs and making Remus shriek in laughter.
As Janus watched Roman wrestle Remus down to the floor of the shop, clearly satisfied with the reaction he managed to get, Virgil nudged him over with his hip to take his place leaning across the counter and whisper conspiratorially, “I bet it was actually Logan. Bastard can get away with murder, I just know it.”
Patton couldn’t help but giggle, with Virgil’s playful smile and dancing eyes across from him, so open and trusting in a way he never was unless it was just the group of them. He smirked a bit, nibbled at his lip in consideration, then leaned in to say in an equally conspiratorial style, “Logan’s only involved to see how long it’ll be before anyone catches on. My record stands.”
“You are a trickster Patton Hart,” Virgil gasped in mock-scandal. He wagged his finger with his hand on his hip in a not-half-bad impression of Patton during a lecture, though he was unable to match his Patton-ted Disappointed Frown while he was grinning, “I’d never expect my partner in crime to be doing something like this without telling me, shame on you. You know I always have your back.”
It was their last weekend of freedom before they started high school, and as per usual both twins had both their friends sleeping over. Patton woke before Logan and Roman, also as per usual, and snuck out of Roman’s room down to the kitchen, only to jolt as he found the light already on and Virgil sitting on the kitchen counter.
“Whatcha doin?” Virgil asked, legs kicking in the air in front of the cabinets lazily.
“Gonna try to make pancakes! I’m positive I won’t burn them this time, I just know it,” Patton enthused, then squinted suspiciously at Virgil, “What’re you doing?”
“Oh just hanging around, keeping an eye out in case anyone tries to burn the house down again so I can help out. Figured they might need a partner in arson crime, ya know, and I could let them know I’ve got their back,” Virgil teased, nudging Patton’s leg with a sock clad foot. He looked so precious with his sleep mussed hair and eyeliner from the night before smudged under his eyes that Patton couldn’t even bring himself to argue that he really didn’t need a babysitter. Honestly, he couldn’t even begin to pretend he didn’t want the excuse to spend more time with him.
The twins’ argument grew more heated, finally managing to distract Patton from where he was a bit lost in the way Virgil’s eyes lit up when he was amused.
“You fucked up one of my favorite shirts!” Roman screeched as he attempted to give his brother a wet willy.
“You put red koolaid in my shampoo two weeks ago, you baby!” Remus cried back, shoving at his shoulder to try to get him off, and succeeding rolling them only for Roman to roll them straight back.
“I know you were the one who put my script out of order,” Roman fired back.
“You should have been off book anyway! And you broke bro code and told Virgil I was the one who deleted his X-Files off the DVR. You are just as bad as me.”
“You gave mom’s computer a porn virus and blamed it on me!” Roman protested, and everyone else seemed to simultaneously sigh as they descended into their usual back and forth of dredged-up pettiness.
“Oh you're still - you squashed my bug collection.”
“You left me stranded in the yard after Remy’s homecoming party senior year.”
“That was absolutely justified, you made me listen to you wax poetic about Logan’s fucking lips for 3 hours.”
“You made me listen to you wax poetic about Patton’s EVERYTHING for 13 YEARS”
Everyone in the shop simultaneously went silent in a blink of an eye. Virgil went white as a sheet and swung to look at the twins with wide eyes, Janus gripped the counter white-knuckled and looked at Patton with a similarly stunned expression, and Remus turned nearly as red as the sash on Roman’s favorite Prince Charming costume. He shoved Roman off of him for real, a more severe growl to his voice as he seemed to realize there was no way to play it cool, “You are such a fucking dick!”
Roman stammered for a moment, clearly trying to digest the change in tone and the weight of what he’d said, before waving his arms above his head in apparent bafflement, “It’s not like he didn’t know you all were into him!”
“Roman,” Logan spoke up suddenly, gesturing at Patton and what Patton knew had to be a completely shell-shocked expression.
Roman looked up and went just as wide-eyed as the others, “Pat… did... did you not know?”
“...all of you?” Patton asked, then winced as his voice cracked in shock. He watched Virgil flinch and seem to retreat into his hoodie out of the corner of his eye, and Janus’ face smoothed over into a perfect mask of calm in the blink of an eye. He felt his heart break just a little bit at the disappointment in both of their eyes at what he was sure they saw as a rejection.
Logan grabbed Roman’s arm and yanked him away roughly, though Roman followed easily, “You all clearly need to communicate. I will handle this one.”
“Don’t wanna know about you handling my brother, poindexter,” Remus joked hollowly, sounding almost like it was a reflex with none of his usual cackle behind it.
Logan rolled eyes and headed out the door, tugging behind him a Roman who was fervently whispering, just barely audibly, “He didn't know, how did he not know,” to himself over and over again.
There’s silence in the shop for a while, just the sound of the radio faintly playing over the loudspeakers echoing off the walls as they all just stare at each other, not knowing how to start. Then Janus took a deep breath and spoke first, “Patton, I refuse to speak for these two clowns, but I will absolutely tell you that I, at the very least, have had feelings for you for many years, feelings which i was unaware I was not making perfectly clear, or that there was a chance of any sort of reciprocation.”
“Around 7 years for me, give or take. That first morning we made pancakes together,” Virgil added quietly, fiddling with the zipper on his sleeve.
Remus averted his gaze, looking nervous in the way Patton had only seen the day before he confessed to Virgil and Janus in high school, and admitted in the quietest voice Patton’d ever heard him use, “I don’t know exactly when, Pattycakes. You’ve always been there and as far as I’m concerned I’ve loved you just as long. And-and I just assumed it wasn’t returned.”
Patton swallowed thickly, trying to push back tears because he knew these boys and knew they would take them for disappointment rather than the joy they were. He dove at Remus first, vaulting the counter the way he always scolded Roman against and sliding to his knees next to the other man on the floor before crushing him in a hug. He flailed back at Janus and Virgil with one hand to pull them in as well, “Come here, all of you, we’ve lost so much valuable cuddle time!”
Patton was pretty sure Janus broke the sound barrier with how quickly he was plastered to his side and burying his face in his hair, and Virgil wasn’t far behind, wrapping an arm around his waist and burying his face in the crease of his neck and shoulder. Patton took that moment to be a bit daring himself and press a kiss to the corner of Remus’ lips, then giggled brightly when Remus grabbed hold of his cardigan and used it to pull him back in to kiss him full on the mouth with just as much passion and impulsiveness and laughter as Patton had always imagined. His mustache tickled Patton’s nose a bit but he leaned into it, humming happily in the back of his throat and feeling like a puzzle piece clicked into place.
Virgil only gave them a minute before he untucked his face from Patton’s neck and grouched that he wanted a turn. Remus let Patton go with a very put-upon sigh that didn’t match his playful grin, flicking Virgil on the nose lightly. “You gotta give him his kisses or he’ll never shut the fuck up,” he fake-whispered.
Patton grinned and turned readily to Virgil, and his lips met Patton’s in a much gentler dance. His kiss was no less deep or passionate for its caution, and his hands cupped his face like he feared Patton would float away if he didn’t hold tight. His fingers curled and twitched upwards like they wanted to bury themselves in his hair but didn’t want to overstep, so Patton took the initiative to grip the back of his neck and tilt his own head to encourage Virgil to do what he wished.
Janus was more patient, waiting for them to part for breath a few minutes later before taking hold of Patton’s chin from Virgil without a word and gently but firmly turning Patton towards him. Janus’ kiss could only be described as a caress, light and teasing and peppered with soft nips to his bottom lip before building up to something more solid. His warm hands rubbed calmingly up and down Patton’s spine and over his shoulders like he couldn’t figure out where he wanted to touch first.
Remus soon demanded he get another shot, then Virgil wanted another, then Janus again, leaving Patton so beyond cloud 9 he could barely think any more. They spent at least 20 minutes there on the floor, lost in each other, rotating kisses that were long overdue, letting their actions make the confessions their words hid from for years, not daring to move and break the spell of the moment.
Then a camera shutter sounded, paired with a bright flash of light that made them all jolt and look up in surprise.
“I said communicate you know, not make out on the floor,” Logan sighed, digging through his wallet to pull a 20 out to hand to Roman, who was grinning victoriously.
“I’m sorry for being a dick, but I had to do something and I told Logan the “accidental slip” would work,” Roman said as he pressed a triumphant kiss to Logan’s cheek and pocketed the 20, “But you have to admit it was a pretty great performance on my part.”
“Can’t believe I was betrayed by my best friends, I don’t know whether I owe you a scolding or a fruit basket,” Patton lamented playfully, cheeks hurting from how wide he was smiling. Janus ruined what little remained of the facade even more as he shifted slightly and pulled him into his lap and Patton clung tight to Virgil and Remus’ hands, with no intention of disconnecting any time soon.

Our Little Secret
description: you and rudy have been sneaking around for a while now, what happens when you get caught in front of thousands of fans?😳😳
warnings: making out?? ooo and swearing oops (as a british person i can’t just NOT swear)
Tumblr media
Rudy’s lips smashed against yours, moving hungrily as his arms snaked around your waist. You gasped, arms moving to hook around his neck as he slipped his tongue in your mouth. You had to be on set in five, and you were just passing the time with your good friend Rudy in his trailer.
Between the two of you, neither of you were quite sure what you were. So far, all you guys had done was purely physical. Of course, there had been lingering touches, longing stares, stolen smiles. But you hadn’t talked about it.
It had started with flirty jokes, and then, boom! It just kinda happened, if you were being honest.
Not breaking the kiss, the two of you stumbled backwards until you bumped into the table. You jumped up and he took his pace between your legs, detaching his lips from yours and turning his attention to the skin on your neck. You moaned, heading rolling back to give him more access.
“Hey, Rudy? You in there?” Your eyes widen at the voice outside the trailer door, freezing both yours and Rudy’s movements.
“Uh, yeah?” Rudy says, clearing his throat.
“Why’s the door locked, toot?” You could practically see the suggestive smirk on Chase’s face.
“Cause I’m about to take a shit and I didn’t want anyone to come in here and smell that,” Rudy replies, looking at you with a grin on his face. You rest your head in the crook of his neck, pressing your face up to it to suppress your laughter.
Chase laughs. “Alright, then, but have you seen Y/N? I’ve been looking for her everywhere.”
“Nah, sorry bro,” Rudy calls out when you shake your head at him. “I’ve gotta take this shit or I’ll explode. See you in a sec.”
“It’s good, bro,” Chase replies. “She’s gotta be on set now, though. I’ll find her, don’t worry about it. Probably went off to craft services or something.”
You glare at the door where Chase is stood on the other end, but your eyes widen wen you realise you’re gonna be late to set.
“Cya, man,” Rudy says, helping you down from the counter as you pat down your hair. Chase mumbles a “bye”.
You two wait until it’s clear, giving Rudy a quick peck as you subtlety sneak out the trailer door once you’re sure Chase is gone.
As you walk - more like jog - away, you look back. Through the window you salute to Rudy, and he salutes back with a maniacal grin on his perfect face.
You’ve just finished shooting for the day, and straight away, you headed over to see Rudy. He’d slid you a note earlier in the day to meet him at his trailer once you were done.
Arriving, you were immediately pulled into a kiss by by the blond headed bimbo who’d stolen your heart. You smiled against his lips, happily thinking about the fact that you could finally call him yours.
Around two weeks ago now you two had finally sorted through your shit and admitted your feelings for each other. However, you’d both decided it would be better if you kept your newfound relationship to yourselves. You didn’t want to make things awkward if it didn’t work out, and, besides, sneaking around was fun. “Think of it as our little secret,” you had said.
You pulled away from the kiss and he pouted. Laughing, you pecked him on the cheek and watched as a smile took over on his lips. Rudy’s arms situated themselves around your waist as he laid the two of you down on the makeshift sofa in his trailer.
Rudy was lying on your lap as you played with his hair, occasionally kissing him as some stupid ass movie played on the TV. It was a nice breather from all the crazy scenes you’d been filming and you couldn’t feel more relaxed.
Well, that was until there was a knock at the door. You wasted no time in rushing into the bathroom, hiding as Rudy went to answer the door.
“Yo, dude,” you hear JD greet and you mentally cuss him out.
“Uh, hey, JD, Maddie,” Rudy says. “What’s up?”
“Why’re you being so weird?” Maddie questions, confused as to why Rudy seemed hesitant about letting them in.
“Me?” Rudy asks, shaking his head. “Nah, I’m not being weird.”
“Whatever,” Madison huffs. You hear her and JD walk in and mutter profanities under your breath. Thank god you had picked up your phone from the sofa or you would be toast. “We wanted to watch a movie and you have the comfiest couch.”
“What’re we watchin?” Rudy asks, bouncing on his heels. Madison shares a look with JD, confused as to what the hell was up with him.
“I dunno,” JD shrugs. “I gotta take a tinker in your bathroom, though. I’ll be right back.” He says, and your eyes widen.
“No!” Rudy calls out, and you search frantically for an escape route. There’s a window, but it’s kinda small, you’re not sure if you’d fit. Fuck it, you think as you hear JD and Mads confront Rudy about being weird.
“I just mean ... it’s kinda rank in there,” Rudy says, scratching the back of his neck.
“Disgusting,” Madison mutters.
“I’ll just block out the smell,” JD shrugs. “I’m desperate, bro.”
Rudy silently prays to himself as you fumble about the bathroom, climbing on top of the seat. You put one leg through the window as the footsteps land right outside the door, and  try to slyly maneuver yourself out with your phone in one hand. Your plan fails miserable and you tumble to the ground, landing in a bush.
“Fuck,” you mutter, sitting up and pulling leaves out your hair.
The door to the bathroom swings open and you run as fast as you can back to your own trailer. You ignore the confused looks of the crew members, and Drew calling your name as he sees you run past with twigs in your hair.
As soon as you get back to your trailer, you shoot Rudy a quick text.
I jumped out the window ;)
Jesus, Y/N. You good?
Yeah, just thank god for my super rad spy skills.
Sure, baby. Sure.
You giggle as Rudy pushes you down on your bed, peppering your skin with kisses, making you laugh more.
Filming had ended and you were currently quarantined with the cast, stuck in yours and Madelyn’s apartment. After the release of the show, you had gained quite a big fan base and your time had been occupied with online interviews and live streams. You’ve barely had the chance to sneak around with Rudy, not wanting to raise any suspicions since fans had already started shipping the two of you, pointing out the way he looks and interacts with you, and vice versa.
You didn’t want to let your friends catch on. Not yet.
Swiftly, you flip you and Rudy over, straddling him as you pull him in for a passionate kiss. You must not have heard the footsteps creeping up to your room, or the door swing open as you kissed your boyfriend.
A quick shriek alerted you of someone’s presence. You scrambled away from Rudy, cheeks red and eyes wide. It was Madelyn, stood frozen in the doorway, eyes wide. Clumsily, she dropped her phone, the object clattering to the floor
“Fuck,” Rudy mutters, pulling on his shirt as you put your hands over your face in attempt to hide you embarrassment.
Madelyn stands dead still, frozen to the spot. “Oh my god, guys, I am so so so sorry! I didn’t know you two were-”
By now, you had alerted the attention of Chase and Drew, who came running over at the sound of a scream. It didn’t take them long to connect the dots, between your rosy cheeks and swollen lips and Rudy’s messy hair and flustered appearance.
“Oh, shit,” Drew swore, eyes wide.
“Uh, guys ...” Madelyn spoke up, chuckling nervously. “I was on live and they saw ...” she motions between the two of you with her hands, “that.”
Honestly, you think you could’ve died, right then and there. You scramble to grab Maddie’s phone from the floor, seeing the comments screaming about what they had just accidentally witnessed and quickly end the live.
“I’m so sorry!” Maddie squeals, cheeks tinging red. “I was planning on scaring Y/N and I didn’t think Rudy would be in here, let alone that you two would be-”
You quickly cut her off, scratching the back of your neck and biting your lip. “It’s fine, Maddie. Seriously, don’t worry about it.”
“Yeah,” Rudy clears his throat. “You couldn't have known.”
“Uh, well,” Drew chuckles. “This is awkward.”
“Honestly, I’m gonna need a good few shots to erase the embarrassment of this moment from my memory,” you state, walking through the door and towards the kitchen where a bottle of vodka awaits you.
“I second that,” Rudy says, following you and lazily placing an arm around your waist.
Chase grins, watching the two off you. “So ... “ he trails off, gesturing between the two of you with his hand. “Are you two, yanno, together?” He wiggles his eyebrows suggestively.
You nod and Rudy smiles. “Yeah, we have been for a while now.”
“God, it’s about time!” Chase exclaims.
“You guys were pretty bad at hiding it,” Drew states, a grin of his own on his lips.
You mock fake offence, gasping as you poor the vodka into your shot glass. “We’ve been dating for four months, so, obviously not.”
Madelyn’s mouth hangs open. “Four months?!” she yells. “And you didn’t tell us?”
Rudy shrugs, kissing your cheek fondly. “Eh, it was pretty fun sneaking around.”
“Agreed,” you say, smiling up at him. He meets your gaze, pecking you on the lips.
“Ew, you guys,” Chase groans. “Just because you’re together now doesn’t mean you can be all openly affectionate.”
Madelyn whacks his arm, rolling her eyes. “Shut up, they’re cute.”
“Nah, they’re gross,” Drew jokes, laughing. “Anyway, I made Mama Starkey’s casserole. Who wants some?”
“Me!” you exclaim, grinning excitedly. If there was one thing you loved it was Mama Starkey’s chicken casserole. Also, eating and drinking would be a good way to get your mind off the fact that practically the entire world saw you on top of a shirtless Rudy, making out with him.
A/N: AHAHAH THE WAY I DIDNT KNOW HOW TO END THIS SHDJSHJDH also pls excuse the crappy writing this was made at 4am last night😳

Realignment
Prompt: I love when Remus is a lot smarter than he lets on, so I’d love a prompt where Logan is overworking himself and not taking care of himself and one tic of the clock away from either passing out or having a full on mental breakdown (not the type you can recover from in a day). Remus notices the little signs Logan shows, and hears the intrusive thoughts Logan has. Remus really becomes concerned when Logan’s intrusive thoughts start to involve taking breaks, going to eat properly rather than inhaling granola bars, and even sleeping. Remus storms in and is like “Logan tf????” Then gets hella soft once he realizes the state Logan is in
Thank you for the prompts, babe! I liked this one the best so I picked it.

Remus hears a lot of weird shit.
The problem arises when the shit he starts to hear isn't weird at all.
Remus hears a lot of weird shit.
The more appropriate definition would be ‘fucked up like you wouldn’t fucking believe,’ but one of us has a problem with particularly strong language and shit doesn’t have to be censored in a lot of media anymore. Which is so convenient! For some of us!
 It’s fucking great.
Anyway. Point being. Fucked up shit.
Intrusive thoughts literally fall under his purview. It’s the fun stuff! The stuff you don’t wanna think about that makes your skin crawl and your eyes pop open at the witching hour and stay awake until the sun rises. That’s Remus’s job.
And it’s like the whole Mindscape is whack-a-mole that he gets to play with! Buttons here and there, squeeze this part and watch the eyes bug out of this part, bap this one on the head, see which one pokes up next. Who’s gonna have nightmares tonight? Who is having a nightmare tonight?
 It’s fun.
 Point. Right. Right.
It’s normally pretty easy to tell whose intrusive thoughts are whose. They taste different. Patton’s taste like sugar so sweet it’ll fill your mouth with cavities. Virgil’s taste like spiders, crawling around his mouth. Janus’s taste like salt. So much fucking salt. Dry as hell.
Roman’s taste like blood. Problem is, Remus’s mouth normally tastes like blood, so…
Yeah, they gotta work that out.
Logan’s taste like ink. Which is why it took him so long to figure out that Logan was having them. Not just because the nerdy wolverine was so convinced he couldn’t have them—rationalizing them as philosophy principles, come on—but because Remus isn’t exactly an expert on pens. Writing like normal people. Ugh.
 Normal people.
What a lie, Janny probably gets a big kick out of those.
No one is normal and normal is boring.
 Logan. Right.
 Okay, so here’s the thing.
Logan’s thoughts aren’t really…standard? They are to some extent, you don’t really get a whole lot of variety from him—even when Remus has been so helpful in making his room safe for him to be in during bad days, there’s such a lack of imagination there that he wasn’t sure exactly how to feel—but it’s the recent ones that’ve been getting…weird.
Remus chews thoughtfully on the kraken tentacle. He swings up to the chandelier and hangs by his ankles, letting the blood run to his head. Makes it easier to think sometimes.
It hasn’t been very long since they found out…well, since they found out.
Remus frowns. Why is he censoring himself? It’s not like he can’t fucking say self-harm, it’s not like he can’t describe what it was, it’s not like he can’t close his eyes and see it happening again.
Then his mind jumps helpfully to the shocked, panicked look on Logan’s face and the soft, furious resignation on Roman’s, and his jaw snaps shut.
 Oh.
 Right.
He cares. So he has to be gentle with them.
He growls, swinging himself up to perch on the chandelier proper. He turns the kraken tentacle over and chews on the rubbery side.
The others are delicate. Not that they’re more breakable than any other metaphysical humanoid, but their minds are fragile when it comes to Remus’s side of things. Could they handle the full spectrum of his side of thoughts and shit? Probably, they’re stronger than they give themselves credit for. Should they have to? Hell to the fuck no. But it means that Remus can’t just throw them in the deep end and see if the kraken spits them out whole or in chunks. Could they survive? Absolutely. Would they still be…them? Doubtful.
Remus lets one of his legs go, hanging by one knee as he tips over.
Plus they’re always a little more fragile when it comes to these thoughts anyway. Poking and prodding too much would hurt. Like, the bad kind of hurt.
They’re not supposed to get hurt. Not like that.
 So. Gentle it is then.
Right. The others. He has a point, he’s just gotta get there.
Roman…fuck he’s missed his brother. They got—they got so much shit to still work out but they’re gonna do it together and fuck he loves his brother so goddamn much. Roman knows that, he knows that, and he’s always there to pull Remus out of his head when he needs it, hit him with a pillow, or tackle him onto something and hold him tight. He’s—his thoughts taste like blood and Remus hasn’t bitten anything since so that he’ll never miss it again.
 But with Logan...
Logan is…odd. It hasn’t been long since they first found out—or rather, they confronted him about it, and Remus hasn’t tasted ink without it disappearing very quickly or knocking on someone’s door to please go get your fucking nerd, please. But the ink has only written the usual suspects, whispering the theorems in dark corners, muttering about the incompleteness of a set, the need for Logic, not Logan, and how to jump through the little loophole again.
It’s not exactly hard for the others to tell.
Lolo hasn’t been looking great. Sure, he’s all pressed and dressed, glasses perfectly in place, tie done up just so, walking around like everything’s just totally and completely fine, but it’s in his face. Object impermanence aside, normally when Remus bugs him, he reacts in some way.
Sass is an emotional response and you won’t convince him otherwise.
Whether it be a wry comment, effortlessly fixing whatever Remus has done to him this time, or even just a look, Lolo does something.
 Not anymore.
Now he’ll just kind of…sigh and move on? He’ll fix whatever it is only if it’s directly interfering with what he’s trying to do, or when Patton or Virgil come round the corner and freak the fuck out because you’re bleeding! Then he’ll fix it.
Remus wouldn’t say he’s bored, but he’s worried.
Mainly because the intrusive thoughts…aren’t what he’d consider intrusive anymore.
 Take a shower.
Eat something that isn’t just a granola bar.
 Go to sleep.
 Ask someone for help.
 See?
If those are Lolo’s intrusive thoughts, then what the fuck is normally going on in his head?
 Remus waits. Waits. Keeps waiting.
The instant his mouth tastes like ink again, with a question of whether or not Logan should take a break, he sinks straight into his shower. He washes his hair thoroughly, gets every single bit of grime off him he can, and puts on the softest pajamas he has—thank you, Roman—and drops himself outside of Logan’s door.
He strains, mouth still full of ink, to hear anything other than the soft click, click, click of Logan’s keyboard.
 He can’t.
 Fuck.
 He knocks.
 “One moment, please.”
Indeed, a few seconds later, the door opens to reveal Logan, looking as annoyingly pristine as he always does, surprised to see him.
“Remus? Did you need something? Why…” he trails off as he takes in what Remus is wearing. “What’s wrong?”
 “Can I come in?”
“Of—of course,” Logan stammers, moving aside to let him in, “are you alright?”
“Should be asking you that, Lolo.”
“Remus, you’ve just knocked, first of all, on my door and asked to come inside.” Logan adjusts his glasses as he sits at his desk. “This is extremely out of character for you.”
“Uh-huh.” Remus flops onto the bed. “You know what else is out of character?”
 “Not wearing your costume?”
 “Not hearing intrusive thoughts.”
Logan’s eyes widen. “Has—is there something wrong? Are you not hearing any? Do I need to get Roman?”
Remus frowns. “Why’s it so easy for you to do that?”
 “Do what?”
“Care. Try and take care of me.”
Logan blinks. “Because you deserve to be taken care of, Remus. Your needs are important.”
Remus idly toys with a loose thread on one sleeve. “Why?”
“Why? Why are you important?” Remus nods. “Because you’re—you’re an important part of Thomas, you’re important to us, and we care about you.”
“So it’s easy for you to care for me because…you do?”
“As simple as that sounds,” Logan says with all the softness that should be directed at himself, “yes.”
Remus nods. “I’m not having problems with hearing intrusive thoughts.”
“You’re—you’re not?” Logan sighs, relaxing a little back into his chair. “Then why did you say you were?”
“Because the thoughts that I am hearing aren’t really what I’d consider intrusive.”
 Logan frowns. “Like what?”
 Glad you fucking asked.
“‘Take a shower,’” Remus says, his eyes fixed firmly on Logan’s face, “'eat something,’ ‘take a break,’ ‘go to sleep.’”
 He watches Logan’s face tense.
 “Sound familiar, Lolo?”
“You—I—my apologies,” Logan manages after a moment, adjusting his tie, “I did not mean to be an inconvenience. You are correct, those are not intrusive thoughts, I’m not sure why you’re hearing them.”
He turns to his desk and begins to fish around for a notebook.
“That is quite intriguing, I wonder what the possibilities for hearing other types of thoughts are, considering—“
 “Lolo.”
 Logan pauses, turning back. “Yes?”
Remus fixes him with a look, getting up and walking toward him. “They are intrusive thoughts, Logan. The issue is that your intrusive thoughts are about you taking care of yourself.”
 Logan freezes.
“W-well, I’m sure that it’s nothing to be concerned about.”
“So either you can admit that was a lie or Janny’s about to get summoned.”
“Remus,” Logan sighs, “it’s fine. As you said, these aren’t what are traditionally considered intrusive thoughts, it’s nothing to be concerned about.”
“No, Lolo, it is,” Remus argues, “because it means that the thought of you taking care of yourself is so foreign, so fucking out of the ordinary that not only does it happen to cross your mind—“ he takes Logan’s chair and spins it around— “but you try to force it out.”
 Gotcha.
Logan looks anywhere other than Remus’s face and tries to stand. Only to wobble and crash back down.
“Easy,” Remus says quietly, resting a hand on his shoulder, “you haven’t eaten in a while.”
 “But I have work.”
 “But you need food.”
 “Remus—“
 “Logan.”
At Logan’s honest-to-fuck pout, he sighs, dragging the poor nerd up and out the chair and sitting him on the bed.
“Why do you think you don’t deserve to be taken care of?”
“I didn’t say that—hey!” Logan blinks up at him, scandalized and covering his stomach. “Why did you poke me?”
“’S what I do when Janny won’t tell me the truth.”
“I wasn’t—okay, okay!” Logan covers his stomach protectively as Remus readies another poke. “I just…I’ve already asked for help for this before. I shouldn’t have to again.”
Remus sighs and lightly flicks the side of his head.
 “Hey!”
“Virgil tries that too.” He stares hard at Logan. “Come on, Lolo, you can do better.”
“It’s not your jobs to take care of me.”
 For fuck’s sake…
Remus reaches out and tugs gently on Logan’s tie.
 “Remus, what—“
“You taking more books outta Patton’s library now?” Remus tilts his head. “You don’t have to beat around the bush, Lolo, just be honest.”
 “I am being honest!”
“You’re not lying, but you’re not being honest.” At the poor nerd’s confusion, he sighs and fixes his glasses on that cute nose. “Just talk to me, Lolo.”
“I—“ Logan sighs and oh fuck why does he look so tired?
Well, because he hasn’t been sleeping.
 Or eating.
 Or taking care of himself.
Unbidden, part of his conversation with Roman flashes into his head.
 “Self-harm can be self-denial too.”
 “Lolo?”
“It’s bad enough that I’ve made you all worry about me,” Logan says finally, “I would hate to be a burden.”
Oh, Lolo. “You and Roman, huh?”
Logan looks up warily. “What do you do with Roman?”
 “You know what I do.”
Logan sighs. “May at least take my glasses off first?”
“You might wanna change too, I’m not letting you up for a while.”
Logan stretches to place his glasses on the nightstand and poofs himself into a t-shirt and boxers. He sighs and opens his arms.
Remus takes two running steps and tackles the poor nerd onto his bed.
 “Ah!”
 “Am I hurting you?”
“No, no, just—just a little startled.”
“Mm.” Remus snuggles closer into Logan, his arms wrapped tightly around him. “So. Wanna try one more time?”
Logan sighs, deflating them both to the bed. His head lolls to his left, eyes on his open computer screen. Remus follows it, barely suppressing a growl as he stretches his arm out to save whatever’s on screen and shut it.
“I know what I’m supposed to be doing,” Logan whispers, “I understand the process, I am aware that healing is not a linear concept, I know it’s going to take time, I—I understand.”
Remus looks down, giving him an encouraging squeeze. “But?”
“It’s hard,” comes the soft confession.
 Oh, Lolo.
“I know,” he murmurs, leaning down to hug him properly, “I know, Lolo, I know it’s hard. But you can’t try and do it all yourself, you’ve gotta remember that we’re here for you, we care about you.”
 “But why?”
Remus smiles and cuddles him tighter. “You said it yourself, Lolo. We care because we do.”
“O-oh.” He feels Logan’s throat work as he swallows. “Thank you, Remus.”
“Of course, Lolo. I’m guessing that sinking us to the living room so everyone else can spoil you is a bad idea, right?”
“Yes.” Finally, finally, he feels Logan shyly tighten his grip on him. “Can we just…stay like this?”
“Do I have your permission to hold you hostage until you fall asleep?”
 “Yes.”
“Then go to sleep, Lolo,” Remus murmurs, “I’m not going anywhere.”

The sun is warm against your skin and the slight breeze is adding to a perfect summer day. Now that school is out, the public pool has extended it’s days of operations and hours, so here you are out with you boyfriend’s little brother and friends, tanning and having a relaxing day.
Oscar called you saying to meet him at the pool since he’s really trying to avoid spending any alone time at home with his estranged father. As you await his arrival, you’re laying back and letting the sun fill in the paler parts of your skin due to your bikini straps. And it’s been lovely but you’re starting to lose you’re patience as Monse, Cesar’s toxic ass girlfriend, keeps talking ill about Oscar.
You sigh once more as you try to zero out on the things she is saying about him but it’s getting real hard to bite your tongue the more she goes on. It’s Oscar “Spooky” Diaz and of course everyone has an opinions about everyone. And rightfully so but Monse only says bad things about her boyfriend’s older brother. Every single time it’s something negative. And granted you don’t spend much time with her, it’s sad that she can’t say one good thing.
It’s also when Oscar is never around and the devil is prying to get out of you to say something. Oh, please say something. But you keep your eyes closed and pray that your boyfriend arrives soon. The last thing you want is to cause a scene in a family area.
“I mean he’s been hanging around a lot and it’s just annoying he gotta bring his gang tendencies when it’s been clear as day you don’t want nothing to do with it. Doesn’t he have drugs to sell? or other people to jump into the gang?” Monse says and you huff audibly.
Though you got your eyes closed, you could feel her gaze move to you briefly.
Cesar only sighs as Monse kept on going and that was the tip of the iceberg for you. How can Cesar not defend is older brother? You know the shit the Diaz brothers have been through but to not defend someone who has defended you on countless occasions?
“Seriously? You really going keep talking shit, Monse? I’m convinced you’re obsessed with Oscar since all you ever do is talk about him,” You’ve had enough, you get up and say to her as you stand above them,
Both she and Cesar look up at you, surprised. “I-I, uh, was just saying th-”
“No, you weren’t just fucking saying nothing. You’re trash talking his brother and my boyfriend and it’s shit on me to have waited this long to say something but you’re such a pussy for only knowing how to talk smack when he’s not around.”
She tilts her head to the side and stands to cross her arms over her chest, “I have no problem saying this to his face as well. He must have you whipped if you are too blind to see that all he is is trouble, Y/N. You’re a smart girl, you deserve someone better than Oscar.”
If you could see the world in a single color right now, it’d be red and for Monse it’s about to be black considering you want to pop her one right in the mouth. You’re at a disbelief that she can’t give Oscar the benefit of the doubt considering he has done a lot for his brother and group of friends. Everytime there had been an issue that they couldn’t solve, which was 99.9% of the time, Oscar came in with the save.
You see your boyfriend walk through the gated entrance of the public pool. He makes his way over to the food stand and you smile to yourself, the sight of him always making you melt, “ I am a smart girl, thank you. I’m smart enough to know that no one in this world is perfect. We all have flaws, Oscar knows it too. But you’re quick to forget that if it weren’t for him, you all would probably be 6 feet under next to Lil Ricky, who isn’t even 6 feet under might I add!”
She laughs a little to herself before continuing, “And we wouldn’t have gotten in those situations had Oscar not jumped his little brother into that stupid gang of wannabes anyways! Who does that? Forces his own family into something he didn’t want to be apart of? That’s messed up! And you the complicit one that stands by not saying anything!” Monse says loudly, now catching the attention of those around you. Even Oscar is now looking your way, you and Monse in each other’s faces.
You weren’t planning to make a big scene about this, you just wanted to call her out on her bullshit peacefully, if that is even possible. But if the shoe fits? You lace that bitch up and wear it.
You scoff and step closer to her face, “Cesar grew up in this life, wake the fuck up, Monse! It looks like a duck, it quacks like a duck, it’s a fucking duck! Think this lil duckling was gonna join the rabbit family and live a peaceful life? That is how the world revolves, that is how people like us survive. Whether you like it or not. Yes, it is messed up. And I can promise you, Oscar never wanted this life to begin with, not for him and definitely not for his brother, whom he raised. Was it a perfect life? No. But it was and still is enough.
“So I swear to God, if you can’t say anything nice please shut the fuck up. Don’t say shit. Because if you wanna point out flaws, let’s all do it, hm? Gather around family and friends, “ You look around and say, “We’re gonna play the What’s wrong with Monse game I’ll start, she’s toxic as fuck! She loves to play the victim, she’s dating a freshly jumped in Santo, which she claims are wannabe gangsters!”
Everyone’s attention is on you now, Oscar is trying his best not to laugh at the situation but when you get argumentative, it’s a damn good time. You have valid points and Monse knows it. The people with the most problems never like to admit them. She has a look of embarrassment plastered on her face.
“Y/N...” Cesar speaks up, also with a look of embarrassment on his face. He scratches the back of his head as he looks around and spots his brother in the distant. Oscar raises his water bottle in the air as a notion of, Salud.
You cross your arms and wait for him to say something but he only looks down at his feet and rocks on his heels. Monse’s mouth agape at his lack of input, “What’s wrong? You upset he’s not defending you? That’s how complicit ones are, sweetheart. They see the problem and let it go on so long as it’s not personally affecting them. Which means you probably just a piece of culo. And also means he’s a little puto for not defending his brother. A little bitch! Both of you!”
“Hey, hey mamas. Calmate, com’n. Let’s go get some food, hm?” Oscar appears and starts to pull you away as you spew out the last of your words. He can feel your skin is warm to the touch and it is not from the tanning either.
He is smiling like a fool once you two make your way to the stand, “Wow, my lady defends my name even when I’m not around.”
You shake your head and cross you arms, exhaling a much needed breath through your nose. Monse is collecting her things, angrily and storming out to the parking lot. A frantic Cesar following, you look back to Oscar and both laugh.
“Was I too harsh?” You ask him, he shakes his head in disagreement.
“Nah, bout time someone tells her off and you did just that. It’s hot, y’know? Calling them out for talking shit.” You look to him and whack your arm on his stomach, he wraps his arms around you and kisses the top of you head. “What else would my lil traviesa do for me?”
As you tip your head back to answer, Jasmine walks towards the two of you blasting music from her phone.
I don’t wanna spit, I wanna gulp
I wanna gag, I wanna choke
I want you to touch that lil dangly dang that swang in the back of my throat
You look to Oscar and wink at him, feeling the hardness in his swim trunks as you lick your lips. He clears his throat looking at Jasmine that means to leave. She snobs you two and walks off.
“Aye, you gotta walk in front me. He won’t let up.” You look between the two of you and see his boner. Laughing away, you let him trail very close behind you.

Spoilers for Season 15x20 finale
Summary: This is a semi-rewrite of episode 15x20...
Pairing: Dean x reader (reader is treated more like an OC than a typical reader)
Word Count: 2,000ish
Warnings: language, major 15x20 spoilers
A/N: I wrote this for myself honestly. I know it is idealistic and was never going to happen. Again, I’m sharing simply if you’re interested but please feel free to ignore. This picks up from a very obvious point in the episode...
______
Dean POV
“Fuck,” said Dean, his hand over his chest. Something big was stabbing into his back. This felt wrong though. A dull, achy pain trickled up and down his spine and across his chest. His heart was racing up and slowing down when it wanted and Dean shut his eyes as he recognized the feeling in his bones.
He was dying. The kind of dying a doctor can’t fix.
“Jack!” shouted Sam, Dean peeling open his eyes as he realized Sam was besides him, hand covered in blood. A few seconds later Jack appeared in front of them eating a bar of nougat. “Jack fix him. Please.”
“He said he was hands off,” said Dean with a wince, his whole body shaking. Jack cocked his head and walked over, touching Dean’s forehead. The next thing he knew, Dean was sat on the ground and taking a deep breath, the pain gone as he looked up. “You said you were hands off.”
“You’re my dads. Why wouldn’t I help you?” he asked, a confused look on his face. Dean chuckled and nodded, still holding onto his chest. “You seem upset. I’ll pop you guys home.”
“Kid there’s-”
“Those boys are okay,” said Jack, snapping his fingers. Dean was suddenly sat on the steps up into the library, Jack mentioning something about taking some nougat from the pantry before he headed out.
“You alright?” asked Sam. Dean shook his head and he took a seat. Dean rubbed the heel of his palm against his chest and shuddered. “Jack got there in time.”
“If he hadn’t-”
“Dean-”
“If he hadn’t...because it was bad, Sammy. If he hadn’t...I’m so proud of you and I love you, so fucking much. I couldn’t have asked for a better baby brother, a better best friend. You just gotta tell me something. When the time comes, you’ll be okay without me. Tell me Sam. Please.”
“I’ll be okay,” said Sam quietly. Dean nodded and moved his hand to his lap, Sam scooting closer. “Let’s get out of here.”
“What?”
“Let’s get a house. We can get a big yard for Miracle. Run an operation like Bobby did, do the occasional case. Let’s go live more,” said Sam. Dean paused but rubbed his chest again and smiled.
“Dibs on the master bedroom,” said Dean. Sam chuckled and nodded. “Yeah. This place is home but I wouldn’t mind an upgrade.”
Two Months Later
“Miracle!” called Dean when he ignored the ball Dean had just thrown across the yard and ran around the corner of the house. “Miracle!”
“I think your daddy’s looking for you,” Dean heard a voice giggle. He walked around the house and saw a woman knelt down and ruffling the dog. “You’re so cute. You’re so cute.”
“Yes, I am,” smirked Dean as the woman popped her head up. “So, how can I help you and why are you parked in my driveway?”
“I’m Y/N. Y/N-”
“I heard of you. Hunter out of Alaska right?” he asked as she nodded. “You work a lot of Canada cases.”
“I did,” she said with a shrug. “I was thinking of retiring down south. Wondering if you got any tips on how to adjust.”
“A dog helps,” he said and she smiled, Dean looking her up and down. “You do realize this is Austin, Texas right?”
“This is south to me,” she said. “I know Donna through a friend of a friend. She said it’d be cool if I came and talked to you?”
“Uh, yeah, sure,” said Dean, Miracle running over to the ball and rushing back with it. He nudged Dean’s hand and Y/N smiled. “You mind chatting while we do some fetch?”
“Not at all, Winchester.”
“Kinda funny how Eileen and Y/N know each other,” said Sam, Dean looking out the back window to where the girls and Miracle were sat on the back deck after dinner drinking a beer. Dean hummed and dried a plate, Sam nudging his arm. “You like her, don’t you.”
“You like her.”
“Dean.”
“Yeah, I like her. What’s the big deal?”
“Oh, I don’t know. A gorgeous, former hunter with your kind of humor, love for pie, muscle cars and classic rock that’s single just happens to have stuck around long after she got done talking to you.”
“I invited her to dinner.”
“She understands the life Dean. All the shit we carry. You’ve never tried with a hunter. Give her a chance.”
“Tried what?” said Dean, putting the plate in the cupboard.
“You can have a relationship Dean. I’m pretty sure she likes you too,” said Sam.
“Hello, Dean,” said Castiel, both guys jumping as they spun around. They stared at the angel as Cas looked around. “I enjoy your home. The air is fragrant.”
“It’s a candle,” said Sam, pointing to the flickering light on the countertop. He blew it out and Dean walked around the island, shaking his head.
“Where the fuck have you been?” said Dean, giving Cas a hug. Sam joined them and Castiel shrugged.
“Rebuilding heaven is labor intensive process,” said Cas before turning to Dean. “I felt you would be coming there soon a few months ago.”
“Why didn’t you pop down when you knew he was dying?” asked Sam.
“You are humans,” said Cas with a pout. “You will die someday. It’s an inevitable fact. Time is very strange in heaven in its relation to earth. I assumed you were an old man.”
“No, not old,” said Dean.
“Would you two like for me to prevent your deaths until a certain age?” asked Cas.
“No,” they both said, Dean smiling.
“But if we ask for help, you will help?” asked Dean.
“Always,” said Castiel. He tilted his head and looked out the back window. “Who is the woman with Eileen?”
“Y/N. Hunter from the Yukon area. Dean has a crush,” said Sam. He smirked when Dean whacked his arm, Cas still cocking his head. “You know her?”
“She’s quite drawn to Dean. Metaphysically speaking.”
“Yes cause whatever you just said was very clear. Like I’m five Cas,” said Dean. Cas sighed and pursed his lips.
“Jack has given me some extra power to help assist him better. I can see more of a person now,” said Cas. “Their energy, soul, things of that nature.”
“Okay...so what does that mean?” asked Dean.
“Oh your souls are quite intertwined. She’s your soulmate,” said Cas.
“Really?” said Dean, allowing a brief smile to cross his face.
“She also has a growing inoperable mass in her head that will kill her in the next few years. She suffers from headaches quite frequently,” said Cas. Dean sat down at the counter and stared out the back door, squeezing his eyes shut.
“Why can’t I be happy?” he breathed out. “For a fucking minute I can’t even be happy before the rug gets pulled out.”
“...Did you not want me to heal her?” asked Cas. Dean rolled his eyes and Cas’ glowed blue for a moment. “She’s fine now. You seem...emotional.”
“Well I am Cas,” said Dean.
“You’ve been off since that hunt and the barn,” said Sam.
“Sam I shouldn’t be alive,” said Dean. “I got lucky.”
“You have sacrificed your entire life for others, Dean,” said Cas, Sam taking a seat next to Dean. “You should take advantage of your powerful friends. Let others care for you now. I will speak to Jack about the remaining monsters and their relocation to somewhere better suited for them, perhaps a new world.”
“Everything alright?” asked Y/N, slipping in through the back door with an empty beer bottle.
“Yeah, we’re all good,” said Sam.
“Liar,” she said, smiling at Dean. “I’ll be right back.”
She excused herself to the bathroom, Sam and Cas going outside. Dean got another set of beers out just in time for Y/N to return.
“Can I ask you a question?” she said.
“Shoot,” said Dean, handing her the drink.
“Your friend, the angel, did he just heal me? I’ve had constant headaches for awhile now. Brain tumor. I feel different. You guys wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with that would you?”
“You deserve to enjoy your retirement,” he said. “A very long retirement. You’re fine now.”
“I won’t be mad about that,” she said, leaning against the counter by him. She took a long sip and smiled. “I like you, Dean.”
“I like you,” he said.
“I’m gonna stick around town for a bit, see if things work out,” she said. He nodded and smiled, watching her smirk. “So there’s really no more monsters?”
“Uh, what?”
“I overheard Castiel when I walked in. Guess we’re really out of jobs now,” you said.
“I got an offer for a construction manager,” he said.
“You gonna take it?” she asked.
“I think so. What do you think?” he asked.
“I think it’s a great idea,” she said. “Gotta keep busy somehow.”
“What’s your retirement look like?” he asked. She shrugged and smiled. “Now that death isn’t imminent.”
“Maybe I’ll find a guy, try the domestic thing,” she said, a soft smile staying on her lips. “Know anyone who might be interested?”
“I’m sure I can think of someone, sweetheart.”
One Year Later
“So what do you think?” asked Sam as he spun around in his suit in the family room.
“What do we think junior?” asked Dean, the baby on his lap clapping his hands. “He says dad’s gonna score tonight.”
“I fear for you teaching my son things when he’s a teenager,” chuckled Sam.
“That’s what Uncles are for,” said Dean as Y/N got up from the couch and started fixing Sam’s tie.
“And what Aunt’s are for to rein them in,” she said, smoothing it out.
“Thank you,” said Sam. “Hey, when you two gonna have a kid?”
“Who says we aren’t?” smirked Dean. Sam went wide eyed and she rolled hers.
“We’re trying just recently. You will literally be the first to know once we do,” she said. She winked and Sam narrowed his eyes, looking back and forth between them then down to her stomach.
“You’re so pregnant.”
“Ugh, we were gonna surprise you guys. Let us surprise, Eileen at least,” she said.
“You guys are pregnant!” said Eileen from over the balcony upstairs. Y/N laughed and headed up, Sam taking a seat next to Dean and plucking his son into his arms.
“You’re gonna be a real good dad. You got a lot of practice,” said Sam. Dean shrugged and Sam gave him a side hug. “I’m really happy he gets to know his Uncle, Dean. You’re gonna do great.”
“I’m really happy I get to be here too,” said Dean. He sat back and shut his eyes. “I owe you one.”
“For what?”
“The barn. I thought Jack wouldn’t come. I didn’t even bother. I thought that was gonna be it,” said Dean. “I didn’t want to go yet.”
“You don’t owe me for that,” said Sam, handing the baby back when he heard feet on the stairs. “Be good for Uncle Dean, baby boy.”
“Go have fun on your date, Sammy,” said Dean.
“You have fun on your stay at home date,” chuckled Sam. “See ya later, De.”
“Later, Sammy.”

The One
Coco Cruz x Reader
Summary: Coco turns you in a clumsy, shy mess every time he’s around and you just can’t quite find the courage to tell him how you feel, that is until your Mayan brothers drag you both to a funfair.
Warnings: Fluff, lots of shyness, Angel and Gilly trying to be wingmen, a brief mention of public sex acts.
Word count: Approx 2600
Masterlist
A/N: Hi loves, I’ve been working on this fic for months, but it was never quite right, but I loved it too much to scrap it, so I’m super happy to finally be able to share it with you! I did struggle with this a bit, so I apologise if it’s not super smooth, but hey 🤷🏻‍♀️ This is just the first part, the second part will be with you soon. Enjoy! 💖
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“How the fuck are you winning again?” Gilly groaned, slouching in his chair opposite you as you placed down a card on the table, effectively winning the round of the card game you were playing. Giggling, you shrugged and crossed one leg over the other, looking rather smug with yourself. “You challenged me, remember?” You giggled, all too happy that you’d won another round. Gilly sighed and tilted his head back before gathering up the cards. “One more round?” He asked, handing you the cards to shuffle and you nodded, taking them from him.
Shuffling the cards, you were mid conversation with Gilly about how you wanted to go to the fair that had been set up just outside of town, when Angel and Coco entered the clubhouse. “It’ll be great, also, I don’t believe him, but Coco said he’d never had cotton candy before and-.” “He’s never what?” Gilly replied, incredulous, if not a little over dramatic and you giggled, shaking your head. “There’s your chance for a date, hermana, take ‘im to get cotton candy.” Gilly chuckled, nudging your hand with his, to which you protested with a drawn out, hushed ‘noooo Gilly’.
You were a dear friend to the club and all of its members, so much so that you were often titled ‘hermana’ since you had become a sister to most members, though some of them, notably Bishop had taken to calling you mija. But really, you kept everyone in the club grounded and you were greatly appreciated for your loving, sweet nature, despite the fact that you were horrendously clumsy and on more than one occasion had managed to run into people, drop everything and break things, not that anyone minded. But it always seemed to happen more prominently around Coco and the boys were beginning to notice it happen more frequently when you were around him.
“What are you two up to?” Angel asked, interrupting your thoughts as you shuffled the cards. “Just having a game.” Gilly replied, going on to tell Angel about how he’d totally won the last three rounds, to which Angel snorted in disbelief. It was another moment before you even realised that Coco was there, he’d not said a word, but you looked up to deal the cards between you, only to see him eyeing you over Gilly’s shoulder and you fumbled with the cards, some of the deck falling from your hands and spilling over the table and scattering everywhere while you attempted to keep them together.
“Oh jesus- fucking- hi Coco.” You managed to squeak out, Gilly trying so hard to contain his laughter as Angel gathered up the cards that had dropped to the floor and you felt the heat of embarrassment surge through you as you shuffled the cards back into a stack. “Hey corazón.” Coco responded with a light chuckle at your sudden bout of clumsiness and you felt yourself melt at the name he used for you, hoping it wasn’t too obvious how shy and embarrassed you were.
“I’ll get some beer.” Coco announced, throwing you a smile as he walked away. “How long is this gonna go on for? I can’t deal with you goin’ all butter fingers whenever you just fucking look at him.” Angel hissed, though he was far too amused by it all to actually be annoyed and you desperately wanted the ground to swallow you whole. “Everyone knows you love him.” Angel told you and your eyes went wide. “I’m pretty sure even Coco knows.” He chuckled and you felt even more nervous about saying anything. “Shut the fuck up, man. Don’t listen to Angel, hermana.” Gilly said, lightly whacking him on the arm. “You gotta tell Coco-.” “Tell me what?” Coco cut in as he came back with some bottles and you slid down a little in your seat. “Oh, our little hermana here-.” “Thinks it’s ridiculous that you’ve never had cotton candy before.” Gilly interrupted Angel, kicking him under the table and you gave him a thankful smile before shooting daggers at Angel who looked far too pleased with himself. “What?” Angel asked, giving you a mischievous grin.
Coco just looked at you with a raised brow, evidently not believing it one bit and you quickly reached for your drink, hoping at the very least that occupying yourself with the bottle would distract you a bit. Coco lit himself a cigarette and toked it a couple of times before taking a full draw of his smoke, reaching for his beer.
“So what about that fair outside of town this weekend?” Gilly asked. “I’m down, I need a change of fucking scenery.” Angel nodded. “Coco?” Gilly asked as you took a sip from your bottle. He shrugged, looking at the two men with indifference. “Hey, c’mon man, remember last time with the photobooth?” Angel nudged him, winking. “Shut up, carnal.” Coco rolled his eyes, taking a puff from his cigarette as Gilly snorted. “The fabled tale of Coco gettin’ loco with not one, but two girls in a fuckin’ photobooth.” Angel said, speaking as if it was some kind of epic tale, when really, it was more of a half drunk escapade that Coco barely remembered a wink of, apart from maybe the tale end of a two girl blowjob.
“You comin’ hermana?” Gilly asked, completely changing the subject and you looked between the three men, giving them a look of uncertainty. “I don’t know guys, you’re just gonna abandon me in the teacups again.” You pouted, Gilly and Angel immediately erupting into laughter at the memory from last year.
Coco huffed as he listened to the conversation. He didn’t care about finding girls to have a little fun with at the fair, if anything, he was more interested in something else, not that he was going to make that known, especially not with Angel and Gilly around.
Coco leaned over, draping his arm around the back of your chair. “I’ll go if you go, corazón.” He whispered in your ear and you instantly felt yourself burn up from his close proximity and the way he said those words, deep, enticing, but somehow still sweet and soft. Angel and Gilly too were far too wrapped up in retelling stories of their last trip to a fair to pay any attention to Coco’s actions and you swallowed heavily, glancing shyly across at him, the Mayan much closer than you had anticipated and as you faced him, eyes almost too timid to meet his, your breaths mingled for a moment with how closely he had leaned in.
“I’ll go.” You responded quietly, voice barely audible, but Coco heard you just fine and your response prompted a big, lopsided smile on his lips and you wondered how you’d even mustered the courage to respond.
“See you there, corazón.” He smirked, leaning back to take the last sip of his beer before he stood up from the table abruptly enough to get the attention of Angel and Gilly.
“Gotta go, got shit to do with Letty.” He said, putting his bottle down on the table. “See you later ‘mano.” Angel waved him off, Gilly eyeing your flustered state and giving you a questioning look as you attempted to pull yourself together.
“You alright hermana?” He asked. “Probably.” You nodded, clearing your throat a little and shifting in your seat, uncomfortable under the questioning looks you were getting from both men before you finally decided to awkwardly say goodbye to your brothers and excuse yourself from the table.
“Tell me I wasn’t the only one who saw that?” Gilly hissed at Angel. “Nah man, I saw the way he looked at her, the way he spoke to her.”
The next day was far too quick to come around and by the time you’d rocked up to the fun fair on the back of Gilly’s bike, you felt like the last day had slipped away from you far faster than you would have liked. It wasn’t that you weren’t looking forward to spending the day with your boys, you were so excited to spend some time with them away from the MC. But your apprehension came more from being afraid that you might fuck things up with Coco. What if you told him how you felt and he rejected you? What if he avoided you? That would crush you, but while you had been nervous about admitting feelings to Coco, all of your brothers knew that the two of you would be perfect together, which was why they were adamant on pushing you both together despite your often silent panic when they did so.
It was early evening as you walked with Gilly over to where Angel was standing in the parking lot, leaning against his bike, waiting impatiently for you both.
“You’re gonna tell Coco today, right?” Angel asked before he even greeted you, pushing away from his bike before approaching you and Gilly. “Oh yeah, it’s real nice to see you too Angel.” Gilly replied in a sarcastic tone, making the taller of the two snort in response. “But you’re gonna, right?” Gilly joined in, turning to look at you as you glanced at the two bikers who stared at you expectantly. “I mean… Maybe?” You answered, hoping it was enough to get them off your back about Coco, but it only seemed to make it worse because Angel was adamant a plan he’d come up with for how you should tell Coco was ‘fool proof’, whatever that implied.
“We’re meeting Coco in the fair, he’s late.” Angel informed you both as Gilly began to lead the group of you across the parking lot towards the entrance booth. “Club shit?” Gilly asked. “Nah, somethin’ to do with Letty.” He shrugged.
You stood with a grin on your lips as you watched Gilly and Angel playfully banter between them as they waited to have a go at winning something at a booth with water pistols and targets.
As you watched, you almost jumped out of your skin when you felt two hands gently grip your shoulders and you barely had time to react before you heard his deep, low voice, quickly relaxing you. “Whoa, relax corizon, s’just me.” Coco spoke softly in your ear. “Coco,” You looked over your shoulder at him with an uncontrollable smile, the biker coming round to your side, his arm staying around your shoulders.
“Sorry I’m late, was making cake with Letty.” Coco told you with a smile. “Don’t tell Angel that.” He added, making you giggle and shake your head. “I won’t, your secret is safe with me.” You replied, voice quiet and soft. Coco looked over at you, his grip on your arm tightening slightly as he caught your gaze, noting how relaxed you looked, how relaxed you felt against him and it brought a warmth to his heart to see you that way.
Angel glanced over his shoulder at Coco and the pair nodded at each other in a silent greeting, Angel smirking as soon as he saw you tucked against Coco’s side with his arm around you before he turned his attention back to the game when it was his and Gilly’s turn.
“Wanna go do shit without those two?” Coco asked. “Gonna have another headache if I gotta babysit them.” He rolled his eyes playfully. “Yeah, I’d like that.” You nodded, letting Coco tug you along with him.
Coco walked you through the fairground, stopping by stalls and booths along the way to play a few games, his smile always doubling in size whenever he heard you giggle, noticing you enjoying yourself in his company. Coco had wanted to spend time with you and talk to you for a while, but no matter how hard he tried, one of the Mayans always seemed to drop themselves into the conversation before he even had a chance to try and ease you out of your shell and give you his full, undivided attention.
And now, as you both found yourself on the furthest side of the fairground, overlooking a beautiful sunset in the distance with a bag of candy floss in Coco’s hand that he shared with you.
It was such a sweet moment, calm and dreamy, the ambience of funfair was soft in the background, the soft, golden glow of the sunset gently casting over the desert horizon.
Coco looked over at you, bathed in golden light, gorgeous with a soft smile on your lips. He felt himself smile uncontrollably as you leaned against his side, his hand finding yours, fingers slowly and gently intertwining.
It felt right, it felt like it was meant to be in the sweet, serene moment you shared together and Coco knew right then and there that he’d found the one for him. You were the one.
“Coco,” It came out as a whisper, warmth filling you when you realised how naturally your hand had fit in his, how wonderful his touch felt against yours. “Yeah, corazón?” He asked, barely above a whisper, his voice low and warm against your ear as he leaned against you.
“I… I’m-.” You cut yourself off with a sigh, eyes cast down at your feet, trying to hide yourself, the feeling of shyness overcame you.
“Hey, take your time, mi estrellita.” Coco hummed softly to you, his voice soothing as you drew in a deep, slow breath. But when you became too shy to respond, he smiled, bringing your hand up to his chest, prompting you to look at him, a bit too timid to hold his gaze fully. “Look at me, mi corazón.” Coco whispered, reaching over to lift your chin with his fingers.
You shared a comfortable moment of silence together, your hand resting against his chest, the background chatter and laughter of the fair adding to the ambience, the sun slowly lowering just enough to leave you bathed in a soft, hazy twilight.
“I know, I know that every time you look at me, you get shy.” Coco said, watching as you tore your gaze away from him quickly. “Hey hey, wait, hold on corazón.” He urged, tugging you back to him gently. “But I get butterflies every time I look at you, I get this fuckin’ uncontrollable smile whenever I see you lookin’ at me ‘cause fuck, ma, you drive me crazy.” He smiled to himself, his eyes lighting up as he spoke openly about how he felt.
“It drives me fuckin’ crazy whenever I think about you, I think ‘bout all this shit I wanna do with you, shit I’ve never wanted to do with anyone before.” He confessed, both of his hands holding yours to his chest as he spoke and you couldn’t help but look at him and wonder if you weren’t just dreaming. “Really?” You managed to get out. “Yeah, I can’t get’chu outta my mind.” Coco grinned, leaning down to press a kiss to the back of your hands.
“I wanna take you on a date, wanna make you happy in every way I can, in every way possible ‘cause you deserve nothin’ less.” He paused, drawing in a deep breath before his eyes met yours. “Will you let me do that? Will you let me make you my girl?” He asked softly, watching as you smiled, shyly nodding, a little taken aback by his sweet words.
“I’d love that, Coco.” You said, almost in a whisper, but Coco met you with a bright grin before he leaned in and gently pressed a kiss to your cheek.
“Mi estrellita.” He whispered, pulling you against his chest and holding you close, embracing you gently, his heart fluttering, feeling on top of the world, because Coco got his girl.
He found the one.
