I love how Sarah couldn't give a pig's whistle about Sam's Avenger friends in episode 1, until she saw Bucky and was like : "Damn. I take that back!" 😂😂😂

Some character-based tfatws thoughts...
One thing I am really appreciating about this show is that there is so much damn nuance in the characterisation, and I’m... welcoming all of the takes about it that appreciate that. :-)
There are no perfect characters here, not even Sam (though he comes closer than anyone except possibly Sarah - in fact just, the Wilson siblings are amazing <3 ). There are no uncomplicatedly evil characters either, though John and Zemo are both pretty villainous at this point (not that either started out like that...).
As for the rest?
Sharon may be up to some shady shit and her humour is vicious, but she’s been appallingly treated by her own country and neglected by the friends she gave up everything to help, and is still trying to do what she can for Sam’s mission despite everything.
Ayo fucked up badly when she removed Bucky’s arm (both in terms of personal bodily integrity and trust*). But she fucked up when feeling betrayed and furious, and her grief and anger at Zemo and frustration with Bucky are absolutely justified. She is compassionate (oh Gods, her tears in the flashback - it’s easy to notice how wonderful Sebastian Stan’s acting is in that scene but it’s he and Florence Kasumba working together that makes it work so beautifully), and awesome and heroic and wonderful. (Also her attacking John was spectacular. ;-) )
Karli has crossed some major moral lines by this point. But everything Sam says to and about her in this episode I think is spot on: she’s going about things badly, but she’s absolutely right about so much of what’s wrong and what overall is needed to fix it, and her charisma and intelligence and courage and compassion are extraordinary. I find it notable that the serum may have found some bad qualities in her to amplify but it found a hell of a lot of good ones too.
Lemar... oh Gods, Lemar. He backed John up on some horrible and highly xenophobic decisions/generally being an arse, but he’s fundamentally got some decency that John massively lacks and isn’t afraid to speak up against him when he sees the need. He deserved a better captain and friend to follow.
And Bucky. Who I adore, for so many reasons, he remains my favourite character in the mcu, but he’s fucked up so much in the show so far, most acutely in freeing Zemo, in letting himself be manipulated, and in some clanging moments of unchecked white privilege and ignorance towards Sam (especially but not only wrt the shield). He’s also coping with extraordinary amounts of untreated trauma and mental illness and grief, all with basically no help given him by his shitty government therapist. He’s massively not well enough to be doing the job he is currently doing. And he’s demonstrating that despite that he’s still incredibly loyal, reluctantly heroic, painfully determined, and trying damn hard to be someone other than what Hydra made him.
And the thing is this: I’m not interested in excusing any of the poor actions of any of these characters (I won’t excuse any of Sam’s or Sarah’s either if they, you know, actually make some at some point ;-) ). But excusing is not the same as understanding, and I like that that distinction is brought into such sharp relief in the show. Bucky and Ayo are currently at odds, with a mutual loss of trust, but I still love both and am rooting for them to become friends again at some point; picking sides would feel... odd. Karli... I hope is not doomed, either morally or physically, and I want the world that she wants. I’m deeply upset about Lemar. And I really hope Sharon has more surprises for us and can find some happiness.
(Also just, I’ve not talked much about Sam here because he’s just an angel, especially in episode 4, but I want every possible good thing for him just as much as I do for Bucky. They both deserve it.)
*As a side-note, I would also like to very gently encourage fans who are not physically disabled to please recognise that you may not be in a position to fully understand how viceral and shocking that moment is for those of us who are. I get why people are okay with it, I really do, and I was on Ayo’s side myself until that moment, but abled people (especially, at times, those involved in the provision of assistance devices) regarding themselves as having rights over the bodies and assistance devices of disabled people is everywhere and a massive part of how ableism works.

This was, by far, the most human episode I've ever seen. Maybe even in all of the mcu.
Sam still being considerate of Walker after he just murdered someone. (that takes A LOT. we've always seen superheroes let their fist do the talking first)
Sam and Torres just having a casual conversation with each other, and the mentor-student vibe of Sam passing down the wings to him.
Walker's breakdown when he was discharged. (Wyatt Russell was incredible)
The American government not being able to tolerate what their country represents, because that's exactly what Walker is. A human form of the USA.
Zemo and Bucky. The relief written all over Bucky's face when he takes back control of his narrative.
Ayo going back to calling Bucky, "White Wolf", the reestablishment of trust and the small smile she gives him.
The whole scene with Isaiah and Sam. Everything about it.
Sam coming back home, to where he's most comfortable, being among people he knows and loves.
Bucky and Sam fixing the boat. Do I need to explain?
Walker straight up lying to Lemar's family to make himself feel better. (let's be honest, it was a dick move, but it was human. People do that sometimes)
Bucky coming to terms with the fact that it was wrong for him to keep shoving Steve's legacy in Sam's hands (realizing a mistake and accepting that you were wrong is an incredibly human thing to do)
Bucky actually apologising to Sam. Not your dudebro or some superhero type bs. He actually apologized. With words.
Sam and Bucky talking it out. I'm pretty sure this was the longest emotional conversation in all of mcu (again, I need to ramble about this later)
Sam and Sarah talking. Sarah telling him how much she believes in him.
"what's the point of all that pain and sacrifice if I wasn't willing to stand up and keep fighting?"

⚠ TFATWS SPOILERS ⚠
Again, how do I start?
The fact that we got that little flashback with Bucky and Ayo in Wakanda, with her telling him that he's free. Man, I was fucking crying and the episode was just starting.
Bucky speaking Xhosa (thanks for the correction), yES PLEASE. I'm fangirling.
I just love how Sam wants to peacefully stop Karli, he knows what he has to do. He's my Captain America.
Remember when I said I liked Zemo for his dance moves? Well, I don't like him teasing Bucky. I don't.
Now, Walker wanting to take control of the situation and miserably failing at first was one of my favorite moments. I'm sorry.
Zemo calling him “aggressive”? Yes. That's the point and I'm scared!
No, and I can't stress this enough, fUCK YOU, JOHN WALKER FOR TRYING TO PLAY WITH BUCKY'S MIND. “Do you want his (Sam's) blood on your hands?” uuuuugh. That's exactly why people don't like you.
And then him fucking everything up when Sam was having a conversation with Karli. I just…
Zemo shooting Karli and destroying the serums except for one and Walker taking it. DAMN if USAgent is coming.
Karli, I might disagree with you in many things, but I'd let you kill Walker. Idk, just saying.
Zemo, again, but this time with that line of the trailers “Heroes are not allowed to exist” except, instead of heroes, it was super soldiers. Wow.
I'd like to talk about the Dora Milaje and how amazing they are. Like, they freaking defeated Walker as if it was nothing. #respect
+ that trick with Bucky's arm. And the arm flip thing. Ufffff.
The look on Walker's face when he realized he was defeated by women, “normal” women was priceless.
Sam referring to Zemo's way to escape as “El Chapo”. *laughs really hard en mexicano*
Walker kind of hesitating taking the serum by asking Lemar what he thinks had me feeling ???? Idk, he's just trying to do the right thing, but the wrong way. Still, I can't like him.
Karli calling Sarah and threatening her and her children was too much for me. Please, leave her alone.
That damn knife flip. That's it. That's the point.
Now, I kind of knew they would kill Lemar, but not in front of John, and that bringing him to kill someone in front of all that people with brutal force, not caring about it even though it was Karli who did it. I am afraid.
And finally, yes, the credits. I love how they keep changing.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier: Ep. 4 Takeaway
Uh. No. No, I was not in any way, shape, or form prepared for that heart-wrenching opening. That raw emotion. The gut-punching fear. The devastation. The soul massive relief from under all that fear and pain. No, I was not ready.
“She’s just a kid.” This is why Sam should be Captain America. Look, no one can replace Steve Rogers. There will never be another Steve Rogers. But that’s not the point. Sam isn’t meant to replace anyone. He’s meant to be his own Captain America. A man who has the heart and soul of a person who doesn’t go looking for a fight. A man who will fight when it needs to be done. A man who reaches out with compassion first and fists second. Sam is the Captain America this world needs in these modern times and tbh it doesn’t deserve him.
“Those are our friends you’re talking about.” “The Avengers, not the Nazis.” Thank you for your contribution, Bucky. 😂 No, but, I really liked the our friends. Not just my friends, but our friends and Bucky concurring with that by pointing out who Sam means.
Sam sharing the story about his TT. His family means so much to him as does community and I think that’s why he can relate to Karli and what she wants to do but also cannot condone how she’s going about it.
Yes, if anyone wondered, Baron Zemo would sell out his family to the White Witch for some Turkish Delight.
I do like Zemo stepping back into the more villainous role. While I enjoyed the humor from last episode, it never really sat right with me that they gave Zemo a “tragic” backstory. He was Hydra in the comics and it feels weird to me to change it in such a way. He was a supremacist so his new anti-supremacist ideals is...off-putting to me.
“It wasn’t just one community coming together. It was the entire world.” Hence why Sam can understand Karli’s goals.
Sam assuming the leadership role so much in the episode. So much foreshadowing to what’s (hopefully) to come.
When Bucky loses it with Zemo and Sam is like “Don’t engage. He’s just gonna extort you and do that stupid head tilt thing.” Not only is this more leadership from Sam it’s also showing how much he pays attention. He knows all their social cues. He knew Zemo was gonna do that probably before Zemo even did. In other words, Sam Wilson is remarkable.
Sam calling Sharon for help. I wasn’t expecting her again so soon. Yay!!
As soon as John Walker steps on screen I want to punch something.
“He’s dealt with worth. And he’s not my partner.” Look at Bucky backing Sam up while trying to play it cool. We all know you love him, Buck.
Sam talking to Karli. Coming to her from a place of understanding and genuinely trying to earn her trust because he does understand her pain. He’s filled with so much compassion and so much empathy and he knows how to employ both of them to better a situation and the world at large instead of coming in guns blazing. He gets it. And he wants Karli to know that he gets it. His approach to getting her to see that she’s going about it in the wrong way. But while she’s okay with acceptable loss, she in fact expects it, Sam is not. “No, it’s not a better place if you’re killing people. It’s just different.” Again, this is what makes him a good Captain America.
“He knows what he’s doing.” Bucky’s faith and trust in Sam when Walker is literally itching for a fight. That...cold, obsessed look in Walker’s eyes was chilling. (I’ve given kudos to Mackie and Seb for their acting but I should also acknowledge Wyatt Russel’s chilling performance))
Thank you, John Walker, for coming in and making things better oh wait, no. Just come in a fuck things up. Super of you.
Sam’s immediate “no” when Zemo asked if he’d take the serum if he was offered it and asking about Bucky being included in the “super soldiers cannot be allowed to exist.” “Blood isn’t always the solution.” Sam is just. I’m running out of words.
I’m now walking a thin line of patience with Bucky criticizing Sam over not taking the Shield. Like, yes, he’s right in that Steve’s wishes were not honored, but Sam is living the consequences wanting to do the right thing by giving the Shield to a museum. He did not and would not have ever handed it over to anyone to use, especially not a man like John Walker. Sam didn’t give it to him. The government did. The same way they’d’ve given the serum to a man like Gilmore Hodge. The same way they forced it upon Isiah Bradley and then experimented on him and locked him away. The same way they “agreed” that Sam was doing the right thing by turning the Shield over and then handing it to John Walker. This is not Sam’s fault.
I could take hours of Ayo and the Dora Milaje kicking John Walker’s ass.
Ayo and the Dora Milaje.
Did I mention Ayo and the Dora Milaje?
I really want to know what Ayo said to Bucky there**. After everything the Wakandans did for him, I can understand why she did what she did. She helped give his freedom and his mind back to him. I know Bucky only intercepted in that particular fight because Sam asked him to and he didn’t (not totally) want them to hurt Walker but. They gave him this place of freedom and his actions (breaking Zemo out, getting involved in their fight) did disrespect them.
The Dora stepping on and catching the Shield. SWOON.
“They weren’t even super soldiers.” Oh, boo freaking hoo. You don’t need the serum to be a superhero, dude. And the fact that you’re basing so much of this on that plus your obesssion to gt it just proves you’re not worthy of it.
“Power just makes a person more of themselves, right?” Vs. “Because a strong man, who has known power all his life, will lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows compassion."
Seriously, the expressions John Walker makes sends chills down my spine.
Karli calling Sarah. I actually thought she’d show up in person. Sarah’s comments about “Captain America” and her assurances that Sam is not working for Walker.
Sam’s immediate protectiveness when Sarah calls him and Bucky’s worry on his behalf. Sam’s anger with Karli when they meet again and the fact that he didn’t argue with Bucky for him wanting to come rather than Sam going in alone.
Sam and Bucky working together (anyone notice a lot less bickering??) is so amazing. I love them as a team.
Sam’s face when he realizes that Walker took the serum.
Quite honestly, if Bucky Barnes wanted to stab me with knives all night long, I’d let him.
Not happy with them killing Lemar for white man pain. I’m sure there were other ways they could have had Walker rage out.
That amazing parallel between Steve slamming the Shield down in Civil War to defend himself and Bucky and Walker killing a person who was just with Karli.
Speaking of parallels, there was SO many in this episode. The serum vials being shattered. The bursting through the doors Shield first. The jumping out of the window with the Shield. Just wow.
“The Whole World is Watching”. A quote from Black Panther when T’Challa did not kill Klaue, an actual terrorist. The title of this episode when John Walker kills a man who didn’t even incite his rage.
And, of course, that final image. I’m still shaking over it. If there’s a better image for what America represents to the rest of the world, idk what is. I just want to cry after seeing what this man is doing with it. This is why he’s U.S. Agent who represents the “power” and “strength” and “might” of the United States. Not Captain America who represents the ideals and hopes of what any country can be.
The acting in this is utterly incredible. The story has me reeling. My mind has been blown by each and every episode and I can’t believe there are only two left.
**Edit: Got it now! Thanks to those who messaged/replied!!

Episode 4
Let’s get started-
1. Lemar is dead which sucks cause he could have been redeemed
2. John is a super solider
3. John is a terrible person who deserves death
4. AYO IS MY QUEEN AND I AM SO HAPPY SHE KICKED JOHN’S ASS
5. Bucky crying was enough to get me crying
6. Zemo is making me uncomfortable with some of the things he says
7. Karli please kill John
8. Sam, Sharon, Zemo, Ayo, and Sarah are the only characters with brain cells
9. Sam was doing so well until everyones least favorite super solider stormed in
10. The Dora should have taken the shield and killed John
11. This. Is. The. Difference. Between. Sam&Bucky. and. John&Lamar
12(11 p. 2). John took it on purpose, Lamar said he would, Bucky didn’t have a choice, Sam said no
13. Sharon works for the power broker
14. Zemo just destroyed the serum
15. Karli threatened Sarah which is not ok
16. John is insecure about his masculinity
17. Sam and Bucky are very hot
18. The blood on the shield is why John will never be Steve
Those are my thought on the episode and I hope y’all have a good night.
PS: Originally there was going to be a virus subplot but it was cut cause it was too similar to COVID. Donya was supposed to die from this virus.

FATWS EPISODE -5 : The rollercoaster of emotions..
1)
Tumblr media
There will be never enough words to describe how important this scene is, how accurate it is and how emotionally wrecking it was. He was punished for helping people, jailed, tortured and experimented on...for what??? Being a soldier of this nation. Not only that..they ERASED him out of the history. His sacrifice, his pain was nothing?? They lied to his wife, and stole their precious moments from them..they made it personal.
I think I won't ever stop crying over his loss. But I am also glad that Sam knows this. This story won't be buried. In these (concerning and grave) times THIS scene, should affect everyone.
2) John just broke my last nerve?!?!?!?!?! What is up with him?!?!?!?!?! He tried to kill 2 people with the very shield that directly ties to them and them alone!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He tries to decapitate both of them and got stopped by the other one. He was unhinged!
Tumblr media
This moment right there scared me to no end. I am terrified of him. I really wanted to sympathise with him for Lemar, but he and that serum just took a turn.
The way he lied to Lemar's parents with no remorse, tho I want every single one of guilty Flag Smasher behind bars for killing Lemar and so many innocent people it still doesn't justify John brutally killing someone.
And this scene...
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
This foreshadows a pit government put themselves into. This is John Walkers villain origin story, and I can already see what amount of pain and destruction will it bring out. Irony tho here is, a white man still walks free after killing a person publically, yet, Isaiah was tortured for bringing people back home.
3) MADAM HYDRA?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Well if John goes Captain Hydra.....yikes
4) No you don't understand..this is too personal
Tumblr media
Just please look look..his unshed tears, his broken face. He- he wipes the blood of because, there mere thought of his friend's legacy getting tainted by innocent's blood..he could not see it, none of us could.. Pleasee I just lovee Sam...he is too precious.
5) So many strong emotions were swirling around but Domestic SamBucky just gave me boost of serotonin, that will last for weeks....
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Tumblr won't lemme post more gifs..but just look at 'em my soft babies)
6) I am sorry but I am soooo sooo soo soft for Bucky. He is willing to come to Sam if leads come. He SLEEPS PEACEFULLY ON THE SOFA. He flirts with Sarah(it was soo cute and Sam got all jealous).
Tumblr media
Lookiee...all bright smiles. Its like I wanted this carefree laugh for so long. Sam is so healthy for Bucky. And I will never get enough of Sam's therapy element. When he said it doesn't matter what Steve says...i cried. Buck apologising for not realising Sam's pov of taking the shield. I am in LOVE!
6.1) I knew it Bucky will bring Zemo to Wakanda...I like how Zemo acknowledges them and doesn't barges in their space. He has no grudge against Bucky.Zemo earned my respect. Ayo was happy with Buck. I knew Bucky is loved in Wakanda and he even got something special for someone special *wink wink*
7) Sam practicing with Shield. *chef's kiss*
8) Torres getting Falcon Wings, the whole fandom cheered, my boy deserves the world.
9) What's up with Sharon...please, is she trying to kill Sam????
10) Karli dealing with terrorist, No, Thank You. I dont like her.
11) 5 minute crafts with John Walker?!?!?!? Skskskskskskkssks...lmao I am dead.
And last but definitely my fav...
12) Sam......"what's in the booooox"!!! *wink wink*
I am not emotionally ready for this show to end..
(Any mistake in this is directly related to me being sleepy af, please dont hurt me)
*peace out*

♥️🖤Falcon and Winter Soldier♥️🖤 Reviews & Questions !!SPOILERS!! (duh!)
1. I love the Dora Milaje. I love Ayo. I love Bucky. I loved the scene.
2. Bucky is adopted. It's canon.
3. What is it with Europeans and Turkish Delights? Am I just not getting the authentic ones? Because I've tried them before and they weren't all that amazing.
4. I love Wyatt Russell. But I hate John Walker.
5. Zemo telling that little girl that Sam and Bucky were bad men- and yet. I still trust him more than I trust Walker.
5a. I appreciate though how he used a nursery rhyme and candy. Such a villain thing to do.
6. Not everyone had been tainted by the serum. Steve wasn't tainted. Bucky wasn't. (not at first, Zola hadn't official started torturing him yet.) Isaiah wasn't.
7. Watching this episode- I realized something. Steve never knew that he was going to get serum injected in him. All Steve wanted was a chance to fight for his country. That's it. That's all Steve wanted.
7a. But now- everyone just wants the serum. And the reason why it doesn't work, is because people want it.
8. "Someone who understands that today's heroes don't have the luxury of keeping their hands clean."
9. Sharon is working for somebody. She is. I want the show to elaborate on that.
10. Trust is earned. Walker should've stayed out of Bucky and Sam's way. Walker needed patience.
11. Did they really think Zemo couldn't get out of cuffs? Idiot.
12. Thank you, Zemo! For having a brain. For realizing how drunk people get on power.
13. Walker, this makes me like you even less.
14. Dora Milaje. They can go anywhere they wish. They have immunity.
14a. Also he should've known better then to touch them.
14b. But at least Bucky and Sam true to stop them...let's just not mention that Zemo escaped.
15. "They didn't even need the serum." Uh- duh. They are trained to fight from the age of like 2.
16. They were gonna take the shield, and I was all for it.
17. Bucky. You should've known better.
18. Karli- you ever threaten Sam's nephews again, so help me-
19. Sarah has a point, gotta admit. But I think if Sam kept the shield, she'd be all for it.
20. Knives.
21. Bucky catching the knife. 😍😍
23. Lemar. Honestly, I think he's make a better Cap than Walker.
24. John Walker you idiot.
25. Okay. Even though I wasn't a fan of the character, Lemar- 😔😭
26. Walker didn't have a moral compass from the start. He maybe the soldier, but he was never a good man. Being blinded by rage and grief... and how different that was from Steve... 💔
27. The symbol was tainted when they handed him the shield. It's officially stained now.

My thoughts on this HOLY SHIT episode
Wakanda. I mean. Ayo training Bucky to set him free from his triggers. Bucky having learned to speak wakandan. That whole scene was yet another "we wanted it so badly we thought it would only happened in fanfictions but they delivered it and oh God it was even better"
My mood everytime Zemo: "shut up." Doesn't even have to talk. Just... Sir, you're a manipulative killer with way too much charisma and fashion sense.
I loved how both Sam and Walker had to answer the question "would you take the serum?" and that it wasn't purely rhetorical even for Sam. Really highlights who is supposed to be Cap between the two of them.
Actually skipping a bit: "They gave me 3 supreme medals for the worst day of my life... Imagine how many lifes I could save with the serum." Walker is a deep and complex character. The way he said "for the first time, I felt I was doing the right thing" is terrible. Because he truly wants to do the right thing, he truly believes he is doing the right thing but he doesn't see he's doing it wrong.
Sam shone so much in this episode. Especially the talk with Karli. And thanks for bringing up again he was a vet therapist.
Thank you Lemar for talking Walker into giving Sam a chance.
Shut up Zemo for doing THAT face when Walker handcuffed you.
Bucky staying in the doorway to prevent Walker from coming in be like "I'll say we're not partners in his face but I trust this man with my life and everyone's life on this planet." And the way Walker got it and told him about having Sam's death on his conscious if he didn't move... Fuck you Walker.
Fuck you Walker bis (for ruining Sam's effort).
Zemo freed himself. I think this time he's really gone.
I can't tell you how insanely shocked (and afraid) I was when Zemo started shooting at Karli and how insanely SATISFIED I was when he crushed all those vials of the serum.
Dora Milaje. Do I need to say more?
"And they're not even super soldiers." No, but they're super trained, Walker.
Bucky making fun of Walker having his ass kicked by the Dora was everything I needed in my life.
The sheer amount of shock on his face when Ayo detached his arm! Also "Bast curse you James" like the use of THAT name (Shuri: "Sergeant Barnes" - Bucky) implied so much deception from Ayo it hurt.
This time, Zemo's truly gone. I am a bit disappointed ngl.
Karli threatening Sarah Wilson. I don't care if she never meant any of this, I hated her so much for simply falling that low.
Speaking of which: I don't believe the Flag Smashers are all on board with Karli's new methods. Like, I loved how they showed that some of them were unsettled by the arson but at the same time, that Karli gained news allies too.
Honorable mention for Sharon. I didn't get what she was doing but our boys would be so lost without her and I liked seeing her even briefly.
Lemar. My heart leggit stopped.
That last scene... The brutality on Walker's face, the fear on the other guy's, the fucking shot of the edge of that damn shield! NO, DAMMIT!
I don't remember the last time I got these many emotions. I was on edge for almost the whole episode and I'm still trembling from it like, it's not "better than the 3 previous episodes," this is a whole new level.
