Definitely check out your local libraries for books pertaining to your devotion and/or witchcraft! You honestly don’t know what you might find! Like this book I randomly came across and requested from a local library!
Tumblr media
And then I found this one available as an ebook through the Libby app using my library card!
Some libraries also offer out of state requests where you can see about getting books from libraries in other states! Right now my library is trying to get a hold of a book about Apollo’s cults in Sparta! 🤞🏻 a library agrees to send it!
So when you’re looking for information about a god, ancient practices, mythology, history, or even when you’re curious about a witchcraft book (yes a lot of libraries have those too or can get them for you!) don’t forget the invaluable resource that is your local libraries!

Two weeks orbiting the BTS twitter sphere…
Honestly, I feel like whoever becomes a BTS fan during the hiatus era is on an inevitable trajectory to become a solo.
I could be wrong, and I, myself, am hanging in there tight.
I do have a question, however, like I see the obsession with keeping songs on the charts and hitting milestones, when did that start?
No hate to anyone, I am genuinely curious. We had Taehyung’s release a couple of weeks ago, and now Hobi’s album dropped, but I am still seeing a lot of people (both army and solos) pushing to stream Like Crazy, Standing Next To You, 3D, Seven and Love Me Again for *milestones*.
I get streaming for 8 artists is fucking brutal. But *milestones* when we have new releases?
Please someone explain, I am losing my mind here. And I am not gonna ask on twitter, no way, I value my life too much.
And don’t even get me started on Hybe and the BigHit situation, I am still trying to wrap my head around it. And the hyung line neglect (how dare they!)
Anyway, stream FRI(END)S and Hope On The Street!

The voice actor who does Peter Parker’s Spidey in the Edge Of Time video game sounds just as good as CDB. I haven’t compared his voice to Shattered Dimensions Spidey yet, though.

CROCHET RINGS!
Do any of you use them? Do you have recommendations? My brother by law is trying to find one to gift his wife/my sister, and reached out to ask if I had any input. Anything useful you can point me at for him would be great!

I literally love it when I casually mention that I'm researching something, and people immediately ask me about it. I was skimming through a Wikipedia article on Beltane, and when I mentioned it to Idi, he asked a total of 3 questions. "What is it, what religion is it from, what do they do?" I immediately started reading, not just skimming through it, so I could properly answer. I now have a whole paragraph written about Beltane traditions, and I'm so so so happy

Anyone have recommendations for small online businesses that sell books? Please indeed! Amazon is starting to get too big for me wanting to buy from them and BAM is replacing my favorite section with just history, which I like but can’t find half of what I want:/

So my friend posted on their instagram story a video about how god told someone that new Jerusalem will be built on a foundation of 12 gemstones, and that these gemstones are all anisotropic, or that they shine all sorts of different colours under polarised light (or what the speaker referred to as ‘pure’ light), so the kingdom of god was built only with materials that looked good in pure light, and that polarisation wasn’t discovered till the 19/20th century but god knew it thousands of years in advance therefore he must be real. But, like, the list of stones is a translation. Other translations have different stones some of which are isotropic so are just black in polarised light. You shouldn’t really ever take an English bible verse’s specifics because translation is up for interpretation.
EVEN THEN, anisotropy isn’t something invisible to the naked eye. Polarised light occurs naturally, and even in unpolarised light anisotropic stones shine differently to isotropic stones. If the stones were all chosen specifically because of their properties (and don’t even get me started on how this property was cherry picked), it’s very possible that someone living in that time period in that area would choose those 12 stones (once again we are not sure what stones they are because the original text is vague) because they share a similar property that they are able to see. It doesn’t prove that they had knowledge they shouldn’t have.
This is something that irritates me whenever people use the “this science didn’t exist yet” argument. Human knowledge isn’t a constant gradient. It’s even a 2D graph of knowledge against time. Hell, it’s not even a 3D graph. You’ve got knowledge, time, location, and area of knowledge. With roman concrete, for example, they weren’t given the recipe by Zeus or Hephaestus or whatever, they discovered a type of concrete with certain properties, then the recipe was lost so we had to discover it again. History is hard, especially with how far back these things can go, and we don’t know all that these people knew. They weren’t magically less intelligent than us because they’re from a previous time period.
Anyway. Yes. Sorry. Meow. You’re very cute. Nya.
