"Who was responsible for this?" You ask in a stern voice.
"That would be my team." Taeil says bowing his head in apology.
"Bring them in." You order. “Now."
Quickly the man leaves your office coming back followed by three other. You look at them recognising each one. Johnny Suh. Jung Jaehyun. And Lee Taeyong.
"I'm not gonna bother asking who's fault is this but you have one hour to get this sorted." All four of them bow and are about to leave the room until you interrupt. "Here. I want to see you fix this mess. Sit down.”
In a blink of an eye everybody takes a seat and gets down to work. With a sigh you walk around your desk and sit on your chair.
"Ahreum," you call into your speaker, "move my 3 o'clock to 4 and re-schedule me 4:30 for tomorrow.”
With a positive response you lean back, watching all man concentrated on their laptops, tension filling the air. You've been an office manager for a long time in this company and that has built up the respect you surely deserve. Some may call you mean or even a bitch, but you just like things done properly on a timely fashion and when that doesn't happen, well you need to take proper measures.
At ten minutes to the deadline you ask for an update and team leader Moon Taeil ensures you they're almost finished, but you don't take it for granted until you see it.
"All done." He finally announces and all eyes focus on you.
"Copy me in on the apology email to the client." You order as he rapidly types on the keyboard.
"In behalf of the team we apologise." They all stand up and bow.
"Just make sure this doesn't happen again, Moon." You warn and they leave.
“Yes, ma’am.”
With a sigh you go on with the rest of the day, a boring meeting where you pretend to be the nicest person in the world to score the deal, answering some emails and before you know it it's already past your time to go.
After packing your things, you put away your work phone and grab your personal when, smiling when you see a specific text.
Master: we still on for tonight?
You: yup. 8pm. My place.
Leaving the already empty office you rush home to make some food and get ready for the night.
Checking the clock, your leg shakes in anticipation as you wait on your couch. At 8 sharp the door bell rings and you jump up, almost running to answer.
"Hi, taeyong." Your greeting sounds relieved and he smirks. "Come in.”
Taking off his shoes and jacket, he walks into the living room like he owns the place.
You take one last look in the mirror, making sure you look good before you turn to him, awaiting his call.
"Come here." He nods his head and you take a step forward before he stops you. "Not like that.”
Understanding exactly what he means, you get down on all fours, crawling your way to him. At his feet, you kneel but keep your head down, knowing not to look him in the eye without permission.
"Good girl." He pats your head making your insides tingle. "Look at me.”
Instantly you glance up, almost melting at the way he looks at you, like he can't wait to ruin you.
"Are you gonna behave today?" Eagerly you nod making him chuckle. "Show me.”
Lifting your hands, you slowly undo his belt, then unbutton his slacks and slide the zipper down. Still making eye contact with him, you push his pants to the floor followed by his underwear, resisting the urge to look at his half hard cock inches away from your face. Your hand moves up his thigh to grab it and blindly align it with your mouth.
"I think you can do better than that." He challenges as he steps out of his pants. "No hands.”
Dropping your arms to your sides, you open your mouth and try to find his cock while your eyes are still on his.
"You're such a pathetic little whore." He mocks you as he takes of his shirt, leaving him completely naked. "but pathetic little whores always get what they want, don't they?”
You struggle to nod as you get more of his dick inside your mouth. Once you get to the base, you feel your eyes water and you move your head back starting to feel a gag reflex, but Taeyong has other plans. His hand falls to the back of your head pushing it back to him. Struggling, you focus on breathing through your nose until he finally let's you go.
"That's it. Good girl." He praises with a smirk, wiping a tear that was rolling down your cheek. "Now show me you can keep it up.”
Your hair is bunched up on a pony before you're forced back on his length. But this time you were ready and move back and forth, hollowing your cheeks as you suck him. He hisses and you take it as an incentive, adding your tongue to the mix, knowing damn well it drives him crazy.
"You're pulling all the tricks today, aren't you?" He says through clenched teeth as his cock grows into your throat.
Moaning with your mouth full, you can already feel your panties sticking to your wet pussy. A lot of women don't particularly enjoy giving head but to you it's a freaking pleasure, specially when you're being roughly guided into it.
"Ok, that's enough." You gasp as Taeyong pulls your head away, strings of your saliva and his pre-cum keeping you connected. "Get up.”
With his hand still gripping your hair, you pull yourself up, standing right in front of him.
"Look at you. So nasty." He comments, spreading the mess around your mouth with his thumb. "Who's my dirty little whore?”
"I am." Your voice is small and you can feel your throat getting sore already.
"Yes, you are." Leaning forward, he gives you a sloppy kiss, tasting himself on your mouth. "Come with me.”
Following him to the couch, you patiently wait for his next instructions, pretty aware of the mess between your legs pushing through the pink lace underwear you decided to wear tonight.
"Sit down." He orders and you don't waste another second. "Open up, I'm hungry now.”
Taeyong watches your legs part as wide as you possibly can, smirking at your arousal.
"Look at that, I haven't even touched you." A small whine leaves your mouth, desperate for his touch. "Maybe I should teach you a lesson on being patient.”
"Please..." The word leaves your lips before you can even think and he chuckles.
"But since you said ‘please…'" He mocks your tone getting down on his knees in front of you.
His tongue rolls out and takes a long lick over the wet lace, making your head fall back with a shaky sigh. He starts eating you out over the fabric, the friction adding to the pleasure. Slowly his hands making their way up your thighs, through your sides until they cup your breast that are still covered with a matching lace bra. His fingers tease your already hard nipples about to poke through and you can't help moan at the added feeling.
Gripping the pillows on the couch, you crave for his direct touch, without the lingerie set in the way, but you wouldn't dare ask for it, when you started your little arrangement you both agreed he could do anything he wanted and you just had to obey and endure. When you put it like that it may seem like an unfair deal for you, but being used so carelessly is what really gets you hot.
The orgasm builds up rapidly inside, you don't know how Taeyong always manages to get you to cum so quickly and with so little, but maybe the reverse roles outside the office plays a part on it. Soon you feel it taking over you, your back arching of the couch as you moan his name out loud.
"I thought you were going to behave." His head comes up between your legs, his tongue licking his lips. "Who told you you could cum?”
"I'm sorry..." You whisper, still breathless as you come down your high.
"Oh, you will be." Standing back up he admires your body. "Cause I'm about to wreck you.”
You yelp when he suddenly grabs your hips pulling you forward and up. Your head now rests on the seat as the rest of your body is upside down, ass resting against his crotch.
"Let's get this out of the way." He fully rips your underwear out of your body. “Oops..."
The way he stares down to your fully exposed core tells you he's not even sorry he ruined one of the most expensive lingerie sets on your closet. Giving a few pumps on his still hard dick, he lays it right between your folds, moving his hips back and forward to create friction against your pussy.
"You're going to take my cock like a good girl?" You nod as you can, biting your lip. "Let's see about that.”
His length easily slips into your wet hole, the strange angle making you feel like never before. Taeyong starts moving in and out of you, quickly picking up a good pace that turns you into a moaning mess.
"Look at this. " Glancing up you can't believe your eyes when you see his bulge through your stomach. "I'm fucking you so deep you can see it.”
You don't know why the scene turned you on so much but you can already feel your second orgasm approach. And apparently, so can he.
"Don't you dare cum before I say so." He warns, fucking you harder and faster.
"Please..." You plea, desperate for release.
"As much as I love to see you beg, you’re going to have to hold on just a bit longer.” As he bites his lip you can tell he’s close too. “Master needs his release first.”
Clenching your walls you hope to speed up the process, because you know you really won’t be able to hold it much longer.
“You nasty little slut.” Taeyong hisses. “You want my cum?”
“Yes, please!” You almost yell in despair.
“Oh yeah?” You can feel his thrusts getting sloppy. ”I’m gonna fill you up so good. And you’re going to take it all.”
“Give it to me master, please!” You mumble between moans.
“You want it that bad?” He groans with a smirking. “Here it comes.”
Strings of hot cum paint your insides, his pace slowing but not stopping.
“Go on, your time now.”
With a warm feeling inside you let your self go, body trembling in pleasure as he gives a few final thrust before halting his moves still buried inside you. If he wasn’t still holding your hips in place, you’re sure your body would’ve fallen, half on the couch, half on the floor.
“Look at this.” Taeyong slowly gets his dick out of you, watching your hole clench around nothing, full of his cum. “So beautiful.”
As your breathing gets back to normal you start to feel the pain in your back from the awkward position you’re still in. When you moan, in pain this time, he understands and carefully positions your body back down on the couch.
“Was that good?” He asks, sitting down next to you.
“Don’t be so needy, Taeyong.” You scoff, getting up. “Order us some food, I’m gonna take a shower.”
“Yes, ma’am.”

Riding Yoongi Thoughts | NSFW
Tumblr media
credit: sugasuite  |  drabble inspired by the above gif.
A/N: As an apology for being late on Taehyung’s Bangtan in Bed Chapter because my life has been kicking my butt. Please take this smutty drabble i wrote awhile ago as an apology and a smutty filler for a bit as i catch up on my writing. :)
Rating: 18+
Wordcount: 914
This is exactly what I imagine riding him he would look like. Telling him to keep those pretty hands of his behind his back as you roll your hip down onto his cock. His head thrown back, neck on full display, pretty pink lips wet from his tongue running over them in the prolonged anticipation built up till this moment. You have been teasing him for a while at this point. Getting off on his cock without actually letting him enter you. Just grinding along his cock coating him in your own wetness and letting him get off on your body.
You know, boredom can make a person do insane thing. Things like dressing down to only wearing a thong and a tight-fitting crop top before walking by an open door that just so happens to be the door to yoongi’s at home studio. Stopping right before the door announcing you are going to go take a shower and walking away before he can reply, leaving one very confused and conflicted yoongi behind. After taking a quick shower and forgetting a change of clothes (oops) having to walk all the way back to your room, passing again past yoongi’s still very open door. Having one thing lead to another and riding your boyfriend in his studio? Insane.
He is sitting in his chair pants at his ankles as you are in his lap, your right arm reached behind you holding on to the desk and you’re left holding his cock flush to your body as you grind along him. His head thrown back giving you a perfect look at his neck. He has always had such a nice neck, so pretty and masculine. So inviting you just can’t help but kiss and bite down it eliciting those beautiful low groans of his. The ones that have you frustrated and ready to give up on your previous mission. You just want to feel him at this point. You want to feel him as he is pressing into you, stretches you out, and fills you up just like you deserve.
So you act on your instincts without warning him. His head is still thrown back, eyes closed, and jaw slack as you lift up your hips and line him up with your entrance sinking down on him. His head snaps up looking at you. “F-Fuck baby“ locking eyes still sinking down on him he half groans whimpers eyes falling closed again. When you bottom out on him you start clinching around him just causing more profanities and whimpers to come tumbling out of those pretty swollen lips. Running your hands down his neck to his chain pulling his chest flush to your own, you start to pick up speed. Slamming your hips down in a rolling motion upon his thighs and reminding him to not move those hands. “You wanna be good for me baby? Yeah? Don’t move those hands”
Normally Yoongi has a pretty good stamina when it comes to sex and can go for quite a while but tonight? Oh, he’s faltering bad. Maybe it’s the fact that he doesn’t sub that very often..? Making this semi-new experience that so much more overwhelming for him.? or The fact that you basically were edging him earlier when you were grinding on him? or Maybe it could be the fact that he loves and I mean LOVES when you ride him? But tbh it's probably a combination of everything plus the fact that he really needed this today. He needed his baby and It’s so great this is happening except the fact that he’s about to cum and you just started properly riding him. He can’t finish before you he can’t!
Leaning back you grab hold of the desk with both your hands getting some leverage and grinding down even harder on Yoongi bringing you both closer. Looking up you capture a glimpse of his nose scrunching up, a little tell he has for when he’s close and about to come, signaling to you he won’t be long. You duck your head down and run your fingers through his hair, pulling his head back again and kissing down his neck reaching his shoulder-blade switching between sucking there and nibbling at it. Yoongi always has been one to love his hair pulled and his pretty neck is always so sensitive it’s no wonder he starts whining, pleading to touch you. He’s close and he wants to feel you. You won’t let him. He’s so close but he can’t finish before you. BUT he’s so close. Fuck it! He brings his hands forward, one hooking around your waist pushing you down as he is pushing his hips up. The other moving in between your legs working you closer. Then finally kissing at your chest and flicking his tongue around your nipples. He looks up at you w/ pleasing eyes and just like that you’re cumming. He starts fucking you through your high and finally eliciting his own a few moments after.
Both panting and sweaty from your little workout you just had. You now realize you’re going to have to take another shower. Oh, well, it was worth seeing Yoongi relax a bit from his work. You know he’s going to have to get back to his project soon so while you have his attention you decide it’s best to clean up and cook some. Grabbing one still post-sex dazed Yoongi you pull him off to the shower.

‘Why am I nervous? We've done much more than just kiss. For fucks sake! I'm the mother of his child.’
You took a few deep breaths to calm yourself down before pushing the cart from behind your truck towards the large glass doors of the café. You had offered to take today’s batch of bread and pastries to Levi’s to snag a chance to see him, much to Mikasa’s annoyance.
“Oi, brat! You’re late.”, Levi remarked without looking up from his laptop when the bell above the door rang with your entrance, expecting her to have finally arrived.
“Levi, I’m so sorry! I made an impromptu decision to come here instead of Mikasa and -”, you emerged from behind the lofty stack of boxes.
Your hair was up in a messy bun, you were panting from hauling the weight and the resultant perspiration made you glow. Your continual rambling about why you were late, instantly gave him a feeling of Déjà vu, hurling him eight years back in time to the morning when he first laid his eyes on you.  Mirroring that day, he couldn’t focus on anything you were saying, gawking at you with unblinking eyes given how stupefied he was by the sight before his eyes and the sound of your voice.
“Levi? Are you listening?”, you waved your hand in front of his face, disrupting the mental movie playing in his head.
“Huh? Oh, y-yeah. Hi.” he shook his head vigorously and blinked a few times to bring himself back to the present.
Both a blushing mess, you stood by the entrance to the cafe, smiling at each other like two smitten high-schoolers.
“Are you finally back together?”, a shriek from the opposite end of the seating area made your ears ring.
The cacophony was loud enough that Erwin’s head immediately peaked out of his office; his face riddled with confusion. Both your necks snapped towards the source - Hange was running in your direction with the brightest grin on their face. Every head in the room was turned towards you. Eren and other new members of staff at the café, Armin, Jean, Sasha and Connie were slack jawed with their gaping eyes fixed on you after being subjected to this abrupt and unnecessary announcement. One look from Levi sent them scrambling back to work.
“Fucking four-eyes.” he mumbled as they came closer.
“I knew it! You lovebirds couldn’t stay apart for long!”, they squealed with joy enveloping you both in an spontaneous group hug, not giving Levi an opportunity to flinch away.
“Shhh! Calm down, Hange! We’re not back together. Yet.”, you tugged on their hands trying to free yourself from their clasp.
Levi's eyes met and stayed on yours when you uttered the last word, the way his heart fluttered at the sound of it clearly reflecting on his face.
Yet.
“But you were together last night. You have both put in way too much effort in your appearances today. And the color on Short-stack's cheeks can be spotted from Mars! What am I missing here?”, they observed, unaware of the heat rising within their two friends thinking about their final moments together at the Ackerman home yesterday.
Always the perceptive one, Hange. They weren’t entirely wrong. You did spend forty minutes in your closet hunting for the one floral lemon-yellow dress that Levi loved seeing you in; piling on deodorant while simultaneously cursing the hot summer. You picked your reflection in the mirror apart for way too long, fiddling with the necklace he bought you ages ago while rehearsing what you would say to him.
By the looks of it, he did too. He looked oh-so handsome today. Granted, he always did. But today was different. He wore your favorite navy-blue button-down shirt with slate grey slacks, sleeves folded to reveal his toned fore arms, and the top two buttons left open to aid with the sweltering heat; or was it because he knew that it made you weak in the knees when he wore his shirts that way? And his cheeks and ears were definitely a brighter shade of pink than the raspberry compote on the cheesecake you brought.
He stood pinching the bridge of his nose, his breathing starting to speed up. You figured it was his attempt at suppressing the strong urge to smack the grin right off Hange’s face.
“Hange, I promise, I’ll give you all the details later. But for now, Levi and I have things to discuss.”, you pulled him away before he could act on his impulse.
Taking a seat at the table by the large bay window, kissed by the morning sun, you watched the city slowly rise awake with your cheek resting on the palm of your hand. Levi, who was walking back from the kitchen with a cup of tea for himself and a caramel latte for you, stopped in his tracks to mentally frame this image. It was as if you were a different person than who he met over the last two days.
There were no signs of the anxious but adoring mother from yesterday nor the bewildered, pained ex-wife from the day before; you were the same clumsy, moody, garrulous, as well as kind, selfless and mesmerizing woman he fell madly in love with when you walked in through the doors of this very place eight years ago. How could one person flood his heart with a barrage of different emotions this way?
You acknowledged him with a soft ‘hi’ accompanied by a smile when he sat down on the chair opposite to you, nervous about the forthcoming conversation. You stole occasional glances at each other while sipping your beverages, hesitating to be the one to say the first word.
“Do you hate me?”, he asked out of the blue, his gaze locked on his cup.
“No! Why would you think that?”
“Uh- you obviously had a chance to think about what I said to you after going home last night. Why would you possibly want to still see me?”
“Well, I’m here, aren't I? I want to work on us if you’re willing to try as well, Levi. I want to see where this takes us.”, you smiled, placing your hand on his.
"Me too."
.
.
Four months later
The day of Suki and Furlan's wedding was finally here. The venue was set, guests had arrived and you were busy helping the bride get ready for her special day, having spent all morning with her, Isabel and the other bridesmaids in the bridal suite, chatting away in excitement and anticipation for the day ahead.
“Honestly speaking, Suki, I’d have a hard time keeping my hands off you if I were Furlan”, you teased while draping the veil into her hair, causing her to bury her face into her palms.
“You’re one to talk! Levi has been looking for reasons to see you all morning. I had to turn him away thrice already. I'm pretty sure he is going to murder me after the wedding is over.”, Isabel shot back with a smirk.
The last four months had been nothing short of a whirlwind. After that morning at the cafe, having breakfast with Levi turned into a routine. He brought Luna along on most days, and the three of you spent time chatting and admiring the toddler’s antics over tea and scones while sitting at your usual table by the bay window. Sometimes you’d have her accompany you to the patisserie to give Levi a much-deserved break.
Everyone there was enamored with the little firecracker. Her Uncle Miche had always been her favorite because the gentle giant ferried her around the large kitchen on his shoulders. Bertholdt and Reiner would happily comply to all the orders their mini boss belted out. Annie, although a little awkward around her, listened intently to her endless stories; Mikasa secretly pampered her with numerous treats even after several warnings from you, and Nanaba would fuss over her all the time and try to keep the little one all to herself, earning protests from the others.
The evenings varied between taking Luna to the park or the pier, or just spending time indoors at your place or his. You even celebrated her fourth birthday two weeks ago. All your friends and family, along with some little friends the birthday girl had made at the park were invited. You spent a beautiful evening in the backyard of your house around a bonfire, with a delectable meal and wonderful company.
Levi especially made sure you knew that you were being wooed by taking you out on date nights every now-and-then to the finest of restaurants, walks on the beach, to the drive-in theater a few miles outside your town, or star gazing from your favorite spot up the nearby hill. You both were working through your differences and had barely had any disagreements during the time spent together. Things were slowly falling in place; in fact, this newly re-built relationship with him felt much stronger than ever before.
The flashback ended when the wedding planner knocked on the door indicating it was time for the ceremony to begin. You, Isabel, and the other bridesmaids ushered Suki to her designated spot, making sure her dress, hair, make up and flowers looked perfect.
.
.
Standing at the altar by Furlan’s side as his best man, Levi was relieved that he would finally be seeing you soon after being apart all morning. Lately, the two of you spent most of your time together; and this sudden separation had him feeling restless.
On cue, the two harpists seated on either side of the rows began to play heavenly tune of ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perry, a prompt for the bride’s party to start making their way towards the altar. He watched patiently as bridesmaids accompanied by groomsmen walked down the aisle, waiting for you to finally appear. He almost forgot to breathe when your form eventually entered the nave, walking a short distance behind Isabel and one of Furlan’s friends.
You wore the emerald gown from your encounter with him at the store four months ago, and looked a million times more beautiful this morning. Your usually open hair was tied into an elegant loose braid with some curly strands framing your face. The sun rays falling on your silhouette from the towering stained-glass windows of the church made you look like an angel descending solely upon him. He finally began breathing again when you smiled at him and mouthed “breathe”, after taking your position at the altar.
Levi only peeled his eyes away from you when Luna’s giggles reverberated off the stone walls as she waddled down the aisle, scattering petals of baby pink roses, about the same shade has her chubby cheeks, on the ivory carpet. You wiped a stray tear rolling down your face as you both proudly watched her play the part of a flower girl with utmost perfection. Upon making it to the end, she ran to you and buried her face in your gown, suddenly feeling shy from the cheers and applause she received from the smitten guests.
You instantly scooped her up and held her close, letting her nuzzle into the crook of your neck, cooing sweet words of encouragement into her ears. Levi was so taken by this divine scene before him that he failed to notice the bride's much awaited walk down the aisle; surprised to directly find Suki standing at the altar, facing Furlan with her lips curved into the widest smile before his attention found you and Luna again.
He lost track of how long he was marveling at his two perfect girls for, until he felt an elbow harshly crash into his ribs, knocking the wind out of his lungs.
“Is this revenge for your wedding?”, Furlan frowned.
Levi blankly stared at him, having no clue what he was talking about
“Ring, Levi!”, the fuming groom growled.
Oh, right. He pursed his lips in embarrassment melting under the scrutiny of the baffled guests while he handed over the ring that was in the safety of his blazer’s pocket. His eyes darted towards an alarmed Suki and silently apologized to her. Then his gaze moved back to you, an impish smirk on your face as you stared back at him, knowing exactly what was going on in his mind.
Fuck! Furlan was not going to let this go for a long time.
Luna had lost interest in the festivities midway through the nuptials and had fallen asleep in your arms. After the ceremony, when everyone began to make their way outside the chapel, Levi swiftly moved over to walk beside you and offered to carry the snoozing toddler. You groaned after her weight left your body, stretching your sore shoulders and aching back .
“Stop that. You have no idea how hard it is to control myself from jumping your bones, especially when you look this gorgeous.”, Levi whispered in your ear, snaking an arm around your waist.
You glanced around awkwardly making sure his words did not fall on any prying ears and gave him a quick smack on the shoulder, trying to suppress the heat creeping up your neck.
.
.
Time skip – Evening
The wedding reception was underway. You sat at a table sipping lemonade, watching the newlyweds grooving to the beats of music being played by DJ Zeke. Levi swapped his usual glass of Macallan for a cup of ginger lemon tea; His reason being that his throat was sore from carrying out best man duties. But you knew he was just being supportive of your goal to stay off alcohol.
Erwin and Hange sat by the bar, socializing with Furlan’s Boss, Mr. Pyxis while Luna was busy playing duck-duck-goose with some new toddler friends she made at the venue. Levi needed to be physically restrained from ambushing Isabel who he had discovered slow dancing with the same groomsman that walked alongside her at the ceremony. Miche and Nanaba were spotted in a rare public embrace, dancing leisurely to the slow music; and your army of helpers consisting of Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Sasha, Connie, Reiner, Bertholdt and Annie took the lead on setting up tables as yours and Levi’s patisserie and café were the official caterers for the evening.
The choice of DJ Zeke's next track brought a sparkle to your eyes. Your smile spread from ear to ear when ‘Fly me to the Moon' by Frank Sinatra emanated from the speakers. You sang along and began swaying cheerfully in your seat to the melody.
“Remember, Levi? This was the song we had our first dance to at our wedding.” you reminisced; a nostalgic smile spread across your face.
“How can I forget?”, he asked.
His eyes were unfocused, lost in memories of his own. He remembered how ethereal you looked in your white wedding dress. How your diamond jewelry shimmered under the spotlight, how you whispered honeyed words into his ears when he felt exceptionally uncomfortable dancing in public, how warm your hands felt wrapped around his body, how your breath tickled his neck. He’d give anything just to go back and relive that moment.
You gaze was still lost among people enjoying themselves on the dance floor when a stretched-out hand entered your line of vision. Your eyes followed it to land on Levi’s face. A quirk in your eyebrows wordlessly asked him what this action meant.
“Let's dance.”, he said.
“You, Levi Ackerman, are willingly asking me to dance? Did someone spike your tea?” You smirked, earning an eye roll from him.
“Oi, brat! Let’s go before I change my mind.”
“Only if you ask nicely.”
“May I have this dance with you, my love?”
You accepted and the pair of you headed towards the dance floor. He gently pulled you close to him and firmly held on to your hand. His other hand wrapped firmly around your waist and you rested yours on his shoulder. You both moved to the slow rhythm in perfect harmony, as you drowned in those gorgeous blue-grey eyes. It felt like the world around you had dissolved and it was just the two of you and the music.
“You look nice today. I see you bought the same gray suit you hated with a fiery passion.”, you teased.
“How could I not after you said you liked it?”
You looked over his shoulder to Suki and Furlan flashing you a wide grin from across the dance floor. And so did Hange, Miche and Nanaba from over that the bar. Erwin gently raised his drink in your direction. The heat from the from the sudden metaphorical spot light you stood under was cooled by the kiss Levi planted on your cheek.
“Did I tell you how lucky I feel to have you?”, he whispered into your ear as while brushing strands of hair off your face.
“I could stand to hear it more often.”, You hid your blush by resting your forehead on his shoulder, feeling too shy to keep his gaze.
“It's true. You’re the most beautiful woman is this room tonight, scratch that, you’ll be the most beautiful woman anywhere, any day; and I get the honor of calling you mine.” he cooed, drawing gentle circles on your back with his fingers.
“You’re awfully talkative today!”, you lifted your head again to reveal a contagious coy smile spread across your lips.
“Don’t be stupid. I’ve always been talkative.”,
“Come with me.”, he moved you off his chest and tugged at your hand.
“Where?”, you asked in utter confusion, and a bit of annoyance at the wonderful moment being ruined, just to receive silence in response.
Levi quickly glanced over to find Luna munching on garlic bread sticks with Erwin and Hange, as he guided you away from the venue and towards the lake nearby. The ripples in the water gleamed under the moonlight, resembling liquid silver. Warm yellow light from the lamps on either side of a wooden dock dimly illuminated the path that led to a gorgeous gazebo that stood at the end, its ceiling sprinkled with fairy lights that defined the intricate floral carvings in the wood. You stood in the center of the structure and slowly spun around, marveling at the work of whose ever brilliant hands built it.
“Levi, this is stunning!”, you said gazing in all directions, running your fingers over the sophisticated engravings.
“Yes, it is.”, Levi agreed, his eyes not on the architecture, but instead on the human embodiment of radiant sunny day that stood by his side.
Not remotely expecting anything to outshine the sight before you, your vision was captured by an extravagant display of red, green, and gold against the dark blanket of the night’s sky. You jumped when the sound of the first soaring explosion caught you off guard. An arm slid across your waist and a kiss was placed on your temple. You were enamored by the shattering sparks of the fireworks, eliciting frequent oohs and aahs, until a voice snapped you out of your reverie.
“Marry me.”
It took you a few seconds to fully register what you just heard. But when you did, overwhelming feelings of joy rendered you speechless; fingers absentmindedly running over the carved railing of the gazebo, stunned orbs darting between the brilliant sky and the love of your life.
This time Levi had to remind you to breathe.
Your eyes and lips both turned into wide Os, and you slapped your hands to cover your gaping mouth when he slowly lowered himself to kneel before you, opening a little black box containing the same gorgeous ruby ring from all those years ago, which he sneaked out of your nightstand during one of his visits.
“I know that you said you wanted to take this slow. But the last four months with you have been the most precious of my life, where I got a glimpse of what having a perfect family would be like. I learnt the hard way, what I lost when I lost you and you gave me a second chance at finding happiness when you decided to come back. I promise to love and protect you every single day for the rest of my life, and even after. You complete me, love, and you complete our family. So, will you do me the honor of being Mrs. Ackerman, again?”
“Levi...”, your trembling voice was barely audible.
“Yes.”, you breathed, letting the floodgates finally open when he slid the ring on your finger.
He got back on his feet and engulfed you into the tightest embrace as you wept joyous tears into his shoulders.
“I love you so much!”
“I love you too!”, moving to look into your eyes, he cupped your face with warm hands.
And finally, his lips found yours.
It felt... like home;
Like laying in a cozy bed after a long day of work, like the warm chocolate sauce on a cold scoop of ice-cream, like wearing a fuzzy sweater on a crisp autumn evening, like walking barefoot on the beach at sunset, like taking a cool shower on a blazing summer afternoon, like everything you ever needed.
After being torn apart from the one person who made your life perfect, you were finally back in the soothing confines of his strong arms, resting against his able chest, ready to fall apart; all while the fireworks in the sky mirrored the fireworks in your hearts.
“Mama! Papa!”
You were awoken from this surreal euphoria by the most beautiful squeal you had ever heard. Both your heads turned towards the source of it – a tiny figure running towards you with all her might while all your near and dear ones including the newlyweds watched from a distance, cheering merrily.
“They knew?”, you gasped, sobbing and sniffling from the joyous tears.
“Yeah, pretty much everyone but you knew.”
Luna flew into Levi’s open arms when he bent down to receive her. The three of you merged into one blob of a positively smothering family hug, only pulling away to pepper each other with more kisses. Levi held his two girls close. His sun and moon were now back together in the sky of his life. He looked into Luna’s crescent shaped eyes and whispered,
“Moon beam, Mama’s coming home.”

Aizawa Shouta considered himself a logical man. He was a pro hero and a teacher which left him little personal time. It made no sense for him to pursue a relationship but then he met you.
It was like something out of a movie. At a coffee shop, they called out a black ice coffee with an extra shot, and as he reached for it your hand claimed the cup. That’s when you realized you had both been reaching for it.
The way you let go, throwing your hands up sheepishly apologizing. You were so cute. He had never thought that about a stranger before. Looks didn’t matter, it was the quality of someone’s personality that mattered. Yet, the slightly flustered look on your face captivated him.
He insisted that you take the coffee and go ahead. This ended up with the two of you politely arguing about who should take it until an identical drink was placed down beside it.
That smile as you rubbed the back of your neck. He should have known right there that he was done for.
The two of you parted ways and Aizawa felt his heart drop. What if he never saw you again? You were just a stranger, why did it matter.
He didn’t have much time to worry about that, that night he was on patrol when he heard a commotion. A man was attempting to rob someone. Before he could do anything Aizawa jumped into action tying the criminal up.
As he turned to the civilian he realized that it was you again. Suddenly his day felt so much better.
“Thank you.” You said earnestly. “Long time no see. I hope you enjoyed that coffee but it’s probably worn off by now.”
“I could certainly go for another.” He said.
That’s how the two of you ended up at an all-night diner sitting in a booth together.
Aizawa didn’t enjoy making new friends, he didn’t even enjoy talking to people very often. As he sat there listening to you talk about an interest of yours he couldn’t keep the small smile that kept slipping back onto his face.
You had managed to slip him your number on a piece of paper before leaving that night and he didn’t even question it. He asked you out on a date, not that he had consciously realized it was a date. He just wanted to see you again and he hadn’t thought that much into it.
It wasn’t until he found himself in a dress shirt and slacks, hair pulled up that he realized he had planned a date. He knew he didn’t have the time for a relationship but how could he stay away from someone like you?
Everything felt so natural, he never felt forced or rushed. It just felt right with you.
It had been a few months since you started dating. Aizawa had planned a nice night together, he didn’t always have a lot of time to spend with you lately so he wanted to do something fun together. Most of his time out of work was spent curled up with you in bed or on his couch watching TV or sleeping. Which both of you loved but you deserved a nice night out.
First was dinner at your favorite restaurant. Then there was a festival today, the two of you walked around looking at the different booths and desserts. Once you found a dessert that caught your eye he got it for you. Then there were the fireworks.
Aizawa had found the perfect place to watch them from, secluded and a view with nothing in the way. The two of you sat on a bench, you scooted closer to him before snuggling under his arm. He took the hint and wrapped his arm around you, pulling you to his side.
The fireworks began, colors filling the sky with a beautiful spectacle. It was nice to watch but he much preferred watching you, the colors in the sky reflecting off your wide eyes as you watched the even eagerly. The soft smile on your lips melted his heart.
He loved you. How could something like that hit him out of nowhere? But it wasn’t out of nowhere, was it?
It was in every moment he spent with you. The way you laughed at your own jokes. How you tripped over your own feet. How you insisted you sit close to him as humanly possible whenever you were together. The way you cared about everyone you met and were always eager to help others.
It was the way you held his face so gently in your hands as you kissed him. It was how you held onto his hand when you could tell he was stressed. It was the way you made his favorite meal and brought it to him and asked him to take a break from grading papers. It was how even in your sleep your arms searched the bed for him. It was the way you looked at him, your eyes so soft and happy.
He had loved you for a while now, he had just realized it now. He wasn’t overwhelmed or anxious. No, he trusted you. He trusted you with his heart even if he had just now realized that you had it this whole time.
The sky darkened as the show was over, only leaving the gentle glow of the lights around you in the quiet park. You turned to look at him with a big smile.
“This was perfect, Shouta. I had such a nice night but I think I’m ready for bedclothes and cuddles-”
“I love you.” He said. You looked at him with wide eyes.
“Oh,” You said trying to process the switch in conversation. As your surprise faded it turned into a small smile. “I love you too, Shouta.”
“You don’t have to say it if you feel like you owe me-”
“Shouta, I’ve loved you for a while.” You said, finger pressed against his lips to shush him. “Honestly, I kind of feel like I’ve loved you my whole life I was just waiting to meet you.”
“Now that’s just cheesy.” He teased with a smirk on his lips. “But I think I feel the same way.”
Aizawa leaned in slowly, his lips meeting yours soft and gentle. Your hands tangled in the hair at the base of his neck. His hands rested on the side on your neck.
“I wasn’t kidding though, I’m ready for bedtime snuggles.” You said pulling back, your nose still brushing against his.
Aizawa laughed. He loved you and that was all he ever needed.

50, 63 or 110 please 🥺 For Kerry...Susan...the wives - you know ofc.
My Hidden Angel
prompt 110: just pretend we’re okay, just for tonight
warnings: mild alcohol consumption, touches on topic of 'outing', some references to suicidal ideation
other tags: kerry x sandy (before), kerry x susan (implied), kerry & susan, hurt/comfort, hugs
Kerry’s eyes traced the mulberry patterns intertwine then separate then briefly meet together again followed by a small gap before they finally made themselves whole, ending in solid semi-circles at the opposite end of the duvet, striking loud against the cream which predominated the piece.
She was supposed to be happy, finally released loud and proud into society, herself - different, yet still beautiful. So what was wrong with her? Because she didn’t feel like that. She didn’t feel like that at all. The burning in her throat came in waves of strength whilst her heart felt like a large block of ice that had plummeted into her stomach. As for the rest of her body, it all just felt numb. Numb and useless. For the first time in a long time, she felt small, really small. Peering eyes had followed her throughout the ER as she tried to pretend that everything was ok, that she had wanted that to happen. That… what they thought didn’t matter to her. She was their boss after all. It shouldn’t.
But if she couldn’t even convince herself, how on earth could she convince anyone else?
After leaving work she had stormed over to the Fire Station where Sandy worked to give her a piece of her mind, chew her, and spit her out as Sandy had done to her. Returning the favour. But she had been left feeling even worse.
Even more hated and alone than she had before which was something considering… everything.
And she knew that if she passed away in her sleep, no one would care. No one would come to her funeral, no one would mourn. And as devastating as that is, she felt at peace. For once in her damn life, she wanted to be quiet. To hide. To return back into her bulletproof shell and never leave.
There was a light tap on the door.
Kerry ignored it. It could wait. Probably a door-to-door salesperson. Not worth her time.
A slightly louder knock followed, and then a loud buzz.
This now seemed more like a person, perhaps… Sandy?
Kerry’s heart fluttered in hope. And it was this alone which eventually forced her to get one and then two legs out of bed, wrapping her body tightly in her silk dressing gown before slowly making her way to the door, leaning on nearby furniture to do so.
When Kerry got to the door she took in a small breath, closing her eyes to rack up the courage to be able to speak coherently in front of her again. She didn’t want to relax her guard, or to let her anger completely ease off but what she really didn't want - was to be alone. And it was this sole urge for companionship that drove her resolve to forgive Sandy. She had found herself in the past year and despite her still wavering confidence in her sexuality she couldn't deny that she had never felt more complete, more understood, lighter, and happier since she had discovered she was a…
Lesbian.
In one quick movement, she turned her key in the lock and pushed down the door handle pulling it towards her, she opened her eyes expecting to see Sandy on the other side apologetic and soft but instead she saw someone whom she did not expect. Dr. Lewis.
“I-” Kerry started, her face dumbfounded.
Susan just smiled, 75% convincingly, holding up a bag to her face filled with a lovely aroma of spices.
Kerry looked at her suspiciously.
“I’ve brought you dinner,” Susan said, after a beat, trying to ignore the deep feelings of anger and frustration which she had always associated with Kerry.
“Oh thank you,” Kerry replied eventually, peering at the bag from where she was standing, frozen to the spot, “Why don’t you come in?” She added awkwardly her voice catching on the words and she squinted her nose and eyes slightly in embarrassment of herself, letting out a small sigh.
Susan just continued to smile and stepped into the door as Kerry shuffled out of the way before she closed the door.
“Please come on through.” Kerry said, “oh, and shoes off before you come in please.”
Susan had expected that to be the case, she smiled playfully to herself as she slid her shoes off.
Kerry stood, watching her uncomfortably, wondering what she would do and also questioning as to why this had happened in the first place. She bit her lip and curled her right ankle around to scratch at the back of her calf, which wasn’t the best idea as within seconds she began to lose her balance. Before she really had the opportunity to fall or to steady herself, Susan caught her outstretched arms ensuring she stayed strictly upright.
Kerry was shocked. Not only by the sudden contact but also of the position she was in with regards to Susan. She was staring directly at Susan’s chest. Well, where her chest was below her periwinkle jumper. Her eyes widened and she raised her head to look at Susan before shaking herself back into reality and straightening up allowing Susan to let go of her arms. Despite this, the place where she had touched her, burned.
When Kerry looked back at Susan she noticed her empty hands. But where was the food? Oh, Susan had just placed the bag on the floor. She needed to get a grip.
Kerry made to brush off her slacks only to find silky material there instead and that is when she realised that she was in fact not wearing her day clothes at all but her night-time things, and her cheeks began to glow red.
But Susan didn’t care, she just picked up her takeout bag and gestured towards the entrance to the living room, “This way?”
Kerry swallowed and then nodded, a bit too fiercely. Susan smiled and Kerry followed her into the living room.
“Do you have any films?” Susan asked as she sat herself down on the sofa.
“What do you mean?”
“Just… films.”
“Yeah, I mean, uh… kinda, maybe not the type you’re thinking of though...” Kerry’s voice tailed off.
“That’s alright, we can just watch whatever’s on.”
Kerry stood, passively watching Susan turn on the tv and set out the food she had brought with her onto the table before her. After a moment it registered that this may appear strange so in a hurried shuffle made her way to sit down next to Susan. She placed her hands politely on her knees and looked pointedly at the carpet in front of her. Susan glanced over.
“Are you alright?” She wondered aloud, a touch of a laugh in her voice.
Kerry furrowed her eyebrows, her mouth twitching in tandem, “Yeah, I-” she let herself process what she wanted to express before she turned abruptly round to Susan and queried, “Why are you here?”
The harshness of her voice and the absence of friendliness in Kerry’s general demeanour led Susan to feel as if she was being interrogated, as if she wasn’t welcome in Kerry’s home, and by breaching this unspoken contract of keeping distance between employer and employee she had perhaps angered the beast without intending to. It would not be the first time. But as she took her time to consider Kerry’s apparel, the soft plea in her eyes, and her stiff, clunky posture, the way she glanced at her leg every so often as if she was worried something would happen to it. But what could it possibly undergo? Except… judgement. Kerry’s defensiveness, her ferocity, so present in Susan’s life as a constant adherence and annoyance was down to experiences like she had had today. Susan could see that now. She knew that in the past she had only helped contribute but today maybe she could change that, but first, she needed Kerry to trust her.
Susan relaxed her shoulders and placed the empty take-out bag onto the floor underneath the sofa before she began.
“To cut a long story short; I’m bi.” She looked up to catch her eyes with Kerry’s as if to prove she was telling the truth before she continued, “And, when I was in high school, there was this most beautiful girl, she had dark hair and the pinkest lips and her voice always sounded like she was singing.” Susan closed her eyes, reminiscing.
“We were best friends, her and I, and we did everything together. I was intoxicated, but there was nothing I could have really done about it. I had a massive crush on her. I don’t know how they knew, perhaps I hadn’t hidden it as well as I’d thought but some of the boys in my year started teasing me about it, asking if I was a ‘lesbigay or whatever, and when I obviously didn’t respond and got embarrassed they um, they decided to announce it to the whole school.”
Kerry’s mouth opened, stunned into silence. This wasn’t what she had expected at all! Setting aside the fact that Susan was also gay, Kerry listened to her story with deep compassion, and horror. She tried to express her sympathies but only managed to stare at Susan wide-eyed and she hoped that the empathy she felt in her heart managed to express itself well enough on her face.
After looking at Kerry's face, Susan continued, “Yeah, it was pretty terrible, I lost a lot of friends that year. But um...” She paused for a second, considering her next words. “The thing that happened to you today reminded me of that and I couldn’t rest easy staying at home and thinking about it so I came over and did what I wish someone, a friend, or a parent even, had done when I was in that state. Because it is tough, and it is lonely. And no matter the shit that’s happened between us in the past, no one deserves that, no one. So as allies, I guess, let’s just pretend everything’s okay, just for tonight.” Susan smiled at Kerry then, and the redhead began to understand how much she had needed a friend, someone who would accept her, and understand why she had to hide. Someone to let her know she wasn’t alone.
“But anyway!” Susan clapped her hands together with a new-found cheerfulness instilled in her, disrupting the melancholy mood immediately. “Let’s eat!”
Throughout the evening they talked very little, making mild comments on the hallmark movies or about the food, and Kerry eventually found the strength to thank Susan for her kindness. Once the meal was over, Kerry produced a bottle of Pinot Grigio for the two to share and despite Susan’s inner voice telling her to ‘go home’ she accepted the offer. The alcohol loosened Kerry’s tongue and she was no longer sat like a meerkat on the lookout but instead as if she was spending an evening with a friend. Susan let Kerry cry and rested her head on her, oh the softness of the cashmere against Kerry’s cheek as she buried herself deep in Susan’s softness.
They stayed in that position for a while, even once Kerry’s crying had ceased, Susan would rub her hand up and down her bank comforting her and reminding her that someone was there. Someone who cared about her, who understood her.
The intimacy and the alcohol and the events of the day meant that once Kerry ultimately did lift her head up and came face to face with Susan, so close she could almost feel the light hairs on her face, she was overcome with this urge to kiss her. Not a rough kiss, nor a gentle kiss, more a kiss goodbye or hello, a kiss saying thank you. Her hand tenderly stroking Susan's jawline, suggesting the act was about more than just lust or circumstance.
At first, Susan lent into it, Kerry’s taste being much calmer than she had expected, but once she realised what was happening she pulled herself out of it, gently, so as not to potentially hurt Kerry.
Susan smiled a sweet smile, slightly flushed as if she was sixteen once more and encountering her crush in the cafeteria. “You’re a really good kisser,” she observed trying to relieve some of the deep mortification evident on Kerry’s face, “But not tonight.”
She helped Kerry to her bed before setting herself down on the couch and continued to grin, touching her fingertips lightly to her lips where Kerry had kissed her.
Not tonight, but next time...?

“Here,” Sam hands you a thick envelope. “Your pay, as usual.”
You trust Sam not to go behind your back and the mutual agreement set between you two, but you make sure to grab and stop him from walking away with all your produce just yet. You need to count the money he's handed over and ensure every last madol is where it should be. Thankfully, it is, but there are a few extra bills you know aren’t supposed to be in there.
You remove the extra money and hand it back to him. “You gave me too much.”
He pushes your hand back and shakes his head. “Consider this my holiday gift for you.”
You give him an incredulous look. “You sure? Because if you come back here next week telling me I owe you money I’m going to sick the wolves on you.”
Your threat is met with a hearty laugh from the shopkeeper. “Have I ever done you wrong, my friend?”
 “Yes, you have actually.”
“Haha, good times indeed!” He casually waves at you as he hauls away your vegetables on a large wooden cart. “Happy holidays!”
You have half a mind to remind him that the holiday season is over. Instead, you decide that it’s best to just turn around and walk away. The money is in your hands and your produce is in his care and that's all there is to it. This season's harvest is now officially concluded and you can start prepping for the spring. After a long-deserved rest, of course. The few extra madols give you just a little more than what was needed to put down for a brand new generator for the dorm. You have a model already picked out ahead of time. All that's left is to order and wait for it to come in.
"Well?" Benji floats up to you as soon as you enter the front door. "Do we have enough?"
You proudly wave the envelope in the air. "We have enough and then some!"
Your housemates cheer and pull you into a group hug. Frankie takes the envelope from you and heads out, most likely heading to the safe you’ve hidden from Grim so he can put all the money together and deposit it at the nearest bank. Once the ghosts come down from their brief celebratory high, you excuse yourself and head to the backyard where Malleus is waiting for you.
"I'm back!" you happily announce your arrival.
"Welcome back," he smiles up at you. "Did you get your payment?"
"I did!" you nod. "Frankie's taking it to the bank, so I should be able to get that new generator before sunset."
"That's good. It'll be one less problem for you to worry about."
"You can say that again," you sigh. "Thanks for your help today. I'm surprised we managed to pick and clean everything up before noon!"
You situate yourself next to Malleus, who's sitting down on the low porch. Gunter's pups have been following him since breakfast and you don't think they'll be off his heels for some time. It's been like this since they were born. One might even be able to say that they like him more than they do you. Malleus doesn't show it or verbally express it, but you can tell he enjoys their attachment to him. He allows them to jump all over him and drench him in wet kisses without much of a fuss. Who knows, when they grow older they just might start following and taking orders from him rather than you. Maybe he won't need Sebek and Silver to follow him anymore if they stick around?
You can imagine Sebek being incredibly offended that a bunch of wild wolves took his job.
Malleus looks at you. "Have you given them names yet?"
"The pups?" you ask for clarification. "I've been meaning to, but my head can’t think of any. If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them."
Malleus mulls over your offer. He picks up one pup at a time, trying to think of an appropriate name to give them. After about 10 minutes his shoulders go slack and he looks back over to you with disappointment. "I'm afraid I'm drawing a blank as well."
"Well, you gave it a shot," you clap your hand on his shoulder. "Tell you what. Once we get that new generator, we can sit down and do a bit of name-brainstorming over some tea."
"Yes, that sounds lovely," he smiles again, and you start to realize that he has a damn good smile. "When do you want to get together?"
"Sometime next week. With the extra money Sam gave me I can get the generator in faster!"
Malleus seems momentarily excited, but it quickly dies as he suddenly realizes something. "Can we meet the week after next? I have something important coming up."
"Sure," you say. "What's happening next week?"
"It's…" he hesitates. "It's my birthday next week."
Your eyes pop wide open. "Oh shit, for real?"
 "Indeed."
One of the pups desperately tries to jump up onto the porch, but his stubby legs and meager strength aren't enough to push him over the edge. As you reach down and help him up, you ask, "How come I'm only hearing about your birthday now?"
Malleus carefully lifts the other pups onto the porch as well. "You never asked me."
"No kidding", you snort. "To be honest, I thought that maybe you didn't celebrate it anymore since you're hundreds of years old. Don't birthdays lose their novelty after a few centuries?"
"They do,” he agrees  “I haven't had a grandiose party since I was about your age."
"Wow," your eyebrows lift in shock. "That's just rude."
He suddenly looks so terrified. "I didn't mean it-"
"I'm kidding!" you quickly reassure him. "Lighten up Tsunotarou! I'm not going to shoot you for poking a bit of fun at me."
 "So you say," he grumbles.
"I'm not!" you defensively shrill. "If you're talking about the time I shot at those sea worms, I had every right to! No way in hell was I gonna be intimidated into giving my dorm up. Not now. Not ever."
Those "sea worms" you're referring to are Jade and Floyd Leech from Octavinelle. During exams week, Ace Deuce and Grim as well as many other students who made a deal with Azul for his infamous study guides practically kissed the very ground you walked on in order to convince you to rescue them from their dubious contracts. Initially, you refused their request no matter how much they pleaded or bothered you. It wasn't until Jade and Floyd caught onto this bit of information (it’s hard to ignore a dozen students following you around like a bunch of chicks) that they began to set their sights on you. The two tried to squeeze you into a deal that would release everyone who signed a contract with Azul for his infamous cheat sheet, so long as you could keep up your end of the bargain.
It was clearly too good to be true or fair. Nevertheless, you decided to at least listen and attempt to negotiate some sort of proposal that would make both sides happy, if only to have your intruded space restored to normal. Unfortunately, Azul wouldn't settle for anything less than your dorm, which you refused to hand over despite Grim's OK to put it up for grabs. Jade and Floyd insisted you agree to the terms for the sake of your friends and fellow schoolmates, but you bluntly told them something that, to this day, never fails to make Malleus giggle even when he's in a foul mood.
"You're not getting my fucking dorm! Not now! Not ever!"
Unfortunately, Jade and Floyd began to follow you around too and even went as far as to visit your dorm during unconventional hours, on a regular basis. Their insistent arguments began to turn into veiled threats, and you aren't the type of person to take them all too well. Malleus remembers visiting you one day only to find you out on the roof, your hunting rifle in hand, keeping a vigilant eye out towards the gates for the Leech twins to make their expected visit. Malleus knew that your weapon is a dangerous one when used correctly, but he did not expect as much power behind it as it had until you shot a couple of live rounds near the merfolk's feet.
His ears still ring thinking about that powerful discharge.
"Where is your rifle?" he asks. "Also, where is your falcon?"
"Twilight? She's still upstairs in her cage." You make a vague gesture towards the second floor.
Twilight is a falcon that you found during one of your hunting trips, having suffered a nasty injury to her wing. You have some experience with falconry so you immediately recognized her mannerism as that of a hunting falcon as well as her breed, an Aplomado. You tried to find her original handler while you nursed her back to health, but unfortunately, no one came forward to claim her and you decided to keep her. You and her bonded very easily, so rehabilitating and training her to take commands from you was a breeze. While you expected her to maybe leave your side once she was able to properly fly again, she remains determined to stick with you.
You stand up and turn towards the back door. "I should probably wake her up before she gets mad at me.”
"I'll watch over these while you do that," Malleus grabs one of the pups who topples over another and refuses to get off of them.
"Thanks!" You bend down and give him a quick one-armed hug from behind. "You're the best!"
As you're about to head back into your home, you stop at the door and turn back around. "Are you sure you want me to bring my rifle?"
"Do you not want to bring it out?"
"I don't mind bringing it. It's just, not everyone likes to be around guns."
Malleus nods in understanding. "Well, I'm not like everyone," he playfully remarks.
"No, you're not," you smile. "I'll be right back then."
"Take your time," he assures you.

"Rise and shine pretty bird!"
You lift the dark sheet off of her cage so she can bask in the morning light. Twilight was busy preening herself, but now that you're in her sight she begins to happily screech and shuffles closer to the door, eagerly awaiting for you to open it so she can jump on you.
You quickly slip on your handling gloves and help her transfer from her perch to your hand. Her sharp talons tightly grip around the sides of your fingers, but the thick leather prevents them from piercing your raw flesh. You snap your fingers a couple of times to get her attention focused solely on you. When she maintains steady eye contact with you, you reach into your pocket and present your other gloved palm to her. In it are some bacon bits you managed to snag from the leftovers of this morning's breakfast. She eagerly pecks and munches down the small meal.
"It still isn't the best time to go hunting, but how's about I let you out anyways and you can stretch your wings for a bit?"
She expands her wings and flaps them a few times, a sign that she's eager to take you up on your offer. You haven't taken her out to hunt for about a month, mainly because you were gone half of the time. The winters here are especially harsh, even with a bunch of fire faeries keeping the campus somewhat warmer. The pickings are also dry since most of the wildlife on the island are sticking close to their burrows to stay warm and wait out the season.
You've been itching to head out into the forest recently, but winter is usually a bad hunting season for you. Luckily, you've met and befriended a few of the locals on the island who live off the bounty of the land as you do. They tend to look out for one another and offer help during difficult times, and the barren winter is no exception. You make a mental reminder to reach out and ask where some of the best hunting spots on the island are once this generator fiasco is all taken care of.
"Now, you wouldn't happen to know where my rifle is, do you?" you ask her. When she goes to nibble a piece of your hair, you know that she has no clue.
As you're about to head down to the foyer (you often leave it there), a sudden squeaking noise catches both Twilight and your attention. There, at the other end of the hall, a beady-eyed Jerboa bounces up and down in a steady rhythm in an attempt to grab your attention.
Scarabia wasn't entirely traumatizing. You met Gizmo, the Jerboa before you, during one of the exhausting desert marches, nearly dead from severe dehydration. The little guy brought you a bit of comfort throughout the entire ordeal. He also was able to bring you the enchanted envelope Malleus gave you before he went back home for the winter break. It immediately sends any letter you place inside it to him once you set it on fire. How else could you have contacted him after your phone was conveniently confiscated after your first escape attempt?
"Good morning, little guy," you smile down at him. "You wouldn't happen to know where my gun is, do you?"
It seems he does, as he turns and begins to race down the adjacent hall. He stops every so often to look back at you, making sure you're still keeping up with him. Eventually, he stops in front of a door to one of several lounging areas. This one, in particular, is more the ghosts' lounge than anyone else's. It's filled with all sorts of memorabilia and photos from the dorm's heyday. The ghosts have shared a few stories about the shenanigans they got in when they were both alive and students at NRC. Interestingly enough, the dorm was a sort of "halfway home" for students undergoing the difficult process that is switching to another dorm. The idea was to separate the student from those of their originally assigned dorm so they can better learn and adopt the characteristics of the dorm they wish to transfer into.
Soon enough, the dorm began to house more and more people. A common feeling amongst the residents of the past was a feeling of displacement or disconnection towards the other formal dorms and the ideals they upheld. While not approved by the headmaster, the residents began to form a sort of pseudo dorm with its own set of principles as well as assigning a dorm leader and vice leader just as the others did. Nothing was ever written in stone, but the ghosts vouched that the main “characteristics” amongst Ramshackle’s past residents was a desire to establish camaraderie with those around them, no matter their background or origins.
Listening and learning what the Ramshackle once meant to them and so many others hit home for you. You lived near a small rural town, surrounded by people who were willing to share their resources with their neighbors and even the occasional stranger simply because it was a kind thing to do for one another. The students of NRC are willing to put their heads together, sure, but there almost always has to be some sort of catch that benefits the individual.
Living with students like that is stressful as hell. Somedays you just skip school entirely, having already gone through the many woes and few wonders of high school back in your world. You have zero patience to deal with people who only view each other (and subsequently you) as inferior or a mere stepping stone to trample over. Ace and Deuce are your friends and have proven that they are "exceptions" so to speak. However, they're still just a couple of kids. No matter how well you three communicate and work well with each other, there's just a natural disconnection you feel with them that not even magic can fix.
It makes your close connection with Malleus, someone who's centuries older than you, incredibly ironic. You've essentially had your life figured out back home, and in some strange serendipitous way, so does Malleus. He's going to become king of his home country immediately after or sometime after he graduates, while you were going to continue living that nice rural lifestyle you lived back home, alongside your 3 aunts and many cousins. At least, once Crowley finds a way to send you back.
Maybe that's why his confession felt so much more confusing and intensely when it happened. Everything seemed so linear before he uttered those three words to you. Now, it feels like the clear and concise timeline you've had pictured in your head for months is just one big blob of scribbles and nonsense.
"Am I doing something wrong?" you desperately ask Frankie. "Because it feels like I made some huge mistake and now it's coming back to bite me in the ass right now."
"Of course you haven't done anything wrong," he rubs your shoulder reassuringly.
"Then why does it feel like everything around me is slowly falling apart?" You're sobbing at this point. The cigar you took from him earlier is now abandoned, snuffed out in the ashtray. "Why does it feel like  I'm  falling apart?"
"Nu-uh," he shakes his head and gives you a stern look. "We're not gonna do none of that. Do you hear me? None."
"Then what the hell do I need to do?!" you shriek. "Frankie, I'm fucking losing it here. I'm one more backhanded dismissal away from kicking Crowley's teeth in. I swear, if one more overblot happens, so help me. I can't deal with someone else's problems when I can't even get a full night of rest anymore!"
"You've done nothing wrong, you hear me?" he reaffirms. "I get it, I do. Right now, life is handing you a bad hand and you don't have the people you usually rely on for support. I've been there kiddo. We all have. We may not be like your aunts or your loud-ass cousins,"
A smile finally cracks on your face. He's using your own words you've used to describe your younger family members. You love the little tykes, but they can be a handful sometimes.
Damn, you miss them, your aunts too. They're all that you have left after a messy custody battle with your parents. This garden. Your rifle. Hell, even your insistence at taking over many of the household chores have all been your desperate attempts of finding some sort of familiarity in this new and strange world.
"But remember, those in Ramshackle stick together and help each other out when they're in a pinch. We'll handle all the little stuff, the cooking, the cleaning, the occasional clogged pipe," he scoffs, annoyed just thinking about the pipes clogging up again. They've been doing it a lot lately and everyone in the house is incredibly over it. "Right now, your only priority is yourself. Okay?"
It takes you a moment to really take in his words, but eventually, you nod in understanding. "Alright," you affirm out loud.
  He squeezes your shoulder. "Good."
A sharp and muffled whistle pulls your attention away. Johnny's voice is a little hard to make out, but you're able to make out "generator working" and "warm coffee".
"C'mon," Frankie holds open the glass door and ushers you outside. "I don't know about you, but I could use a cup of coffee."
"I could use two," you sigh.
He gives one last squeeze around your shoulder. For a moment, it feels like you're back home. You feel a little better too. A little bit more secure.
As you enter the room, you see that Benji, and Johnny are gathered for the usual late morning/early afternoon poker matches.
"Hey, prefect," Benji, the first one to notice your entrance, greets. "Need something?"
"Have you seen my rifle?" you look around the room for any immediate sign of it. "It's been a while since I used it and I've completely lost track of it."
"Should be under one of the floorboards here," Johnny, who is playing busy rearranging his cards, says. "If not, try the floorboards in the living room."
You thank him and begin carefully stepping and tapping your foot against the wooden floorboards, trying to find and search one of many secret spaces made back in Ramshackle's glory days. Nothing dangerous (you hope) was ever hidden. It was mainly used by the students who lived here during its heyday to hide bottles of alcohol and cigarettes. You know, the typical items a bunch of teenage outcasts would keep around.
There was actually a bottle of some rare and expensive wine that was left behind as the number of residents began to dwindle. You and the ghosts are waiting for the right occasion to crack it open and enjoy the vintage-like a bunch of fiends. Grim won't be having any. Hell no.
Twilight has temporarily detached herself from your side and perches comfortably on Benji's shoulder. Her talons dig into his white spectral body, but he doesn't wince or show any sign that he's in any pain. She nibbles on his worn scarf to pass the time until you call her. Gizmo busies himself by helping you find all the secret spaces. He finds one and begins jumping over it more enthusiastically. When you pry the wooden slat up, you perk up as the familiar scent of old gunpowder fills your nose.
"There you are!" you practically sing when you lift the board and see your trusty gun. "And here I was thinking Benji lost you."
"I heard that!" he shouts, deeply offended.
"I know," you reply. "Glad to know that your hearing hasn't gone out yet. Had me worried for a while, gramps."
Johnny erupts in a symphony of loud laughter. While community and mutual respect were a value shared between Ramshackle residents, a bit of teasing and the occasional prank is always welcomed. It's a great way to keep morale up. It's also satisfying to say a remark that makes everyone laugh or have a prank go as planned. So long as no one got hurt, it's all fair game between you all.
You lift the heavy rifle out of the space and do a routine check. The internal magazine is empty and when you probe the back of the chamber with your pinky you don't feel a loaded round inside. You flip the safety on and off and pull the trigger a few times to make sure the mechanisms are working correctly. You also do a quick count of your ammunition. While guns do exist in this world, coming across bullets is much harder than it is in your world. This is mainly due to the reliance on magically sourced bullets that help reduce the use of resources. Their rarity makes them expensive, and the few blacksmiths who do make them usually don't sell to anyone unless they feel the buyer is a genuine enthusiast of their craft. The buyer also needs to have a license to own them, which you thankfully earned after a few safety lessons and a short exam.
Lucky for you, the one and only smith on the island who makes bullets was more than happy to provide you with some bullets at an affordable price after you allowed him to ogle your rifle for a few hours. It's an old model, supposedly used by your great grandfather after he was enlisted into the army. When the war ended and he was sent back home, he customized it so it can be used for hunting deers instead of people. Your first aunt Gia was always handling it. Whether she was taking it apart and putting it back together or out in the backyard doing some recreational target practice.
She always looked strong yet elegant carrying it around, not that she isn’t without it. During your first year living with her, you tried to imitate her, slinging some large stick you found out in the woods to try to exude the same energy she did. When your second aunt Lucia moved in with your cousins after her divorce, she was quick to reprimand you and confiscate any of the newly found branches you brought back home and waved around as an imaginary rifle. Your aunt Gia eventually began to teach you how to properly and safely handle her firearm. By the time your third aunt Marisol moved in after graduating from university, you were one hell of a sharpshooter and a damn good hunter.
With the rifle now deemed safe to take to Malleus, you sling it over your shoulder and make your way out of the room. You whistle the signal for Twilight to return to your side and she immediately heeds your command. Her obedience earns her a few more bits of bacon. Gizmo also wishes for some compensation for helping you locate your rifle. You make a quick trip to the kitchen and give him a few raisins to snack on. He's the only one who eats raisins in the dorm, so you don't skimp out on him.
Blossom does try to snag a few for himself, but a threatening screech from Twilight scares the gluttonous fawn away. That deer sure loves to eat.
Tumblr media
"I'm back, again!" you announce as you reclose the back door behind you.
"Welcome back, again," Malleus regreets you. "And a good morning to you, Twilight."
Twilight also loves Malleus. She eagerly shifts her feet, desperately wanting to fly onto his arm and properly say hello. You let her transfer onto him once he slips on the safety glove you provide. After a few minutes of giving her loving neck scratches and trying to stop her from nipping at Malleus's ears (she likes them a lot and, now that you’re thinking about it, you do too), you take her back and help send her off into the air for some much needed soaring time.
"I see you brought your weapon," Malleus looks at your rifle with an examining eye.
"I did," you bring it around and into your arms. "Now, why did you want me to bring it again?"
"No reason in particular," he admits. "I just...I'm quite used to seeing you with it. You're never without it unless you're attending classes."
A proud smirk finds its way onto your face no matter how hard you try to hide it. "I'll take that as a compliment."
A potentially stupid idea pops up in your head. "Do you want me to teach you how it works?"
"Truly?" Malleus looks extremely shocked at your offer. "You dislike it greatly when another person touches it."
"I dislike it when people who don't know the first thing about gun safety touch my gun," you correct. "But count yourself lucky, because I know everything there is to know about this one right here!"
"Very well,” he gives a conceding nod. “Have at it."
This is the most excited you've ever been since waking up in the floating coffin all those months ago. While you aren't the biggest gun enthusiast out there (you only ever use it for hunting), you do like it when people show interest to learn about your hobbies. Ace and Deuce are teenagers, so it's no surprise that they don't exactly find the long and grueling labor that goes into gardening all that exciting. Your firearm is nothing more than a toy in their minds, though Deuce is a bit more serious than Ace is when it comes to safety.
Speaking of gun safety. "Now, I don't mean to nag but it's important to remember that, under no circumstances, are you to ever point a gun at anyone. Loaded or unloaded."
Malleus makes a face of confusion. "Then how come you pointed and shot at the Leech twins?"
"Hey," you put your hands up in defense. "I wasn't shooting at them. I shot at the ground and it just so happens that their feet were near my line of shot."
"Ah, I see," he chuckles at your convenient excuse. "So shooting near an individual is ok, so long as the bullet doesn't hit them."
"Exactly," you wink at him. "But seriously, don't point it at or near anyone. And don't look down the barrel. Lilia nearly gave me a heart attack when I caught him doing just that."
He closes his eyes and gives a deep nod like you just bestowed upon him a great piece of wisdom. "Duly noted."
"Next is the magazine," you turn and pull back the bolt handle to show him the empty magazine hidden underneath the bolt itself. "This is where you put the bullets. The magazine holds up to 4 bullets, 5 if you keep one loaded in the chamber. Since my gun is an older model, you can’t pop in an external magazine. Unless you're in a desperate situation, it's best to"
You look up to make sure Malleus is following along with your explanation. Maybe he is, but it's hard to tell when his eyes completely ignore the rifle you have set between the two of you and instead keeps his eyes focused solely on you. Your throat immediately dries up and you feel your heart begin to beat just a bit faster after it skips a beat. The look he's giving you is the same one he gave you at Scarabia, a content, and dazed smile. There's a hint of melancholy in his expression, evident by how the inner corners of his eyebrows turn upward.
He looks so at peace, yet so sad.
"What's wrong?" you ask, though you know full well what's making him feel that way he does.
He shakes his head in denial. The visual sadness goes away once he settles. "Nevermind me. Keep talking, please."
"R-Right," you stutter. "Where was I again?"
"You said your gun is an older model."
"Right," you remember. "Since the model is old, it's best not to reload too quickly, otherwise you risk jamming the gun and in some cases, you might break a mechanism."
You feel a faint vibration underneath your leg. Thinking it's your phone (now set back to vibration mode) you start to pat down your clothes to try and find the device. Surprisingly, it actually came from Malleus's phone. It keeps pulsing in fixed intervals, likely from someone calling him. He quickly pulls it out and clicks on the red reticle, sending the caller to voicemail without batting an eyelash. You couldn't see who was calling, but you swear their name started with an 'S'. Could it be Silver or Sebek calling? You hope it's not Sebek because once Malleus starts to manually decline his calls, the next person he usually rings up is-
You feel another vibration, this time it's coming from your phone that you apparently left in your back pocket. Lo and behold, it's Sebek that's calling you. You show your screen to Malleus, who makes a dramatically loud sigh of exhaustion. Sebek...While he's well-intentioned and has his charming points, he can be a bit of a handful...
Ok, that's too nice a way of putting it. Really, as passionate as he is, he can be a bit annoying to deal with sometimes. You're trying to be polite as you can be with him because you've been told that Faes offended easily and you're not going to be that asshole. Though, you’ll be the first to admit that he’s such an easy and fun target to joke around with. Blame the ghosts, their behavior is gradually rubbing off on you.
His protectiveness and the deep admiration he has towards Malleus is a little quirky, even cute at times. It reminded you of a child vehemently protecting their parent from their lover, not that you and Malleus are dating or anything.
Why did that last part feel weird to say in your head?
"Go ahead and answer," Malleus concedes. "I’m not entirely in the mood to listen to his shouting in the middle of the day."
"Oh, his heart would break if he heard you," you place a hand over your fake-pained heart. "You are such a cruel man, Great and Benevolent Malleus!"
The two of you erupt into a brief fit of laughter. After calming yourself down, you answer the phone. "Hello, you've reached the Ramshackle dormitory."
You have to turn away and cup your free hand around your mouth so the phone doesn't pick up Malleus's uncontrollable giggles.
"Human!”  he shouts into the phone and you have to pull it back to alleviate your overwhelmed eardrum. “  If you would kindly put Lord Malleus on the phone, I would greatly appreciate it."
You look over to Malleus, but Sebek was loud enough that you don’t have to mouth anything to him. He gestures for you to hand the phone over to him, but you put your hand up to tell him to give you a moment.
"If you want to talk to Malleus, press two,” you blankly say. “Those are the rules."
"Human! I don’t have time for your terrible jokes!"
Malleus then gestures for you to hand over your phone. "Do as they say, Sebek," he calmly commands.
Your hands slap against your mouth to cover the loud and ugly screech you make when you hear the loud dial noise come right after.
The two talk for a while. It’s mainly Malleus listening to whatever Sebek is passionately rambling about while giving the occasional hum and idle acknowledgments. At one point during the call, he looks over to you and frowns. You mouth “what’s wrong?” but he shakes his head and looks away. Once he hangs up, he lets out a very stressful sigh and slumps a bit. He’s upset.
“Hey,” you move your rifle and scoot closer to him, giving him a gentle shoulder bump once you’re near. “Talk to me. What did Sebek say?”
“It’s nothing important,” he continues to dismiss. “Just a trivial matter.”
“ Malleus,” your voice becomes stern. “C’mon, talk to me.”
He tends to downplay his troubles since he thinks they pale in comparison to the many other aspects going on in his life (being royalty can’t be easy). When it was clear that you were more than just an acquaintance, Lilia gave you a bit of advice about Fae behavior so you can better communicate with Malleus and get him to open up to you. Faes cannot lie, but they can give half-truths, and, depending on how powerful one is, they can tell white lies. It took a bit of work, but eventually, you gained enough of Malleus' trust as well as reassured him that you won't up and abandon him for simply voicing his opinions or feelings, even if you might disagree with him.
 “You first,” he says insistently.
Also by the advice\of Lilia, you have a bit of an ongoing exchange with Malleus. For every instance he bears his inner thoughts and feelings to you, you have to tell him something about yourself that others don’t know about.
Have all your facts been embarrassing admittances? Yes, they have.
“No offense, but aren’t Fae notorious for being a bit...y’know?”
  “Mischievous?” Lilia snickers.
“Right,” you cross your arms in an attempt to provide yourself with a bit of comfort. Lilia’s casual demeanor surely isn’t helping you. “Telling Malleus all my innermost secrets is surely going to come back and bite me in the future.”
“Well, in most circumstances you wouldn’t be wrong.” Suddenly his playful voice becomes firm and actually assuring for once. “However, there is no need for concern. I can say with certainty that whatever you tell Malleus, no matter how embarrassing or incriminating it is, will forever remain with him and him alone.”
The old Fae pats you on the head, despite being taller than him. “He cares deeply about, truly.”
That fuzzy feeling in your chest returns. Your hands have an itch to fidget with something to try and distract yourself. It ends up being a strand of your hair that gets blown in your face after an especially chilly gust of wind dishevels it. That’s when a small bulb lights up in your head.
“I hate the winter,” you admit. “The long nights throw me off and I have terrible luck running into wild game when I head out into the field. Really, it's cold weather that I hate in general.”
“Interesting,” Malleus clearly takes in and files away this new fact he’s learned in his head. “This likely isn’t a surprise, but I enjoy this time of the year.”
“What's winter in the Valley of Thorns like?”
Malleus, shocked at hearing your sudden interest in his home, begins to paint as detailed a picture as he can about the kingdom during the colder seasons. Greenery is a bit sparse given the Valley’s more mountainous terrain, but he insists that the thorn bushes you can find in nearly every corner of the land are beautiful in their own right. No matter the season, there’s always some amount of fog that dilutes the rays of the sun, so a day without one is often seen as a sign of good fortune by the people. Modern machinery is all but nonexistent as well, so there are no buildings, pollution, or lights to obscure the starry sky at night.
“Now it just sounds like I’m back home,” you let out a sad reminiscent sigh.
“What about your home? What is it like?”
“About the same as yours, except we got plenty of sunlight and we had lush forests instead of rocky cliffs. There was a small town about half an hour out, but most of the businesses there have been around since the ’50s.” You notice his confusion as your terminology, but a brief explanation of your world’s calendar clears it up.
“It sounds charming,” he says. “I’d love to visit it one day, should the opportunity present itself.”
“There’s an ice cream shop down the main avenue,” you mention, knowing how much he enjoys the cold treat. “The owners even change their selections every other day, but the rainbow sherbet is the best one they have!”
“Is that so?” he chuckles at your enthusiasm.
A sharp screech cuts your conversation into an abrupt close. That was without a doubt a signal from Twilight, letting you know that someone is walking up the pathway to the dorm. You aren’t expecting anyone, and Frankie is likely just arriving in town by now. You remember how Malleus seemed dejected after his call with Sebek.
Just as you connect the dots, Malleus stands up, brushing off any dirt and debris from his clothes. “I apologize, but I must head out now.”
“Already?” you ask with playful sadness. The fuzz in your chest dissipates into a dull ache. Weird.
“I need to go over my guest list for my birthday once more. Lilia insisted I send out handwritten invitations to immerse myself into the festivities.”
“That sounds about right.” After standing up yourself and insisting you’ll walk him out, you ask, “So when can I expect my invitation to come in?”
“You want to come? Even after,” he immediately stops himself from speaking.
Does he really think he messed up that badly with you?
“I do want to go,” you firmly tell him. “Even after everything that’s happened.”
There’s a brief silence between you two before he says, “You don’t have to force yourself.”
 “I’m not,” you reassure him.
 “So you say.”
“Malleus,” you sigh. “If there’s anyone scared about our friendship dissolving because of what happened, it’s me. I’m the one that’s keeping you in suspense, even now.”
The truth hurts, but no amount of shared laughs and the occasional antics between the two of you is going to magically dissolve the damage present. You’ve hurt him, and in a way, it’s hurting you as well. Life isn’t as linear as it was, but sulking and bringing the people around you down is a terribly selfish thing to do, especially towards someone you care a great deal about. You weren’t raised like that. You were taught to appreciate the little things and watch out for those around you. Not for personal gain, but because it was simply a kind thing to do.
This feeling of insecurity came before the winter break. Being around so many people whose ideals and actions clash with yours often succeeds at making you think that you’re the one in wrong, that you’re the helpless and naive one. That’s far from the truth. The community you’ve built with the ghost trio and the natives on Sage’s Island is proof that your values are shared with others.
It’s just like Frankie said, life is just serving you a bad hand right now. You can prevail and return to the better days. The better days when you and Malleus were the best of friends. But why does your heart hurt when you think about his confession for the umpteenth time? What’s making you so hesitant? More importantly, why couldn’t you tell him “yes”, yet you also knew you couldn’t tell him “no”?
As you watch Malleus and Sebek depart from your front door, making their way down the steps towards the front gates, you hastily announce that you’ll be back and begin running towards them.
You need to make things right.
Tumblr media
Malleus noticed the way your hands sought something out to fidget with when you were feeling...he doesn’t know what that was. You weren’t feeling uncomfortable as far as he could tell.
 Were you perhaps...flustered?
No, that can’t be it. You don’t think of him that way, he’s sure of now. When he quickly reassesses his behavior, he didn’t do anything that would warrant you to become nervous, other than look at you with a far too amorous gaze while you explained the ins and outs of your firearm. He couldn't help himself. Seeing you so passionate and animated, even if it's over something he has no knowledge or a particular interest in, made his heart flutter as well as ache yet again.
They fidget with the nearest object when they feel uncomfortable. Remember that.
 “What was that, Lord Malleus?”
Sebek’s booming voice catches him off guard a bit, but he quickly recovers as if nothing disturbed him at all. “It’s nothing, just thinking aloud.”
“I see. In any case,” he quickly changes the subject. “The materials needed to write and send the invitation letters are all ready. Sir Lilia insists that you write each one on your own, but I am more than capable and willing to offer my assistance should you need it!”
“That’s quite alright. There aren’t a great many I need to send anyways,” Malleus gracefully rejects Sebek’s eager offer.
There really aren’t that many people who will be attending, just the residents of Diasomnia and that’s it. He initially had plans to invite you, but he’s caught between a rock and a hard place. You’ve expressed your desire to come, but he can’t help but feel that it’s only out of pity.
He doesn’t want that from you. At this point, he just wants things to return to how they once were before he opened his mouth and began to spew a bunch of one-sided nonsense. He just wants your friendship, pure and untainted like before.
Perhaps he’s destined to never have a friend after all.
“Malleus!” your distant voice calls out to him, causing him to stop in his tracks and turn around to search for you.
He doesn’t understand how you do it, but just hearing you call his name utterly burns away all the muddled thoughts circulating within his head. He is exceptional when it comes to defensive magic, yet whatever spell you manage to cast on him that makes him so taken by you, it exceeds even his own magical prowess.
But you don’t have any magic. Not even a speck courses through your veins. You’re just an average human. His nearly crippling infatuation is entirely his own doing.
"Oh, thank goodness you haven't made it past the front gates yet," you heaved out. Did you run all the way here? Did he forget something? He quickly pats his front pocket and feels a hard lump, his phone. It’s the only personal item he brought.
"Human," Sebek's voice sounds annoyed at your sudden presence. "What do you need from- AH!"
Sebek's scream hurts Malleus's ear, but the slight and momentary ring means little when you've wrapped your arms over his shoulders and pull him into a tight embrace. He immediately melts into your arms, smothering his face against the crook of your neck and taking in your scent like a desperate man. Despite the sweat you and he worked up from hours of labor, you still smell so nice, like fresh cotton and assorted herbs. It's unique. It's comforting.
 It's you.
"One week," you whisper in his ear. "Give me one week. I'll have an answer for you then."
He pulls back and looks at you like you’ve grown a second head. "Pardon?"
"I've hurt you, badly." you look down in shame. "I still am, but I'm going to make it up to you. I promise"
"A promise made with a Fae is a dangerous thing, especially when you don't uphold your end of the deal," he says with a warning tone. "One week. Are you sure that's enough time?"
"It is," you say with certainty.
You're not one to lie or bite off more than you can stomach. You know when you've been beaten, that's why you called for his help over the break. His interpretation of trust differs greatly from yours, and it's not given to many, Fae or not.
"Very well,” he yields. “I will trust you to keep to your oath.”
“Thank you,” you squeeze him closer against you. “And I’m so sorry.”
“It’s alright. Just please, don't break my heart any further," he whispers pleadingly into your ear.
Tumblr media
Apologies are dangerous words to say to a Fae, even a bit demeaning to some. The same with words of thanks, which you often say to him regularly. Malleus has developed a habit of accepting them out of courtesy. It's an aspect of his culture that you struggle to adjust to since it's interpreted differently in human society. You've also told him something he finds humorous, how your aunts constantly enforced you (in your words “beat it into you”) to say "please", "thank you", and “sorry”, as they didn't want others to think they were living in a crude household. It's incredibly ironic considering you tend to swear every other sentence.
You explained that "Thank you"s are acknowledgments of the efforts one makes for another, no matter how small or grandiose the gesture is. Apologies are acknowledgments that one has wronged another and wishes to make amends.
It sounds like common sense, but he understands now what you mean when you tell him "It's the little things that matter most". His heart was hurt when you couldn’t tell him “yes” or even a simple “no”. He's still suffering from the aftermath of his confession, even as he signs off on the last of the invitations for his birthday party, his mind failing to commit to the enthusiastically written words. You've acknowledged that you see his pain and that you recognize that you're its source. Despite having other troubles of your own, you've made it clear that he's now been pushed up your long to-do list and that he's now your main priority.
It brings much-needed relief to his pained heart, though just a bit.
He waits until Sebek is gone before he rummages around his desk for a beige-colored envelope, the one he enchanted and gave to you so you can speak to him over the break (he preferred this method over text messages). It still has your SOS letter in it, written with your now aged and darkened blood.
Malleus. I'm sorry for the smell, but it's all I have on hand. I'm in Scarabia's dorm and they're not letting me leave. I've been here for a few days to help the vice dorm leader with some sort of internal affair, but I think he did something to me that's making it impossible to refuse him anymore. I tried to bail, but they caught me and now they're locking me up and keeping a close eye on me.
If I may be a bit bold, I'm fucking scared out of my mind. I know it's rude of me to make demands without proper compensation, but I think I need some help. I don't want to cause a big fuss, so if you can could you come alone? If you can't that's fine. I'm sure I can pull through until the break ends.
I hope you're doing well. Again, sorry for the smell.
He makes a few more creases in the paper due to gripping it so harshly. He remembers opening it the first time and nearly ripping it in half because of how utterly livid he was. Your fresh blood also didn't help at the time. You didn't state what your current condition was when you drafted the letter and his mind immediately thought of you being injured and that was the reason you wrote it in your blood.
The time between him sneaking past his castle's security once he received your letter to arriving on Sage's Island via his own magic (curse the dark mirror for being inactive during the winter) is a bit of a blur. All he can remember is that he was just so worried for you, a magicless human against an entire dorm of wizards in training. Even someone with subpar control over their magic can do you a great deal of damage.
If sneaking out of his home without telling a soul, potentially causing one of the largest search hunts to commence had someone noticed and reported to his grandmother, doesn't prove how much you mean to him, he doesn't know what will.
One week. If it takes you one more week for you to realize this, then he will wait.
He trusts you, just as you trusted him when you sent him that letter.
He grabs his quill and dips the tip into a jar of ink, writing something quick and straightforward on a spare piece of parchment.
"Please come to my party. It would mean the world to me."
After the ink dries, he folds it and places it in the envelope, sealing it with wax bearing the crest of his family. He needs not utter a single incantation to have it erupt in a blaze of green fire. He waits. One minute. Two. Suddenly, a spark of blue fire erupts on his desk before dissipating, leaving behind the same envelope he burned minus a wax seal.
 He opens it.
  "Of course I will!"

The bell over the door rang and Xie Lian turned from the bouquet he was arranging, forcing his expression into a tired smile as he prepared to greet yet another customer. 520 was an auspicious day for love, and a great day for Xie Lian’s shop, but it was exhausting. His smile widened and became more genuine, though, when he saw his customer: Hua Cheng, one of the few regulars that Xie Lian knew well enough to consider a friend.
Not that they’d ever met any place outside of “Buds to Blooms.”
Not that they’d ever spent much time together.
Not that they talked about anything other than flowers, at least not most of the time.
Not that they had really any relationship at all, no matter how much Xie Lian might want one.
Hua Cheng looked especially dapper for the holiday, tall, slim form clothed in black slacks, a red button up shirt, and a black suit jacket. Silver jewelry adorned his neck, an intricate filigree in the shape of butterfly nestled between the open buttons of the top of his shirt. His fingers were beringed, one looped with a red string that seemed oddly familiar, and sparkling chains were threaded through his long hair. Tiny chimes sounded every time he moved his head. As if his attire wasn’t enough to demonstrate that he had a date for the evening, his eye patch, usually plain, today was decorated with a red felt heart that Xie Lian suspected had been sewn on by hand.
He was gorgeous.
Something unpleasantly like jealousy curdled in Xie Lian’s stomach. If only he were the one that Hua Cheng got dressed up for...if only he were the one Hua Cheng wanted...if only--
“Xie Lian?” Hua Cheng asked.
Blinking, Xie Lian flushed. He’d been staring, a white rose stem still clutched in one hand, his trimmers in the other. With a shake of his head, he shoved the blossom into the arrangement he’d been working on, set the clippers down, and wiped his hands on his apron as he stepped out from behind the counter.
“Good evening, Hua Cheng,” he said brightly. Being jealous of the man, woman, or genderqueer individual privileged to spend the evening with Hua Cheng was absurd. “You’ve got perfect timing, I was just about to close up for the night.” Xie Lian was under no delusions of what his actual relationship with Hua Cheng was - customer and businessman, with a splash of friendship. “Indeed...I’d probably be closed already, except I wanted to get a head start on tomorrow.”
“I know,” said Hua Cheng with a toothy grin. “I got tired of waiting.” Confused, Xie Lian tilted his head to one side. Stopping in the middle of the open store floor, Hua Cheng turned a slow circle, eye searching the decimated shelves and coolers. “Wow, you musta been busy.” Xie Lian usually prided himself on the profusion and variety of flowers he kept in stock, but closing time on the busiest day of the year saw him nearly cleaned out.
“I’m exhausted,” Xie Lian confessed. With any normal customer, he’d never have admitted it - always have to be bright and perky and indefatigable for the clientele! - but Hua Cheng wasn’t a normal customer. “But 520 day alone pays my rent for most of the year, so it’s worth it.”
“I’m sure it is,” Hua Cheng murmured. “And I’m sure you need a break, so…” A decisive nod set of a cascade of beautiful music as Hua Cheng strode to one of the coolers and pulled it open. A few bedraggled bouquets and a single bucket full of stalks of cape jasmine were all that remained within. Every year, Xie Lian stocked up on the cape jasmine, tiny white blossoms nestled in profusion amidst evergreen leaves, and every year hardly anyone bought any. Xie Lian didn’t care. They were his favorite flower, and a small indulgence, and when no one bought them, he got to take them home and put them on his dining room table and imagine impossible things while he ate dinner for one on the most romantic night of the year.
Except apparently not this year, because Hua Cheng ignored the arrangements and grabbed the entire plastic vase of jasmine.
“How much for all of these?” Hua Cheng asked, hefting the container and letting the cooler door slide shut behind him.
Could he be any more perfect?
“Oh...uh…” Catching his lip between his teeth, Xie Lian looked at the flowers, looked at Hua Cheng, looked at the darkness outside his shop window, and sighed. “...just take them. You’re a loyal customer, and it’s not like I was going to sell them to anyone else tonight. They’ll be past selling by tomorrow, so…”
“No,” replied Hua Cheng firmly. Xie Lian frowned, confusion intensifying. “Name a price.”
“But--”
“Look. There’s this person. I’ve tried everything I can think of to let them know how I feel, and nothing has worked. And I have a suspicion or three about why they won’t listen, so tonight is the night. They’re worth it, and I need them to know they’re worth it, and so I’m paying, and then I’m taking these flowers to them, and then - unless I’m devastatingly wrong about their opinion of me - we’re spending the evening together, and I’m getting them dinner, and maybe giving them a foot massage. So. Tell me how much I owe you, Xie Lian.”
No, seriously - could he be any more perfect?
Yes, he could...if I was the person he was doing all those nice things for.
Xie Lian heaved a sigh. “250 yuan,” he said. Hua Cheng lifted a suspicious eyebrow. Yeah, Xie Lian might have low-balled that number a little...a lot… “...okay, more like 400.”
“Perfect,” Hua Cheng announced. Setting the container down at his feet, he reached into a pocket, withdrew a billfold, and deliberately counted out 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 100 renminbi bills.
“Hua Ch--”
“Zip it,” Hua Cheng said, setting the money down on the counter just behind Xie Lian. Because Xie Lian was still just standing there. With his hands at his sides. Staring. And feeling sorry for himself. “I’m taking the container too.”
“That still doesn’t cost--”
Oh, but he was so tired.
“This person is worth it.”
Xie Lian struggled to keep his exhale from leaving as a forlorn sigh; it whispered from him, leaving his shoulders slumped, his mind fogged, and his chest hollow. “Alright. Have a nice night, Hua Cheng.”
“I will.” There was an inexplicable intensity to Hua Cheng’s voice, but Xie Lian didn’t want to try to understand. What he already knew hurt enough, and he knew he was being absurd. Dwelling on it would only intensify his sadness. Hua Cheng lifted the bucket of jasmine again, hugged it close with apparent indifference to the damage it might do to his expensive suit, and walked to the door. “I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“Yeah, of course,” said Xie Lian, his voice empty, his heart empty, his store empty, his life...he shook his head and followed Hua Cheng to the door. Given Hua Cheng’s burdens, Xie Lian hustled and stepped before him, opening the door so he could leave without even more difficulty. “Thanks as always for your business.”
“My business…” Hua Cheng echoed. “Is that what this is?”
Xie Lian had no idea what Hua Cheng meant.
Xie Lian refused to think about what Hua Cheng meant, as Hua Cheng stepped out of the store, and Xie Lian closed and locked the door behind him, and Xie Lian turned and stared at his barren shelves, cast in deep shadow in the low evening light.
Tomorrow, he’d be up bright and early to receive his shipments, make the day’s deliveries, run the business, do all the work of owning a florist shop himself.
Tomorrow, he’d be collected, and calm, and professional.
Today…
A single teardrop made a wet, cool line down his cheek.
...today, he was being ridiculous.
Shaking off his melancholy, Xie Lian set about shutting down. There were cases to refill, vases to wash, coolers to clean. There was work to do, so much work to do, and he lost himself in the rhythm of it, in the simple joy it brought him. Minutes passed, the evening stretching later. Outside, he could hear as celebrators walked by. There was so much joy and jollity in their voices, and brought him a sense of pride to reflect and think - he helped make the day better for many people. His flowers brought happiness to dozens, hundreds, of people.
It was enough.
His flowers brought happiness to Hua Cheng.
It was almost enough.
It was--
A knock-knock-knock startled Xie Lian as he carefully swept bits of leaf and petal into his palm after wiping the cooler interior. Tumbling to his bottom, scattering flower bits over his lap, he sat there blinking. It was probably just some doomed boyfriend or husband realizing they’d forgotten to buy their love a gift. It was probably...but he glanced toward the exterior door, and there was no one there.
Knock, knock, knock.
Uncertain, Xie Lian rose and walked toward the back of the store. The knocking grew louder the closer he drew to the receiving door, and finally, baffled, Xie Lian went to it and peered through the peekhole.
Hua Cheng stood outside, smile suave, arms embracing the container of cape jasmine branches.
Xie Lian hesitantly unlocked the door and pulled it open. “Apologies, was there something wrong with…?”
“Oh, never,” replied Hua Cheng brightly. “I just got tired of waiting. Again.”
“I don’t…um...?”
“I told you, I have someone very important I want to see tonight, and they deserve to know how much I value them.”
Hearing it again stung. Did Hua Cheng really have to rub in how special this person was to him? What did any of it have to do with Xie Lian? Why was Hua Cheng here, instead of with them? None of it made any sense, and Xie Lian didn’t want to think about it, except how could he not think, and wonder, and mourn, with Hua Cheng standing in front of him once more?
“I’m sorry...I don’t…”
Hua Cheng rolled his eye. “Unfortunately, he’s not always the most observant individual, but I forgive him for that. To tell you the truth,” Hua Cheng whispered, leaning forward conspiratorially, “I’d forgive him anything.”
Wait.
Was Hua Cheng implying…
Don’t think about it.
“Huh?” asked Xie Lian.
...but it almost sounds like...
With a hearty, gorgeous laugh that set flower bucket water sloshing to the ground, Hua Cheng threw his head back. “They’re for you, Xie Lian,” he managed between gales. “They’re your favorite, right?”
Oh.
Oh...oh, wow.
No...it couldn’t be.
“Huh?!”
Setting the container of flowers down beside the door, Hua Cheng withdrew one stalk, length heavily bowed with tiny white blossoms, and held it out for Xie Lian to take. Too tired, too bemused, too drunk on nascent hope to decline, Xie Lian took it.
“I couldn’t exactly ask you out while you were on the clock,” Hua Cheng explained. “For a long time, I thought I’d been so clear about my interest, and that surely you’d pick up on it and, if you were interested, respond in kind. But even though you flirted back, you never, ever did, and I started to wonder...I was pretty depressed about it for a while there…”
“...you stopped coming for a few months…” murmured Xie Lian.
“Yup, exactly - then. But I couldn’t stay away, and when I returned you were so happy to see me, and I couldn’t believe I’d misread your mutual interest so completely. And then it occurred to me...what if it wasn’t your interest I’d misread, but...you?”
“Me?”
“You’re so quiet.” Hua Cheng’s voice was fond, his expression gentle, and he reached out with a hand to cup Xie Lian’s chin. “You’re so kind.” The red string tied around Hua Cheng’s finger brushed Xie Lian’s cheek. “You’re so self-effacing.” The feel of it was familiar, and Xie Lian finally recognized it - it was one of his strings, from the store, the ones he used to tie bouquets. “You would never presume that I’d be more interested in you than in the flowers you sold.” Hua Cheng was wearing it like jewelry. “Not that I don’t love flowers - I do, truly.” That was so… “Almost as much as I love you.”
...so…
...wait, what?
“Hua Cheng,” Xie Lian breathed, heart in his throat, tears in his eyes.
“Will you go out with me tonight, A-Lian?” asked Hua Cheng, deep and rich and gloriously sincere.
Xie Lian opened his mouth, closed it, opened it, closed it, blinked away tears, and then smiled. “I guess it depends,” he said with a grin.
It was gratifying to see Hua Cheng look a fraction as confused as Xie Lian had felt most of the evening. “On what?”
“...did you mean what you said earlier?”
“Every word.”
“Even the part about the foot massage?”
“Especially the part about the foot massage!” said Hua Cheng. “When was the last time you sat down?”
“I don’t even remember,” Xie Lian admitted. “It’s been a long day.”
“I know, A-Lian.” Sliding a hand down Xie Lian’s neck, along his shoulder, and down his arm, Hua Cheng took Xie Lian’s hand in his own, clasped both their fingers around the jasmine stem, raised it to his lips, and gave it a gentle kiss. Jasmine petals rained down between them like spring rain. “So I hope you’ll forgive me for making it even longer.”
“Oh, Hua Cheng…” Joy bursting through his heart, Xie Lian allowed Hua Cheng to gently tug him out the back and pull the door closed behind them. “...A-Cheng…” The soothing scent of jasmine flowers filled the alley. “I’d forgive you anything.”
“Anything, anything?”
“Anything, anything,” Xie Lian confirmed. “Though--”
“Knew there’d be a catch.”
“--I’d appreciate if I could go home and change before dinner?”
“...that’s fair. Should I wait for you here?” asked Hua Cheng with a gesture to the narrow, dirty alley.
“Why don’t you walk me back?” Xie Lian suggested.
“Not nervous about inviting a strange man back to your place?” Hua Cheng teased.
“I think only a strange man would want to come back to my place…”
“As I suspected - you sell yourself far too short.”
“Then aren’t I lucky to have you to tell me your worth?”
I do have you, right? You really think…
“You are,” Hua Cheng replied, unhesitating and firm. “And I will.”
...you really do.
“Wow.”
I was right.
“You’re worth everything to me, A-Lian.”
He really is so perfect...
“And you, to me.”
...we’re really perfect.
And, hand-in-hand, in a cloud of cape jasmine blossoms and a choir of chimes, they walked toward Xie Lian’s apartment.
Together.

Tumblr media
Getting out of your car, the cool morning breeze caressed what it could of your exposed skin. The walk from the parking lot to the courthouse wasn’t long, but the chills that ran through your body made it feel like it took a little over the usual 5 minutes.
The sun shined like every morning, yet today it felt different somehow.
Maybe it was wishful thinking, but it felt as if today would be the beginning of something new or different, and that was a lot to say for someone like you.
“Morning judge y/n!”
“Morning”
Your job placed you in a position where you were always in the eyes of criminals and felons that were either angry, moody, violent, sad or careless  —and any other word you can come up with, when thinking about wrongdoers who are finally facing the law— forcing you to try seeking for positivity in other aspects of your life.
Tumblr media
Since you were a child, you always had an itch that annoyed you every time you had to be in the presence of an unfair or unethical situation and couldn’t do anything about it.
It is positive to say that you got it from your mother's strong moral views on righteousness, honesty, and integrity.
And so a dream came up to you, a dream you had expressed to your parents at the tender age of 5 while watching cartoons one cold morning, your parents discussing the latest incident on that morning's newspaper on the other side of the room.
"I want to put all those kwiminals in jail"
There was something fulfilling about being able to help people get justice for the wrongs that were done to them, something about making the corrupt, nefarious, and unlawful pay. Your dream never wavered, the sole thought of what the future would hold made you buzz with excitement during your teenage years and still did now in your adulthood.
It was present during your entire life, you weren't afraid of speaking up when a witness was needed in an unfair situation in school, whether you were putting yourself in a position against a classmate or a teacher, all that mattered was that the problem was solved in a fair manner.
Yet, even though you kept steadfast loyalty towards your beliefs, it sometimes got you in trouble, as not everyone sees good in someone openly voicing their wrongdoings. Leading you to sometimes being labeled as a snitch —and no one wants to befriend a snitch—.
Nevertheless, you pushed through, finally meeting people that shared your views in college.
It was nice to be able to have a conversation with people with the same mentality and strong feelings towards justice as yourself —not saying that you didn't encounter people who were walking this path just for the money.
And finally, after graduating from law school with two of your closest friends by your side, you decided it had been way too long of a peaceful ride for the evildoers and it was time to get with it.
Tumblr media
"Good morning Y/n!" A voice spoke loudly from behind you.
"Morning Guk! How was your weekend?" It was always nice to see Jungkook 1st thing in the morning. For some reason, his cute bunny teeth always gave you life.
Jungkook was one of your friends from college AKA best friend #1. He had the face of a baby with the wisdom of a 70-year-old man –who would have thought.
His words towards you were always of encouragement or offerings of helping you with anything you needed –just like in college.
He was methodical with his work, always studying his cases with a careful eye and with discipline. Some hated it, stating he took way too long to make final judgments, however, there wasn't a ruling that Jungkook had ever issued where the victim had been left to suffer the mischief without the guilty paying the price.
"Pretty calm actually, taking into consideration that I had the Kang case on Sunday" The younger of your friends exhaled "That man has got to get a grip on his life, this is his 3rd showing" He made a pause as if bringing up some memories from the case, however, he quickly returned to the present "How was yours?"
"It was quiet; abnormally so, thus my wild guess is that this week I'm going to be assigned as many cases as possible."
"I know that feeling. The impending doom crawling towards you in the shape of Jimin dropping them on your desk."
“Yep…” You sighed bracing yourself for the upcoming day.
Briefly talking about other uninteresting subjects and your mundane lives –like, when was Seokjin going to invite both of you out for lunch— you both eventually parted ways to your own chambers.
 "Good morning Judge Y/n"
"Morning Jimin, you look refreshed!"
Jimin —your perky judicial secretary— was the earthly version of an angel mixed with a dutiful fairy, you sometimes wondered how he even managed to hold up that 1,000-watt smile all day while dealing with you.
You had been working together for 3 years now and every year they decided to rotate the secretaries, you prayed they wouldn't change him for someone else.
"I am! Thanks for the days off, they really helped!"
"Don't mention it bubs. What do you have for me today?" You asked as your heels clicked on the tile making your way behind your large rectangular Victorian style oak desk, Jimin quickly trailing behind you with a stack of folders in his arms.
"These four are for today and these four are for tomorrow" he said as he divided them into two groups in front of you. "I'll have the ones for Wednesday and Thursday ready by tomorrow" he concluded with a small nod and a smile of accomplishment on his plump lips.
"Thanks, Jimin. What would I do without you?" you smiled up at the younger man, who smiled wider and turned to leave to his own desk a couple of feet away from yours.
Tumblr media
Finally, mentally prepared to start your day —after mindlessly scrolling through your phone for 20 minutes— you unlocked your computer and began reading through the files that Jimin had left on your desk labeled ‘Monday’.
"Another asshole, who thought he could get away with a hit and run..." you muttered to yourself, as you reviewed the first case.
The following trials were for a domestic violence case and 2 robberies.
After reviewing the files, you began transcribing some of the information on your computer, adding personal notes based on the evidence that had been collected for each case and saved it all for its intended use in the next 2 hours.
"Since no one likes a slacker, I might as well go through the ones for tomorrow as well."
As expected, there was another case of robbery, one for theft, a case for assault and last but not least a misdemeanor for street racing.
Tumblr media
After an hour of transcribing that called for a well-deserved break, you stretched your arms above your head, sighing softly as the tension was released.
"Judge... would you like some tea? I'm on my way to the Cafe"
"Ugh Jimin, I love you, why are you so sweet, I'll come with." As you both picked up your belongings and were about to head out to the small cafe across the street, an unforeseen visitor arrived abruptly, startling both you and your secretary.
"Oh, so you're both slacking off now. I thought that was a Y/n thing?"
"I- No judge- we-" Poor Jimin couldn’t even complete a sentence, his mind still in a jumble as a result of the sudden barge into your chamber.
"Seokjin, shut up.” You cut your eyes at his comment. “We are going to the café. You either come with or move out of the way." You laughed a bit while pushing past your best friend #2, making your way out.
Oh, how lucky were you to be able to have them working near you.
Tumblr media
Back from the cafe and ready to face all cases for the day, you walk to your chamber accompanied by Jimin who helped you wear your black robe, both quickly headed to the courtroom for your first trial right after.
Monday had gone by smoothly; all cases being addressed as they should and all sentences set in place.
Tuesday was a better day, the morning had been less chilly than the day prior and you could read a bit before your hearings of the day, since you had proactively  reviewed the cases of today, yesterday.
After the third time hearing it today, a fourth was just unnecessary, however entering the courtroom for the fourth time on that day, you heard the bailiff announcing your arrival.
“All rise. This court is now in session.” Shuffling could be heard, a sign of everyone in the room getting on their feet. “Honorable judge Y/n L/n Presiding.”
You took your seat and announced to everyone that they could do so too. You took the files that the bailiff handed you and began reading the case.
“Good morning everyone. Today's hearing is for case 3476, the city vs Lee Simon, Kim Taehyung and Jean Reynolds” you announced.
“Lee Simon, Kim Taehyung and Jean Reynolds, all three of them, age 26, accused of trespassing private property, injury of a third party and driving over the speed limit, while being timed against each other. All of it initiating from 25th avenue to Map of the Soul street.” You concluded.
“How do you plead?”
“Innocent” “Guilty” “Innocent”
Internally, you wanted to laugh, but you knew your position required for you to remain serious and focused. It wasn’t the first time a group of friends split due to being involved in a situation they weren’t expected to be in, and it wouldn’t be the last.
“Seeing that you have different views, let us review the information presented.”
Videos and pictures from street cameras were shown, as well as footed from a dash camera in a hidden police vehicle.
“Evidence shown so far, seems to portray all three of you as guilty, and the witnesses are yet to come in, excluding the owner of the vehicle you crashed into while running against each other as well as the owner of the private property you drove through.”
You watched all three of them carefully as you gave them a run through of how this case was going on for them. Two off them looked indifferent, like someone who has done it before, did it this time and will probably do so again.
A chance was soon to be given to all three of them to express why they believed they were innocent, however another piece of evidence was brought in.
“According to this report sent in about your record, you are all repeat offenders, meaning that your options are limited; paying for the legal fees and community service, paying for the legal fees and 1 year jail time or paying for the legal fees, suspension of your driver’s license, a fee of $10,000 and a possibility of impoundment of the motor vehicle used in the crime.”
"I am going to admit I was there, but I did it for a specific reason, your honor."
"And what reason could that be?"
“Can I approach the bench?”
“Permission granted." The man in question slowly approached you, eyes never wavering from yours.
"I needed the money your honor. I have a daughter..."
"Says here, that you have been detained before and gave out the same reason, so why should we let you off easy Mr. Kim?"
“So… there is no way we aren’t paying the legal fees -I take it?” the one with the tiger-like eyes spoke up, a small smile playing on his lips as he did so.
“No” the frown on your face was so pronounced, that no area was left for more of his attempt to banter.
“Do I get the easier outcomes if I plead guilty.”
“That’s a possibility...” Now you know why he pleaded guilty. He’s not new to this.
“I have a daughter your honor… I can’t go to jail” He said before you were able to add to your previous sentence.
“That’s for me to decide, however, can’t she stay with a family member?”
“She only has me…” his eyes turned gloomy as he directed his gaze to the floor Infront of you. Should you even trust that action. It could be staged for all you know.
It annoyed you the way how the immediate mention of a child felt like a tool he was using to soften the blow of your possible verdict. However, it still got under your skin and you felt your hard-exterior crumble, allowing your feelings to take over and think about the poor child that would have to deal with an uncomfortable situation.
“How old is your daughter Mr. Kim?”
“four” His demeanor changed entirely the moment he found more time to speak about the hypothetical child he had.
“Who is she with at the moment?”
“A friend”
“Everyone back to their seats…”
You were so predictable. Jungkook would have never softened for something like that.
He would have given him 2 years in jail, taken his car, taken his driver’s license and custody of the child as well, for not being a suitable parent. But no, you had to be like Seokjin, soft hearted and taking people’s feelings into consideration. Bleh.
“Based on the evidence collected. I am ready to provide a verdict for this case. Lee Simon and Jean Reynolds you are sentenced to serve 6 months of county jail time, pay a fine of $5,000 plus all legal fees and your license will be suspended for 6 months. Kim Taehyung, you are sentenced to a fine of $3,000, suspension of your driver’s license for 6 months, paying the legal fees and community service for 6 months.” You stated re arranging the documentation on your desk and setting them aside.
“Please take them. Mr. Kim shall be escorted to the officer’s department in order to have his rules set in place.”
“Thank you.” A voice said to you right after. You didn’t have to turn to know it was Kim Taehyung, however you did so. He was flashing you a large square smile. It wasn't 1,000 watts like Jimin’s but it was still warm and different, even a bit playful if you looked at it for long.
“That daughter of yours better be real.” You muttered before collecting the final documentation and exiting the room.
But not before hearing.
“Didn’t know they had such pretty judges in here, I should get arrested more often.”
You should have put him in jail. Or maybe not.
Tumblr media
It’s funny how you haven’t been able to get your mind to stop remembering his cheeky squared smile and that aura of a playful child in a large man. It's been 2 weeks now.
Yet you can’t forget him walking up into your courtroom with all that confidence, as if he owned the place.
“Ugh”
“Everything ok?”
You gasped loudly, not having heard Jimin enter the chamber as you mindlessly rolled your mouse around and thought about the man who you sentenced to community service a couple of weeks ago.
“You nearly killed me Jimin!” you voiced a little louder than you should have, the fright still showing in your tone.
“I'm sorry" poor kid, all he did was be nice all day.
“You're fine, I just didn’t hear you come in” you answered, returning to aimlessly move your mouse and stare at the open word document on your computer screen.
“Oh! I see. Well in your favor, I was trying to be quiet. Anyways, what are you doing here so early judge y/n?” leave it to Jimin to always worry about others.
“I thought I could… focus on something else by working a little, but the chambers triggered my distractions even more…” You tried internally to not bring it up, but you knew you had to tell someone about it.
About the fact that maybe you might have an itty-bitty tiny crush on a man you barely saw for a span of 40 minutes and convicted for a crime. You are so lame.
Jimin moved around his desk -you assumed- arranging all of his documents for the day and bring his computer to life.
“and what is it?” he asked you after a couple of minutes of comfortable silence.
“What is what?”
“The distraction that's caught your attention, what is it?” his eyes stared at you widely, they looked so earnest and kind. Just wanting to help you with whatever inconvenience you were having.
“Um… well… you’ll probably think it's dumb"
“I promise I won't” he answered so fast, it felt like he was expecting you to decline opening up to him.
“Well…. I… kinda-have-a-small-crush-on-a-man-I-barely-know-and-could-be-a-scofflaw.”
Your sentence had come out abruptly and in such a rapid fire, that you could see the cogs turning in Jimin’s head as he connected all the things you had said and laced them together.
“Did you just say scofflaw?”
“Is that all you caught from my sentence?” flabbergasted, that's what you were with his reaction.
“No, but… really? scofflaw? Not even judge Harry who's 78 uses that term anymore.”
“Not the point Jimin…" frustrated at the weird turn the conversation had taken, you pinched your nose bridge, trying to figure out the young man's train of thought .
“Ok, ok. But is it one of the guys from a couple of weeks ago. The street racer ones?”
“How do you-"
“Eva from the reception said that, Joyce from finance told her that, Hyerin from chamber 5, saw them being called in on their hearing day and that they were all —her words, not mine— as hot as a super-sized bag of flamin hot Cheetos.”
Now that’s stuck in your mind. Jimin was definitely not helping.
Tumblr media
 “Curse you, procrastination!”
Grocery shopping should have been done weeks ago. But you were tired, and sleepy and distracted and everything in between that could keep you from doing the boring task that  buying your own food was.
Tumblr media
Walking through the aisles in the grocery store, you could hear a little girl talking her —probably parent's— ear off.
Not paying too much attention to her, you were barely able to catch a couple of words here and there as you walked around picking up what you needed.
"Fishies would be a good pet because I can't hu't it if I hug it awound his house"
"Why can't I see my own eyes?"
"Can we get vanilla this time, stwabewies we'e yuck!"
"How do clouds float? Why don't they fall?"
"Look! Look! A toy!"
She sounded so excited and the little lisp with her R's was the cutest, you thought.
You were almost done with your list, only missing some meat or poultry and a pound of potatoes, —'cause you've been craving gratin potatoes for a while and you were done living a life without them.
Making your way to the missing items, you could once again hear a conversation going on between the little girl and the other person, but this time the adult with her spoke. It was a grave voice, very deep and somewhat familiar, yet not enough to put a face to it.
"You are not having a pet, until you understand the responsibilities that come with taking care of an animal" The voice answered the little girl sternly. You could imagine the man's face voided of any emotion and trying to maintain a serious visage. Probably trying to teach his daughter a lesson.
Again, the voice sounded familiar, giving you a tingling sensation in the back of your mind. However, in your distraction, the links that attempted to connect in your mind remained ignored.
You continued rolling your cart, hastily turning around each corner; ready to pick up what you were missing and bolt home to make the delicious meal you have been craving for.
However, you were suddenly stopped by another cart that crashed right into yours as they rushed towards you from around the corner.
"Oof, My bad" - "Oh no! I'm so sorry!"
 You both said in unison.
“Oh...” Came the immediate reaction from both of you, as you noticed who the person you had bumped into was.
"So, the whole you having a daughter wasn’t a lie after all"
"You offend me your honor." Was his reply as he chuckled a bit to himself "But I guess I am not a good example of what a decent human or father should be like..."
"Oh Hush! We all make mistakes. Even some that land us in Jury or court" You giggled a little trying to soften whatever thought had him thinking he was the worst human ever to walk on this earth.
Of course, he had made a mistake —a couple of them at that—   but it wasn’t murder, and he was attempting to make an income for his family.
"What's her name?" You asked him as you both watched her eyeing the fish tank you assumed she saw the fish at before.
"Yoonah. But she prefers to be called Nah-Nah" His voice mellowed. You looked at him with a smirk on your face, but all you got was the sight of a man watching his daughter with the fondest of gazes. So much love could be found in his eyes, he was proud and filled with warmth. The small smiled that decorated his features said it all.
 “Is she your only daughter?”
Your question brought him back to the present.
“Oh, yeah – she is” Was his curt answer. The tone he used made you feel a bit guilty, as if you were way too into his business, so you decided to cut it short.
“Well it was nice meeting you outside of court Mr. Kim –and little miss Yoonah as well.” Were your final words as you waved your hand swiftly and left to finish your shopping, missing entirely the smile that graced his lips when he heard you address his little girl.
For some reason, you hoped to see them one more time before you left the store, just to make sure they were ok —even though there was nothing dangerous at a grocery store.
 --
After so much fussing and so many tantrums, Kim Taehyung was finally tired out.
It could be seen from a mile away, just by watching his shoulders slightly slump and Yoonah grinning up at him with a content expression.
Naturally, the best view of your day was Kim Taehyung walking out of the grocery store with four bags on one shoulder and a small plastic bag in his right hand, filled with water and two gold fish swimming peacefully.
So much for the sterned voice he had back there.
You lingered a little more on your way to your own car, head turning slightly to your left, just to watch him interact with his daughter. You are sure you look like a creep, but it was so endearing, you couldn’t help yourself.
He kept her close by while he loaded the trunk with groceries and tickled her sides while placing her in her car seat. N sight of a father that didn’t care for his daughter or an irresponsible parent. Yeah, that was going to be your excuse for staring longer than needed.
Yet what was a little more time for you, was enough to give him a full view of you watching them both with something in your expression that he couldn’t read, but whatever it was, had his heart racing a little more than it should for somewhat of a stranger that could put him in jail.
Tumblr media
You’re not sure if it’s one of those times where once you meet someone one time, you end up seeing them everywhere.
How is it possible that on a chill evening in the park, while you were enjoying a slow-paced stroll and a hot chocolate in your hands, you see him again. You are about to start thinking that maybe he is following you and in addition to committing his past crime, he is also a stalker.
But he couldn’t be. He’s not even looking at you. From your short distance from him, you can see his eyes trained on something else. A fond smile decorated his lips as if whatever held his attention was above everything in this world.
From this angle you could appreciate his profile. A very handsome man you should say.
His eyes slowly crinkle into smaller half-moons in favor of his now growing smile taking more space. His teeth now baring and the apple of his cheeks flexing.
Oh! what a sight.
What would it feel like to poke them? you thought to yourself.
Yet, your legs had other plans and were already in action. Your brain had already sent signals to your arms and fingers to poke all soft parts that it came into contact with.
You are a judge, for goodness’s sake, touching someone without their authorization is battery. What are you doing?
Yet right before you were able to do so you heard her.
“Daddy!” The soft giggles that followed filled the air that surrounded you. You turned your head to the direction of the sound and just in time you caught the sight of a little girl running from the playground into Taehyung’s arms.
Before you even turned to him, he was already catching her, squeezing her tightly in his embrace.
“Did you see that daddy? I did it!”
“Yes, you did princess! And you were amazing! Best cartwheel I have ever seen!”
The little girl giggled and squealed as Taehyung blew raspberries everywhere around her.
When she finally calmed down, her eyes met yours and her head tilted in questions.
“It’s the groceries lady daddy!”
Turning to look at who his daughter was pointing at, he met you, only 3 steps away from him.
“Jud- Judge Y/n?”
“Hi again Mr. Kim, seems like we keep bumping into each other.”
“So it seems.” Today his smile was a careless one or was it a content one. Either way they were still that remarkable boxy smile.
“Nice to see you again miss Nah-Nah.” You greeted the little girl that had noticed you first and a hearty giggle left her body in return.
“What brings you here?” Asked the man that you had somehow forgotten was by your side or maybe you were just trying to ignore the strong tiger eyes that bore into you by entertaining a conversation with his cute daughter.
“Daddy, can I go to the big slide?”
“Not, without supervision Nah-Nah.” He answered so seriously, it reminded you of the voice in the grocery store.
“But daddy, I am a big gu’l now”
“Nah-Nah…”
“Daddy…” he sighed so loudly; you couldn’t help but laugh at his odyssey.
It was Deja vu from the grocery store and fish all over again. All that big father talk for nothing. He was so whipped for his daughter.
“Ok, let’s make a deal…”
“Yes!”
“You can go to the big slide, but if you get an ‘owie’, I want you to get up and dust off just like big girls do. Ok?”
“Yes, daddy.”
“Ok, princess. Go on”
Not a second went by after his sentence and little Yoonah was already off to an adventure with the rest of the kids in the park.
“She is so precious”
“Thank you”
You both stayed in a comfortable silence, staring into the distance in the direction Yoonah had left of. However, that peace was cut by the man standing near you.
“So, are you following us now your honor?” That playful smirk of his was back, alerting you quickly that he was just attempting at a friendly banter with you.
“Hmm, maybe I am, but I’ll never let you know.” You said winking at him.
He laughed so loud at the action, that you could not hold back a laughter of your own.
“So you do have a sense of humor” He stated after calming down.
“I do, when I am outside of my line of work.”
“Understandable…”
Once again, a comfortable silence fell between you both as you watched his daughter running around filled with glee, playing with other children.
“So, who were the ugly judges you encountered before me?” Now it was your turn to start the conversation and again he laughed. Who would have thought you were this funny.
“So, you did hear that.”
You definitely did and deep within you hoped he meant it. Even though it wasn’t the time or place for his flirting.
“Maybe…”
“I meant it… just in case you were wondering.”
Yes, you were!!!
“Oh! I- umm… Thank you.” You could feel your face heating up, however you refused to end the eye contact you were keeping up since your conversation began.
“Anytime… Like honestly. Any. Time. And every time. I’ll repeat it every time I find it necessary.” He said his smile growing with each word that he sent your way. And you, well you weren’t one to back down on a flirting challenge.
“And how is that possible, if we don’t see each other all the time?” you asked, acting coyly.
“I might have a solution for that, your honor.” Welp. Now you got yourself into something.
Tumblr media
Two weeks had gone by since that day.
Two weeks after Mr. Kim had asked for your number and invited you for ice cream with Yoonah, under the excuse of a thank you for not sending him to jail. Needless to say, you quickly corrected his statement to not have him think this was a favor you had done for him, but a decision you had made based on evidence and circumstances surrounding the case.
It had also been a week since Mr. Kim changed from that name to Taehyung.
The mocking that came with you saying his given name for the first time was endless.
“Awww, so no more Mr. Kim?”
“Shut it Taehyung!”

c-could u write smth with solid? n him being best problematic pretty boy? 🥺🥺🥺 tyyyyy <3 (dies)
Ohohoh it would be my pleasure~
I think I was both meaner and nicer to Solid than you wanted me to be but here’s Solid on his 21st birthday
--
On the morning of February 26th, Solid woke up with stars in his eyes. He dressed quickly and hurried to the dining room, sucking in breaths of air in search of the smells of his favorite breakfast. It wasn’t until the table came into view that he smelled anything at all, and when he did, it was only fresh waffles. No ham, or eggs, or even a quiche. Nothing out of the ordinary at all.
Nozel and Nebra sat at the table, browsing the paper over cups of tea and waffles. “Morning,” Nebra greeted, her pink eyes never leaving the paper.
“You’re up early,” Nozel observed in the same disinterested fashion.
“Yeah.” He padded into the room and sank into a chair. “I was expecting a big breakfast.”
“Oh? Why is that?” Nebra asked.
Solid glowered to stave off a hurt pout. “Don’t you remember what day it is?”
Nozel and Nebra exchanged a puzzled look, but didn’t dwell on the question long before returning to reading. “The Wizard King addresses the public today, but not until this evening, which definitely doesn’t warrant a big breakfast,” Nebra said. Nozel hummed in agreement.
Solid’s shoulders slacked. He picked up a waffle and drowned it in honey. “Yeah, I guess not.”
By the time breakfast was over, Solid decided that his siblings must be playing a trick on him. They’d never made such an error before, so there was no way that this faux pas was intentional. He’d bide his time, and wait for a surprise-- probably at work. Besides, surely his other friends would remember. This was nothing to lose his head about-- even if it was the most important day of his life in six years.
To his surprise, the Silver Eagles base showed no sign of knowing about his special day. He expected some cards on his desk, or a couple casual ‘Happy birthdays’ from other knights, but no one mentioned his birthday at all. There were no cards on his desk, and no presents delivered to his office. Not that he needed presents. He was royalty; he could have anything he wanted. But didn’t the Silver Eagles know how lucky they were for the chance to wish a royal happy birthday? Why wasn’t anybody saying anything? It hadn’t been this way on his last six birthdays, which were far less important.
Maybe he wouldn’t have felt as bad if he had anything to do, but of course this was the day he had no work to catch up on. So halfway through the day, he found himself sitting in his office, glaring at his desk while no one paid him any attention. If he thought it’d make a statement, he’d leave. But it seemed like at this rate, no one would even miss him.
Finally, he decided that this could not go on. His siblings were too busy to notice, and he could dismiss the other knights forgetting (but not forgive them). But there was one person that he was sure hadn’t forgotten. And it wouldn’t hurt to do a little prodding on that front. He pulled out his communicator and dialed Langris’ number. Rubbing the desperation out of his cheeks, he set the communicator to visual mode and set it on his desk.
His boyfriend’s lovely face appeared in a magical hologram above his communicator. “Hello, Solid. What is it?”
“Hello, Langris.” He smiled easily, confident in what he was seeking. “You kept me waiting, so I called you.”
“Did I?”
Solid’s brow twitched. Forcing his smile to persist, he replied, “Yes, you did. Don’t you have something to tell me?”
Langris stared at him until the silence grew awkward. Then, he looked away. “I don’t think so.”
His smile cracked like glass. “You don’t? Are you sure?”
“I’m very busy today. If you want something, just say it.”
“Are you sure that you have nothing to say to me?”
“I have to go. Goodbye, love.” Langris severed the connection, and the hologram vanished.
Solid stared, mouth hanging open in disbelief. Anger clawed at his throat, but only heartbreak pricked at the corners of his eyes. This had to be fake. This could not be happening.
He pushed himself from his desk, rubbing his eyes with his sleeve. Solid had always cried easily; a quirk that he blamed on his affinity (even though Noelle didn’t share it with him). He slammed his door open and marched out of the base, straight past several surprised knights, including his brother and sister.
“Solid, where are you going?” Nozel called.
“I’m taking a long lunch!” he barked.
He decided that if no one else was going to treat him, he’d treat himself. He bought a large and luxurious lunch at his favorite restaurant, and wasted the afternoon eating it, alone, by himself. Although plate after plate vanished, he couldn’t trick himself into a good mood, and he couldn’t bring himself to have his first legal drink by himself either. When he was finished, he decided that he’d mope around until he was ready to go home. It was his birthday, and if he wanted to throw a pity party, by God, he was going to.
The evening loomed over him as he made his way back to House Silva. He plodded onto the estate without paying the servants any mind; their “Happy birthdays” meant little to him, and made it sting that much more that none of the people he loved had remembered.
He was nearly to his room when a servant stopped him with an announcement. “Master Solid, Lord Nozel and Lady Nebra are waiting for you on the back porch.”
“Tell them I’ve gone to bed early,” he grumbled, shambling down the hall.
“...My lord, they insist on your attendance. I fear they may grow angry if you keep them waiting any longer.”
Solid clenched his jaw. Angry tears prickled in his eyes. Of course they would do something like this; adding insult to injury. He turned on his heel and stomped toward the back porch, angry mana broiling around him. They wanted to forget his birthday and threaten him with their bad moods? Well, he could threaten right back.
The back porch’s French doors were already partially open, and his mana threw them open with a bang. His voice rose to a livid boom, and then broke mid-sentence. “Who do you two think you are, treating me like this!?”
Nebra and Nozel’s heads shot up. They sat at the table, a tall pitcher of iced tea and cups neatly laid out before them. Despite his dramatic entrance, neither of them looked shaken. “We think that we are your brother and sister,” Nozel replied easily.
“And-- And that excuses your behavior!?” he cried, throwing back his head. The tears at the corners of his eyes finally made good on his promise, and hot, angry droplets dribbled down his cheeks. “I will not stand for it! I deserve better!”
“Better than being royalty?” Nozel replied incredulously. Behind her hand, Nebra giggled.
Solid stared through tear-blurred vision; his anger couldn’t keep up with his hurt feelings. “Y-Yes! How could you forget?” His mana coalesced into looming tendrils of water to hide his tears, but it did nothing to mask his quaking voice. “I’ve never forgotten your birthdays! Don’t you care?”
Nebra and Nozel exchanged a knowing look, and Nozel shook his head. With a sigh, he pulled out and turned around the chair tucked into the table between him and Solid. On its seat was a pile of cards and presents.
Solid blinked until his vision cleared. The tempestuous mana around him slowly, cautiously, settled. “Huh?”
“Solid,” Nebra chided, shaking her head. “You really thought that we would forget your 21st birthday?”
He stared.
“You are so immature.” Despite the scathing tone of his voice, Nozel wore a smile. “This bit was supposed to last for at least another five minutes, but if you ran away crying…”
Solid pressed his hands to his cheeks as he turned an embarrassed red. He scurried up to the chair and rifled through the presents. There were gifts there from everyone; from distant family, to royal knights. He dug until he found an envelope with Langris’ handwriting, and he eagerly ripped it open. The card was simple in classic Vaude fashion, with a note written inside, along with a receipt for a reservation at a high-end ski lodge.
Solid,
I apologize for not delivering this personally, but your siblings would not allow it. Forgive me for the part they forced me to play.
Love,
Langris
Solid bit his lip, beating back a wild smile. He balled up the envelope and threw it at Nozel. “Why did you do this to me? Aren’t I too old for this now?”
Noze flicked the ball aside with a smirk. “I did this to Nebra, and I will do this to Noelle. You are not the exception.”
“Sit down with us!” Nebra laughed. She lifted the pitcher and poured him a glass of tea.  “We can have tea and cake while you open your presents.”
Solid pulled out the fourth chair at the table. As he sat down, he took a big swig of iced tea, and nearly spat it right back out. He gagged down the gulp and squawked, “Ugh, what is this!?”
“That, little brother,” Nebra giggled, eyes flashing mischievously, “is Long Island iced tea.”
--
Now, don’t misunderstand. This is a completely asshole move on Nozel and Nebra’s part. They even at their kindest, bitches. But they didn’t expect Solid to lose his shit. Hope you liked it!
For those who don’t know, the legal drinking age in the United States is 21, hence why Solid is so excited!

Gigi Has an Intelligence Kink (Crystal x Gigi) - A-tresia
Life gets a little bit more interesting when Crystal fully embraces the fact that Gigi has a thing for her brain.
In the same universe as Slow Hands. But you don’t need to read it to get this.
The first time it happens, Crystal thinks it’s just Gigi rewarding her for a job well done.
Crystal is obsessively refreshing her Twitter feed, waiting for an announcement that the MCAT scores have been released.
Refresh.
Nothing.
Refresh.
Still nothing.
Refresh.
“Crys.”
“Hmm? What?”
Gigi gently takes her phone off her fidgety hands. “Just turn your notifications on, hun,” she says, doing it herself.
“But –“
“I know. It’s been a month and they’re scheduled to release today,” she repeats what Crystal has been telling her for the better part of the day.
“It’s been a month and they’re scheduled to release today,” Crystal sighs.
Gigi pulls her in closer and sets her phone under their pillow. “Now, try to concentrate on this instead,” she suggests, motioning to the laptop where an episode of Gigi’s new favorite TV show has been paused. Crystal nods in agreement, hits the space bar, and snuggles in closer.
It takes another episode and a half for Crystal’s phone to vibrate, making them both sit up quickly. If Gigi’s being completely honest, she’s just as nervous as Crystal. And she didn’t take the damn test. But she makes the conscious effort to be the calm one here. One of them has to. And it surely won’t be Crystal.
Gigi hits the space bar to pause the show while Crystal gets up from bed to pace while she loads her account. She watches Crystal, jaw slack in apparent shock, stare at her phone before she gets up on her knees to take a look herself. The torture is killing her. She pulls on Crystal’s shirt to maneuver her closer to the bed so she can peek to see.
521.
“Is that good?” Gigi asks.
Crystal hands over her phone to Gigi, still in quite a bit of shock.
“Crys, is this a good score?” Gigi asks again before looking through the lines and numbers on the screen.
Crystal points to the bottom of the screen. “I would hope so because a perfect score is a 528 and this score is in the 99th percentile.”
When she realizes what this means, Gigi drops the phone on the bed to jump on Crystal who stumbles backward, barely catching her. “Your brain, it’s amazing. I’m so proud of you,” she says in between dropping loud wet kisses all over Crystal’s smiling face. “It’s enough for your dream school, right? With your GPA?”
“More than enough, I hope,” Crystal says.
“Is Crystal happy?” Gigi brushes a thumb over the apple of Crystal’s cheek.
“Crystal is still in shock but Crystal is very, very happy.” The pride in her voice makes Gigi’s heart swell.
Gigi takes Crystal’s face in her hands to give her a proper kiss on the mouth — slow and wet and full of tongue and obviously leading to something else.
“Okay, med school talk later.” She slowly slides off Crystal, gently planting her feet onto the floor. She walks them back to the bed, pulling Crystal down with her when the back of her knees hit the edge. “I think you deserve a treat,” she says reaching up underneath Crystal’s shirt.
“I’m not a dog, Gee,” Crystal laughs.
“Shut up, don’t ruin the moment.”
The next time it happens, Crystal thinks it’s just Gigi being her usual clingy self.
She’s on the floor, as usual, three videos deep into her cadaver dissection videos, her anatomy atlas splayed open on her lap, and drowning in paper and pens and colored pencils. She’s struggling to draw and take notes and memorize all at the same time. Maybe, she thinks, she’s bitten off more than she could chew.
Crystal’s muttering anatomic structures under her breath when she hears Gigi whine her name from behind her. If she wasn’t busy, she’d drop everything she was doing to attend to that very needy whine. But she’s too busy, too tired to even think about doing anything other than studying. She doesn’t even have time to sleep. So she ignores it.
“Crystal,” Gigi calls out again. It’s longer. And breathier. And needier.
Crystal turns to look at Gigi, comfortably nestled on the other end of the couch, making grabby hands at her.
“Sorry, babe,” she says before turning back to her work. Her tone is regretful. The smile on her face is tired. But the feeling at the pit of her stomach is telling her to just go for it. It’s Gigi. And she can’t ever say no to Gigi.
“I don’t want to have to deal with things on my own,” Gigi huffs.
“You know what to do with your hands.” She continues this conversation without looking up from her drawings.
Honestly, she doesn’t know why Gigi is even here in the first place. She knows it’s a busy night. She could be home catching up on sleep or hanging out with her friends. But she’s here. Doing what?
“Crystal.”
“Can I make it up to you tomorrow? Please?” She really doesn’t have the patience for this right now. She looks at the time on her phone, it reads 11:27 PM. “Look, I have less than 12 hours until this test and then I promise I’m all yours. I’ll come straight home after. I don’t mind if you do it right there on the couch if you really have to.” Gigi pouts at her so she reaches for Gigi’s hand to kiss her fingers. “Sorry, really. I am.”
She turns back to her notes before Gigi can make a face that she can’t resist. Suddenly, the dwindling time until her test gives her tunnel vision. Nothing else occupies her mind but this, Gigi’s whining is long forgotten.
Crystal doesn’t know what she expects Gigi to do while she studies. Scroll through her socials? Watch a movie? Online shop?
She doesn’t know what to expect.
But she didn’t think it would be this.
Not Crystal being pulled out of focus by the sound of Gigi’s moaning.
And that moan sounds like she just finished.
Crystal slowly turns her head towards Gigi, looking at her with narrowed eyes in disbelief. When she said she didn’t mind, she didn’t think Gigi would actually do it. “Gigi motherfucking Goode, did you just –“
Gigi looks at her smugly, raises a brow at her as she wipes her fingers on her shorts. “Yes. Yes, I did. You said you didn’t mind.”
“Really, Gee? Did the cadaver video do it for you?”
Gigi scrunches her nose at Crystal. “No, that’s gross. It was you studying and being smart.”
“What?” Crystal chuckles.
“It’s hot, okay? You’re hot. It makes me feel things.”
“What?”
“When you’re being your normal smart self – it’s a turn on, okay?”
“What?”
“Shut up!”
It happens again on Gigi’s birthday and Crystal thinks Gigi is losing her mind when she directs Crystal’s hands to her pussy and asks to be fingered while telling her about the cardiac cycle she was studying earlier today. Crystal thinks this request could have quickly pulled her out of the mood but oddly enough – with her whispering in Gigi’s ear, with her fingers inside Gigi, and with Gigi writhing and moaning and babbling against her – she finds that it makes her feel things too.
Life gets a little bit more interesting when Crystal fully embraces the fact that Gigi has a thing for her brain. Once in a while, when they’re bored of just moaning and groaning and panting their way through having sex, Crystal would look at Gigi – hair fanned out on the pillow, red in the face, chest heaving and sweaty – and lean closer to her ear and indulge Gigi in her ridiculous idea of dirty talk. She’d count the number of ATPs produced in the citric acid cycle, explain to her the mechanisms of action of cephalosporins, run down the cardinal movements of labor, practice on her techniques for a thorough physical examination.
When she passes major exams. When she aces her boards. When she graduates medical school with high honors. When she gets accepted to the surgical residency program of her dreams. Gigi is there – willing and ready and able to reward her, generously, for a job well done. Going as far as buying a new strap, saved and used only for occasions like these.
Crystal is in the middle of her orthopedic surgery residency training and there’s barely any time left for alone time. So Gigi takes what she can get. Even if it’s just a night out for drinks at the bar a couple of blocks away from the hospital with Crystal’s other doctor friends.
She listens to Crystal and her friends (Jackie, a urology resident, and Widow, an anesthesiology resident) exchange stories from their day in the operating room. Gigi is perfectly fine absorbing the excited energy they all seem to have; perfectly fine holding Crystal’s hand under the table; perfectly fine being close. She doesn’t mind that they go into graphic detail; doesn’t mind that they use medical jargon; doesn’t mind that they seem to have forgotten that they have a non-medical person in the group; doesn’t mind that all she is there is present.
When Jackie and Widow get up to get the next round of drinks, Gigi slips a hand up and in between Crystal’s thighs. Crystal catches her wrist before she can go further. “What are you doing?”
“I’m just playing,” she shrugs.
“I know. I meant, why?”
Gigi shrugs again. “You know shoptalk gets to me.”
Crystal knows but she still raises a brow at her. “That wasn’t too graphic for you?”
Instead of answering, Gigi takes Crystal’s hand and positions it underneath her skirt, letting Crystal trail her fingers upward, toward the seam of her underwear. Crystal’s fingers brush over a particularly damp spot. “Already?” Gigi nods like it’s nothing out of the ordinary. And Crystal thinks it really isn’t, at least for Gigi.
“I bet you are too.” And Gigi’s right; she’s always right.
Crystal looks up to see her friends walking back to the table so she signals that they’re going to the toilet. Jackie nods at her so she pulls Gigi up onto her feet and towards the back. It’s a one-person toilet and Crystal wants to thank all the gods looking down at her that it’s empty.
The door is barely locked when Gigi pushes Crystal against the wall and connects their lips and bodies together in a movement that’s demanding and hungry and contagious – hands tangling in hair, lips and tongues desperate to connect with the other, bodies arching and pressing.
“Listening to a story about me pounding at metal and bones got you this hot?” Crystal asks when she pulls away for a breath.
“I want you to pound me instead,” Gigi says, latching her lips onto Crystal’s neck and worming her hand into Crystal’s pants. Crystal moans and drops her head onto Gigi’s shoulder when she feels Gigi slip a finger into her. “But you can do that later.”
Gigi’s thankful Crystal isn’t wearing jeans; her slacks are loose enough for her hand to move freely. She slips another finger in and angles her hand so Crystal can grind against the heel of her palm while she pumps in. And out.
And in.
And out.
Faster.
And harder.
She nips at Crystal’s earlobe. “I expect a good pounding at home.”
“I’ll keep that in mind,” Crystal pants, head now resting against the wall, eyes now glazed over, breath now ragged, hips now following the pace that Gigi has set – slow enough that it builds, fast enough that it’s not frustrating.
Gigi concentrates on pumping and rubbing and kissing and licking and biting and making Crystal hum and moan and whimper. She feels Crystal’s body tense against her, feels Crystal getting wetter, feels her fingers slipping easier. Her muscles are strained but she speeds up the movement of her hand and Crystal speeds up the movement of her hips against Gigi’s palm.
“That’s it,” Gigi encourages as Crystal squeezes her closer and tighter, gasping and shaking as she comes. Gigi keeps a slower, gentler pace, shifting so she can rub her thumb against Crystal’s clit to drag out her orgasm.
She pulls Crystal in for a languid kiss as she waits for Crystal to stop trembling. When she does – it takes a little longer than a moment – Gigi pulls her hand out of Crystal’s pants and holds it up. Her hand is glistening in the low light, covered in Crystal’s slick. Crystal looks up in time to see Gigi lick her fingers, sucking them into her mouth with a sound so needy, Crystal is sure she needs to take care of it. Right now.
“Home time?” Gigi suggests as she straightens up Crystal’s pants.
Crystal manages to shake the clouds away. “There’ll be more later but I think I can get one out of you now,” she says, turning Gigi towards the sink and bending her over with a hand between her shoulder blades. Crystal leans over her to keep her bent, makes sure she’s braced herself on the sink, and slides a hand down the length of Gigi’s back to the curve of her ass, slowly lifting her skirt to expose her now soaking panties. “Missed you this week,” she says, dropping a kiss on Gigi’s jaw while she lets her fingers slip underneath the wet fabric.
Gigi wants to say she missed her too; wants to say she’s happy to have her at home for the next two days; wants to say they should just leave their friends so they can continue this at home. But Crystal is already on her knees behind her, not caring if the floor is dirty; already moving her underwear aside – one Gigi isn’t sure why she even wore in the first place; already burying her face into the heat between Gigi’s legs.
She puts both hands on Gigi’s ass to grope and fondle and squeeze and spread while she licks and nips and sucks at her folds. She feels Gigi squirm; arching and pressing back into her mouth, encouraging her to do a little more. A lot more. All of this is exciting and overwhelming and extremely naughty – a far cry from the white coat wearing, scalpel yielding, professional front Crystal puts on just two blocks away.
Crystal keeps her mouth on her clit as she presses two fingers into Gigi and lets her control the pace, lets her rock back and forth to chase her own pleasure. She feels Gigi contract around her fingers and she thinks it’s time to change things up.
Yes, Crystal thinks to herself, the bathroom of a bar you’re a regular at is the best place to change things up.
She licks long and hard from her clit to her hole, around her fingers, up her perineum, and over her asshole – something she thinks Gigi doesn’t know that she knows Gigi secretly likes. Crystal feels her freeze for a split second before reaching behind her to grab Crystal’s head to keep her in place.
“Fuck, Crystal,” she pants.
Gigi’s rhythmic movement is now jerkier and erratic and Crystal knows she’s close. Very close. Crystal continues to lick and pump and rub while Gigi continues to moan and rock and chase. She hangs her head between her arms and whines and pants and shakes as she comes.
Crystal gets up and leans over Gigi’s body, fingers still pumping inside – prolonging and intensifying. She’s wrapping her free arm around Gigi’s torso, nuzzling her nose into her hair to kiss the back of her neck when she feels her mewl and tremble and shudder into another one – unexpected but highly welcome.
“Love you,” she whispers into her ear.
Gigi turns her head to Crystal – her eyes are glassy, her forehead is sweaty, her cheeks are flushed. “Love you too,” she whispers back before catching her lips for a kiss.
They take their time straightening up; not worried about a line possibly forming outside, not worried that they’ve been gone from their friends for too long.
When they make their way back to the table, she sees Widow look at them with a knowing smirk. And Crystal can’t find it in herself to make up an excuse – there’s no excuse for being gone that long and they’re all adults here anyway. So they gather their things, say their goodbyes and see you laters, and rush home to give Gigi what she promised.
When Crystal graduates from residency, of course, she bags the outstanding resident award and the best scientific paper. All on top of being chief resident in her final year. Because of course, Crystal doesn’t do anything half-assed. Gigi decides, when they’re both stripped off their gowns and heels from Crystal’s hospital graduation dinner, that it’s an important enough occasion to use their special toy – there’s really nothing special or different about that strap; Gigi just uses it particularly on days when she wants to celebrate Crystal. It’s Gigi’s turn to prove that nothing in this house is done half-assed.
Gigi gives Crystal one final lick before trailing up her torso with wet open-mouthed kisses, lingering momentarily on her breasts, taking a nipple in her mouth – licking and biting and sucking. She drops herself onto Crystal’s side, hooking her legs over Crystal’s, and kisses her way up her neck, across her jaw, skipping her lips, and bumps their noses together, “Congratulations, baby.”
Crystal reaches up to cup her cheek and pulls her in for a kiss, tasting herself on Gigi’s lips. “You know I couldn’t have done all of this without you, right?”
“Nope, all you,” she says, nuzzling her cheek against Crystal’s palm before taking Crystal’s hand in hers and kissing the rings on Crystal’s finger – the rings she only usually wears around her neck when she’s at work are now on her left ring finger, where they’re supposed to be. “This is all you. I was just there. I’m just here.”
Gigi gets up to step into the leather harness – fastening the straps and adjusting the cock, all while watching Crystal rub at her clit, flicking back and forth lazily. There’s a satisfied smile on Crystal’s face that Gigi wants to keep there forever. She leans over Crystal, peppering her face with kisses, whispering how immensely proud she is of her, how she loves her dearly, how lucky she is to have her. She braces her arms on the bed, resting the length of the cock against Crystal’s wetness, just content with being skin to skin.
“What’s taking so long?” Crystal whines, breaking the little tender bubble Gigi created.
Gigi chuckles at Crystal’s impatience and decides, yes, okay, tonight is about her. She sits back on her heels and realigns her cock, settling the tip at Crystal’s entrance. With steady pressure, she presses inside; one hand guiding the dildo, the other stroking gently over Crystal’s clit. She stretches over Crystal, letting her weight rest on her when she’s buried deep inside. She pulls back a little and gently slides back in, hooking Crystal’s leg over her hip as she goes. Gigi keeps a slow rhythmic pace, hoping to stretch this out the whole evening.
Sure, the slow thrusts are good. Satisfying, even. But Crystal knows she could take more. And she knows Gigi could give more.
So.
Much.
More.
“This feels lovely and all but I need you to fuck me.”
Gigi thinks for a beat and reminds herself again that what Crystal wants, Crystal gets. At least tonight.
And Crystal will get all her favorite things.
“Up,” she instructs as she pulls out.
“What?” Crystal is confused at the sudden emptiness.
She pulls Crystal up from the bed and pushes her on her knees on the floor. Understanding dawns on Crystal’s face as Gigi steps forward, gripping the base of the cock – still wet with Crystal’s slick, guiding it towards Crystal’s mouth.
“I want to see you take it all.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Crystal murmurs, her eyes locked onto Gigi’s as she takes the dildo inside her mouth, slowly working her tongue along its length. Gigi groans at the sight of Crystal taking a silicone cock all the way to the back of her throat without gagging. She remembers asking Crystal why she likes doing that. All she got was a vague answer about liking the force. Whatever that means.
Crystal makes a show of licking and sucking and deep-throating. The way the harness rubs against her is not enough to tip her over the edge but it’s there and looking at Crystal taking it all oddly makes Gigi feel like this appendage is hers.
Gigi groans a she watches Cyrstal swallow the full length of her cock. “God, baby. That’s so fucking hot.” Crystal responds by making sure she’s tugging at the base harder so whatever part of it that’s brushing against Gigi is hitting her right. She grits her teeth and buries her hands into Crystal’s hair as Crystal slips a thumb beneath the harness to press on Gigi’s swollen clit.
“You’re going to make me come,” Gigi breathes out.
And she does.
Her body really doesn’t give her a choice.
When Crystal presses particularly hard on her clit, her thighs tremble and she thrusts forward and tightens her grip on Crystal’s hair.
And Crystal is quick to grab onto Gigi’s ass, clutching and pulling, keeping her there – nose pressed against Gigi’s pubic bone – as she rides it out.
Gigi pulls back quickly, aware that she’s cutting off Crystal’s air supply. She looks down to see Crystal reluctantly let go of her cock with an exaggerated slurp, looking up at Gigi with needy eyes and pouty lips, blinking away involuntary tears.
She helps Crystal to her feet and kisses her senseless, not minding that saliva has dribbled down Crystal’s chin.  Crystal grips Gigi’s side for balance as Gigi walks her backward against a wall.
Crystal is startled out of her daze when Gigi grips her waist and turns her around, effectively disconnecting their lips and pushing her flat against the wall. She looks over her shoulder to see Gigi squat, suddenly she’s very aware of the very aroused state of her pussy.
“Always so wet for me,” Gigi says, running a finger over Crystal’s lips. Crystal bites on her lower lip as she resists the urge to quote WAP lyrics and for good reason – Gigi hates that song. She, on the other hand, secretly loves it – the OR nurses may or may not have caught her attempting to do the dance in the dressing room.
Gigi spreads her lips apart, a moan stuck in her throat when a string of clear juice dribbles down her finger and onto the floor.
“Crystal, you fucking just dripped on the floor. Jesus fucking – “
Crystal shakes her ass in Gigi’s face. “Please, fuck me. Please.”
And Gigi gives her what she wants. Gigi gets up and slides the full length of her cock easily inside Crystal in one quick fluid motion. She’s rewarded with a deep moan and expletives begging for more.
Crystal’s pussy clamps down on the dildo when Gigi moves to give her a short quick thrust. “Yes, more, like that.” She isn’t sure where this savage need to fuck Crystal like this is coming from but she decides to embrace it. So she grips Crystal’s hips tighter and slams hard repeatedly, making them both grunt. She would have been worried that she’s being too rough if Crystal hadn’t instantly pushed back against her with a very enthusiastic, “Fuck, yes!”
It’s a pace they’re both surprised they both can keep up with. And they’re both determined to keep going. The jumbled words and incomprehensible sounds coming from Crystal’s mouth spurs Gigi on – orgasm after orgasm stealing her words from her.
Gigi is getting frustrated trying to chase an orgasm of her own. With a yelp from Crystal, she pulls completely away and flips Crystal around so her back is against the wall. She hikes a leg up, hooking it over Gigi’s hip. Crystal reaches between them to guide the cock back into her pussy and encourages Gigi to keep on pounding into her. She coos in Gigi’s ear, her hands groping Gigi’s breasts, her lips busy kissing Gigi’s face and neck. Soon, their sounds turn into whimpers and pants and sharp moans as they both race towards another orgasm.
Gigi gropes Crystal’s ass hard and leans to bury her face in Crystal’s neck as a strangled moan works its way from her throat. She thrusts one last hard thrust up into Crystal before she comes. Hard. Leaving them both trembling against the wall.
Gigi shifts to help Crystal regain solid footing, letting the cock slip wetly out of her, scattering kisses over her neck and shoulders.
“God damn,” Crystal breathes out.
“That was intense,” Gigi muses, holding on to Crystal tightly, still leaning themselves against the wall.
Crystal with her vision still cloudy and marked by black spots, pushes herself upright and pushes Gigi back into bed, and crawls over her. “No more for me,” she says trailing a series of wet kisses down Gigi’s body. “Your turn now.”
Crystal takes her time – So. Much. Time. – to let Gigi know how she’s wrong. How she wasn’t just there. How she isn’t just here. How the past almost ten years with school and training was because of her, for her, and with her.

a/n: I absolutely love writing these comedy/crack style plots, they’re so fun!  They just fit so well with Bakugou’s character, what can I say?
Starting next post, I’ll finally be posting some spicy content ;)  Not nsfw exactly, but I’d give it a PG-13 rating if I had to.
Anyway, its 3 am and I’m about to pass out.  Enjoy~!
"You smell like...cherries?"  Bakugou takes a deeper whiff of the crook of my neck.  "No, wait... Vanilla?"
I bite my lip, trying not to chuckle too hard and disturb his adorable sleuthing.
"I got it," he moves up to stare me right in the eyes for my answer.  "Coconut."  When I nod, he smirks victoriously.  "I knew it."  He peppers my face and neck in soft kisses, his grip on my waist tightening.  "Admit it, your boyfriend is amazing."
I tilt my head and scrunch my eyes.  "You're...okay."
His grip turns into erratic twitches as he tickles me.  "Just okay, huh?"
My breath is stolen by laughter.  "Okay!  You're amazing!"  I curse his knowledge of my ticklish spots.
Bakugou ceases his mischievous torture and returns to our original cuddling position: his one arm on top of my waist and the other enveloping my shoulders as I rest on his chest.  We bask in the silence of each other's warmth and breathing, the faint sound of his heartbeat thudding in my ear.
His warm fingers draw patterns against exposed skin near the hem of my shirt.  "We haven't been out on a proper date for a while, we should go this weekend," he proposes out of the blue.
I mull over the idea.  We've both been busy with training, and we both mutually agree that we prefer spending more intimate time with each other like this than being out on a formal date.  "What brought this up?" I ask, genuinely curious.
"It's just a random thing, no big deal," he snorts, trying to pass it off casually, but I know him well enough to know better.
"You saw Todoroki taking Midoriya out, didn't you?"
I hear the clinking of his teeth as he clenches his jaw, taking that as a positive response.
I sigh, loosing draping my arm onto his chest.  "Katsuki-"
"I just wanna make you feel special, okay?" he blurts out, terse but affectionate in his own way.  "I don't want you to think I don't care about you or that you're missing out on things other couples do.  I'm your man, you deserve more."
My fingers softly trail up his arm.  In other words, he feels like he's not doing enough in our relationship.  I peck his lips.  "Okay, let's do it.  But let's not go somewhere too fancy.  I don't feel like dressing up and all that.  Besides, you're too...excited for those quiet places."
His eyebrows furrow.  "Whaddaya mean by that?"
I want to chuckle at his defiance.  "You get very easily riled up.  Sometimes, you just need to tone it down a notch."
Though he pouts, he mutters, "I'll be on my best behavior, promise."
.
The weekend finally rolls around.  The Sun shines brightly, there isn't a cloud in the sky, the temperature is brisk, nothing could possibly go wrong.
Bakugou agreed to meet at noon so we could go out for lunch at this cute outdoor restaurant downtown.  I dress in a somewhat-fancy-somewhat-casual grey sweater, black leather pants, and Chelsea boots.  While I'm deciding on what accessories to style with my outfit, there's a  knock at my door.  I glance at the clock, only then realizing it's 12:30, and rush to the door.
Bakugou stands in the doorway, looking like an absolute snack.  For some reason, he's dressed in a crisp white button down, fitted black slacks down above his ankles held up by black suspenders, and brown dress shoes.  Slack jawed, I barely have a second to comment on how amazing he looks before he storms into my room and I catch a whiff of his cologne, wanting to shower him with compliments.
"Katsuki-"
"I woke up late, I'm sorry," he growls, throwing a black strip of fabric around his neck and making a beeline for my full length mirror.  He's trying to knot a tie around his neck, I realize.  "My alarm didn't go off for some stupid reason, and I wanted to wake up early to get you flowers before coming here.  This date's already ruined and I'm not even ready- AND THIS STUPID TIE JUST WON'T TIE PROPERLY!"  Clearly, he's already worked up and his tie won't cooperate with him.
At first, it's cute watching him struggle, but I realize he's genuinely bothered by this entire situation.  I wrap my arms around his torso from behind.  "Babe, it's fine.  We're not in a hurry, just take your time." I assure him softly.  "I was just finishing up myself."
At the sound of my voice, my boyfriend releases his tension in a sigh.  "You're right.  I promised I'll be calmer today."  He finally finishes tying his tie and smooths it over.
I smile and kiss his cheek to comfort him.  "You look so handsome."
A light blush colors Bakugou's cheeks as he runs his hands through his hair.  "I did it for you, dummy," he admits in the softest voice.
We stare at each other in the mirror fondly for a moment, and I ruffle his hair.  "Let's go, whenever you're ready."
As we're getting ready to leave the dorms, Kaminari and Mineta are playing some sort of weird game in the hallway with Mineta's purple spheres where Kaminari tries to hit them with his lightning.
One of them flies past Bakugou's head, just missing it, and he almost goes off.  "I swear if one of those things hits me in the face, you idiots are-!"  Cutting himself off at the end, he takes a deep breath.  "I'm calm, I'm calm.  Let's just get out of here."
It's cute watching him struggle to stay calm for my sake.
And it doesn't get any easier.  Somewhere during the walk over to the restaurant, the sprinkler system turns on in someone's lawn and managed to almost spritz Bakugou's crisp outfit.  He says nothing and holds in his complaints, like a true trooper.  The next thing to go wrong is the train getting delayed.  Such a small nuisance is too much for the boy, as evidenced by the wild tapping of his foot on the floor to the point where some of the other passengers stare at him.
"If I could use my quirk, I would've just blasted us out of here to the restaurant," he mutters in my ear.
I squeeze his hand in mine.  "You're doing a great job, babe."
The smile that appears on his face is absolute bliss.
After the train finally moves and we reach our stop, we make our way through the city hand in hand, talking only to each other.
"You've out-dressed me, Katsuki.  Where did these clothes even come from?"
"My mom always told me a formal outfit is a staple," the boy shrugs in response.  "I just didn't want to wear the jacket because it's still daytime."
In the back of my head, I realize that Bakugou seems to have an unconscious eye for dressing presentable, he just chooses to wear joggers and a T-shirt all the time.
"I just figured we were going to a nice place and I wanted to look good, you know?" he continues.  "Even though everything's kinda gone to hell so far today."
My heart melts for how hard he's trying, and I decide to hug his arm for comfort.  "You're doing amazing.  I'm having fun just being with you so far."
In return, he kisses my forehead.  "The date's not over yet, we still need to eat."  He takes out his phone.  "I just need to make sure we're going-"
We collide into someone who's not watching where they're going, and, unfortunately, Bakugou's phone gets knocked out of his hand.  Almost in slow motion, we watch as the poor device crashes against the concrete face down.  I can feel his grip on my hand tighten as he growls and picks up the phone, hoping for the best, only to realize there are now spidery cracks across the surface.
I hold my breath for the inevitable outburst, which doesn't come.  A vein pops in Bakugou's neck and a muscle jumps in his jaw, but no sound escapes his lips except an extended, harsh exhale.  "Can I check it on your phone, babe?" he asks through clenched teeth, and I offer to be navigator myself out of pity.
When we finally get to the restaurant, we sit down and have our meal in peace.  The blond seems to relax as food slowly fills his belly and we carry light conversation with each other.
"You finished all the rolls already?!" I guffaw, covering my face to keep myself from being too loud, "Were you that hungry?"
"I told you I got up late!" he growls, ripping off a piece from the last roll, "I haven't eaten yet all day."
I take his hand from across the table.  "And you deserve it, with the day you've had so far."
Smooth as a criminal, he kisses my fingers gently, "At least you're here.  But you shouldn't give me your hand so easily, I might bite you because of how hungry I am."  He jokingly starts play biting my hand, making me laugh again.  And just for a moment, our eyes catch each other's, sharing our affections wordlessly.
Until something - or someone - crashes into our table.
Both of us get to our feet instinctively and inspect the damage.  The person who had crashed our table is a male waiter we recognized moving around since we've been here.
"That man is a villain!  He's trying to rob the place!" one of the staff announces from across the room.
The man slowly tries standing on his feet, catching onto the closest thing to help himself.  Which happened to be Bakugou's pant leg.  Looking up, the sorry villain realizes he's just sealed his fate.
Bakugou's face is crimson with impatient rage, bottled up from the entire day and ready to explode onto the nearest victim.
"What. The actual. Fuck?" he murmurs from deep in his throat down at the villain, who's eyes are widening as he registers he might actually be facing a devil.  The boy's breathing gets ragged.  "You have exactly," he pulls and undoes the knot around his neck in one swift movement, not breaking his malicious glare on the villain, "Two seconds," he throws the tie aside and slides his suspenders off his shoulders, "Before I blast you into oblivion," the top buttons of his shirt are undone.
"I-I'm so sorry I interrupted your date," the villain's eyes widen as he slides backwards into the broken table.  "Y-You two must've been having a good time-"
"Damn RIGHT we were!" Bakugou bellows, sleeved already folded and he's pushing them up past his elbows away from his hands.  "Now you're gonna DIE!"
As hot as it was watching my angry boyfriend slightly undress, I don't want him getting in trouble doing something illegal.  I grasp his taut elbow, avoiding his forearm. "Katsuki, just leave this for the pros to deal with, don't get yourself in trouble."
He slowly calms his breathing, but still eyes the man with a murderous glint as we back away from the situation.
.
We silently eat our sandwiches on a park bench.  Bakugou's gnawing and mashing his food to get his anger out, his tie hanging out of his pocket since he couldn't be bothered to re-tie it around his neck, or readjust his outfit.
I quietly admire his rugged appearance and let out a small chuckle.
He shoots me a look.  "What're you laughing at?"
"I'm just thinking how much better you look when you're all undone like this," I remark, finishing the last of my own sandwich, "You looked too uptight before, this is way more casual."
My comment is met with a smirk and a huff as he uses one arm to pull me so close to him, I might as well be on his lap.  "Is that your way of saying I look hot all angry like this?"
"Maybe."  With that, I steal the last bite from his sandwich.
Bakugou sets the wrapper aside and hugs my waist with both hands, setting me properly in front of him so I can look him straight on.  "I'm sorry I lost my cool like that.  I promised I'd stay calm for you today, but nothing even went right all day and then that mess happened."
His ashamed expression makes me plant a quick kiss on his lips, allowing a light blush to appear in its place.  "You're amazing, Katsuki.  You've had such crappy luck all day and you managed to hold in your anger for most of it.  But, while I appreciate the effort, you really didn't have to."  I wrap my arms around his neck affectionately.  "I love you and all your hotheaded screaming, you dope, no fancy dates or rules needed.  Don't feel like you need to do more for me when I just need you."
A heart-melting smile spreads across Bakugou's face as he rests our foreheads together.  "I don't deserve you, babe, you're the best I could ever ask for."  Our lips join together in a sweet kiss for a moment.
I break it with a chuckle.  "Honestly though, I really would've liked to see you smash that guy's face in."
"Me too!"

A Small Gift
A.N. Hello! I, once again, cannot figure out the read more option, so I apologize for that. Hope you like it!
submitted by @kraken45
(xplrvibes note: omg, this is amazing!  I love this so so much and it just really put a smile on my face and actually made me feel so much better!  it really hit the spot!  the characterization of both boys and their relationship, and Jake’s relationships with them as well, was so perfect! (special shout out for throwing cryptocurrency in there lol)  anyway, everyone read this and give @kraken45 all the kudos! thank you so so so much and ily you for this!)
Colby had just had a really fucking bad day. A bad week, honestly. He couldn’t really pinpoint why. Couldn’t pinpoint when the bad started and when he’d gotten so grumpy. It seemed to kind of melt into his natural state of being this week. And here he is. He’s been sitting in bed for the past three hours, desperately trying to work up the motivation to do anything. He already felt like a failure. He’d slept through his own merch drop, which he had been really excited for. The merch was sick and it was a drop he was really proud of, but he could not get himself to care. He was scaring himself. Why was his mind doing this to him? He was on track to have the best year of his life. Why did he feel like absolute shit for literally no reason?
He wasn’t the only one to notice either. Jake had promptly told him to “fuck off until he got his head out of his ass” when he’d snapped yesterday. To be fair, he had deserved it. He was being short with the people who didn’t do anything wrong other than exist in the same space as him. That’s why he was holing up at the moment. He didn’t want to snap again. The last thing he wanted was to bother people and bring them down with him. His friends were too good for that. He, however, probably deserved this. He was sure he had done something wrong at some point in time and this was karma coming back to bite him in the ass. Honestly, it very well could have been karma from the killing best friend prank video again. While he and Sam had agreed on it, he had no idea how badly Sam would be affected. He had felt horrible ever since.
Stop it. He thought to himself. I cannot go down this again.
Whenever he was alone, he had a tendency to fall into a pit of self-deprecation that took days to climb out of. He would sit and stew and go over the things he’d done wrong in his life and just beat the proverbial shit out of himself until something shook him out of it. That something was usually Sam, but he was away with Kat this weekend. Which, good. Sam and Kat needed an awesome weekend away. There should be nothing stopping them. Colby refused to allow himself to be that thing. Ever, for anyone. Colby needed to learn to be able to pick himself up. He was in his mid-20’s. He should be better than this. Sam wasn’t his mom, and damn it, his mom shouldn’t even be responsible for this. He should be able to be an adult without someone forcing him to be. He felt useless. He felt dependent. He felt alone. How does one feel dependent and alone at the same time? Don’t ask Colby. That’s a fact he can’t figure out either, but it’s how he feels.
Wringing his fingers together in a nervous tick, he decides to text Jake and apologize for snapping. He really didn’t mean to hurt anyone. It just seemed like he managed to, no matter the circumstance. No wonder he went up in his room all the time. He knew most of the people in his life just tolerated him. They weren’t affected in the slightest whenever he would leave, and he knew that. That’s why he always did. He needed to be alone and no one wanted to be around him, so he left.
Colby sighs loudly and sinks farther down into his sheets. He closed his eyes and willed himself to find motivation. He’d already let Sam and the label down once today, he needed to not do it again. He willed his legs to move. They didn’t. He willed any feeling that wasn’t this drowning sensation. He pressed his hands against his eyes, hoping the metal chill of his rings would make him feel. It didn’t. All it did was frustrate him. He wanted to cry, but he knew he wouldn’t. Tears never came when he needed them to. He just laid there, stuck in the never-ending spiral of attempting to force a feeling until he got angry he wasn’t feeling it until a series of dings rang through on his phone.
He sighed again. Just as he’d expected, his manager was ripping into him for not being on time for his merch drop. She said the expected, but then dropped a bombshell at the end and called him unreliable. That stung. He’d always prided himself on being the one to always come through for people. His friends could count on him to hype them up and support them, through thick and thin. He was a rock. He was reliable. Apparently not. He typed out an apology, though he was having a hard time getting his hands to cooperate with his brain. He wanted to tell her he knew. She should just represent Sam and convince him to go solo. He knew he was holding him back. Life would be so much better, for everyone, if he could either get his shit together or get out of the way. His hands trembled as he typed and deleted and retyped and finally just settled on “I’m sorry.”
She wasn’t going to like that, he was well aware, but there was nothing else he could do. She wasn’t there to listen to his sob story of how he couldn’t get his brain to understand how fucking priviledged he was. She was there to help him sell merch and he was supposed to announce it. He didn’t do it. Well, technically, he did do it, but not the right way. None of the fans cared. He’d been promoting all week and they knew the second Sam dropped something, he would too. But that didn’t make him feel any better. It was just another example of how he relied on Sam to carry him through. Maybe he was unreliable, but Sam made him think he was.
He really was lucky. Sam was everything he wasn’t, and better at the things he was. Sam was smart, Colby was not. Sam was quick-witted, Colby was not. Sam could maintain a healthy relationship, Colby could not. Any amount of kindness or comedic ability or anything like that Colby had, Sam had it too. Colby could not understand why Sam wanted him around some days. He knew Sam wouldn’t be where he was without Colby, but now that he was here, Colby wondered how much more Sam could do on his own. He wouldn’t have to drag Colby around all of the time and hold him accountable.
Any other day, Colby would know all of these thoughts were absolute bullshit. He and Sam were friends and that’s what made their content connect with people. Their bond was evident and was in no way one-sided, Sam had told him that plenty of times. There were ample videos on Sam’s personal channel that stated this as fact. Logically, Colby knew that. That didn’t stop these intrusive thoughts from pushing him farther into his sheets.
He felt like he was at war with his own head and he could only play defense. Any sound or word said to him was a hit for the offense and there was nothing he could do about it. Which is why that would be the exact moment two separate texts would ping across his phone screen at the same time. One was from Jake and the other from Sam. Great. Two people he absolutely did not want to interact with right now. He could not handle one more passive-aggressive message that was likely in Jake’s text or expression of disappointment that was likely in Sam’s because the damn offense didn’t need any more ammunition. He gave them enough as it was, so he did the only logical thing and tossed his phone to the other side of his bed and put his pillow over his head.
Exhaustion rammed into him like a train. He felt stupid, once again, as he had done literally nothing all day. There was no reason to be tired. But, fighting crusade against one’s own amygdala can take it out of someone, so he decided to cut himself some slack and go back to sleep.
About two hours had passed, which Colby had spent in a restless, anxiety-ridden half-sleep where any slight change in temperature would force him to either curl up or chuck the sheets in a haphazard fashion. He had just reentered his lucid state when a blaring ring brought him fully back into reality. He audibly groaned into his pillow and reached for the phone. His ecstasy in receiving yet another phone call about his missed drop from management was understandably low at best, but he looked at his phone and was surprised to see Sam’s name and picture displayed instead, indicating he wanted to FaceTime. Colby weighed his options. He, in no way, wanted to see Sam right now. Or rather, he didn’t want Sam to see him. Sam knew his habits and these days spent in the anxiety cavern weren’t new, so he would know something was up. On the other hand, if Colby didn’t answer, he would know Colby was either hiding something or sleeping…
Colby hoped he would think he was sleeping as he let the call time out. He felt bad for ignoring Sam, but he’d rather ignore him than worry him while he was out with his girlfriend for some much deserved alone time. Colby wondered what he wanted.
Well, dumbass, if you would have answered you would know. His inner voices were bullying him again. Colby just shook his head and shoved it back between his pillows. He sat there for about ten minutes or so, pressing the fabric into his head, willing himself to go back to sleep so he didn’t have to deal with this reality until that obnoxious ringing shrieked out again.
“What the fuck?” Colby asked out loud, refusing to look at the phone’s image and declining. He was in even worse shape than a few minutes ago, somehow, and he was not in the mood to talk to anyone. Sam never called twice, so Colby wasn’t concerned it was him and anyone else was not on his priority list at the moment. He went one step further and turned the phone off. Any conversation anyone was going to have with him right now would be unproductive, so he refused to have any. Colby decided sleeping obviously wasn’t working, so he sat up to make a move for the shower.
He stretched his stiff limbs and slowly rose, his back cracking with every inch higher he stood. Damn, he felt old. He slowly made his way to his dresser and decided old XPLR joggers and a hoodie was good enough. It took an unprecedented amount of time to get those things out of the drawer. Colby felt like he was wading through molasses and any form of movement was met with some invisible resistance that he couldn’t seem to break. In no world should someone as healthy as him get winded from picking out clothes, but that’s what happened.
Fuck, I need to go outside. He thought to himself. This room could not be helping his mental state, so a walk was the only form of action he could think to take.
After my shower. He thought again. His actions were interrupted by a small sound on the other side of his room. His head whipped around far too quickly for someone who had no water in their system, and as his eyes refocused and reoriented, he wondered if he’d even actually heard the sound at all. It was so small and tentative he thought he’d made it up. He didn’t hear anything for a solid ten seconds, so he made his way into his bathroom to gather the things he needed to shower. He closed his bathroom door slightly behind him and started looking for his shampoo. His other bottle had just run out, so his head was under the sink when he swore he heard another sound out in his main room. He stopped moving again, listening. There was silence again. Colby swore he was going crazy. He then heard what he recognized as knocking become more frantic as Jake called his name and tried to open his door. He must’ve forgotten to lock it because two seconds later, Jake was bounding into the room at the same time Colby was reentering and they nearly collided.
“What the fuck, Colby? Are you okay?’ Jake asked, concerned, grabbing Colby’s shoulders and shifting him around to get a good look at Colby’s face.
“Yeah…? Why wouldn’t I be?” Colby questioned back, genuinely confused. Jake gave him a hard look.
“Why haven’t you come out at all today? Why have you been ignoring calls and texts and shit? You’ve been acting weird all week.” Jake shook Colby lightly, trying to force him to look him in the face. Colby turned his head to the side instead.
“I know, I’m sorry. I… I don’t really know what’s going on. I’ve felt fucking weird all week, but it’s just been bad the past two days. I felt bad for yelling at you yesterday, so I figured it’d be better if I just stayed away until I figured out what my problem was. I haven’t been able to do that, yet.” Colby chuckled dryly, Jake obviously finding no humor in the words. Jake still didn’t let Colby’s  shoulders go, opting to squeeze them tight instead.
“Brother, you’re all good. We all act up sometimes. I said that in the text you didn’t read,” Colby turned away, embarrassed. Jake shook him again, a sign to look up. Colby did this time.
“Listen, dude, we’ve all got shit days. We just wanted to make sure there was nothing immediately wrong.”
“We?” Colby asked. Jake rolled his eyes, moving his hands to Colby’s upper arms.
“Sam called me panicking for the last five minutes. He noticed you promoted the merch late and then dropped off Earth for several hours and didn’t answer when he called like four times and was declined three times. And when I told him you weren’t answering me either, he thought you’d had a heart attack or some shit. I told him like 12 times you were fine, but you know how fucking momma bear he gets over you.” Colby cringed slightly. In trying to avoid causing Sam stress, he’d accidentally caused him a hell of a lot more. Colby did know about the random protective hair Sam had for him, he just tended to forget about it as Sam was more aloof than Colby was. Colby was very upfront about his emotions and it’s never been hard to know what he’s feeling, but Sam had always been more neutral. He hid his true feelings well from everyone else, but Colby knew his ticks.
For example, Colby knew when Sam’s left hand was on his hip and he was leaning on something with his right, he was pissed, even if his voice was level. He knew that a glance to the left at some dude making eyes at Kat was pure jealousy, even with a smile on his face. He knew that if Sam grazed his hand lightly on Colby’s shoulder after he’d just done something dangerous, it meant to never do that shit again, even if he was laughing. Sam was often subtle in his displays of emotion, but that didn’t make those feelings any less real. Which is why Sam actually making Jake go check on him was more concerning. He must’ve really freaked him out. Colby should have known.
“Damn it. I was trying to do the exact opposite.” Jake tilted his head slightly in acknowledgment, nodding lightly.
“I know, but that shit didn’t work. Call him real quick and tell him your heart’s still pumping. He’ll chill once he knows you’re not dead or actively dying. Then shower because you smell like shit and then play smash with me. I’ve wanted to play all day but you’ve been busy making yourself into soup apparently. Then if you’re lucky, that’s not the only smashing you’ll get tonight.” Jake winked and smacked his ass lightly as he ran out of Colby’s door. Colby cringed and laughed, forever amused by his friend’s ability to make anything sexual.
Colby lifted his arm and sniffed, wondering if it was really that bad. The room instantly spinning was a good enough answer. He made his way into his room and switched his phone on, dreading the texts and calls he’d receive once it came back on. Sure enough, there were 3 unread messages and three missed calls from Sam. He quickly went to the messages and sent Sam a quick explanation of what happened. Well, he basically said he’d been sleepy all day and turned the phone off in an attempt to go back to sleep, which wasn’t untrue, but not the full truth either. He just wanted Sam to forget about him for the weekend and have fun. Sam did not take the bait.
“Alright sure,” Sam’s reply read, “you can say that. Listen, brother, I know you’ve been in a weird funk the past few days. That’s why I got so worried when you didn’t answer. I know nothing was happening, really, but you’ve probably been stuck in your own head all week. I fucking hate when you get stuck there and try and get out alone. You’re a strong person, but you can only see things the way your brain will let you. And lemme tell you, that fucker is lying sometimes. I have no clue what’s going on up there, but lemme say this, you’re fine. People like you. People wanna help you when your days are shit. Don’t isolate yourself. Go downstairs and play smash with Jake, he’s been bitching all day. Also shower, you probably smell like ass.”
Colby cracked a little smile at that. They really did spend too much time together. Another text came in before he could respond.
“Also I swear to God if you try to sit there and say sorry 12000 times I will knock your teeth out through this phone. Just stfu in advance. Threat stands if you ever ignore me again.” Colby laughed out loud this time, as he read over his unsent reply that started with “I’m sorry…” These two really needed to spend more time apart. Or maybe less, if today was any indication of how things would go if they were separated for more than a day.
Colby replied, “Okay, okay, I got you. I apologize for any inconvenience I may have caused. (Not sorry) but I’m gonna shower and kick Jake’s ass. Nothing will clear a funk quicker than that. Thanks a lot, brother. Really not sure where I’d be without you, so love and appreciate you like always. Snc v the world brother. Now ignore me for the next three days and have fun!! Seeya monday bitch!”
“Cut the mushy shit brother, I ain’t a little bitch like you. I will be happily ignoring your existence until then.” Sam replied, but quickly added “i’m just kidding ily2, please fucking text me if you need something for the love of god. Snc v tw” with a gif of a koala sending a virtual hug attached.
Colby hearted the gif and sad reacted to the first message as he chuckled to himself and headed towards the shower. Sam knew just what to say, just like always. After he had showered, Colby went downstairs and played at least thirty more rounds of Smash than he’d intended to, and since he and Jake were him and Jake, the loser ended up doing punishments. That’s how he’d ended up with a spatula-shaped bruise on his asscheek and nearly choked to death on his water as he watched Jake Naruto-run into the Traphouse inflatable dog and fully disappear. He hadn’t felt this light all week. He felt like himself again. Thank god. Who knew all he would need is a video game and a text? The rest of the night went about as one could expect with ½ of the Trap boys getting drunk off of White Claws and wine, so one could just describe it as a night of wonderful TikTok content.
As the weekend progressed, Colby felt his motivation return. He reposted plenty of merch orders, which were not affected by his sleeping in, and got a ton of work done. He was actually neck deep in an article about cryptocurrency when Sam’s Tesla pulled into the driveway. Colby didn’t noticed as he continued to read about this strange new currency, when his door flung open and he jumped ten feet out of his chair.
“Sam, you dick!” He shouted as Sam doubled over, laughing hysterically. “How fucking rude. I haven’t seen you for four days and the first thing you want to do is kill me?” Sam walked over to his desk, still laughing. He wiped a tear from one eye and wrapped his other arm around Colby’s shoulders, bending it and putting Colby into a weak headlock.
“Nah, brother, there are way more interesting ways if I wanted to do that.” Colby snorted, looking up at him in fake offense while trying to pull his arm down.
“I should have known all of those nice words were fake. You just wanted my guard down, you bitch.” Colby joked back as Sam tightened his arm, messing up Colby’s hair with his other hand.
“You finally fucking caught on, good for you.” Sam patronized as Colby tried to slap his hand out of his hair when Sam suddenly stopped and wrapped both his arms around Colby’s shoulders. “Don’t ever shut me out again. I will break down those damn walls with a sledgehammer if I have to. I fucking love you brother, don’t forget that.” Sam punctuated his statement with a tight squeeze of his arms while Colby smiled wide, leaning his head into Sam’s shoulder. Colby knew his friends had him, through good days and bad. He just needed a reminder sometimes.
“I love you too, Sam. Expect the exact same.” Colby stated, looking him in the eyes and patting his arms. Sam nodded and squeezed him one last time before letting go and ruffling Colby’s hair again with both hands, completely annihilating any styling that was left after the first assault. He turned on a heel and ran out his door.
“Sam! You ass!”

This one for Carrillo plz!! This man is It’s does things to me! “Why are you lying to me?” And “I told you not to fall in love with me”
A/N: Hi Anon. I hope you like this! I’m kind of just “meh” about it, but I needed to write *something* and your ask fit with this scenario I had in my brain of Horacio trying to break up with a partner.
There really isn’t an ideal place to do it..., Horacio muses as he maneuvers his car through the narrow streets surrounding your neighborhood. He’d meant to do it at the restaurant...but then he looked at you enjoying your meal, unaware of what was coming... and he just couldn’t put you through that in public.
Of course now that you’re alone the words dry to ash on his tongue.
You sit in the passenger seat, fidgeting and casting your glance over to him every few seconds. Something is off tonight. For one thing Horacio took you out to dinner. How long has it been since he’s carved out the time for an actual date night? It should have made you happy but instead you feel like a boulder is settling in your stomach and your skin crawls with foreboding. Horacio’s been so distant, so formal all evening.
“Everything alright, querida?” you murmur, reaching out to squeeze his knee through the fabric of his sensible, khaki slacks. You love Carrillo’s dad-like fashion sense...it contrasts so interestingly with that unholy body he hides underneath. The lecherous thought brings a smile to your lips but it fades quickly when he shrugs off your question with a non-committal grunt.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
What is it? Is he stressed? Angry? Did something happen at work today? Why go through the motions of taking you out if he is going to act this way?
The car pulls up outside your apartment and you sit for a moment, playing with the hem of your dress and refusing to meet his eyes. He breathes heavily through his nose, something he does when he’s trying to calm his nerves or contain his temper.
The tension in the car is suffocating, but somehow you’re more afraid of what might happen if Horacio releases whatever it is that’s causing it. Before he can get around to whatever he’s working himself up to say, you blurt out, “Are you going to come upstairs with me?”
---
This, at least, feels safe and familiar, you think as Horacio presses the length of his body up against you. Your back hits the door, slamming it shut behind you as he mouths your neck and collar with open, hungry kisses. You may not always have the words to communicate verbally, but your bodies speak the same language.
His hands snake under the hem of your dress, hiking it up to your hips as you wrap your legs around his hips. You grind down on the hard length of his erection, moaning at the delicious feel of him against your aching, tender core.
“Mi amor,” you whisper, your heated breath ghosting over the stubble along his jaw. “...te amo.”
And suddenly his grip on you disappears and you’re landing on shaky legs as Horacio steps back, looking down at you with accusation in his eyes.
“I told you not to fall in love with me,” his voice is harsh and guttural, belying the edge of panic raking up his throat. Why hadn’t he just said something in the car? Why had he let things get this heated knowing what he had to do?
You look up at him, watching as his jaw clenches against whatever emotion he’s trying to suppress. His expression is inscrutable. He’s always doing this. Keeping everything inside, putting on a brave face for you. But you don’t want that brave face. You want him to have just one safe place where he can let go of all his burdens and rest.
“Well...,” you answer, trying for a light tone, “it’s a little late, Horacio.”
What do you expect? For his gaze to soften and for him to finally give voice to the love you feel from him in every kiss and every caress? For him to take you in his arms or get down on one knee?
Whatever you expect it’s not this. His eyes harden and his mouth spreads into a firm line as he responds, “You shouldn’t. You shouldn’t love me. We have to end this.”
It’s more than just his words. It’s the utter lack of emotion in his voice as he says them. You feel like the rug has been pulled out from under you.
His face is a mask, betraying nothing of the roiling anguish underneath. He meets your gaze, refusing to look away even when your eyes glass over with tears at the pain that he’s causing. He deserves this, he thinks. He deserves this for letting things get this far. He should have broken it off with you as soon as he was promoted to lead up the Search Bloc. He knew from the beginning that this war with Escobar would escalate, would become personal. And now the bastard is kidnapping daughters...sons...spouses. He can’t keep putting you at risk.
You cross your arms in front of your chest, hugging your elbows and glaring up at him.
“Why?”
It’s the only response that comes to mind. Why? After everything. After you’ve tended to his wounds, after you’ve held him through nightmares, after you’ve given him all of you--body and spirit. Why does it need to end now?
Horacio finally looks away, not meeting your eyes as the lies fall from his lips, “I’m not interested anymore, okay? It was fun for a while but...it’s not anymore.”
You lip wobbles and your voice comes out hoarse in response, “Why are you lying to me?”
Horacio sighs, turning from you and punching his open palm against the wall as a sob tears from his throat, “Please, don’t make it worse. We’re done. I’m done.”
This is how he’d planned it. It’s better if you hate him, he thinks. You’ll get over it quicker. You’re...beautiful and kind and funny and generous. You’ll find someone who can give you a safe life. Someone without blood on his hands.
A long moment passes. Horacio leans his forehead against the wall and his shoulders heave with his deep breaths.
“Nope,” you finally announce, stepping forward and pushing with all your might against his muscled shoulders until you’ve dislodged him from his self-pitying stance. “I’m not allowing this.”
And then you jump back into his arms, giving him no choice but to catch you as you lock your lips over his in a bruising, angry kiss. He melts against you immediately, his lips parting with a cry of both relief and surrender.
“It’s too much!” he whispers into your lips and you swallow the admission with your kiss. “I can’t let him take you, amor. He’ll try...”
“Let him try, Horacio,” you scoff, tugging his shirt up so you can run your hands over his bare skin. You want to claim him with your touch, punish him for ever thinking he could toss you aside so easily. For what? Protection? “The only way he’ll succeed is if you let him. You don’t get to end things because you get scared, okay?”
He tightens his arms around you and starts lurching in the direction of the bedroom.
“Okay.”

1988 interview with Dean. This is a really good one and helps bring more of his life into perspective. Note: the newspaper originally censored his swearing, but I’ve put it back.
Guthman, Edward. "Dean Stockwell: Third Time's a Charm." The San Francisco Examiner (San Francisco, California), August 14, 1988.
“Six years ago, Dean Stockwell's acting career had turned to dust. Reduced to playing parts in unreleasable, made-in-Mexico movies that now make him cringe, Stockwell decided to chuck it all and get out of Hollywood.
“Along with his second wife, Joy, Stockwell moved to Santa Fe, settled down under the wide New Mexico sky and applied for a real estate license. He even placed an ad in Daily Variety to announce his exile: 'Dean Stockwell will help you with all your real estate needs in the new center of creative energy.'
“Stockwell never sold a house; he didn't need to. Instead, almost as soon as he'd relocated, things started happening to the former 1940s child star. It began with a small part in David Lynch's 'Dune,' and escalated with an important supporting role in Wim Wenders' highly regarded 'Paris, Texas.'
“Moving back to California to cash in on his fortune, Stockwell acted in 'Beverly Hills Cop II,' 'Gardens of Stone,' and 'To Live and Die in L.A.' He also played a cameo role, as Howard Hughes, in the newly released 'Tucker: The Man and His Dream.' And in 'Blue Velvet,' David Lynch's American nightmare, he delivered a chilling cameo as Ben, a waxlike, sexually ambiguous drug dealer.
“And now, at 52, Stockwell says he's found 'the favorite role I've had, by far.'
“The picture is 'Married to the Mob,' a dark, romantic comedy by Jonathan Demme ('Melvin and Howard,' 'Stop Making Sense') and Stockwell plays Mafia don Tony 'the Tiger' Russo. Wearing an Al Capone fedora and full-length vicuna coat, Tony is a rich, sardonic, larger-than-life character -- the kind Stockwell has never had a chance to play until now.
“Opening Friday at the Galaxy and UA the Movies, 'Married to the Mob' has been touted as Demme's first shot at a genuine box-office winner. Set in Long Island, New Jersey and Florida, it stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Angela DeMarco, a young Mafia wife who tries to start a new life when her husband, Frankie 'the Cucumber' DeMarco, is pumped full of lead during a hot-tub tryst at the Fantasia Motel.
“When Stockwell's character isn't ordering hits, drug deals and the dumping of toxic waste, he's lusting assiduously after the gorgeous widow. Meanwhile, bumbling FBI agent Mike Downey (played by Matthew Modine) is jumping through hoops trying to shadow Angela and 'catch Tony with his pants down.' Instead, he falls in love with Angela.
“During a recent luncheon interview, not far from his central California home, Stockwell spoke about the film, about his new happiness as the father of two children and about the bizarre trajectory of his long career. Dressed in a long-sleeved shirt and slacks, wearing a Panama hat and drawing first on a cigaret, later on a cigar, Stockwell emanates prosperity and calm.
“'I don't know why I was unemployed so long,' he says, reflecting on a fallow period that started in the '60s and lasted the better part of two decades. 'The only thing I can figure out in my own mind is that, for some reason or another, I was being made to wait until a certain time in my life when my talent would reach its full maturity and fruition.'
“Ironically, he says, he felt just as equipped 10 years ago to do the work he's doing now -- 'only I couldn't get fucking arrested.'
“Today, Stockwell sees harmony in the fact that his new success coincides with the arrival of two children. His son, Austin, will be 5 in November, and his daughter, Sophia, turns 3 this month. Inordinately proud and protective, he refuses to allow his children to be photographed, and also requests that the town in which he and his family reside not be named. (There were no children from his first marriage, to Millie Perkins, which lasted from 1960 to 1962.)
“'I want to make a lot of money and I want to put it away for my children,' he says. To that end, Stockwell has been snapping up job offers. 'A lot of people ask me, "How have you been able to choose these wonderful things you're doing? Have you been very selective?" And I have to tell them, "I haven't been choosing what I'm doing." Things have been coming and I've been accepting virtually anything that's come.'
“Stockwell's ambition is so great that, for the first time in his life, he actively pursues aspects of his career that he once shunned- interviews, for example.
“'My entire motivation in life is my family,' he says. 'I don't need to get an award. I don't need recognition. I've had that already. What I need is to provide. The best way I can provide is to be successful, and the best way I can be successful is to take advantage of all the things at my disposal to achieve that, one of which certainly is press.'
“Take a look at the young Stockwell, specifically the version that emerges from old magazine and newspaper interviews, and you meet another person altogether.
“Robbed of a normal childhood, Stockwell had made 22 films by the time he was 15 -- including 'The Boy with Green Hair,' 'Kim,' 'Anchors Aweigh,' and the Oscar-winning 'Gentleman's Agreement.' Working nonstop, he had a privileged life that millions of children probably envied, but he loathed it nonetheless.
“The son of show-business parents -- his father, Harry Stockwell, was the voice of the Prince in 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,' and his mother, Betty Veronica, was a former stage dancer -- Stockwell made his professional debut at 7. It all happened by a fluke: when Stockwell accompanied his older brother, Guy, on a Broadway audition, the casting director took a liking to both boys, and cast each one. The play, aptly enough, was called 'Innocent Voyage,' and it led to an MGM contract for curly-haired Dean.
“From the beginning, the pressure on young Stockwell was intense. His parents had divorced when he was 6, and when his father defaulted on child-support payments, Dean reluctantly became the family provider. Over a six-year period, he averaged three to four films per year.
“At home, he says, 'There was a lot of friction... I was getting all the attention, but I hated it. [Guy] couldn't appreciate that, because he wasn't getting the attention. He had all these friends, his peer group, that he took for granted. I had none and I resented him for being able to live that way. I was fucking lonely.'
“When he was 13, chained to a seven-year contract, Stockwell was described by one magazine as 'a young rebel who despises acting and resents every moment it takes from his fleeting boyhood.' Many years later, Stockwell told columnist Hedda Hopper, 'Child actors exist in a sort of limbo between childhood and maturity and belong to neither. Adults take them too seriously and other children are either awed or hostile. A child actor can find friends in neither group.'
“Finally, Stockwell fled Hollywood when he was 16. He cut off his curly locks, started using his real name, Robert Stockwell, and for the next five years roamed the country, working menial jobs and disavowing his true identity. 'People that might have known me from seeing my films knew me as a young child,' he remembers. 'Now I was 17 and I wasn't that recognizable.'
“Around the time of his 21st birthday, Stockwell was pushing papers as mail boy to a Manhattan plumbing firm. 'Of all the jobs that I'd had in those intervening years,' he remembers. 'I think I hated that worse than anything. I came to the realization I had no training at anything. My primary education was very skimpy, very poor, and happened under the worst type of conditions. I was literally at the mercy of the world.'
“Most of Stockwell's childhood earnings were squandered by crooked accountants, he says, and he knew that the tiny sum being held in a trust wouldn't last forever. 'So I thought, "What am I gonna do? Well, let's go back and attack this [acting career] again, and see if I can do it a little more on my terms."'
“What followed for Stockwell was a brief but impressive 'second career.' He starred in the 1959 film 'Compulsion,' based on the Leopold-Loeb case of the '20s, and won a joint acting award with Orson Welles and Bradford Dillman at the Cannes Film Festival. He played the lead in the 1960 film of D. H. Lawrence's 'Sons and Lovers,' and in 1962 scored the plum role of Edmund Tyrone in Sidney Lumet's film version of 'Long Day's Journey Into Night,' holding his own alongside Katharine Hepburn, Ralph Richardson and Jason Robards.
“Stockwell was winning the best parts, but found his attention drifting elsewhere. What was happening, he says, were the first signs of the '60s youth revolution. 'It captured my imagination as much as anybody's. And it represented to me -- I can see this in retrospect -- something in childhood that I had missed: the freedom and loving being alive, without responsibilities and work and having to report to the studio every day, and deal with fans and interviews and shit that I hated when I was a kid.'
“So Stockwell called his agent, said, 'I'm not workin',' and dropped out once again. When he tried to come back three years later, though, 'I found it very difficult, 'cause I'd been out-of-sight, out-of-mind.' What followed was a long period of marginal employment: He found some TV work, took parts in low-budget trash ('The Dunwich Horror') and occasional oddities (Dennis Hopper's 'The Last Movie') and co-directed a film with musician Neil Young ('Human Highway') but often just didn't work at all. At one point, he went 18 months without a job.
“Today, along with his buddy Hopper, Stockwell is enjoying a major career renaissance. And with his starring role in 'Married to the Mob,' he says, he's never felt more confident.
“'I knew before I started the film that this character was going to work in spades,' he says, adding that Demme, as director, deserves credit for taking a risk with such offbeat casting. Instead of picking Peter Falk, Vincent Gardenia or another ethnically identified actor to play the Mafia don, he went with Stockwell (who is actually half-Italian on his mother's side).
“Demme's inspiration occurred on a flight from Los Angeles to New York, when he opened a copy of the Hollywood Reporter. Stockwell had just changed agents, and in order to announce the fact, had taken out a full-page ad. Demme saw the picture, and instantly recognized his Tony.
“Weirdly enough, Stockwell made another film immediately prior to 'Married to the Mob': a Canadian feature called 'Palais Royale,' due for an October release, in which he plays a character almost identical to Tony Russo.
“'It's very curious,' he says. 'For all my years I'd never had a role like this come my way, and here it was twice. The Mafia don in New York, the Mafia don in Toronto, both of them colorful and charming and also threatening. And I just thought, "What am I gonna do? It's the same character." So I decided to do the same character in both those movies.'
“To take the coincidence 'one nauseating step further,' Stockwell says he's also got a part in the recently completed 'Backtrack,' Hopper's next film. This time he plays a corrupt mob lawyer, dropping the Italian accent for a generalized East Coast sound.
“It would be difficult to find a film actor who's busier than Stockwell at this moment. And it would be difficult to find anyone whose job history better illustrates the vicissitudes, serendipities and insecurity of a Hollywood career.
“Looking back on his misfortunes -- at the career that he was forced to accept as a child, and the humiliation he felt when he couldn't maintain it as an adult -- Stockwell says he's not bitter. 'When you reach your maturity, I think it behooves you to accept the fact that it's absolutely futile and fruitless even to speculate on changing anything in your life. All you can do is get embittered. So I accept everything that's happened as part of my life, and try to push it in a positive direction from the moment right now.'”

A Lucas (Yuk-Hei) imagine, it is a bit of a haters to lover’s imagine.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh how you hated working with Yuk-Hei. He was always late for his shift, and he’d always have the audacity to stroll in with that infuriating smirk on his face and that leather biker jacket slung over his broad shoulders, with his stupid docs and stupid perfectly fitted ripped jeans. If that wasn’t reason enough, he half-assed nearly all of his responsibilities, took hour lunch breaks and left early.
If you were honest with yourself you didn’t even know why he worked at the restaurant if he wasn’t going to at least try and do his job. You, the barely surviving dumpster poor student occasionally scraped by with the change you found in your couch.
But today was different, you had a date for the first time in months and you weren’t going to let him stop you from leaving on time. Today, you decided, was the day you weren’t taking any of his half-assing.
The bell on the door dinged announcing his entrance and you walked right into the middle of his path. He towered over you but you stood ready, your head held high and arms crossed. He gave you one of his stupid, swoon inducing grins but this didn’t stop you.
“Oh, good morning Y/N. What did I do to deserve this pleasant greeting?” he tilted his head amused by your attempt at looking intimidating.
“I have a date tonight.” He quirked a brow, his smile turning into a smirk.
“And I need to know this, why exactly?” He shifted taking the motorcycle helmet from under his one arm and holding it next to his side.
“Because it means that for once I’m the one leaving early, you got it ?” You stuck your index finger close to his face threateningly and he lazily looked down at it, his smirk disappearing.
“Yeah, I got it.” He said, taking your small wrist and encircling it with one of his big hands, moving your finger out of his face  as his gaze wandered up and down your figure. “I just hope you don’t plan on  going like this.”
Suddenly angry you ripped your wrist from his grasp. He kept his face straight before simply walking past you to go put his things away and you huffed frustrated.
No, you wouldn’t be going like this, you’d make sure he knew that later.
As soon as the time turned to six you made your way to the bathroom to get changed. You took off your skinny jeans and plain t-shirt, changed into short summery dress, you quickly laced up your platform docs and made your way back to your locker to put the bag with your work clothes away. There you stood looking in the small mirror as you touched up your make up. Finally you pulled your free from the bun on top of your head, the curls softly falling around your face and you smirked pleased. You grabbed the oversized denim jacket and put it on before closing your locker door. While running your fingers through your waves of hair you made your way out and back into the restaurant.
When your eyes met Yuk-Hei’s where he was whipping down a table, you swore you saw him visibly swallow as he straightened himself.
“Y/N?” he half whispered, raising a brow as he quickly regained his composure.
“Yuk-Hei don’t tell me you thought I’d actually go in my work clothes?” You said satisfied with his reaction. “That doesn’t matter, don’t forget you have to help, Kun lock up today.”
You gave him a small tantalising wave before tugging open the door, the bell ringing as you did so, and you strutted out onto the street making your way to your date.
“Did Y/N leave?” Kun, the manager asked as he poked his head out from the kitchen and Yuk-Hei nodded.
“Kun, did she tell you anything about her date?” he inquired, curious about your sudden outfit and personality change.
“No, nothing besides it being her first time going out in months.” Kun said leaning in the doorway of the kitchen. “You know I’d really appreciate it if you started cutting her some slack? I know you’re being forced to work here by your parents but she actually has to earn money.”
Yuk-Hei looked down at the table he was cleaning.
“And I know you enjoy seeing her mad, but your 21 Yuk-Hei, if you like her you should tell her, not tease her like an elementary schooler.”
Yuk-hei looked up ready to argue with his friend but Kun had disappeared back into the kitchen. He obediently helped Kun lock up the small restaurant, while mulling over what he’d said earlier, it wasn’t that he didn’t like you, but it felt strange to say that he liked you, the truth is he hardly even spoke to you, in fact he couldn’t think of an explanation why he made work difficult for you but then again he also couldn’t figure out a reason why he showed up for work if it wasn’t to at least you.
“That’s everything, let’s go grab a drink to celebrate your first time leaving on time.” Kun said and threw his arm across Yuk-Hei’s shoulders and steered him down the street and towards his bike. They walked into the bar it’s red lighting and dark furniture aiding it’s punk theme, the speakers played rock music and Lucas thought he’d finally rid himself from the thoughts of you with the distraction of the busy atmosphere until he spotted you sitting at a table with who he presumed to be your date. Kun followed his gaze and then directed Yuk-Hei to the bar where they found seats. Every now and again Yuk-Hei couldn’t stop himself from looking back at you, he couldn’t help notice that you seemed bored and how you’d half heartedly laugh at whatever the guy was saying. At one point he turned to see what was happening and saw that the table you were previously had been occupied by strangers. He abruptly stood up frowning and pushed his way through the crowded bar and out the door. He whipped his head around looking for you as soon as he stepped outside. He could see you standing uncomfortably pinned between the guy’s body and a tree close to the bus stop.
It was so sudden you stood still frozen. Your less than interesting, yet insistent date, had reminded you why you haven’t been dating for months but for two hours you had waited patiently for it to end. Unfortunately he had other ideas, he had stopped you on your way to the bus stop and in the midst of you thinking of an excuse to get away he had suddenly stumbled away. You turned your head to face the direction of where the punch had come from to look at Yuk-Hei, slack jawed.
He didn’t even give you the chance to object before he grabbed your arm and dragged you  towards the motorcycle you presumed was his. He forcefully put a helmet on your head and shoved you onto the back of the bike. Your arms instinctively wrapped around his waist when he suddenly pulled away from the curb. Your head and your heart felt like it was moving at 100 miles an hour, whether it was because of what just happened or because you were tightly pressed to the back of Yuk-Hei, very aware of his abs under your hands and the thin t-shirt that covered them.
A few blocks later he had stopped outside the restaurant again. You quickly got off the back of the bike slipping the helmet off your head. Yuk-Hei still sat on the bike and watched as you fumbled to get the helmet off.
“What just happened? I mean I could’ve sorted that situation out myself!” You couldn’t seem to calm your heart or stop the words that tumbled out of your mouth. You looked up at Yuk-Hei who sat looking at you with a strange expression, painfully aware of how blood red your cheeks must be. You looked at his one hand to see the knuckles bright red and starting to bruise.
“Look at your hand now, oh my go-” You stumbled over your words again. “Why’d you hit him?” Your voice was unusually high pitched in your state of shock and you forced yourself to try and calm down. You pulled a set of keys from the pocket in your jacket and sighed as you walked to the door of the restaurant unlocking it. You turned on your heel before indicating to Yuk-Hei to come inside. He followed you in wordlessly and into where the lockers were with the first aid kit. You pushed him to sit down on a small bench before venturing into the kitchen to fetch ice. You came back to see him now have taken off his leather jacket and you could see his muscular back through the thin t-shirt flex as he sat fiddling with his hurt knuckles.
“You like what you see?” His deep voice snapped you out of your trance and you went to sit down across from him. You gently took his big hand that dwarfed your own as you held it  and slowly removed the rings on his fingers, you could feel him watching you as you gently ran the ice over the red knuckles on his hand and couldn't help your heartbeat from suddenly trying to imitate a formula one car as it raced in your chest. When you looked up at him his face was a lot closer than you anticipated and you felt his noxe brush your own. You looked into his dark eyes before it darted to your lips, you sucked in a breath as he looked back into your eyes. You were faintly aware of his hand now holding your wrist in his hand as he tilted his head slightly and pressing his lips against yours. He slowly brought your wrist up so it could rest on his shoulder and you immediately draped it around his neck comfortably, his kisses had gradually gone from soft to intense as he used his arm to pull you closer to him by your waist as he sat with his legs on either side of the bench, his fingers causing sparks on the bare skin of your back.
You weaved your fingers through the hair on the back of his head as he pulled away his lips trailing down the side of your neck only pausing to nibble on a spot that had you take a sharp intake of breath at the feeling. His hand was resting on your thigh, his thumb slowly brushing the inside of your thigh and he brought his mouth back to yours using your gasp as an opportunity to smoothly slip his tongue into your mouth. You could tell he was holding himself back as he let you set the pace. You gave him a soft peck before pulling away, not quite sure how this happened. You looked up at the handsome man in front of you, his big eyes half lidded and lips swollen because of the kiss, his grip on your thigh was strong and you could tell he wasn’t happy with you pulling away so soon.
“Yuk-Hei, I…” you started but trailed off, unsure of where you were going with the sentence because his grip on your thigh was distracting you.
“I like you.” He said suddenly and his big puppy dog eyes looked at you earnestly. You frowned and got up.
“Excuse me? The last time I checked you don’t treat someone like balls if you like them.”
“Sorry?” He said, his brows dipping in confusion.
“Well you haven’t been particularly nice to me, have you?” You said frustrated and turned your body away from him, you heard him get but didn’t expect to feel his hands spin you around and pin you against the lockers. He leaned in close his lips barely touching yours. Your heart stopped. His head dipped down and you felt his long lashes brush against you cheek, his breath fanning your jaw.
“Then let me show you how nice I can be.”
