Levi dealing with you when you're drunk and horny would be a pain in the ass for him.
"Come on. Just five more steps." Levi's arm was wrapped around you as he helped you walk up the stairs to your room. "One....three...oh shit. Did I miss a number?" Levi rolls his eyes as you trip for the who knows what time. "That's it." He lifts you up and carries you in a bridal style, listening as you laugh like you're having fun, which you probably are.
Finally making it to your room, Levi sets you on your bed and takes your boots off. "Did...did I tell ya that you look hot like that?" His eyebrow raises at your words. "I wanna give you head..." His temper is running shorter and shorter, he dealt with you duenk before but you were never this bold. "Most of the time when ....you yell at me during training...I just want you to dick me down-" "Shut the fuck up. You're drunk out of your mind." You laugh at his words, not even aware of what you just admitted to your captain. "Why won't you love me?" You whine grabbing onto his hand, Levi sighs. "You're lucky I do otherwise I would've left your drunk ass right where I found you."

.𖥔 ݁ ˖ LEAVING LIPSTICK STAINS ON LEVI
Tumblr media
fem!reader, sfw, fluff, you leave lipstick all over levi before a mission and the scouts find out, just something super cutesy & short while i work on some longer pieces hehe, pls ignore errors lol, 1.3k words
Tumblr media
“promise you’ll come back in one piece?” you say, smoothing the wrinkle between levi’s brow with a kiss.
he glances up at you from under his lashes, crinkling his nose as a short, breathy laugh escapes him, one he tries to subdue. still, he can’t deny the happiness that slips onto his features, not when joy is so fleeting because of the life that the two of you live.
cold hands run across your back, down to your hips as you straighten his collar, kissing his sharp cheekbones, the bridge of his nose. “i’ve made it this far, haven’t i?” levi mutters, squeezing your sides gently before shifting you off of his lap.
he lifts you, sets you on the edge of his desk, causing some of the papers that erwin had dropped off earlier to crinkle. a smile graces your lips as levi stands, stretching his limbs behind him, the chair pushing away from the desk with a creak.
“i’m going to be late because of you,” levi remarks, eyes narrowed playfully, but he gives you another kiss on the lips, lingering there like it’s painful to pull away.
“then stop kissing me.” your hands splay across his chest, but you don’t push him away, feeling his heart beat under his ribcage, the melody that you will always come back to. still, levi tugs your hips forward, slots in between your legs, and kisses you even deeper. “it’s time for you to go, captain levi.”
a heavy sigh weighs against your mouth, his exhale warm as he pulls back. “sounds like you want me gone.”
“of course i don’t.” your voice softens as you play with his fingers for a moment, before he's tugging them away gently, withdrawing from your figure. “i'm going to have to find someone else to sleep next to while you’re away."
normally, you would’ve been going with levi and the rest of the scouts, but an injury from your last mission prevented you from going on any more for a few weeks.
levi snorts, putting on his jacket, fixing the leather straps across his chest. “is that all i’m good for? killing titans and keeping your bed warm?”
you make a face at him, then shrug, half-hearted as he stares back at you with amusement. then, you laugh, cheerful and free; you know levi will come back to you. he has no other choice.
levi makes his way towards the door.
“levi?”
he turns, the lipstick stains still visible on his cheek, dark against his pale skin. for a moment, you wonder if you should tell him—if he’d be mad if you didn’t.
but then you remember he’s going to meet with a squad of fifteen year olds that have all almost died alongside him. if they really have a problem with their captain being loved by you, then they don’t care about him as much as you thought.
you smile and shake your head, voice holding just enough mischief for levi to notice. “just be safe. i love you.”
he softens. there are times where levi is hesitant to say the words, still worried you will be taken from him. but this is not one of those times. not when you will be separated for days, his life once again in danger. “i love you too, sweetheart.”
Tumblr media
within ten minutes, levi is down to the first floor, pushing into the room where the members of his squad are already waiting.
he’s only a minute late, but he feels like they must have been waiting for hours, the way that they are all gawking at him with wide eyes, connie’s jaw faltering slightly. “everyone here?” levi asks, doing a quick scan of the room, counting heads like he’s their babysitter.
no one says anything. eren’s eyes look like they might bulge out of his head, and jean covers his mouth, looking away as him and sasha let out a stifled giggle.
levi’s mouth draws into an even thinner line. “what the hell are you snickering about?" he grumbles, looking at each of them individually, wondering who will be the first to confess.
their eyes dart away dramatically, faces red. even eren, who is normally more obnoxious than the rest, seems to have run out of words to say.
his eye twitches; levi wonders if connie’s head might burst, or if sasha’s laugh will rip out of her first.
“well?” levi asks again, snapping, already tired of this mission. a hot cup of tea sounds nice, in bed next to you.
armin, as usual, is the one to speak up when no one else has anything intelligent to say. “well, sir,” the blonde says, gesturing towards his own face. “i think…”
levi touches his cheek, remembering all the places you’d kissed him earlier, wearing that pretty black dress and your dark lipstick. a sigh leaves him when he pulls his fingers away, the tips coming back, smeared with a deep red.
he should've known.
“i see," levi says, staring for a moment, before meeting eren's eyes, his lips finally widening into a grin.
“ooooh," eren sings, his expression smug as mikasa elbows him, her own features pinched tight. "the captain’s in looooove."
levi knows they are expecting a reaction, a spectacle of the fact that he adores you. but he’s never kept it a secret, and he’s certainly not ashamed of all the things he feels for you.
“and what if i am?” levi asks instead, pointedly staring eren down as the rest of the scouts watch the exchange. “honestly, i am surprised no one noticed sooner.”
eren’s jaw falters a bit; a small wave of silence falls over the scouts. you and levi don't make a point of hiding your relationship, but really, levi shouldn’t have been surprised that no one in his squad was observant enough to notice.
or so he thought, anyway.
historia’s smaller, high-pitched voice breaks up the quiet, repeating your name back to him, as if affirmation that you’re the one he kisses goodnight. a silly question really, considering levi has never looked at anyone else with the same kind of tenderness.
“it is her, isn’t it?” historia asks, smiling softly. “i only know because you’re always holding hands under the table when you think no one can see.”
levi raises his eyebrow. “clearly we were wrong about that.” though, of all the things to notice, he thought it’d be the way you kiss him after every mission, the way he’s harder on you than anyone else because he doesn’t want to lose you.
eren shrieks your name like he’s never heard it before, and levi is starting to wonder if the boy actually is an idiot. his old squad had known immediately; petra caught you sneaking up to levi’s quarters when you thought everyone else was asleep, kissing him on the cheek when you thought everyone's back was turned.
it’s been a long time since then, he supposes. maybe the years have taught you subtlety.
“how long have you been together?”
“does she actually like you?”
“do you—” connie makes a lewd gesture with his fingers. “you know.”
“connie!” jean shouts, whacking him on the back of the head. “what do you think! dumbass.”
“hey!" connie says, rubbing his head. “geez. i just can’t picture it.”
"i’d rather you didn’t." levi’s face turns sour, disturbed by a room full of teenagers discussing his private and romantic life. “bring it up again and i’ll leave you outside of the wall on the next mission.” he pauses, crosses his arms with an exasperated exhale. “and she likes me just fine. at least, she has for the past five years.”
“five—”
a new wave of questioning starts and levi pinches his temples, shakes his head, the red smear of lipstick still on his face.
levi almost wishes you could’ve been there to field the questions instead. you’ve always been better with the kids, connected with them a lot easier than levi had.
even if it was would’ve exposed his lovesick eyes, the tiny lift of the corner of his mouth when you were around.
he’s never been very good about hiding it anyway.

Levi x fem!reader, modern au, fluff
~686 words
Tumblr media
“You don’t actually read this shit do you?”
You look up from your spot on the carpet, surrounded by piles of screws and boards of various sizes to find Levi approaching from the kitchen.
A mug is carefully held in each of his hands, but tucked under his arm is a glossy magazine with bright, bold headlines about things like celebrity gossip and relationship advice that you assume is the culprit behind his question.
They’re technically not yours, but you can see how he’d arrive at the conclusion that they are. The growing pile that was neatly stacked on the counter’s edge in the next room was a product of a former roommate either not canceling their subscription or updating their mailing address. Either way, you had been stuck with three months of publications and hadn’t yet managed to toss them or send them to their rightful owner. A byproduct of your busy work schedule, not to mention the current project you’ve undertaken of repainting and redecorating your living room in your spare time.
It’s a simple answer really, but sometimes it’s more fun to bend the truth, especially when you know it’ll spark a reaction.
“How else am I supposed to find out if my crush likes me, Levi?” you ask, chuckling at the resulting scowl that forms on his face at your question.
After placing your respective mugs on the table, Levi returns to his spot at your side. Your folded knees brush together as he flips open the magazine to a random page.
“There are plenty of ways you can find out that don’t include—“ his gaze travels over the page he stops on, “—telling a joke to see if he laughs.” There’s a smile brewing on his lips when he looks back to you, leaning over slightly like he’s going to tell you a secret. “Don’t go with that one. Sometimes you’re not funny.”
You let your mouth fall open in feigned shock, and a small affronted gasp falls out. “Oh, really? How do you do it then?”
“Do what?”
“Let a woman know that you like her.”
His eyes skip back and forth between your own for a moment, allowing the amusement on his face to slowly fade to something more relaxed and thoughtful. You hold his gaze with simmering interest, trying not to focus too much on how warm you suddenly feel at his proximity or the rapid beating of your heart.
“Lots of things,” he finally answers, though his tone sounds noticeably less poised than before.
You’re about to make a snarky remark about how unhelpful his reply is, but the unexpected extension of Levi’s hand in your direction has the words tangling your tongue.
“Don’t move.” His eyes narrow as he inches closer. You feel his thumb brush your cheek, and it’s then that you notice the unnatural barrier of something tacky on your skin, dulling the sensation of his touch. “You’ve got paint on your cheek.”
It’s anticlimactic, but it breaks the sudden tension that has settled into the room enough for Levi to change the subject.
He shifts and returns his attention back to the assortment of items splayed out on the floor. The magazine sits long forgotten at his side. “Let’s get this bookshelf built already.”
“Yeah, good idea.” You nod in agreement, making a conscious effort to breathe more evenly in the absence of his stare.
He picks up the instruction manual from where it sits open on your thigh, then sets about separating the different pieces into their corresponding piles.
With little else to do until he’s finished sorting, you quietly sip at your tea. The phantom sensation of his touch still burns along your cheek long after he’s pulled away, but you keep your hands firmly cradled around the warm ceramic mug.
“I find ways to be useful,” he suddenly says, though his eyes barely stray from the manual for more than a second. The implication of his words settle slowly, sending your heart back into an erratic frenzy, but he continues, “When I like someone, I mean. That’s what I do.”

Make. Believe. ❖ Part 1
Tumblr media
Actor!Levi x Fem!Reader
It’s your first sex scene as a leading actress, and it’s with none other than Levi Ackerman. But you both can stay professional….right?
Warnings / Content: NSFW, Minors do not interact, oral sex (fem receiving), vaginal sex
A/N: I've been working on this one shot since April and it's finally here! There will be a Part 2, written from Levi's pov, available now!
Part 2 | Part 3
Tumblr media
“Oi, you ok? Ready to do this?”
Levi stands naked before you. It’s nothing new - you’ve seen his nude body several times already while shooting this film. But today is the day that you shoot the main sex scene with him - the first you’ve ever done as a professional actress.
And despite all the preparations you’ve done, you’re nervous as hell about it.
You take a deep breath. “Yeah…I’m ready.”
The Camera Assistant raises the slate, “Scene 24, Take 1…” *Clap*
“Action!”
When your agent told you about the role you knew you were perfect for it. An ingénue role: innocent, pure, but headstrong, and when you finished the audition, you knew you’d gotten it.
The movie is set in the 1920’s and tells the story about a woman who had been married off to an older, powerful man who owns a large estate. She has an affair with the quiet, mysterious groundskeeper. It’s all about class, duty, and desire.
You knew the role would require several sex scenes, and quite risqué ones at that. But that didn’t bother you. You’d been nude on stage while in acting school and you took your craft seriously.
What made you nervous was that you would be doing the sex scenes with Levi Ackerman.
You’d had a crush on him since your teenage years, when you saw him in the Attack on Titan series. You, and every other girl that saw him in that show. Ten years later, he was still one of the most sought-after actors in film and television. He excelled in dramatic roles and was a skilled physical actor, even doing most of his own stunts. In interviews, he was always cool and quiet, letting the other actors take the spotlight. He also kept his private life particularly private, and this gave him an air of mystery.
You weren’t sure what to expect when you met him for the first time with the rest of the cast at the first script table reading.
“Mr. Ackerman, I’ll be playing the part of Anna. It’s an absolute honor to be working with you.”
His grey eyes give you a once over, then he shakes your hand. “Please, call me Levi. I hear this is your first leading role.”
Just shaking his hand, you’re already blushing. How will you react when you actually have to touch him romantically?
You shake those thoughts out of your mind right now. “Y-yes, it is. I’d appreciate any advice you can give me.”
“This director is pretty strict about sticking to the script. I’ve worked with him before. But with love scenes, he’s going to give us a lot of freedom to kind of just do what we want.”
Oh god. He’s already bringing up the sex scenes. And he calls them love scenes. You feel your face getting even hotter.
He notices. “I’m guessing you’ve never done a love scene before.”
“I uh..” you were going to try to think of something witty to say, but it feels difficult to talk suddenly, “I haven’t, actually.”
He smiles. “It’s normal to feel nervous. The most important thing is for you to trust me, and for us to respect each other.”
The room is filling with more cast and crew as the table reading is about to start. Levi gestures for the both of you to have a seat. “Why don’t we start by getting to know each other after the table reading? When we’re not shooting we can get together and help each other with lines and maybe eat together during breaks. That way, I won’t feel like such a stranger.”
“That would be so nice. Yes, let’s do that,” you reply, feeling better and more comfortable with him already. He just seems so…normal. Not at all the broody, rude character he’s made out to be in the tabloids.
After that, you spent most of your free time with Levi. You’d hang out with each other in your trailers, working on memorizing lines or just talking. The director insisted on shooting most of the movie on location and not in a studio, so you were all left to basically live in a small town in the countryside. Levi would invite you out with other cast and crew friends. He was friendly - much friendlier than you’d imagined him to be - but you noticed that the larger the crowd got, the quieter he became. You much more enjoyed the time when it was just the two of you.
Leading up to your sex scenes, you and Levi were required to meet with an intimacy coach. She was pleased to hear that you and Levi were already getting to know each other, since trust is key. The three of you talked over the scene and the movements required.
“There will be moments where you two will have to be naked with each other, but when you two actually recreate sexual activity, you can use intimacy barriers and skin colored thongs and underwear,” the coach suggests. “Levi, I know you’ve done sex scenes totally nude in the past.”
That’s right..the independent film he was in a few years ago. There was a lot of controversy about the very explicit sex scene in that movie. So they were completely nude during that scene? Why do you feel jealous?
“Whatever Reader is comfortable with. I’ll follow her lead,” he says, matter-of-factly.
The coach looks at you. “And you’re comfortable being nude with Levi?”
You’re trying so hard not to blush and look professional, as if this conversation isn’t giving you butterflies in your stomach. You feel Levi’s grey eyes on you. “Yes, it’s not a problem.”
Later that afternoon, your words were put to the test. You were to shoot a scene where your character catches Levi washing outside his cottage. It’s a short scene but you’re nervous. When you arrive on set, Levi is already in a robe waiting.
The scene is set, and Levi takes off his robe. His body is even better in real life. He’s toned, and he has a perfect six pack with a deep v shape on either side. A black trail of hair leads down to his..
No, you shouldn’t look, it’s unprofessional. But you want to so badly.
“Reader, go to your mark,” the Director’s Assistant says.
“Y-yes, of course.” You take your place by the wall that surrounds his character’s cottage. When the director yells action you walk along the wall until you get to the entrance, but before you enter his garden, you see him washing at a basin near the home. You’re supposed to look for just a moment, then turn back against the wall and blush at seeing him.
But when you peek around the corner, you can’t help but let your eyes linger for just longer than you’re supposed to. He’s washing himself, the water flowing over his beautifully toned body. His hair is wet and he pushes it back.
“Cut!” the director commands. “Reader, you were staring too long. Remember, she’s shocked at what she sees and quickly turns away, but she’s also titillated.”
You blush and look over to Levi, who you hope is far enough away that he can’t hear what the director is saying. “Got it. Sorry about that.” You take your mark and do it again.
The next day, you had to shoot some other scenes and didn’t see Levi all day. Although the day’s shoot went without a hitch, you couldn’t help but think about that perfect body of his and how you would soon be touching and kissing it.
You arrived at your trailer earlier than usual the next day. There were a few cast and crew members ambling about, but it was otherwise quiet. You knock on the door of Levi’s trailer.
“Come in,” he answers. When you enter, Levi is casually sitting, drinking his tea and reading through today’s scenes. “I thought we could discuss how we wanted to block today’s physical scenes. It’s no nudity, but since it’s their first time,I think there are some particular movements they want us to include.”
It’s strange, talking to Levi about, “me grabbing your breast,” or, “when I enter you for the first time,” as if these are the most normal conversations to have in the world. But even hearing him say these words in his deadpan way of speaking is making the blood rush to your cheeks. After a lengthy discussion, you scribble some notes in your script for later, then make your way to your trailer to get into costume.
The scene is set in a hunting cabin far from the main estate. As your character has just left a dinner party, you’re wearing a beautiful wine colored gown that everyone remarks on. Everyone except Levi. He sits in his chair and seems to be in some kind of ultra-focused state. You’d never noticed before, but maybe that’s how he gets into character.
Or maybe he’s nervous too.
Your heart is pounding when the director says action. “Please don’t go,” you say, as you grab Levi’s arm.
You’d blocked out the scene with Levi this morning, but you suddenly have an urge to deviate slightly from the plan, not because you want to, but because you now feel like that’s what your character would do at this moment.
You hold his hand and begin to kiss his palm and wrist, then you place it on your cheek. It’s so innocent, but full of yearning. Levi’s body goes tense, but then he unexpectedly moves his thumb to your lips and you open your mouth. You begin to suck on his thumb, then his pointer finger, looking at him seductively when he finally pulls it out. He lets out a sigh and then he’s kissing you passionately; you pull down his suspenders while he lifts up the gossamer layers of your dress. Your mouths crash together as he undoes his pants. He tastes like spearmint, and you wonder if he did that on purpose. He moves away from the kiss and pulls off your underwear, and then he’s on top of you and between your legs.
Although his bare ass is showing, the camera angle doesn’t necessitate him completely against your crotch. But he pushes slowly as if he is entering you for the first time and after a few thrusts, he starts getting faster.
Your character is going through a lot of emotions at this point: desire, guilt, pleasure. You look away and your cheeks begin to flush as Levi continues to move, a certain kind of desperation in every thrust. You both begin to breathe heavily, your hands in his hair and his head in the crook of your neck. One final thrust, and there’s only silence, until..
“Cut!” the director cries out. “Good work, you two. Now, let’s do that again, with some closeup shots.
“You okay?” Levi asks as he gets off of you and grabs a rag to wipe off his sweat.
You straighten your dress and a makeup assistant comes over to touch-up your makeup. “Yeah..I’m fine.”
“They way you approached me, with the kisses on the palm and taking my fingers - that was a nice change.” He looks at you as he returns to his mark. “You have good instincts.”
“Thanks.” You laugh to yourself, because the compliment makes you blush more than when he was rutting against you.
The cinematographer changes cameras and gets closer. “Alright, let’s do that again..”
——
The next day, you meet with the intimacy coordinator to choreograph the next sex scene scheduled for the end of the week. In the midst of taking notes and discussing with Levi the motivations for each movement, you become quiet, your thoughts drifting elsewhere. Because for the last few days, you’ve had trouble differentiating your feelings for Levi and your character’s feelings for his character. The line seems to be blurring between them, and that concerns you.
In between scenes, you truly enjoy spending time with Levi. He’s smart and funny. He nerds out about tea and kung fu movies, and you’ve spent many an evening just listening to him go into more detail about the two than you ever thought possible. He gives you ideas when you struggle with character notes, and even helps you to memorize lines. At night, in the privacy of your hotel room, you’ve fantasized about what it might feel like to be desired by him, to hear him say your name as he touches your body.
Then you hear your name being called by the coordinator and you snap out of it. “Is that ok with you? Being completely nude for the scene?” she asks.
“No..no..I’d like for both of us to be covered,” you answer. It’s better this way, you think to yourself. It keeps it professional.
Levi shrugs. “Fine by me.”
You both walk back to the hotel at the end of the day, but Levi stops you before you enter the building.
“Hey, you ok today? You seem distracted.”
“I’m fine. I guess I’m just nervous about tomorrow.”
“I get it. But we’ve put a lot of work into this. And I’d like to think we trust each other at this point.” He puts his hand on your shoulder. “You’ve got this.”
Just like that, you feel more at ease. He just has such a way with you. “You’re right, we’ve done well so far. And I do trust you, Levi.”
——
When you arrive at your trailer the next morning, there’s a to-go cup on your table.
To calm your body and mind. —Levi
Your makeup artist smiles as you read the note. “Levi just brought that by. You sure have a great leading man.”
You smile. “Yeah, I sure do.”
The scene takes place in the forest in the afternoon. Your character has snuck away from her home to meet him, far away from spying eyes. The Director has decided to film the scene in sections instead of one long scene, at least for now.
The marker board is clicked and you and Levi walk hand-in-hand among the trees. He pulls you into a small clearing, then grabs the back of your neck as he starts kissing you fully. You pull away and look him in the eyes.
“I want you to fuck me.”
Your character is a lady of high society; it’s scandalous for someone of her stature to say such a thing, but here she is, with this man that is ‘below’ her, and she wants nothing else than for him to ravage her.
You can totally relate to your character, in that regard.
He moves closer to you and begins to fondle your breasts, then he grabs the front of your white cotton blouse and tears it off of you, revealing your bare chest.
He lays his chore jacket on the ground. “Undo my trousers,” he commands, and you do so. You then lie down on the jacket beneath you while he pulls down his trousers and takes off his henley shirt. When he takes off his trousers, you look away.
“No - don’t look away. Look at me,” he says with authority. He crouches over you and easily pulls off your skirt.
“Cut! Let’s get them ready for closeup shots.” The Director and his team set up for the next shots as you and Levi sit awkwardly on the ground. You can’t move too much because you don't want to spoil the continuity of the scene, so you freeze as your hair and makeup team tousle your hair and touch up your makeup.
Both of you have your groins covered but other than that, you are completely naked, except you’re still wearing your stockings and boots. The Director tells Levi to get on top of you and he does so.
“Ready to do this?” He whispers.
“Yes, I’m ready,” you answer.
“Scene 24, Take 1..”
*Clap*
Levi is immediately kissing your lips, then moving down to your neck and collarbone. He looks back up at you and begins to thrust, each one hard and deliberate. You begin to move your hips to meet his thrusts and he breathes heavily into the skin of your neck. Even without actually having sex, the friction enough is turning you on; that, and Levi’s kisses on your body.
Then you feel it. A hardening bulge rubbing up against your clit. You look into his eyes and see a brief flash of recognition, but neither of you break character.
He pulls you up and your legs are wrapped around him. He continues to thrust into you but it’s slower now, your bodies working together as you grind. His hard cock is rubbing your clit just right, and you feel like you could come from just this feeling alone. You’ve forgotten about the hoards of people watching both of you right now and you’re completely in the moment, letting him pull you even closer to him.
“Levi..” you whisper in his ear. It slips from your mouth before you know it; there aren’t any lines scripted for this scene, and you’re hoping it wasn’t loud enough for the boom mic to pick up. It earns a look from Levi and then he smirks - you’re not sure if that was in character either.
Your hands grasp at his hair and he starts slowing down. You look up at the sky thinking about the pleasure you - and your character - just felt. Then your lips graze against each other as your breathing becomes more calm.
“And cut! Great work you two I loved how that flowed. Let’s take a 15 minute break. I’ll look through the footage and decide if we need to re-shoot anything.”
Just like that, the moment is gone. The Director and others begin to move equipment and Levi’s assistant brings him a robe. He has it on and around him before you can barely get off of him.
“Good work,” he says curtly as he walks off. Your assistant takes a little longer to get to you, so you’re sitting there, naked, trying to figure out just exactly what happened between the two of you.
Levi keeps his distance during the break and as he listens to the director’s notes. You have to re-shoot a few closeup shots, and although the energy is still there, something is different. You can feel it.
——
Levi doesn’t come out with you and the crew for dinner that night, and he doesn’t reply to your text messages. You’re worried - did you do something to offend him? Was it because you moaned his name during the scene?
That has to be it. It probably made him feel awkward. Maybe he thinks you’re unprofessional. It makes your palms cold and clammy just thinking about disappointing him, you can’t bear it.
But you can’t deny that he was turned on during the scene. You felt him against you. You couldn’t have imagined that.
You walk back to your hotel room lethargically. You think about texting him again, this time apologizing for your behavior, but before you can, there’s a knock on your door.
“Levi?”
“Hey.” He shifts one leg to the other, and he rubs the back of his neck. “Can we talk?”
“Of course,” you open the door wider for him to enter, “come in.”
He enters, his body language clearly restless and troubled. “What’s up?” you question.
“About today’s shoot….I’ve been doing this a long time, and I’m always professional. I respect you as an actress.”
He paces the room and has a difficult time looking at you. You assume he’s going to reprimand you for your behavior today, so you prepare yourself. “I know you do, Levi. And I respect you.”
He finally stops in front of you. “But me getting turned on today…I don’t want you to think less of me. It’s just that you’re-“ he runs his hand through his dark hair.
Butterflies begin to form in your stomach. You’ve never seen Levi this flummoxed before. He takes a deep breath and it seems to give him focus as he moves closer to you.
“You’ve done something to me. When I had you in my arms today, I couldn’t help myself. Then when you said my name like that…”
He looks into your eyes. “I’ve kissed you countless times during this filming. But right now, I want to kiss you as myself.”
Your heart does backflips and your throat is suddenly dry. “So kiss me,” you invite, moving even closer to him.
It takes him a moment, almost as if he is checking if it’s truly ok. Then with a deep breath, he grabs the back of your neck and crashes his lips into yours. Even though you’ve kissed him many times, this time it’s different. There’s an electricity to it, an honesty, as if he’s laying bare his entire self to you.
His hand moves from your hip bone to under your shirt, his soft touch sending shivers down your spine. It doesn’t take long for his other hand to make it under your shirt as well, and soon he’s pulling it over your head and off of you.
You also start letting your hands roam, first down his back and then under his t-shirt. You grab the hem and pull it off of him, but before you can do more he’s working on unclasping your bra.
“I want you so badly.” His voice is low and raspy as he lays you on the bed.
You’ve started peeling off your leggings but he takes them and pulls them off roughly, desperately. “There are condoms in the drawer of the bedside table.” He gives you a look. “You know..just in case.” He smiles, then reaches over to the drawer. As he does so, you pull off your underwear and start touching yourself. You rub your clit in circles, watching him as he stands over you.
There’s a giant bulge in his grey sweatpants and you can see the lust in his eyes. “God, you’re beautiful.” He throws the condom packet down and dives in between your legs, kissing the inside of your thighs.
“Do you know how long I’ve wanted to have you like this? To take this beautiful pussy as mine?” He starts licking at your folds and you swear you’ve entered heaven. He starts flicking his tongue over your clit, alternating between fast and slow. Your back arches and your hands reach down to grip his hair.
“Yes, yes, right there….fuck…” You can’t believe this is happening. Levi is here, he wants you, and he’s eating your pussy in a way that no man ever has.
Just when you feel you could climax, he stops. He reaches down next to the bed and picks up the condom package, sticking it in his mouth as he takes off his sweatpants and underwear.
You’d seen him naked on set, but his cock had been flaccid at the time; now that he’s hard, it’s even more impressive. As he puts on the condom, you lick your lips, preparing yourself to truly - finally - have him inside you.
He can see the desire in your eyes. “Look at you - so eager for my cock are you?”
“Yes, Levi, I want it so badly. I’ve always wanted you.” You open your legs a little wider, inviting him to go between them.
He moves in and looks down on you as he touches his cock. “Fuck, you’re so pretty like this. I don’t know how I’ve kept myself in check for this long.”
You smile. “So you’ve been thinking about me?”
“Of course I have. How could I not?” He positions himself above you and rubs his cock on your entrance, covering it with your juices. “When I’m not on set with you, you’re all I think about.”
Before this night, Levi had always had a quiet, awkward confidence to him, as if there were a multitude of thoughts happening just below the surface; but now, he was assertive and cocky, telling you his thoughts and desires without any restraint. You loved seeing this new side of him.
He enters you slowly and you both take a deep breath, then he begins to move faster as he sees a smile form across your face.
“You feel so good…fuck…”
Your words encourage him to pick up the pace, the sounds of his hips slamming into you reverberate throughout the room. “Shit, you’re so wet, I can’t get enough of you.” He moves down to kiss you passionately, then he starts to kiss and suck on your neck.
“Be careful..I have to shoot a scene tomorrow,” you warn, halfheartedly.
“Makeup can cover it up,” he growls in your ear and then continues.
He feels so good, you can’t resist anything this man does to you, so you give into him completely as his cock rams into you and his mouth claims you.
The evening is a flurry of moans and grunts, him having his way with you on the bed, against the wall, in the shower - it was as if you were both discovering pleasure for the first time. Real pleasure - not performative.
As the sun begins to rise, you both lay exhausted and satisfied in the bed, the sheets in a tangled mess around you.
“This won’t change how we work together, will it?” you ask with a worried look on your face.
“Why would it? If anything, it’ll make our chemistry on screen more believable.” He kisses the top of your head. “And this will make the preparation for the other sex scenes much more interesting,” he says with a boyish grin.
You can’t argue with that. “I suppose life sometimes does imitate art.”

Levi taking care of you when you're sick
Characters: Levi x fem!reader
Genre: Modern!au
Warnings: SFW, fluff. Established relationship. Levi is the best lover anyone can ever ask for. A little self-indulgent. Use of nicknames (princess, baby, babe, love).
A/N: I'm down with a fever and all I want is to have Levi take care of me so, please enjoy this little drabble of Levi taking care of you <3 tbh this can also be for a gender neutral reader, but I decided to tag it as fem!reader because of the nicknames, so read it at your own discretion!!
Tumblr media
You woke up feeling like you got run over by a truck, your body unusually sore and aching. Your head was pounding and your throat felt as dry as sand. Weird, you thought. You felt okay last night before you slept.
"L-Levi?" you croaked, your voice cracking and your throat hurting. "Levi? Babe?" you called out, feeling hotter than usual under your layers. Your boyfriend stirred in his sleep and opened his eyes.
"Yes, baby? You're up early," Levi scooted closer to you, but his expression turned sour.
"You're sweating a lot." Levi jumped up and grabbed a thermometer. Touching your forehead, he realised you felt warmer than usual. As the thermometer beeped, he took it out and saw the reading on the screen.
37.8°C. You were having a fever.
"Get up, princess. Wash up. We're going to see Hange." Levi supported you up and carried you to the bathroom, sitting you on the toilet seat and helping you remove your sweaty clothing.
"W-wait, it's only 8am, love... Hange's clinic doesn't open until 10—"
"I'm calling them in a while. Don't worry. Are you able to stand?" You nodded and stepped into the shower, assuring Levi you're fine. Levi quickly went to give Hange a call, and they said they would wait for you two at their clinic.
Once the both of you were done washing up, Levi blew dry your hair and forced you into a thick sweater and comfy track pants. The heat was unbearable and you could already feel yourself getting sweaty, yet Levi said it was better to sweat it all out. Putting on a surgical mask on you and himself, Levi quickly escorted you into his car and began driving to Hange's clinic.
"Oi, four-eyes," Levi pushed the door of Hange's clinic and the loud chime of the bell signalled his arrival. Hange was already at the counter.
"Friendly way to greet your friend who opened up their clinic an hour earlier for you," Hange replied without looking up from their computer, taking a sip of steaming hot coffee from their mug.
"I'm sorry Hange," you let out a few coughs, feeling the swell in your throat, "I know you only start work at 10 and—"
"I'm kidding! Don't be sorry. I was just teasing Levi." Hange laughed and waved their hand before opening the door to one of the consultation rooms, telling Levi to bring you inside. Hange then put on a pair of gloves and a surgical mask and took your temperature. Your temperature was now 38.0°C.
Taking a stethoscope, Hange began asking you questions about your symptoms and you recounted them to the best of your ability. Levi had an arm on your shoulder, giving you reassuring squeezes and rubbing your back whenever you coughed. Hange wrote the prescriptions on a small card before handing it to the pharmacist through a small sliding window. Opening the door, Hange told you and Levi to wait outside.
"Remember to take your medicine on time and you'll recover within the next few days, okay?" Hange smiled as Levi collected the medicine from the pharmacist. You nodded while suppressing your cough and Hange frowned.
"Don't do that, it's bad for your throat. Also, no cold drinks or food, no snacking, and no physical activities even after you've recovered." Levi grunted a word of thanks as you waved goodbye before walking you out of Hange's clinic, making a beeline straight home.
"Go take a shower, princess. I'll cook you some soup." Levi told you as he unlocked the door, helping you remove your shoes. You felt really lethargic all over and badly needed to nap, yet you knew you had to get a rinse to cool down your temperature. You slowly made your way to the bathroom and took a well needed cold shower, hissing in pain whenever the cold water hit your skin. When you were done, you made your way to the dining table. Levi was still in the kitchen, and you could catch a whiff of fragrant soup.
"I know you don't have much of an appetite, but you need to eat, okay? Drink some soup first. I cooled it already." Your boyfriend gave you a soft kiss on your forehead and pushed the bowl of vegetable soup in front of you. You took a good look and realised it wasn't the bowl you usually used for meals, but a smaller-sized one. You gave him an appreciative smile before taking a sip while Levi sat beside you.
"Mm... It's good," you took slow sips, coughing sometimes as Levi rubbed your back.
"Want more? I'll get you another bowl." Levi stood up and went to the kitchen with your half-empty bowl, coming back with a new piping hot bowl of soup. You took your time and finished your soup, feeling your throat less scratchy and dry compared to how it was in the morning.
"Come on, let's get your hair dried and you need to take a nap." Your boyfriend held you up and walked you back to the bedroom. You could feel your head spinning and the aches all over your joints, you couldn't wait to fall asleep. Levi helped you sit and began blow drying your hair for you, making sure he wasn't accidentally pulling your hair or scratching your scalp too hard. The soft pressure from Levi's fingers combing through your hair was so comforting that you nearly dozed off without realising. Once Levi was done, he quickly got you your medication and made sure you took all of them before tugging you into bed, making sure you were comfortable.
With your head on your pillow and your blanket covering your entire body, Levi was closing the curtains when you softly said "b-babe," after a small coughing fit, cringing after hearing how hoarse your throat was. Levi hummed in response.
"... can you nap with me?"
Levi turned around and gave you a grin, "yeah, of course, princess. Give me a sec, okay?" and he left the bedroom for a short moment before coming back with a huge flask of water and your water bottle, setting it on top of the bedside drawer. Levi got under the covers and gently pulled you closer, letting your back rest against his sturdy chest as he loosely draped an arm around you.
"Y-you don't—cough—you don't have to be s-so close," you shivered, "I'm really w-warm, and I don't want to pass my f-fever—cough—to you—"
"Shhh, it's fine," he pressed a fleeting kiss on your crown, "you're toasty." Levi let out a long breath before pulling you closer to him. "go to sleep, love. Before I knock you out." you bit your lower lip and tried to hide your laughter, instead you broke into a coughing fit. You briefly turned to look at your boyfriend.
"Don't be mean babe, I'm sick."
"And I'll take care of you until you recover," Levi gave you another small smile and pressed a kiss to your cheek, "go to sleep. I'll wake you up before dinner." you nodded and closed your eyes, listening to your boyfriend's slow breathing behind your back. Levi kept his eyes on you, watching you until the crease between your brows disappeared before joining you in dreamland.

☆ HESITATION…? | levi ackerman ☆
-> cw/tags: 18+mdni, fem!reader, no spoilers, pwp, p in v, unprotected, reader has wrists bound, eating out, dom!Levi, sorta abrupt ending, little bit of aftercare I suppose?
-> length: short, 736 words
-> a/n: uhhh this came out of nowhere. but I’ve been having some writer’s block recently so here’s a drabble thing! I suppose this could be set in the ‘universe’ where Levi is pining for you, but you definitely don’t need to have read those for this
Tumblr media
When Levi finally gets his hands on you, he hesitates rather uncharacteristically. It makes you wonder if the stoic persona he’s honed over the years is just that: a mask, a façade to hide the deep sorrow that resides within, if the great Captain Levi can indeed feel fear and anxiety about something this intimate.
And while that is somewhat true about humanity’s strongest soldier, you’re actually dead wrong. Levi isn’t worried he’ll say something dumb or scare you off when he’s only just barely gotten you. No, he’s really just torn about whether he should give you the slow, passionate love you deserve, or the desperate, rough fuck that his current maelstrom of emotions are begging him for.
Confident as he is, in the few moments where his face pauses, hovering just above yours, he settles on: why not both?
So first — after politely seeking your permission, of course — he’ll scatter your bare skin with nips and bruises, pin you against the wall and growl downright filthy things into your ear. He’ll slowly lose his tight composure bit by bit with each desperate whimper, each Yes, Levi you moan in response to his orders. Levi will kneel before you — and only ever you, god he’s never wanted to do anything more — and command you to grab onto the bookshelves on either side of your body while he hoists your knees over his shoulders, leaning your back against the wall. He’ll hungrily, desperately press his mouth against your aching, sopping cunt and eat you out with a ferocity that’s almost too much. Calloused fingers will pump in and out of you in steady rhythm with his tongue and teeth on your clit until you sigh his name with your orgasm, the back of your head hitting the wall behind you.
Then, of course, he’ll drag you to his bed and push your head into his pillow with one hand, the other palming the outer side of your thigh, little moaned Fuck’s leaving his mouth interspersed with your name. You’ll whine for him to go harder, relish in how it makes his dick throb as it reaches to the deepest parts inside of you, your wrists straining against the belt he’s tightened them together with. You ache to touch him, to touch yourself where you need it, and Levi takes notice of your hands moving against your lower back.
Desperate, hm? He says, balls slapping against your ass with every thrust, Too bad. This — f-fuck, he’ll groan as he reaches two fingers to swirl around your swollen clit, This is only for me to touch. You’ll both find your release soon after: all it takes is to feel you squeezing around him to make Levi come undone, filling you up with his desperate release. His hips, though already inside you to the hilt, will lightly buck even further against you in time with each throb of his orgasm, a moaned sigh leaving his lips.
Now that his initial hunger for you feels sated, Levi will slowly take himself out of you with a hiss — he’s still sensitive, after all — and brush back the rogue hairs that have pressed against his sweat-slicked forehead. He’ll undo the belt binding your wrists, using his thumbs to lightly massage into the reddened skin there, and lean over to press kisses down your spine. He’ll leave a final kiss on your cheekbone before gently rolling you onto your side, settling in behind you, murmuring your name into your ear with a sex-roughened voice.
Levi isn’t worried at all, even if it seems like it from the hesitant way that his arms wrap around you. If anything he’s relieved that you’re not quite ready to be done yet either - he can tell from the way you subtly grind backwards into his still-sensitive length, how he can feel more of your wetness spill out from between your legs mingled with what he left inside of you. It makes him throb, makes him twitch just a little bit.
Levi sighs shakily into your ear. You’ve seen one side of him now - it’s only fair to show you how much he’s wanted you all this time, to whisper how much he’s longed for you in your ear while he slowly, lovingly presses himself inside of you. He’ll get there, he swears.
He’s not hesitating - he just needs a few minutes.

Professor Levi pt. 2
previous chapter next chapter
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You finally let out the breath you were holding once you came out of the door of his office, but your heart was still racing. what the fuck was that?
before you knew it, your feet were already taking you to the nearest bathroom as you try to recall what happened just minutes ago inside his office, with him, your oozing hot hotter than lava of a professor, fuckin Levi Daddy Ackerman.
“I said, do I make you nervous?” you hear your name being called. the words were there, the tone sounded like it was a question and you felt your ears tingling at the familiar raspiness of his voice. you could only look at the pair of gray irises in front of your face. He was talking to you and you were just staring at him, although the term ogling was more fitting.
when he realized that you weren’t in the state to answer all of his questions, he stood up and walked towards the window of his office with his back facing yours as he crossed his arms looking outside. you couldn’t see his face, but to your relief that was even better for the sight is enough to make any sane woman lose her senses. you take in the view in front of you, he wasn’t that tall, but he was built just in the right places. from the heel of his leather boots to the edge of that neat undercut that you imagine your hands running through way more than multiple times.
“you’re attracted to me.” it wasn’t a question.
“what?”
“I can see it. I’m not blind, you know?”
you lower your head down, mortified. there’s no point in denying it now, the revelation is clear. he knows how you feel about him, your obviousness and the not-so-secret ogling you have been doing to him have finally paid off, how great. there’s nothing really wrong with being attracted to your professor, right? almost every student goes through that phase, totally normal, not weird at all. it’s just that you are on the brink of failing his class, nothing serious.
“I’m offering you a deal.”
Levi turns around and your eyes lock making your breath caught in your throat. he is walking towards you, both hands inside the pocket of his pants. you suddenly feel so small with every stride he takes towards you, he’s getting closer and closer. not again
wait.. a deal? what is he talking about?
“I want you to write an essay.”
essay?? what the fuck!?
“im confused, sir. an essay about what?”
“a five thousand-word essay, no less— no more— I want you to write why you’re attracted to me, reasons and all that, I don’t care. convince me and I’ll let you pass this subject.”
there’s a glint in his eyes that you couldn’t quite decipher and hearing him repeat your attraction towards him from his own mouth is causing your stomach to flip. is he actually serious about this?
“b-but-“
“no buts, I just made you a deal. do you want to pass or not?”
you bit your lip, a little annoyed and disappointed. well, what do you expect with the deal he’s going to offer? one night with him to pass? or perhaps a kiss for every A+ on your papers? but no, this man just asked you to write a five thousand-word essay about why you’re attracted to him. now, you’re kinda convinced by the rumors of your professor being a psychopath. nevertheless, you decided to take the offer and give him your answer.
“yes, sir.” right now, there’s nothing more important to you than to pass his class. it won't be that hard, right?
“that’s all. you may go.”

Hey. Can you do headcanons of Levi having a crush on a woman in the scouts but all the boys have a crush on her as well because she's very beautiful, kind and sweet? Thank you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🌹 You were like honey, attracting people, opportunities and compliments wherever you went.
🌹Levi knew he was setting himself up for failure the moment he began to yearn for you.
🌹 Why would you give him the time of day?
🌹 Not only were you beautiful, but you were so kind, gracious and radiant you were almost ethereal in a sense. You were so out of reach.
🌹Because you drew people to you like bees were drawn to honey, Levi couldn’t catch a minute to spare with you since he could never seem to catch you alone.
🌹 Even the guys in the 104th were entranced by your existence. Like flies. All swarming you. None of them could leave you alone. Connie, Jean and Armin drooling at your feet like famished hyenas who had just found their food. It disgusted him. At least he had more self control than those brats he lead.
🌹Even if he somehow did find time alone with you, what would he say? He had no clue. How could he possibly sum up everything he’s ever felt about you in the span of a few mere minutes? Seconds, if he was lucky.
🌹 So he’d stare. Steal a few glances every now and then, so subtly you couldn’t even tell. You were in blissful ignorance to the fact that the Captain seemed to have a soft spot for you.
🌹 His eyes would linger on you long enough to break contact from your beautiful form the second you looked up at him.
🌹 The Captain was smitten. Admiring from afar is just what he had to do for now, and that didn’t seem like such a bad deal.

Ooh okay soo! I think this is how you ask to partake in your ice cream event…. But can I order…
Matcha Green tea + Candy…
For an idea… Perhaps both the reader and MGT (yes I am now casually calling Heicho that) both have feeling for each other, but Green Tea tries to keep Reader away from him, to try and cut out his feelings. But after they/he have a close call on a mission he realises he can’t go without telling them how he really feels 🤭
I’m not sure if we specify preferred pronouns, but ig AFAB? No worries if you change it! <3
Excited to see this event <3
Order up!! One matcha green tea with candy for Koko!!

The sound of your feet squishing in the thick mud is the only sound you hear outside of the rushing of blood that runs in your ears from your anger. Your goal is in sight, a lantern lit and casting shadows against canvas confirming that the one person you want to see right now is still awake. You're not just mad, you're annoyed and a little offended.
The moment you reach the tent you were so adamant to reach, you don't hesitate to pull back the flap and step in. You're met with a back turned to you as the owner leans over a table on both arms to look at something. He doesn't say anything, but you know he knows you're here.
“Levi, what the hell?” You raise a piece of paper clutched between tight fingers, crinkled from being balled up in the minutes it took you to find the captain.
“Why are you still here? Head back to Shiganshina.” Levi's voice is low. Not in a threatening way, just tired. Exhausted. Even in his white undershirt, you can see his back muscles tense as his fingers grip the edge of the desk.
“I'm not going.” You press, digging your heels into the soft floor of Levi's tent.
“Yes, you are. It's an order.”
“I'm not going back. You can't make me.”
“The hell I can't. Are you really about to fight a direct order?” Levi finally turns around to face you, arms crossed against his chest as he scowls at you. Steel gray eyes cut at you with annoyance and you're quick to shoot back daggers of stubborn defiance.
“Le-"
“No. I don't want you with us. I said you're staying here.” Levi seethes.
You huff heavily as you rip up his written request to return home, letting the pieces flutter to the ground. You turn on your heels and storm out of the tent, your hands balling into fists so tight that your nails dig into your palms with angry tears pricking in the corners of your eyes. He can order you all he wants but you were not out of options. Commander Hange’s tent was your next destination.
.
If looks could kill, Captain Levi would have murdered you ten times over. You didn't have to look his way to know that his icy glare bore holes in the back of your head as you both waited in the shadows for any sign that Eren needed backup.
“Does the back of my head look appealing to you?” You retort dryly, making sure your voice was quiet enough to not be found out but loud enough for Levi's sensitive ears to pick up.
“Hardly.” His gaze doesn't leave though, that much you know.
“I don't regret coming.”
“Tch, I'm sure you don't.”
“Are you going to be mad at me all night?” Your fingers tap nervously on the metal of your guns, the noise of it echoing down the alley you and Levi were in. Not at Levi's attitude to you, but for the fight that is already ensuing around you.
“Depends. Will you zip to a roof and away from the battle until it's time to leave?”
“No.”
“Then yes, I will be mad at you all night.”
You don't respond back to that. You really don't regret coming but Levi was sure to make every moment hell. From the silent treatment on the way to Libero to the dirty glances and tongue clicks thrown your way.
Fortunately, it seems you didn't need to wait very long as you watched the jaw titan leap off the roof and onto Eren's titan – its jaws already bearing down onto his neck. You finally glance back at Levi to get the okay and you watch something flash in his eyes before they narrow at you.
“He took too long. It's time to go.”
As you're about to fly up to the roof, you feel Levi grip your arm in tight fingers.
“Don't you dare die. If there's any order you're going to obey, follow that.” He doesn't wait for you to answer before throwing himself out into the raging battlefield.
.
You followed orders – you didn't die, though you're not sure how.
As all fights went, things happened too fast. Fellow scouts whirred around you as you tried to get from point A to point B, shooting anyone that got in your way without the scout emblem on their uniform. There were too many close calls but overall, you were doing well. Shooting was always your strong suit… but maneuvering?
You thought you were clear to zip to where Levi stood on top of the fallen beast titan's body with Zeke Jaeger in his grip. He's growling something down to the worn out Marleyan when he looks up to the noise of your ODM gear.
At first, his heavy lidded eyes glance at you impassively. But in a split second, they widen in shock as something shoves you to the side with enough force that your hooks release from the brick building you were latched onto. You're flung backwards into a pile of rubble, a plume of dust exploding on impact.
You're so disoriented that you don't feel the pain that shoots through your whole body. Your ears ring as you attempt to move but your limbs are filled with lead. It takes what feels like years for some senses to come back to you. The first thing you feel is the soreness of being thrown out of the air. The next is the sharp and agonizing pain originating from your left shoulder and radiating through your bones. Even though it's muffled, you hear your name being yelled out. Cracking an eye open, you see a shadow of a figure coming straight at you with stars dancing around them.
“Dumbass!” Levi shouts, his voice warbled from the high pitch whine in your ears. You attempt to open your eyes fully, struggling to do so. Through heavy blinks, you see gray eyes blown wide in panic.
“M'fine Levi.” Is all you're able to get out before your vision fails you and your senses cut out once again.
.
It feels as if you blinked and suddenly you're transported somewhere else. The moment your eyes open, you're met with a sheer curtain blowing in the gentle breeze coming from the open window. Sunlight filters through in soft rays. You're propped up against multiple pillows and lying in a plush bed. Everything aches.
As you blink awake, you look down at the state you're in.
Your body is wrapped in white bandages that circle around your chest multiple times then around your shoulder, covering enough that a top wasn't needed. You're so stiff that you can't move very easily even if you wanted to. You think you feel something wrapping around your head as well, which throbs in pain. But you're breathing easily and every toe and finger wiggle without issue. You take a look at your surroundings next.
You're in a room that looks very familiar to you. Not like you've been in this room specifically, but the architecture is something you know. Wooden paneled walls, dark wood floors, basic furniture. You almost miss it as your eyes scan the room, but they double take back to the disheveled man sleeping in what looks to be a very uncomfortable chair in an even more uncomfortable position.
He's slouched all the way back with an arm draped over his eyes, soft snores escaping the pouty lips that sit agape. He's back in the regular scout uniform, straps and all. His green cape wraps around him, the only other sign of life outside of the soft noises he makes is the lift of his shoulders as he breathes.
“Levi?” Your voice comes out scratchy and hoarse, dry from the lack of moisture.
Levi's arm slips off and he sits up with a start, his eyes looking around in surprise until they fall on you. As if a weight lifts off his chest, his face relaxes at the sight of you. He's quick to stand up and move to the other side of the room where you are before sitting on the edge of the bed next to you. The sudden shift in weight moves your body and you can't help the wince that contorts your face as a hiss escapes between your clenched teeth.
“No, it's okay.” You assure when Levi moves to get up. He stays. Reaching over, he grabs the lukewarm glass of water that sits on the bedside table next to you and hovers it in front of your face. You get the hint and lean back more so he can tip it back for you, the water relieving the soreness in the back of your throat.
“Were you even thinking?” He asks once you're done. His eyebrows furrow, a look of concern laced with anxiety and a hint of anger pointed in your direction. He sets the glass back down on the wood with a ‘thunk'.
“I just thought you could use the backup.”
“I was fine. You should have gone to higher ground with the others.”
“I didn't want to sit idle while your back was open.”
“You know better than to worry about me. You're lucky the other brats were there to help grab the asshole because otherwise I-.”
“Levi, did you stay just to berate me?” Annoyance seeps into your tone as you lean back to stare at the white ceiling. Tears prick the corners of your eyes. From frustration at your situation. From the way Levi was talking to you. At yourself for making Levi so upset.
“I told you to stay here. You wouldn't have been hurt if you just stayed.”
“I was not okay with the idea of watching everyone go without me. If something happened while I was here twiddling my thumbs, I would never forgive myself.”
“And if you died, I would never have forgiven myself.”
“Why do you even care? Scouts join with the threat of dying looming over our heads all the time. I know what I signed up for.” Your eyes glare daggers into Levi's face, which stays deadpan as always.
“Because I care about you, dumbass.” Levi growls, standing up abruptly with his back to you. You can tell his arms are crossed even with the cape obscuring his upper body. He starts pacing between the desk and the bed.
“Pfft yeah okay, Captain.”
“Is it so hard to believe that I'd care about my team?”
“I'm not on your team and I didn't see you fighting to make anyone else stay home.”
“You're so dense. You know that?” Levi whips around to face you and you're shocked to find a much softer expression than what his tone indicated.
“I-"
You don't get another word in as your mouth is cut off by Levi striding over to you in a few short steps and leaning down to press his lips onto yours roughly. You instantly feel his frustration, so palpable on your tongue as he kisses you deeply.
It takes a moment for you to register what's happening and when you do, you don't hold back. Even though your body screams in agony, you pull your arms up and wrap them around Levi's neck to pull him closer as you mirror back the same intensity he was giving you.
Levi pulls away and tilts his head so that his cool forehead is resting against yours. He sighs. It's as if that pent up anger and fear he had chewing on his insides were now free, and all he felt was relief.
“I couldn't lose you. I thought if I pushed you to stay here, you would stay safe. Not saying I was right but…” He trails off.
“I'm sorry.” You whisper back, finally finding your voice.
Eventually he pulls away and sits back on the bed, staring straight ahead to the bare walls so that all you see is his side profile. His jaw tenses as he clenches it in thought. There's a soft pink dusting his cheeks from what you can tell.
“You don't need to apologize. I'm the one that's sorry, for not being honest about how I feel about you before we left. If I had, maybe you would have stayed. ”
“And how do you feel about me?”
Levi suddenly starts picking at an invisible string that must be hanging off his coat sleeve. You've never seen Levi so bashful, so shy. He doesn't even look at you as he mumbles away, voice barely audible.
“Don't make me say it.”
“These wounds may kill me, you know.” You tease.
“Tch, you're going to be fine.”
“Levi…” You say softly, reaching over to tug on his cape to get his attention. When he looks over to you, his expression looks wary like the night before the raid. Dark circles cut into the porcelain skin under his eyes which were droopy with exhaustion.
“I-I think I like you. I have for a while.”
“That much I can tell.” You retort, feeling your face bloom in heat at his adorable confession. Levi Ackerman could cut down twenty titans in the span of fifteen minutes, but he can't talk about his feelings. It was comical, in a very endearing way.
“Don’t tease me or I'll never open up to you again.” He threatens though his voice contains no malice.
“Okay, okay. But why did you wait so long to say anything?” You ask, raising an eyebrow.
“I thought if I just ignored the feeling, kept you at arms length, it would go away.”
“And did it?” A smirk tugs at your lips.
“Obviously not, stupid.”
You reach your hand out to Levi, palm open and fingers loose. He regards you once again, sighing heavily before taking it into his own. His skin is calloused from his years of ODM gear usage.
“I like you too, Levi.” You give him a lopsided grin when he looks into your eyes, searching for the same sincerity that you laced into your voice. You really did, and like him you didn't say anything for the longest time. Why though, you weren't sure. Maybe for the same reason. The room is quiet save for the distant chatter from outside the window, until Levi finally pipes up eventually.
“You know, we probably don't have time for something like this right now.” He watches you with apprehension. Like he was asking for you to refute that, not like he had to ask.
“Isn't that more reason to push for it if our time is so limited anyways?”
“We could lose each other so easily in this line of work.”
“If I'm going to die anyways, I might as well live it the way I want to. I'd like to spend the rest of it with you, if you'll have me.” This catches Levi off-guard. His lips purse at the thought, but he doesn't dismiss it. In fact, a smile tugs at the corners of his mouth after a moment.
“When I get back, we'll talk about it all.”
“So you are leaving. Is that why you're dressed in your uniform?” You frown.
“They're sending me to watch over the stupid monkey and there's no telling how long I'll be out there. I just didn't want to leave without making sure you were okay.”
“I'm going with you.” You shoot up, the pillows behind you toppling over. Despite the pain shooting throughout your system, you bite back the wince and attempt to throw your legs over the side of the bed.
“Don't even think about it! You're not going.” Levi grabs your leg and holds it down, stopping your momentum.
“And why not?”
“You didn't listen to me last time, listen to me now. You need to heal otherwise you're just a liability. Stay. Here.”
“You know, worry is a two way street. If we’re going to make this work, you need to be okay with me fretting over you too.” You point a finger between you and him to make the point. “I don't like the idea of you being out there with him.”
“I won't be alone, I'll be fine.”
“I'm going to need more than a ‘I'll be fine’, Levi.”
He leans towards you, both arms propped on either side of your hips and he's close enough you can smell the mint and tea leaves on his breath. There's a clarity in his eyes that wasn't there before, erasing any sign of exhaustion.
“I promise I'll be back. No matter what shape I'm in. Even if that asshole finds a way out of his shackles, I will find a way back to you.”
He leans in and kisses you again. This time softer, slower. One that sends tingles down your spine and into the tips of your toes. Before pulling away, he kisses the top of your head.
“And when I see you again, we will talk about us.”

chapter 22| Lovesick
WC-3.9k
Summary
The underground is filthy and dark. Dim lights, dull alleys, and desperate hearts. A place Levi knows as well as the back of his hand, and a place he would do anything to get out of.
Chapters of life roll by and with the turn of a page, things drastically change. In front of him is the opportunity to live on the surface. And the flimsy bridge that he has to cross. From an uncivil criminal to a disciplined soldier.
But life on the surface seems tougher amidst all the mockery, civilities, and the gaping hole left in his heart, after the demise of his dear friends Isabel and Farlan.
Content/Warnings
canon- compliant, canon-typical violence, spoilers for No Regrets OVA, descriptions of PTSD, grief, depression, heavy angst and themes, strong language, self-hate, physical assault.

SEPT 847
The streets are muddy, the clouds are gray, and Levi shakes off the muck from his boots as he stands in front of Mae's door. It's been a minute since he's been knocking on her door, and still there's been no answer.
His lips pull into a frown. As much as he hates to admit this, he likes to be welcomed by her jumping into his arms.
His fingers slide down to his pocket, bringing out the spare keys to her home that he always keeps. And he opens the door.
The walls have been repainted yellow. She's knitted colorful pillow covers to keep on the settee. His favorite books are all stacked on the shelf. And the kitchen is always stocked with all kinds of tea.
His gaze turns soft as he takes it all in. Mae has taken her sweet time to make her house theirs.
He climbs up the stairs, making his way to the bedroom.
The curtains are drawn close. And Mae sits on the bed, huddled in a thick blanket. Her face is almost red, and her eyes are dull, clearly unwell. The sight makes Levi freeze at the door frame.
"I knew it was you...," Mae beams with pride, her voice scratchy. "I could tell by your footsteps."
Her forehead is burning up, and it hurts to smile through the pain. But she's so ecstatic to see Levi, she can't help herself. "I want a kiss." Her lips shift into a cheeky grin, and she stretches her arms forward, towards him.
And Levi leans on the doorframe, meters away from her. Unsure of what to feel.
They've only kissed a few times before. But the thought still knocks the wind right out of his lungs.
"N-no, you are sick. Stay away from me." He somehow manages.
"Humanity's strongest can handle a little fever, can't he?" She teases.
"Tch.. y-you're so gross." He pivots and walks away. Only to come around a minute later. With his hands cleaned, and his clothes fresh.
"You're burning up." He scolds as he keeps her hand on her forehead. "How the hell did you end up like this?"
"The weather change-" she coughs.
"Ssh," he silences her off. "Don't talk, your voice is almost gone."
He goes back down again and comes up with some water in a bowl and a clean napkin. "How many times have I told you to not be so careless," His voice is almost angry, but Mae doesn't miss the concern woven in it. "And why didn't you write to me and let me know that you were unwell?"
The tray is set down on the nightstand. And he drags the chair from her work desk, to sit next to her.
"It's just been two days, and a letter takes a week to reach... I'm sure I would have been fine by then."
"Tch," Levi frowns. He dips the napkin into the bowl of water. Squeezing it out and putting it on her forehead. It's cooling, and Mae shuts her eyes close. Warmed by his love.
"Should I call a doctor?" He suggests, a few minutes later.
"Levi! I am a doctor..." she retorts.
"Well congratulations then Ms. Doctor, for falling ill." He grumbles, pissed. The space between his brows is crinkled, and he seems incredibly focused keeping a wet cloth on her forehead.
The relentlessness in his actions gives away his stress.
And Mae doesn't understand why he's getting so paranoid over this. It's a simple fever, that's all, nothing she hasn't had before.
It takes her a minute to realize that his mother died of sickness, too. And perhaps what is making him act this way are the wounds that have been left long forgotten.
Her face softens, and she places her hand over his lap.
"Take a breath Levi. I'm not going anywhere, anytime soon." Her hand lands on his, she gently squeezes it in reassurance.
And Levi's icy blue eyes widen for a millisecond, before he catches himself. Then he grunts, pressing his lips into an unamused line.
"Try to sleep, instead of staring at me," grumbles. He grabs her shoulders as he helps her lay on her back. Then he tucks her in the blanket, for good measure
"You're not mad that I'm unwell, right? I know you're here to take a break... but I don't have anything prepared as I was sick yesterday too..."
"No shithead, why would I be?" he questions, as he blinks at her. There are words buried in his lips that are hesitant to come out. But somewhere down the line, he knows they'll make her feel better.
"I," his voice trails off. "I-I'm glad t-that I'm here and you're not alone, having to take care of yourself."
And Mae's eyes light up. She's blessed indeed, to have someone as wonderful as him next to her.
Her fingers interlock with his, as he sits on the bed, next to her.
"Baby," she sighs. Tempted to bring his hand to her lips and peck it.
"Tch, is that your way of calling me short," Levi's face turns serious all of a sudden, and he raises a brow.
"What noo!" she exclaims, "Raz found herself a guy, and he calls her baby."
"That's such an uncommon thing to call your partner, is he a pedophile or something?"
Laughter escapes past Mae's throat at that. Trust Levi to make the cutest things dark. And then she starts coughing.
He turns her to the side, and starts rubbing her back.
"But isn't it cute." she pouts.
"Tch," Levi clicks his tongue in disdain.
"But Leviii, " Mae huffs, her brown eyes sparkle playfully. " I don't want to be 'brat' anymore, I want to be 'baby'."
"Well unfortunately for me you are a brat and a whiny baby as well." Levi smirks.
"I knew you weren't going to give in to this, which is why I'll find cute nicknames for you instead!"
She ponders for a minute.
"Sweet cake?"
He frowns.
"Okay Mr.Frown Face, how about buttercup then?"
"You're horrible at this" he blinks.
Thunder cackles and raindrops run down the window like tiny rivers. The overcast sky dims the room further. The sound of rain fills up the space, but the dreary weather doesn't dull the mood.
And when Levi places the napkin on Mae's forehead again, her heart races.
"Cupcake?"
"Ew."
"Pudding?"
"Not at all."
"Sugar Plum."
"Mae," Levi sighs, exasperated and partially embarrassed. "I'm an army officer who has killed hundreds of titans with ease. I'm Humanity's Strongest for god sake!"
And Mae sports a toothy, teasing smile. Fully knowing she's the only one who can get away with this. "But... but you were Humanity's Cutest before you were Humanity's Strongest."
And Levi looks back at her. Turning pink and ridden speechless.
"Okay how about pumpkin pie then?"
"I'm not the menu card of the bakery you dream of opening in the future."
"But all my desserts will be inspired by you and you only."
And Levi tries his best to act annoyed. But she has flustered him too much now, much against his own wishes.
He decides that someday if they ever end up having kids, he'll never let Mae name them.
━━━━━━━━━━━━
Sunlight slips past the narrow gaps in the curtains, making the dim room a tad bit bright. The morning sun rises past the trees, making the world get up from its slumber.
And the first thing Mae sees when her eyes open is Levi.
He's on the chair next to her, fanning her body.
Sitting exactly where he was, before she drifted to sleep.
And slowly the clogs in her brain start spinning.
"Levi," she gasps, almost horrified. "Did you not sleep at all?"
"I'm alright..." he mutters, but there's a softness in his gaze. "You're doing so much better now, I guess the wet cloth helped."
Surprisingly, he's not grumpy after not sleeping the entire night. Instead there's a tiny smile playing on his lips. He's happy she's gotten better.
"If you're feeling good, I'll do the other chores then." He says after a few minutes.
And Mae sits up at that, propping herself on her elbows. "I'll help too, my fever is almost gone-"
"No, you rest," he shushes her off by keeping his hand on her forehead. "Take it easy today."
And truly, Levi doesn't let her lift a finger.
He mops the floor. Cleans the cobwebs on the ceilings. Dusts the shelves.
And Mae watches, stuck to her bed.
Now he's sitting on the carpet, with his back to her. Folding all the freshly laundered clothes.
Guilt gnaws at the bottom of her stomach. He's stepping out for a mission the day after tomorrow. And yet she's making him work so much.
It's him who deserves rest, not her.
"I'm sorry for making you do all of this." her voice comes out timid. Still hoarse from the cough that has accumulated in her throat .
His actions pause, and he thinks for a moment, before answering. "Actually I like it... Makes me think of the type of life we would have if the titans didn't exist...Just the two of us, living together."
And Mae doesn't see the smile on his face as he stares down at the pile of clothes. She thinks it lies he's spouting to make her feel better. After all, who likes doing household chores... she hates them for sure.
And so she gets up from her bed, determined to help. But the mirror attached to the adjacent wall makes her stop in her tracks.
A frown forms as she catches her reflection in the mirror.
Her hair is oily and matted against her scalp. And she's not as toned as Levi in any way. Her thighs touch and her belly is not flat. Insecurities crawl underneath her skin.
"Why don't you date someone like Petra?" She asks, thinking out loud.
"Mae." Levi swivels around to see her. "She's not even an adult. How could you think something like that?" He speaks distastefully.
"But she'll grow up, you know... She's pretty, she's strong, and she's got a good body for sure."
Moisture wells up in her eyes. It's not just the guilt of him doing all the chores, it's something that has been troubling her for long.
And Levi sits baffled. He has no idea where this is coming from.
"It's so hard Levi... dating long distance," she sniffs. Her gaze still doesn't come off from the mirror in front of her. As she stands, so obsessed with finding faults in her. "You would be better off dating someone who's in the Corps. That way they'll at least be there for you when you need them, they can help you with all your work, and every message won't take a week to get delivered."
And Levi is on his feet in an instant. His arms reach out to her, and he pulls her into a hug
"Is it becoming too hard for you? Do you want to end it?" he whispers, masking his own heartbreak at the thought.
"It's hard," she ruminates. "But that's not the problem... The problem is that you deserve better." Her voice breaks, and another tear slips past her eye.
Because she sees all the women in town gawk about Humanity's Strongest and how attractive he must be. And she sees all the children that find their hero in him. She's nothing in comparison.
And one day she does hope to be slightly successful. With her own clinic, and a few regular patients. But for now she's just some doctor at a hospital in town. And her dreams seem so far-fetched.
"Look at me Levi... I'm not the best doctor, I'm not the smartest, and I'm not the prettiest... And you're Humanity's Strongest... Don't you see it? You can do so much better than me."
Their gaze meets in the mirror. And Levi stands stumped as he sees how moist her have turned moist.
He's never compared her with any other person he's met.
"But don't you see it?" He questions as if he's stating out the obvious. "You're the closest thing I have to normalcy." And normal sounds so wonderful to him. She doesn't have to be any more capable, or beautiful, she just has to be.
Of course there must be people who are better than her in many ways. But comfort, warmth, home, these are all words he only attaches to her.
His finger reaches below her chin, and he turns her face away from the mirror. Making her look at him. "You're more than your looks Mae, and you're more than your career... I hope you know that."
And she closes her eyes, as he presses a kiss on the top of her head.
"C-can I sit next to you while you fold those clothes?"
"Yes."
"I-I thought y-you were mad at me":
"Why would I be mad, silly?" He says as he ruffles her hair, making it a bigger mess.
"Don't let such crappy thoughts stuff up your head." He flicks her forehead. The next morning Mae wakes up feeling much better. Her throat still feels sore, and a mild headache still troubles . But there is peace in her heart and Levi in her arms.
That's all that matters.
━━━━━━━━━━━━
The night is young, and Mae and Levi have returned back home from their impromptu dinner date.
The curtains are drawn shut. The hearth is warm, cackling with fire. And Mae sits on the bed, changed into something more comfortable.
She was feeling better, and she really wanted to treat Levi to a good meal, before he leaves tomorrow morning.
Next to her bed is the sketch of her and Levi that she got at the Trost Fair. With her smile so big, it makes her eyes squint. Levi obviously sits with his poker face, and his arms crossed in front of him. But Mae loves the way the painter has colored his cheeks and the tips of his ear, slightly red.
A few minutes pass by, and the gears of the bathroom door shift into place.
The door is nudged open, and Levi slips inside. Fresh from his bath. With his inky wet hair clinging on to his face, and pearls of water still dripping down them.
Mae places the sketch in her hands, on the nightstand and withdraws a bottle of essential oil from the drawer. She raises a brow, slightly shaking the bottle as she gestures to levi.
And Levi feigns a sigh as he ambles over to her, and sits in front of her. With his back to her chest, and his butt positioned in between her legs.
She takes the towel that rests on his shoulder, and gently rubs it on his head. To dry his hair that is still dripping wet.
Mae likes to do all these small things for him, from buttoning the shirt he wears to tying the cravat around his neck. It makes her happy. Like she's being of some help to him.
"Are you using all the oils and seasonings I gave you?" She asks as she tosses the towel aside, and picks up the bottle of oil kept on her nightstand.
She pours some of the essential oil onto her palms Then she slides her oil-slathered fingers through his hair strands
"I try to," Levi mumbles, and his eyes flutter close, as he feels her fingers work their way through his scalp. "Tch, my hair is greasy again now... I hate this so much."
"Levi this is expensive, and Lavender really helps in aiding sleep, so you better shut up and follow the routine I have set for you." She speaks with seriousness. "And you take a shower like 5 times a day anyways."
And Levi knows the only say he has in this matter, is to complain, and then comply. So he closes his eyes, and enjoys the sensation of her fingers running through his hair.
And Mae feels sentimental too. She wants to make time pause.
Because when the sun rises tomorrow morning, Levi will be far away from her. Outside the walls. It's a feeling that she's still not used to. Of not knowing whether this moment she's spending with him will be their last together.
"Levi..." she calls out. "You remember the day when you became Humanity's Strongest... back when I was working in the Survey Corps? ... You came back injured and I was treating you."
Levi hums, in correspondence.
"That day Petra told me, that you fight as if you have nothing to lose.... But now that we're together. Does that change anything? Does that mean that you have something you are scared to lose?"
The question renders Levi quiet for some minutes. Or maybe it's that he knows the answer fully well, but he is just hesitant.
He drums his fingers on to his chin, and after some serious contemplation, he finally answers."You are i-important to me Mae, but you aren't more important than humanity... And I do have something to lose now, but I can't let that change the way I fight.. Because if I start fighting like a person who is scared to lose what he has, then humanity might lose as well, and that is something that everyone fears."
It's the bitter truth, the pill that's hard to swallow. She's fallen in love with a man, who will always keep his duties first.
She slides her arms around his chest, and pulls him closer. His back presses her chest, and she rests her chin on his shoulder. "That's the right decision. After all, I'm just a person."
Her fingers graze across his bare chest, caressing all the scars his battles have given him. The moment is delicate yet heavy with emotions.
And Mae decides that it's time to release the feelings that have consumed her heart since forever.
"I love you Levi." The words are tender, like a kiss on his nape.
He doesn't have to say it back.
He doesn't even have to turn his head and look at her.
Because love is the softness in his eyes when he looks at her. And the sweetness in his emotions when he comes home to her.
And Levi closes his eyes as he relishes the moment. It feels safe here in her arms, like no force in this world can harm him. And for once he doesn't hide the red that settles on his cheek.
"Thank you..." he speaks with a certain heaviness. And a sigh escapes his mouth, as he realizes that his weekend getaway is close to an end. Just a few hours from now he'll be outside the walls
Sometimes he fantasizes about what it would be like if he wasn't in the Survey Corps. Just him and her, living their life as a simple couple.
To divide all the household chores, and cook meals together. To go on dates on the weekend, and to bicker like a couple. Marry her, after a few years and maybe have little versions of him and her run around the house.
It's a far fetched dream, but Levi can't help but indulge in the thought for a couple of minutes.
The Survey Corps, the title of Humanity's Strongest, and the titans outside the walls. He wants to run away from it all. He's strong and no one would be able to track him down.
But the guilt in his mind would haunt him forever.
And it's indeed a curse that such exceptional strength and skill lands on his shoulders. And he wields the responsibilities as Humanity's Strongest soldier. He can't let all the people that look up to him down.
━━━━━━━━━━━━
The weather is dreary today. Heavy gray clouds loom over the sky, like a blanket. And occasional drops of rain fall to the ground. In a light drizzle.
Not many people line the streets, but there's still a small crowd. And they watch wide eyed, as the Survey Corps trot with their horses. Dawned in their olive capes.
Mae stands in the crowd as well, lost . Her height doesn't help much at all. And she tries balancing on her toes, tipping left and right, in the push of the crowd.
"ERWIN DANCHOU, WIN BACK WHAT HUMANITY HAS LOST." Loud cheers erupt.
"LEVI HEICHOU KILL ALL THE TITANS FOR US." The crowd raves, and Mae stands on the sidelines.
Moisture settles in the corner of her eyes as she looks at him longingly.
How can she ask him to not go when everyone is counting on him?
How can she ask him to stop, when he is leaving to serve all of humanity?
She thought this would get easier as the time passed by, but nope.
It's a feeling she still hasn't gotten used to.
Fleetingly, his eyes meet hers. He sees the way they glow, heavy with tears and the way her lips tremble. His gaze softens, almost caressing her with the way he's looking.
He flashes her a small smile, his gaze flickering to the gate and then back to her. To anyone, the action is hardly noticeable, but Mae gets his message loud and clear.
Let me go, will you? He says to her.
The tear caged in her eye falls freely. Her hand flies up and she bears a shaky smile as she waves at him.
The moment is short-lived but etched forever in his heart.
Tumblr media
This chapter may feel like a filler chapter, but I just wanted to talk about how Levi and Mae's relationship is now that they are long distance. And how they are in a relationship as well (before I start getting to the actual AOT plot lol)
It's been a few months now, so Levi is more comfortable initiating physical touch.
I hope their character growth is noticeable, because it isn;t really obvious.
Mae says I love you but doesn't expect it back, and Levi doesn't say it back. That's something that would have crushed Chapter 18 Mae. But now Mae feels secure.
Its kind of rushed but Levi and Mae have grown, understanding each others imperfections better. Mae is more secure, she doesn't need Levi reminding her that he needs her again and again, because she sees his effort
And Levi too is trying to communicate his feelings even though they make him feel weak and vulnerable. (Him saying he's glad he's here). And he's trying to be sweeter when Mae needs sweetness (telling Mae that she's more than her looks and her career).
Let me know your views on the chapter!
As always constructive criticism is also welcomed!
To all the people who keep up with this fic despite all the irregular and late uploads, I am very very grateful to have you! <3
I will see you again with the next chapter! And HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Levi stares through the window of the borrowed room to the city streets below. Soldiers eagerly await news of the current mission, and although his face may not show it, Levi too felt the anticipation gnawing at him. There was so much at stake, and yet here he was, weak from his injury and lacking the energy to even pull gear over his head. He sighs deeply. Never has he felt so hopeless.
A knock at the door interrupted his thought process. Ah, yes. He wasn’t waiting here alone. Hange had instructed a member of their squad to stay behind, to keep Levi from making any rash decisions and to act as his sword if necessary. This soldier, who was now pushing open the door with her elbow, tray of tea in hand, didn’t even take a breath before answering her Section Commander’s wishes. Levi doesn’t remove his gaze from the window, although his mind was now anywhere but the happenings below. She hums as she places the tray down on the table, and he hears the soft sound of liquid hitting the bottom of a teacup. Hange wasn’t stupid, you see. They wouldn’t leave just anyone to watch over Humanities Strongest. Knowing he would protest and scald them for thinking he couldn’t hold his own even with an injury such as his, they chose carefully, wisely, and Levi had no objections, other than a disapproving huff for the Section Commander.
“Tea, captain?” the woman asks softly, kindly, just as she always does, “I asked for your favorite, of course.”
Levi hums in agreement, and then with a quiet please, he hears her place a second cup and saucer down. Still, he doesn’t look in her direction. He finds himself getting lost sometimes, his eyes disobeying the command to turn the other way when it was her in his line of vision. Now he doesn’t trust himself, so instead keeps a steady watch on the restless soldiers below. The teacup comes into view as she places it delicately on the windowsill before him, saying “Drink it while it's hot, captain. You may need it.”
The woman’s name was Y/N Y/L/N, a fellow soldier Levi had known since his days as a cadet. She was a few years younger than him, but not by many, and a grown woman all her own. If it wasn’t for Hange taking an interest in her, Levi would have snatched her up way before Hange got the chance. But something held him back, something that eats at him whenever she’s near, and that was the main reason he hesitated in assigning her. That being said, she had remained a constant in his life, someone he had grown to trust outside of his line of work, mostly because she never gave up chipping away at his steely exterior.
During their training days, she would beg him for help out of hours, despite knowing that being caught after curfew was punishable. He clearly remembers refusing to, but each morning in the mess hall she would be waiting to grab him once more. Eventually, he gave up, announcing he would only help her for one hour per week and that was all he was willing to do. He can still remember the way her eyes lit up, because even to this day, they still do – especially when the praise is falling from his lips.
There was something about her that Levi couldn’t quite shake. Somehow, she had managed to make him give in back then, perhaps the only person to actually score a win against him, and that wasn’t the only time he’s been compelled to say yes. When she joined Hange’s ranks, he would see her most days around headquarters, and each time she would smile, stopping to ask how he was. And each time her eyes shone the same way they did all those years ago. He found himself getting a little lost in the shine of them, removing his gaze from her almost immediately. Y/N had been in his life so long, that he had become accustomed to her company, often choosing to sit by her during meal times and accepting her offer of tea when she came to see how he was in his office.
It was always “How are you, captain? Do you need anything?”
Her visits were never to ask him for something, they were never for her own benefit, it was always just to check on him. At the beginning it had annoyed him, because for crying out loud, he’s a soldier not a child, but eventually it became routine. She would knock on the door, and the tea was already in her hands by the time he had opened it. He began inviting her in, listening to her talk about everything and nothing, and those times of peace became a ritual to Levi. It almost felt wrong when her knock didn’t echo throughout his office at the same time each week.
But it wasn’t just tea and company, it was comfort when she could see through his brave face. Somehow, she could read his giveaways, and then the knock on his office door was much softer on those days. The night after his squad had died, the knock penetrated the silence of the room just after dark, and immediately he knew who it was. Anyone else and he would’ve told them to leave him be.
“Captain,” she had whispered, tears rimming her pretty eyes as they looked into his solemn ones, “I just wanted to see you, I can leave if you wish to be alone.”
But he pulled up a chair beside him.
He told her how he felt.
How the guilt he felt for their death was almost unbearable since it was him who had chosen them. How, once again, his trusted comrades had left him, and now he was alone. Just as before.
It just poured out of him like water, and not a single word left her mouth. In fact, she barely made a move until he had been quiet for some time, and then he felt a steady hand on his shaking one.
“I know it may not be much conciliation for you,” she said softly, so gentle, like the kiss of a feather against his skin, “but I will always be around to listen to you, captain.”
But it was more than she could have ever imagined.
And now she was sitting just behind him, sipping on tea and yet again not speaking because she knew that he didn’t wish to talk right now. No words had told her so, but she just understood him without having to ask, and that was something Levi treasured deeply. He had no idea how to spark a decent conversation. He turned slightly, seeing her from the corner of his eye as he placed the China cup between his lips. She hummed in satisfaction at the taste, and Levi, yet again, found himself looking for far too long.
“Good?” he questions quietly, and she nods.
“Yes,” she answers sweetly, “is it okay for you, captain? If not, I can-”
“It’s perfect,” he cuts her off gently, taking another appreciative sip, “thank you.”
She smiles to herself, a little triumphantly. He finds the corner of his mouth twitching into something similar. Her eyes then meet his, and the smile only grows wider. His chest feels a little lighter when he can see her whole face, like everything going on outside the window is just a bad dream. Levi rises from his chair, but not before she rushes to her feet to help him. He offers a dismissive hand.
“Stay put,” he says softly, “I’m fine, honestly.”
He joins her at the table, just across from where she was sitting. She pushes forward a small plate of plain biscuits.
“You should eat something, captain,” she then says, “you need to build your strength back up. Not that I particularly think you’ve lost any.”
She laughs lightly. Levi has always found pleasure in the sound of her happiness, although it was a fact that he was willing to push down due to his nature. He simply didn’t have time to feel for someone. Caring that deeply for someone would only make his job harder; so, for the last many years, he has convinced himself that this woman was nothing special.
He knows, really, how foolish that was.
Because she was special, and sitting here, after losing so much in such a short time, he had been thinking long and hard through the glass pane of that window. He was wasting precious time with her, time that could be limited due to their jobs. He watches as she takes another sip, her painted fingernails, silky lips and soft, y/c/h hair. He wonders how she finds the time to look so elegant, but then again, he’s never known her to not look so. Even out in the field, he thinks she’s a stunning creature, and for the first time, he allows himself to believe it. He breaks the comfortable silence, pulling her from her own thoughts.
“We’ve known each other for quite some time, haven't we?”
When she looks up his eyes are pointed towards the teacup before him. She smiles yet again, a soft chuckle falling from her lips, and his gaze is drawn to her face.
“I’d say so,” she says, “but, in all honesty, sir, I wouldn’t be sitting before you if it wasn’t for your time and patience back then. I don’t think I’ve thanked you for a long while.”
“No need to,” he responds quickly, “I made the choice to help you, and now I’m glad I did. Made a fine soldier out of that little thing you once were, didn’t I?”
Her cheeks tint a subtle shade of pink, and her eyes are averted from his calm stare. She seems to have gone inside herself from that comment, and the little spark he suppresses in his chest seems to burn hotter upon the sight of it.
“I owe you a lot, sir,” she then speaks quieter, still refusing to meet his eyes, “after losing so many people I often wonder if I should still be here-”
“Don’t,” he says firmly, and her head shoots up, eyes wide like a deer in headlights. It wasn’t as if she wasn’t used to his stern tone, but it never makes it any easier to hear, “you are here because you have earned to be. What I taught you back then wouldn’t save you now. You have learnt the hardships of battle on your own back. No one can teach you like sheer adrenaline in the face of death.”
The soft eyes he has come to know turn into glittering determination. The same look that made him give in all those years ago, and upon seeing her true will to keep fighting, he couldn't help but train such a promising young woman. The world needed a soul as strong as hers, not only for battle, but for the unlimited compassion she was able to give.
“Thank you, sir.”
“And what's with the formalities all these years, hm?” he raises an eyebrow, “doesn't seem that long ago when you used to call me by my name.”
“Well, it just doesn’t feel right now, sir,” she goes on to say, fiddling with the handle of her teacup, “since you are my superior, we are no longer on equal footing. It would be wrong for me to address you so casually.”
“Equal footing, huh?” he repeats quietly, taking a sip of the tea that was now growing cold, “not sure how I feel about that sentiment.”
“But, sir-”
“Is it not you who has remained a constant in my life?” he interrupts, an air of utter seriousness about him, and she doesn’t dare to even move a muscle, “is it not you who graduated by my side in the cadets? Or you who has managed to, somehow, find a way into my personal space without repercussion?”
Still, she doesn’t move, but her eyes are full and staring at him, shining behind a glossing layer of tears. He takes a deep breath.
“What I'm trying to say is,” he then lowers his tone and leans slightly on the table to get closer to her. His eyes meet hers, and she sees the man she has always looked up to and, over the years, grown to love unconditionally, “this world has truly gone to shit, and a lot of people I care about are dead,” he cuts to the point, and ever so quietly, he hears a tiny whimper from her lips, “but you, you’re still here, bringing me tea like someone asked you to, listening to my whining, never turning away even though I’m a closed off bastard,” a light puff of air escapes her nose and the ghost of a smile curls at her soft looking lips, “and I’m grateful, eternally and wholeheartedly grateful.”
“Captain-”
“No,” he cuts her off, “not anymore. Say my name. Like you used to.”
Maybe it was selfish of him to ask that of her, but he was dying to hear it. A lot of time had gone and passed since she addressed him that way, and memories of her whinging and moaning when her muscles ached and the dragged-out Levi that would tumble from her mouth started flooding back.
“Levi,” she then whispers, and the small spark that was gradually getting hotter and brighter in his chest erupts, sending a wave of warmth over his entire body.
“Y/N,” he then returns, and its soft, delicate, full of adoration. She smiles a watery smile, and then reaches out, but not before she awaits his consent. He finishes the job for her, taking her hand like it was made of glass and placing her palm against his cheek. He feels her thumb brush his face, and for a moment he lets go. He breathes out in content, closes his eyes and relishes in the touch of the woman he has come to cherish.
And although it may never leave his mouth, he loved her.
He loved her like he reads about in books, how the world seems happier, brighter, more vibrant and fruitful when the person you love is standing in it. How the bad times are just times that are bad, and they will pass, and left behind will be the one person who holds you up when your legs are too tired, when the world is cruel and the tunnel seems to drag on forever.
But he sees now. At the end of that tunnel, is her.
At the end of the treacherousness will be her.
“Levi,” she sounds again, and he hums in response, almost like he’s falling asleep against her hand, “we should head back to the wagon soon.”
“Nah,” he whispers, “if they want me, they can come and get me.”
He doesn’t open his eyes, and he hears the most delightful giggle from her chest. He then feels her other hand touch his face, cupping it like he’s never done any wrong in the world. And, when he opens his eyes into hers, the look she gives him is the same. She looks at him like he’s never raised a blade, never stolen, hurt or deceived other people. Like he’s new again, and he realizes, she has always seen him that way. Right from the very beginning.
All she has ever seen is a person.
“Alright, then,” she says softly, “I’ll go and get more tea, and something more substantial for you to eat. I’ll be right back.”
She goes to move, but his hands take her wrists gently. If he lets go, will she return? Just like she has all these years. From the look on his face, she can tell he has begun to overthink, so quickly quells his anguish with a swift, precious kiss to his knuckles.
"Just a few moments,” she tells him, and then she’s gone, through the door with a soft click. He watches the doorway she left through, and for the first time in his entire life, his heart feels full and the weight he bares on his shoulders isn't so heavy.
Because she’s willing to carry half of it.
And as he turns to look back through the window to the outside world, it doesn’t seem so sullen anymore. The sun was shining down and casting shadows across the buildings, birds were chirping, the sound of a laughing soldier echos up through the glass panes, and he thinks to himself, as long as she remains the constant in his life, it doesn’t matter what's waiting over the brow of the hill, because wherever they are, near or apart, they will always find their way back to each other.
Like destined souls, fate keeps them together, and as he hears the door click back open, he prays that every time she leaves, he will hear her turn the handle in return.

That type of sex with Levi where all he wants to do is show you how much he cares about you. It isn't too soft or too rough, it's perfect. His hips move at a passionate pace, making sure you feel all of his length, he indulges in the way you feel.
That type of sex with Levi where his soft touches come at the right moment, he is fucking you harder, his cock slamming into you faster but his lips gently kiss your inner wrist, his eyes never leaving your face. He places kisses on your forehead, your neck and they are all gentle, a reassurance that no matter how harsh he is on you, he loves you.
That type of sex with Levi where he finds himself pulling your body closer to his, his skin against yours, he wants to feel your heartbeat against his. His hands are tracing your spine as his cock pushes deeper into your pussy, you're pressed firmly against him, your forehead resting against his own.
That type of sex with Levi where he praises you during it. His voice is husky and deep but the words leaving his mouth are meant. "Good girl, you're taking me so well." He mumbles against your breasts as he bites into the plush skin. "You're so fucking pretty like this." His hands find themselves in yours, interlocking your fingers together. You start to move your hips too, pushing his cock deeper into you. "Atta girl, fuck yourself on my cock, give it all to me."
That type of sex with Levi where he switches the position multiple times because he craves to have you in every possible way. You're rolling your hips into his lap, your hand gripping his shoulders tight, nails digging into his muscles but all Levi focuses on is how good and warm you feel around him, how perfectly he fits inside of you. His hands grip your hips, controlling the pace just before he picks you up, his cock still inside of you. He presses your back to the wall, his teeth sink into your neck as he fucks you. When you tell him to go harder, you bet believe he does, anything to make you squirm in pleasure.
That type of sex with Levi where he would use his hands to explore your body, he knows it like an open book and is still afraid that he won't memorize every single flaw on your skin. His hands run up and down your thighs when they wrap around him tightly, they grip onto your breasts to add more pleasure. They explore your lower abdomen, pressing into your lower belly where you will feel him twice as much, your eyes roll back, a louder moan escaping your lips. His hands wrap around your neck, not enough to choke you but enough for you to feel it only slightly to let you know that he is still in control, then they run down to your hips lifting them up so that he can fuck you better, make you cum better.
That type of sex with Levi where making you cum once isn't enough for him, when he feels you cum around his cock he pulls out and spreads your legs, his tongue is immediately exploring your wet folds, the whimpers leaving your mouth just add to his enjoyment. You have just cum and here he is making your thighs shake all over again but it's with his mouth this time. He sucks on your clit holding your hips down, not allowing you to move around too much and when you cum, arching your back and screaming his name, he knows then that he still hasn't had enough.
That type of sex with Levi where he slows down when he is close, he doesn't want it to end just yet, he wants to feel your wetness around him, wants to feel how you were made just for him. "Fuck, baby....fuck let me cum in my pussy.." Levi holds onto your hair, you're face down, your ass up, giving him a perfect view, he leans in and kisses your back, leaving a mark on your skin as his cock twitches inside of you. You cum first, gripping the sheets tightly with your hands, Levi follows, filling you up with cum.

Tumblr media
you walk into the room, frowning at the sight of your lover still behind his desk, bent over the parchment. light shadows his face, sparkling over him like a candle, illuminating him in a yellow hue. he’s so beautiful, and you ache for him. the desperation inside of you only grows, even though it is dually coated in worry.
“levi?” you say, lips drawn down as you approach, blinking away your sleepiness. “why are you still working?”
it’s nearly three in the morning; the bed was cold and empty when you left, and the middle of winter was unforgiving. though levi didn’t sleep often, he, at least, made an effort to when you were at his side. tonight, though, it seems he’s given up on the matter, scribbling notes on the paperwork instead.
“i have to finish this by tomorrow,” levi says, dismissive, not even bothering to glance up.
your frown deepens, and you repeat his name, softer as you come around the side of the desk. you’d woken up so desperate for him, and when he was not there to coax an orgasm out of you, you’d tried to take on the task yourself.
though, your fingers didn’t feel as nice as his did, hadn’t reached the places inside of you that his cock could. and, you craved it, craved him so much that you hadn’t been able to go back to sleep.
“come back to bed,” you mutter, but even then, you can hear the desperation in your voice, the subtle tone that it takes on whenever you want him badly.
his writing stops. he turns back to you, eyes hardening as you place a gentle hand on his shoulder. you run your soft fingertips along the juncture between his neck and jaw, batting your eyelashes at him so sweetly.
there’s a dark look in his irises that you pick up on easily, but you can’t tell if he’s irritated with you, or if it’s the lust that is spreading in the ocean of his eyes. his jaw sets, and his normally straight mouth draws tighter. “i have to finish this.”
“can i stay here, then?”
he sticks his tongue into the side of his cheek. “i’m—”
you can already hear his protest, how he’ll say your name so softly in an apology, kiss you on the lips before sending you back to your shared room. but you’re determined to get your way tonight, and you can feel the wetness gathering between your legs, the ache still thrumming through your body.
“want you inside me, levi,” you say softly, almost begging as you lean down to whisper into his ear. “please.”
levi stops, eyeing you with the intensity that he faces with everyone, an intensity that doesn’t always soften for you. still, by now, you’re used to it — find it endearing, really, how serious he can be.
“you going to be a distraction?” levi scans your face.
you jut your lower lip out just a bit, almost pouting, “no,” you promise. “just want to feel you.”
for a moment, he considers, before finally relenting. levi sighs, then pulls back the chair, his strong thighs on display as you maneuver yourself onto his lap. even the brief feeling of his knee against your clothed cunt sends a sharp whimper through you.
“you can’t move. i’ve put this off for long enough.”
“since when did you care about any of that?” you ask, yawning as you slip your pants off your hips. “i thought hange did the paperwork, anyway.”
“if only.” he gives you a pointed look, tracing your jaw with his thumb. “just sit still.”
levi focuses his attention back on the paperwork, and when you spare a brief glance at it, you notice that it’s reports from the past few missions. for the government in the interior, assigned specifically to captain levi.
you refrain from a sarcastic remark, and instead, slide levi’s zipper down, waiting for any reaction. he gives you none, signs his name on the bottom line, and flips the parchment over.
“levi,” you start, but he shushes you again, kissing your cheek dismissively.
“no talking.”
“you’re so rude.”
he raises his eyebrow, but you slide his cock out of his pants, warming it in your palm. a soft little sigh leaves him as you stroke him until he’s hard, but he schools his expression into a neutral position, leaning back in the chair.
you’re naked from the waist down, but he doesn’t seem to care. with something of a frown, you slip his cock inside you and sink your hips down. your fingers dig into his shoulders as you move, sliding right into him.
levi’s dark eyes dart towards you. “shit,” he gasps, his other hand holding onto your hips. “why are you so wet already?”
a small whimper leaves you as he fills you up, stretches your walls, as you settle onto his cock. though it feels so good, you squeeze his arms and try not to move. “you weren’t there when i woke up,” you say, resting your head on his shoulder and pressing a kiss to the space between his neck. “so i tried to take care of it myself.”
levi’s eyes flash. “dirty girl.” his voice is deeper, a rumble that you feel in his chest. “couldn’t help but touch yourself to the thought of me when i wasn’t there, hm? but i bet your fingers weren’t enough, were they?”
you exhale deeply, shaking with the need to move as your walls flutter around him. “levi.”
“needed my cock inside you instead, didn’t you, love? probably would’ve begged me to fuck you until you were tired enough to fall back asleep.”
“god, levi, please.” you start, and you shift your hips once. your clit rubs right against him, his long cock settling inside you as a heavy moan almost escapes. instead, you bite down hard on his neck; but levi forces you down even harder on his lap, his eyes relentless.
“i told you not to move, didn’t i?”
you blink back at him, but his face is serious, hardened lines stretching from each angle of his face. and though you want fuck yourself on his dick, and every atom in your being tells you to do so, you listen to him. somehow, you refrain from shifting your hips again.
sitting still, you bury your face into his neck and heave a great sigh, brushing the delicate skin beneath his jaw.
“good girl,” levi says flippantly, his long, slender finger grazing up your spine. the simple words alone send a pulse straight through your body, and you whimper against him, your cunt squeezing tighter, wet from the deep intonation of his voice.
levi says nothing else, but you can feel his smirk as he kisses your temple. he never fails to remind you how precious you are to him, even when he is a bit short with you. and even though he is never the best about telling you how much he loves you, his affections run deep.
he plays with the end of your hair, soothingly, and though you can’t ignore him deep inside you, it almost lulls you back into a peaceful sleep.
after what feels like hours of subtle torture, you speak again.
“levi,” you hum against his throat, when he flips another page, signing his name on the dotted line. “i love you so much.”
his hand stills on your back, fingers tapping once against your spine before resuming. it’s still difficult for him to repeat the words, but you know it’s only out of his fear that you will one day be taken away from him. levi squeezes your hip once more, huffs, and sets the pen down.
“i’m certain you know how much you mean to me,” levi returns, pulling you away from his neck so that you’re able to face him once again. “you’re supposed to be being quiet.”
his face is stern, but his eyes are anything but; soft and loving. levi’s cheeks are flushed red, and though he is strong — the strongest — that alone is not enough to combat how he feels when he’s inside you. it brings a small, knowing smile to your face.
“i was being sweet,” you say, sleepily, testing your luck by lifting your hips and settling them once more. the feeling is more intense than you’d expected, and a little moan escapes your mouth, lips parting softly. “i do love you.”
“i’m certain you’re just trying to butter me up,” levi’s mouth is against your own, the words leaving on a shaky breath, tickling your skin. “so you can get what you want.”
you laugh, fanning your fingertips against his cheeks. “is it working?”
levi spares you one more hardened expression, tightly drawing his mouth together, before he’s lifting you, shifting you onto the desk, your back pressed against the papers. “unfortunately,” he grunts, kissing all over your face before he threads his fingers with your own. “god. the things you do to me. can’t think straight.”
he thrusts up into you, hard, and you close your eyes, kissing him, much more slowly than the pace he sets with his hips. levi squeezes your palm tightly, the other roaming across your chest, your stomach, before settling at your hips. “you’re everything to me, you know? my beautiful girl. don’t know what i’d do without you.”
you smile against his mouth and tug at his hair with your free hand, feeling the soft tendrils between your fingers. it’s ironic, that he thinks you’re beautiful, when you’re certain he’s the most angelic creature you’ve ever seen. “i’m not going anywhere, levi. i promise.”
levi speeds up, involuntarily, eyes so intense as he watches every subtle change of your expression. but you are too sleepy to do much but breathe into his mouth, soft little moans that have levi thrusting into you twice as hard.
it doesn’t take long for him to coax the first orgasm out of you, and you’re barely able to whisper his name before you clench around him, squeezing the palm that’s still locked within your own.
levi smiles, but it’s snarky, a mix between satisfaction and annoyance. “looks like you got your way after all.”
you laugh, breathless, kissing across his cheeks as he grows sloppy, chest heaving with the weight of his exhales. though levi wants to pin this all on you, you can tell that he needs to relax too. the past few hours without a moment of sleep, doing nothing but paperwork, have taken a toll on him.
“must be so hard for you, huh?” you tease, eyelashes fluttering closed as you lean against him, letting your forehead drop to his shoulder. “getting to fuck me on a desk like this. what a chore.”
“you shouldn’t talk to your captain like that,” levi teases, but he groans out the last few words, cheeks flushed from how close he is. lazily, your fingers run across his chest, and though a second orgasm is steadily building, you want to watch him come apart first.
“perhaps,” you say, smiling as you kiss his chest, your hair tickling the bottom of his jaw. “but i’m not talking to my captain, i’m talking to you, levi.” you lean back up to kiss him, once, again, just the softest brush of your lips. “and i want you to cum inside me.”
levi’s eyes flash, and you can see the moment that he unravels, the next few seconds where his movements get erratic. then, his features change, plump bottom lip separating from the top one. the look in his eyes grows distant, and his stomach flexes, abs tightening, before the heat of his cum shoots inside of you.
levi topples onto you, his chest landing on yours as you fall back onto the desk. his cock finally slips out of you.
“shit,” levi says, running his hands along your thighs, sweaty skin sticking to each other. “we’re going to ruin the papers.”
“who cares,” you yawn, rubbing your eyes before encircling levi’s neck with your arms. “the military police can deal with the mess.”
“you’re disgusting.”
“they’d probably get off on it, don’t you think? the interior is full of hedonists anyway.”
levi snorts. “maybe. but i prefer not to think about how they spend their free time.”
you laugh again, just a breath of air, and settle against him. levi is warm, his arms are strong, and he smells clean; a mix of soap and the sweet fragrant of citrus. he holds you so gently, despite all of the hardness that lingers in his body. you’ve never known anyone to feel so much like home.
“will you come to bed now?” you ask sleepily. “i don’t want to go to sleep alone.”
levi softens, and he traces your cheekbone with his thumb, as best he can at the awkward angle. “sure, love. i should get some rest anyway.”

Levi’s hands never leave your belly the moment you start showing.
When you wake up in the morning, he’s curled behind you, one hand tucked under the pillow beneath your head while the other is still resting over your growing stomach, just where he left it when he fell asleep the night before.
If you’re making breakfast, he’s coming behind you and wrapping his hands around your middle when he gives you a kiss.
In the evenings when you’re cuddled together on the sofa, he rubs your stomach absentmindedly. Somehow his fingers always sneak under the hem of your shirt and trail lazy circles over your skin, even as his attention seems occupied by whatever television show you’re watching or a book he’s reading.
He absolutely loves rubbing on your stretch mark cream for you too. Before bed, he’s sat between your thighs with a concentrated pinch on his face, hands gentle and slow as he applies and massages in the balm on your thighs, stomach, and chest.

Growing up, the forest's edge always darkened the far corner of your small village. The giant, twisted branches overhead rendered the forest floor a terrifying, pitch black. You shouldn't be here. There's creatures here, dangerous ones.

"Levi Heichou!" You called out, excited to see your lover appear before you.
"Tch, I told you so many times before to drop the shitty title, we're no longer in the Corps anymore," Levi rolled his eye—his good one—as he approached you. His hair was neatly combed back, his fedora in his lap. Levi was wearing a simple white button shirt with black long pants. His hair had grown longer; his fringe now growing past his eye. You missed how he used to keep his hair short, but you loved how nice Levi looked with longer hair too.
You looked hard at Levi, studying every line and wrinkle you see, and the barely visible strands of grey on his ebony hair. Years of fighting on the front line had taken a toll on his body more than you liked, even though he claimed it didn't really affect him much since he had the Ackerman bloodline.
Although the war ended, you knew Levi still wasn't at peace. You could tell he was restless, he didn't like being cooped up at home. His eyes didn't seem to have life in them like they used to, and he just seemed so sluggish all the time. You knew Levi wasn't sleeping well too; sometimes the ache in his knee woke him up, and sometimes, it was the demons Levi were fighting in his head. Levi didn't say it, but you knew he missed the old life, the one where he spent half his life fighting for a cause he believed in, and now that he fulfilled his mission, his life felt aimless; he didn't know what to do, and what to continue living for.
It took you a long while to convince Levi to even agree to step out of the house and go on this picnic date, and deep down, you knew you had to make every minute out with him worthwhile.
"What are you staring at?" Levi's voice brought you back to the present, "thinking of something?"
"Nah, I'm just thinking of asking Mikasa to send me some of those pearl eye cream from Hizuru. You know, the one Lady Kiyomi sent her for her birthday?" you answered, bringing a pair of shoes and putting them on for Levi, "I heard they're good for reducing wrinkles, especially around the eyes."
Levi's eye narrowed. "Oi. Are you saying—"
"Did Big Sister y/n just call Uncle Levi old?!" A high pitched voice came from the kitchen, and you felt an impact around your midsection. A few moments later, a head of blonde hair appeared by your side too. "Big Sister y/n just said Uncle Levi has wri—"
"Gabi! Shush—" Falco covered Gabi's mouth while she tried to wiggle herself free. You giggled and glanced at Levi who was eyeing the three of you, and quickly tried to separate the younger ones.
"Oi. You brats. Ganging up on me now?" Levi crossed his arms, looking utterly displeased. Falco continued covering Gabi's mouth while she tried to stomp on his foot.
"Of course not, Levi, we wouldn't dare to offend our elders do we, kids?" You joked, earning another stare from Levi. Before he could say anything, you quickly ran into the kitchen with Gabi and Falco.
"Big Sister y/n!!! Did you see Uncle Levi's face when you talked about wrinkles?" Gabi laughed while Falco appeared with a picnic basket in tow.
"Shut up, Gabi! Uncle Levi and Big Sister are late for their date already, stop disturbing them!" Falco sighed and tried to pull Gabi away, "here, Big Sister, I hope you and Uncle Levi have lots of fun today!"
You nodded and waved the kids goodbye and went outside, looking again at Levi who still had his arms across his chest. Onyankopon was right behind Levi, giving you a smile.
"Come on brat, let's go." Levi rolled his eye again as you passed the picnic basket to Onyankopon. Pushing Levi's wheelchair, Onyankopon told you to wait by the pavement as he went to drive the car over.
"... do I really have wrinkles?" Levi muttered once Onyankopon left. You snorted and tried to hide it with a small cough.
"Hmm… well… I mean, uh… your crow's feet do seem to be… uh—"
"Fine. Enough." Onyankopon arrived and Levi dismissed you, clearly knowing the answer in his heart. You giggled as he came out to help Levi up into the car while you kept his wheelchair in the boot.
"The weather today is lovely," Onyankopon smiled as he began driving, "it's a good day to be out in the sun."
"And yet, she still does not want to tell me what we're doing today."
"You'll find out later." You chuckled again holding Levi's hand, watching the scenery outside pass by. You sought help from Onyankopon and the kids weeks ago to look for nice picnic spots in Marley. With the spring breeze flowing and the flowers blooming, you thought it would be a perfect opportunity to spend undisturbed time with Levi. You thought a change of scenery might do him some good too; to help him out of this depressive state. After another quarter, Onyankopon stopped the car near the park and went to take Levi's wheelchair out.
"I'll pick you two up at eight, is that okay, y/n?" You checked your watch and it was a little past four. You nodded your head and thanked Onyankopon before taking the picnic basket and another bag from the front seat. Placing the picnic basket on Levi's lap, you helped him put on his fedora and his eye patch before wheeling him ahead.
"So, are you going to tell me why we are here in this godforsaken place?" Levi questioned you again as you began pushing him on a stony path.
"I'm taking you out on a date, obviously." You teased him again as you suddenly pushed him faster, causing his fedora to nearly fly away. Levi tutted angrily and said you should never be allowed to push his wheelchair again.
A few moments later, you and Levi arrived at a shop offering bicycles for rent. You paid the shopkeeper some money and then he rode a quadricycle over. You took the picnic basket and bag from Levi's lap and placed it in the front seats of the quadricycle. Once more, Levi gave you a look of confusion.
"Well, up now, I rented this for the day," you gestured. Levi awkwardly looked away, subconsciously placing his hand on his bad knee and grimaced, knowing that you of all people should know how he wasn't like before. What were you thinking, making him cycle when you knew it was going to be hard for him?
"Come on, Levi, stop depending on that wheelchair. You have to prevent your knee from becoming worse, right?" You smiled encouragingly, offering your hand out. You had expected that Levi would be unhappy, but you likewise knew that you shouldn't treat him differently from before. Whether or not he was Levi Heichou of the Survey Corps, or now as Levi the war veteran, he was still Levi—the Levi you loved. Whether he had physical disabilities or not, Levi was still the man you want to spend the rest of eternity with. You didn't want to push him, you wanted Levi to get out of this self-pitying state himself. After a long while, Levi held your hand and pushed himself up from the wheelchair. Slowly but steadily, you guided Levi up on the seat of the quadricycle, placing his feet on the pedals.
"W-wait. What about the wheel—"
"Don't worry, sir, your item will be safely kept here." The shopkeeper kindly replied and Levi seemed to relax a little. It was hard trying to move around without the wheelchair, but maybe you were right. He should try to depend on it less. "We'll close at around 10pm, so please remember to come by before then." The both of you nodded and you took your seat on the left. Looking at Levi, you gave him another smile and asked if he was ready. You could see Levi massaging his knee again. Levi took a deep breath and sighed, telling you to start pedalling.
It was hard at first, but Levi gradually got used to the momentum again. The both of you kept your pace slow, taking your time to enjoy the scenery passing by, the sound of birds chirping, and the gentle rustling of leaves. The sun was obscured by the clouds and there wasn't much of a crowd as well. You saw Levi's face relax gradually, the crease on his forehead slowly disappearing. Levi seemed to be more at ease with paddling on the quadricycle as well. You smiled to yourself. Bringing Levi out was indeed doing him well.
"Are you doing okay?" You checked in with your lover, making sure he wasn't overexerting himself. After he gave you a nod, you pointed to a large shady tree about 200 metres away, telling Levi that it was the next stop. Reaching the tree, you told Levi to remain seated first.
"Are you up for a walk?"
"... Hah?"
"A walk, Levi. Let's go for a walk."
"N-no, I don't think I can—"
"We'll walk slowly. Forget about the walking stick. You don't need it, I'm here."
Levi looked hard at you, face remaining emotionless. The frown on Levi's face became more and more evident as the seconds passed. You continued to stare right into Levi's eye, your resolve unwavering. A few seconds later, Levi broke eye contact and sighed again before reaching out his hand towards your direction.
"You better not make me regret this," Levi muttered under his breath, "you're forcing a crippled man to walk when you jolly well know he can't." You rolled your eyes.
"First off, Levi"—you took his hand and slowly guided him down the quadricycle—"you're not crippled. Secondly, you walk fine. Thirdly, think of this as rehabilitation, hmm? And lastly, stop complaining like an old man." You stood on Levi's right side and interlocked your arm with his, making sure he wasn't putting too much pressure on his knee.
"Where are we going?"
"Not far. We're just going to that small pond over there," you pointed towards a pond just in front, "let's go and feed some ducks." Levi scoffed hearing you.
"As long as they keep their feathers and shit to themselves."
The walk to the small pond was slow but pleasant. The heat from the sun was warm against your skin, the scent of the earth was refreshing. Levi held on to his fedora as the wind blew gently, and the sound of the grass and gravel crunching underneath your feet was playing like a contrasting melody. Once you two reached the pond, you opened your sling bag and took out a slice of white bread. Levi raised his eyebrow slightly.
"These are stale bread from a week ago." You chuckled before tearing it into half, passing one to Levi. You further tore your half into more tiny pieces before throwing them little by little into the pond. Some of the ducks in the pond started waddling over. Several tortoises also popped their heads above the water. There were also fishes fighting amongst themselves for the last few pieces. Levi looked at you before tearing the bread in his hand, scattering them all across the pond. The fishes and ducks dispersed and finished all those pieces of bread within the next minute.
"Do you have more bread on you?" Levi asked as he finished scattering the last few pieces of bread in his hand. You laughed and took out a few more slices.
"Maybe we can go to the pier next time," you commented once those hungry birds finished all the bread in your bag, "we should try feeding the seagulls." Levi scoffed again and let you hold on to his elbow.
"Tch. And have them shit on our heads? No."
The both of you began walking back to the quadricycle. Reaching into another bag, you took out a small paper kite. Levi raised his eyebrow again.
"Do you like it? I had Gabi and Falco do it together with me." You smiled and flipped the kite over, letting Levi see the doodles they did. Levi smirked when he realised who the five blobs of colour drawn on the kite were. You held onto the string and passed Levi the kite, telling him to lift the kite above his head while you moved back.
"OKAY, LEVI, THROW THE KITE HIGH AFTER I COUNT TO THREE!" You shouted and Levi gave you the thumbs up. After counting to three, Levi threw the kite high and you jogged backwards, pulling the string up to get the kite into the sky. Releasing the string bit by bit, Levi slowly made his way to your side as the kite now started flying a short distance away. You gave Levi a smile and tied the string around the tree trunk before going to the quadricycle, taking out the picnic basket and setting the mat.
"Now… let's see what the kids made for our picnic." You rubbed your palms together excitedly and opened the basket. You took out a container of hot stew, some freshly baked sourdough bread, cheese, mushroom quiche, and a small container of fruits too. You arranged the food on the mat and took out the bowls, cutlery, and a few serviettes. Pouring some stew into the small bowl, you passed it to Levi's left before giving him the spoon.
"It seems pretty decent," Levi uttered as he took a spoonful of stew and eyed you, "are you sure they did it all on their own?" You ate some stew and nodded.
"Well, Onyankopon did give them pointers, and I was the one who gave them the recipes, but yeah. The kids made it all by themselves. Not bad, huh? Maybe we should let them open a small food stall along the streets." you took another few mouthfuls of stew, "it's time for them to contribute to the household finances." Levi tutted angrily instead.
"They're too young to be doing shit like that, you brat. Don't be ridiculous."
You giggled, cutting some mushroom quiche for Levi. "I'm joking. Of course I wouldn't let Falco and Gabi do something like that. " The crease on Levi's forehead disappeared again as he ate, passing you his bowl for more stew. Levi and you took your time savouring the good food prepared by the two kids. It was pretty decent, and indeed you were secretly thinking of letting them open a small food business once they are of age.
Once all the food was finished, you told Levi to pack everything fast. Bewildered, Levi didn't say anything, yet he wondered what you were up to again. You got Levi up onto the quadricycle again and told him that there was one place you wanted to bring him. Stopping the quadricycle, you helped Levi down and laced your arm around his again, walking him to some benches ahead. The park was located right next to the sea, and it was pretty empty, just the way you hoped.
"Come on," you muttered as you helped him down, walking towards the bench, "we're just in time."
"For what?"
"You'll see."
Taking your seats on the bench, you checked your watch before glancing ahead again, looking at the dispersing clouds. Before long, the sun started to set, painting the sky a beautiful hue of red, orange, and yellow. You could feel Levi let out a breath he didn't know he was holding, and you grabbed his hand, feeling your fingers interlock. The both of you continued to stare silently at the magnificent view ahead, watching the sun descend lower and lower, listening to the waves crashing on the shore, feeling the wind blowing against your skin. You could feel Levi's calloused fingers caressing your knuckles, and the familiarity tickled something in your memory.
"Brings back memories, huh, Heichou," you peeked at Levi, seeing him trying to hide a small smile as well, "we used to do this all the time." Levi hummed in agreement, keeping his eye on the sunset instead.
"I still think the view from the top of the walls were nicer though"—you let go of Levi's hand and stretched your hands—"it was higher, more windy, less obstruction, and more—"
"And more dangerous," Levi frowned as he interjected. You laughed once more, closing your eyes to feel the wind in your hair again. You thought back to the reason why you decided to bring Levi out today, and even though you knew it might make him unhappy, you also knew you had to talk to him about it. Minutes later, the sun had already gone below the horizon, and the sky was gradually getting darker as well. Soon, the lamps nearby slowly started lighting up.
"Say, Levi," you broke the silence once more and Levi hummed in acknowledgement again, "do you… miss the old days?"
"... why'd you ask?"
"I miss those days too, you know. I miss all our friends and comrades too. Every single one of them. Every day."
Levi didn't say a word. You guessed he was probably upset. Yet, you took a deep breath and decided to just tell him the words on your mind.
"I know it's not easy for you to, I don't know, adapt to a normal life again seeing how you've been in the Corps for nearly half your life. B-but, I just don't want to see you wallowing in self-pity, okay? It hurts me to see you like this.
"I don't care whether or not you have missing eyes and fingers, I don't care if you have to be in a wheelchair forever. I'll gladly feed your meals and bathe you, I'll wear your shoes for you and I'll push you wherever you want to go. We'll hunt around Marley to look for beautiful spots to watch the sunset and the stars. I love you for who you are, and that will never change. Falco and Gabi love their Uncle Levi too. So, j-just, don't give up, okay?"
"Who said anything about giving up?" Levi turned to you, a look of annoyance appeared on his face.
"W-well, I don't know, you're always looking so listless, and you're not eating and sleeping well. I haven't seen you smile in a long time. And once I saw you staring at the mirror looking like you're abo—"
"Hey, hey, stop it, okay? Stop worrying. I'm fine. Really." Levi held your hand and gave you a squeeze. "I'm fine. I'm dealing with it, okay? It's, it's j-just—I'm—"
"Shh. It's okay. I get it. I get you." you hushed him, gently holding him close. You didn't need to see Levi's face to know that he was probably going to tear up, a side of him that will never be seen by anyone else; anyone except you. "Everything will be alright, I promise you. I won't leave you. I'll be by your side."
The both of you remained in each other's embrace, letting your hug do the talking. Patting Levi's back rhythmically, you heard him let out a long sigh before pulling you even closer, tightening his grip around your waist as he buried his head in the crook of your shoulder. You didn't feel the need to ask Levi what he was thinking about, and likewise, Levi knew you wouldn't ask him about it. After a long while, Levi finally loosened his grip around you. The moon was hanging high in the sky and the wind was getting colder. The stars shone like little specks of glitter in the ink-coloured sky.
"Feeling better?"
"Y-yeah, better," Levi hastily wiped the remnants of tears from his cheek, "thank y-yo—
—you interrupted Levi mid-sentence with a soft kiss.
"I love you, Levi. Always remember that. Hmm? I mean it." you gave him another small smile before stroking his cheek, pressing another fleeting kiss on his chapped lips. Levi's larger hand cupped yours as he kissed you back, feeling like time around him stopped, and nothing else in the world mattered. The feeling of your lips on his, the coldness of your cheeks, the warmth from your body; they were real, and a reminder that he was still here, and he was still alive.
Levi broke the kiss first, struggling to find the right words to say while he looked at you. Chuckling, you gave him another smile and mouthed it's okay once more. Levi was never good with words and he was never a good talker, but it never bothered you anyway. Levi gave you an appreciative look while you looked at your watch.
"Come on, Levi. Let's get back to the bicycle shop."
Helping Levi on his feet, you guided him up the quadricycle and the both of you slowly cycled back to the shop. Thanking the shopkeeper for keeping Levi's wheelchair safe, you opened it and gestured to Levi to take his seat, yet Levi shook his head instead.
"Let's walk to the main entrance. There's still time, right?" Levi offered to hold the picnic basket and kite while another hand held your arm for support. You tried to hide your smile as you both walked, listening to the owls hooting in the far distance. Onyankopon's car was already waiting outside by the time you reached the entrance. Seeing Levi walking next to you, a wide smile broke across Onyankopon's face as well.
The journey back home was quiet, yet Levi felt like the weight had been finally lifted off his shoulders. You held on to Levi's hand as he laid on your shoulder, drifting somewhere between sleep and consciousness. Levi knew his road to recovery would not be an easy one. But with you by his side, it was like he found his wings of freedom once more. And for the first time in a long while, Levi went to sleep with a smile.
