regarding the future of the blog, i think it's a great idea to use it as a community center and not a library. honestly formatting fics for tumblr is kind of a hassle, and i like to keep them in my own blog just in case, so personally that's why i stopped submitting. how do you feel about reblogging fics instead of receiving submissions? people could share you the links.

and i love the challenges, prompt lists and numerous things used to inspire writers and commenters. i like this blog a lot! it'd be great if it can stil work as a central of sorts.

Thank you baby!!! I would definitely be open to reblogging fic! I think that's a great idea, whether it's another Tumblr post or an AO3 link.

In the past, I've tried to be sensitive about making sure that authors are okay with it, because some people specifically avoid AQ for personal reasons, but if it's just a reblog or link to signal boost, I don't see why that would be a problem.

And of course we can keep the challenges going! I think those are fun, too. Maybe for future ones, we can just post the guidelines here but have people actually submit to AO3 collections.

It definitely could be fun if you queued some older fics (so like, older than 2021, but even further back is desirable) though I don't know how it'd work. I just like the surprise of seeing what's brought back. Like a time capsule of old fandom.

Hey guys! I'm so, so sorry that it's been so long since I updated anything here. Life got very overwhelming for a few months, and the longer it was, the more I felt like I needed a Big Explanation. 💜

If anyone in the community is interested in coming onboard as an admin, let me know by sliding into my DMs. In the meantime, Libra (aka @imstillafuckinglibra) has valiantly offered to help out, so he'll be stepping in to answer asks soon. We will also try to post a queue by this weekend.

We've been discussing what the blog will be moving forward, and I'm curious to know if anyone has opinions or feedback about that. AO3 is SUCH a good fic platform, and the organization and searching/sorting functions there are like, *vastly* superior to Tumblr. So maybe a better use for this blog is for authors and readers to talk about inspirations, prompts, give recommendations, etc? And of course we have the Discord servers.

Or as @artificialcandycane once said, "AO3 is the library. AQ is the community center." Which feels very correct.

Seeing everyone's posts from repostober makes me so happy. People are talking again about older stuff and older ships, and it's honestly refreshing to see.

Our fandom moves rather quickly from one thing to the next so rapidly, so the change of pace is nice.

It doesn't matter if the fic is a month or ten years old at this point, as long as the quality and heart is in it.
