Anxiety sucks!!
We know that anxiety sucks, that's why we bring this post from @mentalhealthceo & @the_therapy_notebook
⚠️ This is a repost ⚠️ . . This is a very detailed and comprehensive read, and it's so important because there are a thousand and one different ways to fight anxiety. The most important thing is to choose a short term strategy to deal with episodes of anxiety, e.g. TIPP, and also to educate yourself on ways to fix your cognitive distortions, change the behaviors that reinforce your anxiety, etc.

Hey Bestie!!... Happy new month! …also hello to my new followers! 👋🏾 The reason it’s been very quiet here is because over the past few weeks my mental health hasn't been good. It got to a point I had no motivation left, I wanted to delete all my accounts. I had creative/writers block, I was crying everyday and just experienced so much pain in my body. I just want to share that there is no shame in holding your hands up, stepping back and taking some much-needed time to rest. Over the past few weeks I’ve given myself time to eat, pray and love.. then repeat. Today I’m so grateful and truly feeling the benefits of listening to my body. Every day feels better than the last. I've missed you all sooo much & I know that so much more good things are on their way to us. If you are reading this, know that the possibilities God has over both of our lives are endless and I pray this month opens new doors that you are ready to step through. 10 years later....
Holy fuck... discovering this page 10 years later..... I actually forgot how depressed and fucked up in the head I was.....
Hi. This is my letter to myself, to the girl that wanted to end her life, to the girl that self harmed to get by, and to the girl who saved herself because that was the only person who could.
No one else could have saved me. Only I could. Boys/Men were an unhealthy coping mechanism for my daddy issues. Non one could save me but myself. So that’s what I did after I hit rock bottom.
I don’t know if I will ever share what got me to the point of rock bottom, I will let you take the guesses and I will not confirm or deny. But it shook me to my core and made me realize I had to get my shit together. I hate that that had to happen but I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for that really shitty situation and a really shitty guy......
I will admit, a few days ago I saw safety pins and I wanted to run it across my wrists, I have wondered if life could be better if I was not here, I have accidently cut my wrists on things.... and have liked it...... it is nothing, NOTHING like it used to be when I was a teenager and my very early 20′s. And I sometimes wonder if it never truly goes away.... You just have to choose yourself and dig deep inside yourself to find out what you really want, and if you want to live or take your own life......
I chose to live. I didn’t think I would make it to 30 though, I did.... I am here. turned 30 this year in April (2022). god this space still feels so safe to me some how 10 years later.... fricken wild....
30 was an emotional birthday, especially having a distant family member commit suicide on my birthday...  that was so eyry for me.... almost a full circle moment. It made me sad, it always makes me sad when people don’t get better or find a way to cope in a healthy way. I am still trying to find healthy ways to cope...... I also recognize everyone’s mental disorders/diseases are different and some are worse than others.
I wouldn’t say I got myself out of it all.... I just learned how to manage it better and focused on the good more than the bad..... OH! and I don’t live with my abusive/alcoholic father anymore, that sure did help. Him and I actually have a good relationship now. But I swear its only because I am older, I don’t live under the same roof as him and our last bad fight when I was 21 I right hooked him in the face..... couldn’t take anymore of his shit.... I also did that in front of my now husband.....
I don’t know what else to say... so that’s all for now.... I just needed to say something after scrolling through this page and realizing how bad things were for me and wanting to give that girl a hug. So glad I am on the other side.....

When feeling overwhelmed by negative experiences, it's easy to view them as a recurring pattern that will continue to happen. "This thinking pattern often leads people to overlook the positive ones.
Now question back to you, have you ever felt this way before? What usually triggers these thoughts? 🤔 We would love to hear from you in the comments.

What is mental health exactly?
Tumblr media
When you hear the term health, you can quantify it by your physical well being in terms of height, weight, back pain or knee pain while measuring it.
When you add mental, what exactly does it consist of? Can you measure it? Is it genetically passed?
To understand this let us first understand various subtle components of our body, they consist of  Intellect, Mind, consciousness, and the sense of I ness.
They are the four factors driving mental health, you might question what is difference between Intellect and Mind. Intellect means “to know” and its function is to consolidate thoughts, make decisions, form convictions and it gives us specific knowledge of all our senses too. Its inherent features are doubt, convictions, sleep and memory.
As of mind its inclusive of brain and it’s characterized by function of generating thoughts and desires and governing all our senses.
Now the function of consciousness is of contemplating or pondering and especially focusing. Mental impressions and experience are recorded and recalled from it.
Lastly the sense of I ness it gives us the sense of personal existence and by nature its passive, dense and totally ignorant. When these four equations add or are regulated then we can define our Mental Health and gauge it accordingly.

Balancing Academic Excellence And Mental Wellness In Children
As a parent, you want your child to succeed academically and reach their full potential. However, it’s equally important to prioritize their mental health and wellness to ensure they have a happy and fulfilling life. In this blog, we’ll explore some tips and strategies for balancing academic excellence and mental health wellness in children.
youtube
Create a Supportive Environment One of the most important things you can do to support your child’s mental health and wellness is to create a supportive home environment. This means being present, attentive, and empathetic, and providing a safe and nurturing space for your child to express their thoughts and emotions. Encourage open communication and make time for family activities that promote bonding and relaxation, such as family meals, game nights, or outdoor activities.
Prioritize Mental Health Care Just as you prioritize physical health care for your child, it’s important to prioritize mental health care as well. Regular check-ins with a mental health professional can help identify and address any potential mental health concerns early on, before they become more significant. If your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues, seek professional support from a qualified therapist or counselor who specializes in child and adolescent mental health.
Encourage Positive Coping Strategies Teach your child positive coping strategies that can help them manage and reduce stress and anxiety, such as mindfulness techniques, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Encourage physical activity and healthy habits such as getting enough sleep, eating a balanced and nutritious diet, and avoiding unhealthy coping mechanisms such as substance abuse or disordered eating.
Set Realistic Expectations While academic excellence is important, it’s important to set realistic expectations for your child and acknowledge their unique strengths and challenges. Help your child set achievable goals and celebrate their accomplishments, no matter how small. Encourage a growth mindset and help your child develop resilience and a positive attitude towards challenges and setbacks.
Foster a Balanced Lifestyle A balanced lifestyle is essential for both academic success and mental wellness. Encourage your child to engage in a variety of activities, including sports, hobbies, and creative pursuits. Encourage healthy boundaries around technology use and screen time, and prioritize quality family time and social connections.
In Conclusion, Balancing academic excellence and mental wellness in children requires a holistic approach that prioritizes mental health care, positive coping strategies, realistic expectations, a supportive environment, and a balanced lifestyle. By prioritizing your child’s mental health and wellness, you can help them thrive academically and emotionally, and set them up for a happy and fulfilling life.
