Please check out my update. I'm heartbroken. I was in the hospital and everything is getting worse and scarier. I told my family and they didn't care. They get defensive and upset when I try to ask for help and I'm realizing more and more how little I mean to them. It would mean so so much If y'all would read and share my story. I've lost so much to my illnesses. But I just want to share positivity and love.

Just a little nudge… . If you have taken part or still want to take part in the @decodemestudy you can do so and be sure to follow all the steps at your own pace . Even if you are only eligible for the questionnaire - you won’t know if you’re required to do the spit kit until after - but it’s a big help towards the findings of this study . Chronic Pain: What You Need to Know
Tumblr media
Chronic pain is a type of persistent pain that lasts for an extended period, typically longer than three to six months, or beyond the normal healing time of an injury or illness. Unlike acute pain, which serves as a warning signal and typically resolves once the underlying cause heals, chronic pain persists and becomes a condition in itself.
Chronic pain can have various causes, including:
Injury or trauma: A previous injury or trauma that has not fully healed can lead to ongoing pain.
Medical conditions: Conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, neuropathy, migraines, and back pain can result in chronic pain.
Nerve damage: Injuries or diseases affecting the nervous system can lead to chronic pain.
Infections: Certain infections can cause persistent pain, such as post-herpetic neuralgia after shingles.
Autoimmune disorders: Conditions like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis can cause ongoing pain and inflammation.
Musculoskeletal issues: Chronic pain may result from conditions affecting the muscles, bones, and joints.
The quality of life and general well-being of a person can be greatly affected by chronic pain. It can affect physical function, mental health, sleep patterns, and overall daily activities. People with chronic pain may experience fatigue, depression, anxiety, and social isolation.
Remember that seeking support from an “Online counselor” can be a valuable step in managing chronic pain and its effects on your mental and emotional well-being.
“Online counselling”  platforms like TalktoAngel offer convenience and accessibility, making it easier for you to connect with professional help from the comfort of your home. However, if you have severe pain or suspect a medical emergency, it's essential to consult with a healthcare professional or your primary care doctor for a thorough evaluation and appropriate medical treatment.

I'm struggling today; struggling to figure out who I am and become confident in my identity as a disabled person. Struggling to accept myself as I am because, I feel like there is SO much that my body should be able to do that it just can't. Add starting up physical therapy again on top of it, and my will to live is seriously dwindling... I hate the way they look at me, and I hate the way they make me feel. The pity on their faces kills me. Tomorrow we're going to the zoo, and I have to use a wheelchair or I can't go.. and that too hurts me. It shouldn't but, it does. I just wish I could be "that" girl for one day, the healthy girl that I never got to be. #chronicillness #chronicallyillauthor #ChronicPain #ChronicPainLife #ChronicPainAwareness #Insomnia #InvisibleDisability #InvisibleIllness #InvisibleIllnessAwareness #Spoonie #NoSpoons #SickAutoimmuneDisease #sickgirlproblems #sick #wheelchair #BabeWithMobilityAids #TheysWithMobilityAids #emotional #alternativegirl #shethey #Depression #dysphoria #DisabledCreator #disabledbutnotreally #disabledandcute (at Ingleside, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ckj-8O5N3MD/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I often wished that more people understood the invisible side of things. Even the people who seemed to understand, didn't really. - Sarah Todd Hammer & Jennifer Starzec, Determination
