'Night out'
Dinner was tense, to say the least. Liane would either not speak or ask only Eric questions. She wouldn't even eat the potato salad you made and looked offended when Eric seemed to love it.
"Honestly babe this is great." He said with a soft smile.
You gave a simple nod feeling the cold glare Liane was shooting your way. Her food was honestly amazing but so filling and kinda greasy. You felt like if you ate more than the small portion you served yourself you'd gain half your body weight overnight.
"Your cooking is so good Ms. Cartman." You said trying your best to salvage the night, and foolishly hoping with that one comment she's immediately love you.
She gave a forced smile and nodded before turning back to Eric. "So honey you look like you lost a lot of weight are you eating alright?"
She was right, of course. Eric had lost a bit of weight since you first met him, it wasn't too much but it was noticeable. You've seen a picture of him as a kid and he was always chubby, but now he gained some muscle, and honestly? He looked amazing.
"Oh. Yeah, I'm eating ok. Y/N never really stops cooking." He said with a chuckle, seemingly not as nervous anymore. "And we go to the gym sometimes so yeah I guess I have."
Liane took in a sharp breath, her nostrils flared and her grip on her glass tightened. "Well isn't that wonderful? Seems like you changed a lot since you left me."
This made Eric gain all that nervous energy back. And you can see why. She said it like it was meant to harm him. Like her words were a knife and she was aiming for his stomach.
"Yeah, I guess so.." He said shifting in his seat.
"You haven't called since you left." Another stab. "Was starting to think you forgot about me."
She put her fork and knife down and gave a small smile. It was insincere, angry. But you weren't sure if Eric saw that. "So I'm glad you came.
"Y-Y/N wanted to meet you so I thought so yeah know...thought it was a good idea." He said looking at Liane but avoiding her eyes.
"Oh. Well, I guess I have you to thank, Y/N." She said darting her cold eyes to you, and you can tell it killed her a bit inside to say that. She turned back to Eric and gave a sickly sweet smile. "You two staying long?"
"Maybe just the night," Eric said, biting his lip.
"That just won't do!" She said with a shocked expression. Don't you want to see your friends again?" Liane said gathering the empty plates on the table. "In fact, why don't you go out tonight? I'm sure the boys would love to see you."
You got a sinking feeling in your stomach at her suggestion. God, if she hated you, how would his friends react?
"I-I don't know...I mean are they even still in town? I'm sure they're busy." Eric said trying to figure out how to say no without the words coming out of his mouth.
"I insist! Most of them are still in town. Stan visits every now and then. Kyle and Kenny work at the school. In fact, I bet they're all at the bar downtown as we speak." Liane said before turning to you and dropping her 'motherly' voice. "Y/N wouldn't mind going. Would you?"
You hated how much this woman scared you. "N-nope! Don't mind at all! L-let's go I'd love to meet everyone." You said, giving an unconvincing laugh.
Eric bounced his leg and nodded. "Okay...yeah let's go."
You and Eric stood up and speed walked out the door. Once you two were in the car you both let out a sigh of relief.
"I told you this was a bad idea." Eric said starting the car.
"Yeah well it would have helped if you told me she was fucking crazy!" You said running your hands down your face. "I feel like I aged twenty years. I started worrying about my morgage in there."
"Why do you think I never wanted you to meet her?"
"I don't know! I thought you were like planning to break up with me soon or something!" You said as he drove.
He slammed down on the break petal and turned to look at you. "Y/N are you kidding?" He said, clearly offended. "Y/N you are the only person in my life that I turn back to. I left everything here because I couldn't fucking stand it."
You felt your cheeks heat up as Eric looked at you with his blue and brown eyes. He cupped your cheeks and pressed his lips into a line. "I can stand you. You are the only person I never get tired of."
"You are the only thing that makes sense." He continues. "My mom says she loves me but doesn't want me to be happy. My friends fucking hate me but still keep me around. Y/N you mean everything you say. When you say you love me I don't even fucking question it. God you're so-"
He cut himself off and let out a small frustrated growl. He grabbed your cheeks and pressed his lips into yours. You melted into his touch and kissed back. One of his hands moved to the back of your head, his fingers tangling in your hair, gently tugging. You gasp softly and he takes the chance to slide his tongue into your mouth.
The kiss quickly heated up. Your hands move down to his arms trying to keep yourself grounded, feeling that if you let go you'd float away. Before you two could get enough there was a honk behind the car, reminding you both that you were parked in the middle of the road. Eric let out a frustrated growl and reluctantly pulled away from your lips.
"Asshole could just move around." He muttered as he continued driving.
You let out a small laugh and leaned your head against the window. You felt less nervous about the rest of the night but you couldn't get rid of that nagging feeling in your stomach. What would his friends be like? Why would Liane make you and Eric leave if she didn't want you around? What was she playing at?
"What are your friends like?" You asked softly.
"I wouldn't really call them friends." He said looking ahead at the semi-empty road. "I liked hanging around Kenny, he was pretty cool. Stan was fine but he was more Kyle's friend than me or Kenny's. And Kyle....Kyle and I didn't really like each other."
You look over at him wondering if you should ask what you're about to. "Why not?"
"It's a long story...not ready to talk about all that yet." He said with a sigh.
"Remember last time you weren't ready to talk about something?" You asked half-teasingly. "Had to have a weird dinner with your mom who clearly hates me."
"I know but I just...It'll take me some time so be patient yeah?" He said parking in front of a small bar.
"Yeah okay." You said with a sigh. "Now let's go meet your....childhood acquaintances?"
Eric grimaced and chuckled. "Maybe calling them friends is better."

Day Seven- Camilla
Tumblr media
500 Follower Event, 30 Day Writing Prompts Prompt: Oil, Radiant, Peach, Camilla (FE:Fates) Pairing: Camilla x You Tags: Fluff, kisses, picnics Word Count: 517
A gentle breeze rustles the leaves high above, sending pink flower petals raining down around your picnic blanket. The sun is bright, but dips behind the huge, fluffy clouds that float languidly through the sky, providing you with a brief reprieve. Spring is in full swing in Hoshido, from the twittering of birds to the blooming of flowers in the meadows. With the bond between Nohr and Hoshido repaired, it’s been nice to spend some time exploring. And who better to explore with than Camilla?
The Nohrian princess lounges by the burbling creek you’ve set your lovely afternoon picnic near. She skims her fingers through the water, smiling softly when she meets your gaze. In her white sundress, with her curly bangs held back by a gilded headband, she looks utterly radiant. You reach down, plucking a pale, pink flower from where it’s landed in the grass, and reach to tuck it behind Camilla’s ear. Before you can pull your hand away, she gently grasps it, pressing a featherlight kiss to your wrist.
“It’s lonely, down here in the grass,” she pouts, mischief glimmering in her amethyst eyes, “Come join me.”
You’ve long been finished with your picnic, the only thing left being a small vial of oil for the salad and a few crumbs from the slice of cake the two of you shared. You shuffle off the blanket and make yourself comfortable in the grass beside Camilla, careful not to lay down on the locks of her lavender hair that form a halo around her head. When she pulls you close, you smell the sweet scent of her perfume, peach and honeysuckle mingling with orange blossom. For a while, the two of you lay there, eyes closed, dozing in the warm light of the sun. Camilla’s fingernails tickle your scalp as she runs her fingers through your hair. Occasionally, she’ll steal giggly kisses from you before sighing wistfully and smoothing her thumb along your cheek.
You know you’ll have to be getting back to the palace soon. You’ve both got duties to attend to, and everyone will be wondering where you went. So you savor this quiet, relaxing moment with Camilla, not sure when you’ll get another one like it. The life of a princess is busy and there’s much to be done both in Nohr and Hoshido for you, too. Most days, you hardly see one another, so any time you get to spend in each other’s company must be honored, accordingly.
“We should probably head back soon,” you begrudgingly venture after a while. The sun is starting to dip in the sky, inching closer to the mountains on the horizon.
“Just a few more minutes,” Camilla murmurs back, wrapping an arm around you and holding you close, “They don’t need us for a while.”
If her words weren’t enough to convince you, her kiss certainly is. You melt into her touch, whatever protest was on the tip of your tongue lost to her tender embrace.
“I guess they can wait,” you concede, smiling against Camilla as she leaves you utterly breathless once again.
A/N: I have some plans for a longer Camilla fic at some point in the future. I'm hoping I can get around to writing it soon, because it's been in my WIPs for like years now haha. Camilla was one of my first Fire Emblem crushes, and actually kinda helped me realize I was gay. I think I struggle to write for her sometimes because there's a bit of a deeper connection with her for me. She holds a special place in my heart in a way that is sometimes painful for me to convey. I struggled writing even this little drabble, which was sort of a surprise for me. Maybe I should prioritize that fanfic. Might be healing :) Anyway, enough of me rambling! Thank you for reading! Up next is Suguru Geto from JJK!

It's been a while, hasn't it? I'm sorry I missed your last few birthdays. It's not that I don't think of you. January 31st is still etched in my brain. I still sometimes try to find ways to observe it, but it's been hard. I don't really know how to address you after everything that happened. You get that, right? Idfk, I can't find the words, I suck at this haha.
You pointed a gun at mom. Tried to splash bleach in her face. What the fuck am I supposed to think about that? Like you know I'm fucked up about that, but it's an elephant in the room. Fuck's sake. I'm glad that it was you that caught yourself eventually, mom was so quick to stop myself from screaming after she told me what happened, talked about that sudden lucidity. Told her to call the cops and arrest you. Fuck, man. Why? Why did this happen to you? You didn't deserve this shit. WE didn't deserve this shit. But I don't hold it against you, you were so far gone and fucked up on so many drugs; was the only way to cope out there, shit was so hopeless, and you seemed so scared by the end. I knew something was wrong and you were hurt. You had this expression. I didn't see that look in your eye often, the sheer vulnerability and pain. Like every time I'd see you examining sea-life on the shorelines up here. I saw it a lot when you'd listen to Blue October with us, or Nine Inch Nails. I still listen to them, by the way! You remember Trent's "Ghosts" project? He released two new entries back in 2020. I think you would've loved them, it still goes down that "creepy Aphex Twin" kinda vibe. I know you never liked those, but I dunno. They make me think of you. They make me think of many I've lost, but also like many that never really happened to begin with. That sounds like stupid word salad, I know. But it felt right to say.
All those last days with you, I didn't know what to say after you were released from jail. I know you wanted psychiatric help, and you never really got what you needed there. I'm forever angry, I feel like they let you die. But sometimes that sensation creeps up and I remember the things I said after the incident. Or maybe it was the things I didn't say? It doesn't matter. The point is I wasn't there for you and I wasn't kind to you. I didn't know what to do. I was one kid struggling to live, themselves. But if you knew I didn't hate you, that I still loved you, that I still called you my dad, would you have waited at least one more day? Just one more day where I could see you. Maybe I could get you help if I went back in time today. I have what it takes, and the laws up here in Washington would have wiped away all your criminal history! I could have worked. Why did you fucking leave us? Mom and little Jay still wake up crying, locked doors still send Jay spiraling. It's been 6 years. Even if I had one day where I could have told you I loved you. I fucking hate knowing that I let things end so coldly between you and I. And I get scared, I sometimes wonder if you'd be disappointed in me today if you were still here. I made such colossal fuckups and did such reprehensible shit. I don't do anything with my life and I'm cold, lonely, boring and forgettable. I don't know if you'd ever see me as a girl, if you'd accept the real me. You always made those jokes when you were drunk, I wished you did that less but I was so spineless. I feel like no matter which way I slice it, I'm failing.
You were such a mess of a father, but god you fucking tried. But I still have to acknowledge you and mom abused me, when you were both still using. Mom's clean again now, and she finished her degree. I think you'd be really proud of her.
There's nothing I can do or say to really make amends anymore. You're dead. Gone. Nothing left. I hadn't seen you for weaks. I didn't even see your body. I would have fallen apart and I'm too chicken shit to handle that.
I don't believe in the afterlife, but I hope when this is all over I can find you again. I want to be your daughter, and I wanna catch up with you again. Talk about computer science and engineering shit like we used to. Watch shitty arthouse films. I fucking wish I took you up on that when I was younger. I was such trash. I'm done. I can't write anymore. I love you, dad. You left us too soon, and I'm sorry I didn't do more

Because it’s you - Sky x Fem!Reader - Request
Pairing : Sky (Fate The Winx Saga) x Fem!Reader
Words : 1673
Warnings : Fluff, lots of love.
Request by @navyhua: Hi could you do a sky x reader in which they are dating and every little thing that she does he has a flashback of memory he just so in love with her. Also she’s a fairy and sometimes train with the specialists cuz her dad is Saul thank you
Author’s note : Thanks for the request ! Not gonna lie, it was a bit of a challenge to keep it simple yet cute. But I think I got a nice thing out of this. I hope you enjoy it and thank you for being patient :D
Tumblr media
Sky is both excited and scared at the same time. When he was younger, his father promised him that Alfea would be the best place to live his late teenages years : wonderful scenery, intensive training program, loads of fun and Saul Silva as his Fencing Instructor. Andreas would be by his side and help him out if he needed help. After all he did go to the same school; might as well take advantage of that, he had said to his son.
Because life isn’t a fairytale, Andreas died not long after his promise, leaving Silva to care for the boy. He already had a daughter of his own, but she mostly lived with her mother, the parents being divorced. Saul had all the space he needed to raise Sky, while still seeing his little girl. The children met a few times, going along rather well, but not enough to stay in contact. That was until…
Sky walked through the gigantic iron gates. The peebles under his feet cracked pleasantly as he took in the sight. A flock of students was rushing towards the tall ivory building, some hugging each other in the grass, while a few shy others stayed in corners. He stood in the center of the court, circling on himself.
I wish he was here.
The clouds covered the sun once in a while. While the crowd passed by him, his eyes caught a young woman walking along the edges of the main entrance. Rolling her phone in her hands, she seemed to search for someone. She looked so familiar… A few seconds passed and no one came for her. With a sigh of defeat, she put the phone in her pocket. Hands in her jacket, her head dipped down to scan her luggages, she closed her eyes and whined. It was kinda cute, the way her frame was drowned with bags of various sizes. She started walking towards the main building's doors, her struggle adamant. The sun shone bright again, as a cloud flew by. He approached her, and as he came in her line of sight, she tripped over the junction between the peebles and the grass, falling.
"Oh my - Are you okay ?!"
After a little growl, she put her face up, revealing her ashamed smile, her cheeks sprinkled with dirt. And then it hit him. He definitely already saw those pretty (y/e/c) somewhere.
"Heeyy Babe. Long time no see. Missed me ?" (Y/N) Silva whispers.
Sky laughs. A bunch of flowers starts to bloom around her, (Y/N)’s earth fairy powers always act up a bit when strong emotions flow through her. Helping her up, he makes sure to take some bags to carry some of the weight. Once on her feet, he brushes the dirt off of her right cheek. They are tinted with red, embarrassed. The sun shines bright, a lingering warmth from summer.
"Still as clumsy as day one. I wonder how you're Saul's daughter sometimes."
She blows raspberries, softly swatting his hand away.
"You wish you had my style, blondie.
-Oh yeah, definitely. "
She looks down at her knee, hurting her a little bit. It had scraped in the dirt. But nothing too alarming. Noticing the flowers, she picks one up, putting behind one of Sky's ears. Wrapping her arms around his neck, her lips kiss his, scratching the base of his hairline. It's always comforting to have (Y/N). She makes things better.
He can't stop thinking : if his father had still been alive, would they have met ? There are so many other things he loves about this girl. Would Andreas have approved of it ?
(Y/N) waves a hand in front of his face. Her other hand holds a fruit salad with a couple of biscuits. Sky got lost in his thoughts. The sun blinds him for a second. They are taking their lunch break on the terrace of the cafeteria.
"You good, blondie ?"
He shakes his head, focusing again, before nodding.
"Yeah sorry. Rough week. I… Sorry, Chef. I'm ready for the next meal of the course."
She gently smiles, planting a kiss on top of his head.
"Got it. Eat up."
He kisses her right cheek. Taking the bowl, he grabs the spoon before taking a bite. God, this strong vanilla aroma and with a touch of citrus…
Sky needed a breather. Never in a million years would he have thought that trying to combine training and extra classes would be so hard. Body aching from a sword fight, he mindlessly went to the main gardens near the Barrier. From afar he saw a silhouette hunched in the sun, sitting on a napkin above the grass. Inspecting furthermore, he recognized a bag he had carried a couple of weeks ago.
"How's the knee ?"
(Y/N) flinched looking up. A bright smile lit her face up.
"Ok ! I'm glad you helped me to the dorms. Thanks again."
He nodded, sheepish. Only then did he notice the fruit salad and biscuits around her. His stomach growled. God damn it. When's the last time he ate ? As if she understood, she motioned for him to sit.
"A friend was supposed to meet with me. But they canceled so… Come on. Take a bite. I heard your tummy rumbling. It's my way to thank you."
Wincing as he sat, the sun was basking them with a gentle warmth. (Y/N) handed him a bowl, pushing an open biscuit box to him.
"Feast, fearless warrior. Thy sword should be wielded by strong arms and a mind of steel."
Sky laughed, surprised but pleased at the food. Not too sugary, not too sour, just refreshing. It was heavenly.
Throughout the 3 first months, they kept that little routine going. Going to the garden, eating lunches, or sweet break meals together. Sometimes, Sky's friend Riven joined. But the funniest time was when the two of them admired the sky, finding shapes in the clouds. Chatting about school, all and nothing. Sky napped while (Y/N) read. It felt good. Normal.
Before Winter break of the 1st year, Saul got custody of (Y/N), offering her and Sky to get to know each other better. And well, they hit it off. After it was a bit weird for the father, seeing his daughter and his surrogate son falling in love. But it wouldn't be fair to get in the way. They didn't grow up together. Their bond bloomed at Alfea. He nudged them towards each other. Seeing what they became, he regretted nothing.
The fences made of foliage rustled. Clouds were darkening the sky. Back to back, (Y/N) and Sky turned their attention to the noise. She was terrified, breathing deeply to steady her steps. He was before her, sword in front of his chest ready to strike. Along in this maze, the two teenagers were tracking down a specialist playing wolf. The fairy-specialist training happened once every two month. The goal was to help students work as a team, help the fairies see what a potential battlefield is and assess their weaknesses.
The noise came closer. Sky extended a hand behind him, reaching for (Y/N).
"You good ?    He whispered.
-Yeah."
That was too shaky for his liking. He turned around to reassure her. Unfortunately, the enemy darted around the corner behind him.
"Sky !"
The Burned one decoy launches at them. (Y/N) pushes Sky behind her. Hands at her waist, she casts vines from the ground. They circle the legs of the creature. The specialist gawks at the sight. The fairy throws her hands down, rooting the thin long legs into the ground. She grunts, anxiety poking at her concentration. Her eyes close to focus, she gives space for her thoughts : Could she do it ? How long will the spell last ? Why are the Burned Ones coming back now ? Is her father really okay ? Is this death ?
(Y/N)'s spell faded before Sky could land the blow. The boy got thrown into the foliage nearby, ending the exercise. The other specialist smiled sympathetically. She ran to her teammate, helping him up and out.
"I'm sorry, blondie. I was so scared…"
His eyes were soft. He got up, putting his hands on her shoulders.
"It's okay, I get it. You don't receive field training as a fairy. It's perfectly normal for you to be scared."
She looked away.
"On the bright side, you nearly got it. The only thing in the way was your anxiety. I know it's hard to harness, but here's a tip : I'm here for you. As long as we're together, you have noting to fear. You're strong."
She scoffed, hugging him by surprise. It had been three months since they started dating. He made her stronger, she gave him light. They were here for each other.
She feels a breeze pass her. A slashing sound later, her spell fades and she falls to her knees. Eyes open, her boyfriend smiles brightly at her.
"You did it !"
(Y/N) throws her arms in the air. He puts his sword away and walks to her. The clouds fly away, allowing a stream of sunshine to bask them.
"Yay ! But we did it, blondie."
Picking her up, he spins her. She squeals, hugging him tighter when he puts her down.
"Yeah. We did it."
They exhale, happy to have eliminated the decoy. With the Burned Ones resurfacing, the school had slowly shift into a military field. The mandatory fairy-specialist training had become a weekly thing. The entire day. Restlessly. There are struggles but…
"We're gonna survive this."
They lay in bed, cuddled up in a ball. He's proud of her. When he thinks about his day, her hands roaming his hair, nose nuzzled in his neck, he closes his eyes.
Everything she did today… It reminds of why he loves her so much.
She's cute. She's comfort. She's familiarity.
(Y/N) is Sky's light.

Nanami x fem! reader
Warnings: nothing too much! maybe language but overall just a bunch of fluff and lovey dovey stuff
Word Count: 2.9k
Summary: Domestic Nanami and reader, just thinking about how much they love each other. sappy and cute stuff.
A/N: Hi! ^_^ Second time posting, I’ve had this one shot saved for a bit now! finally posting it lolz. I've noticed a lot of people have written domestic Nanami pics or drawn art, very glad society as a whole has this perception of him. it truly heals the soul I think. anyway, I hope u like this and sorry if there’s any grammar errors I wasnt able to catch U_U im thinking of doing a hc post next.... unsure hm, we’ll see ^_^!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I’m hooooome.” He says loudly as he steps through the apartment door, setting his briefcase down and taking off his beige coat. Putting down the grand kitchen knife she was using to chop up spinach, she rushed to the door with a smile and engulfed the tall blonde into a tight hug, saying hello. She took a deep breath, inhaling the soft scent of his cologne, the smell of something sour and musty soon taking over. Her face scrunched up and she let out a giggle.
“Oh god, Nanami, you stink, what did you go against today?”
“Nothing too bad. Just a grade 3,” He sighed “A smelly grade 3.” He sounded disappointed, probably because he knew he stunk too. Though the smell was horrendous, she still remained in his arms and he still held on just as tight.
“Are you tired? I was thinking of making dinner with you tonight but if you’re too tired I can-”
“No no. I’m fine. Just let me wash up and I’ll help out.”
“You sure?” She asked looking up towards him, questioning once more to reassure. He looked down and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
“I’m sure, dear.”
While he showers upstairs, she gets back to readying the ingredients so they could begin cooking their masterpiece as soon as possible. Tonight she had chosen chicken alfredo with a tossed salad; One could say it was her favourite, but saying that would imply that she would eat it when cooked and served by whomever. But to her, she would only eat it when it was him who had made it for her.
Y/n adored him. He adored her. To her, he was her light. She could simply not imagine life without him, not after he had come in and changed her in such a way. She never in a million years would have thought to be so in love with someone. To have known someone who cared enough to hear all about her day or listen to all her tangents, whether they made sense or not. Who listened to her talk forever about anything just so he could see the faint glow of passion in her eyes. Someone who remembered the small details in regards to the things she loved and the things she despised; Like how she hated the feeling of peanut butter on her fingers and how she absolutely admired the scent of fresh pages in a new book. Sometimes, she felt undeserving of him.
He admired her like no other. Never did he believe he’d be capable of opening up to anyone in such a way, at least not until she walked into his life. He could write a million lists, all full of everything he loved about her. The way she smiled cheekily at him after a witty remark, how she'd give every hug as if it was the last, the way she was oh so patient with him. It took him time to become vulnerable in the slightest, he just didn’t know how to do so without burdening her. She knew his job was hard, he’d told her. But rather than running away like he expected, she stayed with him right by his side. She refused to leave him over that. If anything, it made her want to stay more since she felt the need to be there for him. It felt like a punch to the gut but a good one. “So, is this love?” He had asked himself then. Nanami had someone who brought out the much more joyful side to him. At the end of the day, he knew he’d walk through the front door only to see her, arms wide open and with a big smile offering a cozy hug. She was his home. Sometimes, he felt undeserving of her.
Putting the final piece of broccoli into the container, she tidies any clutter and went back to their shared bedroom. Sinking into the bed and falling on it with a plush thump, she lets out a deep sigh mixed with some sort of a groan. She herself was exhausted from work too to say the least. She didn’t deal with curses or anything like that, but she did teach a class of 9 year olds which one could consider just as frustrating. Yawning, she checks her phone to read the time: 6:15 PM. Nanami hadn’t been in the shower for too long, a small nap wouldn’t hurt. Quickly, she settled for a little 30 minute nap. That way, she could get up soon enough to help him out in the kitchen and not abandon him to do everything on his own. She turns her phone off and slowly, her eyes shut.
Y/n slowly opens her eyes and notices a grey throw blanket placed on her, something that she doesn’t recall going to bed with earlier. “Must’ve been Nanami.” Grabbing her phone, she turns the screen on, wincing at the incredible blue light piercing into her skull. “Fuck.” she mumbles. Once her eyes adjust, she glances back at the screen for the time: 7:30.
“FUCK,” she says, voice croaking “I overslept.” With the speed of light, she leaves bed and runs down the hall to the bathroom to freshen up. She soon makes her way over to the kitchen silently, slightly ashamed and guilty. Y/n mumbles a whine with a frown, “He’s probably done making things now. I could have helped.”
The kitchen is filled with the delicate scents of sauces, cheese and herbs. She watches him from the door frame, admiring her boyfriend. He stood in front of the stove mixing at the sauce for the alfredo, which scent alone made her mouth water. Nanami seems to be in his own world, as he stands humming to himself softly, stirring the pot of sauce and adding in the broccoli and spinach, not seeming to notice y/n. With a final stir, he carefully sets the lid and turns to rinse his hands. Her gaze sits upon his figure, how his grey oversized shirt slightly clings to his shoulders and loosens as it goes down his body. Looking down, she noticed the bright red christmas pyjamas he had on, the ones with adorable little reindeers all over them. Grinning, she remembers how she had bought those for him. She purchased a matching set for the two of them and insisted on wearing them all day on Christmas last year. Nanami had responded to the idea with a stern “No” which left y/n in shambles. She didn’t expect him to agree, but hey, a girl can dream. However, on Christmas day, lo and behold, she had woken up to find Nanami sitting on the couch, watching the news with his reindeer PJs on. Immediately, she had attacked him with hugs and kisses and all Nanami did was sit there and accept them, secretly loving it the whole time.
A deep voice throws her out of her thoughts. “You know, it’s rude to stare, right?”
Y/n chuckles quietly and makes her way over, wrapping her arms around him from behind, snuggling into his back.
“I like to stare at you, you’re cute,” she breathes in his scent once again, “ah, you smell so much better now. Like the nami I know.”
“I am not cute. I am a grown man.”
“C’mon, you can’t possibly be saying that right now. Not while you’re wearing these pants.” She coos, gently patting his butt. He goes silent, refusing to rebuttal knowing that he’s lost. He leans against the counter, his front facing her. Though he didn’t say anything, y/n sees this as an open invite to his arms. The rope of his arms finds her waist this time, her arms in an embrace around his neck.
“Whatever, tell me, how was your day, hm?” He posed, changing the subject.
“Same old, yenno. The kids and I had a discussion today about drugs and safety. It was cute, hearing them rat out their neighbours for smoking cigs and talk about how yucky they thought alcohol is. It was… sweet. How was work for you, hon?”
“Shit.” He retorts, closing his eyes, “Work is shit.”
“Oh come ON, I’m sure it’s not always that bad, right? Say, how’s your friend doing, you know, the one who kinda looks like one of my makeup brushes! Isn’t he good company?”
“Yeah, if good company means having to deal with a nuisance to society on a daily basis then by all means, yes, Gojo is wonderful company.” He joked, loosening his grip on her and making his way over to the stove to check on his sauce. She follows, opening the first drawer and pulling out a silver spoon, “You’re so mean sometimes. I think he’s a great guy to be around! I met him once, such a flirt.”
He teases calmly, “If you love him so much, why don’t you get with him?”
Taking her spoon, she lowers it into the pot and brings it back up to her face, blowing on it carefully before she puts it to her lips to taste. “Hmm, I would. But I don’t think he’s as big as you. I’ll have to pass.” She smirked, putting the spoon into her mouth as he watched and sighed in disappointment.
He glares,“God, you’re something else.”
“I’m just kidding, babe.” Bringing her spoon down for another taste. He swats at her hand and she retreats it with a whine. “Don’t do that. You’ve tried it already, and will again when we get to eat.” He scolded tenderly, “Plus, you shouldn’t be given these privileges anyway. It’s not like you helped out or anything.” He smiled, teasing her.
“Nanamiiii, I’m sorry,” she whines, half laughing, “I promise, I was going to help! I just got a little bit sleepy and sort of lost track of time…” He turned over to her and lifted her face with a finger under her chin. Laughing, he delicately caresses her cheek, tapping it admirably with a curled finger. The blonde chuckles and looks her in the eyes, “I’m just joking with you, love. I know you’ve been tired lately, I can tell. Why haven’t you been resting?”
Her smile falls and she sighs. Y/n wrapped her arms around his waist and brought him into her, hiding her face into his chest. It was true, she was exhausted but she didn’t deem it to be anything so serious. Work was just heavy this past week from having to grade her students’ work in time for report cards. All she wanted was the best for her kids and was finding ways to get the kids out of their comfort zones enough to do well in class. That reminded her, Nanami also mentioned having a student of his own.
She takes her face out of his chest and glances upwards. “It’s just this week of work, I promise I’ll be back to normal soon. I’ve just been busy with lesson plans and activities, yenno. Anyway, speaking of students, how’s the one you’ve been assigned to?” She posed in a soft tone. Half smiling, he turned around to add the strained pasta to the sauce, scattering it into the pot.
“He’s special. Quite lively. And cheerful. He reminds me of you sometimes,” his voice strains as he stretches to grab the bowl of cooked chicken to finally add into the pot, finishing the meal, “He’s got potential.” Y/n beamed with happiness. Nanami really seemed to like this kid and if he thought you had potential, then it sure as hell meant you had it.
She lets out a squeal, “EEEEEEK!!! That sounds amazing! I’m so happy for you!” Nanami suppressed a laugh and rolled his eyes, “It’s not that-”
“This calls for a drink, don’t you think?” She babbled with excitement, “We should have some wine! Right?”
Grabbing her wrist as she skipped her way over to the bottle, he reminded her, “You have school tomorrow. You always end up having more than needed and struggle to wake up in the morning.” Y/n frowned at his words, to which he noticed and tried to fix, “Tomorrow’s Friday, you can drink plenty tomorrow, hm? I’ll drink with you.”
“Ugh, fine. You’re right. But you have to promise.”
“I promise you ca-”
“No! You have to pinky-promise.” She demanded, pouting as he stuck out her pinky finger.
His heart skips a beat. Was she always this cute? Her angelic eyes stare into his tired ones. Bottom lip poking out, awaiting Nanami’s pinky to interlock with her own. He knew she took pinky-promises very seriously despite her grown age. It was among one of the many petty details that he cherished. Something about this pinky-promise was enough for her to ensure trust onto someone, it made him laugh. Her naivety is what made her so kind hearted, what allowed her to see the best in people. He felt that this naivety is why they’re together to begin with. He didn’t ever think she’d give him a chance. He reminisced of their first few encounters. The way she did her hair back then, the way she dressed, her shy smile and how she’d look at the floor whenever she’d blush. Maybe it was her timid nature that made him fall head over heels for her. Or maybe it was her generosity. Perhaps her beauty. He was unable to simply confine the reasoning for his infatuation with just a few traits. She grew overtime, more comfortable and less shy, she was more confident around him but he knew he could still make her blush so badly that she’d have to hide her face from him. He enjoyed their banter, her company. He felt it was luck. Or maybe it was fate. Who knows. He didn’t want to think so much about it. He wanted to live in the moment, adore her in this present time. In that instance, he felt the strong urge to kiss her. And so he did.
The kiss was short and sweet, yet full of an unfathomable amount of love. It took her aback, she didn’t quite see it coming. She too stood in the present moment, then and there, cherishing the man she loved.
His lips leave hers and he extends the smallest finger on his hand, declaring, “I pinky-promise.” And a ginormous grin washes over her face. In a whisper, she squeals and scoops her arms around his torso, resting her head onto his chest. They stay like this for a while, not too long really, but to them it felt like an eternity being in each other’s affectionate embrace. He goes to speak and she feels the vibrating boom of his voice make his way up from his chest.
“I love you.”
She sighs, “I love you too.”
Turning her head, y/n smoothly gets on her tip toes and clasps her arms around his neck, giving it a tender kiss and attempting to make a trail leading up to his sharp jaw. Catching onto her tactics he laughs, putting his big hand against her face and pushing her back.
“Seriously?” He chuckles, “You couldn’t wait till after dinner? Come on, take out the plates.”
“Wait for what? I was just kissing you! You’re so dramatic, Nami.” She lies, playing innocent. She knew damn well what she was trying to do. She wasn’t going to admit to it though. Taking out the plates and utensils, she readied the table.
After dinner and meaningless conversation, the two lovers tidied and headed towards their room. “Do yo wana wah a mohee tomowwow nie?” Y/n proposed from the bathroom as she brushed her teeth. He perks his head up, confused, “Do I want to what?” She spat into the sink and rinsed her mouth, repeating her question.
“I said, do you wanna watch a movie tomorrow night? Like at home? There’s this documentary I saw on Netflix, it looks really good! It’s crime related.”
“That sounds fine with me. Though, that’s only possible if you don’t end up drinking too much. I always have to get you to sleep early when you drink.” He states nonchalantly, nose poked into a thick book. She rolls her eyes and smiles, “I promise I won’t drink all that much.” Shifting his book to the opposing hand, Nanami silently takes his pinky finger and holds it out to y/n. She snickers and reciprocates.
“You’ve now pinky-promised. Don’t break it, y/n.”
“I never do.”
The nightstand lamp illuminates the room with a soft yellow glow. Shadows of objects on the nightstand hang on the walls. Laying in bed on her phone, y/n turns over to Nanami, who was still reading his book. “Nami, come lay next to me, I wanna cuddle. Please?” Her voice faint. He looks down at her and puts his book away immediately. He could use a cuddle too. Bringing himself down, he lays on his back, y/n closing the gap between the two. Their legs intertwine, her arm and head resting on his chest while one of his hands rested on her bum, the other dotingly playing with her hair. Neither of them spoke a word for a while. Until y/n broke the silence.
“So, were there no other pairs of pants you had left to wear or-”
“Please, be quiet.”

Word Count: 2,325ish
Summary: The Starks receive unexpected visitors, that come with a plan.
Warning: Possible gif overload. Gifs aren’t mine. I just love Tony and Morgan.
Tumblr media
Before the small Stark family knew it, it was October of 2023. And their house had become a wonderful home for them.
Morgan was four and almost the spitting image of her father. She was smart like him too. She loved working with her father in his workshop or playing outside in the tent Tony bought for her.
Y/N had got into gardening, especially because they were kind of far away from any grocery store. Tony was a willing helping hand and was slowly becoming a small farm boy. It bought a few small goats, an alpaca, a couple of chickens, two cats, and was planning on getting a dog for Morgan for Christmas.
Steve and Natasha only visited when Tony was gone or Y/N and Morgan went to them. Tony was still struggling to forgive after everything, and Y/N wasn’t willing to push Tony more than he had willingly done himself.
Y/N was currently in the kitchen, making lunch, while Tony was “being helpful”.
“Are these our gojis?” Tony wondered, looking at the bowl of berries.
“They are not,” Y/N answered as she cut tomatoes.
“What’s wrong with ours?”
“Your alpaca ate them all.”
“Oh.”
“All of them.”
Tony laughed, moving to the other side of Y/N. “What a glowing endorsement. First of all Gerald is our alpaca.”
Y/N scoffed out a small chuckle. “He’s not my alpaca if he’s eating my goji’s.”
“Okay.” He grabbed a handful of berries. “They’re gonna be nice in the salad right there, right?”
“No.” Y/N quickly reach over to stop Tony. “Don’t, don’t, don’t!” Tony looked at her with big doe eyes. “Could you put it down?” She gently pushed his arm away. “And get out of my kitchen.”
“Okay.” He turned towards the stove and crashed into some pots. “Whoops.” Trying to bite back a smile, Y/N looked up at the ceiling. “We’re good here, right?”
“Yeah, we’re great.” She got back to chopping. “Tell Madam Secretary that lunch is in five.”
“I will collect our alpha female, posthaste,” Tony replied, before exiting the house.
Tumblr media
Y/N couldn’t help but grin as she focused back on the food. She was so lucky. So very lucky.
~~~
Tony walked down the porch steps, clapping out a beat.
“Chow time!” He called out to his daughter, heading towards her little play area. “Maguna?” He sat on a small chair outside of her tent. “Morgan H. Stark. Want some lunch?”
Tumblr media
Morgan appeared from the fort with a suit helmet on and a fake suit glove. She had her gloved hand pointed at her father.
“Define lunch or be disintegrated,” she demanded in her young voice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Okay,” he ran his fingers down the helmet to the edge. “You should not be wearing that, okay? That is part of a special anniversary gift I’m making for mom.” He kissed the side of the helmet before removing the helmet from Morgan’s head and brushing the hair from her face.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Okay.”
“There you go. Are you thinking about lunch? Wand a handful of crickets?”
“No,” she laughed.
“That’s what you want.” Tony held up the helmet. “How did you find this?”
Tumblr media
“Garage.”
Tumblr media
“Really? Were you looking for it?”
Tumblr media
“No. I found it, though.”
Tumblr media
“You like going to the garage, huh?” Morgan nodded as Tony lifted her up and set her on his hip. “So does daddy. It’s fine actually. Mom never wears anything I buy her.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As they made their way to the house, a black car pulled up and parked in the driveway. Steve, Natasha, and Scott Lang stepped out as Y/N came out of the house to see what was holding Tony and Morgan up. They all were looking at Tony, who was avoiding Steve’s gaze and gave a slight nod to Natasha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Uncle Steve!” Morgan exclaimed, trying to wiggle out of her father’s arms. “Auntie Nat!”
Tony failed to keep her there, and let her run to welcome the guests. Y/N and Tony shared a look. They knew that, since Scott was with them, this wasn’t just a friendly visit. Y/N walked down the porch, to where Morgan was chatting Steve’s ear off in his arms.
“Hey, Mo,” Y/N called to her daughter. “Why don’t we go inside and make drinks for everyone? Then you can talk your uncle’s ear off.”
“Okay,” she sighed, turning to reach Y/N. Y/N took her from Steve.
“Please don’t ask anything stupid of him,” Y/N whispered to Steve. “He’s—we’re finally happy.”
Steve didn’t bother to answer, which Y/N huffed about before heading into the house with Morgan. Tony, Steve, Nat, and Scott gathered on the porch as Morgan and Y/N made drinks inside. Scott was explaining something when Y/N brought a tray of drinks out to Tony. She wished she could hear what they were talking about, but she needed to stay in with Morgan. Y/N watched from the window as she fed Morgan.
“Now, we know what it sounds like—“ Scott said, finishing his story.
“Tony, after everything you’ve seen, is anything really impossible?” Steve interrupted.
Tumblr media
“Quantum fluctuation messes with the Planck Scale, which then triggers the Deutsch Proposition. Can we agree on that?” Tony asked, handing out drinks.
Tumblr media
“Thank you.”
“In Layman's terms, it means you're not coming home.”
“I did,” Scott said.
“No, you accidentally survived. It's a billion to one cosmic fluke. And now you wanna pull off a... What do you call it?”
“A time heist?”
“Yeah, a time heist. Of course, why didn't we think of this before? Oh, because it's laughable? Because it's a pipedream?”
“The Stones are in the past. We can go back and get them.”
“We can snap our own fingers,” Natasha stated. “We can bring everyone back.”
“Or screw it up worse than he already has, right?” Tony responded.
“I don’t believe we would,” Steve said.
“Gotta say, sometimes I miss that giddy optimism. However, high hopes won't help if there's no logical, tangible way for me to safely execute said time heist. I believe the most likely outcome would be our collective demise.” Tony sat down.
“Not if we strictly follow the rules of time travel,” Scott replied. “That means no talking to our past selves, no betting on sporting events—“
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tony held a hand out. “I’m gonna stop you right there, Scott. Are you seriously telling me that your plan to save the universe is based on Back To The Future?”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“No.”
“Good. You had me worried there. 'Cause that'd be horse shit. That's not how quantum physics works.”
“Tony…” Natasha called. “We have to take a stand.”
Tumblr media
“We did stand. And yet, here we are.”
“I know you got a lot on the line. You got a wife, a daughter. But I lost someone very important to me. A lot of people did,” Scott was pleading.
Y/N could see that Tony was getting overwhelmed and she quickly told her daughter to go and save him.
“And now, now we have a chance to bring her back,” Scott continued. “To bring everyone back. And you're telling me that won't even—“
Tumblr media
“That’s right, Scott, I won’t even. I got a kid.”
Tumblr media
Morgan ran up to Tony, who quickly set her in his lap. “Mommy told me to come and save you,” she said.
Tumblr media
“Good job. I’m saved.” Tony stood up, facing his friends. "I wish you'd come here to ask me something else. Anything else. Honestly, I... I missed you guys, it was... Oh, and table's set for six.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Tony, I get it. And I'm happy for you and Y/N, I really am. But this is a second chance.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I got my second chance right here, Cap. I can't roll the dice again. If you don't talk shop, you can stay for lunch.” He headed inside.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Talk to Y/N about it. Think it over.”
“No need. We can’t risk this.”
Tony entered the house, holding Morgan close. He went straight into the kitchen to get washed up for lunch. Y/N watched as their three visitors walked back to Steve’s car. Steve looked back at the house, making eye contact with Y/N through the window.
~~~
Tony was quieter than usual the rest of the day. This worried Y/N, but she couldn’t let it get to her. She needed to take care of Morgan. They made dinner together and Tony and Morgan chatted loudly over dinner. He even offered to do the dishes while Y/N tucked in Morgan.
As Tony finished the last of the dishes, he lost hold of the hose, causing water to spray everywhere. Including the small shelves beside the sink that held a photo of Howard and a photo of Tony and Peter. Seeing the photo of Peter slightly wet, Tony grabbed it to dry it off. Looking down he say Peter’s face. He missed that kid so much. He looked up, with a determination he hadn’t felt in a while.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Y/N came down from tucking in Morgan, Tony was at a table. He was talking to FRIDAY and playing around with a hologram. She knew very well to leave him alone when he was like this, so she grabbed her book and curled up on the couch.
Tony was still going strong about an hour and a half later:
"Look at a mod inspiration, let me see what check out,” he told FRIDAY. “So, recommend one last sim before we pack it in for the night. This time, in the shape of a mobius strip, inverted, please.”
Tumblr media
“Processing,” FRIDAY responded.
“Give me that eigenvalue. That, particle factoring, and a spectral decomp. That will take a second.” He stuffed some food in his mouth.
Tumblr media
“Just a moment.”
“And don’t worry if it doesn’t pan out. I’m just kinda—“
“Model rendered.”
Tony fell back into a chair, in complete shock and amazement. “Shit!”
Tumblr media
“Shit,” Morgan giggled.
Tumblr media
Tony turned around to see Morgan sitting on the stairs behind him, large smile on her face.
Tumblr media
“Sshhh,” Tony shushed, finger over his mouth. “What are you doing up, little miss?” He whispered.
Tumblr media
“Shit,” she repeated.
Tumblr media
“No, we don't say that. Only Mommy says that word. She coined it, it belongs to her.”
Tumblr media
“Why you up?”
“'Cause I got some important shit going on here.” Morgan raised a brow at her father, not impressed. “What do you think? No, I got something on my mind. I got something on my mind.”
Tumblr media
“Was it Juice Pops?”
“Sure was. That’s extortion.” He stood up and took his daughter’s hand. “Great minds think alike. Juice Pops, exactly was on…” Tony looked back at the model before heading to the kitchen with Morgan, “…my mind.”
Tumblr media
~~~
“You done?” Tony asked with a smile on his face. Morgan was lying in her bed, finishing a Juice Pop. “Yeah, now you are.” He took the popsicle stick before wiping Morgans lips with his sleeve and pushing her head onto her pillow. “That face goes there.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Tell me a story,” Morgan said.
“A story… Once upon a time, Maguna went to bed. The end.”
“That’s a horrible story,” Morgan giggled.
“Come on, that's your favorite story. I love you tons.” He kissed Morgan on the forehead as he stood up.
Tumblr media
“I love you 3000.”
Tumblr media
Tony grinned, “wow,” he mouthed, putting the popsicle stick in his mouth. He turned off her lamp and headed to the door. “3000. That’s crazy. Go to bed. Or I’ll see all your toys. Night, night.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tony shut the door and heading to the living room. Y/N was still curled up reading.
“Not that it's a competition, but she loves me 3000,” Tony stated as he came up to the side of the couch.
Tumblr media
“Oh does she now?” Y/N questioned.
“You were somewhere on the low 6 to 900 range.” Y/N scoffed as Tony chewed on the stick and looked at the fireplace. “What are you reading?”
Tumblr media
“Oh, it's just a book on composting,” she responded.
“What's new with composting?”
“Just—“
“I figured it out, by the way.”
Y/N looked up at Tony. “You know, just so we're talking about the same thing—“
“Time travel.”
“What? Wow… I… That’s amazing, and… terrifying.”
“That’s right.” Tony sat down on the other end of the couch.
Y/N reached over and squeezed Tony’s shoulder. “We got really lucky.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“A lot of people didn’t.”
“No, I can't help everybody.”
Tumblr media
“It sort a seems like you can.”
“Not if I stop. I can put a pin in it right now, and stop.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Tony… getting each other to stop has been one of the few failures of our lives.”
He smiled lightly at her. “I sometimes feel I should put it in a locked box and drop it at the bottom of a lake... go to bed.”
“But would you be able to rest? Cause I sure as hell won’t be able to… I’ll stand by your side no matter you choose.”
“You already know what I’ll choose though, don’t you? Cause you’ve seen in.”
“I haven’t seen it… but I know that last fight isn’t the last.”
“I just… I can’t lose you and Morgan.”
“You won’t.” Y/N grabbed Tony’s hand. “We’re going to do this. Together…” She leaned in and kissed him softly. “Your lips taste like Juice Pops,” she giggled against his lips.
“Is that a bad thing?”
“Not at all.”
She shook her head before kissing him again, this time more heated. Tony pulled her onto his lap.
“What would you say to grabbing some Juice Pops and taking this upstairs?” Y/N panted slightly.
“I wouldn’t be opposed.” He placed on last kiss on Y/N’s lips before standing them both up. “I’ll grab the pops, meet you up stairs.”
“We have to be quiet though. Last time Morgan almost walked in on us.”
“Oh, don’t worry. FRIDAY won’t let that happen again.”
Light of My Life
DESCRIPTION: CHARACTERS ARE NOT MINE, THEY BELONG TO THEIR RESPECTFUL OWNERS. ONLY THING THAT IS MINE IS THE PLOT
Summary: Kirishima and Y/n realize their love for each other after years of yearning
Warnings: slight nudity, some cursing, tooth-rotting fluff
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two years.
Kirishima has been in love with you… for two whole years. Ever since he met you on the first day they had started as first years in UA. When you stood up for your new friends against the angry blonde pomeranian that is Kasuki Bakugo, then for some reason apologized for it. You were just the epitome of beauty, both inside and out, and benevolence, a fiery spark in your eye that indicates the strong will and fight that you have.
And the way you handle yourself in combat during that first training exercise with All Might? Kirishima swears that the existence of Cupid must be real because he was pretty sure it must’ve been incredibly abnormal with how fast he had fallen for you. You fought like some kind of battle goddess. And with your quirk, you might as well be.
You called your quirk “Celestial Light,” meaning you manipulate sun-, moon-, and starlight to your will. He’s seen you use the sunlight as powerful beams, to which you secretly admitted to him later that you got that move from Pokemon, forge weapons out of either light, and can now weave yourself a dazzling pair of wings along with armor as your ultimate move.
And while all these features, plus with just how stunningly beautiful you are; with your soft, shiny (h/c) hair, your (e/c) eyes that seem to make the stars in the sky lose their sparkle, those plump, soft-looking lips that stretch out into that dazzling smile that proudly shows off your pearly whites. What really reeled in his attention was all the little quirks you have.
The way you twirl a lock of your hair when you’re deep in thought; the way you chew on that kissable, plump lower lip of yours and your nose scrunches in the cutest way he’s ever seen, when you’re stuck on a difficult problem or when you don’t understand said problem; the way you always pluck out the tomatoes from your salad; how you always save your dessert for last so that, according to you, the delicious taste lingers on your tongue long after you’ve eaten it, or how you’re quick to offer some of your said dessert when a friend seems upset or sad about something; or the way you lightly sway your hips while you’re cooking to a song that’s either sounding from your phone or ringing in your head, at times humming to the tune playing, and how you tend to hum to what seems to be a pleasant daydream, if the soft smile on your face is anything to go by; as well as how you always, always make hot chocolate late at night when you have problems sleeping and how utterly adorable you look as you fight to stay awake as he fondly watches from around the corner during the times he himself has gown downstairs for something to drink as you sigh so contently when you take that first sip before clumsily making your way back up to your room. Especially when you still continue to argue with Kasuki to this day on how he treats Midoriya even though he’s mellowed a bit, Kirishima can’t help but find you so utterly adorable when your 5’7” is all up in Kasuki’s 6’5” personal space. It’s like watching a cute golden retriever puppy going up against a big bad (pomeranian) wolf.
Man, he could just go on and on. And he can go on and on and on about how hopelessly in love with you he is. Which he was subconsciously doing right now with his group of friends as he watched you happily interact with your best friend Mina and the other girls, as they undoubtedly plan their “girl’s night” tonight. Kirishima gave out another sigh, which earned him a hard smack on the back of his head within the next second.
“Ow!” Kirishima’s hand shot to the spot the angry pomeranian he calls his best friend had smacked him. He turned a questioning look over at the seething blonde next to him, looking at the bulging vein that looks ready to pop on his forehead. “What the hell was that for, Bakubro?!”
“That is the fucking twelveth time you’ve fucking sighed like that in the last 20 minutes, and I swear to fuck if I have to hear another fucking comment on how ‘beautiful’ Lamp is, Imma blow your ass all the way to Timbuktu,” Bakugou angrily spat out.
Of course, the threat of getting his ass handed to him rolled off him like water on a swan’s back. In the back of his mind, Kirishima laughed at how his friend was just all bark as he knew Bakugou wouldn’t actually beat him up that bad… probably.
Kirishima blinked, “Wait, what?”
“Yeah, bro,” Denki butted in, looking slightly annoyed as well. “You’ve been going on about ‘(L/n)’s hair looks great today’, ‘(L/n) looks so cute with her nose scrunched up when she chews her food’, ‘(L/n) looks so good in her uniform today.’ Like bro, you say she looks great in her uniform everyday, which I won’t argue, she do be looking mighty fine in a school uniform,” Denki trailed off as he leaned back in his seat as he stared at the girl in question, looking suspiciously like he’s trying to get a better view of her ass.
At that realization, Kirishima glared at the pervy, knockoff pikachu and kicked his shin hard.
Denki yelped, high-pitched and whiny as he brought up his leg, tendly rubbing the spot that was kicked. “Oooww, dude! What the hell?”
“Don’t look at her like that,” Kirishima growled, eyes glaring daggers.
Denki puts his arms up in surrender, cowarding before his suddenly intimidating friend. “Okay, okay! I’m sorry, I won’t stare at your girl again!”
Blood quickly rushed to the red-head’s cheeks, painting them a rosy color. “Wha- She’s not my girl!”
“You wouldn’t be able to tell with the way you look at her with that lovey-dovey expression on your face and how you follow her around like a lost puppy,” Sero intervened, casually leaned back in his seat with his hands behind his head, the straw from his drink dangling from his lips.
“Yeah what he said,” Denki agreed, still tenderly rubbing his injured leg.
“That’s not-” Kirishima tripped over his words. “We’re just hanging out! I do the same thing with you guys!”
“Yeah. but if ya compare how much time you spend with us vs. (L/n), you’re practically non-existent in our group hangouts,” Sero laughed at his friend’s red face that is one shade off from blending into his hair.
“Guys, com’on. I- I just-” Kirishima was waving his hands, trying to think of something to say.
“Quite making fucking stupid-ass excuses,” Bakugou butted in. “Do you like Lamp or not?” Kirishima nodded hesitantly before glancing back over to your table as if nervous that you would hear this conversation even when you were like 4 tables away in this noisy cafeteria. “Then be a fucking man, or some shit, and fucking tell her already before I pop a goddamn blood vessel from all your fucking lovey dovey shit and whinning!”
Kirishima blinked thinking about his best friend’s words. After a moment, Kirishima gave the pomeranian his usual bright grin that could blind anyone who witness, hence why Denki and Sero simutaniously brought out sunglasses and place them high on their noses, and Bakugou’s squinting. Standing up suddenly, he declared, “You’re absolutely right! I have to man up and tell her how I feel!”
The commotion of Kirishima’s declaration turned around all the heads in the cafeteria, causing the red head’s cheeks to heat up again as he became fully aware of all the pairs of eyes on his 6’4” self. After giving a hasty apology, Kirishima plops back down, leaning on the table and covering his eyes with his big hands. Unknown to him, a pair of disheartened (e/c) orbs glanced at the embarrassed red-head with a sadden longing lingering in them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“You’re staring at him again,” Mina, your number one best friend, noted in a singsong voice, popping another french fry in her mouth.
“What? Staring at who?” You questioned, immediately picking at your side salad, suddenly having lost interest in eating.
“Oh com’on. I saw you looking at Kirishima again.” Mina nudged you with her elbow. “Why don’t you just tell him already?”
You looked at her in confusion. “Tell him what?”
“That you’re completely and hopelessly in love with him,” she gave off a teasing lovey-dovey sigh.
Heat rushed into your cheeks. “I-...” You stuttered, going back to jabbing at your salad. “I don’t know what your talking about.”
“Oh, please gurl,” Mina scoffed. “It’s so obvious, it’s kinda painful watching. Why don’t you go talk to him?”
“What do you mean? We talk everyday, we’re best friends just like you and me,” You defended. “Besides,” You absentmindedly twirl a lock of your hair around your finger. “I doubt he’d be into someone like me. I mean, I’m not all that special.”
“Are you kidding? You’re freaking gorgeous, how could he not love you?” Mina asked.
“I just feel like, I don’t know, maybe I’m too plain for him?”
Mina rolled her dark eyes before grabbing your shoulders, and turned you around towards the other girls sitting with them.
“Gals,” she called, turning all five heads. She slung an arm over your shoulder and pointed at you. “Smash or pass?”
They all simultaneously replied, “Smash.”
“See? You are not just a plain, ol’ girl. You’re beautiful, and you’re kind, and fun. Why wouldn’t he like you?” Mina glanced at the Kirishima, watching as Kaminari and Sero poking fun at the gentle giant. She may or may not know Kirishima’s feelings about you, having picked them up a while ago.
Your blushed increased. “I don’t know. He’s just so sweet, and determined, and I just… Sometimes I feel like he’s way out of my league,” you sighed solemnly.
Mina hummed, thinking. “Well that’s too bad then. I think you guys would make such a cute couple.”
“That’s nice of you to say,” you thanked, a bittersweet smile resting on your lips. “But you heard him just now. He already has someone he likes.” You sighed, “Looks like I’m too late.”
Mina decided then and there, she was going to be both of your wingman, determined to get her two friends together by this weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking down into the common room later after school, with a nice blouse and a pair of skinny jeans with a purse hanging from your shoulder, you come to see the BakuSquad hanging on the couches.
“Alright Mina, I’m ready. Let’s go,” You happily say, waiting for her on the side of the sofa she and Kirishima were lounging on.
Kirishima looked up from his phone, seeing you all dressed up causing a faint blush to rise. “You look good! Where are you going?”
His compliment on your outfit causing heat to rise in your cheeks as well. “Um, Mina and I were going to head to the mall for snacks and clothes.”
“Oooh yeah about that,” Mina started, smiling sheepishly. “I can’t go with you.”
Your face fell a bit. “What? Why?”
“Some personal business came up, But hey! Why doesn’t Kirishima here go with you?” Mina nudged the giant next to her with her elbow.
Kirishima bounced onto his feet in excitement at the thought of you two alone together. “Yeah, let’s go!”
“You don’t have to Kiri, I can go by myself-”
“Nonsense!” Mina interjected. “Kirishima was just telling me he wasn’t doing anything today. Plus you’re going to be needing both an extra pair of hands and eyes if your going to be shopping for clothes.”
You looked ay her in confusion. “I mean, I suppose. But if he doesn’t want-”
“I do!” he shouted, interrupting you into a shocked silence. Clearing his throat, he continued, “Ahem, I mean… I do. I don’t mind tagging along.”
“Alright,” You smiled, your cheeks still feeling warm and butterflies swarming your stomach at being alone with your crush. “If you’re ready, we can go now.”
“Uh,” Kirishima patted his pockets. “Give me a minute to go get my keys and wallet,” he said, before full on sprinting up the staircase towards his room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Here we are,” Kirishima announced, turning off the engine to his beat-up, red pickup truck.
“Thanks for coming along with me Kiri,” you smiled at him.
“It’s no problem, really. I like spending time with you.” His smile was tender and genuine.
“That’s sweet of you. I like spending time with you too,” you said, reaching for the handle of the door.
“Nuh-uh, what do you think you’re doing?” He gently grabbed your forearm, effectively stopping you from opening the door.
You quirked an eyebrow in confusion. “Opening the door to get out??”
“Nope, not while I’m around. A lady shouldn’t have to open a door when a man is with her. I’ve told you this before,” He shakes his head in mock disappointment, not effectively hiding the upturn of the corner of his mouth. “What’s wrong with you?”
He steps out of the truck, quickly rounding the truck and reaching your door to open it. “Seriously Kiri, it’s not that big of a deal,” you said, stepping out of the truck and onto the asphalt, watching as Kirishima locked the truck before walking side by side to the giant building.
“What kind of man would I be if I didn’t open the door for you,” Kirishima asked rhetorically.
You giggled at his catchphrase, or rather catchword. As you two entered the mall, you mindlessly glanced at the stores around you. “So you’re going to buy new clothes?
“Yeah, and some snacks, too, for Girl’s Night tonight.”
“Any reason for buying more clothes?”
“Um…” You started blushing again. “It’s kinda embarrassing.”
“Oh, I get it. You don’t have to share if you don’t have to,” Kirishima reassured, not wanting to make you uncomfortable.
“Thanks,” you smiled gratefully.
You two continue on your way towards the clothing stores, when a shout suddenly sounded throughout the mall and people screamed. You both looked at each other before rushing over. There was a commotion, a young man had a kid hostage in front of the store.
“Give me my son back! Please!” A woman screamed, sounding terrified.
“Mommy!” the boy cried.
“A-Alright, listen up!” the young man stuttered, his whole body trembling as he held up his fingers to the boy’s temple in a gun position. “N-nobody try anything or else this boy is gonna get it!” Everyone stayed still as they nervously listened to his commands. “Everyone here h-hand over whatever money y-you have on you, including you register boy, or else the boy’s not going to be breathing anymore!”
“Robbery, one hostage,” you whispered to Kirishima next to you.
“And his quirk still unknown. We should be cautious about this, otherwise the kid’s gonna get hurt,” Kirishima added.
“Okay so what should we do?”
“How about I sneak up behind him while you get the kid away from him,” Kirishima suggests
“Fine with me,” you agree, going over to a potted plant as to hide your purse. “Let’s go.”
Gathering a small bit of sunlight in your palm, you directed the beam to the robber’s face, not powerful to cause permanent damage to him, but enough to temporarily blind him long enough for you to get the frightened boi away from him.
As soon as the robber yelped in surprise and closing his eyes, you sprinted forward and shoved the blinded robber away from the boy to which he fell against Kirishima who held him in a restraining hold while you jumped back with the little boy in your arms to put a bit more distance just in case. As the robber struggled again Kirishima, who didn’t even budge with all the squirming, you checked over the crying boy for any signs of injury.
Just as you were about to let the boy run over to his mother, the criminal being held by the hulking tank that is Kirishima, pressed his finger gun to Kirishima’s face and a loud bang sounded as he apparently shot at the redhead, a bullet of fire hitting him in the cheek. On instinct, Kirishima activated his quirk to protect himself, but since it was so sudden, he let of of the robber out of surprise. Once he was free, the robber aimed at the boy in front of you and fired.
Without hesitation, you threw yourself over the boy to protect him. Since you handle sunlight, you can take a bit of heat, unfortunately though… your clothes couldn’t. Next thing you knew, your blouse was catching on fire. You tried patting the fire out but obviously it wasn’t working so without thinking, you ripped off your shirt and threw it on the ground, leaving you in just your red, lacy bralette.
A thud sounded from behind you, making you turn around battle-readied, only to see Kirishima with his harden fist hanging in the air and the robber out cold on the ground. “Oh,” you said, “guess you handled that.”
Kirishima gave out a nervous chuckle, a red hue on his cheeks as he looked away. “Uh, yeah…”
A sudden shiver ran down your spine, reminding you of your current state. You let out a shriek, your cheeks now on equal footing with your crush’s red hair. You tried your best to cover yourself, your cheeks getting hotter by the second. Your embarrassment growing as well, as the stupid teenage boys your age started cat whisling at you.
Kirishima couldn’t help his red cheeks when he saw you in your bra, turning his head as to respect your privacy, but as soon as he heard the cat calls, he snapped his head towards the source; a group is rowdy guys his age looking over your general direction.
Wait… were they whistling at you?!
Glancing at you he catches how you were squirming and red in the cheeks, uncomfortable.
Nope. Not happening.
Without much thought, he took off his t-shirt he was wearing, leaving him bare, and went over to hand it to you. “Here, you can use this to cover up,” he said, the heat not entirely have left his cheeks as he trained his eyes solely on your sparkling, (e/c) eyes.
“What about you?” You asked, timidly reaching the shirt.
“No worries. Let’s just cover you up first,” he smiled reassuringly.
Smiling back gratefully, you took the offered clothing and went about putting it on. Meanwhile the group of teens were practically drooling over your figure. That is until Kirishima stepped into their view, arms across his chest with a glare starring daggers and a warning directing at them, his huge hulking frame completely blocking you from their hungry eyes. Being shirtless allowed Kirishima’s hardcore muscles to be displayed in all of their glory. It seems the red head’s goal was working, considering the group all froze up at the sight of his 6’4” muscular build, with not an ounce of fat visible. It took a moment for one of them to unfreeze and quietly urge his companions to move along before the frightening stranger decided to beat them to a pulp.
Satisfied with their scampering away with their tails between their legs, Kirishima turns back around only to be met with your figure practically drowning in his t-shirt. The heat made a complete comeback to his cheeks.You looked so adorable standing there in his clothes.
Before long, the mall’s security made their way over where they took their statements and the unconscious robber and bid the two young heroes their grattitudes before moving along to wait for the police to come and take the criminal away. Once they left, the boy and his mother walked up to you two to give their thanks as well, with the boy excitedly asking for Red Riot’s and (h/n)’s autograph which you both happily gave him, along with a picture being taken. Once the boy was satisfied and proclaiming to never washing his shirt, he and his mother left.
Kirishima turned to you. “You sure you’re okay? You’re not hurt or anything?”
You gave him a reassuring smile as you walked over to the planter in which you had hid your purse. “I’m fine. The fire didn’t burn me or anything, but I might have a bruise from where it hit me. Nothing that I can’t handle.”
“Good, good,” Kirishima nervously rubbed the back of his head.
When you secured your purse over your shoulder, you grabbed his free hand and walked in the direction of the clothing store you usually shopped at. “C’mon. The sooner we get my clothes shopping started, the sooner you can have your shirt back.” Though you didn;t really want to part with his shirt. It was completely engulfing you in his scent, something musky and manly that made you swoon.
“Aw, you don’t like seeing me shirtless?” Kirishima teased.
Hell yes, you thought to yourself. You’d have to be blind or gay to not drool over his washboard abs and bulging biceps, which you were desperately trying not to do. You didn’t want to come off as a pervert but it was hard to ignore the butterflies furiously partying around in your stomach and the intense heat coming off your cheeks.
“Yes,” you whispered, hoping to God that he didn’t hear you. He did, of course, which gave both his ego and the heat in his cheeks a nice boost. Before he could comment on it, you started, “Here we are. This is where I like to buy my clothes.”
Looking up, Kirishima saw the both of you walking towards (insert favorite clothing store).
~~~~~
Mina, having been standing far enough away from you two so as not to be noticed, grinned and squealed and she happily clapped her hands and did a little happy dance. She had followed you two as to figure out how to get you and Kirishima close, but lo and behold a robber with a fire type quirk came along, albeit she hadn’t really planned for this part to happen at all, but when your shirt was set ablaze and you tore it off in a panic, she had the perfect plan.
She had walked up to the group of teens earlier all flirty and bribed them to go over and give you plently of unwanted attention for some extra cash. Though judging by their snarky appearance, she had bet it wouldn’t be too much trouble for them to start drooling all over you.
Mina did feel a bit bad, exposing you like that and making you uncomfortable, but for the sake of the personal, covert mission she assigned herself to get her two friends together, she knew it would be well worth it. Plus you had the gentle, red-headed giant with you to comfort you in your time of distress so she didn’t let it hold her back too much.
Having the group return a bit shaken from the encounter with Kirishima, one of them shakily asked the pinkette, “W-Was that good enough?”
Giving them her signature grin, Mina handed over a few yen bills as agreed upon. “Yup! Thanks for your help guys!”
Muttering a ‘no problem’, the males continued along their way, counting the money they’ve earned, undoubtedly planning on spending it on drinks or food. Mina glanced back at you two as you lead Kirishima to your favorite store, the giant red-head’s posture now screaming protectiveness over your dignity. She was well assured that her plan to give you guys he right nudge was a success, knowing that Kirishima was planning on confessing his love to you today from her little conversation with the other guys of the Bakusquad.
Satisfied with her work, the cheerful pinkette skipped her way to her favorite store as to buy the required snacks for their girl’s night that evening, confident that you wouldn’t be returning until much later that night after your date.
~~~~~
Right away, as soon as you two entered the store, you stop by a rack of clothes, excitedly sifting through the hanging clothes.
“Sooo…” Kirishima started. “Is there a specific reason why you’re getting new clothes? Or are you just getting them for the hell of it?” He asked, mindlessly lifting up a blouse, examining it and then putting it back, and that’s when he looked up. Immediately, he felt a sweat drop sliding down the side of his face at all the hungry, drooling ladies in the store shamelessly staring at his bare torso.
“Um, I guess you can say a bit of both,” you responded, checking out a blouse that seems to have caught your attention. “I accidentally burned some of my blouses when using my quirk.”
“How’d you managed that?” Kirishima found what appears to be a pink sleeping shirt that said ‘Donut Worry Be Happy’ with sprinkles all over and a donut in the middle. “Hey this is cute,” Kirishima said, showing you the shirt. He was silently begging you to get it, he knew you’d be adorable in it and he was desperate to see it in person.
You looked over to see the shirt your best friend was holding up. “Oh my god!” You squealed excitedly, taking the shirt from him. “I love this! I’m so getting this. Great find, Kiri!”
Once you turned around, Kirishima silently fist pumped in victory. “Well, anyway. You know how a magnifying glass can concentrate the sunlight and you can start fires with it? Well my quirk is kinda like that. And because of that, there has been more than one occasion where I accidentally burnt my clothes, as much I hate to admit it.”
“Oh, okay I get it,” Kirishima said.
After finding a couple more outfits, you dragged your very shirtless, very hot best friend to the dressing rooms to get his opinion on the outfits you chose. As you showed off the outfits you chose, to which Kirishima said that each one looked great on you.
You guys were started getting goofier, as time went on, you two acted as if you were in a fashion show, with you strutting around in a new outfit each time striking a new pose every minute, even going as far as fixing your hair in messy styles for each one, be it a quick, braid, bun, or ponytail.
As Kirishima patiently waited for you to step out with the next shirt, you called out. “Oh my god, I think this one is my favorite so far! I think this would great with heels though. Hey Kiri?”
“Yeah?”
“You see those heels I was eyeying earlier before we came to here?”
Looking to his left where the wall was covered with shelves and shelves of shoe boxes plus the ones on display, he sees the pair you were talking about. “The white heels, right?” He asked, already walking over to them.
“Yeah, can you see if they have (insert shoe size)?”
Mumbling the shoe size you gave him as he scanned the boxes, he spots the only size that you requested. “You are in luck, milady. There is only one left.”
“Thank you very much, my good sir,” you giggled reaching your hand out for the shoes without revealing the shirt you were wearing. “I’ll be but a moment,” you impersonated a proper tone hand and shoes disappearing behind the closed curtain again.
While Kirishima waiting idly (and trying his best to ignore the hungry stares still directed at him), he decided to ask for some dating intel in the form of small talk. “So hey, random question. Have you ever thought about dating?” Yeah, so not obvious. Way to go, Kirishima.
You paused your struggle with the second heel strap. “What kind of question is that? Of course I have.”
“Oh,” Kirishima simply said. “So, you have a crush on anyone?”
Staying in your position in front of the full-length mirror, you thought about it. Obviously, you had a big fat crush on the male just on the other side of the curtain, but was this his way of finding out if you liked anyone for himself or just out of curiosity? “Yeah… there is someone I really like, but I doubt he’s noticed me at all.”
“Oh? What’s he like?” Kirishima asked, nervous as all hell that you liked someone else.
“Well, he has spiky hair.. Gorgeous red eyes that shine like rubies… he looks intimidating as hell when you first see him, but actually nice once you get to know him… and he’s really handsome, too,” you blushed, lightly hugging yourself as you pictured Kirishima in your head.
Said male had gone quiet, his heart dropping all the way down into his stomach, the weight feeling like a bowling ball. Wait… Do… Do you have a crush on Bakugou?! “Oh… um… he-he sounds like a lucky guy,” Kirishima responded, trying to keep the tremor and disappointment out of his voice.
Dammit, am I too late? Kirishima cursed his reluctance at approaching you with his feelings.
“W-...What about you? Do you like someone?” You asked, heart hammering in your chest in anticipation to his answer.
“Yes,” he said, causing your heart to stop.
“What’s she like? She’s gotta be amazing for you to like her,” you tried to keep your voice cheery, happy that your best friend had found someone, but a whimper threatened to spill past your lips as tears gathered against your lower lashes, your bottom lip wobbly.
“She’s so amazing. She’s strong, and kind, and sweet, and she’s probably the most beautiful woman I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing,” Kirishima gushed, a dreamy look on his face. “She does (insert hobby 1), and (insert hobby 2), and she’s so good at it. And she can make some really delicious food, though she swears up and down the road that she’s not that great of a cook, but I can’t help but love every single bite of it.”
“That’s… that’s great,” you said, unable to keep out the tear-filled tone out of your voice.
“Wait, are you crying?!” Kirishima panicked.
You sniffled, hugging yourself tighter, “No.”
Kirishima stayed quiet for a moment. And deciding to be a man and take that leap of faith, he continued, “Though, I admit, she is a little dense.”
That caught you off guard. “Huh?”
“I mean, you would think she’d at least notice a little bit how much time I spend with her,” He said, laughing out loud, partly out of nerves. “Or how no matter the hour during the night, if she came to my dorm crying, I would drop everything to make her feel better, and will do the stupidest shit just to see her smile and laugh. Or how she is literally the sunshine of my life, and with her quirk, its just makes it even more true.”
Your eyes widened. Was he talking about someone with a quirk similar to yours? No, it couldn’t be, there was no possible way he was talking about you, it must be some huge coincidence.
“Or how whenever we go stargazing with each other at night, I have never looked up at the sky, not even once, before. No star, or constellations that she makes up could ever compare to the stars in her (e/c) eyes. (Y/N)... you’re just so perfect, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be good enough for you.”
You whipped around so fast, you actually tripped over the clothes that were scattered at your feet, causing you to curse as you fell, hitting you head against the wall of the dressing room with a rather loud thud as you fell right on your bottom.
Hearing the loud, resonating thud, Kirishima panicked and went into hero mode, rushing to pull back the curtain to see if you were harmed or not. Quickly finding you on the floor, tenderly rubbing the back of your head, your expression pinched with slight pain.
“Hey, are you okay?!” Kirishima worried, kneeling down to your level with his arms outstretched as if to catch you should you fall over all of a sudden.
“Yeah, just banged my ass and head is all,” you groaned, still tenderly rubbing the sore spot, sitting up more.
“Here, let me check your head.” Before you could protest that you were perfectly fine, Kirishima gently cradled your head and tenderly pushed your head forward so he could check out the damage that had been done. You instantly shut your mouth, your cheeks blooming into a rosy color at the close proximity, smelling his natural scent coming from his bare skin. “Well, you have a slight bump but that’s about it,” he concluded, letting your head go. “But I don’t know if you’ll end up with a concussion or not.”
You shoke your head, saying in a soft voice, “I doubt it. I’ve hit my head harder on missions.”
Once he was sure enough that you would be alright, it was then that he noticed what you were wearing and he couldn’t help but blush. It was a one sleeved crop top that showed a moderate amount of clevage, the end of it reaching above your cute belly button, and it was such a nice shade of red, almost reminding him of his hair color.
“That’s uh… That’s a really nice blouse,” he complimented, suddenly flustered at how beautiful you looked along with the blouse you were currently wearing looking up at him through your hair which was hanging down, eyes big and doe like.
Completely blanking on the compliment thrown your way, you continued to stare at him in awe as you processed what he had said earlier. “…Did you mean what you said?”
“Oh, uh,” his hand shot up to rub his neck nerviously, chuckling. “Well yeah, of course. It would be pretty unmanly if I lied. And… it would be pretty unmanly for me to not tell you how I feel about you.”
“H-How you feel…?” Kirishima prayed that that sparkle in your (e/c) eyes was hope as you subconsciously leaned closer to him in anticipation.
“I’m just- I’m gonna just come out and say it,” Kirishima said, more to himself though as to encourage himself. Taking a deep breath, reached out and ever so gently held your cheek as though you were fragile and can break at any moment, and looked into those sparkling (e/c) eyes he loved so much. “I really, really like you (Y/n). For a long time now.”
Tears gathered in your eyes as a brilliantly bright smile spread across your beautiful face, rivaling the sun. “Really?”
“Yes really,” Kirishima confirmed, your bright smile bringing forth a bright grin of his own.
“Am I dreaming?” You giggled nervously, hoping to god that he wasn’t pranking you or anything. It all seemed so surreal and like a dream. “You actually like me?”
Kirishima laughed. “I’ll even go as far as say I love you.”
You leaned forward until your forehead bumped with his hard chest, clenching your fists against him. “This isn’t a dream…” you whispered happily. “You actually like me.”
“And I would be just as happy if you will have me as your man,” Kirishima muttered into your hair, bringing his arms around you in a hug.
“Yes!” You didn’t hesitate in accepting his proposal. You squealed in delight as Kirishima squeezed you tight in his arms, rocking the both of you back and forth.
Pulling away, you were blinded by his bright grin. “Let’s go to the movies!”
“What, right now?” You giggled, wiping at your tears.
“Yes! We can do a movie and dinner date! I know the food court isn’t probably the most appealing, but I want to take you on a date right now, especially in that amazing outfit you have on now,” Kirishima rambled, his excitement reminding you of a hyper puppy dog.
“Okay, let’s do it!” You couldn’t help but share his excitement, completely forgetting the fact that you had girl’s night later that evening and the reason you came to the mall was to grab snacks for it.
Right away, Kirishima helped you pick up the clothes that you were going to buy, in the process, finding and putting on his own shirt, insisting that you keep the shirt and wedge heels on for you last minute date. The both of you were practically jumping at the seams with excitement as you went up to the register. Being the gentleman that he is, Kirishima tried insisting that he pay for the clothes and heels for you, but you argued that you were perfectly capable on paying for them on your own, the two of you continued going back and forth as the cashier looked between you two as you argued who was paying as she tried her best not to laugh.
Ultimately you allowed to pay for the shirt you were currently wearing, the sleep shirt he found and the heels, but no more. As you paid the cashier for all the other clothes, you laughed at Kirishima’s grumbling, reaching up to kiss away his pout. After paying, you two had decided to stop by the theaters in the mall to choose and pay for a movie, and this time you let Kirishima pay. As you awaited for the time of the movie, you walked around sharing a pretzel as a snack as you continue doing a bit more shopping, with Kirishima also buying you a stuffed animal because what kind of man would he be if he didn’t buy you a plushie as a memento of your first date?
On your way towards the food court, you could hear Kirishima humming My Only Sunshine with a satisfied expression on his face. “Are you really humming that?” You laughed.
Kirishima grinned down at you, lacing his fingers with yours and swinging your arms. “I can’t help it if you’re the light of my life.”
wAIT and here’s some explanations
Hannibal :
- I mean it’s pretty obvious why he’s up there he’s a god at cooking
- just don’t ask where he gets his meats cause he gives you this really weird smile and side glance before giving a super cryptic answer
- but the salad was good so it’s cool
Ash Williams :
- this man was BORN to cook
- attachable hand parts means he can make an attachable knife extension for his hand and that makes chopping shit 50000% faster. not only that, he now has an excuse to wear his “kiss the cook” apron he found again recently
- the attachment possibilities are endless- spatulas, knifes, spoons, shut maybe even a PAN if you’re feelin REALLY fuckin wild-
Bubba Sawyer :
- his momma def taught him how to cook No I Don’t Take Constructive Criticism
- he’s the master at grilling tho since it’s more of his element, but unlike Hannibal if you ask where the meats came from he’ll just straight up point to the body part of the person and move on with his task of grilling his good ass BBQ
Candyman :
- I mean he cooks well cause he’s a refined gentleman whom likes anything artistic, so Of Course he taught himself how to cook
- doesn’t do it v often but still likes it a lot even tho for some reason, no matter the circumstance, he always manages to burn the bread in the toaster
- damned 21st century technology (his best element is a gas stove since it’s what he’s used to)
Thomas Hewitt :
- v v good at making like a few dishes hearty dishes in particular but can’t really do much else besides those???
- likes to mix it up sometimes with experimentation if he has the time or patience but most of the time he just leaves it to Momma
Stu Matcher :
- his parents are barely ever home because of work so like he usually ends up eating boxed macaroni or frozen pizzas if there aren’t any leftovers in the fridge or, his personal favorite, hot dogs
- he usually just invites billy over for takeout tho so they can spend time together and billy doesn’t have to be around his dad
Jason Vorhees :
- the guy may not have to eat but he misses his momma’s cooking okAY-
- he’ll bust out the cookbook with her own little annotations sometimes just to try and replicate it for nostalgias sake, and even though he can’t really get all the ingredients, he’s gotten really good at remaking some of his personal favorites
- it’s not really the same though, not how he remembers at least
Chromeskull :
- I mean he can kinda cook but like barely though since he has other people to do it for him since he’s ✨rich✨ and stuff
- he can follow box instructions and make grilled cheese with an iron tho if that counts
Billy Loomis :
- can’t cook to save his life but knows how to make boxed macaroni
- he would be a pretty good cook if he had the patience to go through the process of learning
- but his tolerance is so thin that he just says “fuck it” as soon as shit hits the fan and leaves to go to Stu’s house for takeout
Vincent Sinclair :
- surprisingly he actually doesn’t do most of the cooking since him and Bo just eat fast food or sometimes cooked stuff if one of them is feeling up to it
- but he knows how to make a few things and actually knows how to modify recipes to make them better based on deduction and shit like that
- kinda lost on what to do tho so it’s best just to give him a task if you need help
Asa Emory :
- two words: microwaveable lunches
- my G got this shit down to a T on when it’s the right time to take them out, how long it takes to cool down, what cool down applies to what food- he’s basically got everything memorized since he eats them so much
- they’re quick and don’t waste his time, so it’s good enough to him
Bo Sinclair :
- no. fuck no.
- there’s no way in hell hes walking in there- he’s not even all that terrible at cooking but he has this weird habit of setting things WAY to high on the guise that they’ll cook faster, but he gets sidetracked so easily that they burn and he gets pissed off halfway through
- the best course of action is to just avoid that shit show all together and let him eat his sandwich meat and shredded cheese at 3 am in peace
Brahms Hellshire :
- good fucking god- having this oversized man-child in the room while you’re preparing food is like having one of those annoying as dogs who are always at your feet when they smell food
- he’s all up under you for pieces and bits of what you’re cooking and Does Not Stop until you give him what he wants
- and good luck giving him tasks to do to keep him busy, the ass is just gonna drop it and leave if he gets bored or get sidetracked with something else pretty quickly since he doesn’t like labor
Billy :
- what the FUCK is a stove and why are you putting the meat on there
- wait,,, you’re supposed to eat that meat while it’s COOKED? :000 what the hell, can he have some too then? he’s so used to just eating everything by itself since like no one cooked for him as a kid that he just consumes all that’s in sight and moves on like a little rat
- you can give this man an entire piece of raw chicken and he will eat it in front of you like it’s normal cause he’s That Kinda Bitch
Michael Myers :
- y’all sayin this dude is good at chopping and stuff on the assumption that he would willingly cook or enter a kitchen for anything labor intensive in the first place
- like yeah you’re doing great with making that brisket but there’s no way in hell hes chopping those carrots for you
- and yes he’s still eating some, try and stop his 6’7” ass. go ahead, he’s waiting. that’s what he thought now move he’s hungry
Freddy Krueger :
- no, no no no. he’s going to burn the house down if you leave him to his own devices. and not unintentionally. he will burn down the house and the food will be burnt and charred and inedible
- leaving him to just watch over it will result in a worldwide catastrophe, it’s best to just keep him OUT of the kitchen no matter how much he begs you for pieces of what you’re making or steals parts of your ingredients
- the spray bottle will resolve that now resist and keep him OUT
1.
For once, Loki woke up this morning before Mobius.
Leaning on his hand, he took the opportunity to watch his beloved while he slept.
As he gazed at the sleeping features of his lover, he was once again taken aback by the strength of his feelings.
Loki had little or no experience with love, so he had nothing to compare to what he was experiencing with Mobius right now.
No one had made him feel the way the man made him feel.
It was as if Mobius had wrapped his roots around Loki's heart little by little but without imprisoning him.
Mobius' love had set him free.
In return, Loki's feelings had taken root in Mobius' constancy.
Sometimes Loki liked to think about how his feelings had developed, because it had all happened so quickly that he had never been able to enjoy those stolen first moments.
It would be hard for Loki to say exactly when he had begun to notice that his relationship with Mobius was different from any relationship he had had before, but what he was sure of was that no one had ever been able to see through him as quickly as Mobius.
"I don't like to talk."
"But you do like to lie, which you just did. Because we both know you love to talk. Talkie-talkie."
Honestly, at that moment, Loki thought fondly, if he hadn't been so angry at being found out, he would have laughed.
As a matter of fact, it had become a fond memory for them. Whenever Loki would go into one of his grandiloquent tirades, Mobius would simply make this little gesture with his hand and would mouth "Talkie Talkie"
" You don't know anything about me.
"Maybe I'd like to learn."
It was probably at that moment that Mobius had begun to touch something in Loki that no one had ever touched. The fact that anyone would even bother to genuinely learn about him was in itself new. Except for his mother and Thor, most people had always assumed the worst of him.
"Honestly, I'm actually a fan. Yeah. And I guess I'm wondering why does someone with so much range just wanna rule?
Mobius had been the first to make him question himself.
Of course, at the time, he was not at all receptive to what Mobius' words really meant.
It had taken him some time to admit the truth.
The moment he had admitted it, the naked truth, without any more artifice, he had been ready to receive the final blow, the ratification of his vileness, but no, nothing like that.
"Because it's part of the illusion. It's the cruel, elaborate trick conjured by the weak to inspire fear."
"'A desperate play for control.' You do know yourself."
"A villain."
"That's not how I see it."
That's not how I see it.
At that moment, Loki's heart had pounded for the first time.
The man in front of him had seen all the lowliness that Loki was capable of and yet he did not see him as a villain.
From the first hours of their meeting, he had made it impossible for Loki not to love him and from then on, his feelings had grown exponentially.
2.
As he walked down the path of his memories, Loki continued to gaze at Mobius as he slept. A small miracle in itself for Loki.
Knowing who Loki was, Mobius slept in his presence. The perfect image of absolute trust.
Loki sometimes still had trouble feeling worthy of such trust.
Seeing him sleeping like that, he thought of the day when he himself had first fallen asleep in this way with Mobius.
The day he fell a little more in love with Mobius.
It started with Mobius taking the blame for the failure of their first mission together, when it was all Loki's fault. They could have just pruned him, but no, Mobius had pleaded his case to Ravonna.
Then Loki had presented his theory to Mobius, admittedly with a rather shaky metaphor, even ruining one of his lover's favorite dishes.
"Well, here's a fun theory. You lure me out into the field, and then you stab me in the back. And that's a theory I don't wanna test."
"I'd never stab anyone in the back. That's such a boring form of betrayal."
"Loki, I've studied almost every moment of your entire life. You've literally stabbed people in the back, like, 50 times."
"Well, I'd never do it again, because it got old."
Mobius laughed and chose to follow Loki's theory, even though Loki had given him no reason to believe in him until now. Even though his theory was based on almost nothing, Mobius had chosen to believe Loki.
Then they returned from Pompeii and something happened that had never happened to Loki, he had fallen asleep. Loki, who was distrustful of everything and nothing, had simply fallen asleep in the presence of someone he hardly knew. As if his heart had understood before his mind that he had nothing to fear from Mobius.
When Mobius had woken him up, Loki's heart had pounded for the second time, and it wasn't fright that had caused it, but the realization that Loki was falling in love and falling deeply.
3.
As he looked up from his contemplation of Mobius, Loki's gaze fell on the photo that lay on his nightstand. A memory of their first vacations, when Mobius had finally realized his dream. In the middle of the paradisiacal decor of an island in Midgard, Loki had taken this photo of Mobius piloting -at last- a jetski. So much joy on his face.
Another thing that made Loki fall in love a little more: the passion of his lover for some small insignificant things.
Josta, salad, jet-ski...
"You know, some things... Actually, most things in history are kinda dumb, and everything gets ruined eventually. But in the early 1990s, for a brief, shining moment, there was a beautiful union of form and function, which we call the jet ski, and a reasonable man cannot differ."
"You ever been on one?"
"No... No. I think a TVA agent showing up on a jet ski on the Sacred Timeline, that would create a branch for sure."
"Oh it'd be fun, though."
"Yeah, it'd be really fun."
"So, why read about them?"
"It just helps remind me of what we're fighting for."
The expression Mobius had had at that moment, when he had said something like that with such candor had made Loki fall even more.
And his heart had pounded for the third time.
While he had sensed that what would happen next would destroy what Mobius believed in, Loki had not been able to stop himself from wanting to protect him and his happiness, and to hope that one day he would be able to realize his dream.
With his eyes on the photo commemorating a very real memory, he felt a sense of satisfaction, because his lover had been able to realize this dream and Loki had been there to witness it.
4.
"Loki... Don't go..."
Loki's eyes returned from the picture to his lover, whose features were now tense, probably from a nightmare.
"I'm here love, I'm not leaving. I'm staying with you."
Saying this, Loki gently strokes Mobius' cheek and his expression immediately relaxes. After a few seconds,he was sleeping peacefully again.
Loki didn't need to read Mobius' mind to know what he had dreamed.
He had known that he had taken a huge risk when he had decided to follow Sylvie and he had known that the reunion with Mobius would not be easy.
After all, he had betrayed him. But of all the acts of betrayal that Loki had been guilty of, this was the one that had cost him the most. Because of the feelings he was beginning to have for Mobius.
But what he hadn't imagined was that Mobius would almost turn into a jealous lover, even though at that point they didn't have that kind of relationship at all.
Loki had been incredibly surprised that it wasn't Loki's betrayal that had hurt Mobius the most, but the fact that he had made a connection with Sylvie.
"Come on. Look at your eyes. You like her."
"You like her. Does she like you?"
"Both of you were just swooning over each other."
"It's breaking my reality right now. What an incredible seismic narcissist. You fell for yourself."
"I'm supposed to believe your terrorist girlfriend"
"What, your female self that you have some demented crush on…"
Loki's heart had pounded for the fourth time when he realized what it could mean. He had fallen a little more at the thought of Mobius, at the thought that the man might be jealous, at the thought of what it might mean about Mobius' feelings for him.
5.
Then there had been that moment of grace, the exact moment when Loki had known that he was definitely in love with Mobius.
For the first time, when everything was against him, someone had chosen to believe in him. That someone was Mobius.
Even though he was clearly angry with Loki, he still listened to him and chose to believe him.
Despite Loki's attempts at manipulation, betrayals, and mistakes, Mobius renewed his faith in him and spoke those words that were imprinted in Loki's head.
"You could be whoever, whatever you wanna be, even someone good. I mean, just in case anyone ever told you different."
Loki's throat tightened as he was overwhelmed by the emotion of the memory.
Mobius had no idea how many wounds he had healed in Loki at that moment.
After what Loki had done, where Odin and Thor had not forgiven him, not only had Mobius forgiven him but even more amazingly, he had shown that he believed that Loki was capable of being good, of doing good.
At that moment, Loki's heart did not pound once, but thousands of times, at full speed.  Because of the joy and love that filled it.
The sudden disappearance of Mobius just afterwards had been all the more cruel. Because at that moment, they didn't know about the Void and Loki had thought Mobius was lost forever. He had been devastated.
He couldn't help but touch Mobius' face, gently so as not to wake him, then he whispered softly, "You too Mobius, do not ever leave me."
+1
They had found each other again.
When he first saw Mobius after he thought he had lost him, it only confirmed Loki's feelings for Mobius.
The way his heart had pounded at the sight of the one he loved was impossible to ignore.
So when they had to part once again, Loki had not been able to resist the pull of his heart, and instead of grabbing Mobius' hand, he had taken the man in his arms.
Loki had held Mobius in his arms many times since that moment, but he would never forget the feeling of that first hug. The feeling that the universe was in place. That he was where he belonged, that he was home.  He had expressed without words all that he felt and Mobius had answered him in the same way. They had to part again, but this time the bond between them was undeniable and unbreakable.
They had to go through a lot to finally enjoy their love, without the sword of Damocles, without the threat of the end of the world, or of a multiversal war over their heads, but they had made it. They were here now.
With each passing day, Loki fell a little more in love.
The Midgardian saying, I love you more than yesterday and less than tomorrow, had become his.
Because every time he looked at Mobius and realized the love they shared, he felt like it was stronger.
Mobius moved in his sleep, making the sheet slide off his shoulder.
Loki could not resist and leaned over to kiss the bare shoulder. Mobius woke up and turned to face Loki with a sleepy smile on his lips.
"Hey there handsome," Mobius whispered to Loki, gently kissing Loki's cheek. Loki's heart fluttered in a familiar way now, at such gentleness and at the adoration he read in his lover's eyes.
"Hey love," whispered Loki.
Mobius kissed him, his lips pressing lazily against Loki's. Loki smiled and kissed him back, happy.
Together they enjoyed the delights of a perfect, quiet morning.
Magical Bitching
Summary: When a new magical threat arrives in NYC Dr.Strange and Wanda need some magical help but Loki and Agatha in one place can only mean one thing, chaos and the start of a beautiful friendship
A/N: You can't imagine how much fun I had while writing this :)
Tag list: @escapetodreamworld @midnight-lestrange @king-star @ynscrazylife @booklovinbi @mysticfalls01 @adorkwithaplan @nathaslosttheirshit @agathaharkness-simp @paulawand
To say that Strange was busy was an understatement. He was currently fighting and evil interdimensional being that somehow  had managed to get to New York, interrupting his Sherlock Holmes marathon.
The thing could be described as a big glibbery blob that could fly through the air and spit fire, to say he imagined his afternoon a little bit different wasn't really a surprise. He wasn't alone thankfully, Wanda fighting alongside him. The young witch had recently moved into the Sanctum, training her powers under his and Wong's guidance. Even though they were both pretty strong the blob was becoming more and more of a challenge, splitting into mini blobs if you hit it with the same spell twice. It was very annoying. So he did something he swore he would only do if there was no other option. He called for Loki.
After their, let's call it a disagreement, they had sorted out some kind of truce, deciding the fabric of the universe was more important than their personal differences.
He and Wanda were just fighting a horde of mini blobs when they started turning purple, crumbling to the ground and fading into nothing. They turned around to see Agatha fling another dozen of the annoying blobs against a building, crushing them against the wall.
He looked at Wanda who was staring at the other witch in disbelief, shock the prominent emotion on her face, annoyance not far behind.
"Did you call her?"
The young witch asked, Sokovian accent present. Something he had noticed that happened when she was emotional or annoyed.
He was about to answer when they saw green sparks dancing around another small army of the annoying creatures, capturing them in a magic barrier and crushing until there was only interdimensional alien goo left.
"No I called him."
Strange answered with a sigh, pointing to a building to their far right where Loki just teleported, throwing a couple magical daggers at the slime monsters.
Wanda dropped her head into her hands, staring at him in disbelief.
"Great now we not only have to fight that stupid blob thing but also have to deal with grumpy and petty."
He lifted an eyebrow at the nicknames and shot her an amused look.
"Who is who? "
She just wanted to answer him when they saw another horde of blobs heading their way. Looking at each other they nodded, ready to attack.
Flying high in the air Wanda shot some energy blasts in their direction, giving Strange the opportunity to catch them and send them back into their dimension. She was about to round the corner when she saw something flying towards her, turning around she brought up a barrier to defend herself but the attack never came as Agatha landed not far from her, using another spell to open a portal the witch flung them in its general direction, the portal catching them and making them vanish. More blobs started to appear and Wanda realised that the situation was getting more and more out of control.
She was ready to attack the remaining creatures when she heard a roar, whipping her head around she stared at the new creature that just appeared on top of a nearby skyscraper. It kinda looked like a dragon with for two sets of wings and tentacles, spitting some kind of toxin and fading in and out of existence. Wanda groaned, their day wasn't bad enough already with the blob thing, a fancy dragon squid wasn't really some she needed today as well.
Agatha floated next to Wanda, bored expression on her face. It wasn't something she hadn't seen before. These kind of creatures were annoying, sure, but nothing she couldn't handle if she needed to.
Deciding that she did not need to get toxin stains on her new outfit today she turned to Wanda, already regretting what she was about to say.
"You and Strange handle our new guest, I'll handle these fuckers."
Shocked at her offer Wanda turned to her, raising an unbelieving eyebrow.
"You want to help us ?"
"Don't think too long about it or I might change my mind."
Groaning Wanda shot her one last glare before she flew away to help Strange.
Looking around Agatha decided that chasing after each of the annoying creatures was too much of a hassle. She looked around to find a good spot to catch as many of them without doing much work. Spotting a suitable tower in the distance she flew towards it, blasting a couple blobs out of her way as she arrived on the top.
The sight that greeted her was almost comical, there sat Loki, on a beach chair with sunglasses on his head sipping a colourful cocktail, every now and then flicking his hand to catch a blob that got too close to the tower, flinging it towards a portal he had opened not far away.
He lifted his shades as she approached him, snapping his fingers to let another chair appear, nodding his head towards it.
She laughed at the gesture, settling down in the surprisingly comfortable chair, conjuring up her own glasses to block out the sun.
"Never imagined to see you in New York again Trickster."
He only snorted at that, flinging another blob into the portal, a green 178 popping up over the interdimensional gateway.
"Never say never."
Agatha chuckled, flinging a couple creatures towards the portal as well, a purple 154 lighting up. She grinned, she wasn't that far behind.
"I don't understand why heroes always have to be so dramatic, its far more entertaining this way."
The god commented, refilling his drink and conjuring some pastries, grabbing some for himself before he passed the floating tray in her direction.
"Exactly, they are always so extra, always so much drama."
Agatha remarked, grabbing a strawberry cupcake, absently flinging a couple blobs into the portal.
"Strange look out!"
Wanda was panting, she had a cut across her cheek and her suit was burned in a couple places, the toxin and fire having gotten to her at one point.
Strange ducked a blast and ran towards her, shielding himself as he yelled something she couldn't understand over the noise of the battle.
The count over the portal just reached a tie when Agatha had finished her cupcake, tossing the wrapper aside she looked at the tray, deciding which one to try next.
"The lemon cake is divine, you should try it."
Loki supplied, taking a bite from his chocolate covered strawberry, adjusting his shades as they had slipped down his nose a bit.
She took a slice of the lemon cake and refilled the drink the god had offered her as the count had reached 1000, plopping some more ice cubes into the cocktail, it was a hot summer day after all.
Wanda jumped over some rubble, running for cover as she was chased down the ally by not less than 20 slimy creatures. Sometime in the last hour she had broken her wrist, the dull ache in her hand nothing compared to the burning feeling in her legs. She had ran more than ever in her life today. Yelling at Strange who was running besides her to keep going the slid behind some garbage cans.
Panting she looked at him. He was missing an eyebrow and his right sleeve, his boots melted to his trousers from a pretty hot fire ball from one of the creatures.
"The weather is quite nice today, don't you think? "
Agatha remarked, taking a sip of her cocktail, adding more ice as most of it had melted already. They had conjured a sun shade as it got hotter, the temperatures pushing 30⁰C
"A little bit to hot for my liking but it's definitely nice."
Loki answered, taking a bite out of his ice cream. He had change into a sleeveless tunic, pulling his hair into a messy bun, his boots having been replaced by flip flops. He flung his hand towards the portal, a green 735 popping up.
"Seems like im winning Ms. Harkness."
Agatha just laughed as she twisted her hand, sending some blobs into the portal, the purple 737 making her shoot the trickster god a triumphant smile.
"Don't get cocky dear."
Agatha had changed her outfit as well. Now spotting a purple flower dress, the fabric flowing around her knees, sandals instead of heeled boots. They had exchanged the pastries for ice cream at some point, Loki opting for mint and chocolate as Agatha chose blueberry and raspberry. They were just about to decide whether or not to order pizza when they heard a loud bang and smoke started to form a couple blocks in the distance.
Lifting his shades to have a better look on what's going on Loki shot a questioning look in her direction.
"You think they are alright? "
Waving him off Agatha took another bite from her ice cream, settling back in the chair.
"They'll be fine."
"Run"
That was the last thing Wanda heard before all hell broke lose, the building behind them catching fire and the toxin starting to react with it.
Strange grabbed her by the hand and they portaled out of the collapsing building.
Landing roughly on the concrete a couple streets over they groaned. Wanda by now having lost her right boot and part of her jacket. Strange didn't look much better, having lost a chunk of his hair to the fire and a broken ankle thanks to a fall from the third floor. It really wasn’t their day.
Loki and Agatha were just debating whether two servings of bread rolls were too much when an orange portal opened. They turned their heads away from the menu to look at the new arrival.
It was Wong, wearing beach shorts and a hawaii shirt, dragging his own beach chair through the portal.
"The Sanctum is safe, these idiots just don't know how to fight efficiently."
With these words he plopped down on his chair, accepting the menu Agatha offered him.
"Alright we can order two servings of bread rolls now but this won't work without a salad."
Loki commented, scrolling through the menu, debating whether he should order a caesar salad or the tuna one, both sounded delicious.
Having meanwhile conjured a fire pit and some blankets, as the sun was starting to set, they had dragged a table from the Sanctums dining room onto their rooftop. It was surprisingly easy to find a restaurant who delivered on top of a building if you offered to tip a little bit more.
"What do you think, red or white wine?"
Agatha asked as she held up two bottles. She had moved to the table already and had kicked her feet up on the table, watching the sunset as they waited for the food to arrive, distant bangs of fighting heard in the distance.
"I'll take the red wine."
Loki commented from where he was standing, arranging the fairy lights around the roof top. You needed a nice atmosphere to have a nice dinner party after all.
"I think the pizza arrived, I'll be right back."
With these words Wong opened a portal and stepped through it, leaving Agatha and Loki to their own devices. The god was painting his nails, nail polish floating in the air as he carefully applied the second coat of midnight black.
Meanwhile the witch had leaned back in her chair, wine glass in hand as she absently played with a ball of purple energy, illuminating the whole table in a purple glow.
"Today has been a great day, I really needed a day off."
She commented, taking a sip of her wine, taking her feet off the table as Wong appeared with their food, unpacking the pizza cartons and sorting through the food.
Wanda and Strange were done. They had finally managed to defeat the dragon squid thing, the blobs having disappeared a while ago. She had wrapped an arm around his shoulder as he had problems walking with his injured foot, her own wrist hurting like hell.
They were exhausted, smelling like dead dragon and smoke, covered in interdimensional goo and first degree burns.
"This has been a fucking nightmare. "
The sorcerer supreme commented. Wanda just nodding her head, too exhausted to say anything.
"I'd like to make a toast. "
Agatha groaned at Loki's statement, hitting her head on the table. They had had clearly to much alcohol, Loki bringing out some asgardian liquor, Wong bringing some alcohol from his home and she herself conjuring a bottle out of her ever-growing wine collection.
Loki was leaning against the table, having to hold onto it for support. Wong wasn't much better, feet kicked up on the table, glass in hand, refilling all of their glasses with what he call the best liquor you can get on earth.
She wanted to disagree but had to admit it was quite good. Getting up from her chair she raised her glass.
"And what are we making a toast on?"
Loki winked at her, raising his glass as he helped Wong up, the other man the most intoxicated of the trio.
"To this beautiful day and this beautiful friendship. "
"No no no, to magic and bitching about stupid people. "
Wong interrupted, talking about their animated discussion on who had to deal with the most shit.
The two men started arguing, on what they would speak their toast on. Groaning Agatha snapped her fingers, catching the attention of the two sorcerers, lifting her glass she spoke, a little bit more slurred than usual.
"To bitchcraft and the imbeciles we have to deal with on a daily basis. "
"To bitchcraft. "
They all echoed, raising their glasses.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
Wanda asked Strange as they stepped out of the portal onto the rooftop, watching the trio speak a toast.
He just shook his head and pulled her back into the portal.
"I think we both got hit in the head one too many times. "
4x17: It's a Terrible Life
How have we not recapped this yet? Man, this one holds a special place in Boris’s heart -- even if it’s a Cas-less episode. (Natasha: I LITERALLY said the same thing.)
Then:
Tumblr media
This is just gratuitous
Now:
Okay, by this point we know the premise of this episode. I’m just going to list all the Well Respected Man things Dean Smith does.
He wakes up at 6:00am to an iPod.
He steams his rice milk.
He wears suspenders and cufflinks.
He drives a Prius.
He turns off the hard rock for NPR.
Tumblr media
Dean Smith is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Sandover Bridge and Iron.
He types memos in Word.
He uses a headset to talk on the phone.
He plays office mini-golf while schmoozing on said headset.
He watches Project Runway (Ok, Dean Winchester totally watches that too, lbr.)
Tumblr media
HE EATS SALAD.
He says the word ‘vis-a-vis’.
His boss Mr. Adler is very impressed with him. Good stuff!
He works late.
He is thinking of doing the Master Cleanse.
He leaves at 5:30 (or really a couple minutes before, rebel!)
On the elevator ride out of the building, another passenger asks if he knows Dean. Dean, focused on his Blackberry, does not recognize the dude. The other dude won’t let it go and Dean tells him to “save it for the health club” before leaving.
Tumblr media
Sam Wesson works in the Tech Support section of Sandover. He mainly tells people to turn it off and back on again. Works every time! Sam and another buddy, Ian, head for coffee. They ask Paul, another worker, if he wants to join them. He’s busy working! Okay, okay, wait one moment. Paul got caught surfing porn on company computers and he still has a job!? WOW.
Ian grabs some office pencils in the break room. (And we get a nice little intro shot from within the microwave….very nice easter egg for us second (and beyond) viewers.) He then asks Sam about the dreams he’s been having. Sam tells Ian that he dreamed that he saved a grim reaper named Tessa from demons. Ian finds that HILARIOUS.
Tumblr media
At his clown car sized cubicle later, Sam drifts off, only to have vivid visions of murder and monsters --and Dean’s in them. He bolts awake, and looks around disconcerted.
Sam takes a walk and ends up in the same elevator as Dean again. They eye each other warily. Sam asks Dean what he thinks of ghosts. TOTALLY NORMAL ELEVATOR TALK. Dean hasn’t really given them much thought. Vampires either. Sam decides now is a good time to corner a perfect stranger and tell him about his CRAZY dreams. That’s what a journal is for, Sam! Dean dismisses this crazy man and exits the elevator.
Tumblr media
Sam starts researching (AW BABY) the monsters he’s been dreaming about. Ian interrupts him and tells him that he got an email telling him to report to HR. He’s not too worried as he heads off to his fate. Sam then hears Paul freaking out because he just lost a whole day’s work.
Paul stays way past closing time trying to find his lost files to no avail. His breath puffs. They must turn the temp down after hours at Sandover. He heads to the breakroom, sticks a plastic fork in the door of the microwave and sticks his head in the microwave, and hits cook. GOOD STUFF.
Tumblr media
The next day, as Paul’s body gets carted away, the entire office looks on, including Sam Wesson and Dean Smith. Dean thinks there’s something weird going on. He looks up Paul’s personnel file (um, like whoa, how did he get access to that?) and learns that he was set to retire in two weeks. Curious.
Sam is curious as well, but Ian is too busy working to engage. Dean calls Ian up to his office. Dean points out that there were just a few errors in a form he filled out yesterday. Ian is very remorseful. Dean doesn’t think it’s that big of a deal. He just wants him to fix the errors. Very un-Ian-like, Ian starts freaking out over his mistakes. Ian runs to the bathroom and Dean follows. He finds Ian staring at himself in the mirror. His breath frosts just before all the water and soap turn on. He insists Ian leave with him. Ian turns to look at Dean, and stabs himself with a pencil. GUH. Dean sees the reflection of an old man in the bathroom stall door as Ian dies. Dean calls for help.
Tumblr media
Dean is relaying the events to the authorities when he sees Sam looking on. Later, he calls Sam to his office.
For Thirst Science:
Tumblr media
Sam and Dean learn that they both started working at Sandover three weeks prior. (Dean! You picked a hell of a week to start the Master Cleanse!) Sam asks Dean if he saw something when Ian died. Dean doesn’t quite admit it but he saw a ghost! Sam wonders about the suicides. “What if these suicides aren't suicides? I mean, what if they're something not natural?”
Sam brings up his dreams again. “So you're telling me that your dreams are special visions and you're some kind of psychic?” Lololololol. No, OF COURSE NOT. Sam shows Dean emails that Ian and Paul got that sent them to HR on the 14th floor --the HR office is on the 7th floor. Hmm. They decide to head to the 14th floor and room 1444.
Mr. Blandface McBlanderson heads there first. It’s an old storage room. The air gets frosty, electronics buzz on. Sam and Dean rush down the hallway after hearing the man’s cries. The door is locked but Sam Fucking Wesson just busts it open. Dean is duly impressed. Sam is too.
The ghost old man attacks Sam and Dean but Dean smashes him away with a wrench (an IRON wrench).
Decompressing back at Dean’s place, Sam longs for beer. “I’m on a cleanse,” Dean explains as he gets him a water. “I got rid of all the carbs in the house.” Oh DEAN.
At the end of this cleanse you chalk a pentagram on the floor, light a black candle, and barter your soul to get rid of those last five pounds
They compliment each other on their ghost fighting prowess. Sam “Boy Wonder” Wesson briefly tells Dean about how he feels out of place in his life. That’s SO MUCH oversharing, Sam! They decide to hit the research track. Dean finds………..the GHOSTFACERS.
We montage our way through Smith & Wesson’s research, interspersed with Ghostfacer tips. A guy named Sandover turns out to be the ghost - a workaholic who lived for his company. Turns out he’ll kill for it too. They trace a number of historical deaths to Sandover employees. It turns out that the room with the ghost attack was Sandover’s office.
The Ghostfacers continue to educate Sam and Dean on the finer points of ghost hunting: SALT. IRON. GUN.
Tumblr media
Dean absorbs this, then wonders where one might even purchase a gun. Isn’t there a waiting period? Oh, sweet summer child. This here is the United States of America and it’s far too easy to get a gun. The Ghostfacers lesson continues...
Ed: The aforementioned super-annoying Winchester douchenozzles also taught us this one other thing. You have to burn the remains.
Harry: Okay, this next part gets a little gross. Sometimes you might have to dig up the body. Sorry.
Ed: It's illegal in some states.
Harry: All states.
Ed: Possibly all states.
Tumblr media
Smith and Wesson return to the office to search for pieces of non-cremated Sandover. Sam gets cornered by a baby-faced security guard, leaving Dean alone to continue the hunt. In Sam’s elevator, electronics start to glitch. It’s probably nothing! The guard pries open the elevator door and crawls out onto the next floor.
Tumblr media
The elevator slips and the guard falls victim to the blood cannon. Sam adds this incident to his list of Terrible Things That Happen in Elevators.
Sam and Dean reconnect by a historical display which includes Sandover’s gloves. Those gloves seem like likely candidates for remnant DNA...and in short order the ghost proves them right. Old Man Sandover zaps in as they break the glass. They fight!
Tumblr media
Sandover looks like he’s got the upper hand, lowering his brain-zapping fingers to Dean, when Sam lights the gloves on fire. Sandover goes up like a torch.
Tumblr media
Smith and Wesson are amped up after the fight! Sam wants to hunt ghosts full time. Dean scoffs at this. “How would we get by? Stolen credit cards, eating diner food drenched in saturated fats, sharing a crap motel room every night...You don’t want to go fighting ghosts without any health insurance!” Wise words.
For Look at this Well-Prepared Sunshine Science:
Tumblr media
Sam confesses that his hunting dreams featured Dean as well. “What if that’s who we really are?” Sam wonders.
Tumblr media
Dean defends the reality of his life. HE WENT TO STANFORD. His father’s name is Bob, his mother’s name is Ellen, and his sister is Jo. Excuse me. I’m just going to….stand outside my door and HOWL MOURNFULLY about this with the local coyotes.
“We’re supposed to be someone else.” Sam tells Dean that he started at Sandover because he broke up with Madison - but now her number leads to an animal hospital. (I swear to god, I’m gonna chew off my own arm at this show.) Sam says that Dean’s more than just a corporate suit. Dean shoos Sam from his office.
The next morning, Sam’s back at the daily grind. He steps back from his phone and then swings a crowbar at it, Office Space style.
Upstairs, Zachariah smarms his way into Dean’s office and clucks that he looks tired. He’s heard good things about Dean and offers him a generous bonus.
Tumblr media
Zachariah hints that a big promotion could happen in 8-10 short years of constant work and sacrifice. The joy in Dean’s eyes fades. Dean turns it down and tells Zachariah that he plans to quit. “I have some other work I have to do,” Dean tells him. “This - it’s not who I’m supposed to be.” Zachariah smiles and zaps Dean’s brain. The camera desaturates.
“My god am I hungry,” a confused Dean observes as Zachariah chuckles. (Stop reading Goop, Dean! Get off that cleanse!) Zachariah explains that he’s Castiel’s boss, and he’s on Earth to ensure that the Winchesters fulfill their destiny - as hunters!
Tumblr media
“You’re a hunter,” Zachariah explains. It’s in Dean’s blood. (I hiss at this.) And if Dean works hard enough, he’ll do everything he’s “destined to do. All of it.” GUH. Zachariah urges Dean to embrace his life. It could be worse, after all!
Tumblr media
July 2015
“You’re up early.” Steve said as he dropped onto the swinging chair besides his girl. It wasn’t even 6 am yet but she was sat outside on their patio “You ok?”
“Yeah.” she smiled at him, as he pecked her cheek, looking out over the dimly lit lawn area of the Newly Opened Avengers Facility which swept down to the banks of the Hudson. The Facility had been the product of one of Tony’s crazy brain farts not long after they had come back from Sokovia and had been remodelled in record time. Whilst some areas were still undergoing renovations, over 80% of it was complete. There had also been changes to their team too. Clint had headed home, the birth of his baby son- Nathaniel Pietro- prompting him to take indefinite paternity leave, all of them fully accepting this was his way of leaving everything behind for good. Thor had left earlier that morning, promising he would return for the Wedding, whenever they finally got round to setting a date. But they still hadn’t heard a thing from Banner and the jet was proving impossible to track. On the plus side, they invited Sam and Rhodey to join the team officially and both had gleefully accepted, along with Vision and Wanda. Lawson was now their chief Technician and Evans had joined the team too, which made Katie happy as she enjoyed their company.
It was starting to grow light, the first rays of sunlight were bouncing off the water to the West. He turned to look at his girl and watched her as she surveyed the river, feet tucked underneath her on the seat.
“No regrets?” he asked, and Katie could feel him studying her face as her mind wandered back to the conversation they’d had when Tony had first mentioned moving to a new base.
Look, Cap, we’re like a trouble magnet,“ Tony explained animatedly, "Wherever the Avengers are, trouble follows.”
“So - you’re suggesting we build another building?” Steve rubbed his neck and looked up at the blueprints Tony had now blown up against the wall.
“I’m suggesting we relocate, completely, leave the Tower to Stark Industries and build our own facility and expand.” Tony said, flipping through pictures with a sweep of his finger. “We have this this old warehouse upstate, good location, middle of nowhere.”
"Less chance of civilian damage.” Steve’s hands fell to the buckle on his belt.
“Full medical wing, Living quarters, as well as a bunch of extra spare apartments, for all the strays we keep accumulating, training arena, kitchen, cafeteria- satellite links- you name it, you got it.”
"How long will it take?” Steve asked and Katie tried not to sigh at the fact that her dream of a quiet life in a nice house in Brooklyn had just blown up in front of her face.
Tony looked affronted. “I’m a billionaire cap, it’ll take however long we say.”
Steve looked at Katie who simply shrugged at him, keeping her face passive.
“Have you two eaten?” she asked, changing the subject.
Tony shook his head as did Steve.
“I’ll fix you both something.” she turned and started moving towards the kitchen area.
“Not for me…” Tony said. “I’ve got a dinner reservation with Pepper at 8…” “Yeah, you might wanna get a move on then, seeing as its 7:30.” She shot over her shoulder as she turned and began pulling stuff out of the fridge to prepare dinner.
“What?” Tony glanced at his watch and frowned “Shit…fuck…”
“You kiss Pepper with that mouth?” Steve quipped back as Tony collected up his laptop and the blue-prints disappeared off the wall.
“FRIDAY why didn’t you remind me?” Tony groaned. “You never asked Boss…” The Irish lilt came back.
“I miss JARVIS…” Tony grumbled, the door clicking shut as he left.
Steve headed into the kitchen and stood for a moment watching his wife as she moved around, before he he headed over to her, his arms wrapping round her from behind.
“Are you okay, you know, with the idea of moving to a new facility?” Steve asked. “I know it’s not exactly the home you had in mind.”
“We’ll be together. That’s all that matters.” Katie shrugged, concentrating on her task- chopping a pepper up for the couscous salad she was making.
“I know but, I just worry sometimes. You deserve better, a quiet life.”
“Not sure we have a choice.”
“There’s always a choice.” Steve dropped a kiss to her cheek. “You got out of SHIELD, you could get out of this.”
“You know for a moment in Sokovia… “Katie placed her knife down and turned to face him. “I thought… well I thought we weren’t getting out of it alive. And It frightened me, I’m not gonna lie…”
She looked up at him and met his eyes. He knew the whole thing with Ultron and the final show down in Sokovia had shaken her, more than any other mission she’d been involved in. It served as a reminder exactly what is achievable with technology, how fragile humans are, how easily life and peace could be shattered. For that split second, when on that floating city she hadn’t seen a way out, she had genuinely thought their time was up. And her life with Steve cut short before it had even started.
“We stood there, on that rock and in that split second when it seemed everything was lost you know what I felt?” she looked at him and he waited for her answer “Relief. Relief that if we both went down, we did it together and I didn’t have to spend a single day without you…”
“Sweetheart…” Steve began but she carried on.
“I can’t sit by and simply wave you off on a mission wondering to myself if it’s the last time I ever see you. I hated doing that when I left SHIELD and I can’t do it anymore. You fight, I fight.” “So what if I quit?” Steve looked at her. “What if I gave you the life you deserve?” “You can’t quit, and I wouldn’t ask you to.” Katie shook her head, smiling a little. “The world needs The Avengers, and the Avengers need their Captain…” “And their Captain needs his girl.” Steve took a deep breath, his eyes flashing with something that looked to her a lot like worry. She sighed and ran her hands up his arms, bringing them to rest on his shoulders.
“And she’s not going anywhere…” Katie she assured him gently, standing on her toes to give him a peck
She knew the Avengers depended on Steve as their leader even more so now that Tony had said he was hanging up his Iron Man suits for good, choosing to manage and see over the running of the practical side of things instead of active combat. Ultron had really hit her brother hard, but whilst his way of dealing with it was to call it quits, Steve was the opposite. He wasn’t ready to leave this behind for a quiet suburban life. And if being with him meant Katie had to stay too, then so be it.
So, regrets?
“No” she said, taking his hand in hers as she lay her head against his shoulder. “None at all.”
He smiled to himself as her hand began to play with his, the fingers of her left hand gently tracing across his knuckles, the only evidence of her brutal beating last year was the slightly bent pinkie that no matter how much physio she had, she couldn’t extend it fully.  He still got a cold shiver when he thought about how close he had come to losing her. She sighed softly, and he looked down to see she was looking at their intertwined hands and then it struck him just how much he couldn’t wait to tie himself to her for the rest of his life.
“Let’s get married.” He whispered gently into her ear.
“I thought we already were.” She chuckled.
“No, I mean let’s do it. Let’s get a date set, the sooner the better. We were supposed to set one months ago and I don’t want to wait any longer.” “Is that what you want?” She looked up at him smiling.
He nodded “More than anything, Doll.”
“Alright. Let’s do it.” He grinned before his lips met hers, the kiss gentle and soft.
“Any ideas on where?” She asked. As a matter of fact Steve did, the idea had come to him a few days ago, but he wasn’t sure if she was going to go for it.
“Well…I errr…thought, maybe, perhaps we could look at the church my mom used to take me to when I was a kid.” He ran a hand through his hair “That is, if you wanted to.” “Steve that’s a lovely idea.” She smiled and he beamed down at her
“You think?” “Yeah. And I’ve been thinking, maybe, we could have the reception here, in the grounds.” she said, looking at him.
“Here?” Steve frowned, he’d assumed she’d want some kind of hotel booking downtown. But as she spoke, he soon realised that what she was saying made perfect sense, and was more them than any flash place they could hire.
“Think about it.” she said, “No security issues, no press, just us, our friends, family… we can get a marquee by the lake…” Katie paused. As a girl she’d always envisaged a huge, fairy tale wedding with hundreds of guests, in The Rainbow Rooms no less. But now, all she wanted was for those people who meant the world to them to be there to celebrate with them.
“Are you sure?” he asked. She nodded. “Never been so sure of anything in my life.”
“Then I’m fine with that.” He smiled, gently kissing her again.
“So you wanna go see this church?”  she asked.
“What now? It’s barely light…” “So?” she sat up “I’ll take you to IHOP on the way…” “Now you’re talking…”he grinned.
By the time they had showered, which Steve had suggested they do together, to save water and time (although by the time they had finished there was a lot more water and time used up than if they showered alone) and finally dressed it was gone eight, meaning they hit IHOP at just after half past. As they both stuffed their faces, excitedly talking about their clandestine wedding planning Katie was struck with just how young Steve looked. He was dressed casually in a Dodgers T-shirt, jeans, trainers and a baseball cap, his blue eyes sparkling with anticipation. He was excited.
The church was in a small neighbourhood in Brooklyn and Katie instantly fell in love with the place. St Augustine’s was an old red stone and brick built church with a tall spire. Very Gothic chic, which caught her attention instantly. As Steve climbed out of the car, a rush of memories hit him, the smells, the noises, the sights, everything. It was like he had stepped back in time as he saw his mother grasping his hand softly as she led him up the steps and through the heavy wooden doors. The last time he had set foot in this church, however, had been his mother’s funeral. But now, it was time for something happier.
Steve slipped his arm round Katie.
“What do you think?”
“It’s beautiful.” Katie said.
Before Steve had chance to reply, a voice with a faint Irish lilt spoke, causing them both to stand and turn to see the Priest walking towards them.
“Can I help you?”
“Yes, hi…” Steve smiled, shaking the priest’s hand “I’m Steve…”
“Rogers, yes I recognised you.” the Priest smiled “Pleasure to meet you Captain.”
Steve shook his hand before the Priest reached out to Katie
“So this would make you Miss Stark?”
“Hi.” she smiled, shaking his hand.
“Charmed…” The Priest smiled, his eyes twinkled as he looked at Katie and she instantly warmed to the man. He wasn’t as old as she had expected, maybe a few years older than Tony, the hair around his temples was greying and his eyes were lined but he had a kind smile.
“So what can I do for you?”
“Well, we…” Steve smiled at Katie before he looked at the Priest. “We’d like to get married here. As soon as we can.” The dark haired man smiled and beckoning for them to follow him to the back of the church “I’m sure we can manage that, let’s see what date’s we have free…”
After chatting to the priest, and settling on a date, Steve was taken by a wave of nostalgia and convinced Katie to drop into the small cemetery on the outskirts of Brooklyn. Weaving their way through the stones he finally stopped in between two well weathered ones, which contained the names of his parents. Crouching down he gently wiped away decades worth of grime and he bowed his head, his eyes wet.
“Hey ma.” He said softly, “brought someone to meet you.”
Katie felt the tears springing into her eyes as she crouched next to him, laying her head on his shoulder.
“She’d be so proud of you, Stevie” She said gently, “They both would”
“I hope so.” he said softly and she reached out to turn his head so he was looking at her.
“Baby, how could they not be?”
She gently kissed him before she stood up and made her way to the car, leaving him alone with his thoughts for 10 minutes or so before he came striding out of the yard, and climbed into the driver’s side.
“Could we, maybe update the stones?” he asked after a moments pause “I mean I didn’t have much money back then and I’d like them to have something a bit more, I dunno…” “Of course we can.” she said, tangling her fingers with his, bringing his hand up to her lips so she could kiss his knuckles “Of course we can.”
******
“31st August?” Natasha frowned. She was the first person after Tony who they told they had set a date.
Katie nodded.
“Seriously?”
“Yeah…”
“That’s like…well, it’s weeks away!”
“Look, just be grateful it wasn’t sooner. The priest originally offered us a date two weeks off which Steve was all for taking until I persuaded him to give us a bit more time.”
“You know you could have set this date months ago.” Natasha rolled her eyes “Yeah, I know. I mean it’s gonna be a bitch to organise. If only I had a really good almost sister-in-law and a best friend with amazing military like planning skills that could also double up as bridesmaids…” Katie said, eyeing her as they walked. Natasha stopped and turned to face her friend. “You mean…” Katie smiled at her and nodded “If you’re up for the job…”
“I’d be honoured…” she stuttered, before pulling her into a hug, which surprised her slightly but she returned it gladly. “I’ve never been a bridesmaid before.” “There is one condition…” Katie said looking at her “Can you get Wanda involved in the organisation too? Help her with something other than training or whatever…”
Nat smiled “Sure I can handle that.” Natasha’s response was nothing to the one she got from Tony when she asked him to give her away.
“You know you’re my dad in every way other than actually being my dad…” she said, her fingers on one hand playing with those on the other as she felt her eyes misting “There’s no other person I’d want to walk me up the aisle…” He instantly teared over and pulled her into a hug, not finding his voice for a good 30 seconds as he silently shed his tears over her shoulder.
“I’d be honoured…”he whispered softly, kissing her cheek.
Steve, however wasn’t having as much luck. Rhody, Clint and Sam all accepted his invitations to be Groomsmen (he sent one to Thor via Jane, who also accepted gleefully with a loud, booming phone call) but he was struggling really to decide who to ask as his best man.
His initial thought had been Tony, despite the fact the two of them bitched and bickered at one another, they were close, almost brotherly close. However, given that Tony was giving Katie away in his role as Father/Brother of the Bride that was out. The next obvious choice was Sam, but it all just felt wrong. He was struggling, coming to terms with the fact that his lifelong best friend wouldn’t be the one to do the job.
“I always thought it would be Buck by my side.” he said, looking out over the lawn as he was sat on the patio one evening with Katie, the pair of them with a beer in hand. “He was, is, my oldest friend.”
“Friendship isn’t about who you’ve known for the longest Steve.” Katie said, shrugging “It’s about who came into your life and never left your side.”
Those words had resonated within him, and he realised they made perfect sense. So in the end he did ask Sam, who accepted gleefully. Although when he caught him and Natasha huddled in a corner, looking at something on his phone one afternoon, the pair of them sniggering like a couple of naughty kids he started to wonder what on Earth he had started.
***** Katie sat in front of her mirror and did her hair and make-up before she shrugged on the pale pink jumpsuit she’d bought especially for that evening, slipped her feet into her heels and headed to the living room. It was now 6:30, but knowing Steve as she did, he would no doubt barrel through the door in the next 10 minutes, swearing the way he always did when no one else but she could hear him, shower and be ready to go in 15 minutes flat.
She sighed to herself, she’d had the best day today in a long time. It was the first day in ages she’d had off work and she’d managed to buy her wedding dress. Or should that be Tony had bought her wedding dress courtesy of Pepper and a black Amex.  Wanda and Nat had cruised down to Manhatten with he in the Champagne stocked limo, stopping to pick Pepper up on the way. Once in the boutique, it had taken them a while but Katie had finally settled on one, a gorgeous, sweetheart neckline Ivory A-line with lace detailing all-over the bodice which was decorated with crystals. The skirt flared into layer upon layer of tulle decorated with the same lace detailing and beading with the skirt extending into a layered train at the back.
Steve had also had a reasonably productive day. Given that he, Sam and Rhodey were planning on wearing their Military Uniforms for the wedding and that Thor was going to be in his best Asgardian dress gear this only left Clint and Tony to organise for the suits. Katie had already picked them, simple charcoal pinstripes with ivory and gold waistcoats and light blue ties (light blue, pale red and gold were their colours, being a less gaudy variation of red, white and blue which they had agreed on) so this meant all he had to do was sort a fitting for Clint and Tony.
It had been a lot easier than he had imagined, the store already having Tony’s measurements, (because of course he got all his suits from there) and they also had a sister branch about 30 miles from where Clint lived who could sort it for him. So with that done and completed by lunch time his attention had turned to the meetings he had with General Ross and Rhodey about a potential collaboration programme with some of the Armed Forces Specialists. Now he had one final stop to see how the New Recruits for the support team were getting on.
“Hey,“ Steve said as he strode into the training facility before he smirked and nodded over Sam’s shoulder "I’m assuming you told them to take five?”
A confused frown spread over Sam’s face as he turned to look behind him. Every single one of the recruits was standing right staring wide eyed at the Captain.
“Drills!“ Sam shouted “Or you’ll get another 10 laps of the compound!”
“You’ve taken to this training role far too easily.” Steve grinned at him.
“What can I say, I’m a natural born leader.” he grinned “S’up?”
“I’ve been going through the intel on the Cambodia job.” Steve said. “I know the authorities are insisting its some low times arms dealer thinking he can muscle in on someone else’s patch but something smells off.”
“That’s because it is.” Nat said, walking into the gym, tablet in her hand.
“You got something?” Steve asked and she nodded, handing him the item.
“Cross referenced the MO. Matches an attack on an Army Munitions factory in Calcutta. And one in Tayshet, Russia” she said “And this is the culprit.” Steve looked down at the photo up of a man in what looked like a White Hockey Mask.
“He’s calling himself Crossbones.” Nat said as Sam moved to look at the photo.
“Great…another rogue arms dealer.” Steve rolled his eyes.
Sam snorted “What kind of dumbass name is Crossbones?”
Steve sighed and looked at Natasha “We got any info on who he might be?”
“I contacted a few people.” Nat said vaguely. “One of my contacts came through and says he has something but will only speak in person.”
“How soon can we go?” Steve looked at her.
“I’ll talk to them, see what they say.” She said.
Steve nodded “Ok, well I don’t think it needs the full team so me and you will go, Sam you can hold the fort here. We should only be away for a day or two.”
Sam shrugged “You’re the boss.” “I’ll make a few calls, tell them to expect us.” Nat said. Steve nodded and she straightened up. “You talked to Katie?”
“Not since this morning why?” Steve looked at Nat.
“She got a wedding dress today.”
“She did?” Steve’s face softened just the way it did anytime someone referred to their wedding. “Hang on, am I allowed to know that?” “Think it’s pretty safe to know your future wife’s bought a wedding dress, you know, on account of the fact you’ll be getting married soon.” Sam snorted “You’re just not supposed to see it before hand.”
“How long did she take to pick it?” Steve looked at Natasha, a grin on his face. Natasha smirked back at him.
“Not that long, because I’d already rung and told them the type of thing she like so nothing she tried on was hideous to her. We were in there a couple of hours, then went for some lunch and did a bit more shopping.”
“Good.” Steve nodded. “She’s been working really hard recently so she deserved a day off. I feel like I’ve hardly seen her over the past few weeks with everything that’s been going on.”
Which reminded him, he couldn’t wait to take her out that night for a well overdue evening together. They’d both been so busy with setting up the compound, her business and he was looking forward to them both escaping the hustle and bustle. Which reminded him, he needed to go.
Nodding to the pair of them, smiling as Sam barked another order, he wandered into the corridor. It seemed a lot less busy than usual. Maybe everyone had taken an early finish for some reason, although he couldn’t think why for a Tuesday. He glanced at his watch and gave a start. “Shit…”
They weren’t taking an early dart, he was taking a late finish.
Katie was sat on the couch, shoes long since abandoned along with any hope that they were actually going anywhere, and was half way through a bottle of very expensive Pinot Grigio that she had bought for them to have once they got home by the time Steve blustered into the apartment.
“Shit, shit…baby I am so sorry!” he said, as Katie looked up, not even able to bring herself to be pissed off anymore, she’d been angry about half an hour ago. Now she was just disappointed. “The meeting with Ross and Rhodey took a bit longer and then something came up on the Cambodia thing” he continued, sighing “Time just got away from me.” he stopped as he drew level with the couch “You look gorgeous.” “Shame it was for nothing” She said, rolling her eyes, turning her attention back to the TV and the re-run of Friends she’d been watching but not paying attention to.
“We can still go…”
“There’s no way we’ll make it.” she said, pointing to the clock with her eyes “Its forty minutes into Manhatten and you need to change.” “I’ll call, push it back…” he said after a moment’s pause. “Just forget it.” she sighed “Honey…” he dropped to his knees in front of her “Don’t be like that…we can go for a drink or something.” “I’m not being like anything.” she snapped back. “You’re the one that told me to ready by seven, well I was…you on the other hand-”
“I know and I’m really sorry.” “I know.” she said, standing up “You said. Look, it doesn’t matter. Not like I had anything special to talk to you about or anything…”
“What do you mean?” He frowned, “What-“
“Like I said, it doesn’t matter.”
“Katie…” he sighed as he rose to his feet too.
“I’m going to get changed and take a dip in the hot-tub with the rest of this bottle of wine and a manuscript, might as well make the most of my spare time” she said, grabbing the ice bucket as she headed to the hallway “Your presence is not required.”
*****
“Uh oh, what you done?” Natasha asked as she walked into Steve’s office the next morning, finding him browsing delivery sites for flowers.
“Last night was supposed to be Date night.” He muttered with a sigh “I was late, and we missed our reservation. First time I’ve ever done that. Katie was not happy.” “So I suppose now isn’t a good time to as if you’re up for a trip to Russia tomorrow.” Nat said, and he let out a groan. Katie had hardly spoken two words to him all evening and this morning before she had left for her office at the other end of the compound. Today was Wednesday, one of the 2 days out of 5 she worked on SIP stuff during the morning, then trained in the afternoon, a way for her to keep her toes in with the Avengers training.
“You’re right, it’s not.” he said, “But she’s pissed at me anyway so…”
“You sure it’s just about date night?” Nat asked, “Not like her to get so annoyed over something like that, especially if, as you say, you’ve never done it before.” “Well like I said yesterday, this place has been taking up a lot of my time” He shrugged. “She’s probably feeling a bit neglected. It’s my fault completely.”
“Well instead of wasting money on flowers…” Nat said, nodding to his screen. “Go and find her now, take her somewhere for the afternoon. I’m supposed to be sparring with her in 15 minutes, we can reschedule.”
Steve hesitated. “What about…” “I can handle the arrangements for Russia.” Nat said, “Just go.”
Katie’s bad mood hadn’t got any better by the time she finished her work for the morning and it got even worse when she reached the door of the main gym area and paused as one of the new recruits, a girl called Jenny Allen, was midway through a full on bitch rant.
“Who the hell does she think she is anyway? I mean…” “She’s a damned good agent.” Evan’s voice cut her off “One of the best I worked with, one of the most outstanding snipers I know so…” “Yeah well she still shouldn’t just be allowed to dip into missions as and when? I mean, we all train our asses off and she just walks around, like she’s hot shit just because she was trained by some SHIELD legend when we all know the real reason she was pulled into SHIELD and the Avengers in the first place is because of her name…” “You’re out of line…” “And let’s face it, she’s only here now because she’s engaged to Cap, and owns half the gaff…”
“I mean, they are two pretty good reasons” Katie said, pushing the doors open and walking into the gym. She had to give Allen credit, she started bit but then recovered and stood tall.
“Katie, I…” Evans started but Katie cut him off. “It’s ok…she has an opinion, she’s entitled to it. Say what’s on your mind Allen.” “I just…” she took a deep breath “I don’t like the way you seemingly get to swan into missions, with little to no training like the rest of us. It’s dangerous.” “Dangerous?” Katie folded her arms over her chest.
“Yes, dangerous. You don’t know how we operate as a team, I mean are you still versed in hand to hand?” Versed? What the fuck?
Katie raised her eyebrow and smirked at Evans who instantly spotted the look on her face. Fuck this, she’d been waiting to give Allen a smack since she had caught her batting her eyelids at Steve, practically trying to climb him when he’d been running over a report with her. What better way was there to fix a bad mood?
“I tell you what.” Katie said “why don’t we find out? I’m due to spar with Widow but you’ll do.” “I err…” Allen hesitated slightly. “Nova I don’t think that’s a good idea?” Evans cut int. “I mean…” “No.” Allen said, straightening up. “It’s fine…I’m game.” Katie turned to drop her water on a bench and started to wrap her hands in the bandages she had.
“Go easy on her…” Evans whispered in Katie’s ear. She looked at him innocently.
The pair of them started to circle and Katie waited, waited like she always did for her opponent to make the first move. She watched, quickly noting that the woman favoured her right, so she was right handed. She was also a bit taller than Katie, and stockier but that wasn’t an issue, she’d floored Sam before and Evans come to think of it.
As Allen came in with a right lead, Katie ducked and aimed a harsh left jab at her mid-section, causing the woman to let out a gasp of air. She recovered fast, coming in again and Katie moved to the right so the blow glanced off her ribs and aimed a kick to her right knee, causing her to stumble slightly. As she straightened Katie was waiting and landed a hard jab straight to her face, causing her to reel as her nose began billowing crimson. There were hisses from the watching recruits and she vaguely registered Evans to tell her to take it easy but she wasn’t listening. Allen wiped at her face and came at Katie, full on, which was what she had wanted, she’d riled her enough to make her want to fight fierce but as she came Katie threw herself to the left and swept both legs from under her. She crashed to the mat and in an instant Katie had her on her front, knee in her back as she yanked her arms back.
“You’re right…” Katie bent over, lips close to her ear as she struggled, making Katie pull even more “I do own half this gaff, and my brother owns the other half. Something you need to remember when shooting your mouth off, and trying to climb my fiancée in his office…” “I wasn’t-.” she protested and Katie cut her off with another yank.
“If you so much as utter another word commenting on my fighting skills again. I will rip your arms out of your sockets, right before I have you escorted out of my compound, you got that?” “Yeah I got it.”
Steve paused at the sight in front of him. Following Natasha’s advice he’d headed to the gym, ready to take his girl out for the afternoon, only to find her pinning Allen to the floor, the woman’s arms yanked behind her back and her nose bleeding on the mat.
“I tried to stop them…” Evans looked up at Steve who made a noise in his throat and strode towards the two women. “Katie that’s enough!” his voice rang out loud across the gym.  “What the hell is going on?” “Allen had some worries I wasn’t field ready.” Katie let go and easily got to her feet, looking at him, a flash of anger in her eyes, the fact he had used his Captain’s voice on her hadn’t gone unnoticed. “So I offered to show her, put her mind at ease.”
“Yeah well I think you’ve made your point.” he said, looking at Allen as she stood up holding tight to her nose, pressing firmly to either side to try and staunch the flow of blood from the single quick right straight Katie had hit her with before the take down.
“Do you need medical Allen?” Steve asked. She shook her head. He turned his attention to Katie, and glared at her “I don’t know what the hell is going on here…” “I just told you.” she shot back. “I was showing how field versed I was…” “By punching her in the face?” he said, his hands falling to his belt. Katie folded her arms and glared back at him.
“We were sparring.” “You were trying to rip her arms out of the sockets…”
“Don’t be so dramatic.” Katie rolled her eyes earning herself a glower, a look which would quell anyone else but not her, she wasn’t scared of him. “Maybe now she’ll think twice about making shitty comments.” “If someone punched you every time you made a shitty comment you’d never get up.” he said back, no trace of humour in his voice, because he didn’t find the issue funny at all. He eyed her again before he nodded to the door “Go.” Was he serious? One look in his eyes told Katie he was.
“Fine.” she shrugged, picking up her water bottle before she left. Natasha, who noticed the tears in her eyes went to stop her but Katie waved her away. Steve watched her back before he turned to Evans, pointing to Allen
“Patch her up and then I’ll see both of you in my office. AND GET BACK TO WORK!” he bellowed round the room.
Evans and Allen both nodded and left.
Steve noticed Natasha was looking at him from the doorway, arms folded.
“Got something to say, Romanoff?” he asked, snappily.
“What could I possibly have say when you handled that so well?” she asked sarcastically. “FYI, you might want to take your shield back home with you later, I can’t expect Nova’s gonna take to being stripped down in front of people so well…” She levelled Steve with another look before she left and he let out a groan of frustration. Could this get any worse?
By the time he got back to his office both Evans and Allen were waiting. And when Evans explained what Allen had been saying, Steve was even more frustrated as he wasn’t surprised Katie had reacted the way she did, not that it made it right, just a little more understandable. He unloaded on the woman, gave her a verbal warning and then dismissed them both. Then, deciding it was time to face the music at home he headed to their apartment.
Katie had made it back to their quarters before she had burst into tears. She knew she was being unreasonable in a lot of ways. The Compound was still finding its feet, so of course it wasn’t going to run like clockwork and obviously Steve was going to be working long hours. She was too, she wasn’t completely innocent in that respect. The issue was him missing date night was something he had never done before and it had surprised her a lot. Was she getting less important to him as the time went on?
Angrily she stripped off, changed into her bikini top and her denim shorts before she grabbed her book intending on heading out to the patio area to top up her tan in the August sun.
She was in the kitchen, grabbing herself a beer when Steve came back.
“You alright?” He asked.
“No.” Her tone was clipped, “But thanks for asking.”
He rolled his eyes “Katie…”
“Excuse me.” She went towards the door, but he didn’t move.
“Steve, get out of my way.”
He still didn’t move. “No, you’re not going anywhere until we sort this out.”
She groaned and looked up to the ceiling.
“Wanna tell me what your problem is?” he asked
“Right now, you, not letting me out of this fucking room.” she sighed, rubbing at her temples.
“Look, I know you’re pissed at me for last night and I get that, but..”
“That is not the problem!”
“Then what is?” He shot back, somewhat exasperatedly. “Honey, I can’t fix anything if I don’t know what I’m supposed to be fixing…”
” That!” she looked at him, her voice loud “That is the problem! That you have no fucking idea what the matter is! You’re so wrapped up in running this place I hardly get a look in. You don’t ask for my input, you don’t involve me in anything…”
“Woah, now hang on.” He stepped forward. “When we moved here you said you didn’t want to run anything…”
“And then you order me out of the fucking room in front of the damned trainees!”
“Yeah well you can’t just kick the crap out of one of my team members like that”
“Yeah well your team member is an asshole.” Katie rolled her eyes. “She deserved it for being a dick…”
She took the opportunity to dodge round him and out of the doorway he had vacated when he stepped into the kitchen and made her way to the doors at the back.
“Right now you’re being a dick”
“I’m not. I just don’t want to play second fiddle to your fucking Army Camp anymore.” “Army Camp?” he let out a sarcastic laugh.
“Yes Army Camp” she said, spinning round.
“You’re being ridiculous.” he shook his head, running his hand through his hair. “Absolutely ridiculous.” “And that doesn’t help!” she glowered at him “When I’m pissed off or upset, you telling me I’m being ridiculous…” “Well you are…” A chuckle escaped his mouth before he could stop it.
“Stop fucking laughing at me!” She yelled, the heat rising up her neck and to my ears. He was really, really pissing her off, her could see it on her face he took a deep breath as she continued. “Tell me I’m wrong, tell me this whole thing isn’t about reclaiming some of that time and life that was stolen from you?”
“You think…” He stopped and cocked his head to one side, trying to make sense of what she was saying “You think that this, all of this…” he waved his arms around “Is some kind of trip down memory lane?” “Well isn’t it?” He shook his head, snorting, giving her comment the contempt it deserved. “You couldn’t be further off the mark if you tried.”
“Well from what I see it looks like you’re simply trying to re-live your Howling Commando days.” She snapped back “And I have news for you Steve, I’m not Peggy, no matter how much you wish I was.”
The words flew out of her mouth before she could stop them and they felt like a slap to his face. But instead of it upsetting him, he found himself boiling over with anger at how fucking ridiculous she was being. They had been through this time and time again, he’d shown her and told her at Clint’s she as the most important thing in his life, hell, they were getting married in less than three weeks for fucks sake, what else did he need to do?
“That’s out of order and you know it.” His voice was low. What do I have to do to make you realise you are what I want? Not Peggy, you…”
Suddenly the shitty nature of her words began to sink in and Katie found herself unable to look at him anymore, so she turned her head to the side. So he crossed the room and grasped her chin between his thumb and forefinger forcing her to look at him. As she looked back his jaw twitched slightly, a mixture of hurt and anger in his eyes, the furious energy radiating off him and then that ridiculous part of Katie’s brain that controlled her libido piped up, this was fucking hot. Her breathing hitched slightly and he felt it too.
“Fine, if that’s what you want…” he practically growled as his lips crashed onto hers and before she could even think to kiss him back, he pulled away - leaving her wanting and moving toward him to try and catch his lips again. Her hands reached for his face, desperately trying to bring him back to her. At the motion, his hands grabbed her wrists and forced them back to her sides, clearly, but wordlessly telling her who was in charge.
There was a slight pause between them, both trying to catch their breath from the row that had just occurred and from the searing kiss he had just delivered. Then their lips found one another again, his hands moving to her waist to both pull her closer and he began to tug at her clothes. Getting the hint, she acted in tandem, hands falling to the clip on his utility belt, fumbling with it for a second in her rush before successfully releasing it and then going for the flies on his uniform pants. Steve popped the button on her denim shorts and in a quick swoop shoved them and her bikini bottoms down as they both stumbled around the room.
He took hold of her hips again so to manoeuvre her wherever he wanted. They continued to stumble around the room for a moment before he took control and roughly picked her up. Her bare legs immediately wrapped around his still fully uniformed waist and her arms went around his neck as he slammed her up against the wall at the far side of the lounge and, using it as support he shifted his grip from under her ass. One hand went to her hip while the other pried her hands from the back of his neck. He was able to hold both of her wrists together with one of his hands, placing them up above her head and holding them there tightly.
This was angry sex, not make up sex, this was utter ‘I’m so fucking angry at you so I’m gonna show you.’ sex. Well, she was angry too so there was no way he was having this all his own way.
She rolled her hips, hard against him which was enough to get his attention but he simply used his free hand to shove her legs off of him. Katie managed to catch herself on her feet, only slightly bumping against the wall but before she had chance to think his lips found hers again, hungrily kissing her while his hand skated over her bare stomach. She arched into the touch, wanting him to move a bit south, but his hand stopped an inch away from where she wanted it to be.
“Say you’re sorry.” his voice was right by her ear, rougher than she could ever remember it being before. Rough enough to make a shiver go down her spine and for her to try and thrust into his hand, desperate for any sense of relief. But he pulled even further away from her, making her whine a bit. “You’re sorry and you believe me…”
“I’m sorry.” she breathed out, stumbling over her words “And I believe you…”
He surged forward, kissing her desperately and she openly moaned into his mouth as two of his fingers slipped inside of her. His motions were fast and aggressive and he brought her to the brink, and then stopped.
“Do you still believe me?” he breathed out, voice ragged. “Tell me you do and you want this.” The fucker was still making a point but by now Katie really didn’t care.
“Stevie, please.” she thrust her hips out toward him, gasping “I still believe you, I want you.”
It was want, not need. And that didn’t escape his notice. He knew which one he would prefer to hear, to be wanted over needed any day.
He couldn’t help the soft smirk on his face as he braced one hand on the wall beside her head, the other harshly yanked one of her legs up so that it wrapped around his waist. Reaching into his pants he freed his now painfully hard erection from them and didn’t even pause before slamming into her, making her cry out sharply, one hand going to grip his bicep, the other against the wall to steady herself. He slammed into her over and over with such force that she was sure she was about to go through the wall itself and into the hall.
Desperate to be both closer to him and not to actually go through the wall, because that would be awkward to explain, not mention painful, Katie tried to lean in more to him. The motion made him go deeper inside of her, which caused her to moan at the feeling. At that point Steve quickly removed his hand from the wall and lifted her off her feet. Their chests pressed together, the bare skin of her stomach rubbing against the harsh Kevlar of his uniform, both messily kissing each other as Steve stumbled around the main area of the lounge before toppling over the arm of the couch where Katie ended up on top. Even then he continued his aggressive thrusts, his hands on her hips, pulling her down as he drove upwards.
She let out a small groan, the roughness of his pants was grinding against her clit along with the fact he was bottoming out inside her, hitting her spot again and again.
“Shit, Captain…” she hissed and the noise made him slam up even harder, fuck he loved it when she said that when he was being tough. She let out a loud scream and tightened around him and at the feel of her walls clamping down, which was fucking bliss as always, his thrusts upwards became desperate as he chased his own end,  before he gave a loud “fuck…” and he came, hard as she collapsed on top of him.
The pair of them lay, utterly spent and his hands gently ran up her spine as her face pushed into his neck.
“Still pissed at me?” he murmured.
“In a fashion.” she responded as she picked her head from her shoulder and rolled to the side so she was between him and the back of the couch. He moved so they were facing each other, gently nudging her nose with his.
“Can we talk this over like adults now?” his voice was still quite stern. Katie bit her lip as she looked at him and he sighed, his voice becoming softer “I hate rowing with you. But I still don’t know what’s going on. Please talk to me.”
“You shouldn’t have ordered me out.” she said.
“You broke Allen’s nose.” Katie had to fight the smirk crossing her face. Good shot.
“it’s not funny.” “It is.” Katie said “She deserved it.”
After what Evans had told him, Steve kind of agreed to be fair and Katie saw his face soften slightly. “Evans told me what she said.” Steve brushed her hair behind her ears “For what its worth she’s had an official warning.” “Did you go all Cap on her?” Katie raised an eyebrow “Bet she loved that…” “What do you mean?” “Oh come on, don’t tell me you haven’t noticed…”she snorted before putting on an airy voice “oh Cap…that’s so funny. Hey Cap, can you show me how to do this take down. Oh Cap, you’re such a good teacher… she was practically trying to climb you the other day in your office.” “You’re jealous…” he smirked.
“I don’t like people touching my stuff.” she sighed “Especially not some 28 year old blond bombshell.” “Blond bombshell?” he snorted.
“What? She’s hot.” I shrugged “I’d do her.” His eyes flashed cheekily “Now there’s an image.” She narrowed her eyes at him and he laughed before sighing again.
“Listen to me…” he said, his hand then coming up to caress the side of her face as he looked at her, driving his words home. “You are the most important thing in the world to me and there’s no other girl that comes close, not matter what you think. Not Allen, not Peggy, no one. And as for playing second fiddle…” he gestured with his spare hand around the room. “Say the word and this all goes.”
“Yeah right. You’ll never give up being Captain America…”
“I would for you.” He said simply.
Katie looked at him, he’d shocked her, but he meant every word. If he had to give all this up, he would. He didn’t want to but, he would. The magnitude of what he had just admitted took a while to sink in, but when it did Katie was overcome with emotion, and the tears pricked at her eyes.
“Hey, come on.” Steve let out a soft sigh, as he held her close, rubbing his hands softly up her back. “You wanna tell me why last night was such a big deal, and yeah, I know that I messed up but, well I’m getting the feeling there’s a little more to it.”
With a deep breath she pulled back and licked her lips. “I err, I just wanted to tell you something and I wanted it to be special because I know how much it means to you, but, well, I made a decision on my name. You mean everything to me, Steve, and when we get married I wanna give everything to you, so, I wanna be Mrs Rogers.”
Her words took a moment to sink in and once they did, a huge grin spread across Steve’s face. “Really?”
“Yeah.” She nodded, smiling. “We’re tying ourselves together for life and I want everyone to know that I’m yours and you’re mine.”
“I’ll always be yours, Baby.” He whispered, as she leaned in to kiss him, as he wrapped an arm around her waist while one of her legs slithered in between his.
Soft, gentle kisses were shared as Katie gently reached for the zip of his uniform top, undoing it and then guiding his undershirt over his head as he undid his pants fully, shimmying out of them before he guided her onto her back while he shifted so he was caging her in between his legs. This time the mood passion, not anger.
“You have no idea what you do to me…” he whispered gently into her ear as he undid the strings on her bikini top leaving them both completely bare. She let out a groan as she titled her hips up. He closed his eyes as her hand came to rest on his cheek and he leaned into the touch as he shifted so her legs parted and he was inside of her again.
Tilting her head back at the feeling left her neck exposed, which Steve took advantage of in pressing soft kisses up her throat. His hand snaked up her arm so he could intertwine his fingers with hers. He slowly rolled his hips against hers, instead of the frantic rhythm he had prior. The hand that wasn’t entwined with hers went to her hip, pulling her closer as he thrust deeply, gently, slowly, each roll of his hips hitting her spot as he continued over and over again, head dropping to my neck, collar bone and breasts which he had paid no attention to before.
“Stevie, you feel so good…” Katie moaned and he let out a groan of his own at her words. When her orgasm rolled over her again, this one not as ferocious as before, but no less pleasurable she melted underneath him, breathless, her hand running through his hair as he came again, collapsing on top of her
The moments after they finished were always their favourite. The quiet bliss that surrounded them like a bubble, keeping them safe from the world.
“I love you.” Katie said softly. He picked his head up from where he had it buried in the crook of her neck so he could meet her eyes.
“I love you too.” he responded, pushing some hair out of her face, thumb circling her cheek. “I can’t wait to make you Mrs Rogers.” He whispered, his lips ghosting over hers.
A Learning Experience - jack kline x reader
Sam and Dean Winchester leave their little sister behind on a hunt to be a glorified babysitter for a certain nephilim. Y/n introduces Jack to a bunch of new things like pancakes, grocery stores and chick flicks. A few harmless questions arise. Fluff.
If anyone had told you a couple months ago that you would be babysitting Lucifer’s son while your brothers went out hunting without you, you would have laughed in their faces. But that was then and now you were cooking breakfast for two in the bunker’s kitchen balancing your phone against your head with your shoulder.
“Real nice move, assholes. A note. What a nice way to tell your sister you’re abandoning her”, you hissed.
“We’re not abandoning you, Y/n, it’s just a couple weeks. Jack isn’t ready to come with us and he shouldn’t be left alone”, Dean replied, “According to Sam.”
“Are you keeping the knives away from him?”, Sam asked in the background.
“I did not realize that was something I had to do but I think I’ll lock them up now”, you said.
“He’s not gonna hurt you, I’m worried about him hurting himself.”
“Great, so you abandoned me with a suicidal nephilim in a bunker that no one knows about.”
“It wasn’t my idea”, Dean grumbled.
“Shut up, De, I know you don’t like him but he’s just a kid”, you rolled your eyes.
Your oldest brother laughed, “You two are like the same age if you don’t wanna get technical-”
“Which”, Sam interjected, “is why I think it’s a good idea you stay with him at home. You can teach him stuff and make sure he takes care of himself.”
“I’m literally a babysitter. You guys owe me big time when you get back”, you said.
“Something I’m sure you won’t let us ever forget.”
“Goodbye, Dean”, you hung up the phone and plated the last of the pancakes.
After setting the table you cleared your throat and called out for Jack in your best mother hen voice. It echoed around the empty bunker for a few moments before you heard footsteps approaching and a head of blonde hair poked in from around the door frame.
“Yes, Y/n?”, Jack asked.
“Sit your ass down and eat, breakfast is ready”, you gestured towards the pancakes on the table.
“What are these?”, he asked, staring at the pancakes after he sat down.
You stared at him, “Are you kidding? They’re pancakes, you’ve never had pancakes before?”
He shook his head.
“Well, these are the best breakfast food in the whole world. I don’t really know how to explain them better than that”, you said, putting a couple on his plate and passing him the bottle of syrup, “I think, you’ll like them. You can put syrup on them if you want…”, You watched in abject horror as he drowned his pancakes in the substance before digging in.
Jack grinned through a mouthful of food, “These are good. I like pancakes.”
You laughed, “I’ll make them for you every morning as long as you don’t tell Sam about the amount of sugar you just ingested.”
Jack nodded, “Deal.”
After a couple days of making three square meals a day for a nephilim that seemingly never got full, especially of your pancakes, you had to make a trip to the grocery store. Syrup was at the top of your shopping list but you were running low on other actual essentials and you didn’t know if a nephilim could actually eat unhealthily but Jack was half human after all and Sam might appreciate you putting a salad into the boy.
You knocked on the door to his room, in between yours and Sam’s incase anything were to happen, and stuck your head in. He was reading, something you encouraged considering how many pop culture references your brother used, besides Harry Potter was a classic and you were showing him the movies as he gradually finished each book. Which was surprisingly quick before you realized that Jack didn’t sleep nearly as long as you did.
“Hey, Jack, you wanna get out of here for a little while?”
He looked up at you in confusion, “Sam and Dean said it would be best for me to stay here.”
“Well, I don’t see those dummies anywhere now, besides we need more food. It’s just a quick run to the store. You don’t have to come if you don’t want to though”, you said.
He shook his head and stood up, “No, I’ll come with you.”
“Cool.”
It really was supposed to be a quick trip to the store until you learned just how much food Jack had never had before.
“Do you normally get this much food?”, Jack asked, looking over the nearly full shopping cart.
“Living with Sam and Dean? Yes. But we’re getting a lot of stuff I don’t usually buy. It’s high time you lost your mac and cheese virginity”, you said as you examined the tomatoes.
“What is that?”, he asked tilting his head in a very Castiel esque manner, which you found absolutely adorable.
What? Mac and cheese? It’s kinda in the name, just macaroni and cheese-”
“No, virginity.”
You think you probably rivaled the tomatoes in how red your face was, “It’s uh…like when you’ve never done something before. But it’s just a metaphor, normally virginity pertains to um”, you paused. You really did not want to give Jack the sex talk in the middle of the produce section.
“Intercourse?”
You breathed a sigh of relief, thank god. Wait…
“How do you know what that is?”
“I saw something on Dean’s laptop-”
“Dean showed you porn?”, you hissed.
“Not exactly, it was just there”, Jack said nonchalantly.
You shook your head and put the tomatoes in the cart before dragging Jack off towards the registers. That was enough for today’s outing.
After about a week, you two had finished all eight Harry Potter movies and had moved onto the rest of Dean’s vast collection of movies. Over the course of your time alone with Jack you had learned he was a huge cuddler. The first time you had sat down on the other side of the couch, he pulled you closer by the second act. Not that you minded, Jack was warm and it kept the chill off, the bunker was drafty. It was only for that reason. Not because you were developing a huge crush on Satan’s son.
Tonight you were watching some romantic chick flicky movie you didn’t even know Dean owned. Well, Jack was watching it. You were nose deep in your book with one hand curled in Jack’s hair as he rested his head on your lap.
“They’re supposed to be in love, right?”, Jack asked.
“Yeah, that’s kinda the whole point of the movie”, you said, not looking up from your book.
“Then why is he hurting her?”
That got your attention, you looked up at the screen. The guy in the movie was pushing his female love interest up against the wall and gazing into her eyes with an intense smolder that made you shiver a little.
“He’s not. It’s kinda meant to be romantic. It’s building sexual tension”, you replied as the pair on screen started making out. “See? Now they realize they’ve been in love the whole time.”
Jack turned to look up at you, “How do you know when you’re in love though?”
“I don’t know, you feel all tingly and happy when you’re around someone you love. You really like spending time with them, I guess. These are some loaded questions. Haven’t you been watching the movie?”
Jack flushed, “I wasn’t really paying attention to some of it.”
You shrugged, “You didn’t miss much, most chick flicks are all the same anyway.”
The end credits rolled down the screen a few minutes later and you closed your book. Jack looked like he had zoned out again as you continued to play with his hair. He was probably tired. Even nephilim had to burn out at some point.
“I think I’m gonna head to bed. You look like you should too”, you suggested, pushing a few stray stands of blonde away from his forehead.
“Maybe. I’ll only wake up in a couple hours anyway. Can I stay up longer? I want to watch another movie”, he said, sitting up to let you up.
“Go ahead. I’m not your mom, you can stay up late if you want. Just don’t start Star Wars without me.”
Being a Winchester meant very few nights of peaceful sleep, luckily tonight was just the usual nightmares of being torn apart by various monsters. Nothing you hadn’t dealt with before. So when you woke up in a cold sweat, you shook off the fear and decided to grab a drink before going back to sleep. The clock read 3:00 AM in big red letters, so you had only been out for a few hours.
Jack’s bedroom door was shut when you walked past, so you assumed he had turned in sometime after you. You crept down to the kitchen as quietly as possible to avoid waking him. You grabbed a drink of water and checked your phone for any notifications, nothing from the boys yet but they weren’t supposed to be home until next week due to complications according to their last call. From somewhere down the hall you heard a floorboard creek. If Jack had woken up you would have heard his door, the hinges in the bunker weren’t exactly well oiled. The hairs stood up on the back of your neck and you set your glass down silently.
The hall was dimly lit but there was no sign of anything that could have made the noise. You sighed. You were just on edge from that nightmare, the bunker was decades old if ever there was the time to use the “house settling” excuse it was with this ancient building. You turned the corner back down your hallway and was suddenly slammed up against the wall. You let out a gasp that would have turned into a very loud scream if your eyes hadn’t met a pair of blue ones.
“Jack”, you breathed, “You scared the shit out of me.”
Jack stared you down silently. His grip on your wrists was tight and it made you wonder if he knew just how tight. His gaze was intense almost like…
“You can ease up a little bit there, tiger”, you whispered and his eyes softened along with his grip.
“I’m sorry. Did I actually hurt you?”, he asked nervously.
You shook your head, “I think I’ll live. What are you doing?”
His cheeks turned red, “In the movie, you said this was romantic.”
Oh. Now it was your turn for your cheeks to heat up.
“Jack...”
“I feel tingly and happy when I’m around you, Y/n”, he said sincerely, “You said that means I’m in love.”
“You’ve never been in love before, Jack. Love is more than just tingly feelings. It’s something that you have to figure out and learn on your own”, you explained.
“You don’t love me?”
That damn near broke your heart. You shook free one of your hands and caressed his cheek softly. “Jack, I like you way too much than I should already and could well be on the road to loving you. But I don’t want you to think you’re in love with me just because I’m one of the only people you’re around-”
He shook his head, “I’ve seen other people though. No one has ever made me feel like you do. I thought there was something wrong with me but it doesn’t feel bad. It feels good, like pancakes or grocery shopping or you playing with my hair.”
Forget being on the road, you had reached your destination. You were definitely in love with Lucifer’s son. His eyes bore into yours and you couldn’t take it anymore. You surged forward and pressed your lips to his. His hands landed on your hips as you threaded your fingers into his hair. The kiss was hot and messy, that was the only indication that this was Jack’s first time doing something like this. Of course he would also be a perfect kisser. You pulled away after a few more moments, breathing harshly.
Jack beamed at you, “Can we do that again?”
You laughed, “Yes, Jack. But maybe after a couple hours of sleep.” You swore he was pouting.
“Can I stay with you tonight?”, he asked, “I heard you earlier, you had another nightmare.”
“Did I wake you?”
He shook his head, “No, I haven’t gone to bed yet.”
That’s why you had heard creaking, it really was Jack moving around.
If anyone had told Sam and Dean Winchester a couple months ago that they would come home to find their little sister cuddled up to Lucifer’s son in bed, they would have laughed in their faces. But that was then and now Dean was looking absolutely mortified and about to blow as Sam dragged him out of the doorway so as to not wake them up.
[04] [05] [06] -> masterpost
Bliss. It’s been so long since you’ve experienced this feeling.
These past few weeks have been nothing short of wonderful, like the sweetest version of reality. Working as a language teacher at BigHit was wonderful because of the staff and the fact that in the long run, your job would be helping the rookies get to know their fans better all over the world. But your job was also incredibly strenuous, and you felt an immense amount of pressure from the higher ups to teach the rookies as much as you could in between their other lessons and training. You remember the early days you’d be crying in the bathroom, scared of their exam scores because you knew it wasn’t possible to learn a language in less than a year, but the higher ups wanted you to achieve the impossible.
But now, teaching is like a breath of fresh air. You found it appropriate to reabsorb your classes, and you’re still getting used to the sudden heavy workload. Namjoon was over the moon when you returned to your regular office in the biology department, treating you to coffee and catching you up on what you missed. Chan almost cried when he saw you Monday morning sitting in your lecture hall, saying his grade will finally be salvaged.
However, the cherry on top has to be your budding romance with Jungkook.
Maybe it’s the fact that you’re still swimming in the honeymoon phase, but everything just felt right. Of course, you can only hope your W2 self was already going to interact with Jungkook in one way or another, just like you had in your world. As of late you don’t feel like you're tearing this universe apart, worrying that you’re interfering in an alternate universe.
A buzzing interrupts your thoughts, and you pat around your mattress for your cellphone. You don’t hesitate to answer.
“Good morning, baby,” Jungkook’s rumbly morning voice flits through your speakers.
You swoon, shuffling and kicking under your covers. A little part of you is disgusted how easy it is to turn to butter in Jungkook’s grasp, but it’s unsurprising. “Hey handsome,” you reply, trying to hide your giddiness.
“How do you know I look handsome? My breath smells like leftover mac n’cheese and there’s dried drool on my chin.”
“Mm, still handsome.”
“Ugh, you’re so gross,” but you can hear him smiling on the other line. “Do you have any plans for today?”
“Dunno.”
“Well there’s this new bubble tea cafe I know you’d like so maybe during my lunch we can--”
The rest of the words fade away as you notice an incessant banging on your front door. Whoever wants to come in is far too eager for this early.
It’s then your calendar notification pings, and you see the big fat message atop your phone:
Hobi Date 🍷🍷🍷
“Oh shit—” you smack your forehead, you completely forgot today’s the day you would find Sehlyung’s wine lady. “I’ll call you later Kook, okay?”
You end your call, throwing your phone on the bed as you dash out to answer. Taehyung is yelling from the kitchenette, “I’m trying to eat some damn salad here!” By the time you slide out in your socks and down the hall, Hoseok is already inside your humble abode, holding coffee and donuts.
“I brought libations,” Hoseok says with a bit of flair, setting them down next to Taehyung’s breakfast.
“Thanks man,” and Taehyung makes grabby hands towards Hoseok’s coffee, and Hoseok looks horrified before snatching it away. “C’mon man, no coffee no entry!”
“Taehyung, this is Hoseok,” you introduce, opening the box of donuts and offering Taehyung one in truce. You look pointedly towards Hoseok, sipping idly on his coffee, “Hobi, why don’t you wait in my room before we go, okay?”
Hoseok tilts his head, eyes darting between Taehyung and you. It’s almost comical, the way Taehyung’s early-morning brain is having a hard time processing what was going on, and you wanting to keep a lid on the situation. “Sure, mom,” he slurps obnoxiously on his americano, waltzing down the hallway and into your room. He slams the door rather sharply, and that’s when Taehyung pounces.
“Who’s the hippie?”
“Hippie?” you balk, “Hoseok’s not a hippie.”
Taehyung shrugs, shoving a powdered donut in his mouth and completely forgetting about the limp lettuce on his plate. So much for a balanced breakfast. “I know all your friends, but I’ve never met this one.”
“He’s new,” you take your pick of donuts as well, picking up a vanilla glazed one with rainbow sprinkles, “we’re gonna go shopping.”
“Oo, can I come?”
“No,” you say a little too quickly, causing Taehyung’s eyes to widen in confusion. You quickly backtrack, even going as far as to grab a napkin and dab the powdered sugar from Taehyung’s cheeks, “it’s old people shopping. We’re sending ginseng wine to our families. No brand names there.”
Taehyung immediately buys it, scrunching his nose. “Not my favorite,” he says to himself. “Well, have fun doing old people things. Maybe Jimin will be willing to do something cool with me.”
And with that, he abandons the limp lettuce with a flick of his wrist, letting them out your windowsill and into your little garden for compost. You two make your separate ways, you into your room and Taehyung into the bathroom.
When you open your door, you already see Hoseok making himself comfortable on your bed, flipping through your notebook.
“You really shouldn’t be leaving this out on your desk,” Hoseok waves the yellow pages around, trying to look serious, “Taehyung could read this and you might end up in the cuckoo house.”
With a roll of your eyes, you search for a sweater, “As if he wouldn’t join me.”
You pull out a large black hoodie, courtesy of Jungkook. Trying not to look like a smitten high schooler, you subtly smell the collar before slipping it over your body. You melt in the fabric, and you almost hug yourself. Since your time at BigHit, you’ve missed wearing Jungkook’s things, and that’s a constant you can’t ignore.
“If you end up in the cuckoo house, I’ll end up there too by affiliation,” he flops on your bed, waiting for you to get ready, “so, we gonna nab an old lady today for some wine?”
“Ohmygod. What is wrong with you? You can’t say it like that, someone could report you!” you laugh, slapping him with a long sleeve.
“So it’s more appropriate to say, ‘let’s go find the lady’s coked up wine that could’ve potentially sent you to an alternate universe’ right?”
“Exactly,” you grin, pulling him up with an outstretched hand, “now let’s get going before we both end up in the cuckoo house.”
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
Jungkook thought bliss ended once he got a good filming gig and a stable job, but no, it just had to get better.
He doesn’t want to say he’s all consumed by your presence, but he can’t get enough of you. Sometimes he has to reel it in when you go out on dates, but he feels so lucky to call you his and hold you in his arms whenever he wants.
You dropped into his life, quite literally. One day you just showed up and barged into his life. At first it scared him, immensely. But as he got to know you, wear you down and realize that the strong, blunt woman he met on the street is just as kind and sweet and soft–
The bottom line is, Jungkook wears his heart on his sleeve and loves loudly. He feels so much for you he can’t contain it.
Except when Jimin wants to embarrass the hell out of you when they’re going over old pictures during work.
“Can I tell you a story about how y/n almost peed in that fountain?” Jimin points to the small thumbnail Jungkook took earlier last week. You’re perched on a large limestone fountain, smiling at the little fish tickling the sides of the bowl.
Taehyung gwaffs, choking on his sandwich. “God, that night was incredible! I got the Snapchat receipts too, Kook. If you want to second guess your standards.”
A loud laugh bubbles from his throat, and Jungkook eagerly leans over Taehyung’s shoulder to get a better look at the screen.
He likes your friends, too. To the point that he can safely consider them his friends. Of course he was intimidated the first time, especially when you were so pretty in your red skirt and surrounded by your equally attractive friends, but turns out Taehyung and Jimin are equally dopey and cringey as he.
As silly as you look crouched over the water and pulling up your skirt, he melts at how carefree you look enjoying yourself on a free night. Jimin is hauling you off the ledge, grabbing you by the waist as you fruitlessly try to kick him away.
“Careful,” Jimin tuts, sipping at his latte. “She’s gonna kill you if she finds out you showed it to Kook.”
Taehyung scoffs, stuffing his phone away. “She looked like she was gonna kill me today when she brought that friend over. They were acting really weird,” Taehyung points his kimchi in Jungkook’s nose, “do you know Hoseok?”
Jungkook blinks, opting to take a bite off Taehyung’s fork, “Kinda,” he shrugs, letting the tang of the kimchi spread across his tongue, “she has office hours when he’s working at the library daycare. They have lunch together.”
Jimin leans in, hands fold over the white cafeteria table like he’s in the mafia, “What do you mean by weird, Tae?”
“Like, she wanted him to wait in his room and they kinda just snuck out, y’know?” Taehyung divulges, “Like I love y/n, she the home girl, but who’s secretive about buying ginseng?”
Jungkook’s chewing slows. He trusts you, however, he doesn’t know what to make of that little tidbit. But instead he swallows his kimchi, not caring that he didn’t chew enough or that it went down uncomfortably, and steels himself. “Probably just stressed about her thesis or something, I’m sure everything’s fine.” he says smoothly, trying to convince himself that he’s right, and he’s pretty sure he is.
“Awh, Jungkookie’s so mature since he’s started dating!” Jimin paws all over the younger one like they’re long lost siblings. His hands travel to pinch his cheeks and ruffle his hair simultaneously, cooing like Jungkook’s a little bunny who’s merely existing.
There’s a blush staining Jungkook’s cheeks, but he doesn’t mind Jimin’s bouts of attention. A small smile blooms to Jungkook’s face, and confirms to himself that he’s in a good spot in his life.
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
“So, what are you and Jungkook like?”
You shrug, “We’re good. It’s only been a few weeks though.”
“No, I meant your Jungkook.”
By definition, your Jungkook isn’t necessarily yours. However, the term is the byproduct of your current setting, and an unfortunate reminder that the Jungkook you’re dating now can never be definitively yours.
(Or…? Can it?)
“We were,” since when did you refer to you in and him in a past tense, “kind of a slow-burn, actually. We’d pass each other in the hall and exchange conversation during lunch in groups but, he kind of just crept up on me.”
The train is going at a break-neck speed, the fancy rail floating across the track as it beams you closer and closer to your destination. Gone are the concrete jungles and carefully architected trees. You’re finally starting to see some natural foliage and blue seas. Today’s journey is a bit of a shot in the dark, you don’t even know what the person you’re searching for looks like, but it’s the only clear lead you have.
“So you didn’t always know you loved him?” Hoseok asks, fiddling with the wire of his buds.
You shrug, “I had a feeling. He’s an easy guy to fall in love with,” you don’t want to mention that nearly half the world is smitten by the Golden Boy, but from the bittersweet expression on your face Hoseok has an inkling. “There’s just a lot of factors that come with relationships. Factors that aren’t worth it. It’s easy here.”
“It would be easy,” Hoseok replies to the air, closing his eyes.
And he’s right. It would be easy to continue on with life, forgetting about the possibility that one day you could wake up in W1. It would be easy to forget about your other life, Beomgyu’s forgotten quiz that’s still probably lit up in your MacBook back home, Sehlyung’s wish for you to approve Jin’s new outfit.
You wonder how your life back home is going, whether they’re moving on just like you seem to be.
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
You really have no idea what Sehlyung’s wine dealer looks like. Work friends are work friends, where you’re close enough to share sexy secrets to each other but not as close as to divulge family life.
You know that Sehlyung lives in a small town closer to the shore, as she’s mentioned one too many times that her feet are baby smooth from the constant sand exfoliation. You’re vaguely aware that this is the right area, at least you hope because W2 Sehlyung could be living in Guam for all you know.
Passing by the village square, you search idly for an old lady selling ginseng wine. You didn’t realize how much a shot in the dark this could possibly be.
“Hey,” Hoseok whisper-hisses, and you try not to ignore the spit that brushes your ear, “you said to look for an old lady, right? All these ladies. They’re old.”
He’s right.
The village may be small, but there were over fifty booths with plenty of old ladies selling something. It would take hours, you didn’t even know if this lady would still be selling ginseng in this life.
Your hands fall limp at your thighs, and you point to a small house at the end of the square. It’s cute, almost cottage-like, looking more high-end than the other shops on the street. “Maybe we should eat something before we do some searching. Otherwise someone’s gonna have to scrape us off the street.”
“Good idea.”
Surprisingly, the interior of the establishment is nothing like the front. There’s a very authentic quirkiness to it, down to the colorful blown glass vases and the eclectic amount of alcohol lining the bar.
Not feeling like waiting for a table, the two of you wait by the bar, hopping on the two available stools in the corner.
The two of you don’t waste any time, telling the waiter passing by that both of you would like a heaping bowl of glass noodles.
“Care for a glass of something sweet?”
Looking up from their dessert menu, you see an older lady leaning over you to pour you and Hoseok a cup of tea. She’s the definition of a chill grandma, from the easy way she smiles to the colorful hoop earrings she wears. You watch as she carefully pours you a cup for you, and you get a glimpse of the beautifully painted ceramic teapot, adorned with watercolor flowers.
“If you have some angel wine,” you lick your lips, looking straight at her, “that would be lovely.”
There’s no hesitation in her work, and the lady continues to pour Hoseok’s cup with impeccable grace. She doesn’t bat a lash at your slight jab, even goes so far as to send you a crinkly smile.
“Fresh out, m’fraid,” she replies easily, “sold my last batch to a lovely blonde over a month ago.”
You swallow your surprise, the bile coming up your throat returning slow and achingly hard. Hoseok’s eyes dart between you and the old lady, and you clench your hands under the table. “Thought so,” you smile tersely, “then, do you have any recommendations?”
Hoseok noisily slurps tea, as if he’s watching a melodrama. The old lady nods eagerly, placing her ceramic mug on a nearby potholder. “I’ll whip up something extra special.”
It isn’t until the old lady whisks away from the bar and into the bathroom does Hoseok blurt, “Is the special thing drugs? Is she giving us drugs?”
“Who knows,” you thank the waiter who sets down two metal bowls of glass noodles in front of you, “maybe the next drink will send us to the moon.”
“Don’t even joke about that,” Hoseok grimaces, “my fuckin’ dream is to visit the moon.”
As you two eat in silence, the restaurant slowly dwindles down as the lunch rush leaves and the start of dinner commences. Being a weekday, there aren't many coming down to eat out. You let yourself be immersed in the hubbub of the cottage, the clinking of clean tea cups and the laughter of staff sitting in the corner table.
The lady finally returns when you’re nearly done with your meal. There’s a tall frozen glass in her hand, ice particles clinging to the barrier. There’s an umbrella and a pineapple adorning the rim, looking uncharacteristically bright and tropical. She places it next to Hoseok’s tea.
He narrows his eyes, “This doesn’t have LSD or anything, right?”
She laughs, the hearty sound enveloping the restaurant. “Nope. Just passionfruit and mango.”
Hoseok easily takes her word for it, sipping happily as it washes down his dinner.
“For me?” you pop in.
“Ah, some advice.”
You shrink in your seat, “I want a fruit smoothie too.”
But you relent when she opens her palms to you, gesturing for you to give her yours. They feel calloused and worn, as if she’s spent lifetimes dedicating her life to her craft. She rubs her thumbs against your palm, sending soothing circles to your skin.
“Enjoy your time as it lasts,” she says, quiet enough for only you two to hear, “things will fall into place very soon.”
She senses you tense, and continues to hold you. You can’t tell whether this advice is foreboding or comforting.
•━━━━━━»•»💮💮💮«•«━━•••
“I know what you're thinking,” Hoseok says when you return to Seoul, walking in the direction of your apartment.
“And what exactly am I thinking, o’ wise one?” you kick a stray pepple your way, getting in a groove as you walk lazily down the sidewalk.
“Her words,” he mumbles, “I don’t think it’s an invitation for you to get too comfortable here. Eventually… you’re gonna have to go back.”
“I know, Hoseok.” You don’t mean to sound so agitated. After all, the mission was mostly successful. You got your answers, albeit vague ones. The old lady in the cottage simultaneously sparked and eased your soul, unfortunately it didn’t give you any definitive direction as to go on with this life, other than to simply “enjoy it.”
“I know we’ve been debating whether you’re hallucinating or whether you’re in a coma and you’re having a really long dream or some weird mix of the two—” Hoseok jogs up to stop in-front of you, stuffing his hands in his orange cargos. He’s standing directly behind a 7-Eleven, the gaudy green and red lights lighting behind him like a halo.“And trust me, I’ve spent hours in bed thinking whether I’m real or not and potentially reaching an existential midlife crisis,” he grabs your hand and presses it to your chest, his other hand flailing wildly to the sky, “but this is real. All of it, I’m convinced it’s real. I’ve lived a long, slow, twenty-something life so far.”
He pulls you into his arms, and you suppress a shudder as his warm embrace envelopes you. Is this some sort of punishment? For the first time in a long time, you’ve felt content. Not to say that your life in your world wasn’t normal but you could honestly admit that the time you’ve spent here is nothing short of amazing. There’s an ease to this life, something so simple and easy to love that you want to keep it in your heart and cherish it forever.
“But ‘m gonna miss you,” you sigh into his chest, “we aren’t very close back in my world, y’know. So I’m glad I got to spend the time that I could with you.”
“S’okay,” he mumbles into your hair, and you can feel the smile in your skin, “if we’re really meant to be friends, it’ll happen again.”
Hoseok leaves you with these words, allowing you to breathe easy as you make the steps back to your apartment. Your feet are heavy from the day’s trek, but your mind feels lighter as you near your floor.
You spot a young man in a long jacket hanging a bag on your doorknob, taking great care that the contents inside wouldn’t spill.
“Jungkook?” you ask, smile widening when his gaze perks up to meet yours. It’s almost comical how he reacts to your voice, perking up like a little rabbit at the sound.
His smile grows the closer you get to him, “Hey, pretty girl,” he murmurs, closing the space between you to press a chaste kiss on your cheek, “great timing. I got you something.”
Your eyes dart to the cup of bubble tea hanging on your doorknob. The cup is adorable, pink-tinted and rounded at the bottom with little cat ears for the lid.
“Oh, you went! How was it?”
“It was great! We should go once you’re free. Taehyung ordered three cups! Nearly puked all over Jimin’s couch.”
“So,” your fingers trail up the buttons of his shirt, and you look up through your lashes, “you’re implying that my roommate isn’t inside our apartment right now.”
He leans in, nose nudging your neck as his voice rumbles against your sensitive skin, “That’s exactly what I’m saying.”
You’ve never punched in your key faster, clutching the bubble tea bag to place it along the counter as the two of you clamber in. Instead of making it to your bedroom or living room, Jungkook traps your body between the doorway, cradling your face in both his hands to press a sweet kiss on your lips.
There’s nowhere to put your hands because both of Jungkook’s are up, so you close your eyes and let yourself savor the slow taste of his lips moving against yours. Finally you decide to settle your hands on his belt buckle, absentmindedly thumbing the loops as you get lost in the feeling.
“Mm, Kook? Koo—” he presses quick pecks to your lips, barely giving you a chance to forge complete sentences, “can we move this somewhere more comfortable? ‘M legs are turning to jelly.”
“Glad to have that effect on you,” he replies airily, thumbs pressing into your soft skin, “but I actually have to go, so no time to get comfy.” You whine against his lips, and he chuckles. “I have a cohort meeting at 8AM. We’re gonna organize our portfolios together.”
“Nerd,” you pout, pressing a kiss to his chin.
“And me and Mingyu are meeting online for some Overwatch in like, two hours.”
“Gamer nerd,”
“Your nerd,” he beams, his thumb reaching out to swipe the sheen from your swollen lips, “lemme plan date night to make it up to you. Minghao will be out of town for the weekend so it’ll just be me at the apartment.”
Date night. It all sounds so domestic to you, planning out designated days to spend time together. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but the fact that Jungkook sounds so settled with you is nothing short of heartening.
“I’ll make dinner,” his fingers twine between yours, “and we’re keeping the dress code super casual. I want to see you in nothing but sweatpants and oversized t-shirts.”
“But sweatpants aren’t sexy!”
“They are on you,” he retorts with a wiggle of his brows, “and sweatpants are easy access.”
“Alright, as long as you don’t upstage me.”
“Never,” he grins, pearly whites on display, “now, I really gotta go.”
He unlatches your body from his, only to have you immediately jump on him like a koala. You feel his large hands caressing your hair, taking the time to run his fingers through the tangles. You could fall asleep standing in the middle of your doorway, melting under his touch.
“Good night, baby.” he says, pressing his lips to your forehead.
“Sweet dreams, nerd.” you reply reluctantly, letting him open the door so he can go.
“Dream of me!” is the last thing he says before he forces you to shut the door, leaving you thoroughly needy and wanting for him.
Tonight, you dream long.
Seven months ago, W1
You’re crying. There’s big, fat, ugly tears falling in rivulets along your face. You don’t even bother to wipe away the tears, just let them flow freely and dampen your pants as you watch the group take their final bow.
From your seat, you take in the energy of the concert like it’s your last breath. The purple confetti dusting your hair, the slow remix blasting through the speakers. The sea of stars swimming across the stadium, all for them.
You wait until everybody’s long gone before you get up from your seat. Until the only people that surround you are staff and clean-up crew, forcing you to leave. Your face still feels achy and your cheeks puffy. Sehlyung is urgently texting you (quadruple texting!) to hurry your ass up and get to the green room so you can all leave together.
A hand on your shoulder stops you from replying, and you wave them off. “Yeah, yeah. I’m leaving already, sorry.”
“Rude, I just got here.”
Jungkook is glowing. He hoists his whole body to plop himself in the seat next to you, so heavy you fear he may break the plastic in two. His arms splay across the other seats, urging you to lean in closer.
“Jungkook,” you smile, resting your hand on his thigh. “The show was great, I really felt the energy from all the way back here.”
“I can see that,” he tugs at his long sleeves, reaching to brush a stray tear, “you okay?”
“What, yeah.” you scoff, crossing your arms.
“So you weren’t moved by my impeccable talent?”
“Obviously,”
“Because, there’s nothing to be ashamed of if you were crying,” he goes on playfully, using his hands to narrate his spiel as he talks out to the stage, “I mean I get it, knowing how much I slaved over that solo and finally getting to perform it, and how I got sick the night before is a pretty–oh shit.”
You’re blubbering again, feverish now that everyone’s gone and it’s only you two in the stadium. The lights have already started to go out, the only light illuminating are the red exit signs and the last pair of doors leading to the main lobby. Your cries are echoing across the large room, and you feel nothing short of embarrassed but you can’t stop crying.
“Awh, my little crybaby,” he cooes, dripping with affection as he moves the armrest to pull you onto his lap. You dive your face in his neck, wracking with sobs.
“I’m, I’m just so proud of you,” you seep out, nuzzling your nose between his freshly cleaned face, “and you—you make it so damn hard for me to not love you it’s just, it’s not fair!”
“You don’t make it any easier on me either,” he whispers, soft enough to crumble under his grasp and melt under his skin.
The confessions are so soft, so easy to say. Little did the both of you know how much it would strain for you to place this love on the backburner.
Warnings: Fluff? No warnings, really.
Tumblr media
You couldn’t help but steal another glance at the clock hanging on the wall of the kitchen. Tick…tock…tick…tock.
The beep from the oven made you jump—your hair on the back of your neck stood to attention and goosebumps flooded your arms. You brought your hands up to rub at the bumps. You walked to the oven and pulled the door down. You equipped your hands with oven mitts and reached in for the cherry pie.
As you closed the oven and hit the “Off” button, you looked around at the counter tops in the bunker’s kitchen.
Pie, a Greek salad, a pasta dish, steak, a burger for Dean, garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, and chocolate chip cookies. Because even though Sam would say he didn’t want any, you knew you would find him in the kitchen in the middle of the night to sneak one.
You knew you had overdone it, but you also knew the only way you could calm your brain was by cooking and baking. The boys had said they would be back at the bunker by 6:00 PM. It was 9:45 PM. The rational part of your brain knew that they were late all of the time—usually they would call, but still. Maybe they just lost track of time…
Before you could even process another thought, you heard the heavy door to the bunker open. You tried to contain your excitement and anxiousness, but you couldn’t help the slight skip in your step as you hurried to the corridor to catch a glimpse.
Both were vertical—neither looked seriously injured. They both looked like they could use a shower, but otherwise, you were calling this one a win.
“Hi,” you breathed. They both looked up and caught your eye.
“Y/N,” Sam breathed. “I’m so sorry I didn’t call. My phone got busted on the hunt, Dean’s too…and the spares were dead…” he trailed off as you took the few steps towards him. You reached on your tip-toes and threw your arms around his neck, your fingers intertwined in his brown locks. Hot tears pooled in your eyes and you squeezed them shut to try to will them to go away.
“It’s okay,” you sighed thankfully. “I’m just so glad you’re okay.”
You pulled down, your hands cupping his face tenderly on the way down. Your eyes danced between his back and forth to make sure he was really okay—you could always tell.
You reached for Dean next, grasping his shoulder with your hand. “Both of you—I am so thankful you’re both okay.”
Dean smiled a painful smile in your direction and nodded. “I’m gonna take a shower and get changed,” he said.
“Any patchwork needed?” You asked hesitantly. There wasn’t a lot you hated in this world, but cleaning and stitching their wounds was one of them. You had some medical experience, and Sam wouldn’t let you tag along for hunts, so to make yourself feel useful, you cooked enough food to feed a small army and stitched up their wounds when they came back from hunts.
Dean looked down almost to evaluate his injuries before saying, “Nah, just scratches and bruises. Thanks, Y/N.”
As he walked away, you called after him, “Oh! I made dinner—burgers, steak, potatoes…the usual. And pie!” He smiled over his shoulder.
“Don’t have to tell me twice. I’ll stop by and grab something after my shower,” he said as he walked into his room and closed his door behind him.
You turned your attention to Sam. His eyes grazed the ground below his feet as he shifted his weight, his backpack hanging loosely off one shoulder. “What about you, babe? What’s your injury situation?” You brought your hand up to his shoulder.
“Nah, I’m all good,” he breathed with a small smile. “I’m gonna go shower, too. I’ll be out in a bit.” He leaned forward to give you a quick peck. That was his way of saying he needed to be alone. You had stopped feeling the weight of disappointment when he wanted some space after a hunt. You understood, and you knew Sam loved you. It still just felt…sad.
“Sounds good,” you managed a small smile. You pushed your hands into your back pockets and walked towards the kitchen. You started to clean up the dishes and utensils you had used to make dinner.
Before starting, you unlocked your iPhone on the countertop. You opened Spotify, and clicked the top song on the list.
As the music started, you turned on the kitchen sink and rolled up your sleeves.
A cold beer’s got 12 ounces, a good truck’s got maybe three hundred thousand
You hummed along with the song as you put a dab of dish soap on the sponge, lathering the dishes in the sink. Your mind drifted—away from hunting, away from cuts and bruises, away from sadness. Memories of happy times—that time the hunt had taken you to the beaches of California, and Sam interlocked your fingers as you ran through the sand to put your toes in the Pacific.
You only get so much until it’s gone, Duracells in a Maglite
Or the time he had taken you out to a field to watch for meteors in South Dakota, and the night ended with the two of you dancing under the stars with music coming from the speakers of the Impala.
The thoughts made a smile pull at the corners of your lips.
A needle drop on a 45, are the kinda things that only last so long
You jumped slightly when you heard Dean clear his throat behind you. “Y/N, seriously, you’re the best.” He breathed as his eyes moved over all of the food you had spent the afternoon cooking. He swung by the sink and gave you a quick kiss on the cheek before grabbing a clean plate from the drying rack.
“You’re welcome,” you beamed. “Enjoy it. I’m not super hungry but I’m happy to sit with you and eat!” You offered.
“Nah, it’s alright,” he piled his plate with a little of everything, and a lot of pie. “Dr. Sexy has a new episode on tonight so I, uh…” he thumbed towards his bedroom.
You laughed softly with a nod. “No problem, have fun.” You smiled as you turned back to the dishes.
When the new wears off, and they get to getting old; sooner or later, times’ gonna take its toll
As the chorus began, you couldn’t help but move your hips slowly with the melody; your lips moving along as you sang quietly to yourself.
They say nothing lasts forever, but they ain’t see us together
Or the way the moonlight dances in your eyes, just a t-shirt in the kitchen
With no make-up and a million other things that I could look at my whole life
Your breath hitched in your throat as you felt his arms snake around your waist. You closed your eyes at the smell of his shampoo and aftershave, the flannel that adorned his arms rolled up to his elbows. His head ducked and his lips found their favorite spot on the nape of your neck.
“You scared me,” you breathed as you dropped the sponge and shut off the faucet. You turned in his arms and dried your hands on your pants before placing them softly on Sam’s chest.
“Sorry,” he said softly. His words still felt heavy—you knew his mind was still racing with the outcome of that last hunt, whatever that was. But his eyes looked lighter; calmer.
“Don’t be,” you reached up and touched his face. “You okay?” Your eyes moved back and forth between his; as much as you loved Sam, while he wouldn’t lie to you, you knew he would fib from time to time to protect you.
“Yeah,” he sighed, but his eyes told you he wasn’t. He knew you could tell. He pulled you to his chest, his arms wrapped around your back tighter than they had before. His lips found that same spot on your neck once more.
“You wanna talk about it?” You asked quietly as you brought your hands up to his hair to twist the strands around your fingers; you knew well enough that the feeling of you playing with his hair was calming to him.
He shook his head against your skin, bringing his face up once more. “Not really.” You knew what that meant. The hunt hadn’t gone entirely as planned, and while you were thankful your boyfriend and his brother had made it out mostly unscathed, they most likely had lost a victim in the process.
“Okay,” you brushed the tips of your fingers against his cheek. “You want to eat something?”
He smiled at the array of food you had placed out on the counter top. “Not right now. Ya know, you don’t have to make a five-course meal every time we go out to hunt.” He chuckled.
“I know,” a sheepish grin pulled at the corners of your lips. “Busy hands, busy brain…it’s a good distraction sometimes.”
His brows creased a bit as his eyes grazed over your features with concern. He hated worrying you, but it was sort of part of the gig.
“I’m sorry,” he breathed as he moved to turn away from you. He rubbed at his forehead as he slowly walked by the kitchen table. “Seriously, Y/N. I’m just really sorry.”
“Sorry for what?” You gave him a moment but he didn’t say anything, his back still facing you. “Hey,” you moved, your fingers wrapped around his wrist and tugged. You weren’t nearly strong enough to make Sam budge—but he still turned towards you. “Talk to me, Sam. Please.”
He ran his hand down his face once more and sighed. “For this…” he waved his hand, his eyes followed around the bunker. “For bringing you into a life you never asked for.” He breathed.
You took a few steps to him and collected his hands in yours. “Hey,” you tried to catch his gaze. “Sam, look at me.” His eyes found yours—you could see the pain, the fear and the uncertainty. “You never asked for this life, either. That’s the thing about life. Sure, we can want things—but life tends to just happen, anyway.”
Sam closed his eyes as you brought your hands to his face, cupping either side of his face tenderly. “It’s different being born into this life and choosing this life, Y/N.”
“Here’s the thing, Sam,” your voice barely above a whisper, but you wanted to be certain he could hear it. “I didn’t choose this life, but I chose you. And if this life comes along with you, I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
His eyes closed again, almost as if he was disappointed. “Nothing lasts forever, Y/N.”
Your teeth grazed your bottom lip as you pondered. You wanted to do anything to make him know you weren’t leaving; that you wouldn’t go anywhere. You moved your hands to the collar of his flannel, pulling him to you as if he couldn’t get close enough.
Your lips were on his before he had a second to interject. He brought his hands to the hem of your tank top—his fingers moved quickly to grip your warm skin.
“Wait,” he pushed gently, his eyes still closed. “This doesn’t solve anything. I just…I want you to be safe.”
You smiled back at him, your fingers reaching up to his face. “I am safe, because you keep me safe. I’m not afraid, Sam. I don’t want you to be, either.”
Sam’s eyes darted back and forth between yours. His jaw tightened once, twice…and before you knew it, his lips were back on yours. His hands put pressure on your hips as he hoisted you on to the edge of the counter, just in front of the sink. You focused on not tipping backwards, but you knew his hands wouldn’t let you fall. He used his body to push between your legs, your knees separating. As your lips danced together, he pulled back momentarily to work their way down your jawline to your neck. His tongue moved strategically over your sweet spot—the one that made your eyes roll back and close involuntarily.
“Sam,” you breathed. “Sam, wait…” you used everything in your power as you flattened your hands on his chest and pushed slightly. He broke the suction with your skin and looked over you. “Listen, I am seriously enjoying this…trust me. But I really don’t want your brother to walk in on us in the kitchen. It might ruin food for him forever.”
Sam couldn’t help the laugh that fell from his lips. “I don’t think there’s anything in the world that could ruin food for Dean.”
You moved your head from side to side as you contemplated—he was probably right. “But still, can we take this somewhere else?” You couldn’t help the glint in your eyes or the way your teeth pulled your bottom lip into your mouth and bit down gently.
His lips widened in a smile. “We can do that.”
He lifted your hips off of the counter top and lowered you so your feet were back on the floor. Sam’s hand found yours, fingers locking together. You followed as he led you to his bedroom, closing the door and escorting you to the edge of the bed you had shared together for over a year now. As you sat, you watched him slowly unbutton the clean shirt he had just put on.
“Hey,” you breathed and reached for his hand. “Listen, I know you believe nothing lasts forever…” you looked down as you played with his fingers, your fingertips tracing small circles over the top of his hand. “But can you accept that you are my forever, and I’m yours?”
He broke his eye contact with you with a breath. A smile played at the corners of his lips. “For now, I can accept that.” He whispered.
“I’ll take it,” you smiled. Your lips returned to his, just as his hand cupped your face.
A love like that makes a man have second thoughts, maybe some things last forever after all
A/N: I really hope you enjoyed it! Please let me know if you have any feedback!
