wait because the other day I was high and laughed so hard I cried over this because my immediate thought was “this is Valerius behavior” and I still can’t get it out of my head LMAO
The skeletal hand began to close around Rathby, death pressing in around him. It was clear Kelemvor had said his peace, and was done with this conversation.
“Wait!” Rathby called out, “Hold on, I’m not done! Why me?” He demanded, forcing his voice to be heard from between the closing fingers, “Between you, my dad, the fortune teller, and my real non shadow dad, everyone has chosen me to be the one to fight this great evil. Why?”
For a moment, kelemvor was silent, Rathby wasn’t sure if he was thinking or judging him, until finally he gave his answer, “Because you are willing to fight.”
If Rathby could have jerked up to stare at the god, he would have. Emotion he couldn’t quite decipher choked him, and he was too stunned to say anything else as the hand closed, and death took him once again.
A write up of one of my favorite moments in my dnd game so far
