It’s all fun and games until someone brings up the fact that the scene where Percy tells Nico about Bianca is paralleled to Apollo telling him about Jason. The fact that Nico knew what happened in both situations, but still asked just in case it was all a bad dream. Just in case he had a ‘normal’ mortal dream rather than a factual dream. Oh, and then he runs away in both scenes, leaving a literal trail of death behind (ironic)

Rachel is SUCH a girl's girl and I swear if I see ppl hating on her again- like she backed off THE moment she knew annabeth liked Percy, she didn't even have to do that since annabeth wasn't even Percy's girlfriend yet, so she isn't even obligated to back away. Since annabeth has no "claim" over Percy. But she did it anyway because she wanted annabeth to be happy, Shes genuinely so chill and never retaliated when Annabeth went all volcano on her.

One thing I like is how Rick made sure that Percy was NEVER mean to Rachel, or degraded her in any way. There's this thing I've noticed where writers make their characters criticize the female rival in the love triangle to uplift the main love interest. Rachel IS a cool person, and Rick made sure to acknowledge that, by making Percy admit that shes pretty and cool, Tyson calling her beautiful, etc. instead of making her behave badly so she simply exists to make annabeth look "cooler". Which is something, he unfortunately did with Piper and Drew. Making Drew a stereotypical mean girl to uplift Piper and make her look better.

is it just me or do i wanna see nico coming to terms to the real world as an adult. after being trapped in his youth for 100 years. learning to do taxes and earn money with a job. when he learns that he is not young anymore. when he realises he doesn't even know what stream of careers he wants to go through. when he realises that he can't keep running back to the dead like he did when he was young.

Not to Jason post on main but like. it is genuinely a miracle that Jason turned out as kind and generous as he is. From what we know about his upbringing, he was first raised by Lupa to value strength and independence above all else. Then he was raised by the legion, also not known for being particularly generous or understanding.

On top of that, following the establishment that he’s been in the legion since the ripe age of 3-4 based off of his tattoos, he likely had most of his fellow cohort members graduate on him before he was Percy’s age when Percy first got to camp half blood. Even if the son of Jupiter was allowed to have friends, he still wouldn’t have been able to keep them for long.

Yet he somehow learned to value the least of the legion above all else. He didn’t become callous or cruel, he found his own way. In a way, I think it makes him the strongest of the seven. It’s easy to choose good when you’ve had a loving example in your life like Percy, even if he also had Gabe to deal with. That shows you that love is real and worth protecting. It’s hard to learn this on your own, especially when everyone else is pushing the ideals of strength and independence as superior.

Jason was supposed to be the Luke Castellan of Camp Jupiter. He was arguably the most important figure in the entire Titan war by choosing new Rome instead.

so we know children of hades can shadow travel and children of demeter can travel via plant. it stands to reason that the other big six kids (if not more demigods as a whole) have methods of near instantaneous travel. in TLO it's revealed the gods travel using the winds and thats their teleporting. so that's what zeus kids can do. so i think poseidon kids should be able to enter one body of water (even just a puddle) and exit another. thoughts?

If Jason had been written to have atleast somewhat of a jealousy streak of Percy, then it would have made him more human tbh. Ironically I feel like the fandom would've been much more empathetic to his character, if he acknowledged that he envied Percy a little and then came to terms with it. We know that Jason's fear of being 2nd best is a very integral part of his character, I mean, Gaia taunting him with that in his nightmares was enough to reduce him into tears. and that's the ONLY time we've even remotely seen him cry. Percy had so many things Jason didn't have, a loving mom, a loving girlfriend who took a knife for him and never broke his heart, a loving camp that looked for him endlessly after he went missing, people ACTUALLY wanting him to survive because they care about him not because they need him for glory, etc. and if im being honest Poseidon wasn't even that bad of a father (for a big three god, atleast) tbh he still came to percy's 15th birthday, invited him to fishing, genuinely loved sally, she was probably the only mortal he fell in love with and it stayed that way, he was never rude to percy and stuck up for him etc. not tryna say percy had it easy or anything ofc he didnt, but there is no point in denying that he had a MUCH better support system than jason ever had.

The fact that Jason despite having none of these things was not even remotely envious of Percy made him appear like a bland robot with no emotional baggage

Compare this to Nico, who was rightfully a little jealous/idolizing Percy while simultaneously having a crush on him, also a little jealous of Jason because he was "the golden boy" who everyone respected, it made him have SO much depth and the fandom loves him (rightfully so)

also, leo. He was resentful of Percy up until blood of Olympus because of how everyone loved him, how Calypso fell for him almost immediately, etc. it's very realistic.Jason feeling a little resentful of Percy and then later talking it out would've made his character much less of a shallow stereotypical nice guy that ppl dislike.

maybe Rick could've expanded on Jason's jealousy of how quickly camp Jupiter accepted Percy and how quickly Reyna made him praetor, when jason himself had dedicated his whole life to it and was only made praetor in the last couple months, how camp Jupiter and his supposed friends never held a memorial for him even after they thought he was dead, etc. Also how Percy spent more time with thalia than jason ever did, we know he did feel a little envious since he mentioned how much he wished thalia looked for him the way she was looking for percy

I would've loved to see Jason being a little cold to Reyna too because of this and then they later talk it out, since it's VERY realistic, I was surprised with how quickly jason shrugged the whole Percy- being- a -praetor thing off, I thought he'd have felt a little betrayed by Reyna considering that they were childhood friends, and reyna never really sent a search party or something after him like annabeth did, gods, the amount of angst potential this man had i love him ugh

My Head Canons on the Pjo Character's Middle Names (bc every one of these is so fun to read) [Part 1]

Percy: HEAR ME OUT. I feel like Sally was kind of obliged by her love for Poseidon to name Percy a Greek name. But I feel like otherwise, she would have named him after a famous name in literature, since she loves lit so much. So I feel like his middle name would def be something related to literature. A character, an author, anything. Here are some random examples of names I have so far: Perseus Woolf Jackson, Percy Conan Jackson (bc of Arthur conan doyle AND conan gray cuz she's a livie)

Annabeth: I'm sorry. I can't get Annabeth Rose Chase out of my head. Rose is such a pretty yet such a strong name. It stands for strong feminity, cuz a rose has thorns too!

Hazel: The first thing that came to mind was Hazel Lorelai Levesque. Partly because I liked the name after listening to somebody talk about a show I didn't know about called gilmore girls. BUT it's very her imo. It sounds right

Grover: This was easy in terms of themes. After narrowing it down, I present to you; Grover Rowan Underwood

Leo: Leonidas Valentino Valdez has a nice flow to it ngl, but if someone has better names, please tell me because im not 100% on this
