Welcome to another round of W2 Tells You What You Should See, where W2 (me) tries to sell you (you) on something you should be watching. Today's choice: 괴물/Beyond Evil.

Beyond Evil is a 2021 Korean drama about two cops that solve a small-town murder that one of them might have committed. Also there's more than one murder to be solved. Also more than one of those murders happened twenty years ago. Also, the cop might have gotten away with at least one of those too.

It got sold to me on the strength of the main pairing, which is absolutely captivating and worth the price of admission. But the entire cast is amazing, the story is great, and it's all just so satisfying. I love everyone in this weird small Korean town. I love having emotions and various Korean foods with them.

I got five reasons why you should watch it! Read 'em!

1. Do You Want To See An Old Man Cry?

In fact, do you want to see every man cry? Do you want to see every man in the cast either cry or pretend to cry or be on the verge of tears at least once? Do you want to see the main characters, who are both men, cry multiple times, often while otherwise wet as well?

Well, buddy, Beyond Evil has got you covered.

2. Absolute Nightmare/Absolute Nightmare

I do not consider it a spoiler to tell you that Han Juwon (the younger one, on the right) is a very mentally unstable superboy. You already know everyone thinks Lee Dongsik (the older one, on the left) is psycho -- it's nearly the first thing you learn about him. But when you're introduced to Han Juwon, you're given the impression that maybe he's just cold, self-possessed, and competent.

No. He is an absolute freak. This is a freak4freak relationship. They are both completely unhinged. They have both been traumatized to nigh-unimaginable degrees, and they have each decided to make it the other's problem. Fortunately (or unfortunately) for both of them, they both get off on that real hard, and they get real mad sometimes about how hard they're getting off on it. It's delicious.

And yet what makes it great is how they're different flavors of freak. They've got the age difference (40 and 27). They've got the height difference (even though the actors are only like 1cm apart, the whole thing is somehow shot like there's a bigger gap). They've got the class difference (small town weirdo and cop royalty). One's a messy bitch, and one's a prissy prince. One has a whole network of people who affectionately endure him, and one has exactly 0.73 friends. One wants to take care of everyone else but not himself, and one has never looked out for anyone else a day in his life. One's a smug little shit, and one's ... also a smug little shit, but differently.

You have perhaps been given the impression that Beyond Evil is like Hannibal, and that Juwon/Dongsik is like Will Graham/Hannibal Lecter. It's not, and yet it scratches a similar itch, if that makes sense.

Don't let me give you the impression that this is textually gay. They do not smooch or anything, so don't be waiting for that. But holy cow, is it homoromantic -- and the leads know it is, and they roll around in it, and everyone else in the production supports their doing it. They have the kind of chemistry stars are jealous of. (It helps that the younger actor is a muffin who has a such crush on the older one.)

And that's even before the part where they get married live on national television. Is that a joke? You'll have to watch to find out.

3. Lee Changjin (and the other antagonists)

I'll talk in a second about excellent and despicable all the bad guys are. But I need a special moment for this motherfucker right here.

Lee Changjin is a wretched, scummy piece of shit who damn near walks away with every scene he's in. He's not the worst like a little meow meow -- he is the actual worst, and it's so good. He's sleazy. He's pathetic. He's hot as fuck. You meet his ex-wife, and you're like, no, honey, sure it was a bad decision, but I totally get it.

Clearly he has a special place in my heart, but all the bad guys in this series are done so damn well. Their realism makes them even scarier. They're not incomprehensible ghouls out there being bad just to be bad. They're (mostly) making calculated decisions based on keeping their own heads above water, and to hell with everyone else.

I'm not going to spoil the identity of the murderer for you -- but it kind of doesn't matter, because you find out who it is less than halfway through the show (and because there are multiple people in this show who've killed someone). There's something bigger and more awful at work here, perpetrated by people that you knew were bad news from the moment you met them.

Beyond Evil is a cop show that is not copaganda, because one of the biggest villains in the series is misuse of police power. The show stresses accountability for police misconduct -- to the point where that accountability hurts characters we want to see get away with stuff because, come on, their bad behavior was totally justified! But it wasn't! The ends do not justify the means here. The world is not better when powerful people use their power to get out of the consequences of their shitty, selfish actions, even when those shitty, selfish actions were objectively kind of cool.

Fair warning, a lot of this show is about complicated relationships with abusive, absent, deceased, and otherwise difficult parents. Those parents are not always (or even mostly) the bad guys -- but the bad guys are all shitty parents. And yet, their adult children are tied to them in complicated ways that do said children no favors. Some of the most heartbreaking pieces of the show are about how these kids break free from those parents -- or, more tragically, don't.

4. Just plain good television

This is a series that can be handled by Your Average American Television Enjoyer Who Can Handle Subtitles. Its quality is on par with a lot of well-thought-of English-language shows I've seen. It's a tight, well-plotted story that's clear enough to be easy to follow, which is sometimes a high bar for a multi-tendriled murder mystery. The small-town setting even gives it a good source of levity to break up the otherwise tight tension.

It's only sixteen episodes long, but there are enough reveals to make a rewatch more than worth your while. The first half in particular improves exponentially on the second viewing, because once you have all the information, events and decisions that you initially read one way, you can see meant something else entirely.

I was initially going to say that if this were in English, all those fans of things like the Wire and True Detective would be super-horny for it -- except that's not true, is it? No, shows like that (which I have seen, for the record) glorify cops who can't be held down by your damn system, so they have to say screw the rules to get things done, because they're too cool and manly for things like paperwork! While Beyond Evil acknowledges that there are some places where the Korean law system is janky and might let a guilty person go free, but that doesn't mean cops get to do whatever they want about it.

My declaration of the show's quality isn't just me judging by my own tastes. This show won the Korean equivalent of Emmys for Best Drama, Best Screenplay, and a well-deserved Best Actor for Shin Hakyun, who plays that incredibly handsome horrible old man. This is a show that actual people who hand out actual awards for good television thought deserved awards.

So I guess if you always wanted to get into those shows a certain kind of dude can't stop talking about, but you had reservations about how authoritarian/libertarian/misogynistic/homophobic/boring they are, Beyond Evil is here for you!

5. Written and directed by women

This one I think is important as hell, because this is a Dead Girl Show (i.e., a show where men kill multiple women as a major part of the plot), and I know a lot of people are justifiably wary about those. However, there are no hints of sexual assault. The violence is gendered, but it's not sexualized. The murders and postmortem mutiliations are handled with the appropriate horror, but it's not torture porn. And the dead girls are treated like -- and grieved like -- actual humans who matter.

I think a whole lot of this can be chalked up to the fact that both the writer and the director of Beyond Evil are women.

In fact, not only are they both women, they're women who don't do this kind of story all the time. Shim Nayeon has directed five things, four of which are comedy/slice-of-life series. Kim Sujin has written a few dramas about mystery-solving teams, but even more comedy and adaptations of webtoons. I have no idea how the two of them got put on this drama together, but it was a perfect match.

This is not to say that men would be incapable of pulling off a story like this. It is, however, a commentary on violence, and how different it looks if you've grown up seeing yourself everywhere as its object rather than its subject. Sure, you could just flip the script and make a story about a lady punchkicker! A lot of people have, and I've enjoyed many of them! But you could also choose to tell a story about gendered violence in a way that isn't just needlessly retraumatizing the people who have to live their entire lives under its shadow. Moreover, you could tell a story about how even good-guy cops can wind up unintentionally buying into paradigms where some women are valuable and some are disposible.

...And if it winds up being teensy bit of a fantasy story about a world in which so many cops give a shit about this violence, well, that's what fiction is for, right?

In short, you love a team of powerful ladies power-drunk on an Arnold Palmer of Respect Women Juice and Sad Man Tears.

It's on Netflix, which may be easiest for most people! However, it's also on Viki, and I much prefer the subtitles over there, because a) they keep the flavor of the Korean terms of address, and b) they actually translate the damn episode titles (wtf Netflix?).

There's no bad way to watch it, though!

Propaganda Under Cut

Han Sooyoung

han sooyoung is one of the main trio protagonists yet people constantly ignore her in order to ship the other two males despite the fact that they are all doomed by the narrative TOGETHER!!! fanon content is even worse because it either slaps a lesbian sticker onto her to shittily write her off in fanfic OR they make her so one dimensional its like a cardboard stand in. han sooyoung arguably has a more important/interesting dynamic with the main male protagonist yet everyone ignores her because they want their uwu gay babies IM SO SICK OF ORV FANS

Dokja and Joonghyuk are a very popular ship (rightfully so, i get it) but usually Sooyoung is seen as in the way of their relationship or not as valued as the other two even though her place in the story and relationship with the other characters is just as strong. Recently there was a post on twitter being rude about people who ship her and Joonghyuk (which is a super valid ship) and i saw a lot of hate that i believe just stems from her getting “in the way” of a yaoi ship.

Shinoa Hiiragi

The fandom hated her for getting in the way of Mika/Yuu (she had a crush on yuu). The rare times they didn’t hate her they made her into a fujoshi obsessed with shipping them which isn’t in character at all. In fact if you look at the owari no seraph specials she would ship yuu with kimizuki but no one even cares

One of my favorite characters ever forever and treated heinously by crazed fujoshis that hallucinated she was getting in the way of MikaYuu, which for the record she wasn’t! I mean even if she WAS getting between them it wouldn’t justify the crazy misogyny that got thrown at her but she had a ONE-SIDED CRUSH on Yuu. He didn’t even like her back. What was the issue, then? An unrequited crush is not going to prevent a relationship! Whatever I haven’t even told you about her. She’s Silly. She’s incredibly cunning and a great leader, in fact she is the leader of the anime’s main squad. She’s calculating. She’s a gossip and a prankster and a bit flirty and a bit mean-spirited and she presents herself in a Silly Goofy way, in part to cover up the amounts of angst in her backstory, like my girl has ISSUES. She even has an epic demon weapon that is better and cooler than most other demon weapons but if you ask any fangirl from way-back-when, she’s just a bitch and the personification of evil. and probably homophobic too, even though she has a girl rival-turned-friend which is the gayest trope out there.

She seems to be the (male) protagonist's love interest and appears to be canonically in love with him, but he is not interested in her whatsoever, often brushing her off and dismissing her in favor of thinking about his found family instead. I don't necessarily ship him romantically with any other male character (i hc him as aroace) but by god the anime was extremely charged with homoromantic subtext in every corner. One of those "holding each other's faces in the opening, spends the entire first season pining and wishing to be reunited" types. The fandom ships her love interest with another male character to the extent that I started watching the show in the first place because i kept seeing ship posts of the main character with that other guy thought they were cute. And also i cannot fucking stand her personality and want to light her on fire. I think the rest of the fandom agrees with me but I'm honestly not sure. I'm also a gay man so i think you could argue that I, the submitter, could play the role of the "yaoi" terrorising her as well

RWBY HEADCANONS!!!

Some RWBY headcanons I have all shared in one place cause the brainrot is real. Most are queer/shipping headcanons, but not all (Spoilers for Volume 9, also not all characters are included, just the ones I do have a headcanon about)

Ruby is a homoromantic asexual. She's always had romantic feelings for Penny since she loves goofballs, and has started falling for Weiss after spending more time with her. In between volume 5 and 6 is when she truly fell for her. In her ideal world, she'd be in a poly relationship with them both. For a non-queer/ship headcanon, she has ADHD

Next is Weiss, who I headcanon as pansexual. Her crushes on Neptune and adult Jaune were pretty shallow and nothing serious (not that she doesn't like them at all, just doesn't see a future with them). She also had a crush on Pyrrha, but was respectful and backed off when she started suspecting Jaune might've had feelings for her too, which was timed perfectly since that's when Neptune came in the picture. She didn't like Ruby at first, either as a person or romantically, but both of those feelings grew over the years and she now does like Ruby but doesn't want to admit it to anyone, even herself

I guess it's a trend of mine to headcanon my favourite characters as queer transfems, and that's the case with Penny. I can totally see Pietro building a "wrong body" for her at first, and since she didn't have a concept of bigotry at the time, she wasn't afraid to ask him to change her body, which he happily agreed to and apologized for not getting it right straight away, although she always forgives him. For sexuality, I see her as demisexual. She didn't have feelins for Ruby until they spent time together and got to know each other better. She wanted to ask Ruby out after the Vytal tournament and enrolling at Beacon, then again after escaping Atlus together, but I don't think I need to mention why neither of those worked. She also has no ill-will toward Pyrrha. If Pyrrha were still alive, Penny would hug her close and tell her it was okay

From my favourite character to my favourite male character, Qrow. First of all, I know the behind the scenes reason his voice changed, but I like the headcanon that it changed in the show cause he cut back on drinking. Maybe not altogether, but significantly less than he used to. Along with Ruby I also see him as a homoromantic asexual. His whole womanizing act is just that, an act to seem cool. In actuality, Clover was the only person in years he ever had feelings for.

Neo is short and simple, like her character (I love her). I see her as a aroace transfem. At first she used her semblance to look how she wanted, but now she naturally looks that way. Also not really a headcanon but pLEASE DON'T LET HER SPEAK, I HATE THAT FAN THEORY SO MUCH, KEEP HER MUTE

Winter I also see as aroace. Relationships confuse her more than anything, but the more her and Weiss get close, the more she teases Weiss guys to annoy her (she doesn't know Weiss is pan and assumes she's straight, but would be supportive if Weiss came out)

I think those are all my headcanons. Sorry for my ramblings, thank you for reading. I also have a theory for how I think the show will end, but that'll be a seperate post

I'm happy that they went with the Buck and Tommy storyline, 'cause I really don't think it would have worked with Tommy and Eddie (especially if they would have them kiss in the 100th episode)

In my head Eddie is demisexual (if not wholly asexual), but I'm not sure if homoromantic or biromantic, but I'm leaning towards homoromantic.

He only had 3 relationships, and honestly he only thinks positively of his relationship with Shannon ("I loved being married to her"), but he spent most of their marriage not physically with her. Also from what we know he was friends with her first and they only got married because of Chris. I kinda believe if not for Chris they would have gone back to being friends (also if they the show haven't killed off Shannon, we could have gotten a good divorced parents who stayed friends -besides Michael and Athena).

His relationship with Ana was built on the fact that he wanted to find someone who could be a mother-figure to Chris and would fit into what his parents wanted to him. Also the "I thought I'd love you in time" (i'm paraphrasing) is the most demi thing to say. Also the panic attacks are like not normal even if you're not ready for being a ready made family, it points to something deeper.

Before Pepa started to set him up on blind dates, Eddie was really content in living his life just with Chris and having Buck and the 118 around them as a family and support system and I don't think if not for those blind dates (and Buck starting dating, which kinda scared him into thinking he needs someone too as Buck is gonna have different priority now) he wouldn't have gone dating Marisol. My main to support this is that before the blind dates, Felisa could have been a perfect love interest, but he wasn't interested in her that way. But the people around him started to make him dating again into a thing (not intentionally, but having romantic relationships is a big part of society and too many people seems to think that without a romantic partner our life is incomplete), so he kinda asked asked out the first woman he ran into.

Now with his relationship with Marisol, he's overcompensating and trying too hard to turn this relationship into the perfect one. Like he's moving Marisol into his house after dating her for like 3 months, and I know the whole "she wants to have sex with me" storyline is supposed to be funny, but it doesn't feel like Eddie knows he can say no to it (hiding in your best friend's flat is not a behaviour that screams "I know what consent is and I know nobody is entitled having to sex with me 'cause we did it before").

But to turn back to my original point, Eddie is soo repressed and even if he wasn't realising you're demisexual is hard and most people thing that's how everybody feels, so he probably doesn't even realises that's not how allo people feel, let alone that he's not straight. As someone who is asexual themselves, for the longest time I thought it's normal not to find anyone hot (I always joked that I feel the same way about a hot girl as I feel about a hot guy - I don't feel nothing except noting that they're pretty).

So I don't think they could've played it out in a 1.5 episode storyline with Tommy (it works with Buck, it was suprising, but not unbelievable), not even in a 6 episode long one.

Having Eddie realise he's into Buck is a different story for me, because in that case, the backstory and emotions are already there and Eddie just need to work out what are they (I also believe he's unconsiously aware of them)

Anyway demi! Eddie is special to me and I can write multiple essays on him

Any other trans friends i could use ur personal knowledge input. Ill also look this up though so don't worry im assuming like the definution of bi theres gonna be varied overlapping definitions

(So pre warning these first big paragraphs are preamble on what ive heard as far as more recent definitions, it can ALL be skipped down to my question. Basic summary is: DEI taught about gender identity, gender presentatuon, and sexuality spectrums and how they dont necesarily match the way stereotypes would expect as each Individual experiences those 3 spectrums their own way). Okay so the last time i got proper formal definitions taught was a Diversity Equity Inclusion training. Which was eons ahead of what my schools ever taught but it was still not all encompassing. Training included mentioning: sexuality is a spectrum, pansexuality and bisexuality are being able to feel attraction to multiple genders, heterosexuality and homosexuality are attraction to one gender, asexuality as an umbrella term for people who experience no sexual attraction or various levels different than the other sexualities, queer is an all encompassing umbrella term that lgbt people may use but a person outside the community should not use to refer to a person unless specifically asked to (and its also a label various academic texts use to describe lgbt elements discussed). Also the romantic attaction spectrum was mentioned, as like the sexuality spectrum but not necessarily matching it for any particular person (as in one can be bisexual and demiromantic, homoromantic and asexual, not just say bisexual and alloromantic). Training mentioned gender identity is a spectrum (and nonbinary is an umbrella term, as is genderqueer, for various identites that dont identify as men and women, agender includes people who do not identify with genders - basically gender is diverse as human experience, as with all other points).

Gender Presentation is a spectrum, and they do NOT have to match up (such as a butch woman, a feminine woman who goes by he him, a feminine man who uses he him, a masculine looking man who wears dresses basically in terms of clothing hair pronouns social activities any person can embody any kind of traits along the masculine to feminine spectrum - and may also align them differently as in a country woman may see "girls dont cry!" As a feminine associated expectation while an oldest son might also see "boys dont cry" as a masculine associate expectation to his own life experience, i could go on forever but basically clothes/hobbies do NOT equal gender identity. Pronouns do NOT necessarily equal gender identity). So like. The trainer my nonbinary coworker used examples like them using the pronouns they/he/she and prefering to dress more masculine but still using they/she/he and sometimes really enjoying dresses and still using they/she/he, of how some butch women may prefer he him or she her and theyre women If they simply identify as women, women who wear pants and no makeup and go by she her, men who love makeup and go by he him, some of my coworkers realized that day they prefered they/them (presentation) even if their gender identity was man or woman. Basically the point is Presentation is diverse. There is no one to one perfect list of traits to define what each gender identity "must be." Youre your gender identity because you are that gender, it feels right for you. You express and present yourself how you want, and that doesnt necessarily align with masc for men or fem for woman or androgynous for nonbinary, those are just the basic things strangers might assume. And the person labelling themselves understands more than you. (So in this case like gender nonconforming presentation would be a man who wears glam makeup or woman who never wears makeup, a nonbinary person who leans heavily into clothes that arent associated with androgyny, im not explaining well but i hope u are kinda getting my point).

Anyway my point was Gender Identity (im a guy a girl im nonbinary im agender), is not the same as Gender Presentation (the spectrum of human traits society vaguely interprets as masculine feminine and androgynous and where each individual lands in terms of presenting themselves such as clothing, hair, hobbies, social traits, etc)

Now my question Im really confused about:

Im nonbinary im bi. Im also a few other things and sometimes just saying im queer makes my life easier.

Im a bit confused about what transmasc and transfem as labels mean. Because i can only interpret the words on my current knowledge by guessing the masc and fem in the words Either relate to Gender Identity, or Gender Presentation. The words obviously are for trans people. But i have no idea at all where a trans butch woman falls in this scale, or a trans man who dresses very femininely, or nonbinary people like me who embrace masculinity and femininity a lot (and hey its okay if maybe nonbinary ppl like me just dont fit inside these terms).

Is the masc and fem in those labels referring to "man-spectrum" gender IDENTITY and "woman-spectrum" gender IDENTITY?

So this would mean maybe transfem: trans woman, any nonbinary or genderqueer person who relates slightly more to feeling the gender of woman, this would include trans butch women, and nonbinary people with beards etc who present visually very masculine but identify slightly more with women

Transmasc: trans man, nonbinary or genderqueer person who relates more slightly to the gender of man. This would include feminine trans men who wear dresses and makeup, include nonbinary people who Present visually very feminine but identify slightly more with men

OR is the masc and fem relating to gender PRESENTATION? Which would mean the terms include any trans person of any gender identity, who mainly presents masculine or mainly presents feminine

Transfem: trans women who are feminine presenting, trans men who are feminine presenting, nonbinary people who are more feminine presenting visually (feminine presenting as in clothing, hairstyles, hobbies etc that generally are interpreted by others as feminine)

Transmasc: trans men who are masculine presenting, trans women who are masculine presenting, nonbinary people who are more masculine presenting visually

Can you see where im getting confused? Depending on if masc and fem are refering to gender identity Or presentation, a trans butch woman is transmasc or transfem. So would a trans butch woman be transfem for transitioning to a woman physically, or transmasc for physically presenting masculinely and being trans. Would a nonbinary person who medically transitioned taking testosterone who wears dresses and makeup be a transmasc (for being a trans man) or transfem for being a trans person who presents feminine fashion choices. And im assuming the labels dont include nonbinary people that dont really lean one way or the other but like... if a nonbinary person is included in the terms is it based on the gender they more closely identify to on the spectrum (which for some of us is None, is multiple, is gender identities not within man or woman), or in the terms it is based on their visual presentation (which again! (And i suppose part of my confusion is like. Unfortunately in my social media experience over the last 10 years i saw the rise of "are you afab or amab" which screamed unpleasant unnecessary attempts to drag us back to "but what were u before transition" bullshit, and then recently in the "girl dinner" "boys are academia girls are shopping" and the lgbt community similar memes "lesbians are cottagecore gay men are clubbing" "transmen are so bob the builder transwomen are so my little pony" its giving Gender Expectations. Its giving: old school traditional limiting gender requirements on people if they want to conform to traditionalist norms. Its giving girls are stupid and soft abd emotional and boys are strong and smart and analytical - which isnt true by the way, you can be any traits regardless of gender identity you are. Ive been seeing a lot of "transmascs are army clips" "transfem are delicate jewelry" memes lately and its just like... aside from the fact im already sick of reinforcing gender stereotypes in a broad way. The memes are also confusing me because im like okay so is this implying trans men MUST be masculine, and transwomen MUST be feminine? Cause if its about gender identity, then that sure feels like thats the implication. I dont necessarily think the actual labels imply that necessarily, but i do think the memes of this nature just like ALL the widespread gender-stereotype memes imply some shit about expectations i do not like seeing reinforced as much as it goes around)

Barbie Wire (formerly Buckzo) has always been her father's favorite child. She was kept out of the knowledge that Blitz was being mistreated by their father, and tends to stand with him on most things. She trusts him above all others and will follow his word when he gives it. She is, however, willing to listen to Blitz when he needs it, and has stood up for him more in their adult lives.

Being a poor, uneducated circus clown has not been kind to her when it comes to getting other jobs. She cannot read or write very well and is useless when asked to handle numbers or money. He feels an overwhelming desire to fight any and all men that he comes across, including his own son. This is a huge portion of why he abuses Blitz, and he honestly believes that if Blitz was born Barbie's identical twin instead of fraternal that he'd like him more.

He is ruthless and penny-pinching and has always held tangible gifts and belongings above others. When it comes to his work, he will push his employees way harder than he should, because he needs to have as much money as he can. He rarely spends it. Some of the money they received from selling Paimon's stuff went to purchasing a run-down, half-renovated camper for Tilla and Barbie to live in that he has since moved into with his daughter.

Chazz is originally from the Brokenverse, but migrated to the mainverse after some trouble he had with his only line of defense against Torim (Brokenverse Crimson) and Toxxine (Brokenverse Moxxie).

Chazz grew up in Greed with a single father and his older brother, Mickey. When he found out his wife was pregnant with Mickey, his father left the mafia he'd been in with his brother, Alessio, to start a family. Chazz's birth marked the death of his mother, and only made his father double down about not joining the mafia again. He didn't want to put his sons in danger.

For the most part, he was a happy child. He made friends with the kids at the orphanage near the apartment he lived in with his family and could do so easily. He and Mickey had always been close, despite the five-year age gap between them. The one point of contention they had was their mother.

When Chazz was twelve, their father had gone to the grocery store to get breakfast items and was an accidental casualty in a mob fight. Mickey did his best for several months trying to take care of Chazz, but in that time his drug habit became incredibly obvious and Chazz began to pick up parts of it, as well. Mickey's breaking point led to him calling Alessio and employing both of them in Torim's Family.

Mickey became a dealer for any kinds of drugs and weapons Torim needed him to peddle, and Chazz showed immediate prowess with vehicle repair and maintenance. While he was young, that was his priority job, to help out with all the vehicles the family owned. When he was thirteen and Moxxie was fifteen, they met when Chazz was messing around on the piano in Moxxie's house.

It was through Chazz and his unending support and encouragement that Moxxie was able to come out as transfeminine when she was sixteen, and they began to date shortly after his fifteenth birthday. Toxxine was more or less sweet to him, though they had their moments. He never seemed to realize that when she broke his heart, she did it on purpose. He always believed she was being truthful and honest with him, especially when she wasn't.

Torim despised their relationship, and Toxxine was always doing anything that she could to maintain her father's love and attention, so she broke it off with Chazz when he was twenty. Torim wanted him executed and Toxxine was going to do it herself, but Chazz ran at the last second, stealing his uncle's motorcycle in the process.

The Hellevator was going to Pride next, and he took that ride immediately without knowing where else to go. He bused tables and did a few other odd jobs before he got the attention of Vince (Brokenverse Vox), who took him in and made him a star. He played in a one-man band in which he played all the instruments, wrote every song, and sang everything. Nat 20 was a big hit, even securing number-one spots on the charts several times.

He entered into a relationship with Vince, Tino (Brokenverse Valentino), and Lowell (Brokenverse Ostello), though he made it clear he wasn't looking for romance. For a long while, this was fine with everyone involved. While he was working for Vince, he still couch-surfed among friends he made through his music or otherwise. One such Sinner was a witch, whose grimoire he stole one evening after thumbing through it. He stayed in a hotel for a few days during a string of fights with Vince, only leaving if he had to.

The fights ultimately culminated in Vince revoking his protections on Chazz's life and handing him over to Torim and Toxxine. Instead of letting himself be killed, he used the grimoire to find himself a new universe, ending up in the mainverse.

Fizzarolli was born in Greed to an imp and succubus parents who didn't see his worth at a young age. During a visit to the circus when he was four, Cash noticed just how cute Fizzarolli was when he started talking to Blitzo. He was already talented, showing off some juggling skills that were advanced for such a young kid. He offered to pay to take him off the parents' hands, and the deal went over swimmingly. He does not know he has two siblings.

Growing up in Cash's circus, he was the star of the show. He always wanted to be the best at clowning, seeing Mammon as his hero that he aspired to be like. Pushing himself became something that he did constantly, ignoring other needs and things to perfect his acts and keep his skills sharp. He is a very talented clown and was always good at everything that Cash supplied him with. Sometimes he spurned hanging out with Blitz and Barbie to practice, which became something of a sore spot on occasion.

After the fire on his birthday, Fizzarolli was a broken man who stayed in Sloth for several months while he was given prosthetics and learned to use them. He began covering his broken horns and hid his body more. His newfound limbs were hard to manage, and he practiced his clowning with them to keep himself moving.

When he was 24 he enrolled in Mammon's clown pageant and won his first win, becoming Mammon's new brand baby. He always felt so inspired to further make himself desirable to his fans and to Mammon, and it became his life's purpose. It was through Mammon designing his sex bots with Ozzie that he met Asmodeus for the first time. Asmodeus made him a new set of limbs with extendable features that were then programmed into his sex bots.

Over the years, he became bitter and hateful, channeling it into his routines. With Barbie, he eventually became an alcoholic as that was her way of helping him recover. They remain best friends, even if he was upset with Blitzo. Eventually, he became involved with Ozzie and their romance was swift and necessaary to his recovery. Howl’s Moving Castle (and the whole series) by Diana Wynne Jones — is it a children’s book? yes. is it beautiful and wonderful and makes me so so happy? also yes. if you’ve seen the movie disregard it when reading the book. they’re similar in concept but not really the same. the movie is great but the book is great in a different way so i’d recommend it if you want something calm and magical and perfect

Vicious by V.E. Schwab (one of my fav authors) — this book,, is kinda fucked up. it is.. weird. the main character is in a rivalry with another guy that is so hateful on both ends that it’s actually kinda homoromantic ngl. it is a very revenge-focused book and it does get dark sometimes but overall it won’t shatter you i prommy

Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett — if you haven’t seen the show (doubtful, everyone has) and even if you have seen it it’s wonderful. the show is fantastic obviously but book crowley and book aziraphale will always have my heart

I really really recommend anything by Chuck Palahniuk. Fight Club is his most famous novel but it gets really fucked up so if that’s not your vibe maybe skip him. if it is your vibe i’d recommend The Invention Of Sound (really fucked up actually might shatter you i think it changed me irrevocably) or Invisible Monsters (mildly fucked up but I’m only halfway through it rn so it might get worse?)

The Raven Cycle series by Maggie Stiefvater (book one is The Raven Boys) — this series is gay and also weird. very weird. i don’t think i can explain it kind of weird. i think i read this whole series in 3 days when i got it. it has a definite vibe. i don’t know what that vibe is but it has one. also technically probably a ya series but i don’t remember

anything by Neal Shusterman — i was obsessed with his books for years i think i’ve read almost everything he’s written. a lot of his books are ya novels but they focus on a lot of serious issues in very interesting ways. one of my favorite series by him is called the Skinjacker trilogy and oh my god that sounds so sinister it’s not i prommy. first book is Everlost. it reads almost like a children’s book based on the vibes but it has some deep topics and i don’t remember if it will shatter your heart or not. would also recommend the scythe series and the unbound series but those also deal with heavier topics so keep that in mind

classics (some have a particular writing style that some people have a hard time understanding so if you do then ignore these):

read anything by Jane Austen but especially Emma it is so good

if you haven’t read the Great Gatsby do that. defiantly some gay vibes but a sad-ish end so idk. and it’s important to read. i read it every year. it’s so good

The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde — one of my favorite classics i was obsessed with this for years, kinda fucked up in the way that all classics are but it’s only sad depending on your outlook

the ones i’d recommend the most are Howl’s Moving Castle, Vicious, Good Omens, and Invisible Monsters

tbh i’m the type to look for heart-shattering, thought provoking, really weird books so i tried to recommend the less messed up ones. i was combing my bookshelf and looking through my drawers (i have so many books) but most of them make people cry so a lot of the ones i recommended were ya or on a thin line. except for Howl’s Moving Castle. it’s my #1 favorite chill book (and only chill book apparently)

but if you ever want books that will kill you on the spot i can recommend you great things

I used to date men and always felt a little off, like something was missing or i was doing something wrong because it didn't feel as good as my friends described it or people on the internet did, I was always wondering when things (not only sexually but all of it) would feel right. I even have a lovely son.

When I was little and I used to think to myself "I must be a lesbian because i don't like boys" but because of how i decided to navigate my adolescence and such, I'm having trouble with my identity right now. So I thought it would be great to know someone else's experience, when did you got certain of your identity as a lesbian? was it hard to accept? how was that process for you or you always knew? thank you for your time and I hope this doesn't not make you uncomfortable ❤️

So, my experiences regarding my sexuality started when I was little. Back then I didn’t know what those experiences meant, but now that I know I am a lesbian they make sense.

I’d feel disgusted when I was like 5 and one of my uncles would always ask me about any boyfriends. I’d look at pretty women a little too much and think I was only admiring them (which never happened when it came to boys/men). I had a lot of fictional female characters and celebrities I’d be obsessed with and didn’t know how to name those feelings. Meanwhile my friends would obsess over boys and talk about their boy crushes and I simply could never understand what they were talking about because I’ve never really understood the hype when it came to boys/men. I’d pick my boy crushes simply based on the ones I didn’t find ugly, but I’ve never felt anything for them. I’ve tried dating men, and I’d always come up with excuses to not keep dating them, even if they were nice. I’d “like” them until they liked me back and then I’d run away. I’ve always thought I only had very high standards for men (but those standards actually don’t exist realistically). I thought I was feeling “butterflies” when trying to date men, turns out I was genuinely anxious (in a very negative way).

Then in 2019 (so I was 17/18) I first started questioning about why I would obsess over so many female characters and celebrities and in the back of my mind I knew that happened because I’ve always been attracted to women. I also started questioning what I felt about a girl I’d constantly think about because it didn’t make sense why I would think so much about her, and then after talking with a lesbian friend of mine it got me thinking that I could actually be attracted to her. It took me a while to accept myself as a sapphic, and it wasn’t because of internalized homophobia, it was way more because of fear of being accepted by my family and society. I think during that time I got on Tik Tok and seeing so many videos of other sapphics it made me realize I couldn’t be living in fear of other people and their approval, because then I’d never truly be happy.

It was in 2020 that I started calling myself bisexual, and that was because after I realized my attraction to women and accepted that, I never even questioned my attraction to men (even though I’ve always gave signs that I’ve never liked them). I remember it was in like February and I went on a date with a guy and it was one of the moments I felt most anxious in my whole life, for a brief moment I actually thought “maybe I am a lesbian”, but didn’t let those thoughts get over me. I think it was in the end of 2020 that I started thinking I was bisexual and homoromantic, because at that point I had accepted I could just never see myself in a relationship with a man, but I still thought I was sexually attracted to them.

After I watched one Tik Tok that in the comments someone mentioned how attraction to only unattainable men (fictional and celebrities) that could be a sign that you’re actually a lesbian, that really got me thinking and made me question my entire life experiences. It was right after that I realized I’ve always been a lesbian and that I’ve never liked men in a romantic and sexual way.

So no, I didn’t always know about my identity. It took me some years of feeling isolated for having different feelings and feeling different and even weird because of that. I realized my attraction to women in 2020 (so I was 18/19) and my lack of attraction to men in 2021 (19/20). I think it was more of a shock when it came to admitting to myself and accepting my attraction to women, but it was harder to figure out I’ve never been attracted to men.

Those were some of the experiences I struggled with. I’m always posting more lesbian experiences here if you want to check out. Pride Month modern AU headcanons

Hey guys! In celebration of my first ever Pride Month I get to celebrate as a fully out, bi girl, thought you guys who are possibly interested in my modern AU some of you may have seen on my wattpad I mentioned in another post would be interested in headcanons for how the characters celebrate Pride Month along with other headcanons related to their sexualities and other stuff like that!

-For their sexualities, Karl and Alcina both are pan and hate that they even share the same sexualities lol.

-Donna is bi and makes it VERY obvious lol in later chapters! As you'll clearly see lol! She's also demiromantic so although she's willing to occasionally sleep with others without the relationship, she can't really fall in love with someone she hasn't known beforehand.

-Salvatore is gay although didn't know it until college so would still try to go on dates with girls in highschool and such only just assumed he's never found the right person yet.

-In their teen years once they start learning about this kind of thing, Bela is actually bisexual although isn't interested in dating at the time.

-Cassandra is asexual/homoromantic although identified as aroace because she didn't think you COULD have a romantic relationship with anyone and NOT have sex, plus being a bit of an introvert, generally just found ALL people annoying lol so never actually cared for anyone in that way before.

-Daniela is gay through and through and got a girlfriend at 16, although didn't tell anyone right away until she got caught kissing her girlfriend in the park one day by some random, nosy, busy body homophobe.

-Miranda actually identifies as homoflexible as although she mostly was interested in women, she's found the few men she WAS willing to sleep with she actually enjoyed it although usually generally prefers women.

-Ethan is actually bi although wasn't really aware of it until Donna jokingly asked if he'd be interested in Karl if he were single to which after thinking about it, realized he either has a thing for women AND men, or just a thing for women and KARL lol! (Ethan Winters haters, get outta here, this fic has him in it and if you can't respect I ship him and Alcina just don't read this book then)

-Rosemary is actually homosexual although is aromantic which had Ethan MAJORLY relieved lol about the fact he probably won't have to worry about who Rose dates lol or about an accidental teen pregnancy lol!

-For how they celebrate Pride Month, Alcina and her daughters usually go ALL out! Alcina makes sure they all have at least ONE rainbow item on their bodies! When the girls were young these were usually just a little rainbow necklace for Bela, rainbow face paint for Cassandra, and a little rainbow skirt for Daniela, while Alcina usually just wore a rainbow neck tie, although as they got older, the girls switched to Bela wearing a rainbow cap with "Love is love" written on the front, Cassandra would just wear rubber, rainbow bracelets, and Daniela would have a rainbow hand fan to stay cool in June, while Alcina just continued to wear her tie. Alcina has also put a miniature rainbow flag on her car antennae and a giant rainbow flag hanging off the edge of the balcony on the front of her mansion (because of course this woman would be rich lol).

-Donna isn't usually as out there with showing her support although still shows it but just in more subtle ways, usually she just paints her nails rainbow and plants flowers to look like the rainbow and bi pride flags in her garden, she's noticed a funny pattern with this where only LBGTQ+ folk seem to notice these things while the homophobes she usually tries to avoid never do, she finds it funny how it's the perfect way of still showing those who would care about this stuff she still supports them, while also avoiding those who would get stupidly offended over it and attack her for it.

-Karl doesn't usually celebrate Pride Month as openly as the others although will still show his support by having a rainbow patch of sorts temporarily sewn onto his shirt or something or will have some kind of rainbow pride sticker on his motorcycle or helmet. ('cause FUCK if Karl on a motorcycle isn't hot as FUCK!! 😍😍😍)

-Sal on the other hand is even more obvious than the Dimitrescu's lmao! Going all out with gay T-shirts and tiny rainbow pride flags he takes everywhere with him and has a giant gay pride flag rainbow painted over the entrance to his place and just has all SORTS of cheesy pride paraphernalia basically everywhere, even having temporary pride tattoos on his face, the others all think it's cute though how excited he gets about Pride Month though and don't really mind.

-Despite actually liking women, it probably doesn't come as much of a surprise to any of you, Miranda doesn't celebrate Pride Month, if anything she doesn't even really tell people ANYTHING about her sexuality so most just assume she's straight lol, although before she went all insane she actually DID use to go to pride parades in the past and even in the modern day isn't really against same sex couples really, she's just against ALL couples PERIOD lol, at least under her roof! So at the very least she's fair about it lol to some extent! 😂

-Ethan and Rose generally just celebrate Pride Month with the Dimitrescu's and follow in their traditions of having something rainbow somewhere on their body, even before Ethan knew he was bi and identified as straight he still wanted to show support for his daughter and her friends and basically adoptive mom lol.

-For any of you who have read on LBGTQ+ situations in Romania though, it probably doesn't come as much of a surprise though that a lot of them have to sometimes face the occasional homophobia and in the unfortunate case of Karl, Donna and Alcina, bi/panphobia as well, although not that often in person, a few times on the internet they've had to deal with people accusing them of 'betraying the LGBTQ+ community' by being in 'straight passing' relationships, as if being with someone of the opposite gender suddenly erases the ability to still be attracted to people of the same sex or erases the B in LGBTQ+.

-Daniela's girlfriend has actually also run into a similar problem, although she identifies as lesbian, she's actually a gynephile, which has led to her running into the problem of lesbians getting mad at her for identifying as that because although MOST people she's attracted were female, she isn't attracted to women ONLY and is more generally attracted to femininity, so has actually stated she WOULD actually be willing to date a GUY if he's feminine enough and actually has a guy friend she said she'd be willing to date 'cause of how feminine he is, busty body, long, soft hair, wide hips, soft, feminine face, and is not above cross dressing or wearing makeup.

-Luckily though among all the homophobia and biphobia and panphobia though they also get a lot of support from others also outside the LGBTQ+ community as well, Donna and Karl getting tons of support from people on the internet as well about what a great couple they make and Alcina and Ethan being jokingly told they still come off as gay themselves but in a straight relationship lol because of how Alcina is clearly the one to wear the pants in the relationship lol!

Anyways, those were my Pride Month headcanons guys, hope you enjoyed learning a little more about this AU and for any of you who doesn't like the Donnaberg or Alcithan ship or just don't like Ethan or straight ships in general, just don't read this and don't go crazy over the fact I have different, slightly unpopular opinions, just stop reading if you see something you don't like and scroll past!

Okay so I’ve got two fave Helluva characters. Verosika and Fizzarolli.

While I draw Verosika a ton and absolutely love her design, I don’t really think about her a lot? So I end up not having very many headcanons for her. I do imagine that she’s a hopeless romantic though and that she truly thought she was going to spend the rest of her life with Blitz. Also, I like to imagine while dating Blitz, she and Fizz had a classic ex vs current partner rivalry, but once she and Blitz broke up, she bonded with Fizz and became fast friends :3c

Now Fizz is another story

He’s the opposite. I barely draw him, ‘cause his design scares me, but BOY do I think about him. And admittedly, I probably project myself onto him a lot. But ya know, it’s my headcanon, so I don’t care 😌

First of all, this boy has ADHD. Growing up, he had a hard time keeping still and had so many interesting ideas that he absolutely HAD to execute. He got into a lot of trouble for it, and rarely didn’t have detention.

He’s also actually really smart and was the top of his class. Everyone wonders how because he never seems to be paying attention or studying (he is, but not the conventional way). Barbie Wire theorizes that he’s actually SO smart, he sees things no one else sees and it drove him insane.

Speaking of Barbie, she 100% bullies him, and even considers herself a professional Fizzarolli bully. But it’s that fun, sisterly type of bullying. Fizz was a crybaby growing up and she loved making fun of that, but if you even THINK about calling Fizz a crybaby yourself, she’s ready to fight. Only SHE can bully him!

He was close to Tilla too! His parents neglected him and couldn’t handle his zaniness, so Tilla was really more of a parent to him than they were.

Also, because of the theories I see, I like to imagine Fizz as homoromantic demisexual? I’m hanging onto thjs very loosely, ‘cause I do have some doubts it would be true, but I dunno. The seeds for it are there.

And, of course, he and Blitz dated. Like, that’s not even a headcanon, that’s a legit theory I have. Those two were best friends, started crushing on each other, had that awkward first make out, started dating seriously, almost to the point of marriage, then Mammon came in and fucked everything up :)

Fizz decided to swear off relationships and focus on work, ‘cause fuck, they just break your heart. He decides to live as the Fizzarolli character instead of himself as a person. And that went well for like, I dunno, 15 years!

Then Asmodeous came in and fucked that up.

Fizz found himself being more his ACTUAL self around Oz, which is dangerous, ‘cause that’s how you get your heart broken! It doesn’t help that Oz seems actively interested in Fizz himself, even if he sees Fizz as more of a toy or a pet (he doesn’t, but Fizz doesn’t know that). So you know what? Fuck it. Fizz decides he WILL live as Ozzie’s pet, ‘cause he’s happier that way, and as long as it doesn’t go further than that, it should be fine, right?

(needless to say, things are not fine)

Whew, I think that’s all? Probably not, but this post is long enough as is aosnkajao

I dunno WHY I latch on the Fizz so hard; he’s officially only been in ONE episode. And I’m not even one who usually thinks of headcanons much, I’m happy enough with actual canon! But I just…I really love him and I need more of him god

Okay so I just watched Sing 2 and now you guys get my headcanons for the characters.

Johnny - He/They, Bisexual, came out to his dad before the first movie and his dad thought it was a joke (all the more reason he's so keen on making his dad proud in the first movie)

Ash - Any pronouns, genderfluid, lesbian. Thought she was bi, after breaking up with Lance she discovered maybe she wasn't attracted to men at all .

Meena - They/She, Cottagecore Pansexual. Hasn't come out to her parents because of her anxiety (they are allies tho).

Gunter - Will tell you he/him but doesn't actually care. He's giving spongebob so Homoromantic Asexual. Also maybe trans man.

Mr. Moon - Asexual, Aromantic spectrum (maybe just aromantic), possibly homoromantic. His life long dream was to open a theatre, he is not a straight man.

Miss Crawly - Lesbian. Y'know those old ones, definetley had some secret girlfriends back in her day.

Rosita - Straight Ally. "Free Mom Hugs" at pride. She has 25 children. No way all of them are straight.

Norman - Straight Ally. Doesn't actually know what's happening. Rosita made him a "Free Dad Hugs" shirt

Johnny's Dad - Raised in a homophobic household, homophobic at first, is learning. Just like the character development he got in the first movie.

Nooshy - Any pronouns, polysexual or omnisexual

Clay Calloway - Those scary bikers that you think are about to hate crime you, but in reality he's an amazing ally, and definetley kissed a few guys back in his prime

Jimmy Crystal - Homophobic, but the manipulative kind. Definetley manipulated Jerry big time

Jerry - Idk but he's fruity that last line where he said "I love you" to Mr. Crystal will not be ignored. Was raised in a broken household and doesn't know how to cope with feelings, met Mr. Crystal in school, fell in love, now he works for him,

Porsche Crystal - She's voiced by Halsey, what more information do you need? Learning to except herself after being raised in a very much mentally abusive household by her very much mentally and sometimes physically absusive father.

Ice Cream Guy - Bisexual, He/They/She (in order of prefrence). Cottagecore.

Lance - Y'know Ash's ex bf from the first movie? This is him. He's like a middle school boy. Is straight and lowkey homophobic but will slap his homies ass.

Becky - That one girl Lance was with. Bicurious, when asked she'll say straight but enjoys kissing girls in her free time. As one does.

Darius - I wanna say straight ally but his theatre obsession tells me straight passing bisexual white man who doesn't have to worry about being hatecrimed. Y'know. Those ones.

- i headcanon him to identify as a queer genderfluid person

-he thought he was straight until he saw Anakin on the mission in clone wars season 7 and his mind just went 'oh FUCK-'

- he experimented with bisexuality before deciding he'd stick with being queer

-he's now come to terms with being queer, and he doesn't really give it that much thought

-this dude is, in my opinion, aro/ace as HELL

-he probably asked tech where babies came from and he was never the same

-i mean he's still sex-positive, but he'd much rather be eating the space equivalent of garlic bread while wrapped in a blanket burrito

-when anyone flirts with him, he is CONFUSED, like 'no thank you, i want friends and arson'

-he's slightly sex repulsed, which used to confuse him because in his studies, it says intercourse is natural and sometimes pleasurable...

-which, to him at least, wasn't the case

-omega is a mtf trans lesbian

- she figured this out with the help with the only not-complete-arsehat kaminoan nala se when she told her she didn't feel like herself

- nala se was actually super supportive, but she wasn't a patch on the bad batch *it rhymed!*

-she still thinks she's got some time to finish discovering who she is, but for now, this is who she is

- the bad batch are so proud of her :')

My BlitzStrike Twins: Headcanons and Shenanigans~ [probably with a bit of my M&M kids thrown in just for fun]

So today I got a couple of fantastic asks about Blitz and Striker as parents, and since there seemed to be a pretty positive response to them--and because @helluva-simp is amazing and encouraged me to be brave enough to write this up--I thought I’d go ahead and make a full post of my headcanons for these two little devils. I really do love the hell out of them and hope you guys enjoy hearing about them too!! <3 <3

Twist’s and Ty’s full names are Twister and Typhoon but literally nobody calls them by their full names ever so they like to make the joke of “the ‘-er’ and the ‘-phoon’ are silent”

Ty is actually the older of the two [though not by much] but everyone thinks that Twist is because his name is always called first. It’s always “Twist and Ty” [or just collectively “Twist-Ty”] instead of “Ty and Twist”. Ty honestly doesn’t mind that much as far as following after his brother goes, just don’t make the mistake of trying to label him as the younger of the two. There are a lot of things Ty’s perfectly content to let Twist take the lead in, but having the title of “the older twin” is just going too far.

Twist and Ty are mirror twins, meaning that they’re mostly identical except for a few key things: 1. Twist is left handed and Ty is right handed, 2. they both have heterochromia but Twist’s eyes are Left: Red | Right: Green-Gold whereas Ty’s eyes are Left: Green-Gold | Right: Red, 3. Twist has a birthmark on his right hand and Ty has his birthmark on his left hand--and yes when you put the two marks together, they form a design not unlike the heart shaped one on Blitz’s forehead :)

Both of the twins are incredibly agile, but Twist is faster and Ty is more flexible

Striker affectionately calls Twist “Whirlwind” because of said fastness

Blitz affectionately calls Ty “Noodle” because of said flexibility

.....Though it should be noted that it’s not all fun and games because Twist is CONSTANTLY crashing into things or tripping over his own two feet from going too fast, and Ty is so flexible that he’s able to contort himself into positions that honestly make both of his parents throw up a little in their mouths with the split-second panic of “OH GOD OUR BABY WAS BORN WITHOUT BONES!!” DX DX They’re both usually just fine tho!! :D

As noted in an earlier post--but I want to say it here too--Twist’s first word was “Bang!” and Ty’s first word was “Fuck!” Twist was the first one to talk, though, and it made Striker and Blitz second guess the context of his first word by the time Ty said his. XD

Another thing that was noted in another post but I want to put it here too is that Twist and Ty have incredibly high self esteem and both Striker and Blitz wouldn’t have it any other way

Twist is dyslexic and so gets easily frustrated when he has to read a book, but he love love LOVES the hell out of stories.....and so Ty is almost constantly making up random stories to tell him

This actually also works out well in Ty’s favor because Ty’s attention span is about as short as Blitz’s patience and he has a lot more fun telling stories than he does sitting still long enough to read the ones that other people made up unless it’s a book about something he’s reeeeeeally interested in

It’s also made Ty hella good at bullshitting on the fly, which I think most of the older/adult members of his family wish he was a lot less convincing at

Twist knows how to lie and is a natural at acting, but his flair for the over-dramatics tends to give him a way a lot easier than his twin

They both have what I’m calling a “hierarchy of obedience” within their family which really translates into a range of “eh I can think about maybe listening to this person sometimes” to “oh SHIT I need to listen to this person 5 fucking minutes ago”. For Twist, his hierarchy of obedience is: Millie --> Blitz --> Striker --> Loona --> Moxxie. For Ty, his hierarchy of obedience is: Loona --> Millie --> Blitz --> Striker.....and Moxxie doesn’t even make the list for him because honestly I’m pretty sure Ty just naturally tunes him out most of the time and not even fully on purpose. As he puts it: “You just have one of those voices”. XD

Ty can sleep literally anywhere and on anything. I’m pretty sure there have been mornings where Blitz and Striker have to play the game of 'Where the hell is my kid??' because they THOUGHT that he went to sleep in his bed like their other child did but NOPE they go into their room in the morning to get them out of bed and are just like, “.....Twist where the hell is your brother??” and Twist just gives an innocent shrug and says, “I don’t know--probably on the roof or something.” u3u and goes out into the kitchen to make himself breakfast--and then two seconds later Blitz and Striker hear him calling out “NEVER MIND! HE’S IN THE OVEN!!” and that starts off a whole new kind of panic because they know damn well that Twist’s favorite thing to have for breakfast is cinnamon rolls XD

Twist’s laughter is infectious--this really cute witch-like cackling that just bubbles out of him in the most adorably genuine way when he’s that delighted about someting

Ty does this adorable thing where--when he sticks his tongue out at someone--he flicks it in a very snake-like fashion and even gives the tiniest of hisses in lieu of a raspberry when he does it

Ty also manages to twist himself into the most uncomfortable-looking positions when he sleeps but rest assured, he’s never been more comfy

Twist’s tail never stays still. It is constaintly flicking to and fro, back and forth, swishing and swirling like a cat’s tail, and he loves flicking it in front of people’s faces to get their attention

Twist in general doesn’t really stay still very often but the one time he did was when Ty broke his arm--and then he spent almost every moment of the day and night plastered to his side because he knew it was driving Ty crazy not being as mobile as he usually is while having to wear a cast

The twins really don’t ever go that far apart from each other. If you look and only see the one, you can rest assured that the other one is around somewhere nearby and it’s probably not a good sign for you if you can only see the one.

Ty is much more of a biter when it comes to self-defense and Twist always goes straight to using his claws

Twist is the outwardly more protective twin and is vicious with his words when defending his brother. He will force every last ounce of moisture out of your body from how hard he makes you cry.

Ty, on the other hand, will fuck you up hard physically if you try to hurt his twin--and Lucifer himself would not be able to save you if you actually do hurt his twin

As they get older, and their sexualities and gender develop and grow, Twist would discover that he’s a nonbinary he/they homosexual panromantic and Ty would discover that he’s a genderfluid he/she pansexual homoromantic

The above being said, both Twist and Ty wholeheartedly say “fuck you and your gender norms” from a very young age and well into their teenage and adult years, with Twist enjoying painting his nails and Ty carrying all of his stuff around in a purse--and they both have a preference for wearing high heeled shoes [Ty because he just likes being tall in general and Twist because he likes being specifically taller than his parents because it drives them crazy XD]

Twist and Ty’s best friend is “Missi” [Moxxie and Millie’s eldest daughter, Missile] and she’s honestly an absolute hero for putting up with as many of their shenanigans as she does

Whenever they go out on family outings, Twist is that kid who just NEVER wants to leave--and so Blitz usually, after spending ten minutes of trying to get him in the damn van and Striker even using his Dad Tone (TM) and that not working, will just be like, “Alright kiddo, I tried playing nice. You asked for this.” And he puts his fingers to his mouth and whistles with a, “Loona Sweetie? Fetch.” >3 And Loona gets the BIGGEST grin on her face and Twist gets the biggest “oh shit I’m so fucking screwed” look on his face and Ty--who’s honestly probably very awkwardly coiled up in Striker’s arms because after a long day of family fun he’s tired af and decided that he doesn’t want to use his limbs anymore--just kind of looks over at his twin and says, “I believe in you, but also maybe try to run faster than last time” u3u

I think that they would both love their Auntie Barbie a lot and she would have soooooooo much fun teaching them different circus tricks--especially how to yeet each other back and forth on the trapeze XD

I also think that their Auntie Barbie would really love just how close they are.....and probably inspire her to make up for lost time in her relationship with her own twin too

For some reason I can’t shake the thought of the twins being great at acapella and I have no idea why but I’m also ttly here for it XD

In school, I feel like Twist’s favorite class would be Art [he loves to paint and happily makes all kinds of messes with his “expressing creativity”] and Ty’s favorite class would be P.E./Gym [because he loves testing the limits of his physical body]

Family game nights are always fun in their household because usually what happens is Twist and Ty team up against Blitz and Striker, and while they’re in the middle of duking it out, Loona ends up getting a monopoly on every street and is just like, “Pay up fuckers.” u3u

Moxxie and Millie both love and hate babysitting for the twins because on the one hand, they love them to pieces and love seeing how well they get along with their three kids, but on the other hand.....the twins keep finding Millie’s strap on and putting it on their middle child [Mark]’s head and calling him a “cockicorn” XD

Ty’s favorite food is ramen noodles and Twist spent three weeks [and probably set their kitchen on fire at least twice] learning how to make them with JUST the right flavor profile that he knows his brother likes the best

While I think both of the twins know that they can talk to their dads about anything, I think that they still keep their most personal thoughts reserved only to themselves and each other

Twist’s favorite type of weaponry tends to be more of the flashy ‘sharp and pointy’ kind whereas Ty’s favorite type of weaponry tends to be more of the aggressive ‘point and shoot’ kind. However I honestly kind of think that in terms of what they’d use themselves in the field, Twist’s primary weapon of choice would be a whip [though he would definitely have some throwing knives and handheld revolvers in his back pocket too] and Ty’s primary weapon of choice is honestly poisons. Assume that everything this kid has that he throws at you--be it a knife or a bullet or even a fucking cannonball--is poisoned somehow.

They both definitely play wrestle like Blitz and Barbie did as kids.....and just like Blitz and Barbie, they also get their horns tangled together more than once and need to have someone come rescue them. There’s almost always a photo taken that gets posted to Voxtigram first tho. XD

There are plenty more headcanons where this came from but I feel like this is already waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too fucking long so I’m going to go ahead and stop here for tonight!! True Appearance: Salem has a straw yellow, seed-eater shaped beak with peach coloring on his face and neck. The hood of his head has a yellow green coloring which gradients to pine green metallic feathers, with his wings and tail tapering off to a bright ombre of blues and violets, at the tips. He has a wing span of 2.5 meters and stands at a height of 1.9 meters. His talons are a silvery white, and he uses them to groom most of his body. During preening season, he just goes to the med bay to have his fellow Vanniree medics peel off the wax off each one of his feathers so they can grow out properly. When he grew up in their commune, his family used to do this for him.

Backstory: Salem was born in the Ilmari commune amongst 10 other hatchlings and a polyamory of 5 Vanniree. The Ilmaris were a nomadic group of Garreem Vanniree that never stayed in one place for too long. They traveled around Marloken during the change of seasons, and took it upon themselves to take care of their young's education. They were adamant about curating their own educational plan for their hatchlings based on real-life experiences and online certificate courses. He learned everything from navigation, fine arts and politics, to basic life and diplomatic skills. They definitely stood out with their brightly colored metallic wings and unique fashion-sense wherever they went.

Of course, having a big family and five parents making most of the decisions didn’t always mean that everyone got along all the time. Salem became the official mediator of the family seeing as how he seemed to be objective about every argument. He was usually the tie-breaker when it came to making big decisions, and people naturally opened up to him about everything. Maybe it was because he didn’t talk much and often kept his opinions to himself, but he always had to be neutral about a lot of things.

He usually keeps to himself for the most part, and is very sweet, kind and caring. He’s slow to warm up to strangers, but when he does, he always has a retort for almost every situation and can be quite funny when he wants to be. He likes to protect the people he loves, but he has a hard time opening up about his feelings. He somehow got it in his head that he doesn’t want to bother anyone regarding his existential crises in general and has a bit of a martyr complex. He is definitely a lightweight and can’t hold his liquor. He becomes more impulsive and talkative when he has alcohol in his system.

When the time came for him and his siblings to “leave the nest”, in a manner of speaking, his siblings seemed to know exactly what they wanted to do. A few of them enrolled into art or music school, his sister went to study architecture, some of them continued to travel the world with their parents, and for the longest time Salem felt so lost and stuck. He traveled with his family for a few more years after he reached legal age and dabbled in art and navigation courses. He realized that those were the only two things he was really passionate about, and he was pretty decent at that too (that, and being the peacekeeper of the family).

He didn’t know what he was thinking when he met a cute guy at a bar one day, who told him about how he and his crew flew around the galaxy and did pirate things on a spaceship. Living with people who weren’t his family and traveling out of Marloken were completely out of his comfort zones–that, and getting drunk and sleeping this guy in said spaceship. It was honestly an exhilarating experience, and he impulsively decided to send in an application to the captain herself, the next day, when he heard that they were looking for a navigator.

Salem had never been outside of Marloken, and he didn’t think he’d get the job, but when his coms alerted him about the news, he immediately told his family. They helped him back up all his things and helped him get settled into the ship. This was the first time he hadn’t planned a drastic life changing event at least months in advance, and he almost had a panic attack during the first night on the ship. He was on a spaceship with a new job, flying with some guy he slept with on a whim because he didn’t think he’d ever see him again. He didn’t even know his name. This was… this was going to be fine, right?

Skills: He is innately skilled in navigation and planning routes as he grew up in a migratory commune that loved to travel around Marloken, especially to avoid the winter. He has a sharp eye for paintings and likes to dabble in watercolor and acrylics during his spare time. He also has great spatial awareness, even when he's at his full wing span, he's unlikely to bump into things and often seems to glide about as he walks. is a very good listener, and has the ability to look at most situations objectively. He has great diplomatic skills
