#but there's this wonderful thing called apologizing and explaining yourself and reminding people that you love + value them

one thing low self esteem will do to you is that it will convince you that no one could possibly value their relationship with you or even on a lighter level like. thinking people don't care about anything you say and that your words don't have impact on people. and what that leads to is you being completely unaware when you hurt other peoples feelings and being unable to consider how something you view as innocuous or funny could be hurtful and mean to someone else. like even if you have a hard time understanding that you have value as a person you have to understand that you have a lot of control of the way you effect other people and no one is intrinsically aware of what is going on in your head. you've got to care about other people and think about what's going on for them and yes empathy is hard but empathy can be learned. and sometimes u gotta figure it out and teach it to yourself.

The Edo period—the final era of feudal Japan. daimyos, samurais, and the common class, all with a purpose to help society. After her father lost his money and status when she was a child, y/n works as a maid in a teashop, following courtesans and cleaning up after their jobs. When the head of the Gojo clan comes in one night, she doesn’t expect to see him again, much less have him call on her.
Tumblr media
On a busy night, Madame Ino finds you. You recognize the pleased look on her face as the one she has when a favourable customer shows up.
“Y/N.” She looks down at you. “Clear the Daimyo’s favourite room.”
You raise your eyebrows in surprise. Daimyo Gojo? “Yes, ma’am.”
She left just as quickly, not giving you any more information.
You rushed to where she told you, your head filled with thoughts of your conversation with Miwa. Perhaps you’d get to see him—this elusive shikigami who seems to place a spell on every woman he glances upon. You wonder how you’ll react if you see him. You try to push that thought to the side for now, but you remind yourself that right now, you need to clean a room. Madame Ino doesn’t accept slow work from the maids. You respected Madame Ino, hardly ever thinking ill of her; she was harsh but kind enough to treat the staff with respect. The reputation of a high-class teashop can only be maintained if the staff is quiet and out of sight, as she often reminded you. As you gather your cleaning supplies and make your way to the designated room, you can't help but feel a sense of anticipation lingering in the air. Madame Ino's Teashop has always been a place of elegance and sophistication, attracting a clientele that appreciates the finer things in life. The thought of encountering someone as captivating as the man rumoured to have a spellbinding effect on women fills you with both excitement and trepidation.
Upon sliding the door open, you run into a wall, falling back onto your butt and hissing in pain. The wall in question looks down at you. Shades of blue capture your gaze, holding your body captive in awe. Your breath gets caught in your chest, unable to escape your parted lips as you stare up at his soft white locks.
He's beautiful. His piercing blue eyes seem to hold a universe of secrets, and his chiselled jawline accentuates his striking features. It's as if time stands still in that moment, and you can't help but feel a magnetic pull towards him.
His head tilts, eyebrows raise a fraction of a centimetre, and lips lift in the corners. It's so effortlessly casual that it feels oppressive. The haughty look he gives you as you're trapped on the ground, not holding out a hand to offer you up, makes him seem amused. You can't help but wonder what thoughts are running through his mind, hidden behind that enigmatic expression. His confident demeanour and lack of concern for your predicament only add to the air of mystery surrounding him.
"Funny." His voice drawls, deep and velvety, sending shivers down your spine. It's a voice that commands attention, filled with a hint of mischief that leaves you curious about the thoughts swirling in his mind. "People don't usually look at me like that unless they're planning to kill me."
You want to apologize, to say that no, you don't want to kill him; you were just caught off guard. You want to excuse yourself, completely embarrassed for walking in on him and then falling on your ass. You want to do so many things.
But all that comes out of your mouth is a squeak—akin to a mouse that's just been trapped by a cat.
His chest vibrates with silent laughter. And as he lowers his head slightly, smiling eyes not leaving yours, the only feeling in your stomach is one of prey, faced with a predator that wants to eat them. You desperately wish you could muster up the courage to speak, to explain that it was a genuine mistake and that you mean no harm. However, your voice remains trapped in your throat, leaving you feeling helpless and vulnerable under his gaze. The intensity of the moment hangs heavy in the air, making it clear that he holds all the power in this situation.
"Y/N!" Madame Ino's voice is shrill, and your wide eyes snap to her horrified look as she analyzes the situation.
"Ma'am!" Your speech finds you once again, and you scramble onto your knees, bowing deeply. "I am so sorry—"
"Leave!" She cuts you off, and there is an urgency in her voice that makes you run away immediately. You don't even bother to excuse yourself to the Madame or the Daimyo, preferring to be as far away as you can from the scene. Tears well up in your eyes as you flee, the weight of disappointment and shame weighing heavily on your shoulders. You can't help but wonder if this mistake will cost you your position in the teashop. It was a miracle the madame took you in anyway; you know that if she were to kick you out, you would never find a place as favourable as this one.
And for the rest of the evening, you aren't called to do anything anymore; instead, you sit in your room, biting anxiously at your fingers, awaiting Madame Ino's reprimand.
When the sun starts to rise, Miwa slides open the door with haste.
"Is it true?" She’s out of breath.
You can’t answer her; the only indication is the nervous tears that well up in your eyes, so she pats your back and tells you calming assurances that the Madame wouldn’t throw you out for something like that, and you two end up falling asleep beside each other.
When you wake up the next day, you don’t bother to relax, instead rushing to work, the anxiety of last night still eating at you.
That night, your footsteps are feather light; rooms seem to clean themselves as if by an apparition; not even Miwa can pin you down unless you are asleep beside her, curled up on the futon, and silently breathing. You feel the need to prove to Madame Ino that keeping you would not prove detrimental to her business. When she says you can stay, you almost burst into tears of joy. And as retribution for embarrassing the teashop, you now work yourself silly.
Yet you can't get the daimyo out of your head. He truly was ethereal. His presence was captivating, like a fleeting dream that lingered in your thoughts long after you woke. The way he carried himself with grace and authority left a lasting impression on you. It was as if his very essence was woven with a touch of otherworldliness, making it impossible to forget him. Truly, he must be a shikigami.
The more you think of that moment with him looking down on you, the more you start to feel like you can remember every little thing about it. His amused look in the dark of the moonlight, the perfume that crept around him, not too overpowering, and his nonchalant demeanour at the sight of a maid running into him.
"Y/N." The madame's voice pulls you from your reverie.
You turn on your heels, crouching to the floor in a bow and tilting your head down as you greet her. "Yes, Madame?"
But you don't hear her request. The uncharacteristic silence in the air is concerning enough for you to lift your eyes and witness, for the first time, the Madame in a state of anxiety. Her polished lips are littered with soft bite marks, and her gaze doesn't look at you but rather through you.
You open your mouth, about to ask what's the matter, she cuts you off.
"The Daimyo is calling for you." She utters.
Your heart drops. For what reason could he possibly wish to call on you? Except for the obvious reason that a woman is called for in a tea house. Your mind races, trying to come up with any other possible explanation for the Daimyo's summons. Perhaps he needs to have a room cleaned that he is not satisfied with. However, deep down, you cannot shake off the nagging feeling that it may indeed be related to the traditional role of women in a tea house.
Your mouth is too dry to respond with words. Madame Ino grabs your arms and hoists you up, the look in her eyes not getting any better as she once again bites her lip.
"There is no time to make you presentable." Her eyes survey your body, the sheer vision causing her brows to scrunch with worry.
Her sight locks with yours; in a moment, a hundred words are exchanged, and you know with absolute certainty the reason Lord Gojo has called for you. Your heart drops.
Madame Ino ushers you out of the room and along the corridor.
"When you get in there, rid yourself of your kimono." She tells you.
"But Madame," you plead, "I'm not a courtesan; I have no idea what to do."
"I know, child." Her eyes meet yours. "But you do not disobey the Daimyo."
As you make your way through the maze-like hallways, she gives you instructions in a hushed whisper. However, as you proceed, the erratic beating of your own heart begins to drown out your hearing. Only when you are stopped outside the room does your mind come back to you, but the Madame is already out of sight. Staring at the door, the weight of reality comes crashing down on your shoulders. You take a deep breath, trying to steady your nerves. The thought of disobeying the Daimyo fills you with fear and uncertainty. With a trembling hand, you reach out and call out a small "excuse me" before sliding open the door.
With crossed legs and his head in his hand, he sits on the mat in the middle of the room. Your mind doesn't comprehend the fact that he isn't on the bed, only taking note of the piercing stare he has as he nods his head for you to step inside.
You quickly obey, shutting the door behind you before you stare dumbly at him. His gaze is fixed on you—the same predatory look that takes you back to your last meeting. The silence in the room is suffocating, making your heart race even faster. You struggle to find the right words to say, feeling cornered.
But then the Madame's words come rushing back to you, and your shaking hands reach for the collar of your kimono, pulling it down to show the slope of your shoulders. Lord Gojo's eyebrows raise slightly, but no other change in his expression sends doubt into your mind about whether or not he likes what he's seeing. With your shoulders exposed, the fabric gets caught, and the obi around your waist is too tight to allow the kimono to slip off your body. You don't know whether to mentally thank or curse Miwa for tying it so tight. With a huff, your fingers shakily move to your back in an attempt to free the obi, your eyes flitting to the Daimyo's to see a look of intrigue on his face.
Just as you manage to grasp what you need, a voice just outside the room calls, "I'm coming in."
The door opens too quickly for you to do anything. In your compromising attire, you come face-to-face with a tall man. The first thing you notice is the sheathed sword at his waist, indicative of a samurai, and with your head craning up, you find his look of horror planted on you.
With absolutely no grace, you squeal, nearly tripping over yourself as you back away and pull your kimono back up, the samurai in front of you holding up his hand to cover you from his sight as he sends a pointed glare towards the Daimyo.
"What is she doing?" He hisses, and your wide eyes snap to Lord Gojo.
With an amused smile on his face and a slight bounce in his shoulders, the Lord laughs.
"I don't know, to be honest." He says. "Without a word, she started undressing. You'd think I was paying her."
"What?" You squeak out, gaining the attention of both men. "You—you didn't call me here to..."
But you don't finish your question because the Daimyo throws his head back and lets out a deep and bellowing laugh. Though the sound was melodic, you couldn't help but feel immense heat in your face at the situation.
As the Daimyo's laughter subsides, he looks at you with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Oh, my dear," he says, his voice filled with amusement. "I called you here to discuss something of interest to myself and my friend, not for any other reason."
Relief washes over you as you realize your assumption was completely off-base. But you can't help but be curious about what the Daimyo and his samurai could possibly need from a maid like yourself.

my 1k event!

Alma's hand is warm, almost too warm against yours. His fingers are intertwined with yours, scratchy and calloused. The summer heat has gotten to the both of you, and you hope that the sweat collecting in your palm doesn't bother him as he drags you around the park.
It's late, and the sun went down a few hours ago, but the heat of it still lingers on your skin. Your feet are aching and you think if you walk around for any longer, your legs will crumple underneath you like paper. But Alma's so—warm, and kind, and he looks back at you with this stupid beaming smile as he leads you around all the corny games and rides. Your stomach is still swirling from the last rollercoaster you went on, and your pockets are very light from the sheer volume of money you’ve lost to ball-toss games.
"There's— oh! They're selling takoyaki over there," he points out, attention moving rapidly from you to the food stands to the crowds of people around you. "You know, we tried making takoyaki ourselves once, at the agency with everyone, and it was pretty good! I wish you were there for that."
Wish. He wishes you were there. There's a stirring in your chest at the thought of being wanted by a friend.
Unfortunately, the sight of the long, winding line in front of the takoyaki stand mixed with the darkening sky reminds you that you do have responsibilities. Like the math homework due tomorrow that you've neglected for the whole week, and the dreadful bus that you have to catch at seven tomorrow in order to even make it to school on time.
"Alma," you call for him, and he whips his head back to look at you. His smile falters. Your expression must give you away, then—the guilt, the frustration, the ache.
"I have school tomorrow," you explain with nothing short of dismay in your voice, "It's— it's pretty late right now. I have to go. I'm so sorry, it was really fun, seriously—"
"Hey!" he cuts in, already grinning again and pulling you close to him with the hand still wrapped in yours. "It’s seriously fine! I did keep you out pretty late, huh. I didn't even notice."
And he looks around—at the people still walking and wandering and having fun, and your heart sinks. You're a buzzkill, and you know that, but you're already failing a class and you can't risk missing any more days of school. Alma—you don't think he really gets it, and that makes it worse. In the grand scheme of things, you don't know too much about Alma—how he works—but you know that he doesn't go to school the way that you do. Every time you've hung out on a weekday, it's been cut short by a call from home or your own consciousness screaming at you to get back and do your work before you flunk out.
"I really am sorry," your hand squeezes around him, breath stuttering in anticipation as you mentally beg him to squeeze back, just to signal that he's not so upset about this. "I would— I would stay out for longer, but… Alma, really. I’m sorry.”
“You apologize way too much,” he says, earnest and honest and still smiling the way he always does at you, with something warm between his lips. “Hey, um, can we go on one last ride? I’ll pay for your ticket. The— the ferris wheel?”
He’s so stupid, and it’s corny and cheesy and ridiculous, but you see the heat of hope on the apples of his cheeks and his eyes dart around from yours to the flickering lights behind you. Your lungs squeeze, and so does your hand around his. You’re a weak person, too weak against Alma and the fond feeling in your chest. You relent easily.
“Okay,” you agree, lips curling in giddiness and wonder. Alma laughs a little bit, breathy and relieved, and promises to take you home after this one last ride, and you can’t find it in yourself to feel guilty when you get home late, math homework untouched, responsibilities replaced by the fluttering in your stomach.

Oh excellent, we’re talking about darlings we’ve fallen deeply in love with. Anyway, please please please Liebling give me a chance I’ll work at the shop and clean and do whatever you need please please please—
You want Liebling??? Huh??? For real???
Ok this got a little long and sweet sorry about that. Liebling can't be flirty like Goose and Threat, she's gotta be a freak. You gotta woo her.
You answer the help wanted ad more because the pay is good, and the owner is cute, than because you have any real interest in flower arranging. You have enough retail experience that you're not surprised when you get an interview. You are surprised by the strange series of questions the woman interviewing you asks.
Have you ever lost time during a full moon? Do you find yourself uneasy around rivers? When's the last time you walked through the forest? Do you ever see things you can't explain to other people? Has anyone ever given you a gift that wasn't a gift?
By the end of it you have more questions than you've ever had for an interviewer, and she takes a long time staring at you. Not that you mind, like you said she's cute and having her stare at you is a great opportunity for you to stare back.
"Alright," she finally relents, "you can start Monday." You've never been hired straight out of an interview before. She stops you before you can thank her, you're reminded people in this city are weird about what you consider normal pleasantries.
There are a lot of weird rules to this job, but the owner is kind. You'd say nice, but honestly she's prickly and blunt in a way you want to call mean, but can't. Somehow the word doesn't fit right. Guarded, maybe. Terribly kind though.
"What's this?" You ask, turning over a new box of tea as she sets the electric kettle one morning.
"Strawberry tea," she tells you, "you said you liked it, and I saw it at the store, so-" she waves a hand, dismissing her own kindness.
"Oh, thanks," you tug the top open to pull a bag free for yourself.
"Don't mention it," she grumbles. It makes you smile to know she was thinking about you, that she remembered something you'd mentioned in passing.
She does that all the time, remembers things. You mention you're planning something with friends after work and she lets you go early. You say you want to try something from the new bakery that opened and the next day there are extra sweets in the back. It's strange you never see her extending the same kindness to anyone else, but with you it's like she can't be kind enough. Still prickly though.
You can't ask her about it, and she hardly lets you thank her. If you mention she's being nice she seems to go out of her way to be difficult the rest of the day. You've noticed she doesn't smile at the customers, or make jokes. She hardly seems to enjoy her work except the rare occasions you've seen her working on an arrangement. The way she smiles at a bundle of camellias makes your heart skip a beat, it's so painfully soft you feel like you've intruded on a private moment. You wish she'd smile at you like that.
The most you get are tight apologetic smiles. She presses a heavy ring into your hand after work one night --one of hers-- with a slip of paper through the middle that just reads "be safe." She looks sorry when you laugh and slip it on your finger, but somehow you do feel safer walking home. She pulls you away from a customer that's making your head spin, and sets you in the back with a tight smile and a short apology.
All that kindness compounds. Every huff when you tell a bad joke, every small compliment, every gift, every thing she remembers, it all piles and piles until you can't help but wonder if she feels something for you. It's care, she cares for you in a thousand small ways. You can't even point all of them out, and she'd hate it if you did. But there's this... thing about her that makes you want to keep quiet about it. That makes you think mentioning it will make it stop somehow.
You work with her for months. Months of your heart fluttering when she brushes your hand. Months of being cared for by someone that seems to think they have a heart made of ice. Months of being in love with this woman who is desperately trying to convince the world that she doesn't need that sort of thing.
When she rings you on your phone one morning you pick up before it can buzz twice. You know she prefers texting, so it must be important. And you want to hear her voice. You always want to hear her voice.
"Hey, don't worry about coming in today, I'm taking the day off." She tells you over the phone. You switch your phone to your other ear to get a better grip on the bag you'd been packing.
"No problem, everything alright?" You ask, switching your work lunch from the bag back to the fridge.
"Yeah, yeah, um," She hesitates and you pause, "it's my birthday, so..." She trails off, like she doesn't want to talk about it. You chew your lip, debating whether or not to wish her a happy one when she sounds like that.
"Ok," You tell her with faux brightness, you'd sort of been hoping to see her today. It finally feels like you've worked up enough courage to tell her, well to tell her something.
"I'll see you tomorrow," She finishes, hanging up before you can say good-bye.
Ok, you think maybe this is where your friends would call you obsessed, or insane. You really can't leave well enough alone, and it really won't take you long. It's maybe 15 minutes to her favorite bakery, another 10 to her flat, that leaves you at least a half hour to panic over your hasty decision making. With any luck she won't think you're a stalker that happened to check the return address on some mail she was sending out.
You spend a good ten minutes on her doorstep debating if this was the worst idea of your life before knocking. When she finally yanks the door open it's sort of comforting the way her annoyance melts to confusion on seeing you. Your eyes dart over her, taking in the haphazardly buttoned flannel and bunny slippers, you don't think you've ever seen her in anything but work clothes. Ah dammit, how are you supposed to start this?
She leans against the door frame and crosses her arms over her chest. "I thought I told you to take the day off." She reminds you. As if you showed up at the store and not her house. You hold up the patisserie box. She squints at it, "What's that?"
"Cake."
"Cake." She parrots, like she hadn't heard you right.
"It's the one with raspberry, I know that's your favorite," You tell her quickly, "figured you should have cake on your birthday, or whatever. This is-" You cut yourself off before you start digging your hole too deep, and because she's looking at you with that impossible softness. Her lips ever so slightly curved and her eyes earnest.
"Thank you," She replies quietly. Something warm and heavy settles in your chest. You don't think you've ever heard her say that before.
"Any time," You breathe, and you mean it. If she looks at you like that, you'd do anything for her.

Notes: This is concept is taken from herethereb3dragons on AO3 following a similar plot concept but not the same. Yes this is a omegaverse story I have no apologizes I wanna feed my brain worms.(Will be switching between first and second person in this writing) Summary: Lost your job after finding out your boss was committing federal crimes and the local economy crashes? Omega Re-housing services suddenly deciding to tighten their requirements? Sick of living in a shitty apartment alone everyday with no one to come home too? No problem! Just become a Contacted Companion to a military group overseas and never look back, full proof planning right?! A/N: This is a more intro chapter idk how to explain it but you'll get it when you start reading
WC: 2.4k
I could’ve been a nurse if I wanted too, or maybe I would have opened a cafe. Probably not, I hate blood, well I don't hate it. I just don't want to be around it everyday, I don't mind a cut or a ugly scab but then again that's always on my body. Owning my own business would stress me out, I can barely handle being 3 days behind on work, imagine not making enough to keep the shop open for another month I’d go into shock.
On the other hand I’d probably not be in the position I'm in now If I had my own business or hell a medical degree. To be fair I couldn't predict this, I couldn't predict any of this no one could and if they did there’d be hell to pay from every single person in that fat shiny building downtown. Everything happened so fast, the market value crash, our manager getting arrested for embezzlement, the company housing getting repossessed, all our assets getting seized and sold. I wish I could lie and say it was a blur but it wasn’t, call it a trauma response but I remember every detail of that day from the moment the building shut down to signing away my dignity.
***************************************************************
Everything hurts, your back, your eyes and your legs. Oh yeah and you're sweating, gross right? Isn't it wonderful that they stuck the little archivist all the way in the back of the office in her own little office where she can do all her “important” work. All the way where no one can smell or see where they’re hiding all the omega employees, what a coincidence.
Yeah it's mid september and it's chilly outside but you’re boiling in here now and  the fabric of your jumper is sticking to you and everyone in here can smell you now. At this point all you wanted to do was run back to your office, peel off your jumper and wipe away all your sweat while drowning yourself in scent masker. Honestly it's humiliating, getting burnt up in your tiny room then being forced by your superior to trolly off all the files to the accounting department upstairs.
You weren't in any danger of course most people were civilized and wouldnt attack you on sight or in this case on the whiff of unmarked omega scent. It still worried you, but no one could touch you here, not while you were an employee, not while you were safe under the watching eye of the corporate security cameras watching everyones every move.
Doesn’t that make you feel a little safer? Always being watched? Yeah they could fire you for the littlest thing but you could be safe. The camera doesn't discriminate, the camera can't lie, the camera shows what happens and doesn't care if you’re Alpha or Omega. That reminder makes you feel a little safer when you're pushing your little cart into the elevator pushing the button for the 26th floor. It's not as hot in here as it was downstairs.
You lean back a little on the bar between you and the mirror while your eyes stay trained on the little black screen of red letters rolling up as the elevator dragged you upstairs. Do you ever do that thing where you stare at the mirror like your face is gonna change the longer you look at it? You do now.
Just standing in front of it poking at yourself, making sure there's no crust in your eyes, sometimes bearing your teeth to check that you don't have anything stuck in them. If you know what was going to happen you might have spent longer staring at yourself, capturing the moment maybe.
You look tired, you are tired. Hollow eyes stared back at you in the mirror forcing you to look at how empty you were from the inside out. It was always day in day out move on. You didn't have time to think about mating, joining a pack hell even having kids. Wake up. Work. Go home. Trash TV. Sleep.
You try smiling and letting that go seeing if it would change anything. It didn't. Mirrors were more indifferent to you. Check if you’re clean and move on with your day not thinking too much about it. Elevators forced you to look at yourself they always do. There's no one else in here but you, the mirror and those 2 doors.
The little hum of mediocre elevator music churning out whatever pop tune combination the media had coined dead would be your last unknown moment of peace.
When those elevator doors opened and you pushed out your little cart all you felt was the sudden slam of a body knocking your poor cart away. That alone ripped you out of your tired little haze forcing you to look around the room and see what was actually happening.
The accounting department of U&G Food Supplising Inc.? In shambles
The air of the floor felt thick, suffocating. Too many people were up out of their chairs, people were paired off to the side staring into their papers like life was drained out of them. Pale faces, and sweaty hands clambering around wire phones tuned out voices shouting into their speakers. The stress off of them was enough to start scaring you know.
It was everywhere, one of the brokers was seated back in his chair holding papers in both hands with his phone pressed onto his ear yelling incomprehensible jargon into it while his eyes dizzied out on the papers he was holding. Others looked like they already lost hope standing in the middle with empty blank expressions that told you enough, they were probably savoring the last few moments of normalcy.
A heavy buzz cut the air and that's when everything stopped. The market just closed, everything was so quiet. People stopped talking, staring at the big screen hooked up on the wall where a chart was displayed with its thick red line descending into the negatives.
Papers were in the air, Phones were rattling off like crazy, Desks were flipped over and files covered the floor. Out of panic you might have started slamming the button on the elevator faster but you got the other side of the coin and was stumped in shock and maybe a little anger.
All you wanted was a quiet boring life, is that so much to ask for? You got your degree in the most boring field possible, you got a job at the most mundane company that would hire you, you got a quiet little apartment tucked in the dreary part of town where nothing happens and you thought you finally won. Small victories you thought, I wont get forced to mate with anyone here, I can pass as a beta here, I can, I can, I can't.
In hindsight you should've seen it coming, Omega Rehousing Authorities were getting stricter, The company was losing money and you were ignoring all of it. Until now where you were trapped in the corner of the accounting department where everyone was screaming and panicking when all you were trying to do was bundle up all your files and run back to your stuffy little room.
Staying on the ground was safer then standing up I think, you can just stay down here on your knees trying to gather all the papers you can so you can slam on the elevator as hard as possible to get you back to safety. Yeah! Just keep grabbing papers, don't think about the Alpha across the room practically tearing out that betas throat, or those 2 slightly to your right scruffing at each other to grab as much cash as possible. You won't get in trouble right? You're just an archivist delivering papers, you don't know what's happening but that's a good thing. You don't know what's happening and it's bad because now you're holding all your papers to your chest and you don't have any scent masker practically leaking your scent everywhere while there's so much yelling.
Keep ignoring it you’ll be alright, there's police here but they're not here for you, keep ignoring it. Yes the screaming and yelling is getting louder while there are people getting arrested but you're still under your illusion of safety so keep ignoring it. There's nothing wrong, get your papers and leave there's nothing wrong you can't hear anything no one's calling your name just stand up and leave.
But there is someone calling your name, your full name.  With your Identification number.
Pulling your head up felt like dragging it out of water and meeting the eyes of 3 ORA agents in crispy black suits and sunglasses did not help with your anxiety when you were stuck down on the floor.
“We’re with the Omega Re-Housing Authority, we’d like to speak with you”
_____________
That's when everything started moving faster and phasing out until I realized I was in a new room. The room felt sterile, steel table, plain gray walls, the uncomfortable plastic chair I was stuck in. My heart was rattling inside my chest and I kept breathing in for more air but every breath felt stale and dry no matter how many times I sipped at the little plastic cup they gave me.
Why was I here? What did I do? I didn't know what was going on, I had all my paperwork, I had a job and a house they can't take me away can they?
That creaky door opening and shutting dragged my attention away to the ORA agent in front of me. They look less threatening without the glasses, it doesn't help much but seeing their eyes makes them look more human. He looked like he was pitying me and that just made the bile in me churn, I felt like I was in trouble.
He took his seat right in front of me, placing down a plain manilla folder on the cold steel table before he folded and placed his hands on top. God, when he looked at me I thought I was gonna be sick. I bet he could feel the fear weeping out of me, I didn't have anything on me. I didn't feel safe without my scent masker or some sort of suppressant. I didn't make it this far passing as a Beta without them, now I felt like I was waving a white flag screaming Omega.
All the anxiety from years of drifting through life poured through you since you got your class as omega. You wanted to hide in a thousand layers never to be seen again. Where no one could see, touch or hear you. An isolation but a safe comfort like how you made your home. The one you will shortly no longer be able to afford.
You tried making friends you really did, you had friends but then something inside you would rear its ugly head out and whisper for you too leave them alone how much you're bothering them can't you see?
So you would let it slip through the cracks. One missed plan turns to another and suddenly you spend every afternoon curled up on your beat couch watching drag reruns on cable tv in your dingy apartment thinking this is better than being out and feeling your stress turn your guts around.
Now look at you! Sitting in a ORA “interview room” probably about to be shipped out to some random alpha in the middle of nowhere shucking corn for the rest of your life popping out babies you can't afford. The worst part is no one would notice!
“You’re not in trouble Ma’am”
‘Yeah thanks for that buddy.’ I wish I could say that but I just kept staring at him, more watching his lips move than hearing him speak. I caught some words here and there of “Bankruptcy” and “Liquidation”. By the end of it from what I can tell is Im unemployed and soon to be homeless. I could move in with my mom, or maybe my sister then ORA couldn't relocate me at least, they won't have the chance to.
The last time I sent my papers my mom passed as the register on my guardian substitute. I'm not sure if they’ll take it again, Beta guardians work but If regulations keep changing they might start demanding she terminate her rights and they assign me to an Alpha.
How sick is that? I spend my whole life fighting tooth and nail acting like nothing scares me, trying to prove I can fend for myself and don't need a pack. I did everything by the book and I still got stuck in the chair everyone told me I’d never end up in.
I should be angry, I should be boiling and here I am shaking like a leaf in this chair playing in the pliant and meek omega stereotype, fantastic.
Sliding the folder over to me on the table the ORA agent opened up the folder, sliding his hands over to his pocket to pull out a fountain pen. He cleared his throat almost condescendingly as he uncapped his pen, tapping it onto the paper in the folder.
Is it weird I forgot he was there? Everything started meshing together when I heard him say I wasn't in trouble. I mean I didn't completely forget, his scent was basically choking me forcing his presence to be made aware. I'm listening now but I wish I could roll over and sink into the floor.
“ORA would like to offer you an employment opportunity, aboard.”

When you give him flowers.
(Ajax, Xiao, Jun Li)
Ajax
Since your first meeting, Ajax likes to give you at least a fraction of his attention, unless of course he was working. When he couldn't meet in person, you'd get a mountain of gifts as a sign of apology. His assistants could always find you or deliver packages directly to your house. You felt remorse because you couldn't really buy him anything yourself. The guy just waved it off. "Your presence is quite enough for me. Rather than spending your savings on something, you can give your love in a different way. "He smiled playfully when your face was flushed. But today was your anniversary. It's a special day, so you decided to prepare something special.
Ajax spent the whole day sorting out documents in his office. When you knocked and came in, he looked up from the paper in surprise. - " T/I? What are you doing here?"
- I just decided to check on you - A smile appeared on your face, but you didn't look at your boyfriend. He noticed that and that your hands were hiding something behind your back.
- I see you're not empty-handed. What's it?
There's a blush on your face. - well, today is a special day and you say that you don't need gifts. So here it is.
A small bouquet of icing lilies lay on Ajax's table. The guy stared at him, as if it was the first time he had ever seen flowers. - Is this for me?
- Of course. I had to wait until the night to rip them off. I even had to take a consultation with Madame Ping, as his petals can hide during the day.
- so much effort for me? I'm flattered.
You snorted back. "this proves once again that money can't buy good memories. Their petals reminded me of your eyes....So here it is...Have fun.
You quickly ran out of the office, leaving the guy in a complete daze. His eyes could scare a lot of people. They didn't have the sparkle and life like yours, but apparently you didn't care at all.
Ajax asked the assistant to put the flowers in a vase. They reminded me that today's work should be finished early. You will also receive a wonderful gift when he returns home...
Xiao
Your always frowning and distant boy had no idea about love at all. It was only after your help that he began to understand something. Although Xiao saw couples many times while walking. They often gave each other gifts. You explained that any gift can have a much greater meaning behind it. Then Xiao decided to give you any trinket he saw during his travels. Sometimes he would put things that were especially important for memory in your room, as you do.
One day you found your boyfriend on the terrace, completely lost in thought. He turned around when he saw you. There was displeasure on his face.
"You're late, even though you promised to be back before dusk."
- I'm sorry. In my defense, I don't leave the inn that often. It's just that my friends and I stayed a little too long....
- today you stayed a little late, and tomorrow you won't come back at all. Do you even realize how dangerous it is to move at night? At least then you called me so that I could come for you.
- but you could be busy.
- your safety is more important.
You awkwardly scratched the back of your head. It wasn't often that Xiao scolded you. He could only keep an eye on you in silence. If anything, just take it to a safe place. But today, he didn't seem to be in the mood at all. So there was only one thing left.
When you left the terrace without saying a word. Yaxa already thought that his words might have hurt you. What if you decide to leave him? But your figure came back with almond tofu in one hand and glass bells in the other. Your trademark smile was shining on your face.
- I'm sorry for my terrible behavior. I didn't want to give you anything to worry about.
When your head tilted in apology, holding out everything you brought in your hands. A blush appeared on Xiao's face. He pulled himself together with a sigh, accepting your gifts.
- OK. If you want, we can have dinner together, but I don't insist....
You were glad to hear his calm tone. Of course, I did not refuse his offer. So you had dinner with almond tofu, telling everyone about your day. A vase with bells stood in the middle of the table, exuding its blissful fragrance.
June Lee
Your husband was exhausted from the daily routine at the Funeral Home. Hu Tao rewarded him with a lot of work, to the point that he almost spent the night outside the house. When the man returned home. My first thought was bed. You stared at him indignantly when Jun Lee didn't even say hello. There were only short answers to your questions. "I'm fine. Give me some rest and I'll get back to normal." - You decided not to torture him anymore. He seems to have passed out right away.
Jun Lee woke up only when the first rays of the sun broke through the darkness of the night. There was already a hot breakfast on the table with his favorite tea, the aroma of which filled the whole house. He left the room when he didn't see you on your side of the bed.
Of the two of you, your husband was always the first to wake up, since you still liked to huddle in a warm bed. You didn't like the morning, so seeing you up early in the morning was considered a miracle.
- Do you have any business? - Jun Lee sat down at the table a little resentful of your wakefulness.
- What makes you think that?
He looked out the window, thinking it was already day outside. "But it's only morning. You hate waking up so early. "
You just smiled at him. "Is it strange to accompany your husband to work? You're getting even more tired. How else can I cheer you up?"
Jun Lee was pleasantly surprised. Although you showed care, but in such difficult days your support filled his heart with fuel. We can assume that further work will not torment him so much. He was about to take a sip of fragrant tea when his eyes noticed a vase filled with a bouquet of Qingxin flower.
- where did you get these flowers?
You stared at him in surprise, but when you turned around, you realized what he was talking about. "Oh, those flowers? Just like that. Walked. So I typed it."
He choked on your words. You were already next to the rag, wiping the remnants of tea from it and the surface of the table.
- do you know where they grow? He cleared his throat.
- of course. On top of the rocks.
Jun Lee rubbed the bridge of his nose. "don't tell me you've been risking your life climbing rocks yourself." What have you been doing all the time I've been away?
- Can you blame me? You don't come home at all, but what should I do? You just reminded me recently in your stories about the Qingxin flower. I was naturally curious to see them in person. The only problem is their location...
- t/I!
You laughed. Jun Lee was often as calm as a boa constrictor, but it seems that the stress at work has slightly shaken his nervous system. Your games were already getting on his nerves. Now fear has settled in my heart. Perhaps, while the man is not at home, his wife is doing dangerous things. Your life is already short...
- Come on. I bought them from a merchant. He's just collecting various rare curiosities. I just returned from my hike yesterday. He promised me these flowers a long time ago. Consider it my gift. You can take them to work. If anything happens, they will calm you down.
The man breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, then. Thanks And please, if you want to take a walk in an unfamiliar place or get some rare thing. Wait for me. I can take the day off if you need it so badly, but without me, not a step from Li Yuey.
You nodded. Disobeying him is more expensive for yourself.
You had a wonderful breakfast. Your husband, satisfied with his courtship, is going to go to work. He left a light kiss on your lips when he left the house. Thoughts raced through my head on the way. We should still assign Xiao to watch over you. You never know..

“Destiny? What do you mean?”
“This is a safe haven.” Suho explained. “I’ll show you, but you all have to be calm.”
“You’re not exactly making me feel any better here.” Taeyong commented.
“Just follow me.”
Others were hesitant to follow, but they did so. Lay took your hand and led you along with the group. You looked around, realizing this was some kind of ship, and that brought up so many more questions. At least now it made sense what Suho had said earlier, the ship’s name was Destiny. You came to some steps, although Suho told everyone to give him a moment and went up.
“Captain!”
From below you heard some happy cheers, followed by running. Soon enough you saw someone with Suho and then they noticed you.
“Wow… that’s a lot of stowaways.”
“It’s a long story, but the new faces won’t be staying. They just needed a safe place to stop, hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all. You wouldn’t bring enemies on my ship. Welcome aboard everyone.”
You went up onto the main deck, taking in your surroundings again and being amazed. You weren’t out on the ocean where you would find such a ship, but sailing through the sky. You ran over to the edge to look overboard.
“This is amazing.”
“Careful now, don’t want to lose anyone.”
Xiumin came over and pulled you back, reminding you to behave yourself. You apologized and promised to stay close. You were brought over back to the crowd and over to the gentleman you had seen talking with Suho before.
“We should probably introduce you. Y/n, this is the captain of the ship.”
“It’s nice to meet you.”
“The pleasure is all mine.” The gentleman bowed. “I’m Hongjoong, captain of the Ateez crew, and this is our lovely ship Destiny.”
“It’s wonderful.”
You got to meet the rest of the crew as well and struck up a conversation as the leaders stepped away to talk among themselves.
“I’m Taeyong, leader of NCT. Thanks for allowing us to remain on your ship.”
“A friend of Suho’s is a friend of mine.”
“I want to ask though… how did you meet Suho?”
“He helped us long ago to save our world, and thanks to them we now roam free, always ready to help others. Destiny is our safe place, and for you as well. You’re always welcomed on my ship.”
“Thank you for your hospitality. I hope we cross paths again under better circumstances.”
“I’m sure we will.”
“Do you think you and your people are good to travel?” Suho asked. “Or do you need to rest. I’m sure-”
“No, no, we’re alright.” Taeyong assured. “We should return home and fully rest.”
“Okay then.”
You all gathered to see the Neos off, and you hoped to see them again some time in the future. With the third party gone there was a shift in the atmosphere.
“So what really brought you by?” Hongjoong asked. “You are not one to show up unannounced.”
“I’m here to collect on the favor we’ve asked of you.”
“Ah, I see.”
“Wait.” You asked. “What favor?”
You didn’t answer, but a look was exchanged between Hongjoong and Wooyoung. The other boy went off to the captain’s quarters and returned with an hourglass moments later.
“What is that? It looks so cool.”
“It’s called the Cromer.” Wooyoung explained, handing it over to you. “We don’t use it as much anymore, but it serves another purpose now.”
“What do you mean?”
“You’ll see.”
You only pondered on that for a moment before the Cromer floated up into the air and away from you. DO had stepped away from the group, and the Cromer flew over to him. In the blink of an eye the hourglass had shattered, but all the pieces remained in the air. All the glass was separated and you could tell DO was focused on it. One moment there was glass and then it turned to sand. You had no idea what was going on, let alone as Kai stepped forward and allowed the sand to pour down onto his hand.
“What are you doing…” You mumbled.
“Remembering something long forgotten.”
“Why are you going there?” Hongjoong asked.
“We can’t keep running.” Suho stated. “We have to face our enemies head on.”
“What does that mean?” You questioned.
“You’ll find out soon enough.” Chen assured. “Promise.”
“Kai?” Suho said.
“I got it.”
You didn’t know what that meant, but you watched as DO put the Cromer back together as if nothing had ever happened. It returned to your hands and you looked it over in awe.
“You could stay a while.” Hongjoong suggested. “Get some rest and prepare.”
“Can’t keep pushing things off.” Lay said. “But thank you.”
“If you guys need any help, you know where to find us.”
It was sad to be saying goodbye to new friends so soon, but you went wherever EXO went without hesitation. You hoped to see them again and get to know them more when the time comes. You gave the Cromer back to Yeosang, and they all wished you well. Sehun and Chanyeol took your hands, and you all said one last goodbye before you closed your eyes, ready for the next adventure. The quiet and calm of the open sky faded into the sounds of nature, and you opened your eyes to find yourself surrounded by trees.
“Woah… where are we…”
“Some place we never thought we’d return to.” Baekhyun mumbled. “Come on, we have some place to go.”
“You guys really need to stop being so cryptic.”
“I know, sorry. We’re still processing everything too.”
You followed the boys through the words, quite intrigued by the fact they knew exactly where they were going. After a while you came to this cabin. It seemed abandoned with nature having taken it back, but it all retreated as Lay waved his hand. You went with the boys inside, seeing all the dust that’s been collecting. Sehun was quick to blow that all away, but a silent stillness remained.
“So… what is this place?”
“An old home.” Xiumin said.
“Are we staying?”
“For the foreseeable future, yes.”
“Then we should start cleaning up.”
Your bright spirit was a bit of a contrast with the rest of the atmosphere, but the others agreed with you. The others helped you clean up, making this place feel more like a home. While cleaning you found an interesting picture. It was a group photo of the boys with a handful of unfamiliar faces. There was something strange about this whole place you couldn’t quite put your finger on, and this picture added to that uneasiness. Before you could dwell on it more you heard Lay calling out to you, and you made your way to the back of the cabin, finding a greenhouse. You stepped into a garden you had never seen before, amazed by its beauty.
“Wow…”
“This is an old garden of mine, and you can see the plants have taken very good care of each other.”
“They must have missed you.”
“I missed them too.”
“What happened here? I saw a picture of you and some other people. Was this home before you met me?”
“For a long time it was, but we had to flee.”
“So why are you back now?”
“Cause we need to fix things.”
“Fix things?” You thought for a moment. “Is RF the reason you left this world?”
“Yes. This place was home, and then we wound up being held captive. When we escaped, we left this world in their hands. We have to correct that mistake.”
“That’s dangerous… facing RF head on… especially if the two of you have history here.” “I know, but it has to be done. For starters we need to check in with old friends.”
“Old friends?”
“You can meet them later.” Kai said as he entered the garden. “We have to find them first.”
“And how are you gonna do that?”
“A lot of remembering.”
Kai stepped forward, going into the garden and sitting himself down. Some vines crept over, wrapping around his arms and waist. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, making you wonder what he was doing. You had never seen Kai in the garden like this before.
“Are you picking anything up?”
“I can sense them… but it’s faint…”
“It’s been years at this point. Will that be enough or should I look for them?”
“No. This should be enough.”
After a while longer Kai opened his eyes, the vines moving away and releasing him. He gave you a big smile and came over to press a kiss to your cheek.
“Suho, Sehun, and I will be going out for a bit. We’ll be back as soon as we can.”
“What? Can’t I go?”
“This place is unknown, and it’s best if you stay here where it’s safe.”
“Then why not bring our house here?”
“We don’t want to draw attention to ourselves. Besides this place was the blueprint of the home we have now. Stay and be good.”
“Alright… don’t be gone too long.”
“Hopefully we won’t.”
The trio went off, and you focused on making this old place feel new. Kai scouted ahead first to make sure no one would get hurt and that they could lay low. Alleys always worked in their favor.
“Where are we?” Sehun asked.
“No idea.” Kai admitted. “Since the frequency is so faint I can’t get an exact location, but they have to be around here somewhere.”
“So like a needle in a haystack.”
“At least I narrowed down the search, didn’t I?”
“Don’t fight.” Suho reminded. “We have no idea what they’re like anymore after all this time. We might not be welcomed. Just lay low and don’t draw attention.”
The area they were in wasn’t that popular, but there were still plenty of people around going about their day. They seamlessly blended in, walking down the street and looking around. Nothing much had seemed to change about the world, but that wasn’t entirely a good thing. While walking Sehun had gotten a strange feeling, stopping before a building.
“Sehun?”
“There’s something about this place.”
“What place? A dojo?”
“I can’t explain it.”
“Wouldn’t hurt to give it a try.”
The three went inside, seeing that the place was empty, except for one gentleman. They were cleaning the weapons rack. They began their welcome speech and turned around, only to cut themselves short.
“Suho… Kai… Sehun… is that really you?”
“Surprised to see us. Shownu?”
“I thought I’d never see you again.”
Shownu ran over to embrace the three in a hug, still processing that they were really there. So much had happened since they last spoke. There was a lot to catch up on, but something else was more important.
“What are you doing here? I didn’t think you’d return.”
“We have to right our wrongs.” Suho explained. “We’re sorry we took so long.”
“It’s just incredible to see you now.”
“What about the others?” Kai asked. “How are they?”
“I’m not so sure. We don’t keep in touch. It was better if we remained separate. Although for a while I was in contact with Wonho, but he hasn’t been around in months. I’m worried something happened to him but I have no way of finding out.”
“That’s alright. We plan to reunite everyone. If you don’t have any pressing business, we could go now.”
“Absolutely. It’d be so good to see everyone’s face again.”
Once again Kai relied on a faded feeling, going ahead to make sure everything was safe before returning for the others. Shownu did need a moment to recover from the nauseating feeling of teleportation before they could continue. It was another small town, but nothing vastly unfamiliar to Shownu. Neither of them knew where to look so it was back to walking the streets. Although this time around they had someone with a slightly better eye than them.
“Have you been avoiding me?”
“Huh… Shownu!”
Wonho ran over to hug his hyung, embracing them tightly with disbelief clear on his face. This seemed like a dream, more so when he realized his friend was not alone.
“You… is it really you?”
“Long time no see, right?”
“I can’t believe this.” Wonho stated. “What’s going on?”
“We’ll explain later, right now we’re just trying to find everyone.” Suho said. “Did you keep in touch with anyone?”
“No. Only Shownu, but that didn’t last long.”
“How did you find me anyway?”
“It’s a bit complicated… I received a watch in the mail with some instructions and a location… I was hesitant to use it but when I did, I found my way to you.”
“That must be what I sensed.” Sehun said. “The energy from you traveling back and forth. Without it we might not have found Shownu so easily.”
“I’m glad I could help.” Wonho teased. “So who are we looking for next?”
“No idea.” Suho admitted. “We’re just going to the nearest signal.”
“Got it. Ready when you are.”
“You’re very eager.”
“It’s been a long time.”
“I know.”
The five of them made the journey to their next location. Another town, and another needle in a haystack. Still, the more of them they found, the better they all felt. This time around everyone was surprised to find Minhyuk with Changkyun in a cafe. The reunion there was far bigger than the last.
“Have you two been in touch this whole time?” Wonho asked.
“Not consistently.” Minhyuk admitted. “Changkyun would stop by once in a while to check up on me, nothing more.”
“I have incredible timing don’t you think?” Changkyun teased. “I’m so happy to see you all, but also surprised.”
“When we get back to the cabin we can talk.”
“That place is still standing? I would have thought for sure RF would have destroyed it or something.”
“They’d never be able to get close.”
It was great to see each other, but they still had others to find. With the next jump some had gotten used to the nausea, and others not so much.
“Gosh, that always feels weird.” Changkyun commented. “So, who’s here?”
“We don’t know.” Kai said. “Just following a feeling.”
The group walked around for a while. They weren’t sure who to be looking for but once again Sehun had a strange feeling. He led the group inside a building, finding Jooheon behind a glass in the middle of work.
“Jooheon.”
“Hm?” The boy got up. “You… oh my gosh.”
Jooheon rushed out to embrace his brothers, tears stinging his eyes. Suho and the others let them have their reunion, aware they hadn’t seen much of each other in a long time too.
“What’s the reason behind all this?” Jooheon asked. “I thought we’d never see each other again.”
“It’s a long story.” Kai said. “But we’ll get to it. We just need to find the others first.”
“About that…”
“What?”
“I… I wish I could have told you all this sooner… but Kihyun… he was in a car accident…  he’s…”
“I’m so sorry.” Suho mentioned.
The news took everyone by surprise, although Sehun had been looking around. Once again he felt something was off, except it was different this time around. He stepped away from the group, and Kai noticed, following him.
“Sehun, what is it?”
“I’m not sure… but I feel like someone else is here…”
“Someone else?”
Kai wasn’t sure what Sehun meant, but he had his own way of figuring things out. He closed his eyes and took a moment, then disappeared. Moments later he returned and threw someone to the ground. This person had a visor covering their eyes like some VR headset, and seemed to be wearing some kind of armor.  The others had noticed this as well.
“What the heck?”
“This person’s been spying on us. Any ideas?”
“RF let us go.” Minhyuk said.
“That doesn’t mean they wouldn’t keep an eye on you.”
“They weren’t following us.” Sehun added. “So they must have been here keeping an eye on Jooheon.”
“Me?”
That’s when the spy decided to move, making an attempt to run but Kai was quick to follow. The two engaged in some quick combat. This person was skilled, but Kai’s powers gave him an advantage. He managed to land a hard kick to the face, causing the other to slam to the ground. There was the audible crack of the visor and then all movement ceased. Shownu and Suho flipped over the spy, realizing a familiar face was under the mask.
“Kihyun…”
Everyone was confused and shocked. The news they had just been told suddenly became a lie, and this brought up so many questions. They all agreed that they couldn’t stay here for much longer so Suho made the call to go back home, taking everyone with them.
“Clear the table.”
Shownu called out orders as he carried Kihyun inside, Jooheon quickly wiped everything off the nearest table. Everyone gathered around as Kihyun was laid out on the table, helping to get the gear off of him. Others that had heard the commotion came to see what was going on, although there were no time for greetings. Things were taken off Kihyun to make him more comfortable, but the visor wouldn’t come off.
“So…” Minhyuck spoke. “How do we get that off him? Seems attached to his face and I don’t wanna… what if I hurt him?”
“You won’t.”
Another voice caught everyone’s attention. They all looked over at the door, seeing a tall figure hidden under an umbrella walk in. Once the group had gotten to the old house Suho made it rain to cover their tracks and it was pretty bad outside. This person seemed pretty clean, barely a drop of water on their umbrella, and not a speck of mud on them despite the surrounding woods. The umbrella was lowered, Hyungwon revealing his face.
“There’s a button on the left side of the visor. Press it and it will come off without issue.”
No one moved but Minhyuck, feeling around and finding the button. When he got the visor off he tossed it to Chen. Kihyun didn’t react, the other boy starting to shake him.
“Kihyun… Kihyun, wake up.”
“He won’t.” Hyungwon said. “And I suggest you don’t fry the visor.”
“What do you mean he won’t wak-” Shownu said but was cut off.
“It was supposed to be me!”
Jooheon yelled, storming over to Hyungwon. The older boy didn’t move, not at all afraid of the other. It was clear Jooheon wanted to fight, but Wonho was quick to run over and step in front of Hyungwon, holding his arm out. Shownu and Changkyun had moved as well, grabbing Jooheon and pulling him back despite his protests.
“It was supposed to be me!”
“Jooheon, what are you talking about?” Changkyun asked. “You’re not making any sense.”
“I was supposed to be in the accident! Not Kihyun! I saw you there, Hyungwon, I saw you there at the crash site!”
“What?” Shownu’s grip got tighter. “Jooheon, stop this and explain yourself.”
Jooheon kept glaring at Hyungwon, wanting to punch him, but he stopped fighting when Shownu asked. The two holding him waited a moment, making sure he was calm before letting him go. Wonho stayed with Hyungwon, but wasn’t sure what was going on.
“I’ve always felt that something was off about the accident.” Jooheon began. “I’ve had dreams of it, where I’m the one in the driver’s seat, it felt so real, too real, to just be a dream. I remember seeing you there when the ambulance took Kihyun, and then you disappeared. It was supposed to be me right? You changed that somehow. Why? It should be me on that table!”
“I couldn’t let RF get to you, I’m sorry.”
“Wait, you’re saying that Jooheon’s dreams are real?” Minhyuk asked.
“Those aren’t dreams, but memories of another timeline. I’m surprised you retain fragments of the accident.”
“So this…” Changkyun was mumbling. “This was what you needed to change?”
“What?” Shownu questioned. “What are you talking about?”
“Hyungwon came to me once, long before the accident, he asked me for a favor, said it was important. He needed to change something in the timeline, told me when and where Minhyuck would be, asked me to look after him, keep him safe for as long as possible.”
“Wait, you’ve been in contact with Hyungwon this whole time?”
“Yes… yes, I have.”
“So, that’s how you found me? I found that watch, a customer left it. I was just messing with it, I didn’t know it…” Minhyuk trailed off as he came to a realization, looking at Hyungwon. “You left that for me! You wanted me to use it!”
“Yes. It’s why I left one at Wonho’s place too.”
“It was you? You… you set us up?” Wonho seemed hurt. “Why? WHY!?”
“I needed a distraction. You’re all on RF’s radar, if you were found to be time traveling they’d focus on you since you were messing with the timeline.”
“You gave one to Kihyun too!” Jooheon questioned. “Didn’t you! You knew he would feel guilty over what happened and would want to change it! Why didn’t you just stop the accident!”
“You don’t think I tried to stop it, despite knowing better. There are things that are fated to happen, that accident was one of them. It was going to happen, one way or the other, if not at that moment, then later. Every attempt I made to change it ended the same, Jooheon was severely hurt and taken by RF. I couldn’t stop it, but I could change who was taken.”
“Why! WHY!”
“What did you do?” Changkyun growled. “Kihyun didn’t just get into the driver’s seat…”
“I did what I just did here. I showed him the truth, the accident can’t be stopped, and I gave him the opportunity to save Jooheon.”
“No you manipulated him!” Jooheon spat. “I see no reason why it shouldn’t be me on the table.”
“It’s because of me.” Lay spoke up. “Isn’t?”
“Yes.” Hyungwon nodded. “I’m sorry.”
“Wait, what? What does Lay have to do with this.”
“Everything.” Xiumin added. “Jooheon, you know more about Lay’s plants than any of your friends. If RF got to you, they would learn that and… well I suppose Hyungwon knows what the outcome of that is.”
“You’re seriously defending him? He’s the one who betrayed us, who turned Baekhyun in, when you asked us to look after him.”
“We did.” Sehun got up. “But not Tao, right Hyungwon?”
“Yes. Tao asked me to bring Baekhyun in, he knew it wouldn’t end well if he was kept from the group any longer. I’m sorry.”
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Shownu asked.
“Cause he told me not to.”
“So you just betrayed us?” Wonho said. “You picked him over us?”
“That’s not it.”
“That’s exactly what you did!” Minhyuk yelled. “You betrayed us! And stayed with RF when they gave us an out!”
“He made a promise.” Kai added. “Isn’t that right? Tao could see the future if he focused with Luhan at his side. He knew what would happen if Baekhyun stayed away from us. He knew what would happen to him, to the others, and that we’d escape, but he knew we’d be back too. So, he needed someone to look after this world in our absence.”
“Yes.” Hyungwon admitted. “I made a promise, and that meant gaining RF’s trust, even if it meant losing you guys. I’m-”
“Don’t.” Wonho interrupted. “I don’t want to hear it, just wake Kihyun up and go.”
“I… I can’t… he’s comatose.”
“What!”
“The visor… it controls him, he’s lifeless without it.”
“So that’s what my fate was.” Jooheon said. “Comatose.”
“No… no it wasn’t. Messing with the timeline has a price, even when you find a loophole.”
“You… you killed him!” Changkyun shouted. “You killed Kihyun!”
“I’m sorry.”
Changkyun charged at Hyungwon, but he disappeared before he was grabbed. The boy fell to his knees distraught. He felt partially guilty for having helped Hyungwon in his plan, not knowing what the outcome would be. Shownu went over to comfort him, Wonho screaming as well and punching the wall. Minhyuk had fallen to his knees as well, holding Kihyun’s hand, his own silent tears falling.
“Fix this.” Jooheon looked at Lay. “You can heal him.”
“The mind is a far more complex thing to heal.”
“But you can do it.”
“I… I don’t know.”
“No, the answer is yes, you can fix him!”
“Jooheon, I don’t-”
“Don’t give me that crap, you can!”
“I don-”
“Maybe we can.” Baekhyun interrupted. “When Haechan and the others were stuck in the inbetween they were pretty much comatose. You woke them up, so you could-”
“We knew where their minds were, knew where to go and get them out. We have no idea where Kihyun is, he could be brain dead for all we know.”
“Then take him there.” Shownu spoke.
“What?”
“Take Kihyun’s mind to the inbetween, if he’s truly alive then you’ll find him there, right? And you can bring him back.”
“Do it.” Jooheon said. “Whatever that is, do it.”
“We can’t just do that.” Suho said. “The inbetween isn’t our place. We didn’t wake the others up, we helped one of their own go in and get them out. We can’t-”
“Then call your friends! Get them to do this!”
“Jooheon-”
“What do we have to lose?” Minhyuk added. “We didn’t know what had become of  Kihyun until now, but this isn’t living.”
“The inbetween becomes a personal hell if you stay there.” DO said. “It’s not-”
“Kihyun put himself in a car accident.” Wonho cut in. “He knew the consequences then, he’d understand them now. So whoever you need to call, call them and try to save him, that’s all we’re asking.”
It got quiet. Suho looked around at everyone, the decision had fallen to him. He took a breath then looked at Lay, nodding his head.
“Lay, DO, with me. Xiumin, you and Chen know what to make, the garden here is like the one back home, so you should have what you need. The rest of you look after y/n.”
You had heard the commotions from before, but Baekhyun had you stay hidden just to be safe. Nothing that was spoken made sense to you, not until the end and talking about the inbetween. You peeked your head around the corner, seeing this person unconscious on the table. Everyone seemed busy with things so you carefully approached them. You looked at them for a while before someone else approached. They looked you over and then pulled you into a hug.
“Y/n!”
You didn't react, confused as to who was hugging you and why. He had such a huge smile on his face, but it faltered when he saw your confusion.
“Y/n, it’s me, Wonho, we grew up together, remember?”
“What?”
“We went to elementary and high school together. You disappeared a few years ago, we thought you were dead.”
“Wait, what? You’re saying we know each other?”
“Yes.” Wonho pulled up a picture of you and him together. “What happened to you?”
You were quiet, staring at the picture, then you looked over at Chanyeol who was in the room. The sad look on their face told you everything you needed to know.
“I’m... I’m from here, this world is my home… why don’t I remember that! Why don’t I remember my past!”
You started to panic, drawing a blank on your childhood, on everything before knowing them. Cahnyeol took a step towards you but you backed away.
“No… what’s going on… why don’t I-”
“A lot happened when we met.” Suho added, having overheard things and coming over. “We met by chance and you helped us but RF caught up to us, we couldn’t just leave you for them to do who knows what so we took you with us. We never planned to come back here and we couldn’t return you either. We didn’t want you to feel home sick… so we made you forget your past…”
“I…”
You had tears in your eyes, the lack of memories making you feel so lost. Your past had always been a fuzzy thing, and when you thought back on it something else always came up to distract you. This wasn’t how you thought you’d get answers. Even if you did know Wonho you felt nothing familiar about him.
“It’s our fault. We got you involved, we never meant to, I swear, but we had to keep you safe.”
“Did you?” You spat, eyes flashing black for a moment. “What you did… was it really for my own good… or for yours.”
You stormed out, not wanting to hear anything anymore, having some new information to deal with. Once you were gone the others looked at each other, then Wonho.
“You knew y/n?” Suho questioned.
“Yes, and I thought I knew you too.”

Ignited chapter 3: Hidden Obstacles
Ch2 <-
As the promising youth of today took their exam, the heroes of days gone by were filled in on what transpired during their secret war. Yang told Jaune, Tai, and especially Jacquelyn, how Adam had saved her from an explosion that could’ve cost her life and put the man in an indefinite coma. After the story, Jacquelyn was finally able to explain to all, the festering hatred that hounded Jael like a tempest in her soul.
Most were privy to bits of the situation already, but for Jaune and Tai, who remained home to take care of the children, it was quite the story. Jaune had noticed the reserved and cold nature that Jael gave during her greeting like everyone else did. He wouldn’t have guessed the reasoning though, or how deep seeded the negativity would be.
“Poor girl.” He said, folding his arms. “That’s a lot for anyone to handle.”
Jackie nodded in agreement. “I’m happy to see you can empathize, but I also have to apologize. I’ve tried my best to get her to understand while her anger is justified, it shouldn’t be directed at any of you. Yujin especially. It’s just…” Jacquelyn sighed in defeat.
“It’s hard to tell your own child to look or feel one way when it’s impossible to hide your own frustrations. Believe me, I get it.”
Yang didn’t even want to think about the countless conversations Jaune must’ve had with Yujin about why her own mother wasn’t around. “I’m sorry.” She said softly. “To all of you; for…so many things.”
“Please, don’t burden yourself like this.” Jacquelyn looked at the group. “That goes for all of you. Nobody expected you to be perfect and despite my own grief, it was ultimately my husband’s choice to join you in ending this dangerous threat. Jael understands this too. I know she does. It just doesn’t change the fact Jael has sadly lived a life with things she could call hers and that are precious to her. The years Adam spent looking over your family in her eyes is time lost with him. Then this tragedy happened. To her, Yujin, or rather, the Xiao Longs have taken arguably the most precious thing of all from her.”
“Doesn’t help Adam trained Yujin.” Raven added. “It would be impossible for Yujin to not be the center of that girl’s resentment. I’m not saying Adam thought of my granddaughter as his own child by any means, but he definitely took his role as a mentor and figure quite seriously. Maybe he felt like he owed Yang for past grievances, or he is truly fond of Yujin? Either way…”
“It would be hard to stomach as his legitimate child.” Ruby finished. She couldn’t help but wonder if Canary held any similar sentiments in regards to how Uncle Qrow treated the two of them. “So what now? I can’t imagine Jael is swearing a lifetime of vengeance. I mean she’s taking the huntsman exam as we speak and seems like a pretty earnest kid.”
Jackie smiled gently. “Thank you, and she is quite earnest. Today, for better or for worse, she’s being comforted with the person she hates the most. She hopes to completely outshine Yujin and prove her superiority. At least, that’s how I see it. It’s why she hasn’t told Yujin about Adam. She wants to definitively prove that all the time she had with her father was well spent and more valuable than anything he gave yours. My fear is that she’ll get far too worked up, or worse.”
“Oh!” Yang perked up. “That reminds me, I saw her spit out blood. Adam had mentioned she was ill. Something about her heart?”
Jacquelyn’s eyes widened. To think he would share that with Yang of all people. Not to mention the look of concern on her face. Will wonders never cease?”
“Yes, my daughter was premature and has an exceptionally weak heart. In all honesty, she completely destroyed the odds of her life expectancy by more than a decade. Thankfully it’s completely possible for her to live a long life with her medicine and own diligence in her health. Her semblance, which is gravity, has also done wonders in lightening the stress on her heart.”
Ren was more than a little intrigued to hear that. “She uses her own semblance to help her heart? That takes incredible control.”
“She’s not always doing it but yes, she does. Life finds a way as they say. Her control probably surpasses mine. Still, the body has its limits. Reckless excursion and letting her emotions get the better of her too much will put strain on her heart. Sadly, I’m not surprised her first conversation with Yujin made her a bit… agitated. It’s why I asked Yujin to let Jael focus on the exam and try not to interact too much.”
Winter furrowed her brow, crossing her arms in skepticism. “You’re letting your daughter attempt to become a huntress despite the health risk!?”
“You see me as irresponsible? Truthfully, I can’t blame you, but believe me when I say my daughter is vastly more capable than I can put into words. If it weren’t for these specific circumstances, I’d imagine today and countless following days would be nothing she hasn’t handled in the past. We don’t exactly live in a comfortable environment. Also…”
Jacquelyn looked off at a single little bird standing on a branch. She watched as it took the leap, barely catching itself and taking flight into the sky.
“Any self respecting mother wishes a long and happy life for their children. That being said, I constantly see my youngest child doing everything she can to always feel her emotions within reason; as if she were a bird in a cage. As much as I would adore the idea of Jael living a simple, ordinary life for all her days, I know happiness is the last thing she’d feel. She may look like her father, but passion and desire to dream… those are my gifts to her. If I have a regret, it’s that I couldn’t give her a body naturally strong enough to chase down those dreams and ambitions without a second thought.”
A breeze blew through the group. It was hard not to feel some sort of pity towards the maiden and she deeply cared about her family. It was also difficult to not fear for Yujin. Once again, a Taurus and a Xiao Long were on opposing sides. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The sound of the tower’s bell rang. Nora turned her head to see several of the potential students already heading back.
“Time really flies. Looks like the first part is over.” She looked at Jacquelyn. “Sooooo…”
“Please treat my child normally, and I’d like it if all of you could continue honoring her request about Adam. If something happens, I’ll take full responsibility. Glynda already knows this, and you all of course have the right to intervene if you really think it’s necessary.”
They all nodded, but silently wished this day could stay pleasant. Yujin and Tenzen were already on their way back; Jael wasn’t too far behind them so Jacquelyn started putting a little distance from the group.
“We’re back!!!” Yujin grinned at her mother.
“Ha! Someone looks confident.”
“Of course! There were a few questions about grimm I was hazy on, but I know my stuff! If the grading scale is normal then I definitely passed this section.”
Tenzen wasn’t worried in the slightest either. In fact, he was even more relaxed than before. “I have a perfect score.”
“Oh yeah?” Nora smirked, hands on her hips. “That’s a bold statement before it’s graded.”
“Trust. I may not have been the star student at combat school but this surprise exam was easier than the finals.”
Yujin chuckled to herself. “I remember that day. You were sweating buckets and looked ready to vomit when I saw you.”
“I forgot my textbook! I couldn’t study properly!”
Several feet away, Jael let out a pensive sigh and tapped her left foot. “That could’ve gone better.”
“Oh no. Was our material not up to standard? I had Blake triple track.”
“No, it was.” She signed again. “I had just never taken a timed test before. Actually, I’ve never really taken a standardized test at all.” Being homeschooled really showed its consequences today.
“Did you manage to finish?”
“I managed that much. I also realized maybe my knowledge of dust isn’t what I’d call…up to par. As far as the rest goes, I feel pretty good about my answers.”
“Glad to hear it. I wouldn’t fret over the test too much. Many people here also don’t have the benefit of attending a combat school before entering an academy. However Beacon is grading this, I’m positive they take individuals like you into account.”
“Gee, I didn’t say I bombed or anything crazy. It was just…unfamiliar.” Jael pouted but quickly shook it off. “Regardless, I’ll make up the difference in the next part.”
“That’s the spirit!”
It wasn’t much longer than Glynda and Canary came walking out of the building at their own leisurely, but efficient pace.
“So was this a test of my grading skills?”
“Young lady, I wouldn’t have entertained an interview with you if I doubted your ability to do average math. Many of these children will be in your class before long. It serves you well to know what you might be getting into. That and if you’re anything like your father, learning to retain names now will make for less awkward moments later.”
Canary couldn’t help but smile softly. “Yeah. That sounds like something he’d struggle with.” They made it back to the group and surprisingly, the examinees all quickly lined up again. “Ha! Wow. Nice to see all of you are dedicated but loosen up a little. It’s not like you’re students…yet.”
Canary pulled out her scroll and raised it for all to see. “Now I could project all the scores big enough for you all to see. However, I’m not in the business of public humiliation or unnecessary stress. I’ll leave that to Professor Oobleck.”
The alumni of Beacon all sighed in unison. “Dr. Oobleck.” They said in a tired and strangely rehearsed manner.
Canary was only joking but now she shared the same look of worry the young adults did. “O…Kay then. Any who, once I hit the send button, all of you will be sent your personal scores thanks to all of you following the test direction by writing down your ID number. I will say this now. Even if your score is low, it doesn’t mean you’re doomed. Just that you have a steep hill to climb in terms of convincing us to let you in. Although for some of you…well, you’ll know who you are.”
She presses send and all scrolls start pinging. Voices of triumph were scattered alongside sighs of relief and agitated grunts. Yujin immediately sent her proud 89% to her family and heard their excitement. Tenzen scooted shoulder to shoulder with her, tilting his scroll her way to flash his 100%.
“…Fuck off. It’s my birthday. ” She nudged the snickering boy.
“What can I say? I’m a good test taker.”
Jael had to fumble with her new scroll a bit before finally opening the attachment to see a humble 72%. Honestly she wasn’t proud of it, but her attitude changed as a few of her peers actively began moving from their spot, heading towards an airship or back to their parents as they left.
“They could feel you immediately?” She said softly to herself.
“Yeah.” Said a boy with gray shaggy hair right next to her. “My cousin told me if you miss critical questions or get caught cheating, then you’ll fail immediately. Not that I can confirm this rumor but it makes sense. Huntsmen need knowledge and integrity after all.”
“Makes sense. Although by that logic it sounds like you could fail honorably and stay. At least that’s what it feels like.”
“Hehe, I like that theory.” The boy decided to show her his own score.
Jael wasn’t expecting to see a solid 50% in red. Yet there was a comment below that gave approval to stick around. “And here I was pitying myself. Guess my theory might have merit.”
“Looks like I’m steep climbing.” He laughed nervously.
His lack of confidence was more outstanding than his ability to get half of the possible points. This guy looked pretty sincere though and about a head shorter than her. Grayish blue eyes and deep blue jean shorts that contrasted his white shirt and open black button up. Even his cyan high top sneakers were pretty normal. Jael would’ve thought he was ready for the mall if it wasn’t for the black mechanical spear on his back.
Jael tilted her head as she examined the engravings on the pole and wide arrowhead shaped tip. “I didn’t catch your name.”
“Marcus.” He smiled. “Marcus Graystone. Nice to meet you. And yours?”
“Jael. A pleasure.”
“Likewise.”
As the failures left, Canary took the time to summon a giant Ursa, choosing to sit atop its head. Her eyes scanned for a certain person then checked the time. “Hmm, looks like I’m not the only person who shows up tardy; eh Glynda?” She smiled.
“The difference is you’re not a child. Also I have a pretty good idea on what’s holding them up.”
“Looks like they’re waiting on something.” Tenzen whispered to Yujin. “Any clues on what?”
“It probably has to do with the next phase of the entrance exam, right? Maybe another teacher is coming.”
“Ooo, I hope it’s Professor Peach.”
“Y’know I hear that name occasionally, and yet for some reason it sounds made up.”
Glynda took the initiative to call the examiner. It only took two rings before an answer.
“Sorry! I’m sorry!” A youthful and gentle voice cried out. “The devil's always in the details! Not to mention I took it upon myself to do some grimm dispatches. I know I probably shouldn’t since this is a huntsman academy exam but a particular few-”
“Ms. Aspen. Are you ready?”
Glynda said calmly.
“…Yeah. We’re all set, I'll say.”
“So I’ll have the students move to the next location and meet you there?”
“Mmm, no need for all that trouble. Plus it’s important to have ample time for good decisions. All you gotta do is video call me and point me towards the crowd! I’ll handle the rest.”
“Very well then.” Glynda hit video call and extended her scroll out. “May I have everyone’s attention!”
There wasn’t a single person who wasn’t squinting as they tried to see what was on the scroll.
“Ah, the courtyard. A nearly full one at that. Looks like there’s a bunch of good apples this year.” The young woman said, knowing few would hear her. “Let’s see who’s right for the picking!”
A golden portal opened up a few inches in front of the scroll and everyone’s eyes widened. Although some, like Yujin, had their eyes immediately grow to the size of dinner plates before the portal could fully open for a young woman to come walking out. It was as if radiant sunlight draped the new visitor. Long orangey-yellow fabric hung off her arms and the back of her dress while the front stood at her knees. The embroidered cuffs and the top of her strapless dress was an intricate white pattern that matched her shin high cowgirl boots. The most peculiar thing was the thin golden veil that rested on silky black hair. Her presence was sudden and captivating like a woodland sprite from a fairytale. However, one person was in immense awe from knowing exactly who that was.
“LILITH!?” Yujin all but shrieked in a burst of bumbling excitement before everyone looked her way, including the young lady who now lifted her veil to gaze with left sky blue eye and right amber eye. Yujin’s cheeks turned a crazy shade of red while her hands instinctively covered her mouth after her outburst.
Lilith waved. “Ah, looks like I have a fan in the ranks.” She smiled warmer than her dress. She could tell right now that the young girl absolutely wanted to disappear so Lilith chose to not dwell on the moment and addressed everyone. “Hello my future classmates. As several of you may know, I’m Lilith Aspen. A junior this year at Beacon and currently your examiner.”
Jael gave a long and puzzling look. She could’ve sworn she’s seen this person before. “Aren’t you the girl from the cereal box?” She blurts out casually.
To no surprise, several people look at her like she’s crazy for a second. Lilith on the other hand found Jael’s question pretty humorous. “Haha! If that’s how I’m recognized then perhaps I should listen to Professor Port and put more flair into my combat next time I go to regionals.”
“Please don’t.” Glynda said dryly.
“To answer your question properly, yes. I’m the lady on the Pumpkin Pete’s cereal box. Today though, I am the lady telling you all that the next phase of the exam is…an obstacle course!” She gives a very quiet round of applause. “Now I won’t spoil all the obstacles but the premise is simple. You’ll start at one end of Forever Fall and have to make it to the opposite side. You will be timed and there’s cameras everywhere to monitor both progress and safety. Any questions?”
“Is it a race!?” A girl yelled.
“Uh, essentially. All of you do have to start at once. Anything else?”
Tenzen raised his hand. “Are we going through your portal or taking a ship?”
“Hehe, excellent question.” She giggled. “That is all up to you. I imagine most of you, if not all, have brought all your equipment already. Due to the nature of this particular exam however, it also makes sense to be prepared. Forever Fall is still grimm territory at the end of the day. We have prepared an airship to bring you into town for exactly half an hour near all the approved equipment shops if anyone is feeling underprepared. After that you will get back on the ship and it will take you to the test site. Those who feel well equipped…” she stepped aside and gestured to her portal.
An interesting proposal for sure. The groups muttered amongst themselves, thinking of the best solution. The first to move and gain attention again was Jael. The contestants watched in awe as the girl floated over everyone towards the portal.
“She can fly!?” Yujin was beyond amazed. “That’s an awesome semblance!”
“Yujin, your grandma can turn into a bird and your aunt can turn into scattering petals.”
“Hush Tenzen! Multiple things can be cool! Anyways, let’s get going!”
They both followed Jael’s lead. This entire day was prepared ages ago. Tenzen jumped in feet first while Yujin sheepishly waved after Lilith gave another disarming smile. Yujin darted in quickly before she would do something embarrassing again. Many others began to follow their example while others headed towards the ship. Once all the participants got through the portal, Glynda went through.
“Ms. Schnee?”
“You can go ahead and go through.” She pointed at her family and friends. Raven had already made her own portal. Maybe she figured walking over was pointless with Yujin on the other side. “I’ll ride with them.”
“Kay. Heh, what are the odds of two portal users in the same space? I wonder how hers work?”
“I’ll try giving you an opportunity to ask later.” Canary gave a thumbs up and ran off to the heroes. “Hey! Don’t leave me out!”
Raven turned her head. “Wha- you were closer to the other one!”
“Don’t be like that auntie. It’s been ages since I’ve done this. I like the sensation.” Canary walked through the scarier looking portal. “Woooo~”
Canary’s carefree attitude earned a couple of snickers as others went through. “Looks like she’s in a bit of a better mood than earlier.” Winter said.
Ruby had to agree. “Yeah. I’m relieved. I thought I’d ruin her entire day.”
“Please don’t think like that, or let everything she said get to you. I can’t claim to know my daughter's exact feelings towards you currently, but I do know she still loves you a lot. In truth, that’s probably why she’s taken things so personally.”
“I know…” Ruby sighed. Hindsight really is 20/20 at the worst of times. “I’m sure the talk after the exams will be long, but worth it.” Ruby walked through the portal.
Everyone came out on the other side at the edge of Forever Fall’s forest. Medical staff was prepped and ready on the sidelines while a giant red archway signified the starting point. Glynda was already checking the monitor, double checking all the cameras.
Lilith clapped her hands and cried out, “Everyone ready!?” Earning many confused looks from adults and students.
“Umm aren’t we waiting for the people who went into town?” A shy girl asked in the crowd.
“Oh, about that, nope. It was a tactical lie.” Lilith said casually. “Everyone was given notice ahead of time on what they needed to bring. Failure to be prepared upon arrival is willful negligence.”
“Wait…” Marcus spoke up. “Does that mean getting on the airship meant failing!?”
“I’d think less about the choices you didn’t make and more about the road ahead; literally and metaphorically. The obstacles are vast and your path isn’t strict. My tip to all of you is to make use of the open area. Friendly reminder, you are timed. Starting now!”
A loud buzzer signaled the beginning of chaos as the future students began running through the arch and into the forest. Yujin and Tenzen broke free from the pack immediately by going out to the right and then continuing straight.
Tenzen looked at his friend with curiosity. “You following me?”
“Pfft, get real! Going straight is quicker in terms of distance. However…”
“It probably has the most obstacles. I’m practically a ninja though so I’m not worried. What’s your plan exactly?”
“Play it by ear? It’s not like there’s a marked path best suited for me. Plus I’m sure they aren’t only scoring us on time. Lilith’s words were like Canary’s during the first part. They’re intentionally trying to make us think in certain ways in order to mask others.”
Tenzen was amazed how much thought Yujin was putting into this. She was really trying to give it her all today. “Teamwork.”
“Huh?”
“If I had to take a wild guess, they’ll score teamwork. Everything Lilith said stoked competition but if we’re applying for a huntsman school then teamwork is important.”
That made sense to Yujin. If people failed by choosing to go into town then it wouldn’t be surprising if you could fail by willingly ignoring someone in need or intentionally getting in their way. Okay; her mind was made up.
“Tenzen, let’s have each other’s backs! We’ll also stick our nose out for others in trouble.”
“I mean I was going to do that regardless, but sure!” He grinned.
Jael stuck the trees and was in far less of a rush. A single lunge propelled her several feet to one branch after another as she made her way left and outward. Where less people gathered. She had thought of similar things in regards to Lilith's intentions and decided on pacing herself slower than normal. The obstacles could be anything and while she could easily avoid a lot of things, having others encounter them first could give valuable insight.
Back at the start, Canary and the others caught up with Lilith as she watched the monitors. “I never would’ve guessed a girl like you would use a tactical lie as a way to set up a bigger lie. I feel bad for those kids on the ship.”
“Don’t be. I haven’t failed them by any means.” She smiled in satisfaction. “That was the tactical lie, haha!”
“Excuse me!?” Nora questioned. “So what’s your angle!?”
“I could never fail someone who chooses to prepare with time given to them. Just like I acknowledge the readiness of everyone who decided they’re fully prepared.”
“So you did it to gauge personality?”
“A little. By the time the second group arrives this first one will be done. Luckily the split was fairly even. It’s easier to guarantee safety.”
“So this is the mind of the regional's winner? Not bad at all.” Jaune praised.
“Thank you, but it’s more of the mind of an overthinker if you ask me, hehe. Can’t say it makes for an easier grading scale unfortunately. Such is the price of nuance.”
It was an interesting approach to the exam. Those who did poorly in this group may come off as being too cocky or rowdy. On the other hand, failing after having time to prepare is going to look abysmal for those in group two.
Yang greeted Lilith with her scroll and a new journal she planned on giving Yujin. “Hey, my daughter is never going to ask herself but can she please have your autograph and maybe a photo?”
Glynda clicked her tongue. “Is this really the time to be asking for that?”
“It’s a cute surprise. Plus your eyes are glued to the screen. It’s obvious you have the say in finalizing scores. As if you’d give the control to anyone else.” Yang’s words earned a side eye from her old teacher, but she was right!
Lilith happily signed the inside of the book and held up a peace sign for a quick photo. It was hard not to notice how much the famous Yang Xiao Long looked like the girl who called her name. “By any chance, was your daughter-”
“Yes.”
“Hehe, outstanding.”

“Achoo!!! Eugh!” Yujin sniffled.
“Uh oh. Getting sick on your birthday? That’s no good.”
“Relax. It was probably the leaves or something. I’m firing on all cylinders! Bring on the first obstacle!”
As if the gods heard her, hidden launchers fired hunting nets and bolas! The girl let out an “eep!” Before jumping over bolas aimed at her legs. Her shirt was quickly yanked by Tenzen, allowing her to avoid a net. She quickly returned the favor when she shoved him away from another net fired to her left. It flew right between them and tangled another pair of bolas.
“Phew! That was- ah!” Yujin yelped as Tenzen talked her to the ground and out from under a falling wooden cage.
Tenzen could not believe they set up an entire cage! Not that it would’ve been impossible to escape but come on! “Why do I have a feeling Professor Port was in charge of this section?” He chuckled.”
“Tenzen?”
“Hmm?” He looked down to see the girl staring right at him, her cheeks a little flushed.
“You can…get off of me now if you want.” She awkwardly asked, clearing her throat with a fake and weak cough.
“…Sorry.” He sprang up, extending his hand to help her up. “I guess I could’ve just broken the cage when I think about it.”
“It’s good!” She dusted herself off. “It’s all good. So uh..should we be…?”
“Yeah! Uuh, yeah…”
They both took off running again. Although this time they weren’t as talkative and extra mindful of their surroundings. Hopefully the cameras didn’t catch that particular moment.
Meanwhile in Jael’s neck of the woods, the girl finally touched solid ground and jogged down a path riddled with soft dirt. Left right left right left right left; every step felt good enough. She assumed pits had to be dug around the place.
“Am I getting lucky?” She asked herself. Right left right left right left ri-
Click
“Hmm!?” Jael froze immediately, keeping her right foot exactly where it was after hearing the mechanical click. She hissed softly. “Shit! Pressure plate; but for what?” There was a lot of foliage. It could easily be a trigger for projectiles or a trapdoor. She doubted it was anything explosive. She could raise her foot and found out. That was always an option.

Jacquelyn watched as her daughter stood motionless on the feed. “What’s on the floor?”
“Launching springs.” Glynda said as she monitored multiple kids. “They aren’t as powerful as the ones we use for the first day of school, but they’ll send anyone flying backwards at least 15 feet. More if they’re unprepared for the recoil.”
“That’s rough.”
Raven shrugged. “I see landing strategies are still highly encouraged for the start. Let’s see Jael’s. She can’t stand there forever.”
“They all waited to see how the girl would take this first obstacle. Only her mother expected the girl’s next move. Every witness Jael simply walk off. Anticlimactic for sure but still surprising! Jael stared at the spot she moved from briefly before continuing her jog. A few seconds passed before the springboard triggered forcefully.
“It was delayed.” Winter said, examining the live feed. “And she isn’t changing her path either.”
“Haha, why would she?” Jackie smiled, raising a single brow. “I told you all already. My daughter has amazing control of her semblance.”
xxxxx
Jael freely walked through this section of the course without fear. Hidden pressure plates weren’t so scary when you’re too light to trigger them. And even if she did, a little extra pressure to keep it still until she got off of one was just as easy.
Jael smirked at her own cleverness. She felt sorry for whoever made this obstacle. Clearly they weren’t thinking about her when they made it.
“Today might be easier than I thought.”

When Diana woke up the next morning she was smiling bright. She felt like she could conquer everything and anything. She felt renewed in a way, like a weight had been lifted off of her chest. She knew she’d be seeing Harry later that night, which was really exciting given the progress they’d made the night before.
“Mom?” She heard and turned over in her bed to see Celeste peeking into her room.
“Morning, mamita. How’d you sleep?” She asked.
“Fine. I ummm…I had a weird dream.” She said and Diana frowned as she scooted over and patted the empty spot in her bed and Celeste went over and slipped inside.
“Want to talk about it?” She asked and Celeste sighed.
“Ummm…I guess…” she said, “It was that I was in session with Dr. Styles and I was upset at him for not showing up to the meeting.” She said and Diana nodded, “And I was talking to him and he was trying to apologize and I…got angry and I accidentally…” she sighed and shook her head before burying her face in her pillow, “I called him dad.” She mumbled very lowly into the pillow with slight embarrassment.
“Sweetheart, what?” Diana asked and Celeste groaned as she unburied her face and glanced over at her mom with a concerned expression.
“I called Dr. Styles dad!” She said more clearly and with some distress in her voice. She was frowning as Diana’s eyes widened. That was not at all what she had been expecting to hear. It kind of caught her by surprise.
“Oh!” She said softly, still in shock and Celeste sighed and covered her face with a pillow again as she groaned in shame.
“Is that weird?” She asked into the pillow over her face.
“Mamita, look at me, please.” Diana insisted gently. Celeste reluctantly removed the pillow from her face. She looked so concerned, her eyes were even welling up a bit as she looked at her mom, “It’s not weird, OK?” Diana said and Celeste looked at her incredulously for a moment, “I know it feels weird, but I promise you, it’s not weird. That’s quite normal, actually. It’s called transference. So think of it as transferring the feelings you have towards someone else you know onto your therapist.” She explained, “So it kind of starts to make you view your therapist as the person they remind you of.”
“But I don’t know my dad…” Celeste said with confusion and Diana nodded.
“Well, that’s true, but maybe deep inside a part of you feels…abandoned by him? Like hehasn’t shown up for you.” Diana reasoned, “And maybe when Dr. Styles didn’t show up the other day it made you feel like he had abandoned you too when you needed him most.” She suggested and Celeste frowned as the realization struck her. It was true, in a way she felt incomplete. Not that her mom wasn’t enough to care for her and love her, but it was just different in a way she couldn’t really explain. “And well, Dr. Styles has really been there for you the last few months. He’s helped you through some difficult things, supported you, cared for you, taught you things about yourself and new skills…so in a way he’s been doing part of the job a dad does too and that can…make a big impact. Especially since you don’t have a dad to…to look up to.” Diana reasoned and Celeste nodded.
“I do miss him sometimes. Dad.” She said and Diana nodded.
“Yeah, you can miss someone without knowing them. Like you know of him and that memory of him can definitely justify you missing him. Or even just with Dr. Styles, maybe you might imagine that your dad would be something like that?” Diana shrugged.
“I do imagine he’d be something like that.” Celeste admitted, “Was he?” She asked and Diana smiled.
“Yeah actually.” She nodded, “He was patient, kind, smart, understanding…very caring and supportive. He was really good at making other people feel happy.” Diana shared, wearing a fond smile as she thought of the similarities between the two.
“You’re not sad about him being gone anymore?” She asked next and Diana looked at her perplexed a bit.
“What makes you ask that?”
“Well usually you get sad a little when we talk about him. You usually cry…” she reminded and Diana hummed. Maybe in making room for Harry in her heart it pushed out a lot of the pain she had been feeling over Wes. Talking about him with Celeste in this moment obviously brought back memories and feelings of nostalgia, but it didn’t hurt, at least not like it used to. It felt very different than before.
“That’s right…” she acknowledged, “You know, I think maybe talking about him with you more has helped me not feel so sad about it. It happened so long ago…but I still remember him fondly, just with less pain which is…well, that’s how it’s supposed to go.” She said and Celeste smiled.
“Well I’m glad it doesn’t make you as sad as before.”
“Me too, mamita.” Diana smiled, “Are you excited for the dance today?”
“Yeah! We made a plan with everyone yesterday. Even Geri and Megan made up, so that’s good.” Celeste shared and Diana smiled.
“Good. I’m happy to hear that.” Diana assured, “And…have you given any more thought to therapy on Monday?”
“Well, the dream kind of forced me to think about it. And now I just feel a little weird about it.” She said honestly, “So for now I think I’ll just…pass.” She said again and Diana nodded.
“OK.” She smiled.
“Do you think it’ll make Dr. Styles upset?” She asked worriedly.
“No, I don’t think so.” She shook her head, “I’m sure he’ll be bummed he doesn’t get to apologize to you as soon as he wants to, but I’m sure he’ll understand if you need a little time to not be upset at him, if you still are.”
“OK.” Celeste smiled softly and Diana returned her gesture.
“Also, your uncle’s gonna take you and pick you up today so that you have a little more time with him before he goes tonight.” Diana informed and she nodded.
“Good. Can we get Starbucks?” She asked and Diana chuckled.
“Fine. But a tall, OK? I don’t want you all wired at school, then you’ll get all jittery.” She reminded and Celeste smiled.
“OK.” She agreed with a smile.
The rest of the day just seemed to fly by. It was about 5 o’clock when Damian got home with Celeste and Diana was just hopping out of the shower, preparing herself for their night on the town. Once she finished up she helped Celeste with her makeup for the dance and at 6:30 Geri’s mom had arrived to pick Celeste up.
“You have your overnight bag right?”
“Yes, mom…” Celeste huffed.
“OK, and send a cute picture when you get there!” Diana called after her as she rushed out to Geri’s mom’s car.
“I will!” She shouted back. Diana went out and waved at Geri’s mom with a big smile before they took off.
“And now it’s our turn.” Damian smiled as he also waved them off.
“Wait, no goodbye from Celeste?” Diana questioned.
“We said goodbye right before we came into the house. She hates goodbyes… didn’t want to cry with her makeup on or something.” He said and she chuckled and shook her head.
“And just like that…freshman year, gone.” She said.
“Well if it makes you feel better she still has exams and her concert next week…”
“It doesn’t…she’s growing so fast.” She said and he smiled.
“Oh, I got her those fucking boots she’s been harassing you for, for her birthday.” He informed and Diana shook her head, “And I also added a little something to her college fund account.” He said and Diana glanced to him.
“Thank you. You don’t have to keep doing that.”
“Now’s the time more than ever! College will be here before you know it!”
“Well, that’s true…” Diana concurred, “She’s gonna be 15 on Monday…”
“That’s so crazy…” Damian sighed and Diana nodded, “Is she still made at Harry.”
“Definitely.” Diana chuckled.
“Speaking of…how’d it go last night?”
“Good…we had a huge fight…” she said and Damian chuckled, “It was productive. He’s been really understanding and patient, but I guess he just didn’t really get my angle since I’ve been flip flopping a lot with where we stand.”
“And?”
“We’re gonna go on a date soon.” She smiled and Damian smirked.
“Good for you, sis.”
“Thanks.” She smiled, “We’ll see how it goes tonight…”
“Great I’m sure…gonna have the house to yourself…” he teased.
“Nope, we don’t talk about those things! Go finish packing!” She said and he rolled his eyes.
“Not for that! Just so that you guys can talk and stuff but like with privacy…”
“Talk and stuff? Go away…” Diana said and Damian chuckled as he headed upstairs to finish packing.
After another few minutes Damian was coming down with his bag and they were settling into the car and taking off to meet everyone else at a bar they had agreed upon. It was a little on the classier side, so when they arrived it was nice to look around at how everyone was dressed and expressing themselves. Then finally they saw Grace hop up from a booth near the back and wave them over excitedly.
As soon as they made their way over Harry glanced to Diana and smiled as he took her in as she approached. She was in a simple black dress. She looked radiant and as beautiful as she always did. Harry wanted to just whisk her up in his arms and hold her until she begged him to let go. They all stood to greet them and as soon as Harry got to hug Diana he felt like his evening had been made. Again, that unreal scent of cherries and warmth just wafted around her and made his thoughts fire off in a frenzy.
“Mmmm, hi.” She hummed in his hold and he smiled.
“Hi. Long time no see.” He teased quietly as they held on for just a few more seconds. When he heard her giggle it was his cue to pull back. He wanted to see her smile and. How the little freckle on the side of her nose scrunched up when she laughed or smiled wide enough.
“Yeah, I’ll say.” She agreed and he smiled at her, “Y’look really nice.” She complimented and he chuckled bashfully.
“Oh no, not compared to you. I mean, look at you!” he complimented, taking a step back and taking her in just a bit more. He knew that wearing heels couldn’t be all that comfortable, but when she wore them she was tall enough to be the perfect height so that they could kiss easily and for that reason he was obsessed with the heels.
“Ahem…” they heard suddenly and glanced to the table where Henry, Grace and Damian were just waiting (with knowing smirks) for them to stop flirting and get seated.
“Right! After you.” Harry insisted and she thanked him as she slipped into the booth.
“Well, I for one am getting a Long Island.” Grace announced and everyone groaned softly and she pouted, “What?” She asked.
“Just, keep it together, yeah?” Damian said and everyone else sniggered along.
“Or just stick to a mai-tai.” Diana hummed and she sighed…
“I ate before I came. Didn’t I, babe?” She said to Henry and he made a questionable sound which made everyone burst into laughter. “Babe!” She huffed with wide eyes and he shrugged.
“I don’t think half an avocado constitutes as a meal, babe.” Henry said and she rolled her eyes.
“Well I didn’t want to eat a lot because I figured we’d go eat something…” she defended and they all chuckled. After about ten minutes of waiting the waitress came by and took their orders. Diana was just waiting for Celeste to send over her picture, she insisted on not taking photos in their front yard she wanted them by this mural the senior art class had painted painted at the school. So when her phone buzzed she was quick to take it out and smiled when she saw the picture Celeste had sent her.
“Awwww, look at her, guys.” Diana hummed as she slid her phone over to Harry who smiled as he glanced down at the picture of Celeste in her little dance dress.
“Oh, she looks lovely.” Harry said softly with an equally proud smile as he then passed it over to Damian and then he to Grace and Henry as they all took a moment to see the picture she’d sent. When Diana got her phone back she typed out a quick response before sending it off and putting her phone back.
“Sorry, I’ve been waiting for her to send the picture.” She giggled, but everyone understood.
Soon the conversation took a turn to Damian and what he had coming up next. He was going back to Spain for another few months before returning to Mexico to help his father with some contract deals he needed to establish. All the while they listened, Harry and Diana’s legs were brushed against each other under the table. They made subtle movements to just let the other know that it was completely intentional. They were still a bit wary about doing too much to soon in front of everyone. But soon enough the first round of drinks came and they had those, then another round, and soon Harry’s arm was draped behind Diana as he leaned in to hear the conversation on the other side of the booth better. He smelled divine and he was so warm that she just wanted to cuddle up close to him and stay there all night. It happened subconsciously when her hand came up to his knee that was right behind her and before she could even think about it his other hand was coming down over her own. She swore that everyone in the building could hear her heart pounding away in her chest as his fingers slotted in between hers. She was covered in goosebumps as she raised her hand a bit so that he could fully clasp their hands together and it just felt so right. Like everything with him did.
It was fully receiving to Harry to see her visibly relax as their hands joined together discreetly under the table. The conversation carried on like normal and it just felt like for once, everything that they wanted with each other was entirely possible. There were no limitations to what they could be and that felt so good.
*********
The spring dance had been going well. Celeste’s group had been able to introduce Megan to a few more of their own friends and they were going about doing all of the activities they had put together for them there. Obviously, the time they were not busy doing something was time they were spending gawking at the upperclassmen girls and their gorgeous all out dresses. The seniors had, had their prom, this was just a consolation dance for everyone else, but it was still nice to see that the Junior class just really wanted to make this special for themselves.
“Guys, I’m gonna go to the bathroom.” Celeste informed her friends. They all nodded and she soon made her way out of the gym and to the bathrooms. She was soon freshening up a bit, ensuring that her makeup wasn’t out of place or anything before she wandered back out to the hall.
“Celeste?” She heard her name and whipped around quickly to see a boy she recognized slightly pushing off from one of the lockers across the hall.
“Yeah, that’s me.” She said nervously and he smiled.
“Yeah, I know.” He chuckled and she smiled down at her shoes bashfully. Duh, he called your name, dummy, she thought to herself. “I’m in jazz combo too. I drum though, second seat, so I’m not really in your line of sight.” He explained and she nodded.
“Yeah, I remember you.” She smiled, “Ben, right?” She asked and he nodded.
“Yeah.” He smiled, “Ummm, I just wanted to tell you that you look really pretty and that ummm…well, I know we haven’t talked to much or even have any classes but that together, but ummm…w-would you want to maybe h-hang out sometime soon after school’s out?” He asked and she blinked her eyes slowly at him a few times, kind of in shock.
“But you’re a junior.” She said and he smiled.
“Well, I’m actually a sophomore, but my bother’s a junior and so we have a lot of the same friends.” He clarified and she shook her head.
“Right…ummm…why are you you talking to me?” She asked and he chuckled nervously.
“Well I just think you seem cool I guess…and like…I just think you’re pretty and…you know what never mind…” he chuckled bashfully and started to turn away.
“Wait!” She said and he stopped and turned back, “Sorry, I didn’t mean it in a bad way. It’s just that it’s been not a great year for me and I guess it’s just weird for someone to talk to me like…this I guess?” She clarified, “I just wasn’t expecting it. But ummm…yeah, I’d love to hang out sometime.” She said and he smiled now.
“Cool.” He said and dug around his pockets for his phone, “Here, let me get your number.” He said handing it over and she typed it un quickly before giving it back, “Cool, thanks.” He said with a smile and she nodded, “And like… I mean, it does’t have to be a date or anything if you don’t want!” He clarified quickly, “Like we can hang out with our friends or something like that.” He said right a way and she smiled nervously.
“OK.” She hummed and he smiled at her before he smiled at the ground.
“Yeah, that was all…ummm, sorry you make me nervous. Which is why I haven’t talked to you all year!” He said and she giggled, “But I think it’s about time I just got over my nerves.” He said and she smiled at him.
“Yeah, glad you did.” She responded and his smile widened, “I should probably go back to my friends, but ummm, text me, I guess.”
“Yeah. I will.” He assured and she nodded before sparing him one last smiley glance before she rushed back into the gym.
She felt like she was tingling and buzzing from the excitement. Of course she had noticed him in the group before, but he was so cute and seemed so unattainable. She tended to just not bother with people she thought were out of her league but now he had talked to her and asked for her number, because he wanted to hang out with her? It seemed unreal.
********
The group was now at bar number three, well actually, it was a sushi bar. Everyone was sufficiently tipsy and reading over the menus as they tried to decide on their meals. Diana was right up against Harry. His jacket was draped over her shoulders to warm her a bit while they spoke softly about what they were craving. All night they had been a bit more touchy-feely to no one’s surprise. It was just cute how they seemed to feel a need to be discreet for absolutely no reason around other people. They all knew that they were into each other and even if they’d never said anything, the stolen glances, little grins, and slightly subtle flirtations we enough to clue anyone in.
They ended up at a karaoke bar after dinner and were each taking their turns up front, having the time of their lives. Grace was up there singing Barbiegirl while the rest of the group sang along with her from the table. Harry’s arm was draped over Diana’s torso and she was pressed right up against his side.
“We should sing a song.” Harry said and she smile and nodded.
“Yeah, let’s do it!” Diana agreed and he smiled as he nuzzled up to her. With a few drinks in her she was far more relaxed; cuddly even and Harry was loving it. He also loved her enthusiasm for wanting to do something like this with him. Rebecca was not one for performing for anyone unless she was in court, “What should we sing?” She asked as she unwrapped his arm from her waist so that she could turn to him. But he smiled wide as she intertwined their fingers, “What?” She asked at his evident distraction.
“You’re holding my hand.” He said and she glanced down and smiled as she noticed that she was in fact holding his hand. Her eyes flickered up to his as she ran her thumb along the side of his hand a few times.
“I am holding your hand.” She hummed in confirmation.
“OK, so what did you want to sing?” He asked her with a big smile and she grinned.
“High School Musical.” Diana said and he nodded with a chuckle.
“There was only one right answer.” He hummed and she giggled. They hurried out of the booth to get in the line and queue up their song. Obviously when the time came they gave a performance. Mimicking some of the dance moves they managed to remember from the film.
“You know the world can see us in a way that’s different than who we….are.” they finished glancing deeply into each others eyes, singing through shaky voices as they tried to hold back their laughter at how cheesy they were being. The bar erupted in a roaring cheer as they finished and Harry made them bow as they made their way off of the stage hand in hand.
“I got that all on video by the way.” Grace said and they just chuckled bashfully. Finally it was nearing the time for Damian to go and so they stood outside of their cars now, saying their goodbyes.
“Bye Grace it was great to see you again.” Damian said as he hugged her tight.
“You too.” She said.
“And great to meet you, Henry,” He said hugging him as well.
“Yeah, so good to meet you as well.” He said as he pat his back a few times.
“And Harry,” he said turning towards him.
“Actually,” Henry cut in, “w-we were wondering if he could catch a ride back with you? We’re not spending the night at home.” He explained.
“Of course!” Diana assured.
“Perfect.” Harry smiled and so they finished saying their goodbyes before they all got in Diana’s car. They talked about the night, the things Damien had liked most about his visit, and a few other random topics until they were rolling to a stop at the departure’s terminal.
“Here we are.” Diana said and they started to unbuckle themselves. Harry rushed back to get his suitcase while Damian and Diana exchanged a few words before they hugged tight. She wiped a few tears from her eyes as she backed up and sighed. “I can’t even look at you for another second.” She sniffled and Damian chuckled.
“It’s fine, go back inside.” He assured her, “Love you.”
“Love you.” She blubbered before she went back into the car.
“Here you are, mate.” Harry said as he wheeled Damian’s bag back to him and he grabbed the handle.
“Thanks man.” He assured, “Ummm, I don’t want to get all weird with you or anything but uh, thank you for taking care of my sister and Celeste.” He said, “I can see how much happier they both are with you around. I think you’re just what they need and ummm…I hope that next time I visit you’re uh…still around.” He said extending his hand to him and Harry smiled and took his hand.
“I umm…I think I will be. I’ll try my best to.” He assured with a chuckle and Damian nodded. With that he grabbed his bag and waved once more before he headed inside. Harry settled back into the car and Diana sighed. “You ok?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. I’m just gonna miss him.” She said as she turned to him for a moment before taking off again. “So should I drop you off at home?”
“Yeah.” He said and smiled, “Do you wanna have a little night cap?”
“Yeah, I’d love that.” She hummed and he directed her to his place.
“You can park beside me if you want.” He said and she went up to the spot beside his car and parked there.
“Oh, it’s so nice!” She complimented as she put the car into the parking gear.
“Thank you.” He smiled as they got down and he felt around for his keys before finding them and they headed up to his door. He had left a lamp on in the living room which gave it a nice warm glow and she smiled as it dimly lit up the space before her. She looked around and took in the details, the nice and natural colors gave his home a warm and comforting feeling.
“I love this, Harry!” She said as she looked around “And it smells so nice.” She smiled at him.
“Oh, thank you.” He chuckled and soon Misty came from around a corner to greet them. She mewed at them and Harry chuckled.
“I know, I know…your bed’s in the dryer.” He said to the cat, “C’mon, let me drop you off at the kitchen.” He said to Diana and she nodded as she followed him through to the kitchen, “There are water bottles in the fridge if you want one. Let me just get her bed set up.”
“Yeah, go on.” She assured as he hurried off into the darkness and misty went off behind him. She could hear him rustling about for a bit before he was coming back into the kitchen and washing his hands quickly, “Sorry, it was about time I washed her bedding. Ummm, nightcap, so I have…” he said as he opened his fridge, “Beer and I’ve got some red wine options.”
“Wine sounds good.” She said and he went over to a little cabinet and searched around for one, “So…I’ve been thinking about this date I asked you on.” She said and he smiled.
“OK, go on…”
“I was thinking that maybe we can go to this jazz night thing they have at this vineyard in Malibu.” She shared and he smiled as he came back with a bottle.
“Actually that sounds really nice.”
“Yeah? It’s live music, which is always good and it’s quite-ish and romantic, I’d say…”
“You want to make it romantic?” He asked with a smirk as he cheeks went pink.
“Well, it is a date is it not?” She asked, “Unless you’d rather it not be…” she hummed teasingly and he chuckled.
“No, romantic is perfect.” He said as he turned to grab them some glasses for them.
“OK, good.” She giggled before he got out his waiter wine opener and started to twist it into the cork.
“It’s a good thing you like wine then.” He hummed and she nodded  with a giggle.
“Right…” she said as she came around as he started to pour the wine.
“Alright.” He said as he set the bottle down.
“Harry?”
“Yeah, love?” He asked as he turned to her with a smile and she bit her lip nervously.
“Umm…are you gonna kiss me?” She asked and he chuckled nervously.
“Yeah, i-if you want me to! I was just a bit nervous since last time we…you know…I didn’t know if that had maybe just pushed our boundary back a bit or something.” He explained and she nodded in understanding.
“Yeah, umm…maybe we should clarify that.” She said nervously, “I just got nervous last time and had like a little freakout. But I ummm…I’m into you in every way.” She clarified. “Like tonight was nice, getting to just touch you whenever I wanted or be close to you.” She admitted bashfully and wit burning cheeks, but she just needed to be honest about how much she had wanted that, “Like…yeah, I get nervous and wonder if maybe I’m doing too much but I do want those things with you.” She said and he smiled.
“I want that with you too.” He hummed softly, “And well, I didn’t know if you were a snuggly type or not…” he chuckled, “Glad you are though.” He added with a little grin towards her and she smiled.
“I am.” She confirmed. He stepped a bit closer and gently grabbed her face in his hands.
“Is this OK then?” He asked as he finally touched her the way he’d been waiting to all night. She nodded in his hold as her eyes met his. He was so breathtaking. The tension brewing between them all night was slowly starting to peak and it was nerve-racking and exhilarating all at the same time. As he dipped lower her lips twitched up into a smile before they kissed slowly. He was gentle at first, just giving her two short and sweet pecks before going back in and deepening the kiss a bit more. The relieved hum that rumbled in her throat as his tongue gently skimmed her bottom lip made everything inside of him spark up. He loved to feel her arms hug around his body to hold him closer as the tenderness melted into need. They needed each other. They had been needing each other for so long now and were now finally in the moment where everything they wanted felt like it was possible.
It was an electricity around them that tingled with every movement, even the lightest amount of friction felt charged with possibility. A slow and deep kiss between them felt earth shattering. Diana loved to feel the way his lips moved with hers, they were feeding off of each other’s passion and feelings towards each other. She had so much care and love in her heart for Harry, it was outstanding to be able to act on it. To show him just how much he meant to her with her lips and with her soft and reaffirming touches. Even if she wasn’t saying it, Harry got them message by the way she was clinging to him and kissing back with no inhibition.
“I wanna make you feel good, baby.” He mumbled into her mouth and she felt as the wave of goosebumps rose across her body, “We can go slow and even keep our clothes on f’you want, but I just want to make you come.” He got out before kissing her deeply again.
Diana felt her core tighten up at the thought of Harry making her come undone with his hands or his mouth or whatever else he had in mind. She needed it so badly. Her body ached to connect with his in that way, it pleaded and begged for it forever and she never gave in, but now her resolve had completely washed away as she nodded briefly at him.
“Please.” She whispered against his mouth and he kissed her before pulling back. Their chests rose and fell quickly as they recovered their breaths for a moment.
“Are you sure?” He asked and she nodded as she looked up at him.
“I’m sure.” She confirmed softly.
“Well if you start to feel weird or even change your mind just tell me, OK? Please tell me, this is not something you can just push past, you know? I want you to know that you mean a lot to me and I…I…care about you.” He said earnestly as he looked straight into her eyes, “I want you to feel safe with me. That’s all I care about, Di.” He assured her. There was this genuine and gentle look in his eyes that made her heart thump harder and harder in her chest. She tiptoed and held his jaw tenderly as she kissed his lips quickly.
“I’ve never felt more safe with anyone in my life.” She assured softly and the gentle look in his eyes intensified even more, “I trust you with so much already.” She smiled at him, “And I…trust you with this too.” She confessed.
“Yeah?” He asked with a small smile and she nodded before responding verbally.
“Yeah.” Her eyes didn’t waver from his for a moment, “Should we go to your room? Or is this where all the action happens?” She asked jokingly to lighten the intensity of the tension between them and he sniggered.
“C’mon.” He said taking her hand in his and guiding her through his place. It was so dark as he guided her through the house until he reaching his bedroom door and opened it up. The moonlight was cascading in through the open windows, giving her some idea of what the space looked like. Again, like everything else it was neat and smelled of his cologne and looked great from what she could see. “Lights on or off?” He asked her.
“This is alright. Can you see?” She asked him and he chuckled.
“Yeah, enough. Can you?” He asked as he hugged around her waist from behind and she nodded.
“Yeah, I can see.” She giggled as he kissed the side of her head. It was so different doing something like this with the feelings she had in her heart. For the last decade or so she’d been so detached emotionally from her sexually intimate experiences. It was scary to know that whatever happened between them next would  just naturally make her mind bond to him even more. Reinforce everything she’d been feeling for him already.
“Nervous?” He asked softly and she swallowed thickly and nodded as the feeling started making her stomach swirl with some anxiety and uncertainty. “What can I do to help?” He asked as he let her go and came before her and she glanced up into his eyes.
“Ummm…just…” she exhaled shakily, “Just keep being you.” She said to him and he smiled softly at her and without a warning he tugged her forward as he sat on the edge of the bed and she straddled his lap and yelped as he pulled her down with him and they giggled as they just looked at each other for a few moments before their smiles faded on their own.
“Is this OK?” He asked softly as he draped his arm over her waist and tangled his leg with hers. She nodded in confirmation. He shift again so that he was no holding himself up and slightly hovering over her, “And this?” She nodded again. “And if we start with something we know…” he asked as he very gently let his hips relax so that his bottom half was pressed against her own. He was already a bit turned on, she could feel it through his trousers and the thin fabric of her dress. She relaxed her hips and hiked her leg up around his hip, giving him more space. He dipped down and joined their lips again in a slow but ardent kiss.
Everything he was doing felt so intentional that it kept increasing and increasing her arousal and need for him. The way he touched her with his lips and his hands. The way his hips gently rolled against her own, letting her feel how hard he was getting for her. He kissed down her neck and she smiled at the tickles of it as she extended her neck even further to give him more access. Her skin was tingling in anticipation as he made his calculated movements that were making her more and more impatient. As he slid the strap of her dress down her shoulder his lips followed down her arm until he was kissing the palm of her hand before he moved to the other one and did the same thing. She was absolutely buzzing at this build up.
“There’s a zipper on the side.” She informed and he nodded.
“Thank you.” He hummed with a chuckle and she giggled. Her skin broke out in goosebumps when she heard and felt the zipper coming undone. And soon she was sitting up and he was helping pull the dress over her head. He set it down over the little stool at the end of his bed before he started working on the buttons of his shirt. He bit his lip to channel his desperation for her. Seeing her propped up on her elbows watching him undress in just her bra and panties was making him so impatient.
“You’re so breathtaking.” He said as he shrugged the shirt off of his shoulders and she smiled as she scooted herself to the end of the bed and reached for his trousers. She kissed the butterfly inked into his skin as her fingers unfastened the button and zipper of his pants. His thumb stroked her jaw at her delicate and affectionate actions. He swore his heart beat harder and faster with each kiss she gave him. And when she rested her chin on him and looked up at him with those beautiful green eyes of hers he swore he stopped breathing for a few seconds.
“Is it selfish of me to say that I don’t want anyone else to touch you like this?” She asked him bashfully and he smiled and shook his head.
“I’m not particularly fond of that possibility either.” He assured her, “For me or for you.” He clarified and she smiled at his response, “I only want you.” He assured as he started to push her back onto the bed and when he was hovering over her again he kissed her deeply, “I only want to feel your lips on my lips.” He hummed before kissing her again, “And only your hands on my skin.” He said before giving her another kiss, “And your body on my body.” He added as he delved in yet again, his words were already building her pleasure up, “And your scent on me and my clothes and my bed…” he sighed as he rolled his hips against hers and she moaned softly at the friction, “I only want to hear your voice sighing, moaning, begging, and curing me and everything I can do to make you feel good.” He got out breathily against her mouth and Diana felt her body tense up and her walls to clench up at what he said. “I only want you.” He repeated again and she reached behind his neck and held him close as they kissed heatedly now. Her hips were bucking up meeting his own now and she was growing wetter and wetter for him.
“I only want you too.” She panted and he groaned as he sunk his teeth into her bottom lip and ground his clothed erection right into her clit. Diana whimpered and squeezed her eyes shut at the feeling, “P-please touch me, Harry.” She beckoned and he released her lip and nodded.
“Yeah? Ready for me, baby?” He asked and she nodded quickly. He made sure his eyes were on hers when she nodded her approval and he dipped down and kissed her quickly, “Let’d get you more comfortable, yeah?” She nodded and soon they were just throwing all of the extra pillows on the ground haphazardly, laughing softly when she may have “accidentally” whacked Harry with one as she tossed it out of the way.
“Oops!” She giggled and he lunged himself over her, pinning her down on the bed, nipping and sucking at her neck playfully.
“Oops?” He asked through his chuckles as he toyed with her for a bit, making her laugh and squirm beneath him until she was struggling to breathe through her laughter.
“OK! OK! OK! Sorry!” She laughed and he chuckled before letting up and grinning down at her.
“I suppose it’s alright.” He hummed and she smiled up at him.
“Harry?”
“Hmmm?” He asked through his own smile.
“I’m really happy that I’m here with you.” She said softly, bringing back a solemn tone to the moment. He felt his entire chest want to cave in from the way his heart thumped wildly and so he leaned down and kissed her.
His big, warm hands started to travel down her body. Igniting the fire of need in her with every inch he covered. He reached down to properly hike her legs up around him and he ground against her center, making her whimper before he knelt up to have better range of motion. With her legs on either side of his body now his hands slid up her torso. He wanted to feel her soft, warm skin under the palms of his hands. And he glanced up to her for permission before he grabbed her breasts and she nodded he reached up and dragged the cups of her bra down before dipping down and taking one of her nipples into his mouth while he caressed and teased the other with his fingers. The whine that left her throat made him moan against her skin. She was losing her mind as she watched his gorgeous cheek bones carving out even further with the pressure of his sucks. He started to just swirl his tongue around as he glanced up to her and she moaned and clenched the sheet beneath her tight.
“Fuck, that feels good!” She sang softly as he kissed his way over to the other.
Diana was already clenching up in anticipation and she felt so relieved as he got his mouth on her left breast. She bucked her hips up as she felt one of his hands sliding down her side and then two of his fingers hooked into the elastic of her underwear. His digits traveled across her skin and tugged where the little bow on her panties rested, right in the middle of the band. She was so wet for him, she could feel herself throbbing uncontrollably in anticipation of his next move. Everything about the way he was doing this was erotic and exciting. She felt like all of this was part of the build up. She was getting impatient and trying to roll up against him for more friction, but he wanted her to just be a bit more patient with him because he intended to blow her mind. Diana recalled him saying something about him liking to build the pleasure, to edge…if you asked her this was all the edging portion. She was so needy and impatient to just have him make her come. She wanted to come for him so bad. She was getting antsy and whiney as he continued to just play with the band of her underwear, she wanted to feel his fingers against her surely sopping center. She wanted him to quell the insatiable need radiating from deep in her pussy. For him to play with her clit until it was so sensitive that she was trembling in his hands and falling apart for him.
“Please…” she whimpered, “I need you. I need you so badly.” She pleaded and Harry sighed in satisfaction as he started to kiss up her sternum, the column of her throat, her jaw, and finally at her lips again as he brought his other hand to her underwear and started to tug them down. She lifted her hips right away as he got them to her thighs before he moved aside to get them down before he knelt between her legs again. He immediately went back to kissing her and she moaned into his mouth as his whole hand cupped over her center.
“So we f’me, baby.” He smirked and she nodded.
“Yeah, want you so bad.” She said softly and he smiled at her when she huffed as he removed his hand for a second, but her back arched up and she gasped in surprised as two of his fingers dipped into her crease, swirling around in her warm and slicked up pussy. She was about to lose her mind about him neglecting her clit, but just then he rubbed his fingers against her sopping entrance before sliding his fingers up to her swollen little button and he started to rub. Harry was covered in goosebumps as her beautiful sounds flooded his ears and seemed to consume him. He wanted to do whatever he could to keep hearing them. He added a bit more pressure and her legs fell wider for him.
“Like that?” He asked her and she blinked her eyes open to look at him as she nodded.
“Yes…yes, keep going just like that!” She keened. She already looked hazy-eyed as he play with her little clit. It wasn’t taking much from the looks of it. He knew she’d been neglected for so long, but more than that, he was the object of her desires, much like she was his. Finally getting to be with him for this was the fulfillment of months worth of fantasies. He bit his lip as he just paid close attention to the way her body responded to his touches, to the sounds she made and the shifts of her hips. He was 100% attentive to her needs and it made him feel so proud when he saw her eyes squeeze shut and her back starting to arch up towards him. He smirked when she brought her hand over her mouth as the other gripped the covers beneath her tightly.
“Baby, you can make sounds, we’re at mine. Remember?” He hummed and she opened her eyes and started to giggle quietly.
“Right.. Force of habit.” She said before she bit her lip and exhaled shakily as he started to slow down his pace.
“I get it.” He chuckled and he watched as she visibly looked for him to start back up to what he had been doing before. But before she could even ask him to, he slid his fingers back down to her entrance and gentle pressed in and her hips bucked up and he relieved the pressure he had placed and she whined out in protest, “Don’t worry, baby. M’going.” He assured her and she was panting now. He could feel her little hole trying to suck his fingers inside, it was driving him insane.
“OK…I just…I need it so bad.” She whispered and he kissed her lips.
“I know, baby. I know.” He appeased her as he started teasing at her entrance again. Continuing to build up her need and anticipation, testing her resolve.
Diana felt like she was about to crumble under his touch. Her body was aching to feel any part of him deep inside. She needed that closeness with him, she’d been staving it off for months now. Even before she had reached any level of closeness with him, she was attracted to him. But now that her feelings were involved it just made it all the more intense. She trying to wait, the anticipation was making her feel so frazzled and out of control. She felt helpless in his arms and the only thing keeping her from begging him was the knowledge that he’d take good care of her. Soon. Eventually. She was impatient, but she knew it’d be worth it when he got started. And boy, was she right. He groaned in pleasure as he sunk his index into her and thrust it a few times, curling it up into that spot inside of her that made her toes curl before he added the second finger in and she whimpered as he got in deep and started pulsing his hand into her until she was gasping. It felt like way too much because of how much he’d already built her up before.
“Harry! Oh my god!” She moaned as he kept up his pace and then started ti rub her clit with his thumb. He was getting such good spot inside of her that she could hear how wet se was for him with each diligent plunge of his fingers into her. Her back was arching and her abs tensing as her orgasm built in record time. It’d been so long and it was him, it was finally him and everything just felt so good with him. She couldn’t believe it, but she was covered in goosebumps and fighting to keep her legs open, “M’gonna come!” She gasped and he moaned as he kissed her sloppily.
“Go on, baby. Come for me.” He mumbled, his lips smeared with hers as he spoke into their kiss. Her erratic breathing suddenly hitched for a few seconds before she let out the most beautiful moan of his name as her walls started to squeeze his fingers tight in rhythmic pulses. Diana’s mind was drawn a blank as she came undone, everything inside of her was vibrating with pleasure at the explosive and wonderful feelings erupting within her. Her hips were writhing, attempting to get away from his touches, but he was working her through the entire thing. His kisses started to travel down her body, lips searing the skin left in their wake. Before she even knew it her hands were buried in his hair as he licked her arousal off of her inner thighs. And even still, his fingers were fucking into her slowly.
“Oh fuck, please lick my pussy, baby.” She pleaded impatiently even though she was still recovering from her first orgasm and he didn’t need to be told twice. He delved in right way. His tongue was dexterous as it lapped and flicked at her clit at the pace she had liked from before. Harry could feel her walls clenching tight around his fingers and so he pushed them in a little deeper, rubbing them into the spot that her falling apart before. Her legs started to tremble almost immediately. Diana lost her mind, her eyes rolled back and she couldn’t help but whine and moan out in pleasure as he worked her up to another orgasm so quickly. “Faster, please, a little faster!” She instructed and as he followed her instruction she started bucking up into his mouth, shivering when he started to suck on her clit with his new pace. She was breathing so shallowly she swore she was getting dizzy from the lack of oxygen. She could feel her legs start to tremble as she approached the brink again. Her back started to arch as she moaned in time with the deep and calculated pumps of his fingers into her most tender spot. And that was it. She started to see white behind her closed eyes as that tightly wound coil of pleasure just burst inside of her. She withered so beautifully underneath him, she could barely hear herself moan through the ringing in her ears.  He was groaning lowly at the feeling of her coming undone. She was so hot inside and getting wetter and slicker as her cum started to coat his fingers. He kept fucking his fingers into her like before, just gradually slowing down as the pulsing of her walls decreased.
Even though her eyes were closed, a few tears were streaming down her face at how good she felt. Her body was still tingling as he gently pulled his fingers out of her before he just got his mouth on her pussy. She moaned as he licked into her entrance, cleaning up all of her creamy cum and getting a proper taste of his well earned reward. She pulled at his hair a bit when his nose bumped into her sensitive clit, but he quickly moved up and lightly flicked hhis tongue over it, giggling as her legs twitched from it.
“S’too much!” She whimpered and he hummed before kissing the top of her mound.
“Sorry, baby.” He apologized before sucking his fingers clean and crawling back up to her body. She pulled him down for a kiss right away and her shaky hands went down to his briefs where she rubbed over his very evident bulge. They parted from their kiss with a soft smack, “Y’don’t have to.”
“I want to.” She reached into his briefs and started to rub over his cock. Harry shivered at her touch, he did want to come, so fucking bad.  “W-what if you just like…rub against me?” She asked him and he nodded furiously at her suggestion. He didn’t expect them to have sex any time soon, but she wanted him to rub up against her pussy to make himself come?  He didn’t require any additional persuasion. She giggled at his eagerness, but how could be anything less than enthusiastic when her little cunt was so warm and wet for him? She was a fucking dream.
“D-d’you want me t’get a condom for that?” He asked her, his wild and slightly wide eyes meeting her own. She leaned up and kissed his lips slowly before responding and then she remembered something and she stopped kissing him, “What is it?” He asked.
“Ummm…y-you’re- you…can’t get me pregnant right?” She asked and he nodded.
“Yeah.” He said and then chuckled, “Yeah, you’re right that I can’t at the moment.” He confirmed and she smiled at his little blunder.
“Then…I don’t think so…you’re clean?” she said timidly and he nodded.
“I can though if you’d prefer, I don’t think finishing will be a problem either way.” He assured her with a slight tinge to his cheeks that he was glad she couldn’t see due to the lighting. She giggled softly as he smiled down at her.
“It’s alright with me, just want you to feel good.” She smiled and he kissed her quickly.
“OK. Can I get something else though?” He asked her and she nodded her head, urging him to continue his question, “A vibrator?” He asked against her kiss-swollen lips and he smiled as he bit down on her lip, her hazy gaze fixed on his as she nodded.
“Yeah…fuck yeah, get the vibrator.” She said as he quickly but carefully moved over her body to reach his bedside table and dug around in there for a moment before he pulled out a little silk bag. He pulled on the clasp to open it up and he pulled out a little bullet about the size of his thumb. She had never been with a man who used toys with her. Well, she’d been with very few men, but she still felt this was rare. But it was exhilarating. He flipped it around in his fingers, trying to find the button to get it on and finally he found it and pressed down. As soon as Diana heard the muted buzzing her pussy started to flutter and she started to get even more wet. She squirmed under him as the anticipation started to get too much.
“I haven’t used this in a while so it’s gonna be a little intense for me, but for you it could ummm…like do you use a toy regularly? We might have different limits.” He explained.
“Oh yeah, but I’m quite sensitive from everything you did to me…” she said and they giggled quietly, “so I think we can start the same.” She finished her thought and he nodded. “Wait, let me get a pillow so it’s a little better angle.” She said and he nodded and helped her raise her hips a bit more so that she was in a better position for him.
Diana’s body jolted and she whimpered when the silicone vibrator was pressed against her clit. Her skin was covered in goosebumps now as the shock of pleasure rippled through her body for a few seconds. Then she felt the warmth and weight of Harry’s erection against the bottom of her vulva. She let her legs fall open further and he sighed in relief as he laid his cock over her dripping pussy and slid up to her clit and held it there for a few seconds to enjoy the vibrations as well. The head of his cock was over her clit as their skin tickled together under the same vibrations. He ground against her expertly and then out of nowhere he clicked it up twice to increase the intensity of the vibrations and now his whole cock was vibrating over the entirety of her pussy.
“Oh fuuu-uuck.” Harry he groaned through a laugh at the way his cock was tingling so hard now. Diana’s opening was getting wetter and wetter as he continued grinding and sliding through her folds. His own pre-cum was adding to the already sticky mess between Diana’s thighs. Her moans and squeals of overstimulation were making his heavy and sperm-filled balls tense up, his body’s way of preparing to unload his cum. He started going a bit faster and increased the intensity of the vibrations once again.
“I’m gonna cum, Harry! Oh fuck!”
“Hang on, baby. J-just wait a little more f’me, I want you to come with me.” He rushed out and she whimpered in protest, “Please, baby. Fuck! I want you to feel me coming all over your little pussy while you come for me.” He grunted . She groaned as she tried to hold off a bit longer. Harry’s lips parted and he let out a deep moan that melted into a whimper as his cock twitched.
“Harry!” Diana whimpered.
“Fuck yeah…here it comes, baby. Come for me, Di. Come for me.”  He panted as he started to shoot his warm, milky sperm all up against her pussy. He groaned as he continued thrusting, smearing his big load all over her pussy. Her moans were angelic and he swore he was levitating as the high reached his brain and froze them in time for just a few seconds before they started to come down. Their bodies shook from the now too harsh vibrations and Harry quickly powered down the vibrator to give them relief. He let it drop between her legs before she sat up and grabbed his face as she kissed him deeply. Their lips smacked and melted together for several seconds before she parted with a gasp.
“Harry, I l-” she suddenly cut herself off as her brain caught up with her heart.
“You what?” He asked through a chuckle. Her eyebrows creased in for just a second before she responded.
“I totally blanked.” She said with a perplexed pout and he sniggered and kissed her lips quickly.
“How’re you feeling?” He asked her more seriously.
“Good.” She said softly and then smiled, “Really good.” She tagged in and he smiled.
“Yeah? That was alright?”
“More than alright. It was good! All of it was so, so good.” She assured and he hummed.
“Thought so.” He responded with a soft, but still slightly arrogant, satisfied tone, “Let me get something to clean you.” He said before parting from her and hurrying into his ensuite. When the light flicked on it brought some more color to his bedroom and she thought it was sweet that he definitely had a color scheme going on throughout the home. She glanced over to the door when Harry returning cast a shadow over the bed. He warned her before he cleaned up her mons and over the parts of her he could see he’d busted all over. But he knew she’d need to get cleaned up a little better anyway. She didn’t seem to be shy that he had helped some and it was surprising to him. But when he came back into the once again dark bedroom from the bathroom and laid beside her she was grinning.
“No one’s ever ummm…done that for me before and I… didn’t know how to tell you it was fine before you were back down there.” She said and he chuckled.
“I’m sorry! I thought it was fine!” He apologized right away.
“It’s alright. It’s…considerate!” She said and he chuckled. She reached for his chin and gently pulled him into a kiss again, “I mean it, that was amazing. Thank you for that. And well, for teaching me the benefits of being patient.” She said and he laughed before kissing her again.
“Anytime.” He assured her with a cheeky smile.
“Noted.” She winked, “Ummm, I’m gonna use the bathroom. I’m gonna…steal this from you for a minute.” She said as she picked up his dress shirt from the ground.
“Yeah, of course.” He assured as he sat up, “I’m gonna  clean up a bit, OK? Take your time.” He assured and she hurried into the bathroom. Harry sat there for a second with a smile so wide that his cheeks hurt, but he was so happy she liked that. All of it. He knew it’d probably be a bit slower for them, with good reason, but he just wanted to get to know this side of her too. He had honestly expected for her to be a bit more guarded or shy with him than she had been, but maybe she trusted him a lot more than he thought. Whatever it was, it made him happy.
He then got up and got a clean set of briefs on before he hurried to the guest bathroom to wash the vibrator. He checked the bed for any wet spots or stains and decided to leave the comforter on when he didn’t find any and just as he was fluffing up the pillows Diana came out of the bathroom. He smiled at how cute she looked in his dress shirt. She’d rolled up the sleeves so that they weren’t as long and then she saw her clothes neatly laid across the stools at the foot of his bed.
“Forgot these.” She said grabbing her underwear, “Look away for my dignity!” She joked and he chuckled as he covered his eyes playfully as she giggled and started not slip them up her legs. She was just getting them to her knees when he walked over to her and crouched down to tug them up the rest of the way up her legs. He pressed his shirt up over her legs and she held it out of his way as he kissed up her thighs and her lower tummy as he let the band snap into place gently.
“There you are.” He said as he stood and straightened the material of his shirt out so that it was falling to her mid thigh again.
“Thank you.” She said softly and he kissed her lips quickly.
“So, do you want to drink your wine and watch something or are you gonna head home?” He asked her and she smiled.
“We didn’t open that bottle for nothing, did we?” She asked and he chuckled.
“That’s right.” He agreed, “I’ll go get the wine. The remote’s where the vibrator was.” He said with a shy smile, “And uh, make yourself comfy. I’ll be back in a minute.” He said and she nodded. She had been scrolling absentmindedly for a bit before Harry came back with a bed tray with the wine glass, bottle, and other stuff.
“I also brought snacks because I figured we needed to recover our strength after all that.” He said with a chuckle.
“Oh definitely. What’d you bring?” She asked.
“Pitta chips and hummus.” He said and she pouted.
“No junk?” She asked and he chuckled.
“Ummm, no.” he said, “Are you one of those mom’s who has a secret stash of junk food for herself?”
“No! Celeste and I both have stashes and we just pretend to not know about them.” She said and he laughed softly.
“I guess if you’re not withholding snacks from her it’s fine. I haven’t ummm, food shopped actually so I really don’t have any other snacks.” He explained, “I’m quite sad about it too, this is not my preferred snack.” He assured her as she giggled.
“No worries, I like this too. I was just being a fuss.”
“Yeah, alright…” He hummed skeptically and she assured him she did real like hummus and even ate some for him to prove it. Then they just put on Dexter and sat back into the pillows. She was right up against him as they ate and watched for a few minutes before Harry broke the silence. “So…what snacks do you like so I can have some here for you if we…decide to do this again some time?” He asked and she turned to him, biting back her smile.
“Reese’s peanut butter cups and lemon lays.” She said with a smile and he hummed.
“Well, at least we can agree on one of those…” he said and she chuckled.
“What’s wrong with lemon lays?” She asked.
“How do you know I’m referring to the lays?” He asked and she grinned.
“Because you’re white, Harry.” She said with a straight face and he laughed loudly.
“Fair enough…” he mumbled when his laughter died down and she was still laughing softly beside him, “They’re really sour. Like unreasonably sour.” He defended himself.
“Yeah, apparently…” she said and he chuckled, “So our date…should we go in two weeks? Maybe on Saturday?” She asked him and he smiled.
“Yeah, that’s perfect.” He responded and she kissed his cheek once more.
“Perfect.” She hummed.

================================================
"Urghhh..." You Groaned loudly. Before you could even open your eyes, you felt twinges of pain scattered throughout your body. Some of the worst pain you've ever felt in your life. Literally feeling like you'd been hit by a Semi Truck. With hot palpitations of pain in your arms and hands serving as a reminder of what had happened. The curse, Nanami calling to you. You remembered everything and yet, as you tried to replay it in your mind. All you could really focus on was evil mischievous face of the curse. Was this it? You wondered silently. Was this the life? The life of a hero you had wanted so badly. You didn't realize it at first, but you should have taken Nanami's words more seriously. Everyone else's cheerful demeanor seemed almost like a betrayal to you as you laid there feeling the stinging vibrations over and over again. You wanted to cry. This wasn't anywhere near what you had expected and to be honest, you'd be lying if you said you had wanted to try again. The fear and the pain. It shook your resolve to your core.
Slowly opening your eyes you took in your surroundings. You'd been placed in a small room with a bed, a window, and a machine next to you. Where you in the hospital? It looked almost too plain to be one. No charts hung from the bed you laid on, but you did notice. Hanging at the end of your bed was a scroll. It looked old and to be honest a little odd. It didn't look like something that belonged in a hospital and you couldn't make out the small characters on it. Where were you?
You tried sitting up and felt a sharp pain in your arms that made you gasp. The wounds now wrapped in bandages had a tinge of red. You had been treated but what was more so interesting was that your hands had been bandaged to look like mittens. That's right... you remembered. The burning sensation in your hands. Could it have been the curse? You thought to yourself. Trying to relive the fight only for it to make you feel more down than you already had. Another failure, an almost fatal failure. You brought your mitten bandaged hands to your face feeling hot tears forming in your eyes.
"Who would want this?" You whispered to yourself.
Just then, the door to your room swung open and Nanami entered with a slender woman with long brown hair in a lab coat, cigarette in hand. They let people smoke in hospitals now?
"Y/n. You're awake." Exhaling her cigarette and dropping it off at a ashtray by the door as she walked over to your bed. She stopped close to you, looking at the machine you were hooked up to and examining your bandages.
"Uhm, not to be rude... but who are you and where am I?" The question was more so directed at the woman but Nanami was quick to answer.
"You're back at Jujutsu Tech, This is Shoko our school doctor." You nodded and tried to sit up more, but the pain was like lightening in your wounds and you had no choice but to lay back down. So you were back at the school.
"Try not to sit up. You took a beating. But rest assured, your wounds are rough but not fatal. It'll just take a few days to heal which will mean bed rest. Annoying I know, but that's all we can do for right now." Shoko said to you almost robotically. Checking over you, she deduced that time was the only thing that would be helpful now. Making her way towards the exit she stopped and turned to Nanami. "I'll let you explain to her what's going on. I'll be back to change your bandages in a few hours Y/n." She waved her hand in her departure as she reached back for her lit cigarette and closed the door behind her. Leaving just you and Nanami.
Adjusting his glasses he let out a long sigh and took a seat in a chair that lay vacant next to your bed. "I must first apologize Y/n. You were never meant to be in any harm. The curse was stronger than anticipated. You were only meant to observe the situation not engage but I couldn't have anticipated how much cursed energy that thing had stored." Sitting there in silence you just nodded to his words.
"Let me say this though, with all things considered. You did well. You managed to keep your life. Which is more than what some sorcerers get in their first time against a grade of that magnitude." He was complimenting you but you still felt shit about the whole situation. you didn't think you did good at all. You were almost positive that this could be added to the list of failures you had stacked up. You just cried and screamed for your life. How could any of that be good?
"I will say this, though. Your technique being able to hold off that curse. It's impressive. It's awful that it took you almost succumbing to have it manifest itself but I guess Gojo was right. A pressure test was needed." Your head shot up at his words. Technique?
"My technique? But I didn't do anything?" Didn't you? All you remembered was fighting and trying to hold the thing from biting you. That's all you could do before the burning. The thing had even stabbed you.
Nanami reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. "That curse should have killed you, it was almost three times stronger than you, but you were able to keep it at bay with this." Leaning over to you he showed you the picture on his phone. It was you, your unconscious body. Covered in the curse's blood. You couldn't see anything about the picture that was suppose to stand out.
"I don't see what you mean.."
"Your hands. Look at your hands." Glancing at the picture again you saw what he was trying to show you. Your hands had strange black markings on them. Ones that you knew for certain had never been there before. "The burning...." you thought out loud.
"Your hands are your technique. Right now all we know is when you touch something it can burn. We're not sure if this is permanent or if it's triggered by something. Shoko had to wrap your hands in special bandages and all we know so far about your technique is what's on that scroll over there." Motioning towards the odd scroll you had noticed earlier.
"Wait what? You mean It's possible I can never touch anything again without burning it? And what the scroll have to do with it?" As much as the idea of this new technique excited you, you couldn't shake the sinking feeling you felt earlier about the whole situation in it's entirety. You felt almost like you wanted to back out but you didn't want to tell Nanami that. Plus, never being able to touch anything again without burning it? You couldn't fathom it.
"The scroll is the closest thing we could find of any information that matches your technique. Right now, all we know is that your cursed energy manifests in your hands through the markings that presented themselves. We'll know more after a couple days when you're fully healed but until then that's all we know."
Laying in that bed you began to feel slightly depressed about the whole situation. You had this special technique, but what did it cost? You did enjoy the school so far. You found Itadori, Megumi, and Nobara nice.. Your teachers Nanami and Gojo were also kinder than some teachers you had encountered in your early years and more handsome as well... but the reality of this was seriously weighing on you. Enough to make tears form in your eyes. Betraying your calm demeanor.
"Namami.. Is it...Always like this?" You asked in almost a whisper. Feeling yourself become overcome with emotion.
Sighing Nanami crossed his legs and straightened out his posture clearly uncomfortable. "This is our job. I will tell you this, it wasn't anyone's intention to put you in a position to fight with a curse of that grade. You were suppose to gradually encounter curses more your strength and kind of graduate to different curse levels until your technique was harnessed enough to fight a curse at the strength of the one we encountered." Nodding you took in Nanami's words your cheeks still silently streaming with tears.
"I won't lie to you. It doesn't get better. There will be failures. There will be deaths. Probably of people you grow to care for. This job isn't luxurious. It's what we do. Sometimes I think all of us are half crazy for just staying, but we stay."
"But why?" You questioned. The hot tears falling from your face now softly hitting the blanket that encased you.
"Because we can, because if we don't chaos will break loose. More Deaths, More curses. To live in a world full of curses destroying people everyday. It's literally living in hell. We fight. We win. We fight. We lose. That our job. We all have our reasons for staying individually, but that is really the core. We have abilities no ordinary human has. We're the unsung heroes. We'll never get the appreciation we deserve or the luxury of a normal life. That's gone. We have this life, so we enjoy it, Fight for it and make it worth it.
Nanami ran his hand through his hair now noticing you softly crying. A twinge of guilt ran through him. As much as he understood the job, and what it costed. He still felt bad for you. Maybe it's because your first experience and this was were so opposite. Seeing a small creature in your home was one thing. Looking death in the face was another entirely. He wasn't even sure what he would think in your position. A fresh face immediately getting thrown to the wolves. Though it wasn't his intention he knew the whole experience shook you and he concluded that this experience alone would probably make you rethink everything you felt before about staying here. The least he could do as your Sensei was try to level with you, so reluctantly he began to share.
"I left...once."
"You did?" Wiping away tears and blinking surprised. Nanami left being a sorcerer? He seemed so confident about the job and almost perfect at it. You didn't think you'd hear these words coming from him.
"I did, I worked as a salary man for a while. I didn't want the pain, I didn't want the deaths. I wanted somewhat of a normal life. But my mind always wandered back to this place." Staring off into space he continued. "I came back when I realized something. That work was shit. I hated it and I realized I could never really leave this life behind, as much as this work is shit as well. I was better at this. Besides, everywhere I went I saw curses. At the café, at the grocery store, everywhere. It was always there reminding me of here. So I came back. Of course, Not without Gojo's annoying "I told you so." attitude that followed me for months after I joined back and still occasionally does. But I think Y/N , if you're planning on leaving before you've truly understood what you can do. You'll regret it. Either by running into a curse you can't handle randomly or just the thought of never knowing. We all maybe a bit crazy but wallowing in that can make you truly mad."
Nanami's words sunk into you. You knew deep down he was right, but the whole experience still felt like so much..
"You're right. I know you are..." you trailed off. "But... I'm scared. I didn't want to die. I don't want to die. I wanted to be a hero."
"I'll let you in on a secret Y/n. We're all scared, and none of us want to die. It just comes with the job. That's why when we first picked you up, I told you to focus on your training. You may think you're failing. But failing still gives you knowledge. It's better to fail at the training grounds, then fail by dying or causing someone you care for to die due to recklessness. I stand by what I said earlier. You did good for the situation. It's my recklessness that caused this and it won't happen again. Until your ready and we can understand your technique better we'll take it slow. So again, I'm sorry Y/n. I know what you're thinking. You're scared but take my words to heart. I think you're capable of more than you realize. This whole situation although not the most ideal, showed you that you can survive. I think that's the most important point I can make here. You have it in you, don't give up so easily."
It was up to you now. Nanami wondered if you really would take his words to heart. He of course felt guilty about the situation. He let Gojo ruse him into thinking that whole thing was authorized even with the concerns he had before he decided to follow through with it, he definitely had some questions for him later but right now this situation needed mending and he did all he could do for now to encourage you to go on with your training.
"Thank you..." you whispered. "I know that this whole thing was meant.. to teach me but still.. I don't blame anyone for this. Just, give me a bit okay? I need to just figure all of this out.."
Nodding Nanami stood from the chair and made his way towards the door. "Take your time, Shoko will be back in a while to look you over and change your bandages. In a few days when you're better we'll see what we can learn about your hands. Take care Y/n."
As Nanami left the room, your chest heaved from the weight of everything. The situation, everything Nanami had said. You didn't want to go on. You wanted to just grab your things and leave, but the words Nanami said replayed through your ears. The curses would never leave. You'd always be reminded. It seemed like you really had no choice. You had to stay and if you had to stay, You might as well try to get stronger. Strong enough to never let this happen again. Strong enough to not be scared anymore. That's when you told yourself. I'll be the strongest. I wont fail like this again.
================================================
After almost another whole week in the infirmary you were released. Puncture scars from the curse now donned your arms and the bandages on your hands Shoko removed with the utmost caution with Gojo and Nanami watching from the other side of the room. "Here goes nothing." Shoko quickly undid the bandages, carefully as to avoid coming into direct contact with your skin. Gazing at your bare skin you noticed the new black markings that donned on them.
Gojo was the first to come over to examine them, Nanami cautiously following behind him. "Let me, I'm the strongest." Gojo smiled proudly then leaned over you, almost a little too close for comfort in your opinion but slowly inched his fingertips to your markings. As he came close to your skin you felt a strange sensation which caused Gojo to still, then place his fingers on your palm.
"She's not deadly. What a relief!" Gojo exclaimed loudly. Then gave you a downward high five. "Seems like it's a mental trigger. It's all in your mind." He pointed to your brain.
"See Nanami my pressure test theory worked." Gojo stuck out his tongue and you couldn't help but laugh at the sheer craziness of it all. Though it was good to know you didn't have to cover your hands for the rest of your life or anything which is what you feared during the time you had your bandages on. Wearing mittens forever. You shuttered. Especially in the hot summers of Japan.
"Does it hurt?" Nanami took notice of you shutter and you smiled lightly.
"Oh no, I'm just happy I don't have to wear mittens in the summer now. I was a little afraid of that." you admitted embarrassingly.
Gojo laughed out loud. "See she's not gonna leave she's definitely one of us. Who else thinks of things like that after almost dying?" You laughed too, even Shoko gave a soft smile and you a second you though you saw Nanami smile too.
"Welp, I'll tell you what." Gojo clapped his hands together. "This calls for..."
"Don't say another field trip." You whined.
"Not in your dreams. I'm in so much trouble from the higher ups for sending you on that mission. It was only suppose to be Nanami but I left that part out." He shrugged and gave you a big smile.
You saw Nanami stiffen to Gojo's admission. "Gojo.." He muttered angrily.
"Relax she's alive, we now know her technique. It's all good. Now, as I as saying. Let's get sushi to celebrate tomorrow night! I'll get Megumi, Nobara, And Itadori to come it'll be great. Show your battle scars, talk about how Nanami is slow, and show everyone your new eh....tattoos!" Grabbing your hands and giving you another cheerful smile.
Sushi.. Now that sounded good. You couldn't lie. You wanted to see everyone again and in making the decision to stay, you realized this was going to be your life now and you were going to try to make it worth it.
===============================================
After Shoko gave you the final okay you left towards your dorm room hoping to see your fellow classmates on the way. Leaving Gojo, Shoko, and Nanami alone. Nanami and Gojo leaned up against adjacent walls while Shoko took over disposing on the leftover bandages.
"We still don't know enough, is this okay?" Nanami questioned clearly unconvinced that the situation was as light as Gojo had made it out to be earlier.
"She didn't hurt me. It has to be something triggered under pressure. Now that these markings have presented themselves. She'll probably be able to use it more. I can't see or feel the Miasma anymore. All that cursed energy that was around her. She forced it into her hands unknowingly to get the curse off of her. Maybe it just all needed a place to go and she finally chose where to harness it all." Gojo tapped his finger against this chin in thought, then shrugged.
"Either way, If she happens to come under some anxiety and something happens, we'll just give her those mittens she was complaining about." Shoko couldn't help but chuckle.
"I think she'll be fine Kento. She seems like she can endure anyway and worse comes to worse. They do sell some cute mittens these days." Gojo patted Shoko's shoulder excitedly. "Exactly. Everything will be fine."
Although Gojo was as confident about the situation as ever he did feel a tiiiiiiiiiny bit bad putting you in harms way but at least everything was coming to light and you were still alive. All wins in his book. Though he supposed it would be nice to try to get you something. Not like he needed to say sorry or anything. More so a I'm happy your not dead present. That's when he stopped dead in his thoughts. He barely knew you and he was happy you weren't dead even so much that he was contemplating getting you something for it. Must be the guilt? He shrugged tried not to think too much of it.
"Something wrong Gojo?" Nanami seemed to notice Gojo's sudden quiet.
"Eh. Nothing, Just thinking about what sushi place to go to for tomorrow." Gojo tried to stride passed Nanami only for Nanami to hold out his arm to stop him from leaving.
"Gojo.. I don't think I need to say this... but never leave that information out again. If I'm to go alone, I go alone. The only reason I went along with this was because you said it was authorized. My mistake for listening to you but still.... It was... too close." Nanami warned.
"Relax, I learned my lesson." Gojo dipped under Nanami's arm and trotted away. Exiting the situation before being scolded more. Nanami sighed and Shoko made her way to the exit as well.
"Kento, Let it go. I don't think he's gonna play that card again anytime soon." She patted his chest and left. Leaving Nanami who still was consumed in his thoughts. He was concerned but decided to just see where the situation went. You forgave his error but for some reason he still felt a bit guilty. The whole situation was messy and not something that under normal circumstances would happen to a student under his watch. He felt responsible and a little stupid letting Gojo trick him like that. He should have known better than to believe the higher ups would authorize something like this. But in a way maybe it was his own curiosity too. Guilt rising in him, he thought to himself, Maybe I should get her something, as a small apology. That at least would make me feel better for falling for Gojo's plot. Sighing Nanami exited trying to think of what to get for you.

To my adorablest idiot,
//पर ये सब सोचना
दिल को यूँ खोलना
सब कुछ कह कर ही
सब को बताना ज़रूरी है क्या?//
I've always wanted to tell you so so so many things but...........i just.....couldn't. Maybe Because idk how to entangle this tangled mess of thoughts in my head and say them out loud as words that make any sense. Because i feel like it won't ever make sense to you. It has never to anyone before.
//अक्सर तुमसे मिलकर मुझको
घर सा लगता है।
फिर क्यों दिल ही दिल में
कोई डर सा लगता है।//
Or maybe bcz I'm an insecure coward. And I'm afraid of being perceived. By my own home.  I thought I should let it all out thoda toh bcz it was getting too much to hold in. I know you'll call me stupid. You'll tell me to stop thinking itna. But trust me i want to stop too. I so desperately want to. But i just.......can't.
i sometimes wish you could read my thoughts. So that you'd know how much i love you and how much you and everything you do and say mean to me and how I'm always resisting the urge to kiss you lol. But then i think no. He won't be able to withstand all the darkness in there. He'd get lost. It'd be too much for him. It'll consume him and he'll never be the same. Keep it to yourself please.
But on the other hand i still so desperately want you to reach to those dark cracks of my mind and heart. And plant the seeds of your love and reassurance. And water them with your firmness. And make them bloom into the most beautiful flowers, being the absolute sunshine you are, sunshine.
I know. It's all tedious work. But news flash. Loving someone like me is never easy. You ask me if i'm alright atleast 20 times a day, don't you? Or when I'm staring at you and you say What? And what is my answer everytime? Nothing.
I want to say everything. But everything sounds like a lot doesn't it? And then how'd i explain it to you if you ask kya everything?
Girls like me are not easy to love. We feel everything so very deeply that it consumes us whole at times. We need constant reminding that you love us. Because even the tiniest slightest change in your behaviour would make us think we did something wrong.
i often feel excluded from everything but it's mostly my fault because i distance myself because i think i'm annoying. Then i feel lonely. And soon enough the whole world comes crashing down. And this wave of sadness makes it feel like all friends are annoying, everything is loud, and I'm contemplating why I even exist. This restlessness took so much away from me, sometimes I wish it would have taken my life as well.
I'm jealous of those who can function like a normal human being. They don't have anxiety holding them back from everything, they don't struggle to get out of bed or have to put on an act that everything is fine when its not. They don't struggle to hold friendships and relationships... they don't feel sad for no fucking reason everyday. Those that can manage pdhai and work towards their dreams, the ones who have self esteem and see the beauty in themselves. Those that know what its like to feel safe and secure, not insecure and fearful of it all.
I wonder how do you tell people? How do you tell them that you're exhausted even though you slept for 8 hours? How do you tell them that you need a break from talking and smiling and simply being near them? How do you tell them that you too are human and can make mistakes and can be a failure sometimes? Bc when the heck will this burn out leave me
i'm trying not to make it sound like a plea or an apology, but it should be one right?
//तू होगा ज़रा पागल
तूने मुझको है चुना।//
Aaj when i said that thing about jumping off that flyover on my way back home or when i told you I'll be going away after 11th ends, tujhe kuch sunai nahi diya hoga but my heart shattered into a thousand little pieces. To see how disheartened and concerned and tensed you were. I then went to the washroom and broke down thoda because the feeling of being an unlovable burden worsened all of a sudden. I was also kinda overwhelmed by how much you cared and the guilt of concerning you itna. Because never in my wildest dreams did I imagine ki someone'd ever love me aise. But then i came back and saw your stupid pyaara face and everything felt good again. I'm sorry. For concerning you like that.
Aur sun. Though I may seem at times somewhat distant from you, through the gray mist of my own thoughts and storms, I am never far. my thoughts always circle around you ok? I love you hehe
Yours,
Nishu.

Short FNAF 3 AU One-Shot: “Trying to Negotiate”
Got inspired by this reply to one of my posts so much, that I had to write something.
And, to be clear, the name I am using for one of the characters is a code name. It’s not the actual name of said character.
Staticky rambles pierced one of Patty’s eardrums. If she wasn’t driving, then she would have fussed at this surfer man to calm down. Just because she was older than a lot of the staff in this horror attraction did not mean that he could yell so loudly. Not only was it hurting her hearing, but it was also clearly going to ensure him losing his voice for a week. A shame that this had to bother one of the most laidback people she’s ever met.
Thankfully, the sight of her car pulling into the parking lot seemed to calm him down. She waved at the disheveled man before pulling into one of the main empty spaces. Once settled in, she hung up her phone and exited the vehicle. “Nothing’s caught fire, which is a good start,” she noted as she walked up to him. “I guess the only concern now is this whole animatronic business.”
The man nodded rapidly, then pointed to the front of the building. “They’re in the first room to your right,” he explained with a tremor not befitting his casual tone. “I guess you’ll talk to that bot while I get something for Mike?”
“That sounds like a good start,” Patty agreed calmly. “I was a great negotiator, as far as my husband was concerned. I got us out of many... risky situations. I’m sure this is no different. Goodbye for now, Mr. ‘Dude’.”
Confident in her abilities, she strolled to the door and shoved it open. The mustiness of the air made her cough into her sleeve, but no one took advantage of the sound. In fact, whatever noise was there before she arrived plummeted into silence. When she opened her eyes, there was a dark, narrow hall with a wide-open door lighting her way. Her heart thumped. This was just like one of those newer horror movies from the 80s. Which meant, as she got closer to the “danger room”, her internal monologue shifted from rehearsing her ‘let the boy go’ speech to excitedly wondering about what terrifying monster could be lurking behind that opening. The obvious answer was a haunted animatronic, yes, but what kind was it? A custom-made one fit for this attraction? A retrofitted one covered in mold and grime from all the years of entertaining folks both young and old? Or, miracles of miracles, was it a suit she helped tailor for?
The sound of something scraping the linoleum tiles jolted her out of her speculation. Half-thankful for the reminder, she peered into the office. She let out a gasp straight away, alerting the attention of the man crouching on the desk. “Mrs. Thomas, what are you doing here!?” he cried out. “You could get hurt!”
“I appreciate your politeness, Mike, but you can just call me ‘Patty’,” Patty scoffed as she properly entered into the room. “Same goes for your ‘friend’, if he ever decides to join us. Now, how’s about I get you down before you hurt yourself?”
Reluctantly, Mike gave her his arm and gingerly jumps off the table. On instinct, Patty grabbed him tight and spun him back down to earth. Both looked at each other with wide eyes. “Sorry,” Patty apologized simply. “That was a move I learned in my younger years. A bit of choreography from the silver screen.”
Mike opened his mouth to ask something, then stops. He looked past her shoulder. The scraping started again, making his blood run cold. “How’s about we trade stories outside?” he asked her with a wide, shaky grin. “I talk about my night of peril while you regale me with your years of stardom. What could be better than that?”
Patty crossed her arms and turned away. “A chance to talk with this ‘monster’ you’ve been fighting, for one thing,” she huffed. “I drove all this way to see what everyone’s been afraid of, and I’m not going until I do.” She opened one eye, then looked back at Mike. “Not that you don’t matter, of course,” she added sheepishly. “I just mean that, now that I know you’re as safe as you can be—“
Three light taps on the desk alerted both Mike and Patty. Mike put a hand to his face and walked a few steps away while Patty gawked at the source of the noise. A towering, rabbit-like monster of mucky faux-fur and gnarled reddish bits sat in a buckling office chair. Its glowing white eyes met hers, then glanced back at the current state of the chair. Though doing its best to remain intimidating, the nervous posture it took after getting out of that seat was definitely noticeable. Thankfully, it did little to change the fact that this was a marred and “zombified” version of a rabbit she once knew. A very dangerous one when cornered, most likely.
Needless to say, Patty’s heart was thumping. “So, you’re the one who’s been messing with Mike?” she asked, brushing back a strand of loose hair as she stepped forward.
The rabbit tilted its head one way, then the other. Then, its good ear raised along with its eyelids. It nodded rapidly, as if her voice had now fully interested him.
“And you’ve also got a reputation of wrecking cameras and causing havoc, correct?”
The rabbit drew himself up proudly. That was him, all right.
Patty’s face flushed. “W-Well, as much as I’d like to congratulate you for being a very nice addition to the scare factor of this place,” she stammered out, using the other side of the desk for support, “I’m afraid I can’t let you keep toying with this poor boy.”
A roll of the eyes from the rabbit. Oh, please. What could she possibly say to convince him? He was Springtrap! The immortal fusion of man, “rabbit”, and machine! Sure, it hurt to move anything other than his eyes most of the time, but what did that matter? He was free to haunt this place whenever he could! He could even reach over and smack the back of her head to prove himself, if he wanted to! Why, he could—
“..Which is why I’m going to take his place, if the manager will let me.”
Why, he could practically let his soul fly out of this robotic body just to simulate the absolutely overwhelming sensation she just gave him.
Fortunately for him, Mike took the words right out of his mouth. “I’m sorry!?” he exclaimed, thrusting his hands from his head to the ground. “Did you seriously just volunteer to work my shift!?”
Patty shot a stern glare at Mike. “I said exactly what I meant,” she replied solemnly. “Let me put it this way: you get to recover from all the madcap things this rabbit’s done to you, I finally get to experience what it’s like to be in a proper horror movie, and Mr. Bonnie here will get to have a new playmate.”
“His name’s ‘Springtrap’, but that’s besides the point,” Mike grumbled, fighting the urge to ram his head into the nearby wall. “Patty, you have no idea who you’re up against. He can climb through vents that go straight to this office, he can outsmart any trick you try with that audio system, or he could even skip all that and try some new tactic I’m not even aware of!”
“Mr. Schmidt, are you warning me or convincing me even more?” Patty asked in a straightforward tone. “Because it honestly sounds like you’re doing the latter.”
Springtrap, meanwhile, had given up looking intimidating and settled for burying his head in his hands. She did not just imply that she wanted to be plagued by his stupid antics for six hours straight. All while sitting in a chair due to some dumb protocol and repairing the faulty systems, no less. There was no way a woman of her age (along with her gracefully-aged figure and beauty, which he definitely wasn’t afraid of tarnishing) could withstand that for a five nights, let alone full week. It would be downright disgraceful for everyone involved.
However, as his throat dared not let him articulate any of these thoughts, Springtrap just lowered his hands and firmly shook his head.
Patty sighed and lowered her head. “Is there any way I can prove to you that I’m capable?” she asked the rabbit dismally. “Because I’m not going to accept your terms until I know that I’m not cut out for this.”
Springtrap slumped. His ears drooped. Well, she did come this far. And she has stayed in this room for more than a few minutes now. His eyes scanned the room for anything that could be of good use. Out of habit, he scratched the back of his padded head. His eyelids raised. Wait a minute. Of.. course...?
Timidly, he waved his hand in front of Patty’s face. Then, when he had got her attention, he pointed to the side of his head.
“Do you want me to lift that mask up for you?” Patty asked, more curious than anything.
Springtrap nodded hesitantly. This was either going to end with her dying of fright or him actually running away in fear for once. He could feel it. However, as this was the only way to prove her courage, he tried to brush away his fear as he leaned towards her.
Patty returned his anxious movements with a gentle smile. “I’m sure what’s underneath is nothing as bad as some of the effects in that one The Immortal and The Restless special,” she joked as she lightly undid the clasps around the seam of his jaw. “Honestly, what were they—?”
Stunned silence cut her question off. Instead of a metal plate with glass eyes and uneven teeth that was typically under the robot heads, her eyes were met with a more appalling sight. A muddy reddish skull (or was it a death’s head?) with two pale eyes shared the same gaping expression of terror. The eyes darted from her to the surrounding area, as if trying to distract itself from the sheer vulnerability it just put itself in. The hollow yet frantic breathing confirmed this idea, causing Patty to flick the mask back into place. Wordlessly, she redid the clasps and retreated a step.
Springtrap also backed away from the desk. His mind reeled as he turned away from her. How... How was she not dead? Better yet, how was she not running out the door while screaming for dear life? Yes, she clearly had a thrill for anything horrific like vampires or the more traditional ghosts. But he was nothing like that. He was much, much worse.
And yet, there she was. Tiptoeing towards him as if she was the one who scared him and not the other way around. “I should probably leave you here to recover,” he could hear her say gently. “Sorry about being so intrusive, by the by. I had no idea–“
Springtrap put a finger to her lips, then tilted his head towards Mike. Never mind the apologies. It was all his fault anyway.

Toga.. that's me. Chapter 3 - Passion Store in My Knife
As the chocolate had started to melt, Toga had to remind Izuku to start eating it again so it wouldn’t become mushy and not good to eat. “Sorry!! I’ll eat it. I guess I just.. I’m still worried about you..!” Toga nodded, “I’m okay.. Like I said, just feeling a little bit sick..” She replied. Izuku nodded, frowning “Well, I guess it just seems like it’s.. More than that..! I-I’m sorry I shouldn’t pry though!” He apologized, waving his hands around a bit embarrassed before finally taking a bite of the chocolate. It was good, and he finished the whole thing in a couple of minutes. “Thank you again..!” He said and Toga smiled, “Of course! It’s my treat!” She exclaimed before a waiter came up to their table. “What can I get you?” They asked.
“Give us a minute to order!” Toga explained and then picked up a menu as well as Izuku. Izuku could feel the waiter's eyes on them, he was probably assuming they were a couple right now. “Should I tell him it’s not like that- No then she’ll think I assumed that and well- I- Crap I don’t know, WHY AM I EVEN THINKING ABOUT THIS!” He thought his face turning redder by the second. “Are you alright sir?” The waiter asked, “I’m um.. I’m fine- It’s just hot in here!” He said, attempting to explain his embarrassment. Toga giggled, “It’s fine!” She said, smiling a big smile and then looking at him.
He was gorgeous.. He was so so pretty, and beautiful, and strong.. And so many other words that she couldn’t pin down. The way he held himself was pretty, and the way he used that quirk of his, and the way he asked if everyone was okay and yet analyzed their every move. He was stunning.. “He’s so pretty..” Toga daydreamed as Izuku continued to explain himself to the waiter. “He’d look.. He’d look prettier bloody..” She thought, reaching down into her UA pocket for the dagger that normally would have been there but wasn’t. She always had bizarre thoughts like that, thoughts about people bleeding, thoughts about people right before she stabbed them. “Right.. I’m her right now..” She remembered.
“It’s fine sir really!” The waiter chuckled, “We can turn the temperature down if it’s bothering you that much!” He gestured towards the thermostat in the corner. “N-no I just-” He sighed very much embarrassed. “Give me a minute to look at the menu..” He trailed off trying his best to shrink into the corner and pretend he was a part of the wall. “Look what you got yourself into..” He thought, before finally looking at the menu.
That’s when Ochako finally made it down to the dorm commons. “Seems everyone is asleep..” She observed, before seeing Iida sitting on the couch with his nose in a book. “Well, except our class rep.” She thought, deciding to check on him as well. “Um.. hey Iida!” She said, tapping on his shoulder. Iida perked up, put a bookmark in his book, and then looked at her. “Hello Uraraka! Did you need anything?” He asked before noting the time and frowning, “We should both probably be heading to sleep right about now.” Ochako sighed, “I was just wondering if you’d seen um..” She blushed, “Deku?” Iida smiled, “Midoriya? Oh no I haven’t seen him for a while. Not since he headed out to train.” His expression shifted, “I hope he’s not overworking himself..” Ochako nodded in agreement.
“Oh.. well thank you! Are you doing alright?” she asked and Iida nodded. “I’m reading a book that came out recently! It’s called, ‘The blood was warm. I like that.’ I know it sounds like a quite violent title, but I heard from Ashido that I should check it out!” Ochako thought that sounded interesting and smiled, “I’m glad you found something you might like!” She exclaimed before turning her attention back to what she was actually here for. “Anyways, I’m going to go see where Deku is now..!” She explained and Iida nodded. “I can go with y-” BOOM. The dorm doors swung open and in walked Bakugou with some groceries and an annoyed look on his face. Iida put his book down and waved his hands, “Bakugou how many times have I told you not to come into the dorms in such a loud fashion!! Especially at this time of night! Our classmates are trying to get their much needed rest and you-”
“Will you shut up?!” Bakugou interrupted him. “Jeez.” He sighed, closing the door behind him and walking in, Iida’s annoyed commentary following him. After setting his groceries down on the table by the couch he looked at Ochako. “What happened to the thing with Deku? I know you were denying it, where is he?” He asked, serious. Ochako flushed before frowning remembering what she was doing. “Stop joking with me, this isn’t funny!” She exclaimed, crossing her arms. Bakugou scowled, “You, stop joking with me!” He said and Iida finally stopped his chastising and looked at them both, “Is something going on between you two?” He asked, pushing up his glasses so he could see better.
Bakugou looked at Iida, “It may not be any of your business, but maybe you can sort this out.” He sighed. “I was at the corner store maybe 45-50 minutes ago. And I walk in and pink cheeks is buying chocolate saying it’s for the nerd. She skips off and low and behold I come back and Deku’s gone and she’s denying she even went there!” Ochako frowned. “Because I didn’t!! I’ve been in my dorm for the last couple of hours sleeping! I really don’t know what’s going on Bakugou, please stop messing with me!” Iida looked at them both, neither seemed to be lying and were going to continue defending their point. “Well one of you has to be correct.” Iida said, “Or maybe you both are.” He pointed out and Bakugou lifted an eyebrow, “How the heck can we both be right?” He asked and Iida shook his head. “We can ask Midoriya, and if you really want to find out, ask the store clerk. However, that may be pushing boundaries just a slight bit.” He explained. “I guess.. That would work! Deku wouldn’t lie!” Ochako said and Bakugou scowled. “Fine, I’ll prove you wrong.” He said. Iida rubbed the bridge of his nose and picked up his book. “Let’s make this quick so we can all go to bed. We need to track down Midoriya anyway he needs to sleep too.”
That’s when they started to walk out the doors leaving Bakugou’s groceries appealingly on the counter. “Let’s make this fast.” Bakugou said, reinforcing Iida’s point and so they all walked over to Izuku’s usual training spot. “He’s not here!” Ochako exclaimed, “See I’m right!” Bakugou glared at her, “That doesn’t prove anything.” she said. Why was he so adamant about this anyway? It was just some chocolate after all. But it was more than that. It was his gut, his gut feeling that the Ochako he was talking to now was different from the “Ochako” he had talked to earlier. He wasn’t going to let something bothering him like that slip. So, after a little bit of arguing, Iida got them to agree to go to the corner store, and explained that Izuku was probably being smart and going inside to rest. “If he’s sleeping I don’t want to knock on his dorm.” He explained, but Bakugou shook his head. “He doesn’t need the sleep.”
Iida sighed tired of the constant bickering. “We’ll figure this out you two just take some deep breaths.” Ochako nodded and breathed, Bakugou practically snorted and then they kept walking. “This is going to be a long night..” Iida thought, and he was right.
Meanwhile, Izuku had calmed himself and they both ended up ordering a normal ramen with water. Something simple and cheap. That was like Ochako, cheap, simple, and genuine. Toga smiled, “How do you like it Deku-kun?” She asked, taking another bite of her ramen. “It’s good, thank you!” He replied looking at her, he was starting to forget his discomfort. “We should do this more often!” She offered and Izuku flushed. “Me? Me and her? ME AND HER TOGETHER MORE OFTEN OH MY GOSH!?” He thought and turned bright red again.
“He’s adorable.” She thought and her smile creeped into a more obsessive gaze. “I love the way he looks when he’s embarrassed. I love the way he looks when he’s doing anything.” She leaned closer to him, over the table, the vial in her pocket swirling around like her heart was. “I love him.” She giggled not realizing just how close she was getting to him. Just how much she was staring at him. Just how much she was breaking her persona and the lies were trickling through.
Izuku noticed, “U-uraraka?” He asked, at first blushing thinking that she was joking with him. But she didn’t stop, she had become entranced and she stood up and walked over to his side of the table. “Izuku..” She trailed off, unaware of her trance. Izuku’s heart fell to his stomach. But not in love, something was off. This.. this was a villain it had to be.
He’d seen that gaze before somewhere but where could it- Snap. Toga was out of her trance and she frowned quickly feeling the fear rise in her chest. “I-I’m sorry..!” She exclaimed trying to come up with some lie to justify this. “I..I don’t know what came over me I..” She rambled worrying that her secret would soon come to light. “E-excuse me for a second..!” She said and ran to the restroom shutting the door and locking it. Had she ruined it..? Was her passion and love for him not good enough? Why couldn’t he want her..?
She looked at the mirror in the bathroom and saw the brunette looking back at her. It made her angry to see Ochako’s face. Her beautiful horrendous face. The vial in her pocket moved around and she wanted to reach for her knife. She wanted to stab Ochako so bad. Watch her plead for her mercy and then never see her again. Because she was so.. She was so jealous! Why couldn’t she have everything Ochako had? WHY!? Passion for her love and hate for Ochako built up in her chest and without thinking she punched the reflection in the mirror.
Crack.. This date was falling apart. And she hadn’t even gotten to stab her yet..

Rejecting you and regretting it
genre: angst to fluff
warnings: slight cursing, rude behavior (resolved), do message me if I forgot any.
ft. sakusa kiyoomi, tsukishima kei
Tumblr media
Sakusa Kiyoomi
you're not oblivious to the fact that kiyoomi is a very conscious person
that's one of the things you loved about him
he was hygienic and he always made sure that his health was his utmost priority
but one downside is that kiyoomi had the tendency to push people away because of his straightforwardness
you were used to it and in fact, you were one of those people he tolerated
but everyone has their bad days
and unfortunately for you, today was kiyoomi's and since you were always attached to him by the hip, he unintentionally snapped at you
what's worse is that he snapped at you the moment you confessed to him
"Omi!" you shouted happily as you entered the gymnasium, giving Komori a small wave before making your way to where Kiyoomi was sitting.
He looked at you with a frown. He wasn't wearing a mask since they were training awhile ago and only took a quick break. "Y/n, what are you doing here?"
You sat beside him making Kiyoomi grimace and slightly move away. You frowned at him, completely displeased at the action. "I just wanted to give you a visit. Plus, I have something to tell you."
You started to fiddle with your fingers nervously. You practiced your confession several times already but doing it seemed harder than you thought.
"What is it? Talk, I'm not in the right mood to socialize right now."
Out of panic, you quickly blurted out a rather loud, "I like you!" You immediately covered your mouth with your hand and stared at him wide eyed.
The other players looked at you with sympathy, knowing what's about to happen. Out of all days, you really had to confess today, when Kiyoomi was in a pissy mood after several fangirls pushed themselves against him this morning, not minding his personal space.
Kiyoomi stared at you with a serious expression before standing up. "I don't like you. Leave."
"But Omi.."
"You're irritating and you always bother me when it is clear that I don't want your company." He turned around and left you on the bench, your head casted down in humiliation.
You whispered a small sorry before running out of the gym with tears falling from your eyes.
For the next few days, you did your very best to stay away from Kiyoomi. You changed your route to school knowing that your usual route meant that you have to pass by his house. Even if you got scolded several times for being late, you did not stop.
You sat near the door so you can easily exit the room after class. You even stopped eating with Komori and Kiyoomi during breaks and lunch. Even your usual routine of visiting the gym during practices was stopped.
At first, Kiyoomi didn't mind. He knew that you'd come back in a few days just like you always did. You like him after all, right?
But when a few days turned into weeks, He started getting bothered. Why weren't you pestering him like always? Why did you stop visiting him? You said you like him, right?
It was the second week that Kiyoomi took action. He woke up extra early to wait for you infront of your house, aiming to confront you about your behavior.
When you went out, your eyes widened slightly upon seeing Kiyoomi waiting for you outside. He was wearing his face mask while staring at you intently, letting you know that he purposely waited for you.
You looked down and was about to walk pass him when you felt him tugging on your wrist. Your gaze snapped to his hand, not believing that he was indeed touching your skin.
"Sakusa?"
His eye twitched at the weirdness of you not calling him like usual. Sighing, he stepped a little closer to you, hand still holding your wrist to ensure that you won't run away from him.
"You're ignoring me," he said while eyeing you. "Why?"
You took your hand from him and furrowed your brows. "I'm just doing you a favor. I don't want to be a bother anymore. Isn't this what you wanted?"
"I-"
"It's fine, Sakusa. You don't have to force yourself to apologize just because you feel bad or obliged to."
He ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. "I'm not apologizing because I feel bad."
"Then what? You're apologizing just to make fun of me? I know I said I like you but that doesn't mean that you have the right to-"
"You don't get it!"
At this point, you were both raising your voices. Some passersby were looking at you two weirdly, some even running as to not get caught up in the fight.
"Get what, Sakusa? Why don't you tell me so I can understand?!"
"I like you!" Kiyoomi exclaimed. "I... Fuck. I like you, okay? I wasn't in the mood when you confessed and I rejected you without thinking. I messed up. The moment I saw you walk out, I knew I fucked up real bad and I-"
"Om-"
"And I thought that you'd come back the next day to bother me again like usual. I wanted to apologize but my pride-"
You sighed as he continued to ramble. With fast movements, you stood on your tiptoes and encircled your arms around his neck to pull him down to you, kissing him over his mask.
When you let go, Kiyoomi was silent. His eyes were wide and you thought that you went over board. Panic made its way to your face as you try to find the words to explain.
"Sorry, I didn't me-"
This time, he was the one to cut you off. Kiyoomi took off his mask and bent down to kiss you on your lips. One of his arms snaked around your waist to support you while the other settled on your nape, angling you to him.
"Be my s/o."

Tsukishima Kei
Everyone in Karasuno knew how much you like Tsukishima
In fact, you remind him everyday
You often give him fresh strawberries from the market and even bake him strawberry cake
Sometimes, you would put little sticky notes on his belongings and write some encouraging words like "you can do it", "I believe in you" or "take it easy!"
On his birthday, you even gave him a hoodie with a dino design (which he secretly loved)
There are times that you knew Tsukishima gets irritated when you visit and even snaps at you but you didn't mind. You liked him and a small snap will not discourage you
But what you didn't know was that it would only take one conversation to completely shatter your heart
"-And they're back," Sugawara said as he saw you enter the gym, a bubbly smile present on your face as usual.
"Kei!" You skipped your way towards Tsukishima and handed him his water bottle which you voluntarily refilled with hot water.
He only gave you a 'tsk' and took the water bottle. Adjusting his glasses, he stared at you from head to toe as if analyzing you, a small blush appearing on his cheeks.
"What are you looking at? Have you finally come to realize that you like me back?" you cheekily asked, poking his bicep.
"No. I was just wondering how someone could look so ugly."
Despite what he said, you forced yourself to giggle, covering your upset feeling with an eye roll. "Oh shut up, Kei. You don't have to hide it, you know? Don't worry, I'm not going to reject you."
You winked at him causing Tsukishima to blush even more.
The rest of the boys snickered and laughed at his reaction which made Tsukishima more embarrassed than he already is.
"Just confess to the girl already, Tsukishima. Can't you see she's trying hard to win you?" Daichi said with a small chuckle while patting Tsukishima's back.
Tsukishima just huffed and pushed his glasses up. "What's there to like? They're nothing but an eyesore anyway."
"What?" you asked in disbelief.
Having a playful banter with Tsukishima was normal in your routine but this was the first time he called you such an offensive term. Does he really think of you that way?
"Oh come on, stop acting dumb. I don't even get why there are guys running after you. I mean, there's really nothing much to look at, right?"
Everyone grew quiet at what he said, clearly not expecting Tsukishima to be at such level of rudeness.
You swallowed the lump forming in your throat as your insecurity skyrocketed. "I try hard every single day to look presentable to you. I-"
You paused for a moment to laugh pathetically at yourself. "I exert a lot of effort to make you notice me. I cook for you, I give you gifts. Heck, I even stay after class to help clean the gym so that the task would be easier for you and I'm not even asking for anything in return."
Tsukishima glared at you sharply that you immediately felt extremely smaller than him. "I never asked you to do those things for me."
"Can't you at least show me that you care?" You wiped your tears with the back of your hand. "Because I'm slowly getting tired of this push and pull game."
"Don't you get it? I don't like you. Why don't you stop pushing yourself to me and start getting a life, hm?"
"Tsukishima, that's enough!" you heard Daichi yell at him.
"Y/n?" Sugawara was immediately beside you, his hand rubbing circles on your back in attempt to calm you down.
"No-" You lifted your face up to meet Tsukishima's eyes. "I think he's right. I should stop being a nuisance and focus on myself."
"I'll leave you alone. I'm sorry," you said before giving Tsukishima a bow and leaving the gym with everyone's eyes following your figure until the door shut.
Everyone could only look at Tsukishima as he cursed under his breath.
"Shit."
The moment you left the gym, you headed straight to the comfort room to let your tears out. You stared at yourself on the mirror as tears cascaded down your cheeks.
"You're beautiful," you reassured yourself while pointing at your own reflection. "What he said doesn't make you any less. Know your worth."
You wiped your tears and splashed your face with cold water before getting out and heading to class without sparing Tsukishima any glance.
You ignored Tsukishima, stopped visiting the gym and focused on yourself. You even made made friends with some of your classmates that you didn't bother getting associated with last time because you were too focused on capturing the attention of Tsukishima.
Unbeknownst to you, a certain male was eyeing you as you interact with other people. He blamed himself for pushing you away. He didn't talk to you, thinking that you only wanted space for a couple days before bothering him again.
He knew that what he said was out of line and he regret everything he did. He even asked Yamaguchi and the rest of the team for advice but all of them responded with the same answer - apologize and tell you how he feels.
Tsukishima gripped the pen tightly as he watched you laughing at something your classmate said. The said classmate was too close to you and it was obvious that he was trying to flirt with you.
"Tsukki?" Yamaguchi called out. He followed Tsukishima's gaze and sighed. "Why don't you go and talk to them?"
"Tsk. Why would I do that? Can't you see they're enjoying his company?" Tsukishima bitterly said.
"You'll end up losing them if you don't do something about it now. Who knows, they might already be lo-" Yamaguchi stopped as Tsukishima instantly stood up and made his way to where you are.
Taking your wrist, he pulled you towards him, heading out of the classroom.
"Tsukishima, what the hell?!" You tried to resist but his grip on your wrist only tightened.
You gasped as he suddenly stopped, trapping you against a wall with his arms beside your head.
"I'm sorry." Tsukishima closed his eyes, balling his fist as he bowed his head. "I said hurtful words to you and no amount of apology will take those away but I want you to know that I regret every single one of it."
You bit your lower lip as you felt yourself tearing up once again. "Do you really think that I'm ugly? I was hurt, Kei. It's just.."
"I'm sorry." His hand made its way to your cheek, cupping your face while he wiped your tears with his thumb. "You're not ugly."
You shook your head and averted your gaze from him, a sob escaping your lips as you felt yourself falling for him deeper. "Don't. Just stop. I'll accept your apology but please just leave me be. I won't be able to stop my feelings for you if you keep leading me on."
"But I don't want you to stop."
"What?"
"I've fallen for you." He tipped your chin up with his hand making you look at him and you were surprised to see the vulnerability in his features. "Please look at me again, y/n. Keep loving me because I swear that I'll do things different this time. Give me a chance."
You can't help but encircle your arms around him, burrying your face on the side of his neck as you nodded repeatedly. "One chance, Kei."
Tsukishima hugged you tightly, lips pressing on the side of your head. "One chance." He leaned away from you and held your face with his hand, eyes boring to yours admiringly.
"You're beautiful."

Felt like crying, so I came to you, my friend! Mc and Mammon went out shopping, specifically to buy gifts for his brothers, as an apology. When they get back home they are met with hostility. They berate Mammon until Mc screams at them to shut up, then rips into each of them for their treatment of Mammon. Then finishes with "Don't expect Mammon to stay here when he can live with me in the humanworld. I'm done with you. Mammon, lets go, you deserve better, love" and leaves w/ Mammon. Thank you!
You came to me because you felt like crying and that gives me two (2) things to think about. 1.) I'm apparently someone who people see as a tissue? 2.) My angst is just THAT good. Also! Apparently today is rain on Mammon day and I'm here for it not me avoiding my exam to write these things
Warning: uh.... Angst?
Soul-Searching (MAMMON X GN!READER ft. THE BROTHERS)
Tumblr media
“You know, I’m proud of you for suggesting this.” Truly, you were. Mammon was your favorite and you felt for him, but you also completely understood where his brothers came from. At first, it honestly annoyed you as well; the constant stealing, the lying… You tried blaming it on his avatar, but even then it doesn’t explain the lying that comes with it. However, you do realize that it’s a habit and it’s a habit that is hard to fix, so instead of constantly getting onto him like the rest, you tried to understand him a bit more and give him some life advice. So far, you have managed to get Mammon to give back all the things he has recently taken from his brothers, and some of them even got an apology. You’ll be working on how to properly apologize, though, because oof, that was a mess.
And now? Now you managed to take a small trip with him downtown to at least attempt to make things better. Mammon is now, or at least today, using his own money to buy some things that his brothers would be fond of: a new vinyl player for Lucifer (non-cursed), a new Ruri-chan t-shirt for Leviathan, a neck pillow for Satan because lord knows he has some cramps back there with the way he leans over and down to read his books. Then some perfume for Asmodeus that he had been swooning about, a gift card to Beel’s favorite restaurant for the glutton, and a heated blanket for Belphie. You were proud, truly, that Mammon wanted to do this. As a matter of fact, he was the one who suggested it. “Maybe… uh.. I could… ya know… buy somethin’ they like” is what he said. You were just excited and agreed to help.
Now you were going back to the house with a few shopping bags and ice cream almost fully eaten. You paid for the ice cream, as a way to reward Mammon, and you’re sure he’s secretly thanking you for that because some of these items truly did burn a hole into his credit card, which is partially his fault. “Lucifer deserves more than some random vinyl player.” his words, not yours. Also “satan needs one of them neck pillows that massage it, too!” again, his words. So yeah, some money was definitely spent on these items, but… once again, you were proud. “I think they’ll love everything, Mam. They’d be fools if they didn’t.” Hearing you say that made Mammon feel a lot better, honestly, and a small rush of confidence came to the surface “Ya betcha they will! Nothin’ but the best from the Great Mammon!” You just laughed.
However, upon arrival, it was a different sight. As a matter of fact, you barely made it through the door before Beel was grumbling something about Mammon eating his custard, which is true, but it’s just a custard? “MAAMMMOONNN!!” and then there was Lucifer who appeared so fast you wondered if he was even real. He went on a whole rant about how irresponsible Mammon is and how another bill came in the mail that talks about Mammon’s debt. Satan and Belphegor teamed up to show empty hands, which left both you and Mammon confused, but then “do you see anything here? No? That’s because you sold our belongings, Mammon!” Mammon can be lucky that Leviathan was still holed up in his room because he just remembered that he also, at some point in the past, sold one of Levi’s figures. Asmodeus came last and honestly he wasn’t mad, he was just annoyed. “I saw you go through my things, Mammon. Nothing was taken, but it was still so incredibly rude!”
Next followed a screaming match which was basically just Mammon trying to defend himself, trying to show the bags and apologize, but none of them would have it. It irritated you. Yes, they had every right to be mad because personal belongings should stay with their owner(s), but at the same time, they didn’t even give Mammon a chance to explain, especially after he’s been holding the bags up and attempting to apologize. “You’re so stupid, Mammon” “StupidMammon” “so irresponsible. You know better than that. Do you need another time out session, Mammon?” “I can’t believe you’d go through my stuff again!” by now your eyes were twitching and the voices echoing off the walls surely didn’t help your case. One more word and you’d snap, surely, especially since Mammon’s hand is now shaking and you grabbing it did nothing at all. “We would be better off without you.”
Ah yes, there it is. The final straw. The amount of anger boiling inside you right now isn’t even manageable anymore and you’re surprised that Satan, as the Avatar of Wrath, has yet to notice it. “Shut up! Shut up, Shut up, Shut up! All of you!” You yanked Mammon behind you, almost protectively and Belphegor found the need to laugh at it. “Really? You’re going to protect him?” Oh, there. That’s your first victim. “Are you really that dense, Belphegor, or is sleep still clouding your brain cells? That is your brother you’re currently making fun of and I don’t know about you, but I was taught that family sticks together, blood related or by choice. So how about you get your head out of dreamland, take this stupid heated blanket that he bought for you, as an apology, and wake up for a second.” yes, you did throw the bag at him and then you pointed your finger at Beel. You’d regret later on that you’re tearing into him as well because Beel means well at the end of the day, but still, he was also part of this.
“You’re my least worry, Beel. Honestly you’re too caught up in your burgers and brawns to care for a second that your brother tries very hard to be liked by all of you. Sad, really.” you threw the card at him too. As a matter of fact, you threw all of the bags right in front of them. “And then Asmo.. oh my God, first of all, the world doesn’t revolve around you. Shocker, I know. If you were half as empathetic toward your family as you are obsessed with yourself, maybe you wouldn’t feel the need to always go party and drink your life away. Oh, I’m sorry, did that hit just a little too hard? Can’t be harder than the hangovers you wake up with on a regular basis.” You glared at him before turning your attention to Satan. “Honestly, if you weren’t such a baby inside I may actually be scared of you. You always complain about how stupid he is, how he needs to just learn, but you? What do you do all day? You hole yourself up in your room and read about worlds that you wish you could enter. News flash: you’d die before you had the chance to say hello. People don’t like self-proclaimed assholes. Mammon IS smart. He’s very talented, too, but you’re too far up in Shakespeare’s ass that you fail to realize that everyone has knowledge in different fields of life. Give me a break.”
Satan was about to retort but you already moved on to Levi. “and you! Let’s be honest, if it weren’t for you wallowing in self-pity and fake depression, you would have absolutely no personality traits. What are you again? The Avatar of Envy? How about instead of being envious of others’ accomplishments, you actually start working on yourself. It’s truly pathetic that a couple millenia old demon’s only purpose in life is ramen and self inflicted emotional pain. Seriously, what are you? A pitiful loner? I can’t even begin to empathize with you in any way, shape, or form.” Your blood was boiling right now and maybe if they hadn’t attacked Mammon like they did, you would’ve felt bad about Levi’s sad face right now, but there was still one person left to deal with.”
“And you… beautiful, responsible, way-too-good-for-you older brother, Lucifer.” He’s been glaring at you this whole time, arms crossed over his chest but you stood your ground. You’re not quite sure how you managed, but you did. “You call yourself the best, the most responsible. You constantly say this family would fall apart without you, but that’s not it, is it? I think you’re just lonely. You force these six to be by you, to respect you and borderline worship you. Not because you deserve it…” you chuckled, shaking your head, “no. You’re just so sad that Daddy and Michael left you, mocked you, that you turned your sadness into anger and took it out on these six, but especially Mammon. Why? Because you see yourself in him. You call him your favorite brother, but it’s not because he actually is… he just reminds you of everything you used to be: fun, reckless, and feeling. Now you’re just cold, mean, and bitter. Don’t bother calling yourself the mighty first because without him you would be neither. Maybe if you pulled that stick out of your arse and actually tried to get to know your brothers, maybe you wouldn’t be so lonely all the time. Family, right? That’s what you want. How about you start acting like one.”
You shook your head after that, grabbing Mammon’s hand and kicking the bags in front of you before dragging Mammon back out the door. “Those are for you, by the way. Not that you deserve them, but they’re Mammon’s way of apologizing for all the things you accused him of the minute he set foot into the house. Have fun. We’re going to the castle and, if we’re lucky, to a real home.”

Peppermint
Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader
Synopsis: when you wear peppermint chapstick, you discover Peter hates peppermint
Masterlist
Tumblr media
It started as an ordinary day.
You saw Peter and Ned in the dining hall between classes and went to join them like you normally did.
“Hi.” Peter smiled up at you from his seat when he saw you approaching.
“Hi, Petey.” You wrapped your arms around his shoulders before moving to kiss him. He craned his neck to kiss you back but pulled away sooner than usually.
It only went downhill from there.
You looked at him curiously and sat down, wondering why he stopped kissing you so fast.
“Oh.” He grimaced as he puckered his lips.
“What?” You looked between him and Ned, hoping someone had answers.
“You’ve made a bold choice today.” Peter nodded as he wiped his mouth off on the back of his hand.
“What?” You laughed in surprised.
“A lot of bold flavors going on.” He continued, taking out a napkin to wipe his mouth.
“What is he talking about?” You asked Ned when Peter gave you no answers.
“Oh, I see.” Ned realized. “Is your chapstick spearmint?”
“No, I think it’s-“
“Peppermint.” Peter cut you off with a sour face. “It’s peppermint.”
“Am I missing something?” Your eyes shifted between the boys, still extremely confused.
“Peter hates peppermint.” Ned told you.
“You do?” You laughed and looked at your boyfriend. “Why?”
“It’s so gross. Oh my God, it’s still on me.” Peter gagged as he wiped his lips again.
“What is your problem?” You raised an eyebrow at his odd behavior. “You don’t want to be minty fresh?”
“Thats not minty fresh. That’s disgusting.” He shook his head and rubbed his face. “Ew, my hands smell like it now.”
“How did I not know you hate peppermint?” You sat back in your chair as you wondered out loud. “Is this why you threw up my my gingerbread house party last year?”
“Yes.” Peter answered. “And I guess I never told you because I assumed you would know I hate the most putrid smell on earth.”
“Peppermint is not putrid.” You laughed again, still not taking this seriously. “It’s sweet and minty.”
“No.” Peter shook his head repeatedly. “Evil spawn.”
“No, not evil spawn.” You insisted. “It’s a nice scent.”
“Princess, you know I hate to disagree with you, but I’m pretty sure Satan keeps a an diffuser with peppermint essential oil on at all times in hell.” Peter told you as he squeezed your hand.
“Now you’re just being dramatic.” You teased. “It’s just chapstick.”
You leaned in to kiss him again and he put his hand on your face to push you away.
“No. I can’t.” He gagged. “It’s too gross.”
You stared at him with a dropped jaw, not believing he just pushed you away. You realized that this wasn’t a joke to him and he actually hated peppermint.
“Fine.” You shrugged. “Then I just won’t kiss you today.”
Peter said nothing to this and instead nodded, as if he agreed. You raised an eyebrow, expecting him to object like he usually did if you said you weren’t going to kiss him. Peter was a very affection person, so you often teased him by threatening to withhold affection. You looked at Ned to see if he was seeing what you were seeing, and Ned looked scared.
“Oh No.” He gulped. “This isn’t good.”
“Peter!” You softly hit his arm, making him jump.
“What?” He asked.
“You’re supposed to protest!” You told him. “I’m your girlfriend and I just told you I’m not gonna kiss you.”
“And I’m being a good boyfriend and supporting your idea.” He smiled sweetly at you and rubbed your back. You scoffed and looked at Ned for help, but he offered none.
“School is the only place we can kiss each other anytime we want.” You reminded him. “You know Avengers are still banned from dating at the tower. Are you seriously not going to kiss me because of my chapstick?”
“It’s not because of your chapstick.” Peter told you. “It’s because of the scent of your chapstick.”
“Are you sure this is how you want to play this?” You asked Peter, giving him a chance to change his mind.
“Um…yes?” He said weakly, now worried about your sudden mood change.
“Fine.” You shrugged and stood up. “Then I’ll see you at the tower.”
“You’re not eating with us?” He asked, giving you puppy dog eyes.
“No.” You gave him a tight smile. “Clearly and me and my lips are not welcome here.”
You turned on your heel and walked away, leaving Peter and Ned alone.
“Bye!” Peter called after you. “I love you!”
“That went well for you.” Ned chuckled once you were out of sight.
“You don’t think she’s actually mad at me, is she?” Peter wondered.
“No.” MJ said, making Peter and Ned jump. “She’s not mad at you. She’s upset that you didn’t want to kiss her.”
“How long have you been listening?” Ned asked as he looked up at her.
“Since Ned said Senora Chavez had a nice ass.” MJ stated as she sat down next to Ned. “Listen, I know Y/n better than anyone-“
“Uh, I disagree.” Peter cut in. “Hi, Y/n’s boyfriends, nice to meet you.”
“Cute.” MJ deadpanned. “Best friend trumps boyfriend. Everyone knows that.”
“That’s not true.” Peter snorted. “Is it?”
“No.” Ned answered. “But I also don’t know.”
“What I’m trying to say is, you won’t win this.” MJ continued. “You have to get over your little peppermint tantrum or she won’t kiss you. Simple as that.”
“She can kiss me as long as she’s not wearing peppermint chapstick.” Peter shrugged, not seeing anything wrong with what had happened.
“She’s not gonna stop wearing peppermint chapstick, dummy.” MJ flicked him on the side of the head. “You just started a fight.”
“What? That wasn’t a fight.” Peter insisted.
“It’s a silent fight.” MJ explained. “She’s not gonna say anything about it and wait for you to apologize. If you don’t, then it becomes a real fight.”
“Apologize for what? For hating the worst smell in the world?” Peter scoffed.
“For being a diva and calling her gross.” MJ said like it was obvious.
“I didn’t call her gross.” Peter corrected. “I called her choices gross.”
“And that’s where you fucked up.” MJ made a face. “It’s fine if you don’t want my help, but you’re gonna lose your girlfriend over it.”
“That’s ridiculous.” Peter laughed in dismissal. “I am not going to lose Y/n over something as meaningless as peppermint chapstick.”
“See for yourself.” MJ shrugged and got up. “Later losers.”
Peter sat in silence for a moment as he thought about what MJ had said. You did seem upset when you left, so MJ might be right.
“You don’t think…” Peter began, and Ned knew where it was going.
“No.” Ned assured him. “But also I don’t know.”
“I’m sure we’re fine.” Peter said to convince himself. “It’s just chapstick.”
“Yeah.” Ned agreed. “Unless it’s not.”
“Yeah.” Peter worried. “Unless it’s not.”
~
Peter couldn’t keep the interaction off his mind all day. He could barely focus in the lab later that day when Tony had to take of you writing down chemical reactions he needed in a future experiment. If you were mad, you didn’t let on. But you also didn’t give Peter the impression that everything was fine. After ten minutes of writing in silence, he poked you with his pen.
“Psst.” He whispered.
“What?” You whispered back.
“You look pretty today.” Peter smiled softly at you.
“Oh yeah?” You tilted your head. “Then kiss me.”
Peter’s face fell, cheeky smile long gone.
“I can’t.” He whispered again.
“And why’s that?” You stopped writing to give him your full attention. Peter looked up as he thought of a good enough lie to tell you.
“I’m waiting for marriage.” He answered finally, making you nod your head.
“Were you waiting for marriage when we had sex last week?” You kept your tone neutral.
“I temporarily stopped waiting and I have now resumed.” He corrected himself.
“You’re an imbecile.” You spoke at full volume now, earning a glance from Tony.
“I hate peppermint!” Peter whined. “It’s gross!”
“Dumb and Dumber.” Tony called to you. “Is everything okay over there?”
“Yes, sir.” Peter calmed down. “Sorry, sir.”
“You’re gonna be sorry.” You laughed humorlessly as you started writing again.
“Princess.” Peter softened his voice and stroked your hair. “Just take it off and we can go back to normal.”
“I don’t want to take it off.” You shrugged. “In fact, I think I need some more.”
“Don’t.” Peter deadpanned as you reached into your pocket and took out your chapstick. You smiled sweetly at him before generously lathering the chapstick on your lips.
“Ew!” Peter began to dry heave and got out of his chair. “I’m gonna barf.”
“All right. That’s enough.” Tony sighed and stopped working. “Peter, hit the showers or something. I need you out of here.”
“Gladly.” Peter said as he glared at you.
“Gladly?” You raised an eyebrow. “And you said I was bold?”
“Y/n. You too. Out now.” Tony commanded so you gathered your things. You started putting on chapstick again, maintaining eye contact with Peter as you did it. He gagged before clutched your stomach while pinching his nose. You blew him a minty kiss before walking out of the lab with Peter following behind you.
“Are you happy now? Are you pleased as punch, Parker?” You spat as he continued walking. “Mr. Stark probably thinks we’re crazy now. Or even better, he’s gonna figure out that we’re together.”
Peter ignored you and kept walking, not wanting to talk when he was angry.
“You know what?” You continued. “He’s probably right. Since only crazy people would hate the luscious, beautiful smell of peppermint.”
Peter suddenly turned around and grabbed you, rubbing his hands over your lips to wipe off the chapstick.
“How dare you?” You gasped. “You ghoul!”
“You’re the ghoul!” He shouted back. “Peppermint is a sin!”
Steve and Nat, who were sitting in the living room and watching this unfold, exchanged a look.
“It is not!” You shouted. “You’re just being dramatic!”
“I can’t help it.” He shrugged. “This calls for drama. I hate it so much.”
“How much?” You asked as you slathered it on again. “How much do you hate it?”
“Please.” He covered his mouth and gagged. “I’m gonna be sick.”
“You need to get over this. It’s just a flavor.” You insisted.
“Demon flavor.” He shot back, hunched over with his hands in his knees and coughing.
“This is super weird, right?” Steve whispered to Nat.
“Yeah.” She nodded as she watched the scene in front of her with a disgusted look. “I think we should go.”
You watched Steve and Nat leave the room, feeling embarrassed with the strange looks they gave you. No one actually knew you and Peter were together, so you could only imagine what they were thinking. You looked back at Peter and saw that he was still gagging, bringing you to a decision.
“Fine, Peter.” You sighed and rubbed your mouth on the back of your hand. “I wiped it off. Are you okay?”
You crouched beside him and rubbed his back, worried he was actually going to puke. He slowly stood up and blew out a breath before nodding.
“Yeah. I’m sorry.” He frowned at you. “I didn’t mean to raise my voice at you.”
“I’m sorry too.” You said as you rubbed his shoulders. “We shouldn’t be yelling at each other in the hallway. Someone’s either gonna realize we’re dating or think we’re unstable.”
“Yeah. We do look a bit ridiculous.” He laughed shyly as he looked around.
“Yeah.” You chuckled as wrapped your arms around his neck. “And I’m sorry about the chapstick. I didn’t know you didn’t like it.”
“It’s my fault.” He insisted. “I should have told you. And I definitely shouldn’t have gotten that upset.”
“Maybe not.” You agreed. “But I should not have taunted you after I knew you hated it. That was mean.”
“Just a little.” He pinched his fingers together. “Are we okay now?”
“We’re okay. I love you, Petey.” You rubbed your thumb over his cheek, happy to have resolved it.
“I love you too, princess.” He smiled before leaning in to kiss you. Before your lips could touch, he sharply pulled away.
“Oh no.” He said gravely.
“What?”
“I smell it.” He squeezed his eyes shut, trying not to freak out.
“It?” You wondered.
“Your chapstick.” He admitted, making your groan. “I can smell it from here.”
“I wiped it off.” You whined, pulling your arms away from him.
“The smell.” He gagged. “It lingered. I cant kiss you. I’m sorry.”
“Are you serious?” You out your hands on your hips and stared at him.
“Yes.” He answered. “I’m sorry. Can we make up but not kiss?”
“You’re not gonna kiss me because of a lingering smell of peppermint?” You said as more than a statement than a question.
“This is true, yes.” Peter nodded.
“Then I’ll see you later, Parker.” You shook your head and walked away from him. Peter sighed sadly as he watched you walk away, knowing that wasn’t how he wanted to end things.
“What was that about?” Sam asked as he wandered into the hallway. He overhead the fight from the kitchen and arrived in time to watch you leaving.
“Um.” Peter thought of a way to explain what just happened. “We had a little fight.”
“About what?” He pressed.
“Y/n is wearing peppermint chapstick today.” Peter answered honestly.
“And that concerns you because…?” Sam questioned.
“I don’t like the scent of peppermint.” Peter scoffed. “Does that make me a monster?”
“So what?” Sam snorted. “It’s not like you’re kissing her.”
Peter turned his face to the side so Sam wouldn’t see his inability to keep a secret.
“Hm.” Peter nodded stiffly. “Yes. It is not like I am kissing her. That was be absurd.”
“Right.” Sam said skeptically. “Because Avengers aren’t allowed to date each other. You know that, right?”
“I know.” Peter nodded too many times. “We’re not dating. I just hate peppermint.”
“For arguments sake, let’s say you were dating.” Sam began. “Because everyone knows that you are but no one cares enough to report you.”
“What?” Peter forced a laugh. “That’s ridiculous. We’re not dating.”
“Yeah. And I’m white.” Sam humored him. “If you were dating and fighting over the flavor of her chapstick, I’d give you one piece of advice.”
“What’s that?” Peter asked.
“Get over it and go kiss your girlfriend.” Sam sighed. “It’s just a flavor, but she’s not just a girl. Don’t risk a good thing over a bad scent.”
“Wow.” Peter soaked it in. “That’s pretty good advice. Thanks Sam. I always thought you didn’t like me.”
“I don’t.” Sam told him. “But I like Y/n. And I don’t want to live in this tower while you two are going through a messy breakup. So make up or shut up. Your choice.”
“Okay.” Peter nodded confidently. “I know what I have to do.”
~
Peter went back to his room and began to brainstorm ways to make it up to you. Before he could put his plans into motion, he heard a knock at his door.
“Come in”. He called from his bed.
“Hey, Petey.” You spoke timidly as you opened his door. You weren’t sure if he was mad at you or not, and he was wondering the same thing about you.
“Hey, princess.” Peter smiled softly. “It’s nice to see you. I’m glad you came to see me.”
“I missed you.” You smiled back as you sat on his bed. “Whatcha doing?”
“Just taking my daily vitamins.” Peter said as he laid his gummies out. You furrowed your eyebrows and moved his hand to see what his vitamins looked like.
“These are fruit snacks.” You told him as you held up a bright orange gummy.
“I’m so fragile right now.” Peter whispered before downing his fruit snacks in one go. You chuckled a little at your boyfriends antics and scooted closer to him.
“Talk to me about it.” You said as you rubbed his arm.
“I feel as though our relationship is not in mint condition.” Peter said without looking up at you. You caught on to his pun and let out a groan.
“Peter.”
“I’m sorry.” He smiled weakly. “You look beautiful.”
“What are you doing?” You asked skeptically.
“Giving you a compli-mint.” He fed you another pun.
“You don’t have to do this.” You assured him. “I caved. I’m wearing cherry chapstick.”
“You are?” His eyes lit up.
“Yeah. I threw the other one out.” You shrugged. “I don’t even like the smell of it. It was just the first one I grabbed this morning.”
“You don’t like the smell either?”
“It’s a little harsh on my nose.” You scrunched your nose. “Plus, it burns my lips.”
“You know what this means, don’t you?” Peter smiled wickedly.
“What does this mean?” You laughed.
“We are mint to be.” He said with a cheeky smile.
“Stop.” You whined. “The fight is over. No more puns.”
“Okay, I’ll stop.” He held up his hands. “I’m sorry I yelled at you. And I’m sorry I wouldn’t kiss you all day.”
“I’m sorry I yelled too.” You frowned and cupped his chin. “You can make up for it by kissing me now.”
Peter nodded happily and leaned in to kiss you, giving you a real kiss this time. He pulled away and kept his lips puckered, realizing he was tricked.
“You’re wearing peppermint chapstick.” He said matter of factly.
“Yep.” You smiled. “And you didn’t die, vomit, or burst into flames.”
“Hm.” Peter realized you were right. “It stings my lips a little. I kinda like it.”
“See? It’s not that bad.”
“Oh, it’s bad.” Peter corrected. “It’s just not as bad as I thought. Maybe I was a little too dramatic.”
“Maybe?” You teased.
“Fine.” Peter agreed. “But you knew I was dramatic before you started dating me. If anything, this is all your fault.”
“Why don’t we blame this on the entire concept of peppermint of call it a night?” You suggested and you laid down on his bed. Peter laid down beside you and wrapped his arm around you, still rubbing his lips together.
“You know what, princess? That sounds like a great idea.”
