Climbing a ridge along a winding road makes me think of driving over the shallow grave of a spinal cord. I’ve been seeing hills and bones forever.

When the sun hits a certain angle and stretches silhouettes out on the road real long, my shoulders make twin summits. I can see the shape of them now even in the soft edges of shadow.

Last night I found a cheekbone. Last month my jaw.

I keep thinking, oh, there I am. Like I’d never really left but all these things been tucked away forever.

Have you seen the first geoglyph memory yet? It makes me want an AU where Link is the one who picks up the tear when the hand falls and Ganondorf wakes at the begining, and as such is the one who...to avoid spoilers, ends up in the place Zelda ends up in. Link interacting with Hydrated!Ganondorf. He would be SO UNIMPRESSED and also steal his horse.

I have been playing for a while now, riding my horse and setting things on fire, and I have about six or so more memories to find. I'm at the point where I know enough of the plot not to be worried about spoilers.

This game has a ton of potential for AUs! Like, the first fifteen minutes can go in fifteen different directions! Very nice!

If approached without the weight of deadlines or external judgement, libraries are great places to pass the time, especially big university libraries. I like just looking over the index of (what seem to me) improbable monographics with super specific titles, and going "huh"

ahhhh these are very good for idea generation, but definitely getting harder the longer this goes on XD okay, shaking things up with a ghiralink concept, because I've tortured the bird enough for one day. Throughout the course of Link's adventure, Ghirahim keeps appearing in Link's dreams, though at first he doesn't realize they're "real." The dreams are strangely vivid, but surprisingly mundane—just the two of them playing a game together (cards, bc the title 😉), talking (and because it's a dream and he's less inhibited, Link actually talks back, which he doesn't usually do during their real life encounters). The dreams are never violent. Ghirahim usually spends them probing for information (which Link resists giving out, even in dreams), trying undermine Link's loyalty to the goddess, and pointing out Link's ineptitude in the game, which Link thinks isn't fair because he still has no idea what they're playing. Only when a few coincidences from their conversations line up a bit too neatly does Link finally realize that these encounters are something beyond dreams.

It's a turning point where Link starts playing back. Probing Ghirahim, trying to undermine his own loyalty to Demise. It's almost enjoyable speaking to him, and Link starts to dread the inevitable end. By their last meeting, it's clear that neither of them intend to back down, so they just... play, and talk. Link asks Ghirahim what will happen if he defeats Demise without killing Ghirahim, and Ghirahim shuts him down, promising that Link's only path to Demise is through his own, and won't acknowledge any other possibility. Still, Link ends that dream thinking he has the advantage in their final encounter, because he intends to defeat Demise with the Triforce without giving Ghirahim a chance to revive or defend his master at all... but of course, that plan is ruined at the Gate of Time, where events unfold as they did in-game. Link wins, but when he can't find Ghirahim in his dreams again, it feels bittersweet.

Eventually it occurs to him that he doesn't know much about magic, but Zelda does, and she might know how to initiate the dreams. He asks for her help, saying they really should find out for safety reasons whether Ghirahim is still alive, and even though Zelda’s intuitive enough to know that that isn't the real reason, she reluctantly agrees to help. Zelda teaches him how to initiate the connection (if it still exists), warning him to be careful... and it works. Link is back in the dream room, and Ghirahim is there.

Ghirahim congratulates Link on tracking him down, but his heart isn't in their game or conversation, and he promises this will be the last time. He knows how to keep Link out of his head, which Link never did. Asks if Link is there to rub in his victory, which Link vehemently denies, admitting that he's there because he just missed Ghirahim himself. Says he wants to find him in the real world, finally throws down a winning hand. Ghirahim considers this, meets him across the table for a kiss, tells Link that if he's so desperate to find him then he'd better start searching. Link wakes up with the ghost of a kiss on his lips, filled with determination.

I live content in the knowledge that Bucky is unapologetically, openly in love with Sam. Showering him with gifts, flirting with him openly and not caring who finds out (one time during a press conference, and the internet collectively loses its mind), kissing him at any given opportunity (ESPECIALLY before and after missions) holding his hand as they walk down the street, checking him out every time he walks past him, going all out planning their dates, and using everything in his power to make sure that Sam knows how much he's loved.
