I think I finally understand how people feel when around a crush, can't say I enjoy it
#warrior cats#whistlepaw#windclan#medicine cat apprentice#this isn't my first crush lol but this one has had me feel the strongest of feelings (and might be my first genuine crush lol)#the fact I have been building up A Lot of stress for the entire week probably didn't help.#and the fact my stomach hurt is also probably at least partially to explain by the fact I barely ate last night#but MAN seeing my (latest) crush in such a pretty dress and then go on stage and play (a goddess!!!!!!! she's a goddess)#(I already bought tickets to go see the full thing; I will die but I will die happy (I hope))#but yeah I struggled for a good 2 hours to fall asleep and also had stomach weirdness happening the next morning#man it was not fun#(and then she came to sit next to me during class and I had to play it cool (I was too deranged on sleep deprivation to really care about#being my typical brand of weird but I do sometimes feel like an idiot around her and feel guilty because then I fear that she finds me#annoying and will hate me and I will fail this again (losing a friendship over a crush once was not that fun lol) and Traumas don't help#either at all so uh I'm just trying to spend time with her I just always feel a bit worried that I'm annoying her and it's consuming my bra#I do also still feel a little guilty about having this crush; internalized homophobia/issues around sexuality are hard to shake off#and while it's very normal and stuff I never dare to go the entire way when my brain conjures fantasies that are a little too risqué#I just feel guilty man I know I shouldn't but still it fucking sucks in my brain#and god talking about this in therapy would be a mess#I might have to eventually but I don't wanna#anyways; wild vent in the tags aside; yay a whis!

Brother!Foolish AU: What if in this AU Foolish still had his godly powers? Like, he comes onto the server to check on his mortal baby brother and finds out that it’s all gone to shit, so he decides “Screw it. MY server now.” and just adopts everyone. Forcefully. He has to prove his strength and get them to submit first — which he absolutely can do — but because he doesn’t want to hurt anyone he has to use tickles instead. So there’s just a 23 foot giant roaming the server, picking up civilians in one hand and using the other (and sometimes his mouth) to tickle them to pieces. (Sapnap puts up a big fight. It takes him about two hours before he gives up.) (Foolish is particularly mean to Quackity, and EXTRA mean to Sam, continuing to punish them for what they did to his brother even after they’ve given up the idea of fighting against their new god.)
Ideas:
Raspberries. Long, smothering raspberries against the sides and tummy. They cover the ribs, too. And as a god, he can take in a LOT of air.
Nibbles. Dream hated them as a kid, so of course Foolish knows how to give them a real bite. Plus he’s a shark-totem hybrid, so. Sharp teeth.
Feathers. Big ones. He pins the arms and legs down with his fingers to keep them from curling in on themselves and brushes feather against their tummies with his other hand. Sometimes — if they’ve been particularly bad — he used the pointy quill to draw shapes against their ribs, sides, feet, wherever makes them scream the most. (Quackity can’t stand this, so he gets at least ten full minutes of it.) (Foolish wonders aloud why the ducky is so sensitive to feathers. Counterintuitive, right?) (A lot of this is due to Dream’s torture, but also Quackity wasn’t exactly a good boss. About time he reminded him about the dangers of treating your employees like crap.) (The other Las Nevadas employees might be helping, or just cheerfully watching from nearby.)
Bad frequently provokes him anyway, so it’s no surprise that he knows exactly how the demon likes to be picked apart. He just — goes a little further this time. (He explains the situation afterward, and Bad ends up helping him — partially due to his guilt over being a bystander to Dream’s torture, even if he was being gaslit by Sam into thinking it was all in his head.) (Alternatively: Bad is put in charge of looking after Dream and keeping him from doing something stupid while Foolish goes on his rampage.) (…Kinda prefer that second option, ngl.) (Side plot: Bad and Dream and soft, sleepy cuddles :) )
Punz isn’t let off the hook. Foolish has (rightly) determined that Punz is a huge enabler. Punz is given a stern talking to after their little…duel.
ffzgxhs foolish the giant tickle monster oh god 😅😵‍💫 that’s adorableeeeee
(discussion below)
🦙🦙🦙…
couple things that stood out to me;
giant, shark teeth nibbles 😵‍💫 just the fear factor would be through the roof?? especially if he’s just picked them up?? like they’re absolutely helpless,,, also bigger mouth equals more surface area covered for raspberries/nibbles 😍
quackity being sensitive to feather tickles despite having feathers is literally the cutest things and one of my favourite tropes. but again,, giant feathers?? like imagine a giant feather running up the back or stomach 🥴
the fact that news would probably spread quickly that foolish has become the tickle monster,, and therefore people would be extra panicked when he catches them (panicked tickles are just >>>>>>)
BAD GIVING DREAM COMFORT TICKLES IS MY ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE AND I HAVE A WIP about it 😭
foolish actually letting bad help him out :(( kinda like the idea of bad helping dream play jokes on foolish, knowing full well that dream would get into trouble for it (and hopefully him as well hehe). but also knowing that it would cheer dream up

summary: when Peter goes missing while on a mission, he’s not exactly himself when he returns. His appetite is a little different now, and you soon find out that he’s hungry for more than just blood
~
You should’ve known that something was wrong when your phone went off at nearly 3 in the morning. No one ever called you that late, not even Peter. Your best friend was more likely to slip through your window if he needed something. Groggy with fatigue, it took you a moment to realize that you had not plugged your phone up before going to sleep like you thought, and that it was instead in your sheets somewhere.
“Hello?” you finally grumbled, eyes still closed as you wondered just who in the world was calling you.
“Kid, it’s Tony. Is Peter with you?”
You were suddenly wide awake, blinking your eyes open as you forced yourself to sit up.
“No…? I thought… Isn’t he on a mission?”
Worry began to bleed into your heart, and it only increased at Tony’s words.
“He was, yeah.”
You threw the covers off of you, hurriedly sliding out of bed as you searched for some shoes.
“What do you mean ‘was’?”
The older man sighed, and you noted that his voice shook a little bit. You froze, heart dropping into your stomach as the severity of whatever was going on registered. Tony Stark was worried.
“He was supposed to check in 2 days ago. He was supposed to be back today. Neither of those things have happened.”
“Wh-what do you mean?”
Your pitch had risen, and you didn’t bother to mask your fear.
“I don’t have much time to explain. Capsicle and Robocop are coming with me to see if we can find him. We’re leaving shortly, but my coordinates show that he’s still in Bulgaria. That’s where we sent him. We just haven’t heard a word from him and can’t seem to get in touch with him.”
You could hear things going on in the background, and you figured that they were only moments away from leaving. Your stomach churned, and you felt like you might be sick. If Tony Stark with all of his gadgets and resources couldn’t get ahold of Peter, then something was really wrong.
“Look, I have to go. If he shows up there, let us know immediately.”
He hung up before you had the chance to tell him that you were coming straight to the compound. You stared at your phone for a bit, brows drawn together as you processed this news. You hadn’t thought anything of it when you hadn’t heard from Peter in a few days. He wasn’t a kid anymore, had graduated college alongside you only last year, so his presence on the team was needed a lot more. His missions were less juvenile, so losing touch for a week at a time was nothing new.
As you threw on a coat to combat the biting New York air, you tried not to dwell on the worst. It couldn’t be helped though, and as soon as you stepped into your apartment hallway, shoulder grazing your door, tears filled your eyes. If Tony could see where Peter currently was...and he wasn’t able to get in touch with him...then that meant he was dead right? You shook your head, locking your door and tightening your fingers around your purse. There could be so many reasons for that. It didn’t mean he was dead.
The entire drive to upstate New York was a quiet one. You couldn’t even find it in yourself to fill the car with mind-numbing music to distract you. Your fingers were tight on the wheel, legs so tense that when you finally arrived at the compound, they actually hurt when you stepped out of the car. You leaned your back against the vehicle, the warmth seeping through your coat, and you released an unsteady breath.
You had known Peter since high school, easily finding a place with him and Ned, and eventually, MJ too. When Ned and MJ took their college education elsewhere, you had remained. You told yourself it was to save money, a partial truth, but you never wanted to admit that it was also to stay by Peter’s side. You couldn’t imagine being away from him. It was pathetic really, but Peter was more than some guy you loved. He was your best friend.
“I had a feeling you’d show up here.”
The familiar voice reached your ears, and you looked up at Wanda just as she floated down next to you. Her auburn hair was ruffled with a gentle breeze, her eyes sympathetic as she reached out to pull you into her side.
“They will find him,” she assured you.
You could hear Sam on the phone as soon as she guided you inside of the compound, and he sent you a tense smile and wave, which you returned. You could faintly hear other voices as well, and you figured that everyone who stayed back was wrapped up in doing whatever they could to get in contact with Peter. You felt helpless.
“What can I do?” you asked Wanda, already knowing the answer.
“Just be here,” she told you, making you sigh.
“Wanda…”
You gave her a reproachful look, and she smiled at you.
“We know you’re worried just like the rest of us, probably even more than the rest of us,” you swallowed at her knowing look. “...but everything will be okay. The last thing we need is you putting yourself in harm’s way or bursting a blood vessel.”
You nodded, heeding her words. You made your way to your room with a heavy heart. You were far from being a member of the team, you could barely throw a proper punch, but seeing as you came over so often with Peter, sometimes in the dead of night, Tony decided to have you a room put in. Right next to Peter’s.
One of his old college sweatshirts was on your desk, still there from the last time you borrowed it, and without thinking, you got undressed and put it on. It still smelled like him, and with the scent of your best friend filling your nose, you laid down and sought out sleep.
Tumblr media
The next day brought bad news. They had found Peter’s suit, but no Peter. It explained his stationary location and their lack of success with getting in touch with him. You had just stepped into the door of the room when Tony told them, his virtual face wracked with fear and worry, something you weren’t used to seeing.
You could tell that you weren’t meant to hear the news just yet by the way Nat’s eyes widened when she finally noticed you. The rest of the team turned as she hurriedly rose, making her way to you just as your face crumbled.
“Y/N-.”
“Wh-what does that mean? What does he mean?”
Tony’s voice faded as she pulled you from the room, and you almost tripped over your feet as your legs shook.
“Hey, Y/N, it’s going to be okay,” she said, attempting to calm you.
“What does he mean by that? Why doesn’t he have his suit- where is he?”
You were in your room now, and she shushed you as she guided you to your bed. You sat down, staring at your feet as your brain whirled. You hadn’t realized how fast your heart was beating, and your whole body shook as you fought to process this news.
“I don’t understand,” you mumbled, more to yourself than the spy before you.
She came into your vision as she knelt before you, her hands taking yours.
“Me neither,” she mumbled.
You fingered Peter’s shirt. You were still wearing it, just with some jeans, and Nat observed the movement.
“How long?” she quietly asked.
She didn’t need to elaborate. You knew what she was asking.
“Since…” you shrugged, releasing a heavy breath. “...practically since forever.”
“Does he know?”
You sadly shook your head. She pursed her lips, red hair framing her face as she studied you.
“We’re going to find him, and when we do, you can tell him. Okay?”
You nodded.
“Okay,” you quietly replied.
Nat didn’t stay for long, and you guessed that she needed to get back to the team to plan the best course of action. You barely left your room for the rest of the day, not having much of an appetite nor energy for anything. It was late in the evening when you found yourself making your way to Peter’s room. You lost count of how many times you slept in here, but Peter was usually with you, and if not, he at least showed up at some point. You liked waking up to the sound of his soft snores.
It felt weird with him gone, even weirder when you accounted for the fact that you didn’t know when he’d be back. If he’d be back. Your face almost crumbled at the thought, and you laid down, grabbing one of his pillows and hugging it to your chest, unable to stop the tears that spilled over, no matter how much you tried.
You slept in his room for days, and for days there was still no sign of him. The team was beyond worried now. You knew it, no matter how much they tried to portray otherwise. They were getting restless and scared. You couldn’t exactly say that you were any different though.
Sleep was hard to find, and even when you did, you found yourself tossing and turning throughout the night. Every time you woke up, you kept hoping that he’d be there, that you’d hear his voice. You were met with a dark empty room each time though, and it always broke your heart. After Peter had been missing for 8 days, Wanda finally came to you.
“I think you should go home,” she told you.
You were sitting cross legged on Peter’s bed, and she sat before you, hands in her lap with her feet on the floor. You frowned at her, wondering if you had overstayed your welcome, but she continued.
“It’s not that we don’t want you here, because you know we love having you around, but… You do not look good, Y/N.”
You squirmed under her concerned stare, clearing your throat.
“I’m fine,” you quietly argued.
“You’re not, and that’s okay. You just...you look exhausted and worried, and you’ve lost weight. A considerable amount in such a short time. What would Peter think if he came back right now and saw that you weren’t properly taking care of yourself?” she wondered.
Guilt flooded you, and you reluctantly nodded.
“I know that being here brings you some comfort, but I don’t think it’s worth the toll it’s taking on you.”
Your shoulders sagged, and you reluctantly admitted that she was right. You wanted to be near Peter in any way you could, but constantly waiting and listening out for any news was stressing you out.
“Go home. Sleep in your own bed. Get some rest. You can always come back,” she said.
“Okay.”
So, you did. You took a shower as soon as you made it back to your apartment, finding another one of Peter’s shirts he’d left. You forced yourself to at least eat something of substance, and when you had all you could take, you made a cup of tea. You had tried to watch tv, but funnily enough, the news was reporting on a crime that Spider-Man’s had helped solve months ago. Unable to stomach it, you turned the tv off and opted for bed.
Strangely enough, you were able to sleep better in your own bed. It happened quickly, and you didn’t toss or turn much. The first time you floated back to consciousness, it must have been around 3 in the morning. It was the longest you’d slept in days, and you knew that you’d be drifting back soon. However, you faintly noted that goosebumps had erupted over your skin, like you were cold.
Considering it was cold outside, you kept your heater blasting.
You blinked, staring at your window. It was closed, but the curtains were parted, and you could see that it was snowing outside. For the first time in days, a small smile tugged at your lips, and with a sigh, you rolled over. A dark figure was standing beside your bed, and the scream that you let out echoed through the apartment, filled with terror.
You fought back against them as they reached for you, struggling to get away and move further back on the bed. Their hands were cool, like they’d been outside for a while with no gloves. You were sitting up, pushing against them when they reached over and flicked on your lamp. When light flooded the room, your eyes widened.
Peter stood before you, dressed casually in dark clothes and looking completely unharmed. You sharply inhaled, all of your breath leaving you as your lips parted, eyes welling with tears. You blinked a few times, feeling like you might have been dreaming, but Peter remained. You reached out to him with shaking hands, and your vision had started to blur.
“Hey, breathe. Breathe, Y/N,” he softly ordered, brows furrowed.
You did as he said, and your chest burned as you moved closer. You slid off of the bed, moving to stand up, but your legs were unsteady. Peter caught you just as you fell into his arms, wrapping your own around him. You buried your face into his chest, your tears wetting his shirt, and he enveloped you in his arms as he shushed you.
You were shaking so much, and you just couldn’t stop. You couldn’t believe that he was here, and he looked perfectly fine. You sobbed into his chest, and you felt him tighten his arms around you. You clung to him, maneuvering to bury your face into the crook of his neck, feeling guilty about his shirt. You could feel him do the same, his nose brushing against your skin, and he took a long inhale, breathing you in.
“You’re okay,” you blubbered.
“Yeah...yeah, I’m okay,” he whispered.
You pulled away from him, roaming your eyes over him before meeting his own eyes.
“Where...where have you been? Everyone is looking for you,” you softly told him.
“I know,” he replied, looking sheepish.
“We have to call Tony,” you said, reaching for your phone.
Peter stopped you before you could, his hand tight on your wrist, and you found yourself wincing at his harsh grip. You looked at him with a frown, heart skipping a beat at his sudden dark countenance. He swallowed, and your eyes were briefly drawn to the subtle movement in his throat before he eventually let you go.
“I can’t...I can’t go back,” he told you, shaking his head.
Your eyes widened at him, and confusion filled you. What?
“What are...what are you talking about? Everyone is worried sick, more worried than I’ve ever seen them. Peter, they have no idea where you are or if you’re even okay! We should at least tell them-.”
You swallowed the rest of your words as you noticed that he made to leave.
“I shouldn’t be here. I shouldn’t have come here-.”
“Wait, wait!”
You grabbed onto the back of his shirt. You weren’t any match for him, but you were thankful that he halted. You wrapped your arms around him from behind, your lips brushing his shoulder as you spoke.
“Stay. Please stay,” you whispered.
His shoulders heaved as he sighed, and you continued.
“I’m sorry, okay? We don’t...we don’t have to tell them anything. If you don’t want to go back that’s fine, but… I’ve been so worried.”
That last part was said so softly, it was a wonder he even heard you. He didn’t say anything, nor did he move for a while, but eventually he turned around, and you let your arms fall. When your eyes met his again, you watched the way they narrowed, forehead creasing just a bit. You didn’t understand why until he reached up to press his fingers to the skin beneath your eyes. You could see the disapproval in his eyes, and all you could offer was a shrug.
“I was so worried.”
Peter blinked, face falling before he pulled you into his arms again. You returned the hug and let your eyes fall closed, just basking in the feel of him. You could hear his heartbeat, so slow...and so faint, something that seemed impossible. You told yourself you were imagining it.
“You’ll stay, right?”
He threw you a small smile when you pulled back to look at him, and you watched the way his dark eyes ran over you, lingering on your neck a tad longer than the rest of you before his eyes met yours again.
“Yeah, I’ll stay.”
You smiled at him, pulling him towards your bed. You settled in, only just realizing how cold you had gotten, while Peter got in behind you. Your head hit the pillow just as he turned the light out, and you frowned when you noticed that he wasn’t completely laying down. He was on his side, facing you with his head propped up onto his hand.
“You’re not tired?”
His eyes trailed to your window, staring out into the night for a moment before he shook his head.
“No...not really.”
You chuckled.
“So you’re just going to watch me sleep?” you wondered.
He reached towards you with his other hand, brushing his fingers along your neck and collarbone, fingers cool against your warm skin. A shudder passed through you.
“I missed you,” was his only answer, and it made your heart soar.
You knew that he didn’t miss you like you missed him, but it made you happy to hear that nonetheless.
“I missed you too.”
He didn’t respond, and you closed your eyes, the feel of his fingers on your skin oddly soothing. He always made you nervous, but not tonight. You wondered if it was because you had gone without him for so long, unsure if he would ever return. Sleep was just within your reach, but something weighed on your mind that prevented you from grabbing hold of it.
“Why don’t you want to go back?”
Your voice was small in the otherwise quiet room, and when Peter didn’t answer right away, you peeled your eyes open. He had stopped touching you, fingers curling into the covers as his jaw clenched.
“They won’t want me back.”
You frowned, forcing yourself to sit up. You blinked at him a few times, lips parting as you processed what that meant. Why wouldn’t they want him back? Peter was part of the team, one of the most loved members of the team. Said team was practically sick with worry, had been for over a week. Despite the fact that Peter was right in front of you and seemingly safe and sound, worry began to take hold again.
“Why wouldn’t they want you back?”
Your best friend didn’t answer you, and your worry grew, heartbeat picking up. Peter’s eyes were on you now as he sat up too, so focused and intense.
“What happened on your mission, Peter? What happened in Bulgaria?”
Again, Peter didn’t respond, but the minute you moved closer to him, he snatched your arm. Startled, you almost fell over, but his fingers curled around your wrist and pulled you closer, guiding the palm of your hand right to his chest.
Where his heart was.
Again, like before, you noted that his heartbeat was so slow. And even fainter. It was almost nonexistent, and your brows crinkled. You had felt and heard his heartbeat many times before since he’d become Spider-Man, and you knew that this was no effect of the spider bite. You had a hard time wrapping your mind around what you were feeling, and you looked at him again.
“I have...I have to tell you something…”
You fought to keep your worry at bay, noting the way Peter’s voice shook.
“I may even have to show you...but you have to promise me…”
His hand tightened on your wrist, and he released a shaky breath.
“...promise me that you won’t be scared.”
Scared of Peter? He was your best friend, and you couldn’t ever imagine being afraid of him. Still, you felt like he needed this so you nodded.
“Okay.”
Tumblr media
Peter’s side of the bed was empty when you woke up, and your heart lurched in a mild panic before you realized why. The sun shone through your window, bathing your room in the warm rays, and you swallowed as you wondered where he could’ve gone.
“I’m right here.”
You snapped your head up to find him standing in the hall, just outside of your doorway. He was out of the sun’s reach, and you slid out of bed to join him. He was watching you like he couldn’t anticipate your next move, and you sent him a smile to reassure him.
“Do you...need anything…?”
You didn’t come right out and say it, but you both knew what you were asking. He studied you for a moment before shaking his head.
“No. I...ate before I came here last night,” he told you.
You nodded and folded your arms over your chest with a long sigh. You could feel his eyes on you as you looked away.
“Look, Peter...I know you're not going to like what I have to say, but…”
You chanced a glance at him and found his dark eyes narrowed at you.
“I think you need to tell Tony.”
He briefly closed his eyes before letting them fall to the ground, hands shoved in his pockets.
“If anyone can help you, he can.”
Peter scoffed, a humorless sound.
“Help me with what? It’s not like he can fix this, Y/N. This goes past Tony Stark and all of his intellect,” he practically spat, frustration coloring his tone. “This is what I am now.”
You grabbed his hands, squeezing them as you moved closer.
“I know, I know. I just meant...maybe he can help you safely get what you need.”
His eyes met yours, albeit reluctantly.
“...and maybe he can help you control your appetite better. That way...that way you won’t hurt anyone else,” you quietly finished, recalling everything he’d told you.
Guilt passed through Peter’s features at the reminder of what he’d done. He closed his eyes, practically squeezing them shut as his shoulders heaved, a small sigh escaping him.
“Maybe...you’re right,” he hesitantly admitted.
You could see the war going on within him when he opened his eyes, conflict and guilt and self-loathing all passing over his face.
“Hey.”
He looked at you.
“You’re still you. You just...your diet’s a little different now, that’s all.”
He cracked a smile, a small chuckle leaving him, and you joined him.
“When the sun goes down, we’ll go to the compound, and...and everything will be okay,” you promised him.
He nodded, and hours later, when the sun was safely behind the horizon, that was what you did. You drove. Peter was still wary of his new strength, strength that far surpassed what he had before. Your wrist was still sore from when he’d grabbed you last night, but you didn’t want him to feel any worse than he already did.
Having called Tony on the way, he was waiting outside when you arrived. As per requested, he was the only one. You didn’t want Peter to get overwhelmed. You weren’t exactly sure of what he was capable of now, neither one of you really were, and you didn’t want to stress him out.
Tony had pulled him into a hug the minute he reached him, and your heart clenched for many reasons. You hoped that you’d made the right decision. Tony loved Peter. He’d help him, right? When he pulled away, the bearded man’s eyes flickered between the two of you with a frown.
“So you’re going to tell me what the hell this is all about?”
Before you could respond, Peter moved to pull him inside.
“It’s a long story, Mr. Stark…”
His voice trailed off as they went inside, and with a small sigh, you eventually followed. Neither one of them were present, and you figured that they went to the lab. You had a feeling that everyone else was there too, or at least not far off. They’d been worried sick and now Peter was back, seemingly unharmed. Of course they’d be concerned and curious.
Wanda was the only one who greeted you, and her eyes were wide as they met yours. They were a bit accusatory, even fearful, and you pursed your lips. She probably didn’t mean to, but it was easy to guess that she’d been inside of Peter’s head. She knew, and there was no telling what she saw.
“Y/N…?”
You shook your head.
“He’s still him, Wanda. Okay? Everything is going to be fine.”
She didn’t look convinced, but she didn’t argue as you moved past her to go to your room. You didn’t see anyone else the rest of the night, and you knew that they were all caught up with Peter. Figuring out how this happened, running tests, coming up with the best course of action. You were in and out of sleep when you heard Peter come into your room in the early hours of the morning.
He wrapped his arms around you as he slid in behind you, and even though he wasn’t as warm as he used to be, the familiarity of it all immediately relaxed you. You felt him bury his nose in your hair, taking a deep breath as he breathed you in, fingers brushing over the skin of your arms.
“Everything okay?” you mumbled, referring to Tony and the rest of the team.
“Yeah,” he whispered. “He wants me to drink pig’s blood, but yeah. Everything’s okay.”
You chuckled at that, sleep finding you once more as you smiled at Peter’s joke. However, it was the next day when you discovered that he hadn’t been joking at all.
“You’re serious?”
Peter nodded with a frown, arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against the counter.
“He wants to start weaning me off of human blood and start transitioning to animal blood,” he grumbled.
You noted that he wasn’t happy about that, and your curiosity got the better of you.
“Is that bad?”
“Not necessarily, no,” he sighed. “He thinks it’ll help me. That maybe I’ll...crave human blood less and it’ll lower my chances of losing control around someone.”
You blinked, wondering if you agreed with that.
“I mean, he doesn’t exactly know. This is all just trial and error, right now, because probably for the first time in Mr. Stark’s life, he’s stumped,” Peter said with a shrug. “...but it’s worth a shot.”
You felt like there was more to it, like he wanted to say something else.
“He doesn’t know that I already tried that,” he whispered.
You leaned against the opposite counter, watching as his frown deepened, eyes troubled.
“When I woke up...I felt like I had swallowed fire,” he murmured. “My teeth hurt, my throat burned, and my mind was going a mile a minute. I felt like I was losing it.”
He sounded angry as he glared at the floor.
“The only thing that even smelled slightly appealing was…”
He trailed off, shaking his head, a light chuckle leaving him.
“I must have killed at least 100 animals. Anything I could get my hands on… It was like an itch I couldn’t scratch, only 1,000 times worse. It wasn’t until...it wasn’t until I came across those hikers…”
He swallowed his words, letting his face fall into his hands. You neared him, resting your hand on his arm.
“It was the first time I’d felt okay in days. I could finally freaking think,” he said through clenched teeth, letting his hands fall. “There I was...covered in blood...surrounded by bodies of innocent people...and I was finally at peace.”
You pulled him into a hug as he recounted what he’d already told you. You knew that Peter wouldn’t ever forget that moment, but God, you wanted him to. That wasn’t who he was, you knew it, and you wanted him to know it too. He pressed his face into the crook of your neck, nose brushing over the skin, and his hands rested on your waist.
Your conversation with Nat weighed on your heart. Like she’d said, Peter was back, and you could finally tell him, but it didn’t seem appropriate. The man had been attacked and turned into something you thought only existed in books. This was a hard time for him, and it seemed silly to drop one more thing onto him, one more thing that could definitely wait.
“I wouldn’t get too close to him if I were you, Y/N. He might mistake you for a quarter pounder.”
You pulled away just as Bucky’s deep chuckle reached your ears, and you turned to see both him and Sam enter the kitchen. Sam seemed pleased with his little joke.
“You’re not funny,” you told him, completely unamused.
“It’s a little funny,” Bucky disagreed, and you huffed.
You felt Peter pull away, and by the time you looked over your shoulder, he was gone.
“Seriously?”
You threw them an incredulous look, and Sam shrugged.
“Look, we’ve got to find some humor in this okay? The kid’s got fangs and he lives off of blood now,” Sam said like it was the most absurd thing in the world.
Considering that you all were friends with literal Gods and even a woman who controlled the weather, you were inclined to disagree.
“This is hard for him, okay?”
You weren’t sure if they knew the full extent of what he’d done, but you heard Sam sigh, and Bucky at least looked a little sheepish.
“I’m sure he’ll joke about it when he’s ready, but please let him do it in his own time. His whole life has changed...again.”
“Yeah, well, welcome to the club,” Bucky sighed.
You rolled your eyes and turned away with a scoff.
“What’d I say?” you heard Bucky ask, but you were already making your way to Peter’s room.
You were surprised that he told you to come in when you knocked, and you slowly stepped inside. He was on his bed, hand behind his head as he scrolled through his phone.
“You okay?”
He let his hand fall, greeting you with a smile.
“Yeah, I’m good. They don’t mean any harm, so I’m not going to let it get to me,” he replied, reaching for you.
You joined him on the bed, laying your head on his shoulder as he told F.R.I.D.A.Y to turn on the tv.
“Want to watch a movie with me? As silly as it seems, all I could think about was curling up with you and watching a movie the whole time I was away,” he confessed.
Your heart fluttered, sure he could hear it, but he didn’t comment on it. His arm slid around your waist, pulling you closer, and you nodded.
“Yeah, I’d love to.”
His hand tightened on your hip as you figured out what movie to put on.

Every day, Peter went to the lab with Tony and Bruce, and every time he returned, he always seemed irritated. You tried not to comment on the harshness of his eyes and tautness of his jaw, but eventually, you had to express your concern.
“It’s nothing,” he told you one day. “They just keep treating me like some science experiment gone wrong.”
He played it off like no big deal, but you could tell that he was genuinely bothered.
“...and its this stupid diet or whatever you can even call it! It’s not working. It’s not satisfying or fulfilling, at all. I can’t taste a damn thing, I’m just drinking to get full? If that’s what you can even call it. It does absolutely nothing to satisfy me or quell this desire…”
He trailed off at your light chuckle.
“Alright, Edward Cullen.”
He threw you a hard look, and you swallowed your laughs. While he was finally making jokes about the situation himself now, you realized that now was not the time.
“Sorry…”
He heaved a long sigh, turning to stare out of the window.
“You wanna get out of here?” he suddenly asked.
You blinked at him.
“Now?”
He glanced at the clock, and so did you. It was almost 2 in the morning.
“I can’t think of a better time,” he replied.
You chewed on your lip.
“Where?”
“Anywhere,” he shrugged. “Just for a little bit…”
He hadn’t left the compound in weeks, Tony far too paranoid, and you could see how much he needed this.
“Okay.”
That was how 40 minutes later, you found your car parked near a small pond while you and Peter leaned against it, staring at the full moon. Neither one of you had said anything since you left, and you guessed that Peter was in his thoughts. You couldn’t blame him.
“You know, if I’d been bitten by a werewolf, we’d be having a totally different night, right now.”
You barked a laugh, and he joined you.
“If you were bitten by a werewolf, I’d be trying to play fetch with you,” you replied.
He chuckled again, and the two of you fell into another easy silence. Your eyes narrowed a bit as something weighed on your mind, and you suddenly crossed your arms over your chest.
“Why won’t Tony let you have any human blood? I mean, blood banks exist…”
Peter sighed, a frustrated sound, and you turned to look at him. The cool nightly breeze blew his dark hair around his face, and his jaw clenched.
“He thinks it’ll make me crave it more. Kind of like an addict, you know?”
You shook your head, disagreeing with that.
“...but...it’s not. This is part of your DNA, now, is it not? He shouldn’t be looking at it like a drug but instead like...food. It’s what you need to survive, now,” you explained.
“You’re right...but that’s blood I’d be taking away from people who need it. Besides, it’d be pretty messed up of me to…‘convince’ some stranger to let me drink from them and then alter their memory of the whole thing,” he mumbled.
“That’s right. You did tell me you can do that, now,” you mused.
“I’m pretty sure it’ll come in handy during missions. You know, if I ever go on one again,” he complained.
Your heart hurt for Peter. His entire life had been turned on its head again. He couldn’t go on missions, couldn’t even see his aunt, and on top of it all, he couldn’t even satisfy the craving his body had for what it actually needed. You pursed your lips and glanced at him again. You were positive he noticed before, but this time he commented on it.
“What?”
You glanced away from him, heart speeding up a bit as you wrung your hands together.
“What about me?”
He didn’t respond right away, and when you looked at him again, his eyes were on you. They were narrowed, hard, but you could see the spark of something in them that gave you hope that maybe this wasn’t such a horrible idea after all. Peter’s lips parted, his sharp teeth glinting in the moonlight before he snapped his mouth shut. He cleared his throat.
“You...you would do that?”
“Of course,” you said with a frown, turning your body completely to face him. “This is what you need, and you’re my best friend, and I’m willing. So you don’t have to let your morals get in the way.”
Peter stared at you for what seemed like a long time, eyes roaming over every inch of you. You watched as he swallowed, the conflict written all over his face. You could see that he was scared, afraid that he’d hurt you, but you could also see the fire in his eyes, the desire to take you up on your offer.
“Worst case scenario-.”
“You die?”
You rolled your eyes at him, stepping closer.
“You won’t let me die, Peter. We both know it,” you whispered, pushing your sleeve up and holding your arm out.
Peter’s dark eyes snapped to the bared skin, no doubt tracing the veins that you couldn’t see. Hesitantly, he grabbed your wrist, taking a deep breath before slowly lifting your arm as he bent his head. His breath, like everything else about him now, was cool against your skin. You watched as he closed his eyes, dark lashes contrasting against his fair skin, before opening his mouth. You barely got a glimpse of his sharp canines in all of their glory before they were sinking into your arm.
The reaction from you both was instantaneous.
A loud gasp escaped you, but not from pain. No. Your body heated up like never before, blood on fire as Peter let out an equally loud groan. An addicting sense of euphoria descended over you, and you felt your legs shaking, lashes fluttering as you struggled to keep your eyes open. Sensing this, Peter reached out with his free hand and tangled it within your hair, pulling you closer until your head leaned against his shoulder.
You could feel him moving forward, and he didn’t stop until your back was against your car. His hand tightened in your hair, almost painfully, but all you let out was a moan, your breath choppy and lips trembling as he pressed his leg in between yours. Your free hand clutched his jacket, attempting to pull him closer, and a low moan escaped his own throat as he pushed his thigh more firmly against your now heated core.
You faintly noted that this was a lot more erotic than you anticipated, but you couldn’t find it in yourself to care. He was still pressing your head to his shoulder, and your lips brushed the fabric of his jacket as you murmured his name.
“Peter...Peter…”
You couldn’t tell if you were asking him to stop or not, but considering this was the best high you’d ever been on, you concluded that you were not. Suddenly, all too soon, Peter practically ripped himself away from you, and you would’ve fallen to the ground if he hadn’t caught you. Your chest was heaving, so was his, and when you peeled your eyes open, his own wide ones were focused on you.
“Shit,” he cursed, looking like he was seconds away from getting in trouble. “Shit, shit, shit. I shouldn’t have done that. Mr. Stark is going to kill me…”
“Hey...it’s okay,” you panted, weakly reaching up to brush a dark strand out of his face. “I’m okay. How do you feel?”
He seemed stumped by the question, and he suddenly blinked, brows drawn together as he stared down at you. His lips were stained with your blood.
“I...haven’t felt this satisfied in weeks,” he whispered, looking at you strangely.
You weakly chuckled, eyes fluttering closed.
“Good.”
You had only been seconds away from falling when he caught you, and he finally straightened as he lifted you into his arms. You could feel yourself on the verge of sleep...or was it the verge of death? Either way, you were happy that Peter was happy. He gently deposited you into the passenger’s seat, strapping you into place. Your head lolled as he shut the door, facing him as he settled behind the wheel.
You could feel his eyes on you, and with difficulty, you opened yours again. He was staring at you with that look again, and you were sure he thought you crazy for putting your life in danger like that. The car was quiet, just the sound of your shallow breathing could be heard, and you thought to yourself that you kind of wanted to tell him you loved him. However, before you could, Peter leaned over and pressed his blood-stained lips to yours.
It was quick and soft, just the barest of touches, but it made your eyes widen nonetheless. You stared at him as he sat back and started the car, and you wanted to keep staring at him, wanted to ask him what the hell was that, but sleep finally got to you before you could.
Tumblr media
It was days before you finally discussed what had happened, and that was only because it was days before Peter needed to “feed” again.
“I think I can go longer without when it’s human blood...because it’s what actually satisfies me. What my body needs,” he murmured one night while you were watching a movie you’d both seen a million times.
“That’s a good thing. Surely Tony will see that this is the best thing to do. This is what will keep you in control and allow you to go on missions again...see your aunt May…”
You had decided to keep what happened between the two of you, but you didn’t exactly feel right about it. Peter sighed and shook his head.
“No. I think he’d send me away,” he quietly told you.
You quickly moved your head to look up at him, your cheek on his chest as you stared at him with wide eyes.
“What are you talking about?”
“He’s been doing research, trying to find others like me. I think he has. I overheard him talking to the captain and Sam one day. He’s thinking about sending me somewhere I can learn to control my thirst and utilize my new…abilities or whatever,” he grumbled.
You fully sat up now, looking down at him with a stricken expression. His eyes finally moved away from the screen, and he smiled at you, rubbing your back in a soothing manner.
“I’m not going to let him send me away, Y/N, but he’ll definitely try if we tell him what happened.”
You nodded, forcing your heart to slow before you laid back down. Peter’s hand was still on your back, tracing patterns into your, well, his shirt. You listened to his slow heartbeat, the organ pumping what was left of your blood through his body. Your lashes fluttered when he dragged his fingers up to your neck, the appendages playing with the hair there. You found yourself humming when he tightened his hold there, and you looked up in confusion, prepared to ask him what he was doing when his other hand gripped your arm, and he pulled you up.
His lips met yours in a kiss that was nothing like the first one. You gasped against his mouth, and he wasted no time before taking the opportunity to taste the inside of yours. Peter moaned into the kiss, circling both arms around you now as he rolled the both of you over. He settled himself between your parted legs, and you sharply inhaled at the bulge you felt there.
Peter’s hand traveled to your neck again, grasping the hair at the nape, holding you in place as he dragged his mouth down. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as he bit you, throwing your hands out to grasp anything you could. Your right hand hit the lamp on the nightstand, and it fell to the floor with a soft crash. Peter’s other hand pressed into your back, forcing you to arch your chest into his.
His hips were rolling into yours, his clothed member pressing against the most sensitive part of you so deliciously. You let out a soft moan, one hand clawing at his shirt, pushing the fabric up to drag your nails along his back. Peter had you completely pinned in between him and the mattress, every curve of his hips sending pleasure through you.
“Peter,” you moaned, reaching up to drag your hand along the headboard. “Fuck, Peter.”
You could feel your blood crawling past your neck, staining his sheets, but he didn’t seem to care. The bed shook a bit from his movements, and you hooked one leg on his waist as he continued to grind into you. You could feel yourself fading, and you welcomed it, and before you could, one particularly slow roll of his hips sent you over the edge.
You were a moaning mess as you came beneath him, his teeth still embedded in your neck. Your whole body shook, legs practically vibrating as they fell around him, chest heaving as he finally pulled away. He licked at your neck, and your arms fell to the bed, soft murmurs leaving your lips to which Peter chuckled at. He brushed his thumb over your lip before leaning back down, lips grazing your ear.
“Go to sleep,” he whispered. “I’ll be here when you wake up.”
You did, he was, and he greeted you with a kiss, further filling you with confusion as you wondered just what you were. You didn’t want to ruin it, didn’t want to break the spell by trying to make him define this. You simply wanted to enjoy whatever this was, and enjoy it you did.
Every few days or so, you found yourself squirming beneath Peter one way or another. Sometimes he simply pressed kisses along your neck as he rolled his hips into yours, sometimes his teeth were in you, and sometimes his fingers were in you, the sound of it so loud as he thrust them in and out of your fluttering core. The rest of the team was none the wiser as you both satisfied each other in more ways than one. It was usually in the dead of night when everyone else was asleep, and Peter was wide awake.
“Ngh, Peter,” you panted, fingers twisted into his dark locks.
You were completely naked before him, a first, as he swiped his tongue over your wet folds, another first. His own fingers were pressed into your thighs, holding them down in a way that hurt so good. The cool air hit the bite mark on the inside of your left thigh, and you hissed as Peter slid his tongue past your slick walls, tasting every inch of you that he could.
A thin layer of sweat covered your frame, and you realized that you lost track of how long Peter had been alternating between tasting your blood and tasting your lips. His mouth completely covered you, and you shuddered when he sucked on your little bundle of nerves, sharp teeth grazing your sensitive skin.
You could feel your...3rd? 4th? Or was it the 5th climax of the night that you felt approaching? You were so tired, but Peter didn’t seem to have gotten his fill of you, and his lips kissed along your mound before traveling to the space in the crease of your thigh before he swiped his tongue over your thigh itself, the unmarked one. It was dark in the room, and when Peter glanced up at you, dark promises in his eyes, you noted that they almost seemed to glow in the dark, like that of a feline.
He wasted no time before sinking his teeth into your skin again, and you pressed your hand to your mouth to keep from making too much noise. You knew that he’d ordered F.R.I.D.A.Y to soundproof the room, but it was a force of habit by now. Your climax crashed over you like a tidal wave, and that was how you fell asleep that night, with Peter’s face in between your legs, drinking from you in any way he saw fit.

“Look who decided to grace us with her presence,” Bucky sarcastically greeted as you walked into the kitchen the next morning.
Steve threw you a sheepish smile, visibly sorry on Bucky’s behalf for his behavior.
“Cut it out, Buck.”
“I’m just acknowledging that the princess has been holed up in her room more often than not as of late. If I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought you went home, but I noticed that you’re still eating my cereal, the only other person who eats the kind I like, so…”
You rolled your eyes as he trailed off, and he reached out to pull on your shirt as you neared.
“What’s with the turtleneck, squirt? I know it’s freezing outside, but in case you haven’t noticed, it’s 77 degrees in here.”
You tensed at his words, and you ignored the way Steve eyed you over his mug.
“I just think I’m coming down with something is all. I’m a little chillier than usual today,” you lied.
He simply hummed, and that was when you finally noticed his attire. Steve too.
“Are you guys going on a mission?”
“You’d know the answer to that if you actually left your room once in a while,” Bucky grumbled, and Steve lightly shoved his shoulder.
“Yeah, the whole team’s heading out. Well...except…” Steve trailed off, and you nodded. “...but Nat and Sam are supposed to be returning from their assignment today, so they’ll be back later.”
You nodded at Steve’s words, not quite liking the way that he was studying you. You hurriedly poured your own cup of coffee, quietly telling them to “be safe” before moving to get out of Steve’s watchful eye.
Hours later found you and Peter on the couch, hardly paying any attention to the movie before you. You had the compound to yourselves, something you looked forward to, but Peter had other ideas than that of what you were thinking.
“You want to...leave?”
You frowned at him, unsure that you heard him right. Peter was facing you with his elbow on the back of the couch, propping his head up as his other hand traced your collarbone.
“Yeah,” he whispered. “Mr. Stark...I think he’s getting serious about sending me away for a while. I think he suspects us, but I’m not sure.”
You mulled over his suggestion, unsure of how you felt about it.
“They couldn’t even find me last time. I’d make sure they’d never find us,” he told you.
“I...I don’t know. I mean, I love you, but I’d miss everyone else,” you replied.
When you looked to him, he looked surprised, and his lips parted as he blinked at you.
“...what?”
Your brows drew together.
“What?”
He scooted closer, a slow grin forming on his pink lips.
“You love me?”
You scoffed at him.
“Of course. Peter, I’ve been in love with you for as long as I can remember,” you finally confessed.
You thought that it would’ve been obvious by now, but Peter just looked as if you told him he’d won a million dollars. Before you could register it, he reached out to pull you into a kiss. It was passionate and full of yearning...and hungry. You wrapped your arms around his neck and moved closer, Peter’s hand pressing into the small of your back. His lips trailed from your own down to your jaw, pressing kisses there and to your neck. You’d changed shirts as soon as everyone had left.
You knew what he wanted, what he needed, and you welcomed it as he pressed his teeth into your skin. A breathy moan climbed out of your throat as he laid you down. Your heart was going haywire in your chest, the realization that Peter returned your feelings finally hitting you. His hands ran over you, brushing over your breasts and down your sides before he hooked them underneath your thighs.
He pressed his bloody lips to your décolletage, nipping at the skin there before they grazed the swell of your breasts. He bit into the flesh that spilled over the top of your shirt, and you trembled beneath him, a loud moan escaping you. He growled into your skin, fingers pressing into your thighs almost painfully. You weren’t sure how long you remained beneath him, lashes fluttering and lips parted as ecstasy clouded your mind, but eventually, you felt yourself fading in a way you had never felt before.
Your vision blurred, and you could feel your heart starting to slow.
“Peter,” you worriedly murmured.
He seemed preoccupied with releasing himself from his jeans, fingers brushing over you as he reached underneath your skirt. You opened your mouth to protest, but all that came out was a choked sound, the sound transforming into a breathy gasp when he thrust into you.
“Peter,” you weakly called.
You could feel yourself fading fast, and Peter’s own breath was harsh as he drank from you, snapping his hips into yours with every thrust. You could faintly hear a door opening, and you wanted to warn him, but you could hardly move, let alone speak. Darkness creeped along the edge of your vision, and the last thing you heard before going under was a feminine scream.
Tumblr media
You knew that you were in the infirmary before you even opened your eyes. The steady beep of the monitor next to you told you that whatever condition you had been in was pretty serious. You struggled to open them, but when your eyes finally peeled open, you noticed that the room was empty.
“Ms. Y/L/N, you’re awake,” F.R.I.D.A.Y noted. “I will inform Mr. Stark immediately.”
You cringed, squeezing your eyes shut at the mention of the last superhero you wanted to see. You just knew that you were going to get an earful, and you didn’t really care to hear it. You just wanted to know where Peter was and if he was okay.
Tony burst through the doors a lot sooner than you would have liked, and you avoided his eye. He didn’t say anything, and you knew that he was angry, because when did Tony Stark ever have absolutely nothing to say?
“Are you insane?” he finally wondered, and you sighed.
“Where’s Peter?”
“That doesn’t matter right now,” he snapped, and you finally looked at him as he stomped towards your bed. “You could’ve died.”
You shrank underneath his cold stare and harsh words, glancing away.
“Do you get that, Y/N? When Nat and Sam got here…”
He trailed off, face reddening as he was no doubt recalling what he’d been told, probably what he’d even seen thanks to F.R.I.D.A.Y. You watched as he swallowed, releasing a breath.
“Any later, and you would’ve been dead,” he whispered.
“I’m sorry,” you quietly told him. “I just wanted to help him.”
He heaved a long sigh, a tired and exasperated sound.
“I know you love him…”
You frowned at that, wondering if the whole damn team knew.
“...but he needs help from people who can help him. Help him to control himself, hone his new skills, help him so that he doesn’t kill you,” Tony finished, and you blinked back tears. “Go home and let us handle Peter. When the time is right, he’ll be able to see you again.”
The tears finally spilled over, and with a shake of his head, Tony left you. After a few more days in the infirmary, and several blood transfusions later, you did as Tony instructed. It felt strange to be back home after spending nearly 2 months at the compound with Peter. As you entered your room, sitting on your bed, you felt silly.
Tony had been right. You had almost died. You recalled the feel of your life literally slipping away as Peter drank from you, too lost in the taste and feel of you to notice that he was losing control. You had only wanted to help him, and you had ended up making things worse. Was Tony right to treat it like an addiction? Had you hindered Peter more than you helped him? You didn’t know. All you knew was that your actions almost led to your death at Peter’s hand, and that Tony’s actions had not.
You didn’t know where Peter was, but you had faith that he was alright. You hoped that Tony didn’t give him too hard of a time for what he’d done, but you knew that was unlikely. Nat, poor Nat, had literally walked in on him feeding from you and fucking you. There was no telling what the poor woman thought, and you hated the idea of them treating Peter like some wild animal that needed to be caged.
It was 3 nights later when you woke up to the feel of fingers ghosting over the side of your face as you slept. It took you a moment to register what was happening, but when you blinked your eyes open, you were surprised to come face to face with Peter as he stood over you.
“P-Peter?”
You struggled to sit up, and you rubbed your eyes, noting the way his own dark ones lingered on your neck.
“What are you doing here?”
“We’re getting out of here. C’mon,” he said, reaching for you.
You frowned at him, and you watched his own face fall.
“I don’t...I don’t think that’s a good idea,” you honestly told him.
He frowned at you, and guilt tore through you for more reasons than one.
“Don’t listen to Mr. Stark-.”
“Maybe I should’ve. Maybe...maybe he knew what he was talking about,” you said, cutting him off.
His hand fell to his side, and his dark eyes narrowed on you.
“You’re afraid of me,” he murmured.
“No! No...not really-.”
He cut you off with an angry sigh, and you folded your arms over your chest.
“I almost died, Peter!”
You watched the conflict on his features, brows furrowing ever so slightly.
“...and you would’ve never forgiven yourself...and I feel like it’s my fault…”
Peter stood over you, dressed plainly but darkly, chocolate locks kissing his forehead as he stared at you. He didn’t look happy.
“So you’re taking his side,” he surmised.
“I just think you should hear him out,” you whispered. “We tried it our way...and look what happened.”
He didn’t say anything, and neither did you. You sat there, and he stood there, both of you just staring at each other. You watched the way Peter’s jaw clenched, and he suddenly reached out to tangle his fingers in your hair, pulling you into a kiss as he neared. You pressed your hands against his chest, but Peter forced his way onto your bed, knees pressed into the mattress on either side of you as he moved his mouth against yours.
“Mm, Peter,” you protested, turning your head away.
“They think I raped you, you know,” he quietly said, the loud sound of tearing fabric filling the room as he ripped your t-shirt straight down the middle.
Your eyes went wide at his words, and he chuckled, the corner of his lips quirking upwards into a smirk.
“Oh, yeah. They think I coerced you with my new abilities or even just flat out bit you and took you anyway I saw fit,” he whispered.
The irony of the situation was not lost on you, and you desperately fought against him. Your underwear was next, and you were no match against Peter’s newfound strength as he batted your hands away, moving to remove his own clothes.
“They don’t know that I had you squirming beneath me, purring and mewling like a desperate kitten.”
His voice was husky, thick with the desire to sink both his teeth and cock into you. He gripped your legs, separating them like it was nothing despite your efforts to keep them closed.
“They think that you’re bad for me…”
It was embarrassingly easy for him to slide into you, your velvet walls giving him a wet welcome. He sighed out as he pressed into you, dark eyes somehow darker.
“...they think I’ve formed some supernatural bond with you, some kind of blood tie…”
A choked moan slipped past your lips as he started to thrust into you, and Peter leaned down to press kisses to the corner of your mouth.
“...and they might be right, but it only cements what we both know.”
His hands pressed into the sheets beside your head, his labored breathing reaching your ears as he pulled back and snapped his hips into yours again and again. Your head was spinning from the way he dragged his cock through your clenching walls, completely unrelenting in his pace. While this technically wasn’t the first time he fucked you, it was the first time you were coherent enough to truly feel what was happening.
“Peter,” you murmured.
His nose brushed against yours with every thrust, and he released a shaky breath.
“...and what do we both know?”
There was a desperation in his eyes that took you by surprise, and your heart clenched.
“Say it...for me…”
You swallowed, lashes fluttering as he slowed down his thrusts.
“I’m yours.”
His own eyes fell closed at the admission, slowly sinking himself into you, basking in the feel of you wrapped around him.
“You gave me your blood...your body…”
He leaned down to trail kisses along your neck, rolling his hips against yours.
“...and you’ll give me your soul. You’re mine in every way a woman possibly can be. In every way a human can be,” he purred, sharp teeth grazing over your warm flesh.
His words made your stomach flutter, walls clenching around him, and just then, your phone buzzed. Like that first night, it was in your sheets somewhere, and the continuous buzzing told you that it was a phone call. You had a guess as to who it could be and what they wanted.
They were looking for Peter.
You looked to him when he paused, watching as his face darkened. He wrapped his hand around your noisy phone before throwing it at the wall, the device shattering upon impact. His dark eyes met yours again, and he kissed you, stealing your breath away as he moved within you again.
“They want to know if I’m with you...if you’re safe…”
You could feel him smiling against your lips, and your nails pressed into his sides, hanging on as he pushed his knees beneath your thighs, widening your legs and forcing a guttural moan from you.
“They think you’re in danger around me...and they’re probably right, but not the kind of danger they’re thinking of.”
One of his hands fisted itself into your hair, pulling your head back, baring your throat to him, and you knew what was coming.
“You don’t know how much I fought with myself that first night...how badly I wanted to tear into you anyway I could,” he whispered, voice strained. “You were all I thought about when I was attacked...when I changed…”
His hips sped up, the sound of slapping skin filling the room as he pistoned into you.
“For your sake, I’m glad you gave yourself to me, because I planned to take you from the very moment I stepped into your bedroom.”
His teeth pressed into your neck, breaking the skin, and your climax washed over you, euphoria clouding your mind and senses as Peter drank from you. His thrusts didn’t stop, and one hand pressed into the headboard above you, blood staining your pillow as the bed shook from the movement of his thrusts. You knew that Peter was far from done for the night, finally claiming what he felt was rightfully his.

it’s not like you had a problem with the same menial tasks everyday.
in fact, you would even say that it was a fun way to spend your free period. it was better than doing some complicated assignment or even having to talk to people with your lack of sleep and patience. coffee never allowed for a proper nap no matter how exhausted you were and your teacher wouldn’t allow that anyways.
it was an easy job that you could do with minimal help. all you had to do was put the beakers away, clean up the floor once in awhile, maybe pop some bubble wrap when new packages arrived. being alone in the stockroom was nice because you were able to turn on some music on your headphones, do whatever dances you felt like doing as long as you were still doing your job. no help was needed or wanted.
“where should i put this?”
you jump, nearly stabbing the blonde haired boy behind you with a boxcutter. luckily, he was quick, jumping backwards with a yelp as you took a deep breath in to process the situation. you didn’t accidentally hurt the boy in front of you, did you? your face falls and the initial rush of fear turns into guilt. “i’m sorry! i didn’t know you were there!”
“it’s okay,’ he responds with a smile, unphased by the fact his shirt had almost been slashed, ‘i understand. you’re probably here alone most of the time, right?”
“yeah, i wasn’t expecting for anyone else to be here,” you sigh before realizing what he had probably walked in on before the whole ordeal, “wait.. did you see me doing anything?”
“you’re a pretty good dancer if that’s what you’re asking.”
embarrassment. your cheeks feel unbelievably hot and your stomach turns while embarrassment settles in your body. this period was your alone time, your chance to flail about and having someone else witness it? definitely not preferable. although, he does seem nice and he hasn’t made fun of you. not yet, at least.
his voice brings you out of your train of thought. “so, where should i put that thing?”
he carries on as if nothing happened. thank god. “the flask goes in that cabinet, bottom shelf. you’ll see more just like it.” you reply, pointing to the space.
he mumbles a quick thank you before doing unloading more of the new flasks onto the cabinet. you work on your own, choosing to count the new magnets on the other side of the room, doing your best to avoid him considering you just embarrassed yourself in front of the stranger by nearly injuring him for asking a simple question. though, he looks slightly familiar, he’ll probably be gone tomorrow and that’s all that matters.
behind you, yuji takes small glances while he puts away the flasks, waiting for you to turn around and ask for his name. hell, he’s waiting for any type of question. after all, who sees a random boy in their work space and doesn’t question it at all?
when the next day comes, you’re proven wrong because he sits in the chair, awaiting another order from you. you curse under your breath before putting on a faux smile. “do you need help with anything?”
“do you need help with anything?”
“no, thanks. i’m good on my own. you can go back to whatever you do in this period.”
he scratches his head, eyebrows furrowing together. “i thought you needed help. that’s what my math teacher told me when he sent me here.”
“not really? i can usually get a lot done on my own. who told you i needed help?”
“gojo. i’m his teacher assistant, but i don’t know how to do the math he’s teaching, so i can’t really help anyone.” he explains
“oh, yeah! i had him for calculus last semester,” your eyes light up at the mention of your favorite white haired mentor, “weird guy. good teacher.”
wait. gojo’s teacher assistant?
you’ve heard your friends talk about him, given that they were in that exact class the blonde haired boy was supposed to be in right now. the one guy that pe teachers fawn over and coaches try to recruit? why did they put him in the math department instead of pe? what’s his name again? yuki? yugi?
“you’re yuji itadori?”
“yuji itadori.” he confirms and you’re relieved. good thing you didn’t mess up his name.
no wonder he looked familiar. miwa was fascinated by his physical ability, you distinctly remember her pointing him out during lunch and telling you about how he was ‘scarily fast’ and could probably ‘lift ten of her at a time.’ although, it was from far away and he was partially blocked by a girl with short brown hair and megumi, the intimidating spikey haired quiet boy in some of your classes.
but yuji didn’t look like someone who could lift ten miwas up close. maybe he was hiding behind the oversized hoodie he wore, but he was a kind looking boy with wide eyes and messy tufts of strawberry blonde hair. throughout the short time you’ve seen him up close, he always had a slight smile on his resting face. in short, he looked approachable and was seemingly friendly.
“so, do you need help with anything?” he asks again and you decide that maybe he can be of use to you. especially if he has the strength that miwa had described.
“actually, yeah. can you lift those boxes over there and bring them to the other side of the room? they’re kind of heavy-”
she was correct because he lifts the box, which is supposedly about thirty kilograms according to your teacher, with ease. now, you don’t have to constantly go back and forth around the room just to put the packaged metal away in a farther cabinet and he can probably just put them away himself, too. it goes that way for the next hour and a half, both of you staying in your respective sides of the room, putting away your own respective items.
“thanks, itadori.”
“call me yuji.”
“will do.”
over the next two weeks, you two don’t talk as much as yuji had hoped.
he still remembers gojo’s words of encouragement, his push to get his favorite student to talk to the person who drops off notes to the teacher across the hallway from time to time. he’s never talked to you and he doubts you would even know that he existed in the first place. in fact, he was perfectly content with just stapling the papers that gojo would give him, maybe getting his own homework done in the period, but he was insistent.
“i’ve seen you staring outside the window whenever they pass by, yuji. just talk to them.”
“it’s okay.’
“no it’s not. get to know her. what if they’re nice? hmmmmm?”
“i’ll talk to her myself at some point.”
that was all it took for gojo to leave him alone, not that he didn’t like gojo or anything, especially with gojo being his second favorite teacher in the first place, but he’s content with his little crush. and again, he doubted that you would remember him in your history class and from the looks of it, he was right.
he just didn’t expect to be sent at the very stockroom that you would be in. for the rest of the semester. gojo had definitely set him up for something.
yuji was in that conflicting position in which he didn’t know whether to start a conversation or not because he didn’t want to bother you. but he also wanted to get to know you up close. of course he can sense your exhaustion himself through droopy eyelids that threaten to close and your dependence on caffeine, something he had learned about you so far in these few weeks. the only thing, it seems like.
as for you, a short talk with your science teacher confirmed that he wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon and though you will miss dancing around the stockroom by yourself, he wasn’t bad company. he mostly kept to himself, often being more rigid when you barely spared him a glance. at the times you would speak to him, he seemed more excitable and easygoing, listening to every word you say.
“yuji?”
“hmm?”
“come help me by unboxing these beakers, alright?” you patted the spot next to you before sliding the blade down the tape, “don’t worry. i’m not gonna stab you.”
“i guess i’ll help,” he snorts, “don’t you usually do these by yourself?”
“yeah, but since you’re spending the semester with me in here, we might as well get to know each other right?”
the whirring of the fan, the sound of your voice — it all seemed to fade into the background as his heart thumped hard in his chest. a million thoughts, both good and bad, race through his head as he formulated different questions, answers, and scenarios in his mind, all of them being a jumble of fantasy and panic.
you wave a hand in front of his face in an attempt to catch his attention. he seemed completely frozen, staring at you with dead eyes and it’s now that you realize you haven’t seen him up this close. honey brown eyes, the soft curve of his nose, and were those crinkles under his eyes, too? up until now, you only knew him as the ‘athletic man who was bad at math’, but he was also undeniably beautiful with his carved face and strawberry blonde hair.
“yuuuuuuuji?”
“oh! i’m sorry! did you say you wanted to get to know me?”
“yeah, we’re kind of stuck in this room everyday for an hour and a half together. i might as well find out what your favorite color is or something.”
“red! my turn! what were you listening to when you almost stabbed me?”
“hey! it was an accident!” he giggles, slicing the tape seal down the middle and opening up the package and pointing right at it. “you see that? that could have been me. i should at least know what i’m being stabbed to.”
“meg thee stallion..”
“nevermind. she’s beautiful and i wouldn’t mind dying to her music.”
you snort, thinking up another question. maybe you should ask him about why that megumi guy was so gloomy? nope, might get too personal. what about the reason he’s here? nope, you already know.
“why don’t you do any sports even though you’re literally physically gifted?” you ask curiously. there’s still a smile on his face, but his expression becomes more wistful. you didn’t accidentally hit a spot, did you?
“my grandpa is in the hospital,” oh shit, you think, “i visit him everyday and if i was on a team, i would have to go to practice at the same time.”
“i’m sorry. i didn’t mean to hit a sensitive topic, but that’s sweet of you.’
“i don’t mind. and i’m sorry if i made you uncomfortable.”
“no, it’s alright. let’s just keep asking questions then, okay?”
he nods.
in one hour, you learn that yuji itadori also likes karaoke, rice bowls, and that he’s just as bad at science than math. ironic. and yuji enjoys getting to know more about you, falling into easy conversation, becoming less of a nervous wreck. the more you speak, the deeper he falls into the trance and he silently thanks gojo for letting him get a closer look because you’re even better than what he could have imagined.
but the period is coming to an end and it’s time for him to carry off the last box of beakers to his side of the room. at least there’s time for another question and it’s his turn to ask.
“what’s your type?”
you place your fingers on your chin as you think for a moment, finding a common trait in every crush for a proper answer.
“i guess my type would be sweet boys. with pretty faces, like you, i guess.”
the response is nonchalant and you don’t think twice about it. maybe you were a little too tired to process how he’d interpret it or maybe a little too tired to filter yourself, but it slips out of your mouth like butter and you’re completely unphased. shameless, even.
meanwhile, the box drops to the ground and like before, every other noise besides his own heartbeat fades into the background, even the sound of shattering glass. heat creeps of his neck into his cheeks until his face is burning, his feet stuck in their place and his palms becoming uncomfortably sweaty. his mouth is wide open, but no words come out.
“yuji! we need to clean this, hurry up!”
your voice brings him out of his thoughts as he realizes what’s been done and immediately snaps back to carefully, but quickly, picking up the shards of glass and placing them in this box. “i-i’m sorry!”
“don’t worry. just leave the box on the counter and we’ll deal with it tomorrow.”
maybe you didn’t quite realize what you had said or what effect you had on him during that time in the stockroom because you continue everyday as if nothing happened.
it’s been, what? a little over a three weeks? and sitting next to you still causes his mind to go to odd places, ones with you. he starts to notice little things about you, too. how your tongue peaks out of your mouth when you’re peeling another sheet of bubble wrap off of some glassware, how you only count in even numbers when you take inventory of the containers.
god, you were adorable.
“yuji?”
“yeah?”
“did gojo ever tell you that there’s no cameras in here?”
“no? i thought they had security cameras everywhere.”
“that’s only hallways and classrooms. there’s none of them here. do you know what that means?”
“what?”
his head is already turned in your direction, the perfect opportunity to lean in and catch his lips. it’s small and he’s hesitant at first, but before you know it, your hands tangle in his hair, bringing him closer to you. he tastes like something sweet, like cherries, and his lips are warm. one hand rests on your cheek, his thumb brushing against it endearingly. when he pulls away, both of you are panting for air, the packages long forgotten.
“this sounds bad, but i’m glad that you’re terrible at math.”
“thanks.” he laughs and admires the look of your heated cheeks and swollen lips before pulling you back in for another searing kiss.
sure. being in that room by yourself could be fun, a perfect break with menial tasks lacking human interaction. you were far too tired to be patient with other people. but there was an exception.

I *DEMAND* part 3 of shattered pearl. I repeat. I *DEMAND*.
Hahahahaha omg. Well, I decided to legitimately dig through the archives of my writing drafts and found chapter three of the Peeta-Wasn’t-Hijacked fic. It’s been given like 1,000 different names on different sites. I’ve never loved any of them. And I don’t really think this is my best writing ngl. But I also figure ... why be so stingy, ya know? If I have an incomplete draft, that I probably won’t finish, why not post a little bit? Especially since I literally left everyone and their brother who were reading this fic on a cliffy for over a year.
With that said.... I wrote this part like ... 15 months ago? 14 ? 13 ? Something like that. And I haven’t edited it since so ... yeah! Here’s a small chunk of chapter three! 🥳🥳🥳 Hope it’s better than I remember it being!
But it’s lacking something and it’s only then I realize, what I’m searching for inside Gale’s mouth, is the spark that only Peeta’s ever ignited in me. I keep waiting in vain for the warmth that started in my stomach and then rose up and exploded in my chest, for the craving that no matter what I couldn’t manage to satisfy, for the thrilling, almost hysterical, tingly feeling, to overcome me and leave me lightheaded in a completely foreign way. A way that couldn’t be attributed to lack of oxygen.
But it never does. I pull back and wipe my mouth carelessly on my arm and sigh, already sensing Gale’s demeanor taking a nose dive at my lackluster reaction.
I’m not disappointed when I look to see his expression. His eyes are frustrated, his mouth is downturned, his eyebrows are pinched together. And I feel as bad as I knew I would. Because no matter what, I’m hurting someone I deeply care for.
But how I feel upon seeing Gale’s face isn’t even comparable to the amount of remorse that fills me, that overtakes my entire being, when I see Peeta standing in the doorway, having watched our entire exchange.
/
I yelled his name as he disappeared down the hall. I tried to rip out all the needles and wires connecting me to the machines and the stiff, sterilized bed but Gale used all his strength to push me down flat. I was overpowered and exhausted and my left side was screaming mercilessly, and I don’t even know what pain was the bruised lung and what pain was my hurt ribs and what pain was my heart violently smashing into the pit of my stomach.
All I know is that if I had been able to reach Peeta before he evaporated, I have no clue what I would have said to him.
What I could have said to make it alright.
Gale tried to talk to me again after that but I entirely tuned him out, no longer caring if I wounded his feelings, or anyone else's for that matter.
It seems like no matter what I do, no matter how careful or cautious or preemptive I try to be, someone still got hurt in the end.
I wish I could just shut out the world, like I did during those first few weeks in Thirteen. Hide inside closets when I had a flashback. Shove myself into a minuscule crawl space with every nightmare. Refuse to speak to anyone who wasn't Gale or my family. Only eat when my mother nearly forced me. Show no remorse for how rude or how clinically insane I came across.
But now there was an agreement in place, an agreement I made to protect the victors—namely the one who just disappeared down the hall on me—and the people who had no voice on their own. The people who’s only chance was a half-crazed, shell-shocked, battle worn seventeen year old girl, who was just gunned down on national television.
Even if I wanted to retreat to some safe haven inside my head—if such a thing even existed for me—like Annie Cresta, I knew it could never happen.
For me, that wasn’t an option. If I don’t fulfill my duties to Coin, Peeta, Johanna, Annie and probably countless more people will suffer. The districts would undoubtably suffer. Gale would suffer. My mother and Prim would suffer.
I was proven right when later that same night Plutarch came to visit me again. I'd been lying on my side to avoid having to see Gale, who was still soldered to my bedside. My good side was thankfully opposite his seat.
When the Gamemaker spoke I thought I would be forced back to work. Forced to head back to the rebels and engage in their plans.
And I was resigned to it, well aware all along that I wouldn't be given the luxury of time to grieve the hurt I just caused Peeta. Or even the pain I knew I was inflicting upon Gale. The constant seesaw my heart was bouncing up and down on.
I was endlessly thankful that I was still pumped with morphling when Plutarch said that I was needed in Coin's office, because it heavily suppressed any real emotion I had brewing deep inside.
Morphling can cause you to let down your guard sometimes, make you say or do things you wouldn't otherwise or allow things to happen you'd ordinarily have the sense to stop. But it also causes all your severe emotions, all your heightened feelings, to dull as well. And for that, in light of everything that had just transpired, I was eternally grateful for.
When the doctor had removed all the needles from my arm, and I had been given a robe to go over my hospital gown—which, shockingly, was even uglier and thinner and itchier than the gowns they gave in the Capitol hospitals—Gale escorts me down the halls, through the corridors and to President Coin’s office.
I don’t speak to him the entire time. Looking at him makes my stomach churn with remorse and regret, though I’m not even sure who those feelings are directed towards. I’m not even sure how to articulate the way I feel right now.
And, as much as I try to force him out of my mind—as much as I do my best to rip him out from wherever he crawled beneath my skin and flooded into my veins—I inexplicably miss Peeta.
In more ways than I even know how to decipher. Even inside my own head.
I thought that feeling of longing would have ebbed away once he was rescued from Snow and his twisted mansion, but even knowing he’s safe here in Thirteen, I still crave his presence next to me.
I still want him next to me almost all the time.
It’s at least partially attributable to the fact that for so long, it was me and Peeta against the world. He has been my partner in this whirlwind rollercoaster since the first games and, even when I feel like every single aspect that could potentially go wrong has, sometimes it seems like I couldn’t have gotten luckier with who was chosen that fateful reaping to stand by my side the entire horrific ride.
I wipe my eyes as inconspicuously as I can but Gale sees and almost instinctively puts his hand on my shoulder. And proves he knows me better than I give him credit for. “I’ll talk to him, Katniss.”
“Don’t,” I immediately hiss. “You’ll just make it worse, Gale. He-he,” I struggle with explaining what I want to say and I curse my best friend for even addressing my moment of weakness because now I have to go talk to Coin, looking like an unstable mess—with a near bullet wound—and I blurt out the very first thing I can think of. “He doesn’t even know you, okay? You’ll just-“
There’s no malice in Gale’s voice as he softly replies, “Well, he was fine when I went and saw him before you woke up.”
I stop now, dead in my tracks. “You saw him? After I was shot?”
He nods slowly. “Yeah, I felt like should check on him. I know...” He pauses and looks upwards and I recognize, once again, this whole thing isn’t easy for him either. “I know he means a lot to you. And I heard what happened when he saw you go down. So I went and checked in on him...” He stops again before shrugging nonchalantly. “He was calmer by the time I saw him. He was nice. He’s always been nice.” At that Gale rolls his eyes. “Too nice. Probably why Snow wanted to hurt him.”
I start walking again, moving ahead of him a few paces. “You’re not helping,” I state, my voice a monotone.
“I’ll talk to him,” Gale offers again, running to catch up.
“Please don’t, okay? Just let it be. I don’t even know if he’ll speak to me, I don’t want to have to worry about what you’ll say to him.”
I vigorously shake off his hand on my shoulder when he tries to comfort me again, and feel him root into place as I make the rest of the way to Coin’s office.
And I wonder if I hurt him now too.
I wonder if I managed to completely annihilate them both from me in one night.
/
Much to my surprise and, to be completely honest, my utter disappointment, Coin doesn’t want me to head back out and fight for the rebellion. She doesn’t want me to even film more propos.
Plutarch does, but his ideas now are pretty frivolous and have more to do with him being still stuck in the fantasy of putting on a good show and less to do with fighting for the good of the country.
Coin simply says, “You did your job, Miss Everdeen. You united the districts,” in her calm, disingenuous—completely unsettling—tone.
And argument I put up is met with a simple shake of the head and a pursing of her lips. All indisputable rejections, her cold, blank eyes telling me wordlessly that in no way could I sway her once her mind was made up.
Still doesn’t stop me from trying though.
“I want to help the rebels,” I plead, looking to Boggs behind Coin’s chair, his face still stoic but his eyes giving me a look that isn’t altogether dismissive.
That was something. It was more than I was getting from either Coin or Plutarch.
Coin though brushes off my words and cuts me down infuriatingly quick with a single sentence. “Plutarch wanted to see Peeta earlier, talk about some propos. But when he sent for him, one of the doctors working with Peeta said he wasn’t having a good day.”
Her tone is smooth and pleasant enough but there was an undercurrent to her words that she knew I would hear. “Do you know how Peeta is? I would have thought with your waking up this morning, he’d be in better shape than he was but if you two aren’t getting-“
“Me and Peeta are fine,” I snap, not liking whatever she’s implying.
She nods, slowly at me, choosing her next sentiment carefully. “Well, let’s hope so. We need both of you now to remain the faces of this revolution. And I wouldn’t want you to do anything rash because of... problems between you and your... between you and Peeta.”
I’m shaking my head, feigning certainty, before she even finishes. “That’s not why I want to help the rebels,” I insist firmly.
“Irregardless, Miss Everdeen, we don’t have a job for you. You aren’t qualified to go into the fight and we no longer need your propos to unite the districts. Your job is done. Thank you for your help.”
And I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I’m being definitively dismissed now. Indefinitely.
I don’t make any effort to keep my cool, instead choosing to storm out of the room, slamming the door cacophonously behind me and wonder why I let that woman get to me so much. Why her words and implications slice me open like a knife.
Why no matter how much I try, I just can’t like her.
Something about her rubs me the wrong way and, once again, I wish Peeta was here with me in the room, because he of all people could understand what about Coin felt off and strange and so familiar.
I curse myself again, as I suddenly miss him even more than before.
Unable to force myself to put my focus elsewhere—especially now that Gale is surely angry too—I change directions and head towards the recovery room.
I don’t even knock before entering. I push the door open, only to find him sitting on top of his bed, a sketchbook in hand, a lot more tranquil than I pictured.
He looks up as I enter—and then, simultaneously freeze in the doorway, like the coward I truly am inside. Before he can speak though, I blurt out, “I know you’re mad about me kissing Gale and I don’t know how much you saw or heard, but it wasn’t... it wasn’t exactly...” I stop because once again, I’m unprepared and out of my element and have no rhyme or reason in what I’m trying to say. I don’t know the right thing to say. I never know the right thing to say.
Maybe if I did, I wouldn’t screw always everything up. “It wasn’t,” I finally force myself to continue, off his patient and somewhat bewildered glance. “It wasn’t what I wanted... I didn’t want it to happen. I don’t, I don’t even know what-“
He finally puts me out of my misery now. “Katniss,” he speaks my name along with a sigh. I watch carefully, feeling a lump build in my throat, as his blonde brows furrow over his baby blues.
He shakes his head, slow and calm. Far more reasonable than I ever anticipated. “I’m not mad at you, Katniss,” he promises, with all the genuineness in the world.
I bite my lip, befuddled by his words. “But... where have you been then?” Why did you leave me? A small voice in the back of my mind demands.
He shrugs, his gaze falling down to his bed now. His demeanor is almost embarrassed, I realize with a start.
“I wanted to give you and Gale space. I’ve been practically mauling you since you woke up so I thought-“
“But I didn’t want you to leave,” I abruptly burst out, unable to shove the words down any longer.
A pang of embarrassment shoots through me though, for the pathetic crack, evident in my tone. And I mentally berate myself.
Not for the embarrassment. For the pathetic crack itself.
And for the fact that somehow I’m the frenzied one here and Peeta is the voice of reason.
Which used to be our norm but after everything that’s transpired, I would have thought things would be reversed by now.
He just stares at me for a long moment, carefully considering his next words.
Finally, he opens his arms slowly and utters, “Come here,” in a tender murmur and I practically fly into his arms before I can second guess the offer.
I feel my injured side screaming as I curl up like a ribbon in his arms, but I surpress the wince to the best of my ability and instead bury my face in his shoulder, breathing in his sweet scent like a mad girl.
He softly presses his lips to my messy locks, carefully massaging the back of my head soothingly. “I’m sorry I ran away,” he whispers, barely loud enough for even me to hear. “I was just embarrassed. I know—I’ve always known deep down—that it’s not right for me to constantly hold you to the things you said in the games. Or to project my own feelings onto you.”
“You didn’t,” I refute venomously, my brows knitting together.
“Katniss, I know you and Gale have had something between you for a long time.”
“Gale was just a friend until me and you came back from our first games. Maybe he wanted to be more even before, I don’t know, but I never felt anything romantic for him. I swear.”
“You don’t have to defend your feelings to me,” he states softly.
“I know, it’s just...” I sigh, moving to sit upright across his thighs. “No matter what I do, it’s wrong. If I say I’m confused, you’re both hurting. If I say I want to kiss you or sleep with you or just be with you, I’m leading you on because I can’t-I can’t make any promises about my feelings right now, because I don’t even know up from down anymore. And if I say I do or don’t want to kiss Gale or be around him or hunt with him still, I’m hurting him or giving him the wrong idea or telling him the wrong things, and it all gets confused and there’s an entire rebellion that I’m the face of, and now I don’t even know if I’m a part of that, but Snow and his followers all hate me still so I know family still won’t be safe until this is all over. And you. You and Johanna and Annie went through the ringer over me. And Gale gets upset whenever he sees us together—it hurts him to see us—but I can’t always seperate you two from one another and I just-I don’t know what I can do. I don’t know what to do anymore.”
Peeta lets me rant the whole entire spiel out, his hand slowly moving in circles to rub my back, from the top of my spine down to my backside. “Katniss,” he whispers once I’m done. “You don’t have to defend yourself to me. I get it. You’re under immense pressure. The last thing I want to do is make things harder on you.”
“You’re not,” I say, shaking my head insistently. “You’re not making anything worse, Peeta. It’s-it’s not you.”
“Okay,” he concedes and unconsciously wraps me up tighter in his arms. “Just relax, okay? Relax and breathe.”
I quiver and quake against him. “I don’t think I can.”
I barely realize I’m crying until Peeta leans down to kiss my tearstained cheek softly. “Katniss, it’s okay. I’m not mad. And Gale shouldn’t be. If he is, then that’s on him. The rebellion isn’t just your responsibility. Do not let them put all that weight on your shoulders. I know they already have but it’s not all your responsibility. And no one is going to let anything happen to your mom or sister.” He pushes my hair away from my forehead, pressing his lips there for a long moment. “Or you. I promise I will not let anything else happen to you.”
I swallow hard as he rests his forehead against my temple. I squeeze my eyes shut in hopes that it will make my head stop spinning somehow. Deep breaths to center myself fail miserably and in the end, I feel my bruised ribs and lung disagree with the movement and ache worse than before.
Peeta feels me cringing against him in pain and remains careful as he shifts, reaching for something off his bedside table.
I’m in too much pain to react as pushes off my robe and tugs my hospital gown down in order to slide against my skin, his hand holding it firmly to my side.
The icy temperature brings some sort of relief to me almost instantly, and I let out an audible sigh of relief, feeling my rigid body relax even a minuscule amount for the first time.
“I don’t blame you for having feelings for Gale,” Peeta murmurs, drawing my attention back to our conversation and away from my painful left side. “And if you want to be with him, I won’t hold it against you. I’m not going to lie, I’d be ... sad but... it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t still be your friend. It doesn’t mean I wouldn’t still be at jere for you however you needed me. There’s no ultimatums here, Katniss. I’m still here for you, even if you’d rather be with Gale.”
I pause for a long moment, absorbing his words. He’d be willing to be my friend, even if I hurt him? Even if I chose someone else over him? Even after everything we went through, even after all the ways he’d been abused because Snow could see how much I care for him? How much I need him. He’s still willing to put it all aside and be there for me, no strings attached.
And I try not to compare but my brain draws the conclusion almost involuntarily, and I can’t stop myself from realizing that, in the same position, Gale would likely not be telling me the same thing.
I burrow my face deeper in his shoulder, shutting my eyes in exhaustion.
Peeta catches me off-guard, moving my hair aside to kiss my neck, eliciting a flare of heat in the place where his lips brush my skin, and I may not know exactly how I feel, but I know in that moment exactly what I want right now.
“The only person I want to be with tonight is you,” I whisper honestly, looking up at him with pleading eyes, begging him to somehow understand an emotion I don’t know how to admit. “The only person I want right now is you, Peeta.”

hi! could i request some dad!jim finding out you’re pregnant (but it’s very unplanned and you both are like very young adults who are definitely not ready for something like this) but he’s very excited nonetheless? thanks! <333
A/N: hello!! Thank u for requesting this 🥺💖 hope u like it!! I tried to make it pretty fluffy but ofc theres a little angst hehe. This is basically already a given but just in case - Jim is 18+ in this.
Warnings: angst revolving around being pregnant and just.. general mentions of everything that has to do w being pregnant LOL, bit of Jim being insecure for 2 like seconds, lots of fluff
As much as you would like to claim that it was a typical Friday night; to your absolute dismay you found it was proving to be quite the opposite. Instead of enjoying the night and going out with your boyfriend like you had previously planned to do - you were curled up on your bed.. in tears.
You told yourself earlier today that by now you would've pulled your shit together; atleast enough to go see Jim at the bowling alley like you had planned but.. of course, that didn't happen. Things never seemed to go according to plan as of lately.
You currently stayed buried under far too many blankets on your bed.. not bothering to watch TV or go on your phone (going on your phone would only force you to see all of the missed messages and calls you had gotten from Jim) so - you settled on listening to the stormy weather outside your window instead. Rain battering against your glass window helped distract you from your current unwanted, rational thoughts but.. it was soothing and distracting atleast. It helped you take your mind off of the problem you were currently dealing with.. which, had to do with your current state of being.
The past couple of days you had felt odd.. to say the least. At first you merely thought you were coming down with the flu; you had all of the symptoms. Like nausea, aches and pains.. but there was also some inconsistencies that started to make you question whether it was really the flu, because you didnt have a high temperature.. And thats when you conveniently missed your period.
You knew you didn't have the fucking flu.
A pregnancy test sat on your nightstand; the box it came in was discarded on the floor amongst other.. various trash. You had taken the test hours ago; and you were right about your suspicions of your illness not being the flu. The two pink lines on the pregnancy test confirmed your previous thoughts.. and that's what prompted your episode of you staying in your bed all day.
Your first instinct was to call Jim but.. you knew you couldn't do that. There was no fucking way you were ready to let him in on what was happening. You knew that you two were both completely unprepared to be parents; for multiple reasons. You were both extremely young, neither of you had super steady jobs and.. it just wasnt the right time. That's what you kept telling yourself anyway. The more you denied what was probably going to become your reality made you feel more in control and safe than how you currently felt.
However; you still were yearning to call Jim and to tell him to come over but you also didn't want to let him in on the fact that anything was wrong. He had more than enough on his plate as it was with his chaotic family (and even calling them chaotic was a nice way of putting it).. you knew that Jim didn't deserve to deal with how you were acting right now but; you were selfish. Even though you knew Jim would be better off not knowing, you still wanted nothing more than for him to hold you and tell you everything was going to be okay.. even if it was a lie.
Your train of thought was suddenly interrupted once you heard the front door of your house unlock and click open. You immediately jolted up in your bed and pushed your blankets off of you. Attempting to smooth out your clothes as fast as possible; immediately knowing that it had to be Jim Mason. After all, only one person had a key to your house besides you..
You heard his footsteps start to grow gradually louder as he approached your room.
"(Y/n)?" Jim's voice was loud and high pitched as he called out to you.
It startled you a bit to hear how concerned he sounded, but you quickly bounced out of bed and flew to the door - opening it quickly just to find Jim a foot away.
"Jim," you breathed out with relief.
You rushed over to him and greeted him with a harsh hug. Completely disregarding how startled he looked, and instead relishing in how truly happy you felt he was finally here.. but you knew that the complications of him being in your room with you now also meant he would know of your situation in no time at all. You knew there was absolutely no way you could hide it now.. fuck.
You felt one of his hands rub up and down your back - loosely following the curvature of your spine in a soothing way. You let yourself exhale a few shaky breaths; letting the anxiety leave you with every exhale as you tried to fully relax - knowing damn well that Jim was probably going to ask you for a explanation soon. You hesitated before breaking free from his arms to speak.
"How did you know to come?" You asked; your words spoken quietly and delicately.
You and Jim locked eyes as he stared at you - his blue eyes were swarmed with confusion. He looked at you as if he didn't know the answer to the question you had just asked; almost like you had spoken in a different language entirely.
"W-what do you mean? Of course I came.. we had a date tonight and I got worried when you no showed. Is everything okay?" he stumbled on his words; alluding to the fact that he felt uncertain in himself.
You felt your stomach drop as you heard his words. Oh fuck, your date. You and Jim's date was something you had totally forgotten about after seeing your test results.. you instantly felt horrible. The feelings of guilt, anxiety and fear that started to creep into your system was too overwhelming and too much to handle all at once. You took a few steps back from him; partially retreating back into your room.. hoping he wasnt here to solely yell at you or make you feel even guiltier than you already felt.
"Holy shit. I totally forgot, Jim. I'm so sorry," you admitted; your voice cracking.
You were aware of how your words sounded like a pathetic excuse but.. you were hoping that Jim knew you better than to think that lowly of you. You wanted to say more to help your case but you knew you couldn't.. how could you even explain this situation to him without fully explaining?
Jim slowly approached you, only just to brush past your shoulder and go into your room. He stood close to the center, turning around and seemingly examining the objects and state of your room whilst you continued to stay underneath the doorframe. Watching him in horror as every sense of yours heightened with fear of what he was really doing or thinking.. praying he wouldn't see the pregnancy test you left stupidly on your nightstand.
Your chest was aching now with the unbearable amount of anxiety your heart was infected with. Sweat was starting to grow on your skin; everything nearly moving in slow motion as you watched Jim move to look at your nightstand and then-
"Your room is a mess," he says with a chuckle.
He turns to make eye contact with you for a split second before going over to your bed. Pushing your blankets off to the side  before sitting on the edge, and patting a spot off to his left - urging you to join him.
A soft laugh finds it's way to your lips as you exhale with glee and relief.. but you still try your best to act casual and nonchalant for the time being. You walk over and sit next to him, a bit closer than you had originally intended too but Jim automatically wraps an arm around your shoulders. Coercing your body to melt right next into his.
"I miss our date, and act like the worst fucking girlfriend in the world and all you have to say is that my room is a mess?" you said with a laugh.
Jim is quiet at first, but the newfound silence isn't awkward. However, before you can avert your gaze somewhere else - he puts a finger under your chin so that you're forced to make eye contact with him.
"Dont ever say that about yourself when you know that's not true. I would never think something like that about you."
The pain that lived in your heart so vividly only moments before, struck once more. It was clear as day that he was hurt, but it wasnt by your actions. It was your words that did the damage instead.
"I'm sorry, I just.. I'm not feeling the most like myself right now," you tried your best to not clench your jaw as you spoke.
You figured that from this point forward you were going to have to chose your words very carefully.. but you also knew that Jim deserved the truth.
You started to get restless with anxiety, even with Jim's arm still around you (which had now dropped south to your waist). You gaze fell down to your hands.. the urge to just stand up and escape this inevitable conversation that you knew was going to happen was stronger than ever; but you knew that if you were going to be honest with Jim - you had to start now. It was now or never. Jim seemed to notice that you had more to say because he stayed silent, watching you as you sat with your mouth ajar - trying to find the right words.
"I'm not sorry for just missing the date earlier.. There's something else," you sorely admit.
You felt sick with anxiety as you felt Jim's arm pull away from you.
"Something else?" He spoke timidly.
He stood up; taking a few steps backwards away from you as his brows furrowed and his jaw clenched. You knew you would have to speak fast before anger completely took over him.
"Yes but.. it's not what you think," you stood up and walked over to him.
You took his hands into yours.. pretending to try to not notice how he slightly recoiled from your touch - his hands limp as you held them.
"I've been feeling really different lately.. I've been sick.. and i know it's not the flu or the cold, Jim."
As soon as your words left your mouth - it was almost as if Jim knew exactly what you meant. It was nearly impossible to try to not laugh at his reaction - seeing how his entire demeanor changed so fast. You felt his grip start to tighten on your hands. His blue eyes suddenly held so much emotion and pure joy in them.. His happiness was so infectious that you couldn't help but to smile too.
"Wait.. Your-"
"Yeah. I'm pregnant," you spoke with a giggle.
Jim fully smiled this time and let out a loud, full laugh.
"You're pregnant?? Why didn't you tell me?"
He let go of your hands and enveloped you into a tight hug. You wrapped your arms around him without any hesitation; so happy that he was taking this news greatly but.. you still couldn't help but to feel sort of unsettled  still about how unprepared you two truly were.
You broke away from the hug; and took a step back. Nervously holding your hands together as you spoke.
"I mean.. we're so young, Jim. I wasnt sure this was something you even wanted, or that you would be ready for."
"Is this something that you want? And I mean in regards to us. This is a big deal and this would mean that-" Jim's voice started to shake as he spoke.
You almost could feel his insecurity seeping through his words. You knew exactly what he was getting at - this meant that you two would essentially be settling down. Previously in your life; the idea of settling down so early fucking terrified you but.. with Jim, you would be willing to do anything. As long as he was by your side, you weren't scared and you knew you had no reason to be. Everything happened for a reason and after all.. maybe this was the perfect time for this to happen. You and Jim had been through so much thus far - you knew you both deserved to have some stability and to have something that was genuinely good for once. Although the exact details of how you would make it work were still murky; living out the rest of your life in domestic bliss really didn't seem like the worst option at the moment.. If anything, it was starting to look like the best.
You put one finger up to his lips to shush him - looking at his light blue eyes before muttering, "shut up and kiss me, Jim Mason. Of course I want you."
Your finger fell off from his lips; and your hands gently moved to his face. Before your lips had even met- you felt his hands at your back. Pulling you in closer.. closer.. and closer until the distance between you two had completely dissipated. Your lips moved together at first in a tortuously, agonizingly slow manner. It was soft and tender; yet needy. As much as you wanted things to escalate and pick up -  you thrived in the delicious slow burn that Jim was putting you through.
All fear and anxiety you had previously felt completely melted away and was replaced with utter euphoria. Every fiber of your being felt as if it was on fire; you felt like you were glowing. Your senses being completely occupied with Jim only made your feelings of contentment grow. The smell of Jim (a mixed combination of the ocean, bonfire and cigarette smoke), the taste of Jim (which tasted faintly of energy drinks along with a bit of saltiness that was reminiscent of the ocean) made you feel like you were in heaven.  The one and only coherent thought that ran through your mind was: Jim, Jim, Jim.
Your hands moved from his soft, burning cheeks to his hair, while you let your other hand drop down to his back near his shoulders. Your fingers ran through his hair; pulling a bit on a few random strands when you felt his teeth sink into your bottom lip gently.. You heard a groan expel from his throat in response to this; which only made you smile into the kiss - and then giggle which of course; unfortunately ended you and Jim's kissing escapade. You two didn't fully pull apart from eachother though. Jim took a step or two back but he chose to hold onto your hands.. refusing to let you completely escape his embrace.
"I would be lying if I were to say I wasnt nervous, you know," he said.
You hesitated for a second before swiftly leaning in and kissing the side of his mouth - choosing to stay a little closer in proximity this time when you parted. If it wasnt for him bringing it up - you would've completely forgot the conversation you two were having prior to the kiss. Your hand resided on the side of his face as you looked into his eyes.
"Its okay. I'm nervous too but.. were in this together. Me and you," you stated with a reassuring smile which Jim only mirrored.
"That's all I need," Jim replied softly.
You knew in that exact moment that you had absolutely no reason to dwell or worry about the future when you had someone like Jim to rely on. Even with the future being as uncertain as it currently was; having Jim's love was really all you needed.
Jim insisted to stay over for the night; even though you tried your best to assure him you'd be fine - he didn't believe you.. and your kind of glad he didn't. You quickly realized that trying to make solid plans for the future would be for another day; for when every time you tried to speak - Jim shut you up with a kiss but you weren't complaining.. how could you, when this is what you wanted so badly? The comfort of knowing you would have Jim forever by your side was enough to let you fully relax and melt into the moment with him.. and let the future become something that you could have dreams about later.

Honeytea Pt 3
Kyoya X Fem reader, Hikaru x Fem reader, Kyoya Angst, Hikaru slowburn
warnings: none
word count: 1.4k
songs to listen while reading: Your Power by Billie Eilish
(no pictures cuz there wasn't really any imagery this chapter <3)
“Hey my house is just a 5 minute drive from here, we could go there if you wanna talk more in private.”
The statement caught you more off guard than it should have, deep deep down it would be nice talking to Hikaru in a more private setting but you knew you couldn’t.
“Oh” was all that you could get out, you looked down to the floor quickly trying to think of something to say. “I’m sorry It’s just that... I’m a married woman and that would be improper for me to do-”
“Oh no no no I completely understand, I’m sorry that was inappropriate of me to offer.” you could see the heat rushing to his face as he turned a slight crimson shade. There was an awkward silence for a couple seconds, then you decided to speak up.
“There’s a park not too far from here, remember the one we used to go to all the time? it’s probably not as crowded by now since most people are at work so we could talk there” As you said that you could see Hikaru’s face lighten up. “Alright let’s go then”
You both walked to the park in a pleasant silence, a slight summer breeze leaving your legs feeling a little cold. You didn’t realize how much you missed your high school life at Ouran till you got a little taste of it as you hung out with Hikaru, all those memories flooding back hit you out of nowhere.
When you finally got to the park you decided to just sit under a tree since the sun was burning your skin and there were no free benches. You sat down and braced yourself for the inevitable questions that were to come.
“Are you ok? You look like your wind went somewhere else” You didn’t even realize you zoned out a bit, the feeling of nervousness was growing in your stomach and your mouth felt dry. “I’m fine” Hikaru looked at you, tilted his head and smiled “You’re not one to lie y/n, don’t start now”
Wow, he saw right through you. You mumbled out an apology and started picking at the grass thinking of something to say. Before you could say anything Hikaru spoke up. “I’m 99% sure I already know what yesterday was about but I can tell this is a sensitive topic for you so how about instead of just getting straight into it I ask you some questions to ease into it?” To be honest that would be easier, you agreed and prepared yourself for the first question.
“Ok so first things firsts, when you called me yesterday were you crying?”
ok that’s easy
“yeah I was”
“where you hurt mentally, physically or emotionally?”
“emotionally”
“Did you lose someone?” he asked that question with a gentleness in his voice that made you want to cry.
“No, I didn’t lose anyone”
“Ok, were you crying because you were mad or because you were sad?”
“honestly I think it was both” you laughed but more out of nervousness than amusement.
“Were you crying because you were angry at someone?”
“partially yeah”
“were you angry at Kyoya?”
bingo.
“yeah” you could hear your heart pounding.
“So my guess was correct” Hikaru sounded proud of himself for being able to read you so easily.
“What gave it away?” You were genuinely curious. To the world you and Kyoya were the perfect couple, never bickering in public, always all lovey dovey etc.
“How do I explain it, if the problem didn’t involve Kyoya you would’ve gone to him. But since you came to me I assumed he was the problem” he said as a matter of fact.
That was pretty spot on to be honest, Hikaru had always had a talent for reading people.
“Either way, do you wanna talk about what’s going on between you guys?”
You kinda did but you also kinda didn’t in a way. Complaining to another man about your husband wasn’t right even if it was to your best friend of years. But on the other hand talking to someone about everything that has been going on could feel liberating since you’ve been keeping all of it to yourself for a while. Even if you did open up to Hikaru, what exactly would you tell him? That your husband didn’t wanna spend time with you? you weren’t a whiny high schooler anymore-
“Helloooo? earth to y/n? you zoned out again”
Hikaru’s face leaned close to you trying to get your attention, wind blew and you could smell his cologne.
“right right i’m sorry I don’t know what’s going on with me today” this was getting embarrassing.
“This is a sensitive topic so it’s normal if you feel nervous, if you don’t wanna talk about it we don’t have to”
You pondered on the decision for a minute. Maybe Hikaru could tell you if you were being too sensitive or maybe he had some advice, talking to him wouldn’t hurt.
“No it’s fine I wanna talk about it, you have to promise to tell me if i’m being too dramatic ok? because honestly I don’t know if i’m being unreasonable or not”
Hikaru raised his right hand “I promise even though I don’t believe that’s the case”
Ok. You took a deep breath in.
“Truth is, for the past couple months I've been feeling lonely, Kyoya leaves and spends all day working and we don’t really spend any quality time together. I know that the honeymoon phase doesn’t last forever but I was hoping I would at least get to interact with my husband” The words came out of your mouth without you being able to control them. This was embarrassing, what if he thought you were being whiny? maybe you were just overreacting.
“I don’t think you’re whiny and I don’t think you’re overreacting ”
You didn’t realize you had been thinking out loud, was Hikaru just trying to not hurt your feelings?
“You don’t have to lie to me, I know Kyoya is a busy man and I should just learn to cope. For Christ’s sake I’m a 23 year old woman not some lovesick school girl, I should know how to control my emotions by now.” The uneasy feeling you had grew in your stomach and you could feel tears starting to form.
Honestly you looked pathetic right now, crying because your husband was busy.
“The feeling of wanting to feel loved doesn’t go away with age, just because you’re an adult now doesn’t mean you deserve to feel lonely.” Hikaru said quietly, his words made you lose your train of thought.
“Huh?”
“The feeling of wanting to feel loved doesn’t go away with age, just because you’re an adult now doesn’t mean you deserve to feel lonely.” This time he spoke more clearly and you could understand what he was saying, but honestly they didn’t help that much.
“Maybe you’re right, but even then what am I supposed to do? I crave Kyoya like he’s a drug and he only gives me enough affection to give me a little taste and that gets me even more hooked” you were starting to sound obsessessive but it’s how you truly felt.
Hikaru went quiet and he seemed like he was trying to piece together a puzzle, after a few seconds his expression turned sour. Oh no, he got fed up with your whining, you should leave.
“This was a bad idea I should leave-”
“Y/n have you ever thought that maybe Kyoya is doing this to have control over you?”
“Excuse me?” no, Kyoya would never do this.
“He knows that he’s your weakness and he uses that to his advantage, like you said he only gives you a little affection to keep you hooked”
“Why would he do that?” kyoya would have nothing to gain by having control over you, it’s not like you were rich or possessed many assets, you went to ouran on a scholarship with haruhi.
“It’s Kyoya we’re talking about, to him he HAS to have control over everything, it’s what makes him feel safe. “
Nothing made sense, true Kyoya was kind of a control freak but he would never want to control you, his own wife right?
“Even if that is true, which I don't think it is, what the hell am I supposed to do?” your voice was starting to get loud.
Hikaru fell backwards and went from sitting to lying on the grass, he took a deep breath and went quiet.
“Ignore him”
“Excuse me?” what the hell was Hikaru talking about
“Ignore Kyoya”
“And good would that do?”
“Honestly? I don’t know, but you could see his reaction and see if his behavior changes”
That was possibly the worst advice you had ever gotten, but you were intrigued.
“That’s a horrible idea. How should I do it?”
A/N
since I spent so many weeks without posting I promise i’ll try to get a the very least one chapter a week out

Henry Bowers (Rafe,Topper,Kelce X Reader)

Warnings:Smut,mentions of bulimia,laxatives,IT 2017 spoilers.
Series Masterlist
Heavy footsteps walked up to your door, turning the knob with a glove covered hand. The footsteps trailed through your house, hearing the screams, laughed and splashing from outside.A large yellow envelope was placed on the kitchen countertop, likcing their lips and taking in a big nervous breath fro they had never been inside your house before.
They knew a lot about you from a certain brunette that spoke so fondly of you,not having anything other to talk about besides how fantastic you were. They should’ve ran out once the task was completed, instead finding themselves jogging up the stairs and ending up in your bedroom.Brown eyes looked around, falling onto a boxed action figure on your dresser,a small smile coming across their soft features.
They saw a bedside table with drawers in it,pouting as they walked over to open the drawers and look through them.A stack of photos,a box of laxatives, colored pencils, spare phone chargers and a handful of tampons. They picked up the stack of photos, looking over to the door every couple of moments as they flipped through them, smiling at the memories that were trapped on the polaroids. There were dates across the bottom of each photo.
In the older ones you appeared empty on the inside, eyes struggling to stay open and a forced smile on your face. The more recent ones were completely different though.Smiling so wide that your eyes squinted, seeming to be more healthy, your eyes holding nothing but joy. Most of the photos didn't even have you in them.Topper appeared in a lot of them,a big goofy grin on his face.In others he looked surprised, not knowing that you were photographing him.
They noticed one thing that really stood out.No parents in the photos, literally nobody outside of the teenage boys.In all of the photos of Kelce he was cooking, smiling or holding you on his shoulders or had you in his lap.The ones with you and Rafe were different though. The one that made them laugh was of Rafe on the floor, your legs on his shoulders to keep him still as you braided his hair, his eyes focused on the tv and not even caring what you were doing.
There were tons of photos from beach days,Rafe wearing sunglasses as he stared down at a triple decker sandwich. The most recent one at the back of the pile was dated a few days ago and was a photo of Topper, asleep on the couch with a bit of drool on his chin,a pillow held tight to his chest in nothing but pajama pants.
They put the photos back where they had originally been, standing up carefully.Thats when they heard the slider door open, cursing under their breath.Water dripped from your hair as you stepped inside your kitchen,Topper close behind you with a towel wrapped around his waist. “I'm cold as hell.”You sighed, pulling the towel over your shoulders, the air conditioning making goosebumps form on your legs.
Rafe closed the slider door,a few water drops falling from his hair and dripping down his nose. “I'm gonna go change,i'll be back.”You told them, going up the stairs slowly, the towel slipping off of you. When you got into the bedroom you sighed, looking at the mess you had made. You looked over the scattered clothes, your eyes finding one of Topper’s sweatshirts that you had taken a few months back when he had slept over.
You peeled the wet t shirt off along with the bathing suit under it,wrapping the wet clothes in the towel before pulling the hoodie over your cold body, sighing at the warm feeling before pulling on a pair of underwear.Little did you know that someone was under your bed, their hand covering their mouth as they hoped you wouldn't hear them. You didnt, leaving your room and shutting the door behind you, going back downstairs.
Your wet hair was making the back of the hoodie wet,you couldn't really feel it through the thick material though. “Hey,(Y/N)?”Topper called out to you as you were about to sit on the couch. You sighed, grabbing your phone and putting it in the pocket of your hoodie. You went into the kitchen, confused as to why they were staring at your countertop.
“What?”You asked, taking a seat opposite from them, frowning as you saw the envelope. “This wasn't here before.”You looked at your name in sharpie, not sure where it had come from. “I know it wasn't,so why is it here now?”Topper asked. You shrugged, just as clueless as the boys. You opened it,seeing two stacks of twenty dollar bills and a piece of notebook paper. “What the fuck?”Kelce picked up one of the stacks, flicking the green paper.
You pulled out the notebook paper, the message written in blue pen. “Do what you want just dont be mad.You have to live your life and i have to live mine.I can't live my life with you and clearly you don't need me to live yours.I still love you so dont lie and say I don't.I'll pay the bills and shit til you're 23,then you're on your own.You use this money to cover groceries and clothes and whatever, just don't drag me into this. This’ll be the last time you hear from me.Please don't try and talk to me and I won't try and talk to you.”It was rushed, written in big letters to make the page seem more full.
It didn't need a signature for you to know who it came from.At least you didn't have to worry about paying bills and losing your house now.You couldnt believe how fast things were falling apart. “What? What does it say?”Topper asked, coming up behind you to read it over your shoulder.
“Oh,you’ve gotta be kidding.I hope she gets fucked in the ass with a sword.”You slammed the note down, looking at the stacks of money. “But how’d this get inside the house?Shouldn't it be out in the mailbox?”Rafe asked, going over to your living room window and looking out, eyes widening when he saw the silver car. “Were you expecting someone else?”Rafe asked, gaining your attention. You went over next to him, heart dropping when you saw the car.
“No-shit!Was the front door unlocked?”You asked Rafe, the last person to come inside. His eyes widened, going over and twisting the doorknob. “Fuck.”He whispered, looking up at the staircase. “Is someone in the house?”Topper asked, his hand immediately going onto your shoulder, almost like a way to protect you. “I dont fucking know? What do we do?Call the cops?”You whispered, looking over to Kelce.Rafe’s eyes widened.
“Fuck no!Do you know how much shit we have here that we could get in trouble for?”He asked, going back into the kitchen to grab a knife. He was probably talking about the fact that he had hard drugs on him.Either that or he was also hiding a gun in your house.
You wouldnt really be surprised if that were ture at this point.“Hey,hey-the car is backing out!”Topper told you, pulling you back over to the window, seeing the car speed off. “Fucking shit-what if they put cameras in the house?”You asked, locking the door.Rafe licked his lips, putting the knife away and jogging upstairs. He looked into your room, not seeing anything changed.
Topper hugged you tight, telling you to stay calm. “Clearly whoever it was wasn't trying to kill you, they just wanted to leave that here.”As scary as it was he was probably right. But you couldn't help the fear that whoever it was might come back.Clearly they had ties to your mother, maybe even worked for her or something.
Rafe went through your drawers, seeing the stack of polaroids, seeing the box of laxatives next to it. “What the fuck?”He whispered, picking it up to see that it was half empty. He remembered you keeping laxative pills with you all the time during freshman year.
The four of you had gone to the beach and they all wanted to get ice cream and peer pressured you into getting some as well. You had eaten it quickly, excusing yourself to go to the bathroom and sticking three fingers to the back of your throat. You gagged a few times, nothing coming up which caused you to begin to panic.
Your breathing got quick, trying to figure out what to do when you remembered the pills in your pocket, popping five out and swallowing them, sitting on the toilet, tears running down your face as you cursed and hoped that it would come out.
Once the job was done you had let out a loud sigh, wiping yourself clean, your thighs hurting from how long you had been on the uncomfortable toilet seat. You put the bag of pills back into your pocket, leaving the bathroom to see the boys still sitting at a picnic table, waiting for you.
You had went to go back and sit down next to Topper, unaware that the bag was partially hanging out of your pocket. He had noticed it,deciding to pull it out, frowning at the tablets. “What the hell are these?”He asked, shaking the bag back and forth.
Rafe and Kelce looked up,Rafe became intrigued and pulled the bag away, holding the clear material to his palm.He knew that it wasn't xanax or some strange type of pain killer. “Um….those are laxatives...for stomach aches.”You answered, tugging the bag back and putting it back into your pocket.
He stomped down the stairs, box in hand. “Why do you have this?”He asked, holding up the box.Your heart beat sped up at his furious tone, seeing the box, feeling sick. You didnt know why you felt that way,you didn't even have them for a bad reason. Now all eyes were on you and waiting for an explanation,Topper’s arms not so tight.
“You see….sometimes when i'm on my period I get really constipated so I use those to help myself out.”You explained, feeling yourself getting hot.Rafe bit his lip, nodding while Kelce scoffed. “You use those! Those are so bad for you-you’ll actually shit your pants if you take too much at once. You should drink hot lemon water instead,it's natural and so much better.”He huffed, running a hand through his wet hair.
You just nodded, licking your lips. “You guys will stay here tonight, right?”You asked, hoping that at least Rafe would be able to stay.As much as you loved Top and Kelce they were both pussies most of the time. But then again you were too,you couldn't really be mad at them.Topper frowned, realising that he’d have to head home at some point tonight so that is mom didn't think that he died.Rafe would probably be in deep shit for leaving the party and taking the jetski but he was more worried about you than what his father was going to do to him.
Kelce bit the inside of his cheek, nodding. “I think I can,I have to leave in the morning though.Rafe?”He asked, looking over to the tall boy.Rafe sighed, crossing his arms. “Yeah,I can stay over.”He answered, glancing at the door to make sure that it was locked one more time.
His muscles were flexed, the vein in his forehead sticking out slightly as it always did when he was stressed. “I’m going to go change, you pick a movie.”He picked up the box of laxatives again, going back upstairs. He went into the bathroom, putting on his shirt and boxers, pulling the bag of white powder out of the shorts, staring at it.
He had gotten pissed about the laxatives because you used them to hurt yourself and hurt your health yet he was doing the exact same thing. He stared at it for a while, becoming angry at how bad he was fucking up not only his own life but the lives of everyone else around him.
He jumped when a soft knock came from the otherside of the door, standing up carefully and dropping the little bag onto his shorts, opening the door a crack to see you standing there. “Dude, hurry the fuck up you take like ten years to change.”You huffed, looking up at him.He let out a low, nervous chuckle. “Yeah, sorry.”He muttered, still staring at you.
“I’ll be down in a minute.”He went to shut the door, only for you to speak again. “You have sweatpants here if you want.”You remembered the loose, soft gray pants in your closet that he had left in your bathroom at the beginning of May.
He licked his lips, slipping out of the bathroom and closing the door behind him.You went into your room, going to open your closet when a thought came to mind. “rafe.”You whispered, making him look up from his boxers, hoping you wouldn't notice his obvious boner.
“Did you check the closet?”You whispered to him, making his heart drop.Fuck.He grabbed you by the wrist, pushing you behind him,his hand on the closet door knob. “Shit-fuck-okay-okay-3-2-1.”He swung the door open, stepping back quickly, standing in front of you like a human shield. “Oh-oh there’s no one in there.”He calmed down, letting go of you and letting out a loud sigh.
You still gripped his arm, fingernails scratching against his skin, not helping with his boner that you were so close to him.You let out a sigh of relief, stepping forward and reaching up onto the shelves, grabbing the pants that you wore when you were alone sometimes.
THose pants with Topper’s hoodie was probably the best combination ever. You turned to hand them to him, only to find that he was practically pushed up against you. “Did you pick a movie?”He asked, taking the pants that he hadnt seen in a while. You nodded, pushing him back with your pointer finger so you could close your closet door, trying not to watch as he pulled the gray pants up his legs.
“What movie?”He asked, tying the drawstrings to keep them in place but that didnt help you take your eyes oof of him, able to see the outline in the light material. “IT.”You answered, hopping over your bed and opening your drawer, checking for your polaroids.Thank god whoever had come into your house hadnt taken them.
He chuckled, shaking his head. “Yeah,no.You’re not gonna survive through that, pussy.”He answered, walking out of the room quickly before you could register what he had said to you.You grinned, running down the stairs and chasing after him, eventually getting a grip of his shirt. “Dont run on the stairs, guys!”Kelce shouted, hearing the pounding of footsteps.
Your hand was still tight on Rafe’s shirt, not letting go of him. “You’re giving me those pants back, right?”You asked quietly, letting go of him. “Uhh...these are my pants.”He answered, hands in the pockets. You shook your head. “No,not anymore.”You ended the conversation, slipping past him and going to sit on the couch, stopping to close the living room blinds.
Kelce was sipping a ginger ale in the kitchen,Topper had gone into the guest room, changing back into his clothes. You sat on the couch, holding a pillow to your chest, the movie already prepared and all you needed to do was press the ‘ok’ button for the horror that would probably haunt your mind for the next three months to begin playing.
“Im fucking serious, you’re gonna cry in the first five minutes.”Rafe grinned, laying down on the couch with his legs across your lap.Topper walked out of the guest room, immediately agreeing. “Like,I love you and all but you’re gonna start screaming and crying and then you’re gonna wake us up at three in the morning freaking out.”Topper plopped down next to you,Kelce taking his spot on the floor with a blanket under him.
“Im going to bet that she’s gonna scream in the first fifteen minutes.”He grinned, deciding to wrap the blanket around his shoulders and lean against the couch. You rolled your eyes, poking at Rafe’s legs through his pants, playing the movie. “Im gonna say the first five.”Topper placed his bet, earning a smack on the arm from you. “It’s not gonna be that bad.”You told him, rolling your eyes. “Whatever you say.”Topper grinned, watching the movie.
“Shit….dont fucking chase after-what the fuck? Why?Why is he-OH MY GOD HIS ARM!”You cringed, squeezing Rafe’s shin, grabbing onto Topper’s arm.Kelce was laughing so hard that he was wheezing, watching as you clenched your eyes shut, holding onto Topper for dear life.
“He’s-oh my god what the hell-I hate it here!”You were screeching, literally about to cry as you gripped Topper’s arm.Kelce laughed,a memory coming to his mind. You two were sitting on your couch, watching Infinity War.You squeezed his bicep, literally sobbing into his hoodie. “Fuck-I hate this movie!”You squeaked, hugging him tightly. He was trying not to cry, sniffling.
“No-why Peter? Why him?”He sniffled, hugging you tightly, sobbing into your hoodie. “God-Endgame is so much worse.”You gulped, taking in a big breath. “NO!No-not tonight-I cant handle that much pain in one night.”He shook his head, rubbing your sides under your t shirt. “Imagine how tired I am!Imagine how tired I am!”You tried to laugh off the pain, your voice cracking.
As the Losers club walked through the hall, the camera focusing on the Bowers Gang you felt heat rush to your face. “Ooh-he do be kind of cute though.”You grinned, looking at Henry Bowers.Topper and Rafe groaned,Kelce smacking his head off the couch dramatically, pausing the TV. “Is evil brunette the standard? Is that whats happening?”He asked, looking up at you.
“Wait-are you talking about the creepy one,Draco Malfoy or the mullet guy?”Rafe asked, squinting at the TV screen. You shrugged, biting your lip. “Ummm...yes.”You replied, making Topper roll his eyes. “They’re literally bullies! Why is brunette asshole the standard?”He asked, earning a small laugh from Rafe. “Bucky isnt an asshole! And neither is Peter or Spencer! And Draco Malfoy is blonde!”You exclaimed, bringing the pillow back to your chest.
Topper sighed, dragging you up next to him so he could stretch out his legs. “No,but seriously. Why are your standards so low?Like the bar is on the ground.”Kelce laughed, reaching for the remote and beginning to play the movie again. “Nice frisbee,Flamer!Fuckin losers.”Patrick spoke, your eyes glued on him. “Wait a damn minute-hold on.”You stretched your arm over Kelce’s head, grabbing your phone to search for the cast.
“Are you seriously doing that right now?”Topper asked, watching as you scrolled through, looking for Henry Bowers.  “Yes,yes I am.”You grinned when you found the name of the actor, searching him on instagram. “Bingo.”You smiled, scrolling through his page. “And you did this for what?”Topper attempted to take away your phone, hissing when you bit at his finger. “Why not?”You shrugged, deciding you could look at his account another time, letting your phone sit on Topper’s chest.
“Can I play the movie now?”Kelce asked, not waiting for your answer as he started playing it again. For a good amount of the movie you were screaming, holding onto Topper while Rafe laughed at you. After he kept laughing at you while you were freaking out about the painting coming to life and trying to murder Stan you had shifted across the couch, deciding to make Rafe suffer with your screams.
As Henry began to carve into Ben’s stomach you found yourself giggling. “Wait, why is Henry literally Rafe?”You asked, earning a gasp from Topper, unable to believe that you went there.Rafe’s eyes widened, smacking your arm. “Dont be fucking rude!”He exclaimed, using the iconic line from Keeping Up With The Kardashian. “Are you kidding me?”You asked, smiling. It only took a few minutes for your good mood to go away.
“Oh my god-NO!NOT PATRICK!FUCK-I HATE THIS MOVIE!”You exclaimed, twisting Rafe’s shirt in your fingers. “Do you want to watch something else?”Kelce offered, becoming scared himself. You shook your head, determined to get through the movie. “He cant be actually dead, right?Like he’s gonna show up and it was all a dream, right?”You asked, hoping he’d get more scenes.
“Can we take a food break?”Topper asked, moving to stand up,nearly kicking Kelce in the head.Kelce smacked his kneecap, rolling across the carpet to let the blonde stand. You glared at him.Clearly he didn't understand your attraction to the brunette sociopath or even care that he was dead.
Rafe moved you off of him, kissing your forehead before getting up as well but you stayed glued to the couch. “Are you coming?”Topper asked, standing in the doorway where the living room met the dark kitchen. “Turn on the light first.”you told him, grabbing your phone off the couch, trying not to look over to the dark staircase.
Topper nodded, getting nervous as he realized just how dark the kitchen was, getting even more nervous when he remembered the light switch was a good eight feet away.Rafe grew impatient, walking across the kitchen with his fingertips grazing the wall until he found the switch, flicking the yellowish lights on.You let out a sigh of relief, sitting at your kitchen table as they raided your fridge and cabinets.
“This is trash, you don't have shit! Can we get McDonalds or something?”Rafe asked, looking over to you for permission. You huffed, scrolling through Nicolas Hamilton’s instagram. “I'm not driving-Rafe you’re not driving either and don't you dare give me that look!”You squinted at him as he made puppy dog eyes at you, trying to persuade you.
“I can drive.”Kelce reached into his pocket for his keys only to be stopped by you. “At night? You hit a stop sign last time.”You reminded him, trying to think if you had any snacks hidden anywhere.Topper took the keys from Kelce, offering to drive. He was pretty okay at driving at night except for that one time that he almost hit a small child.
“Okay, you and Kelce go and Rafe and I will stay here.”You agreed, glancing over to the slider door, seeing the pool lights were on.They came on automatically after sundown because swimming in a pitch black pool is only for dumb bitches in horror movies.
“Alright, text me your orders.”Kelce told you, unlocking your front door,Topper behind him. “Don't watch the movie without us!”He shouted, shutting the door behind him, pressing the lock button on the key pad.Rafe sighed, sitting down at the table, his elbows resting on the wood.An awkward, tense silence filled the room, neither of you knowing what to say.
“So….how have you been, besides, you know?”He asked, trying not to sound rude.He couldnt flat out ask “oh so like, are you having a relapse and thoughts of purging?’.You kind of understood what he was getting at,shrugging. “Its just a bad day,my stomach fuckin hurts now.”You touched the skin through the fabric of the hoodie, bruises on your flesh from where you had punched yourself.
He looked down at the floor, pulling the chair across the tile so he was in front of you, going to pull up the hoodie and see how bad they were.He let out a sigh, frowning as he noticed the darker purple parts, yellow and red spots from how hard you had hit yourself. “What happened to healthy coping mechanisms?”He asked, hands on your thighs, looking up at you.
Your hand went to pet his hair as it always did,his blue eyes staring up at you with admiration that you had never noticed. “I'm trying my best, okay?Don't act like you’re not fucked up too.”You mumbled, hearing your phone ding but deciding to ignore it.He sighed, his forehead against your stomach, careful not to touch the bruises.
“Spencer Reid would want you to have healthy coping mechanisms.”He muttered, pressing feather-like kisses over your bruises, staring up at you.You rolled your eyes, leaning back in the chair. “(Y/N).”He mumbled, somehow ending up on his knees on the floor, elbows on your thighs looking up at you.You hummed, looking down at him.
He moved upwards, forehead against yours, the memory from your bathroom coming back to him.Your heart sped up,not even knowing what you wanted. He waited a moment before pressing his lips against yours, kissing you gently. You didn't pull away this time, letting it happen, your hand going to his jaw as he kissed you.His hands were under the hoodie that had once belonged to Topper but you had kidnapped it,claiming it as yours. He pulled away for a moment, letting you catch your breath. You leaned down to kiss him again, the feeling was addicting.
Your phone dinged again but you didn't care, too focused on Rafe.He began to place messy kisses down your neck, sucking on your collarbone, your hands tugging at his hair.He smiled, kissing your lips again, biting at your bottom lip lightly and earning a quiet moan from you.He felt himself becoming hard in his sweatpants upon hearing the noise, his hands squeezing your hips.
He pressed one more gentle kiss to your lips, moving down to your underwear, looking at you for consent before peeling them off.You gave him a slight nod to give him permission, making him grin, tugging the light material down your legs. You didnt know how to feel about the current situation. It felt good but at the same time felt wrong like you were betraying Kelce and Topper.
Rafe pressed kisses to your thighs, not wanting to rush into anything. “Rafe.”You mumbled, making him pull away from you immediately, giving you a look of concern. “Be gentle.”You requested, earning a small smile from him. “Of course.”He replied, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “I’ll stop whenever you want,I promise.”He whispered, going back down between your thighs.
A shiver ran up your spine when he licked a stripe through your folds, testing you.He glanced up at you, watching your reactions as the tip of his tongue rolled over your sensitive bud,a smirk on his face when you let out a moan.He started to pick up the pace, not going too fast or too slow, his tongue lapping at your core, your hands tugging at his hair, fingernails grazing his scalp. “God,you’re so fucking stunning.”He whispered.
He put a finger inside of you, moving it in and out quickly.Your phone ringed, scaring you a bit.Rafe just smirked, putting another finger inside of you,a moan ripping through your throat. “You should answer that.”He told you, looking over to your vibrating phone on the table.
You licked your lips, gaining the strength to move, grabbing your phone and seeing that Kelce was calling you, cursing. “Shit-Hello?”You answered, trying to keep your voice steady as Rafe sped up. “Dude!I’ve been trying to call you for like three minutes!Didnt you get my texts?”He asked. You bit your lip, trying to contain your moans. “Shit, sorry.”You mumbled, your hand covering your mouth, eyes rolling back in your head as Rafe began to suck on your clit, adding a third finger.
“I didn't know what you wanted so I got you two happy meals,a McFlurry,a McChicken and like, four sauces. Is that okay?”He asked, waiting for your answer. “Yeah, that's fine.Where are you guys now?”You asked, feeling Rafe’s fingers quicken, going deep inside you to places you had never been able to reach on your own.
“Umm...like five minutes away.Im gonna need you to unlock the door though, our hands will be full.”He noticed something was wrong with your voice, figuring that you were just paranoid. “Yeah, okay.I’ll see you when you get here.”You hung up the phone, letting out a moan when Rafe began to go hard, biting his lip as he listened to you. “Shit,Rafe.”You whimpered, clenching around his fingers as you climaxed, your head falling back as your liquids got onto Rafe’s fingers and all over the chair,a satisfied smile on his face.
“Five minutes until they get here?”He asked, sucking your taste off of his fingers with a slight blush on his cheeks, grabbing some napkins to wipe you and the chair off. You were still recovering,a panting and sweating mess, your underwear on the floor. “You okay?”He asked, helping you get your underwear back on,pushing a few fallen locks of hair back, kissing the top of your head.
“Yeah.”You answered, feeling heavy, your legs tingling. He grabbed you a pepsi from your fridge, opening it and handing it to you.You sipped it,the hoodie making you feel even more hot, wanting to take it off. “I’ll be more gentle, next time...if you want.”He mumbled, leaning down to kiss you again.Next time?
You just had to hope that he wouldn't tell Kelce or Topper about this,it wasn't an innocent kiss or a deep conversation. It was something that could easily tear apart the friend group if they ever found out. “Rafe.”You spoke, even though he was already paying attention to you. “Can we keep this a secret?”You asked. You saw a flash of something in his blue eyes, not sure if it was hurt or disappointment. He nodded though, agreeing.
“Yeah,of course.”He sighed, trying his best to fix his hair, trying not to look too messy.Your eyes trailed down to the obvious boner that was barely concealed by the sweatpants, eyes becoming wide. “I can help you with that later...if you want.”You offered, making his cheeks and neck become red. “Okay.”He nodded, taking the can of pepsi and stealing a sip of the soda. You heard what sounded like either a head or an elbow hit your door repeatedly, along with a “FBI OPEN THE FUCK UP!”.
Rafe opened the door for you, figuring you were probably too weak to get up at the moment.Kelce almost dropped the ice cream, putting it in front of you. “For the princess.”He placed the two happy meal boxes in front of you,Topper putting paper grease stained bags down in the center of the table.Rafe sat next to you,a small smirk on his face, his hand on your knee as he grabbed a burger from a large bag with the other, squeezing your leg lightly before letting go,eating as he normally would.
Topper kept glancing between the two of you, noticing that something was different. His eyes widened, noticing a tiny mark on your neck, putting two and two together. When he noticed Rafe finishing his first burger he put a smile on his face, hands on the table. “Rafe, could I talk to you for a minute?”He asked.

The Assassin and the Caretaker Part 2
Part 1
Warnings: blood, scar, torture, mind control, killing, long injury descriptions (blood, cuts, dislocation, broken bones, etc), barbed wire as restraints, head injury, starvation
Caretaker watched silently as Villain and Hero's limp bodies were hurried away. When the door finally slammed shut, they felt a foreboding presence behind them.
"Call me," Assasin said. "When you are ready for your next mission. A man up North hired me to kill a gang of rebels. I could use your help, but I understand if you need... time."
Time? Yes, time would be good. Caretaker pictured Villain's last futile attempts to protect Hero in their mind. They couldn't cause that anguish, not any time soon.
"How do you do it?" Caretaker whispered, clutching the twenty thousand dollars in their hands. "How do you-"
"Do my job? I need the money."
Caretaker gave a curt nod. They needed the money too since they recently quit their job as a computer mechanic.
"Well," Assasin sighed. "I'm gonna go now, but, uh, call me. Yeah?"
"Sure," Caretaker replied. Once Assasin closed the door behind them, Caretaker sunk onto their couch. Villain's blood was still on it and Caretaker wondered breifly if their injury was bleeding again. Would Supervillain take care of them? No, duh, they were going to kill them, that's why Assasin caught them. Right?
And then what about Hero? Their head injury was so bad that Caretaker suspected that they wouldn't get away without some form of brain damage. Memory loss at the least.
What if they got out? What if Hero never remembered Villain? Caretaker was reminded of Villain quiet pleas to protect Hero. Why did they do this? Why...
Three months later...
"Oh my gosh Caretaker!" A voice broke the heavy silence of the room of a guilty person. Caretaker looked up to see Assasin strolling into their bedroom, uninvited.
"What?" Caretaker asked, unfased. "You said I could have time."
"Not three months of sitting around doing nothing at all," Assasin yelled. They stopped walking and leaned against the foot of Caretaker's bed. "I think it would do you good to do something."
"Like what? Kill people for money?" Caretaker scoffed. "Never again."
"How 'bout saving people?"
"That's better, but you wouldn't save anyone. You hardly look after yourself," Caretaker nodded towards the bruises that littered Assasin's body.
"These?" Assasin laughed. "A small price for obtaining some valuable information."
"About your next victim?" Caretaker mused.
"In a way," Assasin flashed a broad smile and walk to Caretaker's side. They took out their phone and showed a picture to them.
It looked like and black and gray screen.
"And this is supposed to show me..."
"Open your eyes Caretaker," Assasin snorted and put the phone two inches in front of their face.
"Okay!" Caretaker snapped and took the phone. For their sake, they observed the picture closer. The gray spots seemed to be figures. Yes, figures. One was hunched over and the other stood above it. The hunched figure had a white splotch above it.
Caretaker zoomed in on the picture. They could just make out notable features like an open mouth, arms, and eyes. Terrifyingly familiar eyes.
"Is this-" Caretaker croaked out. Assasin smiled.
"Villain," they said. Then their cheery gaze faltered. "With Supervillaim torturing the crap out of them."
Caretaker could not believe Assasin. First, they broke into their house. Second, they brought up painful memories and assisted in bringing fresh guilt back to the surface.
"Y-you don't, um," Assasin stammered. "You don't think my intentions are true. Do you?"
Caretaker shook their head. There was probably money involved in this.
"Where do you think I was for the last three months?" Assasin asked, getting irritated with Caretaker's lazy figure.
"Getting rich."
"Idiot!" Assasin yelled and punched the wall. Caretaker slowly looked up at the hole in the drywall.
"You better pay for that-"
Caretaker was cut off by Assasin forcibly grabbing them out of bed and pinning them to the wall.
"I got hurt taking care of that gang," Assasin lifted up their shirt to reveal a scar made from a bullet wound. "At the hospital, after my surgery, a doctor approached me. They told my that they worked for a group that took care of people... like me." Assasin stood back and breathed in deeply.
Suddenly, their eyes glowed red and they ordered in a deep voice, "Sit."
A strange feeling quickly overcame Caretaker and they sunk to the ground on their seat bones. The feeling vanished as soon as it came on, leaving Caretaker speechless.
"I have mind control powers," Assasin crouched next to Caretaker and looked them eye to eye. "Villain has powers also. Something to do with storms and stuff."
Caretaker was still speechless. All the recent events suddenly clickes into place. Assasin didn't need Caretaker's help in kidnapping Villain and Hero. They needed someone to administer the power suppressor so that they wouldn't get any on them.
"Bastard," Caretaker spat. Assasin gave a half-grin.
"Maybe," they said. "But I don't care. I know the second I leave you are going to follow me and we are going to save both of them."
Caretaker hated the fact that they were right.
Caretaker leaned their head against the window as Assasin drove to Supervillain's base, thinking of Assassin's stupid plan.
"What's the plan?" Caretaker had asked earlier.
"Kill some guards, take their uniforms and ID cards or whatever stuff they have on them," Assasin began. "Then," they continued after a pause. "We get into Villain's cell saying there was eletrical issues. Supervillain is gonna be out tonight, so we just have to deal with their minions which shouldn't be too hard."
"What about Hero?"
"After I make Villain sleep," Assasin glanced at Caretaker's paling face as they remebered three months ago. "With my powers," they reassured them. "It will only take a second since they will be tired anyways. After that, we get... Hero."
Caretaker frowned at the hesitation. "Is Hero okay you think?"
"No," Assasin choked. Caretaker stared dumbfoundly as they wiped a single tear off their cheek.
"Oh," they said.
"We got reports that they are not themselves," Assasin explained further. "Due to their head injury that I might've inflicted."
Caretaker was genuinely shocked that Assasin could care this much.
"No matter," they laughed suddenly. "Not that they are entirely innocent, but..."
Assasin never finished their thought and they drove the rest of the way in silence.
The pair did as planned and, let's just say got rid of and hid, a couple guards. Assasin being the bigger figure got changed into the larger uniform, and Caretaker the smaller. But it still dangled off their shoulders.
"Oh my gosh," Assasin laughed as they rolled up Caretaker's sleeves. "You are itty-bitty." Suddenly, they guided Caretaker behind a dumpster.
"Supervillain," they hissed silently and peered out. Caretaker could just make out a shadow entering a shed before Assasin recoiled back.
"That dang henchman!" They growled. Caretaker assumed that the henchman that they fought earlier lied. Then, a horrible thought struck them. Supervillain probably knows that they were coming. They had to get out of there like right now!
But Assasin had other plans. Without warning, they hurried into the shed after Supervillain. Caretaker hesitantly followed.
The first thing Caretaker noticed was Supervillain kneeling on the floor, pushed down by an invisible force that was Assasin. Their eyes glowed even redder than what Caretaker remember as they ordered Supervillain to keep still.
"Assasin," Supervillain growled, only to be shut up by Assasin.
"Get them," Assasin said in a low, but partially normal voice. Caretaker looked over at the wall to see Hero slumped in a corner motionless. Villain was suspended in the air, their head hanging limply.
And wow did they look awful. Villain's hair was matted in blood and dirt. Their upper half was stripped. Caretaker would see the half healed stab wound on their abdomen. Festering cuts decorated their body disgustingly. Deep purple, nearly black, bruises were on their throat where they were likely choked, or worse hung from for short periods of time. And that wasn't even the worse of it. Caretaker could see numerous bones shifting awkwardly as they dangled from enlongated arms. Likely dislocated at the shoulders. Caretaker wanted to gag as they approached them.
Gosh, they regretted everything all over again. Villain's chest barely rose and fall. It hurt to watch. Caretaker gulped and reached upwards to take off the wires that bound Villain's wrists to the wall.
They earned a heart-wrenching scream from the injured villain as they shot awake. Caretaker noticed only then that the restraints were barbed wire. They felt sick to the stomach as their eyes took in the deep wounds around their wrists.
"I'm sorry," Caretaker muttered when they realized with the proper strength (which they lacked), they could rip the barb wire out of the wall.
Villaim screamed and sobbed throughout the entire process as Caretaker yanked at the restraints. Out of the corner of their eye, they saw Assasin losing their control on Supervillain. They didn't have much time...
They broke one of them free, cutting their hand in the process. Ignoring the sting, they broke the other wire. Villain collasped on the ground, motionless.
"Assasin!" Caretaker called. Assasin nodded and rushed towards the unsuspecting Supervillain. They threw them against the wall and ran towards Hero, picking them up.
"We don't have much time," Assasin rasped, their voice strained from the effort of mind controlling Supervillain.
Caretaker didn't hesitate in scooping Villain up who thrashed and weakly kicked around, gasping in pain. As Caretaker left, they saw Supervillain getting up.
"Start the car!" They yelled at Assasin and started jogging. Villain was much lighter than the last time they carried them.
Caretaker opened the back of the car, put Villain in, and crawled in themselves. Assasin shut the door from the driver's seat and they sped away.
"We aren't safe anywhere," Assasin said, turning sharply into a highway. "Take care of them in the car. Now!"
Caretaker looked at Villain, who seemed to have passed out, to Hero writhing around in the backseat. Seeing that Hero was currently in more pain, they went to work taking care of them.
For the most part, Hero looked better than Villain, but Caretaker knew better. They were half-starved, eyes glazed over, and just weren't... right.
Caretaker knew that both victims needed medical attention, but Supervillain would get to them that way.
Caretaker opened the first aid kit and began cleaning the wound on their temple. A fresh one, Caretaker realized. That meant...
No, don't go there, Caretaker willed themselves and disinfected the wound. It was too thin to stitch up, so they put a gauze pad on it.
Hero didn't have anymore bad wounds to take care of. They woke up, or at least Caretaker thought so.
"Piggy back ride," they murmured and weakly clutched Caretaker's hand. "Hero wants a piggy back ride."
Caretaker's heart sank when they heard Assasin sniffle.
"You're gonna get one once we are safe," Caretaker assured the delirious Hero who nodded slowly in reply.
Caretaker crawled back to where Villain still laid. They had no idea where to start. There was too many, way too many wounds. Caretaker leaned heavily against the side of the car, straining their eyes to see the faint rise and fall of Villain's chest.
Getting a hold of themselves, Caretaker began disinfecting the largest wounds. They were running out of disinfectant.
Caretaker's fingers traced the stab wound, making Villain gasp lightly, but not wake up. It wasn't healed properly at all. They took out some soothing cream to rub on the irritated areas, including the rub burns all over Villain's skinny body from where they were possibly dragged around.
The next largest concern was the dislocated shoulders, broken ribs, and the broken hand, but it wasn't as big of a concern than the black SUV that was following them.
The SUV with the license plate of "EVIL".

Second Chance (NatDex/Blackhill)
Rating: Teen and up
Words: 1555
Fandoms: Marvel, Stumptown
Characters: Natasha Romanoff, Dex Parios, Original Female Character
Additional tags: Reincarnation, Post-Avengers: Endgame, Reincarnation AU, Stumptown Crossover
Summary:  After Vormir Natasha wakes up in a new world where she has a different name and works as a ballet dancer? She also finds a familiar face she has missed, when her best friend/co-worker, Katya, drags her into a bar on a Friday evening.
Authors note: So this a thing I've been working on pretty much since I watched Stumptown. There's also a little cameo for one of Emily VanCamp's characters because I've been watching the Resident and rewatching Revenge recently.
Story below the cut or in AO3 here
The last thing Natasha can remember was her falling. She rubs her eyes and sits up in a bed, the covers pooling on her lap. A bed? That can't be right. She very much remembers falling to her death to save Clint from doing that.
A phone goes off on the nightstand next to her. She grabs it and realizes it's an alarm she had put on. Dismissing it she gets up and heads towards the bathroom. She's not alarmed by the fact that she clearly knows where it is until the shower is running. Something is very wrong.
She gets out of the shower and dries her hair with a towel and wraps it around herself. She goes to check the mail to see who's apartment this is. Veronika Bobrova is the only name in the few letters that lie in front of the door. She's starting to think she's hit her head or something but then the phone starts to ring again and she goes to answer it.
"Hello?"
"Vera where are you? We're starting in fifteen minutes and there's so much I can do until someone notices you're not here."
And with that voice her life flashes back to her. She is Veronika Bobrova, a ballet dancer. They have rehearsals for shows during daytime and during evenings they teach children. Her class is on Tuesday and Thursday evenings so today was a free evening. She shakes her head to clear her head.
"I'm so sorry. I had put the alarm wrong. I'll be there as quickly as I can. Thank you Katya. I owe you some drinks or something."
"I'm gonna keep that in mind."
She ended the call, got dressed and grabbed a toast on her way out of the door.
-----------------
And Katya did keep it in mind. When Friday evening came she was being dragged across town to a bar she had never even heard of. Bad Alibi was such a weird name for a bar anyway.
Katya sat down at a table and Natasha went to order them a couple shots of vodka. When she got back and was sitting across from Katya, she saw a face she knew she could never forget. It didn't matter what had happened, if she was Natasha or Veronika or whoever she was supposed to be, but that face she could never forget. It was Maria. Somehow she hadn't even thought about how her sacrificing herself to keep Clint with his family and to get everyone else back would affect her. Does that make her a bad girlfriend? It probably doesn't even matter anymore. She's dead. In that world at least.
She must've been staring for a while because Katya speaks up next to her.
"She's actually the reason we're here. She's a PI and I really need help with the Jack situation."
Before Natasha has time to really say anything, Katya has downed the rest of her drinks and is making her way towards the woman who looks like Maria. She comes back with her and sits next to Natasha while the other woman sits across from them.
Veronika had never been this happy she was single, while Natasha was happy that Veronika actually was single. Being single had never been a problem for Natasha, she actually kinda preferred it, but Maria had proven how wrong she was. While Veronika definitely hated being single. That probably shows the difference of how they grew up. Or so at least Natasha thought.
The woman says her name is Dex Parios and she asks Katya to explain her situation to her. Natasha hears none of Katya's explanation, barely registering Katya introducing her as her "emotional support". She just keeps staring at Maria/Dex, whoever she is.
This version is way more laid back as her Maria. She's more like the Maria Natasha got to know. The one who'd watch movies with her and eat popcorn. The one that'd cook her dinner after a long mission. The one who called her grandma every Sunday evening no matter where she was. The one Natasha fell in love with.
After a while it becomes too much and Natasha excuses herself, making her way outside. Without a thought she digs through her purse and pulls out a small carton. When she's holding a lighter on her other hand, she makes a face. Of course Veronika would have a bad habit Natasha couldn't stand. She puts the lighter back into her purse and throws the carton to a bin. Leaning against the wall she takes a deep breath. She needs to get a grip.
"What's going on with you? You've been weird these past few days."
Of course Katya would follow her. She needed a lie, a good one. Because telling her best friend that a couple days ago she woke up and suddenly she has all these memories of another life in her head. A whole new personality that had mostly taken over. Maybe just telling a partial truth would be for the best.
"I quit smoking."
"Oh. Well good for you! I was expecting something totally different. Maybe even something bad."
"What? That I joined a secret agency and killed a bunch of people?"
"Uh, no? That was weirdly specific?"
"Sorry, just a dream I had. How'd it go with the PI?"
"Good. She said she'll contact me when she has something."
Before Natasha even realizes she's speaking, she's said her thoughts out loud. "She's so beautiful."
"Oh?"
Shit. Does Veronika date women? Did Katya know if she does? Natasha tries to start thinking back on the memories she's still trying to figure out but it's still all mixed up with her own memories.
"She didn't really seem your type. Well, mainly she wasn't blonde or rich."
Okay, good. Yes to all of the questions. Wait, blonde and rich? Why is her memory showing her Carter in fancy clothes and why does it hurt? Not really important right now but she does need to figure out her mixed memories.
"Well, you saw those eyes yourself. You tell me they weren't the most beautiful eyes you've ever seen."
"Sure." Couple beats of silence until Katya lets out a breath and continues, "I'm heading home. You wanna share a cab?"
"Oh?" Looking back inside where she could see Maria/Dex. She's got a second chance in this and she has to take it. She shakes her head. "No. I'm good. I think I'm going to try to get her number."
"You know I have her number right or you could just get it online?"
"Yeah, but where's the fun in that?" Natasha smirks.
"Fair enough. Don't have too much fun without me though."
"No promises. I'll see you on Monday."
"See ya."
Natasha watches Katya wave a cab and makes her way inside. She goes to the bar and orders a beer. Not really her choice in drinks but Maria had liked it and she had got used to the taste. Also maybe getting drunk while she's mixing memories isn't a good idea and beer isn't strong enough to get her drunk. She moves to a table with her bottle and sits down. Slowly sipping her drink she keeps her gaze at Maria/Dex. Dex, that's her name and she really should start calling her by that. She isn't Maria, just looks like her (and maybe sometimes acts like her).
It doesn't take too long before Dex catches her watching her. Natasha flashes her a quick smile and shifts her gaze to the table top. Dammit, she's way off her game. This isn't how Veronika did things and her body keeps betraying her by doing small things the way it used to. When she lifts her eyes back up, she sees Dex making her way towards her.
"I was wondering if you'd come back," is all Dex says as she sits on the empty chair across from Natasha.
Being this close to her makes Natasha feel at ease, Maria always had that effect on her, and having a gentle smile on her face feels almost effortless and natural.
"How so?" Natasha responds, tilting her head as she tries to read Dex. It's hard, because she clearly isn't Maria like her brain and heart are telling her. Was she interested in her? Part of her was saying yes, but the other part couldn't get a read on her.
"Someone like you doesn't stare at a person without a reason. Either you're hoping to get something or I have something on my face. And I checked myself in the mirror after your friend left, so I'm pretty sure it's the former."
"Someone like me?" It's a challenge and Natasha knows that Dex knows it too.
"Fuck. I didn't mean it like that. I-"
Natasha smirks at her, "I'm just messing with you. I know what you meant. Let me buy you a beer?"
Dex is smiling now and suddenly Natasha has butterflies in her stomach without a reason. She blames Veronika, but it might also just be her.
"I don't think you buying me a beer at a place where I get them always for free is fair. But how about I'll get you one?"
Maybe she really does have a second chance at this. Natasha smiles at her, "I'd like that.

Ship: Freed x Laxus
Rating: Mature [References Bullying and Homophobia]
Prompt: AU Rivalry Teamup
Summary: Sent away to a delinquents academy, Freed knew life wouldn't be easy. That was proven to be the case when he met Laxus, a cocky, aggressive arse who used his fists over his words. At least, that's what he thought when they first met, but things can change over the span of a year.
Notes: This is the sixth submission for Fraxus Week, hosted by @fuckyeahfraxus. This one has a brief descrition of bullying and period typical homophobia.

The London School for Delinquent Boys
Year 1890
Location: London, England
"We've a new boy in class today," The teacher – Mister Porland, that's what he'd called himself – said as Freed stood before the blackboard. "Freed Justine. I expect you all to behave and not cause any trouble with him."
Freed would have picked another way to be introduced if he'd been granted the choice. He would have much rather not had an introduction at all, and instead he'd slip into the back of the classroom, wave off all the questions that would be aimed at him, and try and get through the first day without any complaints. Instead, he'd been forcibly marched to the front of a class of about thirty sixteen-to-seventeen-year-old boys – all of whom had been taken from regular education and placed in a disciplinary academy – and been served up almost on a silver platter.
He had to wonder if this was a punishment in and of itself. A hazing from the teachers.
It wasn't that he was intimidated by them, of course. He'd earned his place in the school just like them, and he could more than handle himself, but he didn't care for the fuss. This was as close to jail someone of his age and social stature could undergo and, due to an enthusiast habit of reading and a slight flare for the dramatic, he'd decided prison rules might best serve him. Rule number one was to keep your head down.
A few jeers, exclamations and a patronising whistle filled the room, quickly quietened by the teacher. Freed made an effort not to pay attention to it. Animals, all of them. At least he could be safe in the knowledge that he held moral superiority over them, not that he'd state it out loud. Idiots tended not to like being told that.
Keeping his head down would be harder than he thought.
After he was allowed to take his seat, he was forced to walk through the lot of them to the back of the classroom. The jeering continued, albeit quietly, and someone tried to trip him as he walked. He ignored them, and nearly got to his seat when a particular classmate caught his eye. He wore an arrogant sneer, had a scar running down his face, and had shoulders larger and broader than a student their age ought to have.
Freed would have thought the boy attractive were it not for the look of challenge in his eyes, one Freed knew all too well. This boy was testing him, wanting to see if he would be a victim in the school or someone to be respected. To show him, Freed halted his step, made eye contact with the boy for a few moments, and then continued walking to take his seat.
A little 'hm' was the blonde's only response, but Freed paid it no mind.
Two weeks passed before the blonde actual did anything. The two weeks consisted of Freed getting used to his new surroundings, idiots trying and failing to one-up him in the hopes of looking tough in front of their idiot friends, and the blonde's presence being constant but in the distance. That changed when the blonde approached him in the dinner hall.
"Hey," The blonde grunted in greeting, storming towards Freed. His body was tense, coiled up and ready for a fight. "You think you're better than me or something?"
Freed didn't know why the blonde thought that, exactly, but his response was instant. "Better than you, yes."
He felt that was a fair way to think. The blonde had proven himself to be nothing of note intellectually, he barely spoke in lessons and when he did it was usually to make an unwarranted joke or to get an answer wrong, and he seemed quick to anger. More than once, he'd lurched at another student, looking ready for a fight he'd probably win. The fights never happened exactly, but they seemed like a constant risk. So yes, Freed did think he was better than him.
"This whole thing might 'a worked out in yer old school," The blonde growled, taking another step forward. Freed didn't flinch. "But actin' like yer hot shit and that yer smarter than everyone here ain't working. You're here like the rest of us, and you ain't better just because your pa's got money."
"I don't think I'm better than everyone here," Freed retorted, also taking a step forward. "But I am better than an idiot who can't shut up and takes his hobby by rolling around in the mud, somewhat like a little pig. My betterment was never in question."
The insult wasn't his best. The reference to the blonde's position in the rugby team tenuous at best, and Freed's supposed superiority complex might have shone through – but it annoyed the blonde, so it served its purpose.
He would have rather not been shoved in the chest, though.
Stumbling back slightly, Freed made a choice. He had been told in no uncertain terms that he wasn't to get into another fight, it was partially the reason he was there in the first place, but the blonde deserved a punching. He seemed to be something of an unofficial head-boy, and the fear of him was obvious to anyone who would look, and as such Freed felt a punch to the face was long overdue. He was a student like anyone else, and while others might want to lie down and take it, Freed didn't.
That was why he punched him. It hurt more than he thought it would.
Their fight was hardly that. It lasted less than a minute, and anger overpowered its elegance. Freed perhaps got another two punches in, and received one in return. Teachers were storming over the moment it started, and were dragging them away before it could get out of hand, but Freed felt good to hit the bastard.
"Laxus Dreyar, Freed Justine," Their head teacher yelled, voice filled with a rage that Freed felt was slightly exaggerated given the situation. "My office, now."
As Freed was dragged – literally dragged, which again was an overreaction – into the office, he was sure of three things. He'd already completely failed in his goal of not bringing any attention on himself; his father was going to find out and want him thrashed for getting into a fight again; and Laxus Dreyar had perhaps the most interesting name he'd ever heard.
---
"You heard what he did?"
"Nearly killed him."
"Apparently they're gonna kick him out."
"Nah, he's the team captain."
Freed didn't pay attention to the conversations happening around him as he ate. After three months of being in the academy, he'd learned it was best not to. Most of the people had nothing of interest to say, and the people who were interesting were the ones likely to try and start a fight with you if they knew you were listening. He'd learned that when a younger boy, Natsu, tried to punch him and Freed had ended up dumping a bowl of cereal over the man's head and temporarily strangling him with his tie. The detentions and lack of breakfasts for a week had been worth it.
In truth, he'd forged a comfortable place for himself in the school. He was known as the boy who gave Dreyar a black eye, and that title came with its perks. Mainly that most people would leave him alone. He and Dreyar had… something. He couldn't tell if it was a truce, or simply a stalemate. But either way, Freed would enjoy the calm and only reignite the fight should Laxus need another punching.
Other than that, Freed was forgettable in the school. People ignored him, he ignored them, and everyone went on as if he hadn't arrived. The school was fine – teachers were far too happy to punish, but that was to be expected – and their lessons were as good as his old schools had been. Had his parents been scammed, the tuition fee had been high?
His parents were an issue. They hadn't visited, but they were in constant communication with the head teacher, and apparently their 'donations' meant Freed was put under a spotlight by the staff. Maybe that was why they were so quick to punish: they were being paid to do so. Annoying, but it could be worse.
The food, however, was abysmal.
Mashed potatoes and sausages would be a good meal, but the potato was half cooked, and the sausages were tiny. He'd eaten as much as he could stomach within a minute, so he absently played with the food with a slight huff. The rain, as tended to happen in England, was heavily pouring and Freed knew the moment a teacher saw he'd stopped eating he would be forced into the yard for recreational activities. The eating hall was at least partially warm, and he had to admit that the conversation behind him was of interest.
"What's that got to do with anything?" One boy shrugged.
"They don't wanna piss off the rugby team, they all worship him," The other explained. "If they kick him out, everyone gets angry about it, and they fight back. They'll never do it."
"You didn't see the kid," The first dismissed. "Half dead. They've gotta do something."
"Doesn't seem like Laxus to just beat a kid up for no reason," The second argued, and Freed did have to agree. Laxus was an argumentative and aggressive man, but he did tend to stick to people his own age. Mainly those who knew how to fight back, as well. "The kid must have pissed him off."
"Romeo, nah," The first laughed, and Freed frowned. "Kid's nothing. Wouldn't bother Laxus."
Romeo. Romeo Conbolt. It took Freed a moment to put a face to the name, and when he did his fork stalled and his body tensed. He had heard the rumours of a kid being beaten half to death, of course he had, but he hadn't heard who it was. He wouldn't have cared, were it not for the fact he had seen days prior the beating Romeo had endured. Laxus hadn't been the one to beat the kid, it had been a group of six of his classmates.
Freed had stopped it, of course. They were all thirteen, he was seventeen and the boy who got into a fight with the school's toughest figure, so they scarpered when he yelled at them to stop. He told the kid to go to the nurse, and saw the issue as finished with.
Had the kid used Laxus as a scapegoat? Or had it been the group of brats?
Either way, Freed was a man of principles. As much as he wouldn't mind seeing the back of Laxus and his insistence of approaching problems with his fists, it wasn't fair to have him blamed for something he hadn't done. Especially when a grown man beating a kid was something that could get him taken from the school and placed into an actual jail. That wasn't fair. He stood, and quickly started to walk towards the head teacher's office.
"Enter," The headmaster, Mister Fernandes, said once Freed had knocked on the door. Freed entered, and waited in silence. "Mister Justine. It's rare you're here voluntarily."
"I suppose so, sir," Freed agreed, ignoring the insult. "Sir, I have a complaint to make."
"Of course you do," Mister Fernandes sighed, removing a pair of spectacles, and leaning forward in his chair. "You do know that this is a disciplinary institution, and I don't act on the word of my students. If you have issues with your treatment then it's not my concern."
"I understand that sir," Freed assured him. "But my complaint is more about the treatment of another student: Laxus Dreyar."
"You needn't worry about that," Mister Fernandes dismissed the complaint, despite the fact Freed had yet to make it yet. "I know that you and he have something of a… personal vendetta against one another, and I'm sure that the rumours about what he has done have reached you. I will be following a strict set of procedures which will likely end up with him incarcerated for what he did to a younger boy. He'll be out of your hair soon, so don't concern yourself about it."
"That is not my complaint."
"If this is something to do with your silly feud then I'm really not interested by it," Mister Fernandes sighed. "As I said, he'll most likely be out of here within the month. If you can't be civil for that long then that's a bad reflection on your own character. And boys your age really should be fighting their own battles."
Freed bit back a retort, wanting to point out that the time he did try to fight his own battle he was dragged away and reprimanded. Instead, he calmed himself and spoke again with the level of respect a teacher believed they deserved.
"Laxus wasn't the person who attacked Romeo, sir," He said, and the headteacher paused. "It was a group of his classmates. Six of them, I believe."
"And you know this how?" Mister Fernandes asked.
"I walked in on them doing it, sir," Freed admitted, not flinching when the teacher looked at him with sharpened poise. "They stopped when I approached, Romeo went to the nurse's office and I expected him to tell you who actually was responsible, rather than placing the blame on Laxus. Had I known earlier what he'd done, I would have spoken to you sooner."
Mister Fernandes took a moment, thinking before sighing. "He did, actually. He gave me a list of names, before returning a day later stating that it was actually Laxus to blame, and that he'd lied initially as he was worried about the consequences."
"And you believed him?" Freed asked before he could stop himself.
"Are you questioning me, Justine?"
"No, sir."
He was.
"You're dismissed, Justine. Thank you for speaking with me," Mister Fernandes waved a hand in his direction, and Freed nodded curtly and went to walk away. "It was big of you to do this, Justine. Well done."
"It's what's expected of me, sir," Freed dismissed.
"Good man," Mister Fernandes nodded, before waving Freed off again.
Freed left, closing the door behind him. He immediately turned to the right and started walking towards the courtyard, which was still being battered by the heavy rain. As he walked, he was completely unaware that Laxus was leaning on the wall outside of the office, looking at Freed with an expression of mingled bewilderment, disbelief, and belligerent respect.
---
The idiom that the enemy of one's enemy was one's friend was a complicated one. It was limited, didn't work for all situations, and seemed to fall apart under any scrutiny. Freed had long since decided that it didn't make much sense when thought about, and yet he found himself subscribing to the idea when it fitted him.
That was the reason he found himself walking into the rugby team's changing room.
Laxus seemed to notice him approaching the moment Freed walked into the room, and stopped mid-way through changing into his kit to stare Freed down. Freed wasn't put off by the intense and lingering gaze of the man, walking towards him without hesitation. The room seemed to quieten around him, and Freed couldn't be sure if it was because of his presence in the room or because Laxus apparently changed in the back corner away from most of his team. That worked well for what Freed wanted, at least.
"The hell are you doin' here?" Laxus said, voice growly and angry sounding. He always sounded like that with Freed, but it seemed more intense today. Perhaps this how he acted before a match.
"I have a favour to ask of you," Freed stated.
"No," Laxus rebutted immediately.
"You might enjoy doing it."
"Wouldn't be a favour, it'd be an opportunity," Laxus smirked, seemingly proud of himself. Freed had to give him credit, it was somewhat clever. "So, what's the great and powerful Freed Justine need from a man like me? Lessons on how to be an idiot; that's what you keep calling me. Or is it a few tips on rolling around in the mud? Y'know, because that's all rugby is, right."
"The captain of the team you're playing," Freed began, rather than rising to the bait. "Hurt him for me."
"What?" Laxus asked, a laugh tainting the word.
"Hurt him," Freed repeated. "Kick him, punch him, give him a concussion if you're able to. Or perhaps accidentally kick him in the balls, that'd be rather nice to watch. Just do whatever you can to make him cry."
"Why?" Laxus grinned, clearly enjoying this.
"You're playing my old school's team, and he's the reason I got sent here in the first place," Freed admitted, ignoring the quirked eyebrow he got. "He deserves more pain than he gets, I suspect. I want you to remedy that."
"And why should I?" Laxus said, voice a little taunting as he continued to change into his rugby kit. Freed forced himself to ignore the strong body that was revealed to him when Laxus removed his shirt. "We ain't exactly friends, are we? Maybe I'd have more in common with him than I do with you."
"Do you need an excuse to hurt someone?" Freed asked, and Laxus held his gaze. Freed eventually relented. "I can tell you the team's weaknesses. The coach wont change tactics and so they can be exploited."
Laxus thought for a moment. "Nah, you don't need to. I'll do it."
"You will?" Freed asked. He… honestly hadn't expected that.
"Yeah," Laxus nodded. "So long as you watch. If I'm gonna put on a show, I wanna know I'm gonna have an audience."
Laxus pulled on his shirt, much to Freed's quiet disappointment, and sat on the bench before his locker. He leant against it and looked at Freed expectantly, who was looking back with confusion and disbelief. His arrival in the changing room was stupid at best – he'd seen the man who had gotten him there in the first place and old resentment bubbled up faster than Freed would have liked – and as such he had thought Laxus would dismiss him. It's what Freed would have done were the situation flipped.
"Why?" Freed asked.
"This place is shit, anyone would wanna punch the guy who put 'em here. I don't get to do it, but it'll be fun to do it to some other guy," Laxus shrugged, standing up and cracking his back when the coach called for the team to leave for their warmups. He stepped past Freed, but halted once they were all alone. "Be there, pretty-boy."
"What?" Freed stammered slightly. Had Laxus just…
"You think I don't know the reason you're here?" Laxus chuckled a little, but it lacked the edge it normally did. He lowered his eyes slightly and spoke softer than Freed was used to. "You two get caught? Or did he catch you with some other guy and squealed on ya?"
Freed shouldn't answer. He and Laxus weren't friends and admitting anything to him was stupid, but he found himself whispering, "The latter."
"Fucker," Laxus growled, equally quietly. Freed didn't know what to think of it. "Yer right, he needs a kick in the balls. I'll handle it."
"Thank you," Freed whispered.
"Don't worry about it," Laxus dismissed. "Besides, I guess I kinda owe you for stopping me from getting expelled, don't I?" Freed frowned a little. That had been half a year ago, and he didn't know that Laxus even knew of it. Laxus didn't seem to notice Freed's change in body language and continued talking with a smirk. "And, you never know, having a pretty little rich boy watching me might make me play better."
That was all Laxus said before slowly dragging a knuckle over Freed's cheek in a gesture so light but so intimate that Freed felt a shiver run over him completely. Laxus grinned at him, pushed his knuckle against Freed's lips for a split second, before leaving Freed alone in the locker room, heart racing and eyes wide.
---
"How did you know?"
"How'd I know what?"
"The real reason I'm here."
Both Freed and Laxus were sitting on the school house's roof. Laxus had been taking a drag of his cigarette when Freed had approached him and sat bedside him, and the blonde absently offered Freed one. He didn't take it, and for a few moments they had been sitting in silence before Freed had broken it.
It was the last day of the school year. Freed would be dragged back to his home, where his parents would no doubt have a list of grievances about his behaviour throughout the year. His father would make threats about how if his behaviour didn't improve immediately, he would be punished off the back of the man's belt. Nothing would come of it, of course – the elder Mister Justine stopped punishing Freed that way the moment Freed was of an age where he could fight back – but the yelling would be near consistent. It always was when Freed met with his parents now.
He wasn't going to complain. There was no point. Instead, he was going to tie off the loose ends of his school life, particularly with Laxus. Because, when it came to the beautifully, and now somewhat flirtatious man, Freed really didn't know where he stood.
"It's obvious, when you've been here for long enough," Laxus explained, puffing out a stream of smoke. "Yer not obvious, I don't mean that, but when you've been here for years you look out for the signs."
"And what were the signs?"
"You never spoke about why you're here other than saying you got into a fight. I'm guessing it was with the guy who told on ya," Laxus shrugged a little, shifting slightly so that his side was pressed against Freed. "Everyone here wears their story like a badge of honour. Getting into fights, beating kids up, stealing from places. They're all good stories and get's you a lot of credit in a place like this. The worse you were, the more respect you get," Laxus chuckled. "There's only one thing that gets you in here that you don't talk about. Yer queer, and you get found out."
"You don't talk about why you're here," Freed pointed out, and Laxus turned to look at him with a lazy smirk.
"My dad saw me with the neighbour kid," He laughed. "He wasn't even good looking, felt sorry for him really and wanted to know what it's like to kiss a guy. But dad walked in, threw a fit, and I've been here since I was thirteen."
"That's awful of him."
"Maybe, but this place ain't so bad once you get used to it," Laxus shrugged again, leaning back against the wall he was resting on. "Kinda funny, really. I'd say about a quarter of the guys are here for the same reason we are. If you know what to look out for, you can have a pretty good time."
"You could have told me," Freed laughed a little. "I've been rather bored."
"If I told ya, I wouldn't have you all to myself," Laxus grinned, and blew a puff of smoke directly into Freed's face. Freed simply quirked an eyebrow. "I've been spending the last couple of weeks showin' off to ya on the field and I think it was working pretty well. Hardly fair on me if I got you all excited only for ya to use it on some other guy."
"You're a manipulative man when you want to be, Laxus," Freed smirked, leaning just a little closer to Laxus. "But you haven't done anything yet, have you?"
"Maybe I want ya to be desperate for me," Laxus whispered, voice low and rumbling. "Maybe I'm waiting for you to make the move on me."
"If that's true, then maybe you've waited long enough."
They were close now, and Freed wanted to be closer. Laxus' hand was resting against his thigh, and Freed leant further in. He could smell the smoke on Laxus breath, see the slight dilation of the man's eyes as he grinned, and slowly brought their lips together in a slow, tentative kiss.
His first kiss. A beautifully electric, smoky kiss that set Freed's very soul on fire.
He tangled his hand into Laxus' short hair, tugging at it slightly and relishing the slight groan that he was given in return. Laxus pushed into him further, and Freed practically melted.
Eventually, when a harsh gust of wind flew over them and shook them from the spell of their kiss, they pulled apart. They were quiet for a moment, the gravity of what happened only just hitting Freed. He had just kissed the brutish, angry, brilliant man he had once expected to hate, and had felt more alive than ever before.
"You better be here next year."
"Nothing could stop me."
"That's right, pretty-boy."
They shared a smirk, and leant forward to reignite another perfect kiss.

Not About Angels - Sebastian Stan Fluff
The one where, after you die, you find out that the love of your life isn’t really who you thought he was.
Warnings: Devil!Seb AU. hellish themes? Bit of smutty conversation. Light angst. Mentions of death without details That’s pretty much it.
A/N: I’m already working on a smutty part II that picks up where this one stops, so hype me up on that and it might come sooner rather than later
Seb’s P.O.V.
“Sir?” Sebastian looked at the demon who had just joined him in his throne room with only partial interest. “That thing that you asked us to warn you about has just happened.” And just like that, he was out of his room in a flash, eager to see you again. Of course, in the actual life, he had just left you to “work”, as he had been doing every day since he met you by chance in one of his visits to the land of the living, but he had no idea when he had kissed you goodbye, that today was the day you would join him in the afterlife. Your forever was about to start, and he itched to touch you, kiss you, to have you in his arms again even if not much time had passed.
He wasn’t sure how long it had been, actually. Time worked differently around here, but even though it was longer, to him it felt like an eternity until he found your confused eyes staring back at him in the hall of his own home.
“Seb? W-what is going on?” Suddenly, he felt as if his heart was dropping to his stomach. He hadn’t thought this through. You were scared, that much was clear by the way your fingers trembled and how you chewed on your bottom lip. The same bottom lip he had feasted on so many times before.
And that much was to be expected, wasn’t it? You had just died, and here you were, in hell. All because of him.
“Seb?” You took a step closer to him, reaching out for the man you loved and all he could do was stare emptily back at you. His heart pounded against his chest as he thought over what he had done. What it meant now that you were here with him.
“What did they tell you?” You blinked twice, before completely comprehending what he’d said. He hadn’t meant to sound so harsh and cold, he was just terrified at the prospect of you hating him for what he did.
“W-what?”
“What. Did. They. Tell. You?” He didn’t miss the way you flinched at his tone, he couldn’t. Not only was he completely attuned to you, it would also be visible to anyone from a mile away.
“N-not much. They didn’t tell me… Nothing at all, actually. They just… Asked me to wait here. For you.” The sight of her water-filled eyes broke my heart and forced me to look away, out of the window, at the bright lights of a city that I had created and looked over. My heart felt heavy now, as I tried to urge myself to look at her again and explain everything.
“What do you remember?” I monotonously asked, still not staring at her, although I could see her fidgeting with her fingers from the corner of my eyes.
“Again, n-not much. I remember…” I could have seen exactly when she realized what had happened, I knew it was coming from the way she suddenly dropped her arms and let out a tiny, “Oh.” But I didn’t. I closed my eyes instead, my hands tucked all the way inside my pants’ pockets as I waited for the inevitable outcome of what would happen. Only it never did. Instead, I felt a tiny, warm hand pressed against my cheek, carefully asking me for attention.
I could never refuse her. I couldn’t when she was alive, there was no way I’d be able to start doing that now. So I looked down at her, finding her bright eyes filled with a warmth I was used to seeing directed at me but was in no way expecting to still be in the receiving end of it in such a circumstance.
The feeling of her touch on my skin was enough to break my control and I found myself wrapping my arms around her waist, pulling her body close to mine while our eyes remained connected.
“I died, didn’t I?” I could only nod as I tightened my grip around her, scared to see her run away from me. “Baby…” Her own grip on me tightened, both of her hands holding my face now. “Where am I?” Sighing, I dropped my head to connect her forehead to mine.
Y/N’s P.O.V.
Sebastian looked… guilty as he finally raised his gaze to mine again. “You’re… you’re in hell, darling.” Perhaps I should have felt something other than curiosity, but as I remained tightly embraced by the man I loved, I just couldn’t find it in myself to care. So I just snorted. That made him raise an eyebrow at me, an incredulous look on his face. “Did you just… Are you finding this amusing, doll?”
I broke down in a fit of laughter as he tried to contain his own chuckle, at last dropping his hands from my body. He allowed me to bend over in an effort to gather air into my lungs. “Y-yes, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. I just never thought I’d end up here.” That seemed to have been the wrong thing to say, by the way his smile dropped and he started to avoid my eyes again. “Okay, enough of this, my love. Will you tell me what is going on?” I cautiously approached him again until I was able to wrap my arms around his torso this time.
“What do you want to know?” Good, he returned my hug. We were making progress.
“Well, now that I know where I am, I would like to know why you’re here. Did you happen to die at the same time as I did? Did you…” As the thought passed over my brain, I couldn’t help but to gasp loudly as I pulled him to look at me again. “Sebastian freaking Stan, tell me you didn’t kill yourself when you heard I had died.”
My boyfriend looked very conflicted at my display of anxiety. On one hand, I felt like he was trying very hard not to laugh at my question, but at the same time, I saw in his eyes he was very concerned about something.
“Come on, baby. Talk to me. I won’t judge… Well, I will most definitely be angry at you, but you have to remember that I love you and I’ll get over it eventually.” I watched as he screwed his eyes shut very tightly before answering.
“No, I didn’t die.” Well, that didn’t serve to lessen my confusion.
“Then…”
“You’re asking the wrong question, darling.” That shut me up, but only for a second.
“What was I supposed to be asking?” I felt his thumbs softly caressing my hips, just like he always did. It relaxed me, but only a little. I suppose that much was expected, given the situation.
“Why you are here.” Huh. That was not what I was expecting him to suggest to me. It hadn’t even crossed my mind, actually. I had just accepted the fact that I was here, and that was it. I mean, did I know that I hadn’t committed any major sins while alive? Yeah, of course. Just as I was sure that I must have committed a lot of minor ones that would interfere with my path to heaven. It had just always been the way I saw the possible afterlife. I figured only actual saints and martyrs went to heaven, while the rest of us would be trapped in hell or its equivalent.
“I don’t care,” I explained, shrugging as I hugged him to me again. “Whatever it is, at least it brought me to you. If you’re here too, I’m glad I’m not in heaven. It wouldn’t be heaven to me. Not without you.”
Seb’s P.O.V.
Fuck. How the fuck was I supposed to do this? I had to, though. She deserved as much.
“Baby…” I started, carefully pulling away from her so I could watch her face. She frowned, probably confused about why I didn’t want to hug her anymore. “There’s something you don’t know about me.”
I pulled her with me so we’d get out of the entrance hall and further into the house. She silently let me drag her through all of the main floor, and though I didn’t turn around to look at her, I knew she’d be staring at my house with a gaping mouth.
It was a bit much, even I could admit.
But for now, I didn’t have the time to give her the tour or explain my decor choices. Perhaps after I was done with my story, if she still wanted to be with me.
Please, let her still want me.
We finally made our way to the back balcony, and I brought her to my garden. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d been here, but it was still well-kept by some of my demons - well, as well-kept as I liked it to be. I’d always enjoyed the more overgrown look, so that was the theme of my backyard. Except for the little path that took us to the fountain, dark green dominated the environment, and I hoped she would like it.
If she didn’t, she could always change it however she wanted, if she decided to stay.
Please, make her decide to stay.
We stopped in front of the fountain. Once there, I let go of her hand and finally turned to look her in the eyes again.
“Seb?” She asked, confused. I took my time to memorize her just like that, still in love with me, still trusting in the person she believed me to be.
Please, don’t let her change her mind.
Sighing, I took off my overcoat, letting it drop to the floor, before slowly starting to unbutton my black shirt. I watched her the entire time. She was frowning, definitely trying to understand what was going on, and she looked so cute that it hurt.
I knew she remembered what I had in my back. In the living world, it translated into a black tattoo of wings. Here, they were real.
And so I spread them, something I hadn’t done in what felt like forever. Why would I? I had no reason to fly anymore. It was just something I used to do. It reminded me too much of home, of how things were when I was still up there.
And I didn’t want to remember. I had no reason to.
Yet I had to admit that the feeling of flying, even if it was actually just hovering a few feet up in the air, felt freeing. For a few seconds, I was able to forget my anxiety and just appreciate that I was still able to do this. It felt like stretching a muscle that hadn’t been used in a really long time.
But then I had to open my eyes and face the reality that I was living in. So I looked down and found Y/N staring up at me with indecipherable eyes.
I stayed up in the air for a little bit longer, trying to gather whatever sort of reaction I could so I could be prepared for whichever outcome was waiting for me when I touched the ground again. Alas, there were no visible tells, so with a resigned sigh, I came down and closed my wings.
We both stood there, looking at each other in perfect silence, and it felt like there was a battle going on between the two of us, only I didn’t know what it was about. Finally, after what felt like forever, her voice pierced through my dark thoughts with perfect clarity.
“The reason I was sent to hell… My sin…”
“... was loving me,” I interrupted, anxious to get this over with. By now, I was already in pieces, fully prepared for the sight of her horrified face as she realized what she had done, what I had put her through.
Once again I closed my eyes, just so I wouldn’t have to see her leaving me.
Only, instead of the sound of her steps getting further and further away, I was overcome with the feeling of warmth as I was wrapped around a familiar embrace.
Y/N’s P.O.V.
I buried my face in his chest, appreciating the intimate scent of autumn, home and insanity that were ever-present in the man I loved. Guess now it made sense. I let his scent ground me, although, despite the circumstances, I didn’t feel all that confused. I had everything I needed right in my arms.
When I finally felt his arms around my body, reciprocating my embrace, I pushed my face away so I could stare up into his beautiful eyes. He looked so confused, his mouth a bit open, his eyebrows frowning. I could only smile patiently at him, my heart overflowing with emotion for the man I loved.
“Sebastian,” I called his attention to me, despite the fact that it was clear I already had it. “If loving you was my only sin, it was worth it to me.” I raised up on my tiptoes to kiss his red lips, and to my delight, he reciprocated the kiss with an untamed hunger that had to be the remnants of the fear he had been holding inside his mind.
We kissed deeply in the middle of his garden, his hands sprawled across my back making me feel safe and wanted and his. I didn’t care that I was in hell. If this was hell, I was glad I never had to leave.
But suddenly, he abruptly separated our faces, prompting a disappointed moan from my lips as he looked at me with wide eyes, struggling to catch his breath. “Wait. Do you… Do you really understand what I meant? You’re not here because I am an ordinary sinner, and loving me made you sin in consequence. You’re here because…”
“You’re the devil, right?” I interrupted, wanting to save him the effort of having to explain himself to me even further. “I understood, Seb. And I still don’t care. You’re still the one I love. The reasons I fell for you are still here, I can’t simply turn off a switch because I figured out you fell from heaven and are now in charge of dealing with sinners. Not even the fact that you hid this from me bothers me that much, after all, I would have never believed you if you had tried to explain yourself to me while I was alive. So please, let it go, believe me when I say that I still love you and always will and just kiss me already.”
He opened one of those huge smiles that were so rare on him, but managed to steal my breath away anytime they appeared on his handsome face, immediately leaning over me to do as I asked.
The kiss grew feverish quickly, and before I could even process what was happening, his hands had found their way over my butt and he was pulling me so I’d wrap my legs around him, which I did without even thinking. “Where are we going?” I managed to separate myself from him just enough to ask, and he growled, pulling me by the back of my head so our lips would touch again.
“I want to give you a tour of the place,” he whispered against my neck, where he decided to start kissing and sucking after I separated our lips because I needed to gather my breath again. “I figured we’d start in my bedroom.” It was impossible not to laugh at his silly ways.
“You know… I never expected the devil to be this horny,” I teased him, laughing from the way he scoffed, faking offense.
“I think you have the wrong impression of me, my darling… I simply want to begin by showing you the room that will be ours for the rest of eternity. Doesn’t that interest you?” I shook my head, pushing away from him just enough to look directly in his eyes.
“No, but you know what does?”
“What?”
“You. Especially when naked.”
Chuckling, his response came just before he pushed open the doors that I assumed would take us to our bedroom. “And you said I was the horny devil.”

Luke’s on his third drink when he sees Michael across the room, and Michael catches his eye. Luke lifts a hand, gesturing for him to come over, which is a bad idea, because he’s drunk, and Michael’s definitely drunk — he’s been drinking whiskey all night; weird choice but there’s no explaining Michael — and Luke and Michael are notoriously lacking in self-control when drunk, but now Michael’s already coming over and it’s too late to take it back.
“Hey hey hey,” Michael slurs as he leans against the bar, crowding already into Luke’s space. His breath smells of whiskey, and Luke wishes that were enough to turn him off it, but it’s very much not.
“Hey back,” Luke says. “Having fun?”
Michael barks a laugh. “Fuck no. Are you?”
Of course Luke’s not having fun — it’s why he’s sitting at the bar. “No,” he says, trying and failing to refrain from saying what he wants to say next. “But I could be, now.”
Michael smiles. “Worst chat-up line I’ve ever heard in my life,” he says, coming around Luke and using his shoulders to spin him around on the barstool. “Try again.”
“Who said anything about chat-up lines?” Luke blinks up at Michael, wide-eyed and innocent. It’s gotten him before and it’ll work again. Luke wishes he didn’t know that so well, but Michael licks his lips and they’re here again like they’ve been too many times before.
“Got me there,” Michael breathes, leaning in. Luke leans away instinctively and his back presses into the bar.
“Maybe I just needed a friend,” he says weakly.
“I bet you did,” Michael says, watching him carefully.
It’s no use. They’re caught in the web already. Struggling against it will be in vain, so all that’s left to do is sink deeper and hope that it’ll dissolve by morning.
Luke pushes himself off the seat so swiftly that Michael stumbles backwards. Good, Luke thinks with relish, because Michael loves to push him around and sometimes it’s Luke’s turn. “Your place or mine?”
Michael chews on his lower lip. Luke suddenly finds it hard to breathe. “Yours.”
Luke orders an Uber and they leave the bar to wait for it. The summery nighttime air is warm with just a hint of a breeze, and Michael hangs off him the whole time they wait, pressing butterfly kisses to his jaw with deceptive gentleness.
(Michael’s never gentle with him. It’s why Luke keeps coming back — or at least one of the reasons. Maybe he needs to be reminded that he can take it. If Michael can’t break him, nobody can. And Michael’s awfully good at pushing his limits.)
Luke feels badly for the Uber driver; Michael kisses Luke the moment they slide into the backseat of the car. The radio is on, something loud and angry playing through the speakers. Distantly Luke thinks he’ll definitely leave a generous tip, although presently all he can think about is Michael’s mouth on his, and wishing Michael’s mouth were doing other things, although those things should definitely wait until they’re no longer in the backseat of a car.
“Michael,” he manages, trying for scolding though he’s sure it comes out desperate. Michael pulls back, at least for a moment, hooded eyes gazing into Luke’s own. “Slow down.”
“Slow down?” Michael repeats, sounding deeply unimpressed. “That doesn’t sound like you.”
“We’re in an Uber,” Luke hisses. “We’ll be back at mine in five minutes.”
“Mm,” Michael says. “That’s five too many, if you ask me.”
He presses back into Luke, pushes him into a messy kiss, and Luke tries, really tries to stop the way he melts into it, but it’s fucking impossible. Kissing Michael is his main source of relief, the antidote to all of his pain, and every time they kiss Luke hurts a little less all over. The world is bitter and frequently out to get him, but Michael is a welcome reprieve, someone hungry and immediate to deal with, enough to take Luke’s mind off all the shit he’s trying to ignore about his life and focus just on this.
Five minutes does turn out to feel like an eternity, and Luke doesn’t even wish the driver a goodnight because he’s almost too embarrassed to even acknowledge the ride happened. That concern quickly flies from his mind when Michael essentially manhandles him to the door, and Luke fumbles with the lock just enough to remember that he is, in fact, rather drunk, and so is Michael.
(But what is life for if not making stupid decisions about sleeping with your bandmates slash best friends when you’re wasted?)
Michael all but pushes Luke through the door once it’s open, at which point Luke decides he’s had enough of that, and spins on his heel to pin Michael to the back of the door. Breathing hard, trying not to become completely incoherent from Michael’s disheveled state, he says, “Be fucking patient.”
Michael juts his chin out, so casually defiant that Luke’s heart stutters in his chest.
(Which is wrong. This isn’t supposed to be a matter of the heart — Luke’s heart should have checked out by now, but it’s still here, watching and waiting for Michael, hungry in a different way. This should be a physical affair, the way it’s been every time before, but Luke can’t help the leaps and bounds in his ribcage, only do his level best to ignore them.)
“Make me,” Michael says, around a delicious smirk.
They’re in Luke’s house, though, and the time for patience is past, and anyway, Luke is probably stronger than Michael but he’d much rather be on the other side of this hold, and they both know it.
The song from the radio still on repeat in Luke’s head, he leans in, and Michael meets him halfway, a battle they fight over and over with no clear victor.
-
Luke wakes up in bed, Michael snoring lightly across his bare chest, sunlight streaming in through the windows, a furious headache behind his eyes. This, at least, is familiar. The unfamiliar piece is the dull thud of Luke’s heartbeat picking up speed as he registers Michael in bed with him.
It’s not as if they haven’t woken up like this before. It’s not like they’ve never shared a fucking bed, notwithstanding whether or not they’d just fucked. Luke feels vulnerable, laid bare; even though it’s impossible for Michael to know what he’s thinking, Luke is nervous that Michael will know.
As if summoned by Luke’s thoughts (an idea that doesn’t put Luke’s nerves at ease), Michael’s eyes flutter open, and he yawns.
“Hi,” he says, looking up through tired eyes at Luke.
(Luke has learned to reconcile the Michael from last night with the Michael from this morning. They’re not the same person, but then again, neither is Luke.)
“Hi,” Luke says. He closes his eyes. The light is doing absolutely nothing for his hangover. “We should try and remember to close the blinds.”
“Fucking amen,” Michael grumbles. “I’m blaming you. It’s your house.”
Luke would have remembered if he hadn’t been so distracted by a certain someone, but he’s pretty sure they have an agreement not to really talk about it, so he doesn’t say that. Instead, he says, “I’ll make breakfast if you ask really nicely.”
“Make breakfast or I’ll TP your house,” Michael says, burying his face in Luke’s side. “I know where you live.”
Luke smiles and huffs a laugh. “Try again.”
“Don’t make breakfast,” Michael says. He tilts his head and looks at Luke. “Don’t get up yet. Come on. Go back to sleep. We don’t need to get up.”
Luke stares. This is uncharted territory. Michael’s not supposed to ask him to stay. Michael’s not supposed to ask to stay.
“I have to, um,” Luke starts, still staring at Michael as Michael stares back. There’s a challenge in his expression but also something pleading about it, something vulnerable and on the whole very unlike any version of Michael that Luke knows.
“Close the blinds?” Michael finishes for him, offering him a soft smile.
Luke catches his breath. “Yeah. And then we can go back to sleep.”
Michael flops onto his back, releasing his hold on Luke. Luke feels cold, and quickly slides out of bed and crosses to the windows. Shutting the blinds throws the room into a much dimmer light, and he takes a second to adjust his eyes before ambling back over to his bed and crawling under the sheet.
Michael immediately tucks himself against Luke’s side, fitting so comfortably that Luke can’t believe he’s been sleeping all this time alone. It makes sense, and it feels right, and Luke’s chest feels full to bursting with the fact that Michael hasn’t left. Michael is still here, breaking every rule they’ve written for themselves.
So Luke ducks his head and presses a kiss to Michael’s hair. (Because what’s one more?)
“Mm,” Michael hums contentedly, looking up at Luke. “I’d kiss you if I cared enough to reach you, honest.”
“Could just ask,” Luke says lightly. “I’m very accommodating.”
“Oh, I know.” Michael grins. The rulebook is in tatters; Luke thinks, fuck it, and shuffles down in bed to kiss Michael. Somehow this one, more than all of the other ones they’ve ever had, makes Luke’s stomach churn. Michael tastes of stale whiskey and salt and morning breath, a mixture that should be atrocious but for some reason isn’t.
Michael smiles again when he pulls away, sleepy through half-lidded eyes. “I’m sleeping ‘til this hangover goes away on its own. Hope you didn’t have plans.”
Luke can’t find it in him to come up with any kind of witty retort. “Okay,” he says softly. “Goodnight.”
“‘Night,” Michael answers with a yawn, and within moments he’s back to sleep.
Luke falls asleep soon after. It’s much easier to fall asleep, he finds, with someone else curled up in bed with him, especially when that someone is Michael. Luke thinks about potential energy and drifts off with a smile.

requests are open! & pls don’t forget to like and reblog, thank you! c:
THIS TAKES PLACE AFTER ENDGAME, RIGHT BEFORE FFH. IT EXCLUDES THE LOVE STORY BETWEEN LIZ & PETER IN HOMECOMING.
available on ao3.
The rom-com flickered on the screen in front of your and Peter’s eyes, the only light illuminating the small living room.
Your legs were sprawled on top of Peter’s own, your arms becoming a bit numb from the fact that you haven’t moved them from their cramp inducing position for the past fifteen minutes. It wasn’t your fault— the small sofa could only leave you and Peter enough space to lounge about.
He had invited you over for some much needed “hang out” time. Considering the fact that both of you had missed out on five years of your life, you had suggested you both catch up on all of the movies the two of you had missed; but one thing led to another and now you were both watching late 90’s and early 2000’s films.
You were surprised, and maybe even mildly offended, when Peter had said that he had never watched Mean Girls nor Clueless. The boy who spew out pop comic references every other second had never watched the classics for every teenage girl? The blasphemy!
You fiddled with the fluffy throw covering your legs and partially, Peter’s. Your attention wasn’t really on the movie anymore, you’d seen it multiple times. Could probably recite it by heart, you thought, if you concentrated hard enough.
Speaking of concentration, your eyes inadvertently found their spot upon Peter’s face. It was quite funny, and maybe even adorable if you wanted to go that way, how concentrated the geeky boy was over such a cliché film. You had never once thought, with all of the years that you had known him, that he would listen and take Cher Horowitz’s words to heart.
Peter didn’t notice your gaze, and so you took that as an unspoken permission to roam your eyes over his features: the small lines already appearing beside his eyes, a tell-tale sign of how much he smiled— or at least, tried to, these days. There were those chiseled cheeks and the sharp jawline that he somehow managed to maintain despite eating delivery food every other day. (You can’t blame May, she tries her best, really; but sometimes Thai or Chinese is just way more palatable.) His nose, a bit crooked, from an ”accident.“ (You still don’t really know the exact details about that one, and frankly, you think it would hurt just hearing about it.) Soft curls of his brown hair fell over his forehead, messy and barely brushed.
Truly, you could probably spend a whole hour just staring at him. It’s weird, you know, who the hell stares at their own best friend for long periods of time? Well, MJ probably does, but then again she draws people most of the time so that’s socially allowed... and well— she’s MJ. She just… does that. You suppose.
Maybe she does have a point, you mused. People-watching seemed fun, seeing the way that people processed information was interesting, but you couldn’t really imagine doing that to anyone— anyone else but Peter, at least.
You loved Peter. It wasn’t even a question. Truly, you did— he was family. However, after the Snap, you started to question how you truly felt about him.
Did you ‘love’ him? You had asked yourself that question multiple times already. Then again, he was cute, goal-oriented, stubborn, loyal, smart, geeky, strong... (not just physically, between his difficult childhood and what you both had just gone through, you think that he may just be the strongest person that you know, mentally.) He knew how to make you laugh, how to make you feel safe… God, he was your exact type.
However, you had always put your feelings aside ever since you came back from the dead. What if it was just your mind craving for affection, afraid that you would never be able to experience the love that you had always wanted? Were you just terrified of the thought of not living your life to the fullest, that you started to ’love’ the first person to have ever given you warmth, just because the choice to do so was taken away from you?
Did you actually love him in that way? Would you still have loved him in that way, even if that purple fucking raisin didn’t come out of the fucking sky and take you both away from reality without even asking? Were you just blindsided? Were you wearing rose-coloured glasses?
What type of love for him did you feel, exactly?
It didn’t really help that Peter was way more clingy and touchy now. Sure, you were best friends even before then, but you never really touched each other so often before. His actions only further spiraled your pondering.
His hands seemed to linger more on your shoulders, nowadays. Now, he would, absentmindedly, lay his hands on your thighs while you were talking. Now, his hugs were tighter, warmer, and always included both of his arms— unlike those casual, one armed hugs that you would give each other while saying goodbye after school, right before you both ceased existing.
While talking, his eyes seemed to stare straight into yours, which always made you falter with your words before you shook his gaze off. Once, you saw him fixating his eyes on your lips while you vented to him about a mathematical formula that gave you a hard time.
He never really did that before— whenever you didn’t understand something, he would always just give you a small grin before shaking his head and finding a way to better explain the topic to you. At first, you thought that maybe he just had a lot on his mind, that he was just staring into space…
Or maybe, just maybe, he loved you. In that way.
Though, now that you thought more about it, maybe he just craved affection like you did. He went through a lot. His life was never devoid of danger, and it wasn’t questionable to want comfort after all of the things that he had gone through. Did he truly feel that way about you, or did he only see you as a comfort tool? You wouldn’t be angry if he did, out of all the people that you knew that deserved more reassurance and love, he was definitely on top of the list.
You didn’t mind. You understood.
Was he in the same boat as you?
You startled yourself away from your thoughts when Peter suddenly retracted his body further back into the couch, as if he wanted to bury himself in it. His brows were furrowed, nose scrunched, lips curled up in disgust; though to your relief his eyes were still glued to the screen and he hadn’t just seen you checking him out. You chuckled at the unexpected reaction, “What’s gotten you so worked up?”
Peter shook his head from side to side, as if that would help him from his current situation. “I get that they aren’t really related, but it’s just— weird.” He replied.
Intrigued, you shifted your eyes over to the screen, and was welcomed by Cher and Josh kissing. You laughed at Peter’s disgust.
“How is it weird? They’ve had— like, very evident tension for half of the movie, Pete.” You replied, eyes watching the way Josh held Cher’s face in his hands. As much as you would never admit it, your stomach fluttered at the scene. “Don’t tell me you didn’t expect it to happen.”
Peter groaned. “It’s not that I didn’t expect it to happen, it’s just— Josh is what, almost twenty or something? And Cher is our age!” He rattled off. “I’m having flashbacks to when I learned that Luke and Leia were actually related.”
You shook your head and let out a snort. Typical Peter, always finding a way to reference Star Wars.
“It’s just a lil’ kiss scene Pete, don’t get so worked up about it.” You chuckled. You let out a dreamy sigh, your lip unknowingly curling into a small smile. Truth be told, you've always wanted something so passionate yet so soft like that to happen to you.
You couldn’t help but let the next words tumble out of your mouth. “Isn’t it romantic though? The fact that the person that Cher has been searching and looking for so hard was actually just right there.”
“Always there…” Your voice slowly found itself becoming quieter, until it was only a ghost of a whisper. “Right by your side.”
You felt your cheeks grow hot. What the fuck was all that sudden sentimental bullshit, Y/N? You thought to yourself.
You hoped that Peter just didn’t pick up on what you had just said. The movie was loud enough to cover it, right?
With a reassuring breath, mostly to yourself, you turned your gaze back to Peter’s face.
Only to find him staring back at you.
Fuck, what were you thinking? With his enhanced senses, of course he would’ve heard what you had said.
Your breath got caught in your throat as your brain almost short circuited from the unexpected eye contact. His stare was unrelenting; from the dim light of the television, you can see his dilated irises, swimming with what you can only assume was longing… and hope.
The air suddenly seemed thick with tension. What kind it was? You weren’t really sure, but the movie and its noises were now just background noise and lighting. From the corner of your eyes, you see Peter’s Adam apple bob up and down as he opened his mouth to speak.
“Y/N…” He started, slowly, seemingly unsure of how to word his sentence. You mustered up a small bit of courage and sent him a small smile, patiently waiting for his brain to catch up with his mouth. It was one of his quirks that you adored so much, how much he struggled with the right words to say, because he knew the gravity of them; even if he did end up just spewing them out in the end.
“I— I don’t really know how to say this exactly, but,” Peter chewed on his bottom lip. “God I just— I just need to man up and say it because it’s been on my mind ever since I came back and I don’t think I can put it off any longer because I’m scared that you’ll disappear again and that I’ll never have the chance to say the truth and I—“ He stopped in his tracks, seemingly running out of words to say. His head dropped to look at his lap, as he started fidgeting with his hands and picking at his cuticles. A nervous tick that you recognized.
You straightened up from your lounging position, and slowly reached out your arms to lay your own hands on top of his, effectively gaining his attention and stopping his quite destructive habit. Bit by bit, he faced you once more; albeit now his eyes seemed to be more glassy.
“Y/N,” He took a shaky breath. “You— you mean so much to me.“ His eyes stared straight through you, and by now you felt your eyes start getting teary too.
“When it was happening I— all I could think about was how I felt about you. I— I felt so fucking selfish. I didn’t even think about Aunt May— or Ned, or MJ. All I thought about was how much I regretted not telling you how I actually felt about you sooner— that I’ll never be able to tell you how much I actually fucking loved you—“
Instinctively, you cut him off with your index placed on his lips. Now it was your turn to let out a shaky breath as your hand descended and found itself laying once more on Peter’s own.
Peter loved you. Even before the snap. Even before you disappeared.
The sight of Peter in front of you: vulnerable, hair ruffled, cheeks and nose and the tips of his ears red, his eyes watering as he poured his heart out to you was the moment that answered all of your doubts from before.
That was when you realized that you loved him, too. Truly. Without a doubt.
You loved him before everything went to hell, you still love him now, and fuck, you would still love him even if you hadn’t died. You weren’t wearing rose-coloured glasses, hell, far from it. You were seeing everything clearly. You were seeing everything just the way that they are.
You opened your lips, and a strangled but genuine giggle came out. “Pete, I love you too. I’ve loved you since— fuck, I can’t even remember when I actually started fucking loving you. You’ve been such a constant in my life that I questioned myself whether I truly loved you romantically, because I’m also a fucking idiot that thought that the type of love that I had for you was only platonic. Turns out they’re both one and the same.” You were laughing now, with a few hiccups here and there from the hot tears streaming down your cheeks.
“And shut up— you aren’t selfish,” With a new wave of courage, you lifted up one of your hands again and cradled his face. He leaned into it, impulsively, sniffling. “You’re one of the most selfless people that I know, hell, you put yourself in danger for people that you don’t even fucking know. I… I honestly think you could use more selfishness sometimes.” You laughed, softly, trying to regain a bit more composure with the tidal wave of emotions washing through you.
Peter, thankfully, found your quip funny. He snorted, shaking his head, as he lifted the sleeve of his Midtown Tech hoodie up to wipe at his tears. He wiped yours too, and you thanked him with a genuine smile.
All hearts now bared, you both just stared at each other, not really knowing what else to say nor do. From what you could tell, the movie was over now, the ending scene just slowly rolling in as it always does.
You opened your mouth, about to break the silence, when Peter beat you to it.
“Can I kiss you?”
A chuckle escaped your mouth before you could reply properly, and a huge grin overtook your face as your cheeks heated up once more. You squeezed his hands, and nodded.
Peter leaned in, and you had never felt more at peace.

fall out of in love with me
kudos to @emo-disaster for the original idea of a reverse love potion, and to @an-absolute-failure for betaing
Summary: Deceit decides to do something about his feelings for Virgil. Warnings: potions/dubiously edible things being eaten (it’s flowers); remus being his remus self; brief poison mention (no poisoning actually happens); multiple instances of people being called idiots/dumb, mostly self-referential Wordcount:  2070 (who even am i)
“Cool,” Virgil said, flashing Deceit a peace sign and half smirk as he walked off, and Dee’s cheeks had no right to be blushing so hard like that. He managed a nod and a strangled sound that Virgil hopefully didn’t hear, then scrunched up his face at himself. What a disaster.
“Are you trying to get your face stuck like that?” Remus asked, popping up beside him. Ze examined his expression for a moment before nodding. “It’s perfect. You look like a dead wombat.”
“I’m totally trying to get it stuck in one expression, Remus, because that can even happen.” Deceit rolled his eyes.
“Awww, okay,” ze said. Ze pouted for a moment before hoisting zir morning star over zir shoulder. “Well, it’s been too long since I’ve surprised my brother, so. Bye!”
Deceit waved as ze left, then turned back to thinking about Virgil. Or more accurately, his problem with Virgil.
If he kept malfunctioning whenever Virgil was around, simply because he liked him, that would be… inconvenient, to say the least. Counterproductive to doing what he needed to get done. He needed some way to get rid of these feelings, at least for a while.
Maybe… a creative side could help with that? Certainly with summoning something to help, if such a thing existed.
Roman liked romance too much to help with that though; he’d just push Deceit to confess his feelings to Virgil, which wouldn’t help him get rid of them and was entirely too nerve-wracking to think about. Remus, though… Remus would probably be delighted to help get rid of romantic feelings.
Mind made up, Deceit ventured down to Remus’s room an hour or two later; by then ze’d be back from messing with Roman. And by then Deceit had come up with a more solid idea for what he could do to try and erase his feelings for Virgil.
“A reverse love potion?” Remus asked, eyes glittering excitedly. “You’d rather hate ol’ Virgey than be in love with him? That’d certainly be interesting…”
“Not hate him,” Deceit corrected. “Fall out of love with him. The potion would make it so I only like him platonically.”
“That sounds fantastic,” Remus breathes. “And you need me to help conjure this up for you, right? I can totally do that!” Ze summoned a giant black cauldron, rusty and covered with dirt, and began summoning objects and dropping them in.
“Make sure everything is edible by normal human standards, Remus,” Deceit warned.
“I will! Don’t worry!” Remus called over zir shoulder, muttering to zirself, “Flowers are edible for most people, right? They’re, like, a delicacy in France or something, they’re totally edible, yeah.”
“I don’t want to eat flowers, Remus,” Deceit told zir.
“But they symbolize friendship! They’re a necessary ingredient!” Remus protested. “Plus, I’m 90% sure snakes really like flowers, so I don’t know why you’re complaining.”
“Maybe because you’re making this potion up as you go and we don’t even know if it’ll work, so if I don’t want flowers in it then you can replace them with something else?”
“Pretty please?” Remus begged.
Deceit rolled his eyes. “Fine. But that’s the only weird ingredient you get to add.”
“Oh, sure, sure.” Remus nodded. Ze subtly fished something out of the cauldron—or more accurately, what ze thought was subtle, which meant ze was completely obvious about it—and vanished it. Deceit squinted suspiciously, but Remus grinned widely and said nothing, so he didn’t comment.
By that evening, the potion was finished. Remus proudly presented a vial of it to Deceit, who took it and eyed it dubiously. It was the neon bright highlighter shade of faintly green-tinged yellow, but it smelled like some type of flower he couldn’t quite identify and Deceit didn’t think Remus would actually poison him. And he’d decided to try this, so he was going to try this.
He took a deep breath and downed the liquid before he could second-guess it. Immediately his head spun and he stumbled a few steps until Remus caught his arms and steadied him.
“Well?” Ze asked.
“Give it a minute, I just took it,” Deceit told zir, slurring his words slightly. He was still dizzy, even with Remus helping steady him. “Can we sit down?”
“Yeah! Yeah, yeah, hold on.” Remus waved zir hand. “Okay, you can just sit.” Deceit did, almost falling into a beanbag.
After a few minutes, the dizziness faded, and he slowly stood up.
“So? Did it work?” Remus asked, shoving zir face right up against Deceit’s. “I don’t see anything different.”
“How am I supposed to know? He’s not exactly here to prove it,” Deceit pointed out. Remus immediately conjured up a copy of Virgil, who smirked and leaned up in Deceit’s face.
“You wanna make out?” Copy Virgil asked lowly.
Deceit looked deadpan at Remus. “Virgil would never ask that. You have met him, right?”
Remus threw zir hands up and vanished the copy. “I don’t know romance stuff, okay! I’m just trying to help, tar and feather me and dip me into a live volcano.”
“Tar and feather you?” Deceit repeated. “What?”
“Like ‘sue me’? I improved it.”
“That’s… okay, whatever.”
“Anyway, do you think the potion worked?” Remus asked eagerly.
“I suppose.” As ridiculous as the copy of Virgil had been, it usually would’ve given Deceit that fluttery feeling in his chest, and it hadn’t. And thinking about the real Virgil also didn’t stir up the butterflies in his stomach like it would’ve 10 minutes before, before he took the potion. “Thank you for your help, Remus.”
“No problem, buddy!” Remus grinned a bit too widely.
“Never call me that again.”
“Okay, buddy!”
Deceit scoffed and left the room.
As he made his way back to his room, he considered the potion. He was pleased that it worked, of course, but he didn’t fancy repeating the vertigo any time soon, and they didn’t know how long the effects of the potion would last. Maybe in another 10 minutes or so the effects would wear off, and if that was the case it would be impractical to take it often enough to cancel out his feelings for Virgil.
And there was the fact that he... didn’t exactly mind being attracted to Virgil, most of the time. They were… a little bit fun, these feelings, when they weren’t inconveniencing him. So maybe he’d be better off not taking the potion again? He wasn’t sure.
Good thing he had time to think on it and come to a decision regarding the potion.
Deceit turned the corner, letting a smile play along his lips, and spotted Virgil. Standing outside his door, fidgeting with his jacket and looking nervous about something. He looked up and saw Deceit.
“Dee! Hi! I, uh, I had something I wanted to tell you.”
“Oh?” Deceit raised an eyebrow, shoving down the sinking suspicion that he knew exactly what Virgil wanted to tell him. “Do tell.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Virgil took a deep breath. He could do this! He just… had to… tell Deceit about his crush on him… but he could do this!
“I, um, I like you. Romantically, that is, not just as a friend, though I like you as a friend too! And it’s okay if you don’t like me back, I understand, I just had to tell you, please don’t feel pressured to fake feelings for me or agree to be my boyfriend out of pity or something Ipromiseit’salrightifyoudon’tlikemelikethat.”
He winced, partially at the babbling and partially in anticipation for a response. When one didn’t come after a few long, nerve-wracking moments, he looked over at Deceit.
He was looking at him awkwardly, giving him a smile that looked decidedly fixed. So… he didn’t like Virgil back, then. He’d expected this. It still hurt.
Virgil fakes a smile. “Alright, then. I understand; you don’t have to say it.”
He walks past Deceit, trying not to cry as he makes his way to the privacy of his room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deceit was officially the biggest idiot ever.
“Remus!” He burst into zir room and flopped onto zir bed. “I’m an idiot.”
“What’ve you done in the five minutes you were gone?” Remus asked. “Not that I’m refuting your idiot status.”
“Virgil confessed his romantic feelings for me and I froze up, because how was I supposed to explain that I’d just taken a reverse love potion so I could stop being so in love with him for 10 minutes, and he happened to catch me while it’s still in effect so I don’t actually like him romantically right now even though I normally would? Except I paused for too long and now he thinks I was trying to figure out how to reject him nicely or something and I’ve really screwed everything up, haven’t I?”
Remus burst into laughter.
“Rude!” Deceit sat up, snatching a pillow and whacking zir with it. “I’m having a crisis here; have some sympathy! Oof.” Deceit flopped back down as his head both spun and started throbbing. “Well, this potion officially sucks.”
After a minute the dizziness faded, though his head still hurt pretty bad.
“Oh my gosh, I’m such an idiot,” Deceit repeated as the full horror of the situation hit him. “What if that was my one chance and now I’ve screwed it up?”
Remus finally calmed down from laughing and grabbed Deceit’s arm, hauling him up from the bed. “Come on.”
“Remus! I’ve still got a headache, you didn’t have to pull me up so hard! And where are we going?” Ze ignored him and dragged him over to Virgil’s room. “Oh my gosh, Remus, no, he probably hates me now—” Deceit cut off his complaints as Virgil opened his door.
Before Virgil could say anything, Remus said, “Hey! Dee over here is a dumdum and has such a big gay crush on you that he came to me and asked for me to make him a reverse love potion so he wouldn’t be head over heels for you for a bit, and you happened to catch him right after he took it, which is why he took so long to respond to your confession. Don’t worry, though! It’s all out of his system now, so when he tells you that he has a big gay crush on you and apologizes for making you think otherwise—which you will be doing, Dee, since you’re the one who had the idea and asked me to help you, which got you in this mess in the first place—then he really means it from the bottom of his big gay heart!”
“Did you have to phrase it like that?” Deceit hissed at zir, but ze just grinned, shoved him at Virgil, and skipped off.
Deceit turned back to Virgil, who looked at him tiredly and a little warily. His eyeshadow was smudged; had he been crying? Had he made Virgil cry? He didn’t think he could do this…
But Virgil was still looking at him expectantly, so instead of running away like he was vaguely considering, Deceit blurted out, “I’m really sorry!”
“It’s ok—” Virgil started.
“No, it’s really not,” Deceit protested, shaking his head. “I should’ve said something instead of just staring at you; I really do like you, a lot, and I should’ve told you that instead of letting you assume otherwise.”
“...Really?”
Deceit huffed out a laugh and ran a hand through his hair. “Yeah. Remus can tell you about it, if you want; we actually made a reverse love potion because I like you so much. It was still wearing off when you confessed to me, which is why I hesitated—though I still should’ve said something.”
“Yeah, that was kind of a jerk move.”
“A major jerk move.”
“Yeah,” Virgil agreed. “But you… made a potion to stop liking me?”
“It was an idiotic thing to do. And it’s worn off now, anyway, so it’s not a very effective potion,” Deceit told him. “I made a stupid choice deciding to make it, and a stupider choice deciding to drink it, and I regret it.”
“Okay,” Virgil said slowly, and nodded. “So… what does this mean?”
“Mean?”
“Like… between us.”
“It means that, if you’ll still have me, I’d be honored to be in a romantic relationship with you, Virgil.” Deceit told him.
“I’d like that,” Virgil said, twining their hands together. “Boyfriends?”
Deceit held up their joined hands and smiled at him. “Boyfriends.”

☁️ Dreams
👩🏻 A/N: It's here! This is my first story! I just wrote it as I needed an outlet to get my mind off reality. Probably gonna write again? Idk 🤔Anyway I'm excited to share this! Not sure if it’s good BUT I hope anyone that gives it a go would enjoys it! 🥰
🌠 Geners: Fantasy, fluff, slight smut
📃 Word count: 4.9K
Since young, you always have a thing for dreams. You were told many stories of different people's dreams and you've always finds it fascinating on what goes on in there when your body shuts to recharged.
There was one in particular that had it imprinted in you till now. It was your grandparent's dreams. You can't believe that they actually met in their dreams and how their love unfolds into reality.
How can anyone dreamed of someone else when they've never cross path or see each other before? You always questioned.
You could never figure out no matter how many times they tell you their tales. But even so, it was the sweetest love story that you've heard and of course, seeing it through parts of their times, you were partially convinced that maybe dreams do come true.
As you get older, instead of popping colours of life, nightmares get the best of you. You eventually start sleeping lesser and lesser hours. Dreams were no longer the happy fluffy thing you did look forward to every night.
Today was the worst. It was one of those days, where you felt like everything was collapsing on you. This week have been so exhausting and you probably had less than 10hours of sleep in total. Having to deal with your sickening boss that always throws you with piles of urgent paper work that you end up OT till 1-2AM to finish, colleagues that act as if they're the only one that have a life outside of work and dumped their unfinished work on you.
Just when you thought things couldn't get any worst, you sprained your ankle while chasing for your last bus home tonight.
"How great.." you sighed while limping up the bus with your now sore ankle.
"Well at least, I managed to catch the bus…" Trying hard to comfort your miserable self as you found a seat and sat down.
You finally reached home after what seems like forever. Throwing your heels aside, you limped towards the kitchen to get some ice for your swollen ankle. Walking to the living room you plopped yourself onto the sofa, turning the TV on that you have no plans on watching. You find yourself staring into the ceiling, can't help but to question about your life.
Even though you're tired as hell, you can feel yourself fighting that tiredness, refusing to let another nightmare invade you tonight. But as the clock ticks away by the minutes, you know your fight is futile.
"If only.. I just wish for one good dream.. Just one, to end this miserable week" with that, you find your heavy lids closed as you fell asleep.
The next thing you know, upon opening your eye you saw the ray of morning sun shining into your room.
Checking the time on the clock,
"It's 11AM?!" Now, widely awake. "Did I just sleep through the night?"
Not remembering when's the last time you slept through the night without waking up with cold sweat or hyperventilating from the nightmare you had. Though, you weren't complaining. You were in fact longing for a good sleep like this.
You got out of your bed, slipping into your bunny slippers, ready to kicked start your day. You just felt really good and recharged from the long sleep. After washing up and making yourself a cup of coffee, you walk to the sofa and sat down, finding a comfortable position to plan how you should go about your day before having your best friend over tonight for dinner and movie.
While you were making plans, a suddenly feeling strikes you. Something doesn't add up, but you can't seem to put it into words.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's 1PM. You're dressed in your ripped jeans and cute smiley sweater ready for some shopping therapy and groceries shopping for tonight's dinner. You grabbed a pair of your most comfortable heels and skipped out of your apartment. You were in a good mood, stress free and you know that's not normal but again you're not complaining. You're going to enjoy it while it last and so you thought.
As you were going down the long flight of stairs towards the bus stop, you were impressed at how you managed to go up these 'stairs of hell' with your swollen ankle last night. That's when you realised, they aren't painful anymore. You were pretty sure it was swollen before you fell asleep but they seem perfectly fine now. You also remember falling asleep on the sofa and not in the room.
So, how did I get to the room? When did I changed into the pj? Now, lots of thoughts are flying in and you couldn't much process or find an answer to them.  Are you that tired that you can't remember what you did?
"Be careful!!" A loud voice snapped you back into reality and you can feel a strong hand holding on to your arm.
Facing the stairs down, you're pretty sure that you will get more than just swollen ankle if it's not for this person. You turned your head around wanting to thank your saviour but came to face with a white tee and strong veiny arms that is holding on to you. You tilted your head up trying to see who's this perfect fitting body belongs to and there, you saw a pair of small worrisome eyes looking at you.
"Are you ok? Hurt anywhere?"  he asked worriedly.
At that moment, you couldn't seem to find a word as you were too focus on looking at this charming looking gentleman in front of you.
Let's be honest, ever since you start adulting, life has been a struggle of paying off bills and dealing with your work life. You hardly even have time for yourself, so let alone finding yourself a partner to add on the struggle with.
The only male presence in your life other than your dad, is your childhood best friend, Lee Minhyuk. Well, he's called your best friend for a reason. You have been in each other's life for more than a decade and you know each other all too well. Also, knowing that there will probably be no peaceful day ahead if you guys were to even try. You and Minhyuk can't even decide on a movie together for movie night without bricking for at least 30 minutes and ended up having to tossed a coin to decide. Which, you think it's probably going to happen tonight too. So, it has never really cross both of your mind about developing your relationship into anything else more than what you guys are.
You did met a few people, go for a few dates before but that was in collage when you had the privileged of time. All that just seems so long ago.
Right now, having come face to face with this charming guy, it is sure to activate your needs for a new male presence in your life. Not to mention, this gentlemen in front of you, his visual is… let's just say, he's totally your type. With your 'love struck' expression which you probably are showing now, he figured that you should be ok.
"Hi, I'm Hyunwoo." Waiting for your answer while holding on to you as you steady your feet.
You noticed his expression changed to a shy and smiley eye, that would totally make anyone soft.
"Hi" … "I'm y/n." Quite sure you sounded like a robot.
A red one to be exact because you can feel yourself blushing hard and the distant between the both of you and his perfume smell is not helping at all. You can hear him chuckled. His hand is still on your arms. His warm palm on your skin certainly have you feeling the butterfly flying wildly in your stomach.
"Are you free for a coffee?" You blurted out of nowhere and a sudden realisation that you're thinking out loud, got you in panicked mode.
"I mean… I mean you just saved me from the probability of cracking my head like an egg... so.. " pausing and cursing yourself for the lame joke. Now, you just want to dig a hole and hid.
He laughed. "I like that" not sure if he said that out of courtesy, just so your now red af face wouldn't burst.
"and sure. I would love for a coffee with you, Y/n. "
You liked the way he calls your name. Like you never knew it could sound so sweet.
After the awkward invitation, Hyunwoo slide his hand down from your arm. Holding on to your hand now, he casually walks down the stairs. Going one step ahead of you as he leads you down. He turned his head to looked at you and smiled,
"Now, you don't need to worry about getting your head cracked."
You're very sure at that moment, your face was in tomato red as Hyunwoo holds your hand and walk towards the nearby café.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Do you stay around here?" You asked as the both of you set down on the sofa seating in the café.
"Yes, I just moved here recently and was exploring the neighbourhood. You stay around the area?"
"Yup. Not far from the 'stairs of hell'." Almost rolling your eye.
Hyunwoo let out an airy laughed "I totally know what you mean."
Taking the first sipped of his drink, he started making some sound. "Mmmm! Mmm! This is so good!"
His reaction makes you adore him. How can someone be so charming, gentle and cute all at the same time.
"Oh, what did you ordered?" you asked out of curiosity.
"Honey grapefruit tea! It's on the drink's special menu. It's so refreshing!" You smiled at him as he sounded so proud of his order.
"Do you stay alone?"
That question was definitely out of nowhere.
There was a short pause as you were a little startled by the intruding question. Hyunwoo probably felt that he might have make you uncomfortable, so he explained.
"Oh, don't get me wrong. Since I moved here alone, I just thought it would be nice to know people in my neighbourhood. But its ok! You don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable. I'm sorry for the sudden question." Looking apologetic and not sure if he sounded weird.
But somehow his explanation makes you feel comfortable enough to tell him, so you looked at him,
"It's ok, dont be sorry. And yes, I kind of stays alone. But I have this best friend of mine, that would come crushing every so often to check if im still alive. So i'm not sure if that counts." Again, cursing yourself for the lame joke but it's kind of true too.
Well, atleast your reply showed Hyunwoo some relieved as you can see the smile back on his face.
"It would be nice if we could have…"
Before you manage to hear finished his sentence, the whole place start to shake violently. You could hear someone calling your name very loudly, somewhere but you couldn't find the source. Scared as hell, you closed your eyes shut.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you opened your eye, you were in a dazed. Minhyuk is now on the sofa beside you and shaking you violently. You frowned, now back to your sense. You were quite sure if he were to continue shaking, you would have thrown up on him that instant.
"Babe! Back on earth?! You scare the hell out of me!" "What happen to you?!" "I came into the apartment and the first thing I saw is your dead body on the sofa!" "I mean lifeless. I mean.." As Minhyuk went on with his chains of words, you rolled your eyes at him. You can totally see that small smirked on his face.
You had given Minhyuk the password to your apartment on day one when you move in, as he was whining non-stop about it until you gave him the digits. Since the both of you are having movie night every other Saturday, so you though it did be more convenient to do so too. But Minhyuk always says, it's for your safety so he can come by to check on you and see if you're still alive and kicking. You just want to rolled your eye, knowing all too well it's for his own convenience, as he always comes over for free meals, if not when he wants to escape from his mom's nagging. But even so, you never really mind it because he would keep you accompany whenever nightmares start taunting you.
"What time is it now?" you asked.
"It's almost 7PM, y/n! And you are supposed to start cooking dinner at 6:30PM!" He shouted across the kitchen while getting you a glass of water.
You took the glass from him while trying to figure out what just happened.
"Are you having nightmares again?" Minhyuk asked with concern on his face.
"No, it's not a nightmare. In fact, it was a good dream." You paused.
"Well, at least it is until someone starts shaking me so violently, I thought there was an earthquake." You said to him with a somewhat annoyed tone now. He pouted.
You stood up wanting to get a quick shower because you're still in your yesterday's work clothes but your ankle give way. Now you remembered that you had sprained your ankle and it's still swollen. You realised what was not adding up. You were dreaming, that's why it wasn't hurting earlier.
And that guy in your dream, Hyunwoo.
Who is he? Have you seen him before?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s been a month since you dreamt of Hyunwoo and you were hoping to dream of him again but instead, the whole nightmare routine starts bugging you instead.
Today, was no different as you find yourself fighting the tiredness to sleep. But after sometime, you finally can’t hold much longer and you fell asleep on the sofa. When you opened your eye and to your delight, you were at the same cafe, same sofa seat where you and Hyunwoo were at before.
"Hey, your coffee." Looking up, you saw that smiley eyes that you were missing so much, right in front of you.
"Hey.." You replied, fighting the urge to ask if he he's real. Afraid that it would break the spell to whatever is causing this dream.
You decided to throw the thought to the back of your head, as you have been waiting for this to happen ever since that day, you tell yourself to enjoy it well it last. So, you turned your focus back on him.
"How have you been?" You smiled while sipping on the coffee he got for you.
"I'm good. And I've been thinking about talking to you again" That sudden confession caught you off guard.
Has he been thinking about me? This is a dream, right? He's probably a reflection of what I've been wanting to hear from a guy.
Now you're very much convinced by yourself that all this are probably just in your head.
The both of you talked for a while, enjoying each other's company. It felt nice talking to Hyunwoo and you were hoping to talk for a little longer but a loud ringing sound woke you up.
Lazy hand searching for the source of the dreadful sound, you grabbed the alarm and turn it off. Looking at the time, it's now 5AM and you know you are back at the harsh reality of work week. A sigh leaves you as you drag your heavy body out of bed.
On the way to work, you can't help but be hopeful about dreaming of Hyunwoo again since the second time did happened.
Indeed, you found yourself seeing Hyunwoo in your dreams for the third, fourth and fifth time in a spent of 2 months. It always happens at the same cafe. The both of you would be seating at the same sofa seat, drinking the same drinks. Even though, there's no knowing to when you will be dreaming of Hyunwoo but when you did, he never fails to makes you happy and recharged. You start seeing yourself looking forward to sleeping and dreaming again. Something that you use to love before adulting. Not to mention, nightmare have been less frequent and you were feeling better every day. It was a good sign for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And today you're dream again, the sixth time. But you found yourself at a different setting. It wasn't the usual cafe or the sofa seat that you always sat on. It was a place you are not familiar with. It was someone's home.
It was Hyunwoo's home to be exact. You can see his family picture framed up sitting on the kitchen's table. He was smiling so brightly in the picture and you can see where he probably gets his youthfulness from. You smiled because in front of you, stands a familiar back hovering over the stove.
"Your mum look so young and pretty." you said while admiring his back view.
He turned around sounded in agreement. Now turning towards you, you can't help but to admire this perfect looking guy, in his home clothes and combing his hair back with his hand. He wearing a white tee that hug his body perfectly, showing his chest muscles curve and broad shoulder and a pair of shorts that shows his long legs. Unaware of yourself checking him out so openly, he chuckled
"Enjoying your view huh?" he says jokingly as he turns back to cook.
You cough trying to hid your blushing face, "Ahem, are you cooking ramen?" "The legendary 'Hyunwoo's ramen'?" You giggled as you teased him.
"Yes, I promised its the real deal."
"Are you sure is that good?"
"Oh yes, it's that good that you would want for more." feeling challenged as he places the ramen in front of you.
"Go on, have a taste"
He leans in on the table, moving into your personal space as you took your first bite. You're trying to ignore his extremely close presence, not sure if it's the ramen or Hyunwoo that's making you all hot now.
"How is it? Good?" Staring at you earnestly, waiting for your feedback.
How am I supposed to concentrate and eating with him being so close?
In all honesty, he looks so yummy you just want to eat him instead. You can't help but blush so hard at your own desirable thoughts.
"Are you ok?" Hyunwoo asked as his hands feels your burning cheeks and his face just inches away from you.
Your face now so close to his. You looked at his so kissable lips and a sudden impulse urged you to slid forward and kiss him. You retreat back and shut your eyes, hoping to wakes up so you don't have to face the embarrassment from your action. But you didn't. Before you know it, you felt Hyunwoo lips clashing back on yours causing you to open your eye in a shock. That impulse and innocent kiss had turned into a heated open mouth kisses as Hyunwoo move his hand behind your head keep you closer. You felt yourself heated up from the action. You want more. He pulls away after a while, only to carry you up onto the table as he parted your legs to stand between you. He latched his lips back on yours and you swear you're feel all sorts of sensational feeling with what he was doing. Hyunwoo slowly moves his hand with lazy fingers gliding all over your body leaving hot trials and tingling feelings to where ever he passes. You can feel the shiver up your body and the tight knot somewhere inside of you wanting more of him.
He pulls you closer to him while moving down to your neck, giving you soft open kisses. You can feel his growing bulge pressing on your centre as he grinds up against you, cause you to make soft seductive moans that you never thought you're capable of making.
"Hyunwoo.." You murmur as you arched your back.
He tilted his head up to look at you, so done for him just from the kisses. You can see his pupils blown; eyes filled with lust. He wants you. Before you can think of anything, you shudder as you felt the sudden contact of his palm cupping your heated clothed centre. You moaned and that encouraged him to move further. He slipped his hand through the side of your shorts and pushing your panties aside. You hissed at him when he parts your folds and starts making circle at your swollen nub. You can't remember the last time someone had taken care of you like that and saying you were a moaning mess is an understatement. You moved your hand wrapping around his now fully grown budge, wanting to help him relief from the strain in his shorts. You can hear his low moaned when you start pumping him. He sounded so attractive, yet so sweet. Soon after, both of you were helping each other to chased your much needed high.
"Baby.." the sudden pet name got you closer to your high " I can't…" you curled your toe and shut your eyes, preparing for the rush that was going to come through.
 But talk about bad timing.
As you opened your eye as you found yourself lying on your own bed. You rolled over, face pressed down and you screamed into your pillow venting out your frustration. You need to settle your sexual frustration. Reaching down to your panties which is now soak with aroused.
You sighed. "I want him."
You find yourself craving for Hyunwoo. While thinking of him, you settle your needs with the fate of your own fingers.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 weeks went by after that heated dream you had. The seventh didn't come.
"Just go to that damn cafe! It won't hurt anyone…" Minhyuk retorted over at the other side of the phone. Clearly annoyed at you talking about the cafe for the nth number of times over the months.
You had told Minhyuk about all your encounter with Hyunwoo in your dreams. Maybe not all, you did leave the sixth encounter out to save yourself some teasing that you would for sure get from him.
"I dont know. I mean they're dreams. I shouldn't let it bothers me so much." turning and twisting your hair on your finger while you talked.
You have been thinking of going to that cafe ever since the first dream but you couldn't find a reason to go. You make your own morning coffee so you won't willing to spend that extra money on coffee outside. Work also got the best of you, so you go only between your work place or home. Your life it's so exhausting, so during weekends you just wants to stay at home do your overdue laundry and spend the rest of the day sloth-ing.
Today, Minhyuk finally convince you to get out of your den and you both were planning to meet for lunch.
"How about you go there and get me a cup of coffee before we meet?" Minhyuk suggested. Clearly taking advantage of your dilemma but, it works. You were more convince to pop by the cafe for a reason.
"You're one smart ass." you can hear his sinister laugh, knowing that he succeeded in getting himself a free coffee.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hi, welcome!" The girl behind the cashier smile as you walk through the door. In reality, you have never noticed this cafe before, so let alone visit it, but it felt familiar. The interior and the seating were the same as what you could remember from your dreams. You look at the menu board for a while, even though you know you would probably get an ice coffee to satisfy your caffeine needs as you didn't have one in the morning. But you saw 'Honey grapefruit tea" on the drink’s special menu and without much thinking you ordered it along with Minhyuk's ice coffee. You set down at the same sofa seat that you and Hyunwoo had sat on in the dream, while waiting for your orders.
Your phone vibrates.
TheannoyingBFF: Hey babe! Please dont kill me!
TheannoyingBFF: Hyungwon car broke down and he needs me to find him
You: ...
TheannoyingBFF: I'll buy you dinner tomorrow
TheannoyingBFF: I PROMISE!
You: You better!
You: Be glad that I'm still at the cafe and not on my way
TheannoyingBFF: I'm sorry and I love you!
You: I would've killed you
You: along with hyungwon
TheannoyingBFF: Hope you will bump into him, so my sin can be off set *Praying emoji*
You: ...
You: Bye
You grabbed your drinks when your order tag buzz and went back to the sofa seat. Having your plans cancelled and with no back up, you decided to stay in the cafe for a while. This cafe makes you smile. You were happy when you're there, so it naturally makes you feel good.
You took a sip of the new drink and with an impressed look, you mumble to yourself “Waoh, it's indeed nice and refreshing."  Continue drinking, you stare at Minhyuk's ice coffee that is place in front of the empty seat, you thought to yourself how lonely this makes you look. Like you've been bumped or something and this makes you feel like cursing at Lee Minhyuk.
'Ting Ting' the doorbell of the cafe rang. You didnt react to it as it has been sounding out quite a few times. While you continue to scroll through your feed, a familiar voice started talking.
"Hi, is this seat taken?" Looking at you and gesturing at the empty seat in front of you.
You looked up, couldn't believe by the person standing in front of you. You start looking around and find the cafe seat all packed, so you turned back to him "Erm.. No" while you kind of avoid looking at him as you try to calm your nerves and trying hard not to show that "love struck" expression.
He smiled and thank you as he set down. You moved the cup of now showing two layered coffee away, so he can have his space.
After a minute or so, his order tag buzzed and he stood up to get his drink. Your eye followed him as he went over to the counter. When he got his drink, you notice the table at the far end were about to leave and you can feel a slight disappointment in you, thinking that he would move to that available seats.
But to your surprise, you see him walking back towards you.
"If you don't mind, I did love to seat here. Is that ok?" His requested makes you smile.
 "I don't mind. Please seat."
Both of you were quiet for a while, looking at your individual phones when you decided to break the silence.
 "Do you stay around here?"
A sudden Goosebumps came to you as you asked the same question, at the same place, same spot.
He looked at you and with a soft smile, not questioning or looking at you weirdly.
 "Yes, I just.."
before he finished his sentence, you were mumbling under your breathe, like you already know what he would probably say.
"..moved here recently and was exploring the neighbourhood."
He now looked at you with wide eyes but somehow it doesn't look like he was spooked by you but rather a sense of realisation. Like you know his secret.
He grabbed your hand and rushed out of the cafe, bring you to the 'stairs of hell'. That very spot when he first met you.
"Do you know this spot?" trying to search for an answer from you.
"Yes" is all you say, as you're trying to process the situation here.
He grins, showing his teeth and his eyes turned into a smiley eye that were so familiar with.
"This is real right?" you couldn't help but asked.
Because at this moment, you were just confused and happy all at the same time. Hoping that this could be real and not wakes up to nothingness again.
"It is." "Let's do this all over again." Not sure what he means by his words, you waited.
"Hi, I'm Hyunwoo. Nice to finally meet you." he stretched out his hand wanting for a handshake.
You couldn't help but to smile and hug him instead. The guy that you have been thinking of, debating if he is real or just fantasy, is right in front of you.
"Hi.. I'm y/n" you murmur as you can feel the tears that trapped in your eyes threatening to fall out.
He hugs you back and you could hear him say "Thank you for finally going to that cafe."
You look up at him "Did you go to that cafe frequently, hoping that you could meet me?" You're certain your face is now showing that 'love stuck' expression as you ask that question.
"Yes" is all he said as he held your arms and gave you a kiss on your forehead.
That moment, knew you're the one that needs to buy Minhyuk a meal and you can't love him enough for giving you the reason to go to the cafe.
"Shall we continue where we left off?" He whispered softly into your ears and turns to look at you with a goofy smile.
You can feel your face burning as he reached down to kissed you on your lips.
Having to experience ‘real dream’ yourself, you now truly believed your grandparents dreams and that some dreams really do come true.
