Angstober Day 9
Scream
Spoiler: This is an excerpt from Until the Day I Die
“No,” he whispers as his tears begin to fall. “No. Nonono. Obi-Wan!” It’s useless to touch the body, to seek out a pulse when he already knows what happened, but he still does it. He still reaches out to brush back Obi-Wan’s hair as if that would have any meaning at all for the man who he just murdered. (The man who raised him, who was, and still is, his father, the man who has been his best friend for years and years, the man who always took care of him or at least tried to, even if he wasn’t very good at it.)
Anakin just killed him.
He killed Obi-Wan.
It doesn’t seem real; he feels entirely disconnected from his entire body, and he couldn’t say if he’s trembling from shock or heat or cold or –
He can’t process it though, can’t accept it, and he shakes Obi-Wan’s shoulder as if that could somehow bring him back and undo yet another of his stupid mistakes. “You can’t – you can’t do this to me,” he manages to say, as if there’s still someone here who can hear him. “Master, please. I need you.” His voice breaks.
Grief chokes him, drowns him, but he has nowhere to direct his anger and pain except at himself.
“Obi-Wan!” The scream is ripped from him, and he shatters entirely as his mind finally processes the implications of this, of what happened, of what he lost. (Everything. He lost everything. He didn’t know what it would mean to feel like he lost everything until this very moment. Everything else pales in comparison to this moment, to this… feeling.)

alright. i know. i literally gave you an anakin prompt already. but☝️ ..i’m here with another one.
modern!anakin running one of those tumblr porn blogs to talk about his nasty little fantasies. (not sure you remember this, but i wrote him posting “i like doing evil things to pretty girls.” while ago as an example of that behavior) and you happen to follow him. maybe you interact with him because you’re intrigued by his gross language and you reach out (maybe you swap some pics, and agree to meet). not sure how you’d wanna play it but ! i thought you’d wanna know about it
i think what’s so sexy about him doing this is he’s like… oddly nonchalant about it? he’ll mutual you, but never come onto you in a sexual or creepy way bc he’s a people pleaser and cares too much about people thinking he’s a weirdo. instead he just sends you memes relating to something you posted about one time just to show he listens, you know?
and like duh, he wants to fuck you, he’s a guy with a dick. but it’s better just to befriend you first, right? doesn’t wanna be a douche about it.
but then the two of you start talking properly outside of just memes, and calling, and flirting, and oh god — you’re one of those people. falling for someone online. someone who wouldn’t care that much to fly out to see you right? right?
he ends up in your city, and suddenly you’re picking him up from the airport ?? and you’re thinking jesus christ, yeah i’ve seen pictures of him and he’s very good looking but that’s gotta be… altered in some way right? there’s no way someone that fine runs a tumblr blog that depraved… and soon all 6ft- what, 4? of him is walking towards you in the airport, smiling so friendly and opening his sculpted arms for a hug and you’re just ????? fuck my life ??????
so the two of you go out to a bar, and literally one glass of wine in each and you’re giving him the big doe fuck me eyes, talking so much you don’t even think to get a second drink, the chemistry buzzing through your bones and up your skirt. he didn’t think he’d be getting lucky this fast, jesus — he booked to be here for like 2 weeks so he can really milk it out of you. poor thing was just too needy for it.
you’re blabbering how you’ve never done this before, having some guy fly out and fucking him on the first night when you leave the bar arm in arm, headed straight for his hotel. you think he might crumble under the pressure, again — who runs a blog that depraved and actually knows how to do all the stuff they talk about? but he’s so calm, collected, chuckling at your eagerness, reiterating one million times that there doesn’t ’have to’ be anything. not to feel pressured to do anything just because he flew out. great, so he’s a good guy too. you’re surprised your arousal wasn’t running down your legs like a faucet.
he knows his stuff, and it shows back in the hotel room, bringing you a glass of water even though you had one glass, telling you to drink it, forcing every form of consent out of you because he needs to know you want this like he does. even so, so much kissing once you start — giving you time to back out, giving you time to get so drooly and desperate you’re humping his lap and nearly crying.
anakin soothes you. “what do you want baby? flew out here just to see this pretty face, lemme give you what you want sweet girl just gotta tell me.” muttering it against your lips like he’s casting a spell.
“wanna — wanna do all the stuff you wrote about. thought about it every night.” you mewl, your tits heaving against his strong chest. there’s that low chuckle again, pretty smile lines on his cheeks you can’t help but kiss.
“mm, i remember a few you liked a lot. what was that one about having you on my lap, dick all in your guts, just rubbing that pretty clit ‘til you cream all over it. something like that, right baby?” his hands are massaging your hips and god — yes, yes yes whatever you say, nodding so hard your head might come off.
safe to say he keeps his word, showing you everything he knows.

It’s Wonderful News... Right?
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
YN is pregnant, and she has to tell Anakin. There's no reason to be worried, it's wonderful news. Right?
🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕
Masterlist
YN paced around her apartments biting her thumbnail as a million things ran about her head. Her friends in the senate had called her over to bring troubling news that the chancellor’s executive powers were making the republic they fought so hard for more like a dictatorship. Her husband was coming home today, and she could never tell how bad the damage from the war would be. And she was currently 5 months pregnant. She and Anakin had spent an intimate desperate night together before he was once again called off to war, now she was uncertain how to tell him there was a baby.
“Mistress YN. I’m certain Master Anakin will be overjoyed at the news.” C-3PO tried to reassure her as he stood on the side.
“I know he’ll be happy. I just don’t want him to make a rash decision for me. He’ll try to do something passionate to show me how happy he is, but I know how much the Jedi order means to him.” YN rambled, her eyes focusing on so many things. “How do I tell everyone?”
“I think you will find a solution, Ma’am.” Her sweet protocol droid tried to assure her once more. YN nodded and smiled in thanks, her pacing finally stopped by the sound of her doors opening. Anakin was home.
“Here we go…” YN whispered and held her swelling stomach.
“Hello love, i brought some food and-” He was interrupted by the sight of his wife and her swollen stomach greeting him. “YN… you’re.. are you?... is that…”
YN walked forward, grabbed his hand, and placed it on her stomach. “Yes. We’re having a baby.”
Anakin was frozen for only a moment, before wrapping his arms around YN and spinning her around. He kissed her face multiple times squeezing against him, then he stopped and dropped to his knees in front of her with both hands on her stomach.
“Can it hear me? Her? Him? What gender is it?” Anakin rambled. YN laughed slightly and placed her hands over his.
“I don’t know the genders just yet.” She mentioned, making him look up at her in shock.
“Genders? Are they twins?”
YN nodded and once again Anakin went to kiss her face. “So… you're pleased?”
“Of course… I didn’t think having kids would be an option before now.” He gave her another hug before pulling back. “We never planned for this. We should talk about what we wanna name them, where they should be raised, what-”
“We can talk more tomorrow. I just want to be held by you tonight. I wanna tell you what I’ve been up to and I wanna hear what you’ve been up to.”
Later, they were cuddled up on her couch. Anakin talking about the war, and the most beautiful planets and star systems he’d been to. About how he and Rex would escape death more times than he could count.
“I’ve seen Ahsoka a couple times.” YN mentioned, making Anakin look at her. “She’s snuck onto my balcony some times, I’ve had to just give her a secret code so that she wouldn’t have to sneak anymore.”
“Has she… asked about..” Anakin started, too ashamed to finish the thought.
“She does ask about you. You know she doesn’t blame you. It’s just the jedi order she lost faith in. I plan to tell her soon, I’d like her to be in their lives.” YN spoke as she scratched his scalp.
“I don’t think I can stay in the jedi order. I don’t want our children to-”
“Let’s not make a rash decision yet. You’re needed on the field. I’m needed on the senate. We’ll take this one day at a time, and once our children are here we can decide what futures we want to give them. Okay?”
Anakin sat up and kissed her deep. His hands were delicate on her cheeks as her fingertips returned to his scalp. One day and a time, just until the babies are born. It will be fine.

Exposed (Rewritten)
Ahsoka finds out about Anakin and Padme's relationship.
5k words
ao3
Ahsoka sighed. “Why do we have to come to this again?” she asked as she looked up at her master. They were approaching the banquet hall, the large double-doors in view.
“You know we can’t do the fun and exciting stuff all the time , Snips. War is more than just fighting. It’s politics as well,” Anakin explained, “and besides, we also need to honor Senator Amidala and her accomplishments. We’re her friends and we need to support her.”
Ahsoka sighed again. She hadn’t expected a lecture. At least it hadn’t been a long one. “Yeah, but Jedi do the fun and exciting stuff in the war, not the politics part.”
“We won’t be the only Jedi there. Obi-Wan will be there, too.”
“Oh, yay,” Ahsoka said sarcastically, “I feel so much better.”
Anakin laughed and shook his head. They reached the doors, and Anakin was about to grab one when it swung open, revealing Senator Amidala.
She was wearing an ornate gown the cool pale blue of the sky just before sunrise. She beamed at him. “Anakin! I’m glad you came.”
“Anything for you,” he said, smiling.
She moved as if to embrace him, but froze when her eyes landed on Ahsoka. Which was strange. Hugging wasn’t forbidden, but it was a false stereotype many people believed since Jedi weren’t supposed to keep emotional attachments with others or whatever it was the Council had instructed Ahsoka a million times before. It really said something about their teachings since she couldn’t even remember the exact wording of that rule now.
But Senator Amidala’s smile was still warm when she said, “It’s nice to see you too, Ahsoka.”
Ahsoka returned her smile. “And it’s nice to see you, Senator,” she replied politely. Politeness and mildness didn’t come easy to Ahsoka, but it was easier around the senator. She had a calming presence and wasn’t all stuck-up like most of the other senators.
“You can call me Padmé when it’s just us, Ahsoka.”
Ahsoka’s smile widened.
“But keep it formal in front of the other senators and Jedi,” Anakin instructed, suddenly serious.
Ahsoka caught Padmé’s eye, and she rolled them but then grinned afterwards. It was an exchange only the two of them were a part of, and it made Ahsoka feel special. And liked. She wasn’t often liked by others, and it made her feel as if she and Padmé were closer than acquaintances. Maybe even friends. But she wouldn’t go that far until she heard it from the senator herself.
Padmé invited them inside, and Ahsoka knew this was going to be a long night . The room was covered in fancy, glimmering decorations, the likes of which Ahsoka had only ever seen on Coruscant. Old and snobby senators alike milled about the entire room slowly sipping on their drinks, waiting for the main course to begin. It didn’t help Ahsoka hardly recognized any of them, and she knew she would be hearing more than enough politics tonight than she would ever like to know about. This was going to be a boring one. She turned to her master to commiserate their horrible situation (Ahsoka would honestly prefer a fleet of battle droids right now), but he was still talking to Padmé. And their conversation must have been really exciting because they were both completely engrossed in their conversation. Great . She was going to have to venture into the scary world of politics alone. Why couldn’t Rex be here?
Half an hour later, most of the senators had politely greeted Ahsoka, but they didn’t really say much to her. Thankfully. But then a really old senator approached her and started lecturing her about how the Senate was using its money. He was really going into detail. Ahsoka had no idea what half the words that he was using even meant. She decided to focus on the other party guests instead. She studied their clothing, their accents, even what drinks they were drinking. She was mentally going through the list of planets all of the senators originated from when a voice said,
“Ahsoka? Are you listening to me, child?” the old senator was saying to her. “This is extremely important.”
“Oh, um, of course,” Ahsoka lied, throwing him a fake smile.
“I am about to tell you how my people catalog their documents. It’s really quite fascinating. The system we use is extremely unique.” The senator took a breath, and Ahsoka knew this was her doom.
Then, miraculously, a tinging sound resounded throughout the banquet, interrupting the senator glued to Ahsoka’s side before he could begin blathering away again. Everyone looked to Padmé as she clinked her drink with a spoon. Anakin was still beside her. It was as if those two hadn’t talked to anyone else. Those traitors had abandoned her! Ahsoka tried to glare at her master, but his eyes were fixed on Padmé. Oh, she’d get him back for this.
“Hello, everyone,” Padmé addressed, “I’m so glad you all were able to make it tonight. As you know, this is a major accomplishment that will change not only the Senate, but the Republic as a whole for the greater good. We are going to begin dining soon, so please make your way to the table.”
“Why don’t you sit with me?” the old senator asked. “Then we can finish our talk about documentation.”
No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
The elder senator put his arm around Ahsoka’s shoulders and began guiding her to the table. She had to do something and fast . She threw a panicked look at Anakin. She had to catch his eye. That’s all she had to do, then he would get her out of this. But he wouldn’t look away from Padmé for one second . That was all she needed. One second! But then her window for receiving help passed; it was too late. Ahsoka and the elder senator had arrived at the dining table. Once they sat down, Ahsoka looked up and saw that her master and Padmé were sitting across from her. So close.
Entrees were served, and the night really began. There was a dish for each major system represented. And an explanation of the culture behind each dish. Which was kinda fun the first three times, but Ahsoka grimaced when the droids began to bring out the fourth course. She finally met Anakin’s gaze, and they both exchanged a look of shared misery.
It was during the fourth course when Ahsoka knew she couldn’t take it anymore. She was going to die from this; slowly being overfed while some old-ass senator, whose name she still didn’t know, melted her brain with mind-numbing lectures about things that no one, even the Supreme Chancellor, would care about. Literally worse than war. She had to stop this—even for only a single second. Ahsoka dropped her fork.
“Oh sorry,” Ahsoka said, interrupting the senator. He was currently talking about the history of boots, and the significance they had to his people. So, you know, super fucking boring . “I dropped my fork. I’m just going to get it real fast.” Ahsoka slowly bent down to get her fork. She “accidentally” pushed it farther under the table.
As she was retrieving her fork, Ahsoka noticed something. She saw two people holding hands. A man and a woman, judging by the clothes. Strange they felt the need to hide their hands. Maybe it was more comfortable under the table? Or…there was drama. Finally , something exciting. She’ll have to tell Ana—
Oh.
Oh .
Ahsoka quickly sat up in her chair and looked across the table at her master and Padmé. They weren’t looking at each other. And Padmé was speaking with the senator on her left. And Anakin…he looked just as bored as Ahsoka was. Maybe she’d imagined it. Because there was no way . Being friends with someone was one thing, but having an attachment like this ? This would be enough for suspension. Or worse! But before Ahsoka could study her master and Padmé any further, she felt a tap on her shoulder. She turned.
“Now, where were we?” the ancient senator said. “Ah, yes, the boot. Did you know the boot plays a significant part in my people’s culture? It is quite captivating. Let me tell you about it.”
Ahsoka groaned.
---
The next morning, Ahsoka awoke ready for the day. Nothing could be worse than that banquet. The elder senator had talked to Ahsoka for the rest of the night— through the entire seven-course meal, through the dancing, and through Padmé’s speech at the end. But today was a new day. No more old senators for her!
Ahsoka and Anakin had been assigned a mission. Not anything big. There was a small earthquake on one of the planets in the Outer Rim, and she and her master were going to help the people there.
Ahsoka lied in bed until she was in danger of becoming late before she got ready. She rushed through her hygiene routine and bursted out of her room exactly a half hour before take-off. This was the plan for every mission she and Anakin had: to meet outside her room 30 minutes before they left. But Anakin wasn’t here. Which was not unheard of. But then five minutes passed. Five more. Nearly fifteen minutes in total passed before Ahsoka decided to seek out Rex since he was coming with them on this mission. But when she finally found him and asked him if he had seen her master, he said he didn’t know where he was.
Time was ticking, and Ahsoka began to get a little desperate. She started to search for her master in every place she could think of. Even completely unlikely and illogical places like the storage room in the hangar and the 501st’s temporary lodgings. But he was nowhere to be found! She felt like she had searched for him everywhere. Where could he possibly be ?
…There was the entire Senate wing of the building left. Why Anakin would be there, she had no idea, but she was honestly out of options. So, Ahsoka decided to go to Padmé’s office. It wasn't like she knew many senators, and it wasn’t like she knew many senators she liked . Padmé happened to be both, so she was really the only option.
Plus, Ahsoka was secretly hoping the senator would help her find her master. There were hardly any other people Ahsoka knew this closely, and so what if she wanted to indulge in some time with someone who actually had a sense of adventure? She thought last night went well, and Padmé had seemed genuinely glad she was there. But that could also be wishful thinking.
Shaking the self-doubt away, Ahsoka clicked the button to open the door to Padmé’s office, and it silently slid open.
To reveal Padmé and Anakin on the couch.
Kissing.
But, no.
Kissing would be too tame a term for this . No, this— this— was making out . Like, Padmé’s fingers tangled in Anakin’s hair sort of making out. Like, Ahsoka realizing Anakin’s hands were wandering to places she did not want to see the destination of type of making out.
It all happened in one instant. And it was too much to see. It was too personal to see.
And it wasn’t allowed.
Oh, fuck.
In a rush of adrenaline, Ahsoka clicked the button to close the door. She didn’t even remember racing down the hallway and into the restroom, but now here she was, standing in a locked stall, deep breaths echoing loudly in the empty bathroom.
What. The. Fuck.
What the fuck !!!
The image of them kissing flashed through her mind before she could stop it.
Oh, shit. Shit . That was so fucking gross . And, also, what the fuck !!
There was no way. There was no fucking way that really happened.
She needed to calm down. She needed to think more clearly about this.
She remembered their wandering hands and couldn’t stop the disgusted noise that crawled its way up her throat.
Why?!
How long had this been happening?! How had she not known ?!
Did she…did she really see what she saw?
Her mind unhelpfully conjured the memory up for her. Again. She shivered in disgust. Okay, yup. It was real. There was no way she could make that up. No fucking way.
And, oh, shit. Anakin! He should not be doing this. This…this thing …was definitely not free from emotional entanglement. This was bad . So bad. He knew better than this!
Oh, what was she going to do ??
Ahsoka couldn’t snitch on him. She couldn’t do that to him. She couldn’t lose him. That just wasn’t an option. Especially not over something like this . Something so trivial in comparison to the other times she had been afraid to lose him. The only threat to losing Anakin should be on the battlefield. Not anywhere else.
Ahsoka couldn’t go through the process of getting a new master either. But…if worse came to worse, she could probably become Obi-Wan’s Padawan, and she knew he’d let her spend time with Anakin. So…maybe…it wouldn’t be so bad.
But only if Anakin didn’t get expelled. Which…was a very high possibility. And she would never, ever be the reason he got expelled. So…telling anyone about this was completely out of the question.
What was she supposed to do??
She needed to calm down. That was what she needed to do right now. She needed to center herself. Get herself together. So she took a deep breath. And then another. And another. Until she was breathing normally again.
She had to ask him. She had to know for certain if there even was anything to freak out about. But, until then, she wasn’t going to think about it. It wasn’t even going to cross her mind.
…But the more she tried not to think about it, the more she did.
She had to get out of the bathroom. That was the first step.
Ahsoka unlocked the stall door, and it opened with a painful squeak. She caught a glimpse of herself as she passed the sinks and mirror, and she looked terrified. She forced herself to relax, letting the tension bleed from her shoulders. She looked a little more natural now, but still a bit stiff. She sighed. Moments like these made her wonder what exactly her life was.
When she opened the restroom door, movement down the hallway caught her eye, and she turned. Anakin was just now stepping out of Padmé’s office. He must’ve felt her nearby because he turned and then smiled when their eyes met.
Ahsoka’s heart jumped at directly looking at the person whose secret she knew. Fuck. Keeping this hidden from him was going to be super difficult . It was one thing to keep a secret, but it was another thing entirely to keep a secret from the person you spend the most time with about the person you spend the most time with. This entire situation was a time bomb.
How the hell did Anakin keep this secret?
She must already be giving something away, because he asked, “Are you okay, Ahsoka?”
She smiled something painful. “Oh, yeah, totally. I’m so good right now. Yup!” She smiled even wider to try to convince him.
It didn’t seem to work, because he raised a skeptical eyebrow. “Okay,” he said unconvinced, “if you say so.”
But he didn’t push it any further and began to lead them down the hallway towards the ship they were going to take on their mission. The silence was excruciating, but Ahsoka didn’t know what to say. It was weird. It was wrong . This knowledge changed everything , and she hated it.
The silence persisted, and Ahsoka began to drown in it.
Should she say anything? What would she normally be talking about? It had all been so effortless before. Talking with Anakin had been easy before. Will it never be easy again?
A small icy panic clutched at her heart. Is everything between them ruined now??
---
Ahsoka bolted out of the ship the second they landed. She plowed onward so quickly and so determinedly that she missed the rubble entirely until she tripped over it. She stumbled over a large piece of crumbling building and blinked up at the scene before her. The day was bright and sunny with only a few clouds in the sky, but the earthquake's destruction was obvious. Large cracks slashed across the land, and broken speeders and droids were strewn all over the fractured street like electronic skeletons. Buildings were nothing more than large piles of rubble. People were sifting through them, and Ahsoka realized some of them were crying. These must be their homes—reduced to nothing but meaningless pieces. Others huddled in groups, tense, but together. Hopelessness filled the air. It was awful.
“Ahsoka!”
It was Anakin. Ahsoka closed her eyes and summoned a deep breath for courage.
She turned and grinned. “Yes, Master?”
He reached her, and she watched his eyes flick over her, taking in her tense stance and the distance she’d placed between them.
He asked, “Is there something we need to talk about?”
She could easily say no. She could easily lie. But when she met his gaze, she knew she couldn’t. Because this was Anakin . Her master. The most important person in her life. Someone who felt more like a brother to her—more like family— than was probably allowed. But what was “allowed” didn’t matter. Not really. Not now. What mattered was him . And how important he was to her. And how important she was to him. She could see it now, in the way he was looking at her with such strong concern.
“Yes,” she finally admitted.
“Okay,” he said gently. “What’s going on?”
It was difficult to hold his gaze, but she did. Her heart was pounding as if she was engaged in battle. It was distracting and a bit embarrassing how affected she was over a conversation.
She asked, “Do you have, um…feelings for someone?”
Maybe she should’ve been more direct. Maybe she should’ve just told him outright what she saw. But this was hard . And she was trying . …Struggling might have been a more accurate word.
“Why?” He stepped closer. “Is this about someone you’ve met?”
Intrusively, the phrase overprotective brother popped into her mind.
She shoved it away. “No!” she exclaimed frustratedly. “I’m talking about you ! Do you have feelings for someone!”
He immediately tensed. Defensive. This was exactly what she didn’t want. Her outburst probably hadn’t helped, and she internally chided herself for not having better control over her emotions.
“Ahsoka, that is inevitable. I think we’ve all had feelings for someone at some point in our lives,” he answered vaguely. “Now what is this really about?”
Ahsoka deflated. “I saw you today,” she began, “with Padmé.” She raised her eyebrows, signaling for him to get the message , so she wouldn’t have to explain it in any more detail. Because she did not even want to think about the details, let alone say any of them out loud .
It took Anakin a moment to understand what she meant, and then his face turned a bright shade of red. It was almost funny if she wasn’t on the verge of panicking.
“I’m not sure what you thought you saw,” Anakin began, but his face was still red, so there was no denying that they both knew what she’d seen.
Ahsoka glared and crossed her arms. “I know what I saw. Anakin .”
The use of his name was surprisingly effective, and he startled when she said it. “Okay, well, look.” His eyes danced around, never settling on anything for more than a second. “There’s an explanation. For what you saw.”
She had never seen her master panic like this before, and it was hilarious . She’d seen him stare down countless battle droids and Separatist generals without batting an eye, but now he was a complete mess over a kiss ? She could hardly believe it!
Ahsoka almost didn’t hide her grin in time when she taunted, “Oh, please, do tell .”
“Well. Okay. We were…” He still didn’t look her in the eyes.
“You were what ?”
“...Have you already told Obi-Wan?” he asked quietly, and when he managed to lift his eyes, he looked devastated .
Oh.
“No,” she said softly. “No, Master, I didn’t.” She took a couple steps closer. His eyes were glued to her, and he suddenly looked so young . Like he really was just a few years older than she was. Like he was only a teenager himself almost a year ago. “I didn’t tell anyone,” she promised.
Anakin frowned. “But I— This is a violation of the Jedi Code.”
“And? We break the rules all the time, don’t we?”
Steadfastly and unrelenting, “This is different, Ahsoka.”
“How?” she challenged.
“It’s been– We…”
An uncomfortable beat.
“It’s serious . Isn’t it?” she asked, her tone softer.
He nodded.
“You… Are you in love with her?”
His features lightened then into something soft and vulnerable— lovesick —and the tension left him so fast, his shoulders slumped in relief. “Ahsoka…” He hesitated. His eyes were fierce when he spoke, “You understand you can tell no one .”
“I know.”
And she really did. She had discovered his most well-hidden, deepest secret. Something he held closer to his heart than anything else. She had looked into a part of him that almost no one else knew about. This was Anakin in his purest—his most vulnerable—form: a man willing to risk everything to keep the woman he loved. To continue to exist in defiance to the life he swore all for love . It was incredible, and it was something he thought he had to hide. That he had been taught to hide.
Then Ahsoka realized that he didn’t answer her question.
But it was like he read her mind, because he said, “I married her.”
Before Ahsoka could even begin to process that , the ground started to shake. It jolted , and Ahsoka nearly lost her balance. People screamed. Troopers rushed about, assisting anyone they could. For a moment, Ahsoka could feel the terror of the destruction the original quake had caused. It nearly drowned her, but then Anakin’s hand was on her shoulder, sharply bringing her back to the present.
It was only an aftershock that lasted for a few seconds, and the dust settled and people quieted. Except for one. Someone was continuing to scream. Anakin and Ahsoka quickly exchanged a look before racing towards the sound.
A woman was crying near a house with a door completely blocked by debris. Anakin knelt down next to her and put a hand on her shoulder.
“What’s wrong?” he asked her.
“My child! My little girl is stuck in the house!” she cried. “She was in the basement during the aftershock, but now it’s blocked! I can’t even get into the house!” Then she bursted into tears.
“Watch her,” Anakin instructed. “I’ll find a way inside.” He jumped to his feet.
“Master!”
He paused.
“Be careful,” Ahsoka pleaded.
He smiled warmly, and his eyes finally lit back up to how they usually were. “Don’t worry about me, Snips. I’ll be fine.”
She watched as he took off, easily finding an entrance through one of the windows at the front of the house. A strange ache filled her chest, making her want to run after him. She pushed it down and turned to the woman and placed a hand on her shoulder like Anakin had been doing moments before.
“It’s going to be alright,” Ahsoka comforted. “He’ll get her out of there.”
Through choked tears, the woman asked, “How can you be sure?”
“Because I know him,” Ahsoka said, “and he’ll do everything he can to make sure your daughter is rescued. I’ve seen him do it before.”
“You’re Jedi.”
Ahsoka nodded. “Saving people is kind of our thing.”
The woman furrowed her brow as if she disagreed, but before she could speak, another aftershock hit. This one was more violent than the first. The ground pitched beneath them and threw them both on their backs. The ground continued to shake in rough, jerky shudders, making it impossible to stand. A horrible crackling sound erupted near the house. More debris rained down from what was left of the house, and most of the roof caved in. The woman beside Ahsoka screamed and attempted to race towards the house, but Ahsoka grabbed her and held onto her.
The woman struggled against Ahsoka’s hold. “Let me go!” She thrashed. “Let me save my daughter! Please !”
“Wait! Wait !” Ahsoka commanded and strengthened her grip on the woman.
A defeated sob tore its way from the woman’s throat, but she stilled. She shook in Ahsoka’s arms, and the Padawan didn’t know whether to keep holding onto her or not. But she wasn’t stuck in indecision for long because the aftershock quickly faded, dust stirring before finally settling, new ruins appearing out of the haze.
Ahsoka hesitated for several tense moments, but eventually said, “I’m going to see if they need help.”
“H-How can they need help if they’re dead?” she sobbed.
“They’re not dead,” Ahsoka reassured firmly before standing and walking over to the house.
At least, Anakin wasn’t dead. She would’ve felt it. She wasn’t sure about the daughter, but she forced herself not to dwell on that until she knew for sure.
The rubble covering the house was unstable. Smaller bits continued to rain down, falling into the house through dark holes and cracks. The house itself was littered with fractures and barely standing; it was slowly collapsing and would probably be nothing more than a pile of rubble by the end of the day. One wrong move, and the entire structure would crumble, crushing anyone inside.
It was a death trap.
“Master!” Ahsoka called. “Can you hear me?”
“—soka! Ahsoka!” He sounded from deep within the rubble. Impossibly far. As if he was somehow farther below the debris.
A basement. He’d found safety in a basement. Oh, please, let the girl be alive.
Ahsoka shouted, “Don’t move anything! It’s all about to collapse on you!”
“What! How are we supposed to get out then?”
We . The girl was still alive.
“I can do it.”
“What?” he shouted.
“I can do it! I can use the Force to move everything off of you!” she shouted back.
He replied, but it was too muffled for her to hear.
“What!” she called.
“Are you sure?” he yelled. “Do you need to get Obi-Wan?”
“No! There’s no time! The house will collapse before he gets here! I can do it!” she reassured.
There was a pause so long Ahsoka thought she might need to repeat herself.
“Are you sure?” he asked again.
“Yes! There might be another aftershock. I have to do this now. Just hold on, Master.”
She waited for his response, but she heard nothing.
She shouted at the crumbling building, “You have to trust me!” Her voice echoed across the rubble, causing the following silence to feel more desolate than before.
Ahsoka took a step back to assess the house and the way the debris had landed to best see which parts she needed to lift first.
Belatedly, Anakin replied, “Okay, Ahsoka! I’m trusting you with my life!”
It was his tone. He sounded more desperate than she was used to hearing. Her master never faltered in high-stakes situations like this. And he always trusted her.
Because it wasn’t about Ahsoka lifting the rocks. It was about Padmé. It was about Anakin’s marriage . He hadn’t really been given a choice in sharing it with her. She had stumbled upon it. But now he was trusting it to her. He was relying on her to keep his secret—to keep the most important thing in his life safe .
It was something he hadn’t given to anyone else. Of this, Ahsoka was absolutely certain.
“I’ll keep you both safe,” she promised in a whisper, unheard by anyone but herself.
---
It went smoothly after that. Moving the unstable debris off of the house proved to be an easier task than Ahsoka had first thought. Some of her training before she became a Padawan had been more difficult.
The daughter was saved, and the mother thanked Ahsoka profusely for her help, tightly embracing her with tear-stained cheeks. Strangely, it was the small moments like those that made Ahsoka actually feel as if they were making a positive difference. None of the battles she had ever fought felt as good as that small moment had.
The town came together and cooked for the clones and Jedi with their broken utensils and limited ovens as a way of saying thanks. It was oddly touching, having people who just lost everything provide for them.
Anakin and Ahsoka sat with their dinner shared on a blanket between them, the sun beginning to set, casting a golden glow. There weren’t enough chairs to go around, and the two of them didn’t mind sitting on the ground. It drew them closer, and Ahsoka caught Anakin staring at her with a warm grin on his face.
She thought she wouldn’t see it again. That they’d been ruined by what she had discovered.
Ahsoka smiled back. “So,” she said while popping a native fruit into her mouth, her confidence renewed by Anakin’s smile, “are you and Padmé officially… you know.”
Anakin raised his eyebrows in amusement. “Married?” he finished for her.
Ahsoka nodded.
“You can’t tell anyone , Ahsoka.” After seeing her unimpressed expression, he added, “I mean it!”
Seriously, “I know.” An echo from earlier. She reached across and grabbed his hand.
He held hers back, his grip steadfast and firm. He smiled brightly at the ground, and said softly, happily , “Yeah, we’re official.”
She leaned forward. Because that was crazy ! It was against the rules big time for Jedi, and Padmé was a senator ! And the fact that the two of them had made it official meant there was documentation as proof !! If this ever got out, it would be the biggest scandal of the entire galaxy!
“Really!” she replied giddily, voice breathless. “When?” Her mind raced, trying to fill in gaps when this could have occurred. “Was it when I got sick for a week a few months ago?”
He was blushing as he shook his head. “No,” he said sheepishly. “It was…it was way before I met you.”
Ahsoka’s jaw dropped. “ What !! Wait, how long have you been married??”
“Well…” He scratched the back of his neck. He looked up, bright eyes catching hers. “If you want the full story, it started the day we met.”

For the WIP ask game: I'm a sucker for Mandalorianakin as a whole, so I need to know. The rest of them sounds AMAZING though.
Mandalorianakin it is!
So, I don't have much of another snippet to share so I'll ramble a little instead!
(but I have to start by giving so so SO much credit to @seleneisrising and @direwolfrules for being my enablers and giving me lots of ideas for this AU!)
So, this whole AU starts when Qui-Gon doesn't die. No death, no dying promise to train Anakin. No dying promise to train Anakin, and the council puts its foot down, so now they have to figure out what to do with Anakin.
Obi-Wan gets the idea to call Satine. Mandalorians adopt people, right?
Satine is raising her nephew Korkie, who's only a few years younger than Anakin. And since Mandalorians have a tradition of adopting a second child if they only have one, so their kid doesn't grow up lonely, Satine says "sure, bring him over!" thinking that she'll see if Korkie and Anakin get along and go from there.
Anakin arrives and thinks everything is so cool. He fits in pretty well, and he instantly latches on to a young red-haired pilot, a Protector-in-training.
Fenn thinks Anakin's an adorable little kid until Anakin "I'll Try Spinning That's A Good Trick" Skywalker gets into the pilot's seat, uninvited. Then Fenn discovers just what a tiny menace this child is, but it's too late to get away, Anakin latches on to him and now Fenn has a 24/7 shadow.
Kay, fast forward. Anakin, because he's a Tiny Gremlin, goes out to explore the city and runs into none other than Bo-Katan Kryze. He giddily drags her home, having recognized her from a family portrait.
Her career with Death Watch ends exactly three days after it started. Her sister hugs her when she comes home. Bo is only sixteen. She never looks back.
(At some point, Anakin drops that he used to be a slave and that his mom is still enslaved. Bo's like "...gimmie the address.")
(A few days later, Shmi arrives on Mandalore. She takes one look at Satine, who is 23 and stressed beyond reason and constantly on the verge of a breakdown, and goes "kay... guess I have a daughter now.")
Korkie grows up, Anakin grows up, everything is adorable and chaotic. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon are semi-regular visitors and Anakin calls Obi-Wan at least once a month to tell him about all the cool stuff he's doing!
And then Padme Amidala is almost killed by an assassin—an assassin wearing Mandalorian armor.
Obi-Wan calls Satine again. She knows from the moment she hears of it that Anakin will want to go help. Padme is an old friend of his, after all. So she gives permission, and Anakin puts on his pilot armor, hops in a ship, and sets off for Coruscant.
He comes home a week later with three million brothers and plans for that slave revolution he's always been hoping for.
Also, he and Padme started (a) dating and (b) a war.
Oops?

Hold the ice
"Anakin!!!!!", howled Obi-Wan Kenobi, looking for his former padawan.
Anakin Skywalker, Hero of the Republique and Jedi Knight, has defeated Lord Sidious instead of falling to the Dark Side as that Devil wished. In order to do so, Anakin had to protect the younglings, fight hundreds of clones and duel with the Sith Lord.
And just when they thought they were winning, it happened. An enormous wave came crashing against Corusant. Master Kenobi along himself, Master Yoda and others, started to yell at people to protect themselves, to go on their ships. Bail Organa went running with a very pregnant Padme Amidala in his arms, who has chosen to give birth in that very moment.
"ANAKIN!", howled again, stronger, with a voice that startled even Master Yoda. "Where are you???"
Then, they saw it in awe.
Anakin Skywalker has, somehow, in tune with the Force, transformed the wave of water into a wall of ice. Easy to contain but impossibly heavy. The young knight was levitating, containing it with his hands and the force.
"Anakin no...", whispered Obiwan as Mace restrained him, "Let me go to him!!!"
"Go to him, you mustn't. To save us is his destiny", said Yoda
Obiwan fell to his knees as he notices his bond with Anakin shattering into a million pieces the moment the wave exploded into a million of pieces of ice.
Anakin fell to the floor.
Obiwan ran to him and catch him in his arms, howling for help
3 hours later
'We don't know if.. he'll wake up", moaned Padme in despair, clutching to Obiwan and Bail Organa hands. " Ani... my love, please. You need to see how beautiful our children are... Ani, we love you, I love you"
Then she got up from the chair and went to the window. She hit the window fiercely.
Bail went to her and hugged her.
"Damn you, Palpatine" Damn you, force! Don't you dare to take him from me"- cried Obiwan in his hands.
Both of them looked in shock to Master Kenobi, who always looked calm and serene. But not today. Not the day they almost took the most important thing in his life.
"You need to wake up, my brother", whispered Obiwan, holding anakin's hands close, "You need to see your children. God, their eyes as just like yours. I still remember the first time I hold you in my arms, although much older. You were... crying, missing your mother. And I, refused to follow what the Code has taught me, I had to comfort you. So I hold you close to my chest so you could hear the beating of my heart. Do you remember, anakin?", cried Obiwan, as the line of Anakin's monitor was still flat
Yoda and Mace Windu came into the room. Mace tried to go and keep the master away from Anakin to help the medics. Yoda stopped him.
"Stop him, you must not. The bond between Master and Padawan may still save Skywalker life", said the Master.
Padme has moved to sit in front of her husband, crying softly at hearing Obi-Wan words.
"Force, I beg you. Don't take him fom me. Take my life instead. Take my life instead, please. Anakin, listen to me, you have to wake up. Wake up for your wife, for your children. You saved us all. Everyone, you hear me? - Obiwan closed his eyes and everyone could feel the room trembling slightly, "Anakin, my brother, my child... come back, come back to me"
As he said the words, the ones he had always kept hidden, the words Anakin had longed to hear for 13 years, a light joined Anakin chest to Obiwan's chest, a light so bright it blinded everyone else.
The Force sang.
And then, Anakin Skywalker opened his eyes, to smile gently at his old master who was smiling through his tears. Everyone was crying, even Mace Windu.
"Missed me, old man?", asked Anakin.
"Don't you ever do this to me again, you hear me??", growled Obiwan as he hugged fiercely his child.
"The world moves for love. It kneels before it in awe", said Master Yoda, "A master and his apprentice showed us today how strong is. Fortunately, this bond was stronger than the Dark Side.

Wings of Hope
read it on the AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/43734001 by Mithril_and_Acorns The oldest culture in the galaxy, was one without words. It was a culture mixed with the beliefs of a thousand worlds and millions of races. A culture of pain filled eyes, and trembling hands. Blue eyes were just about to pass over the imposing character, when a flash of red made him pause. There, several steps to the left and half hidden behind the Chancellor, was a boy. Roughly around his age, though much shorter, the flash of red had been the other’s curly hair. Though now that Anakin was paying closer attention, he realized it was actually more of a strawberry blonde than true red. The strands catching the artificial light of Coruscant’s sun. Or, Anakin is intrigued by a cute boy. Qui-Gon is an oblivious moron. Chancellor Valorum deserved better, and managed to save his chancellorship with help from his brilliant aide. The Force is With Me
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/w8JYRls by lucy_in_the_sky_99_01 She gripped Padmé’s hand tightly in one of hers, afraid that if she let go then she might fall again. The fight had left them both with some mild injuries, cuts and bruises here and there, none of which Corra had the time or energy to fix. Instead, she had messily bandaged them both up with supplies from her belt pouches. Their bodies were packed amongst several heavily armoured others, wobbling and jolting with each twist and turn. --- Corra is a Jedi, amongst other things. Febuwhump 2024 - Day 8: Why Won't it Stop?
Fandom: The Bad Batch (Star Wars) Characters: Rex, Fives Word Count: 468 Content Warning: None Previous // Next Febuwhump 2024 Masterlist
Summary: Rex continues to be haunted by his night terrors.
Tumblr media
“Fives, no—”
Rex froze in shock as Fives lunged for his blaster. Fox and the other troopers rushed toward them, blasters raised and ready to shoot. With shaking hands, Fives raised the blaster, aiming for Fox, but not before the shock trooper pulled the trigger. Rex watched as the bolt pierced through the air and through Fives’s chestplate.
Fives gasped in pain, slowly looking down at his wound before crumpling to the floor.
“Fives!” Rex shouted.
“Get this ray shield down!” Anakin shouted.
Rex pounded against the shield, tears blurring his vision. Once the shield dissipated, Rex stumbled toward Fives and kneeled beside his brother.
“Medic!” Rex pleaded, glancing over his shoulder at Fox. “We need a medic!”
“Rex…” The captain turned back to Fives, his brother’s hand trembling as he reached for Rex’s pauldron. “The mission, Rex… the nightmares…”
“Fives,” Rex sobbed, pulling his brother into a weak hug. Where was that medic?! “Fives, stay with me!”
“They’re finally… over.”
Tumblr media
Rex awoke with a small gasp, his body jolting as he returned to consciousness. He was drenched in sweat, the arm propping his head up was sore, and tears had stained his face. Slowly, the dream caught up to him, reminding him of the gut-wrenching hole in his heart. Fives… it had been so long, he had almost forgotten the despair he felt when his beloved brother was shot before his eyes.
Almost.
After helping Hunter and his squad remove their inhibitor chips, Rex just couldn’t stop thinking about the whole ordeal, how Fives had tried to warn him and General Skywalker about the chips and their ability to force clones across the galaxy to kill the very Jedi they served.
Rex thought about his chip, and how if it weren’t for Ahsoka, he would probably be working for the Empire.
“Why…” Rex muttered, swinging his legs over the bunk and looking around. He was in his ship, tucked away in a remote spaceport in the Outer Rim, hoping to contact any clones who might be willing to help fight against the Empire. It had been weeks since he had last spoken with another person, let alone someone friendly.
Why did the clones have to be put through so much suffering? All they ever did was serve their generals, followed orders. General Skywalker was one of the closest friends Rex ever had, and to realize his own brothers had killed him against their own will… it was too much to bear.
Rex dropped his head into his hands, his teeth gritted. Why did it have to be like this? Why did millions of clones have to suffer for things they weren’t at fault for? Why did so many of his brothers have to die for a cause they weren’t involved in?
Why wouldn’t it all just stop?

I love you so much. I'm so sorry.
He makes his way out of his office and bursts into Cody's quarters a few minutes later, scanning him, Hunter, and Crosshair before launching into orders.
"I need every piece of security footage in this gods-damned galaxy that picked up a child with blonde hair and blue eyes," he points at Crosshair, moving his finger to Hunter.
"Spend time with mine and Lili's clothing. Get used to our scent. Then go find it somewhere else."
He points to Cody now. "Send out an alert. A bounty. A warrant. Whatever the fuck you want to call it. 500 million credits for whoever finds the child of Anakin and Lili Skywalker."
Cody stares at him sadly for a long moment, finally deciding on, "What's going on? We can't just- did you hear something?" he asks quietly.
Vader tears up and shakes his head a little, "I- I don't- she spoke to me," his voice breaks, "She- her spirit. And- and she said- and she said our pup is- he was taken by pirates and I don't-"
"Okay- it's okay," Cody assures him, walking over to give him a gentle hug, "It's okay, we'll find him. I promise you we'll find him."
“How far out are we?” I ask Zach after a while, shifting to tuck Luca in a bit better now that he’s done feeding.

Revenge Of The Sith (Part 4)
Words: 4739
Warnings: language? typical Star Wars violence, the plot of ROTS (bc yes, that needs it’s own warning)
Star Wars Masterlist Main Masterlist
(THIS IS X READER I PROMISE IF YOU WANT THE NONE X READER VERSION THEN GO TO @imnotobsessedwfictionalchracters)
So I have like…a million OC’s. One of which I have with Anakin Skywalker. Recently (like a few months ago) I decided to rewrite Revenge of the Sith, but instead of Padme, it’s my OC and it becomes an AU near the end bc Obi Wan is able to pull Anakin back to the light. So, I decided to rewrite it (AGAIN) to make it x reader. So yeah, here it is, I hope you enjoy
This was meant to end in a different way, but I got carried away and this is what happened
Also, I NEARLY FUCKING SCREAMED AS I NOTICED LITTLE THINGS WHILE PAUSING AND PLAYING THE FILM AS I WROTE THIS WHOLE STORY (YES PARTS 1-3 TOO) AND IT'S JUST...YEAH BRO! I ALSO STARTED TO TAKE PICTURES OF THE SCREEN RANDOMLY WHEN IT WAS PAUSED SO IF Y'ALL WANT THAT, LMK
ANYWHO, ENJOY THE OBIANI FIGHT!
(Previous Part)
The moment that Palpatine accepted the transmission, Anakin spoke, “The Separatists have been taken care of, my Master.”
“It is finished then. You have restored peace and justice to the galaxy. Send a message to the ships of the Trade Federation. All droid units must be shut down immediately.”
“Very good, my lord.” However, instead of doing what he was told, he turned his attention to the beeping and saw that a ship was coming into the atmosphere. And when he read the information on it, he left where he was to go check it out. And when he saw the ship land, he immediately knew it was Y/N's . But why was she here? Had something happened? Was she okay? Was the baby okay? All the questions swarmed his mind as he removed the hood of his cloak. The yellow eyes had gone back to his blue as he ran out to greet her.
And then as she had landed, Y/N sat there for a moment with her head in her hand. She was trying so hard to not cry. To keep herself calm. When her eyes landed on Anakin, she pressed the button for the door to open and she quickly got off of her ship and ran to him. She ran into his arms and hugged him. “I saw your ship.” He carefully pulled away and his concern grew, “What are you doing out here?”
“I was so worried about you.” She kept her hands on his arms. She kept moving them as she couldn’t stay still. “Obi Wan told me terrible things.”
His concern turned to anger as the words left her lips. “What things?”
Her hands fell, “He said that you’ve turned to the Dark Side. That you,” He looked down and away from her as she hesitated, “Killed younglings.”
“Obi Wan is trying to turn you against me.”
She shook her head softly, “He cares about us.”
“Us?” he said cynically.
Her hands came back to his arms, “He knows. He wants to help you.” He let out a silent laugh as he didn’t believe her. Well, he did, but he told himself he didn’t. “Anakin, all that I want is your love.”
He shook his head, “Love won’t save you, Y/N. Only my new powers can do that.”
“At what cost?” She knew Anakin. This wasn’t him. Murdering innocent younglings. “You’re a good person. Please, don’t do this.”
“I won’t lose you the way I lost my mother. I am becoming more powerful than any Jedi has ever dreamed of. And I’m doing it for you. To protect you.”
And that was when she realized what it was all about. He couldn’t save his mother so he was going to save her. No matter the cost.
She moved one of her hands to the back of his head, “Come away with me. Help me raise our child. Leave everything else behind while we still can. Just like we used to talk about.”
“Don’t you see?” He motioned around, “We don’t have to run away anymore. I have brought peace to the Republic. I am more powerful than the Chancellor! I-I can overthrow him!” She carefully began to walk away from him. Scared. “And together, you and I can rule the Galaxy, make things the way we want them to be.”
She shook her head, “No...Ani...you...you’re becoming something else. I didn’t want to believe him. Ani, please, don;t make what Obi Wan said true.”
He swiped his hand, “I don’t want to hear anymore about Obi Wan. The Jedi turned against me. Don’t you turn against me!”
“Anakin, please,” Her voice was breaking, “I can’t hardly recognize you. You’re scaring me.” She tried so hard to hold back the sobs, “I don’t want you to go down a path that will only cause you more pain. I can’t support you doing that.”
“Because of Obi Wan?”
She didn’t understand what Obi Wan had to do with any of this, but she shook her head. “Because you’re going to hurt everyone.” She felt her heartbeat pick up, “Please, just stop this and come back. Come back with me!” She walked closer to him, “I love you!”
He walked past her, “Liar!” She looked over to where she noticed him glaring and gasped as she saw Obi Wan standing there.
He began to walk down to them and she looked back to Anakin, “No.”
She walked backwards as he came towards her, “You’re with him!” He knew why Obi Wan would be here. There was only one reason for him to be. “You brought him here to kill me!”
“No!” His hand lifted and she felt her throat begin to close up and up brought her hands to her neck, as if she was choking.
“Let her go, Anakin.”
Her voice was barely audible as she softly said his name, “Anakin.”
“Let. Her. Go.”
And Anakin did. But not because Obi Wan asked her to. But because he realized that he was hurting Y/N. He watched as she fell. He turned to Obi Wan, “You turned her against me!”
“You have done that yourself.”
He began to pace and then shed himself of his cloak. Sensing that this was going to lead into a fight. “You will not take her from me!”
Obi Wan shed himself of his own cloak, causing Anakin to see he was right. “Your anger and your lust for power have already done that.” And unknown to Anakin, Obi Wan wasn’t speaking or thinking clearly. He was speaking through his own pain and anger. The pain and anger that was both to himself and to Anakin. Obi Wan walked around Anakin, “You have allowed this Dark Lord to twist your mind, until now,” He stopped, unsure if he should say. For maybe if he didn’t he could save him. But Obi Wan knew that he had to. He had to tell Anakin the truth. “Until now you have become the very thing you swore to destroy.”
Anakin began to circle Obi Wan, “Don’t lecture me, Obi Wan. I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the dark side as you do.” Anakin turned away from Obi Wan as he kneeled down to check Y/N's pulse and make sure she was alright. “I have brought peace, freedom, justice, and security to my new Empire.”
Obi Wan stood back up and looked at Anakin in confusion, “Your new Empire?”
“Don’t make kill you.”
Obi Wan tried. He tried so hard to ignore the pain that went through him as he heard those words. “Anakin, my allegiance is to the Republic, to democracy!”
“If you’re not with me,” He started to turn his head, but Anakin realized that if he looked at Obi Wan, he would instantly fold. That he would instantly break. “Then you’re my enemy.”
“Only a Sith deals in absolutes.” Obi Wan unwillingly reached for his saber. He didn’t wish to kill his former Padawan. His friend. His brother. “I will do what I must.” Including trying to convince him to return to the light.
Anakin smirked as he heard the click of Obi Wan removing his saber from its holster. “You will try.” He heard Obi Wan ignite his lightsaber and Anakin reached for his, ignited it and flipped over to Obi Wan.
Their lightsabers clashed against one another. So similar in color, but so different in use. Obi Wan wondered if Anakin had based his own saber after his. Blade-to-blade the men were identical. But in fighting they were the opposite. It was rather unfortunate though. They both knew how the other fought. And just as Anakin had Obi Wan next to a drop, Obi Wan moved and got out. Their lightsabers still hitting each other. Anakin kicked Obi Wan back in order to give himself the upper hand. It didn’t work as well as he had hoped it would, but it did throw Obi Wan off-balance so Anakin was able to get a blow in with him barely able to block it.
Anakin kept pushing Obi Wan backwards and they were heading towards the conference room where the dead bodies of Gunray and Tambor still lay. Just before entering, Obi Wan tried to grab and twist Anakin’s arm to make him release his saber, but he caught on and was quick to stop it. They kept pushing the other, sabers hitting the control panels.
Obi Wan eventually caused Anakin’s saber to fly out of his hand, but unfortunately for Obi Wan, Anakin got close to him and slammed his gloved hand to his throat. His other hand was held tightly on Obi Wan’s wrist, causing him to be unable to move his lightsaber. He pushed his friend down until he was against the table. He wasn’t sure if it was a “fuck you” or an “I’m sorry” that was mouthed from his lips, but it didn’t matter which it was as they both were true to Anakin. But unfortunately for him, Obi Wan still had control of his legs and he used the position he was in to kick Anakin, pushing him back.
And so Anakin, being Anakin, quickly got up and kicked Obi Wan back as well. But he miscalculated and fell as well. Neither had their saber for the moment so it became a physical match. Until Obi Wan had Anakin down, he was quick to pull for his lightsaber, but Anakin was as well. Their lightsabers flew into their hands and as Obi Wan was going to make a blow to Anakin, Anakin lifted his saber up to block it. It was more difficult than normal for him due to the position he was in, but Anakin still succeeded and was able to push Obi Wan back enough to where he could stand.
They kept hitting their lightsabers against each other until Obi Wan brought his hand in order to force push Anakin. But Anakin was doing the same thing. So they both stood there, neither of them able to push hard enough to cause the other to break. Unknown to them, or maybe it was known but neither wanted to admit it, it was because neither of them wanted to hurt the other. Eventually, they both flew back due to the recoil of the Force. Both falling on control panels on opposite sides of the room.
Anakin was quick to get up and he jumped across the table to get to Obi Wan. Their lightsabers clashed and fell onto one of the panels, causing a malfunction and the shields to fall down. They both knew it was bad news, but chose to ignore it. Their lightsabers clashed onto a panel to open the door and as it opened, Obi Wan walked back. They were out in the open hall and both felt the heat from the lava below them. Anakin knew that Obi Wan was slightly distracted for that moment and he used it. He kicked his leg up, hitting Obi Wan’s face. Obi Wa recoiled and Anakin marched towards him.
Anakin pushed Obi Wan again, causing him to have to jump onto a beam. Anakin was quick to jump down too and follow him. Of course, they both were careful as they stood on it for neither wanted to fall down to the lava. They tried to keep their balance as they clashed their lightsabers together. But Obi Wan knew that if they were to misstep, one would fall and then Obi Wan would lose his chance to convince Anakin. However, just as Obi Wan was about to fall, he noticed a walkway to his side. He was quick to jump down, he knew Anakin would follow him so he was ready for the lightsaber to come and blow against his.
They fought against each other, holding the other one. It was like it used to be when they would spar or even play fight. They both tried to pretend that it was that. They both wished it was. That all of this was just them sparring or even play fighting. Just as they used to do. Both wished that all of this was some messed up nightmare that they would soon awake from. Both wished that Obi Wan would be able to convince Anakin to come back to the Light Side.
They got out of the clothes grips and continued to fight each other. But both knew they had to run as fast as they could as lava spewed onto the walkway they were on. They went into the covered hall that the walkway connected to. For a moment, Anakin tried to reach out of Obi Wan, to make sure he was okay. But he didn’t. He fought everything in him to not do it.
After a moment, they both ran back onto the walkway, trying to make it to the other side in order to not be stranded. But they didn't make it and it began to fall. And for a moment, as it fell, Obi Wan reached for Anakin. But he realized Anakin was too far down. He kept his eyes trained on him to make sure he didn’t fall. They both struggled to stay on the, now vertical, walkway. With their lightsabers in one hand, they  used the other to stay up. Anakin slowly began to pull himself up to be closer to Obi Wan. Once close enough, he began to fight him again. Once that happened, Obi Wan fought back and climbed.
He tried to show Anakin that he was slowing down. That he was not wanting to fight Anakin very much anymore. He had felt it. Back when they slowed as the lava coated the walkway. He felt Anakin reaching for him.
Obi Wan looked out and noticed that they were heading for a plummet. He wanted to warn Anakin, but he knew that there would be no time. He saw the wire that was hanging and he used it to move around. He noticed Anakin doing the same and as they passed one another, they clashed their lightsabers against one another again. But this time, Obi Wan saw it. The fear in Anakin’s eyes. It was brief. But it was there.
As he swung to the other side, Obi Wan noticed there were still pieces of metal that the shields still worked on. He let go of the wire and jumped on one. And as he turned, fear struck through his entire body. The walkway was falling and Anakin hadn't jumped down. No. Obi Wan wouldn’t let this happen. He couldn’t. He knew that there was a chance to save Anakin. He stumbled back slightly, until he saw Anakin come flipping over. He landed on a droid not far from Obi Wan.
As Anakin came closer, the more Obi Wan didn’t want to do this. He didn’t want to fight him anymore. Obi Wan refused to make any of the blows and all he did was block them. Once Anakin stopped sending the blows, Obi Wan looked at him. All that he saw was an angry, scared, and confused kid. Something that was exactly who Anakin was.
He knew this was his one chance to talk to him. Convince him to stay. Show him that it would all be okay. Maybe not at that moment. Maybe not within a few weeks. But eventually. “I have failed you Anakin! But not as a Master or as a friend, but as a brother! I promised that I would keep you safe and always be there for you.”
“I should have known that the Jedi were plotting to take over!”
“Anakin, I should have told you! Not that the Jedi were plotting to take our but that we sensed there was a plot to destroy the Jedi! I should have defended you while in those blasted meetings! Told Masters Windu and Yoda that you needed to know! I am sorry! I should have made it clear that I do not care about you and Y/N! That you could have come to me about this! I am sorry for pushing you away! I allowed myself to be blinded by what I thought the Jedi always had to be that caused me to lose you!”
He saw as Anakin faltered, “No! You-you’re lying! You’re messing with me!”
“I’m not! Anakin, please, come back! I cannot lose you as I have lost Satine and Qui Gon. Please Anakin, please don’t make me lose you! Don’t allow Y/N to lose you! We can figure out a way to save her, together!”
“Y/N won’t want me!” He choked out.
“Yes she will, Anakin! She will! We both know she will! She loves you more than anything, you may have to give her time, but she will always come back to you!” He saw as Anakin thought, “Please Anakin. We can take Palpatine down together!”
“I will be arrested for this! I have betrayed the Republic and the Jedi!”
“I will defend you! If they cast you out, I will go with you! I won’t allow you to go through what we forced Ahsoka to go through!” Obi Wan knew that if it wasn’t for the lava, tears would be pricking his eyes. “Please Anakin, just trust me one last time. Please brother.”
Anakin jumped over and landed on the same thing Obi Wan was on. His lightsaber was no longer ignited. His head was hung low. Obi Wan carefully took the saber out of his hand and was quick as he wrapped his arms around him. He listened as he heard Anakin’s sobs. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry Obi Wan. I was weak. I-I failed you.”
“No Anakin, you didn’t. I’m the one who failed. I didn’t show you what you needed. It’s my fault.” He pulled away, “We need to go. I sense something is not right.” He held on to Anakin as he jumped across the lava river and ran to where Y/N had been.
When they got there, R2 was beeping frantically. DB was walking down to them, “Kenobi, Skywalker, we have Y/N on board. Please hurry.” They walked onto the platform and Anakin tried to ignore the fact that he saw DB’s hand going into a fist. “We should leave soon, we need to get Y/N somewhere safe.”
Obi Wan patted DB’s shoulder and Anakin was silent as he walked past the droid. Since Obi Wan was the first in, he was the first to Y/N, he placed a hand on her shoulder and Anakin stood behind him. He was scared of what her reaction would be if she saw him. “Obi Wan?” Her voice was soft as if she was barely there, “Is Anakin alright?”
Obi Wan looked back at Anakin who stood there frozen. He was scared to walk closer to her. Scared to touch her. But when Obi Wan gave him a reassuring nod, Anakin did. The two swapped places and Anakin took Y/N's hand. She had already lost consciousness again so she just stirred. He carefully leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. He ignored the small jolt as they made the jump to Hyperspace as he stood next to her. She looked so...peaceful. He wondered if she was dreaming. If she was, what was she dreaming of? He moved a piece of hair from her face, he hoped that when she fully woke up, she would forgive him for what he had done. That she would understand that he did it all for her. All of this...pain and suffering that he has caused in the past few hours was only to save her.
He hadn’t noticed them coming out of Hyperspace so he was surprised when Obi Wan came back to them. “Anakin? We’re landing on Polis Massa. There’s medical droids here that can tend to her. Senators Organa and Amidala are here. As well as Master Yoda.” Anakin’s head snapped to Obi Wan when he heard the last person. “Master Yoda knows that you mean no harm. I have no idea what he is going to say, but just know that I will defend you no matter what he says.”
Anakin nodded, “I just have one request. Can I be the one to carry her down? Please. I-I need to do this. I can’t explain why.” He assumed it was to prove that he meant no harm. That he just wanted to save her.
Obi Wan nodded and as they heard the hiss of the door opening, Anakin carefully lifted Y/N into his arms and carried her off the ship. Bail and Padmé were running over to them. Bail placed a soft hand on Anakin’s shoulder, “We’ll take her to the medical center. Quickly.” Anakin moved as fast as he was able to without jostling her.
Once there, they were quick to change her into a thin white gown and place her onto a table so the medical droids could take care of her. Anakin stood next to Bail, Padmé, and Obi Wan with Yoda standing in front of them. Usually to ease the tension at a time like this, Anakin would crack a joke about Yoda’s height, even if it was just to Padmé and Obi Wan, but he just couldn’t. Not this time.
One of the droids slowly flew out to them, “She’s perfectly healthy for the most part. But to keep her and the babies alive, we need to cause her to go into labor as it could be the only way for her to survive.” Babies? But Anakin thought that there was only one. Did she know this and just not tell him? But the other thing was, he hadn’t really heard of ‘forcing her to go into labor’ before. Was it even safe? Could it kill her?
And it seemed as if Obi Wan was reading his mind as his question imitated the ones in Anakin’s mind. “Is it dangerous?”
“Not at all. It is very common for women to have to go through it as it can increase the chances of survival for both the mother and child, or in this case, children. The only downside is that we do not have anything for her to ease the pain.”
Anakin sighed, “It’s fine. Just do what you have to do in order to guarantee survival.”
The droid gave a nod of acknowledgement and went back in. Anakin stayed outside, scared to go in. It was a few moments of silence until Y/N let out a cry of pain. But Anakin stayed put, still unsure if she wanted him there. That was until he heard her call out his name. That was when he was quick to run to her side. He placed a gentle hand above her head and a comforting hand on her shoulder.
“It’s okay, I’m here.” He whispered to her.
She kept letting out cries of pain until eventually, those cries of pain were drowned out by the cries of a baby. When those cries came, her own turned to sobs as the tears fell from her eyes. The medical droid carried the baby over to them and mentioned that it was a boy. Y/N sighed and her voice was soft and weak, but he still was able to make out what she said. “Luke.” It was what they had planned to name the child if it was a boy. He hoped the other was a girl so that they wouldn’t have to come up with a name on the spot. He turned his attention to the droid and was careful as they placed the small child into his arms. Anakin wasn’t sure what to do so he carefully moved to show Luke to Y/N. She weakly lifted an arm and caressed Luke’s cheek. “Oh Luke.” He heard her murmur and he could tell she was going to say something but she began to cry in pain again. He hated this for he could do nothing to ease her pain. But just as before, her cries fell into small sobs. This time the droid said it was a girl. Her voice, still soft as a quiet, “Leia.” Fell from her lips.
Anakin carefully handed Luke to Y/N as he saw her reaching for him. Once Luke was securely in Y/N's arms, he took Leia into his. It was a peaceful moment. He was unsure of how to feel. He was happy for here he was, holding one of his children while Y/N laid by him holding his other child. She was okay. She was breathing. She was alive. For once, his nightmare didn’t come true. And he couldn’t have been more grateful. But on the other hand, he was scared. Scared for what he had just done. What everyone would think of him because of it. He turned and looked over at the others.
And it seemed as if Padmé could read his mind as she walked over to him and carefully took Leia out of his arms. He was quiet as he walked out of the room. Even as he walked out of the facility. He walked quickly as he went out and back to Y/N's ship. He knew Obi Wan was following him and he didn’t care. He silently sat down at one of the chairs and held his head in his hands. He was cold and scared. He was reminded of how cold it was in space. That you only feel warmth when with the ones you love. And then that cold caused him to be scared as it caused him to think about what was happening around him. Obi Wan silently sat across from him. Neither said a word as they sat there. Both of them sat there with their heads down. At some point Anakin lifted his some, only enough to be looking at Obi Wan and Obi Wan moved to have his attention fully at Anakin.
But when Obi Wan looked at the person in front of him, he didn’t see the grown and scared 22 year old. No. He saw the scared and cold 9 year old boy from Tatooine. He didn’t see the person who Anakin had become these past 13 years or even 13 hours. He saw the boy Anakin was when they met. The scared and unsure boy who left everything he had known. And that was what fully showed him that hope wasn’t lost. That he didn’t make the wrong choice. That Anakin was still Anakin.
So he made the first move and spoke. “Anakin, is everything alright?”
Anakin shook his head and whispered out a hoarse, “No.”
“Do you wish to talk about it?”
He shook his head again. “Not yet. Please. I just...I want to believe that all of this is real. That if I walk back into that building, Y/N will still be there. Waiting for me. That this all isn’t some dream and she isn’t actually okay.”
Obi Wan placed a comforting hand on Anakin’s knee, “I promise you that the moment you walk back into there, she will still be there. Waiting for you. If anything, she’s probably worried about you as you practically ran off. And we both know that if she had the strength, she would have followed us out here and she would be holding you tightly in her arms and telling you how much she loves you.” Anakin let out a small laugh. He knew that Obi Wan was right. He knew that he really had nothing to fear. But he still did. He still feared that something was going to happen to her. Obi Wan moved to sit next to Anakin, “Things may not become perfect straight away, but they will, eventually. Through time and patience. And I know that she will be with you, every step of the way.”
And Obi Wan was right. She was with him every step of the way. Even though the times when the darkness came back and he nearly fell. Through the nights where he could hardly sleep because of nightmares. Through the ups and downs of parenthood. Through everything. Because there was one thing Y/N would never allow Anakin to do. And that was to go through anything alone. And she meant it. It was one promise that she never intended to break. And she never did.

381. “You weren’t supposed to hear that.” with codywan, or anakin and obiwan (platonically) if you’re still doing these.
390 Prompts!!!!
I attempted to write Sad Things, feat. my headcanon that Plo taught Tholme.
----------
“--a padawan I wasn’t even ready for!”
Anakin freezes, holds his breath, doesn’t even blink. He waits, and hears a rough sob, paired with low and soothing words in a voice he thinks he recognizes. He doesn’t think either of them heard the door. He steps fully in and keeps his steps silent. He closes the door with that soft whisper it always has, and wonders if they heard it this time.
“You love the kid, Obi-Wan.”
“Loving him doesn’t make it easy, Quin,” Obi-Wan says, voice rough and broken in a way that makes Anakin’s gut curdle. “I wasn’t... I‘m not... he should have been my brother, not my student. He should have been Qui-Gon’s to raise, or... I haven’t had time to be my own person yet, let alone teach someone else.”
“If it’s any help, I felt that way with Aayla, and I actually had a few years to work solo before I started teaching her.” There’s a shuffling noise. “I think you need to visit a therapist, or at least a grief counselor--”
“They’ll take Anakin away. I can’t--I can’t let anyone know I’m struggling this much, Quinlan, they’ll take him, and I don’t know--”
Anakin feels tears pricking at his eyes.
“If they find they need to remove him from your care, they will figure out where to place him and who to put in charge of him before they do it,” Knight Vos says. Anakin thinks he sounds like this is a sentence he’s said a million times. “Hell, if it turns out he doesn’t want to be a Jedi after all, there’s a process to sponsor him getting, I dunno, an engineering degree? At Coruscant U.? Kid’s good with droids and basically a tiny genius, he’d--”
“I don’t want them to take him,” Obi-Wan interrupts. Anakin creeps closer. “I want to keep Anakin, I want to be his family, I just--”
“You just wish you weren’t the only person he has?”
Obi-Wan makes a pained noise. “The entire lineage is in tatters, Quin. My master’s dead, my grandmaster’s gone, I’ve barely met Feemor, Komari went insane and then died, Xanatos did the same, I don’t--I don’t even know what’s going on with Rael, he’s refused to speak with any of us since Nim died, and now it’s just me and a child with more trauma than I know how to help with, and a blasted old frog who’s forgotten how to deal with any sentient under the age of five centuries and--”
“Breathe, Obi.”
“I don’t know what to do,” Obi-Wan sobs. “Quinlan, I have no idea what I’m doing and I don’t know who to turn to. There aren’t any more masters, no more adults, that I can call up and talk to for advice, not if I want it to be helpful. I’m the adult. I’m the master. I’m the only person that boy has and I’m not enough!”
Anakin gives up on staying still and silent and runs into the room, throwing himself into Obi-Wan’s middle and hugging as hard as he can. He and Knight Vos are on the couch, so Anakin ends up with a knee in his abdomen, clinging and teary and trying to push as much I care about you and you mean a lot to me and you’re enough into the hug while he can.
“Shit,” Knight Vos whispers. “Kid--”
“You’re enough, Master,” Anakin says, squeezing as tight as he can. Maybe if he hugs harder, Obi-Wan will understand.
“You weren’t supposed to hear that,” Obi-Wan breathes. Anakin hears the clinking of a teacup being set on the table, carried on a faint wave of the Force. His hands rest lightly, carefully, hesitantly on Anakin’s back. They’re warm, even through the layers of linen and synthcotton. “Anakin, you--how long were you listening?”
Anakin shrugs. He hugs harder.
“I’m going to get some more tea,” Knight Vos says quietly.
The couch shifts as Knight Vos stands, and there’s a moment where Anakin can’t hear anything but his own breathing, can’t feel anything but Obi-Wan’s rough outer robe against his cheek and the hands on his back. A moment, and then Obi-Wan moves his hands, pulls Anakin fully into his lap and lets skinny arms come up around his neck. Anakin feels safe, when Obi-Wan hugs him fully, and he tries to push that feeling into the Force so Obi-Wan can feel it to.
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan sighs. “This is--no, dear one, this is a me problem. It’s not for you to fix.”
“But I’m the problem,” Anakin says, and feels Obi-Wan’s arms stiffen around him. “And I don’t want to be a pro--”
“You are not a problem,” Obi-Wan says, rough and a little vicious. He pulls Anakin closer, cups a hand around Anakin’s skull and presses him against his collarbone and neck. “You are a child. The problem is the system that wasn’t set up to support you.”
“But you’re upset.”
“I’m upset for many reasons, but none of it is your fault,” Obi-Wan insists. His hand cards through Anakin’s hair. It feels nice. “I’m... a lot of it is because Master Qui-Gon died, Anakin, and that’s still very recent for me. I’m sad, and sometimes I’m too sad to do the work I need to do. Sometimes I’m too sad to get up and take care of you, and that’s a problem, because you just turned ten, and you need an adult.”
“...those are the days when Knight Vos comes and you ask Aayla to help me with my homework?” Anakin asks. “Or when you tell me to go help Knight Eerin with droid maintenance in the healing halls?”
“Yes,” Obi-Wan says, voice heavy. “And I’m sorry you have to deal with those days. I should be more present for you. It’s my duty as your Jedi master, and--”
“And he cares about you a lot and it upsets him that you’ll know and worry now,” Knight Vos interrupts. Obi-Wan finally lets Anakin sit up straight, but doesn’t make him get off and stop cuddling. Knight Vos gestures for each of them to take some tea. Anakin’s has blue honey in it. He says thank you.
Everything’s quiet for a bit, and the Knight Vos says, “I’m going to talk to Master Plo.”
“Who?” Anakin asks, even as Obi-Wan protests, far louder.
“Master Plo Koon,” Knight Vos says, holding up a hand to stall Obi-Wan’s protests, “Is my grandmaster. He taught Master Tholme, though you wouldn’t know it if you met them, with how grumpy my Master is. But Master Plo  loves kids and has plenty of experience dealing with young Knights who aren’t ready for things, and he’s sympathetic to these things.”
“He’s on the Council,” Obi-Wan hisses.
“You need help, Obi,” Knight Vos says, unyielding as duracrete. “And he’ll know how.”
“Quin--”
“I think you should do it,” Anakin mutters.
“...Excuse me?”
“You’re sad,” Anakin says, not looking up from his tea. “And you said it makes you more upset that you can’t take care of me when you’re sad, so you’re already sad and then you make yourself more sad. And I don’t like it when you’re sad, so if Master Koon can help, and he’s going to be nice about it, then I think you should talk to him.”
“You heard the kid,” Knight Vos says, and Anakin can hear the grin. Still, this guy is Obi-Wan’s friend and gets all soft and nice when he keeps talking. “It’s okay to need help, Obi, and Master Plo will be happy to talk to you and figure out a way to take care of yourself and Anakin without risking custody.”
“Please, Master?” Anakin asks, wriggling around to look Obi-Wan in the face. He looks so tired. “I don’t want you to be more sad than you already are. I can’t help about Master Qui-Gon, but if--”
“Okay,” Obi-Wan cuts him off. He closes his eyes, squeezing them shut like that’ll help him feel better, and shakes his head a little. “Fine, I’ll talk to Master Koon.”
Anakin lodges himself back into his prior position, head tucked in between Obi-Wan’s jaw and shoulder, and feels his Master sigh as he rubs Anakin’s arm. “Thank you, Master Obi-Wan.”
Obi-Wan just sighs again. He doesn’t make Anakin stop cuddling, though.

Well if we are going full reasonable Anakin let’s say he doesn’t even try to get close to him after the whole confessing thing. He will accept that his master may have realized that he doesn’t need Anakin the way Anakin needs him (after all he’s the one who told him not to think about him that way) and Force be damned it hurt. So now there is distance, a lot of longing on both parts and after a while it becomes a Temple problem because The Team is falling apart and both radiate sadness and act as if they are stranger to the point of Mace actually considers playing matchmaker « these two stare so much at the other it gives me diabetes ». In the end it’s Rex who corners Anakin with « What happened to you and General Kenobi ? No in fact that’s not my problem, you were both supposed to go with Ahsoka at the Spacewhale exposition and both of you cancelled so that you wouldn’t see the other. You are making Ahsoka sad General😠 ». It’s a collective stratagem that gets them in the same room and before Obi-Wan can leave because he won’t be able to take another rejection, Anakin gently takes both of Obi-Wan’s hands and softly says « I love you, I’m in love with you and you would know if you had let me finish last time, which was very rude Master by the way, how could you think I could do anything but love you? ». And they finally talk.
After that is just a matter of everyone exchanging credits (they were a lots of bets) « Master Tii ! You knew? », « Please, everyone knew for sure the day Skywalker started harrasing us for the mission reports where he wasn’t with you and yelled at us for not making you go to the infirmary ‘you are not taking care of Obi-Wan this is outrageous !’ were his exact words I think and you were a lost case the second he gave you a hug all these years ago and for the first time in weeks after your master’s death your force presence was light and bright ».
(@tomicaleto here's your happy ending!)
wait wait, I want more angst before a sweet ending, with Anakin saying things he doesn't realise are making Obi-Wan feel like he's being stabbed repeatedly, like they're both being assigned a new mission and Anakin says "yeah, I don't think we should do things together now" because he's trying! he wants to do the right thing and make it easier for Obi-Wan to distance himself!
and Obi-Wan stands very still and silent next to him and doesn't look at him so Anakin adds "it would be best if we're treated as two different people now and not as a team" and if you listen carefully you can hear Obi-Wan's heart being crushed in approximately millions of pieces, which is made even worse when Obi-Wan goes back to their shared quarters which are apparently only Obi-Wan's quarters now because Anakin moved all his stuff somewhere else when Obi-Wan was away.
Ahsoka finds him face down on the couch two hours later and he asks her "am I the most pathetic person you've ever met Ahsoka" and Ahsoka who has never seen Obi-Wan showing any signs of strong emotions before promptly says 'oh boy' and flees.
But once they reconcile, can you imagine how sickening they're going to be. How disgustingly in love. How Anakin will never be found more than a meter away from Obi-Wan and Mace will be like "as I was saying, this is truly a vital operation for us and... I'm sorry, Skywalker, could you please be a little more... formal? This is an important discussion" and Anakin, head on Obi-Wan's shoulder and hand on Obi-Wan's arm and playing footsie with Obi-Wan is like "hmmmmmmm. no"

Anakin Skywalker x Reader ~ Can I Kiss You? (Pt 1)
Prompts: “Have you ever kissed anyone before?” + “Can I kiss you?”
Warnings: A little language, Anakin is a bit of a little shit (affectionately), Reader is kinda shy, both of them are idiots but we love that for them <3
Words: 1.6k
A/N: I assume you wanted this with Ani because he’s basically the only person I’ve been writing for lately but, if not, I’m sorry!! Thank you for sending something in! Also this was so fucking fun to write, I loved it so much. I got carried away a little, my brain kinda ran with it so yeah! Also, this is kinda tooth rotting fluff, even for me, so be prepared.
Part 2 (there is now a sequel!)
Tumblr media
(gif not mine)
You and Anakin were partnered together for a mission. It was fairly simple, nothing battle related -- purely diplomatic. Honestly, you weren’t sure why you two were even sent on it; it felt like somewhat of a waste for two Padawans to go on a random mission to Naboo. Even so, if it allowed you to spend more time with Anakin, you didn’t mind.
You had this raging crush on him from the moment you saw him. He was gorgeous and confident without being off-puttingly cocky. He was tall, his hair was soft, his eyes were piercing, and his smile and laugh were contagious.
Then, as the two of you grew closer, this crush developed into something deeper. You learned of his heart, his kindness, his selflessness, his desires, his needs, his fears. You were able to see the boy behind the prophecy and you truly, unequivocally, loved him.
“Come on, Y/N, hurry up!” Anakin’s joking tone broke you from your thoughts. You smiled back and ran up to him, playfully hitting his back as you caught up. He took your hand and the two of you continued walking, side by side.
These displays of affection weren’t uncommon between the two of you. Early on, you saw how he enjoyed your touch, always leaning into it when you’d accidentally brush against him or give him a quick hug after a mission. He, too, saw how you reacted when he put his arm around your shoulders or brushed your hair behind your ear.
Since the rest of the Jedi frowned upon connections and, thus, weren’t as forthcoming with affection, the two of you were quickly bonded. You were so attuned with each other that you now just knew when the person was searching for that physical connection. It had become natural, the sort of expected comfort that becomes impossible to live without.
The two of you walked through the gardens by the palace in Naboo, enjoying the sun’s warmth. You’d already talked to the government officials you needed to, attempting to figure out which other planets to get involved in the peace treaties. Thankfully, it went quickly and now you had the rest of the day to spend with Ani before returning home to Coruscant.
He led you to a secluded bench and plopped down, pulling you beside him. He pulled an apple from a tree and offered it to you. You thanked him and accepted it, allowing the crunchy texture and sweet flavor into your mouth. He watched you, grinning at your excitement.
“Okay, I’ve got a question for you,” Anakin said.
Okay. This has got to be good. “Shoot, Skywalker.”
“Who was your first?”
You choked on your apple, sputtering at his audacity! Anakin howled at your reaction, coming up behind you to thump your back a few times until you stopped choking.
“Dumbass!” You yelled, causing Anakin to keel over in another fit of laughs.
“You’re going to alert the entire palace!” He hushed you, gasping in breaths between his laughs.
You rolled your eyes, elbowing him in the gut. “Hey! Okay, okay, okay,” He said, holding up his hands in mock surrender before taking a pause. “But, seriously! Who was your first?”
“Anakin! That’s- I- Anakin!” You were so taken aback you couldn’t even form words. You were so caught off guard and, also, quite perplexed. “Ani, we’re not allowed to do, you know, that”
Anakin’s lips curled into a playful smirk at your response. “Maker, Y/N, I know! I meant, like, kissing… Who was your first kiss?”
Your face heated up quickly. You were hoping he’d drop it but apparently not. You didn’t want to admit that you hadn’t exactly had the chance to do that yet. You fiddled with your hands and looked away, embarrassed.
“Wait, have you ever kissed anyone before?”
“No…” You mumbled underneath your breath, still refusing to meet his eyeline.
Now, Anakin’s gaze softened. He never meant to make you feel uncomfortable or judged, he truly thought you had. I mean, look at you! Someone had to have wanted to kiss you before! His hand gently came up to tilt your chin up, forcing you to look at him.
His gaze saddened when it met yours, seeing how affected you were by his questions “It’s okay, Y/N! You don’t need to feel ashamed, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to put you on the spot.”
“I mean, it’s not like I haven’t had options. I totally could have been kissed by now if I wanted to!” You huffed indignantly, crossing your arms.
Anakin laughed, glad to see some of your fight returning to you. He knew that if you were being defensive and stubborn, you couldn’t be that mad at him. He looked at you for a minute, wondering. He’d been in love with you for as long as he could remember but refused to act on it; he knew how much being a Jedi meant to you and wouldn’t do anything to jeopardize that. Even so, he so badly wanted to come home to you each night, to hold you, to be the one you could turn to with any and everything, to be the person you loved and who loved you, always.
He thought about it for a moment more and decided he might as well try. “Can I kiss you?”
Your eyes widened and you gaped at his question. “You- you want to kiss me?”
He scratched the back of his head awkwardly, mentally wondering if this was a good or bad sign. “I, uh, I mean, yeah… You’re really kind and intelligent and, um, super nice to look at… And since you haven’t been I just thought you might wanna…”
“I think you’re super nice to look at too, Ani,” You teased. You were blushing at his words and practically pinching yourself. You’d wanted to hear them for so long, it almost didn’t feel real.
He allowed himself to slightly smile, hope creeping into his expression. “Is that a yes?”
You laughed, smiling too. You nodded, looking into his trusting eyes.
“If you wanna stop, just let me know, okay?” He said, sensing your nerves.
“Okay, Ani”
His fingers grazed over your jaw before guiding it towards him, tilting it slightly. Your eyes closed in anticipation, butterflies ready to burst out of your stomach at any moment. His mouth touched yours and your brain went completely fuzzy. Maker, Kriff, Fuck, Maker!! Is this really happening?
The kiss was so gentle, so sweet. It was just his lips against yours, nothing more. He didn’t want to frighten you by shoving his tongue down your throat on your first try. He just wanted to make you feel wanted and safe.
He pulled apart after a moment and looked at you. “Was that okay?” He laughed as your eyes lit up and you nodded excitedly.
“Can we do that again?” After feeling his lips and being so close to him, you never wanted that sensation to go away.
“Of course, love” Anakin said quietly, pulling you into him once more.
This time, he was a bit more intense, lips moving against yours slowly. You felt yourself get lost in him, in his taste and smell. You went on instinct, allowing your hands to weave into his hair. He hummed as you did so, hands finding their way to your waist and pulling you slightly closer.
He was still extremely careful. As much as he wanted to pour all his passion into this kiss, this moment was about you, not him. He led the kiss, not wanting you to feel like a fish out of water, and smiled into your lips. When you smiled back, Anakin swore his entire body warmed. He was so glad you agreed to do this with him, to allow him to be the person to share this moment with.
When you pulled away, he rested his forehead against yours and cupped your cheeks. You looked at him shyly and he brushed his thumbs against your cheekbones.
“You were really good at that, are you sure you’ve never done that before?” He joked.
You pushed his shoulder back bashfully. “Shut up, Ani!”
“I’m serious,” He laughed, “You were really good!”
“Really?”
“Yeah, baby. You’re amazing.”
You looked at him for a beat. “So,” You said, dragging out the word, “What do we do now?”
“Well, the ship leaves for Coruscant in thirty minutes so…”
“Anakin Skywalker, you know what I mean!”
He chuckled. “Okay, fine! I mean, if you want, of course, we could be together?”
“Like, together together?”
“Only if you want!”
“Do you want?”
Anakin nodded.
“I, uh, I’d really like that, too, Ani”
He broke out into this big goofy grin and you followed suit. That damn, contagious smile. You knew there would be a million complications. The chances of it working out were practically unfathomable. The Council would kill you both if they found out, you’d never make rank! But you looked into his eyes and thought you could beat the odds.
Young love had a way of making you feel invincible. He was all you ever wanted. It was as if nothing could ever affect you if you were together. The Council wouldn’t find out, you’d be that one in a million couple, you’d grow old together and be happy and peaceful. It was the most unsure thing you’d ever done and, yet, nothing felt more certain.
As this realization swarmed round your head, you dove back in, connecting your lips once more. The garden around you faded and the weight of this new secret-relationship disappeared. It was just you and Anakin. Nothing would ever tear you apart.
