Since it's Summer, I would love to see Eddie and the reader go to the beach together with lots of cuteness and fluff. I could see Eddie picking the reader up over his shoulder and running towards the water with her.
Hi! I was just thinking up some beach Eddie ideas the other day! Thank you for the request! We got a little bit of enemies-ish to lovers (Eddie just annoys Reader sometimes but she really does like him) I really want to go to the beach now.
Warnings: Eddie picks up Reader, Reader slaps Eddie butt, Idiots in love and everyone knows it but them, Mention of them eventually sharing a bed/room due to a "mix up" (doesn't happen in this just mentioned) 18+ only

Waves
“Stay still, Munson,” you say, holding up a yellow bottle of sunscreen.
“No,” he chirped before taking off towards the large body of water like a man dying of thirst.
You groaned. You should’ve known this was going to be a fight. Normally, you wouldn’t care but due to an unforeseen mix up, you and Eddie would be sharing a room together for the week long beach trip. You knew if you didn’t force the sunscreen on his body then he’d be complaining all night, something he was notoriously known for after days spent in Steve’s pool. You’d think by now he’d have a tan built up.
 It definitely didn’t help your frustration that you two would be sharing a bed together too. It suddenly felt like your vacation was turning into a job of babysitting Eddie Munson.
Steve shot Robin a knowing look behind your back as you stared at him running off with an annoyed look on your face. You two were so obvious that it was painful for the group to watch sometimes. They all had bets on if you two would admit your feelings for eachother by the end of the trip.
“Eddie!” You yell, sprinting towards him with the bottle of sunscreen clutched in your hand like a weapon. Eddies not too far in front of you. Even his long legs weren’t immune to being slowed down by the sand. He kicks his feet  up behind him with each step, sending sand flying into your face.  “He did that on purpose,” you complain as you rub your eyes.
“Shit. You good?” You knew it was him, not only by the sound of his voice but by the calloused hand now clutching your arm to keep you steady in the sand.
“Put the damn sunscreen on before I squirt it in your eye,” you demand, holding it out blindly.
“Fine,” he complains in a joking voice that told you he was planning on putting on sunscreen anyway and was just giving you a hard time.
You finally cleared the sand from your eyes and opened them in time to see him squirt a big pile of the lotion into his hand and then slap it on his chest and arms, rubbing it in until it was a thick white paste covering his arms and chest.
You stared at him wide mouthed. “Have you ever put on sunscreen before because I don’t think that’s how you do it?”
“If I put on enough then there’s no way the sun will be able to get through all the layers of lotion,” Eddie said with a cheesy smile.
You rolled your eyes, motioning for him to turn around.
“What?” He asked.
“I’m gonna get your back,” you clarified, motioning with your finger for him to turn.
He shot you a cocky smile, exposing his pale back to you. From here, you could see all the freckles on his skin. They looked like they made up little constellations on his skin. He had a golden birthmark on his ribs. You decided if the freckles on his back were the stars then the birthmark was the sun. You found yourself running your finger over it, making him shiver.
You cleared your throat, snapping out of whatever trance you were in and taking a step back. “All done.”
“Thanks,” Eddie said, voice softer than before.
You both looked around awkwardly before you walked away from him, heading back towards the group. Maybe for now he would go run off with Robin or Steve to leave you to read your book in peace.
When you got closer to where the chairs and umbrellas were set up, Steve was shaking his head at something behind you. You paused, feet digging into the sand before turning around to see Eddie barrelling full speed at you.
You didn’t have time to yell or run before you were being slung over his shoulder. Your legs and feet were on his front while your face hung down his back. You smacked his butt hard with your hand. It didn’t stop him though, it just spurred him on. You swore he kicked his feet into four wheel drive or something by how fast he was moving across the sand.
“Put me down!” You yelled but your voice was drowned out by the roaring water.
He slowed down when he reached the edge of the ocean, wading past the breaking waves and readjusting you higher on his shoulder to make sure your face didn’t get wet. At least he had the decency to do that.
Eddie waited until a wave passed by to set you down. You wobbled some as the world tilted right side up.
“Why the hell did you do that?”
“You needed to cool down. You were looking a little hot,” Eddie joked with a wide smile and a wink.
You rolled your eyes, deciding that the sand was hot and it wouldn’t hurt to cool off before laying out on a towel. You moved past him, maneuvering the waves and moving deeper into the water. You heard him follow behind you, right on your trail.
When you got deep enough to where the water was calm you relaxed, leaning your head back into the water and letting the ocean relax you. You glanced over at Eddie just to not see him anymore. You popped your head up, spinning around frantically until you saw his head break from the water. He wiped his eyes and immediately shook his head, splashing water in your face.
You sputtered, “Really?”
“What?” He asked, looking at you with innocent eyes.
“You just splashed water in my face.”
Eddie looked around and turned back at you. “Well, yeah. We’re in the ocean.”
You sighed. “Why are you even out here with me? Why don’t you swim somewhere else or go build a sandcastle or something.”
“Oh, trust me. I will be building a badass sandcastle later. I just didn’t want to leave you out here alone,” he told you.
You shot him a confused look. “Why not?”
“Because there’s like sharks and riptides and stuff out here,” he explained slowly.
“Oh,” you muttered, feeling bad that you had been so mean to him when he just wanted to protect you.  You watched Eddie then as he floated in place, staring at the shore line with his thoughts far away. His long, dark hair was plastered against his shoulders. You wished you could play with it. His eyelashes looked impossibly darker and longer with the water drops hanging off them. He was pretty when he wasn’t being annoying. The thought filled you with envy and another feeling you couldn’t name.
“Why don’t you like me?” Eddie asked suddenly, vulnerability lacing his voice.
“Hm?” You hummed, pretending to not hear him.
“You don’t like me. Why?” He clarified.
“I like you,” you said, wishing you could find a rock to hide under, or maybe a big wave to come by and whisk you away towards the shore.
“Doesn’t seem like it,” he muttered.
“I do. You think if I didn’t like you I wouldn’t have fought so hard to make sure you wouldn’t get sunburnt?” You asked him with a raised brow.
“Thought that was just because you didn’t want me to complain all night,” he said with a smirk. You had come to realize that there weren’t many times when Eddie wasn’t smiling at you or trying to make you laugh.
“I definitely don’t want to listen to you complain. But I also didn’t want you to be in pain because the sun here is different than it is in Hawkins, Eds.”
“So you not only like me but you care about me,” Eddie teased but then his face went serious, like your answering meant more to him than he was letting on.
“I would say that you care about me too since you wanted to be out here to protect me from sharks,” you said, answering his question in a roundabout way.
“So we care about each other,” Eddie said in a clarifying way, like he was leaving you room to deny it if you wanted to.
But you didn’t deny it.
“I guess we do,” you told him, admiring the way the sun glistened off the water drops on his skin. The sun hit Eddie in a way that made you think it was his own personal spotlight. Like he was made to be the star in all venues across earth.
You and Eddie had floated closer together during your chat. You only realized it when you felt his hand brush against your arm tenderly.
Eddie leaned in, bringing his face to yours before he jumped back with a yelp.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, self conscious that he had pulled away.
“Something just touched my foot,” he said loudly, searching the water around him like he could find the culprit.
“Come on, Eddie,” you said, grabbing his hand to pull him with you towards the shore. “Let’s go build that sandcastle.”
“Good,” Eddie said with a sigh of relief. “I don’t even like the ocean.”

Wasp Problem
It was a normal day for the losers club. Which meant they had already found shelter from the harsh, summer sun. Eddie had insisted that they all wear sunscreen when he showed up to the quarry that morning but only Stanley and Ben complied. The other four members' complaints were heard as they entered the shade of the clubhouse.
“Everything hurts,” Beverly cried as she laid her head on Ben’s lap. The latter of course felt bad but couldn’t help but laugh as he stroked his hand through Beverly’s tangled hair.
“You can s-say t-t-that again.” Bill agreed, sitting in the beanbag chair next to the swing where Mike’s burns were being treated by Stan.
“I didn’t think I could burn.” Mike whispered as the cool gel of Aloe Vera was gently rubbed on his face.
“Of course you’re going to burn, you have skin.” Eddie yelled from the other side of the clubhouse, where he was trying to put aloe on Richie.
“I said I don’t need that stuff.” Richie interjected, pushing Eddie’s hands away. “That stuff is basically the equivalent of cum!” He yelled as Eddie tackled him to the ground. Richie grunted as he and Eddie hit the ground, Eddie having the upper hand.
“BEEP BEEP.” Eddie shrieked as he finally got some of the aloe on Richie’s face, rubbing it all over.
“Eds you’re getting it in my mouth.” Richie spat, turning over and spitting out the aloe that got in this mouth.
“Not my name! And that’s what you get for not wearing sunscreen in the first place.” Eddie grumbled, squeezing more aloe into his hands and rubbing it over Richie’s exposed arms.
“Karma,” Stanley called from across the room where he was now putting aloe on Bill’s face.
“It’s not karma, Stanley! it’s SpagEddies too much gene- OW! ” Richie called back but was pinched in the arm by Eddie who was still applying aloe.
“Not my name, asshole.” Eddie said, trying to hide a smile. Eddie made Richie sit up, so he could get the back of the boy's neck which was starting to peel. Eddie gagged at the state of Richie's neck “Gross Richie!!! this is going to get infected!!” Eddie unzipped his Fanny pack and started looking for the cortisone cream when Ben let out a yelp from where he was sitting. Everyone turned to look at the boy, Bev sitting up to give him some space.
“Are you ok, Ben?” She asked, looking at the boy with worry.
“Something just stung me,” he grimaced, holding his arm and looking around for the source. He spotted a little nest in the corner and frowned. “Dang it, there’s a wasp nest in here.”
Richie froze up at the word, fuck, he thought as he look at Stanley. Stanley was already staring at him, giving him a knowing but annoyed look. Stanley was the only person who knew about Richie’s allergy to the little devils. Richie didn’t want anyone to know about it because he thought it was a stupid thing to be allergic to but sadly Stanley was his longest friend and had seen what happens when he gets stung. The boy even carries around his epipen for Richie, since he couldn’t be bothered. His thoughts quickly disappeared as Bill let out a yelp.
“OW! It-t s-stung me!!” Bill stuttered, rubbing his shoulder.
The clubhouse erupted into a panic as they looked around, trying to find the little fucker. Richie heard a buzz right next to his ear and screamed, shooting up and running and basically tackling Stanley to the ground. The others watched as Richie and Stanley fought, Stanley trying to get Richie off of him and Richie holding on to Stanley's neck for dear life.
“Richie get OFF OF ME!”
“Stan, it's going to kill me!!!”
“It’s not going to kill you idiot.”
“IT WILL!” Richie screamed as he heard another buzz and decided to get the fuck out of the small space. He threw himself up the ladder and out the clubhouse.
The other losers sat in silence as Mike got up from the swing. He grabbed a cup that someone left near the swing and carefully caught the wasp, trapping it with the lid. Mike walked over to the hatch, climbed up a couple of steps and placed the cup with the wasp outside. He closed the hatch just in case and turned to face the others. Bill was the first one to break the silence.
“W-what the fuck was that??”
Special thanks to @reluctant-fandom-participant for the idea/head cannon!!!!

“But it’s a Tuesday,” you tell Jay while zipping up your backpack.
“So?” he says. “Don’t be lame.”
“I’m not lame, just responsible.” you sing your bag over your shoulder.
“Yeah, that’s lame.” he walks with you to the lunch tables. Jungwon and Heeseung are already there chatting it up.
“You guys are coming right?” Jay asks them and they nod. “See? You gotta come.”
“It’ll be fun noona,” Jungwon says. “And you have to come because Heeseung hyung and Jay hyung are probably gonna leave me for girls.” he rests his head on your shoulder for a moment.
“Why don’t you get yourself some girls too.” you suggest and he shakes his head.
“I’m too shy.” he says quietly and you giggle.
“Alright fine, I’ll go.” you finally say and they all celebrate. “Jake’s not gonna be there right?”
“Uhm,” Heeseung looks over to Jake’s lunch table nervously. “I don’t think so.”
“You don’t think so?” you cock an eyebrow.
“He won’t be there,” Jay says. “It’ll be fine.”
You feel someone bump into your shoulder as you walk to history.
“What the hell?” you say and turn around to see who the culprit is. Of course it’s Jake. He shrugs with a half smile. That fucking ass.
After a few more classes you head home and start preparing for the bonfire party. It’s at a beach so you decide to wear your favorite bikini under your shirt and shorts. Your phone begins to buzz and it's a facetime call from Jungwon.
“Hola~” you greet him.
“Hi~” he says. “Can you take me there? My parents are at work.”
“Sure.” you say while putting all of your essentials into a purse.
“Also,” he hesitates. “I think Jake hyung is gonna be there.”
“What? How do you know?”
“I heard him talking about it during p.e.” he says quietly and you groan.
“Fuck, I don’t wanna go anymore.” you say.
“No you have to go, I will die without you.” Jungwon pleads. “It’ll be fun, we'll just stay away from him.”
“It’s gonna be hard to stay away from that giant ego taking up the whole place.” you roll your eyes.
“He’s not that bad noona, he’s actually pretty nice.” Jungwon shrugs.
“Don’t betray me like that,” you scold him. “You’re on my team alright?”
“Okay okay.” he surrenders, giggling.
You pick Jungwon up and give him the aux for the 30 minute drive to the beach.
You guys groove to SZA together.
Jungwon rolls down the window while you're on the highway and sticks his head out like a dog. He kind of is like a dog (in a good way). He’d be a shiba inu.
“Whoooo!!” he screams as the wind whips through his hair, you smile.
When you get there you park your car and get the beach towels from the backseat.
“Did you put sunscreen on?” you as Jungwon and he shakes his head. “Why do you never listen to me?”
You get a bottle of sunscreen out of your purse and rub a dollop on his face. He scrunches his nose.
“It feels like you're rubbing cake batter on me.” he complains.
“You’ll thank me when you’re fifty and you aren’t a wrinkly wreck.” you tell him while spreading it over his cheeks.
“Can we be done now?” he whines and you sigh.
“Fine.”
You two approach the crowd of people suntanning, drinking, playing volleyball, and playing in the ocean.
You drop your stuff next to Heeseung’s and Jay’s before looking around for them. They’re playing volleyball with who on the opposing team? Jake Sim.
Jungwon must’ve noticed you shooting lasers through your eyes because he grabs your arm. “Come on, let’s go swim.” he tugs his t-shirt over his head and jogs over to the water.
You follow suit, only feeling a little self conscious about stripping with Jake Sim only so far away. But it’s only because you don’t want to be vulnerable in front of your worst enemy, right?
Jungwon’s already relaxing among the waves when you get to the shore. “Why’d you go so deep?” you call out to him.
“It’s not that deep,” he says back.
You swim around with him for a bit before forcing him to look for pretty shells with you.
He gasps. “Baby crab!” he rushes to pick it up. “Look.” he holds it up to you.
You try to pet it without freaking it out. “What if it bites you?”
“It won’t, we’re friends.”
The sun is nearly gone by the time you’re done shell searching and swimming so you head over to the bonfire. You wrap a towel around yourself and snuggle up to Jay. He scrunches his nose.
“It’s cold,” you defend yourself.
Heeseung hands you a white claw and you crack it open.
“What are we doing now?” you ask but you can’t hear Heeseung’s answer over the sight of Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, and Niki sitting right across from you. You notice how the bonfire highlights the muscles in Jake’s chest and arms. The warm orange light washing over him makes it look like he’s glowing. Is this what Apollo would’ve looked like? “Huh?” you ask Hee.
“We’re probably just gonna play dumb highschool games.” he says.
You inhale and take a big swig of your seltzer.
“Truth or dare time~” Bree sing songs. “Sunoo truth or dare?”
“Truth,” Sunoo answers.
“Do you have a crush on anyone and if so, who?” she asks and he rolls his eyes.
“I have a crush on myself.” he says confidently.
“Fair enough, you go now.” she says to him.
“Heeseung hyung, truth or dare?” Sunoo asks.
“Dare,” he replies and Sunoo giggles.
“Give your phone to Jay and let him text anyone anything he wants.”
Heeseung groans and throws his head back. “Oh God.”
Jay cackles an evil laugh. “Gimme.”
Heeseung reluctantly hands Jay his phone. “You’re gonna text Sophie aren’t you.”
Sophie Morales, Heeseung ex. They broke up only a month ago after half a year of dating. This was about to be brutal.
“You know me so well.” Jay smiles.
“Please don’t say anything too horrible.” Heeseung pleads.
“Sophie,” Jay narrates his text message. “I miss you and your huge tits. Also I’m sorry for not telling you while we were dating but your feet are really fucking ugly.”
Heeseung buries his head into his hands, laughing. “Fucking Christ.”
“And your breath stinks,” Jay continues. “At least your boobs are nice.”
This is what I get for befriending males. You think to yourself.
“Alright that’s enough.” Heeseung snatches his phone away while everyone giggles. “My turn since I was the victim. y/n, truth or dare?” “Truth,”
“What’s your biggest regret?”
“Becoming friends with Jay, because he’s insane.”
Jay guffaws. “I’ve been nothing but good to you.”
You roll your eyes.
The game goes on for a bit until it lands on Jungwon.
“Noona, truth or dare?”
You’d usually go for truth, but you didn’t want people to think you were boring. “Dare.”
“I dare you and Jake hyung to talk to each other in private for at least five minutes.” he says, crossing his arms.
Your eyes widen and you look over at Jake, he looks like he wants to drown himself.
“What? Why?” you ask urgently.
“Because I’m tired of you guys hating each other for no reason. Now go.” Jungwon shoos you away.
“Yeah go talk.” Niki says to Jake.
Both of you don’t budge. Jay tugs at your arm. “Come on, Jake and y/n becoming friends!”
The whole group starts chanting. “JAKE AND Y/N BECOMING FRIENDS!”
You had to admit that their enthusiasm was kind of endearing, so you swallow your pride and walk over to the lifeguard tower. You hear him not far behind you.
You climb up the stairs and let your feet hang over the ledge of the patio.
He sits down next to you.
You let a few moments of silence pass before speaking up. “I don’t want to be here as much as you do, so let’s just wait for the five minutes to pass and then go.”
“Damn,” he says. “Do you really hate me that much?”
You roll your eyes. “What do you think?”
“What did I ever do to you?” he scoffs.
“I don’t need to justify my feelings.” you cross your arms.
“Why are you so dense?” he grumbles.
You whip your body over to him. “I’m the dense one?”
“Yeah,” he says proudly. You want to slap the smug look off of his pretty face. Normal face. Slightly, almost, barely good looking face.
“Such a prick,” you mumble, turning away.
“What’d you call me?” he scrunches his eyebrows.
You look him right in the eyes. You never noticed how dark and piercing they were. “A fucking prick. Cause you are one.”
His black hair is still damp and poking into his eyes. His lips are parted and they look so soft that you almost want to kiss him. But he beats you to it.
I should push him away. Push him away you dumbass. You kept telling yourself but you couldn’t do it. His lips felt too good against yours.
Your arms snake around his waist as he lays you onto your back.
You wish you had a hundred hands so you could touch all of him. Two weren’t enough. He feels like silk and he tastes like red velvet.
He pushes your jaw up so he can get to your neck. You exhale as his tongue dances on your skin. He grinds his hips into yours and you let out a small moan. Why are you letting him affect you like this? Idiot.
“I thought you hated me?” he smirks while kissing your chest.
“I do.” you breathe out.
“You sure?” he asks, his fingers traveling down your stomach and into your bikini bottoms.
“Mhm.” you say.
He kisses your collarbone. “People you hate don’t make you wet like this.”
That just makes you throb even more.
“Fuck off,” you say and he backs up.
“Really?” he says. “Because I will.”
You roll your eyes and pull him in by the back of the neck.
“Touch me,” you say and he happily obliges. You knew were in public but it was dark and honestly, you didn’t care.
“Such a slut,” he says while running a finger up and down your slit. “If you wanted me this badly you should’ve said so sooner.”
“I don’t want you asshole.” you breathe out as he circles your clit.
“You just asked me to touch you princess,” he kisses your neck. “I think that’s good evidence.”
You rub your fingers through the back of his hair and tug it back, exposing his neck. He lets out a small moan. You kiss his neck, sucking and nibbling every now and then. When you pull away there’s at least three red blotches that go from his throat to his chest.
“People are gonna see those you know?” he says.
“Whatever.” you roll your eyes.
“Are you marking me or something? Telling everyone that I’m yours?” he boasts.
It’s confusing how your anger is feeding into your lust for him.
“Shut up and fuck me.” you say and he cocks a brow.
“Maybe if you ask nicely,” he kisses your cheek sweetly. You want to wipe it off and slap him in the face.
“Who do you think you are?” you scoff at him.
“Come on dont play with me,” he pushes one finger into you and you moan. “I can tell that you want it.”
It was true. You were practically gushing.
“More,” you say, wanting another finger.
“Where are your manners?” he smirks.
You swallow your pride. “Please?”
“Good girl,” he says and it sends tingles down your spine.
He pulls your bikini bottoms to the side and rubs his thumb up your slit. “Such a pretty cunt.”
Your thighs are already trembling.
“I really thought you’d still be hating me right now.” he says lowly. “Do I make you that weak?”
You snap to your senses for a moment. “Fuck you.”
“I am.” he snickers and you roll your eyes.
“Don’t give me attitude princess.” he warns you with a dangerous smile.
“Or what?” you test him.
“Do you really wanna find out?”
“What do you think you’re intimidating or something?” you ask and he scoffs.
He sits up and grabs your arm. “Get up.”
“What?”
“Get up.” he says sternly and you do.
He grabs your hand, leading you somewhere.
“Where are we going?” you ask, agitated. If you really didn’t want to go you wouldn’t, but you secretly wanted to continue what was going on.
“My car.”
“What? Why?”
“You’ll see.”
“Hey! Where are you going?” Jungwon calls out. “Don’t leave me!” “I’ll be just a second!” you reply with an unsure smile.
“Backseat.” Jake says as you approach his Mercedes.
So bossy, you think.
You sit in the back seat and before you know it he’s pulling you into his lap.
“Let’s continue shall we?” he says and you don’t waste any time getting your lips on his.
He pushes your hips down onto his and you whimper. You were already so wet and this was just making it worse.
“Please, I can’t wait any longer.” you say, not being able to hold it in.
“For what?” he nips at your neck.
“I need to feel you inside of me.” you plead.
“That’s better.” he tugs his shorts down and pulls your swimsuit to the side.
You grab the base of him before slowly sinking down. “Fuck yes.” you moan in relief.
He fills you up perfectly and his tip brushes your g-spot every time you bounce.
“So fucking tight.” he growls, holding onto your hips tight.
Your legs begin to tremble from the pleasure so he grabs you by the waist and lays you on your back.
He snaps his hips into yours and you whine.
He smirks. “Look at you all spread out for me,” he kisses your neck. “Taking this cock deep inside you.”
Your fingers trail down to rub at your clit. “Please don’t stop.”
He flips you over into doggy and tugs your hair, bringing your ear up to his mouth.
“Tell me how bad you want it.”
“Really bad,” you whimper.
He smacks your ass and you let out a small squeal.
“Touch with yourself while I fuck you.” he lets you go and you rest on the door. Your fingers move to play with your pussy.
His hands are tight on your waist as he pounds into you.
You feel your knees start to give out and your cunt start to pulse around him.
He chuckles. “Are you close sweetheart?”
“Yeah,” you exhale. “Please make me cum, please I need it so bad.”
“Why should I think you deserve it?”
“Please, I can’t hold it any longer.” you say and he stops his movements completely.
He gets close to your ear. “You get to cum when I say so okay?”
You accept defeat. “Okay.”
You start to get more and more flustered as he continues to fuck you just right.
“Fuck Jake I can’t,” you whimper and hold onto the car door for dear life.
He pulls out suddenly and you complain before feeling his tongue on you. Your body tenses up from the pleasure.
“You taste so fucking good,” he says and you arch your back, pushing your pussy into his mouth. He moans against you.
After only a couple circles on your clit with his tongue, you’re ready to come undone. You grab onto his hand.
“Wait wait I’m close,”
And before you can utter another word he slams his cock into you and brings his hand around you to rub your clit.
“Cum on this cock sweetheart, I know you can do it.” he encourages you.
He smiles as your moans get louder and more high pitched.
Your legs start to shake and he grabs you tight. He comes up to your ear. “Be a good girl for me won’t you.”
Your eyes roll back as bliss runs through your entire body. He was probably the best lay you’ve ever had.
Your body goes slack as he cums inside of you.
“Fuck,” he growls and slowly pulls out. He picks you up and holds you in his arms as you try to ride out the trembling.
“How am I supposed to clean up?” you ask.
“Maybe you can swim again?” he jokes and you punch him in the arm. “Do you still hate me?”
“One hundred percent.” you say confidently.
“Are you kidding?” he scoffs. “My kids are in you right now.”
You fake gag and he laughs.

Oblivius Chapter 10
We've come to the end my friends.
This is the last chapter for Francis & Spills and hopefully you'll enjoy it. I have had such a great time writing this story and have received so many lovely messages & asks about my two dumb idiot babies.
Although this is the end of the main story - you can always send in an ask about them because I will literally jump back in at the drop of a hat. (and who knows, might randomly drop a chapter / dabble if I get into my feelings)
Thanks for sticking with me!

He knew he shouldn’t have been nervous, but he couldn’t help it.
He was working on his feelings for her, on coming to terms with his hurt and his anger. Once the initial burn of it cooled he could admit to himself that they’d both been utterly stupid. Both were to blame for how things shook out.
He knew this was the right course of action. He knew from the way he felt right at this moment, getting ready to pick Spills up for their first official date. He’d never once in the whole time he’d been with Claudia felt like this.
He had decided to keep it simple. Dinner and a movie. Can’t fuck that up and after everything that had transpired, he needed simple. It had been a couple of weeks since their conversation and things were a little awkward at first - trying to navigate this new dynamic but their conversations had gotten more comfortable. Both of them agreed to make the first date official.
He couldn’t help but smile as he made his way over to her place, even though his stomach was in knots. Even though a small part of him was terrified to fuck this up. Nothing could be sadder for him than for this not to work and have them drift apart but when he saw her rushing over to his truck all the doubts and worries melted away.
Of course this’ll work. I love you.
“Ready?” He asked and the smile was bright on her face when she climbed in and buckled her seat belt.
“Of course. Where are you taking me?” She ran her fingers through his hair and he could have purred, the touch felt so right.
“To our place.” He pulled out and made his way over to Marcellos.
--
The food was just as good as you remembered. The two of you found your rhythm as you ordered your meals and when they came he wasted no time in tasting your food and offering his plate to you. You sighed at how your heart swelled. This was so easy - so natural and you kicked yourself mentally over and over for not opening your mouth earlier.
You’d been afraid that things would be awkward after your talk and at first it was. The conversations and texts were weird, impersonal and almost forced but after a little while it was easy to fall back into your friendship.
It was so easy because you were friends. You already had the solid foundations for this to work and you were going to put everything you had into it.
You laughed, and you ate, and you enjoyed each other's company - forgetting the time and when he ordered the tiramisu and two forks you smiled big.
“I already bought the movie tickets, so we should leave soon or we’ll miss the previews.” You told him as the waiter cleared the table.
“You did?” He was surprised. “What movie are we watching then?” He asked as he paid for dinner.
“I picked a horror movie, looked terrifying.” you pulled out the tickets and he laughed. Kissing your hand as he walked you out of the restaurant.
--
He paid for dinner, so you bought the movie and popcorn. You made it with enough time to get good seats in the middle of the theatre, for the best vantage point according to him. In reality you didn’t actually care where you sat.
He lifted the divider as soon as the two of you sat, making sure you could tuck yourself into his side at the scary bits and you wasted no time getting comfortable. His arm was around you reassuringly as the trailers started, the two of you whispering a bit too loudly, deciding what was worth your time and what wasn’t.
You tucked your face into his neck at the jump scares, asking in whispers if it was okay to look. You could feel the rumble of his chest when he laughed, not unkindly. Felt him kissing your forehead softly when it was okay to look.
Despite having already kissed before, despite having had sex once before - this felt so intimate. You looked up at him to find him already smiling at you, your heart racing at the closeness. At the tenderness on his face.
You kissed him. Petal soft and chaste at first but he deepened it, his big warm hand coming up to rest softly on your cheek. His tongue tasted like popcorn and sugar and you couldn’t help but smile into it at first. The movie forgotten, the fear morphing into warmth and desire for him. As far as you were concerned - this was your first real kiss, and it took your breath away.
The rest of the movie was spent with your head on his shoulder. His hand steadily rubbing your arm and his nose buried in your hair and you couldn’t remember ever having a better first date.
---
You left the theatre quietly, the walk back to the truck was a leisurely stroll. Both of you smiling to yourselves as you held hands, your other hand holding onto his arm - you couldn’t get close enough.
He walked you to the passenger side, pressing you up against it to kiss you again quickly. You could see that he was taking every opportunity to press his lips to yours and you let him. Both of you quiet, breathless and giddy. You didn’t need words. Not for this.
After placing a couple more onto your neck and cheeks he remembered himself, and opened the door for you, running around the truck to get in. His hand found its way into yours on your lap as he drove you home.
He walked you to your door and asking him to come in was on the tip of your tongue but he forestalled. Speaking before you could ask.
“I’m coming in to check every corner so you aren’t scared.” He followed you in, closing the door behind him as he spoke. “But I’m not staying over, as much as I want to. I want to take this slow.” He was looking at you and you could have cried, not from disappointment, but from regret. Regret at having wasted so much time - regret that it took so goddamn long for you to get the courage to tell him how you felt and he must have seen the emotion on your face because he was holding onto your face in a flash. Cradling your jaw softly.
“What’s wrong Spills? Did I go too fast?” His brow was furrowed and despite your happiness the regrets swallowed you whole, you couldn’t stop the first few tears from falling.
“No no! I’m sorry. This was perfect and I just- I feel bad that we waited so long and I wasted so much time and we should have done this so fucking long ago.” You couldn’t stop the sob from clawing it’s way up your throat as he held you and he sighed loudly. Pulling you into the crook of his neck within the soft glow of your home.
“No - stop honey. Stop crying please - this isn’t your fault. I shouldn’t have blamed you for everything. We’ve both been absolute idiots and maybe if we’d talked about this like grown-ups years ago all this bullshit could have been avoided, please stop crying.” He kissed your forehead as you clung to him. The smell of his clothes, the feel of him against your skin - his voice in your ear. It was all home and the longer he held you the better you felt.
“Listen, I was angry and hurt but the more I think about it the more I realize that we’re both to blame but it’s okay because we’re starting again right?” He pulled away to tilt your face up to look at him.
“We’re exactly where we’re supposed to be and this is going to work. It’s going to work because as far as I’m concerned you’re it. You’re the only person for me and I want to be with you for the rest of my life. Do you understand? Forget everything and focus on this.” He was looking at you so intensely it was hard not to cry all over again. “Tell me you understand honey.” He kissed your cheeks, one after the other.
“Yes, I understand. I feel the same way about you Francis.” You smiled a watery smile up at him and he returned it.
“Good, now I’m going to check before I leave- kiss you goodnight and then we’re going to go out again.” And he did.
“Good morning!” You climbed into the truck after putting your beach bag and your cooler in the back. His face smiling at you brightly as he leaned over to you, lips pursed. You kissed him and he handed you your hazelnut coffee.
“Good morning honey.” His good mood was shining through as he pulled away from your home and drove towards the beach, just the two of you. “Did you bring me breakfast?” He kept looking over to see if you had anything for him, which of course you did.
“Of course - open up.” You put the buttery bagel half in his mouth and he ate it with gusto.
---
The day was gorgeous, absolutely perfect for the beach and he set about getting the blankets and the umbrella ready for the two of you. You watched him, savouring the sight of his deft hands making quick work of everything.
“You’re staring at me Spills.” He said it with a smile on his lips and you didn’t look away.
“Yes I am.” You couldn’t help but match his tone - he turned to you then and leaned in to kiss you. He kissed you at every turn and you cherished it, you loved the way he showed his affection for you. He was a physical creature and he luxuriated in being close to you.
“Good.” He smiled as he handed you the sunscreen and once you'd finished, he made himself comfortable against you. He chose to sit with his back pressed up against your chest, between your legs - despite having laid out his own towel.
--
You were floating.
The water was enveloping you, lapping softly at your skin as you let it carry you. The sun was shining and you had your eyes closed to shield you from it. You had gone into the water first while Frances read but now he was there too, always an arms length away but it wasn’t close enough and you both fell back into your usual rhythm of splashing and teasing until you were wrapped around each other.
You couldn’t help but wrap your arms around his neck, pressing yourself up against him. Even in the cool water, his skin was warm and you felt as he wrapped your legs around his middle. His hands started at your waist, but they quickly moved down and held onto your ass. You laughed.
“What are you doing Francis?” You asked it with a smile, these days it felt like everything you did was with a smile.
“I’m holding onto you Spills.” He was nuzzling his nose into your neck, placing little kisses around your collar bones and up the column of your neck to your ear. You hadn’t had sex since the night before his wedding, the two of you agreeing to take it slow but his hunger for you was becoming more and more evident as the weeks rolled by. His hands roaming a little more each time you were together.
“Onto my ass?” You looked into his face, cherishing it.
“That’s right.” He pressed his face into the crook of your neck, wanting to be closer, always closer. “Do you not want me to?” He smiled lazily - biting at your ear playfully.
“I never said that.” You breathed out the words, he was affecting you and you had to remember that you were in public. You fell into a comfortable silence. The two of you happy to float in the water as well as your happiness alike.
“Francis?” You were staring out into the water as you spoke, your head resting over his shoulder.
“Hmm?” He was resting his head on yours, eyes on the shore.
“Promise me we’ll live near the ocean one day.” You rubbed his back, tracing lines into his skin with pruny fingers.
“I promise, one day we’ll have a little house by the ocean. You’ll be able to hear it when the windows are open.”
The two of you floated out there for a long time, peaceful and quiet and in love.
—-
Your hand found its way into his curls on the way home, the salt water always defined them and it was too inviting to ignore. He never minded.
His hand found its way onto your lap and the two of you were connected the whole way.
“Come in. Park the rustbucket and stay over.” You didn’t want him to leave, not yet. You were ready for the next step in your relationship.
“Are you sure?” He asked even though he was parking the truck.
“Yes, we can order in.” You smiled a smile that had nothing to do with food.
“You’re gonna kill me Spills.” He was hurriedly unbuckling his seat belt, he wanted this just as much as you did and you couldn’t get inside fast enough. When you were finally inside he almost tackled you. Crashing into you with a bruising force, mouth insistent and unforgiving in its need for you.
“I want it in my bed.” You were pulling his shirt off as you pushed him towards your room and he growled.
“What do you want, baby? Tell me.” He was pulling off your shirt, undoing the top piece of your bathing suit as you finally got him into your room.
“I want you to fuck me. Make me cum like you did before, make me feel good.” You pushed him onto the bed and straddled him. He wasted no time and within a few seconds your nipple was in his mouth. Your grip on his curls was tight as you held him close to your chest. His tongue a slow swirl around the pebbled peak of your breast. First one, then the other. He was ruthless in his teasing, sucking roughly and then biting softly.
“You want my cock baby?” He was kissing your chest as he held onto your ass, your clothed core pressed up against the stiffening pillar of his sex. The arousal was a burning coal in the pit of your stomach and every time he pulled you closer it burned hotter. Your cunt ached for him, drooling out your passion into your underwear, the threads of you unspooling for him at your entrance.
“Yes, give it to me - please.” You bit at his neck, tasting the salt of the ocean on his skin and he moaned. You used the momentary distraction to pull off him and finish undressing. You helped him pull off his swim trunks and you pulled him into your shower, both of you were still covered in sand and you wanted to wash the day off him.
His body curled around you as you turned the shower on. His cock was hard and pressed up against the cleft in your ass. His hands were around your waist, holding onto your belly; your breasts. Anything and everything he could get his hands on and you both laughed as you got into the shower. You dragged him under the hot spray, helping him wash the salt and sand from his skin and his hair and he did the same for you.
Once you were clean he pressed you up against the wall, the cool tile against your nipples made you hiss and he pulled your waist toward him, one hand on your back to tilt your pelvis enough for him to slide in.
“Can I fuck you like this baby?” He leaned forward to press a kiss to your neck. You wiggled your hips against him in response.
“Yes Francis, give it to me just like this - please.” He groaned as he rubbed his cock through your folds, even under the spray he could feel how wet you were and he slid in to the hilt. His pelvis flush with the plump skin of your ass. “Fuck, I feel so full - you’re so big.” You smiled at the groan he let out at your words.
“You’re so tight, feels so fucking good.” He snapped his hips, fucking into you hard and fast. Both of you so keyed up that this wouldn’t last and you knew it. “That’s it baby, take it. Just - like- that.” He held onto your shoulder for leverage and you reached down with one hand to rub at your clit.
“Yes, make yourself cum, soak my cock.” He pulled you up holding onto your breast as he split you open on his dick.
“I’m gonna cum…” Your orgasm crashed into you, making you clench around him while he sped up, chasing his own high and you felt it when he groaned into your ear. Felt him emptying himself into you.
—-
You were both naked, laying in your bed in the fading light of the sun. His head was resting on your chest as you played with his hair.
“I'm starving, have you seen my phone? We should order a pizza.” He got up and looked around and for a moment you couldn’t believe that your Francis was walking around your place naked. Even though he’d fucked you in the shower, even though he’d fucked you in your bed; made you cum with his fingers and his mouth and his cock. Your pleasure seemingly more important than his.
“I think you dropped it onto the counter when we came in.”
He came back with it in his hand and ordered your usual order before dropping it onto your nightstand.
“We have forty minutes until it gets here.” He smiled darkly as he crawled up between your legs and despite everything you’d done, you flushed, wrapping your arms and legs around him lazily.
“Better make them count.” You kissed him, and he did.
When the pizza finally came you needed another shower, which you took together. He stayed the night, and never went home again.

Age: 30
“Francis, wake up honey, happy birthday!” You were kissing his face, pulling him softly out of sleep. He groaned and smiled as he buried his face into your hair. His hand travelled down to grab at your ass. Even half asleep he pawed at you, making you laugh.
“Mmmph, sleep.” He mumbled onto your skin. Soft and pliant on the bed you shared.
“Francis, come on - get up so we can celebrate.” You pulled him away slightly so you could pepper his face with kisses, something he loved. “Come on baby, get up, I have a few surprises for you.” You ran your fingers through his hair. It was getting longer and you loved it like this.
“Are you naked?” He didn’t open his eyes but you felt his wits sharpening.
“No, that's later, I have other surprises for you, three of them. Hmm?” You waited a few minutes and he opened his eyes.
“Alright alright, I’m up. What’s the plan?” He yawned and stretched.
“The plan is they’re coming to get you in about half an hour so get dressed.” You got up out of bed pulling him up with you.
“Who?” He was lost.
“Your surprises.” He frowned and then it dawned on him.
“Pope? Benny and Will?” His eyebrows shot up in shock.
“Yes! They’re on their way so come on, up up let’s get you ready, they’re taking you out and then we’re going to have a big dinner.” He was moving on his own now and you could see how happy he was.
“Did you set this up?” He was brushing his teeth and you nodded.
“Yes I spoke to Pope a few weeks ago, thought it would make you happy to have them here for your birthday. They’re going to take you out for the morning and then we can meet up at your parents place for a big dinner.” You smiled at him.
“You’re not coming?” He frowned despite his joy at seeing his closest friends in a few minutes.
“No, you have your time with them and I’ll see you in a few hours.” He pulled you close.
“I love you Spills.” He kissed you, deep and insistent, all of his feelings for you behind it and you had to pull away as his phone went off.
“I love you too Francis, now get your ass in gear. See you later, have fun!” You pushed him out, patting him on the butt to get him moving.

Age: 33
“I am completely in love with it Francis, look at the windows!” You were walking through the little house like a kid in a candy store. Trying to take it all in.
“It’s really nice, floors are good.” He was looking at the wood, taking stock of the layout and the sturdiness of the staircase leading upstairs.
“Do you think we could afford it?” You were pulling him towards the kitchen, to the big window over the sink where you could just see the water. The yard was a little on the smaller side but it was big enough to put a little patio set and a grill, big enough for the three of you.
“Do you want it?” He stood behind you, his arms around your waist as you both stared out through the window.
“Yes, I think we’ll be really happy here. Do we have enough?” You turned to press a kiss to the stubble on his cheek.
“Yes, we have enough saved and with you going back to work we’ll be fine.” You felt the little hands then, grabbing at both of you and he bent down to pick up your daughter. She was tired and rested her head on his shoulder. “I think she likes it.” He ran his fingers through her soft curls as he kissed her forehead. You couldn't help but rub her little back as she melted into his shoulder.
“Open the window.” He gestured towards the latch and when you did you heard the soft sounds of the ocean drifting in. He was smiling at you, holding onto the little life you’d both created.
“Welcome home Spills."

For the requests‚ what about a family trip to the beach with Purgatory Hall + the royals and MC? Like Simeon and Barbatos setting up a picnic table meanwhile MC and Luke play around in the sand searching for shiny or strange things to building a sand castle (everything also keeping Solomon and Diavolo far from the preparations for the picnic)‚ playing with water guns or swimming. And after eating maybe playing a match of volleyball sand, admiring the sunset till it's nigth time and before going back‚ playing with fireworks, do a little stargazing or something--
Feel free to ignore this and thanks in advance anyway~
FINALLY I've come to write something for this lovely request. It's packed with so many fun ideas that I kinda went overboard with it xD this means the story is so big I'll have to split it into two posts!
To Bisshitu: I wanted to thank you for your continuous support! I see you in my notifs a lot and I really appreciate it!! (ALSO I AM SO SORRY YOU'VE WAITED SO LONG I HOPE YOU WILL STILL ENJOY THIS CHAOS)
Literally just 13 idiots on a beach trip~
Part 1
MC was leaning against one of the walls in the giant entrance halls of the House of Lamentation. Standing next to them, Solomon handed MC an opened bag of spicy newt chips. "Want some?" He asked and MC gladly took a few while constantly watching the commotion that was going on in the rest of the hallway.
Who would've guessed that going on a vacation with the seven rulers of hell would involve the most panicked, loud and chaotic packing of bags to have ever existed?
Well, let's be real, MC did expect it, but maybe not to the degree that they were in amusement about now.
The oldest brother had called the others for a "luggage check" as he had been sceptical of his brothers' talents in packing reasonable items in an, likewise reasonable, amount of suitcases and bags.
And of course, the first one to show up had to present his luggage in the form of... nothing.
Yes, Beelzebub came up to Lucifer, only the remains of a sandwich in his hand (which didn't last longer than three more seconds), confused when Lucifer mustered him with an angered glance.
"Where's your luggage?" Lucifer asked, to which Beel only gave a shrug.
"We're going to the beach, right? Which means I'll only need my swimming trunks, and I wear those underneath my pants."
Now the confusion has wandered over to rest on Lucifer's face. "But... Won't you need clothes to change into, or at least pyjamas for the night?"
"Hm..." Beel scratched the back of his head while thinking about Lucifer's words. "Nah, I don't need those. I'm planning to stay at the beach all the time, so..." Then suddenly, he gasped as he remembered something. "Wait, I do have something else prepared to bring along!"
Beel reached into his pocket, and when he pulled out a hand-written list that unrolled itself, plonking onto the carpet and rolling all the way to Lucifer's feet, the avatar of Pride knew exactly what said list was going to be.
"There are a few food stands that I'd like to try out..." Beel announced, eyeing the paper. "First of all, there's one selling shaved ice, which I want to compare to the ice-cream from this other stand, but who's also selling parfaits of which I kind of want to try all twenty-five flavours... Also then there's of course-"
"Beel" Lucifer interrupted the avatar of Gluttony in a strict tone. "Go pack a proper bag."
"But-"
"Now."
Letting out a sigh, Lucifer watched as Beel left.
But little did he know, this had only been the beginning of the chaos...
Moments later, Lucifer has found himself explaining to Satan why taking 70 different books with him would be ridiculously much. Also Mammon had taken this opportunity to "lend" some of his brothers possessions, arguing that he "needed those for the beach". This had worked until his swift fingers touched Levi's limited edition Ruri-chan sunscreen.
So, as Lucifer was spam-calling Belphie to wake him up and finally have him start packing, a sudden argument could be heard from upstairs:
"... How dare you steal my precious Hana Ruri 'magical sun ray protective lotion for all blooming heroes of justice'?! This very sunscreen is an homage to the legendary beach episode where Azuki-tan got a sunburn and couldn't help Ruri-chan in the intense battle against the evil kelp-army that was threatening to overgrow the local reef-"
"OKAY OKAY, HERE'S YOUR STUPID CREAM NOW LEAVE ME ALONE"
"S-STUPID CREAM?!?! DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW PRECIOUS THIS ITEM IS TO A FAN LIKE-"
That was all Lucifer could understand as an awfully annoyed scream Mammon let out was drowning Levi's gibberish. Rubbing the bridge of his nose, Lucifer knew this vacation was going to be one intense experience...
An hour later, the group found itself where this little story had started off. The Purgatory Hall crew had already arrived long ago, enjoying the chaos together with MC -- who, btw, had been the only one to pass Lucifer's vibe luggage check right away.
Slowly it felt like most of the brothers were ready to go, only Asmodeus was left in the judgemental glare of the avatar of Pride.
But Lucifer noticed they already were way behind the time they were supposed to meet Diavolo at his castle. So, to Asmo's luck, he let off of trying to see what's inside the pretty boy's suitcase and announced the group's departure.
In enthusiasm shared by almost everyone, they let out a big cheer:
"Off to the beach we go!"
Some of the demons had whined about wanting to visit the human world beach. But as those idiot boys literally couldn't be trusted to act responsibly (which is okay, we love them regardless), Diavolo offered to stay at the beach resort he created in the Devildom.
Looking over the endless ocean, surrounded by the equally large beach and glistening in an artificial sun's light, MC was wondering just how powerful the demon prince must be to have created all this. But they were left only little time to be in awe over the location, as their friends demanded their attention shortly after having arrived.
Without going into much detail -- the day was packed with lots and lots of fun. MC was running around the beach, playing and goofing around with their friends, only to take a collective rest and then go do something silly again. Only a few other demons were to be found at the resort, but those were some acquaintances of Diavolo's family, and the group seemed to have scared them off of the beach after, like, an hour or so. Hence, the whole beach served as their playground for whatever activity they wanted to do, until in the afternoon, most of them were about to collapse from exhaustion and hunger.
"That's right, we didn't really have a proper meal since coming here" Asmo noticed as several tummy grumbles undermined his statement.
"We DID bring a picnic basket..." Satan mumbled. "But some genius had to let Beel carry it."
The culprit gave an immediate pout. "I had to hurry, 'kay?!" Mammon huffed. "MC was already at the beach and I--" he stopped. "... U-uh... I mean..."
Gaining a round of sighs and shaking heads, his brothers however decided to let Mammon's... mammon-ness slide for once. Mostly because, approaching from the distance, Barbatos and Solomon were getting closer, their hands full with bags that seemed to be stuffed with food.
"Y-yoU BroUGhT S-nAcKs?!" Beelzebub was already on his feet running towards them but Barbatos' stare was actually enough to make him stop.
"Not before the dishes are prepared, Beelzebub" Barbatos explained calmly, but with this very weird hidden tone in his voice that gave everyone chills despite the scorching summer heat.
"We figured everyone must be starving by now, so Barbatos suggested we'd make a little picnic party with everyone" Solomon cheered, presenting the bags in his hands.
"That sounds lovely" Simeon could be heard among the general noise of approval. "Let me help you prepare everything, Barbatos."
The demon butler beamed him a smile, thanking the angel for his help.
Then, Solomon spoke up again, and every bit of joy vanished from all their faces: "Thank you, Simeon! With the three of us working together the food will be ready in no time!"
--------------
Barbatos was putting all kinds of spices into a bowl to create a delicious sauce. Right next to him, Simeon prepared mouth-watering sandwiches.
And behind their back, there was this chopping sound. Chop reaching their chop ears in an chop never- chop ending thread, over and chop over again...
Swallowing his tension, Simeon was fighting a frown. "He's only cutting the fruits..." He whispered. "You shouldn't be able to mess up a fruit salad..."
"I know" Barbatos mumbled back. "However I cannot fight this unease that urges me to check if he's really-" He was interrupted by a very unsettling "oops" coming from that certain sorcerer at the cutting board.
In honestly quicker than the blink of an eye Simeon and Barbatos were at Solomon's side, frantically scanning the table for whatever Solomon must've messed up. When all they found were slices of fruit that, well, might have been chopped a bit wonky, they gave Solomon a confused stare.
"I cut off too much of this poor Hellberry's pull" Solomon explained. "Oh well, I'll just cut around the stem and add it to the fruit salad like this."
Both Barbatos and Simeon couldn't help but stare for a moment longer, their brains not really comprehending NOT finding an abomination in Solomon's cooking.
"Can I help you two with anything?" The sorcerer then asked.
"U-uhm, no..." Simeon mumbled. "It's all fine, we just..."
"We wanted to see if there's anything we can help you with" Barbatos jumped in to continue.
"Thanks, but I'm fine. Actually I'm almost finished, so maybe I can help one of you afterw-"
"Nononononono...!" Simeon almost whined. "I-its fine! We're actually almost finished ourselves, so..."
Solomon looked back, raising an eyebrow. "Doesn't look like it to me..."
Suddenly, another voice joined the group.
"I agree! You two are likely just being humble again" Diavolo had walked up to their working station a moment ago, but neither of them seemed to have noticed in their stress. The prince continued: "That's why I decided to lend you a hand as well. This is a vacation for all of us, so I should not burden my loyal butler with all the work."
"That's a commendable attitude for royalty like yourself" Solomon cheered. "Well then, I think Simeon and Barbatos could use a hand."
Diavolo was already squeezing his quite broad body into the tiny cooking space, this certain over-excited sparkle in his eyes as he mustered the food.
Barbatos and Simeon on the other hand were exchanging glances, so immensely stressed that their thoughts were almost audible:
'Barbatos I don't think I can handle any more of this stress' Simeon stared.
'We shouldn't have let Solomon help in the first place, our kindness was foolish' Barbatos stared back.
'What do we do now Barbatos this is the only food we have left, they cannot ruin it'
Thankfully, the perfect butler was not planning to let their "help" threaten the food for any longer. "Young master, I highly appreciate that you thought of my well-being. Which is why I indeed have a request for you and Solomon."
Simeon almost barged in on a frightened impulse, but Barbatos continued before anyone could raise their voice. "There is dessert stored in our hotel's main storage. Would you be so kind and bring enough for our whole group?"
A little surprised, Diavolo agreed. He waited for Solomon to finish cutting the fruits, then they went off to the hotel.
Finally able to catch a breath, Simeon shot Barbatos a last glance. "That was easier than expected. Why didn't we let Solomon bring the desserts earlier?"
Back to mixing spices, Barbatos didn't look up at the question. "What desserts?" He simply asked.
"... Uhm..." Simeon was quite startled. "Are there... Are there no desserts in the storage room...?"
"Oh, I sure hope there are" Barbatos said. "Otherwise I will have some explaining to do..."

“Dad,” she aggressively shoved the bottle of sunscreen into his hand, “Dad just put it on.”
“No,” Tig tossed it over onto the towel, “I’m not putting that on. I don’t need it. I’ll be fine.”
Rolling her eyes, she picked the bottle back up. She squeezed a generous amount onto her hand and then proceeded to slap it onto his chest, “You’re tough but you’re not tougher than the fucking sun. Get over yourself.”
He groaned as he looked down at the mess of lotion that was on him now, “You fucking kidding me, T?”
“Nope,” she shook her head as she rubbed some into her own arms and legs.
Once she was done, she looked around to see who else was close. She loved all the boys in the club, but she would be the first to tell them all when they were being idiots. She was adamant about the whole sunscreen thing ever since they all decided to do a beach day together. The guys had given her shit about it at first, wondering when she became so concerned with those kinds of things, but when it came down to it the last thing they wanted was the pain that came from serious sunburn. So, most of them silently put some on, refusing to make eye contact with each other and acknowledge the situation.
“Kozik!” she called over to the man who was laying out towels for each of them.
His head whipped up, instantly looking over at her, “Yea?”
“You got some on?” she waved the bottle in his direction.
“Let him get burned,” Tig mumbled under his breath as he wiped away the last of the lotion that his daughter had caught him with.
Tawnie ignored the comment, shaking her head slightly as she waited for Kozik’s answer. He made his way over to her, reassuring her that, yes, he had put some on the second they got to the beach. He knew that there was no way she was going to let him get away with anything else, and she was the last person that he wanted to be pissing off.
“Can you get my back?” she asked as she handed him the bottle, pulling her hair out of the way.
“Um,” he could feel Tig’s eyes boring into him, “sure.”
Kozik silently prayed to whatever gods there were that Tig wasn’t going to pick him up and drown him in the ocean. He tried to focus on the task at hand, but he also wondered if that would make things worse. And she must’ve sense the tension, too, because she glanced back over her shoulder and looked at her father, eyebrows raised.
“You want him to get your back too, Dad?” she asked.
Kozik’s entire body froze up as he waited for the fallout. Surprisingly enough, Tig just sighed and shook his head before turning and walking down towards the water, “Those hands go below her shoulders and you’re a fucking dead man, Kozik.”
She chuckled quietly as he finished applying the sunscreen, “He’s full of it. You know that, right?”
“You sound pretty confident but I’m not so sure,” he chuckled as he closed the bottle and tossed it back into her bag.
“If he was going to kill you, he totally would have done it already.”
“That’s…that’s not as reassuring as you think it is.”
She laughed as she pressed her palms flat against his chest and pressed a light kiss to his lips, “Just relax. Who knows when we’re going to be able to all have a fun day together.”
“And what are you going to spend your fun day doing? Besides assaulting people with sunblock?”
She gave him a playful shove, “Shut up. I’m gonna go fucking swimming, duh. I haven’t been to the beach in ages,” she paused, tilting her head slightly, “What’re you gonna do?”
“Watch you swim,” a smirk crept across his face.
She couldn’t stop herself from laughing. It’d been an interesting, and slightly bumpy, road for the two of them to get to where they were at now. But she was happy about it, about him. And despite the constant pushback from her father, there was a certain type of ease and comfort that came from being with him. She knew that she wouldn’t have ever been able to be with someone who didn’t understand the type of life she lived, and no one understood it better than a man who was actually SAMCRO. But as she stood there looking at him, smiling with a few streaks of sunscreen still on his cheeks, he was more than just a guy from the MC. She never knew what it felt like to date someone who was your best friend until then.
She snapped herself out of her sappy thoughts with a shake of her head, “Don’t let my dad catch you leering.”
“I thought you said he was full of it?”
“I mean,” she laughed as she skipped off towards the water, “nothing is a hundred percent.”
He shook his head and watched her as she took off to go swim and cause whatever kinds of trouble she could manage to stir up along the way. Being with a Trager was a lot of things, but it was certainly never boring.
The afternoon sun was beating down on all of them. Most of them had found their way back to their chairs and towels and started digging into the food and drinks that they had brought with them. Tawnie was camped out on her towel, watching the volleyball game that was happening. Her father and Opie were pitted against Jax and Kozik, and to all of their credit it was shaping up to be a pretty competitive game. But she did notice the fact that Tig’s shoulders were getting redder and redder as the minutes went by—clearly he hadn’t put any extra sunscreen on except what she had forced on him. She shook her head silently, a smug smile creeping across her face. He’d have to learn the hard way, the way that he did with most things.
“Game point!” she called out before taking a sip of her beer.
“Better win this one for your girl, Kozik,” Jax quipped with a laugh.
She chuckled but she could see it on her father’s face that he was not at all amused by the comment. He dove, saving the ball from hitting the sand. There was now a new level of determination and desire to win. He never wanted Kozik to win at anything, but now there was an extra layer on top of it all.
The four of them were going back and forth for a while. Tawnie sat back, unable to hide the fact that she was incredibly impressed by them. Her eyes went wide when she saw Kozik jump up, spiking the ball down onto the other side of the net with an incredible amount of force. She couldn’t contain her laughter as she started clapping.
“Way to bring it home!” she beamed over at him.
“Lucky shot,” Tig said, already shaking his head.
Despite the tension that had been present during the game, once it was over everything went back to business as usual, which Tawnie was incredibly thankful for.
Tig was walking ahead, talking to Jax and Opie while she hung back with Kozik. She slipped her hand into his as they walked, smiles on both of their faces.
“You think it’s alright that I didn’t let him win?” he asked with a smirk.
She laughed, nodding, “It’s good for him. I’m thinking of it as karma for not using sunblock.”
“I think the blisters that are gonna be on his shoulders tomorrow will be karma enough.”
“Maybe,” she laughed, leaning against his side.
He glanced down at her, admiring her still-damp hair and the little patches of sand that were still stuck to parts of her stomach and arms. She looked so at home at the beach, and he had never felt more at home than when he felt her pressed up against his side.
“We should do this shit more often,” he said as they walked along the shore, waves lapping at their feet.
“Yea, well,” she chuckled, “When you guys take a break from your life of crime, we can do big family beach days whenever you want.”
“I’ll bring it up in church next time.”
She laughed, “Well,” she lifted their interlocked hands and kissed his knuckles, “you gotta let me know how that conversation goes.”
“If I live through it, you’ll be the first to know,” he smiled as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
The sound of Tig’s voice cut through the softness of their moment, “Hey! I said no hands below the shoulders!”

“Dude, is this really necessary?”
Stacie hums. “It’s French fashion.”
Beca rolls her eyes. “I feel like if that were true, we would have seen some people wearing it by now. This just screams ‘I’m an American tourist’ to me.”
Stacie ignores her, adjusting the beret over her head as she stands in front of the mirror. “I think I look sexy with this. Very… chic.”
“Great. If you decide to walk around with that and a baguette under your arm I’m going solo on our tour.”
Stacie plucks another beret from the shelf and screws it over Beca’s head. “Aw, you look like Gavroche.”
“Fuck you, dude,” Beca mutters, taking it off and flattening her hair with her palm as she places the hat back in its initial spot. “I’m hungry.”
“You’re always hungry,” Stacie points out, and Beca can’t really contradict her.
Once Stacie has finally picked one of those ridiculous hats, they head up the cobblestone street and find themselves a brasserie (one of those restaurants where you can get just a drink or have a full meal) for lunch. It’s pretty hot (a bit too hot for Beca’s taste, but she’s hopefully applied enough sunscreen not to resemble a lobster by the end of the day) in Paris that day, but they find shelter under one of those huge parasols, a gentle breeze sweeping in ever so often as they gaze at the food options.
Melodic giggles draw Beca’s focus away from the badly translated menu and towards two tables over to her left. They belong to a redhead, who just happens to be as radiant as her laughter, and Beca finds herself staring a beat too long, catching Stacie’s attention.
“She’s cute.”
Beca’s cheeks heat up as soon as she realizes she’s been caught, and she looks back at her menu so quickly something in her neck twitches. She clears her throat. “What are you talking about?”
“Aww, you adorable baby bisexual. You should go talk to her. Or buy her a drink.”
“Dude, no,” Beca hisses.
Stacie is silent for a few beats, clearly listening in. “She’s American.”
Beca makes a noncommittal sound. “And?”
Stacie leans over, a smirk curving her lips. “Imagine how romantic it would be, you two meeting in Paris and finding each other again in the States. That’s Nicholas Sparks shit right here.”
Beca finds Stacie’s eyes over the menu. “You seem to have forgotten a slight detail: I don’t know how to talk to women.”
Stacie’s eyes roll skyward. “Maybe you should try.”
The waiter thankfully puts a temporary end to the conversation, and once he’s gone with their orders, Beca sees that so is the redhead and her friend.
“Well, there goes your Parisian romance,” Stacie says, sighing softly.
Beca doesn’t really think about the stranger again, not until the end of the day. Stacie insists on heading to the Eiffel Tower to catch the sunset (and probably take a bunch of pictures for her influencer Instagram account), and Beca ignores her aching feet, feeling like she’s already been complaining a lot today.
“Hi there.”
Beca twists her head to the left to find the stranger from the cafe. Her blue eyes nearly make her stumble. “Um, hi?”
“So this might sound really weird, but I’ve always wanted a romantic picture in front of the Eiffel Tower and my boyfriend just dumped me before this trip and well, I was wondering if you’d pose with me?”
That’s a lot of information in five seconds, and Beca blinks twice in slow succession. “Pose, as in…?”
“As in, kiss me?”
She hears Stacie gasp beside her and doesn’t even want to spare her a glance. Her ears feel like they just caught on fire and her voice is nowhere to be found.
It’s only when Stacie jabs her elbow into her ribs that Beca says something. “I, uh, I-- what?”
Well, close to saying something.
The other woman giggles. “You’re really cute. And I asked if you’d like to take a photo with me.”
“Kissing,” Beca echoes, just to make sure.
The redhead grimaces. “Sorry, you’re totes creeped out. I’ll find someone else.”
“She’ll do it,” Stacie announces before Beca can say anything else.
“What, dude,” Beca interjects.
“If you don’t I will,” Stacie mutters, and that shoves Beca into motion.
“Um yeah, sure,” she tells the stranger. A shaky nod. “I’ll do it.”
“Awes!” She hands Stacie her phone. “My friend Aubrey can take the pic.”
Beca notices the blonde standing off to the side and waves awkwardly before her friend slides her hand into hers and tugs her forward. Beca’s heart starts to race a little as they come to a stop at the top of the stairs splaying out over the Trocadero gardens.
“Wait, what’s your name?” The stranger asks, seemingly as an afterthought.
“Um, Beca,” Beca says.
“Nice to meet you, Beca. I’m Chloe.”
Beca nods, tongue poking out to wet her lips. “Cool. Cool, cool, cool. So um,” she wipes her hands over her jeans. “How should we…”
“I’ll just kiss you now,” Chloe says, amusement clear in her tone.
Beca wants to dig herself a hole. But that thought vanishes as soon as Chloe starts leaning in, and her eyes slam shut the moment those soft, full lips brush against hers in a gentle kiss. She hears herself humming as her head tilts forward to chase the remaining distance between them, pushing a firmer kiss against Chloe’s mouth. It’s Chloe’s turn to make a sound this time, and Beca nearly forgets her own name.
She instantly forgets about the photo, and the fact that Chloe is a stranger, too caught up in how good this feels to really care. She does, however, come to her senses when she starts to lack oxygen and pulls away with a sheepish smile, her cheeks flaming.
“Damn…” Chloe murmurs, eyes alight. “I picked well.”
Beca clears her throat and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear, avoiding her eyes. “Glad I could be of service,” she mumbles with an awkward salute.
(yes, yes, a goddamn salute because she’s a fucking dork.)
Chloe giggles and Beca suddenly feels high on the sound. “Too bad my friend and I have to leave tonight. I could have definitely gone for an encore performance.”
Beca isn’t sure how redder her face can get before it matches the shade of her plaid shirt. “That’s uh, too bad.”
“Well thanks for doing it for me,” Chloe says with a wink, then kisses her cheek. “Bye, Beca.”
“Bye,” Beca murmurs, somewhat still in a kiss-induced daze as she watches her go.
“Holy crap, dude,” Stacie says when she catches up with her. “You totally made out with her.”
Beca chuckles, rubbing the back of her neck. “We um, got carried away?”
Stacie punches her arm. “Tell me you got her number.”
Beca shakes her head. “She probably lives like, in LA or something.”
“Oh my god, you’re such an idiot.”
Beca has to agree; she’s the biggest idiot in the world.
The rest of their trip goes smoothly. Beca only has to listen to Stacie having sex once, which is a wonder, considering it’s Stacie, and the two fly back to New York at the end of the week, heads filled with good memories of their trip abroad.
“I still can’t believe you didn’t ask for her number,” Stacie says as they walk out of the arrival gate at JFK.
“Oh my god, would you let it go?” Beca groans, tilting her head back.
“She was so hot.”
“I know,” Beca whines. “But I won’t find her again so let’s just not talk about it anymore.”
“Fine.”
It’s a few days later, as she’s aimlessly scrolling through TikTok as she does every night before bed, that Beca sees it. She almost scrolls past it because ugh, couples, but the yellow summer dress and red hair catch her attention and have her sitting up with a jolt. Her breathes hitches in her throat as she reads the caption:
I hope this cute girl I met in Paris and asked for a pic of us kissing so I could pretend I had a romantic time in France sees this so I can take her out on a date
The video blew up, counting over a million likes and fifteen thousand comments. Her trembling thumb presses on the comment section.
Okay, TikTok, do your thing, we need to find this girl!!
Omg they’re so cute
Imagine they find each other!!
Beca swallows, licking her suddenly dry lips. “Imagine…” she breathes out as she presses on Chloe’s profile picture, hits follow, and then taps Message.
Hey, so… it’s Beca. The girl from Paris?
She locks her phone right after hitting send and buries her face in her palms, emitting a low groan. Her phone pinging less than a minute later makes her heart pound against her ribs. She reaches for it and peeks at the screen with one eye.
omg, hi!! it’s really you?
She figures maybe a few people have sent Chloe a message because hello, who wouldn’t, pretending it was her. So Beca thinks proving it is really her could be a good thing.
If by me you mean the dork who freaking saluted you after our kiss, yep that’s me.
Beca bites down on her bottom lip as she watches the three dots pop up on the screen.
I can’t believe it worked! I’ve been thinking about you a lot since that day.
Butterflies go off in her belly, and before Beca can ponder on how cheesy this is, she’s typing something back.
Me too. That was um, a really good kiss. And you’re pretty.
Oh god, I’m facepalming so hard right now. Sorry I… don’t really know how to talk to girls.
To her surprise, Chloe doesn’t seem put off by it.
You’re very cute. May I ask where you live?
Beca doesn’t want to get her hopes up, because the States are fucking huge, and she doesn’t see herself jumping into a long-distance whatever.
NYC. You?
I go to vet school in Ithaca.
Ithaca. Beca knows it’s in the state, but she googles how close just to make sure. Another message from Chloe comes through.
I’m usually in the city once a month since my best friend lives there. Would you… like to go out on a date when I’m around?
“Dude, chill out,” she mutters to herself when she feels a wave of warmth encompass her entire being.
Sure, yeah. I’d like that.
They exchange numbers and end up texting for most of the evening until Chloe announces she has to head to bed because she has an early lecture the following morning.
Beca is about to turn off the lights too, that idiotic smile still stuck to her lips, when her phone buzzes with a text message from Stacie.
DUDE!!! Watch this NOW
A TikTok link follows, and Beca knows what it is before she even opens it.
Wow. This really blew up, huh.
Stacie’s reply comes through less than five seconds later. That’s all you have to say?! Tell me you’re going to message her. I got dibs on Maid of Honor at your wedding, btw.
Beca rolls her eyes. She ponders telling Stacie but decides to keep Chloe to herself for a while. I’ll think about it.
She’s a fidgeting mess the morning leading up to their date. Chloe told her to meet her by the River Cafe in Dumbo, and Beca has spent entirely too much time deciding on what to wear, which really never happens.
Chloe is already there when she makes it to the park, and Beca buries her hands into her jacket pockets to keep them from wringing together. Chloe doesn’t see her right away, gazing up at the Brooklyn Bridge instead.
“Do you have a thing for iconic iron monuments?” She teases as she approaches, catching Chloe’s attention. She narrows her eyes playfully. “Are you gonna try and kiss me again?” A gasp flies past her lips as she exaggeratedly lies a hand over her chest. “Are you just using me to go viral on TikTok?”
Chloe giggles. “You’re a dork,” she says, grinning. “Hi.”
“Hey,” Beca breathes out, relaxing her shoulders as she smiles back.
“You like ice cream?” Chloe asks, nodding towards the vendor across the grassy area.
“Sure,” Beca says, and they fall into a step towards it. She takes her brain for something to say before things get awkward, but Chloe beats her to it.
“So what’s it like being a TikTok sensation?”
Beca barks out a laugh. “Amazing. One of my life goals for sure,” she jokes, cutting Chloe an amused glance.
Chloe giggles. “I honestly didn’t think it would blow up. But I’m glad it did ‘cause not finding you would have sucked.”
Beca clears her throat, looking down for a second. “Me too. I was really beating myself up for not asking for your number back in Paris.”
Chloe’s lips curve in a small smile, and she looks like she’s about to say something, but it’s their turn to order.
Ice creams in hand, they settle down on the grass to enjoy them. The weather is nice, not too hot with a gentle breeze rolling by once in a while.
“So what are some of your life goals, then?” Chloe asks once they’ve sat down.
“Making a living out of music is the main one,” she says. “I work as assistant producer right now, but the job is pretty crappy.”
“I may or may not have stalked your Instagram,” Chloe admits next. “You have an amazing voice.”
“Oh,” Beca lets out, feeling her cheeks heat up. “Thanks.” She clears her throat. “You’re into music?” Strangely something that hadn’t come up during their texting.
Chloe nods, smiling. “I was in an acapella group in college.”
Beca’s eyebrows shoot up, and she laughs before she can help herself. “Wait, seriously? You’re an acapella nerd?”
Chloe shoves her shoulder, laughing as well. “Shut up.”
“I guess we all make questionable choices in college, huh?”
Chloe huffs, throwing Beca a glare. Beca spots a sprinkle of amusement in her eyes, so she doesn’t think Chloe is truly mad.
“I’m just messing with you,” she says, softening. “I think any kind of music is neat. And singing without instruments is actually pretty impressive.”
“Thanks,” Chloe says lightly. “There’s just… something about music, you know. It soothes the soul and makes you escape the real world for a few minutes.”
A genuine smile curves Beca’s lips. It’s exactly how she would describe what music does to her. “Yeah.”
She eyes Chloe’s profile, still a little bit struck over the fact that this gorgeous girl is on a date with her.
“What?” Chloe asks with curiosity swirling in her eyes when she catches Beca staring.
Beca blinks. “Nothing. I…” she clears her throat. “You’re just really pretty.” She scrunches up her nose. “See? I’m awkward as fuck.”
Chloe chuckles and slides her hand into Beca’s free one. “I think it’s cute.”
Beca grumbles. “I’m not cute, I’m badass.”
Their time together flies by as they learn more about one another, Beca even managing to convince Chloe to show her some acapella videos. The sun sets without either realizing and the park is near empty, save for a couple strolling by in the distance.
“I should head back to Aubrey’s,” Chloe says when it gets a bit chillier. “I said I’d be home for dinner.”
Beca is a bit disappointed, but she nods, smiling. “Okay.”
She pushes to her feet and helps Chloe to hers, her eyes dropping to Chloe’s lips once they’re both standing.
“You know… I didn’t really care about the video,” Chloe murmurs, stepping closer. “I saw you at the restaurant and thought you were really cute. When I spotted you again later, I had to think of something.”
Beca raises an eyebrow. “I noticed you at the restaurant, too.”
“I know. You weren’t being very subtle.”
Beca huffs. “Shut up.”
Chloe simply laughs, her eyes sweeping down to Beca’s lips before she leans in. Beca is a lot less nervous this time around, and she hums as those familiar lips glide over hers flawlessly, her hands bunching up in Chloe’s top as she holds her waist. It’s over way too soon for her liking, but she has to remind herself they’re in public, and how she’ll probably get to do that again very soon.
“See you soon?” Chloe murmurs when they part, brushing her nose against Beca’s.
Beca nods and squeezes her waist. “Yeah.”
With one last kiss, she watches Chloe go in a similar state of a daze as in Paris.
Something tells her this is the start of something amazing.

Worse Ways To Die - Oscar “Spooky” Diaz
s
Tumblr media
Pairing: Oscar “Spooky” Diaz x reader
Requested: By @mrs-spookyd1az
Prompts: None.
Warnings/notes: Possessive, cranky Oscar! Not proofread so I apologize in advance for any possible mistakes. Please let me know what you think, I hope that you like it xx
Wordcount: 3724
Summary: Ruby and Jamal can’t keep their eyes off of you at the pool and Oscar has too much fun with it. However, he doesn’t find it as funny when strangers look at you.
The time Oscar had both dreaded and hoped for his entire life had come; his dad had been released from prison and come back home.
Cesar was, of course, over the moon to finally get to know his dad, but Oscar, being the one who had been first-hand abandoned to raise his younger brother, was furious and hurt. And you… Living with the Diaz brothers permanently, you didn’t really know how to feel.
The atmosphere in the house wasn’t at all what you were used to. It wasn’t playful and loving anymore. It was tense and hostile, and most of all confusing.
In an attempt to cut down the negative feelings you tried your best to be civil with Ray no matter how angry you were about how bad he had hurt Oscar, but still tried to keep him out of the loop as much as you possibly could in order to make things comfortable for your boyfriend.
He had only been home for a few days, and he and Oscar had already had more fights than you could count on two hands.
You tried your best to help resolve things and find a middle ground for them when they just refused to co-operate, but at the end of the day, no matter if you were the long-term girlfriend of Oscar, it wasn’t any of your business so you didn’t pretend like it was by getting yourself mixed up into their conflicts.
The only thing you could do was be there for him, open your arms to him when he needed you and listen to his rants and make sure he knew that his feelings were justified and validated.
He had been a lot less openly loving toward you since Ray’s return, but you knew it was only because he was still trying to figure out what to feel, and you knew it wasn’t because of you. He was tense and irritated against pretty much anyone these days, and you were the only thing keeping him from blowing up.
He wasn’t just angry that he had waltzed back into their lives as if nothing had ever happened, however. More than anything, he was jealous of the way Cesar looked at him, like he was some kind of hero, despite the fact that it was he who had given up in his dreams to raise him.
You really felt his pain when you had to watch him watch them interact. More than anything, you wanted to sit Cesar down and tell him all of the things Oscar had ever done for him and compare them to all of the things Ray hadn’t, but you knew you couldn’t do that.
He needed to figure it out on his own, even if the only way to do so meant he would get his heart crushed like Oscar had all those years ago. It wouldn’t be pretty, but it would be necessary.
Today was one of the few days Cesar wasn’t attached at the hip with his dad.
You and Oscar had been sitting around in the kitchen when Cesar had emerged from his bedroom dressed in a tank and short, with a towel slung over his shoulder, telling you he was heading for the pool.
And in a last-moment decision and desperate attempt to connect with his mano again – although he would never admit it - Oscar had decided that you would go with him. And it was a good idea, as it would mean Oscar could relax some.
So, now here you were, getting out of the car that you had just parked outside the pool.
Cesar was the first one to get out, barely even sparing you a glance before heading off, going ahead to meet up with his friends inside.
While he hurried away, you and Oscar took your time, hands intertwined and swinging slowly between your bodies as you walked toward the entrance at a slow pace, your things packed into a bag that was slung across Oscar’s shoulder.
To avoid having to change inside the locker rooms, you were already dressed in your bikini, having thrown on a simple tank top and a pair on top for the car ride.
Oscar was already dressed too, in his black swimming trunks, a pair of flipflops and a blank t-shirt, so the only thing inside the bag hanging from his shoulder were two towels, your book and sunscreen. You didn’t really need much more for a day at the pool.
A minute later, you were walking through the people inside, heading straight for the spot where Cesar and the others had set up camp.
Jamal and Ruby were sitting in sunchairs, seemingly handing out sandwiches in exchange for money. Jasmine was sitting in the sun and Monse was doing the same, although lying down on a towel, and Cesar was sitting beside her, now only dressed in his shorts.
Cesar wasted no time in raising a hand in a wave, smiling at you as you approached even though you had seen him only two minutes ago. His wave alerted the others of your presence, their eyes averting to you.
“Sup, fools.” Oscar was the first to talk, dropping the bag down on the ground a meter away from them, claiming the spot as yours and barely sparing them a glance as he opened the bag and grabbed the towels, starting to put them down on the ground for you.
While he busied himself with that, you took the time to greet them more properly, smiling at them and raising your hand in a wave. “Hey, guys.”
Jasmine and Monse greeted you from their spots and Cesar smiled, while Jamal and Ruby stared at you with looks that you could only describe as the ones the guys in high school used to give you when they overestimated their game when trying to get in your pants.
It was much cuter when it was Jamal and Ruby, though. They were younger than you and it wasn’t a secret that they both harbored some kind of horny teenage crush on you, something Oscar wasn’t all too fond of.
But you found it adorable, and amusing more than anything.
Jamal puckered his lips out slightly, without a doubt in an attempt to make himself more attractive, while Ruby gave you a confident head-nod, a lazy smirk playing on his lips. “Sup, mamita.” The overly cocky boy greeted you, and you couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow in surprise.
You knew he had the hots for you but that wasn’t at all what you had expected. Still, an amused expression fell upon both yours and Cesar’s faces as you exchanged a glance.
But Oscar didn’t find it half as amusing, looking up from the bag and raising a challenging eyebrow, dropping the bag again and standing back up to his full height. “You trying to move in on my girl, pequeño?”
Ruby and Jamal widen their eyes, share a glance before looking back to your boyfriend and shaking their heads violently.
“No, no, I wouldn’t even think about hitting on your girl, Osca- Mr. Spooky, sir. She’s yours.” Ruby quickly defended himself, and Jamal rapidly nodded his head.
“He would never!” He agreed.
Oscar gave them an amused smirk, nodding his head. “That’s right. She’s mine, and if I see you little putas checking her out-“
“We would never!” Jamal repeated, a feign shocked look on his face and their eyes as big as saucers at this point.
“No!” Ruby joined in. “We don’t even find her attractive!”
Jamal’s head whipped around to his best friend and his hand flew out to slap him on his shoulder as a disapproving sound left his lips.
Oscar’s eyebrows shot up, eyes narrowing into slits and his feet taking him a step closer to the two boys. “Are you calling mi reina ugly?”
Jamal let out a sound resembling a whine, pushing himself back into his chair while Ruby was left to fend for himself. “No!” He quickly denied. “She’s really hot! I mean beautiful, I mean, she’s not our type.” He cleared his throat toward the end, trying to play it cool.
“She’s everyone’s type.” A feign offended look overcame Oscar’s face again, causing the panic to return to Ruby and Jamal’s in an instant.
“I-“
You couldn’t deny the exchange was funny as hell to witness, your boyfriend’s teasing making it hard for you to keep your laughter in. But you managed to hold it back in the end and hit him in the back of his head at the sight of the genuinely terrified looks on their faces, swallowing your laughter.
“Oscar, stop messing with them.” You scolded in a lighthearted manner and he turned to you, giving you a smirk while the two boys were still looking about ready to piss themselves.
They didn’t relax until Oscar turned his back on them, turning his attention elsewhere.
He grabbed the end of his tank top and pulled it over his head without another word, sitting down on one of the towels, the one closest to the boys.
You followed his example and sat down, still dressed in your clothes, and grabbed the sunscreen from the bag, popping the lid open and nudging your boyfriend’s arm.
“Turn around.” You instructed, causing him to turn his head to look at you.
He spotted the pink bottle in your hand and instantly shook his head, turning his head back forward stubbornly. “No. You’re not putting that shit on me.” He refused. “It smells like flowers.”
Rolling your eyes, you ignored him, pouring some into your palm and rubbing your hands together. “You know you burn easily.” You argued. “Stop being a perra and turn around, or I’m leaving.”
Glancing at you, he scoffed, but didn’t protest any further, turning his back to you. “Puta.” He swore.
In return, you slapped your sunscreen-covered hands onto his back, smirking when he flinched from the cold. “Pendejo.”
“Pineapple.” Came the voice of Jamal from beside Oscar and the two of you, along with everyone else, turned to look at him with raised eyebrows, causing him to look around at you, confused. “What? I thought we were naming things starting with P.”
“Idiot.” Cesar laughed and you just shook your head, starting to rub the sunscreen into the skin of Oscar’s back, shoulders and arms.
He wouldn’t admit it out loud, but despite the fact that the lotion smelled like an old lady, he enjoyed the feeling of your hands kneading his tense muscles. His eyes closed and his forehead leaned on his arms that were in turn resting on top of his knees.
Once your hands were close to dry and every inch of his upper body had been covered, you pressed a kiss to his neck and turned to his younger brother who was sitting a small distance away with a smile.
“Do you want me to do your back, too?” You asked, the motherly instinct coming automatically at this point. You had, after all, helped care for him ever since you met Oscar.
Cesar smiled and nodded his head. “Sure.” He said and stood up, walking over to where you were sitting.
You scooted back to make room for him in front of you on your towel and smirked at Oscar, who was already looking at you, when his little brother sat down with no protest.
You raised an eyebrow. “You see that?” You asked, squirting some more sunscreen into your palm and repeating the procedure. “Your brother doesn’t complain like a little bitch.”
Oscar shook his head in annoyance, standing back up. “Whatever. I’m hitting the pool. You coming?” He looked down at you, and you shook your head with a smile, not taking his attitude to heart.
“I’ll be there in a bit.” You promised, finishing putting the sunscreen on Cesar and putting the bottle back down into the bag. “I want to lay in the sun for a bit first.”
He nodded his head, leaning down to give you a quick peck to the lips before walking away.
Cesar stood up too, going back to his spot beside Monse, and you took that as the perfect time to undress, standing up and beginning to unbutton your shorts.
Beside you, Ruby’s hand immediately flew down to his crotch where he adjusted his shorts, his eyes flickering between you and the pool repeatedly. “Oh no, it’s happening.”
Jamal, also trying his hardest to avert his gaze hit his friend upside the head. “Control yourself, be strong!”
But he was fucked too when he glanced back to you only to see you pulling your tank top over your head, your stomach toned as you stretched your arms up, the real goods being revealed.
“Oh no.” He whimpered, and Jasmine glared at them from her spot.
“You guys, don’t be disrespectful.” She scolded them in a hushed voiced, keeping it low as to not draw your attention where you were now busying yourself with smearing sunscreen over your chest.
The two boys didn’t even seem to hear her, their mouths falling agape and their eyes widening at the sight.
Cesar watched the scene unfold from his spot, shaking his head with amusement, knowing that his brother would quite literally kill them if he came back right then.
So he took matters into his own hands, deciding to protect his eventually-to-be sister-in-law from the prying eyes of his friends by throwing one of his flipflops at them, causing them to look at him just as you turned your attention back to them.
“Who wants to do my back?” You questioned with a bright smile, holding the bottle up for all to see and being completely oblivious to what had just been happening.
Jamal and Ruby were up on their feet in no time, their hands stretching into the air. “Me!” They spoke simultaneously, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
“I’ll do it.” Cesar stood up before they could say anything else, walking over to where you were standing and shoving his friends back into their seats as he passed them.
You thanked him when he took the bottle from you, pulling your hair over your shoulder and holding your arms over your breasts to keep your top in place as Cesar undid the knot at your back and wasted no time in starting to put on the sunscreen.
He was pretty much the only one who could touch you without Oscar throwing a fit, he knew, so even though they would be mad at him for a week for robbing them of the opportunity to touch you, he had just done them a huge favor.
Lifesaving, really.
Once he finished doing your back, he tied your top back up and you adjusted the front before turning to smile at him. “Gracias.” You thanked him, kissing his cheek, and he nodded with a smile of his own.
He only got the time to make his way back to his original spot before you were approached by some other guy, the stranger waltzing up to you with pure confidence in his step.
Kind as you were, you smiled at him, thinking he was just going to pass by, but instead, he stopped right in front of you, causing you to raise an eyebrow.
“Yes?”
The guy raised a hand to scratch his neck, looking at you from through his sunglasses. “I’m sorry if this is extremely forward but I saw you from across the pool and just thought you were so beautiful, I couldn’t stay away. Would it be possible to get your number?”
He flashed a near-flawless smile, but of course, it wasn’t Oscar’s. Now, his smile could make you weak at the knees.
You offered him a sad smile back. “No, I’m sorry. I have a boyfriend.” You answered. “But I’m flattered.”
Letting people down was always hard for you. Not because you were interested or felt bad for them, but because you hated being put in awkward positions. Luckily, this guy didn’t seem to be a creep, but rather a decent human being, which always made things easier.
His face fell. “Oh, damn.” He swore, letting his hand drop from his neck. “Where is he now then? Your boyfriend, I mean.”
“He’s… around.” You told him, not even sure yourself. The place was crowded on this hot day and he could have been anywhere. “And he’s really protective so you should go before he comes back.” You added, knowing that Oscar would make a bigger deal out of it than needed if he came back and found you talking to some other guy.
And just your luck, he chose just this time to return, his form appearing behind the guy and heading straight for you, a glare already resting on his face and his fists clenched at his sides, showing you that he had already caught sight of you.
“Yeah, actually you should go right now.” Jamal agreed with a nervous laugh, looking behind him.
As everyone else’s eyes also found Oscar’s quickly approaching form, the guy you still hadn’t learned the name of turned around too, eyes growing wide with anxiety as he caught sight of the tall and muscular cholo coming straight for him.
“Who’s this?” Oscar wasted no time in getting up in his face as he reached you. “Who are you? Were you talking to my girl? Because we’re gonna have a problem if you were, blanco.”
You hurried to step in between them, the guy taking a step back out of fear. “He was just leaving.” You told him, holding him in place.
The guy nodded his head, agreeing with you and taking another step back. “Yeah, man. I’m sorry.” He turned to you then, offering you a quick nervous smile. “It was nice to meet you.”
Returning his smile, you nodded, fastening your grip on Oscar’s arms as he jerked forward slightly. “It was nice to meet you, too. Bye.”
And with that, he turned around and walked away.
Oscar’s eyes followed his form all the way until he was out of his line of sight, and once he was gone, he tore himself out of your grip, his body dripping with water.
“Nice to meet you, huh?” He questioned with a glare. “You interested in other guys now?”
You only rolled your eyes, far too used to his jealous behavior. And it was even more understandable now with the anger he was building up with his dad being back. “Calm down. I’m not worried about you having side chicks so you shouldn’t either.”
“Bitch, the only side chicks I’ll ever have is your other personalities.” He fired back.
“Funny.” You glared, not batting an eye at the insult. “Calm down before you do something you regret.”
He glared back, taking a step closer to you and taking you into his arms. “I think I might need some motivation not to kill anyone.” He said, nuzzling his face into your neck.
The glare on your face instantly fell and a chuckle left your lips at the feeling of his beard tickling your skin. “I can’t fuck you if you’re in prison, papi.” You answered, hands coming up to hold on to his upper arms while his roamed your waist, the two of you not caring in the slightest that you were in public.
Ruby and Jamal watched from behind you, now munching on a sandwich each in a desperate attempt to keep their cool, eyes wide as your words reached their ears.
“God, that’s hot.”
Oscar’s face instantly whipped up from your neck, eyes landing on Ruby at the sound of his voice, the two boys jumping in their seats and letting out sounds of surprise.
But you were right behind him, raising one of your hands to grab a hold of his chin and turning his head to look at you with a glare. “What’d I tell you, huh? Leave them alone.” You instructed, feeling his body tense against yours.
You leaned in and pecked his lips chastely, moving your hands to his where they were resting on the small of your back and prying them away, taking them in yours.
“Let’s go for a swim.” You said, and he said nothing, simply letting you drag him away from the younglings.
As you walked away, his hand found its way down to your ass, squeezing the flesh while glaring at Jamal and Ruby over his shoulder.
The two of them watched with wide eyes, unable to tear their eyes away from his no matter how scared they were, and their eyes only widened further when Oscar raised his other hand to his eyes and used his pointer and middle finger to do an ‘I see you’-gesture at them.
Noticing what he was doing, you slapped his chest and forced him to turn back forward, and only then did Ruby and Jamal let out the breaths they had no idea they had been holding until then, the sight causing Cesar to break out into laughter.
They turned to him, both of them sporting a furious glare each. “How can you be laughing right now?!” Ruby exclaimed, eyes struck with fear. “He’s going to kill us!”
Cesar only nodded as his laughter died down to an easy chuckle, his eyebrows raising in agreement. “If you keep looking at (Y/N) like she’s a piece of meat then yeah, probably. And it won’t be painless.”
“Oh, man.” Jamal cried, forcing the entirety of the rest of his sandwich into his mouth, causing the rest of his words to come out muffled. “I’m too young to die.”
For the first time that entire time, Monse, who had been sunbathing peacefully on her towel alongside Jasmine, sat up and removed her sunglasses, looking at them.
“Well, there’s a simple solution.” She deadpanned, holding herself up on her elbows.
Jamal and Ruby turned to her with a mixture of doubt and desperation in their eyes, asking. “What?”
She simply shrugged her shoulders, giving them a sarcastic and annoyed smile. “Just don’t look.” She answered, and with that, put her sunglasses on again and laid back down, leaving the boys to look at Cesar, who simply gave them a shrug and grin in agreement.
They knew it was the only solution, but for two horny teenage boys, keeping their eyes to themselves was easier said than done, and at second thought, maybe it wouldn’t be the worst way to die.

Chapter 1 / Chapter 2 / Chapter 3
•••
Somehow the universe was on my side for once. Once I got home, I noticed I had a new text message. I was surprised to see that it was from Walter. He asked if I got home safe. What a gentleman.
I figured he just wanted to make sure I got home safe, I didn’t think too much of it. If anything, I didn’t think we would end up texting each other for three days in a row. Did I wish that would happen? Yes. Did I actually believe it could happen? Definitely no. I wasn’t the only one who couldn’t believe it.
“Have you been texting with him again last night?” Gia asked when she saw me yawn and stretch my arms out above me. We were having a slow morning at work, and this was the third time she showed up at my desk.
“Maybe,” I smirked. Even though it started a little awkward, we were still texting. After I had texted him back that I got home safe, and he send a thumbs up emoji, it was silent for a moment. I had thought about what I could possibly text him next. I grabbed my phone to compose a text when a new message already popped up.
Walter: Still sure you want to live here?
A smile had formed on my face. He thinks he is funny huh. I was wondering what I could text back, and I thought to myself: what would I tell my friends to text back in a situation like this? Normally, I would never listen to my own flirting advice, but at that moment, I did.
Melody: Might stick around. Heard the detectives in town are quite something.
Since then, we had been texting constantly. Alright, maybe not constantly, we were both busy during the day, but we spend a good amount of the late evening texting. We got to know each other a little better. I told him about my family, and I shared a few awkward stories. For example, I told him about the time I was too stubborn to put on sunscreen during the summer, and I got sunburned to bad, I would never forget to apply it ever again. I still apply it every day, even in the winter.
In return he told me all about the shenanigans he pulled as a kid, and that he had a kid himself, Faye. At first, I was a little bit surprised, but then I figured we would have a babysitter once we would get children. Mel, get it together. You are not even dating him, you don’t even know if he likes you and you are already thinking about having children with him?! Our kids would look damn cute though..
“Earth to Mel! Stop daydreaming for once, and get some work done.” Carmen laughed and threw a pen at me, which I skilfully dodged, but it did wake me up from my little daydream.
“There is nothing to do! No development in the murder case and that’s all I am covering right now,” I said and spun around in my chair. “I am so bored right now, I don’t even know what to do.”
“Text your man, see if he has any new information?” Gia suggested.
“Hmm, he avoided talking about the case. Maybe they are having trouble getting a match with the murderer on that dating app.” I had told them about what happened the other day at the police station. I might have a hearing problem now because they had screamed so loud, I’m convinced the entire building heard them. It’s safe to say, they were very excited and convinced he liked me.
“Besides, he’s not my man!” I said while throwing the pen I picked up back at Carmen. “I mean, I wish, but he is so out of my league.”
“No one is out of your league, and I swear he’s into you. I saw the way he looked at you at the bar and at the crime scene. I have an eye for these things, trust me,” Carmen said and dodged the pen as well.
“Whatever,” I sighed. I spun around in my chair a few more times before an idea popped up in my head. “Guys, what if we set up an account on that dating app?”
“And then what? Meet with a creep? No thank you,” Gia said with a disgusting look on her face.
“I’m not a fan of that plan either. Please don’t do something like that Mel. Don’t do anything stupid. That could be very dangerous, and you know it,” Carmen agreed.
“It’s not like I’m actually going to meet him. I just want to see if I can figure out what profile he is using this time.” I stood up and looked out of the window. I oversaw the city, the sky was grey, and it was slightly raining. “Alright, fine. Can one of you give me something to do in that case? Otherwise I will make a dating profile.”
Tumblr media
Later that day I laid in bed, trying to sleep. It was 1am and I had been trying to sleep for two hours, but I was still wide awake. I felt restless and didn’t know what I could do to fall asleep. I had tried to drink some tea, didn’t help. I watched an episode of The Office, didn’t help either. It also didn’t help Walter hadn’t texted me back for hours now. I wondered if he was already getting tired of me.
You know, I could, maybe, possible, just make an account on that dating app and swipe for a while. Maybe I would come across someone that matches the profile that the murderer would use. Gia and Carmen will probably kill me though.
I grabbed my phone. I hesitated for a second, but I downloaded the dating app. After I made an account and uploaded some cute selfies, I finally got to do some swiping. The most guys that came up were pretty basic. They didn’t spike my interest at all. They were the typical white boy, all with the same haircut and they looked like they did not only skip legday, also arm- and chestday. Half of them also posed proudly with a fish they had caught. As if that’s something girls like. Too bad none of these men look a little like Walter.
I also came across a few good looking, decent guys. I knew that was not what the police were looking for, so I swiped them to the left. The next profile was of a guy who was way too good looking. He also only had one picture. It was obviously that this picture was stolen from a model. The bio creeped me out a little. He said he liked to hike in nature, and he enjoyed the silence. You enjoy the silence? Are you trying to creep me out on purpose or what? I swiped him to the right. It was weird but I felt like this could be the one the police were looking for.
I swiped for a little while longer. Swiping a few sketchy looking profiles to the right until I felt my eyelids drop. Yawning, I put my phone aside and finally fell asleep.
Tumblr media
The next morning my alarm woke me up. I stretched out after I turned the alarm off and grabbed my phone. There were a few messages, one of them was from Walter, but what spiked my interest was that I had a few matches on the dating app. I wanted to check it out, but I noticed I had to get out of bed and take a shower if I wanted to be at work on time.
After I had showered and got dressed, I grabbed my phone. The first message I opened was from Walter. He had texted me at 3am.
Walter: We were working late today, no breakthrough in the case. Missed texting with you, can I make it up by calling you tonight?
My heart skipped a few beats. He wanted to call? With me?! I stared at the message for a few seconds while I felt some butterflies flying around in my stomach. Okay, no need to freak out. He just wants to call, he is not proposing. Yet….
Melody: I missed texting with you too. And of course, you can call me tonight. I look forward to it.
Before I could overanalyse my response, I hit send. Take a deep breath Mel. No need to read into this too much. I checked my other messages and texted my mom and Gia back. My mom wanted to know how I was doing, and Gia needed an approval of her outfit of the day.
I walked to the kitchen and grabbed some milk and cereal. While I was eating my breakfast, I noticed the notifications from the dating app. There were a few new matches, and one of them had send a message. It was from the guy with the creepy profile. His name was John. Millions of people are named John, you could’ve at least been a bit more creative while choosing a name.
John: What do you say good looking? Let’s skip the talking stage and just meet up?
I shivered at the thought of meeting up with this guy, but he could be the one they’re looking for, right? I decided to just go to work and deal with it later.
Tumblr media
The workday was slow and boring. I finished a few articles but spend most of my time gossiping with Gia about our favourite celebrities which annoyed Carmen at first, because she wanted to get some work done, but eventually she joined us. I also told them about Walter’s text from that morning. If I weren’t sure I already had a hearing problem from their screams before, I sure as hell would have one now. Those girls made sounds so high, I’m surprised the windows didn’t crack.
The rest day went by slow, and before I knew it the clock showed me it was 3pm. I had decided to not tell Gia and Carmen about the fact I downloaded the dating app and was considering meeting with ‘John’. I mean, I would inform Walter about it. I wasn’t a complete idiot. No need to stress those girls out. Why would I?
My phone buzzed and I picked it up. Another message from ‘John’.
John: What’s it going to be beautiful?
I thought about it, and what could go wrong? I would inform the police, aka Walter. Besides that, I can put up a fight. It’s not like I am a damsel in distress. Plus, the upside of being a little bigger; I’m harder to kidnap, you got to be pretty strong to even lift me up. I shrugged my shoulders and texted him back.
Melody: Sure.
Short, but clear. I looked around the office, Gia and Carmen both sat at their desks typing on their computers. They had no idea what I was doing. They would probably kill me, right here right now. Before I could change my mind about not telling them, my phone buzzed again.
John: Tonight, 7pm? A new bar just opened up, we could get a drink there.
The rest of the message contained the address of the place. I googled it before I answered. The website of the place popped up, and as I suspected, it was clearly a fake website. Bingo. I texted him back, saying I agreed with his plan.
The rest of the hours I had to spend at the office went by surprisingly quick. Soon people were starting to leave, and so were Gia, Carmen and me. We parted ways in the entrance hall, and I drove home. Once I was home, I looked in the fridge, and I came to the conclusion I had forgotten to do groceries. Again.
I wasn’t in the mood to order take out, so I quickly drove to the supermarket. Unfortunately, unlike last time, I didn’t ran into Walter. Shit, I still have to text him about my meeting with ‘John’. I’ll do it once I get back home.
I drove back home and started making dinner. After I ate dinner, and did the dishes, I looked at the clock. It was already 6.30pm and I had to leave soon. Glaring down at my outfit, I decided I wanted to wear something more comfortable. I went to my bedroom and stood in front of my closet. I grabbed an old pair of jeans and a simple long-sleeved black tee. No way I’m going to dress pretty for this guy. Wait, what if he actually is the guy from the picture? Nah, not gonna happen. Shit, I still need to text Walter.
I needed to hurry up and put the tee on. While putting on the jeans, I suddenly heard a sound I didn’t like to hear. I look down and saw the jeans have ripped in the area between my thighs. Thick thighs save lives? They sure as hell don’t save jeans. I thought while throwing them across the room. Quickly I grabbed another, old, pair of jeans and put it on. I put my shoes on and fixed my hair.
I ran into the living room again and grabbed my jacket. With my car keys and phone in one hand, I locked the door behind me with the other one and made my way to my car. 6.45pm, right on time. I started the car and drove off.
While I stood in front of a red light, I remembered I hadn’t texted Walter. Shit. Contemplating what to do, I decided to call him. He didn’t answer. Shit. I left a voicemail instead. The red light turned green and I continued driving. Once I had to stop in front of another red light, I decided to text him as well. I noticed how the streets around me became emptier and emptier.
The street where I was supposed to meet ‘John’ was dark and pretty empty. The sun was settling down, making it even darker. I parked my car at a parking lot and checked my phone. No response from Walter. Not yet at least. I was alone in the parking lot and decided to wait for a few minutes.
Alright, maybe this wasn’t such a good idea. Maybe this was pretty dumb. And why did I forgot to text Walter. Why couldn’t I have done that sooner?! You know what, I’m just gonna go. This was dumb. And reckless.
But before I could start my car, someone opened my door. A man stood there, he was tall but not very muscular and he did not look like the profile picture at all. He looked at me with a creepy grin that made me regret doing this.
“Hello there, nice to meet you. I’m John and you must be Melody. Why don’t you step out of the car?” he said. I didn’t knew what to say, so I nodded and wanted to step out, but he spoke again. “Why don’t you leave that phone of yours here, we don’t need it do we?”
I knew I had to play by his rules. So, I left my phone and stepped out. He took the keys out of my hands and locked my car. I tried to keep thinking straight. Walter should be here soon, right?
John kept talking to me in the meanwhile. He kept telling me how pretty I was and how glad he was to meet with me. I stopped listening when I heard my phone go off in the car. Walter. If that is not him but my mom, I will do something to her.
“Come on, let’s get away from that car, shall we? The bar is right around the corner,” he spoke. We were the only people in the parking lot. I noticed he had parked his car a few feet away from me. Something was definitely not right.
“You know, I’m actually good here. Could you give me my car keys back though?” I asked. I knew he wouldn’t, but I had to stall. I really hoped the police would show up anytime now.
“Ah please? Just one drink?” He took a step closer to me and grabbed my wrist. I quickly twisted my wrist, releasing it from his grip. He looked at me with an unpleased look, and I suddenly felt a presence behind me. Never sneak up on me you dumbass. I thought as I felt the presence got closer.
Once I felt someone was right behind me, I didn’t waste another second. I took a step to the right and shoved my elbow straight into the guy’s nose with full force. He grunted in pain and when I looked behind me, I saw he grabbed his bloody nose with both his hands.
“Creepy Greg from finance?!” I say surprised. “Could have seen that one coming.”
“You bitch!” the guy in front of me yelled. He raised his fist and threw it at my face. Well, he attempted it. I dodged it and slammed my fist into his face instead.
“Sorry, that might leave a mark,” I smiled.
Creepy Greg from finance was still standing behind me, crying, and telling me I broke his nose and that I would pay for it. Make me.
I looked back at the other guy, and he swung his arms at me again, trying to hit me. I ducked to the side a few times, avoiding being hit. Sadly, I couldn’t escape all his attempts to hit me. His fist met the left side of my face. I felt my blood boiling from anger. I took a deep breath and raised my fists. While I was about to throw a punch, I heard loud noises. Cars. Thank God, they’re here.
Before I could comprehend what was going on, policemen were already running towards us. One tackled creepy Greg and a familiar figure tackled the other guy and threw a hard punch in his face. This is not supposed to turn me on. At all.
Walter got up and handed the guy over to another cop. The guy looked at me in disgust, but I didn’t see it. My eyes were focussed on Walter. He closed the gap between us by taking two passes.
“First of all, that was insanely stupid and dangerous and very dumb. This was reckless behaviour! But we will discuss this later,” he said vigorously.
“Yeah, I figured,” I said. I opened my mouth to continue speaking, but he spoke first.
“Are you alright? Are you hurt?” he said with a concerned look in his blue eyes, and his hand caressed the cheek that had been hit. As his rough, calloused fingers touched my skin I felt a spark of electricity going down my spine. His other hand found its way to my waist, and he pulled me a little closer to him. His body radiated a welcoming warmth, and I smelled his familiar musky cologne.
“I’m fine, just got hit once. You should see creepy Greg’s nose,” I snickered.
“I did, and you sure know how to throw a punch,” he smiled. “I’m glad you’re okay. And I’m glad you called and texted me. I’m sorry I missed the call. If I hadn’t missed it none of this would have happened.”
“No, don’t be sorry. This was a pretty stupid, reckless plan and I should have called sooner,” I quickly answered.
“It was indeed reckless and stupid,” he sighed. “Look, we need to take your statement. Why don’t I take you home after?”
“I’d like that, but my car is here,” I said while pointing at it. His hand left my cheek, but his other hand remained on my waist. He was so close to me, and I felt so comfortable despite what happened a few minutes prior.
“We’ll take care of that, don’t worry.” He grabbed my hand, interlaced his fingers with mine and guided me to one of his colleagues. My heart was racing and skipped a few beats at the same time. His hand felt warm and comforting. I never wanted to let go.
We reached his colleague and he started asking me questions and he squeezed my hand before letting go. He walked away to speak to some of his other colleagues and I immediately missed his hand, it felt like mine had fitted perfectly in his.
I told his colleague what happened, and I could see he thought it was really reckless, but I also saw in his eyes he was kind of impressed. He complimented me on how I stayed calm, but he did tell me to never do anything like this again.
Tumblr media
Once he dismissed me, I looked around for Walter. I noticed him already walking towards me, and he offered me a little smile.
“So, Liam is going to take your car down to the station and I will drive you home, alright?”
“Thank you,” I smiled at him. “Can I get something from my car? My phone and keys are still in there.”
After we got my stuff out of the car, he pointed at a big truck. We walked towards it in silence, and he placed his hand on my lower back. Oh god, please keep that hand there forever. Okay, I might be incredibly touch starved.
Unfortunately, we reached the car too soon and his hand left my back to open the door for me. I climbed in and he closed it. He walked around the truck, took place behind the drivers’ wheel, and started the car. While he drove into the street he asked for my address.
We sat in silence next to each other, the radio softly hummed a rock song. I looked out of the window, it was dark and suddenly I realized that what I had done tonight, could have ended badly. Really badly.
“Hey, are you okay?” Walter put his hand on my thigh but when I looked at him, his hand shot up to my cheek to wipe a falling tear away.
“Yeah, yeah. Just realizing that this maybe wasn’t a smart thing to do,” I offered him a small smile. His hand left my cheek and found its way back to my thigh. The warmth coming from it spread throughout my entire body and I didn’t think twice and placed my hand on top of his. He turned his hand around and interlaced his fingers with mine for the second time that night.
He smiled at me and focussed on the road again. We were near my home, but I did not want to be alone now. Heck, I wanted to be near him. I didn’t want him to go. It felt so good to just be around him. I have never felt so comfortable around someone so quickly.
He parked the truck in front of my apartment building, not letting go of my hand.
“So, we’re here,” I mumbled. He grunted in response. We sat in the truck in silence for a few more minutes until it started to rain. I knew it was now or never, he was not going to offer going inside with me. Not after what happened. Perhaps he thought I wanted to be alone.
I felt anxious, but I decided to just ask it.
“Could you stay with me for a while?” I avoided looking at him, but he squeezed my hand and his other hand gently grabbed my chin, making me look into his eyes.
“Sure thing doll.”

“Come on we’re going to the beach.” Maddie exclaims, throwing a beach towel at you.
“Geez Maddie, warn a girl.” You toss the towel to the side, marking the page in your book, “I don’t want to go to the beach today. I’d rather sit here with my book in the air conditioning.”
She gives you a smirk and leans over the back of the couch, her face at your shoulder, “Drew will be there..” She sing songs.
“Oh that note, I’d love to go to the beach.”
She laughs and shakes her head, “You’re so in love with him.” She says as she follows you to your room.
You pull a bikini out of your drawer and get dressed, “He’s just so damn handsome, Maddie. I mean have you seen him? The hair? The smile? That body?” You let out a small moan. “He’s a hunk!”
She laughs and sits on the bed, “Down girl.” She tosses you your cover up, “Why don’t you ask him out today?”
“Are you crazy! Hell no. He’s got a girlfriend.. and I am definitely not his type.”
“Didn’t I tell you? That wasn’t his girlfriend. They both have the same taste in woman.” She gives a small laugh, “He’s single and you are most definitely his type. You’re stunning! How could he not like you?” She motions to your body.
You playfully roll your eyes, “We’ll see how today goes…”
~
“Your girl is coming.” Chase smirks as he nudges Drew. Him, Drew, Rudy, JD and Austin were on their way down the walkway toward the beach.
“I don’t have a girl.” Drew says, glancing back at him.
Rudy rolls his eyes, “Oh bull shit.”
“You know who we’re talking about.” JD says.
Drew looks around at the boys, “Uh, I don’t?”
“y/n, man!” Austin puts his hand on Drew’s shoulder.
Just at the mention of your name, his cheeks grow pink, “She’s not my girl.”
“Oh, come on. She so would be if you’d grow a pair and ask her! You’ve had a crush on her since our first reading.” Chase says.
“Yeah but she doesn’t like me back.” Drew defends, “We’re friends. Co-workers.”
“I highly doubt she doesn’t like you back.” JD says, “You forget we’re friends with her too.”
“She’s told you guys she likes me?” Drew stops and turns to face his friends.
“No. She doesn’t have to.” Rudy smirks, “the way she talks about you and the way her eyes light up when you come near tells us everything we need to know.”
~
The boys picked a quiet spot near the water and set up the pop up tents and games. You, Maddie and Madison arrived not long after.
“I see you girls show up after all the hard work is done.” JD says.
“Well, yeah. We timed it perfectly.” You laugh.
Austin pokes Drew, “There’s your girl.”
Drew groans, “Stop.” Drew pulls the shirt off and hangs it up in the tent.
You look up at the right time to see Drew peeling the shirt off his body. The way his muscles moved…
“Hey, you want to lay out over here?” Maddie asks, pulling you from your daze.
“Yeah. Sounds good.” You follow her to the side of the tent and put your bag down before pulling out a towel from your bag and laying it out next to hers. You slip your cover up off.
Drew’s eyes are on yours as he’s pulling sunscreen from his bag. His eyes glanced over your body. He didn’t know you had a freckle on your back shoulder.
“could you make it more obvious?” JD laughed.
“you’re literally undressing her with your eyes.” Rudy adds.
Drew blushes that he was caught and quickly looks away when you turn around. He hoped he hadn’t gotten caught.
“You’ve gained an audience.” Madison comments quietly after you’d discarded your bathing suit cover.
“Oh, you got his attention girly.” Maddie smirks when she sees Drew looking at you.
You blush and glance over your shoulder to see him turning away, a pink tent on his cheeks. You see the sun screen in his hands and take a deep breath. Be bold. Be confident.
You turn around and start toward him, “Want me to get your back?”
He looks at the bottle in his hands and then back at you, “Yeah if you don’t mind.”
“No, I don’t mind.” You smile, taking the bottle and put a good amount in your hands before lathering his shoulders and back in the sunscreen.
“Drew!” Chase whispers and then motions to his balls, “Grow a pair!”
Drew rolls his eyes and hopes you didn’t see Chase. He glances down at you over his shoulders, “So… have you ever been to this beach?” He winces at his stupidity, seriously Drew? That’s the best you can do?
You let out a soft laugh and shake your head, “No, I haven’t. Have you?”
He nods, “Yeah. Me and the boys come here every once and a while. It’s on the quieter side of town, which we like.”
You nod, “it is quiet…” You finish up his back with sunscreen, “There you go. All done.”
“uh thanks for that.” He gives a smile, taking the sunscreen bottle from your hands and putting it in his bag.
“No problem.” You flash a smile and head back to your towel, sitting next to Maddie.
Drew heads towards the water where the boys are, “have you ever been to this beach?” Austin jokes.
Drew groans, “Stop. I didn’t know what to say.”
“You could have come up with something better than that.” Rudy teases.
“you know, like will you go out with me?” JD adds.
~
“Let’s play chicken!” Rudy calls out from the water, “Let’s go girls.”
You groan as Madison pulls you up, “It’ll be fun!” You three head toward the water where the boys are standing around.
“Me and Maddie will be on a team against…” Chase looks at you and then Drew, giving him a smirk, “Drew and y/n.”
You and Drew exchange a look, “Y/n probably doesn’t..”
“Let’s do it.” You nod, walking over to him, “It’s just a game of chicken, right?”
He clears his throat and nods, “yeah, sure.”
“Well, do you expect me to grow longer legs to get on your shoulders or are you going to bend down?”
He blushes, “Right!” He goes underwater and moves under your legs and when he stands, you’re on his shoulders. His hands grip your thighs to keep you steady and you grip his hair.
“Shit, easy on the hair.” Drew groans.
You blush and slowly let go, “Sorry, didn’t expect you do that.”
“It’s okay.” He chuckles, “alright we ready to play?”
Maddie smirks at you, looking between you and Drew. You roll your eyes and shake your head.
~
After the game of chicken, the group decides to head back up to the beach and have a quick lunch. As you’re heading in, Drew calls you back. Time for Drew to grow a pair. “Hey, y/n?”
“Yeah?” You stop and face him.
“Can you stay in with me a little longer? I wanted.. uh to talk to you?” He runs a hand through his hair.
You glance back up at the group and back at him, “yeah sure.” You wade back into the water and over to him, the waves crashing softly into your bodies.
“I’m just going to cut to the chase and get to it.”
You raise an eyebrow at him, “Okay?”
He takes a deep breath, “I like you, y/n. Like, like.”
You can’t help but blush and glance down at your hands, running them over the surface of the water, “I like like you too, Drew.”
His eyes go wide at you, “Wait, seriously?”
You laugh and nod, “yes, seriously.” You step closer to him, holding your hand up to block the sun as you look up at him.
“I uh.. okay.” He chuckles, “Really didn’t expect you to like me back. So, how about a date?”
“A date sounds good. I’d like that.”
“yeah.” He smiles, “me too. How about tonight after our day at the beach? I don’t know if I can wait any longer..”
“Tonight is great.” You smile.
“Kiss her you idiot!” Rudy yells out.
You and Drew both blush. “Just ignore him..”
“Maybe you should listen to his advice.”
Drew takes a step closer to you, “I should huh?”
You nod, “You should.”
Drew reaches out and cups your cheek, “if you insist.”
The two of you smile into the kiss and laugh when the group erupts in whoops and hollers.
“Aye Drew Starkey does have a pair of balls, ladies and gentlemen!” Chase calls out.
“I told you he liked you!” Maddie calls out to you.
“We’re never going to hear the end of this are we?” You ask, looking up at him.
He shakes his head, laughing, “Nope. Probably not.”

Title: daddy’s first day [coward series au] Pairing: F!Reader x Miya Atsumu Genre: fluff, parents au, slice of life au Synopsis: In which Miya Atsumu takes charge of taking care of the kids for a day Warnings: none!
notes; you don’t need to read coward tbh to read this chapter, its just miya atsumu navigating his life as a daddy hshsshs [side stories are updated every friday] read the series here!  [ ss;; one, two, three, four ]
Tumblr media
“...Remember that Youta is allergic to shrimps and Yuuto’s got sensitive skin, I have all the medication in case anything happens and Yuuto has his soap in the bathroom in a separate container, just make sure that the water isn’t too cold nor too hot and remind him to wear sunscreen every two hours.” You explain, placing the last of your valuables in your bag “...I’m also on speed dial and you also have the number of their pediatricians on your number 2 speed dial, I also have the food in the tupperware prepared the night before-”
“Y/N, sweetheart, please calm down. I’m not going to kill our kids when you’re gone for the next nine hours.” he frowns at how distrusting you were towards him. okay, he admitted that he may have hated the boys at first but that was before. They were your kids now, that was totally different! They weren’t some random brats on the street! You should have a little faith in him!
“Atsumu, you almost burned down the house while making scrambled eggs.” You expressed, a glint of amusement on your eyes, “Would you like me to call ‘samu-san or Daiki-san?”
He scoffed at the mention of those two men, after ‘samu found out that he was actually an Uncle of those kids, he suddenly had a one hundred sixty degree change of attitude. Of course, Atsumu was happy that you guys got along and the kids seemed to start warming up to him but it seemed like you trusted ‘samu  more these days and that daiki too.
“Alright, just help them with their homework and heat up the food okay? I have everything prepared.” You leaned in to give him a quick peck on the temple before leaving. He watches you leave the house in a hurry for work with a frown on his lips.
Married life with you was easy, you were like a superwoman. A great mom, a great co-worker, even a greater wife. How come he couldn’t be as half as good as you? Like be a cool dad to your kids or something? He couldn’t even cook the damn eggs well and there you were, making some Michelin star cuisine while making your kids happy and content and your work life thriving.
“Oh,” Yuuto’s brow is scrunched together as he exits his shared room with his brother, see, that’s what he gets from the kids, awkwardness and insults (mostly insults,really), “You know ever since you came back, ‘kaasan’s always been busy and hasn’t been spending time with us.”
“Yeah.” Youta yawns, scratching his eyes as he exits the room, “You even make bad food, I think you should just keep playin’ volleyball or something.”
Atsumu feels a tick on his forehead, they were definitely his sons that’s for sure.
“I’m trying here.”
Yuuto stifles as chuckle at his father’s reply, wanting to comfort him, he told him a little fact that their ojisan told him recently, “Sure you are,  you’re doing a lot better than okaasan, Daiki-ojisan said okaasan didn’t know how to hold us until we were three or four.” the eight year old grinned.
Atsumu grabs a tupperware from the fridge that’s labelled ‘breakfast’ and proceeds to heat it up on the microwave, “I’m sure that’s a lie. Your okaasan seems to do very well now, it’s hard to imagine her messing up.”
He watches them eat their egg rolls and bacon, time flies quick these days. The boys were already eight years old and were getting more and more into volleyball. Youta exclaimed he wanted to be a pro like him while Yuuto wanted to be like you (although he still played volleyball a lot because he had the competitive streak thanks to his father)
“Can we invite Tobio-ojisan on our birthday?” Yuuto asks while Atsumu rolls his eyes, he can’t believe that this kid still idolized that idiot. He beated him thrice already! (okay, Tobio had beated him five times including high school nationals but still)
“Oh also, Shoyou-ojisan then we can play against them!” Youta grins, mouth stuffed with egg rolls. Atsumu grimaces at him then grabs a napkin to wipe off the rice on the side of his lip, “How are you guys not impressed by me?” their father grumbles.
“You’re our otosan.” Yuuto deadpanned.
“Yeah, we see you everyday.” Youta added.
After helping the kids out in the bath (especially Yuuto since apparently he needed a temp check for the water), he had them do their projects and assignments (you had a long list on what they should accomplish today and one of them was a science planetary object)
The thing is though, he wasn’t very good at that.
He ended up having ‘samu on speaker to help the kids as they choked on their laughter because their otosan still thought that Pluto was a planet.
It also didn’t help when their math assignments came up, oh boy, Youta had a problem with one number and when he tried to explain to Atsumu that there was a new way to solve that and that their sensei had told them to solve it that way, he got pissed, “I don’t know that way! Why would they change math?  MATH IS MATH!” He screeches at the notebook as if it had done something wrong to him.
Safe to say, Yuuto had a field day as he watched his otosan frustratingly solve the math problem whilst muttering something about how math was complicated and they didn’t need to change up the equations. Youta, on the other hand,  had to calm him down and tell him they could just use the old way to solve the problem.
“...I want pizza.”
“Your mom left us dinner.”
“It says here on the note that you have to bake it in the oven.” Yuuto reads out loud, “ ‘Samu-ojisan says that you shouldn’t touch an oven though.”
Atsumu feels like he’s aging quick because of these two kids, how is it that they were such angels to you but little devils towards him? “...when they’re angels, they’re Y/N’s kids but when they become devils, they’re yours.” ‘Samu jokes.
Ah, he felt his forehead tick on that statement. He had some pretty redeeming qualities that he passed on to his kids like his looks and skills in volleyball!
“Otosan, I don’t think you should put the tupperware in the oven.”
“I know what I’m doing here.”
Clearly, he didn’t. He ended up melting the plastic tupperware and having to call for takeout right after. The three of them looked at the melted tupperware and the food spillage in the oven, “Okaasan really likes those tupperwares.” Youta points out.
“I’ll buy her ten new ones.” Atsumu grimaced at the food in the oven, he should clean that and get rid of all the evidence when you come home in an hour. In fact, he should just buy a new oven because he thinks the smell is permanent there, “Wanna watch a movie before you go to bed? I promise I’ll cover for you.”
“You just don’t want us to tell okaasan that you melted her tupperware.” Yuuto pointed out.
“Pffft…” Atsumu laughs, pretending to shake it off, “I would not.”
“Extra scoop of ice cream on Sunday.”
“Yeah!” Youta echoes.
Atsumu narrows his eyes, “Deal.”
They ended up sprawling on the couch after putting on their pajamas. The kids sip their milk next to him, after seeing Kageyama drinking loads of it, the boys decided that if a big boy like Kageyama Tobio could drink milk, they could to (Osamu crackles because they didn’t seem to listen to Atsumu lecturing them about the benefits of milk) Halfway through the movie, the kids fell asleep and the blonde feels his eyes shut soon after too.
You come in quietly as you notice the quiet chatter of the TV and the figures of your three boys on the couch, all snuggled together. Your heart immediately softens as soon as you see the domestic scene in front of you. Something you probably never could imagine before, your boys. You take a picture before waking your husband up with a light kiss on the jaw, “You look like you had a fun day.” you mumbled, loud enough for him to hear.
“I hate math assignments.” was all he could reply.
You silently chuckled as you picked up Youta, “I’ll put the kids to bed, mind running me a bath?”
“Can I join in?” Atsumu suddenly awakened as soon as he heard what you said, a smirk dancing on his lips, “Save water and all that?”
“Are you really going with me in the tub?” You narrowed your eyes, “Last time we did that together, we ended up having two kids.”
“What’s another two more?”
“Miya Atsumu.”

    The hot morning sun beats down on McKenzie's face, causing the sweat it forms to wake her up. She groans and rolls over, turning her back to the window, only to feel a body next to her. The groggy morning feeling is replaced by terror quickly as Kenzie opens her eyes to see who exactly is next to her.
    Her panic dissipates faster than it came when she sees the idiotic blonde boy she loves sleeping soundly on the other side of the bed in John B.'s spare room. Kenzie sits on her elbow and stares down at him, admiring his delicate features that are relaxed.
    It was quite peaceful seeing JJ resting. No other worldly worries settled on his features. He looked, for lack of a better word, beautiful. His eyebrows weren't knitted together in hidden anxiety, and his lips weren't constantly switching between a scowl and his usual playful smirk. The constant shaking of his hands was gone, and the JJ was still for the first time since Kenzie knew him.
    This wasn't the first time they've shared a bed. JJ would sneak into her house after a rough night at home but be gone before she woke up in fear that her father would lock him up for life.
    "You know," JJ says, voice low and gruff, making Kenzie jump slightly. "It's considered rude to stare in many cultures." Kenzie laughs off her embarrassment as JJ opens a single eye to look at her, accompanied with his signature smirk. "C'mere," He says again, pulling Kenzie down into his chest.
    "Well, good morning to you too, JJ." Kenzie laughs, snuggling closer to the bare-chested boy. The warm beers from last night return with a slight vengeance, causing Kenzie's stomach to feel icky and growl. JJ holds onto her tighter, nestling his nose into her messy bedhead. "I should get home soon," She sighs, but making no move to get away from the affectionate JJ.
    "Five more minutes," JJ mumbles, positioning himself, so McKenzie was practically trapped under his body weight. She giggles and allows him the five minutes. Which slowly turns into five more and into an hour. JJ nods back into sleep, snoring softly in Kenzie's ear while she lies awake, staring at the ceiling and wondering how long sour beer took to get out of your system.
    There's a soft knock on the door, John B. entering soon after with bleary eyes and no shirt. He smiles when seeing the predicament Kenzie is in, JJ laying three-quarters on top of her with his mouth agape next to her ear. "Shut up, John B.," She mumbles, motioning to her phone that's just out of reach on the nightstand. "And pass me my phone, please."
    John B. walks around the bed quietly and passes the girl her phone, smirking the entire time. "You look comfortable," He comments, standing next to her side of the bed.
    "You try being trapped under a teenage boy who hasn't showered in a week and reeks of booze and make it comfortable," Kenzie comments, turning her attention to her phone with multiple messages from her father, telling her she needs to at least be home by five for dinner that night and if he finds her in the jail cells, she'll be grounded for life. "Looks like you're stuck with me all day, Pouge. Dad's in office and wants me home by five."
    "Yeah," JJ cheers tiredly, shuffling slightly on top of his best friend.
     "Mornin' sleeping beauty," John B. Jokes, making his way out of the room. "Kie brought breakfast from the Wreck." At the mention of food, JJ jolts up and follows John B. out of the room. Kenzie shuffles along, adjusting her tank top that JJ messed with while sleeping on top of her.
    "Dude, I only drank half a beer last night, but my stomach won't stop hurting," Kenzie complains as she stacks a paper plate full of breakfast foods. "Probably because somebody didn't bring the ice like he was supposed to," She sends a pointed look towards JJ, who just huffs with a roll of his eyes from the couch as he shovels food into his mouth.
    "To be fair, my stomachs been buggin' since then too," JJ comments, shrugging his shoulders like everyone else was feeling the same thing. The group agrees it was only JJ and Kenzie who felt these things. McKenzie takes a seat next to JJ, bumping shoulders.
    Breakfast flies by, everyone is famished after a night of partying. They agree a day on HMS Pouge would be a perfect idea. "I just need to head home and get my suit," Kenzie informs, grabbing JJ's plate as she heads into the kitchen to clean up their mess.
    "Great. Can you pick up ice along the way? You can take the Twinkie," John B. asks, already tossing her the keys to the van. Kenzie agrees as she heads to the guest room, trying to find her shoes and phone.
    JJ follows her, wanting to change into board shorts and a tank from the drawer he has in the house. "Want me to come with you?" He asks, pulling on his pants and shirt while Kenzie has her back turned. "I know you get ever so lonely without your favorite Pouge," He jokes, leaning his head on Kenzie's shoulder, smirking widely when she gives him a side-eye.
    "More like I don't want you causing trouble without me," Kenzie says, pulling her Vans on. JJ laughs with her and follows her out of the house, going on about his plans on the boat. He continues to blab as they pull up to the deputy's house, talking with his hands.
    JJ jumps when he hears someone yelling 'hey' at the two, looking around like a Kook was coming to kick his ass. "Hi, Dad. Just coming to change. We're going to the marsh," Kenzie informs, looking at the doorbell with an attitude.
    "Your dad can see us?" JJ asks, looking over McKenzie's shoulder at the offending doorbell, which happened to have a camera attached.
    "Sure can, Maybank. So don't try anything; I'll be watching," Shoupe says through the cam. He had gotten the motion detection alert and, being bored at work, decided to spy on his neighbors.
    "Be nice, Dad. I'll be out of here quick," Kenzie rolls her eyes, flipping off the camera as she enters the house. JJ salutes the camera with a mischievous smirk before closing the door behind him. "Would you get some sodas from the garage, J? I don't feel like drinking too much after your mishap last night." JJ groans and throws his head back in anguish.
    "It was one time, Ken," He calls through the house as she runs upstairs to change. JJ does as he was asked, grabbing a six-pack of ginger ale for their stomachs and Kenzie's favorite Dr. Pepper.
    JJ glances up the stairs when he hears Kenzie skipping down them, pulling her shirt down her flawlessly tanned torso. The warm beers make an appearance again, making JJ's stomach churn. "Got the goods?" She asks, smiling brightly at her best friend. He holds them up with a faint smile and leads her out of the house. Kenzie grabs a backpack off the hooks hiding behind the front door and follows behind.
    The Pouge Bag, as Kenzie called it, holds everything she would ever need with the delinquents. Sunscreen, pain pills, tums, and a first aid kit, along with snacks and bottled waters for everyone. Kenzie had become the mom of the friend group, always looking out for them as if they were her family.
    McKenzie waits in the van as JJ runs inside the corner shop to get ice, scrolling through her phone absentmindedly as the van blows cool air on her. A movement to her left causes her to glance up, slowly lowering her sunglasses as she watches the young man pull two bags of ice out of the freezer.
    Has JJ always looked like that? Muscular and hot? His biceps bulge as he carries the ice towards the back of the Twinkie, smirking as he catches Kenzie practically drooling over him. JJ tosses the bags in the back carelessly, smiling up at McKenzie. "You got a little drool right there, Ken," JJ jokes, wiping the corner of his mouth.
    "I wasn't drooling, dumbass. I was making sure you got the ice to the van, unlike last time," JJ flips her off and hops in the passenger seat.
    On the boat, JJ can't tear his eyes from Kenzie, who stripped to her bikini top and shorts and was dancing with John B. to the songs on the radio. The way her teeth catch the sunlight and brighten her already perfect smile makes JJ's stomach lurch, and the way the sweat drips down her chest causes his to tighten.
    He stares down at the beer in his hand accusingly, like that was the cause for the fluttering feeling in his stomach. Maybe the beers were expired because the condensation on the side shows it's cold.
    "Everything okay over there, JJ?" Kie asks, eyeing her friend suspiciously. JJ nods, holding up the beer slightly.
    "Making me sick again," He explains shortly, which causes Kenzie to pull away from John B. and put her hand to JJ's forehead. He stares into her eyes, the icky feeling growing quickly.
    "You don't feel hot, hun. Drink some water," She insists, already passing him one from her backpack. JJ's eyes don't leave her, absolutely memorized by the way she so delicately takes care of him. He's so enchanted by her that he misses the knowing look between his friends.

5.6k of surfer harry and y/n, mostly fluff, frenemies to lovers type beat
moodboard
warnings - marijuana usage, swearing, very light sexual language, lotsa teasing, harry being really sassy
notes - this started as a little blurb for @majorharry‘s 20k fic celebration and then it spiraled out of control into this very self-indulgent fantasy. I used the prompt “You’re lying. I can tell when you look at me like that.” Cass’s work inspired me to start writing harry fic in the first place, so if you enjoy this, you have her to thank! <3
more notes - fair warning y’all, I’m not a stoner by any means. i’ve been high like twice in my life and i cried both times so please forgive any inaccuracies in the smoking department. that being said, I urge you to click this link to learn about the decriminalization of cannabis in the US and how you can help correct the injustices associated with it. ok, yes I will shut up now please enjoy!
Island life was a dream come true for Y/N.
There was no sound she loved more than the crashing of waves against the shore, no smell more lovely than the salty aroma of beach air, and no sight more beautiful than the bright sunrise from her home two blocks away from the sand. She squinted at the rising sun as she rode the familiar route to the beach, surfboard clutched underneath one arm. With the other, she steered her trusty bicycle—the only form of transformation she needed on the island. All she ever needed to do was go back and forth from home to work at the surf shack on the beach and back again, with an occasional Target run in between when she was low on mangoes for her smoothies.
It was a perfect morning for an easy surf. Not too hot, not too windy. Just pale skies and a gentle summer breeze bringing peaceful energy to the tiny shack on the sand. She approached the back of the shop, clutching her board a little tighter as she rode over the uneven beach terrain. When she reached the wooden structure, she deposited her bike and board out back before waltzing inside through the back door.
“Morning, H!” Y/N yelled into the room, gripping the strap of her backpack over one shoulder.
From the main shopping area of the store, a curly head popped into the back room. “You’re late,” he replied, pushing his sunglasses through his already messy hair and perching them on the crown of his head. He sauntered into the back room, following Y/N over to their shared locker in the corner.
“C’mon Harry,” Y/N shrugged him off, “island time.”
In truth, neither of them really cared about her being a few minutes late to their agreed meeting time. The store didn’t open for hours and even then, the owner wouldn’t mind. It also didn’t hurt that said owner was none other than Harry’s mother.
“'S pretty out today,” Y/N continued, shoving her backpack into the locker they stored their stuff in during the day. “Should be plenty of nice hollows to play around in before—”
“My smoothie better not be melted,” Harry interrupted her just as she was pulling two thermoses out of the bag.
He was smirking, obviously uninterested in what she was saying and instead transfixed with the sweet drinks in her hands. Y/N rolled her eyes at him. Harry may not have been the most gracious company, but he was company at least. Island life was simple, relaxed, and perfect for Y/N, but it’d be lonely if it weren’t for him. He also consistently supplied her with decent weed and excellent board wax, which certainly didn’t hurt his case. In return, she brought him a mango smoothie every day. As underpaid and overworked coworkers, symbiosis and a shared love for the ocean kept their friendship relatively intact.
“Just for that, you’re not getting it until after dawn patrol,” she taunted, rattling the thermos above her head. She enjoyed the way his eyes followed the drink like a cat’s would a piece of yarn.
His tanned chest rose and fell as he inhaled an exasperated breath, jaw tight and eyes glinting with playful contempt. Along with his teasing expression, he wore only orange floral board shorts and the pair of sunglasses pushing back his curls. Y/N couldn’t help but notice his lack of clothing, even after months of working and surfing together nearly every day. Fuck, she thought, he just keeps getting hotter.
She couldn’t decide whether the fact that he was an actual work of art was helping her withstand his presence in her life, or if it was just simply torturing her with something she didn’t think she could have. Either way, his beauty was a constant distraction.
“Fine,” Harry taunted as Y/N put the drinks in the mini fridge beside the locker. “But just for that, I’ll out-surf your ass.”
~~~
Y/N laid with her cheek pressed down on her board, sighing as the hot sun gently warmed her wet skin. Dawn had brought plenty of excitement in the form of large, smooth waves, but by mid-morning the sea had calmed to a pleasant lull. She spread out her arms and let her fingers trail lightly in the water, finding comfort and solace in the coldness of it. Her board bobbed softly with the mellow waves, rocking her body like a mother rocking her baby. She could have fallen asleep if it weren’t for Harry’s sudden loud cursing coming from somewhere behind her.
“Y/N! Wake the fuck up!”
“I’m not asleep, asshole,” she called back, not moving from her peaceful position.
“C’mon, we’re already late. And s’ gonna rain so we have to pull in the racks.”
Y/N remembered the way the rising sun had been beating down on them all morning. She felt like she was being roasted out there in the humid air with her back exposed to the rays, not obstructed by even a single cloud. But the island weather was as volatile as it was beautiful, and the start of tropical storm season was imminent.
Y/N picked her head up and pushed her chest up on the board, observing the large, dark storm clouds in the distant horizon. I’ll be damned, she thought, he’s right. There was no way in hell she’d ever actually say that to him, though. Not with the way he was continuously taunting her from his place on his own board—“Y/N! Waaaakeeeey wakey! We have woooork!”
“Alright, Harry, shut up! I’m coming.”
Despite Harry’s incessant nagging, they both paddled to shore at a pretty lazy pace, trying to savor their last few minutes of peace in the water before having to deal with all the daily nuisances of customer service.
Anne’s shop on the beach was a hit with the locals and tourists alike. For years, she and Harry had been providing beachgoers with sunscreen and board wax and rash guards and even souvenir t-shirts and mugs, that sort of thing. Anne finally hired Y/N when they started selling bikinis two months ago and the business went through the roof. Having more customers was great, but it meant there was more work to be done.
Y/N and Harry approached the store, dragging their boards with their hair still dripping wet and feet caked with sand. There was a boy lingering outside, dressed in a tank top and board shorts that both looked half a size too big on his skinny frame. They both recognized him immediately—he was a regular at the beach but kind of a shubie, which deeply irritated Harry. Y/N wasn’t Tyler’s biggest fan either; it pissed her off a little when he’d show up bright and early before Anne, Harry or herself had even arrived to open up. But she was at least less hung up on it than Harry was.
“I got him,” Y/N told Harry. “Can you start on the racks? Don’t need you chasing away our best customer.”
Little did Y/N know, Harry disliked the guy for more reasons than just the facts that he showed up ridiculously early to the store and that he tried to dress like a surfer and hang with the locals but was too much of a pussy to go near the water.
While Y/N was tending to Tyler, Harry begrudgingly began pulling in the clothing racks stocked with t-shirts that Anne liked to keep outside in front of the shop. During last year’s rainy season, he’d have to pull the damn things inside nearly every other day. He glared through the open front door at Tyler while he interacted with Y/N, making her use the pole to reach one of the tank tops hung high up on the wall. “Interacted” was a soft way to put it, he reckoned. It could not possibly be more obvious that he was flirting with her.
It only annoyed Harry because he knew he was about eight thousand times better than Tyler on literally all levels, yet the boy still got to enjoy Y/N’s attention for as long as he wanted (he was a paying customer, after all). All while she was none the wiser. Harry loathed the way his eyes lingered on her chest, especially since today she hadn’t had time to put her coverup on before having to get the fucking tank top for him.
Y/N’s head snapped away from Tyler and his incessant talking when a loud crashing sound rang out. Harry was already looking at her from the doorway, face twisted with irritation. One of the racks was crashed into the wall beside him, leaving a few fallen shirts scattered on the floor.
“You missed the door, H.” Y/N laughed at him. She was amused by the grumbling noises he was making as he struggled to yank the rack through the door frame.
“You wanna do this yehself then? ‘F you just gonna make fun of me…” He frowned, voice getting fainter as he disappeared outside to grab the last rack.
“Sorry about him,” Y/N turned back to Tyler, who was waiting patiently for her to scan and neatly fold the top he was buying.
The boy flashed her a charming smile. “S’ fine. I’m not here for him.”
Y/N was not an idiot. She noticed his flirting, but didn’t take it remotely seriously. He was far too young for her. He was thinner than she preferred. His hair was too blonde, skin too pale and clean of any ink. And, well, he wasn’t Harry.
She kind of hated that everyone had to be compared to Harry in her mind, but she couldn’t help it. He was a masterpiece. Her gaze followed him as he sauntered back into the store, picking up fallen merchandise here and there before strolling right past her, into the back room.
Y/N sent Tyler a tightlipped smile when she realized she’d been inadvertently ignoring him. She felt his eyes on her as she finished the transaction. He took the bag from her outstretched arm, but his presence lingered even after she’d given him a polite yet dismissive “Have a nice day.”
“I’m Tyler, by the way,” he began, and Y/N internally groaned. He’d introduced himself several times already during the past few weeks. She was nicer about it than Harry, sure, but fuck she did not want to entertain this kid’s advances. “And you’re—“
“Y/N!” Harry’s voice called from behind her, interrupting Tyler rather rudely in the middle of his sentence. Harry appeared at her side as if she’d conjured him up by thinking about him. She be lying if she said she minded the interruption. “Here’s your smoothie from the back,” he said with a charming smile.
Harry produced one of the thermoses and presented it to her as if it were a prize. He knew he was the real winner though—one look at Tyler’s dejected expression confirmed that much.
“Oh! Thank you, Harry,” Y/N chirped, trying desperately to thank Harry with her eyes while still remaining diplomatic. “I was just finishing up with Tyler here.”
The blonde boy looked between Harry and Y/N, lingering for only a few more seconds with his anxious fingers twisted in the plastic bag he was holding. “Right,” he stuttered, “er…you guys have a good one…” And he backed away from the store.
Y/N turned back to Harry as their customer left. She took the thermos from his hand before playfully scolding him. “That was rude, Harry.”
"He was being rude first. He wouldn’t leave.” Harry shrugged, sipping his own smoothie and swooping back into the back room before Y/N could tease him on his poor excuse.
The Tyler ordeal aside, the work day passed as all the others did. Maybe a little less busy than usual due to the impending storm. By early evening, the tourist crowd at the beach had thinned considerably. One or two local surfers lingered in the water as the dark clouds began to roll in and slowly hide the sun. Harry and Y/N watched them absently from their places behind the counter, sitting beside each other on matching stools.
Y/N took in the view. Even painted an ominous shade of dark gray, the horizon brought a serene wave of calm over her. This was where she belonged, and she was sure of it.
“Whatcha lookin’ at?” Harry asked, noticing the far away look in her eyes.
“The water,” Y/N replied. It was true—she was looking at the water. But she was really looking beyond it, taking in the entire scene. The lull of the crystal blue ocean, the fading sunlight hitting the palm trees, the soft sand being pelted with raindrops, even the display case of I <3 2 SURF mugs that was mildly obstructing her view out the window. She turned to face him and, of course, he fit right in. He was an integral part of her vision, the beautiful fantasy that she was lucky enough to be living in.
He smiled at her. “’S pouring fuckin’ buckets, Y/N. There’s water everywhere.”
She laughed at his joke, happy to slip back into her real-life daydream.
“What should we do, then? No one’s gonna be coming to the beach.”
“I dunno. Play a game?” Last rainy season, Harry had been alone in the shop. Those past lonely days felt like an entirely different lifetime. In this one, Y/N was his present. His here and now.
He stood from the stool and crouched down to survey the shelves underneath the counter. Anne kept random necessities like water bottles and fruit snacks and a flashlight and…yes! A deck of Uno cards.
Y/N sighed dramatically. With Harry, she knew even a simple little game for kids would quickly spiral into momentous occasion.
“Well if I’m gonna have to play this game with you, there’s no way I’m doing it sober.” With that, Y/N didn’t hesitate to hop off her own stool and head to the back room to retrieve her backpack.
Harry raised his eyebrows, amused by the suggestion. Maybe it was irresponsible to get high when the shop was technically still open for another hour, but what the hell. The crowd had already been thinning for hours.
“We’re gonna smoke in my dear mother’s shop?” Harry mused.
“We? Did you want one?” Her voice was teasing, growing clearer as she returned from the back room. She perched herself back in her stool and began to prepare a single joint for herself.
“Love, I literally provide you the weed. Of course I fuckin’ want one.”
“Okay, sassy. You can do it yourself if you’re gonna be a dick about it.”
So, he did. And naturally, the task turned into a heated race between the two. The pelting rain outside was an appropriate soundtrack for a race which Y/N, distracted by the way Harry’s nimble fingers packed the rolling paper and pink tongue slipped out to seal the edge, was destined to pathetically lose.
“Hah,” said Harry once he’d twisted the tip, flourishing the finished joint between them for himself to admire.
Y/N rolled her eyes as she finished her own, “Whatever, Harry. I out surfed you this morning and I’ll out smoke you tonight.”
“Well then I’ll have to beat your ass at Uno.”
“Game on.”
They played six rounds of Uno, taking hits in between turns until they were both high as kites. They lost interest in the middle of round seven when Y/N accidentally knocked the deck off of the counter, scattering the cards all over the floor. Even though they each had an even three wins under their belt, neither wanted to pick up the cards, so they agreed to a truce. The pitter-patter of rain and whooshing sound of high winds continued as Harry was muttering in a low voice—something about him dreading having to clean up all the cards tomorrow—but Y/N wasn’t really listening at all.
The high disintegrated the invisible barrier between them, effectively magnifying their usual playful touches into prolonged caresses. Y/N had one leg draped over Harry’s lap, perfectly placed for his massive hands to clutch her calf and gently massage her skin in tune with his soft ramblings. His touch sent sparks flying deep in her belly. He was everywhere, his presence so commanding she was almost disoriented by euphoria. She only fell back down to earth when she realized the comforting din she’d gotten used to had gone silent.
“Listen, H. It’s stopped raining.”
He silenced his mellow prattling and stood from the stool, making Y/N frown a little at the loss of touch. She watched him as he moved over to the window, resting his palms on the sill and peering through the glass at the beach. “Not for long. Look at the clouds.”
She followed his movements, wandering over to him and then tugging one of his arms off the sill. Craving his touch, she effortlessly wedged herself in between his body and the window—a move that would have made sober Harry a little flustered. But his fuzzy brain allowed him to relax into the feeling of her body against his. He lifted his arm to point at the second cluster of storm clouds approaching the beach from the horizon, in turn pressing his bicep to her shoulder.
“Hm,” Y/N surveyed the incoming clouds. “Maybe I should get home while it’s stopped. No one’s coming to the shop when ’s pouring out.”
“Yeh gonna ride your bike high?” Harry mused. “Don’tcha think that’s kinda unsafe?”
She didn’t think so, really. But she’d be lying if she said she didn’t want an excuse to hang out with Harry some more, especially now that they were standing way closer than necessary and she could once again feel his bare skin against hers. “I guess…” Y/N trailed off, distracted by the high coursing through her and the feeling of his arms around her. They were strong from years of propelling himself through the sea water, hot and tan from the hours spent in island sun.
“Fancy a dip to sober you up?”
She paused to ponder the offer, putting considerable effort into focusing on thinking rather than feeling his body. The water did look as inviting as ever now that the rain had let up—temporarily, at least.
“Okay.”
The words had barely left her mouth before Harry was moving eagerly away from her. Y/N stumbled out the door behind him, struggling to keep up while he excitedly meandered down the sand on unsteady legs. Halfway there, Y/N gave up on trying to catch up. She shed her board shorts and sandals right there on the sand, leaving her in her bikini top from earlier and matching bottoms. As she waded into the sea, part of her was regretting skipping the rash guard that morning as the salt water stung the reddening skin on her exposed stomach.
Harry was feeling a similar pain on his own bare abdomen, but he paid it no mind as he bounced through the white water. Instead he took in the twinkling sea and the early evening sunset, appreciating the way the pink clouds reflected in the water. It was so pretty, he thought, endorphins flooding his brain. Might be the prettiest fuckin’ sight I’ve ever seen…
Suddenly, Harry’s reverie was rudely interrupted by a cold blast of salt water slapping him on the back.
“What the fuck?!”
He whipped around and there she was, waist-deep with her cheeky smile and challenging eyes giving her away. Of course she was guilty, there was no one else in the goddamn lagoon five minutes before another torrential downpour. He inched toward her, impishly preparing his own counter attack. She was giggling profusely as she, too, moved backward as if she were his prey.
When she’d backed up to where it was too deep for her to stand, she squeaked and lifted her hands up in front of her face to protect herself. The water was up to her cheeks, flushed with heat, with elation, and alighted by the setting sun. Harry splashed her mercilessly, both giggling like children as her attempts to thwart his attack failed. His head was spinning, melodic laughter and splashes resonating between them. She flung her arms blindly in and out of the water as he moved closer and, foolishly, he underestimated the power of blind luck. Harry spluttered and spat as salt water landed directly in his open mouth. He swatted with his hands, whipping his soaking wet hair around before playfully glaring at her. She was squinting and rubbing the salt water out of her eyes, but she still wore that cheeky, challenging grin.
“Right, tha’s it. Yeh in for it now.” he howled at her. He reached out for her waist, intending to pick her up and throw her into the white water to wipe that stupid victorious smile off her face.
It didn’t work, but how could he be upset when he was faced with her pretty head popping up out of the white water, face lit up with pure happiness? When he was laughing along with her, his heart threatening to burst out of his chest, all with the stunning background of the most beautiful beach sunset he’d ever seen?
The sun had long set by the time they decided to call it quits. It was getting cold and, as expected, it was starting to drizzle again. They marched up the damp beach together, walking side by side with their shoes in their hands. Neither of them had bothered to bring a towel and the once pleasant island wind was now biting their wet skin. Y/N picked up her pace to warm her muscles and keep up with Harry, whose longer legs were trudging through the sand up toward the shop.
“It’s pretty late…” Harry drawled, craning his neck to observe the bright shining moon that had taken the sun’s place.
Y/N took a few seconds to reply, panting from the exertion. “Yeah.”
“And ’s raining again…”
“Mmhm.” Y/N stole a sideways glance at him. He was smiling, as per usual. And he had that playful glint in his eyes that she adored.
“…Aaaand I live just up there…” He swung his arms like a child as he walked beside her, causing one of his flip flops to repeatedly whack one of her sandals in her grasp.
Endeared, Y/N cracked a smile of her own. “Right…”
“Do you wanna maybe…”
She stopped marching then, as they reached the front of the store. She was hit with the sudden realization that part of her fantasy was becoming real. There was no work to be done at this hour, no Tyler to pull tank tops for, no interruptions. Only Harry, her favorite distraction.
Taken with his own thoughtful musing, Harry walked a few more steps before realizing Y/N had stopped. He turned around to face her, and even in the darkness she could see the flush in his cheeks.
“…spend the night at mine?”
~~~
Harry lived even closer to the beach than Y/N in an even tinier studio. Anne of course had a house a few miles into town that Harry frequented, but he was a grown man. It was more than enough to be working for his mum. As much as he adored her, he did not want to live with her.
His place very much resembled the shack they worked in from the outside. Inside he had four walls, a window, a bed in the middle, an armchair in the corner, and a hammock strung out on the porch. Y/N briefly imagined herself lounging in it, maybe sipping a mango smoothie. It would have been very pleasant if not for the fact that it was just exposed enough to be catching the rain water. A brilliant idea sparked in her brain, one she couldn’t ignore.
“I’m g’na sleep in the hammock,” she declared.
“Uh, fuck no yeh not.” Harry replied immediately, equally as firm.
“Yeah I am. It’ll be nice.”
He huffed, setting his backpack on the nightstand and cursing when it slid off. Y/N failed to fight back laughter as she watched him struggle to fit his bag next to the antiquated lamp on the side table. He swore again, finally deciding to push the lamp to the corner of the table and nearly breaking it in the process.
Having successfully removed his shoes, he sat gingerly on the bed and sighed. “But—but…” He paused, shaking his head and letting out a flustered half-laugh. “It’s wet!”
“So?” Y/N teased with a knowing grin, pleased that he’d taken the bait. All she really wanted to complete her real life daydream was to hear him request for her to sleep beside him.
“Do you know what my mother would do to me if she found out I let you sleep outside in a hammock in the fuckin’ rain?”
Oh she knew. Anne would lose her goddamn mind. As kind and gentle as she was, she demanded respectfulness and courtesy from her Harry. She wouldn’t hesitate to fire her own son for misbehaving, or at least withhold his paycheck for a few weeks.
“Fine,” she gave in with a sigh, leaning her back against the far wall, “you’re right.”
He perked up, turning around sharply to face her. “Sorry, what was tha’?”
Y/N rolled her eyes, already knowing what he was getting at. She ignored him and began undoing the clasps on her own sandals, refusing to repeat herself. Admitting he was right once was far more than enough to feed his already giant ego.
“You said I’m… what? Couldn’t hear you properly…” He had the upper hand now, and he knew it.
“Shut up, asshole.” She tossed her shoe at him, and to her delight, it landed directly on his sunburnt face. Y/N laughed loudly as he swatted the air and proceeded to rub his cheek, grimacing.
“That’s not wha’ you said, you little bitch,” He sent her a pointed smirk but didn’t retaliate, too busy tending to his own wounded skin.
Y/N gasped playfully, “What was that you called me?!” she dropped her jaw, committing to the melodrama of it all, “What would your sweet mother do if she were to find out you called me the b-word?”
With that, the ball was back in her court. Victory just within her grasp.
The light pain in Harry’s cheek had faded, but his pride was still feeling it a little. As his hand moved away from his face, Y/N caught a glimmer of mischief flicking in his eyes. “Don’t bring her into this,” he smiled, “she’s an innocent.”
“No one’s safe.” Y/N fired back immediately, a playful grin pulling at her own cheeks.
“Yeah, you’re definitely not safe,” he taunted. He hauled himself off the bed with intent to exact his revenge on her. She had a lot to be guilty of—the shoe incident, the splashing episode she started, the name-calling, the relentless teasing, and mostly the way she was looking at him right then, with fondness and...lust, unmistakable in her eyes, that was making him lose his mind.
He had her cornered against the far wall. Two hands went out to catch her bare waist and release his wrath on her in the form of tickles. Y/N laughed violently, squirming in his arms and yelping, “Stop it, Harry!” Lust clouded his own still foggy brain as he glanced downward, eyes trailing down her bikini-clad chest to her waist where he held her firmly against him.
Y/N caught him, of course. She was staring at him just as intently. As always, she was enchanted by how beautiful he was. His hair was still damp and she was close enough to see bits of sand hiding in the curls. He was grinning wildly, eyes crinkling, cheeks flushed red, teeth adorably poking his pink bottom lip.
Without warning, he ducked his head pressed his lips to hers. Shock melted away as his mouth molded to hers, igniting an inferno in the pit of her stomach. Likewise, flames of passion were roaring within Harry as desperation took over for rational thought. He kissed her with the same eagerness and intensity with which they both would dive into the ocean, head first with no hesitation. His tongue was salty and sweet against hers. He tasted faintly like the sea and weed and mangoes—everything Y/N loved.
Which made it all the more difficult to pull away.
“We should stop,” she sighed but continued to accept the hot pecks he was dotting on her cheek, her jaw, her neck.
“Why?” he muttered against her skin, pruned hands squeezing her waist tighter.
“Because, we’re all salty and gross…” she wrapped her arms around his neck, anchoring his supple lips at the nape of her neck and shivering at the feeling he gave her. His lips were hot on her skin, lighting a blissful trail of fire wherever they went.
“I don’t mind.”
The pelting rain outside sounded distant to her, like background noise against the vibrations of Harry’s husky voice.
“Well...I do. Besides, we should talk about…whatever this is…” Y/N trailed off, thoughts evaporating into feelings, words melting into breathy whines.
“Wha’s there to talk about?” He pulled away from her neck but she didn’t let him go far. She held his sunburnt cheeks in her palms and let their noses brush against each other as he declared, “’S very simple. You’re in love with me.”
Y/N’s eyes widened and she let out a joyful laugh. She pulled away a millimeter, letting the back of her head graze the wall behind her as she continued to softly, nervously laugh, “You’re crazy, Harry. I’m not in love with you.” The lie tasted salty on her lips, as if the universe did not want to let her forget how delectable his own tasted against hers. She let herself gaze into his eyes, helpless against such a force so far beyond her control.
“You’re lying. I can tell when you look at me like that.”
She was sure he could feel her heart racing in her chest as she let out a breathy sigh, “Like how?”
“Like yeh want me to tell you you’re pretty and then fuck yeh into tha’ bed you fought me over.”
He smirked evilly as he said it, loving the way she shivered in his arms. She whined against his skin, way past pretending his words didn’t affect her. She shut her eyes and pressed another deep, languid kiss to his reddening bottom lip, unable to resist. “And what makes you so sure that’s love, H?” she whispered against his mouth.
“You’re kissin’ me like you’re in love with me, you’re looking at me like you’re in love with me, so, says Occam’s razor, yeh must be in love with me.”
“When did you become a goddamn philosopher?”
“‘M fuckin’ baked, Y/N,” he laughed, his breath tickling her cupid’s bow. “But ‘m also right. Yeh said it yourself.”
“Bullshit, you peaked a while ago.”
“Maybe I’m just fuckin’ smart then, Miss not-so-subtle-at-changing-the-subject.”
“Fine,” she deadpanned. And after a deep inhale: “I love you.”
Her voice was even, but a tsunami of feelings crashed in Y/N’s chest as the words left her lips—relief, joy, adoration, love.
An easy, knowing smile graced Harry’s mouth. “Spectaculah. I love y—“
“No,” she interrupted him with a peck on the lips, “tell me in the morning…when you’re sober. Then…”
She felt the heat rise up her throat and a smile pull at her lips at the vivid images running through her mind. The soft rays of morning sunshine peeking through the window, the sound of waves crashing in the distance, Harry’s naked chest against hers, his mouth muttering sweet, filthy praises across her chest, her tummy, the insides of her thighs…
“Sure thing, my love,” Harry laughed lightly. He had a feeling he knew exactly what was going on behind her red-rimmed eyelids. His own imagination was conjuring up dirty images of himself buried between her legs, basking in her salty skin and breathy whines. But there were softer thoughts, too. Fantasies involving sweet kisses pressed to her lips and her cheeks and the dulcet melody of her laughter and the feeling of her soft hands on his face. He saw her face while she was riding the biggest wave of the morning—lit up with a huge smile and eyes twinkling with the ocean’s reflection in them. He envisioned her soft lips stained orange with mango juice. He saw her cheeky, joyous grin when he was splashing her against the powdery pink backdrop of the sun setting into the sea. The prettiest fuckin’ sight I’ve ever seen.
Come morning, the first thing she heard was the crashing of the waves and Harry’s raspy voice in her ear.
“I’m in love with you, too.”

it was a week later, all healthy and really improving with your surfing skills, when seonghwa asked you on a date. it had been completely unexpected and you truthfully thought you misunderstood him at first.
“did you see that!” you squealed, running in from surfing a wave.
it was still a fairly small accomplishment opposed to what you’ve seen him and his friends do over the past few days, watching shyly from your spot with your aunt and simply waving at them when they pass by.
but you’re just excited that you’re no longer plummeting into the water with an embarrassing splash; and apparently so is seonghwa, watching you with an amused smirk.
“i did,” he chuckles out, watching you sit atop the board to meet his gaze.
he had come over twice within the past week, bringing you soup again before you decided to make him cookies as a thank you. the conversation was still light and casual but it was the small things you were noticing.
how your arms had grazed and bumped clumsily, your shy smile and his knowing smirk as you met each other’s gaze, the way you again fell asleep outside and woke up in your bed. and even with all of that, your heart still goes into overload when he smiles at you like the way he is now.
“you might be better than jongho,” he says, placing his hands on the board and swaying it in the water. you giggle at the movement, grasping onto it gently as your eyes narrow at him playfully.
“you’re lying.”
“you’re right,” he says, chuckling when you stick your hand in the water and splash some up at him. “but you really are getting better.”
“thanks,” you say sweetly, the shy smile on your face with a turn of your head causing his smile to widen.
you were only faintly aware of his wet hands grazing the inside of your leg before a wave crashes down and wobbles the board beneath you. his hand wraps around the top of your knee, squeezing your skin slightly as you squeal. your hand reaches out to grasp his broad tanned shoulder and he smirks seeing your position, knowing a blush on your face will promptly appear.
and when it does he can only chuckle, shaking his head at you with a knowing look. “forget sunscreen again?”
you only narrow your eyes at his teasing, sliding off the board before your feet hit the ocean floor.
“no,” you grumble. he bites his lip to hide his smile, looking over your blushing figure standing in front of him.
and it could be because of how pretty you look, with the sun shining behind you and your body glistening with salt water, or because of how much he wants to spend more time with you that he asks what you’re doing tonight.
“nothing,” you tell him with a shrug. “i was gonna finish that series maybe. i only have two episodes left.” he smirks hearing you talk about the show you started when you were sick, remembering the way you’d tiredly ramble on and on about each episode from your spots on the balcony.
“do you wanna do something tonight instead?”
you raised your eyebrows as you look at him, your fingers nervously dipping into the water. “like what? another bonfire?” but then he shakes his head, not wanting to deal with sneaking away after you or dealing with his friends. he wants something more...private.
just for the two of you.
“nah, maybe getting food or something,” he says and he has to stop himself from closing his eyes in humiliation. get food or something? what an idiot he sounds like. but he supposes he’s never really asked a girl on a date before.
“oh. um. okay, yeah, we can do that,” you say quietly, your heart and mind racing at the image of you and him sitting across a table together. looking like a couple on a-
oh my god, a date. is this a date? is he asking you on a date? there’s no way. you’ve never been on a date before and there’s no way your first is gonna be with a man of his caliber.
he can only smirk at your stuttering, raising an eyebrow as he looks questioningly at you. “you sure? only if you want to.”
“i do,” you blurt out embarrassingly fast, a flustered smile and chuckle leaving you. “i just...is it like...are your friends coming, too?” he turns his head to the side, his tongue coming out to lick at his lips as his hand comes up to fix a strand of your wet hair.
“why would they come on a date?”
and little to the knowledge of both of you, a trio of boy’s watched the whole thing unfold.
“does this fuck not realize we come to the beach, too?” hongjoong asks, board under his arm as he watches you both smile at one another.
“remember when he was like ‘no i don’t like her, i don’t even know her,’” jongho impersonates poorly, yunho smirking as hongjoong asks how he even remembers that in his drunken stupor.
“fuck you,” the younger boy snaps, looking at you guys again and watching seonghwa cup his hands with water and throw it over your head.
it’s a known thing that seonghwa doesn’t smile often, his lips always barely quirked into a smirk or blank expression. but yet there he was, smiling and teasing like a boy who finally learned how to show any sort of emotion; it’s a weird but nice thing for his friends to see.
“why do you think he doesn’t want us to know?” jongho innocently asked. and yunho and hongjoong can only raise an eyebrow at the boy, shaking their heads as they hypothesize that perhaps it’s because they all harass the shit out of each other.
but regardless, they decide to leave you two be, sneak away from the rest of the group and act surprised when seonghwa tells them that night that he’ll be staying in.
Tumblr media
“you’re going on a date, aren’t you?”
your eyes widen the second you hear those words leave your aunt’s mouth, your cheeks flushing and mouth dropping like she accused you of something awful.
“wh-what?” you stutter, pulling at your white dress as you stare down at your sandals. did you try too hard? do you look ridiculous? is that how she was able to tell?
“aw you are!” she squeals, placing her glass of wine down so she can clap excitedly. “is it with that handsome boy who’s been visiting on the balcony?”
a look of guilt and horror crosses your face that immediately causes her to giggle, a wide smirk on her lips.
“oh, c’mon, you didn’t think i don’t hear you guys?”
“i’m sorry,” you immediately babble out, embarassment and shame immediately flooding through you. “i didn’t mean to be-”
she immediately waves her hand dismissively, shaking her head adamantly because she knows where that was going. “don’t you dare apologize, have that boy over every damn day. i’ve never heard you laugh like that.”
your cheeks flush and you let out an awkward chuckle, looking down at your feet to wiggle your toes nervously. “how did you know,” you find yourself mumbling before you can stop, “is it too much?”
“oh, y/n,” she sighs, shaking her head as she throws back her glass of wine. “you look beautiful, don’t start that shit.” you chuckle quietly at her words, your phone vibrating in your hand showing a text from seonghwa.
“oh god, he’s here,” you mutter, looking at your aunt with panicked eyes. “maybe tell him i’m sick again. that i’m not fully better and shouldn’t-”
“don’t even try it,” she demands, placing her glass down before skipping over to you. she runs her fingers through your hair before smiling happily, throwing her thumb up before guiding you over to the door.
“relax and smile, y/n. just have fun, okay? he asked you for a reason.”
and while those words settle you slightly, it does nothing to help you once you walk out the door and see him. his car is black with no doors, seeing clearly into the clean car as he leans back in his seat.
he looks over and smiles when he sees you standing there, the sun low in the sky as your white dress makes you look even more pure than usual; it tugs at something in his chest, something he knows he shouldn’t feel and has been trying to resist.
because he wants to ruin you in the best way. make the blush spread across your cheeks for a reason with the knowledge that he’s the only one able to do that.
“hi,” you say softly, plopping down in the hot leather seat and ripping him from his impure thoughts.
“hey,” he hums, looking over you before his eyes finally meet yours. the look in them eyes makes your heart flutter, biting your lip as you smile at him.
“hi.”
he lets out a chuckle, waiting until you’re buckled in to take off down the street. you squeal at the unfamiliar rush of wind that surrounds your body, sticking your arm out of the exposed door to feel the air on your skin.
“this is cool,” you tell him with a smile. he smirks watching your arm whip through the air, his deep voice mumbling “careful,” when a car in the other lane speeds past.
“i didn’t know you drove. i only ever saw you with your surfboard,” you tease with a smile, giggling when he rolls his eyes and looks at you.
“that’s interesting since someone’s taken it over these days,” he says, chuckling when you reach out and smack his arm lightly.
you had insisted a few times during your lessons that you were gonna buy your own, that you felt bad about using his and making it ‘weathered.’ but he only shook his head and assured you that wasn’t necessary; he also so kindly put that a new board style and size might backtrack all of your improvement.
“you’re the one who said i shouldn’t get one,” you whined, the pout on your face catching his eye and making him realm in the beast inside of him. because while he knows he’s been attracted to you since the first time he saw you and touched you, it seems to be really hitting him in this moment.
something about the wind in your hair and the setting sun, how you’re so happily content just because the car has no doors and you’re surrounded by the salty air. he also noticed within these past few days of you guys hanging out, you’ve gotten a little bit more comfortable around him.
you’re still shy and carry a nervous energy but you’re smiling more, not so hesitant to tease him or smack him lightly. and he hopes that tonight, he’s able to keep you smiling. because if there’s a few things he’s also noticed within these past few weeks, it’s that he likes being the reason behind it.
but of course, because he’s troubled himself and carries darkness anywhere he goes, that quickly goes to shit.
you guys arrive at the restaurant on the outskirts of town, the turquoise building set just a few feet away from the entrance of a smaller beach. he figured this was a suitable place for you (and him), quiet and cute without the lingering stares of people who will see you both at bonfires this summer.
but before you guys can even see sit down, seonghwa guiding you into the restaurant by the small of your back, the dirty blonde is pushed and nearly barrels into you. he grabs you so you don’t fall into the concrete wall, holding you tightly before he turns around to see who even had the balls to do that.
he recognizes them immediately, the three boys who ushered him over and asked if he’d start selling again; he told them he’d let them know later in the night but then ended up swimming with you; and when he’d gone back, they had already left.
so he’s wanting to know what they think they’re doing pushing him.
“what the fuck, soobin?”
the growl in seonghwa’s voice immediately causes you to tense, looking back at the tall boys you remember from the bonfire two weeks ago. you had thought then that they were scary, tall and intimidating and attractive which seems to be the common theme with boys in this beach town.
but right now it was different. and right now, you didn’t recognize seonghwa. he had just been smiling in the car and touching you gently and now he looks about ready to rip someone’s head off.
“where’d you go the other night?”
seonghwa clenches his jaw, not feeling inclined to answer these assholes but also not wanting them to say something in front of you.
“i was around. you were the ones who left.”
a boy with yellow hair looks over your body, seonghwa’s arm still wrapped around your waist that causes the boy to smirk at you; you can only smile politely, hoping that he’ll pity you two and ask his friend to leave seonghwa only.
“we were waiting for your answer.”
seonghwa’s body stiffens and you furrow your eyebrows together, a knot in the pit of your stomach at the way he disconnects his arm from you and turns to meet your gaze.
“how ‘bout you go get us a table? i’ll be right in.”
and even though he phrased it as a question, you know it’s a demand. you know with the look his dark eyes are giving you that you’re not about to deny him. but you hold his stare for a few seconds, like you’re trying to calm him with just a soft, hopeful look, before you open your mouth to speak.
but it gets cut off by another voice.
“how ‘bout we all eat together?” the boy with yellow hair suggests, causing seonghwa to look back at him. “we can talk over your....opportunity and you let us know tonight.”
“no,” he growls out simply, turning his head back to you and nodding toward the restaurant. “go. i’ll be in in a second.”
you swallow nervously at his harsher tone and nod your head, your eyes meeting the three boys behind seonghwa before sending a small, parting smile there way. “okay,” you tell him, voice squeaker than before and sending a pang of guilt through seonghwa.
you’re about to take a step toward the restaurant when someone grabs your arm a bit too roughly, pulling you back to the group and sending a surprise squeal through the air. seonghwa immediately breaks the harsh grip off you, shielding you with his body before pushing at the boy.
“don’t fucking touch her,” seonghwa growls, stepping toward him as he narrows his eyes threateningly. and you think it’s probably a mix of the animalistic way in which he said it and the nerves running through you at being grabbed, so harshly and so familiarly, that’s causing your stomach to be in knots.
“what, does your newest bitch of the week not know you’re a-”
“yeonjun,” the tallest boy growls, pushing seonghwa back slightly as he reprimands his friend.
“c’mon, soobin, she’s too pretty not to tell,” he says and the words make your stomach twist in disgust. you don’t like the way he’s looking at you, roaming over your figure and smirking when he looks at your slightly fearful face; you’d think you’d be used to violence but this only serves to make you more upset.
“what’s your name, babe?”
another annoyed growl leaves seonghwa as he tries to go after the boy again, you hand reaching out to grab his before you can even think twice. you pull him back with a small shake of your head, dragging him next to you before looking at him.
“let’s just go, seonghwa,” you say quietly. because something tells you these boys won’t stop, that they’ll keep poking at him until they’re all sporting black eyes and busted face; but you just want him away from them.
“he can’t do that, baby girl,” yeonjun says, looking at you with a conniving pout. “first, he owes us a few favors.”
“no i don’t,” the boy next to you grunts lowly, the tension and anger radiating off of him making you more and more uneasy.
but he knew when he first started to sell for soobin a few summers ago that it was gonna go wrong. it was obvious in the way yunho and hongjoong tore into him, told him what degenerates him and his friends were and that they’re not a good crowd to be around.
he was young and desperate though, and frankly just tired of being ignored by everyone in his life. so he figured if he was gonna be alone, he might as well be alone with money and respect. but then the sales got bigger, the drugs got harder and the risk of getting caught just started to become too much.
so he left last summer swearing to himself he would’t be doing it anymore.
“you can’t just not do it anymore,” soobin says, a lot more subtle and ‘professional’ than his other loud-mouthed friend; seonghwa never liked him and now he sees why his dislike was immediate.
“who are you to tell me that?” seonghwa growls, your hand tightening on his when he tries to move forward again. “you stupid fucks were the ones who asked me and now i don’t have a choice?”
“exactly,” yeonjun says, the snide smirk on his face that makes even you narrow your eyes at him now. and the yellow-haired boy notices because he only meets your gaze, his tongue peeking out to lick his chapped lips.
“unless you wanna make a trade,” he continues lowly, taking a step closer to you that makes you move slightly behind seonghwa. “we’ll drop it and you give us this pretty little-”
seonghwa rips his hand from yours, sensing your discomfort along with his own anger, and immediately lands on a punch on the boy’s face; a gasp leaves your mouth as the two boys work to push him away, yeonjun letting out a manic  laugh like he’d been waiting for that moment.
“that was really fuckin’ stupid, seonghwa,” soobin growls at the boy, pushing yeonjun to the boy in the back and telling them to go to the car. “you knew when you started dealing that we were gonna-”
“i’m not talking about this with you right now,” seonghwa growls from beside, his eyes narrowing as he pushes the boy back.
“then you shouldn’t have been a pussy and-”
“seonghwa, please.”
and it’s like when he hears your soft voice, he remembers you’re even here, immediately turning to see you looking at him with panic and pleading in your wide eyes. he feels dread pool in his stomach almost right after, remembering that this was supposed to be a date and now he’s just punched someone in the face and is ready to do it again.
he immediately takes your hand in his, eyes roaming your face with anger and tension so evident it makes you pout. this would usually be the time that you’d be on the verge of an anxiety attack, breathing labored and face pale at the idea of conflict and fighting and being in the way.
but right now, you only wanna take him away from all of that.
so it’s why, even though he doesn’t deserve it, you give soobin a polite, dismissive smile before tightening your hold on seonghwa’s hand and walking the opposite way. you’re surprised by how easily seonghwa follows, waiting until you’re about a block away to stop the both of you.
“y/n, i’m sorry,” his deep voice mumbles, unsure of what to make of your silence. he wouldn’t be surprised if you tell him what a piece of shit he is, if you yell at him for wasting your time or demand to be taken home or accuse him of being a degenerate like yeonjun and soobin.
because he asked you on a date and you were expecting something normal like dinner; but with all of his bullshit, he couldn’t even do that.
“it’s okay,” you say quietly, smiling up at him as you watch the storm in his brown eyes. he can only chuckle humorlessly, shaking his head at how softly and honestly you’re looking at him.
“it’s not,” he says lowly, the tone in his voice one you haven’t heard from him yet.
because while it stills holds annoyance, he also sounds... disappointed in a way. maybe because now you’ve seen some of the anger and rage you knew he had in there. how his cold demeanor isn’t just something he puts up and how maybe there’s a little bit more to how indifferent he seems everyday.
but you’ve also seen softer sides of him. how he helped you at the beach and brought you food and for once in your life has made you feel like someone besides your aunt has been there for you - all while only knowing him for a month.
so while that’s a little concerning to you, you can’t find it in yourself to care. you just want him to smile and laugh and perhaps even tease you tonight, turn your date into something that won’t leave you both upset or tense.
“it is,” you squeak again, smiling up at him and the sight alone causes his chest to ache. why are you smiling at him like that? he doesn’t deserve it and it shouldn’t be making him feel like this.
“how do you figure?” he asks lowly, bringing his hand to your face to tuck a stray piece of hair behind your ear. “i fucked up this date.” he’s shocked when you roll your eyes and shake your head, tightening your hold on his hand before telling him to follow you.
“what?” he asks in surprise. but you only turn around and cock your head to the side.
“we’re still on a date,” you say quietly because even though you’re feeling bold and adamant about making him feel better, you’re still shy in these attempts. “and i saw something that might be fun.”
his eyebrow raises, a smile quirking at his lips at the way you’re looking at him and trying to be ‘in charge.’ but it’s also one of the cutest things he’s ever seen in his life, so who is he not to go along with it?
Tumblr media
“look at the nemo’s! oh, my gosh and the dory’s!”
seonghwa has watched you squeal and run around the aquarium for about an hour now, dragging him by the hand from exhibit to exhibit. the colorful fish and exotic animals had held his attention for all of ten minutes before your excited giggles and bright eyes had him all too distracted.
it only made him more inclined to smile at you, taking your hand in his and interlacing your fingers. and just because he knew it would make you completely perturbed, he’s still going with his current story that he has no idea who nemo and dory are.
“dory’s the clownfish, right?”
you snap your head to the side and stare at him with wide eyes, in disbelief the boy beside you really has no idea what you’re talking about. “you really have never seen that movie?”
he smiles softly at the pout on your face, resisting the urge to laugh as he nods his head. “afraid i haven’t,” he hums lowly, the look he’s giving you far too intimate for a public space; luckily, the establishment was mostly empty given that it’s only open for another hour.
“well we’re gonna have to watch it one day,” you say casually, looking at the tank and tracing your finger lightly over it. a small smile makes its way on your face as a small fish daringly swims over, following your finger that’s rubbing in small circles.
“already planning the second date, huh?” he hums, leaning his head against the glass. your finger stops and cheeks flush, looking at him with a shy, flustered look. you have no one to blame but yourself, though, you’re the one who wanted him to be happy and teasing tonight.
but still, it doesn’t make you any less of a bumbling idiot.
“i-i mean, well, i just...it’s a classic and-”
his chuckle is deep and low and sends butterflies through your stomach, his hand reaching out to smooth down your hair. his touch is soft and gentle and you don’t even realize your instinct to flinch away isn’t anywhere to be found.
“alright, a second date then. given how this one started, i think i’m pretty lucky.”
“it wasn’t that bad,” you mumble, a smirk pulling at your lips because even you can admit watching your date punch someone in the face is a pretty bizarre way to start. and you’re also not ignorant of the fact that you heard some...concerning things.
but they’ll be time to discuss that later tonight, maybe. not while he’s smiling at you the way he is and accepting your atrocious, accidental request for a second date.
“thought i told you not to lie,” he says lowly, his voice dropping as his hand snakes down to your lips. you don’t even breathe as he traces them gently, watching closely as your breath becomes strangled and your cheeks flame.
“i-i’m not,” you squeak out, relaxing slightly when his finger drops from your mouth and moves to tuck a piece of hair behind your ear. “i’m still having fun. so... how bad could it have been, really?”
and the shy way in which you say it leaves his heart soft again, biting at his lip so he doesn’t immediately beam down at you.
“you’re cute, you know that?” he mumbles.
you can’t tell if you swallow nervously at the compliment itself or the way he looks at you so softly. but you know your gaze automatically drops to your feet so he doesn’t see your shy smile, giggling inappropriately and causing him to narrow his eyes teasingly.
“why are you laughing?” he asks softly, the smallest hint of a smirk on his face as amusement laces into his voice.
“because you make me nervous,” you admit, looking up at him. “more than usual.”
a breathy chuckle leaves his mouth as he moves his hand away from you and puts it on the glass, watching that same clownfish that was swirling around your finger move to his.
“dory’s not scared of me,” he says lowly, not even needing to see your face to know you look outraged and annoyed. “so you don’t have to be.”
his words tug at your heart and make you feel warm, knowing that later tonight they’re gonna ring in your head over and over again. but if you dwell on them now, you think you’ll probably end up bursting into tears and clinging on to him.
so you can only whine “that’s not dory,” as you poke him in the back gently.
he looks up and smiles at you, shrugging his shoulders before intertwining your fingers. his eyes catch the exhibit for sea turtles and he’s quick to guide you over, excited to see just how happy you’ll get when you see crush.
and even though he’s obviously seen finding nemo before, he listens as you tell him all about the plot, the characters, the utter tragicness of the classic disney movie. and the topic only carries on into dinner, you guys walking back to the car hand-in-hand before driving back to town.
he got a chocolate shake that you took a sip from and he stole half of your fries which ended with him getting a spitball to the face; he said it was deserved since you were getting stuck with diner food at the end of your date.
except it wasn’t quite the end yet because you guys walked down to the beach afterward, past the rocks you’ve talked on twice and the ocean that you frolick in every day.
“you wanna go night swimming?” you tease, his serious side eye causing you to giggle.
your arms bump as you pad down the beach, sandals in one hand that you’re twirling nervously. you had so much fun tonight and you know it’s ending but you don’t want it to.
you wanna stay with him for the rest of the night and get to know more about him. you wanna know not only what those boys were asking him about earlier but more about him as a person. why he sometimes seems like two different people, someone sweet and soft and caring but then hard and cold and rough.
he intrigues you as much as he scares you and you think for someone like you, damaged and vulnerable and prone to abuse, that that’s a very bad thing. everyone in your life hurts you so why would he be different? you’re sure it’s only a matter of time before he does and you’re not sure if you’ll be able to-
“what are you thinking about?”
you don’t even realize you two have stopped walking until you hear his voice, your feet still under the sand and the moon casted down on him. it should be a sin to be as handsome as he is, his hair slicked back with perfect features and  sun-kissed skin.
“nothing,” you tell him softly. because as much as you wanna know about the beginning of this date, you’d never ask him tonight. your heart is too full and excited and you don’t wanna risk ruining the mood and making him upset.
his eyebrow quirks up because he knows you’re lying, but he’s not gonna push you tonight. because he knows you have questions and he’s a coward and can’t bring himself to answer them yet. he can’t risk you wanting to stop hanging out, especially after how great tonight was, despite everything, and especially after he hasn’t kissed you at least once.
so you two just stand there, thoughts swarming in your heads about the other, but mostly overwhelmed by how thick the air feels between you. how he steps closer and your eyes widen slightly but not daring to make a move.
“thank you for coming tonight,” he suddenly says. “or thank you for staying, is what i should be saying.”
“thank you for asking me,” you say back sweetly, rocking on your feet as you smile at him. “i...i had fun. a lot of fun.” he smiles at your words and tone, watching as the wind blows a strand of hair across your face before he reaches out and moves it away.
“yeah?” he hums lowly, his eyes roaming over your face as he runs his hand down your arm.
“yeah,” you say with a smile, ignoring the way his touch causes you to shiver and blaming it on the second gust of wind that comes. but you’re both aware of why it happens.
like how you’re aware of the way you’re both moving closer and closer, his eyes falling to your mouth and your lips parting as shallow breaths escape them. his warm body is radiating heat against your cold one and you’re welcoming every sensation coursing through you, excitement and warmth but also so much nervousness and embarrassment.
because when he starts leaning closer, although you also start, you blurt out, “this was my first date.”
he stops leaning but doesn’t pull away, only raises his eyebrow as he looks at you. you swallow at the way he’s staring deep into you, your eyes falling to his lips before back to his dark, brown eyes.
“so i, uh...” you stutter, swallowing again when he smirks and leans a little closer; almost like he’s teasing you. “so i’ve never done this before.”
he hears the way nerves and embarrassment seep into your voice, looking at him wide-eyed with pink cheeks and now he’s really never wanted to kiss someone more in his life.
it’s why he takes your face in his hands, his palms cupping your cheeks and causing a breathy exhale to leave your mouth. “good,” he says, his thumbs stroking your face as he leans down and presses a feather light kiss to your lips.
it feels almost like nothing but still shocks you, not even having the time to close your eyes before you’re looking at him again; because that was one thing you knew, you knew you weren’t supposed to kiss someone with your eyes open.
“g-good?” you squeak after a few seconds, not even sound enough to feel embarrassed by the shake and waver in your voice.
“good,” he confirms and if the look on his face and smirk on his lips didn’t make you weak enough, his next words absolutely do.
“i wanna be your first.” and then he covers your mouth with his again.

Beachy Keen - Katsuki Bakugou x Reader
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN ANY OF THESE CHARACTERS, THEY BELONG TO KOHEI HORIKOSHI
When you first met the blonde-haired boy, you never thought that he knew what being relaxed and carefree felt like. He exuded self-confidence and was always fired-up, but you could tell that it came from a deep place of longingness, anger, and insecurity. You knew enough of Midoriya and Bakugou’s past to know that their once friendly childhood became a toxic relationship pretty quickly. You understand where both boys were coming from. Izuku, who hadn’t developed his quirk for the most part of his childhood, was always there to lend a helping hand - especially to Bakugou. Then, years later, all of a sudden Bakugou wasn’t the star of his middle school. And the explosive boy, the pride and joy of all of those around him, all of a sudden did not meet the criteria of “future number one hero”. The years of showered affections, constant praise, and “can I have your autograph for the future?”s all ceased to exist now. However, both boys, at least to you, were nice. Well, Midoriya was nice, Bakugou was just kind of civil - which was a lot to ask for from the hero-in-training.
It was currently your second year at UA and all of the students had a long weekend off due to most of the teachers attending a hero banquet. Momo, being the sweet girl she is, wanted to splurge a bit on her friends and take them all to their family’s beach house on the coast of Okinawa. Everyone was so excited, especially you. You hadn’t had the opportunity to go to the beach in ages and you couldn’t wait to feel the soft sand in between your toes, feel the salty wind on your face, and relish in the yummy seafood. The school graciously allowed your class to take one of the buses and provided you with a cleared driver.
“Alright everyone! Make sure you have your luggage and double check for sunscreen! We do not want any sunburns and make sure to bring sunglasses if you have light eyes - the sun’s rays can be very damaging!” Iida said, listing his final instructions before the students boarded the bus.
“So Y/N, who are you rooming with now that Hagakure’s sick?” Ochaco asked you sweetly, stuffing her big trunk into the bottom of the bus.
“No one, I guess. I think I still get to keep the room,” you say, sticking your suitcase neatly next to hers. You step onto the bus and find a seat that was next to Mina and across from Kirishima and Bakugou.
“Oh, Y/N! Hey!” Mina said cheerily, giving you a smile.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” You ask, setting your carry-on backpack at your feet.
“Oh nothing, just Bakugou sulking as usual!” Mina responds, nudging your elbow and motioning over to the boy across from you. You were kind of confused. No one had done anything recently to get him into this pissed off state.
“Well… what poked the beast?” You said quietly to the pink-haired girl next to you.
“Kirishima had to pull out of rooming with him because he had forgotten that he promised he would room with Sero, and now he doesn’t have a room.” Mina said, rustling around in her own bag to fish out her phone.
“Huh,” you say. “Have you asked Momo if there’s another room?” You ask, now facing the boys across from you.
“Tch, what do you think? I’m not an idiot,” he says, kind of glaring at you. You knew that there was only one solution to this predicament since you didn’t want Bakugou sleeping on the couch in one of the many living rooms. That would give anyone a bad back, and for Bakugou, an even worse temper.
“U-um, you can room with me since Hagakure can’t make it.” Bakugou looked at you incredulously and Kirishima gave him a wild grin.
“That’s a GREAT idea Y/N! Quick thinking!” Kirishima applauded.
“Have you dumbasses lost your minds?! There’s no way I’m rooming with her!” He exclaims. It kind of hurt you that you could basically see steam coming from his ears due to how mad and opposed to the proposition of the two of you sharing a room. You were about to respond but Mina beat you to the chase.
“Well Bakugou, what other option do you have? Breaking your back and not being able to enjoy anything on this vacation?” The pink-haired girl retorted, sticking up for you. You shoot her a grateful smile and turn back to Bakugou.
“I’m sure that there’ll be two separate beds and we can stagger times in the room if you want.” You assure him, trying to convince him. Bakugou leans his head back, closes his eyes, and sighs.
“Fine. But I swear to god, if there aren’t two beds I’m going to lose my mind.”
Spoiler alert, there weren’t two beds, but a single queen size bed in the newly cleaned room. You drop your bags in shock and slowly turn your head to see Bakugou’s, who was right next to yours. If Bakugou was mad then he was doing a fine job hiding it because all you could see was a blank expression.
“I-I can see if Momo has a blow-up mattress and I can sleep on that.” You say quickly, trying not to make him uncomfortable. Bakugou simply shakes his head as he rolls his suitcase onto the left side of the bed.
“Don’t be stupid. There’s enough space for each of us, and if you think I’m gonna let you suffer after… doing this then you're wrong.” He says bluntly, already starting to unpack his clothes. You should’ve made yourself look away and not be so nosy, because when you caught a glimpse of a pair of grey boxers, you could’ve sworn that your face lit up like a Christmas tree. You tugged your suitcase along with you to the right side and put away all of your clothes into the side dresser but kept out a simple orange bikini set for later that day. After the two of you finished unpacking, you made your way to the main living room to see the rest of the class lounging on the plush sofas.
“So, who’s ready to hit the beach?” Momo asked, earning cheers from the class.
Their day on the sand covered shore was nothing short of divine. You all played beach volleyball, went swimming, and even tanned for a bit until the sun started to set, and then you all headed back to the beach house. For the first night, you, Sero, Jirou, Koda, and Todoroki were in charge of dinner. You decided to do an easy pasta bar so that everyone got to pick out what they wanted. After promising to be careful, Momo allowed the class to eat while sitting on the couches and watching a movie, which ended up being Clueless, much to Kaminari and Mineta’s protests to instead watch a more mature rated film. You ended up sitting next to Bakugou, but the two of you didn’t talk much - you were much more invested in the movie playing on the flatscreen. The class decided to pause halfway through to get some dessert which were pre-packaged ice cream cones. Out of nowhere, Bakugou called your name and tossed you one. You looked up at him with a raised brow which just caused Bakugou to scoff in response.
“You like (favorite flavor) the best, so I thought you’d want it.” He says plainly, grabbing a vanilla cone for himself. You gave him a smile.
“Thank you Bakugou, that was really kind of you,” you say sweetly as the two of you head back to your spots on the couch.
“Yeah, whatever.”
“YES! FINALLY!” Mina cheered as Cher and Josh kissed on the staircase. The scene even warranted cheers from some of the boys. Josh’s gesture made you melt as you gently sank into the couch. That is, until your shoulders were met with something hard. You turned your head to see Bakugou’s arm which was there, but he retreated it immediately.
“Sorry,” he murmurs, eyes still facing the screen.
Okay, he is acting weird. First the ice cream and now this? He wouldn’t normally apologize for something like this. You shake the thought from your mind as you help the rest of the class clean up after the movie finished and turn off the lights. You made your way back to your room, only to see Bakugou in nothing but his boxers. The grey boxers. Flustered, you turn around and cover your face with your hands.
“Sorry sorry sorry!” You squeal, voice muffled by your palms. “I’ll wait til you’re changed.”
“I am. This is what I sleep in.” He responds as you hear him lift the covers and let them fall back on his bare chest. Your body temperature must’ve risen by at least 10 degrees because you felt like you were about to faint.
“O-oh.” You force yourself to turn around and grab your pajamas, booking it to the bathroom to change in privacy. You were horrified by what was in your hands. Your pajamas were the only somewhat skimpy set you owned - tiny little shorts with lacy on the bottom and a tank top with lace for the straps. Swallowing the large lump in your throat, you forced yourself into the set and then looked at yourself in the mirror.
If Bakugou can be fine wearing just boxers around me, then I can certainly be fine with wearing a tank top and shorts around him. After giving yourself a reassuring nod, you march yourself back into your room, stuff your clothes from the day in a hamper, and get into bed next to the blonde. You weren’t facing him so you couldn’t see, but his cheeks danced with an ever so slight shade of red.
“Okay so how is this gonna work,” You ask, looking between him and the space in between the two of you.
“You stay on your side, I’ll stay on mine.” He states, looking into your eyes for approval. Giving a nod, you turn so your back is facing him and turn off your light. You try to make yourself feel comfortable in the silky sheets, but your entire body is freezing. You really should’ve packed better pajamas. A few minutes pass as your body is shaking until Bakugou speaks up.
“Oi, dumbass, what’s wrong with you?” He asks. As rude as his words could’ve been interpreted, you knew they came from a place of caring, so you turned around to face him, only for your noses to be just mere inches away from the other.
“I-I’m just cold I’ll be fine.” You say meekly, trying to avert your eyes and look at anything else in the room.
“Tch, sure.” He says simply, turning away from you this time. An uncomfortable silence graces the two of you until the boy decides to break it again.
“You looked better than usual today. In the orange.” You hear him say softly. Your breath hitched as your brain comprehended the words, making your cheeks turn red. “And your taste in ice cream flavors is at least respectable.” You couldn't help it - you giggled at his words. This made Bakugou whip around to face you as your hand went up to cover your mouth. “What the hell? I’m trying to give you a compliment and be nice and shit dumbass!” He growls, giving you a glare. You manage to calm yourself down but keep a huge grin on your face.
“I know, and it’s really, really sweet but seriously? Ice cream? That’s what makes you say ‘oh yes, that’s the girl I wanna date.’”. You were giggling again, but you were shocked when Bakugou let a little smile grace his face.
“Shut up, I’m new to this whole thing.” He says, smoothly wrapping his arm around your shoulders. You don’t flinch when his hand makes contact with your skin - it’s like it was natural to you.
“Katsuki Bakugou,” you say, a twinkle in your eyes, “I like you too.”
“I-I didn’t say that!” He protests, slight panic in his eyes.
“You didn’t have to.” You finish, tucking a stray piece of hair away from his face. His response was to pull you close to him which made you panic a little this time.
“Relax,” he says, “you were cold and now you won’t be.” He says matter-of-factly. Your face settles into a dreamy smile as you lay your head against his broad chest. The beat of his heart lulled you into a peaceful sleep and Bakugou followed you shortl with  a stupid smile on his face. Lets just say, that for the rest of the trip, you two didn’t stray too far from each other. And Bakugou made sure to grab you a (favorite flavor) ice cream cone before anyone else could get to it first.
