Sufi Master Younus AlGohar’s discourse earlier today on 18th March 2021

When you become a Sufi, you follow a different law, a mystical law. Your judgment is different. You will be judged by a different criteria, not the same criteria everybody else is judged by. Because God doesn't trust their intentions. Their intentions are so dark God doesn’t even want to look at them. Your heart is activated the outcry of your heart reaches the empyrean of God.

God is aware of what you are doing because you are in contact with God. You represent God. God wants you to be a model. When you represent God, God wants you to be a model, not doing anything that can earn a bad name and bad reputation for God and Sufism. So making wrong assumptions about others is severely discouraged.

Some people are so curious to know what others are up to. If they find out that someone is going to the casino, they will spread that news to the entire world. If a common man does it, they say, ‘you are a Sufi’’, and to a Zakir e Qalbi (One whose heart is activated), they say, ’It doesn’t suit you’. God hides people's flaws! Why are you exposing them? Why are you doing the opposite of what God does?

If you claim to love God adopt the same character as God! As a Sufi, you should not have a bad conjecture for people. Do not make assumptions about what others are doing or up to. Mind your own business!

Do not spy on others! In day to day language, don't be a stalker. Do not spy on others, do not stalk on others and do not backbite!

I like to remember you young, glowing aurulent, the sun reflecting off you the way wine travels through itself in a glass filled with ice cubes, thick, velvety strings that move like lava inside their blushing light, your soft edges like floating tendrils that fall onto the eye and can’t be looked at directly but are still seen–I loved you. I loved you the way the sun loved you, the way it could never get enough of you, longed to hold you in a sea of boundless golden light until you became light. In an older sun I call out to you, watch you run to me, joy-filled, my own joy brimming until it spills over into the place where there is not a care or worry about when you’ll be gone. I like to stop time there, in the endless summer of you, your warmth in such overabundance that I can almost take you for granted. I do, because I am human, and you are still so alive. I imagine now that there is light in a place we can’t see, but you’re there, all of you light, seeping gently down into bone, into ash, carried through your scattered earth, resting everywhere, infinitely golden. When we call out to you, you hear us. You build a bed for us, a nest of river birches, dry and warm and deep as saffron and we lie there with you, an imagined heaven made real.

A letter to myself ;

The Angsty Adventurer of 2018

Hey, you've grown wonderfully. Thank you for keeping up. All the tears were worth it, all the pain and all the wounds.

You've finished your goals of collecting more memories, of watching a hundred movies that taught you more than a hundred lessons. You rode the go-cart twice, carousel and flying fiesta like a kid. You learned how to ride a horse all by yourself. Last summer you rode the zip line, one of the best days of your life.

The adventure always awaits you. And of course adventure is more memorable if you spend it with your love ones.

Being a school girl, you did so great. Even if you didn't get the grades you expected you've tried so hard. Thank you for always trying and not giving up. Let's try not to procrastinate this 2019 okay? One day, you'll realize what you really want to do for the rest of your life. For now, let's just wait for it but still think of it okay?

You've tried to be a good daughter, sister, granddaughter, and a friend. Remember the first time you slept over at Rica Mae's house? And the second one too, at her 16th birthday. It was full of realizations and late night talks. You've been a great pain in the ass as a daughter, a sister and as a Lola's girl, but thank God they're patient and loving. I know how hard you tried to be kind. To all the problems that made you strong.

I can feel that 2019 will be crazy af. Full of memories to make, adventures and traveling to do. You've lived your life to fullest and you bloomed like the most beautiful flower in the whole universe.

This 2019, your goal is to still make memories, to do more adventures and traveling. Let's skip the 100 movies and make them a 30-day challenge, just think of how it will go and plan it more. Let's reconnect with books again, I know you missed reading a four hundred paged book and trust me they missed you too. One goal for this year is to write 100 poems instead of watching a hundred movies. Keep your phone away from you because this years is your year, taking care of your eyes is the the number one goal.

Always be kind and choose to be happy.

Less anxiety and more self love.

what time do you like the look of? I think 10pm is the quietest black, not the darkest, but the quietest--everything seems to finally lull, come to soft end, the sky sinking its tired shoulders in anticipation of rest. peeling back night, watching it take shape: apartment buildings that existed in a dream have their lights on, contrasting the black sky behind them, coming to life as the mind remembers it, tries to make sense of it. fighting to stay awake, to not miss what little freedom awaits if i want it, if i want not to sleep through it. the quiet house, the muted hum of the fridge and the floorboards creaking overhead to the aftershock of footsteps, music softly playing, the rabbit slowly chewing, the heater turning on to keep us august-warm in our beds. the soft yellow light above, bathing what breathes below it in something like sunset glow.
