Mishaps in the potionology classroom

Malleus x reader

A late-night tutoring session turned into a night of frantically looking through textbooks and babysitting a baby dragon.

We all know what started this, I would die for this little guy he’s precious, no spoiler warning cos I’m not on JP server lol.

What were you going to tell Lillia? How well will Silver take this? How is Sebek going to kill you? These were the questions that floated through your mind as you held a baby dragon prince in your arms. What were you going to do now… after an incident like this you were surely going to be on some fae hit list.

It was an accident you swear, but that didn’t matter now did it, how impromptu tutoring session come to this?

It all started when you asked Malleus for some assistance with your potionology class homework, you wouldn't normally ask someone like him who probably had something better to do than tutor you but it was late at night and you were desperate. You had spotted him out the window of your room in Ramshackle when the idea popped into your head. Ask him a few questions out the window and it would be over, right?

Wrong.

“Tsunotaro do you have a minute to spare?” you asked him as he turned his head up in surprise

As always he answered with a smile “Why yes of course I do, I always have time for you my dearest perfect.” relief flooded your features and you started to explain your situation.

“There are a few questions on this potionology homework that aren't clicking, I dont think it will take too long but would you like to come inside it's colder than I thought out there.” How could you resist, it was only the proper thing to do no? He is a prince after all, and it was indeed unusually cold out tonight it couldn't hurt to invite him into your dorm.

You quickly rush to the door to let him in, guiding him to your room where Grimm was, as expected still sound asleep on your bed belly up snoring. “Please excuse him, you know how he is.” you sigh as he chuckled,

“Please don’t worry, now what did you need help with my dear” Your heart skipped a beat almost dropping the extra chair you were bringing over to your desk.

Sitting down and clearing your throat you begin your impromptu tutoring session with Malleus “W-we’ll there's this part here-”

With Malleus’s help, you quickly progressed to the last question but as you read it your eyes grew wide, how could you overlook this? “Using the recipe provided on page 324 of the textbook please recreate the potion you have been studying. Oh god, how did I miss Professor Crewel telling us about that in class?” you bury your face in your hands in defeat.

Unbeknownst to you a smile grew on Malleuses face “Worry not child of man, shall we go to the potionology classroom? I’m sure even the spirits that roam the halls of the school would not dare to stop you if I came along.”

“Is that really ok? I mean it's midnight we aren't even supposed to be out of our dorms at this time of the night.” lifting your head you looked at him with worry in your eyes.

“You may place your trust in me, I shall take the fall if anything were to happen.” You sigh giving into desperation for a second time tonight.

And that's how you were now stuck in the potionology classroom with a baby dragon frantically calling Grimm for help. Was it the best thing to do at the moment? No. But what else could you do? Calling a professor was out of the question, you could be expelled for something like this. Calling one of the other first years was also out of the question, you didn't want to drag them into this either. So you went to your last resort, Grimm.

“Y/N where are you do you know what time it is?” Grimm sleepy shouted into the phone.

“Grimm I’m sorry for waking you up but I’m in a sticky situation right now, I’ll explain everything later but right now I need you to come down to the potionology classroom it's urgent-” Just then little dragon Malleus decided he was bored and wanted out of your arms, “Hey Tsunotaro stay still-” it was then that the little guy swung his tail up knocking the phone out of your hands and onto the floor, effectively ending the call.

“Well at least that might get him to come over here quicker,” you sighed as you tried to wrangle Malleus to stay in your arms. “What are we going to do with you little Tsunotaro, I can only assume that what we made and accidentally splashed onto you was an age-reversal potion of some kind.” you held him out hands under his arms like someone would hold a long cat.

A few minutes later Grimm slams the door open “Y/N, are you ok!” Grimm shouted out of breath from the long run over to the potionology classroom.

“Yeah sorry to worry you Grimm, Tsunotaro made me drop the phone,” you said as you turned towards Grimm, bringing the little dragon closer to your body.

With a confused expression, he cocked his head to the side and pointed at the little guy in your arms, “Is that?”

“Yeah” Filling Grimm in on the situation you sat down on the floor and subconsciously began to play with Malleus’s little feet, petting him as if he were a cat. In your defense, he was cat-shaped and sized and he seemed to begin to relax in your lap as well.

“So what do we do now?” Grimm asked now coming closer to the little dragon in your lap to get a closer look.

“Well if you could pass me that textbook and help me look for a solution to this before anyone finds out that would be great.” You looked at him with a tired smile.

A few minutes had passed and Grimm walked over to you and pulled at your sleeve too afraid of what would happen if the sleeping dragon in your lap woke up. He looked up at you and back down to the textbook in his hand pointing at a particular sentence in the page. You quietly read it aloud “There is no way to reverse the effects of the potion, the amount of time the potion is in effect is determined by the amount of potion the individual comes in contact with.” you sighed in relief, from what you could tell only a few drops had landed on him. “Judging by the table here he should be back to normal in a few hours,” you finally allowed yourself to release the breath you were holding. Now looking back down at little baby Malleus in your lap you could finally take in how absolutely adorable he was, his tiny wings, those eyes that were slightly disproportionate to the rest of his head, the way he squished his little head into your stomach. Looking back up at Grimm you smiled “Ok let’s clean up the evidence and go back to Ramshackle to get some rest, we might have a little explaining to do tomorrow.”

Somehow you and Grimm had managed to get back to ramshackle without incident and without waking the sleeping dragon in your arms. Upon entering the dorm Grimm spoke up “So where are ya gonna put baby Tsunotaro for tonight? Because I am not giving up my spot in bed.” Grimm stood defiantly in front of your shared bed.

“Grimm please dont be stubborn, it's just for one night, plus he is the future ruler of the Briar Valley, who knows what hitlist the fae will put us on if he gets mad” You stare at Grimm with a fearful expression (fake of course but Grimm doesn't have to know that). And with that, the three of you were off to bed. Although things might have turned out in Grimm's favor because for the rest of that night every time you weren't holding little Malleus in your arms, he would whine and make a fuss until you would take him back into your arms against your warm body for cuddles.

As per usual the next morning you awoke to your alarm clock blaring from the bedside table. As you groaned you attempted to move to turn the wretched thing off but instead, you were met with the realization someone was holding you, preventing you from moving. “Allow me a few more minutes of bliss please dear.” a husky low voice borderline growled into your ear as one of his arms reached over you to shut off the alarm clock.

“Malleus?!” this is not what you were expecting to wake up to this morning. You thought you would wake up with a tiny little dragon in your arms if your calculations were correct, maybe the potion didn't work as well on fae? You thought as you stared up at his handsome face who stared back at you.

“Yes, my dear prefect? Is something the matter?” he looked at you inquisitively, surely he didn't think this was normal right? To wake up and just be cuddling with someone?

“Ah well um I just thought I would be waking up to a little dragon this morning.” you laughed awkwardly as you tried to relax in his hold.

“Worry not, a potion as weak as that would not have such an effect on me. Oh or are you perhaps disappointed at the fact you no longer get to see me as an infant? Lilla has told me I was quite cute back then.” he chuckles as your red face burying yourself in the sheets.

“He isn't wrong, you were very adorable,” you spoke softly from under the sheets.

Malleus then suddenly pulled your body closer to his, ”Am I no longer cute now dear? Oh how you wound me” he spoke as he tucked his face into the crook of your neck.

If you thought you were red before, now you were probably even redder than Riddle's hair “Well I… I think your quite handsome now…” you whispered as your hand moved to stroke his hair. “Not that you weren't handsome before this or anything! I just-”

“Will you two get a room or something?! Can't a cat get some extra sleep before class without lovey-dovey fools realizing feelings so loud?!” Grimm shouted as he got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom “Geez, not even one day of peace in this damn dorm.” he grumbled under his breath before slamming the door shut.

And with that, the two of you burst into a fit of laughter enjoying one another warmth under the covers for a little while longer before getting ready for school yourselves.

“Hey isn't your dorm going to go into a panic looking for you this morning?” You asked Malleus from the bathroom as you got dressed.

He responded with a chuckle “Worry not, Lillia came to find me earlier this morning. The only one I would worry about is Sebek.” he spoke with a smirk on his face.

Back in Diasomnia

“WAKA SAMAAAAAAAA HAS ANYONE SEEN WAKA SAMA,” a certain green hair crocodile was currently screaming his head off as if someone had died.

The usually sleepy silver-haired boy crossed his arms and shook his head at the sight, “It’s going to be a long morning.”

All the while the pink-haired vice house warden was laughing his head off at the sight of the chaos occurring.

Once they walk in the room to see your half-naked form, they're going to immediately look away and shut the door without a word. Once they're outside, then they're going to apologize and would proceed to scold you for a looooong time for not locking the door shut.

He's just really worried for you. What if someone ill-intentioned had come instead and tried to peep on you? The thought distresses him so. Thus, he's not going to leave your doorstep until you're either finished changing or until you've locked the door yourself.

(For Sebek, he'd do all of this but would definitely be much louder about it)

Freezes up

Malleus, Azul, Ruggie, Rook

Honestly, they'd be frozen when they see you, I think from both an 'oh crap, I walked in on them and they're nearly naked! 😰' feeling and an 'oh...they're nearly naked 😳' feeling.

Either way, they'd just be staring in awe from both the shock and view of your body. They want to apologize this instant, but they're currently at a loss for words. They want to turn and leave like they know they should, but their body just won't budge. Look, they're not intentionally trying to be a pervert but MY GOSH the gorgeous sight of you just has them completely mesmerized.

It's only until you turn to them and speak up do they finally snap out of it and apologize for the intrusion and leave, the blush and shame clear on their face. (Yet, the thought of you would never leave them for the rest of the day or few 🫣)

Freaks out

Idia, Deuce, Epel, Kalim, Neige

The moment they see your half-exposed body they would instantly go red and run out of the room yelling, "I'M SORRY!!!!", so freaked out that they even forgot to close the door behind them. (Neige probably wouldn't forget, though)

They truly did feel bad about it because even though they saw your body for barely a second, that image of you was now stuck in their minds. The more they thought of your body, the more they would freak out and feel ashamed of themselves.

I think it'd take a while for them to have the guts to approach you without thinking of that moment again. They'd apologize numerous times if they ever did recall it.

Is nonchalant about it

Ace, Leona, Floyd, Che'nya, Lilia, Cater, Trey

I think they'd all of these guys would be calm about it but in different ways.

I feel like Ace, Leona, Floyd, and Chenya wouldn't even really apologize but would be like, "Nice bod, you should really lock the door next time tho" LOL

Despite this attitude, I think they'd be decent enough to lock the door for you on their way out. He wouldn't want anyone else seeing the lovely sight that only he should see, hehe 😏🤭

And as for Lilia, Trey, and Cater, they would apologize, "Ah..! My bad, y/n", and probably lightly scold you as well.

VIL SCHOENHEIT, LEONA KINGSCHOLAR AND MALLEUS DRACONIA WITH READER, WHO IS ALWAYS IGNORED BY THEIR FATHER...

(...Who happens to be the headmaster himself.)

Bonus points: reader studies in the Diasomnia.

Malleus Draconia. 💚

— When he heard for the first time that the new student of the Diasomnia, is the children of the Dire Crowley, he had a very low expectations, to be honest. Not like he hated on you beforehand or something, more like he was too aware of headmaster's character...

— So, he was pleasantly surprised to see that you are completely the opposite of your father. Responsible, hardworking—if not for you being a crow yourself, and having the same surname, he would never guess that you were raised by this man;

— However... It was clear as day that the reason why you had nothing common with him, was because he hardly payed attention to you. You tried so hard by studying diligently and achieving the first places in different school contests, and yet... He didn't really care?

— Malleus had never met his father, but Lilia made sure he would never feel neglected in the way you were. And the mistreatment towards you hurt him even more, than it hurt you.

”Shit,” you groaned, baring your teeth in unhidden displeasure. ”Headmaster will not approve seeing that that these students broke the window.”

Malleus gazed at you curiously—both of you were sitting on the roof, talking about everything and nothing—and the question left his lips by itself.

”We are all alone. Why are you still calling him a headmaster?”

As you brought knees to your chest, resting your chin on them, you shrugged. With voice impassive and eyed cold, you explained:

”I don't have a particular way to call him. He is either headmaster or Crowley. So...”

Malleus's heart squeezed instantly of the thought of that.

It sounded so unbelievable.

He grew up witnessing how gentle Lilia was to Silver, and how the latter called him a father. Their bond, a sincere and tight one, was always an example for Malleus of how families should like. And here you were, ignored by a man, who was the reason you were in this world. How unfair.

”Y/n?”

Malleus thought, if you asked him to fulfill your wish—to make your father love you—he would. Without a doubt.

”Yes?”

But for some reasons, you never do.

”I hope, you understand, a precious raven of mine, that Diasomnia is your family, too.”

So, he can only offer you an alternative. An alternative, where you need to accept that despite not having your father's love, you had all of them—him, Lilia, Silver and Sebek.

”...Thank you for that. I... I try to keep that in mind.”

Yet, you still need some time to comprehend that.

He could wait. They all will.

Vil Schoenheit. 💜

— He was naturally suspicious of you. It is not a secret that Vil hates privileged kids—such as Leona, for example—and for him, it was logical that you were the one, too;

— However, he started to doubt about that after observing you more closely;

— You never skipped lectures, always did your homework and participated actively in the classes. And not only that! Your achievements weren't passing through him—he was quite aware of all your wins in competitions, and a good reputation;

— So, to the moment, when you came to ask for his help for your talent show, Vil already admitted to himself, that despite having a privilege, you were a high achiever, who knew how to work. But, oh, little did he knew, that you were an opposite to the privileged person...

“Y/n-san,” Vil frowned deliberately, glaring at you with a genuine concern in his eyes, ”I think, you should take a little rest. Please.”

With your shoulders shaking, hands being red, and legs hardly keeping you up, you looked awful.

Vil knew how exhaustion looked—he wore it on himself all the time, after all—and he could say for sure, you were too close to the meltdown. If not to the overbolt...

”I can't. I should try harder,” you murmured, voice raspy. ”Only this way I can...”

The desperation in your eyes were so familiar that Vil almost flinched from it. Carefully, afraid of doing the wrong choice, he put hands on your shoulders, squeezing them softly.

”Y/n-san, you are one of the best students of our school. Even more, you are standing on the same place in the world, along with Leona and Malleus,” he reminded, lips slightly brushing your hair as he spoke. ”What else are you trying to achieve?”

”His attention, of course!" A sob that escaped your lips were too gut-wrenching to hear. ”What else I can need, if not a father?”

Vil didn't even try to conceal his own genuine sadness as he heard you saying that. Almost instinctively, he hugged you tightly, allowing to hide in the crook of his neck.

It was the moment, when he regretted that his assumptions about you being spoiled, were wrong. It would be much healthier for you, if he was right.

”Oh, darling,” he whispered gently. ”Cry all you like. You are allowed to.”

And so, you did.

When on the next morning you pretended that nothing happened, Vil wasn't mad at you for that. If anything, he was merely happy that he was able to help you for a while.

...If only you understood how worthy you are.

Leona Kingscholar. 💛

— The unbothered king had only two complaints to you, and both of them sounded ridiculous. Because, he was unhappy with you being a part of Diasomnia, and he couldn't settle with a fact that you were a crow. The end of the story;

— Leona truly couldn't care less about you or your father. What he cared was the fact that you were a powerful rival in the Spelldrive Tournament, and he was slightly bitter to losing both to you and your housewarden;

— Overall, he respected you. And that was why when you offered him to play chess together, he didn't say no. Since that, you became close, always playing together, in the same time and place;

— As Leona became closer to you, he obviously realised that your family relationships were fucked up—takes one neglected kid to recognise the other—but, decided not to pry out. If you want to talk about it, you will. Otherwise, he will not do anything.

”Huh?”

Leona blinked, not caring to mask his astonishment as he saw you sitting in the botanical garden, with chess board being set up, ready for another game.

”Hi, Leona,” you raised your head at him slowly. ”You are late.”

He weren't late, he just didn't know that you will be here.

The school was on the winder holidays, and the prevailing amount of students already left to their houses. As far as Leona had heard, the headmaster was the first one to leave, since he had a special vacation somewhere in the Shifts. Of course, Leona expected you to go there with him.

”...What are you doing here?” He asked bluntly. ”Shouldn't be you on holidays, or something?”

”My house is too empty,” you shrug, the slight frown indicating your irritation by this question. ”I decided, it would be better to stay.”

”...And the vacation?”

”Oh, Crowley never takes me with himself,” you huffed easily.

Leona had no idea that your relationship was that bad. Even Falena always invited him everywhere, just in case if Leona suddenly decides to agree.

”Well?” You rushed him. ”Are you going to play with me?”

There was nothing Leona could say to console you, words never being his strongest quality. But as he slowly made his way to the armchair, he couldn't help but being hit by the wave of the sheer madness towards your father.

How could anyone neglect such an ambitious and perfect kid as you?

”If I win, you are celebrating New Year with me,” Leona finally spoke up, moving the white piece of chess.

Well, it didn't matter. Not like Dire Crowley deserved you anyway.

”And if I do?”

”Then, I am celebrating New Year with you.”

You smiled at him, before concentrating on the game

”How cruel. I am in.”

He couldn't help but feel proud that the smile on your face was his doing.

Perhaps, you had not the best father, but... At least, Leona will make sure, that you will have a perfect holidays for once.

And that was fine, too.

Yeah, he’s pretty confused when you came up to him in the greenhouse one day

You knelt down to his face

He knew you were there and he half hoped you’d go away if he’d ignore you and half hoped you stayed

You did stay!….and poke his cheek multiple times before he cracked an eye open at you.

“What the hell is your problem herbivore?”

“For you.”

You shove a flower in his face and try run off when he sits up faster and grab your wrist

‘I’m gonna die today, goodbye Grim, goodbye Ace, Deuce…’ You think when you fall back and close your eyes shut, waiting for the time you’ll hit the floor

You fall back into the arm of the SavanaClaw housewarden and when you open one of your eyes, you’re greeted with his face close up

“I wasn’t finished talking.”

“U-uh! My bad! I just—“ You groaned. “I thought this flower reminded me of you.”

“…These are vegetables.”

“Idiot, it’s a herb.”

“Same shit.”

“Coriander, tarragon, and this isn’t even an herb, hydrangeas!”

Leona looked at the three flowers in his hand

“Why they remind you of me?”

Your face brightens yet again, whoops, you forgot about that, well not like you have anything to lose right…?

“Coriander for your hidden worth, tarragon because you make me interested, and hydrangeas because…I’m happy you understand me when everyone can’t.”

“…Really…?” He smirked at you, you have so many urges to kiss and slap him at the same time but you can’t deny the fear of just him ignoring you afterwards

“Just…say you don’t feel the same and move on. I don’t need to be lead on b—“

He kisses your hand that he had held onto

“Don’t assume I don’t feel the same.”

“You do?!”

Leona rolls his eyes and wraps his arm on your waist, pulling you close

“Shut up. Lemme sleep now.” And he knocks out, trapping you with a sleeping lion

You take a minute to appreciate his sleeping face and smile. When he wakes up, you’re sure to ask him out officially!

Rolling yourself on your other side, now you have a dilemma. With the sleeping lion trapping you with his arm…

How are you gonna get out and go to class???!

The queen of the Magicam app and your heart is always surrounded by people…

And if he isn’t, then Rook is there…

You were so close to pulling your own hair out whenever someone came up to Vil. You knew he was a housewarden, yes, but you needed just one moment alone!

Sighing out in defeat when yet another student came up, you just gave Rook the flowers and told him to give it to Vil later before going back to Ramshackle and complaining in your couch.

You’re grateful that Grim gave you the space you needed and went off to bother your two dorky friends

The rain pelted your window as you furiously screamed inside the cushions

A knock comes at your door, but you’re too frustrated to go open it

“Come in!”

“So, instead of just simply asking me to be alone with you, you asked Rook to give these to me?”

You quickly pounce up and see Vil staring at you down on the couch, his umbrella by his side, was he always that quick?!

He sits down besides you holding the bouquet, Vil looks completely elegant as usual but…the undersides of his shoes. They’re muddy and they have drops of mud on the upper side…He ran?

“An aloe piece, Calla lilies, and forget me nots…Your flower language is lovely. Though, I hope the aloe is affection and not grief…”

“It is…”

He held your hands with his own, you can tell your cheeks are definitely pink

“Affection, beauty, and to not forget. Do you think I really would swoop that low to forget you?”

Well yes, but right now? Oh sevens no.

“I-Well, do you feel…the s-same?”

You asked with curiosity and hesitation

“You’re very foolish of you think I ran in my heels here to just reject you.”

A smile graces his face and you happily hug him

A slight blush adorned your cheeks anytime Silver came by

He was just so pretty in your eyes!! How can one being be so…so…

You knew if he was busy guarding Malleus, he wouldn’t be able to spend time with you

If he wasn’t, he was sleeping and completely unable to talk

Knowing him better than yourself, you knew exactly what time to give the flowers to him!!!

That is until he ended up getting more shifts as a result of Sebek getting ill (you don’t blame him, you gave a little card along with Jack earlier)

Hole in your plan…

Fortunately! You got free lunch from someone who wasn’t hungry and went to his station

Not too many people and either way, Malleus just knew by the glint you saw in his eyes. Tsuntaro really was your wingman…

“Silver!” You ran up to where he was sitting and he stood up fast

“Hey, I didn’t know you were here.” He told you with slightly startled eyes

“Sit back down! I got both of us some food and…a surprise for you. You’re on break right?”

When he sits back down by your side, he nods.

You two eat the food before you wrap the plates up in their bag again

Silver, feeling sleepy, dropped his head on your shoulder

“Ah! Wait hang on, before y-you sleep…” You grab the hidden flowers from underneath a cloth and give it to him

His sleepy eyes widen, a pink bloomed on his cheeks

“For…me?”

“For you!” You blushed too, not knowing if he knew or reciprocated your feelings

“…White clovers, Gardenias, and white hyacinths…”

Mainly whites since you thought they matched Silver’s pretty white hair—Ack! Caught lacking again in front of the knight himself!

“Y-yeah! Picked them out myself! Thought they matched your appearance and how…how I think about you! Clovers because I think of you, gardenias cause you’re lovely, and hyacinths for prayers for someone or because you’re so lovely yet again!” You smile at the end, shyly looking away as his pupils dilate and his face becomes shocked

He blinks and smiles softly, taking one of the clovers and putting one behind your ear

“I think of you too.”

You’re so happy, you tackled him to the ground and almost crushed the flowers

Sebek Zigvolt

Bro would eat flowers if Malleus asked him too

Sebek is a sweetie, not everyone sees past the rough and loud exterior that he has but when you did, you fell straight down for him.

Well maybe not straight down, more like…someone entering shallow water for the first time. Carefully stepping in and then getting excited and diving all in.

You saw how Sebek refused gifts from his friends. How he was…quite determined to give the gifts back

Got pretty annoyed at the sharp toothed man for that…

Despite your sweaty palms, you decided to force a gift no matter what!

So, you decided to ask Malleus and Lilia if they could let Sebek have a single day off, you would do anything

They just laughed and said you didn’t need to

So, Sir Zigvolt got a day off! (He wasn’t happy at first but then you asked him “if he could be your knight for the day”, and with a scowling blushing face, he nodded)

“Hmph! If a lowly human like you needs my help, then fine! Only because Master Malleus Sama is not in need of me!”

“Why hello again, what were you even doing taking so long?” He raised an eyebrow at you in suspicion

“W-well, I was trying to find something for you and I ended up picking these out for you!”

You held out a small bouquet of flowers. Dill, gladioluses, and Heliotropes.

“If you’re going to ask, yes. I know dill is also a herb.”

His eyes focused on the bouquet and then you in shock before his cheeks burned a red deeper than yours

“…You…powerful against evil, victory, devotion…Specifically picked out for…me?”

Dear sevens, as if he didn’t deserve it

“Yes! Do you…like them?”

“Do I have permission to touch you?”

That certainly startled you, but you nodded

He hugged you tight

“I…ahem…I guess I have feelings for you…human. May I take you out on a proper date next time?” He said in a soft and slightly hesitant voice

Nodding in happiness, you wrap your arms around him, hugging just as tight

Lilia tenderly caressed the flowers, tears welled in his eyes, tracing silent paths down his cheeks. He knew his time with you was limited, that you would always go back to your world and never return. He knew that nothing would last forever, but he just hoped he could have spent a little more time without you.

"How foolish am I...," he murmured softly, his voice tinged with sorrow. "To dare to hope for a different ending. One without goodbyes."

Amidst the flickering candlelight, he found himself enveloped in memories of your presence. "The world feels so much dimmer without you," he confessed, his words laden with longing and regret.

Jamil wanted to throw out the flowers but he couldn't bear parting with the last thing you left behind for him

he ends up turning them into pressed flowers, making a tiny pendant with them so he can keep you close always

Jamil, like he's done most of his life, decides to bottle up his feelings and go about his day as usual

but everyone in scarabia can tell he's snappier and a lot more tense than usual

even kalim, who's been trying his best not to upset or trouble jamil

on late nights, when he's all alone with his thoughts, he pulls up your old voice recordings, unable to fight the urge to hear your voice

he replays them tirelessly until every sentence is etched into his memory

the comfort they once provided now only serves to amplify his frustration, a mere reminder of your absence

he had resigned himself to a life in the shadows, but then you came into his life and for the first time in forever he let himself hope for a brighter future but now...

he wants to be mad at you for giving him this false hope, but he can't even stand the thought of being mad at you, he's just mad that he let himself hope again

still, he doesn't regret a single second he spent with you

The sound of your voice from the recording dwindled into the hushed night, and with it, the floodgates of his emotions burst open, and he collapsed onto the floor, tears streaming down his face.

"It's not enough," he whispered between sobs, clutching the device tightly in his trembling hands. "Just hearing your voice... it's not enough."

He yearned to see your smile, to feel your warmth beside him once again. "You gave me so much hope," he choked out, his voice breaking with emotion. "That maybe, just maybe, we could have been happy."

Jade keeps the bouquet of flowers you gave him, propagating them so they'll always thrive by his side, making sure to care for them so he'll always have the last gift you give him

each time he tends to them, he talks to them as if they're you, telling them about his day, what shenanigans floyd has gotten into, how well his mushrooms have been growing...

he never leaves without wishing for your happiness, because that thought eases the ache in his heart slightly

on the outside, he acts unaffected and you really wouldn't be able to tell he's upset at all

but floyd and azul can tell, it's clear as day to them just how devastated he is

azul lets him have more free time, cutting his shifts shorter so he can go on hikes or take care of his terrariums, any activities to cheer him up

but even those activities fail to lighten his mood, because he's constantly reminded of his memories with you

him taking care of your wound after you'd tripped and injured your knee, you excited to show him the new mushroom dish you've been working on, the subtle stares and smiles the two of you exchanged at school...

there are traces of you littering every corner of his heart...

As Jade passed by a familiar hiking spot, the very place where countless moments were shared between the two of you, bittersweet memories flooded his mind. He sank to his knees, tears streaming down his cheeks as he struggled to catch his breath.

How was it possible that you were only in his life for a short period, yet your absence felt unbearable? How had you managed to leave such a profound impact on him, with every little thing now serving as a painful reminder of your absence?

"I just... wish to see you again..." he whispered to the empty trail, his voice choked with sorrow. "What can I do... to make this feeling go away?"

"Lady Vanrouge! When you told me you planned to visit, this wasn't what I had in mind!" Sebek hissed, staring at you through the gate's frame. He responded to your SMS asking him to meet you at the school gates as soon as possible. Despite the fact that it was two in the morning, he ran to your position right away. How he arrived in under 10 minutes is remarkable.

"I did say it was a last-minute decision." Shaking your head, you pulled the hood to your robe up and slipped on a pair of leather gloves. Indeed, you did send Sebek a letter to inform him of your plans beforehand. Leaving out the fact that you planned to sneak in like some petty thief.

"Now hold this gate steady for me, ok?"

Sebek's eyes practically sprang out of his head when you started climbing the tall gate. He yelled at you to be careful as he grasped the gate with both hands, firmly grasping the metal bars. You easily climbed to the top and laughed as you tossed yourself to the opposite side. Shrieking, Sebek ran to catch you, nearly toppling over from the force.

"Nice catch, my boy!" You grinned, patting his shoulder and setting yourself down. Sebek heaved, kneeling over and pressing a palm over his chest to calm his racing heart from the stunt you just pulled.

"You-Lady Vanrouge-!" Sebek started. "You're a mage! Why would you do that!"

"Teleporting or flying would definitely be easier…but that's boring~" You drawled, a cheeky grin on your face.

"Now, which way is that mirror again? It's been ages since I last set foot on this campus-literally!"

You linked both your arms together and began to pull the boy towards the academy, ignoring any and all of his complaints.

"I really think we shouldn't be doing this." Sebek muttered, begrudgingly pushing the doors to the mirror chamber open. You both slid inside, the door behind you closing with a snap.

It was already late at night, and the moon shone through the windows, its light reflecting off the mirrors. You took a step closer to Diasomnia's portal, tracing the engravings on its frame.

Had they changed parts of it? You noticed certain details that were not previously present.

"Well, too late to back off now. You're making me start to think you don't actually want me here." You pouted, shifting your gaze to Sebek's rigid body beside the doorway. He jumped and dashed over, his cheeks flushed pink.

"Of course I do, Lady Vanrouge! Your presence is always appreciated! I only wish you had chosen safer means to visit!" He yelled, his booming voice practically rattling the walls. Chuckling, you ran your fingers through his hair before patting his head.

"I jest. Now, let's not keep them waiting. Shall we?" You clasped Sebek's hand with your own and stepped into the mirror.

A blur of colours hit you for a moment before you found yourself whisked away to the dark brooding castle Diasomnia calls a dorm. Standing atop the cobblestone steps, you took a deep breath. The air was thick with smothering moisture, like a fog.

The dim light of a window in the distance drew your attention. Among the many windows in the castle, it was the only chamber that was lit up.

"O-Oh? Is someone still up at this late hour?" You wondered, still light-headed from the teleportation. Sebek placed a hand on your back to stabilise your wobbly form. "Ah yes. That's probably Master Lillia, he tends to hold gaming sessions at this hour."

"Is that so?" You huffed, brows furrowing as you glared at the window. "...That damn bat."

Of course, this wasn't news to you. Silver frequently wrote to you about his father's long gaming sessions, which sometimes lasted days or even weeks. Just as you were about to march up to the castle, an arm wrapped around your chest, pulling you back.

"No need to look so mad, dear." A deep voice lulled.

Behind you two, Lillia appeared with an impish smile on his face. Sebek flinched before greeting Lilia vigorously while maintaining a stiff posture of attention.

"Good evening, Sebek! Would you go and get Silver and Malleus for me? This is going to be a lovely reunion." Lillia spoke, crossing his arms over his chest. He was perched upon a nearby tree, hanging off one of the branches.

"Yes Sir!" With that, Sebek was off, dashing towards the castle.

With a frown etched onto your face, you turned your gaze back to the fae who was still upside down. Lillia hummed, leaning forward to press his lips against yours. "Hello there, beastie."

"Still pulling the same old trick, I see." You grumbled, grabbing his arm to pull him down. Lillia smushed his cheek against your shoulder, peering up at you through his lashes.

"It's a classic of mine, isn't it?"

Why hate me

You, a young fae has been promised to marry malleus since a young age. But how is everything going to work out between the two of you if he hates you? And what if he says something that would completely ruin the last bit of hope you have for him.

You sat quietly by the window as you took a sip of your tea. Humming a small tune that your caretaker used to hum to you. As you sat by the window, you could feel your heart ache at the thought of your fiance.

Malleus draconia

The two of you have been promised to marry each other since you were young. You always loved malleus ever since you were a little girl.

But malleus on the other hand didn't like you very much. You never knew why he didn't like you. You never did anything bad to him or anything so you were always confused as to why he hated you.

But even if he didn't like you, that definitely didn't stop you from being nice to him. You would always ask him to come play with you or take a stroll around the palace garden but he would always decline.

But that didn't stop little old you. You made a promise to yourself to make malleus like you, even if it wasn't romantically you still wouldn't care as long as he feels comfortable around you.

But as you both grew older, the more you started to believe that he might never like you. He would grow annoyed with you when you would check up on him or try to convince him to go walk in the palace garden with you.

He would ignore your every attempt to make him like you.

And the thing he hated the most was when you first visited NRC.

You decided to pay a visit to NRC and to see how malleus was doing, but the moment you step foot in diasomnia malleus was quick to escort you out the dorm.

Of course you felt sad but you didn’t want to make him hate you even more so you decided to respect his wish.

Your thoughts were interrupted by a sudden knock at the door.

“Come in”

You put your tea cup down and turn to see no other than lilia.

“Good evening lilia”

“Good evening y/n”

“What brings you here?” You ask as you motion him to sit down across from you.

“Well I haven’t seen my daughter in law in a while, so I just wanted to stop by and see how you are doing”

You smiled and poured him a cup of tea.

“Well I have been doing great general lilia” you tease as he just laughs.

“Well that great lady y/n”

“Oh? So we are getting formal now general lilia?”

“Well we most definitely are lady y/n”

You both were quiet for a moment before bursting into a fit of laughter.

“Ah, I haven't laughed like that in ages!”

“Well I’m glad you had your fun” he said as he took a sip of his tea.

“So how is everything going in NRC? How silver?”

“Everything is going great! Ah and silver, my sweet boy is doing great!”

“That great!…and um… how mal doing?”

“Malleus is doing just fine. Actually, he been pretty happy the past few weeks”

“Is that so?”

“Mhm. I think it has to do with that new student”

“New student?” You put your cup down and paid your full attention to him.

“Ah I forgot to mention, you know that a few weeks ago we had orientation, right?”

“Mhm”

“Well during that, the mirror summoned something- someone”

“And she isn’t from twisted wonderland”

“Oh? She is not from this world?” You say in shock.

“Nope”

“So how is she? Is she alright?” Even though you didn’t know the girl, you still felt sorry for her since she most likely found everything strange.

“Ah you and your sweet heart! But she fine, crowley is doing his best to get her back to her original world…well that what I heard”

“Mm”

“Ah! But she's been hanging out with malleus for the past few weeks! And she made a few new friends during those weeks including malleus!”

“Well that good to hear”

“Say y/n, why don’t you ever visit NRC? Silver been asking about you including sebek”

“Really?”

“Mhm”

You stay silent for a moment. You never told him about the incident with you and malleus when you first visited diasomnia.

“Well, I would like to but…you know how I’m busy all the time lilia”

“Well you don’t have to worry about that!”

“What do you mean?” You asked curiously

“Because I cleared up your schedule!”

“Eh?”

You looked at him dumbfounded, not knowing what to say.

“Yep, everyone in diasomnia is already informed about your arrival, so it would be a shame if you don’t come”

“E-everyone?”

“Mhm!”

Your heart dropped knowing malleus would most likely be angry.

“Well let’s get going now!”

“W-wait lilia!”

“No waits!”

At night raven college

“Ahh did you guys hear! The great lady y/n will be visiting today!”

“Ehh?! Really!?”

“I heard she's gonna stay here for the week!”

“We need to make sure we meet lady y/n expectations!”

If no one knew that you were coming to visit NRC, well they definitely know now by how the rumors are spreading around everywhere.

“Ahh did you hear that silver! The great lady y/n will be visiting today!”

“Yes yes I heard sebek”

By now, everyone knows that you were visiting and everyone was really excited, even people that weren’t from diasomnia.

And of course, since everyone on campus is talking about your arrival, it certainly reached the ears of a certain someone.

“She visiting…”

“Who? Oh wait, are you talking about the lady y/n? I don’t really know anything about her but from what everyone is saying she seems sweet and very popular”

He just scoffed

“Come on, she might be here by now”

“Wait, we're going to meet her?!”

Ignoring her question, malleus just pulls her towards diasomnia direction.

Stepping foot into diasomnia, you felt a wave of anxiety starting to creep up as your eyes looked everywhere for a certain dragon.

“You seem nervous”

“Me? Hah that funny”

“Are you-“

But before he could continue, the doors flew open and you started preparing yourself for what to come.

“Y/n!” You quickly turn around to see silver and sebek. You felt a wave of relief go through you and you offered them a small smile.

“Ah if it isn’t silver and sebek! It’s great to see the two of you”

“It’s great to see you again!”

“Why haven’t you come visit us sooner?”

“Ah well I have been busy with some stuff back at the castle”

“Oh”

“Well it’s good to see that you took a break!”

“Yeah…it is”

Before the two could talk any further, the door was slammed open and you turn to see malleus and a girl at the door.

“Malleus..”

“Y/n…what is she doing here?”

“She came to visit us of course! C’mon be more happy about seeing your fiancée malleus!” You saw him stiffen up and you lowered your head down so as to not make any eye contact with him.

“Oh fiancée? Malleus, you never told me that!”

You look up to see a girl standing next to him.

That must be the new student

As she looked your way you gave her a small smile and quietly chuckled when she turned red and looked away.

“Yes..um well if you excuse me I have to go do something”

“Dinner will be ready in a few hours!” Lilia tells him as malleus walks away.

You felt like breaking down right then and there. You just wanted to know why malleus hates you so much.

“Boys go help her unpack”

“Oh no! It’s fine-“

“Don’t worry, lady y/n! I’ll help you!”

“That sweet of you sebek, really but I’ll-“

“We don’t mind y/n, plus I would love if we can catch up with each other while we help you unpack”

“Mhm!”

You looked at them for a second before nodding your head.

“That would be great”

They smile and lift up your bags as they escorted you to your room.

“Akane, you should come help me prepare dinner!”

“D-dinner?” You three quickly turn around to akane as the poor girl didn’t know what to do.

“Wait father! After we’re done helping lady y/n unpack we can help you!”

“Y-yeah! Or maybe one of our chefs will!”

“You should take a break Lilia!”

“Oh but I’m not tired-“

“It’s okay we got it from here sir lilia!” You three sighed in relief when one of the chefs came running in.

“Oh well thank you!”

“So how are things with malleus?"

You froze when Silver asked you that. You didn't know how to answer without revealing too much of what's going on between you and malleus.

"Things are great.."

"Mm"

"Where do you want me to put this lady y/n!"

"You can put it down there, thank you sebek"

"Are you sure everything is good between you two?"

"Mhm" He decided not to say anything else after that, but you knew that he didn't completely believe it.

"Well thank you two for helping me unpack, I really appreciate it"

"It's no problem!"

"dinner would be serve in a few, let's go"

You three then made your way out the room and downstairs. You were a little nervous to see malleus but you calmed yourself the moment you noticed that you were getting closer to the dining area.

"Oh you three made it just on time! Come! Dinner is ready” you stared in awe as you saw all the amazing and wonderful food that was on the table. Especially when you saw your favorite.

“Where malleus?” Akane asks, you looked around and you saw that he was nowhere in sight.

“Oh I don’t know. Y/n dear”

You stiffen as you heard Lilia call for you.

“Yes?”

“Could you go get malleus? Tell him that dinner is ready” Anxiety and nausea is all you could feel. You slowly nodded your head before getting up and excusing yourself out.

As you walked down the hallway of diasomnia, you could feel your heart beat out of your chest.

You were extremely nervous.

The closer you got to malleus room, the more you could feel your heart almost bursting out.

Finally making it to his room. You softly knocked on the door.

“What are you doing here” he asks sternly.

“Lilia asked me to come get you-“

“No”

“Huh?” His hold on you tightened as you looked at him with wide eyes.

“Why. Are. You. Here”

“I-I..” but as you expected, no words came out of your mouth.

You were beyond scared and you didn’t know what to do to not make him more mad than he already is.

“ I came to visit. Lilia made me come here”

“Are you here to kill us?! Huh?!”

You looked at him confused as he just went off on you.

“W-what? Mal what do you-“

“You know exactly what I mean! And don’t call me mal”

“I- I’m sorry but I don’t know what you are talking about!”

“Stop lying! I saw it! I saw it that day!”

“What? What did you see?!” At this point you were confused. You didn’t know what he was talking about and why he was acting like this.

“Your gonna kill me aren’t you? That why you are acting all nice and sweet. You want me dead don’t you! You are going to do the same thing your parents did to mine huh?!”

You just stared at him. You couldn’t believe what he was saying. You didn’t even know what he was saying!

“Malleus! Please just stop!”

“No! I won’t let you hurt me or anyone!”

“Malleus-“

“You should’ve died in that fire along with your parents”

Your heart stopped when those words left his lips. You stared at him in disbelief and hurt as tears started to flow down your face.

He just looks at you with hatred. Not regretting the words that just have left his mouth.

You two just looked at each other before you finally looked away.

“Alright. I’ll just leave”

Was the last thing you said before walking out the room.

That was the last time malleus and anyone else saw you.

You never came back to NRC, you never made it back to briar valley, you never made it back to the castle.

And when he gave the bat milk directly from the jug, it sounds like the bat basically took a bath in it... Something similar happening to Silver. Ugh I love this family, they are so chaotic it's hilarious. How Silver and Sebek know more about the technicalities it's actually amusing, esspecially Silver, who grew up with Lilia's parenting skills... I like to assume MC had no clue this took place, and came in blind to his antics once they decided to have a child of their own...

MC- Lilia.

Lilia- oh isn't our darling baby the cutest?!

MC- Lilia, you cannot spoon-feed her real food yet. W...where did you get that food?

Lilia- I made it while you were bathing!

Lilia- I will go get the milk~ No need to glare at me as such. You know, raising children shouldn't be so black and white! Sometimes you need to improvise~

MC- ...Uh huh... anyways. I'm going to get changed to go out to the store and grab a few things. Can you handle her?

Lilia- Of course I can! Your questions wound me~ Do not worry your little head. I am well versed in how to raise a human child!

-moments later-

MC- Alright. Why is my baby cover head to toe in milk.

Lilia- Isn't she just the cutest sight to see? I handed her the mug and she practically poured it all over herself! What a silly little girl.

MC- ...Where's her diaper?

Lilia- Ah! The paper towel seems to have dissolved with the amount of milk soiling it... A shame. I was proud of how well It turned out.

MC, sighing and shaking their head with a smile and turning to the kitchen table- Can you keep an eye on them while I go to the store?

Silver, nodding- Of course.

MC- How...how did you manage to make it this far?

Silver- ...often times a mystery to me as well, but I am thankful I am still here.

MC, laughing and turning back to Lilia, who is giving the second mug of milk to his daughter- Ah...what charm you have, my lovely husband. I will return soon.

Lilia gives you a kiss and you head off, with a bright smile on your lips. What a silly fae...but you know things will turn out alright.

There was no way I could leave out Sebek from this little series I’ve done in the past couple posts! Just wanted to draw something cute that shows off Sebek’s pure adoration for Malleus, so I came up with this piece. I really enjoy drawing Sebek’s hair and I really like how it turned out here. I was a bit nervous drawing Malleus from the back, but I think it turned out alright in the end.

To explain why Lilia and Silver are sleeping, they wanted to watch Sebek show Malleus his art, but Sebek took so long (due to embarrassment because showing Prince Malleus his piece that can only capture a sliver of his greatness 🙃) that Silver ended up falling asleep. Lilia is just pretending to be asleep because it’s a cute moment with his son lol

Time to switch gears and focus on my twst oc as well as some of my fem twst sketches I’ve had tucked away. I’m also starting Jamil’s piece in my Overblot Inner Child Series, so hopefully that will be ready in the next week or two.

━ malleus draconia ━

being struck by a curse was already frightening enough on its own but knowing that the cure is something deemed as impossible – which is a true love’s kiss – you knew you were doomed for life. from what you knew, the curse given to you was you’d fall into a sleep-like death the moment you reach a certain age in adulthood. ever since then, you had no hope that you’ll ever live past that age.

your beloved remained unaware of this curse, however. it’s not like you didn’t want him to know, it’s just that he never asked, but then again, who would casually ask someone if they have been cursed?

you can imagine the fear and worry showing in his eyes the moment you lost your consciousness. the two knights immediately got to your aid while he rushed to you and assessed your physical being, to see if you were alright. you seem to be asleep and yet your heart was barely beating.

it took a lot to keep his composure, but lilia knew all too well that malleus was close to losing his mind any moment now. the older fae assisted the two knights by carrying you to a bed, to ensure you rest properly before they call for a magic doctor to check on your health.

“i don’t see any health issues… however, there is a trace of a powerful spell in their being similar to that of a curse,” spoke the doctor as they looked up to see the faces of the four diasomnia members. malleus’ eyes widened at the revelation as he replied, “a curse? she never told me she had one…”

the doctor sighed and proceeded to share the diagnosis with them in a sad manner, “her curse seemed to have something similar to death, but seeing as she looks as if she is asleep, we can deduce what she was struck with…”

the doctor did not need to continue talking as he knew that the four immediately knew what the curse was and its cure. lilia thanked the doctor for his help as malleus knelt on the floor right beside your sleeping corpse, holding your hand and sensing how cold it was slowly becoming, and yet your face showed no signs of death.

“such curse has a cure that we deem impossible, malleus…” spoke lilia gently, trying to console the young prince after losing his loved one. malleus tried not to have a breakdown, holding your limping hand tighter as he caressed your cheek, “true love’s kiss… is there really such thing?”

“like i said, an impossible cure…” replied lilia, but he was also determined to know if such thing was true, “…but we can try.”

malleus looked at you for a moment, brushing his thumb over your cheek as silver and sebek watched. a moment passed and he decided to lean close, placing his lips on yours for a bittersweet kiss before pulling away with a sad smile. there was a glint of hope in his eyes, hoping that he was indeed your one true love and that you would wake up, but he also wondered to himself that what if it was not him? what if you did not love him the way he loves you?

all those doubt washed away the moment your eyes fluttered open a bit, and a huge smile was seen on malleus’ face whilst lilia, silver, and sebek let out a sigh of relief. your beloved immediately wrapped his arms around you the moment your eyes were wide open and gazing up at the ceiling, a gasp of surprise left your lips once he hugged you close.

“i’m… alive?” you spoke in a rather surprised tone as you knew you would not survive the curse, and yet here you are in the arms of the man you love the most. malleus placed another kiss on your forehead before giving you a disappointed expression, “why did you not disclose the details of your curse to me? if i had known, i would have done something sooner…” a sigh then escaped his lips, “but… i’m glad you’re awake now.” his embrace tightened as he buried his face into your hair, taking a whiff of your scent to comfort himself as the fear of losing you grew even stronger, “please don’t ever leave me like that.”

━ lilia vanrouge ━

you were done with your lessons for the day and you felt ecstatic to return to your dorm to see your dearly beloved once more. with your books in hand, you walked towards your dormitory’s mirror with a hop on your step, humming a soft tune as you passed by the mirror and walked down the entrance of diasomnia.

upon arrival, you saw malleus and silver on the lounge, drinking what seemed to be black coffee while sebek was by the stairs with a displeased expression, almost as if he was jealous of silver spending some quality time with their master by drinking the same beverage.

you chuckled at sebek’s expression and approached him by the stairs, “you okay?”

sebek huffed in response, “silver is drinking black coffee with the young master! if only i could drink the same beverage, but i cannot stand the taste and prefer it with milk!” you tried not to laugh as you merely smiled, “right, there’s nothing wrong with wanting milk in your coffee, seb.”

you then patted his shoulder and went upstairs, heading to lilia’s room to check if he was there, and indeed he was. you were greeted by a messy sight with some trinkets on the floor and unorganized items on his desk – you knew he had terrible cleaning skills, but you were not expecting this.

and there he was, asleep on his comfy bed as the star that settled atop his bed glowed a little. you sighed and closed the door, approaching your sleeping beloved and taking a seat on the bed, watching his chest rise and fall with every breath as his eyes remained closed, his eyelashes were long and luscious, and his lips were parted.

you caressed his cheek and gently fixed his bangs before placing a soft kiss on his forehead. as you were about to stand up, you felt a hand grasp your own and you turned your head to see your beloved awake with a smile, pulling you down and placing a kiss on your lips.

“looks like i was woken up by true love’s kiss~”

you rolled your eyes at his antics and chuckled before kissing his forehead, “then it looks like i’m your true love, old man.”

━ silver ━

you were exhausted.

your energy was spent after your physical education lessons. you were instructed by coach vargas to run a hundred laps before proceeding with flying lessons, which exhausted the life out of you. with no energy left to spend, you entered the lounge of your dorm and dropped your bag on the floor before plopping yourself onto the couch, not caring about anything else other than sleep.

your eyes went shut as sleep overtook your tired figure. hours have passed, but you had not known how long you were asleep. you were awoken by the feeling of something soft and sweet on your lips, but it unfortunately lasted for a short while, which caused you to flutter your eyes open.

“mm…?”

your eyes fluttered open and the first thing you see is your boyfriend’s slightly surprised expression upon seeing you awake, and that’s when you realised, he kissed you. you smiled groggily at him and ruffled his hair before sitting up, “you woke me up with your true love’s kiss~ hehe...”

silver smiled at your remark and kissed your forehead, “you should rest in your room. i already brought your bag upstairs and fixed the bed for you.”

━ sebek zigvolt ━

sebek had unfortunately fallen ill and had been stubborn the whole time. he refused to take his medicine, saying he did not need it. he refused to rest as he did not want to acknowledge that he had a cold, and went as far as to say that his immune system was not so weak that he’d get sick so easily.

silver sighed at his stubbornness and looked at you for a moment. you gave him a quick glance before approaching sebek and pulling on his arm, “seb, you need to rest.”

“rest? absolutely not, i’m fine! don’t let what the doctor said discourage you! i have no cold,” argued the half-fae as he continued on carrying eight chairs to the mirror chamber all at once. silver opted to help as he carried some chairs too, but sebek insisted he’d do it by himself.

‘how stubborn…’ you thought to yourself as you crossed your arms and waited for him to finish his task. you knew there was no way he would stop now.

once he was done with his task, you dragged him back to the dormitory and made him sit on the couch with a stern expression, “sit.”

“but–!”

“no buts. sit down.” you commanded as you grabbed his medicine, causing him to grumble as he stayed put on the couch, allowing you to nurse him. as you gave him his medicine, he took it without another word before thanking you softly.

after taking his prescribed medication, you sighed and sat down next to him, ruffling his hair with a small smile as you spoke gently this time, “don’t be so stubborn next time… take care of yourself. you’re sick.”

“i can handle a cold…”

“sebek.”

you were always surprised by how much your actions and words affected him. normally, he would never dare to listen and obey a human’s commands, but with you, he does.

“fine… besides, i might be a nuisance to the master if i were to be sick while i stood guard by his side!”

ah, there he is.

you chuckled at his worry over his duties towards malleus. you then smiled and gave him a kiss on his forehead, “here. a true love’s kiss to make you feel better~”

his cheeks immediately went red as he exclaimed, “f/n!!!”

red. all you see is red. his cheeks are red, his ears are red, sevens, even his nose is red at the feeling of your lips pecking his cheek. you didn't think it was even physically possible to be that flushed in the face, but yet here he is doing just that. he stares blankly, unresponsive to anyone and anything as he appears as if a wire had been cut loose from head, malfunctioning like a computer’s blue screen of death. the only difference is that he is a deep shade of scarlet. the spot where you kissed feels like a spark on his skin and he’s simply too frozen to move. please give him a warning of sorts before doing that again. for his own safety. please.

he questions your sanity. bold move of you, prefect. bold move. he's genuinely surprised at your actions, especially when most would avoid being so close to him in that way if it was the last thing they'd do. it's not everyday that you get kissed by a certain prefect. your ability to do whatever your mind had set on causes him to look at you with an expression of both astoundment and amusement. it's refreshing to see someone like you in twisted wonderland, if he were to be honest. aside from that, however, he's completely fine. if you're plan was to fluster the young man, then he wishes you luck for next time.

Will be a bit annoyed (at first)

Leona, Ace, Jack

They'd wanna wake you up, gently nudging you, "oi, my shoulder isn't for you to sleep on", but seeing how fast asleep you were and seeing how adorable your resting face was had them giving in.

I feel like Leona would be inclined to sleep as well, eyelids growing heavy and his head occasionally leaning on yours, but he would try to keep himself awake because he didn't want anyone to disturb you. If anyone walked in making a ruckus, he'd shoot them a glare and quietly tell them to shut up lol.

When you wake up, these dudes would definitely be like, "Finally awake, sleepyhead? Well you owe me one for drooling all over my shoulder". Apologize all you want, the only acceptable payment he'll take is your love and affection, particularly in the form of a kiss, hehe 😘

Wouldn't really know what to do

Idia, Deuce, Epel, Ruggie

They'd probably freeze up when they've realized you've just fallen asleep on their shoulder. Should they wake you up? Should they just let you rest on them? They wouldn't know what to do. While they don't want to disturb you, knowing how tired you must have been, the longer you leaned on them, the more they would observe your lovely, peaceful visage, note the warmth radiating from your body as you were clinging onto their arm, and just wouldn't be able to handle the adoration that they felt for you overwhelm them. They would feel their heart rate go up and feel their cheeks grow hotter as you held them closer in your sleep. He wasn't used to being in close contact with you for such long periods of time after all.

Sleeps along with you

Floyd, Cater, Kalim, Che'nya, Silver

He's going to lean his head on yours and fall asleep too. He doesn't plan on waking you up and would feel too bored just sitting there that he decides he might as well sleep. I think it would become a routine between you both. The moment he feels your head weigh down on his shoulder, he'll stop whatever he was doing and would grin, "I guess it's nap time for me too!!", and then sleep. Let's be real, he probably uses it as an excuse to slack off, yet, at the same time, he truly enjoyed moments like these where he could simply rest and be so close to you.

Before sleeping, I can totally see Cater taking a selfie of you sleeping with him waving a peace sign and captioning it, "Nap time~!"

Is as happy as can be

Rook, Malleus, Lilia, Neige

When he feels the weight of your head resting on his shoulder and sees you asleep, they are over the moon for you. They're just so happy to know that you're this comfortable and relaxed enough around them, that their hearts are all a flutter. He's so tempted to scoop you up in his arms and let you rest there, holding you close to their chest, but seeing how peaceful you already look right now, he chooses to keep still. Though, if you subconsciously nuzzle your face into his shoulder, he's gonna want to kiss you right then and there. You're just. Too. CUTE!!! 😤💘

And if you do end up waking up because of it, he'll apologize but will be thankful deep down because now, he'll take this chance to let you sleep in his arms instead, where he can keep you close, safe and protected in his warm embrace, kissing your forehead as you again fall asleep, "Rest well, my love. I'll be here for you when you wake up"

Will wake you up

Vil, Jamil, Rollo, Sebek

Yes, these guys will wake you up especially if they had things to do, but will do so politely (excluding Sebek, he'll be loud asf) and with good intentions. If you're this tired, then he suggests that you lay down and sleep in your bed. Y'know, so you can be more comfortable, and the last thing he wants is you getting a stiff neck from sleeping on his shoulder.

Yet, if you insist enough that you want to sleep with him near you, then he'll oblige by either letting you lay your head on his lap or by carrying you to your room and sleeping beside you. In the case that he sleeps beside you, when he sees you've finally succumbed to sleep, he'll try to slip out to continue his work. But once your hand instinctively reaches out to grab his sleeve and mutter his name, he stops, and resigns himself to laying beside you again, huffing, "oh boy, what am I gonna do with you..?" , while softly caressing your cheek with his thumb. He tries, but he simply can't resist you.

Won't be bothered at all

Azul, Riddle, Jade, Trey

If it was possible, he would simply continue what he was doing, albeit more subtle and quieter now. You sleeping on their shoulder wasn't bothersome to him. He found it quite endearing actually.

He liked the contact and for you to be vulnerable like this with him, he doesn't want to ruin the moment. You are now under his care. And he'll ensure that no one disturbs you and that you're able to lean on him comfortably. I think he'd feel free to show more affection towards you now that you were asleep. He'd kiss the top of your head, and probably keep his hand on your thigh or on top of yours, gently rubbing circles on your skin as he continues his task. If any strands of hair were covering your face, he'd promptly move it away so that he'd be able to thoroughly admire you, smiling because of how fortunate he feels to be with you.

Silver, Sebek, Malleus and Jack (separately) noticing Mc using them as a shield? Like, in social situations. Not dangerous ones. No, Mc can handle that. If some creepy man is eyeing them? She saddles her way up to their side, putting them in between her and the creep. And if asked about it, she says "You make me feel safe, I'll stop if you don't like it."

Malleus Draconia:

Malleus noticed your tendency right away. He knew he was scary to most, the reason he was so fond of you is because you talked to him despite his towering stature and intense aura. To know that your opinion of him differed so greatly from the public, that you didn’t see him as a figurehead of fear but of safety instead, made his chest feel warm. He’s noticeably pleased by your confession and he almost seemed happy to be a bodyguard of sorts to you, since he was used to Sebek or Silver jumping in on his behalf. He promised to keep an eye out for you when he could.

Jack Howl:

Jack had noticed but never said a word about it, just doing what he felt was right in the moment, especially if someone was being a creep toward you. Acknowledging that you hid behind him and that it made him feel good would mean having to come to terms with his own complicated feelings for you, and he had never really been the ‘feelings’ type of guy. For you to so blatantly confide that you felt safe around him had him fighting for his life and his pride, his tail betraying him almost instantly as he was silently proud that you saw him as a sort of protector.

Sebek Zigvolt:

Sebek is adamant in making it known he is NOT your bodyguard. His attention and effort are for Malleus and Malleus only. He may say that loud and proud but there’s never a moment he’d leave you in an awkward situation unprotected. He would also defend himself by saying that was just his pride of Malleus’ bodyguard not allowing him to leave an innocent person undefended, especially not if you were on friendly terms with said dorm leader. You thank him for his help regardless and feel a wave of fondness wash over you as he puffed his chest out proudly.

Silver never noticed because the second he sensed danger, he was already moving in front of you. It was just so natural for him to slip into ‘protect’ mode that the fact you were behind him just seemed like a normal thing. It’s only when you confess that he makes you feel safe that Silver analyzes all the times you both moved, practically in sync, in response to danger; whether physical in nature or social, it does make his heart flutter to know you feel confident in turning to him to keep you safe.
