Accidental courtship

Penguins have this adorable courtship ritual where the male gives the female a smooth pebble, if the female is impressed by the pebble she accepts the gift and mates with the male

I know that jade, Floyd, and Azul aren't penguins, but i thought it would be so cute if their s/o gave them a pebble and basically proposed but not knowing what it meant.

And for the beast-men (Leona, Jack, Ruggie) i thought it would be cute if there was a special beast-men way of courtship, I couldn't think of anything though, but then i remembered that for a lot of mammals (and animals in general) grooming is a form of bonding, so what if licking was a form of courtship?!?!

Leona: he awoke from his nap when he felt a pair of hands running through his hair, he sniffed the air, realizing it was just his s/o he closed his eyes once again, surrendering to the comforting feeling of your hands, he hated to admit it but he loved when you played with his hair, it was something he looked forward to and expected. what he didn't expect however was the sudden wet feeling that graced his cheek his eyes shot open and his head snapped in your direction

"so soon? at least wait till we graduate"

your so confused, he realizes that you probably dont know what you just did

"for beast-men, your lick was you asking me to marry you you dumb herbivore"

he wont admit it but his heart was pounding in his chest

Jack: he had finished his classes for the day and was walking around the campus grounds, when he spotted you his tail started to wag a bit, he attempted to stop, annoyed that he was giving away how he felt. he walked over to you, he wrapped his arm around your waist pulling you closer to him you smiled up at him, kissing his cheek, he smiled at you and walked with you to the ramshackle dorm, you guys sat in the guest room you had been working on you had been pretty bored all day and wanted to do something to make you laugh, why not lick your boyfriend see what his silly reaction would be, little did you know the implications behind this supposedly innocent action. as soon as your tongue brushed his cheek he was off to sofa and staring at you in shock, he moved so fast that your tongue was still hanging out of you mouth

"i-im not ready"

his voice was shaky and his tail was wagging at a super sonic spread

"i mean you need to meet my parents and my siblings, and i dont have any money, i mean were still in high school, marriage is a very large leap"

you were so fucking confused Marriage? when you asked what he was talking about he looked at you confused

"you licked me... you want to marry me...right?"

you blushed and told him that in your world its just a weird thing to do. he sighed in

"so no marriage then, good, i love you but im not ready for that yet... try again in a few years"

he winked, his tail giving away his feelings

Ruggie: you had gotten some powdered donuts from Sam's store earlier and you were super excited to eat them, you rushed to your dorm hoping to avoid the food thief you called a boyfriend but it was useless, he could probly smell them from 3 miles away, he saw you running smelt the sweet scent of donuts and took off after you, he caught up quickly, snatching the box from you hands

"watcha got here shihihi"

he held the box out of your reach and took a donut out, he quickly shoved it into his mouth as you pouted, you loved him to death but god was he annoying sometimes you noticed how he had gotten some of the powdered sugar on his nose and an idea of revenge sprung into your mind, you grabbed the collar of his shirt and pulled him down to you

"you gonna kiss me~" he teased you, he wrapped an arm around you resting a hand on the small of your back while his other held the donut box.

you licked his nose, he tensed up, his eyes widened and he stumbled back almost falling over

"i-i dont- i mean-" he turned around, he grabbed his ears and pressed them down, trying to calm himself down, he had never felt so flustered before, but could you blame him? his s/o just asked for his hand in marriage "i accept but... so soon?"

you looked at him confused, he took a moment, realizing that what is a marriage proposal for beast-men might not be the same for humans, but everyone was aware of the tradition, then it clicked, you weren't from here, you had no idea what you had just done. his blush was still there, and to be honest he was dissipated, he licked you cheek "that is a proposal for marriage" he admits, looking away embarrassed, he shoved the donut box back into your hands and quickly walked away mumbling a quick "i love you" his tail was small, but it was wagging as he zoomed away from you.

Octavinelle (penguin esc courtship)

Floyd: he hated working at the cafe, it was so boring, why would he work when he could be with his little shrimpy? he found you outside of the ramshackle dorm, you were on your hands and knees digging round a pile of rocks

"shrimpy~" he lifted you up and hugged you from behind "what are you doing?"

he asked, examining the rocks you held in your hands, you didn't answer, instead you picked on of the rocks you had and handed it to him, it was smooth, and had a faint blue undertone to it, he squealed and snatched it out of your hand, he wrapped his arms around you, squeezing you till you felt like you were about to burst, he kissed you passionately before skipping off to tell his brother and Azul, you just stood there, confused as to why your boyfriend was so happy about the rock you gave him, i mean sure it was cool but was it that exciting for him? a couple hours later there was a knock on the door to the ramshackle dorm, you opened the door and say Floyd standing there frowning slightly

"do you know what a rock means"

you shook your head and you swear it looked like he was about to cry

"so you weren't asking me to marry you?"

you shook your head again, now understanding why he was so upset, you hugged him and kissed his cheek promising him to marry him one day, as soon as he heard that he was happy again, hugging and squeezing you all night long.

Jade: he was observing the mushroom he was growing, they had a strange mutation that he hadn't seen before and was eager to study, he was writing down the differences and comparing them to known mutations when suddenly you burst into his room clenching something in your hand, he turned to you smiling at you, he closed his mushroom guide and walked over to you, kissing your forehead and ruffling your hair, you hold out your hand and show a small smooth rock to him, he blushed, hugging you tightly

"are you aware of what your asking me?" he asked, his voice shacking lightly as he hugged you tighter, part of him wished you meant what mer-people mean when they give rocks, but he knows you arent used to the tradtions and culture in this world

he pulled away slightly and when he saw your confused face he smiled sadly "in merfolk culture you asked me to marry you" he chuckled as you blushed "i want to be the one to give you the rock dear" he mumbled into your hair he pulled away caressing your face before picking you up and taking you to the couch to cuddle.

Azul: he was in his office doing paper work and for the cafe, he was stressed, his hand was starting to cramp from the amout of writing he had been doing. the door to his office opened and you entered, his eyes lit up as he say you, your presence always made him feel better.

"hello my love"

he smiled at you softly, he open his arms for a hug and you wasted no time crawling into his lap and hugging him tightly, he kissed your shoulder, you reached into your pocket and handed him a pretty rock you had found earlier, his faced flushed with a blush

"m-my love? i- i mean y-yes ill marry you, but at least meat my family first, do you have a venue in mind? a dress? i can help you look- wait your not proposing? oh... you dont know do you"

as disappointed as he was that he wasn't going to marry you he chuckled and laughed

"my beloved your little rock was a proposal of marriage"

he smirked at you, watching as you face as you realized what you had done, he kissed you shoulder and cheek again

"just know love.... i will say yes, i will always say yes to you"

a couple days later when you walk into his office you she the rock you gave him on the shelf behind his desk, it was in a glass container, when you asked Azul all he said was

"its special to me, i wish to keep it forever"

I was thinking about this at work yesterday (don't ask why) so here are my hypotheses

Riddle: One lick max at a time

Trey: Yes. He would think it's weird at first but he would come to accept it pretty quickly

Cater: Only a little bit. To be fair he can't handle any form of affection so this is no different

Ace: He would say no but wouldn't be too mad if I sprang one on him

Deuce: Yes if it makes me happy

Leona: Yes and he would lick me back. Cat behavior

Ruggie: Not a fan of it tbh

Jack: No. Maybe one lick to appease me

Azul: No. It makes him feel silly

Jade: Yes. He finds my desire to lick his face facinating

Floyd: 100% yes. And he'll lick back. He'll get kinda aggressive about it tbh

Kalim: Yes! He thinks its adorable

Jamil: Absolutely not and he is baffled when I ask

Vil: Literally never in a million years

Rook: Absolutely. He enjoys it because he's a little freak

Well, maybe you’ll find out one day.

Lilia Vanrouge serenades you in his club room, serenades alright. Surprise! It’s your favorite songs! He can play a bunch of instruments so request for any songs and instruments and he got you! After Vil’s Broomquet card was released I saw a lot of theories about what happened to his mom since he’s never met her and doesn’t even know her identity. I’ve had this idea for awhile and I haven’t seen this theory yet (apologies if it has been thrown out there and I just didn’t see it). But what if Vil’s donor conceived.

What if Vil’s dad was struggling to find a long term relationship. Someone who can handle being with one of the most famous actors. Someone who wants him for him and not the money. He wants kids and as the years go by he feels like time is slipping away. He see’s his costars kids when they come to visit their parent on set and the joy on his costars faces when they see them. And he wants his kid to come and visit him on set too.

Finally Vil’s dad was done waiting for the right partner to come around and takes matters into his own hands. He contacts a clinic known for its discretion obviously recommended to him by costars who needed some help conceiving. He’s offered a book of women who donated their eggs and he flips through it looking for the right woman to be the “mother” of his child. He chooses one and then is connected to a surrogate who will carry his child for him. The surrogate signs a NDA and he hands over his genetic donation so Vil is 100% his father’s son. A month later he is contacted by the surrogate letting him know that she’s pregnant. Vil’s dad is over the moon his dream is finally coming true. A few months later he’s informed he’s having a boy.

He goes on as if life is normal for the next nine months, giving nothing away as he secretly prepares for his new arrival. The nursery is decked out and outfitted with only the best. Nannies have already been interviewed and hired at the ready for when he inevitably has to return to work. Then he gets the text he’s been waiting for. His surrogate is in labor. Baby Schoenheit is on his way.

Holding a newborn Vil for the first time was better than all the awards he’d won in his career.

The tabloids went crazy when Eric Venue announced Vil’s birth. Rumors flew when no one could dig up any information about Vil’s mom as his dad remains tight lipped about Vil’s conception. A one night stand, secret girlfriend, a costar who recently gave birth, and dying in childbirth. The reality is no one knows who his mother is other than a now redacted donor number.

There was something stuck in your eye so you attempted to keep blinking to get rid of it. Wait- why is Leona blushing?

First ever request let’s do this! I don’t know if this is exactly what you were looking for, but I tried my best! I’m sorry if it was on the shorter side, I was struggling to think on how to draw it out.

You weren’t sure what was causing it, but your eye has been stinging for the past couple of minutes. Was it the dirt, pollen, a fallen eyelash? You didn’t know but you were getting annoyed. Leona was napping next to you while you were reading, well, attempting to read. You rub at your watery eye before blinking rapidly a few times.

You sigh in annoyance, dropping your book into the grass and banging the back of your head against the tree gently a few times. You look down at Leona’s sleeping form, slowly blinking a few times and wiping a tear from your eye before you go back to looking around the garden. Can whatever is making your eye sting knock it off?!

“Your thoughts are so loud they woke me up.” Leona mumbles out, voice laced with sleepiness. You look back at him, blinking slowly a couple of times. Leona’s sleepiness seems to vanish at your action and he sits up slightly, leaning on his arm. His tail flicks and his ear twitches.

“Sorry, didn’t mean to wake you up.” You rub your eyes again. Leona continues to stare, slowly blinking at you a couple of times before turning away to hide his face. You quirk an eyebrow at his weird shyness. “You…alright?” Leona nods.

“Mmhm, just fine herbivore.” Leona continues to look away from you and you watch as his tail flicks back and forth, ears twitching at every move you make. You close your eyes for a moment, letting the water build up and then reopen your eyes and you smile in satisfaction as you feel your eyes no longer sting. You turn back to Leona to see him staring at you. You blink again to return your eyes back to normal and watch as Leona’s pupils dilate just slightly.

You let out a gasp as Leona pulls you into his chest, burying his face into your neck as his arms wrap around you. You lean against his back as he cages you within his hold. You feel him snuggle your neck.

“Uhm…Leona?” He lets out a hum.

“Thinking you can get away with doin’ that without any repercussions tsk.” Leona replies, his hold tightening around you as he tail wraps around you as well.

“Doing what? What did I do?” You were confused, all you did was get something out of your eye and now you are being cuddled like there’s no tomorrow. You don’t mind what’s going on right now, but it does leave you confused.

“Gettin’ away with being affectionate.” You pause, reaching behind you to rub Leona’s ear gently. When were you? Oh well, it doesn’t matter. You’ll take your victories where you can get them, and this was certainly one of them.

Dorm Leaders with an s/o who has never received a valentines gift

Wondernote: Later on I will put character borders, but I need to churn out this so they are not available yet, but they will be up soon! also yes, this is slightly self indulgent, since I have never been given a valentine gift in a romantic way, or even friendly way lol- also dearest apologies for making this four days late. Prepping for college and adhd kept me distracted.

Riddle Rosehearts

- Riddle would honestly be familiar with this feeling, any valentines he would have been given would have been taken by his mother.

- He tries his best, asking Trey and Cater for help on what kind of things to get his S/O, eventually deciding to get a bouquet of his s/o's favorite flowers, and a self made tart, without any oyster sauce.

Riddle had been waiting at the small, white gazebo in the Heartslabyul garden, having invited his s/o for a tea party with just the two of them. Soon, S/O arrived, greeting Riddle with a smile as they sat at the table with their boyfriend, him seeing timid and nervous. Before they could get out the question of if he was okay, they were cut off by Riddle, who gently placed the gift of the tart on the table, before handing them the bouquet. "Apologies, I'm not exactly sure what would have been a good gift, but I dearly hope you enjoy this. Will you be my Valentine?"

Leona Kingscholar

- He would put in the least effort until he learns his s/o never had a valentine, now feeling he needs to give more effort, putting all kinds of expensive chocolates and jewelery with a sweet note attached.

- Leona would definitely have called Ruggie in to go and get the items he needed for it, though spends the time to set it up, grumbling when he gets frustrated with it possibly not looking good enough.

Kingscholar waited at the door next to his s/o's class, his tail waving back in forth anxiously, as he held the wrapped heart shaped box, some necklaces and bracelets wrapped around it. When the class was over he waited until he saw his S/o and pulled them aside, handing the box over with a huff and a simple question, his face dusted in pink. "Would you be my valentine, herbivore?"

Azul Ashengrotto

- Definitely went in thinking that he would be completely fine, but began to panic when he learns that the s/o never had a valentine who asked them out or gave them something. Azul then begins to plan the best sea themed chocolates, using Monstro Lounge's kitchen to make the chocolates and molds.

- Azul probably adds some extra coins he had on hand, like the chocolate coin things with some nice shells to surround the chocolates, putting it all in a special edition Monstro lounge valentines box.

Azul nervously looked to his s/o, watching them enter the office as he kept the box hidden, staring them down until he finally mustered the courage, speaking "Prefect, I know you aren't familiar with this sort of thing, but please accept this valentines. I hope you accept my offer of being your Valentine aswell."

Kalim Al-Asim

- This man would immediately make such a big deal out of the situation. Expect a bunch of gifts as soon as the door is open. Kalim would go all out, making Jamil stressed and his S/o buried in gifts

- Kalim spends all his time getting gifts, making cards, and even preparing a special party just for his S/o. Of course Kalim tries to make some candies, but Jamil intervenes once he realized what Kalim was doing.

As S/O opened the door to ramshackle, a large amount of gifts fell through, nearly covering them completely, while Kalim laughed, entering the dorm, kneeling next to his S/O, a few small bandages on his fingers from cooking incidents before Jamil's intervention. "Heya treasure! You okay? Sorry that they fell on you- but- When you said you never got a valentine I just knew I had to go all out! So, will you be my Valentine?"

Vil Schoenheit

- Vil would be concerned from this, but is already planning in his head in how to give his s/o a great valentine gift, while making sure it was a healthy and fashionable item for his S/O.

- He has Rook do some recon (Stalking) so he can learn of things that his S/O likes or is interested in. Vil would even avoid some modeling gigs just to focus on the project, wanting it to be absolutely perfect.

Vil had just finished the gift that he made, and began his walk to his S/O's decrepit dorm, confident that his S/O would like the gift. Soon he arrived and opened waited for his partner. When they came out, he gave them the bouquet and spoke "Here Dearest, I truly believe you would love this. I'm sure this doesn't need saying, but... Would you care to be my valentine?"

Idia Shroud

- Immediately says "lol same" before Ortho has to tell him to take this seriously, so that Idia doesn't unintentionally hurt his S/O's feelings. After that, Ortho immediately gets Idia to take everything seriously, helping his brother get ideas of good valentine gifts.

- After a long time of idea searching, he eventually decides to try with his own flair to it. He puts a bunch of game arts and chocolates in a goodie bag, along with a few coupons for a video game store.

Idia walked up to his S/o, his hair already flaring pink along with his face. Ortho was surely watching from somewhere to make sure his older brother didn't wimp out, So Idia knew he couldn't wimp out. The flame haired male walked up to his S/O and nervously pushed the gift bag into their chest, hiding his face. "D-don't make me ask twice, cuz if you do my hp would drop.. s-so uh...be my partner for t-this Valentine's event...?"

Malleus Draconia

- Valentine's? What's that? He would have to ask everyone in Diasomnia about the event, just so that he can understand what the premise is. Sebek is crying as he tries to figure out who Malleus wants to give a valentine's to.

- Eventually he decides on a simple black rose bouquet, with some small gargoyle like ornament in the center, with lots of dark chocolates in a nice box with a black and green bow wrapped around it.

Malleus walked to the gate of ramshackle, a smile on his face, as he pushed the gate open, meeting with his S/O, holding the bouquet close before he gently held their hand, asking gently "My dearest child of man, I was told of this holiday and the proper gifts. Well then, dearest. Will you be my Valentine?"

Also, Ik they teens. Teens, don’t do drugs. But I did as a teen and am still not of age, high while writing this soooo yeah. Please remember that this is fiction and these are fictional characters.

Note: not all characters are in this list. If I didn’t add a character it’s either cause I had nothing of substance to say about them or I don’t know the character enough to make a proper headcanon. Also if I say something wrong I’m sorry I’m not a connoisseur I just do what I get.

Warning(s): General talk about weed, Yuu is a stoner(maybe idk) in this, cursing, unedited and written by someone under the influence

Riddle Rosehearts: As much as I want him to, and I think he would actually benefit from it, he wouldn’t. Especially pre overblot but also post. And it’s more than it’s against the rules. All he knows about marijuana is what he’s learned from the anti drug PSA’s his moms had him watch. And he hates the smell. And his fragile lungs can’t take smoke. And he doesn’t trust edibles or like the taste. So, as much as I want him to just give it a chance and chill tf out, it’s a firm no.

Trey Clover: He’s impartial. Doesn’t like smoking, or getting high in general but he doesn’t have anything against others doing it. May smoke in group settings but rarely. He will 100% make some fire weed brownies if you ask. Also, number one guy to be with if you get the munchies.

Cater Diamond: I think he’s tried it, had a bad high, and never touched the stuff again. Might be convinced to try again with some close friends but only if they know what they’re doing. Also, acts like he knows what he’s doing but ends up hacking up a lung.

Ace Trappola: Yeah why not. He’s down to try anything once. Actually likes being high with people, like him and Deuce and Yuu have reg smoke sessions and he loves it. Just likes the feeling idk. I don’t think he smokes alone tho. Likes flavored pens.

Deuce Spade: Will attend every smoke session and get a second hand high but will rarely actually participate. He thinks he has to be the responsible one while Yuu and Ace get high off their asses. But he’s not against smoking a little every once in awhile.

Leona Kingscholar: For sure dude. Someone is almost always on something in Savanaclaw so he’s been around his fair share and tried a couple things. Doesn’t like the smell from joints cause yk beast man heightened everything. So he prefers edibles or pens. Pens still stink to him but not as bad. Casual stoner. It helps him sleep when everyone in his dorm is all riled up over nothing. Gave Ruggie his first edible but was not happy when he had to take care of him after he greened out. (I have so many nsfw thoughts about Leona and smoking with Yuu omg don’t)

Ruggie Bucchi: Like I said, first time he had an edible he greened out. In his defense, the dosage was way too much. Leona kinda forgot he wasn’t as tolerant as him. He didn’t really want to do it again after that but he figured out smoking was easier cause he could gage where he was better. So now he’s a lil stoner. High Ruggie = ravenous Ruggie. Like Fr you’d think this kid was starving the way he was shoveling shredded cheese into his mouth, straight out the bag.

Azul Ashengrotto: Just gonna make a blanket statement now, none of the mer students smoke. They aren’t technically supposed to have lungs and filling those lungs with smoke is just painful. So he doesn’t smoke. He’ll do an edible every so often, usually to help him sleep, but that’s it. IS the campus dealer tho. He knows a guy. He knows quite a few guys actually. Hooks everyone up, for a price.

Jade Leech: Never has, never will. Has absolutely no interest in it. Doesn’t like not being in control of himself. Will be around when others get high though, he thinks it’s hilarious. Especially when people do too much and get sick.

Floyd Leech: Complete opposite of his brother. Will get high anytime, anywhere, with anyone. It hurts to smoke, like I said previously, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t trying. It’s actually getting better. He also thinks smoking looks cooler than edibles. High Floyd is a very cuddly monster. Will squeeze anyone who gets close enough. Just be thankful that he’s too out of it to use his full strength.

Vil Schoenheit: Will loudly advocate against it and ban his dorm from doing it but probably has a secret stash somewhere. Only Rook knows about it. He’s stressed ok?! You try being a famous actor/model/fairest in the land.

Epel Felmier: My boy wants to. He really does. He thinks it looks so cool, and if Yuu can do it so can he! But the smoke burns his lungs and edibles taste bad. But that doesn’t stop him from trying!

Idia Shroud: OKAY so there are two ways I could write this. Cannon how he probably is, or headcannon how I want him to be and see him as. Cannon, he probably talks a big game but actually knows jack shit about drugs of any kind. And is kinda scared to try. But he will, to seem cool. Ends up coughing up his heart but he tried and that’s what counts. And now he can officially say he’s ‘done weed’. Headcannon, Idia as a little loner stoner. It calms his nerves and makes it easier to talk to people. Usually if he’s out of his dorm, he’s high. He’s also high when he’s in his dorm. It helps him sleep and he thinks better with a lil weed in his system. May have developed a small codependency but that’s okay(no it’s not seek help). Mr wake and bake.

Malleus Draconia: Weed? Like, dandelions? What? He’s so confused when someone offers. Why would you smoke weeds? Lilia has to explain it to him three different ways before he gets it. He’ll try, but please give him an edible. It’s for your own safety. His lungs could probably take the smoke but if he ends up taking a hit too big he will cough up flames and not little ones. Very spacey once he’s high. Will stair at the ceiling for hours and say absolutely nothing.

Lilia Vanrouge: Has, will, wants to rn actually. Lilia lived through the 70s, he’s done almost every drug known to man, and probably some not yet known, at least once. Why not? He can take it. Doesn’t smoke often but also does? Idk how to explain it. Likes flavored cartridges more than anything else. The weirdo who fucks with cotton candy. He gets bad cotton mouth tho so… I mean, if you believe in the vampire theory like I do…👀

Silver: The first time he smoked was with his dad. He walked in on Lilia and a bong when he was like 15 and Lilia was like cmon m’boy. Now, he’s concerned that Lilia wasn’t more careful and exposed him so young but that also means he has an okay relationship with weed. Like, he’s able to make his decision firmly due to plenty of experimentation. He hates smoking and edibles generally but will absolutely body some weed brownies.

Random twst thought

So you know how Yuu is from another world right? I know canonically magic affects them, but what if

What if Yuu isn't affected by most magic?

Like, the stronger ones still work on them, but they have high magic res so there aren't many that do affect them

Since they're from another world, their biology is bound to be different in some way. Otherwise that'll be a bit too convenient imo.

What if magic doesn't even really affect them at all? Maybe the nature of magic is actually a harmless force to them? Or maybe magic is like a virus of some sort that twst people are just kind of weak against. This would be a really funny scenario to explore honestly.

OR!

Alternatively, since I made a virus comparison, what if Yuu is like, reaaally weak against magic? They're not someone from twst, and a whole new type of energy that their body isn't used to might have a really big impact on them and easily harm them (if you want to go the angst route).

Or it might cause a severe allergic reaction because even if it's harmless, like healing magic (which I assume either replaces cells or speeds up their growth), even if it's supposed to help you, the fact that it's a foreign thing the human body isn't used to might make the body attack the new cells instead, and rather than heal the wound, it makes it worse.

Both are fun thought to entertain and since I have two Yuu OCs I might make them both have this muehehehehe

Chpt 7 spoilers utc

A scenario in which...perhaps tears could persuade Malleus to end his reign of dreams?

When we got into Sebek's dream, I found myself getting a bit emotional when Lilia and Malleus started talking about living in Briar Valley together. Then Malleus finally arises and shows he's aware he's manipulating dreams to be pleasant for everyone as such:

What if...you start crying? You're in a world of magic, thrown into a completely different environment a sheer contrast to your boring and magiless life. Experiencing things you never thought were real, it's only a matter of time before you break down. So, before Malleus reveals it's actually him, you begin to have tears in your eyes from utter worthlessness and frustration?

All of them look at you in dismay as tears well up in your eyes and you bite your bottom lip, holding back choked sobs.

"(y/n)...?" Silver said in concern, taking a step forward and reaching out a hesitant hand, before pulling back in the uncertainty of how to handle such an unforeseen situation. "Why are you..."

"You know why," Your voice cracked, "This is all just...so..." Shaking your head, you hid your face behind your hands, tears pouring down your cheeks unable to stop.

"My dear," the dream version of Lilia coaxed, "This isn't a time for tears! This is the mark of new beginnings," He attempted to console you.

"As Lilia said," Malleus pointed out, "Where we can continue to get up to our shenanigans and create new memories that will last a hundred lifetimes-"

"That's not what I want!" You cried out, breaking free from your emotional confines, "I just..."

"Not...what you want?" Malleus stared at you with wide eyes at your sudden burst of tears entangled with anger. This is where his facade had begun to fall apart at seeing your state, where he hesitated in his resolve, only for a moment before becoming angry again at the notion of someone defying his ideals.

"What more could you possibly ask for?" He scoffed almost mockingly, "A life where you do not need to worry about people vanishing on you, a life where friends alike can create even more memories..." You had to force yourself not to fall onto your knees and begin sobbing right then and there, coming out of hiding from behind your hands you pointed an accusatory finger to the black-haired fae.

"This is no better than running away from the truth!" You cried out with tears pouring out of your melancholy orbs, "You can't keep painting over black with vibrant colors, Malleus. No matter how much we wish things were different, no matter what color we want it to be, you cannot just...override and disregard the decisions that were made!" Sebek took a step forward to chastise you but was blocked off by Silver, who had placed an arm in front of the male and looked at you with the same gaze of concern yet understanding.

"Change is scary, I know it is," You began to lower your voice, "But we made our choices. All of us have. Tears will be shed," You stepped forward looking into Malleus's wavering emerald eyes, "I can't do anything to take away your pain, Malleus. I can't do anything to fix what has been done, I can't just un-do the agony of your heart, and we can't force people to stay in our lives when they have their own to pursue." You stepped forward, opening your arms and engulfing the fae in a hug, digging your head into his chest.

"I just...want you back. And I promise, we can work through the sorrows together..."

"Just come back to me, please."

─ then in a flash, your face appeared across his mind.

─ what would you think of him if you found out?

─ would you disagree? or agree with them? even though he doesn't want to admit it, he knows that you deserve better and you shouldn't have forgiven him after what he did to you.

─ what would happen if you do agree..?

─ he doesn't want to lose you. because he knows damn well, you were the best thing that happened to him in his whole life.

Cater isn't great at comforting people. For how much he talks, he never seems to have the right words. When he finds you crying on your bed, he doesn't know what to say, his silver tongue turned lead. Instead, he crawls into bed with you and gently pulls you into his lap.

You collapse into his chest, tears soaking his shirt which you're clutching like a lifeline. Cater strokes your hair, his other arm keeping you held close to him. He doesn't ask what's wrong, it wouldn't change anything. If you want to tell him, he'll listen. Otherwise, he would gladly sit in silence with you for however long you need. Some people who know Cater would have assumed that he can't stand silence, but he really doesn't mind it. Especially if it's with you.

He presses his lips to the top of your head. Even as your sobs reduce to sniffling and quiet gasps, he doesn't break the comforting blanket of silence wrapped around the two of you. Cater holds you impossibly closer to him. Even if he can't articulate it, he swears to himself that he will do everything in his power to make you happy again.

When you finally pull away from him your eyes are red and puffy. You hastily wipe the snot away from your dripping nose, embarrassed to let your boyfriend see you in such a state. He smiles at you as he gently hold your head in his palms, paying no mind to the wet spot on his shirt. A thumb comes up to wipe away the stray tears on your cheeks. He brushes the hair out of your face and lays a gentle kiss on your forehead.

"I got you, baby. Let's get you some water, yeah?"

Ruggie hasn't grown an inch since 9th grade. something about undereating since birth will give you bones as strong as wet tissue paper.

has strange bruises on his body that even he doesn't know where they come from.

freckles and moles on his shoulders/back

thin, but also like super toned from all the manual labor. Think ballerinas, where it's just like skin, muscle, bone and no fat.

very faint smile lines, I imagine they'll get deeper as he gets older.

he also has like, bulging calf muscles. It's honestly scary its the thickest part about him

just about as hairy as the average human, which is pretty little by beastman standards.

wears a kid's shoe size. on a darker note, I think his feet might be like permanently fucked up from wearing shoe sizes that were too small for him as a kid.

floppy ears, and they press flat to his head when he's upset. omg they also press all the way backwards when he's running fast to make himself aerodynamic like a cat.

calloused hands, and he also picks at his cuticles and bites his nails. Vil would be appalled.

you can see his ribs most of the time, they aren't like super prominent (they used to be) but you'll definitely notice them if he's got his shirt off.
