fuckin hello if I write lokikid Tobias out of existence that means the first of Loki’s children that HE didn’t carry HIMSELF like — EVER beforehand - were Eisa&Einmyria with Tory? he was a basketcase at the time for other reasons (accident babies, Maci was not happy,🤪) but if I retcon now it’s so much worse🤩

due to the series of tragic events befalling his first six children Loki has ALWAYS been highly anxious and cagey every time he’s been pregnant anyway and havin to trust someone else now w them was. oh god let me go back in time I feel like I didn’t give that enough wEIGHT AAHHHH

saying this wholeheartedly with the knowledge that even with or without *deliberately* devoting the proper amount of gravity to this Loki canonically was still so stressed out at the time he literally triggered the beginning of Ragnarok but, like, lmao meh,, EDIT to add that whole series of events with Thanatos happened DURING Tory’s pregnancy w them so that’s like. so i binge watched the entirety of The Owl House (S1&2) in just under 3 days and here’s how it went

so lets do a brief overview of me before watching owl house. originally i saw art work and small clips here and there. thought that the style and animation was cool, a show i’d prolly like. and then i saw art of bellos and i thought “..maybe i should watch this”. i wont lie, i thought bellos was kinda hot, he had sort of a loki vibe to him. anyway, i spoke with a friend of mine and he told be about The Owl House. so i figured “why not” and started binge watching it all. but that’s when it went down.. i got invested. i got attached to the characters and i needed to watch more. so i did! (this is where i use my discord messages to show my journey with the show, i’m leaving out minor discussions). !!!!!! INCLUDES SPOILERS !!!!!!!!!

so here you can kinda see what characters are catching my eye. edric, alador, warden wrath, king. and small details that i randomly think about like the eda and lilith lip thingy. the show at this point is very charming and the characters have won the majority of my heart, i’m loving this show. ohhh past me, you were not ready for the heartbreak and trauma buddy.

originally i wasn’t a fan of amity, but she grew on me a lot over the episodes and you can see my slight thought process here

i thought that the relationship felt a bit rushed in my opinion but it might just be the pacing for the show, which i’m fine with. anyways moving on

this is where the pain started kicking in. i wasn’t prepared for the show to do that at all. the amount of times i gasped, paused the episode and walked away.. i thought it wasn’t gonna be more painful but OH MAN was i wrong

so uh, i may have liked bellos’ character a bit.. heh.. ahem, the fight between luz and lillith was amazing. always loved magic fights. and that wraps up season 1. it was really good, the show hit the ground running if you will. the animation team and effects, pls i love you guys so much. onward to season 2!!

you can sorta see that now i’m starting to ramble more in this group dm ^^. anyways, representation!!!!! we love to see it. now is the time where i started using screencaps to ramble with

hunter is just so good, we must protect that mans he’s gone through so much. we need to protect so many of them omg my heart

heh my rambles often go into whatever thought i have at the moment, but this is where the huge ending comes up (until season 3 that is). also edric?? sweetheart. he’s just a dork and i love that.

watching principle bump and the students fight alongside to absolutely destroy the guards was honestly such a treat. i loved it and i want more of it. also principle bump’s got some moves. not to mention the friendship development with gus and hunter!!! not mentioned here is the whole gus struggling with his mind and the illusion cast on the whole school. and fake willow is there and hunter is like “that’s not the captain”, THAT moment was SUCH a moment and i love hunter for that.

at this point in time i have 3 episodes left. i’ve cried over many episodes. but these last 3 made me just bawl my eyes out, especially the season finale King’s Tide.

i adored seeing more of steve, he’s such a goofball and honestly??? love him so much. i want more steve content, steve my beloved. i’d hang out with him, who else would??

and there it is folks. season 2 complete and my heart in shambles. take a look at luz when she tries to open the shack door a few times and have that distant look in her eyes. thats how i feel. i dont know what the creators are gonna do for season 3 but man, im glad they’re taking a hiatus so that i can recover from it. i’ll protect them lot from anything man. i hope eda and them lot are ok T^T

#if i think too hard about predeterminism im gonna start crying #so #im literally just here for the characters im not gonna lie #i love the way characters interact with each other im the type of bitch who stars losing attention when action is going on #ask #anon #i think multiple universes were already allowed to exist as long as they all lead to the same conclusion ? thats why it seems theres so-#-many Types of lokis #so as long as all of those universes kind of tied together like a rope it was good #but now with no one to really take care of the thing its branched out way beyond itself #no longer this tighly wound rope that always ends the same but hundreds to millions of of branching out strings of every possibility #Every choice that couldve been made has been made in one universe or another and everything is canon #and this is of course chaos because that means there's millions of universes where Kang lives and millions of them where hes Not a good guy #so mix a bunch of universes of a powerful universe-jumping being and you've got a bunch of chaos lol #charlespeaks #but anyway ny favourite part is still the way Kang acts and talks to them instead of what chaos he might do to the universe ZJCJCJC

Loki’s been calling Asgard out for its hypocrisy and genocide and colonialism since 2011 but apparently it wasn't as important until Thor got around to realising that it was an issue and naturally that took him literal years to do, and even then it was because his life was literally crumbling around him and he saw a detailed colour-coded diagram 🙄🙄

A thing thats really bothering me in the show, besides the writing, is Tom’s over-emoting, especially since I’ve never seen that from him when it comes to Loki. I’ve seen people say that usually Tom disappears in Loki but now it just looks like Tom playing Loki. At first i was thinking it’s coming on the tail of Tom doing a lot of theater work, but now I’m wondering if it because of the writing? Like you’re right, besides the characterization being what it is, the dialogue is supremely bland. Do ypu think Tom is exaggerating everything to like,, give flavor? Because yes, the over-emoting, lack of subtlety, spoon-feeding us Lokis every thought bother me, but what would the dialogue look like WITHOUT the exaggerated manner hes performing it in. I shudder to think. Its just a theory, but what do u think abt it?

Possible, I suppose. The over-acting and over-emoting is really bizarre coming from someone as talented as Tom, and having seen him in Betrayal I feel like that change is probably not coming from all the theater work? Because that was infinitely more subtle than this.

I also don’t generally like to speculate about the motivations of people I don’t know, but just for the sake of wild-ass guessing about how the fuck this disaster happened, I’d say it’s probably some combination of

(A) Tom trying to counteract the flaws of the script somehow, as you say (sorry Hiddles it ain’t working),

(B) After 10 years of all his brilliant work at creating a deeply nuanced portrayal flying right over the heads of casual viewers and a significant chunk of fans who chalked the character up to “Just Evil,” Tom hit Fuck It and gave up on employing any subtlety, and

(C) The “why go to all the effort of acting when you can just play yourself and rake in a paycheck?” school of acting seemed to work out so well for CHems, he figured he’d give it a go himself. (only kinda joking on this one)

But again, I don’t know the guy and while I (generally) love his work and respect his skill as an artist, we only have the final product to look at and anything we could speculate about the whys and wherefores is only speculation, likely inaccurate, and definitely not the whole picture. And the final product is really what I care about, anyway, so it doesn’t much matter.

And more importantly, I think Tom’s motives are less relevant than the larger context. It was pretty clear from old interviews and such that Tom did/does want viewers to be aware that Loki isn’t Just Evil, so it’s understandable that he might in fact embrace this chance. But the specific way that is being conveyed in this show comes down to a lot more than Tom’s acting choices: there’s the script, the directing, the editing, everyone else’s acting choices, sets and props and choreography and lighting and visual effects and sound and all the thousands of other things that go into making a show. And all of that stuff would be driven by Disney’s evident desire for Loki to be a safe, defanged protagonist with all the sharp edges filed off, for greatest possible mass-marketable appeal and more dollars in their pockets, and screw anyone who actually appreciated the sharp edges and the less mainstream-palatable portrayal :-/

So that’s just kinda where I’m at with it. I have no real insight into Tom’s motivations or intentions, but I’m pretty sure I have an inkling of where Disney’s interests lie on this issue, so I’m pretty comfortable blaming them for this shit and calling it a day.

-akira is roxanne :3c ambitious reporter who v much enjoys the banter between them every time he gets kidnapped hehe and is sooo enamored w bernard bc hes the only other person who seems so invested in the cruel detective prince despite his Villainous Tendencies

-ryuji is hal (ryuji baby im so sorry) but not in like a 'nice guy' kinda way just in that hes the lazy bro whos always hangin around akira.,, but i love ryuji so rather than going mad w power after getting rejected like some kind of dweeb its more of a persona 4 situation where his concern for akiras safety and his jealousy of he and goros (or bernards as far he knows) relationship - it all combines and his shadow self takes over, so instead of being consciously a douche he is just consumed by forces beyond his control 😔😔 and obv snaps out of it after they beat his ass LOL

-souji is metro man lmaoo i think it fits that hed b like a role model n an inspiration to the p5 characters but also opt out of the fighting b4 it can consume him and become his entire life bc soujis character already struggles w feeling like hes living his entire life for other ppl and not for himself :/

-im not entirely sure abt minion.,, i feel like sumire fits better but i didnt play royal n havent watched the entire playthrough so idk her that well ..,, so in my heart minion is ann <33 i rlly like the hc that goro and ann are friends Anyway n i feel like the petty catty megamind/minion dynamic suits them well hehehe

so basically the gist of it is that akira is repeatedly kidnapped by Villainous Detective Prince Goro Akechi and rescued every time by local hunk and hero souji seta, who fakes his own death to get out of the public eye. in the aftermath of that akechi takes over the city but quickly grows bored w the lack of challenge.,, he and his assistant ann decide that ryuji (while kind of boneheaded) has potential to b strong and should b crafted into his New Rival !! but that backfires, as trying to motivate him through the promise of earning akiras interest only drives his jealousy to the point of being all consuming (this is when his shadow self takes the reigns).

akechi accidentally bumps into akira just like in the movie where he panics and disguises himself ( tho i think rather than freezedrying some poor dude its a magic thing idk bc i think its funny if that why his disguise sucks so hard its just bc he was flustered and in a hurry not to b caught so all he could manage was no horns messier hair big glasses) and akira talks 2 him abt how awful it is that soujis gone and that he never even Disliked akechi in fact hed grown rather fond of him after all their flirty rapport and bernard (akechi) has 2 b like mmhmm yeah that guy sucks. and hes caught between sounding indignant bc his pride is wounded and sounding all too genuine in talking abt how much he hates goro akechi LOL😖

ummm they get closer over time trying 2 pinpoint where akechis Evil Lair might be and then they 100% still have that sad restaurant scene where akechis disguise gets all fucked up (i like to think its bc he got so flustered by being kissed that his brain short circuited and the spell dropped for a sec) and akira does the whole 'wtf why did you lie to me why did u string me along was this all to humiliate me?? or worse was this all genuine to you? did u ever think i could love someone like you??' and walks home in the rain especially sad bc hed confessed that hed had feelings for akechi prior to soujis death so now it just feels like its being thrown back in his face Twice smh

akira still gets snatched up by shadow ryuji and cant do anything abt it but not bc its helpless its bc he doesnt wanna hurt his best friend ): he knows thats not him!!! but tldr goro shows up and ryuji gets bonked around bc akira comes 2 goros aid just 2 subdue him not 2 actually injure him! and then he comes back 2 himself and is so sorry and its ok they r besties again :) and goro and akira kiss on the mouth maybe

"I cant wait till we can actually be open about this. I just wish they understood." You sighed playing woth the ends of his hair.

"One day my dove maybe your father will accept me. Until then I'm happy either way." He smiled down at you.

"I'm getting to the point where dad ca-"

"Where your dad can- WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?" Tony had walked into the theater room. You and Loki sprung apart, Loki to the end of the couch, you had fallen to the floor.

"When did you get home?" You asked standing up.

"I asked first. What. The. Hell. Is. Going. On? Y/n." You could see his face turning red.

"Kissing, we were just kissing." You stumbled over your explanation.

"Ah brother, you have decided to court the young Lady Starkling." Thor smiled walking into the room.

"Oh my god." You mumbled placing your face in your hand. "Oh all nine realms." Loki made the same gesture as you rubbing between his eyes.

"NO! NO, NO ONE IS COURTING ANYONE!" Tony yelled turning back to thor

"You, room, now." He pointed to his ans your mothers side of the tower. "You, your just lucky I haven't decided to kill you." He said pointing at Loki.

"See ya later" you waved at Loki before following your dad down the hall.

"No she wont!" Tonys annoyed voice came after.

"Brother this is good, she is a beautiful woman for you. She will not tolerate you mischief, possibly even put you in your place." Thor saod happily slapping Lokis back.

"I am sure brother whatever we had will end tonight if Tony has anything to say about it." He saod getting up to walk to his room. Steve stood there with Bucky watchjng what had happened.

"But if you know y/n she wont listen and shes still gonna be with you if Tony like it or not." Steve shrugged.

"But if you hurt her." Bucky shrugged looking at Loki. "You know the rest."

"This is absolutely embaressin y/n, why? Why him of all people? Hes no good!" Your dad yelled stepping out of his suit.

"Your gonna give your self a heart attack screaming and getting yourself worked up the way you are." You said crossing your arms.

"Hes killed people, hes tried to take over New York, for god sakes he brainwashed Clint! Theres no telling what the psychopath will try to do next! Your not seeing him any more."

"Dad! He was brainwashed, he was tortured. You've never been told that you wasnt good enough, thrown to the side, lived in the shadow of your brother! What do you plan on doing to keep us away from each other? You won't let either of us go on missions. You don't trust him enough and your to afraid that I'll get hurt."

"You'll just stay locked up here with Pep."

"Great so I'm the modern day freaking Rapunzel. Thats not gonna happen."

"Tony," your mom came and put her hand on his arm automatically calming him. "I remember a certain someone that my parents didn't trust or want me to be around." She said calmly. "And you remember what I did? I went with my heart. And out of it I have a beautiful daughter, who tends to take more after her father, and another one on the way."

"Don't lie, I gave your parents a crazy amont of money for you." Your dad said rolling his eyes.

"Tony!" Your mother said smacking his arm.

"Your not dating him y/n, end of discussion. I am very disappointed in you about this, not because its him but because you kept it from us. Go to your room." Tony sighed.

"Its not your decision on who I date, besides do you blame me for keeping it secret? Look how your treating not only him but also me." You turned to walk back to your room on the other side of the tower.

The next morning you was in your gray sweat pants with a gray tank top on and a emerald green zip up hoodie, you smiled to yourself as you realized you had on his color. You shoved your hands in your pockets as you walked into the kitchen where everone was eatting breakfast including Loki.

"Hey guys, its just me, the biggest disappointment you know." You saos walking over to take a seat beside Loki.

"Is this smart?" He asked leaning over to whisper.

You turned your head toward him and placed your hand on his face. "Everyone knows, I don't give a rats ass about what dad thinks, I want to be open and be happy." You leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. He pulled back with a suprised look on his face.

"Oh Jesus Christ y/n, intold you la-" your dad started as he walked in the door

"And I told you I wasnt going to listen." You looked over at him as you took a bit of your eggs.

"Like father like daughter." Your mom laughed shaking her head.

"Young Lady Starkling! You are wearing my brothers colors! The courting continues then!" Thor laughed as he slapped you both on the shoulders, both of you groaned and put your face in your hands.

After Thor had fully embaressed both of you it took no time for the rest of the team to join in, your father still wasnt happy about it but he could get over it. This made you happy; he, Loki of Asguard, made you completely and utterly happy.

Skin to Skin (First Meeting)

Pairing: Loki x Avenger!Reader

Warning: a litol Angst and Panic attack if you will. Brooding God of mischief thats it for now I think.

Summary: You're new to the team and end up messing it up with the God of mischief on your first day in. Knowing his reputation you're up for a fun time in the compound.

Excited is an understatement of what you're feeling today. You're about to lose your mind most likely. You just got yourself labeled as an Avengers and are now in the compound where other Avengers like yourself-you giggled at that thought- are living.

You got there last night and were able to settle in and fix your room. You decided to wake up super early to try and bake some treats to give your new housemates and give a good first impression. You're already prepared for that you've bought all the things you'll need to bake some chocolate chip cookies so starting early is not a problem.

It was still dark out when you began mixing ingredients humming with the tune of your music blasting on your earpods.

You've always enjoyed baking. Your granny taught you the art of it and how it helps calms your emotions and it just became your favorite thing to do.

You're busy folding the cookie dough when you feel it. The hair on your nape stands. Someone or something is behind you…

You slowly turned and gasped on how close the person is to you and you accidentally touched his bare chest making you gasp as loads and loads of emotions came rushing to you. You stared at him, hands glued on his chest as tears started flowing from your eyes. He frowned at you and grabbed your arm to remove it from where you are touching him.

You tried to calm your brain by turning towards the counter holding both hands on its corner breathing in and out continuously as you counted silently in your head.

You hate this. You hate being surprised by your own ability to feel other beings emotions and thoughts through their skin. You would have been wearing your gloves but you really thought you'll be alone in the kitchen. You didn't even hear him come in. You tried to remember in your brain who it was.

Lean toned chest, smooth light skin and long raven ha….ir. your eyes went wide upon realizing who you terrorized by your ability. Freaking Loki of Asgard! The god of mischief, the god that almost destroyed the earth.

Omg! Omg! Omg!!!

You hurriedly turned to apologize but saw no one. It was as if you've been alone the whole time. You wiped your tears and took a deep breath. This is not the 1st impression that you want with anyone on the team.

You finished baking by 5am and had a lot of time to freshen up on your room before you went to the conference room to meet everyone as per The AI Friday's advice. You went in with a bowl of cookies. Scenarios playing in your head on how this will go and your brain automatically went on how a certain raven haired God will react to you.

You entered the room and felt super small seeing as everyone is around. From the Iron man to the Hulk. You swallowed thickly when your eyes landed on the person leaning on the wall in the farthest corner of the room. He's looking at you sharply as if you're some kind of a ticking time bomb. Crap you already made a very bad impression on one of the most powerful beings in the room.

Tony Stark urged you to come stand next to him and you did. You stiffly walked towards him like a little girl on her 1st day of school hugging her backpack but in your case you're hugging warm stocks of cookies in a glass bowl.

"Good day Y/N." Tony greeted and offered a hand. You accepted it with your leathered covered hand and shook his. "It's been a while. I hope you're able to settle in nicely. We're very excited to have you on our team." He said. Frowning as he saw what you're holding. He lifted the cloth covering you cookies using the end of his sunglasses and gasp. "Well color me whipped. She brought us cookies. You should all taste this, you'll die happy." He excitedly took the bowl from your hands and placed it down in the middle of the huge table. You heard everyone's excited comments as they all took some for themselves except one. Loki is still where he was when you came in and still is staring at you.

"You should taste this brother. It's like Valhalla is in my tongue." Thor commented as he walked back next to his brother holding at least 6 cookies in his right hand and munching on two more on his left.

"I do not eat rubbish." He said. You nervously looked away from them and started your introduction. Everyone was very nice and listened intently as you talked which calmed your nerves.

"What's with the gloves?" Asked Sam Wilson.

You looked down on your hands and smiled. Tony talked for you trying to explain as better as he could. Because you would have done it badly. You're a great fighter, skilled even, you've ranked near Natasha and is very good with techs though as far as you know you're here because of what your hands can do.

"So she's an empath?" Asked Captain America.

"Close." Tony answered back. "She's better than an empath, she can absorb and transfer emotions and thoughts through physical contact. She's going to be a great asset in recovering information from enemies." He grinned. "They can say no all they want but with one touch from Y/N they're a gonner and we, the winner."

"That's very interesting. It's like she's a human lie detector." Bucky Barnes said.

"Kinda..you answered back. Though I can be a lie maker if I want to." You joked. Well day one went on nicely...ish. everyone liked you except for the quiet God. He's been looking at your every move.

You went back to your room and happily reminisced about the happenings with your new team. You can't believe you're able to joke and laugh with them.

You're about to go change so you can go to the gym and train when you see him. He's standing in front of your floor to ceiling window looking away from you.

"You felt something when you touched me." He said emotionless. You stared at his back as you walked further in.

"I-I would really like to apologize for that. I would never want to do that. I didn't expect to see anyone that morning." You said.

"No one will know of this." He said turning around now. You couldn't help but appreciate him even though he makes you super nervous with all his staring. He's very very beautiful.

You didn't realize how close he got until you felt his breath next to your ear making you shiver.

"Speak of this to anyone and I will make your life here miserable." He said before you saw green mist and he's gone. Well there goes your plan on making your stay in the compound as great as it can be. Your knees give out and you end up sitting on the edge of your bed.

I have issues with "Turning Red."

Okay so I have some issues with Turning Red, but the problem is no one is bringing this up or pointing it out so I thought it's just me I'll just pretend the movie doesn't exist and let people vibe.

But the only critic is regurgitated bs about "It's about periods- Parents hate it- anti-feminists hate it- Racists hate it-"

like it's all BOTS and fake and not actually critising the film but if I say hey I don't like turning red it is hard to sit through and I just can't watch it I would be lumped with those guys when I have no problem with the film.

I see people like it, I've seen spoilers and think "Oh man that looks cool- but this one THING I just can't sit through the film."

THe actual critics are divided and it says nothing about the film.

[Read more for why I couldn't sit through it- but if you REALLY like turning red back away and don't read coz if you read the rest, then thats on you, you take responsibility.]

Truth is. I can see that this is a good film, the animation elements feel like anime came to cgi better than what ghibli's earwig witch could've done. So that gets a point!

it was able to convey so many messages for EVERYONE was it puberty or was it being diagnosed with a disability? Was it about how young girls have to mask?

I do think the film has charm- there are elements I want to see...

I just couldn't get past the first 12 minutes.

I'm just saying when your on the spectrum when others get representation others don't. as in, the beggining of the movie is a LOT of information packed with random colours, quick shots then theres the dialouge is just tossed in there to the point where it's a bit random and 'quircky'

There would be nothing wrong with that, if it wasn't for the fact that when it comes to boys cartoons everyone is unique has an archetype, the leader the clown the intellect, but with girls like Mabel [Gravity Falls] Lutz [Owl House] Adora [She-ra] Theres a continuing pattern of "I'm am so raNDOM the cake is a LiE- I'm so QURICKY LOL!"

With mei being...alot, I can see myself in this character and know I was just like that as a kid. So I don't dislike her at all. Its just I am getting a lot of information and becoming very overwhelemed to the point where I can't process what is even happening where I didn't even catch their names.

My family [And I] are dsylexic, one sympton is being unable to concentrate on multiple things at once. [So thats my brains fault, not the movie]

So the beggining of turning red is probably giving most people a dopamine rush which awesome, while myself, feel like I'm getting a headache.

And all those quick shot flashing images can't be good for people who are epiplectic [Incredibles 2 was also just as bad so I blame Pixar as a whole it's not just a criticism for this movie its at the company]

Mei is fine. I was able to watch majority because of her she was great and I thought okay I can sit through this.

But her friends feel a bit copy pasted of mei, all out there and random but nothing that seperates them and the only one who seems a little bit different is the one with the tone death voice like the girl from the office leading back to the whole.

Either your the goth or the prep girl like thats it.

So then theres the pacing- which means how the information is presented to you on screen is it fast paced is it slow paced- this isn't a problem with JUST turning red-

I noticed this in loki too.

quick example- current audiences of ALL ages are used to FAST. PACE. INFO. NOW.

Thanks to youtubes algorithim of post a video everyday- Tik toks/instagram CONSTANT quick snap of videos having to be conveyed in so many seconds for people to make a quick judgment to like the video to keep it going. So take current audiences and make them watch an old black and white movie.

Chances are...you're going to be bored out of your mind. So I've noticed tons of current cartoons are just getting a bit more fast and faster to the point where it feels as if someone is hitting fast-forward and everyone is speaking like a chipmunk.

With loki [another show with pacing issues]

There are opening shots of a mountain and it feels as if it's going on a bit too long where you are staring at a shot that is 10 seconds when it should've been five.

When the title screen appears of Mei I thought that was well done, and it gave me such ghibli vibes, but then it kept going of mei just randomly dancing and it was going on longer than it should've been.

Then theres moments in the beggining thats overly animated/over the top like the introduction of town 4 it feels as if the over the top animation should've started once it's established its characters first.

Introducing town 4 was for us the audience to know who the frick these guys were.

Meanwhile the girls already know who town 4 is, I wouldn't change/axe the scene just use the magazine and use the animation of having the town 4 models suddenly come alive of the page where you are transported INTO the magazine of them getting introduced- the transition wouldn't be jarring and having Mei fastly telling you who each one was as if even SHE was trying to keep up with the animation being overly ambitious which felt like a waste of time to the animators leaving the bigger stuff to the middle towards the end towards the finalle- I mean the beggining wasn't EASING us into this world of characters it felt like a slap to the face.

I'm saying as a media student, Mei is fast paced which fair enough it would've been a better juxtapisition to have the animation not as fast/jarring so you're able to hear her speak without trying to figure out whats going on half the time.

Then the dialouge of the girls holding mei back from getting her bus to do a quircky dance- it feels too random but if in the few mintues previous of mei explaining town 4 and the boys DID that dance it would make sense as thats whats keeping them together and a common interest for them all.

idk- it's awful because turning red isn't the only thing that does this- so many of disneys movies regugitate and spew out information in a dump then slow the pace down agonsiingly slow near the end.

I despice Disneys nutcracker, I can't stand Loki, and others movies I can't sit through because Disneys pacing is just atrocious.

Turning Red.

There is nothing WRONG with the information that is turning red being the characters, the animation and everything about it. Its how that information is presented in pacing-dialouge etc.

I have grown up on anime so I'm wondering maybe if I change the language and put subtitles on would that make it easier to watch, I watched spanish/Japanise and chinese dramas/shows animations etc.

The only thing I can think that would explain it [because to reititare since NO ONE is talking about it I KNOW IT'S just me and no one else feels this way about the movie]

Is that as a kid I would watch youtubers who were/are diagnosed with adhd- colourful and fast paced youtube channels like thomas sanders/jazza/jacksepticeye/smosh etc I would gravitate towards.

But as a 25 year old I noticed those channels would grow up appear more calmer and I noticed I have changed and gravitate towards more slower paced videos.

Current kids who've reacted, genuinly enjoy the film.

And thats the POINT!

IF you're a kid/teen whose reading this who cares what I think- if you enjoyed the movie thats IT- the movie did it's job. And with most of fans enjoying it and giving it good reception than thats a win in my book!

Do I think Turning Red is over-hated? Yeah. I think people should talk about the issues the movie has but also the good parts. And to me I do think the good outweigh the bad. Also the fanart fans have made is making me want to give the movie a second chance and try to watch it again *fingers crossed.*

Then theres the others thing [feel free to ignore this]

Okay remember I am 25 and I have watched...ALOT of movies.

So the whole turning red is a period analogy is off-putting to me-

As a women I'll explain- don't bite my head off.

But it just makes me think "Who wrote this stephen king?"

I am just tired of the whole, periods is a metaphor of being a monster or some sort of sexual awakening [carrie/beverly] So seeing a red Panda [monster] and period makes me tired because YES that is something that young girls face and YES good on the movie to make it normal thats okay thats fine.

But it kinda reduces girls to their bodies and some kids who may be transitioning don't get that and seems pretty exclusive [DO NOT take my word for this I am not speaking for trans/nonbinary as I have no right just pointing it out tho]

I have my own issues with it and believe that yeah periods are normal [I tease my dad about it every waking moment] but in media it feels very tired/overplayed to the point where I feel like I prefer if Turning Red was about puberty the line of being an adult acting your age and hiding elements of yourself while also being a teenager struggling with brand new emotions thats very overwhleming chipping away parts of yourself and trying to act like an adult- issues with feminity and either being overly feminie [slut] or rejecting feminity [tomboy or dyke] or maybe being on the spectrum and 'masking' trying to act neruotypical to 'fit in'

I feel like a period analogy is overplayed, but when it comes to neurodivergence, feminism, maturity etc thats something that feels refreshing so I lean more towards that personally.

Meanwhile others would find the period analogy perfect and refreshing so I'm not outright rejecting I am stating that I prefer one thing but I'm aware others would prefer something else.

So I am giving Turning Red another point for being able to convey something for everyone. Like we can all exist in this one space with our own thoughts/opinions without stepping on anyones toes.

My only question for the people who read this far and are either fuming and want to tell me how wrong I am- I will ignore.

My only question is- does the pacing get better later on in the film, should I give it another chance because some of the shots/scenes I've been spoiled seem to be paced very well so I was wondering is it a rushed opening but then sails on later on in the movie?

OR if someone does genuinly want to know and asks "Yeah I've read all of this and completely disregarded it because how can you not like the film I just don't understand."

I know you're probably thinking you're in the right place, but this type of response always puts me in a rage to the point where I can't think.

I have put evidence here and if you can't understand then any further in depth or response from me would just be wasting each others time.

And I would assume you were a troll.

And it makes me feel as if all of my thoughts/feelings was disregarded because someone was too busy being offended over a cartoon.

I have put in so many times how the issues I had was mostly pacing dialouge which means its not what there saying it's how someone edited the whole thing and put them all together thats all.

A.K.A HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANA

This is just a little cracky something for my adored @chaoticpete for her birthday. I LOVE YOU FOREVER MY STUNNING CHAOS TWIN💖

If it weren't for the fact that they saw with their own eyes the exact moment the golden sparkly portal opened up above their heads, Dana's unusually fast reflexes the only thing saving Allie from a certain death (or at leat a very painful concussion), as a very big, very much corporeal Loki fell through it, they wouldn't have believed it.

Like, Marvel Loki. Tom Hiddleston-looking Loki, six-foot-two tall Loki, all leather and metal full asgardian armor on, cracking the pavement under him as he hit the ground.

As it was, they still had trouble believing it, looking up to where the portal had disappeared -again, before their very eyes to the unresponsive. Man? Comic character? Being? God? Laying on the floor.

"Allie, do you see him too?"

"..."

"Allie, tell me I'm not imagining this" Dana reached blindly for Allie's hand beside her, eyes never leaving Loki's figure, unblinking. Finally, she felt her friend's grip on her wrist. They both deemed it close enough to a hand hold.

"It's real"

She was kind of expecting that answer but somehow it didn't make it any easier to process.

It didn't really help that Loki still wasn't moving.

"Is he... Is he dead?"

"I don't know"

"... Poke him"

"What??"

"Poke him with a stick"

"Dude I'm not GOING TO POKE THE GOD OF MISCHIEF WITH A STICK-" Their increasingly louder chatter was interrupted by a gasp as Loki's eyes sudenly opened.

"Allie"

"I know"

"ALLIE HE LOOKED INTO ME"

"I SAW"

"Would the two of you SHUT UP?" There was a second, terrorized gasp, as the asgardian finally arose, dusting his clothes, clearly exasperated, "Even your whispers are loud! can't believe it! First the stupid green monster thats not so stupid anymore, then that would be sorcerer with his portals and now this! This is the most infuriating. exhausting, worst day EVER!"

Dana and Allie exchanged a look and a slight nod before Dana reached into her backpack, producing a magenta and blue can.

"Would you like some Rockstar?"

Loki did a double take,

"Some what?"

"It's an energy drink"

"It's the energy drink-"

"Three hundred milligrams of pure caffeine"

"And sugar, don't forget the sugar

"Yes, the sugar is very important"

"Basically the midgardian version of asgardian mead, only the other way around"

"Yeah, instead of making you drunk it makes you hyper allert"

"And energized"

Loki spent the whole explanation looking from one to the other, there was something eery in the way they talked, and moved, expanding on the other's explanation in complete synchrony. It wasn't unheard of among mortals, he knew. But it usually was limited to twins and these girls couldn't look more different

Except for the fact they were both tiny. And strangely endearing. He had never been one to be swayed by midgardian beauty, but he had to admit there was something charming in their sparkly eyes and impish little faces.

"So you say this... Drink of yours, it can help me recover?" He inquired cautiously. The two girls nodded eagerly, still offering the can to him. He took it, sniffed it, shrugged to himself, and took a sip.

It was foul. Overly sweet and fragant, reminding him of the medicine the healers used to give him back home at the palace, when he was an infant.

But for some reason he could not stop drinking it. He didn't, in fact, downing the whole thing in one go.

"This is... Strangely invigorating" He concluded, handing the empty can back to the impressed girls still gawking at him. And then doing something that sent their jaws to the floor, "Thank you, you are both very kind and agreeable... For a couple of mortals, of course"

The two girls beamed at him, and he couldnt help but smile a little in return. He didn't miss the way their heartbeats lost their rythm, only to return faster and louder than ever at his smile. He smirked to himself, yeah, he still had it.

"Well, I should be off then-" He tried turning around to open a portal of his own but was immediately stopped by twin over-excited voices speaking over each other.

"Wait! Can I get a selfie?"

"Wait! Can I get a knife??"

"Dude!"

He didn't know which request surprised him and pleased him the most.

Well, that's a lie, he knew exactly which one it was. Yes, he had a big ego, so what?

"Why, yes, of course" He grinned, obviously flattered. Having seen his brother do it plenty of times, he leaned down a little, as the girls placed themselves on either side of him, cellphones up high to be able to fit all three of them into frame. He felt them jump a little as he placed his arms around both their waists, smiling even wider. Once that was done he snapped his fingers, a blue portal appearing behind him, showing the face of an impassive Natasha and a confused Thor, as Loki bent down, delicately taking the girls hands into his huge ones, kissing their knuckles in turns.

"I bid you farewell, my fair ladies. You have been most helpful and pleasant. I will not forget your kindness..."

The girls giggled, flushed and giddy as the portal closed behind the god of mischief, and he disappeared once again, the crack in the pavement and the tingle on their hands the only testament of his presence there.

"Oh my god. Did that-... Thay actually happened, right?"

"I have no idea, but if we are hallucinating, I promise I will never, ever, complain about our last braincell again"

"Same... To bad we didn't get knives tho"

"Dee!"

"What? You so wanted his dagger too, don't try to lie to me"

Allie snorted,

"Dude, do you have to make it sound so dirty?... You're not wrong tho"

"You know I have to. And I know I'm not"

"Dee..."

"Yeah?"

"We met Loki"

"I know! I mean I still can't believe it tho. Did we? I mean we did, right? We have a selfie to prove it..." There was a beat before Dana started complaining about Allie's backpack, "What do you even carry im here? I swear this thing gets heavier by the minute"

She took it off and peered into it.

"ALLIE COME HERE YOU ARE NOT GONNA BELIEVE THIS"

Loki Spoilers

In summary...

So that was all boring and dumb as hell.

We start with Kang coming in as the villain, with no build up in him as a character so I had no investment in him. And then he’s just monologuing for 90% of the episode which is just boring as hell. They tried to spice it up with his lil minature dispaly but really? All that marvel budget and THATS the best y’all could come up with?

His explaination was.... boring. And the drama of “The TVA is a lie!” fell flat for me because.... it wasnt a lie? The work the TVA was still effectively true, the bureaucratic murder work still got done regardless, still serving the same purpose. It was just the origins that were a lie. How was Morbius upset when he realized they were sending innocent “variants” to die at the end of time, but somehow didn’t care when he thought they were just personally killing innocents all the time? What big moral difference does that make? Unless perhaps I missed something, because Kang’s big “revealing” monologue just fell so flat for me, it’s possible I just missed out on whatever big important points they were trying to make.

Plus there’s the biggest issue of a long monolgue- a whole lot of telling, not showing. We keep getting TOLD Loki and Slyvie have something special! Told that Loki wants a throne! Then told no actually he doesn’t anymore! (but this is still just new york loki like, 2 weeks later lmao) You’re gonna need some deeper development to convince me Loki’s actually reached that place of understanding marvel. Actually, you’re gonna need some deeper development to convince me of any of this.

Which I guess is my issue in the end, everything felt rushed to me with us getting TOLD about the develops happening internally with these characters. But no one really doing the work. The best we got was the beginnings of a cool friendship with Loki and Morbius, and then we kinda ditched that after 2 episodes. (Hard to be invested in a break up when ya never see a pair together that long.Hard to be invested in any of this lmao.)

Maybe with a season two we’ll get the wacky time cop drama I was hoping to get but who knows! Maybe we’ll just end up with Sylvie sacrificing herself to save Loki because no one at marvel knows how to write dynamic het relationships I guess!
